Linlin is Amazing!! I can't say enough good things about her and her team. The facility is fun, exciting and very clean. My 9-month-old is a big boy, and this was his first time away from Mama. Linlin made him instantly feel welcomed and at home. My 3-year-old daughter had ski lessons in the morning and daycare in the afternoon. At the end of the day they wanted to stay at the daycare it was so much fun. They had lunch and snacks, and they were able to have naps I highly highly highly recommend 10 Stars!! Thank you for making our ski trip worry free and relaxing.

It was our family's first time to visit Lake Louise Ski resort and we had to book our daughter for a day of childcare at the resort's daycare. Booking my daughter was a breeze, Kate and the other ladies were very responsive to my inquiries. When its time to drop my daughter at dc, the lady at the front was very accommodating, let me in and was greeted by Kate. My daughter started crying as it was her first time meeting the ladies but Kate reassured me that my daughter will be fine.
My daughter was sleeping when I went to pick her up, the ladies gave me an update on how my girl's day went and even tracked her sleep time. My toddler was happy and even told me that she liked playing with the other babies. I was amazed and impressed at how the ladies took care of my daughter and the kids at daycare in general. They are knowledgeable and well-trained and I would highly recommend this daycare. I can see myself as a repeat customer in the near future. Thank you so much for the awesome service!

Wonderful experience with Linlin and the whole team at Lake Louise Daycare. Thank you for making the trip special for our whole family.

Thank you for this wonderful experience. Our son really enjoyed the 2 days in this daycare and this was his first experience being in a daycare. I definitely recommend this daycare where the stuff is professional and positive. We enjoyed 2 days of ski with our older son, knowing that our toddler is doing just fine in a warm and welcoming environment.
We know where to go next year again 👌

Skied and snowboarded for the day! snow was fabulous-short lift lines. Our daughter had a snowboard coaching session with Cameron from the snow school and she thoroughly enjoyed it-she is an intermediate/advanced snowboarder. Food at Whiskey Jack lodge was excellent-they had 3 different types of buffets available. Everything was fresh and tasty, not your typical skihill track food. Highly recommend A family ski vacation.

BEWARE!
The daycare: They overfed my 2 year old son (and the lady in the front desk admitted so) and he had, according to the same lady, a small vomit, to the point they didn’t even change his clothes at all because it didn’t even get dirty. When I picked him up I was informed about the situation, I asked a few questions and talked to the lady and we concluded that it was because he ate too much. She told me that if he had another vomit during the rest of the day/night, I wasn’t going to be allowed to drop my son off the next morning (which totally made sense to me). That night we went to a restaurant and had dinner. We also had breakfast at the hotel the next morning. My son ate a big dinner and breakfast, had plenty of liquid, normal BMs and no fever, very active and ZERO signs of being sick AT ALL. The next morning the lady wasn’t there and I had to talk to a different lady who claimed she was the manager of the childcare and the one “who makes the decisions in there” and she completely refused to take my son that day because “he was sick”. I told her everything that I mentioned here and she gave me an absolute NO, which pissed me off because we were travelling from overseas and we were going to ski for only 2 days in the entire vacation. The previous day we only had time to do 3 runs as the place was COMPLETELY AND RIDICOULOSLY PACKED, TO THE POINT THAT WE SPENT TWO HOURS MAKING THE LINE TO RENT THE SKI EQUIPMENT, after dropping the kids off at the childcare and booking their ski lessons. We started skiing that first day at 12:30pm and we had arrived the place at 9:30am. The like to get on the ski lift was ridiculous as well. We spent money in a hotel and also the ski rental for the second day only to find out that this brainless “manager” was not going to take my son even though HE WASN’T SICK AT ALL, just because she has mental problems and believed that agreeing with me to take him was going to mean that she wasn’t going to be the one “making decisions” in the childcare and also because the lady is a total racist and discriminates little children (2 years old) just because!!!!!!!
My niece (3 years old) came back home saying that she didn't like the daycare because they were not nice with her and she was crying when we dropped her off the second day. After she came back, she made the same comments and added that the teacher spilled some soup on her clothes. A minute after we arrived to pick the kids up, they returned her pants to us right after putting them in the dryer (they didn't wash the pants, just put the dirty pants in the dryer). My daugter (also 3 yo) was also unhappy to stay at the daycare the second day. She kept saying that she didn't want to go to that school anymore.
As I mentioned, the line to rent the ski gear was TOTALLY RIDICULOUS! It took us TWOOO COMPLETE HOURS to get the equipment. After that, we had to make another line on a different building/register, to buy the ski lift tickets!
Ski store had 25 people in line waiting to pay at the register!
We didn’t even bother trying to buy water or coffee and even less food during the day because the lines were ridiculous and forget about an empty table to seat with the family.
We booked the ski lessons for my little daughter (3 years old) 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon, and I couldn’t feel more like I TOTALLY WASTED MY MONEY on that TOO. They didn't pay attention to her and she spent more than 50% of the time literally sitting by herself and waiting for the instructor to come back and talk to her. She only went down the hill ONE time in the 40 minutes I was there watching and the rest of the time ALL BY HERSELF sitting on the snow or standing WITHOUT THE SKIS!!!
The WHOLE MOUNTAIN was covered in HARD ICE and wasn't nice to ski like that.
DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR: DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY IN LAKE LOUISE AND EVEN LESS IF YOU LEAVE OVERSEAS. PLAN A TRIP TO OTHER SKI RESORTS IN THE UNITED STATES WHICH ARE FAR BETTER, WELL MAINTAINED AND ENJOY STAFF MEMBERS WITH THINKING CAPABILITIES.

A very positive experience with helpful staff, who particularly made the booking & registration easy. My little one enjoyed her day & we certainly enjoyed our day skiing too. Thank you

The Lake Louise Ski Resort is a large ski area located in Banff National Park that offers a wide range of recreational activities throughout the year. Along with skiing and snowboarding, visitors can also enjoy other winter sports in this expansive resort. With its vast skiable terrain spanning over 4200 acres, Lake Louise Ski Resort provides an excellent opportunity for beginners and experienced skiers alike to indulge in their passion. The stunning backdrop of the Canadian Rockies adds to the allure of this popular winter destination.
Great food options, lift tickets are much more reasonably priced than Whistler. Friendly staff, the lifts and gondolas are all nice. The mountain is incredible skiing and very big. Even though there can be a lot of people the slopes don't feel crowded. Well worth the drive.
Paul Quail — Google review
Skiing here is fantastic! I can understand why this place is considered the best Canadian ski resort of the country.
Not only are the views fantastic, but the range and span of the runs here are so vast. From moguls, to forest, to dips, to groomed areas, there is something there for everyone at every level.
There are free guided tours during the day. 2 departures. One at 10:15 the other at 13:15. They last about 2hours and the people who guide you are very knowledgeable not only of the mountain but also other areas from history to geology, and more. Very friendly. Afterall, they are called ski friends. There are also 4 levels. Green, Blue, double blue, and black.
I highly recommend bringing your own snacks and food unless you want to pay resort type costs. Parking is free unless you want VIP parking (closer to the main entrance). The walk isn't too bad from the parking lot to the main lodge.
L Cla — Google review
The mountain is amazing. The service is well organized. We spend half a day trying different runs and nothing got repetitive. The views are so beautiful you just want to stop and admire.Next time definitely a full day for this awesome ski resort.
Anastasia Bilous — Google review
Some of the best views I’ve come across in a ski resort. Lots of runs in a variety of terrain. If you like powder and trees you’re in for a treat.
We went in the second half of April and parking wasn’t an issue. Had to walk maybe five minutes max to the gondola.
Jessie Suen — Google review
The gondola was a great experience. It provided an amazing view of lake Louise. It's commonly known for the grizzly bears in the area. There are some hiking trails at the top. I had the great luck of seeing a mama grizzly with her cub and also a deer. 2 styles of gondola, open and inclosed. The guide at the top of the mountain was friendly and helpful. He had great bears stories to tell. He even took a picture of our group for us.
Janet Francis — Google review
Amazing views of the mountains range. Easy to access. Lots of parking. Food and drink on site. Do yourself a favour and skip the Banff Gondola and come to this one instead.
Philip Korczak — Google review
It was a nice 15 minute Gondola ride. Coming back down was the best as you had the view of Lake Louise. Few trails to choose from once you go up and great views. Saw some elks on the way.
Sam deZ — Google review
What a great place to see the mountains! You have the option to use the gondola or an open-air chair to go up the mountain; I took the open-air chair both ways and felt safe. You’ll get the most spectacular views on the way up the mountain and on the way down, and that’s in addition to the main show at the top.
Toni Boger — Google review
Ski resort is awesome. The log building are extraordinary. Took a gondola up the mountain for views, saw 2 bears. Nice gravel trails, bear fencing, great view platform. Unfortunately the bistro and deck were closed for the season. Would recommend.
Bill Wilson — Google review
I visited Banff to go skiing here. OK it was amazing and it was literally literally the best skiing experience in my whole life . Everybody says skiing in Japan is also good but I would say the bill from the top at the ski resort was insanely beautiful. Also by conjuring on the back of the mountain was making me feel like I'm at the different planet.
K S — Google review
I was disappointed! All the ads suggested that I’d have a great chance of seeing wildlife, especially grizzly bears and I didn’t see any bears. Not even a deer. I saw a squirrel and a gray Jay. It was a beautiful ride though and the scenery was spectacular. The Wildlife Interpretive Center was great and even offered free coffee and hot chocolate. The restaurant at the main building was fair. I had a burger there. Had to wait a while for it. There’s a lovely gift shop. There’s supposed to be a restaurant at the top but it was closed.

Lake Louise Ski Resort is a total blast! The views are unreal – seriously, you’ll want to snap a pic at every turn. The slopes cater to everyone, from beginners to pros, so no one’s left out. The lines move fast, so you can spend more time shredding and less time waiting. Just a heads up, it can get pretty crowded, so if you’re not into that scene, maybe check out another hill. But overall, it’s a solid five stars from me!
Jared Bautista — Google review
Skied at Lake Louise last week, even though the ski conditions were not good we had a lot of fun. The free ski tour program allows new comers to explore the mountain with resident experts. We enjoyed two great days exploring with very friendly guides. Shoutout to Sarah, Dave, Andrew. This program is awesome. We will be back hopefully when the snow is better!
Pankaj Jain — Google review
Beginners BEWARE! The green trails here are for “advanced beginners” I would say. I write this review from my “beginner/sporadic skier” point of view. The magic carpet is great and actually has a pretty nice area, you can take a second magic carpet for a longer run. After that the “easiest” green is easy street which starts out pretty flat but then it becomes somewhat steep. It merges with the last part of an advanced run, so go figure lol. It’s doable and we enjoyed it a lot but would not even try the other greens which I’ve been told are even a little more difficult. I liked it because it was a challenge for me and I think it helped me progress but some people may find it overwhelming.
The service however is great, the staff is super friendly and well organized. The views are breathtaking. Overall a great experience.
Oh! They offer a “progression” pass which includes only the magic carpet and easy street. You can upgrade it later (paying the difference) if you find easy street too easy for you. I probably should have done that.

Dont you have money to do proper parking? Revenue $15M/year. Seriously? Mud? I bought ticket for $146 and have to walk to car in mud?
Sunshine dosent have that problem - so its possible.
Man washroom stinks. You can smell urine before you enter to washroom. How hard is manage it? I was there 4 times this year and nothing changed. Its permanently odor.
Again, Sunshine never had that problem - so its possible.
Maybe you should change name: Lake Urine Ski Resort?

Absolutely fantastic ski resort for experienced skiers/boarders! Black runs are gorgeous if you got lucky to catch a snowfall! For the first timers, it might be a bit steep and pricey to learn. However, instructors are world top class 👏
My wife took private ski lessons, and our instructor Louie from GB was even able to challenge me at the same time to ski without one ski, haha. That was an awesome experience! Thanks, Louie! The best time is 8.30 am lessons, when you are the first on the slope.
P.S. For all Sask folks, there is a prerrie pass which gives 20% discount and a free 3rd and 7th day. This is a bargain!
+ Also, the parking lot is enormous, no stress finding a spot 👌
- The lounge zones and restaurants are very busy, European Alpaine food courts/ ski in-out restaurants are organized much-much better. This is probably the only one concern from my side...

Nice walk up to view the painted pots. A couple of spots quite muddy so you had to balance your way across boards ( make shift walkways) but manageable

40 min out-and-back hike (some ground was muddy when we went). Make sure to bring appropriate shoes!
First part was easy, beautiful view of the river from the bridge. Second part was slightly harder up to the paint pots themselves. Interesting colors but not much to see.
Jamie ?Serena? Wei — Google review
Visited paint pots and found that new trail was installed so no need to walk on mud anymore. Took us around 15 mins one way to see the colors. Worth the visit!
Daniel Hsu — Google review
Was more like orange mud. Was a beautiful view of the water with a pretty bridge though. Couldn’t go too far cause the path is too much water covered. They tried to put wood logs to walk over it but eventually got too hard and the person before us said it was not worth going farther 😅
Jen Webb — Google review
We didn't spend very long as our granddaughter wasn't feeling well, but it is a nice little walk and baolutely beautiful.
Richard Bone (The Trooper) — Google review
An in places muddy short walk brings you to specially coloured small pools. it's only 2 km long, and has only a small elevation gain. Green, brown, blue, you get the whole color scheme.
Jo Dejonckheere — Google review
The orange ground was cool, but sadly I couldn’t see the paint pots because the trail was pretty much a swamp. It was just a couple rickety logs you are supposed to walk on, and your shoes are done if you decide to continue (They will be stained orange). I feel like Parks Canada could learn a thing or two from the American parks system about infrastructure and trail maintenance/building. What they should have done was build a boardwalk. Maybe it would be okay if you brought rubber boots.
Ryan Robertson — Google review
An interesting walk. Impressive coloured landscape.
First part of the trail is easy , the second a little balancing challenge over logs and broken boardwalk to avoid getting shoes and feet dyed red. Probably easier later in the year when the ground is dryer.
Steven Vickers — Google review
Such an amazing hike. The terrain is very different. The colours are something to see. It can be wet on the trail so boots are a good idea. The make-shift board walk requires some good balance. Worth the extra effort to see the Paint Pots.
Jordan Janisse — Google review
This is a nice hike from the parking lot up the trail is about 5km. Lots of side trail hikes as well. A great place to stop and stretch the legs!
Reg Belyea — Google review
Beautiful easy hike. Very muddy so wear water proof shoes or boots. Cool place to visit. My dogs enjoyed playing in the mud. I hiked here from Marble Canyon which was 3km hike one way and fairly easy.
Moraine Lake is a stunning lake in Banff, known for its vibrant blue-green color and surrounding hiking trails. It is fed by glaciers and situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Despite being oftentimes mistaken for Lake Louise, Moraine Lake has its own unique charm. Due to increasing visitor numbers, parking can be scarce at both Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. In such cases, visitors are advised to park at the overflow parking lot and take the Parks Canada shuttle to these locations.
Absolutely Beautiful lake!!
Spectacular, stunning and Amazing scenery around the lake. Loved the turquoise water. It was very crowded when we visited in July. Parking is available near lake however it gets full pretty fast.
A must visit place when visiting Banff!!
Highly recommend!!

A conflicting feel on the effort of what you have to do in order to experience this beautiful place. We did a good amount of research before attempting here. We woke at 3:30am and ventured out for an hour drive here. Coming down Lake Louise Drive, you will not be allowed to make the left into Moraine Lake Rd so need to drive to lake Louise and double back and HOPEFULLY they allow you to get into Moraine Lake Rd. if the lot is full then the attendants there will wave you off and you will have to go back in town, double back and try again. Arriving here at 5am, luckily there was 2 parking spots left on this tiny parking lot. We thanked the gods and then slept in the car until sunrise. You can take the short climb up to the rockpiles left of the lake but it will be a mod of people and picture takers here that will stay for longer times, but the view of the lake here is breathtaking. Afterwards you can take the path on the right side of the lake and enjoy a less-people experience of lake side or venture into the lake bed for more grounded shots. It can be a once in a lifetime thing but for me once in a life time is enough. Perhaps you may get a better chance of finding a parking spot if you come later when the morning crowd is finished and they are leaving and freeing up spots. Bathrooms here are pit toilets only so prepare mentally.
Andrew Choi — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking and so very peaceful! And yes the water does look exactly like the photos, no filter added!!
Personal vehicles are not allowed, only for accessibility purposes, so purchase you shuttle ride ahead of time on Parks Canada recommendation is 48hrs before.
Shuttle takes you from Lake Louise resort to Moraine then another from Moraine to Lake Louise and back, very efficient and you can enjoy the view.
Sam — Google review
Amazing! Almost unbelievable. I thought Lake Louise was turquoise but this spot is SO MUCH MORE MAGNIFICENT! Both spots are a must visit but the water here is spectacular.
Bryan Lisbona — Google review
Amazing view.
Beautiful emerald green lake. You can climb up to the hill with rocks and will see fantastic landscape from there.
Maya Tarin — Google review
Highly recommend the parks Canada shuttle! Friendly folks and they stay exactly on time so you can rely on them. The earlier in the morning, the better during the summer months. If you go along the lake, it’s less crowded. The canoe rentals look beautiful. It was $140 for up to 3 people per canoe.
Sam A — Google review
The MOST beautiful place in Canada. Without a doubt the place that’s a must to visit. There is a nice souvenir and little snack shop also.
The canoe rental was expensive but totally worth it, it adds an additional layer to the experience of our visit.
On a side note, there is no cellular network signal when I went but there was a pay phone!
D D — Google review
Went to Banff in summer of 2021. Personally I like here better than Lake Louise. I was mind blown. The color of the lake is insanely beautiful.
Song Kim — Google review
Best lake near Banff! The parking lot does fill up fast but we did get lucky in finding a spot, perhaps it was low season. The lake is a beautiful turquoise blue and the little hike up the top of the rocks gave us a nice view from above. Would highly recommend the hike if you’re somewhat physically capable.
Bernard So — Google review
Took a private shuttle to the lake and it was fuss-free and convenient. Alternatively, you can take a bus from the Park & Ride in Lake Louise but you have to book in advance. If you’re not driving, you can actually take a free shuttle from near the visitors’ centre to the Park & Ride. Do not miss out on this view!! It’s really not that difficult to get there and is absolutely worth it. Many others were having a little picnic while enjoying the view of the lake and the Ten Peaks. I did too, with cup noodles (just remember to bring a tumbler of hot water 😉).

Situated in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, this glacially-fed gem is a postcard-perfect vision that lives up to every ounce of hype.
If you're looking to connect with the raw beauty of the world, this is the place to be.

The scenery is absolutely stunning. Every visit, the weather varies, and the color of the lake is always different. Although taking the shuttle can be a bit inconvenient, the beauty is worth it.

Environment was so peace and calm with positive vibes. Breathtaking view from every corner. The lake was amazing with cleanliness and fresh water smell. The mountain was damn beautiful. It's a perfect weekend with friends and family.

Hands down, the most beautiful place I have ever been in my life. Is this place busy? Absolutely. Is it worth the crowds, the waits, the parking lots, and having to take a bus from a parking lot to the lake? ABSOLUTELY. Do not miss Moraine Lake! I parked in a parking lot a ways away as the closer one was full and took a bus to the lake. I visited in August and one day had shorts on and was swimming in Emerald Lake, then the day I went to Moraine Lake there were specs of snow while on the bus ride up. There were tourists for sure, but there were also plenty of spots to sit and take in the incredible view without it being obstructed by others visiting. Again, do not miss this place!
Brynn O'Connor — Google review
Moraine Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever been to! The lake is serene and the powder blue water is absolutely surreal! The mountain range surrounding the lake looks like jagged arrowheads and adds a great dynamic to this wonderful place. It does get crowded and people will definitely get in the way of pictures. It was surprising how easy it was to get here from the parking lot. That being said the parking lot fills up quick and they close down the road when it fills up so get there as soon as you can. We tried going multiple times and only got in once due to the closures so keep that in mind. Of all the places I visited in Canada I would put this up on the list due to the sheer beauty of this lake!
Jeremy Janus — Google review
I love this place, it is always amazing, breathtaking views, a lot of activities to do, from viewing, hiking, kayaking or boating, a side there are different services at the hotel. Take in mind currently there is a ban for the private cars to reach the lake, you have to use the buses, reserve and pay online.
Giovanny Romero — Google review
Moraine Lake is an amazing destination, but there are some important things to know before you go. The primary mode of transportation to the lake is by shuttle buses, and it's advisable to book them in advance.
I used the "Moraine Lake Bus Company" and had a great experience with it.
Once you arrive, you'll find an information pop-up for hikers and the general public, as well as plenty of public bathrooms. The Moraine Lodge Lodge features a small cafe and a gift shop, and there's also a canoe rental available. Of course, the main attraction is the stunning and vast lake itself.
I highly recommend bringing your own kayak, paddleboard, or any other inflatable watercraft to fully enjoy the lake. However, be prepared for the water to be extremely cold. Make sure your equipment is inflatable, as it needs to fit in the shuttle bus.
The hiking trails are family-friendly, and there were many families around when I visited. However, the area can get overcrowded, so keep that in mind when planning your trip. For more challenging hikes, check with the information staff from the parks.
You're allowed to bring your own food and supplies, but be sure to check with your shuttle company about any limitations on the number of items you can bring.
In summary, Moraine Lake offers a beautiful day surrounded by its crazy blue water. Just keep in mind the transportation restrictions and the potential crowds, and you'll have a fantastic time exploring this stunning lake and its scenic surroundings.
Marcos TM — Google review
Spectacular and awe inspiring. The water is a vivid neon blue like no other lake I've seen before and surrounded by the Canadian Rockies, giving it a surreal view. Easy family friendly trails around most of the lake. Absolutely stunning making it one of my favorite places on this earth.

A beautiful combination of mountains, logs, rocks and blue water. Such a magnificent destination is great for weddings and such. You can sit there all day. Bring family, friends or date. Whatever you do don't bother with the logs. Read the reason on the sign posted there.

Moraine Lake has a really small parking lot so if you want a spot, you better get there around 2-3am or in the evening around sunset or later. Beautiful view. Take the short trail up to the Lookout spot on the rocks above the lake, especially if you go for sunset. Or rent a canoe or bring your own kayak to paddle around the lake.
Jewels Lutovsky — Google review
Plan ahead for the shuttle that takes you to the lake, hike loop around the lake is pretty much flat but lake changes colors as you reach the falls at the end of the loop. Great to capture reflections of the lake, glaciers partially visible

This one is a notch above Lake Louise, but they are both breathtakingly beautiful and completely different shades of blue.
This was a bucket list item that lived up to the hype, and then some.

This is Moraine Lake, and the pictures speak for themselves. It is hard to put into words how beautiful this place is. Make sure to book reservation tickets way in advance or the last minute ones. We also paddle boarded on the lake, you can bring your own boards as long as they have been dried properly and you fill out the proper permit. We spent time hiking around the lake as well as enjoying the time. If you take the last bus up it didn’t seem as crowded as when we went up in the morning. We were lucky to have a break from the smoke, but we absolutely recommend seeing the beauty of this place.

One of the most stunning, picturesque places not just in Canada, but in the world. Moraine Lake is beautiful any time of the day but especially at sunrise. In the summer months you may even catch the Milky Way behind the mountains on a clear sky. It can get very crowded but the new rules may help. Pay attention to access before May and in or after October this place shuts down. Be sure to do the canoe ride!

Most scenic places I have visited . Count yourself lucky if there is sun when you visit moraine lake .Its most of the time drizzling or raining there (carry umbrella) . You have a short hike and rent canoes during the summer periods .

The luxurious Fairmont Château Lake Louise is a sophisticated lakeside hotel offering a variety of dining choices and outdoor activities. Nestled amidst breathtaking Canadian scenery, this grand resort overlooks the stunning emerald waters of Lake Louise. Surrounded by majestic mountains and dense forests, the resort is committed to environmental conservation and sustainable tourism practices. Its prime location in Banff National Park makes it an ideal base for exploring the pristine wilderness.
Our main reason of joining the 5days Rockies Bus Tour..
The hotel has old world charm. Be warned there are stuffed Stag heads in the lobby area.
We had one of the non lake view rooms (#260).. (avg costs for non lake view depending on when you reserve per night is $700-1200 Canadian)
Take the elevator to the basement and walk out the back and viola, there is the lake.
We arrived late in the evening, so after you drop off your luggage, walk around the grounds, we sat on a bench by the lake and enjoyed the night sky, even with the hotel lights behind us, we can see the stars quite clearly.
Get up before sun rise and go to the lake and watch the lake come to life.
Hotel is attached to the public park so there will be other users around.
Look for the ‘Living Room’ off the lobby main staircase, there are lots of games tables set up for board games, reading, and just relaxation area. Coffee, tea and water station also there. Nice concierge person man the desk and just check to make sure you are a guest.
Our room (#260) is not big but include tea station and kettle inside the cabinet under the TV. Mini fridge also, safe is in the closet.
Bathroom has no counter space so if you need more, use the desk.
Swimming pool is open until 11pm for adults and gym is 24 hours.

Quite expensive food options and a bit too fancy. Nice lake outside the hotel and great for skating in the colder times of the year. Staff were wonderful and always cheerful to work. Pool was open and gym was really nice and clean. The outdoor bar was really cool and made of ice.

I love this place. The views alone make it worth the distance and location. Service is top-notch. The amenities are incredible. The shops and food are great. All staff take care of all guests. The only downside? It's far away from everything else (except for Moraine Lake and the Lake Louise Village itself). But if you've got a view like below, who would wanna leave?

Our first night here we were tired and hungry. We went to the Alpine social and had the best service. And an excellent meal. Shae was our server and she was amazing! Darsh was the manager and he was amazing! They were warm welcoming and the most gracious of hosts. The kitchen staff was on point because our meals were spectacular! We dined with them on 7/16/23. Thank you for being so great!!!

We had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The housekeeping staff did a great job. There are many restaurants here and all the ones we tried had great drinks, food and service. The view of the lake is spectacular, with many large windows in the lobby and restaurants looking directly out, as well as outdoor seating. The property is very well maintained. The wifi is stable and speedy.

I simply cannot say enough about this magnificent hotel, in this magnificent location, and all of the magnificent people who work here. I have never in my life experienced this level of quality and care and attention to detail. The level of customer service is simply incredible. At every turn your every need and desire is anticipated and gracefully offered to you. The views are breathtaking. The quality of meals deserves Michelin stars. My family will never forget our stay here and we are already hoping to return again soon.
Check in was a pleasure. The little extras in our room were so appreciated. The horseback excursion up the mountain was exhilarating. Sipping hot chocolate by the lake before bed is the stuff of dreams.
This visit was only two days long but we will never forget it.

What a magnificent hotel. The location can't be bettered, our room had an amazing lake view. The in-room amenities were great but the bathroom could be more generous.
The public amenities are gorgeous and luxurious. We especially enjoyed the living room for a relaxing evening.
We are in the pub in the evening which is relaxed and informal, and breakfasted in the Louisa restaurant, they provided a amazing buffet and hot plates of delicious food.
We have wanted to stay here for a very long time and it didn't disappoint.

A historical hotel in a magical location. It is nice hotel overall and they are doing great job keeping it up-to-date. It is overpriced for sure but enjoyable to stay in in summer or winter alike. There are many restaurants and small shops. The swimming pool with hot tub are a must. The service is good overall and the staff are friendly

Always a pleasure to visit this beautiful hotel. Service and food is always consistent and excellent. You can't beat the location! Lake Louise is beautiful all year round . Rooms and bathrooms are smaller as this is an old property so that is to be expected. There are still some rooms that have not been renovated and those are dated. However, the hotel itself and the very lovely team who works there more than make up for it . Way better value than the Banff Springs!

We had the most memorable experience here. The service was exceptional.
My daughter broker her wrist skiing and the staff went above and beyond to make her feel special. Everyone here was friendly and made you feel at home. The food and service was excellent and the location and view you can not beat.
Thank you for an amazing time and making us feel so comfortable under the circumstances.

Stayed 1 night at the Chateau Lake Louise in early April. I was able to book my room using an AB/BC resident discount rate, which made the stay more affordable. My room was on the top floor in the centre of the main building with a stunning lake-facing view. The room was small but quaint and comfortable. The afternoon tea was very nice. The breakfast buffet was extremely varied, fresh, and delicious. I had a 60-minute massage in the onsite spa; it was relaxing and calming. Hotel staff were professional, polite, and friendly. There is also a charming book shop on the main floor, which gives the hotel a unique feeling. I visit this shop every time I visit the hotel. There are a variety of books, even rare and out-of-print ones. The owner is very helpful and friendly; you can tell that the shop is a real passion of his. Overall, my stay at this hotel was like a dream and well worth the price.

Loved our stay here and this place exceeded the expectations. Lake Louise is beautiful and view from our room was perfect as well . Service is excellent . Stayed there in last October and it was high chances to see northern lights during our stay. When I talked to staff about northern lights then they went above and beyond to recommend near by place to see and it was spectacular. We loved the sandwiches and food at pantry. It was perfect to pack lunch for day hikes . Also loved the in room dinning service . I would definitely stay here again .

Perfection. We stayed on the 8th floor with views so astounding I could have spent my whole vacation looking out the window. Restaurants were excellent, service was excellent. My only comment on my stay is I wish they had more of a lunch menu, sure the steaks were amazing, but something can be said for some chicken strips or a veggie platter. Pool, hot tub and sauna were excellent. We went for a massage at the spa and were treated like royalty. Every employee literally wants nothing else but to make your stay better. Great job.

Gorgeous views but rooms are mediocre with tiny tiny tiny beds. Spent more to get a lake view suite is highly recommended.
Pool is indoor, very small, with an ultra strong smell of pool bleach. Gym is next to it, also small, so no one is using it.
Some rooms doesn’t have A/C and can get really hot. Especially during summer and heat waves in spring season. They do provide small portable A/C units in these rooms but doesn’t have proper set up for it. The tech didn’t set it up right and the exhaust hot air circles back into the room. I have to extend and re-adjust the exhaust hose so it points outward. But even so it’s still not a good set up and still feels hot at night. But it looks like they are remodeling the rooms so hopefully it won’t be the issue anymore.
Restaurants got nice setting and amazing views, food is ok with reasonable pricing.
Overall the hotel is really nice so do upgrade yourself to a lake view suite (best if you go for the corner suite) and you’ll be amazed at how beautiful Lake Louise is.

We were blown away by our amazing view of the lake from our room, and were relieved to be staying here for ease of parking and ease of access to things around the lake in general. Being able to cut straight to the front of the line for canoe rentals was a huge plus of staying here (otherwise people who weren't staying at the chateau were waiting at least 2 hours...no joke). The only reason for 4 stars is the never-ending throngs of people EVERYWHERE at all times. Unlike our experience at Moraine Lake Lodge or Emerald Lake Lodge, there never seemed to be any reprieve from people here. It was constantly packed inside and out. Also, the hot tub and steam room area was disappointingly small with no view. Anyways, we were still glad we stayed here, mostly for the ease of access and the stunning view from our room. If you only want to splurge on a single place in the area, I would pick Moraine Lake Lodge over Lake Louise. Not only were the accommodations more luxurious and worth the price, but Moraine Lake itself was much more stunning in our opinion.

I am so mixed about this review. There is a massive construction project doing on in front of the hotel. The first thing you will see driving up is a large red crane towering over the building. It isn’t the sight of the crane that bothered me, it is the construction noise all day for 12 hours. Not peaceful at all. Also, we wanted to go on the sunrise tour to moraine lake and we were told it was full. I went back to the desk to see if there was any kind of a waitlist and the attendant said yes. This wasn’t offered to me the first time around. Also, the second attendant said they could take the larger bus and so she felt certain we would be able to go. As far as I know, it only takes one person yo drive a bus and if a larger bus could have been taken to accommodate more guests, why wouldn’t this be done on a busy august weekend? Who is making the decisions needs to make better ones and the concierge staff needs to be trained to a consistent level on one of the hotels key offerings. Disappointed for sure. Lovely location.

This is the most beautiful location for a hotel! The view from our room of Lake Louise was stunning - it was like we were looking at a painting.
We stayed 2 nights as part of our honeymoon, and it was excellent. The staff were so kind and made a big deal of our honeymoon celebrations! They were so welcoming and always happy to give you some advice about what's good to do nearby.
We would love to come back again!

Beautiful hotel. The lake view room itself is worth a stay here. Breakfast is out of this world!
However, we were not informed at all about the activities available to us (no email, text or verbal from check-in staff). Specifically it was the children's adventure activity. We later found out by seeing other children doing this in the lobby but it was too late for my kids as we had to check out soon. It's a small thing but why create such an interesting activity program if you are not going to let your guests know about it.

We stay for three nights. There were a couple minor issues, that were dealt with well. And then there was a major issue which was not the fault of the staff. But Matthew at the front desk did go above and beyond to have us leave with a positive experience. THANK YOU MATTHEW! Fairmont Matthew deserves a raise. You need to ensure you do not lose him at a member of the team.
But I also feel the hotel needs a hotel dog. Other staff tell me the manager is not a dog person and that's the reason for not having a resident dog.
I think the price is worth it for having access to the mountains and the lake, that image that is one of the one of the images of Canada. However the hotel is a hotel unless you are there for an event the access to lake is the only thing that makes this resort worth staying. I did feel the lounge closed early way to early.
And some of the menus were not good for visually impaired people.

A first-class hotel. Top-notch service from all people, with a fantastic view of Lake Louise and the mountains. Excellent food and accommodations. I had a discrepancy on my bill and Tom, the Outlet Supervisor, was expedient and helpful in ensuring everything was taken care of. The parking valet was also very polite and left bottled waters in my vehicle. I will certainly be staying here again.

The view from our room was excellent.

Undergoing a large amount of building work. Great view of car park from our room. Had to insist on a dinner reservation, they seemed more happy to serve walk in people than guests paying $1000 per night. Too many none guests walking in hotel, and using facilities
Not worth the money to stay at this hotel. Didn't actually speak to a Canadian, plenty of foreign staff that just didn't care.

We did not stay here but went inside to look around and to warm up after walking around the lake. Very nice and upscale interior, lots of shops and food items. Inquired with concierge about the area and he was very friendly and informative. Various areas under construction at the moment inside and out so would inquire about room bookings that may have construction views.

This property is absolutely stunning. We came to celebrate a special occasion November 3, 2023 and were treated so kindly. We got a room upgrade which was a lake view room on the top floor which was absolutely incredible and a special gift delivered to the room as well. The room was on the small side but it didn't matter because the view was spectacular. Service every where was so good, everyone was great. The pool and hot tub are tucked away, would love to see an outdoor hot tub if I wanted to get real picky.
If you're thinking of treating yourself, come here, it's worth it.
We had a couple drinks and the meat and cheese platter in the Lakeview lounge. Cocktails are pricey but delicious and the board was enormous and also delicious.
The building is so gorgeous and clean. It was a beautiful stay. Thank you so much!

Our family of 4 stayed 3 nights in a Mount Temple suite which included a large beautiful unobstructed view of Lake Louise. Each evening we had light snow which created a wonderful snow globe like setting. The hotel and staff were amazing. We enjoyed the extra amenities such as the shuttle service to and from ski Lake Louise, the spa and skating. Hiking and skating on Lake Louise were great as the view was outstanding and the conditions were very good. We enjoyed the dining and drinking options and found the overall value to be fair. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to get away from the daily rush to be in a very friendly environment with unlimited outdoor activities. The staff are very well trained and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Notable staff members who made our stay extra special include Bree, Step, Huey, Erin and Jasper. We look forward to returning to Chateau Lake Louise again.

Most incredible experience! We decided to splurge for our 40th wedding anniversary and I'm so glad we did. The room on the top floor was small and a little warm for us at night even with the window open but the view made it meaningless. There was a table fan in the closet we could have used. That view with the frozen lake and snow covered mountains was spectacular. Nothing like it. Plus the service was over the top. They left us a bottle of champagne and a little Happy Anniversary dessert in the room for us. The trails, sleigh rides and the ice skating was so worth it. It was a beautiful sunny day in March so perfect weather. All the dining options were amazing. We got a complimentary breakfast for our wedding anniversary celebration. Can't imagine anything more special!

Very happy with the hotel, our room was clean and spacious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They offer recreational activities and have shuttles that can take you to places around lake Louise, which is very helpful if you don’t have a car. Excellent, but I expect nothing less given the price. They did exceed expectations. The food was delicious in all restaurants, given they were expensive/over priced, $65 for chicken breast, back home I can buy a 3 pack for $8. The rooms were lovely and clean, shower pressure and temp was good. The lake was lovely this time of year. Unfortunately I didn't do my research and lake Moraine was closed which was a shame, but I'll be back.

Absolutely stunning! This hotel is beautiful and the view right outside your window is breathtaking! The restaurant inside is a great place to warm up and have lunch after visiting the lake. The service was AMAZING, each server was so friendly and extremely professional. The food was on the pricier end, comes with being at a 5-star hotel. I wouldn’t say the food blew me away, but it’s definitely fancy! We paid $24 for a small bowl of soup, I personally wouldn’t get it again, but it was part of being at the hotel. Again, the view is what you’re paying for. Absolutely…STUNNING.

Fairview Lookout is a viewing deck located at the top of the 3.6 km (2.2 mi) and 145 m (475 ft) long trail that leads through the trees to Lake Louise. The deck offers stunning views of the lake and Chateau Faimont, as well as spectacular winter scenery when covered in snow.
Lake Louise was lovely, but make sure not to forget all the other lovely lakes. Some, even more beautiful than Louise, and less touristy.

Excellent views overlooking Lake Louis. Highly recommend going here to take photographs or for a scenic hike.
There is still lots of snow even in mid may so I suggest you to bring hiking boots. No public washrooms available during this season, but if you sneak into Fairmont Hotel, near the restaurant overlooking the lake, there is washrooms nearby.

The best way to leave the masses of people a the parking space and the hotel is to go here. It only 20-30 min up the mountain, but much more quite with less people. The view over the lake is stunning albeit in my opinion the hotel screws the view a little bit.

Nice winter hiking trail near Lake Louise. Access from public parking lot and take the trail on the left after walking around the snow bank and enter into the trail area. About 1 hour for a round trip. No snow shoe required as visitors have stepped out a path. Ice cleats will help with a few steep spots.

This is a 1.6 km hike. If you're not a well experienced hiker, it's a difficult trail. Definitely not an easy one, as it's 1.6km each way of a really steep hike for the entire duration of the trail. Once you get to the view point, the views are incredible. Highly recommend this one if you're looking for a short hike with an amazing view of lake Louise and the famous hotel. Take it slow and with breaks. The hike past the viewpoint is currently closed.

It's a fairly easy hike with mostly uphill walks. The walk up to the lookout is about 30mins normal hiking pace during deep winter even for kids and elderly. The vantage point from the lookout down is so worth it. Personally I think the view is the most magical around November when the forests are covered in snow but the lake isn't completely frozen yet giving you that winter wonderland postcard moment. A must do if you are visiting Lake Louise!

Best viewpoint for Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel. Short walk from the lake. To hikers who going for the longer trails towards Fairview Mountain or Saddle Pass it worth to walk extra 1.5 kilometers on the way back or forth to see that scenery

It is amazing to see how the distinct colors separated between the lake, mountains, rare rocks, and the trees. It is definitely the top recommendation for tourists to visit in Banff. The sunshine in the early October adds more warm luminosities to the lake and makes it special.

A great little hike away from the masses!
I could see this being challenging for those not equipped for a steep hike, but if you’re prepared, it’s a great workout with an amazing pay off.
We had walked out onto the frozen lake but had wanted to do a hike, so we went looking for some trails around the lake and found this one.
The view from the lookout was spectacular, even with the ice and snow. We had some sandwiches at the top and a raven joined us in a tree - which was pretty magical and fun!
If you’re doing this hike in the winter, I recommend proper footwear or the addition of crampons to your boots! I had mine on and I didn’t slide out at all.

Lake Louise is like a fairy tale come true! The water is so blue, surrounded by big mountains—it's like a picture from a storybook.
We walked around the lake, and the views were amazing! There's a fancy hotel right by the water that looks really cool. We went on hikes and saw nature all around us. Sometimes we even saw animals!
Even though lots of people go there, it still feels peaceful. We tried canoeing, had a picnic, and just sat and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
If you love nature and quiet places, you should definitely go to Lake Louise. It's a magical spot where you'll make memories that stay with you.

It should be marked as hard hike, eventhough it's only 1.5 km, it's a pretty steep hike. But the view on a little sunny day is beautiful, although the best views of the lake louise is always down, the mountains and the glacier and lake cannoy,be beaten.

Well, Overrated for sure. The hike is moderate for people who are used to hiking, difficult fir everyone else. The view is what you see in the pictures. Sure, nice but Nothing else for the effort and expense. Not the prettiest lake in Jasper or Banff National Park. Still, a nice place to visit but, don't do the hike just because of FOMO. The path is on a slope, so it's quite hard, but it doesn't take very long - no more than 20/30 minutes.

Lake louis is must visit location off the Canadian highway one 1 HR drive from banff. Crystal clear waters of the lake surrounded by good six glaciers which have a cinematic postcard view is stunning. Enjoy a walk along the lake shores. Plenty of parking after 7pm only &parking is free after that.
Bow Lake is a popular spot for trout fishing. To reach the lake, hikers take a scenic route through mountain meadows and rocky ridges before camping near the water. The hike to Helen Lake is also worth doing, as it takes hikers through one of the best alpine meadows in the Canadian Rockies and offers stunning views to the south of Mount Hector.
Helen Lake is a great hike. We were at the parking lot early to avoid the crowds later in the morning. Most of the altitude gain is in the first half of the hike to the lake. The scenery is beautiful and varied - a very enjoyable outing!

There were a lot of people coming down so there was activity. The flowers on the meadow and hillsides up higher were amazing. Bow Lake, the most picturesque lake in Banff National Park, is located along Icefield Parkway at an altitude of 1920 m. It is surrounded by majestic mountains and is fed by crystal clear water from melted glaciers.
It is beautiful at any time of the year. In summer, the shores of the lake are painted with alpine flowers. In autumn, it is decorated with golden-red foliage of bushes. A soft blanket of snow covers the shores in winter. And spring awakens life and brings new freshness.

A Must-Visit Lake on Your Way to Jasper!
If you're driving through the Banff/Jasper Icefield Parkway, be sure to make a quick stop at this spectacular Bow Lake. It's an absolute gem that you won't want to miss! The views of the mountains and glaciers are truly stunning, creating a beautiful backdrop for your photographs.
Finding a parking spot near the lake and lookout point is easy, so you can conveniently explore this breathtaking location. The lake itself is incredibly beautiful, with crystal-clear water and majestic mountains surrounding it. You'll have plenty of parking spaces available, and you'll also find garbage cans to help keep the area clean.
While there are no washrooms available, don't worry! It's still quite easy to reach the lake, and the experience will be well worth it. There are two viewpoints where you can admire the incredible scenery and capture amazing pictures.

We had the privilege of visiting Bow Lake during our trip to Banff, and it left an impression on me. This pristine alpine lake is nothing short of breathtaking and quickly became one of my favorite stops in the Canadian Rockies.
The turquoise waters of Bow Lake are nestled amidst the towering peaks of the Rockies, and the sight is simply awe-inspiring. The clarity of the water and the reflection of the surrounding mountains create a picture-perfect scene that's ideal for photography enthusiasts.
One of the highlights of my visit was the easy access to the shoreline, allowing me to soak in the serenity of the area. I took a leisurely walk along the lake's edge, and the tranquility was almost surreal. It's a place where you can truly connect with nature.
For those looking to get even closer to the lake, there's a lovely bridge that provides a captivating view of Bow Lake. The emerald hue of the water, and the rugged mountain backdrop combine to make this spot a photographer's dream.
In conclusion, Bow Lake in Banff is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and anyone seeking the true essence of the Canadian Rockies. Its beauty is unparalleled, and the experience is unforgettable. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I'll cherish the memories of my visit for years to come.

Beautiful lake and an amazing hike to a waterfall. Small parking that spills over to the street leading up to the lodge. Bathrooms are decent park bathrooms.
Access to the falls is only possible during the summer months due to road closure. The scenery is spectacular and can be seen from either the viewpoints close to the falls or from a hike up the valley.
2nd highest waterfall in Canada. Located in Yoho national park,BC. Gorgeous waterfall with breathtaking view. A short and easy trek from the parking lot to the waterfall.Little bit windy and cold near the waterfall. Definitely must go place to visit if you are planning to visit emerald lake.

Great stop in the Yoho National Park. Great drive in and out. Nice short walk from the parking lot to the falls. Superb photo opportunities. Was not crowded at all when we went. If your are in the Banff area strongly recommend stopping by here - and also claiming yet another national park in your visited list! While in Yoho - also check out Emerald Lake.

A very powerful waterfall, very impressive, you can already see it from a distance from the road. As you get closer, a cold spray of water is felt. I climbed up the mountain and tried to get closer to the waterfall. A special experience for nature lovers.

Wow! This fall has POWER! couldn’t get anywhere near the base of the fall due to the intense winds it generates, but easily one of the best falls I visited on the west coast.
Make sure you have a confident driver navigating, as there are many hairpin turns leading up to the parking lot.

Impressive waterfall, which can be viewed really up close. Access is fairly easy through a well maintained walking trail.

This place is a hidden gem! I was able to go on a weekday and there was plenty of parking. Walking up on the rocks a little towards the waterfall I was able to clearly feel the mist that it created around me. Such a beautiful place for little walking effort. Bring a sweater if you plan on getting close to the waterfalls as it's quite cool the closer you get to the water!

Easy to find parking. Hike was very short and it was concrete. No up or down hill. Absolutely beautiful fall. White water, lot of force. One of the quick hike. Drive to this place was beautiful.

Cascading from a breathtaking height of 302 meters, this stunning waterfall .you can hear thunderous roar of the water as it plummets into the Valley .Takakkaw Falls provides an excellent opportunity for a family adventure, complete with hiking trails that lead to captivating viewpoints, allowing you to bask in the misty embrace of the falls. a must-visit destination for cherished memories

Breathtaking view. A short hike from the parking lot going to the falls.:) Would be a challenging one if you want to climb the top (it’s doable);)
My family enjoyed the scenery and ambiance. Indeed one of the tallest and powerful falls in Canada.

Well worth visiting. The drive is beautiful (especially with autumn colors), as are the falls. Parking lot was small, but ample on an early October weekday afternoon. Falls are visible from the road, but you'll want to get closer. Short walk from the lot to the footbridge that starts the approach to the falls, but if you walk uphill past the bridge, there are the 2 red chairs for photos. Once you cross the footbridge, the trail is flat and easy to follow until you're practically at the base of the falls.

Breathtaking falls. I drove a little far from highway to the falls and lucky got the parking lot. The drive way is a little dangerous. Falls is truly amazing if you can walk closer to the rock under it. Get too close can make you wet.

Very beautiful! The drive up there is filled with wonderful views. There’s lots of tables and benches, great for picnics and various group activities. The pathway is wide and open, parking isn’t too far, my grandparents were able to walk from the car to the falls and they’ve got bad hips and all that. There were outhouses for convenience, not too clean but no outhouse is clean. This is definitely a great site seeing spot!

I really enjoyed walking the path to see Takakkaw Falls! Family and pet friendly! Nice place to stop and have a little picnic. The path is long but easy to navigate. Bring water and wear comfortable shoes! The Falls look different from multiple viewpoints driving in as well as walking right up to them. You can get close enough to feel the waterfalls spray upon you. Fun place to spend an afternoon. Great exercise walking the pathways!

Such a beautiful place. We stopped here on our way to Emerald lake. Parking was limited but we managed to find a spot. There was a lot of people. The falls are a short walk from the parking lot.

This is one of the better surprise finds during the trip in this area. On a whim we decided to check out this falls and wow it's totally worth it.
Parking was relatively easy and free, there's a washroom at the beginning of the trail so use it before you hike. The trail was relatively easy except for the very end where it was steeper and a little rocky, but should be very doable for any able bodied person. The trail took around 20-30 min each way, nothing crazy. You will get slightly wet from the falls mist, so plan accordingly.

What can I say about the most impressive waterfall I have ever seen, one of the highest in Canada.
From the parking lot you can see the immensity, and walking for about 10-15 minutes along a pleasant path and crossing a bridge (very photographable), you reach a dirt road with the waterfall as the summit of the mountain, it is a true spectacle.
I consider it to be an essential part of Yoho Park.
From the fallen fountain, all the surroundings are wet and fine drops fall that after a few minutes end up soaking, if you are wearing a thin raincoat, it would be ideal.
My visit was in August, I don't know the route in winter.

Takakkaw Falls is stunning waterfalls in Yoho National Park, and this natural attraction is well worth the drive to a side road and a short detour from the Trans-Canada Highway. More of a walk on a paved path than a hike. You can climb up the rocks at the end to get closer to the base of the falls if you want (many people do) but you don’t get that much better a view than you do from the end of the path. Spectacular and amazing!
Sharath k — Google review
Amazing waterfall just 15 minutes off the transcanada highway. the waterfall is only a 5 minute walk from the parking lot which has bathrooms, picnic areas, and lots of trails along the river. to get to the waterfall, cross over the pedestrian bridge and head up the path. It's a popular place for tourists and rock climbers but well worth the stop. Rocks are slippery so be careful along the river and at the base of the falls.

The most beautiful waterfall i have ever seen! So happy to be able to see it in real life! Pictures don’t do it justice. Second tallest waterfall in Canada worth the trip to see! So strong and loud, it was such a beautiful site. We went at 8 am not busy at all only 4 other people there i’m assuming by noon it gets busy. There was a few switchbacks to get up the mountain to reach the falls but nothing a small car can’t handle! Beautiful view of the mountains and all around great experience. Would definitely recommend going here if you’re in B.C. worth the trip!! Outhouses there if you need to go to the bathroom.
Peyto Lake, a remarkable waterway nestled in a valley renowned for its vibrant turquoise hue and picturesque allure, stands out as an exceptional feature. Named after the early trail guide and trapper Bill Peyto, this lake is a sight to behold in the Canadian Rockies. Located amidst Caldron Peak, Peyto Peak, and Mount Jimmy Simpson, it serves as a convenient stopover for active travelers journeying from Banff to Yoho National Park.
Stunning Lake!
Peyto Lake is one of the most colourful glacial lakes in the Canadian Rockies. It is located along the Icefields Parkway, Peyto Lake is famous for its brilliant aqua colour which is created by the meltwater from the Wapta Glacier. The lake is surrounded by a forest. You can click some beautiful photos of the lake with a short, easy walk 10-15 mins from the parking lot to the viewing platform. For even better views, you can take a short trail up to Bow Summit for an elevated, less crowded view. Parking is available near the lake but it gets full pretty fast. Visited in July so it was not cold and trail was good too.
A must visit place when visiting Banff and Jasper!!
Highly recommend!!

This was an unplanned stop and my partner and I were pleasantly surprised by both the scenery and how enjoyable the hikes were around the lake. Informative panels talked about the history of the area, the native flora and fauna, and a great viewpoint at the end of the trail produced some great pictures of the unearthly blue waters.
Kurt Thomas Hunt — Google review
One of my favourite stops along the Icefield parkway. The walk is short in distance but has a steep elevation going to the viewpoint. The bright aqua colour lake and mountains behind make this one of the most amazing views in the Banff/Jasper area. The parking lot was empty during a weekday evening visit.

Insanely beautiful. The crowds were not too bad at late morning. The hike up to Bow Summit Lookout is not easy but worth the view. Many hikers spotted bears along this trails so have a bear spray ready and make lots of noise while walking.

Embark on a brief 10-minute trail journey, and you'll arrive at the panoramic viewpoint. The scenery is nothing short of spectacular, featuring azure lakes set against the backdrop of pristine white snow-capped mountains, creating a mesmerizing tableau of natural beauty that can only be described as otherworldly.

Incredibly picturesque viewpoint at the end of a short uphill trek! Beautiful blue waters of Peyto Lake look surreal and is an iconic viewpoint in Alberta. The short but somewhat challenging hike up a narrow trail to the viewpoint dock is definitely worth it for the views and pictures! This spot is generally very crowded and the parking lots will be quite full resulting in multiple drive-arounds to find a vacant space. Check this view out if you’re able!

The beauty of the lake make this place so unreal. This place became one of my most favorite places of all time when i came here. And when the water hits direct sunlight, it becomes so bright and pretty. But you need to have a bit of walking to the Peyto Lake. So if you want to go here make sure you’re ready for the walk. But it’s actual just like 500m long so you dont have really to worry about the walk

I went to Peyto Lake because I could not find a parking spot at Lake Louise and we decided to go for a trip to Jasper and on the way there we saw this beautiful lake just less than an hour from Lake Louise. It took us about half an hour walking up on the pavement to see the view point. It’s built for wheelchairs. Parking is easy to find and it’s not busy at all. The pictures I took are no filter at around 8.45 am.

Short steep hike for about 0.5 miles and the view is mesmerizing! A popular filming location too, colors and the shape is marvelous. No need for hiking shoes since it’s a paved path but it you plan to stroll around, there are rough patches so prepare accordingly.

Unreal and absolutely jaw dropping beautiful.
The lake is an amazing Turquoise Blue color, and is surrounded by amazing mountains.
The lower parking lot is abput 0.6 mile to the viewing deck.
There is an upper parking lot, but that's for public buses, if you come late in the evening, you could park there, when the buses are not running and thats a 5 minute walk to the observation deck.
A must stop if you're on hwy 93 to Jasper.

I recently visited Peyto Lake in Alberta, and I must say, it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. The moment I laid eyes on the lake, I was mesmerized by the incredible color and the stunning view that unfolded before me.
It's as if nature itself decided to paint the waters with the most vivid shades of blue, creating a scene that looks almost surreal. The color is so striking and vibrant that it's hard to believe it's real.

A short but steep hike up a paved pathway to the lake viewpoint is well worth it! The day we visited Peyto Lake was a bit smoky but still beautiful. There are no picnic tables at the viewpoint, just a bench along the pathway.

A very beautiful lake shaped like a dog! Waterfalls can be seen in the distance falling from the glacier and a few streams from there joining the lake. The hike is short but steep and it starts from the parking lot. Went there in the evening and parking was almost empty.

Gorgeous! Various trails and vantage points for all skill levels to view the lake. Peyto is well worth the drive from Banff in and of itself, and there are so many other great stops along the way to enjoy the beautiful scenery I recommend setting aside the half day to explore the area.

Peyto Lake in Banff National Park is a true natural wonder. The first thing that captures your attention is the mesmerizing turquoise hue of the lake, a vivid blue that seems almost unreal and takes your breath away.
The lookout point at Peyto Lake offers a magnificent view of the lake and its surroundings. It's spacious enough to accommodate a good number of visitors, but what truly makes it remarkable is the jaw-dropping panorama it provides. The landscape is a postcard-worthy scene of the Canadian Rockies.
However, it's essential to be aware that the hike to the lookout point involves a significant elevation gain, which can pose a challenge for those with mobility issues. The trail can be steep in sections, so visitors with difficulties in climbing should take that into consideration.
In summary, Peyto Lake is a must-see destination for anyone exploring Banff National Park. The striking turquoise waters and the breathtaking view from the lookout point create an unforgettable experience. Just keep in mind the hiking difficulties for those with limited mobility when planning your visit.

Hike road was concrete and stiff (going uphill). There are some resting spot throughout the hike. No picnic benches available or shaded sitting area. There is overlook view point. Beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. Pictures are not doing justice. Absolutely must! This hike is handicapped accessible path to the end. Hike can be finished in an hour so people are in/out quite often. Loved the hike!

The reality is, Moraine Lake and Lake Louise are flat out crowded and unless you arrive first thing in the morning during peak season, chances are you will not find parking. What I learned is Banff is FULL of glacier fed lakes; you know that special blue water we all crave? Pictures don't even due this lake justice. Word to the wise, Peyto Lake is right off route 93. When you enter the area about 45 KM south of the lake, you will not have cell coverage. Is this really a bad thing though? The main observation deck for me was overwhelming with the casual on looker. But for an unhindered view of the lake, head down the small path to the right of the overlook tower and find you a spot with nobody in your way. Your pictures will be breathtaking. For the real adventurer though, get back in your car and head north on 93 and look out for a small pull off on your left. Head down that trail. You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

We’re so lucky to have such an incredibly curated and locally sourced food store in the valley. I stop here every time I’m going by to stock up on my favourites, like pies, beeswax for candles, mead, specialty sauces and jams, and game jerky. The owners are always helpful and carefully choose everything they sell. To rate this small family business poorly because they don’t provide bathrooms as some sort of public service to the thousands of drivers who pass through this valley while kicking horse canyon is closed for construction is unfortunate at best and grossly entitled at worst. There’s provincial rest stops five mins in either direction.

Delightful products with an active beehive and shop dog. That was the only thing that felt welcoming here. From the moment we went inside we felt like an inconvenience and a bother.
I asked politely if I could fill up my water bottle after making my purchase and was told yes. After getting my bottle from my bike I came back in to be told to take the bottles outside; no outside containers allowed.

Not family friendly as per the gentleman behind the counter they are an “adult gourmet store” as such we took our young children outside to wait for other members of our family. Emerald Lake, situated in Yoho National Park and less than 20 minutes away from Lake Louise, is renowned for its clear, green-hued waters. The lake gets its unique blue-green color from the reflection of light off white marl deposits derived from limestone erosion during the last ice age. Enclosed by mountains such as Mount Burgess and Wapta Mountain, Emerald Lake offers a tranquil and secluded atmosphere compared to its well-known neighbor.
A must see lake, we visited lots of times

Otherwise it's accessible to get to the bridge to view the natural bridge. Strong water currents here and a beautiful mineral blue.

We have driven by the natural bridge sign on the highway for years. We stopped this year on our way to emerald lake. What a beautiful scene. Would recommend to stop on the way to emerald lake. Would have loved to walk around more as it looks like there would be some good picnic spots. Not sure if I would seek out this stop specifically but it’s a good take to take a break or stop on our way up the mountain.

Natural Bridge is definitely a cool spot to check out. I only wish they had left it more “natural” and not added so many concrete walkways. There is an incredible waterfall with turquoise coloured glacial water. We found this place by accident but I’m glad we stopped! I Highly recommend checking it out. The parking lot is a good size but I bet it gets super busy in the summer so you may want to arrive early.

Beautiful views of the natural bridge and easy hiking trail to where the three rivers converge. It was impressive to see the different colors of the rivers meeting and flowing together.

Beautiful views and natural rock formations. The water is the same blue as most lakes along the Icefields Parkway. Definitely worth the slight detour.

I loved this water falls( a lot of water flowing) and the natural landscaping. I couldn’t get enough of the views.

If you are on your way to visit Emerald lake, make a quick stop here. You won't be disappointed of the little wonders that nature creates. We visited in september 2022 and parking was available.

This location is close by and on the way to Lake Emerald. The water is insanely blue. The nature is amazing and beautiful. I wish there was sunlight during my visit and less cloudy.

The natural bridge is nice. But walk down along the river. There is a small trail. You will find a sensational waterfall and from water washed stones. Be careful. Slippery and the water goes quick down. Quite a deep canyon

This park is located in the Canadian Rockies and is known for its stunning mountain ranges, waterfalls, and wildlife. The park is a great place to hike or train and has a variety of ecosystems that contain a variety of animals.
Yoho National Park is like a paradise on earth. It has lots of hidden gems like the Natural Bridge, Lake Emerald etc. The sceneries are breathtakingly gorgeous. Not many people visit the Natural Bridge so it's very calming and relaxing. Lake Emerald is so beautiful with its turquoise-colored water. Yoho is a must visit.

The most instagrammed location in Canada. Stunning scenery. Advise for moraine lake you need to use shuttle bus service. You won’t get parked. Car park fills up at 2 am for the sunrise.

We went here last October 2023 and it wasn’t that crowded. The weather that time was cold but bearable. Although I saw some people swam in the lake!! Not sure if the water was cold too 🤣
Now I know why a lot of people are in awe of this place. No words can express how beautiful this place is!! A paradise indeed. Please add this to your bucket list!!

Absolutely beautiful! The size of the falls and mountains are breathtaking. Careful if you climb up top, rocks fall down quite often*
The water is cold and fresh, fill up your bottle at the bottom.

September 2022. Yoho National park was incredible, I got to hike several amazing trails such as the hike to Takakkaw falls (very easy) and the hike to Wapta Falls (moderate). Both were great. Emerald lake was also very picturesque, although parking is limited so you will probably end up parking far down the street it’s totally worth it. I managed to get a campsite at Takakkaw falls by showing up early, it’s about a 500 meter walk to get in though from the parking lot it was nice n quiet. I was also very lucky and got a last minute opportunity to go to Lake O Hara, I hiked the full Alpine circuit up there took me almost the whole day one of the most difficult trails iv hiked and maybe the most spectacular hikes iv ever done, the park offers a lot of great hikes and views it was a little smoky when I went maybe because of wildfires up north, even so this was one of the nicest areas i visited in Canada. its just as good as the nearby Jasper and Banff National Parks if not better imo, would highly recommend.

What a turquoise colour lake! A breathtaking view of the lake and view of the mountains. It is easy to hike around the lake. Emerald Lake is located in Yoho National Park. It takes half hour driving from Lake Louise AB to Emerald Lake BC
Really beautiful waterfall.
The hike is easy, just the last meters are quite steep. Down at the waterfall the stones you walk on could be also wet. Mind your steps!
In the summer/autumn saison there is the possibility to get to on of the islands in front to take amazing photos.

It’s a 2.4 km hike one way but very rewarding. Lots of mosquitoes so bring bug spray. You can actually go up to the island when there’s not much water on the falls. A must visit when going to Golden.

Beautiful hike. We found the trail quite easy. Did it with our 6 and 8 year old. Felt good to go close to the falls on a hot day.

Wonderful fall. 2.5 km one way trail with incline and decline of off road however it was worth the hard work, you got the best view of waterfalls 3 times from front view, top view, side view… Please take clothes and towels with you if you want to have a fun under the fall.
Divyesh Savani — Google review
Do maps here instead of “wapta falls” to get to the correct location. Parking here is small but free.
This was an easy 2km walk to reach the top of the falls before you can take a short descent down to the base of the waterfalls. Very beautiful and an adventurous time!
So bring bug spray / mosquito repellent as there are quite a few mosquitoes at the start of the trail.

Awesome place to visit. Up a long off road track but easily drivable. Toilets in the carpark. About a half a hour walk to the falls. You can walk down the the bottom but we just stopped at the two viewing points.

The World’s Largest Paddle is a unique stopping point in the Columbia Valley along the highway between Radium and Golden, BC. It is a free attraction with a little pond and information board about the genesis of the paddle and its certification as the world’s largest paddle.
There are a couple picnic tables, so one could easily enjoy a picnic here with the surrounding mountains offering stellar scenery to look at.
The paddle is also part of a larger property that has a nature walk, canoe rentals, and more. We didn’t have the time to, but we would love to try canoeing down the Columbia River some day.
Overall this is a neat little stop off the side of the highway and a neat item to check off on your “World’s Largest” item list.

The Kicking Horse River is a stunning waterway that boasts various rapids ranging from category C to V. This river is a hidden gem in Yoho National Park and offers visitors an opportunity to experience the great outdoors. The river is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and features several notable attractions such as Takakkaw Falls, Wapta Falls, Emerald Lake, and more. White water rafting on this river is a must-try for anyone who loves being near or on the water.
Was supposed to visit Takakaw Falls but it was closed due to maintenance (October 2023) We went on a detour instead and found this gem near the area! We went down so we can see the closer view of the river and it was amazing. Mother nature is beautiful indeed.
P.S. parking is free and a bit spacious. Just be careful when you go down the river and climbing back up to the parking.

Kicking Horse River flows across Yoho NP from Wapta Lake to Golden, and runs alongside the TCH. It’s a turbulent river with the local greenish cast from the rock flour dissolved in it. Its very popular with river rafting trips and kayakers with both Class 3-4, and 5-6 rapids. It’s also the home of three waterfalls: the Kicking Horse Cascade, the Natural Bridge Falls, and the largest, the 100-foot Wapta Falls. There is a hike back to reach this waterfall. The hike back to these falls was too much for us, but I would have liked to have seen it. Fishing is also popular.
We just liked watching it boil and foam as we drove beside it and saw it again at the Natural Bridge.

The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge is an architectural masterpiece that effortlessly blends beauty, function, and nature. Spanning the mighty Kicking Horse River, the bridge's striking silhouette stands tall, seemingly suspended in mid-air, connecting two sides of Golden. Its sleek lines and graceful curves evoke a sense of elegance, while its sturdy construction inspires confidence in its safety.

It was extremely difficult to access this bridge via Apple Car Play - the road recommended is under construction and inaccessible to vehicles. Known as the longest free standing timber frame bridge in Canada. The name tells you the hard work the man placed in for it to be shared and to enjoy. Experience the diverse wildlife at Rocky Mountain Buffalo Ranch and explore Yoho National Park's natural wonders such as Emerald Lake, Takkakaw Falls, and Kicking Horse River's natural bridge. Avoid tenting in the rain by opting for one of the rustic cabins like The Bunkhouse which offers surprisingly comfortable beds and layers upon layers of blankets to keep you cozy during chilly autumn nights.
Stayed on this ranch when we were in the Canadian Rockies three years ago. Leo was very entertaining and accommodating, I truly enjoyed our stay here for seven (7) days . The hot tub was my most favorite part and the scenery of the mountains made our trip complete. I would surely come back again when the right time comes!

I stopped in for a tour the day before I left to come back to Saskatchewan. I was looking for something magical… Something that would stand out on my trip to Golden. I felt very drawn to this, and it was completely magical! If your in Golden in the Summer months to early fall stop here and get a tour! Leo is fantastic and I won’t forget the stories and details of the Buffalo that he shared. Leo is a beautiful soul and the experience you have if you choose to take it all in will feel like you just arrived even though a few hours have passed. I felt like hugging him! Completely warm experience. Thankyou Leo your awesome & so much love to you!! If I’m in Golden in the future I’m coming back to stay in one of the rentals!! 🙏💫

If you want a romantic getaway that's off the grid I highly recommend this place. The cabin was very clean and the wood stove kept us warm all night! I got to pet the animals and hike nearby trails. Leo was so friendly and let us get close up views of the buffalos. I am definitely coming back here every year!

Visited on June 3, 2023 for a Bison tour. Amazing place, totally worth visiting. There were 19 bisons, including 5 calves, and Leo, the owner, knows everything about them. He gave us a wonderful tour, we could see these huge animals from very close. Most of the reviews here are quite old so I want to confirm this place is still in business and welcoming visitors

What a great place to be. Leo, the host, gave us a really good experience with the Buffalo Tour. He has so many stories to tell you and much insight of these great animals. Worth every dime. Great for families too. We will surely come back for a stay in one of the lovely cabins. Such a quiet powerful place which makes you think what’s really important in this world. Thanks again Leo! ❤️🫶🏻

We lucked out and scored a last-minute booking to avoid tenting in the rain. The Bunkhouse (the most rustic cabin on the ranch) proved to be a great alternative with a surprisingly comfortable bed and layers upon layers of blankets perfect for snuggling to stave off the chill of a sudden cold snap at the onset of autumn. While the open-air setup and lack of conventional toilets or running water could be a tad “too primitive” for some, it has the potential to be a great stay for anyone willing to give up a few creature comforts for a unique experience.

Airbnb Stay:
This stay exceeded all expectations, it is 110% worth it. We got engaged a few days before our stay, and our time on the ranch added a magical touch to our trip. We stayed in the Sauna Cabin, which instantly felt like a home away from home. Even though we arrived late at night, it was easy to find the property. Being surrounded by nature (on a BUFFALO ranch!!!) was a unique experience allowing us to properly recharge. If you are on the fence about staying here, take the leap and book it - DO IT! The area is wonderful, serene and recharging. Chester Jr and the herd added an extra layer of charm to the experience.
Buffalo Tour:
If you want to inquire more about the Buffalos and hear adventurous stories, the Buffalo Tours is a must! You will not be disappointed, you will leave knowing more about the owner but also the Buffalo herd and its history. You might also learn how to do a bow drill fire!!!! If you enjoy the tour and want to keep a memory that will ignite your adventurous side and make you feel like you are sitting at a camp fire with Leo sharing his stories, I suggest you snag a copy of his book.

We went for the daily tour at 10:15. Unfortunately the owner and guide Leo was sick but one of the hired hands gave the tour and he did a great job even though he had only been there a couple months. Really cool to see all the buffalo as we are from Nova Scotia and don’t have those animals back home. The kids said that it was cool to go there.

We stayed here a few years ago on a tour of the Rockies, and spent two nights in the "sauna" cabin. It was a tremendous experience, especially cooking breakfast on the old cast-iron "rancher" stove. If you are in the area, try to call in at the Burgess Shale Geoscience Foundation which is about 10 miles away, in the town of "Field" - it's where the oldest geological deposits ever discovered on Earth can be found.

We stayed in the Sauna Cabin for 8 incredibly cozy days in January and it was an experience we will never forget.
No electricity in the cabin, just a fireplace in the sauna for heating, a smartly built kitchen with enough utensils to prepare lovely meals, phenomenal mountain view, lots of snow and -4 degrees Fahrenheit/-20 degrees Celsius.
It was the perfect mixture for a quiet, peaceful, „back to basic“ stay, that opened our eyes in many ways and will forever stay in our memories as one of our all-time highlights on our world trip.
We would LOVE to come here again and miss this place so much!

Extremely unique experience and a great place to stay where you will feel truly connected to the land.

Wow!! What a tour! Leo is the best. He took the time to explain all about the buffalo's and other animals he's worked with. He is very friendly and patient. You can truly tell he loves all the animals on the ranch. The Buffalo's are majestic and they get close to the fence so you get a pretty good look at them, about 5 feet away. Leo gets in with them which is wild! I highly recommend this tour, the price is not expensive and it will be worth it. Next time I'm in this area I'm definitely staying on the ranch. My entire family cannot stop talking about it.
I just had the pleasure to take a trip to beautiful Golden BC and visit the Northern Lights Wolf Center. The staff were friendly and answered all my questions (no matter how silly) I was lucky enough to go on a Wolf Walk with the lovely Flora (wolf) I got to see her walking around off leash in a natural environment. Lots of great photo opportunities and got to pose with her in a few! The ladies hosting the walk were fantastic and knew their stuff when it came to the wolf pack. I can definitely say I will be back to see the pack again!

Unfortunately was not up to our expectations. (Kids were so excited!) We were too early and waited in the area around one hour as the centre opens at 12pm. After paying entry fees (Cash only, so we used the ATM inside the centre) entered the centre. There were few wolves in separate fenced areas. You can watch them through the fence nets. That’s pretty much when in comes to viewing and interactions. Then there was a narrative done by a staff member which lasted for maybe 15 minutes which was informative. Not even one animal was taken out of the cages at least during the narrative. Not the money we spent but the time we spent was not worth it! Just our experience.

Thought i’d bring my son to learn more about wolves today; instead I was shocked at the conditions it is like a run down zoo. The wolves look terrible.,The website says not to call to book ahead as they run tours daily every 30 minutes. We arrived just after 1pm and missed that one so decided to wait for the 130pm ( there was no tour at 130pm) I tried to find an employee to ask and I was told they were short staffed and not planning on running another tour until 230pm. I had already paid for my son and I - we dove1.5 hours from Radium to visit and we already did a self guided tour but we were curious where these wolves came from? As well as other questions-The one employee who said no more tours until 2:30pm then said hesitantly that she will answer any questions that I had and then went on a rant about the mistreatment of wolves in the wild because the government allows them to get hunted. This place is a run down shanty and the wolves are very sad looking and dirty. Don’t support this place. They also have blasted on their website that no dogs are allowed- but they have dogs running the property freely barking and annoying/teasing the wolves. ( the dogs run free the wolves do not). Horrible experience I wish there was 0 stars to give.,

Great place to learn about the importance of wolves in our ecosystem. The staff (partially volunteer run) talks about the situation between Yellowstone National Park and Canada, when some wolves were borrowed in order to up the wolf population. Lots of other important things covered. Saw a few wolves behind very tall fences. You can stay for as long as you want. The talk is about 20 minutes and you can sit on wooden benches during it. There is also a little gift shop. Tickets were about $12 each, cash only. Not a lot of parking, maybe 8 spots.

What an amazing experience! All the wolves even started howling while we were there. Be aware that this is a conservation facility and not a zoo, so it is a teaching and an awareness moment when visiting and ot for entertainment. The staff were so friendly and helpful and you can see they deeply care for the animals. The gift shop also has a great selection. They don't have card facilities, so remember to take cash. Luckily, they also have an on-site ATM.

We were a bit hesitant on visiting this place for a couple of reasons. 1 we had found the area super expensive and a bit of a tourist fleecing trap. 2 some of the reviews are pretty negative. With that in mind, as it was literally ten mins drive from where we were staying, and we are animal lovers we gave it a try.
It’s a relatively little site easy to find on Google Maps and sufficient parking. Cost is cheap and was paid, you can go in and wonder around. There are a bunch of info boards around the place as well as some gift shop stuff. And there are a couple of enclosures with the wolves in. All good, we could see the wolves, and they were lovely. If it was just that, you would maybe have said Ok that’s a bit expensive. But they do regular “interpretive talks” where they explain all about the wolves, their impact on the ecosystem etc etc. Our one was carried out by a lady whose name escapes me, however she really nailed it. I have attended hundreds of events where people are talking to a crowd. Be they entertainment events, work events or whatever, I have been to a lot. This lady was hands down the best speaker I have ever seen. First off, she didn’t use a microphone, but was loud enough (without shouting / yelling) that we could all hear. She was expressive with her voice and interactive with the audience of about 30. She knew her stuff and told us a lot of really interesting facts and figures. She talked about the wolves being keystone species, which lines up with information we have read elsewhere. The talk lasted maybe 25 mins, but it was hard to tell as we were thoroughly engaged.
There was no political agenda, no forcing things down our throats and a genuine “Thank you” for attending as it is a big help towards the conservation.
Additionally, although we didn’t do it - you an book to go on a wild walk with some wolves, where they walk free and will come up and around you whilst taking a walk in the forest. Chance to get some great pics I imagine. Might do that in the future if we came back through the area.

If you're driving through staying in Golden or just driving through, this place is a must see. The work they are doing to bring information to the public about these beautiful animals and how endangered they are, is extremely admirable. The staff are very knowledgeable and love what they do. They will be happy to answer any of your questions. When the wolves begin howling and it echoes through the valley, you will be transported to a whole other world. The gift shop is full of amazing items. They rely on donations, so please visit so they can continue to do the incredible work they are doing here.

We are from Alberta and we recently purchased a R.V, before setting out on a big trip we decided to do a trial run and go to the IPE in the BC interior. On the way through Golden we heard about a wolf sanctuary up the road, being the animal lover we are we decided to head up there and take a look. We we got there and stepped through the door we were immediately there treated with disrespect. Us being a family of 3 asked if we could purchase a family pass because it’s cheaper then to buy individually. When we asked the lady at the front counter, we were snarled at by the owner who was restocking the atm that she apparently owns. She refused to cut us the two dollar break because we “didn’t qualify”. I guess to be considered a family you must ONLY have 4 members in it. After we then paid the individual fees, we were allowed in. We were given a paper that had a bunch of information on it and as I was reading it over one of the so-called “facts” caught my eye. It claimed that there has never been a single wolf attack that resulted in a death, a simple goggle search would find out there have been recorded cases of a wolf killing a human. Blatant lies. Looking at other reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who thought the enclosures were very tiny, they couldn’t even run in them. Then the owner comes back out and starts to feed the wolves, one of the newer wolves was very small, he was scared to eat because of the bigger wolves. Her seeing this, she did nothing about this, at least she could have closed the pan so he could actually eat and not be in fear.

We've been there today. Staff was friendly, and was asking to anser questions. the wolves were very interesting and cute. Ticket's cost 15$ each. Which was okay I think. But the area was way smaller than expected, but still beautiful and lovely. The gift shop was nice and they had cool souvenirs, but very pricy.
Overall worth a visit, but it's only 30-60 minutes stay.

In the Canadian Rockies, there's a remarkable sanctuary where wolves, formerly part of the movie industry, find refuge and care. The bond and affection shared between these wolves and the woman who oversees their care, along with her staff, is truly heartwarming to witness. The experience of walking alongside a stunning white (gray) wolf, gradually earning its trust, and ultimately having it comfortable enough to approach you, is both unique and extraordinary. After spending an hour there, I found myself deeply enamored with the wolf and filled with respect for Shely, the nurturing 'mother' of these wolves.

We went to the northern lights wildlife wolf centre to see wolves. We got educated by a young girl who explained a lot of history to us about the wolves and how they impact our ecosystems, how we helped out yellowstone and how our government is killing wolves here in Canada with a harmful poison. Very sad. We were expecting to see the wolves moving around and maybe more wolves but there’s only 6 and we only seen 4. 3 were sleeping while we were there. You could book a tour with the wolf walking with you in the forest for a few hours that’s what we wanted to do originally but you have to book far enough in advance to get a good time slot unfortunately didn’t add up with our trip time so we went to check it out anyways and it was a bit of a let down as most of them were sleeping and couldn’t see them all. Small space can’t walk around the cages coated us 30$ it was nice to see the wolves just would’ve been cooler to see them moving around and if we could walk around more to check them out. Not much to do there.

I highly recommend the photography walk with Flora it’s a truly amazing experience and the scenery is beautiful!! The staff is so nice and you can tell they really care about their wolfs. Was the best part of my Honeymoon!
Thank you❤️

Was expecting a bit larger area (compared to other wildlife and wolf sanctuaries that we had been to). There was only 2 fenced areas that contained wolves, I think we saw 6 wolves total. Price is $15, which goes towards wolf conservation. The tour guide definitely knew what she was talking about, but spoke a little fast. Overall good experience, just a bit underwhelming - but we understand the concept behind the sanctuary.
Michele Gerrard — Google review
This is a walking dog style walk with a single wolf 1-2 hours easy trail at winter. Plus watching other wolves in the cages. A little bit expensive but good for one time.

This was AMAZING! I can't say enough about how incredible the experience is! Shelley (wolf handler and guide) was really friendly, knowledgeable, and (necessarily) strict at the same time - it cannot be said enough - This Is A Wolf You Are Walking With! Safety is her number one concern for both the humans AND the wolf so rules are enforced without negotiation.
Also remember, this may look like a large dog and you may see him/her acting like a large dog but he/she IS NOT a large dog! Just ask what their teeth can crunch through - Shelley knows!
It is a once in a lifetime experience and if you have any love for animals, this is an experience not to be missed!
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a scenic vacation spot that offers a variety of activities such as skiing, biking, and hiking trails. It is situated outside the city of Calgary and takes about three hours to reach. The resort has incredible expert terrain with steeps and hike-to powder runs that are loved by powder hounds. Additionally, foodies can enjoy Canada's highest on-mountain restaurant.
Love this place. We don't ski. However, we took the gondola ride twice. The view is beautiful from the top. there is a restaurant on the top but unfortunately, it is close to the public for a wedding. Still, we enjoyed the view. The gondola ride cost half price after 2.30 pm for the rest of the day. It's about a 20min ride on one side where you can watch people ski and maybe be able to see the grizzly bear boo located on the mountain.

Great experience! We were able to purchase tickets for the RAP (Ranger Assist Program) and it was well worth it. We were lucky and got to see Boo the Bear lots as he was very active near the fence line.
Very fun time and the kids enjoyed it too.
Michael Krochter — Google review
Amazing hill with a diversity of runs for everyone from beginner to expert. Lower mountain lifts are family/beginner friendly and have shorter lines. Upper mountain and gondola provide a mix of intermediate to advance/expert runs. A hill worth visiting! If you are there in the spring you may even see Boo the bear!

First class resort.
Many posh Chalet's to rent.
Ski area is made up of mostly expert terrain.
Excellent snow conditions
Mild temperatures, clear skies, calm winds
Friendly and efficient guest services personnel
Friendly and efficient hospitality personnel
Snowmobile rentals and tours
Nordic trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. There is a separate lodge.
Gondola services mountain top restaurant. Sight seers are welcome. And there is sight seers passes available at guest services.
Less expensive ski pass options. Half day at 12:30 to 3:30, and a one chair lift pass that gives you access to all of the novice and intermediate terrain.
I was completely blown away by this resort. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Probably Canada's steepest and most challenging resort! A real treat for "expert" skiers, however, I wouldn't recommend for beginners. Snow is plentiful and powder can be found for weeks on end!

we had the best morning taking part in the ranger experience with Boo! Our guide was super informative and so nice. she was more than happy to answer all questions and it looks like Boo has an amazing set up here, everyone truly cares about his well-being, he definitely has a great life here. After this, we took the gondola up the mountain and did some hiking, stunning trails, could maybe be better sign posted but we managed. Insane views and all staff were wonderful throughout the resort.
Sophie Patterson — Google review
Love this place. If you're traveling with people that don't ski or board this resort allows people to ride to the top of the gondola and enjoy the breath-taking views and enjoy a stop at the dining restaurant at the top. Then the gondola will take you back down. The views while on the gondola are amazing. See things from a view you wouldn't normally see.

I absolutely loved this resort. I came at the end of march which was a bit icy because the sun melts the snow during the day and it freezes at night. Had to wait for a lot of runs to warm up in the sun before they were doable. I will definitely come back next year in January when the snow is prime. Can't wait. Make sure you check out boo the resident bear while you're there!
Sam Lippincott — Google review
We got trapped in Golden coming from Banff due to avalanche mitigation further up the pass. We thought it was the perfect opportunity to check out kicking horse! We got the lift ticket that allows you to use the smaller lift only and it was great! We didn’t have to pay for the full pass but still got the opportunity to ski some beautiful terrain! We were also impressed by the friendliness of the staff in the ticket booth as well as all the places in the village. Would love to come back and explore more of the resort! Overall we loved it!

We did the Via Ferrata Ascension tour and it was so fun! Great intro to outdoor climbing if you've never done it before because it's so safe and easy to use the bars and steps here. Lenka was our guide and she was wonderful. Super patient, knowledgeable, friendly and encouraging, especially for those who are initially nervous. She also took wonderful photos for us which was so appreciated. I'd highly recommend doing at least one of the tours but definitely the ascension one! There's a fun suspension bridge, ropes, ladders, vertical climbs and even a tightrope portion. You'll be so glad you did it!

Amazing hikes at the summit.

Great resort to stop by for a trip. I went in the summer and they had tons of activities to do. Well maintained and challenging mountain biking trail, hiking trails, grizzly bear, cable car and a via ferrata. I didn’t get a chance to go mountain biking while I was there but I could tell from the cable car that it would have been worth it if I had the time. I did have the chance to do the via ferrata which was fun and provided beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

I had the fortune to photograph a wedding up the mountain at the resort and I was completely blown away. Such an incredible venue with mind-blowing views. I had snowboarded there many times in the winter and I thought it was just as spectacular in the summer. The staff was amazing and kind and the ceremony was on the terrace overlooking the peaks. Just WOW!

Arrived just after lunch & lineup seemed long but was quick. Everyone had a great day. Black diamond runs & sun shiny blue bird day. One person fell but the ski patrol took care of them. All in all, great time had.

Unbelievable snow conditions when we went. Great mountain for skiing. My personal favorite was the Fuez Bowl. There were a few flatter spots at the bottoms of the bowl, so snowboarders beware.

Always an exciting and fun challenge. The weather conditions were not great this year, but I was still happy to do T1 for the first time. The best run was in Rudi's bowl.
The photo is the view of the hike to T1.
Joseph Deally — Google review
The base simply isn't deep enough yet (Jan 2, 2024), resulting in numerous spots where the snow is brownish. Many of the runs have rocks scattered about. In some places, the tips of pine/spruce trees are scattered almost completely across the run. Unfortunately, they haven't received the snowfall they usually get.
The staff were very polite and helpful!

Chatter Creek Mountain Lodges is a ski resort situated in the heart of massive BC mountains. The resort offers two log-style lodges that feature cozy rooms, a restaurant, sauna and massages. Guests can enjoy fantastic facilities including hot tubs, pool tables, bars and large dining rooms with great food served by attentive friendly staff. The snow cat skiing area is considered the best in the world and the terrain is steep with semi-deep powder.
Top shelf experience through and through.
The hospitality was phenomenal, the room is very comfortable, beautiful lodge, and the meals were spectacular.
Unfortunately, our tour got cancelled due to weather but the team at Chatter handled the situation like pros and we are excited to go back next year.
Somethings like the weather are out of people’s control, but a big thanks to everyone on the Chatter team for making the best out of a tough situation.
Also, rocked the cold plunge in the creek and it was a five star experience!

Aernout van der Gaag — Google review
Chatter canceled my last tour. I think after spending over 50 days and $125,000 at Chatter I deserve a better explanation than “I was observed doing something unsafe”. By far the most dangerous thing I did at Chatter was do an entire run under the snow instead of on top of it. A guide from Wyoming thought the run was unsafe for more than 3 skiers so he followed the lead guides tracks instead of adding to the right as instructed. This action probably prevented him from setting off the big avalanche, although he narrowly escaped from being caught in the avalanche I set off. I think if the guide had pulled us from the hill after setting off a 2 ft deep avalanche, I could have avoided my near-death experience. By chance I avoided the large trees and escaped with only had 3 injuries. Luckily, I was fully buried on the cat track near another guest who was able to free himself and was able to dig me out. The tail guide went off searching for me without organizing a search or knowing if there were 1 or 5 skiers buried. I think if I got hung up ½ way down or there had been multiple full burials someone would have died.

Snow was superb. Steep and semi deep but steep. Save trouble a d rent their powder ski's a d use their ski poles. Avipacks a available for rent.

Roger's Pass is a renowned mountain pass situated in Glacier National Park, crossing the Selkirk Mountains along Trans Canada Highway Number 1. It boasts an elevation of 1,330 meters and features a visitor center that highlights the region's railway and highway history. This scenic drive is incredibly picturesque, offering breathtaking views at every turn. Rogers Pass serves as a gateway to Yoho National Park and is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring the natural beauty of British Columbia in Canada.
This is my quick goto for a hike. Only 1:45 hour(s) away. A few of the favs; Illecillewaet Glacier (bring your crazy carpet), Glacier Crest, Abbott Ridge (Marion Lake), The Hermit basin, Balu Pass, Mt Sir Donald (a scramble, protection necessary). Great memories of watching "Snow Wars" when I was a kid. A few less services available these days; no gas station and no hotel with the restaurant. And sadly they've had the museum closed for nigh on two years now. Attached are recent pics from Balu Pass.

It is located in the heart of Glacier National Park, and is about two hours drive from Revelstoke on the way to Golden, on the Trans-Canada Highway. There are beautiful views of the mountains all around. These mountains are popular for ski mountaineering, camping, hiking and mountain climbing. There is a Visitor Information Center here, which has a good display of stuffed wildlife and information about the history of the Pass. There is a public toilet, but no coffee or snacks shop. It is a calm and scenic place with a good rest area and plenty of parking to stop while driving along the highway.

Very scenic drive through the pass just be aware of sudden weather changes and road conditions due to elevation gain. There are a few Avalanche tunnels as well, and remember no gas station between Revelstoke and Golden

First time stopping here since the new center opened. Huge building just for bathrooms, so clean. The gift shop and museum are in a separate building but neat to look around. Walk around outside to stretch your legs, read the signs, look at the displays, eat and of course just enjoy the views!

Visitor's Center was closed due to COVID but there was a touchscreen outside that had solitaire installed. Cleared a game of classic spider solitaire in about 11 minutes, was quite a bit of fun. Great views too.

This is a great little interpretive/visitor's centre with plenty to see and do. Gorgeous building with some dated, albeit relevant exhibits inside. The theatre was closed when we visited but we took a look inside anyway. Part of the exhibit space was also closed, Theist likely due to Covid-19 and/or staffing. The staff were incredibly friendly and willing to answer questions.
Generous parking, clean washrooms, great rest stop.

Such good hosts, such a good place! Clean bathrooms west of the visitors center keep the historic building calm, and the park staff setting up my overnight permit even loaned a phone (so that I could get my ACC hut reservation number)! Definitely stop here, learn about the railroad, take a walk, etc.

We didn't get a chance to check out the museum, but it definitely looked neat from afar. The small gift shop was also cool to look throughout. However, there were not many small souvenirs specifically for Glacier National Park when we went by. Their bathrooms are the best we stopped at, with the clean, themed decor and ambient birds chirping, though!

Nice assortment of souvenir patches and cards as well.
Bathrooms and plenty of party.

Nice place to visit and learn some of the history surrounding the area. Great bathroom facility adjacent. Beautiful views of the mountains. The big issues for me regarding the location is the traffic. No one follows the speed limit and if you are heading east toward Golden, exercise extreme care and attention. Crossing the road could be hazardous to your health.

What an unexpectedly great stop this was. The Center is amazing and full of historical artifacts and lots of great information. The Parks Canada staff were incredible and very friendly. Stunning views from the parking lot too. My only regret is that we could not spend more time here as we arrived only 20 minutes before closing. Stop by and learn about the history of Rogers Pass and the surrounding area!

I'm biased, as I think Hydro Dams are really cool. But it's a great stop for the whole family. Very informative and interactive guided tour. 6 dollars per adult is one of the more reasonable admission prices you'll come across. As well as a very decently priced gift shop. Thanks BC Hydro!

We visited the dam and visitor center a few days ago when we were visiting Revelstoke. While there we joined a free tour of the facilities. If you're in the area, I highly recommend visiting it and joining one of the free tours.

Popular science green energy is very good, and it also gives children some basic knowledge of electricity. The construction process of the whole dam is introduced. The last visit was to the top of the dam.You can overlook the panoramic view of the valley and the power station. The wide flood discharge can take off and land.Very worthwhile. The introduction of hydropower resources in North America is also very detailed. The tour ends with an elevator ride to the top of the dam. It has a panoramic view of the valley and the transmission substation. The wide spillway can take off and land aircraft. It is well worth a visit.

$8 per person, $7 for kids. Very clean and informative the reason it gets 4 stars is because of the elevator that takes you up to the viewing deck. It’s extremely slow and you have to wait a long time for your turn. It’s also shared with the workers.

Very impressive project. Recommend going with the dam tour as it’s very informative but staying behind when the group has left the viewing area at the top of the dam.
Going down the “very slow elevation” and waking through the cold tunnel along, you will hear and feel the vibrations of this great concrete structure.

It looked interesting enough for a stop until we read the sign at the door advising us that this place "required donations which is like tipping and not tipping is UNACCEPTABLE in this country" . The capital letters are quoted, not my own emphasis. First of all, the best way to encourage someone to turn around and leave is to berate them before they even enter. Keep your air conditioned junk pile, it's not worth the trouble. Secondly, tipping is a custom that revolves around a certain level of service, I've never seen a sign like that outside of a restaurant and yet I tip every time.
You should reconsider your approach to welcoming guests, it's pretty pathetic - that's my tip to you.
