The park is home to towering mountain peaks, crystal-clear lakes, and miles of hiking trails that allow visitors to get closer to hundreds of wildlife species. The park was christened the 10th national park in 1910 and is located in Northwestern Montana in the Rocky Mountains.
What a majestic place!
We spent 7 days in this wonderful national park and we enjoyed every single minute. Going to the sun road is amazing and very reminiscent of Switzerland. The campgrounds are full in August and make sure you reserve you camping spot several months before your trip. I saw multiple cars driving around looking for a camping spot with no luck. If you love hiking, Highline trail is beautiful for sight seeing and observing the wild animals. The hike can take 10-12 hrs depending on how fast you are and on the hike conditions. We did in August and some spots had snow on the ground due to recent snow storm. Also, you can park the car at the end of the trail and take the shuttle to Logan pass and start the hike there. Make sure you check the shuttle hours since they vary. In addition, keep in mind that going to the sun road is closed from September til early June. My favorite part of the park is the Many Glacier side and we stayed at the Swiss Lodge which is worth to stay at least one night if they have availability. There is another gorgeous hike from many lake to the glacier but you need to take the boat pass or wake up earlier and hike two lake before you get to real hike.

This has to be one of the best national parks EVER. There is so much to do, with over a hundred miles of glaciers, waterfalls and more. The campgrounds are very shaded and are VERY popular so book your site in advance! No matter where you stay or what you do Glacier National Park, it is breathtaking for all.

Glacier is truly the best national park in the country, hands down. The beauty and wildlife speaks for itself, I’ll let the photos do that job. But what Glacier does best is traffic maintenance. They do a phenomenal job managing the reservation and permit process in order to keep the beautiful landscape pristine and free of crowds. I know people get frustrated with the reservation competitiveness, but it’s a necessity for a park this popular, and they really do it better than anyone else. It’s fair and accessible and easy to do if you know what you’re doing. We never had issues getting campsites or vehicle reservations and we went in peak season.
This place is massive and you could spend a lifetime exploring it. We spent a week in east glacier and a few days in west. East is better by far. Better hikes and scenery, more wildlife, and no crowds. But the amenities of of the west were nice. Grinnell Glacier is a must do hike, and you must take a dip in the glacier lake. We will definitely be back.

The 15,000+ reviews speak for themselves. You want to experience this gem of a National park while the glaciers are still here.
Notice that all negative reviews are from visitors who have not spent a minute researching the proper procedure of entering. We have made several cross-country road trips and have entered and exited the park many times without ever having a problem. The National Park Entrance is open 24 hours, all year round, and will give you access to the Going-To-The-Sun Road from the west side. This is one of the most epic routes in the country, so you don’t want to miss this! HOWEVER, you need to book an online reservation to get in, and the slots are open from May 27 to September 11, 2022. This is a simple procedure that is done online. Do this, and you won’t have a problem entering.
The entrance fee is about $35, but we recommend the annual National Park Pass, which is $80, because you can enter unlimited and visit all National Parks. Both are very fair prices for such a unique experience and important place for our environment.
Also, bring water, food/snacks and a sun hat. You can easily forget time and wander the entire day.

First time to Glacier National Park and it won’t be the last! What a beautiful place to see. So many hiking trails, waterfalls, pullover lookouts. Great place to bring a bike. Great place to camp. It’s a bucket list must see for anyone who enjoys the beauty of the planet we live on. Amazing place.

Glacier National Park is absolutely breath taking. If you love nature and hiking, you have to visit this place once in lifetime. It is mainly a hiking park but if you are not a hiker, you can still visit it for a couple of days. Going to the sun road is amazing and you need reservations for it. Even if you don't book it months in advance, they book a few couple of days in advance. You can stay in whitefish and drive to the park if you don't find any accommodations in the park. Whitefish has some good lodging and dining options.
Kaushal Dixit — Google review
Amazing mountains and views and lakes, even though you don’t see a lot of “Glaciers”! You MUST have a vehicle registration to get into the park, in addition to paying to get in! This has to be done on-line the day before, and you are not guaranteed to get one! If you done get one, get to the park well before 6am and the gates are open, and while it’s an early morning for you, it gets you into the park. Once in, go to Logan’s Pass. There are some great hikes from there (hidden valley lake trail) but the parking lots fills up very fast! The Lake McDonald Lodge is cool to stay at, eat, or take a boat ride. Also, boat rides leave out of Sunrise by the St Mary’s visitor center. The visitor centers do not have food. Bring your own food and drinks in a cooler in your car! Consider taking the bus that takes you throughout the park. It’s a hop on, hop off bus and saves you the hassle of parking if it’s crowded!
Go and enjoy the spectacular views!

Pictures don’t do this INCREDIBLE destination justice. It is absolutely breathtaking and unbelievably beautiful! It’s an incredibly special spot for me too as my husband proposed to me at the top!!! We went in mid September and it was the perfect time to go. Be prepared to be in awe with each turn!!!
Ashley Cassan — Google review
This place is amazing, the mountains are unbelievable. Would 100% go here again. On the drive, we saw multiple mountain goats too, so that was really cool. It is additionally very fun to hike at, and some of the views are just amazing. 5 Stars, would go again.

Wow. Truly breathtaking. My absolutely most favorite park, ever. There are not enough pictures that could describe the beauty this park holds and is. There are so many waterfalls, hiking trails, and gorgeous scenery, that you can spend a week here easily. The west side of the park looks like the pictures, and the east is a bit more dry, but still gorgeous. Very highly recommend. If you don’t want to pay the park fees, you can enter before and after hours as well! (Check their website if they are still doing this) At the top, there is a very popular trail, but the parking lot is very full quickly, so be prepared to go very early or after hours if you want yo get a good parking spot. They do not allow dogs on trails though, so keep that in mind if you travel with yours. Overall amazing park and experience.

The park was incredibly crowded when we visited in mid-July. It was almost impossible to find parking at any location after 8 am. Arrive very early if you want more ease in that respect. We had a little haze from the Canadian fires, but other than that, it was absolutely spectacular!!
Katherine Williams — Google review
Its on the top of the list among the National parks I visited. Grinnell lake overlook is a must must hike, would definitely come back for it.
Other things we did were going-to-sun-road, Avalanche lake hike(trail of ciders), hidden lake hike, motor boat at lake McDonald.
Its a must visit place, with all majestic views everywhere.

One of the top National Parks, absolutely amazing. Beautiful views, scenic vistas, towering peaks, has it all. Road to the sun is a great drive, but do it EARLY! We started at 6am and had no problems finding parking or stopping to take pics. On the way back, by 10am, everything was packed, no parking.
Don't forget the car pass and bring snacks and water!

This is one of the best national parks I have ever been to. It’s so beautiful and the timing was just so perfect as we went during the beginning of fall colors. The snow just started on the mountains, the white mountains, fall colors , water green trees and some bears. Will be back here sometime so that I could see the place more beautifully
Manmith Reddy — Google review
Stunning beautiful mountains and lakes! We were fortunate to be able to take the Going-to-the-Sun-Road which is almost a 50 mile drive each way. It reaches a height of 6646 and is a narrow two lane highway cut on the mountain sides offering panoramic views of the valley below and the jagged opposing mountains shaped by previous glaciation. Every turn seems to offer a must see perspective, so take your time, pull over and take it in.

An absolutely dream come true! I always dreamed of visiting Montana and it did not disappoint. I was shocked at how clean the state was. It was pristine and awe inspiring. Although I am afraid of heights, I trekked up the mountains and was left breathless with wonder at the beauty of the scenery. We have nothing like this back home in Delaware. If not for all my family living on the East Coast, I'd pack my bags and move to Montana in a heartbeat.

Such a diverse NP! Absolutely beautiful! Climate varies at different levels of the park, so be sure to pack a jacket no matter the season!

The park is a huge expanse of protected mountain terrain with a vast network of hiking trails and wildlife. The higher elevation can cause altitude sickness in those not prepared, so it's recommended to spend at least 24-48 hours acclimating before hitting the trails. There are small towns and amazing hikes all around Denver, so find something you're interested in exploring!
This place has views for days! The park rangers are excellent with kids! My daughters became junior rangers by filling out their national park explorer books! They had so much fun! If you see people stopped on the side of the road, look and see if you can see what they see as most people stop for a reason! Will definitely be back!

It's all about mountains!! Breathtaking views and chilly weather almost throughout the year. We experienced snowfall in May last week. Plan your trip ahead and make sure the weather is comfortable to you. Do visit the bear lake and the scenic drive to the top. Watch out for the animals and wildlife.
Nihar Rao — Google review
Love it! Very beautiful sights to see went during the last week of May entering June, there was still snow at the peak of the mountains which was just beautiful! It is a bit cold once your at the peak of the mountain so remember to bring a jacket! Other than that I highly recommend this place to visit when going to Colorado!

We only touched the edges! However, the views were stunning. Fellow hikers were polite and friendly. SO glad we went (I am not a hiker), it was most pleasant with birds, chipmunks, squirrels and deer. It was early August. However, the temps were nice and plenty of shade. Estes Park was beautiful!
Lela Hardison -aka Ms Mac — Google review
Gorgeous park with gorgeous hiking trails. We really got lucky with good weather and smaller crowds when we came in July. Not too much wildlife during the day, but drive slowly in the dark as there are often elk around.
Jacqueline Zwack — Google review
This national park is absolutely stunning! There are so many different epic views throughout the park. If you get lucky you might see some cool animals. We saw many beautiful trees and lakes. I do recommend to find out about the opening hours before you drive up to the park so you won't have to wait in your car for a while.
Also, bring food and water with you, they don't really have anywhere to buy anything once you enter. Go as early as you can.
All in all, it was a great experience.

By far this is one of the best National Parks I have ever explored. The scenic drive is breathtaking! You will see plenty of trails and historic markers throughout this park so make sure to stop and read some and hike some of these beautiful trails. We set up camp in Moraine campground and glad we did. Waking up to the stunning views of the mountains and wildlife was so worth it. This National Park is a MUST!

Yes you should go.
The expanse of it alone is spectacular.
Couple this with inclement weather throughout (late May with some cold at high altitude and some snow) with good trails and road trips and you'll have a good time.
Good signposted viewpoints dotted throughout. Easy drive.
Bear lake area interesting and manageable for most.
Good chance to see wildlife

The Colorado Rocky Mountain trails offer breathtaking vistas, ranging from lush forests to rugged peaks. With trails suitable for all skill levels, hikers can explore alpine lakes, wildflower meadows, and stunning overlooks. The Continental Divide Trail and Colorado Trail are iconic choices, each providing a unique outdoor experience amidst the region's natural beauty.

Breathtaking NP. We visited right after the snowstorm so conditions were a bit rough, however the views were amazing - everything covered in snow. The park has a good sign system, routes are well marked and trails are maintained in great conditions. Big yes!

Fabulous drive on I-70 through the Rocky Mountains. You can ski, hike, camp, fish, to name a few sports. Or just enjoy the spectacular views. I cannot say enough about this National Forest a definite must do if in Colorado. It's so beautiful in winter.

Heaven on earth! I lived in the Denver area for 4 and a half years. Most of that time was during the pandemic, so many of the things to do in the area was closed. Thankfully, the park was not. It provided solitude and peace. Bear Lake is my favorite lake there. It’s handicap accessible, which is a great blessing for people who have mobility challenges, as are many of the lakes and paths around them. I’m so thankful for the preservation of this national treasure. Every time I visited, which was at least every few months during the spring to fall and as soon as the roads were clear to go, I was always in awe! Please remember to drive slowly because of the wildlife. Please keep all trash with you until you can find a trash receptacle or take it out of the park with you. I felt closer to my Creator there at the park than in any building! So grateful for my time there!
Elisha Starner Reynolds — Google review
Visited Late June 2021. One of my top 3 favorite national parks. Alpine Meadows, Aspen Forests, Scenic Lakes. Elk, Bear and Squirrels are also a common sight. I loved this park, just make sure to come early to avoid the crowds.
Michael Wisker — Google review
Bear Creek was beautiful. We did the hike to Nymph lake. It was gorgeous. The walk there is all uphill. There are lots of big boulders to sit on and rest along the way. The trail around the lake was nice to do as well. We saw some deer and some little chipmunk like animals too. Overall in the park we saw several elk at maybe four different locations. The park is absolutely beautiful. Driving up to the Alpine region gives you a completely different experience. I really do not like those restrooms that are not hard plumbed, oh well maybe someday the park will upgrade. That is the only negative thing I can say. I strongly strongly recommend this park. You do have to make reservations for different things so please take care to do that on the website.
Kim Reid — Google review
Majestic views, winding mountain roads, and awesome photos of wildlife! We got all that during our visit. Be aware that if you want to enter the park, they have a timed entry system that you should sign up for in advance. We chose to enter at Fall River and do the steep, winding, dirt road after 2pm. A local guide said the road would take about 2-3 hours. We must have stopped for more wildlife photos than she does because we were above treeline for about 1.5-2 hours! The drive itself took us about 5 hours (yes, we're prairie folk). It was simply so stunningly beautiful that anything less would require ignoring nature's majesty. Be mindful of the altitude! Pack food & water! Pick up after yourself & your pets! Enjoy the views & the journey!
Kathleen Berg — Google review
If you’re near Denver this trip takes about 1 hour 45 min in the winter. There was a $30 entry fee for the car. As soon as we passed the gates we saw a heard of elk in the field next to us. This park has very nice paved roads and trails. The views are beyond stunning, I’ve never seen anything like it. Everything is so massive.

Amidst the winter's icy grip, we ventured forth,
To Rocky Mountains, south to north.
Six feet of snow, a blizzard's fierce blow,
Yet undeterred, we tread where few would go.
Dream Lake beckoned, a vision surreal,
Frozen rivers and lakes beneath our heel.
With boots and gear, we forged ahead,
Amidst the frozen wonders where dreams are fed.
Snowshoes adorned, sticks in hand,
We embarked on Loch Vale, a journey grand.
Nine miles of trail, through snow and storm,
Like characters from legend, our spirits warm.
Through ravines and cliffs, we made our way,
A fellowship united, come what may.
No footprints to guide us, we blazed our own trail,
Pushing our limits, we could not fail.
At journey's end, a frozen lake loomed,
Amidst the fog, our courage consumed.
Yet in that moment, amidst the storm's embrace,
We found solace and peace, in nature's grace.
The Rocky Mountains Park, a memory made,
In the heart of winter, where dreams cascade.
Through snow and storm, we ventured forth,
To find our place, in the park's timeless north.

We were staying right in Denver and we drove here for a day trip. We stopped at silver trailheads and did some hiking. The scenery was absolutely stunning. We saw some birds but that's the only animals we really saw. But anyway and walking out into the scenery like this was very calming. We did have two people that have the senior passes so they got us all in to the park. It was in the beginning of March so it was on the chillier side so we did dress appropriately. We all had hiking boots
Elizabeth Scheuer-Murphy — Google review
Wonderful national park that maintains itself well, and has the traffic and resources to do so. Portions are closed for safety reasons for half the year as the snow is real, but the available places are wonderful, especially February through April. You have to have a pass, from the online registration during the summer months from about May through September, as they only allow so many people in at a time, so it's not overrun with folks.
I like the management. It does make it more difficult to be spontaneous about coming, but I figure it's good management of resources so that there isn't strain on the local wildlife, terrain, and resources.
It's a beautiful park, with hundreds of hiking trails, a snow play area, amazing vistas, and river plains with plenty of elk, deer, moose, and even the occasional bear. Lots of interesting waterways in the spring thaw, and snow snow snow to go with all the gorgeous rocks. There are plenty of pit toilets by all the trailheads, water at the guest centers, and lots of rangers who are cheerfully willing to talk you through a planned hike if you'd like the guidance. DO take advantage of the advice, especially if you plan to go backrange and please get the appropriate passes and ALWAYS carry water at this altitude. And there's a lot of lightening in the afternoons in the summer... so... yeah.
Love this place and we come back to it often enough to have an annual pass.
Liralen Li — Google review
Beautiful scenery. We went without snow shoes or spikes around bear lake and to nymph lake and it was a bit slippery but definitely doable. We enjoyed the beautiful snow and sunshine
Julia Weber — Google review
Never get tired of the beauty this place has. Love coming here. We always get the 7 day pass (it's just $5 more than 1 day pass). We always stop at the visitor center before the entrance to ask questions (find out what roads are closed etc) Ask for a map it is free.
Make sure to get your pass online. There some months in which you have to get a timed reservation to get in (so check website before you go)

I was here at the end of March for 2 days. I’m from Texas and I’ve never seen so much snow in my life!! It was so amazing to be able to hike through the trees and see everything so white and beautiful.
I used AllTrails but the trails in the app are based off non-snow conditions. In the winter you basically just follow the paths that have been cleared.
Special shout out to Ranger Amy Fink, who helped me when my vehicle slid on the ice and got stuck! She was so kind and helpful!

The park is gorgeous. It's located about an hour and a half from Denver. The mountains are rugged and beautiful, particularly the snow caps. The roads are good with plenty of scenic overlooks. Wildlife is abundant. The mule deer aren't skittish at all. Estes Park is neat little town on the edge of the park.

Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site is a former prison turned historical park that offers both self-guided and guided tours of the jail and its premises. The prison once held Butch Cassidy, a notorious criminal who went on to become one of history's greatest robbers. Visitors can explore the main cellblocks where other dangerous outlaws were housed and tour the factory where convicts produced up to 700 brooms daily as part of one of the prison's revenue-generating schemes.
We were visiting and saw this and knew we had to visit! Would have been much more authentic if the cell house was still original, but the recreated cells were done very nicely. Love how our tour guide was very personable and full of knowledge and stories!! The old western buildings outside the prison itself are really neat to stroll thru, and the church is simple but gorgeous. The display inside the larger converted barn house is very well done. Lots of agricultural history in there. Such a cool historical attraction just minutes from downtown Laramie. Well worth stopping!!

This is REALLY cool historic place! They restored it really well with how badly worn down the building was. They had really easy to read brochures to help a person take a quick and easy tour by themselves. They are still adding to the site which is exciting. My young kids really enjoyed coming too.
Emily O — Google review
Interesting museum with lots to see! It's a great value for families as ticket prices are $9/adult and kids are free! The tour is self-guided. At the gift shop, you are given brochure with a map of the prison grounds and details about each building. The main prison is the highlight of the tour with multiple rooms to see: intake, bathing, infirmary, cell blocks, dining hall, etc... There is a special display on Butch Cassidy and a wide array of old-fashioned guns and artifacts. Along the wall, there are mugshots of prisoners with a brief story about each. My kiddos favorite part was going inside a prison cell and climbing into the stage coach outside. There is also the broom factory where many inmates worked. You can see all the equipment they used to make brooms and watch an educational video.
All in all we spent about 90 minutes touring, but it could take longer if you stop to read the information posted near every display. The grounds were clean. The staff was friendly. There was ample parking.

Great small museum, easily see it all in an hour or so. The main prison building has been restored beautifully. Lots of other buildings to look through too.

WOW! This must be the cleanest historic site I’ve seen in Wyoming. I had the privilege to speak to some of the maintenance staff, and boy are they passionate about this job. They put their blood sweat and tears into preserving this historic monument. They certainly do deserve a pizza party!

Fascinating place, full of history! Very well restored and presented for all ages to enjoy. There is a gift shop on site with interesting items. The self guided tour requires about 2 hours, depending on how much time you spend at each exhibit.

This place is amazing and worth the visit. There is a lot to see, so plan on a half day visit to get a lot of it visited. There is lots of photos and reading to get you through, also tour guides.
There is some prisoners mugshots with stories that sucked me into.

Cool structure especially when it is foggy out. You might even see a coyote running around. They love that big patch of land in front of the prison.

This place was amazing! A must-see and explore with the family! We homeschool, and the boys really enjoyed learning about this place. In the summer, they teach u how to make your own broom! So cool. So we definitely will return!

I knew we would enjoy this museum but I was surprised how much there was. Not only do you get to learn about the jail itself, they also talk about how it was used when it was no longer a jail. Like how they did scientific research and even judge sheep competitions.

What a gem of a local museum! There is fascinating history here from the early days of the Wyoming territory and colorful people who spent time in the prison. The staff was very helpful and took the time to share history about Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid. We took our time on the self guided tour option reading many display areas history.

It is a great place to learn about how the process of handling prisoners was done and the day to day operation of the prison. You can read about some well-known people inside these walls.

This is where you have to go when you visit Laramie! A picture into the world of the outlaw of the Territorial West. I especially liked the write ups about the prisoners - both men and women, the crimes they committed, sentencing and tidbits about after being incarcerated. I’d recommend a couple of hours here. The fee is nominal for what you get- warden’s house tour, jail, industry building, mock-up of city and more! We wished we could take a broom home with us on the plane! So cool! (They’re for purchase in the gift shop!) Not a stop for dinner or lunch but they have snacks things and bottled drinks for consumption in the gift shop. Loved touring the archaeological digs inside the jail - seeing the renovations made. Highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite historic sites in Wyoming. I have been visiting since I was a child, take my family now, and have my history students tour for a field trip! As a school group, this has to be the best experience I've had for a historical site. The guides are knowledgeable and very skilled at keeping the attention of students. Also, they have always been fun and tailored the content just right for the age group. When I visited with my family, we loved being able to pace ourselves and explore without feeling rushed. The priority Wyoming has in preserving history and investing in landmarks is evident in the preservation and displays at the prison.
Brittany Hoblit — Google review
The state did a fantastic job rehabilitating the prison to reflect the historical structure, and has added many interesting details based on research of former inmates. It's an awesome time capsule back to the late 1800s and early 1900s in the west. The staff also provides tours that provide a lot of extra interesting details and stories, but they've also done a great job providing enough materials for a person to do a self-guided tour.

If you’re visiting Laramie this should be top on your list of things to do. Fascinating history here. The walking tour is self guided and I enjoyed that. There was quite a bit to see from the prison cells, BREIT factory, wardens home, and building displaying how the university used the grounds.

Great place with a lot of history! The self guided tour is mapped out to where you know where to go next. Wonderful staff too.

Nice, historical spot in Laramie. Offer self guided tours or you can explore with a guide. Lots of history here and the experience is well worth the entrance fee.
Scotts Bluff National Monument, spanning across 3,000 acres, showcases unique rock formations and serves as a historic landmark on the Oregon Trail. The bluff rises 800ft above the flat plains of western Nebraska and still displays wagon ruts from mid-19th century pioneers. Visitors can explore exhibits at the educational visitor center and enjoy various walks or drives up the bluff. Additionally, there is a junior ranger program available for children to learn about pioneer challenges and life.
Beautiful and inspirational. The hike is challenging but worth it! The visitors center is educational, it has a 14 minute video about the site and a small museum.
The junior ranger program was appropriate even for smaller children and our ranger spent time explaining the pioneer challenges and life

We really enjoyed the adventure at this Monument. The hiking was great, views were beautiful! There is a donation box for your visit, no fees. The movie was interesting, also. Park Rangers were friendly! You cannot bring a big RV through and only cars and regular pickups can drive the mountain. It has 3 tunnels.

There is so much to see and explore at this park. Within the park, you can learn the history surrounding this area from the early settlers, the Oregon trail, and enjoy the rock formations as they have been seen by all. Take the short drive to the top and be sure to take the short hikes and enjoy the view.

There is a nice visitor center on site that is very informative. The car ride to the top was beautiful. Be sure to take the paved foot trails up top for spectacular views. We were able to spot Chimney Rock 20 miles away. Admission and parking are free. They close at 5:30pm.

I was really amazed at how wonderful this place is. Far better than I could of imagined. This is the best National Monument I have been too and is really under appreciated. The 1.5 mile drive up to the top has great views and you drive through three carved out tunnels. There is also the option to hike to the top through trail tunnels as well. The trails at he top are accessible and have literally 360 degrees vista views. It has a fairly nice visitor center as well.

This is a place of great importance and also quite well maintained. The staff at the visitor center is very courteous. In the visitor center there is small museum explaining the history of this place and also there is 15 min long movie to watch there. I suggest to watch these at the beginning.
From the visitor center you can drive for 1.5 miles to the top of the monument. At the top you can access North trail (0.2 mile) and south trail (0.5 trail). From the south trail you can access saddle trail (1.6 mile each way, not loop) which I did not take. Views from both the North and South trails are breathtaking.
Once you are there, don't forget to take the old Oregon trail which is right across the visitor center. This trail is just half to 3 quarter mile each way (not loop).

This was such a great stop on our road trip! We learned so much from the museum and the guides. The museum had great hands on activities for kids. The guides were very knowledgeable and answered all questions. It's worth finding out when their programs are and planning your visit accordingly. You can hike or drive to the top depending on your physical needs. Don't forget to use the restrooms at the visitor's center before you hike to the top. No shade so don't forget your hat/sunscreen.

Pretty drive and good scenery. Me and my group were in a bit of a hurry so I didn't get the chance to fully experience it, but I recommend it! The museum had a few good things to read. The drive up and through the tunnels were great fun!
Warning, the red ants are very aggressive and will do everything in their power to bite you and it burns.

A great place with amazing views at the top! Wasn't sure if it would be open on a Sunday, but after checking it was! Came here and not only was the weather beautiful, but it wasn't busy at all, which was a bonus. Definitely head inside first, to get a guide and have a walk around the museum, as it's a fascinating insight into the history of Scott's Bluff and its historical significance. I loved the artefacts they had in the museum, a window into a time long gone by. I definitely enjoyed driving up to the top, to get panoramic views of the landscape below... Wow! There are hiking trails to the top, but it's best to get there early if you want to do that, as I imagine they may take some time. Driving is definitely the quicker way of reaching the top, and so very worth it. The rugged landscape of the South Overlook Trail was beautiful to admire, with a few benches there to kick back and take it all in for a while. So if you're in Nebraska, definitely check out Scott's Bluff National Monument.

Absolutely great hiking and stunning views. I really like this spot for reaching towards the end of the plains and getting to the mountains you can see for miles around in every direction it's cool when a train comes through town and you can see it coming and going for miles

Fun hike, will need to bring more water next time if is this time of the year. Something to keep water cold cause my bottle of water was hot by the time we made it up. It was fun seeing around from the tunnel cave on the mountain side of the hike. Loved the little history in the museum. Had a nice time. Will recommend and make again to hydrate or get some snacks the hike was round trip about 3 miles or so.

If you’re in the area definitely stop to see the monument. I’m from Colorado and it reminded me of going up a mountain in a way. Such a pretty drive to the top with beautiful scenic views. When you get to the top you have a full view. Lots of little paths you can walk as well. Definitely glad we stopped to see it!

A must if you’re in the area. Interesting & scenic. Nice little walking paths on summit that allow leashed pets. Lots of wildflowers. I enjoyed the view from the VC parking lot almost as much as the summit.

Made the stop at this monument while driving from Denver to the Black Hills; its perfectly situated halfway. The short southern trail at the summit were really beautiful and had great views of the area. If in the region, definitely make a stop.

This is a really neat National Monument and I recommend visiting if in the area. It isn't really a place to go out of your way for though. They have a nice visitor center with exhibits on the history of the monument and the Oregon Trail. You can drive your car to the top and the views from there are really scenic. Overall a great place to stop and relax for a while.

This is a great little park to visit. The walks are really nice and there are both easy and longer walks to choose from. The drive up to the top is interesting to do and has a lot of good views, but few places to stop. The two walks at the top compensate, offering a full 360 deg view of the surrounding area.
The visitor center is decent with some interesting stuff on the history of the area and the Oregon Trail.
Its a really unique place and makes for some excellent pictures.
I would certainly recommend doing this one.
The Cheyenne Depot Museum is an all-ages museum dedicated to the Union Pacific Railroad. The museum showcases photographs and models of various aspects of the Union Pacific history, including surveying, track-laying, and steam engines such as Big Boy. Visitors can explore the historic depot and listen to audio recordings from men who worked on trains in different capacities. The museum also houses the Cheyenne Visitor Center, making it a one-stop destination for tourists interested in learning about railroad history.
Cool little museum with a lot of railroad and Cheyenne history! The model trains dioramas were cool but it’s a shame they weren’t operating. We didn’t have kids with us but it seems like they might get a little bored since there’s limited things for them to interact with. Lots of awesome detailed reading and history for adults though. The audio tour was cool too since it uses your phone and you just dial in for each area. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting Cheyenne.

We had a great time, the guy running the front desk was very nice and knowledgeable. It took our family of 6 about 2 hours. The train room upstairs was amazing. Pet friendly as well, we had our 2 dogs with us and they let us through with them, awesome experience.

One of the best train museums we have ever been to and we go to lots of them. Every aspect of the Cheyenne part of Union Pacific history is covered from the surveyors, to laying the tracks, to Big Boy and everything you can think of related to steam engines. The history was excellent and displays were great. It’s located in the historic depot and is quite beautiful. The rooms have audios of men who worked in the train yards and on the trains in various capacities there is an audio tour. The Cheyenne Visitor Center is also located there. A wonderful experience, give yourself several hours. And thank you Michelle for being such a kind and informative staff member.

Wonderful for train enthusiasts! Learned a lot about the region and trains. Great activities for kids and adults with displays set up for a wonderful experience. Upstairs is the model trains exhibit where there are very knowledgeable staff waiting to answer any and all questions. It's a fantastic spot as it's location is right next to the railroad tracks and we got to see Union Pacific's Big Boy 4014 coming back from Denver Colorado.

Cheyenne depot museum and plaza is one of the main attractions of Cheyenne downtown. The depot museum is great place preserving the history of this city. Outside plaza is decorated with some great bronze sculptures. I would recommend this place to everyone. pParking could be difficult so find your place before this place get crowded. The museum timings are different so call them before you go.

We decided to drive into Cheyenne and check out their train museum there. The place is priced well and full of great docents to answer questions. There is a nice model train area upstairs that is well worth the time to visit. The layout took more than 30‘years to create/assemble and a marvelous jo!

Who knew there would be so much more to learn about the history of trains coming to and from Cheyenne! Here's a fun fact, when I was there, there was a video of a train going from Golden, Colorado to Black Hawk, Colorado. I'm from that area and had zero idea! Who knew I would learn about my own backyard in a city 120 miles away!

It was entertaining, but not what I expected. I wanted to see real trains and hoped to see the railroad roundhouse out back, but we couldn't because of buildings and fencing in the way. The elevator to the top floor of the main lobby also didn't work which I was hoping would give me a chance at a view of it with no luck. The main floor had a lot of history of the town and train station and how they used to make and fix things. There was also a kid play area and a little shop with shirts, toys, postcards, etc. If you like train dioramas though then the second floor is definitely for you. There was also a penny squish machine which made me happy.

Great museum for kids and adults - many exhibits and photos with interesting info (there was an article from the 19th century about a new miracle invention - telephone:) )
There is an area for kids to play with wooden train tracks and a place on the second floor where kids can control a model train. The museum run model train is impressive although it wasn't on when we visited. The gift shop has many options for train lovers and Wyoming visitors.

I LOVE trains!
I loved the diversity of displays to view in this train museum! I liked getting to view vintage uniforms, tools, books, and accessories. Another thing I enjoyed viewing was the second floor of miniature trains. The dinosaur scavenger hunt was a cute touch to the experience. And how fun is it to watch trains go by as you tour? Excellent experience.
Bastardo Adventures — Google review
Beautiful museum. Details the history of the railroad system in the United States. The second floor displays a very detail miniature landscape of Colorado with train and mini towns. The person who put it together, Mr. Harry Brunk, took 30 years in the making, past away this May (2023) at the age of 82. He made this huge project possible by dismantling a manufactured home.

A neat place to go to if you're in town! Definitely worth it. Kids would love this place. If you like trains in any way, or have a kid that does, this is the place to go! If you're lucky, actual trains will roll past, since it is still an official train depot. Upstairs (there are large elevators, so wheelchair accessible) there is a large room with a long, continuous model train and railroad. Due to the time of year we went (winter) it was not running, but in summer it is supposed to.
Additionally there was a smaller remote control train that you could turn on yourself. There is also a movie that replays upstairs to watch, if you wanted. It is an older movie.
There are some children-safe things to interact with, such as a wooden caboose and train car that they can play in and take pictures.

Very cool places to learn about, see, and play with TRAINS! Learn about the history of Cheyenne and how the train depot played a big part in helping to establish it. It also has a lot of history information about Union Pacific.
Took us about 2 hours to go through the whole thing. Lots to read and learn about. They also have different spots to sit and watch short videos. You can call a phone number and get a free audio tour through the whole thing.
It costs $10 per adult, but kids 12 and under are free. I think 13-17 was about $7? It's definitely worth it. They also have a cool gift shop too. There are two floors to go through, and the second floor has a whole model set up. Look for dinosaurs. 🦖
Also, be sure to check out the Big Boy 4004 down the street after you go through the museum. It's awesome. It's at a park and it's free.

We were here on weekend and there was a craft fair/farmers market taking place; lots of interesting items on sale.
The museum cost 10.00 a person to go in, we did not visit the museum, but walked around the train depot. The painted boots around the depot are extremely nice to view.

What a fun and informative museum. The model railroad museum upstairs is really fun. The detail in the buildings and surrounding forests, rivers and rock formations is phenomenal. The conductors are great and provide you with information. There are also 4 tiny dinosaurs hidden throughout the display, which adds to the adventure! Definitely a must see!

There is a wonderful HOn3 narrow gauge model train layout on the second floor of the museum,I love it!
The Estes Park Aerial Tramway takes visitors to the top of Prospect Mountain for stunning panoramic views. The ride is a classic free span design and was built by a Colorado legend.
Overall amazing!!!

A great place to take the family to see the surrounding mountains in Estes Park! The tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for children. At the top you can feed the chipmunks peanuts and grab some good coffee. The mountain has a nearly 360 degree view with amazing photography moments. The line was not too long when we went and the staff were friendly. It was cash only at the time I'm not sure if the machine was down or if it is like that all the time. I definitely recommend it at least once!

The tramway is a gem. On the list of must do for a reason. The ride is quick and the views of the mountains are beautiful. The kids loved watching the chipmunks and looking at the town and mountains. Reasonable gift shop and cafe at the top. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the tram and the best places for pictures.

An incredible ride up to the top. Large amount of land to explore up on the top of the mountain. Relatively easy to access for kids and those that don't enjoy a long hike, with an aerial view deck to take pictures. You should definitely plan on lining up before it opens to avoid a long wait. Bring change to buy peanuts to feed the chipmunks!

My husband and I had a wonderful time! Views were spectacular going up and down, and we spent more time up top than we had anticipated walking around and getting pictures! Very windy so a windbreaker is definitely needed but it was warm and sunny! The guides in the cars were knowledgeable about the area and added to the experience!

Very nice smooth ride up to the top. We didn't have to wait long either. The cars are open air and you stand up in them. There was an employee in the car with us but she didn't really say anything. At the top there is a small gift shop and cafe. You can do some hiking trails up there as well but we had more fun playing with the chipmunks and ground squirrels. Bring some peanuts with you to feed them! Only complaint was that it seemed pricey and the ride was short. While it wasn't a highlight of our trip to Estes but we still had fun. The views from the top are excellent.

Great views of Estes and the mountains from the top. 8-10 people per tram with a weight limit around 2300 pounds. Staff was very polite. Gift shop and Cafe also at the top and gift shop at the bottom as well. You will be close to one another in the tram depending on amount of people. 2 trams run and they are about 10-15 minutes apart roughly. Well worth checking out. Adults were $13 each, children 6-11 years were $10, children 5 and under free. Also saw they have senior discounts and military discounts.
Bart Truchanowicz — Google review
Such an unforgettable experience! Wish we had gone earlier rhan we had arrived since we only had a little time to explore once at the top. The tramway was scary but awesome! My friend had to duck down because it was a little too overwhelming for her, nonetheless even she loved it. When you get to the top there are chipmunks by the hundreds. Wow! They crawl all around & sometimes on you! Don't feed them. The hike up was UP, and so so gorgeous. I definitely will return again if ever in Estes. Those we met that worked there were very friendly.
Juliana Chesser — Google review
The line, though long, was worth the wait. The mountain range view from the top and all the chubby chipmunks were amazing! Rained all the way up, still felt safe and secure. I remember going once as a kid and still love it as an adult. Fun for the entire family.

Absolutely amazing views and a great time at the top feeding chipmunks, hiking trails, and climbing the rocks! Will definitely be back to do it again. Also, the staff at the top were awesome! Everyone was so nice and welcoming, the atmosphere was not like that at the typical tourist stop! So warm and welcoming!

Great experience, we hiked out to Prospect mountain peak 1.4 mi, it rained early morning so everything was covered in fog and it cleared up in a matter of minutes. You can feed the chipmunks which was also a neat experience. I definitely recommend this to anyone passing through the area and it's a reasonable price $16.00/person. There is a Cafe and gift shop at the top and you can stay as long as you want. Very neat experience and it even runs in the rain as long as it's safe conditions. Show up early as it can get crowded.
Samantha Tatham — Google review
This is a good attraction. I'll definitely go up again or maybe ride my bike to the top. Friendly staff. They have gifts shops but it's the same stuff half of downtown Estes carries. 4 stars because a full tram of people (8 people) feels extremely cramped as you're going up/down. Also, with just two cars, I imagine the wait gets quite long during peak hours!
Overall, I recommend hitting them up if you're visiting
Nick Burkert — Google review
This is definitely an old-style tramway - it's not a big tram like what you might find in the Alps or Gatlinburg (which is what I was expecting.) Nor is it a gondola with multiple cars. Just two small sky buckets balance each other up and down a long cable. It's hard to get a good view while on the ride, because it's generally stuffed with people (8-10 per ride) and the top isn't super conducive to good views either, except for an elevated walkway with a perfect view towards the Rocky Mountain National Park. But for good light, go in the morning. In the afternoon/evening, the sun set behind the mountain and the whole valley is in shadow.
BUT, it's only $16, the ride operators are great fun and I had a really good time. I'd totally do it again, just first thing in the morning next time. And lines are long - even arriving at 4-5pm, it was still an hour wait.
New Belgium Brewing Company, founded in 1995 by a pair of beer-loving cyclists, offers a wide range of craft beers at its taproom in Fort Collins. The brewery is part of the city's vibrant craft-brewing scene, which includes other notable names like Odell Brewing Company and CooperSmith's Pub & Brewery. Visitors can take guided tours to see the brewing process firsthand and sample some of New Belgium's Belgian-style brews.
We were visiting again from Michigan, and I do enjoy this place. Great beer and wonderful atmosphere. The people here are great. I want to give a shout out to Dave, he is a fellow veteran that works at the brewery and he hooked a fellow retired veteran. Also I was spending my birthday there as well. They were having a concert that evening which was pretty cool. There was a food truck there that had killer Mac n cheese with smoked pork on the top. All in all a Great experience.

I just stopped for an hour on my way into town — perfect way to get a sense of Fort Collins from the get-go! All the outdoor seating was great and the weather was perfect, so the mood of the crowd was super happy, aided by great beers. I loved my pint of Voodoo Ranger Juicy Hazy IPA.
On a second visit, a Sunday afternoon with perfect weather, it looked as if the whole town had converged on the place! Every table was occupied, so we took our beers and sat on the edge of the stage, a perfect place to watch the Dads Mini-golf Open, which was a kick! Funny to watch the “gallery” moving from hole to hole and getting quiet for a shot! Like the other big brewery in town, this is a real, lively, thriving community center for Fort Collins.

We visited New Belgium in Fort Collins for the first time this past December and had an absolute blast! Our small group of four received a very personal tour from Caitlin and she provided a topnotch experience. I've been on probably 8-10 brewery tours in various states but this one was the best, by far, and a lot of that is attributable to our tour guide, Caitlin. She took us all around the brewery and let us sample each of the different beers on tap. We even got a chance to pour our own samples! In addition to providing all of the details and information on how the beers are produced, Caitlin was great about fielding our questions while walking us through each part of the brewery. We even had a chance to check out the barrel room, which was really cool. If you find yourself in Fort Collins and you have time to check out New Belgium, be sure to take the tour!

Definitely a great spot to check out and enjoy a beer. They also had a food truck here while I was there.

Happy to say after almost a year New Belgium inside is open again. Very large property for a brewery with a full bar selection and gift selection inside.

Visiting FOCO for the weekend and had friends take us out for beer at some breweries and the second one today was New Belgium. The place was absolutely packed on a Friday mid-afternoon. Don't these people work? We ended up sitting outside. I went with a sour, Dominga Paloma, and it didn't disappoint. We would need to come back on a weekday as we were told it is usually not as busy.

This is a fine brewery. Not fine as in average fine as in fine like fine wine. They have a wonderfully large field that is great for field games or little ones to run around.
The staff is extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and cared for.
There is a great selection of beers including the new Belgium bangers like fat tire and the 9 million iterations of voodoo ranger IPA but also a lot of exclusive and small batch beers that are not easily found.
They also have sparkling water on tap and not just normal sparkling water but flavored sparkling water that is purple and beautiful.
So if you’re looking for a fine time, with some fine brews, with fine company; come to this fine brewery. (Again all these fines are like fine wine not average fine)

The tour costs $10 and you can buy tickets online in advance.

This was my second visit to Pearl St. and we loved it both times. There's honestly too many places to visit in one day. This outdoor shopping mall is nothing like I've been to in the Midwest (what I'm used to). The shops have something for everyone in them. The various bookstores and toy stores were my favorite. The Pearl Street Mall is one of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in Boulder! I love that it's not only a place for shopping and eating, but also entertainment and play! Boulder does an amazing job keeping it clean - and the flower beds well maintained. There are fun, one off, places for the kids to play and "get the wiggles out". Next time, I definitely want to let my kiddos play at the splash pad! I was very excited to introduce my kids to the Boulder Bookstore, and I am SO happy they loved it as much as I do!!

What a wonderful area. Tons of shops, everything you could possibly want. Plus, many restaurants of all different types. There were a lot of people there, but the size of the area, handles it very well. Plenty of security with the police strolling around with everyone, hardly notice they were there, but comfortable they were! We loved this whole area! Oh, and lots of parking garages and lots all around, that are free on the weekend! Cheers

Such a fun place to shop and explore. Tons of variety in both, something for everyone. Options to shop local, as well as the big name brands Nice, wide area between storefronts to accommodate the masses of people, even outdoor dining areas roped off from the passerby’s. It was beautifully landscaped. There was enjoyable street performers. It’s a wonderful place to spend a few hours and stroll, shop, people watch, eat or drink.

A great place for anyone and everyone to have a wonderful time, to shop, enjoy great food and ice cream, walk around and relax. 100's of stores with 20+ eateries (including 5+ ice cream/gelato shops), 20+ clothing and 10+ accessories, art museums etc.
The ambience was also quite nice and we all loved just walking around and seeing the mountains and other shops in the Mall. The list of shops can be found at

Open concept mall(i.e. not like a traditional mall where all the shops are inside an enclosed giant building). The mall gives a vintage vibe with some exciting art performances. I bought postcards from Art Source International. The mall also has a public restroom which is virtually absent everywhere else in the town.

Boulder is such a quirky, hippy, dippy, little college town so if that's your vibe, they are your tribe! Pearl Street is such a staple and a must visit to get the Boulder experience. Eclectic shops, eateries, food trucks. Brazil Fest performs here, very late summer time frame as do other performers and creative outfits. I definitely appreciate the shout out to the LGBTQ on the pedestrian walk as featured in my clip. :)

We made it. This is one of the most beautiful street malls I have ever visited. And no matter how great everything is, there are always mountains in the background to make it better.

While I was enjoying a magnificent coffee drink from Falafel King, I was lucky to witness the sweet train that goes by every few minutes. The Pearl Street Mall is always such a delight and you’ll never have the same experience twice. There’s always something going on to entertain the throng, such as music, dance, kitty train, etc. A great way to spend your day!

Give or take the university, this is probably the most famous site in Boulder, and rightly so. There is not much I can add to the mythology that has gathered around this mall, other than to say it demands to be seen for itself. Pictures are great but they do not do it justice. This mall is meant to be experienced the beauty and elegance of it, the lively and whimsical atmosphere that contains the spirit of the city of Boulder better than any other place, is not in any individual store or statue or statue or mural, regardless of how colorfully splashy and vibrant those places and sites might be, but in the experience of wandering through the street, exploring, allowing your mind to be overtaken by the symphony of impressions and sensations produced by such a place. Make sure to note even the little intricacies, such as the crosswalks that look like rushing rivers flowing over smooth rocks, capturing the outdoorsy and adventurous essence of Boulder.

Chautauqua Park is a park located in Boulder, Colorado that offers hikers and climbers a wide variety of trails to explore. The park is also known for its expansive lawn which is perfect for picnicking and sunbathing. In addition to its physical attractions, the park also has a number of cultural amenities, including theater and restaurants.
I LOVE CHAUTAUQUA PARK!!! I come to Chautauqua park a few times a month to either meet friends in the park or hike-it’s truly is a gorgeous place, and it always puts me in a good mood close to nature. I believe the statistic says that Chautauqua park is frequented more often than The Rocky Mountain National Park (which is about 40 min from Chautauqua in Estes). But if you are visiting the Boulder/Denver area, you should visit both, as they are both breathtaking and overall amazing places. Chautauqua is perfect for a family adventure, with friends, pretty much it’s perfect for any person who loves nature, mountains, and a great view! Sometimes I just grab a coffee and hike up the first part of the Chautauqua main trail. It can be pretty busy on weekends and holidays, so beware. The parking is good though, you just might have to walk a bit to get to the entrance if it’s a weekend-and most parking spaces nearby do make you pay. I also often bring my Alaskan Malamute, as it’s a dog-friendly trail, and she loves it! You won’t regret visiting this spectacular Boulder landmark, the flat irons are truly a sight to see and worth the trip!

We were told the Bear Canyon trail was the most known Boulder beginner hike. We brought our toddlers to do it with us! We went on a weekday and it was not busy.
Definitely a kid-friendly hiking experience, but a bit too much on the hills at the end. We ended up carrying them for about 1/3 of the way.
Gorgeous views - absolutely beautiful! The pictures I got were only with a smartphone camera.
We also saw a mid-size bull snake, a doe, cows, a plethora of birds and butterflies. The bugs were manageable without bug spray. Lots of plant species, flowers, rock specimens and natural landscape to observe if you're into natural history. A few little streams along the trail, and several shady spots to take a water break.
We did not see public restrooms or a place to get maps of the trail prior. We were able to download it to our phone before coming. Overall, an easy hike without kids and better suited for kids 6+ if you are doing the whole loop.

Beautiful place to see the Flatirons. We did not know what to expect so, no hiking shoes but the path was not bad and the trails are marked clearly. We did somehow encounter a few rough spots as we got to higher elevation due to the snowfall from a few days before. The blue trail especially, was a little rough and muddy. But when you do make it to the top, the view is breathless... no pun intended... 😆
It is worth taking the time to visit this park If you want beautiful photos and catch some wildlife.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our hike that afternoon.

I'm a creative based out of Denver and this is one of my favorite locations to shoot proposals in. The park is always clean and the views are unmatched. I really like how you can go easy or really advanced on the hiking trails. If you are looking for a great hike or something to do while in Boulder this is perfect for that. If you are someone looking to ask another person the most important question in your life this is a place I fully can recommend and it won't disappoint. Make sure you go at sunrise or sunset to avoid large crowds of people as the park is amazing and a lot of people like to go during certain times.

At Chautauqua Park and took the Royal Arch trail. A holiday weekend and the hike took us 5 hours to complete. Normal time is 3 to 3.5 hours to complete. It was beautiful day but just a little to crowded for us. Lots of dogs and lots of hikers equals log-jams and numerous points during the hike. But I'm not mad at anyone or anything crowded trails is a wonderful problem to have living in Colorado. I would recommend this park and it's many trails to all. The views are amazing and skill levels of all can hike a trail here. I can't wait to get back up, just maybe not during a holiday weekend next time.

This area was recommended to me as a good place to hike. It was very crowded on a sunny weekend at the end of March, but the hike was great! Still some snow and a lot of mud, but it was very scenic and enjoyable, especially with the great weather.

By far one of the best hikes in Boulder, you can easily spend all day here hiking and climbing up to the flatirons. There are several different trails for different levels and scenery. There are a couple of spots with picnic tables and restrooms. It gets alot colder at the top so I recommend bringing a jacket, it was also extremely icy in spots where you would just slide and could easily fall so be cautious!!
ABIC STUDIOS — Google review
Our group of 4 did the route up to Royal Arch in the middle of April. This was a slightly technical hike, with a few spots you need to scramble up or down rocks to continue up the trail. We were happy to be in hiking boots and using trekking poles, but plenty of folks on the trail were in sneakers and not using poles, so it's fine for a casual outing. Some spots are a little slippery, but caution is all that's needed.
This hike is beautiful from start to finish! We started in the meadow, then the landscape shifted to evergreen woods with ample stone formations, interesting lichens, local spring ephemeral wildflowers, and underbrush growing in. We didn't see many bird varieties beyond a few magpies, but we did spot some mule deer, and most importantly, a Colorado chipmunk! There was still snow on the ground in places.
The arch itself is breathtaking, offering a sweeping vista that looks out across Boulder, with a great view of CU. Well worth the effort!

Is breathe taking boulder mountain. Today was a perfect day for the hike to the Royal Arch..Took a bunch of pictures and talked to a bunch of nice people along the way.
Well, we took our time snack, enjoy nature and pictures. Is a steep hike, but everyone can do it. Do suggest a pair of good hiking shoes because the trail is rocky.
We felt like coming down hill a lot of impact on the feet.
Bring a good amount of water or some hydration pack, and protein drinks are a good start. We also brought coconut water.

Great hiking and plenty of options. The trails are labeled for difficulty and the overlap so it’s easy to change. Not super difficult and a decent amount of shade and breezes. Pretty views overlooking the city as well as the mountains.

The hiking here is fantastic and has easy to challenging terrain, beautiful flowers, and grand views. We arrived early on a cool morning and grabbed the last close-in parking spot ($2.50/hr -- There is a free shuttle and parking though.) Remember to bring a picnic lunch, sufficient water, sun screen and a bear whistle. Yes, bears are seen occasionally 🐻. After your hike, you will want to pull a blanket out of your car and sit under the trees until your parking expires to soak up every last moment of mountain sunshine. Be alert to your watch however because City of Boulder parking cops walk around continuously checking license plates for violators. It's a popular park and there is a steady stream of cars looking to grab your spot when you leave. We found 3 hours allows for a good hike and picnic/rest time. Enjoy!

The Argo Gold Mill and Tunnel is a renowned attraction located in Idaho Springs, featuring a former gold mine and mill that was established in 1912. Visitors can embark on guided tours that offer historical insights into the mining operations of the past. The tour also includes an exciting gold-panning activity for visitors to enjoy.
We had a great tour by Kris and learned so much about the amazing history of Argo! We loved going through the Mill and seeing all that has been preserved over the years. The tour was an hour and starts with a quick informative video, then we moved through the outdoor area to the mill. You do have to climb 6 steep flights of stairs at one point but there is also an option to not go all the way up and sit on some benches if you can’t make it. The actual tunnel is very short but impressive! Make sure to bring cash to tip your tour guide! We really enjoyed ourselves and were so happy to have finally taken the tour as it’s been on our list.
My only complaint is the gal working the desk inside acted as if we were annoying her by asking simple questions when we bought our ticket. Sorry, but you work in tourism and people have questions. Maybe if you are bothered by communicating with customers, this isn’t the industry for you.

This is primarily a Mill tour. The actual mine tunnel is blocked beyond a hundred feet due to water flow. Our guide Ali was knowledgeable and had a great personality. She did miss certain relevant facts but was prodded by groups questions. A few of the facts provided seemed far fetched to me. The price for the tour was definitely on high side. It was interesting to see the Mills inter workings. As for the gold panning, it was kinda lame. The same little flakes they sold at the gift shop were added to the prefilled pans (my opinion). Everyone in my party had from 3-4 flakes in the pan. A small bottle sold in gift shop for $12.99 and had a great deal more flakes.

Was planning to do a tour here with my girlfriend and service dog, but was told it was really dusty, my girlfriend is highly allergic to dust and also didn't think it'd be good for my dog and myself also. So we settled for a pan of sand that has gold flake in it to pan ourselves. We got some instructions from one of the employees and they were there to answer any questions and were thorough with the initial instructions/training to pan for the gold so you could follow the instructions easily and understand them easily. It was a really fun time, many different things to look at in the gift shop too.

The Argo Gold Mill and Tunnel is a fascinating peek into history as well as a monument to ingenuity and physical labor.
I hadn’t done my homework before taking the tour and was surprised by what the tunnel actually is. It is a national historic site and an EPA superfund site. It is not a gold mine. The slightly over 4 mile tunnel was actually an access mechanism for men to get to the gold mines between Idaho Springs and Central City. They would mine the ore which was then transported back to the ARGO mill for processing.
You only get to go a few hundred feet into the tunnel before you hit a wall constructed by the EPA to keep flooded tunnel water contained for processing. Don’t let this dissuade you from the tour! A knowledgeable guide will entertain you with history and a thorough walk through the mill with explanations of how they turned ore into gold.
Also, don’t be concerned with physical exertion. A bus takes you from the tour center to the top of the mill and portal entrance. It is all down hill and stairs from there.
Your tour is wrapped up back at the tour center with a lesson in gold panning. Truth be told, I was planning on skipping that part thinking it was entertainment for kids. Don’t skip it. I had a ball reducing a pan full of sand to a few flecks of gold that you get to keep.
The tour is worth every penny of the $25 it cost. I now have more respect for the hard work and evolving technology used at the tunnel and mill over its working life.
Edward Bean — Google review
Fascinating tour of the mill, which processed hundreds of millions of dollars of gold ore, up until 1944.
The tour guides are entertaining and very knowledgeable, presenting lots of interesting information about the history of the area and the industry. The tour leads through the mill building and a short way inside the 4.5 mile-long tunnel. Guided gold panning is also included in the ticket price.
Note that visits will involve a climb about 100 narrow wooden stairs to get to the top and some of the outside sections can be icy or muddy in winter.

$25 per ticket for adults. Most the original artifacts in mill was sold for scrap years ago. I think tourist trap fits this well.
Our guide must have been pretty new as he kept looking at the script “as he called it” he did not seem too enthusiastic about his role as guide. He asked if there’s any questions and two seconds later he continued with his speech, not giving anyone A real opportunity to ask a question. Also He walked in front of everybody “as a tour guide should” but while he was talking he did not turn to face us. Wifey and I could not understand a thing he was saying. At the end of the tour you get to do d so one gold panning, each pan given has 3 flakes of Gold “per our guide” worth about $4 which is prepared buy the powers that be ahead of time. “This was also told to us by our guide” I appreciated his honesty but that really does not say much about the organization that runs this place. I have been to 4 mine tours in my life and hands down this was the worst. Just a few miles away is the George Town loop railroad which also give a mine tour “I highly recommend going there and skip this one all together, it’s just not worth it.

Tours are offered here, but the times did not fit into our schedule and with my allergies, and the dust conditions, we decided that it would not work. So I took some pictures instead.
An interesting trivia item about the name of Idaho Springs town is that it was named before Idaho was. When the territory was created in 1861, the U.S. Congress decided to name this area Colorado Territory, but by the time this decision was made, the town of Idaho Springs, Colorado had already been named after a proposal made by a politician named George M. Willing.

A historical experience of how the gold rush started, and an interactive experience of how to pan for gold!
The tour is well worth it as you get to explore both the giant mill and the tunnel into the mountain. Our guide was educated and made the whole thing interesting!
To pan for gold at the end was really fun! My wife and I came home with 7 gold flakes.

This was such a great experience for our entire family. It was fun learning about the history and our four year old was so excited to pan for some gold and gems at the end.
I cannot say enough how thankful I was for the friendly staff here. Nick was our tour guide and knew the history well. Fairly priced for the experience you get. There are lots of stairs so be prepared with comfortable shoes. At the end of the tour you can pan for gold or jewel stones. If you’re not a patient person I’d recommend the jewels. The tour guides work for tips so please remember to bring cash. I’d also recommend that if you’re not from the mountains do this after a few days so you can get acclimated to the altitude. Drink plenty of water before and after you come.

This was a very cool stop in Idaho Springs. The people were great and the tour was very fascinating. Me and my friends enjoyed it. We went at the Noon tour and there were 25 of us. Cost is $25 for adults. It was about 1.5 hours in length. At the end you get to pan for gold. We all got a few flakes.

Great tour - I had skipped before this because my expressed claustrophobia about the tunnels, but you're only in a 40 to 50 foot tunnel and only for a few minutes & you can skip it without loss. Most of the tour is in the mill and that is incredibly fascinating. It's amazing to see how gold production polluted the environment and how the cost for cleaning that has now been shifted to taxpayers. And you have to just wonder at the people who worked in such conditions.

I was shocked from the history behind the Argo Mill. Our guide was very knowledgeable about everything through the tour. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. With all the pictures inside, a nice gentlemen advised to see the visitor center while I waited for the tour to start. If you have an hour, it's a 5 minute walk "over the river, and through the woods, to the visitor center you go." Technically the woods are a bridge.^^ It's remarkable to see just how much work was done to preserve this piece of Colorado.

The tour was great. It's not my first gold mine tour. The mill was awesome. Show up about 15 to 20 minutes. We showed up right as one was leaving. So we had to wait an hour. But we adventure around and took some pictures. At the end of the tour, you got to pan for gold. Each container didn't have much gold.

Very informative tour with an awesome tour guide! Focused less on the actual mining and more on the processing of the mined materials, which is different from all of the other local mine tours. Great for people who want to learn how the gold is extracted from the rocks. The gold panning at the end was a fun experience and great for kids and adults!

I was in Colorado and thought it would be fun to see a gold mine. Although we didn’t go too far into the mine, I did enjoy this experience. After a quick in and out of the entrance to the mine, you tour the mill and you can check out the museum and pan for gold. There were about 12 on the tour I think, just one child and it was about an hour I think. The tour guide was very knowledgeable in the history.
I went the Tuesday after Labor Day. I didn’t buy a ticket online and got there a little before noon. That tour was full so I just waited until 1p. Probably a good idea to buy tickets a head of time over the summer and on weekends if you don’t have time to wait.
I think this is appropriate for kids. I think the ticket was $25, I don’t remember exactly. Check the website to be sure.
Parking lot is stone and not very big. I’d imagine if they are busy they would run out of room but you can probably park in town or on the street. There was a little park within walking distance with playground equipment and a restroom. The visitors center is also within a 5 min walk and they have a small museum.

My wife and I took the tour today and we both we're impressed. Our guide Andrew, was extremely knowledgeable and his lecture was concise and very informative along with bits of humor kept the group entertained. While it’s no longer a working mine, don’t let that stop you. The tour provides how their mine operated at the turn of the 19th century up through WWII. The gold panning was fun for both kids and adults.

I have to admit I was disappointed in the tour. The mill was neat and it is huge. The tunnel history is neat as well, but there is not much to see of the tunnel. Our tour was less than an hour. The Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave is a museum dedicated to the life of American cowboy and Indian Showman William Cody. The museum contains exhibits about Cody's life as a buffalo hunter, showman, and Medal of Honor recipient, as well as his later life as a memorial to him atop Lookout Mountain. The gift shop features items related to Cody's career, including clothing and memorabilia from his Wild West shows.
I was so impressed with the collection of memorabilia at the Buffalo Bill Museum. I especially loved the well-done video which taught so much about him and his life. What a talented and progressive man he was! The "Lavatory Stories" were a great touch!

This was an excellent museum that contained the personal belongings of William Cody along with a vast display of posters for his various performances. The film of his life story was excellent and recently updated. The museum presented a balanced view of his extensive career and was very well laid out. Very educational for all ages. He was forward thinking pro-women’s rights and pro-native American rights. With his successes came failures which were accurately described. There is a lunch place and gift shop next door. The grave is beautifully preserved and of course the panoramic view from Lookout Mountain is amazing. There is a lot to absorb so give yourself time to really explore the exhibits.

What a wonderful walk back into history. The museum is a wonderful 1st class facility full of so much information. Then when you step outside, The view is stunningly Beautiful. It takes your breath away. And I don't mean High elevation 😁 wise. Between the observation deck looking down on Denver and being surrounded by the Mountains 🏔️. And if that's not enough, go to the restaurant and grab a Bison burger or a bowl of Bison chili, and finish that with some Ice cream. After you have enjoyed all of that, I then suggest walking into the awesome gift shop. Finally when you walk out of the gift shop take the small hike up to Buffalo Bills Gravesite.
What a wonderful time we had.

We were going to take some hiking lookout mountain trails but we stopped here first and we walked up. It's a small walk up a hill and you see Buffalo Bill's grave and you find out a little bit about him and who he was what he did. There is a quaint little shop at the bottom of the hill that we really enjoy going through. Bought some stuff there. It is a museum but it wasn't opened at that time so we didn't go in there, but did we walk around the area? And we're saw some pretty good lookout spots. Very nice. Without the museum I took about 45 minutes to walk around and look at everything

I was glad I finally made it up here with a friend who’d already been. We walked up from the lower parking. And the people before us paid it forward so my friend and I got in for free. We came in partway through the educational video and loved it, kudos to the museum for making it. The exhibits were neat too, I like sitting on the horse that moves, the jolt was surprising haha. What a cool thing to stumble upon. I had no idea this was here, and saw the sign as we were driving up to the Georgetown Mines. So on the way back I had suggested a detour to stop and see one of the most famous wild west men to ever live. His story is super fascinating and they have alot of really great artifacts of his. I highly recommend the stop. The museum is only five dollars, and really something you can't pass up at that price. It is not huge, I think it took me about 20 min to see each exhibit and read the signs and stuff, it could have been longer if I had watched the movies. They also have a cool spot for the kids to dress up in wild west outfits and get pictures taken.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is a remarkable destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The park features stunning red-stone cliffs that provide excellent hiking and biking trails. In addition to the natural beauty, visitors can also enjoy a gift shop and cafe. The amphitheater hosts big-name acts, making it an ideal venue for concerts in the future. One can take advantage of the stairs that make up the amphitheater's seating area to get some exercise while enjoying breathtaking views from the top.
This was my first time in Denver Colorado. Everyone recommended this place and I will be the first to say... It was worth the visit! Such a beautiful scenery. No photo will do justice of the actual views you see in person, the views are so beautiful. Words can't even describe it completely! Highly recommend anyone to swing by and make a stop here while in Denver. Kid friendly place

This review is strictly from a hiking and outdoors perspective, not from a music perspective. We absolutely love this park, the hiking trails are nice and well maintained. The area is absolutely spectacular with not just the amphitheater, and surrounding area. The Red Rocks Amphitheater is also amazing, you have to climb the stairs at least once, it is harder than it looks. The trading post is also worth a stop. If you see one thing, explore the amphitheater. If you have more time try out some of the hiking trails for a more in depth and serene activity. Visiting after snow is also an amazing experience.

An amazing location with great acoustics. A great place for a concert but they also have events like films on the rocks and workout classes.
The views are worth the climb of hundreds of stairs to the top. Even if you don't come for an event you can just come for views and hiking other days. There is also a full restaurant that is open to the public.
The rows are nicely spaced so people can pass by you with out it being tight. Parking is a workout from were you park to the amphitheater. Be prepared for the climb.

I recently saw my first concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and it was amazing! The red rocks are stunning, and the acoustics are incredible. The sound of the music bounced off the rocks and filled the air, creating a truly immersive experience.
I had never been to a concert at Red Rocks before, and I was blown away by the beauty of the venue. The amphitheater is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and the views of the surrounding landscape are simply breathtaking. The Denver skyline is also visible from the amphitheater, which adds to the overall beauty of the setting

Was visiting for the weekend and was taken here to see the snow. So pretty getting to see the contrast of the fresh snow on the red rocks and was a nice way to spend part of the day walking around the amphitheater in the snow.
Haven't had a chance to visit for a show yet, but definitely recommend exploring in the snow if you have the opportunity to do so.

Wow what a venue. Was fortunate enough that my friend took me here when in the area. Just hiked area the place. Was a blast. What a unique venue. Loved that they allow you to check out the place during the day . The museum was a lot of fun so much cool stuff has gone down here over the years. Looking forward to coming back for a show.

What a beautiful location! We spent several hours there one afternoon.
We first drove up to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It wasn’t busy, so we found plenty of parking in the upper north lot. There is some parking right by the Amphitheatre itself, but it is limited and you may just end up driving back down.
The setting is wonderful. They were preparing for the Easter sunrise service, but you could still walk the area. We then toured the Visitor Center. It was interesting to see the number of performers who have made an appearance over the years.
I wish I had thought about eating there since we arrived just after 12:30. The prices seemed reasonable for lunch, so we’ll have to try that another time.
We then drove down to the Trading Post. It’s basically a gift shop. It also includes the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, but we didn’t look at that. The place had a nice variety of gifts, particularly clothing, but be prepared: it is expensive.
From there we decided to hike the Trading Post Trail. The sign says it is 1.4 miles long, and it goes in a loop. It took us about 1 hour for us to complete it. The views are incredible along the trail, and I’d highly recommend it.
A note about the trail. If you are facing the Trading Post and go to the left, the trail feels like a more gradual descent. If you go right, there are more steep steps. So you can decide how you want to finish the route if take the full loop.
As for restrooms, we found a number of portable toilets. However, if you like a nicer restroom, we found them at the base of the stage, up by the Visitor Center and behind the Trading Post.
Enjoy your trip to Red Rocks!

Probably the best venue to catch a concert at. Really enjoyed the show I got to catch this year. I would recommend you go for an all day event. See you in Red Rocks at night is awesome. I was seated towards the front and the eighth row and the sound was great upfront so I can imagine that the sound in the back was just as good. Definitely a place that I would like to visit again

I’m not much of a concert goer, but coming here literally had me in tears it’s so beautiful. You can come in for free when no concerts or events are happening and we got lucky enough to come in on a beautiful day when the concert that evening was doing a free run through and got to experience the magnificence of this amphitheater.
All I can say is, it was borderline life changing. I will go back to a formal event here and I don’t know if any other performance venue can ever compete with this place.
Also, lots of great trails around that are amazing as well. A must see!

This venue is so beautiful and just an amazing experience. You can bring in sealed water bottles or sodas and small bags of snacks. I highly recommend bringing a poncho and a small blanket or cushion to sit on. The views and sound is amazing! We also saw baby raccoons near the entrance.

Beautiful! We got there early on a Sunday, like 9am, and we managed to get a spot at the top parking area. It was such a fun experience walking around, seeing the rock formations, and enjoying the morning. There was a large group working out there in the seating area of the amphitheater, which was neat. We walked the short trail that goes by the trading post and we also walked through the visitors center- it was small but really well done! Both our kids (11 and 8) enjoyed the experience, but they struggled a little on all the stairs as it warmed up! Overall, it was such a great excursion in Denver and I’m so happy we made time to check it out!

Most memorable concert ever! I've been to many venues and this by far was the best. Make sure you are able to walk up and down hills and stairs. Our seats were actually a lot closer to the stage, but we were happy sitting in general admission up top.

one of the most beautiful and incredible places I have ever visited in the United States. It has a wonderful view, is 20 minutes from Denver, easy access, has parking, trails, family atmosphere, great for going with friends, family or alone. Take your camera because I guarantee you will take great photos. the energy of the place is incredible. I highly recommend it 10/10

I went during the day to check it out. I wasn’t aware you could visit outside of an event until someone told me. I was there in late March on the day of the first concert of the season. It was a fun experience just to walk around and see what it’s all about! The scenery is amazing and it’s a great way to spend a bit of time, especially if the weather is nice.

This place is pretty awesome. I stopped by during a visit to Denver as I was keen to see it. There was no show unfortunately (definitely a bucket list worthy venue to watch a concert for the future) but there are trails to explore in the area and also run up and down the steps that make up the amphitheater - that’s is a hard slog. The views are pretty spectacular from the top. There is a mini museum that focuses on the geology as well as the various music concerts that have taken place. Worth the visit.

Wow what a location. It's now on my bucket list of places to see a concert. With stunning views and fantastic trails for hiking. Really enjoyed watching the people exercising at the amphitheater. This place has had the the who's who in music play to the masses. Can't wait to go back.

The venue is stunning but there is considerable effort required to experience this beautiful venue. Firstly, elevation. The venue is over 6,000 feet in elevation. Professional athletes need time to acclimate and so will you. Multiple steps and ramps are required to get you to your seat. Stay hydrated, plan ahead, and take your time. Secondly, this is an uncovered outdoor venue. Be prepared. Check the weather, pack and dress accordingly. The seat space allocated on the bench is narrow. Bring a pad or blanket to sit on for comfort. Thirdly, enjoy yourself! You're at an amazing venue enjoying wonderful entertainment! This venue demands extra work, both physically and mentally, but it is worth it!

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to the Denver area. The natural beauty of the park is breathtaking, and the outdoor amphitheater is a unique and memorable experience. While the climb to the top can be challenging, the views are well worth the effort. Visitors should be aware that the park can get crowded during peak times, and food options are limited. However, the park's natural trails and scenic views make it a great destination for hiking and outdoor activities.

A must for any music lover or anyone who want to have a musical experience unlike any other.
Get there early for a good parking spot if you are attending a show and be prepared to walk a bit. It was not hard to get in or out of there so don’t let the parking scare you off.
You can go check it out without seeing a show, just check the website for times. Check out the music hall of fame inside the trading post! Very cool stuff!

Does it even need to be said?? Red Rocks is amazing. I'll never forget my first time visiting here, nor my first concert experience here. Amazing acoustics, there really isn't a bad seat in the house!
Beware that if you are coming from lower elevation, there is a lot of walking involved, and the elevation is no joke! If you can park in the upper parking lot, there will be less uphill walking involved, but it may take a bit longer to exit after the show. Please come hydrated and take the steps slow. They will get your heart rate up more than you might think!
I've seen several concerts here now and all were phenomenal! We have also attended a movie showing for Dune and it was the perfect setting and a lot of fun. People will come pretty early and tailgate/hang out in the parking lots, so feel free to do that before your show. Sometimes they have free sodas for Designated Drivers up at the top by the restaurants, which I've been grateful for!
Food & drinks are pricey as usual, but have been tasty when we've gotten them. The attached restaurant is actually really good if you want dinner before your show!! (You can bring in unopened alcoholic drinks & snacks in a gallon Ziploc to most shows too, just FYI!) I'd recommend bringing a rain jacket or poncho as Morrison can get random weather, as well as a seat cushion or blankets since you will just be sitting on the hard wooden bench. I love that the incline means there is not usually anyone blocking your view!

Please don't visit Denver and not go to Red Rock Park. The rock formations, colors and the amphitheater is AMAZING!!! We walked around and was in awe of the splendor of God's work.
Trust me, make some time to go and spend a few hours enjoying God's creation.
We have decided we will come back, as they have great shows here. We have been told by locals we will never enjoy a show the same. The acoustics are wonderful!! They have a sunrise Easter service we were told is amazing and full.

Absolutely stunning mountain venue that’s medium in size. You feel nestled in between the two rocks and the view of the valley is amazing. There really is no other venue on earth like Red Rocks. It’s extremely special. ✨👌✨
Cons:
This venue is not ideal for those with walking issues. You will walk a lot on cement steps that are both large and small and will stand for many hours. If you have a broken leg, bad hips, a bad back, or any other alignments like that, please heal before attending a concert. It won’t be fun for you as the stairs are unavoidable.
There is also very little coverage if the weather turns sour. It’s rain or shine, so plan accordingly and always bring a good rain jacket (no umbrellas allowed). I’ve stood at RR for 6 hours in the pouring rain and was absolutely soaking after the show. Not my favorite thing to do to be honest.
Lastly, since the pandemic RR has become a lot more commercialized. It used to be a local venue and now it’s outnumber with tourists. Prices have skyrocketed and it’s now very crowded. Long gone are the days (2019 and before) when RR tickets used to be $40-$50 dollars and you could buy them the week of the event. Now tickets are on average $75-$150+ a piece and sell out instantly online. RIP old Red Rocks. You were fun while you lasted.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is my favorite place to go hiking. It's located in Morrison, Colorado nestled up against the Foothills in Jefferson County (Jeffco). The Red Rocks are amazing to see. The Amphitheatre is a nice size. They have parking at the top of the Amphitheatre and there is a lot of parking at the bottom of it as well.
We normally take the hiking trail that is behind the trading post at the bottom of the Amphitheatre. It takes us about an hour to complete the loop.
I highly recommend going here if you are into hiking.
I've never seen a concert here yet but I have seen that it is listed in many articles as one of the Worlds top concert venues that performers love to perform at.

Such an amazing place to visit and home around. The views were spectacular. There was parking nearby but it still required a bit of a hike to get to the amphitheater. We visited when there wasn't a concert or show, but you could tell that it would be an amazing place to see your favorite band.
We also went hiking up Red Rocks Trail to Dalton's point to see the full moon rise over the city of Denver. It was a beautiful place. It's a good idea to bring headlamps if you're planning on night hiking. There was still some snow and ice on the trail and a few spots were a little slick. But the hike was amazing and we timed it just right to see the moon rise. It's a must see.

While I was unable to attend a concert here, I am so glad I went out of my way to see this impressive venue. Red Rocks is absolutely a must see for anyone visiting Denver! Parking was simple and I was able to walk the paths into the amphitheater, taking photos along the way and even on the stage.
The information available online was a bit confusing and I was concerned that it was going to be closed when I arrived at nearly 5PM, but it was not and does not appear to close to visitors during daylight hours.
The restrooms at the visitors center were a welcome surprise and were well kept.

We went in march and it was fun. Really cool to see it in person finally. Parking was kind of far from the entrance due to construction or snow or all of the above and it was quite a workout just to see the amphitheater. Definitely worth it at least once.

Absolutely outstanding location… the view is absolutely beautiful up there. But please know it’s not for the faint of heart walking up the auditorium stairs to get to the top. But when you are at the top the Visitors Center, stop there for the museum. The museum for the Amphitheater showcases the artists who have performed over the decades… great list of performers. The view is also great back there. And before you take your self off the mountain you have to stop at the shop on the way down… I can’t say it enough… the view the view the view… so good. And it doesn’t hurt to buy a souvenir to remember your trip.

What is there to say about this iconic venue that hasn’t been said before? I came here to view the sunrise with a colleague and, having only seen photos, was excited to visit. I was blown away by the natural beauty and the perfect orientation to the east for an unforgettable sunrise experience! Note that if you are sensitive to the low oxygen, be weary of the long flights of stairs to climb to get up to the top of the amphitheater.
I did not have a chance to see a concert here but will be back for one soon!

Red Rocks Park and amphitheatre are a must see. It's free to enter in the morning when there are no events or if you want to hike the surrounding trails, you're more than able to. It was cool to see that they have a little rock n roll hall of Fame building nearby.
We visited the amphitheatre on a Saturday morning and there are a lot of people that like to workout within the rows of steps there. Great people watching there. Great hiking trails that are free surrounding Red Rocks.
Rehabilitation & rescue center for animals such as lions, tigers, bears & wolves, open to visitors.
We had an amazing visit to the sanctuary. We arrived with absolutely no expectations to see any of the rescue animals that they have but we're blown away to have been graced with the presence of many. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and it's a good way to get some exercise in on your hike. What a blessing we will be going back!

Incredible animal sanctuary! Its definitely worth the trip to see these magnificent animals up close. It’s also really interesting and inspiring to learn about the amazing work the sanctuary is doing in order to provide a safe haven for all these beautiful animals.
I really enjoyed speaking with a volunteer. He was very friendly but also a wealth of knowledge and taught me so much about the different animals, their stories and how the sanctuary strives to create a safe and comfortable forever home for all the animals regardless of their age or situation.
I would highly recommend renting or bringing binoculars. Some of the animals are easy to see but others can be seen more easily with the binoculars. Plan to spend several hours here as there are hundreds of animals.
They do have two small restaurants where you can purchase drinks and snacks if you get hungry/thirsty. They also have several conveniently located restrooms throughout the sanctuary.
A wonderful sanctuary doing amazing work!

Beautiful animals that we well cared for! Two MUSTS: 1. binoculars, 2. patience. This isn't a zoo where you are face to face with the animals behind glass. You have a birds eye view of them in very large natural habitats. Some of the tigers are in smaller enclosures for medical care or because they are newly rescued. You do get a pretty up close view of them. Staff and volunteers were all friendly and knowledgeable. Drove up from the Springs and it was worth the trip on a sunny, cool spring day.

Wonderful place to visit with a wonderful purpose behind it! The walkway is a unique way to experience the wildlife. Good photo opportunities even though the weather wasn't great. *Must have plan for binoculars* you will not make the most of your ticket/experience unless you either bring your own or pay a few bucks to rent them there. You’ll see SO much more with binoculars/monocular. I seriously cannot imagine doing this visit without magnification.
Please keep in mind this is not a zoo. The animals are peacefully living in their massive natural habitats. It’s an amazing experience to see so many animals now given the best life possible.
I’d recommend waiting until kids are at an age for a 2 hour attention span with animals farish away. They have awesome accessibility and offer motorized power chairs to rent for those who might struggle with the walk.

This sanctuary is breathtaking and heartwarming! There are hundreds of rescued animals from lions, bears, tigers, wolves, leopards, jaguars, and horses and camels!
Every visit you get to see different animals being able to enjoy being free and living their lives in love and compassion.

Plan to send a lot of time here as the gift shop and cafes are amazing as well!

What a fantastic place to see! Earlier in the morning provided us with lots of animals storing, walking around and just soaking up the sun. We say new baby foxes, tigers, lions, ligers, bears and a variety of wolf, coyotes, and other beautiful cats. Don’t forget to look for the camels.
Debbie Hunt — Google review
We took our kids there and had a great time! I was unsure what to expect but it was incredible. My 17 year old and 11 year old both had a super fun time!
We easily saw MANY beautiful and fun exotic animals from the safety of the walkway and yet the animals were roaming freely and safely in habitats that allow them significantly healthier and freer than what I’ve seen at zoos. Rescued tigers, foxes, bobcats, lions, bears, ostriches, emus, wolves, lynxes, and more.
It’s a drive to get there but worth it! Plan to do a lot of walking. But the time flew by and before we knew it we had easily spent over two hours enjoying the park.
We had good luck with the weather. Might be less enjoyable on really hot or really cold days because you’re outside, exposed to the elements most of the time.
They said mornings are the best because the animals are usually more active. That definitely seemed the case for us. By the time we left around lunch, many of the animals were napping in the sun.
It’s not inexpensive ($50/adult) but seems like a great cause and was worth it for us to see so many awesome animals rescued and taken care of.

The Wild Animal Sanctuary was awesome. We had a really good time. It's great how everything they do is centered around making the animals comfortable and healthy. We spent more time on the walk than we planned because we spent so much time enjoying watching the animals. Definitely worth the drive and the walk. The indoor entrance has plenty of bathrooms and a great little cafe, gift shop and ice cream shop. All of these areas are clean and inviting. Going in mid May the weather was perfect. The visit was worth the $50 day pass and I would gladly come again.

We had a great visit to the Wild Animal Sanctuary. We got there at opening and spent a delightful 3 hours. The volunteers were great and explained the animals and answered questions.
You should bring binoculars or rent them from WAS. There are a few animals close by, but most animals are best seen through binoculars. I always wondered where the large animals that are rescued go, and now I know. Many of them are here.
The big surprise is that the food in the Lions Den Cafe is actually pretty good. It is definitely better than your average zoo food. We all enjoyed our lunches.
Take the 50 minute drive from Denver and experience this jewel of a wildlife sanctuary.

This was a pretty cool experience but I thought it was extremely expensive for what it was. We did have a great time and I would consider going back but $50/adult and $30/kid is a lot for a family of 4. It took a while for our girls to enjoy themselves but once we got going and started seeing more animals they became more interested. We were some of the last people there as the park was closing and the sun was setting which actually ended up being a treat for us because many of the lions and bears were rawring and it could be heard from all over the park. So that was pretty unique. Overall I’m glad we did it but it will be a while until we return because of the high prices.

This is the best experience I’ve had since living in Colorado the past 2.5 years. Incredible wildlife, staff, and facilities. Highly recommend bringing or investing in binoculars to make the experience that much better, however they do provide you with a monocular that you get to keep. Staff is incredible and passionate about the animals. My crew spent over 5 hours here and we easily could have spent 2 more. Other than the animals in the sanctuary we saw wild fox, bald and golden eagles flying by. 11/10 experience, we’ll see you soon!!

This beat my expectations. We had family friends in town and were looking for things to do with a 13 year old. We decided on the Wild Animal Sanctuary and went at 4:30pm because we heard going closer to dusk you had the chance to hear the animals start to rawr - and we absolutely did (it sounded unreal). The prices are obviously more than going to a zoo but we all felt fine with that since the money went to a good cause. This sanctuary is helping rescue so many abused animals. Our group did bring binoculars but I saw so much without them I probably only used them 3 times - but I imagine this can differ by times of day, etc. Amazing place.

Such an amazing place that rescues animals no matter the size or shape. The volunteers took the time to explain the animals situations and the care they get. Just an amazing experience. It taught my kids a lot about illegal animal trade and how bad conditions are for those animals. It was very educational. The animals have lots of room and are not in small cages.

Coors Field is the home of the Colorado Rockies, a Major League Baseball team that plays in downtown Denver. The stadium features nostalgic feel combined with state-of-the-art technology, making it one of the premier ballparks in all of baseball. Behind the Seams tours are available during the season and provide a behind-the-scenes look at one of the best ballparks in Major League Baseball.
Got tickets to go to the Rockies vs the Reds... it was a great game .. the process for the tickets was super easy and Coors field was great .. suoer clean and nothing but professional from all the workers to the Concessions.. the prices were not to bad . First time at Coors field and was not disappointed! Seats are comfortable and plenty of leg room for a 6 foot person. Food was great..team store was clean and organized. ♿️ parking was great with plenty of spots and greatly appreciated located in lot A/B for those that need it. Be aware if you have not been there that levels 200's and 100's are on the same level for some. Signs are posted everywhere though which was great. Leaving the stadium they really control traffic well so your not sitting forever! As a disabled veteran and was there with 2 other veterans, appreciated the "hats off" in between the inning! Thank you for that honor to stand with my fellow veterans! Overall, great first experience and will definitely be back for more games.

I bought last minute tickets for my son and myself to see the Yanks play the Rockies. Ended up sitting in the second row. We had a great time. This isn't the fault of the Rockies of course, as it's mandated league wide, but the addition of the netting is quite distracting. I understand it's due to an increase in fan injuries. Most likely due to fans spending too much time on their phones and not enough time watching the game. Just something I noticed.
Other than that we had a great time. Top: go online ahead of time and purchase a parking pass. I bought one for $21 at a parking garage less than . 5 miles away. One less thing to worry about.

Beautiful baseball stadium in downtown Denver. This stadium is a few blocks away from Union Station and easy to walk to. So many restaurants and bars nearby for a drink or two before or after the game. This stadium has some awesome views of the mountains off in the distance. A great selection of food to choose from, we tried several things from tacos, brats and the fried dough; everything was delicious!

This is a beautiful ballpark located in downtown Denver. It has some spectacular views. If you connote third deck row 20 all the seats up there are purple marking the mile high seats. They have wonderful views of the mountains. Also there is a great selection of food here. So much food options there was too many for me to try and not enough time to try them all. I have to say if you haven’t already try the Colorado rocky mountain oysters. They are not bad at all. You have to try them at least once.

An okay stadium. There's only one large screen for the stadium, so if you're sitting up top, forget about knowing what's going on, or seeing a replay, up close. Getting in wasn't too bad of a wait. The security folks were nice, as everyone was entering/exiting. The stadium was constructed in such a way that the majority of the stadium is in the sun while only the area near third base is in the shade -- PRO TIP: get tickets on the third base side if you want to be in the shade!!!

I really enjoyed my first game at Coors field. It was awesome! The seats in section 120 were great. We got lucky and the Rockies won the game and we also came during fan appreciation day and saw an amazing display of fireworks.

Despite being a baseball fan for almost 2 decades (2004) and Yankees being my favorite team since then, I never actually went to a baseball game in my life until last week. Despite the Dodgers and Angels being close to me, I never had the courage to actually attend a baseball game. So I decided to go to Coors Field while visiting Denver(for the first time as well) and I'm glad I did. It was a blast. It was a bit of a headache trying to find my seat, but I eventually found it. Friendly staff. Friendly people sitting next to me. Great game too! Rockies almost rallying on the bottom of the 9th was a great way to end the game. Much better to watch the game in person than TV that's for sure.
Unforgettable experience. I would attend again.

We came to the game on 7/1 to watch the Rockies play the St. Louis Cardinals. This was Nolan Arenado’s first game back in Colorado so it was nice to see him receive a well deserved ovation. This was only my second time here but I really love this ballpark. It is extremely well done and comes off as classic without being gimmicky.
The game day staff were extremely nice and helped assist us with questions. A fan behind us brought a towel to dry off his seat from an earlier rain shower and he let us use it as well. Even though we were dressed out for the Cardinals we had fun interactions with Rockies fans and everyone seemed happy to be at the ballpark.
We sat in the lower part of the upper deck behind home plate and I thought they were great seats. The seats along the first base line receive quite a bit of evening sun but they also have views of the mountains. Some concession stands offer a kids meal for $5 which is great for families. You can also bring in unopened non-alcoholic drinks which I would highly recommend. We caught a street vendor outside but there is also a 7-Eleven store on Blake street towards downtown nearby.
We walked up and down the 16th street pedestrian mall before and after the game to our downtown hotel. There are homeless people but we never felt unsafe despite the late hour. Coors Field is a great baseball stadium and a must see for anyone visiting Denver.

The Rockies played against the Braves during our stay in Denver. We've never been to a baseball game and we tough it would be a fun night. And it was! It's a really nice stadium with beautiful views over the Rocky Mountains. There was a good vibe and a nice bar close to our seats. We had a very good time eventough they didn't win the game.

Coors Field is a true gem among ballparks. Ranked at #13 on my professional stadium tour, it comfortably earns a spot in my top 5. Despite being only 28 years old, it exudes the charm of an old-time ballpark. Everywhere you turn, you'll find nods to Rockies history, and the views are equally breathtaking. Coors Field excels in areas where other stadiums often fall short; the food is both delicious and reasonably priced, ensuring that enjoying dinner at the game won't break the bank. Plus, the free parking lot shuttle is a fantastic perk. Although parking comes at a cost, having a shuttle option is perfect for those who prefer not to walk or have children in tow. All in all, Coors Field is a treasure in Denver that deserves a visit from both diehard baseball fans and casual enthusiasts alike.

One of the most beautiful stadiums in all of major league baseball. Very conveniently located in downtown Denver and easy to get to whether you’re downtown or coming off of the interstate. Lots of great food, craft, beer, and incredible Colorado weather to watch a baseball game. The backdrop over the scoreboard and to the west is an incredible view of the Colorado mountains. This is especially awesome for a summer early evening game to watch the sunset. Very family oriented stadium and an overall great time.

Parked in lot B, not that bad of a walk. Dead center view bleacher style seats in this area. Not bad got a little sore after sitting for a while. The food and drinks is why it didn't get more stars. Hot dog bond fell apart and it was opening day. Draft beers were all foamy. Carnitas nachos were probably the best thing we had but we're salty. Pretzel bites hard. They should have their own draft beer made for the Baseball Club. Should have more selections of other kind of beers. We were entertained with the game

One of the best field tours me and my wife have done.
We decided to go to the tour during our trip to DEN.
Grab tickets the day of on a Wednesday, off season.
Highly recommended to due during the week, we had a group tour but we’re the only ones on it.
Ended up being a private tour with Phil, the lead tour from Coors field for the last 17yrs.
Learned a lot about the stadium, the team, the infrastructure and the staff.
Tour takes you throughout the stadium, including the visitors dugout, legacy suites, restaurants, outfield rooftop section and home plate on field photo.
Great value for the cost, set us back only ~$30 per ticket.
Highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere but team hasn’t been great over the last few years. Good food and drink options. The surround area around Coors Field is nice, filled with lots of food and drink options.

Stopped by for a night game while visiting Denver. The fans were very welcoming and the atmosphere was laid back. Tickets were very affordable especially for being right down first base line! Outdoorsy outfield was a nice touch too.

I've been to 60% of the MLB ballparks and this is one of the nicest. Tons of cool nooks and sightlines to explore. Bike lanes to and from the ballpark. Lots of good bars and rooftop patios to visit within walking distance.

I love baseball and enjoying a game in Colorado is best case when you visit Coors field. I was able to find parking even with the broncos game partaking nearby. I had very reasonable seats and food once inside the stadium. Rockies fans were absolutely amazing even with my Padres gear on visiting as a spectator. The stadium was super clean and very walkable. I’d highly recommend checking out this stadium for a ballgame if you love baseball.
The 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver is the hub of social and fun activities for locals and tourists alike. It features both local businesses and tourist destinations, such as cafes, restaurants, stores, pubs, charming pavilions, shuttles, pedicabs and horse-drawn carriages.
I’m in love with this lovely vibrant street in Downtown Denver! The main street in Denver for shopping and flowing with the city life, offers a variety of shops and places to relax, bars, great restaurants, cinemas, galleries and more! When in Denver, you have to go there!

Great variety of restaurants and shopping. Be sure to ride the free buses up and down to get around. Union Station at the north end is great too! This Christmas season, there was an AMAZING lighted tree that was FREE and really fun (see videos attached). The only down side is there are quite a few panhandlers and others that may not make it very family friendly after about 6PM. Still, even they were pretty peaceful and didn't cause trouble.

We visited this place because we read that it was built by architect Pei, but to be honest it is not super impressive, and doesn’t look that interesting. Just a regular mall. In the front of the building, on the little square, there are tons of shady homeless, who make the visit very displeasing. Not that it’s the mall’s problem though…
Evgeniya Bozhko (KoriAndrTheCat) — Google review
16th Street Mall is very much like Nicollet Mall, downtown Minneapolis. Food, pedestrians, drinks, shopping and more.
I am not a fan that you cannot sit down anywhere, unless you pay. You have to go to a restaurant. Almost all outdoor Mall seating is gone to try and curb the homelessness and drug problems. The seating that is there is like a trap. I wasn't even sitting down when I had a security guard approach me telling me I needed to leave. Ok, sure. Why? And, I did.
I didn't mention that all I was doing was putting my gloves in my bag.
I'll keep going back when I am craving Caribou Coffee, Sam's or amazing Pho.

They have the pavers started on block 2 , so it's progress. There's lots of construction on the blocks for the 16th st mall project, but you can still access all the shops, and parking was never easy anyways but theres a couple parking garages that are reasonable one on stout and one on champa. The free ride drives along 15th and 17th instead of 16th while under construction. 15th to go west or north and 17th to go south or east. There's bus stops along the roads. Sam's is great to eat at but my favorite is the Blessed BBQ on welton it's fantastic, he's got the best brisket Ive ever ate. Ikes sandwich shop is awesome too on Curtis. Just be careful of traffic and construction going on. It's gonna get better down there, one block at a time. But support the shops that decided to tough it out thru the construction. They are troopers.

Always a fun time on the strip. Excellent selection of restaurants, bars, etc. The views are very good. The 16th st mall really gives you a different feel and angle to see most of the city.

2023-Dec. Lots of construction going on. Lots of stores have closed. There are lots of less unfortunate people living in the streets walking around, but they don't bother you. The free mall ride detoured through adjacent streets due to the construction. See photos for detour map.
The Denver Zoo is a vast and sprawling facility with exhibits, animal demonstrations, and shopping venues. Among its many attractions are animals from all over the world, including primates, pachyderms, carnivores, reptiles, birds, and fish. The zoo is well-known for its educational programming and conservation efforts to help save wildlife in the wild.
The Denver Zoo is one of the best zoos I've been to. I would give it third place - behind only San Diego & the National Zoo. It's a very big zoo for being right in the city, with easy access from downtown and 25. Admission is incredibly reasonable and is a better deal than the aquarium. The enclosures are great and the animals seem very well cared for. We did a "behind the scenes" with birds of pretty and it was excellent! Tons of great information the keepers were amazing and clearly loved the animals they work with.
100% recommend it!

It's been a few years since we have been to this zoo. Not much has changed. But, there are a lot of closed exhibits because they are making some cool looking updates. I can't wait to see the kangaroo exhibit. After 5 it is $5. It's a fair price since it seems most of the animals are hiding away.

Very nice zoo. Great size. Not too large to walk in a few hours. Love the tiger walk overhead. The tropical house is one of the nicest I have seen. Elephant information was short but good. We were impressed with how they treat the elephants. Lots of little information booths that were in service. We have a new membership, so we will be back.

They really like to trap you in the elephant and monkey exhibits so you can't find your way out but overall it's a fine zoo. The short and sweet elephant show was great with lots of conservation info and Jake (the elephant) did such a good job! You can tell the employees really care, for example an orangutan mommy had just given birth and they had a zookeeper there explaining everything and keeping order so all guests could see the baby. I also really liked their animal hospital and that you can observe procedures, very unique and awesome experience if something is going on. The only thing I'd wish was for more big cats :)

This is such a great zoo, we went during a colder day in late November. The inside buildings alone took us a while not to mention many great larger animals as well. As we were leaving they started turning on the lights for a separate event. We had a great time and got some good pictures and videos.

The Denver Zoo is a must see attraction. I've been here many times and it never gets old. The kids love it. The zoo is always updating or changing the exhibits. It's a nice place to get your steps in and it's surrounded by great restaurants. The zoo lights are always amazing to see.

Went during the week during February. Wasn’t too cold but a lot of the animals were inside, but did get to see almost all of them. Some construction going on which is probably best to do during winter months. Great experience. Clean zoo.

Best zoo experience of my life! Me and my partner went for my birthday and we saw basically everything! The animals all seemed so happy in their exhibits. I loved feeding the stingrays and the lorikeets, and the wild dogs were beautiful! Left with a plush of one myself. I absolutely want to make this a yearly experience!

The zoo was really nice! I went on a day when the weather wasn't that great (which is my fault) so a lot of the animals were kind of hiding and what not. They have a good selection of animals which for the most part look super content. They have some parts under construction and the birds were all taken if for their own safety, so O feel like I didn't get the full experience, but I would love to go back and a day where everything is normal and it's nice out.

The Denver Zoo is a fantastic place to visit! With its wide variety of animals and beautiful exhibits, it offers a memorable experience for visitors of all ages. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education is evident in their efforts to provide a comfortable and natural habitat for the animals, as well as informative signage and interactive displays. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and there are plenty of opportunities for up-close encounters with the animals. Overall, the Denver Zoo is a must-visit attraction for animal lovers and families alike.

This is a really fun, large, and clean zoo. They have a wide variety of animals and exhibits. Being quite large, it does require a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to take breaks if you come with very young children. It was also quite hot the day we went, and while there is some shade around the zoo, you may want to prepare by bringing water and sun protection. The elephant exhibit was especially impressive. We really enjoyed this zoo and would definitely recommend it for families and anyone who enjoys seeing animals!

We hadn’t been to the Denver zoo in a few years and I was so impressed with the transformation that has taken place. They have redeveloped multiple areas of the park to better accommodate animals and allow for close up viewing. Several areas are under reconstruction and I’m excited to see what is coming next! We had special sightings of a baby mandrill, wallabies being trained, an elephant presentation, and a baby sloth from right underneath. All staff were friendly and informative and seem to really care.

My family travels to aquariums and zoos every chance we get. This is by far one of the BEST zoos we have visited. It is clear that the employees have a deep concern for the animals, the environment, and for conservation. They were happy to speak to all of the visitors and answers questions and offer information about the exhibits.
There was much care given to ensure the safety of the animals, which included taking them off of display if it was in the animal’s best interest. This was actively communicated to the visitors through Keepers Notes.
If an animal was not in it’s normal location, this was also communicated. Absolutely LOVED this zoo and highly recommend visiting it.

Beautiful zoo! My toddler & I had a long layover in Denver on our way to NOLA & we decided to visit the Denver Zoo. It was very clean & well kept. My son's favorite exhibit was the penguins, they have an adorable set up. My favorite were the elephants, I've never seen so many elephants in one zoo.
As recommended by the website, we ordered our tickets online, the tickets were sent to my email. We scanned the tickets & were able to enjoy the zoo quickly. I would definitely go back again! Due to the layover, we only saw maybe half of the Denver Zoo.

This was such a cool place. It was a beautiful day and all the animals were out and active. We especially loved the elephant area as they were filing and cleaning their feet. The employee working that area gave us a great education on the Denver Zoo elephants, their habits and training. Excellent!

Long time visitors of the Denver Zoo both as native kids ourselves, and with our own family
New baby orangutan was cool. All the animals were in open, active areas. There is a massive upgrade/expansion project underway in early 2024. The animal hospital is amazing and is setup to allow visitors to observe patient care. We come every year to support our local zoo and will for years to come

This was my first visit to the zoo other than Zoo Lights. It was easy to move around and it looks like they have some great improvements coming. We had an entry time in the morning so a lot of the animals were just lying around but as the day went on, they were more active. The hospital was so impressive. The prices were reasonable. My only complaint was we wanted to just get some drinks with ice but had to wait in the long line. It would be nice if they had a beverage line only since there was a place with a cash register and beverage machine that were not being used. Otherwise, everything was amazing.

We had a great time here. This zoo is much better than the Birmingham Zoo. I would rate the zoo five star, but several exhibits are closed for renovations. The elephant show was great. We were able to see one tiger. The other one was sleeping on a platform and only partially visible. We saw some lions, seals and sea lions. Our time was limited, so we did not see much else. If you need to leave and return the same day, then you can get your hand stamped and not have to pay to come back in on the same day.

The zoo was awesome. Was $5 bucks and a lot of walking so wear your walking shoes and if your knee hurts like mines bring a cane. But other then that it was awesome. We all had fun and don’t mind coming back soon

So much stuff closed and under construction. Very underwhelming. I understand the need for expansion and growth but when half of the zoo seems inaccessible and you spend the other half looking for animals that aren't in their exhibit because they were moved but there's no signs stating so...eh.... Definitely child have been handled better to set better expectations going in. Needs work in that department.

If one has a SNAP card, Admission is only $1, up to 10 admissions - a way better deal than the $24 now being charged. Incredible that is costs that much - way more than when I was a kid. But then, the DZ has upgraded its exhibits and facilities through the decades.
A few animal exhibits were empty, such as bears, seals and others.
Still, it's a nice facility with good informational signs and exotic animals that seem to do well at high elevation.

A lovely zoo, and clearly on the way to bigger things. The elephant enclosure is very impressive, the largest I've seen outside of Dan Diego. What they have now seems small for a city the size of Denver, but multiple construction projects are underway. The staff were friendly, informed, and engaged. More detailed maps throughout would be a nice touch, as we missed things and had to backtrack because the main map gave the impression of a simple loop that was not a match for how things felt while walking. Even with poor weather it was a great day out and I would visit again in the future.

Had a great time here with my wife and family. Definitely recommend to visit if you are in the area , lots of animals to see and enjoy . There is alot to see , expect to be there for more than a few hours to truly enjoy and experience everything. The staff is supper friendly and knowledgeable. Your going to have to do alot of walking, so bring comfy shoes and if it's a hot day bring your water bottle they got place you can fill it up . Food is mid and pricey, but when your hungry anything and everything tastes good . Bring some sun screen too to protect yourself from those harmful sun rays . I had a great time petting the stingrays and feeding the birds . They have a little train too that you can take your kids on. Lots to see and enjoy . Throughout the day they have little shows where you can learn about the animals , very fun to watch . Hope you enjoy your time there .

It’s super spread out, a great place to get steps. Some animal enclosures were small and I came on a holiday so the crowds were thick—some animals appeared stressed. They had an impressive collection of venomous snakes which were very visible.

We enjoyed going to zoo's so we stopped here for the afternoon. It was a lot of construction at the zoo so some of the places that said a particular animal was going to be was not there. Maybe we missed the signs that said they're not there at this place, but we are following the map that we were given so that was a little confusing. The bathrooms that we did use were very clean and tidy. There was a couple places open to get some food. Very nice for the animals. We did the zoo in an afternoon but you could easily spend a day here looking. Because we do enjoy zoos. We have a zoo pass for our local zoo. It was disappointed that they were not part of the reciprocity for other zoos. You need to purchase your tickets from a kiosk or before you go. There was no one there to actually purchase tickets from

We really enjoyed our day at the Denver Zoo. Arrived around 11 and it took the entire day to see everything. Admission was reasonable. We appreciated that this zoo has indoor and outdoor viewing for most a-list animals so even on chilly days, there's a protected place to experience the zoo.

Fun first time at the Denver Zoo. The exhibits that were open were great. Penguins put on a show for us. They were so active and funny. Monkeys were the next big hit. As of early April 2024 there is a lot of construction going on in the zoo for new exhibits. There were several areas with no animals available. Still a great experience! We caught a flamingo trying to escape.

It was a perfect Spring day for the zoo. It wasn't very busy either. There were quite a few enclosures under construction but the animals that were out were super active. We had a minor first aid need and Tim took very good care of us. I had no idea the zoo had a little doctor office setting for first aid!

Tigers ... we were able to catch Viktor's feeding Viktor and Nikita are absolutely beautiful as well as the other animals. Take the time to see the animals towards the back around the construction area. If you don't like to wander there are maps available. The Denver Zoo is a can't miss experience! They've really done an incredible job of creating an accessible park while prioritizing animal welfare. There are plenty of nature play areas for children and places to picnic with your family or simply sit and relax near their animals. The animal care staff and education team are all friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. There are several flex exhibits, so occasionally the signage may not quite match the animal you see - but this is well worth it when you realize it means that animals such as the elephants and rhinos are getting healthy opportunities to experience different environments.
Note that tickets have a timed entry, so plan ahead!

The gardens are really beautiful, you can definitely spend a lot of time here but you can also see everything within an hour and a half if you’ve got other things to do in the city. They have a cafe on site that you can visit, I didn’t try it because the line was super long. There were a couple of areas closed off since they’re renovating, but there was still plenty to see.

DBG never gets old. I love the art almost as much as the gardens...haven't been disappointed by an installation yet. With countless favorite individual plants to focus on, I still find myself walking down a quiet path just for the ambience. Thank you for all the years / seasons of enjoyment.

Beautiful area. Really loved the tropical plants. That was my favorite exhibition. Really well put together area of plants. Nice and spacious really like the pyramid in the middle it's also very interactive inside.
My friends and I had the best time there on Saturday!! It was a special Holiday tour. Not only did we get the tour of all 19 of their wolves, foxes & coyotes, but everyone got a very special meet & greet with Wolf pup Raven!! Amazing experience!! After the tour, we got to check out their wonderful gift shop...best collection of wolf everything that I've ever seen!! They also have a lot of beautiful pictures of the same wolves that we just got to see in person, during our tour!! I recommend this place to anyone who's as in love with wolves as I am!!

It was okay, not good, not bad - it would have been great if we weren't going for a toddler... not a toddler experience! The website made it seem like they only had tours on certain days and since they list business hours straight through the day, we assumed that you could just walk around on your own if it wasn't a tour / Wildlife encounter time. So just for anyone else wondering, even if you do pay, you cannot walk around without being on a guided tour beyond the 2 front fences and the check-in building. The gal at the check-in desk said they did have room for us on the tour if we wanted to join, and it would have been $25 (per adult) for each of us and $15 (per child) for our 2 year old child. Our 2 (almost 3) year old just wouldn't have had the patience for or really care to take a tour (and I'm sure the guides and everyone else on the tour appreciated not having a 2 year old talk through the entire tour asking 8 million questions over and over about the animals and running around)... he just wanted to go see the animals from a distance, like the National Wildlife Refuge. And I'm pretty sure all the tours go inside the enclosures, which he is also not ready for and could not behave safely - they do say on their site tours are not recommended for anyone below the age of 5, and I'd agree with their recommendation; however, I didn't realize that basically meant do not visit if you are under the age of 5 since it's only meant to be a tour guided facility - nothing you can pay an admission to just view from behind the fenced areas. Our son did get to see a couple foxes that were in the 2 front fences in the entry way, and the gift shop had a really nice variety of products though, so if it's on the way, you could go just for that if you have a toddler or baby... but know it's a quick trip and you won't see much of anything. We won't go back until we have a child old enough to do the tour safely and who would want to actually understand and care about the tour to make it worth the time and $ for us.. and to respect everyone else trying to listen to the tour, but we would like to come back when that time comes.

Well designed and maintained wolf and wildlife experience. Plenty of parking. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Groups can be large in numbers but the facility easily allows for this and voice amplification devices ensure the guide can be heard. The one hour tour gives you a great idea overview of the facility and you may wish to return for a more enhanced and personal experience. Howl and be heard at this wonderful wildlife encounter. Great for young and old alike!

Beautiful place. I'm glad such place exist, they do amazing things for the endangered wildlife. It's sad to hear what these lovely creatures go through. Definitely worth going and taking a look for yourself. Emily was our tour guide and she introduced us to a variety of lovely wolves and coyotes. Being very informative about the critical situation they are facing as well as how incredible and smart they are. We promise to visit every year or any time we can to support you all. Thank you.
There's plenty more wolves I just snapped a couple of pictures. Howling with the wolves at the end was a great farewell and is something we want to experience again.

Brought my daughter and my 2 grandsons (7 & 10 years old) to learn about the wolves. The tour and educational information is well worth their prices. I can not speak highly enough about the people working here who interacted with us. They are very well informed, personable, and genuinely care for these wonderful animals. I would do this tour again when we come back to Colorado. Next time I’m hoping to do the VIP.

Great interactive experience with Raven the Wolf. They only do this once a month, but it was very worthwhile.
The tour afterwards was very informative as well.
My one criticism would be the prices in the store afterwards, there is at least a 25% markup on some items compared to other souvenir stores in the area. I honestly think they would sell more if they reduced their prices and potentially have more to spend on the wolves and their upkeep.
Alternatively sell more smaller, low priced souvenirs so that people are less likely to leave without spending anything
HC OakleyD — Google review
Reservations are required. Basic tour is $25 and personally I think that's high.
You can pay extra for personal encounters with the wolves.
They sell water, but you can bring your own. They provide shade umbrellas if it's really sunny, but there are plenty of shady spots and places to sit along the tour.
They do a good job of trying to coax the wolves to come up to the fence so you can see them up close.
The ending group wolf howl was really cool.

Visiting the wolf and wildlife center was an incredible experience! The staff was knowledgeable and passionate about these magnificent animals. We got to see the wolves and other animals up close in a safe and respectful environment. It was both educational and awe-inspiring. I highly recommend this organization to anyone interested in wildlife conservation and learning more about wolves.

We took the feeding tour last Saturday evening. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I had some preconceived "knowledge" about wolves; boy, was I wrong! Our tour guide was great with adults and kids. The wolves, foxes, coyotes, and New Guinea Laughing Dogs are extremely well taken care of and beautiful. Lots of space for all of them. If you have even the slightest interest in these animals, this is a must visit. The money raised goes to protect these animals. Thank you to the staff, the ones we met, and the others we didn't; you're doing wonderful work.

One of the most amazing experiences I’ve had, it’s a must see for sure. I received such crucial information on the importance of saving these beautiful creatures. Our tour guide was one of the best I’ve had on any tour. She had so much information for us but shared in the most fun way. The wolves were beautiful, endearing and when they howled! Wow. You have to go!

Visited here finally after many years living in SoCo. The refuge itself has wolves rescued from far flung places as well as wild dogs, foxes, etc. We had to be escorted around the refuge and were given a background of each of the animals in the enclosures as well as some behavior info. You can tell the staff interact quite a bit as they have gotten to know each animals personality, and that was probably the most intriguing part of this tour. Be sure to go upstairs and see Raven's (the wolf who likes to paint) work. You can even buy a print if you like.

Must visit. Easy to find. Would recommend reservations in advance. We didn't and were able to get the next time slot. The gift shop is amazing and has a seating area in the back with coffee and tea. The tour was eye-opening with the populations of the wolf and how each state treats them. I'm so glad this place is here to educate us all. We howl and the wolf's howl back at us.

As an animal and particularly a wolf lover, this was one of the best experiences of my life! The knowledge they have of the animals they are working so hard to preserve and the obvious love and care they provide for each of them is very evident. An awesome place and experience.
Be sure to check the events page before visiting to see what extra fun or educational thing they may be doing for an extremely reasonable price!

Where your dreams of observing, interacting, and even petting a couple of wolves can come true! The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and they have a true passion for all the critters at the reserve! The reserve is a beautiful environment for the animals to roam in and a grand environment to observe them in! Definitely a one of a kind experience, especially the photography sessions that are offered! They also have a magnificent gift shop that truly does have something for everyone! I'm from North Carolina, I purchased and experienced the group photo session. The staff DOES makes sure that you have a chance to interact with the wolves before you leave. The photos they take are done with precise timing! They know their wolves well! Well worth the price to experience this rare opportunity, and I would do it a hundred more times if I could!I look forward to going back with my son one day! Thank you Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center for making a little girl's dreams come true!!!

This place is amazing!! You get so close to the animals, and they teach you so much while you're there. I did the wolf encounter and will have photos to look back on from an experience of a lifetime. The staff was very friendly and kind. Plus, they have cool stuff in the gift shop for decent prices, and all the proceeds go back into the wolves.
However, if you go in the wintertime, wear boots cause it's slick and icy on the paths - you're in the mountains, lol

Staff was very kind and knowledgeable. The intro at the very beginning was very long-winded but I understand the importance of spreading facts and encouraging people to support our wolves. The wolves are lovely and were very talkative during our session. I cannot wait to go back to visit those beauties.

I cannot say enough good things about the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. I was visiting Colorado Springs for a work trip and knew I needed to make the journey to visit the wolves. The VIP experience is incredible, and the staff are extremely accommodating at trying to get you great photos and very friendly. The facility itself is beautiful, with spacious enclosures and enrichment for the animals. As a veterinarian I appreciate the effort to maintain good health and welfare of the animals, as well as the effort to educate the public on wolf behaviour and ecology. Debunking the “alpha male” myth is particularly important since neither wolves nor dogs operate on a dominance hierarchy. Emily our tour guide was clearly very passionate about wolf behaviour and conservation and I wish I could have had more opportunity to chat with her. These beautiful animals are a vital part of the ecosystem and I am grateful to the CWWC for their efforts to advocate on behalf of wolves and wolf conservation and educate the public. I am even more grateful to the animals themselves for welcoming me into their space and allowing me to fulfill a lifelong dream.
The US Air Force Academy is a prominent military training facility in Colorado Springs, which attracts millions of tourists each year. It offers visitors a glimpse into the history and training of pilots and other airmen.
Visited the United States Air Force Academy in early August and was simply awestruck by the history, mission, character and quality of people who first organized the institution, all the graduates over time, and the proud character of the individuals attending the academy. Beautiful campus nestled in the north part of Colorado Springs, with plenty of space and neat, air-themed buildings. The chapel was under renovation/construction when we visited so we could not view it, but there are plenty of images and models around to get an idea of how beautiful and majestic the building is. We don't have any family members in the military, but we greatly appreciated the valuable opportunity to learn about this wonderful institution and the amazing work of the people associated with it. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

We visited the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in hopes that our daughter will be attending next year. It is a highly respected institution that is known for producing some of the most dedicated and skilled military officers in the United States Air Force. With a focus on integrity, excellence, and service, the Academy prepares its students to meet the challenges of military service with honor and distinction.
Beyond its academic and ethical rigor, the Air Force Academy also offers a vibrant and diverse community for its students. Cadets come from all walks of life, and the Academy prides itself on fostering a sense of camaraderie and belonging.
It would be a blessing to be a part of this prestigious academy.

What an impressive place! Not just the beauty and the organization of it, but the respect for the academy and the respect for the service is present. The size of the grounds is immense, and we only stayed on the roads, not having time to go on any of the walking paths. Even though the chapel is currently closed, we still learned a lot through the visitor's center, and the video they showed was informative as well. Would have loved to have had more time here.

My husband made a second trip to get my prescription which said on the recording that it would be ready on Friday after 2:00 pm. He tried calling but they would not answer the phone and of course it was not ready again. Have no idea what is happening at the USAF Academy but the prescriptions now are never ready when they say it is in their recording. From now on we are not going to pick it up until we get text from them saying it is ready. Of course I am going to run out of this important medication.

Pikes Peak is a well-known mountain peak in Colorado that stands at 14,110ft and is made of pink granite. While not the tallest of Colorado's 14ers, it's famous for its stunning views and attracts over half a million visitors every year. The Ute tribe originally named it the Mountain of the Sun, which accurately describes this majestic peak that rises straight up from the plains.
Hiked up through Barr trail and drove back from the top. Thanks to my friend who came up in his car to pick us up. Hard and enjoyable hike with beautiful views along the way. Views from the top were stunning! Would love to travel in the train next time. Our drive down was really fantastic with lot of great stops to enjoy the nature and views!

America's Mountain is an amazing place to visit. We took the Cog Railway to the top and we were left awe struck. It's no wonder America the Beautiful was inspired by Pike's Peak.
You can hike 13 miles up, take the train, or drive to the top. No matter which way you go, be sure to walk all the way around the top and venture through the visitors center too.

We went to the top of the mountain through the car, and it was amazing. Views were breathtaking, and we had an excellent time..if you are traveling with kids, they might feel a little light-headed, and the drive up to the mountain is not for the faint heart.

This is a unique high elevation summit experience. There are not a lot of mountains you can drive, hike, or take a railway to the top. The visitor center is nice. The views 360⁰ are spectacular. The summit is very busy.

One of the very nice outdoor spots to visit in the Denver area. We visited during Labor Day weekend. It was so crowded. It needs a pass to visit the top of the peak. We got lucky to visit the peak despite no planning from our side. The view from the top was absolutely gorgeous. I was pleasantly surprised to see the train service to the top. Next time, I will plan for it. The 360 degree view from the top was spectacular. Sitting at an altitude of 14000+ feet, I could feel the altitude and reduce oxygen levels. The rangers also check for brake pads temperature on the way down and provide recommendations based on the result. In our case, we were asked to wait for 30-40 mins as the brake pads temperature reading was too high. The rangers recommend turning off AC on the way up and using lower gear on the way down.

A very fun day drive and summit experience. Make sure to be ready for the reduced oxygen at the higher elevations. It will be about 20 degrees colder at the Summit, as well.

I’m terrified of heights and I had to drive along those narrow roads with those steep drop offs but I’d do it again to see that view. It really makes you appreciate nature and just how vast the Rocky Mountains are. My photos couldn’t do it justice but just go and see it. If you’re considering it just go do it. Also try the Pikes Peak doughnuts at the cafeteria and check out the gift shop!

We drove to the top but I have been up hiking and by cograil in the past. Each way to go up gives an amazing experience with breathtaking views. I couldn't believe how much snow was on the summit for later June. I love going up this peak and I enjoyed the amazing doughnuts at the top.

Ridiculous that they charge $50+ to drive up a mountain... But it's definitely something to check off your list if you're in the area. The $15 admission is if you're not going to the top.
We did not make reservations and were allowed entry with no problem.
Make sure your brakes are in good condition and that you know how to drive downhill without using them (using low gears instead).
Set aside around 3+ hrs for the trip depending on how long your stop offs are. Bring snacks and water.
Beautiful scenery. Be sure to go when the weather is clear and have some high altitude donuts at the top... They really are amazing. The gift shop sells some cool stuff that you can only get there.
If you have kids, be sure to check out the North Pole amusement park.

Wow!! Is the best way to describe this experience. The drive up takes about an hour and it is best to go slow and steady especially around the turns. The view driving up is beautiful but once you get to the top, WOW it is just amazing. It was cold when we went but the experience is so worth it, just dress appropriately. Also don't forget to stop along the way up because there are some really beautiful places to see and take photos. 😊

Just amazingly worth it. We tried to get a reservation to drive to the top, but couldn’t. But we were able to drive to mile 16 and park and then ride the free shuttle the next 4 miles to the top. It was a pretty cold day, but we did it in shorts and it really wasn’t all that bad. The views were amazing.

A definite MUST see if you are in the Colorado Springs area! The pics do not do this ride justice by far. A few things to note.
Train is about 1 hour up and a little less back down with about 30 minutes at the peak, so plan for about 3 hours.
It will be cold at the top, so plan accordingly! We went up in July and there was still snow.
Also, check the weather and buy tickets in advance. I would recommend sitting on the 3 seat side. We were lucky to have a break in the clouds on the way up, but at the top and the way down, we were in the clouds and had little visibility.
Still an awesome experience that we will do again!

I did not trust myself to drive up or down the mountain so we used Buggy Tours. I highly recommend checking them out. Joe was very knowledgeable and explained all the cool things along the way. Stopped at the best spots for a picture. The summit was cloudy the time we went but the views up and down were perfect.

Wow!! What an incredible time! Make sure to make reservations for your drive up. There is a great map they give you with points of interest on the way. Plenty of places to stop and get some really amazing pictures. Make sure if you are going slow to pull over to let the faster traffic around you. They provide a lot of areas to pull over so you can take your time and enjoy your drive while not holding up people that want to go faster. At the top there is a visitor center with a little museum, gift shop and cafe. Make sure to get your donuts in the cafe! There is a great amount of parking and you can walk around the whole area and get some amazing views. Don’t miss out on this adventure!!

Beautiful and tiring. Went to the trailhead straight from the airport and started the hike at 2am on last Saturday 8/26. Paid $30 at the parking lot so don’t forget otherwise you’ll get a $50 ticket. Didn’t see a single soul for first 4 hours and it was pretty dark, reminded me of Blair Witch movie. Last 2-3 miles are tough but worth the payoff. Also, definitely chilly as you get higher so have layers. There is a cafe at the top so enjoyed the cheeseburger and drinks. Water is available to refill along the way so have a filter bottle. I went through 4Liters; Barr camp opens around 7.30am so I was too early but that’s a good stop to rest on the way around 6 miles in or camp at if you want to do this hike over two days. Beautiful views once you get out of the Forrest. There is a train that takes you all the way up and back so do that if you don’t want the workout or you can drive up the paved road. Took me 11hrs total to get to the top and back, around 23.88miles. Hike isn’t technical so anyone can do it as long as you’ve endurance. Highly recommended!!!!

Pikes Peak is definitely a must see tourist destination for anyone to visit because of the unbelievable views you get from a top the mountain. The drive up to the top of the mountain is beautiful in itself and is quite invigorating. The amount of switch backs and curves while traveling up makes for an exciting experience. Once you make it to the top, you get a view that is quite unique and truly unbelievable. They have a restaurant at the top where you can grab lunch at. There are multiple spots where you can pull off the road and get some great photo opportunities.

Probably one of the best things I've ever experienced. I would recommend spending some time in Colorado Springs for a day or two prior to driving up. Get used to the altitude and drink LOTS of water because the lack of oxygen up here WILL make it difficult to walk. Seriously, don't drive up and get dizzy and then not be able to drive back down. There are no guard rails.

This trendy place is still worth seeing. Yes, the road is steep, and some may be frightened by the sheer drops, but don't let that stop you. The views are spectacular, and it's most likely you won't ever be at that elevation again, especially after being able to drive there! Next time I come here, I want to hike it or take the train. We also saw a Bear near the cliffs below us. Not too often you see them in the wild.

Views for miles and miles. Constantly changing panorama. There's a reason America the Beautiful lyrics were inspired by a visit to Pikes Peak and not New Jersey. Take it slow on the winding road, make sure you have plenty of gas and pack warmer clothes than you think you need.

Gold Mine Tours Inc. offers group tours of its underground facility, including tram rides and exhibits. The hour-long tour takes visitors 1000 feet below the surface of a former operational gold mine, providing an educational experience for all ages. Knowledgeable guides, who are experienced miners themselves, share insights into mining techniques and demonstrate historical equipment used in the industry. Visitors can explore the property while waiting for the tour to start and enjoy informative storytelling from guides like Harley.
An absolutely amazing experience to be able to go down 1000ft into the earth! The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable on all that is mining and will happily answer any questions that you may have. It was a fun adventure and it was so cool how the guides gave us demonstrations on the mining equipment. I Highly recommend this tour.

I visited the Mollie Kathleen mine tour in May of 2023. I thought it was great, with lots of educational demonstrations and explanations as well as just really cool being in tunnels that deep underground. Heads up that the trip down is cramped, so just be prepared; though they do warn you about it ahead of time on the website.
If you visit, I strongly suggest after the tour going across the street to the heritage center and seeing the scale model of the Mollie Kathleen mine; it really gives you a nice sense of scale for the tour.

Well worth it. It's a tight fit in the elevator! Literally front to back, shoulder to shoulder, but a quick ride down. There were lots of cool demonstrations of the tools used when the mine was active. Easy walk. Short ride on an original underground air powered train. There was also a lot of interesting history and facts during the tour. Quick ride back to the top. Coolest mine tour I've ever done.

From being up in one of the most beautiful places in the mountains, to the some of the nicest people. This tour was in the top three of adventures on this trip. Start off by being put into a 9 miner lift, then dropping down 1000’ into the mine, walking in the steps of the miners while your tour guide is a miner. Learning the history and seeing it in action will give you a better understanding of how important mining is to your life.

Highly recommend to anyone in the area! Definitely one of the coolest interactive tours that I have ever been to! The tour guide was awesome! He was very funny & informative. He gave lots of time for questions and educational information on the history of mining. Going down the mine shaft was a bit scary for me just because of the confined area on the way down but it opens up once in the tunnels. It is safe and honestly well worth the money! 10 out of 10 would go back

He was informative, patient w the little ones and a kind story-teller. Hope you get him as your guide! If your claustrophobic the mine shaft that takes you down 1000 ft in total darkness will get you. But if you hold a loved one's hand and just breathe slowly...you should withstand the 2 mins.

First tour down in to a mine. Was a great time and very informative. Well worth the price of admission and the trip just to see it. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Cripple Creek is just below the mine and your able to over look a working mine next door. Also you can start the phantom canyon road from here which will take you about 2 hours to travel.

This is a very cool and educational experience for all ages and will be unforgettable. This tour is about an hour long and will take you 1000 feet below the surface of what was once an operational gold mine. Each of the tour guides are all miners themselves and /hat gives them so much knowledge to share. They explain the types and ways of mining through the years and demonstrate actual equipment used. Today (Oct 15th) was the last day of the season for tours until next Spring. *Also fyi, service dogs are not allowed on the tour.

our guide was such a blast and the tour was awesome. these guys are so awesome and the admission price is well worth it to give these hard workers a living wage!! a whole bunch of sweethearts just doing what they love! was so freakin fun and one of the coolest things i’ve ever done! don’t want to give TOO much away, you gotta go see for yourself!

Definitely a must do if you're in the Colorado Springs/Cripple Creek area! Ben our tour guide was awesome and will explain everything to you about the mine. You can tell he really enjoys what he does! We felt it was a really good value for what you get out of it!

This place is absolutely amazing! Our guide (Sarah) was extremely knowledgeable & super friendly. She made the entire experience come to life.
We were a little reluctant to go but when we left we were so happy that we did.
Wear at least a T-shirt & shorts because my son wore his tank top and was cold. You can always bring a little sweatshirt too just in case.
Great place & a place where history comes to life.

This is a must tour. One of the best Mine tours I have been on - I have been on 6 different ones before. Teenagers loved it and small kids. Lots of information - love the small group tours. Wow what the miners of 1800s did to get this gold. Very safe feeling in mine.

What an amazing place! It is definitely worth the drive up there. Sarah - our guide - is the sweetest person, she’s so knowledgeable, professional & friendly! Don’t worry, if you’re claustrophobic, it’s not that bad. It’s a 2 min elevator ride to the bottom, and the tour down there is just outstanding. This gold mine has been operational since 1891! It’s cold up there, so keep yourself warm.

We did the Tour. We were lowered 1000ft down and did a 1hr walk through. We seen how kids worked the mines at 7yrs old to old men. The old machinery was shown to us on how it worked..etc.. Good Tour
A beautiful park with breath-taking sandstone formations and stunning views of the mountains, Garden of the Gods is a popular tourist destination in Colorado Springs. It's perfect for outdoor activities, with plenty to see and do, including hiking trails and a visitor center.
Breathtaking!! We arrived early and was able to get a good parking spot. The Visitor's Center was really informative and cool. The gift shop has some really nice items and the staff was nice. We walked the trails and took some amazing pictures. Nature is beautifully created. And it's free, you can't beat that.

Such an amazing experience! There are short walks and longer walks. A nice public restroom next to parking lot 2. The visitor center is awesome! They have a nice little gift shop and you can pick up a map there. It also has some amazing views too! It also has a little cafe if you want to grab coffee or snacks before going hiking.

Beautiful rock formations. You will be greeted with balanced rock with a narrow road to the visitor centre. The road is a loop with various scenic spots. I believe the place would be more beautiful during dawn or dusk. Great for hiking, walking or just being with nature !!

Our first stop was at the Visitor’s Center. The man at the information desk was helpful and courteous. Since we were pushing a baby stroller he pointed the paved route for us. The view from the Center is beautiful and a great place for pictures. It is a good idea to bring water. While the paved hiking is not strenuous the dry climate will leave you thirsty!

Such an amazing and majestic place. This was a great place for the whole family. The scenes are gorgeous and the kids loved climbing around on the rocks. It’s super clean and the paths are well taken care of. Add it to your “must-see” list. You won’t regret it.

This place is amazing. Such beautiful vistas, I could spend an entire day just taking it all in. You can drive your car up the road and there's a parking lot that meets a trailhead. The path is concrete and well maintained. In fact, the entire area is meticulous. We got a good way down the path and turned back because it started to rain. But this is a wondrous place that is good for the soul.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. No joke. There is something for everyone here! There are concrete sidewalks throughout the park, as well as more primitive trails with some elevation if that’s your thing. The visitor’s center is also very nice.

Fun experience walking around and seeing the formation of the rocks there and the surrounding areas. The park is kept very clean and tidy. You can see caution signs if you're not clear if you can go or do certain things. Maps are well placed around to make sure you know where you are at all times. People there are friendly and the views are even better. Everywhere you look is a sight to see. Traffic is not that bad, but I didn't go at their peak times. It was open till late, which was great as we got to see the sunset.

We visited on a Monday afternoon, not too crowded. The visitor center is really cool, all the touch screens actually work! The staff were very helpful and the gift shop has some cute stuff. Everything is very accessible on the paths, if you have a wheelchair or stroller you can navigate safely. It’s a great time and it’s free! The weather was great, just a little snow here and there.

Absolutely amazing place to venture. We spent hours enjoying the sights and could have easily spent longer. There are many trails. Animals to watch for. The restrooms are very well maintained, as is the whole park. Dog, kid friendly. There are areas that are not mobility friendly for wheelchair access and strollers, but there are plenty of other areas to explore that are.

It's absolutely beautiful. Did the Siamese Twins trail. It was a little tricky to stay on coarse. We started at the trading post, its probably better from the actual trailhead. the paths were clear but it just wasn't clear if you were on the correct path. The map was not too helpful. But we had GPS on so could always see where the trading post was and the other people on trail were helpful in letting us know if we were on the right track. But aside from that the scenery is absolutely amazing. We saw deer and a cute, way too accustomed to humans squirrel. And lots of cool birds. Could spend all day just staring at the beautiful views of valleys hills and rock formations. Super grateful there is no charge to enter, although we did our part by spending money in the gift shop and trading post!

It doesn't matter whether it's your first time or you've been a hundred times it will always be breathtaking and connect you with nature no matter what time of year it is! The drive is absolutely beautiful through the park. Trails are well maintained and many are handicap accessible. Access to Rampart Road will take you on a fun 4-wheeling drive.
Bucket list stop for visitors for sure. Beautiful trading post with lots of local gifts.

Unique, wonderful, picturesque place to go for a hike/walk.
Mountain Biking, there is a designated area for mountain biking.
Only downside, it is so popular that it can be a bit crowded and difficult to find parking at times.
Most enjoyable at off-peak times.

This was amazing. It was so cool to see and actually walk around and climb on these rocks. So many trails and spots to park. There are some trails that are shared with horses. So watch out for horse droppings. They even have picnic areas with tables so you can bring your own food and eat with your family and friends. Pretty cool to actually see and touch all that stuff. One of my favorite spots I found.

they have a cafe in the visitors center and a cute gift shop. there are plenty of paved paths to walk along around the park, along with dirt paths that are less busy. we saw many people climbing on the rocks and the weather was great so there were many animals wandering around. lots of birds too

My overall experience has been incredible here. Definitely not a place that you get to explore in a few hours or even a whole day. I'd say to plan the spots that you want to explore and revisit if you have time. If you are a hiker, on the map the Scotsman Picnic Ground has a great trail, just watch out for horse poop everywhere as this is a pretty popular riding for horse owners.

Such a beautiful place! I went hiking one day but didn’t get to see everything before the sun went down. I went back the next day to catch the sunrise and see what I missed the day before. There are so many cool things to see all over the place.
I went later in the day on the first day so it wasn’t too crowded. The same for the sunrise, there was hardly anyone there. So amazing that there’s no charge for this park!

It goes without saying that this place is beautiful. The visitors center was really nice all kinds of information about the area. It was a little bit crowded but it seemed to be pack with the kind of people who loved where they were so it was great vibes. My kids loved it and didn't want to stop hiking. There is a lot of area roped off I'm sure with good reason but i wish we could explore around off the path a little bit.

This was my first time in Colorado Springs and this is a must see. The park is easy to drive in and through. The actual area is at the foot of the mountains and not in the mountains. The terrain is easy to walk. I has areas for you to walk and many, many people do that. It has areas to bike ride and it also has places to horse ride. The are separated places so you can enjoy whatever you are choosing to do. You can drive through the area and it is a nine mile trip, I was told. You can take a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery. The trails are wide and well worn so that anyone can walk them. There is a lot of traffic but it is worth the effort and be ready to take pictures. You could definitely spend a day just walking and riding. Loved it. There is a trading post there as well. and the nature center is kinda nice but average.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Colorado Springs area. Best of all, this park is free to the public. Parking is free at the visitor center but it can fill up quickly during the day. There are plenty of parking spaces with free shuttle about 5 minutes from the visitor center. You can drive into the garden but there are limited parking spaces there.
There are lots of hiking trails but if you are looking for a short hike, the park rangers will recommend the 1 mile paved loop around the famous rock formations not far from the visitor center.
If you are interested, you can buy tickets for a 45-minute Jeep tour around the entire park for $20 per person. There are bikes for rent as well.
This park is open from 5 AM to 10 PM in the summer. We also visited the park the following day to take pictures and see the sun rise over the rock formations. It was beautiful and there were very few people in the park during sunrise.

Immaculate, breathtaking, mind boggling. These words don't even begin to describe the feelings you get when you try to think about how everything about these dwarfs your existence. When it comes to the time and resources at play to bring you these amazing views. Recommend watching the 15 minute video at the visitor center to get an idea of how these formations can't about.

Free to enter. I wished one of the main parking lots was bigger, it took awhile to find a parking space. You have to sit and wait for people to leave. Hiking is easy and you can go as leisurely as you want. It’s better to do this one in the morning to avoid the massive amounts of tourists coming. You can easily spend a few hours here.

No doubt this place is one of the best small hike locations to explore in the area. Lots of beautiful views and hiking paths. Bring water and make sure to stay hydrated. I would also advise proper shoes that cover your ankles and toes, the sand is red and will dust your shoes with a fine coating (easy to clean off, but be aware it's part of the experience) all in all, I highly suggest this park.

This place was absolutely beautiful. We made a trip out to pick up my daughter and she encouraged us to check it out before we left. Visiting Garden of the Gods was an awe-inspiring experience. Nestled in Colorado Springs, this natural landmark boasts stunning geological formations, with towering red rock spires and balanced boulders set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. The beauty of the park is breathtaking, and the array of colors, especially at sunrise or sunset, is simply mesmerizing. The well-maintained trails offer easy access to explore the landscape and get up close with the unique rock formations. Each viewpoint and trail presents a new perspective of the park's grandeur, making it a photographer's paradise. The visitor center was informative, providing insights into the geological history and the natural ecosystem of the area. Garden of the Gods is not just a feast for the eyes but also a place that ignites the imagination and offers a peaceful retreat into nature. It’s a must-visit for anyone who appreciates natural beauty and geological wonders.

Climbing is epic! As a new outdoor climber, the grades are sandbagged. There are few bolts, we used trad gear on most sport routes. The first bold is often 15ft+ from the ground, may not be able to get it even with a stick clip. Not a place I would recommend for beginners, but for those up for the challenge, it is a playground of old classic routes with incredible views.

Incredible experience. We chose to do the audio guided tour in our vehicle. There are many places to park along the way and explore on foot. The views of Pikes Peak were great once the clouds clear.

Love the formations, but not all the tourists... we go when it's not expected to be bust, much better people wise. Big park, drive around to the different spots and park, lots to see. Don't step in the red clay mud, it will ruin your shoes.
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is an award-winning zoo with more than 750 animals across varied terrain. It is only ten minutes from the resort and guarantee genuine animal interactions.
This zoo is so good! If you're local I would definitely recommend a membership as it's a much better deal. We come every couple weeks and the kids are never bored. It's a bit of a hike in places so wear comfy shoes and I always bring my stroller for the younger kids and to pile our stuff on. Feeding the giraffes is always a highlight. Parking is free and they have a few options for eating but we always pack a lunch. Will definitely be returning often!

Best zoo I've ever been to! The animal enclosures are large with shade and running water. You get to interact with the animals not just stare at them from a distance. Feeding the giraffes was amazing! My kids were excited to stand right next to penguins, wallaby and feed tropical birds. The best part is that the zoo has a timed entry which really helps control the crowd size, we went on Memorial weekend and had zero lines.

I've been to the zoo 3 times in the past year. It's hands down the best zoo I've ever visited. The giraffe feeding experience is so exciting for all ages. But they have several other animal feeding experiences as well. They teach you a lot about conservation with their amazing staff and daily demonstrations. Time entry also keeps the crowds to a minimum so you can get up close with the animals. The Wallabies hopping around at your feet is one of my favorite attractions. And their Primate area is top notch. With informative employees all around to answer questions and teach you more about conservation. The views are breathtaking, and the food is great as well. I recommend the BBQ place first, but the others are also good 👍 and don't forget to visit the Shrine of the sun after the zoo, it's worth the drive up and included in your entry to the zoo.

Fantastic zoo! The giraffe exhibit is my favorite part! Getting to feed the giraffes is such a cool experience! But be sure to walk around the exhibit to feed the giraffes away from the entrance! They want lettuce too! Lots of walking at this zoo, and a decent amount walking up hill. Brings lots of water!! And sun hat and sunscreen highly recommended!

Incredible zoo experience! The exhibits present in a more natural environment being on the side of the mountain. All the zoo staff we have encountered have been very friendly and knowledgeable. The food court is awesome! Very easy to navigate and great prices for what is offered. The sky ride is a must as long as you're not afraid of heights. The view at the top is absolutely beautiful. The HUGE win associated with this zoo is the ability to feed the giraffes and have that interactive experience. The kiddos absolutely love it and adults do too!

COZY AND UNIQUE LITTLE ZOO! LOVE GIRAFFES? MUST SEE!
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a little out of the way but well worth it. I've been to tons of zoos but this one was unique in its location and a far more relaxing experience than some of the larger zoos in the states.
If you love Giraffes, this is a must stop. There are eateries on site with amazing views from decks and a one-of-a-kind view from the gandola lift up and down the mountain.

Amazing zoo experience. Just WOW to the people that trained the Grizzly bears. They are so trained and is so fun to watch. I felt like a kid watching that. Besides that organization in the zoo is perfect. The water fans are amazing for this summer season. The feeding experiences are with it. Highly recommend

I loved this zoo! What a beautiful day it was. I enjoyed feeding the giraffes ($3 or $5 bundles). They've got other animals you can feed as well. It was a little crowded today. Definitely recommend it to others. Parking is free. Remember to purchase your tickets in advance too.

I am only giving 3 out of 5 because they have the sky ride. That’s a major bonus. If it didn’t, I would give 2/5 based on animals and presentation. Staff was nice and helpful. Also, you can feed the giraffes, hippos, and elephants during certain times of the day which was pretty cool. You can pet the goats and giraffes fairly easily. It is high elevation so required comfortable shoes. You can pay $3 for all shuttle.

It was one of the best zoos I have ever visited. I like that they have a set number of allowed visitors per day, which helps to keep the zoo less crowded and allows for a better quality exploration process. You definitely want to buy tickets in advance because there is no chance you get them at the gate. I have to say, tickets are very reasonably priced for a large zoo like that. Plus, they have military and senior discount.
We ended up walking around the zoo for hours. There is so much to see and do! Excellent location for the whole family. You can feed giraffes and budgies, admire elephants, and rhinos, enjoy the picturesque views of Colorado Springs and Cheyenne Mountain during the Sky Ride, and much more.

This is one of the best zoos we have visited. The fact that is is built on a mountain was amazing. We went on 10/8/2023, the weather was great and the animals were active. Their enclosures seemed like their natural habitats. But even if the animals were not as active, the scenic views are breath taking. Love how they made look out spots to take the sites in. I have already recommended this place to other friends and family making a trip to Colorado Springs. We are from Bryan, Texas and would definitely go again when we make a trip back that way.

This zoo is one of the best I have been to. It’s built on the side of a mountain and it is so beautiful. The highlight is the 16 member giraffe tower which you can purchase lettuce to feed them anytime from opening to closing. Plus check out the animal encounters, they are fantastic! Some of the animals will even paint you a picture during the encounter. I highly recommend them. Check their website for details. You can easily spend the day.

Was great to be able to finally visit after hearing wonderful reports of the experience.
Visited with a toddler and a 7 year old who loved the experience especially feeding the giraffes (take cash for the lettuce) and the budgies!
If you have a toddler bring a STROLLER or something they can be carried with or your biceps are going to get a workout at altitude!
For any South Africans feeling homesick you can see the penguins from Boulder Beach!

It is very windy near the entrance but gets better as you go. The zoo is 6,000 feet above sea level, so dress warm 😀 gloves are a must, especially for the little ones. Overall, the zoo is very nice and well built they also have a nice selection of places to eat and shop. We will be back on a warmer day 😀.

The thing that sets the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo apart from other zoos is the number of ways you can get up close and interact with the animals. Most animals have feeding experiences (giraffes, tigers, elephants, goats, chickens, birds) that are reasonably priced compared to similar experiences at other zoos. There are also multiple ways to interact with the environment as you make your way around (two interactive plays areas, beavers dens, caves, large sculptures to climb). It felt like equal parts modern art gallery and zoo in places and made for a great immersive experience. Many of the animals were active while we were there and staff went out of their way to interact with guests and answer questions about the animals.
The only underwhelming exhibit, IMO, was the reptile and bird house. It had more of a pet store vibe looking at the snakes. For how well designed the rest of the exhibits are, I felt like they could do more in there.
If you want to buy food they offer a decent selection of standard zoo food (burgers, pizza, hot dogs, ice cream), although prepare to pay zoo prices. I appreciated that they sold specialty coffee drinks at the Cozy Goat that were decent. We went at lunch time, and while it was hectic and busy, the line moved quickly.
Be prepared to walk! Lots of incline walking because the zoo is in the side of the mountain. I loved the unique views this provided and the extra exercise, but for those not able to walk far, they offer a shuttle around for $3/day.
The ski lift wasn't operating when we went, but looks fun! There's also a carousel to ride for a fee.

Seriously the best Zoo we have been too. You get up close and personal with a lot of the animals. They take great care of all their animals and it's a very clean zoo. My favorite is feeding the giraffes and seeing the penguins up close! We are locals and bought a yearly family pass because the savings are amazing and we get to visit often! Well worth the trip, even in the winter!

This zoo is definitely one of a kind! We got to feed the giraffe and walk up the mountain for amazing views. You could also feed elephants during specific times, but we missed that. There are also restaurants here to grab a quick bite or something to drink. Word of advice is to dress comfortably and bring your own water! Sunscreen is a must and definitely bring sunglasses and / or a hat!
Mae Bangtan — Google review
This was the best zoo I have ever visited. Of course the giraffes were amazing. (There are so many and many people fees them right by where by food but walk down and around the circle and they are on both sides hungry). There fans and water stations everywhere. Kids 4-16 loved it. Each animal area has a "play area" like a hippo that sprays water, jungle gym by monkeys, alligator play. The interactive place has a 🦥 sloth just hanging above your head!
VERY IMPORTANT- it is a timed ticket entry. We arrived at 10 and were not able to get ticketed entry until 1. We went to old Town Colorado Springs and walked around and got ice-cream. (Recommend getting tickets ahead of time). We brought our wagon full of drinks and snacks in a bag and no one said anything. Highly recommend.

The variety of species on display was truly impressive. It was a joy to observe these incredible creatures up close and learn about their behaviors and unique characteristics.
The staff at the zoo were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate.
To top it all off, the zoo provided a clean and well-maintained environment for everyone to enjoy. The pathways were well-marked, making it easy to navigate, and there were plenty of rest areas and refreshment options available.

Fantastic zoo. I've been to both the Omaha and San Diego zoos and while those are also great, there was something special about this one. It felt much more intimate than those. The layout of the zoo is great and you really felt like it was an experience. It being on the side of a beautiful mountain certainly helped the ambiance. It felt more natural than most zoos. Highly recommend.

What a great experience! We came late Sunday afternoon to fill our day in CO Springs and this place did not disappoint. The cold kept most of the crowds away so it felt like we had the place to ourselves and it seemed like the animals loved the lower temps too because every enclosure had active and moving animals. The indoor buildings were spaced perfectly that when we felt chilled we could duck right in and warm up. The staff was also very friendly and helped me get some great selfies with the penguins while they were out too!

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is such a unique and beautiful zoo to visit. It is the only zoo that is built upon a mountain side. This makes this particular zoo very unique because of the elevation change that you get when visiting the zoo. You can be higher on the mountain side and look over the rest of the zoo sitting below you. They have a lot of very spacious and well put together enclosures with many different and unique species of animals. I would highly recommend visiting the giraffe feeding area, where they is a tall boardwalk setup that you can walk around and be at the giraffes height and feed them by hand. I've visited many zoos and this one is probably the most unique and cool zoo to check out.

I've been to several zoos but never expected one so nice at this high elevation! It's very well maintained and has more giraffes than any zoo in the country! My granddaughter loved feeding them! So did my wife! You can easily spend several hours there, and there are several places to hide in the shade on a hot summer day. This place is really worth seeing!

Great Mountain zoo. A new experience! Views are awesome. It’s at around 6700 feet and tucked in Colorado Springs. Tickets around $30. Shrine was under renovation so could not visit. They could have put that up on website. Saw many Giraffes, elephants, couple of mountain lions, and variety of animals. Plenty of restrooms. The whole park is few miles of walk.

This zoo is AMAZING! 5 star experience. Beautiful, clean, lots of interactive areas, clean bathrooms at every turn. Reasonable food prices. Very active animals and friendly staff. Feeding the giraffes was so fun and the first thing you walk in to upon entry. We’ve been to several larger zoos but this one takes the cake. Winding paths up and down the mountain made it unique to other zoos.

I've been to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo a total of four times while I was stationed at Fort Carson, CO. I got the privilege of visiting the wonderfully cared for animals on Christmas day 2023 during the beautifully orchestrated Electric Safari event; I've been to two Electric Moonlight events; and one "regular" visit with my mother. Nothing is "regular" about this zoo!! Every time I got to visit, it was a new experience! I highly recommend a membership, and the advance ticket system works splendidly! All the staff is warm, kind, knowledgeable, and professional - you can tell they love the animals! The interactive experiences are fun for all ages!

This is an AWESOME zoo! There's a big variety of animals and several opportunities for animal interaction. You can feed some of the animals and many of them you get to see up close. The tiger walked right up to the viewing window it was great. Big animals like elephants hippos and rhinos, small animals and reptiles like snakes, lizards, penguins, birds and many in between. It is up and downhill but it's so worth the walk.

This is a must do when in the area. Feeding the giraffes was definitely a highlight, but having the pleasure of almost being nose to nose with mating penguins...AMAZING!!! I absolutely recommend driving up to the shrine (this is included with your zoo pass admission) as a delightful addition to the zoo. They are a non-profit that does not rely on tax income. So feel free to spend 💰 for a good and fun cause.

The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park is a 360-acre amusement park situated on top of a canyon, which is spanned by one of the world's highest suspension bridges. The bridge was built in 1929 and spans 1,260 feet across the 950-foot-deep Royal Gorge. The park was greatly affected by a wildfire in 2013, but has since been rebuilt with attractions such as aerial gondolas, rides, and a theater.
We arrived to Royal Gorge Bridge and Park after a snow storm the day before. The weather was beautiful staging a nice sunny day. This historic landmark was worth the almost two hour drive to get there. While most of the activities were closed due to winter maintenance, we were lucky enough to have been able to ride the gondola. The gondola alone was worth the cost of the ticket of admission. The landscape continued as far as the eye can see, beautiful gorges and canyons that you could have taken in for hours. For those that are scared of heights, I have a fear as well and managed to walk across the bridge with comfort. Don’t let fear keep you from experiencing this park.

What an amazing view! I really enjoyed the day. Consequently, there was a storm coming in, so we were not able to ride the gondola across the canyon.
The Park Ranger Michael was so kind. He gave us a really nice history of the park, and let us know if we came back the next day our tickets would still be valid.
The Raphtor Show was really educational.
The landscaping is pretty.
It was worth the drive! Go check it out!

Entrance fee is $32 per person and that includes unlimited gondola rides. It won’t take too long to walk around the park if you don’t do the zip lining or the rafting tours. It took us about 2.5 hours to get food, walk the bridge, see the shows in the theater and take the gondola back to the visitor center. The view from the bridge is quite amazing and a little unsettling if you look through the gaps in the wooden planks. Definitely stop by the theater and watch the bird show.

It is definitely a beautiful area! Today the gondolas were closed because of high winds! The winds were in excess of 40-50 mph. It was cold with the wind chill but beautiful!! We also watched the movie on how the bridge got its start and how the fire in 2013 effected the area, as a lot was completely devastated by fire! Everything had to be rebuilt around the bridge. Thankfully not much of the wooden planks on the bridge were damaged by the fire. But they are now presented in front of the building that houses the ticket booth, restaurant, restrooms and gift shop! Enjoy your trip!

Last time I visited here was about 15 years ago, so it's been awhile! But it was as awesome as I remember it being from back then! Although they were still allowing cars to drive over it back then, I definitely like it more now that it's mostly pedestrian traffic. I highly recommend reading the history of the bridge on the walls to the left hallway once you get past the ticket area. General admission tickets include the red gondola ride, so go get on that! And if you're brave enough, go do the zip line! Love this tourist spot and it's always really cool to see engineering masterpieces like this!

It was a great experience! We bought the tickets there! But actually, you can buy it online for faster entry! And the main thing is the Gondola rides! The zipline and the skyline! The bridge is the main reason! The cafe has good food! At a reasonable price! Make sure you apply bug repellent!

Adult tickets are $35pp and it includes the gondola across the gorge, when the whether is good. We went two hours before closing and it was a bit too windy, so we couldn’t ride the gondola. It was a beautiful walk across the bridge, with every state flag, people zipping past on the zip lines and flying back and forth on the swing. Looking down over at the river and train track was really wild, as you could feel the bridge move because of the sway in the wind. Definite must see!

During our visit to Royal Gorge, Colorado, we enjoyed the complimentary gondola ride that came with the entrance ticket. The bridge itself was stunning, and we loved the breathtaking view it offered. The zip lining and sky coaster activities provided thrilling experiences. At the ice cream store, we found the best vanilla ice cream on the mountain. The bird show was also quite enjoyable. Additionally, they had a theater presentation showcasing the history of the bridge. Overall, it was a decent experience, but we felt it didn't quite live up to the hype.

Great experience, the general entry is around $25 bucks, they offer military discount. Great view. You can add other recreative activities, (you paid extra for them).

We spent the night in Canon City and was able to arrive at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Just as it was opening for the Day. We quickly purchased our tickets and proceeded to walk across the Bridge. Seeing and hearing the river almost 1,000 feet below was amazing. As you walk across the bridge each states flag is displayed and I had to stop and get a picture with the Virginia Flag (my home state). The views from the bridge are spectacular and in almost every direction. As we approached the south side of the bridge, we saw a several big horn sheep scampering around on the rock. Our ticket included a gondola ride across the gorge which afforded us a spectacular view of the Bridge and gorge. Because we arrived early there were no lines and we were able to enjoy the Bridge and the other attractions at our leisure. Several people in our group did the Sky coaster thing and the zip line. They all said they were totally amazing. All the employees that we encountered were polite, Professional and went out of their way to be helpful. Like most attractions the concessions prices are inflated. $3.00 for a Bottle of water is in line with most other attractions. All total we spent almost two hours here and had a most enjoyable experience.

This is absolutely a must if you are near by. We went on a Saturday morning with perfect weather and not busy at all. We road the gondola over to the other side first then it was a down hill hike to the bridge to cross back over. Once on the other side we did the swing that swings you out and over the canyon. The walk back over the bridge is breathtaking experience. The bridge does move a little side to side once you are in the middle. And the wood planks are a little loose for a better experience. They have a great Cafe and food court and a gift shop as well. Great facilities (Bathrooms, food, drinks, gifts, attractions, and lots to do) like I said this is a must go to.

I went to the Royal Gorge in the '70 when I was just a kid. It's obviously changed since then (fire) but in general it's a long bridge over a very scenic gorge and was enjoyable to walk across. I don't agree with the fee to do this though, but I guess it's private and they can charge what they want. The parking is free though.
We got there a few minutes before it opened and there weren't a lot of other people, which was nice. We talked about doing the zip line but when we saw that it was only a single ride across the gorge, we didn't think it was worth the money. There is a lot of walking, and it can be very steep on some walkways that have clearly seen better days. We walked across, then walked up the hill on the other side to the free gondola and rode back. The scenery is gorgeous and you can spend as much time as you want. We also sat through a short film and looked at the history (all on the other side from main entrance) and these were nice. We did not eat or buy anything beside popcorn for the film.
I'm glad I went, as I've fondly remember going with my family in the '70's. Just too bad it is expensive for a family to experience.

A fun place to take out-of-state guests.
Ever want to induce vertigo for the family member you don't like while making memories everyone else will enjoy forever? Or are you an adrenaline junkie who loves dangling by a small rope over a huge drop? Either way, this place has you covered!
The view in late spring / all summer is gorgeous. It feels like you can see beyond the horizon from the bridge.
Walk over the historic bridge or enjoy a brief gondola ride to the other side where the brave few among your group can zipline across or swing out over the canyon.
Like your feet on the ground? Grab a snack and let the young ones run wild in the large park or go in circles on the merry-go-round. Adult beverages are served on-site to make the natural beauty just that much more enjoyable.
This is a must-see destination for those visiting the state or even just locals in the area for a weekend.

An awesome experience! The bridge was a little scary to cross but well worth it. A quick tip that I wish we knew: the bridge opens at 9am but the gondola doesn’t start until 10. So get there at 9:50 and take the gondola across first and walk the bridge back because then everything is downhill walking wise. Also buy tickets online in advance to save $2 per person.

2nd time visiting this remarkable bucket list item. THIS TIME we were able to purchase tickets and go through the various shops, movie auditorium for the 17 minute program.
We elected to "walk" to the south side across the bridge and look down at the canyon. AMAZING views on both sides of the bridge lined with state flags. Wow, not for the faint of heart and not in shape people. There are some super steep winding grades going UP the hills to get to the attractions.
Took the Gondolas back to the north.
To me, the price of $70.00 for 2 adults is too much. (minus 1 star)

I've had the opportunity to visit several times, but this time of year was my favorite (September). The weather was perfect, not hot/cold nor too windy, and it was not crowded. We actually got to ride the gondolas this time, and it was superb. Everything from the views, bridge, and educational video made it a great family experience. So, regardless of the time of year, I hope you make time to visit and don't forget your comfy shoes.

Just spent an absolutely wonderful day at the Gorge. It is so much more than a bridge and worth every penny. The staff were so helpful and polite. We visited the restaurant/cafe located by the gondola and enjoyed both the food and hot drinks. We could and would have stayed longer but rain and wind stopped play. Thanks to all the staff for making everyone's day a memorable one.

The day we picked to visit was pretty miserable weather wise. We arrived a few days after a monster snowstorm. It was roughly 38 degrees with 40mph wind gusts. My husband paid about $130 for the four of us to visit. Unfortunately, to my surprise, there was loads of snow on the bridge. I understand it cannot be plowed because it would damage the wood. There was about 2 feet of snow and we were walking in tire ruts that were partially cleared at best. We had to sign waivers prior to entry. Considering the weather and conditions were poor.... And the add-ons (zip line, gondola, and swing) were closed, perhaps you could offer a discounted entry fee. $35 a person to walk back and forth across a bridge is a rip off. We had a high interest in visiting this historical man made achievement despite the adverse conditions and overpriced entry fee. It is truly an engineering marvel and the views were breathtaking.

The ride coming here is very scenic and memorable. The view is very beautiful and incredible. The long on the bridge is very scenic and all of the state flags. The zip lining was great and it’s a good way of seeing all of it. Location and parking is easy to find.

Definitely glad we made the trip here. Breathtaking views. The whole park was very well laid out. We took a ride on the gondola. Definitely suggest it as you can get some amazing photos. Also DONT look down between the boards on the bridge 😅
Well worth the cost of the pass. Make sure to get a pic with your states flag while on the bridge!

Fun and great experience. Nice and accomidating staff. Wheelchair accessible gondola and other parts of the park. Food is expensive and average quality so plan to eat before or after.
Always one of my favorite places in Canon. The road is pretty narrow and steep, but once you get to the top the view is amazing (especially at night!). Highly recommend anyone passing through to check it out.

This short but exhilarating free drive is located only an hour southwest from Colorado Springs. We drove it during sundown and was not disappointed by the views. You are literally driving along a narrow ridge line. There are several spots to pull off and park. There are also several hikes at the top where you can walk along the ridge with amazing 360 views of Cañon City and the mountains. Do it at night and you will get beautiful views of the city lights. Overall the drive is super short but if you stop and do some of the hikes it can take around an hour depending on speed and frequency of stops. Definitely a quick must do if you’re visiting COS, Cañon City or Pueblo.

If going to the Royal Gorge Bridge, definitely take some time to check out this drive. They are some amazing views along with a few spaces to stop and explore. Be aware that this is a one-way road, and you’ll drive with caution. Just don’t look down too much when driving.

My husband & I drove Skyline Drive in September after going to the gorge. Wow! This little drive is terrifying. The double drop-offs were a total trip. I don't know why but it felt like we could just fall off the edge of the earth. Exhilarating. We didn't stop but it was only because I just wanted it to be over. I was freaking out a little. We want to go back and do it again. We'll definitely get out of the car to look around a little more on the next trip.

Definitely don't take your eyes off the road. It's a narrow road with steep drop offs. The road was built in 1905 by inmate labor. It's a one way road that rises 800 feet above surrounding terrain with some beautiful views that only the passengers can see.

This place is great and it’s absolutely free. Super short simple drive from Pueblo, the views are amazing the parking is ample even when it’s busy and it’s truly unique. Take your time and pull
Over often to really get in the view. At the top there are some light hiking trails so you can climb even higher.

A one way road that goes up a steep ridge that offers some parking spots at the top, about halfway into the drive, in that area there is also some access to trails that go around the area. Overall the drive and experience was worth it and offers great views of the Canon City and the surrounding areas. The landscapes in this area of the state are really pretty. This drive does not take very long at all, if you didn’t stop at all it would take less than 15 minutes I’d say. So stop by and do it if on the way to the royal gorge or driving into canon city.

Short & sweet drive with great views of Canon City. It’s a must-do for anyone who loves heights + scenic panoramas. There’s multiple pull-offs + a few short “trails”/walking paths to explore as well.

Free drive over the mountaintop, not too narrow for a regular sized car. There are stopping points at least two. But you kind of drive up to the skyline start to go up the mountain, and drive down to the other end that winds around to exit into a neighborhood. No turn around point. So you pull in and you have to drive across to exit. It’s not as scary as it sounds in my opinion.

HA - Yup, this is a bucket list item. The 2 1/2 mile UP the mountain and down is a GREAT view of the entire town and surrounding mountains. WOW.. Like others have mentioned there isn't ANY room for errors. I recently found out that this skyline drive was actually built by inmates from Canon City Prison. VERY COOL.
First time, I drove this on my BMW 1200 GSA motorbike and this time I drove this in my F450 with the wife on board. Only ran into 1 issue where someone parked on the road and I couldn't get around until they moved. Nonetheless, the F450 is 19.5 Ft long. Restrictions on this road are no vehicles over 20ft and speed limit is 15 MPH. Take the trip, you won't be disappointed.

Who knew there were sand dunes in the mountains of southern Colorado. I've vacationed all throughout Colorado when I was young with my parents and as adult with my wife and daughter. The sand dunes are NOT what you see at the beach. It's an amazing experience to see and interact with the sand. You can hike up to top. You can rent sleds and or boards to slide down the sand dunes. The park is open 24 hours. However the visitors center open for specific times and days. The Great Sand dunes admission is $25 per car load. I recommend during the summer go early in the morning before the sand heats up. At night you can see the stars and on a full moon the dunes come alive, but bring a flashlight.
The Park Rangers are helpful and friendly. Plan to visit when you're in Southern Colorado.

This is a hidden gem. It seems like nearly no one knows that there is a national park in the middle of the Colorado mountains that has miles and miles of sand dunes. Yes it feels like and looks like you are in the middle of the Sahara desert but you are in the mountains of Colorado! It is truly eerie that there are 700 foot sand dunes that you can climb and literally walk for miles in sand dunes in the middle of the Colorado mountains. But be prepared for a tough hike up towards the top, the 2 mile hike feels like four since you are walking in sand. Yes it is a bit off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip. Truly a must visit, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Sandy Silverman — Google review
Beautiful national park with great views! It will be windy, so prepare accordingly. Also a hike on sand takes longer so if you’re going up the dunes give yourself ample time. However there is plenty of flatter terrain to hike as well.

When we went the visitor center was only the gift shop. All of the exhibits and theater were closed, due to Covid, so we weren’t able to have the full experience. You can buy your souvenirs here. NOTE: they do NOT sell or rent sleds or boards here. If you are planning to sled or board, you must buy or rent beforehand. I’d like to go back sometime to experience the rest the visitor center had to offer:

I have been wanting to see the dunes in Colorado for a long time. They were pretty cool to see. I wasn’t able to climb them this trip due to a recent knee repair surgery but hopefully one day. The people were climbing up then sledding down. It looked like a lot of fun. It’s well worth the stop yo see. Again, it was a little less than organized. There were signs but there was no one around to explain anything or ask questions unless you went to the visitor center.

Tourist trap. It's decent enough, crowded, and the ac isn't great with all the doors opening all the time. The exhibit is neat inside. Didn't go to shop, but some peeps in the crew bought stuff. Water refill station is great (wish there was more than one).
The signage on the trail is not maintained, but the views are great.

I'm so glad I read reviews. People are not kidding when they say get there early. On a week day. Not a holiday
We've traveled on a motorcycle from Richmond Virginia to the Grand Canyon and we are slowly heading back east. This National Park was on our to do list. It is Saturday, Memorial weekend. There was a 13 minute backup delay at the entrance going in at 10. Coming out at 12:30, the line of cars stopped, waiting to enter, is over a mile long. CRAZY!
The park rangers were not letting cars go down to the parking lot to the dunes, because it was full. We were allowed to go down on the bike. Otherwise, its parking on the side of the main road and walking a half mile or more.
Once we parked, we took off our shoes, rolled up our pants, walked across the rushing stream and went up the first hill. The water was cool, inviting.
Families are all around, kids digging in the sand, splashing in the water. It's the beach in a vast, land locked area.
Definitely worth the trip. I cant stress enough the importance of going early. On a weekday. Not on a holiday.

The Historic Arkansas Riverwalk is a 1.3 mile loop on a 32-acre urban waterfront in downtown Pueblo. Completed in October 2000, it features family-oriented activities and events, such as boat rides and concerts. The walkway has many historic buildings along the river, which was returned to its original location after being diverted in 1921 due to a devastating flood that destroyed Pueblo.

The historic riverwalk was really nice just to walk about at 8:00am in the morning, as was the adjacent downtown area. So many sights to see along the way. There were so many trees and lanterns that made it feel cozy and inviting. It is a shame that the water was not filled, though I am sure some of it might out of fear that the pipes would freeze in wintry weather.

Great and quiet place without crowds. We enjoyed ourselves here. No wait anywhere during the peak season is a big plus. Beautiful design along the river walk. Very relaxing and lots of picture points. One point deducted is because we had a hard time finding an open public restroom anywhere around the riverwalk. The bathroom doors were all locked for some reason while we were there. We ended up purchasing some drinks in order to use the bathroom in a restaurant nearby. So a heads up for others.

The water is gone in the winter - so no boat tours or paddle boats (and sometimes there's a bulldozer scooping up icy mud from the bottom) but it's still a nice walk, not too big to do all in one go and lots of art to see and a few restaurants. Reminds me more of Oklahoma City's than San Antonino's. Extra charming at night!

The wife is from Pueblo and I am not a fan of visiting...it's a pretty run-down city and has crime issues. However, with things like the Riverwalk maybe things are turning around. The place is an absolutely stunning place to take a walk. Very well kept and maintained and if you were brought blindfolded you would NEVER know you were in Pueblo. Worth the trip to the city for this alone! Sadly most of my photos are on my camera but here are a couple I took on my phone.
Taos Pueblo, an ancient settlement belonging to the Taos-speaking Puebloan tribe, is located about a mile north of modern-day Taos, New Mexico. It is considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in America and features twin five-story adobe complexes situated on either side of Rio Pueblo de Taos against the stunning Sangre de Cristo mountains. These buildings are believed to have been completed by 1450 AD and serve as a prime example of ancient Pueblo architecture.
Taos Plaza is a lovely public plaza with many craft shops and cafes, as well as a relaxed atmosphere. The plaza is located in the heart of Taos, which has a rich history and cultural scene. The scenic drive from Santa Fe is breathtaking, and the changing vegetation with altitude is amazing.
Free parking behind the plaza!
Lots of small soups filled with art and craft, restaurants and coffee shops.
Less of a buzz compared to Santa Fe but also less of a tourist trap.

This is a fabulous location to walk around and explore. The buildings set against the blue sky is gorgeous. The feeling of the place is exotic and historical at once, and also sad.
I won’t go into detail on the history but it is heavy to walk around and know how we treated some cultures and that that treatment continues through today.

So, you know, I don't give one star ratings without serious thought... I was SAD to shop here. I had been here YEARS AGO, and had consistently great experiences. This time, I walked through the plaza shops and found that 98% of the people working the businesses had the personality of a WET NOODLE. I was actually looking to spend some money and was either ignored completely or placated. A greeting, or eye contact goes a long way. One young lady in a store was reading a book and NEVER LOOKED UP to see me or anything. Must have been a good read! Of ALL the shops, there are TWO I would consider returning to and spending some money. One on the north east corner across from the restaurant that offers museum quality items and the other on the south side of the plaza that sells rocks and minerals, they get 5 stars and will see me again. Hoping to write a better review next time:(

Spent the Winter Solstice Christmas shopping at the Taos Plaza. I love the shops and convenience. Shout out to op. cit. books, my favorite used/new bookstore anywhere, and Chokola chocolate shop. And always love World Cup Coffee.

Stop here for parking, it is mettering parking, but my meter doesn't work. Easy walk to most museums and stores. Free parking available aling rt 64 and at the Kit Carson park with restrooms.

Beautiful little town. Architectural wise, it’s the same like most other NM old town. The town is full of Indian jewelry. It’s like a tourist trap to lure them in to buy. Couple nice coffee shops and stands. It’s a good town to walk around if the weather is nice.

Beautiful place, would highly recommend seeing this. Felt very safe. Street and walkways were a little uneven so that's just a FYI. Beautiful things for sale. Really enjoyed it

If local shops, history and some great little cafes and dining spots are your thing … spend the day at Taos Plaza to get some good walking in. Very walkable and nice learning for insight how the town of Taos came to be.

Happened upon this funky little shopping center when I happened upon Taos on a random road trip. Fun times and the car show that was occurring upon my arrival made it even more of an impressive backdrop! Quite the collection of ancient vehicles as you can see from pictures. Go here if you want that good ol' stereotypical southwestern shopping vibe for sure.

Once a beautiful location to visit. Now a dump with about 1/3 of business empty in the plaza. Taos used to have so much character and ambiance, especially the plaza. Now it's just a notch above Espanola (sorry, Espanola). Run down locals hate anything that improves the area. Had someone try and build a decent hotel a few years back, they vandalized his business. You would think with the reputation Taos has they would have good hotels. We've stayed in a few there and again mediocre at best. What's going on Taos? You were once the darling of the state now just a run down highway stop. Love NM Just disappointed in what Taos has become. Long time NM resident....
Absolutely stunning pottery and very welcoming people. We were shown around and learned about the artists specific process in creating these delightful pieces. We got the cutest cups there and cannot wait to use them. Highly recommended!

We’ve visited JoAnne and Kevin’s gallery twice so far and the selection is simply amazing. They are true artists who have mastered their craft, and the colors imparted to the pottery from their wood fired kiln are really beautiful. The pottery that’s available ranges from artistic to functional, all very high quality, and most importantly they are so helpful in explaining the different aspects and features of whatever you’re interested in. Initially, we just happened to be driving by and saw their sign, then decided to make a u-turn and go back, and it was such a fun experience. Definitely a highlight of our day!

This place is INCREDIBLE. A must stop on your way to Taos. It was so cool getting a tour of the process and getting to see how much work goes into each piece. I could have stayed in the gallery for hours. Also I am obsessed with my new mug!

Such beautiful pottery made by the kindest and most talented artists! The pieces created by Kevin and Jo each have a unique story and I am always in awe of the gallery space each time I visit. Very excited about my new pieces and can’t wait to return!

I had the pleasure to meet Joanne and Kevin, two very special artisans. They took the time to share their craft and part of their story. The pottery they each produce is beautiful and different. Everything fired with wood in an oven Kevin built. The ash and heat produces the most beautiful pieces. They have such a wide variety from coffee cups to large vessels. I bought several pieces. I plan to buy more in the future. I am so grateful to include Kevin and Joanne in my life.

Saw this spot as we were driving through and decided to stop. Denise gave us a lovely tour of the shop and taught us some about their process! Everything seems to be crafted with a lot of care and intention. I’d definitely recommend stopping by!

We came across Enchanted Circle Pottery during a road trip and it is an absolute must visit destination if you’re in the area! JoAnne and Kevin were so welcoming and it was amazing to be able to tour their studio and learn about their process. Their work is absolutely beautiful. True pieces of art. And I fell in love with the beautiful features of the wood firing process. We bought several beautiful pieces that we will treasure forever and will definitely return whenever we’re in the area!

Real treat meeting Kevin at enchanted circle pottery. He gave us a nice tour of his shop, kiln room and gallery. Kevin is a talented potter making well crafted, functional wares. The light weight pots were a surprise for wood fired pots. Definitely worth a visit and don’t forget to take home a beautiful piece!

What an incredible experience. Denise walked us through the entire process. We toured their working studio and learned about their wood fire kiln. The gallery is warm and inviting. The pieces are carved beautifully and the colors created by the wood fire are gorgeous! Definitely worth the stop!!

Beautiful studio, owned and operated by super friendly and lovely artists. I am so glad we stopped by to take a look at their studio, gallery and kiln. Thank you Kevin and JoAnne for sharing a little bit of your great love for art and ceramics knowledge with us.

Beautiful pottery. I’m in love with what I purchased here (plates and bowls). They look gorgeous in my home and are magic to eat from. Owners are lovely. Worth the drive outside of town if you are visiting Taos.

An absolute treat - art, a great view, and wonderful people! The folks at Enchanted Circle Pottery were so nice, and they had so many wonderful creations. They even gave us a behind the scenes tour! The colors in their pottery are purely from the fire. No dyes or oxides! Their meticulous firing process creates the rich array of colors. Every piece was truly unique. Each mug was even a slightly different shape, so you could find one that fits your hand perfectly. Along with amazing art pieces, there were inventive practical pieces like mug warmers, cup lids, and silverware display vases. We came home with several pieces and wonderful memories.

Lovely visit to Enchanted Circle! Beautiful location and pottery. The owners, Kevin and Jo, are so friendly and showed us their kiln and process of how the pieces are made. Tough decisions--so many beautiful items from very large to small--something for everyone! We love our soup mugs and ice cream bowls!!!

We visited several places in Taos and Santa Fe but Enchanted Circle Pottery was the highlight. Kevin gave a quick tour of their Japanese-style wood firing technique (what a lot of work!). The pottery included both functional and beautiful works of art. We came home with several pieces, a great coffee mug, a vase, and a sculptural piece to grace our living room. I'm sure we'll be back.

We stopped by on our drive home from Taos and were so surprised to get a tour of this amazing studio. The wood fire kiln is massive and the ash glazing technique creates such beautiful and unique colors on the pieces. We got a beautiful set of bowls. Great stop!

Day trip around the Enchanted Circle Loop had us stopping at the Enchanted Circle Pottery Studio. What a treat to see their 22 years of invested time building their home, studio, wood burning Kiln, and a place to see great art being made. As an old Potter from the late 60s, it made my knowledge seem very small at best.
Kevin, if you read these reviews, one of my other five lives was 8 years of boat racing termining in Blown Fuel Jet Drag Boats...sending you a photo to prove it was me.

Friends of ours recommended we stop by Enchanted Circle Pottery on our way back to Colorado Springs. We're so glad we did! Artists Kevin and Jo were delightful! They gave us a fascinating tour of their huge "train engine" kiln and their beautiful studio. We bought several pieces, and plan to return soon! Great functional art, as well as exquisite display pieces. Their unique wood-fired clear glazing process produces one-of-a-kind natural finishes. Well worth stopping in!

My husband and I set off on a scenic drive when we happened upon Enchanted Circle Pottery. Kevin greeted us like we were old friends and graciously showed us around while explaining how they came to be and the unique process they use to achieve the beautiful finish on their pieces. We selected a few pieces to take home, but this unique olive oil bottle is my favorite. It is gently “squished” in the middle to fit in your hand. Thank you so much Kevin and Joanne!
National park featuring a dormant volcano with hiking trails around the base & in the crater.
This is definitely worth a visit. If you are going by on the I-25, its not that far a detour to go. The whole area is fantastic with little craters and peaks. The drive up the volcano is lovely, with amazing views. Once you get to the top, the hiking trail around the rim is a must do, but it is quite strenuous. However its worth it for the views. This really is an amazing landscape and really unique.
The visitor center is nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit here.

It’s a nice easy drive to the top. Expect high winds. Really great views, but I don’t recommend hiking the rim in 60 mph winds. Inside the bottom of the crater was nice, but not the views for 50 miles

Capulin Volcano National Monument is a unique and fascinating destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The volcano is an ancient cinder cone volcano that offers a great hike to the rim, and the views are spectacular. The visitor center is a great starting point to learn about the volcano's geology and history. The park staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend a visit to Capulin Volcano National Monument for anyone looking for a unique outdoor experience. The park also offers great opportunities for bird watching and wildflower viewing.

I have been wanting to stop here for decades. I finally did it, and it was better than expected. I showed up at 8:30 on a clear morning. I hiked the rim and into the crater. Such amazing views, especially with the snow covered mountains in the background. Really cool.
I enjoyed watching the deer run around in the crater.

How often do you get to drive to the top of a volcano, get out and hike the rim or go down into the vent? Stunning views. Rocky mountains to the north and volcanoes and lava flows to the west.
Staff at the center are awesome and very knowledgeable. Say hi and learn about the area.

Great place for a quick hike around a volcano. I highly recommend the short walk down to the crater. We would to have loved to have hiked some other trails (like the rim of the volcano) but the wind was out of control the day we went.
The drive to the crater is kind of intense as you drive the mildly windy road with a drop off and hardly any guardrails…though the scenic views of New Mexico are picturesque and worth it!
Can be a quick trip and hike down to the crater, just a drive up to the crater, or a day trip spent hiking and exploring the volcano.

Beautiful place to stop along the drive through New Mexico. Unplanned stop but so glad we saw it in passing! If you have kids with you make sure to do the Jr. Rangers program for a badge. Fun drive up to the volcano and super cool hikes down inside and around the rim. Loved it here!

On a road trip, I saw the sign and had to stop. I was unprepared for this and could not make the hike in good faith (no shoes/water/sunblock readily accessible) but very happy I stopped by.
You check in at the visitor center to show your pass and collect a map and then drive to the top parking lot where two trails are easily marked and ready. They post the estimated time to hike and if you come prepared, the views would be amazing. The pictures posted are readily accessible to anyone and worth the trip.

This is one of my favorite places that I never expected to encounter. Found this in passing while I was driving to visit my son in Colorado. A freaking volcano in New Mexico!
This was my second trip to the volcano! There is a trail that takes you down to the volcano vent and another trail that takes you around the rim. Both are very steep and will give your legs and lungs a workout!
That said, the views are amazing and worth the burn!

Great stop before you get to Colorado! 20 dollars to get in but if you're a vet or have a National Park pass it's free! We enjoyed it so much we came twice in one vacation! The rim trail is 1 mile long and a great leg stretcher! We stopped at the ranger station and checked out the video and history on the volcano! We enjoyed it!

Great area to explore. The office has a gift shop, museum, and a theatre for viewing the history of the area. The employees were friendly and informative. I had to buy a t-shirt as they have nice designs. Wear good shoes for hiking. It is right off the highway a couple miles. Lige is too short to pass up the history of our planet. God Bless, from the little blue jeep

There's a trail around the rim of this dormant volcano that's well worth the effort involved in taking the one mile walk. It's steep and the air is thin, so take your time. The views of the crater and the surrounding lava field / plains are incredible.

We’d never visited a volcano before and saw the signs off the highway on our way back from Trinidad. Very friendly staff. Drive up the volcano and took the short trail down. Easy going down but for those not in shape, it is a hard trek back up. Because of that, we didn’t get to hike the rim trail. We did love what we saw though. Very interesting. Would love to come back and do the longer trail next time.

Capulin Volcano is a hidden gem for those seeking a serene escape into nature's embrace. My recent visit during the winter season left me enchanted by the tranquility and beauty of this natural wonder.
Despite being the off-season, the park was not busy, allowing for an intimate exploration of its breathtaking landscapes. The snow-covered trails painted a picture-perfect scene, transforming Capulin Volcano into a winter wonderland straight out of a storybook.
What truly made my visit memorable was the warm welcome and hospitality extended by the Park Ranger on duty.
Navigating the park's trails looked like a delight, but it was too icy to attempt the small hikes. From the rim of the volcano, I marveled at the vast expanse of the dormant crater below, a testament to the earth's raw power and beauty.
As I ventured deeper into the park, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of peace and wonder wash over me. The crisp winter air, the silence broken only by the occasional rustle of wildlife, created a sense of harmony with nature that is truly unparalleled.
My visit to Capulin Volcano was nothing short of extraordinary. Whether you're a nature enthusiast seeking solace in the great outdoors or simply looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of winter, Capulin Volcano offers an unforgettable experience that will leave you in awe. A heartfelt thank you to the Park Ranger for their hospitality and dedication to preserving this natural treasure for future generations to enjoy.

Beautiful place. I was only passing through, but decided to stop and see. I drove right up to the entrance and realized it was $20 to get in to see it. Seemed silly, as I was already looking at it and had been for 15 minutes while I drove there. I got out and walked around a little and did some meditating, and had a great experience. It’s probably a lot better if you pay to get in, but I had a great time there anyway!

It has been quite a while since we were here but we love this park and want to go back. There are hiking trails down into the volcano as well as along the rim. Be prepared for extreme winds on the rim. Some of the trail is completely exposed and the sudden gusts could make you lose balance. The views here are absolutely beautiful. You can drive part way up the volcano to a parking lot where there are restrooms. This provides amazing views and you may see some wildlife. We arrived as the park was opening and saw several mule deer on our drive up. We also saw a herd of Pronghorn ib the distance. The hike around the rim is definitely worth the effort. There is a visitor center that has some souvenirs and restrooms. There is no camping here. Definitely worth a visit.

A fantastic day trip with several relatively short trails around lava flows, the crater rim, and down into the crater. The views from the crater rim are breathtaking and the hike down into the crater is an interesting experience.
The roadway to the top only has a few spots with guard rails, but it did not feel unsafe. Drive carefully and enjoy the views once you’re on the top.
Overall, I would highly recommend a detour here on a road trip.

Absolutely beautiful views from the top of the Volcano. You can walk the top rim all the way around and even down to the bottom of the crater. Walking the rim is a 45-90 minute walk, and the crater path is 20-40 minutes. Totally worth the $20 a vehicle to go to the top.

Amazing views! Breathtaking! We got to the top around 3:15. They cut the trails off at 4:15. We were able to circle the mile long crater loop in 30 mins. It has an elevation change of 305ft.
The trail to the bottom of the crater is .2 miles & a change of 105ft. Bring water & a something for your hair, it's windy.
