While the park remains open all year round, visitors can access full services from mid-May to mid-October, with July and August being the peak months.
Beautiful beach and National Park. This is typically a summer and tourist destination and can be quite busy. The beach is great in season, but the overall area has much more to offer. There are walking trails and bike area that can be utilized the majority of the year. Service are only provided in summer months, so be sure to plan ahead. Well worth exploring and spending some time.

Our family (group of 7 adults) came to the beach on Friday August 12, 2022. It was a beautiful day, and not super busy. At the main “boardwalk” before the stairs & ramp down the the beach, there were accessible change rooms and washrooms, lots of picnic benches to rest or have lunch, and and ice cream shop. We spent a couple of hours here, swam in the ocean which was cold, and enjoyed the silky sands! I’d recommend coming here but hopefully on a day where it’s not super busy! 😊
Victoria Cronkwright — Google review
Beautiful sand beach lined with large sand dunes with with distinct red sandstone cliffs. Well maintained boardwalks with natural pond areas and wildflower meadows, we were visiting as Hurricane Lee arrived so the were lots of dramatic crashing waves and strong winds… still beautiful though. The shower / washrooms were well maintained and incredibly clean. The only downside was that a few areas were tapped off due to walkways being broken and broken information signs.

Beautiful beach, a short walk from the parking lot. Soft sand, beautiful foods, and fun to play in the waves. Walking up and down the shoreline is a great way to spend the afternoon.

I can’t say enough of this beach. It remind me of Nice in France except better beach. Water is warm and Sandi. The red sands it’s breath taking and the view of the red rock combination with green land and small lakes around it. This beach it is much visit!!
Haleh Magnus — Google review
Had a really enjoyable time here. Nice facilities that were clean when we were there. I think a 4.5 is a better rating as the beach is quite rocky and hard to enjoy for swimming. That said the sandcastle making was lots of fun. Overall beautiful views, just keep in mind the trees in the area show evidence of the hurricanes that have come through.
Also, check out the Sunset and Stars hike put on by Canada Parks.
Nick Kottelenberg — Google review
The beach looks spectacular and very calm, and most people stay there. But don't overlook the beautiful boardwalk and red rock cliff area where we dip in and see many small crabs.
On the downside, it is somehow hotter or more humid than other parts of the island.

Amazing! The views at Cavendish beach are stunning!
Perfect place to spend the day relaxing or to take a nice walk.
The swimming is also great.
Lots of parking and pet friendly.
On my list of must see Island spots.

Amazing park - there is a small fee to get in, but definitely worth it if you're here for an entire day. There's a large parking with several buildings in the main area, picnic tables. There's several trails to get to the beach, dunes, oceanview lookout, small lake. On a busy day, definitely want to come earlier to get a great spot.

Fun little drive here! I’m sure it’s extremely different when in season, I can see that this little town will come to life. Still nice to visit when it was empty and quiet though!

Absolutely majestic beach, warm salt water, gorgeous sunsets, calming red light therapy, the sand dunes are huge, and well kept. Lots of parking. Picnic area. Easy to access boardwalk to beach, wheelchair ♿️ accessible. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. It's been a long time since returning to Cavendish and man oh man these sunsets & this place doesn't disappoint. A must to see! 🌅

Staying in nearby Moncton which we made our base for visiting Hopewell rocks, the Magnetic Hill and this beach here on PEI, we arrived on a windy September day, which turned very sunny in the afternoon. We have not realised, that crossing the long bridge between the mainland and PEI will have to be paid upon returning to mainland and is the most expensive fee we paid for crossing a bridge, at 50.25 CAD!!!
Reaching this beach involved lots of turns via small country side roads, with the map opened on my phone. Being late September, after Lee storm (which kept us awake in Halifax earlier) the beach had no access fee and there were lots of coaches bringing old tourists for a stroll on the beach.
The beach is very long and there is lots of info there on do's and do not. Even the water was warmish and I saved 2 caterpillars blown by the wind to the sand: one decided to further poo on my finger, I guess that is nature gratefulness, right?
Beautiful views in all directions and this area is left unspoiled which I like. Would I come back in summer time though? Not really, I prefer to stick to the provincial parks around Toronto for daily escapades and if I really want a holiday in the sun, probably I would chose quieter locations southern USA/Gulf of Mexico/Caribbean. There are lots of great locations to discover further.

Beautiful beach. They are working on making it access to get to. There is a lookout point that is accessible and the ramp down to the beach looked to be under construction. The trail we walked was really nice. There were warnings for poison ivy. And we did see A LOT of poison ivy. There was an entrance fee but they provided us of a map of the park. Dogs not allowed on the beach but they are allowed everywhere else on a leash.

The glistening shores, framed by gentle dunes, create an idyllic backdrop for relaxation and exploration. Whether you're seeking a serene sunset stroll, building sandcastles with family, or taking a refreshing dip in the ocean waters, Beach Cavendish caters to a variety of beachgoers. The proximity to nearby attractions like Green Gables adds to its charm, making it a must-visit spot for those exploring the island. Just remember to pack your sunscreen and a sense of wonder as you bask in the beauty of Beach Cavendish.

Pretty spot on the Gulf of St Lawrence. Easy senic drive from Charlottetown. Beach was very accessible and had lifeguards.water wasn't too cold and that surprised me! Great day trip.

This was an absolutely beautiful visit!
The beach is gorgeous and it's nice to see the sand dunes! Although, the water is absolutely freezing so be prepared! The beach is big with lots of space so if you want privacy you can move further down the beach.
You can walk down the trail nearby and visit other parts of the beach further away which is nice to see as well.

This is the main beach, it’s even cleaner and has a boardwalk with outside showers and access to beach. I absolutely love this beach 🏖️ There is free parking after 6pm once the office closes. Anything before 6 you have to pay a park entrance fee. There’s a picnic area and also a small food stall with insanely high prices
Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park, also known as Flowerpot Rocks due to its natural pinnacles and arches, is a coastal park located in Hopewell Cape within the Bay of Fundy. The rocks have been eroded into twisted shapes by the sea and are an other-worldly sight to behold. At low tide, a two-kilometre beach appears on what was once the ocean floor, providing easy access to the 20 wave-formed stacks via a wheelchair-accessible ramp.
The are breathtaking.
We arrived around 1 and the tide was still out. We didn’t mind, but it would have been nice to see how far out it goes so if you want to do that then plan accordingly. The walk to the rocks is about 10 minutes depending how fast you walk(might be about 15 if you’re a bit slower). It is a little bit of an uphill walk back up. We stayed around and ate at the cafe while we waited for high tide at 4:30. It seems like a fair amount of time to stay at the rocks.
Highly recommend!

You do not need to book tickets in advance like Tobermory!!!
There is a huge parking lot available free of cost.
Approximately 35 dollars to get it and if you want the shuttle it's 2 dollars per person one way.
It's a steep descent and the shuttle is highly recommended for older people or for those with disabilities.
The shuttle runs every 5 minutes and is a lovely joyride.
The park is well setup with trails and off course the rocks.
They have bathrooms and a very nice gift shop on location.
There is also a museum in the main building where you can learn all about Hopewell Rocks.
The rocks themselves are a great experience where you can walk on the ocean floor during low tide and come back later during high tide to see water gushing all over where you were during low tide.
Fantastic picture spot and I sure did go crazy clicking away.
It's a lot of stairs down though to the ocean floor - so be prepared.
They do have vantage points in case you cannot use the stairs.
I believe there is both a low and high tide everyday.
Nigel Peters — Google review
Very cool experience in NB about 45 minutes from Moncton. It was interesting to walk on the ocean floor and then see the tide rise and make such a difference in 10 minutes!
We arrived at around 10am in July when the low tide was around 8am. Even then the tide was quite far out from all the rocks and we leisurely explored for over 2 hours. The high tide was around 2pm but at noon there was still lots of time to explore the floor.
I suggest you wear either sandals or waterproof shoes as it does get quite muddy in areas. I wore sneakers and they did get dirty but there’s a large shoe cleaning area at the top of the stairs to help everyone wash off.
Parking is abundant with one of the largest parking lots of maritime attractions. There is also quite a large gift shop and exhibit in the building just past the gates. All the staff was very friendly and was more than happy to answer your questions and talk about the ecosystem that you’re walking through.
The site is pet friendly and also very accessible. There are mandatory metal stairs to the ocean floor but there are multiple view points for people with mobility issues.
This is a must see attraction in the province! Even at around $16 per person (+$2 for a shuttle to skip a 15 minute walk) I would say it was a very cool experience

Visited during low tide the day after a new moon. 🌑 Incredible landscape. I’m from Oregon and found myself in awe of how similar yet different the landscape was. So many rocks! Watch out for the mud and check the tides. Despite the official website warning visitors that the park is closed in the offseason, you can visit.
B.A.P. — Google review
Beautiful place.. but when going, make sure you know when the tides are in and out, the first time we went it was high, we weren't allowed to go down . We took our receipt back and we were able to go down the next morning. I recommend that you pay the 2$ or use a token to use the shuttle.
Mornings are best.. have fun
Stephanie Dawn — Google review
Exceptional natural beauty. Absolutely recommended. Visit at low tide if you want to walk between the rocks. Check their website for tide tables.
We walked down to the Flower Pot. The trail there is about 1 km and has a gentle slope that should be doable for most people. From the platform you can take a staircase with a few flights of steps down to the beach itself.
Once at the beach, I recommend first walking to the right until the end, which is a few hundred yards over stones or slightly muddy patches, then walking back, continuing past the staircase and walking to the far left end of the beach where a ramp takes you back up to the trail. This way you will see all the rocks.
Given the soil, I recommend wearing walking shoes or Wellington boots.
If you prefer not to walk, there is a paying shuttle service from the park entrance down to the viewing platforms. A one-way trip costs 2 CA$ per person and toddlers are free.
People in wheelchairs can ask the park attendants to get access to the parking near the beach. Getting down to the beach itself is possible via a wheelchair accessible ramp (the same one as described higher) but riding a wheelchair on the beach itself will probably not be possible.

This was pretty cool to see, make sure to arrive at or near low tide as this is the best time to be able to walk around and appreciate how far the tide is out, very interesting to see. As the tide comes in the staff start to close off areas of the beach that are starting to flood. we watched for a while and then came back latter when the tide was all the way in, A great way to see the extremes. There is a shuttle of sorts if you want to take it bring cash. Gift store etc., bathrooms, nice walk to the staircase going down to the sea shore. Highly recommend 2-4 hours

Very much a must do if you are in the area..even if its raining. Just remember to come at low tide. Picnic areas and restroom in the parking lot. Good food in the cafeteria. Really nice staff. On a sunny day the $2 per person shuttle may be worth it on the way back, but in the rain it was very much welcomed both ways. Memories will be made here and are a requirement.

Hopewell Rocks is a cherished destination for me and my furry friend. The descent down the trails is smooth, thanks to their excellent maintenance, allowing us to savor every moment of the journey. Arriving at the bottom, we're greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of the Bay of Fundy's iconic rock formations. From the lookout points, we're treated to panoramic views that never fail to captivate. It's a haven where nature's beauty shines, making each visit a treasured memory to hold onto.

Nice place, clean, well managed.
Must plan your trip as per tide timing. Do book for kayak in advance - we didn't get one day in advance and had to skip bcoz of tight schedule.
$14 per person entry fee, valid for two consecutive days.
The canteen/cafeteria is also good and reasonably priced.
Anuj Sood — Google review
This is totally worth every dollar to go! The view is amazing and even though it is busy there are more than enough opportunities to take fantastic photos. The hike / walk down to the rocks takes about 15 minutes and there is a shuttle that takes your down to the top of the stairs. You still have to take the 99 stairs down to the bottom! There is another area that does have a ramp to go down. At the rocks you will need to walk. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting muddy! Pets are allowed and no extra cost. There is an additional coat for the shuttle. It is $2 per person per trip and dogs are allowed on the shuttle. The line up to get in goes quick! Make sure you check the tide schedule before you go. We went August 2, 2022 from 10:30 am till 12 pm.
Shauna — Google review
There's free parking. The park has these walking trails. You got to pay the admission fee to get in. There's a shuttle buses service to get to the part where you're able to walk down the stairs I assume. There are toilets along the trail pathways.
Depending on when you go, they have different opening and closing times. We went in the earlier dates so the times were from 9 am to 5 pm. You can still enter the park even after the 5 pm closing time. You don't need to pay. And there is still parking available outside of the gates. But, you may not be able to walk the ocean floor, or have enough time to enjoy your walk of the ocean floor (and to take lots of photos).
Pretty looking rocks at high tide. Nice scenery. There are multiple lookouts to see the rocks and the nearby scenery.
3:00/3:30 pm for the day that we went, we walkes on the ocean floor. And we took many photos of the Flower Pot Rocks. We took photos of the other rocks, whose names I don't remember. We walked back and forth on the ocean floor, over rocks, through mud, and through watery mud.
It's recommended to bring and wear boots, like those rain boots, hiking boots, winter boots.

The guide we talked to was informative inside the information building. Told us about the wildlife and about the Hopewell rocks.
Would recommend you spend the day here, to see the rocks in high tide/low tide and to see the rocks when there's no tide.
TheArchitect — Google review
Great park. Fair entry valid for a couple days so you can experience both high and low tides.
The main hub area has play modules for kids. It's well maintained.
Gift shop and washrooms also available.
If you're going down to the Flower Pot Rocks, I'd recommend wearing shoes you don't care to dirty as they'll likely get mud on them. If they do, they have hoses and scrubs to clean your shoes at the top of the stairs.
Breathtaking views.

I loved everything about it! Admittedly seeing the extreme tidal change at the Bay of Fundy has been on my bucket list for a long time, finally getting to experience it did not disappoint. I definitely recommend the guided sea kayaking tour at high tide, but be sure to experience the difference at low tide either before or after, it's amazing!
Nathan Lemieux — Google review
Amazing day. Sun is out nice breeze blowing. Highly recommend this stop if in the area. The tide was going out, so there was a lot of mud but so worth going for a walk and seeing the shoreline. We spent 2.5 hours here before we knew it. I suggest going early to avoid crowds.
Nancy Benton — Google review
Hopewell Rocks offers breathtaking views, allowing you to witness the mesmerizing tides ebb and flow—a truly awe-inspiring display of nature's power. The sheer volume of water is a sight to behold. Keep in mind, though, that booking kayaks in advance is crucial to fully explore this remarkable coastal gem. Despite missing out on that, the stunning vistas alone make it a worthwhile destination for any nature enthusiast.

Absolutely amazing! The hike down was marked well. They offer a shuttle if you can't walk the 10 minute hike to the staircase. Your ticket is good for 2 days and you can come and go as many times as you would like. The walk along the beach/ocean floor was picture perfect. Wish I could have seen it at high tide as well.

This place is a must see! The views are amazing. We went at low tide and were able to enjoy walking through the rocks and walking to the water. It's super muddy when you go at low tide so wear old shoes or sandals. There is beautiful trails with lots of plants and fungus to see. You can also shuttle to and from the top. At the entrance to the experience there is a gift shop and tiny educational museum. We had a great experience.
Candice Dwornik — Google review
Beautiful park, well worth a visit. Walk the bay floor at low tide . Experience the bay of Fundy up close. Check tide schedule before heading out to make sure you arrive at the right time. Ticket is valid for 2 days so you can experience it during low and high tide. Hike down to the bay or pay extra and take to golf cart ( great option for those with mobility issues or tight timelines) $2 each way for the cart . To get to the bottom completely there are several sets of stairs ,there is a viewing platform for those you cant make the trek down . There is also a more accessible beach down the way but doesn't have all the interesting rock formations. Pay attention to the times of tides , if you get stranded your rescue will cost you a pretty penny. Restaurant and nice gift shop with a kids playground located at the top near the parking lots. Lots of bathrooms along the way. Good boots recommended as it's get muddy walking around . Boot cleaning station available.

well groomed walking trails that are accessible. portable toilets along the route washroom available at start and end of trail. foot wash station for after your visit to the ocean floor.

An incredible few hours spend here witnessing the lowest part of the tide, to start, with the gorgeous sunshine and gentle breeze… plus getting covered in mud, but that’s all part of the fun and adventure. Don’t go wearing your best shoes and clothes if you want to walk on the ocean floor.
We stayed long enough to then with was the high tide coming in until it reached its maximum, what a dramatic effect and difference it is, completely changing the landscape, it’s incredible and makes for some stunning pictures.
Be sure to check out the view points for gorgeous as well as the tranquil Plage de Demoiselles Beach.

Fundy National Park of Canada is a world-renowned high-tide park located in New Brunswick. The park experiences the highest tides in the world and features pristine forests, deluxe Brunswick campgrounds, and a tinge of Atlantic Canadian culture.

Everything about Fundy is special to me. Been going there camping my whole life in NB and it's my favourite spot here in the province, and now we take our kids to start learning to love it too. If you want that special time outdoors with your family Fundy has it all, hikes, ocean, camping, parks, and all of it is focused on nature and appreciation for the outdoors. Clean well maintained federal park, services aplenty and some of the best hiking in the Atlantic provinces.

Probably one of the coolest parks I've been too. Really nice during fall.
I completes Mathews head trail first. Lots of mud and exposed roots. Gotta be careful you don't hit a tree root and roll your ankle. There is a collection of walking sticks at the start of the trail. I recommend taking one (and returning it) for use during the uphill parts.

We were going to drive from Quebec to PEI with no stops in New Brunswick. We ended up staying in this park for 15 days and still felt like we needed more time! Unreal hikes without the crowds you get in other places. Campgrounds get VERY busy and loud but it is a great place to vacation. The Salmon River hike is great, and quiet. Waterfall hikes and hikes along Fundy Bay are also amazing.

This attraction is famous for its tidal rapids on the Saint John River, which offers an excellent opportunity for whitewater kayaking enthusiasts. The observation deck also provides an ideal spot to view this spectacular phenomenon. The Bay of Fundy's high tides, among the highest in the world, can result in significant variations from high to low tide of up to 16 meters or about five-story building equivalent.
No other visitors were here.
This is as seen in Wie is de Mol 2003 Episode 4.
It is quite the natural wonder to see. It is about a 45 minute walk from the hotel district of Saint John.
It's cool to just stand here and watch the water move.

It's unfortunate that such a rare natural phenomena plays second fiddle to things like the Irving paper and pulp company. It's a very interesting event to experience, but a pretty wretched environment to experience it in. A wrong turn into the private company lot showed there's so much more that's not visible from the public locations either

A must-see if you're in the area during high tide. Excellent views from both sides of the bridge, including a belvedere view. The site occasionally offers free guides. I would not recommend the skywalk because it is expensive and provides little value.

I went there with some friends and went on the boat tour it was alot of fun the people running it were awesome 😎 very friendly and helpful we really enjoy Saint John NB every where we went the people we're extremely friendly lots to see lots to do I wish we had more time when we went there to see more looking forward to seeing the place again

Tourist trap. Really boring views of something that is not that impressive. Party of the tour. Owner of the restaurant wouldn't let anyone just the bathroom despite having a tourist information sign on there. Seems shady. I could understand, but maybe take out the tourist sign or add out door stalls. My last favorites part of the tour

This is a must see. It’s important to take every at opportunity to learn from nature as you can. On top of that it’s pretty cool, and the view is great. The city really needs to figure out how to make it easier to navigate to the tourist facility because vehicles are consistently driving through the mill, which is unsafe..
Theresa Finn — Google review
This is a must-see when traveling in the area. It is not often that you can see a river change course, but that is exactly what happens here several times a day. At high tide, the Bay of Fundy forces the river to flow backward, then at low tide, it changes course and flows outward. This doesn't happen quickly. You will have to stick around for a while to see this.
Kenneth Davis — Google review
Reversing Falls Rapids is a Natural Wonder, also is the world’s greatest example of tidal impact upon a river.
Twice each day 100 billion tons of water, a volume equal to all of the world’s rivers … enters and exits the Bay of Fundy. At this location, water levels rise as much as 9 meters or 28 feet in a tidal cycle. Reversing Falls Rapids experiences two tidal cycles daily resulting in 2 low tides and 2 high tides. Each complete cycle is roughly 12 hours and 10 minutes. Between the tidal extremes is a calm period known as “slack tide”, this condition lasts for just 20 minutes and is the only time vessels can safely pass through the gorge.
Interestingly, five thousand years ago, sea level was 30 meters or 100 feet lower in this area. Native people living here at that time enjoyed an impressive waterfall!
Yen Yuan — Google review
A waste of time. Yes, this is a tidal river, but not with the visible force or volume many have written about, but perhaps with the spring melt-off.
We visited in early May, waited for high tide and were immediately disappointed.
Seems to be a bit of a tourist trap, and not worth the wait, or delay in your trip to other parts.
Can't recommend.

Missed the in tide but still a great place to visit.
Karen Plourde — Google review
We went and saw the water going over the falls the first day. There was actually a drop, hard to tell the actual height, of maybe 15 to 25 feet. Went there the next day and the water was going the other way. Went through a neighborhood to get a different view. There was a seal going with the flow. Looked like a labrador retriever out there floating along, but it would go under water for several minutes and reappear.
Tom Rueb — Google review
Reversing Falls Rapids is one of the few things to see in Saint John. Caused by the highest tides in the world in the Bay of Fundy, the river flow reverses and causes the "rapids." You can view the falls twice a day at low and high tide from the Fallsview Park viewpoint, on the Reversing Falls Bridge, or another vantage point that offers a bird's-eye view of the river gorge.

It's an awesome sight to behold. Be prepared to coordinate your timing based on the tide schedule for the best experience. St. John has so many things to do. We go up at least once a month and love it each time.
Mt. Desert Island is a large, beautiful island located off the coast of Maine. It is home to a number of villages as well as part of Acadia National Park. The island is known for its stunning natural beauty, which has drawn millions of visitors each year. Activities that are popular on the island include hiking, biking, and following nature trails.
The island has got to be my most favorite place in the world. It has everything from small beautiful towns to amazing hikes and long trails

The Mount Battie Trail is a picturesque hiking path that stretches for about a mile and offers the perfect opportunity to see seasonal wildflowers. Although it is steep when starting from town, one can enjoy better views of the Penobscot Bay and Camden by taking the trail from Camden Hills State Park. The trail itself is stunning, with great views that provide a beautiful backdrop for hikers. It's also an excellent option for families with children who want to explore and experience nature together.
This is a solid tourist attraction. There are lots of options here for pretty much everyone. You can drive all the way to the top and there is easy access to the views from parking lot. Also there are bathrooms at the top which aren’t terrible. There are also options to hike all the way from the bottom, or various points a long the trail. It isn’t a hard trail, but there are a lot of rock scrambles, if rainy it could be pretty slick.

I will start this by saying this area is a state park. So there is a fee but it's not an arm and a leg. Also for those who like camping there is a campground at the base. That said, let's continue...
Now two ways to get to the top of Mt. Battie. You can walk up, or you can be like me and drive up. I've done enough walking for the last 65 years:) Parking though will accommodate around 30 cars. And I'll be honest that's just a guess.
So once you're up there you get one of the best views of Camden harbor and Rockland that you could ever ask for. Also there is a small observation tower you can go up to get an extended view. If you're lucky you can watch eagles sailing on the up draft and they float around for a bit.
I would suggest bringing up a lawn chair. A lot of people don't and just walk around for a few minutes then leave. The best part is to sit and take it all in.
So if you're up in the area stop by. You won't be disappointed.
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a vast waterside area that spans over 250 acres of well-manicured gardens, including rose and meditation gardens, as well as natural landscapes and trails. It is a popular attraction for visitors throughout the state due to its stunning beauty. The garden features winding paths through forests, meadows and ornamental gardens with diverse plant species from around the world.
Beautiful garden and the troll exhibit adds the fun, wow factor!!! Also, they offer a free shuttle to get you close to trolls, so that is a wonderful perk. Smooth paths for the most part! Cute kids area with activities! Definitely worth a visit!

We spent 3 hours and didn't even hit all the trails. I can't imagine how much work it takes to keep it all up. I loved that the plants and bushes etc all had plaques so you knew what they were. We enjoyed all the hiking trails that there were to offer. Really loved the trolls... the information signs were very inspiring! Thanks for a great experience. Lot's of stuff to do if you have kids too!

We absolutely loved this place! There's so much to see, the price was very reasonable. I really enjoyed the honey bee demonstration the entomologist/bee keeper was super knowledgeable, wish I could remember his name to give him a shout out. They are also very handicap accessible which was great for my mother-in-law. They had at least 6-7 mobility scooters and wheelchairs as needed. You can see a large portion of the park on the scooters. Some sections are inaccessible by scooter but they have a shuttle to take you to those areas.

This botanical garden is stunning - so many places to explore on the grounds - flowers, shrubs, trees for all seasons. My favorite parts of the garden were the larger-than-life trolls tucked into corners throughout the property. Their stories were delightful and reminded me of my childhood. There was also a charming, whimsical fairy village, which every visitor can work on. There's a lot of walking involved, but shuttle buses come by often to pick you up if needed. I hope to make my way back there in the winter, during their light show I bet it is spectacular.

Incredible gardens! The trolls are a must see! So great for kids! There are so many magical spaces to explore and marvel at. Staff is always very friendly. Gift shop has some fantastic treasures, we all found something there.
I would like to note, the shuttle service was awesome! The drivers were all very accommodating and would come around every couple minutes to pick up points, which had benches. We had two little ones in our group and my father is an amputee, It was so nice to have a reliable shuttle as an option when we needed a break from walking.

We went when it had rained most of the day and we were still able to have a great time. For those with mobility issues, calling ahead can be beneficial to have a guided tour. There is a shuttle system that makes this experience enjoyable for everyone.

Lovely little botanical gardens. I was there in October and it was still so pretty. I can only imagine what this place would look like in the summer! Have wanted to see his work for years and seeing them in person is awe inspiring! Absolutely cant wait to go back again!

The Gardens Aglow event is spectacular! I would highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance as they sell out quickly! Kudos to the Botanical Gardens crew for their efforts to cap the crowds by only allowing certain number of people in. Because... It gets crowded really fast! And the kids are uncontrollable! Some parenting needs to happen because what I saw was beyond my wildest fears. Anyway, only a portion of the gardens is open for this event but you do get to see two of the trolls, which is cool! I would go with the earliest hour (I think it is 4pm) to get a bit of daylight and to also enjoy the lights after dark. Layer up! And even though the paths are well maintained, it gets muddy really quick! Definitely, I mean it is a must, to stop and get the Wild Blueberry Crisp! Don't know who came up with that, but it is Delicious!!! Popcorn is also sold on the way. It takes about an hour if you stop and take photos, or a couple of hours, if you leisurely walk and rest on the benches along the way. Worth a visit!!! Ah, remember what parking lot you parked at, they have letters assigned to them, so you don't wander around afterwards.

Such a nice relaxing environment. If you go during the weekend, reservations would be required. We didn't know but arrived at 9am on a Tuesday. Employee said they were not booked. So we lucked out. Very pretty landscaped garden. The trails were nice and wide. Markers labeling paths were noticeable. Employees wandering the property always said hello and asked if we needed any guidance. They gave a map when we entered which was detailed. Going in the fall was nice but I think I would have liked to go when a lot of the plants were in bloom. Finding the trolls were fun. Lots of rest stops along the way. Seemed like a lot of fun things to do for kids.

We had a great time here. Went with my girls age 3&5 in the later part of the day. Earlier in the day there are kids activities so don’t miss those like we did.
It was a lot of walking for my 3 year old but my 5 year old kept up and was excited to find all 5 trolls. She enjoyed the puzzle and finding the clues.
Cafe had a nice variety of snacks and pre-made sandwiches and salads (although a little pricey- $13 for a ham and cheese sandwich with lettuce and tomato). I’d recommend bringing a picnic if allowed as there’s plenty of scenic seating.
What really stood out to me during our visit were the park employees. Every single one was so kind and helpful and willing to entertain a conversation with my inquisitive 5 year old. I appreciate how each troll has an attendant to help with photos and keep the park guests moving. The shuttle around the park was also extremely helpful for tired legs big and small.
Overall it was a beautiful day and experience and I would definitely make the drive to come back here in the future. Really cool spot with lots of educational opportunities. Gardens are extremely well kept, you can tell there’s pride of ownership here. Clean bathroom facilities.

A very calming place to just walk around and see nature, my favorite part has to be the pond, it has frogs, turtles and even your occasional dragonfly. It's a good place to go if you have kids that want to explore nature more. They have a few trails that you can walk on too, they give off more of a woods feeling than the other stuff in the park. They even have a cafe where you can get food and drinks!

I have wanted to see Gardens aglow at Maine Botanical Gardens for a while, well, I finally got tickets this year! To say the least, this experience was definitely worth the 3 and a half hour drive up, I would give it 100/10 stars if I could! Gardens aglow was incredible, you round a corner and it just gets better and better! Not to mention the kettle corn, cafe AND the best fresh blueberry crisp/blueberry juice that scattered throughout the light path! I am just blown away as this was absolutely incredible and wayyy exceeded my expectations!! I will definitely be coming back next year with a few more people!! Thank you for all the hard work you all do to make this incredible experience for all of us!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good weekend getaway to see the Holiday lights. Get tickets in advance a month or so since slots fill up quick. Parking is decent but could get bad if choosing later times other than 4pm opening slot. Decent display of lights, get to see some troll sculptures also! Only thing bad is most paths are muddy if weather is wey, make sure to wear waterproof boots and bundle up as it can get windy in winter time.

Love this place! Great experience for everyone of all ages! We’ve been during the spring time and just went for the Aglow nights. During the spring, there is a lot more of the grounds to visit and you can’t forget the trolls! (My favorite part!) During the winter, they put up holiday lights and shorten the paths to make it roughly 1 mile to walk around.
The trolls are by an overseas artist(cannot recall name or place but they have a pamphlet with the info!). The head is created there then brought to the US and the bodies built from recycled materials! You can climb on the legs and they make for great photo ops. Usually everyone is very kind to take your picture if you ask! They also have a kids play area with a cute treehouse, a little mushroom hidden house, some musical toys, and some other things! During the warmer months you can easily spend 3+ hours here!
The grounds are always well manicured. We’ve seen the gardeners working and planning the layout a couple times, which was so neat! They also have a little butterfly house in the spring.
There is also a gift shop, restrooms, a little cafe with hot dogs, cookies, fudge, chips, drinks, etc. They had hot coco for $3 (small cup, maybe 5-7oz) during the winter lights too. During the spring/summer, there is a little trolley you can ride from stop to stop which is nice if you get tired or need more accommodation. I do recommend buying tickets in advance as they sell out sometimes! Especially the Aglow lights! The parking lot is nice and spacious and we’ve never had a problem finding parking! Sometimes you just have to walk a little bit (~2-8 minutes, depending on spot).

Always a good experience. However, the amount of people there made it hard to enjoy all of the aspects of Gardens Aglow. Long lines for photos with the trolls and the kids area. If it were warmer, we would have waited in line. No fault of the Botanical Gardens.

This place is beautiful and educational and fun! Great way to spend the day with your family. Bring comfortable shoes as it's a lot of walking on trails. There is a shuttle bus for those that need it. Buy a bottle of water from them. It's refillable and free to refill. There are filling stations but they aren't clearly marked. There is so much to see and explore here. Big enough to come back multiple times to enjoy it.

This was one of the best Christmas light shows I’ve ever been to. The gardens were beautiful and the lights were amazing. It was super rainy when we were there but there were a ton of people visiting. If I’m ever in the area around Christmas, I will be back.
Portland Head Light is a significant historical landmark located in Fort Williams Park on Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Commissioned by President George Washington in 1791, it is the oldest among the 52 active lighthouses in Maine. The keepers' house has been transformed into a museum that tells the story of the region's maritime and military history.
You must visit this exquisite place. You will pay for parking but it's nominal, I think we paid $4 for a couple hours. Get the Passport Parking app and you can pay right from there. You are able to explore the grounds and get right up to the Lighthouse. The views are unbelievable especially in the winter. Although the last time we saw it was in July from a boat so I could be wrong! I believe the actual Lighthouse was closed when we went so we just explored the trails around it. There is a Cliff Walk which runs along the cliff's edge that you can take. Be careful in the snow; it's very slippery! There is also a sledding hill with perfect unobstructed views of the ocean. Additionally there are many flat snowy areas to build snowmen or have a snowball fight. In the summer I can imagine picnics or just strolling around to enjoy the views. The neighborhood it's located in has beautiful homes if you're like me and enjoy looking at dream homes.

Be prepared for absolutely stunning views of the ocean as far as your eyes can see, waves crashing against the jagged rocks of the cliffs and a beautifully restored historic lighthouse perched high above it all. This is definitely one that you want to see if in the area. It was quite busy on the weekend and we could hardly get any photos without a ton of people walking in them. If you really want some great views of this lighthouse, make sure to take the cliff side trail. It’s well worth the short time it takes and you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views.

This place is beautiful. Free to get in to the park, just pay for parking ($2). Well maintained and worth the visit no matter what time of year. There is also a small swimming beach, an old fort to explore, and plenty of open grassy areas where I often see families playing with kids and dogs. Great spots for photo shoots. Plus there’s usually at least one food truck on the property.

This is our second trip to this iconic lighthouse (built in 1791), which is noted to be the most photographed lighthouse in the country. It is stunning, and no matter how many times you visit, you will stand in awe of how majestic it is. We have visited at least 50 to 75 lighthouses, and if I could only visit one knowing what I know now, it would be this one. A lighthouse is not to be overlooked.
Concession stands abound in case you get there and you forget to pack a picnic lunch.
There is plenty of paid parking.

This is attached to Fort Williams park. I made a post about the Park and all the comments apply to this post as well.
In addition, you can walk up to the lighthouse and see some historical markers, and the building and FOG HORN up close.
Unfortunately the BIG HORN did not blast while we were standing there but I imagine it would be loud and scare children and little dogs 🤣
The building is well maintained and the views are really stunning. We saw some sea birds in the ocean waters diving underwater but not much other sea life from atop the cliffs.
Bring a nice camera for the views and take plenty of photos.

Large expansive park with beautiful views and plenty of walking paths to occupy anyone for hours. Just go to walk or learn some local history of this area. It was very important during wartime and beyond. In the past there was a self sustaining community equipped with everything from a hospital to a swimming pool! Plenty of parking and easy to navigate around the area but couldn’t find any maps for the trails.

Beautiful picturesque light house with cool looking rocks facing the ocean. Before the lighthouse there was a hilly area where people had sleighs and were having fun. There was plenty parking and since it was a holiday, no one was attending the parking lot. I loved the color of the lighthouse and it had a beautiful view. I highly recommend coming either in the winter for sledding or in the summer for BBQ.

Visiting Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, ME was an absolute delight. The majestic lighthouse standing tall against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean was a breathtaking sight. The serenity of the surroundings made it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Walking along the rugged coastline, with the soothing sound of waves crashing against the rocks, was truly therapeutic. The historical significance of the lighthouse added an extra layer of charm to the experience, offering a glimpse into the region's maritime past. Overall, a visit to Portland Head Light is a must for anyone seeking beauty, tranquility, and a connection to Maine's rich coastal heritage.

Historic lighthouse located in a huge park with walking trails. There were three spots right by the lighthouse that were free parking, while the other lots were paid parking (via a parking app). Came here on a Wednesday and it was raining so there weren’t too many other people there. The museum wasn’t open when we went, but it was still cool to see the lighthouse from various angles. It’s a very picturesque spot.
If you walk along the trail (compact dirt track), you’ll come across a mansion as well as another area where you could picnic. There were also portapotties by the picnic area. The beach is rocky so wear comfy shoes if you’re planning on talking a stroll. There are benches along the trail if you want to sit and have a main character moment.
Overall, a great sight for first-timers and tourists.

Really nice spot to enjoy the view.
There is a rocky area you can walk on and sit by the water, or walk on a dirt road with a bunch of benches.
There is a parking lot for cars, and some electric charging stations. However, you have to download an app and there is no signal there so you have to walk around to get signal first then charge.
The staff is kind, and there is an ice cream truck nearby.

If you opt out of the museum it's free to roam about the park. It was a lightly rainy day and it was lovely. Make sure to bring a warm jacket for that cool breeze. The staff was super sweet. If you need to use the restroom the only ones are the porta potties around the parking lot. Enjoy a nice walk around and take plenty of pictures.

The lighthouse is beautiful. It is free to visit. There are lots of people visiting and taking photos. You couldn't go inside when we visited, but I don't know if there are times of the year when you can go inside. There are portable pottys there, which people were using, but I didn't, so I can't speak to how clean they were. There are walking trails on either side of the lighthouse, so you can see it from different vantage points as well. It's very pretty overall and I really enjoyed the visit. If you are in the area and get a chance to go, you should definitely go.

Beautiful piece of history. They have a nice trail that goes all the way around the park. I love that aside from EXTREMELY dangerous cliffs they haven’t completely blocked off rock or water access. They have the warnings but leave it up to you and your own common sense to decide if you want to venture out. There are history markers all over the place telling tourists the history of the place while many of the old out buildings are still accessible for adventuring. The only one you can’t go into is the old mansion but it’s literally a safety and liabilities issue. They haven’t put the dense so far around it that you can’t see into it. Had an amazing time!

🌊Beautiful View - Nature Trails, Flowers, Lighthouse🌊
I visited the Portland Head Lighthouse during a bus tour stop (and only regret not having even *more* time to enjoy the outdoors). This location served as a military based until 1964, and is now maintained by the Cape Elizabeth Historical Preservation Society.
The wind coming off of the ocean is so refreshing. Every angle of the lighthouse is photogenic. There's also a series of walking paths that branch away from the lighthouse (Fort Williams Park), including picnic benches, shady trees, flowers, and views of the ocean. If you're able to get out to the coastline, do it. The view, the weather, and the sense of calm are all well worth it.

The gift shops aren’t open but nonetheless the views are what I had imagined Maine looked like. To see it in person was even better.
I’d recommend bringing a lunch, sit and just enjoy nature and the chance to pause from the busyness of life.

Very beautiful place to just relax and inhale the sweet salty sea air. Very windy so it tends to get cold be sure to wear something warm.

We wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and liberate ourselves in the refreshing breeze and serene blue sea, so we headed to Maine for our holiday.
Portland Head Light is one of the highlights of Maine. As the oldest lighthouse in Maine, it offers breathtaking views from every angle. Picture a pristine white lighthouse standing tall against the backdrop of the blue sky and sea – it's an unforgettable sight.
Nearby, you'll find food trucks where you can grab delicious food, drinks, and ice cream to make your day here in Portland even better.

Portland Head Light stands as a timeless beacon of maritime history and natural beauty. Perched majestically atop the rugged cliffs of Cape Elizabeth, it offers an iconic symbol of Maine's coastal heritage. The lighthouse itself is a marvel of architecture, its sturdy stone walls and classic tower evoking a sense of strength and resilience against the relentless ocean waves.
Visitors to Portland Head Light are treated to panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, with sweeping vistas that stretch as far as the eye can see. Whether you're admiring the lighthouse from afar, exploring the surrounding parkland, or climbing the stairs to take in the breathtaking scenery from the top of the tower, every moment spent here is filled with awe and wonder.
The park surrounding Portland Head Light offers ample opportunities for outdoor recreation, from picnicking on the grassy lawns to hiking along scenic trails that wind through the rugged coastline. History buffs will appreciate the museum located within the former keeper's quarters, which offers fascinating insights into the lighthouse's rich maritime heritage.
Whether you're a local resident or a visitor from afar, Portland Head Light is a must-see destination that captivates the imagination and leaves a lasting impression.

Beautiful place!
Listed as the first lighthouse enacted by the federal government. A definite must see in your visit the Portland.
The park is massive, multiple locations to see but the lighthouse attracted all of us.
The waves crashing, the distant islands, the fast winds. All helped created a memorable experience
Hooligans Steak and Ale is a historic establishment located on The Pier in OOB, offering a unique blend of Irish pub vibes with a New England twist. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment including comedy shows and music performances. The pier itself features various shops, sports bars, and dining options, making it an exciting destination for tourists. While the food at Hooligans Steak and Ale is described as good, some find the portions to be small and prices somewhat high.
We love Old Orchard Beach. There were a few things open in April, but not much. It's worth mentioning, there aren't any public bathrooms open and neither are most of the restaurants. There were a few ice cream shops and a few other little trinket shops open. The pay and Park lots are also closed. There is limited amount of curbside parking and a few other places that have free parking. They do have 2 port-a-potties near the public bathroom if you're brave. Everything else opens May 1st. Regardless, the beach was wonderful as always.

This was our first time here. The walk out on the pier was crowded and entertaining! You can’t beat the ocean views. The restaurant had an extensive bar, no draft beer or bottles, only cans. I would say that is minor but my only fault we found. The atmosphere was beach like and old but it was not objectionable. The sliders were all open and there was a
Fantastic ocean breeze! Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Another thing we enjoyed is we did not feel rushed out after we were done. We had nachos and beer. The nachos were very good and the serving was large. We will definitely go back when in the area.

Beautiful views even in the winter. Beautiful boardwalk charm. Businesses were closed as expected. Still a nice place to take a walk by yourself or with your dog. Can't wait to visit in the summer

Bring cash if you want to use a restroom. If you're nasty, or cheap, the water the ocean is right below you. Water is cold even mid summer so plan accordingly for the cold water and ocean breeze. If you're old, sensitive to the cold or have trouble rewarming, I would go as far as bringing a couple blankets to help you retain heat as you try to rewarm. Don't go trying to die on the beach and ruin the vibe for everyone. That would be pretty selfish. Bring more cash (or plastic) to spend on all the overpriced souvenirs, amusement, food & whatever else you want to throw it at. Right now, I saw parking near here between $25/day next to the beach or you can save yourself a little by walking a block or two for as low as $10/day for you thrifty types that don't mind walking 5 minutes or so. During the day the beach was very crowded even on a Tuesday. Around dinner time people start departing to go grab some grub and go elsewhere. Evening was much less crowded and enjoyable however the sun wasn't as warm so of course the water felt much cooler. Warning: this is at a beach, so you may see some people in significantly less clothes than you would like to see. Just be prepared because some things can't be unseen.

I guess being on the pier where there are thousands of people, qualify of food would be lacking. I loved the location, but the food was definitely disappointing. I had a Ruben ( it was too dry and salty), and my spouse had buffalo wings ( i guess we can't expect too much outside Buffalo, but they were absolutely soggy)
The best thing was the blueberry ale
Blue paw by Sea dog- absolutely amazing! It's so light and refreshing with the perfect hint of blueberry

Haven't been here in over 22 years a lot sure has changed. Loved the Old Pier two or three restaurants and shops there. It was the tourist season so very crowded. A great area for families lots of amusements, food stands, shops, arcades and of course 7 miles of sandy beach to enjoy the beautiful Maine coastline.

Bad service and OK food. Obviously the owner is already in Florida being a snow bird. Been to old orchard 10 times. First time trying this place. Better places to go. Hey to the owner tell your staff to pick up some cleaning products or maybe a vacuum instead of sitting down eating and drinking

My family and I recently went on a trip here on a recommendation made by my daughter. Seeing as the family I went with are from a different state and I had never been before, we were all pleasantly surprised to see that there were many activities for us to keep busy with. The beach was beautiful, while the water was shivering cold, once we got used to it we were able to make great memories here. The amusement park was great, all the rides and games that were available was well worth the 2 hour car trip that we had to take to get there. There are many shops along the sidewalks, all of which are in close proximity to each other and are filled with souvenirs for everyone. One thing that I think could be improved is the pricing of the general area. The restaurant and shops, while nice in quality and quantity, have some truly ridiculously expensive items. My daughter and sister ordered two burgers with fries and wings, the total was over 70 dollars. The food was pretty good, but the wait time and pricing for it definitely was not worth it. Keep in mind, not all shops are like this, but you definitely need to go often to figure out which shops are best for certain items. I also think that the fact there are no free public rest rooms is a little ridiculous. The staff was very nice, but we had to pay 50 cents every time we needed to go to the bathroom. Some other restrooms were 75 cents. It may not seem like a lot, but for the amount of people in my family, thats about 7 dollars added to the trip. Again, it may not seem like much, but parking was 35 dollars,(later on in the night it was reduced to 20) over 70 for food, 30 for beach toys, (a bucket and shovel and umbrella) and about 20 for 3 ice creams which actually was the most reasonably priced thing here (the portions were ginormous!) Over all, the trip was enjoyed by everyone I had brought with me and was very relaxing. I would 100% recommend to someone and I plan on going again next year!

Awesome experience! Maria was an amazing waitress! It may not seem like much to most people but when I ask for water along with my drink she brought my wife one as well. Came back frequently enough to make sure we were taken care of. And when we got our loaded nachos she even went back to let the guys in the kitchen know that we were very impressed. And kudos to the bartender because they make one hell of a drink.

Not your typical beach town Pier, at least from the ones we’ve been too. There’s all kinds of shops, sports bars and places to eat all on the actual pier itself, which was cool. FYI, the bathrooms are .75/ea to use, which we thought kind of strange. We walked all the way to the end of the pier, realized we were very hungry and we decided to order some food for dinner and sit sit out on the Sunset Deck of the Patio Pub at the end of the pier. Food is good, but is kind of pricey and portions are somewhat small. You’re basically paying for the atmosphere and the scenery. It’s a great place to people watch.

Went in mid- September. The weather was great. They had a car show that weekend and the pier had a good crowd. Not everything was open, but enough to shop or dine. I love the rustic feel of it. People were friendly.

The Perkins Cove Rd is a picturesque and well-loved local street lined with shops and restaurants in the small town of Perkins Cove, Nova Scotia. The area is known for its natural beauty, offering stunning views of the ocean while also being close to many activities such as boating and fishing.
A quaint little sea side town. Sure, it’s mostly a tourist trap with all the shops, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t super fun and that I couldn’t find cute things. The smell of the ocean is amazing, and all the boats are amazing to watch folks work. Worth the visit. Plus, leads to the gorgeous Marginal Way.

Finally! I didn't have to be stuck in traffic in the summer to visit! I walked the Marginal Way trail from Stearns Rd, which isn't very far.
Enjoyable short walk around the Cove and across the bridge. Nice views of the ocean 🌊 and the fishing 🎣 vessels. I'm not certain how much parking 🅿️ is, but, space is limited and there is a parking 🅿️ meter to pay. Public restrooms available.
Restaurants and shoppes to check out. I only visited a cafe since my time was limited.

Atlantic Ocean swim area with day-rate & metered parking, bathhouses, an RV park & event facilities.
This is a good beach for locals or vacationers as it's usually well kept. There's an assortment of shoppes open in the summer and enough activities to spend the day here. The beach is beautiful in winter, the sunrises are just as stunning in February as they are in July. Worth a visit if you're in the area, but there are definitely better areas 20-30 minutes away in Maine.
If you happen to be visiting between May-August the center of sea creatures in worth a visit. Located on the beach, it's a small building with a one-way walking loop inside. There are touch tanks and more information than most can digest in a single visit. The staff are very passionate about their studies as most are undergrads working for the summer.
The beach shoppes are what you'd find at pretty much every other recognized beach / pier area. Toys and summer clothes are available for a higher cost.
If you're 21+ Bernie's Beach Bar is a great place to spend a (probably drunken) evening and night. They have a live showing venue on the second floor with a few mini bars, then a connecting deck with a full bar. We came July 2022 to see Lil Jon and some local artists perform. Not a good place to bring a 'pack of smokes' though, they do a decent search at the door and got mine from the inner seam of my wallet. Oops!

Very nice beach...great wave action and on particularly good days is popular with surfers! Almost like two beaches actually-- sandy and great for swimming to the south, and rocky and made for exploring to the north. Sidenote: very, very popular for walking dogs...I like dogs as much as the next person though like happens so many place they get a bad rep b/c of inconsiderate owners who don't pick-up after them.

Visiting this park in the off season is a very pleasant experience. There are no parking fees. Dogs are welcome on the enormous sandy beach. Two of the three restrooms are open. Scenic beach in the New England area. The cities of Concord and Manchester are nearby. This is a perfect summer destination to add to a New England itinerary, especially headed north to Maine. My itinerary started in Boston and ended in Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Maine. The Atlantic waters are cold even in the summer. The sunrise is something to behold. On the weekends and holidays, try to get here early for parking opportunities. If headed upstate New Hampshire the white mountains are a must see especially in the fall with the changing leaves.

Located in Salem, Massachusetts, the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion was built by sea captain John Turner in 1668 and inspired Nathaniel Hawthorne's 1851 novel, The House of the Seven Gables. The house is a well-preserved example of early seventeenth century New England architecture and features seven gabled roofs and classical facade.
Very nice tour of the house that inspired Hawthorne's book. The docent was knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was a bit expensive but the care they took keeping and restoring the facility was evident. Good for families and adults.

A must see stop if you're visiting historic Salem and want some great history of the colonial days. Absolutely beautifully restored homes from the famous novel and historic Salem. The tour is a must if you want to view the interior of the homes, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had answers for every question we could think of. I really thought it was cool that we got to go up the hidden staircase was super neat and unexpected. Well worth the money for the tour (it's the only way you can view the interior of the homes anyways).

Our guide was outstanding, she showed us The House of Seven Gables and explained its history so well. Getting to see the original structure (atic) the secret staircase, the reasons for the rooms and ceiling heights as well as the grounds was quite an experience. The Hawthorne house was also quite impressive with how they moved it to the property to save it from being turned into a parking lot. Honestly well worth your time if you're in Salem.

Definitely a must go in Salem! Originally, I wasn't going to take the tour but because I don't read times places open, I found myself with some free time. I was not disappointed! I highly recommend the guided tour of the House of Seven Gables. There's a self-audio tour of the grounds, but as a fast reader, I opted to read versus waiting for the voiceover to finish.
This place is so cool and there's lots to see. The staff is informative and patiently answers all questions. Definitely recommended!

This was well laid out. The location had several historical buildings in the property, including the House of the Seven Gables and Nathaniel Hawthorne's birth home. You pay for a guided tour of the Seven Gables and then can go on self-guided tours of the others (one was not open when I was there) and the grounds. The tour guide was very informative. The grounds are beautiful. There is also a gift shop with several interesting things in it.

I love touring historical homes, and this one was fabulous. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was very patient with those of us who really wanted to soak it in, especially with pictures. Everything about this historical home (and the grounds) was beautiful. This, along with The Daniel's House, made the trip to Salem worth it. Big Zero for the rest of Salem, which is just a big tourist trap, mainly for those interested in the occult.

It's one of the historical houses of old times. It's over advertised, as most of the places in the US. Unfortunately, very little remains from the original home as it was restored and modified according to the novel. If you just walk by yourself, it won't be really interesting. Tickets will be more expensive with the guide, but it's really worth it. We had an amazing guide. It's like you are watching a fairytale. He is a very talented one. Tour takes around 30 min. As he said, the price of every ticket goes to support the newly arrived immigrants in Salem. Still recommended to see!

This is an American classic! A settlement of historical importance of what would become the United States of America, before consolidation of such. The grounds were very nicely kept and several exhibits were there to visit while waiting for the "guided tour". The woman who guided us through the exhibit was extremely well versed in early (pre "USA") America. Probably not enjoyable for the very young, or the very mobility impaired! We were there on an early April weekday, the very busy summer crowds will surely require Patience and things to entertain the youngsters.

I visited Salem for Halloween. This was my first stop. The tour is approximately 45 minutes long and contains lots of history. The tour relays all aspects of the family and house's history. Our tour guide did a good job discussing some of the more sensitive/controversial portions.
You are lead through the house, which includes the original wings and the expansions. The tour includes low ceilings, stairs, and narrow stairwells. If you have issues with tight spaces there are a couple of rooms you may have to skip. The outside grounds and view of the harbor is beautiful. The tour was a good starting point for my evening in Salem.
The Salem Witch Museum is a popular destination for tourists who want to learn more about the infamous witch trials that took place in the town in 1692. The museum has large and lighted exhibits that illustrate the story of the trials, as well as modern witchcraft practices, after the events.

The visuals and narration transport you back in time, allowing you to experience the events firsthand. It's a remarkable 10-minute journey that sets the stage for the rest of the tour.
After the show, the group is divided in half, with one group proceeding to the second part of the tour while the other explores the gift shop. I found this division to be a great way to manage the flow of visitors, ensuring everyone has a comfortable experience. The second part of the tour delves deeper into the Salem witch trials, providing additional insights and historical context. It was fascinating to learn about the individuals involved and the impact these events had on the community.
What impressed me most was how efficiently the entire experience was conducted. Despite covering a significant amount of information, the tour was completed in less than an hour, making it perfect for those with limited time. This concise format allows you to absorb the key aspects of Salem's history without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Regarding the gift shop, I found it to be decent, but I would recommend checking out the Witch City Mall for a wider selection of souvenirs and mementos. However, the museum's gift shop does offer a good range of items related to the Salem witch trials, ensuring you can take a piece of history home with you.

Buy tickets in advance to ensure you get to experience the show. In the first room, make sure you sit in the MIDDLE. If you can’t sit in the middle, the right side of the room would be the next best option. You have to rotate in your seat to see each diorama(wax figure displays). You go into two different rooms to listen to a recorded explanation of the origin of the witch trials. Half of the group moves to the second room and the other half has to wait 10-15 minutes in the gift shop. The gift shop is priced like most gift shops. Paid $32 for a t-shirt.

It was a cool visit, though I don't think I'd go again. I wouldn't say it's worth $17.50 a person. If you do go, sit on the stools as it's much easier to turn for the 360 show. Not a bad experience but definitely not a traditional museum or a very long visit, maybe 45 minutes total.

A great top to cool off on a hot day and learn a little something. There are two rooms you go into. The first is a big open room that is dark and with seating to watch the presentation. Around the room and elevated are different scenes from the history of the witch trials. The second room talks about the history of witches.

I know that everyone wants to visit the witch museum when visiting Salem, but honestly I don't think it is an experience worth paying for. The manikins look like they were made in 1692 and never updated. The audio sounds like something from a 60's B rated sci Fi flick and the story is something you could just get from a YouTube video for free. Just go sit in the common and watch any video online about a witch story from the time. Not to mention that the presentation is made so if you are sitting on one of the walls you won't be able to see the part that is highlighted during the story right above where you are seated. If you are seated in the center you can view the story that is highlighted on turns on a 360 rotation one at a time if you turn around as the room doesn't.
After the first room they take you in turns (meaning in 2 groups) to a smaller room to hear another audio tour. At least the sound on this one is a bit better. Again lots of outdated decorations and a wall full with things to read (the timeline of the story) but no time to read them as you are brought into the room to hear the audio tour and then told to move along to see other outdated decorations in the room.
Then at the end you are lead into the gift shop to buy stuff. So basically you pay to enter a store.
Having done it once, I would tell friends visiting me, that this is definitely not worth paying for. Maybe if it was free and you wanted to sit for a while, but you can't go in when you want to, so my recommendation is, skip it.

Was alot of fun when we went! I would definitely check it out if your interested whichy vibes and doing the witch walk for fun, or if you're interested in the Salem witch trial and actual history! The gift shop was fun too! full of neat stuff , we enjoy the whole experience!

The Salem Witch Museum is a beautiful building. The actual tour is just OK compared to everything else offered in Salem Massachusetts. My teens enjoyed it, but were quickly done and ready to go on to the next thing. When sitting, be prepared to have to do a 360 turn. The round stools look easier than the benches were. When we visited tickets were only able to be purchased online with specific entry times.

The building was very cool and the staff was friendly. The museum wasn't what I expected or hoped for but I'm still glad I went. I wish there would have been more things to look at. The gift shop was nice.

Nice place to visit and learn what happened in during the Salem Witch trials. It's listed as an hour but really is closer to a 35 minute tour with voice overs and mannequins to explain what happened. It can feel rushed for the price a family will play and that was the only reason for the 4 vs 5 star rating.
Jon Testa — Google review
The museum is a tourist spot and is outdated. I feel the museum definitely needs to change something to keep customers returning. I'm surprised they don't offer any additional services such as walking tour or live action play. The gift shop has many awesome gifts. I don't regret going to the museum, but it's still the same thing from 15 years ago. I will not go back next year unless if they offer something different.

The building is neat. The idea is very fun! There isn't much to do!!!! The museum consists of 2 areas to view with audio information. Then, you go into the gift shop. I would love to have a little more to see.

I really enjoyed the presentation and tour at the Salem Witch Museum. I bought my ticket on line and was able to go right in. There was a small group of about 15 people. We were brought into a room with several attractions. There was plenty of room for us to sit and see everything. After, they bring you into another room and go over the history of witches. You are then let out in the gift shop. Perfect opportunity to purchase books, mugs, and shirts.

You definitely get an overview of what happened with some neat scenes in the main theater. Your tour starts in the main theater (you can sit anywhere and it's fine). Second, is another presentation in a smaller room from a guide which you can tour after the talk. Then you can browse the gift shop. They have a good selection in the gift shop. The museum is worth the visit. Very glad we went.

Was not worth the price we paid to get in. For my self husband and daughter it was $50. You were escorted into a large room that is dark, and there’s a story that plays that lights up each section of the story.
The mannequins you can tell they were old. If you aren’t sitting in the middle you won’t be able to see all of the light up sections. We were sitting on the side wall and ended up not being able to see the sections behind us.
My 7 year old daughter didn’t really care for it. After the first tour we were escorted into the gift shop while the tour that went in front of us is in the second part of the tour. So we had to wait into the gift shop until the other group left the one room. My daughter said the best part of the tour was the gift shop that she was able to get a spell book from.
It is not stroller accessible. You have to climb up 7 small steps. We had to carry the baby stroller up those steps, down another set of steps and back up another set. And not handicap accessible that I could see. I guess for not being there ever it’s a cool thing to do, but I won’t be a repeat customer. It’s something you do once and call it good.

Whether you’ve never been to Salem or have some knowledge of witch trial history, this should be your first stop. Susan the Manager was our guide during the off season of late April in our group of only 10 (4 of us). Yes, it is a tad campy and a tad dated, which is why I loved it. Great starter and “base” information for pre-or teens. I love that it is primarily a seated presentation, great for those disabled or those with mobility issues who can’t do a standing/walking tour. 5 stars! Keep in mind this isn’t CGI , nor should it be. Classic New England history presentation at its best!
This family-owned and operated museum is home to a wide variety of exhibits, including a collection of vintage cars. The gardens are among the most beautiful in Massachusetts and host an annual Rhododendron Festival that attracts tourists from all over.
We really enjoyed our visit to the beautiful gardens and the fabulous antique car museum. This is a wonderful attraction. The cars were in amazing condition and the building was just perfect for viewing them. The detailed information about all of the cars was very informative and interesting. The gardens were beautiful and the walking paths were well laid out. They were so many things to see in addition to flowers and plants too. They have a carousel, a windmill, a treehouse and much more. Well done.

An a abundance of blooms.

It was a beautiful day to visit Heritage Museum and Gardens.
Lots of flowers in bloom and while it got warm there is plenty of shade.
This is definitely a place that you can. Is it multiple times and find something new every time.
The car museum was amazing! Loves seeing all the cars so close. They change the cars out so want to go back and see the ones that were hiding in the garage.
My only warning is that you need to bring water with you. If you get thirsty on the trails your are out of luck. The water fountains are closed down.

The gardens are breathtakingly beautiful, and I was blown away by the variety of plant species and flowers on display. The nature trails were well-marked and provided an excellent opportunity to explore the gardens while enjoying the scenic views. The exhibits were informative and engaging, and I learned a lot about the history of the area and its significance.
There is also an impressive car collection on display. The collection features a wide range of classic cars and automobiles from different eras, making it a must-see for car enthusiasts.
The collection includes notable vehicles such as a 1909 Model T Ford, a 1931 Packard 840 Convertible, and a 1962 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II. Each car is beautifully restored and preserved, showcasing the intricate details and unique features that made them such iconic pieces of automotive history.
The car collection is not just limited to cars, but also features several vintage motorcycles and bicycles. Visitors can take a stroll through the exhibit and admire the impressive engineering, design, and craftsmanship of these vintage vehicles.
One of the most striking aspects of the car collection is the attention to detail that has gone into each restoration. The cars are immaculately maintained and restored to their original glory, making it feel like you have stepped back in time.
In addition to the cars themselves, the exhibit provides information about the history and significance of each vehicle, giving visitors a deeper understanding and appreciation of their place in automotive history.
Overall, the car collection at Heritage Gardens is a must-see for anyone with an interest in classic cars and automobiles. The exhibit provides a fascinating look into the history of the automobile and showcases some of the most iconic vehicles of our time.

The Heritage Hydrangeas are sights to behold.. We were told that the Rhododendron are amazing too when flowering.
Volunteer guides are friendly and very knowledgeable. The Heritage History of Cape Cod museum is well worth a reflective pause as is the classic Automobile display. That ' 62 Corvette is priceless. How many Stanley Streamers are still around?
If you are with little ones, the carousel is fun.

93 degree day! Hot ,but we walked the gardens early and saved the Car exhibit , Carousel, and Cape Cod museum (All air conditioned,) for the end of the day. The workers there were all very friendly sharing bits of history and knowledge whenever we asked . The volunteers were also very knowledgeable and willing to share stories and facts. There were water stations that you could refill your bottles. Tables and benches were scattered throughout so a lunch could be brought in. A snack bar is on the premises but pricey $$$.We chose to eat off site at Captains Seafood Bar and Grill, 71 Tupper Rd Sandwich, MA Which was superb. We got library passes which let us in for half price $11 instead of the adult fare of &22

Went early May for a visit with family on Mother's Day. The grounds are always beautiful with well labeled plants and multiple paved, accessible pathways in addition to dirt and shell/gravel paths.
There is seating spread throughout, and a few areas designed for children that they were loving. Note that the Hollow, one children's area, is accessible but one must travel down a steep paved path. There is a huge tree-house in the Hollows area and lots of child-friendly hands on activities. As an adult, I enjoyed them as well.
There is a special exhibit museum and the car museum, both worth visiting. I love antique cars and Heritage has them displayed nicely.
The place has enough restrooms spread throughout, in buildings, plus a small food concession and a gift shop. It is making some renovations so the checking and gift shop area is less formal but it is all well marked and well staffed.
Check the website for what is in bloom and head to Heritage. Plan on spending 2 to 4 hours to walk, explore and relax. Highly recommend.

This was a fantastic, unbelievably fun activity! There are a ton of things to do from very old to a very young! There are interactive displays, unbelievably friendly and excited and helpful workers and immaculately maintained grounds. The trails range from paved and smooth to wooded to ground-up shell paths. There are water features that little kids can play with, an extra large sand area with shovels and rakes for a little kids, there are Rube Goldberg’s type activities. The exhibits are incredible. There is a wigwam and a world-class car collection. Unbelievably Simon – if you are even remotely, considering going, you will not be disappointed! 10 stars! Go!

I love visiting Heritage Museums and Gardens ! Springtime and Gardens Aglow are my personal favorites ! Sadly during my most recent visit, there was construction going on all over. Mountains if sand and large equipment I understand the need for funding but at what sacrifice ? Fewer songbirds ? Peace and serenity ? The gardens are still beautiful and there is a variety of flora but by increasing parking and admittance is certainly going to be detrimental to the ambiance. All in all - still worth a visit.

One of our favorite places on the planet. Beautiful botanical gardens, thoughtfully curated exhibits, a beautiful antique carousel, tasty food and cocktails - what's not to love?! We spend a full day exploring all Heritage Museum & Gardens has to offer. From "Hidden Hollow" activities for the kiddos (and those young at heart) to rare antique cars to flowers and fountains - this place has it all! Become members and return year after year. Highly recommend!!

We had a lovely walk in the gardens and then came up on the wonderful Impressionists exhibit. Nature and art in one visit was wonderful. One of the young women working at the exhibit also shared some amazing history of the artists as well. It became a community of art appreciation very quickly. I went with a friend. I plan to return soon with my husband.

The museum has multiple buildings covering a large area, with a beautiful garden to walk through in-between. They specialize in Hydrangeas and Rhododendrons. There is an old Carousel, which is operational, great docents with lots of information. There is an extensive car exhibit and a children's play area, which most young families went straight to. There is a building that houses the history of Cape Cod's changes that came with tourism. Great for museum lovers! There are vehicles to drop you off in some areas if you don't want to walk too much.

This is a must see if you are visiting the Cape. My family and I were on Cape Cod for the weekend and started our day at the Heritage Museum & Gardens based on a couple recommendations from some co-workers who are local to the area. And they were right. It was really fantastic. Such fun exploring and seeing all of the classic cars in the auto museum. My kids loved exploring the grounds following the trails with their maps to find the maze, tree house and more. The grounds are in exquisite condition. So beautifully maintained.
We enjoyed a lunch at the café which was perfect as we were all pretty hungry after all of the exploring and hiking. I strongly recommend a visit regardless of your age, and make it a must see if you have kids. Great experiences there for the little ones (12 and under). We will definitely return on our next visit to the Cape!

This place is incredibly beautiful. I stopped by here on the drive home from a Cape Cod vacation, but it ended up being a highlight of the trip! The flowers and sights are gorgeous and abundant. We saw cute little baby turtles on the lily pads by the flume. The museum on Cape Cod tourism history was very engaging and gave a welcome rest from the summer heat. I loved the food at the cafe as well - it was surprisingly delicious and they had lots of healthy options! I would love to come here again during other times of the year to see how the flowers and trees change. 5 stars, you HAVE to come here if you're in the area.

Nice place to walk and relax. There are plenty of benches around the park where I can imagine myself reading a book there. It was going to rain when we came so we had to be mindful of our time.
There were not many flowers yet, as the weather is pretty unpredictable this year. Was hoping we could see hydrangea but we came too early.
Overall, it’s a huge garden, easy parking, and plenty of room for kids especially to run around.

It is hard for me to think of a more perfectly lit wedding ceremony, than the one were were invited to photograph here at the Heritage Museums and Gardens. The couple had their ceremony down by the waterfall sculpture, and it felt so private and dramatic all at the same time. The rest of the day was just as sweet, and we were overwhelmed with the amount of really cool locations we could photograph in.
Plimoth Patuxet Museums is a living history museum that preserves the culture and history of the Pilgrims and their Native American allies in 17th century New England. Costumed actors portray iconic figures from both the European and Indigenous cultures that interacted here, while permanent exhibits explore the complex histories of these two groups. The museum is located on ground carefully chosen to mirror Pilgrim's original settlement, surrounded by a rough stockade gate modeled after original fortifications.
This was such a fun outing, especially with elementary school-aged kids. It was an easy drive to Plymouth from the North Shore on a weekend day. We went shortly after the kids had their Plymouth Rock social studies units (3rd and 1st grade kids!) and the kids were fascinated to see exactly what the settlements looked like and how the people lived. The medicines and musket/gunpowder display was particularly fascinating (the gun display might be scary for younger kids, as it was fairly loud), as was the wattle fencing. The kids actually got to make part of a fence with the (totally in-character) staffer who was exhibiting how to do it. My family loved the theatrical nature of the place, too, since all the staff members were in character and using language from that time period. I want to make this a yearly tradition for the next few years.

A great experience for kids! We had a great time participating in a militia muster, cooking by the water, and talking to 17-century English folks! Such an amazing way for kids to "experience" history. Kids got to touch animal pelts, actual building materials, tools, and wander through homes and gardens. It really brought history to life, and the kids have been so excited to learn more ever since. Worth it to get the Heritage Pass, but get there early if you want to see it all the same day!

So much fun and rich in history! What a way to learn about the pilgrims and their stories, like a living story book. This is absolutely a place you need to go with children. Let them be inquisitive and ask all the questions on their mind. The actors are so good with kids and will answer any questions they ask, in fact I think it may be there favorite questions to answer!
If you really want to learn I would prepare questions in advance, it can be hard to come up with deep questions on the spot, so preparing a list of questions you want to learn about is rewarding!

This is an interesting place to go if you like history and want to learn about the pilgrims and natives. It was pricey for walking outside and visiting the villages. I wish they had actual native Americans and more with the village. It was nice talking with the English ladies. They were sweet and showed us the kids house where our daughter could play with games they had.

Pricey but worth it. The actors and demonstrations were very good. Highly recommend gif kids 4-12. Staff goes out of their was to teach and demonstrate. Not really recommended for people with walking disabilities because it's a long walk on uneven dirt. Entries are very low and easy to bump into. They do offer a golf cart ride between villages.

Very good interactive history experience. Less period era characters then I remember when I went years ago however it's the beginning of the season so they might not be fully staffed. Also to early for gardens to be planted so that aspect wasn't present. The period era characters that were on hand were very interactive welcoming and included everyone in the area in their presentation. Very very informative and great experience at a very reasonable price. Definitely will go again.

This was a great place to visit with elementary aged kids. My 5 and 8 year-old were as engaged and my wife and I were in learning. The actors were exceptional never breaking character and hold conversations with everyone about a multitude of topics. You want to make sure you are there for the militia exercise. This audience participation demonstration is awesome! In the Native American section there were not as many staff or actors to share information or ask questions. Overall we spent longer than expected here because we lost track of time.

Great place to take a historical walk through the woods, and some good views of the water as well. Colonial and Patuxet history is well preserved both in the museum and on the walking paths, where you can go in and out of centuries old dwellings. Staff are helpful and informative and will answer any questions. The performers are as well, and make it an immersive experience. Even if they aren't interacting with someone, they will blend into the background by doing colonial tasks in their historical clothing, regardless of temperature. While the Plimoth-Patuxet village is the main attraction, the interior museums and gift shops have fascinating items, an authentic old-school pottery barn, and full A/C.
Tip: If it is sunny out, bring sun glasses. The buildings are very dark and you will need to adjust your eyes each time you go in and out.

The interactive roleplay by staff was such a charming and immersive touch that I've not experienced elsewhere. I have not been here for years. Seems so much smaller than I remember. Not many people in the pilgrims homes. I know it's a bit early (it is almost May) but if they are open I guess they should have pilgrims to give us information. Out of all the homes there we only talked to people in 2 homes and a few people were outside making something. No Indians at the Indian huts just 2 regular people, I'm guessing they were pilgrims.

The Plimoth Patuxet Museums is a living history museum, that tells the story of the Indigenous people and English colonists who met along these shores in the 17th century.
Unfortunately, it's well known that this meeting did not end well for the indigenous people...
The most interesting exhibit is of course 17th-Century English Village. It recreates the 1627 Pilgrim settlement, complete with thatched-roof houses, a palisade fence, and costumed interpreters who portray the lives of the Pilgrims.

Cool educational experience. They start with an explanation of when the pilgrims arrived in a short show, then they let people explore the area. There are goats, cows and pigs to see. The people in the English Village stay in character and definitely have interesting things to talk about. Travel back to the 1600s to the home of the Pilgrims!!! This is a fun place to visit and experience a bit of early American history! There were dozens of "colonists" there to interact with and observe. They wear authentic clothing and perform the daily tasks that would have been needful on the plantation all while staying in character. It is a great place to bring the kids to learn some history but is just as enjoyable for adults. This is truly a "living museum!" A great way to spend a day!

Charming outdoor museum, perfect for adults and children, solo and groups. It's just the right size to enjoy a gorgeous outdoor walk on the paths, and admire the sights and smells of fall foliage, without feeling overwhelmed. The fort had the best view of the 17th century village. Wow! I love how they encourage asking questions and talking with the "locals" (actors who do their jobs perfectly). There are volunteers and "local villagers in the village. Weather was 68F, which made for a perfect day to spend outside. I enjoyed the other exhibits as well. Learning about the first Thanksgiving, and the 15 minute intro video in the welcome center gave me new perspectives.
I highly recommend making spending the day here.

Back in my days this place used to be called The Plimoth Plantation, Now it’s Plimoth Patuxet Museums. I used to love coming here on school field trips when I was a little kid and coming back here as an adult brings back a lot of good memories and nostalgia. You can learn so much History from this place! I bet it’s really wonderful to come here on Thanksgiving Day and to enjoy a wonderful feast and buffet with lots of food lol. The museum has actors that portray that 1600’s era and will not break character. There were some cows and goats but I remember that there were more different animals than my last visit 20 years ago, But regardless the experience was great!
Plymouth Rock is a famous rock in Plymouth Harbor, Massachusetts, that is widely believed to be the spot where the Pilgrims first came ashore when they arrived in 1620. The claim originates from 1741, when a 94-year-old man named Thomas Faunce stated that his father and several passengers on the Mayflower told him that the stone was the landing spot. There is no historical evidence to support this claim.
It’s literally a rock in an encasing right off of
The street. There is a museum for the mayflower a few feet away, but it was not open at the time I was there. I went early in the morning around 830am during the off season, but I’m sure it gets packed up, and there does not seem to be much parking. It’s definitely cool to see, but I wouldn’t go spending and entire day there, you only need a few minutes. As far as the idea that it’s where the pilgrims landed, I will leave that alone (wink wink). I hope my review helped.

An excellent addition to any New England itinerary. The Mayflower II sits at port just ahead. The stone marked with the year 1620 AD. The oldest town in Massachusetts has many historical treasures to reveal. As part of the Cape Cod region, the area boasts a beautiful vista of the waters to the East. Boston is only 30 to 45 minutes away, depending on the time of day. There are plenty of novelty shops along the way to pick up souvenirs. I especially enjoy the ice cream shoppe across from the Rock.

Not what I expected!
Plymouth Rock is very well seated away from the public, which is probably best to keep from deterioration from touching. It's inside an enclosure several feet under ground level, so all photo's are taken from a top down view.
Near by is a replica of the Mayflower and various other statues. Lavatory facilities are available. Walking around the trails was pleasant and dog friendly. The views are beautiful.
There is parking near by, and if you don't mind walking a few streets away free two hour parking as well.
One visit is enough, but would visit with relatives again.

A great place to see your elementary history textbook come to life. The rock is surrounded by a guard structure with park ranger on duty. No touching, but plenty close to enjoy it. While on premises, go across the street to the pilgrim grave and enjoy the view of the bay and replica Mayflower.

Interesting history behind this rock! Marked as 1620 but first time someone claimed as pilgrims landed here was a claim by someone in 1700. Not sure if that is enough evidence!
TIP: Cute downtown area. Find a parking on Main Street for a two hour parking and walk 2mins to get to water rather than paying to park at the water!

Didn't realize that Plymouth rock was literally just a rock. I thought it referred to the land in general.
But here it is. Plymouth rock in all it's glory.
Not much to look at but cool to think about all that came from such humble beginnings

Wow, a rock. What else can I say? The area seemed nice and clean, there are some shops along the water, beach type areas. We parked and took a look at the rock, it has a nice walk through building around it. Then we walked up some stairs and looked out to the water using the binoculars. Nice area to stop on our road trip.

Super small and underwhelming- but.. the park surrounding it, is absolutely beautiful. Nice for a quick walk by but this is not an all day event at all. Make sure to check the shops out, just one street over!

It's a rock, that we "think" is the one the Mayflower and first settlers arrived at (read the history and you'll see why the quotes). I am a fan of history, so can say I was there and saw it, but I wouldn't plan a trip just for that. We did a trip that included Boston and all together it was very worthwhile - but be aware of the distance between Boston and Plymouth. The ranger at the rock was very informative and nice to chat with.

Definitely worth the stop, just to see, feel, and learn the history. The area is really nice, with paid parking nearby. Stop and see the rock, walk around, there are other statues, and the Mayflower II is docked nearby. There are nice restrooms, and a also a couple of nice little souvenir stores. There is also a museum, but we didn't have a chance to stop by there.
Leilani-Z — Google review
It was neat to see a piece of history and to read about it and learn more.
I feel the rock could have been on some type of pedestal or something to elevate it.
I'm not sure I completely understand why it was moved to begin with years ago, hence the big crack in it from dropping off the truck that moved it.
It kind of feels like it's in a mausoleum versus a showcase. (I hope this makes sense to someone)
I did not know that the Mayflower was a replica built from 1955 to 1957. I'm pretty sure I can understand the reasoning behind it, that a boat from 1620 would not withstand this many years in the water as a showcase.
It is beautifully done and if the museum was open I would have gone in. But because this is a winter visit we took the chance, overall with shops / restaurants and museums being closed until spring.
It is a nice waterfront walk and there is more history here than I could show.
For anyone planning on visiting Plymouth Massachusetts and this area specifically, I would suggest at least two nights in 3 days. If you are a history buff or someone who wants to learn more, I think that would be sufficient time to get it all in.

I like hearing and seeing where history happened. It's a great place to visit to reflect on that! We visit Mayflower II as well. Well worth-it trip! Recommend to anyone!

It was a beautiful rock. A meaningful trip for my friends and family. We had friends from Germany come and visit and we took them here. It meant a lot, it’s a beautiful and worked up monument to history. But it’s also a small rock 😂🤷🏼♀️

Easily accessible! There is something humbling about witnessing a piece of history. As I had no previous conception regarding the actual size of Plymouth Rock, there was some shock relating to how small the rock was, this was a misconception on my part. Nevertheless, the fact that it remains is a testament to it's importance in American history.
Chelsey Kreil — Google review
It's a small rock, so don't expect a big boulder. But it is very cool to see where America all started. Really nice park, and shops/restaurants all around.
Kaley Mierek — Google review
This is a good rock. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. It’s said that the Pilgrims first landing in North America was at this rock, but there isn’t any historical evidence to confirm this. This is a small rock located in Maude a memorial with a roof like the Pantheon. This rock gets very busy with tourists, but I was here during the morning after Easter so it wasn’t very busy when I was here. I gave this rock five stars because it was a cool experience to get to see what is thought to be a piece of history. If it was super busy when I went here I would’ve rated it lower.

Plymouth is a great, old, scenic, New England town with a charming waterfront filled with working fishing boats, and seafood joints, plenty of shops and restaurants. A replica of the mayflower ship resides in the harbour. Plymouth Rock is a symbol of the first Europeans to venture to North America. It's a big rock on the ground surrounded by a beautiful iconic structure. It's worth taking a look for 5 mins or so, (or however long you can stare at a rock.) Take a picture and move on.

Plymouth Rock is a must-see for any American history buff or anyone curious about the origins of our nation. While the rock itself may be small and underwhelming at first glance, the weight of history it carries is immense. Standing on that very spot where the Pilgrims first stepped ashore in 1620, you can't help but be transported back in time and imagine the challenges and trepidation they must have felt. There is some amount of legend however, about Plymouth Rock, as to whether it was actually stepped upon by the Pilgrims, its movement from one place to another and how it has been chipped down in size over the years . Either way, it is a major symbol of our country.
The park surrounding Plymouth Rock is well maintained, with gorgeous views of Plymouth Harbor. There are also informative plaques and markers that tell the story of the Pilgrims' arrival and the early days of Plymouth Colony.
Overall, visiting Plymouth Rock was an incredibly enriching experience. It's a place where you can truly connect with the past and gain a deeper understanding of American history. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in our nation's story.

Fantastic to see history like this. I never knew the Pilgrim father's landed at twenty minutes past four and how significant it was. Any later and they would have missed the Indians that fed and saved them.

Great history there in that town wish we would have arrive earlier in the day so we could have seen more of the sights.
The app for the electric cars is a must to get around if you know where you want to go. Loved the graveyard, little secret, it has the best view of the bay.
Didn't like the fact that we had to pay for parking and there was very few sports to park.
Expansive, kid-friendly theme park featuring roller coasters, water rides, carnival games & shows.
Well put together park. The rides are fun. From the point of view of an extreme coaster enthusiast, these guys have done a great job considering the height restrictions imposed onto the park for rides. Yankee Cannonball is comfortable and fun. UNTAMED is short, but action packed. The park has an excellent, above and beyond; selection of rides for the little ones. My daughter was 4 and had an absolute blast.

My first visit to Canobie was during Screeemfest! Parking is easy & free - if you arrive slightly early you'll be parked pretty close to the entrance. During the first hour of opening, the lines for rides weren't too bad. Towards the end of the night, you had to wait in lines that were at least 30 minutes long. Some lines for rides like The Yankee Cannonball were 45 minutes plus. Even though we didn't get to do as many rides as we were hoping, we had an awesome time & there was so much to see. At dusk, the views over the lake are incredible. We were blessed with an incredible sunset. Lots of spooky decor around the park - we really enjoyed walking around taking it all in. The lines for the haunted houses were crazy so we chose to skip it. I was surprised by the food & drink prices. They are reasonable compared to most parks. A cocktail with a souvenir beaker was under $20 ($15 if I remember correctly), turkey leg was $13, & huge loaded baked potatoes were $9. We were all very satisfied with the food - it was filling & delicious. We had a great time at Canobie & can't wait to return!

A very nice family amusement park that has rides for everyone in the family. To small kiddie rides for the children, to family friendly rides and all the way up to thrill rides, this place has a nice mix. It also has a small water park included with admission in the summer (although gets very packed on hot days) and water rides, plus some shows/other entertainments. Their Halloween event is always a blast with haunted houses too.

The owner of my workplace was generous to treat us to a picnic and day at Canobie! We had a great time.
I have been coming here since I was young. It’s very clean, and not too big. They have a water park, but that was way too crowded for us, sadly. That’s ok though, because we were able to cool off on the flume ride and the Boston Tea Party. They have plenty of benches to sit down and of course the people watching is always entertaining. I’m not good with rides, but my husband had a good time! My son is autistic, and we weren’t sure how well he would do. He tried the skateboard ride, but it was a little too intense for him. There are a lot of options for calmer activities. The food choices were pretty much standard to any amusement park. I was very happy to find a place for alcohol. There aren’t a ton of options, but they have beer located outside the Boston Tea Party ride in a cool looking old style pub, and inside the water park. They also offer AC inside some of the arcades, which was definitely needed as it was very hot that day. I had a great day, and slept like a rock that night!

What a blast ! Had a great time ! Plenty for young kids to do! Dedicated splash pad area, really cool water park for kids and probably the best lazy river I have ever been to. My kids (age 1 & 4) had plenty of options of things to do. The water park was my favorite, on hot days nice to be in the water around noon to 1

One of my favorite dates to date. Downside were the long lines. We did ScreamFest and purchased the express passes. $25 to knock out 5 haunted houses in an hr. Worth it considering the lines were so long others were likely waiting the hour to 30 min each. We went on 3 rides had dinner walked around watched the freak show for a bit and then went through the haunted houses. Definitely cannot wait to take the kids. One of the coolest things though, these parks have a fast lane for disabled individuals. Make sure you check with customer service!! If you have someone who physically or mentally cannot wait in lines but enjoy the rides they can get in pretty quickly. Just make sure the attendant sees you. ❤️❤️

This place is great for kids. The lines are usually very long for the adult rides so if you go you should make a day of it to get the most in (if that's your thing). The other attractions are fun and plenty.

The amusement park rides are great. Awesome view from the Ferris wheel. Roller coasters are a lot of fun. Other rides as well. There are lot of good options. We ended up getting Mexican food.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Canobie Lake Park Theme Park with my family, and it was an experience we'll cherish for a long time. The park catered to all ages, from toddlers to teens, and even adults, ensuring that everyone had a fantastic time.
The variety of rides was impressive, with something for everyone. The little ones were thrilled with the toddler-friendly attractions, while the older kids and adults enjoyed the more adrenaline-pumping rides.
One of the highlights of our visit was the flexibility to bring our own food and water, especially for the kids. This is a thoughtful provision that not many places offer. However, if you happen to forget, there's no need to worry. The park offers a wide array of dining options, ranging from vegetarian to non-vegetarian dishes. And for those who fancy a drink, they even serve beer to lift your spirits!
I highly recommend planning your visit on Fridays or Saturdays. The park hosts a spectacular fireworks display and dance party after closing hours, adding an extra layer of fun to your visit. You can check the schedule on their website to plan your day accordingly.
In conclusion, our visit to Canobie Lake Park Theme Park was one of our best family outings. It's a place that truly offers something for everyone, making it a perfect destination for family fun. We can't wait to go back!

We spent the day here, we enjoyed both Castaway Island and the amusement park. One thing both my wife and I noticed, the lifeguards were extremely attentive, very active and moving around, constantly scanning the pool. They had a lot of staff, and all we encountered were friendly and helpful. The value for the price of admission was incredible. The park and the bathrooms were very clean and well kept. Sometimes these places can look faded and worn but we were both impressed with the overall look. There is a good mix of rides for ages 4-16. We would recommend stopping here for a great day!

Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire holds a special place in my heart. Having visited as a child, I'm delighted to see that it has maintained its charm and beauty throughout the years. The park's impeccable upkeep is evident in the well-kept flowers that grace its walkways, creating a delightful atmosphere.
Now, as an adult living out of state, I cherish the opportunity to bring my children, aged 8 and 10, to Canobie Lake Park, allowing them to create their own cherished memories. The park's waterpark is a huge hit during the summer months, providing a perfect escape from the heat.
However, with the availability of season passes, I've noticed that the park can become quite crowded at times. The long lines near the entrance during exit times, especially for simple treats like apples, popcorn, and cotton candy, can be a bit frustrating. I personally experienced a wait of over 30 minutes. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience and the joy it brings to my family are well worth it. Canobie Lake Park remains a treasured destination for both nostalgia and creating new memories with loved ones.

I have gone to canobie lake park since I was a kid, so over 15 years at this point. I have never done before Screamfest and my friend didn’t warn me you can only buy tickets online. So I arrived and noticed the ticket booths were closed and asked is there anyway to buy tickets in person and they said it’s online only. I do put 50% of the responsibility on my friend for not telling me this. But then 50% responsibility is on Canobie for two reasons. The first reason being this is a location with plenty of booth stations and you could easily have one open to address those who don’t buy online. The BIGGER reason though is this. THEY HAVE NO CELL SERVICE OR PUBLIC WIFI THERE. It is pretty crummy trying to break through the cell service to contact friends and to see if anyone has strong enough cell service to buy a ticket for me. If you are going to have mandatory online passes and you are very aware of your lack of cell service. You should invest in a couple of quality WiFi routers at the front gate so people can hop on it and purchase tickets OR if you don’t want to open a booth, invest in a digital station where you can go to a machine and purchase one.
Now for the second part of this experience I’ll be getting more into the screamfest experience. This experience comes with the caveat that I know staffing can be short some night and all that understandable stuff. I get that. However, nothing really felt that spooky. The walkers around the park had lack luster energy as well as in the haunts. The only one I felt had more energized haunters were the works in the location near Untamed. The other two felt pathetic. And not due to lack of ambience or visuals. The ambience and visuals were great. But the haunt near the tea party ride and near the mine ride were a bummer when it came to being actually scared. Because you can have the coolest visuals you want but when there are a lack of people or the people minimally engage it just ruins the experience. For instance when we went through the haunt by the tea party, I think we managed to walk through 6+ rooms before running into another worker. Then, the workers just hide in corners and barely move. Or just stare at you by a wall. Where is the getting up in your face? Where is the following a person for short periods of time? Making repetitive noises through yelling or banging objects? Again, some workers did do that, but for the 2 I was disappointed in, they really didn’t do a lot.
For the last part of the experience I will talk about the express pass. So, first of all you pay $50 to get in. Then, because we dealt with 40mins of trying to get me into to the place we were running short on time and they close at 11p, AND they obviously have long lines. Now we are thinking we will do the express pass. They have signs for it around the park but the signs don’t actually lead you to the direction of getting them because we tried 2 spots in the park and the people said no. Then we went to the front to guest services and they said go to the gift shop next store. We thought we would pay $25 cause it said that online. No, if you buy it at the shop it’s $30 and online it’s $25 if you match it with your ticket and add it on. Well, obviously with no cell service we couldn’t do that so we had to pay the $30. It was worth it in the sense that you get to the front quick. But again with my review of the actual haunts themselves, it doesn’t feel worth it to spend $80 for the lack luster experience.
All of this to say, I love Canobie lake park as an amusement park and for anyone trying to go there for rides whether it’s spooky season or not, it is a great time. Clean park, clean bathrooms. A lot of food options. I hope they put up more roller coasters cause one can only handle so many spinny ride options, which there are a lot there. And they took down the cork screw which was a roller coaster. But yah as an amusement park, I still love it as an adult. As a spooky place, definitely bummed.

This park is impeccably clean! I mean, spotless. Not even a stray bottle cap on the ground. The bathrooms are spotless. The cleanest amusement park I have ever been too. The lines to rides are long, but move fast. The staff, primarily teenagers/college students, are the sweetest most helpful people! With their energy, you can tell they love their job! I can't wait to go back in October!

I was fortunate I got to see the colorful foliage. There are statues of historic US figures, a large pond called the lagoon, and a historic bridge that stretches over the lagoon with a scenic views of the water and the island in its center. The landscaped, 24-acre Boston Public Garden, established in 1837, was the first public botanical garden in the U.S. The Public Garden contains lovely manicured paths, the famous “Make Way for Ducklings” statues, a 4-acre pond with swans and a variety of other birds, and several memorable statues throughout. Amazing 10 mile long bike and walking/running path. Completely car free, had to cross a few small roads but never had to ride along side the road at any point on the trail. Relatively flat with great views. Several parking lots along the path, search shining sea parking in google maps and the actual lots will show up. Most of the parking lots have water bottle refill stations which was convenient. Start on the north end and take a break in Woods Hole at one of the many restaurants there before returning. The most scenic section (in my opinion) was between West Falmouth and Woods Hole, with the marsh just south of the West Falmouth parking lot and a nice stretch of beach a little north of Woods Hole. So if looking for a shorter ride you could skip the most northern section, although it was nice and shaded since it was mostly lined with trees.

This trail is absolutely amazing. I started around Falmouth Main st and rented bikes. We had such a fun time biking on a paved well kept trail with fantastic scenery of ponds, beaches, and ending with a slice of pie at Pie in the Sky in Woods Hole. The coastline along the path reminded me of my travels to south France and was relatively uncrowded even for a pleasant sunny Sunday in July.
As a side note, there is some commentary that this is the wrong location. Personally, I rented bikes from Corner Cycle in Falmouth center and got to the trail from there. You can either go in north Falmouth or Woods Hole direction from there.

While vacationing with my family in the Falmouth section of Massachusetts, I came across the Shining Sea Bikeway. I was looking for a safe place to run that was away from street traffic and it seemed like the perfect place to do my run. As I ran through this trail, I became impressed with all the amazing amenities it had to offer. There were mile markers every half mile and various works of art peppered throughout the route. Everything along the route was made to cater to the cyclist. There were bathrooms, bike pumps, plenty of informational signage, and occasional picnic tables. There were even food establishments within a stone's throw of the route. I did some research and found out that the route was the site of an old train line that ended at the ferry at Wood's Hole. By 1975, the tracks were removed to make way for a recreation route for cyclists, runners, and walkers. I liked the fact that most of the route I ran had tree cover which protected me from the hot summer Sun. The total length of the route was 10.7 miles. I highly recommend the Shining Sea Bikeway, especially to those who love to cycle. The route is completely flat, so it's good for younger cyclists as well. And the amazing thing is that you can cycle it for 10.7 miles to the end, then take the ferry with your bike straight to Martha's Vineyard, then continue biking on the Vineyard. There are still parts of the route where you can see some of the old train tracks revealing how it once looked when the route was used for train travel. This was such an unexpected gem to find and I'm glad that I found it.

Fenway Park is home to the Boston Red Sox and occasionally features big-name concerts. It's an historic, small-capacity ballpark with a kid-friendly Wallys Clubhouse that can be visited during between innings of a Red Sox game.
Walked up and booked the guided tour ($21) that started ten minutes later. Despite a slow start (it’s amazing how many adults need the bathroom), it was an enjoyable tour and a good chance to get inside the ballpark in the off season. It’s definitely made me want to see a game here, despite not being a fan.

My first visit here to this Beautiful Old Park. I was not disappointed, George an usher and our tour guide earlier shared some the the historical information of this stadium. Like the seats under the cover are the original seats from 1934. As I stood there and touch these seats I could feel the excitement from the fans that had sat in these very seats. Really enjoyed being at park, Boston Fans are fantastic and true to baseball.

The most amazing place in the world! We had such a great time. The atmosphere, the fans, the history, the energy, the nostalgia, the excitement! There's nothing better. We got engaged here and took our kids for the 1st time and like every time. it did not disappoint! Food is also great in the stadium and staff is always so friendly and helpful, making sure you have a great time.

We stopped by on Thanksgiving just to see the park whilst on our short stay. Even though we knew there was no games on, or bars open it was still a great trip to be able to walk around and see all of the great moments outside of the park as well as being able to take some great pictures. With all the different bars around, and food places I can imagine it's a great atmosphere when there is a game on. Would love to return and watch a Red Sox game.

The location was perfect for the Northeastern graduation. The reserved seating close to the field was great, and the attendants were very professional and helpful.
The "game presentation" was fun with the giant flag dropping down from the Monster Seats. That never gets old!
This was for all the graduate students, and we were moved along afterward to make room for the undergrads, coming in for a 2pm event!

Always a great tour! Will, our tour guide, was fun and knowledgeable and very passionate about Red Sox baseball, which made the visit even better. I appreciated that the tour moved quickly, so my kids didn't get "bored", and had chances to sit peppered in between walking. Take a jacket if you are visiting in the spring - up high the wind will chill you!

So much history and one of the few stadiums left with all its history there. It was one of my best choices I made going to it. It's about an hour 35 to 40 bucks. Also a picture is taken between 40 and 50 for the set. No home clubhouse or anything on the field during the tour. But at least your allowed to go to the top of the Green Monster.

Awesome ballpark! We did the stadium tour. So interesting to learn about the history of Fenway and the Green Monster. They have Fenway Gardens on the rooftop where they grow their own produce. Amazing! Their museum has a wall of World Series baseballs. Definitely worth the visit!

Great ballpark to visit with many services. Private tours are very conducive to children infusing interaction with historical education. Show up early because they are prompt, leaving the time they say. Rich in History and relatively rather clean for a ball park. Their service coordinators to set up the tours are extremely helpful and go above and beyond. Be prepared to walk a mile or so from the parking garage or take a cycle taxi for a speedier arrival.

Who doesn’t like Fenway Park. It’s one of the best venues for a concert, smaller than Gillette and much more intimate. I’ve been to two concerts this summer (Pink and Zac Brown) and I thoroughly enjoyed both. Plenty of options for reserved parking. I would recommend eating beforehand at a local restaurant unless it’s ballpark food your after

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! To watch a baseball game live in person has been a bucket list item of mine for a long time. To get to check this off at Fenway park, one of the most famous and historic grounds is perfect. The atmosphere is crazy, the game was high scoring with lots of runs and a couple homers. The food was classic. A truly great experience and I can’t wait to do it again.

This is one of the greatest venues of the United States sports history. The Fenway park represents an iconic representation of the baseball inspiration. Everyone must go and visit the stadium. The tour is a good way to learn about the history and also have the opportunity to visit every corner of it.

What a trip! I could never get enough of this wonderful, grand, beautiful treasure of a ballpark! Everything about this night was absolutely perfect! Boston knows how to celebrate baseball and this ballpark does it all just right. Parking was super convenient. Close enough by for just a 10 minute walk after the game, the game views in the stands were absolutely amazing, the crowd was fun-loving and passionate, the sunset that night was absolutely spellbinding, and the atmosphere was electric! What a homage to baseball and to just celebrating how life can be so beautiful and fun. ✌️👍🙂❤️🙂

Family friendly Fenway! Easy to access by the Kenmore T stop on the green line. Would not recommend parking near the stadium on game day. Fenway franks are a must try. Plenty to see if you’re in need of a stretch during the game. Bathrooms are clean and well kept (wish they would switch to auto faucets instead of push faucets, though). Great place for a family outing!

Picked this tour with our Go City pass. We love seeing different ball parks and the history here is something you could spend multiple days taking about. Our tour guide was thorough and did a great job for a large and diverse crowd. My only suggestion is they cap tour groups to 25 people as any more ends up costing time.
Would love if they took you to the dugout and other inside areas like many other ballparks. It would be so awesome to see the whole facility!

First time sitting in the green monster seats was an experience. The view is spectacular. I was afforded a cool breeze on a not so cool day sitting in those seats. Easy access to food and restrooms was a plus. I would suggest anyone to try these seats as it's a fabulous view not only of the game but of the city itself.

Took a tour of the ballpark to get a little history, movie trivia, and a look around. The tour covers a lot! You get to see a lot as well. The only thing is nowhere does it say where to meet up. So if you're on the tour, look for Gate D to go across the street inside the gift shop. Tour starts their. Look for the men in red jackets. Hope this helps.

The atmosphere and vibe here is lively and so much fun! I can see why it’s an iconic place to come to when visiting Boston. I’ve been here twice now and can definitely say it was worth paying the tickets for.
Food: They had stadium food such as hot dogs, fries, cotton candy, etc available. They also have a short selection of beer available to purchase.
Atmosphere: I’ve been lucky to sit in good seating both times I’ve been here and it was an awesome experience. The fans are fun to be around and it can get rowdy in here as well. It’s a very nostalgic place and I can see why people enjoy coming here. One thing to note is that the stadium and field itself are rather quite small. I was surprised to how small it feels in the stadium.
Price: The food and beer is pricey but it is normal for stadium food.
Parking: Parking is limited and I would suggest taking the T to get here.

This was a truly amazing experience. My friends and I got tickets for standing area up top. It was the best choice for us because there where a lot of us and we wanted to be able to talk and mingle. There's a bar up there that never really got super busy so it was easy to grab drinks. If you're coming to watch the game with a bunch of friends, this is definitely the best option.

Born in New York, I’m not a Red Sox fan. As a baseball fan, I think this stadium is great. Lots of history made here. We took the stadium tour before the game; in depth and very informative. Most seats have a good view. Typical baseball food and concessions.

Fenway Park Tour - it was really fun to tour the park and learn the history. I was a little disappointed we did not get to go in the locker room or inside the green monster. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind of funny!
Tips: go in the spring or summer. We went in February and it was a little too cold and the field was covered by a tarp and there was no grass. The tour meets in the pro shop across the street. We were the first ones there so we walked around the store a while. By the time the tour started there were so many people (about 50) that we had to split into 2 groups and we ended up at the end of the line so we were in the second group. So we had to stand outside for 10 or 15 minutes so the first group could get started. They will check your bags - backpacks are not allowed.

I was in Boston for the weekend so I caught the game. The atmosphere was incredible, very family friendly with lots of crowd engagement. The event is more than just a baseball game, it's an massive event and day out.
Accessing the stadium was fairly easy and it's easy to move around when you're inside.
An historic venue, definitely worth visiting if in town.

Pretty good. I'm not a fan of baseball, but the wife is. Got a history tour of the stadium and that was slightly interesting. Having access to non-normal ares was pretty cool. I just wish we could've gone to an actual game after so I could have tried some of the food

The Fenway Park tour was better than we could have expected. We had a wonderful tour guide that explained everything well and despite us having a large group it was easy to hear her. The tour takes you through the history of the ballpark and gives you a lot of opportunities for photos. After going through different sitting areas including the oldest wooden seats in a MLB ballpark you get to go through the press box. They end the tour with a trip through a museum with lots of game used memorabilia. Outside of the ballpark there are statues and World Series signs to see. Finish the tour with the Fenway Park store filled with souvenirs.

Outstanding ball park. I've been to many new and some of the old parks that are torn down and Fenway is absolutely historic. It's like no other park. I can't wait to see Wrigley.

The park tour was a great experience, especially for being only $25 each! Despite it being quite cold and windy in February, the tour guide was friendly, welcoming, and just privded a great time overall. Unfortunately, the tour during the winter results in seeing a field under construction as they re-sod the field before every season, but that is to be expected. The tour gives you a nice overview of the history of the stadium and the Red Sox as a team while keeping a bit of humor to the story. If you're in town, this is a great use of time and money. The only weird thing we noticed is that they take a picture of your group for you, print it out, and then try to sell it to you, and if you choose not to take it, they just throw it out, which seems quite wasteful. Maybe we misunderstood, but both my wife and I were under the impression that the photos were available for purchase, not for free. Regardless, we had a great time and I highly recommend the tour!

Loved the tour.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and included the whole group from the start asking were people were from and what team they supported.
You start from underneath where they would sell food then you enter the stadium and you go all the way up the top and also into the press area. It was a great tour even if I am not a baseball fan but I really appreciated the history behind the place. It's a must if visiting g Biston. Account fir couple of hours minimum.
The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is a world-renowned art museum with an extensive collection from ancient Egyptian to contemporary American. Kids will enjoy the clever touches, such as special family labels and games to help them explore the collection.
Huge art museum with an array of styles. Came here during the first weekend of the month, as they participate in Bank of America’s Museums on Us, so we got free entry as a result of being cardholders. There is public transportation line with the museum as a stop, but it also was a nice walk to get here from our hotel. Masks were recommended but not required. There is a cafe inside if you need food.
You can easily spend an entire day here looking through all the exhibits. We spent an afternoon until the museum closed at 5, and I wish we were able to spend more time. No flash photography. There were water bottle refilling stations by restrooms. Coat check is available. You’re in for a good time here.

Exploring the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) in Boston was a truly enriching experience that exceeded my expectations. The museum's extensive collection spans centuries and continents, offering a diverse array of artistic treasures. What drew me in, in particular, was the captivating world of the Asian exhibits.
Wandering through the halls dedicated to Asian art felt like embarking on a cultural journey. The carefully curated pieces showcased the beauty, history, and intricate craftsmanship of Asian cultures. From stunning traditional paintings to awe-inspiring sculptures, the collection truly captured the essence of the rich artistic traditions of Asia.
The MFA's commitment to providing a comprehensive narrative shone through in the way each exhibit was thoughtfully arranged. The detailed descriptions and historical context provided a deeper understanding of the pieces, turning each visit into a fascinating exploration.
The museum's ambiance enhanced the overall experience, with well-lit and spacious galleries that allowed for contemplation and appreciation. The staff's passion and knowledge were evident, contributing to a welcoming and educational atmosphere.
Visiting the MFA is not just a trip to a museum; it's a cultural immersion that transports you across time and space. Whether you're an art enthusiast or someone seeking to broaden your cultural horizons, the MFA in Boston, especially its Asian exhibits, is a must-visit destination that promises a truly memorable and enriching experience.

The MFA was surprisingly amazing! I knew it was a good art museum, yet I had no idea we had such an incredible bounty of art history and culture in Boston! The cafe and amenities were great and high-quality, and the displays were simply awe-inspiring. The Egyptian section is very thoughtful, and the European paintings almost made me cry with the effort and skill. The gift shop is also quite nice!! Haha!

They sell tickets at the front door but allocate time to lineup. If you are visiting on weekends, do it before noon. After noon line gets larger and larger.
You’ll need a full day if you’d like to see everything. However, it can be exhausting. There are some areas where you can sit if you need to rest.
Great experience, lots of exhibitions from Egypt, Americas, Asian… spectacular!
You also need to lineup to enter the cafeteria. Food is bit overpriced, but ambiance and service worth the extra bucks.
Parking in the back is plenty, so, no worries there.
Parking Max rate is $30.

The MFA is a must go. I’m assuming if you are looking at reviews you probably know this and you are really looking for information about parking and logistics. I got you.
PARKING: there are MFA garages and parking lots that are on Museum Rd. Additionally there is street parking but it’s limited and you must pay unless it’s Sunday. All museum parking accommodations are expensive but offer quick accessibility to the museum. You can also park on Forsyth Way. I recommend going early in the morning if you want an easy street parking spot. Again, Sunday is free. Lastly the museum website has information about parking. All in all it’s not bad so don’t let that deter your visit.
2. TICKETS: I would recommend getting advanced tickets if you are seeing a special exhibit, additionally an advanced ticket is just an easier experience overall. Again, if you are seeing something special that costs more then plan in advance to get a ticket with a specific time.
3. IF YOU HAVE KIDS: the museum is kid friendly and I was surprised that they did not ask us to check backpacks or our stroller. There were many families with their young kids and the strollers did not seem to be a problem. Made our lives easier so I am assuming that the museum is pretty accessible for wheelchairs too.
4. Check out my photos to get a sense of the space. Loved our trip here and I will be back! Highly recommend.

Went with my college-aged artist daughter and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent. It's great Tha MFA has a program for students get in free by presenting their student ID and email. We spent most of our short time with the Impressionists but they also had an impressive musical instrument exhibit. You could spend days here though our short visit was also worth the effort.

The Museum Of Fine Arts (MFA) was worth every cent! What a special surprise birthday gift from my fiance. The John Singer Sargent Exhibit was amazing! His paintings were/are so detailed, so clear as if the portraits of the people posing for his expertise painting session would have reached out or moved. Honestly his paintings are magnificent, just absolutely stunning! Each painting displayed was so large and placed in beautifully carved wooden frames with a plaque of a description. To think just how old each painting was truly set my mind into nostalgic mode. Honestly a will set you back and think before technology. I am still in awe!!! Also, the Cafe was delicious, plus musical entertainment with dancers and amazing Lime Green glass art by Dale Chihuly is next to the courtyard. I seriously didn't want to leave MFA, but we were there for 4 hours and had to move along to other plans. ⭐I highly recommend!

An amazing experience. The Egyptian hall has the most Egyptian artifacts outside of Cairo. The Greek and Roman halls were also extensive. The coins hall was also excellent. Definitely recommend coming early to have time to examine the museum with time.

If it had not one work of art within its walls, this museum is a beautiful work of art in and of itself. The experience was similar to that of being at the Smithsonian without the crowds and the field trips. I could spend a week here. There is a great restaurant in house and 2 gift shops. Would recommend the app for a self guided tour and if you're visiting Boston, buy a city pass that includes the admission to this and other worthy attractions. There is a separate cost for special/traveling exhibitions.

Large collection of fine art, very well curated, displayed, and maintained. You can buy tickets at the door, but you can also buy it online if you want to skip the queues. Expect the whole or half day if you want to savor the whole section.

This is an absolutely fantastic museum to visit! It really is huge (even a day's not really enough) and is filled with little rooms, corridors, and nooks of artwork. Broadly split into American, European, and Ancient Art (and most other things too- I'd recommend the musical instrument room!), there are maps everywhere as well showing roughly where you are as well as an app too to give you a bit more depth on the artwork. I think everyone has their favourite section- I really like the recreated rooms from lost mansions in the New England area- and they have good examples from major artists such as Monet, Degas, and Copley.
They do great exhibitions- the current one is on Sargent and costume and was fantastic! So interesting to see the clothing worn in such famous portraits! There are also a lot of his paintings from private collections too that you may not have seen so worth going to if you're a fan!
Not surprisingly, it does get busy but I think it absorbs the numbers well and you can always find a quiet spot away from the crowds. The downstairs Garden Cafeteria is a good spot to get lunch and there's also the atrium restaurant too (this one does get busy, usually a queue!). There's multiple shops dotted around too with an exhibit one, a small one by the entrance and then a larger Main Shop. If you're into books- the main shop is great for them and they're very diverse, not just art!

I highly recommend it to anyone interested in experiencing a diverse range of artwork.

Whew! Oh yeah! You cannot see everything in one day. And that is how massive, impressive, and extensive this place is, which is an awesome testimony on how huge this place is. This is not an art gallery, it's a curated work of love and delightful experience that helped me understand and appreciate the world and people around me. By no means would I categorize myself as an arts person, I am far from that. I thought I'd would have been bored by going to the Boston MFA. My expectations where flipped upsidedown in the opposite direction. This was an amazing experience for me and my daughter. We could not see it all in one visit because we ran out of time after being there for hours, but we have been returning there because we're hooked. It's an outstanding place to go, to have fun while learning about many intriguing people, fascinating cultures, works of art, forgotten artifacts, along with historical and religious events and their stories. If you are in or near Boston, you must come and visit Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. Truly, a five star experience.

As I approached the museum, the grand neoclassical façade promised a world of treasures inside, and it did not disappoint. The museum is well-organized, with clear signage directing visitors to various exhibits—making the exploration both effortless and engaging.
Inside the museum, I was struck by the thoughtful presentation of art from across eras and continents. Notable was a bronze statue, possibly from the 15th-century, its verdigris patina lending an air of timelessness. The sculpture seemed to gaze at passersby, offering a silent narrative of history’s depth.
Equally impressive was a dramatic painting depicting what appeared to be a historic scene of chaos and grandeur, its dark, swirling sky looming over classical architecture. The painter’s mastery of light and shadow brought the scene to life, engulfing me in the depicted moment of turmoil and majesty.

The MFA is a great museum that has a varied selection of pieces and works. If you like Egyptian art, they have mummies. You like Roman statues, your in luck, they have some too. You like the impressionists? They have masterpieces from Degas, Monet, Van Gogh and Picasso? Absolutely a must! It's a nice size that can be visited in a day. Staff was helpful too. We visit every time we go to Boston.

Decent variety of artwork spanning across the ages. The general map they hand out is too high level so it’s hard to find specific artists and where they are located. Ex, John Singer Sargent. And the online search wasn’t efficient enough for this either. Cafe next to the store is available to sit and rest tired legs. Coat and bag check available. You can spend multiple hours here and not be able to see it all.

Absolutely world class, in every sense of the word. The galleries are extensive and you can easily spend an entire afternoon here and still feel like you didn’t see everything. It’s also easy to get to, since there’s a T station right out front!

Got to experience a snow game at Gillette, truly an incredible experience. Have been to three games now and really enjoy the stadium, but crazy as it sounds seeing it in the snow made it so much better.
Gillette is a unique NFL stadium as it’s located pretty far from a true urban area. You can really see this sitting in the nosebleeds, just forest in all directions. This means it can be challenging getting out of the area after the game if you drive. There is a train for $10 that goes here specifically for games and concerts from both Providence and Boston, this is personally my favorite way to get to and from Gillette.
Another cool aspect is the lighthouse, you can apparently pay to go up and see the field from that vantage. Additionally, Patriot Place Mall provides a lot of dining and shopping options for before and after the game. Definitely grateful to have had some memorable experiences at this iconic stadium!

Have been to a few Patriots games the last few years. Some recent parking changes have made getting into Patriots games somewhat easier. General parking (across Rte 1) is now free! This makes getting into the stadium much quicker. They also now have delayed exit lots where they PAY YOU to park there (but you're not allowed to leave until 90 minutes AFTER the game ends). I would actually do this next time - a $75 Visa gift card is worth it to me.
The stadium itself is very good. No obstructed seats, and the suites are pretty roomy. Food in the suites is somewhat average but hey, you're in a suite being served food and drinks with a private bathroom, so who's to complain about average food. Entry through the stadium gates is simple - just scan your e-ticket and you're through. There is always ample stadium personnel available to help you and they are always VERY friendly. The lighthouse just opened and for $5, you can go up and get a great view of the field and surrounding areas.
Patriot Place is filled with various restaurants and shops (plenty to do especially if you're waiting to leave from those delayed exit parking lots).

Gillette is a great place to see Taylor Swift because Taylor Swift is epic and her production is fantastic. To that extent, my experiences there have been great. But the parking and road management leaving is absolutely stupid, and really badly designed. I'm pretty sure it is a safety hazard to funnel thousands of people exiting the main entrance up a stairwell (to the shopping area) to cross a road packed in like sardines. Thankfully no one fell, but the stairs in a crowd like that is just not safe and I'm pretty sure that has got to be some kind of code violation. It took 45 minutes just to walk across the street. Leaving the parking and getting onto the road was okay once we reached the car, but again they shut down any turns on the road for at least five miles if not more and it's bumper to bumper the whole time because no one can exit that road. It's the stupidest set-up imaginable. But, for the rare occasions Taylor performs there, I'll deal with it. There is literally no one else on earth I would endure the Gillette exit hellscape for. Obviously they should put in pedestrian bridges or tunnels to cross over/under the road to the satellite parking across the street. It's truly the stupidest stadium design I have ever seen.

Nice venue for a concert, though the sound was actually kind of s*%t--not sure if this was because of where our seats were. We were in section 129 and sound was very fuzzy. Bummer. Very easy to get into and out of. I expected it to be worse getting out. We did notice that people who paid $50 and $60 for parking in the private lots (gas stations, etc. along Rte. 1) had a longer walk to the stadium and back to their cars and still had to deal with traffic on the way out, possibly even more than those of us coming out of general parking. Save your money and use general parking.

Game was good seats are good, however if you have knee or hip problems and you want an elevator good luck, elevators are locked and you have to walk a 1/4 of the stadium to get to an elevator in the club section.

Went to a concert at this stadium. Although it was raining on the day we went the stadium was very nice. Lots of places to buy drinks, treats, and concert memorabilia. Easy to get in and out with lots of staff and state troopers to guide us along. You have to walk to and from the parking areas but it wasn't too far to go. At the end of the concert, the state troopers closed off part of the double highway. There were 5 lanes all going one way, so leaving was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I'd definitely like to go back someday.

The last two times I came to the Patriots game I had really great seats! but too bad they lost both times! but other than that it's always so fun to tailgate before the game, if you don't tailgate then you can walk around the outside shops. There's so many different things for you to do with your children if you have children & or go on a date night.

Very nice outdoor stadium. With the Patriots history here, it's nearly a historic monument. The stadium was opened in 2002, and it's home to the tallest lighthouse in America.

Very nice stadium. Doesn't appear to have any horrible seats. Even the nose bleed seats had good views. The food was all very good with excellent prices compared to what I am used to in NYC. Also mad props to the Krafts for providing free parking for the Army Navy game!!!

Able to go to Gillette for the first time. Stadium is beautiful and all the staff was incredible. Well run machine. Only negative for us was the no cash/ visa only. It's understandable with sponsorship ties. Seating, food, and everything was great. People who sat around us were super. Not one bad thing for the day.

Billy Joel & Stevie Nicks we’re amazing!! The whole show was awesome and they played all of the hits. Though, there was a huge problem with Gillette that should be spread to everyone if they buy tickets up in the 300’s. The view of the stage is nearly blurry and the screens don’t even help. Whole show it rained and everybody’s view was getting blocked as people kept walking up and down the aisle stairs. The pictures may look not that far away but it really was. Another complaint is that we tried to find our parking spot and an hour later we found it. Multiple security workers told us to go all different ways and one of them told us to go walk on the side of the road. The last complaint is that they didn’t even use the brand new big screens they just added in. Everyone was complaining. Felt like a wet dog after the show too. Bought food inside the venue and it was surprisingly cheap. $15 for a burger and French fry meal. Definitely a good venue to attend as long as it’s not raining and you gotta have good seats. Will be returning for Metallica next year, I hope I will be pleased….

We love going to Gillette stadium for Revs games. I am not a stadium expert by any measure, but the concrete looks really great, the seats all seem to fold nicely, and most importantly there is a really nice area in the middle for sporting and dancing. I think Taylor Swift loved it there briefly last summer, so if you are into dancing and singing then you may love it there too.

The greatest place I have been in a long time I am from Houston and a huge Patriots fan and seeing this stadium for the first time in my life up close and personal. It was amazing to me and it's different especially with stores around as if a big mall before entering the stadium.
Unique B&B in the home of the 1892 Borden ax murders, with traditional rooms, free tours & Wi-Fi.
The house is BEAUTIFUL and everyone I had come across was so kind. My tour guide was Vic, she was absolutely incredible to say the least. The tour was so fascinating and definitely the highlight of my business trip. Her personality was so spunky and she knew how to keep the group involved and listening. She answered every question I had even down to the heights of the members in the household! I would love to come back again soon, and plan to do the Fall River ghost tour with them as well! Thank you for doing such a wonderful job of entertaining my morbid curiosity!

We arrived at the bed and breakfast for a 11:30 tour. Our tour guide, Jay, was very attentive to our needs in the gift shop, pointing out the bathroom and gifts for sale. He walked us through the house pointing out all the historical areas and explained very plainly about the crime scene, the people involved in the investigation and the trial of Lizzie. He explained where the final resting place of the entire Borden family was located and explained how to get to the grave site. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the history of the house, location and town! Very happy with the tour! Stayed the night in the Lizzie and Emma suite. Not a
Fan of the shared bathroom, but I understand the building having limited space and the owners trying to keep it as true to the original as possible. Enjoyed the free range of the first floor. Everyone was very respectful and friendly and it was quiet after quiet hours. Our light kept going off on its own and at one point in the middle of the night, around 3:00 am I awoke to our main door opening even though I was sure I bolted it shut, and the door to Emma’s room was closed when it had been open when we went to bed. Other then that it was a restful night!!

Stayed the night last week in the John Morse (murder) room. The house is gorgeous and so full of history. Did the 10pm ghost hunt with Phil (one of the tour guides) and he was great. It was an interesting (and scary) experience and I in fact did not fall asleep at all that night, just stayed up and enjoyed lounging in the cozy bed watching movies on my phone. Paid for breakfast in the morning, it was delicious and the staff were so friendly. Concluded my stay with an official house tour, which was also super fun and informative. Parking was a breeze and the gift shop is located in the back barn. Highly recommend but the ghost hunt is not for the faint of heart!

Visiting the Lizzie Borden House has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, and once I found out you can stay the night…YES PLEASE! I’ve never had a paranormal experience until last Monday night. A friend of mine and I stayed in Bridget Sullivan’s room on the third floor, which I already knew coming in that floor tends to be more active. We also did a ghost hunt (which I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend…Ashley was fabulous!) during which my hair was pulled on the third floor. During the night I had my feet played with along with my nose being touched. Otherwise I slept just fine! I stayed here for the history and the paranormal aspect and knew it wouldn’t be like your typical B&B. The rooms could have used like bottles of water or something versus needing to purchase them from the shop, but overall that didn’t bother me much. Sad that you have to pay for breakfast versus a continental one offered, but again, didn’t bother much. I just went next door to the Lizzie Cafe for breakfast. Overall from the fellow guests to Ashley our ghost hunting guru and everyone we encountered it was a highlight to my trip!!! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a spooky good time!

We had an amazing time visiting the Lizzie Borden house! We took a tour of the house and stayed in the Andrew Jennings room that night! Emily was an awesome tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We were able to park in the back of the house and had no trouble getting into the house or our room. The room was great and there were plenty of amenities in the bathroom. We would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed a private tour of the house/museum. Everything has been restored authentically. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It was fascinating to learn about the case and be where it all happened! Warning that you'll be shown some graphic autopsy photos so speak up if you'd rather not. Highly recommend for history buffs or true crime fans. We did not stay overnight, just did the tour and gift shop.

It was so fun!!! The best part of the experience was the staff, they were so nice and knowledgeable. It was so cool. I do have to admit the basement was scary but the rest of the house actually had really good vibes. HIGHLY recommend this spot to anyone traveling to southern New England.

As a true-crime fan and Lizzie Borden buff, I can't think of a better place to spend a spooky night! It's not a fancy hotel, definitely a bed & breakfast (with shared bathrooms for some rooms), so definitely visit with intentions to meet your neighbours and get cozy. That's part of the fun! The staff was very knowledgeable, extra welcoming and tons of tun. Total bucket-list experience and highly recommended! & Big thanks to the super-sweet Paige for going above and beyond to make us comfy. :)

Well, I did not plan on ever going to the Lizzie Borden House but while on a business trip I saw it on Google maps. My daughter has read the story and even plans on visiting the house someday. She previously told me a few tidbits of the story that peaked my interested upon discovering I was so very close to the house where such an event took place so long ago. I thought why not. I can go check it out, as I will most likely never be near here again.
First, I will say the house has been restored outside very well. Understanding the desire to maintain the architectural history, the owners have done a great job even after making several current day upgrades to provide a comfortable, safe and inviting bed and breakfast for guests.
Second, the ghost tour was a fantastic way to learn more about the town and spiritual presence that still lurks though the shadows throughout the day. The level of history given and the walking distance was appropriately determined.
The Ghost Tour ending inside the house was a great look into the past and creates a stirring imagination of just what happened on the important day in history that created the need for the Lizzie Borden Dead…I mean, Bed and Breakfast. There are pictures already posted here go see for yourself, but take the extra step and visit. It is worth it. Pictures may say a thousand words, but smell, touch and sight create a story and memory forever.
Bring an open mind and open heart to the tour, leave any skepticism behind. Be grateful, you will leave with a closed skull at the end.
This is a must experience, if for nothing else but to learn a little history about the once thriving city of River Falls, Connecticut.

It was a great experience! The gift shop is located around back of the house and that's where you check in, and where the gift shop is as well. They have a great selection of shirts, magnets, games, puzzles, post cards, etc. The house is simply beautiful, it's like stepping back in time and seeing what the family was seeing at the time. Our tour guide was amazing! He was so kind and knew so much information we didn't already know from past research and videos we have looked at. Jack is definitely one to be recommended when it comes to the tours, he is also more good looking in person! There is an add on for the basement and it was worth the extra few dollars. The group was a great size and we all talked prior to going into the house, we all were excited to be there. I hope whoever goes here next has as much fun as us!

My husband and I stayed at the Lizzie Borden house for my birthday with another couple and we had a great experience during our stay. We felt very comfortable and safe staying at the house with the key pad lock for entry. The house was was well kept considering how old it is and everything was clean the only complaint I have is the towels they give you to use for the shower are very used worn, but we did bring our own towel so we didn’t have to use the ones they offered. We did the night time tour from 10-12 our guide was fun and informative luckily we had a good group of people and the ones hat were loud and weren’t into the tour so much kinda did their own thing so it didn’t interfere with us. The next day we went and checked out the second home Lizzie had purchased and the grave sites of the family which was farely close and then we enjoyed Newport which was a 15-20min ride.

We really enjoyed our stop at the home of Lizzie Borden. Our tour guide was great, he clearly knew the history of the home and that of Lizzie.
I think it would be a great place to stay the night, but we didn’t know that it was an option before we stopped by. My bad.
The reason for the 3/5 is due to the price of admission: $215 for 6 people to tour the home for an hour is a bit much. I was even more surprised that for the price, the tour of the basement was not included. I believe that was almost another $10 per person.

Absolutely wonderful! Rooms so nice. Felt completely comfortable So historic. Woke up around 5:30am and we both had tears in our eyes. Very odd, we are not superstitious and came for the history not the paranormal type experience, but we both found it odd. Definitely recommend the stay.
Debra Holder — Google review
The experience was definitely on par with what I was expecting, which was a wonderful thing. We arrived quite early and while it was interesting to snoop about the house, having others there to me adds proper flavor. I’d recommend booking the night tour for the heck of it, or at least listening in here and there.
The long list of check-in instructions was helpful, as was the staff any time I contacted them before, during and after the trip. The rooms were comfortable. Thin walls and plenty of things to be careful of as it’s an old house, but the ambience created was fun, and there were some delightfully creepy moments created by the staff or… something else, who knows?
Location-wise, it’s Fall River so there’s only so much to do if you aren’t going to get stuck in with a paranormal investigation. Not a highly walkable area. There are decent shopping centers, a cinema, a marvelous maritime museum and some good restaurants to choose from a few minutes’ drive from the house. If you order food delivered to the house, the delivery people might have difficulty with knowing which entrance to knock on, so I suggest giving them details or waiting for them outside.
All in all we had a fun time and met plenty of other friendly people with a passion for ghosts!

I didn’t stay a Lizzie Borden B&B me and my friend took a tour of the house. A incredible tour guide named Emily Sheridan kept my completely intrigued. I went into Tour without a lot of knowledge or knowing about the family’s history. I wasn't expecting to step back in time upon our arrival at the house. The furnishings and décor gave the house's history an air of authenticity---of being present when the legendary events occurred in 1892. We arrived early and found a most helpful Jay in the gift shop who knew our name without asking. The accommodations were more than adequate with comfortable beds, a private bath, and plenty of hot water. Jay's tour of the house was entertaining as well as revealing and he was open to the many questions I bombarded him with. Rachel, the housekeeper, was an absolute delight and made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend a stay at the Borden House for anyone wishing to steep themselves in its solemn atmosphere and quietly contemplate the events that made it a landmark. Thank you, Jay, and Rachel for a most enjoyable stay.

My daughter and I recently enjoyed a tour here, and it was easily one of the best experiences we've had. Our tour guide Elliott was fantastic - friendly, engaging, and shared so many stories! The house is beautifully restored, and sets the tone for the events of 1892. We also learned a lot of details about the family, murders, and community that we didn't know before. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time at the Lizzie Borden house and our tour guide, Elliot, was quite impressive for such a young person. Elliot was engaging, informative, and entertaining and had just graduated from high school (spent a lot of time in the theater department). If you have a chance book a tour and get Elliot as your guide. The house is interesting and the story is always engaging and thought provoking. I think we will do it again next year and see what else we can learn about this fascinating case.
Pamela Rubisch — Google review
The tour was absolutely fantastic! We were fortunate to have the amazing Elliot as our guide, who was extremely knowledgeable and very nice! For the price ($30 per ticket), the value is amazing as the tour is an hour, and you are able to see all three floors. We opted for the basement tour as well (an additional $17). From the basement, you can still see remnants of the blood spatter from murder in 1892. The gift shop is also great!
Important notes: check in at the gift shop for the tour. You can see the famous ouiji board in the gift shop. We did not stay overnight, but the rooms are great, as one can see them all as part of the tour.

I cannot state enough how excited we were to stay at the Lizzie Borden house and on both occasions, we had an absolutely wonderful stay.
We are Paranormal Investigators and luckily we were able to investigate on both occasions.
The house did not disappoint us, and we had pretty amazing activity on both nights. It's a stunning house and you truly forget for a moment or two, the horrible crime that occurred there.
When you walk through the door, you could almost believe you have stepped back in time to 1892. The decor and artifacts set a hauntingly beautiful backdrop to a perfect stay in probably the country's most infamous bed and breakfast. The Staff who served us breakfast were delightful and the food was very good., but the chance to eat breakfast in the dining room where the Bordens had their last family meal and where the first autopsies were performed will probably be the reason we always choose to have breakfast when we visit in the future!

I've wanted to visit here for years and I finally made the trip! My tour guide was awesome and very patient despite the fact that the other people on the tour kept talking over him. I was a few minutes late and he even stayed back after the tour to show me what I missed. I stayed in the Hosea Knowlton room. The ghost tour that happened that night was so cool. Izzy was fantastic at answering all our questions and showing us how to use the equipment. Everyone got so much activity in the house it was crazy. I actually slept through the night. If the ghost children were playing in the room they didn't wake me up. I'll definitely be back and stay in another room to see if I get more activity in other rooms.

This tour was one of the most amazing experiences that I have had! This was a birthday present from my mother, and the both of us forever, so fortunate to take part in this extraordinary tour. Our tour guide was a true thespian and incredible individual who shared at the history of the board and family and the home in a manner that allowed us to immerse our self into what she was sharing. There were so many intricate parts of history that were related to this family I have never heard, that has been conveniently unreported or left out.…. Until now. The Roger Williams Park Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the country, and it has a number of modern design features that make it a great option for kids. You can meet a variety of animals here, including snow leopards, giraffes, elephants, and zebras.
I like this zoo so much. They have so many animals. The size is good for a family. The Roger Williams Park also huge, includes museum and a lake that you can play swan boat. A very fun, clean. and welcoming zoo all around. I have come here a few times and experienced a normal zoo day, as well as the October pumpkin carved event, and the Asian Lantern Spectacular. The lantern event was stunning. It’s fun being in the park at night, but the light displays were incredible to see. The size and scale of them all - and a few even moved! We have a membership because my son is obsessed with this zoo! It’s always very clean, and the staff are always super nice. My son is autistic, and if you have a person in your life on the spectrum, I highly recommend. My tip would be to go during the week, and get there right as they open. The park can get really busy with lots of families, so it can be very overwhelming to those who have sensitivities and sensory problems. My son adores the zebras, the elephants, and the giraffes! All the animals are very well taken care of, and have roomy enclosures. The staff do a lot of work in conservation, and ensuring that endangered species are protected well.

One of the best zoos I have visited. I've never been able to see or be near a cheetah! I must have been lucky to see that all the animals were out today. There was a fun dinosaur exhibit for the kiddos the week I went. I didn't expect the zoo to be so big! I ended up staying for 2-3 hours and enjoyed every minute! You can tell the animals were very well taken care of ❤️ There is also a cute little petting farm here.

Our recent visit to the zoo was nothing short of magical. All thanks to DJ Hill, our incredibly knowledgeable and engaging tour guide, who made the experience truly unforgettable.
DJ Hill's passion for the animals was evident, as he told us about special and personal connections he had to some animals in the park.
The highlight of our day was an unexpected surprise - the sloths! We were thrilled to see these amazing creatures up close. This was an added bonus we didn't expect, but it made our tour even more memorable!
But the most magical moment of the day was undoubtedly the engagement proposal. DJ did an incredible job at incorporated the proposal into our animal encounter. My girlfriend was surprised and overjoyed!
The zoo, the Zuuber tour, and DJ Hill played an integral part in making this day one of the happiest days of our lives. We can't recommend this experience enough!

What a fantastic zoo. We were very happy to see the large enclosures the animals had. The zoo is very large and very easy to make your way through the entire zoo. There are many benches along the way if you get tired to take a rest. They time event the tickets so the crowds were not overwhelming. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. There is a good variety of animals. This was the nicest zoo I have ever visited. If you get tired of looking at animals they have a very fun zipline you can do for an added cost inside the zoo. There are carriages to rent for children and wheelchairs for those who need one. Parking was easy and ample. Very affordable prices would definitely recommend this for children and adults.

Get the membership! It pays for itself after 2 times and allows for discounts for special events. My son and I can casually walk around for a couple hours and just take it all in. The exhibits are well kept and the animals are very clearly taken care of. Each time we go we try and spend a little time learning a little something extra about one of the animals by utilizing the qr codes posted around the exhibits. Restrooms are all over the zoo so you aren't searching for one when you need one. My only big complaint is about the food which leaves something to be desired, but knowing that I just pack a lunch.

An incredible zoo and a fun time for the whole family. Vending machines are way over priced, though so bring a water and save your extra money for the gift shop or a quick lunch.

This zoo was equally wonderful and disappointing depending on the exhibit. Some of the animal had great enclosures while others seemed to be in too small a space with very little greenery. The donkey, the zebras, watusi and the wildebeasts are sad. It was nice to see some animals I haven’t seen before. This was not the best zoo but for sure pretty decent. It was clean and the employees were very pleasant.

A Lil Providence Treasure!
Located in one of my favorite parks on the East Coast, RWPZ is a family-friendly experience for all ages - both a zoo and nice walk around the wetlands. Our favorite part was the Faces of the Rainforest building, where some animals have an open enclosure and are allowed to roam the building! It was surreal to explore the rainforest (and yes, it's very humid conditions) with sloths, birds and golden tamarins moving about. Watch out for the bird poop though!
You could get pretty close to some of the animals, especially those in their indoor enclosures. It allows you to view animal adaptations and behaviors more vividly (especially in the Rainforest)! The animals were fairly active earlier in the day (and probably would be again at the end of the day)- as typical with most zoos.
The zoo was easy to navigate, had food and restroom facilities open even during reduced winter capacity, and most animals were viewable to the public (some moved to indoor enclosures instead of their typical outdoor ones). There's some construction to build new buildings, renovate exhibits or move new animals into exhibitions (like the serval, penguins, and red pandas), so that's something to keep in mind.
Education: since there is no public educational programming in the winter, I don't feel like the zoo taught me much. There was some information about each animal (what you normally see displayed in zoos but I will say the fun facts and sometimes mentioned conservation efforts) but little to no information about their natural habitats or conservation efforts themselves. The Rainforest exhibit is on the newer end and is educational, so I'm hoping it's just a matter of upgrades.
Cost: $10.50 (admission was discounted 50% in the winter; admission is typically $21 for adults)
AZA Reciprocity: typically honored with a 50% discount; was not in effect during our visit because of the winter discount
Accessibility: while the walking paths were clear from the snow and clearly marked, most exhibits didn't have automatic doors
Wait Times: only ticket booth was open so there was a short wait (less than ten minutes) to purchase tickets or show them an online ticket for entry; there is a pretty $5 processing fee for online tickets so we decided to purchase tickets online
Travel: about a 1.5hr drive from Boston or accessible by bus (arrives directly to the front gates)
Parking: free parking is available on-site and pretty plentiful; overflow lots are located nearby in the park
Restrooms: the best thing was the plentiful restrooms at every corner! the hasbro background area for families with children even had a changing area, separate from the neighboring restroom
Collectibles: collectible penny machines are $1 and presently didn't have RWPZ enamel pins
Recycling Program: recycle your e-waste by the ticket/entrance booths for free
Food Pantry: open to those who need it. that's a grab and go style food pantry by the entrance for visitors to leave non perishable items in or take items they need
Other Notes: minimal reptiles at this zoo

I visited the Roger Williams Park Zoo, taking advantage of the first beautiful day of the year. Despite it being a busy day, the zoo never felt overcrowded, allowing us to enjoy our visit at a relaxed pace. It had been several years since my last visit, and I was impressed to see clean grounds and has a thoughtful layout. The selection of wildlife was diverse and engaging, making our trip truly memorable. Highly recommend for a pleasant day out!

Went for the Jack O Lantern Spectacular, bought tickets ahead of time so it wouldn't be too much of a hassle getting in.
Well, I can tell you going through the ticket booth is the least of your worries - finding parking was the most draining part about the visit.
There were no signs pointing where to go specifically for the event.
The roads and the signs within the zoo weren't lit either so it felt like every man for himself trying to find parking.
Once you do find parking, you're hoping you can come across other people so you get an idea of where to go.
Also if you go too late, a lot of concession stands are closed so if you get there past 7, make sure you're dressed warmly and have eaten something already because the lines at the places still open will take forever.
The actual tour was nice, they definitely go a long way to set the atmosphere. The Lanterns were so cool but everyone also wants a picture so expect to inevitably bump into people. They had different themes throughout the tour and it was amazing seeing how intricate they could get.
Sensory warning -
*If you get overstimulated by a lot of sound, I highly recommend sound reducing headphones* and expect to encounter kids with flashing light toys of some sort.
Overall it wasn't bad but there's a lot that could be improved in terms of organization and making it easier to plan for the throngs of people, especially on the weekend.
Get there at least half an hour before your scheduled time slot so you have a chance to find parking closer to the event entrance.

Great walkable zoo with nice exhibits. Cheetahs were most active late in the day at closing (feeding?) time. The walk-in building with the tropical birds and monkeys was very cool as the monkeys, birds, and sloths were all free within the building and 'jungle' as you walked through it.

Love visiting for the Jack-o-lantern spectacular for the past few years. Plenty of incredible works of art to admire. Go on a weekday so it's not too crowded. Parking is free and decent if the crowd is light. Stroll at your own pace and take in all the sights. Definitely fun for all.
Old Sturbridge Village is a living history museum located in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. It offers a re-creation of an 1830s settlement with costumed staff, rides, and activities for family entertainment. The village meticulously recreates rural New England life from the 1830s, complete with historic buildings, working farms, and costumed interpreters.
This is a remarkable destination. So many interesting things to do and see. I highly recommend getting the membership, even if you only go for one day you get a discount at the shops. you can see a lot in a few hours or spend the day enjoying all the attractions. If it's raining just bring an umbrella, there are plenty of indoor attractions.

This place was wonderful and very educational. It really is like it's own little village. There are some small hiking trails where you can see some awesome views. Watching the staff with the oxen was awesome and informative. I want to go back in warmer weather for the boat ride. The only thing I wish was that there was more "characters" dressed up. I am thinking maybe because it was cooler or because of COVID. The "characters" who were there were fascinating and knowledgeable. We spent a few hours here and it was lovely.

Great place to stop and learn about New England life in the early 1800s. There are many buildings of the period, furnished as they would have been. The have knowledgeable people in period dress there happy to educate and demonstrate many of the roles and daily tasks of a blacksmith, Cooper, cabinet maker, potter, and banker. They also did some baking and braiding straw for hats as well as read some letters of what it was like for women and the issues of that period.

Had a fantastic time at Old Sturbridge Village! It was absolutely beautiful all decorated for the season. Dress warmly for the Christmas Lights celebrations! It's cold but it makes it all the whole better when you slip into a house and look at all of the items and listen to the historians talk about what they really love.
Will visit again!

I have been here in all four seasons and am always impressed with the museum. People are dressed in period clothes, willing to teach a bit about early American History as folks wander from room to room, building to building. They do a great job. Nice shop, great pub, they host special events year round. Good for all ages, really nice way to spend a day.

We went in March and were able see how people who lived in the 1830's were able to collect and boil down maple sap to make molasses. All the houses were open and though the people who worked there wore masks they were not required of visitors. The village was a true village with blacksmith, saw mill, school etc. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable with the wagon ride being interesting and full of history as well. There were outhouses for visitors to see but 21 century plumbing for visitors to use. There were changing tables in the restrooms. The walking was easy and stroller friendly. The roads were sandy/gravel. A good pair of hiking shoes would be fine here. The chickens roam freely here. The cafeteria had sandwiches but there were no posted limits on outside food, the menu changes with the season so check their website before you go. Overall the experience was educational and laid back. We will be going back in warmer weather.

This is a beautiful historic place to visit. It transformed you into a time of simplicity and elegance in craftsmanship and liveliness. The kiddos will enjoy every minute of the walk and scenery. They even have at tavern for eats and games. You'll even catch a glimpse or two of the townsfolk strolling about the grounds. And interact with them as well. Perfect place for the whole family.

One of those places that you can go to over and over again. The amount of skill people had to have back then is amazing. Watching the blacksmith, the Cooper and the housewife making do with the ovens of the time. It's is an amazing step back into history. The actors seem very realistic to the period. The animals all look very well cared for. A wonderful time even in the rain.

My wife and I decided to check OSV out on a beautiful Sunday. I myself am not the biggest fan of museums and historical sites, however this place is amazing. All of the buildings are curated perfectly and the workers are very interactive and eagerly want to share information. There is something for everyone to enjoy. My wife and I could have sat in the blacksmith shop all day. Veterans and active duty have free admission.

Excellent! My 7 year old son and I had an amazing time. Great for all ages. Hands on for kids...and kids and heart. The costumed reactors are everywhere and give really interesting information. The grounds are beautiful, and the town is actually pretty big. It's like stepping back in time. In fact, I told my son we were going to be taking a time machine back in time to 1835. He was very into it, and wants to return for Halloween and Christmas.

The Christmas by candlelight was so peaceful. The mulled cider was an awesome treat to keep warm in the cold. The cookies are to die for and probably the best cup of hot cocoa I’ve ever had. Reading the “make a wish” area under the bridge makes you really take a look at life
**I thought the lighting ceremony would have been a little more organized, we all waited about 10 minutes past the lighting time, the light came on and that was it. No cheers, no leading up to the lighting. Just on and done with.

One definitely can spend a day here, even with quite a few exhibits closed (02/23/22) at the moment for seasons and/or reasons! Also, asking questions of the people who work there is still a great way to learn. Mind the occasional horse poo; you'll be just fine. ✌️

I went to the Christmas by Candlelight event on Sunday. Advice to heed is dress warm and you will do fine. My husband loved the 2 big bonfires they had going and I loved the carol singing at the church and the horse ride. Kind of like a trolley ride but with 2 big big big horses pulling them. And of course all the lights. Very pretty and puts you right in the festive mood. This was my first time doing this event and I will go back again next year if they are still doing this. Job well done.

Honestly a great place to go for all ages. Plenty to see and do. My favorite part are the various games they have scattered throughout the village. Free to play. You can go into every building. And they usually have someone in every building to chat with you about it. It really immerses you in the experience. I wish they sold more old timey clothes. Food is good. Plenty of it. Places to eat and bathrooms on site. It's a large place so expect lots of walking. But there are plenty of places to sit. Lots of animals as well.

It is lovely to just walk the village and enjoy the sights. The villagers tending to the shops and farm are well presented and tell a fascinating story of 200 years ago. We visit often.

Phenomenal experience. This was my family’s first time at this fun Halloween event at Sturbridge Village and we loved it! From the historical village, living exhibits, fun and willing to play along staff, we had a great time. Our 3rd grader especially enjoyed the ghost stores by the fire. The gentleman that entertained the audience with the spooky but not too scary stories was an excellent storyteller. We enjoyed the popcorn and cookies at the concession stand and the many different shows to attend throughout the evening.

We attended Sturbridge Village on one of their Homeschool Days and it was wonderful. The workshops were affordable and practical, my girls especially loved the sewing & cooking. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The grounds were well-kept and really immerse you in the experience. We were lucky enough to see the newborn lambs, which were absolutely adorable. Great place overall, we plan to visit again soon!

This is a great place for children and adults alike. We went on the tail end of Maple Days, and it's getting a bit too late in the season to see the full mapling process. February would likely be a better time to visit.
It's a very immersive experience. The guides are dressed in period clothes to explain the structures/buildings, and what it's for; and there are even live demonstrations. I like that the guides are not "in character" because it allows for much more natural conversation/interaction, and an actual engaging learning experience.

2-18-24 - We brought our kids here 25 years ago. Was working nearby and decided to revisit. I love this place. Hiking around in February. Snow on the ground. No crowds. Ample time to chat with the reenactors. Lots of space and inspiration to imagine life in 1838 New England -- before screens, electricity, and AI. Before world wars and school shootings and SUVs. Kids shrieking with joy when they see farm animals, fascinated by the shoemaker and candle making. A lovely experience.

Great place to visit, arrived around 11 a.m was there for about 4 hours. No long queues, so we were able to walk around leisurely.
Lots of great places to take photo's. On entering you receive a timetable of various activities taking place throughout the day.. Like basket/chair weaving, blacksmith, silversmiths and carpentry demonstrations.! etc
All attractions give historic information regarding to the buildings.
I Would highly recommend.!

Loved it, a trip through history there’s so much more potential for this village, not advertised properly like have more items customized with village names and the chance to sell the products made at the village as well, like a notebook made as a print house and such. All in all I love the experience. Staff on board are very knowledgeable and very kind and answer all kind of questions. Very patient was children.

We came for Homeschool Days, had a fantastic time. Joan led a water color class. She kept us entertained with fun facts about the village and did a great job showing the students how to see patterns and how to draw simple botanical examples. Blacksmiths, Tinmaker, Towne House poetry and tour, newborn lambs, and well presented history rounded out our amazing day!
