Outdoor Activities
Glen Eagle Golf Club, an exquisite 27-hole facility located in the picturesque Albion Hills of York Durham Headwaters, was expertly crafted by renowned golf course architect Rene Muylaert. The course boasts exceptional maintenance and a warm and welcoming staff, offering a convenient shuttle service to the club house. However, some inconveniences may arise as the range occasionally closes due to irrigation and the restaurant may not be open for breakfast or at the turn.
Great course, well three 9s. Played from blue to yellow challenging. Fairways are good condition, greens are perfect. Staffs great!! The starters friendly had some good tips!!

The course is awesome, the staff is less so. The guy that works in the proshop (just came back after a long time away,) should have stayed away. Rudeness is not a goid quality for someone in the service industry.

I didn't golf but I went in to pick up a gift card/passes for a friend.
The shop was very clean and tidy. The staff was friendly, clean and sharp looking. Everyone greeted which was surprising. I was treated very kindly. Thanks!

We hosted a Bridal shower at Glen Eagle this past weekend and had an amazing experience! Highly recommend this venue for any event. The venue itself is gorgeous with the big windows, wood floors, easily accessible bathrooms and great lighting. The staff are so reliable, efficient and accommodating. Mark was so helpful the day of our event. He truly cared about our event and wanted everything to run smoothly. The bar tender was so sweet and did such a good job making the signature drink we had asked for. And all the other staff were honestly wonderful. I can’t put in to words how refreshing it was to work with a venue that truly cared and were so organized. Thank you soooo much Glen Eagle for such an amazing experience! We will definitely be back to host another event with you. Highly recommend this venue!

We hosted a fundraising tournament for our varsity team at Glen Eagle, and things went very smoothly! The staff onsite were friendly and helpful, and were accommodating to our requests and needs. The venue space for our dinner and reception was lovely, with large windows, wood floors, etc. The golfers and dinner attendees had a great time, and we will look to host our annual event there next year!

We hosted our wedding at Glen Eagle Golf Club October 2018 and we would highly recommend this venue to family and friends! Great food was a high priority for us and they did not disappoint. Our meal was absolutely phenomenal, we were able to customize our menu and bar to suit our needs and a variety of dietary restrictions. There were a ton of options, it was all cooked to perfection with super fresh ingredients. Many compliments to the chef!
From start to finish the wedding planning process was so simple and effortless. Glen Eagle is the complete package. We wanted a rustic but classic venue and they delivered (the stone fireplace in the Albion room got me!). We primarily communicated with Jaymie, who was attentive and helpful, answering any questions and a huge support. We finalized our details and had our tasting with Brad, I can confidently say communication between the two of them was clear and they both ensured our day went off without a hitch.
The serving staff was professional and attentive, everyone who worked the night of our wedding was very helpful and accommodating. Glen Eagle staff was a huge help with set-up, bringing my vision to life and worked well with outside vendors. We had a point of contact on site up until the end of the night including clean-up.
Our photos turned out beautifully thanks to the meticulously maintained grounds. Our guests raved about cocktail hour, the variety and quality of of hors d'oeuvres and the overall atmosphere. Glen Eagle is a hidden gem, I would definitely consider them for future events.

A little expensive for what it is but the course itself is always in great condition and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Forgiving course and lots of variety with 27 holes. For amateur/weekend golfers this course is great

Course is in great shape. Friendly staff and nice to have shuttle to club house. Got there early to use range before my 8:00am round to find out range was closed because irrigation was on. I like to warm up before tee off. Hoping to grab breakfast only to find restaurant closed.. and at the turn to find restaurant still closed.. green fees a little high..

Nice golf course , nice food and excellent staff

It seems like a very plain “boys-club”
Nothing special as their main focus is golf. Place needs updating to get them out of the 70’s. Its more like a catering hall n cafeteria than a place for any nice events, however, the large patio with large gazebo is very nice fir wedding ceremonies. Bonus is that it is very economical for a wedding in comparison to other venues.
IN RETROSPECT....
Indeed I did not go there just to do a review. I hope no one does that. I appreciate the response to my first review. I was attending an event. To be fair, i will be attending other events there and look forward to reviewing the positive as the response suggests.
Thank you

Golf in October! Hockey has started, baseball playoffs are under way, and Fall golf, doesn't get any better.
The Blue/yellow course was in great shape. Never played here before, so I would like to see how good the course conditions are in mid season, they must be fantastic!
Not an easy course, but who wants easy? Greens are nicely guarded, fairways are fairly tight with enough room for a bit of error off the tee.
Definitely would come back, a bit of a drive from Toronto, but then most of the worth while course are too.
kenny l — Google review
For the time of the year was in great shape, the drive to the yellows was long though and I wasn't a fan of the yellow 9 but the red 9 was great! Friendliest staff, had a fun round of golf shot 91 first time ever playing this course
Brad hogan — Google review
Great track, target style golf! Lots of dog legs and interesting tee shots. Lots of fun overall! Staff was great!! Even our pairing was awsome!
We started on the Yellow 9 which is at the back of the course, so its a bit of drive to get to the first tee, so leave yourself an etra 10 min to make it to the tee deck. We followed that to the Red 9.
Great course, it just needs a bit of TLC. Greens were rolling nice but were patchy in spots. Bunkers were rough, but managed to stay out of them for the most part! Tee decks could use a little work as well.. With a little bit of TLC this could be a real gem!!
Would definitely go back!
Armen Nahabedian — Google review
The course is long and beautiful, there are practice chipping and putting greens as well as a driving range. However our golfing was completely ruined by the over-booked snail paced speed of play. The starter actually sent foursomes out in front of us on the tenth hole because the first hole was so backed up. We were already stuck behind two foursomes on the same tee. We waited over 10 minutes at the end of each hole, often more. I would recommend you stay away from this course on a weekend as no amount of early scheduling can avoid the over booking that happens here. Disappointing as the staff are very nice and the facility is great.

Great course! Went several times for a Special Olympics tournament and the staff was great! The food they served at lunch and dinner was also good and serving staff was very friendly. During the course, the attendants that drive around and serve beer (and sometimes other liquor) are very friendly. Good environment.

The Spirit Catcher is a magnificent 21-meter high kinetic sculpture created from steel and inspired by indigenous mythology of the thunderbird. It is situated along the Barrie waterfront and serves as a navigational aid to travellers and citizens alike, while also acting as a prominent meeting place. This installation has paved the way for numerous art pieces around the city. The sculpture's unique design features subtle movements that can be observed even at night or during rainy weather.
Beautiful sculpture, even when we visited at night and it was raining. We could see subtle movements in the sculpture. I would like to visit again on a windy day to see the sculpture in full movement. Very unique, and much larger than I had thought it would be.

Such a beautiful sculpture by the water. I went on a weekday night and found it very pleasant to the eye in the night. Nice place to capture wonderful memories as pictured.

The sculpture is a focal point on the Barrie waterfront, and serves as both a meeting place and navigational aid to travellers and citizens of the city alike. The installation of the sculpture initiated a drive to place numerous pieces of art around the city which continues to this day.

Very big metal statue of a thunderbird called Spirit Catcher donated in 1986. Created by Artist Ron Baird. Looks rustic. Parking is available right beside the statue but it is not free.
We came in the winter months and the path is not clear so you have to climb over snowbanks if you want to get closer to the plaques to read information about the art installation. It’s a good 5 min break or for a quick drive by as a point of interest if you happen to be in the area.

We had season pass and went skiing for several sessions this season. Great place, family friendly. It doesn't get busy which is great.
It's a good place for beginners skiers, conveniently located a short drive from Toronto, just off of Highway 400.
We'll be back next season!

This year I am trying to embrace winter a bit more which means escaping to local getaways and trying out winter activities. I finally tried out tubing for the first time at HorseshoeValley. It is about one and a half hours north of Toronto and in the Barrie area.
You can tube for 3 hours although I lasted about an hour. There are other activities that you can try too such as snow shoeing, skiing, snowboarding and more. Tickets can be purchased in advance and I highly suggest going early for a more quieter and enjoyable experience. They have three session to choose from to do the tubing. It would be a good idea to try to a combination of activities for variety. It also be nice to get a combined package although I did not notice this and hope it gets introduced.
With restrictions in place it is a great activity to try out this year. It be nice to see this area developed more and hope to come back next year and try other the other activities available. Make sure to check it out and explore and support local in Ontario. They are located at 1101 Horseshoe Valley Rd W, Barrie, ON.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay however the resort looks tired… really could use an overhaul, not just lipstick and mascara to give the illusion of modernization. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The customer service was great from guest services to restaurant staff. I couldn’t believe they charge $15 each for mini golf…. The course is ancient and in a state of disrepair, totally unacceptable to charge this for what it is. The price to mountain bike (rentals and lift ticket etc) was ridiculously overpriced, close to $140 per person…. Needless to say we did not participate. The pizza restaurant was great… excellent food and reasonably priced, friendly servers. Overall a nice stay but resort and amenities need an overhaul… the price should reflect what you get for it. 3/5 stars in my opinion.

This is a fantastic place for a family vacation. I went with my wife and two kids, 10 and 8, to ski and snowboard.
The slopes were perfect for our family, with a good variety of runs, both easy and mid-level. The kids have been learning on a smaller hill, so having the opportunity to ski and snowboard on higher and longer runs was a very nice treat. There aren't very many advanced runs, so if you're looking for a challenge, this isn't the place for you.
We bought the ski and stay package, so we got passes for night skiing, the one night at the hotel, and the full day of skiing the next day, which is very good value compared to all those sold separately. Lines were virtually non-existent, as we were there on Thursday night and all day Friday. We would ski down the hill and ski right onto the chairlift, occasionally waiting a minute for 3 or 4 groups of people ahead of us.
There is an amazing terrain park, which requires a separate park pass to go on. There was a competition occurring when we visited, and it was amazing to watch the competitors do their tricks live.
There is nothing else nearby, so you're limited to the restaurant choices on resort, which are of course quite expensive, but they do the job of giving you a chance to warm up and get some food in your belly so that you're ready to get back out on the slopes.
We stayed at the Inn, which is furthest from the hill out of all the hotel options, but still very much walkable with your gear from your room. The rooms are simple, but ours was clean and comfortable. We only needed a place to sleep and otherwise didn't spend any time there. There's a small pool in the hotel, along with a hot pool and sauna.
Overall, a fantastic place to bring a young family. I'm sure that we'll be returning again next year.

The staff is truly exceptional. They are very friendly and competent. We were traveling in a large group and there was a wedding the same weekend at the hotel and the front desk staff showed no signs of stress. We were checked in rapidly.
The restaurant staff are equally friendly and the food was good.
The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Everyone in our group had a lovely stay.

I recently visited Horseshoe Valley Ski Resort and found it perfect for beginners. It's not too far from Toronto, which is convenient. The green-level ski paths are ideal for those just starting out – they're easy and well-maintained. The resort staff are friendly and helpful, making the experience even better for newcomers. The facilities, including the ski lifts and rental process, are efficient and user-friendly. After skiing, the lodge is a cozy place to relax. Overall, Horseshoe Valley is a great choice for beginners looking for a fun and easy skiing experience.

Fun 2 night winter family stay, the resort offers a lot in the one location for a good value price - you would pay the same amount for just a hotel room with no facilities elsewhere. We stayed here once before in summer and that was nice too. Sure it could do with some simple updates in the rooms and pool area but really it is a nice location, good activities for our kids and ourselves. The skiing is pricey, but that is Ontario not just Horseshoe. I would happily go back again, the loft room in the main Inn was ideal for us. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Great mid week trip! Stayed at the Copeland House where our suite was big, spacious and well equipped. Better than most in Ontario AND Quebec. Excellent Cross Country Skiing in the Copeland Forest. Very friendly staff in the hotel and restaurants. Perfect mid week break. We already have recommended to others!

Had a great day riding the chairlift with the kids, hiking and playing mini golf. A great place for a day trip. Haven't stayed in the hotel, but it looked clean and welcoming. Friendly staff were very helpful. Great Kawartha Dairy ice cream. We will definitely be coming back.

Really loved our stay at Horseshoe. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Everything on the resort is so close together and easy to access. Our family enjoyed the lake/beach as well as the indoor pool. Nice trails and smaller activities for the kids (basketball, playground, etc). Would come back for sure! Only note is that the rooms are a little dated (more on the darker side) but overall clean and comfy.
Nikki72872 — Google review
The room was comfortable but we were placed in a room right by the entrance and elevators. Every time someone walked in and was talking (everyone was loud) we were woken up. This happened late throughout the night and early in the morning. The resort should discount these rooms or warn guests in advance. Terrible sleep, felt like torture being woken up every hour.

It's ok. Definitely better than not skiing, but a million times worse than skiing in BC or Vermont or Colorado or any other area that has real hills. The price to satisfaction ratio is very low and they put a "resort tax" on things you buy here which doesn't even seem legal.
Staff are great, no problems there, everyone is kind and courteous.

Didn't stay here but came with my spouse for the discovery Ski package and we had the greatest of time. Rob and Robert were amazing in helping us to learn skiing for the first time and they were patient all along. The two-hour session was great to learn the ski principles and the package included time till 9pm to do skiing on your own. Beginner hills, magic carpet and lift chairs were all well and staff were very helpful. Rentals department and staff were amazing too as they made sure we were well equipped and answered all our newbie questions. We would highly recommend this location and package to newbies. Have fun!

We had a great stay, staff was friendly, breakfast buffet was warm and wonderful. Came after the long weekend so we beat the rush. Enjoyed snow tubing though the hill is ‘cute’. Our fireplace in our loft wasn’t working which was a bummer but overall clean room and nice service. Would come again.

In a realm of leisure, where waves gently flirt,
There's a man named John, his skills expert.
At the resort, his touch is pure finesse,
Crafting moments, guests forever impressed.
With a smile as warm as the tropical sun,
He weaves hospitality, second to none.
In the lobby's embrace, a maestro at play,
John orchestrates joy in a seamless display.
From check-in to sunset, his service shines bright,
Anticipating needs with a keen insight.
A magician of comfort, a guardian of ease,
In John's world, hospitality's a gentle breeze.
Among pine trees and slopes of snow,
He's the maestro of moments, setting souls aglow.
In the symphony of resort life, he's the song,
A harmonious dance, where John belongs.

Staying off the resort but came for the day to ski, there were not many runs open, seems like they're having trouble making snow. There were no deals so you pay full price for what seemed like less than half the runs open. Had lunch at the cafeteria, and it was pretty good, the portions were large. The hot dog combo was $16 and you get tons of fries with it, and a medium fountain pop (refills are 75 cents). I'm sure the weather is a large factor here but a resort down the road has 31 of 35 runs open and has some good deals right now. I would come back again, when they're fully open.

Snow Valley Ski Resort is a winter destination that was established in 1952. The resort boasts 20 different runs for various snow activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. Visitors can enjoy seasonal events such as Under the Stars Snowshoe & Yoga and Chili Cookouts to meet new people or add to their group's fun. With group rates available, guests can keep the cost of entertainment low.
I had the opportunity to supervise youth in a snowboarding program at Snow Valley Ski Resort. I didn't expect I would learn to snowboard but I'm glad I did. Once a week, through the course of 6 weeks, a group of youth from various organizations travelled in coach buses to shred some powder! We started off on the beginner hills and half-way through the program, we started using the lifts to slide down the bigger hills. It was difficult at first but we eventually mastered the toe and heel method!
Masks were required when riding the hills. The staff are really helpful and kind. There is also a cafe place with a variety to choose from. All in all, it was quite an amazing experience!

The snow tubing here is so much fun! Best I have been to. The lift makes it very easy to get up there, the staff are so friendly and the chutes are high and fast!! We went in a Friday afternoon, there was hardly anyone there, in the 2 hours we went 9 times, that felt plenty. They have food/drinks and snacks as well

GREAT late season snow conditions. Super friendly staff. Fantastic run selection for learning and advanced skiers alike. It was my son's first time at a ski resort and on a snowboard. We will be back for sure!

I had a great time snowboarding but parents beware, for the easy hills, they will still make you purchase tickets even if you sit around, which I think is dumb. I purchased my 3-9pm pass online and still had to wait in line to get a tag, which seems counterintuitive to me. Washrooms were not that clean at the end of the day... but useable. But everything else was well maintained and there is plenty of parking so I gave them 3 stars.

What a great place to go for some snow fun
There are tons of hills for tubing, and one can go singles all the way up to 6 tubes together tonight. The people working these hills are some strong teens, time after time, pushing and pulling people to the edge, and they still have such great smiles on their faces, always polite 😊
Chalet is great, serves all the basics, fries are delicious
They have a donut Hut outside snow nut hut, name kills me
There's a mini tubing hills for the little ones too

really GREAT place for snow tubing, especially w/ the prefect weather :-) Recommend to visit in weekdays cause its cheaper and with less people. Not much wait time and we played for the entire 2 hours. You can have different combination - solo or with 2-5 friends to play that affect the speed and how far you go! its a must try activity for the winter

Great place for snow tubing! I always go during the weekdays because it’s cheaper than weekends and also there’s not many people. slopes are really long and the staff help a lot with all the tubing experience. I get there right after work and from North york it takes only about an hour. But doing the ticketing and parking getting ready etc takes about half an hour so really I’m always tubing for 1-1.5 hour😂 but it’s really enough!!! ~5 times of tubing feels like 10 times!

4.7 - forgot how much we like this hill and atmosphere. With a great start to the season, A few solid groomed runs, and several park features made this place a concrete ride. Staff are always super friendly.
NOTE: the .3 that keeps this from a perfect score is that the chalet food area does not have an option to add bacon or cheese for the hot diggitty dogs. Even the hot dogs need some groomed cheese with some crispy bacon on the buns 🤣.

Good place to go for tubing and beginner level ski/snowboard.
Online booking is required to go tubing.
They have a 2 hour limit for weekends. It can get a bit crowded and on average 10-15 mins line before you can slide. Plenty of lanes to choose from and they even have a wide lane for 5-6 pax together. There’s also a tubing area for smaller kids.
Chalet is reasonably priced. Place is clean and plenty of parking.

Impressed with the efficiency of the tubing setup and the friendliness of the staff. I went during March Break, which was $39 a person. Little bit more than I would have liked to pay since there were fewer runs open due to either the weather or felt more like not enough staff. It averaged about 10 minutes per run, so I got plenty of tubing done in my 2 hour window. I'll likely be back.

Hockley Valley Resort is a high-end hotel that offers luxurious amenities such as a spa, two pools, and refined dining options. While it is well-known for its winter sports activities, it also provides unique summer activities like tree-top trekking at an extra cost. The resort boasts its own golf course and is located just an hour away from Toronto. Guests can experience pure tranquility in the 8,000 square foot European-inspired spa with various treatment options to choose from.
I’ve got lots of good things to say about Hockley Valley. We went there just to spend the day skiing and we had lunch at their bar. The food was so good, specially the charred leek and potato soup. It was such a comfort meal to eat after all the cold outside. The burger was stunning too. Their desserts are good and with a lovely presentation. The staff was super nice to us. Also, the hotel has lots of accessibility access points with ramps and handles all over which was so nice to see. Overall a great visit, we look forward to come back again!

Spent a night at Hockley Valley celebrating our anniversary, a lovely get away. Arrived in the afternoon with enough time for a swim before dinner. The room was bright, clean, and spacious, with a beautiful view. The bed was quite cozy thankfully. The resort was quite busy with two weddings and lots of golfers but thankful the evening was quite.
We had the most amazing dinner at the Cabin's out door garden domes, absolutely delicious, a unique Dinning experience.
We indulged in a spa service each before we left, I had a body exfoliation treatment and my husband had the head, hand and foot massage. Wonderful experience, wish we could have stayed longer.

The rooms could really use a good deep cleaning (you'll see what I mean if you check behind any of the beds- the dust is thick!) and an update (the hallway/stairwell carpets are very worn with lots of stains). Although we did have one of the nicest views from a corner room overlooking the firepits and ski hills.
My daughters both had a private lesson (one snowboarding and one skiing) and I would just like to say what a great skiing instructor Peter was with my 9 year old; she loved him- after one hour she could turn, stop and was going down the bigger runs.
My 12 year old had Lucas for snowboarding and it seemed to be going well until he asked her to go down the run backwards putting weight on her toes. He went behind her talking to her so when she looked behind to hear him she fell hard on her wrist and ended up having to have a sling, ending our day early- now waiting on x-rays to see if its broken (speaking to them from behind should maybe be reviewed so no one else gets hurt).
Also, more staff and/or better organization in the Lesson/Rental/Lift ticket building would make for a better Guest experience- at 9am there was a line out the door to sign up for lessons, get rentals and lift tickets as there was only 1 employee (separate lines would be faster as some people are not getting rentals or lessons). There were Rental Agreement sheets on the ledge to be filled out before you got to the desk for faster service, but there was 1 pen for about 30 people filling out the forms.
Zoo To You was a big hit with both kids- great idea!
Tristan also needs a shout out in the 85 restaurant- he was awesome! As well as the male bartender in 85 that worked Tuesday night (didn't catch his name)- tall, with short dark hair (his Pumpkin Spice Martinis were out of this world).
A few tweaks and upgrades would make this resort 5 stars.

The service at Hockley is amazing, as is the golfing! The rooms left a lot to be desired. We had the bridal suite booked for our two night stay. The space was very limited. The furniture was rather worn. The mirror lights didn't work. When taking a shower in the large shower, I ended up standing in a couple of inches of water as the water wasn't draining properly. For a bridal suite, the lighting was awful. The only full-length mirror was up the stairs with the bed. The mirrors above the bathroom sinks were tiny, and the lights were dark and dingy. Wallpaper was peeling off. The drinks at the bar were quite pricey, and many of our guests complained that they didn't seem to have the correct amount of alcohol. The table that our guests were sat at was sticky, and no matter how many times it was wiped, it did not improve. I imagine the cause was humidity but certainly an oversight. Serveral of our guests complained their air conditioner wasn't working. Others had problems with the plumbing. One of our guests was checked out by someone else, and their card charged. We booked at Hockley Resort because we were getting married at Adamo Winery. Again the staff was amazing but the facilities needed a lot of work.

Went for a conference. Nice hotel room with balcony. 1 outdoor pool and 1 indoor pool with hot tub and sauna. Cute little area where you can eat in a bubble tent of some sort (costs more). There is one small bar. Not very much to do at hotel though. You can't walk the bike trails which is unfortunate because the area looks like. Not walkable to anything but there is a beautiful winery near by. Pool opens kind of late in the morning. On site restaurant has really good food. Spa was really great. Would recommend if you're looking to golf or relax.

I can’t say enough good things about the staff. The facilities are decent, maybe a little dated in places but tidy and clean. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The staff are the true difference, though. Every member we met was friendly and professional at a minimum, and most were truly excellent. All of our needs were met quickly and with enthusiasm. If you are eating at the resort, ask if Seb is working; you will be impressed. The team behind the scenes are great as well, as evidenced by the incredible meals we enjoyed. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

Staff and facility are absolutely fantastic. Tried ordering food after 11:30 PM and I was recommended to use the vending machine at the end of the hall. No disrespect to the rep I spoke to, but it was the only solution that the hotel offered. They recommended calling Pizza Pizza as they always deliver to the hotel before 1:00 AM. After placing an order and waiting for an hour to get a call that they can’t deliver here, it was disappointing. For a top notch resort to have ZERO food options after 11:30 PM for there guests, it is extremely disheartening… Staff are absolutely fantastic and honest. Just sad that I can’t eat after 11:30PM .. Maybe offer room service? Food for thought. Facility, golf course, and staff were 5 stars though.
Would come back again, but I would bring snacks for my room..

My husband and I spent one night at Hockley Valley Resort to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived before noon and the friendly front desk staff found us a room that was ready for occupancy. We enjoyed sitting by and swimming in the outdoor pool. The buffet breakfast the next day was fine, although if you can't eat dairy, your choices are somewhat limited. We each had a wonderful massage the next morning given by Josee. She is an excellent registered massage therapist. We had an enjoyable time.

My first time playing golf here with an early morning tee time but sprinklers were still on throughout the whole course. For 113$ for a round, I would expect to not be shooting onto greens and through fairways with water spraying everywhere and soaking us. Even happened on the tee box a few times while lining up to shoot. All was quiet and then multiple sprinklers coming out of the blue spraying all of us in the group. And to top it all off then having to drive down the cart path getting sprayed. Why were the sprinklers on?
Not something I would expect when paying a price like this for a round.

At the “resort” for a conference this weekend. Very disappointed in the experience of this resort.
My hotel room had no air conditioning. I asked them repeatedly to fix it and they said they did but every time I went to my room it was hotter than before. The only thing the air conditioner in the room did was work as a fan. Picture shows AC set to 64 (in hopes it would cool) and the room at 74. By the time I left the room it was up to 76. It never got cooler.
They never offered another solution. They never offered to change rooms or do anything to make my stay comfortable.
I travel a lot around the world and it is not worth the money they are charging here. The rooms are outdated and like I said the air conditioner didn’t work. The fridge in the room also didn’t work.
We had a dinner in the tent on the Saturday night. Food was fine but service sucked. There was no one around to refill water or take drink orders. There was also no lighting in the tent so it got dark as the sun started to set over dinner. I have no issue going to the bar to get a drink but I expect water to be accessible and there wasn’t even pitchers on the table for self service. Same for the conference. We had to consistently remind them to refill hot water at the station and refill pitchers at the tables.
The manager when I complained tried to tell me that as I was here for a conference they were not able to do anything to to help which I find unacceptable as me booking my room and paying for it was done separately from the conference. I am their direct customer. After much back and forth they offered 10% which I took but due to how much of a fight it was to get even that it does not feel acceptable.
Overall I do not recommend this place
I had a good weekend with my conference people but will never return here and know there are TONS of significantly better places you can attend.

I recently had a fantastic stay at Hockley Valley Resort, and I can't say enough good things about my experience. The spa staff were truly exceptional, providing top-notch service and making my relaxation a priority.
The rooms were not only clean but also offered pretty views from the balcony, which added to the overall charm of the resort.
The breakfast and dinner buffet spreads were consistently impressive. It was evident that the staff ensured that everything was well replenished, and the food was not only delicious but of excellent quality. The variety of options made every meal a delightful experience.
The resort's grounds were a highlight for me. They were so beautifully maintained, making it the perfect setting for a summer hike. Nature lovers will truly appreciate the serenity and beauty of the surrounding area.
Overall, Hockley Valley is a place where relaxation, great food, and natural beauty come together seamlessly. I can't wait to return for another memorable getaway.

Our very large family attended the Thanksgiving Brunch, what an incredible experience. Our brother is in a very large wheelchair, the manager went over and above to make us comfortable in a private dining area with a fireplace and incredible view. The food was perfect, great selection, lots and lots of food to accommodate all dietary needs. The girls ended their evening by staying overnight and treating themselves to the spa. The pedicure is out of this world. Everyone enjoyed they’re spa selections. Will definitely return and recommend to everyone. Special thank you to the supervising manager who made my brother and our family feel so special.

Hockley is a wonderful destination - HOWEVER - when you book be sure to ask if a wedding or party is happening. If you are in a room near the conference rooms it's impossible to sleep and the room feels like it's vibrating. Also breakfast the next morning is hard to enjoy with wedding guests who take over. If you're going for rest and relaxation this is a big deterrent. Otherwise the rooms are great (some are more updated than others), the lobby bar and restaurant are great and the nearby hiking is great. The ski is good for beginners - half day max. Call them before you book to ensure you're not going during a wedding or large party conference.

Great ski resort. You will experience great customer service as staff here are very nice.
Their lineups for lift have not been very long so you can get a lot of runs during your visit here.
There are a few variety of hills. They do have some nice steep hills.
I definitely recommend visit here. Prices are also great.

Five of us visited last week. We booked the Girl Friends special. It was good value.
The special included room and breakfast for one night plus dinner and buffet breakfast.
Also a spa credit of $ 100
The dinner in Cabin was of gourmet quality with very good service from Marek , our waiter.
Three of us stayed an extra night. Our room was very comfortable , clean and had a nice view from a small balcony.
The room our other two friends stayed in was outdated and really unacceptable. The carpet had a long tear and a vinyl chair was in equally bad shape.
We loved the spa. Friendly staff and a beautiful environment.
My massage was by Mary. Probably the best massage of my life.
My four friends had equally great spa treatments.
Although we booked our visit back in August, the front desk staff seemed very disorganized.
I believe there has been a big staff turnover recently but better training needs to be in place.
The pools and hot tub were appreciated.
The housekeeping and wait staff were very helpful and efficient.
Breakfast buffet was good and open until 11 am . Good coffee too. So, top marks for the friendly manager there.
So, all in all, a great experience. The only negatives were the shabby room & the inexperienced front desk.
.
Another small thing is that there were no hiking trails without going off site.
Top marks for Cabin. Great included dinner. Great server Marek.
The bar staff who served us outside on the lovely pool patio were friendly and efficient. Great drinks too.

Spa services was the best part! Amazing service from the front desk to extra help from in-hotel restaurants and spa.
But no where worth the price for the rooms. So expensive for little motel-like space (I would say motel rooms are much larger and more likeable).
I would give it this a 2.5 out of 10.
Loved the pool too!

Enjoyed our stay here this past weekend.
Early check in, pool was small but fun with a nice sized hot tub and dry sauna we got to enjoy.
The rooms were comfy, spacious, lots of space to unpack, with delicious nespresso served 😋
The grounds are nice so we used our balcony to watch golfers and birds.
Breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful. The omlette bar was a win in my books. Quick, efficient and perfectly cooked.
My husband and daughter also enjoyed the space, food and service.
We will be back 🥰

We went for dinner to one of the globes they have outside, named Fruit and Fire. The food was prepared like a tapa style, around 10 different dishes. All were delicious! Amazing service by both Brody our server and the chef who personally delivered our wild berries, sorbet and little brownies for dessert. The experience was over the top! This is only for the summer and ends next week. We will definitely be back next year for this but also we are going to dine in the resort in the future.

I had to stay at Hockley Valley Resort last minute for work and was so impressed with my stay. All the staff were so personable and professional. I enjoyed the comfortable, high quality pillows in my room and slept well. The inclusive breakfast was amazing. Excited to return for work and hopefully be able to book in some spa services next time.

My wife and I had dinner in the globe, meal was fantastic! Compliments to the Chef and shout out to servers Michael and Erica. We spent the night, the room was clean and the view was beautiful. Friendly staff and it was nice to see so many families enjoying the skiing. Racquel, the server in Bamboo was very sociable and took the time to engage in conversation. Having breakfast included was a bonus too. We enjoyed getting away and know this is a great place to visit regardless of season. Hope to return soon!

Came skiing for a day, not overnight, several times. Great medium size valley ski resort. Runs are less beginner and more for intermediate and those looking for some challenge. Relatively cheap ski ticket prices. Two issues with this place, one is fixable hence one less star. The ski times can only be 9 - 1pm or 1 - 5pm which creates parking frustration around 1pm and long ticket lineups at 9:30 and 1:30. They could stagger 4 hr ski times starting each hour and have the lift ticket machine print the time on tags, for a much better customer experience and flexibility. Second issue is be prepared to walk through the parking lot then walk an extra 100m around the back of the resort- tiring and hard on the ski boots. Just enough parking. Skiing cafeteria and washrooms are decent and convenient. Lovely outdoor fire pit deck area for non-skiers. Didn’t rent equipment.

Went for a 1 night conference. Conference venue and food was good and plentiful. Check in was a bit frustrating. Checked in at noon (when arrived at conference) and was told they would call when the room was ready. Many attendees checked in after me and got rooms first. Finally after 415pm went back to desk to find out my room was ready. Room was huge and clean. Furniture could use updating. Thought there was no stopper for soaker bath only to find it under the sink just before leaving. Not a fan of the squeezable wall mounted beauty products (hope the bottles are cleaned between guests!). Shower wouldn't stay on and kept reverting to the bath faucet which was annoying. Scenery was beautiful. I would stay again.

It is a beautiful resort with a very nice golf course, bike trails, ski hill and more. It is in a beautiful scenic location. The hotel is nice and clean and well maintained. Unfortunately they ran 2 weddings at the same time which does ruin the experience when you hear the other wedding and you are trying to enjoy the wedding you are at. They should stagger the weddings if multiple per day are happening. Some things for the wedding could have been setup better and on time. Overall the staff was still very helpful to finish getting things setup. The price to stay per night is quite steep for the room that you get. Overall great experience though. If the hotel wasn't so expensive I would come back again.

The room was spacious, well-appointed & had a beautiful view of the ski hills. Staff were friendly and helpful. I appreciated having a mini-fridge in our room.
Really fantastic experience and technology. The kids enjoyed climbing on the old railcar (which is just to the west of the newer railcar). There is a large park around the railway and the Big Chute falls and hydroelectric power station are all collectively interesting.

Amazing historical place and very cool but the wheelchair accessibility is horrible and I couldn't not really see anything and very dangerous to park and then have to go on busy road just to get to the visitor center. Being off season I made it without incident, probably much more dangerous in season. This could easily be fixed and hope it gets the attention it needs to be a destination for all regardless of ability or age. 5 stars if it was accessible.

A great spot with some interesting history. Very neat system that lifts boats up out of the water, over the road then back into a different lake. Worth the trip!

We love this place for fishing but only when its not busy with boats passing by..We went here 2 consecutive weeks. We also love just watching how the lock operates. There are good areas for picnic and hanging out. The ice cream store is a good plus on a warm day.

A must see if you are interested in engineering, mechanics, or just like a spectacle. We had a group of seven, and everyone thought it was something you should see. If you are elderly or have young children, you should exercise caution. There are open holes in the sidewalk and road with moving cables.
Charlie Montgomery — Google review
A must see if you are in the area. It's the only "lock" on the Trent-Severn waterway where the boats are taken out of the water on a special railway type vehicle.
There's very little in the immediate area except for the locks, parking lots, and bathrooms.
If you are coming on a motorcycle, the roads to get there and leave a very curvy and a lot of fun to ride!
Vic K — Google review
This amazing mechanical marvel is well worth a stop. We were lucky to see it in action as 2 boats came through while we were there. It was built instead of locks to keep lamprey eels from migrating from the Great Lakes.

We visited on a Monday in August, so lots of parking. I cannot walk far,and this tourist attraction is very do-able. You can choose to go down the stairs to the waterfront, but you can easily watch the boats loading and unloading from the road. Very interesting. No public washrooms, that we saw.

Fascinating to watch boats get loaded on the only marine railway in North America and carried across the road and lowered downstream. Worth the stop.

Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is a vast, forested region that offers numerous hiking opportunities with stunning vistas. The park is located on the Niagara Escarpment, which boasts rich geological formations for exploration. Visitors can indulge in various activities such as spelunking and rock climbing before cooling off at McCarstons Lake. With its lush greenery and tranquil environment, the park provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Absolutely beautiful place to hike in the heart of nature on the Niagara Escarpment and its magnificent rocky terrain.
You can hike around the park, passing through the famous "Jacob's Ladder" and the lookout deck, on a route of about 4 to 5 KM. It's easier if you go counter-clockwise, but if you take the route clockwise expect to go through a decent climb on wooden stairs and rocky trail, although nothing too difficult, just take it slowly and enjoy the scenery, it's so beautiful there you will forget the effort you are putting!
Most of the trail is well shadowed by lots of trees and is very pleasant to hike, but a large section of it on the east side (the Spillway trail / purple route in the map) is mostly shrubs and so very sunny.
There is a restroom along the trail but it's very basic (your "business" goes into a hole in the ground and no sink to wash your hands) so take toilet paper and sanitizer and you will be fine.

I read about the hikes at Mono Cliffs provincial park and had been waiting to check them out. Mono Cliffs in not on my list of the top ten parks in Ontario but it has some very distinct features and a lot of well maintained trails which I would rank as moderate.
You get about 825 meters of elevation heading to the lookout. I would think in summer it must be stunning but with this late spring, not one tree was really budding. As a provincial park, day use permits are required and were being enforced.
It was a very peaceful walk and Billy the dog really enjoyed his day. I say it is worth the drive from Toronto. In summer, I read it is best to book ahead and arrive early morning or early in the evening to avoid crowds. Make sure to reserve your parking online. I hope you get to check it out.
There are washrooms facilities. Some trails are open to horse and rider

First time coming here! It’s a popular place for hikes especially, Fall Hikes! It has amazing fall colours! Easy trails! My kiddo loved it!
She’s getting used to going for hikes now and we will keep it going as the outdoors is the best place for kids!
We did two trails and went home as we got their in the afternoon. We are lucky we have trails like this! Teach our kids to love nature!
Getting the most out of this season. 🍂

A nice place to be with nature but not worth the hype nor the parking fee. The signature sight, the cliffs, can only be seen up close on a detour along a very short flight of stairs (less than 5 minutes in length), which lead to a very small platform at a dead-end that everyone seemed to want to squeeze into. There is a lookout point at the top of the hill towards the surrounding area, but I’d argue that the views are more expansive and varied at other conservation areas in Halton. There are a few hiking route options; we took a longer loop that was part-grassy, part-forest, and it was under 3 hours and overall not very interesting with poorly marked trails. The park itself is nice but lower your expectations if you’ve seen those impressive cliffs photos online.

Spring hike at the end of March was wonderful. The ground was still frozen and not yet muddy. The Carriage Trail to Cliffside Trail to Lookout Point and back in a big circle took about 90min. Fairly easy hiking terrain. Automated Parking was $7.50 for 8am-12, or 12-4pm

If you are a hiker you will love this place. It has various hiking trails and the difficulty level is from easy to medium. If you are a nature person then this is a perfect spot to go for a hike alone or with some friends and family. Also, if you own a horse you could horse riding at this place. Please make sure to make a reservation for a day in advance because if you show up at this place it might be full or you might have to drive a few kilometres out to get cellphone reception and do the reservation. As the reservation for parking is compulsory. The good thing is it has a big parking space.
Apart from hiking trails, it has old rustic wooden strains that led toward big black rocks/caves that are must-see at this place. Also, a perfect subject to get some great pictures if you are into photography. Lastly, it has a great viewing deck to enjoy a good view when you reach the top of the park.

A great place for a nice easy hike! The paths are wide and it's certainly suitable for kids, and there is a spot for a nice lookout! This park is fantastic for winter hiking, but make sure to note the topography for the trails! "Cliffs" really does mean serious inclines and declines, although many trails have stairs. There are also very nice sections that would be easy for all ability levels.
The automated gate makes getting into the park very streamlined, just remember to book and pay in advance.

July 2021 - great place to go on hikes, many different trails to take. At this point of summer you had to make a reservation for a car, but luckily there was no fee. Recommend the Walter Tovell trail, the Cliff-Top Side trail to get to the stairs and lookout platforms, and the Lookout Trail.

I love the diversity of this park. It feels like each trail had its own ecosystem. You will see a lot of domestic and wild animals throughout the park. There are some water features that atmosphere is not able to be captured on photos. You have to experience it person. The cliff area is the busiest so id advice exploring the other trails if you are looking for a quite hike. There are mild inclines on some of the trail and some with stairs. The lookout is awesome. Overall great area to hike.

It’s a beautiful place not too far away from Toronto. I went for a hike during the month of April and it still had snow and ice along the way. The hike was moderate difficulty and a lot people came with their dogs too. I would recommend hiking here during summer as it might get a little slippery pre or post summer. Can’t wait to visit the park again, this time in better weather.

The trail is quite well maintained. The cliff itself is a little disappointing to me. But we just got to the main view platform and didn't take the trail along the main cliffs. So I might be judging on a very limited view.

Highly recommend for a day out, we did a circuit in about 3 hours, though you can make it last about 5 if you cover multiple trails. Well maintained, the paths are diverse and scenic. There's plenty of flora and birds to spot on the trails. Just be sure to book a parking spot online before arriving

This was a lovely place to hike! The park ranger was very helpful and knowledgeable of the trails - he helped us choose a lovely route that avoided some of the trickier areas (January ice, snow, etc). The trails were well-maintained and very well-marked. Be sure to book your parking reservation in advance, as you will need to scan your pass to get into the electric gate. The cell reception is not reliable, so definitely take a pic of the map and emergency number on your way into the park! We did this loop that was about 9.5 km: Carriage > Lookout > McCarston's Lake > Clifftop > Walter Tovell > Spillway > Carriage (to parking).
Eve Smeltzer — Google review
A very easy hiking location with mostly wide, flat trails with loops either in the valley or along the ridges. Hikers can shorten/lengthen their route as they go with the variety of loops to choose from. Vault toilets are located on site which can be quite cold in the winter months. Parking is great except for the behaviour of your fellow hiker who has not created a reservation in advance and blocks the gate with their car as they go online to create the reservation. This is exceptionally annoying.

Good place to go for trails. There are different options to choose once you are at location. I came in the winter time, I am sure it will be a pretty sight in summer and fall.
Urvashikumari “Uma” Patel — Google review
This is one of the places to view fall colors in their full glory and about an hour's drive from Brampton. The trail to the view point is about 2.5 kms one way and has relatively low incline. It is necessary to book a slot for the vehicle before going during the fall season, since they turn back any cars without an appointment. Also, the parking lot is smaller than it's contemporary Ontario parks.
The view point has a barricaded balcony post that throws open a panoramic view of the valley below and the fall colors.
There is a really scenic pair of wooden steps before reaching the view point that go down in between a pair of rock formations. Pro advice- Visit here before sunset to get good light for the photos.
All in all, it's a good outing for families or friends during a weekend, but it is not as much as all the hype so don't have vast expectations, but enjoy it for what it offers.

This is an amazing park for hiking and we are privileged to also use the trails for horseback riding.
The trails are stunning with woodland, striking cliffs, ponds, off trail adventures and a breathtaking view from a cliff outcrop. Magnificent!!
The park is large which reduces congestion.
The parking lot is a good size for both vehicles and horse trailers. The entrance gate can be challenging at times, but an attendant will come to your aid.
You could easily spend the entire day here.

provincial park with many trails. I went for the main Bruce trail but ended up also doing several side trails. Some trails allow bike and horse riding. It is quite hilly but that's how you get the spectacular views. There are several options for roadside parking around the park and also a main parking lot that requires paid reservations. Dogs are allowed on leash. I would warn those allergic to bees/wasps to avoid the fall as there are many fallen apples in the southern section and there lots of wasps.

We had a good walk in a beautiful, orderly and clean environment, which faithfully preserves the marsh world with its living creatures for us and future generations, and not only preserves it, but also presents it to us, the visitors. The Park employees were very kind and knowledgeable. It was also a great experience there that the little Chickadees ate sunflower seeds from my hands. I highly recommend to visit this place especially families with little kids to give them a lifelong and wonderful experience and teach them to love nature.

Had a very enjoyable visit to Wye Marsh during a week day. Was not busy at all and lots of parking. Check in at the visitor center and paid $12 for adult admission. The trails are easy, fairly short, and well marked with plenty of things to see along the way. Washrooms inside the visitor center are well kept. Visitor center also has plenty of tourist things to buy and a machine to buy drinks from.

Wonderful place! A bit pricey.
What it is: It took us 1.5 hours to cover the trails with small children. They have rescued birds and animals that are in tanks indoors or birds of prey in cages outdoors. The indoor part is small with educational signs; they had turtles and snakes. The outdoor birds of prey section had owls (snowy, etc.), eagle, raven, etc. Along the trails, there is an enormous lookout tower that is fun to view the landscape when you get to the top. You will also find a sugar shack and a few other buildings; none are in operation. There is also an absolutely delightful Trumpeter swan area on a pond. What an experience watching them honk and flap their wings at each other! 1/3 of Ontario's Trumpeter swans are at this marsh. They are trying to help them. See my pics.
Washrooms: They are in the main building. There are none along the trail. There are no indoor places along the path to go to the washroom, breastfeed, or change a diaper.
Admission: $12+ tax for adults, children and students are $9 + tax , children 3 and under are free.
Parking: Free, and there is a decent amount of it.
Food/Snacks: There was no snack shop on site.
Gift shop: shirts, jewelry, books, stuffed animals, sticker books, mugs, kits, honey, maple syrup, etc.
Types of ground surfaces: Smooth trail paths and sometimes boardwalks. I went when the paths were covered in snow.
COVID: Some of the paths have two-way tight foot traffic, so you might want to be masked outdoors. I was told that schools take trips here masked outdoors.

The Martyrs' Shrine is a Catholic church that has been open since 1926 and is devoted to Jesuit saints. Visitors can explore the museum, gift shop, take tours and enjoy refreshments at the cafe. There is a fee to enter Christ Park, but tickets for the museum can be used as well. The atmosphere is peaceful and ideal for connecting with God. The church offers ample parking and a serene environment making it a must-visit destination in Midlands. Many groups like St.
Peaceful and nice place to be! Great place to connect with Almighty. It was so relaxing that i felt so close the god.
There is an entrance fees for the christ park, if you have visited the museum, same tickets can be used .
It has ample of parking and very calm atmosphere.
Must visit if you are in Midlands!!

Solemn place to pray and do station of the cross. In awe on how the church has been preserved in hundres years. 1.5hrs drive from Toronto country side driving in summer time, this place is 10 mins away from town centre where their harbour is a scenery that can't be missed. Thank you Martyrs for all the graces received and a safe ride for my family.

Place looks and feels very solemn.
Plenty of parking.
There is a station of the cross outside of the shrine.
Inside, it has some cool religious paintings.
Ambiance does feel very solemn.
I believe there is a $10 parking fee.

This place was very peaceful. If you are interested in exploring the history and architecture, I would recommend exploring the grounds behind the church. It's a wonderful and beautiful place to sit and relax as well.

This a pilgrimage place. A miraculous church with lots of visitors yearly. It is positioned along the highway going to the town of Midland. Great place to meditate. Can do picnic with family too. It has station of the cross statue. And parking is free. The 1church itself is beautiful and lots of history. So many greenery, it is also beautiful in autumn. So many touristic place to visit in the area. I love the countryside scenery.

We didn't get a chance to explore the entire grounds as the hubby was not feeling well, but we managed the Shrine and the Stations of the Cross Garden. This is a good experience for any Catholic, but the historical significance of the site should be an interest to anyone. We had free access with our entry to Sainte Marie Among the Hurons.

Gorgeous church. Regardless of denomination, or even the absence thereof, a must visit if in Midland/Penetanguishene or even Barrie and Orillia area. Great grounds with lots of statues representing the way a person should aspire to live. I always come out better than when I went in. Parking can cost up to ten dollars.

Amazing Church... There's a belief that if you offer 3 prayer requests, the following year you'll visit again to offer thanks for having received those prayer requests. Post COVID they are now charging visitors $10/head, preferably cash. Weekends are very busy, so if you would like to explore the place, weekdays would be ideal. 😊😊

"This Martyrs' Shrine of Huronia bears witness to the rich heritage that has been handed on to the whole Church. At the same time it is a place of pilgrimage and prayer, a monument to God's blessings in the past, an inspiration as we look to the future..." - Pope John Paul II
Martyrs' Shrine has been a holy and historic place of worship for nearly 100 years and continues a nearly 400 year story of love and discovery with St. Jean de Brébeuf and his companions. There is much to discover and explore, and on this page we can only give you a glimpse into the Shrine's rich history. Martyrs' Shrine is more than just a beautiful old building. It is a place of worship, a place to meet, a sanctuary, a haven, a celebration, a place of joy and occasionally sadness, but most of all it is alive with the people who make the Shrine what it is today.
The Martyrs’ Shrine welcomes over 100,000 visitors annually, was once home to the Canadian Martyrs and has been visited by Saint Pope John Paul II among others. The Shrine is a unique blend of early modern Indigenous-European tradition and discovery that inspired and influenced the formation of Canada as we know it today. We hope that you can join us in person and are here to help you as you learn more about the our holy site.
We visit Marty's Shrine in August every single year for over 30 years now 🙏

Mid August 2023 weekday late afternoon. Very few visitors but the ground and church are open till 9 pm. The east gate is closed while the west has a gatekeeper collecting $10 entrance fee. There is still no buffer lane on Hwy 12 to accommodate merging with busy and heavy , high speed downhill traffic. A measure pending for decades might prevent disasters from happening.

Martyr’s Shrine is popular to pilgrims during summer, a shrine dedicated to the Canadian martyrs, eight Jesuits Saints that lived, worked and died here over 350 years ago. If you’ve been here before, you’ll notice that now they charge $10 per person to get in. There’s a Portuguese pilgrimage on Sunday and the whole grounds were full, parking lots were full and some actually had tents so I assume they slept in. Once in the main worship hall, notice the painted glass windows around, the wooden walls, and you step out through the main door, you’ll see an awesome view. You could easily spend the day here, of course, devotees go through the huge and large grounds, with stations of the cross, and the altar where Pope John Paul celebrated a mass. It is a huge compound.

Sainte-Marie among the Hurons is a museum that showcases a restored 17th-century French Jesuit settlement. The reconstruction includes a chapel and forge, representing the primary structures of the mission station. Located on Wye River, about five kilometers east of Midland, it was founded in 1639 by Jesuits and served as an important center for Europeans in Wendat for ten years.
Went today for my daughters first mini golf experience. I must say my expectations were surpassed by a country mile. This course was fun and well taken care of. The ladies working behind the counter we attentive and kind. The price was reasonable. The layout was great. I can honestly say this is by far the best outdoor course I've ever played! Will return.

Very well kept up. The grounds, putting greens, decorations, etc. were all in very good condition. It all looked fresh painted.
Holes are not overly challenging, but are fun and creative. A quick but fun time. I wasn't watching the clock, but I think it was less than 45 min. to complete, even with short waits for the people ahead to clear the hole. Well worth the moderate admission.
The 18th hole has a chance to win a free game, and the couple ahead of us won one, so it is possible. Lots of fun!

Who doesn't love mini golf? Who doesn't love pirates? Who doesn't love pirate mini golf? We drove from Toronto to Wasaga for some beach time and for Skull Island. Seriously. Had some ice cream and that made for a great summer day. Any time we're in the area, we go play. Just a fun place to waste an hour. Totally recommended.

Skull Island is a masterpiece of miniature golf-themed design. Any child that walks up to the front gates of this place would be elated to play here. The course is incredibly well maintained and a joy to experience. However, the only reason this review is less than perfect is just how easy the course was to play as an adult-only group. If the course design is 5/5 stars, the challenge rating is 1/5. But take that with a grain of salt, this place is made for kids. Just know that if you’re travelling here with a significant other, you will be in and out in 15 minutes if no one is ahead of you. I would have liked more themed obstacles on the course itself rather than just course decorations. Otherwise, Skull Island was a solid experience!

The Beach Area 1 of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is a natural area that spans over 6.8 hectares, protecting the habitat of wildlife and endangered birds such as the Piping Plover. This beach features a 14-km stretch of clean sandy shore, earning it the blue-flag status for its cleanliness. Visitors can enjoy walking trails amidst the scenic beauty and explore nearby camping options at Awenda and Craigleith as camping is not allowed within the park grounds.
Very Beautiful place. Even if all areas are close ,this area is not closed during winter. Summer time allows busy. Very beautiful sunset. Clean water . Wasaga Beach is really big.

Best beach ever! Soft sand, shallow warm water and beautiful views. What more can I ask for? Parking space is ample and convenient, there different food and beach supplies shops around and during summer months, there's always some festival going on. Make sure you come in early on the weekend to get a closer spot to the water.
Pooya Shirazi — Google review
The awe & beauty of the park is unchanged with the roaring of the waves & protected sand dunes but sadly, the traffic, abundance of water sports & masses of tourists are somewhat of a draw back. Be prepared for lengthy line ups, crowded beaches & excessive noise. Limited amenities and park fees applicable. Preference for more rustic rather than commercialized provincial park.

A must visit place for any season of the year. Always gets busier during summer season.
Kids love the water and playing hours at the beach. Sand is slow smooth and cars get dirtier for each trip. Food across the restaurants is really good, offering wide variety of cuisine.
Purchase a day use parking or preferred time parking for the parking areas across the region. There are private parking lots as well. Plan the trips in advance to avoid rush.
Off season pricing is cheaper, but windchill is at peaks before the summer.
Blue mountains is also within close proximity and a great destination for any season.

Very nice clean beach. It has washrooms, so many car parks but it is always packed with vehicles and people. Clean water, shallow beach and sandy. Windy days it can get really rough but still can enjoy because it is shallow for some meters inside. Big beach and middle part where the main entrance is the happening place and either sides are for more family type beach. There are benches (picnic tables) and shades (structures with roofs). Nudity not allowed. No dogs allowed. You need to pay $22 for the vehicle pass. Right now Mondays to Thursdays it is free parking. After 4pm most people who came early will leave and you should be able find a spot to park and in the beach. Enjoy!!!

Wonderful freshwater sand beach. Best midweek to avoid crowds. 6 public beach areas under the banner of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Town, accommodations, dining, shopping and its people is an eclectic mix of the old and the new. Continually changing by the season and the occasion. If one is particular about any one of these things best to invest some time understanding whereabout you are headed. Something there for everyone. Bottom line is you should expect that you will have a good time!

Wasaga Beach stands out as one of the best places I have visited thus far. Wasaga Beach is an exceptional destination that left a lasting impression on me. The expansive shoreline, soft sand, and clear waters create a picturesque setting. The overall atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming. Additionally, the local amenities and friendly community enhance the overall experience. It's undeniably a must-visit destination for beach enthusiasts and those looking for a memorable getaway.

Wasaga beach is gorgeous though it can be very crowded at times. We went there after 4 PM, so we were able to get a parking spot very near to the beach. The parking charges are not very high, although getting a spot can be tricky. The beach is beautiful, and the water is warmer than Lake Ontario. The water depth for a few meters is not very deep, So it was safe to send the kids alone in the water (while keeping an eye on them). The views are vast, and you can also see the blue mountains. The trail crosses the beach, and it’s beautiful. There are so many picnic spots and table picnic tables there. If you walk a little bit farther away from the main parking area, as you will see, there are so many picnic benches and tables under the trees. The sand is soft. You’re also going to find lots of seashells. There are some beautiful logs along the beach where you can sit, can create some kind of privacy with them or just enjoy the view from there. The more deeper you go, the stronger the waves get.

A site with a historical past and its own geographic history.
Nice beach with chattering seagulls.
They say it's also a good place to watch the sunset.
We had afternoon tea at a terrace restaurant with a view of the lake.
The closer you get to the beach, the more expensive the parking lot is. The parking lot by the beach was 25 dollars when you entered and 20 dollars when you came out. And, no matter how long you park, the price is the same. I'm not sure about the price of the public parking lot, but it's 15 dollars a day just a block away.

Grungy green slime all along the after edge. (See my photos and videos)
And then lumps of brown sludge that stinks.
(Photos show this too)
Not sure what happened to the water up here but it’s pretty foul smelling not sure if it’s safe.
Parking is a whooping $21 a day no matter how long you’re staying.
The guards at the gate will run you down to get it.
Also new is these parks guys on atv’s (all terrain vehicles) driving up and down the beach all day. Super noisy and annoying.
Not as nice as it used to be.
*** Also lots of rocks 🪨 🪨 🪨 in the water watch your toes!
And parking lot is sand - not good for elderly or people with balance issues.
Overall this beach is degrading. Going to check out Wasaga beach 1, 2,3,4,5 next time if we even go back to the area.
If you have other recommendations I would love to hear it!

Full of tourists from all parts of the world.
This beach is different from other beaches around Toronto area.
There are bars opposite the beach, my favorite is the beach bar.
Parking could be difficult on very busy days but paid parking is available.
There are alot of resort around the beach for those looking to stay.
Many visitors are able to swim in this beach.
Some nearby local shops sell beach items and clothing.
The beach has different areas for different purposes including sports zone, and pets zone.
Don't be discouraged with the long drive from town to this place. You'll definitely love it here.

It's a nice beach for a day out. We visited with a group for friends and enjoyed a lot. It has shallow water for really long stretch. So it gives a pool type feeling and really good for bath and playing in the water during summer.
Beach is also very long. It's on Huron and west facing so we can see great sunsets if we can stay really late or stay in wasaga itself for the night.
Only cons is it's too crowded. If you like people you will enjoy this beach. If you want to spent some we time or alsone time , there are better options for that.
This is the closest beach from GTA where people can really enjoy beach time during summer. For anybody and everybody.

Wasaga Beach brings back amazing memories from my childhood. My family and I use to visit this beach each summer. We rented a near by cottage and spent days relaxing and having fun on the beach. I must share that returning to the beach as an adult recently really was nostalgic. I was amazed to see how well kept the beach was. No garbage in site, in fact the garbage truck was rolling by to collect the garbage from the bins. The water was clear just as I remembered it and the view of Blue Mountain in the horizon still stunning and gave me that island vibe.
Brewery that expands several buildings. I am not a beer drinker but it is Cool to see the large metal tanks/copper kettle. It’s huge!
There’s a bar inside and some seating. There’s a gift shop with some interesting items. Various items to chose from.
From the outside of the building there are large windows that you can see inside. I’m sure they have beer tastings too that you can look at on their website if your into that kind of thing.
The chandelier made of beer bottles is a nice touch.

The establishment itself is awesome. You must do the tour to the Brewery if available. Their beers selections are out of this world... one better than the other one, which makes it difficult to just select one type of beer.
The town itself is awesome. Better when festivals.

Awenda Provincial Park is a serene and sprawling forested area that stretches across over 2900 hectares along the eastern coast of Georgian Bay in Ontario. The park offers a variety of recreational activities such as camping, hiking, biking and bird-watching. It boasts of several multi-use trails which are perfect for exploring the local flora and fauna. Visitors can also bask in the beauty of its many beaches that line its shores.
Beautiful park with nice campsites. Facilities are good for a campground and kept clean. Lots of trails in the park to walk. Nice beaches in the Georgian Bay on Lake Huron. Some rocky and some sandy. Water is nice. The park is very big so most park employees recommend driving everywhere but I walked everywhere to soak up all the nature. There is bears in the area so keep your food in your vehicle overnight, I didn't see one personally but when I asked a park employee they said they do come around. Mostly raccoons will be the first at your campsite but good camping etiquette is putting away food at night anyway and garbage. The campsites in the Bear Campground have a good canopy of trees almost no sun, all campgrounds have washrooms, water and showers. Mine also had laundry. Overall 5 stars for me. Beautiful area.

Good low intensity trails. Not many people over the weekend in march. Can access the beaches and kettle lake via car or hike there from the main visitor building.
There was no gate to enter the park as of march 2024 so you just kind of drive in. Good amount of parking spots.
However, you technically have to pay to enter/park. I booked parking using the ontario parks pass, normally it would cost around $10-15 for 4 hour increments for the day.

A lovey place with a few nice hikes. One around Kettle’s Lake an the other next to the beach. Loved the mix of Algonquin style forest hike and the rocky beach jumping from stone to stone in a single place. The beach is also dog friendly and many adore that place. While walking the trails o enjoyed a very relaxing vibe with strangers passing by and greeting kindly. These were great Thanksgivings moments.
Don’t forget to pay the entrance fee or get the fine. Stay safe.

This is a truly magical provincial park. A disconnect from modern day.
The non-electrical sites in Hawk are large and there is a significant distance from the neighboring site. They are still visible, but they are not on top of one another.
This park is a driving park. Anywhere you want to go you will need to drive or bike. A path does connect all the different areas but at significant distance.
Cell service was spotty at best, staff were helpful and pleasant when asking questions.
The beaches were beautiful. Worth the time to check out!

A beautiful park all together, good beaches ( be prepared for very long walks from parking lot to the beach a wheel cart of some sort is strongly recommended if you are planning to barbecue and have heavy gear) , from the wood and ice center we were able to rent (40$+500$ deposit) and go canoeing on kettle lake , they have two time slots one at 9:30 and the second one at 2:30 , the lake is beautiful but very small for canoeing really not much to paddle but lots of folks were fishing so I would highly recommend that and then getting them to the beach for lunch if you catch any! Next time will try the treks as the roads were beautiful

We visited Awenda for the first time- it’s quite nice in the winter, but trails and roads are not maintained so be aware that there are a lot icy surfaces. We didn’t ski, but that seems to be a popular activity. We wanted to walk to the beach but stopped halfway when the road leading down to the beach was covered in ice. Ice crampons may help! We’ll definitely return to explore more.. and especially in the summer!

Stayed at Awenda Provincial Park for 5 nights just this past week. First time at this park & we were impressed, to say the least! Reminded us of Arrowhead, where some of the sites are very private and some are a little more open but all in all good sites. Our site in the Wolf campground was awesome! We felt as if we were all alone...minus hearing kids at other sites playing lol! It rained a couple of days and our site had no puddles or pooling of water. If you are camping end of August or fall watch out for the acorns! They do fall often from the trees, no one got hurt but we did get startled a few time at night. The park is bigger than what it seemed, lots of trails that are multi-use (bike/hike) which we love. You have to drive to the beach, no doubt about it, but there is plenty of parking (labelled areas). Be sure to bring your water shoes, beach 1 & 2 were rocky with pebbles. Unsure about beach 3 & 4 since we had our dogs couldn't t go beyond beach 2. Beach 2 is the dog beach where it is leashed but many dogs were off leash. Even when you do park to go to the beach there is still a bit of a walk to beach 3 & 4. You can also canoe or kayak in Kettle, rentals are available. Unlike Presqu'ile Provincial Park, Awenda has plenty of comfort stations between the different campgrounds and plenty of water taps and outhouses. Park is close to Penetanguishene & Midland, so easy to grab necessities if you forget any. We are definitely planning to go back for our 2024 season, it is a beautiful park on Georgian Bay and definitely on our top 3 of Provincial parks.

This is an awesome park both for one day trip and for longer-term camping. There are 4 beaches, and those are very clean and picturesque. Trails are easy and beautiful. There is no reception in the park, neither on the beach, nor at the campsite, so be prepared and download maps you might need in advance. If you have kids, there is programming available. I strongly recommend meeting their naturalist Tim, who is very good at kids and very knowledgeable. Night sky is also something! Two notes to be prepared: 1) If you are very sensitive about the smell and cleanliness of a toilet, this park should not be your first choice. 2) Canoe rental needs $500 deposit.

It is less busy than other beach. It has four beach. You bring your own camp, barbecue and kayak and enjoy your time. The parking fee is $18 per day but their is no good washroom and you need to bring your own food and drinks. It’s beautiful place and they have locked chairs and trail. You can enjoy a romantic date and family time

You MUST visit beach 4, by far the best view for the sunset. Keep in mind that you have to bike or hike there so it will be dark on the way back to your vehicles. Flashlights recommended. Biking to the beach from the campsites is only for those who are daring enough to ride back uphill the entire way.
Kettles lake is nice, easy trail around the lake( great for younger kids if they are able to hike that distance, nothing really challenging about the trail) showers and washrooms are clean, staff are helpful.

Beach is small but the water is clear and good to swim. The trail around Kettle's Lake is one of the best in Ontario parks- about an hour long easy trail.

One word beautiful. The drive to get into the parking lot for the beach is scenic. You're surrounded by trees towering over you as you drive in. On the way in, there is a parks store for your convenience. There are several parking lots, close to the beach. It is a little bit of a walk to get to the beach. There is a designated area for dogs to swim, and the rest of the beach is accessible for everyone. The color of the water will make you think you're no longer in Ontario, combined with the white sand. It wasn't crowded when we got there and the water was warm. Awenda has many trails that you can explore if that's something you're interested in. We checked out the Beaver Pond Trail (a quick 15-minute trail). Reservations are encouraged.

One of the best beaches near GTA. Clean water, and less crowded. There are 3-4 beaches giving plenty of space for everyone to enjoy the water. There are few hiking trails to explore and like every other park, you will need to reserve your parking spot ahead of time. There are plenty of parking spots here so you should be fine as long as you reserve your spot a couple of days in advance.

Highly recommended place in summer time! The beaches, the turquoise water, the rocks around the shore… all great to be around. Considering it’s fairly close to Toronto (about 2 hrs), you get almost a similar scenery and atmosphere as you would in Tobermory or even Lake Superior, which are obviously much further.
Winter time, this place is not as great but there are a good amount of trails to hike on. I decided to do the entire Bluff trail, which took about 3.5 hours to complete. While parts of the trail had some nice lookouts and forests, for the most part, there was not much to see and the trail was fairly easy. I was also a bit disappointed that they added some fairly pricey parking meters considering you can’t find anyone on premise. This was back in 2022, so I can’t say that it’s a common thing every year.

One of my favourite Southern parks. Whether you prefer radio free or more privacy or you like open ones. RV camps available too . Nice trails some of which is 2 hours .. Kettle lake is nearby adding more spots to see .. AND THE BEACH! is one of my favourite .. the water there is something else

Nice place for camping !
Washroom and shower places are nice and clean, and we book the closest spot, so it was perfect.
Depends on the spot, it may little difficult to go to washroom due to distance, so please check the spot before you make a reservation!
Beach was nice too, it takes 10 mins to drive there, but water was clean and nice, just be careful the rock under the water.

Beautiful escape from the city. Been camping here over 30 times in the past 4 years. Private campsites, beautiful forest, amazing beaches (especially beach 4). Definitely recommend trying one of the parks activities that are planned throughout the week during camping season. Also great Winter park for skiing and snowshoeing

Beautiful park with clean picnic areas. Very clean restrooms and playgrounds for kids! Gorgeous sand dunes and beaches! Loved the beaver pond trail which is 0.7 km and easy! Also we enjoyed the beach trail and Brûlé trail as well. Be prepared there is no cellphone reception at all but who needs that! Bicycle friendly as well! All and all it was a very pleasant experience and lots of good memories! Must visit!
Plunge! Aquatic Centre is a magnificent recreational facility that offers an abundance of water activities for families and children. It features warm pools, a hot tub that exceeds 95 degrees, various slides, rope swings, and multiple swimming pools with one designated for diving. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the clean atmosphere and relaxing experience offered by the hot waters. The centre also provides amenities such as a family changing area and splash pad for small children. Overall, Plunge!
It's a great place to hang out with kids. There is a small splash pad for small kids, an outdoor water slide, a hot pool and a deep pool. You can find everything you will need. There is also a family changing area.

Was really looking forward to spending at least 2 hrs but someone puked in the pool and we all ended up leaving. An eye opener about the sanitary issues with public pools. They refused to issue a refund despite only being in their facility for not even 30 mins.

Other than the price, this place is always amazing. We paid $108 for 2 adults and 3 kids, but we literally came to Blue so we could take our littlest to the plunge with her big bros. I've been coming here with the kids for a very long time. The fact that we got to swim and watch the skiers was so cool. It was packed because of March break but not at capacity. The pools are warm and hot tubs are hot. Because of all the bad reviews, we did wear water shoes but it wasn't even half as bad as some people stated. Kids had fun and literally went to bed super early tonight so win win for me and hubby! Enjoy!

My family went to Plunge for the first time over the weekend. We were warmly greeted by the manager Stephanie. She showed us where everything was. My toddler really enjoyed her time.
I’m very happy and satisfied with the service because of your amazing manager Stephanie. She went above and beyond and made our experience amazing. I will be coming back and recommend to all family and friends.
Thank you Stephanie.

Excellent venue. While the indoor hot tub was closed, and the swimming suit dryer in the family change room was down, everything else was excellent. It would be nice if there was soap available since they expect those who enter or re-enter the swimming area to have a quick wash with some soap, but that's OK.
The kids had a blast playing at the water playground for kids 10 & under, at the water basketball court outside, and in the outdoor hot tub. They also enjoying sitting under the very large bucket that kept dumping water intermittently in the pool. Free parking for the venue was nice too, even if cover was a bit pricey.
We'd definitely go back, had an amazing time with the family.

I say 4 star because it was expensive for our family to go for 3 hours. But our little one had fun. We stayed at the Westin with an outdoor pool and hot tub so the plunge was similar just with a few more items. So if you hotel doesn’t have a pool it is a great place just a little costly for a family. The staff was super great!!!! Everyone has to pass a deep-end test in order to go on diving dock and rope swing.

Great small water park with outside areas. The lifegaurds were very attentive and provided great peice of mind. The deep pool (11 feet ) with rope swing and jump platform was great fun. You must pass a swim test before being allowed in this area which only makes sense. The only down side was the very small limited changing facilities however this did not dampen the fun had by my family and I. This water park is geared more towards young families and children due to.its size and small slides. Still lots of fun especialy the deep pool.

Went on a rainy, cold October day as a fun indoor activity to do with our 3 and 5 year old, thinking that if they’re open in winter surely the pools are heated adequately. The pools were barely what one would consider warm and both hot tubs were closed. They happily charged us full admission and didn’t say anything on the way in. Felt like a bit of a rip off! We didn’t even stay an hour because we were all cold. Summer activity only!
Sarah Weaver — Google review
The pool deck is disgustingly filthy with clumps of hair and other debris around the drains and looks like it’s barely cleaned once a day. Flip flops are a must if you aren’t looking to pick up a fungal infection. The hot tub is filled with leaves and debris and isn’t maintained the way it should be. Over priced and now they’ve started to charge you for towels that are old and falling apart. Paying $75 for an adult and two kids to swim is ridiculously overpriced for what you are getting. But you do get a lifeguard on a power trip micro managing you as a parent which is an added bonus for your admission fee.

The place is really splendid as the water pools have warm water and variety of activities are available for kids. There is a very warm or hot tub also , where temperature is more than 95 degree. It is really a relaxing experience to stay in the hot waters for some time and you feel yourself refreshed. The slider in the water is very comfortable. One pool for diving is also available. Neat and clean atmosphere with lots of fun.

The indoor pool was freezing but the outdoor part was nice and warm. I get that it is an outdoor pool but there was a lot of stuff floating around the pool. Lots of fun stuff for the kids to do and the hot tubs were nice and warm. Though there were no jets. So it was kind of like sharing a bath tub with a dozen strangers.

This was so much fun. There's indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Water temperature is perfectly regulated and is not cold. Has some fun mini waterpark, a slide, basketball nets, a big volley ball, 11ft deep pool for diving from a splash pad or a swing (to enter, you have to pass a swim test with the life guard and get a separate wrist band), has ample amount of lockers and shower rooms. I went on a nice summer day in July and it wasn't very crowded. Staff is friendly as well. Overall, a wonderful memorable experience !

Great little indoor/outdoor pool for elementary aged children with just enough activities and equipment to make the 2 hours very enjoyable.
I will however say that as an adult (a 35 y/o NLS examiner at that) I somewhat resented having staff tell me to take a swim test - do you seriously not believe an adult who states they can swim? Her condescension was oddly casual.
Despite the lifeguards poor customer service, my son had a great time and we will likely be back. Go off season if you can to avoid the crowds!

Great facility. Friendly staff. We were there first thing in the morning and it was lovely and peaceful. It can get rowdy and noisy later in the day - but hey! It's a great facility for kids so we should all expect them to be having fun! Sad to see the indoor hot tub is STILL not working, however.
We love coming back here again and again.

This place is nice for family or friends pool experience. The pool is half inside and half in open air which makes it such a nice experience. There were so many little kids with their parents excitedly going to the slide and jumping back in the pool. We had a relaxing time and enjoyed our visit.

My 3 daughters and I took my 4 grandchildren here last Friday. The staff were pleasant and check in was quick and straightforward. We were disappointed with the very narrow lockers…my winter coat and purse pretty much filled it up and we did not realize that a lock would be required if we wanted to lock up our valuables so we spent $5 to buy one. This meant stuffing all four of our valuables into one locker. The benches were very narrow and not a lot of room to get winter clothing off etc. The family change room was very small and the change rooms were terrible. The first one that I was in was littered with wristbands and the second one had a piece of paper taped over what I imagine was a large hole. A second hole was visible on another wall and there was cardboard taped over missing baseboard at floor level. We were asked to leave boots outside the change room but there wasn’t a single chair to sit on to get yours or the kids boots on. When juggling kids and bags it would be easier to sit especially for older patrons. The vending machine was poorly stocked. No water, no Gatorade just some pop or energy drinks…not a healthy choice for families especially when trying to stay hydrated. Very disappointed that such a “BIG” resort can be so dilapidated. It’s not the only building at the resort that has seen better days.

We visited Blue Mountain Village at the end of March Break and was hoping the pool would be open and it was! The pool is an indoor to outdoor pool and it was heated! If you are not staying in the village or have a ski pass you will be paying full price which is just over $100 for a family of 4 for 2 hours. They have fresh towel rentals for you for just $1 which was great since we did not come prepared. We had to leave our winter boots outside of the change rooms which you would have to be a bit trusting (bring flip flops) The change rooms were as expected and there were lockers to put your stuff in so don't forget your lock with key or dial lock. The indoor end of the pool has surrounding seats and a kids 10 and under splash pad water slide structure. The main indoor swimming is shallow and has a water drop bucket which our 9 year old loved. There is an indoor hot tub, but unfortunately the bubbles were not running so you are sitting in a warm tub with friends... You can swim through to the outdoor pool which is all heated. There is a little water basketball setup on one side, one simple waterslide and a large swimming area (all shallow). There is a fun separate 11ft deep heated pool with rope jump and diving board (quick swim test required). There is also a larger outdoor hot tub. Also has many outdoor seating as well. It was the perfect add on for our families' quick getaway. It could use a little updating aesthetically. The hot tubs could be a bit warmer and ideally working bubbles. Even though it seemed a little well played, we still really enjoyed it! Sorry no photos as we were all in the water:)

This place is great the pool is warm, lots of different water features for young kids including a waterslide and basketball gets. Nothing negative to say with one exception - price. They have "dynamic" pricing so they say their prices change depending on demand.
We went as a family of four on a Monday and it was $100 to swim for two hours. To compare, down the road you can swim at the community centre in college for $11 for the whole family for 1.5 hours.
I get Blue Mountain has an elevated pricing structure because of the nature of the clientele, but man, that's some sticker shock... But buyer beware.
Matthew Gray — Google review
It was my first experience there.
I have been already in similar winter pools. There are some notes I want to mention. I hope the manager of this facility consider it. There are not enough change room stalls and showers at all. It took almost 15 minutes to use one of them. In each section there are only four change room stalls that is not enough for such a crowded place. The temperature in changing room is very low and it is completely cold. For a swimming pool such as this, the temperature of the main swimming area and the changing room must be the same! I do not recommend this place for children during the cold seasons and for whom are sensitive to temperature differences. I personally would not return to this place in the future.

Blue Mountain Ski Resort, located near Collingwood on the shores of Georgian Bay, is a popular ski destination in Ontario. The resort offers various amenities such as restaurants, shops and accommodation options at the base of the hill. The slopes cater to families and are especially popular with Torontonians. However, lift tickets can be expensive but visiting during weekdays can save money and avoid crowds. Rentals are available but renting outside the resort may be more cost effective.
Love visiting here! It’s a different experience every season. I loved the ridge runner coaster in winter and the gondola ride in summer. There are plenty of activities to do! We even found a little waterfall here too when walking through the trails. Having an entire day to explore this place is ideal.

If only the lift tickets weren’t expensive. You’re better off coming on a weekday where it’s cheaper and less crowded. Rentals are good quality but rent outside the resort if you want to save money. Hills are nicely maintained and same with lifts. Great views and nice lodging area. Can’t really beat blue even with all the downfalls, I still choose to come here every time.

We loved it... we stayed at Mosaic Boutiques and it's a lovely hotel. Very clean except for a small stain that was on the sheets, didn’t really bother us. The pool was the highlight!
But I have to knock down a star due to the insane wait times in the lines. We went Saturday around noon, we expected it to be busy. However, waiting one hour for the mountain ridge coaster DESPITE a short line up does not make any sense - things move incredibly slow. We had the same issue with the triple zip line, waited an hour for a small line to move. Something needs to be done about wait times. I noticed that there is only 1 employee at each of these attractions assisting people to get on/off - thus, it's quite slow. We had the play all day pass but gave up after the two attractions, we did not want to waste more time standing in line.
Restaurants at Blue Mountain Resort are just okay. I have to knock another star down for this. We were disappointed with Northwinds brewpub and Rusty's at blue...the service was fine, but food is bland and overpriced. Next time, we will just pack our own groceries. However, the $20 voucher for breakfast at the Pottery was well worth it and was delicious!
Overall, it was an okay experience. We still had a great time! Last pic is a bagel that appeared on our balcony in the morning LOL.

Great location, everything was right there, the room that we got had a kitchen so it came handy. The place has a hot tub open all year and a pool that is only open in summer. I had a great time there my only complaint will be that they didn't have a blender in the kitchen but everything was very good in general. By the way, the underground parking was only $20 dollars per day.

Blue Mountain has been one of my favourite destinations to ski in Ontario for some time. It's really unfortunate to see how expensive even a day ticket has become these days. Gone are the days of $50 or $60 lift tickets, which I thought were already steep. You now have to fork over $125+ to enjoy a day of skiing on these slopes, and that doesn't include the cost of food in the village or in the lodges which are also very high. Portions go down, prices go up. It's unfortunate as my home ski hill to see such rapid increase in price. Badlands should also be moved back to the original location and have a dedicated lift for park as it did for many years. The park pass should also be reintroduced as there are WAY too many young children who have no business in the large badlands park cutting riders and skiers off, creating an unsafe park environment for everyone. If no-pass access was limited to just the Yahoo and L-Park, it would allow experienced skiers and boarders to ride free of the worry that a 6 year old is standing in the blind landing of a 40 foot jump. Other than this, yes, blue mountain is a fun hill. The lifts are fast, and there's a good variety of terrain, especially in glades. The lift lines and prices are what's getting to be out of control.

Loved this place. I've never been to anything like it before! It is a cute village with a good variety of food/stores to visit. I went mid January. It was a snowy weekend around 15°F. I recommend wearing snow pants and snow boots with warm socks if you plan to be walking more than half hour.. your toes can get cold. Dress for the weather or you won't enjoy it! They have lights on at night very pretty and a DJ playing music later in the evening. Go take a dance break! Forget what people think! Youll never see the same people again! 🤣 enjoy life 🏔 The slopes were in great conditions because it was snowing all day long. Look at their snow report & web cams before going so you know what to expect and understand that slope conditions change depending on how the weather is during that week. They cannot make snow if temps are too high. Lift lines go pretty fast. I enjoyed southern comfort trails. Badlands park was not open but they have made alot of snow so it should be ready soon! The beginner slopes looked perfect for all levels of advancements! From tiny bunny hill, to medium bunny hill, to larger bunny hills. A great place to slowly level up to the blues and blacks without feeling like it's too huge of a jump. A family friendly village. I loved seeing lots of families and kids having a good time. Get your free parking spot early! The lots get filled quickly! They have a convenience store in the village you can buy food/snacks to take back to hotel rooms! I enjoyed visiting BLUE 🇨🇦 I will be visiting again..from NY with love ❤️ Life is Beautiful God is good Enjoy every moment!

I recently had the pleasure of spending a day at Blue Mountain Ski Resort, and even though I didn't try skiing, I still had an amazing time exploring the resort and taking in the stunning scenery.
First of all, the resort is incredibly well-maintained, with clean and modern facilities and plenty of amenities to keep visitors entertained. There are a variety of restaurants and cafes on-site, as well as boutique shops, spas, and other attractions. There is truly something for everyone at Blue Mountain, whether you're a skiing enthusiast or not.
One of the highlights of my day at Blue Mountain was taking a gondola ride to the top of the mountain. The views from the gondola are absolutely breathtaking, with panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape and the resort below. Once at the top, there are plenty of walking trails and lookout points where you can take in the scenery and snap some great photos.
Another great feature of the resort is the many outdoor activities on offer. I particularly enjoyed the skating rink, which is beautifully lit at night and offers a fun and festive atmosphere. There are also plenty of snowshoeing and hiking trails, as well as other winter sports and activities, making it easy to stay active and engaged throughout the day.
One thing that really stood out to me during my visit was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Everyone I encountered was welcoming and helpful, and they really went out of their way to ensure that my experience was enjoyable and stress-free.
Overall, I had a fantastic time at Blue Mountain Ski Resort, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and festive winter getaway, whether or not you're a skier. With plenty of amenities, outdoor activities, and stunning scenery, it's a destination that truly has something for everyone.

My only tip that you need is bring extra food if you don’t want to eat from the cafeteria(beware the prices ain’t cheap). And if your a beginner try to get the green badge ASAP because when the staff leave to their break you can’t go forward. But hopefully your experience will be wonderful.

Mostly good, except the north convention building toilets closed this weekend. Is that why there are so many brown patches of snow? Not just a lack of snow I smelt. Had to go back to the Village to use the bathroom. Very inconvenient. Long lift line ups, almost didn't make it. Otherwise had a pleasant stay at the Village lodgings. Will come back. Please fix the toilet situation. No brown snow please.

It's a good place to visit once or twice but after that, there's nothing much to do there. The village is small, takes you maybe max 10 mins to walk around. Went snowboarding, the slopes weren't smooth and had mud when I went. The price is also a bit expensive. Tried to book the Day Pass to try some of the activities but the two I was interested in (tubing and roller coaster ) were closed. Make sure you check before you purchase.

I recently spent a weekend skiing at Blue Mountain Ski Resort, & despite the less-than-ideal snow conditions for mid-February, the overall experience was fantastic. The resort worked hard to maintain the runs, & most were open, providing an enjoyable skiing experience. While the lift lines were manageable, having a marshal during peak times could enhance the overall flow & avoid conflicts.
The staff on the hill were friendly & provided guidance efficiently. They demonstrated fast reactions to ensure everyone's safety. Blue Mountain caters to all skill levels, although more advanced skiers might not find it extremely challenging. Nonetheless, we found ways to keep ourselves engaged & enjoyed the variety of runs.
The proximity of the Blue Mountain ski village adds convenience, allowing for easy access to snacks or meals without removing all your gear. Overall, I'd give Blue Mountain a 9/10 recommendation for a great skiing experience.

Blue Mountain was great. Lots of hills. The atmosphere is fantastic. However as a novice skier I found the selection of hill were very few for my level. I’ve been to other resorts and have been able to ski on the blue runs but I found Blue Mountain to be quite a bit steeper for my skill level.
Eugenia Falls Conservation Area is a beautiful spot located just 31 minutes away from the village. The area features an old mill and rugged trails that provide a sense of seclusion despite its proximity to civilization. Visitors can marvel at the majestic waterfall and even stand at its top, offering stunning views of the surrounding forest. While there is a fee for parking, it's worth exploring the 3.5 km trail that leads to a high point in the forest with breathtaking views.
This is one of my favorite waterfalls in Ontario. It's tall, and the hills of the Beaver Valley make it feel mythical, especially in the Autumn. The water runs fullest in the spring and then you'll find a thunderous torrent that gives off spray. Otherwise, it can be relatively sparse for water. Nonetheless, it's not to be missed!

This is a very nice falls but there are really no good viewing spots. I know it's a conservation area but they had already cut trees to create a view but it doesn't look like they ate maintains them as they're growing in. Last time we were there you could cross the top of the falls but now have to walk 1km around as it is all fenced off and signed everywhere. This is also another park that requires a $10 parking fee with heavy enforcement. There is also no way to access the bottom of this falls that I know of.

Nice conservation area 2 hours from Toronto. The trail starts from the falls into the woods for about 3.5 km ending with a beautiful view from the high point of the forest. Looks amazing in fall. The trail does not make a loop, so you need to return the same path.
Good sight of the falls at the start of the trail. I was a little disappointed as usually you get to the scenic point after having made effort on the trails. Well that's normally my incentive. But then at the end of the trail the sight was quite breathtaking so it all ended well.
PS: The staff said the trail goes up to Tobermory, if one is feeling really enthusiastic ;)

A wonderful place for a family hike. Our daughter loved the ridges trails, the old abandoned building and bring able to check out the river upstream. We found ourselves here on a cold windy day with a few isolated rain/hail showers, but still enjoyed the hike. The trails are well marked with blazes to follow but be sure to understand the blaze markings since there are a few “unofficial” side trails that you could maybe get lost on.
The viewpoint is quite simple and if you hike upstream towards the bridge in order to cross to the other side, you will find some of the old original structures along the way.
I would have given 5 stars but there is graffiti on the old structures and I picked up some garbage and beer cans along the trails and couldn’t find a garbage can to discard to waste I picked up.

Eugenia falls is a spectacular sight to see. Well worth the 1.5hr drive from the kitchener/waterloo area. Lots of parking although you do have to pay through an app which was extremely easy to do. The falls are a very short walk from the parking lot. But if you really want to take in all the beauty this conservation area has to offer I suggest to follow the creek as far down as you can then walking the rocks back up to the falls. Once at the bottom of the falls you truly get to see the beauty of the falls.

A nice hiking spot, and an okay place to view the waterfalls. It’s $10 to park for the day so honestly I would go here more so if you wanted to go for a nice long hike as opposed to seeing waterfalls. There’s some cool sights along the trail such as an old stone power building and a great section of the Bruce. But there’s only really one spot to see the falls from above. If you’re looking for an easy place to swim, this isn’t it. (Try Hogg’s falls instead!)
Beautiful falls view and very easy to get to, right by free parking.
Hike the Bruce Trail for 7km to reach Eugenia Falls or if you don't want to hike the full 14km, take a 10 minute drive, although w/ $10 parking.

This is on crown land, parking lot fairly small. Hoggs Falls are definitely worth visiting; very beautiful and just a short walk from the parking lot (2 options, one via a set of wooden stairs, the other short distance along the road and an easy walk)

Small parking lot can fit about a dozen cars. Filling up quickly. Short walking distance to a nice little waterfall. The rope part is a bit slippery and requires attention.

Awesome access to Bruce trail, lovely creek & falls, well used trails, ran out of parking spots in Saturday morning

Amazing location. Great trails and the waterfall is amazing. Wear water shoes or running shoes, as there are rocks and fast moving water. If you wear flip-flops or slides, you will lose them. The water is ice cold and refreshing. Be aware that to get under the waterfall, there is a steep, short climb down where a few very strong ropes are provided for you to get down the approximately 20 feet/6 metres to the bottom. It's not hard to get down or up.
Giuseppe Siino — Google review
Very conveniently next to the waterfall. Beware that there is no winter maintenance so be absolutely sure you can get out of the parking lot before you enter it in the winter. Otherwise you can just park on the street.

Great park for a hike or just appreciate the Falls, which is feet from the parking lot. Worth the drive to Flesherton. Have lunch or dinner at Stevens Bar-B-Q a short drive away.

A rather small parking lot, with about space for 15 vehicles. I have heard that you may be able to park along the road coming up to it as well. The best part is that the parking is free! There’s a porta potty there, and a nice signpost explaining some details about the area.

We absolutely loved this park. Check in was so fast and easy. No outrageous noise during quiet hours. Lot sizes are very generous. Easy access to the beach for some stat gazing. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Meaford is such a nice little town.

This is a great spot to camp and visit Meaford. We do this every year when merchanting at the Apple Harvest Festival as ITR Creations. The sites aren't huge or overly private but they have electricity and a nice firepit. It is well worth taking a walk along the beach and some of the hiking trails. Easy going staff and friendly seasonal campers too.

Not impressed. Dogs are not allowed on the main beach at all, only on the short dog beach.....which I don't understand because my dog does not leave garbage anywhere as I noticed there was lots of garbage left there by humans....
...I have a dog, a small dog, and even for her the dog beach is not worth it....maybe 50 feet long and there was green fluffy algae in the water, no thanks.
I drive (and live in) a mini-bus and for a vehicle that size, there is no parking other than if I park it (which I did do) "parallel-style" but then I'm taking up three spaces.
The sites for RV's are, overpriced in my opinion, and SO close to one another...not for me...I like my space.
The beach is very very narrow (once you get passed the huge boulders)...the water was very calm and nice temp but with the green stuff floating in it, I wouldn't swim in it.
Best thing was the Kawartha ice cream I had ("one scoop" was like THREE scoops).
I will not be returning nor will I encourage my family/friends to.

I did deliver one of my Rv to a guest for a 7 nights rental. They have a wonderful site on the water. I will book this campsite for myself. I have been told I need to book a year in advance. Plenty of rooms and all utilities are on site. Beach, playground, and other amenities are available. My guest did enjoy themselves and will come back next year.

Always a nice quiet place to enjoy your time at the beach. Of course when I went it was a Fall day. but I went to see if I could find any beach glass. Pet a few dogs, and continue on my autumn drive of checking out the colourful leaves up north. This spot in the summer is way less crowded than many other beaches in the area. Highly recommended

Beautiful clean park, 2 play areas for the kids, one down by the beach the other in the camping area. Bathrooms and showers are well looked after and numerous garbage disposal areas. Nice off leash beach area for dogs. One thing to pay attention to Is the one way traffic signage, if you choose not to you could end up in a unfortunate situation like the one in the pic. Easy walk to the beach from the back camping area. Easy accessible dump station.

Beautiful place, great swimming. The lake is always cold, and that's a part of the fun. We used to make the trek out to the big rocks about ~30 meters out from the campground beach. Water is never too deep and rarely went above my head, except for in some spots. The clay in the sand fascinated me as a kid! Very fun and exciting, my brother and I used to love the playground, too. The ice cream shop would always give heaping servings. Lovely spot and worth the drive.
Photo taken June 2021, walking along the coast of the lake.
This is a wonderful place for a long hike. In the winter makes for great snowshoeing or cross country skiing. There's a pavilion to use or rent for parties and a beautiful lake.

This place is amazing. Lots of parking on site, the hike takes about ans hour and is under 5 km. There is a beautiful pond and crystal clear creek that runs through the property. They have a feel small ponds that have massive rainbow trout in them. We stood and watched them swim around, so enjoyable. The main attraction to the conservation is the Sulphur pond. It's absolutely amazing, we've never seen anything like that. A must see if in the area.

A delightful easy trail. The springs are beautiful to see - crystal clear water with gentle bubbling. At the entrance, there's also a mini-enclosure with a swan in it. I just wish the trails were longer!

Canadian Geese ,Mallard ducks, and 2/3 Mute Swans call this place home. The water is not normal, as it has a higher level of hydrogen sulfide, slightly tinting I'd deeper blue. The rainbow trout doesn't seem to care. Walking to the spring and smell gently gets stronger until you get there. The plant life is so unusual black an brown

Decent playground for kiddos but pretty run down. There was only one lonely swan and he had a path worn from his nest to the water. Lots of shade and picnic areas though. Great if you just need a pitstop to stretch your legs or take a break during a long journey.

They have 2 nice small parks for the kids to play on. They have some picnic tables around.
Very beautiful trails to walk on. It has a nice salmon pond.
But the spring itself is kind of cool but underwhelming. I've seen some really nice springs.
But a nice place to hang out for a day.
They also have a safety village.

The Inglis Falls Conservation Area, situated south of Owen Sound, is a conservation area that boasts an impressive 18-meter-high waterfall. The area offers well-maintained trails and picnic facilities for visitors to enjoy year-round. This particular waterfall is a popular attraction during the winter season due to the stunning frozen cascade that forms over it. The landscape surrounding Inglis Falls gives the impression of being deep in the rainforest but is easily accessible from the parking lot.
A must stop when in Owen Sound!!!
Beautiful waterfall. It's an amazing place to take photos and also explore nearby trails and area. Water flow was massive and looked amazing.
Waterfall is easily accessible from the parking lot. Please note there is $10 parking fee.

One of the best waterfalls in Ontario, in my opinion. A must see if in the area. The viewing area is a short walk from the parking lot. But the conservation area has lots of hiking trails as well. We parked down river at Harrison park and hiked up. Was under 8 km and took about 1.5hours. Beautiful scenery along the whole trail. Lots of parking in the conservation area, but doesn't get quite busy on nice days. Will be going back in fall when the leaves turn. We've been going here for years, in all season and will continue to keep coming back due to its beauty. A perfect place to spend an afternoon exploring.

Came by chance as the server at the restaurant where we ate suggested this place to visit.
Just 7 minutes away from Sabitri global cuisine we decided to check it out.
Covered in snow and icicles the river flowing turns into a gushing waterfall, it’s so magical watching water turning into ice.
Lovely spot for a quiet relaxing space and it’s great for trails in the summer.

We visited several waterfalls in Grey County on our recent trip there and we thought Inglis Falls were the most beautiful. The access to the falls was also very well laid out, so you can get a good view of the falls. There are steep stairs and a rocky path to one of the viewing areas, so not everyone will be able to manage this, but there is still a good view of the falls from close to the parking lot. The washrooms at these falls are also above average.

Inglis Falls are very nice. It is short hike from parking lot, 3 min ish, however there are trails where you could spend time walking/hiking. I went on Inglis Falls Pine loop trail for walk. So you could go to All-trails app to find the trail which suits you and how much time you want to spend outside. Trail is mainly in shades (trees) and is easy, just some sections of rocks and roots.
Happy hiking.

Gorgeous water falls. My son thought there was a hidden passage way at the bottom. Can only get photos from a distant. Pathways don't let you visit the bottom of the falls. Downfall is $9 for parking is fairly high. Recommend parking at Grey roots museum and walking across. 5to10 min walk. We didn't accomplish the hiking available and cant comment on conditions.
Great falls.

What a beautiful waterfall in Owen Sound. This place expects no hiking from you to see this beauty, but a short walk along the man built walkway. It’s closed for the winter so you’d be disappointed, but definitely check here out when it’s not winter. Parking is $10 and covers different places such as Eugenia Falls.

Inglis Falls is one of Owen Sounds well-known waterfalls, with excellent views of the falls.
The hiking trails is more like a lollipop style, with the option to do the top loop or to hike to Harrison Park with the out-and-back trail.
The trail starts off like a fairly typical forest trail, then as you begin the descent of the escarpment, it understandably becomes very rocky and muddy (rainy days) the hiking trail follows the Sydenham River and there are several footbridges and river crossings. The trail then climbs up to a beautiful arboretum and continues back into the forest along the river where it leads into Harrison Park, where the path is balanced and covered with a lush canopy of trees.
Trail- easy to moderate

This one has been on my list for a while. I visited during a snow storm. This area gets lots of snow and has whiteout conditions so if you visit during winter check the weather before you go. It was worth the wait. Stunning views are a short walk from the parking lot. $10 parking fee.

Pros.
My brother-in-law did not fall into the falls. Ongoing problem.
The best view is down the steps.
It's an amazing view.
Nice walking trails throughout.
Not that busy on a weekday.
Cons.
The bathrooms. My god. No ventilation. Broken urinal. Gas! Gas! Gas!
Other then the bathroom smell. It is a wonderful little site.
If your in the area it's worth the visit.

This really is one of the best waterfalls I've seen, especially in this area near Owen Sound. However, we had a hard time finding the entrance to the falls when we put the location on the map (turns out we had to drive a bit further down to reach the parking lot). But thankfully, we didn't find the entrance because there would have been a fee to get in with the car, but we were able to reach the falls from Harrison Park.
Free parking and much better way to spend your day in the park than at the falls, but I would definitely recommend paying a visit to these falls because they really were a very nice sight to see. The trail to the falls from Harrison Park had some difficulty but definitely doable, but it took us around one hour (one way) but worth the hike in my opinion.

While I haven’t had the chance to use the park to its full extent, hiking from Harrison Park to Inglis falls was one of the most picturesque trails i’ve hiked in a while. The terrain varies from smooth and paved, beneath a gorgeous canopy of trees, with several bridge crossings, has some moderate hill climbs, an easy walk through an arboretum, then back into the forest walking along the Sydenham River. As you get closer to Inglis Falls, there are several footbridges and also the ascent to the top has a fair bit of rocky terrain. Takes about an hour from Harrison Park to Inglis Falls on that trail.
Beautiful scenery.
Great treaded hiking boots recommended.
Trails is well marked.

This was probably the best place we've visited in Owen Sound; this park is free to enter and free parking with camping available (at a fee). This park has everything for everyone, from playgrounds and a basketball court for kids to trails and a restaurant for the whole family. The only thing this place doesn't have is a gift shop for shopping.
There are a lot of trails in this park, some of which connect to Inglis Falls (around 1 hour hike for myself and wife). The trails can be muddy from recent rain and have many uneven grounds from tree roots and rocks. We missed the entry point to Inglis Falls, but there was one available, but you would need to pay a fee to enter (or free if you go from the trails).
There is a decent restaurant on site with average prices and food and a concession stand on the side of the building. The park also had a fenced area with swans and other small bodies of water.
Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here whether you are from Owen Sound or just visiting. We spent a few hours here hiking and ate at the restaurant afterward. Also, the ice cream you get from the concession stand comes in a generous amount (recommend).

A Lovely Jewel In Owen Sound
My family and I visited this park back in August 2022 during our long trip from Ottawa to Tobermory. Sorry that we could not spend much time but there was enough time to appreciate every aspect of the park (picnic tables, mini-zoo, beautiful trails, etc). Staff were very friendly especially the young lady at the rental place). Will definitely consider coming back. Well recommended.
Great to stop by for a day hike! Location is easy to access and doesn't appear to be busy during the week. There is paid parking and access to the caves is free. There is no staff either.
The walk to the caves is about 10min. to reach the caves. It's a very easy hiking trail. As you approach the caves, the elevation turns to loose and hard rock. Be sure to wear proper hiking shoes.
The cave itself doesn't go very deep, about 40 deep and about 30 feet high. Place seems to have some history about the man it's named after. It was an interesting subject to look into after. There is also a hiking loop that runs tight to the cliff face. This hike is much more difficult than the hike trial access.
Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area!

This is a really cool place to visit. The cave is pretty big and the whole area is really neat. If you like hiking I recommend taking the Bruce trail from the parking lot up by the road. It's a beautiful walk, at end of May there's trillium flowers covering the forest floor. It's absolutely beautiful. If in the area again I will definitely come back again.

Caves are a fun short little activity, and are close to both parking areas (paid and unpaid). My experience is to not waste the money paying for parking as its only 10 min walk to free area just off highway near entrance sign.
They lose one star for charging for parking which requires online access, and for the one lane road full of potholes to get there. If you charging for parking then you got to do some upkeep.
The walk to the caves is short and quite mild/easy. To get to the caves its medium loose rocks so a bit more tedious for anyone with you kids or mobility issues. Saw lots of negative reviews about the vandalism and although it exists and sad to see, it wasnt as bad as i was anticipating.
There is another small cave just a minute or two down the side trail so dont miss that too.

A Well-Preserved Cavern System!
My sons and I ventured and see for ourselves these caves in the area during our road trip to Bruce Peninsula back in Aug 2022. I was quite impressed by them! We ventured around, even squirming though the cracks and crannies. I didn't feel unsafe despite its intimidating walls (what if a rock fragment fell on us). My only issue was driving through this little narrow and bumpy gravel road that goes through the Conservation park to the caves. It look quite sketchy which made me a bit nervous. It is so narrow and steep quite steep in some parts, I can’t imagine how the opposite vehicle would be able to pass! Other than that, what a spectacular the caves were. Well recommended!

Fascinating large cave in beautiful countryside. After visiting the cave, I recommend taking the Bruce Trail access from the main parking lot. An easy hike through woodland will take you above the caves, with awesome views down. Parking is $10 both in the tiny lot next to the road and the larger one nearer to the caves at the end of a narrow dirt road. Well worth the visit!

So much fun to explore the caves, great to beat the heat too! The trail to the caves is easy to navigate but will need good shoes to to really enjoy climbing over all the Rocky structures. Once you've walk through the caves, you can climb up above and trek in the forest back to the parking lot
Priscilla Mak — Google review
We walked from the first parking lot, which isn’t too long of a walk. There is a gravel road you can drive to a paid parking lot and have an even shorter walk to see the caves. We had to take turns exploring the cave since the rocks are very slippery and jagged and we had dogs with us. The cave is pretty cool. We didn’t spend much time exploring but I would go explore without dogs next time. The trail to get to the caves are fine for dogs just lots of stones & roots to step over

Its a short walk from parking lot to the caves. You can pay for parking via an app.

Sauble Falls Provincial Park is a forested park with cascades that are perfect for paddling, camping and swimming. It also offers excellent opportunities for trout and salmon fishing. The Sauble Trail is another attraction which passes through a mixed hardwood forest and red pine plantation, providing information about current and historic forest management practices in the area. Additionally, the trail traverses ancient sand dunes that are protected from bikes but can be hiked upon.
Well, this was the beginning of our camping season and we started with Sauble Provincial Park. It was super cold night but was fun. Awesome experience, the tent sites were little small but no complains. A special mention for the washrooms, they were very tidy and showers were very clean. The service staff was super sweet. Definitely a thumbs up and will recommend this to anyone wanting to try this out. Please like my review if you find it helpful.

Nice small but updated campground close to Sauble Beach. Campsites offer good shade and mid to low privacy. I think it's a 4, but give it a 5 for the updated modern infrastructure. Washrooms and showers were clean, with integrated laundry and dish washing facilities. They even had a L2 electric vehicle charger there too. Not much to do in the campground other than a short and easy walk to the falls. The main reason you would camp here would be to go to Sauble Beach, but there is a playground and easy use shelter. TIP: nicest sites are along the river but you are high above it and can't really access it in the west campground.

It was a great provincial park! It had nice walking trails, quick access to the falls, and great places to just sit around and chill. The campground was really well maintained by the workers and my time spent here was amazing! It was also a great location as it was close to many nearby attractions.

This is a nice park and well kept. The one issue is that site descriptions are misleading. We had a site for a trailer up to 32 feet, and our 24-foot trailer almost would not fit, and our fire pit could not be used because we had to park almost on top of it. It was also on the back side of our trailer. They need to update site descriptions or trim the trees and change the site setups. Our site was not the only one with this issue. This was site 17.

Loved the park! It is pretty small but has renovated comfort stations and for us this is a big advantage. I had to work and Fido coverage was amazing everywhere. The falls are very close even though our site was on East campground that is on the other side of the road. You have to drive to the beach and parking is not free, you have to pay. But if you go to the town, the main street has 2 hours of free parking, this is more than enough to come and watch the gorgeous sunset. So the park is great! Only one disadvantage - there is no beach in the park.

The campsite was excellent. The washroom and shower facilities were impeccably clean. The staff was incredibly friendly, and it's conveniently located near the beach. You can purchase wood and ice at the entrance until 9 pm. Additionally, there are laundry and dryer facilities available.
One important tip is to make sure to lock your car. I had a bad experience where I forgot to lock mine, and during the night, a raccoon managed to open my trunk and eat all my breakfast. So, it's crucial to keep your food stored far away from your tent.

Nice little spot to do some kayaking or very light hiking. We parked up at the north lot which allows you to check out the falls quickly for about $6. You need to pay online or at one of the machines. Was able to see the falls and everything in about 10 minutes. Not much else to do on that side, some people were out in the stream swimming which was kind of trashy but whatever. Not worth making it your destination, but if you pass by on the way to something else it’s a decent pit stop.

Best camping location ever!
Sauble Falls are amazing, remind me the very famous Dunn’s River Fall in Jamaica.
We are very lucky to have a campsite right besides the river, so easy launch the boats into the river. The river water is very clam, excellent for paddle boarding and canoeing. Just the water quality is not the greatest.
5 mins drive to Sauble Beach. The water is so clear, waves are awesome to play with, sands are so fine and soft.
Accessible to many other great places. We also make a day trip to Lion Head.

Beautiful mature trees that provide plenty of shade and privacy, clean bathrooms and amenities. Lovely 3km trail on the west side of the campground after the Sauble falls. FYI if your expecting rain during your stay I don't recommend site 44 as it sits low and turns into a pond.

Really nice park & staff.
Good spot to stay to explore the area, fishing, and paddling.
We got a canoe rental from Outervision Adventure Tours as the parks canoe rental is closed for the season.

Loved heading up there for a camping trip. The fall colours had just started so everything was beautiful. Park was clean, especially the bathrooms! Only issue was with checking in: we waited at the window of the gatehouse for a bit before we parked the car to knock on the windows. It did take a while for them to come out but they apologized for the wait and answered all our questions and provided a map and directions to our site!

Pros:
Nice
Clean
Quaint
The mini falls are nice to walk through and see
Not too busy
Canoe/kayak rental available
Cons:
Small
One trail
Not much to do
If you want to spend a day here, there really isn't much to do. It's worth a quick pit-stop for me or it's worth camping if you're driving into Sauble Beach everyday. Again, very cute and clean.
Greig's Caves is a hidden natural attraction located in Lions Head, Northern Bruce Peninsula. These limestone caves were famously featured in the movie Quest for Fire and offer visitors a stunning view of Georgian Bay from 91 meters above. The trail leading to the caves is well-maintained with mulch, making it easy to trek even during wet weather. The one-hour loop trail takes visitors through ten unique caves with breathtaking stone formations that are worth exploring.
An absolute must experience when visiting Tobermory. Easily can be explored in 1-3 hours. Would not recommend for those with accessibility issues and would compare it to climbing flights of stairs up and down. Wear comfortable footwear and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. The photos don’t do it justice, go see for yourself!

CASH ONLY TICKETS!
It’s a wonderful hike of about 45-60 minutes. The difficulty level isn’t much but obviously hiking shoes and sports clothing recommended. The hike consists of some beautiful caves along the way that are really interesting. You can be adventurous and go in if you would like. There is also a small trail for a lookout point that’s really beautiful. Overall recommended for a nice weekend or a day activity from GTA.

Excellent family adventure. Visiting from the prairie's and this hike was everything we were hoping for. Took our time on this hike exploring the caves and taking photos. Our kids (11 & 13) had a great adventure and best part was there was no time constraint. After our hike we used the picnic tables in the parking area for a picnic. Should have brought a flashlight as the website recommends, but the cell phone flashlight gave us some light.

Gorgeous! These caves are a beautiful sight, made from the glacial retreat ages ago. With a beautiful vista, it's time well spend. I would being hiking shoes for this one. The only heads up is that there's barely any signal and can only be payed with cash.

Looking for something fun to do?
Want to get the kids out to explore nature?
Looking for a great date idea?
Then you should definitely check out Greig’s caves!
I brought my six-year-old to explore the caves and she was in her element!
She climbed, jumped, played hide and seek on me and explored till her hearts content.
There was so much to see and there is no time limit. The caves were so magnificent. You can choose to stay on the path and just look from a distance or climb right inside and explore a little deeper. I do strongly suggest bringing a flashlight or a headlight so that you can see better. However it is not needed.(it does make for better pictures if you have a flashlight)
Some people recommend a hiking stick but I do not because I feel using your hands on the rocks is much safer and more stable.
Keep your eyes out on the cliffs above for a cool Eagles nest that we found.
If you are wondering how difficult the hike is, have no fear. There is a path to follow that will be very similar, either to climbing upstairs or walking downstairs. Keeping in mind that some of the dissent or accent would be like climbing up several flights of stairs. The only difficulty would be when you climb in and out of caves that can be very slippery on the rocks so wearing soft soled hiking shoes can be very important.(but not necessary)
The entire experience is under the canopy of the trees or caves themselves so sunscreen is not really necessary. It is quite cool because you are in the shade and the caves offer a nice cool ambient temperature as well. You may want to put some bug spray on or, wear pants and long sleeves although I did not experience any mosquitoes or bugs during our hike(around 4-6pm)
All in all, it was a fantastic experience and we will definitely come back to explore some more next time!
Oh yeah! CASH! CASH! CASH! It is the only form of payment.

Great place for an afternoon hike! Be sure to bring cash and wear solid hiking shoes, boots or good runners.
I was able to quickly go through this area in 30 min and take plenty of photos.

A short hike but miles better than some of the more well known Parks Canada trails elsewhere. The forest looks like pristine jungle, it’s peaceful and cool. While a short hike, there are parts requiring climbing especially near the caves where there’s quite a lot of rock scrambling. The caves themselves are magnificent. Treacherous with the wet and slimy rocks but well worth entering and poking around. Bring several flashlights in order to be able to go in deep but be aware, it’s all at your own risk and perils. Really a fantastic experience. Entry is cash only and about 45CAD for a family of four.

A hidden gem in the heart of Lions Head. We accidentally ended up visiting Greig’s Caves as the weather seemed gloomy for our previously planned Lions Head trail. I am so glad we visited the caves - they were spectacularly breathtaking and worth every minute of our time. The trail is well covered with mulch that makes trekking easy even in wet weather.
It’s a 1 hour loop trail but we spent some quality time exploring every cave and the stone formations. Must visit when in Lions Head!

Enjoy hiking and sightseeing well here is a perfect opportunity the trail through the caves is a great challenge with lots of climbing the view is incredible but wanna wear no slip shoes been here once and plan to come back. It's definitely something to put on the to-do-list

Really cool caves and great hike. The trails were kind of short, shorter than suggested. All the trails took less than an hour to complete with time to take plenty of photos. But really great scenery and view. A little costly for entry.

$15/person to get in. Cool caves. Beautiful vistas. Somewhat challenging hike on a hot humid day. Met a few other people on the trail but mostly it seemed like we had the place to ourselves.

A real gem. It's private owned. One has quite some freedom to explore left an right to the trail. Be sure to wear proper shoes. Hiking shoes would be best. A little bit climbing is necessary even if you don't decline into the caves. My boys of 5 and 8 went through without any troubles. So it is not highly challenging, depending on how fast/deep you decide to go it can turn into a good workout also for fit people. Younger kids or conditionally handicapped person should consider well before visiting though. We spent abt. 2,5 hours on our round trip incl. Breaks and exploration in the caves. We spent 45 dollars as a family of four for entrance (you can only pay cash on site, no prepurchasing or credit card payment!). A fair price for a wonderful adventure for the kids.

Went with my daughter to trek this underrated cave and was totally loving it! Needs to be on everyone's must do list in Tobermory. Owner is awesome to converse with and his little 12yr old pups is quite the character. Bring a flashlight, good hiking shoes, water and sense of adventure. Upper and lower trail are well laid out and they haul in a ton of wood chip so nobody slides or looses traction. Tons of rock to climb. Lots of panoramic backdrops for photos. We had our lunch here. When you see the turbines you are almost there. See pics.

As of Oct 2023, the fees was $15 dollars per person. Entrance fees aside, the rocks were magnificent. The trail to the rocks was short, but was a little challenging. The shot trail to the bay had nothing to see.

First time back in 3 years.
Pros.
My brother-in-law was happy that no one died.
You get your weekly exercise in one day.
Amazing trails.
Fresh mulch on the trail was great on a rainy day.
Reasonable admission.
Couple of porta potties and a hand wash station.
Lots of parking.
Beautiful sights.
Cons.
The fence on the look out trail. A couple nails might fix that right up.
Someone knocked down all the Inuksuks.
That's it. It's a challenge if you're over 45 and your wife drags to you all these places. But, it's worth it . It a fun walk and great to visit when in the area.

I went on a drive just to see the caves, reached my destination and said cash only, counted my coins and had 7 dollars only, I still went in and inquired and said can etransfer, connection was bad and even tried calling my daughter to do the etransfer but no phone connection as well. I turned around and plan to go back before they close for the year. So if you are reading this and wanted to go their for a hike better bring with you cash, 15 dollars for adults and 7.50 for kids and kids under 2 years old are free.

Great place to hiking and have a little adventure climbing rocks and walking into caves. A lot of caves for sure, some seems naturally formed and some may be excavated to form as caves. Definitely bring cash otherwise etranfer is an option. Do wear hiking shoes to hold the grip on rocks while climbing. Kids love to adventure

MacGregor Point Provincial Park is a diverse natural area located along the Lake Huron shoreline, offering visitors a wide range of outdoor activities and events throughout the year. The park features a well-equipped visitor center, multiple campgrounds, hiking trails, a beach, playgrounds and pet areas. It is also an ecologically diverse habitat for many carnivorous plants and bird species.
We stayed here over the Family Day Long Weekend and loved every minute of it. The skating trail was a lot of fun and we enjoyed 2 of the Snowshoeing trails !! Our site was private and spacious. The bathroom facilities were well kept and clean. The staff were friendly also. Lake Huron is a beautiful lake and so magical with all the ice. Port Elign is a cute place as well and very close to the campground ( Walmart and other businesses are there) I can't wait to come back soon!

A nice family friendly camping provincial park. A clean park with plenty of campsites. A nice bike route that goes from one end of the park to the other. A well protected beach cove with clear water and a big playground nearby. A few hiking trails, from boardwalk paths to rough forest terrain. There's a small visitors center to explore. The park store is well located in the middle of the park.

Great park; visited in the winter before really any snow so we got good use of all the trails. The park staff is amazing, so friendly and super knowledgeable. The trails are well maintained and well marked and the work put into the trails through the “Friends” is phenomenal. I’ve hiked interpretive trails before within Algonquin and other trail systems however the work and detail put into this park is great. Thanks so much!
Just pay attention to what’s open during your season; the washroom at the visitor centre is open during the down season!

Lovely place to visit during winters. Yet to visit it during other seasons. The snow covered trees makes the park look absolutely stunning!! There's even a ground made for ice skating. One can get to see variety of dogs since there is also a dog park in the same place. If the weather is good, it's like a cherry on the cake since the park looks even more beautiful on a sunny day

Spent a weekend here in one of the cabins, and they're incredible! Clean, nice, well insulated, and very spacious. The park itself is very nice, lots of hiking trails available and a fairly nice beach. Loses one star because the bathrooms (at least the ones near our camp) were not nice and had a permanent sewage smell.

Fabulous park! The day use beach is beautiful white sand and dog friendly, the campers beaches were all rock and not as nice. We camped in Huron and the site was large, flat, had a lot of privacy, and an older comfort station. We'll come back but probably try to get a site closer to the day use beach as it was the only one that was nice for swimming.

In winter my husband and I stayed in a cabin and it was absolutely amazing. I'm used to tent camping in winter, this was luxury!
There was a propane fireplace that heated our cabin within minutes and if anything it was too hot a few times and we had to open a couple of windows. The beds were more than comfortable and very sanitary. The small fridge was perfect for our needs.
We enjoyed a nice fire outside at the pit in the evenings and I went for a polar plunge in the lake. Cannot wait to return!

Great trails and lovely beach. The facilities were clean. Customer service was great. We stayed in a Yurt and it had everything we needed (electricity, indoor hearing, propane bbq and stove, comfortable bunk beds).

My daughter and I spent the May long weekend there, and we really. In spite of it being a long weekend it never felt overcrowded. The people we song we're all friendly. And this included a cross-section of cultures. Trails were easy to follow. Most trails were both cyclable as well as walkable. The beaches were clean, in fact the whole park was very clean. The only critique I really had was for the younger staff. I think they forget that while they're on duty, they are being watched by all campers. Goofing around or behaving unprofessionally can be done I a staff area but never in places like the shower areas where campers are waiting to get in. Nor should this be the case in camping areas. Older staff clearly understood this, for example in the store.

Very nice park, nice private campsites, great scenery, good hiking trails. I just wish their trail heads and routes had more signage at each trail. You will need the map they give you on admission for every hike otherwise it leaves you guessing a bit.

Excellent park with clean facilities. This is one of the few parks where if you visit once , you will visit again and again. Most of the camp grounds are separated from the other very nicely . The park is pet friendly and you will find many of the campers with their pets. Children will love to play in the play ground and the beaches are also very quite and fun to sun bath

Great camp sites for the off season, plenty of nice hikes and a campground host so you can buy wood in the off season without trekking all the way back to the front office. In the summer, swimming can be a bit slimy near the shore but clears further out. Check out the self guided forest therapy hike on the first part of the tower trail.

We had an absolutely wonderful time renting a cabin here. We’ll definitely be back again next winter. Cabins were clean, warm and cozy. The park is gorgeous and we lucked out with the perfect weather.

Nice beach, great sunsets, lovely trails, excellent cycling park, campsites are large and mostly private, staff was friendly. Got it right with separate trailer fill/dump stations. Should be Ontario Park standard. Comfort station was clean and the oak veneer stall paneling is a nice touch. 😉 Just hate to take away one star for the terrible location of the hydro posts for electrical sites. I understand why they do it. It's more economical. But you'll need 60 feet of cord for most sites.
Chris Whaley — Google review
We spent a weekend camping here. Had the most privacy of any provincial park campsite we've ever been to. Felt like you were alone in the woods. Facilities were clean and well marked. The sunset from the beach was beautiful. The staff we all super friendly and eager to help. Didn't do much in the park as we spent most of the weekend at the grotto, but still a fantastic place.

One of the best Provincial Parks we have been to. Our site (167) was private and level. On the day we were there it was quiet enough although the sites were full of families with young children. The beaches are probably too far for most people to walk carrying stuff, so you'll want to drive, but there is plenty of parking next to the beach. Sunset Point is worth the walk. The best beach is the day use one, which is absolutely delightful on a sunny day, and totally doggie friendly. It also has one of the few comfort stations with light and heat and flushing toilets. This is important because most of the other toilets are vault toilets, only suitable for use in an emergency!!!

One of our most favourite provincial parks in Ontario. Booked on a whim and now we find ourselves spending at least a week here every summer. Spectacular sunsets, large and private sites, and a great proximity to Port Elgin and Sauble beach. If you're looking for a provincial park with exceptional beaches, plenty of electrical sites, and well maintained biking/hiking trails this is the one for you. Cannot say enough good things about this Park.
Beautiful stop on our vacation. The view is pretty breathtaking. The blue water is almost surreal

This is a nice place to visit in Lion's Head. However, it is quite crowded. It is best to access the lighthouse by stopping at the Lion's Head Beach Park and walking along the Bruce Trail. The lighthouse is small, but the water is quite clear. Swimming at the beach is also a must.

Quaint little spot to spend some time on a summer day. Parking can be a little tight when it gets busy, but there is plenty of space to walk along the grass or rocks. There are picnic benches for use if you want to have a gathering. Views of the area from here are quite nice.

Lighthouse itself is much smaller than expected, but it’s worth a stop for the gorgeous bay view. Small parking lot for boats, but other parking near by. Short beach I imagine is crowded in summer, but in the winter, so awesome to check out with no one around. It does get windy and bitter cold, but that’s what makes it even better!
