Love love love it! 🎣 fishing, trails for every person, gazebo, cabins, Marina, lake is beautiful and clean. Great birding Park and Grist mill with restaurant close by. Horse trails, walking trails and dog friendly as long as their on a leash and picked up after. Never too crowded and great place to explore or put a hammock up and chill. The man that works at the museum there is super nice and full of joy too! 😊

My husband and I love visiting this Park. We always stop to fish and sight see. The water here is always so beautiful and crystal cleaner.

Loved our stay in the east campground. Plenty of playgrounds for kids to play on, clean bathrooms, nice bath houses, and reasonable prices for primative, improved, or cabins.
The Dam was neat to look at, and the trails were nice with fall colors and great views since the trees are thinning out.

Clean trails. Camped here at West Campground for 2 days. Well worth the money! Very quiet. Bathrooms were really nice with Air Conditioning after the trip to Florida, it was a welcome relief. Beware that some of the sites have steep drops & RV campers really need to be prepared for the switch-back curves. Plenty of trees and cover here, East campground has no trees or cover.

We enjoyed an evening painting with Ranger Hayley. Tennessee State Parks offer a wide range of activities led by park rangers. Go to their website under events to plan your next adventure.

Just beautiful any time of day or night

Nice older campground. Campground has two, a east and a west. We stayed in the east. Bathroom was dated but clean. Grounds were clean . Drove through the west and it was packed in preparation of Halloween festivities. Lots of trails and history in the area. Plenty to explore. Would recommend the campground. Would personally recommend the east for larger rigs!

The first thing I noticed is how clean the park and lake were. Almost no litter anywhere. The cabin we stayed in was awesome. The staff was awesome.
1 star removed because none of the museum parts were open. It was the first week of June.
The trails are great. We saw plenty of wildlife and swimming from the boat was amazing.
You can't really access much of the lake unless you are on a watercraft or at their beaches because the banks are pretty much drop offs so if you don't own a boat or plan to rent a boat the lake is a lot less appealing.

Great Trails, beautiful water. If you park right beside the dam there is a little short hike storybook. It is made for kids as you walk the trail you pass pages of the book! Super cute. Once you pass this it connects to several other trails with lovely lake views. The visitor center was very helpful and clean. Lovely park.

Why to the Norris Dan State Park for my nieces wedding. We arrived at night and were welcomed with a beautiful view of the dam, all lit up at night. When we arrived at cabin 22, it was cute and inviting. We had a fantastic experience here and are already planning on returning next summer with the kids when we can spend more time hiking and exploring the lake.

Beautiful campground and very nice rangers. The bathrooms are super clean, amazingly so for a campground. Highly recommend this area.

Norris Dam State Park is a great place to spend the day enjoying historic buildings and nature. The dam is surrounded by woodlands in the valley and up on top of the cliffs. The Dam was built by CCC personnel, and the remaining pieces of their camps are in the woods. My wife and daughter both seem to enjoy the views and taking picnics and walks inside the park. We have rented a cabin and spent a relaxing 2 days in the park. The beds are comfortable and warm as well as the shower was quite nice. We have visited the grist mill and museum. I enjoy how the museums celebrate the lives of people who farmed and lived in the East Tennessee Valley. Overall, it was a fantastic place to hang out. Hopefully, I will get to return many times for more exploration and adventure.

We enjoyed the bird watching! Recommend using Merlin ID app to automatically identify bird calls.

We enjoyed this campground with all of its history. If you are camping in a bigger rig, the roads to both the east and west campgrounds are tight, winding and steep. There are some low hanging branches. The picnic shelters are super nice with flush toilets and very nice playgrounds. It does appear that there has been some delayed maintenance at the campground. The people that answer the reservation phones are SUPER nice and very helpful, especially Diana who helped us out of the issue we had.

Attended a wedding here, reception in the Tea Room, and stayed in the CCC cabins. Every detail was excellent, and the park was immaculately clean. Beautiful views and lookouts. We just wish we had more time to spend here!
The well-maintained Fort Loudoun State Historic Park is a replica of an 18th century British fort and offers trails for hiking, kayaking, and canoeing. The museum contains exhibits on the history of the fort and artefacts from its days as a military outpost. There is also a short video which is worth watching. The staff are friendly and informative.
I have been to Fort Loudoun twice in my life. Once as a young boy I went and had the displeasure of getting caught in the rain and getting quite ill. The second time, is my recent visit with my daughter. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed playing in the sunshine. We explored the Fort and museum soaking in the history of this area. My daughter most enjoyed the museum tent display and all of the different types of cannons that are in the park. The walking is gentle and easy and most areas are stroller accessible which means that with someone pushing them wheelchair bound individuals could visit the Fort and grounds. The historical film is educational but also a little sad just to warn potential viewers. Overall a great place to spend time. Plan to visit again soon.

What a beautiful State Park! Nice well maintained trails, amazing views! What a great way to end a hike down by the water at the Picnic Area! Stop by the Gift Shop get a map, staff informed and polite. A wonderful place to take the family and learn a bit of history. Get out and enjoy nature.

We really enjoyed visiting. The grounds are open to explore. The visitor center has a lot of educational history and artifacts. There are trails to walk and explore. Picnic tables and benches. I wish we had more time to explore that day. We will definitely be visiting again. The restrooms are in the visitor center, and the visitor center closes at 4:30 pm. Donations are encouraged, and it is definitely worth it to keep up this nice place.

Very well maintained replica of a fort! Located on a quiet and beautiful riverbank. Museum is full of history and artefacts, short video is awesome, don't skip it! Great staff.

This is a great historical state park. I forgot the scale of the British influence in the back country of the young U.S. The French and Indian War, Native Americans, trading, and war. Although the site was rebuilt, the details are great and what is really nice is examples of how the place may have been furnished with barracks bunks, barrels for food, blacksmith and many other buildings full of stuff. Also, there was a ton of trillium flowers blooming. It was a little to early for the may apples
Dale Jr McConnell — Google review
Was a fun little outing for the family. We showed our daughter the old buildings people used to sleep and work in. Would love to see it in spring or fall.
Bobby Montgomery — Google review
I was expecting the buildings to actually be from the 1700s. But they were rather historically accurate replicas. Still cool, but not as cool as if they had been original.
The museum (Visitor Center) was closed when we arrived, so we didn't get to see that part of the Park. But we did get to experience some of the walking trails. They were very nice, and a pleasure to walk on!
Overall, it was a good experience. I recommend it to anyone, local or tourist, who enjoys history. I certainly enjoyed it!

I have been in Knoxville for 12 years and never knew this place was so great. They really do a fantastic job with things there. Take the kayaks out around the area. Beautiful views, especially of the Smokies in the morning.
Some of the best park staff too!!

This dog friendly historical fort is the very best I've ever visited in my life, and my father, a history teacher, dragged me to A LOT of forts in my lifetime. The geography is stunning, the fort itself is beautifully rebuilt according to historical details. You can walk into each building, and get a feel for the quarters and facilities. The interior of the buildings is immaculate and sturdy. All structures are well maintained, the grounds are clean, and the views are gorgeous. Dogs are welcomed and accommodated. The museum is unique, intriguing and features a beautiful collection of artwork and artifacts. The rangers are educative, outgoing, personable, and happily answer any questions. They even let you bring a leashed dog into the museum! I am so thankful for such a lovely interactive experience that my children and dog could enjoy!

Small museum that provides insight into an historical American Indian figure. Learned a lot about Sequoyah in an easy to consume format of exhibits, videos, and placards. Picky's Recommendation: if you're exploring the history of East TN this should be on your list.

I was looking for somewhere to take outdoor spring pics and came across this beautiful outdoor area. Great place for a picnic or walk along the river. I did not go into the museum but will make a trip back in the future.

Great place to bring the kids, plenty of videos and interactive activities for everyone to participate in. Outside grounds are beautiful and upkept well. 5 dollars entry fee for adults, but they offer discounts for triple A and seniors. Kids under 12 are free. Tables outside in the shade with views are a great place for lunch! Gift shop was reasonably priced and labeled nicely. Facility was clean and comfortable! Come have a great day

Well-designed museum with interesting interactive displays. Traces the amazing life of the great Cherokee thinker & inventor. Allow 60-90 minutes to explore the exhibits. Beautiful setting.

I stopped in on a weekday and had this informative museum to myself. The exhibits are perfect; not too detailed and not too superficial. It is very much worth at least 90 minutes of your time.

The museum was great place nice and very put together. We went there for the cherokee festival today . It was great. Food was wonderful all the arts and crafts booths was wonderful. Got to talk to several people that have come here. So much history here.

Our trip began with a spontaneous trip to the Sequoyah museum. The museum is off in a space of its own surrounded by nature and a lake or two. Upon entering the museum I was immediately stunned by how beautiful it was. The museum takes you through not only history, but through his entire life work and what his legacy is. Truly remarkable. I suggest bringing a snack to eat out on the lawn. Also, while you are there take a look at the burial mounds and cabins.

Sequoyah famous for teaching his people how to read and write in Cherokee. Another great person that made history and he also gave me a message at the end of his big portrait he said that I can also make something that will be useful or change anything that will help others

I took my four children there and we had a great time. Educational and we learned many interesting things. You walk through at your own pace. They have the burial mound out back of the museum and we stopped by the gift shop on the way out. Price was affordable for our tickets and reasonable on gift items.

We had visited the museum once before in the past and we were very impressed. The museum is not huge, but very nicely done. We learned a lot about Sequoyah and the Cherokee people.
Today we went to the Cherokee festival. It was very educational and fun. They had quite a few vendors, displays and activities. Yet again, we learned even more of the Cherokee people.
It is definitely worth a visit, both for the museum and the special events.

A touch out of the way, but inexpensive admission and yet so full of information. Tragic how we've treated those whose land we stole and appalling how we used them to win wars. Absolutely worth a stop.

This was a great road schooling stop for us! Very friendly staff, interactive displays and outside buildings too. Great lesson about an important man not only to the Cherokee Nation, but in American history. The cost was very reasonable.
Cruising with the Clemons — Google review
Very nicely updated. We were here a number of years ago, and while nice, it felt like something from the 70s or 80s. They have done a great job with the new displays, and it is a very effective telling of the story of Sequoyah and the impact he made. It was very hot and hazy, so we did not tour the grounds again this time, but it is a very nice piece of land and you could easily spend the day on site.

An excellent presentation of the life of this highly accomplished individual. Great exhibits and lots of books to choose from in the gift shop.
Hiking trails & campgrounds in a 717-acre park comprising forests, wetlands & diverse wildlife.
Definitely one of my favorite parks, clean, safe. Over 700 acres of park land with a lake, walking trails, picnic tables, and restrooms. Outdoor activities, basketball, tennis, softball, flag football. Camp Grounds, near a great restaurant in the park located in Caryville Tennessee surrounded by mountains less than a mile off interstate.

Very nice park with mostly paved walking trails.
Did a drive by of the camping area and most sites are too close for our liking. Some sites are on the water.
The playground looked nice and well cared for. Little Free Library is here.
Storybook Trail around the lake is super cute.
The ladies room closest to the lake were horrible. 3 stalls but 2 were wrecked and didn't flush.
Lynda Erickson — Google review
Very beautiful campground right off 75. The roads and many of the sites are tight. We had reserved site 4 without ever being here and we were so thankful the ranger let us change with no issues after getting here since it wasn't crowded. It was way too small and so unlevel we would not have been able to unhook our fifth wheel. Ranger was awesome, they bring firewood to your site if you want to purchase some. Lots of trails, playground, and things to do. The con is they don't have sewer but they do have a dump station.

Noone crowded up together by play areas. Sidewalks reach to each pavilion.Rangers seem very friendly and knowledgeable of area and wildlife they seem to always be close by and very aware of everyone in the park or on bike tracks which made me myself feel very safe , their great lil floating dock where myself or children can conveniently fish from while remaining enclosed from open water sitting safely on bench, they have seasonal boat and paddle boat rentals as well as tackle and paddle boards and boats both .. bathrooms always clean and supplied as well as warm and we'll lit.

Cove lake was a very nicr park. There is a long paved trail there that is perfect for a stroll or a short bike ride. They have a kayak ramp and campground as well. It was not too crowded when we went and the scenery is beautiful.

Gorgeous campground! They have full hookups and we had a great experience. We stayed right by the lake so we got to fish from the campsite. The view was absolutely gorgeous. The lake was extremely peaceful and everyone around was really nice. We didn't stay long since we were passing by but it's definitely a place to go back to and fully enjoy the hikes and activities.

For those considering an overnight stay on your way to your destination, or to take advantage of Cove State Park's beautiful Campground, get ready to experience some of Tennessee's best when it comes to nature and camping. I've been coming to Cove State Park campground since the mid 70s. Yes, 40 years ago, Cove State Park was part of my earliest childhood memories. And here I am, March, 2022, 40 years later, and this beautiful park brings back all the warm and fuzzy, sentimental feels when life seemed a lot happier and times were a bit easier. This campground has everything you need to enjoy a memorable camping trip. From the sheer beauty of the lake itself, to all the park's amenities. Enjoy the picturesque 606 acres of nature, to walking/bike trails, to wildlife, to fishing, to ore powered boats, and last but not least, the best (level) campsites equipped with grills, fire-pits for the best nighttime camp fires, to picnic tables, and just beautiful scenery. It even has swings and playgrounds for the little ones, and bathrooms equipped with hot showers. You can't go wrong here. It's just the perfect place to create memories and enjoy your camping experience. I can't say enough about this place. I'm so glad it's still here.

Very laid back experience. Enjoyed the bike trail. We were there during a week with a lot of rain, but still enjoyed the beautiful views of the surrounding area. Showers were not the cleanest, but I guess you can expect to have some creepy crawlers out in nature. We also did the kayak tour with Roby, which was very enjoyable.

Good place to visit during fall! We visited this place in beginning of October, colors were almost there. I recommend to visit this place by end of October. The colors were good as we go to the top. But, once we crossed TN and entered NC on the top, there were no leaves. So I recommend to start taking the skyway from tellico plains instead of Robinsville, NC.

Super place! The attendant was very knowledgeable and gracious...made us feel right at home. We got a map of the area (Cherohala Skyway) and a brief overview of it. The gift shop had some great looking shirts to buy, but best of all, there were some locally made items to purchase. We selected an item made by a local potter (Mudslingers) that will make a quality, unique gift for a friend. They also have a nice little area for a picnic lunch or snack out front.

Start at the Cherohala Skyway Visitors Centerin Tellico Plains, TN. Absolutely beautiful fall colors!!!! Stay on the TN side for the most color at this time. When crossing over to NC, the trees had lost their leaves or color had passed due to higher elevation as of this writing. Several places to pull over for pictures or picnics at the picnic areas. Be respectful of others as you park or gaze at the beauty so others can also have their turn!!

When we lived in Chicago, people would make a pilgrimage to Michigan each autumn to "see the colors." While quite beautiful, that experience pales in comparison to East Tennessee and the Cherohala Skyway. The drive was blissfully peaceful, and the views breathtaking, spectacular. Y'all probably have one or two weekends left. This is a must see to experience the splendor of God's creation.
Vince Greco — Google review
Never got a chance to go in. We were greeted in a not welcome way in the parking lot as soon as we pulled in. Was plenty of parking spots open and someone told us right as we pulled into a parking spot and ready to go in if we could move because they were saving room for a trailer. We were there in the morning of 11/5/23. We had never been this way and made it park of our fall drive. This was our first stop coming from 2hr, 40mins away. After we were not greeted so welcome we just left. Maybe don’t stop here on a weekend and only on a week day or only if there is no cars in the parking lot then maybe stop in. Sadly we won’t be back this way.
Henri (Hank) — Google review
Beautiful ride in the Miatas! The views are amazing. We went a little too early for the colors on the trees but it is still breath taking. My only complaint was the dual sport bikes passing on double yellow lines! There's a posted speed limit of 40. The car in front of me was doing that and I counted 7 bikes that pasted and squeezed between us and then passed each of us, we were three and the car in front of us made 4. We didn't let it ruin our day though! Still worth the ride! Start in Tellico Plains and end coming across the Dragon! Be sure to wave at the cameras! Have fun and be safe!

Museum offering educational & interactive displays exploring energy, with a focus on nuclear power.

frederick b — Google review
I never had the chance to visit the museum in its previous location, however I can reinforce previous reviews that say this museum is very small. It's also hard to tell what age group this museum is catering to. The front half of the museum is very wordy, mature, and packed with information. The back half features many interactive displays obviously geared towards children. It seems like it would make more sense to have more interactive, kid-friendly displays throughout, rather than packed in the back of the museum.
The staff at the museum seemed very friendly and knowledgeable, with some members being long-term residents and/or employees in Oak Ridge with firsthand experience related to the exhibits in the museum. One staff member approached us multiple times to share anecdotes relating to Oak Ridge, which was nice and unexpected!
Overall, I liked the musuem. However, it was small and didn't have as many artifacts and relics as I had hoped. Unfortunately there were a lot of exhibits that only had paragraphs on the wall to read and didn't include the physical objects that really catch your eye and hold your interest.
If you're looking for a museum exclusively relating to Oak Ridge or the Manhattan Project, I think the K-25 History Center down the road is slightly better, as it's roughly the same size and manages to pack more information and more artifacts into the museum. But if you're in the area and looking for things to do, it can't hurt to visit both as they both have their strengths and weaknesses!
Jacob Boissonnault — Google review
Incredibly small, but the fee for entry isn't terrible at $10.00. You could absolutely see everything they have here in less than one hour. There are not a lot of actual relics, but they have a wide variety of 3D printed replicas of items of interest. Weekdays are full of school field trips so be prepared for a bit of noise if you visit during those times.
Brian Savage — Google review
Super nice and clean little place. The activity areas were nice (although some things were broken). The portions about the history of Oak Ridge and the atom bomb were interesting, but honestly, nowhere near as good as the old museum. My kids missed seeing all of the bombs that used to be there. They would love to go back however.
Amber Hyde — Google review
Enjoyed this place. And a 3D printed Jeep. Come on. Informative.
Manhattan project. I believe the bomb saved 1000s of lives.
Steven Stacey — Google review
The American Museum of Science and Energy is a fantastic place that is just jam packed with information, displays, and interactive features throughout - all related to science and energy contributions that the Oak Ridge National Laboratory were instrumental in making. The amount of information will keep you there for a couple of hours, and there are some games and such in the back that could keep you there longer. It's relatively inexpensive and well worth the admission price. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I'd highly recommend this museum.
Jon Monahan — Google review
A neat and fun place to learn about nuclear energy and science. Several good hands on exhibit options.
You won’t be bored and will learn and have fun at the same time. Fascinating and informative video worth viewing. Learn about nuclear submarines and neutron detectors, and have some fun with Archimedes Screws. Learn more about the Secret City and life during WWII.
Exhibits are well laid out, and a lot of time and money was put into this museum and it shows. Gift shop has all sorts of interesting items for sale as well, most reasonably priced. Bring in a few quarters to play the pinball machine. See an entire Army Jeep completely made on a 3D printer (how did they even do that?) as well as a small car and an old robot. Such a unique mix of items that will keep you entertained as you explore the museum. Don’t let the fact that it is at the end of a mall fool you. This place is large and has something for everyone and very reasonably priced to enter. Even if passing through at least put this museum on your list.

This was inexpensive and informative stop! It's small, but don't let that fool you. There is a lot to look at and try.
We gave the robotic arms our best shot and tried the brain games in the back. I wish I had taken a pic of the periodic table of games. It was such a fun room!
All the examples of 3D printed objects were neat to see too.
Can you imagine keeping an entire city secret in today's connected society?!

Chaperoned my son's kindergarten field trip to the children's museum. This is a cute little local children's museum with a lot of interesting things to see and do. Admission also includes the Manhattan project museum which I found quite interesting. All in all this is a fun little trip if you're looking for something inexpensive to do.

Great place to take your kids to explore, learn and play! There were so many fun rooms and my kids had a blast. They especially loved the giant doll house, the water room, and the rocket ship. We plan to bring family next time they come to town.

I found this place to be kind of goofy. It is part Children's Museum part National Park Service. Your park pass is no good here and I wasn't interested in paying for a Children's Museum. I really wanted to see the prefab house they have that housed Oak Ridge workers during World War II, but was not open for visitation. So I walked next door to Highland Park went to the back and took a picture from there.

Entertaining for kids but definitely showing its age. The building dates back to the 1940s and was a school back then. Plenty for kids to engage with but more play than learn--not that that's a bad thing. The colocation with the Manhattan Project National Historical Park visitor center (TN) adds an extra level of interest for history buffs. Even so, while interesting, it's nothing to write home about. Picky's Recommendation: If nice outside, enjoy the sunshine and visit here on a rainy day (which is what we did).

Great place for learning and playing. I brought 4 kids 10 and under by myself and they all enjoyed themselves with the learning play and with all the many different types of exhibits and activities. If you or your kids like history or really any other activity then this is a good place for you. Tickets were cheap - adults $10 children( 3+) $8 and children under 3 free.

Great historical theme for the kids to play at and adults to see

Very unique children's museum! It is housed in an old elementary school and they use the school room layout brilliantly to house different-themed rooms. There are some nice sections on the Oak Ridge National Lab's Manhattan Project contribution (which is what brought us to the museum to begin with). Our favorite section was the Appalachian heritage displays and the model train.

It was a great place to make kids understand the science and geopolitical importance of the nuclear bombs. I am fascinated the way NPS manages to curate sites for specific audiences, in this case, children

A great place for kids and parents in Oak Ridge.
Oak Ridge has a rich history from its WWII starts as a secret city. You can find maps of the various sites to visit at several locations throughout the city. We picked up one of these and the Children’s Museum was one of the first and closest places that we came across. It is in the heart of Oak Ridge and is a true haven for kids eager to explore, learn, and have a blast. The entrance has a foyer where you are greeted by staff that offer suggestions and collect a fee to visit the museum. This is really designed for kids so adults may find few parts of it as interesting as the children will. The museum's interactive exhibits are very nice and are designed to provide children with hands-on experiences that engage all their senses and show a history of the area. From the fascinating Science Lab, where budding scientists can conduct experiments, to the colorful Arts and Crafts Corner, where creativity flows freely, every corner of the museum offers a unique experience. The museum does a very good job of incorporating education into the exhibits. The exhibits focused on STEM fields, history, and nature, children can broaden their knowledge while having a fantastic time. In conclusion, the Children's Museum of Oak Ridge is a gem in the realm of interactive exhibits. If you have children this is probably a good place to visit.

Awesome place for families. Tickets were pretty cheap. Interactive exhibits. There is a life size doll house for kids along with a jungle boardwalk, riverway water play, historical dress up, pretend grocery store, space ship, puppet theater, and play classroom. Could spend hours here. I enjoyed it as much as the kids. Good bathrooms and friendly staff. Also, connected to national park site and has a playground outside.

This place just keeps going and going! We went with our 2 and almost-4 year olds and they had a blast. Lots of fun exhibits, both educational and play based. Our favorites were the life-sized doll house, the spaceship to mars, and the farm-to-table play area. This is very reasonably priced for how long you could spend here. Also, if you have a national parks passport book, bring it for some stamps at the front desk from the Manhattan Project info desk.

Nice little museum. Not somewhere I’d travel hours to go see, but if you’re nearby, it’s certainly worth a trip. Great place for kids but a lot to learn as an adult as well. Would highly recommend!
Best place to be with the best people. Great wine and the atmosphere is unmatched. Be here or be square. You won't find a better view of some TN mountains. The trees are having new babies and it makes it that much better! Great wine. Such peaceful views. Casual and "be who you are" atmosphere. Love it here.

Great experience, the staff was very polite. I enjoyed the wines we tried very much. The tasting room is a bit small but great experience. I wish they had their logo stemless wine glasses for souvenirs but they were sold out when we were there.

My husband and I stopped here on our way to Mississippi from Massachusetts. What a nice winery! Paulette was very nice and our stop was a totally great experience. If we didn't live so far away we would be sure to visit this winery often. The Peach wine was like biting into fresh fruit!! Great flavor. They have a mix of wines so if your in the area this is a must stop!

OMG! Add this to your Tennessee wine hopping list! Award winning? Yes! Enjoyable? Yes! Worth the trip? Oh yeah!
I had a few wineries on my list during my trip and Tennessee Valley Winery was on the list. I'm so happy I visited. I decided to visit a tad after opening so it was just me at the time. Let me say this Paulette is a gem!
She is such a great hostess and so full of great information. I could chat with her for hours! I tell you her tasting suggestions is the reason why I left with a 12 bottles.
And although I only met Jenny for a smidge, she was just as welcoming as well. Hands down a wine visit for all wine lovers.

Tennessee Valley Winery is amazing! We are members of Harvest Host and they hosted us for a night in our camper. We were on the road from FL to TN and we were trying to stay ahead of the huge tropical depression last week. We have a 3 and a 6 year old and needed a place to sleep for the night. Jenny kindly let us stay at the winery last minute! She is so thoughtful and left us the bottle of wines and a personal note, as well as a bunch of goodies for the kids at the door. We cannot wait to try the wine we purchased and look forward to visiting again in the future!

We were hanging around knoxville and thought grabbing some local wines to go with our steaks at the cabin we rented in Pigeon Forge. We called ahead to make sure that we were able to get in the lady seemed pleasant. We drove about 20 mins out of the way to get there. We all got out (4 of us) excited to try and buy some local wines. When we got in we greeted the lady playing a game on her phone. She rolled her eyes. We asked if we could try some wines she said yes over there, there room is small but adequate. So my wife finally asked if we could get some info on the wines the lady again roled her eyes got up and said heres the list they go from sweeter to dryer. We picked a few some of them tasted like the bottle needed switched out because it had died and were served in a communion cup. We didn't enjoy the wine or the service so we bought some beef jerky and left wouldn't recommend unless you feel like inconveniencing some woman and leaving needing a glass of water.

Lost Sea Adventure is a cave tour and boat trip attraction that offers visitors an underground lake to explore. The cave network is well-maintained and the guides are knowledgeable about the formations, making for an interesting experience. The walk up is not too bad and the tour offers stops for breathers, which makes it more comfortable for those who are not used to walking long distances. The boat ride is also very cool and something not often seen in tourist attractions.
Nice to place to explore some cave spots. The guided tours were awesome with lots of information. Don't miss the lake ride under the caves. Claustrophobic need to avoid this. Visited the place en route from Atlanta to Smoky Mountain. A good stop with rest and a visit. Water proof shoes/boots are recommended for the visit.
For the guides: Provide required time for people across all age. Felt being rushed which restricts the time to enjoy the awesomeness of the place.

A very unique place to visit with a colorful history. The boat ride onto the lake is definitely the highlight of the tour and what anyone really goes there to do. Cave system over all was a lot smaller than expected and shorter than others I've been to unless you pay more to do the wild tour. Still an enjoyable way to spend an hour and worth a visit.
Jeremy Baughman — Google review
Tour: This cavern has the cool distinction of being America's largest underground lake. The tour lasts about an hour and a half, and your guide tells you about its history. Most of the tour is on uneven terrain through the cavern, and there are some inclines. There are lights everywhere, but it's a cavern, so it has low lighting. The boat ride was too brief, but I otherwise loved it. It was such a tranquil experience. The water is calm and still, and the fish were fascinating. Our tour guide was funny, but it was difficult to hear him at the back of the group, and he kept a fast pace through the tour. You couldn't spend much time stopping and enjoying the amazing cave features. I wish they gave you more time for the tour, but otherwise, a great experience.
Restrooms: Their restroom building was under construction when we did the tour, but they had a restroom trailer that was very nice, clean, and well-kept.

This cave and lost lake were absolutely amazing. The tour guide was very informative and gave a great deal of history on the findings and the cavern and the lake.

Lovely cave and boat experience. Clean facility and great guides. It didn't feel as over commercialized as Ruby Falls, so that was a nice touch. Loved the addition of artists like the glass blower and the gem panning as well.

This was an amazing experience! Our tour guide, Angela, was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The hike back up was no joke! But there are benches that the guides will let you rest on. Very open spaced for those who are claustrophobic.

What a cool experience! Very cool cave with really neat features I haven’t seen anywhere else but the crowning achievement is the lake. It is beautiful and well lit. The walking is a bit steep so this may be one to sit out if you might have trouble with something like that but it wasn’t hard for me or any of my children.
Asheli Godfrey — Google review
Great tour to take if you are looking for a cave tour. Casey and Ashley were excellent tour guides that knew a lot about the formations and answered all of your questions. The walk up had a decent grade at parts but not too bad. They do stop for a couple of breathers on the way up to give you a spot to catch your breath. Overall not too bad of a walk and highly recommend. The boat ride was really cool and not something you commonly get to do. Will definitely have to come back some time for their spelunking tour.

As a local to Tennessee we have never visited these caves until today. We had age group 11-73 and we all had a great experience. The online booking was a breeze and so was the check in process.
Our guide for today was Shay (I hope this is her name) and she was amazing. She was so friendly and her sense of humor was great, actually amazing.
The walk down was pretty easy but the walk back up is pretty difficult for older people. It’s the incline that was tough for my mom and others I saw that had to stop numerous times.
The lake at the bottom is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful down there. The water is crystal clear.
I would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this adventure! The cave is so rich in history and beautiful. The lake was my favorite. I will definitely be doing this again. This cave is so big. You will get a good walk inside but not too strenuous. The guide stopped frequently so there’s plenty time to rest. Have fun!

For those like me who didn't know, you take a tour with a small hike through a nice cool cave to a small boat ride then back. We got Angela and her "twin" as our tour guides and they both made sure that we had a good time. They have a small glass blower shop filled with beautiful hand blown customizable items, gift shop, and an ice cream shop that was closed at the time we went.

We had a great time today. You want to have a great tour ask for Skyler. He is very informative and funny. Keeps the tour interesting. Definitely wear non skid shoes. Certain places were slippery. We liked the glass blowing place. Lots of beautiful items to purchase. The general store wasn't to impressed. A lot of the same thing and their mining bags were a little pricey. We were looking forward to the ice cream shop but it was closed. Not much else to do which was kinda a bummer.

We have driven past the signs on I75 for this place for years and finally stopped to check it out. It is amazing! Well worth checking out. Skyler, our tour guide, did an amazing job. The boat ride on the underground lake is really cool.
Note: the walk down to the lake is a little steep and slippery. You can sit out that part, but then you miss the boat ride.

The kids truly enjoyed it. The guided tour greatly enhanced our experience, and we learned a lot from our guide, Emma, who is both funny and knowledgeable. We visited during the kids’ spring break, and many time slots were sold out. I recommend purchasing tickets in advance during peak seasons.

Just happened to see a sign and decided to detour and check it out. What a unique and fun experience! It’s quite a hike once you get started but if you’re able to walk inclines, you’ll be fine. Our guide Devin was fun and very well informed on the cave history etc. and the lake was amazing. If you’re passing through and have a couple hours to kill, go for it.

We had a blast at the Lost Sea! It's mostly a walking tour that takes about an hour and a half. The boat ride was 10 or 15 minutes at the end and there was a long climb back to the entrance of the cave. The cave is huge! Very cool! My kids are 5, 6, and 10 and all three had a ton of fun being in the cave. Be warned: if your kids are like mine, they'll get to the bottom of the cave and realize they need the bathroom...

I homeschool my 8 and 12 year old, and used this as a fun learning field trip. It was more touristy and busy than I had anticipated, but it didn't turn out to be a problem. The cave is impressive, and although I've lived in east TN for 15 years, I had never visited before. The tour guide was funny, well-spoken, and obviously knowledgeable on his facts. It kept adults and kids of various ages interested. I took a few notes in my phone while we toured and gave a little quiz to my kids after, and they both retained the information and enjoyed the adventure. The only heads up I wish I knew was the amount of walking on hills required. The walk down to the water they equate to a 7-story building in terms of grade difference. I'm a few months post partial knee-replacement, and although I was worried about the walking, I did just fine. Do wear grippy shoes though as the floors are worn smooth and would have been a bit slippery IMO without good sneakers. After the tour, I purchased a bag of rocks in the gift shop for the panning experience just because my kids had never done anything like that before. It was touristy, but fun for them. We have their treasures in the rock tumbler now.

This was such a beautiful experience! Our guide was informative and fun. The walk down into the cave and to the lake was breathtaking, especially if you love nature. The walk back up is no joke! Be prepared. Also, make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Specifically, ones you don't really care about. The red clay can and will destroy them.

Our tour guide, Eli, did a fantastic job showing us around the cave and telling us really interesting stories about its history. On the surface, there is also a very impressive glass blowing/works studio. Even though the site is pretty rural, there are nice big signs indicating where it is. We went in the fall, but this seems like a nice outing for ANY season.

Had a great guide named Skyler, he was young but very funny and knowledgeable, he answered any question we had about the cave, I was very impressed with him. The cave and underground lake were beautiful. The walk is moderate in places, the incline is equivalent to seven sets of stairs; up and down, so be aware. Also, because of the red clay, your shoes will get a bit stained. Totally worth it.

Anytime you have a chance to go into the earth, take it! Of course, if it's safe. This place is amazing as I'm sure many are. You take a little boat ride, walk about a mile in total and they even have expert level caves to explore outside of the guided tour.

I loved this place. Our guide, JD, was awesome and super knowledgeable! The boats are awesome and I would say this is an all around activity that is good for young children to adults! I would say the only hesitation is that you have to walk all the way to the bottom and then all the way back up and that is a bit tricky if you have mobility issues. Had a blast and will be coming again if we have more family in town!
24,000-acre park with a scenic observation deck, dense forest areas, hiking & tent campsites.
This is such a beautiful and well-maintained park. We stayed at Big Cove site 12 which has a nice large wooded area behind it. There are a wide variety of trails ranging from easy to difficult. It offers pretty much everything that GSMNP does without the large crowds. On most hikes, we only saw 10 to 15 people.

Absolutely loved this place...my whole family of 9, with a 10 person tent, an 8 person tent and a 3 person tent all fit on one campsite. We had a blast walking the trails, seeing the waterfalls...the campsite has a fire ring and a grill on them, so all you have to do is bring food to cook. The shower rooms/bathrooms were very clean. All the kids loved the playground as well as the creeks they could walk to. It was a great weekend get away for my little family. We definitely plan to go back very soon. Just FYI, cell service is not the best up there, I didn't mind at all getting a break from my cell. 😊

Did a hike up the Chimney Top trail starting at the ranger station. Spent one night at the beautiful Mart Fields Campsite. The trail is labeled difficult, which is very accurate, but a beautiful hike nonetheless. There was a rattlesnake on the trail between the chimneys, keep a sharp eye. Campsite was clean and quiet. There is a spring nearby, but it is seasonal and didn't yield much water this trip. Day 2 hiked down the Spicewood Trail, very shaded in the morning.
I checked in with the rangers prior to heading out, got some good information about the trails and the status of water sources.

Hiked a 6.5 mile loop. Took us 3.5 hrs, 1006 elevation gain, 19,000 steps. We planned the hike after a big rain so we could see waterfalls during our hike. It did not disappoint. Parked at the north Old Mac trailhead but walked 1 mile on the park road to the Panther Creek and Old Mac campsite trailhead. Headed up to Debord falls then right on a connecting trail to the north Old Mac trail, then down to our vehicle. Many water crossings. Saw wild Javelina hogs (2 adults and about 12 young ones) rooting. They ran away when they saw us. Excellent January 26th hike. Around 50° overcast.

This park was absolutely beautiful. The sites are close together, so not much privacy, but the bathrooms with showers were exceptionally clean, and the surroundings are so beautiful they'll take your breath away. There were several hiking trails available, though we weren't able to take advantage of them since we stayed only one night. The rangers patrolled a few times and were very friendly to talk with. Camp was completely quiet after hours. Very dog friendly. There were picnic tables scattered all over the place on the road in, a playground, and a volleyball court as well. I highly recommend this park! Oh, don't be surprised.. there is a prison you'll pass on the way in, but we didn't feel uncomfortable at all.

We stopped for a quick dairy tour and dessert pit stop. Tours include ice cream with paid admission of $4.50 Adults and $3.50 children... tours are on the hour and lasting 45 minutes. The staff we encountered hardly smiled and was not overly friendly... not sure if they were having an off day. (minus the 1 star) otherwise it was worth the stop. Unfortunately no photography is allowed while on tour. On the way out we did encounter a fairly young staff member that went out of her way to say thank you for coming today and come back and see them! Also inquired if we enjoyed the tour and desserts...

Quality is usually what comes to mind when someone mentions Mayfield. Unfortunately quality is NOT how the tour started. While the tour is sufficient and complete it seems dated. The projection screen in the theatre needs repair. Some displays are faded and also apear dated. The only things that seem to have been updated are the gift shop and ice cream parlor.
The tour guide was knowledgeable and efficient. She was good. The main problem is with the dated, worn-out pre-tour facilities. Fortunately the ice-cream IS still quality and very delicious!
I WANTED to give 5 stars, but could not honestly do so. The dairy has changed ownership in recent years and unfortunately the tour no longer appears to be a priority. DFA (Dairy Farmers of America) acquired Mayfield in March, 2020.
Bring back Scottie Mayfield!

Make sure to take a walking stick. Wear good shoes and spray yourself really good with tick spray.

I did a walk to the homestead. Not much there but a wooden fence. There are information boards with pictures and info about the people that lived. I enjoyed reading a bit of history for that area. Walked down to the old Spring house too. Watch the small bridge over the water, its tilted and very slippery.

Rugby is a small town just east of the clear river and south of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Visitor center is beautiful with and historic look into the town and the Johnson Theater is also located in the center. Driving around the town you can see old homes and churches restored and easily photographed.

Glorious Fall day to walk around this quaint historic area. We enjoyed the trail behind the Visitors Center, just a little over a mile loop. It's a lovely forest area. We used a map from the Visitors Center and did our own self guided tour of the houses/buildings.

What we did get to see of this place was really cool, but I think one would benefit more from doing the guided tour than the self guided one. The self guided tour was a little confusing. We got lost quite a few times, and were limited to only seeing the outsides of many of the buildings since we were only doing the self guided tour. We did however, get to go into the printing press building and got to see a really cool demo of how newspapers were printed in the 1800s. If we go here again, we’ll definitely do the guided tour to really get the full experience of the place.
Restored courthouse with exhibits, photos & news clippings related to 1925 Scopes Monkey trial.
Strawberry festival cruise in was great. What a variety of what must be the owner's babies. Food offerings should please any appetite. Various crafters. Prices up which is no surprise. A flat of strawberries $40. They were excellent and huge

The famous Scope Trail museum is worth coming and seeing at this Court House. It was a working court house not that long ago where they held court as well as recording your Deeds, pay your property taxes, buy tags for your Auto. It's a great place to visit and always in May you have the famous Strawberry festival 🍓 going on all around with nightly events happening at the Courthouse. Rhea County has lots of things to do in it.

We enjoyed rural Tennessee for a Christmas family vacation. We stayed at a beautiful home that we found on vrbo. We were near Dayton and just north of Chattanooga. Dayton is a pretty little town with all of the amenities that we needed. We visited Copper Hill and the Ocoee River. We took a holiday train ride in Chattanooga and visited Lookout Mountain at night. We had a very nice time there and will return. Loved the area between Cleveland and Dayton. Nice people.

Fantastic experience. This is where the Scopes monkey trial was held so this is a bucket list item for me. Nice small museum in the basement and the courtroom is much as it was during the trial in 1925. Hardly anyone there and the courtroom was completely open. Nothing roped off. I was able to sit where Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan sat.

Construction, limited signage and little help from the information desk...but we did get to see the court room upstairs and the museum in the basement. An interesting history. It's a bit dingy and feels a lot forgotten, but absolutely worth a stop.
Campsites, hiking trails & picnic pavilions around a lake with a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course.
We stayed in one of their standard cabins in May and were surprised how quiet the park was even on a Sunday. The cabin is rustic just a few steps up from camping but has nice little details like a fireplace, bathroom and kitchen but I would recommend you bring a thicker blanket cause theirs are rather thin. The park itself is well kept and beautiful. Nice trails and on-site restaurant with fantastic southern food and hospitality. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

This is actually my second visit to the park. I really like this place because it's very serene and just so beautiful in nature and the best part is the viaduct bridge between the lake and waterfall. I was alone but this is a place best shared with the company of others. The Harvest restaurant is really a great place to dine especially with the view of the lake. Great place for camping as well. People also swim here as well. There's a visitor center when you drive in to provide information.

Stayed in a pet friendly deluxe cabin. It was dated, but very clean and had everything we needed. The park is beautiful with many walking trails. Staff is super friendly. Some information on the website is incorrect regarding hours of operation. Restaurant buffet was delicious and a great value. RV camping is available, as are cabins in several different price ranges. There is a rec hall available to rent for events and a swimming pool open seasonally. Will be returning soon!

Our 1st trip was 2022 camping and loved this state park. January 2023, we stayed at one of the restored CCC cabins. Very quaint and nice. The only complaint with the cabin (#2) is the fireplace. No matter how you started the fire it would smoke up the cabin unless you used basically 1 log in the very back of the fireplace. Love the trails and everything else about Cumberland Mountain State Park!

I just had a great time my sister and I just went because it's not too far from my home and she just moved here to Cookeville I live in Crossville. We went just for a little day trip and we had a great time lunch was great scenery was great and the weather was great if I was around Cumberland Mountain State Park anytime I would definitely stop by and check it out it doesn't take long to get out of the car and just look for a breath of fresh air.

Stayed at Cumberland Mountain with my wife’s extended family over Christmas week. The cabins were of a good size and comfortable, yet were in need of updates. The facilities like the tennis courts and basketball courts look like they haven’t been touched in 30 years too. Although it’s a state park, it’s not far from the grocery stores and restaurants in nearby Crossville. Hiking wise, it’s not really a ‘mountain’, but instead a little river/stream ravine that’s dammed into a manmade lake. I did the loop trail that followed the ravine and there were some interesting rock formations along the way. Aside from that, it’s not scenic like Fall Creek Falls or the mountains in the eastern part of the state.

We have been here a few times now and we love it. It is a nice peaceful place with lots of activities even though we were there in what would be considered the off season.
We stayed in the Mill House for a couple of days. It is a nice rustic place with lots of space. It would be a good place for families. It is a bit challenging for people who have a hard time with stairs, however. There is really no way into the Mill Hose without descending stairs and there are stairs inside as well.
It is a great place to be away from others, though, since you have a whole little section of the park to yourselves and a great patio view ( and out the windows) of the waterfall.
We will definitely be back to stay.

A lovely campsite. Everything is easy to find and depending on the campsite it's easy to walk to most of the main attractions and the camp store. The aviary is also a plus. There are plenty of great areas for pictures and firewood is very reasonably priced if you accidentally didn't bring enough. There were also plenty of fallen trees and branches to keep a fire going. The bathrooms were about what you'd expect from a state park, but not nearly as bad as a lot of the ones I've been to. It's not so much dirty as just old. It would be nice if more funds were allocated to update the bathrooms at state parks. My only complaint is that the restaurant buffet is really not phenomenal. For roughly the same price as golden corral the options are much more limited and not quite as good. The staff on the other hand is cheerful and helpful and no fault could be found in them.

Cabins are great very comfortable and warm on the colder days. The bedrooms are nice and the bathrooms are clean the only reason my review isn’t five stars is because the kitchens are a little outdated and aren’t the cabin I’m staying in has knives but they aren’t sharp and there is no sharpener and there’s no cutting board the stove is so old you set the temperature with a dial. And the plastic cooking utensils are melted and in need of replacement and lastly the right burner of our stove doesn’t work and they said they would send maintenance to fix it at 8 am the day after we got there and at the time I’m writing this it’s been 38 hours since they were supposed to come and they haven’t. There’s more good and mildly Annoying things I can say but for the sake of time I won’t overall a great place and worth a road trip

We camped here for one night in late November for one night. We came in without reservations and having arrived early, were able to register at the office before proceeding to our site. The first site that we were given was a somewhat difficult site to get into and the office was gracious enough to change our site to one that was an easy back in. It offered water and electric, but no sewer. What looked like sewer connection was the water shut off valve. There were some sites, but not many that offered sewer. Our site, 40, had some privacy on the driver’s side. The sites were generally close together, but at this time of year with with few campers, this was not an issue. There were site options available that had more privacy given where they were situated, but for us it did not matter. We had a nice fire here courtesy of another campers leftover wood. The site had a fire pit with grill, a BBQ grill, lantern pole and picnic table. We checked out the bathrooms, which were the nicest of any of the TN state parks we visited. They appeared to be more recently remodeled. The cell service was weak, but we were able to use at times. We have been to this park in the past to golf and to visit Homestead buildings. I would definitely return when it is better golfing weather. And to check out the restaurant.

This is a beautiful state park with nice walking/hiking trails and historic stone buildings. My favorite trail is the Pioneer trail. The long loop is about 4 miles and the short loop is 2 miles. There is a suspension bridge you can cross half way through the long loop (for the short loop option). The trail is easy to hike, but it has rocks and tree roots along the path. The rock formations, streams, and small bridges create a scenic walk. (If you prefer a paved path, there is a scenic short loop around Byrd Lake that is ADA accessible). There is a nice gift shop, aviary, and restaurant to check out as well. This park is an amazing place to go hiking, walking, birding, or kayaking.

Good wine poor service. After reading other reviews, maybe is was poor timing or the young lady helping us was having a bad day. But she made it fairly clear she wanted nothing more than for us to not be there. Was looking forward to a nice tasting and being able to learn a little about their wine. We tried our best to be polite and ask questions but she wanted nothing to do with us. Still bought a bottle, because again it was decent wine.

I love their Davenport Red. Can get the Davenport Red cheaper in Knoxville TN. I paid to taste test 10 of the wines. We were rushed thew our tasting, and three of the ones we pick were passed up because we were rushed so much. My husband said we just won’t go back. I said no I will give one more chance. He said I don’t think we should go back because we can buy their products, here where we live. I said I like going in case they have a new wine we can try. He feels like we should not go back. I said maybe they were in a hurry for us to leave. We can go one more time see if they do it again. Then we will stop going. I really love this place and enjoy going there. I hope maybe they were just having an off day. I ask this company not to start treating their customers rude like the places in the mountains do their customers. I enjoy this winery. I am reaching out because I do like this company a lot
This little gem is tucked in the beautiful landscape of East-Mid Tennessee. It’s between Knoxville and Nashville. The charming & rustic playhouse doesn’t do justice to the quality of the actors and stellar performances. We just saw “Murder on the Orient Express” and it exceeded expectations. Not only was the acting superb, the set designs and changes of scenery were impressive. All of the volunteers and staff there were so nice, welcoming and kind. The prices are very reasonable, with an average ticket price at $35.
(And while the bathrooms are a bit dated, they are very clean and have a second ladies room inside the theater.) While waiting for the show to begin, walk around the side and relax in the darling gazebo. We grabbed the schedule for year and plan to return. Plus there are free outdoor concerts in the summer!

This playhouse has been around for 57 years and is a regional favorite. They toughed out covid and are as successful as ever. On our visit, they featured Margaritaville. We got an opportunity to have our pictures taken with the cast. Pictures could not be taken of the play, but could of the facility.
This year, we attended the opening of All Shookup... A Musical Comedy. It was loosely based on Elvis featuring his hits. It was the funniest play I've seen in a while. It was well choreographed and performed. The Playhouse does a fantastic job with its performances. It continues to win grants and special funding and accolades from multiple sources. It is well supported by local business and arts enthusiasts. I recommend Cumberland County Playhouse for Arts first-timers and veterans.

My husband Ray and I attended a performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this afternoon at the playhouse and the show was phenomenal! Fall Creek Falls is a stunning 256-ft waterfall located in a forest, offering an overlook with a trail leading down to its plunge pool. As one of the most popular state parks in Tennessee, Fall Creek Falls State Park is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts. The park features waterfalls, virgin hardwood stands, gorges, cascades, and streams. Visitors can enjoy activities such as swimming at the waterfall, crossing suspension bridges, and camping under the stars.
Hands down one of my favorite hikes in TN. The waterfall is STUNNING. The walk to get to the bottom is a lot of stairs, but you don't have to walk down to enjoy the waterfall. (I still recommend it.) The scenic overlook point is a spectacular view, and usually a very quiet spot. Highly recommend.

Frome the moment you enter the park it is a beautiful place to visit. The trails and the water falls are amazing. The trail heads are all drivable. Once there get out and take an amazing trip though the woods. There will be different points throughout the forest to be able to see different water falls and different views of the water falls. All of the trails are marked and are easy to navigate. Once your done you can go back to the snack shack and have an awesome lunch . Very nice place to go with family and friends.

We’ve lived in the cookeville area for 3 years now. We’ve been to basically all the parks, falls and outdoor sites to see…my one question is…HOW HAVE WE NOT BEEN HERE BEFORE NOW?!?😂. This place is amazing. It’s so big, there are SO many different amenities, places to go, trails to hike, waterfalls to see, a lake, a pool…the list is so long. Not to mention if you come a few days after a heavy rain, the falls are INTENSE. When you get down to the bottom pool, the wind and power blasting you from the falling water is crazy refreshing. The hike to the bottom of the falls is short in distance, but takes a while because of the difficulty. There is no real path, your climbing on and over rocks the whole way up and down. But the trip there is scattered with a stream, massive rock outcroppings, overhangs, just pure beauty. The cafe at the park is kinda pricey for cafeteria food, but it’s a nice place to rest and refuel. They also have ice cream. We were only here for a few hours, and barely scratched the surface. This is our new go to local park. We will be sure to camp here and uncover everything it has to offer!

We enjoyed hiking here. The trail was rugged and some overlooks required scrambling but we had 4 kids ages 3 to 11 and they hiked the whole (the 3yo was carried a bit).
The park has some storm damage and there were several trees down on the paved multipurpose trail. Climb under walk around. It made the trail a little more fun in my opinion.

Beautiful waterfalls. I found it one day chasing waterfalls seeing how there are so many in this area and tennessee. I got here towards the end of the day so I will be happy to go back and hike the trail down to the basin.

The best falls at this park for sure. Just drive straight all the way from the park entrance to get to the Falls creek falls overlook area. There is a restroom on the left side. Walk past this to get to the overlook. The view from here is awesome if its not foggy. From here, the hike to the bottom of the falls is a steep descend. It is 0.4 miles to the bottom of the hike. It is marked “strenuous” because of the slippery steps, tree roots and boulders you have to get through. But take your time, and you will be fine. I took 20 mins to get to the bottom. Once you get to the bottom, the views are just stunning! You can swim at the bottom, or stand directly under the falls. There is also a few hiking trails from the bottom of the falls but i didn’t do it. The climb back is obviously harder, and just takes a lil more time. YOU CAN DO IT!

This park was BEAUTIFUL and well worth the multi-state drive it took to visit. From multiple, breathtaking waterfalls and rock formations to swinging suspension bridges and delicious takeout from their lakeside restaurant, this state park is now among our favorites in the Eastern United States. There were handicap accessible views of both main waterfalls, conveniently located (and clean) bathrooms, well posted and maintained hiking trails, and various picnic areas. There were several other available activities in the area as well, but we didn't have the time to experience those. (We chose to stay about an hour away in a historic cabin at Cumberland Mountain state park to save money). We can't wait to return and see the falls here again!

I recently had the opportunity to visit Fall Creek Waterfall State Park, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! One of the most remarkable aspects of this park is that it's absolutely free to enter. Upon arrival, we embarked on the woodland trail, which led us to the base of the falls. Although it presented a moderate challenge, it was definitely manageable for my family, who are used to the city lifestyle. The effort was entirely worthwhile, as the sight of the falls was breathtakingly beautiful. I highly recommend wearing water shoes. My kids were particularly thrilled with the opportunity to play in the waterfall near the nature center, creating memories they'll cherish for a long time. One of the highlights of the park is its numerous waterfalls and trails, which are suitable for both kids and avid hikers. It provides a perfect opportunity to introduce children to the wonders of nature while challenging experienced hikers to explore new paths.

Great state park! The woman at the counter of the gift shop was knowledgeable and personable. The shop was fine and had a few things to see inside. The gems, of course, are the waterfalls. Some of the overlooks aren't that great. But the waterfalls were amazing. And if you don't mind some stairs the very strenuous section that gets you to the bottom of the big waterfall is worth it (it isn't THAT strenuous but you can't be terribly out of shape - it's essentially like going down and back up 10-15 flights of stairs that aren't well made).

Highly recommend! Get outta that car and hit the trails! So worth every moment! The nature is beautiful the trails are well kept! Lots of fun for the whole family! The restaurant has an attentive staff and very friendly. And not highly expensive. Enjoy nature!

Fantastic state park with five beautiful waterfalls along very accessible trails or observation decks.... for all levels of fitness! We made the two and a half hour drive from Huntsville for the day and absolutely loved all the hiking, playground and very well kept state park areas. It was well worth the visit, and top of our parks list. We hope to return in the summer for more water activities and camping.

Absolutely beautiful park! Have traveled here twice, May 21 and May 22. There's a handful of trails of varying length and difficulty- all are worth it!! Lots of waterfalls and rock formations throughout the park. Lots of rocky stairs down to the base of the main waterfall- definitely a workout and should not be attempted in poor health but so worth it! One of my favorite parks of all time.

I absolutely love that Tennessee parks are free. What a wonderful way to be able to experience the great outdoors. We really enjoyed the snack shop and the visitor center was very informative! We hiked the woodland trail and the base of the falls. The base of Fall Creek Falls was strenuous but doable for an urban family and completely worth it. I recommend water shoes if you're wanting to explore the waterfalls. My kids loved playing in the waterfall behind the nature center. There was a golf course, a pool, snack shop, restaurant and many campgrounds as well. We will be back to try out camping, what a wonderful park!!!

Beautiful place with incredible views. Small trails that take you to a huge waterfall with crystal clear water and a lot of peace. You can cross an extremely safe movable bridge. (from there you also have an incredible view) free and secure parking, market store to taste, restaurant, goal field, camping area overlooking the lake, and goal field. incredible! This beautiful place is just 2 hours from Nashville, you will enjoy the road

One of Tennessee's top state parks. Beautiful water falls. Good swimming areas. Hiking trails are short but some have strenuous portions. Beware of slick rocks.
Visitors Center has little to offer. Better stop is the Nature Center with its suspension bridge and overlook.

One of the best places to visit in TN. You won’t find many more beautiful places to Covid in TN than FCF. My wife and I have been going there multiple times a year for over 30 years. We camp, golf, fish, hike, bike, swim, play pickle ball, nap, kayak & this year we did their lake nature tour. Great for the whole family and they’ve recently completed the new lodge and welcome center and they’re amazing. You should definitely plan to spend a few days but a day trip is totally worth it as well.

Really nice park. The storms had knocked down a lot of trees and they have been quick to clean it up. We really like the area and the amenities here. The only downside is side is the spot we have in camping area C #132 is really steep. If you get this spot bring extra leveling supplies. We had to get creative to make it work. The spot is pretty narrow with some trees close to the paved entrance.

Beautiful area for hiking and suitable for all fitness levels. Dog friendly, and you can customize your day easily around each waterfall you want to see. We did around 5 different short 1 mile hikes around the park and took us around 1/2 a day exploring. Winter is the best time to go as you can really see the falls open up!

Amazing park and facilities. The overlook to the "main" Fall Creek Falls is easy to get to and makes for a very awe inspiring sight. The trek to the base of the falls is fairly strenuous and can be very rocky so exercise caution. The visitor center is very nice and feels very modern. The general store is larger than expected and has lots of food, snacks and other camping and recreational items. If you are camping (especially with a larger RV) not all the RV sites are angled appropriately for easy entry. No cost for entry or parking, donations are accepted at the main falls via a drop box.

First visit since the new Inn was built. It’s really nice. We loved our room. Continental breakfast was fresh and they had outdoor seating. Had pasta for lunch - didn’t disappoint. Will visit again. Don’t forget to see the falls while on your visit.

I came here for hiking and to see the waterfalls, and I couldn't be more pleased. Walking down the path by Fall Creek Falls was a magical experience, made more fun by how challenging it was (very uneven rocks and steep). The suspension bridges were so fun, I saw some deer and other wildlife, and just enjoyed being out in nature. The park is very well maintained and has a good energy about it. I think it would be fun to explore it through the different seasons, so I will be back for sure.

My brother and I camped on the grounds here for four days and had an amazing time! The campgrounds facilities were very clean, the staff was very helpful, the waterfall was beautiful, the hiking trails with overlooks were very scenic, and there was A LOT to do on the site of the Falls! There’s an Olympic size pool, general store that had anything you could ever need, a lodge that has a restaurant on site, different places to do campfires outside of your campground, and a falls creek fall ranger staff that were very good at doing their job!

Beautiful. Lots of campground spots, but be mindful as many of them are not flat. More info is available online when reserving.
I did the full loop and hike down to the falls. Was really awesome and Beautiful. The fall colors are gorgeous.

It's such a pretty stroll through the mountains. Whether you go just for the overlooks or down the trails, you're guaranteed to see some amazing views. The hike down to the falls is less than a mile but very strenuous, with most of the trail being slanted rocks kinda like steps. We have been in a drought, so the water was not flowing like normal. They have shops, snack bar, pool, and other activities within the park as well.
Kali Myers — Google review
We stayed in the park at one of the fishermen's cabins. The cabin was very modern, with heated floors on the main level, clean bathrooms and showers, and a fairly well-appointed kitchen.
The falls were nice, though not enough rain led to a diminished amount of water coming off the falls. There are a lot of trails to hike as well.

Went there to see the FALL LEAVES fall but they had already fallen. We were blown away at how much damage a horrific tornado did to the park three months ago BUT more blown away at how quickly things are getting back to normal! We stayed in the Lodge and highly recommend it!!! Everyone that we encountered were so nice and helpful. Even the food in the restaurant for lunch and dinner was great! Breakfast was a continental breakfast but probably the worst we’ve ever been to. I would have paid for a good country breakfast but understood they are still understaffed. Ask for Room 317 - fabulous!! The state park is huge but very easily mapped. We definitely are going back♥️

This park is the absolute best. So many beautiful waterfalls. Lots of beautiful trails and wildlife. Easy hiking trail to explore as well as long strenuous ones. Everything is just a short distance from each other. Kid friendly. Lots of playgrounds. Great RV and camping areas. Has a beautiful scenic loop to drive around with lots of pull overs to take in the beauty. Nature Center is awesome. A must see. Eagles soaring are absolutely breathtaking. Soooo many hiking trails ! 8 beautiful waterfalls. It is by far one of the most beautiful parks I’ve visited. I highly recommend you visit for a vacation or weekend.

If your in the area this is a must see. You do have to take the trail back to see the best fall. It is worth it. Most of the best falls you have to walk back deep to see them. But it is the best. It is vary relaxing walking through the woulds with the views you see in the mountains are breathtaking. They mountain views are just as good as the waterfall itself.
We had a amazing time walking through all the trails in the area and watching all the waterfalls. The best time to see watefallsis are after a rain.

This park was great. The water falls were beautiful. We started out just walking to Fall Creek Fall and the suspension bridge. Well, 4 hours later we walked 4-1/2 miles.
The views at the top of the falls were cool and the bottoms were spectacular. The walk was rough down and up so if you have hiking poles, I suggest you bring them.

Falls Creek Falls! It's one of the very few waterfalls that I have not seen locally....until today! The distance is fairly short to the bottom to experience a powerfully beautiful up close and personal view. You'll even feel the water droplets blowing in your face as you watch from the nearby rocks.
It was dry today. However, I can certainly see it being slippery if it's recently rained if you are trekking down.
Coming out, be prepared for huffing and puffing as you make your way up the stairs unless you are in top shape. However, it is very manageable. There were all abilities, ages, and fitness levels making the hike down when I was there. I was there on a weekday, and there were more people than I expected to see with tourists, so I can imagine the weekends get really packed here. I highly recommend coming out during the week it you can.
The nature center is a great spot to check out. The trail from the nature center to the falls is relatively easy. If you are checking out the over looks the cane creek falls overlook is definitely work the extra elevation steps. I would skip Cane Creek Gulf overlook. There wasn't really anything to see here. Rocky point overlooks lives up to its name. If you're adventurous, you can do some rock hopping to a fairly nice view. However, it does take some dexterity to scramble those rocks, so if you aren't up for that, you can skip the extra elevation steps here, too.
Overall I would my experience here a solid 4.5 but we'll round up to 5 stars. Happy hiking!

Such a hidden gem. Beautiful nice place to hike and relax. We would love to come back in the summer time to jump into the water and do more hiking. The restaurant in the park was nice too.

The variety of falls were mostly dry during our November visit, but were really great flowing falls this trip in February! Though we loved them both times, greatly flowing water is always better. We also went out on Rocky Point. Very tough to get to if you're older or not in good shape but we did it and it was invigorating!
Historic site of 2 former mills is now a popular spot for swimming & hiking.
Beautiful place!
We did the overlook and the base hike.
The overlook honestly was not worth it. You could barely see the falls.
The base hike was great! I'm sure it changes with the seasons, I was in October 2022, the water was no more then knee level throughout the river. I didn't think the hike was as difficult as others had described, besides crossing the river twice, and watching out for the slippery rocks, it was pretty easy getting across the huge boulders. The waterfalls were very nice and the fall colors were coming out too, overall very nice fun adventurous hike.

This place is really beautiful. Due to recent rains the water was high. That and the temperature stopped us from hiking the gorge, but there were people hiking it. You could tell the water was cold. We hiked some of the outer trails, but a recent prescribed burn left most of the scenery charred. It was a bit windy at times and we ended up covered in soot. It was decent exercise for the day. 3/5/22

What an amazing place! It was a challenging trail but so worth it! We experienced this with 3 adults (1 over 65) and 2 kids (10 and 6). Overall everyone enjoyed our time at the park. I would recommend the park have places along the trail with garbage bins but even without that... 5 stars!!!

We had been planning this hiking for a long time, so we arrived around 9:30 AM; for the first time, we did the tour, including the waterfall overlook, and then we took the Blackburn fork river trail, you can see map 1; the route was 2 miles, and we covered it in 1 hour 2 minutes to Cummins falls; I recommend patience and enjoy nature there is no rush, and the was stony path; There is a part of the trial where you have to cross the river, it is super slippery there.
After swimming and submerging, and swimming in cold waters, the route was lighter see map 2; but you have to take your time going up to the parking area; it takes us 34 minutes in 1.1 miles.

CAREFUL! By far one of my most memorable hikes yet. You can access the overlook easily, but the hike becomes extremely strenuous once you travel to the base. You must have a gorge permit which you can purchase online and screenshot, but make sure to wear some water shoes with good grip bec you WILL have to enter some water along your journey. I'd recommend a backpack or fany pack to keep your hands free, but the views were definitely worth it.

Beautiful area, go early for less people. I saw the falls from a super easy walk. I did not want to hike the gorge in March if it required getting wet. I didn’t see any people on the other trails I took. Not sure why but all restrooms were locked up. There is plenty of parking, dogs welcome on a leash. The park staff were friendly.
Beth Rekoske — Google review
Must get the permit to hike the gorge. It took a total of 1.5 hours from the parking lot to the base of the Falls. We crossed the river at the little waterfall on the right first. The water was about upper thigh high (I'm 5'2") - the 2nd crossing was a little slippery, the water was just below knee high - we followed the rock bed through back to the left side. The walk down to the river gets steep the closer you get. The hardest part of the hike is the walk back up from the river to the parking lot. The level was a 3 the day we hiked 5/8/22. The day before 5/7/22 it was a 4 - gorge closed. Go as early as you can because this is an out-and-back hike, it gets busy and some of the trails are very skinny.

This hike is amazing. You NEED water shoes, I was most comfortable in shorts and bikini bottoms as pants will get wet. Need to get a permit beforehand online. I also had a backpack and put my phone and car keys in a ziplock bag and boy did that save my life with the deep water, highly recommend if you don’t have a waterproof case. The water was waist deep in spots when I went since it rained all week, so definitely check the weather and know what to expect as well attire wise. It was pretty strenuous with a dog, but so much fun. I got there at 8am when the park opened so I could get pictures of the falls without people standing all over the falls. It was so peaceful going early. It’s not marked, but when you get down to the river, you turn left and hike upstream. You basically hike until the path runs out then cross the river and hike the path on that side. I crossed 4 times total the whole trip. I ran into 3 other hikers who were really cool and fun so we all walked together halfway to the falls. I can see why they say it’s hard for young children, I suppose if they are carried in a pack or you pick them up for certain boulders they could do it. But it’s tough! I was picking up my 50 pound pit-bull sometimes! It’s definitely worth the pain though 10/10 yes do it if you’re in the area.

Fantastic swimming hole. Didn't seem overcrowded and rangers on duty to keep people safe. Dog friendly too! Small fee to enter the gorge but totally worth it. The hike to the falls is not super hard but there are some slippery/rocky parts. Bring decent shoes and have a spare dry pair waiting in the car and you will be fine.
Gary Roberts — Google review
Wear appropriate hiking/water shoes! Geeze people are down there in flip flops! Lots of large boulders, slippery algae rocks when you have to cross through water, etc. Bring a backpack with lots of snacks and waters, and pack out your trash. This hike is such an amazing experience and well worth it when you arrive at the waterfall. Make sure to get your gorge access pass online to make things simple. People were jumping off the waterfalls, but it was only about 4 feet deep and all three people hurt their feet. Also, the rocks on the upper ledge are super slippery, one lady and child fell and slipped off into the pool below, and another man slipped and fell on the boulders trying to leave the falls area. My own daughter fell and took a chunk out of her knee. Also, check the weather and go when there's no rain a few days prior to help make sure the water is ankle deep and not thigh deep.
Make sure you stop to see the fossils along the rocks, and enjoy the brisk water. We brought our own life jackets. Enjoy it!

Amazing place! We were lucky to have a beautiful 70° day in November. The water was low and had not rained recently. Definitely impossible to keep your feet dry, bring old shoes or sturdy sandals not flip-flops! Worth the rugged hike over large rocks, not for the casual hiker. The return hike back was just as rugged and then it's back UP the steep hill to your car! Walking sticks/poles would be a good idea.
S K — Google review
Please take your water shoes to enjoy the hike.
You will have to cross the river twice when headed towards the falls and twice again while returning.
It can get strenuous if you are trying to avoid walking in the water and stick to the land.
Pets had a great time.
It's take about 3-4 hours for the entire trip.
Most scenic and beautiful views at the falls.

Checking in and getting a permit to enter the water at the falls is worth it. The hike to the gorge itself is beautiful than when you actually reach it you're blown away. Wear sturdy shoes you don't mind getting wet, wear or pack a swimsuit. And throw a towel in a backpack. Don't bring anything you can't afford to get potentially wet. This is not an average hike. Technical terrain with rocks and small boulders. The water is cold but very refreshing on a hot day! Highly recommended this experience!
Clayton Woodward — Google review
Amazing falls and the park has well maintained trails. Rocks are slippery of course but the crossings weren't too deep. Don't forget to plan ahead with a permit and for rain. It will close for any rain forecast due to risk of flash floods.
Madeline Hattman — Google review
This was so beautiful!! I do think the park should warn you more about how tough it can be to actually get to the falls and have signs reassuring you of which way to go to get to the falls. You must, must, must have water shoes or sneakers on that you don’t mind getting wet and you must have good tread on your shoes. Once you get to the actual falls you realize it was worth all that trekking to get to them!!!

This is one of the top favorite places to visit when we have friends and family in the area. We live about 2 hrs away from Cummins Falls and love to make a day trip out it! We make it a point to show off this Tennessee beauty every chance we can!!
The hike can be a bit challenging for those some, but it is definitely doable if you're determined. Love that they offer life jackets and rangers are on stand-by.

I recommend appropriate footwear (they will get we). There’s lots of rocks to maneuver around but a great activity overall. If it was summer I would definitely jump in the water.

The gorge and falls exceeded our expectations! Plan on getting wet feet at least. Use the 3 points of contact rule when scrambling over wet river boulders. (Or you might eat sh.t). Make sure to pack in and pack out. The trash left by lesser humans is a real bummer. Matter of fact, next I my partner and I visit we’re gonna being an extra trash back and pack to clean up what trash we find. I think the weekends are gonna be very busy especially through the summer. Try to get there early or on a weekday. Beautiful spot. $6 a person bc there is a limited number of visitors per day fyi.
Make sure to use the restroom bf going down to the falls. Nowhere to even try to pee in the gorge. There’s nowhere to hide. Lol
Make sure to visit Rita at the country store at the entrance to the park. Great ice cream and wonderful service.

It's beautiful there, but the walking path down to the creek before heading to the falls is a fantastic workout going back up🥵. Do that 3 or 4 times a day and you'll be skinny in no time😅😅. I went in the beginning of December so the water was very low. You could see the bedrock and walk on it. I noticed kinda a lot of trash on the sides of the walking paths and near wear the water meets the banks. The park needs to get in there and clean that up a little. Saw some Hawks and deer on my walk. Not one chipmunk or squirrel, which is weird🤔.

Burgess Falls State Park boasts of four waterfalls that cascade into a large pool via foot trails with varying levels of difficulty, ranging from moderate to strenuous. The park is incredibly beautiful and also features hiking trails, a butterfly garden, a playground for children, and a store in close proximity. Visitors are encouraged to visit the park at least once as it is an absolute must-see destination for waterfall enthusiasts.
This place is Incredibly Beautiful ❤ our first trip..about 2 hours 30 minutes each way but it was definitely worth the travel!! I'm sharing some of my pictures for everyone to see what we seen so you can judge for yourself! There is at least 4 falls but you do have to walk half a mile or so to get to the big tall one. They also have a Butterfly Garden, hiking trails, a playground for the kids, & a store very close.I encourage everyone to go see this but the people who are waterfall fanatics...IT IS A MUST!!!

There's a covered area behind the restrooms with tables and benches too! The parking lot is right at the trail entrance and as soon as you enter you are blown away by a tranquil waterfall! Stunning view of Burgess falls and super easy trail with only one part with stairs, maybe 30 or so stairs going straight up but if you can manage those you are golden! Not a super long hike but so worth the view! Love, love, love this little trail!

We kayaked from Cane Hollow Recreation Area a few days after some big rainfalls. The trip to the Falls took a little over an hour and we took our time. The Falls were nuts given the large rainfall, but in an amazing way. This is a must do trip if you like waterfalls! Oh, nice launching area. Only porta-potties available and they are not on flat ground. Yikes!

We love this park. If you take the lower trail you can see the lesser falls as well as the major one. They were all beautiful. The lower trail is harder with lots of roots that you have to be careful of and a large flight of stairs. There is an upper path that is mostly flat and much easier to traverse that leads to the main fall. From the main fall lookout there is also a path that goes down so you can look out from the top of the fall. My young adult sons loved that part. Also a ton of stairs on that path.

We walked the trail around 10am and the majority of it was all shady which made it very nice. The hardest part of the trail is if you decide to walk down from the view point to see the water up close. There are quite a few steps that are very steep! Beautiful hike and I loved the waterfalls!

Was a nice little day hike! It took about 1.5 hours total with stopping at the lookouts. We thought it was going to be more strenuous than it was. Not a lot of hiking but some. My pups and I really loved this park. The trails were easy to walk through. I have two small dogs and they did fine. It wasn’t busy at all and everything was beautiful. The falls were big and worth the walk. It’s so wooded, shaded and peaceful. It’s also close by to another state park that also has a pretty big waterfall. This was also dog friendly. I would suggest to anyone who wants to see some nature while visiting the city.

Spectacular views, well marked path and a gorgeous fall day to adventure. We went early and arrived before others so it was more peaceful but it is a highly trafficked area. The bathrooms were clean and there were picnic tables and grills both in the open and under a pavilion. It was a lovely short hike with amazing views! The park had railings and steps and garbage bins along the hiking trail. Dog friendly too.

I had not looked this lake up before visiting, such a wonderful suprise. That waterfall that's hidden in that lake is amazing. It was about an hour kayak trip from Cane Hollow (lots of parking there) Very nice lake, lots of wildlife and the water was perfect for swimming.

First off. No matter how many pictures you take, the sights don't touch the quality of the picture. It's breath taking. Absolutely gorgeous.
The hike itself. It's steep and strenuous, it makes a little easier since there's steps which doesn't make it seem as bad, (good cardio) but if you're a plus lady like myself with poor lung function, I advise you take it easy and slow, don't rush yourself. The end is so worth it and it's rewarding knowing you did it!!!
We all had a blast, it was great fun. You'll enjoy it. We took our dog too and she had a blast!

Fantastic scenic place. Park area at top of falls offers a nice view.
The bottom is accessible by kayaking about two miles and then hiking the final stretch (assuming the water level is down as was when we visited.
Visiting the base is amazing. Scenic waterways w stellar views. We saw a bald eagle on the water while kayaking.
When the water is low you’ll need to walk in sometimes rocky, muddy, and hilly areas. You’ll be forced to cross the water at times and climb over some larger rocks.
Do it. It’s amazing.

Super cool hike to above the falls! If you like living on the edge, this is the place for you! You can walk out to the edge of the falls where there is rock and see it from the tippy top! Don't fall in though it's 135 ft down the falls. Pretty cool the history of the falls powering a mill to power the town back in the day.

Absolutely beautiful hike. You get to see falls in many different areas which is incredible and there’s a designated viewing area for each. The whole walk you’re surrounded by trees which this time of year (April) were pretty much entirely green. A few trees contained flowers and were in full bloom.

Beautiful waterfall and easy hiking trail. Dogs on leashes are allowed. There is water access at the cascade near the parking lot and I think the only way to swim at the bottom of the actual fall is via kayak or canoe.

Beautiful park with a nice and mostly easy to moderate hike.
Walk right up from the parking lot to enjoy the cascading water immediately or take the journey down the easy to moderate path to the large falls. From there, you can view from the top or take the moderately difficult journey to the bottom of the falls.
Worth the drive from any distance!

Such a wonderful park. The trail to the top of the overlook was moderate, but mainly due to the amount of stairs and spacing between each step. There is an access road that you can walk down to make it easier, but you will still have some stairs to navigate.

Nice moderate hike with beautiful falls at the end. It took us about 20 min to slowly enjoy the route. Multiple falls along the way to the main one. Restrooms are nice, dog friendly, picnic places, dog friendly.

Fun little hike and absolutely beautiful! It's dog-friendly and parts of the hike can get a little narrow with all the trees and large roots.
Because of the sections that can be slightly narrow, please please do not bring dogs that are not friendly toward other dogs. Ours was almost attacked by a larger dog that the owner couldn't handle and had slipped away from her.
Even with that, however, I would definitely visit again.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls to hike to. The hike is about 1.5 miles roundtrip. Not a hard hike to do and well worth it. Multiple cascade waterfalls to view along the way. Burgess falls at the end is such a stunning waterfall to view from a platform and can walk down to the top of the falls afterwards. I recommend seeing this beautiful piece of nature.
I first came here on a elementary school field trip almost 30 years ago. This place is truly amazing and should be experienced by everyone. We bring our kids every few years to see the beauty that this cave has to offer. Highly recommend and our guide Justin did a fantastic job.

We booked reservations several days prior to our visit. On arriving, there is paved parking and a really nice visitor center / gift shop with nice and clean restrooms.
Our tour group left promptly at our scheduled time. Depending on your hike, it’s a pebble / gravel path to the entrance of the cave. I would not recommend it for someone in a wheel chair or with a physical limitation. Once you entered the cave, there is a smooth sidewalk for the first 1/3 or so of the trail. It gets steep, windy and narrow for the last 2/3 and there are about 50-100 stairs you will traverse. It is an out and back for the East and about 1.5 miles total. It was so amazing to see the different “rooms” in the cave (they even have concerts down there!!).
Our tour guide Victoria was awesome. we loved her personality, jokes and stories.
This was one of the best parts of our trip!!

Have you ever been to a cavern and just wanted to go climbing on the rocks or slip down a crevice? Well, you actually can at Cumberland Caverns. This is a great experience. Jay was our tour guide and we had an amazing time. We can't wait to do it again.

We did the Discovery Tour and our tour guide Derek did a fantastic job for his first solo tour. We had our three year old grandson with us and Derek did a great job explaining things to him also. The light show was great and even held our grandson's attention. A must visit when you're in the area!

Markie did an amazing job! Highly recommend both the tour and the tour guide! So many things to see, great information about every part of the cave (and its inhabitants), and we even got a song to cap off the cavern experience!

This was a petty cool cave to see. They have different routes from the nice and clean to crawling around in the mud. Ha. We went on a scouting event so we stayed the night. That was cool. The only draw back was that they got back just before midnight. Yikes. We had a good time and the guides were perfect.

Great experience! Good place to walk through Beautiful caverns and enjoy the nature! Good for kids. My boys 5 and 9 really enjoyed this place. Our guide was awesome! Nick gives us good tour and we had great time.

The cumberland caverns was my first experience of caves and it was absolutely beautiful. Our tour guide, Victoria gave us sufficient knowledge about various aspects like how and who discovered and how long it took. She also shared with us some fun facts along the tour. The chandelier in one of the cave halls was unimaginable and amazing. Thanks to her for making our tour a wonderful experience.

It was fun-enough. I did the discovery tour, I'm sure the adventure tours are much more exciting. Our tour guide was mildly funny, but knowledgeable, and the price was fair. I just don't see an appeal to a second time, the light show is ... meh, but it looks like an awesome venue for a conference, wedding, birthday.

We took the 90 minute tour and it was so much fun. Our guide Macy did a great job sharing educational facts as well as keeping us laughing. There are some steep stairs going up and down that are slick so keep that in mind when booking. The views were worth the stairs though. The cave is gorgeous.

This was an amazing experience! Our tour guide Rissa was very knowledgeable and informative! We took the 45-minute basic tour and it was just right! I can't wait until they bring back concert events! The venue was very cool. If you're in the area it is worth taking the tour.

This is a great place to go as a trip or to go when you are bored.
The caves are amazing, has many cool parts, and is fascinating with it's natural formation.
The guides are super funny, knowledgeable, safe, and explain + answer everything.
(Shout out to Nick for a interesting and amazing journey we had today)
There is a nice shop with cool geodes and some other cool stuff (to which I do not know the name of)
It was a weekday, so it was not too crowded
There are specific times when the tour starts, so you might have to wait a bit for it. For us, it was around 15 minutes.
Overall it is an fun place to visit to see how caves are made and learn some funny historical moments of it.

Great cave tour. I am glad our small group went in. A little more than I expected to pay, but the guide Briana did a great job of explaining the history of how the cave was found and the geology of it. It was nice and cool inside and a great relief from the hot summer day! I think it would be exciting to see a concert there. Perhaps they should have some special "bargain" days you can come in to see it. But the hour and a half tour was well done.

This is a great outlet! Easy access off of I-40. My family stops every time we are in the area. It’s not at full capacity but it is a great place to shop.

Sadly more than half of these stores are no more! It was about to rain and we were already there so we decided to check out what was there. We enjoyed the stores that were there and open, the staff through out was grateful we were there, also. We went in where the food court would be and the restrooms were still open. We made a silly video acting like it was an abandoned mall, stephie likes those kinda of places and videos.

It's nearly dead in 2021. Shoe outlets down to two, full price, church moved into the old Nike outlet, lots of empty stores. Needs to hustle and get some stores in. Sad that even Spirit Halloween isn't in there

Very few stores left in this outlet. I always stop at Bath and Body when near. It's a great store! Friendly service and great prices!
Cathy Collins — Google review
What stores they have left are fine - the Eddie Bauer, et. al - except for the toy store, which is selling dollar store fare. That said, the outlets are decidedly desolate. About half the storefronts are vacant, and two are taken by churches. Only one of the food court restaurants (out of about three) was open when I visited. Needs an infusion of new stores desperately.

Was really disappointed they are closing all the stores by then of the month March 2923. We went to bath and body works and the 2 employees in there were very helpful and very nice.

Nice little Outlet. Right off highway RT40.
Has one of the few Nike Factory Clearance Centers. This is also where the gas ($2.07) is cheapest in area.😁 This is a standard outdoor mall setting...a few store fronts closed...going the way of the dinosaurs. This still a worthwhile place to go shop in person....eight off expressway. Good Christmas deals going on right now throughout outlet area.
900-acre park featuring rock gardens & rare plants, plus 8 miles of trails for hiking & riding.
Cedars' of Lebanon is a really nice state part. We stayed 3 nights in our Travel Trailer. The campground host was very friendly and helpful. The campsite we were at was a bit small and close to the next camper, but there were many others to choose from that were more spacious and shaded. There is plenty of hiking in and around the park. I really enjoyed the boulder beds on the Cedar Forest Trail, but the special habitat of this region is the limestone glades. Glades range from bare rock to a thin substrate of soil with desert-like vegetation to shallow soil grasslands. The glades may be small or large open areas surrounded by cedar trees. When we were there in late winter there was not much to be seen in the way of wildflowers, but the trails were very quiet and pleasant. Also, if you want to spend a day in the city, Nashville is less than 45 minutes away.

We stayed here in early October with family and friends and it was a perfect long weekend. We stayed in a camper in campsite 3 on one of the more private lots. It was the first weekend that the weather started getting really cool at night so we really enjoyed the campfire. The amenities are great at this park. Firewood is easily accessible at the store and very affordable. There are several parks with swings, slides, and jungle gyms which was a big deal for my 4 year old. For any grocery needs there is a very well stocked dollar general less than a mile up the road, and an Aldis not far away. There are showers on site and while they aren't perfect, the water gets nice and hot and they are spacious. The only issue is there is no curtain or partition to keep your clothes and toiletries bag from getting wet. Best advice- put it in the farthest corner near the door and if you have a trash bag put it over your stuff. The park itself is beautiful. There are deer everywhere and all kinds of other wildlife. The hiking trails are great as well. Overall we really enjoyed Cedars of Lebanon and we will definitely be back in the near future.

It was very nice. Even tho it rained all weekend we had a good time camping. The Hidden Spring hiking loop was a beautiful hike. Wonderful park with friendly staff. Lots of great hiking trails. The visitor center is small but well kept and easily accessible.
There are clean restrooms inside the visitor center and a half mile loop hiking trial.
There are shelters, picnic tables, kids play area, tennis court, beautiful butterfly garden and information center.
There is also Jackson cave which requires permit to enter of course.
Campgrounds and Cabin are available which can be reserved online or at the check-in station.
Beautiful place to be irrespective of the time of the year!

First time camping here. We had a great experience!
Online reservations for booking a campsite was easy. Price was great and you had an option to round up your cost to donate to the park. **PET FRIENDLY**
Campground 1 sites are closer together than campground 2 & 3’s. But great atmosphere either way. Cabins are offered here too.
Bathrooms were clean. The showers (at least in the ladies restroom at campground 1) did not have a shower curtain; but if you hang your stuff on the hooks your things should stay dry.
There is a spot to do laundry here if you’re a camper. We did not use this amenity, but it’s great to know for future!
A few playgrounds, a few trails, lots of nature!
Heavy ranger presence at the parks, which I was surprised by- but thankful for.
Staff was super friendly at check in and purchasing firewood at the gift shop/check in office. A gas station for basics is right outside the park, and there is a Dollar general down the road and further down the road is a Walmart
We will definitely be back!

Lovely state park! It was very clean and well maintained. It is very dog friendly, as long as they're leashed. Lots of trails to hike and beautiful areas to see. Jackson Cave was very nice, just watch for unattended children throwing rocks off the top. Hidden Springs Trail was super great. Loved finding the Spring and listening to it.

Great park. There is a nice car loop for a drive and you can drive into the state forest as well. Come out in Noreen and it's only 20 minutes back to town. Hiking loops are .5 mile to 5 miles. Not bad at all and very clearly marked. A splash pad and many camping sites. Very peaceful.

We were so impressed with how much there was to do at this campground! There are so many trails, playgrounds,
and bike/walk friendly roads. Our family of 6 stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time. The sites were a bit cramped (our rig is 31') and parking our truck was a bit tricky. The store was convenient ands the staff were helpful and very friendly. Would definitely stay again-- it was absolutely beautiful!

I rented a space for my camper for drill weekend to save some money! I got there late and found that the space I rented needed a converter for my plug! When I made the reservation I told them 30 amp…luckily there was a helpful neighbor that had one or I would have west all night. I had to buy one from their store. There went some of the money I saved…next time it’s a hotel room for me

Winner in all ways. Great staff, and they do a great job of maintaining the park. Beautiful sites and in the AAA section big rigs have NO problems fitting or maneuvering. Very cool nature center/butterfly and hummer gardens. And there is a cave you can explore with a wash station after spelunking. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Close to Nashville too.

We booked an RV spot for overnight camping and we enjoyed the peace, quiet and secure spot. The shower and restroom was right opposite to area 3 with heaters and hot water which was such a plus on a cold morning. The park was almost full in December which definitely gave us the impression that Cedar park is very popular. All the amenities were as expected.
We ended up hiking a 2 mile trail and we saw many deers and squirrels which was pretty exciting for my dogs!
There wasn’t any check in process which helped us coming in late at night and we ended up spending a rather slow morning before heading out.
The park is very well maintained with rangers around during the day.

We had camped here before and really liked the place. This time was different. Our site was not cleaned prior to our arrival. Had to clean beer cans and aluminum foil from the fire ring. Our grille had dozens of cigarette butts in it, so we used our own grill. A nearby site had a couple that played loud music and commercials that resounded throughout the campground. Not the park's fault, unless they allow it to continue, which they did. The same campers used the sink in the bathroom to wash their dishes (gross), and left trash on their site that was still there 2 days after they left. Exactly what are the camp hosts doing? Since there is not much to do in the area, without going to Nashville, I doubt we'll return.

This Park's Staff are truly pros! Our hiking club wanted to have a Christmas party in one of the shelters. That particular shelter was undergoing repairs on the fireplace. Having a shelter with a working fireplace was an essential part of our plan...and comfort. Prior to me reserving the shelter, Park staff member Teresa consulted with the Park manager and maintenance personnel to confirm the firm completion date of the repair. Not only was the fireplace completed in time for our party, Teresa communicated throughout the process to ease my peace of mind. I'll be honest, rarely have my experiences dealing with any aspect of the State of Tennessee been handled with efficiency and dispatch. This time however, it was. Very professional. The shelter was repaired, tidy and clean for our party. They even left the (super clean) bathrooms open this late in the year for us! Could not be happier. THANK YOU to all that helped with getting the shelter ready!!

Cedars of Lebanon State Park is a remarkable natural haven, nestled in the heart of Tennessee's Central Basin. This park is a testament to the beauty and diversity of the region's landscapes.
One of the standout features of this park is its captivating trails. These trails wind through a landscape that is both lovely and challenging, making them a treat for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts seeking adventure. The terrain, sprinkled with rocky grounds and small caves, adds an element of excitement to the hiking experience. Exploring these trails offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the rugged beauty of the area.
The park's rich natural history is equally fascinating. The presence of cedar glades, a natural rock garden ecosystem, is a true gem. The thin or absent soil, coupled with limestone rock close to the surface, creates a harsh yet distinctive habitat that hosts nineteen rare and endangered plant species found nowhere else in the world. This ecological diversity is a testament to the park's significance in preserving Tennessee's unique natural heritage.
Cedars of Lebanon State Park is a destination that not only offers a chance to connect with nature but also provides a glimpse into the area's historical roots.
For those seeking outdoor adventure, a deep dive into Tennessee's natural beauty, or simply a place to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, Cedars of Lebanon State Park is a captivating destination. Whether you're an avid hiker, a nature enthusiast, or someone looking to explore the rich history of the region, this park has something special to offer. Enjoy your journey through this remarkable slice of Tennessee's wilderness!

Also, a good place to get married as they have beautiful buildings.

Our stay was short and sweet but it was our 3rd stay because we love it! This time we were just stopping to break up our drive home but we were able to take a nice long walk and smell the incredible aromatic cedar trees and that can’t be beat! At night we had a roaring fire that also smelled like heaven. We left very early in the morning with regrets that we couldn’t stay longer. We will be back!!!

Haven't stayed there yet but seems like a really neat looking place. Campsites are way too expensive compared to other places you can camp in middle Tennessee. $40 a night for a campsite is reasonable but they quoted me $50 ish and that was before tax and fees . (Or that's the way I understood it. Cabins are also a bit high priced, even in the off season when nobodys renting them. When I went through there I only saw one cabin for rented and they were still charging $156 a night on the smallest one in the off season. It was cold out lol. Think they should be more reasonable with there prices, especially when they can't even rent them or potentially keep them rented for the price they charge (just my opinion, may not be the case. I only visited the park once . I drove around in there and looked at everything for a couple hours, stopped and asked questions at the front desk etc.

The Oaklands Mansion is a historical plantation that once housed both Confederate and Union soldiers. Nowadays, it offers visitors the chance to take tours and participate in various activities. The estate boasts stunning grounds with plenty of picturesque shade, making it an ideal location for photography or peaceful strolls. The mansion itself is a beautiful example of architecture from its time period and well worth exploring. Visitors can benefit from the informative guides who are happy to answer any questions and offer the freedom to explore at their own pace.
For years Oakland Mansion has hosted high quality events at their beautiful venue. The staff is always professional and kind. James Manning has also taken great care to tell the history of the site and brought forth the stories and voices of the enslaved persons who lived there.

We just had our wedding at Oakland's mansion and it was amazing! Definitely recommend getting married here if you appreciate simple elegance and a historical venue. We fell in love with the beauty of the venue when we first toured it and the reception hall was a perfect size for our smaller guest count. Our wedding was outside on the grounds with the mansion as the backdrop and happy hour was behind the mansion with pretty hanging lights. We received so many compliments about how beautiful the venue was. Connor was wonderful to work with, he helped me through the whole process of having our wedding at Oaklands and he answered all my emails so quickly. He also met with me multiple times in person to go over specific wedding details. He has a very calming presence that is much appreciated when you are stressed planning a wedding! I was supposed to have my wedding here. We had set the date and we waiting to put down a deposit this coming week. Until today, when I got a message saying that the venue had been booked for our wedding date the ENTIRE TIME and that it was in fact not going to be available. This was a conversation we had for months and we’re told our date was opened. Not only was I disappointed but I was left with absolutely no backup options. Extremely unprofessional and frustrating. I would definitely ask to see their calendar yourself, because clearly they cannot read it.

We had an amazing two week stay at the campground. The staff were incredibly friendly. All the facilities were incredibly clean and the entire grounds were well maintained.
With the gated entry and the ranger always nearby we felt incredibly safe at all hours of the night
The camp hosts were always around and eager to help. They provided recommendations on restaurants, nearby activities and other state parks to visit. I found their firewood to be a better deal than that from stores in town.
The wildlife was plentiful and very accustomed to people. Often I would enjoy my morning coffee with a whole herd of deer about 25 feet from my window.

Bledsoe park is relatively small as state parks go, but offers nice easy trails and areas that are perfect for the whole family. Just behind the visitor's center is a paved trail area that's perfect for kids and those less mobile. There is a large playground and a few game areas too. The Shoreline trail will take you all the way around the park and is about 4 miles of easy to moderate difficulty (mostly easy but there is a section that goes down to the lakefront that's a little steep). No fishing or swimming at this park though.

I'm a bit biased because I'm a local. Bledsoe has a nice campground with several water sites. I love the wildlife here too.

It's one of the top 5 on my list because the trails are well blazed and the amenities are great. Any monies that park received was well used for visitors center, restrooms, playground and trails. The RV camping is near trails and lake. They also offer Storybook trail for children that is the 2nd one I've seen so far in the park's I've visited. There's a few docks to stop and take pic's of Lake and the trails connect if wanting to hike further. So so many 🦌 everywhere plus plenty of bird sightings. Easy terrain you can do without heavy boots. Just a wonderful easy hike with friends and family. Enjoy. 🦌🐿🐦🐢🦃🐾

Bledsoe Creek is a small State Park, but it offers camping, hiking, boating, playground, and history. One of the trails is set up for children, educating them on the foliage and wildlife in the park. Some trails are paved, making them suitable for handicap access. Dogs are permitted on the trails. There are lots of benches making even a casual walk enjoyable. The longest trail is a combination of the Lakeside and High trails and is suitable for training for a 5K run. Its total length is about 3.1 miles. The park provides a safe environment for families since it is regularly patrolled by Rangers. Cell reception is strong enough to play music on my phone throughout the park.

Beautiful campground. Super friendly park rangers. Clean restrooms. Large campsites.
A couple negatives: sign on restroom says showers cost $5, pay at office. Arriving early isn't a good here. You I'll have to wait at the boat launch til your site is clean.
Despite those two things, it's still a great place to camp!

The museum also boasts of having the world's largest cedar bucket.
What a cool place to spend the afternoon! We loved strolling through the grounds at our own pace to explore the history of our town. So unique and educational!

What a fun, and free, stop! World's (new) Largest Cedar Bucket, really neat old buildings and history. The QR codes on the buildings are a great touch so you can see the interiors even when they are closed!
Be sure to stop by the cute little gift shop for some yummy ice cream, neat trinkets, a site brochure, clean bathrooms, and an informative talk by the employees who work there!

Nice way to spend an afternoon. While the structures are of olden times, most buildings have been moved here from other places in Tennessee. It was educational to look inside the buildings to see how people lived, worked, and played back yonder. Plenty of parking.

Decided to check out a few places in Murfreesboro ( visiting Tennessee). This place is a nice place to bring kids if your in to history. Period correct buildings, nice vintage tractor display and the staff was friendly and informative. No reenactment while I was here but I understand at times there is. It's free!!! And just across the creek is a nice place to picnic.

Great walk through past living conditions. Kind staff, simple layout but go at your own pace. Restrooms available across grounds & visitor center helpful & has cute items to purchase by locals. Oct 28 2023 will be Harvest Day fun, sorry to miss. Blacksmith wasn’t on staff and no guided tour but fun time w the kids and played checkers on the grounds!

Cannonsburgh is so much fun to visit - whether a regular workday or a weekend festival. The pioneer era village is highly detailed and set up to view inside. Usually there are artisans and staff there to explain the equipment and settings. Many beautiful weddings have been held there and every time we have gone we’ve seen some great live music and dancing.

Totally free 1880 old town experience, but if you enjoyed you should leave a tip, the woman was super friendly, she gave us a introduction, you will spent one hour to see all the buildings, its a clean place, they have outdoor tables to play chess, 5 stars

History is always interesting especially when it's presented to you with actual examples from the past. For me, it's amazing to see how well they were able to construct their facilities and machinery in those days. It was all available to see and review. Well worth the trip for me.

Cool, small historic village that you can tour and learn about the history of the communities around Murfreesboro. The historical farming equipment is awesome!

Went on a dreary, drizzly, rainy day so not all the buildings were open but definitely enjoyed it and learned a lot! Dont have room to post all my pictures on here but definitely a lot of history to be learned!!
Went into art league which is also located here, talked to a couple ladies, looked at the art for sale, a lot of hidden talent there!

Stones River National Battlefield is a 570-acre park and cemetery that features well-marked trails and a visitor center, which provides information about the Civil War battlefield. The visitor center was designed to teach visitors about the site's history while remaining respectful towards fallen soldiers and apolitical. The National Park Service did an excellent job of presenting the information without bias towards any side of the battle - there was no mention of which party emerged victorious.
A very nice day for a visit. The driving tour is great, but it is walkable and great for bicycles. Something for everyone of all ages. Sites are well marked and easy to find. There is a self guided audio tour which is very helpful. Also very sobering to think of the number of casualties. You can spend as little or as long as you like exploring the park. Download the National Park Service app before you go.

Really great national historic site with a lot of intentionality put into capturing the history and events that took place. A few monuments that you were able to go see (accessible by walking) definitely add to the experience. This is a park that enables you to stop by on a day trip to Murfreesboro and is generally accessible by car. There’s pretty great biking infrastructure, and a visitor center that allows visitors to walk through a chronological record of “Hell’s Half Acre”
Zak Myers — Google review
Well designed visitor center that allows you to learn about the site and battle while also remaining respectful to the fallen soldiers and remaining apolitical. The NPS did a nice job of presenting this without a prejudice for one side being better or worse--specifically I didn't recall seeing any information on which side won the battle.
It's about 8 minutes from the interstate and you can enjoy the full visitor center experience in as little as 30 minutes.

If you are looking for a outing with the family or just want to get out and learn about the civil war and the struggles these men went through. This place is one of the largest battles and most causalities occurred in a short three day period. It’s humbling to walk amongst the soldiers graves and see the many that gave their lives during the battle.
They have a guided tour you can take or you can go in your vehicle and drive among the trail to the actual battlefield places.Such a great trip for learning and seeing what they went through.

We are always pursuing more passport stamps! My kids enjoyed the Visitor Center and the drive through the battleground and past the Stone River National Cemetery. We saw 4 wild turkeys as we drove in and they "talked back" when my girls called to them "Gobble, gobble, gobble!" Junior Ranger activity books are free for kids, and completing one will earn them a badge. We spent some time (and money) in the gift shop... a bird guide, a couple children's books, Christmas ornament, and more stickers to stamp for our forgotten at home passport! Also there was a book for Family Activities. I do recommend as a great place to visit and learn some history and about local wildlife. There is a short educational film that shows reenactments (including head wounds and dead bodies) my girls found this a bit upsetting and said, "I hate wars, they make people die!" In my opinion, that's an excellent take away! I enjoyed the quotes from Ed Abbott.

Just stumbled onto this on our trip as we were making a stop in Murfeesboro and had some downtime to be able to visit this battlefield. Neat little battlefield that is very accessible to walk around, drive to and spend an easy 1-2 hours here tops.
You will not be spending hours and hours here to see everything but for a a battlefield I didn't know exist before visiting, it was worth a little detour to get out and stretch our legs.

This park is awesome. Unfortunately, the history behind it is not, but the presentation of the history and historical facts at the time is just great. It is also horrifying at times to realize what those soldiers went through.
I highly recommend taking in the whole park. It is truly an experience. The slaughter pen is unbelievable, especially when you realize the horrifying battle that occurred there.
The folks at the visitor center were extremely helpful and friendly.
Do not miss out on this park for sure if you are in the area.

This is a battle field during the Civil War. This park you can drive to locations within the park to see certain important locations. You have an option to hear free audio (off your phone from a number you call) of the area you are in. If you enjoy history this can be a nice place to visit.

I appreciated that it was possible to visit this despite not having a lot of time. I was able to complete the visitor center and 5 of the outdoor sites in about 1.5 hours.
The rock formations in the Slaughter Pen were interesting.

Tucked into a city, this is a great place to see nature. I was surrounded by deer the morning I was there. As far as following the battle, it's not the easiest place to do so. If you have knowledge of the battle then what you see and walk/drive to would make some sense. There are very few plaques and almost no monuments. The visitor center is nice and the rangers there are very knowledgeable. Having the natl. Park app helps to follow along some of the high points that are preserved within the park.

We did the booklets for junior rangers- ages 13-6 and it was fun. The books will be updated to the park for better outlining they stated, as it was a bit all over the place where to find the clues. The staff were super friendly & engaging. We absorbed history & discussed many aspects of war and the struggles as well as that each longed for home. They had audio to listen to writings. The only downfall we had was the field being sprayed where the tombstones were and figuring how to maneuver out without inhaling or getting on shoes. Cross walks have buttons you press to alert passing street to different portions to the park. Very clean bathrooms and great gift shop. Highly recommend the park.

Ive been going to The Mint casino, Franklin, TN for a year now. I love this casino’s atmosphere but I have been in there almost every weekend playing high bets and have not won any good money! The most I’ve won was $1,875 and Ive spent THOUSANDs of dollars in this place. I have a membership/rewards card and I’ve been Gold, platinum, Diamond 3 times! Have never won a Major or jackpot. The payouts are ridiculous! You have to keep feeding the Machine for free spins to still not win any good money. I thought casinos would keep up with their members and reward those that consistently come back because it is a business! They have to do better with people who’s in there playing all the time for the love of just being at their casino. We are the people that consistently come back! Unfortunately for them I’m not going back. They made too much money off me for small payouts. ✌🏾

The Mint is always fun, clean, and safe. I go late morning, every 6 weeks or so. Yesterday I had $5 in free slot play, and hit the Lucky Leprechaun for $50.60 just playing minimum bet, then hit it again for $35.25. No wonder it's always occupied and couples "tag team it" so no one can get on it!
Moved to my other favorite machine near the restrooms (big white tiger on front display), put in 2 $5 bills, got a bonus round, hit it for $55.70. Not bad for an hour of fun! They have a lot of fun perks for slot club members, not crowded weekdays. There were bonus round bells going off all around me. I hear the birthday perks are also great - a friend got $200 cash + $75 free slot play, then hit a PacMan machine for $240!!

We were just traveling through and we saw a billboard and we thought we would stop. It seems like a pretty new place. Was very clean it wasn't too smoky, but it was early on a Sunday when we were traveling and maybe all the smokers weren't there yet. They did have a non-smoking area up on the second floor, but it was very small and very few games. My husband and I being non-smokers, my husband an ex-smoker we really would like to see casinos really expand their non-smoking areas.

We arrived late to town during business travel. This was pretty much the only place open serving drinks and dinner. The happy place we found was down by the DJ. Dancing is fun whether you are winning or losing.

I love the atmosphere and ease of the games. I just need to be more careful with the bets. Not every game is the same minimum bet. However, it's still a great place to visit, and don't forget to join the players club! I love the promotions they have going on. Bingo is upstiars. The friendliness of the game was so refreshing. Plenty of time to dab your cards, and they have electronic bingo! Will be trying that out next time. If you get hungry, the cafe has a great burger! The Mint Cheeseburger and the Mushroom Swiss burger are super good and decently prices. I haven't gone to the Iron Steakhouse as that is way above my budget. However, i hear good things.

Worst dining experience ever! If the steak house closes at 9pm offer quick options. Waiting in line for 40 minutes. Every table was dirty & had dishes on it. Waited for food for over an hour… when on floor impossible to find a waitress to take drink order. Don’t waste your time go to

To be honest I want to give it one star because I never ever win here but I'm not really that petty LOL. The reason I gave it four stars though is because I'm a semi truck driver and there's no parking for us at all so you have to walk about a mile from the truck stop to get to it. Just a warning it is a smoking casino for all you non-smokers there is a non-smoking area but but it still travels. Whenever I visit there under construction so it looked like half their parking lot was under construction too so not a whole lot of parking but they're still a good amount the casino was clean itself and it looked like they were walking around sterilizing machines so it seems safe enough.

Great place to go when you are ready to lose money. Disclaimer, casinos aren't in the business to lose money. If you are feeling lucky, the place is filled with a great amount of slot machines that have different ranges for betting. This place allows smoking inside and high limit area. There is a full bar inside as well a great food dinning area. The players club staff was friendly and helpful. The cashier's also was very polite. Highly recommend going all positive experiences that is not based on wins or loses.

The Mint Gaming Hall in Franklin, KY is a great experience and a lot of fun. The staff are wonderful and the place is very clean. They aren't just a place to just play slots, they also celebrate people's birthdays, they do giveaways like every hour, and they send offers and free play to you in the mail as an incentive to keep coming back and to let you know they appreciate the people that come out and play. So in reality even if you don't win while you're there playing slots, you're still a winner by everything they just give you for being a free club member. So thank you for everything you do and keep up the good work🙂

Came here to see what a $20 bill turned into. Lost my bill. The place smelled like a mixture of bleach and cigarette smoke. Beer was nice and cold. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Looks like a new restaurant was recently added. We didn’t have time to eat there but I had to at least take a peek. The menu looks originally and includes food you won’t find anywhere else in this area. Check it out!

We have been going to this casino every week for the last year and a half and found it absolutely a lot of fun. It's always clean and everyone is so nice. However, in the last month they've changed the machines and now it seems that they are not paying like they used to. That's a little disheartening though we're not going to give up but we talked about giving it another month to see if it's any better. Coming up here was really a fun part of our lives. We didn't win all the time. We didn't lose either but it was the challenge of each time we went
Now. Not so much. The new machines seem to take the fun away.

My first time at the THE MINT WAS NICE. It's located between Nashville. TN and Bowling Green Ky. I stopped by there on Superbowl Sunday and made it in time for the OT. It was Awesome. TVs were all the way around the bar. I noticed other rooms but really didn't have time. I was able to play some slot machines that are push buttons nowadays. I'm used to going to Derby City Gaming and Hotel in Louisville Kentucky. Not far from the airport.
But I did enjoy the The Mint. Worth checking out if you're in the area. They (The MINT) close early.

Great place to go and unwind from the everyday grind. Only problem is they NEVER have enough drink servers on the floor. And if you're lucky enough to get one it takes sometimes up to an hour to get your drink. But the ones that they do have are always very friendly and courteous. They also have some great new games.

It's a nice looking place. However it may have the absolute most tight machines I ve ever experienced, also the selection of said machines is slim picking. Same machines over and over. Been there 3 different times same results. Stay away unless you like giving money away..

Absolutely love their variety of slots! However maybe it's cuz I'm new to the whole big Casino scene how but it just didn't seem like it paid out enough for me especially not when I can just go to Baxter from Cookeville and when at least my money back nearly every time if not double it why go nearly 2 hours away from home when I can just go 10 minutes away? It's a beautiful place wish there was more kiosk and space though seems like the line just to go to the kiosk to do the promo play took nearly an hour
Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort is a popular family-friendly destination near downtown Nashville. The resort offers an expansive waterpark with various attractions for visitors to enjoy, such as playing in the lagoon, sliding down water flumes, and riding on zip lines. Additionally, guests can rent boats on the lake and take advantage of amenities like the 310-slip marina, BBQ restaurant, dog park, laundromat, bathhouse, and playground.
Love our site 26. We have a shed structure that looks kinda ugly but it acts as a shield from the wind and offers privacy that the others don't. We are backed up to the lake which is amazing. Their are lots of fish jumping, birds singing and a turtle swimming about. The amusement part of the park is closed which makes for a lot less people and activity.

This is a very nice RV park. It’s pricey but has some nice features. The staff was very friendly. The roads are in good shape. Easy access off of the highway. The sites are paved and didn’t require any leveling of the RV. The lakeside views are beautiful. Our site was clean. However…Firewood is way overpriced. The fire pits need to be replaced. The cabins are okay. Also overpriced. Very nice layout but needed deep cleaning…cobwebs, dusty blinds, dead bugs, and poor amenities (broken coffee pot, mismatched flatware, barely enough personal care items for 6 people). The common areas throughout the park need some upkeep.

We stayed in the RV park. Sites were long enough for our 45’ coach and Jeep. Beautiful views and nice breeze from the lake. Colleen in the front office is just the nicest person! They have a shuttle that takes you to either the grand ole opry or downtown to broadway for just $12 - so much easier than parking down there. Thanks for a great time, we will be back!

Love this place, absolutely alot of fun even for the adults. The only part that wasn't fun for my group was the wait that we had to go threw in order to ride the slides, but it was so worth it. The water park is a little expensive but it's so worth your money. You will have no regrets, promise....

Would like a 3.5 rating but don't have one so we're going to round up. Enjoyed my stay. Cabin was clean but showed signs of wear. (Stained carpet, broken microwave handle, worn finish on floor tile.) Here in off season (mid October). That worked out well for me. Water park closed, no boat rentals (could have enjoyed a day of pontoon on the lake.) Beautiful sunsets, 20 minutes from downtown Nashville, friendly staff. Could see it as a fun place to take kids in summer, just well past that stage in my life.

We visited in April which is still considered their offseason. The water park side of the resort was closed so we don’t have much insight on that part. The campground itself is showing its age. The bathhouse is designed well with however is tired. The actual campsites are average/small size for resort style. The site was fairly level. The grass was patchy and gravel need to be replaced. With all that being said it was right on the water and the weather was perfect. The Resort does offer a shuttle for $12 per person however it never worked with our schedule and Easter Sunday they were not running. (Happy about that)
It’s not a bad campground would be my description.
I think this would be an ideal site for a family with kids during the summer months when the water park is open or for people who want a quick commute into Nashville. It’s about 20 min to DT Nashville.

We rented cabins for a week in March 2023. The rooms were barely adequate. The kitchen, which was billed as being supplied with very basic utensils and silverware, were poorly maintained. Our cabin had a total of ten pieces of silverware of various types. The microwave ovens were working, but they must have gotten a deal on damaged microwaves as three of the five cabins we rented had damaged doors on the microwaves. There was only one burner on the stove that worked in our cabin, as was similar in at least one of the five cabins we rented. The ovens in two of the five didn’t work.
There was no heat in our bedroom. The only heat was from the unit in the main living room. One cabin had gaps around the window unit that allowed cold air in to the extent the blankets supplied were not sufficient. We bought duct tape to cover the holes. Everybody complained about the beds and back aches.
Our bathroom shower had no curtain or curtain rod. We had to go to the office, which was only open from 10 am to 3 pm to ask for them. Nobody was available to speak to before or after the business hours of 10 to 3.
The rooms were barren of furniture other than the sofa sleepers needed to satisfy the number of people in each cabin.
The expense was less in comparison to a hotel or motel, but the savings was not worth it compared to what we had to put up with.

Nice camping sites, easy access , parking pads, and patio are a must . If it's raining, it can get very muddy. Low hanging branches on some sites across from the lake .
Came during off-season. I'm sure it is packed when all the events are open . Probably wont come during peak season, access roads are narrow and the park seems a little old and run down. Book early, booking online is easy . Great system for arrival after hours. However, it's very dark, and navigation is much harder.
Make sure you have water before you get all settled in or try to get a shower.
Might have given them a 4 star , however we didn't have water the whole time and there doesn't seem to be regular operating hours to reach someone.

Went for a work trip, admission normally is expensive for the amount of rides there. There's only a couple rides (fun but not very many for the size of the park) we overall enjoyed ourselves. Didn't eat any food there so I don't know how their food or rooms are, we only went swimming and mostly stayed in the lazy river

Visited the water park only, Probably a 3.5, not bad. The funnel ride was really fun. Nice wave pool with a huge TV that plays music videos, loved that. Not the cleanest, most beach chairs were disgusting. I would recommend it for sports teams in town looking for something to do. Def wouldn't make an out of town trip.

We stayed in an RV site at the Campground. Some of the RV sites have a beautiful view of the lakeside. Campground is generally quiet, there is a water park next doors, but was not really noisy at all! They have live music on select days. Lots of fun things to do in Nashville and the campground runs a shuttle to the major attractions. We will definitely stay here again!

Our lake front site was perfect! The view was amazing! The early morning breeze coming through the RV windows was a welcoming feeling to open your eyes and take in the gorgeous view. The duck wildlife along with watching others jet skiing right from our site was entertaining. The staff was wonderful and security was very friendly and present! The sites are narrow with approximately 5ft of grass around concrete pad. Our site, 32, had a significant crumbling cracked corner so our RV could not be backed in all the way and keep the one Jack out of the crack. This caused a slight concern for parking precisely each day we moved our truck. When walking through the RV sites, you can tell they are slowly working on and fixing the RV site pads with new concrete. We went jet skiing and found the staff to be very safe and patient in teaching new riders. Highly recommend making a reservation. There is a private RV beach, however it would be nice to have access to a pool after the waterpark closes. We happened to be here during several days of a heat advisory for the region and an early evening swim in a pool would have been refreshing. The camper discounts on admission is nice to all the attractions. We are highly considering making this an annual summer spot!

Small water park, good for kids and families. The park includes, wave pool, a small lazy river, some water tube slides, and kiddie areas. Now as far as food options; the park has pizza, chicken tenders, chips, funnel cakes, dip n dots, cheese burgers and French fries. If you're looking for good food I'd say theirs is definitely not a good option. Food priced range in the 10 dollar range. Cleanliness of the park is just ok, it is definitely dated and there are areas that need to be attended to and cleaned or painted. Bring your own towels they do not provide any for their guests. Lockers are available for rental. Cabanas are limited and if you don't book one in advance you're out of luck. But there are a few shaded picnic tables at the entrance of the park. Other than that the entire park is open and out in the sun with limited shade. The beach area is small with a large lake water inflatable playground area. Overall we were a family of 5 and had a blast with two small children.

Season pass and parking is a great value for the money. Attendants are helpful and friendly. Cool new water slide this year but the line was pretty long so haven't made it down yet. Lockers are available to store items but we never bring anything significant into the park, lots of people and no sense in tempting anyone and risk a loss. Can't use the ring floats in the wave pool this year, not a deal breaker but disappointing. Seating areas are clean and it's nice to be able to go out and come back in, so we pack lunch since we're not really fast food eaters anymore. Food is priced fairly and was pretty good the last time we ordered chicken and fries. Lifeguards are fair and do a great job keeping the guests safe and the rowdy little kids following the safety rules. Overall great experience every time we visit.

We didn't stay on property so can't rate the property. But 5 stars on the water park and staff!! We had a blast. We had three generations here. And all age groups had an awesome time. Staff is very friendly. And make your visit fun and memorable. They have several slides to choose from. Both raft and body slides. The lazy river is long and fun. Wave pool has a giant video screen that entertains you in-between waves with music videos n more. We cannot comment enough on how friendly the staff are. Wherever you go they are engaging.
The Hermitage plantation, a Greek Revival mansion museum and historic site, was the residence of Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of the United States. Situated on 1100 acres of land, it encompasses the mansion, gardens with a tomb, former cotton fields, and 19th-century cabins that housed enslaved individuals. A tour of this Nashville attraction provides insights into Jackson's life and character as well as information about the lives of those enslaved on the plantation.
Absolutely beautiful scenery. We did the mansion tour and the grounds access and there was so much to explore. It was really cool to feel you are walking through history and learn about the lives of everyone who lived there. I would recommend about 3 to 4 hours to do everything. We came around 4 and did not have enough time to see everything. I enjoy history and reading everything so it does take me a bit longer to get through everything. If you like just looking at pictures may need a little less time! But definitely give yourself enough time so you do jot have to rush! Would recommend.

The walk around the whole area was pleasant, and there's even a horse carriage ride you can take, don't know if you have to pay as I didn't take it. The price, in my opinion, was hefty for a little piece of history, coming in at $24 per adult. But it was a very nice day out so walking around and looking at old buildings was kind of relaxing.
As for what there is to look at, it's mainly Andrew Jackson's house with a few buildings you can walk into but there's not much in them and they're very small, I believe they have an event we're they play some older sport.
The gift shop was mediocre, mainly books about stuff other than the president.
There's "Wine Tasting" but no one was in there when I went in so, can't give you details on that, sorry!
Overall, it was a good way to waste a few hours of my day, enjoyably.
P.S.
Also, I met two awesome folks from PA during the tour and got my picture with them, however I forgot their names, if you two guys are reading this, feel free to follow me on here and I'll try and find a way to get in touch!

A nice place to spend a couple hours learning about American history. Tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The mansion is air conditioned, which was helpful on the hot day we visited. Such a beautiful spot. Photos are not allowed indoors, FYI.

The website advertises that there is a winery and that you can stroll outside while drinking a glass of wine. I had to specifically ask where the winery was because it wasn’t marked well. Once I got there, I found out I couldn’t walk around with the wine due to construction at the museum entrance. Otherwise it was great.

We had a beautiful April evening to cruise the river! The entertainment was so much fun to listen to and watch. There was a lot of talent on that stage. We enjoyed getting to know the people sitting at our table, and food was good and filling. I especially enjoyed the dessert with a cup of coffee!

We had time between arrival and check in so we decided to stop and lock the grounds. We had about an hour wait before I could tour the mansion. There's plenty to do from the museum to the wine tasting to walk in the grounds to make that time go by very quickly. The grounds are gorgeous. All of the varieties of trees are very interesting. Thinking that some of them are hundreds of years old is incredible.

There is a lot of construction for up dates being done. I was able to get around with my scooter. I couldn't go into the house with the scooter, but I was able to walk and sit once inside. I found everything very interesting. I loved the wagon ride with Greg as our tour guide. Very informative (all the tour guides were), friendly, and just kind. It was a great day. Loved the Bake Chicken in the Cafe too!

Wonderfully restored Mansion with most of it's original furnishings. Well conducted tour of the building with lots of information. The grounds are well maintained and extensive. Great place for a stroll through history and nature.

The Mansion Tour was nice.
They showed a short 25-minute movie about this place and the people
who had lived there.
The mansion was air-conditioned, which was good because of the extremely hot summer weather that week.
The four tour guides were nice and friendly and they gave our tour
a lot of interesting knowledge
about Andrew Jackson and his life
before and after his presidency.
They even politely answered our questions.
And we asked them a few.
It was my first time visiting here.
I bought some nice souvenirs.
Those ladies who worked in the gift shop were nice, friendly, and helpful.
We got a ride from an older gentleman
in a golf cart from the Mansion
back to the Museum and gift shop.
He told my husband
that he could drive for him.
I thought he was teasing;
but he was serious.
My husband talked to him
and we thanked him profusely for the ride.
We were tired of walking,
and it was so hot out
that we really appreciated that ride.
The other people, like us,
were hot and tired,
and I'm sure they also appreciated
that ride as well.
I would take our children
and grandchildren
back here to learn some
of our nation's history.

Very informative and a great experience. Definitely book the house tour. Some certain folks will always object to Andrew Jackson because he was a slave owner, but black people owned slaves too, so get over it, and there was a very close friendship bond with him and those that worked for him. The best fact to learn about Andrew Jackson, was that he owned a parrot, and it had to be removed from his funeral service cause it was cussing at all those present. That's my kind of bird!

Amazing home with lots of history about Andrew Jackson and his home. We did half hour mansion tour which included the grounds. They also have self guided audio tours which you can download on your phone in which you can roam around the grounds on your own. We also went onto the horse drawn tour. We spent about 5 hours here and just took our time wandering the grounds. Keep an eye. You may see a bunch of turkeys or a mole burrowing in his hole.

We chose to do the VIP tour. It was great. I really enjoy having a knowledgeable person explain to me what I am looking at. Otherwise, I just blow past everything too quickly.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I could just spend the day walking outside enjoying the plants, wildlife, and scenery.
The house is really well preserved with a lot of the original stuff. It was very impressive.
We learned a lot about Jackson. His story is quite impressive. I'm so glad we visited. This is one of the better presidential places we have been.

We did the outside tour only. It was great. It wasn't about the money. The difference in price was four dollars. But we were able to self pace the outside, rather than going at the guide's speed. We saw much of the Hermitage's ground floor through the windows. Highlights for us were the history of enslaved people and the gardens, including the Jackson burial cupola. Plus, we visited the wine tasting area. Very nice.

This home and plantation are well preserved. Tour guides were professional and very knowledgeable. The entire of the home is awesome, especially the mural, and how much is authentic.
Well kept grounds and other out buildings. Peaceful area.
The museum was excellent and full of great information about Andrew Jackson and had good information on the slaves he owned, too. Some great insights into life during his time and some details of his life.
Wish we could have taken photos inside (only reason not giving a 5 star rating). I understand why, with 80% of the items there being Jackson's belongings or from his family and so are very old and to preserve them, they ask for no photos.

Real history you can touch walk and sense. Well preserved and restored. 200 plus years of American history. True telling of slave history rarely told or seen elsewhere. The grounds are serene and idyllic to reconnect with nature and clean air.

I came here on a Monday afternoon and was basically the only person in the whole place! I did the “In Their Footsteps” tour and it was super informative, I’d highly recommend it. The tour was about $50 per person but it was worth it. Overall the history is very interesting and I’d definitely recommend trying to visit here.

We enjoyed touring the Hermitage. My son and I enjoy learning about history together. He is 7 years old. I have visited two times, but my first visit was about 25 years ago on a school field trip. This visit was like new to me. We had a great time. The premium guided tour is worth the price. I 100% recommend going that route. We spent about 3 hours touring the grounds and mansion. There is a lot of walking and standing, so be sure to wear some good shoes.

The day was chilly and misty so we didn’t have to wait. It was also early season which can add to less people. The house and grounds are a definite stop if you’re in the area. I wish we were there a couple of weeks later and we could have seen more in the garden.

As a fan of Andrew Jackson, this was an absolute thrill! I loved walking through history and trying to feel it as though I was there. The two tour guides in the house acted as though they were indentured servants forced to guide us through the house and showed little enthusiasm for their jobs. I loved the museum on site and thought it to be a thorough look at Andrew Jackson and his life and home. Despite the despondent tour guides and the harrowing price of admission, I believe this to be a true delight for any fan of history.

Such a fun experience while visiting. It took almost 3 hours and was very educational. The staff was very helpful and kind, especially the tour guide, Keith! Everything was extremely well kept and preserved. The grounds are beautiful and great to stroll around on a nice day

Beautiful grounds and the home is very well preserved with a lot of the original furniture intact. There are horses, colorful flowers, and a lot of birds chirping. Note that this place is Andrew Jackson’s final home and resting place.

AJ'S crib and the grounds were awesome. This place is America's history. Make sure you walk the grounds and the house.
Also, be sure and check out the family cemetery. It's bizarrely interesting.
The staff here were awesome. They were very knowledgeable and friendly to boot.
This is a slice of Americana. AJ's is a great story. From orphan to soldier to businessman to President. Wow. Though, understandably, his policies are painful reminders for indigenous and African American people. Again, justifiably so.
The grounds are immaculate, and the house is even cleaner. I thoroughly enjoyed myself here, and I may have even learned a thing or three.

Very educational. The tour of the house was a lot of fun. I learned a lot about Andrew Jackson, our 7th president. Almost everything is original to the house. There were some things that were replicas, but not a lot. The grounds are beautiful. There are a lot of trees that are huge and very old, and they provide shade.

It is a very interesting trip through history. Our docents were very knowledgeable and entertaining. Our teenagers enjoyed them and read most of the information plaques.

Well worth the visit. Very close to the airport so even if you only have a couple of hours, you can see and learn lot.
Matthew at the ticket booth gave great advice on how to make the most of our time. The greeter (and movie operator) at the main doors was very helpful too (didn't catch her name).
Movie and exhibits well worth the price alone. But then the mansion tour is very well done. It's about a 30min guided tours with tag-team type guiding (different guides for different sections of the mansion). All did a great job and we're very helpful with questions or special needs (we had someone in a wheelchair in our party and everyone was super accommodating).
We didn't get to see it all but hope to attend again.
Btw, If you are in a wheelchair there are steps (only) to the upstairs of the house. If that's impossible, at it probably is if you are in a wheelchair, they do have a notebook with pictures and explanations for you to review while the tour continues in that section. Everything else was very wheelchair accessible.
