This is such a great time!! My family really enjoyed the chill side. Our daughter loves jumping off the cliff. Actually got my mom out there who has never done anything like this. This was our second time and many more to go!! Thanks for the great service and awesome time. The only thing I would do is have someone out there selling food.

This was soooo much fun and such great value for money!! We purchased the tickets in advance and this helped us save about $10 per ticket and also helped us keep our appointment time (others were asked to come back 1.5hrs later as slots was completely booked). There is ample parking space and restrooms/changing rooms in both outposts A and B.
We went on a holiday so the queue to check in was really long. We realize later that there is also a check in at outpost B that is relatively less crowded.
Outpost B is a shorter route and definitely more adventurous with 3 amazing rapids. It is less crowded than Outpost A which is more popular, longer, has many smaller rapids and the rock jumps. We started with outpost B (went through it twice) and then went to outpost A.
Having a stick really helps push yourself in the calm waters! Happy tubing.. we would love to come back here someday.

We had a great time, water was cold but felt good to me with the heat, very clean facility. Easy and quick pick up at the end of ride so you can go again. Price was awesome, would suggest getting one of the paddles to help you control your tube, can't take anything as far as ice chest is just you on a tube that has 2 handles and the life jacket they require you have, you don't have to wear it but have to keep it with you.

Took a large group of 14 ages 5-69! Water was low so some of us went slower and got stuck on rocks, but overall very fun time! Point A is for all family and has a spot to stop and jump off rocks for those brave enough to do so! Very busy, so don't go if you want a serene float down river. Point B has more rapids and is shorter but with low water it was difficult to navigate. Would try again when water is at normal level. More peaceful because less people on river. Float by lots of busy campgrounds and people are in water having fun, but still peaceful. Cost is very reasonable for all day adventure, but make sure to purchase prior to visit.

We had a blast! We went down the family friendly side with my family and we all had a great time. I highly suggest to buy a stick or paddle, it helped us several times. Sometimes the water is very low and you get a little stuck within the rocks and need a little push, or you might come to an area that the water is not moving as much and need an extra little push with the paddle. In the area where the rocks are for you to jump off, keep a close eye on your tubes. We had an extremely rude grown man take our tubes after I repeatedly told him it was my husband and sons, he did not care and walked over me and stole them from us. It might be helpful to have staff keep an eye on this area as I felt very uncomfortable having a grown man walk over me and take my belongings.

My wife and I went tubing here for the day and it was a great experience. There are two separate outposts, and you can do both (and you might as well because you pay for it) and they're within a mile of each other. Definitely kid friendly and even pet friendly (you can put your dog in a special tube if you want) the staff were very cheerful and helpful as well. If you make a reservation online you will save approximately $5 per person. The main stretch takes about 2 hours to float down the river from start to finish while the second one is only about an hour. (2 miles, and one mile, respectively). Highly recommend if your on vacation or even just a relaxing day on the river. You need to either bring water shoes with you or purchase a pair there because when the water is low you have get out of your tube and walk short distances on slippery rocks. I would also recommend bringing a long walking stick or buying one there to help push off rocks if you get stuck. Overall has a great time here would definitely recommend.

Even with a long line and humidity, wait time moved along quickly and we were greeted with a cold water hose and friendly staff. Perfect place to experience Tennessee with family visiting from out of state. Found our new favorite place in the warmer months. We will for sure be coming back.

Great place for family's to have a good time. There was a food truck available to get some snacks with a little picnic area to sit. The store had sunscreen, hats and water shoes available to purchase should you need them. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. The process to buy tickets was quick and easy. Everyone in the group had a blast.

Outstanding service from ALL employees, beginning to end.
No need to buy trip needs from Walmart etc... not only is trip reasonably priced, buy shoes, oar for pushing, dry bags, all competitive prices, they don't trap you at last minute for buying there.
Do not fret crowds, always looked packed when we drove by, we live here, but finally decided to try it with grandchildren visit, looks crowded, is not, plenty of parking, fast moving ticketing, life vest dressing (no add charge), tube and river entry. Crowd breaks up and go at your own pace. All this at july 4 week... wish we had gone sooner.

This 2as one of our absolute favorite things too do... We would have done it a 2nd time if we hadn't already made plans for something else.. it was awesome, beautiful views.. calm floating and then several awesome rapids, definitely plan on getting wet... I recommend getting a paddle or stick.. 10 out of 10 of things to do on Vaca!! Definitely bring a bad to keep your items dry, plenty of calm rafting for pics.. we might go back and bring the dogs🐶❤️..

River tubing was an absolute blast! Outpost A took about 2 hours and was pretty smooth except for a few bumpy parts. Outpost B took about an hour but had more intense rapids. I highly recommend getting a push stick to help you along the river (they sell them for $7 in the gift shop). Also highly recommend a waterproof phone pouch to take on the river with you

Really fun for all! Came with my 5 year old nephew. We did outpost A & B. A is more calmer waters & B is more rapids and way shorter float time. You pay for both though. PAY IN ADVANCE ONLINE. They sell out fast and you will have to wait. The whole thing last about 2-4 hours. Pretty views. Check the website for water levels because we went when the water was average and there were spots we had to get out and walk or we got stuck. They sold “push sticks” and paddles for this reason. So if water is super low it may not be the best time to go. Plenty of spots to swim and there is a really good burger restaurant next to outpost B ! Check it out!

This was our second visit and so worth it. One of my favorites. Great family experience for all ages. Staff is very friendly and a very organized process, all the working parts move smoothly. Recommend booking online and at least a day in advance. Will save you money and guarantee you will have a spot. We booked the day of on our most recent trip and we were still able to get our group of 8 but it is extra per person to book the day of. The scenery is beautiful and a nice mix of lazy, chill floating and other areas that move faster and a little bumpy. The water is cold but very refreshing! About half way down the river is a neat spot to stop and there is a deep hole where they have installed a ladder on a piece of rock. You can climb out and jump in. Nice bit of adventure along the way. There are picnic tables you could pack a lunch and eat on the property before or after you float down the river. The grounds are surrounded by beautiful mountain views and everything is kept very clean. The shop items are very reasonably priced for water shoes, paddles and sticks to use while you tube if you forget to bring any items. Life jackets are provided for all sizes. There are changing rooms as well. You could make a whole day of it if you wanted. Between both our trips we had my 3 sons, my nephew and nieces between ages 5-16 and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Mary Weezie Canada — Google review
The float was nice, except for the fact that the current is not strong enough to keep you moving if the water level is "average". My group was perfectly capable of getting ourselves downstream, but anyone who cannot easily get themselves in and up from the float should not be allowed to go. Our group had to help 3 separate older people get to the exit. They were unable to move because the water wasn't flowing in some areas and they were trapped. Two people were pushed from about halfway and another was helped from the end to the exit. One of the people had previously suffered strokes and his left side was limp for the most part. Why on earth would they allow someone to go if it puts them and anyone helping them in danger.?. They need safety precautions in place and to ensure those going understand they need to be strong enough to get themselves downstream in some areas.

This Tennessee River-based research university was established in 1794 and boasts of a renowned sports program. Sunspot, located on Cumberland Avenue just west of the University campus, is an ideal place for brunch or early lunch. The restaurant opens at 11 am during weekdays but serves brunch from 10 am onwards during weekends. The menu includes Southern delicacies like fried green tomatoes, brunch burger, chicken and waffles as well as vegetarian-friendly options such as the Fat Elvis Breakfast Burrito.
Had a wonderful time attending our first women's soccer match at UT. Great seats, biggest crowd of the season, and they won! Boys had fun and we'll be back again. Concession lines were a bit long but I think it was just because of the big crowd. Very nice service.

Gorgeous. But aggressive parking authority so had to do a driving tour. Watched them slap on a tire boot w the lady coming. So caution. I loved the buildings and checkerboard designs on the clock. Lots of tall brick and trees. Love Smokey too! Again NO PUBLIC PARKING. Said Publix is the closest. Check out the rock and pet the statue dogs.

Amazing Campus! Student guides were amazing! All students we interacted with during visit were so helpful and friendly.
They all spoke very highly of UT!
Simcox Press — Google review
Good looking campus with manageable courses, however university management is sub-par, and less than helpful. Most all student "amenities" are shallow cash grabs, and the financial aid department is slow, unorganized, and fast to put a erroneous hold on your account but always last to the party when it comes to fixing their own mistakes months down the line.

8.26.23 I only visited the campus 2 times, just walked around, shopped at both book stores etc. Parking both times was just miserable as all parking garages were full. The campus was very clean. The shrines to Pat Summit were all over the campus. I heard going to a football game here is an amazing experience.

Family Be aware they sell beer - but is a fun place to be cheering for UT VOLS...
Food and drinks are pricey - they Do cash and cards.
Take clear bags, easier to go thru the gate.

UT Gardens are spectacular! Enjoy a private walk through their shaded tails, or a brisk jog along the riverside. There is something for everyone. There is even an interactive Children's Garden! With plenty of places to rest, either benchs or tables, it makes a wonderful place to sit and enjoy lunch. Take your family, take your friends, or just take yourself for a little alone time to unwind. It is well worth it!

Wonderful park-like location open to the public but owned by the University of TN. There's plenty of simple trails throughout with benches around to lounge in. Plus an area for children to play.
Photos are okay. Pro photos require you to be a member from the School to shoot Professionally plus you'll need an appointment.

My wife and I had a great time at the Tenn/ Ky game on 10/29/22. Everywhere we went the people were nice and helpful.
The Tuckaleechee Caverns are a series of high quality caves located in Townsend, Tennessee. The caverns are more than 20 million years old and have a cold underground stream that runs through them. The cave has over 8,000 entrances and is the highest rated cave in the eastern United States.
The caves are enormous and beautiful. The buildings look a little dated from the outside but everything is very well kept. Staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. The tour lasted over an hour and it was so good we didn't realize how much time had passed until we got in our car to leave!

Our second time coming back. Last time was about 7 years ago. Always a great experience. The rock formations are amazing!! The underground river is awesome, with water so pure you can even drink it. The best part was in the “Great Room” when they shut off all the lights. Pure darkness. Our tour guide was Chance and he was very informative. Lots of stairs for sure but well worth it.

We absolutely LOVED coming here. It was my husband's first time going to a cavern and I'm so happy that this was his first experience. I loved how it was natiral+rugged while still feeling safe walking through.
Only downside is there were some teenage boys who trailed behind the group and would splash into the water to drink some. Little annoying but didn't ruin the experience or anything!
Allison Fyock — Google review
Our tour guide was Jonah he was great! He was genuinely excited to show us the caverns and really loved his job. He made the experience even better. There are a lot of stairs and slippery paths and it's consistently 58 degrees so bring a jacket. There's lots of great views and opportunities for photos and you can even taste the spring water in the second part if you want. Would definitely recommend!

Never would have thought that this was a great MUST DO on my list.
The family owned operations is welcoming and are so nice. The gift shop and history of the area are so interesting.
It's well worth the money for something so interesting and a great exercise with over 400 steps and over an hour under the ground.
Kenneth Buzzie — Google review
This place is amazing! The caves are beautifully lit up and left natural in most places, and the walkways were relatively easy for cave walkways. The underground river and waterfall were beautiful, and there were lots of interesting limestone formations. The staff and tour guides are friendly and very knowledgeable and conversational. Our guide, Abby, was super fun to talk to! Entrance fee was $25 and we got out tickets by showing up on a less busy day, but they also have reservations if you feel you need them. They said they are usually busiest on rainy days. Gift shop is cool and reasonable as well, lots of minerals and memorabilia. 10/10!

Such a cool place to visit! Word of caution for cave goers. 409 stairs total, not for people who have vertigo or height issues. There's a few tight places where you have to bend over. 4ft clearance. My 6' 5" husband made it just fine though. I had my 9 month old baby on my back in a hiking carrier the whole time and did fine.

I'm not sure where to begin with my experience At Tuckaleechee Caverns besides saying it was such an amazing experience! I'd highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide Brandy was the perfect guide for this adventure. Her enthusiasm and countless puns made for a very memorable day. I've walked through a few caves in my life but nothing like this. Oh, and wait till she turns the lights out! A very calming and peaceful experience in itself. Also the echoing in the caves are neat too. I will walk this tour again one day. Thank you so much TC and Brandy for an unforgettable experience!

Lizzie was our tour guide and she was phenomenal. Our kids had a great time and I would go again there are some tight squeezes My boyfriend is 6 foot and he made it through fine and so did my 80 year old grandpa and you do see off some ledges so if you are afraid of heights, I would not recommend also, there are quite a few stairs, so keep that in mind ! I would definitely recommend taking a sweatshirt with I was in shorts and I was so glad I had my sweatshirt or I would’ve been freezing. It is about 50° down there And breezy we also seen a bear right by the parking lot so be cautious and don’t approach them
Sherry Berkey — Google review
My family and I went and we had a blast. Our tour guide was awesome and did a great job educating us all about the cave, its history, even some geology and chemistry as we were walking through! I also appreciated that it was family owned/operated and that many of the fam members were there working that very day. Lots of steps, wasn't hard for me, but if you have any mobility issues it could be daunting.

This was such a great experience!!!
Very comfortable to get here from Townsend (lots of signs guiding you throughout) and they had ample parking space out front.
We bought our tickets (no online reservation was necessary) in the shop and bought some fudge and a Smokies shot glass as we waited for our turn. The fudge is really good!
Lizzie was our guide and she was very knowledgeable. We saw many formations in the caves that have developed so beautifully over the years. The highlights of the tour are when they switch off the lights in the cave and of course, the pretty waterfall. The cave has quite a few steps up and down and in some areas you'll have to bend and walk as the roof of the cave is very low.
We highly recommend this wonderful experience!

This was a very cool cavern! It's very well lit, so bringing a flashlight is unnecessary here. The tour guide was very friendly and energetic and informative the entire time we were there. I decided to bring my two toddlers, which was a gamble that turned out well. The cavern includes a waterfall, a wishing well, and a spring running through it. The path can be a little damp and there are lots of stairs so make sure to wear good shoes.

Absolutely amazing spot. They are a guided tour which is actually a must, because this place is MASSIVE! you will have an amazing experience and love it! There will be a few times where u need to watch your head because it gets to about a 4 foot clearance. Well worth the $22 to enter and I don't day that lightly. You go over half a mile into the tavern, there is a double waterfall inside with crystal clear water, and pictures that are amazing. 100% worth the entrance.

What an amazing experience! Friendly staff and tour guide. Love hearing the history. One of the best caves I've been in! Highly recommend!
Chris Cooper — Google review
These caverns were absolutely amazing and our tour guide did a great job at explaining everything and telling us the history of the Taverns. This is one of those places that I highly recommend, however once you visit one time, that will suffice. If you were claustrophobic or have a problem with Steps, this is not the place to go to. Luckily we had an amazing time it was fun and we got a great workout in. However there were some taller people that were struggling and people that are not good with steps had a little bit of a difficult time because there are over 400 steps that you have to take throughout the whole tour. However this place was awesome!

A wonderful cave tour. Lots of different geological sites to see. The tour was roughly about a mile and took us about 1hr 30 min to complete. I never felt unsafe or in any dangerous situations. There are a quite few steps, but nothing too strenuous. Our guide Brandy did an awesome job and you can tell that she loves what she is doing. Our teenage boys found the tour to be interesting. A good morning well spent’

This was the second cavern I have been to but I really liked this one. Tour guide was pretty good but just make sure you have some warm jacket or sweatshirt on as it gets pretty cool on the cave. Good shoes will help as you walk a lot and walk on stairs or uneven surface. Overall experience was 5 star
Kanae Malbrough — Google review
Wonderful tour that was very informative. Probably one of the biggest cavern tours I've seen, there was a lot covered in the hour long tour. The steps weren't too bad for us and the bats stayed away for our visit! Also we got the peanut butter fudge which was delicious.

I had a great time. Had I researched it/planned it and known what to expect.. I'm not sure I would have done it. 🤣😂 I have a lot of anxiety, and I'm a little claustrophobic. That was REALLY far down and a lot of steps through some sketchy but stable paths... Once I got to the bottom... panic set in... just how far down I was.. and I'm not in the best shape... I talked myself silently out of a panic attack... 😛🥹🤣 told myself people do this all the time!!!! -- BUT, I DID enjoy the tour! It was informative because the guide had a lot of information... It was amazing looking in there, and I can say "I did it!" It was very pretty!!!

I have done a lot of caves, and this is one of the best! I absolutely loved it. Our younger male guide (blondish longer hair) was so sweet and very informative while keeping the cave protected. I loved it. If you can't do stairs very well, be cautious. There are like 200 plus stairs. I did t them easily. Don't miss out! Enjoy!!!

The guide that told us the history of the caverns was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. We went as a school group. The caverns themselves were a sight to behold. The constant flowing water through the caverns was both awesome and soothing. Be prepared for some healthy walking. There are quite a few steps/stairs. But, continued railing to help you along.

As someone that's been to Mammoth Caves, this is a small cave, but 100% worth seeing while in the area. The sounds of the stream running through it is beautiful, with an underground waterfall as well! I had seen another review saying the water in the stream was drinkable, I asked my tour guide and he confirmed. The water simply tastes like... water lol. Would be an excellent retreat from the heat in the summertime as it's nice and cool in the cave.

Really cool caverns. Guided tour was an hour and a half and included large cavern rooms, underground spring, waterfall, and all sorts of rock formations. A must stop in my book. Great option for a rainy day during a Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg stay especially.

The day we visited was very busy and had a line out the door, but we only waited in line for tickets about 10 minutes maybe. The tour lasted a little over an hour. The guides were very knowledgeable and did a great job managing group passings down below. My favorite part was the beach, but the big room was pretty cool too. There's a waterfall, and some very unique formations to see as well. In the lobby are fossils and animal bones on display that have been found in these ancient caverns. Theres also a gift shop with drinks and fudge for sale. Highly recommend putting this on your list of things to do while visiting the Smokey Mountains. There's also a horse riding place on your drive in and out to the caverns owned by the same family. Same level of expertise and professionalism there and another fun activity to do.

Amazing, above expectations!
Compared to other caverns, this one is very wide and open. The largest and longest we’ve seen so far!
The Big Room was HUGE! And the waterfall at the end was a very pleasant surprise.
The tour was not rushed, which gave us enough time to look around, appreciate the beauty of the cavern and take pictures.
Our tour guide Chase was very kind and willing to answer to all our questions. (Remember to bring cash with you for tips!)
A must do if you’re in the Smoky Mountains!

Great place for the whole family to have a history lesson/ science lesson. If you can't walk 400 plus steps this place is not for you. If you need to get your kids to burn off energy this is the place to go. It's a little over a mile hike , going down about 500 feet
Hiking trails & campgrounds in a 717-acre park comprising forests, wetlands & diverse wildlife.
Definitely one of my favorite parks, clean, safe. Over 700 acres of park land with a lake, walking trails, picnic tables, and restrooms. Camp Grounds, near a great restaurant in the park located in Caryville Tennessee surrounded by mountains less than a mile off interstate.

Very nice park with mostly paved walking trails.
Did a drive by of the camping area and most sites are too close for our liking. Some sites are on the water.
The playground looked nice and well cared for. Little Free Library is here.
Storybook Trail around the lake is super cute.
The ladies room closest to the lake were horrible. 3 stalls but 2 were wrecked and didn't flush.

Very beautiful campground right off 75. The roads and many of the sites are tight. We had reserved site 4 without ever being here and we were so thankful the ranger let us change with no issues after getting here since it wasn't crowded. It was way too small and so unlevel we would not have been able to unhook our fifth wheel. Ranger was awesome, they bring firewood to your site if you want to purchase some. Lots of trails, playground, and things to do. The con is they don't have sewer but they do have a dump station.

Noone crowded up together by play areas. Sidewalks reach to each pavilion.Rangers seem very friendly and knowledgeable of area and wildlife they seem to always be close by and very aware of everyone in the park or on bike tracks which made me myself feel very safe , their great lil floating dock where myself or children can conveniently fish from while remaining enclosed from open water sitting safely on bench, they have seasonal boat and paddle boat rentals as well as tackle and paddle boards and boats both .. bathrooms always clean and supplied as well as warm and we'll lit.

For those considering an overnight stay on your way to your destination, or to take advantage of Cove State Park's beautiful Campground, get ready to experience some of Tennessee's best when it comes to nature and camping. I've been coming to Cove State Park campground since the mid 70s. Yes, 40 years ago, Cove State Park was part of my earliest childhood memories. And here I am, March, 2022, 40 years later, and this beautiful park brings back all the warm and fuzzy, sentimental feels when life seemed a lot happier and times were a bit easier. This campground has everything you need to enjoy a memorable camping trip. From the sheer beauty of the lake itself, to all the park's amenities. Enjoy the picturesque 606 acres of nature, to walking/bike trails, to wildlife, to fishing, to ore powered boats, and last but not least, the best (level) campsites equipped with grills, fire-pits for the best nighttime camp fires, to picnic tables, and just beautiful scenery. It even has swings and playgrounds for the little ones, and bathrooms equipped with hot showers. You can't go wrong here. It's just the perfect place to create memories and enjoy your camping experience. I can't say enough about this place. I'm so glad it's still here.

Very laid back experience. Enjoyed the bike trail. We were there during a week with a lot of rain, but still enjoyed the beautiful views of the surrounding area. We love coming here! We come approximately 4-5 times a year. It is gorgeous and peaceful there. On this last visit we saw 5 black bear. The mother and her 2 young cubs walked right beside our truck. We saw a bobcat, several turkeys and had 5 buck walk right beside us well we walked. Such a great time here everytime! I wish I could post the video of the momma bear and her cubs

You can't visit Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge without a stop by Cades Cove. The scenic views and amount of local wildlife can't be found many other places around the area.
We visited on a Tuesday morning and still sat in quiet a few backups. The entire loop took us around 3 hours, with stops to visit the churches, cabins, and mill.
While we weren't lucky enough to see any Elk on this visit, we were greeted by deer, Turkey, and six different bear throughout the loop.
If you have little ones make sure they use the restroom before starting the loop, as the next restrooms aren't until the Mill (about half way through the loop).
Also, pack plenty of snacks and water so that you can picnic and enjoy the nature on your visit to the Smokies.

Excellent historical area. Loved the old churches and old cabins. Lots of wildlife there. Wild turkeys and foxes and loved seeing mama bear and her 3 cubs!!
Great visit in the smoky mountain National Park.

Beautiful place! Was quite congested but it was ok, this is a place you do not want to hurry through. Just a tip: there is a restroom at the beginning, go before you do the tour. There is a bathroom 1/2 way through, which we stopped at. The scenery is magnificent, pictures do not do it justice. Take your time and enjoy. We didn't see bears but we did see turkeys and a baby brown snake. We'll be back in the Spring!! ❤

The visitor center is a great stopping point on the Cades Cove loop road, especially if you're ready for a flush toilet. There are several historic buildings to see as well. If you get the opportunity, I also highly recommend visiting when they're doing demonstrations such as making sorghum syrup.

We love Cades Cove and make sure to drive through here any time we're in the area! This trip we got up early and made the drive through. The wildlife was out like crazy and the weather was perfect!! We saw deer, bears, turkeys, a hawk, and so much more. We love to stop into the visitor center to get magnets!!

I love Cades Cove! We come here each time we visit the Smokies. If you want to actually see wildlife, you have to drive through very slowly and stopping at the many pull offs and viewing areas. Sit, wait, watch! I watched lines of cars drive right past a buck deer, never seeing the deer, which was standing 50 yards away from the road! You have to take your time.

Great park. We saw groups of people young and old run across a field to take pictures near a momma bear and her cubs. We watched for a while to see who was the slowest runner in the group.

Beautiful stop in Cades Cove.
Toured all the old buildings.
Man sat on porch & played music.
The mill doesn't work anymore but the water still flows. It was a working mill when my kids were young. They used to have all kinds of demonstrations & music there. They may still have some in summer but don't know.
Still worth the stop just to walk around.

Always a great stop when in the cove. They offer souvieners of the park and all money spent goes directly to the park. It's a great stop to view the grist mill. They also have a restroom in the area. Highly recommend the stop always worth it and great for information of the park.

Every time we go to Cades Cove, we have an amazing experience different from the previous one. They are all great adventures. We either go in the mornings or late afternoons. These are the best times to see bears 🐻. The scenery is always awesome. Everyone should visit at least once, and you will come back.

Took us two hours to get around the loop. Saw one coyote on the ride, which was cool. But definitely not worth the time IMO. You get stuck behind people in the back of trucks or hanging out the window and people constantly stop (even though you're not supposed to). We also got stuck behind people on bikes, which is also not allowed, but there was no one to enforce it.

More than a visitor center with some antique cabins, creek, and wildlife. The shop itself not that big but the surrounding places are mesmerizing. Suggest to stop by during cades cove visit.

Everything in the park is beautiful. I can't look anywhere without seeing something you want to take a picture of. We saw plenty of turkeys, some bears, and a coyote. It's really worth driving all the way through.

We were most fortunate to have heard over a rangers radio that there were bears headed our way at the visitor's center. Next thing ya know the parking lot was filled! Rangers did a great job at managing the crowd, who were very pushy. But it was an amazing experience and produce some awesome photos.

Cades Cove is the treasure of Townsend. This is a nature preserve and scenic loop. The Cove has many old settlements and an old mill. You can expect to see deer everywhere and sometimes black bears and elk. Bring your camera and be ready to be amazed at the well-preserved beauty of this historic site.

This is definitely the place to go to see Wildlife, beautiful views, fields of Goldenrod & other native wildflowers as well as see & enjoy up close a piece of history.
Wasn't disappointed in any way.
Saw numerous Turkey, 2 coyotes & 5 bears in under an hour.
Clean, stocked restrooms, nice giftshop.
Museum offering educational & interactive displays exploring energy, with a focus on nuclear power.
Four adults and my grandson went. It was very interesting for all of us. Not too crowded on Monday. Some interactive stuff like programming a mechanical mouse in the lab. Lots of nuke history.

I never had the chance to visit the museum in its previous location, however I can reinforce previous reviews that say this museum is very small. It's also hard to tell what age group this museum is catering to. The front half of the museum is very wordy, mature, and packed with information. The back half features many interactive displays obviously geared towards children. It seems like it would make more sense to have more interactive, kid-friendly displays throughout, rather than packed in the back of the museum.
The staff at the museum seemed very friendly and knowledgeable, with some members being long-term residents and/or employees in Oak Ridge with firsthand experience related to the exhibits in the museum. One staff member approached us multiple times to share anecdotes relating to Oak Ridge, which was nice and unexpected!
Overall, I liked the musuem. However, it was small and didn't have as many artifacts and relics as I had hoped. Unfortunately there were a lot of exhibits that only had paragraphs on the wall to read and didn't include the physical objects that really catch your eye and hold your interest.
If you're looking for a museum exclusively relating to Oak Ridge or the Manhattan Project, I think the K-25 History Center down the road is slightly better, as it's roughly the same size and manages to pack more information and more artifacts into the museum. But if you're in the area and looking for things to do, it can't hurt to visit both as they both have their strengths and weaknesses!
Jacob Boissonnault — Google review
Incredibly small, but the fee for entry isn't terrible at $10.00. You could absolutely see everything they have here in less than one hour. There are not a lot of actual relics, but they have a wide variety of 3D printed replicas of items of interest. Weekdays are full of school field trips so be prepared for a bit of noise if you visit during those times.

Super nice and clean little place. The activity areas were nice (although some things were broken). The portions about the history of Oak Ridge and the atom bomb were interesting, but honestly, nowhere near as good as the old museum. My kids missed seeing all of the bombs that used to be there. They would love to go back however.

The American Museum of Science and Energy is a fantastic place that is just jam packed with information, displays, and interactive features throughout - all related to science and energy contributions that the Oak Ridge National Laboratory were instrumental in making. The amount of information will keep you there for a couple of hours, and there are some games and such in the back that could keep you there longer. It's relatively inexpensive and well worth the admission price. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I'd highly recommend this museum.

A neat and fun place to learn about nuclear energy and science. Several good hands on exhibit options.
You won’t be bored and will learn and have fun at the same time. Fascinating and informative video worth viewing. Learn about nuclear submarines and neutron detectors, and have some fun with Archimedes Screws. Learn more about the Secret City and life during WWII.
Exhibits are well laid out, and a lot of time and money was put into this museum and it shows. Gift shop has all sorts of interesting items for sale as well, most reasonably priced. Bring in a few quarters to play the pinball machine. See an entire Army Jeep completely made on a 3D printer (how did they even do that?) as well as a small car and an old robot. Such a unique mix of items that will keep you entertained as you explore the museum. Don’t let the fact that it is at the end of a mall fool you. This place is large and has something for everyone and very reasonably priced to enter. Even if passing through at least put this museum on your list.

This was inexpensive and informative stop! It's small, but don't let that fool you. There is a lot to look at and try.
We gave the robotic arms our best shot and tried the brain games in the back. I wish I had taken a pic of the periodic table of games. It was such a fun room!
All the examples of 3D printed objects were neat to see too.
Can you imagine keeping an entire city secret in today's connected society?!

This museum gives an overview of the history and current role Oak Ridge, TN plays in the nuclear power and technology fields. There are some interactive displays that are entertaining and educational for older elementary aged children up to adults. I spent an hour and a half at the museum and was able to see all of the exhibits. I would recommend a visit!

This was an awesome BSA Scouting trip with our awesome troop. The museum had many fun and interactive activities. We attended A demonstration of the Van de Graaff generator to learn about electricity. This is the hair raising activity that everyone loves so much! The gift shop was so fun with lots of interesting selections. Staff at the museum were so nice and accommodating.
Children's museum offers classes & hand-on exhibits, including a train garden & waterworks display.
We went to my boyfriend's grandsons birthday party. I had been there only once many years ago. The kids had the best time. I enjoyed walking around looking and watching the kids interact with the different rooms. They have done a wonderful job putting this place together. I loved it.

Chaperoned my son's kindergarten field trip to the children's museum. This is a cute little local children's museum with a lot of interesting things to see and do. Admission also includes the Manhattan project museum which I found quite interesting. All in all this is a fun little trip if you're looking for something inexpensive to do.

I found this place to be kind of goofy. It is part Children's Museum part National Park Service. Your park pass is no good here and I wasn't interested in paying for a Children's Museum. I really wanted to see the prefab house they have that housed Oak Ridge workers during World War II, but was not open for visitation. So I walked next door to Highland Park went to the back and took a picture from there.
Hans Johnson — Google review
Entertaining for kids but definitely showing its age. The building dates back to the 1940s and was a school back then. Plenty for kids to engage with but more play than learn--not that that's a bad thing. The colocation with the Manhattan Project National Historical Park visitor center (TN) adds an extra level of interest for history buffs. Even so, while interesting, it's nothing to write home about. Picky's Recommendation: If nice outside, enjoy the sunshine and visit here on a rainy day (which is what we did).

Great place for learning and playing. I brought 4 kids 10 and under by myself and they all enjoyed themselves with the learning play and with all the many different types of exhibits and activities. If you or your kids like history or really any other activity then this is a good place for you. Tickets were cheap - adults $10 children( 3+) $8 and children under 3 free.

Very unique children's museum! It is housed in an old elementary school and they use the school room layout brilliantly to house different-themed rooms. There are some nice sections on the Oak Ridge National Lab's Manhattan Project contribution (which is what brought us to the museum to begin with). Our favorite section was the Appalachian heritage displays and the model train.

A great place for kids and parents in Oak Ridge.
Oak Ridge has a rich history from its WWII starts as a secret city. You can find maps of the various sites to visit at several locations throughout the city. We picked up one of these and the Children’s Museum was one of the first and closest places that we came across. It is in the heart of Oak Ridge and is a true haven for kids eager to explore, learn, and have a blast. The entrance has a foyer where you are greeted by staff that offer suggestions and collect a fee to visit the museum. This is really designed for kids so adults may find few parts of it as interesting as the children will. The museum's interactive exhibits are very nice and are designed to provide children with hands-on experiences that engage all their senses and show a history of the area. From the fascinating Science Lab, where budding scientists can conduct experiments, to the colorful Arts and Crafts Corner, where creativity flows freely, every corner of the museum offers a unique experience. The museum does a very good job of incorporating education into the exhibits. The exhibits focused on STEM fields, history, and nature, children can broaden their knowledge while having a fantastic time. In conclusion, the Children's Museum of Oak Ridge is a gem in the realm of interactive exhibits. If you have children this is probably a good place to visit.

Awesome place for families. Tickets were pretty cheap. Interactive exhibits. There is a life size doll house for kids along with a jungle boardwalk, riverway water play, historical dress up, pretend grocery store, space ship, puppet theater, and play classroom. Could spend hours here. I enjoyed it as much as the kids. Good bathrooms and friendly staff. Also, connected to national park site and has a playground outside.

This place just keeps going and going! We went with our 2 and almost-4 year olds and they had a blast. Lots of fun exhibits, both educational and play based. Our favorites were the life-sized doll house, the spaceship to mars, and the farm-to-table play area. This is very reasonably priced for how long you could spend here. Also, if you have a national parks passport book, bring it for some stamps at the front desk from the Manhattan Project info desk.

24,000-acre park with a scenic observation deck, dense forest areas, hiking & tent campsites.
This is such a beautiful and well-maintained park. We stayed at Big Cove site 12 which has a nice large wooded area behind it. There are a wide variety of trails ranging from easy to difficult. It offers pretty much everything that GSMNP does without the large crowds. On most hikes, we only saw 10 to 15 people.

Absolutely loved this place...my whole family of 9, with a 10 person tent, an 8 person tent and a 3 person tent all fit on one campsite. We had a blast walking the trails, seeing the waterfalls...the campsite has a fire ring and a grill on them, so all you have to do is bring food to cook. The shower rooms/bathrooms were very clean. All the kids loved the playground as well as the creeks they could walk to. It was a great weekend get away for my little family. We definitely plan to go back very soon. Just FYI, cell service is not the best up there, I didn't mind at all getting a break from my cell. 😊

I went hiking to the waterfalls, and there are several very nice waterfalls that are not as talked about on the way. The flowers in this park are phenomenal during springtime. It is a very enjoyable experience and wonderful hike. The views from the top of the mountain were very good. It is quite the hike, but it is definitely worth it.

Did a hike up the Chimney Top trail starting at the ranger station. Spent one night at the beautiful Mart Fields Campsite. The trail is labeled difficult, which is very accurate, but a beautiful hike nonetheless. There was a rattlesnake on the trail between the chimneys, keep a sharp eye. Campsite was clean and quiet. There is a spring nearby, but it is seasonal and didn't yield much water this trip. Day 2 hiked down the Spicewood Trail, very shaded in the morning.
I checked in with the rangers prior to heading out, got some good information about the trails and the status of water sources.

Hiked a 6.5 mile loop. Took us 3.5 hrs, 1006 elevation gain, 19,000 steps. We planned the hike after a big rain so we could see waterfalls during our hike. It did not disappoint. Parked at the north Old Mac trailhead but walked 1 mile on the park road to the Panther Creek and Old Mac campsite trailhead. Headed up to Debord falls then right on a connecting trail to the north Old Mac trail, then down to our vehicle. Many water crossings. Saw wild Javelina hogs (2 adults and about 12 young ones) rooting. They ran away when they saw us. Excellent January 26th hike. Around 50° overcast.

This park was absolutely beautiful. The sites are close together, so not much privacy, but the bathrooms with showers were exceptionally clean, and the surroundings are so beautiful they'll take your breath away. There were several hiking trails available, though we weren't able to take advantage of them since we stayed only one night. The rangers patrolled a few times and were very friendly to talk with. Camp was completely quiet after hours. Very dog friendly. There were picnic tables scattered all over the place on the road in, a playground, and a volleyball court as well. The well-maintained Fort Loudoun State Historic Park is a replica of an 18th century British fort and offers trails for hiking, kayaking, and canoeing. The museum contains exhibits on the history of the fort and artefacts from its days as a military outpost. There is also a short video which is worth watching. The staff are friendly and informative.
I have been to Fort Loudoun twice in my life. Once as a young boy I went and had the displeasure of getting caught in the rain and getting quite ill. The second time, is my recent visit with my daughter. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed playing in the sunshine. We explored the Fort and museum soaking in the history of this area. My daughter most enjoyed the museum tent display and all of the different types of cannons that are in the park. The walking is gentle and easy and most areas are stroller accessible which means that with someone pushing them wheelchair bound individuals could visit the Fort and grounds. The historical film is educational but also a little sad just to warn potential viewers. Overall a great place to spend time. Plan to visit again soon.

This is a great historical state park. I forgot the scale of the British influence in the back country of the young U.S. The French and Indian War, Native Americans, trading, and war. Although the site was rebuilt, the details are great and what is really nice is examples of how the place may have been furnished with barracks bunks, barrels for food, blacksmith and many other buildings full of stuff. Also, there was a ton of trillium flowers blooming. It was a little to early for the may apples

This dog friendly historical fort is the very best I've ever visited in my life, and my father, a history teacher, dragged me to A LOT of forts in my lifetime. The geography is stunning, the fort itself is beautifully rebuilt according to historical details. You can walk into each building, and get a feel for the quarters and facilities. The interior of the buildings is immaculate and sturdy. All structures are well maintained, the grounds are clean, and the views are gorgeous. Dogs are welcomed and accommodated. The museum is unique, intriguing and features a beautiful collection of artwork and artifacts. The rangers are educative, outgoing, personable, and happily answer any questions. They even let you bring a leashed dog into the museum! I am so thankful for such a lovely interactive experience that my children and dog could enjoy!

This scenic, 90-foot waterfall is a popular destination for nature observation & photography.
Incredible! Best hike of my life so far. The waterfall is right there when you park so if that's all you're after, it's easy. But if you want an amazing, relatively easy, hike just go up the stairs to the top of the waterfall and follow the trail. There are more falls and unceasing beauty beyond. I went about 2.5 miles back before turning around. Absolutely stunning!

Oh my goodness, I am not from the southeast so these waterfalls are some of the most spectacular I have ever seen. You can view this majestic beauty right from your car while crossing a bridge, so it is super accessible for anyone. There is also a steep mountain path that ascends to the top of the fall if you are up for some steep slippery steps. This entire area is amazingly beautiful.

During the fall season it was completely astonishing and the colors were truly remarkable. Something I have only seen in books or magazines. It was busy but never seemed to be over crowded. The path next to the waterfall was beautiful. It went to the top along one side, which was a fairly easy hike. And along the other side you hike to the bottom to see the white water rapids. Where we did see a few people kayak. We do plan on a future trip when it is warmer to try this. It look really fun!

It's worth the drive! This is a beautiful spot and the drive to the falls is breathtaking. The road is a little narrow so take your time to enjoy nature. You will want to cross the bridge to reach a parking area.
Most people will walk on to the bridge for that perfect photo!
There are steps that will lead you up to the very top of the falls, just be sure to have good walking shoes on and watch your step.
If you're in the area this is a must see stop! We really enjoyed our visit.

Wonderful place to visit. My only complaint is all the people and a serious lack of parking. However if your patient and don't mind a little walk you should definitely take the time and make the trip. Personally my friends and I took our motorcycles and got some killer pictures. There are trails to hike and paths down to the water if you would like to swim. We'll worth the frustration of finding a parking spot. Also don't let me forget the drive there is very nice and scenic.

UPDATE: River Rd to the falls is washed out and will be closed until 2025!

We visited the Bald River Falls on our third annual Autumn drive on the Cherohala Skyway. The Falls is about 6 miles off the Skyway on the Tennessee side. You could view the Falls from your vehicle, but that would be a mistake. The parking lot is located just past the bridge overlooking the falls. The multi-level fall with a 90-foot drop into a rocky riverbed is stunning. The falls can be viewed from the bridge, or you can walk under the bridge for a broad perspective. The view left me wondering why I hadn't been here before. The Bald River Falls Trail can also be accessed from here for a 5.6-mile hike along the river.

The road up is NOT for lower sitting cars. Even SUVs that sit lower need to take their time up. I made it in my car but it took a while. Lol. Love this spot, it never disappoints!
Angela aka Angi Martin — Google review
Most beautiful relaxing waterfall I have ever seen. It is directly off the roadway. I could spend many hours of prayer and enjoying the awesomeness of nature.
Can’t really do that because it is so wonderful many tourists visit it as a scenic place. It gets a bit noisy because people like to share what they are seeing and feeling about its beauty while they are there.
There is entry therefore no wait time. No tickets necessary no fee. Free as all God’s gifts.
Remember to take your trash with you so it stays beautiful.

Beautiful falls, very pretty drive by the river and the water is super clear in the river. Numerous tiny waterfalls everywhere and you are treated by this wonderful water fall right by the road. Drive up another 100 feet and you will see another 6 foot waterfall.

One of the Best waterfalls I've ever seen!! A small hike to the top is worth the view as well! The sound is so relaxing. Next time we will take chairs to sit at the bottom.

Bald River Falls, Cherokee National Forest, Monroe County Tennessee. Bald River Falls which is from 80-100 feet tall flows into the Tellico river. The falls is visible from a bridge across the river from the Tellico River Road 6 miles from its start off the Cherohala Skyway. Easy hike to reach the top of falls, plenty of parking and a beautiful drive to reach the falls. Consider liking my review and pictures and follow along with me on all my adventures. This is a little out of the way, but if you are near Tellico Plains, it’s worth the stop. The water fall is beautiful from the bridge, but there is also a trail up to the top where can relax and enjoy the sound of the water in the shade or on the rocks. Not a strenuous hike at all. Only takes a few minutes.

2 stars only because there was no way of knowing it was closed until I got within 5 miles of the falls.😞Sadly, we did not get to see the falls because the road was closed but the drive to it following the river was beautiful. Hope that the next time I take that drive the road to the actual falls will be open.
I visited many times and this is a great place to get good information about the places that would you like to visiting

Nice welcoming center, the girl in the front desk was friendly, gave us map of the area and the 25th anniversary coin, restrooms were very clean, the interactive area for the kids was fun.If you are in the area don't miss this stop.

Excellent visitor center. Good historical area with excellent artifacts from days of the old South. Including from early America.

You can visit skyway center and get a free map of the skyway. The route has scenic locations of falls and river and lookouts. Do not miss Bald river falls and the beach at camping grounds.
Good place to visit during fall! We visited this place in beginning of October, colors were almost there. I recommend to visit this place by end of October. The colors were good as we go to the top. But, once we crossed TN and entered NC on the top, there were no leaves. So I recommend to start taking the skyway from tellico plains instead of Robinsville, NC.

Super place! The attendant was very knowledgeable and gracious...made us feel right at home. We got a map of the area (Cherohala Skyway) and a brief overview of it. The gift shop had some great looking shirts to buy, but best of all, there were some locally made items to purchase. We selected an item made by a local potter (Mudslingers) that will make a quality, unique gift for a friend. They also have a nice little area for a picnic lunch or snack out front.

Didn’t go to the center didn’t know about it but accidentally ended up at Cherohala Skyway and loved it so much. Waterfall and very scenic drive with certain spots to swim at like little falls. Picnic area. Very windy road.

Start at the Cherohala Skyway Visitors Centerin Tellico Plains, TN. Absolutely beautiful fall colors!!!! Stay on the TN side for the most color at this time. When crossing over to NC, the trees had lost their leaves or color had passed due to higher elevation as of this writing. Several places to pull over for pictures or picnics at the picnic areas. Be respectful of others as you park or gaze at the beauty so others can also have their turn!!

When we lived in Chicago, people would make a pilgrimage to Michigan each autumn to "see the colors." While quite beautiful, that experience pales in comparison to East Tennessee and the Cherohala Skyway. The drive was blissfully peaceful, and the views breathtaking, spectacular. Y'all probably have one or two weekends left. This is a must see to experience the splendor of God's creation.
Vince Greco — Google review
Never got a chance to go in. We were greeted in a not welcome way in the parking lot as soon as we pulled in. Was plenty of parking spots open and someone told us right as we pulled into a parking spot and ready to go in if we could move because they were saving room for a trailer. We were there in the morning of 11/5/23. We had never been this way and made it park of our fall drive. This was our first stop coming from 2hr, 40mins away. After we were not greeted so welcome we just left. Maybe don’t stop here on a weekend and only on a week day or only if there is no cars in the parking lot then maybe stop in. Sadly we won’t be back this way.

Beautiful ride in the Miatas! The views are amazing. We went a little too early for the colors on the trees but it is still breath taking. My only complaint was the dual sport bikes passing on double yellow lines! There's a posted speed limit of 40. The car in front of me was doing that and I counted 7 bikes that pasted and squeezed between us and then passed each of us, we were three and the car in front of us made 4. We didn't let it ruin our day though! Still worth the ride! Start in Tellico Plains and end coming across the Dragon! Be sure to wave at the cameras! Have fun and be safe!

Lost Sea Adventure is a cave tour and boat trip attraction that offers visitors an underground lake to explore. The cave network is well-maintained and the guides are knowledgeable about the formations, making for an interesting experience. The walk up is not too bad and the tour offers stops for breathers, which makes it more comfortable for those who are not used to walking long distances. The boat ride is also very cool and something not often seen in tourist attractions.
Nice to place to explore some cave spots. The guided tours were awesome with lots of information. Don't miss the lake ride under the caves. Claustrophobic need to avoid this. Visited the place en route from Atlanta to Smoky Mountain. A good stop with rest and a visit. Water proof shoes/boots are recommended for the visit.
For the guides: Provide required time for people across all age. Felt being rushed which restricts the time to enjoy the awesomeness of the place.

A very unique place to visit with a colorful history. The boat ride onto the lake is definitely the highlight of the tour and what anyone really goes there to do. Cave system over all was a lot smaller than expected and shorter than others I've been to unless you pay more to do the wild tour. Still an enjoyable way to spend an hour and worth a visit.
Jeremy Baughman — Google review
Tour: This cavern has the cool distinction of being America's largest underground lake. The tour lasts about an hour and a half, and your guide tells you about its history. Most of the tour is on uneven terrain through the cavern, and there are some inclines. There are lights everywhere, but it's a cavern, so it has low lighting. The boat ride was too brief, but I otherwise loved it. It was such a tranquil experience. The water is calm and still, and the fish were fascinating. Our tour guide was funny, but it was difficult to hear him at the back of the group, and he kept a fast pace through the tour. You couldn't spend much time stopping and enjoying the amazing cave features. I wish they gave you more time for the tour, but otherwise, a great experience.
Restrooms: Their restroom building was under construction when we did the tour, but they had a restroom trailer that was very nice, clean, and well-kept.

This cave and lost lake were absolutely amazing. The tour guide was very informative and gave a great deal of history on the findings and the cavern and the lake.
Take time to stop and capture the coolest tours I've seen an awhile!!!
You will not be disappointed.

Lovely cave and boat experience. Clean facility and great guides. It didn't feel as over commercialized as Ruby Falls, so that was a nice touch. Loved the addition of artists like the glass blower and the gem panning as well.

This was an amazing experience! Our tour guide, Angela, was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The hike back up was no joke! But there are benches that the guides will let you rest on. Very open spaced for those who are claustrophobic.

What a cool experience! Very cool cave with really neat features I haven’t seen anywhere else but the crowning achievement is the lake. It is beautiful and well lit. The walking is a bit steep so this may be one to sit out if you might have trouble with something like that but it wasn’t hard for me or any of my children.
Asheli Godfrey — Google review
Great tour to take if you are looking for a cave tour. Casey and Ashley were excellent tour guides that knew a lot about the formations and answered all of your questions. The walk up had a decent grade at parts but not too bad. They do stop for a couple of breathers on the way up to give you a spot to catch your breath. Overall not too bad of a walk and highly recommend. The boat ride was really cool and not something you commonly get to do. Will definitely have to come back some time for their spelunking tour.

As a local to Tennessee we have never visited these caves until today. We had age group 11-73 and we all had a great experience. The online booking was a breeze and so was the check in process.
Our guide for today was Shay (I hope this is her name) and she was amazing. She was so friendly and her sense of humor was great, actually amazing.
The walk down was pretty easy but the walk back up is pretty difficult for older people. It’s the incline that was tough for my mom and others I saw that had to stop numerous times.
The lake at the bottom is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful down there. The water is crystal clear.
I would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this adventure! The cave is so rich in history and beautiful. The lake was my favorite. I will definitely be doing this again. This cave is so big. You will get a good walk inside but not too strenuous. The guide stopped frequently so there’s plenty time to rest. Have fun!

For those like me who didn't know, you take a tour with a small hike through a nice cool cave to a small boat ride then back. We got Angela and her "twin" as our tour guides and they both made sure that we had a good time. They have a small glass blower shop filled with beautiful hand blown customizable items, gift shop, and an ice cream shop that was closed at the time we went.

We had a great time today. You want to have a great tour ask for Skyler. He is very informative and funny. Keeps the tour interesting. Definitely wear non skid shoes. Certain places were slippery. We liked the glass blowing place. Lots of beautiful items to purchase. The general store wasn't to impressed. A lot of the same thing and their mining bags were a little pricey. We were looking forward to the ice cream shop but it was closed. Not much else to do which was kinda a bummer.

We have driven past the signs on I75 for this place for years and finally stopped to check it out. It is amazing! Well worth checking out. Skyler, our tour guide, did an amazing job. The boat ride on the underground lake is really cool.
Note: the walk down to the lake is a little steep and slippery. You can sit out that part, but then you miss the boat ride.

The kids truly enjoyed it. The guided tour greatly enhanced our experience, and we learned a lot from our guide, Emma, who is both funny and knowledgeable. We visited during the kids’ spring break, and many time slots were sold out. I recommend purchasing tickets in advance during peak seasons.

Just happened to see a sign and decided to detour and check it out. What a unique and fun experience! It’s quite a hike once you get started but if you’re able to walk inclines, you’ll be fine. Our guide Devin was fun and very well informed on the cave history etc. and the lake was amazing. If you’re passing through and have a couple hours to kill, go for it.

We had a blast at the Lost Sea! It's mostly a walking tour that takes about an hour and a half. The boat ride was 10 or 15 minutes at the end and there was a long climb back to the entrance of the cave. The cave is huge! Very cool! My kids are 5, 6, and 10 and all three had a ton of fun being in the cave. Be warned: if your kids are like mine, they'll get to the bottom of the cave and realize they need the bathroom...

I homeschool my 8 and 12 year old, and used this as a fun learning field trip. It was more touristy and busy than I had anticipated, but it didn't turn out to be a problem. The cave is impressive, and although I've lived in east TN for 15 years, I had never visited before. The tour guide was funny, well-spoken, and obviously knowledgeable on his facts. It kept adults and kids of various ages interested. I took a few notes in my phone while we toured and gave a little quiz to my kids after, and they both retained the information and enjoyed the adventure. The only heads up I wish I knew was the amount of walking on hills required. The walk down to the water they equate to a 7-story building in terms of grade difference. I'm a few months post partial knee-replacement, and although I was worried about the walking, I did just fine. Do wear grippy shoes though as the floors are worn smooth and would have been a bit slippery IMO without good sneakers. After the tour, I purchased a bag of rocks in the gift shop for the panning experience just because my kids had never done anything like that before. It was touristy, but fun for them. We have their treasures in the rock tumbler now.

This was such a beautiful experience! Our guide was informative and fun. The walk down into the cave and to the lake was breathtaking, especially if you love nature. The walk back up is no joke! Be prepared. Also, make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Specifically, ones you don't really care about. The red clay can and will destroy them.

Our tour guide, Eli, did a fantastic job showing us around the cave and telling us really interesting stories about its history. On the surface, there is also a very impressive glass blowing/works studio. Even though the site is pretty rural, there are nice big signs indicating where it is. We went in the fall, but this seems like a nice outing for ANY season.

Had a great guide named Skyler, he was young but very funny and knowledgeable, he answered any question we had about the cave, I was very impressed with him. The cave and underground lake were beautiful. The walk is moderate in places, the incline is equivalent to seven sets of stairs; up and down, so be aware. Also, because of the red clay, your shoes will get a bit stained. Totally worth it.

Anytime you have a chance to go into the earth, take it! Of course, if it's safe. This place is amazing as I'm sure many are. You take a little boat ride, walk about a mile in total and they even have expert level caves to explore outside of the guided tour.

I loved this place. Our guide, JD, was awesome and super knowledgeable! The boats are awesome and I would say this is an all around activity that is good for young children to adults! I would say the only hesitation is that you have to walk all the way to the bottom and then all the way back up and that is a bit tricky if you have mobility issues. Had a blast and will be coming again if we have more family in town!
Dramatic waterfall backed by a weather-carved rock amphitheater, plus a hiking trail.
I can't even begin to explain how beautiful this place is. My husband and I were in Tennessee for a week for vacation and visiting this place was hands down our favorite experience. We loved exploring and Hiking over rocks. There's not really a trail so you get to create your own little Adventure which was really awesome to experience!! The waterfall was absolutely gorgeous!!!! Definitely will be coming back! ❤️

This is a place we visit several times a year and never tire if it. I really love going shortly after heavy rains to really watch the glory of the waterfall!
There are some really neat railroad bridges across the street where there is also additional parking. It's a neat place for some pics as well.
The top of the falls are just as pretty as hiking to the bottom. When the water is a little lower you can walk around the top and upstream some. Beautiful colors and scenic places.
The bottom of the falls can be reached with a short hike down the road from the main parking area. It is a little steep and can be slippery so be careful or have some help. I usually have to help just the younger kids or inexperienced, but it's well worth the cool water to swim in!
Pics are courtesy of my beautiful girlfriend on Instagram wander_witch_way.

Love coming here!! Easy access to the top of the waterfall from the parking lot right across the road. It’s a short, slightly treacherous hike to get to the base of the waterfall. Just be careful to not turn down any side roads though…the locals have signs up to protect their lands.

Very beautiful, rugged, steep trail in places, but not too long of a hike. It's absolutely worth the thigh burn coming back out from the bottom of the falls. You can see the entire falls from the top a couple of different ways. The trail to the top of the waterfall is short and simple, unless you have issues with balance because you're walking across the top of giant slabs of uneven rock surfaces. There's also a way to walk down along the side of the road for a little ways, to the right of the trail entrance, where there is a small patch of gravel where most the waterfall can be seen from a distance in the fall when leaves a scarce.

Absolutely GORGEOUS!! Parking area very close to the short, but steep way down to the base of the falls. Nice pathways found following the water downstream from the falls with absolutely stunning beauty and rock formations. We spent a couple of hours just exploring the area and appreciating its beauty.
Trek back uphill is moderate intensity, but easily doable for most people without heart or lung issues as long as they stop to rest when needed.
A MUST DO!!

This is my favorite spot in East Tennessee. It is tranquil and awe- inspiring, and my dogs love to swim here.
The paths to views from top or bottom are both very short, but the path down to the pool at bottom of falls is steep and challenging. Rocks surrounding the pool stay wet and are slippery.
Parking is limited to about 7 cars, with some additional space across the highway.
Trash cans and a port-o-potty would be quite helpful but the state does not have resources to manage either of them. Humans do not practice "leave no trace."

A gorgeous, easily accessible waterfall. Visiting the top of Ozone is just a short walk. Visiting the bottom - and the entire basin is beautiful - is a short but steep hike, mostly walking on rocks "steps". We've stopped by the falls for a quick visit to the top several times, but we hadn't been to the bottom in about 30 years, when we repelled down with people we'd just met!

This is a great outfitter! Amy is the best guide! We had a fabulous time and were busy paddling the River, Amy knew so much about the area and history of the TVA. My two daughters and I went on the middle river half day (3.5 hours ) trip with our guide Casey. We were on a raft with a mom and her two daughters. It was a great experience, exciting, and fun. Great guidance from Casey and made us comfortable with this adventure experience. It was a great time. My daughters are 16 and 12, and while barely old enough (12 is the cut off) my younger daughter had a blast and felt very comfortable with the experience. My group and I came in the early morning Sunday and already this place was packed (not in a bad way). Paul was our guide and we honestly LOVED him so much! He cracked jokes left and right with no hesitation and kept the energy flowing. He was so thorough with explanations and gave us compliments that boosted our energy. During the lower grade water flow, he would have conversations with us and made us feel like we were not strangers or tourists.
There were plenty of parking spaces that were 15 - 30 feet away that gets you straight to the front of the center so don’t worry if you have to park in the “additional parking” zone, everything is conveniently close. There were detailed signs to navigate you towards different areas of the center, which was a small cozy size so you won’t be lost anyways with lots of tree shade! All employees were so kind and nice with lots of energy to help you sponge up for the rafting session. Time was smoothly ran from the moment you check in, tutorial, bus ride, rafting, and journey back. The rapids that we experienced were ranged from 1-4.
Our group had a BLAST!!! And we can’t wait to book our next tour! You guys have to try out this place, most definitely worth our time.

We had a great time and would highly recommend this outfitter. Our guide, Drew (aka Snapple), was very informative about the river & etc., interactive with our group, had us spinning when we could (which was so much fun), and most importantly, made sure we were safe the entire time. The only thing I would do differently is do the whole day, rather than the half!

This was our first time rafting. I in particular have a pretty strong fear of drowning and I have to say given the weather conditions (torrential downpour, thunder, and wind) , if it weren’t for our guide, I am sure I would have been one to want to pull off to the side and get out. Our guide, Paul S., was amazing! He was light hearted and kept things fun, yet when it was time to be serious, he gave clear instructions and made me especially feel very safe. 10/10 Recommend this establishment. They also have showers on site if you’d like to clean up right away. We went on a Monday which worked out great.

My favorite outfitter I’ve ever toured with! This river is incredible, certainly one of the best on the east coast. It’s intense and beautiful the whole way, plenty of excitement with sections of nonstop class III-IV rapids. Our guide Michael was very professional, easy going, good natured and a very talented paddler and leader. We felt safe and had a blast all day. I’ve done a half day in the lower section and a full day doing both sections. I recommend the full day of you have time, it was worth every minute.

Went rafting yesterday and had a great time. Our guide Cameron made the trip above and beyond what we expected. It started in the training basin before the trip where Cameron made all aboard feel at ease. As we headed out Cameron not only described each rapid ahead, but also its name and name origin. Cameron had an incredible knowledge of not only the river and history of the surrounding areas but had great stories of places he traveled for rafting and exploring. Cameron seems to truly love his job and the crew he works with and it shows with his passion for the sport, the history, and sharing that with others. The entire crew from check in to photographers along the river bank to the guides in charge of gear return were all great. Phenomenal operation from beginning to end.

We will definitely be back and hope we get these girls again!

If you’re in the area you HAVE TO take this rafting trip! Our guide Danny “trash man” was very knowledgeable and a great asset to the trip…do yourself a favor and take the “full river” excursion. Our son even said “this is awesome” when we stopped for lunch. Don’t miss the Raft1 water slide either. Dry refreshing and Raft1 made it as easy as possible to enjoy the day with the family. Put Raft1 on your vacation agenda…your family will thank you for making great memories…

We had the best day Zip lining and white water rafting. Bob and Anna were great on our zip lining tour. Dirt was an absolutely amazing river guide. We felt safe the whole time yet we had a blast. We will definitely be back!

Great place for families. There is a cafe with food and you are allowed to bring outside food in. We packed a whole ice chest of food for lunch and had no issue. All of the staff were wonderful. Alisha at the front desk was super welcoming and answered all of our questions! For zip lining we were with Logan, Emily, and Wiley. All awesome people! They were easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, and funny! We felt super comfortable with them. Noah was our guide for rafting. Super cool and easy to talk to. This guy knows the river like the back of his hand and has some great stories. We had such a great time with him- one of the best experiences of my life. Holden and Emily were the tour guides for the other half of our group and they loved them both as well! 100% recommend this place!

This was my youngest two daughters first experience with whitewater rafting. Our guide Jase was awesome. He made the experience for the girls exceptional. We will be back to Raft One. The girls talked all the way home about our next trip and if they could bring their friends.

Our FULL day with Raft1 exceeded our expectations! We started with zip lining. Our guides were Weston and Holden. They were very witty and fun but also very safe.. though we tested their skills quite regularly! Never a dull moment with my family! Next , we had an AWESOME rafting trip!! Our guide ,Dirt, was great!! Very informative and fun!!! Kept an eye out for everyone and made sure everyone was safe!! ☺️ I HIGHLY recommend Raft1 for anyone wanting to have a good time!!! And remember…. You get what you pay for! 😜

I’ve never in my life done this ( water rafting ) and I’m 39, we did a friend trip (5) from Florida and we were nervous as none of us have experience this but I have to say that our guide HOLDEN was the man, he made the experience fun, he kept us laughing, he was very knowledgeable about the river, told us exactly what to do not to get hurt, made the experience so great. RAFTONE IS DEFINITELY A PLACE TO VISIT… thank you guys and HOLDEN thank you so much 😊 👍🏽

We had an awesome experience with Raft 1 ziplining. We were able to call the day off, on a Friday, and get in on the 2 hour zip. Price was reasonable. Gift shop was nice. Noah and Cal were top-notch guides. It takes a specific personality to help people enjoy these types of things, while still putting safety first.
There is a photo package offered at the end which was a reasonable cost and a nice touch.
Go zip!

We took an amazing zip-line tour and it was our first time for that, both in our lives and together. Our guides Gracie and Weston were amazingly patient with us and really humorous the whole tour. Thank you both for a wonderful ride!

Ziplining - our family of five (kids age 10, 12, 13) did the course. It was just us, so was like a private group with 2 really good guides (Spencer and Jamie). Course is really good, lots of long zips. You do have to slow yourself down on several by placing a gloved hand on the line, we didn’t really like this aspect and had never had to do that on other courses. But overall really good and we’d do it again.
Middle Raft trip - just my son and I did. It was AWESOME! Our guide Jace was the best. It was our first time doing this level of rapids and son was scared to fall out, we asked for a safe ride and Jace delivered. Plus they did extra special things that other outfitters didn’t, like slide rock where we got out and could jump on and slide down our overturned raft and a hole jump thing, all of the other rafts just cruised by watching us have more fun. Would highly recommend, felt safe the entire ride and we really enjoyed it. Definitely request Jace.

Jace was outstanding as our guide on our first ever rafting trip. He went out of his way to assure we had the most amazing time and it did not go unnoticed. My 13 yr old daughter practically seems soulless on a regular but she was smiling from ear to ear the entire time. He made sure we remained safe but thoroughly enjoyed the ride at the same time. He was the best guide we could've asked for!

10/10 recommend! This was the highlight of our girls trip! SHOUTOUT TO BUCKY AND SPENCER for the entertainment and excitement all while keeping us safe. We zip lined the first day and had so much fun that we returned for white water rafting the next day! As my first time experiencing these things, I definitely felt confident with Bucky and Spencer giving us directions and guiding us along the way! Would love to come back!

We cannot say enough about how spectacular this rafting company is. I have been coming here every summer with my husband James for the past 6 years, and he’s been rafting with them for the past 15 years. They never disappoint and we always have the time of our lives. We have brought various guests with us, from children to petrified adults to other adventure seekers like ourselves, and everyone always has a great time. All the guides are amazing and you can tell the company takes their time to ensure they offer the best trained guides. We have had Dirt as our trusty guide several times. I strongly recommend asking for him as your guide- you will have an amazing time! Dirt knows every inch of the Ocoee River, is highly skilled, and super friendly. He knows how to show his guests a great time. On one of the slower days, he even took us out to a neat little waterfall just off the side of the river. It was such a lovely surprise and great addition to our trip. Safety is a top concern as well. The owners, two brothers, Brent and Dusty, always greet us with a smile and remember us from years past (they are both very experienced guides as well!) Book your excursions with this outfit, you will be happy you did!

Amazing experience and we was blessed to have a great guide Spencer. Spencer was really knowledgeable about the river and compassionate toward us. He was helpful and humble, funny and make the experience extra fun. Having a great guide like Spencer make things so much better specially for my husband and I first timers doing rafting. For us was a experience that will go in our memories. We was celebrating our anniversary and husband birthday. So happy I chooses raftone.

We had an absolute blast with our river rafting trip today at River Ocoee. Wild water guys are absolutely amazing! Their entire crew right from who checks you in, feeds you delicious lunch to the guide who takes you rafting - all of them are very friendly and have great attitude. They all made our trip very memorable.
I would like to give a special shout out to our guide Alexander who did an amazing job helping us maximize the fun and kept us all safe in this adventurous daring sport. He had a great sense of humor and was extremely experienced in rafting. We felt very safe in his hands.
We will be back again next year!

Visited this wonderful place on 7/2 and we did the middle Ocoee river with guide Mark at 1 pm. For me this trip was very much reliving my childhood as I did it when I was 15, am 48 now. But we did it for my partners 38th birthday with my mom and his brother and the experience was just as amazing as when I was a kid. The river has changed (table saw doesn’t spray up anymore, but that’s nature not human cause) I recommend this place 10/10 would do it again and definitely use them for my trip!!!

We were a group of 4 going whitewater rafting for the first time. Honestly I picked the Wildwater Rafting company pretty much randomly. I am glad we ended up there. They are a family owned company with decades in the biz. That gave the experience a nice, non-corporate feel which we liked. From the beginning to the end it was great. Everyone was friendly and fun while being professional at the same time. We did the middle Ocoee section since this was our first time. Your trip begins with an extensive orientation. As we quickly learned, this type of fun is not without some inherent risks but the guides do a very good job explaining what to do to stay safe on the water. As a recently retired firefighter it was easy to recognize that the Wildwater crews were well trained and took the safety of their guests seriously. The experience on the water was AWESOME! We laughed and laughed and laughed as we rode the rapids. It was so much fun! Our guide was Mark S. and he was excellent! Mark also gave our orientation which was really good as well. We will return soon! Highly recommend Wildwater Rafting.

We had the best time white water rafting. This is the place to go. Our guide, Acacia was the best, she was very informative and kept us out of the rocks as not to get stuck on rocks. She headed us into every rapid with the most excitement. We rafted the course of the 1996 Olympics. This day on the river was great really, we enjoyed the trip. We took the trip for the upper and middle Ocoee river, it is worth the trip to Tennessee from North Carolina. You have a short trip on an old school bus kinda like at a camping before and after rafting, which is a little small for bigger or taller people. We was catered a lunch with other rafters sandwiches with ham/turkey, chips, fruit, water/tea/ lemonade. Then, back to rafting again. The cost was a little over $100 a person. We are going back in three weeks with other family. Great trip!!

First rafting experience and it won’t be the last! We did both parts of the river-great full day activity. I was smiling, laughing, and screaming the whole time. Our guide Acacia was INCREDIBLE- I felt so safe with her and was grateful for her communication and leadership. Lunch was perfect (wish they would have had sunscreen to reapply with since ours had washed off). So thankful for the ability to shower afterwards! Lance, the owner, even stopped us on our way out to thank us for coming.
We all felt like the Wildwater guides seemed much more in control that other companies we saw on the water. Couldn’t recommend more!

Rafted on 7-10-23 with my family. We have done rafting before in Colorado and have always enjoyed it, but this was the best time ever. The river is great because of constant action, and our guide Jon was phenomenal. We took the more adventurous line on a number of the rapids and then would go back and surf some of them. He was constant energy. We got to the last two rapids and he asked if we wanted to take the road less traveled, noting that you could get tossed from the raft. We chose that and all five of us went for a swim. It was awesome. Highly recommend. If you can get Jon, you will have the best time.

Highly recommend for rustic camping, whitewater rafting, and tubing trips.
It’s a quiet place to camp which I love. Sits right on the lower Ocoee and has great tubing trips for people with young children or who want a relaxing day. They also offer Middle and Full river trips if whitewater rafting is your style. They have trips running every day the river is on for tubing and whitewater rafting.
They have a large campground great for camping off grid, tents, or car camping. Lots of hot showers, and ample restroom facilities. Nice store for tshirts, memorabilia, and snacks.
If you prefer a cabin, they have plenty of those, and specialize in large groups.
Family friendly environment. Outfitter was taken under new ownership a little over a year ago (female owned 💕) by a prior employee. The improvements to the facilities and equipment in a year are commendable and I highly encourage visiting this outfitter.
If you go rafting request Dirty Mike 🥰

Highly recommend this outfitter! I'm sure that all of the guides are great, but our guide Brett is amazing! He really knows his stuff! Highly recommend asking for Brett when you go ... you'll be doing some fun tricks in the rapids that you may not necessarily get to do with other guides. You'll get to practice "surfing" on the downstream of some rapids, "bull ride", spins, etc. Brett is very personable and hilarious..... he really works hard to see that his guests have fun. Brett and this outfitter are very safe ... thorough safety briefings and instructions, and safe equipment in excellent condition.

I camped at OAR for 7 nights over a two week period. Their accommodations are fantastic. A quick walk to the bathroom & showers make camping a joy. They have several cabins, but I was camping. I was impressed with their Guide's knowledge and rafting skills. As a first time White water rafter, I was at ease with their captains at the helm. I did more than one trip. OAR has access to a great location just below the dam, for tubing. On my relaxing day, I tubed down with a group. I saw several groups, churches, schools and familys tubeing while I was there, everyone having a blast. I also used my paddleboard to launch at that same spot to go down river. It was fun , not too rough, and beautiful. This will always be my first stop as I leave Florida for fun

My nine-year-old daughter, and I had scheduled to float down the river in a tube, however, the weather didn’t cooperate. Even though the temperature dropped and it was raining, Tyler made our experience very enjoyable. We were able to float down the river in a raft instead of a tube, and they provided dry vests to help keep us warm and dry. Tyler was super positive the entire time and even helped keep my daughter entertained with her videography skills. Tyler has a lot of knowledge and experience on the river and I would highly recommend him for as a guide for any whitewater rafting or float down the river.

We had a wonderful time tubing! I'm horrible names, but I believe one of the kids said our guide's name was Sarah. Anyhow, she was awesome! She had a great sense of humor and they all did a great job of making sure we avoided obstacles along the river. This was only our second time tubing, and we had a few children(ages 10-15) with our group this time, but we were able to relax more knowing that the guides were there to keep everyone safe.

We had a fantastic tubing adventure with Sarah yesterday. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient as she helped our little group down the calm river journey. My senior citizen mother had hurt her wrist earlier and couldn’t paddle well, and Sarah was great with bumping her to keep her on track. From ages 10 to 68, all three generations loved this tubing excursion!

My friend raved about the experience, and I had high expectations going in. The front desk treated me like a lifelong friend, and I felt super excited about the rest of the day. We loaded on the bus and the guides squeezed in for the 30 minute ride. Instead of relaxing, they entertained, engaged, and made us feel important. To me, this was going the extra mile that sets them apart because small details matter. The river was raging, gnarly was the word we heard often, and our guide, CAVEMAN, beemed with experience and a desire to make sure we were having a blast. He didn't disappoint! There wasn't a moment I didn't enjoy and that included being thrown out on "Slice and Dice." I left feeling I have friends for life and a new returning trip for my family.

Despite the delay of traffic observing the Ocoee River, the adrenalin of the Family was with mixed feelings for this year's family adventure. However it was FABULOUS!!!! Ages 21-82. Our wonderful guides were Aaron & Katie. Both of them are extremely talented and knowledgeable about the River and surrounding area.
In addition the entire staff of Cherokee Rafting are amazing. The facilities were clean and the showers are Warm. What we thought would be the Last annual family Rafting adventure now has all of us considering the possibility of having Aaron & Katie taking the family on the Full Ocoee River Adventure. The Oldest that stated "Last Rafting Adventure " beforehand is now changing his decision on The Last adventure. Words can not express how much attention to details the staff takes to insure your family safety and of course MEMORIES of your amazing adventure on the Ocoee River. Cherokee Rafting and staff again THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE AND ADVENTURE.

Had a great time on the full river trip with guide Kat. There didn't seem to be much difference in reviews between rafting companies so chose this outfitter partially because of the 8:00am start time. We were done, clothes changed and leaving by 2:00pm, making it possible to get back to Memphis after finishing the trip. Be prepared to spend another $15-20/person for tip and about $55/boat ($10-$15/person) for photos. Photos are taken from the right river bank, so put the photogenic members of your crew on the right side of the boat and then have fun!

We went 3 years ago and it was awesome. Just spent Saturday with my family on the full river. What an experience, loved every minute. Guides were skilled, knowledgeable and fun. Both trips have been with Cherokee. We'll be back.

I took a crew of 6 friends for a full day rafting event. We had a wonderful time, and had enough time left in our day to get home for out of town at a reasonable hour. Our guide, Nick, made it easy to work with him, and gave us a fantastic experience. I highly recommend using Cherokee Rafting for your next rafting trip on the Ocoee!

Guide Hendley was absolutely amazing. Owner Laura and her husband upgraded our experience and made it a very special day.
Never rafted before and he was an excellent teacher. Patient but still put us through some 4 ranking spots. Can’t say enough- if you’ve never done it - go. If you have - go again.

We once again loved our trip to the Ocoee River. The experience is amazing because of Cherokee Rafting and their dedication to folks having fun while prioritizing safety. The guides are well trained and do a fantastic job. We enjoy bringing our Church Youth Group every summer. You will not be disappointed with these guys!

The trip: the day consisted of a training video, bus ride to launch, rafting and a bus ride back to Cherokee rafting.
The experience: Our guides made this experience a family memory we’ll never forget.
-Katie: Hands down the most knowledgeable guide I’ve ever met. Safety was her first priority. She knew every single inch of the river like the back of her hand. She provided fun facts during the trip as well as a plethora of local knowledge. Thank you Mrs. Katie!
-Laura: The gorgeous gal with the guns…Laura rode in our boat and helped my special needs son stay on task. She helped him stay on cadence with his paddling, ensured he was properly situated in the raft and demonstrated more patience and kindness than we could have hoped possible. Thank you Mrs. Laura!
-Fawn: total badass. Fawn was the guide for the boat in front of us and I watched her work her tail off keeping her crew off the rocks and safely down the river. You’re an all star Mrs. Fawn!
Thank you Cherokee Rafting for helping make a lasting family memory.

LOVE this experience! I first did rafting with Cherokee 7 years ago & just did it again this past week! They have swim shoes, merch, sunglasses, all available for purchase before or after your trip as well, which we took advantage of!
We had Madeline as our guide and she was fantastic as well! Will definitely use Cherokee again next time we're in the area!

Was part of a group that went and honestly, I had no idea of what to expect as I've never been white water rafting before. Our guide Dustin Woods was great, very informative and kept it exciting and safe. The facilities are excellent with lots of room for customers to change or drain before the drench. I highly recommend AU!

What an awesome and exciting experience! From the minute you pull in you just feel a very cool vibe come over you. The campsites are spaced out enough to have you a little privacy but still close enough where you can get to know your neighbors. The rafting was phenomenal, in my group we had some very experienced rafters and some that it was their first time on a raft.Trey was our guide and he did a great job making sure we knew the smart way to do things and made sure everyone was comfortable with any extra excitement that the water had in store for us. Everyone had a enjoyable and super fun trip, with everyone saying that we would be back to do bigger and more intense rapids next time. 10 outta 10 I recommend this to anyone in the area. We came from South East Georgia, practically Florida, and we will definitely be back with more friends! Oh and make sure ypu check out The Bus for awesome food, drinks and live music!!

Our trip to Adventures Unlimited was wonderful. We did not come to experience the adventure of whitewater rafting. Instead, we came to enjoy the accommodations and the beauty of nature. We stayed in the Haystack Bungalow and were extremely pleased. The bungalow has a great sitting area outside to visit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The inside of the cabin is just like a hotel room with extremely comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our stay at Adventures Unlimited and will certainly come back again.

This was my first time to go white water rafting and I must say that it was AWESOME !! The staff was comical and very experienced about rafting. Our guide, Frankie, did a superb job getting us down the river without incident, has years of experience and very good at what he does. I plan on going again next year and will definitely use Adventures Unlimited again. I would like to do the full upper and lower Ocee raft trip next time and no fear in doing so. I've heard no complaints about the other guides and I am sure they are all very qualified at what they do ! I highly recommend Adventures Unlimited for a weekend of fun and relaxation in the Smokey Mountains !!

We booked online and upon our arrival I wish we had booked a camping spot as well. It’s a great location, spread out and quiet despite being close to the road.
There’s a bar and grill on the property, sand volleyball court, and the bathrooms are equipped with restrooms and separate showers.
Our guide was Connor, he was a good guide and made the experience fun and memorable. The only complaint I have if any is that we had a boat with some teenagers who were more focused on talking and screaming at every splash of water. I’m used to the guide placing the more experienced paddlers up front and back.
All in all it was a good trip and would recommend them.

By far the best experience over all. My wife and I took our 14 year old white eater rafting for their first times. Our guide was Pink. He is a whole mood. Taught our daughter how to guide the raft. Such a great spirit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The energy was amazing and the water was beautiful. Great people, great vibes, 10/10. We WILL be back because this staff is TOP NOTCH. Not to mention the bus driver..He drove so amazing I felt MORE comfortable driving the mountains in my own vehicle after riding with him. It was awesome. Just do it. You will not regret it. BIG thanks to all of you. ❤️

I visited for an Ocoee rafting trip and camping. I must have lucked out and gotten the best guide, because Sarah was amazing! The lines she took us down were perfect, and when we wanted to surf features, she knew how to get us onto the wave and spin around into front, side, and back surfs. She was a lot of fun, and kept us all safe too. I highly recommend her.
I tent camped after the rafting trip. I was a little concerned before I got there about the idea of an on site restaurant/bar, but it wasn't an issue. The property is large enough that even with a live band playing, it wasn't loud near the campsites. Plus, it's nice to have food options without having to drive anywhere. I hear from fellow campers that the grilled cheese was a wonderful snack before hitting the water.

Jimmy was incredible! The best guide we have ever had. This was our friends first rafting experience and she was happy screaming the whole way down. He made it so fun not only for her but also the rest of us. He made it an experience instead of just a trip. I know he helps with other aspects of the business but please keep him guiding.

I rented a campsite and pitched my tent. Great location. Plenty of spots for a tent and trees to hang your Eno. Jules the manager is awesome - I forgot my pillow and she loaned me an extra they had. Good food and drinks at the Bus so you don’t have to drive anywhere if you don’t want. The bath house was simple but very clean and is all you need. Now they do have live music some Saturday nights I think, but they stopped at midnight when I was there. I enjoyed it but if you want a little more quiet late night on a Saturday then maybe not the spot for you. But wasn’t loud at the campsite area as band is on the other side of the building. A great place overall and more than I expected, and I’d recommend it to anyone needing a spot to camp. Plus hit em up and let them take you rafting down the Ocoee while staying with them and save driving to other outfitters!

This is the best white water rafting tour around!! We have now gone a few times and every time has been an incredible adventure story lol. Shelley is the best guide ever hands down! But all of the guides there are amazing an experienced. You feel excited and safe and having fun all at the same time. They start out by giving you an intro class and teach you how to do the paddles etc. Then you board the bus and ride down to the entrance at the river. The lunch they serve is pretty good too and they even offer a veggie option. There is also a really fun part before lunch where you swim and float down the river. The water gets colder as the season ends, we went the second time on last day of the season. But what an incredible ride. The first time we conquered the Godzilla rapid was unreal and the second time too. If you stay on the raft or if you flip you will be well prepared and it will be an adventure of a lifetime. We cannot wait to go back next year! They also take pictures the entire time so you have the option to buy one or all of them at the end. Team Kenny!

Me and my group thoroughly enjoyed our time. We went after 3pm which seems is the best time of day for the rapids. Our guide was Dean and he was spectacular. He's a lead guide and knows all the great rapids and key spots in the river. He also know many tricks with the raft that made the experience that much better. He also had great conversation and kept the first timers calm yet brought them out their shells. I highly recommend and ask for Dean!

After a scenic drive to the dam where the rafting starts, we met our guide and learned our commands, and this began our trip down the river.
I won't spoil the trip, because I definitely think you should do it yourself, but just know that it is definitely worth it.
Also, quick shout out to some of our guides, TC Lee, Jack, and Hannah!

I have not had so much fun in forever! This weekend was my first experience in white water rafting and we did the full run - Upper and middle. We had ‘Gale Force’ as our guide and things couldn’t have been more perfect. We also stayed in the cabins - if you’ve not done this you definitely should. Lots of room, clean, very convenient, and the views are amazing. Best part? No TV. 🤪. Thank you for an absolutely amazing adventure. I could not think of a better way to spend my birthday!

I am used to having boring & uneventful trips down the river but WOW if I could have detailed everything I wanted to happen on a trip, it would be this one. Thank you so much Harp ! Our daughters haven't stopped talking about how much fun they had. They are ready for some Class Five with Pink!
Sprawling park with camping & hiking trails, plus an old fort, lake with a beach & horseback riding.
We visited Fort Mountain State Park recently and we had a wonderful time. Since we have visited all 56 Tennessee State Parks we thought we would visit Georgia State Parks. We are glad we went here. We enjoyed seeing the 4 story look out tower. It was a hike to it but not to hard. There is a lot of history here and several plaques are placed so we could read them. From the tower we hiked to the over look. Wow. This has amazing views here. We also drove around the park and we saw a nice lake and campground. There is another trail that goes to a waterfall which is nice. Overall great experience. Can't wait to go back.

Really nice State Park. The trails are well maintained but they are not for someone that has leg or hip issues. The trail at the lake is the only flat trail in the park and is a really nice easy walk. These pictures are from the start of the Gahuti trail and a shot of the trail itself. Picture doesn't do it justice on how quickly it descends down the mountain. This is supposedly a mountain bike trail. Good luck with that.

Lots of hiking trail options with markers, signs, and information boards along the way. Great lookout areas and spots to see amazing wild flowers. There is a stone wall and fire watchtower on the trail me and my babe choose to hike. They have several spots to have a nice picnic or even a quick snack and water break. There are camping sites and I believe possible cabins here as well. Being honest other then knowing they are there, I've got no other information about camping or cabins. I definitely recommend this place for hiking and views though.

We went on a quiet Friday afternoon and the trails were nicely sparse. Cool springs overlook is a paved less than 5 minute stroll to a beautiful overlook looking at the east side of the Chattahoochee national Forest. We hopped back in our vehicle and made a short quick drive up further and went up to the West overlook where the Stone Tower trail also is. The trails are yellow blazer and after you walk about 15 minutes you will come to a Y. Taking the left to the West overlook. It's beautiful. Altogether it's a easy/moderate 25 minutes to the West overlook, but I would not want to be on the trail when it's wet as it's somewhat rocky and rooty There's an impressive series of stairs and deck cantilevered over the lookout. Overall very nice trails.

What a nice place to bring the kids to swim and have some fun. Bring a lunch and some drinks. You can just chill out on the beach or do some boating very relaxing! They have bathrooms and a snack bar. They are remodeling a building there. I'm not sure what it was, but it's big. Enjoy

We had a good time exploring just a small part of this park. We hiked to an overlook, the tower, and the stone wall. Our trail wasn't too long, moderately challenging, and well marked. The park is pretty well maintained. There were other hikes near a lake it looks like as well as much longer hikes, bike, and horse trails. Wish we had time for more.
Paul and Lillian Bruns — Google review
What a peaceful and beautiful place!! This whole campground is nice as a while but compared to other state campgrounds this one doesn't get much attention. The roads throughout are in need of some repairs!
Only one washer and dryer for the whole place, if you're staying lakeside you have to go to the other campground. The yellow papers hanging have been there for 3-4 days and still all the old campers are hanging there. There are electric panel covers hanging with 1 hinge and going to get rain in them. Not one sighting of any of the hosts.
The older couple that cleans the bathrooms do a fantastic job and the bathhouses are super clean.
The Putt Putt ( which needs some attention), paddle boat rental and concession at the lake is only open from Thursday -Sunday which is a bummer.
The staff in the front office are very polite and helpful.
One huge negative is the lack of wifi or cell service of any kind, which some campers may prefer.
The playground for the kids is very nice with plenty of swings and slides, the rock wall is a nice touch!
We will definitely come back.

I would like to start off by saying that we love Fort Mountain. We both grew up in the north Georgia mountains and every time we go home we generally will stay at one of the cabins. This time when we went the cabins had been renovated and they were awesome, however we did not get there until 4:30 PM and the office closes at 5:00 PM. We got checked in and went to the cabin, we stayed in cabin 3. The place looked great. However it soon turned into something else. We had booked the cabin for 3 nights, as we were bring our food and items into the cabin, I noticed these blue pellets on the floor in the kitchen in front of the fridge and the cabinets. Then when I looked in the trash I saw that it had not been emptied out and there was roach trap boxes in there, plus other trash. We determined that the pellets was rat poison. When we were getting ready for bed I turned on the water to brush my teeth and it was brown, not like a little iron brown either. This reminded me of the water in south Georgia in the Okefenoke Swamp! We used our bottled water to brush our teeth. The next morning we went to the visitor center to check out as we were not going to stay in a place that had rat poison scattered in the kitchen floor, roach traps and brown water. The last time we stayed in he cabins everything was fine. The park manager tried to tell us that the water had iron in it. We have iron in our water too, but not swamp water. We won't be staying there again.

Fort Mountain State Park is a beautiful park and may have been the nicest campsite we have had in a state park. The site was nicely laid out and very level. The comfort station was clean and the camp hosts were great. The staff at the Visitor Center were cordial and very helpful. The trails were great even when challenging for some of my more tired joints. We loved sitting by our fire and hiking the trails. I can't way enough about this amazing park.
Bill Bowers — Google review
Very beautiful, peaceful and family friendly environment. No good signal just several spots in the campground and overlook right outside the park. Big rig that is over 40’ will need more experience to locate as the roads between sites are narrow and up and down, we stayed at site #66 that is not very easy in but very easy out. Over all we very much enjoyed our 5 day staying here.

Fort Mountain is our ‘go to’ camping spot. We have frequented the park many times over the last few years and have enjoyed all seasons of camping there. The bath houses are clean and well maintained, the campsites are mostly shaded and private. We love the lake loop and beach. The cabins are amazing for families with grandparents who don’t like to camp. We also love seeing the bears!

Love this place and highly recommend for anyone visiting Ellijay, GA. Winding road up is winding in some places offering great photo ops, especially in the fall, peak being late October into November. Park with lake is very picturesque. It is a big park and the sites are so well placed that you dont feel crowded at all. Of course that is easy for me to say because it was sort of cole and wet so there were not many campers around. 181 Fort Mountain State Park Rd, Chatsworth, GA 30705, USA
State park with Native American exhibits & cultural activities, plus picnic areas & an amphitheater.
Full of history and a beautiful little spot. Nice, gentle walks available and the Blue Hole spring is really something to see,,,amazing color. The cabins and structures built for display help you imagine the Cherokee experience of the 1820's-1830's. They have excellent picnic facilities in a day use area (pavilion, tables, grills) and a second picnic area that is just a clearing in a lower area if you have your own chairs and tables. There is a visitor center with lots of information and some displays. Worth a visit.

What a beautiful, moving, and in some respects, sad place. The experience of the Cherokee is so difficult, but knowing their story and the trail of tears is moving. We deeply appreciated that this was a park we could visit and read about their experience. We were especially moved by the blue spring area and the story behind it.

We had another great day spent at the Park with Ranger Taylor. She taught our small homeschool group about water. We learned how to test the water to see if it is safe for the wildlife that rely on it to live. Then she led us through the creek to overturn rocks to view the water animals. Ranger Taylor is an amazing teacher. She is so knowledgeable. We love the staff at Red Clay. They are the reason we keep returning.

The Red Clay State Historical park is great for walking
Obviously, I'm a runner 🏃♂️ and I managed to do 3.50 miles, but it was slow pacing. You have to watch your steps. That goes for walking as well.
The park is loaded with benches and tables. There many paths as well.
Surprisingly, there is a mowed out path around the park and it's not overgrown. The path is tough, meaning you can run without worrying about an ankle injury. Again, just go slow.
Additionally, the terrain can be climbed as long as you find that Pathway. It's near the blue hole area at which point you can go off into the woods. I didn't encounter any large creatures out there, thankfully.
If you are coming to have a picnic, there many areas for you to do so, they are even labeled for you.
I enjoyed the area, running was fun and the drive from Cleveland was very peaceful and scenic. Got a glimpse of an old Volkswagen bus 🚌 passing me. Beautiful as it matched the blue sky this very day.
Awesome experience 👏
Side note, the restrooms are the best I've seen in a park this far

I recently met up with friends at Red Clay Historic Park in Tennessee, and it was such a delightful experience! This charming park combines the rich history of the Cherokee Nation with the stunning beauty of its natural surroundings. We enjoyed exploring the well-preserved landmarks and walking trails amidst the vibrant red clay and lush greenery. The serene atmosphere made for a perfect day outdoors, reconnecting with nature and friends. I highly recommend Red Clay Historic Park for a memorable and picturesque getaway.

Red Clay State Historic Park is located near Cleveland, TN. along the border of Georgia and was the site of the last Cherokee Council meeting before the egregious — flagrant, Trail of Tears. Interesting place to visit, lots of history around this sacred/historic site and worth a visit if you’re in the area. Beautiful park! ❤️

The Trail of Tears was an ethnic cleansing and forced displacement of approximately 60,000 people of the "Five Civilized Tribes" between 1830 and 1850 by the United States government.
Harrison Bay State Park is a picturesque wooded park located along the shores of Chickamauga Lake, offering 40 miles of lakefront for various outdoor activities. The park features boat facilities, camping options including primitive and RV sites, as well as pet-friendly cabins. Additionally, it boasts a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course for enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy a 4.3-mile loop trail with scenic views of the lake and ample free parking.
The best seat in the house. On the water, next to the bathroom and peaceful. We even had the excitement of the park rangers recovering a honey bee swarm that was right next to our site. The bathrooms and showers were great and the other guests are very social. There is a big bull frog nearby and a small heard of deer that may walk through after dark. Given the opportunity we will come back to this campground again. The site shown is A47.

Beautiful walking trail that’s a 4.3 mile loop with great views of chickamauga lake. Parking is free and there’s lots of spots available. The only downside was that the trail was very muddy (even though it’s been 2 days since it last rained) so be sure to wear appropriate shoes.

As a local to the area, I love the walking Bay Loop with my family and our dog. The terrain is a dirt rocky path. I love the small beach areas to sit and rest. The path is filled with wonderful wildlife animals. Bay Loop is mostly a shaded trail, with some portions visible to the bay. Camping is available within the State Park.

We've been at the campground and walked the Harrison Point trail. We liked both a lot. The trail is easy to walk but partly muddy. We also did catch a tick. Good thing is we discovered it before it got to the skin.

Beautiful park. Four separate Campground loops, A-D. Some with lake(river) at your back door. Very strict on the late check-in (read occupy site) time. We got in around noon ok...paid $46.33 for one night for a 26 ft class c 30amp.

Our first time to Harrison state park we visited the Beach and Picnic Area. It was so beautiful, with clear water to swim in for the kids. We saw many deer and other wildlife, and had a great time socializing at the picnic tables next to the water. We loved watching the kayaking and we will have to go back for more water sports soon!

Very nice state park. Beautiful place on the water. Plenty of bathrooms and open space. Plenty of activities from basketball to swimming pool amphitheater and more. You have a chance of seeing wildlife like deer. We camped here the sites are paved and level. Like most state parks there is water and electricity but no sewer connection. Highly recommended this place.

Beautiful park with lost of option for hiking, fishing, and biking! The park was quite clean and we rode 6.5 miles through the forest and on beaches. Will definitely return!

I visited for the trail. I'm glad I explored away from the smaller trail at the very beginning. That gravel location is more of a walk and read journey. The larger trail is located passed the bay area around a large parking lot. Youll see the trail entrance clearly.
You cannot get lost in this place. Trees are marked with a red square to indicated correct Pathway, plus the worn path is a clear 👌 identifier of where you should be heading. It will take you all the way around, a 4.1 mile loop of all terrain.
If you have one, take a bike. I ran it, but it was still fun. Just make sure to watch your step. On this day, I only saw 1 couple on the trail. That's it. So make sure someone knows you are in there if you go alone because it seems that I would take a long time for someone to locate you if your sprain an ankle or something.
Bring water too.
I enjoyed the trail. Can't say much about the water or the boating. Sorry.
I recommend this place for sure.

Beautiful state park in Harrison Bay. You've got water all around you so dropping a boat, jet ski, standup paddle boards, or a kayak is very easy. If you're camping, some of the spots can be tight with trees so you'll want some extras eyes backing in and out. None of the spots have full hookups so you'll need to be mindful of that during your stay.

Beautiful park! Plentiful campsites, many with paved pads. The spacious and pleasant air-conditioned recreation hall (meeting room) has plenty of natural light, a roomy kitchen and ample restrooms, plus a deck overlooking the pool and lake. Campground area A has 8 individual full bathrooms with walk-in showers, which are meticulously maintained by Robert and Ann, the hard-working and friendly camp hosts. The gift shop is staffed by helpful and informative people who really know and care about this park and its history (thank you, Amanda!).

We love coming here, walking around and playing at the park or throwing the ball. Great place to ride around on the bicycle too.

We overnighter at Harrison State Park on our way north. We stayed in loop A site 18. As we understood, loop A was roomier than the other loops and we would agree. We camped in a 28 ft. Travel trailer and could keep our TV attached. Beautiful sunset and a quiet night sleep. It is a bit of a twisty road coming to the park but no issues with our 50ft. Total length. We would stay again and probably longer to explore what the area has to offer.

Harrison Bay State Park is a picturesque Park! If you go on a beautiful day expect to have a great time! If you take kayaks, the water experience is beautiful! There are several locations that you can drop off on and several parking areas easily accessible! They recently redid a lot of their roads repaving them. They also recently installed a new children's playground as well as a dog park. Both highly recommended, my wife and I take our dog walking up and down the road. The road can be busy at times but people are very mindful of pedestrians. I have not seen any driver exceed the speed limit or drive recklessly. Everyone is very respectful there!

Campground A is the best if you want a little space and level sites. Be sure to pay attention to the dimensions listed for each site. They are accurate and some sites will not accommodate larger RVs. The water campsites are the best. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We saw a river otter swimming in our area each night. Great place for kayaking, paddle boarding or boating. It was a relaxing weekend. The bathhouse near site 37 where we stayed was very spacious. If you have small children, it would be very easy to use one bathhouse room that includes a shower, sink and toilet. I would definitely be careful selecting a site on B,C or D. I highly recommend this state park.

I give a low score for the day use areas. None of them seem to have public restrooms. If you utilize the picnic and fishing area near the dog dark there are no restrooms. If you utilize the fishing area at the loop there are no restrooms. The same goes for the day use area at the corner of 58 highway. It seems that only people who pay for camping matter.

If you're a boater/fisherperson, I'm sure it's a 5 star. For us, 3 at best.
There are very few trails- but the ones that do exist are nice.
No pool-rock and mud beach.
Nice restaurant on the marina- kinda $$$.
Nature Center never open, camp store small, but we'll stocked and open daily.
Rangers all over during the day, riding around but doing little else. Never saw the camp host for our area... other guy worked his tail off. Camping Area B extremely unlevel, every single spot... Go for A, much nicer.
Bathroom and showers were clean and of good size.
Very nice playgrounds and picnic areas.
Tennis courts look abandoned, and grass is growing in there.
No one is going the 20mph speed limit, which wouldn't bother me, except you have to walk the roads to get around.
It was mostly quiet, and we saw lots of wildlife on our stay.
Close to other area attractions and pretty convenient to the interstate.
The historic Walnut Street Bridge, commonly referred to as 'The Walking Bridge,' is a revitalized pedestrian bridge that provides access to museums and city parks. It is the second longest pedestrian bridge in the United States and offers a vehicle-free environment for walking, allowing visitors to enjoy panoramic views of the picturesque riverfront.
Worth the visit. At first I wanted to visit Chattanooga but Read some comments on fb about the city and desisted. We decided to go to Knoxville and gatlinburg. But still curious we decided to drive also to this city. The views are very pretty, the city is around mountains. Definitely love it. We decided to park the car and walk around. This bridge offers lots of nice views and good pictures. Take water with you, long walk. It has a few benches and you cross to one part of the city to the other part so its fun.

Pretty cool to walk this bridge. There's also a nice outdoor artificial waterfall about Indian Trail of Tears nearby. Bridge overlooks an island & has a nice park on the far end away from the city. Also beautiful at night. Even caught a couple musicians! It's a little hard to get to but if you pay close attention to GPS you can find a path to it.

Nice view over the river. Had a couple of buskers playing music & lots of dog friends. Safe for the family. There’s a lot of interesting history to read about too. I recommend stopping by to check it out if you’re in the area! The downtown life is great in the area too.

It's a really beautiful bridge but currently could use some TLC as far as paint and rotting wood. But it's a fantastic way to get some exercise and get from Bluff View/the art museum to the fun shops on Frazier. Don't sleep on the Ice Cream Show on the downtown side and all the sculptures in the area.

I enjoyed walking on this historic bridge. Beautiful views of the river and the city!! Plenty of restaurants, shops, gift shops, nearby parks and outdoor art displays such as in the Bluff View Art District are accessible via the Walnut Street Bridge. You can get to the local museums and learn about the local history from the art displayed throughout the area including in Coolidge Park located on the North Shore. I was able to see the Ed Johnson Memorial as well and took some time to learn and reflect. I highly recommend a stroll across the bridge and taking some time to take in the scenic views.

I enjoyed walking the Walnut Street Bridge. I've never walked along a major pedestrian bridge before, so this was a cool experience. Lots of people. There's also a bridge parallel to this one that both cars & pedestrians use. Walnut Street Bridge is cooler looking though. Good times 👍

Perfect pedestrian bridge for people (and fur babies) of all ages. The views all of the way around are beautiful! During the fall/winter, it can be a bit breezy and cold, but with a coat on, we were all still very comfortable. It is taken care of well and you learn a lot as you walk!
Bailey Elkins — Google review
Nice bridge to walk across the river. There is not much scenery from either end, so I am not sure the wow factor or if this is a must do in the area, but it’s a decent walk that will take less than 30 minutes both ways.
Y B — Google review
Very cool bridge only made for pedestrians. This pretty much connects two different areas of the city that are extremely different. You could easily travel from the aquarium, across the river by this bridge. Lots of things to see and it's not too far of a walk. Once you cross there are lots of little shops and restaurants to explore and a beautiful park underneath the bridge.

Gorgeous bridge and easy walk, very safe and good views. There is good busking--one guitarist I stopped for played with bell harmonics. On the north side there is a cool bookshop, giftstore, and other places to stop in before turning around (if coming from the south like I was).
My *biggest* recommendation is to come here to watch sunrise. Absolutely beautiful, worth the early waking, no ragrets.

This bridge is in the upperclass part of downtown Chattanooga. The tourist attraction is biker and pedestrian friendly. You’ll often find people busking and sometimes artists on the bridge.
Gideon LaFlair — Google review
What’s good? No vehicles allowed–making it an excellent stroll for pedestrians. The wooden deck is aesthetically pleasing–it looks, sounds, and feels good. With both the original road deck and sidewalks available, it is generally not crowded–plenty of room for everyone.
What’s bad? While the wooden deck is fun for pedestrians, I would imagine this to be an uncomfortable ride for cyclists.
Overall, this is a fun bridge to cross and is an asset for the city.
Troy Windhorst — Google review
This is most beautiful bridge I have ever seen and walked end to end.
We also waited to see the sunset with ice cream. You can buy the ice cream from the corner shop at the start of the bridge. The bridge is quite old and it’s maintained well. Sitting chair with multiple dustbins available for trash. Very clean and great place for photo shoot and hangout.
Loved the bridge. Parking is free after 6 with coin parking street areas near to the bridge.

The best time to visit this historical landmark is right before sundown. Leave your car in the Coolidge Park area and enjoy a stroll across the bridge as the colors change from orange glow to glittering city lights. If you work up an appetite there are many places to eat at the end of the Market Street bridge.
The Tennessee Aquarium is a waterfront complex that showcases a wide variety of sea and river animals, birds, and butterflies. With interactive shows and cruises, visitors can explore two buildings: River Journey and Ocean Journey. River Journey features exhibits about the diverse fish and wildlife found along the Tennessee River as it flows from mountains to ocean. Highlights include playful otters and a seahorse exhibit. In Ocean Journey, visitors can enjoy a butterfly garden, penguins, sharks, and other ocean dwellers.
I love aquariums and this one did not disappoint. It is divided into two buildings, one for ocean one for river. It takes you through the museum in a specific path so you aren’t going in circles. The buildings are huge. But very fun to explore. My favorite part in the ocean building was seeing the sea turtles and my son loved the sharks and penguins. In the River building we both loved the giant river fish and all the turtles. He even got to touch an animal in its tank. Great family experience. The gift shop is even moderately priced

We all know that if I rate this place any lower than this, it will be shuffled out of sight because negativity isn't popular on this platform.
But here's the truth: it's underwhelming. If you've visited Florida, have been on any deep sea fishing trips, live near a river or spent any time near aquatic or riparian environments, you've seen all this and more. The best I can say is it does provide an adequate insight into water wildlife. If you have not been able to spend time near any bodies of water, it's a decent overview at best.
The ocean section of the aquarium leaves you with the feeling of "that's all?"
I CAN say that it's clean, well managed, and the staff is friendly. The layout and design is nice. It's relaxing and scenic. The buildings themselves are architecturally pretty. Beyond that though, it gets a ho hum shrug. If the tickets were any pricier, I'd say it's not a good value at all. For the current cost, it's a "fair" value at best, and that's being kind.
The pics I've included are seriously the stand out sights. Sorry to be so honest, I can tell they work hard, but the true rating would be a two point five.

Great aquarium and very easily accessible. One of our group members needs easy access ramps to get to things and they had absolutely no problem getting to every exhibit in the buildings. The aquarium is very kid friendly and I highly recommend bringing children here. We saw the scuba divers playing rock paper scissors with some of the kids while they were cleaning an exhibit. There is so much to see to give yourself a few hours to experience everything. You have to get tickets in advance!

I went with my kids and extended family. Let me tell you, it's a must to visit when in Chattanooga. They have interactive pools for touching fish. The staff was inviting and the place was very clean. Just go, don't even think about it. It's good for everyone.

This was a fun experience! I have so many questions! I certainly got my steps in!
The price of the tickets covered the River Journey. Both were very interesting and entertaining. Some parts are interactive.
On this day the penguins seemed to protest our being there... they had their backs to us... (giggles) and the Otter didn't show up at all.
I saw fish I'd never seen and I watch all things nature all of the time.
Masks are required... however not enforced. All employees wear masks.
Parking is tight because it's the only lot in the center of a business intersection. We walked from our hotel.
The food. Food is served, or should I say sold near the aquarium. The place was dirty and well, we ate cuz we were hungry and thirsty... that won't happen again. And just be aware, see the pic, if you order a salted pretzel... a SALTED pretzel is what you get.
The Aquarium and the river Journey are well worth the money. I do suggest you take lunch.

This is a fantastic date spot! I went with my boyfriend and some of his family and we all had a blast. The journey is easy to follow and the experience is beautiful. It's clean, staff are friendly, and it's an overall interesting experience. The gift shop is expensive, but the tickets are well worth your money. The website is still terrible for buying tickets, but we got in quickly with no trouble at the ticket booth.

Aquariums are always on the to-do list, and the one definitely didn't disappoint!
We arrived without really looking online about the tickets, but when we got there, you buy your ticket for a certain time slot. So we had to wait 45 minutes to get in, but it was not an issue cause there is so much to do outside the Aquarium that the time went really fast!
They have 2 different buildings, which are both extremely wheelchair accessible.
They have 2 pools where you can touch the animals, a beautiful butterfly room, lots of interactive things to do with kids, and so much more.
It's definitely worth the trip, and definitely worth the money!

A beautiful and educational experience. You can take the whole family, and there's something everyone will enjoy. There is a man-made creek out front, public access, and anyone is welcome to splash and play. The exhibits are spectacular, from glorious gardens and a butterfly room to the land of glowing jellyfish. I really enjoyed the river side, as it helps to teach our children about the place they live. There are several exhibits on being respectful to our planet. Most importantly, our 2 younger children got away from us in one of the areas with little lighting. The staff was awesome! They were ready to lock that place up tight the moment we told them what was going on. Luckily, the kids turned up about 30 seconds after that. It was very reassuring that the staff took it so seriously.
Plus, you're in downtown Chattanooga! You can grab a bite to eat at any of the numerous delicious restaurants within walking distance after you tour the museum!
Give yourself 3-5 hours to fully enjoy. We will be back. It's already our 3rd trip.

Little pricey but it's a great aquarium! The river portion alone is massive and the size of many other aquariums we've been to. Plenty of exhibits and fun for the family. Kids love the stingray petting exhibit in the ocean side of the aquarium!
Recommend buying tickets in advance so you don't have any wait and have a spot ready for you.

I have been to aquariums in 20 states. This was the first time I have seen a cold water river display. Very unique multi-tiered building. Freshwater side seems newer. Impressive. Perhaps my new favorite aquarium. Many species I have never seen. Saltwater side has one super large very clean tank that winds all through the building. A few impressive tanks on the salt side. But you are done before you want to be. The fresh water side is worth driving or flying in to see. We really enjoyed it.

Nice aquarium with plenty of interesting exhibits. Sadly, the penguin exhibit was being renovated so we didn't get to see any penguins, but everything else was interesting. The butterfly garden was very nice. The staff were very friendly and pointed out interesting things in the exhibits.

We were actually quite late entering and we're not given any issues. We had a lot of fun. The exhibits are perfect condition. The animals all seem happy. I swear some of the fish pose!

This is an amazing aquarium! It's comparable to aquariums in Florida possibly even better. I love that they have the exhibits set up to reflect the location. For example, the penguin exhibit is cold while the alligator exhibit is humid and set up like a swamp. I also like that they separate the saltwater and freshwater into 2 different buildings. It truly is a fantastic experience for the whole family to enjoy.
Brooke Shorter — Google review
A very unique take on an aquarium but worthwhile. Some construction/renovation has areas unavailable. The seperation of fresh & salt water exhibits is good & gives time to enjoy, read about them & mosey along. The atmosphere & staff are very chill & helpful. The restrooms were well maintained and clean. The gift shops were also clean and organized.
The staff that would provide insight at various displays were knowledgeable and courteous.
We split the tour with lunch in between (we ate at Burger Republic across the parking lot from the aquarium & within easy walking distance. It is Veteran owned and operated and i highly recommend). I do suggest starting your tour in the freshwater exhibit as it will take longer to see. The saltwater exhibit is rather quick but take your time in the lemur enclosure, butterfly room and penguins. Lots of laughs to be had!
Overall a great afternoon spent with family!

Our favorite aquarium we’ve ever seen! We drive almost 4 hours just to visit for a day trip when possible. We love how clean and how well the animals are taken care of. Today we got to see divers cleaning the tanks. One diver was so very sweet when he saw my autistic son holding a river toy and signed for a photo with him! That definitely made our day!

There are 2 buildings and a beautifully designed space in between. You start from the tops of the buildings and work your way down, so it is a very easy and accessible attraction. It takes about 3 hours to do both buildings if you don't stop to read all the informative educational plaques or try out the touch tanks. The River building does have more tanks to look at, but the Ocean building has equal amount of entertainment. You do have to pay for parking and there are lots of places around to go eat at afterwards. Great for all ages.

Impressive! Parking could be tricky but we got lucky and were able to park on their lot. I’ve been to a lot of aquariums but this one is so well done. You really feel like you are experiencing the world under the water. Two buildings, one for freshwater (lots of local river info and rivers around the world) and the ocean building. The staff was feeding and explaining everywhere. Really allowed you to see the animals in action. Touch pool as well. Butterfly garden. Admission was around $40 for adults but well worth it for the experience. IMAX movies were available for extra fee.
Also check out the Trail of Tears memorial and the river right outside. Lots of places to sit and enjoy a beautiful day outside.

Customer service was very friendly at the front desk, we had to wait for the 1:00 p.m. tour, so we had 45 minutes where we walked around the outside and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Very nice view by the river made the time go by fast and we even walked through the gift shop and grab some concessions from the snack shack.
The tour is beautiful, everything seemed to well kept, we enjoyed all of the exotic fish as well as all the information that is posted throughout the exhibit. My favorite was the butterfly exhibit, I was told that they had more butterflies in previous moments but I understand during the winter time they can't have a ton of butterflies out. But they were very nice and there were quite a few of them to watch.
Highly recommend coming here, all the animals seem well taken care of and there wasn't as busy as I thought it was going to be on a Saturday.

We really enjoyed our time at the aquarium, it was fun for all ages. We loved the crawl spaces, it made us feel like we were in the tanks. The collection of animals was diverse making it more interesting. We loved how the River building flowed and wished that continued in the Ocean building. Overall it's somewhere we'd visit again!

Saturday crazy busy!! I looked online before traveling. Nothing said to purchase tickets in advance. We had to wait 3 hours before we could even schedule a time to enter the aquarium. On top of that, we had to pay 15$ to park. Ended up having to purchase tickets for the next day and come back because the next scheduled time would not give us enough time to view both fresh and salt water sides. We are not local. Hopefully, this will be worth the return trip tomorrow!!
Follow up, we drove back to Chattanooga and visited both sites. We had to pay another 15$ to park. The salt water side was okay. The older fresh water side was very nice. I have to be honest, it was NOT worth 110$ for 3 of us, but it had been over 10 years since we had been. Probably will not return for another 10 years. The city was clean and there were a lot of places to eat.

Fantastic Aquarium. The split buildings were a cool way to physically transfer you from Fresh Water to Salt.
The Ocean bottom walk through was the best I've ever experienced. Multiple areas to view fish 360° and spots to sit/lay and enjoy.
The river walk was very unique, haven't seen any other Aquariums that focus on rivers in particular. Getting to pet a sturgeon was awesome.

Great Aquarium! We had a blast. There is a lot to see between the two aquariums that are very different one being the ocean and the building next door has native and river fish. Traveled with toddler and was a great space to walk around. Went Friday during the day and there was not many people. Highly recommend stopping. With having picnic outside before we spent three hours here.
All the tanks and fish are well kept. Tanks are clean and spacious.

My wife and I visited the Aquarium on a rainy Tuesday. We did everything except the IMAX show and it took us about 3 hrs to get through all of it. It was one of the best aquariums Ive been to. This is on par or better than the Boston and Miami aquariums. The design of the buildings makes it easy to navigate all the exhibits and so you can see everything efficiently. If you’re visiting from out of town, don’t miss this place! and of course if you live around it, and haven’t gotten there yet, make it a point to go and check it out, you wont be disappointed!
The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway is a century-old vertical gauge railway that transports visitors to historic sites and offers stunning views. Situated in St. Elmo, a charming neighborhood at the base of prestigious Lookout Mountain, this attraction appeals to both history enthusiasts and nature lovers. The area exudes old-world charm with its beautifully adorned Victorian houses, which have also attracted a trendy crowd of young professionals and families seeking proximity to emerging local businesses.
My family and I loved the experience! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. That incline is crazy steep but the view at the top is breathtaking! Nice gift shop with great keep sakes. The speed of the train/trolley is not that fast so if you are concerned about motion, don't worry cause it's not a roller coaster. You might feel your ears pop from the altitude and the incline and the tip will make you hold onto something but other than that, it was a great visit. I would ride again!

We were trying to order online later in the day but didn't have availability. We decided to drive there anyway & but tickets. *NOTE: she said online buying cuts off 2 hours prior to last ride. We missed the train by a few minutes so waited for the next one, but they run every 30 minutes. It's an interesting & pretty, steep ride up the mountain. At the top is an observation deck for a panoramic view. It started snow flurries while we there & was bitter windy so we didn't stay out too long. There's old pictures to look at & the machine room. I was ecstatic to see the vintage advertisement sign for the incline is still hanging on a pole on the way down. You can only buy your tickets at the bottom, the top isn't open for tickets. Parking is $2 for all day.

We went there on a cloudy day and so going up, the view was full of clouds. But going down, we got a view and learned that the incline we were riding was built in 2020. Really cool experience when it is on its steepest. There is a small centennial exhibit located below the gift shop that shows how it looked through the years as well as more nostalgic and older pictures showing how it looked like before near the rest room. There is a gift shop that sells souvenirs and delicious fudge! Also it is a few minutes walk to Point Park and more gift shops about the Military National Park a few minutes from there.

Excellent local attraction. The views are incredible. Reasonable pricing. Cute gift shop. Very clean and well-maintained. There isn’t any air circulation in the rail cars, so I don’t recommend going on a hot day. There were deer and other wildlife right by the tracks. Parking is $2.45 for the whole day.

Make sure you reserve your spot ahead of time. There is no guarantee you will ride if you just pop up. We did wait longer than expected as we did get tickets for a certain time and didn't get going until about 15, 20 minutes later. However, this was an adventure, yet not too much that it was overwhelming. Going up the mountain was not too bad until you got to the steep part. That's when you may want to hold on a bit. A little nerve-wracking, how ever going down was a little more intense. You can really see how steep you are because you are now facing forward. It's a must do once in your lifetime you won't regret it because the view at the top is like nothing else. Beautiful!!!

The ticketing process of online purchase PLUS check-in when we got there was crazy. Not to mention the time stamp didn't mean anything.
The ride itself was good. Have to pay money to get into the National Park Service area at the top. Also have to pay for parking.
I would pick Rock City over this attraction.

After helping my daughter's get over their fear of the height, we had a very enjoyable time. The incline railway was a very fun experience. Lots of things to see. The view from the overlook at the top was absolutely breath taking. We also enjoyed walking to points park.

This place is absolutely beautiful! The line for tickets was fast and easy. The line for the rail car was ridiculous. If you have a large group plan for extra time for the rail car. You may have to wait for the next car if your far back in line. The ride up is scary and intimidating. You almost need a seat belt. The tree line got in the way but in winter I'm sure it's gorgeous! The view was amazing, best I'd seen in a long long time. Price was good, wait sucked but wasn't a reason to skip it. I recommend this for anyone that wants a great view of the city and mountains! The ride down was just as intense, but the line was better. The gift shop was great, but expensive.

Lookout Mountain Incline is an amazing train ride, we didn’t expect it to go up on top of the mountain which was surprisingly amazing. It is a well worth experience every penny pays off. Its goes straight up 72.7 degree. Up station have a gift shop, and eat in spot. You will have a great time.

Wow! This incline railway was so great! It was a little scary at first going up we didn’t know the incline was that high but the views were amazing. It transports every 20 mins. Suggest to get there earlier in the day since we arrived at 4:00 pm and the park and other attractions up the hill closes at 5:00 pm we were short on time
Definitely worth the ride ! Highly recommend it .

This was great! We went up a mile up a fairly steep hil. This was pretty cool because you're going up a fairly steep hill pretty slow and it's a pretty climb. When you get to the top, you can see for miles and the views are beautiful. I def recommend doing this if you're in Chattanooga.

We went during at 3:00 on a Thursday, so there was not much of a wait. I am not sure how busy it gets on the weekend. The trip lasts eight minutes and the cars pass in the middle, so there wasn't much wait to go up or down for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are two decks to view from up top and the view was very nice. I enjoyed being able to sit up there and enjoy the view and breeze. The have gift shops and ice cream at the upper and lower stations.

We went in the summer, and the incline was a bit warm, but still fun. Once you get to the top, it's a bit of a hike to go anywhere. Most of the stores and attractions are at the bottom, so maybe next time we start at the top and ride it down and back up again. It's best to have a car for transportation around the mountain top. There is a battlefield park that was pretty empty, just a short hike from there. Great views, but not a whole lot to keep kids occupied, and it costs like 20 bucks to get in. It's should be no more than 5 dollars, honestly.

The Incline Railway was an OK attraction, it’s basically a funicular, which is kind of a train wagon, rolled by/on a tension cable for hills; the neat part of this is that the wagon itself has to be built with the same degree of incline of the mountain, so you will be level as it is going up or downhill.
There is a gift shop at the top with a lot of souvenirs and goods as well as a couple of places to have some snacks and fresh fast food.
There are two observatories, on two different stories, where you can see a nice view of the city and towns nearby.
Downside of this, you’re better off just going to Rock City and have a similar or even better view, and you can save the price of the ride on this transportation, which it is only what it does, it transports you up and down a hill.
I bought tickets online in advance, not sure if there was any benefit to it as there was no line when I arrived to their booth. Downside of buying online is that you have to be on time, you have a scheduled departure, so if you are late, they may disallow you to board, specially on high season or holidays.
I did not check if there was a difference in price on buying at the premises versus buying online (worth taking a look, I paid $15 online per adult).

This short ride up the side of a mountain in basically a trolley car was super cool, and my grandkids loved it. You can only take it round trip from the bottom up, you cannot just ride it down from the top. At the very top, it is almost at a vertical incline, which you can feel by the way you slide forward in your seat. The little gift shop at the top has souvenirs, a little snack area to grab something to eat, and the best homemade fudge I've had in a long time and the overlook is quite pretty, there is an elevator to take you up to the overlooks. Once you get to the top you can stay as long as you want and walk down to Pointe Park, The Chickamauga and Chattanooga Military Park, just make sure you make note of when the last trolley leaves.
Ruby Falls is a 145-foot underground waterfall inside a limestone cavern in Lookout Mountain. It's one of the most stunning sights you'll ever see, and it's definitely worth the cost of admission. The elevator ride down is amazing, and the waterfall itself is enhanced with lighting and stirring music to make it that much more thrilling.
I came with my boyfriend and we enjoyed our experience! The tourist was very informative, the walk was not moderate, the views were stunning, and we left overall satisfied with the trip!

Dougie D was our guide and it was well worth the entry cost just for him. He made the guided walk super fun, knew lots, and handled crowds and kids awesomely.
If you’ve been to any caverns, it’s not much different except the waterfall here is a treat. It’s accompanied by a light show. The overlook is nice as well and there is a zip line option if you’d like. They also have a night guided option during certain months.
Wear nonslip closed foot gear. It gets slippery and wet down in the cave. Also purchase tickets in advance they sell out fast. We went on Saturday at noon and it was sold out for the day, we had to purchase for next day tickets and return. Enjoy!

Really cool experience, 1200 feet underground which you take the elevator to. The cave tunnels have cool formations with names on the signs near them (however, our guide didn't really say much about any of them), and the tunnels are lit with neon colored lights. Note: the pathway is pretty slippery, the ceiling is only about 5'11 ish high, and the light show at the waterfall only lasts 10 min.

Ruby Falls was such a fun experience. Buying tickets in advance is recommended, as well as arriving 10-15minutes early.
Individual ticket prices (plus tax):
Adults $25.95
Kids (3-12) $15.95
We visited on a Wednesday morning in June at 11am and had a full tour for our time slot. Parking is free but seems to be slightly limited. There were only a handful of spots left by the time we arrived that morning.
The elevator takes you down approximately 260 feet (26 stories) below the surface. The path in the cave takes you deeper into Lookout Mountain, the farther you walk. By the time you reach the waterfall, you'll be 1120ft below the mountain's surface. It is also the tallest and deepest underground cave waterfall that's in the US and open to the public. Leo Lambert discovered it in 1928, after crawling for 6 hours/650ft and then walking/climbing an for an additional 11 hours, knowing that there was something hidden away. He then named it after his wife.
It was an incredible and fun experience. I'd highly recommend visiting. If I'm recalling correctly, it took somewhere between 60-90 minutes for the whole tour, light show at the waterfall, and elevator rides.

Such a cool cave walk, took our group about 90 minutes total. An elevator takes you straight down into the cave where you begin. The experience starts with a group photo that can later be purchased and a short video of who and how the cave and falls were discovered. The falls is on a timer, so when we entered it was dark and then the lights came on and it was sooo beautiful! Highly recommend!!

Bought 8 am Tix, hoping to avoid crowd, and still had 20 or so on tour ( but it was Spring break?). Had a great tour guide, Emma ♥️. We have a slow poke, who required cane assist to walk, and they gave us time we needed. Mile walk to falls, hand rails available in parts, some slick but grooves in path, some steps, but mostly level (for a cave). Stories of discovery, formations and falls come with tour. Recommend to all who can manage a walk, great experience for young and older. Tickets online available. Cafe on site. Visitor center/gift shop. Observation tower. Kid friendly. Kennels on site. Zip lines closed when we visited, 🙄.

Never seen a waterfall inside a cave before. This place is super awesome. There is like 15-20min tour inside the cave with the guide explain the history of it. The waterfall is a must visit if you are around Tennessee. Please buy the ticket online if you want to save your waiting time.

Walk up to counter to pay for the tour. You get access to the viewing tower and a guided tour of the cave and falls.
You enter the cave via an elevator ride a couple hundred feet down, then there's is an approximately 1/4 mile walk to the falls through the cave.
The cave itself is beautiful and the falls are gorgeous.
Parking out front is easy and accessible for all.
Discounts for military/veterans.

We stopped by here for a little stop to stretch our legs so we didn't end up going in the caves but we did go up to the tower to get a look at the view. It was a beautiful place to stop even if you don't do all the activities provided.

I purchased our tickets online per their website recommendations and left about 1 hr in between attractions.
WARNING!! That was way too much time! BUT they were very accommodating and were able to move up our reservations.
Perhaps it has to do with the time of day or the day of the week. We had to push all our activities up by 2.5 hrs. With that said keep in
mind that Ruby falls and the Zip line are on the same property.
Our guide really made the cave walk a fun experience. Joe, was very personable, knowledgeable and had tons of insights about the falls and the area in general.
We started at 12:30, with a group of 13 & that was the smallest group we encountered. We completed the tour at 2 pm (1.5 hr) total. We proceeded up the tower but not much to say as you can see it was a very muggy day.

I visited Ruby Falls in Chattanooga, Tennessee and found the tour and cave experience to be nice, but I can only give it three stars. The tour felt quite rushed, with limited time to stop and take photos of the stunning formations. Additionally, the cave was quite crowded, and there were instances where one tour group had to pass another, making it challenging to navigate. Seeing the cave and the waterfall was cool, but the overall experience left me unsure if I would do it again.

Great place overall but when I went here there was a baby crying so we didn’t really hear a lot of what the tour guide was saying but the our guide was awesome loved him but we went here last here on July 3rd, 2023. Recommend buying tickets in advance of course!!

It was very beautiful with lots of interesting rock formations. We really enjoyed our visit. It is a little bit of a long walk and might seem longer because you’re welcome slow and some areas have low hanging rock. I think it might’ve been longer this time because the elevator was broken and we had to walk extra. Definitely worth a visit.

OK. The waterfall is magical and worth the visit. HOWEVER the group sizes are too big over 30 people per group. We were constantly stopping to let other groups pass. It was annoying and too many people in the groups to fully enjoy the experience. We preferred raccoon caverns. Just an honest review from our experience.

Ruby falls a nice experience. It was different and kind of cool to see the cave and the falls. In my opinion a little expensive to pay 25 dollars to go under grown to see a small fall with a lot of people for one hour and walk one mile round trip.

Lovely place to take a family trip to and enjoy something new. Drove up during the weekends and had a great time exploring the caves. The staff are competent and humorous and the overall location is easy to reach. Just be careful on the drive up the mountain, lots of sharp turns and speeding cars.

Ruby Falls was an underground adventure like no other! As I descended deep into Lookout Mountain, I couldn't help but marvel at the wonders hidden beneath the earth's surface.
The highlight was, of course, the stunning 145-foot waterfall, Ruby Falls, named after the discoverer's wife, Ruby. It's a geological marvel, with its underground formation dating back millions of years.
Did you know? Ruby Falls was accidentally discovered in 1928 during the excavation of a cave. It's now one of the tallest and deepest commercial underground waterfalls in the United States.
The guided tour was both educational and thrilling, offering insights into the cave's history and the fascinating rock formations. Stalactites and stalagmites adorned the cave like natural sculptures.
Pro tip: Wear comfortable shoes for the tour and be prepared for some moderate walking. It's a surreal journey into the heart of the earth and a testament to the wonders of nature. A must-visit for explorers and history buffs alike! 🌍🕳️🏞️

Ruby Falls was a really cool experience and I would definitely recommend it! The total tour is approximately 1 hour (underground). The walk is a little more than a mile round trip and is easygoing. It’s mostly flat, with some minimal stairs. I saw several limited mobility persons on the tour, although it was a longer walk and you could tell they were tired by the end. Minor limited mobility would be alright. Those who have difficulty with walking long distances should avoid the tour because it is walking for an hour with no stops to sit and rest.
The falls themselves are beautiful. Depending on how dry or wet it has been (rainfall) will determine the strength of the waterfall.
Some tour guides are really funny and point out great things. Try to be at the front of the tour or you’ll not hear everything and miss what is being said.
I’ve done several cave tours and this was definitely worth doing. It’s a cool experience for kids too because it doesn’t take very long and there’s a lot to look at.

Second visit to Ruby falls after 17years. I have better cameras now so took better pictures :). The experience has been pretty consistent so I would say nothing much has changed and it is good. There are zip lining activities which I am not up for. So adventurous ones can try

They are open until 8pm. I have been here multiple times. It’s good for a one time visit and if you have not seen any other under ground caves. The staff and the tour guides are knowledgeable. I still wonder the source of water. I have never seen the water flow increase or decrease its always the same during my multiple visits. The stalactites and stalagmites are many. Worth a visit one time. Beauty of this place is it’s 260 feet below. Only thing disappointing is they really do not give enough time to spend and click pics at the main fall. It is close to a mile walk so can get a little for elders and people who cannot talk much.

It was an interesting underground Falls, and the cave was interesting, but the tour guide literally runs you through, the only place you get to actually stop and take photos is at the Falls, but there are plenty of other interesting items in the cave that you miss. Groups can be upwards of 38 people and they do many group tours a day.

We had heard about these falls and wanted to see it for ourselves and it's very impressive! It's fun to see different rock formations and the cute little names they have for each. We had a tour group of about 20 people, it can get kind of narrow, but I never felt claustrophobic. Seeing the falls at the end, it's actually very soothing to listen to. I do wish we had some more time to take pictures at that spot.

2024-Feb. We arrived here on a Saturday afternoon. We previously bought tickets and reserved our tour time.
There was a small parking lot in front of the entrance and more parking spaces on the side of it.
We went through the souvenir shop. A restroom is located at the back. There is no restroom in the caves so better visit the restroom before you go. Also at the back of the souvenir shop is the electronic sign that shows the tour time that needs to fall in line. You have to go through the corridors under the e-sign because the actual entrance is at the end of the corridor, beside the restaurant.
When your tour time is next, the staff will allow you to fall in line where our tour guide meets us. After an elevator ride, the tour begins.
The cave is well-lit with different colored LED lights. The atmosphere is quite nice- not cold or warm. You are not allowed to touch any of the formations.
There was also a flat-screen TV where you had to watch the history of the discovery of the cave.
I believe it took us 30 minutes or so to get to the falls. We had to make a few stops to make room for the people who were heading back to the elevator.
The cave ground surface has been cemented- flat in some areas and with staircases in other areas.
The falls is spectacular. With the lighting installed, the visibility is great! The water under the falls is about 5-ft (according to our guide). She didn't mention how big that area was when it was discovered.
After the falls, you get to see your green-screen photos. I believe it was $35+, with digital prints.
We visited the castle after the caves. There is an elevator that will take you from the 1st floor to halfway up the tower. We only took a few minutes on top of the tower. There's nothing to do up there aside from seeing downtown Chattanooga.
It was a good experience if you can stop by.
Happy caving 😊 and give this review a thumbs up if it helped you in any way.
Rock City Gardens is a beautiful garden with stunning views located on Lookout Mountain. The gardens are home to over 400 different plant species which provide stunning views of the surrounding area. The gardens are also filled with amazing rock formations and panoramic views of 7 states.
Beautiful walk on a very creative trail between boulders, over bridges, above bluffs and waterfalls, crisscrossing in imaginative ways. The overlook view of the valley below is breathtaking. Right to left you can see almost 180 degrees. You really can see 7 states. The walk is worth the time and visit. It is a great family adventure, with the walk ending in Fairyland Caverns. The park is not without gift shops and restaurants. Great food. Great gifts. Handicap access is limited to a small percentage of the park area, but access is available to the overlook. The park Vista is different each season of the year. I took hundreds of photos but Google only allows 50. Be sure to carry your camera.

It is a great family adventure, with the walk ending in Fairyland Caverns. The park is not without gift shops and restaurants. One thing that’s good to know about this place is that if you take your time exploring this place, any amount of crowd will pass you by and you will have a moment or two to yourself to take it all in. And the mother goose/fairy gardens is worth seeing even as an adult, it’s fun to take a trip down memory lane to your childhood. More importantly, you escape the heat because it’s air conditioned!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a good view, likes a little adventure and is able to maneuver stairs, ramps and bridges and maybe a surprise or two.

So this is our first visit from Bristol Tn/Va and this place is Gorgeous! The views were amazing and the Gardens are awesome with a cool backstory of the founders and amazing art and engineering to create such a magical place!
They also have a cafe with alcohol beer&wine you can take with your around the park you can even buy an a tire bottle of wine but you have to finish before you leave the park!
They also have wine tastings that are free!
Free parking it wasn’t bad neither was the crowds in as we went last week of July and the first week of august!
Prices for a family of 6 was like $151 and some change but well worth the experience I highly recommend to stop and check this place out!

Drove 5 hours to go camping and see this place! If you are thinking about it, DO IT! It’s worth it and pictures don’t do it justice.
They have adorable little gift shops, the food isn’t anything crazy but the little cafe on the edge of a cliff with that view makes sitting down for a bite mid-way worth it.
You’ll spend atleast 3 hours here walking and enjoying it. Everytime I thought it was about to end it got better. If you have low stamina there are exit pathways throughout but if you can make it through its worth it. It’s nothing too demanding, but there are some tight spots here and there that may not be so friendly for my thicker ladies.
I recommend coming during a weekday if possible, If it was any more busy it would have made it hard to get nice pictures and just take my time and enjoy it all.
They’re also dog friendly! This is a perfect little couple date but it’s a place you will want to revisit again with family.

Such a fun experience! The views are gorgeous from the top! We ate at the cafe located on top and had the most beautiful views for lunch. We went at the best time, during the week in the middle of the day, so it was extremely peaceful because hardly anyone was around. If you’re in the area, this is a must. Perfect for everyone. Couples, families, and even dogs since it’s pet friendly here.

We took our two dogs here for a day trip and loved it! The staff were super friendly and greeted us and our dogs when we got there. We didn't know what to expect and were surprised at how much we enjoyed it. It's not a long walk, but there is plenty to look at. I love the creative ways they formed the rocks. The fairy cavern was also very interesting (and a little creepy)! The dogs seemed to enjoy it, too,and that made the trip worth it. I recommend going early in the morning (we did 0830). It was nice to get there before the crowd and be able to take pictures without a lot of people in the background.

The staff is friendly. The facility and paths are clean and well maintained. And the price is very affordable.

Rock City Gardens was a disappointingly expensive tourist trap. While the rock formations, the falls, and the views are beautiful (when it isn’t foggy and humid), everything else is a sore. There’s constant music playing to sound “whimsical” but instead interrupt any enjoyment of the nature. The “fairy tale cave” is musty and full of dusty sculptures into the rocks depicting old fairy tales that gave me trouble breathing because of the mustiness. Weird art litters the rest of the experience. It took us 45 minutes to get through a “tour” that is supposed to take 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We got there at opening at 8:30 on a Saturday and it already had a number of people there; by 9:30 when we left it was already packed. The coolest parts were the rope bridge, the falls, and the concrete overlook as well as the entryway into the goblin caverns. The rock formations are truly beautiful, and it’s no wonder the original owners went with this fairy tale theme as you make your way through the mystical and twisted rocks; but the theme did not enhance but detracted from the beauty. Overall, there isn’t much to write home about here. Much more money can be spent inside in gift shops and cafes and wine tastings, but the $30+ entry price does not validate spending any more money there. Maybe if it was $5 with all of the additional bells and whistles you can add, it would be worth a walk through and a stop; but not $30+.

Such a fun, quirky place! Not difficult to walk at all. Unbelievable views from the top! Just a couple narrow passages between rock formations. Most people can squeeze through without touching by turning sideways. Maybe 24-30 inches wide? Caves had pretty lights and fun little fairy tale scenes lit up. Fun for kids and adults! Really glad we went! Buy tickets in advance! We bought them the day before and they were sold out the next day.

Prepare to come to this place and take your time. There is so much to see! There are many many steps. We brought our two dogs and they did great. If your puppy or company doesn’t do well with stairs, heights and tight spaces you might not get to experience all the fascinating stuff this place has to offer. We went first this in the morning at the end of June. It was perfect temperature and less crowded. There are drink vending machines and cafes if you don’t bring your own refreshments. I’ll definitely be back!

Best place to visit if you're in Chattanooga, the view it's worth it. I would say it's not stroller friendly if you plan to take your little one, we got a baby carrier and it was helpful. Some areas are a tight squeeze so be careful with kids. Overall my family and I loved this place and would love to come back and visit.

We had a great time. Tickets have to be purchased online in advance. I would recommend booking a time after 6 PM so it is dark. We went on a weekday and got the discount for weekday visits. We spent about 3 hours there.
There is an enclosed area to sit, drink hot chocolate, and warm up a little bit if it is cold. We had dinner before going, but they do have food service available.
If you enjoy Christmas lights and family fun, then I recommend you put a visit to Rock City's Enchanted Garden of Lights on you to do list.

Living in the Chattanooga area, the majority of my life, Rock City, isn't a new experience for me. I have been there several times. However, fall is definitely my favorite time to visit. All of the fall colors never disappoint! Even the drive up the mountain is absolutely beautiful this time of year.
The park is always in immaculate condition. It is well taken care of. The employees have always been cordial and professional even though the majority of them are high school/college age young adults.
The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star review is because the cost to actually get into the park is, in my opinion, way too expensive. It is $26 for an adult and around $16 for children. Although I understand that it takes money to keep the park looking as beautiful as it always does and also pay the employees, I think that they probably could come up with a way to cut the price of the tickets so more people can enjoy it. There were several employees there who were not really doing anything. Maybe not have so many employees working to cut payroll and, in return, cut the admission price. There can't be that much overhead for a park.
I just find it unfortunate that there are families who can't afford to take a trip where they can enjoy the day together, learn about nature and have the opportunity to teach young children to appreciate and respect nature and the animals that call it home.

I don't remember how I came across Rock City, but it was added on my want to do list on Google maps. We are traveling back from spring break. Rock City just happened to be the halfway point. We thought it'd be a great idea to stop here stretch our legs and check things out. Rock City did not disappoint. The walkways were very well maintained. The one way path was pretty easy to follow. The views very great. A lot of work went into the fairy caverns. I enjoyed the sculptures and decorations along the path. My only "complaint" is that tickets we're a little more than I would have liked to pay. Overall, I'm happy we made the stop.
Sherry Knack — Google review
I wasn't sure this place would be worth the cost of the ticket, but my family and I ended up having a great time doing Rock City. I didn't realize there was such an elaborate historical setup (Fairyland and Mother Goose...world or something).
One of the funniest things I saw (you can see in my pictures) was a statue giving us the bird. No really, it's reaching out with a bird in its hand...color me immature, but I found it hilarious.
My sense of humor aside, the view was beautiful and there's a cafe on top where you can order adult beverages or non-alcoholic...plus a cafe with food...so you can eat and drink while enjoying a fabulous view.
The rocky structures in the beginning were beautiful, but really, there's so much more to this place. It has a lot of interesting details, quirky music and sights. Kind of reminded me of my childhood again when I got to Fairyland and saw scenes of classic children's stories.
Oh, one of my favorite things to see was the walls full of quartz. That was beautiful!
I'd like to go back again sometime when I have the chance and spend a little more time lingering. It was a rainy cold day when we went so we tried to hustle through the outdoor portions quickly.
My dad sped up particularly quick when making his way through "The Squeeze", a narrow path through the boulders. As long as you can tolerate a narrow space for a short distance you'll be fine.
My dad has claustrophobia and a fear of heights and still survived/had a good time...and that was in spite of my brother and I trying to toss him off the 7 states viewing platform. Not to worry, we'll get him next time.
I'd recommend checking this place out. In a way, it kind of summarizes the essence of the Chattanooga area. Great views, rocks, cute water features, a waterfall, history, quirky art, good times. I don't think you'd regret it unless you can't appreciate art, geology, scenic views, spending money on tickets...that kind of thing
Have a wonderful time! 👋

Beautiful grounds and a lot of fun walking through the stone features. Would have been a five but the Fairyland Caverns are in strong need of some love. I have to admit though, outside of that this is a great place for photographers.

Such a beautiful experience! A great place for adults and children. So much detail was put into fairyland caverns! Definitely take an opportunity to visit here one day. Amazing views and the swing a long bridge is also a great bonus! We really enjoyed ourselves and it consumed most of our day. Lots of walking and there are restaurants around, but we didn’t eat. They have smoking areas and it is pet friendly. The restrooms were ok and there are shops around that you can buy all the things. We certainly plan to come back!

As a young boy I would see signs along the freeway with just 3 simple words. 'See Rock City'. Nothing more and nothing less. That was pure mystique to me, and I have wanted to SEE it almost my whole natural life. Well, today I finally got to See Rock City, and even though the skies were gray and overcast, it was still absolutely wonderful. It was everything 10 year old me could have ever hoped to be, and was still awe inspiring to the adult me. If you live in the region, then I STRONGLY recommend going to See Rock City if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed, I promise you. We are already looking forward to going back this Summer.

A definite must see when in the area and worth making a trip JUST to see Rock City! Beautiful views, amazing boulders, and cool art. Don’t miss the Hall of the Mountain King sculpture. Several people walked right past it. So many flowers blooming and the water features were lovely as well.
Lookout Mountain, a historical battlefield of the Civil War, boasts scenic views, rock formations and caves for exploration. The Incline Railway on Lookout Mountain offers an exciting ride with its steep 72.7% grade that makes it one of the world's steepest passenger railways. Visitors can purchase a ticket package that includes the railway along with Rock City and Ruby Falls to save money.
I love it so much that I made it my home.
There is more beauty here than you will have time to take in.

If you are looking for rock city and Google tells you to go down tower road that is the wrong way and address. Although that road is very off road and little streams and jeep worthy so if you are into that sorta thing go for it.
The address is actually
1400 Patten Rd, Lookout Mountain, GA 30750
See my photos below. This place is a blast

It's a must see! Definitely wish we had made this an entire day trip. I believe I remember a restaurant, but there is definitely and a little shop with snacks, souvenirs and a bar. There was even a singer/guitarist performing! We saw signs about a bird of prey show but time didn't allow us to stay.

An excellent trail and view at the top were highly worth it. I recommend using all trials to ensure you don't take a wrong turn.

Was well worth the trip! Lots of fun family friendly amusement. Phenomenal view once you get to the top. Definitely recommend! You have to pay to get in, and the trails were not as difficult nor long because there was so many beautiful distractions. Time flies fast here.

If you love Civil War history this is a must stop while in Chattanooga. The view is why I rated it 5 stars. Veterans get a discount to enter the military park. There are other sires nearby relating to civil war history that are worth seeing, especially the Gordon Lee mansion and battle of Chickamauga in Chickamauga Georgia.

The fall colors on the way to the top of the mountain on the Incline Railway were beautiful!

Definitely worth the trip. We drove up to the top and were glad we did.
Lookout Mountain was great, such beautiful views.
After that we drove around and were surprised to how many homes are up there.

Beautiful view. Suggestion visiting the place when the weather is not hot. October would be best time.

Loved this place! My wife and I were in town for a softball tournament with our daughter. We had about 4 hours in between games which was a perfect amount of time to grab lunch at Big Rock Grill, see the rock city gardens, lookout mountain and the shops. Although we ate at the Big Rock Grill just inside the gate I would recommend holding out to eat at the Cafe 7 located right by the overlook (about halfway through the Rock City gardens tour). The view there is way better while your eating! This is a tour that anyone can like, all ages. All of the trails are paved and definitely easy to navigate, unless your in a wheel chair. There were quite a few tight squeezes that may be scary for those with claustrophobia but otherwise fun and enjoyable. If your in town do what the signs say.....SEE ROCK CITY!

It's great place to get some fresh air and see some scenic views. The history here is something worth learning. We watched the video which was helpful in understanding the different informational posts. My only downside is that there is no railing for the steep drop offs. Other than that great location with beautiful drive to the top.

This is a great family experience. You can even bring your dog on a leash. At the end, there is a winery that has some pretty decent ones. There’s a gift shop as well. Try not to walk through too quickly. We kind of rushed through without realizing how short it was. I love the lighting and the scenery. There was also a spot to stop and see seven different cities from one point. The waterfall is pretty, but you cannot get into it from this path. My best friend, her daughter (who was getting married in four days), and I decided to take a day trip to Lookout Mountain. First, the drive itself is beautiful- especially during the season when the leaves are all changing colors. It’s almost unreal because it looks so picturesque.
We dined at a Cafe in town then did the Lookout Mountain tour (along with some souvenir shopping!)😊
This is one of the best places to visit for a fun day trip with family, friends, or just to get away! The sights are stunning, the other features offered along time tour are extremely interesting, and the history is amazing. I’m a huge history buff so I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the ‘See Rock City’ campaign- when over 700 barns were painted red then adorned with the ‘See Rock City’ logo.
And of course I brought home the iconic birdhouse as my souvenir. Love it!
The walk itself is very mild- anyone, regardless of fitness level- can complete the walk and enjoy every step!!! Multiple viewing areas (with chairs and benches) are available as well as other resting points along the way.
If you haven’t been to Lookout Mountain, or is been a while since your last visit, definitely plan a day trip! It’s well worth it- I’m already looking forward to visiting again with my son and husband!
