Amazing attraction! So much history and multiple tours available to learn more. We participated in the architecture tour with Betty. She is very knowledgeable and personable!
I would love to come back in September when there's outdoor plays in the amphitheater. Next time, I will want to arrive earlier in the day as well. We were here for 4 hours and it didn't feel enough.
Admission is free and tickets can be reserved two weeks in advance of the date. Parking is $20. Totally worth it for what you get to see and experience!

Amazing place with valuable antique collection and very well organized introduction. Visited with my children, they enjoyed everything in there. Is is really very touching that not only entrance is free, but also they give you freedom to go around to explore and enjoy everything. ( nothing to campers with Hearst Castle visit). The architecture is beautiful, tasteful decor and you are free to organize your special day photo shopping.
Greatest place to visit.
P.S. You need to “book” your spot in advance online, make sure to include everyone ( even infants), and yes it’s free, you only pay $15 parking fee online or in the place. Parking is very safe and well organized, elevators are in every level.

Loved this. Had it recommended but a few people and am so glad we put it on our itinerary. The grounds are gorgeous and the collections are impressive. Definitely worth a visit.
Tickets are free but you'll need to pay for parking on location. Buy the parking online when you grab your tickets and it's a few bucks cheaper than buying at the gate.

A beautiful space and happy that it is open to the public. Lots of sculptures and artifacts to view and the gardens and pool fun to explore and relax. There is lots of parking and the online ticket system is easy to use. Tickets are free, but parking is $20. The restaurant has a nice selection and there are premade sandwiches at the cafe kiosk. You can't really see the ocean, but the sea breeze is still great!

Lovely place to visit and it’s free just go to their website and reserve a slot before visiting. The ocean view, the architecture, the pool, the museum everything is so beautiful. You are allowed to take pictures inside the museum too. They have a good cafe and the food was pretty fresh and decent for the price we paid. Very well maintained gardens. Guided tours are also available which is free. They also have a free guest shuttle from the main entrance up to the villa and down back if you are not taking your car up. Perfect place for a relaxed day out!

Visited in May 2023. Although it was a cloudy day, it was still a fantastic visit to the Getty Villa! The lush green surroundings, along with its captivating art collection, truly impressed me. The drive down the scenic Pacific Coast Highway added to the experience. While the parking fee was $20, the free entry made it a great value. I captured some stunning photos, and the staff were incredibly helpful. Highly recommended!

The Getty Villa in LA is a captivating journey through Greek and Roman history. As you step inside, you're greeted by a mesmerizing collection of historical artifacts that truly astound. The architectural brilliance of the villa itself adds another layer of wonder to the experience. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply appreciate stunning architecture, the Getty Villa is a must-visit destination that will leave you in awe. Make sure you go for sunset as the views were amazing. You’ll find restaurant on the top floor. Also, they ask you if you have reservations, but we didn’t have one but still could just walk in. So, no requirement for reservations. You can have plenty of parking place inside the villa.

What a wonderful place to visit. I was unexpected to see so many different items from 1st century AD and before like the marble statues or mosaics from the same time period. There's a even jewelry from 400BC and Byzantine jewelry, jewelry that was made in Alexandria.
Roman coins from 1st century AD. Roman glass from 1st century AD. I mean it's just incredible that these things survived until they ended up at the Getty Villa.
Just breath taking stuff from few thousand years ago and now everyone can see it and enjoy it. They even have marble figures from 2700-3000BC.
Currently there's an exhibit on loan from the British Museum in London of Assyria palace art of ancient Iraq. About a dozen or so huge pieces of carved Gypsum from 700BC.
Getty Villa is free but parking is not, it's 20 bucks. They have a huge multi level lot that was almost full on a Wednesday.
Come enjoy the ocean breeze and see some stuff from long long ago. And the gardens are beautiful.

So glad we tried this place. The best surprise was how good the Cafe food was. They have legit chefs and really good food choices. I highly recommend visiting this museum if you get the chance. Get a reservation for entry and pay for parking online. Plan for at least 2 hours to enjoy the place. If you catch it on a sunny day sit outside for lunch and enjoy the beauty of this place. Lots of people from all over visiting and really nice workers too. California has the best weather and high end places to visit. Don't forget to visit the big Getty Museum in LA as well. That one plan an entire day to see everything it has inside tho. This Getty Villa is much smaller scale compared to the big Getty.

This place is incredible. It’s been on LA adventure list for awhile. I haven’t been because I was thinking “eh, it’s just old stuff”. I was wrong. There was so much thought out into the Villa and the gardens. Meticulous details. The architecture is beautiful, and so are the grounds. The collection is very expansive. I did the self-guided audio tour that also recorded with great care. The docents are very polite and very helpful. It’s free, but you need a reservation time. Parking is $20. I didn’t go to the cafe, but when I walked through I saw what appeared to be quality food options and ample serving sizes. I walked through about 80% of the exhibits which took a little over 2 hours. I’ll be going back in November. I’m very glad I went. Nice outing.

So beautiful and fun ! Take your time through the sculptures and found jewelry and or perfume pots. Especially the garden. It’s a sight to see ! They even have an interaction room for the kiddos. Can’t wait to visit the other museums. This was a great start. We were sad to learn that all of the food and herbs grown on property get tossed in the trash because of FDA regulations. Growing food and herbs just to throw it away but overall still a good experience.

It was a beautiful first day of October 2023 in Malibu, Ca, It was also a wonderful time to visit the Getty Villa Museum. The museum is free but costs $20.00 to the park. You also need to make a reservation before you go. The grounds are gorgeous and picture-perfect scenes. I saw a couple having their engagement photos taken. My 16 year old granddaughter enjoyed seeing art in the Era she's studying in school.
V Scaccianoce — Google review
Nice villa with a beautiful view. The place is relaxing. Greek and Roman art, as well as a small temporary exhibition on Ancient Egypt.
Only 4 stars because the villa feels a bit fake sometimes because it’s almost brand new but still a good imitation.

An absolutely beautiful institution in Santa Monica. Entrance is free with reservations; the only fee is the $20 parking fee.
Highly recommended to come here on a bright and sunny day, or even better, if you're lucky enough to come in the autumn after a light morning rain.
The art pieces are mostly focused from Mediterranean regions from the ancient eras.
The architecture of the villa seems heavily inspired by Greek and Roman stylings as can be seen by the long hallways and endless columns. It's recommended to take your take and enjoy the whole breadth of the villa as there's a lot to see.

A one of a kind, must see it to believe it place! Among the grandest and most opulent destinations to visit and revisit in Southern California!
The grounds and structures are visually magnificent to be able to pass thru and see. Viewing the ancient artifacts on display was an unexpected and exciting exploration I’ll always remember!
As with the Getty Center, I’d say the Getty Villa is a treasure trove of exhibits and information in an awesome place of eye pleasing aesthetics! I could go on and elaborate on the elaborate, tho after reading the good reviews of others, I couldn’t have said it better!
Photos posted with this review are just a glimpse of the vivid appeal that captures my experience, to see as I’ve seen, tho so much better in person!
Just a note of interest for visitors heading there via Pacific Coast Highway from Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades. When going northbound, look to pass the Sunset Blvd intersection, with a Chevron Station on the right and Gladstones Restaurant on the ocean side, or left. Continue under the pedestrian bridge and past the next traffic light at Porto Marina Way, then be ready to look for the turning lane to turn right at Getty Villa Drive, to check in at the entrance gate.
Walk-ins may arrive via the Metro-Transit Bus 534, or from vehicle drop offs and may also check in at the entrance.
All arrivals will be asked for their reservations along with prepaid parking passes if needed. Otherwise alternate arrangements may be made before proceeding.
All vehicle traffic departs at Coastline Drive, back to Pacific Coast Highway.

Free tickets available starting two weeks in advance of the day you visit. Best to visit first thing (10 AM) when not yet crowded.
Parking is $20 and queue can be long, mostly leaving, as the access road is at a very busy intersection. If you're there early, you can park for free along the beach side of the PCH, with a pedestrian entry near the vehicle access. The bonus of doing this is a van will take you to the villa and will bypass the cars waiting to get into the garage.
They offer three types of tours (art, garden, and architecture), but there's a limit of 10/tour. Get to the tour start area by the gift shop at least 15 minutes before the start time to ensure your spot. Once you get your wrist band (they give out 15 minutes before start) you can visit the gift shop, which is reasonably priced.

We didn’t book in advance but we got in. Tickets are free but parking is 15$. So you are actually paying for admission. I have been in Getty museum a lot of times. But it is my first time an villa. Nice location with beautiful view. Amazing collection of antiques. Great landscape. It even has a greek style amphitheater. But comparing to the museum is very small.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. If you do nothing else in LA you must go and see this villa and the art works within. The fact that this is made so authentically and true to the original with no expense spared. The museum of art was interesting and the audio phone app enhanced the experience as I am not one to stand and read captions for hours. I loved learning about how the villa was built, walking in the beautiful gardens and imagining how Romans would have lived. Absolutely gorgeous. And it is FREE! (except for parking).

Went to the Getty Villa on a Saturday morning. Easy access and parking. Reserved tickets ahead of time and paid for parking once we arrived. Beautiful setting! And so many artifacts and collectibles. Truly worth a visit!

Really well organized museum. They add a lot info (origin, materials, history, before and after the restoration, photos of the excavation…) of each piece. Also the whole Villa is well designed. I would recommend stop by at the family room for a fun break (even if you don’t have kids). After a few rooms you just need a break, take it in that, play with the activities, you wouldn’t regret!
Nana Cano Rivas — Google review
This leisure experience is educational for all ages. Tho this cultural experience is open and free to the public, you will have to reserve a ticket, which ultimately saves a parking space for $20. The entrance to the museum from the PCH is quite narrow and steep. The road is a replica of an ancient Roman one. The parking garage is adequate with plenty of handicap parking on the first level. There's plenty of artifacts and interesting information around every corner. Concentration of displayed artifacts is limited to ancient Greek and Roman architecture and art; mainly statues. Everything is well displayed and clean. Everyone working here was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend taking advantage of the timed tours. There's different tours planned thru out the day. We had the same docent twice for two different tours. He was able to share a great amount of interesting knowledge. The grounds are well maintained and exuberant. The whole facility is easy to navigate, lots of stairs, but there are elevators too. The villa is actually larger than I had expected, I ended up staying the whole day. There is food and drink available for purchase, good quality food with high prices. I enjoyed my visit in winter, so I think any season would be just as enjoyable.
John Hannan — Google review
The Villa is an Art museum focusing on ancient Greek and Roman history and architecture. The design of the villa was modeled after Greek and Roman design. The outdoor areas are gorgeous!! The design is amazing, down to the small details. The museum portions were very informative and cool. There is a focus on statues from both ancient civilizations. The museum also includes a cafe and a theater for special shows.

For the first time, I visited this beautiful place. The entrance is free, but you need to reserve a free ticket in advance. A very nice girl greeted me at the entrance. Then, a shuttle took me to the museum itself. After that, museum staff welcomed me, showed me the map, and so on. Inside is very beautiful, and the friendly museum staff were always ready to help guests. There is a cafe where the food is delicious. Thank you.

This is such a beautiful place to walk, take pictures and enjoy the view and exhibits. This is a walkable museum. There is a wonderful cafe with great views of the pacific ocean. Every inch of this property is beautiful manicured. The staff is located throughout the property to assist you. You will need to make your reservation prior to coming. Your reservation covers your entry into the museum. There is a fee for parking and the rate for parking is reduced after 3pm. No flash photography on the property. If you bring a purse or backpack be prepared to have it checked. There are elevators for usage.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in LA. There is a lot in the collection but I feel there are a select few pieces which are special. You will know when you see them!
The grounds are absolutely stunning and it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to architecturally. It can be tough to get to if you don't have a car but I would try to visit if you can manage it. If you like history, you won't regret the trip.

It's so beautiful here! It's wonderful they have so many pieces from ancient Greek and Rome! I loved their Egyptian Book of the Dead exhibit as well, though it was a very tiny exhibit. Entry is free, parking is $20. Reserve entry on their website, super easy. Everyone should visit and get a glimpse of history!

Excellent reconstruction of an ancient villa. Lots of exhibits. Very impressed. Take your time to see everything. Best viewing spot is on the balcony overlooking the Outer Peristyle (aka garden/pool area). If you are visiting the Getty Center and Getty Villa on the same day, you don't need to pay the $25.00 parking fee twice. Talk to a worker about how to avoid that. Enjoy!

You will need to reserve your ticket ahead of time prior to entering!!!

The Getty Villa is situated near Malibu with a beautiful architecture and smaller exhibitions that you can check out. The place is so well maintained and everywhere you go, you get to learn something new or see something beautiful. It was busy and you can’t really take any photos with so many people around you.
There is a cafe where you can grab a meal during your visit and capture some views.
We thoroughly enjoyed walking around and taking in the views and learning about the exhibits. You can spend 1-2 hours walking around and viewing the sights.

I've been here multiple times, and it's gorgeous. The buildings and art are amazing but not worth multiple revisits unless you want to see a particular rotating exhibit. The Malibu Pier is a popular tourist attraction that is located next to the beach. It has restaurants, shops, and a fishing pier.
Really clean beach and pier. You should walk all the way to the front to see amazing view. They have cafe on the pier itself and great outdoor indoor seating with amazing views. Quite a few stairs to access the beach. Parking can be tricky - there is 20$ for the parking at the pier lot but you can try and see if you get street parking to avoid 20$. On the parking they also have restrooms.

We visited on a very beautiful morning and it was quiet and the atmosphere was fresh. Clean and well maintained premises. So many surfers were practicing their surfing skills on the amazing waves. It is a great and unique experience to stand on this pier and watch the majestic waves in the ocean. Feels like just staying there and to keep watching the the waves. Pleasant weather. BEST BEACH TO GO TO!
(Carbon Beach aka Billionaires Beach)
Absolutely the best Beach to go to and spend the day at! It is soooo clean compared to any other beach in the area! It's warm, and sunny and the homes on the shoreline are nice to check out. This beach is NOT overly crowded like the rest in the area. It's not as easily accessible, there's a bit of a walk to get there but I'm telling you it's more than worth it! You don't have crowds of people right by you while you're trying to relax. The sand was very soft and warm, you were able to walk barefoot without stepping on something sharp.
No public restrooms or wash-off spots. There are a few public access options. You will have to park a little ways away at a parking garage. There's some street parking available but usually all taken. All and all such a beautiful beach ⛱️ If you don't mind walking a little bit for some privacy and relaxation time this is the spot for you!

What a gem in Santa Clarita ! The barnyard is awesome (open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-2pm) - pot bellied pigs, swans, alpacas, wild boars, chickens etc). Free and plenty of parking. The trail up to the house is great and passes by the bison paddock. The house is closed right now but still so worth a visit.

Wonderful resource for local interests. Historic setting, plentiful park areas for picnics, quinceaneras, or just a fun day. Barnyard, trading post, and railway cars, oh and bison too.

I love this place. It's beautiful, peaceful, serene, interesting and a wealth of history. They have restrooms, plenty of parking, a gift shop and a picnic area. There are several places to explore. The accompanying photo was taken in The Ranch House Museum located near the parking lot. You can also take a walk up to the main house. Along the way there are places to check out and it's possible to see the free roaming bison. They are located in the hills on the other side of the fence. Once you get to the house, you can take a guided tour. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The folks here are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If you can't do the walk due to an impairment ask about driving up. Even though I've been here on many occasions, I manage to learn something new or see something different each time.
Paradise Cove Rd is a narrow and tree-lined roadway that leads to a charming sandy beach and cafe in Malibu, California. The beach has been used for filming for many tv shows including "The OC," "Baywatch," and "The Rockford Files." The cafe also extends onto the beach, with all of its amenities available to rent. It can cost $$$ to reserve a spot on the sand, but the view is well worth it.
We took a trip to Southern California and drove up the coast past Pepperdine University and we found this gym an old surfer and movie hangout from the '50s and '60s. The food was good. We had calamari as an appetizer and then dove into the main course. Take a look at the pics

This was a very nice experience. Located within Malibu of course, I'm sure you will enjoy the boardwalk, and small private beach.

Parking is very expensive , very poor customer service, non professional , they asked us to leave if we are not ordering right away taking in consideration that we have booked 3 tables and they gave us only 2, we came all the way from San Diego as group resulting in having the worst lunch ever separately from each others plus the food was not cooked well and has no flavor
Located in Zuma County Beach Park near Malibu, California, Zuma is one of the region's most popular surfing destinations. With gentle waves and plenty of lifeguard towers throughout the beach to protect visitors at all times, it's perfect for first time surfers or families looking for a safe spot to enjoy the ocean. The large beach is also great for swimming, bodyboarding, windsurfing, and fishing.
Malibu’s best beach. It’s clean and well maintained with public restrooms and showers to rinse off sand. You can take a 5+ mile walk. Porpoise often visit the surface of the glossy waves. There is a medley of birds that inhabit the beach including green parrots.

Some garbage, but it's of season.
Nice treat to see a Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter run drills in front of us.

Great sandy beach. Saw dolphins nearby to beach, didn't swim, water was cold. The beach is amazing and was not so crowded. $6 for parking but you can do free parallel parking for checking the beach.

Hands down the most beautiful public beach in Malibu. It was clean, there aren’t many people there, and very peaceful. Do not pay the $15 for parking. You can park in the street and just walk over the barrier onto the beach.

This is a fabulous place to visit during the weekdays when it is truly more secluded. A great place to take to take a break, meditate, read and write, or just do nothing.
Jojopahmaria Nsoroma — Google review
I would currently not at all recommend that beach. We had to pay 8$ for the day and got really nothing apart from closed restrooms, dirty and not working showers, trash cans which were more than full.
I can definitely understand why people park outside next to the highway, it's a shame to charge money for the current situation. Seems like they are renewing some things, but can't tell how long that will take.
Safe your money and go somewhere else.

What can you say about this beach besides the SoCal jewel. The sunsets, the mountainous backdrop, the perfect surf. Only drawback is all the people and struggle to find parking, but what can you expect at one of the best beaches in California. Zuma Beach will always have a special spot in my feels.

Today, amidst Topanga-bound travel, I went
here and had QUITE THE TIME swimming in
the ocean. Water was cold yet the contrast
between water temperatures and daytime
heat was wonderful. I got way out until my
foot could no longer touch the bottom for
a while, easily navigating waves without a
lot of them causing any problem for me at
least. Only downfall is lack of natural shade
so it's best to bring some of your own if you
wanna spend a lot of time here while the sun
happens to be very bright. Even saw one fish.

Beautiful beach with scenic views and tons of parking. The beaches are clean and well maintained as well. They also have volleyball nets.
When you enter the first area even has another body of water with ducks and seagulls. You are more likely to see marine life there.

I'll never travel to San Simeon without this trip planner again
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is a water park packed with incredible rides and slides. It also has a lazy river, wave pool, and kids' area. The water park is open from June to September.
One of the best water park in Los Angeles with awesome thrill rides. We were having so much fun while we were here although the water felt a little cold for me. I think its perfect if you go on hot summer days and it has to be on weekdays as there are less crowd and shorter lines for rides and food.

I have a handicap teen who was not taken care of during intake. It wasn't until 3 rides in that one attendant recommended that we get an ADA pass. We found out what that was and applied the next day. However, many of the elevators did not work. We found one that did. One only out of the 12 rides we took. That's not very good. Nor was I impressed with our initial customer service care. But the rides were good with very little wait times, as we went in the middle of the week.

I had a great time with my family. Is an excellent place for kids to have fun and be safe. Pools are the perfect size and deep so kids are not in danger.
The slides are so fun and the lazy river is so relaxing. I found the best time to go is after 3pm.
Less crowded the only down is the parking lot . It is kind of hard to find a good spot at that time. I have been there at the opening time as well and it was good too. But I had to get there like 2 hours before opening.
Plenty of staff around to help, life guards everywhere.

I love Magic Mountain for nostalgic reasons, but they need to do better for what they charge for admission. They want to charge Disneyland prices even though you won't see 1 character walking around the park, half of the rides are usually closed, there are no live shows, they took away the parking lot tram, and there's no parades or fireworks. Shame on them! They need to lower their admission price or do better!

It's been about 25 years since I last visited this park. We got there super early and it paid off. It's a theme park so expect everything you normally would lines, food costs etc. Be prepared to spend $$ if you plan to eat there prices are way up now! Overall it was fun loved X2 and the West Coast customs rides!

I had a good time with my family! Just that the parking lot it is very far, only if you're in a type of membership you can park nearby so well we did a good exercise by walking a lot, just the bad thing that we didn't had the opportunity to enjoyed much... Other than that! It was nice, hot beautiful day🌊🏊🏼♀️😎☀️😎🌞

Only complaints are the expensive lockers during non peak periods and a few rides not working (burst pipe for one but no ones fixing).
Otherwise, good attraction with low queues as everyone's at the coasters. Queue management done very right for once to prevent people from queue jumping.

Me and my boyfriend have season pass for Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags and we love it. However, the tubes in the wave pool are annoying. I think people shouldn’t be allow to use them there because the waves push the tubes towards other customers and it makes our experience not too fun.

Incredible. I have been wanting to enter for 40 minutes because the tickets purchased on the website are not scanned. A disaster for 2024.
I've been there for 2 hours and I haven't been on a single ride. Revolution on the map said 20 minutes. 50 minutes passed. I get on and the game is damaged. Disastrous.
All young employees with zero empathy or vocation for employee service.
I thought it was better.
Again now . 50 minutes of wait again in other ride and the game was with technical problems!!!! Again ....

We have season passes to Six Flags and hurricane Harbor. We’ve been three times this week and had a blast. The lazy river is tons of fun the wave pool and the kids area with the splash bucket. Super cool. All of the staff are extremely friendly and very professional, the lifeguards engage in conversation, but only for a minute, so they can continue to do their jobs we went in the lazy river And spent hours there. You have to be careful for all the leaves and we did get stung by a bee went to the first aid station and they gave us some sting pad to help with the stinging. Nobody was allergic so we were able to continue our day, we got burgers Chicken strips and fries the burger is really good and made with real cheddar cheese has a secret sauce and some lettuce was hot and tasted good. The chicken nuggets were hot and also tasty and comes with a variety of dipping sauces. The fries are cold, but you could get chips if you want it we get free refills with our collector cup, it’s a little costly to rent the rafts but we got lucky and were able to find a couple that are nice set of people said we could use because they were leaving. There’s a Lotta nice people and the food is good. I’m grateful that there’s no smoking I just wish there was no drinking allowed, don’t think water sports and alcohol mix well and one of the bathrooms smell just like a wet cigarette. I think there needs to be a little bit better security just to avoid anyone smoking in the bathrooms drinking or doing drugs considering it’s a family park with lots of small children. 10 out of 10 would totally recommend checking out the water park during the week it was busy but you’re able to get on everything and the lines for all the waterslides didn’t seem like they were more than 10 minutes each. Some of the larger slides are not working at this time, with no reason given I would recommend water shoes for sure. Bring a nice beach towel, drink plenty of water and sunscreen as a must regardless of whatever your skin tone is the sun is super bright and with all the water it reflects off and you could get a real nasty sunburn. We’re looking forward to visiting a few more times and are considering going on a road trip to visit the other Six Flags in Texas and up north along with the hurricane harbors maybe even the one in Arizona will keep you updated.
Went for another visit and was a little bit disappointing that there was a gentleman sitting in the food court, smoking a vape think there should be more security. This is a family park with lots of families I understand people have habits, but keep those for Hometime not in front of our children what you do on your own time is up to you, but drinking and smoking at a family park is unacceptable.

I want to like this place, I purchased a season pass for Six Flags although I live out of state and was really looking forward to visiting the water park. I was totally surprised about how huge it was because from the outside it doesn't appear big at all. The size was the only thing that surprised me, in a good way. There was one food court, ONE! Two snack shops, one that served as a "well I guess I will just take this because there is no way I am standing in line for ten hours at the other place" location because it literally only served pickles and chips, oh and over priced ice cream bars lol. There are also gifts and candy in their gift shop but I'm not exaggerating when I say there is only ONE place to purchase food. They have a great deal right now where you can receive extra money back if you load credit on one of their park bracelets the only downside is once you purchase it you have no idea whether it's going to work or not and they have no system in place to help customers when this situation occurs. I know this because I unfortunately had this happen to me this past weekend. I loaded $100 on the bracelet because I was promised $125 in return and thought it was a great deal because I'll be returning in a few weeks with my family and although there was no way I was going to use that in one day with just myself and young daughter, I knew I would use that and probably more when I returned and if I wanted I could load more on to the bracelet. I was wrong. Not only was I not only able to use the bracelet besides making purchases they could not really clearly explain to me how the bracelet worked. I explained to them that I was worried when I couldn't make a purchase and attempted to personally check my balance but couldn't because there was no way to actually do that without a valid ID# for the bracelet and all I was given was the bracelet following my purchase, no instructions, nothing, so I assumed it would be easy and it was everything but. I stood at the customer service window with no clear resolve for over an hour until they finally decided what they would do was reimburse me as if that was doing me any favors. One negative I noticed right away was card member services had more service representatives helping at their kiosk as if overall park services is not a priority and there was absolutely no reason why I should have had to wait that long. I had all the information I could possibly need to provide them with including the time I purchased the bracelet and machine number used because I overheard the rep mention it to her co-worker. It was a very frustrating experience so I highly recommend everyone take their time when purchasing the park bracelets, ensure they work and you have the info you need to check your balance. I'll be back in a couple of weeks, we'll see how things go and maybe I'll have a better update.

Had a terrible experience in this place. Today was my worst experience ever in a water park. It is not worth the money that you spend on that. It was incredibly crowded and they don't have any plan to manage that crazy crowd.
They haw a few rides and half of them did not work, the other rides suddenly stopped in the middle of the day and nobody was responsible for them. It was terrible. Nobody knew what was going on and our time was wasted clearly.
You have to wait in line for any ride for at least one hour which means you can only have a chance to use two-three rides the whole day. It is really time-wasting because they are very slow. Lines go forward extremely slow.
The number of tubes is surprisingly small and they obviously force the customers to rent tubes. Because you can use some rides without a tube and if you don't rent you have to stay for hours to take a tube.
Parking is 35 bucks and you have to walk a long distance to entrance. They will answer to this review and write that there is a shuttle. They mean a shuttle full of people and you have to wait for it under harsh sunlight for more than 15 minutes.
I will never go back there and I will recommend to my friends to avoid this place.

I went here last summer. Overall it was great. But half of the slides were closed the floaters were dirty. Bought a fast pass but still had to wait a line. One of the slides scratched my back. There was 3-4 slides that made me get so many burns and wounds. Overall the water temperate was perfect, the lifeguards were really nice. Would visit again but hopefully all the slides will be open 😄

Decent place to cool off during the summer. Just be ready to wait a good minute in lines, at least between 1-5pm. Could use more food spots, I felt like I was gonna pass out from low sugar at times. Lockers are an actual pain to get, and 16 dollars minimum. If anything just go either early or late and come WELL FED. Trust me. Oh and try getting on the tornado that ride is actually worth the wait 😼

Six Flags Magic Mountain is a popular amusement park with many adrenaline-pumping roller coasters. It's perfect for thrill seekers of all ages, with something for everyone. In the summer, fireworks light up the sky over Valencia in celebration; in October, Fright Fest features dozens of Halloween-themed rides and attractions.
Great experience! Roller coasters were awesome and completely worth the wait. It was an incredible day with lots of fun! I would recommend buying tickets in advance online, Because if you buy them in person it is more expensive. There was no wait to get in, but of course the rides had a wait time from 10 minutes to almost 3 hours. The one coaster that had a long wait time for the entire day was the X2. They were only running one cart, so it was packed all day and moving very slowly. It was still awesome and I highly recommend it! 😎

Haven't been here in years, and it definitely did not disappoint! So much fun! Only about 3 rides weren't operating today, which was great! We got on all of the others! The longest line we waited in was 45 minutes! I will admit the wait times on the app were RARELY accurate. West Coast Racers was AWESOME! Great concept and even better ride!
It wasn't an insane scorcher today but it was definitely hot, and for some reason the misters in the lines weren't on or working. That would've put our experience over the top, but that could be due to the drought. Make sure you remember sun screen AND reapply! Stay hydrated! They have a great deal for 2 bottles of water for 8 bucks. We bought 3 of those deals because the water from the water fountains weren't cold, so filling up the bottles didn't help cool us off or quench our thirst. This park is so much fun, but I would recommend holding off bringing the kids until they are old enough to ride the big rides, you will finish with the kiddie zone super quick with the little guys. Highly recommend Six Flags for all adults and middle school/teenage kids.

Absolutely amazing! I loved the park so much. Many attractions were closed, yet it was still phenomenal. World class coasters, different from any other park you'll find in the world. If you're looking for something to do: somewhere to go, go to Six Flags Magic Mountain. I promise it's worth it.

Beware Magic Mountain is going down hill!! I have been visiting this park the last 20 years and am shocked how bad it has gotten, cleanliness, efficiency and prices. It's not too expensive to get through the gates but once in get ready to spend, spend, spend. You will spend a lot of time waiting for rides and food and a lot of money! We went this past weekend and waited hours for rides just to break down. Wonder Women ride broke down multiple times a day. Parts of the park are extremely run down and are not maintained well. Refill water stations not functioning and bathroom cleanliness a big issue. You'd expect better upkeep when charging $17 a beer and $18 hamburgers. An employee told us they plan to charge $20 a 12 oz beer this summer. Oof! We ended up making the most of it and enjoying our time together as a family. Good thing we spent time together because now I have to work overtime just to cover the expenses visiting this park. Magic Mountain CEO.... you can do better!

It's my first time here. memberships and day passes are not clear to understand. For entry by car they charge you $40 per person to park 2 miles from the park entrance. The lines are long (I went on a Tuesday). The food is expensive and poor quality. come on! If you charge expensive, at least could be of regular quality? I bought the middle fast pass ($100) and i did wait in line anyway? Also you have to get an appointment to ride. Once you have used your fast pass ticket to ride, you can get another. I completly understand that you are a roller coaster monopoly but you don't even offer a decent service. I'm not basically complaining about the prices, I know I can go and pay it but the price-quality ratio is disastrous. I can't imagine how expensive an entire family has to pay to wait in line all day!

Great place for family fun! Our family goes several times throughout the year. They have the best stage shows. The rides are super fun! They accommodate all ages so lots of fun for everyone. We have of course had one bad experience, an employee got into a verbal altercation with a guest and used some choice words. As anywhere You can not judge the park off of one person or one bad incident and I’m sure the employee was handled appropriately. So while the parks got a few flaws overall it’s a great place full of fun.

My kids always have fun here. I remember going as a kid during my summer break with my family and taking my kids now on their summer break is something to look forward to. We enjoy the water park first then go to the theme park in the evening. It's always fun, and on weekdays it's not as crowded. The only bad thing is that the refill station is always broken or very dirty.

A bit different than what I remember. Fun time riding big roller coasters. I miss some the old ones, but new ones were thrilling. Didn't feel to crowded walking around, but most lines were over an hour. Overall, great time!

We were there on a Friday at the end of September, it was quiet during the day with a maximum wait of 30-40 minutes but most roller coasters only 5-10 minutes. In the evening, it was fright night, it got busier but with the express pass, we got in everywhere quickly. Super fun park, many roller coasters (3 closed) and really much better than fright night at Walibi Netherlands.

This park is 100% recommend for adrenaline junkies. It holds some of the best coasters in the U.S. however, for those of you that prefer a park with more varied rides like simulators and shows then this one isn't for you. There is absolutely nothing here for adults other than white knuckle rides. Also It's built on a mountain so if you have any mobility issues go to Florida.

Six flags was awesome. I definitely recommend using the extra money to buying flash passes. Group of 3 we rode 12 rides within one day and also had time 2x out of the day to sit down and eat. I recommend bringing your own flask or water bottle (empty). The rides were awesome as always! I will say this.
X2 was a really rough ride to be on. There's some serious whiplash into the ride. The timing where the seats spin and when the coaster is dropping is off. I slammed my leg into the side of the seat at the end of the ride.
Adonis Lagandaon — Google review
Amazing selection of roller coasters. I went twice within a year, and there were different ones opened or closed depending on circumstances. Food service is alright, sometimes you will have to wait a while just to get to the window to order. It's much faster to order via the Six Flags app and pickup at the window.
Deducted a star due to quality of cleanliness. Bathrooms, refill stations, and the rides themselved would become very dirty throughout the course of the day. Would be better if staff could periodically clean over the day to keep it looking good.

This park was a dream come true for me. I do not live in America but every coaster was bigger, faster and better then I’m used to.
The park has a few downsides as well though. A lot of the coasters were riding with 1 train. The queues were all above an hour (we’ve seen 190 minutes), in summer season you really need the highest capacity you can get. The food was good but very expensive.
Overall, we spent 2,5 days here and I would go back again.
+ it’s real pretty with a lot of greenery

This place is so much fun! We come here every year for our family vacation. We come for 2 full days so we can make sure we have maximum time at the park to do everything. We always go on Tuesday and Wednesdays because those are the least busiest days of the week. We will get the Flash Pass on Wednesday (because it’s busier than Tuesday). If you plan on riding as many coasters as possible, it’s worth it to get the flash pass. We get the middle tiered one which give you 50% less wait time but it always works out where we barely have to wait at all.
There’s fun for our little ones (3 & 4) and for our oldest (14) and for us! The kids love all the kid rides and the carnival games.
The first ride I rode this year was the Wonder Woman…OMG. I almost peed my pants and cried at the same time - it was terrifying! My 14-year old just laughed the whole time while I held on for dear life screaming and swearing. You ride in a single file and the track is so small, it’s just incredibly thrilling!
I also recommend if you’re going to go for more than one day to get the highest level of season pass (Diamond Pass). You will get free preferred parking which is in itself worth over $50. You also get a discount on anything else you buy in the park like food and souvenirs so it’s definitely worth it!
Rebecca Rix — Google review
Great experience and it was a lot of fun. The only drawback was that on a Sunday which we were there, some of the rides were closed so they are understaffed, but you still pay the regular entry fee which is not always that cheap and do come prepared to pay $40 for parking if you haven’t purchased parking online. Of course, when you buy food or drinks, they’re going to be expensive than your usual one dollar per bottle for water and more for food so be prepared for that as well.
Nevertheless, the experience is worthwhile if you’re going to Six Flags once or twice a year and willing to spend the money.
For sure recommend going to Six Flags.

Really great time at Magic Mountain. For a guy who loves coasters this is like the go-to park. The rides were amazing, as well as the food. Although quite expensive its usually how it is at every theme park. I recommend buying tickets before hand that way when the park is open you can get on some of the rides you spotted on the way in first. Died down around dinner time though. Thank you Magic Mountain for an amazing experience and will 100% come back when I'm back in L.A!

I started going to Magic Mountain when I was about six or seven years old with my dad and my sister. I remember going here on so many different occasions. I finally finally came back and brought my daughter today. I think it’s been 20 years since I last went here.
It cost $40 to park. I was not expecting it to be that much just to park your car. But I understand. We got here early so that we could get in the park right at 10:30 when it opened up. We immediately went to revolution and didn’t wait that long to get on.
I’m not gonna give you all the details of every ride that we rode but we had a bunch of the big coasters and had a super fun time. One of the reasons that I’m giving it a four star review is because none of the drink fill stations by the water fountains worked for your water bottle. I feel like if you’re at a theme park all day long out in the heat that the employees, staff, should really make sure that these are working. Overall, my daughter and I had a fantastic day.

We really enjoyed Thanksgiving here, it was crowded but not as bad as it could have been. The food plan was good--you know food is always going to be super expensive and this kind of takes the stress of that away and it became part of the fun. They do have slow food service at some places, I think it's intentional to manage crowds and consumption, but it all worked.
It's more expensive to buy online tickets if you wait until the morning you're going, more by about $15/ticket. Buy the week before.
A lot of the rides broke down to the point that at the end of the day there were maybe half a dozen not running. I wondered if that was typical or intentional. I hadn't seen at other parks.
It was chilly in the evening, bring jackets! We ended up buying sweatshirts and they weren't too bad ($35). I don't know that paying for up close parking is worth it, unless you plan on going back to the car during the day. A fun way to spend Thanksgiving.

The thrill capital of the world was indeed an amazing time. The park was overall in good condition with only one major coaster down on a Sunday in March. The staff were engaging and helpful. Was able to ride the majority of coasters with minimal waits minus two due to one train ops on most coasters.

We had a blast here with the big kids and the little kids. Went on a Friday in March, typical wait times for an amusement park on all of the big popular rides. For the little kids we hung out at the kiddie area with almost no wait times on any of the rides. We waited 3x for 5 minutes a piece. Seemed like a typical non-Disney park where teens/young adults are the only employees and don’t have much to offer by way of answering any questions, so as long as you’re self-sufficient in that regard, it’s no problem. All the ride attendants were pleasant and helpful getting the littles loaded and moving on with fun. We are in AZ and bought season passes to Hurricane Harbor and get free admission to all Six Flags locations with our passes, so we will likely be back a couple times this year.

The rides are pretty intense and for all tastes. One gotta be in shape and young to take all that speed and twisting from the roller coasters.Came in on a Saturday and some lines were quite long but moving kinda fast.Food is good but a bit pricey as expected.Worth the trip from Vegas but it’s one and done!

It was my first time going to six flags, I passed out over 6 times on rides because I’m not much of a roller coaster person, but it was SO worth it! The food was delicious, I had a lot of fun here exploring the rides! I recommend coming here lol, I came around December 23, 2023, was definitely worth the trip! Food was worth the price and tickets for sure.

The public beach El Matador is located in Robert H. Meyer Memorial State Beach within the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area between Point Dume and Leo Carrillo State Beaches. It is a popular summertime spot with cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean offering swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. Low tide reveals caves accessible only when the water is low, making it a great place to take photos or hike.
Parking lot has limited spaces. The best way to get parking is to wait for someone else leaving the beach. The view is stunning because you can see both mountain hills and beach not far away from the parking lot. Parking is $3/hour or $6/hour or the whole day (I don't remember the fee for the whole day). 2 hours was more than enough for me to enjoy the view without swimming or playing in the beach, just walking through the beach. There were portable public restrooms, although I didn't try it and therefore, I can't comment on its cleanliness. Beach hour is only until sunset.
Angeline Kornelus — Google review
Such a beautiful beach! I ended up there just after the sun had set and the sky was beautiful! The tide was coming in and pretty close to the rock wall but it was still a great walk along the shore. Seems like a great location for a photo shoot with the rock formations as there were many photographers taking pictures of people there. There’s a parking lot with a decent amount of parking and port a potties.

My favorite beach in Malibu. It’s beautiful! The plants, wild flowers, rocks and the beach! It’s serene. Typically it’s very quiet here. Love strolling, picnicking, swimming or exercising.
Yunah Hahn — Google review
Beautiful beach with stunning views! I got to see plenty of wildlife and cool rock formations. Just be aware that the stairs/hills down to the beach are very steep and rocky. The beach itself is extremely rocky and there is little to no coast line in some areas. Wear closed toed shoes!

Stunning views and one of the best pictures, there were wedding dressed couples and others with professional photographers.
The birds and rock formations are stunning beautiful
It’s a steep dirt road walk down the mountain some stairs as well and some parts looked like they may not last another heavy rain as it’s creating major craters, fall and holes , kinda scary

This is a nice beach. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This beach isn’t very wide, and there are bluffs on the edge of it. Because of this, there are two staircases connecting the beach with the parking lot. This beach is nice and sandy and has a natural arch that looks really cool. There aren’t many waves here so the sea is pretty calm. I gave this beach five stars because it looks very nice and has a cool arch.

Oh so many beautiful/gorgeous caves to see & explore here! Just make sure to go during "low tide" or you won't really be able to go & explore the caves without without getting stuck, soaked, or possibly drowning! PSA You can look up what times & days high & low tide will be on google search!

One of the most popular sunset beaches in Southern California. Free to enter and free street parking. We parked about 0.5 miles away and did the short but steep hike in less than 10 minutes down to the beach. It was a Saturday night and a little crowded. The rock formations here look like a Windows screensaver. There were a ton of professional photographers on scene for sunset.
Aliza Brown — Google review
I love the rocky environment! We saw all these pelicans flying around and fishing it was really nice! There is not much space to hang out on the beach, but it was very nice!

This place deserves 5 stars as a place but the parking is horrible, so is the parking lot.
I really enjoyed walking around and spending time at the beach. That part is extremely enjoyable.
Parking is impossible, and if you have a car be careful about the potholes. You would think given they charge for parking they would take care of the lot.
I recommend going but just park on the highway if you are with adults, if you are with kids, skip this place. Too dangerous to try and navigate the parking situation.

Only if so many ‘wannabes’ and countless photographers wouldn’t crowd it !
If you are someone who likes to sit , enjoy, get lost in sound of waves crashing across beautiful rock structures.. may be hit something else but this particular beach. Otherwise rock structures are absolutely stunning. Parking can be tricky but definitely plan on grabbing a spot in designated parking lot that on street since there is no pedestrian crossing.

Amazing views & incredible beach.
It does get very busy tho & it’s small that’s unfortunate..
It’s a bit of a hike going back up from the beach to the parking lot,
Paid parking available but go early because you may not find any.

A great beach! It's pretty far down the road. It has a unique atmosphere, as if it was hidden from the city! The phone doesn't pick up. There's parking and it's like $15 until sundown. The beach is also beautiful.

Gorgeous beach! Not really for swimming due to the rocks and the tides. Great to walk along! The parking lot is packed and hard to find a spot. You also have to pay $3 an hour to park. The stairs up and down will crush you, but it is definitely worth it!

First time here. Really enjoyed the scenery. It is a beautiful location, and it was not packed. The downside was the parking, not too many parking spots. You will most likely have to park out on the side of the road. Also, it is a bit of a walk and you have to take some stairs down. Going down is not bad, but the walk going up is a bit tiring, especially when you are carrying stuff. Did notice a lot of couples and families going to take pictures, wedding, engagement, and family pictures.

This beach is so beautiful!! A popular spot for visitors and tourists so I recommend going on a weekday to get more of a chance for photos and more of the beach to yourself. It is also breathtaking around sunset hour! I can’t wait to go back. It was a perfect spot for an engagement photoshoot with a couple I took photos of.
Raquel Curriel — Google review
Such a picturesque beach! There are two steep staircases that lead you down to the shore, but the views are still amazing even if you decide not to go all the way down. When the tide is lower, you can explore the large rock formations on the beach. We went on a Friday morning, and there were only a couple of other groups there. Highly recommend checking it out!
Holly Ainsworth — Google review
Incredibly picturesque beach, especially around sunset. It does get busy, with many influencers which can get annoying, but it is still a very beautiful place. Depending on the season, the sun doesn’t set on the ocean which is a good thing to note. Water seems a little too risky to swim, especially as the rocks are not visible below the surface. Parking is pretty accessible and free after sunset. Would recommend checking out if in the area
Arthur Bouffard — Google review
Without a doubt this is my favourite beach not just in California but in the world. Absolutely breathtaking. Not good if you're mobily impaired as there are steep sandy slopes and a lot of steps to get down.

A fantastic place for sunset! Parking is limited but still reasonably amount of spots.
Cost starts at $3/hr, but no change is provided. Can pay with card.
Bathrooms portaloo style, but in reasonable condition again, with paper available 👍🏼
The ocean and the cliffs are very very beautiful 😍
No drone zone though, check on the app to confirm.
Well maintained stairs will take you up and down the cliff side to the beach.

Beautiful and picturesque beach. Great for just relaxation or a stroll along the beach. In the afternoon, the quality of light is superb for photographs, especially when the sky is partially cloudy. You will find a lot of photo sessions from bridal to family portraits and of course, landscapes or seascapes.
Nader B — Google review
Amazing views at sunset and the rock formations were worth the sandy stairs both ways. Parking is very limited in lot. It's 7 for the day. If you're lucky to get a space, go to the kisok cash or charge and place the ticket on the dash board. We'll worth the fee just from the top. Bring a little snack the top has picnic tables. You can go down to the beach and wander the shore along different formations.

One of the best beaches of Malibu, with picturesque coves...the best I have seen ( hence you will see lot of photo shoots happening). Limited car parking spots, paid parking, if you don't get it, you can park on the road(with little walk to reach the entrance). Public free toilets available.
Access to the cove is thru stairs and once you reach the beach, it's magical, especially in the evening / sunset. Beautiful naturally formed coves and standing rocks. The sunset is magical. Lot of gulls and baby gulls on the beach, kids have lot of play to do. Must visit.
Leo Carrillo State Park is a scenic beach located just off the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles County, California. The park features rocky coastline, coastal caves, tide pools and breathtaking seaside bluffs. The beach is a popular spot for swimming and surfing, as well as hiking and camping.
Great park in Malibu to see wildflowers while they last. Not a lot of shade so bring plenty of sunblock and water. Fairly steep climb at spots so hiking sticks are useful. The camping spots at the park look great with most having shade trees and easy walk to the beach.

Amazing beach! Clean and wonderful parking, trails, and beach with optional campsites. We enjoyed an afternoon walking along the beach and enjoying the trails and views from up high.
We loved climbing the rocks!
There was a lot to see and enjoy and folks could spend a long afternoon or morning here swimming, walking, and enjoying a picnic.
The staff were friendly, too!

Nice clean campsite. There are water facets for cleaning throughout the site. The restrooms are clean and showers are token operated so bring some cash for the token machines next to the restrooms (2 mins/$1) or purchase some token at the check in booth with cash or card. There are three general stores throughout the campground and they have the basic things for camping and coffee. They also take credit cards. We camped at site 88, it was shaded but rocky like most sites next to the riverbeds. I noticed the sites in the middle are less rocky. There are fire pits here. There’s a beach access under the highway which is walkable. Quite beach in the morning.

Title: A Serene Escape
Visiting the Leo Carrillo State Park a few days after Christmas turned out to be a delightful experience that I highly recommend, especially for couples or families looking for a tranquil getaway. The atmosphere inside the cave is nothing short of relaxing and somewhat breathtaking. It's a unique environment where the hustle and bustle of daily life seem to vanish, replaced by an enveloping sense of peace.
Its natural beauty, with its intricate rock formations and the gentle echo of waves, creates a mesmerizing backdrop perfect for spending quality time with loved ones. Whether you're exploring the area's natural wonders or just seeking a quiet spot to unwind, it offers an idyllic setting. It's a hidden gem in the area, ideal for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and their companions.
In essence, the park is not just a destination; it's an experience that nurtures the soul and calms the mind. It's a must-visit for anyone in the area, promising a memorable time filled with beauty and serenity.

Spectacular ocean and mountain views with an unparalleled sunset. Make it a point to visit the north side of the park, as there are many coves and the beach is not rocky, as is the south side. Park across PCH in the parking lot and walk under the highway to the beaches.

Great camping ground. We'll taken care of and beautiful. Walked over to the beach where we got to see ocean life in the tide pools exposed die to morning low tide. This is a protected beach. Does not have beautiful white sand but rocks and other wonderful things to explore

Great hiking trail, esp when it's 100 degrees in LA. We came here around 6pm and it was about 71 degrees. Also, there weren't a lot of people. It is very quiet and peaceful and clean, right off the PCH.
They also have a camping site and a beach. Parking is $3 an hour. You can park along the PCH and walk in.
Beautiful scenery as you can see from my photos.

1st time here easy access ranger was super nice explaining everything at the front and was cheaper for the extra car vs casitas ...beach easy accessible even with car with the parking lot (looks to be payed if no camping tag) great malibu beach views and hiking next to the beach but bring a light because super dark can't see anything at night up there and huge drop offs not much railing either
Bathrooms were great and well lit even front camp spots and I think we're 3 areas with plenty of bathrooms having IBS it it stresses me out most places are horrible aka casitas these even had sinks on the outside with water (not for washing pots do that at camp spot) clearly a sighn ...there is a separate area to pull up and rv dump too
Parking spots fit a truck and car pretty easily in some and some bigger and powered spots too everything paved except camp spots
Was quiet and everyone was nice and friendly here
The store was cool too had "essentials" I got a monster and lemonade
...if I think of anything else I'll come back

Presidential history displays, a former Air Force One, a replica Oval Office & Reagan's burial site.
We hadn’t been to the Reagan Library for a few years. It was nice to return. All of the docents are very helpful and friendly. In addition to their regular impressive historical displays, they had the World War 2 Exhibit which was was so moving and large. There are multiple displays on two floors. There was so much to see. Not to mention the outside views were beautiful. Cannot wait to go back!

Amazing Museum bringing us back to an important era of history. The museum does a great job of telling the story of Ronald Regan from childhood through his many experiences, which prepared him for leadership of this country during a time somewhat similar to today. Exhibits also recount the story of the love story between the former president and Nancy. The exhibits are interesting, and the highlights for me were the replica of the Oval Office containing actual Regan artifacts, Airforce One and the piece of the Berlin Wall which you will see at the end when you go outside. I highly recommend fitting this museum into your travel plans with its beautiful backdrop of rolling hills with incredible views.

Review for April 26th 2022. The Ronald Reagan Presidential library is located in Simi Valley california. It is a very well taken care of museum. There is so many original artifacts including Air Force One that are authentic. There is just so much to see here. This month of april, they have a special exhibit which is the world war II exhibit. There is so much influence that President Ronald Reagan had in the United States of America as well as the whole world. This was definitely an excellent experience, the staff here are exceptionally great. From the moment I entered I was greeted with the warm welcome. I definitely recommend this place for anyone to come and visit and check out the Ronald Reagan presidential library.

If you go you need to spend time in the air force one gallery. The views are unbelievable. They have recently installed the Sally Ride statue outside which is cool. They have an F14 an Abraham's and a F117 outside which if you are into military hardware is definitely a must see. Parking is a little tough so if you get there later in the day except to park on the road and take a shuttle up. We are at the upstairs cafeteria and it was pretty good quality.

President Reagan's library is the fourth of 13 presidential libraries on my bucket list, and by far, the one i was most looking forward to visiting. It was fantastic!
Aside from re-visiting the 80s again -- my favorite era -- being able to walk through Marine one and Air Force One and BE where history was made was SUPER cool!
Had I known the Auschwitz display was in residence the day we visited, we would have come earlier and did both. Regardless, it was a great visit to a beautiful museum on a picture perfect day. Five stars easy!

This museum is fantastic! A lot of history of Reagan and his legacy. An Air Force One is on display inside and an F-14Tomcat on display outside. I lucked out and got to enjoy a WW2 exhibit on display when I visited. This place is huge and you will definitively get plenty of walking in. The staff is friendly and gift shop has plenty to choose from. Admission was not expensive. They have several photo pass type areas that was a nice add in for the whole experience. I had a great time here and would highly suggest it to others.

Amazing experience! Learning all about President Ronald Reagan and all that he has done while he was the President Of The USA. Learning about his life and what he had been through is extraordinary. I am personally a history junkie and I throughly enjoyed this visit. I will intend to go to other Presidential Library and learn the history of that President and the "Ins and Outs" of that President had to go through when he was in office and that particular time in US History

Went there with my wife, daughter, and her boyfriend to view the Auschwitz display. It was very somber to view such tragic living in the prison camp and how all the people were treated with such disregard. The library was very interesting to see how President Reagan worked with congress and world leaders in an effort to make the world a better and safer place to live. So much accolades from world leaders to his presidency.

Brought my 19 yo daughter to Ronald Reagan Presidential library. This month they have Star Wars in rotation, so an extra fun bonus while learning about our history and all of Ronald Reagan's and Nancy's adventures. The location in Simi Valley is gorgeous, the gardens were beautifully maintained, the many employees were informative and guided us through each area. There is plenty for pre-teens and teens to enjoy;a platform for speeches given was neat to see how the words moved depending on how fast you spoke, there is a photo op area where you can sit on a fake horse with Reagan in the background, a replica of the Berlin wall you can read the inside while crawling behind the wall, a tour through the retired Air Force One and the helicopter and there is jets on the grounds outside the library.
The current Star Wars gives history of the director, the filming itself and some authentic pieces from the films plus it ties our military Star wars to the displays.
The food in the cafeteria was surprisingly good for cafeteria style. Lots of choices, soup. Pizza, burgers, salad, sandwiches, etc. We chose to eat outside on the deck to enjoy the scenery.

This a mammoth facility with impressive grounds and amazing exhibits. I literally ran through it and it still took two hours! Anyone who actually reads the placards and listens to the audio offerings should count on 4 to 5 hours. The view from the library overlooking Simi Valley out to the ocean is worth the price of admission alone. Navigating the complex can be tricky, so take a look at the brochure’s map before embarking or you will miss something. Also note that you can walk inside Air Force one and the helicopter. I would skip the audio tour, which costs extra and relies on a device that you must place next to your ear; this needs to be updated to headphones/earbuds.

What a remarkable museum! There are lessons to be learned at every corner of this stunning site. Although I was very familiar with the Regean presidency, and many historical milestones referenced throughout the extensive experience, I left feeling enlighten and educated about the type of people both Ronanld and Nancy Reagan were. Regardless of political parties, there is much to appreciate about history, beauty, and the inspiring lessons to be learned while visiting here.
Also, the outdoor picnic area is ideal if you want to enjoy some birdwatching while savoring a meal. During our visit, we were privileged to see both hummingbirds and California Scrub-Jay.
The audio tour added some additional insights and context to the physical exhibits. Also, the chance to walk through a retired Air Force One plane is pretty amazing.

What an awesome railroad! Love the historic locomotives and railcars, very well taken care of on the outside. I can’t say how I feel about the inside of the train as I never rode it, and I sadly never will as the last run was in June 2021. But I am very happy to say that I got to chase this train 3 different times, and I got the 3rd to last run. Sadly I couldn’t see the last run ever because I was busy that day. Oh well. This railroad will be missed

We had a fantastic time on our train ride.. we did the 4th of july train ride and got to see the town of Fillmore and experience the town celebrating in style with live music and food and booths to shop at as well as antique shops off main street and a great car show that they put on. Just a wonderful experience and the atmosphere was ELECTRIC because of the whole build up towards our train ride. They fed us dinner and we had tri tip and chicken and potato salad and beans and garlic bread. All while traveling about 10mph during dinner. Great experience and the staff was amazing and fast and friendly. A 1 hour train ride ended with a awesome fireworks show at 9pm and we had a wonderful seat at the back of the train where all the passengers moved to in order to view the fireworks above us
And get great photos. The atmosphere was amazing the whole time and i recommend anyone to put this on their bucket list because it sure was worth the money.. they put on a fantastic show and experience that i will never forget.

Huge outlet area along the 101, plenty of free parking and easy access by car, walking all the stores from one end to the other means crossing large intersections and parking areas. Food, markets and large Walmart, Target stores, most big brands are here
Joe Traveler — Google review
I come here once or twice a year to shop for myself and for gifts. I visited again in February. It was not crowded and the weather was cool. There were many sales going on at all the stores.
There are several restaurants with inside and outside seating. This outdoor mall has a lot of benches and other seating areas. There are plenty of restrooms that are clean and well stocked.
There are three sections of the outdoor mall. I try to get there before it opens at 10 AM, grab a coffee from Starbucks and plan my route. By lunchtime it gets pretty crowded. During the end of year holidays it can be difficult to find parking (which is free).
I prefer to to go to the stores I really like first, then while walking around a section, stop at other stores.
I park near a store I frequent, then when finished with a section drive to another.
Sales go on continously - often you will receive discounts on top of the posted sale price.
To treat myself when I come here, I often stay at the Hampton Inn, over night, which is practically across the street.

0 stars 🌟 the outlet us great huge huge variety of stores, all brand names are there, Including high-end stores.
The outlet is very nice and clean till.... you enter the restrooms 🚻
OMG!!! This is behind normal, what I have seen today was outrageous.
I would expect a place like this to have a much better maintenance service.
I'm sure they are charging a high price tag from the stores owners for the rent.
I hope they read my review and take care of it.
I attached pictures so you'll see I'm not over exaggerating.
**The food court was nice and clean! It's only the restrooms that needs more care.

Camallio outlet is located in the north of Los Angeles.
Spacious outdoor retail stores, entertainment and parking lots.
Outlet prices are great.
Parking is free.
However there are fewer luxury brands compared with the Cabazon outlet in Palm Springs.
Great location stopping by while traveling to 101 fwy or Malibu beach.

Whenever I'm in Los Angeles and I want to shop, I go to Camarillo outlet mall. The mall is 45 minutes away and it's HUGE! It's got every store I love, and they keep adding more and more. The prices here are the best and it's so easy to move around. There are 3 parking lots with stores all around which makes it easy to just stroll around, shop, put the bags in the trunk of the car and continue shopping. That way your hands don't hurt from carrying all the bags. There's always parking and we just take our car from one parking lot to the next 🤗

Also got a great deal on Chelsea boots in Cole Haan!
We also got excellent pieces at Vince.

Food court is full of people with dogs and they put them on top of the tables where we all eat, told about it to the janitor and they said they’ll call the manager or security but no one ever came, I don’t suggest to eat in the food court

The prices here are no different than at regular stores. In fact, I could find better deals online. Not even sure why this outlet center exists.
Facility dedicated to vintage aircraft & other military artifacts, with warbird rides & air shows.
Beautiful hidden gem in Ventura County. Great air museum maintained by volunteers and dedicated staff. Definitely would recommend visiting to view their aircraft and artifacts. The times I've visited, they've always had aircraft flying, and volunteers working in the restoration hangar, so it was great to see aircraft operating or with their engines and structures exposed. They also have an amazing Airshow, Wings Over Camarillo, in August. Definitely recommend attending that as well!

Hidden gem of history, showcasing the unbelievable craftsmanship of historical aircrafts! Alongside them, docents providing a wealth of knowledge! 3 hangars filled with aircraft’s, several aligned outside, and a very neat feature that many of them are enterable.
We certainly plan on returning to take advantage of a private ride in one of them and to attend one of the many events that frequently occur here!

We were at the Wings Over Camarillo Air Show as an exhibitor and the CAF staff were fantastic. They were so accommodating and hospitable that we really felt welcomed. And our location in the Veteran's hangar provided a great view of the show. Tuskegee Airmen Legacy and Beyond thanks the CAF Camarillo for allowing us to display and we look forward to displaying there in the future.

This museum is part of a larger group of museums preserving aircraft that are still flying. This site has a great collection of planes, including a Marines Corp spec B25, zero fighter, and F4F Hellcat, to name a few.
The museum covers a large portion of the airport. The three large hangers are accessible as part of the tour the museum leads. Hanger two has a bear cat fighter under restoration presently, so it is not available for viewing on our visit.
The staff here was very accommodating to the kids and letting them take pictures of the planes. Our docent Don was great and gave a unique tour of the hangers.

A nice military aviation museum. Modest collection of war birds. Super nice docents. A couple of the detail exhibits are unique and very informative. I enjoyed learning about enemy propaganda efforts in one such exhibit. They have done a decent job of focusing the collection so there is homogeny. An hour or two is perfect.

This place was a small yet very well-kept museum with knowledgeable and enthusiastic docents who shared fun facts that are interesting for both aviation and non-aviation fans. I was impressed by the work they do, from their chartered flights, aircraft restoration, and tours.

Stumbled across this gem on the way to the outlets. And we're so glad we did. It was sucha great museum that had an awesome collection of memorabilia from past wars. The planes look amazing as well. Being able to get to look up close and personal with these planes was so cool. There's a select few that you can fully walk inside during the tour. Hands down will come back, they also host an air show and we're hoping to make it. Thanks for the staff and special thanks to Avery (Willis?) He gave an awesome tour and had great insight on the mechanics, planes and history. Check it out! $10 is totally worth it for the hour and half or 2 hour tour!

I would give 5 stars but the “required donation” for $15/adult on Dec 2023 is very odd.
Why can’t they charge a ticket ??
It says there is a donation recommended for adult is $10 on their website.
I never heard of “required donation” before with “set pricing”.
The whole exhibition is very neat nonetheless.

Wow what a wonderful discovery 👏
We enjoyed visiting and discovering new things about our past ... the little ones were boisterous and still our tour guide remained patient and calm ... it was wonderful to watch my Air Force Guy ... remember the past with respect and awe
Love this place! I had a solo exhibition in 2019 and have been showing my sculptures there and teaching three workshops. I would highly recommend this amazing, spiritual place for anybody to visit or to take the workshops!

The Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts lies on the outskirts of Ojai Amid a breathtaking mountainous setting. The Center exhibits Beatrice Wood's master works in Ceramics. Her travels, especially to India, are evident in the Center's display of portions of her extraordinary collection of Indian Folk Art. Fascinating glimpses of her exceptional life can be read from photos and documents displayed in historic house fashion in one section of the Center. Far from just being about Wood, the Center celebrates the best in ceramic work by other artists too. One of the exhibitions on view at the time of my visit was The Presidents' Show a showcase for The American Ceramic Society of Southern California (ACS SoCA) the premier ceramic artists' organization in Southern California . The Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts also showcases different kinds of art by diverse artists. Perhaps with a leaning towards Beado's love of Indian Folk Art , I came to visit the Center this time to view the new exhibition of Gond Art a tribal form of Indian painting done by individual artists in Ink and Acrylic Paint. The works are drawn from the mythological stories of one of the largest tribes in India with whom it shares its name. The works are compelling, mysterious and beautiful.
In addition to the visual explosion of delights there is much more to be found at the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts . The Center boasts one of the most ambitious and diverse educational programs I have ever encountered at a small arts organization.. They offer a full range of lectures, performances, workshops, classes for adults and children and internships too. What is utterly amazing is that this whole operation is run on a virtual shoestring. It is in the words of the Center's Director ,Kevin Wallace (noted artist, author, curator, & 'magician'), " a labor of love". There is no endowment, no staff really, most instruction is done for the love of the craft by seasoned professionals who believe in the vision of the place.
Rounding out all of this wonder is a great SHOPPING EXPERIENCE! Since Beatrice Wood was so prolific, there is a rich secondary market of her work for sale at the Center and there are many exquisite pieces for sale
.The Center Store sells some of her matted and framed droll, wonderful drawings as well as lovely ceramic works by a number of regionally and nationally known ceramicists. Other types of original art are also sold in the store. There is an interesting variety of art related books available to buy as well. Visit The Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts, the setting called aptly called Happy Valley ( another story) is magnificent. In popular culture the name Shangri-La has attached itself to the Ojai Valley since the 1937 film Lost Horizon. If you are searching for a Shangri-La of the Arts in Ojai take a journey to the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts. You will find it there!

The Mission Basilica San Buenaventura 1782 is a historic Spanish mission that features a church and gardens from the 1700s. The site also includes a small museum displaying local artifacts. Although they don't offer tours anymore, visitors can still enjoy self-guided learning using the provided brochure. The mission is considered to be beautiful and is appreciated as a great place to reflect on God's gifts and blessings.
My recent visit to Mission Basilica in Ventura was a delightful experience, especially as it was to celebrate my wife's birthday. Despite its relatively modest size, the place had a charm that made our visit thoroughly enjoyable.
We gained a wealth of knowledge about the rich history of the location, which added depth to our visit. What stood out about Mission Basilica was its tranquility, making it an ideal place for quiet reflection and engaging conversations.
Mission Basilica may be small in size, but it certainly doesn't lack in character or historical significance. Its peaceful ambiance provides a unique setting for contemplation and meaningful discussions. Whether you're a history buff or simply seeking a serene spot in Ventura, Mission Basilica is definitely worth a visit.

I loved the inside of the church, a little disappointed because they don't offer tours any more, we went with my son for a school project, and I had to pay $9.00 for both of us for a little brochure and a self tour. Although I have to say we enjoyed being able to self learn about the mission.

This is a beautiful little mission of what is left from the original property. We took about an hour and a half to see the place because we like to read the informational panels, took pictures, and sat for a little inside the small museum to listen to the video explaining the history of the mission. The area around the mission is really nice, clean, and safe. As you step out of the mission, old town/downtown is located there with shops and restaurants. Their is a park located in the front of the mission my kids enjoyed running around, and the Ventura County Museum is located adjacent to the right of the mission, we also took the opportunity to see.

Great location and great variety of olive oils. The tasting for 10$ is definitely worth it. My favorite one: the Andalusian.

We had a great time this weekend doing the Olive Oil Tasting. They have over 15 different types of olive oils and you are able to sample them all for just $10. You fill up your cups with the ones you want to select, they give you small bread squares to dip, and they even have a beautiful, shaded sitting area where you can sample the oils. They have a large parking lot right out front and it’s in a quiet part of Ojai, which makes it really fun to drive to. The service was great and they did a great job explaining the different oils.
We ended up buying our favorites which were Provençal, Lemon, Garlic, and Traditional Balsamic. I cook seafood often so the Lemon Olive Oil will go perfectly with that because it’s packed with a delicious lemon flavor. Also the Provençal was our favorite of the four main varieties, although many tables around us seemed to prefer the Andalusian, which has a more peppery finish to it vs the fruity finish that Provençal has.
Overall a truly great experience and a must do when visiting Ojai. We drove up from Los Angeles especially for this and were very happy that we did so.

Worth checking out this place outside of Ojai if you're in the area. The staff were friendly and we met their furry employee Penguin. We did the $10 tasting which seemed like good value (though the bread they served was just basic white bread). Try 21 different oils and vinegars - we ended up buying the Tuscan Herb oil and the Fig Vinegar. Had fun trying all the flavors.
We went at the end of the season, so there wasn't much to see beyond the tasting room (the milling area was closed) but in the summer there's a bit more.

It was my fourth time in Ojai Olive Oil Farm.
I must say, the flavors of their oils and vinegars are absolutely divine.
My top picks includes:
- Venigar Peach
- Vinegar Espresso
- Vinegar Fig
- Garlic Oil
- Tuscan Herb Oil
- Lemon Oil
While they do provide bread for dipping, I suggest bringing your own French baguette for an even better experience.
You can also enhance your visit by bringing along cheese, wine, and your own tablecloth, making it a truly perfect outing.

If you like parking lot camping next to the beach, it's OK! The spaces are very hard and difficult to get into, plus the place isn't maintained very well. It's weedy, dirty, and generally a mess. On the plus side, it's by a beautiful beach. There are lots of great walking and biking trails. and a lovely town to visit. There are three camping sections - only one be has full hookups. It's worth coming here once, but there are better ocean campgrounds.

Santa Cruz Island is a 96-square-mile island located five miles west of Anacapa. It is the largest of the Channel Islands and is managed by the National Park Service. The island features beautiful beaches, a visitor center, and offers activities such as hiking, kayaking, diving, and camping. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of "Island only" animals and stay overnight to experience the island's serene atmosphere after most tourists leave.
Love the Channel Islands, loved my time on Santa Cruz Island. Wonderful wildlife, hiking, more…the least visited National Park but not due to lack of beauty. Prolly least visited because harder to get to. So ALL THE BETTER with less people sharing your experience. One of best our nation has….

Beautiful island in Channel Islands National Park. Most of the island is owned & managed by the Nature Conservancy. Hikers can get a permit to access this area. Island Packers provides boat service for visitors, but no private vehicles are allowed on the island. They can transport camping gear as well. Visitors can also visit using private boats. Prisoners Harbor has a good quality pier. I have not visited other areas. The island offers many trails, several picnic and camping areas and a few pit toilets. I would recommend getting the National Geographic topographical map before visiting. The island was used for ranching for over 100 years. National Park Service & Nature Conservancy are working hard to remove invasive species & to restore unique native species. It is not uncommon to spot native jays & island foxes & also bald eagles.

The Island was beautiful. At the visitors center at Scorpion Ranch you can stamp your Natio al Park Passport with the Santa Cruz Island stamp, so take your Passport Book. Also, the Cavern Point Loop hike was very beautiful. We took the counter clockwise route and ended up at the campground- plenty of water, shade, and a restroom to wait for the boat to return.

One of the least visited NP, so I have been told. Great day out. You get the ferry with Island Packers, and they are great. Once at the island, a brief what u should not do from the rangers, and you are on your way. We did a short 5 mile hike to Potatoe Harbor, which took us across the top of the cliffs with outstanding views of the ocean. It was very windy when we were there, so dress in layers as the temperature can change massively depending on if you are high on the cliffs or deep in the valley. Great fun day trip, although you can camp overnight if you want..

Of the 2,000+ species on and around the Channel Islands, 145 exist nowhere else on earth. This place is truly extraordinary in every way — the topography, the botany, the island foxes, the black crows, the dynamic mix of volcanic and sedimentary rock. An ancient marvel, Santa Cruz Island carries a storied and palpable geologic past. It exists on the scale of deep time, and you can feel it.

This is a great island to explore as part of an expedition to Channel Islands National Park. Incredible cliffs here and beautiful vistas. The scenery is fairly dry, but there is beauty in the starkness, especially when contrasted with the sapphire blue of the oceans. Well developed trails and lots of opportunities for great views.

We were able to kayak around this beautiful Island with a story of triumph. The flora and fauna were on the brink of extinction but due to conservation efforts, that didn't actually begin until the 1990's, the islands and their unique plants and animals that are found only on the channel islands are making a come back. If you want to camp, make reservations way in advance and know that the seas can be really rough and boats get cancelled regularly. The most consistently nice weather is June- August. We lucked out on early May.

Great day trip with plenty of hiking, swimming, and kayaking. The trails are steep at first but level off quickly (usually within a 0.25 to 0.50 miles) and the vistas are unforgettable -even in the fog. With all the rain the island was completely green and with massive blooming flowers.

I would suggest this trip to anyone. $50 for an experience of a life time

We took the day trip to Santa Cruz with Island Packers (reservations needed in advance usually). I would recommend going to the National Park Visitors center in Ventura Harbor the day before for a good overview and recommendations. The 8a boat trip arrived around 920a. We left a bag with some snacks and extra water in a fox box by the information center and bathroom. Make sure to take the guided tour around the back half of the Cavern Point Loop trail - 20 minutes after arrival. Linda was a wealth of information and gave us much more appreciation for the island. There were plenty of island foxes, ravens, flora and even a few scrub jays. We then hiked to Potato Harbor, where we had lunch with a view. We then hiked back via road with a canyon view. After using the pit toilets, take a brief tour of the visitor center and replenishing our water, we then hiked up the other side of the Cavern Point Loop trail. The morning had been shrouded in marine layer while in the afternoon was mostly clear with a view towards Anacapa. We hiked back down the same way with a view arriving back at 415p in plenty of time for the 5p boat back to the mainland. Bring layers of clothing as the morning was cool with a breeze and the marine layer blocking the sun. The afternoon warmed up at Scorpion Anchorage with plenty of sun - make sure to bring sunscreen. You also need to bring water (there are a couple of water spigots at the campgrounds) and your own food. The boat has some snacks, but I recommend getting something from the grocery store or cafe before the boat trip. You can also rent snorkel gear or go on a kayak tour (reservations recommended) - we did not have time to do this but other visitors recommend both through Santa Barbara Adventures. If you have waited to late to book Island Packers, try looking again right before the cancellation period (72 hrs in the summer) and you may luck up. You can also get on their wait list.

A very awesome experience. The whole trip is an adventure starting with the boat ride so it is worth soaking up every moment of it.
I only did the hiking part of the island but there are many memorable views and sounds to soak in with "Island only" animals.
Definitely try to stay overnight because it becomes a different place after the bulk of the tourists leave. It is not hard to get your own space with the beaches.
The Santa Barbara Zoo is an easily accessible zoo that contains a large variety of animals in natural habitats. The zoo is small and manageable, perfect for a mini outing with kids. It's also low key and gorgeous, making it great for adults as well.
We love this zoo! We visit from Corona, CA, just about every year as we stay in Ventura at our family's timeshare. It's small enough not to be tiring and take all day, but has a great variety of animals and exhibits. You currently need to make reservations ahead of time, but it's super easy to do online and you can just show the codes on your phone- no need for a printer. We haven't had any issues buying tickets the last 2 times we've visited under these new terms.
They've opened an Australian Walkabout encounter where you get to walk into an open animal exhibit with kangaroo, wallaby & emu. You can't touch them, obviously, but it's neat to be at their level walking around them.
There's a kid play zone to let the kids burn off some energy while the adults relax a bit. Equipped with sandbox, egg features to play/climb on, musical instrument installations, sliding/sledding hill, and cargo net spider web.
Something new they've added is a trading card feature inside the gorilla observation post. You go here to pick an animal to learn more about. Grab a sheet and pencil, find the animal on your sheet at the zoo & answer some questions about it. Once it's filled in, take it to the front gate and you get a trading card of that animal.

Beautiful Zoo! Our hotel was 5min away so of course we had to make a visit. They had a lot of animals and quiet a few exhibits closed. We read it was a small zoo but it was white bit! Not LA Zoo big lol but lots of walking and sightseeing. Good prices and awesome play area for the kids to run around. We also loved the train ride! The conductors commentary was pleasant 😊

Beautiful smaller zoo! Close to the beach and gorgeous scenery.
There’s a lot of cute animals to see here. There’s a train ride around the zoo that’s fun for a break. There’s a grassy area for picnics and it’s a generally family friendly place.
We were able to see everything in about 2 hours and be on our way to explore the rest of Santa Barbara. I loved the enclosed bird area!

I had the opportunity of photographing a wedding here and absolutely loved it. The CA light really came through and made an amazing day. Really cool place to get married especially if you are an animal lover. The giraffe area was a hit with all of the guests - you get to feed them! They also had a few other animals out and about mingling with the guests throughout the day. The reception area is beautiful overlooking the mountains. It's a really unique and special venue.

This zoo is wonderful. Animals look well taken care of. The highlight of my visit was the kangaroos. They allow you to walk inside the enclosure! The grounds are beautiful. There is a train you can ride that takes you around the entire zoo. I loved this place

Beautiful zoo. Not huge, but compared to other zoos it was extremely scenic and detailed. A very enjoyable day. The food we had was very good. We got some very good carnitas tacos from the restaurant in the courtyard for a surprisingly good price. The train ride was extra but worth it. Overall, our favorite zoo nearby, compared to the LA and Fresno Zoos.

Very nice small zoo right near East Beach. Parking is $11 for the day and is a bit congested. Zoo entry is $25 per adult, $15 per child and you are asked to reserve a time online ahead of time. Season passes are available for $100/year, including parking and one guest per day. Like most zoos, it is kid-friendly, but still very enjoyable for adults. Great variety of animals, especially considering the size of the zoo. Natural and humane animal enclosures. Many animals go to bed by 4 pm, so earlier visits are recommended. Impressive collection of California Condors. Very enjoyable otter exhibit. Underwater penguin viewing. Good signage. Restaurants are very pricey, but picnics are allowed. There are generous & shady picnic opportunities. Some good views of the water from higher up. Animal experiences are available, but are much pricier. Kangaroo & Wallaby Walkabout allows you inside the inclosure with the animals, but with no touching. Cute train ride for nominal fee.

Between the LA/SD zoos, I love the SB Zoo the most for its medium size and unique animals interactions.
It's not too large or busy. Doable in 1.5-2 hours.
Try to go earlier as the animals are being fed and zookeepers are maintaining and interacting with the animals during those hours.
My favorite area is the Australian Walkabout which allows you to get pretty close to wallabies, emus, and kangaroos. Also the Giraffe Deck is unique. You're able to feed a giraffe 5-6 pieces of lettuce for $8 from 10:30a-12p or 1-2p.
Parking is $11 if you aren't a member or you can park at the Dwight Murphy Field and walk in if you want.
They're currently still working on the red panda exhibit and there were a few animals that were off-exhibit like armadillo, toucan, etc.

This is one of the better zoo layouts and animals I have seen in a long time and I am NOT a zoo person because I tend to really feel bad for the animals. SB however out does LA and Orange CountyZoo for sure. Enjoyed seeing the birds, Red Panda, Leopard… all the animals. Nice walk and enjoyable.

Awesome zoo, we had a great time here! Nice mountain and sea views as an added bonus. We especially liked the Gorilla, Lion, Giraffe, and Kangaroo exhibits. For Kangaroos, you get to go right into their enclosure.
It's a smaller zoo, and they only sell a limited number of tickets, so make sure to get your ticket online in advance. Tickets are very reasonably priced at $25 for adults, and $15 for children under 13. The big benefit is that it's not crowded, and you get a much closer look at the animals. This being a smaller zoo, you can see the entire place in 2-3 hours.

This was about our third trip to the zoo, and we still saw new things! We were able to see the animals being fed, including animal interactions with their caretaker. A very nice zoo, it was just very chilly in the end! Never fear, a trip to the gift shop got me a very nicely designed hoodie!

Great excursion... Strolled the park in 75 minutes, stopped to enjoy each exhibit. Got up close to Lion, Giraffe, Gorilla, Leopard, Kangaroo, beautiful tropical birds... $20.00 was worth it. Now I get why they limit capacity for 2hour time slots. We went from 3-5pm and

We visit the Santa Barbara zoo every time we are in town. It's one of our kids' favorite activities, ages 1 to 15.
This year we rode the train and spent about 2 hours wandering around to view the different closures. The gift shop is spectacular by the front of the zoo. Good snacks speckled around, including Dippin Dots near the train gift shop area! Yum. Perfect on a hot day. The leopard was my favorite exhibit. The monkeys, lions, and giraffes were great, too. They also offer a time window from approx 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. where you can feed the giraffes.
Definitely make a reservation and buy tickets online! It's busy!!! Sunscreen, a hat, and lots of cold water is a must during the summer. 👍

Great little zoo. We enjoyed it very much. Not too big and not to small. Could use more places to get food. Giraffes were my favorite and the train ride. Short walk to the beach too.

Nice and simple Zoo. I've gone here many times growing up. I've seen many animal attractions come and go. Just wish they would have kept the elephants (as they were my favorite). I do recommend going on a weekday in the morning, less people at this time.
Jade Sharlow — Google review
This zoo is really nice. It is not too crowded, neat and clean and the animals look happier than a lot of other zoos. Santa Barbara Zoo is smaller than a lot of zoos and it can be easily covered in 3 - 4 hours. The tickets are moderately priced and are good for the size.
There are a lot of unusual exhibits in this zoo that I have not seen too often elsewhere. The red panda, anteater, capybara (the largest rodent), fennec fox (smallest variety of fox with huge ears) and axolotl (an aquatic salamander that retains the larval features) are among the rare and spectacular occupants of SB Zoo. Visitors are allowed to walk through the aviary housing some colorful and attractive Asian birds. The wallabies are housed in an enclosure which is also open to walk through and one can see the wallabies and emus up and close. There’s a large variety of turtles in display from all over the world. The African lions look particularly content, enjoying their enclosure overlooking the Pacific Oceanfront and bathing in the California sun !
There are boards with every exhibit that are super educational and highlight fun facts about the animals, not just some boring scientific soliloquy. Last but not the least is the train ride, which takes you around the perimeter of the zoo. My kids enjoyed this one too.

We went for the Christmas / holiday light show. It was remarkable. Even people who thought it might be more of the same holiday light shows were in awe. Little kids were just amazed at what they saw, and adults loved it too.

This Zoo is special one. Besides that you can walk into kangaroos enclosures and birds aviaries with no barrier experience. How organic. It felt extraordinary to be so close to these birds and animals.
The amazing white headed whistling duck was unexpected discovery. I did not realize I’d be having a favorite duck specie.
Beautiful all around. Animal are very happy and well fed. Large part of the zoo delicates to kids play area. The hands on experience area will be opening soon with goats and pigs to interact with directly.
The ticket can be bought online ahead of time for $25 and parking is $11 also convenient to buy ahead of time and avoid lines if any.

Had a great time with my family... The only thing is all of their bathrooms were broken because of a bad sewer man. Unfortunately from my daughter and wife they had to squat on all porta potties. You can't beat the weather or the view. We'll definitely be coming back.

This is a relatively smaller zoo compared to a few others in larger cities. Perhaps due to weather or other reasons, several animals were not there in the exhibits but overall our family had a good experience and we were able to walk around the entire zoo within 2 hours or so.

Stearns Wharf is a beautiful wooden pier located in downtown Santa Barbara, CA. It has been around for over a century and is known for its restaurants, shops, and aquarium. The pier also offers great views of the ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains. Tourists frequently visit to explore the pier's many attractions.
This is the third time I have been to Santa Barbara. It is absolutely gorgeous by the water! My wife, my mother, and I walked back and forth on Stearns Wharf. The views of the mountains and palm trees in the distance are so beautiful that no photo can really do it justice.
You can park on the pier, but you have to pay for it after a certain amount of time. There are some great restaurants there in case you get hungry. It is best to just take a seat and take in the view.

Very relaxed and clean compared to many other beaches here in California! Great atmosphere and very nice ocean views from the pier. Great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. You will most likely see some birds up close if walking the pier. Good amount of parking so it should not be a problem at least when I went in the morning. Coffee and food options all within walking distance as well.

I live in the mountains, so it's exciting for me to be near an ocean. I enjoyed a sunburned afternoon at Stearn's Wharf. I was on my own so I could take my time and enjoy the wharf and Santa Barbara.
I did not know where to park when I arrived, so I was pleasantly surprised to see parking is available on the wharf. The first spots I eventually determined (from vendor websites) are for businesses, not sure that is still the case (it's labeled valet parking on a wharf map). So I moved my car to a spot further along the wharf. Parking was plentiful Saturday morning, but quickly filled up by late morning. I was worried about expensive parking, but after seeing the parking prices in town, it turned out to work for me so I didn't have to move the car throughout the day.
There are a variety of restaurants and at least one dessert vendor. There are also museums and boat tours. I took advantage of a boat tour (again, I'm not a water person) and enjoyed the laid back hour on the water.
It's a bit rough if you are in a wheelchair, but doable. I didn't plan ahead with sunscreen. This is little shade during the day.

Stopped by here with family for 2+ hours as one stop on our road trip. Walked on the beach, wharf and down State Street. There are many tourists. It’s a cute place, as I love to visit beachside towns. The restaurant we wanted to eat at was very busy, so we bought take out ceviche and ate it on a picnic blanket on the grass by the water. We saw people renting the four people bikes riding along the bike path. If I have a chance to come here in the future, I’d want to try out biking down the bike path with the kids.

A great place to come in the area for amazing views of the coastline and ocean. We were staying at a hotel down the road and walked here so I don’t know much about the parking available (other than that there is parking ON the pier which I found...interesting given what usually leaks from cars will do so into the ocean??)
The shining star for visiting though is the atmosphere, quiet, and views. There are some restaurants here as well (we ate at Char West) and people fishing off the dock. All good vibes!
Would come here again for a relaxing walk!

Nice place with pacific view, plenty of restaurants, shops, activities, fishing etc. just opposite to the downtown, walk a little. Only one thing is absurd i. e. Vehicle like cars, vans etc ride onto the wharf and can park here. I think it’s not a sustainable decision. Heavy vehicles may damage the wharf and also its not an eco friendly approach. It should be stopped.

Such a novelty to drive on a wharf and so worth it to look back at the bay views. Well worth a visit!
The city courthouse, Santa Barbara County Superior Court of California, is a beautiful edifice in the Spanish-Moorish style popular throughout the city. It is home to the court system for Santa Barbara, and it is one of the best free things to do in town. The courthouse features colorful gardens and a four-faced clock tower. There is also a mural room with painter Daniel Sayre Groesbeck's romanticized version of Santa Barbara's history on display.
This is one of the most beautiful buildings in the United States! I know like that seems like an exaggeration, but I'm not joking. Walking around the building reveals countless architectural details, from stained-glass windows, to tiny stone bridges. The inside is even more striking--long, colonnaded hallways lined with tapestries and heavy, carved wooden furniture. The mural room, which has a 360 degree mural, is jaw-dropping. The clock tower is free to enter and offers an unimpeded view of Santa Barbara, from the oceans to the mountains; this is where you realize why Santa Barbara is called the American Riviera! the surrounding gardens are amazing too--tropical palms, green grass, and redwoods offer a perfect place for a picnic. From its painted ceilings down to its tiled-floors, the Santa Barbara County Courthouse is a must-see!

I never look for locations in movies and TV shows, but as a Psych fan I took advantage of a business trip nearby to find this building. I was somewhat surprised the show took the theme of this building and included it in the police station scenes.
This was an enjoyable stop. I walked around the building for pictures and enjoyed the gardens in the back. Signs said the building was closed, but upon walking to the entrance in the overhang, guards motioned me inside.
There is a tower you can reach after a few flights of stairs. At the top you have a wonderful panoramic view of Santa Barbara with displays explaining some landmarks. I walked parts of the building enjoying the architecture of a functioning county court building. The courtroom was open and available for public viewing.
This was a fun stop I ordinarily would not do.

It is deemed the Most Beautiful Government Building in the country for a reason! This building was built in 1929 after the 1925 destroyed most of the city. We took the self guided tour and there are guided tours available. The architecture and details were so beyond beautiful. These pictures don’t even do it justice. The Law Library rivals anything seen in Europe.
A must is to climb the clock tower stairs (or take the elevator) for the amazing 365 views. Many people get married here in the Sunken Gardens on the property.

Beautiful grounds and building. Take the free tour to learn all about the history but you can also self guide your own tour. I took the free 10:30am tour and I really enjoyed it. You’ll need to go through a security check before entering. There’s bike parking on the grounds just past the entrance door kind of tucked in behind the arch way to the right. There is a observation deck all the way at the top and on your way up, you can see the bells that ring on the hour. You can walk stairs or there’s an elevator.

Santa Barbara County Courthouse is a stunning example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. Designed by William Mooser III, it was completed in 1929 and has since become one of the most iconic buildings. The building's exterior is a sight to behold, featuring elaborate ornamentation, intricate tile work, and a soaring clock tower that dominates the skyline. The courthouse's interior is equally impressive, with a grand atrium that is filled with light and surrounded by ornate balconies. Architecture is a remarkable achievement in both form and function. Its unique blend of Spanish and Colonial Revival styles, combined with its impressive scale and attention to detail, make it a must-see for anyone interested in architecture or history.
Located in Santa Barbara, CA, the Old Mission Santa Barbara is a Spanish mission that features period art and artifacts as well as gardens with ocean views. The Catholic Church was built in 1820 and still holds religious services. Inside the mission, you can see features left from when it served as the Santa Barbara Mission before becoming an active church.
Don't rush through - take your time and absorb the beauty of this Mission. So much to see here. You can visit the crypts and walk around the gardens. Such a stunning place with gorgeous architecture. I wish we got the chance to attend a service here - next time for sure.

Beautiful place with amazing history. This visit I was reminded of the lone woman taken from the Channel Island. It did seem her story got a disproportionate amount of attention compared to all of the hundred years or more of Catholic mission in this location. But I suppose that's because women and native Americans are politically correct right now.
With COVID, mission tours dropped off and therefore the revenue. So there are many places where I wish there could be more restoration. Right now it looks very shabby. And the admission even for four seniors was over $50 which seemed much too high for what you get which is only a self-guided walk. But if you think of it as a contribution then I suppose it's okay. I do hope the organization finds increased revenue and can spruce things up a little bit. Even volunteers to improve the gardens would be nice.

There is a beautiful rose garden located right in front of the mission which I highly recommend exploring if you are also going inside of the Mission. It is a beautiful property and people were picnicking on the grass I it front it is perfect for that. When we were there, there was goats grazing on the pasture next door that you could look at. There was accessible bathrooms and plenty of parking. There was also a lovely gift shop.

This is an above average campground with good amenities, proximity to Solvang, and access to a nice lake/reservoir. The RV sites are ample & have full hook-ups. Tow vehicles are not counted as a 2nd car so you can actually have a 3rd vehicle for $10 per night extra. Make sure the rangers designate your tow vehicle as a tow vehicle with the window permit on check-in.
You can have a tent buddy-camp next to an RV on the RV sites, but tenting only at RV sites is not permitted.
Notable Pros: (1) Proximity to lake via various marked hiking trails from most camp areas (2) Fairly well-stocked General Store with firewood, ice, liquor, RV accessories, etc. (3) Rangers were very helpful, present & courteous throughout - unlike the CA State Parks/Beaches (4) boat rentals available & being on the lake with a motorized boat was GREAT!
Cons: (1) Dog run was horrible, dry, foxtail & burr infested and simply not suitable for pets. Our neighbor stated she would take her dog to Solvang for morning walks. Keep the pooches on the pavement at all times. (2) Disc Golf course was a mixture of dirt, dry grass, and back trails...not inviting in the least & scenery was dismal. (3) General Store, restaurant & most camp amenities closed on Mondays (4) fishing is advertised, but it is clear the lake is lacking in fish stock - prepare for an all-day fishing excursion with little or nothing to show for it (from shore, in boat, etc.) - this based on inquiring with other fishermen & trying various spots (5) Aggressive racoons ransacking campsites looking for food - we had 4 little burglars in our campsite moving stuff around at 3 AM.
So this camp ground is about a 3.5 star which can easily be a 5 star with some noted fixes. Very dry and dusty and not environmentally pet friendly, but a great location & lake area.

If you’re heading to Solvang from Santa Barbara, most likely Google maps will direct you to take CA- 154. It’s a scenic route and you’ll see the lake on the right side.
There is an entrance fee but since I wasn’t really staying for a long time, I really appreciate the ranger who gave me a short time pass just to see the water and the facilities; so that was a really courteous gesture. There are multiple campsite areas, a landing dock for boats, ample parking, convenience store, gas station and there’s one restaurant by the lake.

The memories we created at this incredible beach spot will undoubtedly linger, making it a place we long to return to for future adventures. If you're searching for a slice of paradise to pitch your tent, look no further than Refugio.

A gorgeous beach that doesn’t get too busy. Day parking is $10 for vehicles and more for RVs. I’ve been in winter and summer and it’s always a beautiful view. Great for pictures and the waves are alright. Bathrooms on site plus showers. The color of the water is almost like the emerald waters of Miami but not quite. A great beach no less and definitely recommend.

We stayed in the Bouchard Group camp site. Great location on a bluff, uninterrupted view of the water. There were bathrooms and showers in the group site. Two water sprockets for cleaning. No outdoor sink but plenty of picnic benches. Nice beach with little to no current. Very nice site for group camping.

Lovely beach, nice campsite with hot showers. Facilities need updating but clean. Need credit card to buy tokens for the showers, minimum 20 dollars!!!! Nice rangers and host. There's even a small shop with souvenirs and basics. Lots of driftwood you can burn

Beautiful views. Campsite, playground great for family picnics. Just no dogs allowed on the beach side. They do have bathrooms near by.

Secluded with lots shade. Very picturesque beach with palm trees.
Best of the three beaches along the Gaviota coast (Refugio, El Capitan, and Gaviota).
Head west along the beach to the rocky area and cliff for nature hike.. Amazing views and nice vistas on top of the cliff.
Ten dollars entry allows you to visit all three beaches in one day with one pass.
Clean restrooms. Clean showers by the gift shop. 25 cent for two minutes. Parking right near the beach.

It's pretty views. They have picnic tables that are first come first serve. A park grill is at each table. If you want solitude this is NOT the state park for you. Areas are very well maintained so don't bring your mess. I rated 3 stars because dogs are not allowed on the beach and the area that the dogs can be in is on rocky hills and slopes with broken wood.

The beach is lovely but the campground layout is just too close together for my tastes. You're camping with all your neighbors, no divisions between spots to speak of.
Also, they didn't tell us that there was no on site place to buy firewood. We had to break down camp and go into town to get some. Easily avoidable hassle if they'd just put up a sign or told us at check-in.
It is beautiful though.

It was wonderful! The accommodations were great. I will certainly return. We had a local seal come up and play in the surf.. a first time experience for me in 30 years of living here in So. Cal.

Stopped by this beach on our way back to LA from solvang because we wanted a place to enjoy our pastries. We drove along the coast and couldn't really find a beach without paying and didn't want to miss sunset. I wish you didn't have to pay however this beach was really nice and that is probably why. We had the beach to ourselves for sunset and it was so lovely. Saw some dolphins too. Nice bathrooms and it seems like it would be a good place to camp along the coast. Idk how much camping is but a day pass is $10
Sammie Peters — Google review
The campground is absolutely beautiful. We had the pleasure of watching dolphins at the beach, and we noticed fishermen catching a good amount of fish. However, there was one significant issue - there seemed to be tar in the water. This tar can stick to any part of your body, and it's nearly impossible to get off, especially if it's on your feet. Washing it won't help much. The best remedy I found was using cooking oil. It's a shame there weren't any warnings about this.

Beautiful place. We stopped by at the right moment traveling to Disney was about 4:30ish. Nice place to camp also.

The beach was beautiful! So many cute squirrels and birds. I highly recommend going in the early morning because beach gets much busier as the day goes on, but up until about 10:30 AM to 11. You pretty much have the beach to your self.

Such an awesome place to camp. I loved the sunsets here. The palm trees are iconic of course! It makes you feel like you're in Hawaii, not California. The campground hosts were so friendly and helpful. Take a walk down the beach and your footprints might be the only ones you'll see. The showers and restrooms were pristine and well maintained. You gave a great view of the Channel Islands on a clear day. There's something for everyone. Basketball courts and playgrounds for the kids. You will often see people scuba diving here during the during the weekend and there's a fun little surf spot at the west end of the bay! I can't wait to go back.

This beach was recommended by California native. I also lived in California for about 4 1/2 years myself. Beautiful beach if you get a chance to go there go. There is a parking fee. Enjoy.
Old Mission Santa Ines, established in 1804, serves as both an active Catholic parish and a museum offering tours and a gift shop. It provides visitors the opportunity to explore the history of indigenous peoples and missionaries through art and workmanship exhibits.
Step back in time to Old California. This is an active Catholic parish that is beautifully maintained. The tour is worth taking and exploring the art, workmanship and history of the indigenous peoples and Missionaries. The gardens are well maintained and calming. The grotto area depicts San Juan Diego kneeling before Our Lady of Guadalupe. Also, the outdoor Stations of the Cross allow you to reflect on our Lord's Passion. There are picnic tables under the shade trees for a nice lunch. The restrooms are clean, parking is convenient and do not forget to visit the gift shop.

I've been to a lot of Missions. I grew up in So Cal. This one feels a little different. It's not crazy crowded like San Juan Capistrano, for example. It's really chill and the surrounding landscape is beautiful. Vineyards and farms, as well as the Dutch town of Solvang surround this mission. I don't think I would spend a lot of time here, but it's worth an hour or so. I tried to enter the church but it was closed. Take a nice walk around the grounds then go get some yummy Dutch treats in town.

Beautiful old church. Glad I stopped by. The surrounding area is beautiful as well, it has great views of the landscape. There are many rooms that have artifacts and information, so plan to spend some time here appreciating everything if you are interested in this kind of stuff.

One of the beautiful and peaceful spot nearby the busiest town. You can walk here from the town. They do have tours but unfortunately I couldn’t register for it as there were private events going on both times.
The view from the park next to the church is beautiful. They have benches over there. Just sit and experience the beauty.

This is one of the quite place to visit
1. It is one of the oldest church around
2. The gardens are beautiful
3. You will see the nice forest view from here
Need improvements
1. Not much in gift shop
2. Could have opened church for all time

It was not crowded when visiting. Unfortunately did not take a tour. Just strolling outside the premise you'll get to see some nice sights. Great view of land from the parking lot (parking lot on the premise). The small garden is beautiful.

Tremendously gorgeous church which is still in use today. Even if you don't get inside the church, the views near by are enjoyable. From walking around on paved paths, to admiring the architecture, and also looking at the overlook of vast grassy fields, this is an enjoyable visit in Slovang. Not a must visit in the city, but fun nonetheless.

Historic mission with active Catholic Church allows self-guided tours for $8. The tour covers the historic structures, models for past structures, some artifacts, original bells, historical timeline, access to the church sanctuary, the gardens and cemetery. There is also a good bit of artwork associated with the mission on display throughout. A paper guide is provided. There is a small gift shop, which is where you pay for the tour. Free public parking is available outside the mission, a very short walk. There are also restrooms adjacent to the parking lot. These are the only available restrooms for visiting the mission, but it is not a long walk.
LR P — Google review
Parking: free and in front of the mission with a big lot.
Unlike other missions, this one is not state operated, it's a functional parish, the church and grounds have no entry fee. The church might be closed for private events like weddings at times.
The church is beautiful and like old Mexican and European churches with lots of old icons, art and statues! I wish they used the old altar, the new one is out of place for the building.
A must see if your in Solvang

I enjoy visiting Catholic churches, for education, culture and inspiration and to take the opportunity for some quiet time and prayer during business travel.
I visited a few old churches here in the central California coast and am impressed with the longevity of these communities.
This church charges an admission, which I'm happy to pay to help keep open and available to the public. The entrance is to the left of the main doors at the souvenir shop.
You walk from the shop through several rooms that illustrate the history of the mission. I couldn't spend much time here and may come back for more in depth reading.
The museum and church was not busy and I did have time for quiet prayer.
The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. I don't know if it is appropriate to picnic here, but would make for a great stop with family.
Fess Parker Winery & Vineyard is a family-owned establishment that offers tastings of Burgundy and Rhone-style wines amidst beautifully manicured grounds. The staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience for visitors. The winery is also dog-friendly, making it an ideal location for pet owners to enjoy some delicious wine while their furry friends relax under the shade of a tent.
Nice wine and great tasting room staff. Very dog-friendly! Brought our very large golden retrievers, and were very comfortable in the shade under a tent. It’s all outdoor seating now as they do some renovations but we were fine with that since we have dogs and the weather’s nice

A stunning location for a winery, plenty of outside space (it was January and we drank Al fresco). Classic tasting price for 4 glasses was $25, 'Enhanced' tasting price was $35. We could do mixed options within our group. I went for the classic. I gave it 4 stars as unfortunately I didn't remember any of them distinctly. The Enhanced menu had a $90 Napa red wine which was delicious. The food in photo we brought ourselves, but there is a pizza van on site.

Yes, yes, yes! If you are wondering if you should or should not visit Fess Parker, the answer is... Yes, you must go by! My wife and I had a wonderful experience. We both did a tasting and bought a bottle. We were served by Jack, but everyone we spoke with was super nice and helpful. We loved the wine, and the grounds are beautiful. This place is a MUST if you want some great California wine.

I have 1 reason for each star I did not add on this review. The wine was mediocre. The price for a wine tasting was expensive and we were very disappointed with almost every one we tasted. Most of the white wines smelled like burning brakes on a car. Weird, I know. The scenery was perfect and lovely.
The servers were so poorly dressed I was shocked. I thought it was embarrassing that they allow their servers to come to work dressed the way they were. Our server was wearing baggy shorts, t-shirt and an unzipped Hoodia sweatshirt. Very underwhelmed with the whole experience.

-Went to Fess Parker Winery where the film Sideways (2004) was filmed and did a wine tasting (also drove by Sideways Inn which has been demolished and rebuilt, and also drove by Ostrich Land (wish we would’ve stopped by there - also, both of these other locations were also in the film, the film of which was critically acclaimed by the way, but I thought was just meh, if you care what I think, although I would like to see it again now…)). Very dog friendly winery. It felt bigger than a lot of the wineries we passed by. It was also a lot more crowded. Decent amount of parking, and they had a pizza truck the day we were here (which we did not try). We kept getting harassed by yellow jackets, which was surprising since it's the dead of winter, but they mostly left us alone. They were very friendly here.

What a wonderful property. Highly recommended.
Enjoy wine tasting in the stylish building or the relaxing patio. Beautiful grounds to stroll or take a guided horse tour of the 700 acre property set among rolling hills dotted with pastures and small ranches.

We started our Santa Ynez wine tour at Fess Parker. The magnificent lodge had plenty of seating indoor and out. Seeing the pictures of Fess (aka Davy Crockett) with Walt Disney brought back old memories. The staff was friendly and attentive. The menu had a good selection of both whites and reds. The only improvement would have been some wood and a fire in that awesome fireplace to take the chill off the first morning tasting.

I’m not a wine aficionado, but I know a good place when I see one. We were visiting family and had a very relaxing wine tasting in a beautiful setting with perfect California weather. The people working here were attentive hosts and very engaging. We had grown up watching Fess Parker movies as kids so that made it even more special.

Great help on the phone by the guest experience manager, but unfortunately, the employees weren’t able/willing to clear time to give us the tour and experience we were promised. Very frustrating, since we chose this winery because of the offered experience and took over 6 hours to drive here. Overall a big anticlimax on our trip.
I’ve enjoyed Zaca Mesa syrahs for years and finally came to taste for my birthday. My boyfriend and I got two different flights - one red and the other mixed with some whites - both were amazing. Zaca Mesa has some of my absolute favorite bold peppery reds and they specialize in French varietals, which is why I love it so much. Our server Fish was awesome (his grandma planted some of the first vines!) and brought me their reserve special wine, which I of course had to purchase - too good!! He also recommended a winery in Paso Robles which I’m excited to visit next time. The outside tasting / picnic area at Zaca is beautiful, and they also have some food for sale or you can bring your own. Even the drive there through the beautiful country is absolutely delightful. Overall, wonderful experience and I can’t wait to come back!!

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was getting married at Zaca Mesa Winery. We instantly fell in love with how remote it is and how you truly feel like you are surrounded by nothing by nature. It’s set back from the street so we didn’t have to worry about cars zooming by like at other venues. Between the vineyards, the oak trees and spring/summer poppies, the setting is absolutely picturesque. Not only is the venue stunning but the staff, especially Tara Creighton are top notch. It was important for us to be able to connect with the staff and Tara did an amazing job of working with us and helping to manage the event on the day of. She truly went above and beyond and we are so very thankful for all her help. Zaca Mesa was very flexible and catered to our specific desires and vision. The site fee was very reasonable and it allowed us to spend money on other details like live music vs paying a fortune for just the venue. Another one of our favorites things about Zaca Mesa and arguably one of the biggest factors in our decision, is their wine. The wine is delicious and being able to choose between both Tread and Zaca Mesa wines allowed us to have the variety that we were looking for. Our overall experience with Zaca Mesa was incredible. We are grateful for the memories we made there and for all the incredible staff that helped to make our day perfect. If getting married in wine country is your dream, check out Zaca Mesa, it will not disappoint.

What a great experience! Started even when we called to inquire if they were family and dog friendly and Cathy was so friendly and inviting that we decided to book right away. So happy we did as it was exactly what we were looking for and felt like we were having a wine tasting picnic in a friend’s backyard 😍The patio was beautiful and Cathy was so welcoming, kind, attentive and informative as she led us through our mixed flight. I came here one gorgeous spring afternoon with my parents for a wine tasting and BYOB picnic. They have seating outside where you can bring your picnic and they will bring the wine tasting series to you. We all opted for the red tasting flight because Zaca is really known for its syrahs. The wines are superb and the woman serving us was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines, it was such a treat. It is really a wonderful experience and we all came out buying several bottles. The property is absolutely stunning and really worth a visit.

Good wines and nice property. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We did a red tasting flight and they brought the wine outside to where we were sitting. After the tasting, we ordered a bottle to have with our picnic lunch, which they encouraged. If I recall correctly, buying $70 worth of wine waives the tasting fee.

My girlfriend and I recently enjoyed one of our best wine-tasting experiences at Zaca Mesa Winery. We were celebrating our 3-year anniversary and wanted to experience the best wineries in the Santa Barbara County area.
The customer service at Zaca Mesa was top notch, the ambience was warm and relaxing, and the wine was amazing. While all of the wines we tasted were delicious (in particular their Syrahs, which is what put them on the map) , our favorite was their 2019 Repose – a great blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot (we liked it so much, we took a nice bottle to continue celebrating back home!).
Having gone to Napa and Temecula numerous times, I can say that our experience at Zaca Mesa was one of our favorites. Not surprisingly, Zaca has been one of the best wineries in the Santa Barbara County for decades (it’s celebrating its 50th anniversary this year!). It’s easy to see why. We’ll definitely be returning soon to experience more of their tasty Rhône-style wines and amazing ambience.

Jalama Beach County Park is a secluded and charming park by the ocean, with a winding road leading to it. The area features a popular snack shack, picnic tables, fire boxes, and a sundry store. The Jalama Beach Store offers basic wifi and sells famous Jalama burgers along with other sundries. Camping is available on first-come-first-serve basis after reservations fill up or for day-use fees.
A somewhat hidden gem of a county park off the beaten path. Winding road in and windy once you arrive but beautiful, remote spot along the ocean. Beautiful piece of coastline. Beach is pretty rocky and not too swim friendly. Also, there are tar seeps on this beach. Great spot for long beach walks and beachcombing. Can get very windy. Campground has good facilities. Hot showers, flush toilets and a small general store that carries most things you might need during your stay. Cafe has decent food. Both store and cafe close at 5. Camp sites are all mostly flat, but small and close to each other. Popular with dog owners.

Quick trip to see what the surf is like here. Quite the drive from SLO (1.5hrs at least). You can enter the park at 6am but have to buy a $10 pass as well, I believe the park is staffed at 8am.
Surf was big, middle tide, some lefts, a few rights. A lot of outside sets that caught me paddling a lot back to the break. Didn't end up getting any good rides 😞 Pretty shallow break and it breaks quite fast, a lot of closeouts. Rocky on the north end. There were a lot of sand fleas out today.
Nice to see a vegan burger option.

Not many know about this hidden gem. Need to book 6 months to the date in advance at midnight to get the "good spots" our family has been coming here for going on 8 years and my wife's family for a whole lot longer than that. The grill and store is family owned and one of the best burgers I've had. Don't expect hard alcohol but a nice cold beer and a burger is on the menu. The sights are amazing. Don't expect cell signal but there's enough wifi to do basic communication. We use it as an opportunity to disconnect and take in the things we take for granted with the everyday noise in the city life.

Covid restrictions have limited access to the park and the camp store but made it safer. Great food at the store with a limited menu, but the beloved Jalama burger is still flying off the grill. We went camping for 2 nights after Thanksgiving weekend. We had an RV Trailer and had a spot with electricity at the bluff. We had an awesome view and lucked out with spectacular sunsets. It was our first time in Jalama Beach and it is secluded. It is around 30 minutes to the town of Lompoc. Although there is wi-fi, the internet is slow and flaky. Expect a quiet, relaxing time here. First beach day experience 🏖️ Awesome time! We arrived at 12pm on Saturday July 15th, 2023. There was about a 30 minute or less wait to get in. The beach was not that crowded at all.
