Sometimes...the hunt for various activities pays off. I wasn't aware of a serious adventure like this. This is a serious step back into time.
I have never seen such safety in place. Zero things to fear.
Honestly...we should have done the half day experience. We were exhausted when we finally got to the car. It was a long day.. The train never goes faster than 17 MPH. Yes...the views are one of a kind. Between the animals on the loose and the occasional sole person wandering the wilderness....it is relaxing especially for me. Nothing like the trains I ride in Chicago. The Chicago views can't compete with this experience.
My only complaint is....the stop for lunch. Please put down some iron grate cause walkers struggle to move on rocks.

Lovely fall train ride. A bit pricey considering there was no hot lunch as advertised. Seems there was a kitchen fire just a few days before we went. The did brown bag lunches, turkey sandwich, chips, apple, and some sort of cookie thing. Drink choices were mediocre lemonade and water. The train left the station late on the way out. Our return trip was very slow as the engine seemed to be having an issue. We even had to stop partway back because the engine was over heating. The scenery was exquisite though. I'd go again some day.

The train ride was great. A lot of information. They were very helpful. You didn't feel like you're lost all the time. We Stopped at the midway point to have a buffet lunch, All the aspens tree's were gold.

Did the Antonito Express Half-Day Trip. The train ride was great. Rode in the open car for half the ride. A crew member gives a tour along the route.
The scenery is great. You get great views of the mountains, hills, and valleys along the way.
It can get windy and a little cold climbing the mountains, so you might want to bring a jacket.
The half-day trip only has snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You might want to bring your own food and drinks.
Definitely worth the price.

This was a full day train ride from Antonito to Osier and back. We went through Toltec Gorge and had a great lunch. We sat in the parlor car and they gave us a nice bag and travel cup. Fem was our server and she was super nice. We really enjoyed this beautiful steam train ride.
Theresa Hoban — Google review
This was such a fun experience! We camped the night before and took the bus from Antonito. Definitely recommend starting in Chama since we were so tired in the afternoon and wanted to nap. The whole trip is pretty but I felt better napping while we were in the less pretty sagebrush than I would have in the alpine portion. Our guide on the train was great and knew so much about the area. We will be back!
Claire Hamilton — Google review
This was the main objective of our trip out west! The opportunity to ride the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad. What an experience! We believe all railroad travel is good and fun, and ride trains whenever possible, but we are not train enthusiasts or have any knowledge of trains. We think it's fun and enjoyable and this train was all fun, total enjoyment. We had tickets in the parlor car with great views out our window that lowered for fresh air. We were greeted with a nice danish, a bowl of fruit and coffee if wanted. Our car had a dedicated, knowledgeable guide who not only pointed out interesting sights and answered any and all questions, she also served any drink requests that we had, including cocktails if that is what you might desire. The train chugged thru the southern Colorado high plains as it made its way to the mountains and then weaved thru beautiful mountains and valleys with 2 tunnels. The vistas were more beautiful than I could describe. The scenery was breathtaking, and I was humbled at the beauty that lies within our incredible country. A spectacular day of weather on this spectacular train ride and followed with a smooth and comfortable bus ride back to our original departure point! Highly recommended!

This was a great day trip! We stayed in the general/main cabin and it was a nice experience! Very scenic and the guides/volunteers have a lot of great information! The lunch was a big cafeteria style lunch (nothing to write home about, but wasn’t terrible either). The train does turn around at the top so you get to see both sides for the different views on your trip!
Danielle K — Google review
Really great experience. Well worth it! You can go out on the observation car and view all the scenery. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Bradley Smith — Google review
Loved our day on the train! The scenery was gorgeous - with the aspen trees turning yellow in the end of September. Saw coyotes and pronghorn antelope. We spent most of the ride in the open air car, so we had fabulous views. The train goes max 12 mph so you’re never wind blown. But you do need sunglasses for the sun and cinders. Staff is very friendly. Everything well organized. Lunch was buffet style and very good. One hint: if you’re looking for coffee and a freshly prepared breakfast burrito before the train departs Antonito, go to the Sinclair gas station.
Julie K Wood — Google review
During our visit to New Mexico and Colorado we rode both the Cumbres and Toltec and the Durango and Silverton Scenic Railroads. For me, the C&T was outstanding. Well worth a none hour flight and a five hour drive!
William Longley-Cook — Google review
It's a long day to ride the train to Antonito CO and bus back to Chama NM but we'll worth the time. Since our trip is in the fall the colors were beautiful. Our bus driver, Bus Driver Dave made the trip back go by fast with the information about the area and a joke or two.
Randy Torres — Google review
A great fall experience. The leaves were beautiful. The buffet at the Osier station was beyond expectations. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was they did not honor my request for seats on the left side of train. We rode from Antonito & the best side of the train is the left side especially if you’re into taking photos. Unfortunately on the day we rode the train it was too cold & windy for me to go to the open air gondola car to take photos. The docent was very friendly & informative. If you want souvenirs buy them in the morning as the gift shops are closed by the time you get back from the bus ride. When you arrive at the end you barely have time to use the restrooms before boarding the buses so there’s no time to shop then.

Was really fortunate to partake in the annual Cumbres & Toltec rail run as part of a photo workshop. We arrived in time for the end of Day 1 and the night photo shoot, which was technically challenging and I've been in the photo industry for 26 years! When the shots finally got nailed down, the final images were immensely satisfying. Such a specific and unique photo experience. Loved it. Our group rode day two on Engine 315. This was my first experience for anything this railroad intensive outside of a museum and, for me, it was a fantastic experience. The volunteers and crew are an absolute wealth of knowledge as are, frankly, the railroad fanatics that joined up. I love people who are passionate about their hobbies and these folks are fully committed, thoroughly obsessed, rail riders. I learned a ton about the history of the C&T, it's overall run from Antonito into Chama, and even a few interesting pieces of deep Americana: the James A Garfield memorial found in the absolute middle of nowhere was a brilliant addition to an already historic run. Look for the petroglyph just a few miles south of Antonito, up the hill on the west side of the track ... And the miner's grave somewhere just before Oshei. Either way: pack a camera with a good long lens because the photo ops are numerous... But benefit from the telephoto compression in a big way. PS the train may come down with a few mechanical issues, as ours did. I see zero reason to get upset: this engine is over 100 years old and runs unbelievably well for all of that. Keep in mind: this is how it was for runners and conductors of their day. Consider it a more authentic experience. Kill the need for a schedule and just enjoy the total feel of it all. 100% recommended.

This was such a great experience. No better combination of history and scenery and wildlife, plus genuine family time. I highly recommend doing this. We saw two bears and several elk. Super friendly staff.

This was a wonderful full day of beauty and fun. We had an excellent stay at the Victorian B&B the night before and walked about a block to the station. Then started with the bus to the CO train and spent the day with a stop for lunch (included) enjoying the sights coming back to Chama. My husband said this was the highlight of our vacation. Highly recommended. Take the parlor car if you have no kids.
The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is dedicated to the artistic legacy of Georgia O'Keeffe. It has over 3,000 works including 140 OKeeffe oil paintings and nearly 700 drawings dating from 1901 to 1984.
Fantastic experience at the museum. She has such an incredible life, fearless, and reinvented herself multiple times.
The nature paintings are fabulous.
The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

The museum was nice. I especially appreciate the glasses for color blinded people and tactile descriptions - I just wish there were more of them. I recommend to buy the tickets in advance.

Overall good museum, but also slightly disappointing. Was hoping to find more info/historical artifacts about her personal life. Did enjoy the video interview back in the 1980s, when she was in her 90s. Paintings were beautiful and nice gift shop.

10 stars. Awesome museum set up so well. Love the videos and listening to her speak. An awesome long lived life. A very simple lady who fell in love with New Mexico. So many colors and great gift shop

I visited on 3/11/22 and all I have to say is, "WOW, PERFECTION!"
The variety of masterpieces present us with an all-inclusive experience of the vast and amazing life that Georgia O'Keeffe lived and continues to share.
To people who say that the entrance fee is too much, I say, you didn't slow down and truly take-in the magnificence before you. As Georgia O'Keeffe said, "..take time to look."
Mateo D. — Google review
Stunning museum from one of art's true masters, Georgia O'Keeffe. Incredible exhibition. Varied history including her paints, brushes and visual history. The art is much more appreciated in person rather than a book. Her technique is superb in every visual way. One looks at deserts, flowers and the sky in such a a different manner. It's an incredible inspiration for anyone. The treasure of New Mexico.

This museum is on the smaller side but worth the visit. There was no wait in line, and the price was ~$22 for entry. The gift shop is well stocked, and the bathrooms were clean. We spent a little over an hour and a half inside. We also saw a cute dog on the way out.
MJ Ridenour — Google review
Wow! I've been wanting to visit the Georgia O'Keefe museum ever since my first trip to Santa Fe. I really enjoyed learning about the talents of the artist and to be able to view the Southwest through her perspective and all of her incredible art. I was uplifted and inspired.
The museum was extremely busy and crowded. I appreciate that the entries are staggered in order to limit the number of guests there at a time. The only I was disappointed by was the other patrons that were there the day I visited because there didn't seem to be much respect for the artist or the other patrons visiting. I would really love to spend a lot more time exploring when it's less crowded.

This museum displayed known and unknown pieces of art, spanning her many years as an artist. Liked being able to take pictures of certain artwork. Good for all ages, would visit again!

Dream come true! Beautiful museum and you will need to get advanced time tickets. Bring earbuds for a little tour through full of information. It's a wonderful experience. Also parking is expensive but stay for lunch or dinner, stroll through town to feel you got your money's worth!
Carolina Glenn — Google review
We had a good time. The museum was small. They change out paintings four times a year. I am partial to flower paintings. When we visited there were not many flower paintings. There is a gift shop to visit. You do have to make reservations. We found a parking lot that was close.
Kathy O'Keeffe — Google review
What an amazing museum! This museum has a comprehensive collection of Georgia O'Keefe's works from the early years to the years before her death. You definitely need to get tickets ahead. We came shortly after open, and the only tickets left were for 3:30 PM. We ended up shopping and hanging out in the area (there is a lot to see around there) until our time. With each piece, there is a detailed description providing historical context to the art. You can also get a guided auto tour if that's more your speed. I came in to this museum without a thorough understanding of her as an artist, and I came out with a new appreciation for her work! A must-visit if you come to Santa Fe!
Nico Pauly — Google review
A tad smaller thanI expected. No senior discount. Tickets are $22.
We arrived w/ about an hour before closing, and didn't miss anything. We like combing the gift shops, snd actually bought some cards.
Nice venue, though many works have low glare glass, still harder to take photos.
Marc Milrod — Google review
A beautiful tribute to the works of a cutting edge woman named Georgia O’Keeffe! An artist, sculpturer and visionary, who was years ahead of her time!
She lived an extraordinary life, painting, nature and spent her late years in the most beautiful area to paint, New Mexico!
Plan about two hours to walk through the museum so you can observe each piece of the Extraordinary collection!
Ed Pizza — Google review
The Museum was an awesome experience. I did not pre purchase so I had to wait for the next time slot to enter but was allowed to purchase. The audio guide I would highly recommend. The woman explaining how to operate the device was very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed how the art was displayed with younger works towards the beginning to see how she progressed through the years. Any fan of artwork would appreciate these works that are displayed and the admission price was fair for the exhibit and experience.
james tripp — Google review
Beautiful works. I had a small idea of who she was before visiting. After, I realize how influential of an artist she was. The collection at this museum is extensive and gorgeous. They even have some of her tools and paints etc. It was a great visit. If you’re into guided audio tours, they provide headphones and have an online audio guide for a slow paced, narrated walkthrough.

Well curated museum with changing exhibits!
Friendly staff throughout!
Security was great and very knowledgeable!
Kathy was doing spot tours, I highly recommend stopping to chat for more information, she was fantastic!
They offer closed captioning, audio guides, courtesy wheelchairs and color correcting glasses!
They have restrooms, water fountains and a coatroom for personal items!
No pets are allowed except for service animals.
I visited on the first Friday of the month and they were offering free entry from 5pm-7pm!
Stop by the gift shop on your way out they have a great selection!

Beautiful gallery with gorgeous artwork displays. If a New Mexico resident, take your ID and go on the first Friday of the month as is free for residents that day. You must find paid parking off site. No parking lot at museum.
Heather Moran — Google review
Yes, there are quite a few pieces here, yet just a couple of what I considered "classic" O'Keefe pieces depicting skulls and flowers. Would've rather gone to her home museum near Abiquiu, I think.
Brian Baker — Google review
The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico, stands as a testament to the life and works of one of America's most celebrated artists. Visiting this museum is not merely an excursion into art; it's a journey through O'Keeffe's evolution as an artist and a glimpse into the landscapes and inspirations that shaped her iconic style.
Upon entering the museum, visitors are greeted by a carefully curated collection that spans O'Keeffe's entire career. From her early abstract experiments to her later, more famous works featuring enlarged flowers and New Mexican landscapes, the museum provides a comprehensive look at her artistic progression. The layout of the museum allows for a chronological exploration, offering insight into the influences and experiences that influenced O'Keeffe's artistic vision.
One of the most striking aspects of the museum is its ability to showcase O'Keeffe's mastery of color and form. Her use of vibrant hues and bold compositions captivates viewers, drawing them into the intricate details of her paintings. The museum's lighting and display techniques further enhance the viewing experience, allowing visitors to appreciate the subtle nuances of O'Keeffe's brushstrokes and textures.
In addition to her paintings, the museum also houses a collection of O'Keeffe's personal items, including clothing, tools, and photographs. These artifacts offer a more intimate perspective on the artist, allowing visitors to connect with her on a more personal level and gain insight into her daily life and creative process.
The museum's educational programs and exhibitions add another layer of depth to the experience. From guided tours to interactive workshops, visitors have the opportunity to delve deeper into O'Keeffe's art and legacy. Special exhibitions often feature works by other artists who were influenced by O'Keeffe or explore themes related to her life and work, providing a broader context for understanding her impact on the art world.
The Inn & Spa at Loretto is a luxurious property with pueblo-inspired architecture and a spa, pool, and chic restaurant. The property is perfect for those looking to escape the everyday hustle and bustle of life. With its beautiful architecture and convenient location, the Inn & Spa at Loretto is a must-stay for anyone visiting Santa Fe.
We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Loretto Inn & Spa. The staff was professional, attentive, sweet and super helpful. We met for a last minute girls trip from all over the country and did minimal planning. The staff went above and beyond to help us plan and enjoy our stay. The hotel was beautiful, clean, a short walk to a bunch of great restaurants and has an amazing breakfast. We can’t wait to come back with the whole family.

We stayed in the Pueblo Double room at the Inn and Spa at Loretto and it was comfortable with plenty of room for the two of us. It had all of the amenities that we desire. The service from the valets, front office, restaurants and shops was excellent. The location is ideal as the Loretto Chapel adjoins the property. It's a short walk to the Plaza, La Fonda and many shops and restaurants. There is a lounge area with a full bar, fireplace and had entertainment two of the nights we stayed there.

We spent nearly two weeks in June and had a very enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly and keen to provide a good service. Special thanks to Josh and his Front Desk Team for ensuring that we stayed in our preferred room as soon as it was available. Pamela, as on a previous visit, was especially helpful.

BEWARE - this hotel is writing, posting, and responding to reviews on this and other platforms.
I ended up checking out a night early and changing my flight back to dc to get away. The room left a lot to be desired. It was dim, not soothing dim - dark dim. They’re also dated. I understand maintaining a vibe, but there’s a way to do it and keep it fresh.
As for he rest of the hotel…. The spa has no nail tech, so the spa is essentially somewhere to get a massage. The pool and hot tub were being rebuilt, and in addition to them not saying that up front - they charge a 30/night amenity fee for amenities you can’t use.
The manager didn’t respond to my email, and the front desk will put you on hold and never pick up. Don’t stay here y’all.. there are other places to stay in Santa Fe - stay there

Loved our room (basic but comfy). The service was good and above par. We had a lot of interaction with the valet guys because we brought our bikes along. They were helpful and informative. Splurged on a $300 massage. While the massage was good...no spa facilities were offered (sauna, pool, shower?) We really enjoyed the happy hours offered by the hotel and the ability to meet other travelers. We stayed four nights and recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.

First of all, we loved our stay at the hotel. Great lobby and bar, and our room was perfect. Clean, cozy, sunny, and four-poster bed.
But here's the cool part. I was speaking yesterday with Tracy, one of the concierge pro's. I mentioned that I was hoping to ski while we were in town. Tracy told me all about this excellent local ski area called Ski Santa Fe. Really good terrain.
Anyway, this morning, I went up there, and guess who I ran into in the lift line... Tracy!
He gave me a personal tour of the resort. We skied the whole time until I had to get back to town. This was the best ski day I've had for years.
Best of all, Tracy is an awesome skier. I could hardly keep up. Thank you, Tracy!!

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Excellent location, and the hotel is nice; but is best suited for older clients. We had so much hit & miss here, that it makes a good or bad review hard. We visited in the winter and the hot tub was broken, so they told us we could walk across the street to another hotel. The restaurant, Luminaria, is good, but nothing to overly brag about. Things close really early or open late, so be prepared to visit other hotels for drinks and food. We had a really good time next door at La Fonda. In-hotel amenities are there - but not really accessible at the same time. This hotel prides itself on being historic, but for us, it's a bit too stuffy. You're definitely paying for location here.

This location is amazing! From the moment we arrived the team here were excellent. From the valet team to Edward B. at the front desk. Edward made our stay here the best it could be. He made great food and shopping recommendations as well as site seeing spots. Thank you Loretto team for such and womderful time, especially Edward B. for his attention to the details.

Much of my review is a result of the room we were given. I paid for a terrace room, which I envisioned as being a room with a balcony overlooking the city/town. Instead I was given a ground floor room right off of the main lobby "living room", about 30 feet from the piano player. Our terrace was a 2' x 10' enclosed patio adjoined the parking lot. The room had some spiders / bugs in the corners (which isn't housekeeping's fault) but wasn't what you want to see in a luxury hotel. Location was decent, staff was pleasant. Will likely not stay there again.

Location is excellent, within a block of downtown. Hotel decor looks somewhat worn considering the resort fee and room prices. Hotel pool is still being renovated after a year, pool and gym are available at a sister property. The check-in process is not streamlined, ask for complementary coffee credit as it will be forgotten. Hotel restaurant options are well presented, although service is slow. Happy hour is very popular. Valet service is friendly and well-informed on local activities.

The Spa services are amazing! We just LOVED it and felt like we were on cloud nine. I have had a lot of body work done in the past but this surpassed all of it! I would highly recommend Linda Sampson for massage. Not to be missed!!

Great stay and amazing staff, but I wish I could say the same about the security of the area. When walking outside the main entrance of the Loretto at night, you may feel a bit unsafe since there's occasional homeless and sketchy people walking near the premise. I think it's important to have security patrolling the area at night, specifically on Old Santa Fe Trail, to make make guests feel more comfortable.

Booked 3 rooms ( family trip) and for most of our stay - 2 of those rooms had toilets that wouldn’t flush!!!!! so GROSS!!!!! Had to have “Engineering” come by 4 times!! This seriously impacted our Tours. The food in the main Restaurant was terrible for Dinner, practically inedible…. NOT much better for Breakfast…. Other than that…and being in need of a serious updating… it is centrally located, which makes bopping around the Downtown area of Santa Fe- a breeze. On the upside- Arturo at the Bar was wonderful!

We loved the Inn and Spa at Loretto! In particular, we loved the shops inside the hotel, the cute little coffee shop, Josh at the front desk, who was super helpful, with restaurant recommendations, and ideas on things to see and do, the bartender and ambiance in the Living room Bar, the large, comfortable room, and the location - so close to the Plaza! It feel like a quiet, high end hotel very close to all of the fun in Santa Fe! The only bummer is that the pool area is under construction, so not usable now, but it looks like it will be a beautiful space when it opens!

We had the greatest experience on our girls trip. The staff was all so extremely kind and generous, especially Hal. As soon as we checked in Hal greeted us and told us everything about the town, where to go dine and the places to see. He went out of his way to get us reservations, at an already booked restaurant, and spoiled us the entire trip. It felt like we were visiting family. Each night we would spend time in the lounge area by the fireplace and listen to the live music. The location is perfect to walk anywhere Georgia O'Keefe museum, MONA, Farmer's Market, restaurants, churches and shopping!

Our stay at the Inn and Spa at Loretto was fabulous. From the moment we arrived our experience was first rate. From the Valet parking attendants to the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was super helpful and friendly. A special thank you to Pamela who made my wife's Birthday special. The Inn is well taken care of and it shows in the cleanliness of the Lobby, Rooms, Grounds and Restaurants. It’s evident that the ownership and staff take great pride in their Inn and strive to give great service. The room was perfect and exceeded our expectations in every way. The location is great and is within easy walking distance to everything. We will definitely be staying there again when we return to Santa Fe!

I visited for a work conference. The hotel is clearly billing itself as an upscale experience, but the service doesn’t reflect that.
The valet didn't know what event was being held that day and was dismissive. The front desk staff member seemed bored. The catered breakfast was decent.
The location is great and the hotel is a nice building with services and shops scattered throughout.
I'd likely find another hotel when visiting for pleasure because of the staff, especially the valet.

Location is fantastic and most things are walkable. Valet guys were great, knowledgeable and fast. You're forced into valet if you drive. The Hotel is beautiful and lots of photo op areas in the front.
The room was VERY dusty, like I was able to see the dust stuck to the tv that has been there so long it would be hard to remove. The bed was very comfortable but the down pillows held onto a lot of allergens and made for a rough week. The patio was cool but the doors didn't lock or shut properly so when the wind blew it would leak into the room. The toilet handle nearly feel off and my partner had to screw it back together so we could flush. Did I feel the room was worth what I paid for it, no. Did we mostly enjoy our stay, yes.

Very nice old hotel in the heart of Santa Fe next door to the Loretto Chapel. The rooms are spacious, but baths are a bit dated. The beds are extremely comfortable, however. The little kiva fireplace is quaint, and service was exquisite. The meeting facilities were top-notch and a great place for a retreat. The hotel rooms have balconies with chairs and a table.

This hotel was one of the best we’ve stayed at AND ITS HAUNTED!
When we first arrived we were greeted by the valet who were awesome and at the front desk was Naomi who my partner and I both thought was one of the best hotel staff people we’ve ever met. Naomi was professional, naturally friendly and knowledgeable. She was quick and just had an over all good vibe.
The first few minutes in our room we kept hearing knocks at the door. But when we checked no one was there. I immediately realized that this old hotel must be haunted. So I went ahead and spoke out loud to the spirit and let them know that we come in peace and wouldn’t be staying long and that they are welcome in the room with us. The knocks stopped. No more haunting.
Santa Fe is gorgeous. I hope everyone gets the chance to visit and stay at the Inn and Spa at Loretto

The front desk and valet attendants were great. Super helpful! Rooms were fine other than the couple of spider friends we found, which freaked our daughter out. A good stay, and repeat spot for us.

Location perfect, price reasonable, service friendly and accommodating, with comfy beds and hot showers! Read a few reviews that stated rooms were outdated. I have to disagree, maybe they are renovating some rooms, not sure. However, we got 2 adjoining rooms - one king and one double - both were decorated tastefully in modern southwest decor. Bar in lobby was also nice with fireplace and large space to sit and relax. Also dog friendly. Highly recommend!

I have not stayed here before… BUT when I was in Santa Fe I saw the exterior of the hotel and it was awesome! It really did look like a Pueblo house. And it’s in a great location! Good job Inn and Spa at Loretto!
This imposing cathedral, built between 1869 and 1886, is a beautiful example of the Romanesque Revival style. It features lovely stained glass windows and towering Corinthian columns, and its interior is quite austere. The Chapel of Lady of the Rosary is all that remains of an earlier adobe church at this site.
Exquisite! Perfectly lovely inside. Quiet, clean, and expertly cared for. Amazing and beautiful. Church is from 1715 but looks new. Free admission, donations can be made. Please look at all the nooks and crannies. The stain glass is fantastic. Look up to see the massive pipe organ.

I'm not a religious person but I do appreciate beautiful architecture.
This church was magnificent and had a very charming appeal. I enjoyed walking around and observing all the intricate details of the church as it is still a functioning church. It is very well maintained.
Entrance was free and they had people there who talked about the history and could answer your questions if any.

Beautiful architecture symbolized landmark of old SantaFe downtown. I strongly recommend to learn about the history of here. This is must-visit place during your SantaFe traveling.

St. Francis is a gorgeous Cathedral. For those visiting Santa Fe it is a must visit. The downside is it is bustling with tourists. Thankfully Missy don’t stay long, but the stream of people is continuous. The only semi-quiet place I could find, sit and pray, meditate was the chapel area to the right of the altar where the confessionals are.
While there, I recommend walking there grounds, Prayer Garden, and the adjacent park.

2nd visit to this lovely church.
Inside and outside are beautiful. Well kept, peaceful grounds.
The church bells sound glorious and the Labrynth out front is a wonderful metaphor for life's journey.

Beautiful and historical building. The grounds are beautiful as well. It’s worth a visit whether or not you’re religious. If you’re a reader, I highly recommend reading Death Comes For the Archbishop by Willa Cather before visiting - the novel is based on the life of Archbishop Jean Baptiste Lamy who was instrumental in building the cathedral.

Very beautiful place. You get a true feel for the historical and religious significance of the basilica by walking around and reading the placards. Will visit again if I am ever in the area.

No admission fee, just a donation box. If you are in Santa Fe square you should at least go inside an look. Jaw dropping stained glass that was all imported from Europe. These pictures don't do it justice. Very peaceful even with a large amount of visitors.

The cathedral has magnificent stained glass windows. Plus a few paintings worth viewing. The docents are super helpful and you really have to take your time to enjoy the space. For me, the fountain was the unique centerpiece with the subtle running water. Definitely worth the time to visit and walk around.

Beautiful cathedral that is definitely worth a visit. I like that there is a separate area for private prayer to get away from all the tourists and have a serene moment.
The architecture of the church is beautiful as well as all of the paintings and statues (iconography).

The Basilica is beautiful. We attended mass on Saturday, and I loved it. The choir sang beautifully, and the music played with the bells was enchanting. I literally cried through the whole mass. ❤️

Well architected and decorated with taste. Most of the paintings have a story so ask a docent. One of statues has real hair donated by a parishioner—a little creepy but hey.

Beautiful Romanesque church at the heart of Santa Fe. It was closed when we arrived so we watched the sunset from its front steps. Nice gardens as well.

As you step inside this glorious house of worship, your gaze will be drawn heavenward by soaring ceilings adorned with frescoes depicting scenes from scripture while soft light illuminates golden accents throughout inspiring reverence.
Canyon Road is a picturesque street in Santa Fe, New Mexico that is home to over 100 art galleries, studios, and restaurants. The area is especially rich in Native American arts and crafts, with many galleries exhibiting stunning pieces of artwork. The street has a distinctly more residential feel, making it easy to walk around without having to fight traffic. Two fine dining restaurants are located on the street as well as one popular chocolate house.
Canyon Road is an enjoyable walk to visit many art galleries and studios.

I'll never travel to Branson without this trip planner again
New Mexico River Adventures offers all-inclusive trips that take care of everything from pick-up to drop-off, including rafting and photos, tasting fees, and lunch. The full-day trip in early April provided perfect weather for a mild class 2 & 3 experience with wet suits and splash jackets provided. Guests recommend purchasing NRS Wet Shoes for added comfort.
Our experience with NMRA was amazing! Our family (3 kids ages 11, 9 and 5) did the short Racecourse Half Day. The staff was so friendly during our whole experience - especially Ashley (spelling?). Devin, our guide, was DA MAN. He made the whole ride safe and fun. He kept the kids (and the adults) entertained and informed. I'll recommend to anyone visiting NM!

Rachel and Diego were the best guides ever. They knew their stuff, had great attitudes, and we're genuinely fun to be with all day. If I'm back in town again, I want them as my guides.
We took the all day trip, that wasn't worth it, we probably spent 90 minutes of it stopped waiting for another grouped or on shore eating- great fajitas though. Half day trip would have been fine since I didn't see much gained from the whole day in this case.
Pictures attached were from their photo package, definitely worth it, they did a great job there.

This was our second trip with New Mexico River Adventures. This time was an all day on the Rio Grande. Rachel was a great guide! While the flow rate of the river was low, we didn’t get stuck but a few times and never had to get out to walk. Great lunch along the route! Highly recommend!

Came here for a 3 night trip with my college and it was AMAZING!! The guides were so informed and passionate, even after 3 days of really hard work! The food was BEYOND better than I could have imagined for a river trip, literally ate steak on the first night… Needless to say if you want an amazing, beautiful, comfortable, and overall fun-tastic experience out on the water these are the people to go to!! Shoutout to Luke, Baker, Amelia, Auston, and Liv for making this trip so incredible!🙌

We had a great time with Austin as our guide for the full day trip with lunch included. We went in early April. The weather was perfect as it wasn’t too hot or too cold. We were provided wet suits and splash jackets which were just what we needed. I would recommend buying NRS Wet Shoes before you go (like wet suit shoes) because our feet would have been cold in the water is if we would have worn just sandals. Austin was pleasant and cooked a great chicken fajita lunch. The full day trip was class 2 & 3 and is very mild. Perfect for any family trip. Highly recommended and very reasonably priced.

Overall an awesome trip! We did the recourse kayaking & it was so much fun to be in your own individual kayak! Our guides Rachael & Jo did a great job keeping us safe while allowing us to have the best experience possible. Everything from initially booking to getting our pictures at the end was seamless. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Can’t wait to go again!

It was a wonderful experience. My family enjoyed a lot. The staff and special Diego (tour guide) were so nice. Everything was very clean (equipment and place). The organization (transportation, pictures, safety guidelines) and the way that they give you the tour are amazing., I will go again at the end of May. Be ready to have a lot of fun and do exercise. My mom is 70yo and she wants to go again. 😃

This experience was completely amazing! Our guide, Casey, was so much fun. He was very informative, and even though some in our group were a bit anxious at first, he made sure we were safe and felt at ease, even through an unexpected, sudden torrential downpour with crazy lightning and booming thunder. This was the experience of a lifetime and I cannot wait to do it again! I highly recommend NM River Adventures and if you get Casey as your guide consider yourself blessed!!!

I had some trepidation about this trip & I had a blast. As a relatively fit, (not uber fit) women in her mid 60's I wasn't sure to was for me ... It was great. A lot of care, (including safety is clearly very important to theM) a lot of fun and a great first rafting experience. My friend and I did the 'racecourse' run. And a special shout out to our raft guide EMILY, very efficient caring and fun. Great job New Mexico River Adventures

My 3 year old and I did the family float. It was super cute. Just a chill ride. Only complaint is the ants everywhere at drop in and out. Could they spray the area or something?
My older kids and hubby did the race course. They loved it!!
Casey and Mattie were our guides. The best!!! ❤️

We loved our rafting trip today! The equipment seemed all in good repair, the lunch was amazing, our guide (Devin) was concerned about our safety at all times, and we felt well prepared as we entered each set of rapids. Everything was done so well by everyone we encountered. Even the pictures offered at the end were great pics that we felt were well priced and not outrageous. Would 10/10 recommend!!!

This was my first rafting trip. Went with my two adult sons and had a blast. Dan L was our guide, and he was very professional and fun. The lunch was really good. The only critique we would

A friend and I did the all day box canyon trip on 4/29/24. Jake was a perfect guide: supportive, personable, and expert with the boat. He and the rest of the folks at New Mexico River Adventure shared the experience with us on a beautiful day on a beautiful river, in a beautiful canyon. All the equipment was first rate and they even managed to feed us a warm and tasty lunch with stuff they brought on the raft. I had never rafted before and always wanted to. This is the place.

The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is a remarkable bridge in America that stretches over the Rio Grande Gorge, measuring an impressive 650 feet long. It is situated near the Greater World Earthship Community, where self-sustaining homes made from recycled materials and earth can be found. These homes are both eco-friendly and stylishly designed to blend seamlessly with their surroundings on Taos mesa.
Cool area. Do not attempt to walk on the bridge if you have a fear of heights. You are really high up. There is a lot of movement when big trucks drive across the bridge. Great views!

Lovely view. Went in December so it was chilly. I've been to the Rift Valley in Kenya and this is a smaller version but still worth a look. Not much parking and the walk to the bridge is along a narrow dirt track. Local drivers dont slow down.
David Gilbank — Google review
This is really just a bridge, you stop before or after it and walk to be on the sidewalk part that over looks the gorge. It was pretty awesome. The road coming from Santa Fe was sketchy for a bit, really steep, narrow, and dirt, but we made it in our minivan. The bridge has cars going over it, and when a semi drive over it, the whole thing was vibrating. Kind of terrifying but so cool too!
Leslie M — Google review
The gorge was beautiful. It wasn't overcrowded, but I was surprised at how many people actually were there. If you aren't able to climb on rocky terrain and over a small ledge, you may want to park at the other end of the bridge and not at the parking area. in the parking area, there is restrooms and picnic tables. It would be a great place for a family photo or senior photos.
Amy Miles — Google review
It's worth stopping after you drive over the bridge. You can walk across the bridge to the center for some breathtaking views. This is definitely not for someone who has a fear of heights since you are looking down into a very deep gorge for sure!

Beautiful! Truly amazing place. We drove over the plateau from the gorge. There are many hiking trails and amazing views! The road is a little rough after the steel bridge. But, the views are worth it!

Great place to stop on the way to somewhere, have a picnic, enjoy the view, walk around a bit.
There's a clean restroom and the picnic tables are under a roof that provides enough shade/protection from rain.

Spectacular vistas. Well maintained rest area with clean bathrooms. Local artisans and vendors exhibit along the circular drive and have excellent prices on jewelry, textiles, and artwork. Fossils and minerals. Several shaded seating areas and well marked trail with safety fence along part of gorge edges. It's really a special place with amazing 360 views.

So gorge! Such a beautiful and eerie rift valley 20 minutes NW on the outskirts of Toas. If you love geological features and heights, this is a spectacular view. You can drive over the bridge or stop, park, and walk along the bridge. Vendors are at the rest area across the bridge. Must see place in northern New Mexico.

I only got to stop briefly at the Gorge before nightfall, but the view is spectacular. I loved the easy walking trail that allows access to more of the canyon than a view from the bridge. Wish I had spent more time there!

Magnificent views from the bridge! If you are afraid of heights, beware! The railings are not too high and your legs will start shaking 🫨
There is a parking area where you can take photos of the bridge which you cannot do when walking on it.

Nice and quiet area for a walk and some sightseeing. Several vendors in the rest area with interesting jewelry, carvings and other items. The bridge is impressive from afar and crossing it is cool, if you’re no afraid of heights! There’s a point while crossing it where you might feel a bit overwhelmed by the height. The feeling is heightened by the cars passing by. Still a cool experience!

Great views from the lookout points along the bridge. It's about 1/4 mile walk from the unimproved parking area where there's an historical marker. Interestingly, there are Crisis Helpline call boxes at the lookout points. Sadly, jumping from the bridge must be common.

Great attraction which is a short drive from Taos. The views are breathtaking. Make sure to see the gorge from both sides of the bridge. The views are spectacular. It was super windy and that can make certain people feel nervous. There is a parking area before you get to the bridge. It is depressing to see suicide call numbers but seems like a good service.

Well worth the drive for this amazing beauty. The views are insane and only made better by the picturesque New Mexico sky. Park at the rest stop and walk across for unparalleled photo ops.

Beautiful place to explore! Wear sunscreen, the sun is usually pretty strong here. The bridge walk is narrow, but worth the steps for the view in the middle.
Luke Southern — Google review
Gorgeous view but be careful walking out onto bridge. It’s not 100% pedestrian friendly. The sidewalk is not wide. Be aware that large vehicles will make the bridge bounce.
Jackie Frosch — Google review
Great side attraction that is free and worth the short drive out of Taos. The views are amazing and there was plenty of parking at the rest stop just west of the bridge.
I only had two minor complaints about the experience. The restrooms were closed, probably due to the season. Also, there didn't seem to be any established route to get onto the bridge from the rest area. You basically had to walk a "deer trail" and hop over a guardrail to get onto the bridge.
Ryan Snyder — Google review
Just a short drive from Taos is this beautiful and spectacular bright and rest area. I didn't know about this place, but it kept popping up on my phone. It was an area where you can walk along the rails. On our visit, vendors were set along the rest area. The bathrooms were clean. It's an awesome site to see and it's free.

Venturing from Austin, Texas to Taos, we made sure not to miss the awe-inspiring bridge with breathtaking views of the Rio Grande River. The drive was absolutely worth it, offering a tranquil escape with the added joy of watching people stroll along both sides of the bridge.
Former location of an Indian village, Spanish mission, Civil War battlefield & Greer Garson's ranch.
Arriving into the town where the park was at, there was two options. The historical park and the state park. I wasn't sure which one to go to, so we chose to go with the higher rated location. Arriving at the historical park, it looked small and not much other then the gift shop. It has a little museum in it with some great Native American artifacts. We decided to try the trail and found that the Pueblo was not only real but accessible. It was an incredible site and experience something that's been up for such a long time. Beautiful environment and so very thankful we decided to go this amazing place.

Enjoyed our visit to Pecos National Historical Place. The visitors center provided an excellent introduction through a series of thoughtful exhibits. Appreciated that many exhibits had items to touch and feel that would engage children in the content. There is also a short orientation film. From the visitors center there is a self guided trail of about 1 1/4 miles through the ancestral sites It's done in packed gravel. There's a slight elevation gain of 80 feet. For those who find that too much you can drive up to a second parking lot by the church and explore that area.

The only word that really comes to mind is wow. A history lesson on top of live ruins and absolutely gorgeous landscape all around. 1.25 mi hike, which was very easy. Our entire party had on hiking boots but they really are not required (although they do come in handy if you don't want to stain your regular walking shoes with red clay). The weather was perfect on the day we visited. There is no charge to enter, although I highly recommend the $2.00 booklet which takes you through the 15 or so stations giving the history of the area. The remains of the Pueblo style Pecos church were quite gorgeous. You can spend about an hour and a half here pretty easily taking it all in. This was sort of an afterthought, discovered when we were driving from Carlsbad to Santa Fe. Honestly, I think we would have missed out on either the second or third coolest thing that we did the entire trip had we not discovered this place. This is not a gigantic National Park so it will not consume half of the day or more. But you will be thankful that you decided to stop and take in the beauty. My 9-year-old was able to get a junior ranger patch here. All of the park rangers are very friendly, and this is definitely a hidden gem of a National Park.

What a wonderful place to commune with nature while honoring the history & culture of the area's indigenous People! Such a well preserved park, along with it's ruins, native foliage & wildlife...
The views along the trails were absolutely breath-taking. Highly recommend this park for history buffs, nature lovers, future conservationists & the those who gravitate to spiritual or shamanistic places to connect with the Past while appreciating one's Present.
Noted: Though the Park continues to upkeep the grounds & it's ruins, I'd like to see the local gov't office provide their grounds keepers a suitable place to stow away the materials necessary to maintain it-- out of plain sight-- so the trails & the views it holds remain the focus of one's experience. ^=^
Don't forget to stop by the visitor center & gift shop for your memorabilia! They offer tours & historical movie shows to learn more about this little gem just outside of the Pecos National Park.

This is a very cool park. If you can join a ranger walk I’d highly recommend it. The movie and museum were both very well done. The trails are easy but somewhat challenging with a stroller or wheelchair due to the rock and inclined. There is RV parking for about 4 rigs although I’m not sure if you would be able to access the further picnic area. The staff is very friendly

Taos Pueblo, an ancient settlement belonging to the Taos-speaking Puebloan tribe, is located about a mile north of modern-day Taos, New Mexico. It is considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in America and features twin five-story adobe complexes situated on either side of Rio Pueblo de Taos against the stunning Sangre de Cristo mountains. These buildings are believed to have been completed by 1450 AD and serve as a prime example of ancient Pueblo architecture.

Absolutely stunning pottery and very welcoming people. We were shown around and learned about the artists specific process in creating these delightful pieces. We got the cutest cups there and cannot wait to use them. Highly recommended!

We’ve visited JoAnne and Kevin’s gallery twice so far and the selection is simply amazing. They are true artists who have mastered their craft, and the colors imparted to the pottery from their wood fired kiln are really beautiful. The pottery that’s available ranges from artistic to functional, all very high quality, and most importantly they are so helpful in explaining the different aspects and features of whatever you’re interested in. Initially, we just happened to be driving by and saw their sign, then decided to make a u-turn and go back, and it was such a fun experience. Definitely a highlight of our day!

This place is INCREDIBLE. A must stop on your way to Taos. It was so cool getting a tour of the process and getting to see how much work goes into each piece. I could have stayed in the gallery for hours. Also I am obsessed with my new mug!
Kelsie McGuire — Google review
Such beautiful pottery made by the kindest and most talented artists! The pieces created by Kevin and Jo each have a unique story and I am always in awe of the gallery space each time I visit. Very excited about my new pieces and can’t wait to return!

I had the pleasure to meet Joanne and Kevin, two very special artisans. They took the time to share their craft and part of their story. The pottery they each produce is beautiful and different. Everything fired with wood in an oven Kevin built. The ash and heat produces the most beautiful pieces. They have such a wide variety from coffee cups to large vessels. I bought several pieces. I plan to buy more in the future. I am so grateful to include Kevin and Joanne in my life.

Saw this spot as we were driving through and decided to stop. Denise gave us a lovely tour of the shop and taught us some about their process! Everything seems to be crafted with a lot of care and intention. I’d definitely recommend stopping by!

We came across Enchanted Circle Pottery during a road trip and it is an absolute must visit destination if you’re in the area! JoAnne and Kevin were so welcoming and it was amazing to be able to tour their studio and learn about their process. Their work is absolutely beautiful. True pieces of art. And I fell in love with the beautiful features of the wood firing process. We bought several beautiful pieces that we will treasure forever and will definitely return whenever we’re in the area!

Real treat meeting Kevin at enchanted circle pottery. He gave us a nice tour of his shop, kiln room and gallery. Kevin is a talented potter making well crafted, functional wares. The light weight pots were a surprise for wood fired pots. Definitely worth a visit and don’t forget to take home a beautiful piece!

What an incredible experience. Denise walked us through the entire process. We toured their working studio and learned about their wood fire kiln. The gallery is warm and inviting. The pieces are carved beautifully and the colors created by the wood fire are gorgeous! Definitely worth the stop!!

Beautiful studio, owned and operated by super friendly and lovely artists. I am so glad we stopped by to take a look at their studio, gallery and kiln. Thank you Kevin and JoAnne for sharing a little bit of your great love for art and ceramics knowledge with us.

Beautiful pottery. I’m in love with what I purchased here (plates and bowls). They look gorgeous in my home and are magic to eat from. Owners are lovely. Worth the drive outside of town if you are visiting Taos.

An absolute treat - art, a great view, and wonderful people! The folks at Enchanted Circle Pottery were so nice, and they had so many wonderful creations. They even gave us a behind the scenes tour! The colors in their pottery are purely from the fire. No dyes or oxides! Their meticulous firing process creates the rich array of colors. Every piece was truly unique. Each mug was even a slightly different shape, so you could find one that fits your hand perfectly. Along with amazing art pieces, there were inventive practical pieces like mug warmers, cup lids, and silverware display vases. We came home with several pieces and wonderful memories.

Lovely visit to Enchanted Circle! Beautiful location and pottery. The owners, Kevin and Jo, are so friendly and showed us their kiln and process of how the pieces are made. Tough decisions--so many beautiful items from very large to small--something for everyone! We love our soup mugs and ice cream bowls!!!

We visited several places in Taos and Santa Fe but Enchanted Circle Pottery was the highlight. Kevin gave a quick tour of their Japanese-style wood firing technique (what a lot of work!). The pottery included both functional and beautiful works of art. We came home with several pieces, a great coffee mug, a vase, and a sculptural piece to grace our living room. I'm sure we'll be back.

We stopped by on our drive home from Taos and were so surprised to get a tour of this amazing studio. The wood fire kiln is massive and the ash glazing technique creates such beautiful and unique colors on the pieces. We got a beautiful set of bowls. Great stop!

Day trip around the Enchanted Circle Loop had us stopping at the Enchanted Circle Pottery Studio. What a treat to see their 22 years of invested time building their home, studio, wood burning Kiln, and a place to see great art being made. As an old Potter from the late 60s, it made my knowledge seem very small at best.
Kevin, if you read these reviews, one of my other five lives was 8 years of boat racing termining in Blown Fuel Jet Drag Boats...sending you a photo to prove it was me.

Friends of ours recommended we stop by Enchanted Circle Pottery on our way back to Colorado Springs. We're so glad we did! Artists Kevin and Jo were delightful! They gave us a fascinating tour of their huge "train engine" kiln and their beautiful studio. We bought several pieces, and plan to return soon! Great functional art, as well as exquisite display pieces. Their unique wood-fired clear glazing process produces one-of-a-kind natural finishes. Well worth stopping in!

My husband and I set off on a scenic drive when we happened upon Enchanted Circle Pottery. Kevin greeted us like we were old friends and graciously showed us around while explaining how they came to be and the unique process they use to achieve the beautiful finish on their pieces. We selected a few pieces to take home, but this unique olive oil bottle is my favorite. It is gently “squished” in the middle to fit in your hand. Thank you so much Kevin and Joanne!
Clear blue pool of water, with underwater caves & a 17° temperature, popular with swimmers & divers.
Amazing place! Fall in love at first sight. Water is cold and blue. Good for swimming and jumping! LOVE THIS PLACE!

My girlfriend and I stopped by here on a Grand Canyon Road trip in July. This place was a highlight of the trip.
It was only $10 for a parking pass. The parking was right next to the hole itself. They have lifeguards on duty. There are picnic areas, bathrooms, and a gift store.
The water looks amazing. I'm now planning on seeing blue holes anywhere I travel. It was also great that you can swim in it or even dive into it from the natural rock.
We jumped in a couple times (cold water) and had a picnic there. We saw some scuba divers show up to go down it too.
It's really spectacular to see and swimming in it was amazing.

Beautiful park and rest area, sadly we didn't get to see the lake. Closed off because of COVID but it had lovely cliffs and trails, and some that could even accommodate our disabled family members!

Spent the night in Santa Fe and decided to check out a couple of places listed on Atlas Obscura. One was the railroad bridge across the Pecos River. I asked about it at convenience store and they knew nothing about it. I told them it was listed as the tallest bridge in the area, and they still had no idea. The bridge was right across the street. "The tallest bridge in the area" was listed as such in 1930!
Blue Hole was a nice stop... For scuba people.
This hole is 80' deep and tidy-bowl blue. Couple of year old puppies were running around getting petted by anyone standing still.
Nice setup even if you're just swimming.

Very cool little place. We went mid day so there were lots of people there, but it was still cool to see and to feel the water. There is a $10 fee you pay which you get inside the building. It gives you day access to the Blue Hole, and to the swimming area up the road a little ways.

Really beautiful place, really close to the highway. It’s amazing how this places has managed to captivate our attention while we were on our trip to Texas. It’s really deep and super cold, but the feeling you get when you first jump is all worth it. The two diving spots are perfectly safe and integrated into the landscape which adds to the feeling of this hole being part of an endless cave.

Place is beautiful and amazing. The water is cold, clear, and deep. Area is nicely maintained and open to the public. Water is from underground spring and is the same temperature year round. I went in January on a cold day and found people swimming. On some days you will find people getting certified for scuba. A true oasis with nice friendly people. Highly recommend.

Last time I was here in August of 2019 and it was great!
These pictures are from around December 28th 2021 when no one was here but it was still beautiful and a treat to walk around, didn't jump in but was still tempting as the water temperature wasn't actually that bad! I dipped a foot in haha
Edit: came back here like week 6-7-22
Always a refreshing dip! Just passing through and had to jump off the edge :D

I sure this is a wonderful place but unfortunately we wasn't able to find out. We pulled into the parking area by the small lake to let our dogs out after a long drive pulling a travel trailer. Two guys statered to yell at us telling us to go down to the "Blue Hole" and said we could camp there. When we pulled down into a spot there, an older Chevy Suburban drove onto the grass next to us and started to yell at us for parking there. He said he was the Mayor and he was calling the police. We left just as two police units pulled in. From the time we pulled in till we left (about an hour in all) we were not wlcome. This town needs to think about thier Mayor.

We stayed in Santa Rosa and went to the blue hole at 8am and jumped in! The website says they are open 7am-7pm but we didn’t see any employees, just one group putting their feet in the water.
It was amazing experience! So refreshing! A perfect thing to do to wake you up and prepare you for the drive ahead!
*Note: the hole is kinda tucked away behind the dive shop so don’t confuse the 2 lakes out front for it. Look on google maps at your location to make sure you’re in the right place.

What a surprise! Get off the interstate and enjoy this beautiful spot!
The Cadillac Ranch is a quirky public art installation located in Amarillo, Texas. The installation consists of ten vintage Cadillacs buried nose-first in the ground, and is a tribute to Route 66. Over the years, the cars have been decorated by visitors with graffiti, making them an interesting and colorful addition to the cityscape.
I have passed by the Cadillac Ranch installation for many years on my trips in/out of Texas. I finally decided to make a stop to check it out. This is such a cool idea, and quite a sight to see. Best of all its totally FREE!
Built in 1974, 10 Cadillacs were buried ½ deep on the property of a local Amarillo Millionaire. People traveled from all over the world to see these Caddies, and many started to deface them for souvenirs, while others put graffiti on them in order to leave their marks. Eventually, the creators encouraged the graffiti as a way to let others express themselves and have fun doing it.
Today, only the frames of the Caddies are left, and there are decades of spray paint on the cars. It’s exciting to walk down the row of cars and see the artwork of others passing by. People from all over bring their own spray paint and leave it behind in a pile of canisters on the ground when they are done. If you want to leave your mark on these Caddies but didn’t bring any spray paint with you, don’t worry, you should have no problem finding a can in the pile that were left behind. Depending on the day you visit, your artwork might only last minutes before someone comes behind you to cover it up with their own mark. Just make sure to snap some pics of your creation before you leave so you know, if anything, for just a little while it was there.
If you ever find yourself in Amarillo, Texas, I highly recommend you take 30-45 minutes on your travels to check out this unique work of art.
Recommended for everyone!

I didn't know what to expect, but this attraction is really neat! The views are stunning and the art is captivating. It feels a little like stone henge😂
I didn't realize that the art is participatory... But some spray paint from the guy ($7.50/can) and contribute to the installation!
A steady stream of visitors adds to the charm and mystique of the site.

Great experience! It's worth the stop. Paint recommendations, White for background if you want to paint on top with a brighter/ neon color. Kids loved it! Cool trailer on sight for merchandise and paint. Sometimes you find half sprayed cans of paint lying around, grab it up, and use it, It's Free!! No admission fee.

Had been wanting to visit this since we were in the area. It was interesting to see the vast amount of signatures and people from all over. There wasn't as many cars as I thought there would be. Very strong smell of spray paint since almost everyone had cans of spray paint. It was still fun to see this little piece of history/tourist attraction. Crazy to see how many layers of paint every car had.

It's definitely an eccentric spot.
I'd recommend checking it out only if you happen to be passing by on Route 66 or Route 44 near Amarillo.
They have Cadillac cars buried halfway into the ground, which you're welcome to paint on if you're interested. Keep in mind, the paint shop nearby can be quite pricey. It might be a good idea to bring your own paint from elsewhere or hope that previous visitors have left behind some leftover bottles of paint.

I’ve been here before but it’s always cool to stop by early to beat the crowds. I went early in the morning and I took my own spray can it’s cheaper and better if you do. It’s a memorable place to do some tagging and look at cars that have been painted by everyone. The gift shop was closed when I was leaving maybe next time I’ll get something. It’s a must to stop here.

Possibly one of the best Route 66 attractions on the Mother Road.
Beautiful place, loads of history. Great for anyone of all ages to come here.
There is also a gift shop that comes around in a truck pulling the trailer.
In conclusion, a great and historic Mother Road attraction in Texas.

What a weird and quirky art exhibit. I loved the layers and layers of spray paint. People had left spray paint cans so I got to add my own name. Fun. I also loved that there was no attempt to monetize it. Just pure art for people to enjoy. Worth a stop for sure.

If you're on a journey along the historic Route 66 and find yourself in the wide expanse of Texas, there's one stop you absolutely cannot miss – the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo. This iconic roadside attraction is more than just a collection of half-buried cars; it's a vibrant symbol of American ingenuity, creativity, and the enduring spirit of adventure.
As you approach the Cadillac Ranch, you can't help but feel a sense of excitement and curiosity. Ten vintage Cadillacs, dating from the late 1940s to the early 1960s, stand upright in a field, their colorful paint jobs and sleek lines contrasting with the endless Texas sky. It's a sight that's both surreal and mesmerizing, beckoning you to step closer and explore.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the Cadillac Ranch is its interactive nature. Visitors are not only allowed but encouraged to grab a can of spray paint and leave their mark on the cars. As a result, the Cadillacs are adorned with a kaleidoscope of colors, patterns, and messages, creating a constantly evolving work of art that reflects the creativity and individuality of each person who passes through.
But beyond the opportunity for artistic expression, the Cadillac Ranch holds a deeper significance as a cultural landmark. It's a nod to America's love affair with the automobile, a reminder of the open road and the freedom it represents. It's also a testament to the power of art to inspire, provoke, and bring people together, transcending boundaries of age, background, and nationality.
Visiting the Cadillac Ranch is more than just a pit stop on a road trip – it's an experience that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a wide-eyed adventurer, there's something undeniably magical about standing amidst those towering Cadillacs, surrounded by the vastness of the Texas plains.
The Cadillac Ranch is a must-see destination for anyone with a sense of curiosity and wonder. It's a celebration of Americana at its finest, a testament to the enduring allure of the open road and the creative spirit that drives us forward. So next time you find yourself cruising down Route 66, be sure to make a detour to the Cadillac Ranch – you won't regret it.

WORTH IT! If you're staying in Amarillo or just driving through i definitely recommend stopping here the gift shop is across the street and there's a little bit of a walk out to the cars you walking through a cornfield and there's lots of cans and trash on the ground and right by the cars. it's really cool to see all the layers of spray paint and it kind of looks like it's dripping down. definitely still a really cool stop 🚗

A fun experience although extremely busy! Souvenirs and spray cans available to purchase on site. Be quick to take a picture of your artwork as it'll be covered in the space of 5 minutes lol. Definitely choose a lighter coloured paint as it was way easier to see.

I was so looking forward to Cadillac ranch! It did not disappoint. There was a little merch truck on the property and I was able to buy a beanie thank goodness because the wind was out of this world. I brought my poodle along with me to photograph with the cars. This is an excellent roadside attraction. Bring a hat. And if you forget spray paint you can but it from the truck for $7.50. Very fun

This is a fun spot to visit and doesn't take much time out of your schedule. It's worth the stop to see the art on these vehicles. You can even get spray paint to make your own mark! Check the cans on the ground - some of them still have plenty of paint. PLEASE throw your can away though... So many cans laying around is just a disgusting representation of our country. We can do better! 💙

I love coming here! It is free to everyone. Which is one thing you don't see anymore! You are able to walk out too it. Make sure you bring a spray can of paint. It is very interesting how it has changed over the years!! I felt very safe doing this. Hopefully everyone that comes to enjoy it can put the spray cans in the trash! We love America! Thank you for having all of us!

It's really cool for sightseeing, but super muddy, to much standing water. You couldn't get close enough to the cars.
They should think about maybe building some sort of platform on one side to stand on. But super cool!

It is an amazing experience. We visited the place a few days ago, and we weren't able to purchase a spray paint from the caravan because it was too late already, but anyway we had a lot of fun.
I admire the person who created these structures. Go and visit it !

I have been here twice now over the last 5 years. It's a classic stop on route 66. It has been reworked since the last visit. The turnstile is gone and the road leading out has been improved. If you come here, don't leave your garbage behind. If you intend to not pick up after yourself, don't visit the site. This is private land and can be closed to the public at any time. Last year I read an article that it may be removed soon. So that's the point to my second visit. Got some new photos. Overall, it's a must see that I hope lives on for years to come, but it sounds as if it's mabey on borrowed time.

When I finally arrived here, my first thought was, “did I really drive all this way for cars sticking out of the ground?” I thought, surely there must be more than this. There was not. You park your car on the side of the road, get out and walk through a gate, then way down a dirt entryway are these cars in the ground. Granted, you can bring spray paint and paint to your hearts content, but I brought none. But man did I get some great shots! The clouds came out to play that day! I would say this is a one and done kind of attraction. Fun but no need to go back a second time. Glad I did it though!

If you're passing through this area, I'd highly recommend a quick stop here. The walk to the cars isn't that far from where you have to park. There was a person on site selling spray paint if you wanted to paint the cars yourself. All in all, you probably don't need more than 20-30 minutes here.

Such a quirky, unusual experience! I wish they would add to it. The parking area, the fence, is so cool! Vendor truck with spray paint and souvenirs sits at the gate. You can see for miles and it's windy.

This is a free, iconic visual of history in America. Cadillac Ranch is set back, off highway 40 and does not seem like a worthwhile effort. But, we took the time out to visit and were happy that we did. Classic Cadillacs set out, buried in the ground are a tribute to the vehicles and roads that made America. They are heavily painted allowing visitors to place themselves as part of that history. Spray paint cans are freely available. There is a small, affordable vendor on-site selling memorabilia. There is some walking involved on rutted dirt surface and only Porta potties for restrooms.
I highly recommend taking the hour or so to visit, it was worth the time.

First attempt to go see this place was on a whim at 9 at night. There were about 10 cars along road but there are no lights at night! We could see many flashlights in the distance, but decided to play it safe and waited til next morning. Huge surprise to 40 to 50 cars and tour busses! This was a follow in the foot steps my dad had visited so the experience was fabulous! Be prepared that if you paint, it will be painted over quick! Take pictures. It was amazing to see all the different types of people, young to older. Awsome place!

Cool place, but would recommend going when it is dry and sunny. I went the day after some rain, the whole thing was a muddy pit. Definitely a worthwhile icon of Amarillo, and would recommend to those who haven't gone. Just go when it is warm and sunny.

This was a cool little put stop off highway 40 / old66. They have 10 old caddillacs buried in the dirt, lined up for people to graffiti all over. There is a truck when you arrive selling spray paint so you can have your fun. The things people spray aren't really art, some have talent. The art is the layers and layers of paint built up, dripping or melting off that male up the real art. It would be nice to see what they look liked originally. The streets and walls around the highway are ulled with graffiti too. There are locks hanging on the gates front what people left behind, everything covered with color. There is nothing else around but dirt and those old cars.
Mar1 Lyn — Google review
You park along the side of the road, and it's hard to miss with all the spray paint cans, painted roads, and painted barricades. There was a truck there that was like a food truck but sold souvenirs, spray paint, and other odds and ends! The spray paint was somewhere around $6 a can, so it's pretty fair prices. I recommend fluorescent colors! Also wear old clothes because you will get paint on you!! They seem to pop the best.
Please throw your spray paint cans away!!! There's so many laying around the ground when trash cans are available in multiple places.
Tiffani Hawkinberry — Google review
Had to see this place on my route 66 road trip, and it was just as good as I thought it would be. They had a truck and trailer set up with a shop, and you could get paint, stickers, and post cards, among other things, all in one place! I didn't buy any paint, but someone leaving gave me their unused paint can, and I passed it on after I was done. All in all, I would go again.

Not as big as I thought it'd be but very cool spot! It was sad to see how much trash people have left behind. People were so nice to share the spray cans they brought with others around them.

This is such an iconic place to visit so I’m glad I went while I was in town. We got some cool pictures out of it but honestly it was pretty underwhelming. The cars were pretty far from the place you had to park and it’s crazy windy so the walk isn’t fun. There’s always extra half-empty cans of spray paint lying around so don’t feel the need to bring any of your own. The actual cars were cool but I wish there was some sort of plaque or bit of info given to make me feel like my trip was somewhat educational rather than me just walking out into a field in the middle of nowhere to see some cars sticking out of the ground.
Emma Gehring — Google review
Making our way across the country, Cadillac Ranch is an iconic stop! We were there on a cool, windy day, and there were lots of people walking around, taking photos and a few artists with their paint cans. One parks on a side road and it’s a long walk to the display. There’s a gate, and it’s possible to get a wheelchair thru, though the ground is uneven and a bit rough.
Tatiana Hoover — Google review
Surprisingly busy location! Plenty of parking along the road, but lots of people come here to see these caddies buried nose down. You can buy spray paint from a guy on site, contributing your own guerrilla art to the cars, the concrete barrier separating the site from the freeway, or even the road surface.
mossum — Google review
The cool thing about this is all the people painting the cars, the paint gets so thick that it slides off. The local artist collects the paint that slides off and makes art out of it. Some even make earrings that are very colorful and unique. The visitors center for Route 66 Amarillo has the earrings and can tell you the rest of the places where the art can be bought. This is a free spot to stop (unless you buy paint on site) and enjoy with the kids. The kids were laughing, running and having a great time. It was fun watching them.
Palo Duro Canyon State Park spans an impressive 60 miles of ravine that boasts towering 800-ft cliffs. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including hiking the numerous trails and taking in the musical "Texas" at the park's amphitheater. It is advisable to arrive early to beat the heat and bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and bug repellent as necessary.
Amassing Canyon to explore there is so much to see and many trails to hike but you have to go there early because it can get hot very quick also bring plenty of water and sunscreen and maybe some kind of bug repellent depending on the time of the year you are visiting.
At gift shop you can buy some snacks and food things but if you bring your own picnic there is plenty of nice and shaded areas to stop and refuel your body while enjoying the breathtaking views pretty much anywhere in the Canyon property.
I absolutely love my visit here and never gets old because you will always find a new view to take in!!!

Palo Duro Canyon, often referred to as the "Grand Canyon of Texas," is a spectacular natural wonder located in the Texas Panhandle, USA. It was formed by millions of years of erosion by the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River. It exposes colorful layers of rock, including red, orange, yellow, and lavender hues, making it visually stunning.
It is the second-largest canyon in the United States, stretching over 120 miles long, up to 20 miles wide, and reaching depths of around 800 feet. The canyon covers approximately 29,000 acres of land.
Palo Duro Canyon is not only a geological wonder but also a natural playground for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a wide range of recreational activities and stunning scenery for visitors to enjoy. It's a must-visit destination for those exploring the beauty of Texas.

The scenery is awesome!!! During spring break, I went during the week day so there was a sizable amount of guests (totally more fun with people around) yet not very crowded. And the temperature was not too high either. Many trails for all levels of hiker. I chose to hike but there are many more activities that can be done. Even drive on the road inside the state park only, you can still see beautiful landscape with red-orange hue canyon and clear blue sky. Definitely recommended!!!

Nice spaced out sites with water and electric with 2 dump stations, no shade really though. Campgrounds are way back in the park, very quiet and secluded. We stayed in the Juniper campground, site 105. Nice views and trails from campsites. Lots of nice trails to take but unfortunately when we were there it was well over 100 degrees so we didn't get to partake much in the hiking. The hiking we did do we started out early to beat the heat. Didn't use the bathhouses but they seemed to be okay, not very many showers and no AC or vents in the buildings though. Wish we could have explored more as it is a beautiful park. Maybe we will come back when it isn't so hot.

Fantastic canyon to visit! Located a short drive outside of Amarillo, Tx. Very scenic state park containing miles of hiking, biking, and equine trails. Take plenty of water if you visit during warmer times of the year. The canyon floor can easily get 110 to 120 degrees. The Lighthouse is the most recognized feature here and we'll worth the hike needed to get closer views.

Palo Duro Canyon is a nice trip we took. We were able to drive the vehicle far into the canyon and explore the area from there. It has many places to rest and eat. You can also see different wildlife.

Don't miss going here!! It's spectacular! I don't recommend going during summer months when it's brutally hot. Loads of hiking trails, wildlife, and biking areas. Wear boots and be snake aware. If you aren't hiking, it's an easy drive. Not much is out that way, so bring plenty of water and pack your lunch!
Also, the night views are amazing! Stars as far as you can see!

This is a place everyone should experience, it's very beautiful. This is our second trip here and each time we stay longer first was 4 days. This time was 7 days. The hiking is great they have from very easy to very hard. We always camp in the Mesquite camping area because of the views.

We love Palo Duro Canyon. The idea that we can drive down and camp inside the second largest canyon in the United States is amazing! The views are captivating and lots of wildlife is there. We saw many deer and heard coyotes. It was hunting season when we were there so many of the trails were closed but they look like great biking and hiking trails. The campground is great, water and electric only with a dump station on the way out. Leave your cell phone in the truck, there’s no service in the canyon. It’s very windy down there (and in the area as a whole) but it strangely adds to the relaxation factor. This was our second year and three nights wasn’t enough, we’ll come back for a week next time.

Palo Duro Canyon is the crown jewel among State Parks in Texas. In spite of it being remote and not near the major population centers of the state, it still had about 375,000 visitors in FY 2023. With more than 25 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian activities, along with abundant camping and day-use facilities, there is plenty of room to roam.
You will often find Palo Duro referred to as The Grand Canyon of Texas. I dislike such comparisons, because they can diminish during the comparison. Hey, at least you can drive into this canyon. The one in Arizona can’t make that claim.
Do be advised that they aren’t kidding about the heat. The canyon floor can and does hit 130F or more in summer. For that reason, winter is my favorite time of year to visit, with many days ranging from the 50s to 70s. If you come in summer, plan on sunblock, water bottles, and insect repellant to deter the notoriously large—and biting—flies.
The summer musical—Texas!—is a delight to see, even if it sometimes crosses the border with tropes and cliches. But that’s the whole point, so sit back and enjoy.
My only beef with the park is that, in spite of its massive size, there is a whole other section that has been made off-limits, with land being leased to private ranchers. This means that you won’t get to see Cathedral Peak, the crumbling ruins of the Kneeling Camel, and numerous slot canyons. Maybe someday the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will ease up on these restrictions.
Still, there is more than enough for out-of-town guests to enjoy. It seems that only those of us who live here fret about what we cannot do. But that’s probably because we call this our playground, and come here frequently enough to yearn for more.

One of the best parks I have ever been to right in my backyard! (figuratively) We had a good time, saw a lot of beautiful breathtaking views, the kids had fun with the junior ranger program and got their badge! We did a 10 mile hike, various trails, we suffered a little, I hadn’t realized my hiking boots had given their last the last hike I did( always check your gear!) so I had a few blisters there at the end, but definitely worth it. Two days is not enough to explore this beautiful park.

Wonderful place. You can drive to the bottom to camp or walk the trails. Second longest canyon in the U.S. after the Grand Canyon. Soils exposed along the canyon walls date back to 250 million years ago and expose the thin layer where prehistoric fossils have been found. Go see the video about the history of the area at the visitor center for a good understanding of what you are looking at when you walk or drive the canyon. I think it's worthy of a National Park designation.

We were taking a trip out west going through Amarillo, TX and weren’t sure if it was too far of a detour. If you ever wonder if you want to take the detour, do it! It was absolutely worth it and a great way to stretch your legs on a long trip. I hope to be back to get a chance to do more hiking on their trails.

I love this place, it's a different world down in the canyon. Some excellent hiking trails - the light house trail is a must. Bathroom are very nice. Incredible views of the canyon
Mark Rose — Google review
If you can go and are in the area. Go. It's an amazing hike on a well maintained trail. At the trail head the rangers are fantastic making sure that you don't go in unprepared. (144° on ground by noon.) So leave the puppers home for this one. Unless you get out there early.
This is not for the faint (ha get it?) Of heart. There are plenty of resting spots but the bulk (6mile round trip) of the trail is not covered with shade... reports of snakes. Heat sickness and exhaustion is real and will get you quicker than anything so bring water (at least 3L per person), hat, long sleeved light clothing if you need.
Enjoy and Be Safe!

A beautiful state park with lots and lots of trails. Almost no cellular connectivity in the canyon, which is great. Dump stations are a bit too tight for a big rig, but manageable. Overall, an absolutely amazing experience & I would highly recommend it.

This is a beautiful state park! The canyon is spectacular. I visited with my best friend this past summer and it was too hot to do any hiking, but we did get out and walk a little and take pictures. We also drove around the park to see the scenery. I definitely want to visit again sometime in the fall or early spring when the weather will be nicer to get out and hike. I also like that it is a dog friendly park - I hope to take my future dog here and hike.

Took a road trip to Palo Duro Canyon! The long weekend just so happened to coincide with the winter storm. I was able to catch the sunrise and be the second one on Lighthouse Trail. The windchill was no joke when I got up to the Lighthouse, but the view was breathtaking! I was able to get out and back within 4 hours. Plenty of people were camping as well despite the temperatures dropping, but it was definitely warmer within the canyon.

2/3 of the park was closed for hunting when we were here, so that left many trails closed. We were still able to hike for a good chunk of a day and the views are amazing here! Hiking was great. We were here in the off season so there were few people. The campground is nice and the shower/toilet room was clean and well kept. The camp host was pleasant and has the most wonderfully happy dog. We had a burger from the Trading Post and is was delicious.

Started at Palo Duro Canyon State Park, well worth the admission fee of only $8 per person. There are also campsites inside the park. This is the second largest deepest canyon in the United States. We then took a ride around the canyon on back roads. Beautiful sights to see

I love Palo Duro Canyon! It still awes me to be driving through flat plains & suddenly run up on a Big Crack in the earth which opens up to Spanish skirts with a stream running between them, the landscape dotted with juniper, hackberry trees, & wildflowers spring-fall. I like hiking the trails - there are a good variety of them, so you can choose how you want to hike that day. If you're there during the week when it's a little less busy, it's amazing how quiet it is (not nature, of course) -it soothes my soul. Be smart! Come prepared! Summertime, it's hot - know your trail & the temperature & bring enough water for your hike!

I stopped in Palo Duro Canyon State Park on a road trip from Arkansas to Arizona in the summer of 2023. I wasn't able to spend as much time there as I would have liked, and I'll definitely make a point to return.
Quite frankly I was floored by the beauty of the Canyon. I just saw the canyon, pretty much from the lookouts near the visitor center.
The visitor center had super friendly staff. I will say that trashcans seemed a little sparse for some reason.

Visited for 3 days.
Hiked the Lighthouse trail, the CCC ridge trail, the Rock Garden trail, and the Paseo Del Rio trail.
The Lighthouse trail is beautiful but more strenuous than expected. Take lots of water.
Very scenic and worth the trip.
The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge spans 59,020 acres and is home to bison, elk, longhorn cattle, wild turkey, and a thriving prairie dog community. Visitors can explore nature trails, go hunting or fishing, camp out in the wilderness or indulge in rock climbing. The visitor center features exhibits showcasing the diverse flora and fauna of the sanctuary. A giant glass window provides breathtaking views of rolling grasslands stretching as far as the eye can see.
Such a fantastic place to hike! This was my first time, and I spent a couple hours hiking the trails in Dog Hollow before driving to the prairie dog town, a couple of the lakes, and a mountain trail. Everything was just stunning, and the trails were well maintained and clearly marked. The bison are all over the place and just extraordinary to watch, and the longhorns were beautiful. If you’re looking to see prairie dogs, I actually saw a lot more near the Holy City (see the two black dots on map image) than at the official prairie dog town. They’re so ridiculously cute!

We headed out for a day of hiking in the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge. We expected it to be somewhat busy due to the timing during Fall Break but the trail we chose was not crowded and we were afforded peace and quite to enjoy the vast blue sky, the prairie, and the granite mountains that towered to both sides of us as we made our way through the canyon along the Narrows Trail.
I do not recommend this particular trail. It was not marked and was nothing but boulders and rocks and frustration. However, the first .25 of a mile is well worth it for the views alone. The Oklahoma horizon truly is beautiful in its own way. There are plenty of other trails to choose from.
We saw a lot of buffalo (don’t get too close!), cool lizards, evidence of elk, and longhorn cattle. If you haven’t been out there I highly recommend getting out for a day trip.

I absolutely love this place. I usually camp in the backcountry which is usually peaceful since they only give out a handful of permits and the best spots are fairly secluded. Bison wander freely here and I have woken up/returned to some pretty close to the campsite. The nearby military base does fly jets over the area as well as shoot artillery which can be noisy. Especially the jets. Still love it out here. Favorite trails have to be the Charon's Garden trail and the climb up Elk Mountain. The Bison Loop is also pretty nice.

Drive to the top of Scott mountain and see Texas to the south and the west. Great view.
Buffalo, long horn cattle and Elk roam free here so mind the posted speed.
Plenty of trails and camp sites and places to picnic....several small lakes to see as well.
Yes, in my pictures, those are tarantula's. They migrate through every year and its not uncommon to see several crossing the roads.
Enjoy your visit, its simply beautiful here.

Great blooms in summer. There are plenty of places to go for road trip ,hiking, photography, picnic and camping. Best time to go in summer is between 6-30- 7-30 am. It gets too hot after 10am. Also parking area gets full after 9am. Some sites have its own restroom just next to the parking area. Few places don’t have restrooms. Each section of the Wichita wildlife has its own unique scenic beauty. Restaurants are outside the wildlife area.

Nothing too bad to say about this place, besides being located in OKLAHOMA.

There are also a plethora of picnic tables and sites that you can bring your family to for a fun lunch. Even your pregnant wife.

Family vacation for Spring Break 2024 was spent in and around the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. This was a nice peaceful trip. We went on a few hikes and saw lots of animals. The trails are dog friendly. The bison viewing is excellent here!! We also saw wild turkeys, longhorns, prairie dogs, deer, and elk!! Even if you aren’t someone who hikes, you can still see all of the wildlife by driving through the area.

We absolutely love this. We have been camping and hiking here since 2001. We just returned home from a week at the Refuge and it never disappoints. You can make all your reservations online. Camp Doris is our favorite place to camp. We love hiking the Narrows, The 40 Ft Hole, Mt. Scott, the Longhorn trail (which is the backside of the Kite Trail system), as well as the Charon Gardens Wilderness area. We will go back year after year.

Nice to have a place to hike around here, and even better it's free! Start at the visitor center (no signs but take the first right when you enter the park.) Nice staff & exhibits. Then head out for buffalo & hikes! Some trails are not clearly marked or labeled so stay aware of where you are when hiking.

Y'all need to come see this! Bartholomew the Bison was a sweetheart (yes I named him). It was beautiful and quiet and oh so majestic! For a tranquil good time, go see Bartholomew and his buddies out there. So fun! The kids were terrified as Bartholomew got super close to our car... but he's a peaceful guy. Just stay in your car and be calm. Leave em be. The prairie dogs were scootin' about and were super cute to see. We will definitely come back!

This is a small refuge for a motorcycle ride, but it is a great one. The prairie dogs, wild longhorns, elk and bison are fun to see. The place smells so fresh and clean, it is wonderful. There is so many hiking trails and lakes to fish in. Mount Scott has the best views! Places like the Holy City are worth a drop by. Camp Doris is a good place to camp if you want to hike and get primitive. I will ride this place again.

This is a hidden gem of diversity in Ecoregions. For the avid hiker there are many trails, some rough and rugged, some available to those challenged with disabilities. Visit Mount Scott first, and get an overview of what you will encounter- then make a trip to the Visitor’s Center to enhance your knowledge. We recommend a photo shoot in the Parallel Forest and a burger in Meers. Tour the town & architecture of Medicine Park for more historical context. We enjoyed our stay at the Hummingbird House. You will see so much wildlife: Bison, Elk, Turkey and smaller critters too. Our family loves to visit the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge!

Absolutely AMAZING! So beautiful and quiet. We did a lot of hiking and saw plenty of buffalo. It's one particular one that hangs out at the Holy City and is a great spot for getting up close photos. Very serene and pretty. The plains, the prairie dogs, the business center etc were all fantastic. I went for my b'day. I've always wanted to see the buffalo in their natural habitat. We even hiked up a mountain and walked up on a full grown buffalo in the woods! What fun but extremely scary. The views are like anything I've ever saw. We drove up the mountain and it had the best views of Oklahoma. Will definitely return. Not to mention it's free. Beautiful park and friendly people in the visitor center. Only suggestion is to give out a real map of the park, not just hiking and camping locations. Hands down best trip ever. You won't regret it!!

Did a quick drive thru and made a couple quick stops. I saw bison patties. The entrance to Mt. Scott was closed off to cars Sunday March 17 2024. I don't know why. The park/ refuge is a beautiful piece of nature. It has lots of picnic table areas.

If you're looking for just a quick day trip to escape and get in nature this place is perfect. There's lots of hiking trails, a lake, wild buffalo and long horns and a cute little town, medicine park, to fill your day with. I would recommend picking a cooler day though as there's not a lot of shade or tree coverage, bring lots of water too.

A little pricey we stayed two night in may of 2022. Two adults and two kids in tree house 4. My children had fun but there was a lot of down time with nothing to do. It would have been night to have a splash pad here as well to keep busy. The people that work here or own it are okay not the best customer service but you can tell they love working with the animals and it really shows. We feed animals and walked the park 3/4 times in the two days we where here. When you thank about the amount it cost to care for the animals it make since for there pricing. Definitely an experience I appreciate my children getting to have. Very peaceful and quite.

This Safari zoo in Tuttle is a cute and fun lower budget place to check out in Oklahoma! My husband and I stayed the night in their #3 tree house, above the white tiger exhibit. It was a nice rustic treehouse that came with balcony, and even an outdoor fire pit and grill for those who bring their own propane tank.
Around 6pm we went to see the animals. We were glad we did because they were most active around that time. They have some cute and beautiful Safari animals. Since it's lower budget they don't have a lot to see but what they do have is nice.
We were there Friday evening. The zoo wasn't busy when we got there and when we were exploring it felt very private. The couple of staff members we saw were really friendly and gave us food to feed the monkeys and got the white tigers to get closer to us. That made the experience so much better.
Some parts of the park feel a little abandoned, but we still enjoyed our time there. They have some pretty cool areas to explore. They even have an outdoor dining area that has an upper patio with furniture, grills and a fire pit. It was pretty cool to see.
We feel like the park has a lot of potential and what they do have now is nice. It's a nice place to go to when you want to plan to get away from the busy modern day social media lifestyle. It's fun for kids and teens, especially if you get the VIP to be able to pet and hold some animals. Even couples who love animals, like us, would enjoy it there.

My daughter turned 16 last week and all she asked to do was go to a zoo because she loves animals. When we found Tiger Safari and saw that it wasn't too far, we booked 3 nights hoping it would be an incredible experience and it sure was! We were able to walk the zoo any time the gate was open and each time we saw something different! The animals are well taken care of and it's obvious that the staff cares deeply for each one. The owner is truly passionate about what he does and is a very nice guy with an incredible story. This is a definite MUST for anyone who enjoys spending time with animals!

My kids was on Fall break this week and we visited this beautiful and AMAZING Safari. This is DEFINITELY a great place for kids to learn educational things about these exotic animals, reptiles and big cats. We got lucky not many people was there. The VIP portion was a fun experience with kids getting to see the animals up close and handling a few 😊. Kim was AMAZING every animal she brought out had a name and was very alert! The kids ENJOYED recognizing animals from Madagascar Movie 😂. One of the Lemurs was actually named “King Julius” 😂 Kim also educated the kids on Tom the porcupine about “not shooting” quill the shock look on the kids faces was priceless haha. Overall they loved every staff member because they were polite from checking in, walking around to holding the animals . Elroy was definitely our favorite he has the biggest eyes and checked Kim pocket for more snack 😭 We will definitely try and visit once a year.

Since it was Saturday we had the option to join in with others at a big bonfire, however we decided to opt out and have our own little bonfire at the fire-pit in the treehouse. this zoo was quite the visit. our family did the VIP passes for $35 a person. there were around ten encounters in the lodge that we got to be a part of (snakes, rabbits, birds, lizards, and even lemurs that you get to touch and hold). however, there are also tickets for $15 a person to just skip the encounters and walk around the exhibits. we also got to feed monkeys and deer. the monkey pulled his own food on the rope (super cool)! the animals looked happy and cared for. it's really a beautiful zoo.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. I rented one of the large African Manors. The accommodations were absolutely incredible. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything that we needed. Meaning a lot of the stuff I brought was completely unnecessary. The atmosphere the nighttime view the sounds of the animals as the sun sets and it starts to cool off. The experience is just incredible. I brought my two adult children to spend the evening with me we cooked out on the patio Enjoyed the beautiful view from the fountain, lit pond and basically had a private roam of the park after the sunset I cannot recommend this experience enough to anybody. It would be an incredible place for a family reunion a great place for a first date night, you name it, and these animals are taken care of. You can tell that they are loved , I love this place so much that I want to come and volunteer out here whenever they need me. Spend the money spend and the time with your family. The experience of being so close to these animals is absolutely breathtaking. It has changed me forever and I would do it again in a heartbeat, and anybody who writes a negative review about this place just has a problem with their life in general, because this place is out standing. Thank you Bill and the lovely lady who gave us our tour as well as the other ladies in the office you have made our experience amazing!

This place has changed so much. We did the VIP because we happened to walk in 2minutes before it started and got to hold about 10 different animals including a baby kangaroo. Then we were given food to feed deer and monkeys. It was chilly outside but the animals were out and lively. The bathrooms were nice and I loved how healthy the animals looked. Not like arbuckle wilderness. You can tell they are loved and well cared for. They aren’t scared of people at all. It’s safe and fun. The snack places are closed since it’s the off season but I’m hoping to go back and try their treehouse overnight stay in may.

We brought our family for a little getaway and stayed in the African Manor Hut #3. Upon walking up you could tell that the grounds needed just a little bit of attention and care. The manor itself is beautiful. We were really excited to use the big jacuzzi tub to soak and relax before bed. But we couldn't. The water pressure was so bad it would have taken over an hour to fill. Also the water turned cold about 15 minutes into trying. Things were just dusty and dirty like the bare minimum had been done for cleaning. The stove didn't work at all. We were told Upon arriving that it may blow a breaker but we checked and that wasn't the case. It just didn't work. When we made coffee I went to use the creamer and noticed thankfully that it expired in 2022. I went thru the kitchen and threw away a lot of items that were expired that other people had left and just hadn't been checked at all. The bathroom toilet more than a few times had to be messed with so it would fill back up with Water. We were disappointed there was no bonfire after it said there would be on the website but we still had a fire pit on the porch and made our own smores. I know these are all sort of little minor things but when you pay $265 for such a cool accommodation it's just disappointing that some of these things are being neglected. BUT now here's the good! The animal safari part is COOL. You can walk the grounds freely until 10pm and hear the animals all night! It does look a little run down. But the animals are so sweet! We got to touch and hold some of them including the 12 foot python and the baby kangaroo. They give you food to feed the outer door animals So that was really fun as well. The lion jeep encounter they post about online is not even a thing anymore. The glass behind the jeep is so dirty and thick with slime there's no way you'd even see a lion behind it. Everyone there was super nice and you can tell they love those animals! I would definitely recommend staying once for the experience!

This was wonderful! We were looking for something fun on each leg of our drive from California to the east coast. This looked interesting and it is a real gem. The place has so much to see, and the animals were really interesting in us. They came right up to the fence, and I felt that this was really engaging. The kangaroos came right up to us, even with the babies! Tigers, lions, monkeys, lemurs, reptiles and more. If you have the opportunity to check this out, I think you’ll be impressed.
The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum honors the 168 people killed in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, as well as all those affected by the tragedy. The outdoor memorial features the Gates of Time and Field of Empty Chairs, while the museum offers a number of exhibits about the bombing.
Sad place to visit, but we wanted to pay our respects to those who were lost here. The grounds are beautiful considering what happened here, the reflecting pond relaxes your tension with gentle draining water sounds as you stroll around reading posted signs telling you what everything symbolizes. Didn't have a chance this time to visit the museum but I'm sure it's comforting to those who lived through this terrible event. Prayers to all.

To the guard on duty late 8.6.22, thank you for making us feel welcome and safe when we happened upon the memorial at 1030pm. We are from Texas and in town for just tonight. We drove by and got out to take a picture of the fence of tributes. You invited us into the memorial grounds and gave us wonderful information that made our visit more meaningful. My 8 yo daughter was completely captivated by the memorial and wanted to read every name on every chair and read into whom the victims might have been and their relations to each other.
This was an experience we will never forget. We will keep all of the victims and loved ones in our prayers always.

If you’re in Oklahoma City than you need to come to the memorial. This memorial does an incredible job of honoring the victims of the attack and the heroic first responders. Definitely prepare yourself mentally because it is quite a bit to take in at once if you’re not expecting it. I spent about three hours in total at the museum so give yourself enough time to see everything. The presentations and recorded interviews are absolutely incredible and are extremely informative and captivating. There’s a big section on the arrest and prosecution of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols which I easily could have spent more time looking at. Everything is so well put together and all the staff are extremely informative and will answer any questions you have. 10/10!

A beautiful memorial in the heart of Oklahoma City. This memorial plays an amazing role in keeping the memories of those lost, as well as those affected by the events, alive. It is so well thought out. Walk outside the memorial to find the chain link fence and spend some time reading notes to lost loved ones. Pay attention to the black painted brick on the museum which shows where windows were blown out and fresh brick in the building. These unique features all add to the magnitude of the true memorial area. I would say parking was ample, but for whatever reason...hard to find (more so know the cost and if it was public parking or not). Don't get me wrong, there is PLENTY of parking in the area. We did not tour the museum, but I wish we would've. We did enter the museum to see the gift shop and use the restroom. I'd rank this as a "must see" memorial.

Excellent tribute to the citizens of Oklahoma City bombing along with victims and survivors. Very well put together museum and many exhibits the outdoor memorial is beautiful and serene. The state park ranger, Dan was very informative and helpful. The museum and memorial was a beautiful tribute to the perseverance of the state. Price was very reasonable and has a gift shop. Ticket lady was very nice. A great visit for a self tour, very well laid out. Very nice and clean restrooms. Very accessible

Oh my! A solemn remembrance of a horrible event in recent history of the U.S. The creators of this museum were thoughtful and thorough with their interpretation of April 19, 1995. From "an ordinary day" until the present day, there are interviews, artifacts (large and small), pictures - anything you can imagine that describes the day, the weeks of search and rescue/recovery, the years of waiting for justice, what all mankind can learn from it- it's all there.
I especially liked how the outside memorial was planned; I believe it is an appropriate and meaningful way to remember those people who were killed.
May this memorial and museum continue to be a source of healing and understanding of the experience.

Everybody goes during the day and it's absolutely beautiful during the day. I have also been in the daytime and love it I go to the marathon and compete. I happen to be in downtown and wanted to see it at night. There is a security guard so you don't feel unsafe. He was a very nice man. To see this place at night with the chairs lit was a whole nother experience unto itself. It was so quiet and peaceful you could just hear the reflection pulled trickling. The remembrance wall with the saying in the times are lit. It was a good time to just go and not have a lot of people. Where you could reflect pray for those people and their family look at the memory wall and just have your moment.

June 6, 2017: I arrived about 1:00pm. No car or foot traffic at all. I was overwhelmed with the monument. I remember the day the bombing occurred, seeing half of the building gone. Being here gave me a different perspective especially reading the names of those who perished and seeing the remains of the bldg. The artist(s) who created this monument did a magnificent tribute. All the chairs, small and large, the reflecting pool, the remaining tree. It was breathtaking; it was peaceful. A must stop anytime you are even close. Pictures do not do it justice.

So beautiful! Love the survivor tree. Videos and pictures throughout the site. If you want to go through the museum you can but there is a charge for that. If you want to see just the area of the bombing, it is free. Make sure you see the statue of Jesus across the street also.

This museum was amazing and they do a great job of telling the story of the day of and the days following.
While the museum was extremely informative, the real star was the memorial itself. This was probably the most beautiful memorial I have been to in the U.S. Both the simplicity and complexity behind the meaning of it all is incredibly moving.
I don't want to write a novel about all the symbology, but definitely pick up a brochure and read for yourself!

My wife and I are taking a cross country road trip and spent an evening in Oklahoma City. While in town, we visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum. The museum is well done with many exhibits that teach about the horrible event, the people whose lives were taken, and the response of the people of Oklahoma City. While it is difficult to relive these sorrowful events, it is also good to be reminded that these events do not define nor destroy us.
There was a school group that was going through the museum at the time we visited. Truthfully, some of them didn't "get it" and were rather cavalier in their attitude. But some did understand the significance, and even for those who did not, it is good that the seeds of understanding are planted. Perhaps someday they may fully recognize the solemn day for what it was.
Following our visit to the museum, we went outside to see the memorial. Where the building once stood, a beautiful pool of reflection now exists, bordered by two large walls with times 9:01 and 9:03 inscribed. Those times represent the moments before and after the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Building. A field of empty chairs sit adjacent to the pool, representing those who were killed in the bombing. The memorial is a beautiful but somber reminder of the tragic day, but also of the strength and determination of the human spirit.
Greg Squyres — Google review
They do a great job with this difficult situation. The museum does a great job of showing the events from the time before the bomb all the way to the execution. It also tells the story of the heroes, survivors and victims. It was great to hear the stories but it is an emotional journey.
Chris Hurst — Google review
Still remember it like it was yesterday, as a senior in HS about to graduate. So sad and powerful to see the chairs, which represent approximately where the victims were in the building. Seeing all the small chairs of children that were in the daycare is heartbreaking. A well-done memorial that is ranger-patrolled for any questions or discussion about the event and venue.

My family started our OKC tourist day at the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial, which was a pretty somber experience. The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum was very well done, and really captured the anguish of that day in 1995.
The museum had numerous artifacts recovered from the rubble, as well as a shocking volume of items related to the investigation and subsequent execution of Tim McVeigh. The guy planned and executed the whole thing (almost) using a fake name. At bottom, if he hadn't screwed up and used his real name to order Chinese food from a hotel where he'd registered with his fake name, he'd likely have never been caught as there would have been no link to a real person. Good thing he wasn't as smart as he thought.
A particularly powerful part of the outdoor memorial was the empty seats - one large seat for every adult and one small seat for every child that died in the bombing. The number of small seats was heartbreaking. If you're ever in the area, this is a must see - just be prepared for an emotional experience.

Incredibly detailed account on that very tragic and unforgettable day in April 1995. I remember listening to the radio while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, on this fateful day. The visit to the memorial brought back so many memories. It goes beyond comprehension how much evil McVeigh and Nichols had to plan for the extermination of potentially far more than the 168 lives they took. Thank you to the precious staff of the memorial for doing such a blessed job at being so compassionate and empathetic to all those families that lost loved ones so prematurely not so many years ago.

Visiting the memorial is a visceral experience. We decided to buy museum tickets at 4:15, thinking it would be plenty of time to finish by 6 PM close. We were quite rushed toward the end. The video footage, interviews with survivors, and items on display that were collected both as evidence and as momentos from survivors and rescuers are incredible. Plan to spend another 30-60 minutes outside, walking around the reflecting pool and contemplating Survivor Tree. We also made the decision to return after dark to view the memorial lit up at night. It is serene and even more beautiful. Very safe to walk around, as well. Highly recommend.

The memorial was beautiful and the park rangers Dan and Cody were very helpful. I loved that the reflection pond was moving and made noise. I was not impressed with the museum though. The museum is "affiliated" with the National Parks Service but they don't take the NPS Annual Pass. The museum was very claustrophobic and there was no easy way to bail. I was locked in the "recording room" where they played a tape where the bomb exploded but then lights flashed and there was no warning and no way to get out. The rangers were great though so because this listing combines the memorial and the museum this is more about the museum.

The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is a very powerful and well done monument to the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing on April 19th, 1995.
In my opinion it is best to start in the museum, which features several videos, displays, witness testimonials, and even items and parts of the building that survived the explosion. I found the saddest part was the Gallery of Honor, which features photos of the victims with items that their families donated that speak to who they are as real people.
The outdoor memorial makes more sense after you've toured the museum because it puts the memorial into context. It is very beautiful but sad.
The staff are all very nice and helpful, both in the museum and at the memorial.

Very emotional. The museum is very graphic and it depicted the scenes very well. I was emotionally sick to my stomach reading everything and seeing so many lives cut short and families depleted. It is amazing how much the community and country rallied together to rebuild. The memorial outside waa peaceful and serene.

I had a friend who used to work in the building and was transferred out shortly before the attack happened. I always wanted to visit and finally got around to it this weekend. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Helpful hint: Visit on a Sunday and you can park in the post office lot right next to the site :)

This was amazing! It's a must see if you're in OKC and you have about 3 hrs to go through it. It was very emotional going through this memorial museum. There were some younger kids there with their parents that had a hard time going through it. You can't help but want to cry and yet be angry that it happened in the first place. Definitely worth the time and money. They do have a parking ramp to park in.

Today was my first experience at the OKCMM and it had to have been the most moving and powerful experience I've had at a museum. I arrived before they opened and used the time to walk around the site soaking in every piece of tribute and honor. The experience begins as any ordinary day, only to be met with explosions as the next door opens showing the destruction and recovery efforts. The heartstrings are in constant motion reading every piece of information and seeing the pictures as if you were on scene for the events.
A couple times I had to move to a corner and breathe as emotions were in constant engagement. While there are exhibits detailing the men behind the attacks, this experience is truly focused on those who died and those who risked their lives in the recovery effort. The love and unity of Oklahoma, United States, and world truly shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.
I highly recommend visiting this museum and to take your time going through the museum and grounds. This was my first time in OKC and I've experienced great museums and experiences, but this truly is a beacon of light and hope in the midst of tragedy. I will absolutely visit again anytime I am in the area.

I was privileged to be shown around by an exceptional park ranger, Dan McKee. He described the solace of the moments. The past, present and future of the site. The inspiration for the architecture and design of the memorial was breath taking. If you are in the area this is definitely worth a visit. The grounds themselves are amazing and Dan is a wealth of knowledge.

Highly recommended to visit - also there is an adjacent parking garage - get your parking validated for free parking, too.

Bricktown is a vibrant entertainment district in Oklahoma City, featuring refurbished warehouse spaces that house trendy restaurants, elegant wine bars, and stylish piano lounges. The area boasts of an assorted range of shops selling fashionable clothing, home decor items, and artisanal food products such as gourmet sauces and handmade chocolate. A popular attraction in Bricktown is the Water Taxi that offers tours along the picturesque Bricktown Canal.
Riverwind Casino is a vibrant hotel that offers various dining options and live entertainment alongside its gambling facilities. While guests may not be guaranteed their preferred room, they were generally satisfied with the amenities provided. The establishment has made efforts to improve guest experience by fixing issues such as broken TVs and weak coffee. Despite lacking in-room microwaves, the casino offers an excellent buffet for meals. Riverwind serves as a convenient stop for travelers on highways and is especially valuable during holidays when other dining options are limited.
Such a nice casino and friendly people here. They're going through some construction but it's well organized and clean. Plenty of fun slot machines to play. I ate at their restaurant Chips & Ales I think that's the name . The Chicken Pot pie was the best I've ever had. My server Chastity was so professional and friendly I thought she was a manager to my surprise she wasn't but most definitely belongs in a position like that in your casino. Keep up the awesome job! Last but not least I had an amazing day here on Monday. Made up for my last visit a month ago where they kept my money.😁

I had so much fun at Riverwind tonight! The first machine I put $20 into I hit for $150. My fiancé decided to try the machine next to me and he hit for around $140. Then after spending another $60 I hit for another $120 and my fiance hit for another $153! All in all we had a lot of fun. They have a huge selection of slots to choose from, and although the tables were pretty full we could have found one or two to play at should we have wanted to do that. I also liked how there was at least 1 place still open to eat at when we were done at around 130am ( Burger King). There are a lot of restrooms all around so you don't have to look far when ya gotta go. The ONLY thing I didn't like is that we had such a hard time trying to find even ONE cashier so we could get our change that we ended up just leaving it behind after a good 10 minutes of walking around and looking. But Other than that we had A-blast. We were also able to park pretty close to the entrance so all in all I would say this casino should be a definite go to if you are in the mood to play. Two thumbs up from me!

Super expensive unless you only want crab.
It was the worst buffet I've ever experienced.
They have a line undeserving long. That's probably why they don't care about ...anything there was weird prome rib that seemed like precooked boil in the bag meat. The pork was dryer than dry looking shreds. No chicken at all and soggy fish and chips. There were very few sides and a lame salad bar. And to finish it a lame desert bar. At least it was above pig slop. For $39.99 it was a waste of money for me And for a casino...shame on your greedy penny pinching managment.

That fact we were able to reserve my favorite room and it was available when we arrived was awesome. However she did inform us she could not promise us the room. New TV and some other things we notice from our last visit were fixed a+ Just wish they would decide putting in the microwave. Chips and Alyse is partly the reason they're not getting five stars and the coffee seems to be weak this go around. I will be back though.

I did the all you can eat buffet on Saturday, which includes snow crab legs. Everything was delicious I got there around 6pm it was about a hour wait, but it was worth it. I mainly ate crab legs, the fried shrimp was good as well as the catfish. I saved a little room for desert, which I chose the bread pudding with carmel and vanilla sauce, but they had alot of options for $45. I will definitely be back 😁. If you get the Riverwind card you save $6

Really did not spend much time in Casino on this cold and wet day. Grounds leading into side entrance was littered with trash. A Landscaping brick unglued. Receptionist at guest counter was helpful issuing a new card & verifying new address from Driver's license. All total played four different slots. The Wicked Wheel was fun & kept me in the game. Ate a steak sandwich from IHOP located in food court. Steak might have been lean beef but appeared to be ground hamburger meat. Riverwind is a nice place to go for entertainment and fun.

We stopped to eat since we were on the highway driving to spend time with the kids. It was on Christmas Day, so it was the only place to really have a meal other than burgers or hotdogs from gas stations m. The buffet was excellent!

We came here on a Saturday evening to grab some crab legs and spend some money. The line to the buffet was incredibly long. We waited 2+ hours in line, and we had to give up near the end, because it was near closing time. The Riverwind Casino Wild Card holder has a benefit of being placed close to the front of the line, so it pushed regular people back a lot. The place was filled with smoke, and I ended up leaving the place with my clothing reeks of cigarettes, and it ended up contaminating my car too. The place needs better air ventilation and filtration to deal with those smell.
One major kudos for this place is that their parking lot was well lit and organized. I felt safe walking and talking with my friend in the parking lot. It was also to find my party, because the parking was well labeled.

Went there with a group of friends last night. They are doing some remodeling but it doesn't appear to be affecting peoples fun. People seemed to be having a great time. They have a large selection of slot games. There are ATM's and bathrooms, a bar area in the center, a smoking area with card tables, roulette (table & electronic), and slots as well as a non-smoking play area. This was only my 3rd time in a Casino but it seemed great to me. There were employees constantly cleaning, waitresses walking by about every 15-20 minutes checking on people, and techs checking machines. The customer service lady was friendly, efficient, and professional all in one which was perfect! I would visit again.

Riverwind Casino offers ample winning opportunities, although the lack of a non-smoking section might be a concern for some. My experience included both victories and losses. The casino itself exudes an aged ambiance, yet hints at ongoing renovation efforts. However, the extent of modernization remains questionable. On-site dining options are available, albeit slightly pricier than typical establishments. Complimentary beverages like water and soda are offered near the entrance upon request.

Small local casino with an equally small hotel attached, in a cornfield next to a highway.
Typical casino, nothing special or horrible about it. You give them money and you leave. Small food court with major fast food chains, and one sit-down restaurant with decent and GENEROUS portions. The buffet is only open for limited days of the week, so I didn't try it.
The hotel side is also your normal hotel. They offer coffee and juice in the lobby, but that is about it besides a vending machine or two. They do not have a pool, or fitness center, but the business center has a PC and printer.
Parking is ample and the service was average. The room was nice with a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and TV. The view is either the cornfield or Mcdonald's and marshy area in the distance.
Now cleanliness is another thing. The refrigerator was visibly dirty, and the bottom two shelves were sticky to the point that I just left my items there when I left.
The shower curtain didn't reach the tub, so water soaked the floor every time I used it. The shower drain was "stuck", but with a little effort it, along with a ton of hair came right up!

I did not visit the casino floor or game. I attended Jo Koy stand up. He was funny. However the venue was essentially a ballroom with chairs set up as a theater. It seemed to be old fashion. The good news is that the venue is small enough to have a decent seat even if you end up in section 201 and above. One thing I disliked was the bar closing just before the main show started. That really sucks bcz I was parched the entire show. 😕 Next time I know to sneak water in. Lol.

There was a myriad of paintings, artifacts, displays of western gear, weapons, ropes, barbed wire and MANY bronze statues, including Remington's. We were impressed with the Prix de West art collection. And we’re not art connoisseurs. The kids loved Prosperity Junction which immersed us in another era. Definitely try the sarsaparilla at the saloon and learn about the cowboy job. Outside, tour the different types of indigenous Indian homes.

This site is great for family fun, a date night, school trip, or just a leisurely stroll. The Cowboy is easily our family's favorite outing this year. We've made a goal to go monthly. We see a new room we didn't know was there every time we go!

Very nice exhibits and interesting artifacts. I enjoyed the outside exhibits as well. We spent about 2 hours here and it kept my 14 year old’s attention. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable as well. They also have scavenger hunts and other activities for smaller children. Lots of good photo opportunities and appreciated the air conditioning inside since it was very hot outside. Nice gift shop on the way out too. Parking was simple and free.

We all had a great time here, our party included parents and a 16 yr old as well as a 4 year old. This museum is massive and you could spend hours inside and then even more outside. The collections of art, memorabilia, antiques, replicas, etc are just enthralling to go through. There is no shortage of items to look and learn about in this massive museum. The old west replica town is so immersive, you feel like you are in a western. It is so well put together and several buildings you can actually go in and take really cute photos. I agree that the native American side of western history is severely lacking here - but the title does have COWBOY most prominent and that is what you will find here. Tons of cowboy history. From the wild west to the movies to the rodeo and beyond. I really wasn't expecting the massive structures outside of the museum but it is truly a sight to see. I recommend allotting plenty of outside time, especially if you are there with younger children. There is a playground, interactive areas and lots of immersive play opportunities. The people that complain about this museum must just hate life. My only complaint I have from our visit was that my four year old wanted to rush us through everything and I felt jipped on my experience there! I guess I will just have to go back!!

The Cowboy Museum, as it's locally known, has made some big changes over the last couple years, and they are all for the better. The best part right now is an expanded outdoor space that honors many Native American tribes in the Oklahoma area and their stories. Liichokoshkomo' showcases a Chickasaw Council House, Hopi Pueblo homes and much more! Kids can also choose an animal guide to find drawing prompts, codes words, the sounds of the Old West and how many cowboy hats are in certain exhibits. If you haven't been to the Cowboy Museum in awhile, you definitely need to check it out! There's so many new things to see!

Excellent! So much to see here so plan to be here for a few hours. The right side has a bit more things to see and read than the left I think personally. Don't forget to go outside! I will be back because I know I missed some things and what an awesome National Cowboy Museum.
The bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendly and ready to give important facts about wherever you were in the museum.
Plenty of parking. They have a small cafe. Didn't eat food so cannot give an opinion. Ticket prices were good, they did offer us a disabled vet discount so that was nice.
Go check this museum out!

Truly incredible museum with an incredible amount of history, exhibits, statuary, examples of weaponry, clothing, household and old west town every day life, Indian life, military, rodeos, art, etc... This has to be one of our top museums we've seen in America!

Fantastic museum - very detailed. Budget 3 hours for your visit to see everything.
Lots of great western artifacts.. some exterior western exhibits geared toward kids.. and the short film about the history of Hollywood western films is highly recommended..!

Enjoyed our family visit to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage museum. There is something for everyone here. I was impressed with the Art and sculpture. Others in my party enjoyed the movie and rodeo memorabilia. We spent 4 entertaining hours.
I was impressed by helpful volunteer docents who gave us an excellent overview at the start and helped us learn more in the exhibits.

This was a great museum! It covered a lot of history. There were multiple videos to watch. It has a lot of artwork and sculptures to look at. It's bigger than it looks. It took us a couple hours but could have taken longer if we would have stopped to read everything.
Beaches & a natural swimming hole with waterfalls plus a rock castle, caves & geological formations.
I really enjoyed my visit here. A nice waterfall, and lots of areas to hike and explore. They had an interesting cave and castle to explore as well as a general store for souvenirs and snacks. It wasn't too crowded just enough people to feel comfortable. Nice to see Muslims touring as well, very multicultural place with the assortment of visitors.

Great place to enjoy nature hike/trip with the family. We went during spring (so not much crowd) & water was still cold then so we never tried swimming yet. We’ll surely come back during summer. Aside from the 2falls, there’s a swimming area& an old castle you’ll encounter there.
No pets allowed & lots of parking space. Theres a fee to enter. Their brochure/map is not as clear & could use some color to tell the legends. Otherwise seems like also a nice place to camp. There are also some cabins to rent.

Beautiful!!!! I found This place very beautiful to visit. The water was clear and clean. Perfect place for hiking lovers, it has a playground for kids, cabins and campgrounds. There is a little store where you can buy snacks and drinks. Definitely I have to come back and stay longer. We did a one day trip but will Stay longer. The view when you go up the hill is stunning and breathtaking.

This was just perfectly beautiful. The new cabins that they are adding in look super awesome. We just went for the day, hiked a bit, swam and enjoyed the scenery. Only down side, the staff when entering , we’re not very friendly or informative and some staff were smoking cigarettes while interacting with guest and I thought that to be unprofessional. Regardless, it was stunning and WE ARE coming back!

Such an incredible experience. We did not stay overnight, but went in the middle of the week and it was much better than our expectations. Clean, everyone we met was extremely friendly, it was a gorgeous atmosphere, and the park rangers were very friendly/helpful. We will surely be back!
If you are wanting to experience the falls and the water, you do not have to hike at all. It is all paved and very accessible, but I can't wait to go back and actually hike!
Jonathan Hawkins — Google review
We were passing through and didn't know much about the area. We quickly realized it waa way too pricey for a quick stop and walk-through. It would have cost our group of 5 almost 60 dollars. We drove past the entrance for a quick (and free) peek on an overlook, then carried on with our trip. It was pretty, but nothing spectacular.

Great walk in this beautiful nature reserve. The weather perfect, and we saw several deer. Reasonable entry fee for off-season mid-week. Disappointingly, no cafes open (just a general store with a friendly lady - we visited twice!), so we had to leave the park for lunch in Davis.

Drop dead gorgeous area to explore! We went when it was a little cooler out which is for sure the perfect time to go. The castles are very cool to explore although it's a bit of a vertical hike. There's a cave you can explore above and to the right of the waterfall where the swimming hole is.... And TONS of wildlife

It is a great place to beat the summer heat and get kids out in nature. It looks like they are using the admission fees to improve and keep the facilities nice. Be aware that any child under 13 must wear a life vest, so bring one otherwise you can buy one at the gift shop. The weekend will be very busy so if you can take a day off during the week that’s your best chance of fewer people.
T Z — Google review
I have been going here for 30 years, many times as a child, a few times in college and just once in the last 15 years...and let me tell you, things have changed.... for the worse.
Seems the owners are more interested in expansion of campsites/cabins so they can get more $$$ than they are in keeping the park clean and affordable. (almost $200 a night for a family of 4 to camp, in a tent, with no electricity on the weekend in summer)
The falls are still beautiful, but you can't go anywhere near them anymore (probably one idiot screwed it up for everyone), the water is still cold, but oily on top and a bit scummy, and the dang trash is unbelievable! We picked up 3 grocery sacks of trash on the trails just near the falls. There are trash cans everywhere, that's not the issue, just a bunch of jackholes littering! For the cost of admission they should have better sanitation clean u or fine litterers!
They now charge for parking in addition to admission and lodging, but only on the weekends. This makes me not want to stay during the weekends.
We did not camp this time, but have many times before and you definitely want to get in on a Thursday or early Friday to get a good spot for the weekend. They have a ton of spots, but many are soooo far up on the newish, isolated, third level, and it is far away form the creek. Also pretty much all spots are very Rocky.
All in all its a great natural beauty, one of the best in Oklahoma for sure, but the owners seem to only want to get more people in the park, not preserve it's beauty!

I’ve been to Turner Falls 3 times so far: twice with my girlfriend for a day trip and once with my friends on a 2 night camping trip. We’ve always had a great time. Whether it’s the perfectly cold and refreshing water, peaceful hikes, caves you can walk into, surprising castles, or the amazing snow cones at the Sweet tooth snow cone truck, there is always something good that can happen at Turner Falls. Beware of lots of daddy long legs spiders in the caves and castles though. Most recently when I went camping the camp sites were all really nice; the main issue we ran into was the extreme heat which is definitely on us, as we decided to go at the beginning of August. Even with the uncomfortable temperature, the cold water was so perfect that we wanted to stay in the water the whole day. It was also really busy, but they did a great job of organizing everything. We had to take a shuttle from nearby our campsite to the main area, but they came repeatedly so it was never too much of an issue. If you go during a week day or not during the summer, it really shouldn’t be too busy, and if it’s a weekday, you shouldn’t have to take the shuttles I don’t think. Hope y’all all have a great time if you decide to end up going there!

I expected this place to be more of a "natural" environment. It's kind of like an amusement park, with signs everywhere about what you can and can't do. The water was too shallow for swimming and we couldn't get near the waterfalls. There were buoys surrounding it with signs to stay away. It was not crowded when we went so it was nice and quiet when we hiked around but I imagine it wouldn't be as nice if there were a lot of people. We did go in Sept., on a hot day. It would've been nice if the little store on site was open.

I did not stay at the park but I must warn others it costs 15 bucks per person just to drive up and see the falls.
The falls themselves are gorgeous, very clean both the water and the area. The staff does a good job taking care of this place. Worth a stop of your in central Oklahoma

A hidden gem in south central Oklahoma that you do not want to overlook. Easy access to the city and the metroplex too. Cabins were clean and comfortable. We went for a concert and the location made for a memorable experience. Definitely going back. Oh and if the City of Davis’ food truck is there give that a try too.

There is so much potential!! But I agree with the lower rating reviews, during the peak of the season it is overcrowded, trash is everywhere, bathrooms are disgusting, and they seem understaffed for the amount of people they let into the park. There is no peace and quiet with all the tourists and music.
I want to check it out during the off-season but I feel like prices are pretty steep for admission, some great hiking trails surrounded by lots of nature but you have to hike a few miles before you can enjoy the quiet away from the campers.
My kiddos enjoyed adventuring the cave the most. As stated in other reviews it is a long trek to and from the swimming hole, not ideal for young children and the shuttle wait is outrageous.

This place is so beautiful! I enjoyed it all: from climbing in a cave to hiking and taking in the glorious views of the river, hills, and waterfall. On a warmer day, playing in the river would have been a great option, too. I'm sure I will return sometime and rent one of the many cabins, or maybe camp. I definitely recommend visiting, and not just for a few hours! 😀

We took a day trip here from Fort Worth. Purchased tickets online, arrived at 10 am on a Friday and it was a wonderful time. Parking was easy. We parked and walked to the 77ft falls where we swam. June the water was cold but so nice. We picnicked then hiked up to see the castles and then continued to the trail to see the falls from above. We spent just shy of 4 hours there with our 5 year old and our 22 year old and both loved it.
The only two negatives were the attendant at the ticket window was a young girl who has zero customer service skills. Also, the trail wasn’t well marked indicating how to get to the top of the mountain.
Wendy Beliveau — Google review
The views and the park itself was wonderful, and the staff was very nice. If you get there early enough during the week, you can find great primitive camping sites right on the water.
I’m giving a low review though because of how overcrowded and terrible the camping neighbors were. We were pushed out of our spot TWICE by large groups moving in and pushing our stuff away. Mind you, they all ignored the multiple other open and available camping sites that had really good space. We had multiple families blaring music and keeping their flood lights (which lit up our tent like Christmas morning) on until way past 2am, and kids screaming and yelling and running right through our campsite most of the night. Plus the kids pulled a picnic table out into the hip high waters just to jump off of it. One group pulled their truck right in front of our tent with their brights on at 1030pm. We wound up leaving a day and a half early because it was all to much.
I get it’s the end of summer and people are trying to enjoy their last bit of summer break, but be courteous to your camping neighbors. Especially in primitive camping.
We’ll hopefully try again during the less busy times, but it all really put a damper on our birthday vacation.

Stunning place for a hike and taking family photos! We went in the fall so I can't speak for the swimming spots, but seeing all of the autumn colors is enough to make the drive worth it! The castle is a lot of fun for the kids to explore, too.

I enjoyed my time at the park today. The waterfall is really pretty and there’s lots of vegetation and animals to see. I visited in what’s considered the winter season on a week day so I was able to save money on parking and the cost of entry. I only spent $12 for myself & my child was free since kids 5 years old and under are free. I brought snacks and food & I didn’t stay the night. It was worth it the drive! There are efforts to keep the park clean, but unfortunately there was litter scattered over the park. The trails are nice & there’s a nice view up butterfly road that I highly recommend seeing.

Visited Turner Falls during winter, and it was pleasantly uncrowded. Green enthusiasts should aim for a visit after spring. Don't forget to explore the castle and take a ride on the Wagon Road for stunning hill views. Note that getting into the water is restricted during winter. However, the restrooms could use more maintenance.

Horrible experience. Picked my son up from Fort Sill. When we were on our way back. Paid our fee online. NOWHERE DID IT SAY NO FISHING. NOT IN THE PAPER THEY PRINTED STATING YOU CANT. NO SIGNS SAY NO FISHING. Had a guy with a radio on a side by side come to me and tell me I had to have a permit. I asked if I could buy it online, and he said you have to have a paper. Trash!!!

Happened to be in the area so we went to explore. Didn’t know there was an entry fee so be aware of that 12 bucks per adult! Otherwise it’s absolutely beautiful. Wish we knew about it before because we would have stayed at the RV camp site. The trails are well maintained, it’s fun and easy to explore, none of it felt neglected. The castle is very neat the rock formations by the falls are fun, we definitely want to go back and spend more time exploring.

I've stopped by a few times and it always seems very busy so I never went in.
However I stopped by on new years day and there was hardly anyone here, which made the experience very peaceful.
It's $20+ dollars to get in per car.
There are some beautiful spots on top of hills here.
The waterfall is pretty big and there are some pretty cool viewing angles.
There are random caves you can walk/crawl into.
Streams/rivers have pretty clear water.
It's a very pretty place.
The water was a little low at the time I went, which is no fault of the park itself.
So I imagine with the water up a bit it looks even better. The pictures I have don't really do it justice.
I would come back, but tbh only if I knew it wasn't going to be as busy as it usually seems.
UPDATE:
Went back, was going 18mph when the limit is 10. Should've gone slower but it's very hilly so speed your speed fluctuates without noticing.
Officers stopped and told us to slow down and let us go. Understandable, but he had a bit of an attitude the way he handled it. Could be a bad day, but it was part of the experience.

We had to pay $30 to get in (there was 3 of us in the truck). There was nothing staffed or opened except the entry booth. We walked up to the falls which was beautiful. We walked up the stairs to check out one building of the old castle which was neat. However, to charge per person or at all to check this stuff out and have nothing else opened was a little outrageous.
Sprawling wildlife preserve with a rustic lodge & a museum dedicated to Southwest art & relics.
The Museum and the Wildlife preserve are quite interesting. The drive to the museum is a good one with quite a bit of wildlife. (Free and rounded up) The Museum, specially the Native American section, is quite detailed and well curated. There is a seperate building with birds and animals as well. All in all, a nice place to visit in the depths of Oklahoma. As one of the residents said, the ink interesting place close by!

This place is definitely worth the drive and admission! Before getting to the museum and all the building, you drive through a safari and see all kinds of animals! It’s scenery is so pretty and calming.
There’s a museum to get some knowledge soaked up and to see all the cool stuff they have there. They also have a lot of hiking trails to hike on. The trails were very well kept and suitable for my toddler to hike too!
Our favorite part had to be the petting zoo and the playground! I’ve never seen a decent sized playground as cool as this one. They’re even shaded areas to sit and relax as the kids play. We’ll definitely be going back soon!

We didn’t have many expectations upon arrival, just looking for something to do after dragging the kids to eat at the Pioneer Woman (lol) but man were we all pleasantly surprised! From the mountain man demonstration, to the drive thru “zoo”, with all the amazing views on the gorgeous property, and finally to the absolutely amazing and entertaining museum! We spent hours here and had the very best time. I had no idea it cost to get in, nor did we mind because it was well worth it. The audio guidance was even entertaining. As an oil and gas employee myself, I found it very educational to read all about Mr. Phillips life. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!

Personal childhood favorite and holds up today! Immediately after the admission gate, there's a beautiful winding slow road that takes you across a beautiful habitat with views of amazing animals. That's before you even hit the parking lot. 👏💚 Beautiful place to spend the day with the family.

Woolaroc Museum is a very unique adventure.
First is the winding road that offers many scenic interests before getting to the Museum.
There were fun signs to read, Buffalo, Emu, Ostriches, Llama, Tee Pees, creeks, stone barrier bridges, and other points of interest.
The Museum is located among other historical buildings, overlooks, and a cafe area.
Once inside, there were many things to see. The Museum displayed Indian artifacts from the dinasaur stone age to the current era. Paintings of Indian Chiefs exhibited great details that hung on the walls. Bronz sculptures and wagon coaches were placed throughout every room and on the grounds.
In the basement was Frank Phillips' timeline, from being a Barber to becoming an oil man.
The quality of the collections at Woolaroc Museum rates as high as other famous museums around the world. It deserves credit for its preservation of history.

I would recommend you giving this place a try. Lots of variety for everyone. Nature to be enjoyed as you drive through and even a couple of hiking trails to explore in person. They have some wildlife to see as you drive around and also an area to see some animals in more of a barn setting. The lookout tower that you can climb for a great view. Then they also have a MASSIVE museum so make sure you allow yourself enough time.

We went during Easter weekend and loved our visit. It was my second visit but I forgot about the extent of the nature reserve and the scope of the museum. It was an educational and interesting visit and such an amazing history of native Americans and the old West. The visit was worth the price of admission. The only disappointment is that the second floor is now closed in the lodge.

Maybe not one of the nation’s best but definitely a fun place to come in Oklahoma for a few hours. For all that you can do, I would say it’s worth the admission fee at least for a see-once while in Oklahoma visit. The museum is larger than expected and well maintained. Cute animals to see and a petting zoo area too. Walking trails are OK, some areas had been flooded due to storm the previous night. We enjoyed the cafe which is fairly priced and has unique items like Indian tacos and flat bread.

The museum was full of a lot of interesting things and information. The hiking trails were pretty good. They would probably be a lot better after a rain or during a wetter time of the year. It was pretty dry when we my wife and I went. Still beautiful and fun though. Lots of playground equipment for kids to take a break and play on. Food was a little expensive,as you would expect, but very good quality. You are welcome to bring your own food and eat picnic style also. Lots of animals to see. Staff was polite and helpful. Not really sure how to make it better.

The Philbrook Museum of Art is a world-renowned art museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The building and grounds are stunningly beautiful, and the museum has an extensive collection of art from prehistoric to modern times. There are regularly scheduled special exhibits as well as opportunities for homeschool classes and Second Saturday events which are free for children 17 years old and younger.
Philbrook’s garden is absolutely stunning! I was taken aback at the beauty of the pristine landscaping! The inside exhibits were adequate. It may be better to visit when there’s a traveling exhibit for more variety. The gift shop is nice and well stocked! I can’t wait to come back and visit this museum!

Parking: ample free parking in a paid parking lot surrounding the mansion; however during special exhibits you have to park along the side of the street and it can be a bit tight.
Beautiful mansion home that was once owned by the family that founded Phillips gasoline stations. Today the museum is a curated collection of art ranging from native American to American landscapes European and modern. The highlight for us though was wandering the grounds in the beautiful manicured Gardens and fountains right outside the mansion. We spent about an hour in the Mansion itself viewing the permanent exhibit, and an hour and a half to two hours exploring the grounds.

Me and my boys ages 9 and 14yrs of age had a FANTASTIC day at Philbrook. There was so much for them to do besides looking and learning about all the beautiful artwork. Outside the grounds were amazing, swings and fun little spots along the way. Our day was a successful memory making day!!♥️

The grounds and building itself had wider artistic appeal than much of the collection. It's all individual preference at the end of the day, but I found much of the modern art kitschy and garish. The Renaissance and Native American art were a bright spot, with much of the other art being too eclectic and interpretive to hold universal appeal. If someone is only casually interested in art, there are better museums for them.

Loved this art gallery set in a historic house with incredible gardens. We went on a Saturday. There were high-quality art supplies, clip boards, and easels available for patron use. We had a snack from the bar. The almond croissant was exceptional.
In the lower level of the gallery there is a room explaining the history of the land and house.
The visiting show was an interactive art exhibit encouraging play. While the Philbrooke collections showed a diverse selection ranging from Indigenous art, to Renaissance and contemporary pieces. Including even, an original Picasso.

Late September 2023 - The Philbrook Museum of Art is exceptional. I say this as someone who has seen many of the finest museums. A hidden gem in Southeast America, it's a must see in terms of its unique collection of paintings and artifacts in addition to their broad gardens, lush with exotic plants and water. If I lived here I would go all the time.
Visiting Grand Lake many times, residents of the Shangra La resort, Bartlesville and simply driving through the state to get here and there for over a decade, I'm grateful for the return visit to Oklahoma, which over a week's stay brought my companion and I so many nice experiences including the Philbrook Museum.

First visit to Oklahoma and so enjoyed the sense of community, inclusiveness and cultural offerings. In addition to Tulsa's numerous parks and family focused recreation venues is this amazingly beautiful museum bequeathed to the city by a industrial magnate. The art offerings are on par with big city city museums and tastefully presented. From Rembrandt to Monet. Don't miss this opportunity.

I have brought my family here to visit during the holidays for years! Their light displays are breathtaking! They have cozy little igloos outside, a concession stand, and a ton of places for spectacular photo opportunities. Inside, the art displays are always amazing as well and the entire museum has a welcoming and at the same time, mysterious, feeling to it. Exploring each room is one of my kids favorite parts.

I always wanted to visit the gardens during the spring and I was able to make it happen this year while there was an art in bloom exhibition going on. Hands down the best exhibition and gardens are truly a slice of Tuscany in Tulsa.

Nice collection and grounds. The collection is actually on the small side, but a lot of nice pieces. The building is really cool. Going on a nice day is the way to get the most out of the entrance fee though, since the grounds are really nice to walk around.

The gardens were so beautiful. Very well maintained. The property was actually nicer than the botanical garden. Being October makes it more impressive. Wasn’t overly crowded. Peaceful and quiet. The cabin was super cool, make sure you don’t miss it.

Beautiful museum on beautiful garden grounds. Go for the art, but don't miss the walk around the gardens. April 2024.

Great museum full of diverse art--see photos! Worth the admission fee.
If you can go during the holiday season in December, be sure to go to the Holiday light show. It is spectacular! See photos.

Enormous property, being your walking shoes. It is best enjoyed with a guided tour. We spend hours wondering around. Left me feeling like I missed something. However, we get to soak up the art, take a picture or 10. The house is lovely, I think the real treat for most is the gardens. The summer house distant have a pool and the cabin is cute. The further back in the property you go the less to see. Still spent about 4-5 hours here.
Every visit is unique and so worth the trip! The owners are great people and the animals are spoiled! Love how they love their animals!! Hold a spider monkey, a boa, a ring tailed lemur or a kangaroo joey!!

A well spent two hours in a small but excellent zoo. The ticket price includes a guided tour by a knowledgeable guide who introduces each animal as a unique individual as well as a member of a species. The animals are within feet of the viewers, not yards. It was a well spent two hours -- even for my 7 year old.

This place was outstanding from start to finish. The Visitor Center was great, and the staff met us with a smile and were also holding some of the babies from the zoo. Mind you, it costs a pretty penny to pet and hold them. We got two adult passes and two waters with two feed sacks for less than forty dollars. It was truly not a bad price for a two hour guided tour that didn't disappoint. Great place for small children. Just be mindful its alot of walking, so be ready. We will return because of the great experience.

Where do I start? This was our daughter's fourth birthday trip with family and friends, and we had such an AMAZING experience. From the owners to the staff, you couldn't have asked for a better team to guide, teach, and welcome us. We definitely will be returning soon!

It was an amazing experience! I've lived twenty miles from it and had never been to it until the other day. The guided tour made it much better than reading on a sign about the animals. And the story of the tiger cubs and the Golden Retriever! Awesome! God is good!

Amazing place to visit! Our tour of the grounds was about 90 mins and the tour guide was Awesome! We were able to get much closer to the animals than in a regular zoo. This is not a petting zoo, they are real lions, tigers and bears (oh my!) Tour guide interacted with the animals so we could see how fun they are. Our almost 8 year old granddaughter Loved it! Definitely recommend for all ages.

Really awesome experience!!! Truly a hidden gem! Way better than the experience you are getting at big zoos. The tour guides Mariah and Alexis are fun and do a fantastic job! Tom, the owner, is very nice too! (It's possible i got their names wrong). Can't wait to get back there next season!

Me and my wife had a great time and beat the large crowd thank goodness. All the animals were very exciting to see so close up and they were very well taken care of. Very clean environment, I recommend checking this park out. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I like big cats the most but all the exhibits were cool in their own way. I hope this place keeps getting bigger and better. Thanks for a great time.

Very personable and intimate experience. VIP experience is the way to go! Well worth the money. They didn’t rush the animal encounters. Able to take pics with own phone for additional charge.
Worked well with people with disabilities and young children. They were very accommodating and descriptive with my friends who are blind.
Able to feed many animals provided bags of crackers and a banana. Plus, viewed the tour guide feed raw chicken to larger animals.
General admission has approximate an hour and one half tour guide to see animals. Variety of VIP experiences available to encounter lots of animals. Can pet, hold, cuddle (just has to be below the neck).
Friendly staff answered all questions. They really care about the animals and you can tell.
Extremely under rated place. A real hidden gem 💎!
Cold water available to purchase or you can bring in your own.
Wagons available for little legs that get tired.

Family owned & run. A very nice place to spend quality family time & learn about animals these people love, adore, & care for! This is our favorite safari compared to other safaris we’ve been to and they’ve all been nice. You can feed most of these animals under supervision. You can also purchase upgrades to feed & pet the kangaroos, camel, and alpacas. Visit them soon!

Our second time to visit and we love this place. The included guided tours, the feeding opportunities, the diversity of animals, the stories behind how the animals arrived, the care by the owners and staff, and the up close and personal observations. All of it is great. We will continue to visit on a yearly basis and look forward to help keep this safari thriving as best we can. 1 hour from Tulsa is well worth it.
The Tulsa Zoo is one of the largest and most popular zoos in the U.S., and it's perfect for all ages. It has a huge variety of animals, including African lions, Australian kangaroos, South American jaguars and Malayan tigers. The zoo also has a Safari Train, which riders can ride around the park. There are also various exhibits that visitors can explore, such as an underwater viewing station that invites guests to view the playful creatures from below.
We LOVED the zoo so much last weekend that we bought the year membership so we can keep going this summer! I personally hadn't been in years I think my oldest was 4 part time we'd gone & he about to be 8 so several years & so much had changed! They've added several exhibits, upgraded the playground, added restaurants & a family area for feeding young ones, changing them, or just a quiet place to catch your bearings from all the activity! The animals were very active when we went, chimpanzees & sea lions really put on a show for us!! They're opening the new Zoorassic World exhibit this weekend (we got a small sneak peak see pics) & we are all so excited to go see it! It will be open until September so make sure to see it if you go in the next few months! I had so much fun I felt like a little kid again, my son can't wait to go back, & we've decided to have his little brothers Wild One party there in July!! Highly recommend the Tulsa Zoo if you get the chance!

It was my first time visiting Tulsa Zoo & I would definitely recommend it.
We visited on a Sunday and arrived about 11 am.
The wait time to purchase tickets at the gate was a bit long. We purchased the majority our tickets online, but we needed to purchase 4 more at the gate. Our wait time to purchase tickets at the gate was about 15-20 minutes.
The line for members & online tickets moves much faster!
We enjoyed all the exhibits & park...especially the Dinosaur Exhibit!
The Dinosaur Exhibit is a temporary exhibit through the end of summer 2022. There is an additional cost to enter.
My only reason for 4 star review is restroom cleanliness. I'm happy they take such good care of the animals, exhibits, habitats and grounds but the restrooms need more frequent cleaning.
Overall...great zoo to visit!

This Zoo is such a nice place to visit. It brings me my childhood memories. I also like that they have a trail of different in-house themed enclosures for desert, sea, rainforest, and tundra environments. Though it is still best for animals to be in their natural habitat, the animals here look healthy and well attended.

I have loved the Tulsa Zoo for years. The Wild Kingdom is an excellent addition. This was our first time experiencing it. Also, the zoo is super child friendly! They have playgrounds that are better than city park play grounds! Finally, the accessibility ♿️ of the park is tremendous. The photos are of two of the bathrooms we saw. Tremendous job!

This is a great Zoo for the size of the city and community it is in. The facility always keeps getting expanded and refreshed and is the perfect place for families and kids for spending the afternoon or longer. It is well organized and maintained and the exhibits are informative and interesting for all age groups. I have been an occasional out of State visitor when visiting the area over many years, but going to this Zoo with kids and other family members is always a fun and relaxing experience. There is also a little train that goes around, adding to the enjoyment and mobility around the place. Well worth the visit.

We visited the zoo during Spring Break 2024 and it was nice. They had a picnic area and tables to enjoy a preplanned picnic lunch. To add on to the beauty of the zoo right by one of several picnic locations featured a large play park for the older kids on one side and a smaller area for the little children that enabled the adults to chat at the tables while still being able to keep an eye on the kiddos. This extra feature prompted me to purchase seasonal passes because a trip to the play park with a picnic is a helpful go-to outing during the summer season. The zoo also had refreshment stands throughout that featured cold drinks and slushes as well as beer on tap! They were featuring the Life-Sized Bug Museum and that was a pleasurable experience. Hearing the natural sound of each insect was very educational and fun for myself as well as my grandchildren! The rain forests climate change was surprising and interesting. They had several walk through buildings featuring monkeys, birds, fish, different tiny animals etc. I thought the sloth particularly interesting as I found out that it sleeps 20+ hours a day, wow👀! Riding the train around the entire zoo provided the perfect scenery of the totality of the zoo as well as offering tiny feet a much needed break. This was wholesome family-fun for everyone. The children feel asleep on the drive home within the first 5 minutes of the car ride. Gather the fam, pack a picnic lunch, remember your sun screen and refillable water bottles and set out on a guaranteed day filled with fun, learning, surprises & exploration!

Quiet a nice zoo. Been to many across the U.S. and this is a favorite. Our visit was over Thanksgiving week so the zoo had already switched over to it's winter displaying of animals. Some were inside and not able to be seen outside but it didn't effect the experience. This zoo is laid out extremely well. The course you follow wound through so many interesting sights that it didn't seem long or tiring, even for an old man like me. My two grandsons, ages 8 and 3, had a blast. There is a very good and fairly large playground near the middle of the journey so adults can sit and rest while the kidos burn off energy. Great idea. Price was right. Not too crowded. Weather was great, especially for late November, and I was with some people I dearly love. Very great experience.

My family loves the Tulsa zoo! We have the annual membership and it is well worth the price. We go monthly and most time every other week. It’s become our favorite family tradition! My daughter loves seeing the moneys and goats. The updated playground can keep her entertained for hours, if we let her stay that long. The staff is always so nice and welcoming to us and every guest. The animals seem very content, happy, and well taken care of. I recommend the Tulsa Zoo to everyone who visit Tulsa and to anyone in the area with children the membership is worth it!

My wife and I loved our visit. There is a wide variety of animals to see. Make sure to look out for non-caged native creatures also. Keep an eye out for "Easter eggs", hint: look for the wood carved owl sitting up in a tree near a food court. The Train ride is inexpensive so make sure to take a ride. We can't wait to go back!

The zoo is always a great time. The landscaping is really nice. The recent updates to the animal enclosures are so natural and spacious. Certain times of day, however, the glass is impossible to see through due to it being so reflective. It is great to check your hairdo, but disappointing when you know the animal is so close.
I am also disappointed in the train ride from the sea lions to the entrance. If you love large a/c units and warehouses, you will find it very educational. It would be nice to not be charged for that half of the train ride.
We have family passes, which I highly recommend if you’re going to visit a few times a year.

Nice large Zoo with a ton of exhibits. Cute little train does a loop around, and can catch it halfway if your're tired and need a lift back to the front. It drops you off right by the carousel. Plenty of cool indoor exhibits as well. Also a petting "children's zoo" and playground for the kiddos. Overall a nice place to spend a few hours.

This was actually a little sad for me. The very first thing we saw were the chimpanzees. They were laying around on the higher planks so it was difficult to see them. They weren't asleep, they were just laying there. One was munching and getting some water and seemed just fine but the other two looked sad. I visited all the other enclosures and other than maybe the bear who stayed in it's cave or the tiger that laid in the shade a few feet from a pool, everyone seemed pretty happy and cared for, but those chimps make me sad. I hope they're doing things to ensure the happiness of the animals there. It was pretty clean and the employees were helpful. The elephants were awesome and there's supposed to be more elephants coming. Everything drink and food-wise is pretty expensive but that's to be expected. If I went again, I'd go in the cooler weather and maybe see some happier faces lol

I'm giving the zoo five stars because I believe it is usually a five star experience.
We really enjoyed it - gorgeous flower gardens, enough indoor options to give us a break from the heat outside, and the animals were will cared for. My kids loved riding the carousel, as well.
Buyer Beware: ask what exhibits are closed before purchasing tickets.
We were told at ticketing that the train was closed and we were okay with that. We were not told that half the zoo was closed. We hit blockades everywhere and finally went back to the carousel to ask the ladies how to get to the lions, giraffes, rhinos, and such. With orange blockades closing off walkways and an actual gate closing another, we went in circles for a while before finally asking. Yeah, literally half the zoo was blocked off.
That was really disappointing. We're visiting from Texas, so we aren't members who can just return a different day. I wish we had been told before we purchased tickets.
Even with that, it was still a fun experience and a beautifully maintained zoo.

I haven't been to many zoos in my life, and the ones I did visit I was too young to remember anything. Tulsa zoo is absolutely amazing, my wife and i went alone and even without kids we spent 3 hours here. They have such an amazing selection of animals to see and the enclosures for the MOST part are large and don't seem sad and cramped. It's over 80 acres of zoo land so bring good walking shoes.

Had a wonderful time at the zoo with the kids. I recommend the zoo pass, it makes it easier. The one complaint would be the food prices compared to the food quality. Other than that had a blast.
Greg Wilson — Google review
Im not sure if it were the time we went (1:30-4pm) or the time of year (early spring) but the animals were so active. The animals in these exhibits were more active than any other zoo and I’ve been to. They have a lot of unique species as well I’m not use to seeing in other zoos. Such as a python and naked mole rats.
My favorite exhibits were the Diana Monkies, the chimps, the giraffes, and the giant tortoise's. The elephant exhibit was closed today.
My only thing is that a couple exhibits had unfair space compared to other animals such as their white and black swan and the a larger sea turtle in one of the indoor exhibits. The bald eagles had clipped wings as well whereas so many other birds had ability to fly.

I found out that you can reserve wheelchairs, strollers, etc. ahead of time. Calling in even before the day of tour visit. They give discounts if you have a picture ID and EBT card at entrance. Cost is really reaonable even without discount. Great presentations of animals, plenty of variety of animals. Mechanical bugs area children seemed to be REALLY ENJOYING I observed. Thinking early in the day is better, as many were resting around noontime.

We pay for the family membership pass since we come here so often! Our kids absolutely love seeing all the animals! We also love the food (pepperoni pizza is the kids' FAVORITE) definitely worth the money and drive for some people.

I’m a bit disappointed… the tickets were expensive for a half zoo. They were updating a lot wich is fine but nothing on their website. The animal houses closing at 4 pm but entering the zoo is until 4. Makes no sense since you won’t make it to see the entire zoo. Half cages were empty but paying the full price. The restaurants were mainly closed abs the one that was open sells chips and other snacks for a horrendous price. The gift shop only for rich people since a toy cost 30-40$!! I guess you have to decide on your own if you can afford it. Kids will definitely have fun but I would not go there again. The map very confusing and the way the zoo is organized very strange… we walked in circles a lot and wasted so much time. Please make sure you come at latest at 1 pm to the zoo to see snd enjoy it all.

Preserved 19th-century fortress complex chronicling Indian history & law & order in the Old West.
The museum has great films and good museum exhibits in the historic buildings. Life size photos of the pioneers and natives and outlaws and deputies made it memorable. The way the displays were made I was able to take in the info and remember facts and images. My favorite was listening to the tribal languages! I saw a few books in the shop I want to order. Standing at the trail of tears overlook was powerful. The interactive maps of how the territories of the Indian nations were decimated was impactful. Learning of the Indian removal and disregard for the treaties is heartbreaking. Videos and displays show how the tribes are keeping their language and stories and dances and other parts of their culture alive and their efforts of passing down, recording, documenting is excellent.

Enjoyed the trip and history. Paid $35 for the year so I can go back with the husband. Everything was fine til I noticed a guy following my daughter and I. After threatening the guy, noticed a knife around his neck. Went to my truck to grab my knife and went straight into the visitors office and let them know. They immediately sent someone out to search the grounds. They called pd but they just drove up the road and didn’t seem to care. Rangers had me felt at ease so I finished the tour with my daughter and got into my truck to leave. I’d advice mothers to have their husbands with them if they go. Or a weapon. I went today around 10:30 and left about 4. Incident happened around 3pm. Keep an eye out if you go. But other then that, the place had some nice things inside. Some old. Some look new, and they tried to make them look old.

My family visits forts on every trip and this one was very different since it wasn't largely used for war and instead to try and keep peace in the Indian territories. This is a great place to take your kids and family. That is lots to see and experience from a historical perspective. So make sure you take the time... At least three to four hours if you want to immerse yourself. Highly recommend paying the entry fee for adults into the courthouse and the jail cells. For kids 12 and under, it's free. There is also plenty of shaded space and gazebos to have your afternoon picnic lunch. Don't forget to see the gallows and take the walking paths to the Trail of Tears and terrific views of the Arkansas river.

The Walmart Museum is a must-see when in Bentonville, Arkansas. The museum features exhibits on the companys meteoric rise to retail domination and includes an old-style cafe.
Great timeline of Sam Walton and the raise of Wal-Mart. Very limited items to view but neat to see the items they did have, including old store ads. My favorite item was Sam’s red Ford 150 along with his handy shotgun. This is not a big museum and you can cover all the rooms one to two hours. They have a nice ice cream shop to enjoy when you finish. It was a good time!

What an interesting place to see the first store and learn the history of Sam Walton and Walmart! The museum staff, Lisa and Barb were the most bubbly museum tour guides you could possibly imagine! They were dressed in hula skirts for the 40th anniversary of Sam dancing a hula on Wall Street and the ladies had everyone participating in the Walmart cheer! Fun stuff! Walmart stores and office buildings all over Bentonville, AR. The original, on a small street corner is under a big renovation, but took a photo anyway and we stopped at a very huge store in town and picked up a couple things.

Neat museum! Worth going inside when you are in town to check out Walton's 5-10. Its free and has some neat artifacts from the early days of Walmart and Sam's Club. One thing that amazed me was the digital display showing the new Walmart's added each year since its beginning.

Interesting whether you shop at Walmart or not. Walmart is a brand you commonly see all over America, but I didn't know the details this museum offered. As you might expect, the exhibits are glowing and celebratory of their founder Sam Walton, including his office preserved behind glass, his pickup truck, and his wife's wedding dress. No matter how you feel about Walmart, seeing the full timeline from it's founder's birth to the present is a fascinating story of innovation, business, branding, and extraordinary success. There are surprises and nostalgia as you learn about Walmart trying to compete and keep up with changing times. Try some Grapette soda! Please note: The 5 & 10 storefront is the entrance to the museum. Inside the door you will find the gift shop and ticket desk.

A very interesting museum! The story began with the denial of lease renewal to the founder, to running a nationwide business and how humble he was attributing his success to his employees. It goes without saying that stories of 'Karens of the era' are equally intriguing. It is also fun to appreciate the products of the time. I was there in summertime when the cafe was selling a honey ice-cream.

Wonderful art museum. And the staff were fantastic. I missed out on getting a (free) ticket to see the Frank Lloyd Wright house, so they let me see one of the paid exhibits for free instead. The Dirty South special exhibit was challenging and thought provoking and very well produced. The art galleries were well laid out in (mostly) chronological order, with plenty of room for everyone who wanted to get up close to the artwork.

Beautiful trails with art all along the way. The Narcissus balls are mesmerizing. They reflect the sun and the clouds and the other balls with their reflections and on a windy day with high cirrus clouds it's like watching a movie. It changes and the changes as well. There are so many fun and whimsical pieces of art that the walk is a true treat. My favorite portrait in the gallery was Kindred Spirits. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the restaurant is well placed at the end of the gallery. All of the docents are helpful and friendly. Highly recommend, especially the trails.

This is a beautiful art museum. I love the outside walkway with the art pieces lining the path. This is where the Frank Lloyd Wright building is located. The giant sphere is really pretty as well. The skylight in the lobby is gorgeous and so is the ceiling by the restaurant. The building itself is massive and surreal. It's really neat to look at the building from the 4th floor glass patio. I didn't realize how big this museum was. We didn't have enough time to see all of it so, we will have to go back when we come back to Arkansas.

This place is amazing! An incredible collection of American art. And incredibly it’s free (except for certain exhibits). Definitely one of the best art museums in the country. The architecture of the place is worth seeing as well. I highly recommend waiting to see the Kusama infinity room. It’s an incredible piece of art and was the highlight of my visit. Almost decided not wait but so glad I did!

A lovely way to spend several hours. I was fortunate enough to visit when school had started so the galleries were not overcrowded. The buildings and surroundings are almost as wonderful as the art contained inside. Lots of staff to answer questions. Was able to get tickets to the Frank Loyd Wright house so I took that self-guided tour. South Stopped for a glass of wine in the restaurant and enjoyed the music at happy hour in beautiful surroundings. As I was leaving I noticed many locals out taking advantage of the many trails and walking areas around the museum. Could not be better!

Took my family there on quick educational get away. My oldest had written an essay about this place for school which prompted us to check it out. Well it did not disappoint. There were a lot of exhibits to tour and learn about. This is a big place so be prepared to do a lot of walking. Even still, it is worth the travel.

Nice place especially if you appreciate art! I'm more of a nature type of person and the hiking paths was more my style. The building and water surrounding was beautiful! Also it's the best price, free (some things you can pay for)!

It was fun to just go in and see different artists work. For one of the areas that I went through, in American history, there was landscape paintings. Those art pieces brought peace to me and took me to this state of mind that I was there in the moment watching this scene right in front of me. Once I moved towards modern art it definitely gave me new perspectives towards life. Definitely recommended this museum for those interested in both historic and modern arts.

I am a huge fan of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. I live locally, so I am blessed enough to check out the museum a few times per year. It is definitely at the top of my list for places to bring visiting family and friends. The trails around the museum are great for walking, biking, hiking and enjoying the outdoor art. The inside is equally interesting, especially because they are always moving things around and featuring new pieces. You never step into the same museum when you go to Crystal Bridges, because the art is a living thing that they don't stick in a spot to be forgotten or glossed over. Some pieces, naturally, are the foundation of their collection, but because everything around changes it is exciting and makes you look at the art in a new way. On a lighter note, you may even be inspired, as were my out of state friend and I, to try a new hairdo! Get out, have fun, and spend a day or two exploring this really special spot in Northwest Arkansas. Another major bonus? The museum has free admission so you can save your money for their restaurant or coffee bar on the main floor! Yum!

Enjoyed the museum a lot. When in the area again, I will visit. I would like to see more of the outside sculptures next time. Hopefully I will have a electric wheelchair so I can get around easier. I could only manage a small area but got some nice photos. The inside had so much to see you can't absorb it all in one visit.

I can't believe there would be a better venue for exhibiting artwork in the U.S. Just an amazing facility and grounds; well designed and maintained. There is an impressively wide collection of works that change and rotate on a regular basis. This recent trip was my second (the first was within a few years of opening), and I look forward to returning after renovations are completed in a few more years.

This is a world class museum. The structures themselves are architectural marvels laid into the landscape in brilliant and unique ways. Even the freaking dam underneath is innovative (take the free tour).
On top of that the free collections that you can just go see anytime are fantastic and varied. There's a lot to walk around for or just sit and get comfortable. I haven't even gone to a pay exhibit yet, but will in the future.
I can't really understand someone not visiting if they are anywhere in NW Arkansas. It's worth the trip, multiple times and people in the wider region should be taking advantage too.

The museum itself could be an amazing experience if you were not stared down by staff making sure you are wearing a mask.
The coffee bistro is super cute. They had simple syrup!
One of the employees his name was Kurt and he was cold and almost rude. I asked him if he thought the coffee was good,.he said, I can try it, if I don't like it I can get my money back. He said everyone has their opinion.
That was not what I wanted to hear about the coffee from it's seller. His counterpart, she was so nice.
We walked from one end to the other just to be told we couldn't take our coffee.onto the art museum part, and the outside viewing areas we not open. It was a disappointing trip for sure. Nothing could be shown there that would encourage me to go back.

I have been to Crystal Bridges about 10 times since it has opened. I have also been a member and gone to events there. Never had anything less than a stellar experience. The staff is great, the facilities modern and accessible. The main galleries always hold something new and the outdoor exhibits are magical. The museum is free but the paid installations are usually the best thing going on. Favorite visits lately include the Listening Forest & Diego Rivera.

We spent about 2-3 hours here and didn't even dent all that is to discover & explore at this amazing museum! The awesome art to see starts outside with the shining tree and the overall amazing architecture of the entire facility inside & the exterior grounds which was so well thought out & designed. Though this a museum of American art, I consider it a world class museum that is well worth any drive from any part of the USA! Absolutely Splendid!!

Crystal Bridges is a top notch museum located in Bentonville, Arkansas. Admission is always free for the main art galleries and they are definitely very interesting and thought provoking. I spent about 2 hours going through the museum at a quick pace, but you can spend more or less time depending on how much you stop to appreciate and read about the art. They do seem to have special events and they started a new live singer series - which was incredible!

Our girls loved it. Although I absolutely love the art, it was a nice day to be outside so we focused more on them. We will def go back there is still so much that we didn't get to see. Also, they were having a wedding.. and it was absolutely stunning! Got a glimpse of the bride as well, and she was very beautiful and elegant! Congrats! If you see this!

Oh my, I already want to go back next time I’m in the area! This place is hugge, inside and outside. So many exhibits and things to see here, could easily be here for 4-5 hrs at a time! General admission is free, you have to purchase tickets to view the current exhibition. I love that it is right in the middle of the “forest” with trails and greenery that you can see from inside while exploring the museum! Simply amazing ! Something for all ages as well ! Restaurant and cafe on premises, also saw some ppl eating a packed lunch in the dining area!

Crystal Bridges is a perfect place to spend a winter day. Free admission. Nestled in the Ozark Mountains with trails all around. Went on a spontaneous trip for my brother’s birthday. The Human 1 exhibit and all types of unique art and culture spread around. Found parking on the bottom level stayed around 2-3 hours and enjoyed this wonderful Art Museum.

Very nice museum with decent parking. Get their 20 minutes before opening if you want upper parking near the entrance and tickets to the Wright house. Great exhibits but is under construction for twice as much space. General admission is free but some events are paid tickets.

Wow for free!! I was sure what I'd find but this was a great stop, LOTS of walking required especially if you're going to checkout all of the exterior art in the park. Fun for the whole family with outdoor chess, checkers, and bag toss. Coffee shop with treats and gift shop full of art and books.

We had not been to this facility before. Only heard about it. The entire facility was simply amazing. The engineering to develop each building was a site to see. The walking paths were well planned and accented by sculptures.
We especially enjoyed the Frank Lloyd Wright home.
Inside the buildings the art collection rivaled anything you would see elsewhere in the US. The quality and variety along with the quantity makes this simply a must see. Staff was extremely helpful whenever we needed direction or explanation. This place is a must see for everyone. The Walton family deserves a huge thanks for sharing their resources with the world!

Amazing art museum with free general admission thanks to Walmart. We paid for the extra temporary Exquisite Creatures exhibit and it was incredible. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and we will absolutely be back to see what new pieces they bring in. If your intown do not miss this gem of a museum.

This place more than exceeded our expectations! The Walton family has done so much for the community and Crystal Bridges is no exception. The displays of art were beautiful, the space well-decorated and inviting and the staff so friendly. For a free museum, it was so impressive. Beautiful, open spaces with windows, great for kids and adults alike! Thank you Alice Walton for your creative genius in bringing this to Bentonville!
This beautiful church is made of wood and glass and its windows offer a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. The church was designed as a place for visitors to enjoy moments of peace and serenity, and it is an amazing sight to behold.
So lovely!! I don't think I took enough photos and I definitely would love to go again. Perfect place for wedding, engagement or anniversary photos! Anyone who loves photography and old chapels would LOVE this place. My kids and husband enjoyed it as much as I did. I look forward to visiting again when vacationing in Arkansas.

Calm, beautiful and magical. If you're ever in or near Eureka Springs, definitely make sure you take a few minutes to stop by and check out this marvel in the woods. It shouldn't take more than that, as its just one chapel, but you'll feel like you have walked into an elven structure or something out of a fantasy novel. Be sure to check the times online beforehand though since hours do change daily.

What a lovely little chapel! The construction is beautiful as is the setting. This is a very peaceful spot to simply sit and be. This was our main motivation for driving down from Branson and we didn't regret it. It was a bit crowded when we went and a large charter bus full of people was pulling in as we were leaving. So glad others get to enjoy this spot but I didn't feel like I could fully explore. There's always next time!

Visited the old (built 1980) and the new (built 1986). It started to rain as we were walking toward the Chapel, and I took it to mean God would like it if I took my time to enjoy Him, so we stayed awhile. Quiet, serene, peaceful, close to nature, it faces a woodland with shelf rocks and treetops. I enjoyed several minutes to pray privately, and there are copies of the Bible around to read if you like (try Psalms 6 and 8 - very appropriate!).
You'll receive a handout when you first come in, explaining the story of the Chapel. They, of course, accept donations. Services on Sunday are offered at 9am and 11am.

Absolutely beautiful inside and out. We had our dogs with us so my husband had me go in alone. I walked in, so beautiful and a calming music played. I sat down and closed my eyes. There was a quiet calm that came over me.
I went out to my husband and told him to go in. Just feel the zen, I told him.
It didn’t cost anything when we visited but there is a place for donations. We visited in late September 2023

Thorncrown Chapel is outside Eureka Springs in a wooded area off of highway 62. The entrance comes pretty quick and is located in a turn on highway 62, so maybe slow it down and keep your eyes open. It seemed easier to spot the entrance when headed in the north/west direction out of Eureka springs on 62, it being on the right just entering a turn. The entrance road seems to continue in that direction by just veering to the right.
The other direction (south east off highway 62, towards Eureka Springs) may be harder to spot, as it's in the middle of the turn (on your left). You also kind of need to make a U turn entering the the entrance road from that direction. The entrance road itself is kind of narrow and hilly as it runs into the woods to the parking area.
There's a decent sized parking area that is free to park as you visit. The chapel itself is a very short walk on a path from the parking area. You first pass another smaller building on the right, that I think was an office, as you walk to the chapel. I do not remember seeing any restrooms on site, (but could be wrong) so it's probably a good idea to think about that before you visit, just to be on the safe side.
Thorncrown Chapel itself is a really nice Chapel constructed with stone, a lot of wood and glass. It's not overly large in size, but is fairly tall. It has a really nice design. They do not charge an entrance fee to visit. But they do ask that you consider making a donation to help offset the costs to maintain the site.
They also ask that you only take pictures of the inside of the chapel, from being seated in one of the pews. I moved to a different pew to give me different angles and views for the pictures that I snapped. They also ask that you bring no food or drink into the chapel. It was very quiet and serene and beautiful. It is a really nice place. Very much worth a visit.

Thorncrown Chapel is easily on of the most incredible wedding venues I have ever shot at, period! The light inside the building is like no other and you don't even need to bring any florals or decorations, it's all there! I personally had a super easy time communicating with the staff there, they were all really nice to work with during the wedding.

Most beautiful architecture. Free to visit and donations appreciated. Couldn't see it from the parking lot but just a short walk down a nice path and it's beauty will pop out as you get closer. Photos don't do it justice. The glass is amazingly crystal clear! I wish my windows at home were like that!

An unusual chapel with a very interesting backstory. Of course the setting is beautiful. Unfortunately, we were visiting before the full glory of the trees was evident as it was March and pre-spring. Definitely worth a stop.

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is a 450-acre facility that provides a safe haven for abandoned and rescued lions, tigers, and other big cats. Visitors can enjoy tours of the refuge while also learning about these magnificent creatures through educational talks. The unique design of the refuge allows visitors to observe the animals from various angles, including an open-air tram ride around the habitats and walking down the center of the sanctuary.
This is a beautiful retreat for the wild animals that otherwise we're not taken care of. I was totally appalled with hearing the stories on how big cats get bread treated and disregarded. It's a real shame. This place and these cats are definitely a must see if you anywhere near the area and even if your not anywhere near find the time and check it out. There's also rooms which is a dream of mine one day I will be able to!!!

We spent two nights in a safari lodge. The accommodations were wonderful, with a comfortable bed, coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator (stocked with muffins, oatmeal, fruit cups and juice since there is no restaurant on-site), back patio with table and chairs overlooking a field and trees, access to a hot tub and more. Our lodging also included amazing tours. The staff and interns were helpful and informative, and always willing to answer questions. We were sad when our time ended!

This was the absolute highlight of my Eureka Springs trip. I’ve never visited a place with big cats before because I don’t think a lot of them have the animal’s best interest in mind and were mostly looking to line their pockets, but this place is amazing because they rescue animals from bad situations to give them a better life, and not to mention they are non-profit. I will definitely return in the future. We had a wonderful time learning about all the animals and spent a while walking around after the tram tour and got to see/hear a lion caroling. So cool. I highly recommend supporting this place on their endeavors.

2022.03.11 I had a great time on the tour. The open air tram went around the outside of all the habitats. If the animals were outside of their dens, it was easy to see them. I think it is a great design to see animals like this.
Before or after your tour, you can walk down the center of Turpentine Creek and see the same animals from a different angle. You will also get to see a few not visible from the tram tour.
I had a great time and will definitely go again.

We visited in the winter and I didn't expect to see too many animals but there were a surprising amount of beautiful big cats playing and lounging outside despite the cold temps.
Our group took the tram tour and although it was open air, the staff offered us blankets to keep warm, which was incredibly thoughtful.
The tour was fun and informative and there's lots to explore on foot as well. I saw lions, tigers, no bears though. Oh my. They were hibernating and I can't blame them.
The staff were all friendly and talked about the cats like they were family. And it was a nice facility where they genuinely care for the animals. It's a True Sanctuary after all.
We will 100% be going back in the spring.
Also tons of RV spots and nightly rental cabins. And it's Eureka Springs which is FULL of amazing restaurants, hotels, and shops. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Great place doing wonderful work. Love seeing all of the animals and hearing their stories. Can do a tram ride as well as a walking hour. They have added on a lot over the years. Even have lodging there now if that is something you want to do. Great for big groups. Would recommend if coming to the area.

Fun and educational with a higher purpose. This place takes abused, neglected wild animals, mostly big cats, and gives them a place to live out the rest of their lives as wild animals. The only contact is for veterinary care. Some of these animals have heartbreaking stories, that finally get to have a happy ending thanks to this wonderful place. Go early in the morning to hear the lions caroling! This is the best way to see these gorgeous creatures up close, while still supporting their happily ever after.

What an amazing place with an incredible mission. Be sure to book a tour in advance, though we were able to call and reschedule ours a few hours later on the same day just fine due to a sudden conflict. On the tour, they will tell you all about the animals that they rescue, their background, personality, and more. Some of the big cats have a very sad story and it’s amazing that this sanctuary rescued them and gave them a second life here.
During a tour, some animals will simply be resting away from your view area and you might not see them, but that is normal just like any zoo. Several big cats like to come walk up close as well. They are all behind massive fences, so there is no danger of them getting too close. Our tour was an absolutely incredible experience.
They also have an amazing gift shop with a plethora of gifts and souvenirs. It’s another great way to support their cause and we purchased a few items there as well.

It is beautiful here and I love that the money goes to help these fluffy guys, but it is 30 a pop so a group of four of us 120 bucks for a 40 minute tour, which wouldn't be bad if we were able to enjoy the cats more...this tour is depressing and not for kids, they are going to tell you in detail how each cat was neglected previously, they will stop at empty cages, when the cats make noises they will keep talking over the noises, not very many animal facts or talk about how their lives have improved since coming here. Bathrooms were clean, gift shop staff was friendly! I'd like to suggest signs for tigers history for those who want to know the horrors of tiger breeding and neglect cause it is important to the sanctuary, maybe just try to lighten it up a little and remember to take pauses for guests to enjoy the animals in their newer hopefully happier habitats.

I admire the work and education that they do here!! It was well worth the visit. The lion caroling was a highlight!! It feels good for the proceeds of my visit and gift shop purchases to go toward the care of these animals, a mission every staff member takes to heart.

This is a great refuge and they don't have contact with the animals so they prioritize both the animals and the people safety. Great one to support! They've taken a lot of other animals from so called sanctuaries that weren't treating their animals right. There are some sad stories but these cats and bears are prioritized now and they are not made to perform on tours which is good. You are able to do a self guided tour so you can take the guided tour and if you don't see the animals on that tour you can catch them on the walkabout. It was very enjoyable and I felt good about supporting this Refuge!

Amazing place for a great cause. I have gone here two times now and both experiences were amazing. The second time I stayed in a bungalow on the property to be close to the cats. Super clean and cute on the inside. The tour of the place is great, you take a tram around the place and the tour guide tells you about each animal! Warning, the stories are sad but they are all safe and well taken care of now! This is a non profit organization that you can tell truly cares about these beautiful cats. They also have bears! They also have wheelchair accessible ramps and mounts for the tram ride!

Our family absolutely love coming here. The interpreters are always super friendly and knowledgeable. Our room is always clean. We always spend the night and take two (free) tours while we stay.
We like the 4pm tour because it's the last tour of the day and the cats seem more active. We've also noticed more activity at the 9am tour as well. The tours generally last about 45 minutes. There is also plenty to see on foot after the tour is over, as well as a gift shop.
We stay in the Tree House and it is very unique. The kids love climbing a ladder to their loft beds. The loft is tall enough for an adult to stand up in (at least in the center). The beds are just mattresses on the floor but the kids say they're quite comfortable.
The queen bed downstairs isn't my favorite, I have to admit. When two people are in the bed it seems to make you gravitate towards the middle. However, opening the windows and being able to hear lions caroling nearby makes up for it.
The room comes quite well stocked. They provide breakfast items, a microwave, plenty of coffee, tea, an extra fan, TV with a few channels, plates and cups, plastic cutlery, paper towels, and even a wine bottle opener.
I must also mention the bathroom. There isn't much of one to speak of. It does come well stocked with a hairdryer, plenty of soap and shampoo, and makeup removers... but it is very, very small. Very. Small.
The private deck in back is very nice. There is a table with four chairs and it's a perfect place to spend the evening if the weather is nice.
All in all, if you are a cat person, I thoroughly recommend Turpentine Creek. It's an experience you'll remember.

This was a great visit. I love seeing all of the beautiful cats. Most of the cats were rescued from neglectful situations and I'm glad that this sanctuary is taking care of the cats now. They also have great safety precautions for the staff which is very important. Our tour guide was awesome and knowledgeable. I love getting to walk around and spend as much time as we wanted seeing the animals. The gift shop had a ton of cool stuff to buy! I got a beautiful cream colored sweatshirt. I'd say the African Serval was my favorite. She is so beautiful and hissy 😂 We will definitely return the next time we're in Arkansas!

Great wildlife preserve with many beautiful animals on a huge property. The caretakers truly have the best interests of the animals in mind and the facility is GFAS (Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries) certified, meaning there is no breeding, selling, petting, or any other interaction of people and animals on the property. The glamping tents are very comfortable and are so close to the animals you can hear them caroling with each other during the night. Definitely recommend and I will visit again if I'm ever back in Eureka Springs.

Nature preserve open for hiking, biking, fishing & tram tours, with a cafe & cabins for rent.
A 3.8 mile one way trail (with sites branching off of it) that I was able to job 2.2 miles into before it was getting close to closing time. Easily the best nature trail I've ever been on. I will make it back here one day to finish the trail. Still full of incredible views. Waterfalls what seems like every 100 yards, eagles overhead, trail following the river, and if you can make it to the end there's an overlook for bison. Drove 2 hours and jogged 4 miles, worth it!

We loved visiting this place and had a really great overall experience, but be aware that there is no water offered along the trail unless you’ve got cash. That would have been great to know before we got over a mile in. Not much info was provided. We rented bikes, but it was all pretty pricey. The views are incredible and I think it’s worth the expense at least once. Everything is wonderfully well kept. That alone is worth seeing. Going here gives you such an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. I highly recommend it!

Wow, this place is phenomenal. Privately owned park and once of the most immaculately manicured places we’ve ever seen. You can walk, rent/bring bikes, ride shuttles, shop, eat, or just wander around. We weren’t able to spend much time there, but what we saw was beautiful.
The gift shop is fancy and high priced. The mill building consist of the restaurant and museum. The restaurant looked really nice and has a beautiful view. We didn’t eat here because we were short on time… they also close prior to dinner. The museum is like a private collection of local natural history and then the other side teaches about the mill’s history.
We walked down to the wedding chapel and around there but had to turn back after that. Every building and structure was heavy timber and beautifully made.
We wished we could have spent more time here and will definitely try to come back at some point. It is worth noting that this is a day use only park and there are no overnight accommodations, though that would be really neat!!

He made sure we had a wonderful experience. We arrived during a cold front and didn't bring blankets. He made sure to help us locate different blanket options in the store and get them before the tour started. You can walk/hike, rent bikes, ride horses, fish and so much more. A beautiful place to enjoy nature. Park entrance is not overpriced for a privately funded park. Some of the amenities such as the tram and bike rentals are a bit inflated however. In order to secure a spot in the Tram is is highly recommended to book ahead of time. The bikes are first come first serve so come early if you want your pick. The restaurant has one of the best brisket sandwiches I have ever had and the sundaes for dessert sure hit the spot after hiking outside all day. There are no food or drink spots along the almost 4 mile path so plan ahead before you start your day. My kids loved the little tree house and educational talk at the amphitheater. It is clear that much of the landscape is not organic, but it is still a beautiful place.

Spectacular, open year-round, but best in Late Spring, a brief period in fall when colors are changing, and if you're brave and want to bundle open, pretty in Winter especially after some snow.
We took the tram ride. It was well organized and highly informative and goes quite a ways back in the canyon. This place is a photographer's dream. We were lucky enough to have Bison right next to the tram at one point including babies. Saw other wildlife close up but I heard it's more common to see them at a distance so don't expect this to be a zoo-like experience.
The visitor center has incredible architecture and is fascinating to explore. The restaurant, albeit a little pricey, is worth the price for the above average food for a visitor's center and the spectacular waterfall views.
There's so much to do here. You can rent bikes or go fishing on your own or guided or even take a jeep tour. In the heat of the Summer though, the visit would be less enjoyable as you can't swim in any of the bodies of water in the park.

Beautiful. Must see. Tram tour was amazing and worth every penny. Totally relaxing. The scenery was breath taking. Our guide was great. Enjoyed the museum and gift shop as well. We wanted to eat at the restaurant, but it closed super early. I enjoyed this the most of everything we did in Branson.

AMAZING!!! Truly wonderful experience! The tram ride with Rachel as our tour guide was excellent! She’s knowledgeable, friendly and such a great host! Her personality & the love she has for her job is exceptional.
We ate at the restaurant and had Bri as our server. Service phenomenal, food fabulous. Cookie dessert is a MUST!
The tree house is so unique and interesting. Every little detail is special. If you have an opportunity Dogwood Canyon needs to be top on your list!!

This Nature park is beautiful. We rented bikes for about $15 each. The trail is 6.5 miles round trip, and there are several waterfalls to see. The grounds are mowed. You can eat at their restaurant. It looked like the average pricing for eating was $17-25. We didn't have time to eat because we spent so much time on the paved trail taking pictures. We saw a group that was taking a tour on their trams that got to stop and eat in a pavilion on the trail. There is also a chapel where you can get married. It was gorgeous overlooking a waterfall.

Beautiful place to spend the day! Be sure to get your tickets to the park and activities ahead of time, and on their website. The website is a little confusing, but worth the effort.
The entrance fee was worth the ability to walk the trails and see this beautiful place. Though I think I'd rent a bike.
Really enjoyed the horseback riding and the tram. It was elk rutting season, and the bull got a little close to the tram for us, but seeing the animals in the open was the highlight.
Highly recommend it and plan to go back!

My wife and I had an amazing time! The highlight of our day was the tram tour we took with Rick as our driver - je was knowledgeable, informative, and very entertaining!
We would recommend this place for anyone who enjoys nature!

Beautiful, beautiful park. Tons of waterfalls along a paved, easily accessible route. You can walk, rent a bike, bring your own bike, or ride the tram. We wanted to do a tram ride, but they don't run very many and were all sold out. Quite pricey to get in. It was $80 for our family of 4 and we were only able to go late in the afternoon so only had about 2 1/2 hours. Would like to go again and take the tram and also dine there.

What a wonderful place to visit! Definitely recommend taking the tram tour. Our experience with the bison and elk was definitely a close encounter. Our tram guide was excellent and had a lot of good information. He was very thoughtful of all the riders, too.
We ate lunch on the patio with the sound of the waterfall at our backs.
We will return again sometime!

Beautiful but can be crowded. I recommend going early in the morning if possible. Plenty of parking early but few spaces available by noon. I recommend making online reservations for the tram before arriving because space is limited. Prices we paid were higher than quoted online but the site does warn that pricing is flexible so I wasn't too surprised. The restaurant has a limited menu but the food was good but kind of expensive.

It was fascinating riding on the tram through the park and observing elk up close (superbly up close!) & also bisons & long horns. Superb commentary by tram driver-guide. Very beautiful nature park - where you can also cycle through. Well worth the time & tickets!

Love love love! Today was our first time at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park and we just added it to our “Must Do” list for when we vacation in Branson! The scenery was magnificent! We also did the horseback riding tour and rented bikes for additional fun! All of the staff were friendly and greeted us well. Our only wish is that we would have gotten there earlier to be able to see everything. We got there at 11:00 and they close at 4:00 today so we missed out on some stuff. You can easily spend the entire day there!

So beautiful and so much fun for the whole family. I went with a three year old and had a fantastic time. He walked the entire trail and enjoyed it! There was so much to see, it kept him entertained the whole time. With fairly level paved trails it was easy for him to navigate and there were little areas to go off the main path to see different interest points. It wasn’t crowded so he was able to explore at his own pace. Perfect for all ages and wheelchair accessible for most of the hike. There is also a tram for an additional cost if mobility is an issue. There are so many options for activities that you could come back several times and do something different each time. Look at the website for choices and prices. They also have a restaurant by the beautiful waterfall at the front of the park that we didn’t get to visit but it looks amazing.

We love Dogwood Canyon! We have been 3 times now. We always do the team tour however our next visit to Branson we are going to spend a day here walking the trails. Even though the trees are still brown, it was quite beautiful. I am going to find some of my green pictures to post too! It's so relaxing. Our tour guide was great. We had the same guy twice now. Definitely recommend spending a day out here when in Branson.

This park is a gorgeous place for a walk and to get out with family! We spent the morning walking the trail and enjoyed seeing all the nature, water features and serenity. It was a brisk 35 degree morning, and we walked the entire trail, and enjoyed every bit.
We saw both parent eagles, and their nest, and also saw a juvenile eagle near the nest!
The tram is an additional cost, but we feel that we were able to enjoy more of the park without tram.

Easily the best activity I did when visiting Missouri. This park is beautiful and well worth the admission. So many waterfalls and beautiful historic sites to see I recommend renting bikes and taking the 6 mile round trip trail to the end of the park. So much wildlife to see also!

Definitely won’t be back. My family and I spent $100 or so to just walk the trail. A huge chunk of the water was drained and giant pumps were running, there was no mention of maintenance on the website or anything. Then when we made it back to the falls and went down what appeared to us to be some rock steps and sat by the water on some large rocks, an employee on a golf cart made a special trip over to yell at us and lecture us for sitting there. We looked all around and there were no signs at all saying not to go down the steps, or not to sit there or anything so….I guess we were just supposed to know. We were having a decent visit before getting chewed out in front of other guests by employee man, but definitely didn’t have a good $100 walk of embarrassment back to the entrance. I only say we had a two star time instead of 1 because the guy that checked us in was very nice friendly.

This trip we decided to do the walking trails. We walked the full 6+ miles. These are lots of trails you can take off the main paved road. We did most of them. Dogwood Canyon is beautiful no matter what season it is when you go! We got the combo tickets for Dogwood Canyon & WOW. It was definitely worth it!
