Yellowstone National Park, a renowned park since 1872, is home to mountains, wildlife, and almost half of the world's active geysers. It is important for visitors to pack swimwear and sunscreen along with other necessities when visiting the park. However, they must also research beforehand which areas within the park allow swimming and adhere to those specific guidelines. Trespassing on off-limits spaces can result in hefty fines and legal complications.
Wonderful park, have spent a lot of time here. There are a lot of crowds during peak season especially leading up to an eruption of Old Faithful. If you visit, make sure to see more than just Old Faithful if u have time. There is so much more to this park than you would think!
Elijah Hoppe — Google review
We traveled to Old Faithful on our first day, stopping at the sights and completing one hike to a waterfall. The second day, we traveled the upper loop.
Be sure to start a smidge early and finish up before dinner. Bring twice the socks you wouldn't normally bring to change out of them once you're done hiking. If you are not from a higher elevation, have a can of oxygen on hand -- altitude sickness can hit after a couple of days, and even the town outside the park are at 6500+ ft.
There is generally no cell service. Download a map and music for your driving. Plan to extend any drive you take due to slower traffic or animals in the road.
Overall, it wasn't too crowded the first week of October. It was much cooler in the mornings and evenings, warranting a jacket, but midday allowed for just long sleeved shirts.
Many hikes are quite steep and not looped, so you'll need to climb back up from most of the trails you climb down.
Gas is outrageously priced both in the park and in the side towns.
Most of the geyser areas smell of strong sulfur.
Beautiful sights! Saw bison, elk, a coyote, ravens, and chipmunks.

Beautiful location, but absolutely HUGE! We made the decision to drive the entire grand loop and didn't realize it would be 100+ miles at 30 mph behind a line of cars. Still very beautiful! The Old Faithful visitor center was really nice with a good gift shop and bathrooms. They movie projector was broken, so we were sad we couldn't watch the film. We got a front row seat to see Old Faithful erupt and it was fabulous! We also walked across to the general store and bought egg and bacon sandwiches for breakfast and got a pressed penny. The prismatic spring and other geysers in the basin were also absolutely amazing! On the back side of the park, you drive through huge mountains and we saw snow in June. The Mammoth Springs area was the only disappointment. It was extremely overcrowded and expensive for a lunch cold sandwich. On the road out, we were in a very long traffic jam and once we got to the front, we saw a mother and baby bison walking in the roadway, which was a once in a lifetime experience! Overall, beautiful place, but we needed much more than a single day to explore!

From seeing old faithful spout, to bubbling mud pits, steamy geysers, wildlife (bison and bears), this national park is a Must See destination. Make sure your dogs are on leashes and your kids are not running around because although very beautiful, this trip can become dangerous if you wander off trail. I have visited this national park a few times, and it never fails to impress me.

Yellowstone National Park is a breathtaking masterpiece that defies description through photos alone. My visit left me in awe, and I can't emphasize enough how the park's true beauty unfolds when witnessed in person.
One of the highlights for me was encountering bison roaming freely in their natural habitat. It's an experience that surpasses any expectation. Yellowstone offers an array of diverse landscapes, each more stunning than the last, making it a must-visit destination.
For those planning a trip, I highly recommend visiting in the fall. The crowds are significantly smaller compared to the bustling summer months, allowing for a more intimate connection with nature. Additionally, staying inside the park is a game-changer. Whether it's cozy cabins or comfortable hotel rooms, the convenience enhances the overall experience.
The park's culinary offerings are also noteworthy. With great restaurants scattered throughout, you can savor delicious meals amidst the park's expansive beauty.
In essence, Yellowstone National Park is not just large; it's an immense canvas of true natural beauty that everyone should explore at least once in their lifetime.

Great place to visit. I flew in through Montana and it’s a wonderful city. I suggest renting a RV to navigate through the park. I drove a rental and had to back track every day to see all the amazing sites. The west entrance was the best!

Very beautiful. The wildlife are use to people but keep your distance. Geysers are everywhere. We were able to go right in and find a camp site. Lots of hiking trails. You can rent a boat if don't bring your own. Plenty of gas stations and stores with anything you could need. My favorite area is the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. I could not believe how large the Gorge is and how beautiful the waterfall is. There are many waterfalls throughout the park. I enjoyed seeing the fields of many colors with flowers and grasses.

Such a memorable trip. Remember to come prepared, respect the nature, and be mindful of travel times! I would highly recommend a GPS system of some sort as cell phone service out here is spotty. I traveled through opening week and some roads were not open, which is okay! It was still an absolutely breathtaking trip. Highly recommend taking loved ones on this amazing trip. Definitely plan for a 2-3 day trip if possible. There is so much to see. I personally mounted a go pro to my windshield for the views and insurance purposes. The wildlife is very spontaneous. I had a bison come in front of my vehicle, but just remember to stay calm and give them space. We are in their home! Safe travels and I hope you enjoy your trip!

Beautiful scenery, easily one of the best national parks I have been to. You can take hundreds of photos here, and all of them turn up to be perfect. I would definitely recommend a week here to explore the park
Nathan Putland — Google review
There’s so much to see and do here! You can easily spend a week seeing everything. I felt as though the lower loop had more to see and do if you’re in a rush. The main points to hit are the Grand Prismatic and Old Faithful. There is a great view of the Grand Prismatic if you drive a little further north of it and park. There’s a trail that breaks off the parking lot and goes up the mountain to view the Grand Prismatic from above! Also keep in mind that Old Faithful goes off every 90min (+/- 10 min), so you may be waiting a little while there. They have a great visitor center in walking distance of it and a cafeteria though while you wait.
There are great sights and wildlife here! Expect to travel slowly in the park from wildlife crossing the roadways (often bison) and people also stopping and slowing down to view wildlife.
We saw two grizzly bears (and even had cubs run out in front of us one night), many herds of bison, and plenty of elk. The best time to view them is early morning and near sunset!

We visited Yellowstone National Park this Autumn and it was one of the best experiences of life. The park is huge, beautiful, and full of amazing natural wonders. We saw geysers, hot springs, waterfalls, canyons, lakes, and mountains. The hot springs which I added some pictures of them, were so great. The weather was super cold, but we felt a cosy warmth as we walked. The vapour from the springs caressed our faces like a gentle kiss, which was so delightful.
If you see the blue and clear water, mind that they are extremely hot that they may exceed the boiling point (some were 280° F). The darker the water, the cooler the water will be.
We also saw a lot of wildlife, such as bison, elk, bears, wolves, and eagles. The park staff was friendly and helpful, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained.
We also enjoyed some hiking, biking, rafting, and fishing activities. There was so much to see and do that I wish I had more time to explore. Yellowstone is truly a national treasure and a must-see destination for anyone who loves nature and adventure.
I highly recommend visiting this park and I can't wait to go back again.

An incredible experience. We went in the summer, so it was very crowded. We saw a lot of wildlife, hot springs, waterfalls, and geysers. It was so easy to travel in a RV. The land scape was very beautiful. Mammoth Hot spring, Lamar Valley, The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone were some of the places I enjoyed the most. We had a wonderful family time there and can’t wait to go back again.

Of all the National Parks in the US, Yellowstone has got to be one of the biggest crown jewels of them all. Every inch of this park has something amazing to see - geysers, hot pots, diverse animal wildlife, so many kinds of plants and flowers and grasses, majestic mountains, vast and clear lakes with bustling life - Yellowstone is one of the ultimate national park experiences of a lifetime.
Regardless of whether or not you choose to go hiking, go prepared as if you are because there is so much to see and a ton of walking to get there. Have and drink plenty of water wear good shoes, come with sunscreen and hats and the proper clothes. And leave the animals alone!! They may be used to the presence of us humans there, but they have big personal bubbles and they absolutely will tell you when you've popped it. The people who work with the national park service are good about sending you a different direction if there's an animal on the trails, and listen to them when they tell you to go around! These animals are gorgeous but they don't mess around.
In addition to that, stay on designated trails! If you step off the path you don't risk just damaging wildlife but you also risk finding a secret little hole where a hot pot is brewing. If it's not on the boardwalk, don't step on it.
With safety tips in mind, this really is one of the most incredible places to visit. Go see and enjoy one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Yellowstone National Park is very beautiful park and full of wonders!!I It is located in the western United States, largely in the northwest corner of Wyoming and extending into Montana and Idaho. The total area is
2,219,791 acres (8,983.18 km2)。Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful! You will see animals in the park easily . Pack your snacks and water, it’s a great self driving destination!

Yellowstone is amazing. Lamar valley was closed while I was there so I guess I'll have to go back. The park has so much to offer, easy trails to advanced. The wildlife was everywhere, the scenery was spectacular. You can see mountains, valleys, plains, forests, and active geological areas that look alien. The visitor centers are worth a stop too.

An amazing and historical part of the US that everyone ought to visit at least once. Definitely can be seen driving through in a day or two but also is great for a longer trip. It cools down a lot at night there due to the elevation so be prepared if you are camping and please follow the rules about staying back from the animals. 🌞

A must see. But a bit heavy on the rules side.
Yellowstone National Park is undoubtedly a must-see destination for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. The breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife make it an unforgettable experience. However, it’s essential to be aware that the park does have some strict rules and regulations that visitors should keep in mind.
One helpful tip to make the most of your visit is to pay attention to large groups of people looking in the same direction. This is often a clear indication that there’s something exciting to see, like bears, elk, or even wolf sightings. Being observant can lead to incredible wildlife encounters and enhance your overall park experience.
If you want to shower, upstairs at “the lodge” the open bathrooms have nice showers in the back. You’re unlikely to get stopped from using those.
Overall, Yellowstone National Park offers an awe-inspiring adventure with its geysers, hot springs, and diverse wildlife. Just be prepared to follow the rules and regulations, and you’ll be rewarded with a truly memorable experience in one of the most remarkable natural wonders on Earth.

The south entrance is where the geysers & old faithful are located. It is an experience to see earth breathing smoke & boiling mud. The trails are well marked & I hiked them on a rainy day. They had some color but not as defined as a lot of the photos I have seen. This is where the amazing waterfalls are located. They have done wonderful work in using the wood, rocks & stones in the walking paths. It definitely adds beauty to the already beautiful natural landscaping.
Old Faithful did not give us a big blow! I don’t know if the weather has an effect but it was a lame blow.
The north side has more of the wild animals, I saw deer, elk, long horn sheep & lots of buffalo. There are hiking trails going into the woods which I didn’t venture to hike because the weather was unpredictable & there are a lot of buffalo roaming the woods.

This is a huge park with lots of interesting places to visit.
Lamar valley has herds of bison grazing and crossing the roads.
Ole Faithful is awesome. Great affordable restaurant at the visitor center there. Interesting trails to watch and learn about the volcanic activities. Mammoth is a wonderful place to stay.

Probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. Absolutely changed me. Since my visit I still find it surreal. It’s a place everyone should experience. But, you should also respect it and the animals. Pictures are great! Just take them from afar. This is not a zoo. If you are on limited time, you can do that entire loop around the park in a day. The downfall is you can’t stay in one spot for too long. The visitor center is a must see. Take your time there for sure. And Old Faithful was a sight to see!
Eddie Smith — Google review
This place is quite majestic and there’s so much to see here. From Old Faithful, other geysers to hot springs, snow (depending on when you go), bears (saw a black bear and cubs from a very safe distance with binoculars) to Buffalo coming right up to you (don’t even think about trying to pet!) if you believe certain scientific communities it could rupture soon 😬 but it’s a must see landmark on a cross country road trip.

Seriously one of the best times of my life. Amazing in every way: incredible water falls, geothermals, lakes, and so much wildlife - a bison was grazing 20 ft from our adventure van.

Yellowstone is a very pretty park and reasonably easy to access various sites. Several of the key view points have easy to walk paths. I stayed 2 nights in a campsite located inside the park. The camp was clean and enjoyable. I was able to visit a period where it was not incredibly busy, but I believe the park has had a large uptick in visitors since I went. This may be a con if you want to visit more quiet and serene areas.
But overall it's a very gorgeous and in an incredible place, definitely worth a visit.

Yellowstone is one of the most beautiful places on Earth! There's so much to see and explore, and so many natural wonders that truly boggle the mind. Millions of people visit in the summer, but this park really shines in the winter when there are hardly any people and you have the park almost all to yourself. There's a certain magical quality to seeing everything shrouded in snow, and the juxtaposition of the heat and steam of the thermal features against the cold of winter makes for a really cool visual. There are few things in life that don't disappoint when you finally experience them, and Yellowstone is definitely one of those things.

I was here back in mid October, was a exceptional national park. It has many different environments mountains, lush forests, and coastal beaches in the west coast, all of which are well worth exploring. It involves a lot of driving to get around the park it’s huge n ya have to drive around the perimeters to get anywhere, the Mountain View’s we’re my favorite but it’s highly debatable, the coast n forests might be a better bet in the winter, such a short drive from Seattle this park offers a little bit of everything highly recommend.

Wonderful experience. The visitors centres receive warmly and are very helpful and guide each one to suit their taste and capacity. Everywhere you can see huge trees. Tree shades help you in refreshing you. Almost all trails are well defined and directed. However restrooms are very limited. Very few restaurants. Entrance by car on weekends and holidays , may have to wait a lot of time. Better to be early birds, so that you can enter without wait time. Summer time will be more enjoyable.

One of the best and most diverse national parks in the United States. From mountains, to waterfalls, to rain forests, to the ocean! The beauty of this park is unreal. I recommend taking your time exploring because there are a ton of great trails and views scattered throughout the different areas. We spent 2 days here and saw most of the popular attractions. You could easily spend 3 days though. Make sure to map out your trip as the entire park is huge. There’s not a lot of cell service, so I suggest downloading Google Maps beforehand. September is a great time to visit! It’s not as crowded as the summer months, but you still have a chance for sun and warmer temperatures.

Beautiful park. We explored ruby beach and beach 4. Both offered beautiful scenic views and places to explore. Beach 4 has tide pools and we found awesome creatures. We were unable to visit the hall of mosses due to the 2 hour wait time. Even then, Olympic did not disappoint.

A Park Unlike Any Other
The northeast coast has to be one of the most stunning and beautiful places in this country. The beaches and forest are just jaw-dropping.
The park is made of a bunch of entry points into the park with some being more popular than others. Hurricane Ridge and Hoh Rainforest are the top most visited. We either went in before 6am or after 4pm with no issue on crowds.
The 101 is not much of a scenic drive until you hit the coast.
Before going anywhere check their website. The park has been battered with weather and fires causing sections of the park to be closed for days at a time.

Amazing national park with so much diversity in landscapes! We were able to climb to the top of mountain ridges, see the sunset over the beach/ocean and wander through the humid jungle/forest landscape.
Highly recommend: Hurricane Ridge Trail. Note: if you're going during the weekdays, they have the road to the trailhead closed off to traffic (it's open on weekends though) so we had to hike an additional 1.5 mile each way from the visitor center parking lot to the trailhead. This made the hike that's usually 3 miles, a 6 mile roundtrip hike. It's quite a steep hike but the views are worth it!
Also recommend Rialto Beach and just hanging on the beach around sunset! Beautiful beach for dogs, kids, skipping rocks, reading a book etc.
Not so recommend: we weren't super blown away by Marymere Falls, Lake Crescent or Hoh Rainforest. They were definitely beautiful but paled in comparison to the other sights Olympic had to offer. If you only had time for one, I would recommend the Hoh Rainforest.

Just beautiful in all the seasons we have seen there! If you want something different, definatley the route to go. You never know what you will find! Plenty of camping options.

A ton of Americans have no idea that there is a rainforest in Washington (or even in the US), but tucked away in the corner of the state is a veritable wilderness of lush forests covered in moss and towered over by Sitka spruce trees - some around 800 years old.
The mountains are breathtaking the first time you see them, so impossibly massive it feels like they may just swallow you whole. Driving over the floating bridge will catch you off guard even if you’re prepared for it, especially during the winter when the mountains are cloaked in white.
You are submersed in dense forest almost everywhere in this region. The forest floors are soft soil, pine needles, and ferns. Fallen trees gather moss, fungi, and fascinating wildlife, like the banana slug. Herds of elk are often seen grazing and black bears browse the black berry patches. Those black berries are amazing.
All of this is perched on cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, where a walk on the beach can feel otherworldly in the early morning fog. Tide pools teem with thousands of sea anemones and the sea star population flourishes. If you are really lucky, you may see one of the many species of whale, porpoise or dolphin that navigate the shores on migration, or a seal or sea otter hunting for a meal in the waves. Each beach is different, with completely new and amazing things to discover. Tiny life in every inch, you just need to slow down and look.
The human population is drastically smaller than the Seattle-Tacoma area, and that’s the best part. This is the best place to seek restorative solitude and or explore the endless trails through the forests and mountains without your feet even touching pavement. The climate here is comfortable year round, parts remaining verdant and lush through the coldest of months. It is truly one of the greatest treasures that this country has to offer, unlike anywhere else in the world.

Best stops along Rapid City to Vancouver drive
The top stops along the way from Rapid City to Vancouver (with short detours) are Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Crazy Horse Memorial, and Old Faithful. Other popular stops include Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Devils Tower National Monument, and Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center.
The Crazy Horse Memorial, located on Highway 385, is an expansive mountain carving and museum complex. The sculpture was started in 1948 by Korczak Ziolkowski, with his children continuing the work today. While still unfinished, visitors can explore the Welcome Center and Native American Museum of North America. Additionally, there is a Cultural Center and sculptor's workshop to visit, as well as opportunities to purchase native artwork and crafts during the summer months.
I'm so glad we stopped here. The monument itself is impressive in scale, and I was surprised at the extensive museum. You could easily spend several hours here.
Lots of parking, clean restrooms, and a restaurant on site.
To get into the park you'll pay by the carload. If you'd like to get closer you spend a few dollars per person to take a quick bus ride up closer. Everyone got off the bus so we could take pictures and learn more about the sculpture and sculptor. 30 min total which was worth it.
If you want to get really close you'll need to pay over $100 pp and those tours are very limited so check ahead.
One thing to note: according to our guide, because of advances in technology, they really are hoping to finish in 5 to 10 years. I'm so glad we got to see this sculpture in process and hope to return upon completion. I'm glad we got to donate toward the project, too.
Totally worth a stop!

Great memorial to see if you're already in the area to check out Mount Rushmore (if you are in the area for a different reason as well, but I'm going to guess 99.9999% of you are in the area to see Mount Rushmore). It would be cool if this memorial ever gets finished, but based on what they told us it's a long shot where funding is concerned. There's always hope, but, "it's the hope that kills you" (-Ted Lasso). Definitely cool to check out and a nice sculpture to pay homage to South Dakotans.

This is one of the most incredible stops that you can make. The entire experience is Crazy Horse experience is mesmerizing. You need a minimum of 2 hours, but plan on a half a day of you want to take it all in. There is obviously the monument that they are carving into the mountain, but there are informational documentary movies, and the best Native American museum I've ever seen.
They also provide entertainment including native American dancers that share their culture and take questions from the audience. That was one of the most informational sessions on Native American culture I have every had!
There is also a nice family style restaurant and cafe on site.
There is also commentary over night RV parking in a lot just outside the entrance road.

If you get a chance to visit crazy horse monument I 100% recommend it. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The museums were interesting and very educational, we really enjoyed the Bearsheart Family show. The gift shop was well stocked with anything you could want to purchase. The area is easily accessible, not very many stairs. The most walking we had to do was from the parking lot to the center. Everyone at the center was very kind and courteous. We definitely want to visit again.

Was a grand monument. Quite the endeavor. Was totally in awe. Would love to come back. But blessed to have had the chance to see it at least once. Definitely take the tour. A plus on the tour guild.

The history of this monument is fascinating. The story of the monument, the people who started and continue to work on it and the philanthropy for native communities today makes this worthwhile for a visit. Bring your kids and maybe one day they'll bring their kids to see more and more of the monument. There's a $12 entrance fee to the compound and also an optional $5 to get closer which I didn't have time for. Check with them before you go so you can time it well.

I enjoyed our visit very much. It was better than I expected. There’s a great educational video at the beginning and many interesting exhibits. We rode the bus up to the base of the monument and it showed the massive scale of the project. We visited Mt. Rushmore afterwards and my kids all said afterwards that they preferred Crazy Horse, which I thought was interesting and unexpected.

This memorial and cultural teaching center will continue to grow. The history of the driving force to build this monumental sculpture AND construct a educational center and cultural assemblage for the native tribes is very well documented and easy to understand. The views are fantastic! The feelings and goals are alive and well. The goal of completion is still far off but the message is very clear. The minimal costs or $30.00 for 2 people and a car worth supporting this effort. You can even receive a reenter pass good for 3 days to return again.

I would recommend someone to visit it more to understand and to get feel of native American culture and how they used to live earlier rather than for monument. Monument is too far from viewing deck and you cannot go near it. However, museum was very beautiful showcasing native American artefacts, culture, etc. Also, local performance and dances were very nice.

We went for the mountain but it was SO much more! Start with the film, don't miss the bus tour (100% worth it!) take in a show and then walk through all the museum exhibits. We spent an incredible morning and probably could have stayed longer. It is a tale of what the love of one's heritage (Chief Standing Bear) and the legacy of one family can do. We were awed by the experience, and we are already planning to return.

It's amazing how much it has grown and what has been accomplished, (not just in the mountain but also with the university, etc.) since I started visiting as a child. This year we did the story tellers tour up to the finished area. It was well worth the donation.

I was very impressed with my experience here. There was a5 dollar bus tour--very short, but worth it. We were able to experience a presentation and dances by a native, who also told us some very good history. The visitors center here is large--plan extra time to see it all or plan to miss some of it. I am in awe of the effort to create this memorial and to keep it in the hands of the local native Americans rather than using the state or federal government. My respect for them is much greater and my compassion for the things they went through at the hands of the white man is much more real.. I would visit here again just to experience the spirit of the monument.

Well worth the time and effort to see gives a person. A whole new perspective of the Native Americans. Plan on at least 4 hours if not more. And definitely take the bus tour. The restaurant was fantastic. I had the bison stew. Well worth the price. Overall, as an average white male American, very humbling experience.

The scale of the project is enormous! Hope to see it finished in the future. The entire complex offers views of Crazy Horse. Did not take the bus ride to get closer but the museum, gift shop, theatre, and viewing areas were worth the visit. The cost was around $20-$25 for an all day pass.

A must see place if you are in south Dakota, would suggest visiting mt Rushmore first and then crazy horse to be able to imagine and understand the scope of this and the time and effort it would take for the
Completion i think that is what this
Place signifies .. “time”
My Second visit after a decade, bit was still amazed. Its a nice Place to know about a lot of native American culture and has a wonderful collection of artifacts.

It is going to be spectacular when finished. We were able to see his face. His pointing arm is taking shape. You can see the outline of the horse marked on the mountain. The sculptors home, and workshop is part of the entry fee. There is a bus tour priced separately ($4) to get a closer view. *We were told the van tours take you up so you can walk on the arm ($125) A restaurant is on site.

I found this to be much more interesting than Mount Rushmore. They take you on a bus ride up and give you a guided tour along with the story. They also have a theater room where you can watch a movie about the family. Also an excellent Museum to tour. This place was spectacular. Price you pay to get in is more than worth it. It's awesome this place is privately funded and the money goes to help them.

I visited Crazy Horse 20 years ago and saw only the face was carved out.
Now fast-forward 20 years and only difference is some of the base, part of the mane and hand has been completed.
If only the support, funding, and commitment to completing The Crazy Horse memorial was met with the same enthusiasm as Mount Rushmore was completed back in their timeline...
I was assigned to C Troop 1/3 Armored Calvary Regiment (ACR) and our unit was named after Crazy Horse, I was surprised to see nothing in the museum mentioned about our unit honoring Crazy Horse?
I was hoping that the Crazy Horse memorial would have been finished in my lifetime, especially now that I am over 50.

$12 for only me. They don’t give receipts at the entry gate. I did expect to be able get close to the mountain. You can’t. You’re going to be at least a mile or so away. I was disappointed . I found out that the sculpture has been in the works for 75 yrs. This may be an over-ambitious task. I don’t think I’d go back cause that sculpture is never going to be done in this lifetime. I did think the museum was really nice. Especially if you’re interested in the Native American culture. They did tell me that the gift shop Indian artifacts are hand made and authentic. I bought some things that they said were from the Navajo Nation. I hope they’re real. Wouldn’t know though.

Crazy Horse Memorial is amazing!
There is much to do there; world class artwork, shopping, a huge restaurant, history abounds, videos of carving a mountain, walking paths, shuttles that can take you close to the top of the mountain when safe.

The cost was $12 per person. To take a closer look, $5 per person for a bus ride. Like a school bus, but with only 10-12 rows of seats. (It truly flashed me back to my school days riding a metal bus with bouncy seats). The driver was very informative and interesting. The tour included a brief history (with pictures) of how the Crazy Horse sculpture became fruition.
Along with seeing the sculpture, there is a beautiful, fairly large museum filled with artifacts, artwork, and history.
An expansive gift shop filled with local artists' sculptures, paintings, etc, along with the usual t shirts_hoodies, magnets, and postcards. All were reasonably priced for a gift shop, IMO.

Beautiful monument and museum. Very handicap accessible for my grandma who came with us, and the staff was so kind and accommodating to her.
The staff members were all so kind and knowledgeable.
The observation deck was really cool to experience.

Absolutely spectacular memorial. The story and history is like nothing else. The size and scope of the project is quite impressive - to think that all of Mount Rushmore can fit inside just the head of Crazyhorse, is unbelievable. Last I visited, you could pay or bring canned goods for admission. I love this magical place.

Native owned and funded. Still in the process of carving this beautiful memorial to honor the tribes of Native America. Get a short history lesson and learn a little about the tribes of the area. Watch as it develops into something amazing by visiting more than once. The bus ride to the site was an extra $5 a person but I enjoyed it. I wish I could have afforded the van tour to the top.

Fun stop on my road trip through the area. It was foggy when I went but the views were still nice. The museum has tons of artifacts and information. There was an older woman in the gift shop who was extremely informative and friendly! I wish I would’ve gotten her name. She gave me a map and suggestions about stops in the area, and she was nice and made sure to take extra care in wrapping the piece of pottery I bought since she knew I was traveling.

This was a cool experience. The video was very informative and it was nice to learn about something I never knew existed. I will be following this memorial to see the progress in the coming years. Bus tickets are $5. This is a dog friendly attraction. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant or on the bus. Dogs can not walk on the wood floors of the visitor center and museum and must be carried. I have a small dog and had no issues carrying her around on the wood floors. It was cool they also have free rocks that are part of the crazy Horse progress. $12 for an adult to get in (off season pricing).
Jewel Cave National Monument is a historic site that features over 170 miles of trails, lantern tours, and opportunities to view wildlife. Visitors can explore the fascinating cave system with its colorful walls and unique formations. However, due to the ongoing elevator renovation, only two tours are currently available: Discovery tour and Lantern tour. Despite this limitation, visitors have praised the ranger guide for their extensive knowledge about the cave during these tours.
Incredible tour of gorgeous caves. This is the 4th cave we have visited and it is unique and beautiful. It is easy to see how it got it's name. We did the scenic tour which was a little pricy for a National Monument ($16 ea) but worth it. We were able to purchase our tickets online but there was no discount for holders of the senior lifetime pass but it is easy to see the investments they have made to this site. New elevators and metal walkways/steps are a big upgrade from other caves we have visited. I highly recommend seeing this cave if you have a chance.

My husband and I went on a tour today it was over an hour long and amazing! The tour guide had so much knowledge and really took his time to explain everything!!! It was also a great workout 🏋️♀️ 🤣 lots of stairs. This was our top favorite experience. Highly recommend! It’s a must see! We will be bringing our kids next time 🥰.
No masks required. A few people wore 😷 masks. Would recommend good walking shoes and a sweatshirt or jacket. Nothing is allowed into the cave ( no maps / info sheets / water ) they have bathrooms before you enter. They are trying to protect the caves natural habitat so some rules apply. Light trails around the area checks these out very pretty 🤩

I did the Garden of Eden tour and wish I had time for more! It is a very easy walk with only a few sections that have stairs / are not flat. There is so much history here, and I appreciated that during the tour, Lakota history was included as it is a sacred place for many. The short loop above the caves was so beautiful and worth the walk even in the winter.

Gotta go see it. How can you skip on the 3rd longest tunnel system in the world? Let your kids get their junior ranger badges. Scenic tour is great, but don't expect to be able to stop and take a lot of photos as there are a lot of stairs. Enjoy the moment as you are in it with your friends and family.

Note: Be sure to visit the historical site to see the original cave opening. It's just down the hill and is free. Be certain that you get there early or make reservations during peak season because tours fill up quick. We arrived at 1pm and tours were sold out for the day which is 5:30pm and that includes the 20 min mini tours. Note, no cellular service here. Has a nice video about the creation and exploration of the cave system. Has a cave science museum section of the information office.

Loved the cave! Such a cool experience...both literally and figuratively. Cave is a constant 49 degrees. Plan to wear a hoodie or jacket. Anything you bring in must fit in your pockets. Our tour guide for the 8:20 tour on 6/7/23 was knowledgeable about the cave. However, he would greatly benefit from some staff development in public speaking. I don't mean to sound unkind. He, like many people, don't speak loudly, clearly, or concisely enough when speaking to groups. "Um" should be eliminated from your vocabulary when in these situations. Aside from that, I do highly recommend visiting Jewel Cave! It's fascinating!

A beautiful stop for our family. Our guide Ranger Megan was excellent and we learned so much but we were not overwhelmed by the information, it was delivered at the right level and te right tone. Our tour lasted for an hour and a half, so just perfect to keep the kids attention.
I was worried about the 734 stairs up and down but it went really well. We are an active family and we found that the pace relax, there were many stops to learn about different rooms and you get plenty of time to “recover” to climb the next flight of stairs. At the lowest point, we were at 380 feet below the surface, really cool! The highlight was when Ranger Megan close the “lights” for a few minutes for the group to feel what is like in the dark…it was pitch black and we kept silence for a minute to listen to the water dropping and it was a neat experience. For 48$ for the family, an amazing deal!

Limited tours are available daily. Took a weekday Scenic Tour, which is guided and lasted 1 and a half hours. Adult tickets are $16, youth $8, and under 5 free. This is a tour that requires climbing and descending several flights of stairs, low ceilings and navigating narrow winding passages. Now, all this may make you ask why Jewel Cave? This was the most interesting cave tour I have ever taken. Brad was not only interesting, he was knowledgeable and pointed out the highlights and history of the cave. There are large open rooms that facilitated the exchange of information and allowed photo opportunities. An elevator will take you 240' down to the cave floor and return you 260' at the end to the visitor center. Well worth the time and money!

Bob was an excellent guide on our discovery tour. Very friendly and funny as well. I enjoyed the visitor center. The cave decor is wonderful and I loved learning about the bats on the interactive screens. I got a passport stamp as well! I even got to see a couple big horn sheep near the parking lot. The bathroom was clean and I loved the smell of the hand soap!!

During our visit we took the Discovery tour, this and the Lantern tour are the only two tours available because the park is renovating the elevator. (August 2021) Although the tour was short, it gave us a glimpse of the world below. The cave is fascinating with many colors and formations decorating the walls of the cave. Our ranger guide was excellent, enjoyed her knowledge of the cave during the whole tour. Giving this 4 stars only because of the elevator renovation, it is definitely a 5star location, just giving myself something to look forward to in the future.

By far, the scenic tour at Jewel Cave was WAY better than Wind Cave. The pace was good, the formations - AMAZING. And the size of the cavernous rooms - stunning. If you only have time to do one of the caves in the Black Hills, make it this one. But make reservations ahead of time! We didn't, so we actually made two trips to the park, making it on the second tour of the day. Your reservations must be made 48+ hours in advance.

We visited November 9th. There must have been 4 cars in the lot when we arrived. Off-season is the way to go, if the weather cooperates 😉
The visitor center is informative and well set out. We had reservations thru the recreation.cov site. We did both the tours, the Discovery and Scenic tour. First covers more history and second a walk thru the caves. If you have been to Carlsbad or Mammoth caves you may be underwhelmed. But, this is an entirely different geological setting. These caves, though formed by dissolving the local limestone were re-coated with calcite crystals, everywhere!
Lots of stairs and viewing platforms on the longer tour. But the pace is easy and the tour guides are informative. Narrow passages and hudge cathedral rooms to encounter.
We also explored the Canyon Trail. Visited the original entrance and CCC cabin. If you can arrive early do the trail, 3+ miles. Amazing canyon and you may see some wildlife.

we really enjoyed jewel cave, especially since our tour of wind cave was cancelled due to elevator issues. our ranger led scenic tour was very informative and fun! there are a lot of steps, though mostly going down and plenty of stopping to rest and take photos. jewel cave truly is a jewel of a place! interesting history and geology!! i highly recommend getting your tickets for the tours ahead of time online rather than showing up day of. when we went to check in to our tour, it was the first one offered so we got there right when they opened and there was a massive line to buy tickets day of and we heard they then sold out! i am not surprised as the tours are excellent and small groups as to minimize disruption.

Jewel Cave was a really great stop for my family. There were five of us, two adults and three kids (14, 11, 9)- we had no issues with the quantity of steps and stairs, which are about 700, however are 60% down and 40% going up and not all at once but in manageable chunks (according to our ranger). The Scenic Tour lasts for 1.5 hours and was enchanting. All the different cave formations and passages were really amazing to see. If you are able, then I would definitely choose the Scenic Tour over the Discovery Tour as the DT only goes to the first large room in the cave while the ST goes throughout different areas. I would love to do the lantern Historic Tour if we ever return but that is only offered in the summer so wasn't an option for us.
Book your tour online ahead or you will be waiting in a very long line to get tickets, if you can get them at all.
Michael York — Google review
The cave itself was great, although it's not exactly the gorgeous stuff you see in the videos.
Points:
1. Our ranger (Jeffrey?) didn't seem like he wanted to be there that day. If you can't answer questions (O2 content 400' below surface? Seismic recordings?) at least follow up on the surface with a geologist.
2. Tour rangers should not only be able to answer questions about THIS cave, but show interest in cave geology in general. Our guide said it wasn't his job to know anything about other caves.
3. Too many people per tour. The folks at the end couldn't hear our ranger at all.
4. There were folks on our tour who were in poor physical condition and struggled with the gazillion steps.
5. If you're in good shape you will actually enjoy and appreciate the steps.
The tour was priced fairly.
IMPORTANT: Get there early enough to watch the video BEFORE you take the tour. No reservations required for the 22 minute video, which was very informative

Mount Moriah Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Deadwood Gulch that holds the graves of prominent figures from the Old West. It is open to the public for a small fee, and includes names such as Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane.
We ended our trip to Deadwood coming here to pay respect to all of the people that have passed. The walk up to Seth and Martha's burial is well worth it. Very peaceful.

No fee to enter during off-season! I went at the beginning of November. It was cool to walk around and see the history. Of course, you have to check out the few famous Graves as well. There's a hike up a steep hill if you want to see Seth's grave. There were a lot of deer, turkey, chipmunks, and squirrels throughout at 9 am. I don't know anything about Wild Bill, but I enjoy cemeteries, and it was nice to go for a walk here. I surprisingly spent about 1.5 hours here. It's not good for handicapped as it's a lot of hills. Not walker/wheelchair friendly. I'm curious what the stack of rocks up by Seth's grave is for. Also, I didn't like that people were placing rocks all over the headstones. Makes the place look very messy.

Great stop to connect with some of the legends of the old west... Make sure to check out the visitor center as it has some neat historical items on display and interesting info. Its also better to visit earlier in the day as the parking area is kinda small so best to catch it before it fills up. I'm glad that I made the longer trek up the hill to visit the Bullocks burial area.

The cemetery was WAY bigger than I expected! Be prepared for a lot of uphill hiking (especially if you plan on going to Seth Bullock's grave). You definitely could spend many hours here if you want to explore the whole thing. Great overlook of the city of Deadwood and the gulch.

This cemetery holds a lot of the history for Deadwood. Most people go just to see where Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane are buried, but there’s so much more then that. It explains how scarlet fever, smallpox, and diphtheria came through the town and killed a lot of children. They also explain about the Chinese buried there. Inside the little gift shop is more history of the cemetery.
Michele Stroud — Google review
Very steep walk, but absolutely worth it in good weather. Wild Bill and Calamity Jane are near the bottom, but don't miss all of the other gorgeous and historical grave sites higher up. Seth Bullock is quite a hike, up a non paved, non maintained path, but extremely lovely and peaceful once you get there.

If you get the privilege to visit Deadwood, the Mount Moriah Cemetery is a must visit. Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane are buried there. These two along with Seth Bullock were instrumental in establishing Deadwood as a legendary mining town. The Black Hills National Forest is a beautiful backdrop.

Came here to see Wild Bill & Calamity Jane’s graves. It’s well maintained and the views of the city are nice so we heard. (Didn’t hike all the way up) It’s $2 to get in and it’s a short hike (maybe 5 mins) to their stones.

Fantastic staff and only $2 per person to visit. Wild Bill and Calamity Jane graves are just a short walk up from the entrance. Seth Bullock's grave is a much longer walk up a hill.

It costs $2 a person to enter. There are a few main attraction celebrity gravesites. It is quite steep hiking up and down the cemetary as it is indeed on the side of a mountain. The trail to Seth Bullock's grave will lead you all the way to the top. I definitely recommend going all the way up as the scenery from the top overlooking Deadwood is beautiful.
Orion Maier — Google review
While visiting Deadwood you must visit Mount Moriah Cemetery where Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok are buried. I would not suggest trying to walk to the cemetery from Historic Old Town. The cemetery is a the top of a very steep hill overlooking the town. One of the people at the visitor’s center told me that even the people in the very best condition have found it extremely difficult. So, cemetery visitors should drive up the steep curvy road to the small park lot and visitors center. Parking is very limited but once you find a parking spot, make your way to the small visitors center where I paid the $2.00 fee for a map to use for the self-guided tour. You must walk when touring the cemetery and it is rather hilly, but the Graves of Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok are just a short walk from the entrance gate. If you have the time, use the map from the visitors center to explore some of the other notable graves in this cemetery including Seth Bullock who was sheriff of Deadwood. Also, most people just come to visit the graves of Calamity Jane and Wild Bill, but if you continue a little farther toward the flagpole you come to a very nice veterans memorial and an overlook that give you a very nice view of the Town of Deadwood below. All total I spent about 90-minutes walking around the cemetery. I was able to visit many of the graves on the map. If you just want to visit Calamity Jane and Wild Bill’s grave, you can certainly accomplish this in as little as 30-minutes. But there is so much history here you should probably allow at least an hour to see some of the other sites here. A visit to Mount Moriah Cemetery is a must for anyone coming to Deadwood and the $2.00 fee and map are well worth it.

Deadwood is a lively old town with a history stretching back to the early 1800s. The architecture and layout of the historic district are reminiscent of Wild West movie sets, complete with wide streets lined with shops and restaurants. The fun atmosphere and interesting history make it an unforgettable destination for visitors.
Loved Deadwood! So much history and so many things to see. We stayed there for a weekend the end of April and it was not enough time to even begin to do everything I'd like to do. It's definitely one of those towns that you could come back to many times and still not see everything. Quaint, charming and full of history. Friendly people, great vibes! PS - The last weekend in April was a great time to go because they had lower pre-season rates on hotels and the weather was beautiful. There's a lot more activity in the summer with lots of shows in the streets etc but for a 1st time visit, April was a wonderful time to go.

It was a bit difficult finding parking in Deadwood on our first visit. One public parking said closed, but it had cars in it, some didn’t seem to say anything and we weren’t sure where we’d have dinner. We ended up parking further away than we wanted, but it was a public parking where we could figure out how to pay for the parking.
We went into one of the first casino/hotels that we found and were going to have dinner there, but they couldn’t get us in until 9 pm (2 hours later) and the same with the buffet. In spectacular news, we got reservations at Snitches on OpenTable! We walked to Tin Lizzie’s, had an amazing meal, and rolled ourselves back to our car. Snitches is our new high expectations for what a steak should be and the price was awesome. We probably should have taken the $1/person shuttle to Tin Lizzie’s, but it was a good walk and we got to play tourist a little.
There were many Pokemon Go stops/gyms along the main drag.

A Casino Town with a splash of history. Not sure I would bring young children here. Heavy drinking, gambling in your face at every storefront. Many men sans wives playing biker boys. Just saying...
We did enjoy our stay, but recommend side trips to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial which were an easy drive from our hotel. One day would have been enough for us.

In its liveliness, Deadwood presents itself in first-class taste of the western frontier that gives you a feel of the years, way back to its establishment, all the way through to today. Old fashioned saloons, reenactments, original buildings, and artifacts line Main Street from top to bottom. There isn't anything short of fine dining and great eats here. Most notable are Mavericks, Mustang Sally's and the Social Club above Saloon 10. However, there isn't anything to present to youngsters besides food, a relatively small mini golf course up the hill and the small events of being inducted into the sheriff's department.

Not bad for Wild West fans but not as great as Tombstone. It has a lot of expensive stores, restaurants, and the history is less preserved.

We were there when a huge art/craft fair was going on in June. The first thing to be aware of is that parking is impossible. There are not enough spots. And if you have an RV, get in town super early. I had to drop the trailer outside of town and drive back.
It has developed a number of tourist traps with overpriced goods. We are not big on museums, and what is left after that is not all that historic.

The first National Monument in the US, Devils Tower is a climbable rock formation revered by Native American tribes. Visitors cannot miss this impressive and unique landmark with its hexagonal columns rising significantly higher than any other nearby structures. The camp at the base of the tower fills up quickly, so it's advisable to book ahead if planning to stay overnight. Overall, Devils Tower National Monument is an essential stop for those traveling from the east towards Yellowstone National Park.
Definitely worth the stop if you're on the way to Yellowstone from the east. Impressive and very specific rock formation with hexagonal columns. The camp at the base of the tower was completely full and we were able to stay just only because one young lady agreed to share her spot with us... So, book ahead if you planning to stay here for the night.

Truly magnificent! This was more impressive than I originally thought. The park was great and there is an easy trail that takes about 45 minutes to walk around the entire monument. I was so happy we took the time to make the trip. The park had a convenient layout that was easy to get in and out of. There is beautiful scenery all around the site. Entrance fee is $25 for an auto but national parks passes are accepted. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed my visit to Devils Tower. Simply put, this place is awesome! I enjoyed the Visitor Center and Museum, as well. The Tower Trail with all of the spectacular views of Devils Tower and the surrounding area was great! I went on a little of the Red Beds Trail. I liked that, as well, but I didn't have the time to complete it. Finally, I just want to add that I've been to many National Parks and Monuments, and I'd rank Devils Tower up with the best that I've ever seen!

Spectacular place to visit. You can see it from 13 miles away on a clear day. Trail was paved and a fairly simple hike. Watch out for rattlesnakes. We did come across one. I also managed to get stung by the many bees flying around too (we went in late July). The National Park Annual Pass gets you in here as well, which was an added bonus. Overall, this is a must-see if you are in the area. Heck, even if you aren't, take the time to drive here. It's totally worth it.

Devils Tower is rooted in man’s unconscious like a geographic archetype of summoning. People have skydived and landed in top, rock climbed to play the bagpipes, and untold thousands have photographed and observed in person. Wyoming is a world unto itself. Every place I’ve been to while traveling from Idaho to South Dakota has been noteworthy and memorable.

Beautiful monument and beautiful hiking. If you have time, check out both the tower trail (1 hr) and the red beds trail (2 hr). You see tower from up close from the tower trail but some amazing views from the red bed trail as well! Parking lot was empty at 9 in the morning but was full at 12. The morning sun illuminates the window side of the monument and the after sun shines on the opposite.

Easily accessible trail around the whole column, with benches and places to stop along the way. Spent an afternoon here and saw most of the park, keep an eye out for climbers!
Must arrive early as the line during peak season is extremely long. Worth the wait to see up close but don't get caught arriving too late!

Devils Tower National Monument is an amazing site that requires at least one visit. The Tower Trail around the base is cool, but busy. For those who have more time we would recommend hiking the Red Beds Trail. This bizarre monolith of volcanism is truly incredible. This park is probably with a 1/2 day visit.

One of the best stops on our trip. Wasn't too busy when we were there. Bathrooms are at parking lot next to entrance building. Trail goes completely around the tower is definitely worth the walk. Trail is paved with benches along the path. You get to see it from all sides, and great long views of the area on the one side too.

This U.S. National Monument Park in Northeastern Wyoming is a must visit. This rare natural monolith is the largest of its kind in the world. This structure even from a distance is truly unbelievable and at first sight driving on the highway to the park it's breath taking awe inspiring you'll understand when it comes into your view. Definitely friends and family oriented and plenty of parking.
An American the Beautiful pass is honored here.

The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is the $25 entrance fee. Yes, it's good for 7 days, but this is not a place "most" would visit for 7 days. I think there should be a discounted ticket for those that visit for the standard few hours.
They have a pretty good system in place to limit the number of vehicles allowed into the visitors' centre parking area. A traffic light along the road to control how many vehicles can enter after others leave. The lineup can be long, but we went later in the day and didn't have to wait long.
That being said, it was awesome to finally see in person. Photos and Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind don't prepare you adequately. We only walked the easier shorter trail, but the views all around were amazing. There are lots of benches and viewpoints to rest at, but it's not a difficult walk.

Absolutely loved this national monument. After flying, the wife and I spent a couple hours here which totally helped unwind. I highly recommend the walk around the tower. It's not that far, and not that strenuous, and amazingly peaceful!! I also like that this park was not overly populated with visitors.

I absolutely loved Devil's Tower! You can see this for miles before you even get there and it only becomes larger and larger the closer you get. There is an easy, paved trail that encircles the monument offering views from all angles. The visitor's center is quite small as is the parking area, so I recommend arriving as early as possible.

This place is kind of majestic. Definitely a must see attraction if you're in the area. Walk the trail up to the lookout, you won't regret it. We arrived before they opened and the gate was open, in assuming allowing climbers in early cause we could see their lights on the side of the tower. Really neat formation!

You need to see the centerpiece of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. Parts of this monument were in the film. This place is a must see. Hard to explain unless you see it. There is a walking path that goes around the base of the Monument. You won't see any space aliens here, or will you? :)

Loved this iconic geological wonder. I parked at the Joyner Ridge trailhead and took that to the Connector Trail and linked up with the Red Beds Trail. This gives you a more authentic experience with a variety of views of the tower. I had the trail to myself today, helps I went on a weekday in February. For an easier route just drive up to the base and there is a paved path around the tower. Either way, it’s worth the time, hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I wasn’t sure if we wanted to take the time to go to Devil’s Tower during our road trip, but I am glad we did. The size of Devil’s Tower is amazing! As you enter the park you drive around about half of it to get to the parking area. After you park there is a little trail area with restrooms, drinking fountains, etc. We saw some deer while we were there. I have read about the ability to do rock climbing, but we did not during this trip. I would highly recommend making this a stop on your trip.

Also called Bear Lodge. Absolutely incredible. Seeing it from a distance was just amazing and seeing it up close brings an entirely different dimension to it. We walked the trail around the base of it which gave great views of it and the boulder field. It’s such a unique feature, if you’re in the area you should go visit. Seeing the birds flying around it makes it seem so dynamic and alive. And there are animals living on the top!
Amaranth Sander — Google review
Interesting butte surrounded by pleasant pastures. There's a gentle slope up to the base but expect to wait at the lights until spaces are available. You can easily save the bother of going in and snapping your pics at the many spots outside the park. Some could argue that you get a better perspective.

Nothing you have ever seen in pictures or on TV gives this place justice! The boys were able to climb way up to the base of the tower. And with a special permit, people are even able to climb the tower itself. I personally think they are crazy (saw a few climbing), but to each their own. There are two trails that go all the way around the base of the tower. We took the small trail, and it was relatively easy and absolutely stunning.

This place was great. It was in my bucket list and I couldn’t have been more pleased with my visit. The walking path was an enjoyable walk. It wasn’t too tough. My kids had no issue walking the whole trail. Great place for photos. There are a handful of over looks that give amazing views and great photo opportunities. People actually climb the mountain. We say a few climbers doing the deed. It was a site to see. I recommend if you have the chance and go see this places. I was lucky enough to catch a lightning strike on camera. This place was awesome.

This was such an unique experience to visit this massive rock butte formation. We were traveling through for and found it breath taking. They had plentiful parking and very clean restrooms. They area was heavy with tourists and we meet people from different parts of the country and abroad. The prairie dogs were so interesting to watch on the road into the tower

Waited out the fog and it was worth it! Pictures just don't do it justice. Don't think you can see enough from the parking lot!, walk the trail up to the base. It's only about 300 ft (100 m). Nicely paved and wide enough for a wheelchair! Nice little gift shop and informative displays. The building next door has restrooms. Both buildings were built in the 30's and still look amazing. P.s.- don't forget to stop at Prairie Dog Town on your way in ( large grassy field), those critters are just Too Cute!

Pictures do not do the Devils Tower justice. It is a must see. They are no words to describe the majestic views. Its easy to see why the Native American tribes consider the area sacred. You can feel the the presence of of God around this place. . The way the breeze flows through the Ponderosa Pines. It’s as though the the earth is trying to tell you something. If you go , find your own secluded spot and just sit there and listen.
It’s a spiritual journey.
I highly recommend.

Poor planning on our part to not set enough time to really explore this national monument. No pets on trails as an FYI. Started on the 2.8 mile loop near the restrooms and after descending for about a mile turned around and came back. Did not feel like a loop.
National park with vast grassy fields & memorials marking the site of Custer's Last Stand.
Little Bighorn really puts into perspective how big of a battle it really was. It was very imformative and our daughters really enjoyed it as well. They have a visitors center and various walking trails to learn about what happened here.

Interesting piece of American history in a somber location on the Crow reservation. It doesn't feel like the surrounding area has changed significantly from the time of the battle. Park rangers tell the story of the battle in great detail. We didn't spend nearly enough time touring the property where there are markers for fallen soldiers. We didn't get to do the auto tour which we need to do. There is also a memorial created by ancestors of the involved American Indian tribes. Visitors center is mostly the gift shop with the real story outside. Highly recommend a visit to the site of this battle which will remind you of a period of American history which it is difficult to be proud of. We will be back!

This is a wonderful National Monument. There is a 20-minute introductory video in the back of the museum. I recommend that you begin with that to build some context for the rest of the exhibits. The museum is small but informative. We only had 90 minutes for our visit, so we walked up to the top of the hill and then returned to the visitor center on the opposite side of the street.

A very moving experience visiting the Little Bighorn Battlefield, with a lot of boards to learn more about what happened leading up to, during and after the battle. To be standing at the top of Last Stand Hill knowing that, over 100 years ago, fierce fighting took place between the US 7th Calvary and Native Americans in that very spot, was indescribable. Seeing pictures online is good, but there's nothing quite like getting to experience it in person and definitely worth a visit if you're interested in history. Don't forget to have a look inside the museum too, very insightful and provides more information about both sides of the battle. Would without a doubt, recommend visiting here.
James Cooper — Google review
While the pictures don’t look like much, this is an amazing place to visit if you love nature and Native American history! To be standing where such a vicious battle took place in 1876 and see the grave markers is pretty cool. Make sure and take the trail tour with the guide. They explain the battle with great accuracy and detail! Tour takes about an hour and requires good amount of walking. Well worth it! Also a National Cemetery on this land built several years after the battle of Little Big Horn.

We stopped here for the second time. Came here summer of 2021 and now Summer 2022. Had to come back. We did a tour early in the morning. One of the first in the park. It was just wonderful. Well done National Park Service! Excellent exhibits portraying both sides of the conflict in a respectful manner.
I enjoyed that Walt to the monument at the top of the hill. For those who can't walk long distances, there are handicap parking spots at the top of the hill for your use.
I tried to use my America The Beautiful pass, but they were not charging admission on the day I visited.

On my Christmas 2023 road trip from Seattle to Montana my partner brought me to Little Bighorn Battlefield. We are avid learners of all human history and have began traveling together so he can show me what he has taught me so I may experience it with my own eyes. The battlefield was loud with echoes of its past and the endless skies speak in hymns as it watches over its wandering wildlife amongst the headstones. I'm eager to travel back one day at the chance to shed more tears in deeper learning of one of America's historical battles.

Stopped here and found it very interesting. We drove the loop after checking out the visitor center. Found the memorial honoring to both US soldiers and the Native American Warriors. The Grave markers placed where men of either side fell to really enhance the understanding of that day.
We drove out to the General Reno sites too. It’s a long drive through private ranch land. We got to wait for horses to cross the road.
Definitely worth the stop.

Words cannot express what my review would be all about! Visited in Aug. 2019 and I was very deeply touched by the massive, massive land and its history. Made me feel very humble and seeing it with my own 2 eyes literally silenced me!
MUCH respect for the native indians - one cannot even start imagining what it must have been like... and still. And for what? Because of greed for land and gold. Extremely sad!
Custer had it coming!!

One of the few Native American battlefields that I've toured; however, it was amazing. The visitor center was quite interesting and the oral history from the ranger was phenomenally colorful and insightful.
If you're familiar with the typical history of Custer and SittingBull, you may be in for quite a surprise. The number of grave makers was surprising. Although I know the numbers that were lost, it w was still overwhelming to see the markers spread out over the miles of the driving tour.
If you're a NPS pass holder, it's free. Great parking and definitely a must see for All.
Wallace Floyd — Google review
I gave it 5 stars because I didn't have to pay. It's free after 4pm, before this time it's 25 per vehicle, and quite frankly, if I had paid, it really would have ticked me off. Don't get me wrong, museum quality exhibits inside the visitor center, knowledgeable staff, and top shelf amenities. Brass tacks, it's a field filled with white markers where calvary officers fell. Neat, but what I would pay 25 to 50 dollars for would be mannequins dressed in uniform recreating the battle throughout the field or a description, if known, how each soldier died...a scout running a message to Custer, a group of soldiers covering Custer's retreat... stuff like that. Maybe painted mannequins would be more economical. I don't know what I was expecting, but it being free, it was worth the stop and certainly can be done in 2 hrs - closes at 6pm. Gift shops all around, go to the one right across from the battlefield and get an Indian taco, it was DELICIOUS!!!!

A must see if anywhere near the area! The Visitor Center has done an amazing job of telling the story with respect to both sides which is important. It's a time in history that may not be looked upon favorably but they have done an amazing job with facts about that time and the events that occurred.
There are several displays of the battle that are realistic and done well as well as artifacts and models. There is a 24 minute video about the battle that covers and explains everything. My husband is a history buff and even he learned a lot and was super immersed in the center. Although it was 100 degrees the day we were there, we did some walking and driving around the grounds, taking it all in. There are story boards throughout which we took turns reading to each other while the other studied and enjoyed the landscape.
The Ranger in the Visitor Center was a wealth of knowledge and answered some longstanding questions we had about Sitting Bull and the battle.

Great place with proud native American history. This is where Custer was killed for trying to attack local natives. Was disappointed to see that it's used as a cemetery by relatives of the soldiers that were killed during the battle. As a native I found this spot very inspiring as a location where natives stood their ground and fought back against the murderous u.s. soldiers. Many markers scattered throughout the battle field where soldiers were killed. Rangers were very friendly and knowledgeable. Nice gift shop and worth the price of admission. Will definitely be visiting again in future road trips

Seeing the battlefield in person adds a very important perspective to the story. Viewing the hills, valleys, ridges and all the challenging terrain while walking through where it happened and reading each of the descriptive posts brings it all to life. Each of the plaques along the road have an associated audio component. Made it possible to continue the self-guided tour even as the weather became uncooperative. Don't skip the 25 minute video in the visitor center before you begin. Friendly park staff as well.

Went on the day of the eclipse and it was great! We stayed the night in Hardin so we could get an early start here. The staff were great here! Woman at the gate mentioned they may have some solar eclipse glasses in the visitor center stored somewhere to see the eclipse with. I mentioned that to the staff at the visitor center and they started looking around, after sometime before the height of the eclipse the woman at the gatehouse found them and they put them out for everyone to take to see the event. There was also a gentleman there that had worked there for sometime and he was so full of knowledge about the battle and officers. We loved hearing him talk before he played the video. Definitely worth the drive to come visit!

The Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming is an interactive museum dedicated to the history of the American West. This complex consists of five museums and a research library that showcase the life and legacy of William Frederick Cody, also known as Buffalo Bill. The exhibits within these world-class museums explore various aspects such as Native American cultures, Western art, firearms, and natural history. Visitors can immerse themselves in the authentic spirit of the American West through these captivating exhibitions.
Really amazing place that one could spend two days enjoying. 5 different museums full of fascinating displays and information. And if you are interested in guns, this is the place for you. They have so many that you truly will leave in amazement. So happy to have had the opportunity to visit!!

Plan to use two days to see everything in this museum. Thoroughly full if history. Native American area, HUGE gun collection, western art gallery, cafe, private collection areas, etc .. and very nice gift shop with a case of authentically made turquoise jewelry. Very well kept museum. Memorabilia from the Irma Hotel, roulette table and the wheel. We are seniors and paid $22 each and that includes the 2 day visit.

It’s definitely worth your time to go out of your way to go to the museum. I don’t know how else to describe it, but unbelievable. If you enjoy viewing firearms, you should probably plan on staying there all day. There’s so much to see that it will take you most of the day to go through the museum. We’ve been there twice and definitely will be back again.

Such an amazing place full of history. 5 museums featured in one complex. There is no way to see everything in one day and that is why you can keep your ticket and you can come back for day 2. The Cody Firearm museum should be on your bucket list to see. It has over 10,000 firearms that cover hundreds of years. Absolutely amazing and well laid out.

We spent 2-3 hours at the museum and felt like we got what we paid for. A world’s class western art exhibit, a phenomenal gun collection and a good briefing of local natural history. Buffalo Bill was not a draw for me. That mart of the museum was nicely done and we sped through looking at historical pieces. What really is the gem here is the discussion of geology, flora, fauna and the people (not just Buffalo Bill) but the Indigenous and the settlers. Would have loved to see more on Trapping, Louis and Clark, and the expeditions that shaped this part of the American West. The Plains Indian exhibit was very nicely done and included some contemporary issues. We would recommend this museum to anyone headed to Yellowstone (especially the art museum). Because you will get a picture of what you will see but it is no where near the true beauty of the land.

A must see if you like western history and curious about Buffalo Bill.
I didn't know anything about Buffalo Bill before I arrived. However, after I left I felt knowledgeable enough that I could accurately share some facts with others.
Plenty of exhibits! From art, natural history, firearms, live birds, Native Americans and so much more. I really like the layout of the firearm exhibits. They have plenty of information regarding how firearms work with videos and side exhibits. One thing they are missing in this exhibit that I would have like to know more about is the composition of the ammunition powder and how that has evolved over the years. I only noticed two hands-on exhibits developed solely for kids. Unfortunately, Buffalo Bill's home and playground was not accessible during our visit.
Food court provides heath options such as sandwiches, salads, and soups. Dining area is quite large.
Admission price makes this museum accessible for a couple but it may be difficult for larger families or out of reach. Maybe the museum should consider children free since really exhibits are mostly enjoyed by adult patrons.

Absolutely gigantic with something for everybody! We easily spent a weekend here, which could have turned into an entire week. The entry fee is reasonable for how large, clean, and interactive everything is. Nothing was broken and all exhibits were well maintained. The Buffalo Bill Center of The West was one of the top places on my list of stops to make on my five month RV journey of the Midwest. I was here thirty two years ago when the museum only consisted of the Buffalo Bill Museum and the Firearms museum and it has grown now to five museums in one location. The five museums are The Buffalo Bill Museum, The Plains Indian Museum, The Whitney Western Art Museum, The Draper Natural History Museum and The Cody Firearms Museum. Plan on spending a very full day, or very possibly two full days going through the five museums. If you like the old west, this is a must see place on your bucket list...

Old Trail Town in Cody, Wyoming is a captivating museum that allows visitors to step back in time and experience the allure of the Old West. Situated near the rodeo grounds, this historical attraction showcases 26 well-preserved cabins and a trail of worn wagons, providing an authentic glimpse into what life was like in an old western town. Through the dedicated efforts of Bob Edgar, a local historian from Wyoming, these cabins were carefully saved from destruction and painstakingly reconstructed at Old Trail Town.
We've been in Cody for 2 weeks and have this on our bucket list. Jeremiah "Liver Eating" Johnston is my favorite mountain man since we've seen the movie with the same name with Robert Redford.
Amazing history wrapped up in a self paced hour-ish tour of some OLD west 1800-1930 circa items. These pictures give it no justice. We were NOT disappointed. For a small fee 10 bucks for me and 12 bucks for wife.
HIGHLY Recommend this place.

The old trail town is tucked away a couple blocks off the main drag through Cody.
Neat collection of old buildings all relocated from across the region into one location for you to walk through.
A plaque adorns each log cabin telling where it was from, the history of the occupants and it is decorated as it would have been when in use.
For the kids there is a small little roping area with a miniature calf that the younger ones enjoyed spending some time at, the actual reading of the plaques and walking through the buildings I believe is more geared towards adults.
The town is nicely done and if you are a fan of reading the rich history and seeing the museum like displays you will enjoy this

Old Trail Town is a fascinating place to view relics from the settlement of the western US. Great care has been taken with preserving and displaying the collections. While there are displays of beautifully made clothing and other items by the original inhabitants of our country, there is no mention of the atrocities committed upon native nations to secure the western states for Euro-Americans.

Yellowstone Lake is the largest body of water in Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone Lake freezes over completely every winter in late December or early January, with ice thicknesses varying from a few inches to more than two feet. The lake usually thaws in late May or early June. Yellowstone Lake remains cold year-round, with an average water temperature of 41°F (5°C). Because of the extremely cold water, swimming is not recommended.Yellowstone Lake has the largest population of wild cutthroat trout in North America. How a Pacific Ocean fish was trapped in a lake that drains to the Atlantic puzzled experts for years. Figuratively, if one could pour all the water out of Yellowstone Lake, what would be found on the bottom is similar to what is found on land in Yellowstone: geysers, hot springs, and deep canyons.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful lakes in America! Peaceful. Serene. Huge!!
It is a must see. Take a picnic lunch, stop at one of the picnic areas. Enjoy the views!

Too sad we went there around Fall and winter, the sky was unclear. The weather was cold. We will be back around summer. It would be much better.

Really big and beautiful lake. It’s still an iced lake when I was there, but I think it should be pure water now. You can see this lake from different angles. Now you might be able to take a boat through bridge bay. You can go to west thumb to see how geothermal landscapes merge with lake and it’s really awesome!

As I was driving out of the area, came upon these two bisons grazing by the lake.

Yellowstone Lake was one of my favorite parts about Yellowstone National Park. It’s a huge lake, with very beautiful views. It reminded me of the California coast. There are lots of places to pull off along the coast with picnic tables. Some areas are thermal and you can see steam coming out on the shore.

We have explored and thoroughly loved Yellowstone National Park each of the numerous times we have visited. Lone Star Geyser is a favorite spot and a wonderful hike from Lone Star back to Old Faithful Lodge! Everyone should see Yellowstone. You’ll gather lifetime memories there.
I regret not touring Yellowstone in winter when I was young! It’s on my bucket list! ♥️

Yellowstone lake cover 136 surface miles and it is the largest high elevation lake in North America.
Interesting fact is that there is no fishing allowed from the “fishing bridge” since 1973.
Yellowstone Lake runs through numerous parts of the park but we found the best view to be on East entrance road. I would highly recommend Steamboat Point picnic ground for awesome views of the water during a stop for lunch or dinner. Steamboat is just a mile or so east of the fishing bridge. Enjoy.

This lake is huge. We went to the part by the Fishing Bridge Visitors Center. We also enjoyed the lake from the West Thumb Geyser Basin.
The lake shore at the visitor center was so serene. I highly recommend visiting it here. There were almost no people around.
The West Thumb Geyser Basin was also pretty neat. It was cool that there was geothermal activity right on the lake.
You'll likely drive by this lake while in Yellowstone at some point. You might as well stop for a bit to enjoy it.
The Lamar River runs through the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park. The valley is popular for wildlife viewing, and visitors have a higher chance of seeing wolves in the wild here than anywhere else in the park. The river is also home to herds of buffalo and other large mammals.
The most beautiful place in Yellowstone! Bison, Elk and Antelope everywhere.

Lamar Valley is located along the Soda Butte Creek before you arrive at Tower Fall, if you enter the Park from the NE entrance, from Cooke City, MT.
It is a wonderful place to observe wildlife and this can be done right from your vehicle. The herds of buffalo seem acclimated to the traffic and will graze right alongside the road. Mamas and their calves with the bulls on patrol.
We stayed right in the car and let them come to us, and this is a traffic stopping show.

If you are planning to travel to this area while in Yellowstone plan to be up here early to be able to experience more wildlife and enjoy the peacefulness of the valley. Loads of buffalo at all times of the day and it is not as busy as the more southerly parts of the park but much more stunning setting.

When visiting Yellowstone in winter, you'll need private snow coaches to access the park's interior. These winter-worthy vehicles offer 360-degree views of the landscape and animals, providing unique photographic opportunities. The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, with its thousand-foot-deep gorge and stunning waterfalls like Upper and Lower Falls, can be captured on camera from both rims of the canyon. In summer, guided hiking tours through this breathtaking canyon offer amazing views and a chance to witness its large waterfalls firsthand.
Quite stunning. Actually much more impressive than the actual Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is a picturesque place with canyons and a river cutting through the middle. It has a lot of viewing points and the canyons look amazing. There are a couple of half a mile to a mile treks here to see a nice view of the grand canyon. It also has a the upper and the lower water falls which are beautiful and you get to sit near the waterfall as well. A definite must visit on your trip to Yellowstone National Park.

Beautiful spot in Yellowstone and it was in my top 5 of places to visit in this national park.
We went on May 6th and just could had access to 2 view points (some paths were close due to snow) so if you want to see the waterfall from a closer place I'd recommend to go later in the year but still, no matter when you go, this place is beautiful 😍

O what to say about this place! Very Unique and Very Beautiful!!! I’ve never seen such a beautiful canyon with colorful rocks and river! The trail down to ‘Brink of lower falls’ is a little less than 3/4th of a mile but the drop is about 270ft, therefore, walking down is super easy but coming back up needs a lot of effort, but it’s totally WORTH IT!!! Same deal with ‘Lower Lookout Point’. Inspiration point justifies the name!

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is a breathtaking marvel with picturesque view of Yellowstone Falls. The canyon is a deep V-shaped valley with colorful orange, yellow, and pink canyon walls.
There are different viewpoints, we went to the Artist point on the south rim of Yellowstone. We were mesmerized by the rainbows accentuating the beauty of the canyon. Get there early to beat the crowds; the parking fills up fast. A must-visit natural wonder!

Experiencing the grandeur of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone for the first time was an awe-inspiring adventure that left me breathless. From the moment I set eyes on this natural wonder, I knew I was in for a remarkable journey. Guided by a dear friend, we spent many hours immersing ourselves in the unparalleled beauty of this majestic landscape.
As we ventured along the canyon's rim, the vistas that unfolded before us were nothing short of magnificent. The vibrant colors of the canyon walls, ranging from golden hues to deep reds, were intensified by the perfect weather. The sunlight danced upon the cascading waterfalls that plunged into the depths, creating an ethereal atmosphere.
Despite its fame, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone didn't feel overly crowded, allowing us to truly savor the experience. We found moments of solitude to appreciate the tranquil surroundings and soak in the awe-inspiring views.
The power and force of nature were on full display as the Yellowstone River carved its way through the canyon, sculpting breathtaking cliffs and creating a tapestry of geological wonders. It was a humbling reminder of the immense forces that have shaped our planet over millions of years.
The sheer scale of the canyon was impossible to fully comprehend, even with hours of exploration. Each viewpoint revealed a new perspective, showcasing nature's ability to create both grand spectacles and intricate details. From Artist Point to Uncle Tom's Trail, every spot offered its own unique allure.
Visiting the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone was an unforgettable experience that will forever hold a special place in my heart. Its untouched beauty, combined with the perfect weather and a dear friend's company, made it a journey I will cherish for a lifetime.

The Thumb Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park is a picturesque spot with vibrant colors and breathtaking lake views. To explore the area by boat, visitors must obtain a permit from various locations. Motorized and non-motorized permits are available, and fees range from $5 to $20 depending on the duration and type of vessel. Situated on the west thumb of Yellowstone Lake, this basin offers a unique aquatic environment enriched with hydrothermal features.

Yellowstone's geysers are an awe-inspiring natural wonder that showcases the unique and breathtaking beauty of our planet. The geysers in Yellowstone National Park are unlike anything else you'll find on Earth. Witnessing their eruptions is a truly mesmerizing experience that reminds us of the incredible power and geological activity beneath our feet.
The variety of geysers in Yellowstone is remarkable, each with its own distinct characteristics and eruption patterns. From the iconic Old Faithful to lesser-known gems like Grand Prismatic Spring, every geyser offers a unique spectacle that leaves visitors in awe.
The vibrant colors, swirling steam, and bubbling waters create a surreal landscape that feels like stepping into a dream. The sight of a geyser erupting, shooting water and steam high into the air, is nothing short of magical.
Beyond their beauty, geysers play a crucial role in the ecological balance of the park. They provide habitats for unique microbial life and contribute to the park's overall geothermal system. Yellowstone's geysers are a living testament to the power and wonders of nature.
Visiting Yellowstone's geysers is an unforgettable experience that reminds us of the Earth's incredible natural diversity and the forces that shape our world. Thumb Geyser Basin is, in my opinion, not the biggest or the best geyser basin in Yellowstone. But it is right next to Yellowstone Lake and has the best surrounding scenery. It also is never as crowded. No getsers shooting towers of water, but many different colors of hot pools and mud pots, too.

Love the nice boardwalk to get around! It let's you get up close and personal with these geysers! Easy walk for kids to get around, strollers and wheelchairs. Some are boiling, some are different colors. You can go down by the lake too!

Such a amazing place to stroll the elevated walkways. Plan on 30-45 minutes to take the walk to see everything. I loved that around each corner was another different sight, ever changing with the sunlight as well as each pool changing the amount of water flowing and steam vents.
No 2 visits are the same as God changes the painting every day. Your stroll takes you along shore of West Thumb Bay which is part of Yellowstone Lake. A wonder in itself!

This was the first time that my wife and I have visited Yellowstone Park. We are completely in love with this part of the USA, we have visited other great places like the Blueridge Park Way in the Blue Ridge Mountains but that pails in comparison. I was lucky enough to photograph all the animals in my list and even some that We did not know were there. We saw llamas and one camel plus great indian ponies. Best experience of our life! Highly recommended but don't fly, drive! There is no better way to see the country.

I went in the evening and almost had the place to myself. Would highly recommend going early in the morning, or after 8pm. It smells like sulfur and looks like an alien planet. There is a nice boardwalk, and unfortunately you aren't allowed to explore or interact with the hot springs.

Nice evening stroll, very few others when we went around 730pm on a Saturday in June. There are no erupting geysers and some of the pools were dried up, but there were still some cool pools and it is a beautiful walk with the lake in the background.

We walked around this beautiful caldera. We viewed mountain birds and flowers and gorgeous colorful pools even bubbling up from beneath the lake. The mist and smells coming from the pools make this geyser cluster a must.

The Norris and Thumb geyser basins are two sites part of the Yellowstone volcano caldera but away from the old faithful area. Both are worth visiting if time allows.

Gorgeous stop. You can walk at your leisure through the thumb pots and enjoy a beautiful view of Yellowstone Lake. Friendly and informative park ranger shared facts and answered questions. Nice clearing with tables for a food stop (bring your own). Bathrooms are primitive, but there is a wash down service that makes them more bearable. Very cool place to see the variety of bubbling wonders up close.

Norris Geyser Basin is the hottest geothermal area in Yellowstone National Park. It offers a museum, trails, and geysers for visitors to explore. If you're interested in the history of the National Park Service, a quick stop at the Park Ranger Museum on your way to Mammoth is worth it. Norris Geyser Basin also provides an opportunity for a short walk to stretch your legs and take in the morning scenery.
Norris Geyser Basin has pristine geysers and lots of unique geothermal features. The area is less well developed as a tourist spot and that may add to its lure. The porcelain basin has an otherworldly landscape of textures and looks, bubbling hot pots, and acrid fumes that fill the air. You can feel them up close. There is a lot to see in the back basin, but the boardwalk is in a state of disrepair that needs to be addressed. We would like to go back to explore the basin place further.

A wonderful place with many interesting thermal features. The steam boat geyser is very colorful in the winter and also it has many interesting steam pools.
During the winter this location is accessible only by the snow coaches operated by many tour companies.

One of the places in Yellowstone you should definitely go. Too many active geysers. My picks- Emerald Pool, Steamboat Geyser and Porcelain Basin. The place will smell like rotten eggs due to the sulphur content.

A basin full of geysers. There are 2 parts for the basin, Porcelain basin and Back basin. Both are equally beautiful.
Porcelain basin is very big, but you can see complete basin and all the geyser from overlook point. The colors are very nice and unique.
On the other, Back basin is not single basin as it has subparts. The steamboat is nice.
Since Yellowstone has many geysers like this, you may seem disinterested if you have already seen old faithful and grand prismatic. But trust me it has its own beauty. A nice place to spend some time.

Been here during August 2019 and was my first ever trip to YNP.
I found Norris Geyser Basin with all different geysers located there really so beautiful. Mind you... it was really warm walking around there but then again, so typical for being around geysers. I would visit again and again if I could!
Wait for the "Steamboat Geyser" to go off 😁
Hope you enjoy my picts.

This is a must do part of your Yellowstone Park experience. It’s a big loop to walk and you get bro see a lot of geothermal activity. Stay on the trail. It’s dangerous (possibly deadly) to go off the trail and get close to the scalding hot water/mud!

You never know what to expect at Norris; Yellowstone'most active region. We were very fortunate to see several geysers, that have long dormant periods, erupting. There are two parts, given the large area but both require you to be in reasonable shape and involve steep hills.
Lee Minett — Google review
Fascinating to see all this geothermal activity in a whole valley from up close. One can only assume, what immense energy is to be found in the inside of our planet, that water on the surface is cooked in the way to be observed at Norris Geyser Basin at Yellowstone National Park. For safety reasons, guests are only allowed to walk on a boardwalk that forms a circle of about a mile. However, as impressive the large gas clouds may look, they do smell like rotten eggs, but it's still worthwhile seeing this place.

This place is amazing! Easy access to the paths and really cool features. One of our favorite geyser basins during the trip!
Old Faithful is a renowned geyser in Yellowstone National Park that captivates visitors with its regular eruptions of hot water. It is not the oldest geyser globally, yet its eruptions are awe-inspiring, reaching heights averaging 130 feet and sometimes even soaring to 180 feet.
Beautiful!!! Amazing!! If you have the opportunity to see old faithful please do. Plenty of seats available, enormous gift shop. This goes off every 90 minutes give or take 15 minutes. There is a schedule inside the gift shop on the screen. It does not last that long, 3 minutes maybe. Worth the wait though. Parking I wouldn't worry about!! It's a must see.

Had a great time, you can also trail or hike if you are into this. The wild animals were not aggressive as said, just need to approach with caution and be sensitive to their habitat. The geyser was awesome, sounds like a jet taking off. I had a wonderful time there. The ticket purchased for 38 dollars at the gate was for 5 days. So you can continue journey from where you left off.

Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park is an absolute must-see, and there's plenty of parking available. However, it tends to fill up quickly, so it's best to arrive early at the location.
The geyser is conveniently situated near the parking area, making it easily accessible by a short walk. It erupts with hot water and steam every 30-45 minutes, providing an extraordinary spectacle that is truly awe-inspiring. It's heartwarming to witness everyone patiently waiting for the event, adding to the charm of the experience. The reliability of its eruptions makes it an iconic moment to cherish with friends.
To plan your visit accordingly, you can check all the eruption timings on the geyser times mobile app. The area surrounding Old Faithful is perfect for both exploration and relaxation, offering a wonderful setting for spending quality time with friends.

Awesome geysers, hot springs, mud pots. Old Faithful is pretty epic and center, and a guaranteed show, but in the 70 minutes or so between eruptions you can walk around to see lots of other geological wonders, including other geysers that erupt randomly and can be even more fun. Super crowded, but plenty of things to see outside the main attraction, and lots of amenities and easy parking.
Justin Rau — Google review
Of course you have to stop here! It’s beautiful. If the visitors center is closed the Yellowstone Lodge has the eruptions time posted. If you have time hike the trail that overlooks old faithful for another perspective - this hike is a bit rough in spots. While old faithful is the “star” of this area, the Grand Geyser is in my opinion more spectacular when it erupts. There are benches near the Grand Geyser. I got some great pictures. It is amazing how accurate it's timing is. Make sure you check the times and get there earlier than what is anticipated. This is a beautiful landscape and a unique experience. We had higher expectations for the results but it was still a must see. There is many other cool places to stop in yellowstone. We were only able to go through a small portion of all of what is to see. There is a nice gift shop and other amenities near old faithful. This is a majestic park to go see. It wasn't extreme busy being that it is winter and that was really nice.
Robert Gailie — Google review
Check visitor center for estimated times of eruption, all 3 we saw happened within 10 minutes of their estimates. Old faithful seems to be on a 90 minute rotation. Walk the trail to see even more geysers and springs. Very easy. Boardwalk is well maintained. Lots of seats along the way for breaks or just to enjoy the view. Old faithful was cool but I loved the colors of the others, the grotto and riverside toward the end before morning glory (my personal favorite) was amazing. It’s about a 1.5 mile walk from old faithful to morning glory, 3 miles round trip.
Joel Collishaw — Google review
Old Faithful stayed true to its name, gracing us with a couple of its signature eruptions during our visit. While it wasn't my top highlight (Yellowstone is brimming with beauties), the build-up and suspense added a fun twist! Definitely worth the wait and watch.

One of the most popular and famous things to do and a must do in the Yellowstone park when you visit.
There are many other geysers that have much more spectacular eruptions than the Old Faithful but the Old Faithful are the most frequent of eruptions.
You can also view the eruptions from the observation deck of Old Faithful inn that gave you a different perspective of this world famous natural wonders.

It was pretty cool. Once in a lifetime thing. I didn't spend much time their or walk any trails. But I did see old faithful explode! So I'd spend more time their next time. I was just in the area so it's worth the stop. I'd go back for sure.
This old bison just walked up to everybody. I got a little too close. But I ended up running away because it was so close to me.

I love Yellowstone National Park, and I'm obsessed with going there. I'm only 2 hours from the park, so I visit often. I love all areas of the park. Old Faithful is wonderful to watch, no matter how many times I've seen it. I also love Old Faithful Inn. It's rustic look is beautiful. We've stayed there a couple of times over the years.

Old Faithful is the most reliable geyser at Yellowstone national park. The rangers can predict the next eruption within a 15 minute window. It erupts every 90 to 115 minutes. There is always an anxious crowd waiting so get a seat early so you have a good view. There's a board walk with benches. While waiting you'll be able to view the "stupid human tricks" while waiting... people always try to walk close to the geyser or wild Bison while you're waiting for the next event.

Always love this place! If you're a nature lover like me or you want to see a spectacle of nature, you'll love this place! It's especially nice if you go during a time that's not so busy. You can enjoy the geysers, especially good old Old Faithful, while basking in the serenity and peace of the outdoors. It's a beautiful opportunity!
What can you add that hasn't been said. Other than go to see the big geysers like Old Faithful and Steamboat early in the morning or late afternoon. The hours between 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM are absolutely insane because of the number of tourists trying to see them on bus service

Five stars for the park. ONE star for the road safety.
Please, please ban bicycles from the roads! It's dangerous for the riders to be out there where they can become prey, but worse for the drivers of the cars. Even when traveling at or below the speed limit there's nothing worse than coming around a blind corner and encountering a moron on a bicycle in the middle of the road. We were traveling with our F250 and travel trailer and almost had several accidents because of these fools. We had to emergency brake FOUR different times to avoid a bike. That's not easy to do when traveling at 35 mph with a 15k pound rig. It doesn't stop on a dime. The people behind us had no idea it was coming and couldn't see anything except our trailer. I'm surprised we didn't have a car in our camper's living room! We even encountered big tour groups of them - including kids no more than SEVEN years old! That the heck are people thinking?! That yellow triangle doesn't make it safe for those kids!! Somebody's gonna get killed. I know if I have to choose between running my family into an oncoming tour bus or hitting a bike - that biker is going under my truck.

Mammoth Hot Springs, a renowned Yellowstone attraction, showcases a series of terraced travertine pools that emit steam. According to a recent press release from the National Park Service, visitors can access the park on foot through specific entrances while repairs are being completed. Located near the Montana entrance in the northern section of Yellowstone, Mammoth Hot Springs offers an opportunity to witness ancient geological activity.
Our family had been to Yellowstone a couple of times, but we had never done the north side. Mammoth lives up to its name. There is an upper and lower with different parking areas. Once you park there several boardwalks you can wonder around to see the various parts of Mammoth Hot Springs. We took our 3 girls and they really enjoyed it. There is a small town near by with shops, restaurants, restrooms and park areas.

There are a lot of stairs keep in mind for those that have a hard time getting around. It used to have a lot more water flowing but does have a little as of early June 2023.

We visited Mammoth Hot Springs on May 10, 2022. It is close to the north entry of the park. The place is beautiful and has boardwalks to view lower and upper hot springs. Snow was still present on most of the boardwalks.
J W — Google review
Lots of boardwalks crisscross up the side of the mountain providing a solid hour of exploration. The hot springs are littered across the hillside with unique geological formations around every turn. The hot springs are completely exposed and the sun reflects off the white rock making the rock formations even more dramatic. This makes for a hot afternoon activity during the summer, but still enjoyable if you’re prepared.

Mammoth Hot Springs is a must see. It looks like a build of of millenia of hot spring activity with a variety of colors and textures. Mammoth describes it well. The springs extend a long way. There are both drive through areas and boardwalk areas. See the pics for a sampling of what you will see. Click the like button if the review was helpful or you like the pics.

Very interesting walk through a landscape that seems like the moon, and smells pretty awful (as you would expect). It’s a lot of climbing stairs to see the whole thing, but well worth it. You can drive to the top and see some of the pools if you can’t manage all the stairs. We were pretty exhausted after exploring the whole thing, so make sure you wear your comfy walking shoes!
Visiting Yellowstone in winter entails dealing with a substantial amount of snow. To explore the park's interior during this time, private snow coaches are utilized. These vehicles have spacious interiors equipped with large side windows and pop-top roof hatches, providing unobstructed 360-degree views of the landscape and wildlife. Additionally, they offer ample room for both camera equipment and winter gear.
This is by far the main spot I wanted to see at Yellowstone. A gigantic colorful pool! However - due to the time of year (early spring), it was covered thickly in steam and you could not really enjoy it at all. I would love to come back in summer. I would also love to get a higher view.

Grand Prismatic Springs was by far the highlight of my trip through Yellowstone!
The entire boardwalk loop around the whole thing just left you awestruck by its natural beauty. The vibrant array of colors was surreal to see in person and the photos captured by your cameras will probably never do it full justice.
There were also plenty of local guides to give you pertinent information as you make your way around the loop. Parking was a nightmare however but that was to be expected I suppose...
Adam — Google review
It's a good stop with a boardwalk (no railings) running around the different pools. However, much of their beauty is found from above so to truly get a great view, you need to hike a separate trail to the Grand Prismatic Springs overlook, starting at Fairy Falls parking lot.

Amazing place with Incredible view of the Grand Prismatic Spring! 😍 Definitely recommend doing the small hike to the Overlook for amazing captures. All the smaller pools are photogenic areas as well.
Ashutosh Tripathi — Google review
I’m sure it is gorgeous in summer, but if you are going in winter, you may not be able to even see it due to steam coming off of it. The boardwalk out to it is nice and easy to walk.

If you are visiting the most magical National Park the. You must stop at Grand Prismatic Springs to check out the amazing colors and hot spring pools. You can get great pictures from the boardwalk or there is a trail head that leads you up about a mile hike to a great view for better views. YOU MUST STAY ON THE BOARDWALK. These are very delicate ecosystems and when you walk on them it destroys them or worse yourself. And remember if you see wildlife stay a minimum of 25 yards away.

Beautiful... short hike to see the grand prismatic spring from the top... the only thing is it is really crowded from 9am to 12 pm... plus since it has been raining there are a lot of mosquitos so take your bug spray! But beautiful 😍

The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Its vibrant, rainbow-like colors against the backdrop of the natural surroundings are a sight to behold. What makes the experience even more special is the short hike that leads you to an elevated viewpoint, offering a breathtaking perspective of this geological wonder. Walking along the boardwalk and gazing down at the brilliantly hued waters is a mesmerizing experience. It's a must-see natural wonder that showcases the incredible beauty and geothermal wonders of Yellowstone. Don't miss the opportunity to witness this stunning marvel of nature and take that short hike for an even more memorable view when visiting the park.

Wonderful place. Take the small hike to see it from the top.

Recommend getting there around 9am, hike to the falls passed the springs. By the time you return the morning mist and the like will have burned off and the view of the spring will be best. The colors are just as the pics show, very vibrant and unique. We even saw a bison and other wildlife which was a bonus.

Near Old Faithful Geyser. Don't miss this place! Time of day, season, water flow and weather effects the coloration. Don't expect the colors that you see on postcards.

Words cannot explain this magical place. Worth doing board walk along with the Fairy Falls overlook (1 mile round trip, pretty easy hike). Parking is bit tricky but doable.
Always prefer post noon visit as in the morning the visibility is low.

It was an okay crowd in the afternoon and would suggest to park on the road and walk to here. To get the absolute mesmerizing view, do the Prismatic Overlook loop by parking near Fairy Falls trailhead.
Priyanka Reddy — Google review
Grand Prismatic Spring can be described as a gigantic painting, a masterpiece by nature. It has a massive deep blue center like a gemstone surrounded by radiant red, golden, and brown color corona. The colors and pattens shift constantly depending on how light is shining, and as fog comes and goes. It is best to start by taking-in an aerial view from Fairly Falls trail. And then experience it up and close from the boardwalk; it’s entrance is located a short drive from the falls. Afternoon sun is the best time as it burns off fog and the fiery colors are in full display. We would go there again in a heartbeat.

Must visit place in Yellowstone National park. Full of steamy water with mineral deposits in different colors. Unique experience to view these hot streams. Crowd and mostly need to go in line on wooden path.

One of my favorite places to visit while visiting Yellowstone is Grand Prismatic Spring.
Just stunning views and the colors are just unbelievable. Takes my breath away each time.
A long line of cars to enter each time for the parking spots, but well worth the wait to get into the area to see the Grand Prismatic Spring.

Absolutely stunning. If you must see only one thing in Yellowstone, this is it!! This is hands down my favorite place in the park.
Pro Tip: parking is a cluster. Park on the roadside before getting there and walk the rest of the way there.

Beautiful. Only detractors were a) the idiots within arm's reach of a buffalo didn't get gored, and b) every single RV/bus parking spot was taken by a single car. No doubt about it, beauty draws the absolute worst amongst us.

Go midday when it's sunny!!
The tips are spot-on. As our pics show, we first went on a rainy day. The boardwalk view was only steam. Then we hiked up to the viewpoint on a sunny day - right as a storm was moving in, but before it rained. Incredible!
The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center is a nonprofit organization that offers a place for animals threatened with extermination, such as grizzlies and captive-born wolves, to live in an alternative environment. The center has excellent keeper programs that allow kids to watch the animals in their natural habitats.
Awesome spot. We went in winter so it was a slightly different setup than summer but was amazing to see the bears and wolves so close! It's a short visit kind of place, if you really read every plaque and exhibit maybe 2.5 hours. If you go strictly for the animals 1-1.5 hrs if you take your time. Gift shop was priced competitivly with the surrounding gift shops, and the best part is the proceeds go to the center... Great experience, will definitely do it again.
Outraged Lemur — Google review
Kids will love this place... if they are into bears, wolves or wildlife in general. The animals are active under normal conditions, even if sleeping, you can see something. Gift shop has a ton of neat stuff, if you want. There is even a little play ground if your little one gets board with everything else. I think the Bald Eagles need a little more space and the fish and otter sanctuary is very cool! If you have a few hours to spend, this is an easy choice! Enjoy!

While staying in West Yellowstone, we visited the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. Tickets allow you to visit over a two day period. There are several enclosures featuring wolves, grizzly bears, and other wildlife. These allow excellent viewing and photography while providing animals a natural environment. Diligent attention is given to the care of animals at the center. The staff are knowledgeable and gladly respond to questions, including why each animal is there.

We enjoyed our stop here. The bears were engaging and active. The owls were neat and awesome to see. The otters are always cute and fun to watch. The small squirrels were entertaining as well. The wolves were pretty to see.
Shauna Wescott — Google review
Best place to visit to see Grizzly bears and wolves. For those who don’t camp don’t get a chance to see the mighty grizzly bears and wolves, so this is the right place to see them. The discovery centre has an entry fee $16 per adult and can be visited anytime within 24hrs from purchasing the ticket. They also demo how to use bear spray, bear habitat and how to handle the situation in case of contact with bears. (Should be booked early to book the slot). The entrance shows a display of bears, their first encounters, life cycle, museum kind of and then we enter into their live habitat where u see bears, wolves, raptors, otters, and squirrels (other species) that undergo hibernation.
It also has shopping area to purchase various items.

An absolute must-see when you visit West Yellowstone! The staff, facilities, and "residents," ie, the grizzlies, wolves, otters, ground squirrels, et al, happily co-exist. We enjoyed a remarkably excellent visit during the first week in April.
Carmel Gabrial — Google review
This is an amazing sanctuary for bears that are impacted by human conflict. This center educates on how to prevent bear interaction with humans. One of the most enlightening demonstrations is "camping in bear country" where they set up a typical tent scenario and let the bears do what they do. The wolf packs are beautiful, they are adding new areas for the animals to enjoy. The entrance pass is good for entry for 2 days.
Joanna Johnson — Google review
It was a really nice place. I was visiting from Alberta and making it to the discovery Center was on my list. It close to closing time (late afternoon) so the wolves were a bit more active which was nice. The bears were also out and about and we got see them feed I also got to see a demonstration on how to properly use bear spray. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in west Yellowstone. I also got to see some birds of prey. It's non-profit so that is also a good reason to support the center.

This is a fun place, and my 9 year old really enjoyed it. It's pretty small, but the bear habitat is really cool. They do a great job of keeping the animals active, which is more than I can say for most zoo type places. My son enjoyed getting to go into the bear habitat to hide food (small additional cost-no bears present😄). I would give it 5 stars, but it's just too small. They are expanding, so maybe in the future, I'll be able to bump it up a star!
Jake Sube — Google review
Incredible experience! Very affordable! You get to see live bears, wolves, a hawk, two bald eagles, and some otters! This is a great activity if you have children as well, around mid-day they have an activity where children can hide food in the exhibit (with the bears put away of course) and then once everyone is out, they can watch the bears look for their food! One price for the whole day! Smaller museum inside as well and more activities outside.
Melissa Moreno — Google review
My family with small kids stopped here on our last day at Yellowstone. It was a nice visit to see the animals they care for at this rescue. The bear habitat is very impressive. They rotate which bears are in the enclosure regularly. Each time the bears come in, they are looking for the food hidden by the caretakers, which is very interesting to watch. The eagles, owls and hawks were fun to spot, as their natural camouflage hid them from plain sight.
The display of trash cans and coolers that bears broke into was really interesting, especially to see how they did it.
We spent about an hour there and were able to see all the exhibits.

The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center is a not-for-profit wildlife park and educational facility which opened in 1993 that is located in West Yellowstone, MT. It is open 365 days a year. They have rehabilitated animals and lots of bears and wolves that they rotate every few hours through various outdoor displays. They also have giant aquariums for local river and lake displays. Some include local fish; otters; etc.; dioramas; etc. The displays, dioramas, etc. are spread out among different buildings and outside areas and have excellent descriptions. A great organization to visit and support.
Eric Telmer — Google review
One of the smaller AZA accredited sanctuaries but worth the visit. Of course the bears and wolves are main animals which are well taken care of. They change up their environment constantly to stimulate the animals and create similar changes they would experience in the wild. If you don’t see them out, just move on to another area or wait 15 minutes. We went in the afternoon around 3:30 and shortly after they fed the animals which was cool to see, they would hide the food to keep animals active and to interact with changes in environment. Workers were very educated as well ready to answer questions.

Such a fun time! We didn't see much in the park as far as animals go, so I'm glad we got to see these Grizzly bears! The wolves were just lounging so we only saw their fur lumps and an occasional head lift. The Grizzly bears are just another thing-amazing!

This is a GREAT place! Our family stopped here on our way into Yellowstone and really enjoyed our visit. The exhibit and habitats are excellent and there is a LOT of areas to view the animals. They have several rescue animals and include otters, birds of prey (golden and bald eagles, owls, etc.) In addition to the grizzlies and wolves. Weather does NOT affect your ability to see the animals and they have covered areas to keep you dry or shaded. An awesome facility, totally worth the visit. Pass is good for 2 consecutive days so save your receipt!

We really loved this place. We got there right when it opened at 9:00am on a Saturday and that was a good call because it got busy pretty quickly by about 9:30am. All the wolves were active when we first got there which was interesting to watch. They were all just lying around by the time we left. The grizzly bears were awesome we saw 3. They rotate them in and out and let them forage for food that they hid. The zoo keepers are great and provide information on the animals while you view them. The aquarium area with the otters is amazing but gets crowded fast. We had it to ourselves for a while since we got there early. Overall very nice facility with great information on animals. Also they give AAA auto club member discounts on general admission. It was $15.50 for an adult and $10.50 for a child. Definitely a must see for the wolves and grizzlies up close if you are into animals.

This place was amazing. My niece loved seeing the wolves, owls, and otters. The bears were so big, but a little too boring for her liking. The entire facility is fascinating. I learned a lot about bears and wolves. My niece, who is very conservative with her money. Informed me, " These gift shop prices are too expensive, $25 for a $10 stuff animal, they crazy."

We really do enjoy going here every time we go to yellowstone. There's a museum that you walk through that has stuffed bears, bear facts, and interactive screens where you can learn about bears and a small theatre to learn about wolves and bears. The wolves are usually only on the far left side, and are all out. but they are pretty and look well taken care of. The Bear exhibit only has one bear out at a time, but it's interesting to listen to what these bears would do in the wild and how they simulate that here. The otters are cute but the most I've ever seen are 2. Gift shop is expensive but it has some unique gifts. I definitely recommend it! 🐻 🐻❄

This place is amazing! I loved seeing the fauna there! Otters, fish, birds of prey, wolves, bears..Oh my!! The staff people we spoke to were nice and informative. The details provided about the bears were educational. I don't know if this was a default condition, but when we purchased our tickets, we were informed we could use them for the next day, as well, which is a great value! Keep up the good work!
PS: The only thing I found a little odd/funny was, one of the caps there had the establishment's name on it, but a silhouette of an otter was on the cap, not a grizzly or wolf 😄

We woke up to the wolves howling, it was awesome! The wolves were adorable, the bears were showing off for us, and the birds were just chilling. The otters were some of the cutest animals we've seen in captivity in a long time. The bears were all saved from stupid humans and the birds were all injured and now live here. The gift shop was nice, get a picture with the big stuffed bear!

We visited the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery center after the recommendation from one of our other tour guides, and were so happy to have made the choice to do so! It was really interesting and informative to learn about the stories of the animals that were there and to learn more about those animals in general. The naturalists and staff were helpful and knowledgeable, and the mission of the center is so important.
The Museum of the Rockies located in Bozeman, Montana is a world-class cultural and natural history museum that boasts an extensive collection of dinossaur fossils. The museum features a fully mounted T. Rex skeleton that was completely uncovered in Montana. The museum also features exhibits on regional and native history as well as laser planetarium shows.
The exhibit was amazing! So many kinds of dinosaur bones and fossils and very cool American Indian displays as well as some antique cars and quilts and replicas of the way people used to live. Went to the planetarium. It was somewhat interesting, but not enough to maintain my focus. I had hoped that Montana Sky would've been showing all of the stars at night and expanding to an outer space journey showing galaxies and constellations from telescopes and in space. That would've been amazing for the planetarium room.... Instead, it was just diagrams basically of the stars in our system and how to find them. Well, that's what I got out of it. Regardless, the Museum of the Rockies is definitely worth seeing. Their gift shop is very nice, too.

The morning was perfect! No wait and the staff was super friendly and helpful in guiding us on how to see everything in the museum. Perfect for littles who love dinosaurs and there are other exhibits and artwork that I enjoyed so much. Agree with other reviews that this is a nice stop to make if you're in the area.

Though my daughter (age 5) enjoyed herself and doesn't know the difference, I have to say that there was disappointment in my heart that the animatronic dinosaurs are gone. They really brought paleontology alive for me when I was younger!! The wheel on the dime collector was missing, and not one of the pencils at the drawing station in the interactive portion was sharp enough to actually use. We also were unable to make it to the kids show at the planetarium as it is available only once in the whole week! We'll be returning, of course, because there isn't anything to compare in the greater area, and she did still enjoy her experience.

This museum has a full t-rex skeleton. This alone will be worth the full price of admission for some. There’s actually a lot about dinosaurs here, as well as exhibits about the natives of Montana and even some classic cars. A planetarium is also here, but it is pretty cramped and the video they showed, while interesting, did make half the audience dizzy.
This place will be more interesting soon when they get their new temporary exhibits up, but none were there on this day. Still a rather good museum all things considered.

The Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana, offers an informative and engaging showcase of DaVinci's works and inventions, providing remarkable insights into the creative genius of this ahead-of-his-time man. The museum's diverse exhibits, including the captivating dinosaur display and a collection of transportation and housing artifacts, add to the experience. The Living Farm exhibit at the Tinsley House offers a nostalgic journey into the past, perfect for photographers and those interested in history. With a range of displays and a 20-minute IMAX film, the visit can span 2-3 hours, allowing reflection on each exhibit. I visited the Museum of the Rockies in July 2023. Amazing museum and really enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit. The fossels were amazing to see and a must if you're passing through or staying in the Yellowstone area.

The Museum of the Rockies hosts seasonal rotating exhibits (microbes during our visit at the end of December 2023) as well as permanent installations exploring Montana's geology, paleontology and Old West history. The dinosaur exhibit is the best part of the museum. If you have young guests, the upper floor is a good place for babies and small children to play and learn too. For an additional fee, there are regular planetarium shows, and seasonally a historic working farm.
As in-state, but out-of-town guests, we visit once or twice a year. Rotating exhibits are a hit or miss, but we always look forward to visiting the dinosaurs, seeing a planetarium show and shopping in the gift shop.
Imagine my shock and disappointment to learn that as of January 2024, MOR is no longer honoring ASTC members from Helena, even though it is 99 miles outside the local area of Bozeman. Since there are so few museums in Montana as it is, this really is a blow to our cultural and learning opportunities.

The dinos are fascinating, and they have some great exhibits, but they had no rotating exhibit, and the price was the same. It isn't the biggest of deals but there wasn't much else to see besides the dinos, cars, a native American exhibit (which I could talk about but wont), and the planetarium shows that we're, sorry to say, lack luster. I LOVE a good museum, and this was good...just needed someone to run the planetarium that didn't make me want to sleep. Super nice, though.
Fantastic Family Fun Day for 6 (ages 11-47). Highly recommend the Zip & Dip package. Perfect introduction of both activities leaving my kids wanting more, "next time can we do class 4 rapids and the 6 bridge zip". Thank you to the staff for unforgettable experience for our family.

We were fortunate enough to be able to book in on the same day for White water rafting. Our guide was Gareth and he did an amazing job with us (2 adults and 2 children).
It was so hot outside that it was a great pleasure by each boy to be dunked in the water where it was calm.
Gareth was very effective at mitigating any dangers that we could have faced, especially with young children. At no point did any of us feel overwhelmed for our levels.
We found all of the rest of the staff to be friendly and more than willing to assist us with anything that we needed.
We highly recommend families to come here and enjoy the nature of the river.

We booked a private boat for a family friendly "less challenging" whitewater trip as we had 2 young kids (ages 6 and 7) coming along. The river is high this time of year so it was a lot faster and rougher than expected. They put us with a senior guide, Robert and he was awesome! He gave clear instructions, and the kids were screaming with excitement (thankfully the photos confirmed this) the whole time. From booking the trip, getting outfitted with all the gear, drop off/pickup, etc....it was all super organized and easy! We all had a great time, felt completely safe and would highly recommend Montana Whitewater!

We had fantastic weather (I don't think Montana Whitewater can take credit for that, lol) and a really fun crew on our trip down the Gallatin. We did the less challenging white water rafting with our 7 year old. Henry was our guide and kept us entertained in the calm water and in the action during rapids
We also did a zip line with Kaiden and Chase (Chance?). These guys were amazing. Kaiden had our son attached to him for the zips, and he was incredibly patient. Our son was TERRIFIED in the beginning, but by the end he was laughing
Thank you for the great memories!!

Great skiing at Big White. We had a wonderful Christmas in April with over 30 inches of new snow in a week. Terrain is awesome - from beginner to world class expert. Steeps, breathtaking views, tree skiing, blue cruisers, and big terrain park - there's something for everyone. I love the bubble chair lifts with heated seats. The village is small but has lots of character. We stayed at the Huntley Lodge and it was great, nicely updated. Will be back again soon.

Great resort. Lots of run options, large ski lifts with bubbles to protect you from the weather. Lines are short due to large and fast lifts. The staff is fantastic. The map shows lots of beginner hills. Brought my boys who are beginners and I think they are overly optimistic as many of the beginner slops are more advanced. Great place for experienced skiers not as great if you are a beginner.

This ski resort is HUGE. You could easily spend 2 days here and not repeat a run. The amenities are awesome. Heated seats on some lifts. Covers to pull down over you when it snows. They have great areas for beginners— our 7 year old had a great time. But also double black options for experts. I love that they have an excellent adaptive ski program associated with the resort. We didn’t find that until the day we left, but still be back to have our daughter with Down syndrome take a class. The lift tickets here are pricey. No question. We used our mountain collective passes which made that part easier to swallow for us. 2 days at Big Sky almost parts for the entire pass.

Huge! You would need several days to ski the whole resort, there are lots of various terrains and excellent lift and staff. The mountain is beautiful and you gotta go to the top if it's a sunny day! The base is not very good this year considering it's already March, I stuck on rocks multiple times when ski on seemingly untouched powder. Very easy to find parking and shuttles are very frequent if you park far from main base.

I booked the condo my friends own in Village Center for the week. The condo itself was very nice and clean, and the front desk staff members were friendly during my few interactions with them.
The relatively few on-resort dining establishments that were open were somewhat often closed during their posted business hours, leaving us to eat something we didn’t want or go off-resort.
The check-in process was confusing, and involved going to a different building than where we were staying, only to have someone escort us to another parking lot after quite a wait and get us checked in at the building where we were staying. I’d rather have been able to go to our parking area directly.
I was to park in the owners’ lot per my friends, but it was closed for an event the weekend we arrived. It was open after that for parking, but we were never given the code we asked for to access it, and had to park farther away during our time here. It was no dealbreaker, but for what it costs to own a condo here, I’d think the owners’ lot should always be available for them and their guests to use.
The hiking/biking trails and the disc golf courses are excellent. The hiking and biking trails are fantastic. The resort itself is in a beautiful location. It’s an outstanding place to get away and recharge.
Overall, the stay was very enjoyable, and the minor annoyances were acceptable considering the rates available at the time I booked. For people paying the current asking prices to stay here, the resort should do better.

Had a fantastic week here March 10-18. Great dump of snow midweek to give a couple of days of fresh powder - terrain is amazing with broad spread of difficulties from green all the way to triple? black diamond runs... The lifts are efficient and mostly with short lines. The tram system to the top of Lone Peak is a pay as you go system, with an additional daily fee on top of your existing lift pass. This cost varied from $50-80USD/Day and is based on expected demand. The tram caries only about 10-12 people each time, and only leaves every 5minutes or so, hence the wait times can be very long to get the lift (we waited 65 minutes), even when they only seem short in length. On a powder day, you feel a bit like you're letting the day go to waste a bit by standing around... But the terrain on lone peak is less travelled, so snow is less tracked. We had a deep powder run down Liberty Bowl (waist-deep powder) which was minimally tracked, so even for the cost of the tram add-on, I am still glad we did it!! It was phenomenal!!
Overall, not the cheapest place to have a family ski holiday, and probably would find a trip here with my whole family too cost prohibitive, but as this was taken as part of a conference trip, the tax deductible nature of many expenses made it pretty affordable overall...

Disclaimer trail maps make it look bigger than it is. It’s still massive. Don’t take the moose lift, it’s 20 minutes with no bar. But the glades are perfect. The bowl is fun. The catwalks are are long and the trails are smooth

This was an incredible and fantastic adventure. It is a thrilling activity surrounded by the gorgeous Gallatin National forest. Our zip-line guides were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this zip-line to anyone visiting the Yellowstone or Bozeman areas.
Only one word of caution, please check their website for weight by restrictions for safety. You can also rent a mountain bike, you can bike from top to bottom. There’s a lift that can take you to the top.

I have to say that we were truly amazed with the facilities, activities, food and service. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We came in July to visit some of the area’s national parks and wished we would have stayed one extra day to spend time on the grounds. We stayed in the Huntley Lodge and our breakfast was included in the Chet’s Restaurant. You never really have to leave the resort and there is no shortage of activities. Highly, highly recommend staying here!

I live and work at the big sky resort, our snow paths are phenomenal, a lot of various locations to rip the Nar worth every minute. The area host several events yearly such as archery, weddings, snow events, hiking events. Really worth looking into if you are a fellow Nomad like myself.

We had been coming to Big Sky for decades until they raised the ski rates a while back. However, we were able to take advantage of the early season ski and stay prices. The new upgrades on this mountain are surely worth it. Heated chairlifts, no lines, great customer service!!! Food was great and everyone was very helpful and friendly.
Geoff at Huntley Lodge was great and our first point of contact at checkin.

If there's ever a place suitable for skiers and boarders who have not once been on the slopes as well as those who have been on the slopes from the time they were in diapers, Big Sky is the place to be. It is truly massive, so much variety of terrain, amazing snow quality and gorgeous views. You want to do it Big, you do it at Big Sky.

The Good
- The Huntley Lodge is very nice and comfortable. The pool/hot tub area is nice however the jets were not working in one of the hot tubs.
- The breakfast was great! Plenty of choices and a great meal to start the day.
- The Peaks Restaurant and Cabin Bar & Grill were outstanding. Great dinners at both.
- Loved the Exchange area to get a quick bite, drink, and pickup groceries - however the lines for checkout was long and slow.
- The demo shop was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
- Ski valet guys were friendly and considerate.
- The skiing was fantastic! Lift staff were great!
The Bad
- Bell people didn't ask if we needed help with our bags when we arrived. We weren't directed to the ramp to roll our bags up.
- Check-in person had a bad attitude and was not helpful. Didn't solve problems especially for those who are first-timers.
- A lot of room noise from floor above. Walls and ceilings don't limit noise well.
- A lot of misdirection and miscommunication from ski rental shop when returning ski equipment.
- Ski instructors are great but more helpful when either be asked to help or being paid for a lesson.
We had a great time at Big Sky and would recommend it. I believe there may be need for additional training in soft customer service skills.

Very nice resort that is huge. They have a little bit of everything for everyone. My only complaints are the prices of everything. Be prepared to spend a lot of money if you come to visit or want to ski. We did a full day on Saturday February 4th, with lift tickets and rentals, and our son did a ski school for his age group (age 7). We wanted to do a half day Sunday. My buddy who did a full day Sunday paid $248 for a full day ticket, while I got a half day ticket around 1 pm for my son and I and it was $200 for me and $130 for him. He was a beginner and did not get off the magic carpet. That’s one thing that’s not clear on the website if a lift ticket is required or not for the magic carpet, or if I needed one to help him or not. Another thing was at the end of his lesson on Saturday his instructor said that they offered half day lessons and we should sign him up for Sunday. When we went to sign him up for Sunday we were told they don’t do half day lessons for his age group, that we could book a half day private lesson for $875 or a full day private lesson for $1075. Two waters at Madison village was $10.75. So just prepare to spend about double on everything. Nice resort with lots to do just budget accordingly.

Big Sky is arguably the best ski resort in the continental US. I like it because there is so much variety in terrain. The only negative is the village is not at the resort unlike Vail or Whistler, so you have to drive a couple miles to have more food, beverage, and entertainment options.

Dangerous ski place. Very crowded and the ski patrol does nothing to control the situation. There is a separate area for beginners but it full of teenagers going 100 mph going back to the lift. I saw several colitions and serious falls in a green run called Mr K and it was supposed to be a "slow" area.

Beautiful place but it’s up on the mountain not in the little town. It’s an absolutely beautiful drive up here from big sky.
Service was excellent, including a call letting us know the restaurants up in the hotel were closed because of the off-season.
Would probably be incredible to stay here if you were skiing.
Room rates in big sky are insanely high. But got a decent rate for this place online prepaid.

Great ski hill but man the conditions are rough.
The atmosphere is wonderful. DJ in the evenings. Almost a steamboat party vibe.
Runs are slightly shorter.
Not a fan that you have to pay for the tram. But I guess it keeps down the traffic.
A lot of chair lift issues and the lines have been pretty long

I spent a week snowboarding at Big Sky with friends. The mountain is fantastic. The scenery beautiful. Nice long runs at all levels. Nice lifts. No long lines. Only negative is the cost of the lift tickets. Very expensive.

I recently visited Big Sky Resort and had a truly enjoyable experience. The resort offers stunning views, excellent facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great destination for ski enthusiasts.
However, I feel it's important to mention that the pricing seems quite steep, especially considering that more than half of the mountain was closed during my visit. While I understand the costs associated with maintaining such a large resort, a daily lift ticket price of $234 felt excessive given the limited access. It would be beneficial for guests if the pricing reflected the actual availability of the trails and facilities.

Beautiful mountain and gorgeous resort. As an amateur skier, I was surprised by the difficulty of the runs, but really enjoyed them all. Little to no line for the lifts, nicely groomed runs, variety of food options, and excellent lift service. Every Monday and Wednesday they have avalanche dog meet and greet, which was a lot of fun and educational. Highly recommend visiting Big Sky for your next ski/snowboard trip. Keep in mind the drive from Bozeman to Big Sky can be difficult at night, even in great conditions.

We spent New Years Eve at Big Sky and then Jan 8th at Big Sky for snow biking. We were up at Madison Village for the snow biking. The guys at the rental spot were nice and helpful, and making sure our 10 year old was comfortable. The snow bikes are highly recommended! They are so much fun! People operating the ski lifts were also helpful to slow or stop the ski lifts so our daughter could load and unload safely.

We went by on a Monday when the boat tours are not in service. I don’t know if it is worth the stop if you can’t go out in a boat. The view isn’t that spectacular just from land. I'm only giving 4 stars, because of the dinner, what we paid was not worth it, at all! $59 for a steak dinner.....I didn't get a steak, I got 4 thin cut strips of steak, some potatoes and a salad. My husband said the chicken w/ fettuccine was good....but again, not worth what we paid
The Cathedral of Saint Helena is a gorgeous Catholic church built in 1914, with impressive twin spires that draw inspiration from Vienna's Votive Church. The stunning architecture is well-maintained, and the steeples tower into the sky while bells clang overhead. Visitors can't help but feel awed by the grandeur of God's glory within its walls. Even young children are enchanted by running around and exploring this amazing space.
Look I was not expecting to have a spiritual experience today. I came to town to visit the place that my family came from. But I didn't really have any idea what I was going to do when I got here. I saw this cathedral from a ways away and decided to check it out. As I got out of the car the bells in the tower began to chime. I claimed the steps hesitantly not wanting to interrupt anyone praying, but the room was empty. I stood in awe of the sight of this place. It took my words. My daughter had questions which I did my best to answer and when it came to the lit prayer candles. She wanted to do one. So together we lit one for our family which is no longer with us. And... It just hit me really deep. This place is a whole different thing, and it's beautiful

Even our 17 month old seemed pretty impressed! We've *actually* never seen her have so much fun inside a building like that, she was so happy running around and giggling and looking around super excited, it must have seemed like a big fun house to her LOL we couldn't help but let her have fun while trying our best to maintain a respectful level of reverance 😆

It was so much fun! The carousel went pretty fast. My two daughters and I pulled plastic rings from a dragons nose as we were going around. It was challenging to grab a ring but we got all of them. The last ring is brass and whoever gets it, gets a free ride! I'm in my late 60's and felt like a kid again, riding a horse on a carousel. We laughed so much and rode the carousel a couple of times. The elderly (older than I) gentleman that was in charge, told us that a 97 year old woman got on a horse last month. She holds the record. It's for all ages and you are never too old to ride a carousel. Cute little gift shop. Friendly and fun staff there. A great experience and a must do if you are visiting Missoula, Montana.

We come here for our daughter’s birthday every year and it’s magical. This year we came on a Saturday and even though it was busy, we still barely had to wait to get on. The attendant saw our daughter’s pretty dress and asked if it was her birthday. Then he announced her by name over the intercom and had everyone tell her happy birthday. People even came up to her later and gave her their unused tokens so she could ride over and over. It was the highlight of her entire birthday week, and ours too. We found out later the man’s name is Jeff, and we’d like to thank him especially for making our daughter’s special day so incredible!

Whitefish Mountain Resort is a ski mountain that also offers a ton of summer activities like hiking, biking, and zip lining. This resort is located in the small town of Whitefish, Montana.
Plenty of runs and wasn’t too crowded for right after Christmas. My kids and I enjoyed this mountain. There are more than enough instructors to go around if you’re in need of lessons such as my youngest did. Great place to start them young. Ski terrain is very diverse, from steep glades to mellow groomers, the mountain truly has a run for all abilities! We visited in late March and still had good snow. It’s more firm in the morning so we headed to the back bowl to experience some northernly facing slopes and it was much softer back there. Plenty of pow stashes to be found if you know what your doing! 10/10 will be back again!

The weather wasn’t great the day we went so that may cloud my judgement but overall we enjoyed the place. There was plenty of parking and we figured out where to go after stopping once to inquire about the ticket office. The food we got in the lodge at the top was mediocre at best. The trail did have a confusing sign when we were coming down and we couldn’t find our way to the blue slope. We were avoiding black diamonds. We would definitely come back with better snow conditions and try again and pack a lunch. The resort is a quick 10-15 minute drive from the town of Whitefish and we absolutely adored the town. Had lots of fun checking out coffee shops and dinner venues and shopping along the way.

Fantastic variety. No one will be complaining. Trees galore, moguls galore, steep, gradual and choices to choose all in a single run from Summit (chair 2). Easier stuff on chair 3 along with terrain park and half pipe. Chair 11 should be experts only as all blues require a lot of double poling. Cute chutes throughout. Better value than any Colorado bargain hills.

Big Mountain is excellent. Affordable, unpretentious and a wide range of runs. El Niño has devastated ski resorts around North America this winter but Whitefish had been able to stay open and slowly open new runs. Beware low and flat light conditions and bring the right type of lenses.

This is my favorite ski hill in Montana hands down!
When the cloud cooperate you can see The Crown of the Continent from the top. Just stunning!
So many runs for all levels.

Great two days on the mountain. Friday was far less busy than Saturday. Good dining options on the hill and the staff was great all around the mountain. Only issue is it took forever in traffic to get off the mountain on Saturday.

Never fails to disappoint (we have been very lucky weather wise). Great mountain with lots of terrain to explore. First time bringing the kids this season, and they really progressed with the more advanced terrain. Bierstube is a favorite for apres.
The stunning Lake Coeur d'Alene presents ample opportunities for recreational activities. With its picturesque surroundings, visitors can indulge in a range of water sports, take seaplane rides or bike on multi-use trails that run along the lake. The downtown area of Coeur d'Alene has plenty of Huckleberry products and excellent dining options to explore.
Vast lake in north Idaho. Nice scenic byway to drive

Scenic lake and a beautiful city. The place offers well maintained bike lanes with boating, kayaking and paddle boarding activities. Best weekend getaway for families and young couples. Around the lake the town offers a good number of restaurants, cafes, and museums to spend a relaxing evening.

Lake Coeur d'Alene was beautiful and huge there are small towns around the lake many with docking... restaurants and bars. We rented a pontoon for a fair price...it was the best way to see all areas and a few towns. We spent the whole day on the lake it was a great time!

Beautiful Lake! Amazing place to vacation. The lake and watersports, seaplane rides, and biking/multi-use trails around the lake. Coeur d'Alene is a great little downtown to walk, with Huckleberry everything, good restaurants. Take a short boat ride from Coeur d'Alene resort to the golf course and have an amazing breakfast on the patio overlooking the floating green

If I win the lottery I'm buying a home here, beautiful lake, with the forested hills surrounding the lake, love it, very friendly people here in Idaho!!!

Beautiful, large lake great for boating, fishing and sightseeing the beautiful lake homes along the way.

There are a lot of uses for logs on the lake. A substantial amount of them have broken free and lay haphazardly along the edge of the water. For being so far out in this wilderness that part was disappointing. Otherwise it was very nice to be out on the lake!

The second-largest lake in Idaho is less than ten miles east of downtown, with a comfortable surface temperature of around 70 °F in the summer months.
Conveniently, the largest city on the lakeshore, Coeur d’Alene, is right next door to Post Falls, which puts a wealth of amenities and experiences at your fingertips.
You can take a scenic cruise on the lake, walk a network of well-maintained trails, visit attractions like a cute llama farm, dine in the charming downtown area, go fishing or simply lie back next to this natural wonder.
City Park has an exquisite lakeside promenade and a stretch of beach, while McEuen Park has recently been renovated with a large splash pad that children adore in summer.
Lastly, Kokanee salmon migrate to the lake in fall and winter to spawn by the gravelly shoreline, and this event attracts dozens of bald eagles, best viewed at Wolf Lodge Bay, a few miles east of Coeur d’Alene proper.
Manito Park is a beautiful 90-acre park in Spokane, Washington that is open daily without charge. The park features rose, lilac, and formal gardens as well as a pond. It is a peaceful place to enjoy nature and is one of the best things to do in Spokane.
Best park in Spokane! Stunning variety of unique and well maintained gardens, lovely greenhouse, large duck pond, numerous walking paths, playgrounds, splash pad and restrooms. Beautiful anytime of the year. In the summer they have a nice outdoor cafe where you can get drinks, lunch or ice cream. In the winter the have a light show in the greenhouse and throughout the park.

Amazing park, everything is green and trees are blossoming;there are a few flowers such as hyacinth, magnolias. The best is Gaiser Conservatory, opened every day except Wednesday, from 9 am to 3:30pm. That is an exceptional expo of cacti , exotic plants, orchids. You can spend an hour in the conservatory easily. See a few pics. This was a real treat. We will be back.

Gorgeous park in Spokane. Wish I was able to get more pictures, but I didn't charge my phone before visiting. This park is a must-see when visiting Spokane. I went here with some friends and enjoyed a beautiful walk in the park and enjoyed all that the park had to offer. Definitely allow yourself a couple of hours to explore the park. There is a playground here for kids and restrooms as well. I believe we could have spent all day here. I hope to visit the area when the garden is in full bloom. Absolutely gorgeous.

Manito Park was beyond stunning and I’m excited to come back throughout the seasons. This park is beautiful and offers a variety of gardens. They also have a playground to bring your littles to that is fun for any age. I fell in love with the Japanese Garden, flower arrangements and the beautiful landscape. This is a wonderful place to visit and the perfect place for a date!

One of my favorite parks to visit growing up! Always nice to stop by when visiting Spokane. They have a beautiful rose garden and the conservatory is nice too. If you make it during lilac season also really beautiful.

What an unexpected slice of paradise! We missed the Japanese Gardens, it closes at 6pm, so I definitely have to get back here.
My visit was mid July. The roses appeared to be at the end of their season but wow! There were still plenty there and I could smell them before I could see them.
Thank you Spokane for a beautiful and huge park. It's so serene here. I hope the people who care for this place are adequately appreciated and thanked for what has to be a lot of maintenance work!

This is a must for any visitor to Spokane. Set on a beautiful hillside, multiple themed parks in one. We started at the top of the park and walked down to take it all in! There is a formal garden, rose garden, Dalia garden and a large pond. So cool!

This is a beautiful park. I gave it 5 starts, but would have given 4 1/2 stars if available. Only because their directional signage is very not clear. The gardens are well cared for and maintained. The conservancy was amazing, it has a variety of cacti and other exotic plants, I love cacti. The rose gardens not only had great variety, but I could smell the roses walking through. The Japanese garden was so peaceful. I could go on, I highly recommend a visit to the park. Talked your time and take enjoy it.

Very pretty place, went in early April so nearly nothing was blooming, but I imagine it's amazing later in the year. Walked all around the Gaiser Conservatory with impressive plants and flowers, the Japanese Garden was so beautiful and meticulously maintained, Duncan Garden would be gorgeous when everything is in bloom.

This was my first visit to Manito Park, and I would definitely recommend it. We went through the first week of November, and most of the annuals (like the Rose Gardens) had already been cut back. Workers were clearing garden beds as we walked through. Even with some missing, the walk was still beautiful. Gorgeous trees and perennials abound! I am excited to return in Winter for their Christmas Lights & then again in the Spring. With so much hussle & bussle in downtown Spokane, this lovely gem is a break from the headaches and offers a few mintutes of peace and tranquility.

Love love love this place ! It's the only place I resort to go to on special occasions when I don't have extra money to play with . I go to this place on my birthday every year . The cactus green house is my FAVORITE. The Rose Garden is a rose growing competition, all types of new rose species by growers. Then get judged and placed accordingly. All individual growers create their own unique rose and title them and place in competition . Its interesting ! The two toned bright pink and orange and white all in one rose..are my fave. The anise is a fave as well.

The Riverfront Park in Spokane, Washington is a beautiful park that features a Looff Carrousel from 1909, Rotary Fountain, and many other attractions. The park is located on 100 acres of prime land along the Spokane River and it is popular with visitors for its amazing views of the upper falls of the river as well as its expansive grounds.
Beautiful walk for all ages with lots of cool sculptures. Great showcase of the area. Little ice rink track for doing loops that was pretty unique, and a cool chalk art area under the bridges. The park is perfect for an afternoon or evening walk no matter the time of year. Lots of stuff closed, like the indoor carousel- I'm presuming because of Covid. Still a great walk none-the-less to enjoy the day and people/bird watch!

We had such an amazing time just exploring! There are multiple parks and activities; pedal cars and scooters you can rent at very reasonable prices, fun landmarks to learn the history of, and beautiful sculptures all over! We had so much fun just walking. It's also very close to downtown, so we were able to spend the day at the park and then go find several options to eat!

We attended the Park's 4th of July celebration. It was great! Packed but with all the things that can keep families busy, it was ideal. We went to the fossil park and splash pad, watched the symphony at the pavilion, and then sat in the grass near the clock tower to watch the fireworks. Our kids had a blast! Will be attending next year as well!

Wow! I've driven by this park and have yet to stop by. I'm so glad we did. It's absolutely beautiful here! The river makes this such a special place. The park is maintained well and I didn't see any liter. I did not see public restrooms here, but I'm sure they exist. The walking trails are paved and even, I was even able to walk with my cane without any problems. I definitely will be back! Thank you City of Spokane for maintaining this gem of a park!

Great place to walk, jog, bike, and run. Gets busy. Lots of things going on all at the same time.
The trails are nice. I would recommend always having someone with you, there’s a lot of homeless people there and no security what’s so ever.
Some areas are trashy and can small like marijuana, like many places around this city.
Stay close to any young ones. Stay in crowded areas. Watch for the bikers because there are blinds spot. People are supposed to walk their skateboard and bike but you know how people respond to regulations.
Lots to do and see. Very lively. Take precautions thats what I’m telling you.
Oh and people drive fast so watch twice before crossing. Still a lot of ricer on the West Coast (I’m from the other side of the States).

River front park was a good experience it is very urban which means that it is also quite busy and parking is a nuisance. The best way to get around river front park is on the Electric scooters and/ or bikes as the park is so big and has plenty of pathways.
That being said riverfront park is indeed very urban with fencing around all of the river and falls, there isn't a lot of nature to actually enjoy which is both fortunate and unfortunate.
If you're going in for a walk this park is definitely big enough to get your steps in, but most of what you'll see is sidewalk fence and some grass.
There is I think 3 bridges that go over the water, one of them is currently under construction as is a good portion of the park.

Took a road trip from Tri-Cities and spent most of the day here, rode the Numérica SkyRide which was short but had a cool view, 1st time on the Lime Scooters which we explored on for about an hour, left to watch a football game at Buffs, then returned to see the lights at the Pavilion. Overall it’s a great hang out spot, lots of things to see & do, we really enjoyed our little get away.

Waterfront Park in Leavenworth is a peaceful riverside park that offers various recreational activities such as walking and biking trails, play areas, and picnic spots. It's an idyllic destination that features magnificent trees and leaves, which gives it a serene atmosphere. The town of Leavenworth itself is charming with its German-inspired architecture but retains originality to create nostalgia.
Great trail near the river. Flat route. About an hour walk. You should go in a good whether but its nice also on a cloudy day (I was both and both and the difference is noticeable). Highly recommended when you are coming to Leavenworth.

Make sure to include a visit to the enchanting waterfront park during your trip to Leavenworth. It offers a surreal experience, with each season bringing its unique charm to this tranquil spot. It's a quaint and peaceful destination, and our usual routine is to begin at the waterfront park and then stroll into downtown as we make our way back.
A drawback is that the maps are not very informative, making navigation quite challenging for someone visiting for the first time, in my opinion.

Waterfront Park is just down the hill from the main street of Leavenworth and provides a nice respite from the bustle of the main drag. There is a nice playground for the kids, plus a nice walking path that goes along the water. Worth strolling down here for some exercise and change of scenery. A sign says to be watchful for bears; we didn't see any. (That's not a complaint!)

This is the best part of visiting Leavenworth, in my opinion. We walked it for the first time, the first few days of June. There are still flowers and sunning butterflies and dragonflies all over. There is an aproximately two and a half mile loop of mostly flat, gravel path. There are no tables. There were a few benches to sit and rest along the path. We only saw evidence of self-important types who are too good to clean up after thier dog or themselves once...a dog mess and granola bar wrapper dressed the trail as we wrapped up back by the bridge. A trash receptacle was feet away. Dogs are allowed, on leash...but for goodness sake, bring bags and clean up after them. No waste bags are provided along the trail. Bring your own and clean up.
A few other people were there but there were several points we felt alone for a few minutes as well. The view across the river, on the far side from town, is picturesque. There are plaques showcasing the biodiversity and history of the islands creation, which make up this park. There are public restrooms by the bridge, near the begining of the trail from downtown Leavenworth. There is also a neat, if crumbly staircased lookout at the trails fork before the bridge. We chose to go right and cross as going left keeps you directly by town.
It does get hot quickly already, so I suggest visiting before lunch. There is a significantly steep, if paved road to get down before you come to the entrance. Those with mobility issues may have an easier entry from the boat ramp...though the path is gravel and has some bumps.

Leavenworth is lovely this time of year and Waterfront Park is the best part of the trip. It was fairly crowded on the weekend of 23 October, but the leaves and trees muffle the sounds and it was so nice and quiet. And the leaves were spectacular. Leavenworth itself is a cute little town. Not quite German but does bring back memories. It's roughly a 2.5 hour trip from Seattle. Take route 2 over 90 and you will see amazing scenery. Be prepared to stop often to take in the views but do watch out for all the crazy photographers walking alongside the road to nab their shots.
