Cypress swamp with camping, boating & fishing amid diverse birds & animals, including alligators.
We had a great weekend here under the tall pines. Even through the sleet and cold, we managed to hike and rent canoes. The front staff is very kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we want to go back when it’s warmer. Additionally, we stayed in spot 42. It was the first level spot we have stayed in with our RV. Such a roomy campsite! Thank you so much for the great time!

This was a great weekend trip. We camped at a lovely spot that was well spaced from other campsites and offered shade. We rented a canoe for 24 hours. It was breathtaking and ethereal gliding silently through the moss covered Cyprus. All sounds seemed to be muted and other senses awakened while paddling in and out of the groves.

Caddo Lake, Texas, is a true gem! Its enchanting cypress trees, tranquil waters, and abundant wildlife create a magical experience. Perfect for nature lovers and adventurers alike, I highly recommend visiting this serene and picturesque destination.
The fishing opportunities here are fantastic, with a wide variety of fish species to catch. Whether you're a seasoned angler or a beginner, you'll have a great time casting your line.
For a delightful day out, there are lovely picnic areas where you can enjoy a meal amidst the natural beauty. It's a perfect spot to relax with family and friends.
Exploring the lake by boat is an unforgettable experience. The meandering waterways and mysterious bayous offer a glimpse into a diverse ecosystem teeming with wildlife.
If you're planning to stay longer, there are excellent campgrounds where you can immerse yourself in the peaceful surroundings. For added comfort, cabins are available too, providing a cozy stay amidst nature.
Safety is a priority at Caddo Lake, and the local authorities take great care to ensure visitors have a secure and enjoyable time.
Caddo Lake has it all - fishing, picnic spots, boating, camping, cabins, and a focus on safety. This Texas treasure promises an unforgettable retreat into nature. I can't wait to go back and create even more cherished memories!!!

Beautiful park. Serene vistas, placid mirror-like water, and friendly , knowledgeable, and overall simply great staff. The pads for sites 55 and 56 are entirely too close together. I shouldn't be able to hear the neighbor letting one rip. Some may complain about the adjacent bayou and the mudboat noise, but it's part of the charm for me. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. It's host to cool wildlife, including owls and raccoons. Help the rangers maintain the park and pack out your trash!

A quick trip to Caddo Lake State Park. We stayed in a cabin. It was appointed with all the basics you need and clean (you do need to bring linens, plates, silverware.... your camping just in a cabin; they do have a coffee maker in the cabin). Remember it's not a hotel, but rather a way to be in the park and experience the beautiful nature of Caddo Lake.
The park rangers were great and more than happy to tell you about the park, the area and much more. The trails are short and relatively easy. Saw Mill Pond is nice to just sit at and listen to the wildlife. There are canoes for rent by the hour. If you are looking for a place to stay in bayou territory this your place.

Loves this place! We camped in one of the cabins that has the screened walls. We pitched our tent inside where there’s a light and there’s a lock on the door from the inside. You can also bring your own lock to lock it from the outside. The rangers at the front station were nice and informative. We rented a canoe for 3 hours and it was $20. We paddled around the swamp and bayou and saw some beautiful stuff. We’ll be coming back for sure.

Beautiful State Park with wonderful views. There are elevated docks over the water with great views of the Bayou. The hiking trails were very nice and the trails were clear of fallen trees and kept natural. The steps up the hills were nicely spaced and not steep. Plenty of bridges that cross the small winding creek. The staff at the park are friendly and helpful.
David Kennedy — Google review
This is a beautiful park. The hiking trails are well kept but do have some incline. Make sure you bring insect repellent or you will be eaten alive.
Fiorella May — Google review
We visited in July, which I do not recommend. It is so hot. It is even more humid. The park is very nice and large. We stayed in a site with water and electric. The sites are nicely spaced out so you never feel like you are right on top of your neighbor. You can walk right down to the "lake" which I would call more of a swamp, but it is very pretty. Canoe rental is cheap and easy. My kids caught a spotted gar, bowfin, and bass all from the canoe in the pond area of the lake near the docks. The bathhouses are very nice and are kept clean, but they may be a pretty good hike from your site. Everything is bigger in Texas, including the bugs. The campground is also a short drive from a quaint town called Jefferson which is definitely worth the visit.

One of the best state parks in Texas.
I have added pictures to show some of its beauty.
You can get a paddle boat, bring your boat. Nice big trees. People are nice. The place is not crowded.
The campsites are great.
Jahidul — Google review
Really great place to go camping. You can go fishing in the pond completely covered with old Cypress trees. You can go hiking on the trails or just hang out around the camp fire. Able to go in and out after paying for your spot. They have enclosed "shelters" at each campsite if it starts raining (which it did for us). Great amenities. The only negative would be the earth shattering noises at night. It sounds like a space rocket in the distance, very loud and consuming, almost worrisome.

Love love love this place! We visited for 5 days and 4 nights in our RV. Best birthday yet 😍. The trails were nice. Our favorite was the one that went up to the ccc pavilion. We fished on the bayou, my hubby caught a little catfish. Didn't see any alligators, maybe next time.

Caddo Lake was the best state park experience! My boys loved fishing, canoeing and hiking. The park rangers and wildlife folks were all so friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging! Couldn't have asked for a better experience! The CCC built cabins were wonderful as well. My 11 year old said "This is the best camping experience I've ever had!"
We were so lucky to be here during their centennial celebration. We arr leaving with amazing memories!

Cado Lake is a serene haven, nestled amidst stunning natural beauty. Its crystal-clear waters, lush surroundings, and tranquil atmosphere offer a perfect escape. Whether fishing, kayaking, or simply relaxing, it's a must-visit for nature lovers. A hidden gem that leaves you refreshed and inspired.

We are staying in site 27 Armadillo Run Loop, it is very close to the Hwy 46 so there is constant sound of cars, if you walk down a few sites the sound is diminished and even better on the other side of the bathrooms. Those are pull through sites with full hookups.
We would not camp in this particular loop again we would camp further away from the road.
Bathrooms are large with showers, 2 stalls, one handicapped the non handicapped stall has a paper dispensed that intruders in your space.
Great fishing peer, and kayak put in spots. There are alligators in these waters but they are not aggressive.
Enjoyed the hiking loops, and CCC work that was done I. The 1930’s
Also nice boat ramp to put your fishing boat into the bayou that leads into Cado Lake.
Lots and lots of trees great shade, but little sun to warm you in the fall and winter camping.
Flamingo Moon Campers — Google review
This is a nice, but very small state park. There's one mile of hiking trails and canoe rental. After that, you're going to need board games. The park is relatively quiet and the mill pond campsites have great trees.
Brody Burks — Google review
Very unique environment. Didn't see any alligators. Historic park built in the 1930's. Great for kayaking through the flooded forest and the bayou channel.
Kevin Hennessy — Google review
This was an unexpected stop one weekend. I wish I were better prepared because the lake is best seen from a canoe. The day was cool and colder on the water and neither of us had the right clothing to stay warm for an impromptu canoe trip! Yet, even from the two access points we found, one for boats and the other a couple of piers with canoe rentals, the lake is stunning! We are definitely planning to return.

Great place to visit. Largest natural lake in Texas. Beautiful bald cypress trees not found in many places. Amazing winter beauty. I need to visit again next summer time.
Wonderful place for family vacation and camping.
Thejo Thomas — Google review
Well this place was definitely the high point of the holiday, great views on a lovely cold and still morning made for some great photos. We went during the week and it was pretty quiet so nearly had the place to ourselves for the first hour but I imagine it can busy at times.
Mark Isherwood — Google review
The scenery is breathtaking. The park's cypress swamps are unlike anything you've ever seen before. The trees are draped in Spanish moss, and the water is crystal clear.
The wildlife is amazing. The park is home to a variety of birds, including herons, egrets, and anhingas. You can also see alligators, turtles, and snakes.
The fishing is excellent. The park's lakes and bayous are teeming with fish, including bass, crappie, and catfish.
The hiking is great. The park has a number of trails that wind through the swamps and forests.
The boating is fun. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats to explore the park's waterways.
The camping is rustic. The park has a number of campsites that are located in the heart of the wilderness.
The stargazing is incredible. The park is located far from light pollution, so you can see the stars clearly.
The history is rich. The park was once home to the Caddo Indians, and there are a number of historical sites in the park.
The education programs are informative. The park offers a variety of programs that teach visitors about the park's natural history.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The park staff is always happy to answer questions and help visitors make the most of their visit.
One of the best lake tours i have done. $25 per person for 90+ mins is a steal. Do go for this tour if you are there. Captain Ron is very knowledgeable and tells history in details. He is very nice and polite and deals with kids v well.
A MUST do. You may or may not see alligators but i was okay with that. Ample of parking in restaurant parking lot and near Capt Rons swamp tour office. Boat was clean and blankets were available for those feeling cold...

We toured with Captain Ron last December 2022 and loved it! We decided to come back in June 2023 to see the summer colors! They were even more awesome and we saw a number of different channels and parts of Lake Caddo. We will definitely go again. It is a one-of-a-kind breathtaking environment.

Booked the 90 mins Swamp tour at Caddo lake with Captain Ron's Swamp tours. Firstly the booking process was very easy and the prices are very reasonable. Unfortunately a couple of our friends had to cancel at the last moment so I asked if we could get a refund and Jean was happy to issue us a refund without any questions, we really appreciate that. Secondly, we were late by 10-15 but still Ron and Jean accommodated us without any complaints. Once we reached there they welcomed us and quickly took us to the boat and started the tour. Captain Ron started the tour with a warm welcome and because it was windy and chilly he also mentioned they have extra blankets which we can use. He gave us so much information during the entire tour and answered all our questions. The entire ride was very pleasant and informative. I would definitely recommend this.

Great trip! Loved our tour with Uncle Ron's. The lovely business partner in the office was very sweet, loved her accent! Ron gave us a lot of information about the bald cypress trees, spanish moss and wildlife. Nice relaxing ride on clean pontoon boat. Very enjoyable, can't wait to go back!

Just had a tour with Captain Ron today, and it was absolutely an amazing boat tour (nice and clean boat). Not just “highly recommend” but a “must go” if you ever visit Caddo Lake!!! You’ll enjoy the entire 80-90mins of the lake view as well as learn some kind of history n science.
We’ll for sure come back sometime soon, and hopefully alligators and other animals are gonna show up then.

Captian Ron made this super enjoyable! He was very knowledgeable about the area and had such a friendly personality. The cypress trees were so pretty and he kept the ride interesting the whole time telling about the area and history. Very informative. Boat was super clean and roomy. All in all great experience and would do it again! Definitely recommend if you want to do something relaxing!

1 hour and 20 minutes tour. Good sightseeing of only 1 kind of tree as shown in the photos. Shoud try one time to know. The tour guide is so nice. He is willing to answer any questions of children. $105 for 2 adults and 2 children.

The tour is a relaxing way to see the cypress forest and the wildlife. The captain is super friendly, informative, and skilled. He made sliding between the trees in the large boat feel effortless.

Fabulous tour! Captain Ron effortlessly and passionately educated us on all things Caddo Lake. I especially enjoyed discovering how the tree knees support these amazing structures and how the cypress sap repels mosquitoes!

My daughter and I took a tour with Captain Ron and it was wonderful. He is so kind, calm, and informative. Saw a lot of beautiful waterways and got a lot of tips on navigating and when and where to see wildlife. Can't wait to go again. This tour lived up to every positive review I read. :)

So this is a fun find. They give guided tours of the house. Ours had lots of info on the stories & life he live here. The museum part is very good also. There are a few things to visit in area so well worth the trip.

The tour was very informative. The workers seemed like they enjoyed their job. I actually visited the Clinton Library in Little Rock the day before. There are a few differences in the information being put out. I arrived after the start of the last tour. The park ranger/tour guide gave me a tour anyway. I would recommend visiting. It's free.

Small gift shop. Many of the displays are placards of President Clinton and his family. We saw the inside of his birth home. The first floor consists of three rooms and no original furniture. The only item from his early childhood is a child's book which I didn't get to see. The Rangers were nice though.
Moving on with Old Man River Old man river — Google review
Don't judge a book by its cover. The visitor centre is tiny, but there is a never better place to learn about the early life of President Clinton. Highly recommend to start with the introductory video followed by an in-depth tour delivered by a ranger. The president lost his biological dad to a car accident and this is how he later inherited the family name Clinton from his step-dad. The care and love he received has determined his character, with an inclusive grandfather in the segregated era, and a hard-working mother. Most of the items in his birthplace house are not the originals, but from the time. I like the number cards which reflect how important his grandmother consider education is.

This was a wonderful national park stop. I did not know much about Clinton’s childhood and learned so much. The house is wonderful done. The Ranger was amazing and gave a great tour of the house!

I decided last minute to stop here on a cross country trip and was so glad I did. I got a private tour of the house since there was no one else visiting and the ranger who led the tour was very knowledgeable and passionate about everything. She made my experience so fun! I spent about an hour here which was a nice break from driving all day.

Great site and the Ranger tour was amazing none of the best I’ve ever been on.

Gained a lot more appreciation. These park services are amazing. The site needs more funding to match the National Park standards we've come to highly appreciate as of March 2024. The staff made it engaging and meaningful. The visitor center and bathrooms have ramps. There's a fairly big rectangle parking lot for RVs.
Joshua Rutherford — Google review
Surprisingly a lot more fun than I first expected but, you must take a tour with a park ranger. Especially to get a tour of the house the actual childhood home. The visitor center is just a random home adjacent the property. Thank you Ranger Cody, he did an amazing job showing us around and was able to answer all my questions.

This place is SMALL. like most suburban he would have more room and yardage. But the tour was amazing!!! Our tour guide was local.to the area, so it was literally listening to someone who grew up in the area during the time the Bill lived here. Absolutely worth the stop just to listen to her. The house is restored to period and if you tmhave a thing for vintage living this is also a great place to peek around at wallpaper, decor, layout, etc. Not really worth a trip on its own, this is a great place to stop on a road trip or if your going to be spending the day in Hope.

June 11, 2017: A small place but packed with information. I visited during the week and there were just a handful of people there but it is located in the town so it was a little confusing for maybe 3 minutes on where to park. The grounds were very well kept, very pretty. The Park staff were very knowledgeable. I walked around the home and grounds. I found it interesting that there were several things dedicated to his mother but not much of anything dedicated to his wife. Maybe because it was his birth home.

I was driving thru on a road trip to Memphis and had to make a stop to see Bill's house. They were closed when we drove thru, but it was worth the stop.

Thanks Jenny for spending time with is
Crater of Diamonds State Park is a distinctive geological attraction situated on more than 37 acres of land. It offers visitors the opportunity to search for diamonds, rocks and minerals in a thrilling treasure hunt experience. The park also boasts a well-maintained campground with access to excellent shower facilities and picturesque walking trails leading to nearby rivers. Although camping fees may be considered expensive at $42 per night, overall, Crater of Diamonds State Park is an enjoyable destination worth visiting again in the future.
Campground is a little pricey at $42 a night but we still had a great time. Shower house was some of the best I’ve seen and there’s nice walking trail to the river nearby. And of course the thrill of the hunt for diamonds! We would stay again

While the allure is to get rich quick, your chances of finding anything other than sweat and a fun time are pretty low.
That said, the cost to enter and dig ($10) was reasonable as was the cost to rent the tools ($15 for the full bundle but you can rent a la carte as well - note that a higher deposit is required but then returned).
Getting there early is a must to secure a spot at the water trough. Since there is almost no shade anywhere except the pavilions, bring a hat at the very least and a lot of drinking water. Heatstroke can creep up on you very easily because your hands feel cool when they are in the water.
El — Google review
It's was fun and challenging. You got to be there early if you visit during the summer so you'll get some shade. Other than that it is hot and you need to bring a lot of water and some things to give you shade. Also lots of sunscreen. If you are worried about the tools and other stuff you want to use for digging, they got it for rent. So just bring some clothes you are not worried about getting dirty, bring snacks and lots of drinks for hydration.
Salted Caramel Daisy — Google review
This was fun. Everyone was friendly. Staff are very professional. I could bring my dog with me. I camped, and the campground was well kept, and well patrolled. Can't give it 5 stars because, well, it was crowded. I thought coming in the off season would be a quieter experience, but I was wrong! Also, a gigantic family took the campsite next to mine on the second day of my visit (like 3-4 tents full and a floodlight/speaker) and were loud and obnoxious. Also, as another reviewer put it, some visitors are "all in" trying to get rich finding a diamond. I was just here to fiddle around, camp, and maybe find some crystals. I think it would be more fun to bring kiddos here and let them have a big time digging, hiking, and hanging out at the water park. Overall, though, it's a good place. Definitely felt safe.
Melissa Bruner — Google review
This was a cool experience! We did go on a weekend in spring, but decided to go early. We got there when it opened, and saw online that you could rent everything for the day or bring your own items to dig. Dig. Since we were from out of the area, we did rent everything from the state park. Park. The only thing that we brought were gloves, we decided to stop and get gardening gloves ahead of time. I'm kind of glad we did! It was pretty cold that morning, and that really saved our fingers. For checking out the items, they require you to make a larger down payment but then you do get some of it back for returning the items clean. I think we got a bucket, some pans, and then a shovel. That was pretty much all we needed.
We decided to head out into one of the farther corners of the designated space. We spent a little over an hour and a half perusing the areas. It was pretty fun to do as a family! We found a variety of different stones, and then when you bring the items back to check them in, they do have somebody sitting at a counter helping you determine what type of gems and stones you find. We didn't find anything worth money, but we did find some neat rocks.
Some helpful hints, if you have kids they will get muddy. When we went, it didn't rain for a few days, but both of our preteen kids got full of mud. They were even trying to stay out of the mud and they still got mud all over them. So I would recommend bringing a change of shoes and or clothes along. Probably a good idea to wear older clothes as well. Another good idea would be to bring a bag or something to store your rocks and gems in after you're done digging. Luckily we had a ziploc bag in the car, and we were able to store what we decided to take with us. We didn't think of that ahead of time. Would recommend going early if you can, as we were leaving later, buses of people were arriving. It definitely got busy!
They did have a nature center, gift shop, and good size parking lot. The people we encountered were very helpful and friendly.
Overall it was a very cool experience and we were glad we did it.

We didn't stay this time to mine/dig for diamonds, but did enjoy the River trail. It was really nice to see the paved ADA trail for over half the trail. The 2 fitness spots were nice as well. The placards along the trail were some of the best I've seen, and were very informative. Loved the footprint and leaf ones! The river view was nice, but wished there was a dock or pier to go out on. The non-paved part was really nice too, like you're a kid playing in the woods! Wear repellent for sure. Very easy & quick trail. Walked the short wildlife viewing trail as well. Didn't see any wildlife, might be nice to have some feeders for them to draw them in. Was a nice clearly marked trail. The campsites were nature friendly & tucked away, not right on top of each other. The visitor center didn't have much in stock, but was very informative as far as the history of the park and how to know you found a diamond.

This is a cool place to bring the family and just have fun. You can rent equipment or bring your own. Digging all day looking for rocks, gems and diamonds. Finders keepers on anything you dig up. Has a water station to sift through the dirt you dig up, places to sit and cool off and stations to refill your water bottles. A cool gift shop plus some info and interactive places to learn more about what you can find. Has a water park to cool of in afterwards.
Deborah Lutz — Google review
Very fun experience. The location was beautiful. The park had very informative information and provided beginner digging tools. Would highly recommend a visit. Gear to bring would include a chart to carry food and refreshments. Boony hats, sun tan lotion, and some type of sun shade covering. Digging equipment would suggest bringing a regular shovel or picking one up on the way.
Justice League — Google review
I really want to rate this 5 stars and brag about it, but it’s not my thing. We saw lots of folks that were “all in” on the concept, likely locals that have easy access to the place and can just visit whenever.
It’s essentially a large plowed field - it’s quite a few acres- and you’re just digging/sifting through mud or dirt. There’s no rock (for the most part) to scrape at and find the next big diamond. You’re just sifting through dirt in hopes that you’ll find something.
I lost interest after about an hour and really tried to make the most of it. But unless this is your “thing” you won’t likely enjoy it as much as diehards do. It was mind numbing.
Saving grace? The staff inside the shop were super duper helpful and friendly. The gift shop had quite a few fun things so that was cool. The staff out back are able to help you identify anything you find, so that’s cool.
I have no interest in returning and would be unlikely to recommend this to anyone who approached me specifically about it.
Aaron Barbee (A-A-Ron) — Google review
This was a very interesting and educational visit. While we didn't find any diamonds we still got the thrill of the hunt. My teen kids who normally don't go outside had fun digging and sifting.
It would be nice if there was more drinks and snacks but a town isn't too far away and there may be more available during the summer.
They post info on finds, last rain, and last plowing. You should do a little walk around and find a place not as well traversed to increase your chances. Overall a fun afternoon of family fun.

This is a fun place to visit! There was a 7.46 carat Brown diamond found the day we visited! It's amazing that diamonds are continually found and the park is 'Finders keepers'!
They have done a great job with this park. There is a museum that tells the history or the park, previous diamonds found, and how they recommend finding them. There is a small souvenir shop too. The park also has a place to rent equipment for diamond hunting. We did use their equipment and it was in great shape for us amateurs.
There is also a pool and kids area for warm weather fun! The park is beautiful and God did an amazing job creating this place!
This is a great place to bring kids.
I will be back to camp, spend more time here, and hunt for diamonds!
Sovereign Living — Google review
We had so much fun. I have plenty of recommendations including a requirement to wear rain boots of some sort. That would be my only issue as I went straight to the mud then went to the dry spot. Also look at images of diamonds in a pile. You really will know if it’s a diamond vs quartz, crystals, or glass. We can’t wait to go back.

We were there first week of January. Took two of my grand kids to look for gems. We like to look for stones on the beach, so I thought this would be fun. We didn't find anything but we had fun being there and trying. It was a bit chilly and some parts were muddy, but the sunshine helped. The visitor center is very informative and helpful. We brought are own tools, shovels, rakes and sifters and our chairs. Took a break and had lunch in our car, it was windy and chilly and gave us time to warm up a bit before heading back out.

A unique park, to say the least. We spent three hours here, mainly digging in the dirt. We found several gemstones and many neat rocks.
There's a nice gift shop with very polite employees. You can purchase basic digging supplies (bucket, bag, spade/scoop). There are restrooms here. A splash pad/water area. Trails. A restaurant that was closed by the time we got there. Picnic tables and shaded areas outside the crater. Plenty of parking.
It was a tad disappointing that they close down at 4:00 p.m. We had a long drive, and got there later than expected. We would have liked to stay another few hours, but we're pretty happy with what we found in our time there.
Well worth visiting! We'll go back again (hopefully much earlier in the day) next time we're in the area.
There are several Pokestops and gyms here.

Very nicely laid out. Our first time, and didn't have much time so went through with only our hands to dig. Some brought beach wagons, recommended if can. A sturdy small shovel or small garden tools recommended. Some sort of sifting, like a beach perforated bucket. You can rent the tools there. Plenty of rinsing stations in the field (don't rinse rocks at the exit showers, that's a no no) Very informative stations and staff at the entrance pavilion. Nice!

Very clean and nice park. Five star for the bathrooms in the camp grounds. The most clean and convenient bathrooms from all kind of parks I ever visited so far. I never forget my boy thrown up right away when opened the bathroom door in one of the famous national parks when he was little. Camped two nights and dig one day for diamond there. Though didn’t get luck but had so much fun there. The raccoon 🦝 stolen our whole bag of 🥜 at night and came back the next day to finish the leftover and eat half of our neighbors lunch :-) Will definitely come back again, for diamond and fun!

This is a neat park. The RV park looks nice and clean. The check in for the park is at the visitor center which is not ideal for large rigs due to the tighter turn around you have to do. The diamond mine is cool and is worth doing at least once. They also have a small little water park.
Cell reception is horrible for T-mobile. Verizon was fine though.

This has been on my bucket list for a number of years. I can now cross it off.
We had fun, even though we didn't find anything of consequence.
Be sure to wear appropriate clothing, and footwear. Don't forget sunscreen, and a ball cap or visor to keep the sun out of your eyes. You can rent tools from the facility, though I do recommend bringing plastic baggies for your finds.

Enjoyed our visit to the diamond field. For an entrance fee we hunted for diamonds all day, either by looking for them on the surface of the ground or digging then sifting the dirt to expose them. Tools are available the park and in town to rent if you don’t have your own. Unfortunately we didn’t find any diamonds but others did. Rangers are on site to look at and identify the stones you collect. It was fun and relaxing just exploring the field and hunting. Maybe we’ll have better luck on our next visit!

I usually give out 5 stars like candy, but I was not impressed with this place. I can at least say I did it, but not something I would do again.
It’s $12 to be able to dig. You then have to rent equipment if you don’t have your own. I knew this from reading other reviews, but I didn’t realize you don’t get everything back. I rented the basic equipment and it was $60 with $45 refundable. So $27 to try to find a diamond.
I see other reviews about not going when it’s too hot, I would also recommend not going when it’s too cold. The ground was wet from rain 3 days ago and my fingers went numb quickly.
I just don’t really see the appeal but there were people there who clearly go often, so I recommend trying it and seeing which side you land on.

Such a fun experience digging for diamonds.
Our family spent hours and came up with some interesting rocks, lots of quartz, & a peridot. Overall a fun time.
We camped there as well and the facilities were great! Wish they had a laundry facility because you do get dirty.

I love coming to this park. Even though I still have not found a diamond there is still nice stones and Jasper to collect. It’s a great way to spend the day. The women who work in the shop are incredibly kind. I love that they have an area to wash all the mud off your shoes and tools. The mud here is very sticky. It’s interesting how when dirt changes all over the park. Some has lots of small pretty colored rocks, some looks super volcanic and another section is super white sand. The water stations makes sifting much easier. Big clean bathrooms was nice too.

Amazing! I went with my family and it was so very fun! If I can, I would love to come back here someday. It is about 15 dollars per person to get in, cheap! Rentals were not too expensive, ot will sound like a lot, but you get most back when you return the tools. But wear clothes you're ok with getting dirty! It's a dirty activity, but very fun.

A big deep plowed field you can explore for precious stones for a reasonable fee. You can walk, dig, or wet pan sand for a fortune. Bring (unless you want to rent them) a shovel, sifters, chairs, and a cart that can traverse dirt and mud. Pets are welcome on a leash. There are plenty of amenities and the employees are nice. There is a small gift shop, equipment rental, stone identification desk, clean restrooms, and a food truck. It's a good place to bring young kids who love dirt and geology or need to get some energy out. It was 80 degrees and overcast when we went. That's as warm as I could handle digging in the field. There is a water park, but it wasn't open (call if you want to get open information). I highly recommend visiting, it's worth the drive. We even saw a marriage proposal (pics and video).

People seem to be all in or totally unimpressed. Some people bring the works, wagons, sifters, buckets, pop up tents, shovels, and mine like it's their job. Others bring or rent a few things and give it the old modest effort. We found absolutely nothing of interest. Neat experience, won't repeat.

We enjoyed the hike and state park. The hiking path on one side was nicely paved. The way back has an awesome nature trail with great picture opportunities. We took more time on the way back and noticed all the trees, flora, water, etc. The campground and diamond digging experience is something to do at the park.
Monique Ramos — Google review
In my opinion, SKIP IT, it's a complete waste of time and the experience isn't even fun. Just to put it into perspective, between 1972 and 2023, you have a 0.76% chance of finding a diamond, which are generally the size of a pinhole, and only 0.02% chance of one over 1 carat, and this includes all the professional diamond hunters, locals and youtubers who spend countless hours searching. So you would think, I just want to do it for the experience, well that's not fun either, it's a lot of work with likely no reward. Best bet if you must go, go take your pics waste $15 per person, search for a few minutes in the dirt and sun and then go do something more productive with your day. My suggestion is to go an hour away from here to the crystal mines on Mount Ida where you can actually have a fun experience and not leave empty handed.
We has so much fun here!!! Learning about the different periods they lived through and then getting to dig for crystals and arrowheads. I highly recommend getting the any of the buckets you can choose from! Grandkids had a blast going through their buckets and finding all the goodies in there. And the staff, 2 young men were phenomenal!!! They were so nice and helpful and we really appreciate it.

This is a really cool place to get some lessons about history. Mound complexes with pottery jars, skeletal remains, tools and pipes. There's alot of other things left behind from over 1,000 years ago. In the gift shop you can buy drums, moccasins, bows and arrows, gems, chrystals, arrowheads and other hand made items. You can also dig for gems and arrowheads and keep what you find. Definitely a great place to stop and take a look.

Cute little museum off the beaten path. Crater of diamonds was too busy so we took a detour and we did not regret it! The staff were nice and welcoming. The kids had fun digging and we had a great time viewing the beautiful gems and rock collection they had.

This is a wonderful place to visit to learn about local Native American history. They have some terrific options for finding your own gems or for sifting through buckets where they already include gems, arrowheads, and a tiny diamond. My daughter was so happy to go through a bucket, and the history is fascinating.

We had a nice time here checking out the Indian burial grounds and museum. Only thing I wish we would have picked a cooler day to dig for minerals and arrowheads. They also have a Metal detection area that is neat for find artifacts. The gift shop has lots of neat gifts as well . All and all its a good place to visit if your into natural Indian history

It is a fun place to spend time with family. The museum or arrowheads and other historical facts and items were educational. I never knew how many arrowheads there were. The history and details, including regional differences were well researched. The digging was fun. I also liked the history and display of the Indian mounds.

Very friendly employees, more than willing to help. Everything was explained in detail, and so much to do! My son and I purchased one of the buckets, and we found plenty of arrowheads, shark teeth, and a small diamond! You can go on a tour, and they even offer metal detectors to find things. This place is definitely worth a visit!

Went a couple years ago. We definitely look forward to going again. Loved digging for rocks, arrowheads, and pottery. We did buy a bucket for $100 to wash in the sloosh outside. Well worth it. Nice looking arrowheads, shark teeth, different stones, pottery, and fossils. Fun for all ages.

For the price of admittance, it was pretty cool. There are three main burial mounds areas which you could easily work through in about twenty minutes. It was neat seeing the skeletons!
The kids walked through the museum area in about 7 minutes, but they weren't very interested in ancient pottery and tools.
I personally had no interest in digging in the dirt or metal detecting after 2.5 days at the diamond mines, so we didn't do that for long.
Honestly, the shop was the coolest part, side from seeing the skeletons in the burial mounds. My wife grabbed some cut quartz earrings (much cheaper than diamonds and just as pretty), and the kids got some rock candy and trinkets. They have tons of gems and stones for sale.
I really wish we would have come here before the diamond mines so we would have had a better idea of what to look for when we were sifting through all of our material. They have some of the diamonds found from the mine on display.

We stopped here during our Murfreesboro vacation. Very interesting history to learn about and museum to walk through with the historic mounds outside.
We spent about an hour searching the field they have. We were able to find some cool things. Tons of tiny crystals and colorful rocks. We were even able to find 6 arrow heads out in the field.
Of course we did the Gemstone Adventure. With a medium sized bucket the kids were able to find plenty of polished gemstones and handful of shark teeth. The shop also has tons of treasures to buy before you leave.
It was a nice stop for the kids to be able to actually find something searching through the dirt.

This place has multiple things to do and see. The yearly metal detecting event they throw every year is amazing. You can't beat it! I. A little expensive at $300. But there's not one I've heard of that does as big of prizes.

It's a fun little place, probably more fun if you have little kids. My son is 11 and we didn't spend much time here. Most everything in the store is commercialized/made in China type stuff. Lots of fake items...but some neat stuff. The museum was ok, needs to be updated or just cleaned up a little. The guy at the counter was super nice and very knowledgeable. If you're in town I do recommend stopping, just to check it out!
Waterfront lodging with relaxed rooms, plus low-key dining, a seasonal outdoor pool & a hot tub.
Absolutely killer vacation spot. All the staff are super friendly and polite, especially Gina David, Rick and Shanon. Food is spectacular, scenery is even better and the rooms are very clean. There's extremely little trash outside so people clearly care about keeping things clean! Lots of stuff to do and plenty of variety in trails so it's perfect for anyone no matter their experience. Highly recommend!

It was our first stay at the lodge. If you're looking for a winter weekend escape to a peaceful and serene setting, the lodge will not disappoint. We stayed in a suite. It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The window views of the lake is amazing. The staff was very attentive. We took a 1-hour boat tour from the marina near the lodge, to see the eagles. We had a great guide and seeing the eagles was pretty cool. There are local nature trails to enjoy, and a sunset stroll on the lodge property is a nice way to end the day. The lodge restaurant provides good food at a reasonable price.

Really awesome place to watch the April '24 eclipse from!
Pretty trails, well maintained with reflective markers just in case the sun sets before you're off them.
Clean bathrooms, with large campsites, more than enough room to park.
Didn't go golf but the course looks nice.

When it comes to customer service this place went out of their way to make us comfortable. We showed up later than expected and no reservation. They got my son and I into a lake view room.
The restaurant showed my son and I amazing hospitality. When my son and I wanted to have our dessert in front of the fireplace they had the fireplace lit and made us comfortable in front of it with games to play.
The marina was generous and so friendly. We had a blast renting water toys and hiking in the beautiful forest right behind the resort. We saw about 4 dear during our hike.
An unforgettable experience for us! My only regret is not staying longer.

We stayed in the campgrounds site 104. It was full hookups. Didn’t use the bathrooms but popped my head in to check it out. It looked about average. Our site had a partial lane view and was pull through. It was pretty level. Looked like it had been a long while since the bbq or fire pit had been cleaned out. We also got has lot of ants all around the site and they even came in our camper. Had to go to the store to get ant killer.
The lake itself was really nice. We did a boat tour and swimming trip that was $14 a person. We were the only ones on it so that was real nice.
The weather wasn’t great so we didn’t get to golf or hike.

Pulled my ultralight Scamp camper down there for 2 nights, mainly to see how my car would do. It went well. I couldn't reserve the camping site that I like but was just down from it a few sites. This was our first stay at the park. Stayed at the lodge while other family members camped. The lodge is nothing fancy but very comfortable and enjoyable. The camp sites were great too along with very clean camp bathrooms and showers. Our room in the lodge was on the second floor and had an amazing view of the lake. Definitely worth the extra money for a lake view. Ate breakfast in the Shoreline Cafe. They were only serving a buffet which was just ok. Gift shop had a surprisingly great choice of items. Such a beautiful lake. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend for all ages.

The location is very beautiful surrounded by tall pine forest bordering a well maintained lake. Food in the resort is expensive and the breakfast was over cooked dry but the service was nice. There is an outdoor playground, pool, gym, and a place to fish along with many activities to sign up for. We went on a guided group boat tour of the lake and a nighttime safari driving golf carts on the golf course! It was an awesome place for group events

Went here for the Thanksgiving buffet for $40 (includes drink and gratuity) and it was PHENOMENAL!!! They had everything you could want and more, from a massive salad bar and two tiered dessert table, to three meats, three gravies, and all the sides and fixings your heart could crave. We got there and immediately found a parking spot, went inside and there was no wait or line, got immediately seated and was able to head straight to the buffet with hardly any one around the food. The dining area had a great crowd but not chaotic and we got a lovely window seat overlooking the crystal waters and mountains with the trees changing colors. It was a beautiful Thanksgiving meal. Very low key, very delicious and zero stress involved. Afterwards it was nice to stroll the grounds outside and take in nature away from the hustle and bustle of town. I LOVE this holiday and I love cooking but this was definitely the way to go for anyone looking for a nice break at a place that takes you in like family, keeps the sweet tea full, and gorgeous views and no chaos. Only downside is no leftovers for later!!! Will definitely be back, this was truly a beautiful memory I want to experience the years to come.

The Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center is a restored structure that features exhibits and films about the bathhouses of yesteryear. It is one of the only places you can enter other than the Buckstaff, which has been in operation since 1912. The center also houses a museum with information about Bathhouse Rows interesting past and its famous former clients.
Such an interesting place! Definitely a must-visit for your first trip to Hot Springs. We did the self guided tour, and it felt like we were stepping through a looking glass into the early 1900s. As a nice bonus, there is no entry fee.

This is a cool place to visit and learn about the history of Hot Springs bathhouses. The exhibit is free of charge and open to the public. There are 4 floors, with artifacts and panels, images, and a brief history of the people that came to hot springs for thousands of years starting with Native Americans. If you're fascinated by history and a glimpse into how hot springs once looked, come to this place.

So much to do and learn! Beside Hot Springs having all the modern the National Park is the gem. Taking time to go through the visitor center and learn about the history of the bathhouses is a must. They have preserved and displayed something from each historic house. They have even displayed the separation of genders and race.
Remember to bring your water bottles and fill up from the hot and cold taps!

We were looking for "something along our route" and the bath houses came up as a Google recommendation.
My first thought was...that doesn't seem too exciting. I looked at some reviews by others and thought my family may enjoy an hour or two here so we would go. I didn't have any great expectations.
Boy was I surprised! This place was great! We stopped into the visitor center and picked up a map and a coupon booklet. Do that first!
We wandered down the bustling street and passed by countless little shops. We saw an amphibians tour and thought we might try it. Maybe later.
We stopped in a few bath houses that were still operational. With e kids tagging along it wasn't practical to think we were going to bathe, so we went to the next one. Everyone was super friendly and told us about the one that was turned into a museum....the Fordyce.
We made our way over to the Fordyce and saw they had guided tours, or you could self tour. We didn't want to wait for the guided tour so we checked it out alone. My kids were fascinated and I quickly read all the narrations to them as were breezed through the building. They especially like the electromassage and other "weird" technology from back then. We even watched a little of the theater info video.

We visited here on this trip as my husband had never been here. I thought it would be something fun for us to do. The Fordyce Bathhouse is one of the old bathhouses on Bathhouse row on Central Ave in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It is a visitor center and is a museum of sorts as you can tour through the 3 floors and basement. It is a step back into the glory days of what it was like for people who visited the bathhouse for either treatment for ailments or just to relax and have social interactions with other patrons. The natural hot springs that run underground were a great resource. They have an elevator here as well. The staff/park rangers are very friendly and helpful. It's a clean establishment, and there are bathrooms for you located in the basement. There is a gift shop as well. The Fordyce is a must-see if you are visiting here, and it is FREE to tour also.

My favorite stop on Bathhouse Row. I always take time to visit this beautiful, historic building when I’m in Hot Springs. It’s been so well preserved, it’s hard not to get caught up in thoughts about the lives of the people who are long-gone that occupied this bathhouse. Some of the stained glass is truly breathtaking. Every room is a snapshot of history, some sad, but very thought-provoking. I recommend the self-guided tour for anyone who would like to reflect on the past in their own time.

Fascinating history. We took the 10 am. outside, ranger-guided tour led by Ranger Chimill. He was so knowledgeable and interesting. There was also an inside tour, but we preferred slowly going through the museum by ourselves as they had the information well marked on signs and placards.

The park rangers were so friendly and knowledgeable. There are guided tours at set times of the day, a video segment. Make sure you make it to the third floor and see the beautiful stain glass ceiling in the parlor. There is free parking near by the building. It is a very busy area. A bit challenging to access but very worth it. Restrooms are available in the basement.

The landmark Hot Springs Mountain Tower has views of the surrounding mountains and Hot Springs National Park. The tower is 216-feet tall, making it a great place to see the area.
Hot Springs Mountain Tower is a must see when visiting HS, Arkansas for sure! You get a beautiful view of the town below and surrounding mountains. Makes for nice photos. I've gone twice and would go again next time I vacation in Arkansas. Gift shop always has cute things to choose from. My husband bought me birthstone stud earrings the first time we went and a lovely ring the second time. Being way up high is always so exciting!

A breathtaking view of Hot Springs and the surrounding area! If you are visiting for the first time, this absolutely needs to be on your list of things to do.
The gift shop was cute and full of local souvenirs, the employees were very welcoming, and the top of the tower really is something to experience.
The very top floor is open-air, while the floor just below has windows and goes into the history of Hot Springs, the tower, etc. I can tell you I have a pretty intense fear of heights, but I went up for our kids and I really did feel safe once I got to the top. If you're nervous about going, I'd encourage you to give it a shot.
If you have young kids, be prepared for them to get to the top and say "Wow! We're up high! Can we go now?" 😂 You may have to do some speed reading to read some of the information on the enclosed floor.
Honestly, I may have enjoyed the drive up and down the mountain as much as I enjoyed the tower! It was filled with switchbacks and was really a beautiful drive. Lots of places along the way to stop, see the sights, have a picnic lunch, and even walk some trails if you'd like.

Our family of 5 came for the bath houses....decided to see the tower. There was the option of parking at the bottom and hiking the trail to the tower, but the drive seemed like a better idea as Temps were nearing 93.
The drive up the mountain was beautiful with dozens of switchbacks winding though the trees as the sun poking through created a natural strobe light effect.
Parking up top is limited to about 50 vehicles...so come early, although many who come up do not stay too long. There is a gift shop in the bottom of the tower that looks a little dated, but the workers were extremely nice.
The price for the tower is a little steep costing 13 for adults and 9 for kids. 1st responder discount and a 1 free admission coupon from the guide book we picked up at the visitors center in town...we spent less than 45 bucks. The tower was busy (July 3rd) so there was a 5 minute wait for the elevator. There is a turnstyle from an old subway that you place your token in to access the elevators. A 1 minute ride to the top and you can staybas long as you like. The very top was open air but if you go around to the staircase, the is another floor lower that is enclosed with A/C and lots of reading panels.
We took the staircase back down which was pleasant.

Great views but very windy! Recommend bringing a jacket if you visit the outside observation deck! The inside observation deck is the level below it, but the views are better from the very top of the tower. Wish we got to see the sun set all the way. Unfortunately, their hours say it closes at 5pm, but the tower actually closes at 4:30pm. Wish they would extend their hours, especially during the summer when the sun sets later because the views would be beautiful! Admission was $10/person and parking is free.

So very pretty, and also very interesting. The gift shop is kind of pricey, but the lookout tower views make up for it. The staff is so nice, upbeat, and pleasant to interact with. To put it simply, the staff was refreshing. I highly recommend!!
If you’re in the military or are a first responder, they will give you a discounted rate, so be sure to bring proof or an ID if that applies to you.

My wife wanted to go up in this tower for our anniversary today. It’s a beautiful view of Hot Springs and the surrounding mountains. The elevator has a window and goes up the middle of the 216 ft. crossbeam structure that the overlook platform is built on.
Lots of souvenirs
in the gift shop at the bottom. Everyone should visit here at least once.

Beautiful uphill drive and nicely built tower. The best part was the elevator going up to the viewing deck. You could see miles away while going up. The views from the tower are awesome. You could see the buildings and the hotels around. Hot Spring, AR has so many trees. You could see the greenery all over the place from the tower. You also find the hot springs at the base of the tower while going back.

Easily accessible from the main road, plenty of free parking including for Handicap accessible Vehicles. The drive up is very nice with some view points. You can also walk up to the top
There was not a long wait to buy tickets or for the Elevator to go up. You can also walk the stairs if you like.
Excellent 360 view from the top with plenty of Historical Photos and information.
There is a nice shop where you purchase the tickets.

Lovely view and really good customer service. You do have to pay to go up. They give a discount for groups of 15 or more and also offer a military/veterans discount.

Amazing view from the top. You can drive to it or hike to it. Roughly 1/2-3/4 mile hike up the hill. Medium level of difficulty but worth it in my opinion.
Gift shop items are excessively overpriced, kind of expected, but not to this extreme.

$12 with a National Parks pass to get elevator to the top which is 216ft.
Great views over the National Park and over the town of Hot Springs. There is an exhibition level below the top deck giving the history of the town and the famous people who came to the area to bathe in the spring water.

The tower tour was a quick in and out. Lots of information on the history. Great views. We were able see the pretty fall colors view. The tower closed at 2.00pm due to the day before Thanksgiving. We also got $3off per ticket as we had the annual national park pass.
Shruthi SK — Google review
Must see and do. There are a lot of history placards on the 2nd floor. The 3rd floor is an outdoor viewing area. Loved it. I have a National Parks pass so out entry was $10/person

360 degree view up to 5 miles on a good day. What you see is downtown Hot Springs and a lot of trees and more trees for miles.
Two levels are accessible. Second last level is barricaded with glass and exhibits explaining the history of the town. Last floor is partially obstructed and you can feel the wind on your face as you immerse in the breathtaking views of the town.
Plenty of parking around the tower. 5 minutes easy drive through the winding roads from downtown.
It is wheelchair accessible and has elevator.
If you get a coupon book from the downtown visitor center, you get one free entry to the tower. They also offer military discount and if you are a military gold star family member, you further get a dollar off on already discounted military ticket.
Restrooms are near the exit/gift shop.

Recommended by a native from Hot Springs, we made a point to go before sunset and got there just in time before they stopped making runs up to the top (4:30p in November). Hold on to your hat when you get to the top so it doesn’t blow away! Beautiful drive up the windy 5k road to the base of the tower and peaceful, gorgeous views await you at the top!

Awesome views of the town Hot Springs! Well worth it, elevator was a bit sketchy though. You also have to pay for the viewing scopes up top. They have a gift shop at the bottom/ entrance when you first come in.

*Don't worry...there is parking at top next to tower.
The drive up, as the fall leaves are in peak change, was beautiful. No vehucles over 30ft due to tight turns on 1 way road.
You only pay if you want to go up. It costs about $13/person...there's also a discount for military/first responders.
Tower is the highest point around and view is beautiful. The gift shop at bottom is full of souvenoir options too. There is an elevator to top.
*To the owner: my appologies...typo regarding cost to go up.- C. Lopez

The drive up was very nice lots of scenery. When we at the top looking up at the tower was very impressive. So we paid our way in and took the elevator to the top and what a view! Then there is all kinds of history about Hot Springs and the tower with all the famous people from the 30s to include Babe Ruth and lots of other baseball players. The gift shop is also very cool with shirts, hats and other items. You won't be disappointed at all. This was my first time up and I did it for my 61st birthday!

Lake Ouachita is an immense body of water surrounded by picturesque landscapes, offering opportunities for swimming, boating and fishing. There are also cabins and campgrounds available for visitors who enjoy spending time in natural settings. This lake has become a favorite destination for families who love to camp at state parks, and the park's amenities make it an ideal spot to visit year after year.
Our family lives to camp at state parks. We found this gem and continue to return year after year.

My family loved from camping at Nimrod to Ouachita in 1963. We always camped at Denby Point. Great crappie fishing in the timber towards Shanghai. And great skiing in the open water between the two camp grounds. We camped, fished and skied one week each month of the summer. We caught thousands of crappie. We stopped. Best lake I’ve been to. Had some good fishing and really fun islands.
Anyway here’s some cool lake facts.
Did you know…lakes can die?
Once formed, lakes do not stay the same. Like people, they go through different life stages—youth, maturity, old age, and death.
All lakes are either open or closed. If water leaves a lake by a river or other outlet, it is open. All freshwater lakes are open. If water only leaves a lake by evaporation, the lake is closed. Closed lakes usually become saline (salty). This is because as the water evaporates, it leaves behind solids—mostly salts.
The Great Salt Lake, in the U.S. state of Utah, is the largest saline lake in North America.
The lowest lake in the world is the Dead Sea, on the edge of Israel and Jordan. The surface level is 418 m below sea level.
The highest lake in the world is the crater lake of Ojos del Salado, on the border of Chile and Argentina at 6,390 m above sea level.
The deepest lake in the world is Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia, it is 1,637 m at its deepest point.
The longest lake in the world is Lake Tanganyika in Africa at 660 km and it is also the second deepest lake.
Anyway 10/10

This place is absolutely amazing. The clearest water I've seen in my life and it's on the top 10 best places to swim on Earth. The first 2 time's I went I rented a boat and got lost both times. Plan on taking my daughter's as soon as possible. 10 out of 10!

It’s a great spot for free camping, it wasn’t crowded at all, with benches/tables/fire pits, and they did have pit toilets, but it was out of TP and didn’t look or smell like it had been maintained frequently. And it’s very buggy with lots of spiders, and my friend saw 2 tranchulas on the road, so you definitely want a tent that’ll keep everything out
If you’re into crystals and minerals, This is a great area to do some rock hunting...
Only crazy thing I feel obligated to mention is at around 11pm we heard this CRAZY unnatural noise! Like a Sasquatch howling really close to our tent, repeatedly nonstop for like 5min until we heard a gun go off, then we didn’t hear it again....

Landmark state park featuring Arkansas' tallest American Indian mounds, plus a visitors center.
Awesome little park very close to I-40. Stopped in to have a look at the Toltec Mounds. Staff were very friendly and informative. Grounds and facilities were well kept and clean. The boardwalk was closed due to damage, but we were still able to take a walk by the lake.
Aletse Nehciets — Google review
Don't wait like we did. Its fun, free and interesting. OK maybe not breathtaking like some sites but it's educational. Hard to imagine life so long ago. Viewing the 3 larger mounds that remain will mean very little if you skip the cool displays in the welcome center. Easy to walk (although today it was hot!) paved trail, many rest benches and a nice area over water to see cypress tress. Took us about 45 minutes to 1 hour total so time is not really an issue. Friendly staff also!

This park offers an indoor museum and outdoor attractions near an oxbow of the Arkansas River. The park details the Toltec Indian burial mounds and offers a lot of information about the natives in the area and early native cultures in Arkansas. The whole thing can be experienced in about an 1.5 hours depending on what walking trail you take and how much time you spend in the museum. There are no fees associated with the park.
Nathan Pierce — Google review
We loved it. It was so beautiful and peace and quiet. Just walking around you'll get lost in your thoughts that's how peaceful it is. We will definitely be back. Good place to get exercise as well. One trail is 3.5 miles and other is 1.5 miles. Also check out the store they have there as well.

Plum Bayou Mounds is a truly special place, full of history and natural beauty. The preserved mounds offer a window into the rich Native American culture that once thrived here, and the museum provides a great educational experience with its artifacts and interactive exhibits. The park itself is a peaceful oasis, with scenic hiking trails and serene surroundings. I highly recommend a visit to Plum Bayou Mounds to anyone interested in history and nature, it's a hidden gem that shouldn't be missed.

Another SP for the history buffs, if you like American Indian history then check this place out. It doesn't take long to see it all and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Only bad thing on this visit was the weather, cold & windy. Had a hawk fly over the mounds while we were there, kinda added to the aesthetics of the place. (last pic, look close, above mound)

Interesting, educational and fun for kids. The outdoors trails lead past the mounds, along the bayou on a wooden walk bridge and through the nearby wood line. The marker plaques explain everything as you read along the way. The visitor center is full of interactive displays for children and adults alike.

Wonderful little park that we visit regularly. Lots of history and artifacts on display. Would be great if they’d fix the wooden water’s edge walkway that had a beautiful view. The observation deck has been closed for years. The omission of that portion of trail spoils the route.

We made it down Toltec Rd 15 minutes before they opened and parked in some tiny drive area. The surrounding land is big fields. The park is very pretty whether on foot or taken in via motorized vehicle (a tram) with an interpreter to walk you through the various sites. The hills are large and the walkway to the water is beautiful with a close-up look at some awesome trees. The museum inside has hands-on exhibits that the kids enjoyed

Parking lot is not set up for campers so investigate before turning in.

Free to the public year round. Great place for a nature walk by the Arkansas River. Clean bathrooms inside the nature center, historical artifacts on display, and snacks and souvenirs for sale.
The Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site commemorates the pivotal event of the Brown vs. Board of Education case in 1957, when nine black students enrolled at the school after the government decreed that all schools must be integrated. The site offers interactive exhibits and a visitor center with guided tours, free of charge, open Tuesday through Saturday.
This site goes well beyond information strictly pertaining to the high school. It also covers women’s rights, workers’ rights, etc - because we’re not free until we’re all free. The ranger who met me at the door was obviously passionate and helpful. The NPS app is a helpful addition, especially to visiting the grounds. I wish I had planned ahead better, so that I would be able to take a guided tour.
Beyond worth your time.

Such an incredible landmark to visit. Also amazing is that it's still a functioning high school.
Kids were coming in and out of the front while our park ranger was giving us a tour from the outside. Presentation was given on the front steps.
Everyone should visit to better understand how segregation was, sadly, started in America. The path was long and horrendous but the students that endured the unspeakable torment made it possible for so many more to move forward.

Ranger Randy was the absolute BEST. He brought the tour as close to being there when it occurred as humanly possible. I was there based on his detailed explanation of events and situations the nine students faced It was chilling, to say the least, but he did not hold back a single detail or try and sugarcoat the situation He told the history and warned everyone up front, if you are here for a happy and sweet story, this is not that tour It was the BEST and most informative tour I have been on, and since I am retired, I have attended many of them Well, Done, Randy, and I HIGHLY Recommend if you are planning to take this tour and you get Randy, get ready to find yourself, regardless of race, creed, or color, literally standing on the streets and steps of history and feeling like you are really a part of it Well Done!!! v/r, Dr. K. We did not get to visit the museum as it was closed the day we were there, but just visiting the building was amazing. Central's history of public school racial integration was what brought us here and that would have been enough, but upon seeing the actual structure, we were blown away by the architecture and were compelled to research it's history, which I encourage you to do. It gives even more depth to the meaning of the events that took place, besides being fascinating in itself. Such a beautiful place that has obviously been taken very good care of- it's so gratifying to see that an important historical landmark will live on for a long time so others may visit.

The Visitor Center was was closed when we were there, but there was still parking available. Since the school is still in use today, it is free and open to the public to walk around outside. There are several statues and walkways. It was moving to be able to walk up the same step were history was made decades ago.

As a kid of lived through my own desegregation trauma...I simply couldn't drive through Little Rock and not see the famed building that was one of the first proving grounds of the Supreme Court's desegregation order! I am glad I did. I didn't know the National Parks Service had designated it as a landmark and had a visitor center with exhibits nearby. What I thought would be a quick snapshot in front of the building turned into an emotional roller-coaster and an opportunity to walk among history.

I stopped by here on my way east. Intresting place even if it is woke. They have a junior ranger program but to compleat it would take quite a while. There is an old gas station across the stree that looks just like it did in the 1950s. This is a free national hiatoric site. There are a lot of intresting videos inside.

There are no words to describe this amazing piece of US history. Go on a guided tour- a ranger-led interpretive tour will give you so much more perspective/information than just visiting the visitor center. To walk in the footsteps of the 9 black students, the National Guard, the police, the media, the federal troops, the teachers, and the white students is one of the most sobering and provocative experiences that I've ever had. The school is still an active high school, so you can't go inside on a tour. Just walking the grounds is powerful. The history this school has seen.

The William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum is located within the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Arkansas and honors the life of former U.S. President William J. Clinton. The museum offers exhibits on Clinton's time in office as well as his personal life, and features artifacts from both his presidency and his time spent as a governor of Arkansas.
Beautiful facility with rotating exhibit items and photo ops.
Even though we went during a busy event day (spring break season AND a private function) we didn’t have to wait long for security. And we read ahead of time about health & safety protocols. So, that helped.
My little kiddos are 5 & 11 - both enjoyed the library and exhibits for different reasons. You’ll spend about 2 hours here and no matter what, you’ll learn something or see something new.
I was impressed by the table setting and Bill’s saxophones. Yes, there’s heavy-hitting news and history to read about. But some of the lighthearted items really spoke to me this visit. Maybe it humanizes the office. I’m not sure.
5 stars now. 5 stars the first year it opened. And I’m guessing 5 stars when I return in the future, too.

Such a neat experience. This building has several floors and so much to see, you could easily spend several hours here. They had a temporary woman's rights exhibit while we were visiting which was very informative and interesting. Aside for the historical part, the views from this building are amazing. There is a gorgeous, large park area to walk around outside that includes walking trails and a foot bridge over the river. We intend to come back to explore outside more!

Price is reasonable. Sleek, modern building. Lots of memories of the 90's. Of course, it shows Clinton in the most positive light. No mention of Monica Lewinsky and other topics like Whitewater or the impeachment are glossed over. That being said, the exhibits are nicely arranged and it is a fitting tribute. My only beef is that guests are not allowed to take their own pictures in the replica oval office--you have to buy an overpriced picture package for that presidential privilege.

One of the grandest Presidential libraries in America. Stunningly beautiful grounds. The school of public affairs is situated in an old train station waiting room, which has been renovated to perfection. The building is bound by the Arkansas River on one side and the city of Little Rock. There's a lovely outdoor cafe called 42. Don't hesitate to ask the wonderful volunteers for some stories about Bill Clinton's visits... they have plenty! .On the roof is his private putting green and apartment. They claim to see the top of his grey head often when he is there :) Wonderful place to bring the family.

The volunteer staff is very eager to help. One of them shared that there will be a multi-million dollar renovation. The long hall, organized by years, has a LOT of detail in the form of audiovisual screens. Unfortunately, the many audio tracks are competing with each other, and I had trouble hearing. My favorite section was upstairs, where the state dinner bling was displayed. Also upstairs, many artifacts from Bill’s and Hillary’s childhood. The gift shop had interesting and unique items for sale.

We felt like the admission price was a little steep in combination with charging for a photo to sit in the replica oval office, but the photo is not obligatory and the facility was very nice and well-kept.
I honestly wasn't expecting much out of the library, but was pleasantly surprised. I found the museum to be educational, thorough, and it had a nice mix of political and personal details to keep it engaging.

A beautiful structure located by the river. The library offers a tour twice a day. Try to catch it and then go back to read what exhibits you want. This wasn’t the first presidential library I visited so I rated it one star less. My overall experience was great. I love how detailed everything was. Enjoyed reading about the history and seeing documents, memorabilia, how the oval office looked like to name a few. Did learn a lot of things during my visit and I loved the Dino Exhibit. It was great for kids and adult alike. Took off one star because we weren’t allowed to take a photo at the oval office unless we pay extra. Also, comparing this to other Presidential Libraries, I think it was small. Other than that, I had fun visiting this place and would highly recommend it if you happen to be in the area.

Visited with my daughter at the beginning of this month. She’s five, so it’s not always easy to bring young children to history-type museums so I was extremely happy to find out their were also having a dinosaur exhibit, that really sold it for her! I’m not the biggest history buff so what initially attracted me was the exterior and interior architecture. This was my first time in a presidential museum and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Granted, we did not stay the amount of time needed to truly soak in all of the history, but such is expected with small children. The dinosaur exhibit was interactive and plentiful, they made good use of today’s technology such as machine that turns drawings into 3D dinosaurs on the screen.
Shout out to all of the staff who made us feel very welcomed, interacting with my daughter. And a special shout out to the gentleman at the gift shop who have her a printed photograph of a cat, she loves that.

Regardless of your political persuasion this is a fascinating return to the days before COVID, 911 and school shootings when it almost seemed like world peace was possible given moderate Soviet leaders. It bypasses the scandals of Clintons indiscretions focusing on the challenges and accomplishments. No one is all good or all bad. This is well worth the visit if you value historical perspectives. Give yourself three hours to walk through the linear progression through the Clinton Whitehouse years.
M Hendershot — Google review
I am comparing this to other newer Presidential museums. The introductory film is a good starter and shows Mr. Clinton’s style. This museum is almost exclusively a very detailed study of the accomplishments and challenges of the Clinton administration. I am a fan, so was impressed with all that was accomplished, but would have liked to know more about his early life, family and challenges he faced. Perhaps more on Hillary’s early life also. If you were interested, you could probably read the displays for days. We enjoyed the state dinner wing with the gifts and other details. The pictures in the displays are very insightful and revealing. The facility is beautiful, and the slightly upper scale restaurant is very good. Volunteer staff was very helpful. Large onsite, free parking.

All of the kids and parents had a wonderful time! Also make time to walk around outside and see the statues, walk over the bridge, hangout by the old train station. Plus you’re right by all the good restaurants downtown, and the Museum of discovery which is great for kids!

We arrived at the Bill Clinton Presidential Library on a Friday around 10:00 a.m. It is a beautiful modern library from the outside. We had to go through a security check. We purchased our tickets. We were not given a commemorative ticket just a sticker. The other 10 presidential libraries we have been to give you a beautiful ticket/souvenir with a picture of the library and the date on it. We were told they only give out the commemorative ticket when it is a special occasion. Also their printer was not working. All the volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. We were told to start with the movie were Bill Clinton talks about his childhood and his road to the White House. After the movie it was a little confusing. They want you to start with the Clinton's White House years. We wanted to start with Bill's childhood and work up to the White House years. There are two floors to the library. The map is helpful. The library has a lot of glass windows and glass displays. It was difficult to photograph because of the reflecting light. Also the quotes are in sliver letters. We learned a lot about the Clintons. There is a replica of the President Clinton's oval office. The doorways are roped off. You can only go inside the oval office if you want you picture taken behind the desk. The cost is $14.00-$16.00. That's more than the admission fee for the library. Afterwards we walked around the outside of the library. We also walked on the Clinton Presidential Bridge. You get a different view of the library from the bridge. The library and the walk took about 2 – 3 hours.

This is a must see if you are passing through or live in the area. First Presidential Library visit, our young kids had fun and there are a variety of exhibits each touching a different topic. Its a quick 2 hour visit to see everything. Was not busy when we got there. The volunteers were very nice and had great stories but also gave us plenty of space. Made me want to visit more of these.

The River Market District in Little Rock is a popular destination for food lovers with a variety of eateries and stalls to choose from. The market hall is an open concept building with food stalls, coffee vendors, groceries, and take-out options. In addition to the food court, the district features a twice-weekly farmer's market as well as frequent concerts.
Delicious food options

The River Market was nearly completely devoid of people on our Saturday afternoon visit. While the place might be quite entertaining during the summer, it is rather lifeless in the winter. The Middle East Mediterranean place did have fantastic food and incredibly friendly service!

Went on a Saturday and it was oddly very empty….there was no farmers market just a few restaurants open

I don’t understand how anyone would consider this small rundown venue a “world class international market”…… the inside is 25 years dated…. Most shops and booths are abandoned, trashy, or closed. The shops they do have offers food that tastes like fast food versions of international dishes. There’s a homeless camp in front of and behind the venue. the outdoor seating is sad (old metal tables placed haphazardly on the concrete area behind the venue). Hours of operation are never accurate. there’s trash thrown all over the place. I dunno….. seems like a struggling venue with limited options.

Food was delicious from the Thai restaurant. Great choices and all very good. Sadly ,there was usually one person working each booth. This made for long waits for food. Great place if you aren’t in a hurry.

A nice farmer's market offering local produce and goods. Located under two covered vendor areas, this downtown river market is a fun way to spend a Saturday morning! Bicycle rentals and a ton of restaurants along with a food hall are just feet away.

Little Rock River Market is a fun place to get out and walk around. You can get the most beautiful views of Downtown from the Junction Bridge (a pedestrian bridge). There are many fun things to do in this area as well as several great restaurants.

The Old Mill is a popular tourist destination in Little Rock, Arkansas, that depicts an 1800s-style water mill surrounded by lush landscaping and three acres of sculptures created by renowned artist Senor Dionicio Rodriguez. The park is well-known for its picturesque setting and the Old Mill itself has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Was easy to find. Very beautiful and relaxing. Is an oasis in the middle of a city/metropolitan area. We went the 3rd week of May and everything was green and blooming. We were there around 3:00pm on a Monday and a few people were there but not many. As it got later and school let out more people showed up. As this is right in a neighborhood we saw several people out walking/walking their dogs near the entrance. We spent about an hour and thoroughly enjoyed it. A lovely spot to take your lunch/dinner (or even breakfast-check their hours first-I didn't notice what time open/close is) and enjoy listening to the water running. There was plenty of seating, a picnic table, and public restrooms. Some areas were handicap accessible. We will definitely stop back by when we visit that area again.

What an absolutely beautiful location with so much to explore in an otherwise quiet residential area. There is a lot packed in this space including the mill building that you can explore, rock bridge where the sunset shows through, multiple waterfalls, a cool sculpture, and a decked building overlooking the entire property. It was rather busy on an unusually warm winter day, but we didn't mind. Was well worth stopping and checking out. We covered everything there in about 45 minutes with two 10 year olds in tow.

I enjoyed walking around. Restrooms were decent . It was super hot today so make sure to bring a hat or sunglasses and have water. We didn't explore too far out since we have toddlers but it's best not to bring a stroller since it's hard to get around in it. Very narrow pathways . Keep your kiddos close . There isn't many safe fences surrounding the water . Very beautiful to visit though. Parking is easy. Along the side of road of The Old Mill.

Pictures and videos do not do The Old Mill justice. It is absolutely breathtaking, like a scene out of a movie!
It is perfect for family pictures, a picnic, or just going to sit think/read/journal. It is a must see while in Little Rock!

The Old Mill is so beautiful! If you are looking for a place to take prom photos, senior photos, engagement photos, family photos…. Take all the photos here! The grounds are well maintained, the turtles and ducks swim right up to you. The bridge is super cool and the old mill really is beautiful. There were some other people but not super crowded everyone gave each other their space here.

I can’t express how blissful place is this! We spent a late afternoon there. We absolutely loved it. It was overcrowded when we visited there, so highly recommend visiting this during earlier time of weekdays. The sitting areas and bridges are so awesome and unique. Wish we could spend more time there.

My wife and I visited The Old Mill during a cross country trip from California to South Carolina. What a beautiful spot! The mill is a re-creation of an 1880s water-powered grist mill and is in the opening scenes of the classic film Gone With the Wind. I didn't know either of these facts when we visited it, but found out later on the North Little Rock website. Visitors can walk a lovely garden path down to the mill, then over a rustic bridge that offers a gorgeous view of Lake Number Two. Benches are placed throughout the gardens so that visitors can sit for a while and soak in all the beauty of the place. It truly does look like something out of a fairy tale.

Pinnacle Mountain State Park is a beautiful state park located in Little Rock, Arkansas. The park has hiking trails that offer amazing views of the city and surrounding areas. There is also a visitor center and arboretum onsite, making it a great place to visit if you're interested in nature or hiking.
Pinnacle Mountain State Park is an absolute must see if you are in the area! The park is beautiful, has tons of trails and water access, and offers some of the best views near Little Rock! My favorite place to hike is the Pinnacle Mountain West Summit Trailhead since it has a decent grade, wonderful views, and has a bit of a scramble up the boulder field to get to the top. Pinnacle Mountain is the only place I have ever hiked both the sunrise and sunset on the same day due to the proximity to the Maumelle Park Campground I stayed at. The sunset at the top is one of the best I have seen across the country, and it feels like you are somewhere tropical with the colors of the trees and sky you can get when the sun is setting over the ridge. I cannot recommend this park and these views enough if you are around Little Rock!

This trail is not for inexperienced hikers. The trails begins fairly easy at the beginning and as you’re going up, you’ll need your hands to help you climb. I didn’t get bit by any bugs, although I saw a green poisonous snake. Luckily the other hikers warned me before I was about to step on the snake. When you’ve climbed your way to the very top, a fantastic view awaits you. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes, bring loads of water and snacks. I loved this trail and you will as well!!

I highly recommend it - an unforgettable adventure! Five stars for sure!

A beautiful state park. Free! The hikes are easy, a nice walk. The views are some of the best in the country. They have good trails for biking as well. Lots of ground to cover. The lake is gorgeous. Water looks good. They have pavilions or places to have a cookout or barbecue. A playground for the kids, bathrooms, small pier for viewing, canoe rentals, and more trails to walk through the woods. My family really enjoyed this park. Look forward to our next visit!

Very nice hike to the summit. Clearly marked trail, even when it becomes boulder steps. More area at the summit than expected. You can make this as difficult as you like by increasing pace, or go slow. I went up and back in under 30 minutes, but I can see going at a slower more leisurely pace and enjoy the surroundings. The park itself looks like a great place for a family outing or group gathering.

We went on the West Summit trail and hiked on a clear day! Very steep at the top with lots of rocks. I highly recommend wearing hiking boots and be careful with leaves on rocks as they are slick. I almost slipped! Overall took about 1.5 hours for us. Worth the view!

Beautiful. I've never taken the hard trail but the easier one is a piece of cake. Id say takes roughly 1hr 45 min for the average person to reach the top. I do wish It was easier to get to the edge when up there but hey, its beautiful. The bathrooms are clean and their is also a playground for kids. Plenty of grills and picnic tables also.

Pinnacle Mountain is so beautiful. Great place to hike, bike, enjoy nature and the view. Our family loves it here! Today we went hiking East Summit Trail and I only made it up 3/4 way because it was so steep and rocky but I had fun!
Joni Alina — Google review
We were very surprised upon our arrival at the size of this park, but really enjoyed our visit. The park ranger advised us that the West side summit trail was a little easier and not as steep. Nice park store, and we enjoyed our hike to the overlook area of the River. We were excited to see that the 223 mile Ouachita Trailhead is located here. Don't think it is an easy 1.5 mile hike up the mountain! It's very rough and you are climbing straight up and over HUGE boulders through at least a mile of the trail. It's very worth it once you get to the top, but we seen several dogs loosing their footing sliding down the rocks, and a couple of people in flip flops falling. It's important to bring PLENTY of water, and proper shoes! I know that my picture of the rocks looks flat, but that's looking almost at a straight up incline that you are climbing up to the summit!

My daughter (12 y/o) and I visit Pinnacle Mountain at least once or twice a year and have been doing this for the past 4 years. The hike is moderate to strenuous but the view at the top is wonderful. There are other trails and a beautiful park that has a playground for kids.
Take plenty of water (we have a camelback) and a bag to carry your trash as there isn’t a trash can along the trail. My daughter and I also pack a few snacks to eat when we get to the top.
I do want to state that we have stumbled upon 3 snakes (non-venomous) on or along the trail so, be careful and keep an eye out. We respected them and left them alone. I posted videos of them on my YouTube channel.

There are a lot of nice trails here. This is a beautiful state park. The people at the visitor center are really nice and you will find a lot of other hikers here to offer you advice along the way. Each trail is Walmart and very clean. I will give some recommendations on which hikes to do for each type of person that might come here.
If you are inexperienced at hiking, or if you are in a wheelchair or want to be on a paved path instead of a rocky or dirt path, you can take the Rocky Valley Trail. There’s a nice view at the top and it’s easily accessible by the parking lot in the visitor center which may be easier for you to park in because the other parking lots are smaller.
If you are a beginner hiker, you can take the bass trail, which is the green trail and hike as far as you want and then turn back and go back to your car. There is a few rocks on the ground but it’s mostly a dirt trail.
If you want a little bit of an adventure, you could take the West Summit Trail, which is the yellow trail up to the top of the mountain. It only really gets difficult in the second half where you have to go up some stone steps or some rocks that are placed like steps. once you get to the top, it will all be worth it. I don’t expect it would be that much more difficult than taking a long big staircase. Then you can turn around and go back to your car.
Finally, for an experienced hiker, you should park at the west summit entrance, and then use the base trail to go around the south side of the mountain to the east summit entrance, and then climb the mountain from the east and descend from the west. This is the red trail. Then your car will be right there waiting when you get done with the mountain. This took my wife and I exactly 4 hours and we are Relatively inexperienced hikers. It’s the most fun hike I’ve ever been on.

My absolute favorite hiking spot! It's gorgeous and while sometimes it can be busy, everyone respects everyone else. It can be a bit of a moderate hike in some places, especially a few scrambles on the west side. The views alone are all worth it. Great place to take a pup too!

I'm not sure how well marked the trails are, but you would struggle to get lost.

Petit Jean State Park has been one of my favorite wilderness experiences in Arkansas! We stayed at the campground in the park which was extremely clean, had great facilities, and was absolutely beautiful. It made getting up and exploring that much easier every single day. My two favorite parts of the part were the Petit Jean Overlook and Gravesite, and the Cedar Falls Trail. The Petit Jean Overlook is amazing to experience at different times of the day with the lights and shadows changing constantly and is amazing to catch a sunrise if you can! The Cedar Falls are absolutely marvelous and if you can make the trek down and back they are completely worth it! This area is amazing and should definitely be on your Arkansas list if you are visiting the area!

On our journey from Little Rock to Oklahoma, we were fortunate to stumble upon this hidden gem in Arkansas. What a delightful discovery it turned out to be! This place is a haven for nature lovers, boasting several incredible hiking trails to explore. Opting for the Cedar Falls trail was a decision we didn't regret. While it takes around 45 minutes to reach the falls, the journey is just as rewarding as the destination. The breathtaking views along the way heightened our excitement, and finally witnessing the majestic Cedar Falls was an unforgettable moment. It's definitely a highlight of our trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a refreshing outdoor adventure!!

The hikes have a variety of easy, moderate, strenuous levels. Beautiful hikes. Bear Cave, Rock House, Turtle Rocks, Cedar Falls. The over looks are great and provide ADA Access.
The smaller cabin is perfect for my 6 year old, wife and myself. With everything you need to cook, make a fire, etc.
We will return and do Canyon Trail, Seven Hollows, and hopefully the Boy Scout Trails.

Such a lovely, well maintained park, campground and amenities. We stayed at Campground B, space 49 for 4 nights starting 6/26/2023. We traveled the entire park, fished the lake and the river, and hiked some trails. The site was full amenities and had a tent site. There are varied amounts of amenities at different sites as well. The visitors center was great with pleasant staff. The auto museum was chock full of brand new condition that were 70 years old or more. Maher Lodge is a must see. The roads to the park are small, hilly type roads but not overly difficult. There aren’t any bait stores close, so bring your own. Firewood is available very close. I will stay here again it is such a top notch place.

Arrived, it was a nice facility. Some of the the front desk staff was friendly, the manager was lovely and kind.. we stayed a few days, and had to deal with another staff member think his name was Troy. His attitude was tolerable and kind of impatient.Being a consumer I expected better that, no room service which was fine, it was hard getting towels and requesting them when he was there. First day getting them was fine we figured out from the front desk on how to go about getting service leave it outside the door. The second day we didn't receive bedding and towels till 1:30 and they took the trash can as well, so we had to go buy trash bags. The lodging was OK, kind of small and enclosed, as well as getting things up and down to the rooms was difficult, being the pavement wasn't the smoothest, the carts couldn't go down the stairs. I'd hate to have been in a wheelchair. Overall, it was a beautiful experience; I just wouldn't lodge there again. The service wasn't all that to me; like I said, I felt tolerable vibes, but that's my opinion. As well as no security light during quiet time, it is pitch black. Going to get a drink from the vending machine . The light was so dim. We stayed three days in Mathers Lodge, garbage lining not changed until day 4.

We had a great time at this park. We stayed in section C I believe which is the older campground. Some of these sites are a tight fit and our water facet was so far away from my camper I couldn’t reach it with a 50 ft hose. I did like the mature trees in the area though and we were able to make it work. Each site has your typical amenities fire ring, lantern pole, tent pad, etc. The bathrooms were really well maintained just a little dated in our section and the showers offered little privacy. The visitors center was nice and new and offered a small educational exhibit. The park offers so many hiking trails and other amenities such as an on site restaurant, swimming pools, basketball courts, kayaking etc. There is so much for the family to do in the area definitely worth the drive to visit and stay for a weekend!

Just a two night visit and a promise to come back! The A and B campgrounds are new and spacious but the C and D campgrounds are old and the sites are of uneven quality. Some may be too small, too uneven or too close for some people. The hiking is excellent with excellent markings and maintenance. The Mather Lodge is perfectly situated with marvelous views. I can’t speak to the quality of food, drink and lodging but I bet they’re good. Restrooms clean and utile if a bit old in some cases. We’ll be back to fully explore the hiking for sure.

Not much wildlife since the area had a recent prescribed burn. But it'll surely please!
Mig loved it too!

Woolly hollow state park is a really nice park. There is a trail to walk with benches along the trail. You can fish around the lake and swim at the beach area. Very clean showers and restrooms up the hill not a bad walk to it. There are swings and a snack shop for the folks that do not want to drive into town. There are plenty of tables for families to picnic at and there is also a pavilion you can rent for bigger parties. I will update after my stay there I am going to dry camp for 12 days. They do accept the America the beautiful card for disabled folks I think it is half off the original price.

Great place to hike and camp! The huckleberry trail is very pretty. I went when after it rained so the water was rolling good

Beautiful park! Well maintained and lots of room to spread out! Showers and bathrooms were immaculate. Had the best morning ever just sitting outside drinking coffee and watching all the beautiful birds!

A nice quiet park with camp sites and a small lake. I especially like the Huckleberry Trail. A nice easy trail with wooden foot bridges over the creeks. If you go the day after a rain there is a waterfall to see.

Our first trip here. Nice full hookup sites, a few primitive tent spots. Beautiful fall leaves, very peaceful during the week. Husband enjoyed the challenging 9.5miles of mountain biking trails. Clean modern bathrooms. Great 2 day trip.

Lake is pretty low right now, but the hiking and bike trails are fantastic, and very popular. Full hook-ups for motor homes and trailers, plus camping sites.

Very clean and quiet. Went fishing but didn’t catch anything. Great place for kids to play and hiking.

We stayed over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We have three young children who enjoyed riding around the park on their bikes, playing at the playground, viewing the cabin and hiking. The camp sites are spacious and well maintained. We will definitely be back.

Lovely in early spring or fall. Gets a bit crowded as it warms up especially on the weekend but not bad during the week. Beautiful body of water and lots of trails. Clean restrooms. Great place for dogs on a leash.

Visited this park on our way to another park. Good looking park. Great place to just relax. Not much to do other than trails, swimming, fishing, but that's a plus for us. The staff at the visitors center was very friendly and helpful.
The place seems small, but that was a plus on the appeal side for us. Clean sites and didn't look too pack together. The whole place was very well maintained by the looks of it.
Definitely coming back, but not before we get the rest of our passport stamps. 26 more to go....

Go in Spring you won't be disappointed. The falls are beautiful. Lots of rocks to climb on. The Rangers are so nice and the park is very clean. Lots of picnic tables. If you want to camp I understand you have to make reservations a couple of months in advance
Created by the damming of the Little Red River in 1962, this reservoir flooded the town of Higden.
Great lake!! Fishing is always good. Water is way down compared to normal so watch for stumps! Lot of marinas to choose from and go to.

My wife grew up camping at Choctaw as a kid in the 60’s. Her dad helped build the electric substation at the dam and then the transmission line out of it. He watched the lake fill. We got married in 1974 and started camping there. From Choctaw, to Sugar Loaf, to the Narrows and ended up for yrs at Devils Fork. We said one day we would have a place on the lake. In 2014 our dream came true. Love this lake, great people, beautiful mountains

This lake is pretty big and not very crowded with boats. The lake is super deep due to the dam. Go visit the fish hackery it is awesome to see all the fish at various ages ready to stock the river.

Lots of fun! I don’t like big crowds for things like this but you really can’t tell all that much here. There are lower parts of the cliff for kids (or you if you’re not ready for the big one) and it gradually gets higher till... the big boy jump. It’s not as bad as it looks from the top. Just jump, you won’t regret it!

Loved our vacation here. Good fishing. Nice lake to tool around in a boat. Lots of marinas (we used Fairfield Bay Marina and loved it.) The shoreline is wooded and pretty. There is an island in the middle that you can access by canoe or ferry. Water was very clean. Very enjoyable.

Our favorit Arkansas lake. Lake is clean and as plenty to do. No matter if you like skiing, tubing or fishing this lake has it all. Plenty of marinas located around the lake to refuel or grab a quick bite to eat. Don't forget to grab a souvenir t-shirt every marina has their own unique selection. Great 4th of July firework shows also.

I'll never travel to Branson without this trip planner again
Went during the winter so all the leaves have dropped or are brown. It’s a different kind of beauty. The sunset and views were still lovely. The gps told me that it would be a 2.5 hour drive. I think it was closer to 3 due to how winding the road was. It is a long drive on Hwy 23 “the pig trail” with hairpin turns. Then there was 8-9 miles on a dirt road that is very narrow. The dirt road is very bumpy and there are many blind corners and hills where you suddenly have to get over for oncoming vehicles. I would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle or one you don’t care as much about.
Google maps tries to take people to the wrong location and you will find yourself on a private driveway with a no trespassing sign on the gate. There is a 3-4 car parking area 0.25 miles before that before the turn onto the private drive and that is the parking and trailhead.
The hike is moderately easy going downhill first and then back uphill, then hiking along the cliffs for a short ways. The hike was about 3 miles and we stopped to take pictures several times. It took us about two hours.
It gets dark out on the trail about an hour earlier than actual “sundown” and that dirt road is pretty bad in the dark. I also lost cell service for the last part of the drive and hike. This was fine until I was trying to drive home and there were several forks in the dirt road that you have to remember which way since the gps is “offline”
It is definitely worth the trouble for the amazing views but next time I will definitely leave earlier to have more time and not feel rushed by the oncoming sunset/dark.

Entrance to the whitaker point. The road is unpaved and the markings could've been clear. There's an hidden marking behind the parking lot. Suggest to visit before sunset and not many options available here for camping. There are few cabins available nearby to stay. Have a nice hike

If you're nearby I recommend stopping here for a bit.
This is a great spot to stop and see for miles with a small gift shop. There's a short tower you can climb to get a little better view, but there's an easily accessible area on the ground only 30 feet from the nearest parking spots making it easy for just about anyone to enjoy this scenic view.

Nice overlook into the valley. I’m thinking when this was named the AR “Grand Canyon”, they had never seen the real Grand Canyon! LOL! Still a cool place to take in the scenery. Not crazy about the gravel parking lot on a motorcycle.

This place is a beautiful facility with old time feels. Shops that show you trade skills back in the day, and also you can purchase the items they make. They have blue grass and folk being performed thru the day. The theater has local talent and also some famous bluegrass bands that come in. Staff are always friendly. This is very worthwhile to visit if your in the area. Tickets are great price too and they offer yearly pass for an option too.

I visited the Arkansas Folk Center with my son and two grandsons (2 & 5) today.
It was well worth the trip!
We enjoyed visiting the leather shop and then going to the pottery shop where the older grandson created a snake from clay!
Then we settled in to hear the BEST music I have heard in some time! It was refreshing!
All smiles from our crew as we listened to a trio that was fantastic! I do have to say we were all in awe of the 11 year old young lady (Charline) that played the fiddle, sang and did a “heck” of a jig dance!
Thank you—-we’ll be back,

We enjoyed Ozark Folk Center, I think if we went on the weekend there would be much more going on. However we really enjoyed it. All of the craftsmen are individual business owners so be sure to patronize them. I loved the log cabin with the rock gardens and root cellar. The restaurant wasn’t open and a few other areas weren’t either. Blacksmithing, broom making, stained glass, knife making, Pottery making, printing press, hand bows, painting, herbalist, live bluegrass music, etc, all very interesting. I will probably go back later in the week when there’s a little more action but we still saw a lot. If you show them your Blanchard Springs Cavern ticket you get a discount! I think it save us $4 each!

We went for the banjo and fiddle competition. FYI, parking is in a lower lot with shuttle service up the hill. Good gift store and the craft village seems worth a visit. Due to the distance from literally everything, we learned we need to camp/lodge there for festivals!
It is 7 miles round trip. Very , very, trying. I got only two sweet candies with me and on way back felt like disy and very tired. But it was amazing scenery, bluffs, river. If you decide to go to Goat trail from HIH, it will add up another 6 miles to you trip.

Hurricane River Cave is currently closed for restoration under new ownership. The owners are making significant upgrades to the lighting, walkways, bridge, and stairs to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors. Once the repairs are completed, the cave will be reopened for exploration.
My wife and I took 2 ten year olds to this cavern. It turned out to be a self-guided tour, which was fantastic. We were able to do more and see more, up close...not the cookie-cutter, roped off experience you get from the other caves.
Philip Thibeaux — Google review
Cave has new owners and is closed for restoration. Owners have upgraded all the lighting in the cave and are rebuilding the walkway, bridge and stairs. Will be reopened when repairs are done and a safe, enjoyable recreation experience can be had by all visitors.
Gary Schuler — Google review
Never made it to the cave, arrived approximately an hour after they were suppose to be open. Walked around to find clothes hanging up, old food/food/pots and pans laying around the shop outside, all the equipment was out in the rain, closed sign with the lights off.
Called the owner(s) and they apologized and said someone would be on site in a few minutes. After 20 minutes, a worker came downstairs and opened the shop. We went inside only to hear him still trying to get ready, he was living upstairs of the shop and was still asleep with another woman yelling at him asking if he's going to get out of bed. After 45 minutes of waiting, he never acknowledged we were even there, waiting by ourselves. Another worker drove up on an ATV, once again never acknowledged us. So we left, only person to even speak to us was another customer that wanted her flashlights back from the day before. Highly unprofessional. Unorganized. Very disappointed in the staff.

This was a super cool cave! I’ve been to a LOT of caves through the US and this one was one of the most interesting. It is a living cave and wonderful examples of flow stones, stalactites, stalagmites, cave straws, curtains, cave popcorn, etc. Our whole family had a great time! The Dripstone Tour was age and ability friendly. The tour guides were knowledgeable, funny, and thorough. Would definitely go again!
Tyger C. — Google review
We had a great time here taking a tour of a cave 200 feet underground! The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful! The formations were remarkable and the ecosystem was mesmerizing, as we saw a few bats fly through. It was around $16 per ticket when we went on a Saturday. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the next available tour, which wasn’t too bad. We used this time to check out the nearby waterfall and trails. They also had a gift shop with a few rocks/ crystals, Blanchard Springs memorabilia such as shirts and mugs, a few snacks such as chips and twizzlers, stuffed animals, and more. I would highly recommend for them to consider opening a food truck (or a few) outside of the building for customers to enjoy while they wait. Since this is in the middle of nowhere, food options are few and far. They could make a lot of money and improve the quality of the visits with a food truck offering burgers or hot dogs, etc. Just an idea. Very lovely place with lots of beautiful natural scenic views worth checking out!

Amazing caves! We took the one-hour tour, the only one offered in early April. It shows the most beautiful parts of the caves and is long enough to really absorb the beauty of the caves, but short enough for kids and those who may not be up for a longer walk.
Price was very reasonable, and I'm happy to support the preservation of places like this.

We had a great time going through the cave. Everyone that worked there was informative and friendly. A great place to spend some time out of the heat. Great cave to visit! Reopened after being closed for 2 years. The Dripstone tour offers a .4 mile tour with a few sections of incline but is paved walkways all the way with handrails. Truly one of Arkansas best places to explore with the family and friends. With the many tours going on make sure you either get there early or buy tickets on line for the best tour times. Some if the best tours are on the weekends Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The surroundings at the park has many great things to enjoy. Campground and pleasant experience awaits anyone. There is great place for swimming right there for everyone to enjoy.
Fishing is fun and very addictive too on Mirror lake. It is a great sweat hole for a hook.

A 1+ hour guided tour. The cave was beautiful and tour guide was the best. He was entertaining and took his time. We even got to see a few bats inside which weren't supposed to be there. We loved visiting these areas and playing in the spring! It was absolutely beautiful! There are easier wooden paths and medium dirt paths in areas. Our kids and myself had fun playing in the water a bit. Our dog had fun too! The water is quite chilly and some areas are slipped in the water due to moss, algae, etc. Water shoes with some tread is recommended. Would definitely visit again!

Whimsical hiking trails for adults being accompanied by kids or if your out with friends there are harder trails to select. The views throughout are breath taking, and the wooden walkway so you can get close to the waterfall is awesome!! There’s a historic building that is in view as well as baby blue water to dip your feet in. The whole area has different hiking trails that follow the water of go up into the hills, if your a nature person you won’t be disappointed! I suggest hiking boots or durable running shoes for the trails ✌️

I’ve been hiking this park for 35yrs. Anytime is a great time to unplug and hike this park. The natural spring is never the same twice. All the bathhouses are very clean and spacious and the park staff are extremely resourceful and willing to help you have the best moments while in the park. I was one of the first participants in “The Wild Cave Tour” where they guided you over the rails of the Dripstone cave tour (I think) and into the depths of the Earth. 4 miles of head lamp lighting, crawling on hands and knees traversing the “Little Grand Canyon” and being promised ‘if you fall; we only came in with 8’: I somehow survived. The primitive camping, zero cell signal and the relaxing waters and top rate park crew keeps this this park timeless and inviting.

There is parking right ahead of the mirror lake falls that is left side and park there you will finding excellent fishing spots throughout the year and you can enter onto the mountains from the bridge if you straight you will find path to right of the perpendicular to the falls reach the end of it and you will see a opening use that you will get your own spot.
Try also taking path next to parking which will lead to the old mill that is now abandoned.
It has good view

I’ve been fishing with them since i was a kid. After 10+ years of not going we went during late November this year and had a great time. The guide was great, the lunch was amazing, and the fishing cant be beat. Highly suggest using this fishing outfit.

Cotter Trout Dock is a must when fishing White River! Very friendly and helpful staff. Must definitely ask for Elvin for your guide! He is awesome! Kept us on fish all morning! Nice rainbows and some big browns! We also rented a boat from them and went out on our own. First rate gear and had a great afternoon.

I ADORE Mrs. Debbie oh so much! Me and my boyfriend had such a great time! It was our first time rainbow trout fishing and we already want to go back and do it again! We also did the shore lunch. Ya'll... the hush puppies, the bacon, the banana pudding, the fries, OUR fish! It was so dang delicious! Doug was our guide and cooked us up not only one heck of a meal but brought us to some good spots! My boyfriend and Doug got along real well and it was just such a nice addition to a beautiful day out on the water! When we got back, they packaged up our fish and the sweetheart of sweethearts, Mrs. Debbie, had a calender collage of the pictures she had taken that morning before we set sail! It's the little things ya'll and Cotter Trout has a great thing going on! Can't wait to be back!

Recognizing that fishing is a sport and that it may never be the same way twice, I have to let you know that this was an incredible experience. Mrs. Debbie was an amazing host, taking pictures and guiding us through the process. Eric was our guide and he kept us on fish all day, all within a mile of the dock so we didnt have to spend a bunch of time motoring to our fishing spot. We caught our limit of rainbow trout within the first 90 minutes and then switched to try and catch my father his first German Brown. We spent the rest of the day not only looking for Browns but actually catching them too! We managed to catch and release 7-8 Browns with Eric finding us a new spot whenever the fishing slowed down. It was a wonderful experience and one that we would love to repeat! 10/10 would suggest booking with Cotter Trout Dock!

Excellent fishing guide, Eric, found all the good trout fishing spots. The lunch was delicious and the fishing even better. The day long fishing trip was well worth the money. Everyone there is so helpful!

Everyone was fantastic and Mark, our guide, was amazing! My husband and I had an amazing time, it was exactly what we needed and so much more!! Everything about our experience was perfect! Thank you so much to the folks at Cotter Trout Dock for making our weekend one we will remember for the rest of our lives. We will definitely be booking again. I just can't say enough great things about the folks that made our day amazing and how hard they worked to ensure it couldn't go any other way.

Amazing piece of the White River! Ms. Debbie is a huge help with any fishing information you need! We really enjoyed the Big Spring swimming hole!
The Garvan Woodland Gardens is a botanical garden located just outside of the town of Fayetteville, Arkansas. The gardens are renowned for their well-manicured grounds, with a fantastic variety of plants, trees, and wildflowers. The gardens are closed on January and Thanksgiving and Christmas days, but they are still a great place to visit any time of year.
We were lucky enough to hit the gardens while the tulips were in full bloom. Really nice enjoyable time. Fair $15 adult entry fee. These gardens give you tons of freedom to roam about walk across waterfalls get off the main paths on stepping Stones closer to nature. Truly enjoyed the freedom these gardens give for roaming. Excellent garden area for children also. If you are a senior or have any immobility that keep you from getting around you can also request a golf cart tour to get around easier. I think the golf cart tours are included with admission but I am not 100% certain on this.

This is probably one of my favorite botanic gardens I've visited in a long time. A few key highlights was the Anthony Chapel, the tree house and a few of the overlooks. I love that it isn't just one path, there's multiple sub paths you can take through the gardens, like stepping stones. We had no problems finding parking and we went during the afternoon on a weekday, might be different for other times like the morning. I believe the chapel is free if you walk in the entrance to the East but the actual gardens is like $20. Great place to spend the day, views, peace and some fun!!!

This is a spectacular botanical garden incorporating multiple styles like Japanese, European and contemporary landscaping styles. The garden is designed by the University of Arkansas school of architecture and it's quite impressive how the architects weaved so many elements together like winding paths, bridges, ponds, arbors, treehouse, rock garden and the lake into a fluid tapestry. The tree house and rock garden definitely are a must see if you have kids. Highly recommended for families!

My favorite adventure of our vacation! It was pretty hot the day we were there but there is a lot of shade and a breeze made things way better. A very nice long walk through nature without the drastic elevation changes. Beautiful gardens and architecture. Highly recommend and I will go back.

LOVED visiting this garden! We enjoyed meeting George the Peacock and his trainer letting us feed him. The chapel was even more stunning in person. The walking trails were beautiful and very well maintained.

I took the golf cart tour with my grandma & had a great time! Our guide was very knowledgeable, skilled at navigating around large crowds, & patient when we wanted to stop and take pictures. Beautiful place! We loved the cafe too.

This is place is absolutely beautiful!! My girlfriend and I made a Saturday trip in early spring to see this place and it was absolutely worth the cost of admission and the drive time. It's fields and fields of gorgeous flowers of all colors and species. They have a giant artistic tree house for the kids and kids at heart to enjoy with a waterfall and creek framing it in... one of the most breathtaking cathedrals I've seen with roof to sky windows... and a Japanese cherry tree garden with a small waterfall backdrop that looks straight out of a painting.

This is a beautiful garden which for you to enjoy. Cost is $20 per person, and $5 for a dog to tour the grounds. You will see everything from a structured treehouse, waterfall, a creek, and even a small cave behind the waterfall that you can crawl through if you're physically able.
The walking trails are wide easy accessible some of which are gravel some of which are rock. You may even experience or see some multiple creatures that live in the area.
The restrooms are clean the gift shop is nice and well taken care of and this place even offers a grill for your dining pleasure.
During the Christmas time of year many decorations are placed throughout the garden which could be viewed as they are illuminated and help to bring the garden to life.
It's a wonderful place to simply spend time with friends and family, to take a stroll enjoy nature and get some of that much needed exercise your doctor keeps telling you about.
Take time to visit the gardens enjoy your day and take your time walking along the trails and experiencing the wonders of nature and what Arkansas has to offer.

Even if you are not a regular allergy sufferer be sure to at least have allergy stuff with you. We don't normally don't suffer from allergies but my whole family felt it when we went. Other than that this park is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend coming here!!! Everywhere you looked there were sights to see. So many waterfalls, just stunning. Definitely a good place to take family photos or senior portraits, so be sure to dress nice. I wish we could have stayed longer and took in more of the breathtaking views!

The cucumber sandwich was super yummy. Beautiful stroll. There is so much to look at and explore. If you go early, be sure to visit the chapel before it gets crowded. The resident peacocks will take food from your hand. Very peaceful.

Beautiful garden, very well maintained. One of the must see places to visit in Hotsprings. There are many walking tracks and gardens to cover, so plan to stay here for the whole day and enjoy outdoors at this place. Meet and greet the adorable Peacock George. He will surely steal your hearts. They have lots of Japanese Maple trees, so we are pla ningi to visit again during fall season. They already started setting up the holidays. Hearty that there will be 2 million plus lights in action for Christmas. It will be a good idea to sign up for new letter, when you can get regular updates all year round. Buy tickets online to avail a discount of $5 per ticket.

Me and my wife visited Garvan Woodland Gardens as our first trip on our honeymoon. We enjoyed every second of the expertly manicured park. The architectural craftsmanship of the man made exhibits is quite breathtaking. If you enjoy nature and architecture do not pass this up on your next trip to Hot Springs!

This place was awesome and much larger than expected. Give at least a half day to explore if not a full day. I only wish they opened earlier. 10am is late. Other than that, beautiful place, they are getting Christmas lights ready so seeing the stuff lying around and plastic poles everywhere kinda ruins the view a little bit but wouldn’t deduct more than a star for that because I’m sure it’s going to be beautiful when done. Also a great idea when weather cools down and plants aren’t thriving as much. The lights add the vibrant colors missing when weather doesn’t allow the vibrant flowers. Also love that it’s dog friendly. The chapel is also a great touch, just a short walk and absolutely stunning architecture. Wife already has plans for renewing our vows here.

Beautiful gardens! We stopped by here on our visit to Hot Springs National Park and spent about 2.5 hours walking around! There were lots of different decorations up for Christmas time. We liked the trail that goes up to the lake. The treehouse and tower were also cool to look at! The only sad part was the chapel was closed when we went due to an event. The gift shop was cute with friendly staff too!

Great place for family hikes. Especially good for amateur hikers as the trails are well kept.
Staff- staff members were excellent and seemed to thoroughly enjoy conversing with visitors and helping out.
Kids- Great for kids. Trails are well kept or paved. Map especially helped keep us on track to see the path to the next spot we wanted to see. Kids enjoyed playing the nature bingo and everything on the list! It was a great way to keep them engaged and concentrated on the hot July walks.
Trails- we opted for the non-paved trails which tended to be shadier for the hot day. Did not get to complete all trails. The only trail we missed was the long one set away from the main area.
Price- if you do not plan to spend a lot of time here, then I could see where the price is steep. If you plan to spend most of your day here hiking and seeing all the sights then the price is fair to have safe and well kept trails for the whole family.
Sights- the gardens are beautiful, even in the heat of the summer. I could see that it would be even better at other times of the year. The chapel in the woods is a must see (especially to grab some AC in the heat). My favorite sight was the amphitheater which doesn’t seem to get many visitors, but it looked like a fairy tale spot with miss covered areas. The treehouse area was a great spot for everyone.
We saw 2 snakes on our journey which was great for the kids.
Plan to spend a full day here and bring walking shoes and I think you will be impressed!

LOVED IT. It was so magical and beautiful. To enter the gardens, the admission is 25$ but we are cheap and walked around the front grounds and over by the Chapel. So beautiful. 💯

Beautiful gardens to walk. All the workers/volunteers are super sweet. We spent all day wondering around and exploring. Worth every penny. They have little nature Bingo for kids and offer a military discount if you purchase tickets at the entrance.

Nice place to take a stroll, downside is it's cheaper to buy tickets online. It's $20 per adult if bought online (no convenience fee) vs. $25 at the gate. Military service members and Vets. can get the same discount right at the gate. We spent about an hour, saw a few cool structures and plants. There's an option for touring via electric cart for those who don't or can't walk for too long.

Buy tickets online. It will save you some money. It is a nice big garden. Your ticket will work for the whole day, can re-enter throughout the day. The staff is nice and knowledgeable. The tree house is not worth 2 million dollars. It's a neat design, but not at the price tag. The children's garden is nice with all the rocks and a waterfall. The mini train wasn't on when we were there so it was a bit disappointing for the kids. Our whole family had fun there though. There's a cafe in the garden, however we didn't try it. Plenty of parking spaces, easy in and out.
