This place is amazing! Really enjoyed the tour and our guide was really nice and very insightful on all the cats and their back stories. Keep in mind this is a RESCUE center. These people do an amazing job saving big cats and giving them a better home.

Joe has created an amazing sanctuary for big cats. Many of these animals spent a majority of their lives in unimaginable conditions, and now they have the space and care they deserve. The enclosures are huge. The staff follow strict procedures to keep both humans and cats safe. We had an amazing afternoon seeing these beautiful creatures up close. Check them out if you're nearby!

Loved This!! Wasn't advertised but was brought and it was amazing. There's no official parking, you literally parked along the roadside. Tour leader was very knowledgeable and funny and cool. Great souvenirs

Absolutely so much for all ages. Our tour guide was fantastic and very informative! For $10, you cannot go wrong with this amazing facility. I drove 2 hours away to get there and would do it again!
Carlee Russell — Google review
In a half-hour tour, we learned about many of the animals they care for, how they came to be at the rescue center, and saw their unique personalities. It's clear that the staff love and care for the animals. We visited late in the day, when the animals had already been fed, so they were sleepy. The best time to visit is a cloudy day around 10 am.

This was a nice up close experience with the exotic cats. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us the stories on what landed the cats at the rescue center. My entire family enjoyed our experience. I am only rating it 4 stars due to the following that could be improved upon. There wasn't a parking lot. The bathroom facility was a port a potty. The animal enclosures look as if they could use some updating as far as fencing goes, but then again, we are also not experts in this field. Overall an enjoyable experience for our family at a reasonable price, and we will likely be back!

Took my daughter on a spring break adventure to this amazing gem of a place. I've loved cats my whole life especially tigers. It's wonderful to see these beautiful babies living a peaceful life for the rest of their days. A lot of them have come from bad places so it's amazing to see them given a better life. It was an hour long walk around the park. It's a wonderful place to take your family. Small kids are welcomed but I honestly don't think they would enjoy it as much as an older child. It is a bit of walking. I wish I lived closer or I would be a more frequent visitor. You should consider a trip if you enjoy cats like me. Also consider donating so they can continue doing an awesome job!

The staff was fantastic. It's good to know that places like this are here to take care of these beautiful cats. So much information and so sad how these beautiful cats were treated before they came to their new home with them. Everyone should visit and help support these beautiful Animals. Please visit.
You will really enjoy and learn so much about them.

We had a great tour with Sam! We needed a ride for our tour, which they accommodated. The path is gravel/stone, so if you walk, at least wear sneakers. The work they are doing here is so impressive. The cats look healthy and content. We highly recommend a visit!

My friend took me to this place one chilly morning in January recently. I was really not sure what to expect. But this place is really one of a kind. Having paid the modest entrance fee we chatted to the lady in the kiosk who then turned out to be out informative guide. We were joined by 4 local gentlemen and the 7 of us then started the tour. Our guide was extremely well informed and had little anecdotes for almost every tiger, bob cat, fox, leopard, puma that we saw. And there are many animals to view here. I don't think that I've ever been so close to these beautiful but dangerous animals. Some of the stories about their past were very sad.
Anyway, on such a dreary January day it was somewhat depressing to think that most, if not all of these animals will ever leave. They're bound to live the rest of their lives out here. And that's also sad as most have only a modest amount of space to prowl up and down.
If you ever in this part of Indiana I thoroughly recommend that you visit this very unique place.

Great place to go to see big Cats up close.
Make a reservation ahead of time since they take small groups on their tours.
A guided tour through the grounds with any available information on each Feline.
They rescue all types of felines from all over and many of the big cats are hollering at time during the tour.
You are walking through paths & grass etc so wear shoes or sneakers.
Will definitely go again.

It is a very neat tour. You must stay with your guide and they talk about each animal. Our 5 year old grandson had a little trouble staying quiet and listening.
Melodie Staley — Google review
Lovely walking tour with many well cared for exotic cats (lynx, bobcat, serval, tigers, white tigers, lions and pumas). The mornings are a special treat with the lions roaring back and forth to each other. It's very informative and the big cats are taken care of very well. Children love this place!

Beautiful place! We got super close to the cats and they’re obviously well cared for. Our guide did a great job telling us all about them and answered our endless amounts of questions.

By far, my favorite place to go! I can’t imagine people giving this place lower than 5 stars! I would give it more if I could! Joe and all of his staff are incredible! I’m a CVT, so learning about how they take care of all the cats on a medical stand point was fascinating. The work all the people do here is incredible! I’ve been multiple times and have even done the overnight experience! One of my favorite memories!!
I love this place and I can’t wait to go back!
Christina Bumpus — Google review
Pretty decent place!!! They're doing great work. I had a 7 and 3 yo and the only issue was they just wanted to see the cats and not hear the tour guide. Maybe guides could shorten it down for the littles?
Ashley Jones — Google review
This is a place that was created out of necessity. If it wasn't for this place some of these beautiful cats would have been put down. The visit here is 1000 times better than the zoo. It's you and the majestic cats divided by a chain link fence. This place is compassionate, exciting, sad and a once in a lifetime opportunity. Just wait when a Harly rides thru there! You will feel the vibration from the lion's roar. It's beyond incredible.

Rescue center shelters wide variety of big cats and you can experience them from near (relatively). They have started keeping other animals too like foxes etc.
The environment was quite calm and away from city - about 2 hrs drive from Lafayette. Definitely a must see if you visit IN.
Trinity, our guide, was very articulate and clear during the trip. She was patient enough to answer each of our questions with best of her knowledge. Looks like cats will start loving her too eventually as she is relatively "new" to her job.

My two daughters had a great time and the tour guide was exceptionally good explained everything answered every question. Just a really good place that everyone should visit and help out!
Boat rides on an underground river, a trail to a sinkhole & prospecting for semi-precious stones.
This is a great cave to visit! Make sure your check out the Indiana Cave Trail to get your free t-shirt.
Really appreciated that the staff recommended the nature walk that includes a deep sinkhole and native forest. If it's been rainy, call to make sure they're open.

Our tour guide was very informative.
The girls loved the boat tour, the cave is beautiful. There are some really neat things in the gift shop, and the natural landscape is breathtaking! The walk is pretty steep though to get to the boat, so if you have mobility issues, it may be rough, otherwise, a wonderful family adventure! The entire tour, takes roughly 1 hour.
Chelsea Francis — Google review
This was a very enjoyable cave tour! All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide was "Cave Man" Dave, and he did a wonderful job of leading the tour and sharing information about this cave and caves in general. There were a few picnic tables behind the main building that would be good for families and they are close to clean restrooms.
Ken Weber — Google review
Absolutely an awesome experience. Our guide, although only 16, was amazing with great knowledge, a quick wit, and a great sense of humor with the guests and a good boat pilot. The park is clean, the gift shop has lots to offer, the gem mining is fun and the boat tour is awesome. Highly recommend this park and cave to travel too. Way worth the day trip. Will definitely be back. And bring a strong flashlight if you wanna add a little more fun to the trip, just respect the rules when asked for total darkness conditions..There is generally plenty of parking, but weekends and holiday weekends right be a little tight and require a bit of a walk. Handicap parking available but must be able to board a boat. Kid friendly as well.

This was just a stop on our way to Big Splash. Turned out to be my favorite place. The store has so much to look at while waiting for our tour yet it was simple not to much in your face overwhelling gift shop vibe, also so clean the whole place was. Prices are all very reasonable from tickets to merchandise. Staff: you can tell each guy loves working there. Beyond knowledgeable, help and kind. Any question was answered and they were quick with it. We did mining for gems for a bit too always fun the station they have is easy to use.
Nick was our tour guide and we had a pretty quite group. You can tell he knew the job and cave well because he made the whole journey enjoyable. He taught us so much while kept us laughing.
I can't express how beautiful this cave is and I was just in awe of what nature has created. My photos don't do it justice.

What a great, out of the way, attraction. Everyone there was very friendly and knowledgeable. Cloe our tour guide was awesome. Very clear speaking voice, answered questions, and kept it very fun. Tour took about 45 minutes to an hour. This time of year they only have a handful of tours a day so call ahead. We got there around 10:50am and the next tour was at noon. So we killed time looking at the gift shop, walking the sink hole trail (takes about 30 minutes) then just having a snack in the car. Tour itself was fun and i came away feeling i learned a few things. Highly recommend for everyone except very young children or people with mobility issues.

I highly recommend taking a tour here. I’ve been on many guided cave tours, but this one is very unique since it’s entirely given while in a boat. The cave is amazing. You even see cave fish along with crayfish. The staff is very friendly and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. There’s also a small gift shop on site.
Matthew Ritzler — Google review
This was an amazing experience. We surprised the kids and all were happy. The boat guide was funny and knowledgeable. Whether you are local or a visitor from out of town, I highly recommend a visit. Ps also buy a bag of dirt for mining. It's worth it. ⛏️🪨🛶

What a great place 💪🏻 We happened to be traveling by when we decided to stop. I'm sure glad we did. The boat trip underground was awesome. The mining was really neat, too.
Mark Ultz — Google review
What a charming and fascinating stop! We walked up to the gift shop to purchase tickets for their tour and was greeted by "Tommy" the black and white cat. My daughters couldn't resist patting him and Tommy preferred not to be touched, haha. The employees brought out a teaser toy for my 9 year old to play with Tommy while we paid for our tickets and bought a couple bags of mining rough for the kids to mine in their gem sluice. Arrowheads and fossils were discovered with enthusiasm, it was a great learning opportunity while we waited for our tour time. The walk down into the cave was a sharp declining ramp into the mouth of the cave and spiraled down to the docks. We boarded the boat and our tour guide gently steered the boat through the natural tunnels of Bluespring. We spied cave crayfish and cave fish, as it was early in the morning, the best time to see them. Though this cave isn't really known for its formations, there are still many beautiful things to witness here. We finished our Indiana Cave Trail here and received our t-shirts! Thank you folks for a memorable visit!

Awesome tour.
Longest boat tour I have been on anywhere. Great event and the tour guide was like 16 years old and one of the most knowledgeable cave guides I have experienced. A+, definitely would do again!
Jacob Ingram — Google review
What a wonderful experience! Dave and David did a wonderful job on our tour. We ended up having the boat to ourselves. We did wait about an hour, but only because there was a class trip ahead of us. There was plenty to keep us occupied until our tour slot so we didn’t mind. Gemstone mining was a blast. My son had the best time. All the staff members were so nice and helpful! We will definitely be back
Laura H — Google review
We were passing through and we wouldn’t have been able to make the tour without some above and beyond accommodation from staff, which they didn’t hesitate to offer (shout out Andrew and Keagan).
The cave itself is spectacular, a one of a kind experience in the Midwest as far as I know. Our guide Keagan was friendly and knowledgeable, able to answer all questions about the caves history and geology. A must-go if you’re in the area.
Jason Morton — Google review
Absolutely a gorgeous experience! The caves are stunning and it’s a nice boat ride for about an hour all the way inside with fun demonstration. 4 stars out of 5 because our tour guide keagen, although a good kid, did not inform us much about the history of the caves apart from a 3 minute quick spiel, and kind of interrupted the fun while speaking of other unrelated details. Highly recommend it, especially in a big group!

I love visiting the different caves in Indiana and Kentucky. My kids have a blast at every cave we visit since each one is unique. This one is really fun since it is a boat ride and is relatively long. The walk down the hill and back is the hardest part since it is very steep so be aware of it before going! We did have to wait a bit before the next tour started.
Kenneth Randles — Google review
It was a tremendous experience. The boat trip into the cavern lasts an hour and costs $22 for adults. Worth it! Later, we walked on a short trail above the cavern. We went on weekdays. The tour starts at every hour. There is no waiting time, and you do not need to make a reservation beforehand.
They have a smart and sweet cat, Tommy. (: He was the first one to welcome us to the park. If you see him around, please cuddly him. He was hungry for a cuddly since the employees were busy accommodating guests. We cuddled him often, and he followed us everywhere, even to a short trail. He was constantly meowing, calling us to go back to the office. We were told he chased hikers on a trail and came to the office with them. Later, the employees decided to keep him. Thank you for taking care of him, Bluespring!

The people that work there are very 👍 nice. They have activity for the kids to find 💎 gemstones. The boat ride going down 80 feet below land in the cave was great.

Expansive preserve featuring 3 fishing lakes, wooded campsites, seasonal nature center & pool.
If you like fishing, moderate to easy hiking trails. This place is awesome. Camp sites are large gravel pads on most. Installing new modem pit toilets in the remote areas. They also had share a book boxes around the campground, grandson loved that.

Those of us closer to Indy don’t hear about Shakamak as much since it’s farther away but we’re missing out. It looks like a great place to take a family. They have cabins and a large pool area. I came here for a hike. Trail 1 is great. Great Lake views and some of the best aquatic plant life I’ve seen in Indiana. They keep the trail in great shape although there are a few areas that need maintenance. I saw many people fishing as well.

A beautiful state park. Gorgeous fall colors and many areas to enjoy and explore.
Hiking trails, cabins for rent, canoeing, camping and other wonderful outdoor activities. Enjoy a day in the park or stay there in a cabin or in your RV.
A must visit in southern Indiana!

One of my favorite Indiana State parks! Very nice facilities. The campground has large semi private sites and seem easy to get into. The lakes are nice to paddle on. There are nice roads to ride bikes on and the pool looks amazing! Several trails are available to hike on. The family cabins look nice.
Heather Ison — Google review
Boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, picnic shelters, cabins and camp sites for overnights, even some CCC and US Olympic Diving Team history...this park has it all.
We arrived in early Fall so the pool was closed but we were able to rent a paddle boat so we could see the woods from the water's surface. Hints of autumn color, a fresh breeze and a little exercise paddling around Lake Shakamak, what a great afternoon.
Staff was pleasant, helpful and available. Pit toilets looked brand new and were clean (as clean as a pit toilet can be that is, quickly Go then go quickly is a good rule).
And the name, Shakamak...just rolls off your tongue! Keep it up Indiana, some wonderful State Parks here.

Beautiful park with cute little cabins, which were very clean. Fishing, boating, kayaking, etc. are all possible with 3 lakes at the park. We had a great time during our stay inside the park.

Had a bit of family time together. Saw some wildlife and enjoyed the sunrise from the screened in porch of our cabin. Very happy we had AC in our cabin. Had a bit of stink bug problem while there but was informed it happens (talking 100s inside/outside cabin). Loved fishing from the dock and caught/released a ton of fish. Next time we will bring out paddle boards. Large lakes. Pool wasn't open. I'm sure it gets very busy during the summer.
Chelsea Perkins — Google review
This was our pups' first time at a lake. We were hoping there would be an area with picnic tables next to the water, but we didn't find one. We spent some time on a couple docks and headed back home.
Kacy Skomp — Google review
I loved the pool, but I would not recommend the slide that shoots you down into the deep end of the pool. Unless you're a good swimmer you'll be fearing for your life. Or, maybe I'm just someone who doesn't know a thing or two about swimming and how floating in water works.
I was struggling and I'm sure the lifeguards were eyeing me real hard, seconds away from jumping in. Luckily, that didn't happen, I swam to the edge, got out, and I stayed above 5ft after that.
But the big slide? Went down that tons of times. It's smooth, unless you go too fast then you'll feel one small bump near the end, but most of the time you're fine. Won't leave you any cuts or bruises or anything.
I also like the dandelion shower lookin thing, it's cold but fun to sit in. The pool also got closed temporarily for like 15 minutes, no clue why, it was a "safety check" but they didn't seem to be doing much. Although, I don't know a thing or two about swimming pool safety guidelines either.
During the "safety check" I was hungry, and I got a hotdog. There was no ketchup though! I used their salsa packets instead and honestly it wasn't even that bad..
The overall park, I can't say much about because I only really went there for the pool. I will say though, it's pretty nice I think.

Such a beautiful place to take the whole family. Beautiful trails to hike. Although this year the ticks were bad. Make sure to spray yourself and everyone else with mosquito and tick repellent and wear appropriate clothing and take necessary steps to prevent from having them on your persons. I found a few on my kids. Has a great pool with admission not being too expensive. There is no beach so the pool is your only option. We stayed in a cabin and they're fairly clean. The cleaning crew hired by DNR comes in and cleans an hr or so after you check out. They disinfect everything after each person/ people leave their cabin. There's a small Walmart about 10 minutes away from the campground. Great fishing location. They keep the lakes well stocked. Theres boat/ canoe rental. Multiple playgrounds in different areas of the campground. A basketball and tennis court. It was our first time here in our family goal to visit every state park in Indiana. We will be visiting this one again in the future for sure. Thank you DNR for a wonderful state park for our family to visit and make memories that will last forever.

Park is beautiful, lots to do. We stayed at the campground. Bath house was great. Some sites get flooded after a rain but are spacious.
Be careful if you are trying to book sites back to back with others bc the map is incorrect. Otherwise park was quiet.
The walkway to the fishing pier had fallen and no one fixed it, was kind of disappointing was walking distance for the campers.

Awesome camping spot! My kids absolutely loved the water slides at the pool, so did we! Highly recommend!
Indoor water park with numerous slides, pools & playgrounds, plus arcade, dining options & lodging.
The kids had so much fun here! There are a lot of things to do, but their favorite was the slides. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was good. We had friendly service the entire time. Kids loved the arcade and the the breakfast was good too. I felt like we had a wonderful time and at a reasonable price. Definitely worth the money and the trip. We will be back.

The front desk employees were super nice but the rest of them were extremely rude!! No manners at all. It's waaay overpriced too. The water park is only fun/enjoyable for kids! Everywhere you go, it's crazy pack all the time! The breakfast according to the website was fantastic however it turned out to be very disappointing. Not real options at all. Now for our actual room...it was like a sauna even thought we had the air conditioner on high the whole day and night! Water pressure was damn near nonexistent. The TV had horrible picture. The hallways smelled like rotten feet. The BEAT part of our stay was the king bed! It was really comfortable and the kids enjoyed their bunk beds too! Definitely not going back!

There's a mildly terrifying hill you drive up to get to it and you need to bring a brick to plug your devices into the outlets directly. But those are literally my only "complaints". The staff is very nice and helpful, even reaching out when my daughter forgot her favorite stuffy in our room. The arcade is meh, but the water park is great. A nice lazy river for the parents to lounge in while the kids rode the water slides over and over. Price vs value was great!
Lauren McIntire — Google review
Room was nice was just not "updated" luckily did not experience what any of the negative reviews mentioned during our stay. Great service and very happy that the lifeguards were on top of any horse play or breaking rules. Getting to the resort was... interesting.. at least the way our GPS took us! Coming from the north. I highly recommend staying in a room so you can enjoy extra hours of no public at the park during evening and morning. Really thought of going to Great Wolf then found this for a much better price on a holiday weekend even. Did not disappoint especially with how much money we saved not going to Great Wolf. We did a LOT of the water slides. You do have to carry your tube up the stairs so be prepared for that. I thought my legs were going to be jello after our stay! Luckily I survived and somehow wasn't even sore legged. I thought the breakfast buffet that was included was pretty good.. scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. And of course cereal, apples and bananas. Wish they had pancakes or a waffle maker though. Oh we also did the shots package and got to enjoy a game of laser tag!

First time here, we bought day passes for the water park and brought our 5 and 2 year old. The water park is great and it being indoors and available year round makes us want to stay overnight. It has very large water slides, a kids water play ground, a lazy river, toddler water section, and an outside water area. It's simple but solid all around.
Justin Talbott — Google review
This was our first time visiting. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty nervous based on reviews. But we had a great time. We stayed overnight. Arrived early on the day of check-in and enjoyed the water park. We didn't end up getting to check in until about 5 due to the line come 4pm, but our room was super clean, smelled nice, and bug free. Staff was friendly. The number of people complaining that there isn't "adult staff" are the same "adults" who can't follow simple rules like no food or drink, adults only. Life guards had to constantly repeat rules to ADULTS!!!
*tip* it's a typical pool the bottoms are rough it's highly used wear water shoes :)

So very disappointed! I will start off by saying that for the price this was not worth it. We have stayed at great wolf and castaway bay many times and this was the worst experience compared to them. The water park was extremely dirty with trash all over the ground and I never saw anyone going around and cleaning both days we stayed. The bathrooms we even worse, no soap, no toilet paper, and dirty diapers everywhere. The chlorine was so heavy that my kids got sick to their stomachs and everyone was complaining of their eyes burning, including several guest around us. There were not enough tubes for even half the guest so we spent more time waiting on tubes than actually getting to use one. On top of all that our room was also not cleaned properly with trash from previous guest left out, toilet not cleaned, and bedding smelling funny. The only good things I can say from our stay was that breakfast was good and the staff at the restaurant even while overwhelmed were very friendly. Overall a very poor experience and we don’t plan on coming back.

Water park is super fun. Hotel check in should be bigger to accommodate more guests. Line was always long. But their
Customer service was great. Housekeeping was nice and I guess their feeling the pinch like all businesses with staffing. Our room wasn't ready at 6pm check in and hallway was full of dirty linens. Let's hope the economy can get back soon. I've stayed here before and it was great. This time was still great but lots of hiccups. Still a great time.

I definitely wanted to write a review regarding our stay because I was very impressed. I’m a single mom and took four boys for a birthday celebration, and sometimes we can be a “rough” bunch. The hotel was very accommodating to our needs. I have a special needs son and asked to be close to the water park, and we were only a few doors down! The staff was so friendly and informative during our stay. Even when my oldest boys got into the jacuzzi and Ariel asked them kindly to get out. My boys told her they were 18 and she had a great sense of humor regarding the matter! It’s hard to sit down in dine in eating with my son with special needs but the staff gave us to go boxes and everything we needed! This hotel made you feel welcomed and really wanted you to enjoy your stay! We will return!

We took our 5 kids here back in January 2023 and had an absolutely amazing time! The kids loved the bunk beds in the room. There was something for all of us to do at the water park. I think our kids would have stayed in the water all night if they could. We plan to go back again because we had such a great time! We also loved exploring French Lick. Such a cute little town with lots to do!
Jennifer Autry — Google review
We had a nice experience. It's definitely not a 4 star hotel. I would say it's a solid 3. It doesn't have a shuttle down to the town and back. You have to drive down to enjoy the shuttle bus that takes you anywhere you want to go. I would still come back to enjoy French lick and this indoor water park. If you're looking for classy it's in a different location if you're interested in family fun then this is your place.

We did not stay at the hotel, only came for a day pass at the water park. The day passes go through the water park side door (not the hotel lobby). Facility was clean, tubes and life jackets are in good condition. Water slides were fun (4 for bigger kids and adults, tiny one for toddlers and 2 medium ones for older toddlers). It is absolutely freezing cold inside the water park. Windows were open, fans were on full blast and it was shivering cold (we went on February, if it matters). The water is on the warm-ish side, but the air just makes it so cold, the kids will not let but an hour or two. Plenty of seating, lockers and bathroom stalls. Arcade was small but fun!

My kids had a great time. It's no great wolf lodge but for the short distance trip and half the cost you kinda get what you expect. Overall we will be back. Having extra resort only hours in the water park make it worth staying here. Yes the rooms could be cleaner and it's not updated but if you are traveling with kiddos it's a good little get away.

We came for my daughters birthday on Saturday 04/16 and I really enjoyed this place. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was so comfortable. We had a room with one queen bed and one king bed and bunk beds as well and it really was a nice decent room. My kids throughly enjoyed the water park. We came in the afternoon and the kids swam till check in which line was out the door but that typically is normal at any hotel during 4pm check in time on a busy filled weekend. We went out to eat and waited till the line died down then checked in hour and a half later and the kids went back into the water park again! It was just a wonderful nice weekend. The water park is big and the slides were fun. The lazy river was very relaxing and popular I could tell. I am pleased with our stay and will be back. Thank you.

The water park was really nice we really enjoyed ourselves. The rooms weren't as nice as I had expected for how much we paid because the sheets had stains on them, the microwave wasn't even plugged in and the handle was broken. The service is great the people were really nice and answered my questions for me. Location wasn't exactly great not too many restaurants only familiar restaurant was McDonald's. The buffet in the motel was too expensive $20 per person a little high for how much we paid for the rooms. One restaurant that we wanted to go to was close because it was New Year's eve.

First time here and me and my family had a blast, The rooms is in need of a few updates but not so bad we wouldn’t stay again. The kids had so much fun at the inside water park. Definitely coming back!!

Okay so this review may or may not be liked by many people but what I’m about to say NEEDS to be said.
1. Upon arrival I went to use the restroom and there was a child naked peeing in the drain, he must have had a “blowout” because there was poop from his mid back to his knees. They need a bathroom attendant or at least someone checking.
2. I was highly disappointed in the fact that there is nobody watching the adult only area, because we had kids coming and going the entire time.
3. There was not a single place to set my bag in the bathroom when it was time to get dressed and so therefore it was pretty hard to get some table or.
4. This is probably the most annoying and offensive thing I will talk about. They need MORE people watching the lazy river. It was supposed to be a great relaxing Saturday, instead there was a small group of kids wrestling right next to us. They was physically the whole way around which made it impossible to enjoy the lazy river. If your children do not know how to enjoy a day with the public please do us all the favor of keeping them home!!!
5. The water was freezing everywhere except the hot tub and the humidity in the building was almost unbearable I have to keep going outside. I have asthma as well as 1 million other people there has to be a way to fix that.
**Things we did like/enjoy**
1.This was our first time and I was surprised at the size of it. It’s huge!
2.That pizza was probably the best I’ve ever had other than Arni’s.
3.Aside from the baby in the bathroom the cleanliness was amazingly kept up with well.
I will be back for at least one more visit so my can experience it since he couldn’t come today but after that I probably won’t be back. It’s a great idea for the kids but there is just too many cons vs. pros for me.

Our first time here, and truly, we are loving it! The hotel itself is older it seems, but that in no way reflects its cleanliness, or comfort.
The water park has something for everyone, at every age. Staff are extra friendly, and not so uptight you feel like you can’t let loose a little and have fun with the kids.
It’s a smaller water park compared to GWL, but for literally less than HALF the cost, we will definitely make this our new destination! The only thing they don’t have- is the wave pool. We didn’t miss it anyway. This is the perfect weekend getaway for the family.

The rooms are your basic hotel rooms, very comfortable beds, the staff work super hard to keep everything clean.
The customer service is amazing. Super impressive. I love the texting feature and online ability to sign waivers.
The food is consistent and decent. Love that you can get to go.

Took my husband and son since we had day passes, employees were very nice and never yelled when people were breaking rules, bathroom could've been a little cleaner but then again, has a waterpark bathroom ever actually been fullly clean? Water was very warm and didn't freeze us to death. we were a little nervous since most reviews claimed it was bad but these people are probably overreacting. Would recommend to anyone who needs a quick cure of cabin fever!

Took my family here for a 2 day stay. The staff was great and my 5 kids had an amazing time. We will be staying here again as soon as possible. It was clean and the staff were exceptionally nice and more than helpful. They have a pirates suite that can accommodate 8 people comfortably. We had counter service food on the pool deck and a breakfast buffet at restaurant in the morning. Everything was great. Highly recommend staying here.

Last hotel stay there my special needs child lost their water park/room bracelet within the first slide ride, was charged to replace it even though they're very flimsy and easy to lose.
Most recent visit opted for just a day trip, even if you purchase passes ahead of time they have no one just on pass/check in duty so was in line for a half hour to just pick up our armbands that were already paid for. More of the arcade games are out of order than were working and on days where it's just the inside pools open it almost feels like they should cut the guest limit down just a bit because people were literally on top of each other today in both the hot tub and the pool. It's definitely an experience for the kids and I get that but if they could make it just a little less nerve wracking when guests visit it'd really go a long way.

We've been to Big Splash a few times and I hate to say this was not one of our better trips and all was around the room. Room phone didn't work, (tried to call front desk twice); TV in the children's room didn't work (even after someone came to work on it), they had NO flexibility in checking in, they truly left many families in line waiting until 12pm on the nose. Just not sure we'll return to stay at the hotel. May just make a day trip of it next time.

Hotel rooms are dirty, beds were a little worn! The water park was clean but the Chlorine gases stung the eyes and all the kids that were in the pool was coughing! It was so bad kids were throwing up if they even got a little water in their mouths. Staff was not friendly. The quality of the food for the price is not good. High prices are always expected at a place like this, but quality was poor for the price. The food could have been better.

First time going, and last time going.
My son had a decent time in the park, so can’t complain about that.
Can complain about the service when entering the building.
We entered the building to show our tickets that were purchased ahead of time, and the two boys working were absolutely awful to us. First, one will not help us. Then the second begins throwing his things, and cussing when having to help us.
Very. unprofessional.
When he finally is done and decides he needs to help us, he is very rude the entire time and makes it known he has no interest in helping us get into the park.
Extremely disappointed.

This was our first time here. The staff were awesome, even though it was spring break and really busy. The rooms were actually cleaner than most hotels. The pool area was clean, but of course, the chlorine smell was a little strong, but that's what you would expect from an indoor water park.

I had reserved two of the Pirates Fortress rooms for 3 nights each for a large family trip. When we arrived, one room was not ready, so we waited. Ok, we could deal, I'm pretty understanding. However, we were very underwhelmed by the state of both rooms. One was worse than the other with open food left in the bunk beds from previous visitors, floor not vacuumed, urine on floor around toilets, the family that stayed in room 1211 found maggots coming from the toilet seal in their main bathroom. I spent time cleaning surfaces and even walls as weird drippies were everywhere. I get it, it's a hot spot for kids, but come on. I myself have worked in Hospitality and the cleanliness was on par with a cheap motel. Now, the continental breakfast did have an ok selection and all of the staff were pleasant, but seemed overwhelmed. The new employee at the Dippin Dots was very nice, and was genuinely trying to learn the flavors. He was working hard, cant remember his name, but he had auburn hair. On to the water park... we will never be coming back. They, in plain sight, violated pool chemistry guidelines by pouring chemicals directly into water in multiple areas, less than 5 feet from active swimmers, without closing the pool. The chloramine content was so high that I wish I had brought my testing kit. For myself, I could not be in the Waterpark for more than 45 minutes, as my eyes would swell and burn. Many children had breathing issues, and this was a common topic amongst other families that were visiting. My neice has a skin condition that would never usually be a factor to be concerned about while swimming (her skin is very well cared for), but due to the poor pool chemistry, her psoriasis blistered her from head to toe and she was in agony. Over all, for spending almost $3600 for 3 nights, I would not say it was worth it. The facility itself is ok, but cleanliness and pool chemistry are the key negatives and the pool situation is a major health hazard.
Railway museum, including reenactments, a scenic 20-mile ride on a historic train & periodic events.
This is a very Nice scenic train Ride through Hoosier National Forest and a 22 50 ft tunnel

Visited last September. The inside of the museum is small and mostly has items for sale..the volunteers are very helpful and courteous. We took the scenic train ride and opted for the open train car. The train ride is great but you see mostly trees and rocks except for a waterfall and log cabins a great tunnel and of course the house Larry Byrd grew up in. My wife and I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it.

I have always heard amazing things about the Polar Express in French Lick, and I am all about Christmas magic and creating memories for our two toddlers. With that said, maybe my hopes were set too high for our ride. Everything in our experience was underwhelming. The waiting area/shop, where we were told to spend time for one hour prior to our train ride, was cramped and lacked space for children to spread out and play. The train car's decorations were lackluster. The two "elves" we had in our car were polite young women (definitely no older than high school), but they did not know their choreography and seemed embarrassed to sing the Christmas carols out loud. Santa walked through the car to take one photo per family but did not even say "hello" to our children while he was taking a photo with them. He just handed them a bell, smiled for the photo op, and moved on. The scenery outside of the train ride was mostly the back of houses, abandoned toys in back yards, and a few minutes through the woods (which was quite beautiful with the snow). The scene they had set up to look like the North Pole did look very nice, and our children were so excited! All in all, I believe our kids had fun which is the most important thing to me. However for the price, drive, and hype, I had expected a much more magical experience. We were hoping to find something that we could make an annual family tradition, but this wasn't that.

This was our first time, paid for table seats and we're glad we did! Check-in was super easy. Photo ops in the souvenir shop had staff helping take photos to include everyone! Staff actually offered to take photos for us often on the train which I was super thankful for. The cookies and hot chocolate were very delicious.

We enjoyed the Wild West Hold Up!
We took 6 boys ranging from 2-10 years old.
The train ride was a little long for them, but it was a neat experience! They did very well.
The weather was perfect, but if it had been very hot or rainy it would have made for a long trip. The first class does have air conditioning. I’m not sure about the heating for cold days.
The guns and dynamite had smoke and loud pops which made it really exciting for the kids!
It wasn’t Disney or Branson level acting, but the kids enjoyed it. Teens may find it cheesy?
I really appreciated that they had a moment of silence for the 13 Americans killed in Afghanistan.
There was a snack car available with candy, packaged snacks, pop, and adult beverages.

The scenic train ride in French Lick is a must-have for any train enthusiast! It's easy to get to (just a 5-minute walk from the French Lick Springs Hotel) and easy to find, mostly because the train is parked right next to the main road through town, making it impossible to miss. The train ride itself is very enjoyable, a relatively slow ride through lush forest and beautiful farmland, with an announcer explaining local history. Be warned, don't go if you can't handle the dark - there's a magnificent portion of the ride where you go through a very long tunnel, and there are no lights in the train cars! I've never experienced anything like it before and it was such an awesome experience. The on-site gift shop is also great - gift shops are usually overpriced but you can get a good quality t-shirt for less than $20, and their train-themed trinkets are really quite delightful. I'll definitely ride again the next time I'm in French Lick!

We had agreat time. With snow on the ground and cold weather. The heated train cars made it a comfortable trip that last about 80 minutes. The scenery and the crew made the train ride a lot fun with their singing and dancing and they encourage you to sing along. Pictures with Santa and his elves, makes the children smile ear to ear. I recommend this. Sells out quickly each year.

In a few words, disappointing and overpriced.
For reference, my family took a 1 pm ride on a cold day in mid-March in train car E, one of the Rock Island cars. We paid $74 for all 4 of us, including fees. The train departed on time at 1 pm and we were all done by 2:40 pm.
The ride is 9 miles out, then you reverse and go 9 miles back to the station. The cars were built in the 1920’s and it certainly shows. Peeling paint, rusting steel, tight quarters and most importantly - there is NO air condition and NO heat in the rock island cars. It was 29° the day of our ride and my kids were freezing in their coats and hats.
If riding in the winter, wear a scarf, gloves, and tall socks. My child’s legs were icicles from how cold the floor of the train is.
You will travel through one tunnel 2x, about 3 minutes each time. It does get pitch black for a moment but it’s brief.
The conductor made an attempt to speak on the loudspeaker to share historical facts but it was hard to hear over how rickety the train is and how loud the other passengers are.
Some things I did catch, you will pass the childhood home of basketball star Larry Bird and the place tomato juice was first made. The rest of the ride is advertised as “scenic”….I will let you be the judge but it mostly consisted of: abandoned cars, broken glass, old campers and various abandoned household items scattered about the woods (ie busted toilets and other garbage).
The one redeeming sight was a cute little waterfall, photo attached.
They do have bathrooms and a snack bar, and yes you are allowed to walk from car to car as the train moves. I didn’t expect alcohol to be served and it smelled like beer and the big group seated in our car was a bit rowdy and made it hard to enjoy.
All in all, if you have a child who is obsessed with trains, this may be a cool one time trip.
I would not consider this a date-worthy adventure or scenic by any stretch of the imagination. It gave us something to do and I’m glad we got to experience it. I truly don’t understand the hype. If it were more reasonably priced, for example less than $50 for a family of 4, I would be less disappointed.

A fun experience, great for kids. You did the summertime Dino train. It was about a 45 minute trip out, and a 45 minute trip back. We spent about an hour and a large grassy area with inflatable bouncy houses, a place to dig for fossils, a dinosaur puppet area, some other Dino themed games, and a live animal display.
A great way to spend a day with your young ones, especially if they love trains and dinosaurs!

I’m giving an honest overall rating- here are my pros and cons.
Pro- great way to spend a few hours on a rainy fall afternoon. Sr. Discount. if you like old train rides, looks like an old train inside. see a few interesting local things; Pluto water history, Larry Bird home, train goes through a corn field (novelty for a non mid westerner), cool long dark tunnel! , goes past some old train stock - two smaller steam engines, etc. lots of natural forest type scenery and some bigger rock formations. Snacks/beverages available on board.
Cons- it’s an old train/looks like an old train inside. Scenery is limited- (this was a functional line with both freight and people- was not created as a tourist attraction originally) bathroom is very primitive, but serves the purpose. Train is not heated. Some cars have A/C, windows open only if you ask conductor (again, it’s an old train)
Again, it’s something to do on a rainy day and you are a train buff- I probably wouldn’t ride it again on a future visit, but it was not a horrible experience
Table games, slot machines & live entertainment in a 51,000-sq.-ft. space with a non-smoking area.
I rarely go to any casino, but it was very nice here. Plus I put $5 in the machine and won $65! Not bad for 5 minutes work. We took our winnings and went and enjoyed the shops and Christmas decorations nearby.

This hotel is so rich with history! I literally spent an entire day just reading all of the plaques on the walls and admiring all the artifacts within the hotel. I hesitate to say anything bad about this place because it is definitely amazing but the only downside was not having a microwave or a refrigerator in our room. We were ill prepared for this. The problem was solved by purchasing a small cooler and using the microwave in the common area just down the hall from our room. We will definitely be back.

Casino was very nice, wasn't overly crowded but they didn't have enough tables open for the demand. It's of course mainly slots but they did have virtual blackjack which was fun. Nice and clean atmosphere. Guy next to us won $1,500 on a slot machine and my wife won a little as well. We would go back next time if we were nearby but wouldn't make the trip solely for the casino.

I so wanted to give this place a 5. They were amazing from the decor to service, even the security was top notch (which is rare for a Casino). The show was amazing, the downfall was food. 2 nights there and both nights over an hour wait to get seated at any of the many restaurants.
The food was a little pricey, but that's expected at a 5 star establishment.
I still want to come back. The place is huge and ironic they give you a map at check in. So plan on some walking, but the place is amazing. Just wish they could accommodate better with food.

I'm not much for games of chance, so, professional gamblers may wanna skip ahead. My wife enjoys slots and card games, so I came along for fun.
The casino was comfortable, staff was friendly and, well, just, REAL. We also stayed in the hotel. Class act all around by any and all staffers I encountered over the 3 days. And the overall visual of the entire campus is beautiful, harkening back to very different eras. Don't miss the photo gallery of notable people on 2nd floor.

I remember this place as a kid and it was a wonderful and beautiful church, I also remember how kind and compassionate the people who were there were. I have so many fond memories of Jasper and hope one day I can return. I highly recommend anyone in this area to come see this church, the craftsmanship that erected this structure for worshipping our savior is truly on a level next to none. You will marvel in the beauty, appreciate the craftsmanship. ♥️ Jasper indiana

In the heart of Jasper, Indiana, stands a magnificent testament to faith, history, and community spirit: St. Joseph Church. This church is not just a building; it's a vibrant part of the community's soul, woven into the fabric of countless lives. My personal connection to St. Joseph Church is deeply sentimental, as it was the sacred space where my parents exchanged their vows, beginning a lifelong journey of love and commitment.
The recent restoration of St. Joseph Church has been nothing short of breathtaking. The meticulous care taken to preserve its historical integrity, while seamlessly integrating modern enhancements, is commendable. The restoration work has rejuvenated the church, ensuring that its architectural splendor and spiritual significance continue to inspire and serve the community.
One cannot review St. Joseph Church without acknowledging its excellent leadership. The church leaders have not only been custodians of this historic edifice but also shepherds to a flock seeking spiritual guidance and community connection. Their dedication to both the preservation of the church and the nurturing of its congregation is evident in every aspect of their service.
The interior of the church is a harmonious blend of tradition and elegance. The stained glass windows, a cascade of colors and light, tell stories of faith that resonate with every viewer. The altar, a focal point of reverence and worship, stands majestically, inviting parishioners to moments of reflection and prayer.
St. Joseph Church is more than a landmark; it's a place where generations have found solace, celebrated milestones, and forged a community bond.

Beautiful Catholic Church in the traditional style, complete with high altar, side altars, gorgeous stained glass windows, mosaics and communion rail. Went to mass at Saint Joe’s several times while visiting the area and was disappointed to see that they do not use the communion rail and the Pastor raced thru the prayers of consecration. Apparently there are several priests who serve at this parish and we also attended a mass said by another priest who appeared to be from India and while he was difficult to understand due to his accent, we appreciated his reverence during the mass. This is a beautiful Church and house of God that deserves to be seen and would be happy to attend mass there anytime just because of the heavenly beauty that you are surrounded by.

Great national park to stop at if you're in the area. It's well kept and you can catch everything in under an hour. They have a small gift shop, museum and a theatre where they tell you a great story about the history of George Rogers Clark. I won't spoil it for you. It is good to remember the positive qualities of those who came before us, and reflect on what can be done better. This monument to those who sacrificed in the revolution seems like it could be right in the heart of D.C. You can go inside it, there are some great murals and architecture. Best of all, it's free. Get some history! Compliments to the lawn crew! Looks great.

The rangers working today were friendly, knowledgeable, and very informative. Little chilly and damp but not busy as it's close to Christmas and early in the day. Loved that the wreaths were placed on all the soldiers' graves as well.

Nice park. Give yourself an 1+00 to 1+30 to visit this park. There is a 30-minute film, some displays in the visitor center, some waysides outside, and a monument to visit.

A beautiful place to appreciate history. The rangers are knowledgeable and friendly. Remember to go inside the memorial.

Wonderful little National park with lots of educational displays. The rangers did an INCREDIBLE job setting up and keeping everyone safe today. Thank you!

Beautiful! The rotunda is stunning and tells the history in huge murals. A wonderful view of the river and bridge, too. George Rodgers Clark was William Clark from Lewis and Clark, brother.

The history of this site is incredible. The visitor center is small but informative. They have a theater room with a film that goes into great detail. The memorial a absolutely stunning inside and out. The inside features murals depicting various historical highlights with explanations of each. I was blown away that I had never heard of George Rogers Clark before I explored this site. Highly recommended. Little known fact... Vincennes, Indiana is the home of entertainer Red Skelton.

This is a really impressive monument, rivaling any in Washington DC. It commemorates a great American, and a key turning point in U.S. history (as in why we speak English instead of French).
It is free, open to the public with guided tours, and right next to a beautiful bridge crossing the Wabash River.
If you are anywhere near Vincennes, Indiana, then make it a point to visit this memorial.

Beautiful must see whether a historical buff or not. The monumental size and the interior murals are a treat. The film providing the history in the visitor center is also a must see. Many books, including local, and gifts are available to remember the step back in history. The entire town is full of history.
Holiday World & Splashin' Safari is a seasonal amusement park that provides rides suitable for all age groups. Along with the rides, visitors can also enjoy variety shows and dining venues. The park features several roller coasters including The Voyage, Thunderbird, Raven, and Legend which are highly recommended by coaster enthusiasts. Thunderbird is especially noteworthy as it is considered one of the best wing coasters in the United States with an impressive launch.
If you are a coaster enthusiast I highly recommend heading straight to The Voyage because the line backs up pretty quick. Thunderbird is the real gem of this park. Maybe the best wing coaster in the states? The launch is fantastic. The Raven has some great speed and it’s really cool that it takes you right next to a lake. The Legend was closed but I’m sure it is fantastic. You can tell the park really cares about their rides and keeps the park looking great. The free drinks are a really nice touch.

Hands down the BEST Waterpark. I LOVE the thoughtfulness that is put into thinking of Littles at this park. They have small, medium and large everything, from inner tubes to the water slides, to waves pools! The amusement park is great and just as thoughtful. Love this place so much, bought season passes, and we live over 4 hours away! So, that should say a lot!

Great amusement park and fantastic water park... not overly crowded and lines for rides are normally tolerable. We stay 2 days 1 day on park rides and one day in the water park. We always stay at lake Rudolf and ride the shuttle to and from the park. Great place for young and old alike! Lots of walking and several hills to climb! But worth it!

Kids of all ages love Holiday World. It is clean, safe, and a ton of fun. We go almost every year, but this year, we had fewer grown-ups in our group. With just 2 adults, it was hard to enjoy and please the kids with the height differences resulting in long wait times for both age groups until we split up. The food prices have jumped in the past couple of years so we packed our lunch and dinner. They have a nice picnic area by the car park (we parked in "The Legend" parking lot). We always buy tickets in advance for the discount. Happy Halloween Weekends is a fun and festive time to visit, but the water park is closed. They do offer free drinks and sunscreen. Take your debit/credit card because they have a no cash policy. And wear your walking shoes!!!

What an awesome amusement park, I can't wait to come back. The rides are high quality and the staff are top notch. Do not pass up a trip here, you won't regret it. I was here two days, and the first day The Voyage was closed all day but they got it open the second day which was awesome because so many other parks would just wait and fix it later but HW got it fixed overnight. What a fantastic experience that I can't recommend enough.
Graham Stiver — Google review
I might make mention of the admission cost... tickets were $62 ea. I have 4 children and 2 adults who attended. We got there in the mid afternoon and we're quite surprised by the fact that several rides were down due to "mechanical" or "Nature" reasons. The Thunderbird was closed. The Raven had a deer in the woods close to the tracks so it was temp closed. And when it reopened the line was so long that they quit taking passengers bc it was an hour before the park closed. The Bucameer closed due to a lap restraint issue. Getting to each ride is a brutal walk constantly going up and down steep hills on uneven walkways which are constantly bottlenecked. And one of the wave pools was closed for an unknown reason. The only other wave pool was super crowded and it felt like you were constantly bumping into someone and saying excuse me. Then when the waves did start it was impossible to enjoy it bc it was so crowded. The closings made all other venues extra long lines. At one point it was an hour and a half wait to get on the Legend and 45 min wait to get on water rides that held multiple (up to 6) people at once. It was ridiculous. I paid over $400 to take my family there for the day and was highly disappointed in the rides and availability of such. And the food, oh my Lord! It was $9 for an ice cream cone! A pizza to feed 4 was $39.99 +tx. One pizza! I know it's a tourist spot but c'mon people $40 for a pizza!?! (That only has 8 slices btw. Same size you would get from dominos but with only one topping. Extra toppings were $5.99 ea!!!) Very dissatisfied with the quality/value of food choices there. There was one saving grace for the entire trip, and that was the drone show. It began after the park closed and lasted about 15 minutes. I posted a short clip of it just enough to get the idea without spoiling the show for those who will visit from now to the end of July. It was totally the best part of the visit we had. I will say that all the park employees were very kind and helpful. The service was on par with just about any low to mid priced attraction. My children, of which we have 4 ,ranging in ages from 7 to 14, said it was the worst attraction we have been to. They were totally disappointed in everything, which in turn is reflected in my review here. As mentioned the only saving grace was the friendly staff and the drone show after the park closed. Worst venue to date. And all on a Monday.

We always have so much fun when we visit here. We are close to Six Flags in our area and even with the 3.5 hour drive we still spend less visiting Holiday World. We usually leave early enough to get there when they first open and stay all day before booking a room at one of the local hotels. The park is nice and spacious. The wait times for the rides are reasonable. Food and drink prices are lower in comparison to a lot of other places. I would say if you are looking for a fun, affordable, family trip Holiday World is the way to go.

We love Holiday World! Our family has been going there around 43 years!!! Used to be called Santa Claus. It has grown so much over the years. But it is still a family oriented, clean park. I like the fact that they do not serve alcohol...so you can go have fun without dealing with drunk people. You don't see rowdy behavior either. I think the admission price is reasonable and parking is FREE!

This park is totally awesome for spending the day. It doesn’t have too many roller coasters (only five) but they are absolutely great (The Voyage is simply too good to describe it here). Besides, the water park is absolutely amazing, with tones of first class water coasters that will give you A LOT of fun. When I went, during the summer, parking was free and (yes) soda was free too, with several drinking stations across the whole park for you to go and simply grab what you want.

It’s a really awesome place. The roller coasters are amazing, as well as the water slides. I would really recognize coming here even if you’re afraid of riding roller coaster, as I was one of those people before coming to Holiday World. I wasn’t when I left, though.

What a gem! This is my family’s second time coming. The park is always so clean, and the staff are so helpful. We love the free beverage stations, my kids make sure to swing by the oasis every chance they get. The water park is so fun with lots to do for all ages. The dry parks are so fun too. Pro tip, don’t try doing it all in one day, come one day and buy a discounted pass for the following at the gate when you leave. The entire park is so picturesque. We will 100% be coming back!

We had a group of 8 people and had an absolute blast! They had all their Halloween stuff happening so we did the hay ride, corn maze and drone show (which was really cool). We will definitely be back!

Great family oriented amusement park. As advertised, free parking, sunscreen, and soft drinks. Several areas for the younger guests to ride and play. The water park is large with many different slides, splash zones, and wave pools. There are wooden coasters for those who enjoy that type of ride. They also have a well versed genre of food courts to choose from including a Thanksgiving style meal. We were there on a Sunday the last week of July and the longest wait time was a little over 10 minutes.

This was my daughter and my first time here, and we had a blast. Age 4 is the limit for free entry, so be prepared for being your little one a ticket.
Must wear shoes, shirts, and shorts for entry into the theme park, which is where you enter the park, and the splashing safari part doesn't open till 11. I will post a picture of what I wore into the park day 2, and I had no issues. The only issue I had was the very last ride of they day when I was hooked into the wooden Rollercoaster in the Thanksgiving holiday part. She told me she would let me ride this time but next time I needed a shirt, but I had no issues entering the park from start and leaving the water park to go to the dry amusement part portion.
All together we had a wonderful time and will be coming back again.

A very fun place to go. You will need 2 days to do everything in both parks.
The 1 picture is the swings in Halloween land. The first one is Turkey whirl in Thanksgiving land. They are building more. Will have a Boomerang ride next year.

Our family had an AMAZING time! The rides were great, the variety of water slides are crazy! The park caters to all ages which is awesome, we have infant to 17 age range. There is something for everyone! Also the power went out in part of the park an hour before close and the park has offered another full day for each of us for free! The parking was hassle free, there are signs all throughout the park so it's easy to find things, there are bathrooms everywhere and drinks stations at every corner. Not to mention the park is so clean, there are staff everywhere to assist and very friendly. I'd give 10 stars if I could!

Went back in the beginning of July. We spent part of the day in the Waterpark before it rained. Holiday World has a policy if their rides are down for a certain time and reason, they will honor that days ticket for a future visit. We made our return trip on a weekend in mid August. (School is back in session so the park has weekend only operation at that time.) The park is beautifully maintained. Free parking (including spaces for EV), free sunscreen stations, free beverage stations. A small selection of awesome Rollercoasters and and even better Waterpark. Excited to return 2024 for the new coaster addition!

Been quite a few years since I've visited... Won't be that long again. Had a great time with the roller-coasters, Splashin' Safari and everything in between. Atmosphere was great and cleanliness was top notch. Highly recommend! Those roller-coasters are intense and no joke! Loved it!
The Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is a historic site that showcases Abraham Lincoln's childhood through live demonstrations on a farm designed to replicate the 1820s. The grounds are beautiful and include a well-maintained memorial/visitor center. It's an ideal location for those who enjoy history and want to experience the beauty of the countryside. While there, visitors can view President Lincoln's mother's burial place on a hilltop overlooking stunning scenery.
Wonderful historical place to visit and learn more about President Lincoln. Between different activities and events and self-guided tours, it's an experience.

This was an unexpected find 18 minutes out of my way and so worth it. There is a small informative museum, kid friendly park rangers and a short hike. I like that Abraham Lincolns mother is honored here because I think that would have meant a lot to him. It is nice just being where he grew up.

We stopped in here today this was an amazing park.
Of Abraham Lincoln’s boyhood home.
This is where he got a lot of training to become the leader he was.
The movie was amazing to watch the Rangers were friendly and helpful park was clean and well taken care of

Very serene place. Nice walking trails. The 12 stone trail has lots of benches for resting along the way, the boyhood trail does not. There is a big downhill portion at the start of trails but it loops and the return isn't as steep. There are vault toilets along the trail in two places. Took my kids and they enjoyed it, one for outdoors and trails, the other to learn more. Was not overly crowded on Sunday afternoon in early spring.

Wonderful visitors center. So informative, there were so many things I didn't know about President Lincoln. There was lots of information about his childhood, pictures, and a movie. Nice shaded walking path. The reproduction of his second home was nice stop. There were sheep, horses, and chickens on sight as well as a nice vegetable garden. It really gave the feeling of stepping back into time. Again, it's a nice shaded area. It's very near an active train track, just keep in mind if you have small children. The visitors center has several very clean restrooms available, it's a short hike to from Lincolns homestead to the visitors center. You can drive to both locations plenty of parking at both sights.

Wonderful National Park to visit to learn more about the early life of Lincoln. Make sure you do the trails and visitor center. After, make a short trip to the state park or Santa Clause, Indiana.
Mike Abrams — Google review
Check the hours and your time zone. It was closed while we were there from noon - 1 pm. We were on our road trip so we pulled out the cooler for a make shift lunch on the grounds. Also depending on how far west/east you are of 231 ... time changes.
It was a great stop as we watched the short film and checked out the visitor center. My kids completed the Junior Ranger program and earned their badge. Grabbed our Passport books for stamps. We did the short walk to Pioneer Cemetery and then a short hike out to the living farm. While there, we got some great information about living there back during that time period. Saw various animals and were given some lettuce from the staff to feed Jack and Sophie (the horses) on the hike back.
Aside from the heat and humidity, it was definitely worth the stop. And considering the proximity to Santa Claus, IN ... you can't go wrong. In total, I'd say we were there 3 hours? Enjoy!
Jonathan Smith — Google review
This was the best of all the Lincoln stops between Indiana and Kentucky. The visitor center had an array of Lincoln paintings and statues as well as a church sanctuary that I believe his father built. The memorial itself was spread out with some easy hikes taking you between the different spots. Most of the trails were shaded which will help with the Summer heat. Dog friendly.

Lovely building & grounds that are kept impeccably! Nice, short hike along Twelve Stones to the working farm that was just getting g prepped for the season when we were there. Add the Boyhood Nature Walk for another mile in the woods with placards describing the flora.

Glad we had some extra time to stop at the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. We sat and watched a video inside about Lincoln’s life and I found it enjoyable and educational. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area! Had some people there in the cabins you can talk to to learn more about Lincoln’s life.

Beautiful grounds, and a nice memorial/visitor center. This is a nice quick visit kind of place. You won’t need to spend all day here to get the full experience. They have a living farm replica, which wasn’t operational while we were visiting, because it was winter. It was neat to see the burial place of President Lincoln’s mother, on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful scenery. A must see for anyone who enjoys the history of our beautiful country!!

Very nice place. Great memorial building, nice trails and historic buildings. A place and history that Southern Indiana should be proud of.
Wonderful! Everything is in pristine "classic" condition. $5 for 13 & up. Free for 12 & under. It's a must see! They are about to downsize & some things are for sale. Thank you to Mr. Bennett for preserving & sharing some of our history.

Nice place to visit. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful when you could get a hold of one of them. They are in the middle of downsizing and seemed just a little more interested in selling than anything else. All the exotic cars were already sold so they could downsize to one building. A little overpriced for what they have now. Good thing is, children under 12 are free.

Love taking my kids. They love looking at real "super cars", I love looking at the "muscle cars". Besides displaying sweet rides they have some memorabilia from several eras that was a great addition to get to see. Top it all off, my kids had a blast, as did I. For free. Donations are welcomed, but not mandatory, but I happily donated a few dollars. As should everyone if your able. My personal opinion of course. Enjoy

Friendly museum staff, reasonable admittance price, and a lot of cool cars and memorabilia to check out. There were a number of cars and motorcycles from the movies which was really cool, including a car Dom crashes in the fast and furious movie. The museum is downsizing so a few of the items are for sale. There were a lot of mannequins which I found a bit disconcerting.

Dom's 68 Charger from The Fast and the Furious to me was the highlight of my trip to the Dream Car Museum. Loved every square inch of the place!! The General Lee is there as well. Too many cool movie cars and bikes to mention. Do yourself a favor and head to Evansville.

The Mesker Park Zoo, spanning across 45 acres, is home to over 700 animals from various species showcased in themed exhibits. Visitors can get up close and personal with the animals, including feeding the giraffes. The zoo also features an indoor carousel for visitors to enjoy during the winter months. Although smaller than expected, there are unique animals not typically found at other zoos such as otters.
Stopped here on our way home to stretch the kids legs for 45 minutes before jumping back into the car... wow! way bigger than we expected! Spent 3 hours unexpectedly. Lots of cool animals that aren't at our home zoo in Milwaukee. The otter tunnel was our favorite part, followed by INDOOR carousel (because winter).
Rachel Frank — Google review
We had a very fun-filled day at Mesker Park Zoo! The kids really enjoyed the feeding experiences (penguin and giraffe) and the carousel! There were also a few fun areas set up to take fall photos. I wish all the animals had been available to view though. Many were inside even though it wasn't a cold day.

So much more than we expected & the perfect end to our trip. The Amazon exhibit was a magical break from the chill, catching it on Orchid Escape preview weekend only added to the beauty. Everyone we met was so helpful & informative, including the tram operator who made an extra effort to find us and give us a lift.
Be warned… some of the paths are quite steep, I’d encourage anyone with mobility challenges to plan on taking the tram from the start.

We love this zoo! They have a large selection of animals you don't usually see. Plus, it's a great place to get your steps in. There's a small park/play area. All the extra stuff was closed, but we went on a weekday during winter break.

This is a great zoo for a small city. It is so shady with many mature trees and plants. Not every exhibit will always have an animal present but that is just zoo life and things happen and animals need care. It is so clean and the staff are all great. They are very professional and knowledgable. Evansville is so lucky to have this gem. Love the penguin exhibit.

Fantastic experience for my kids. They were able to feed penguins and giraffes, which is something they had never experienced in other zoo's. The staff was awesome. The animal handlers were awesome in explaining what the kids needed to do. So a wonderful place to go.

SO MUCH FUN! Going about an hour after they opened allowed us to take our time when we first went in and we could explore each area in depth and not rush. I loved all of the exhibits and seeing all of the animals, we're already planning another trip for when it feels warmer out! 10/10

Good zoo, your able to get close to the animals and feed the giraffes. It is a bit small, we took the tram ride around a few times until my 2yr old got bored. And they don't have very many animals. Bird flu has some it closed so I will have to return to see the rest.
Terry H — Google review
The animals are sick of everyone at this point. Not many were active and some be groomed. The walking paths are blocked for trolly. The trolly wait is very long. But the lack of entertainment you receive from the animals it's best to do the trolly tour. The cost us affordable and membership for $5 for adult n child with ebt. Unsure about any other amount or family size.

Kids love this zoo no matter how many times we go. Penguins are cool and the cooler the weather the more active the animals are. From interaction with birds and seeing the rhinos and red pandas. You do have to go up and down hills though but if you have a few hours to kill or your kids love animals all in all it's a fun time I do however recommend season passes get free tram rides and discounts at the stores plus go a few times and it pays for itself.

We enjoyed our time at the zoo ànd would definitely recommend it to people if they are in the area. I would suggest comfortable shoes because there are many rather large hills to navigate. I would also encourage bringing some snacks. Only food location at the entrance. I didn't give the zoo a 5 star rating because I felt as a botanical garden there were many area that the plants needed some attention and the grounds needed to be cleaned up.

First time ever coming to this Zoo and I had a blast. There wasn’t a wait. It was $22 for two people. Many of the animals weren’t there for the season, I visited more at the end of Winter and the animals will be there in the Spring. Can’t wait to come back to see the rest of the animals. We even got to feed the giraffe lettuce.
Jasmine Robinson (Simply_Evory) — Google review
Been going here for decades and unfortunately it’s going downhill. At least a quarter of the exhibits are closed and a lot of the big main attractions (elephant, tiger, lion, hippo, rhino) are closed, some of them for years now. The canopy play area is closed. What used to be a petting zoo filled with the goats is now an enclosure. Many exhibits that used to have several animals now only have one or two. No more bumper boats, no more paddle boats. The glass in several enclosures is so dirty it’s hard to see the exhibit. The zoo used to feel so energetic annd alive, but lately it just feels tired and worn down. I hope this is just a stage and things will be improve soon.
All of that said, the newer playground is fun, the penguin exhibit is cute, and the otters are always a joy. The admission is cheap enough that I didn’t feel like our visit was a waste of money.

The zoo was great and clean. Looking forward to going again during the summer when hopefully more of the animals are back from their winter break.
Marissa Hall — Google review
It's a small zoo, but the exhibits were well-managed. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. The guests were really cool, as well -- most of us were there for the eclipse, and we all were good with the waits resulting from all of us being there.
They ran a tight ship in the kitchen, also. Service was slow, but they had an additional 3 or 400 people in the zoo above normal. The food was excellent.
William Wagers — Google review
It's a really cute small zoo. Took around 2 hours and got through the entire zoo.
I don't like how you can only get mobile maps. It's hard to see them on your phone in the sun, and the kids love to help navigate. Maybe having paper ones upon request and maybe laminated to save from having to make new so often. I know mobile is the way to go, but not everything needs to be.
Three kids enjoyed the zoo, as did my husband and I. It broke up our trip home from Louisville, KY. It is off the path with some country roads, but overall, it's a great stop.
We are members of the St. Louis Zoo, so we were able to get into this zoo for free. Parking is also free.
The only place to get food is at the entry point. There are coke machines here and there around.
We stopped to eat on the way out. It was okay. Nothing great. Do not recommend the salad for the price. The Hot Ham & Cheese was okay, and my son enjoyed his pizza. The fries came out hot, and I thought they were good. Prices were a bit higher than normal prices at the zoos we frequently go to.
The gift shop prices were really reasonable. It is a small shop.
There are extras you can do. You must buy tokens. $5 =5 tokens. Their website is easy to navigate, and if you email with questions, they seem to get back quickly.

Bally's Evansville is a comfortable casino hotel with scenic river views and complimentary valet parking. The premises are kept immaculately clean, with an enjoyable atmosphere enhanced by lively music. Gamblers can take their pick from many slot machines and card games, including poker, blackjack and roulette - both electronic and live dealer versions. Beverage prices may be high for alcoholic drinks, but soft drinks and coffee are free of charge.
Had a nice view from our hotel room. It was nice that you didn't have to leave the building to go from hotel to casino. Very friendly staff. If you sign up for the point card system you get some really nice and useful perks. Clean and quiet rooms. Overall one of my favorite casino experiences.

Stayed in September and the hotel is nice. The only problem is checkout was at 11:00 am. Someone who didn’t identify themselves as housekeeping knocked on the door at 6:00am. Told whoever was at the door someone was in room. Was using key to enter room. Told again someone was in the room. Went to call the front desk but the phone was missing (stolen). Had to use are own phone to call the front desk. Security notified and front desk. This person knocked on every door on that hallway. Didn’t feel safe at that time. Need to tell housekeeping if it’s them go over checkout times policy. It was rude being woke up at 6 am and did not give you a safe vibe either when they tired to enter room. They opened the door until we hollered again in room then closed it quickly. The only issue I had with check in they took cash for the room but the $50 deposit they wanted a credit card. I don’t think it’s right if you offer to pay in cash. They should give you a choice and accept cash. Shouldn’t make any difference. Have to think hard about going back.

There’s not much direction / organization at this hotel. We had to drive around the block twice, to try to find the main lobby entrance, and then asked some other hotel guests, who were able to direct us. One of the elevators was out of order, but not marked as so. With the restrooms inside the casino, the faucet water was Scaling hot, and there were no scald guard p-trap covers, on the p-traps under the sink. I work in the plumbing industry, and a big requirement, according to the ADA , is to have temp regulated faucets, and p-trap guards. This is so that anyone in a wheelchair, that happens to be wearing shorts or have exposed skin, won’t burn their legs or knees, when the hot water is running, and also won’t burn their hands. That water was almost boiling hot. We did like the fact that they had a free soft drink machine. The Tap House was a good place to eat. We’re used to having a safe, refrigerator, and microwave in our rooms when we stay at other hotels. We didn’t have these items in our room.

This is about the casino, I didn't stay in the hotel: It's bright and fun. Plenty to do, lots of space to move around. Free coffee and sodas. Staff is kinda rude, but I imagine they're as stressed as the rest of us so it's understandable. No one really around to ask a question other than security, but at least you can feel safe. It's easy to get in and out of the parking lot. Several food choices.

My wife and I stayed overnight in a smoking room, only because that’s what was available. My issue is not the smoking room, but rather how unclean it was. The carpet was filthy with dirt and food crumbs. There was a dried up pizza crust under our bed. And the sheets on both beds felt sticky. It was apparent that the smoking floor doesn’t get much attention from housekeeping.
However, we didn’t let that ruin our stay. The casino floor itself was enjoyable. A wide variety of machines to play from classics to new. All the machines were fairly clean and in working order. The staff we interacted with were awesome, especially at the bar.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. But the state of the room we had really knocked this review down a few pegs.

I read a lot of reviews about this, but... My room was spotless clean! Surprisingly peaceful and quiet given the casino is a stone's throw away.

Came to the area for a family member in the hospital. Looked for close place just to stay one night and sleep. Online the price said $86 a night. We finally found a parking spot in the parking garage, get our bags out and walk to the front desk only for him to say it was almost DOUBLE that and a $50 dollar hold for accidentals. I explained to him our situation about being in the hospital all day and only needing a place to sleep for 6 hours until we had to be back. So it wasn't worth us paying $180 a night. It was also a smoking room he said and we surely were not going to take that. When I asked about a non smoking room he said we are sold out. We asked about any other hotels around and he said he couldn't help us with that. So we had to walk all the way back through the complex, put our bags up and drive to get another hotel. Luckily we got a nice hotel for $75 just 15 mins away. Also this resort smells like smoke just walking inside it so beware if that bothers you. Was really hoping for a better experience.

We came for a mini girls trip for my birthday. We had a wonderful time! Top notch restaurants are only open Thursday- Sunday, but The Tap House food is great too. Pepsi products only are served. People were amazing, room was great and comped, and we left winners!! Definitely plan to come back!!

You can loss lost of money in the added on casino. Don't see to many big winners lost of company friendly need more help to get drinks on the floor. I have won though but no more than 180 has been the most dust far. They do take faster than they give just have to pay to win and have extra to lose. Trust you're self not get the fever

Avoid this hotel like the plague. Ready for renovation or demolish. Our room toilet overflow on first night, wallpaper pealing. Rug in room stained, my white socks are no longer white. Forget housekeeping, there for 5 nights for event. Smoking in non smoking room evident. AND they have the audacity to charge a resort fee because of the casino I guess. No restaurant open I guess the tap room at casino. Advertised 3 restaurants therein anis A joke. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this joint for my dog.

First of all, if you've never been here its a bit tricky to figure out how to check Into your room. There was absolutely no staff at our hotel and no one answered the phone. There is no breakfast offered or pool or stuff like that. The room was huge, clean, smelled fine and quiet. Plenty of waters left in the room for us to drink. It's tricky at first to use your key card for everything... doors, elevator, parking... of which was crazy. Real accessible to the casino. Casino was fine...
The 1 restaurant there is way way expensive! So you better bring the cash if ya wanna eat. It wasn't super smoky or smell bad and we didn't see any bad people persay. Pretty laid back and people stay to themselves. Its mostly all slots. We won 50 bucks by end of an hour.
I'd stay again

I recently stayed at this hotel. We had a 2 queen smoking room and it was not the best of stays. The bathroom, is ok, but if you look up at the sprinkler system, it is rusted. Other wise the bathroom wasn't the worst I have seen. The room itself looked as if it had been cleaned in a hurry and things were missed. The wall next to the window had months of dust on it. The floor had black marks on it and did not look as if it had been vacuumed. The best were not very comfortable and the pillows are very hard. It was a rough night's sleep. Now, having to spend extra for a smoking room, you would think they would be as nice as other rooms and cleaned as well. If this is what you get with a smoking room, I can just imagine that the non-smoking rooms are not any better. The hotel definitely needs to be renovated as it seems very old and not well taken care of.
The casino itself was well maintained and seemed clean. The bathrooms were nice and routinely cleaned and the choice of places to eat is good. We ate at The Tap Room and was very happy with the food and wait staff. The selections were delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful.

I'm not sure if my expectations were unrealistic, but I thought that a hotel room at Big Name Casino (Bally's Casino) would be better.
No complaints about the cleanliness, that was fine, although I did not "inspect" the room.
It was the size, the room had two queen beds, that's how we like it, one for me, one for my wife. There was a very small TV on a table, and one chair.
No microwave, no fridge.
There was a gap between the beds, maybe 3.5'. The clearance between "my" bed and the wall, 1.5' and between the other bed and wall, maybe 4'. It made the room very claustrophobic.
The bathroom, though lit well enough, felt cramped. The sink water pressure was OK, but you really had to adjust it so it wouldn't splash on your clothes.
The shower head was so calcified that the water went where it wanted and adjusting the temp, it was either warm or cold, so taking a shower was an adventure.
We live 25 miles from the hotel and only got the room for one night because we both wanted to have drinks and not drive. Honestly, had I known what the room would be like, I would have not drank and just went home after the company party.
$135.00 (approximately)
The view of the river was decent, however; sound proofing the windows would be awesome. We could hear people on the street talking from our third floor room. Also, the number of idiots who enjoy revving their motors was astonishing.
I've stayed in Motel 6's with better rooms.
Just an FYI, if you plan on visiting Evansville, IN. for the sole purpose of going to the Casino, budget accordingly. I later found out that there are "better" rooms available, but they are more costly.
Also, unless you're chauffeured to the Casino, plan on driving around and around the parking garage to find a place to park. During our visit, the first 2 or 3 levels were under some sort of construction, so the other levels were absolutely packed.
Suggestion: Find a nearby hotel, get a taxi or Uber to take to and from the Casino.

When I first arrived to hotel, I had to go through the casino. I got a little lost as front desk directions were poor.. I couldn't figure out what was going in with my room key and there was NO HELP anywhere. Also, I've been waiting on room deposit refuns for over a month now.
The room itself was okay ish but nothing to write home about and the casino was terrible.

If you don't mind the smell of cigarette smoke you'll be fine. Every square inch of carpet appeared dirty and not cleaned in years. We even got a non smoking room and it still smelled bad. No fridge in the room. Blood splatters on the curtain and wall behind the couch. We were there for a company party and most of the staff was nice but there was a few that had some serious grouchy attitudes. Our room was quoted to be $189 when booking. They didn't take down and email or anything and had me 2nd guessing if I even booked the room by the time our visit was going to happen. But our $189 room came to almost $250 due to high as hell taxes and fees that we were not made aware of. We could've stay at another high end hotel for way less money. Have zero desire to ever stay here again.
Also the staff will announce what floor and room you are in when they hand you your key. We knew everyone's room that was waiting in line when checking in. Thankfully it was all the company people and we knew all of each other

I went there when it was called "The Tropicana Casino" back in early 2019. It was close or in downtown Evansville, Indiana and was kind of hard to find the parking place there. It maybe easier now, not sure because I have not been by that area since 2019 because I live further away from Evansville, Indiana at this time. It's pretty much mostly or totally all slot machines....well it was when I visited them in 2019. I broke pretty much even with my winnings. It was a decent way to spend a pleasant evening there and not too many people were there when I visited them in 2019. Overall, not bad and since they are under newer ownership since I last visited the place, I cannot say anything because I have not been there for 4 years now. Plenty of parking nearby and decent selection of slot machines. They have a hotel nearby too, part of the casino too back then, but I did not spend the night there, so I cannot rate the rooms at their hotel. Overall, 3 stars I'd rate this casino.

I love going here, it's always clean. The music is great and who doesn't love gambling? Lots of options for slots players and live dealers for poker, black jack,. I love roulette no matter if it's electronic or live dealer. Alcohol drinks are a little pricey but sodas and coffee are free. The buffet on the hotel side is amazing. Definitely a great stop. It's also the only thing open 24hrs in Evansville since the Covid outbreak

I booked a room here in advance because my organization is using their venue for a fundraiser. No problems getting my room booked and received my confirmation. Somehow my corporate credit card got declined when they ran my card on the first day of my stay. Instead or calling, texting, emailing or doing literally anything to let you know that your card got declined, Bally’s just canceled my whole reservation. I am standing at the front desk trying to check in legitimately 50 minutes after Bally’s says my reservation was canceled and somehow my room is no longer available so I to pay more to stay in a smoking room because that’s “all that is available.” Absolutely zero customer service.

Went to the deli cafe area in front and the staff was rude, went to restroom and came back and saw the order sitting on the oven. I tried to get the lady's attention to tell her I had returned but it was as if she was ignoring me. Then later that night at the restaurant in the back, we were seated at a table and it was nearly 30 minutes before anyone even spoke to us.

My best friend and I reunited after some pretty traumatic relationships.. We called and booked rooms for 2 nights. We did not anticipate the rain. When we arrived they had canceled our whole reservation and now it is sold out! The front desk was annoyed by us being here saying it will mess up their audit on their paperwork so she has to go back through and change the fact that we actually showed up. She would not even attempt to look or make the situation any better I even offered to pay for a suite. The room we have until 11:00 I believe that's 4 hours has no duvet on the beds or comforter the beds have no fitted sheets does not have any sort of mini fridge or a safe to put things in it is 1980s at best and the view is of the roof gravel. I'm thinking about jumping out!! We just wanted a nice girls weekend to get away. I would have felt better if she would have at least offered some meal tickets or looked at me and told me to go screw myself oh well as she said be out by 11:00 and we didn't get here until about 4:00 we did try but traveling from Tennessee in the rain took a little longer than we expected. My friend had bragged on this place and was excited to show me around her new hometown. It was heartbreaking to see her disappointment. I hate to go home today but it doesn't seem I have a choice.

We stayed 2 nights with our comps. This is advertised as luxurious hotel. 🙄 we were told all they had available was smoking but they would put a machine in to take smell out. They never showed up. After about 7 the homeless sit everywhere inside. They never asked for anything but they were smoking pot and the hall reeked of it. We saw bugs and holes in the bathroom. They did nothing. Pillows were like rocks in a case. Carpets throughout the bldg were filthy beyond words. Casino was nice. Should have slept in there. Thank got it was a free room. But had to pay 19.99 a night resort fees. This is a piss poor excuse of a resort. No not stay here.

Amazing and accommodating stay, David (there’s 2) was extremely helpful and hospitable. We stayed for 4 days 3 nights and didn’t want to leave. The room, bed, floors, shower, sink, tub, desk, chairs and everything else in the room was clean CLEAN! Believe me, me and mine are the type to bring Clorox and bleach to hotels to do our own deep cleaning 😂 we didn’t have to do that here. We won 3x our bet money at the casino, walked around the local neighborhood that surrounds Evansville, saw some great scenery and ate some good food. It was a nice little baecation for us, we will be back.

This place is poorly taken care of. For a very profitable establishment there carpet and different things through out the casino need fixed or replaced. The carpet again tho is gross. Everything here is geared to make you gamble. The rooms have not microwave or mini fridge. So your forced to go down by the casino to eat or get a drink. Also they want you to tip them at the deli in the casino before you even get your food or drink. A tip is only give if one is happy with the service. So I gave none. No frozen drink in the casino. And a very lacking choice of beers. The hotel has no breakfast and the elevator is broken.

I know we'll to not go to any casino and expect big things it could happen but don't set expectations. That being said I won nothing of anything with size but more shocking to me was I didn't see anyone win anything which is unusual I've been to casinos in 6 states and this is the only one I've not seen someone win a decent prizes while I was there.
Then you get mail solicitations claiming you could win 500.1000.or 20000 and do not scratch only do so on property with no intention of going on the claim dates I did scratch for a lousy 5 dollars. Really a scratch of from the gas station would have been way better odds for a real prize in my experience with this place. And a few more mention it's condition and it is mediocre for land casino.

The casino was fine but the hotel needs a deep cleaning. The carpets in the halls and the room are nasty. I didn't feel comfortable enough to walk on the carpet without socks. The TV is tiny. The window was so dirty it was a filthy view of the river. The curtains had holes in them. The beds and pillows were so hard I felt like I had been camping and slept on the ground. We had a huge spider in the bed. And last but not least, there was a previous guest's hair all over the bathroom. I will never stay at the hotel again.

Stayed here for a wedding. Our rooms sink broke and we had to wait for it to get fixed before leaving for the Casino. The service was great and they sent someone up right away, but we couldn't switch rooms because they were fully booked.
The casino was really smokey, so not a fan of that. Ended up leaving pretty quick.

Upon entering the hotel front entrance- we were hit with a horrid odor. Smelled like funk and sewer water. Note: this smell was only in that area. It did go away.
Our non smoking room had a nice view of river. Room was nice, one comfortable king bed. Full length mirror. No closet in our room. First time staying in a hotel with no closet. No fridge. There was a ice machine down the hallway. We were only there for two nights.

Go to New Harmony at all costs... if you like strange airy places lost in the middle of nowhere in another time. I was there in May, 2015 with the zillions of cicadas doing their noisy noise ;-) In between the Roofless church, Richard Meier's all-white Atheneun museum, the abandoned bridge, the library full of paraphaernalia, Robert Owens' small settlers houses, the quaint main street and some more structures right out of a Hopper painting, that's a cool place they should use for movies (maybe a Stephen King). Quite magic!

Beautiful artwork. Enjoyed this hidden gem hidden in Mt Vernon Illinois. The main gallery costs $5, but it is well worth the admission price. They also have a book of their collection available for $25. I purchased one and am enjoying the enriching additional information. They also have a walking path you can take to see many beautiful sculptures on your tour through the grounds with additional exhibits located in other buildings. Due to time constraints and my sister being in a wheelchair, we were limited to how much we could explore, but still enjoyed much they had to offer and enjoyed talking with museum staff about the history of the museum and their collection. I would highly recommend this activity for anyone who likes nature and art in general.

We attended the watch party for the 2024 eclipse at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts, and it was an amazing experience! We drove from out of state and were so impressed by their beautiful grounds and helpful staff/volunteers. We were expecting big crowds, and even though we heard that they had sold 1500 tickets, since they have so much beautiful outdoor space, we had a very peaceful experience with very few people near us. Although we didn't get to spend much time enjoying their facility (since we were focused on the eclipse), their indoor space was also very nice, and amazingly enough, I didn't even have to wait to use their restrooms, which were clean and very nice. We enjoyed some of the outdoor sculptures and would love to visit again if we are ever back in the area. We are just so grateful to Cedarhurst for hosting such a great event!

I always enjoy visiting Cedarhurst! I did not enter the museum today as I wanted to explore outside instead. I noticed recent updates to the grounds on this visit. The nature trails are no longer plain dirt, gravel has been added to the paths and other improvements such as labeled path markers. They’ve definitely stepped up their outdoor game. The lovely pond is pretty anytime of year, but it’s especially nice in the warmer weather when the fountain is flowing.

One of the best hikes I have ever done!! I highly recommend going in the winter, we only ran into 2 other people the whole time! It was very relaxing and much needed break from daily life. It started to snow while we were at the top as well made for cool pictures & memories. This is the start of a new winter tradition! I’ve been here 3 times in life. Once when I was 18, again at age 24 and the last time, when these pics were taken, I was 45 years old. I grew up in central Illinois and Garden of the gods was a 4 hour drive. I eventually moved away and my last visit was after I went back home and buried my mother. I had to stop here on the way back. My would needed it. A perfect late May Day in 2020. It was deserted and overcast, which fit my mood perfectly.
It brought me peace for a couple of hours. The beauty, the viewing of what Mother Nature and time are capable of.
This really is a special place. It’s absolutely gorgeous. I’ve been to table rock and camel back rock but this time u just needed to walk the trail.

I came here in June to escape the heat in the urban areas. It is a very beautiful and geological interesting spot in the woods with a nice view and some challenging hiking/climbing possibilities.
.It is an easy hike which can be done in less than 30 minutes. But you will be there for much longer, because you will enjoy the amazing view and the interesting rock formations.
It is a quite long drive to this area, but you will find a couple dozen parking spots, most of them also in the shade.
From there it is a small hike uphill and you are already at the cliffs. Some paths between the stones are very narrow, so a little bit of "climbing" is necessary.
What I do recommend, is to wear proper shoes. If you want to really climb the rocks, please do not do this in Crocs or sandals, like some people I encounterd, did. This is just irresponsible. The rocks are very smooth and you need grip on them.
While climbing on the rocks, you have to be careful, because there are some larger gaps and if you make a wrong step, you can fall off them. The danger is real, but worth the view - IF you are physically fit.
All in all, a very stunning area in the woods to visit.

Beautiful location with amazing views, even better in the fall because the trees are mostly bare. The trail is relatively easy with a few inclines but there are also stairs in places to make it easier to walk through. There was a few places where some morons thought it was OK to damage the trees by carving initials into them and stripping bark. It's a great place to visit.

We only hiked the Camel Rock observation path. One of the people I was with is wheelchair bound. While most people would be able to navigate this accessible trail, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who is in a wheelchair. I will say we were all in agreement that it was absolutely worth the struggle to get to the top where the stunning views were. Absolutely breathtaking. There's lots to do at this park, but since it was not set up for people in wheelchairs, we didn't explore more.

What a beautiful way to spend several hours walking in the wilderness. The trails have some marking but you still need to pay attention at junctions. Our 2 mile Rocky Bluff Trail ended with a 5 mile truck as we headed on part of the Wild Turkey Trail. Bring your hiking boots and some water and enjoy a day in nature.
We went back a year later and continue to be surprised. A new visitor center with a big display area in construction as well as good site maps. With the Senior National Pass admission is FREE. Or it is a 5.00 per car fee that is still very reasonable. Plenty of short (less than 1 mile) loop trails as well as longer trails.

I’m in love with this wildlife refuge. It’s been a source of growth, healing, and ...well, refuge.
It’s well maintained and staffed with friendly people. We live a couple miles away and frequently visit the refuge. We take the kayaks, the boat to ski, we fish, we hike the trails, and we communicate with nature. It’s glorious.

Great place to go out and be in nature. The new paved trail/sidewalk is awesome to skate on!!! Let's go roller skating!❤️🌿
A unique place with unique beers made from natural ingredients. A nice little vibe to the place. A little out of the way, but definitely worth checking out. The beer itself, I would say it was hit and miss as you would with the vaired ingredients

Scratch Brewing Company is worth the drive from St. Louis! The beers are unique and are made with local ingredients that are found in nature. The service is excellent, and the employees are knowledgeable and passionate about the beers they serve. There is a cabin-in-the-woods vibe, and the ambiance is immersed in nature. There is both indoor and outdoor covered seating. Children and dogs are allowed. This brewery is cash only, but there is an ATM inside. I definitely would recommend a little day trip from the city to try some of these unique beers! Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable, considering the amount of work that goes into producing these beers!

It has been awhile but the beer, food and location are all unique. Definitely worth the trip and different than your average brewery.

My wife and I ordered the cheese plate with a beer flight. Get ready for some unique flavors! While I loved it all (you really can taste the descriptions) my wife thought the flavors were a little much, but we both loved the aesthetic

We made a four and a half hour drive to visit Scratch, and it was worth it. The beers are all unique in flavor and origin and made with locally grown and foraged ingredients. I can't recommend them enough.

Exceptional place. Very diverse beer selection. If you're looking for traditional beer, this isn't the place. They are doing unique beers. Fantastic outdoor area.

All the beer we tried was amazing. Pizzas were great. Love the atmosphere and the service was great. Will definately return when in the area.

Definitely recommend taking a trip and visiting Scratch. Very friendly & welcoming place. Got their early before the brewery got busy and was able to have a nice conversation with the new bartender, which made the experience even better, especially with my social anxiety. If you can, I recommend trying all the offerings. Everything was well crafted from the beers to the food. Would happily make the trip to try more. It is cash only, but there's an ATM there for convenience.

It's a really magical place! Located in the woods, it consists from several wooden buildings and wooden tents. It has fireplace outside for customers. They brew their beer in this place from foraged ingredients or from ingredients from their garden, their goats. Ask Chris to tell you everything about the foraging and making beers, he is very helpful! You can find wild thyme growing between old stone walls (add it to your pizza 🍕😉) and passion fruits vines which they also use for their Maypop beer. Take samples of snifters because it's just impossible to choose which one is your favorite!

A brewery in the small town of Ava Illinois bedded among nature. They have many unique offerings and use lots of ingredients found on property to brew their beer. We enjoyed sharing several flights to sample their vast selection. They also make wildfire pizza which we missed because we were their earlier in the day. Nice people. Give this unique brewery a try.

We did some hiking (Pomona Natural Bridge then hiked Little Grand Canyon Trail) and headed to Scratch for something to drink. TOTALLY awesome place. We did 2 flights so we could taste everything. We did not try the food. Next trip! Beers are different, fresh, and tasty. Someone knows there brewing. Don't expect the standard IPA, but go with an open mind! Truly a great brewery. The bartender was so nice and answering questions about brewing & the piasa drawn on the wall. GO! Don't hesitate to GO if you are in the area. I will go so far as to say they are in the top 6 breweries I've ever been to. 💕. Go!

Absolutely beautiful brewery in a TUCKED AWAY nook in nature. Quiet, natural, and friendly. Beers are exquisitely crafted with predominantly on location grown ingredients. Small food menu with wood baked pizzas, local cheeses, and ingredients. A true destination brewery to visit. Holiday Inn Express Murphysboro, minutes away.. Has to be on your list of breweries to visit. 🙂🍻
This was so much fun! Everyone was friendly, clear with their instructions, very much at ease in a confidence-inspiring way. Brock and Kendall were welcoming, encouraging, positive, and funny. The zipping is plentiful, fast, and scenic. With a group of 10 there is plenty of time to just look about and take in the beautiful scenery. Relaxing and fun don't always go together, but this was both. This is a must-do activity in the area.

What an amazing adventure!!! Each line was different and just as exciting as the last. I was terrified but I really wanted to have the experience with my 8yr old son. The guides and the owner really helped ease my fears and made the day so memorable. They are all so knowledgeable and safety is their #1 priority, we also loved their jokes they made at every new line. We will definitely be back very soon!

Great experience zipping! Staff was super friendly from the beginning of making the reservation, emailing minor me the waivers days before the tour, all the way to the end of the almost 3 hour tour. Guides are very knowledgeable about the environment and impact the lines have on the trees they're connected to. Will definitely be visiting again in the fall! Be sure to visit their website for driving directions. The Google Map app did great for us though.

A unique outdoor experience. Second time for me and first for the kids. This was one of their favorite things we did during our trip. A variety of lines, few long ones that you don't see the end from the starting platform and also fast ones. Staff explains everything. Very safe, with two guides, a guide at the beginning of the group and also one guide at the end. The guides entertain, educate and also take pictures which are emailed free. This is an outdoor, rain or shine. Eco friendly also. All I can recommend is adding more higher and faster..Thanks for the experience.

We can't recommend it enough! Our guides not only made us feel secure in the zipline, but also were friendly and funny. The whole experience was fun, adventurous, and educational. The small 5 person group size was enjoyable. The speed radar on one of the lines was a clever idea and the 1000ft line was the longest I had ever been on!
Recreation amid 4,000 acres of forest, bluffs & nature preserve with a lodge, cabins & camping.
Such a cool trail! Visited about a year ago in April 2021. Trail is pretty easy to follow, but there are some beaten paths that could confuse the not so aware hiker like myself. Caught myself retracing my steps a few times lol..would definitely hike again!
Isabel Cournoyer — Google review
Absolutely beautiful park!! Felt like we were in another world. Took the Nature Trail, spent about an hour and a half with stopping for pictures. There's a bunch of really cool rock formations- even some you can walk through! Some old stone staircases and caves as well, although all caves are currently closed. This was an absolutely beautiful trail, and while there is some elevation change it's nothing too steep and overall a fairly moderate hike. Definitely worth the views!
Amanda Bird — Google review
Very nice visitor center with mounted animals and plant displays. They have a model of the surrounding area that was interesting to those that like maps. There is a board with information by month. There are a variety of hikes. We did a few of the shorter ones and got to see several of the plants that were exhibited in the visit center.
For those that have trouble walking, note that you can visit the Devil's Standtable by walking up the "exit" portion of the trail at the far end of the parking lot. It is much shorter and less of a climb.

Giant City State Park is AWESOME! Not much has changed since my first visit 35 yrs ago, and that is what makes it AMAZING. Its beautiful, hiking paths and everything else you would expect in a state park. But wait, there's more.
The Lodge at Giant City State Park has amazing food, go there on Sunday for the all you can eat fried chicken with all of the fixings. It is delicious!
If you wanted to get away for a few days or a week, they have cabins available for rent.
Giant city state park is a must see/must visit.

This place is awesome! A lot of scenic hiking trails. Great place to bring your dog. Different trails that can allow for an easy hike, or one more exhorting. If you want to get away and enjoy nature, this is an excellent place to go. It's also close to mom and pop restaurants. I know the lodge is part of this, but you can also support local. Hurry to catch the fall leaves before October is over!

We visit this State Park every year to RV camp and trail hike. We really enjoy the 80’ climbing and rappelling wall. I believe there are 12/13 climbing routes and the rappelling transition off the top is almost zero….easiest you could every have (perfect for new users) The only negative is there’s no water in the park to swim during the summer. The lodge has a small pool but it’s for lodge guest only. Camp ground is electric only with water spigots spaced throughout the campground.

All I can say is that I am not used to seeing state parks like this. The most difficult aspect is staying on the intended trail when there's so much to explore! My curiosity got the best of me as I ventured into some of the caves when I felt a cool breeze flowing out. All of them dead end into a small crevasse. The breeze that exits leads me to believe there has to be a larger cave system. Probably my curiosity getting the best of me. However, I continue to wonder! Keep a keen eye out. There are several trails that have wall anchors for rock climbing. Something I'll keep in mind the next time I visit.
Colorful museum with a Superman-themed collection of over 20,000 comics, toys, shirts & more.
Wow can I say wow! I loved Superman comics and the old TV show as a kid. This place is amazing! It is being renovated currently at a discounted admission but still plenty to see. Everything from original costumes, photos, toys and more. The owners gave us detailed information about the original wool costume. Lots of photos ops and cool souvenirs. I could have chatted for hours. Lots of good places to grab a bite nearby. Don't miss this place if you are in the area. Worth a drive for.

Pretty fun spot in Metropolis! The kids got a kick out of all the statues and signs to look at. The gift shop is smaller, but has a ton packed into it. There’s definitely something for everyone!

Unfortunately the museum was closed for renovations, but the gift shop was open and it was awesome. Superman memorabilia, merch, and collectibles - oh my! Some fun finds and at reasonable prices.

Nice little gift shop and museum. It takes about 45 minutes to go through it. The employee was kind of rude. He did not interact with any of the customers till they were ready to pay. I would not go again only because it's the kind of thing you can really only see once. I would recommend it to any superman fan though.

Great little shop stuffed to the brim with all things marvel - not just Superman stuff. You can find pins, comics, toys, stickers, shirts, and so much more. It's cool to take pictures with the life-size Superman, too! Free restroom also, which was great for roadtrippers like us.
A 2-ton bronze monument to Superman represents the town's claim to being his birthplace.
Stopped here while on a road trip recently. Neat town, I picked up a couple things at the gift shop. I would like to see the gift shop have more reasonably priced toys for kids.

We visited on Eclipse day so the town had blocked off the streets around this.
If you are a comic fan this place is fun. Great photo op with the statue! A few blocks down the street is a Lois Lane statue that is not to be missed.

I would say this statue is one of the most unique courthouse statues I’ve ever come across! This monster is 12’ tall and has a nice platform where one can take photos with him. It’s a roadside America attraction, but is located in the hometown of Superman, Metropolis, so be sure to visit the town and museum/shop when here. Pull right up to the courthouse and you’ll see him; there are many helpful signs directing FB you right here, as well. Cheers!

Fun little clean town with several photo ops Superman is in great shape, there's also Big Boy, Lois Lane, the Daily planet, criptonite, and several beautiful and cool murals. A Superman store also!! Stop and have some fun!!

I understand that there are a lot of places that claim to be the real Superman home, but my road trip took me through metropolis and into Superman square. As you drive in. You see a huge statue of Superman just in the center of town and it's so cool. I got into town around 4:00 and all of the stores were closed already which was super disappointing since there was nothing at all to do in the town but look at the statue I guess try to go earlier in the day if you wanted to walk around and really get to feel for the town, but it's a really quick and easy stop if you're ever headed out that way
Aimee Robidoux — Google review
This was so cool! This little town was absolutely adorable! Although everything was closed on a Sunday except the Superman store.
I would have thought the coffee shop or food would have been open. There was a decent amount of people walking around looking for a place to sit and eat.

Simple rooms in a straightforward casino hotel offering a restaurant & a bar.
Clean, friendly, and small casino. Went to play craps today and found a $5 minimum bet table with 3 people playing at around 1PM. Only there for a few hours, but enjoyed the crew and company. Table chopped and I came out even when playing disciplined. I will return. Thanks!

First the casino, second time visiting had an absolute blast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with teaching me how to play the games. Loved the variety that was offered. Loved that they offer complimentary soft drinks and water and the alcoholic drink were fairly priced and made well. Next the hotel rooms-Very spacious and clean was able to get plenty of rest. The bathrooms are amazing, the toilet was off in its own little room this way the whole bathroom wasn't occupied. Didn't like there was a microwave in the room or even in the ice machine area. Had left over food from the restaurant and wasn't able to reheat it(Saved it for when we came home). Also didn't understand why they change a resort fee. No other events or activates were available. Lastly the restaurant-We visited Bridges for dinner- Everything was absolutely amazing. From the price to the food to the amazing staff. Went back for breakfast and again was absolutely amazing even had leftovers again. Overall the staff were all professional and friendly. The entire stay was great and memorable will definitely be back.

Worst casino I've ever been to. I'm a seven stars rewards member and we were treated awful. The hotel desk clerk couldn't tell me if there were any suites available. There weren't any host's there. Nothing available to eat after 10pm. Drinks were higher than any place I've been. Service was non existent. Slot machines had very low payback(RTP). Mike the host supervisor was supposed to call me the next day and never did. We drove 4 hours to be disappointed. Don't waste your time or money coming to Metropolis .There are way better casino's that have way better staff who appreciate you.

We picked Harrah's as a stopping point on our road trip. With our stay being midweek I understand that the nice restaurant is only open on weekends and won't knock any stars for food selections. There was a neat little hot food vending machine in the lobby area that I had to try. We killed an hour or so in the casino and had a good night's sleep on the super soft king bed. The room was nice and spacious and quiet.

Highly disappointed in this experience. We paid 174 for one night and were looking forward to a great getaway. We were questioned at the front desk about our reservation and card on file because we did not look like the common people who book rooms here. There was no complementary drinks nor any type of breakfast. Nothing special about the room. The room had a faint deadly smell in the bathroom. There were no good restaurants around the area. No view from the hotel. We were very disappointed in the hospitality of this location. I am really questioning what did we pay $174 for to be treated like peasants.

Slots are way to tight, your not going to win there. I was eligible for a comped room but they claimed there was non available so they give me a reasonable rate. But the place was empty. My shower would not work the next morning. All they would do for me was give me some points. Will not go back.

Not the most accommodating casino I've been to. But it's a pretty nice casino with good rooms available in the hotel. No blackjack tables open on a Friday night at 9:00PM. Very few tables set up for games of skill at all. And most were closed no poker room. They do have tons of slot machines. So it's great for those who want to play slots. It's a smoke free casino. The outdoor area is small, dirty, unpainted concrete walls and floor. I guess it's not meant to be inviting. But then again they could have made it a little less like a prison cell. Also there's only 1 waitress on the floor serving drinks during on a Friday night. I was there over 4 hours and was never asked if I wanted a drink. There is a bar.

Had a good time!! Clean and lots of slots! Have your ID ready you have to show that upon entering. Drinks cost.. we got two bloody Mary it was 10.00. Stayed about 2 hours lost 350.00. On our way out I did stop at the Buffalo slots and hit it for 279.00 but put it right back in and didn't win again. I did enjoy it I just wish the slots were looser. Will go back

Nice casino by the water. We are traveling and towing a trailer so parking was great, plenty of space for trailers and trucks. We won on the roulette table and black jack. No wins on slots. I have a recommendation for the manager, you should post a breakfast menu near the restaurant/bar. A few of us patrons were wondering where we should go to get breakfast until I found a paper menu on the ground at the edge of the bar

We didn't stay at the hotel. We were just passing through on a road trip. The casino was nice.

Had a good time visiting with family. Sad at the lack of fun games. Everytime a fun game arrives it is just months before it is being removed from the floor. Such as Willy Wonka and many others. I feel the selection of games needs to be evenly distributed. Waitresses were really good offering free Pepsi and Water. Please always tip your waitresses. Things keep moving out and slowly are disappearing. The small restaurant on the actual floor that offered milkshakes and other foods to customers is now gone. Toward the back of the room it is so much colder then in the front. It doesn't seen like as many people are actually winning as they used to. Could be a lot more fun! Place was very clean and had workers cleaning games as people were getting off it. You do have to wear a mask when visiting. This did not bother me at all. There is plenty of room to get 6' or more away from others. There is plenty of hand sanitizing stations. Will I return, probably but I am not running over there with extreme excitement ready to play like I used to.

Everyone was very kind to speak with, however Harrahs needs a good cleaning. No house keeping services my entire stay, we weren’t even given the option to have it, had to call every day for towels etc and it took forever to get them. We also calling for toilet paper and it was hours and hours and we had to all again and remind them. Nothing to eat here before 10am so we had to go elsewhere for breakfast. Definitely some improvements could be beneficial

Most of these reviews are dead on right. You will not win any money on slot machines. These are the tightest machines I’ve ever seen in my 50 years. Here’s my biggest problem, their bathtubs are slick as ice and they have an undersized mat to step on. (I have plenty pics) I was washing my hair and my foot came off the mat and I fell and messed up my arm big time. I was hoping it was just sore but I can’t even raise it this morning so I will be going to Doctor bad as I hate to. I think Harrah’s thinks they’re invincible because they acted like it was no big deal to them. No place to get food. A new small restaurant opened but one older lady was the only one they’re working. This casino only cares about making as much money as possible without putting it back into hotel because it’s outdated, filthy carpet and wrong size bath mats. I’d highly suggest driving further to a different casino because you won’t hit nothing on their slot machines worst I’ve ever seen in my life. I will never return there again.

Could definitely offer more if they are going to charge a DAILY "resort" fee. That was really disappointing. Resorts offer assistance, pools and friendly staff. River view room - was also laughable. It should say partial view. I definitely set my expectations too high for this one.

Overall a very great experience on my weeknight December stay.
Hotel rooms were very clean and well appointed with a consistent "gold luxury" theme. A coffee maker and mini fridge are an unusually nice treat for casino hotels.
Beds were comfortable, the shower was really nice. The hotel provides bulk dispensers of shampoo/conditioner, but I found the quality of the supplies to be less than my liking.
The attached casino has plenty of games for lower stakes players, including $5 craps well into the late evening and a 8/5 JoB video poker game at 5 cent denomination. Not a fan of the very lengthy facial recognition process to be allowed to enter, though.
This isn't a very densely populated area, options for food are limited.

We arrived at 1230am. I have never been at a casino that they would not do new player cards. 🙄
We felt like we were being watched, for some odd reason. I didn't say anything to my husband, when he told me he felt like they were watching us, I knew I wasn't making it up.
It's not run my Indians, so might be a little bias to other cultures than the typical bunch that were present.
The bartender was very sweet. She provided great service.
My husband was betting $5 a roll, win free games to win $4.88. The only machine that pays is the bill break machine, after you've lost $500. Walking out with .45€.
Save your money and go elsewhere.

The place was very clean. Went there 2 days in a row. My wife won a big jackpot the first night and over $700 the next night. Fun place to go. The restaurant inside the casino has some of the tastiest hamburgers and fries.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived well before check in and instead of making us wait until 4pm they immediately gave us a room. The hotel room was very neat and clean but a little dated which, honestly, doesn't effect my experience in the least. There are 2 restaurants on site and a hot food vending machine in the lobby. The casino is small but very clean and the waitresses are very attentive. There is no smoking on the casino floor and the room we stayed in was also non-smoking. I suffer from asthma and not being inundated with the smell of stale smoke from the past is awesome. They are known for their large Superman statue but there is also a smaller Lois Lane 2 blocks away and my favorite was a Big Boy dressed as Superman in front of one of the souvenir stores. Metropolis is a small town with a big heart we really enjoyed our stay.

I really do not know why there are so many negative reviews regarding this facility. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. The front desk staff was very welcoming. Check in was fast. I read so many comments slots are tight. I disagree with this 100% my husband and I hit several bonuses. Ended up walking away with some money and played alot. Atmosphere was fun. Casino is small but had no issues getting a machine. Lastly, I can not say enough about the Bethany the bartender. She was amazing. Super friendly, new how to make a drink. I had an old fashioned..no one can make. She can. Her partner working with her(I don't remember her name) was also very friendly. All around a great 1 night getaway. Don't let the negative reviews stop u from stopping in. Do it!!
Century Casino Cape Girardeau is a modern gambling establishment that offers over 900 slot machines, a variety of table games and five chic dining options. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing guidance to newcomers who may be unfamiliar with the gambling experience. Visitors can enjoy the exciting atmosphere and try their luck at winning big. It's worth giving it a shot as one never knows what fortune might bring.
First time there and I really enjoyed myself, spent 20 and came home with little over 200, probably first time luck! I haven’t been to a casino in years but it was a great time! I would recommend atleast trying your luck! You never know

We very much enjoyed the Casino, and affordable place to eat. Had a great time playing the slots, staff was very friendly, very clean machines, and nice bathrooms! We went 2 nights because we had so much fun! They need more handicapped parking closer to the entrance however. We highly recommend going there! Next time we go we may stay at their hotel.

The casino has changed ownership so much. They've stopped announcing jackpots, not thrilled over that. The promotions have been reduced drastically. I will say, the partnership they have with the local hotels are nice. Our stay at pear tree Inn was awesome !!!::

I'm not a gambler, but I wanted to try it out. I was not disappointed. When I stopped to get my card when I got there, the lady was very pleasant and walked me through everything pertinent when I told I had never gambled anywhere like this before. The young man at the bar was very helpful about showing me how to use the machines there at the bar. The whole place and experience was really cool. And it doesn't hurt that I came out ahead!

New to blackjack. Dealers were helpful. Miss Kayla was outstanding....She was very well versed in all the table games, was incredibly hospitable yet professional. She even advised us on how to play individual hands when asked. Incredibly charming....delightful person...the captain and I broke even, but left feeling like winners...Thank you Kayla...We'll be back!

Lots of slot machines with a good variety of games. You win some and lose some! Hopefully today’s donation will keep the lights on for a little while ;) short drive to cape from south East Missouri. Friendly staff. A new hotel is being built on site. Looks to be 6 stories high.

The only reason I am giving four stars is because a lot of the games were down when I came in. And only one ATM was working. Other than that, the other few times I’ve been in it was a lot of fun! The staff are always sweet. I came in for my birthday and everyone was happy!

This was my second time dining at this restaurant. The first was hands down 5 stars all around. I was not impressed on my most recent visit. The wedge salad was mostly the worst part of the lettuce and not enough blue cheese dressing. The bacon was cold and burnt. Shrimp was good, but the sauce was so rich I couldn't finish it.

Update.. Valentines day 2024.. i had an amazing filet, cooked to perfection. My husband had the Trout. We both truly enjoyed our meal. This time, the Chefs wife spent some time with us. She is very friendly and i enjoyed talking with her. We had truffles for dessert.. mouth watering.(2023)We went to the Beacon 53 restaurant for an early Valentines Day dinner. The food was superb and the atmosphere was excellent. We truly enjoyed our experience. Chef Robert came out to talk to us. He told me how to make the fruit tart that i found so delicious. . Our waiter was perfect. He was very attentive and helpful. It was a bit expensive, but we were expecting it to be. It was the best dinner we have had in a very long time.

5 Stars all around!
Just recently moved to the area and had never been to a Casino before. Doing something for the first time can be intimidating, but Century made it a fun and exceptional experience.
The slots are varied and enjoyable, but the table games are where this place shines. While the number is limited, the staff are the highlight. Austin and Janice were very polite and patient with me. They helped me figure out 3 card Poker enough that I played a few hands and walked out with some money. I will definitely be back.
An extra shout out to the ladies at the Winner's Circle as well. They do a great job explaining the rewards program and answering any questions you may have. If you are ever in Cape Girardeau and want to have a good time, definitely check out Century Casino. You will not be disappointed.

First time here I really enjoyed myself I think there could have been a little bit more customer service far as offering drinks
I was so happy that this was open. I was here 9 years ago and the park was closed because the river was up. I actually got to stand on the last bit of land in the south of Illinois. I saw barges moving down the Ohio and going up the Mississippi. Not many places on earth where two great rivers converge.
Barry Hill — Google review
A wonderful place to see the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers, large barges moored and piloted, a memorial to Lewis and Clark visiting the site. A very natural area with a parking lot at the entrance and a drive to almost the confluence when gate is open. A peaceful location to sit and contemplate the pace of life back in the day.
Anupa D. — Google review
So there are places that are important in many different ways. The confluence where mighty rivers meet is a beautiful place no matter what. Id love to see this place invested in. The staff were nice, the people were diverse and lovely, and the history is rich in all ways. Facing the dark helps us grow. Do not avoid it. Value the beauty of complexity and nature.
Andrea Zoppo (Ms. Ladybug) — Google review
This park offers the best view of the confluence of Ohio and Mississippi rivers. There's an observation deck atop a building, although it's up some stairs. River traffic, street traffic on the nearby bridges and the park setting make for some nice pictures. Free entertainment.
That said, it's a sad little park. Empty alcohol bottles and other evidence indicates it is used for other activities at certain times. Cairo does not have a lot going for it, so keep expectations low. But, there's really only one reason to visit, and it does that very well.
Jeff Bennett — Google review
Nice view of the rivers, but that is all that is there. So if you are just looking for a natural view, it is great.
Patty Ferguson — Google review
It's in an amazing location at the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. The observation deck provides great reviews. However, the park is in pretty bad shape and other than the view or the rivers and bridges there's not much to do. It's worth it for a quick stop.

Fort defiance is beautiful and such an important place in American history. We saw several families there enjoying nature there is something so special about this place I wish they could receive more funding from a government agency to maintain this area because it is so worth it. Cairo is so worth it. They deserve it more than any place I know
Kylie B. — Google review
it’s a cool park on the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, but the main pavilion is full of wasp nests. Most are abandoned but some are active. I don’t understand how a park located in such an important area can be so poorly maintained.
Orcaman17 YT — Google review
A place of true historical and geographic significance! The interpretive signs were placed at the entrance to the park and most were in good condition. Lightly attended on the day I visited so plenty of space to wander and reflect upon Lewis & Clark’s training at this location, the heartache as the Trail of Tears led a thousand natives near here, and the tactical and strategic acknowledgement of this point by Col. U. S. Grant as he staged his attack on the Confederacy in 1861. So glad I finally took the time to drive down to this park.
Daniel Bacon — Google review
As many other reviewers note, the park is past its prime. It’s still worth a stop, but be aware it isn’t in the best shape. It’s very cool to see the confluence of two of America’s biggest rivers culturally and geographically, which can be seen with the small platform at the tip of Illinois. There are several historical markers at the front car park/entrance, but the gates were not opened on time which made those camping inside to have to wait an hour just to drive out, and me to walk through the park, which wasn’t a big deal. Worth a stop either way, cheers.

I just picked up pictures from online order. The Cape Girardeau Store seems dirty and cluttered.

The pharmacy is most definitely not recommended the techs either rude or takes forever . My friends and I love Walgreens but the pharmacy is a headache. I notice new techs maybe they are seeking approval but as of today I will be switching from the pharmacy. I’ve tried with them but it seems the service is always a challenge at the window.
Lynette — Google review
A year ago I would have given them a five-star rating. And honestly, Walgreens pharmacy still has wonderful pharmacists, kind and courteous techs, and nice, helpful staff. However, I'm concerned about this store. I have been going here since 2015 and I have seen some significant changes like the shelves not being stocked and faced. I went today to pick up my prescriptions and I had a list of other items I wanted to buy. Some shelves were completely bare. I just wanted some Gas-X or the generic. None. Matter a fact, that entire section looked empty. Seriously, are you guys going out of business?

Made online order and didn't know how to go about it and my phone died. So I let it charge and went in the store to look if they had something. Went out to get my phone and a worker was standing at the door watching me and when I got out she told me she was trying to see if I was meeting somebody. Weird but got my online order. Very uncomfortable

Yvonne is awesome and a huge asset to Walgreens! Best experience I've had at this store in so long.
Jessica Williams — Google review
I am giving a 3 star rating simply because of the pharmacy's hours. It's hard enough to make to the pharmacy on time before they close. Walgreens went from being a 24-hour pharmacy to closing at 6pm on most nights, even now being CLOSED ON A SATURDAY!! I MEAN COME ON!! That is EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT!! 😩
I always liked the fact that you all were at open at least until 8pm! At least in most other locations anyway, they still are.
And by the way, y'all need to change your hours on Google! Because it still says your pharmacy is open 24-hours!! Obviously, that's not true! 🙄
Other than the inconvenient hours, the staff IS ALWAYS very helpful, friendly, and professional. ❤️

I have always used Walgreens in the past, and I’ve had rather good experiences. However, This experience changed my perspective. While I do enjoy being able to call and check on the app whenever my prescription is ready, I have had a tough time getting my location for my main pharmacy changed, and every time I call the phone number, I am always redirected to another line. I was redirected for different times today. Then, I went into the store and nicely asked for my prescription to be refilled. The girl refill Duron’s prescription, which could’ve been my fault, but then she proceeded to tell me that I would have to go cut contact the other store for them to switch my prescription over. I told her I had called multiple times, and she said she would help me get someone to help me further. Then, She never showed back up and never requested for anybody to come help me. I am very disappointed in my services here.

Staff was absloutly unwilling to help me find an item. I knew it was in stock as the website says, they instead it was not and refused to help me look for it. I ordered it online for pick up and they magically found the product I was looking for. This is why I shop at CVS.

I only went to the Flea Market and not to any of the other stores. I HIGHLY recommend the Flea Market - it is the cleanest and well organized. I went and checked out country Pickens the new flea market to see about a booth and it was really clean. Very cheaply priced items and I almost don't want to go get a booster because I'm going to have to lower my prices to compete. But really I'll probably get a booth there pretty soon. They're cheap and it's a good business and a way to get the factory outlet mall back up and running with more stores in there
This museum was enjoyable to visit. You can spend an hour or so on it and get a history of the New Madrid area. We were greeted with with good hospitality coming in the door. Jeff was absolutely amazing and so passionate and I mentioned how I was into historical fashion and he showed me the incredible (if not slightly haunted) upstairs ! The museum itself had so much information and artefacts from all different time spans and this was overall one of the highlights of our trip!! Thank you Jeff !!

This little place packs a punch!! We definitely didn't realize how much wonderful history was packed into this museum. We stayed for a little over an hour, but had we arrived earlier we could have easily made it 2 or 3.
The video at the beginning of the visit definitely helps with perspective, so please don't discount it. Don't forget to visit the upstairs!!

Also, a great collection of antiques giving insight into American history. and an impressive collection of intact Native American artifacts, not just shards.

This is a really cool place to say you were there. There is a small museum that you must go through. It had a lot of things to look at and take pictures of.
Large lake park featuring cypress trees, aquatic plants & American bald eagles.
Excellent campsites, price, spacing and views! Firewood is $6.
Best spots are 2, 3 & 15-20. All by the water. 2 functional bath houses that are cleaned every morning.
Kayak rentals and boat ramp are by spots 2 & 3. Convenient and great spots for us kayakers but you're gonna have a lot of foot traffic. The campground was packed out but everyone was respectful, nice and quiet.
# 15 is by the pavilion so if you're tent camping, you have a dry place to hang out if it rains.
But the best spot is # 20. No foot traffic and private, by the water and not far from the bathhouse.
Next door, within walking distance from spots 2 & 3, is the resort and restaurant, Blue Bank Fish House, with excellent comfort food and waterfront views! (See my review for Blue Bank Fish House) Don't forget the mosquito repellent!

It was cold and very windy and as you see in the photos there was a lot of ice. This is a very beautiful place with lots of places to walk. There are many Eagles and the Cypress trees and just stunning. I was surprised as cold as it was how busy it was, but with it's beauty and easy access I can understand. The boardwalks are well built and I would assume could easily be used for wheel chairs.
The restrooms were clean and maintained as well.
If you have time, stop off and visit the beautiful Eagle that lives there. He is very attentive.

Super photogenic state park - specially before spring season where you see white dry broken trees around as well as inside the lake. Very nice scenic view. It's little off road from I55 and you'll have to drive on single lane road for about 30 min but it's worth driving for such an awesome view. There's no restroom with running water so you manage with the dry portable one only. No food options either nearby few miles.

The park needs a serious renovation. The camping spots are very short. And I couldn't even fit my camper and my truck in the same spot I had to park my truck in the grass. I got to give them credit though the showers were very hot, and had great water pressure. But other than that there's really not a whole lot to do around there, and the constant barrage of Cypress nuts and persimmons on the roof of the camper all night long, kind of got annoying.
