Love this campground so much. I've driven up there twice now (from Columbus, OH) and it's perfect! Clean, spacious, family friendly, and a super short walk to the beach. Also perfect place for hammocks! So many trees.

Beach was fine. If you want to sit and layout or sift through the sand for Petoskey stones, this is your beach. Open area of sandy beach overlooking Petoskey and Harbor Springs. I'm sure the sunsets aren't too shabby either.

My wife and I and our kids loved Petoskey State Park. The beach is wonderful! Lots of space to stake your own area! The waves really start going sometimes, but can be a lot of fun! 🌊
Recommend having younger kids wear a life jacket if they plan to go out in the water some.
If you have the state park pass, it gets you in. Not quite sure on the pricing without it. Def a must have relaxation destination if you are in the area for a visit or live there!!

Awesome place to stay. #134 so close to water and beach.
Bathrooms are a little dated, but still, they were clean. Hated we couldn't take our dog to the beach. This was disappointing, but everything was so clean. Clear water. Beautiful rocks. Beautiful sunsets. We will still be back.
There are so many places here that are good spots. If you have a bigger camper, it will be tight getting it in .
It's so beautiful that we loved it here. A pleasant surprise

The bay was beautiful but lots of trash on the beach. Campground clean. Check-in a bit disorganized, a phone call on the yellow bat phone, then proceed to the ranger station for them to ask more questions and then give you a pass. No water at sites, but bathrooms clean.

Beautiful views! The beach is lovely and Old Baldy Trail had some spectacular views!!! The campground is quiet with nice sites. Shower facilities are relatively clean and the rangers are wonderful!

We camped here two years ago and loved it!! Reserved a spot for this summer and can’t wait to go back. The beach is very relaxing and only a few minute walk from our RV. Bike trails are extensive and the people are so kind

Incredible trails, lake views, lake access. Excellent year-round place to visit.

Excellent campground at the Petoskey State Park. The dunes campground is largely for tents while the tannery campground is mostly RVs. Very close to the beach. All sites have plenty of tree shade. Highly recommended for family stay. A couple of trails attached to the campground. View from the old baldy trail top is good.

First time to Petoskey State Park and it's beautiful. We hiked all the trails and went to the beach. Water was too cold so we did some rock hunting and played in the sand.
We went there 3 times during our 4 day trip

Great state park with one of the best Lake Michigan beaches in the area. Plenty of parking, sand dunes, and hiking trails. You can also camp here, which we did, but you have to book far ahead of time for prime camping months of June-Aug. Surprisingly few mosquitoes in the camping and hiking areas.

We stayed in site 130 on a weekend in the beginning of October. The site is fairly level. We only had to use one leveling block under each front tire of our suv. If you are tent or car camping, this a quick walk to the bathroom/showers, but not so close that you have to deal with the traffic, which is nice as this is the only restroom facility for approx. 100 sites and people were constantly coming and going while we were there. There is a parking area for a few cars in front of the bathhouse, which is great if you have a site further away. The bathrooms were clean. We did not use the showers. Not a lot of privacy from your neighbors at site 130. It's not a spacious site. There are no designated tent pads at any of the sites that we saw. It was quite cold so we car camped, but if we'd wanted to put up our tent, there was a small area to the left (where you see the picnic table in the photos) that looked like it might have worked if we'd moved the picnic table closer to/along the other side of the fire pit. The tent/gazebo you see in photos belonged to site 132. The path to the lakefront is very close (just two sites away). Overall we enjoyed our stay. We would definitely come back, but would try to get site 133 (or similar) next time, with more privacy, more space, and also near a lakefront path. I included photos of site 133 (empty) as well.

We enjoy this park in the off-season when it slows down. Becomes a nice place to relax away from the traffic, hustle and bustle of all the towns. Make sure you have a state park pass for entry and of course to support your parks.

This is a gem of a State Park. Great beach with beach concessions and lots of parking. Some 180 campsites with power, nearby water, and modern restrooms and showers. Ready access to the local bicycle trail network and nice hiking trails inside the park. Campsites nearly all great and roomy enough for most trailers and rvs.
John Crankshaw — Google review
The park itself is beautifully taken care of, staff are welcoming and full of information not to mention humorous! We had what felt like a huge site next to the boardwalk that lead up to the beach. The beach is a mile long and half is sand the other half where our site was is rocky. For other rock lovers like myself it was paradise. The lot had electric but no sewer or water hookups. Our neighboring campers were quiet and it was such a nice weekend! There are nice bike trails, conveniently located at the north side of Petoskey which was close enough to shop and restaurants! We are planning to return next year.

Our favorite Michigan State Park, and there are a lot of beautiful parks. We have been coming here for at least 2 vacations every summer.

Decided to go “Up North” for a week day getaway with my husband. Surprisingly, it was a warm October day in the high 60’s!! We’ve been wanting to come here for a while to look for Petoskey stones. The beach was almost empty so we were able to pick a spot to look for that famous stone!! We did find a few small stones so they are there if you look hard enough. The public restrooms were still opened and clean. Over all, the beach was so peaceful and beautiful! Can’t wait to visit again soon!
The Petoskey Downtown Historic District is an area in Petoskey, Michigan that has been designated as a commercial historic district. It encompasses the region between Rose, Division, Michigan and Petoskey streets. In 1986 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places due to its historical significance.
Odawa Casino is a modern destination that provides calm accommodations, as well as a pool and convenient transportation to the casino area. The resort's rooms have a restrained aesthetic to ensure guests can relax in comfort. Additionally, the hotel offers shuttle service at no cost for easy access to the casino grounds.
We stayed overnight in their RV parking area. No hookups, but it was a nice paved area. I believe you can request shuttle service to the casino, but I walked.
It's not a real large casino, but it was nice. There is a smoking room, but you can smell the smoke when you're close to it in the main non-smoking area.
The beer was nice and cold, and not too bad of a price ($3 for a domestic bottle).
They had some table games. I believe they were all either $10 or $25 minimums.
The slots were good to me, so I can't say anything negative about them. But I don't go in there thinking that I'm going to win a lot. After all, it's gambling.
The servers were great. They were friendly and quick. No waiting 20 minutes to get your drink.
I would definitely come back.

Everything was great! The staff at both the hotel and casino were extremely friendly and kind. The casino was clean and sanitized. The breakfast buffet at the hotel is wonderful! One person seemed to be running it all and they did a phenomenal job!! Thank you, Odawa!! We'll be back soon!
Nicole ?Nikki? Powley — Google review
My wife Sandy and I spent three days at your beautiful Casino. It was clean and spaced out quite well.
While Sandy played slots, I pretty much played the table games. The dealers that I came in contact with that stood out were Vic, Thomas, Vickie and a Gentleman with a braided pony tail at the Craps table. Each and every one of these staff members were kind, courteous and at times hilarious! These folks are great assets to your Casino!
Thanks to all for providing a great time, we look forward to our next visit soon!

Casino is a mixed bag
THE GOOD
->The casino is very clean and I love how lowkey it is… despite everything the vibe is good
->Decent video poker pay tables
->Sometimes they have $5 3-2 BJ but it’s only one table and it’s usually full so ymmv
->The dealers are super friendly
->The Cherry Pepsi from the soda machines tastes better than Cherry Pepsi from anywhere else
->I’ve heard the hotel is lovely
THE BAD
->They close at 12 on weekdays which I didn’t know when I walked in at 11.
->Hospitality is almost non existent… I wanted to sign up for a players card and couldn’t find anyone to help. I eventually asked at the pay window and they told me the players club was closed for the night and that there was nothing they could do for me… the kicker is the guy said I wasn’t missing much since I was only planning to play video poker and BJ. When I was leaving a guy in a suit “came down from upstairs” and said he could help me… to his credit he was friendly and helpful but it’s clear signing up new players wasn’t normally part of his job.
->The slot machine I played was a bloodbath… since the $5 free play can’t be used on table games and the place was closing in 1/2 an hour I put $40 into a slot and figured I would play on that until close and walk away with whatever I had…. I was betting the minimum and my $45 didn’t last 15 minutes. It wasn’t a slow bleed where you get some nice little wins on the way to losing either, it was like throwing money into a burning pit. But hey the grift worked because they got me to play slots which I almost never do.
->The sportsbook is a self serve kiosk a lot of the time because no one is working the desk. This wouldn’t be a big deal but the kiosk doesn’t dispense cash so if you have a winning ticket you have to re-bet or cash out onto a ticket that is supposed to be redeemed at the desk. If the desk is closed you have to walk over to the pay window where sometimes they can cash it and other times they tell you it can only be redeemed at the book in person. More than once I’ve left with a winning ticket instead of cash because of this, which is frustrating. Also you can’t use your players card with the book so you don’t get credit for betting on sports.
->The comps seem stingy… look i’m grateful for everything but holy cow I’ve been playing VP and BJ here 2-3 nights a week for a few months now and haven’t gotten anything so much as a mailer. Meanwhile I still get food and freeplay offers from other Michigan Casinos that I only go to once or twice a year. I’ve also never been offered drinks here which usually happens at other casinos. I don’t drink so this isn’t a big deal to me but others will want to know.

Went to the room 94 restaurant and we were not impressed.
Lacking several drinks listed on the menu. We asked for two different beers and they brought the same to both without consulting different choices. They did correct the issue after we brought it to their attention, we were just shocked they did it. The food is basic.
They seem to focus on smoked brisket…. They should learn how to cook it as well. It was tough, we had to use a knife to cut it…sad.
I like this casino o won’t give up on them, just marking this visit as a negative experience.

We had a good time for three hours here! My husband took me in a pre-Christmas trip on Nov. 30, 2021. They opened right on time! (We went early in the day.)
we didn’t win much but we didn’t spend much. We had fun trying. ☺️
The staff was incredible. The kind lady at the players club window, helped us get our cards, told us about various attractions,in the casino & out. She answered any, and all of our many questions.
We had drinks at the bar, (the bartender was friendly) & since it was a Tuesday, there wasn’t too many other people. We wore our masks & had fun trying to win back our twenties!
Good Variety of slot machines.
I would have liked to have gone when there was entertainment and also to have tried the in house restaurant.
Every single employee (floor person, bartender, players club personnel) we came into contact with, treated us with respect and answered any questions we might have about machines, or slot play, or dining, or other betting areas; being the novices we were.

We had a great experience. Only a couple things I wish that were different. One the hotel is not right next to the casino (would definitely be more convenient if it was) 2nd there needs to be some updating. Beds are hard and the room just felt average.

We stayed the night in our R.V. and they had plenty of parking. They have a parking garage or open parking your choice. The casino is very nice and clean. There are lots of great games to choose from.

It's was our first time at this Casino.
We really liked the way the smoking are was cl I see off. We had a super time. We were able to play the slips for over 2 hours, I left with my original $50. Plus. We will go back.

Dinner was not the greatest had garlic bread with beef tips, beef tips were good bread was very hard, the hamburger my husband ordered was saturated with grease served with rotten tomatoes, we were seated with two small tables together instead of a comfortable dinning table, were told they were all taken but not one person occupied any of those empty spots while we had dinner,,, not one person sat at any of those empty tables!!!!! The casino is nice The restaurant needs attention especially the greeter and the waitress. They are there to serve Us, not for us to be made to feel so very uncomfortable. Food options need to be rethought.
Renee Hoeft — Google review
Cleanest casino in Northern Michigan, slots are loose compared to other casinos, this is far better than turtle creek. Meals are quality, affordable and great staff.
Vic Ouellette — Google review
We stayed at the casino hotel. Our heater in the room was noisy and going on and off all night, also blowing cold air. The tub was plugged, stood in water while taking a shower. We have gone to the casino multiple times and don't do anything. Also, because I don't use my card all the time, I wasn't able to receive a birthday slot play. We use my husbands. The slots are getting to expensive to bet max anymore. We're retired, and we don't bet $5, $8, $10. As we've experienced in the past, betting max on a machine, you win more frequently. Sad, your pricing people out of being able to go gamble.
Franklin John — Google review
Not much traffic. Spent 3 days here and seen less than 50 people at anytime. ( I was there a minimum of 4 hours each time.)The slots are super tight, no poker during the week, and the blackjack table doesn't open until 4pm. the payout kiosks are all out of order. I will drive to other casinos before I come back here.
Dan — Google review
I enjoy a casino experience where you can play and have fun. I like to think of it like an adult arcade but Haven't had much fun at this one. It's like the games don't even give you enough to let you keep playing for a little bit.
Ashley and the funny Fam — Google review
The games were fun, but did not win a dime (which I expected). I had never been to the casino before, so for a first timer the atmosphere was pretty good. Free soda and such. Alcoholic Drinks are expensive and so is the food court. Probably won't be going again, but I was fun for a first time experience.

It was easy to get here, but ticket area to cash our tickets were hard to find. Had to ask guard to get help with machines. Workers were hard to find for help.

I understand there are lucky days and not so lucky days, but even when I hit bonuses they paid next to nothing. It's now clear to me why the place was empty on a Saturday night and why they aren't open 24 hours.
Mark Tomesek — Google review
I was part of a batcholor party that played here. It was a busy Saturday night but we had a good time and managed to find a few seats at the tables. I did alright with slots while by friends did well at blackjack.

My mother and I decided to take a spontaneous trip out to this Casino since we've never been before. Upon our arrival, we loved the overall look of the outside of the Casino. Very inviting and beautiful design. Once we entered the Casino, we noticed the Security post was empty. No employee greeted us upon entering what so ever. We headed over to get our players card since we had a coupon for $5 free play. The woman who was at the window was extremely rude and cold to us. I believe her name was Anita. She acted as if we were an inconvenience to her right away and was short with us the whole time. We both were completely put off by her attitude. Having people at the *welcome desk* that don't even want to be there, sucks the fun out of the experience. At least fake that you enjoy your job. We walked around for a short while and played a couple games and left. Very underwhelming experience overall.
Aleasha Miller — Google review
The five minutes it took us to lose all our money was fun. Machines are tight with absolutely no return. We’re not looking to win a jackpot but it would be nice to sit and play for a while since we bothered to get up and out for the night.

What a fun little casino! Played a little, won a little, got to have a nice romantic dinner with my husband with my winnings! Great little nugget rewards of $5.00 on your players card with X amount of points earned! Super fun!

Worst hotel experience ever. Gentleman at front desk was quite put out that he had to take time to check us in, had to continually ask for info on shuttle, where elevators were etc. No one else in line waiting to check in at the desk, three people behind the counter so they were not busy. Wrote the hotel, no response. Casino was so so, some older machines not working but no signs showing they were out of order. 40 years of traveling and never received the disrespect this hotel staff provided. Never again.

Went here, immediately got racially profiled. Always went here the last three years, got accused of smoking, so I took my money and left. Absolutely disgraceful. Imagine being told you have something you DONT and being threatened that it’s a felony. Yeah good luck. I definitely won’t be giving you my money in the future. What a joke

Didn’t stay at the hotel. However, we took two elderly aunts of ours there for some pre-holiday fun in the casino. It was perfect! We were there on Friday before Christmas. The casino was clean and smoke free. The machines all looked as though they were cleaned and sanitized. Our Aunts had a blast, as did we. Btw…. After 2 hours of fun for 6 of us, we headed to Sage for dinner.

Catholic shrine in a park with a huge crucifixion sculpture plus a nun doll museum.
I am not catholic but this really gave me pause and I definitely felt humbled. It is a beautiful work. The setting is peaceful and spiritual. The cross walk made you mindful of the suffering of Christ. Plenty of parking. It’s free to enter but there are places you can donate.

Only been to the cross of the woods with an old girlfriend once, it was a magnificent area lots of woods, the Cross itself is just absolutely magnificent. It definitely honors Jesus Christ beautifully. I'm going to go up as soon as I can, because I don't really want to forget going up there. It's a great place to go. And the wooded areas are thick with beauty.

Cross in the Woods is a lovely and relaxing place for contemplation and prayer. There were winding paths through a beautiful wooded area with various shrines to different saints. You could also follow a path to contemplate upon the Stations of the Cross. At the center of this place, stands a gigantic cross with Christ upon it, reminding us of sacrifice, love, and grace. It was a very peaceful place, even with many people visiting.

Amazing, beautiful, peaceful place to reflect and worship. Features an outdoor mass with a huge cross of Jesus as the center focus. The surrounding wooded areas have stations with saints and a meditation walk. The gift shop is abundant, and the service friendly and informative. It is just a wonderful, spiritual place to reconnect, pray, and slow down to worship for a bit. I hope to be able to attend a mass one day.

Made a quick detour on a drive down I-75 to visit the Cross in the Woods and it was absolutely worth it. The visit took about 45 minutes but that was entirely a result of how much we enjoyed the stop and wanted to take our time enjoying the serenity of place. The grounds were well maintained and lined with easily walkable paths. Worth knowing there is no cost to visit and there are restrooms available near the parking lot. The Cross (Crucifix) was stunning and the outdoor setting was the absolute picture of peace and calm on the day we visited. The giftshop is not a a requirement in any way but had a few decent souvenirs.

Completely breath taking. This place will completely move you if you are Catholic or not. If I lived a little closer, I’d attend mass here once and a while, as the drive would be worth it. You will get a sense of peace while visiting the grounds. We couldn’t stay long, as it’s still pretty cold up here. We’ll be back this summer, for sure. Love and peace to all who visit.
Shoreline park on the Inland Waterway offers paddling & fishing plus picnic & pet-friendly areas.
The sites are fairly close but are all flat and quite accessible with power. The bathrooms and showers are kept clean. Plenty of open, partially wooded space for picnicking and playgrounds near the large beach. We stayed at two adjacent sites for a weekend with our entire family and had a wonderful time. Burt Lake State Park is typical beautiful Michigan.

We stayed At Burt Lake SP on our way to Mackinac Island. The lake and beach were clean and beautiful. The campsite we chose was very tight but noticed that there were other sites that were spacious and backed up to a big field. Looking at the site map it was clear those sites were bigger all around but we did reserve at the last minute. However the family atmosphere was awesome! Families playing guitar around the fire, whole families playing kickball together and kids playing softball. Lots of boats anchored on the lake. we had an electric site but there were two dump and water sites!

Nice, clean little state park on a lake. Some of the sites have a lake view. It was cool and windy the weekend we were there so not much time outside. Centrally located so Petoskey or Mackinaw areas are only about 35 minute drive. Some nice restaurants in the area.

Great Park and close to all of the energy from the Inland Waterway. We were surprised to find as much grass on the sites as we did. Nice beach, awesome boat launch. The only down falls are the camp store might be better utilized if it was closer to the boat launch or day use area, and the playgrounds need to be updated.

Had a mini family reunion here in July. We rented a pontoon boat and had an easy launch at the redone launch area. We found a picnic table near the little store/restrooms. It wasn't too crowded, the weather was perfect, and the kids had a blast. We really enjoyed this park!
Fixture with water tours, winter sports rentals, mini-golf & ropes courses, plus a general store.
We had an absolute blast. We went two times in one week after such a great experience the first time. Very accommodating with our large group the first day. Made sure we all had our tubes and cooler tubes. Super helpful getting us set up once they dropped us off at the river. We had so much fun.
Tori Waller — Google review
Fun Time tubing the river, but this is not a lazy river to casually float! You need to be paying attention for obstacles above and below the water. We did have kids in our group (ages 6-16) that never tubed or canoed a river previously and the start of this trip was very overwhelming for them. All have been in and around water and know how to swim, but where we started the float was very fast and had a lot of trees. after the first 15-30 min they all got the hang of it and had a lot of fun as well!
Tying tubes together is not recommended for large groups, but we did alright keeping 2-3 together without any issues.
Overall very fun experience and would recommend, but we did have some issues to start our trip. As soon as we walked in the doors to the store, the workers seemed very overwhelmed and there is a lot of chaos even though I do not think they were really that busy. when we were paying and going through all of the rules and processes, we paid for all of our tubes including 2 cooler tubes. Those two tubes got left off our paperwork that we had to take from the store, drive our car around the building, give it to someone else who helps load the tubes and drives to the drop off spot. We reminded the driver of the cooler tubes that were not on the paper work, drove 10 minutes to the drop point and realized we were missing one tube. The driver had to go all the way back while we waited at the river. I don’t think this was his fault, it seems their process could be streamlined to set them up for more success.

i wanted to write a comment regarding my recent experience with Big Bear Adventures. I have to tell how delightful and relaxing my tubing on the river was made. I was extremely impressed with the hospitality that I received throughout my working with all of your staff, from check-in, to payment, and to transport as well. This was exactly what I needed at this time. The timing, I am sure was a bit hectic, as my visit occurred during the 4th of July holiday. However, you staff showed the greatest of patience and professionalism throughout.
As I shared more than once with your staff, I can't wait to recommend you to my friends and colleagues in Ohio. As I said to them, I will share:

Our first time winter river rafting, and our first excursion with Big Bear Adventures. A great experience! We were a bit early to check in and Patty, one of the owners, greeted us. She was super friendly and since we have never been to Indian River, she had all sorts of recommendations for us.
Our river guide was a local, and was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The trip was about an hour and a half of river time which was perfect. The river is beautiful and so peaceful in the wintertime. We even saw two majestic bald eagles, and a merganser.
Dress WARM! It was 7 degrees when we went. We were in full hunting gear and layered underneath. My face did get a bit cold- even with a balaclava- but it was worth it. So glad we did this! A great experience. 🥰

Had an absolutely blast with Isabela today on our winter rafting. And yes I said WINTER rafting. We had beautiful weather and scenery! Isabela was super friendly and educated us on a lot of local stories/history. Definitely will be coming back for summer adventures! This is a must do.

Great experience going down one of our favorite rivers in the mitten. Seeing the Sturgeon during winter was pretty magical! Our guide Raph was awesome and hilarious. Got us through some slim spots during their coldest run of the year yet. We loved how beautiful the scenery was, the great people and another adventure from Big Bear Adventures!

Over this last weekend we did the Winter Rafting led by Tanner and Leo and had an amazing time! It was such a peaceful time. The guides were a joy to have for traversing the fast flowing river. I highly recommend this for any wondering nature lovers.

Family putter golfing was a blast! The kids loved it. We will definitely be back next year with the grandbabies!
Massive water park inside a resort featuring slides, a lazy river & children's pool.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Midweek wasn't the least crowded and the price wasn't extravagant either. Great section for smaller kids, with fountains and shallow pools to splash in. Lots for the big kids too. Four bigger slides, the surfing wave and a nice arcade.
Amy Stevens — Google review
We arrived at 1105 and had a short wait to get inside. The park was perfect for our 2.5 year old. The lines for the slides were minimal. The food was what you’d expect from a water park. The life guards were polite and plentiful. The restrooms were clean and the towels were always available. The chlorine wasn’t overwhelming like other parks we’ve been to. The only “issues” were the other patrons inattentiveness and the occasional rudeness. We would definitely come back.

Went to Avalanche Bay for our youngest son's birthday, and even though the main dropout slide was still down, we still had a good time. The place was clean, and the guards were attentive but not overbearing. My wife got in free b/c it was Mother's Day, so that was nice. Would recommend it since there really aren't too many indoor parks available in N. MI just plan on arriving early to get a decent parking spot! Well done, Boyne!

Amazing indoor water slides. There are a bunch of great slides for the brave and all very different. The spaces for the younger kids isn't as great but good enough.
They must be short on staffing now. One guy was hustling his butt off to send people down all of the slides at the top of stairs. The food counter had just one person taking orders or handing them out and was slammed so that was very slow. Food that was ready sat there waiting to be handed out for over 10-15 mins.
A little cold on the food side of the building. Better on the other end by the hot tubs.
Great water park really just marred by short staffing.

Strictly talking about the Waterpark, nothing really stands out in terms of slides and such. Having the surf wave is a huge boon and really fun. It's an average indoor Waterpark. What separates Avalanche Bay from other places I've been is the life guards. Not only were they attentive, but they were professional and friendly. They were everywhere and I felt confident in letting my kids go about without my supervision, and that my kids would be safe. They were helpful and helped all my kids learn to surf and such. The lifeguards are what make this place great.

Really fun place for the family! There are a lot of fun rides, the play structure for the kids is amazing (2 entry points, ready to watch the kiddos).
Food prices are a little rough, however the loaded waffle fries are awesome and the drinks were very good.
Highly recommend, probably the best waterpark we've been to in Michigan!

Where do I start! If you're like me and research everything and the tickets are still in your cart, CHECK OUT NOW! Lol it's worth every penny! We went from noon till 8pm and we had fun the entire time! We didn't even make it to the arcade! I lost my glasses in the lazy River and when I tell you the staff went diving! They put on a 3 hour search and found them for me! I was so grateful I can not begin to tell yall! Ther was a bottomless bucket of towels! Never a wait for rest rooms. The Bar,,,,Rides,,,and snack shacks were busy. But when I tell you the staff had the lines going! We waited no more than 10min for anything! I will be back a few times this year! Jacuzzi, kiddie pools, we found seating right away. Do not listen to the negative reviews. This water park is exactly what it should be! WET...BUSY...SPLASHY FUN AND WORTH EVERY DOLLAR🤸🏾♀️

Clean wonderful place! If your child is 48-52” note that their 48” sign at the bottom and measuring post at the top for the tube slides is off by quite a few inches and they won’t be allowed to ride. Two other fun slides they can enjoy and my littlest enjoyed the toddler area.
Bri Dixon — Google review
My toddler loved it! I.. as a 38 yr old enjoyed the slides haha. Spent about 4 hours there. Couldn't get him out of there!

We come to BM every year for our sons birthday. We always have the best time! The staff and rooms are great! Clean and has everything you can imagine on site! Would recommend to anyone!!

Disappointed!!! We heard this was a largest water park in Mi. The lighting is dim, the air hurt our eyes from chlorine! Even before we got into the cold water! They aloud high school age boys to throw balls at each other in the little kiddos pool! Hit our 1 year old in the head with a ball! Not as much to do compared to other indoor water parks!!! Anyone can walk right in there, they don’t check to see if you have a tickets!!! Bathrooms/locker rooms not clean! Will not go back!

Nice room. It wasn't cleaned well when we arrived. Water park bracelet on the floor and the dishes were spotty. The kitchen table had grime and crumbs on it. Outrageous prices at stores and eateries. I know it's a resort, but dang.
Jason — Google review
Loved this place, it was so fun!
Only reason i didn't give 5 stars is bc they really need to make the kiddie pool a little more inclusive to learning walkers.. and not only have 1 big slide with 3 mini water fountains.
And bc this place needs WAY MORE seating. Considering how busy this place was (bc they're only open 3 days a week) and how pricey the tickets are there should be guaranteed seating for at least 2 ppl per party of 5.

For the high cost and the great quality of the rest of Boyne Mountain resort, I’m shocked that this has good reviews. The waterpark does not look as nice as the pictures. It is gross, outdated, and so so cramped. Everything is on top of each other with very little walking space. There is not a single inch of this place to relax - one hot tub is full of kids, a chaotic short lazy river, and the only sitting places are a couple chairs scattered.
If you are staying here and need to entertain your kids and $50/person doesn’t mean much to you then sure. I would never drive out of my way for this waterpark, there are so many better ones like Kalahari.
Andria W — Google review
It’s alright for a small indoor park in tiny town USA. If we’re going to say that the best water parks are 5 stars it’d be hard to give this one more than 3. It’s just very small and compact. You can run through everything they have in about an hour. So you end up paying resort prices to do the same 6 things all day or float in a circle on the miniature lazy river that mostly runs under the slides. It’s clean well presented. The attractions they do have are fun. Most of the life guards are young kids that look like they partied hard the night before / on the way to work & I wouldn’t fully trust their attention to detail if I brought little ones here.

We took the kids to Avalanche Bay on a Sunday. It wasn't to packed. The kids had a great time. I even did a few rounds of going down the water slide.

This place!!!! It’s so much fun. I don’t even have kids!
Just kidding…I have three. Their ages range from 4-14 and they all had a blast. The lodging has a lovely Scandinavian vibe and everything is well made. We will return; it was a wonderful family getaway.

We took our son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren here and had a great time. A very well run operation. Plenty of towels. The staff was helpful and kind. The food and drinks are expensive, so be prepared.

Was am amazing experience. I have a 3 year old and he had so much he could enjoy!! They offer life vests if needed which I thought was great!! Life guards were always patrolling and there wasn't a moment I couldn't see at least 1 in my view. Prices were very reasonable for the amount we had to do. Highly recommend
Vanessa Sanda — Google review
Everything was great except for when I was on the Rip Zone a bunch of kids were laughing at me. Life guards need to stop them instead of also laughing. Oh well I'm pretty sure everyone is just jealous of how rad I looked shredding it up so whatever. Also slushies at the snack shack are super yummy.

Avalanche Bay offered so much fun for my 12, 13, 16, and 18 year old. Many slides and activities to do. Several water slides, a pool with basketball hoops and a bunch of activities, a surfing thing, lazy river, a couple hot tubs, a huge activity tower with lots to do, and a little kid area. Lifeguards. All the safety things.
Positives: It really is a great place to go for kids of all ages. Its well kept and clean. My kids had a fantastic time and kept them very busy.
Negatives: I feel it's pricey. If you've ever been to Cedar Point or Great America...during the "on" season its similarly priced with not nearly as much to do. But...if you go during a day thats 20 to 30 dollars=worth it.
GET THERE EARLY. Lots if seating but definitely not enough to accommodate everyone there. Same for the lockers in the locker room. They were all taken when we got there with no alternatives. So...no seats, no lockers. The locker rooms were quite a mess because of this.
THE FOOD: Although there are several restaurants in the resort, they do have a little Cafe eatery in the water park. By 2:30 they had run out of most of their menu (no pizza, garlic, bread, or chicken tenders). They still had hot dogs and cheese curds. The prices are horrendous $6.50 for a hot dog. The pizza price was decent but not available. We were able to go to a nearby pizzeria and order pizzas to go. However...we went during the peak ski season so the wait at any other place was awful.
All in all the things that sucked were adult worries and my kids had no idea. They had a great time and it was worth it.
Just...get there EARLY.
Kara Courtney — Google review
Just a day trip with the kids.
Our first time there, and it was excellent!
However, I just wish they had a family changeroom. I'm a single father with 2 young daughters. Instead, we had to wait for a family washroom to change in. It is what it is... we made it work.
Dan Leduc — Google review
Not a whole lot for adults, the waterpark passes themselves are expensive for the amount of other things you have to pay for while there. Realistically, the passes should be like 30 dollars considering that's about all it's worth. Friendly staff. Locker rooms were sopping wet and crowded, should at least squeegee the floors every once in awhile. Especially with all of the kids running around. Waits weren't too long for slides, only 2 slides running but overall, decent experience. The room was almost 240 dollars. The couch squeaked all night long. Room felt very dated.
Rockelle Romano — Google review
It was okay. We got the 30% off deal for a day pass before spring break, but I would have been highly disappointed if we'd paid full price (~$260 for 4 people). Definitely needs some updates as you can see paint peeling off in several places. It was mostly clean when we first got there at opening time, however no one keeps up on anything that we saw, I had a clump of someone else's hair stuck on my ankle at one point. Lots of hair and food pieces on the floors. Highly suggest water shoes because of this. Locker rooms were filthy, disgusting, and you can't use your own lock, you have to pay for a locker.
It's nice that they have two medium sized water slides for younger kids, that don't empty into a pool at the end. The large water slides were fun, they just didn't have the one running that we looked forward to using (the toilet bowl one).
There's a good sized area for smaller kids to play safely in.
The water is too cold and the chlorine was harsher on our eyes than most places we've been.
A lifeguard whistled and yelled at my husband for having our 5 year old on his shoulders in the basketball pool (he was the only thing between her and all the teenagers throwing basketballs).
There's not really a pool adults can enjoy, only one with lots of basketball hoops where kids are playing. Which leaves the lazy river being the only place adults who can't use waterslides can enjoy.
It says it's the biggest indoor water park in Michigan, however I don't see how it's any bigger than Great Wolf or Soaring Eagle they all look the same. Definitely not worth the full price, if you get a discount it's worth the kids being able to do something different in the winter.
We won't be back anytime soon.

My family only visited the water park, Avalanche Bay, we did not stay in the hotel. The water park was okay. The stairs going up to the slides were painted gray and black, and it made it a little weird to walk up... they should maybe have a brighter color on the edge of the step for safety purposes. It didn't seem like there was enough chlorine in the pools. There was an odd background smell across the whole water park that smelled like a lack of chlorine and almost like a mechanical oil issue? The area for the kids, the big fort, was good overall. Again, there are a few safety issues with one area that is a wooden bridge that was SUPER slippery that they had rubber rugs on, but they really should come up with a more permanent solution...the rugs didn't cover the entire bridge and were slid down themselves a little even. There were also a few different step areas in the fort that were a little raised that if you're not careful and picking up your feet enough will trip you, or potentially hurt the bottom of your foot. The locker rooms as a visiting day guest were ok. I was really only SUPER concerned about the shower areas. I went in to shower off before leaving as I was a day guest, and there were little moths on my legs and body in the shower that were living in the shower, and the walls of the showers could use a good deep clean. We did enjoy the racing slides, the lazy river, and the big slides. We most likely will be back, but we may utilize the bathroom of the hotel lobby as that was quite a bit cleaner to the eye, and there were no moths in that restroom.

Cost way too much money to go in here. Website did not say much more than it needs to be saying way over cost that it should be in this park. I wouldn’t come back here again way too expensive for a little to do. not to mention, the food was way too expensive understand it cost a lot to run apart but the food was not the greatest and it was way too expensive
Nestled just three miles from Boyne Falls, Boyne Mountain Resort is a prime destination for ski enthusiasts. The resort features chateau-style buildings and alpine lodges, offering various accommodations including hotel rooms, villas, condos, and cozy cabins. In addition to winter sports across two mountains, the resort boasts ten golf courses for summer activities. Guests can also enjoy outdoor swimming pools, an indoor water park, a spa, and a fishing lake.
Went during the week! It was a lot cheaper, definitely come and plan to ski Wednesday - Saturday cause otherwise the slopes close at 4:30 PM (Sunday- Tuesday) versus 9:00 PM (Wednesday - Saturday). Obviously there are exceptions depending on the day. But It’s the pretty much the same price so you might as well get some more ski time for your money! Food accommodations are pretty expensive for my taste but there are other local places to eat and I’d recommend getting a room with cooking utilities. The basic room only comes with a fridge and coffee maker so you’re forced to eat out or order in. The facilities are nice, the pools and the hot tubs. Everything is well taken care of. The ski slopes are well taken care of. They do it right here. The only down side is the price but these are the times we are living in and I’m also more frugal than most! I thought it was a great deal for the most part! Will definitely be coming again!

Boyne Mountain Resort is absolutely beautiful! The Sky Bridge was stunning with all of the fall colors! Definitely not a good fit for anyone afraid of heights. The staff was incredibly friendly everywhere we went. You would definitely want to spend a day here otherwise it can be a little pricey if you're just going for a visit to the bridge. Highly recommend overall!

Absolutely give this resort 5 stars. Impressive customer service which started at check in with a friendly welcome and personal tour of the resort taking us to our room. Our whole experience with every member of staff we encountered didn’t disappoint - they were all extemely friendly and respectful. We stayed at the edelweiss building which was just remodeled at the end of 2022 and they did an amazing job. Felt like we were at a 5 star resort and have already decided to re-book next year.

What an excellent experience! Everyone was really nice and helpful, my only gripe is that our room was full of mold around all the corners, around the window, I have a violent mold allergy and figured even if we changed rooms there's a high chance it would have been the same. The worst part is, is that they almost certainly will not treat it properly. Other than that, it was such a great experience and had the best time ever

The water Park wasn't as fun as Great Wolf Lodge, but one of the slides was out of order. Still an awesome park. The staff is very friendly and laid back. As long as you're being respectful, you can bend the rules and really relax. Bonfire pits for marshmallows and even the guest were friendly. Great time.

We went to the Avalanche Bay water park and the family loves it. We have 3 kids from crawling to running and it was a hit. They have a good amount of attractions for the different ages. There is a height restriction of 48" in the 3 tallest slides, but my kids were not disappointed with what they could do. Definitely becoming a favorite family vacation spot!

Visited for a conference. The resort is well-run, picturesque and the staff is very friendly. Everyone from the valet to the staff who were cleaning rooms and and public spaces went out of their way to greet us and ask if we needed anything. We were able to take a few walks on the trails around the property. Enjoyed the entertainment and outdoor fire pit in the evenings. Great stay.
Large, comfortable and very clean rooms. Lots of amenities provided. Had a great nights sleep!

Beautiful place, great rooms, HOWEVER, one star rating because.... made me come back THREE times to check in, room was FINALLY ready, after 5pm!!! Eight hours ago I arrived and stood in line for an hour before they told me to come back because room not ready twice, yet everyone else for the conference had their room. I had to keep going to my car to get my material instead of going to my room since i didn't have a room... like i said for 8 hours being there. They charged my card for room plus 100 before i got the key, 1 grand for 2 nights. Then they DOUBLE charged me when i checked out, so 2 grand taken from my account! (not to mention they insisted on us leaving by 9am so they can get the weekend crowd in). Boyne had no clue how to fix it, I showed them my bank account that they took MONEY TWICE, it locked my card (couldn't even get gas on way home) and they told me to call their accountant since nobody there that could help me. What???? HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH TAKING MONEY AND NOT GIVING IT BACK. Watch your money there, they will take it and not give it back, double charging is the worst ANY RESORT could do. Btw, nothing offered for the inconvenience.

An amazing destination in Michigan! Bring your bike or E-bike and you’ll have a great way to ck out the area. Of course, rentals are always available too. The SkyBridge! It’s a must see-what an awesome engineering feat! The staff is so accommodating and helpful-don’t hesitate about the ski lift that takes you to the upper level, they’ll slow it down if you need an extra minute to depart. Hotel lobby is beautiful & welcoming! If you're there at the right time, you may find warm cookies waiting as you walk in! Little things count..., a lovely decanter of lemon-lime water, or cucumber basil water is right there for you if you're thirsty too. The food - absolutely amazing! Great hot breakfast buffet or order off the menu! You WILL enjoy your stay!

Just got back from a trip to Boyne Mountain and wanted to share my thoughts. Overall, it was a great time! The snow was fantastic, making for some great runs and enjoyable conditions. And the best part? It wasn't too crowded, so there was plenty of room to enjoy the slopes without having to deal with long lift lines.
However, I did have a bit of a frustrating experience with the lift lines. One of the operators making things more complicated than necessary, and the RFID readers were also not working properly. They didn't want to scan and caused delays getting up the mountain. It was a bit of a bummer, but the staff were doing their best to get everyone on their way.
All in all, though, I would definitely recommend Boyne Mountain for anyone looking for a fun day on the slopes.

Very nice courses, equally great layouts. We did have discounted greens fees for the Alpine, but still a bit pricey at $74 for aerated greens where the ball was bouncing all over. Played the Monument for $20 less and was in great shape and no aerated greens. The Monument is definitely the more difficult course.

Amazing Place, beautiful and a ton to do. The staff was very friendly and so accommodating. Super amazing place to spend with your family. Prices aren't too bad for the rooms, but I definitely wouldn't recommend buying much food and drinks there as they are very overpriced. Make sure to pack drinks for the room and snack. Wait times aren't long for any of the ski lifts. They have great views and the service is very nice everyone is kind. The best part might have to he the pool that's outdoors it's a very great experience. The indoor waterpark is also very nice. Not very big, but still a great experience, although they did say the water would be heated. It was very cold, and the food is very very expensive. 15 dollars for 4 tenders and a drink. No fries. Overall I highly recommend this place for a trip with a family or significant other.

Decent location. One million and two fees to just book a room. Front desk takes 40 minutes to check you in and finish paying for reservation. Rooms are expensive, dated and do not include water park passes. Door lock was very sensitive, my not even 2 year old could open the hotel door and walk out easily. Even with the top chain lock on, she could still easily open the door and smash her fingers. So that was a concern. We had to put a chair in front of the door. The view out the window is alright, nothing crazy. Nothing really even to see. Geese were all around the pond, the balcony was covered in bird poop.

A favorite for sure. While we were housed at Blue Green Vacation properties, they garnished us with free lift tickets and 50% off at local wineries for my mom and Aunt. The heated pool was amazing and was warmer than the hot tub. April is the 'off-season', but tons of skiing and boarding happening. The favorite spot was the SkyBridge, a must-see and do!
Alicia B — Google review
A lot of cancelled activities made our visit kind of a bummer. Ice skating and tubing were 2 activities we really wanted to do, both were cancelled. We had horseback riding scheduled and got a phone call as we were walking to the experience that it was cancelled. Three in our party paid for a full day of skiing only to ski for an hour and a half due to slushy snow that made it hard to ski. The water park is over priced for what it is. The pool is super small and only available to certain guests who are staying in the main lodge, not the guests in other condos and villas. Other guests have access to the clock tower pool, which is outdoor only.
Hiking was fun, food was good. Staff was friendly. Overall, we wouldn't come back.

Always a wonderful atmosphere when we visit in the winter. The service is excellent and we enjoy walking around the grounds and enjoying a few meals in the on-site restaurants. The rooms are always clean. The soaps provided in the bathroom smell absolutely amazing. The mattresses always seem semi firm with comfortable linens. I wish they had some firmer pillows as they're down and completely flatten as you lay on them.
We've visited a few restaurants and have always enjoyed the nice atmosphere and live music when we can. Everything is very accessible and close to the main lodge if you're wanting to walk from your room to a restaurant or bar. The pizza is amazing from the trophy room.

This place is going DOWNHILL quick. Outdated except for the prices. Main chair broke down while overcharging for tickets. $55 when others are $30 end of season. Outdated bathrooms are beat up as are the shops and grounds. Old and tired vs Cabrefe and Crystal. Overcharging 🤮 Used to be great here but no more. Terrain park is good 👍

Northaire Resort and Pontoon Rentals offers peaceful lakeside cabins with kitchenettes and private boat docks. They provide loaner boats for guests to enjoy a refreshing swim in the designated swimming area. At their Clam Lake location, they have a selection of pontoon boats available for rental. Customers recommend trying out a tritoon boat when visiting Torch Lake sandbar, as it provides a smoother ride compared to the pontoon.

What a fantastic week at Northaire Resort! It was everything expected plus more! The views are wonderful & the location is a perfect home base for exploring the area! We visited Torch lake, Bellaire, Traverse City, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leland, Old Fishtown, Old Mission Peninsula wineries & all stops along the way (all an easy drive from the resort). The grounds are immaculate & the lake is just lovely! They offer boat rentals, canoes, etc! We rented the Knotty Pine Cabin & loved the retro feel! It was clean, had plenty of hot water for showers & everything we needed to feel at home! We were close to the lake w a nice screened in porch & private dock to watch sunrises/sunsets! The best part of our trip was sharing our vacation w our kitty! Very satisfied with our stay & can't wait to return! Bonus is the owners are friendly & accommodating!
Thank you Dale!

We had an amazing time out on Torch Lake! Reservations were easy, communication was great and the boat was really nice. Loren was super helpful, professional and explained everything we needed to know. The fishing was great, too. We will definitely rent a boat with Northaire again!

We had a great week at Northaire! Our cabin was very clean and cozy and Jake was a fabulous host. We also had a pontoon rental during our week and were able to explore Torch Lake and the Grass River. We even saw a few beautiful Torch Lake sunsets! We can't wait to come back next year!

We used Northaire Clam Lake location for a pontoon boat rental. Our pontoon was nice and new, I would recommend a tritoon for anyone going to Torch Lake sandbar as it was a little bit of a rough ride in the pontoon. The young man that helped us (possibly Jacob) was great! He was personable and responsive. He had everything ready when we arrived and was also waiting to help us dock when we got back. I would use this company again in the future!

We didn’t stay at Northaire, but we had a great experience renting pontoon boats for two days on Torch Lake! Reece was very friendly and informative! Coordination of pick up and drop off was easy and everyone on our trip had fun! Thanks a lot for making our vacation a great one!

We stayed at northaire resort in the main house + did a pontoon rental. We had a great week + really enjoyed our time on the water. They are also dog friendly which is a necessity for us. The boat rental was super smooth + Reece was wonderful when we had a small issue arise. We had a blast on the pontoon + I definitely recommend using their rentals to explore the lakes.

Exceptional service. Jake, the owner, helped coordinate a pontoon rental for me and my family, with a handicapped member of the family needing special considerations. He gave us more of his time than we expected, and moved the pontoon for us to ensure it was positioned properly for our family member to board the boat. He was also incredibly responsive with phone calls. Very friendly, and a great experience overall. We’ll be coming back for any future rentals, for sure.

We had a great time using Northaire pontoon rental. Easy to locate, great prices, and Loren, our guide, was AWESOME! She made everything quick and easy and was there for any questions. She gave us detailed maps and a rundown of the lake so we knew what we were doing. We will be renting from here again!

My family and I rented a tri-toon from Northaire for a day out on Torch. The boat was super clean and in perfect condition! Loren was very helpful and checked in with us the day before to confirm time and also the day of to make sure we could find the place and new where to park. She was very knowledgeable about the operation and features on the boat and also where to have good time on the lake. Torch lake is absolutely beautiful and worth the trip! We will definitely use them again for any future rentals.

We rented a pontoon for Memorial Day weekend and had a fantastic time! The pontoon was very clean and had plenty of seating for our party of 7. Torch Lake is absolutely beautiful and we were able to anchor the pontoon at the sandbar to eat and swim. Loren was who helped us with our rental and she was amazing! Super responsive and very nice. We will definitely use Northaire again when we come back to Torch Lake!
Shanty Creek Resort - Summit Village is a relaxed and uncomplicated hotel located within a vast resort that includes a golf course and ski slopes. The resort attracts novice and intermediate skiers, who can enjoy two distinct ski areas with a total of 53 runs, more than 60% of which are suitable for their abilities. Advanced skiers will also find challenging terrain at the resort.
Shanty Creek has always been a staple in my family life. It's a place I go to for family events like Easter, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving and other functions. Friendly staff as well as a quiet setting. None of the high energy crowd you get from other resorts. Here you can actually relax without feeling like you're being rushed. Sitting on a hill, you get a great view of Lake Bellaire as well as view the woods below. The lodge maybe old but it's charming with features you don't see anymore. The grounds are well kept and there is plenty to do all year round.

We have stayed many times and always enjoy it! The area is lovely, the rooms are big & spacious.. our balcony looked out over the ski hill, which was fun to watch! We had a king room with a fireplace, which was lovely in the evening. There was a huge jetted tub in the bathroom. Only thing I’d like to see them get some new beds and full size pillows. The bed was a bit squeaky and those tiny square pillows drive me bonkers! Overall, a great place to stay.
Julie Rowse — Google review
I upgraded to a deluxe room. It was dated and we had an ant problem. The water in the jet bath turned orange after the 1st use. The filter on the furnace was filthy dirty. The filter was replaced and they tried to take care of the ants but there were too many.

Stayed for 4 nights over Christmas New Year break 2022. Even though temps hovered around freezing, they did a good job keeping the slopes in reasonable shape for skiing. Love skiing here because it never feels crowded, wait times for lifts are always pretty short.
Rooms are nice and hotel is well kept. The one thing I'd like is if they could work on venting the gas fireplaces to the outdoors. I'm not a huge fan of carbon monoxide and it's a little silly to have to open the patio door if you want to run on the fireplace.

There is a hotel. The rooms are around $260.00 per night
We are RCI members so we are staying in a condominium in a wooded area. The resort is on Torch Lake. The biggest attraction is three golf courses. There are also some restaurants and shops. It is near other interesting towns the closest being Bellaire, MI.

Love the location. Great place for a weekend getaway. Options to golf, snow tube or ski depending on the season. I had a balcony off the room which was delightful! I came here for a conference. The food wasn’t great for the conference but the rest of it was wonderful

The rooms are always inviting and have beautiful views surrounding you. The Lakeview Hotel's jacuzzi suites are amazing!!! The tub is giant and centered in the room . Most rooms have a balcony. The bathrooms are very roomy and have nice showerheads. They also have in room full size coffee pots and mini refrigerators.

We just stayed in one of the condos through the hotel in Trappers Lodge and it was a DUMP. Highly doubt it’s been throughly cleaned in quite some time.
Beds had no mattress pads or pillow covers and they were filthy. Beds desperately needed to be replaced and both sunk in the middle. Lock on door was very finnicky and did not work well at all.
Furnishings were very dated and run down. Had two TV’s both did not work.
For a three night stay, we paid close to $2k for a one bedroom and one room place and have actually paid less to a two bedroom place that was clean and updated in Breckenridge.
While we loved our time skiing, this place was absolutely disgusting and I would never stay here again.

Staff is fantastic, very accommodating. The room was very clean and spacious. We had a balcony, which was nice. We were there for a special occasion and it could not have gone better. My brothers room did smell of cigarette smoke but out of eight or so rooms we had, that's not too bad. The pool was not clean. I would not recommend the breakfast buffet. Everything was cold, the pancakes were crunchy, the eggs tasted like styrofoam, biscuits and gravy tasted like flour water, etc. If you want to pay $20 for bacon, go for it, that was good. We had a good time.

Was there for a conference. Stayed in one of the King rooms at Summit Village. It was like staying at my grandparents house. Everything is extremely dated, down to the push button microwave..like actually old school push-in, push-out buttons and an electric stove with crank adjustable mechanical clock. All the switches are in almond, the jacuzzi tub has been thru years as well, which is also in almond color. Shower door would not shut due to the hinges being worn out. It was like this before at our stay for another conference several years ago. They need to spend money on updates and basic maintenance. Staff was outstanding all the way around the block.

Was here for a conference in fall 2023. Location is amazing and the colors were excellent. Some updates recently but still a very dated resort complex.
Andrew Jameson — Google review
I stayed here for a conference and the water went out while I was staying here and no one was able to take a shower. The building decor was outdated and hallways were claustrophobic.
We were just passing by and decided to stop. I picked up some potatoes, apples, donuts.
OMG, they have rows and rows of bushels. All types of apples. They have squash, pumpkins, Indian corn, garlic cloves, peppers, tomatoes, and mums outside.
Inside the little store is packed! You can get sluced meat and cheese at the deli. Giant pickles! There us an array of baked goods. Apple pie, blueberry pie, pumpkin pie, cookies of all kinds. Cherry donuts, cinnamon rolls, too.
Carmel apples, licorice, jars of jam, and more.
There is a small refrigerated section with milk and other items.
There was so much to take in that I am sure I am forgetting a lot.
And... do not be shy, sit in that giant chair out front, and take a picture.

Beautiful place, lots of items to choose from. Excellent selection of fruit and vegetables, decorations and flowers are a bit higher priced for me personally. Most of the staff are helpful and very nice, a few (one person specifically) could work on the condescending tone in her voice and sneer on her face, it almost changed my mind for my very expensive yard decoration purchase.

Family-run museum featuring a variety of North American wildlife, plus a theater & gift shop.
Call Of The Wild was a great experience for my son and I! The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The self guided tour of the museum was really fun, and my son had a blast. The gift shop has plenty of stuff for all ages. They gave my son a free sample of the fudge of his choice, which he loved so much! If you're in the area, and have time, this is a great stop with family that is very well priced! My son and I only paid 7.50 total because he's 3, which is a great price! I highly recommend Call Of The Wild!!

The ladies were helpful and pleasant during our visit, showing us everything the store and museum had to offer. The museum was really neat and the displays were very well done. We always have a great time when we come to visit Michigan and this is a spot that we hit when we come back up every time. The business is family owned, passed down from generations. The main attraction is the different animal displays throughout the building. There's also a scavenger hunt that you can do as you walk through, which adds a little more fun to the displays. There is a gift shop where you can get clothes, boots and items for your house. You can also buy fudge and it's delicious. We always end up with a pound of fudge before we leave. This is a great place to come at any time of year.

Perfect place to go with kiddos ready to learn! There are many exhibits and they all include information about the animals. There is a gift shop when you first enter the building. We always buy our boots from here, they are real leather and absolutely beautiful. Their fudge is great!! On the side of the building is mini golf as well as go-kart racing! If you are passing through, or even living in Gaylord, this is definitely a nice spot to bring the family. They occasionally have free museum events which is amazing!

It is good for your first time and for kids. But I think they need to upgrade and have more interaction. The cost doesn't fit the adventure.

I had an amazing time at this museum! Wonderful stories, beautiful artwork, incredibly informational, and very engaging. The animal scenes were fascinating and I learned so much about Michigan and its wildlife. I’m looking forward to going back with friends one day; I went on a solo adventure for my first time and had a blast. It was cheap to get in ($7.50 adult) and I stayed about 2 hours to take my time and enjoy… but you could definitely get through the exhibits in 45min-1hr. Overall great experience and would definitely recommend for all ages.
I visited in February on a Tuesday around 1pm. I was the only one there when I arrived and the staff was lovely! They were all incredibly nice and helpful.
I also wanted to note for parents and individuals in need of assistance that they do offer strollers and wheelchairs for their guests!
For children they have a discovery section with interactive, stimulatory actives, a room with a wildlife film playing (& children’s music), and with most animal exhibits they include buttons that will play sound effects! I can’t remember the children’s prices but I know under 5 was free. For locals and local families you can also purchase a yearly pass for like $15!
The gift shop was awesome too.
I included some photos I took to help with visualization, but if you have the opportunity to go you absolutely should!

We went for the go karts and had a blast. My grandson didn't have quite as much fun because his cart didn't have enough oomph. The lack of speed took the fun out of it for him. The young man there took time to explain everything to my 11 year old granddaughter. She was terrified but ended up loving it. Overall, it was a good experience. For $8 each, it's cheap fun.

Large nature park featuring a herd of wild elk, which can be viewed from inside your car.
The animals seem to be well taken care of. We have been visiting for over 10 years now regularly. They have a lot of elk, fallow deer and sometimes we see turkeys. We love this time of year because the elk have babies and their antlers are still in velvet.

GREAT PLACE for anyone - especially younger set, little kids to 30's, to see Elk and white deer up close.

We love stopping by Gaylord's City Elk Park to see the elk, and do it EVERY time we're in the area. They're are a lot of them, and yes, they are beautiful! The have a huge fenced in area to roam in so may not always be visible, but it's definitely worth trying, as it's a quick and easy off/on stop from I-75. We've been stopping for years to see these beauties, and only missed them once. Gorgeous and Beautiful! (10-26-2021)

I'm so impressed that we were able to walk right up to the Elk and say hi! The kids were amazed with how huge they are! The sign said no feeding them but the kids did pick dandelion leaves and fed them through the fence. One of them was so nice and gently took the leaves!

A must-see if you haven't had much exposure to elk before. There is a cart with food to bring them near the fence line so you can get fairly close to the wild herd. There is a nearby business, but the park itself has no amenities.

So amazing to see! Tucked behind a depot, takes a little searching. In the fall you can hear the males “bugle”, which is honestly the weirdest and coolest nature thing I’ve seen 😂 they don’t like cameras but this lady was following me around so I snapped a couple and she didn’t seem to mind. No feeding them though! I think it makes them a little aggressive. Awesome experience! Free of charge too!

Free, fun park where one can see part of a herd of Elk both up near the fence and far afield in part of the 60 acres they have to roam. Best place to see a variety of Elk up close. 3rd time there, won't be our last.
Great place to camp. Water is beautiful and just wonderfully relaxing. No water hookup so if camping come prepared with a full tank of water. Electric is available at sites.

It was kind of chaos from the get go at this park...they didn't have our reservation in their computer, so had to start all over before getting our site. The check-in girls were super helpful and sweet to help to get us all set up though...sooo thankful for that!!! Our site was really big and right at the top of the Boardwalk going down to the beach. Interesting that you share your electrical box with your neighboring sites though but it worked out fine. You get a nice firepit and picnic table at each site. Lots of huge trees all around campground. Beach for the most part was nice and went of forever with really nice sand. Lots of picnic tables and benches to sit at if your not in the water. They have a nice Pavillion/Store too to buy ice cream, other treats and supplies at. Also Firewood to purchase for $7.00 and Ice for $4.50. Not the best scenario for fishing from shore at this place, very shallow but people were catching small sunfish. We had a good crowd around us at our site location so we were thankful for that! If you want peace while staying there come at the beginning of the week but weekend are crazy and a bit loud there. We thought it was fine camping there but think we will try somewhere else next time in this area.

We have been going to this park for 5 generations. We love this park, but it is time to upgrade this park. It is in desperate need of a playground for the kids. The sites are not level, no grass , and lots of tree roots. It's somewhat difficult to menuver your rv threw tight spaces. The north bathrooms need upgraded along with the dump station. They have improved the water fill on the check in side that is very nice, and the check in progress is good. Everyone is friendly. We love this park and will continue to camp here. I just feel the state could improve on this park.

We’ve camped here many times before, but this time it was just a one nighter. We got the last site available, because we booked it only a few weeks in advance. So, being the last site a available, it was very rooty, and un-level. Just something to keep in mind if you are a tent camper…the lake is gorgeous at sunset, and there are many beaches along the lake accessible from the campground.
Also, you share electrical box’s with your neighbor, so every two sites. If you don’t have an extension cord, then you probably won’t have power, because it’s quite a distance from your camper to the box.

The campground here in lake. We're very enjoyable. I like the fact they actually had a store that served at least hot dogs and pizza. Although a little bit on the steep side it was good for a lunch. We had eight people and only spent $30. The service staff did an excellent job. Overall, if you're coming here during the summer, it's a great place to go. The beach is sandy. It's Sandy in the water. It's shallowing great for small kids and the water is just fine for cooling off. Come yourself. Take away your own opinions and have fun.

We camp here every year! Beach is huge and there is a second one if it gets too crowded. The sites are mostly good sizes, be careful tho there are a few that have a TON of tree roots through them and make them almost inhabitable. Nice to have an ice cream shop. Only thing that could make it better is full hookup. North end bathrooms could use some updating too.
Michelle Miller — Google review
First time visiting. This is a beautiful park and I will defiantly be back. Next time we will bring the kayaks as they have the perfect lake for it. The showers are the only thing that needs to change. I'm all for water conservation but other posters stated they were not kidding when they said that there is NO water pressure. The bathhouses and bathrooms were clean and well maintained however.
Alicia Corbat — Google review
First time tenting in this state park. Lots of trees which is great for putting up hammocks. Had a decent view of the water even though we didn’t have a water side site. The north end of the park definitely needs an update on the bath and showers. Clean but outdated for sure. The south end of the park has the updated bathhouse and restrooms which were nice. There is a camp store on the property owned by the dnr but rented by a third party. You can get firewood, ice and miscellaneous items there. There is also a party store across the street you can get firewood from as well. You are on a main road into Gaylord so there is lots of traffic noise. It does die down later at night. Also you are on the train tracks and they do come through. Only heard one in the four days we were there. Overall, I would recommend and we will be back!

Great park, nice campsites and a great beach. The campground is nice, several campsites have water views. The paths all have good views and beach access. The beach is large enough where it doesn't feel too crowded when there's a bunch of people. There is an area where boats can beach without being mixed in with the swimmers.

Super cute little State Park, only 5 minutes off I-75! The lake is clean and clear and there are plenty of places to relax. Highly recommend as a picnic stop!
Sprawling park land covered in old growth forest features rolling hills overlooking AuSable River.
If you are a avid fan of forests then this is a great state park to visit it has a beautiful area it's a beautiful area of old growth forest of which many are old pines that are just fantastic great place to take pictures if you are a landscape photographer and a great place to have is great place to have some solitude. In the Winter the pathways were quite icy so probably not a great place for older adults or young children but I'm sure in the summer it is perfectly fine not aware of other facilities only visited the old growth forest while visiting.

Serene…there’s just something majestic about the pine trees and walking where you feel like you’re completely alone yet with friends in nature. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. The bridge crossing the river is out of order but otherwise worth a hike. We had a little picnic and just enjoyed walking the trail with lots of cute mushrooms hidden along the way.

Nice place to camp. Quiet and polite campers. Visitor center had lots of info. Nice hiking trials inside and outside the park. No cell phone service for Verizon which was actually nice. Very clean showers. Only 1 dump station.

Hartwick Pines is a really nice state park campground! Many of the sites are large, have level asphalt pads, are wooded/full-shade, and are very secluded. Some of the sites are full sun/partial shade but the draw to them is they are pull-through.
The showers and bathrooms were always clean and I noticed employees there frequently checking and cleaning them.
It was very quiet on the weekend we stayed there even though it was fully booked. The only sound complaint is of the extremely loud, low-flying helicopters going to the air force base nearby. Four or five flew over during the duration of our stay.
The only other complaint is that there isn't really a beach area or place to go fishing. Also, the park is very sprawling and expect to drive 5+ minutes to get anywhere inside it. The paved trail through the old growth forest definitely made up for it though! That in itself is worth a visit.

When we stayed at the campground, it was before they really opened up for the season. Unfortunately, we had wild fires while we were there. We didn't get to see inside the buildings because they were closed by the time we got there. Bathrooms were clean. Sites were semi level. Over all I say it is a nice park. The lakes were nice and looked like they would have good fishing.

This is another place where I spent some serious summer time as a child. Lots of great memories. Was disappointed as I couldn’t find a concession store but I thoroughly enjoyed the many trails. Most were completely empty on a beautiful day in May. Some were still quite wet but the solitude and beauty were exactly what I remembered. Tall pines. Logging camp history. Chapel in the Woods. All good.

Awesome!! We walked the trail from the logging camp on the first loop. About 3 miles. Nice trail for walking or biking. Plenty of hills for a good challenge.

Very nice campground, bathroom and shower facilities are the best I have seen. We took our two grandchildren which us why I rated. 3, the playground is unusable which I was not aware of when booking. The hike to the Glory and Bright lakes was very nice, however I did not realize when I booked there is no swimming at the campground or these lakes you need to drive to other state parks nearby. The museum, chapel and memorial building were great although more for adults than kiddos.
A very nice place for adults and a couple days with kids, not a full week.

It's probably the most beautiful place I have ever seen

This is a must visit if you want a fun, easy and gorgeous hike/walk. The lady in the Memorial Building was amazing, so friendly and informational. We had the best time talking to her. She even had a fun interactive hand out to make winter hats! The walk/hike is easy and 90% paved and the non paved parts were flat. The historical part is so interesting. Very family, individual or couple friendly. You do have to have a pass to get in or a small fee.

Beautiful park. The cleanest bathrooms I've seen in a state park. Nice size lots. Wish there was more shade on the full hookup sites. Lots of shades on electrical only sites. Only downside - no cell service. Which could also be a good thing depending on how you look at it. 🙂
This watering hole offers beer, burgers & live entertainment in a cozy cabin-like setting.
Talley's is awesome! Great prices, delicious food. The service was okay. It wasn't busy when I went in so that was nice. They serve food until 1am which is fantastic! It's impossible to find anyone open past 9PM anymore. I wish I could come here all the time but I live 3 hours away. I had the Talley's cheeseburger, ranch potato wedges, and a grilled cheese and it was all under $20. Please keep doing what you're doing and everyone go to Talley's!

First…this truly is a nostalgic bar with an amazing burger and menu. It’s a “must visit” spot for sure.
Second…and even more impressive to me personally…is how the staff runs the place. With a packed restaurant, we came in with a group of 15 including kids. Talleys employees immediately pulled tables from around the bar to accommodate. Then, our order came out literally as fast as a Coney Island would be able to produce, even with everyone ordering a different thing and burgers cooked differently. I have no idea how they do it. Everything was perfectly as ordered.
It’s no wonder why it’s been such a success for decades, through a few different family owners and different generations. A+!

Have heard about this place for 20+ years finally had a chance to try it. Food was very good, burger is as was expected after all the hype. Seems like a locals hangout so don't be surprised to feel like your being treated as an outsider. Def a delicious burger tho.

The best bar burger in the north woods! Haven’t been here in a long time but it was as good as I remember. The wing ding basket was a great choice as well. The bartender was friendly and the locals were fun to hang out with at the bar.

Worst experience ever at a bar. One bartender was nice and the other was down right AWFUL. Locals in there are NOT welcoming AT ALL! They will call you names out of the blue and try to start fights. 10/10 recommended going to the hotel bar and grill across the street instead!!!! NEVER returning to this place.

If you're ever in Lewiston Talley's is a must. Get the burger with all the fixings. So damn good. Staff was cool. Everyone there is there to have fun. 100% friendly crowd. Oh and if your looking for precovid pricing this is the place for you. Very reasonable.

Really nice waitress and the burgers were delicious as always. I am an avid fan of chili fries and I would give their's a somewhat average score. It may be great on its own but not that great on the fries. Still giving the food a 5-star but had to bring up the chili fries.
Dave Dorobek — Google review
The burger is pretty good but you need to get the bun toasted or it will get mushy, messy, and fall apart in your hand. Drinks could definitely be stronger. Still an overall cool place.

It's an upnorth must! Small menu, just the basic burgers and fries. Great stop if you are on the trails for a ride or just passing through. Excellent beer selection and full bar. The service is fast and friendly and burgers are great. It has a whole in the hole in the wall atmosphere, but it is a destination you have to try!
Lakeside park with a swimming beach plus opportunities for fishing, hiking, camping & picnicking.
Words cannot accurately describe this beautiful place. Waters the color of the Caribbean, great camping, hiking and a gorgeous lake... you'll never want to leave. Just be sure to choose a site on South side of the lake, the North side is ok but only one restroom/shower up a hill and nowhere near the camp store.

Rented a mini-cabin here in middle October 2022. It’s a pretty, classic Michigan State Park! The Mini Cabin has electric heat which works well, a mini fridge, and a microwave. My only complaint is that there is no outlet on the exterior of the cabin so you cannot trickle charge an EV, for example. Not really an issue this time of year since there are many open campsites nearby but something to keep in mind if you’re driving here with an EV and plan to stay at one of the cabins.

North Higgins Lake State Park is stunning in autumn. The colorful forest and calm lake create a peaceful setting. The trails are well-maintained for leisurely walks, and there are nice spots for picnics. The facilities are basic but clean. It's a great place for nature lovers to relax in Michigan's fall beauty.
Raul O — Google review
Sooooo beautiful. Clear water (one of the clearer lakes I’ve been in Míchigan) and wonderful areas to relax for a while. There were some kind of pest caterpillars on the trees which fall over everything (also your belongings) but the place is fantastic and it’s worthy. Nice toilets and barbecue areas. Small but clean Sandy (beach) to enjoy.

Definitely lived up to the rumors. This was quiet and tranquil. Great for a relaxing time. Not a party hot spot. Super quiet. Bathrooms were a little outdated but clean amd kept up. Breathtaking views of the lake and great kayaking/water access.

🌊🌊♥️♥️North Higgins is our favorite local lake so far! We drive 45 mins to and from; but we enjoy ourselves, every time! Our kids love to play in the beautiful, crystal clear, always cold, lake; than go dry off by swinging on the swings and playing on the play areas.
They have a very nice recreational area and permanent grills 🍖 🔥 setup around the beach area and wooden tables to set and keep your things nice and together! They have awesome rubber beach mats to make the walk through the sand down to the water easier on shoeless feet. 👣 👣 North Higgins also does half covered areas for get togethers, events, bday parties 🎉!
Additionally, they also offered canoe rentals. However, we haven’t yet had the budget for canoeing 🛶 yet, so I am not sure of the pricing options but it is listed on the trailer your rent them from.
👍👍 Nice public bathrooms! Which are accessible when the park is opened for the season; and are closed when out of season. They also offer a sand rinse-off area; so you can lessen the sand, you track back into your vehicle! 🚘 🏖️
Oh! And be sure to watch for those seagulls, they’ll steal your food; if they can get to it! 🦅 ( <—not an actual seagull, merely a dramatization, lol)
🛑 Due note: 🛑This park does require you to have the park pass you can purchase from them at $17 for the length of your plate time or from your local dmv at a discounted price when you renew your plates/tags/etc but gets your access to all the state parks! 🌲 🌲 🛝 Which is, awesome in itself! If you are a Michigan resident, you are unable to purchase a day pass. Not quite sure why it’s regulated that way, as we found it a bit odd, but we signed up for the pass with us being residents. Non-residents have the ability to purchase a day pass for a discounted cost.
Lastly, all in all, we love it and always enjoy our time there and leave refreshed, relaxed and sun kissed, not burnt! ☀️ See ya next North Higgins. Stay fresh to def!

Nice campground on the north shore of Higgins Lake. The area is heavily wooded, so most sites are shaded with mature trees. There is a beach, including a pet friendly area, with picnic tables and a playground. The two campgrounds also have playgrounds.
There are modern restrooms and showers that are clean and well maintained. A negative for some might be road noise as the campground is close to the highway. Also, there are no grassy sites due to the trees.
For those with boats, there is a boat ramp with cleaning stations and plenty of parking. They even have an area where you can store your boat if you do not have room on your site.
All in all, a very nice park that I plan to visit again.
Gil Flangeworm — Google review
I love this campground and beach! The sites on the side opposite of the road are much better, but they all are at the least super decent. The lake was close and perfect to swim and kayak, I'll come back!

Very family oriented. Kids had a wonderful time water was still a little cold but that's too be expected for memorial weekend. lots of ppl fun atmosphere, have a small stand that $ sells $ flotation devices and toys for children to play with. Not to bad of prices for us that forget to bring them.
Jeffrey Buck — Google review
Very clear water which stays shallow for nearly 100 yards out. If you want a safe swim place for kids, this is it.
The main beach is long and there are lots of shade trees. Only complaint is that it's a far walk from the car! If you are bringing lots of food and stuff down, definitely bring a cart to haul.
Yitz Pierce — Google review
Every year we get a little more disappointed. People get louder and louder and quiet time isn't enforced. The food truck is gone. Lots of dogs on the beach this year. The campground itself is nice and the bathrooms and showers have been very clean. Camp host does a craft for the kids. The trail to the lake is not lighted tho, make sure you have a flashlight!! Some rule changes mean you can't drop your kayaks off and park your car at the docks anymore. We may just day trip from now on.

Have camped here many times and always enjoy it. There are 2 mini cabins for those slightly less adventurous. The cabins have electricity, heat (for winter) a fan ( for warm weather, a mini fridge & microwave. The modern bathrooms with showers are nearby. Higgins Lake is a beautiful, clean spring fed lake that is perfect for little ones as it stays shallow for a great distance out. Nice picnic area, good fishing and nearby hiking trails. Give it a try.
Jeffrey Ganley — Google review
Words cannot describe how beautiful Higgins Lake is, which is why im adding photos with this review. The turquoise crystal clear blue water with white sandy bottoms is so calming for the soul. We love how peaceful the view on the lake from our kayaks was. The boaters were so respectful of kayakers and it was not over crowded on the lake or the beach. If i won the lotto i would live on this lake

I flew from San diego, California, to visit my best friend in her hometown of Roscommon, Michigan. From someone who grew up on the sunny, sandy beaches of San diego, I can promise you this.... It was by far the clearest and cleanest water I've ever seen. The trees were breathtaking around every bend. The water, all be it still cold from winter, was absolutely perfect. It was a literal breath of fresh air.

We are taking our new RV out on it shakedown cruise. We want to be relatively close to home in case we run into problems. Nicely shaded. Trees are a mix of pines and hardwoods. We are here midweek and early June, so we are not crowded. There is a nice beach area, and a dog beach for those who travel with their dogs, and boat launching area. Near by are rivers for canoeing/kayaking. There are also hiking trails in the park.
Buzzy camping park features 2 lakes with ample shoreline plus 700 acres of maple, oak & pine forest.
First time at south Higgins and planned this Halloween one 1 year ago. Site 83 is huge! Our family absolutely loved it! So many activities all weekend for the kids plus trick or treating was amazing! Park closed the roads down for the trick or treat making it really safe. Can’t wait to come back.

Horribly managed boat rental service. Rent one at B&B instead. I reserved a boat months in advance for a reunion. South store called me at 8:30pm on a Friday, when all my other options were closed, to tell me that my reserved boat was under maintenance and would not be available. They offered no other options or explanation. When I called back first thing in the morning to put my name on a cancellation list, the story changed. We now could not get our reserved boat because for over a month it has been on hold and slotted for new carpet to make it a pet friendly boat. They knew for a month and gave me a few hours notice. Ruined our weekend until B&B saved the day. If it is an important weekend for you, reserve elsewhere.

This is a good sized store close to the beach and the campground. It has several types of Tshirts, Swimming accessories, beach towels, Take away food like bread, sausages, snacks, sandwiches, icecream and beverages. There are several beach itesm to rent like Canoes / Kayaks at $10 per hour, Floating mats at $15 per hour and a few other items. They provide firewood too for the campers at $8 a bundle which is delivered to the campsite as this store is approximately half a mile away from the western loop of the campsite.

The showers at South Higgins were cold at 4:30 in the afternoon. No toilet paper in the ladies bathroom at that time. The bathrooms needed repairs and we're not very clean, yet workers are painting benches,3 on one bench? The workers ride around on gators going wayyyy too fast. There are kids and animals in the park.
Wilderness spot for nature-viewing walks, plus options for fishing, mountain-biking & more.
This is the second year in a row we have camp here. Love the walking bridge and the tower that looks out over at least 3 ponds. So many trails to go on and of course the fishing also. There at least 3 beaches to swim. If you are bored here it would be your own fault. So much to do. The restrooms are pretty clean at the modern campsites. Not sure about the outhouses. Haven't used those one since they are at the rustic sites.

Great place to spend time. It's big and there are so many lakes and trails plus the rifle River to explore you can't do it all in one weekend. Multiple camping style options and the rustic sites and campgrounds are nice. I don't believe the hands pump works at spruce also it's doubtful at ranch but there are potable pumps at Devoe and at the RV station on the way in . Vault toilets.... Nothing better or worse than other places but well maintained in my experience. No clue about Grousehaven modern because I never stay in the moderns if I can help it. They have maybe the best situation for cabins of any park I know of in the lower.
Be prepared to drive around a lot because things are really spread out. It's a huge place. Convenient store/gas/wood at the entrance across the road and you can buy wood at the park if they are open at check in.

This was my first time here and I honestly can't wait to come back. There's cell reception the whole time. We hiked the moderate trail and it was a killer workout. The water was warm and inviting. Most of the public area you can't have dogs but we went past the edge of the signs and we were fine. Everything is well marked, soothing, relaxing. I'd love to come back and spend a whole day here!

Such an under rated state park. It’s definitely one of my favorite places. Great place for kids, fishing, canoe/kayaking, swimming, camping, hiking and exploring. This is honestly a little hidden gem among Michigan state parks. The 3 rustic campgrounds in this recreation area are amazing!! I highly recommend Devoe or the Ranch due to the large more private sites. Devoe feels like you are camping in the forest while the Ranch is more of a field with trees in between sites. The modern campground (Grousehaven) is not quite as nice due to the sites being so small and on top of each other. Grouseheaven might be better if you need electricity and don’t mind the feel of an RV park. It also has a really nice modern bath house and facilities. However, I promise you if you stay in any of the rustic loops, you won’t regret it.

The Grousehaven modern campground is a great place to stay! The sites are large and mostly private (the ones on the outer part of the loop are, at least). We stayed on site 80 and liked having the woods right beside us. The bathrooms/showers were very clean and the beach area was beautiful. Hiking trails are within walking distance of the campground too. Definitely one of the nicer state campgrounds out there!

One of my favorite places, you can stay here for a week and never run out of things to do. Lots of trails to bike from easy to difficult, two track roads, rivers to kayak, warm clean lake to swim and Paddle Board in. Several rustic campgrounds with lots of space between sites, and one modern campground with 80 sites.
Shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores.
This is a nice little strip mall to come shopping to, but I like the fresh air going from shop to shop. I do miss a couple of the shops that they had which were Rue21 and the kitchen shop, and I don’t think that they had re-open the Ralph Lauren outlet either. But still nice to shop the strip and see what’s on sale.

This mall used to be full of stores and always busy. It lost a lot of businesses a few years back but I was happy to see there were 2 new shops open yesterday, with 2 more getting ready to open. I hope this is a sign of things to come.

🤔mhmm, it’s something to do in a small town. Not too bad. They just opened in July so I don’t expect it to be hit single however I could see it becoming one in the future. The bathrooms were extremely clean. There are also a few locally owned shops which is always a plus. There’s this really nice winery place here and the owner I think seems to be really sweet. She didn’t say much, only a high and have a nice day but the way she said it, sounded like she was genuinely happy we considered coming into her store. You don’t get those smiles often haha.

This place needs new ownership. There is so much that can be done to generate income for the businesses that chose the opportunity to try. It's not convenient to get to, at all. I get to see the back of the stores and their dumpsters before ever seeing the front entrance to the businesses. In my opinion, Applesbee's is the business that brings the customers into the outlet. Hope they get compensated for the advertising. But I have to say that the restrooms were very nice. I now understand how the budget was utilized.

Have come here often over the decades when in the area. Visiting family was not a good experience this last time
They claimed they couldn't push two tables together for all of us to sit together because then they couldn't properly serve us if they did and then the staff just passed our dishes down instead of going around our tables to give them to the appropriate person anyways
We told them the rest of our party were on their way and would be here in the next few minutes and they said that was fine and then they got into a fight with a member of our party saying they couldn't hold tables that there was another party on its way that they were holding the table for which obviously makes no sense
Then they messed up several dishes
The dishes they didn't mess up. We're all very good for the most part. Chili was flavorless and mostly water.
I can confidently say that myself and at least a few other members of my party will not be coming back again when we're in the area

The money you save not going there you can just get a room from the motel in the back and use there fire wood and have a cookout by the fire by your room and you can thank me later.

Absolutely beautiful work! Took the kids to see Shazam fury of the Gods so we could see all the work they did, and it did not disappoint. Anyone who has been in this theatre prior to the renovations should absolutely take the family to a movie here. Everthing looks great. The seats even have cup holders now! Restrooms are very nice, and prices are reasonable. I commend these 3 sisters for revitalizing an important part of Clares historic downtown. Just amazing!

I love the fact that it is an old antique that someone is keeping open so that the families of Clare and the surrounding area can go to the theater for a reasonable price. Love the Saturday morning special movies hoping to make it to one of those when we are up there.

Holy smokes, the theater was packed for the last night of "Sound of Freedom." The line outside was way past the Whitehouse & took till well past show time. There wasn't a seat left, including the balcony. They did hold the movie starting time so everyone could be seated. Great job in getting everyone in & seated Ideal Theater!
We booked a birthday back in Oct. by Faith. We had pedicures from Genise, Autumn and Rachel. It was so fun, relaxing and a lot of laughter. Genise even sang happy birthday! What a fun group of ladies. Even the ladies at the front desk. Our group was going to book another spa day after first of the year, but we decided on a different venue only because my granddaughter doesn't work there anymore:(

I’ve enjoyed getting my nails done here in the past, but just tried to book an appointment and the person answering the phone didn’t even offer to book me on a different day when my first and second choice days weren’t available. It was radio silence on the other end. Isn’t it customary to find another appointment for a client looking to book a service at your salon? Trinity, you may have lost a customer.

Received a gift certificate for massage, manicure an pedicure, the massage was awesome Crystal does a fabulous job, manicure an pedicure another story, saddest manicure an pedicure i have ever had, way over priced for having to come home and do my own cuticles rough edges, dry manicure, pedicure
heals are still rough , again the nail edges rough an terrible $125.00.I waited to have this done before my vacation 3.5 hours sitting in a chair. So I could go have it done right, manicure an pedicures are supposed to feel good well let's say this is the worst I have ever had Grade school kid could do a better job.
Massage I would definitely go back for.

I’ve been going to this Salon for the past year and had a good experience until I had extensions put in my hair. I have been working on my hair to go to what now is gray hair, but more of a blended gray. The hair stylist had recommended doing extensions. She said that she had been certified in doing extensions and is running a special and though with less coloring of my hair, this would be a good way of keeping it healthy and letting it grow. I have been coloring my hair since I was fifteen and felt that I’m at a point where I need embrace my 54 year old self and let it go natural. So after a whole lot of thought and consulting with my hair stylist I had agreed to do it. She had asked me about about how much maintenance I would like with my hair. I told her as less as possible. She showed me two different ways of doing extensions. K-tips and Weft. She said she does k-tips and loves them. She even commented that she trained her husband to put K-tips in her own hair. She showed me the K-tips that was in her hair and assured me that they are safe and less maintenance and they last up to a year. So we had set up an appointment. She was running a deal that she would charge only for the hair and installation was free. In Early December I had went in to get them installed. A week later they were falling out, taking my own hair with them. Made an appt.on December 23rd to get them removed. Then was told that they are safe and them falling out was due to natural shedding. Natural shedding does not happen a week after placement. Was talked into removing the lower extensions. Replaced them where it would look more natural and cut them down just passed my shoulders as agreed upon prior to installation. Around January 16, started falling out again. Called to make an appt. to get them removed. Unable to get in until February 5th. Made two appts. to get them removed as they were continuing to fall out. Both salons stated they are unable to remove them as they didn’t carry those types of K-tips or equipment and would not recommend to their customers because they cause damage. So over the past week they kept falling out and balding my head. I was in tears and ended up cutting the remaining pieces out to preserve what was left of my hair. DO NOT LET THIS SALON INSTALL EXTENSIONS. THERE IS ONLY ONE PERSON THAT IS ABLE TO INSTALL THEM AND HAD VERY LITTLE EXPERIENCE. K-tips are only good for 8-12 weeks depending on installation and hair. As they grow out they tangle no matter how much you brush your hair. SHE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT. FALSE INFORMATION PROVIDED. I lost a lot of my hair. Recommend going to someone more experience. It appears that many salons don’t use this brand or carry the equipment. They recommend using Weft and use minimal glue extensions for fullness due to damage to hair and scalp. See pictures below.

$50 “60 min ultimate manicure” was a 35min mediocre manicure. Started late & ended early with minimal massaging done.
Scheduling staff “didn’t think about it” and scheduled me for my hour float pod(u shower before & then float in 1000lbs of epsom salt) AFTER my manicure. Everything used to make my hands soft was washed away during the float.
Float pod was great!!!!!!! Highly recommend!

Very relaxing! The tranquility facial was just what I needed and my skin loved the customized regimen. Lacey did a wonderful job! My pedicure with the parrafin wax was worth the upgrade as my feet are now soft and ready for warmer weather, special thanks to Genise!! My view from the pedicure massaging chair is as pictured. Just gorgeous!! The food in the restaurant downstairs, called the Riverwalk Grill I believe, was delicious and so were their drinks! I highly recommend the BBQ chicken salad and a Chocolate Covered Raspberry martini, unfortunately not pictured. Can’t wait to go back!

I have been going to Oasis Salon for about a year & a half for manicures & hair cuts & have found it to be very nice esthetically with very friendly & professional staff. My daughter & friend went for pedicures this past week while visiting from out of town & came home raving about the great experience they had. I called the Salon the next day to thank them for providing the girls with such a good time. Highly recommend...

Got a 60 minute massage. The guy was very nice and professional. The massage was pretty average but still relaxing. They have a locker room with shower and they give you a robe to use during the service. There is a relaxation waiting room separate from the other waiting room. Front desk lady was very nice as well.

I always go to Lacey for all my pedis! She's great at fitting me into her schedule and I just had a small issue with my polish (on me not her) and she fixed it within a half hour of me telling her. Will always go to her for my pedis and enjoy her calming company during her services. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a great weekend. Bathhouse was always clean. Hot water. Campground was beautiful. Water and electricity. The help was friendly and very attentive to needs. Tubing was a lot of fun. Been camping at Whites every year for over 40 years. Never disappointed.

We had a great weekend! We stayed in the cabins. There was one bunk bed, small table with chairs, small refrigerator and it came with bedding. We did a 5 hour kayak trip and had our own kayaks. We changed our river plans a couple times and the ladies at the front were very accommodating. We had them take us to the drop off where they already had our kayaks locked up in a shed. The driver was nice and did a great job getting us there. The river was perfect! It was a Saturday and there were a lot of tubers so it was difficult to maneuver around them. If you don’t want your kids around cussing, drinking, partying people I would not recommend. As far as being at our cabins it was quite and relaxing but we didn’t have many people directly around us. The bathroom across from us was big and clean. It had quite a few showers and a few bathroom stalls.

I've been camping and kayaking here for 15 years. I've always had a great time. The only thing I think I can say that needs improvement is the bathrooms. Their extremely outdated, they've been the same since I first started coming here. I will say the management here (owners) are amazing. When I first started coming here, I was a minor with my family and friends. This was my dads favorite spot. July 2020, my dad passed away in his car at the campground from a heart attack. The campground didn't make me pay for my time there, gave me a refund for my kayak and a few weeks later I received a card in the mail from them expressing their condolences. I just want to say thank you for that. And I still come every summer! Love this place.

Pretty good experience. Had some concerns about conduct of some others on the bus ride back, as well as loud music being played until 12:30pm, but saw those in reviews, and anticipated something may come up. We had our five year old with us. Friends of ours have been using these guys for ten years, and we joined them this time. The store is well stocked, and reasonably priced. Camp sites are good size, and quality. Bathrooms were clean, but dated. The rafting experience was great. Good rafts, tied them altogether, and floated down the river. Pretty simple process.

We have been staying at Whites for almost 20 years now, our group has been as big 80 people and has been a blast ever year! The staff is amazing! accommodating, friendly and helpful...The office has a pretty great store too! The grounds are kept up well and the showers and bathrooms are clean. Prices are reasonable and our reservation has always been an easy process. The rules are pretty straight forward and not overbearing, like at other camps in the area. And Cliffs bar will deliver some of the best pizza in Michigan right to your campsite!!!! Just beware of the damn raccoons...they are fearless! LOL....Guess they just want to join the party!

Great and helpful staff. Call ahead to setup your group and get ready for an awesome time! I have done every route and can say that it is just as much fun alone as it is with your partner or large group. They can accommodate whatever you want to do. Very relaxed atmosphere on the water. The river varies in height and debt so watch out for those hidden swimming holes to take a dip and prolong your trip!

Before this visit, I had not been here in over 20 years. I don't remember the campground being as big as it is! They have a great layout here and can accommodate any group size. There are also cabin rentals, places for 5th wheel or travel trailers and tent sites too. It is set up in loop like sections/areas which gives you a private or more secluded feel, I think.
We have been going to the other nearby place, which we also enjoyed, but our recent visit to Whites was pretty fun!!!
Here, you start your trip at the campground and then exit the river afterwards and get bussed back to camp. The float down was nice and the river was busy which meant there were lots of fun people!

Whites canoe livery and campground is a fantastic place to stay and enjoy nature. Located on the rifle river, the views are great, the river is crystal clear and the wildlife is plentiful. There are powered campsites, showers and a store with a great variety of items for camping, food and drinks.
34,000 sq. ft. of slots & electronic table games with an RV park, gift shop & 24-hour cafe dining.
Visited for the first time this weekend. I like it better than Soaring Eagle. The rooms are very well kept, very spacious, and clean/comfortable. Even the shampoo/soaps that are given did not dry out my hair or skin. The room was huge and the bed was comfortable and the TV was high quality. I like how the casino isn't too large, so you won't loose your group too easily. There are no table games, just electronic versions. Lots of slots. If slots are your thing, you will love it here. Slots are all bright, clean and well maintained and pop machine area was clean as well and well kept during our stay. The food at the Landing and the Cafe in the back section of the casino were both DELICIOUS. I recommend the pizza from the cafe and the rye bread. From the Landing we had a variety of meals (burgers, pasta and salads) and all was amazing. We will return again for another fun night out. Staff was very nice as well and the hottub/pool was not busy and was clean and enjoyable. The fitness room was clean as well. Overall great stay!

If you haven’t been here in a while then you haven’t been because they have added a hotel and restaurants. There are still no live dealer table games which is why this place gets 4 stars, and the slot machines are pretty expensive for max bet ($5-$10). There was a golf cart shuttle in the parking lot. I do like that the air system works well in here, the smell of cigarette smoke is not bad at all like some casinos. Lots of military appreciation events.

I did not stay in the hotel. But the place is very clean and very maintained. It's not a bad little place. Two full service restaurants. One with a full bar with table seating. Moderate prices with great food. One cafe style. You can't go wrong with either of the three choices. One will fit your style and tastes. We ate cheap for 4 people, only spending $70. I had an open face prime rib sandwich at bar, which i highly recommend. The gaming floor only has electronic machines. So there are NO card tables! No black jacket, no poker, and no roulette. If you wanna play cards, this NOT your stop. But they do have every type of electronic push-button gaming machine you could want to play. The staff is very friendly and eager to help all patrons. You won't get this type of service in Vegas. They are very friendly. It's a hometown vibe. I would definitely go back SINCE I still have their money, for now. I'm sure they'll make it back from me, eventually, next trip.

BEWARE: Please be aware that they have a no return policy on ALL electronics, trolling motors, crossbows, tree stands and many other high dollar items. These items that can retail at over $3000.00 and are merchandised in fully outfitted impressive manufacturer displays are non refundable, no matter how soon you return, no matter that the item is still in the box. Also, you will only be notified of the policy once your receipt prints. I attempted to return an unused trolling motor and was notified at the return counter that ALL electronics and many other high dollar items are non refundable.
I am absolutely livid!!! The manager “Bob” informed me that he was not required to post an ALL SALES FINAL notice near the merchandise because it is printed on the receipt, there is a notice in the box, and he even told me that it is posted on the (trolling motor) manufacturers website. I was stunned. Firstly, why would I be at the manufacturers website when buying from a local retailer? Also, what good is a receipt notification and a notice INSIDE the product packaging? At the time these are available for review…. I’ve already purchased the item!
In my opinion….This is a predatory sales practice that is designed to take advantage of consumers. BEWARE!

Not much color for a garden
There is some great architecture with the bridges and canopy walks, but very little color and flowers for a garden. The canopy walk is very neat to explore with abstract art involved. You can walk over the glass corner or sprawl out over the nets. Be prepared to walk, this place is large and very spread out, so many sections to explore. Try to go on a weekday to beat the crowds.
Disappointed that there are not more flowers. There are plenty of tulips, but those will not last all season, so be prepared for no flowers if you don't go in Spring.

This was first time visiting, and I will definitely go again. I loved seeing all the butterflies fluttering around in the butterfly greenhouse. There were many butterflies I've never seen in person before. It's nice to go in different seasons of the year. You get to see different things. There were some Lenten rose flowers in bloom, which only bloom around now, which were nice to discover. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Garden of Glass exhibit featuring Craig Smith of Lansing, Michigan was fantastic. The beautiful fall foliage and exquisite art work made the visit memorable.
The exhibit drew a wide range of enthusiasts from family's with small children to wedding parties.

Probably the most well known destination in Midland county and for a very good reason. Visit any time of the year, but especially in the Spring or Summer, and explore this gem. The sprawling grounds are manicured and maintained to a very high degree and there are points of interest everywhere. It's simply beautiful to walk through and , even though I've visited this place repeatedly, I always find something to ponder and gaze at that I somehow didn't see before. If you're a tree "enthusiast" ( like me) this is a destination not to be missed. Add to that a children - friendly play area, a large tropical indoor garden, a huge rose garden, water settings with pathway bridges, sculptures and endless perennial plants. And don't forget the adjacent Whiting Forest with its elevated pathway and another kid friendly play area. ( You can get on the elevated pathway from Dow Gardens. Just head for the Rose Garden area)
Want more? Take a tour of the Dow mansion next door or the adjacent home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, which was also built for the Dow family.
Prices are very reasonable for all these attractions.

It's amazing not only because of its size but on how well it has been keeping up, almost every inch is so well maintained, layers of matching height brilliant color landscape, weed-free everywhere -- I know how impossible it would be compared with my own tiny yards. Took me over 4 hours just to have a quick glimpse. For sure, the canopy walk was the highlight, it more like a huge backyard playset but at a huge grand scale.

Great little gem that gives you access to the riverfront parks and trails

What a beautiful walk!
If walking is hard for you or you have handicap needs, the Tridge is an excellent destination as it has close parking and isn't huge. If you're a runner or enjoy walking, it connects to several different trails, most notably, the Chippewa Nature Center (3.5 miles) and the Scenic Overlook (2 miles).
In the summer months the local farmers market is a great stop on Saturdays.
Also a great location for senior pictures.

Very nice place in Midland! It was our first time here, but won't be the last. There's a great trail here that goes all the way to Clare! We will be bringing the bikes next time.

Always a delightful sight and fantastic place to walk. Access to a dog park, baseball and disc golf park and downtown Midland. Spring this area usually floods, however one still can hike the trail on downtown Midland side. Photos shown during and after flood.

Always a place to catch your vibe and appreciate nature and great architecture!
Had a chance to also kayak the area and it’s an even better view from the water!

I’ve always wanted to visit this place. Of course the day we get to it’s raining 😂 but I absolutely loved it! So cool that there’s only 4 walking “Tridges” that exist in the world and there’s one that’s not a thousand miles from me!

Great for an outdoor adventure
This is a great place to take a walk, bring your dog or take a bike ride. There is also a kayak launch into the river. If you are in need of a relaxing place this is where you should come. There is plenty of free parking in the area. Downtown Midland isn't far either, so you can walk to get a bite to eat after your walking adventure.
Minor-league baseball stadium & home to the Great Lakes Loons also features suites & a kids' area.
We had a great family night watching Moana and running on the field. Cant wait to go back this weekend to watch a game. Concessions were pretty reasonable, facility was spotless. Staff was very helpful and kind. Great place for the entire family

Night at the Loons game! Great atmosphere, clean, inviting and comfortable stadium. Parking was super close and walked practically up and in to our spot on the lawn. Highly recommend as this has been my favorite minor league experience yet!

Attend a wedding at this venue! I was sure what to expect once I learned it was a sports venue. Oh my goodness, this place was AMAZING! You forgot about it being a baseball complex.
The place is spotless and spacious! The wedding I attended, this place fits the bill for the bride and groom. He played baseball and she played softball in college. Any ways, The staff ran like a well oiled machine. The food was super delicious, seasoned well and served hot!
Don’t pass on this venue if you are looking for a venue for a special event.

They had a food giveaway and it was definitely worth going. They handed out coffee and cookies to everyone and even brought it right up to the cars through the window delivery. So very nice. Everyone was so kind and friendly it was welcoming. They gave away great big boxes full of food and even a 10 dollar gift card/voucher for whatever might still be needed. Very Very Generous and I am thoroughly impressed with staff, wait time, organization skills . A big thank you to Midland Dow and EFPN and everyone else for all the generosity. It helped my family and so many more.

Great family fun! The kids love the play structures and it's always loaded with all ages and they always seem to get along!! It's easy to watch the game from there too and they have young people kinda trying to keep an eye on the kiddy madness! Louie Loon visits the kids there too

We had so much family fun at a Friday night Loons game! With lawn seats I could sit right next to the playground and keep an eye on the littles. On Friday the drinks and hotdogs were only $2 each! We went for a birthday party and it was super cool too see our birthday boy sang to in the middle of the field!

First time ever coming here and the first time my wife and I got to see a baseball game together. Had a really good time! It was a blast actually. My buddy invited us out to hang out and catch up and I must say it was well worth the trip. If you've never been out this way you definitely got to travel it is definitely worth coming out too. The prices are very reasonable the food is really good in town and the fireworks.. all I can say is best I've ever seen!! Will definitely come back again love the feeling of Hometown Pride

Friday feast night. $2 hotdogs, $1 chips, pop & ice cream. I had Italian sausage with peppers & onion. It was Luke warm but still really good. My husband got loaded nachos that he got the last time he came. Fireworks after the game. I'm not a baseball fan, but Lou E Loon kept me entiretained.

We have been to Dow Diamond a few times now with our three children. Each time they have received a free hot dog meal! They love playing on the playground after we've sat and watched the game on the lawn seats. The entire facility is so well maintained, clean and all the employees are very friendly. They have gotten their ball caps signed by the mascot and the first base coach which they thought was amazing! My husband works at Dow and being able to see his work banners around the field is pretty exciting! We can also see their buildings from the diamond which was super cool for our kids to be able to see after a great day of watching baseball!

I've been to plenty of farm team parks. This one is one of the best. Clean, the bathrooms are gorgeous, the concourse has it all from street tacos to poutine, and everything in between. Staff is friendly and eager to help. Wine, beer, drinks in a can.

Had a wonderful time at Dow Diamond for the loons game! I highly recommend using clutch for parking as it was incredibly easy. Pay on the app and they scan the ticket.
Parking was easy to find with plenty of signs placed and high visibility vests placed on parking attendants.
Got in and out seats in section 108 row 8 seats 15 and 16 had a WONDERFUL view of the game.
