This museum is absolutely huge.. I spent an hour there and that wasn't even close to enough time. I would suggest planning on 2 hours and it's worth the time. The exhibits are wonderfully put together showing how life was back in the day. Lots of local history and cultural information with great artifacts.. I would suggest this place to anyone who appreciates history..

This museum is not part of the national or state park system. It is a locally-run museum, and admission is only $10 for adults. The exhibits are very well done and informative. It would take almost a whole day to see the whole museum and all it's outdoor buildings. For anyone interested in local history this is a great place to visit.

4th grade field trip with my son was fun here! Volunteer Chuck was very informative and kept the students very in gaged during his presentations at all the exhibits!

Excellent display of the history of the area. They have a great Pioneer Village. It was a pleasant museum to visit.

Had an excellent time with my daughter and her fourth grade class. Anita, our guide (docent), led us through the exhibits and gave us background and context for all of the pieces. Everything was clean, the staff in the gift shop was friendly, and there was a lot to see both inside and out. We appreciated the A/C in the main building and the nicely kept grounds outside. The play structure was fun to have as well (although a little full with so many students).

We were driving and I spotted the open signs. It said they were only open another 30 minutes. I expected it to be a small area we could easily get through. The amazing woman in the gift center worked with us when we realized it was much bigger. Told us all about the Oregon trail program in the summer. We will definitely be back!

Great museum to visit. Will definitely come back for more history. I loved all that I saw inside and out. The staff was so inviting & knowledgeable. They were are also personable to visitors.
There is so much here at this museum and surrounding grounds. I have so much more to come back and see/do.

Really nice museum with tons of items to look at plus a gift shop.

Very informative, lots of things to see. This museum was created by families that lived here to preserve the history so there are a lot of items and photos. My favorites were the prison info, the quilts, and finding my great grandfather's donation stone!

The effort to put activities together for the kids and the ice cream is a plus.
It's a weird and different museum, but you can tell the community cares, in general. Great effort and you can learn.

One of my favorite museums in Washington!
The people who run it are great! I highly recommend it to visit. They put on many interesting and informative living history presentations throughout the year.

We really wanted to go inside and spend some time inside the museum, unfortunately we've been traveling with our dogs on our quest to visit all of Washington State and the temperature was above 100⁰ so we couldn't leave the dogs in the truck which meant we either took turns to go in or not go at all... we chose the latter and headed back to the picnic area for lunch and get a couple of shots of the artillery equipment. Hope to someday come back without the dogs.

Very nice museum, with excellent, well-designed displays. I'm glad we visited. 😊

Never been to Walla Walla before until today and this is a really good museum. They had Lewis and Clark reenactors full of information plus lots of really cool stuff to look at and it didn't cost much to get in.

Wildhorse Resort & Casino
Casino
Casinos & Gambling
Wildhorse Resort & Casino is a laid-back destination that offers various dining options, a golf course, and an indoor pool. The facility is smoke-free indoors, with smoking only permitted outside. It features amenities such as a bowling alley, arcade, movie theater, and children's entertainment center. The resort also provides comfortable accommodations and a casino for guests to enjoy. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and affordable food at the sports bar during happy hour. Additionally, its convenient location makes it easily accessible from Boise.
Fun gaming (love that it is still a non-smoking facility). Good food options (although we miss the original deli). Lots of family entertainment...swimming, bowling, movies. Tower hotel rooms are clean, comfortable, modern. Friendly and competent staff.

We had fun here! Staff were all very helpful, courteous and friendly. The room was clean and decent but could use a little updating. Not complaining though because we did get a discount! After signing up for the club card we got our second night for $35 because it was a Tuesday night. Nice surprise there! Overall a very pleasant stay.

The good: Nice room, nice casino, great sandwiches, good bartenders, good parking, easy to get to. The not so good: pool was cloudy and smells so we did not get in, check in was very slow. Not just slow but "what in the world are they doing up there?" , slow. We thought about staying a second night but would have had to change rooms so we decided to get a few hours closer to home instead.
Jonathan Crowe — Google review
Amazing place! We did a golf trip with 16 people and the accommodations and staff of the resort, bar, and course were amazing. The bar manager, Anna, booked us a private area of the bar for 2 nights. The server, Lisa, was incredible! Best server I have ever had! Lastly, the golf course was in amazing shape and everyone who worked at the course was amazing.

Very convenient from Boise! Cleaner rooms, and no smoke in the air. Dealer, restaurant staff, and cashiers were all very friendly- no matter what time of the day! Food at the sports bar is CHEAP and GOOD! the nachos are always my favorite. Happy hour is half off apps, so my boyfriend and I got a whole table of food and a couple drinks for $50! That's a crazy good deal, especially for a casino/hotel. The pho place is tasty, and relatively cheap as well!
They also have a pool and dry sauna to use, as well as a well maintained mini-gym! I haven't utilized the bowling alley or movie theater yet, but I'm very glad there's some things to do aside from gamble! I'm always very impressed, and the slots pay out pretty well, too! They've got a $5 minimum hand that pays 3/2 on blackjack most mid-days, too, which is awesome for a beginner who doesn't want to spend $15 or more a hand anywhere else.
For $60/night at the hotel, it's an amazing place to travel on a budget for a weekend getaway!

Hoping the new tower will be up soon. The first two nights in the tower were great but had to roll down to the old part on Sunday, New Year’s Eve. Getting the buffet back would also be great. Lost or shall I say contributed for the most part, suggest you check out high spade flush (newer card game) or double action combo of 3card poker and let it ride. Had to stand around to much waiting for positions to open at the card tables. If we are standing watching ya’ll are loosing out.

We stayed at this hotel three times now. They have a nice newer tower where the rooms are probably nicer, but we have to stay in the courtyard because of our dog. These rooms are definitely dated but it's nice that they allow dogs. It's very convenient to get outside lots of grassy areas. Hotel also has good restaurants, food court connected theater in bowling alley. Staff here is very friendly. I want to give a shout out to Britney at the front desk who was especially helpful when we needed to extend our stay because of our sick older dog, recuperating from oral surgery.

We love coming to Wildhorse! The Traditions restaurant is delicious as is their food court! We love that they are a smoke free facility so smoking is only allowed outside. They have a bowling alley, arcade, movie theater, children's entertainment center (which is a day care for kids 13 and under), pool, hot tub and of course the hotel and casino. We have stayed many times and utilized all of the facilities. They were all fantastic!!! The children's entertainment center is amazing!!!! They are all so very kind and engaging with the kids. They have. Play structure in there, video games crafts and other fun activities. You pay by the hour and can include meals and drinks for your kids. We love that it's super secure! You present your driver's license when checking them in and out and only you can get them out. I could literally go on and on about Wildhorse! Check it out, you will not be disappointed!

I have always enjoyed my stays at Wildhorse. Rooms are clean, quiet, and reasonable. The Casino is usually busy and it's really nice that it's smoke free. The poker tournaments are well run. You will enjoy the golf course. Good discount on stays and food on Tuesdays for seniors.

Previously had issues years ago when it was under different ownership. Issue was resolved asap and management apologized.
Power happy guard doesn't know how to tell the truth and avoid power struggles. I was crisis trained through Cornell Universities program. The same training cops are required to have. More credentials than private security.
Was treated like I was a liar and like I was crazy even though I've never had a ticket or offense in my life.
I was compliant, wasn't rude, and did exactly as I was told as the moron decided to tell me I was kicked out for 24 hours. Even though it was the first time I was told I wasn't allowed to do what I was doing. Proceeded to tell me it was my last warning even though it was my first. I came back and talked to other departments and they didn't understand why it was an issue to begin with and agreed that the situation didn't need to be handled the way it was.
After being told I couldn't do it anymore, I left and I was followed by a tribal police officer all the way back to town. More than 5 miles which is illegal. Management did not talk to me or tell me what was going on and neither did tribal police. The only person who talked to me was the power happy security guard who of course handled the situation alone.
I told him I was recording and the guard repeated "I know I am." He doesn't need to intentionally gas light and use manipulative statements to subtly irritate others. It's completely unprofessional.
I'll be carrying something from my own personal collection valued at $8k. If I'm forced to throw my own things back I'll pull out the receipts and file charges.
He's lucky I don't file charges to begin with since I have disorders and harassing a person with disorders is a crime. Psychologically manipulating people with disorders is known as abuse too. Treat me like I'm crazy again and I'll press charges against the exact person who did it as well as the company if it's not handled appropriately.

I love this casino! This is my local casino and yeah everyone loses every once in awhile. But I somehow always win jackpots here. I have won jackpots ranging from $500-$5000. This casino also has a kid friendly children's entertainment center and arcade that doesn't charge an arm and a leg! And the rooms are always clean! They also have awesome staff. I would recommend anyone to try this casino out, you won't be disappointed.

Service can do better. It seems like everyone working there is less motivated. Don't get me wrong, you have some workers that make the experience enjoyable, but overall, most seem unhappy to work there. I get it life must be unhappy at times, but the customer is paying for experience and for the service. Just because we are not paying 5 star resort prices does not mean we should take 1 star resort services. A paying customer is a paying customer. It doesn't matter if we tip big or tip small if you don't want us there, then we are glad to our money and spend it where we are appreciated. Everything was okay. I'm going to say it's a 5 star place, but the only thing I recommend is to make every customer's experience the best experience regardless of how much we pay and for goodness sakes please put a smile on your faces. It does not cost anything to treat people nicely, kind, and with respect.

Review is for the casino only. Did not stay in the hotel. Second time here, walking out a winner again so obviously I LOVE this place! I had $150 free play from my last visit and $10 for food. 😀 I only play slot machines but I come in ready to lose it all so if you're not ready to take a loss don't do it! I didn't lose last night tho, or the last visit 😬 Oh, and us truck drivers are HUGELY thankful for providing us with a safe place to park overnight. Thank you thank you THANK YOU!

Had a great time with my family. Great staff that were helpful and friendly. Pretty clean overall. My only complaint is the music videos of choice playing on the big screen for my 2 yr old, 4 yr old, 9, and 11 yr old to see and ask questions about why they were seeing such inappropriate things..... call me old fashioned but my kids arent allowed to see or are familiar with skin showing and mature dancing. 🤔 firework show was pretty cool! Would definitely go again better prepared. Just change the music video selection, pretty please!
Sincerely, a mom trying to raise her kids right.

My only complaint was they needed to clean their hallways. The hallways looked like they haven't been cleaned in a month. The rooms was very nice and cleaned. I just got a little nervous walking down the unkempt hallway but when I got to my room, it was a pleasant surprise. Very nice work to the cleaning people.

Wild experience and a fun New Year's Eve! We spent one night her and 2 additional nights elsewhere due to availability. The room was clean and I had no complaints. The only downside was that to get to the pool you had to walk through the lobby, next to the check in desk and past the gift shop for access. Great weekend overall!

Jen RN, travel nurse from Florida. We were just passing through and stayed for the night, but this definitely looks like a great place for a large group to get together and have a fantastic time.
The RV park is PAVED! Pull-through sites big enough to accommodate our 41 ft toy-hauler. 50 amps! Well maintained grounds. Quiet. Lovely views. I definitely recommend ❣️

Room was out dated and definitely needs new clocks and outlets were worn-out and plug kept falling out. But dinner was good at the sports bar. Didn't do any gambling but a good selection of games and table games too. Valet was good too, they let us park our bikes were they could see them and all was good. Would I stay there again? Definitely, just hopefully they will update the outlets and clock. The room did have a mini fridge and it was quite and worked great and clean.

Rv resort is ran down and could use some attention. Casino is a run of the mill casino. Staff are very friendly. Arcade is nice. Children’s play area is lacking. Food court has excellent food for the price. Ice cream is good as well. We did not partake in the movie theater or bowling so I cannot comment although both look nice.
Ryan Martin — Google review
We went bowling here, and we had a great time, even though we're not good at bowling. A friendly server brought over a pitcher of water and cups for our group. There are a lot of family-friendly options for entertainment, and there is even child care for ages 3 to 13. The sign says your child should be potty-trained because they can not change diapers. The employees in the child care area were very kind.

I loved the fact it has SEMI TRUCK PARKING!
Has shuttle from the parking lot to casino area for us drivers!
It has a clean food court to chill in!
Love the ice cream place & you got your moneys worth for the 3 scoop bowl! It was only $4 you can’t get that at the truck stop! Lol
Movie theater & bowling alley was clean also!
Reasonable prices for movie .. $10 for adult & $9 for small snacks including drink ..popcorn.. & theater sized candy!

2/26/24 stayed one night for my birthday. The room was gross. Carpets badly stained, holes in the curtains. Furniture is very old and has finish worn off and stained, bead spread was dingy tattered and losing threads. Toilet is from an elementary school about 12 inches tall.
It was a Monday night so the good restaurant was closed. No place to get anything but bar food. A diner with an extremely limited menu. When seated they put a sign in your face telling you there’s a 90 minute maximum at the table. Overall a very unsatisfactory experience and won’t be returning. Even though I won money. It’s the furthest one can get from a resort experience….

The Courtyard rooms are old and need updating. The Tower is much nicer.
When I booked my room I wasn't given an option. The casino is nice. Reatuarants were great with excellent food. There's a movie theater and bowling alley. So mich to do!

Gross treatment from the dark-haired lady at the lobby bar. She tried banning me because she thought my ID was invalid & was super rude about it (I had 4 other employees check it throughout my stay and no one had a problem with it, I even joined their club with it) So they need to get their employees on the same page and teach her specifically customer service skills

RV overnight dry camping stay. Great location and lots of amenities at this casino, including a movie theater and bowling alley, ice cream shops, a food court and restaurants...and the casino! The best part is that they do not require RVers to join the players club or register to overnight in the dry camping area of their parking lot. We had a great dining experience at the Traditions Restaurant, too. We walked the family friendly carpeted path at the outer fringes of the casino and hotel to get a bit of exercise after our dinner. We'll be back!

We were detoured here after the I-84 was closed. Wonderful, free RV parking. We went to the sports bar to try and find the Vancouver Canucks game. Everyone tried really hard to find it but unfortunately it wasn't available. Staff here are so amazing
Our server was Samantha, such a sweetheart! It was so busy but she smiled all night. A great place to stop!
Known for wool apparel & blankets, this chain also sells non-wool clothing, decor items & linens.
Such a cute city with lots of shops and an interesting history. The underground tours are very informative. The Tamastslikt cultural institute, just outside of the main streets of Pendleton, gives you a different perspective on the indigenous Americans and how these last 200 years have affected them. I would also absolutely recommend stopping by the Pendleton woolen Mills for wonderfully crafted wool sweaters/ blankets.

Absolute must-stop. We were there on a rainy day and did the tour of the mill. It's not easy for a non-native English speaker to follow everything, also due to the noise from the machines, but despite that it was interesting and great to see the process. Large store attached to it with friendly staff and good deals.

Pointing out sales and explaining pricing. Extremely high prices, I could not find a single product made in USA. Everything in the store is made in China. You are paying for the Pendleton tag but not getting Pendleton products. Very disappointed. I will now cherish my old school Pendleton gear even more.
Update. Do not be confused by the response from Pendleton. Two of us spent 45 minutes looking for a tag made in the USA, never found a single one. Just like China, don't trust Pendleton and their deceptive ways.

We love stopping in here. Before reading on, I have to say I graded them down two full stars because their employees are so unfriendly. Not rude, just super cold and unfriendly.
The store is always clean and well stocked. The quality of their mechandise is top shelf. We have three of their blankets, numerous shirts, suitcases, bags...... their goods will last a lifetime. Taking the mill tour, which I have done 6 times over the past 30-years, is a blast.
It's worth a trip here, we just wish they could find a friendly face to hire.

We visited Pendleton Woolen Mills and it was a great hit with the family. They sell blemished blankets at a discount which is a fine way to acquire a Pendleton wool blanket without breaking the bank. I bought a coffee mug and hat. My wife purchased the blanket and she was so pleased. I observed many people leaving who were super happy - one lady was even happy crying.

We stopped o. Our way home from our PNW road trip, purely because we knew my mother-in-law would get a kick out of it. She loves Pendleton! We walked through the store. Found a few fun things for my mom-in-law. The bathrooms were clean. The store was well organized and clean. There were no tour's happeing that day but we could see into the mill through glass doors. Was fun to see the wool and threads stacked up and a blanket being wooven. (I thinks thats what it was anyways.) The staff were friendly and helpful!
Pendleton Underground Tours offers a walking tour that delves into the city's intriguing history, including its shady past involving gamblers, opium dens, and Chinese laborers. The tour explores underground tunnels where Chinese laborers lived while working on regional railroad operations and where illicit businesses like brothels and speakeasies operated with hidden escape tunnels. This unique experience provides insight into Pendleton's captivating past and is a must-do activity in town for those interested in local history.
I've heard people talk about this underground tour and wanted to check it out.
This tour did not disappoint! The history is AMAZING and simply fascinating!
Becky (I think was her name) was our tour guide. She was fabulous! She has a stellar personality and made the tour fun and informative.
There is one downfall-- I wanted more! I didn't want it to end. I wanted to go as far as the underground would take us!
We will definitely do this again! They told us about an adult tour that sounds awesome!

This has been on my bucket list for years and I finally got to cross it off.
The tour guide, Matt Ramirez, was so knowledgeable and entertaining; that place is historical beyond belief.
The historical value of this endeavor is priceless and I commend the Non Profit for this undertaking in doing their part to preserve the history of this area.
The tour itself was fascinating seeing how people were forced to live and how they, as a people, overcame their obstacles.
I'm not proud of the facts this history represents, but it is vital we keep things like this alive, so future generations can learn from it.
It truly is remarkable and a MUST SEE whether you are local and have never been, or just passing through.
There is also a quaint gift shop and the young lady working there was delightful and I found several must haves to take home with me.
It was all well worth the afternoon we spent there!
Just a few of the several dozen pics I took, simply fascinating!

This was a neat thing to do while passing through. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable. It was interesting going through the rooms and learning about a shady part of history. So why 4 stars? First, our guide was great, he explained things as we walked through each room. The price was a little high but in todays day and age it was worth it, especially seeing our guide pointed out other local free attractions and let us know if we showed our tickets where we could get discounts. The 3 issues to bring it down a star, first, way to many people on the tour, you are in tight little rooms down underground with no air flow, put that with a big (about 14 people) group it gets hard to breath, plus mid tour 2 people left early because they felt ill, again they where crammed in tiny rooms with us for the last 45 minutes, the second issue is the bathroom situation, they encourage you to drink water as some rooms can be very warm, but for the 1 1/2 hour tour there is no bathrooms, and the third, doing the tour is not easy, your going down stairs, then up stairs, then back down and up and down and up, and the flooring in almost every room is uneven and you have to watch your footing, if you have any difficulties with stairs, or walking in general pass up on this tour. It was interesting and overall a good time and the guide was great, I would recommend doing it if you can get in with a smaller crowd.

Nice park. Pretty clean and well taken care of. Plenty of big trees, a splash pad for children, a playground, water access for swimming, kayaking and even boating, jet-skiing, etc. Access to various cruise ships and other water vessels and the like from several docks. Nice walking/bike paths. Benches and bench-swings, plus a concession stand and Hawaiian Ice. A few suspicious, possibly homeless, possibly substance abuse type people but they didn’t bother us. Overall we had a pleasant time this day and when we visited before. Would go back again.

A great park any time of year. And it’s only 3-4 min drive from the hospital, so it’s great if you have a wait. There is also a gallery/gift shop right next to it.
It has tennis courts, awesome playgrounds (one for 5-12 year olds, one for 2-5 year olds), all of the park benches are swinging benches, a boulder/rock climbing area), a music area with mallet percussion, a water front walking path, and a amphitheater. Beautiful views throughout. You can easily spend 30 minutes or many many hours there. Lots of tress for shade. It even had an AED on site for emergencies! I think there is also a concession stand, perhaps open during summer months. It’s also next door to the community center.
Park seems clean and well maintained.

Great park for all age kids. Mushroom pool, Richland community center, docks, gazebos, and great walking paths! Beautiful park!

The park is vast and runs right along the river. There is a nicely paved river walk that extends a good distance in both directions. There were paddle board rentals and docks. I was surprised that cruise ship docked there so lots of activity. Restrooms were also available near the playground.

I go to Howard Amon park often. There's an awesome path to walk/bike/skate on, lots of area for picnics and activities, and my favorite pastime is sitting along the river and soaking up those healing river vibes. All in all, I really love this park and recommend everyone to come out here and play!

This was one of the park we went to on our first visit to Tricities and instantly fell in love with the area because of it.
The park has a really neat playground for the children and cool swing benches you can sit on while enjoying the beautiful view of the Columbia river. We took our kids here one evening last summer and there were lots of kids at the playground laughing, screaming and running around. Now that may turn some people off, but I absolutely loved it. We live in a small town with a very tiny playground and barely see any kids play in it, so to see that many children playing in this park gave me so much joy. Even after dark there were still tons of people hanging around at the park and children playing at the playground. I didnt want to leave but the mosquitoes chased us away. 😅🤣
Pictures attached were from our last visit to Tricities before we move out of state this coming summer.

My 1st time here! It was pretty cool! Went for the boat light parade, there was all kinds of things to do and eat! We took the short free train ride to look at the inflatable lights figures, had some free hot cocoa, and enjoyed a free visit and pictures with Santa! Not sure what it looks like during the day, but pretty cool at night and awesome fireworks!

Very beautiful park!! It was amazing to see a hydroplane practice landing on the river.
The playground had interactive musical instruments and it was well maintained. The dock was also pretty cool. you can see fish and even a small lobster swiing at the bottom. Would definitely visit again.

As visitors to this city, this park was recommended by family who live here. Loved the abundant benches and picnic tables, as well as the music corner. Every park should have swinging benches like this.
Beautiful winery and well organized. Very friendly workers. Picked up a load of empty barrels. Guys who loaded my truck are rocks. They put 154 barrels in my container in less than one hour.

Nice winery with a lot of character, despite being like a corporation (watch the trucks with grapes come and go). Make sure to go down the stairs and see the cellar with all the cases. The tasting room is very comfortable, enough space to taste and browse the wines.
Prices of the wines are very reasonable.

Beautiful grounds and a very nice tasting room with friendly employees. Visited during the Spring Barrel weekend and were fortunate enough to be able to go down into the cellar to taste wine from the barrels. Nice selection of items for sales including some cheese and other snacks.

I'm going to be honest, I was a bit leery because it was such a big corporation winery. But it was actually a great experience. First of all $5 for 4, 5 tastes? Awesome. Second, the chateau they had was incredibly classy but approachable. Third, the attendant at the bar was incredibly nice, easy to talk to, and poured us drinks we were curious about, even if they were off the list. Good times and nice vineyard to walk around.

Planned a private wine tasting with my girls to catch up and drink wine. They even helped out with creating a charcuterie board to sample with the wines. Overall, a great experience and a beautiful place. Shame it was raining, would have loved to walk around but the scenery was breathtaking. Will be visiting again during my next visit.

We had the best time at Columbia Crest Winery today in the tasting room with Vicky,. She made our day by being so welcoming, joking around with us and being so informative! She even got us some cheese and crackers to go with the tasting! We shared how much we were looking forward to our visit, but had been worried of our delay during the drive to the winery from the Columbia Gorge waterfalls, as it was much farther than we were thinking and it took so long to get there that we didn’t arrive until 4:30, just having discovered that they closed at 5 pm while we were on the way! Upon arrival we thought we would be rushed through the tasting experience at this, our favorite overall winery, after coming from Philadelphia to visit while in Washington. But nothing could have been further from that as she showed us numerous wines and even gave us an individual tour of the vine cellar and a tasting from a barrel during fermentation! She shared her Columbia Crest story with us and even took a picture with us! In the end we were there for over an hour and we would have never known that she and a few of her colleagues were staying to make our experience so special! What a wonderful representation of Columbia Crest she was! Congratulation to Columbia Crest for having a great staff member to represent your business!! Highly recommend others touring this beautiful winery!

Usually love this place but our visit this past week was very lackluster. I miss the personalized wine introductions, service and even a few crackers to tame the taste buds. Maybe the changes are due to COVID but we’ll probably find a new wine club to join.

14 Hands has consistently delivered high quality, excellent value WA red wine blends for many years. The 2019 Juicy Red is another great example. Syrah based, it serves up complex, well balanced blueberry, dark cherry, black current, mocha and spices. We enjoyed ours during a delicious roast beef dinner. Still youthful for about an hour, it smoothed out nicely for sipping after dinner.

This place is amazing! I read a comment that said the wines are totally different than what is in the store and that is 100percent true. Great wines at a great price. The white cabernet is divine and the charcuterie board has the best cheese I've had in years.

We continue to enjoy going to 14 Hands each time we visit our family in the Tri-Cities so that we may select a few more bottles to bring back home to Napa where we live— we especially love their Cabernet Sauvignon! What we like is that 14 Hands offers a good selection of reasonably priced wines. We also really enjoy the wine tasting experience because 14 Hands has a very nice tasting room, a pleasant and knowledgeable staff, and a large and welcoming patio area— we recommend ordering the cheese plate, which we have found to nicely complement our wine tastings!

Went here for a wine tasting and they were so awesome and so nice that we ended up joining their wine club which has no membership fee. As a result our complete wine tasting was free and the bottle the prices of the bottles of wine were greatly reduced. It's a very nice wine tasting room with a big large outdoor area that wraps all the way around. Besides the tasting room in large outdoor patio area, they have some interesting vintage barnwood displays, an art gallery, and a little store. Employee Cassandra took great care of us and told us so much history of the winery and their different grapes and vintages. We had such a fun time, highly recommend.

We stopped by this lovely tasting room while on a road trip in July 2022, as a respite from driving in the 100°+ heat.
It was a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere of the tasting room is very nice, our tasting guide was wonderful and we enjoyed some unique reserve wines that the winery does not distribute very widely in liquor stores. So, of course, we ended up buying a few bottles. Highly recommended!

Remote mansion with a diverse collection, including Rodin sculptures & Native American artifacts.
I've been to a few museums over the course of my life, but this is definitely one of my favorites. Definitely small, but the collections they have are of pure quality. Great selection of sculptures, paintings, other visual art, and even interactive exhibits such as a wall where you can draw your own painting and place it with those of other patrons'. I found a lot of lovely pictures to admire and had an excellent time walking around and trying to soak everything in. The exterior of the museum is also beautiful, with an even lovelier view outside.
Service here was top-notch. Every single employee I came across here was friendly and helpful. Willing to talk, or leave you alone, depending on which you want. The security guard saw me circling around a couple of times, and had a short conversation with me to recommend what he thought was the best part of the museum, the ornate chess set collection, and I'm happy he told me about it.
The Maryhill Museum of Art was an excellent deal. Prices for admission are surprisingly cheap! They also have a small gift shop that barely looked like a store, but at least had some knick-knacks and other art-related things that you can buy at reasonable prices. I was happy to provide them with a donation and I hope people will keep doing so for them to keep running, as it's an excellent and enriching service.

I went without knowing what to expect. Every time i tell someone about this visit they seem surprised by the array of exhibit topics. When i went they included queen marie of Romania, the museum itself and its founder Sam Hill (buried on the property but the headstone is not quite easily accessible or well marked), théâtre de la mode, native American objects (disappointed that there wasn't any local native history included), chess sets, and a collection of glass. There's also a very limited sculpture garden. There's also a full size and complete replica of Stonehenge on a fully separate area of the property.
Nick Havens — Google review
All staff were following Covid safety procedures, we and everyone we saw were wearing mask.
This place was very unusual collection of art. The Sam Hill video is a must at the very start so you will understand the whole vibe around this place. A wide gambit of art pieces & history. Like they collected stuff from around the world then dropped it into one place.
Don't miss the hundreds of custom chess pieces in the lower area. The fact this place was to be a home was not surprising due to the rich story of Sam Hill.
The outside art & walking area was very relaxing.
Cafe was closed, but WHO CARES we didn't go there to eat.
We took lots of pictures of the chess sets, because our 26 yr old grandson would love this.
Don't let any negative reviews of this place stop you from checking it out for yourself.
Your family can even picnic here.
LOTS of RV & bus parking

Such a stunning collection of quite a variety of exhibits. Walked in not knowing anything about it and walked out in disbelief at seeing a collection of Rodin sculptures. Had no idea they were there. The other exhibits were all great and definitely worth your time. Truly an amazing, quirky little place.

Did not expect to see such diversity of collections. Very impressive Native American craft collection and well arranged. Interesting Paris after World War II miniature fashion shows.
The Romania folks costumes are impressive. The chess set collection is fun to see. The ground is dotted with sculptures. We spent most morning there. Very interesting architecture with the host, Sam Hill, wanting to have guests sleep on the top deck to see the stars. This museum inspires.

This was a wonderful museum. I would have loved to access the cafe, it was closed. I didn't see any maps on a wall or stand which would have helped ( the star ⭐ you are here, and where you could go next) we had a hand held map, but other maps to verify would be nice. You can take pictures but no flash photography. More places for fans or AC during the hot weather is needed.

I walked out of this place utterly disgusted and disappointed. The main attraction that I came to see was the native artifacts. What I found was a whole lot of evil secret society symbolism and deception. I didn’t post pictures of the top level because it contained dark occult symbolism that does not need to be shared. This is blasphemy to the natives!

It's been a while since my last visit to the museum. I love the grounds and the building architecture as much as the contents inside. There is so much to experience and see inside with beautiful art, cultural treasures, and history. Writing about everything would occupy a significant amount of time. Suffice it to say that the best way to do Maryhill is simply to visit and experience it for yourself. It is a treasure in so many ways.

This museum is deceptively LARGE... there is so much more here than I expected from the outside. I was impressed with the number of artists and subjects covered as well as the amount of entertaining historical facts available, it was a wonderful, entertaining experience. We enjoyed ourselves wandering all 3 levels of the building and then sat on one of the benches overlooking the river and had a picnic. This is a highly recommended destination.

Huge, beautiful, got to see floor chess pieces, chess sets from around the world, Rodin work, Native American artifacts, fashions from Paris. Impressed with the architecture of the home and doors and bathroom of the era. Free to get in.

I mostly visited this time to see the chess set collection. This is one of the best in the US, with approximately 80 sets on display and in excess of 400 in the collection. There were sets that ranged from mid-19th century Ivory to 2020 3D printed sets. They were given their own gallery in 2019. The Museum is worth the $12 admission just for the chess sets.
In addition to the chess sets, the museum has galleries devoted to items from pre-communist Romania donated directly to the museum by the royal family and a Native American gallery.

The setting for this museum is amazing high on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River with great Mt. Hood views. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor areas with the sculptures and interpretive area. I wish the cafe were open on our visit as it would have been great to hang out on the lower terrace with refreshments.
Amazing views of the Columbia Gorge and Mt. Hood from the expansive outdoor deck. The indoor tasting room is attractive and comfortable. The wine flight is included in a $25 wine purchase. I enjoyed the Salmon Cakes. Very friendly service. Recommend.

First time going to this winery and I enjoyed the overall atmosphere as many people have mentioned. Its located not far from the gorge and down the street from the Maryhill Museum. The staff was very friendly and polite. I also want to mention I went midweek. I can see how this place would be very busy on the weekends when more events take place on the grounds.
However I felt like many things were overpriced for consumption on site. The prices for a bottle seemed decent though if you wanted to take some home. Most common order seemed to be the flight, which was 20 dollars for 8 two ounce pours. I didn't care for the lack of options to pick what I wanted to try in a flight, which is generally a common thing at most wineries, or having the option to choose from several types of flight depending on the person's palate.
I might consider going again another time perhaps on a weekend.

This place had the kindest people. My boyfriend proposed to me here and they were so accommodating. They allowed us to explore so it was a more private intimate proposal. They then gave us complimentary champagne and let us keep the cork to remember that day. The manager, Cherlea? came up and gave me a big hug and congratulated us. This was definitely the best place to have that special moment, and the people were a big part of why it was special. And not to mention the views were amazing! Being able to enjoy a great glass of wine looking out on the gorge was so beautiful and made an amazing day so much better. So thank you (:

Lovely spot out of town. We enjoyed a glass fo rose. Next time I'll try a few more wines, but it looks like you get a better wine experience and conversation inside at the bar vs. out on patio.

I don't know which I like better - the wine or the view! Thankfully when you visit you don't have to choose, you get both. The wines are really good. The tasting bar is beautiful and has plenty of space for many tasters at once. The servers are always friendly and attentive even though they are juggling many customers - the place always seems pretty busy! I always enjoy the tasting, but what really makes the visit superb is buying a glass to enjoy on the patio. The views are incredible! This trip was unique for us as there was a layer of snow amid the vines and snow on the hillsides around the Columbia - just amazing. I had a limit of one bottle per winery stop during this trip as we were travelling in our Truck Camper and we have to be aware of the vehicle weight.... and then oops.... we bought 2 cases, where is that going to go? We will visit again soon!
Dawn (We Always WAnder) — Google review
The wine was good, the servers were good. However, I didn’t like this as a winery “experience”. Usually when I go to a winery, the person pouring tells me a bit about the wine I’m about to drink AND a bit of chat. (And sometimes the chatty bit can be too much). This particular winery seems to place more of an emphasis on efficiency rather than education.
My partner and I choose the seated option for our wine pours which meant all of the tasting choices came out at once rather than someone pouring the next option and explaining the tasting notes. It seemed very designed to get people in and out in less than 30 mins. While I don’t regret coming in to taste a variety of wines, I didn’t walk out with an understanding about this winery’s process, strengths, or even why I should buy their wine at the store! There are much better wineries in the area!!!!

This is a first-class place with excellent wines, knowledgeable staff, stunning views of the Columbia Gorge, and really good food.

It is a gorgeous venue and the wine is tasty, but I couldn’t get over them charging us SEVEN DOLLARS each to have all the flight pours brought to the table at once. It wasn’t refundable or applied to the price of wine. We had to pay an extra $7 each to drink the wine we paid for. What a racket! Will not be returning while that policy remains in place.

The guide for our day trip was Zach Williams and not once did I question the safety of the hands we were in. Several other guides and rafters we encountered along the trip confirmed it by telling us "He's the best guide out here". Multiple trip options to choose from and the experience will be as tame or daring as you and your group chooses. It was so much fun and the pictures the company photographer took really captured it. I had never been rafting and was nervous. Especially because we were bringing our 7 year old son. Everything was great. Our guide, Paris, was fabulous with us an our son. She listened to our requests to go easy and it was very easy to follow her commands on the raft. We loved it and will be back. There was another boat in our group that flipped, but they went down a level 4 rapids. If you want to take it chill, talk to your guides before getting on the water. We had a great 4 hr trip down the Salmon River with Noah with our family of 4, including two kiddos (13 & 10) some fantastic rapids but still felt safe and prepared with the instruction our guide was giving keeping us posted of when we would need to dip towards the middle and when a big rapid was coming up. The water was cold, but the wet suits and splash jackets provided along with your adrenaline made the trip tolerable...I mean the water to the face will definitely "wake" you up...but its to be expected from the Salmon River. The perfect ending was a jump off a 20' bridge by a nearby area. This was such a highlight as part of our summer trip.

The Dalles is a city located in Wasco County, Oregon, USA. It has a population of 16,010 as per the 2020 census and is the largest city on the Oregon side of the Columbia River outside of Portland Metropolitan Area. For those planning to stay in Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles along with Hood River are recommended options.
The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum is an engaging museum that delves into the history of the gorge, from its formation by cataclysmic floods to the challenges faced by pioneers as they traversed it. The exhibits cover early settlements, transportation in the area, and the impact of dams. The Lewis and Clark wing features a display on animals encountered during their expedition and offers a daily bird of prey educational program with live raptors.
This is a great little museum. If you are a reader of ALL the placards, expect it to take a couple hours or more. However, if you are a “skimmer” this could take an hour. They have a raptor demonstration which is interesting but is mostly talk. Very few of the displays are interactive so kids might get a bit bored. The museum itself is a fine display and in general a clean and functional building. Unfortunately some of the wings in which displays are housed make the order of the layout a bit confusing. Still, it’s a fine museum and I highly recommend it.

Beautiful facility honoring the history of and around the Columbia River. There is even a gift shop with lots of local treasures - a great spot to pick up unique souvenirs if you're traveling.
Plenty of parking and helpful front desk attendant, as well!

Some really interesting information offered about this spectacular area - especially regarding the fascinating geology. The videos were well done. The treasure hunt was appreciated by our children but the ‘prize’ of a bee sticker was disappointing. Thought quite expensive for what if offered compared to state parks

We hosted our wedding at the Discovery Center. Tiffany and her team were wonderful. Twelve days before our wedding, our prior venue backed out and we were left scrambling. Thankfully, the Discovery Center was available. In less than two weeks, Tiffany and her team helped us prepare the perfect setting for our wedding and reception. The staff were delightful and friendly, they were incredibly thoughtful in helping us sort through all of the details and everything went off without a hitch. In addition to the beautiful scenery and stunning hall, our guests enjoyed touring the exhibits during the reception, and a few enjoyed the quiet of the theatre to escape all the fun of the dance floor. This venue has literally everything you need for the perfect wedding day - including stunning photo locations.

This place is amazing! My son is 3 and wasn't at the age of appreciation of the exhibits but he definitely enjoyed running around. We loved the exhibits. But I definitely have a deep appreciation of the staff, especially Tiffany Bates who went above and beyond for me and my family to celebrate my Mother's life! She and all the staff was so helpful to us, and really just amazing to give us such a proper celebration! We will definitely be visiting again on our travels! Thank you definitely rate 10+ ❤️

This spot is STUNNING. The scenery and discovery center are absolutely beautiful. I loved learning about the raptors and watching the demonstrations with the animals.
The proximity to the bike path was fantastic for exploring nearby restaurants and enjoying beautiful views of the gorge we just learned about. We found an awesome little brewery with amazing food just a few minutes down the path.

Stunning facility and exhibits are incredibly detailed and artistically inclusive! The historical representation includes information from a number of different angles and doesn’t ignore some of the difficult truths. Surrounding scenery is jaw-dropping and breezes off the river are wonderful! Lots of great parking for all sizes of vehicles too :)
Please consider educating your staff on the passport cancellation stamp, and updating the actual stamp: it only goes to year 2021. This is a popular hobby with some people and we tend to nerd-out a bit when we visit locations with this option.
Thanks!

We are Harvest Host members and this was a great stop over in our RV. Large parking lot. Some road noise but didn't bother us, we still got a good night's sleep. Enjoyed the museum very much. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the talk and seeing the 2 bald eagles who are permanent residents there. Views were spectacular.

I like museums in general, so take my excitement with a grain of salt!
This museum was super fun! The sections were mainly dedicated to the PNW and history (geological and human) of the Gorge. I really loved it! These sections covered Ice Age & how it shaped the current day Columbia Gorge, native American history of the Gorge, Lewis and Clark expedition, recreation of little pieces like camera, car, boats, etc. that were once used in this gorgeous Gorge. I easily spent close to two hours here.
They also have a kids section which I didn’t really checkout. I loved the small owl enclosure! There are 3 enclosures, but I could see only one owl. The museum gift shop has some interesting trinkets, many of which seem to be made locally. Do checkout the walkways surrounding the center! There are some great views out at the back!
There is a fee of 9$ for adults. Also, there is plenty of parking at the center!

Not too big museum. Pretty nice, no birds of prey /raptors unfortunaly and the AC was not working, so to me the balance of value for money was not right also for how big the exhibitions are. Exhibitions are really nice although.

Wonderful exhibits, great for adults and kids, lots of accessible and visual information about Lewis and Clark and their travels as well as native flora fauna. Loved the enormous mamoth!
Most Beautiful Day of the Year!
Ben was our adventure guide and Mark the owner was our backup and cameraman for this wonderful White Salmon River Middle Gorge run. Ben was an amazing guide and glad we got him and his 25yrs of running the river experience and history of the area. We did 360's and backwards down some of the rapids and the class 4 stuff was amazingly fun. Couldn't have picked a better service that Zoller's and Mark and his family are so friendly and easy to do this. We are definitely coming back later in the year to run the upper and lower river. Definitely made our buddies 50th birthday the best ever!
Thanks Ben and Mark

This is the best rafting company in my opinion. You can really tell they value you as a customer. They have a dedicated starting point which is super convenient. Our group of 7 were all mostly first time rafters and we had a great experience with them. They emphasize on safety while having a fun experience. Our group were mostly young adults but this place is great with families with children too. Our guide Casey was awesome. He's knowledgeable and experienced. He made our group feel reassured. Very personable. And I love the mini concert as we go through the calmer waters. I would love to have him as our guide the next time we come back for more rafting adventures! All in all, from ample parking area, swift check in, great rafting adventure to fun ride back to the starting point, this is a great experience! I highly recommend Zoller's and Casey!

This rafting company was wonderful if I could give them more stars I would! The facilities are magical, the guides are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly love what they do. Our guide Ben was great. My mother was uneasy as this was her first rafting trip he was accommodating and she ended up loving it and now wants to return! 10 out of 10 recommend!

I booked this trip the night before and it was immediately confirmed ✅
Not only was this experience way more comfortable than expected, Casey and Mark led our groups with genuine care and expertise. 💕
I’ve never had more fun with new friends, the guides included. 🤣 We sang, cracked jokes, observed an otter and multiple raptors/waterfowl, cheered, and worked together as a team to create an unforgettable memory I will cherish forever.
We went the first week in April in 51 degree weather with rain. 🌧️ rain or shine this experience is totally underpriced.
The clean wetsuits and triple layer of gear they provide kept us warm and mostly dry even when water splashed us. When I took my fleece off it was dry. My water boots were brand new so they definitely invest in their guests. 💦
All 10 of us never fell out or lost anything. Before we pushed our boats off, the guides made sure we were comfortable and understood what to do in multiple scenarios and allowed us to practice techniques for upcoming challenges during the calmer portions preceding their arrival allowing us to enjoy it successfully! 🌊
It wasn’t just a check on my bucket list ☑️; it’s a new hobby I am grateful for 🙏🏽
I will definitely be back to experience more of the river with Casey and Mark! 🚣♂️

I can’t get enough! A group of friends took me to Zoller’s several years ago and since then I’ve tried to bring everyone I can to share in the awesomeness that is Zoller’s and rafting the White Salmon! I will be making my 6th trip down from the Seattle area this July and cannot wait. The staff is absolutely AMAZING…from the front desk to the guides…everyone is kind, knowledgeable, FUN, and truly interested in making your trip the best ever. The facilities are clean, sharp, well equipped with everything you need and prepared before you arrive. The river is intense from the moment you “drop in” and leaves you perfectly satisfied…enough thrill to keep your blood pumping, but a dab of leisure and a little sightseeing and history (corny jokes😂) from your guide. Driving from Seattle makes it a long day, but it is always a great day. July can’t get here soon enough.

Amazing experience, amazing staff. We had the privilege of having Jenny as our guide. The process was smooth, straightforward, and they got us down to water asap so we could enjoy as much time as possible on the river.
Jenny gave a lovely blend of tutorial lessons, history info, geology info, and gave some awesome chats about the local food scene, animal life, and the like.
A thrilling blend of adrenaline, beautiful natural scenery, physical exercise, laughs/jokes, and personal triumph.
We will be back! Highly reccomend.

Pretty good service. Well organized. Good value. Very good equipment. River was nice. Not too challenging. In our case, we had a nervous guide who chastised us early and often killing any joy we may have experienced. I thought it was just me until after when my kids said something similar.

We traveled from Oklahoma to do this specific rafting experience on my 50th birthday! Amazing experience with Chris and Clark! This was our second time to raft with Zoller’s, and it was even better than the last! The rafting is exhilarating and beautiful! Personal touches to include stopping to drink natural spring water from rocks and picking/eating fresh blackberries, all while rafting through the most beautifully scenic river with crazy fun rapids and Husum Falls! Chris was skilled and knowledgeable and pointed out so many interesting facts along the way. Thanks again Zoller’s for an amazing experience! We will be back!

Stop looking and book with them, thank me later. It’s really not just a business, they work so well together this place feels more like a strong community. This was a turn key trip for us with everything we needed, provided and at a great price point. Despite losing his voice the owner Mark (and our driver) was clearly enthusiastic and passionate about making sure everyone had a good time. Cody our guide was a true adventurer but with a strong appreciation for the dangers of the river. She helped the boat feel like it was a team even though we didn’t know each other and by the end of the trip we felt that way. While those are the names I recall, the front desk, other guides and safety boat all were more than helpful and friendly. I want to go back and do another tour as a write this, or maybe go be a guide myself!

I love this company, it’s such a comfortable environment. Booking a trip feels like you are being invited into their living room, adorable grandchildren included. While very personable they still maintain a comfortable, professional environment.
Mark, the owner is expanding his horizons and getting into the matchmaking business as well. When I first was checking in, I asked if we could request an outgoing guide. I was told they all were; but he was excited, saying that he had two potentials for us, both single and in college. When our name was called for our guide, he told him “good luck with these ones”.
Well, matchmaking might work out for him because Sean was the perfect fit for us. We immediately felt so comfortable with him and got along great. He was an incredible guide, spitting facts like an old man of the river. During a calmer spot, we were so engrossed in our conversation we almost forgot we were on the river.
Disappointment was fraught when the trip came to an end, but that quickly faded with the excited planning of another adventure with you all (and obsessing over every detail of our previous journey).
Having rafted with this company before, I was excited to share the incredible experience with my friends, who were newbies. It’s safe to say that none of them went home disappointed. In fact, I think they are all convinced that they should become river guides themselves.
One thing I can say as a fact if you are wondering if you should go with this company or another one; the river will be the same one, it’s the people that make the experience. Zoller’s has the people that will take your river trip to the next level. Also they have phenomenal changing rooms, which add to the comfort of the experience. (Flushing toilets are a bonus too!)
Also, if you could print this out and put it into Sean’s guidebook that would be great.😁 I was too distracted to write something good in there.

Wow! One of my top experiences ever! Chris our guide was amazing … I can’t say enough about him and the rest of the crew at Zoller’s. I know that Clark wasn’t the guide of my boat, but he did much of the pre-training and prep to get us ready for the river. He was instrumental in making our trip wonderful too.
Chris knew the river, stories about the river, and the history behind it and shared it as we went down.
We went on the upper, middle, lower, and lower lower. It was the only way to go- Do the whole thing!
We got to do some great little trail walks too…in the hairy sections that are not safe to raft down- fun little surprise! Loved them! We also got to cliff jump into the icy water lol. I hate cold, but because they gear you up so well - it really isn’t nearly as bad as one would think.
They made us a delicious lunch, nothing fancy, as we all had sandwiches, but the flavors were really great and fresh! We were also given chips and chocolate chip cookies, oh and water. Plenty to eat.
We were able to go over a waterfall, which I highly recommend- while cold on your face it was worth the plunge. They take pics of you when you go over the falls too and those are great to look at afterwards.
I seriously can’t say enough positive about this trip. So glad we did it and even more glad that it was with my daughter and this outfit in particular. Their experience shines through every step of the way!
You will not regret it - take the drive, flight, and make it happen!

Honestly this place was so much fun! Apparently we hit it at the best time as all the snow is melting and making the water a lot stronger and be higher than usual! Ben was one of the best guides I’ve had! He had a lot of knowledge of the area that we were in and kept us entertained and safe! We hit the middle gorge which is only 3.5-4hrs long; depending on the speed of the water, for us it lasted around 2 hrs (that’s how strong the current was) made it a lot more exciting!

We were back on Saturday for our third trip of the season which was greatly enjoyed. (With Sean as our guide, you surely know why.)
I keep thinking, “just one more trip and I’ll be done till next year”, and then it’s over and I’m already wanting to go back.
Sorry Zoller’s, you’ll be seeing more of me. I’m hooked.
White Salmon was truly showing off that day, with a shroud of mist adding an air of mystery to her lush green banks.
With the sun behind the clouds, the trip was a little chilly and coincidentally my swims in the river went down by 300%. I do truly promise that they were all by accident, though Sean seems to think otherwise. (I’m just thankful he continues to put up with our antics.)
Mark personally picked us up from the ending point, and the fun continued on the bus ride back. But he would’ve had to pull out all the stops to beat Casey’s songs on the fart bus.
I purchased my new favorite shirt at ‘the largest selection of Zoller’s gear in the world’, and I’ll be seen wearing it constantly from now on as it’s the comfiest thing ever (and quite cute). I highly encourage you to check their stuff out.
Last time I gave Sean the nickname old man of the river for all his facts, but I’ve changed it to our fearless leader. And I think his pose while taking on rattlesnake cements it😁.

The Mount Hood Railroad is a heritage railway line that offers picturesque excursions against the stunning backdrop of Mt. Hood. Visitors can experience the beauty of the mountains in all their splendor, particularly during fall when the colors are vibrant and varied. The train ride is known for its tranquil atmosphere and offers prepared meals for passengers to enjoy along the way. It's a popular tourist attraction suitable for all ages, including picky teenagers looking for an enjoyable and peaceful experience.
It was such a beautiful scenic train ride. I think fall is the best time to be up in the mountains. With all the beautiful different colors.

I received this experience for my birthday from my daughter and son-in-law! We went today and had a wonderful time! Perfect weather, wonderful scenery, great staff! The e-bike feature made the experience easy and relaxing. We stopped at a winery for 35 minutes or so and that was nice. A fruit store/gift shop is across the parking lot.
Richard was a very kind leader and shared some nice history about the area.
Highly recommend this adventure!

So much fun! A great way to see hood river from a unique perspective. Enough of the route is shaded and you move pretty quickly so fun to do even if it's hot. You stop for 45min at the fruit company so we had time to taste wine at the winery next door. Everyone was super friendly and the guides
were really into making sure that you had a good time. If you don't want to pedal the bikes are electric so you can sit back and zoom along!

This was a great adventure. We did this on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The advertised description is spot on. We enjoyed beautiful views while experiencing rail bikes. It’s a unique experience that is great for a group, an afternoon with friends or for a romantic date. My advice is take a picnic lunch and beverage of choice, don’t forget the picnic blanket (there are tables outside at the winery if the picnic blanket is not for you). Don’t forget the sunscreen and your camera. They do sell cheese, salami and fruit at the fruit company but unless you bring a knife, cutting board, etc. it makes it a challenge to eat.
Our crew were very nice and helpful making sure were comfortable.
We had the best day, I can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I had an absolute blast on the rail bikes. Our guide was excellent and just delightful (make sure you bring a 'Dad joke' with you for sharing) as were the rest of the support staff who went along, turned the bikes around on the tracks and generally made sure we were all clear on how things worked and the bikes were functioning properly, helped if there were questions / issues.
I'm 66 and I'll certify it's true that most anyone can go on the rail bikes with no issues. My husband and I do exercise regularly, that said... you can pedal or not. The bikes have a throttle (not like an electric bike, it is not assisted pedaling) and you can just ride along if that's what you want to do. We enjoyed the pedaling. The one thing we weren't clear on was that there is a nice bin at the front of each bike for you to put your stuff in and it will hold quite a bit of 'stuff'. That makes it nice when you get to the mid point where the fruit store and winery are and you just can't leave without a couple bottles of your favorite whatever or some special treats for someone special back home.
We had a perfect day weather-wise, it was warm and breezy. It can get hot and on those days the rail bikes will be less fun but most of the track is shaded so you'd be fine.
The fruit store / museum is fun... and the winery is a great stop to enjoy a glass of wine / treat. We had taken the noon bike ride so when we got to this point a glass of rose and some almonds made the perfect treat while sitting in the shade and appreciating the beauty of Mt Hood rising in the distance. Gorgeous.

The photos on the website did not describe the reality of this train ride. It showed plates of cookies, everyone holding endless mugs of coco, robust and luxurious decor, a beautiful, sparkling bust Christmas town, and this sense of magic. The train was sparse, it was 1 cookie on 1 napkin, with 1 coco, and a very sad cast of characters dressed in ostumes with a very impersonal overhead speakers reading to an audience held hostage on a very slow train ride. IF LUNCH or DINNER were served then at least it'd be senicly worth it!

What an awesome experience during this 45 minute train ride to the pear orchards at Pine Grove. The gift shop and museum in the old fruit company was fantastic. My colleague and I sampled a bottle of the pear wine at the winery next door and it was delicious. The enthusiasm that Andy the conductor exhibited was very refreshing. I really enjoyed this trip and plan to bring my friends up for another ride. Special shout out to our hostesses Riba and Vetta. They were very helpful and a hoot to chat with. Thank you Mt. We were so excited for the Christmas Train experience for years now, and finally, the opportunity came for my family. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of our expectations, leaving us with more frustrations than anything.
Our disappointment began with the delayed start, pushing the entire experience back by over an hour. For parents with young children, it is crucial to met expectations and be on time. To make matters worse, the event extended an additional hour beyond the advertised duration, leaving our little ones tired, grump and hungry.
The train itself was dated, and the lack of activities left the children bored for the majority of the journey (they got a coloring book to keep them occupied). We had hoped for a display of Christmas lights along the way, but the only lights came when we reached "Santa's workshop".
When we booked our tickets, It highly suggest paying for parking in advance, which we did. Surprisingly, there was no verification or inquiry about our parking payment and our VIP parking was at the very end of the parking lot with everyone else, this was an unnecessary expense adding to our frustration.
In conclusion, the Christmas Train fell short of delivering the enchanting experience we had envisioned. The character experience lasted a whole 10 minutes. The combination of a late start, extended duration on the train, dated train and lack of festive decor made it a regrettable outing. For the high cost involved, we expected a seamless, magical journey for our kids, but instead, it turned into a lengthy ordeal that tested their patience and ours. We asked if they wanted to do it again next year (joking of course) and both my 6 year old and 9 year old said “No”.

This was our first time on this train trip. It was nice--not extremely scenic until you got to the orchards, but a very pleasant ride. The Premier club car was very comfortable. The staff was great--especially loved the Conductor--he was the perfect fit for the role. The stop at Pear Orchard was a nice break. Hubby sampled some of the wine at their winery.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to clean the outside of the windows because they were a bit hard to take pictures out of. Of course, this is a very old train and maybe the windows are a clear as they can get.

The trip was ok. There isn’t that much scenery as there are trees on both sides and limited view of Hood River.
Unfortunately you can no longer get off the train to shop. The staff are very friendly and courteous and they get 5 stars. I purchased my tickets online and that process was smooth.
I just don’t think it’s worth the price however understand that it’s expensive to keep the train running, and the tracks cleared, pay salaries, and other upkeep and maintenance.
The pre-recorded history about the Hood River Valley was excellent.
The overall trip was about an hour and a half.

I took the family on the railbikes and had a blast! It's a unique way to experience the beauty of the Hood River Valley. You start in Hood River and go through forests, over bridges, waterfalls, and pass by orchards in the valley. Then, at the top of the hill, you visit The Fruit Company, where they give you a free picture and snacks. It's a perfect stop to pick up some souvenirs and relax for a minute before hopping on the bike and flying back down the track! We will be going again.

When is the last time you genuinely had young kid excitement? Mt. Hood Railroad delivers this in spades on their e-rail bike adventure. Pedaling on the tracks, with all the e-assist you could want, was so much fun. The scenery, the history of the track, and the adventure up to The Fruit Company (who is rumored to be extending the track up into Parkdale - - - PLEASE do this!!!) were incredible.
Your halfway point leaves you options to tour the museum, get some fresh fruit, enjoy some of the snacks they provide, try some great wines from Mt. Hood Winery, and just soak up the mountain views! Yes, plural as Hood shines to the south and Adams from the North.
From there back it's essentially all down hill with the biggest smile on your face.

What a fabulous new experience on the Mt Hood Railroad--the Phantom of the Rails Halloween Train! We took the 4:00 train, which was awesome because the Fall colors in the Hood River Valley were in full display. The seats were super comfortable, the views incredible, the staff super nice... and the actors were fantastic! They did an excellent job. Such a creative event... with acting on the train and also at our final destination (The Fruit Company). We were thoroughly entertained, with the perfect mix of spook and humor. Next up were the zombie dancers and they were amazing! Such incredible talent... and the make up--WOW! We also got a chance to look through the Fruit Company Store, try some apple cider, take in the view of Mt Hood & Mt Adams (INCREDIBLE) and more. My next trip will be on the 7:00 train to experience what the performances are like when it's dark outside. This is definitely a trip worth doing. Something unique & fun!

The arrival time (1 hour prior to boarding) was buried in the FAQs on the website, so when we arrived, we had missed the actual boarding. Staff were very gracious in getting us rescheduled and directing us to the nearest coffee shop to await the train.
The train was warm, spacious; the actors portraying elves and Santa were entertaining and engaged the Littles. The drinks were over-priced for the quality (as expected when in captive-audience situations).
Overall, it was a good experience, especially for young children.

I went on the new Halloween train and it was SO amazing. I rode on the 4:00pm train ride so the fall colors were so beautiful. When we got to the Fruit company they had a fall themed store and the best part of all was a Halloween themed flash mob. The whole time we were kept entertained by all the amazing actors on and off the train. I would love to go again on the 7:00pm train to get the full spooky experience but I am so glad I went in the day so I could see all the sights. They offered food and drinks on and off the train for purchase. I think that anyone who comes to Hood River this fall should take a ride on the Mt. Hood Railroad.

We just finished our very first Phantom Train Halloween excursion! It was a blast, the actors were amazing, the atmosphere was spooky without going overboard, and it was an enjoyable evening. The only recommendation that I would have had would be to open the bar completely and provide more food (You will want to eat before you take this excursion as the snack tray is not enough to be considered a meal.) It can be a bit costly if you do the VIP tour but no more so than any other adventure.

Celebrated my birthday with friends by doing a railbike tour. We had a blast. It was a beautiful day with spectacular views of Mt Adams and Mt. Hood. I was a little chilly in the breeze going downhill thru the forest overlooking Whiskey Creek. Our tour guide, Avi, was excellent. She took a few photos for our group. We liked that she gave enough history and dad jokes to keep us entertained. Even though I'm from Portland, this would be a fun activity for families with kids or out of town guests.

Very fun for kids! We took the Polar Express holiday themed train ride just before Christmas and had so much fun. You will encounter fairy’s and elf’s and a gingerbread man aboard the train. Along with lots of dancing and singing while also being served hot chocolate and a cookie. The train ride was best at night because you get to see the Christmas lights as you approach “Santa clause’s house at the North Pole”. Santa and Mrs. Clause even aboard the train and took pictures with the kiddos. The ride last about 1hr 20min. Parking is right out front of the station, purchase online in advance. Enjoy and Happy holidays! 🎄👍

Amazing summer snowboarding! Although the majority of the mountain was exposed volcanic ash, there were a decent amount of trails with slushy/playful snow. Park set-ups were a great playground to practice new tricks and perfect old ones. Never in my life did I think I would get to snowboard in a t-shirt. Incredibly memorable vacation.

Mount Hood, Oregon,USA. The mountain stands tall in the area around it for many miles alone and it is from volcanic origin. A must see area even if you are 100 miles away. There are a lot of trail around it and it is a magnet for hikers of the area. Not to be missed. Two highway run south and east of it. Driving those two highways gives you a sense of how big is it.

From the first time I traveled to Portland Oregon, to visit my Grandmother. She owned a house at the edge of a park on Mt. Tabor, I have admired the beauty of this gorgeous dormant volcano that rises up above the Columbia River Gorge. If you have never been you really need to experience it up close and personal. The violent way that this region was built has given us these awe-inspiring extremely beautiful landscapes. As always leave it better than you found it for generations to come, enjoy 😉

Summited Mt. Hood with two friends on July 24, 2022 up the Old Chute Route. It was a challenging and rewarding experience!
We got to the Timberline Lodge around 7PM on 7/23 and got our wilderness passes from the Wy’East Lodge. Make sure you bring headlamps, trekking poles, an ice axe and crampons! You will likely need all of those things to reach the top.
We slept in a van in the parking lot until 2AM. Once we woke up, we made some instant coffee and headed to the mountain. We hiked for about 2 hours until we reached a place where our boots were slipping in the snow. That’s where we put on crampons. We used crampons for pretty much the rest of the climb.
We reached the summit of Old Chute around 6:45AM. Once we made it to the top, we ate a quick snack and took some pictures. Then, we started the descent.
We got back to the van around 12PM. All told, we were on the mountain for about 10 hours. It was a fantastic time, and quite challenging! If you’re planning on summiting, make sure you do some research beforehand. We rented mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axes and helmets from “The Mountain Shop” in Portland. This is definitely a climb where you want the right kind of gear.

Climbed it for the first time last weekend. Being a holiday it was more crowded and I think took longer than normal. Still, easy enough climb up until the final ascent where it gets technical. Only had 1 ice ax and definitely wish I had two

This is right next to the Timberline Lodge (which is a must-visit place, the history of that place is incredible). The mountain view is breathtaking and makes you appreciate nature and sparks your curiosity. We spent some time walking around soaking in the view and taking pictures. Then we visited the lodge and learned so much about the amazing history of that place.

In the first days of our trip, we took nature walks around Mount Hood and enjoyed it very much, we had a very enjoyable time, we took hundreds of photos of the waterfall. Then we saw such neat places and had such different experiences that when we look back, my wife said that it was like a municipal cultural park here, next to the others. In the end, I'm posting this here by saying that every photo with a combination of mountain, stone, water, family is worth sharing 😬❤️
It felt pretty cool to walk in the woods on snow again. It made me start thinking about winter adventures to be had again, soon. ❄ 😊💙

The city of Mt Hood and the huge mountain itself is just off of the Columbia River which separates Washington State from Oregon. There is snow at its peak 365 days a year and it’s huge! This is a great place to visit or stay. The city of My Hood is situated just west of The Dalles Oregon and is a quaint little town and the mountain is just south of the city. There are hotels, Airbnb, small pubs and a microbrewery downtown. Plenty of things to do such as hiking around Mt Hood Park, off road driving the fire trails around the mountain, fishing for sturgeon in the Columbia, visiting and touring the dam and local parks to enjoy the outside weather. There are giant waterfalls nearby and just across the Hood River bridge, there’s a little town called White Salmon Washington located way up on the hill overlooking the city of Mt Hood. There are restaurants and pubs and a small grocery store there as well. You can’t purchase alcohol on Sunday in Washington State but you can in Oregon! It only took me about five minutes to figure that out when I lived there back in 2018. All in all this is no doubt one of the most beautiful places to visit or live in the country. There’s nothing like the forests of the Pacific Northwest! Just have to be careful not to disturb Bigfoot!

Really beautiful area. Great to hike!! Try to use byroads, it is well worth it. Bring plenty of water with you and make sure you have a full tank of gas. Service areas are sparse and few AND close really early. This is a must see at least once in your life!! The whole area is beautiful!!

Mt. Hood is always very nice experience. Picturesque view, pleasant weather, nice trails. Parking in this area is slightly inconvenient, and essentially no place to eat, but those factors should not affect the rating of a place that is meant for hiking/mountain climbing.

Great beautiful mountain I saw it all the way, and we got closer right at the Timberline Lodge. Amazingly, the ski resort was still open and operating normally. The mountain looks even better when you are right there. A very nice stop and great view here at the lodge. You can also see another snow covered mountain from the lodge -- Mt. Adams of Washington. Very worth to have a stop here and enjoy the great mountain view.
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is a natural preserve featuring an iconic 80-mile long and 4,000-ft. deep canyon along the Columbia River. It is home to unique wildlife and spectacular mile-deep basalt lava flows that attract visitors from all over the world. The area is renowned for its stunning waterfalls, including Multnomah Falls, which are among the most beautiful in the world.
Always love visiting here! Now, I'm working out here! I get to experience this beauty daily now. Road construction is beginning on I84, lasting until mid November 2022. Be aware and slow down and move over. Help keep us safe!

The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is one of the most spectacular and underrated areas in the United States. The scenic gorge is home to many spectacular waterfalls, the most spectacular and popular being Multnomah Falls right along I-84, not to be missed. You may need a permit for the waterfall corridor, the most popular area in the park. We recommend stopping at the other waterfalls and taking the trails to get away from other visitors, especially above Horsetail Falls and the other waterfalls. Other areas that our worth a visit in the park is the Old Historic Highway (first dedicated scenic highway every built in the United States) and Vista House.

Must stop along the stretch of road that has so much to offer! Free entry, best view of the river by far. The vista house viewpoint is what is in my pictures below, no hike— just a windy road and a parking lot.

This is a must see part of Oregon. We drove into the gorge on Historic Hwy 30 (Google maps wanted us to take the freeway but we were told Historic 30 was the more scenic route). The drive itself was beautiful. We stopped at three waterfalls along the way and hiked their trails. It was a great day!

There are no words to describe how absolutely beautiful the Columbia River Gorge is. Videos and photos give you a glimpse, but you really need to experience it for yourself. It is truly the diamond of the Pacific Northwest. Seriously, I have never found such scenic beauty and serenity in nature ever.
I 100% plan to spend alot of time up and down the Washington and Oregon side of the Scenic River Gorge this summer considering it's my absolute favorite place to go hiking. I love Multnomah Falls, Hamilton Mountain, Larch Mountain, Beacon Rock, The Bridge of the gods, Cape Horn, Horsetail Falls, Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls; seriously, I could go on for days with naming specific places, but I won't, I will just make sure to share with you all of the upcoming hikes I have planned. I am excited just thinking about it!!
If you love nature like most who live in Washington and Oregon do, you definitely will not be disappointed.🤙🏼
Here is a fun fact (or 2, lol): There are over 90 breathtaking waterfalls alone along the Columbia River Gorge. It's an 80 mile long spectacular river canyon. A MUST SEE!

The scenic area is paid to enter. Tickets are sold in time-course. The number of tickets for each hour is limited. If you go during a busy time, buying the $2 ticket in advance is recommended. Great river for all water sports from fishing to skiing and more.
Great beaches, some great sight seeing areas. Camping options. Clean, runs fast at times, so be careful, stay in the channels, which are well marked.

Beautiful scenery. Amazing water falls. Excellent trails. Several nice campgrounds, both state park & national forest run. You need an OR state park pass &/or an national interagency pass (America the Beautiful or Northwest Forest) for parking at many of the the trailheads or day use areas. Or you can purchase a day use pass for $5-10 depending on area.
The only negatives are the extremely crowded popular areas & the constant noise of a major interstate highway combined with a heavily used freight railway. Bring your ear plugs if you plan on camping in the gorge!

This is hands down my 2nd most favorite Oregon scene! The old highway through the gorge starting at the Vista House is my absolute favorite drive especially during fall season. Timberline Lodge is a retreat situated at the bottom of Mt. Hood, offering accommodations in both 1930s-style lodge rooms and rustic chalets. With an outdoor pool on offer, guests can relax and take in the beautiful scenery around them. The dining options available provide an opportunity for guests to satisfy their hunger after observing skiers during summer ski activities or engaging in winter sports like skiing or snowboarding if they have made prior reservations.
Took my wife to Mt. Hood for our anniversary. It was a hot Pandemic July and we wanted to get away. It was a little pricey, but not more than you'd expect for the location. It's a proper log-cabin lookin place with all wood everything. Our room was cozy and cute.
Went to the restaurant. The food was excellent and cooked properly. I'm often not impressed with destination food, but I was pleasantly surprised here.
We visited all the historical stuff in the building, hiked around the remaining snow (in July), and got rained on. It was the perfect Portland day.

This place is absolutely amazing. Finally had a chance to stop here on my way to Bend, and I'm so happy I did. The whole lodge has such a warm vibe of history, and is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Everything is super clean and immaculately maintained. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and can't be beat. The lodge sits so high on top of the mountain it literally sits above the clouds you drive through before you reach the parking lot. I can't wait to come here and stay for the weekend. What an incredible place!!

Went during the summer 7/6/23. Still some small patches of snow near lodge.
It's spectacular yet homey feeling. Being on a mountain the location is great.
I wandered around looking at artwork and such 👍.
I took a quick video of a room that the staff had just worked on. No idea if it's average or not.
RE: Accessibility... I think they have elevators, lifts, and ramps to get everywhere, but it's an old building so figure on it being complex.

I don't think I have to say much about the historic Timberline Lodge. Staying here was a great experience. The place has a good energy in it, and not to forget, the cool Mount Hood view on the back. And a giant hot pool. One part I didn't like was the Cascade Dining Room - the service was good, but it has very limited food choices, and that too not that great. If we are paying this much, we expect better food.

Chill ski area. On weekdays, it's not too crowded and the lifts are efficient. There is not much advanced terrain, but it's an awesome hill for learners and cruisers. On calm days with good visibility, they will open up the Magic Mile and Palmer Cat Ski options. Those are great fun. I like to ski here during the day, then pop across the highway to ski nights at SkiBowl.

My family and I absolutely loved this place! We visited in October and the weather was amazing. Traveling along the Columbia River Gorge we were comfortable in light clothing like long sleeve shirts. Once we started making the drive up to the Timberline Lodge, the roads were covered in snow! It's such a cool winding drive up to the lodge. The lodge is old but it has so much character to it. The design on the inside is really neat with a gorgeous fireplace, delicious apple crisp, and a heated outdoor pool.

Amazing holiday experience! We loved it so much that we just booked our stay for next Christmas and look forward to making this an annual tradition. As someone in the hospitality industry who can have high expectations I must say that Timberline exceeded mine. The staff are attentive and friendly, the historic lodge is absolutely beautiful and unique. We loved how cozy everything is and chatting with all of the other guests, it almost has a summer camp feel, like you are staying with extended family (in a good way:). Add in the holiday decorations, roaring fires and lodge dogs and you feel like you’re wrapped in a big Christmas hug. Thank you to that staff for working over the holidays and doing so cheerfully, we can’t wait to come back! 🎄❤️

We were in room 224, two single beds for 3 nights. It is a beautiful lodge with awesome views. We stayed here solely to hike Mt Hood summit. We had to leave at 1:30 AM to start hike so we were trying to get rest from 5:30 to midnight. However, the service stairs are right behind the wall so all we could hear was employees running up and down the stairs until at least 9:00. We did not receive any room service, even though we put out our sign. Also, room did not have microwave or fridge so we could not heat water up to make tea at midnight. BUT thank goodness for Aaron, who works the front desk. BEST employee ever. He managed to acquire an electric pot so we could heat up water. He was so helpful and kind... in fact, everyone we dealt with was very nice, but Aaron went the extra mile. Also, the hot tub was down for repair, which we were informed of in advance, but it would have been nice for when we returned from our climb.

I only visited the hotel and had lunch at one of their restaurant. I did not enjoy the restaurant (Cascade Dining), but this is a separate review. The hotel is a great place to visit. The views are very beautiful. You can see Mt Hood and Mt Jefferson. My wife and I were there during summer, so at this time you can also hike up Mt Hood for a while. It is definitely worth a visit. A plus for the fans of The Shining to see the views of one of the places that the movie was filmed.

This is a beautiful place in a gorgeous location. But it is also outrageously expensive; food, drinks, etc. For $30.00 per person, you should be including Eggs Benedict in the breakfast buffet. It shouldn't need to be added on for another $6.00 per person. Also, every other breakfast buffet I have been to offers an omelet station.
We paid full price, less a 15% military discount, (much appreciated). The pool and hot tub were closed, so I can only give an overall rating of 3 stars. Sorry, but for $340.00 per night, all amenities should be functional. If not, adjust the rate to reflect the lack of amenities. We would definitely go back, but not until all services and amenities are available.

The front desk staff was awesome and went above and beyond to help us solve a car problem. Truly top-tier service. They were so friendly. Thank you again.
I also loved that the hotel was celebrating halloween. They had memorabilia from The Shining, a movie screening, and candy for the guests. It was very cool!

Spent thanksgiving with my family for the first time here. Timberline is absolutely beautiful so it’s worth it to stay the night but overall quite outdated which makes the cost a little too high for my liking, considering the main attraction amenities weren’t available so we’re comped breakfast which was generous, though I had to ask. We got a nice room with a gorgeous view but the bathroom was tight, you could hear all conversations through the wall and outside in the hallway which was bothersome when you’re trying to relax in a cute cabin. The TV was tiny, if you considered that a TV, more like a PC. Otherwise, everyone who worked there was very lovely and kind.

Long drive, even longer time to find parking. Parking was not well marked, resulting in a parking warning. Very fortunate vehicle to not get towed.
Stopped in to get a coffee and see the view. If that's all you're doing, keep in mind it is a bit of an obstacle course up there so be prepared.
The view is amazing.

Beautiful, historic lodge with skiing nearby and an amazing view of the mountain. This place really needs no introduction. You're obviously paying for the location and the history if you stay here, but you don't need to stay here to visit. You can experience the beauty of Mount Hood without staying here, and you can also eat here without staying here. That said, it's a cool place to stay if you're up for it. The best part is the huge amounts of snow here in the winter.

I made a stop here during a road trip because of the historical value in The Shining. But I was not prepared for the much more significant history inside the hotel, the notable guest list, and the rich interior architecture. I had a clean room on the west end of the hotel with a nice view outside. The sauna is nice, the restaurant had excellent food. I will absolutely be back.

Excellent, historic, impressive hotel, but expensive, especially the restaurant. However, the restaurant's waiters, both nights we ate there, were some of the best - affable, knowledgeable, and fun. The food was fantastic, too. The front desk staff were not very aligned on what time ski tickets could be sold, and charged us different amounts the two times I went there. The rooms were rustic and nice, and appeared to have been redone or remodeled. The lodge itself is tremendous. I only give it 4 stars as it is very expensive.

Enjoy an overnight stay during the week days to take advantage of lower prices. Expect rustic and cozy accommodations from the lodge because this is not a five star but more like a three star setup. However, the location is extremely beautiful and the lodge is a fantastic hangout. Service is exceptionally friendly and helpful. There are decent places to have lunch and dinner at the Cascade Dining Hall or Rams Head bar. Avoid the huckleberry margarita due to the syrup is fake huckleberry not actual fruit. The food is moderate to high cost. Take the Zigzag trail for a relatively easy walk with outstanding views. Folks will have a memorable stay regardless if they are there for the day or staying the night.

Had an amazing dinner with my girlfriends at the Cascade dining room. We did the Chefs Table experience which made us feel like VIPs as we tasted unique culinary delights. The chef and his staff came out to describe their masterpieces. Everything was well executed and delicious. We were worried about our icy walk back to our car and asked the front desk their advice, the hotel manager was nice enought to get our car for us. He probably saved some broken bones that night!

The food here is always great. Fresh and high quality ingredients. We recently ate here on a Saturday when there was a major football game on in the bar and some sort of bicycling event at the lodge. The place was packed. We still got a table in under 15 minutes and although the wait for food was slightly longer, they gave us a heads up and were super professional and friendly throughout the service. Never seemed overwhelmed. The food was still as delicious as usual. The views here are amazing. For a truly peaceful experience, try coming here on a weekday in an off-season. The fire is crackling downstairs, the architecture of the giant wood beams and stone chimney are relaxing to take in. The cold-weather treats like hot cocoa are brought in glass mugs with a large swirl of whip cream. Everything is aesthetically pleasing.

They say all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Luckily for me, theres much play to be had here. A nice, secluded venue that has fun for the whole family. It has a fun hedge maze outside and even some cool snowmobiles to drive in the winter. It is so cozy too! It feels like I've been here forever and know what's around every turn. The ballroom is a highlight, as it seems to always be hosting some event. For the parents, the bar serves its famous Red Rum after 5! If you want even more partying, make sure to check out Room 237. The resident in there always has her door open and people shout from in there all night long. Sounds like a lot of fun! Near the end of our stay, my dad seemed a little off, but it must've been because he enjoyed the place so much and hated to see it go. I really could spend a whole 5 months here, and I'm dying to come back!

Beautiful historic location for our work event. Not the best road conditions considering the ice storm the days prior, but they had a shuttle available if needed. Very cool visit! The catered dinner was phenomenal! The prime ribe was awesome.

I cannot speak for the rooms or service, as I have never stayed the night here, but I have been to the lobby of the Timberline Lodge, and it is amazing. This is a historic landmark. Started my climb of Mount Hood with Timberline Guides here. They are generous enough to let those of us who are too cheap to get a room to sleep in the parking lot the night before (was getting up at 12:30 AM to meet the group, so $260 was a little much for half a night for me). Bathrooms are sparkling clean. Folks at the front desk were friendly as well. Even if you are not staying the night, do check out the lobby. A magnificent piece of architecture. Look forward to actually staying the night here in the future.

Great location!! Love that can go directly to slopes from the room. Space can be cramped, especially for families. The hospitality room which has space for family board games and movies as well as coffee and hot chocolate is only open for the two holiday weeks around Christmas. The other public areas in the lodge are often very crowded with non-hotel guests, so not usually possible to find comfortable family hang out space otherwise.

Trillium lake is a beautiful spot to get amazing photos of Mt. Hood. It is also nice for some fishing with some 20”+ trout swimming in there. About an hour from Portland. It is used pretty heavily, and people suck, so it isn’t the cleanest area. You will find some bottles floating around with some trash here and there, but it isn’t trashed.
Must happened to be a rare, beautiful first week in October where it was in the 80’s and the skies were about as clear as can be.

John Carlsen — Google review
We went to Trillium Lake on a recommendation as it was a great place for the best views of Mt. Hood. On our day, there was a light rain and low clouds so we didn’t see the whole mountain.
But we did see a lot of fishermen and people eating their lunch at the picnic tables, and a few paddle borders. Lots of dog walkers too.
There was a day fee of $10 but I only had a $20, so the park has extra funds.
We’d go back again.

Gorgeous time to spend near Mount Hood. One can see the reflections of Mount Hood in the lake and spend a quality time near the Mount Hood. Day pass is $10.

Lake Trillium is a little slice of serenity with breathtaking views of Mt. Hood. There is a campground , picnic area and plenty of trails to stretch your legs. Make sure to give yourself enough time to soak in natures beauty!

Trillium Lake in Oregon is an absolute gem! I recently had the pleasure of camping there, and it was a breathtaking experience. I can't recommend it enough for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. The serene lake, surrounded by towering trees and majestic mountains, creates a picturesque setting that instantly puts you at ease.
One of the highlights of my trip was the incredible star gazing opportunity. When the sky was clear, it transformed into a mesmerizing canvas of twinkling stars. The absence of light pollution allowed me to witness a celestial spectacle like never before. It was an awe-inspiring sight that left me feeling connected to the vastness of the universe.
The campground itself was well-maintained. Waking up to the tranquil sounds of nature and being able to explore the surrounding trails made me appreciate the beauty of this place even more.
Trillium Lake is a true haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you're into hiking, fishing, or simply seeking solace in nature, this place has it all. The panoramic views from the hiking trails are nothing short of breathtaking, and the peaceful ambiance makes it an ideal spot to relax and recharge.
If you're planning a visit to Oregon, Trillium Lake should be at the top of your list. Don't forget to bring your camping gear and keep your fingers crossed for clear skies. The star gazing experience alone is worth the trip. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I give Trillium Lake a well-deserved five-star rating!

Unfortunately as of 20231017 the loop has temporary construction however other then that beautiful for hiking, camping and kayaking (when in season of course). Beautiful backdrop of Mt Hood 🏔

10/10. The view is just so beautiful! The water was warm enough to swim in early July, so clean and clear too. There are not many places to camp out on the beach, we went on a Friday afternoon and got lucky with our little spot. The kayak/paddle board rentals are reasonably priced and the folks in charge of it are quite lovely. There’s a small island you can go to if you do the rentals and it’s so quiet and secluded, no view of the mountain from the island though due to the trees. I absolutely cannot get over the view we had. Definitely a must see for an out of towner (like me) or just a good place to go hangout as a local.

By far, this is one of the most beautiful lakes I have visited so far with a spectacular Mt Hood in the background. Parking can get a bit pricey, and it gets full pretty quickly so make sure to get there early and reserve a table. It’s first come first serve basis. We had a blast. Had some barbecue and had really great quality family time.

Best views of Mt Hood can be seen from Trillium lake. There is a $5 fee for day use, but if you have a National Park Pass that itself suffices. You can do boating, paddle boarding here. Nice calm nature and great spot to spend time with family on a sunny day.

Definitely here is best view point that can have very nice pictures on your back.
People fishing to have trouts and have nice walk path around lake and day use area to camping site . Fee area for day use $10.00 . Pet friendly with leash on
Very strongly recommend to be early in the morning and kayak and paddle boat
Kai Dwd — Google review
The best spot, for the best view and photographs is going all the way straight back to the dam. id skip the boat launch, especially when crowded, accept, thats the best way to access the small dock as well as the ramp of course
It was absolutely incredible. More beautiful in person than any photograph i had seen. avoid weekends during peak season. the campground was sold out and there were far too many people the last weekend in June when I was there. Sunrise and sunset is when you have the best opportunity to find the lake glass like and get one of those iconic reflection pictures, similar to mine.

Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
We just had a short stay here for our 8 year anniversary, but my husband and i had a lot of fun staying at one of the treehouses, mini-golfing, going to the aerial park, enjoying the gorgeous scenery, and eating all the good food. The room was very clean and cozy, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were all so very kind, warm, and welcoming. I'd love to come back here and try axe-throwing, zip-lining, and whatever else we may have missed. So much to do in such a beautiful place.

Very fun experience on the Zipline adventure! All participants are double clipped at all times and I never felt unsafe. The guides are friendly and extremely competent. Highly recommend!

Charming lodge on the Columbia River. Nestled in beautiful natural surroundings like valley gorges, waterfalls and man made feats like the Bridge of the Gods. Plan on spending some time in the area to explore. Well worth it.

The staff was amazing. From the front desk, the gift shop and restaurant to the amazing guides on the zip line tour. Kelly and Lori were awesome. The bed was way stiff for our liking and there was a wedding that had music shaking the building until 10. But the experience was money well spent. I recommend the river view rooms, spend the extra money!

The guides were knowledgeable and respectful in ensuring we knew what we had to know so we would have a fun time. And they both were FUNNY! I LOVED this and the guides really helped make it a super fun experience! EVERYONE was super helpful, including the gentlemen in the office!

We came to Skamania Lodge to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday and wanted to do something new and exciting. The zip lining was so perfect and took us through the beautiful surrounding forest. Our guides were awesome and we had so much fun! There were some that were a little scared and they made everyone feel comfortable and added a little extra fun for the daredevils. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time on the zip line course. We were there as part of an ACL cruise. As first time zip line participants, we were very impressed by the safety measures and care given the equipment and orientation. Most importantly our guides Lori and Kelly were simply outstanding. Careful professionals who used humor to calm nerves, they were as comfortable with newbies as with experienced folks. They made the tour!

We had a blast on the Zipline Adventure today! The guides were fun, experienced and very focused on keeping us safe while having an excellent time. I highly recommend this as a birthday gift or just a fun way to spend time together. We tried having a meal on the bar deck but were unable to get service. Surprising for such a beautiful and expensive venue. No worries...we drove to Vancouver and had a delicious meal at the Cove. Highly recommended! 😎

I'm afraid of heights but our tour guides made it easier to relax, reassured me and were very funny. They thoroughly explained things every step of the way. Made my 54 RI Arthritis Birthday very eventful and made my day! I highly recommend this facility. Safety was a priority here.

Such a fun experience! Highly recommend. Even in a drizzle, it didn’t matter! The trees keep you from being wet and uncomfortable AND the course is a great blend of quick and lengthier zips. We had a great time, good conversation and made joyful memories while visiting close to home.

Overpriced, but pretty much the norm for these kinds of experiences. The guides (Chris and Bella) were great, super friendly and helpful. They did a great job keeping both the younger kids and the adults entertained and happy (and had Venmo tipping options at the end). The ziplines were fun, nothing sketchy, and the tour length was good too. None of the lines were draw-jopping amazing or anything, but it was still really fun.

Worth every penny and then some! Good food, GORGEOUS views, friendly staff and OMG the zipline tour was the best. We were both scared as were the other team with us. Small group just us 4 girls and the 2 guides, made all of us more relaxed and by the last zipline we were all eyes open and laughing not screaming! Makes sure you sit outside for some breathtaking sunrises!

The Bonneville Dam, erected in 1937, stands at a towering height of 197 feet. This impressive structure offers a park area for pedestrians to enjoy the breathtaking view of its gushing spillway. The Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls Tour takes you on a scenic drive along the oldest highway in the country and stops at various viewpoints that showcase panoramic views, including the renowned Bonneville Dam Sturgeon viewing center.
The Oneonta Gorge is a picturesque ravine consisting of mossy basalt rock, four stunning waterfalls, and various hiking trails. Visitors can opt for easier hikes like Latourell Falls or Elowah Falls, but should be prepared to get wet on the hike into Oneonta Gorge. While the gorge trail is currently closed due to fire damage, there are open trailheads about 100ft above it that lead to Triple Falls.
8/8/22 Water hike still closed

Check out my full detailed video on YouTube @Waterfall Whispering ~ This area is a great way to burn some calories with easy access to numerous trails and several waterfalls! About a 3.5 mile RT hike to triple falls with a lot of fun elevation changes this place is challenging but rewarding! Even though the lower falls are the highlight of the area and are currently closed it’s still worth the day trip out! Watch my vid and see what’s on this trail and even have old video of the lower falls if you’re curious how it looks! 👍🤙
Waterfall Whispering — Google review
The gorge trail itself is closed due to fire damage. However their are some trailheads about 100ft up from the gorge trail that are open and take you to triple falls. Once the gorge opens back up I will be taking full advantage, but for now just go up to the road to Oneonta trailhead

Unfortunately the trail is still closed from the fire in 2017. There's a small parking lot near the gorge but the entrance and gorge itself is fenced off. Still recommend seeing it to take in the damage that was done and the time it takes for nature to recover.

Hiking through Oneonta is one of my most favorite memories ever. There's an abundance of beauty, peace, and bliss here.
Pro tip: thi hike itself is very short but the rocks are very slippery and there are fallen logs that are scary and can be dangerous. So make sure you have the right shoes and are prepped for the trail.
The water is super cold but you get used to it.
Madelene Rabi Bernard — Google review
The Oneonta Gorge is a scenic gorge located along the Columbia River. Because of the unique vegetation that grows there, this gorge has been designated as a botanical area by The U.S. Forest Service. It follows then that these plants are to be looked at but not touched, and that hikers should respect the growth and stay on the trail. Many of the varieties that grow here can grow only here in the Gorge.
There are four major waterfalls on the Oneonta Creek as it runs through the gorge.
Middle Oneonta Falls can be seen clearly from a footpath and is very often mistaken for the upper or lower falls. The drop of the Middle Falls is 24-feet and that’s the one we saw.
The Lower Gorge has been preserved as a natural habitat, so hikers don't usually go there. Thus, Lower Oneonta Falls can only be seen by walking upstream from the creek's outlet at the Historic Columbia River Highway.
If one really wants to see the entire Lower Falls, it is visible, but this can require wading through cold, chest-deep, water at certain times of the year. That's not for me.
The Upper Falls are about 1 mile upstream from the Middle Falls and require scrambling up the creek or climbing down a canyon wall to view. The Fourth Falls which is "Triple falls" can be seen from a vantage point on the upper trails in the canyon.
There is also a great old railroad tunnel that is now part of the pedestrian path.

I'll never travel to Portland without this trip planner again
This 242-ft. waterfall along the Historic Columbia River Highway can be crossed via a hiking trail.
Came two months ago at the coldest time of the month! It's one of those places that has proven that it's gorgeous no matter the season and weather. You get the beautiful view of the falls and hike upwards crossing the bridge. Worth the stop if you are around the area or driving through.

It’s beautiful. The fact that you can see the falls so closely is amazing. This falls is definitely underrated. The hike was also really short. Took us about 15 mins to get to the falls. Overall it was amazing

Natures is miraculous but human. Trail loop is well maintained and beautiful with some waterfalls along the path. It takes me about 2h to finish the trail. Just one courtesy thing to do is pack in-pack out but few people don’t. I picked some tissues and emptied bottle on my way. hope people won’t litter.

A must visit place when you are driving through US Route 30. The falls is right beside the freeway and there is a large parking lot very close to the falls. The view of the drop is magnificent and breathtaking. Ideal spot for picnic and for hiking.
bharat batasari — Google review
If you love waterfalls and love hiking this is for you. The stretch between Vista House and Multnomah Falls on the historic route 30 is full with waterfalls, creeks and so many head trails. It doesn’t matter how many times I go to the same area I find a trail I didn’t walk before. Some are easy and short, some are longer and more challenging. But at the end of it they are all worth the hike.
Talia Winner — Google review
Wahkeena Falls is a short half mile (if that) hike from the parking lot to the falls. It is a bit of a climb but worth the sight. There is a good amount of parking if you arrive early enough or on a weekday. There is no cost for parking or to view the Falls. Across the road is another parking area along with picnic tables and bathrooms.

Beautiful falls. Busy area with less parking spots but it was worth it. Multnomah falls is super crowded hence I liked this one better. Multiple steps falls. You can climb on the side and get a better click. Must visit if you are nearby.
sonakshi agarwal — Google review
Right next to the road along the Columbia River Gorge Historic Highway. Tall waterfalls just like Multnomah minus the bridge. Car parking is limited and pretty crowded since the view point is along the sidewalk. There is a trail that goes above.

Really cool viewpoint. 0.2mile quick trail to the falls. It’s so close that you can feel the mist.

I took the 5 mil route from Wahkeena Falls to Multnomah Falls and I think it was great. Difficulty level is easy to below moderate, at least for us. Am glad we did that early in the morning around 8am++ as the parking area will be filled up pretty quick.
J “汉人” ames — Google review
A decent length 5mi loop if you choose. If you just want a out and back experience you can just go to the viewpoints. Definitely bring some more textured hiking shoes. Makes things easier cause some trail areas are a little on the rough side. Especially if you choose to hike the loop.
Flono (Flono) — Google review
This is one of the breathtaking waterfalls to visit if visiting Portland. We visited this one on a tour to visit 6 waterfalls in the area using e-bikes which is the best thing ever that is fun and you wouldn't have to deal with car parking nightmares. The waterfall is so amazing and the hike to see it is short and not hard so make sure and hit that spot if visiting the area
Peter Assad — Google review
Did the full 5 or so miles loop and it was absolutely worth it. Did it mid winter so we were walking through the clouds. Maybe one of my favorite hikes within a hour of the city.
It has a parking lot with limited spots but you can also access the loop from the Multnomah Falls parking lot.
Super well maintained but there are some parts of the trail that can be iffy if you’re scared of heights. Wear shoes with good tred! Also look out for any added signage on any of the maps throughout the hike.
Marshal Turner — Google review
Did the 5 mile hike starting here that wraps around in a loop to go to Multnomah Falls and ends here again. Fantastic hike!! Some switchbacks in the beginning but then it's not as steep the rest of the hike, more spread out. Its absolutely beautiful about halfway through especially, lots of yellow trees and little fields in the forest. The trees are tall and dense and the sun peeks through at random parts. With the time of day we went, there was mist and peeking sun and yellow leaves everywhere, it looked magical. It was gorgeous! The waterfalls are amazing too. This is one of my favorite hikes! Only con is there's a very small parking lot out front, we ended up parking further down on the side of the road and walking up but there's no sidewalk along the road, so be careful.
M — Google review
Really great trail and very much worth it. Parked right by the trail head of Wahkeena and got there kind of early (8 am) and had plenty of parking spots. It does fill up quick though. The hike has a lot of scenery and you get to the falls pretty quick. There are some switchbacks to keep going that are kind of steep but not forever long. Takes you to a beautiful look out which was worth hiking up. We went a little further to fairy falls and then kept going and went all the way over to Multnomah falls and then walked back to the wahkeena parking lot.

YouTube video @WaterfallWhispering A quick stop, but this moderate hike is a must do especially when water levels are high! It’s stunning!
Waterfall Whispering — Google review
I don't think the trail has been fully restored yet after the snowstorm. Some sections are very difficult to walk.
In addition to views of Mount St. Helens, this national forest also features a popular cave trail.
Place is still pretty but it's been closed since covid but you can still go. Only problem is some kids today painted over the sign to tell you which way is harder then the other. And they tagged a lot of the walls. If you go at least have the respect for places like this and don't trash them.

Goonies adventure in a cave! This was amazing! Bring 2 flash lights, warm clothing. The lower cave is great for kids and not so adventurous adults. The upper cave is for a serious strenuous hike in the pitch black with many rock piles and obstacles cliffs to climb. Not for the faint hearted. It was a great experience!
Mat D — Google review
It was raining outside but with the cave being underground it didn’t matter what the weather was like outside. We did the lower trail with our 1 year old baby and was a nice walk. Make sure to have at last 2 lights per person we brought extras! At one point we turned off the light and it was completely pitch black, surreal. Exploring the Ape Cave was a fun adventure!
Nikki Hyodo — Google review
This place was awesome and I met the nicest lady who lent me one of her headlamps and we went through the cave together. Its a first-time experience I would like to live over again and again. DO bring a coat (its cold down there year-round) and do bring your own flashlight (even though I did not)
Bronson Allen — Google review
We went to the Ape Cave on a very rainy day and had a great time despite the weather. You need to bring flashlights for each member of your party. If you forget, you can rent them. It is pitch dark inside. It was cool walking through the lava tube all the way to the end. It felt like we were in a movie. Parts of the cave were very easy to get through and other parts were a little challenging. They have 2 routes you can take. One of them is very challenging so don't take that one if you are not physically fit.
Hilda Martinez — Google review
This was a fantastic hike in and out of the caves. There are two paths inside. One super easy and recommended for the young and elderly and the moderate side.
The moderate side can be just a little intense with climbing over boulders and rocks and climbing up walls and squeezing through very very tight spaces. I'm 5'7" at 130lbs and I even had to take my backpack off to fit through some spaces.
And when you think you've hit a dead end, look again!
The hike outside is nice and beautiful.
Definitely recommend.

Cool cave to walk through. Be sure to bring VERY bright lights, comfy walking shoes and a second layer (coat or sweater! I run warm so I took my jacket off halfway through the hike through.
Tiara Watson — Google review
Amazing cave. Did lower and upper caves in about 3 hours. Great mix of terrain in the caves. Often wet (it was raining above) but never slippery. Only bad thing was how loud people choose to be - sound can really echo. At the latter part of the upper cave we didn’t see anyone else for a long time which was great since some parts were very crowded. Beautiful up above too on the hike back.
Joel Bartlett — Google review
Very adventurous and exciting. Technical hiking through pitch black, lighting is required. Very light climbing at one or two places. Regular sneakers we're fine for me and a simple flashlight. Less is more, you probably don't need a backpack and a bottle of water, just take a flashlight and maybe a sweater. The air is cool and rich inside. There are places where the ceiling fell and so you have to scramble up and over the rocks which have since fell. They are stable though and navigating for me was quick and easy. If you are the adventurous type and are also the athletic type, then I'm sure you'll love this hike! Oh, there are two different options, one is a through hike from one cave entrance to a different exit, that one is the more adventurous, longer, and technical hike. The other one is the lower hike which is preportedly easier and shorter. I didn't see any bats or signs of life. Stopping at The Cougar Restaurant was nice afterwards.
Lucas Kerper — Google review
Did a lot of hikes around the Washington area but none was as unique as Upper Caves. APE cave has 2 trails one called upper cave and other lower. I did the upper cave which is supposed to be longer and more difficult. Truly astonishing hike and one you can't forget. It took us 1 hour 30 minutes to complete the upper cave. Add another 30 minutes to complete the trek loop to the parking spot after coming out of the cave. You should carry water with you. You will get at least 20 rock boulder kind of terrain on the upper cave. Having good hiking shoes with ankle support is highly recommended. Also carry gloves with you. One of my friends got her hand cut by a rock. Rocks can be sharp here and you should watch your head. There is no way you can do this hike without a flashlight. Flashlights are a must. Headlamps are optional but are more convenient.
Kumar Vaibhav — Google review
Wonderful Adventure. If you don’t like the cold definitely bundle up. Bring a good flashlight as it’s 100% needed. Good Shoes is another important thing to bring. Stellar times with amazing photo opportunities. The hike was great but very easy if your in basic shape. Overall it’s a great hike to get out in nature.

Amazing place,
The pay/ reserve sytem can be confusing but no worries ws unless busy you can pay $2 at upper lot per person, etc.
Be sure to get a $5 heavy duty flashlight at upper parking lot before going up to the cave.
The flashlight has a couple settings and can spread light to the side as well as the beam on the front.
The caves are much more enjoyable the more light you have to see the intricate differences of the walls and ceilings.
Note:
There is about 18 piles of rubble to climb over &/or walk thru as well as its quite chilly about 55 degrees- Do not go down without a hoodie & or beanie! Jeans are suggested though i went with shorts and only got on knees one time for 3-5 feet.
The gifts shop is really cute and has plenty of souvenirs too!

Do prepare scrambling with gloves, water, headlights, long pants, hiking boots! Enjoy and be careful. Take care, Nick!
La Coqueta Jewelry — Google review
Impressive! We could have done the upper cave but we needed better shoes for climbing rocks and more time. The lower cave is kid friendly, despite having a dead end. For both, you can use a cellphone flashlight but it's more comfortable to use a head lamp for the upper cave. In this picture what you see is not worms over a rock but empty bubbles from volcanic gases. This rock is 1/3 inside the upper cave.
Emilia Fichter — Google review
The cave temperature is very cool (42°F) but I felt fine in a breathable t-shirt and shorts, however I would still recommend packing some sort of long sleeve shirt or jacket.
Regular tennis shoes are fine, but make sure they have traction as the ground is very uneven and there are a lot of sections involving clambering over boulders, some of which are wet from the condensation dripping from the ceiling.
If you plan on exploring any of the few "offshoots" or short tunnels that deviate from the main path, BRING KNEEPADS AND GLOVES. The ground is VERY rough and will destroy your knees.
While the hike is short in distance, it is very technical and feels much longer. You don't need any equipment, but there is one section (the lava falls) that is difficult to climb if you aren't able to easily lift your own body weight. I had to help a group up that likely would've had to turn back without some assistance.
Lastly, make sure you buy your recreation pass ($5) and your reservation ($2) online and PRINT THEM BOTH before you go. There is no internet here and you will have to turn around to get internet and buy your pass if you don't beforehand.
Vista House is an octagonal rest stop and observation point that was constructed during the early 1900s. Situated at Crown Point, it offers breathtaking views of the Columbia River and mountains spanning up to 30 miles in both directions. While other highlights along the highway remain closed, Multnomah Falls Lodge has thankfully been saved from a fire and can be accessed via the Interstate 84 parking lot. Visitors can drive up to Vista House which offers some spectacular scenic routes.
Beautiful spot to view some amazing views ! Car accessible. Went with kids and it was fun. However reached after 5, hence couldn’t tour inside. Good view of river Columbia gorge. Even the drive up was scenic.

Worth visiting even if the house itself is closed! Recommend going an hour/hour and a half before sunset, too, the colors are beautiful and crowds are limited. If visiting during hours, a great 360 view, and very plentiful gift shop! Love this outlook. Fret not if it seems cloudy or views obstructed, those will usually clear out within 10 minutes
Adna Mujovi? — Google review
One of the best viewpoints. It's definitely windy and cold so dress for the occasion but you won't get a view quite like this anywhere else. It's best to go early in the morning, and when it's not so cloudy. But when the fog comes in you'll feel like you're in twilight.
One of my favorite places to go!

It is a nice place to visit if you want a panoramic view of Columbia River Gorge. The wind is strong, and they describe it as the famous gorge wind. Indeed, you will not forget that force. We were not able to enter the house since it only ipen on Fridays and through the weekend. Worth a visit.

It's an amazing view of the Columbia River Gorge on the Oregon side viewing the Washington state side running East and West. If you get a chance it's an absolute incredible view. A very real natural view. I absolutely recommend.

Can’t believe we have visited multiple places alongside Columbia River but never check this place out. It is the best place for a Columbia river overlook. Highly recommend if you are looking for some view points close to the city!

The crowds mid day on a weekend made it difficult to park, if you can come on weekday or early morning it might be more enjoyable. Absolutely spectacular. The views from this location are amazing, one of the best in Portland. Mountains, water scenic highway all in one location. The Vista building itself is a timeless treasure. When you go downstairs it shows the history of the area along with a gift shop. You have the option to walk upstairs or if you a disability security will let you ride the elevator. From the balcony you get to lookout over the area. On the backside of the building are stairs that allow you to sit and view as well.

It is a very beautiful, gorgeous vista house overlooking outstanding views like the Columbia River Gorge. I went on an extremely windy day so the building was closed. Other than that, everything was amazing

This has been on my list of places to see for a few years. I finally got around to it yesterday. There are plenty of distant views. There is a gift shop, as well as displays of clothing typical of the early 1900's...when it was built, stones and rocks found regionally, and photographic comparisons of 1917 to 1997. It's interesting to see what buildings existed when. Many local buildings burnt down and had to be rebuilt. All of this is touched on, along with photographs. There is also some history on the building, purpose and related controversy of the Vista House.
I snagged some carved, metal, feather magnets, outlining a flying bird. They are being used as holdbacks for my kitchen window curtains. They work beautifully. I also purchased a pendant with a raven and the three moon phases from the half off box. Unfortunately, the chain busted when I removed the price tag (sticky wrapped on chain). I will need to replace the chain because of that. I wish they used a different method to tag the necklaces.
Parking is a pain as there is not near enough. Tour vans were also bringing people to the site, so it was very crowded. It's worth the visit, but be prepared for unaware people blocking walk paths and sometimes being rude about blocking areas.
There is a coffee shop and fully plumbed washrooms.
They are only open Friday through Monday to tour inside and get to the top level. There is no fee as of the time of my visit.

The Visitor Center was closed (they’re open Fri-Mon), but the view of the Columbia River Gorge is breathtaking and definitely worth the trip up! Peaceful, beautiful, and puts the size of the Columbia River into perspective.

One of the best views of the Columbia River Gorge without hiking. A must see for anyone in the area. While you’re at it, go for a nice drive along the historic Columbia River highway and enjoy all the waterfalls and lush woodland terrain. The vista house itself is nothing spectacular (in my opinion), but the view is what you come for.

Amazing view for an international person to see! Highly recommend checking this out at least once. As it is spring, the moss has really peaked and shown itself to be quite a beautiful sight.

This was incredible to see. The views are just spectacular, and I was absolutely in awe standing here taking everything in. I recommend going up top and checking everything out as well as going downstairs and seeing the historic info. The gift shop has some amazing finds in it, and I found some great gifts for my family to bring back East with me.

Such a cool place to go. The view is absolutely incredible. It's also cool learning about all the history that happened. Must see place if you happen to be in the area

Nice view point of the river and the mountains too… if you go below this point through the same road there’s a beautiful waterfall too…

I love stopping here on travels up the gorge. This building is so impressive, with amazing history and design. Wonderful views! There is a gift shop and coffee shop in the basement, as well as restrooms. They even have a penny swisher machine, my favorite souvenirs!
Being a historic building, there are stairs to access, I believe, every aspect of the building. They are not difficult, but a little narrow. Even if you are unable to utilize the stairs, there are still wonderful views to be seen of the building exterior and of the gorge itself from vantage points around the building.

Beautiful lookout place, you can see both Oregon and Washington, the views are amazing. We went inside the house to see more history, it was fun and well presented.

Yesterday, we did a private hike with guide Eileen Kiely up to the Crater Glacier Overlook. What an awesome day we had! Not only were we fortunate enough to have the perfect weather, but the wildflowers were in full bloom; the views of Mount St. Helens National Monument (including the crater, Spirit Lake and the expansive pumice plain), Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams were absolutely stellar; and the overall experience to be in the crater itself was one I will never forget. I highly recommend this hike!

Recently participated in a hike into the crater with MSHI, and the entire experience was fantastic. The guide staff was very passionate, knowledgeable, and attendant to our safety while climbing. Outside of actually climbing into the crater, the staff provided a very comfortable camping experience, with just the right mix of 'roughing it' and creature comforts. I felt the whole experience was a great value especially given the campfire songs led by guided, Sarah and Sierra! Thanks, HSMI. Oh yeah, they fed us REALLY well, too.

Setting aside land for a National Monument is a big deal. It means that future generations can see the setting in a mostly untouched state of being. There's much to see and experience in this area where mountain meets mankind.

Staff were awesome. Sometimes the folks working the counter aren’t familiar with the locations but the young lady helping me was able to pick out the best places to view the mountain.
If you need directions, this is the place to stop.

A Washington Icon! Everyone knows the story, but to really understand the damage, even 40 years later, you have to visit for yourself. I highly recommend the Ape Canyon Trail, it snakes along the mudflow from the eruption along the SE side of the mountain.

Extremely disappointing and unorganized. They make people wait for 1 day at 9 AM to buy permits to climb the mountain. There site sucks big time. It wouldn't work. I've been trying since 9 am to buy 2 permits and had one issue after another issue. I tried to call, but they don't answer. There email was broken too! What a disaster and totally not acceptable. The federal government needs to take this back and run it with people who can actually manage it correctly!!!!! I'm so mad and upset! I've waited so patiently for this day to come only to be so disappointed. At 9 AM the site wouldn't even load correctly. Then by 9:30 it was partially loading. Finally around 10 AM it loaded and there was still 90 permits available for my date!!! Yeah.... so I thought. Selected my 2 permits only for the purchase button not too show up at all. I kept calling and calling... but no answer. Then at 10:40 AM the site actually let me select to purchase and enter my credit card. One would think this was a success, but not. There bloomin "submit order" button was broken. 8 tried various browsers on the computer and my cell phone. All with no success! 😢 Why is this even allowed? I did everything right and I got nothing except disappointment. They all need to be fired. Each year they get worse and worse. Thought it was suppose to improve!!
