Evans Plunge Mineral Springs
Water park
Fun & Games
Indoor pool featuring naturally warm mineral water from a thermal spring & water slides.
Evans Plunge was so much fun! The kids had a blast. Crystal clear water and slides were awesome. Great staff! This little food truck was across the street with amazing curry food! For 5 adults and 3 children it was $104.00 for swimming. Great family time!!

This place we was great! A must go for anyone. The water is so clean and fresh. Indoor pool, no chlorine, warm all year. Win, win win!
My favorite parts:
*Separated Kids areas, real shallow and mid shallow.
*water slides with pads. Big enough to be fun. The speed slide was great to see how far you could skip across the surface, my best about 30ft.
*the loose gravel pool bottom. Stones from 1/2" to 2" lining parts of the pool floor was quite therapeutic to walk on especially after all the traveling.
*hot tubs and saunas in case the 87° spring water wasn't warm enough. The hot tubs of course have some chlorine since it has to be heated, but still nice.
The rings were fun as well. Sufficiently difficult to feel accomplished when I made it across third try.
*not busy at all. Early April almost nobody there, we lapped the slides and never had to wait once.
Obviously this isn't the biggest water park in the world, but so so worth going. If I'm ever within 200 miles from here again, I'll be stopping in for another swim. The town is pretty cool also, under a disruptive road construction at the moment. But should be done soon.
Lance Farnsworth — Google review
So awesome! Fun place to take the family the water felt amazing. There is so much to do, water slides, basketball, volleyball, rings to hang from, hottub, and sauna. The rock bottom of the pool was very neat. Bonus was the history of the place.
Anthony Hug — Google review
This was such a fun experience for my two friends and I! We also felt the cost of 14 dollars for a full day pass was very reasonably priced! The water and facilities were SO clean. The only thing we noticed, as three currently certified lifeguards, is that the two guards stood talking with each other a majority of the time instead of activity scanning the pool…so as parents make sure to actively watch your kids and those around you.
Hanna O'Toole — Google review
My family goes camping in the Hot Springs area every year. We always make sure to stop in at Evans Plunge because it's so much fun! The water is amazing, my kids enjoy the slides (both indoor and outdoor). My husband and I enjoy the steam room and sauna. Very well priced and overall a great stop for fun!
samantha plank — Google review
Great indoor pool to visit for kids and adults! Water slides, rings, basketball and plain ole swimming in naturally warm mineral springs. Also have hot tub and sauna we enjoyed. Good food for lunch or a snack... Very well priced too! There are other offerings that we didn't partake in. Friendly and welcoming staff! Admission price reasonable as well.
Tiffany A — Google review
It's cool and affordable. If I lived here I would have a season pass. They have an enormous indoor pool fed by a hot spring. Two hot tubs, steam sauna dry heat sauna and a weight room. It's worth the stop.
Chad Clark — Google review
Great place for the kids. They offer life jackets, pool noodles, balls, and mats. There is a kiddie pool in one part indoors, two indoor slides, swing rings and a lap pool. Not only this but a steam room, hot tub and sauna. When we went to outdoors pool area was closed.
Brittany Dukes — Google review
We hadn't been here in 4 years and so glad we made the stop! Refreshing, rejuvenating and the water was warm. It was the perfect relaxing and fun afternoon and I highly recommend it! Staff was nice and helpful...even recommended a cool place for lunch that was delicious (the bowling alley...I know, crazy. Lol).
Sheila Schuldt — Google review
Lots of fun swimming in the spring. The lack of chlorine was wonderful. Changing locker rooms were fine, provided what you needed and the lockers are cheap, 50 cents for a small or 75 cents for a large. Know that they don't have an ATM onsite so you'll need to have cash before you show or quarters if you wish to use one of the coin-operated lockers.
The pool was nice, it wasn't "warm" by any means, but it was great to swim in. It was a bit jarring the first time getting in where the base of the pool is all stones but it worked. Slides were fun and the outdoor pool was also nice.

I have not spent any time here at Evans Plunge yet but I stopped by 6 days ago to check it out and get a tour because I'd never even been to the center for any fun yet and I'm seriously looking forward to going back and both enjoying myself at the facility playing in the water and just casually lounging in the Natural Healing Waters.
I'm from Minnesota and I've been in the process of moving to the Hot Springs area for a while now but so many other things have kept me traveling the country for my sales job and business so I haven't been able to slow down enough to enjoy the ranch land to its fullest or make it to Evans Plunge which is sad because I've been by the place 100+ times in almost 9 years now as I've spent lots of time in Hot Springs.
Evans Plunge looks totally awesome, and it has its weight room for training, hot tub, sauna, steam room and other fun stuff to.
Scott Hilgert — Google review
This place was not what I expected. The waters were a bit colder than I thought. The pictures Don't do justice of how bad this place was. People were nice, it's the way it looks. The outside looked dirty and felt dirty.
R F — Google review
Ok, my wife found this place and wanted to come here not me. She somehow had the idea in her head that it was a natural “hot” spring even though the website just says Natural Spring-Fed with a 87 degree water temperature.
Those who are thinking the water is hot, it is not, it’s somewhat warm-ish. Bring water shoes as the bottom of the pool is rocks
The facility is very dated but serves its purpose. Has a decent size room in the bathroom for changing with showers. Different size lockers which takes quarters for your personal belongings.
The pool was a decent size but at the time we went it was a lot of people so it was a little crowded. They have 2 hot tubs which was crowded, one sauna which was also crowded and one steam room which was crowded again. We came back off and on the see if sauna or steam room was empty enough to get it. We did not go upstairs or buy food so can’t comment on that.
The price for 6 of us to swim the few hours we were their was almost $100
Lynel Seawood — Google review
We were there less time than it took to change into swimsuits. We overestimated the meaning of "warm springs". The water felt cool. We all had goosebumps and were incredibly uncomfortable. Needless to say, we spent $50 for about 10 minutes of pool time. Not only that, it was very crowded.
I think there is a sauna and hot tub(s)? But I didn't see any signs indicating where they were, so I'm not positive on that. I can't say any of us would recommend it.
Jess B — Google review
One of the perks of homeschooling our five children is being able to travel to normally busy destinations during the offseason, which is what we did for our 2021 South Dakota trip. As such, we only had to share the entire facility with maybe ten or twelve other people.
Hot spring is maybe a little generous; the water is not hot but is pleasantly warm. It's refreshing and great fun to visit.
The bottom of the pool is river rock because the facility is built directly over the spring so the water flows up through the rocks, over to the far end and out a drain into a local river. This means no nasty chlorine, no irritated eyes and none of that awful dry skin and hair. We were told the water completely cycles about every ninety minutes; if you just float in the water you'll slowly be carried toward where it drains out. Don't worry, there isn't a noticeable current.
The facility is nice and clean and appears well-maintained and there was ample space in the locker room to change with lockers to store your street clothes.
Keith Hepworth — Google review
Love the year round 87 degree water temp. The facilities include a gym, hot springs pool (still only 87 degrees)with 2 slides, jacuzzi & sauna.
Virginia Kinchela — Google review
What a splash!! Made a special stop just come to Evans Plunge and it it totally worth it. People and kids of all ages can enjoy and have a blast. Also, they have been open for over a 100 years so you know it's fun.
Lindsays A Happy Camper — Google review
We went at 6pm for half the price and were there until it closed at 8pm. It was a perfect amount of time and there were only about 20 people there. During the summer they can get to about 300! It was very relaxing and there were great areas for little kids and big kids. My daughters enjoyed going down the slides and they had a blast! The staff was friendly and great and my skin felt nice and soft afterwards. My daughters can't wait to go back!
The Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, South Dakota showcases a large collection of mammoth remains that were preserved in a sinkhole. It is an active paleontological dig site, boasting the world's largest concentration of actual mammoth bones. Visitors can easily access the museum, and there is ample parking available. The main exhibit provides detailed explanations of the dig site and its fascinating history.
Pretty cool history here. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. We spent quite a while look around the main exhibit. You are able to get up close to a lot of the dig and there's good explanations of what you're looking at while walking. Plan on about 90 minutes to walk through at a causal pace.
Andy Galles — Google review
This was awesome. A live dig site, indoors, with AC. The staff were actually working on the fossils while we were there. Scraping with a dental pick. You can watch them work, talk to them, learn about their job and the site. There is a self-guided tour with QR codes you scan at each stop. The tour guides you through the site explaining the numbers, the fossils, the history…amazing. Plus, it is affordable. Pretty neat time, glad we made the drive here!
Jonathan McIntosh — Google review
Very interesting and educational. Not an exciting experience for the younger child but appreciated by the older child. Lots of very cool fossils in an active site and cool history of the location. About 1.5 hrs spent but we visited off season and at the end of the day (3:30) so only 2 other families were there. Very interesting stop
Elizabeth Caso — Google review
Worth a stop if you get to Hot Springs, SD! I didn't know this place was here until we were looking for our hotel and it popped up on Google maps. I'm glad we walked through it. Great displays & information!
Laura Sheets — Google review
I'm so glad we stopped here! This was such an interesting place. There's so much information packed in about the fossils and the history of the site. The volunteers and workers are very friendly and informative. We had conversations with several about the fossil they were working on, what finds they had discovered that day, or how they worked with the various tools. Definitely scan the QR codes located on the walkway railing around the site. They explain the different areas you can see from each stop. I put it on speaker so the kids could listen with me. There's 4-5 codes to scan, so make sure you get them all. We spent a good hour and a half here. There's another portion in the museum at the back of the gift shop that we almost missed. The gift shop has a nice selection. You can also buy a bag of soil to sift using the sluice out front to discover stones and fossils. We did a medium sized fossil find and it had quite a bit of stones and shark teeth in it. The kids loved it. There's also a small snack shack out front with pizza, hotdogs, chips and drinks.
Melissa Green — Google review
A great experience set within an active dig site. Activities for kids, clean bathrooms with water fountain, and a nice introduction video on a loop. Highly recommended and informative!
Ryan Smith — Google review
When someone suggested this place it sounded like a tourist trap waiting to sick dollars from our wallets. Instead, we found a very interesting and engaging site with stories and artifacts that piqued our curiosity. What animals lived in North America before humans? … before Europeans arrived? How did they disappear? How do present-day scientists and researchers gather evidence? The Mammoth Site gives ideas on how to answer those questions and more.
This site should be interesting for people of all ages. The displays are large and medium-sized. The displays show actual work (present time) and past discoveries.
Plan to spend about 90 minutes inside. There are places outdoors to spend time afterwards.
Joe McCright — Google review
Was in the Black Hills for a couple days and I finally got to go to the Mammoth site. This is definitely worth the price of admission. If you are a student of paleontology or geology you'll be glad you came for a visit. The bones are incredible and watching people actively digging and cleaning the bones was definitely a plus. Highly recommend coming to this museum any chance you get.
They have seniors and military discounts as well.
Bear Pollard — Google review
Very organized way to present the site. We started out with a short video on why the site happened the way it did, so that background helped as we explored the site. It wrapped up with a displayed exhibit and fun activities for kids. Friendly staff in the gift shop. Overall, we enjoyed our visit.
Crystal Y — Google review
Very informative and well done preservation area. Features remains of variety of animals from per-historic era most notably mammoths. It is an active dig site so there are tools and scientists on site doing research. There is a very informative video explaining how the site came to be (from a sink hole that animals got stuck in) and how it was found in the 1970s. The tour is self-guided with information on plaques and through an audio guide (obtained via a smart phone app). Overall very good experience and would recommend to anyone visiting the black hills area.
Just an FYI, it is approximately 15 mins from the Wind Cave National Park visitors center (where you begin your cave tours). If you are buying tickets and have a long wait you can buy them further out and plan on visiting this area in the meantime. We purchased our cave tour tickets around 10am and had a tour time of 1:30. We were able to visit the Mammoth site in between and arrived back with plenty of time before our cave tour.
Tristan Rodeback — Google review
Easy to get to and with lots of parking. No RV specific parking. The primary tour is self directed. This is an active dig site. Please note that the web page has audio files that you can play while you look. Please note that you can stop the staff working on the floor and ask questions. They will answer you and go back to working. Be sure to go into the second section. It has more artifacts about the region rather than just the dig site. There is also a fun room for the kids with a couple cool activities.
Danny Beard — Google review
We enjoyed our visit. Didn’t take long to explore the museum and dig site although you could spend as much time as you like. Not overly crowded. Not much activity in the pit but from what I read it sounds like the bones almost need to stay in place because they are fragile. Not true fossils. Also if they were digging and pulling bones out daily this wouldn’t be much of an attraction once it was all cleared out and just an open dirt pit. Actually very well done the way you can see the bones in different stages of cleaning and the positions they settled in. My kids enjoyed their visit but felt it was a little sad that so many animals got stuck in the water and died. Similar to La Brea tar pit in that regard.
chris ellison — Google review
Very interesting! Educational. Love the self guided tour with my phone and the QR codes at each station. This allowed plenty of time for pictures and the ability to repeat the presentation when I wanted to hear something again or read it again. The accompanying pictures in the presentation were helpful in finding and identifying what I was looking at.
The staff were knowledgeable and answered all my questions that were not answered on the self guided tour.
The entry price is quite reasonable.
The gift shop was, for the most part, reasonably priced.
I will return in the future to see the progress; as this is an active archeological site, and what you see changes year to year.
There are also some interactive exhibits suitable for children.
Ronald H — Google review
We visited the museum and exhibition site on a snowy morning. This museum is built around the excavation sote. We started with a video telling the story behind this find and we were mesmerized to see the exhibits. I would definitely recommend visiting this place if you are visiting rapid city
Biswanath Das — Google review
Like everyone who grew up with Jurassic Park, I have always wanted to visit an actual archeological dig, and now I have! This site has been active since the 1970s, and they built a gorgeous museum around it. Great information on my self-guided tour to help understand what I was looking at. You can head downstairs to see the lab where they work, visit the museum area with more photos and historical context, and hit the gift shop on your way out. Great way to spend a couple of hours in Hot Springs, SD!! Bring the kids, if you can :)
Julie Teran — Google review
I went in early January and was the only person there so I can't say how it would be if it was crowded.
I would plan to spend a little over an hour to see everything in winter and plan on adding another 30-40 minutes for summer as the outside grounds are spacious and offer a decent view.
The staff was extremely informative and friendly, more than happy to answer questions.
The facility was well kept and organized. I had good internet service there and the self guided tour worked well.
The cost was only $11 (military discount) but I felt it was worth it for what there was.
The entrance is a longer than average walk from the parking lot with an explanation of the geology of the area as you go. I saw that they do offer a golf cart ride if you need one and can call the number posted on that sign.
Justin Kepley — Google review
Glad we stopped in. Very cool to see all those bones as they found them. Quick and easy, but very cool.
Robert Quinn — Google review
Had a great visit. It was nearly 100 degrees so we were looking for something we could do inside. Amazing display and the q-codes at the different spots along the wall were very interesting. Staff was friendly and suggested we go the the worlds best swimming hole and Cascade falls which was amazing.
Guy Huffman — Google review
Well, this isn’t a large place, and upon first pulling in and parking, it might seem that you shouldn’t have bothered. However, once inside, though, not large, it is very impressive.! we are happy we went and we’re amazed at the things we saw. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
I don’t know that I would drive too far out of my way, but if you’re in the area or close by, it is certainly worth stopping in. It truly is pretty amazing for adults and children.

The Wild Horse Sanctuary is so amazingly neat amd always so cool to take a drive down the driveway to the gift shop, get pictures of the horses and beautiful scenery from all the various landscapes and topographic that encompass the area.
I'm from Minnesota and I'm moving to some ranchalnd less than 5 miles from here so plan on spending more time visiting here as I absolutely love the country and horses!
Scott Hilgert — Google review
See rescued wild Mustangs and learn about there fight for survival. This facility provides a long-term home four wild horses. The tour was very nice, but a little pricey, at least it goes to a good cause. The wild turkeys were fun to see. And we got to admire an amazing Petroglyph panel and old school house (would have been nice to have gone in). We also got to see one of the locations for the filming of Hildago.
Cindy Woodhead — Google review
Great place. Just sorry 😞 we can't go there to do our jeep tour.
Thomas Walters — Google review
Amazing place! I’d recommend doing a private tour. Our guide was excellent and his wealth of knowledge about the horses and the history made it well worth it.
Cory Kennedy — Google review
Such a beautiful sanctuary with stunning horses. Drove through on one of my epic road trips with the dogettes and, even though they were closed, the horses came right up to the fence (very curious about the barking fur kids haha). They were absolutely gorgeous and, even though I couldn't get the full sanctuary experience, I have no regrets about driving by!

Amazing place with an amazing story. If you're in the Black Hills make a tour here a priority. This is one you'll never forget.

Took the 2-hr tour, amazing experience. We even got out of the bus and walked right up to some of the horses.

Great tour, great staff, everyone had a great time. A great experience and a beautiful sanctuary.
Great place... Cool roadside attraction filled with history

It is a must see for how far this country has come and how some things don't change!
Cheryl Rupe — Google review
This could be such a cool place! It needs some TLC. I understand the buildings are old. That is the one thing that is so neat about it, but the buildings are really dirty and cluttered. A little cleaning up and organizing would make it wonderful. The people there are very nice and give you a nice history. It was very interesting but we were a little disappointed.
Staphie Turner — Google review
Pleasant surprise! Very authentic and interesting. So many buildings and cool things in each. In the store up front huge books of historical information was across the back.. The owner was so sweet and friendly, telling us the story of the place. Highly recommend it, totally worth the $6 entry fee.
Julie Phillips — Google review
This was one of my friends and I’s favorite places to visit! We had a blast hearing about the history and getting to roam the 1800s town. The ladies working were the sweetest and the history is to die for. 10/10 would recommend for anyone and everyone!
Kenny — Google review
Lots of interesting stuff here. Close stopover near jewel cave
Michelle Chee — Google review
Very creepy cuz when we first got out of the car we passed a rain barrel and looked in and there were 2 dead kittens in it..horrible..we told the owner and she didn't seem like it was a big deal..so she preceeded yo tell us the history..lots of old artifacts but buildings alittle scary.
Tracey Holton — Google review
We had so much fun wandering this "town"! The proprietors are insanely nice and we would recommend going!!! Some of our favorite buildings were the butcher shop and the sweet shop that showed so many old items. The church was amazing as well! If you love old furniture and history, then this place is for you!! They have about 80 buildings and we spent at least an hour and a half looking and reading the informational signs!
Elizabeth Quinn — Google review
I've seen open air village museums before. Usually they are in really "good" condition: Even thought the items are old, they look like they are in good shape and the buildings are well maintained. This place is going for more of a ghost town appearance. The town is more abandoned and not cared for. The floorboards are coming loose, the paint is fading, weeds are popping through, etc. Some may not like that kind of vibe, but I think it's pretty cool. For me, this was worth a visit.
Michael Miller — Google review
Such an amazing place to visit! the lady was so sweet at the entrance! She told us the whole story of 4 mile old west town when we first got there! My grandma and I enjoyed visiting all the buildings and reading all the historical facts. So many little details she thought of!
Megan Ault — Google review
It was a really cool Old Town. A lot of history some of the buildings had to have repairs done to them. And you have to be careful walking on the boards but overall it's a pretty cool place to visit.

My family really enjoyed going here, lots of things to see and learn about. It was pretty cool to see the jail in it's original form from so many years ago. The staff were great and very informative.
Jewel Cave National Monument is a historic site that features over 170 miles of trails, lantern tours, and opportunities to view wildlife. Visitors can explore the fascinating cave system with its colorful walls and unique formations. However, due to the ongoing elevator renovation, only two tours are currently available: Discovery tour and Lantern tour. Despite this limitation, visitors have praised the ranger guide for their extensive knowledge about the cave during these tours.
Incredible tour of gorgeous caves. This is the 4th cave we have visited and it is unique and beautiful. It is easy to see how it got it's name. We did the scenic tour which was a little pricy for a National Monument ($16 ea) but worth it. We were able to purchase our tickets online but there was no discount for holders of the senior lifetime pass but it is easy to see the investments they have made to this site. New elevators and metal walkways/steps are a big upgrade from other caves we have visited. I highly recommend seeing this cave if you have a chance.
K G — Google review
My husband and I went on a tour today it was over an hour long and amazing! The tour guide had so much knowledge and really took his time to explain everything!!! It was also a great workout 🏋️♀️ 🤣 lots of stairs. This was our top favorite experience. Highly recommend! It’s a must see! We will be bringing our kids next time 🥰.
No masks required. A few people wore 😷 masks. Would recommend good walking shoes and a sweatshirt or jacket. Nothing is allowed into the cave ( no maps / info sheets / water ) they have bathrooms before you enter. They are trying to protect the caves natural habitat so some rules apply. Light trails around the area checks these out very pretty 🤩
Brittany Heglin — Google review
Beautiful cave and nice tour. Wish the discovery tour was longer but for the price I cannot complain! Our tour guide Connie was super nice and had answers to all of our questions! The small trails nearby were also well maintained and provided history and great views
Nico Amundson — Google review
I did the Garden of Eden tour and wish I had time for more! It is a very easy walk with only a few sections that have stairs / are not flat. There is so much history here, and I appreciated that during the tour, Lakota history was included as it is a sacred place for many. The short loop above the caves was so beautiful and worth the walk even in the winter.
Zarya Dahl — Google review
Gotta go see it. How can you skip on the 3rd longest tunnel system in the world? Let your kids get their junior ranger badges. Scenic tour is great, but don't expect to be able to stop and take a lot of photos as there are a lot of stairs. Enjoy the moment as you are in it with your friends and family.
Carl Gibson — Google review
Note: Be sure to visit the historical site to see the original cave opening. It's just down the hill and is free. Be certain that you get there early or make reservations during peak season because tours fill up quick. We arrived at 1pm and tours were sold out for the day which is 5:30pm and that includes the 20 min mini tours. Note, no cellular service here. Has a nice video about the creation and exploration of the cave system. Has a cave science museum section of the information office.
Danny Beard — Google review
Loved the cave! Such a cool experience...both literally and figuratively. Cave is a constant 49 degrees. Plan to wear a hoodie or jacket. Anything you bring in must fit in your pockets. Our tour guide for the 8:20 tour on 6/7/23 was knowledgeable about the cave. However, he would greatly benefit from some staff development in public speaking. I don't mean to sound unkind. He, like many people, don't speak loudly, clearly, or concisely enough when speaking to groups. "Um" should be eliminated from your vocabulary when in these situations. Aside from that, I do highly recommend visiting Jewel Cave! It's fascinating!

A beautiful stop for our family. Our guide Ranger Megan was excellent and we learned so much but we were not overwhelmed by the information, it was delivered at the right level and te right tone. Our tour lasted for an hour and a half, so just perfect to keep the kids attention.
I was worried about the 734 stairs up and down but it went really well. We are an active family and we found that the pace relax, there were many stops to learn about different rooms and you get plenty of time to “recover” to climb the next flight of stairs. At the lowest point, we were at 380 feet below the surface, really cool! The highlight was when Ranger Megan close the “lights” for a few minutes for the group to feel what is like in the dark…it was pitch black and we kept silence for a minute to listen to the water dropping and it was a neat experience. For 48$ for the family, an amazing deal!

Limited tours are available daily. Took a weekday Scenic Tour, which is guided and lasted 1 and a half hours. Adult tickets are $16, youth $8, and under 5 free. This is a tour that requires climbing and descending several flights of stairs, low ceilings and navigating narrow winding passages. Now, all this may make you ask why Jewel Cave? This was the most interesting cave tour I have ever taken. Brad was not only interesting, he was knowledgeable and pointed out the highlights and history of the cave. There are large open rooms that facilitated the exchange of information and allowed photo opportunities. An elevator will take you 240' down to the cave floor and return you 260' at the end to the visitor center. Well worth the time and money!
Kevin Tracy — Google review
Bob was an excellent guide on our discovery tour. Very friendly and funny as well. I enjoyed the visitor center. The cave decor is wonderful and I loved learning about the bats on the interactive screens. I got a passport stamp as well! I even got to see a couple big horn sheep near the parking lot. The bathroom was clean and I loved the smell of the hand soap!!
Kae Salyers — Google review
During our visit we took the Discovery tour, this and the Lantern tour are the only two tours available because the park is renovating the elevator. (August 2021) Although the tour was short, it gave us a glimpse of the world below. The cave is fascinating with many colors and formations decorating the walls of the cave. Our ranger guide was excellent, enjoyed her knowledge of the cave during the whole tour. Giving this 4 stars only because of the elevator renovation, it is definitely a 5star location, just giving myself something to look forward to in the future.
Brad Hardy — Google review
By far, the scenic tour at Jewel Cave was WAY better than Wind Cave. The pace was good, the formations - AMAZING. And the size of the cavernous rooms - stunning. If you only have time to do one of the caves in the Black Hills, make it this one. But make reservations ahead of time! We didn't, so we actually made two trips to the park, making it on the second tour of the day. Your reservations must be made 48+ hours in advance.

We did the Historical Lantern Tour. The hike was challenging, but able to be done by most people in relatively decent shape. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. It was an experience that everyone visiting the Black Hills should do.

Did not take a tour of the caves; extra cost and a wait time. The exhibit in the welcome center was informative. The bathroom house was clean. I only stopped here to get a National park passport stamp (I'm cheap)

We visited November 9th. There must have been 4 cars in the lot when we arrived. Off-season is the way to go, if the weather cooperates 😉
The visitor center is informative and well set out. We had reservations thru the recreation.cov site. We did both the tours, the Discovery and Scenic tour. First covers more history and second a walk thru the caves. If you have been to Carlsbad or Mammoth caves you may be underwhelmed. But, this is an entirely different geological setting. These caves, though formed by dissolving the local limestone were re-coated with calcite crystals, everywhere!
Lots of stairs and viewing platforms on the longer tour. But the pace is easy and the tour guides are informative. Narrow passages and hudge cathedral rooms to encounter.
We also explored the Canyon Trail. Visited the original entrance and CCC cabin. If you can arrive early do the trail, 3+ miles. Amazing canyon and you may see some wildlife.

we really enjoyed jewel cave, especially since our tour of wind cave was cancelled due to elevator issues. our ranger led scenic tour was very informative and fun! there are a lot of steps, though mostly going down and plenty of stopping to rest and take photos. jewel cave truly is a jewel of a place! interesting history and geology!! i highly recommend getting your tickets for the tours ahead of time online rather than showing up day of. when we went to check in to our tour, it was the first one offered so we got there right when they opened and there was a massive line to buy tickets day of and we heard they then sold out! i am not surprised as the tours are excellent and small groups as to minimize disruption.

Intresting National Monument worth visiting. We took a short tour, " Discovery Tour." Bought some souveniers in the gift shop.

Jewel Cave was a really great stop for my family. There were five of us, two adults and three kids (14, 11, 9)- we had no issues with the quantity of steps and stairs, which are about 700, however are 60% down and 40% going up and not all at once but in manageable chunks (according to our ranger). The Scenic Tour lasts for 1.5 hours and was enchanting. All the different cave formations and passages were really amazing to see. If you are able, then I would definitely choose the Scenic Tour over the Discovery Tour as the DT only goes to the first large room in the cave while the ST goes throughout different areas. I would love to do the lantern Historic Tour if we ever return but that is only offered in the summer so wasn't an option for us.
Book your tour online ahead or you will be waiting in a very long line to get tickets, if you can get them at all.
Michael York — Google review
The cave itself was great, although it's not exactly the gorgeous stuff you see in the videos.
Points:
1. Our ranger (Jeffrey?) didn't seem like he wanted to be there that day. If you can't answer questions (O2 content 400' below surface? Seismic recordings?) at least follow up on the surface with a geologist.
2. Tour rangers should not only be able to answer questions about THIS cave, but show interest in cave geology in general. Our guide said it wasn't his job to know anything about other caves.
3. Too many people per tour. The folks at the end couldn't hear our ranger at all.
4. There were folks on our tour who were in poor physical condition and struggled with the gazillion steps.
5. If you're in good shape you will actually enjoy and appreciate the steps.
The tour was priced fairly.
IMPORTANT: Get there early enough to watch the video BEFORE you take the tour. No reservations required for the 22 minute video, which was very informative

One of my favorite national monuments. The tour was spectacular. After visiting wind cave, we thought we’d be disappointed with Jewel, but it way WAY better. Go on the tour, you won’t be disappointed!

Ranger Don was an awesome, fun guide through this beautiful cave system. The cave is such a majestic natural wonder! The walkways, stairs and platforms are professionally installed and very easy to navigate. Awesome experience!
From outside I thought it’s a tiny museum, then I found it has 3 more buildings behind. It’s full of surprises bringing us back to the life in the past. The administrator there was very friendly.

This was an out of nowhere visit, hands down one of my favorite museum visits!! Very well kept! Brought back memories from my childhood. The gentleman volunteering that day was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Highly recommend, cute little town!!

Amazing! We made it a point to stop in Lusk for this museum but we were shocked at all they had to offer. Free admission, donations welcomed. We actually spent an hour an a half looking at all they had to show. Well documented item, many lent by individuals and noted where or how they came to be there. Well worth the stop!

A lovely lady greeted us at the door and let us go about as we wanted. Only a mere donation is requested and it is run by volunteers. There is a lot of history and a lot of artifacts, documents, photos, objects from the time of the old west settlements,etc.,etc,. A must stop if you are in the area.

Finding this museum was a fun surprise. We were road tripping through Wyoming and decided to check it out. The museum has a lot of fun western and historical exhibits.
Tip: Find the antique gum ball machine, put a penny in it from the bowl next to it, and watch it work.

Super cool! Free admission, but donations are accepted. We loved the history here and the antiques. There's a piano and an organ, both of which are functional, in the main hallway. Besides the main building, there are three other buildings with really cool stuff. Go check it out!

Wow was this a nice surprise! Loved it! The lady at the door was very sweet and so helpful. We had a nice chat. If I could make a suggestion, the general store area needs cleaned up. A few things out of place made it look like storage. You have such a gem, shine that up. It could be a showcase!

A must if you are near this Museum! We had a great time in this place. We were there couple minutes before closing coming back from South Dakota and crossing this little town, and a very nice lady came back, opened the museum let us in. Since you entered to the building the history starts with a bunch of antiques artifacts, furniture and equipments. You have to explore the building to go through other rooms and smaller houses inside the property. It was very cool to see the machines and the life style that people used to have decades ago. Thank you for keeping history alive! 😊

Although the name of the museum is The Stagecoach Museum, that's a little misleading because they also have a lot of things on display that have nothing to do with stagecoaches. There is a lot of locally historical things on display, too.
Further, they don't have more on display than they should. Their displays are well.-organized and not so crowded that they can't be looked at individually.
Historic site with a visitor center offers audio tours of the military post plus outdoor activities.
From the parking lot, head up to the left to find the signs and the visitors center. Stop in there first before touring to get maps, Junior Ranger booklets and more!
Some houses look closed but the doors are hidden around back so be sure to walk all the way around buildings!
Great picnic area right by the very clean latrines near the parking lot.
We had a great time!
(don't miss the Iron Bridge on your way back out)

Wonderful historic site somewhat out of the way. Low crowds, nice gift shop/visitor center, and lots of interesting buildings to explore & enter. Didn’t get there early enough to enjoy the old-timey “bar” (mostly/all non-alcoholic drinks I think), but it looked like a fun experience!
Paul Kovacic — Google review
This historical site has been restored and some areas and well-maintained. There is a film in the visitor center and interesting displays in there. The great thing about this historical site is that you can actually walk in and see inside the buildings. That is not the case in so many areas these days. The stories still make me sad but it's our history of the pain and suffering we caused.😢

Awesome stop! It is amazing how military bases have not changed much since over 100 years ago! It was amazing to see the artifacts, ruins, and inside some of the buildings. The buildings still standing are amazing! I loved seeing this piece of US history in person.

Fort Laramie has no entrance fee! The fort is mentioned in most accounts of people traveling the Oregon Trail, so I had always been curious about what it looked like. We didn't do the auditory tour, because we had little ones with us, but we enjoyed looking in the buildings and reading the signs. There was lots of room for our toddler to run. He especially enjoyed the taxidermy in the officers' quarters. The bathrooms were well maintained and clean. Give yourself at least 2 1/2 hours. They close at 4. We carried the little ones up the steps as they are a bit narrow and steep. Several building have these steps, so it isn't very accessible for someone in a wheelchair or someone with a cane.

Amazing place of American history! The Western expansion wouldn’t be possible had it not been for this place and the many brave souls that fought to defend and protect the settlers.

Nicely preserved history. Some buildings were restored; others are left as ruins. It's a good balance. Lots of great information. Friendly folks. I was lucky enough to get there while the entrance was free! Well worth a visit. Plan on 1.5 hours
This was really neat and a good place to stretch your legs and take in a little bit of history. I also found amazing to actually walk where the wagons had made a smooth path in the stone. There are two ways up to see it, both are pretty steep, make sure to take your time if inclines are hard on you.
Heather .Heater — Google review
Fantastic! There are multiple stretches and you can actually walk around in. Walk in the tracks of those following the Oregon Trail. We have not seen other “ruts” this clear and accessible.

Not a high glamour stop, but historically interesting. Definitely not crowded. Interesting visual to think about and compare the 1800s settlers, iron wheels, no suspension, heat and bugs with our current cars that insulate us for the environment.

You must stop. Just takes a few minutes to get there. Worth seeing. Quick break on a long drive. Beautiful and amazing history.
Becky Bertalan — Google review
The trail ruts are really amazing. When your standing in the ruts you get a perspective of the number of travelers, wagons, and goods that came through there. Today, the area probably looks a lot like it did when the settlers came through. After we visited, we went to register cliff as a close by side trip. After that we went to Fort Laramie. Also, a very good stop in the area. These three sites are must see locations for American history buffs. Highly recommend.
Chris Towner — Google review
Best preserved ruts along the Oregon Trail. Must-see if you're interested in the Trail. Mind blowing how many wagons it must have taken to leave such a permanent mark on the landscape.
Chris — Google review
Ok, this was much more interesting than I thought it would be. I do love history and I’ve heard of the Oregon Trail ruts before, butI had no idea these were so pronounced where you could see the the indentation of thousands of wagons that made there way over these rocks.
All I can say is that I hope they had good cushions to sit on because that much have been pretty bumpy!
It is back a gravel road, but we took our rental sports car back there with no problem. Not sure what that would be like in wet conditions though.
There are two sets of ruts, the main set at the top of the rocks and another one on the way down, so walk the entire loop.
Andy Kachelmeier — Google review
Cool spot for a short walk to stretch out your legs and learn a little bit about the history of America. Only a few blocks off the main highway too. The trail to the left is a little steep in spots, but the trail on the right is more gradual and better for those with mobility limitations. Both go to the same spot.
Brady Howe — Google review
I was debating wether I should stop here or not and I am so glad I did. Such a beautiful site and area. Small hike up

Nice quick stop and a short hike to stretch your legs! It was awesome to see ruts from wagons that were on the Oregon Trail! We have done several stops at various sites on our trip and this was an Awesome stop!
Koa-Marie Turner — Google review
Wow! These are some of the best ruts I’ve seen along the entire trail.
Also if you move past the main ruts at the top of the hill and go to the right, there’s a second set of ruts by the small bridge. It’s just a 30 second walk down the path. If you keep your eyes open beyond that, you’ll see the cut in the earth from where the trail led to those ruts.
Watch out for cactus if you decide to walk that portion though! My dog got stuck with a Prickly Pear in his belly.

It was like she had better things to do. It’s the visitor center. Visit. Help me pick things to not miss in town. The Lady there never even told us to check out the rail cars. Never told us about city campground or the neat old bar in town.

This small, quaint county park is a hidden GEM in our country. In my opinion, ranks among State and National Parks. Hosts Travis and Kristie work hard to keep the place pristine and to welcome all guests who enjoy the park. If you are looking for an intimate place to connect with nature and your loved ones, this is it. You can just sit and enjoy the beauty and flowing creek, or you can play horseshoes, volleyball, hike, or picnic. Added benefit that there is NO cellphone or internet connection -- just like it should be when you are outdoors enjoying God's nature. NOTE: no dogs are allowed in the park or campsites.

Great little museum, with a fair mix of stones and fossils. It is part of the local college, and it's very much worth supporting. They do also have a wonderful gift shop with a variety of lovely stones and lots of great books for both adults and kids. It is relatively small, but given the size of Casper it's still an impressive collection.

This is a small, but really nice museum, with a good variety of displays. They have all kinds of rocks, minerals, fossils, and dinosaur bones. The focal point is “Dee” the mammoth, whose bones were found in Wyoming. The display of Dee was really well done, with some castes available to pick up and feel, with information plaques telling the story of what his life might have been like.
The plaques around the museum are really well written. They’re informative with precise language, so you learn a lot with a quick read. I also liked that some of the fossil and bone displays had plastic models of what that dinosaur might have looked like when it was alive; it is easier to visualize that way, rather than just seeing a picture.
The docents were friendly and enthusiastic. One was down on the floor explaining things to some of the younger guests and then up the next minute, roaring like a T-rex, to their delight.
There is also a viewing window into an actual work space for scientists and students.

Great little museum. Thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the geology of Wyoming and seeing all the fossils. Friendly staff.

The Tate Museum was quite amazing. No charge to enter. It had a little bit of everything. Including fossils, gemstones, extensive history into how fossils of Wyoming animals were discovered and the actual fossils of these animals. The history of Dee the wooly mammoth was quite amusing. They also had history and fossils of dinosaurs.
Highly recommend for any age. Took about an hour to hour and a half to look and read everything.

I love geology museums and this one is fantastic! They have both rocks and gems as well as dinosaurs! One thing that I appreciate is that they have multi sensory experiences. They have drawers where you can touch rocks, fossils, and feel the texture. Some of the drawers were closed due to covid but a few were open.
My favorite was the triceratops head. They have a great gift store, like stuff people who love geology would want to buy. Nice staff and the hallways outside the museum also have displays and cool maps.

The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center provides interactive displays that offer insight into the challenges pioneers faced while traveling west, including packing wagons and navigating rivers. Visitors can learn about the area's pioneer history by touring the center, which also includes a gift shop featuring unique items. For those unable to visit early in the day, taking a stroll through downtown is recommended. Future plans may include adding more exhibits related to Native American history.
Had a great group visit at the National Historic Trails Museum. Starts in the Native American section and leads through the Platte River crossing of the Oregon Trail and the modern rail and oil and gas.
Excellent visit. Our hosts arranged some snacks in the lounge area. We spent a little time outdoors. The museum has several great interactive exhibits include a wagon crossing the Platte River, pulling a hand cart, movie, and many artifacts. A wonderful opportunity to learn more about the history of Casper.

Enjoyable couple of hours learning more about the trails (Oregon, California and Mormon) settles took through the Casper area. There is also an exhibit describing a battle that took place between local Indians and U.S. Army in the area. Several interactive activities both children and adults can experience. We had 100 young kids and they were entertained for over 4 hours. None of the kids I was watching were bored. The day flew by and was very enjoyable for all.
There is quite a few places to park with handicap ♿ accessible parking, and inside the museum. There is a pretty long entry ramp which will be easy going in, but a bit of a challenge coming out up the hill to the parking area.
Very nice entertaining event for the whole family 👪

If you are in Casper and have children especially you need to go to this museum. Even as a serious scholar of history I enjoyed the interactive exhibits and the wonderful information. Before you leave you should check out the bookstore which has an outstanding selection of books on Western history.

This is a fantastic museum, easily one of the best in the region. Especially when you consider the (free) price. There are lots of exhibits to see and read, and plenty of educational hands-on activities for the kids.
Perhaps more importantly, I was legitimately moved by the fortitude of the people who walked the Oregon Trail and the Mormon Trail. People walked literally thousands of miles in search of freedom and a better life - through very harsh terrain and in only a few months. It's mind-blowing, particularly when you consider how "soft" we've become as a society.
The other two trails that converged in Casper were the Pony Express and the CA Gold Rush Trail. They were also well represented. The views of Casper and the surrounding terrain were also excellent. It's a must-see attraction if you're traveling through Casper!

My in-laws suggested this museum as part of our family vacation to see historic Latter Day Saint pioneer sites. This was by far our son’s favorite part of the vacation. Educational, interactive, thought provoking. I can’t say enough good things about this museum or its staff. They sent my 8 year old boy home with an entire grocery bag full of maps and stickers (he is in heaven) and my girls each got a really cool sticker (think hydro flask stickers) FOR FREE. We had a group of 15 in total ranging in age from 6 to 64. All of us loved our experience here. My photos are some of the written material that touched me the most. TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE. TAKE YOURSELF HERE. We spent about 2 hours total in the museum, but could have stayed for twice as long. Well worth the stop! Also, the place is free. Completely free. Definitely amazing.

This is a wonderful gem of a museum. While it is smaller, it is also free. There are multiple interactive exhibits to experience while there.
You can crawl into a wagon and experience a simulation of crossing a river. There is a screen at the front and the wagon actually shakes.
There is a great short movie to watch on the half hour and hour. Absolutely worth watching.
While I didn't have kids with me, this museum is awesome for parents with children. They have many things to touch and experience.
You can also get your National Parks Passport Book stamped here even though it isn't listed on the book. This museum is part of a diff organization (Department of Interior, I believe) but still does this. (Inside at the counter to the left after entering). Great staff. Very accommodating and helpful.
Well worth going to this area just to see the museum.

So much local history packed into one small place. If you go during the summer the buildings of the fort are open and it's really interesting to see how the fort was run. I found the indoor museum surprisingly cool. It was well laid out and had a lot of local Casper history in well made displays. My son found the turning stand of hundreds of arrowheads of different materials particularly fascinating. With my kids ages 9 to 3 we were able to spend an easy 45 minutes inside and another 45 minutes outside, but I could have spent much longer inside if on my own as there was so much to read/see/watch. Well worth the $4 entrance fee.

Just $2 a person (1/2 price in the winter because the buildings aren’t open). Lots of history in the museums the people at the desk were very knowledgeable and shared some extra information with us! We were able to peer in some of the windows of the outdoor buildings and still learned lots!!

4 USD per person. Great museum. Lots of interesting things to see. Different exhibits. Indoor and outdoor. Spent more than one hour here. Friendly service. Clean. Interactive stations. Learned a lot about Casper and Wyoming.

This was a fun walk back in history. Displays included old uniforms and period furniture, weapons, old wagons and old dishes and ferry for the river crossing. Log building are original oe good period rebuilds. The early pioneers were strong and talented.

Well worth a visit, it was a good few hours well spent. The museum exhibition was well curated and the content was clear, interesting and informative. The fort was also a great and realistic recreation.

Very interesting and good family experience. Lived here all my life and still learning things about Casper history. I shaparoned my granddaughters 3rd grade field trip. We had a really good guy give us a guided tour. Cool to learn from someone who has really studied this town history.

The tour of the fort was very informative and enjoyable. The employees at the visitors center were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable.
The history of the fort and the surrounding area is very interesting especially the tie in to the Mormon

We happened to arrive just as Rick, their curator, was opening the little exhibit buildings so he gave a little private tour to out of state relatives. They were very impressed with the quality exhibits and history. Our relatives are big history buffs and told us they have seen few museums who had such an extensive local history displayed so well and they have been all over the world. That is why I gave this 5 stars.
I'm a huge Chris Ledoux fan so my opinion is a little biased. Really impressed with the statue that combines rodeo and music! Kaycee seems like the perfect place for this you can see and feel what inspired his music.

A beautiful tribute to an amazing man. Small town feel all around, and this is the perfect place to jot off the highway and stretch your legs and everyone you meet is friendly as can be. An all-around wonderful place to visit.

Such an amazing park in this quiet little town. Make sure to stop in to the Rusty Spur and sign the guest book. If you want a real adventure come visit during Chris LeDoux Days Father's Day weekend!!! God Bless Chris LeDoux!

The man was a legend and I am impressed by this monument. It was very well sculpted and honored Chris' rodeo and music together. Although I did not come to Wyoming specifically for this I would not have traveled through the state without seeing it! Rest well Beneath These Western Skies!

Real nice little park .. a wonderful tribute to World Champion Bareback Rider Chris LeDoux. 1948-2005. Also a country music star with 6 million records sold. Town of Kaycee WY known for producing about a dozen or so professional rodeo stars. And the town has a population of just over 250!

Easy to find and a beautiful place to visit! Excellent landscaping and a excellent statue of a real American hero!
Historical immersion done right! A neat experience for people in all walks of life for sure. If you enjoy history and inspiring stories of perseverance, courage, and faith, you must go experience martin’s cove. Only a short distance from Independence rock and Devil’s gate, this monument to American emigrants is on the thoroughfare of the Oregon, California, Pony Express, and Mormon Pioneer Trails.
This is a significant part of American History and national expansion. Well worth the trip. It’s absolutely free, and has something for every age.

Made this one of our main stops a long our trip to Mount Rushmore. The Missionaries went out of their way to make sure we had a great visit. Suggest reading about the area a head of time to learn of the hardships and sacrifices of over 500,000 early Saints and pioneers that traveled this route. This is part of the California, Oregon, Mormon, and Pony Express trail. This is sacred ground.

Martin’s Cove is a place of solitude and a memorial to those who lost their lives searching for Zion, a place to worship God, according to the dictates of their own conscience, without persecution. It is Holy ground, and you can feel it!

Great stop to learn about the pioneers coming west. People were friendly and knew their history. Everyone there was very helpful and answered all our questions. They were patient while we had to translate to a couple of people in our group. Make you appreciate what all these pioneers went through. Worth the stop.

Martins Cove was very nice. The missionaries were very knowledgeable and loved being able to help us. The visitor center is full of accounts of pioneers and pictures that help you understand what they went through. The museum is very cool with all the artifacts and interesting stories. The bunkhouse and washhouse are also extremely detailed and hyperealistic. The nearby river is so pretty. I can't wait to come back. Fave stars!

Beautifully Sacred historical place well worth the trip. It was wonderful to walk the trail our pioneer ancestors crossed through. It's a beautifully sacred place to remember the sacrifices made along the way. Lots to see and do for the whole family some buildings have been restored and can be toured. Highly encourage everyone to go and walk the trails. Bring plenty of water the trail is roughly 3-4 hours and it's hot in the summer. The Missionaries serving here are very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful. They have a nice visitors center some restored, some original and some rebuilt buildings. Friendly, helpful people. The history and story are inspiring. The trek, hike, they offer is about 3 hours, make sure you stay on the trails because there really are rattlesnakes!

A beautiful and historic site pertinent to many western migration movement but of special significance to the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of a handcart expedition that endured great hardship near the site.

We really enjoyed our visit to Martin's Cove, we did the full walk to Martin's Cove, a 5 mile round trip, and the walk to Devil's Gate, a 1.5 mile round trip. The Visitor Centre tells the story of the Martin Handcart company and the Sun family who build on ranch on the site. It is all very well done and I can highly recommend it.

I'll never travel to Grand Teton National Park without this trip planner again
My kids and I always have a great time when we come to star plunge. We have been here multiple times in the majority of the times the facility is clean. The only thing I would like to see changed is the option to reserve an area for birthday parties, even if it's only a 2-hour reservation time, especially in the winter when the outdoor area is too chilly for a party.
Crystal Merrill — Google review
Been visiting the Star Plunge for over 40 years and it's still an amazing experience. There are very few places in the world where one can have such a unique experience. Don't pass it up on your way to the National Parks. Take the time to stop in, relax, and let the kids play. The price is reasonable and is good for the entire 12-hour business day with in and out privileges. They rent towels, suits, and lockers so no excuses.
K W — Google review
There is an indoor and outdoor pool. An indoor hot tub called the lobster boil that can exceed 104 degrees according to the sign. The indoor pool was 95 degrees from what I was told. The indoor pool had two bubbling areas similar to a hot tub on the shallow end that were perfect for kids. Outside next to the pool was another hour tub that was 4 feet deep and a small kids slide into the outdoor pool. There is a tube slide and also an outdoor slide that requires a foam matt to slide on.
The mineral water turned my silver necklace gold and then a rainbow colored tarnish.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hot springs & park! Love the eclectic and old time feel of the hot springs pools, vapor caves & bath house. There are several different pools [indoor & outdoor], a diving board & slides. There are showers & restrooms and a gift shop with a nice selection of bathing suits, pool toys & gifts.
Note that there is a charge to get into the pools, however, the bath house is free. The bath house is much hotter water & therefore has a 20 minute time limit. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. You can take your own drinks & food [no alcohol or glass]. The atmosphere around the park is welcoming & colorful. Lots of fresh flowers. There is plenty of free parking. Several lifeguards on duty.

Family owned for 50 years. This place is heaven on earth with two giant mineral pools, several hot tubs, and a hot cave that makes you feel like you're hanging out with shaman and being healed from outside into your soul!! I brought 4 kids and two adults. Was less than 100 to get inside. No wait at all. Small price for towels and a return $ once returned to the front desk. My toddler had a life vest provided free of charge. And her favorite part was definitely the slide!!! Fort time to Thermopolis & we will definitely be back every year!! Perfect family vacation. Thank you, Star Plunge, for being awesome!!!!

Honestly love this place, there’s not a year that goes by where I don’t visit it. And every year it seems to get better and better, great place to bring your entire family or even yourself, it’s incredibly relaxing and soothes out your soul. Here’s some photos I’ve taken. By the by I’ve only been doing photography for 11 months now so bare with me as these aren’t the best but not the worst!☺️ All of my socials including my Instagram are Tersdaut if you’re interesting in seeing a bit more of my work :)

Fun hot water springs park. Several pools of various sizes. Young kids will like the slide going into the outdoor pool. There are two orher larger slides for older kids on up. Fun place and fun experience.

A cool way to experience the hot springs. A little pricey but you can come and go all day. It smells weird bc of the sulphur but otherwise pretty clean.
Not a lot of food options so bring a cooler. Lifeguards were either completely disinterested in what you were doing or completely over the top lol
Overall a good time

Super fun place to take the kids. We drove 8 hours to stay a weekend in thermopolis and Star Plunge is the best part of the trip so far! Picture is of indoor pool. There's also an outdoor pool and hot tub, jumping board and 3 water slides, 1 of which is closed until summer season starts.

Star Plunge is a great Hot Mineral Pool House with several pools and different temperatures. There is an outside pool and two slides outside, a hot water pool and a jump tower. Inside you have another big pool, and two whirlpools, a vapor cave and another slide. The changing rooms and showers are good too. Plenty of benches and seats outside. We really enjoyed our time here!

Fun, relaxing time for adults and kids. We drove down from Billings for a little soak and exploration. Star Plunge was clean and had ample space to spread out. The only downsides were the parking is very limited and it's a tad expensive for the quality. Still, a good time and well maintained property.

This place was awesome. It was in the off season when we went so it wasn’t busy at all, which was so nice, but it definitely seems like a hot spot to be. They have so many different areas to soak in indoor and out. My husband and I had a great time going from the indoor pool to the outdoor hot tub. They have a huge water slide that was closed, but it looked like a lot of fun
Kid-friendly educational displays of Jurassic-era bones & specimens from nearby dig sites.
What an amazing place! I saw this on a map and we decided to take a trip to see it. We loved seeing all the fossils and learning about them and where they came from. We plan on going back when it is cooler so we can do the dig tour. It is such a great place for kids. We can't wait to go back.

Absolutely wonderful. The museum is small enough that you can get through every exhibit within a couple of hours and the kids will not tire. Staff and volunteers are so helpful and sweet. We will be back next summer for another dig, too!!

This is a great dinosaur and natural history museum! I love that the exhibit starts with the natural history of Earth and goes through time to the dinosaurs. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
The gift shop has a great selection of items to purchase from toys and books to decorative knick knacks and shirts. I highly recommend checking out this museum!
MaeTCB — Google review
Great for the kiddos, pretty small. We didn't take the tour bus to the dig site and just strolled around the museum was pretty spendy imo but still cool all the same. Most the fossils seemed to be replicas which I suppose doesn't really matter all that much. Probably one of the only things to do for a family other than the hot spring pools.
the builder — Google review
The quality of exhibits is outstanding. Each display tells a story. This isn’t a museum just telling you the name of a dinosaur and where it lived. They tell stories about how species lived and interacted with the ecosystems. I learned a lot as did my kids. If I was just rating the quality of the museum it would be 4.5. It needs a few more hands-on kid centered activities to be a 5. The quarry is a separate tour and charge. We didn’t realize that until they announced the tour departing. By then it was sold out. So we missed out on that. Which leads me to the quality of staff greeting visitors as they enter. They two we encountered seemed detached and uninterested or poorly trained. We were not greeted, the ticket options were not clearly explained. I tried asking questions and it was like pulling teeth to get answers. And later when we tried to buy a pretzel the response was, “we have no idea if they are good.” I don’t even Know what that meant. If I judged the facility on the quality of staff I encountered I would give it a 1. Don’t let staff with bad attitude distract from the overall quality of the museum. Also, billboards advertise “kids dig” but it isn’t like you can just walk up and sign your kids up to dig. These are booked in advance, periodic events that cost a fair amount. I was pretty disappointed in that.

My family really enjoyed the museum! We try to visit a dinosaur museum in each state we travel to and this one was great! Wish we would've done the tour of the dig site though but we didn't have the time.
Gabrielle Schneider — Google review
Lots of different fossils and a trip through time as you walk through the exhibits. The family really enjoyed it and we paid for the extra Dino Dig and actually went to a dig site and my son found a couple of small fossils that he was allowed to keep.
Casey Boomer — Google review
We stumbled on this place on our way to Colorado and wow it blew us away. My boyfriend had so much fun nerding out over all the fossils. We did the extra tour to the dig site and it was very informative and interesting. I would plan 2-3 hours to do the whole museum if you are a big fossil fan. It’s a small place but they really pack it all in!
Amber Holland — Google review
We purchased the Dig For a Day, and it was absolutely amazing. Our Dig was at a site where a Diplodocus was fossilized, so there was an astounding amount of fossils at the surface, and we got to continue working to excavate them. Our guides were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and worked well with both kids and adults. After lunch, we had additional time to move to another site and then return to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center for a tour of the museum.

Tons of authentic fossils and bones. It's a fair sized place. I was so happy with my experience here. We didn't do any of the digging you're able to do here, but getting to see the inside and learn a lot is plenty. Really incredible place.

Our Kids did the kids dig and had a blast with all the activities. The dig site was rained out when they went, so we went a couple days later and got to dig as a family. It was a lot of fun!
I was a little worried because they serve them lunch and my kids are picky eaters, but they figured out what all the kids would eat before the parents left. It was well organized and a wonderful experience!
I don't know what general admission is, but the kids dig was $100 each and the shovel ready all ages dig was $80/each.
The kids have a whole bag full of souvenirs from the kids event too.

What a fun museum! We kinda rushed (skimmed vs thoroughly read) the exhibits but when we return to Thermopolis we will allow us more time. We also got to watch them (behind glass) work on the fossils! Awesome gift shop and bought some great stuff! I'm super excited about the malachite stone box to stash goodies!

Our family had a great time looking at all the cool dinosaur bones in this place! The info cards were interesting and the variety was very cool. They brightened up the entrance section and added many more items than our last trip about 7 years ago. They have a play area and tables at one end where you can still see the kids walking around. The gift shop had a nice selection and was reasonably priced. The bathrooms were clean and the facility was well kept. We enjoyed adding our pin to the map and seeing where everyone was from.

Great dinosaur exhibit. They display the most complete supersaurus skeleton in the world. It is huge - 106 ft long.
8,000 gallons flow daily from the hot spring feeding a free bathhouse at this park known for bison.

Hot Springs State Park is easily the coolest State Park in Wyoming! The geothermal features and pools are amazing and second only to Yellowstone. We stopped over to see the hot springs on our way to Cody and it was worth it. First off, entrance is free, which is great. You can walk all around the hot springs and across the swinging bridge, it's great. It's a beautiful green patch in the middle of what seems like desert. There's a great play ground and there are several "pay" pools and hot pools. Great place!

Good times! I've visited Thermopolis several times now and it is such a great place to chill and release the stress from the grind. I recommend a later spring or early summer visit if you are bothered by the wind and cold. It was surprisingly busy for this mid April visit.
Definitely visit the Dinosaur museum, walk around the park and hit the hot spring pools. They have various shops around town that are worth perusing too. I like checking out the rock shops. They have some pretty cool fossils and historical items of interest.
I have stayed at and recommend the Safari Inn (Days Inn) and also recently the Quality Inn. I have heard good things about the Best Western plus. The Quality Inn had an indoor pool and hot tub (scored!! the outdoor ones at the Western and Safari were closed still). They also had a cantina that serves some local brews and some alcoholic beverages.

This is a nice park. Small with a decent amount of attractions. You can make this a day trip. Not a lot of people either. We did the spirit and monument trail. Spirit trail will basically take you to see everything. The swinging bridge is sketchy lol. Monument trail is a bit challenging. Nice views when you get to the top and an old grave with a box full of people logging their adventure. It was nice seeing all of the springs and the history behind them. I'm glad they're still here and bubbling. Lots of pretty picture opportunities. We will be back to actually use the pools and what not. We also came close to the bison while out on the trail. We didn't approach them but they were all chilling across from the trail by the cemetery. I got to see them wallow. There's babies too. So cute.

The gentleman who checked us in to our hotel was courteous, helpful and professional. 3/18/24 around 10:30am. The room was very clean and wonderful. The staff at the casino and the bar and grill were also nice. Monday through Wednesday a lot of things are closed, close early, or even though items are on the menu, it doesn't mean they have them. This should be made more clear up front; but my opinion only. The experience of having a place to stay with easy parking for our 18 wheeler (we are truck drivers) and the man at check in made it a great experience.

I have a big dog. They put us on the 3rd floor. When you book through hotels.com you still have to pay at the desk.
I tried to cash in a slot voucher and you have to get a card with a lot more info then they need. So I didn’t get to use them.
As per other complaints the machines don’t pay at all.
Front desk was rude when I had to redo my cards when they knew I was here for two nites. Tv doesn’t work very well so you have to watch things on your phone. I’ll never stay again. Food good room nice

This casino is an absolutely awesome place to spend a day or two. Great food. fantastic selection of slots, and one of the very BEST host I have encountered in my 60 years. (ASK FOR CARLINO LOPEZ) Very nice guy, super professional, The hosts in Vegas could learn a thing or two from Carlino. He will make sure your experience is Top Notch.
As far as the Gaming. Yesterday, on a day trip I won 24 hand pays totalling over $53,000.00 dollars and last Wednesday I went home with $20,000.00 in winnings on 16+ hand pays. This is gaming at its best. I have watched Cowboy Slots on Utube and his videos show both Shoshone rose and Wind River. I think he works for Rose so he's a little bias but you can see the Wind River Casino on a couple of his videos. My opinion is there's NO comparison. Wind River outdoss Rose by leaps and bounds.
Remember to ask for Carlino and he will take care of you.
The food in the restaurants is TOP Notch and as I live in Wyoming I have only had a need to stay in the hotel a couple times. On those occasions I was very satisfied. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. They do have pet allowed rooms as well, so if your traveling with a lil family member he or she will have a place to stay as well. Here's a couple recommendations on slots for you. Mighty cash. It is a medium volitility multi denominational game that can have very good pays and frequent bonus features.
Pinball. One of the most popular slots ever made. This is the older machine with a pinball pay on one single line pinball icon. Bets up to $20 denom. and low volatility so more frequent feature hits.
Dragon link high risk high reward
fun game. When it's hot it pays cold, well you know, No Smoking so it's a comfortable environment for ALL. If your a smoker there's locations close to the entrance.
Friendly staff just a great little casino.
If your anywhere near Riverton you should stop in and check the Wind out.

Casino and facilities are nice however only 4-5 keno/poker machines in the whole place. 99.9% of machines are slots, which I don't care for. A few table games and roulette. My negative opinion is fully based on lack of anything other than slots...

The staff was so kind, the room was lovely, and everything was simple to navigate. Even the free soaps were adorable! The food services like the Buffalo Restaurant and the Cee Noku Cafe were delicious—I got breakfast at the cafe for a great price (2 eggs, corned beef hash, hash browns, plus a Maple Long John - all so good). We were also happy to see they still take Covid seriously, so masks are required. Again, can’t stress enough how sweet everyone working there was. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had!

I did not stay at the hotel but ate at the red willow. The food was good but very slow. Service was nothing special and not bad. If it was just food alone, I would return, but the whole experience does nothing to make me want to return

I visited here about a year ago for a few nights. I had a great time. I went back a few days ago and had even a better time. They have a lot of brand new machines including 20 or 30 that I just played in Vegas. The food in their restaurant is more than affordable and very delicious. Have fun.

We pulled our RV into the lot hoping for a quick nights sleep and nothing more. What we discovered when walking into the casino/hotel was a staff who were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The food, both dinner and breakfast were very tasty. The best out of all our stops during our 3 week road trip. There is a small museum showcasing some Arapaho artwork that is a must see. We’d like to thank all the staff for their hospitality.

The hotel is very nice. Room was clean spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Restaurant was very generous with portions. Consider sharing a meal at the sports bar at least. My only criticism is about Googles booking page, UT says there is a free breakfast and there is not.

Front desk tried to hustle me. Told me he just booked his last room. As I was booking online he said a room came available and would match the price online if I booked at the desk for the same price.....slots are extremely tight. Decent room for a long trip through Yellowstone on the way to South Dakota. Use it for a rest shower and possibly some food, DONT gamble here
Legend Rock State Petroglyph Site is a hidden gem in Wyoming. The Native American significance can certainly be seen and felt when visiting. There is a nice one room interpretive center that discusses some of the history of the area and a well-marked trail that takes you around to the big panels of Native American petroglyphs. The trail is an easy mile walk, but make sure you wear some hikers. The volunteer monitoring the site was very kind and helpful.

Cooler summer evening. Large trail is gentle. Trail with numbers a bit more work. Lots of little lizards.

Went at sunset and I love it 🇺🇸not just the place, but the drive there. At the base there is small/nice interpretive center and it is well kept.Be aware that there are gravel roads during the drive there and wild life is everywhere,so you can really see where the inspiration for the Carvings/Drawings came from. Please do not litter y'all ❤️ I took a WY flag gifted to me in Cody.

Very cool petroglyphs. Trail was fairly well maintained, and it didn't take very long to see them all. Outhouse was open and picnic tables were available. The visit center was closed and didn't have hours.

Nice walk with really cool Native American Petroglyphs! It's very quiet and secluded. Wear appropriate footwear as the area does have rattlesnakes.

Amazing to see. Not much of a hike just a nice stroll. I was able to take a stroller on the main trail and watch my husband and toddler go on the smaller trail to get closer to the art. Beautiful to see and nice brochure to explain what you're looking at. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful museum. The pioneer and the heritage museum are now one. For about five bucks I spent 3 hours inside and outside. People are wonderful. Exhibits are fun and well displayed. Parked my RV and Toad okay. Nice bathrooms. A block up from the Safeway. Found out Sacagawea's grave was 16 mi away from the docent so after the museum I drove up there. Lewis and Clark are my heroes so that was also a thrill.

By chance we discovered this really worth seeing museum in Lander. With a lot of love and dedication, authentic buildings out of this area have been brought together, preserved and are presented in a just wonderful garden landscape. Our passionate guide Barb (a volunteer) was the cherry on the cake on this sunny autumn afternoon. It´s a must see for all ages.

A must see! Our kids (ages from 4-18) loved every minute of it and learned a lot. Well worth the time to stop and check out the inside of every building. Kids loved seeing the old schoolhouse. Can be safely done with masks as most of it is outside walking short distances from little building to building. Don’t miss the walk to the teepees across the stream and bridges. Beautiful place to visit.

South Pass City State Historic Site, located 2 miles west of Atlantic City, was established in 1867 after the discovery of gold in Sweetwater Creek in 1842. Visitors are greeted by a huge abandoned mine and an old trading post before reaching the cute refurbished town. The town offers paid tours for visitors over 18 or 19 years old and features preserved items from its historic past.
We really enjoyed stopping here and seeing the replicas of the old buildings and the learning the short history of this mining town. Make sure you go down the hill past the Carissa mine to find South Pass City.
The story of the miners, towns people, bankers, wives, children, and women of the west that made this town a bustling mining town for a short time is told as you stroll through the town. There is a booklet that you need to get from the dance hall gift shop to take you into the lives and buildings on this site to bring it to life.
To see the mine you need to make reservations and they are only open a short time during the year. This is only a few of the pictures of this amazing site.

It was hard to bring ourselves to pay the entry fee because it didn't look like there was much to see but once we got walking through the town, there was much more than we thought. We spent hours there and would have stayed longer if we had time. It was very interesting and informative!
Janell Lieber — Google review
The lady in the gift shop was very nice. We had a very nice time here. Had the place to ourselves for most of the time. Checked out all the buildings and followed the walking guide. Panned for gold, were a little confused on how to do it at first, then we got the hang of it. Found lots of garnet but no gold. Next time! The buildings are super neat and interesting. There's a few hiking trails as well. We did the one that goes to the stamp mill. Tried some sarsaparilla- so good! Wish we would have came when the general store was open though.

A fun stop, a small gift shop. The gravel road is about a mile and a half and steep at times, take it slow and easy. We made it fine in our large transit van. Worth making the stop if nearby.

South Pass City is a restored or revived Old West mining town located between Lander and Farson, Wyoming. The South Pass was a pathway to the West through the Rocky Mountains for many groups.
While traveling through the area, travellers panned for gold and eventually struck a vein.
A non-profit organization has restored, renovated or rebuilt a slice of those Wyoming gold rush days, with indoor and outdoor displays presenting life in this region.
A mine and its mill machinery are available for hands-on visits, as well as homes, businesses, Churches, saloons, and so on are available for self-guided tours with a handy guidebook available at the gift shop. Many regional and historical books are available as are items for young and old.
Located at more than 6,500 feet in elevation, the best time to visit is in Summer. It's located West of Lander, Wyoming, the nearest nearby full service center.
If you're interested in mining, Westward migration, or mid- to late-1800s history, South Pass City in Wyoming is a great place to visit.
Atlantic City is nearby, too!

Was really surprised arriving to see a huge abandoned mine as well as an old trading post before driving down to the cute refurbished town. You have to pay to tour the refurbished town (only if older than 18 or 19) Didn’t seem like harped on anyone for age or payment though. The refurbished town had preserved items and there was gold panning available for free right next to the river and bridge. After panning for about 30-45 minutes I did have small flecks of gold as well as rubys. There is a bathroom. Great place to take pictures.

This quiet little ghost town site was a favorite stop along our trip. Our entire family really enjoyed it! There are several buildings which you can enter in to and are setup as if they were stuck in time. Really well done historic site.

Wanted to see an old ghost town on my trip and picked this one. Quite happy that I did. From the time you arrive it's as if you are transported back in time and are again in the old West. The atmosphere here brings to back to the days of old and you get a feel for what life must have been like for those that came here to make a life.
The buildings are amazing, some lovingly restored and others in their natural state. All tell a story that will make you yearning for more. There is a nice gift shop here and markers throughout the site that tell the store of a once vibrant outpost that faded away as did so many towns on the frontier. Well worth a visit if you can stop by.

This place is absolutely terrific and a unique gem to visit. The visitor’s center had a nice display of the various animals and fish in the region and it was a pleasant learning opportunity for the kids.
The really exciting part was the overview of the trout. They were massive! Without exaggeration, some of the trout would be about 15-20 lbs and are bigger than many salmon. Make sure you bring some quarters to use in the fish food dispenser if you want to feed the fish.
We would happily go back and enjoy this state park.

Staying nearby for a month. So we visited today to see what we could do here. Did one little hike. It was stunning. The views are amazing. We are from the east coast so this is a little different for us. I'm a waterfall girl through and through so I can't wait to do that hike. We also went to the visitor center and saw the sinks. Amazing. So many pretty wildflowers here and all the sage. A dream. We can break this up into a few days. Lots to do.

I loved this area and the state park. Though the visitors center closed Labor Day there were good descriptive boards on the sink and the rise odmf the river. I had a nice campsite.
As a historian, I felt drawn to come here and pay my respects. Once I arrived, everything in the cemetery was set up with such delicacy and purpose that I felt like I shouldn't disturb another culture's burial sites to feed my own ego. A beautiful and profound experience that I was able to enjoy from a distance.

I felt honored to pay respect to this woman, who undoubtabtly endured much. Some of the crosses and graves were beautiful. It was sad to see a disproportionate amount of baby graves and short lives. Meh. I thought the Jackalope was an actual creature and came in wanting to learn more about it (thought this was similar to the Big Horn Sheep Center a short distance away). Probably should have Googled it first lol. There is some fun merchandise with some fun humor. The giant dolls might be fun for small kids. They do let you climb on the displays. So.... A long long loooong time ago when I was driving around the country looking at mountains and stuff I drove through this little town. One of my family members yelled out, "LETS GO TO THAT PLACE!" I turned around and yelled back," HECK YEAH LETS DO IT!!" So me, aunt Milly, sister Sara, brother Him, little nephew Burt and little niece Burtette all went in. We left Grandpa Poopy Pants in the car, he doesn't like going anywhere.... None of us know why he comes on vacation with us.
Anyways we were just needing to stop to pee and maybe get a drink and maybe a whatnot or two. Turns out that this place has a bit of everything. I bought a magnet that is still on my refrigerator today. Says something about this whole town is high... Elevation 6900 ft. We spent quite a while in the store looking around. Forcing the niece and nephew to sit on the oversized Jackalope. It's really fun but it's far to big to be a real Jackalope ...(I know a real Jackalope named Samuel L Jefferson, he's from Illinois. You wouldnt think Jackalopes are in Illinois but Samuel told me that Illinois is an awful state and no one thinks to look for them there.)
I don't remember too much else about the store, other than they have a large selection of a lot of different stuff. And the guy working the money box was a nice man if memory serves. One thing I do remember, were the beautiful mountain views in and out of this town.
If you are still reading this review, that's cool and so are you. But if you find yourself at this place, tell them Gutter sent ya. They don't know me and it won't get you notin but a strange look. And that's something you can hold dear to your soul for the rest of your life!
Ps. I love you
Was a sad movie that made me cry... So much... Like over and over. I hate that movie.... But this store, I like.

This place is so much fun, the lady running the show made it so worth the stop! She is friendly, personable, knowledgeable and a wonderful woman to just chat with. I only wish I had gotten her name and contact info. My college friend and I were on an adventure and made sure we stopped at Country Store on our way back through to home. We were going to buy a pie! Yes PIE! Unfortunately, they didn't have any this day, lol. Next time! We bought great fudge and utilized their very nice, clean facilities. A room of T-Shirts is a must stop to see, and remember, there may be a Big Foot around any corner! ~Best stop in all of Wyoming!

Pumped gas one pump 1. It took over 20 minutes to fill my 12 gallon tank. There is no pay at the pump option. The inside of the store is very crowded and claustrophobia inducing, the narrow doorway and isle to the cashier makes it difficult to navigate in and out of the store if there are any other patrons in the store. But the thing that makes this a one star review is the fact that the pumps DO NOT SHUT OFF when your tank is full. Gas overflowed my tank and ran down the side of my vehicle. It wasn’t until I heard the splashing on the ground that I realized the pump was just going to keep going. Such an extreme safety hazard and a waste of money and time. I’ll never return to this gas station.

Was going to stop and visit here like we've done at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation but just to get in the door for the three of us was over $15. Might have been worth it but the building is small so didn't think there could be that much to see. Moved on down the road to other exhibits.

Beautiful display and great staff – definitely a must see.
This is located right off the south side of the main road through Dubois (26) and in front of Dubois Park. There is a fair size parking lot. The building and exhibit are free and are very nice. You enter and exit through the gift shop. They are COVID compliant with shields and face masks. As you enter you are greeted by a person who explains about the exhibit and offers information on a driving tour through a wildlife management area about 4 miles east of town. There is a 10 minute video that runs on a loop and displays that show the various sheep and habitats. It is very nicely done and the staff was excellent. I leaned a lot and recommend this for anyone interested in bighorn sheep.

Wife and I travel full time in our F-450 and Grand Design 380-FLR 42Ft. 5th wheel RV. I'm a retired veteran, currently work as a VOIP IT Tech and remote work full time.
One Saturday mid-morning, we were riding through Pinedale Wyoming and saw a sign - Mountain Man Museum. What is this place? We pulled into the gravel parking lot and took a look at the place from the outside.
The first thing that ran through my head was Jerimiah Johnson the mountain man movie with Robert Redford. I wasn't too far off. This build LOOKS small from the outside but believe me, it's rather big once you get in there. It has a basement with the second half of your self tour.
We were a little hesitant to pay the admission fee and am I glad we did. I got a senior discount too. For the small price we got a REAL historical adventure. Starting off, the front reception area was EXTEMELY clean and well taken care of. Restrooms we very clean. This area has your typical pamphlets and trinkets and tourism paraphernalia. The ladies at the front desk were VERY nice and were inquisitive as to where we were from. After a brief conversation and signing the guest book we were led to the entrance at the main theatre where my eyes popped open with excitement.
This is a self paced tour and if you want you can listen to the movies they have playing throughout your self paced tour. I won't go too much into detail since it took us almost 2 hours to go through each exhibit and read and gawk at all the history this place has. Relics from 1700-1800's, An entire section dedicated to the history of the weapons from this era, Army forts things, Indians garb, trapper items, stuffed animals, stories galore.. This was definitely a gem of a find. Who knew in this little town such a treasure of relics and history could be found.
For those interested in this kind of stuff, OR you have children that you want to pass on this type of United States history that most people don't know or understand, PLEASE go here.
I HIGHLY recommend this place to all audiences.

Had a great time here. June 2020. I have been doing native American powwows and regalia making for much of my life but I built my first flintlock rifle this year and am in the process of creating a mountain man persona. I got a LOT of pictures and ideas from here. The exhibits were good quality and interesting. There is plenty to look at especially if you enjoy the fur trade time period. I have a ton more pictures of detailed pieces but I don’t want to post too much and ruin it for ya!

We originally set out do to one of their 2 hour rides, but rain had made the slopes too muddy so we did the 1 hour instead. While we were upset at first, we were glad they made the decision for the our safety and the horses. Our group of 6 was able to have our own guide through the beautiful wilderness. The horses all looked well cared for and were great to ride. I don't remember our guide's name, but he was very friendly and willingly answered all of our questions. I recommend Swift Creek for a great time!

This place is terrific! Our wrangler, Shayla, couldn’t have been any better. Nor could her co wrangler, Mo!
My girls all had the best time of our journey yet.
Shayla even let my granddaughter wear her hat for a final picture after the outstanding ride!
We are not experienced horse people, but they made us feel comfortable and safe on our ride. We did the 2 hour ride across the creek, through the forest and up the mountain to get a fabulous view of the Grand Tetons!
Highly recommend!

We were visiting the Grand Tetons from Richmond Virginia. After reading all the great reviews about this place, we decided to go for it on Friday 9/15 and take the 2 hour trail ride, and I'm SOOOO glad we did! It turned out to be the LAST DAY of trail riding for the season...we were so lucky to catch them before the closed. If you want a serious mountain trail ride with stream crossings, a variety of terrain, from steep to easy and gorgeous views, this is the ride for you. They have something like 180 horses, so you're almost guaranteed a "private ride" which is exactly what we got. All the staff is very friendly, the horses are well cared for and well mannered. Hondo the trail dog kept everybody together :) Bill our guide was awesome and if you just listen to him...you'll learn a lot about the spirit of horses and a different way to look at life in general. It's easily the best trail ride I've ever experienced...worth every penny if not more.

What a great adventure. The horses were super tame. The guide, Levi, was super knowledgeable. We had an amazing time. We had an hour drive out there and back from where we stayed but it was totally worth it. Hondo, their cattle dog, was a love bug!!!

Such a cool experience! I’ve been horseback riding in a few different states & this was my fave! We did the 2 hour ride & it was pretty cool. We went through fields, up & down hills & rocks, went through the woods & then went through a river twice! It was awesome! Our horses end up trotting a lot which is cool so your not just walking the whole time. Always wish I can gallop, but nope. Our guide Beth was super sweet & I can’t wait to go back!

If you’re looking for a top notch trail ride while visiting the Tetons, you’ve now found it! My husband and I loved our ride through the river and up a mountain culminating in a spectacular view of the Tetons! Our guide, Levi, wasn’t just personable, but he was exceptionally knowledgeable and was a great conversationalist as well. He took us out on a private ride which enhanced our ability to converse and learn from his breadth of experience. This was, without a doubt, the best trail ride experience we’ve ever had!

We are extremely happy we found the wonderful folks at Swift Creek Outfitters. Our rental spot was in Cody so we had plenty of time to get there with no reservation necessary. Our ride started within 15 minutes of our arrival and we had Levi for our wrangler/guide. Their horses are amazing. We learned lots about the area from him and Chelsie, and I'd sure like to try an elk hunt in the fall with them.

We were a party of 3 on a Saturday morning. They were quick to greet us and get us out on the horses. Our two guides, Bradley and Matt were fantastic! They were knowledgable about the horses and area and very engaging. My two young adult kids said this was the best riding experience they have ever had! The water crossing was exciting, the views at the top of "Big Daddy" were breathtaking and the dog Rita who accompanied us from base camp was the unofficial leader of the pack! Highly recommended! This outfitter is a bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth the detour to get there!

OMG the best horse back riding experience we had anywhere !! Totally worth the drive. We took the Little Pulpit ride which doesn't required any experience. We were with our kids of 7 and 9 and they had no experience. They selected perfectly the right horses for them to ride and the loved it. Uou have a fantastic trail with an amazing view on Grand Tetons. You go a bit downhill, cross a river and have a nice ride trough the forest. An unforgettable family experience with super professional guide. Don't miss it.

We had a great two hour ride this morning! Staff were excellent! Justice our guide did a great job with my 10 year old daughter who had some issues keeping her horse on the right path. Excellent experience, highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I went on the 2.5 hour “grand daddy” tour over Labor Day weekend. He was worried about getting there early, since they don’t take reservations, but it was not a problem. The Outfitters have a lot of horses that are saddled and ready to go when you get there. This ride was beautiful, but also not for the faint of heart. My boyfriend and I both have some experience riding (we’re not expert by any means), but there were some areas of the trail that were quite steep going up and down. We went deep into the woods and came out on a high ridge just below the top of the mountain with stunning views all around us. Our guide, Bill, was superb and provided little tips on how to guide the horses through the terrain, as well as interesting conversation. He was also very knowledgeable about the area, and pointed out various other features that we saw. Overall, this was one of the highlights of our trip and if we’re ever in the area again, we plan to schedule another ride with them!

I had an amazing time on the 2 hour Big Grand View horseback trail ride with Swift Creek Outfitters in the Bridger Teton National forest! Bill was an excellent guide telling us facts about the Tetons, the forest and the creatures that roam within. I rode Dixie, a fantastic mare for a beginner like me. We rode up some steep inclines at a good clip, knocked my glasses right off my head! (Thanks Bill for retrieving them for me😀). Bill taught us how to manage the steps and steep descents, we even had to do a little bush wracking to get around a fallen tree on the path. I felt safe the entire time and had an adventure of a lifetime! 100% recommend Swift Creek Outfitters!!!

We had a wonderful experience riding with Swift Creek! Our guide, Matt, made the ride very enjoyable and always made sure we were okay and having fun. Bingo, Dandy and Lt. Dan were fabulous horses! We are already looking forward to coming back next year and riding again.

This was a fun ride. I wouldn't recommend the 3 hour unless you really have the experience only because you will really feel it when you're done. The trail was neat with varied terrain that made it fun to ride on. The guides were knowledgeable and skilled. We had a great time!

We went on the two hour beginner ride package. Approximately $85+ per person. It was our first time horseback riding, so definitely no experts here. I was lucky to get Miss Valentine who was very good. Whenever I just say “Let’s Go Girl”, she will automatically follow the horse in front. But some of my friend’s horses were very naughty and uncontrollable, so the experience was not as fun for them.
PSA there will be a lot of mosquitoes. Got bites that itched for days.

We arrived with nine gals with various levels of experience looking to do a 2hr trail ride at 10am on a Friday morning. The staff was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating - I knew nothing about the company prior to coming out to Wyoming, and they lived up to their great reviews. We were on horses and on our way within 30 minutes of arrival (which is great for a large group) and our guide was both helpful and explanatory. Can’t say enough good things. The views were gorgeous and this was by far a trip highlight for everyone!
Nestled in the mountains of Jackson, Wyoming lies Granite Hot Springs, a popular attraction for those seeking relaxation and outdoor adventure. The campsite boasts two pools filled with warm spring water rich in minerals, one natural and one man-made. Visitors can enjoy hiking in the nearby Gros Ventre Mountains or fishing in Granite Creek. A short drive away is the picturesque Grand Teton National Park.
This was pretty amazing to swim in the Hot Springs. It's a long 10 mile drive on gravel road deep into the mountains, but the drive itself was absolutely beautiful! The river and mountains are breathtaking and there is a beautiful waterfall that is a must see just before you get to the end of the road at the Hot Springs. Cost was very reasonable and very much worth the drive and I would highly recommend for anyone going through Jackson Hole in the Teton Mountains.

This place has been a destination for many years with my family. My parents, brother and sisters family were here in all seasons. This was my first time and it was Spectacular! The beautiful scenery never gets old. The water was perfect temperature and felt great!

8$ per adult entrance, bring flipflops and a towel or/a robe.
Very nice spot, there are futting rooms where you can change into your swiming suit, floor is very wet and cold that is why I recommend flipflops.

Nice warm water. It got fairly busy while we were there.
They don't have a sign for nudity, but the guy did tell me to put my top on. 🤣
A short walk from the parking lot. Handicapped parking is available closet to the pool.

This is a great place to 'soak' your muscles after a hard hike! There is a changing area upstairs. **Beware, the road is not paved at all; very rocky/large gravel, so if you don't have a 4WD vehicle, expect a long drive ... it took us 45 minutes to drive 10 miles!**

Beautiful mountain drive. The hot springs it self is older and rugged, it has bathroom and changing room. We found a snake in the rocks. Beautiful hiking area.

I loved this experience so much!!! The road was really bumpy and dusty. Make sure you bring cash to pay!!! I would suggest going in the morning or sometime in October when the outside temperatures are cooler. Such a nice and relaxing way to spend my Saturday enjoying the outdoors!

Bring cash! $12 per adult in cash. Great hot springs. Very quiet. Not busy at all. Beautiful.

A perfect little gem! The road was rough, but manageable. Very inexpensive for a days worth of fun! The gentleman who works there, is extremely pleasant and nice. I appreciate that he would answer all of my questions! I would recommend showing up at 10 am when they open, so that you aren't in the heat of the day. Bring a picnic and enjoy!!

Beautiful place. Very warm for daytime swimming in summer. The water is just under 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Otherwise, this place is just awesome.
