I don't think Google maps existed the last time I visited for a show in 2002. So, glad this place is still around and still putting on amazing shows. Such a fun and enjoyable time, can't believe I've stayed away so long. My loss. The Sherlock Holmes show was a blast. About twenty different characters all played by 5 players. And even better than that, it was eighteen characters played by 3 players. The theater is fantastic with amazing air conditioning. A great venue for a fun show any time.

Absolutely the best place for date nights, girls groups and a fun night. Been to 3+ shows so far this summer and every one is an awesome experience. The charm, the exceptional talent and shows are an absolute must!

Never been here. Drove by many times. Long old barn. With a bar" saloon". There's a high price pizza place on site and another bar also.

It’s become a Christmas tradition over the past few years to attend the Shed and it’s Christmas Cabaret. Great young talent, a cozy setting and Christmas classics rounds out our holiday season. Someday we’ll have to make the trek from Vicksburg for a summer production.

What an experience I’ve had at the barn theater. It was my very first time being here after hearing about it for years and years. I finally had the chance to go and see The Wizard Of Oz and let me just tell you it was just phenomenal. So much talent and work put into their shows. I also lost my wallet, but they were so kind to call me back and tell me they found it after me worrying about it for the longest time. I can’t wait to be back and not loose my wallet next time of course😉 thanks for a good show!

First live theater I've been to and it was absolutely wonderful. I'll remember 9to5 for many years to come and they have truly captured my heart with their performance. They have also made certain that I will be going to live shows for the foreseeable future. The property boast a outdoor concession booth, a bar, and an after performance cabaret of sorts for dinning and the actors to play around at. I didn't reserve a table early enough but next time for sure. The actors were exquisite, the scenes were well built and orchestrated, and the owner is top notch. It's a family owned production and has been the start of a few well known stars but I'm sure more to come.
One memorable moment was when I had an "Oh No" moment and they gave the audience a minute to appreciate my innocent remark. They made us feel apart of the play, too fun.

Had an amazing time! Great actors and atmosphere. I thoroughly ènjoyed my night! Also check out the rehearsal bar next to barn, the pizza is so dang good

Such an amazing Theatre! Everyone is so nice. The shows are the best!

Great place, the play was fantastic, they have a nice bar next to it in whe actor perform skits after the main play, you might enjoy the skits while you have a drink or dinner and a few drinks, Wednesday's they have a barbecue that is really good. The mosquitoes were vicious, they need to do something about it. However, we enjoyed ourseves.

I've been coming to the Barn Theater with my aunt since I was young. Now, I attend with cousins when I'm in town. It am always impressed with the professionalism of the plays and the down-home personal treatment of this troupe. On the rare occasion that a big name star comes to perform at the Barn, that adds to the excitement of the evening.
Thank you one and all for an enjoyable evening.

We attend 4 to 5 of the shows each season. These young actors are really good and the bar show after the main show really showcases their singing talent. Spectacular! When I heard about the Barn Theater, I attended a show, not expecting it to be great. I was wrong. The actors/entertainers make the experience fabulous. If you enjoy the arts, stop in. You'll be hooked.
433-acre zoo features 600+ specimens with a tram between exhibits & an opportunity to feed giraffes.
Went on the second to last day of the season, loved it, the animals look like they're well taken care of, loved the zebra tram, the African section of the zoo, there were some peacocks walking around the zoo. Loved that you can see the bears, lions and other animals up close. Very clean and great employees, I just wished we had gone earlier in the season, will definitely be back in summer 😀

Awesome zoo experience for all ages. Brought a 2 and 8 year old on a Friday morning and it took us nearly 4 hours to get through everything! The animals here are far superior to those at our local zoo and the kids were impressed! We all enjoyed feeding the giraffes the most because it was such a close up encounter we've never got anywhere before. We took the bus to "africa" but walked the majority of the open paths, approximately 4.5 miles according to our app. The new adventure park is currently being built but that looks like it'll be a riot!
Went as a kid, loved it. Brought my kids, better this time around.
Beth Sev — Google review
Well managed small but very exotic animal exhibits. Especially great to see all the animals in their natural environment, especially in the African plains. Very well placed paths to see multiple angles of the animals. Large reptile, amphibian house with a beautiful elephant statute.
Liz Davis — Google review
This is a really underrated zoo. My family loves to go to different zoos and for the mid-sizes zoos we have been to, this was one of the better ones in my opinion. The views in the lower savannah area with the zebra, giraffes, ostrich is one of the coolest views I have seen. The zoo is very spacious, so if you are up for some exercise, make the walk, I did but the rest of my family took the trolley. The walk is definitely not easy. Also the Zebra feeding area is too high so the kids had to feed the giraffe through the fence. Definitely would consider making the trip up to this zoo again in the future.
Nathan Choler — Google review
This zoo has been a valuable resource for teaching about the need for conservation and for educating the public. The animals appear to be well kept, but you always wish the zoo had more funding so the animals had more space. Of course if they had too much space you wouldn't see them! The zoo has a couple little restaurant options for snacks and adult beverages if you're so inclined. And for the kids there's a train ride that lasts about 15 minutes and for everyone there is a tram ride up to the wild Africa exhibit, Don't miss the wild Africa exhibit and the opportunity to feed the giraffes! They're so beautiful it makes you wonder how anybody could shoot them just for a photo opportunity.
Patricia — Google review
This zoo had a really cool set up for most of their exhibits. My only complaint was that you had to walk through an area and then all the way back through it again to get to another area. It wasn’t all connected. However you take a tram to Africa and get to do a large walk through there. There were several animals and it’s a .8 mile walk to do the entire walk through. They have lions though and they’re beautiful! Most of the zoo has really nice shaded areas too! There’s a Jurassic zoo area that has replicas of Dino’s. No outside food, but there are two restaurants.
Amber — Google review
Had not been here in years. Much larger zoo than the one in Grand Rapids. Nicely shaded with trees throughout so it's not super hot even on days where the sun is shining down. Many exhibits to see and very kid friendly. They have a tram and a train to take you to certain parts of the zoo while others are within walking distance. Definitely a must see and fun for little ones as they have goat feeding and petting along with giraffe feeding at a small additional cost. Recommend looking for coupons or deals online before making your trip as they sometimes have discounts.
Greg — Google review
Great place to spend a day the animals were active my kids loved it and is mostly handicap accessible we have someone with a wheelchair and we went through the entire zoo we had a little trouble in the Africa part but were warned well. Getting in was quick even on a busy day feeding the giraffes was an awesome experience for my kids we all had a fantastic trip.
Jamie Whittaker — Google review
Small zoo with beautiful African section, all set in a heavily wooded area giving this zoo a cozy atmosphere. We used our Detroit Zoo membership to get 50% off, at $7 for adults and $3 for kids, this is a steal. Animals appeared content (no pacing, over grooming, etc.), enclosures were clean, appeared to have plenty of room to move about, especially for African animals.
Food quality at dining spaces is very poor and overpriced. My salad was wilted/decaying, the sauteed vegetables were frozen, our grilled chicken sandwich was hard as a rock and dried out, buns were stale. Stick to the hot dogs or burgers. Kids meal came with a full size pop. Macaroni had a weird fishy aroma and flavor.
Bathrooms were mostly clean. Staff was not masked indoors or out.
Bethany Westrick — Google review
Beautiful strolling paths are populated by some of the largest habitats I have ever seen. Unlike many large commercial zoos this one focuses on the animals well being and the preservation of the natural landscape of Southern Michigan. It checks the boxes on most of the animals you expect to see with some gems of animals I have yet to see in even the most famous zoos. This is not the kind of zoo with a new animal every 15 feet so prepare for the breathtaking walk along boardwalks and forest trails. With added attractions like Zoorasic Park for kids this is a must for families that want to see a zoo like no other!

Always love walking around here. Staff is friendly and it is usually clean. The annual pass is worth it.
Baby Zin (Chinese red panda) is the cutest!
Also some photos of our visit and love the fall decor out.

The zoo is a great walk through the woods while looking at the animals. Make sure to go early in day so animals are out, otherwise it will feel like you didn't see many. The savannah area is pretty and the giraffe feed is a must. Great zoo for all ages, just be prepared to walk.
We had a blast here. We had a group of all ages from baby to seniors and all had fun.
Ashley Gutowski — Google review
I love this zoo. The layout is great. If you follow the path, you'll see everything. The tram was nice and not a super long wait. They have a beer cart that was perfect since it was scorching while we were there. They have a pretty decent array of animals. We had a great time!
Heather Lange — Google review
A good selection of animals & other fun activities for kids. Wear closed toe shoes & Spare 4-5 hours.
Nominal entrance fee but other activities are charged extra so you could end up paying around $50.
Try to take the free tram to the African side or else its a 10 minute uphill walk.
Train ride is fun for kids but costs $3 per person.
Sky Lark & Little Lark are fun obstacle courses for adults & kids. They are also charged extra but the ziplines are excellent.
Viewing area is large but many animals are visible. Giraffe feeding is nice, you can even pat the giraffe.
There is a small reptile section & a dinosaur section. And finally a small North American section.
Many washrooms available with variable levels of cleanliness. And many places available for sit & eat.
Overall, a good day spend.

My daughter and I took the 4 kids to the zoo, and it was fun for everyone! The youngest was 3 and the oldest a teen, but no one complained! We took the tram to Africa and my favorite was feeding the giraffes, I always love that! It was even fun feeding the goats, the kids got such a kick out of it! Bring quarters for the goat food. We went at 9:30 and didn't leave until 1:30. There is a lot to do and see, don't rush!

This zoo is a great place to visit. It was my first time going. My family had a great time.
There is plenty of parking & lots of attractions. The zoo is very spacious, open, & within natural surroundings. It's also a great place to exercise as well. Lots of exhibits and activities for the entire family.
I highly recommend it.

This is a fantastic zoo! We went today with a group ranging from age 7 to 77. We all had a great time! The kids loved feeding the giraffes and riding the free safari truck to see the African animals. We spent 5 hours there! Lots for everyone to see and do.
Mama B — Google review
My 2 year old is fond of animals and it was a great way to learn the animals by looking at them especially the African part of the zoo. The tram is so convenient and the trail in the zoo is also within the woods which makes you feel that you are part of the jungle and safe. The show stopper, the king himself is an awe to watch.
Music concerts & classic plays staged in a restored 1882 opera house with ornate architecture.
This venue never ceases to amaze. Beautifully kept up and staffed. Such a charming edition to the tri-state area. Always wonderful shows, whether local or big time acts. Can't go wrong if you choose to attend.

Local schools can perform, as well as others throughout the community. This is a historic building that has been a place where you can come to see an assortment of talented individuals perform.

Loved the atmosphere but at the same time it was horrible to have to set through the entire first act without the opportunity to get a bottle of water to drink, the online inquiry I did said that the bar would be open a half hour before showtime but it wasn't, it was seriously enough to make me not want to come back so I hope they see this review and make a change, other than that HUGE disappointment the place was AMAZING, I realize this post kinda contradicts itself but im just being honest, you aren't allowed any food or drink from outside so if you are like me and can't go an hour and a half without a water then you might have to smuggle one in movie theater style 🤣 with bottled water it gets 5 stars 😎

The restroom is in the basement so be aware of that if you sit in the balcony. It's a nice place and seats are decent. We watched a great high school production but they also do professional performances there as well.
FireKeepers Casino Hotel offers a modern and luxurious space for classic table games and slots, located within a resort-style hotel with various restaurants and bars. The hotel provides beautiful standard rooms with top-notch amenities, including a stunning two-level pool with small fountains. Guests can enjoy the gorgeous casino and indulge in fantastic dining experiences at upscale restaurants like Smoke N Fire, where they offer an innovative tablet menu.
We were there on a Saturday afternoon and evening. FireKeepers has so many slot machines it was never an issue getting on one to be able to play. A lot of different varieties of machines. Something for everyone. Only played slots, so I can only comment on those. Lots of fun!

It was a great experience! We received an email for a free night stay in a king room.
My husband called to set up the reservation and verify the validity of the email.
Our check-in at the hotel went smoothly. Everyone at the front desk was so friendly. Whenever we encountered an employee whether walking in the hotel or casino, we were greeted with a smile and hello!
We spent 4 hours on the casino floor. We won some and lost some…lol! Then we grabbed a bite at Davy’s Sportsbook. My street tacos were delicious.
Our room was perfect! The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and quiet. I loved the shower and the set up of the bathroom.
It was a good night!

First time taking a bus trip with the Furniture City Ladies Auxiliary Post 258 to the fire keepers casino! What a blast! Ate at the 24/7 restaurant and had great service and food! Anita checked us in and hooked us up with our red hot rewards card and showed us how to get even more bonus credit/money!
Total blast! Our small group of four did our own thing and two of us braver players came home with big winnings!🥳🤪😳🎰

Well it's a casino and it's very clean let's get down to the very important part. The food. Eat at the smoke and fire restaurant. It's very upscale they have tablets for menus. I got the rack of ribs with two sides mac and cheese and spicy coleslaw. Everything was good The coleslaw could be a little more spicy but was still delicious. The wife got the pick two with the spicy jalapeno sausage and the pulled pork. She enjoyed both of them she also got a Carolina beans and sweet potato pan bread and the corn cake. All of them were very good.

The hotel itself is BEAUTIFUL - We stayed in a standard room with 2 beds, and it felt like we were VIPs. The amenities were awesome also. The pool is 2 levels and has small fountains that spray a small stream of water (one on each side). We played some at the casino (which is gorgeous). We tried most of the restaurants, and the food was fantastic. We were usually given so much that we couldn't eat it all. We REALLY enjoyed our stay. The next time we visit, we would like to stay in one of the suites (they have fireplaces).

Came up for a romantic getaway and had a great experience. We love roulette and was a little disappointed that only two tables were open but the wait wasn't long at all. The room was great, including the view. The Staff was friendly, from check-in to the security staff. The location is right off the highway which is convenient.

Hotel was fantastic. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pool was beautiful.
Gaming was horrible. 1st and last time in this casino. We spent 2 days and it was the worst gambling I have ever done. Someone called it Money Keepers. I now understand.

We were having a girls trip to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. The front desk manager Kimberly was so kind and ensured that we had a fantastic time. We stayed in the Aqua Fire suite and had an adjoining room to a double queen. We had a rollaway bed in the suite brought up as well as a birthday treat (6 jumbo chocolate chip cookies half covered in a coat of hardened chocolate) which were absolutely delicious! The rooms and the hotel were clean and beautiful. The TVs were a good size and the beds were comfortable. Each room had a tablet to control the TV. The suite had a full bath with a corner tub in the seperate master bedroom and a half bath by the kitchenette area. The vapor fireplace was a neat feature! It really enhanced the room vibe. The mini fridge in the double queen was extremely tiny and didn't fit much. The mini fridge in the suite was a little bit bigger which was nice. The down side was that they were both on the ground so you had to squat down to get anything/put anything in there. All the restaurants were delicious. The casino wasn't the cleanest. The machines were not whipped down regularly and there were dozens and dozens of cups laying around the machines/floors that guests just left there. Out of 4 friends, 3 lost their $200 personal spending limit and I won about $200 after my spending limit. The decor was super cute and the parking was not very crowded and felt safe. The hot red rewards had a couple perks, a free $10 credit for signing up and a chance to spin after reaching 100 points. My group each won another $5 credit with their spins. The red hot rewards were explained quickly when signing up so it can be confusing. You can only cash out your points once you reach a $5 threshold and I believe it was 100 points = $1. My group played for several hours on two different days and we only earned between 200 and 300 points each. The only issue we experienced during our stay was I had asked if we could have a late check-out the next day during check-in. The front desk clerk said to just let the person who calls in the morning that we request check-out at 12pm vs the normal 11am (which is the latest time for a late check-out). I never received a call in the morning so I called the front desk a little after 11am who said that they were not offering late check-out and needed to check-out asap since it was already past 11am so we had to scramble to get everything together. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, but was not cheap so just be prepared to spend, spend, spend lol!

Huge amount of slot machines to choose from! Several places to get food and drinks. All your table games too. I have been to several casinos in Michigan and this one is pretty big. I prefer Detroit area for the walking distance to dining but there are several places only a short drive away! 💚💯💯

I have fun in the casino, but I REALY LOVE the live shows! They almost always have $10 roulette tables 🤩
This is a GREAT place to see live performances! It’s a relatively small venue, so you really get the up close and personal experience!
I HIGHLY recommend checking out any live show at Firekeepers!
Also, if you have a higher tier players card, the casino host can get you free tickets.

Loved this place till today. I saw on the kiosk i was invited to join the jackpot party, i had 1 entry the night before. Then on the day of, my entry just disappeared. The host/supervisor just say everyone can see it, but it is not the case. My bf cant see the invite, but i can. They said my jackpot party would have been in december, but i never gotten an email, like they said i should have with this one. I won 2 jackpots. Where are my 2 invites then? Take pics of your entries, these people will lie to you and false advertise. You can see i was invited. My entry just randomly poofed. Way to ruin an experience.....

We always love.coming here. It's a great time for the entire family... kids and adults will enjoy this, and we recommend taking the self guided tour to see the barn out back where the cows are milked. The gift shop has a lot of nice things too. The ice cream and milk are worth coming for also.

I haven't been to your dairy, but a few neighbors had milk cows when I was a kid in Iowa. One neighbor was always bringing milk over in a huge gallon sized mason type jar. As a kid, I thought the yellowish white stuff on top was gross. Little did I know it was the best part.
Mom cut up some fresh peaches one time and served them with the cream. Heavenly!
I had a pint of your premium ice cream, Tasha's Tornado. Very good.
Bought it at NuVu fuel.

Ice cream was great and the goats and sheep were fun to pet and feed! Saw a lot of happy cows on the self guided tour too. Also, their cheese curds squeak because they are so fresh! We bought some chocolate milk while we were there too that was also delicious and creamy.

This is a great place to walk through the dairy and see the cows. There's plenty of places for the kids to play outside and wonderful playground equipment to play on. And there's the mooville store out front that you can get your ice cream souvenirs and many many dairy products from. My favorite is the coffee ice cream!

Mountain Moo doesn’t taste like Mountain Dew to me. Lemon Poppy-Seed Cake tastes authentic and very cake-like. Unicorn Poo is probably the best tasting for an indecisive kid. Black Cherry is an excellent choice when you want a nice blend of sweetness to chocolate ratio. “Pieces of Heaven” didn’t actually taste very good. Tasha’s Tornado has strong peanut butter flavor with just the right amount of chocolate chucks similar to Turtle ice cream topping from a squeeze bottle. Cow Trails is chocolate to the extreme with a hint of vanilla and tastes like it has dozens of tiny peanut butter cups in every bite.

This establishment provides an insiders look of how milk is produced. The self tour allowed you to visit the farm, see the large barn where the dairy cows live, and produce milk through the modern red robot. Being a city dweller, you get a first-hand experience to farm living. There is a store where you can buy lunch, eat ice cream, and buy farm produced merchandise. It has a child playground with animal pens where you can get a closer look at various farm animals.
My friend and I enjoyed this visit and you will too.

First visit to Moo-ville, very nice place, cozy seating area inside. Plenty of ice cream varieties hard and soft. There was a full menu of goodies from shakes to cones to specialty stuff. Sizes are large. My small treat was pretty large. There is a self guided tour of the facility, but my group didn't participate in that. Just the ice cream 😜 We will return.

Friendly staff, too! Thanks for offering this neat opportunity!

Such an amazing place! It is worth the drive to get to this out of the way destination. Plan to pay the $3 for a self guided tour and see how automation and gravity (yes, gravity) help the process to make MOOville the #1 (2021) Chocolate and #1 (2022) Vanilla ice cream in the NATION!! And the 'petting zoo' is an extra bonus for your little ones.

Ionia State Recreation Area has a nice, 3.65 mile easy to moderate hike around Sessions Lake. Make sure you follow the directions to the south side of the park to most easily find the trail. The trail is well marked overall. A little confusing in places where the trail intersects the disc golf course. The trail is not wheelchair accessible in several places, although on the north side of the lake, it is flat and either grassy or paved. On parts of the south side of the lake, a few areas have elevation changes of about 20 feet. Trails are well worn and maintained. We did step over a large downed branch. The one vault toilet used had no paper. The park map on the DNR website does not include much trail details, but you can pick up a map at the honor system payment shack or see the photo below. Photos include examples of trail markers and bridges. While we came Memorial Day weekend, this is a nice place all year.

Pretty area, pretty lake. Here after school has been back on session do it's been quiet. Swimming area not the best, lots of green water... ew. The beach itself is nice. Lots of geese and seagulls.

This is a big state park with some historical buildings. We came to get the state park centennial geocache, so we saw an old school house, and another historical building across the road. There is a big area for horse riding. There is also a beach area and a boat launch.

Probably one of my favorite areas for astro photography. I wish the lot off Riverside Drive a dark sky park. I'll keep going despite the rules saying the park is closed.

Beautiful campground. Our site was shaded and secluded. People staying in the campground were nice (host seemed a little grumpy, maybe she's not a waver...)
When they say the length of the site, it doesn't mean they're accurate (we had a 50' site for our 43' fifth wheel and we were at the edge of the road with our nose). Tight sites to get in (couldn't have done it if the neighbors hadn't moved) and the tree branches were overgrown and rubbed all over the sides and roof).
The showers were funky. Like stinky hard water (everything is stained rust colored and the shower head was almost eaten through). The lights in the shower are on sensors that WILL cut off and not cut back on, no matter how naked you are 😆. We opted for no more showers after that- I'll find a truck stop, thank you!
Minus the incorrect site length, overgrown trees and terrible shower, it was a nice, quiet park. Great place to walk the dog and let the kids ride around.
Great place for apple picking. You can also find some cool pumpkins, there’s a corn maze, some recreational activities for kids and a small farmer’s market where you can have some pumpkin donuts and hot cider. Highly recommended, great family friendly environment.

Went out picking with my Husband today. First time here so we really didn't know what to do. First you need to get a green bag for picking. Then you need to get your hiking boots on because the apples we wanted were the last row (Ida Reds) . Their were a ton of apples on the top branches. But of course no ladder. So my Husband found one a few rows up and brought it to me. Then I was in my glory ! Picked one bag then went inside and had the best donuts and coffee. Left buying a bag of utility apples for $11.99. They are great for sauce.
But we had a good time!! We are both in our 60's so it was good exercise and beautiful weather !!

Great orchard! Even though I'm tech savvy and can navigate their online map - I would still like to see more signs marking the Apple varieties.
Still, love this place. It's our second year visiting and will become our go-to orchard every fall. (I enjoyed stopping in their market in the off season when I would be in the area.)

What a wonderful farm to visit. My family and I enjoyed picking the blueberries which were so plump and juicy. It was fun taking photos and picking sunflowers. We ended our visit with an apple cider slushy and fresh blueberry donut. Yummy! Everyone was so courteous and truly made our experience a great one. We will be back.

Lots of apples and beautiful sunflowers!
We went back this year again and there are so many apples: U-pick price is $15 for half brush bag (~20 lbs). We were just in time for Honeycrips, Empire, Golden Delicious, Mac, organic Liberty, organic Jonthan. We passed by so many different sunflowers that we cannot help taking lots of photos! They were much brighter, beautiful, wider varity than what we saw in Uncle John's Cider Mill last week! Definitely worthwhile to plan another trip to pick the sunflowers next time.

10 stars! Beautiful very large indoor store with generous selection of expected orchard and beyond favorites. Our 1st but definitely not last visit. Cider, donuts, flowers, and pies! Large corn maze and UPICK area for apples and sunflowers. Yummy tart cider slushies. Free to park and wander. Apple packing and additional carmel apple making viewing stations were unexpected favorites for my 8yo. Festive photo spaces throughout and ample covered seating with tables available to relax and enjoy the snacks. Nice playscape and bumpy hill slide. Tractor / ride with plentiful seating for tour of grounds. No animals. All staff were very friendly. Lots of handicapped parking on paved lot near entrance.

Took a road trip to Michigan and found this gem. The farm experience was amazing. The staff were so friendly and outgoing. The fresh doughnuts were the bomb. I was assisted by Crimmson, Denise, Kim, Steve J, and a few others that I didn't get to note their names. They helped me spend my money. ;-) This stop was definitely a highlight of my trip. I picked up doughnuts, 3 bottles of wine as gifts, apple butter, 4 bottles of Apple Cider Vinegar, Cool coffee cups, a cider slushy, and of course a bunch of apples. Thank you for a memorable experience and I will be back on the next trip.

Cute place but needs better labeling of apples for picking. They give you a sheet that's supposed to help but I could not find signs for any of the apples that were supposed to be ready for picking. Apple cannon, pumpkin slinging and train ride were fun.

On our way back, we stopped at the Orchard Barn and ordered a dozen donuts (which were delicious) and a gallon of cider. Sherlina was our cashier, and she was super friendly and got our donuts out super quick. It was overall an amazing experience. Thanks Sherlina! I also loved the scenery at the pond.

Attended a fruit tree pruning workshop with the owner. He is very knowledgeable on the subject and was willing to stay late answering specific questions. The information was great. I only wish I had attended the workshop sooner. Will definitely be returning with the family to visit the orchard during harvest season.

Lots of fun things to do here. . . From you pick peaches, apples, or blueberries to shopping to baked goods or classes thru Eaton Co Conservation District. The class on fruit tree pruning was very informative. I loved that it wasn't just classroom lecture but included a walk thru the orchard to see first hand what was being taught. Can't wait to put my new found knowledge to work!

When someone hears The country mill they think donuts, cider, apples, pumpkins, wedding venue, which they have all of the above and are wonderful but my husband and I think POPCORN! They have THE BEST small young tender white popping corn that we have ever had and we used to buy fresh popping corn every time we traveled to find the best! They are also extremely accommodating and caring! The season doesn’t start for a few more months and they went out of their way to remember us and that we had reached out for more corn last year and texted us to let us know they had some in stock now and then allowed us to come today and purchase it! We LOVE The country mill for so many reasons including the popcorn but the care and kindness that Steve and Bridget share with our community is one of a kind! Thank you!

Thanks Steve for such a an informative pruning workshop. I've been a patron of the Country Mill since I was a kid and have carried the tradition on with my own children. Thank you for offering a wide variety of engaging experiences. We always enjoy our visits, young and old.
Tons of fun! Very clever placement of clues, we didn’t actually finish but we were about 60 seconds away from escaping when the time ran out. It felt like they put a lot of time and effort into the room (we did the nuclear bunker, our other group did the Harry Potter room). Will be back as soon as I can to try out the Pharaoh room and the Harry Potter room.

Phenomenal experience with friends! I've done two of their rooms now, and both were packed with unique clues and puzzles, fun props, and just the right level of head-scratching. The whole operation runs smoothly and the staff are friendly and helpful. Can't recommend them highly enough!

I'm from out of town and this little place was fun. The puzzles were challenging and there were enough to keep everyone in our group of 9 busy. I was presently surprised in how large the room felt. We felt excited after every solving and the theme of the room was very strong. I would recommend this fun place for an evening or two.

It cost us 19 bucks for admission (3 adults and one senior) and the snacks were an okay price. but the Cascades are what you would expect it to be. Water falling with lights. The staff was friendly and the light show at 9:30 was cool. The only thing I could complain about is around 8 all these random people in workout gear started to gather around and then proceeded to do an hour long Zumba class while blasting pitbull. Other than that it was fun.

Very pretty. Attended a wedding here, it was very beautiful. Chairs will be hot if it’s summer time and sunny so bring a towel to sit on. The water park attached to the area was corded off so we didn’t have random people walking around the ceremony. The parks attached are very pretty as well. All in all very clean organized place to go. Being from Texas this place was a very nice change.

Was really cool to go in the on-site museum. Which I feel they should tell people about it at the admission counter. We learned a lot about the falls and how old they are. You can see(up close) she needs a little help. And hopefully the people of Jackson can help to keep the falls alive, as it is amazing to see. We are from out of town, but would go see it again when in the area.

Wonderful place to bring the kids or for a nice date. Beautiful multi-colored Falls and fountains.
Update – June 2022. The music continues to be great and it's a wonderful setting. However, it is evident that some repairs will be needed on parts of the falls. In addition, the lighting on some of the steps is not bright. One must exercise some caution when walking up or down the many steps.

Probably the only thing to do in Jackson thats not terribly boring. More of a family thing but also fun to just go and hangout and watch the light show. Its pretty cheap, I believe its 5$ and on their firework night it is 7$. Their firework show is always great!! They do have a concession stand inside but on firework night there are always food trucks. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you have. They did just add in a splash pad so if you have kids they will love it.
Self-guided exhibits about local prison history in a former cell block on active prison grounds.
Steve is an excellent tour guide with numerous true stories to share. You will tour two prisons (the first 2 large complexes built after the original wood bldg in the early 1800s) & must drive to the 2nd one so plan on half a day - am or pm. $40 pp with no discounts. You can only take photos at the first prison. Both prisons are worth seeing. Much history. There is time to shop at their small gift store & use restroom between tours. If you buy postcards like me (who collects & mails many) look at them on the back before purchase. I bought 10 and half had numbers written all over the back so I couldn't write on them & mail. They're $2 each, which is pricey for a postcard too.

Used a Groupon to get a great price. $22 for 4 of us. The 8 and 9 year old were spooked on entry because you can see actual prisoners walking the yard across the street and I myself was unsure if the other connected cell blocks had prisoners. The kids fearfully entered. All 3 kids enjoyed it , the other kid is 12, as did I. It is self guided with scavenger hunts for different age groups including adults. You can make it a 30 minute tour or a 1.5 hr tour depending on how much you want to read. The cells and prison hall appear to be as they were 10 yrs ago when this block closed. We spent 1.5 hrs and then enjoyed Culvers

Very informative and self-paced. We're a family of four with two children, ages 8 & 10, and we all enjoyed our visit...we spent about two hours touring. The only "scare" for our children was seeing the inmates enjoying time outside when we pulled into the parking lot. Aside from that, we like this museum and would recommend it.

The Michigan History Center is a venue that offers various exhibits, artifacts, and educational programs that showcase the state's rich history. It consists of five levels and provides both permanent and special interactive displays. Although there are some interactive activities for children, visitors may expect more. Nonetheless, the center offers an excellent opportunity to learn about Michigan's history and is recommended for all ages between 5-99 years old. Sundays are particularly favorable as admission is free.
Sundays are best day to visit because it’s free. Highly recommend if you want to see history of state of Michigan. This is great for ages 5-99.

From the retreat of the glaciers at the last ice age to the present day, this museum takes us through the entire history of Michigan. There are so many exhibits and so much to learn. We spent two hours there and probably could have spent another two because there is so much to see. Highly recommend visiting if you have an interest in history or Michigan in general. So many things to learn about with our state's history! I remember coming here in fourth grade with my class and I'm so glad I got to share this with my kids. We went on a Saturday morning just after they opened and there was nobody else there! We had the whole museum to ourselves! I like that you can walk through the decades and see what it was like to live in our state in each decade. There is alot of interesting information and there are even things that kids can touch and interact with. There is a large tree in the center of the building and on the opposite side of the museum is the state library. We got to check that out for a little bit. There is a small kids section in the back. This library is good for looking up records.

Did you know that in Michigan the Polio Vaccine had trials leaded by Jonás Salk? Or that Jiffy the famous mixture of pancakes and baking good was founded in Michigan? Well… all of these and more you’ll learn in this History Center museum which is shared with the Michigan Library.
I was gladly impressed during my visit. This museum is organized in a way you enjoy and understand the journey. It is 3 storey and each one is pretty ample. My favourites areas were the “Mining in Michigan”, “The Prototyping Parlour and the recently added “Hazel’s creation” right at the entrance.
Sundays are free and parking is plenty and free as well.
To go over the whole 3 floors and if you go at slow pace as myself :) allocate at minimum 2 hours. You can go with seniors as there is plenty of seatings and also with children.

The Michigan State Capitol is a National Historic Landmark with a prominent cast-iron dome roof. Visitors can take tours to learn about the state's history and government. The capital building was once located in Detroit during the War of 1812, when Michigan was on the border with an enemy. It provides an opportunity to gain knowledge about the state's past and present as visitors move around the building.
This was my first self guided tour of the capital and it was amazing. The first steps into the building and I was taking pictures. Everything that you see is worthy of a photograph. The dome is something that everyone needs to lay down and enjoy. In fact plan ahead and wear a coat so you feel free to lay down. Make sure that your adventures take you through the gallery looking down at all the history. Even the tile floor and door hinges are pieces of art. Plan on spending at least an hour walking around at a steady pace to see everything. On my second trip I will spend more time looking at the paintings of all the former governor's. I was so overwhelmed by the beauty of building that they artwork was secondary. Just touching the handrails and imagining all the past history is awe-inspiring. If you are new to the area or have lived here your whole life spend some time on yourself and enjoy our state capital.

After visiting Wisconsin's capital building, as well as Ohio's, decided I needed to drive up and check out Michigan. The building is very impressive. I just took a self guided tour as I didn't have aot of time to work with. The gave me a nice booklet that explained everything. It took me about 45 minutes to stroll the building. Such magnificent architecture. Surprised the place wasn't more busy with people walking around considering it was a Wednesday at 3:00pm.

It was an amazing experience to be at the capital for Citizen Lobby day. The inside of the building is beautiful, full of hand carved details and ornate decorations. There is so much to look at from the floor to the ceilings. Even the bathrooms are gorgeous and all different with their own character. The house floor is the place to be, the views are breathtaking. During a visit to Lansing, the state capital of Michigan, we saw several families with kids walking around the capital building on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Four beautiful churches stand within a block of each other. The cathedral was open and visitors could just walk in, offer a prayer. One has to be careful to stay on the main stretch of-course and be mindful of crime as in all parts of the US. Remember, Michigan is an open carry state when it comes to guns. Gave lower rating because of safety concern.

I love this Capitol's style. Dome isn't as big as some other State Capitols but it is striking, a slender exclamation point to a beautiful building. Surrounded by well-kept grounds with statues and historical points of interest. We were unable to visit the interior but had time to observe a sunset then repeat the next morning in the rain, watching a calm protest. Nice to see free speech in action.
I recommend if you are in Lansing.

Potter Park Zoo houses 500 animals from four different continents, including endangered species. The zoo's on-site eatery and snack bar provide food options for visitors. The zoo provides an intimate experience with the animals and offers them the choice to be seen by the public or to take some alone time. The establishment takes excellent care of all its animals, as they have sweet stories about how they were brought in, some being rehabilitated while others are endangered.
It's a beautiful zoo to see animals with little add-ons. A "quiet area", play and pretend for young children.
There are a lot of signs with information about the individual animals (which is a cool way to get your child to read instead of you reading it to them😉)
The staff is very kind and helpful, the zoo has a park in front of it that is nicely set with trees so that you won't have to sit in the burning sun.
The prices are pretty reasonable considering they are used to manage the zoo and everything it entails.
Currently the Zoo is undergoing construction to make the walk ways better, so while we did not get to see all of the animals on our visit we did receive tickets for free entry for our next visit. (Which is pretty awesome and kind)

The biggest animals are the Rhino and Camels. The pony rides were closed when we went. I loved watching the silver eyed wolf pacing about. The Rhino was quite active but all the big cats were being lazy at mid-day.
I recommend mosquito spray! Not as many kid play areas as other zoos in the state, our kids commented on this as we left.
Overall it's a fun way to spend an hour or 2 in the morning to see more activity. A nice excuse to get some exercise!

Winter rates are low and the crowds are less, so I definitely recommend going during off season if you want a more intimate experience. The animals mostly walked right up to where we were observing from which was really amazing! I’ve loved visiting this zoo since I was a very young child, but I’ve realized more recently that some of the enclosures seem…. Small. Don’t get me wrong, most seem to be a nice size, but it’s difficult to process a tiger or lion living in the space they’re given when they naturally roam much bigger areas. Otherwise I think the animals seemed well cared for and I saw many employees working hard to take care of them!

We LOVE Potter Park Zoo! I went there as a kid for field trips and now bring my kids there. It is plenty big to see a wide variety of animals but small enough that my 3 year old will walk it with no complaints. They have both endangered species as well as local animals such as elk and Bald Eagles.

We had an AMAZING experience. My daughter is in kindergarten, and this was her first field trip. There were 3 other schools there at the same time, but I never once felt crowded or waited in any lines. They have food in the park, a gift shop that's affordable, a tornado machine ($3), and a photo booth ($7 for 4 slips). There was plenty of parking and a huge park attached to the zoo for the kids to burn off more steam. Plenty of shaded benched areas for eating and relaxation. There are plenty of benches throughout the park. The animals are beautiful, though their enclosures are small. I'm sure they're happy and taken care of. $15 adult entry, $5 parking. As for a wristband, if you plan on going out and coming back in.

Awesome local zoo. Now is a great time to visit: not only the zoo has many cute animals, camel rides ($7/person), goat hair brushing... but also lots of interesting and beautiful flowers blooming all over the zoo! A great outdoor experience! Looking forward to be able to do pony rides again.

Super relaxing zoo. All the animals are amazing. The lion had a lot to say as did the bald eagle and most birds. And we were joined by 2 peacocks. Was very enjoyable. Would be back if I lived here. But when I come back to MI I’ll swing by when it’s a bit warmer. Also the cows and goats were having some words lol. Was funny and a good time.

The best zoo I have ever been to ! I have never been to a zoo where you could get so up-close to the animals. You could also tell that all the animals here were well taken care of and shown lots of love. The animals here all had sweet little stories of how/why they were brought in. Some were there to be rehabilitated, and others were there because they're endangered. It was so amazing how the animals were given the option of being out in the open to be seen by everyone & then to also be able to have their alone time. My favorite highlights were the bats & the owls!! I will definitely come back for the butterflies though, because it was closed when I went.

I visited in March - Good: price was low and there were only about a dozen people there. Not as good: a third of the animals were off exhibit. Yet is an great zoo for a city of Lansing's size. I explored the whole thing and it took 2 hours. Animals range from big (rhinos, camels, lion, tiger, cows) to small (snakes, lemurs, penguins). They have a petting area, pony rides, a nature play area, and camel rides. Nearly all is shaded, so in the summer should be good. Nearly all the animals are outside; there are 2 small building for monkeys and reptiles.

Nice zoo, clean, and easy to walk around.
There are currently no wolves; it seems they were transferred to another zoo to keep a sibling company after they lost their companion. Nice zoo keeper talks and fun reptile house. There is a decent playground outside of the park and plenty of bathrooms with changing tables.

I went for one of the 21+ evening Zoo Nights and it was great! Definitely eat beforehand because there isn't a ton of food available but there were lots of drink options and a really fun scavenger hunt information sheet to fill out and get more drink tickets. It made it an adventure and I really enjoyed it, probably more than I have previous years. There was also a baby lemur which was adorable.

As a kid I grew up loving this place and I still do, it's a treat to get to know all the animals and their names, and the employees are the kindest people and take phenomenal care of the animals. They also go all out on decorations for the different seasons, Halloween had so many big spiders and cobwebs and getting closer to the holidays it's lit up with a bunch of beautiful x-mas trees. (If you play pokemon go this is a great place to play it as well)

Potter Park Zoo aka Lansing Zoo
A simple zoo. If you live in Lansing, you should visit this zoo. It's your city zoo. Simple. Lots of parking. Nothing bad to say.
Good way to spend a whole day looking at animals.

Potter Park Zoo is a great local attraction and an easy way too spend quality time with the family. Like many things these days the zoo can get expensive quick. Eat before you get there. My personal favorite attraction are the big cats. Not sure how accurate my assessment is but every time I go when it is a bit chilly the tiger is always enjoying laps around the enclosure. You are a couple feet from him when he passes. It always hits home for me how majestic, life can be when I see him. The zoo could do better with PR letting customers know when there is construction that closes a major piece of the zoo. But besides that if your In The area it’s worth the trip.

Lovely zoo located in Lansing. Animals were lively and active. On the small side at 20 acres but did not lack in animals. Well worth the drive from our area, and it left a lasting impression on us both.
Do recommend, will be back.

Went to an event this month in the evening and it was so much fun. We got to really experience boo at the zoo. The animals were so social we've never had a chance to be that close to the big cats and we've been here so many times. It was really cool! These were taken with like the worst camera too so excuse the quality 😒 anyhow again, as always, it was fun, the staff are always so helpful too at these events and I know we're there after hours so I don't even know if they get paid but everyone is always so kind. I've got a really bad back so people can often see I'm struggling to walk and the zoo staff have been helpful more than once regarding my back. I only wish the scooters cost less or there were a way to get like a waiver I don't know just an idea.

Really nice zoo with a lot of beautiful old architecture that you normally don't see at a zoo. Lots of happy animals and really nice exhibits. It's definitely a smaller zoo as far as zoos go, but bigger than the Saginaw Zoo we normally visit. It's also got lots of room to expand and fill out.
Michigan State University is a prominent research institution located on a large riverfront campus. The university boasts strong programs in medicine, business, and education. Visitors to the area can admire the impressive rotunda inside the capitol building, explore MSU's nearby campus in East Lansing, and grab a meal at the unique Golden Harvest Restaurant. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the well-maintained grounds and ample space for walking or running while taking in nature.
It’s a fun place with a lot unusual things. For instance, I didn’t know I needed an Erlenmeyer flask or beaker until I saw them.

Michigan State University has a beautiful campus. The campus really shines in the summer and fall. The red brick buildings are iconic. Close to a commercial hub with shops and restaurants. The red Cedar River is a gorgeous river that runs through MSU campus. Spartan Stadium is imposing. Many statues and sculptures scattered throughout campus. Parking is a nightmare though.

Definitely the best venue! Wonderful 40th Anniversary concert with Jessica Vosk of the Broadway Hit Wicked! If you haven’t seen a show at Wharton, you’ve got to experience it. Great acoustics. Friendly staff and volunteers. And performances that will leave you awestruck. They also have a great gift shop that will have you rolling! There is even a piano in the passage from the parking ramp to the center that you can feel free to play! Definitely one classy place!

Not much to say. Looks like any other university in the country. I give a plus star cause I like their colors.
But way too many colored haired weirdos, with Palestinian flags and Black Lives Matter signs. Hideous. Deplorable. Ingrates.
This place is magical, and we happened to come on the day before the season closed so it was practically empty! Of course, all of the hard cider varieties were so delicious. We had to try the sampler, and the staff were so friendly in helping us set it up. There are plenty of bottles and cans to take home for friends and family. There's also a very large gift shop where you can purchase non-alcoholic cider for the family. I'm so glad we were able to check it out without the crowds!

Overall, a nice hidden gem of a cider mill.
The donuts and cider were good and moderately priced, and the food trucks were a nice touch.
The pumpkin picking was a great deal. We got 7 decent pumpkins for $40.
The signage overall wasn’t very clear. It doesn’t state where cars can go and where to park for which features of the cider mill.
We got the cider and donuts from the bread shop, and we were disappointed to not be able to purchase cider mill donuts after waiting in that entire line. It would have been a nice touch to know that it was a separate line for those donuts.
It was a bit of a turn off to see they have a Kettle Corn tent with the name Kate’s Kettle Korn. It’s 2022, come on. Let’s be more conscious of the abbreviations we make with truck/tent names.

Great to come back and visit Uncle John's Cider Mill, donuts are still amazing and the cider is still some of the best we've ever had. Kids had a great time with the activities and corn maze. Us adults also tried a flight of hard ciders and they were all excellent. Definitely make the trip out there

This place is epic! We got 7 pumpkins, we hiked through the corn maze (and got totally lost!! Lol), shopped...and the kids bounced their energy out on the jumping pillow! The food is amazing, the ciders delicious...it was just over all a blast. 10/10 would 100% recommend! Also, one warning, it is a LOT of walking.

First time visit, and probably my last. It was a nice atmosphere with a lot of people enjoying themselves. We spent nearly $100 on goodies. We purchased pies, apples, donuts, cider and a few other things. The pies had no flavor ($8 a slice) and the honey crisp apples were a little soft. I get better at the local grocery store. Not impressed.

One of my favorite cider mills. Donuts are delicious, and the cider is some of the best around. I prefer the hot cider to get me into the fall mood. Great variety of apples, and the hayride is something I think everyone could enjoy. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. Last time I visited one of the employees gave me and another passenger on the hayride a free Uncle Johns trucker hat just because. The hard cider is also really good . When we went they had food trucks and live music . There was also a very old apple there on the hayride tour that was just beautiful , one of the oldest apple trees I've ever seen. (Not pictured) they also have a great pumpkin patch. I'd recommend this cider mill to anyone looking for a great well rounded cider mill experience.

This was my First time ever going to this Cider Mill. Just went today on a Saturday, in October, it was super busy! Expect to do a lot of walking and waiting. It was Hard to park and to leave, because you were waiting for people who were walking in the parking lot. We went to check out the giant jumping pillow and buy cider and doughnuts. The parking lot is in the center and all of the activities are around the outside of the large parking lot. Plan to do a LOT of walking, wear your tennis shoes. Doughnuts are $2.19 a piece. Pies $18 plus. I didn’t see where the Apple cider was sold at, so I didn’t get to buy any to try and no employees offered any help, too many customers in the store. Hard to see the signs around so many people walking. Finally seen the signs for the wagon rides, Followed signs to walk to find the wagon and train ride, and then we were walking through the parking lot just like everyone else was.
I didn’t like that you have to walk through the parking lot to get to the different activities. It was fun on the train ride which was only $1 per kid and I liked the wagon ride best, it was $2 each, good prices for those. But the pumpkins were expensive and so was the food, Lots of food trucks to pick from. No animal petting zoo area, unless we just couldn’t find it? The large jumping pillow is super cool! Lots of fun but my kid’s socks got all dirty from the sand surrounding it and I didn’t know to bring extra socks so I ended up having dirty, sandy, wet socks in my pockets and kids with bare foot in their shoes. The play area is small compared to the amount of people who go there, packed full but was free. Could use a bigger play area. My kids didn’t get a chance to swing on the cool large saucer swings either, because they were all full each time we walked by. We won’t be back again on a Saturday near Halloween. We might try going again but on a weekday.

This place is huge with so many activities and fun things to do! Friends and I visited this October. Their frozen cider and donuts are delicious! Waterloo State Recreation Area boasts a variety of outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy camping at one of the many sites available, as well as beaches and picnic areas. The park also offers fishing opportunities in its lakes, and 47 miles of multi-use trails for hiking or biking. Facilities such as bathrooms and shower facilities are clean and well-maintained.
This place, the Portage Lake Campground was an awesome camp spot. Water was available at the bathhouse and I had a 50 amp back-in site with electricity. There is a beach, plenty to do and many campsites to camp in.

We recently camped at site #144, the lot was nice and level. Shady after the morning and dry (we haven’t had a ton of rain lately so I do not know how it would be if it were rainy) bathrooms were clean, shower facility’s were nice. Only one dump station was open so leaving took a little longer that normal but nothing too bad. Kids enjoyed the Sandy swimming area, Gaga pit, playground and fishing at the boat launch. We did not participate in any of the available activities for the weekend but there were some kid activities offered at the host site and in the surrounding areas.

I did a 13 mile hike with 9 friends. This was my first time on this end of the Waterloo-Pinckney Trail.
There are a variety of trails. On this day, we followed mostly the equine trails, which were in pretty good condition. We lucked out in that the weather was great (30°F with a light snow and no wind). There were very few people and horses on the trail, so we pretty much had them to ourselves.

The Recreation Area is undeniably beautiful. However, I'm giving 3 stars for the simple reason that there are little to no signs on the grounds and the signs that are there are very poorly placed. I drove up from Lansing to spend the day in one of the cabins with my family. The adress emailed took me to the Discovery Center. I drove around in circles for around a half an hour trying to find the cabins. I was able to get a map and directions from a nice young lady in the Discovery Center, but unfortunately she gave me incorrect directions. Finally, my father, who had arrived before me, called me and assisted me with directions. However, he also had a hard time finding the cabin at first. Michigan DNR would be wise to invest in better signage.

We camped for 2 nights at the Mill Lake Rustic cabins inside Waterloo State Recreation Area. The area was really natural, lots of trees, dirt roads. You definitely need to make sure that you are prepared. There was a water pump within walking distance of the cabin. There was a vault toilet, which I found was not cleaned, lots of flies and spiderwebs everywhere. I sprayed for bugs, lysol wiped, and swept in there myself to make sure that it was clean enough for my family. The cabin was clean, had lots if screened windows, and the beds were actually pretty comfortable. We brought an air mattress that we ended up not even using. There are lots of electric heaters built in and we stayed warm at night. Plenty of outlets conveniently placed. We brought a mini fridge and were able to power up all our phones (which we did have good service on there), and electronic cookers. The cabin was well lit, with plenty of room to accommodate our family of 6. Mill lake was accessible on foot via a short trail walk. The cabins didn't have a view of the lake though. The Discovery center was a short drive away and the kids loved it. There were no showers at the Mill Lake cabins, you can go to the Sugarloaf campground to shower at a cost of $5 per person. There were lots of trails to walk. If you have a boat there is a boat access for Mill lake. We let the kids fish from the shore. They enjoyed watching the little minnows and butterflies around the marshy shoreline.
I think if we camp at Waterloo again I would like to be near modern bathrooms and a shower, because we have 4 kids. Ii did like the natural wooded area that were at though. It didn't feel like we were too close to lots of other people, or like it was a parking lot. The local DNR was friendly and helpful, and didn't bother us. It was a good experience overall; we will be camping at Waterloo again next year in a different camping area.

We visited the South Fork rustic cabin on a chilly weekend in March. It was lovely and secluded. The wood stove is wonderful and it was very warm during the day but we had to get up multiple times and refill it during the night to stay warm. There was an amazing amount of bird species in the area , and we heard coyotes the first night. Many hiking trails close to the cabin. Quite roomy inside, with a picnic table that was excellent for family games. Be sure to grab a trail map before you come, as there was none in the cabin. Likewise matches for the wood stove, we were lucky that we had some in the car as we've had forgotten to bring any with us. There was ample wood for the wood stove although if you want an outside fire you need to bring your own wood. Lovely time had by all.

A wonderful spot! The one downside is there is only one straight/long hiking path where we went by the boat launch so we just walked out and back. But it was a well kept path and it was nice to have mole markers. I would definitely recommend it and we look forward to returning.

Was overall a nice campground. We stayed in Site F, which is the further Hike-In site. It was about a 1 mile walk and was fairly secluded. The site was clean, included a picnic table, fire put and posts to hang two hammocks.
We bought wood from the campground office and after caring it about half way, a ranger did help haul it the rest of the way in their mule.

There are a lot of walking and biking trails. If you are into disc golf they have an 18 hole course. The beach is beautiful and clean. They have a separate beach for dogs. You can also rent canoes and kayaks for the entire day. Highly recommend this state park. They do not have full-site hook ups. But have the usual dump stations and water fill ups. Make sure if you have a larger rigg you check the site measurements, some of the sites were not fit for larger Riggs.

There are 2 pavilion areas that you can rent. The camp hosts were awesome and had activities during the weekend for the kids. Restrooms and showers at the campground were clean. The beach restrooms were disgusting, but I'm sure that happens when its a busy day, and they do get clean daily. The playground was very nice. They also had a basketball court and a Ga Ga ball pit. My first visit in several years. Went today to explore the hiking trails. Sleepy Hollow is a hidden gem. Nice easy drive through the country to get there. It has camping, fishing, lite boating, hunting, horse riding, etc, etc. The colors in the fall are amazing. It's a wonderland in the winter. The main trails are for only hikers, bicyclists and horse riders. Dogs on leash. If you stick to the trails you'll wander through thick forests, go past wild meadows and stroll around open water ponds and alluvial ponds. Great place to bird watch. The parking area is in great shape. Bathrooms, a gazebo and those little bbqs are available. State Park passport required but if you don't have one go talk to a ranger. If there are no rangers, we'll, go on in and enjoy the park!

Riverfront castle with watch tower built in 1922 as novelist James Oliver Curwood's writing studio.
This was such a great place to visit and tour. The history is surprising. If you have not visited and live in Michigan, you should. I lived there most of my life and never knew about the Curdwood Castle. Go!

A cute little Norman chateau style castle that was built in 1924 by author, James Oliver Curwood. This hidden gem is located in downtown Owosso next to the Shiawassee River. It doesn’t take long to go through the museum. You can go at your own pace without a tour guide. As a matter of fact, we had the whole place to ourselves. At the time of his death (age 49), Curwood was the highest paid author in the world. Curwood was a conservationist and wrote about the Great Northwest and many of his lead characters were animals. Several of his books were adapted into films such as “The Grizzly King” that was made into the movie, “The Bear”. John Wayne also starred in one of the movies called, “The Trail Beyond” adapted from the book, “The Wolf Hunters”. There is such rich history to be found in this yellow castle in downtown Owosso.

Awesome building to go see. It's right on the river. Certain days and times you can pay money to go inside and see historical items and writings. There is also an old cabin from the 17 or 1800's on the property. The entire place has string lights, so it's a really great site to see at night! The art gallery is right next to it as well and open the same days and times. Highly recommend checking it all out!

This spot is unique to the area and definitely a cool place to come check out. The castle itself holds some interesting history given to you by folks who are perfect for this sort of thing. Even just in the area outside the castle by the river, you will find a nice place to come relax for a moment and listen to the sound of the water. It would be a cool thing to bring visiting family to check out. Wish we had more places such as this in the immediate area.

This is such a well taken care of place to find peace of mind. Occasionally you'll come across ill intended teen agers running amuck chasing the wildlife away. Lots of geese & ducks to enjoy along the river. Such a serene, beautiful place.

It’s a great stop if you’re somewhat in the area. If you don’t know anything about the author, it may not be as interesting but the castle is cool to checkout. The tours were only $5 per person so it’s worth checking out
Shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores.
Totally found this by mistake. I went on a super cold day. Which ended up being perfect. I was pretty much the only person in every store. The only store I was unimpressed with was Nike, cashier had an attitude and they have a security guy at the door that wears sunglasses in the store? I mean I don't get why you need security? Especially one that thinks he is Joe cool 😎

While this center does have many options, there are quite a lot of empty lots. I feel like this place has potential, but it just needs to have better outlet shops. On a positive note, I will say that the buildings and parking lot is kept in great condition and the atmosphere here is very welcoming. It’s not the worst shopping center ever, it just needs a little more.

Who doesn't love spending the day at an outlet mall? It was clean and safe. We enjoyed the many stores at one location. Plenty of parking on the day we went.

We shop here a few times a year. You must know what you're looking for and know your price to find a deal. Make sure to stop at the Tanger Service Center first to get a coupon book - your stores may honor them.
The Service Center has nice restrooms and vending machines. Restaurants are off site.
Good luck - have fun!

This place is so big with a lot of shopping outlets and a lot of offers with cosmetics, clothes, bags and women's wear. There are a lot of options and specifically a croissant sandwich place which is too good. The middle of nowhere. I wish there were more options inside the outlets but the one that is present is a quality place.

Great value and sales depend on the store. Just be cautious and alway check what time the mall closes. Ever store runs on that time and not the store time listed online. For example; Stetches store online says they are open till 9pm but they are not. They are open till 7pm with the mall itself.

Been going here for over 18 years now. I worked at multiple stores a long time ago there's a lot of great stores here. Especially bath n body works. Hot topic the kitchen store pac sun, there's a coach discount store here. Over 5o stores here. They also have sketcher's, Nike, famous footwear, I don't like shopping with large crowds and luckily I'm only 5 minutes drive from here so I go at 10 am when they open. Definitely check it out they also have coupon books gift cards and great deals

Good access to the Freeway 96. Many popular bland shops. Recently Adidas outlet store is back outlet mall again. It is nice place to shop and find a good deal here, but not many eating places inside the mall. Wish this mall has a food court even smaller size.

Nice outlet mall in Howell. Wide variety of stores, some affordable and some higher end. The place has a huge layout and plenty of parking available. The stores were modern and clean. A pleasant shopping experience was had.

LOVE this place! My money goes sooo much further here than at the mall. Great outing day with my daughter to scoop up some deals on brands she loves!

My husband and I visited Tanger last weekend and both walked away with some pretty great deals!! He loved the discounts in the Coach store so much that he brought me two purses!! And the Bath and Body Works was having their annual sale- so I spent about $85, and could barely carry the bag around.. I try to get here about once or twice a year- and it's always a SCORE!!

Many varieties of stores to shop. Very friendly. Happy to see stores open that one can go inside to shop instead of online. I like to feel the materials of clothes and check the craftsmanship of items before purchasing them. Nice clean Mall. Easy to get to and have lunch after shopping.

It's my first time visit to Tanger outlets. It's built in a very huge area, there are many different factors outlet stores here that includes GUESS, GAP, CALVIN KLEIN etc. Prices are reasonable and there are plenty of varieties of inventory available. Best during summer. People typically spend about 2 to 3 hours here. The main advantage of the outlets is the price, inventory and you find lot of competitors for each product. This is little far from the place I live. Rest everything is fine.
This museum focused on steam-era railroad technology offers visitors a variety of train excursions.
November 2021 - family of 5 went on the Polar express. We went on a Saturday night and had a blast. My 3 daughters are under 10. We went on Vixen and the 2 young ladies did a great job keep us entertained. We go to Ashley, MI. Its a small town and we went right to Santa. Didn't wait long. A lot of things for the kids to do. The volunteers are wonderful. You can make or buy items there. You can get food. We plan on doing this again next year with more family and friends. Tickets normally go on sale in the spring.

This was our first trip on the Pere Marquette. We choose the swivel chairs which turned out to be an excellent choice for comfort and viewing. The staff in our car and elsewhere were incredibly friendly and made the trip fun. The town of Ashley is definitely geared towards children but it's fun to check out the small stores. Overall, it was a fun experience.

Great history of the railroad. Friendly, knowledgeable, fun tour guides. Great exhibits, real working trains that you can see and touch and explore. They restore old trains to teach the history of how the railroad shapes our country

I'm waiting for the Steam Railroading Institute to come back to Kalkaska Station. You wouldn't recognize this place. The rails, ties, switch and siding are improved and replaced. The "Section-Gang" has this place ready for some "big" shared event.

We were given a nice tour of the trains!! The tour guide was very knowledgeable. My grandson really enjoyed it. They have a nice train table for kids to play with. They also have a goody bag for all the kids that come there.

It was quite an experience here I've been wanting to go here for years. Not sure why but I finally made it only to see The polar Express was getting maintenance done so sorry to say this year I don't think there's going to be rides with this train pulling anyone. The wheels were completely off the train. Our tour guide that we had which is very informative about everything. I really enjoyed all he was telling me. I wish I could remember his name but he said that in my lifetime I'll never see this happen again to The polar Express train that was the train that featured in The polar Express movie. So next year I will have to go for a ride.

My family and I came for the polar express and wow what a experience. The conductors were beyond friendly and the two we had in our car Denise and Joni were so fun! They coordinated Christmas songs with fun aides and snow ball races. I can't wait to do it again and want to visit the institute in the summer to view the building.

Absolutely awesome what they are doing here! I love this place and have revisited it multiple times. We took the North Pole Express trip twice, and have been there for a few events. This place is very kid friendly. They have a play area inside the museum portion, and kids' souvenirs are available. The staff is great and helpful.
On one of the North Pole express trips, they had a cash bar in the adult-only parlor car, which we enjoyed. The drinks are themed accordingly, which I was a big fan of.

The North Pole Express was a magical experience. We went with a group of my Mom-Friends and our kids. We got the seats in the dining cars. The kids sipped on hot cocoa, had delicious treats brought to us on the on the way there and back. The staff in our car (Holly) lead Christmas songs and shared historical information about the train. The conductor came around on the way home and signed the Polar Express book that we bought in Ashley. Ashley completely transformed into the North Pole. All of the staff and vendors there were so incredibly joyful and in character! I was so impressed, it was Disney level commitment. There was a free magic show there, the Grinch, shops, rides, a toy shop where kids could make a toy and so many nods to the Polar Express movie. We loved it! Worth every penny and we will definitely do this again. Also making a trip back to Ashley because we didn’t get to do everything.
If you go, definitely wear your pajamas like in the movie! Lots of people do this or wear matching shirts and holiday hats, necklaces, etc. You can bring snacks on the train, so that is great. Water bottles and non-sugary snacks are a good idea for the kiddos.
Great time for our sons birthday party. A huge jungle gym, laser tag & arcade games. Our room was clean & the staff was attentive. Our birthday package came with pizza, drinks, goodie bags for each guest, $10 game cards for each kid & a build a bear for the birthday boy. Highly recommend for a birthday party or for some time out with your kids.

I wouldn't recommend take your kids over here. The ground doesn't cover with evafoam or any kind of cushions for kids fall. Most of kid ground has some sort of fall protection foam. This place doesn't. My daughter just falled over at this place and hit her head on the ground. take kids here at your own risks.

Great value for hours of burning energy. We brought an 8 and 3 year old here on a Friday afternoon and had a blast! All they did was run up stairs and slide down things for hours. I overheard another kid say "I am exhausted" and my kids were the same. We stretched out the 5 level play place and the inflatable slides/houses for 3 hours before they just couldn't play anymore. Obviously they said they could and cried not wanting to leave because it was so much fun.
Adults were free which is awesome, they could charge us to watch or hardly participate like others do. I still climbed the playplace and went down the inflatable slide a few times. Nostalgic and fun for us too.

I use to take my kiddos 1-2 times weekly but once my daughter hit 1 and it was $8 for her also I stopped. She don’t even do much but run around they should have 2 and under a few bucks cheaper and 1 and under free I think if another sibling is attending.

This place was awesome and reminded me of similar places I enjoyed as a kid. My girls 3yo and 6yo could’ve stayed all day. We went in August when it was extremely hot outside and Castaway’s offered a nice cool place to burn off some of their energy. They especially like the bounce house area.

Took my grandchildren here(2 &8 yrs old) they played hard for hours. My 2 yr old grand daughter was able to do EVERYTHING her 8 yr old brother did. Very well worth it and I am so excited to say after all the climbing and running around in white socks they both had white socks after almost 3 hrs. Very clean play scapes and bounce houses

The wife and I love bringing the kiddos here to play. It's closed in quite nicely so you don't have to worry about one of the Littles venturing off into the busy road. The staff are always polite and the establishment is always kept tidy and clean. I've been inside the play area and it doesn't smell or have mold like some places have had in the past. This is a safe and fun place to bring kids of all ages. Even my older kids (17 and 15) like to come play with their little siblings. I'd highly recommend for any parents that need a break, come let the kids burn off a couple hours of energy.

First time going to Castaway with 2 6 year olds and a 3 year old. Drove 45 mins to come and we would be coming more. Prices to jump and all the games is great. So much do for all ages and comfy chairs for the parents. 2 things I noticed was how clean everything was and the cost for prizes was great. The workers was super nice and makes you feel welcome too. Highly recommend check this out

Not a good place for special needs children at all! My autistic son went in, started screaming straight away, and ran right back out! It literally was all of 2 minutes since paying, and the staff wouldn't give me a refund on his pass. That is absolutely unethical! I haven't returned since, even though my other 3 kids wanted to go back. I just can't give money to a place like that. It's not like I asked for a refund all 4 of my kids, just the one that wasn't able to handle being there due to sensory issues. I was astounded that they wouldn't refund his pass. I would understand if he played there for a bit and then had a sensory issue, but it was literally right after paying to go in. I won't go back now. I'm not giving my money to unethical people like that.

I absolutely love this place! There's something for all ages and even an arcade area. There are so many options and not too bad on prices to unlock it all. Family-run farm with pick-your-own apples, hay wagon rides & a huge corn maze, plus a winery.
The donuts inside are we're good. They had a really nice play place for the kids to play. For some of the rides you need to purchase tickets. They had some farm animals. There was a train ride that took you around the orchard. They do take credit cards. The cider and donut line moved extremely fast!

We stopped here because of the good reviews and all it showed they had to offer. They have a winery that has great drinks and service! They also had a ton of stands set up where you could get hot food and snacks. They had lots for adults and kids, making it perfect for families. I have been to a lot of orchards, and this is definitely one of my favorites. Cant wait for my favorite time of the year to come back around!

Absolutely amazing! Best cider mill I've ever been to. The doughnuts were so fresh, soft, and yet crisp. The cider was deliciously sweet. And, they have so many attractions to keep the kids entertained! We hope to come back and test a flight at the winery next time.

A family run farm with a market and winery that is open year round.
We went on a Friday afternoon and it was not too crowded. You pay 3.00 a person to pick. They take you by wagon to the orchards. When you are done picking, they weigh your container and you pay for your berries.
We picked a pint of raspberries and a container of blueberries. They also have a sunflower field that you cut your own sunflowers..$10 for 5.
Next up will be peaches in August. Apple picking is the most popular but they do sell fresh donuts, cider and fudge year round in the market. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are super friendly.
After picking we sat in the outdoor area by the tasting room to sample some of their wines and ciders. They also have a kitchen serving a few food items. The Coney Dog was amazing!
For a fun day out in the country, Spicers is the place to go.
John Moore — Google review
Spicers does things right. Donuts and Cider are delicious. All kinds of activities and different food options on the weekends. Not very busy during the week and a lot of things are not open. So many different options of snacks and more inside the barn. You can ride on the hey ride and pick your own pumpkin out at the patch. Overall a great experience. Lots of parking and not a lot of waiting to purchase anything. Would definitely be back when I'm looking for a good Donut and Cider spot.

Spicers was such a fun day out! They had so many animals, a great playground area, wonderful store with some of the best donuts and surprisingly amazing cookies! The hay ride was so fun and the driver did a great job of describing the apple 🍎 orchard lay out. They have different kinds of apples and had multiple stops for getting off to pick off different fields. The staff was all so kind and helpful with everything. I appreciated all the hand washing stations and sanitizer bottles placed through out the farm. They have more going on during the weekends: they add a train ride and have some mini theme park rides, etc. but weekdays are nice and quiet and usually have more older couples coming out for some cider, donuts and the winery.

Stopped in while driving by today, and so glad we did!!! The cider was amazing, and that Ice Wine is delicious!!! Steve answered our many questions in the tasting room.... that guy should get a raise! The little bakery and shop is filled with goodies. I can't wait to go back.

We went to the train ride and cabin and it was awesome. Going into the cabin to see Santa one on one made things a lot easier for our little, to give him alittle time to adjust and not get overwhelmed, and the train ride was nice for him to be able enjoy the ride and look around. I definitely recommend going and taking bc the kids. After everything, you get hot chocolate or cider and a donut.
Ashley Farrer — Google review
We came to pick apples and enjoyed the day! You pay in advance for your apple bags and then wait for the tractor wagon to pick you up and take you to the orchard. The wait wasn't long. The shoppe had a lot of things inside, including the fresh fruit, but also jams and jellies, popcorn, ice cream, donuts, cider and more.
there is a play area outside that I did not see anyone at, I wonder if it is only open on the weekends. We did not pay for an admission fee. My family also enjoyed the donuts. There is also an animal area.
Kathryn Friedlund — Google review
Popular Fall favorite. This place can be very busy on weekends. Plenty to do to keep the kids entertained and full of sugar. Must try the cider and cider apple donuts. There are wagon hay rides that can take you to pick apples and several kid carnival style games. If it is a great weather Fall weekend be prepared to search for parking and then walking to get to the Orchard. They also have a winery that does serve some appetizers and sandwiches on certain days, check before you go.

Still a good place to visit.
They did move the food trucks. More parking for everyone. They even added live music.
Not so many people because of Covid19. Still a decent amount of people.
The atmosphere is still the same.
I should add, the play area for the kids is only $2. A lot cheaper than Blake's.
Both, Blake's and Spicers have really outdone themselves. Great job to both places for bringing meaning to "Cider Mill" or "Apple orchard".

Going to many cider mills, I was not going to get excited. We heard of this place because everyone was going there. Fenton? That's pretty far away! Boy was I surprised! This place was like an amusement park for the kids. Animals, rides, food, etc. Wow. Giving this place a 10! for the effort. Wow. You really need to see this place to enjoy it. They had ZIP lines, jumping thing, etc. You can ride a pony! Pet an animal. Walk a MAZE. Enjoy a hay ride or pick apples yourself. There was about 200-300 cars out today. Sept 25, 2016. Nice numbers.
Come here if you are on the West side of Detroit.

We did the corn maze and loved it. It's not easy! Then a wine tasting and the store. Going back another time to try the ice cream flight, yes that's a thing. 5 ice cream samples for 8.50. If you have children, there's lots for them too - small petting zoo, playground equipment, donuts and cider, wagon rides, and life size checkers. Definitely recommend.
Migratory waterfowl are a highlight of this wetland area with walking trails & a scenic drive.
Very peaceful place to see lots of wildlife and plants. Birds galore. The auto trail is fun, but you can't get up close to nature in a car.
Beautiful in the evening when the frogs and insects are singing. You can hear the geese, swans, and sandhill cranes calling as well as coyotes yammering at each other. A wonderful gem of habitat reclamation in the middle of famland.
There is a vault toilet up the trail if needed.

We stopped here while in Saginaw and went through the driving trail. It was enjoyable but very long. Once you start the drive you have to finish it as it is only 1-way. It is also a stone path so this may not be suitable for those concerned about dents or dings to their vehicles from rocks bouncing up from the ground. The walking path would be another option for those not wanting to do the driving trail, which we did not do. There were not many animals when we went besides a few birds, butterflies and dragonflies. The view was really nice and is something cool to experience if in the Saginaw area. Something to visit at least once. We may visit again in the fall and do the walking trail when it is not so hot.

Shiawassee National Wildlife Preserve is just that, it only has primitive facilities and nominal changes to the natural surroundings in the area.
It has good views of wetland areas, extensive woodlands and some dirt trails and roads to follow.
The Nature drive is still closed for the season and construction that isn't completed.
The main wooded areas are completely covered in a foot or two of standing water due to enormous amounts of rainfall this year. One of the trail shortcuts is flooded and cannot be crossed without wading in water covered in algae.
We did see a lot of Great Egrets, a mature Bald Eagle, and several Great Blue Herons.
We also surprised a groundhog who was sleeping 5 feet up in a tree because the forest is flooded. We didn't even know groundhogs can climb trees!
Because of the standing water, there are hundreds of mosquitos and biting black flies all over the trails. Be sure to bring bug spray if you plan on walking in the Preserve.
The scenery is beautiful, and I'm sure it's even better when the woods aren't flooded and animals don't have to either flee the area or climb into trees for refuge.
Zoo with interactive exhibits features 150 animals, 80 gardens & a hand-painted carousel.
Such a cute zoo! Tons of fun for the kids but also fun for adults too. Paths are paved, plenty of shade and benches to sit. The animals are all well kept with nice enclosures. There's a train and a carousel ride plus snack stands. Lots of pretty flower beds, anyone can adopt a flower bed and make your own special creations. The penguins are so adorable! When we went they were enjoying the shower of water, looked like they were playing. We go here every year, super cheap admission and cheap tickets for rides. Plus they have a cute little gift shop that's not too expensive. Recommend!

Great zoo for little people. My youngest enjoyed it & it wasn't too much walking. The older kids were a little less enthusiastic about it. It was a little chilly when we went so some of animals weren't out, but a fun and quaint zoo. Great value for the price.
We just found out (we've never been here before) that their zoo boo is one of their fundraisers. It was definitely worth the $8/ person to support a little zoo. There's a train ride around the perimeter of the zoo and it's a good view of animals in the back. They also have a carousel that holds little ones up to adults.
Great value for a half day trip. If the animals were out, it could be a great family outing.

This is a very nice and very well kept up with children's zoo. The animals were spaced out perfectly and had wonderful viewable areas. There are plenty of places to stop with the little ones to rest in shade. There is a great playground area that offers shade for adults. The nature gardens are beautiful and decorated very nice. They have scavenger hunts and crafts throughout as well. It was pretty cool that peacocks just roam around.

It has evolved over the years. Even though the whale gift shop is gone, the train is still awesome. We love the new variety of animals. The admission and gift shop have reasonable prices. The PRAIRIE DOGS! This place is a must go simply for the prairie dog exhibit. They are the cutest, most lively form of entertainment I have seen at any zoo! Among the rest of the creatures at this fantastic place were birds, gators, wolves, deer, goats, monkeys, penguins, alpacas, and lamas. (I’m probably missing some.) The many flower gardens make it an absolutely breathtaking experience. All of the staff seem so happy to work there and be around the animals. The animals are well taken care of and happy to! We will definitely be back!

We had a group of 8. 5 kids and 3 adults. For the 48 dollars it cost is, it was well worth it! The kids had a blast. We saw lots of different animals, and even all rode the train. Would definitely visit again! There's a few hands on things that the kids can do as well! I love to look at all their different garden set ups from donors as well. It's truly a beautiful zoo!

I had the pleasure of visiting the Saginaw zoo today with my partner and children. It is a small, but beautiful zoo that is perfect for a day out with the family. We have been going to this zoo since we were kids, and it is great to share the experience with our children.
The zoo is always making improvements, and it is clear that the staff is dedicated to providing a great experience for visitors. The animals are well-cared for and the exhibits are clean and well-maintained.
While the train was closed due to construction it usually gives a unique perspective of the zoo. The train ride is a great way to see all of the animals, and it is a lot of fun for kids. I can’t wait for the train to be back after the construction improvements.
Overall, we had a great time at the Saginaw zoo. It is a great place to visit with the family, and we would definitely recommend it to others.

We decided to stop here as a surprise for our kids (ages 9y and 7y) on the way back from a nearby staycation. I am so happy we did! This is a great, unique little zoo. There were a few exhibits down, but I think you come across that at any zoo. They also had some new enclosures being built, which makes me excited for a later visit. The floating bridge over the marsh walk was my favorite! The zoo was very affordable (entry for 4 people, and 2 tickets for the carousel only ran us $32), and thankfully it was not overcrowded either (we got there about 1230pm on a Monday). The animals all looked healthy and the staff there was friendly and professional. Our family has food allergies, and the staff at the food service areas had no problem helping us find safe foods, it was greatly appreciated. We took our time enjoying every bit of the small zoo, we ended up staying about 4hrs, but you could easily get through it much faster. Overall, I'm really glad we stopped, it was a great day outing for all of us, and I definitely plan to go back again next year to see the new exhibits and ride the train.

Great zoo for children! Plan to spend about 3 to 4 hours. Nice little petting farm, children's play area, fossil hunt in the giant sandbox, train, and carousel as well. They allow you to park strollers at the train boarding area so you don't take them on with you. My 2 year old gson had a blast!

Nice smaller zoo. They have a wonderful playground and fossil dig(sandbox) so the kids can burn off some energy. You can easily get through the whole zoo in an hour or two or stay longer with various activities for the kids. The carousel is nice and they have a floating bridge in the lily pond. Lots of animals for a small zoo.

Small zoo. Very adorable for a nice afternoon trip. Took about 25 mins to view most of the animals. I believe this was opening weekend so a few of the animals were not out yet. There was a nice carousel ride as we were leaving. There was also some food options. My brother loved it. I’d go back if it wasn’t so far from my home.

A couple things changed since previous years. You can no longer enter the bird area and a couple paths have been blocked or re routed. We always have a good time with our little one and teens who loves to look at all the different animals. Lots of things to look at and see. Good, cheap, family friendly place to visit.
Only thing I would like to see change is the underwater area windows need to be cleaned. When we started attending yearly about 7 years ago we were able to see thru at the fish.
The Castle Museum, which is one of the branches of Budapest History Museum, showcases the history of the city spanning over 2000 years. This museum, housed in a French Renaissance Revival-style building from 1898, has four floors that exhibit exhibitions focused on local history. Restored palace rooms dating back to the 15th century can be accessed from the two-level basement featuring three vaulted halls.
What an awesome resource for the people of saginaw and the great lakes Bay region. From the history of natural resources to the auto industry, everything is included. My favorite part was the history of the building itself. My kids lived finding all the fairy doors. Great way to spend a few hours and educational too!

This is a really cool museum at an extremely affordable price! There were 4 of us and we paid the family price of $5. Alot of history and artifacts and there is something for everyone. They are also open many days of the week including some holidays as we went on the 4th of July while in Saginaw for the Holiday weekend. Everyone was very friendly as well and the entire building was very clean and kept up well. I didn't take many pictures because I was living in the moment this day but the whole experience was better than expected from what I seen online and in other people's reviews. Would definitely recommend to go at least once!

We got to see the amazing castle from the outside, as it was closed by the time we were able to visit. Whomp! 😢
Really amazing seeing how well it is built and how beautiful it is! 🏰 I will amend this review once we are able to see the inside.
Beautiful experience even from a far!

Great history in this museum, old post office and processing area, peep holes above for the supervisor to spy on employees. Some other great displays too.

Admissions are very cheap and on the Sunday we went, it was free. There is interesting history of Saginaw on every floor and beautiful and interesting, often interactive displays. My favorite was the green spiral staircase in the tower.

This was the Best Experience at this Museum. All kinds of History that was really fascinating, and educational. I would recommend anyone who stops in Saginaw to check out this place.

Great museum to visit! It's only $5 per family for entry. There's 3 floors of exhibits and some interactive things for kids. Only a short drive off the freeway, great place to stop on a family vacation.

What a gem of local history! First time here and it was really neat to see Saginaw's past, some of the displays are set up in such a way that you feel like that era has come alive again. They don't have dinosaur bones, but everything else makes up for it! My 7 year old enjoyed this place and so did I. There's soooo much to see on all three levels. Recommend!

This building is Fabulous! There is a small parking lot in the rear of the building, so you do not need to use the street parking. You enter the museum from the back of the building and are instructed to walk to the front to check-in. Then you may proceed from there to explore the exhibits.
The cost to get into the museum was $1.00 for adults and .50 cents for kids. There are 3 levels to see. There is an elevator. There are nice clean bathrooms. There is a small selection of souvenir T-shirts and such. This museum is well kept. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
The exhibits are great with lots of facts and stories to read. Or, just look and take it all in that way.
I loved that they had current Saginaw High School athletes displayed along with the way-back-when athletes.

We were absolutely blown away by the Castle Museum! The exhibits and collections were so well done. We spent several hours exploring. The are exhibits on the basement, first floor, and second floor. The kids loved the fairy doors found throughout the museum and all the other interactive exhibits. The building is absolutely beautiful,

Free for Saginaw County residents! Looking for something new to do? This is the place. Learning about a city that I grew up in was one of the best muesem experiences I've ever had. If you go, make sure to look for the little doors throughout the building!

We spent a lot of time here on Sunday. They have so many interesting displays. Loved it!
Everyone of course loves the hill at this park ! Rolling down too! We spend many many days here since we love walking the trails, playing at the playground and having lunch. Watching the ball games and the splashpad we haven't even tried yet but will for sure! One of my favorites ❤

Its a really nice park. We usually go to the splash pad in the summer and to the big hill for some sledding during the winter.
There’s lots of pavilions, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields and baseball as well.
There’s a long nice trail for bikes or just for a good walk.
The only thing i dont like are the mobile restrooms🥲.

Creasey Bicentennial Park is a local park located in Grand Blanc Township. The park is free to enter and is dog and family friendly. It has a splash pad, baseball diamonds, volleyball and basketball courts, playgrounds and a walking path and bike trails. Years ago, you could sled down the hill for free, but I believe they charge for that now. You can rent the pavilion for family picnics. The park is located about five minutes outside of downtown Grand Blanc on Grand Blanc road. The park is open every day of the year from 8 am to dusk.

The Flint Children's Museum is a long-standing educational venue that offers interactive exhibits for kids. The museum features a miniature town with various settings such as a grocery store, post office, vet hospital, and house among others. It's an excellent place to take your little ones where they can learn while having fun. This museum is suitable for elementary school children and toddlers alike. It provides an opportunity for children to explore different scenarios that promote creativity and imagination.
A fun place to take your little ones. A nice size place where I feel like elementary school kids and younger will enjoy. They have multiple different set ups like a pretend grocery store, post office, vet hospital, house, and some others. I have a 6 year old and almost 2 year old and they both loved it!

I took my nephews here and they loved it. They played for about 2 1/2 hours before we left. They were firefighters, mailman, vets, dentest, cashiers, shoppers, chefs, pirates, zookeepers and safari men, all in one day 😅😂😍 Also, the staff was helpful and nice. We will be back.

Parking was completely full. We had to park across the street (around the corner) in the school parking lot and walk. I'm told its not normally that busy but it was a free day so it was packed! My kids are 8 & 10 and my niece 7. I was at first concerned it was for younger kids but they all seemed to enjoy themselves. No one complained about being board and were all sad to leave at closing time! The outdoor area was awesome. Plenty to do and the water pump had them occupied for over an hour! Probably would've been longer but it was closing time. In doors they spent most of their time pretending to be postmen delivering mail. There was a rock climbing wall, dress up area, puppet show area, grocery store, play house, fire truck, etc. More than enough room for all the kids to play and enjoy themselves. Definitely worth the trip.

Quite a remarkable place with lots of fun activities for kids. From science to sensory to fiction, this place offers great experience for children. There is no food for sale but they have a designated eating area if you get food from outside. Plus, the outdoor play area closes about an hour early than the museum hours. Tickets can be purchased on spot and they have discounts for members, EBT holders and some other categories. Overall a wonderful experience!

Wonderful little gem in Flint. My granddaughter just loved it here so much she didn't want to leave. There are so many interesting things to see and do that you may not get to everything in one visit. There were alot of fun activities outside as well. I am not sure if the outdoor activities continue in the winter or not though there is plenty to do inside. I even saw some older kids having fun even though the games and activities are geared toward toddler ages primarily. I would say kids from toddler to age 8 or 9 would like it best. Sorry I couldn't post more pictures but all of them except 2 had her in the picture. Also an added bonus was entrance was half off for grandparents bringing their grandchildren for the month of September.

This place has a lot of neat activities for kids. The staff is hit or miss some are nice others are extremely rude. I assume they’re exhausted from all the wild parents they deal with or something, but either way it’s still rude. We do still love it especially for kids 6 and under.

This is a fantastic experience for children! I pretty much stayed out of the way and let the kids explore and learn. The staff are very friendly and helpful and everything is clean and well kept. I take the grandkids here every time I'm in town.
