How long is the drive from Arcata to Redding?
The direct drive from Arcata to Redding is 139 mi (223 km), and should have a drive time of 2 hrs 39 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Arcata to Redding, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like Lady Bird Johnson Grove Trail and Blue Lake Casino Hotel, or the ever-popular Redwood National and State Parks.
The top stops along the way from Arcata to Redding (with short detours) are Sundial Bridge, Redwood National and State Parks, and Turtle Bay Exploration Park. Other popular stops include Lady Bird Johnson Grove Trail, Sacramento River Trail, and Weaverville Joss House State Historic Park.
Redwood National and State Parks is a vast forested area filled with towering redwood trees, campgrounds, and hiking trails. It is the southernmost part of a collection of state and federally administered lands under the Redwood National & State Parks umbrella. The park offers several options for hiking, including Lady Bird Johnson Grove with its kid-friendly 1-mile loop trail or Tall Trees Grove for secluded serenity.
Came to look at the trees to find a wedding/photo venue. The park ranger at the info center was knowledgeable and pleasant. Everything was nice.
As far as the park goes, this is an amazing national park and I am happy to know my tax dollars here are for such a great use.
Trees are massive and it is crazy to stand next to them. Trails are well maintained.

I was so overdue for a visit to walk amongst the giants, right along the ocean! Soaking up prehistoric beauty along old Hwy 101, Prairie Creek area, for the day. It's magical, moving, and a perfect reset for the soul.
Jamie — Google review
Absolutely stunning and definitively worth visiting..! Don't overlook the short but very beautiful Ah-Pah Interpretative Trail.. you won't find better views in an otherwise very compact 0.4 miles round trip trail! Only downside for that trail - not a lot of parking at the trailhead.
Ryan Smith — Google review
We took a couple of trails in Jedediah Smith and Prairie Creek during our family trip. Seeing the Redwoods was on my bucket list. It was magical. If you enjoy nature and hiking I highly recommend it. There is no place on earth like it.
Tiffany Katz — Google review
An absolutely stunning place to visit and walk amongst the largest trees anywhere in the world. The Tall Trees Grove Trail is well worth your time and I would highly recommend getting the permit and taking the hike. You can’t fully realize the true size of these trees until you see them in person and realize just how impressive they truly are.
Robert Knott — Google review
Nice quiet place trees are fantastic some of the side roads are rough but worth going up. Elk prairie lives up to its name since wild elk are constantly present in the area. Great views from the coastal trail.
William Shultz — Google review
Being among these ancient trees truly feels amazing. It's almost like going back in time to when these redwoods covered most of America at one point. Every stop you take, whether on the side of a road or within the state parks, is breathtaking. No photo will capture or do full justice to the serenity and magnitude of the Redwoods.
Sam Glusker — Google review
This place is confusing, the nps and state split is overlapping. Great driftwood and crashing surf pull offs. Obviously much more to see and hike, but not straight forward for a tourist driving through on the 101
Christian Scott — Google review
Redwood National and State Parks will always be one of my favorite places on the planet. Pay to park, camp, or get a yearly pass and hike the easy, well maintained trails. In the spring and summer be wary of poison oak off of the trails, but if you stick the to the trails and leave leaves of three alone you shouldn't get it. This is a great location for camping with family and friends and day trips, but my favorite use of these magnificent parks is meeting my clients here for photoshoots that look like they came from a storybook!
Janessa Martin — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking!!! No picture or video could ever do this place justice. While driving through this place you will see that they are indeed massive. It’s not until you get out and do some trails that you realize the trees get so much bigger deeper in the forest. It’s dead quiet which really makes it peaceful. I really did love it here and can’t wait to come back and see more trails. It is damp inside the forest so be ready for that. It really makes you think about how small you are in this world. Its also makes you realize how terrible humans have been to cut down such enormous trees for money. So do yourself a favor and take a hike through this ancient forest and fall in love with it!
Casey Sharp — Google review
Figuring out the Redwoods was confusing. I didn't understand that it was four separate parks, all next to each, other until I got there and started exploring in person. Once you get the lay of the land, however, it is a pretty straightforward experience. Tons of beautiful trails to explore and even some off-road options for your four-wheel drive vehicle as well as some beach trails. I definitely recommend making the drive up and I wish I would have done it sooner.
Christopher R. Abbey — Google review
Beautiful and magnificent trees. Views are breathtaking. Drury scenic parkway is nice and easy drive up and down with a lot of trail heads within easy walk. Saw hollow trees,”The Big Tree” and twisted tree.

Finally got this off my bucket list. I was mesmerized by this place. The trees and forest in all of its glory... You can look up all the pictures but to see them in person is a completely different feeling and site. You have to see them. The roads are crazy beautiful sights as well. The sun peaking through the canopy... .an of man. What a beautiful place!

Nestled within the USA, the Redwood Forest beckons with its great charm. As I wandered through the woods, the towering redwoods stood tall, casting a serene atmosphere. Their grandness is somewhat humbling, a reminder of nature's quiet strength.
Walking along the well-marked trails, the forest's peaceful ambiance gave me goosebumps. The filtered sunlight created a gentle play of light and shadows, enhancing the sense of calm. The air was crisp and carried the earthy scent of the forest floor.
During my visit, the forest felt like a secluded haven. Away from the urban bustle, it's a place to unwind and relax. The sounds of birds and rustling leaves provided a soothing backdrop, creating a harmonious escape.
While the Redwood Forest may not be the most flamboyant attraction, its understated beauty is its true charm. It's a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect with nature. If you're seeking a quiet retreat amidst these towering giants, this forest offers a serene haven to experience the tranquility of the great out doors.

It's a beautiful park and perfect for hikers. That's pretty much the whole park, hiking trails. No entry fee. Worth the stop if you're in the area. Unless you are a serious hiker, probably not worth a multi day drive to get there. I'm disabled so I only did 3 short hikes. It was beautiful, but my husband had to hike alone after the first 3.
Renee Bragg — Google review
Amazing and dramatic, this is an astounding series of trails, groves, and drives that are well worth your time
Make sure to bring the right clothes and boots if you visit during the rainy season because you will get very wet

Wow. What a truly underrated National Park! So beautiful! Lots of areas to do small, interesting little hikes if you have kids or are otherwise unable to hike several miles. The sequoias are truly a sight to see. The mountains are being too, and driving down into Fresno is a beautiful transition from deep forest to sprawling plains. Can’t wait to come back for a weekend and hike more of it!
William Schutte — Google review
It was so pretty here! There is plenty of parking for RVs and cars. Sadly one of the scenic drives was closed due to a landslide. The trails were not bad at all for being rainy on the day we went. We did trillium falls and Karl’s trail and they both were amazing. Definitely recommend this national park!
Zachary Bushey — Google review
These National Parks are very popular and unique because of their tallest trees on Earth. Different types of trees are found throughout the parks including the oldest ones. Big trunks and huge lengths will make you mesmerizing. Redwood as home to the tallest trees on Earth. But the Parks also protect vast prairies, oak woodlands, wild rivers, and 40 miles of rugged coastline.
Anu Sharma — Google review
It is a great National Park. It’s completely different from South and North California. I went there in November , the week of Thanksgiving. It’s free to get inside the Park. There are countless views and different feelings driving from south to north. The people at visit centers are very kind, patient, enthusiastic to answer questions!
Barbradan Huang — Google review
This place makes you feel like you are in Jurassic park. These trees are absolutely humongous and make me feel so tiny in comparison. There are so many great areas to take pictures and videos as well as many trails/hikes along the road. I love how green and fertile everything is around the Red Woods.
The Lady Bird Johnson Grove Trail is a scenic pathway spanning 1.4 miles through an upland redwood grove. This trail pays homage to the former First Lady's commitment to the environment. It features a loop towards the end and is considered easy for people of all ages due to its relatively flat terrain. Families can complete it in around half an hour, but many choose to take their time and absorb the majestic surroundings of this magical environment.
A perfect family hike. The trail is an easy one-mile loop through the grove along an old logging road. Our family could have easily completed the loop in a half hour, but we took our time meandering among the majestic trees, and enjoying this magical environment. At the time of our visit, my wife was in a walking boot, and she had no trouble with the trail.
Scott Karavlan — Google review
Highly recommended. If you only have time for ONE trail to experience the magnificent of coastal redwood forest, do this one. Tall original growth coastal redwoods on top, tan oaks as lower canopy, with magnificent native Rhododendron just above your head and lush carpet of ferns spreading on and on. Easy access to the parking lot by small vehicles, trails are relatively wide and flat but can be very muddy since this area is constantly enclosed by thick fogs. And, no pets.
Brendon Lo — Google review
Cool trail and bridge, but I would probably head to the Prarie creek elk reserve due to more available parking spaces and the variety of sites. This area is a mixed stand of second growth and old growth with very cool burn scars to look at.
Holli Pruhsmeier — Google review
Every visitor should take this short stroll among the Old Growth Redwoods that inspired the founding of the National Park. The enormity of these giant redwood trees is truly humbling and the experience will bring tears to your eyes. So quiet, so peaceful, and so awe inspiring.
Russell Miller — Google review
Such a beautiful grove that includes Old Growth. I did the short 1.5 mile loop and it was a well maintained trail with plenty of sights to see. What I enjoy about this grove is that the road to get here is inaccessible for buses and RVs so you don't get the humongous crowds you'd get at the other groves.
Steven Mejia — Google review
Easy 1.5 mile trail, mostly flat. Good for families with small children and a "warm up" for more experienced hikers. Large redwoods. Interactive ( app) trail, but I chose not to use the electronics here.

The Lady Bird Johnson Grove Trail in California is a hidden gem within the stunning landscapes of nature. As you embark on this trail, you are transported into a world of towering redwoods and serene beauty. The trail winds through the ancient grove, immersing you in a serene and awe-inspiring atmosphere. The towering giants, with their majestic presence, create a sense of reverence and wonder. The surrounding area is a symphony of tranquility, with the rustling of leaves and the occasional bird song accompanying your journey. As you meander along the trail, you'll encounter breathtaking viewpoints that offer glimpses of the surrounding forests, valleys, and the distant ocean. The Lady Bird Johnson Grove Trail is a testament to the resplendent beauty of nature, providing a peaceful retreat where you can connect with the grandeur of the redwoods and find solace in the harmony of the natural world.

Great to visit if you want to go to Redwood but not do any hiking or anything too physical . The parking lot gets full but people come and go quite frequently. It's an easy walk (normal shoes are fine) and you can certainly find yourself in a totally silent section. Well worth a visit and I spent about an hour here.
Jimmy H — Google review
This was the first hike we took in the Redwoods- I can see why it tops almost every top hikes list you find online for the area! We hiked it in the rain — it was level and easy, great no matter the weather. Be sure to wear waterproof boots if you do catch a rainy day!
Megan Bond — Google review
Great trail with more old-growth redwoods (including one in the parking lot that gives you a complete view of its height). The trail is a 1.5-mile loop through the Grove; Berry Glen Trail continues for 3.5 miles, one way, to Elk Meadow Day Use Area. The trail is easy to moderate. Berry Glen Trail steeply descends 1,200 feet to Elk Meadow.
In 1969 President Nixon dedicated this grove to former First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson, for all of her conservation and environmental work. The dedication plaque for Lady Bird Johnson Grove can be seen about half a mile down the trail. She came to the site in November 1968 to help dedicate Redwood National Park. She returned in August 1969 to be honored by Richard Nixon.
Fabrice Nye — Google review
This trail is magical. I recommend going early in the morning when the sun shines through the most in the trees.
The path is generally very flat and not too long but there are so many beautiful trees to see. It's a nice little escape in the redwoods! Very much worth a stop!
Jesse Thompson (Tecmag Diams) — Google review
Beautiful scenery, absolutely stunning.
Get there early as the parking gets taken up pretty quickly.
It's about a 30ish min hike depending on your speed.
There're are two bathrooms, plenty of 5g signal since there is virtual tours.
Highly recommend and I'd go back there again.

I went to the Tall Trees Grove, Grove of the Titans, and many other smaller groves across the greater Redwood area and this is my favorite. There is a paved parking area and a nice bridge over Bald Hills Road to get to the grove. There are restrooms and interpretive signs as well. There are some very impressive trees here and a high concentration of Redwoods.
Zach Szablewski — Google review
Lovely walk through the Redwoods. Even though it had been raining off and on all week, the trail was passable. I love the untouched beauty of being in the Redwoods.
Jody Milholland (she/her) — Google review
An incredible trail not to be missed. Can be hiked by most as the trail is well maintained and not difficult. Amazing walk in the redwoods.

Easy hike with well maintained trails. Large old growth redwoods with easy access for less hard-core hikers. President Nixon did something good!
Timoteo Boldton — Google review
In my opinion, this is one of the most magical rainforests on earth. I came at the perfect time. Fog in this grove is wild.
This has been one of my favorite places since I was kid. I can't say enough about this beauty and the photos speak for themselves.
*The drive up to the grove is very steep and long for such an incline. My car did not like it much, so be warned. The parking lot is small and in high demand. I was lucky when I arrived at 10am, because it was almost full. When I left at noon, people were circling.
There are restrooms in the parking lot. The paths are wide, smooth and well maintained.
This is a short walk with a gentle slope/grade. Depending on your level of mobility, I would say this is pretty accessible compared to most outdoor parks of this sort.
**PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
This is a national park and prestine. Read the signs, follow the rules. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED!
Have some respect for this forest. And if you can't do that, I don't know why you're here, but do it for visitors who want an uninterrupted visit.
There are thousands of parks that allow dogs, go there. Dogs bark. Dogs poop. Dog dig holes and kick up dirt. Dogs pee. Dogs fight with other dogs if other disrespectal visitors are present. Owners are audibly scolding undisciplined dogs.
Leave your dogs at home or in the car.
Enjoy the time you visit, don't take it for granted. We don't know how long this will exist.
To wrap it up, I highly recommend anyone and everyone to venture off 101 and experience this magnificent wonder of the world. It's the best presentation of the redwoods that Northern California is known for.

I did this hike first thing during the morning and it was well worth it since you get to see it all by yourself and it only takes 30 minutes to an hour to see everything at your own pace! The hike was pretty easy and definitely worth visiting! Highly recommend it!
Blue Lake Casino & Hotel is a convenient lodging option that offers free Wi-Fi and an outdoor pool. In addition to the casino, there are several dining options available on site. RV parking is offered for free, but guests must spend money at the casino to take advantage of this deal and stays are limited to three days with no tent spaces available. The rooms are clean and spacious, with mini-suites featuring relaxing jacuzzi/tub/shower combos.
I never give 5 stars for a review ....but they deserve it. The floor cleaning staff is excellent, no smoking policy makes for a great atmosphere, the wait staff is really friendly and the slots are not locked down much! The place just looks clean..I worked in the hospitality business for years and preformed hundreds of inspections..if you want to know a facilities policies on cleanliness and customer service always check out the bathrooms first....first impressions.😀

I visited all 3 local casinos. This is the only one we go to now. Reasons are excellent customer service . Player club ..valets..servers bartenders etc go out of their way to assist you. The manager rocks and listens to any concerns you have. Its a very welcoming place with the exception of 1 snarky security guard (common in that line of work though) everyone is outstanding. we eat here once a week the food and service really good. Check out the sushi. Yum. The games are loose lately and I have been winning . I would love to see a slot tournament here and a couple of rooms set aside for people with pets or doggy day care. So many of us cant leave them at home. But overall this place feels good. Like home.

We had our wedding at the Sapphire Palace inside Blue Lake Casino and the Blue Lake Casino team did an amazing job! The group sales event manager Sabrina was amazing, she was very helpful, detailed, and accommodating. The venue was decorated very beautifully. They took care of the set up, tear down, catering, and bar. It was so nice to have everything in house, it really helped alleviate a lot of stress for me and my husband. It was also nice to be able to walk straight from our wedding to our hotel room at Blue Lake Casino (they just did renovations to their hotel and the new hotel rooms are very nice!) Thank you so much Blue Lake Casino for helping fulfill our vision for our special day!

We parked our RV here twice in the last 8 days. It was our first stop on the way to our vacation and our last stop in the way home. The front desk concierge was extremely polite and helpful. We drove our RV over to the lot and parked in a spot. The spots are tight not making much room for slide outs. If someone was parked next to us we would have not been able to use our slide our or open the door but there are plenty of spots so we didn’t need to be next to anyone. They did say they have security patrolling at night but just be aware that there is quite a few homeless that walk through the RV lot. However we did not have any issues. Overall would stay here again.

I've been to this casino twice, and came back because my first experience was so good. Now I've won more than I started with 2 out of 3 times at blackjack. Standard minimum bet is $5, and some mornings you can get a minimum bet as low as $1.
I don't play slots much and lost everything I planned to bet with on slots in about 5 minutes. Smoking is only allowed in a designated area with some slot machines, which is nice as someone who doesn't smoke.
The food has always been good. I had dinner twice, and the Sunday brunch buffet and it all tasted good. It wasn't cheap, but still worth it.
I may have gone in the off season, but the rooms were reasonably priced. They're always clean and everything was remodeled and you can tell. The TVs in the room let you connect from your phone, so you can stream anything you have on your phone.
They have a minifridge and a makeup stand. A microwave would've been nice. My two complaints are that the beds have super hard mattresses, and there's no fans for steam in the bathrooms.
If you plan to stay the night, bring earplugs to sleep with. Some people are up late and others are up early and you can hear it. Normal hotel stuff.
Matt G. — Google review
Great rooms and service. Wish it would have had free breakfast. $75 pet fee is high... most people charge $25-50... thought there was a view but there was not. For the price, I would probably go somewhere else... Oh and slots were not hitting according to others or me after losing $60...

The Blue Lake Casino Hotel in Northern California offers an exceptional experience for guests, starting with ample parking space that ensures convenience from the moment of arrival. Although I have not visited the casino, the front desk service is exemplary, providing a warm welcome and efficient check-in, setting the tone for a pleasant stay. Accommodations are comfortable and spacious, featuring quality beds that guarantee a good night’s sleep, and the bathrooms are modern, clean, and well-lit, enhancing overall comfort and satisfaction. From the cleanliness to the attentive service, this hotel clearly prioritizes guest comfort and satisfaction, making it a great choice for travelers in the area. Close to Eureka, CA.

Didn't stay but attempted dinner there tonight...Alice's restaurant closed without notice except printed sign saying lack of staff. Only option was overly fried chicken tenders, tots, fries, burger etc served in the bar only. Felt for the bartender, she was pouring drinks, taking food orders and running back & forth to the kitchen for fried food orders with smile on her face and kindness to the customers....what a let down for memorial weekend celebration days

The rooms were clean and newly renovated. Friendly and helpful staff. Both restaurants on site were delicious and prices were reasonable. Just a short drive off the 101, this was a great place to stay to enjoy activities from Eureka to Trinidad.

This is my second review! Because of the earthquake we wanted a hot meal, so we went to the Casino. We did not have electricity and had no idea when it would be restored, off to find a place for dinner. Alice's Restaurant in the Casino used to be our favorite place to eat. We have been in Texas for almost two years and apparently Alice's is under new management. Not only is this place way too costly it's food was unpleasant. We both ordered a hamburger and fries, both came cold and after asking for hamburger to be cooked thoroughly it was delivered medium rare. We told the waitress that we were not happy about this meal being so cold and she explained that it was just put up in the window, she did return the meals to the kitchen. Problem solved NO...We now had fries that were as crisp as potato chips. The bun was a bit warm, however, the hamburger was still 🥶 cold. We had watched the waitress conversing with other people and not paying attention to another couple who had asked for a check but had to wait over 20 minutes to receive it. After paying for a cup of coffee at $3 a cup we asked for another refill but one of the checkers had to bring it to us. Quite frankly people should never have to ask for a refill of coffee. Returning to this restaurant would be an embarrassment. If the waitress didn't like her tip too bad she got one dollar and ninety-cents more than the penny I wanted to leave her. Perhaps a ill cooked meal wasn't the waitresses fault but someone should manage this place better! I haven't been a person who leaves bad reviews but some times it is necessary.

The hotel part was was amazing. But the casino was a little sketchy. I got 21 in black and was busy celebrating and didn't realize till the next turn that I never got my chips. I told the lady and she just ignored me. I never had this happen to me at a casino. So unprofessional. Never gambling here again.

It's an RV parking area that you can stay the night at. Does have potable water but the dump station was padlocked. It would have been nice to use. Gas station is conveniently 100 yards away...which is nice.

Last minute decision to stay here, but it ended up being a good one. Room prices are reasonable, about the same or cheaper than the motel 6 or holiday express.. but so much nicer.
It's definitely a recommended stay. Casino, heated pool, hot tub. Good on-site restaurants are reasonably priced.

This is just a review of the casino not the hotel. It's quite large for a casino that is not located in Tahoe or Reno or Vegas. Lots of very new fun exciting slot machines. Also the old style which is also fun. Slots are looser than the casino about 30 miles South just off Highway 101. The people who wander around and offer drinks are quite nice. Extremely nice.

Stayed at Blue Lake Casino Hotel for a week. We've visited and stayed at a lot of casinos between Biloxi, MS and Reno, NV. Blue Lake Casino Hotel is by far the best! Every staff member we encountered whether at check in, walking through the hotel, or on the casino floor was incredibly friendly. The room was fantastic and spacious. Best sleep we've gotten while traveling. Ever! Very quiet in the hotel, never heard anyone coming or going. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for an amazing get away!

I started at the hotel. Very friendly staff, bed was amazing, veiw was amazing.
In shower vegan shampoo, conditioner and soap. I went to the restaurant inside the casino and got a burger that was so delicious I ate every bit in one setting and was so full I was asleep at 8pm didn't wake up until the next day which kind of was a bummer because I intended to gamble but it was some great sleep.

The security is not as bad as Bear River casino, it needs more food choices, but for the most part the staff is good. If you're going to see a concert, beware of the light show. They have lasers and bright lights in your eyes

Nice with lots of slots but none that paid me diddly. Good variety of background music no self serve drink stations gotta wait for servers to come around to get free coffee or soft drink or buy alcohol the bar is good sized with live music n dance floor on weekends. Players club card takes 3 tries before machine accepts it is a bit annoying.
Gas station / store next door tight slots there too but gas prices are competitive and save by paying cash.

I've been to a few casinos that were not much to write home about, so I didn't really have high expectations. That being said, we were very impressed with the room. It was one of the nicest hotel rooms we've stayed in. It looks newly remodeled and is very sleek and modern. The bed was spacious and comfortable and the room was nice and quiet. Only thing missing was a microwave. The staff was very friendly and we appreciated that they are dog friendly. Lots of slots to choose from and we had hours of fun playing. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was the restaurant service for breakfast. One of the worst service experiences. No bar tenders until 10 so if you want a bloody mary or such don't bother going until after then (a little shocking for a casino but okay). Our waitress was pretty bad though, and the woman that I'm assuming was the manager had to take care of us multiple times as we sat waiting for our waitress to quit dinking around. Food was bland and we ended up not eating a lot of it. We ate dinner at the same restaurant the night before and had good service and good food. So hopefully the restaurant can get their breakfast crew on the same page because it was bad.

Booked this last minute on a road trip and what a suprise. The rooms are spotless and had a nice high end feel for a decent price . The staff is super friendly and helpful. Got the freebies with their gambling card and absolutely had a blast. Note: the casino is split with 70% being non smoking which we really appreciated.

When it first opened I feel it was much better, but they've kept it pretty good fro the most part. I have had a few very bad experiences here though and that's why they don't get five stars from me. I will suggest that you lock your hotel room door with the top lock that no one can open from the outside because I've had them break into my room while I was sleeping and go through my stuff more than once. Ive also accidentally left my purse at the wave lounge after karaoke one night and they straight dumped it out and went through EVERYTHING, rather than just look for an ID and hold it for me. They are always trying to bust you for something, as in trying to find something illegal on you so be very aware. The security is always trying to get a promotion and /or a raise or something and they'll stop at nothing to get it including violate your constitutional rights even though they aren't supposed to do that even on a rancheria/reservation! And their food situation after 9 or 10 pm is completely absent now, whereas they used to have the Lily Pad Cafe which served great food and drinks 24/7. And I feel like they changed Alice's to where it kinda sucks now. They used to have buffets, like the lunch buffet which has the most beautiful salad bar and it had everything you could want. Then they had a dinner buffet too and it was pretty spectacular too?! I miss the way it was . The food was way better and you could choose what you wanted. Now it's only a small substandard menu with Cisco stuff rather than local fare, and the prices are a bit ridiculous for what you receive. Sunday is the only day that's worth going to in my opinion, but I haven't been in a few years because of the changes. They used to have the best karaoke, and slots, but they've made so many changes and took Away many of the paying machines so I go less frequently. The motel is even different but not necessarily better in my opinion. Still, they are nice rooms and the pool and hot tub are a plus. It's worth going at least once to see how you like it and make your own decision on how you feel about it. The beds are very comfortable and it's always very clean. Kid friendly. Not sure about pets. If you get a room on the north east side you can watch the sun rise and the moon rise. Definitely worth asking for a room facing that direction. Lots of different things to do in Blue Lake throughout the year and some great shows at the Sapphire Palace worth checking out. Would recommend to a friend. 4 out of 5 stars.

My husband and I are staying here right now. My husband just called the front desk at 1:30 a.m. to try and resolve an issue of ten drunk people outside our door having a party. Security came up and let them still hang out. We had to call two more times. All the while EMT's are trying to get in a room next door because one of their party friends is unresponsive. Security confirmed some of the people are not even staying here. We called down a fourth time and the security officer knocks on our door and yells at my husband for calling the front desk and says he will implement a 24-hour exclusion. Really!? We will be punished for trying to sleep at 2AM??? They didn't offer us another room or anything like that. They were not even trying to be nice to us. That is not how you treat your customers.
We will be speaking with the management in the morning. The wannabe security guard cannot even control his own emotions. DO NOT STAY HERE! PERIOD!

I am staying here right now. I just called the front desk at 1:30 a.m. to try and resolve an issue of ten drunk people outside our door having a party. Security came up and let them still hang out. I had to call two more times. All the while EMT's are trying to get in a room next door because one of their party friends is unresponsive. Security confirmed some of the people are not even staying here. I called down a fourth time and the security officer knocks on my door and yells at me for calling the front desk and says he will implement a 24-hour exclusion. What the hell is that? I will be speaking with the management in the morning. The wannabe security guard cannot even control his own emotions. The last guy I want handling security at my hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE! PERIOD!

The rooms are the best thing about this place. They are very clean with modern-day appliances and comfort. The restaurants leave much to be desired as its just fried food. The casino its self is small but well stocked with modern games. The down side is the absolutely disgusting cigarette smell its overwhelming and nasty.
The Mad River Grange is a beloved establishment that holds a special place in the hearts of many. It is renowned for its exceptional monthly pancake breakfasts, which are enjoyed by locals who have grown up attending these delightful events. In addition to this, the Grange now offers yoga classes three times a week, providing an opportunity for community members to engage in physical and mental well-being practices.
Love this place. Grew up enjoying their monthly pancake breakfasts. They now have yoga classes there and they had a holiday craft fair too! This is the best example of community really happening that I have experienced.
We rented the guest quarters for three days and received the full spa treatment. Everything was wonderful. The people are friendly and professional, the facilities are beautiful and well-maintained, and the studio apartment (with skylights and outdoor hot tub) made for a dream vacation. Located in a quiet and friendly town just 5 miles outside of Arcata. We spent the days hiking the redwoods and seeing the coastal towns, and were happy to come "home" to Chumayo. Highly recommended.

This place was amazing from booking, to payment. My girlfriend is a massage therapist and is crazy picky about her massages, and this is the first place in Humboldt that she said she'd go back to! Shout out to Leah 😊 I joined for a sauna after and again everything was just so well done. I will be highly be recommending them in the future

First time experiencing the sensory deprivation. After i was able to relax my entire body just released. It helped with my anxiety and it kind of reset my internal clock. For weeks I've been staying up till 3 or 5am. After this experience, ive been to bed by 11 and waking up well rested at a decent hour.
The staff is friendly and its a relaxing place.

Used to love this place. It has gotten pretty run down in the last year. As soon as i walked inside, I found a dog terd on the stairs that leads up to the guest room. Then, the room wasn't very clean. Sticky rings and crumbs on kitchen counter, dirty bathroom floor, used towel wadded up on bathroom shelf, crumbs in the chairs by the window, spots on the mirror, hair in the sink, and funny smell in the room. patio area had clothes and towels from previous guests, hot tub area was really unkempt and dirty. Felt like no one had cleaned in months.

Supper fun. Clean room. Lots of light and having access to a hot tub is super nice. My only objection is that the room felt sterile and needed an update from the 90's.

Fantastic people work here. The overnight accomidations will short circuit any mortal confusion life may dish out. In a life that is temporary , this is the kind of place you will not regret emersion. Get the massage, take the sauna or hot tub, and share the bliss whenever oppertunity lends itsself. This place is blussful.
A 400-acre park with riverfront camp sites & hiking trails through old-growth redwood groves.
This campsite is gorgeous. The sites are surrounded by large beautiful redwood trees and the Van Duzen river is close enough to hear from most sites. The river was crystal clear. Pete the State Park ranger lead an awesome fireside talk in the evening about the local wildlife. The bathrooms were clean and the sites had well maintained driveways and fire pits. The only thing that wasn't ideal is that it's close to the road and at night the cars could be loud. I felt like it was worth it.

Great location for checking out the redwoods and still being in driving distance to Fortuna and Eureka.
Be sure to get a spot on the river side of the loop, or you will have a LOT OF ROAD NOISE! We were close to the road, and it was not great for sleeping. We even had to pause our campfire chat a few times while trucks passed.
Spaces are close together, without any brush in between. You will make eye contact with your neighbors from time to time. Kinda awkward for those that go to the forest for some seclusion.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. Spent the last 5 days there for the first time with family. My place its self is great. The rangers.. not so much. We had multiple interactions with rude rangers talking back and shutting us up when trying to talk. They constantly asked our group to take hammocks and things hanging from the tress down.. that we’re not on our site!(not ours) When coming over they pulled somebody that knows very little English then told then rest of us to shutup. This is the last time we visit this beautiful place unfortunately due to the unprofessional rude staff.
Another add on.. their website isn’t very clear on how many cars you pay for and the fee they’ll charge you for extra cars when you enter.

Beautiful park, but too close to the highway for my comfort level with toddlers. We did however love the river just a short walk away! Wish we could have enjoyed the swimming hole but it was too cold! We loved the tall trees and the atmosphere. Campsites we’re spaced nicely away from other campers and they had nice fire pits for cooking on the fire. :-)

The majesty of the Redwoods is unparalleled. Close to the filming location of the iconic Star Wars scene, this gem of a campground feels secluded. Site 14 has a clear view of the Van Dusen River. The camp host and ranger at this campground were amazing as well. Showers are warm, but I suggest bringing extra quarters.

Still our favorite State Park to camp. I kind of like the logging trucks rolling past in the wee hours of the night. But, the hiking is great. Cheatham Grove is nearby. The river is there. And, it's a short drive into Fortuna, Ferndale and Eureka.

Truly a beautiful place. This campground is right off hwy 36 so if your camped on the side closest to the hwy it can be loud & busy at times. Flush toilets, showers, a visitor center (closed during our stay) There is a spot for swimming, trails to see the redwood and wildlife, lots of bird watching at the campsite.

Cool, small camp spot in the redwoods. Abuts to a beautiful shallow creek. Limited camp sites which may not all have great parking options. Good amenities including showers, clean restrooms and well-maintained camp sites. I would give 5 stars- but it's very close to a fairly busy hwy which can be noisy with large logging trucks and some intentionally annoying drivers. Still, worth a visit.

Quaint and beautiful area. Very cool trails and river with bridge. The sites are nice. Looks like site 20 might be the best. The only downside is that it's right next to the road, but it's only the few loud motorcycles that really make it bad.
Very clean, organized presentations. Lots of great items to view not only just about Bigfoot but of course an amazing collection of Bigfoot items.

Very cool little museum that mostly focuses on the history of the area with a room dedicated solely to Bigfoot info. Worth a quick visit if you're passing through.
Michael Garcia — Google review
I visited in 2018 and it was a dream come true. I've wanted to come to Willow Creek since I started reading about Bigfoot in the 80's as a child. The museum is small, the Bigfoot collection is one of the two rooms, but it is packed with artifacts, dioramas, and so many footprint casts! There is no admission cost, so be sure to spend some money in the gift shop.
Paul Juser — Google review
I expected so much more, but the dated exhibits were pretty minimal. The staff were really nice and friendly though. The town of Willow Creek needs to invest in this museum to make it much more interesting and to draw in more tourists.

We visited this place because of the Bigfoot display. It's great fun!
There are other local historic things that fascinate.
My dad was born nearby and it was interesting to see displays of things he and others had talked of when I was younger.
Small, worth the trip. Hope to visit when they have the blacksmith and other reenactments.

A HUGE disappointment. Went completely out of our way to go to this place. We were really looking forward to it. They only reason to go is you are already there.
The reason this isn’t a one star rating is because it’s free. If I would have had to pay to get in I would have been really upset.
The “Bigfoot room” has a number of interesting reads BUT nothing is more recent than 1974. The rest of the museum could just go, it’s completely irrelevant to anything. Massive gift shop expansion is needed.
The place is a pending goldmine. The real museum is the bigfoot exhibits, everything but the flood history should go. The “historic bigfoot” room can stay but the next room over needs a serious bigfoot update. Updates daily!
The gift shop should be bringing in a million dollars a year easy. Shirt styles were lame and mostly out of stock. Other Bigfoot items were lacking. Really had to stretch to buy something. Gift shops in other towns had much better bigfoot selections.
The wife and I severely considered moving to Willow Creek and buying this place. If you’re in town and looking for a T-shirt, I recommend the dispensary down the street.
What an amazing time! Went out with Pete on the North Fork of the Smith River and had the most electric rafting experience of my life. Myself and 3 of my friends went out and everyone had an amazing time. Pete is super approachable and a great guide. Our guide reached out to us a couple days before the trip to coordinate the plan. All his directions and instructions leading to the trip were very clear. This was the most beautiful river I have ever seen! So many waterfalls and turquoise blue water. We booked to raft the Cal Salmon, but due to unsafe water levels, our guide changed the plan to raft the Smith river which was twice as long and he didn’t raise the price on us. The lunch provided was extremely tasty as well.

Fantastic Experience!
This past April my family of 3 had an absolute blast with Pete at Six Rivers Rafting. I personally have been rafting several times and as for my 12 year old daughter’s first time on any river and it was one of the best experiences that I can recall. “Polite Pete” was not only kind and patient but gave clear instruction and guidance all day. He also occasionally graced us with his family friendly humor and witty remarks as well as explanations for the river’s many Class 3 features. The Trinity River is not only gorgeous but right there at the business site. No long drives and no waiting to launch. Gear up and get a solid safety training and we are on our way to a fun afternoon! Pete is extremely knowledgeable about the river and with over 20 years of experience guiding he is easy to trust. Without hesitation I highly recommend Six Rivers to anyone visiting or traveling along the 299 in northern California. I hope to return someday and make another great family memory.

I give a million thanks to our instructor, Coral. This was our first time rafting and she made this the best experience possible. Me and my family enjoyed learning all the names for every white water riffles we encountered aka “Hell’s Hole” 😆😆. The grapes they grew and their homemade salsa was to die for! It was so good my kids and I could not stop munching on it 😂. Overall, thank you SixRiverRafting and Coral for the best rafting experience ever. I would definitely come again~

We had a party of 4 go rafting with Aiden as our guide and we had tons of fun. He was super knowledgeable about the river and the area in general. He had good vibes and everyone was happy with the experience. Only one of us had ever gone rafting, so myself and two others were newbies. You'll be outfitted with all the gear you need and a nice lunch. It was a long day, but well worth it for the cost and experience.

We brought our men’s college soccer team for a team building day on the river and Pete and his crew couldn’t have provided a better experience. Our Guide Sophia added a lot to the experience as well. She was a lot of fun and a skillful raft pilot. I can’t say enough great things about our experience with 6 Rivers Rafting.

Everything was amazing. My 7-year thrived on the River. She felt safe and cared for by Matt our guide. We did a 1/2 day class III stretch. She paddled (in the flats), jumped off both rocks (shocked us all!), and even ate the snack he brought (the oranges, cherries, and homemade salsa was a hit with my picky eater!). Their gear was small enough to appropriately fit my petite girl, which made me feel good.
As a parent and not a rafter I was a little nervous but Matt made me feel quite at ease, he let me know what to expect and gave clear expectations for each rapid. I would highly recommend this crew for a family adventure - we’ll be back and 6 Rivers Rafting will be our go to company! Thanks again, Matt, we had a blast!!

My family and I had a blast on our first rafting experience. We booked the half day trip of Class 3 rafting and it was a lot of fun. Jem our guide made us look like pros. She's very knowledgeable and chill. She told us jokes and shared stories with us. Onica is such a sweetheart and encouraging. She jumped off the cliff with me!! (bucket list ✔️) and Will is the cool dude who can make a bomb hummus. The whole crew was a vibe and you can tell they love what they do. We're planning to come back again!
We LOVE Del Loma! As a couple who has done all kinds of camping - backpacking, car camping, tent camping, RV camping, you name it! - we were excited to try our first cabin experience at Del Loma. From the outside, Del Loma appears small, with just a storefront and a handful of RV sites - but drive into the RV park and you will see all the beauty that awaits. There are many sites and cabins to choose from, many amenities, and the river spot is gorgeous. We stayed in one of the larger cabins, and we were happy with everything provided. The bedding was very soft and new. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes, and cookware. The screened porch at the front was adorable (probably better suited for summer weather, though we enjoyed it all the same). The cabin was SO WARM, too! We highly recommend the cabins for a winter/cold weather camping experience. On top of the amenities, we were very impressed with the wide variety of drinks and snacks in the store. There is something for everyone. Can't wait to camp at Del Loma again this summer (and our dog can't wait to swim in the river again)!

We came here pretty last minute on a Sunday night during off season. The person who greeted us was so friendly and helpful. She made us feel very welcome despite our late arrival. We were informed we were the only ones in the whole park, which was fine by us. The park was kept clean, the restrooms/showers were well maintained and had plenty of hot water. Our RV spot was close to the river and we had a clearing to walk to a path to get to the river. It rained the whole time we were there but becuaee odnthe vast vegetation, we walked around very comfortably without getting drenched. We wished we could have stayed longer. Next time, we will.

Stayed in the Steelhead cabin for our first visit to the park. Comfy bed, great water pressure in the shower and great river access! I love the pride with which the camp managers showed us all of the new additions and plans for the future. Some friendly regulars to the park welcomed us at the pool and I have to admit to a new addiction to their soft serve machine! We’ll be back for a quick getaway in the sunshine and will never skip a chance to pop into the general store when passing by on 299. Thank you for a relaxing weekend!

We stayed here as an emergency stop after some car trouble. We were super grateful this place existed and we were able to stay here, but if we had booked this place and been looking forward to staying here, I think we would've been disappointed a little bit. Our campsite was incredibly close to the others around us. There was only one other tent camping group and they were a couple sites away so everything was fine, but if each site was booked then we would've been overcrowded. There were showers, the ones we saw were broken and there was a note to use the showers in a different part of the resort. There was a laundry room available which was nice but we didn't use it. Overall this would've been a wonderful place to stay if we had been in an RV or camper van, but tent camping here wasn't ideal. We stayed in Site A.

The place is an over priced dump . Mouse droppings in the silverware drawer. A crusty pan of tater tots left in the oven. The grime Behind the refrigerator that did not function upon arrival, so a lot of food we brought went to waste. You to can experience all of that and more at the Del Loma “RESORT” LMAO. For the low price of $4,000 a month. That’s right folks, without even blinking an eye, $4,000 a month I tell you. Come on down it’s a grand ole time.

Always a great family experience. The Trinity was high, fast and cold!
My wife, daughter (13 YOA) and I had a fantastic time rafting the Klamath River this past August with Redwoods and Rivers Rafting. Aaron (owner), Brian (guide) and lead assistant Clayton were incredibly professional and personable. The river was both exciting and challenging, but the team from R&R was up to the task. We had a thrilling adventure yet felt completely safe as well. Meals and sleeping arrangements were some of the best we've had during our rafting adventures over the last three summers. We had such a good time that my daughter is contemplating going back to spend a week at their river guide school. Couldn't be happier with our experience. Thank you, Aaron! You too, Brian!

So much thanks to Michael and Brian for an unforgettable rafting experience down the Trinity River. My granddaughter is 11 and has special needs so Michael set up a trip for just the 4 of us with special consideration for her. It was great with just enough white water for excitement. Our guide, Brian, was the best! His motto for the day was "whatever you want". He knew so much about the river, floral and fauna, and native cultures in the area that was a real plus. One of the best highlights was when he encouraged us to get into the river and float - such peace! An unexpected fire had ignited the night before our trip in the forest above Redwoods and Rivers. This would have caused concern if it had not been for the expertise of Michael and Brian which made us feel safe. They had to evacuate the next day! We would love to go back for another trip. This one couldn't have been better.

Red Woods River Rafting:
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an unforgettable adventure with Red Woods River Rafting, owned by Aaron. From start to finish, Aaron's hospitality made our trip truly exceptional.
Our group embarked on a dad adventure with kids, and it turned out to be an absolute blast. The kids couldn't have asked for a better time in their lives. Aaron went above and beyond to ensure their safety and entertainment throughout the entire rafting expedition.
What impressed me even more was the attention to detail when it came to the food and preparations. Aaron's culinary skills shone through, and every meal was a delicious treat. It was evident that he put a lot of thought and care into catering to our needs and preferences.
Red Woods River Rafting, under Aaron's guidance, provided an all-around fantastic experience. The combination of thrilling river rafting, warm hospitality, and mouthwatering meals made it a trip to remember. I highly recommend Red Woods River Rafting for anyone seeking an adventure that is both exciting and enjoyable for all ages.

Aaron, owner of Redwoods and Rivers, is competent and skilled. I felt safe and even took my elderly father and grandkids. We had nine passengers and Aaron masterfully guided us around rocks and debris. The setting on the Trinity River was stunning. Fall leaves were swirling in the breeze and making whirlpools in the water as we rafted. We even stopped along the river for lunch. I would highly recommend Redwoods and Rivers for any event or day trip. You will be glad you did!

Had an amazing trip, we arrived and the guys got us all ready with our gear and the guide Tom knew every ones names right away, impressive! when arrived at river Tom walked us through what we could expect and what to do if we should fall out of boat, he was very thorough and professional. We started out along the river and the view was amazing we talked rowed and talked more. Tom stopped at a spot where we were able to climb up rock and jump into water ( which was cold lol) but none the less worth it. we went down river awhile more then stopped for lunch and again amazed at how wonderful everything was, he had a table all the fixings for sandwichs, drinks and cookies at the end. he was an amazing host/guide. the rapids were awesome and due to Tom's knowledge of river we had an un forgettable time. i will recommend this to family and friends. There wasn't one thing that i found could be done better. i give them 5 stars and a huge Thank you. Great Job Guys keep up the good work!

I can't recommend this company enough! I'd give them 10 stars if I could, they were that good. We were able to book super last minute, after business hours the evening before we wanted to go, they were super friendly and accommodating over the phone, made it all very easy. The rafting itself was absolutely amazing. The guide, Mike, was a blast, had us laughing and joking the whole way. The views were stunning, the water was perfect and refreshing on a hot day, and the rapids were not too overwhelming for a complete novice. All in all it was just a great experience and I will be telling everyone I know about it and plan to bring all my friends and family to try it as well. If you want to raft the river, this is the company to go with, you will not be disappointed!

Riley was a great tour guide! He told us lots about the river's history, environment, and rafting experiences. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The experience itself was so fun. They had a great mixture of class 1-3 rapids. We also got to experience the water by jumping in and swimming around when available. We felt very safe and had a blast!
Dude who owns the place was chilling outside with his rifle next to him, waiting for customers. Very nice guy who gets to run the bar when and how he wants. They don't take cards but do have wifi and accept venmo. Very cool feeling establishment. This is a very remote place like nowhere else around. Only wifi within 40 miles!

Very unique stopping spot. The owner, friends, and locals put a lot of time and thought into the construction and decorations. Everything hanging in the bar has it's own story......Love that despite being off grid, the saloon has all the comforts because of the thought and care put into the solar system. Being self employed, We feel that it's important to stop and spend a few bucks at every back country establishment to help ensure they will still be there providing those essential services next time through. The couple of hours we spent there relaxing just made the afternoon! Well done guys!

Back in 1979 I was working in industrial reforestation, they were US Forest Service contacts. We stayed in Cecilville for about 3 months. There used to be a bunkhouse from the CCC days with a crude woodburning stove and wooden bunks. Cecilville was out in the middle of nowhere. It was hard work but good pay. I don't know who owned the place back then but they seemed like good people, showers food , water and beer were always available to accommodate laborers ...tree planting is hand planting , few even know it exists, it is one of the hardest jobs in the world...we killed scorpions and timber rattlesnakes quite often...it's like a blur because of how hard it is 7 days a week non-stop...you burn about 6000-8000 calories a day doing it...I miss Cecilville !

I started collecting Greg's pottery since the late 80's. Back then I couldn't afford to buy everything at once..lol but I decided everytime I went salmon fishing I would stop at Olsen Pottery. Today I have a 12 piece dinner set, vases, pie pans, coffee mugs and so much more. The quality is excellent and something that's hard to find these days. I'll be stopping by in a few weeks to see what's new in his shop. Greg has also done custom orders for me as well. Stop by on your way through Weaverville. This place is a hidden 💎

I have lost track of time but I would guess that our family has been been buying from Olson’s for nearly 15 years. It started as an annual gift from my grandma to my parents and has since spread into my household. We have had many custom pieces made and all of them have turned out better than expected.
Someone commented that these are high priced but high quality. My comment to that is that price is irrelevant when buying quality products! We are not gentle with our products and the only piece that has broken is my wife’s beloved “mom” coffee mug. We are on the third rendition now due to young flailing child hands :).
Highly recommend Olson’s and will definitely be buying more throughout the years.

We own many of the available prices from Olsons. There all Beautiful handcrafted life long works of art worthy of passing down from generation to generation. Working with the Olson family and their staff is also always a treat down to earth they love their customers and are so willing to serve and be creative with unique projects... like a 10 year anniversary gift. For me that was a set of mugs with the names of every member of our household that all hanging on a rack in our kitchen to remind us that we’re all family life is full and we’re all together. Thank you Greg and family.

It has been my dream to have a full set of dishes from Olsen’s since I was a child. I recently made that dream happen. I am in love with my dishes. Each piece is unique and beautifully hand crafted.

So much to browse! Prices are high, but the products seem to be of a high quality as well. A great place to get a one of a kind gift or souvenir. The selection of kids games and books is very good, and had a lot of unique things that I haven't seen elsewhere. The history of the place is interesting too. Plan to take your time to take in all the products in their relatively small space.

Now this! is keepsake quality. When you want something that will call to mind the season of life you were in or the one who gave it as a gift... shop here. Whether you are on a journey up the coast, or surfing online ... stop here. This is were generations of the pottery tradition are still celebrated. The techniques used require the skill of a master craftsman to produce functional ware that bring beauty and longevity to your table. Translation: you don't need to be afraid to use it and enjoy it! We'll be back for more.

Cool little store with locally made pieces. The staff was friendly, and I was happy to see that the stoneware is actually made locally, and not just bought like so many other boutique/gift stores do.
This should be a 6 star rated theater in a very small town. It obviously doesn't make a large income. Whoever owns and runs this theater is doing it for the joy of having it available for the people of Weaverville. 1st run movies!!! So thankful it's here! Be grateful and support it.

Nice old theater. Good prices and not overly crowded. Not much elbow room, but we enjoyed the movie and candy. Parked along the side of the building because I don't parallel park. Wasn't far to walk inside. My family will go again.

This place is a quaint little theater. If you have never been, you should. Its a good experience with friendly help. Probably the majority of the time there will only be a handful of people in there, almost a private showing. If you are over six foot you should sit near the end of the row or by the railing. Leg room is limited. Sound and picture were great. Prices are always steep at theaters. Enjoy the show!!

This is more than just a movie experience. My kids are growing up going to a theater their kids will one day marvel at.

I love this old time movie theater. If you live in #Redding or any where close to #Weaverville you owe it to yourself to visit this classic historic theater to see #NEWMOVIES The sound system and projector are all updated so the only thing historic are you surroundings. Make sure you eat before you go bc the snack bar is sparse. They offer pop corn, drinks, and some candy and that's it. I have begged them to at least offer micro waveable snacks that are pre packaged as I understand it can be pricey to send every employee to safe serve classes but they have no interest in improving in this area. It's cool. I still appreciate this little Mom and Pop theater. It has to be one if the very few remaining in #California

Weaverville Joss House State Historic Park is a hidden gem that offers a glimpse into the rich history of the Chinese community in Northern California. The temple, dating back to 1874, is adorned with 150-year-old donation ledgers and intricate lantern illustrations that tell stories from over a millennium ago. Visitors can experience the cultural significance of the temple through guided tours and immerse themselves in its still-active ambiance, complete with the fragrance of burning joss sticks.
This place is absolutely amazing! My husband and I were lucky enough to be there on a day where there was no one but us and we were there at opening, so the park employee gave us a personal tour - what a treat that was! A beautiful temple and a real must see, I highly recommend a visit to this one of a kind location.
Jennifer Cathy — Google review
Have a great time during the guided tour. Our guide is fun, knowledgeable and kind. Bring back so much memory when visiting this temple. Every illustration on the lantern is telling a story. One illustration is dating back 1200 years ago in Tang Dynasty. Do not feel like visiting a historic, distant-in-the-past building but feel connected and familiar, even it was built almost 150 years ago. Partly because the temple is still in use. Can smell the fragrance of joss sticks when entering the temple. Most Chinese characters (words) shown on banners and posters in the temple are written beautifully in calligraphy, an art requiring years of training and using writing brush and ink. Really impressed and overwhelmed by the cultural demonstrations in this temple.

I hate to be "that guy", but honestly, this place was a bit underwealming. Don't get me wrong, the temple is unique and has a very fascinating history, and aesthetically, it's the most beautiful one for sure, but it's very small, and there isn't a whole lot to see. I much prefer the one in Oroville. It may not be as aesthetically pleasing on the outside, but the interior is far more lavish, and it has more rooms and a massive museum with various artifacts and exhibits to explore. Also, you can walk around on your own without a guide, and you can walk right up to the main altar.
I must've visited the one in Oroville at least a dozen times, and I never get tired of it, because there is always something new to discover.
Don't get me wrong, having the guide is very ensightful, but I just don't understand the point of it being mandatory, when there isn't a whole lot to see here. And I feel it deters people from returning multiple times and also causes an inconvenience for people who are just passing through town, and don't have a lot of time. The temple should definitely be open for self-guided tours.
Really cool local museum focused on Trinity County. Definitely well organized. History nerds can easily spend a hald or even full day here.
Joseph D — Google review
A great little museum, and one of the best small town museums I've been to. The majority of its exhibits follow the history of the town from its roots as a mining community until the early 20th Century, with many rifles, mining equipment, antiques, and old machinery on display. They also have a ton of artifacts from the local Native Americans and the 19th Century Chinese miners, as well as a few display cases dedicated to local businesses and organizations, such as the Masons.
Besides the artifacts, the museum contains a ton of great information, mostly contained in large rotating racks alongside most of the display cases. Beyond the main space, there is an archive in the next room, a downstairs that contains many old pianos and other large artifacts, and two yards on the grounds outside that hold many of the old mining artifacts and equipment.
Overall, this place is definitely worth a stop while you're in Weaverville, especially since the Joss House remains closed due to COVID as of June 2021. Definitely recommend.
Jason Tomczak — Google review
This museum gave a good feel for the way of life for both early american pioneers and Chinese immigrants who established the city that exists today. There was a broad exhibit of artifacts including tools for gold mining, rocks representing the geology of the area, tincture bottles, clothes, medical devices, firefighter tools, photos of local citizens through the town's history, musical instruments (mostly pianos), a relocated jail cell, and more.

By far one of the best free museums I have visited throughout the country! Donations are appreciated but not required, but I was more than happy to leave one from the variety and unique items on display! Most small town museums have generic antiques and relics on display, but this museum has so much more, from an entire telegraph pole from the 1850s, to the original jail cells from the courthouse basement complete with art from inmates; and from weapons and clothing from famous robberies, to relics from the Great Chinese War of 1854 in Weaverville! The amount of history and education provided from this museum rivals some state and national museums! Truly a must-see when visiting Weaverville, or definitely worth the drive if visiting Redding, CA!

This place is super cute inside and out. They always have new art coming in, so there's always something new to see. Definitely, a place to stop by and check out if you're in Weaverville. And their cute pathways through the garden is also a nice place to sit and enjoy the view of the surroundings.

Impressive collection of local artists represented in this adorable building. Sometimes they offer exhibition themes out to the community, which gives a common thread to each piece, even in different mediums. Makes for more thought provoking exhibits!

Very fun stop in Weaverville! The staff were kind and welcoming. Younger kids are welcome, and the staff didn't seem concerned about them. There are definitely things on their eye level, and you'll want to watch them closely! The variety of styles and mediums of art on display when we stopped was very commendable, especially for the size and area. Heather Clark — Google review
As far as hikes go this one is ok. Its not that there is anything wrong with it per say, just that it is on the boring side. There is not much to see on the way in to the waterfall. This is one of the better looking waterfalls once you are there and the approach is from the lower falls all the way up to the top falls is worth the hike. It is mostly uphill on the way in so headed back out is quite a bit faster. This review is just for the Falls portion of the hike that is 1.5 miles long.
Ryan Voigtman — Google review
It was quite a drive to get to the trail and then a bit of a trek to the falls. But very much worth the climb. The falls were beautiful, even in the middle of summer. I highly recommend going to see these and keep climbing till you get to the double falls. They are gorgeous.

Super easy walk on paved trail to a beautiful little waterfall!
Searcy Martinez — Google review
Do yourself a favor and drive ALL THE WAY UP. Then do your 3 mile hike to the falls. Caution: very windy, narrow roads. You WILL think you've gone too far in the wrong direction, but keep going up. The trail itself gets wet from the falls, and is definitely not for novices or those with no agility - think climbing over slippery rocks. Definitely worth it in the end....

Whiskeytown Lake is a stunning body of water surrounded by magnificent mountains, creeks and waterfalls. It offers a plethora of activities such as boating, fishing and swimming. Camping at this location requires a permit, but there are many other areas to stop in for visitors who wish to do so at their own risk. Visitors are strongly urged to keep the place tidy. Swimming or kayaking in the lake is an amazing experience because the water temperature is just right and the scenery is breathtaking.

Whiskeytown lake is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. It is so peaceful there and hard to take your eyes off of every inch of the area. Everywhere you turn there there's something amazing to be discovered. The lookout point by The visitors center is also a great place to see how much already of the lake from one location. from what I understand there are tons of different locations to visit there at the lake that offer different views and scenes. There is a little bit of walking and order to get close to the lake but nothing unreasonable. I highly suggest visiting this specific lake. It would be a shame if anyone had come to Shasta County and did not take a trip to this location. The locals and travelers that have visited here have always had the same reaction of complete awe. Great place for kids as well and it is perfect for hot summer days. I often see people reading books by the lake as well as swimming. Just thinking about it makes me want to go there right now. Amazing beauty all throughout the area. It’s well kept, the rangers/volunteers are very nice and there is so much to do including affordable adventures. The parking pass is a bit of a pain if you sell your car as it’s a hard copy transfer system but they never give a hard copy. Seems funny for such a tree protected area to not accept digital with ID. No printer so i need to find a print shop. Still the lake and adventures around make up for it.

We drove up from the bay area to check out Lake Shasta, but Whiskeytown Lake stole the show! It's such a beautiful area! Even after the fires, there's still a beauty to it. The two waterfall hikes that are currently open are gorgeous (one is steep and strenuous, the other is wheelchair accessible and about 10 minutes along a paved, flat road)! We chilled on East Beach, which is a great place to swim, paddle board, etc! The water is COLD, perfect on a hot day! Highly recommended!

I love Whiskeytown Lake! I've been coming here my entire life, and I don't think I'll ever get over how pretty the lake is. I was so sad after the Carr Fire burned off all of the trees around the lake in 2018, but I'm so glad now that things are starting to grow back.
There used to be several telescopes you had to pay quarters to use, but now there is only one you don't have to pay for. Just don't look directly into the setting sun like my cousin did. 😂
The visitor center is also a cool place to check out, if it's open and you have time. There are a lot of fun little souvenirs you can get. I forget what time it opens, but I do remember it closes at 5 pm.
Attached to the visitor center with outside openings, there are also bathrooms here if you need. Those are always open.
Overall, whether you live in the Redding area or are just passing through, I highly recommend checking out the beauty of Whiskeytown Lake!

A well preserved place for gold rush era. Beautiful brick buildings demonstrate the heyday of Shasta. Courthouse museum is closed. It’s relaxed to explore this park by walking on the deck and trails and stop by the introduction signs at one’s pace.

Not much is left of Shasta. But the museum and ruins are interesting to see. Because it is so small I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. But if you are nearby it is definitely worth visiting. The entry to the museum is 3 dollars for an adult. The buildings are free to see for everyone

This historic park houses the remains of Shasta City, alive and bustling in the Gold Rush days, and now a ghost town with restored stagecoach, barn and courthouse.

It was raining the day we were there, but it was definitely worth the stop.

Small historic town which are mostly ruins. I applaud the people who committed on restoring these sites and the people who currently work and volunteer here. There are plenty of signage to learn the history of the buildings.

It's fun to get out and walk the trails and see the old buildings. We had our dog with us so we didn't go inside the museum. Maybe next time. Ifyou haven't been here It's worth a quick stop.
John Wiser — Google review
I've driven through it many times, but I visited only once when I was a kid, and this place is much cooler than I remembered it. You're actually able to walk amongst some of the ruins. Also, I happened to be there in mid-spring, and the place was blooming with poppies, which provided some amazing photo opportunities.
The courthouse museum was also very interesting and had more variety than I expected. The site is also home to the oldest Masonic lodge in CA.
The ruins are literally located right on the main road, and can be visited for free, so there is no reason to not stop here.

I'll never travel to Redding without this trip planner again
The Sundial Bridge is an iconic pedestrian overpass that spans the Sacramento River and resembles a cruise ship on land. Designed by famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in 2004, the bridge's glass deck offers spectacular views of the river and its surroundings. Lit up at night, the bridge's glass path provides an enchanting experience for visitors who enjoy peaceful walks in nature.
I loved this place! This is a nice place for peaceful walks surrounded by nature. The people is really polite and friendly in the Sundial Bridge shop and coffee as well. I was impressed about how much they are encouraging awareness 'avoiding fires in the forests.' Well done! Taking care of our planet is extremely important.

We had a really great time at the Sundial Bridge. Walking on the river walk, the Turtle Bay Museum and checking out the bridge which is very cool.
The Sacramento River has great trails with wildlife all around. The trail near the bridge includes a beautiful garden with educational stops for everyone.
The Turtle Bay Museum and it's grounds were fun for all of us, including my fifteen year old daughter. She interacted with birds in the Parrot House and butterflies, and zipped on the zip-line in the playground.
I'm sure her favorite part was the butterflies though, as we spent well over an hour in the butterfly house.
In the museum there was a hand on educational room that has really fun activities about prehistoric flying reptiles, Pterosaurs.
A whole room displaying replicas of the items discovered in King Tutankhamun.
Pretty fascinating.
There is a cafe that is currently being remodeled but Mosaic Restaurant was open.
If you are unfamiliar with reading it's very hot in the summer months and stays pretty warm until October. I recommend sunblock and if your heat sensitive the indoor part of the museum and Mosaic restaurants during the summer.
Otherwise visit early or in the evening I know they open at 9:00 a.m. the bridge and trails are always open but not all of the grounds.

Beautiful FREE nature and artsy area, connects with a separate parking area on the other side of the botanical garden that closes earlier, so if you want to stay later this is the side to go in at. I am here in the winter, & the sun went down early so I was able to get some nighttime shots. The restrooms are clean, the park was well-kept except I really wish the botanical garden had better signage, many plants had zero signs telling you what they are.

It's a great looking bridge in Redding, CA. Crosses the Sacramento river. It is a sundial bridge that gives time based on the sun position throughout the day. River is amazing matches well with the floor of the bride. Water is cold, but it definitely keeps you cool in these hot summer days.

I love taking evening strolls here, especially during sunset time. In the summer that is really the best time to walk my dog since the pavement can get too hot during the day. But the evening time is beautiful to see the sunsets over the water. The lights at the bridge are beautiful as well. There are many different paths to take that keeps my walking route interesting. There are usually people along these paths, especially on the bridge taking picture or in the area down below the bridge. The area down below next to the river is super cool, and helps to cool you down on hot days. I have encountered snakes on the path when it starts to get dark, so be careful and aware, especially with pets.

Beautiful scenery surrounding this incredible landmark. The scenes were elevated by the sun and warmth with the tips of the surrounding mountain range covered in snow! If just for a moment to breathe and enjoy being out and about, this is a must on anyone's Redding list when in the area! Let alone the incredible engineering of the bridge itself!

Great peaceful place 🙏 a big thanks to all the wonderful workers who make this place so clean and secure, it is really hard to find a clean place to have family time here in California. Homelessness is taking over in a lot of great outdoor places, so to see that you guys make sure is safe for families to come and enjoy is just highly appreciated 👏 keep up the good work, and I will be back to relax and enjoy the clean river and side big thanks!

1st time here just passing through town on a road trip but weather was nice enough for a stop. Easy parking & walked from the turtle bay river trail. Weekday afternoon & not crowded at all. Beautiful bridge for walking across. There was fishing boats under & looks like they were definitely having good luck catching. Blue skies with gorgeous clouds but overcast enough where I wasn’t able to see the actual sundial time. Very impressive bridge.

I would recommend going at night...But only if you can afford the somewhat steep $20 ( with a $5 discount for Turtle Bay Members) admission fee to the Glowing Wild event.
According to the flyer,
"Experience Glowing Wild Lantern Festival for the first time at the Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay Exploration park, featuring 10 acres of botanical gardens filled with larger-than-life Asian lantern displays inspired by wildlife and plants from around the world, great for all ages."
Although pretty amazing and colorful during the day...Apparently at night everything is lit up, hence the Glowing in the name. And about the only animal NOT on display was the raccoon...

The Sundial Bridge in Redding, California, is an architectural marvel and a serene escape. Its stunning design, combining functionality and aesthetics, offers a unique experience. The translucent walkway and the breathtaking view of the Sacramento River make it a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll or a memorable sunset. Surrounded by natural beauty, this bridge is a must-see attraction, a testament to human creativity and ingenuity.
Turtle Bay Exploration Park is a large natural history park that offers visitors a range of attractions, including a museum, botanical garden, and forest camp. While the museum may be on the smaller side and can typically be explored within an hour, the vast park requires several hours to fully explore. The playgrounds are great for children and feature zip lining activities. One of the highlights is feeding the lively parrots or lorekeets.
Amazing park and museum to spend few hours. Museum is quite small and can be done within an hour. The park is huge and takes couple of hours. The playgrounds are good for kids with zip lining and all. Lorekeets /parrots feeding is a blast and definitely do that

Edited: Nice place for kids to learn new things and explore...
Some things didn't seem correctly priced ... $3 for a stick to attract the butterflies... I saw better butterflies outside in the wild! We barely saw 10 simple butterflies that day... maybe it was the heat, it was 110°... Other people's reviews and pictures are 100x nicer than our experience. While it was so warm kids didn't want to play in the park. I'm sure they would have loved it if the heat wasn't as scorching.
The parrots seemed more worth the money... it was $2 for a nectar cup and parrots came straight to you when you get those cups.
The Tutankhamun exhibition was nice... it was scary for the little one though (3 year old, got scared of the animal figures) but the teenager loved it all.

Calling this lovely place a park is an understatement. It is more like an amusement park: a zoo, a museum, several hiking trails, a botanic garden (closed) as well as adventure-style playgrounds. A great place to learn and play with kids. This place is full of love and support from the community.

Took the Family to Turtle Bay Museum for the tree house exhibit. It was so much fun and so many activities to do. My kiddo made a binary bracelet with his initials, chalk art, dressed up in scientist and engineers clothing and got to play in the tree house. The marine exhibit and art gallery exhibit was amazing to view. Our favorite activity is to vote for what to see for future displays. After, we like to go walking to the nursery.

I let my assumption of it using the word turtle…that I would see more then 2.
Is this a cool thing to do with kids, yes.
Should you spend 4 hours here for your moneys worth, yes.
The cost is around the same amount I would pay for a zoo with 2x the animals. So I do think the price is a bit stiff.
The building itself didn’t have much animal wise to see. Thus assuming that’s the museum part? But it’s called Exploration park? Which the park (play grounds) is attached to the museum an only accessible via museum tickets. So it shouldn’t show up as a separate google maps pin an parents assume it’s just a park to go to.
That being said. The staff were all wonderful.
The animal show was cool. We loved that they walked the animals close by. Highly recommend if your child can sit for 35 mins an not move nor eat.
Bathrooms, ✔️
There are two play areas an unfortunately people do not know how to read signs. There was a family with larger teens throwing water bottles an jumping in the toddler baby section with their parents. Leaving the area unfortunately unsafe to let the little kids explore safety. There needs to either be a larger more obvious sign or a staff member.
The parrot feeding was super cool. Respect the staff an what they say. If you know your kids can’t handle direction don’t set them up for failure an walk them inside.
The map they give makes it seem like it’s massive an large when it’s really small an the font is hard to read. We missed tons due to time an unsure of where to go.

An excellent spot for families, ideally children.
The inside of the museum is focused on local history, such as the Wintu, Redding in the 20's, local biodiversity, etc.
There's a dedicated hands-on section in the back that's good for young kids.
The backside of the museum is the actual park and quite expansive. There's a sizeable playground for families and an area to interact with exotic and local birds.
Further down is a trail that extends for a mile or so and you can check out small caged areas for hawks or the bobcat.
Definitely an easy way to spend 90 minutes to get an idea of the area.
It's also common to find stray cats nearby as the locals pointed out that there's a gentleman who tends to them.

It was a very rainy day as I stopped by the museum to
visit the aquarium and the
local history exhibits.
The museum has a nice
exhibit on the Wintu tribe
that has lived in the area
for over thousand years.
You will find an exhibits
on the building of the
Sundial Bridge, an aquarium with beaver and fish, a
urban watershed river lab,
and local history.
It was raining too hard to
visit the other parts of the
park including a botanical
garden, arboretum, and
a forest camp with a parrot house.
I did stop at the bistro for
lunch and had a nice Asian
Chicken Salad.
Located on Sundial Bridge
Drive along the Sacramento

A nice place to spend a day
with a nice museum, bistro,
botanical garden, a old time
forest camp with animals,
and much more.

WaterWorks Park is an outdoor water park that operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day, offering a variety of pools and slides suitable for all ages. Situated on Market Street at Miracle Mile in Redding, it has been serving visitors since 1994. Although the park was smaller then, it still provided ample fun and entertainment for those who visited.
Love Redding Water park not too big or small just right size and so much different water rides and activities near by. The heat is hot and doesn't bother me much that's why there's a water park. My family had a blast and can't wait to come back. I recommend to rent a Cabana and is worth it because of the heat and comes in handy for the kids to take a nap.

It’s nice to have something like this in town for those hot days the kids need to get out and play. The membership prices are pretty expensive for what’s offered. The food prices are high for the quality. I also would have liked if the park was a little cleaner and kept up better. $28 per visit or $68 per season pass is kinda steep for the quality I think.

I had a season pass to WaterWorks Park throughout the Summer of 1994 when I was 12 Years Old (I'm currently 40). I lived just down Market street at the time & my friends & I would walk up Miracle Mile with our towels in hand,on our way to go down some slides. We had a blast,so much fun & so many memories. I no longer live in Redding anymore, I moved to Oregon in the late 90s & still live here today. I'm amazed that WWP is still open & operating today. It was a lot smaller back then but it didn't matter, there was still fun to be had. I'll never forget those days. 5/5!!

We come to the water park every year with our kids. The kids love the water slides and if your kid is under 48” they can ride tubing slides with an adult still if they are 42”. Just last year was the first time I rented a day bed that came with umbrella so you can have shade throughout the excruciating hot day with your kids - having your own shade is a total game changer! This is a great somewhat affordable option for you to have your own space with locker, ice water and someone to take your order and bring you food. I like to get one of the day beds by the wave pool so when you’re not feeling waiting in line to ride the slides the kids can play in the wave pool and be within eyesight. This year I got the same day bed but there was no umbrella…. Sorry but the flimsy shade that is attached to the day bed just doesn’t cut it. It doesn’t stay up and if you have a day bed that isn’t even close to a tree forget having any shade. Not worth it at this point. I brought up the day bed not having an umbrella to three different employees and they all said there aren’t replacing the umbrella because they break. OK… you should probably update the information on what comes with your daybed so people don’t expect to be able to have shade when you’re not going to fix the issue.

The water rides are fun and a good variety. It's not a huge water park, but it's great to have for us in Redding. Don't miss the cyclone ride, it's my favorite and great fun to ride with a friend/family. The wave pool has really good waves as well. Watch out for smaller kids around you though, the waves really get going. Enjoy yourself!

If you have a group with kids, invest in a cabana! So nice to have a secure place for our stuff, and it's a decent price during the week. Great time and the line for the Avalanche was so short, we went a ton!

Overall a good time was had, but there needs to be some safety updates. One of the water slides near the baby pool area has a massive part of damage at a place you hit at high speeds. It's extremely dangerous and needs to be repaired in a bad way. It has a literal huge hole in the concrete.
Also overall, the cabana we rented was filthy dirty and had a lot of broken furniture. The water jug they brought us for the day was filthy from other people's hands touching the spout where the water comes out. You'd think they would not want to spread covid with these things but it was clear none of this stuff is cleaned all summer. It was super gross. One of the more calm pools was so filthy we couldn't see our feet.
Our drinks had stuff floating in them, and the garlic fries are fries with a huge glob of minced garlic thrown on top. Will be skipping those next time.
We will come back because the life guards did their jobs well and stayed attentive. It was the end of the season, so maybe it's better at the start. Hopefully some of these things can be fixed for future visits.

Our first time at Waterworks Park was awesome. My kids are 13 and 9 and they had a blast all day. There's a younger kids area that was full of toddler and preschool age kids, a wave pool, fast slides, a not quite as fast slide, and two other attractions that were for the thrill seeker crowd. My favorite was the Lazy Lagoon. It's a windy shallow pool that has a light current that you can float along. We didn't make use of the snack shack, but I saw many burgers fries and hot dogs being ordered and eaten. I'll have to try it next time. The bathrooms had showers, I didn't use them but I did look at them closely to see how clean they were and they passed my inspection. The bathroom stalls were also in good order. The lifeguards were attentive, so I felt good letting my kids have the run of the place without having to be helicopter mom. I'm hoping we can go back one more time before summer is over.

The Win-River Resort & Casino is a laid-back event venue with clean and comfortable rooms, great food, reasonably priced drinks and seasoned bartenders. Guests can enjoy live entertainment, a golf course and a pool. The cafe bar offers cheap drinks and great people watching on weekend nights. The resort also has a nice hot tub and gym facilities for guests to use. However, some guests have expressed disappointment with the slot machines, wishing they were more generous in payouts.
The hotel employees excellent inevery aspect. Also the casino cashiers and floor personnel along with the food workers friendly and respectful. With the eye in the sky and security never felt more at ease in and out of the the casino. Thank you for a great time.

Drinks are reasonably priced and well made by all of the seasoned bartenders. Unfortunately, the slots don't like me as much as I like them. The rooms are good for the price but overall too smokey from the Casino. Even though rooms are all non-smoking, the smell carries through into the rooms. Tightest slots in the North-State by far. You are better off going to Rolling Hills, Thunder Valley, Sky River, or Cache creek. Not even joking as it would be worth the drive. Bonuses on slot play at Win-River is almost non-existent and you typically have to put in hundreds of dollars to experience them. Rooms are average as you would expect with a tiny proclaimed "resort." Food is decent for the price.
They have been going through approvals to build a new larger resort in Redding and have totally taken the fun out of the Gaming Experience for thier guest especially for their fixed income guest. All around you you hear how much people put into the machines with no payouts. This is not a place to sustain any length of playing time unless you have high limit pockets to keep feeding the games.
Just do better Win-River. All I have to say. Your long term elderly loyal players are the ones who are suffering from your establishment all while you cater to your high rollers. Don't forget who supported you in the begining.

The staff was amazing! Rooms were comfortable, and food was decent. We were there for a mini family reunion for people coming from Oregon as well as various places in California. Although Redding is not my favorite area, it was better access for the elder family members. My biggest complaint was the smoke coming from the casino into the hotel lobby since the doors separating it were broken. They tried to place air purifiers around to help reduce the odor, and it did help a bit. Parking was difficult since they were doing construction near the entrance. Overall, our time there was enjoyable.

Win-River Resort & Casino has a nice clean casino and hotel. Bonus on the hotel for not allowing smoking in that area. The casino it self had a lot of gambling games and tables to play. I enjoyed myself in the building. The hotel side was good. The bed sheets were clean and felt soft. The staff were helpful and pleasant.

I did not stay at hotel but we did play at the casino. The Casino was nice and clean, lots of games and friendly staff. All though the machines seemed super tight, the staff were great. Ed told me I was a beautiful lady and that was a win in my book!! Money and winnings don't replace great customer service.
Thanks Ed, truely a great employee and has excellent customer service skills! Keep it up!

We’ve stayed here 1-2 times a year for 10 years because our family lives nearby. We’ve always been pleased with our stay at Win River. This time was different. The staff was as pleasant and friendly as ever, but much else had changed. Our third day of a 5 night stay, we left the room at 11am, removed the do not disturb sign, and left to spend the day with family. We returned in the evening to find that our room had not been cleaned or resupplied. Mike at the front desk gave us the supplies we needed, and was so helpful.
We went to the Creekside restaurant for a nightcap and had to change our table 3 times for loud and intoxicated people almost falling on us. No security was present to control the situation. I understand that people want to have fun, but this was out of control. I don’t know that I will spend this much money on a room again just because it’s in close proximity to my family.
I do have to say that this makes me sad because we’ve always enjoyed our stays here.
Sincerely,
Karen Gibbs

This casino is so cheap! I get better free play offers from casinos I haven't been to in a year. You can lose $100,000 there one year and if you are out of town for two months, you lose your hosted status and most of your free play. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy on their part, because as they lower my free play, I go there less and less. Now that I don't get free rooms starting 8/1/23, I may stop going there altogether. If I want to gamble, it's well worth my time abd gas to go to Corning where they treat you better one on one and they at least make you feel welcome and appreciated while you lose your money. They also keep you well fed and not freezing and thirsty. The food and service at the restaurants at Win river isn't even in the same galaxy as rolling hills where there is a variety of great food and high rollers get more than a free pizza. The hosts at WR are okay - only one, Kathy (and Brian before her) is great. The hosts at Rolling Hills rock and their hands aren't tied.
If you want to feel welcome in a pleasant atmosphere - pass right by Win-River and go to the much classier Rolling Hills (or almost anywhere else).

Reasonable price for full hookups, pool, hot tub. Great security. Some shade at different times of day. Sites furthest to the back have the most shade. Trail behind but some homeless around. Morning walks ok. Small dog park. Mine didn’t care for it. All in all great spot for us to stay and go see Lassen NP.

Went for a fundraiser for Haven humane, Alice in wonderland themed. Had a blast donating and an amazing dinner. Full bar, wine, and fun. Check out the casino and hotel. Stay and play. Haven't stayed in the hotel yet since we're locals. Definitely look forward to it.

Stayed one night, visiting family in Redding. Nice room, bed was amazingly comfortable. Shower pressure was awesome. Front desk and housekeeping staff were very nice. Only annoying thing we didn’t like was the bathroom door slammed or auto-shut. Casino was fun for an hour - noticed not a lot of people playing at the tables but the slots were very popular. We did have a great time and price was right.

Went in for bingo, won, hit 200 on every slot I played(put it back in of course). I liked it. Nice big bingo hall with free drinks and food service. We had a pizza which was very good for 14$. Didn't go into the restaurant but it looked nice. We didn't explore much because hubby handicap but it had a good feel to it.

We stayed one night at the RV resort. Heading home to Washington from Death Valley. It’s easy to get to, nice facilities and a great price. Checked in, signed up for a players card and received $15 food vouchers. Restaurant was clean, yummy food and friendly service.

It’d be hard to believe this place would have a ventilation system as it is by far the most heinous cigarette smoke choked casino I have visited in my life and I’ve been in a bunch as I used to live near Reno! Even my friend who smokes says she can’t take it! I would like to play poker here but I can’t do it. I visited a couple weeks ago and saw they have a nice little poker room. I had lunch in the restaurant intending to do the poker tournament afterward but I just couldn’t deal with the smoke. I had to leave before the tournament began. While checking the place out I walked through the entire casino and looked to see who was smoking and maybe one-in-ten people were. It seems to me instead of a non-smoking wing they should have an ultra-ventilated smoking wing and the rest of the casino be non-smoking. As is, healthy, pink lunged individuals want nothing to do with this place and even some brown lunged ones at that. If they ever build the new place, God I hope they make the smokers smoke outside.

Excellent stay! The room was very nice, clean and modern. The food and service at the restaurant was great. We had a very nice server and the food came out quickly. The hotel staff were very pleasant.

This experience was very pleasant. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however they were clearly understaffed. Taking that into consideration, the service was exceptional. We weren't able to check in until 2 hours after we were told check in was because the rooms weren't ready, though.

Plenty of slots to choose from, I especially like playing caveman keno on the older machines. Free beverages consistently offered and available. Coffee, water, and various soda will be brought directly to your location in the casino. I liked being able to cash out my tickets with cashier's who roam the casino. Establishing a players card with free play was easy but the wait in line was about twenty minutes. Overall the best casino between corning and Redding.

Went for fight night tonight. Should’ve been common sense that you’ll need an ID present for these events but I had gotten ahead of myself out of excitement. We showed up and weren’t able to get in. After speaking with Sara explaining the circumstances of why I was waiting for my Id to come in the mail she has instructed me to shoot her an email. After, she had found me and given us gift cards to go eat at the restaurant. She is amazing and made our date night happen despite not being able to get in. Thank you Sara from the bottom of my heart!

Was a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed it all other than the excessive fragrance in the room and the bad coffee in the morning.
Would probably look for a diff hotel with at least good coffee. But the spa was nice. So it was good.
Modern Evangelist church & school featuring lively weekend services with devotional music.
I am so thankful for Bethel church. I am especially grateful for the humility and love modeled by senior leadership as well as courageous leadership. It is great to be part of a church that loves Jesus, honors the bible and encourages faith. It is not hard to believe that the creator of the universe is well able and willing to heal today! It's also not surprising to me that the church is heavily criticized....I am yet to see any ministry that is truly having an impact not come under fire! Thank you Bethel church, I am so grateful for your witness and your courage.

They have wonderful choirs. Or let me say I love their choirs. So if you love quality worship, I recommend this place.
People seem friendly. I was standing, someone walked up to me and found me a seat, it might be protocol, it worth acknowledging.
The people sitting around me are friendly and warm.
There are several interesting events they announce that one can attend.
It is advisable to be there in time because of parking. Sure, they have enough parking space. However, if you don't want to be too far from the entrance, then be on time.
The message was simple and works for all levels of believers. I am sure they will have Bible study days, but I do not know.
Above all, God's presence was awesome.

As I entered through the doors, even in the church foyer, I could tangibly feel God's Spirit!
Inviting people, awesome worshipping - creating the opportunity for people to worship DEEP and in the Spirit!
Great, powerful and challenging message.
Will love to come again and bring my family.

Lively, personal, loving congregation who aren't afraid to interact with each other! Great sermon. Lots of young people excited in their faith? This was our view sitting outside!

This church is not just a church…it is a place where the presence of the Lord dwells. You just have to experience it for yourself. So grateful for the way God moves here and the amazing people who work and serve at Bethel. Hope to get to visit here again one day! Incredible place with beautiful views of the mountains and hills. The house of prayer and the beautiful gardens and waterfalls are peaceful and just walking around anywhere on the campus is so beautiful. 🥹🤩😍😍😍

I live in the Redding area and have attended Bethel church many times. I’m pretty much home bound today but I love Bethel Church and appreciate them and the witness they are for The Gospel of The LORD Jesus. Glory to God!

I went to their Worship School in July. It was nothing short of amazing! God showed up and spoke in so many ways. Being there felt like being home. It felt like family. All I can say is that Bethel, their leadership, and all their teams truly love the Lord and His word. I encourage everyone to make a trip to see and understand the genuineness of this place.

Women pastors? Does not align with scripture. My daughter said this a cult - read counterfeit kingdom book. Jesus loves you and wants a Bible based church for you. Calvary Chapel teaches the word.

Amazing. Such a great experience. A place where you can truly feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. Such a cool community of believers that encourage and pray for each other. Really special to have a prophetic word prayed over my child and the staff write it down for the family to continue praying over my kid.

Drove up from near Sacramento, picking up a friend from Chico, to hear Argentinian Pastor Claudio Friedzon for their Sunday evening service. I was disappointed to discover that he wasn't speaking.
I had forgotten that Bethel usually doesn't announce who their Sunday night speaker is. Their goal is to prepare people more for an encounter with the Lord instead of with a famous personality.
The guest speaking couple were humble and visibly touched by God's Presence! I don't know what to say....
Wow! WOW!! W O W 💝 ❣️ ‼️ The worship ushered in the LORD'S PRESENCE--IT WAS OFF THE CHARTS GLORIOUS 💥 🔥 ❤️🔥 ✨️...mere words fail to do it justice...
unbelievable⚡️.

Each visit to Bethel invariably deepens my understanding and appreciation of the truths about my identity as shaped by divine intention and the inherent goodness of God. This place has consistently provided me with profound spiritual insights and has never failed to meet my expectations. Approaching each visit with an open mind and a desire for an enriching experience, I have consistently found what I was seeking. The environment fosters a deep connection to spiritual teachings and personal growth, ensuring that every encounter is both meaningful and transformative. The consistent satisfaction with my time spent here underscores the value and impact of the experiences Bethel facilitates.

Not sure why other Christians give this church bad reviews. I moved to Redding recently and having read Bill Johnson’s book “When Heaven Invades Earth” I wanted to give this church a try. If had had read the reviews and have been persuaded otherwise I would have missed out on confirmation the Holy Spirit gave me while I was here.
Bill Johnson is a blessed man of God and the sermon hit home. I would recommend this church to anyone. However please know that they have an overflow room. This church does get packed. I felt like I was at a concert. I got there 5 mins. before service started. It was hard to find seating and then was told by the ushers that the 3rd row had 8 empty seats. Praise be to God for the open seats! Would definitely go back again.
This church you may or may not want to make your home church for the reasons being that it gets crowded, and there are lots of conferences which are directed towards leadership skills as opposed to a normal church.

Attended Open Heavens conference and was thoroughly blessed. Real people seeking after God and full of His love sharing it with others. Bethel is our home away from home. People giving their heart and soul to make a difference in a world that is lost and in need of God’s saving grace and salvation. Love you Pastor Bill and all your family faithfully serving the Lord here at Bethel. Side note, there is a cost for the conferences, well worth the investment into my spiritual life.

I attended this church for a one time visit. 45 minutes was all worship. It was really good worship although some songs are questionable. My main concern is the fact that I didn’t hear ANY teachings directly from the Bible. No scriptures not a verse nothing for 2 hours of talking. All I heard was the pastor talking about his childhood. He began the service with odd prophecies. He would say someone had dream of this and asked them to stand up. Only two out of like five times did someone actually stand up. When they did he would say something that would be pretty obvious in any Christian’s life that would happen. I’m non-denominational. But the tricky thing is when a church says they are non-denominational they can teach anything they want even if it’s not from the Bible. Their book store has a whole shelf of supernatural books. You know where ghost come from? The devil…
Don’t go if you are a first time church goer. You’ll get easily sucked into lukewarm Christian teachings(half truth half lie)
