Public swimming pool
Nature & Parks
Outdoor pool for year-round use, with a water slide, volleyball, basketball & more, plus a hot tub.
We travel with our RV from Fort Collins (about 5 hours) to visit this pool. We’ve visited 3 times in the past 4 years for Spring Break. The views are so pretty!
The staff is really friendly. The campgrounds are kept neat, and the restrooms are clean and well stocked.
The pool is great! When we visited, the temperature ranged from just above freezing in the morning to the 50s at the peak of the day. The water temperature varies depending on how close you are to where it fills, but there isn’t a cold spot in the pool. There’s a baby pool for the little ones, and the big pool goes from 3ft to a deep end with diving boards. The ladies showers were completely clean.
There’s free air to fill your inflatables for the pool. The kids love the snack/gift shop, and you can rent water toys if you don’t bring your own.
The grille has a great variety of really yummy foods.

Loved it. Not easy to find but once there didn't want to leave. Not crowded at all. Good water temp. Very nice people working there. Didn't know about the tubs and bar in the greenhouses until we were dressed and leaving. Would have spent time in the greenhouses. Just a fun time!!

Been coming here for years; absolutely love swimming, soaking, eating and feeling like family. Everyone is exemplary in what they do; Chef Lo, the greenhouse crew and the front desk team's are just pleasures & treasures creating an environment where everyone is welcome and smiled upon. Cheers.

Our first time here ever on Father’s Day. The people who was at front gate not only had major attitudes, they shouldn’t have allowed any other guests to come in while there was a father looking for his missing child. Apparently the father had been looking for his missing son for over an hour when they discovered his body at the 10 feet deep end of the pool.
This place should have had a life guard on duty. I get that there are signs everywhere stating there are no life guards on duty. However, as soon as the father asked for help of his missing son, they should have told everyone to get out of the pool immediately, and not let anyone else entered the premises. That was not done after us being there for 40 minutes. My family and I wasn’t in the pool yet, because we were still prepping all 3 kids. If we had seen the boy jump in the deep end, we would have been able to save his life. We witnessed everything and it is the most horrific scene my family and I ever witnessed.
One guest started performing CPR, because the employees who work there didn’t have a clue on what to do. This tragic event could have been prevented in so many levels had this place have the proper protocols.
Also, the first responders took forever to get to this location on top of that.
I called the next day to see if they were open for business after this tragedy, and they were. I guess this place do not care that a child lost his life in their facility. I feel bad for the families of this 14 year old boy. May his soul rest in peace.
If you’re planning on visiting here, be mindful of your children even if they are able swim. Do not leave your children unattended by going to the adult side. Always keep an eye on your children even if they are a teen and able to swim. Keep in mind that this place do not have proper procedures in place if tragic events ever occur.

This is one of our favorite (semi hidden) spots. Many people don't know about the incredible le 10000 square foot 21 and over greenhouse. So, you might believe it's a giant outdoor pool for kids...it can be, but the greenhouse is where we go to relax and hang, have a beer or wine and eat great food. They do an amazing job and the staff and people you meet are always relaxed and happy. We have campped many times, but have never stayed in the cabins, so I can't really speak to that aspect. Nonetheless, it always seems to just get better and better. I hope you enjoy as much a we do.

We stayed here halfway through our Colorado road trip. Loved this place. So quiet. We stayed in a cabin which was very comfortable. I was worried about being cold but the cabin was extremely cozy. The sunrise was amazing. We all loved the pool center and the restaurant was great. Customer service was out of this world. Justin was particularly helpful and went above and beyond to provide great service. For breakfast I highly recommend driving over to The Hooper Junction & Ruby Rose Bakery / Cafe. About 7 min drive. Great place. I definitely recommend a stay here.

We stayed three nights in our pop up camper here while exploring Great Sand Dunes National Park. Nice facilities for camping, clean restrooms and laundry facilities. They also have a well stocked gift shop and boards for the dunes you can rent on site. The hot spring fed pools were a great way to relax after a morning of exploring the Dunes. The Greenhouse was great if you want a little quieter atmosphere (21+) out of the wind. Awesome atmosphere with all the plants, plus the food and drinks at both pool side areas were tasty. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

This was our first time here and our kids’ first time to a hot spring. It was so great! The cafe had a great selection and wonderful food. The gift shop was amazing. The pool was LOVELY. You could rent anything you needed—towels, goggles, life jackets, anything. It was just such a wonderful time. The staff were amazing. I think, even though we live a couple hours away, we will get an annual pass next year. We will definitely go again.
Jessica Lee — Google review
Great staff! There is a great selection of items at the gift shop with reasonable prices. The food offered at the concession was fantastic! Plenty of drink options too. I love this place. The staff are very professional and I appreciated the great service and understanding. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

This is a nice oasis in the middle of the valley, right by the Sand Dunes. I went directly to the "Greenhouse," which is for adults only. The ambience of the plants and the pools were really nice.
If they were to improve, I would advise adding lockers for the adults area, and expanding the restrooms area if possible, by adding additional showers. The existing restrooms could be pretty cramped with multiple people at once.
Justin Saxfield — Google review
The water was disgusting and dirty. We literally got in and out within 5 minutes due to hair and other stuff floating around in the water. The pools definitely need to be cleaned more than once a week. Some people don't even shower before getting in. Definitely won't return, a total waste of time, money and gas.
Crissy Garcia — Google review
Pros: Pool is cozy and warm. Awesome food options. Gift shop is expansive.
Cons: I had to dry camp which was really far walk from everything. The pool was super crowded to the point you couldn't move without getting knocked or hit by a pool ball. I was looking forward to showering but they nickel and dime you. Quarters were needed for a 6 minutes shower and to go into the pool. It's also 30 minutes from sand dunes.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds that I have stayed at! Check-in and check-out was easy, and the amenities were amazing for the price. We really enjoyed the close proximity to the National Park, but the facilities were perfect to unwind throughout the evening. The heated pools, bar, and convenience shop made the stay excellent. Definitely check out the greenhouse bar and hot springs if you stay! The facilities were clean and well-maintained throughout our stay. We would definitely come here again.
Hailey C. — Google review
We went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. The customer service was beyond our expectations. Justin and staff were so nice and hospitable. The grounds were clean and well maintained. My only reason for the 4 stars in the rooms category is because of the water and bathroom access. The cabin had a foot pump with very minimal water and a port a potty outside. We will go back and bring the family. Thank you for a great time.
Charlie Mitchell — Google review
The Green House is the BEST! We had the most fun and relaxing day here. It’s an adults-only enclosed area with 5 pools/tubs of varying temperatures of natural hot springs water. The hottest tub was around 111* and is called “coffin”. Then, you can cool off in the other various pools. We went in the middle of the winter, and spent all day here. They have a restaurant and a bar with a lot of variety in food and drink. On the grounds they also have a family friendly outdoor pool, snack bar, gift shop and golf simulators. It’s welcoming to tourists and locals alike. I hope to go back again someday!
Ashley H — Google review
I was SHOCKED by this place! We stayed in the dry spots in our camper and could not believe the amenities for such a cheap price. (Please don’t change🤪) This is a true hidden gem. My husband and I enjoyed hanging out in the Greenhouse the entire time. This little oasis had fantastic food and drinks! I cannot wait to go back. Such a relaxing spot!
Lauren Lyons — Google review
A fun place with warm pools. It was a very windy day when we went so maybe it would have been better on a nicer day. The adult area is beautiful but the pools were not clean at all. Probably wouldn't go back but it was fun once.
Natalie Acheson — Google review
21+ greenhouse was awesome to escape all the kids in the main pool. Friday AM is the best time to go as they clean the pools weekly on Thursdays. I’ll be dreaming about the steak medallions with bone marrow compote butter for some time
Boondocking across the street is the way to go. Cheaper, no reservations needed, and still have access to the amenities(and discount) for staying across the street. Just be smart and turn around in the employee entrance parking lot if you have a big rig to drive in the tiny gate.
Sarah Wood — Google review
My friends and I chose this campground because we wanted to be close to the Sand Dunes while still having some amenities. While the location can't be beat, basically everything else was a letdown. Staff was unhelpful, showers were gross, campsites were way too close together, and they were constantly running out of firewood and ice despite the campground not being at full capacity.
At check-in, the staff was unnecessarily rude and unhelpful. We'd booked two campsites well in advanced, but we had been placed in Sites 2 and 4. No one was in 3 yet, so we asked the front desk if we could switch to 2 and 3 or 3 and 4. The staff said that would be "impossible, because everything is booked". When we pointed out that we had not been informed of our campsite in advance and therefore a switch would not even be noticed, they insisted on calling the guests scheduled for site 3. Of course, these people didn't mind and we got to stay at adjacent sites, but the staff made this much more difficult than seemed necessary.
After check-in, things did not get much better. We (and other campers) had been counting on ice and firewood being available, and they were constantly running out. The campground wasn't even full, so I don't know how they managed to not order enough supplies.
The shower house was literally the main reason we picked this campground, and it was a huge letdown. Two showers for something like 50 people meant long lines, and they clearly weren't being cleaned often enough. They advertise more showers available at the pool house, but that isn't open until 10 in the morning.
Finally, this is just a poorly designed campground. The sites are closer together than even the biggest, most corporate, national park campground, to the point where our tents were <10 feet from strangers. Also, the ground in the tent areas is really hard, driving stakes was almost impossible. The lighting on the pool house, shower house, and around the campground was poorly aimed and way too bright, making sleep difficult.
I'm sure this is a fine place to stay in an RV or a cabin, but I'd highly recommend tent campers stay elsewhere.
Danny Havelick — Google review
Nice pool! There is a small creek that runs through the property you can play in. There is a 21+ area, the Greenhouse. Since this was a trip away from the kiddo the Greenhouse was a great escape. 3 smaller pools and one long area for larger groups. If you are in the area definitely stop by!
Kalena Popson — Google review
What a gem! The staff here are incredibly pleasant and attentive. We stayed in one of their 'glamping' cabins and it was really a great value. I was surprised to see how many hot springs options they provided, and the adult lounge was just the place for the two of us to unwind after a long day of hiking and sand sledding. The food was also fantastic (both kitchens). I would stay here again and can't recommend it highly enough.
Thomas Healy — Google review
The hot springs are amazing especially the green house. There's several very hot pools along with a larger pool that's a little cooler. The food at Steel Box cafe is always delicious and they have a nice selection of adult beverages.
The only down side is not related to the hot springs
When I made overnight reservations, I said it was for 4 adults. They said that cabin 3 sleeps 4 and no mention that meant 2 adults and 2 children A bunk bed full on the bottom twin on the top. At the slightest movement the bed creeked making it impossible to sleep.I hope that this will be improved in the future.
The staff is nice and the hot springs are clean. If you book cabin #3 bring a cot and ear plugs.
D Valentine — Google review
I really wouldn't recommend anyone coming here anymore, not only has this gem been discovered, but they only clean the greenhouse pools once a week. Best believe 9/10 you'll see knots of hair, floating flakes of other people's skin, and food crumbs. Best of luck to anyone going there anytime soon
Suffix81 21 — Google review
We were here to enjoy the hot springs. We opted to pay the extra to go to the adult section (greenhouse) to stay away from the bigger crowds with kids.
The greenhouse has a bar and had a lounge vibe to it between the decor and music playing in the background.
Some of the smaller pools were a bit packed, but the bigger pool was open enough to enjoy a good soaking.
PS: They also have a sauna. And they rent/sell towels too.
Miguel W — Google review
A true diamond in the rough. In my opinion some of the best food in the area also. Pools are clean and staff is super friendly. We LOVE this place!
Chris Garrett — Google review
I can’t say enough about our experience with Sand Dunes rec. Everyone on their staff was so nice, from reservations to bartenders. We camped with friends in the full hook up Rv sites for two nights. Visited the sand dunes and monte vista wildlife reserve while we were there.
We loved the greenhouse, adult only area. It was lush and green, warm and relaxing with a dry sauna as well! The FOOD! We read the other reviews and they aren’t lying. It was delicious, all of it, we tried a bunch of menu items. Just throw a dart at it, but maybe aim at the tuna. Unbelievable! We are putting this in our list for regular hot springs spots. Feel like maybe I shouldn’t tell folks about it, it was that good.
Anika Zappe — Google review
Amazing location and nice facility, and kids have fun here, but beware. The groundsperson, part of the owners family, threatened me, and he is clearly dangerous. The food was good, but the kids at the restaurant are rude to tourists. The pool is a great temperature and huge and fun, but it's not clean. The campground and cabins are clean and well kept, but there are only two toilets and showers serving up to 100 people. We've been many times and won't be back after the last experience. Tourists beware.

We stopped here on our way back to Denver from Taos and loved it!! It is such a neat concept and was very relaxing. The pools are all different temps and loved the sauna & lounge chairs. We tried the crab cake & tuna and they were both delicious ! The only downside is the bathroom is small for changing, so come wearing your suit or pack light.
Wildlife park on a fish farm with albino alligators, crocs & snakes, plus gator-wrestling lessons.
You would think the only good gator parks in the US would be in Florida, but not the case at all! Our family visited a great Gator park in Florida two years ago and had a blast, BUT, this park here in our home state of Colorado DEFINITELY measured up, and was actually MORE interactive than the one we visited in Florida.
We stopped by this park on our way home from our Spring Break vacation in Pagosa Springs.
My kids were fascinated and thrilled by the opportunity to hold a variety of snakes, feed tortoises, and take a picture with a baby alligator. Of course, there were PLENTY of adult size gators of all sizes and ages that we got to see and even feed as well. The bucket of food for the gators is only a couple of dollars, but you can get one for free by bringing in a coupon found in a brochure at nearby hotels.
The staff knows what they are talking about and went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure our family had a truly interactive and enjoyable experience!
As a child of the 90's it was a major thrill for me to see the famous gator featured in Happy Gilmore. His name is Morris, and he has his OWN large enclosure where he can roam freely and enjoy his retirement from decades in film and TV industry.
Again, a GREAT EXPERIENCE!
Aman Chabra — Google review
This place is wild! It's $20 to get in but it's definitely worth it! There are so many awesome animals and you can get pretty close to some of them! Lots of tortoises walking around and some fish you can feed. The signage is really funny and just adds to the experience. We went pretty close to after it opened so it wasn't busy or crowded. Super unique experience, I would definitely recommend checking it out!
Jillian Hesse — Google review
This place is super cool! They unfortunately just had a tragic fire, so we didn't get to see any snakes, so we'll definitely come back for that when they finish renovations. It's a little expensive, but I was happy to pay the price to help them with their renovations. Everyone who works here is super friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely will return.
Tassja Stephens — Google review
It was an interesting experience. Personally I’m not a fan of crocs but it was worth checking it out while in the area.
It would help if the signage was better, maybe even somewhat interactive.
We did get to hold a young alligator, kids got a “certificate” hole punched by its teeth 🙈
PS also we have never seen such giant mallards, they were the size of Canada geese! (Hard to tell from the photo though)
Aiman M — Google review
This place was SO COOL! I am in total disbelief that such an interesting and unusual place exists in the mountains or Colorado. You get a VERY up close and personal experience at the park. The staff is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic - they really went above and beyond to make sure my questions were answered. The alligators are gigantic. There are tons of turtles roaming around freely, a few exotic birds, and tons of snakes and lizards (don’t worry, those are behind glass). The whole thing is really jaw dropping! I’m so glad I got to mark this place off my bucket list, but I’ll be back. Amazing!
Taylor Leigh Fraser — Google review
An awesome place to spend a couple of hours. Price seemed a bit steep at first but was worth every penny. They do an awesome job taking care of their animals. Sad to see they have to "rescue" so many reptiles from people who should never have owned them in the first place.
Definitely the worth the visit!
R K — Google review
This is a must see! Very educational and they should charge more! How they filter the water from the plants and re-use it is amazing! My grandkids thought this was the best part of our trip!
Michelle Ohnemus — Google review
What a fun spot to look at all the gators. They have other animals as well… tortoises, emus, snacks, a shark and many other things. Easy going place that the kids loved. We stayed 30-40 minutes & was very entertained!
Laura Fadenrecht — Google review
Fantastic experience! We got greeted by the cutest cats and friendly workers who gave us a bucket of gator food to feed all the alligators in the park. They had rescue emus, turtles, and even some sharks! The best part was holding a baby alligator 🐊 Special shout out to the helpful worker who saved my bracelet from a gator filled pond! ❤️ You can tell the staff really enjoy what they do!
Abby Bounds — Google review
We loved this place! We were greeted by such friendly tortoises who loved the lettuce and the petting. Then to the snakes, monitors, etc, then over to the tilapia tanks where we tossed our handful of feed and watched them resembling more like piranha in the feeding. Then over to the alligators, crocodiles and more. I highly encourage all to go and support this wonderful venture. Review written by the writer of Last of the Knowers.
ROGER BROWNING — Google review
Worth the stop. We really enjoyed getting to see all the different reptiles. My daughter's and wife were quite fond of the tortoises. I loved the plants and Gators. The emus were really fun too. If you're considering coming here do yourself a favor and do it. You won't be disappointed.

Our family had a fantastic time here. TONS of gators, turtles and other reptiles. Really friendly folks, too. Well worth the trip and cost of admission.

This was our 2nd visit.
We enjoy feeding (throwing handfuls of purchased chow into the water) the Gators & they always have a few smaller Gators on rotation for visitors to hold and learn about up close.
Cute emu's from an abandoned rescue also live here as do a variety of ducks & awesome turtles & tortoises 🐢

My partner and I visited when it was just above freezing, the gators outside were a bit slow at first. Eventually about noon they started to move around and going for the food we threw. It was a bit confusing walking through and at first we were hesitant if we could walk through certain doors or not, but most areas were accessible to, just not inside the gated areas where the animals were. Overall, we will definitely come back and recommend a visit for anyone passing through with extra time.

Gator farm was awesome and we really enjoyed this experience. Staff was nice and friendly and all the animals were easily visible. Loved meeting Morris and kids got to hold a baby gator.

It's always a good time to visit the alligator farm. Even when it's icy outside, the alligators are provided with warm water to keep from getting too cold. You get to feed the gators and some fish, as well as hold a young gator. It's a good time for families with young kids, and they have a playground for them too.
JC Caelan — Google review
What a great place to visit. I go every time I am close, the 25 dollars to get in is so worth it when you see the employees working hard to make sure the animals in their care are all good. They even give you a bucket of dog food to feed the beasts. And the tilapia are ready to eat too. They have small bins of fish food too. Thank you for the great day. Kee0 up the gooood work.
eric heinz — Google review
A Sanctuary, a working ranch. We have been there years ago and again now. They keep it running with the fees.
I'm a bit worried about the animals and some visitors (especially kids can be very rude), but they do their best to guarantee those creatures a good life. They had a devastating fire in April and lost so many animals. It still breaks my heart to think of it.
Maybe the fish tank could be improved? Looks quite uncomfortable.
Anyway, the workers there do their very best and I really respect that.
It's special, you can touch tortoises and an alligator. The nice guy told me they don't feel uncomfortable.
It's clear: those animals are NOT pets!

Was a great reptile park to visit. The staff was super friendly and you are able to feed the gators. You can tell the animals are loved and the whole park has a very relaxed vibe to it.

This place is certainly eclectic. You can tell Judy puts her heart and soul into this. She's a lovely person of whom I recommend having a conversation with. Be sure to read the journal inside with documented experiences from visitors. A nice stop on a long drive. Thanks, Judy!!

It is sortof interesting.
If you arrive when the building is open you can peruse the notebook of UFO and other phenomena witnessed at the site.
Nice scenic view from the observation deck.
You may leave an item in their garden for paranormal oversight.
Next summer they are scheduled to have on display, in a new (yet to be built) addition, the reconstructed skeleton of a horse (Skippy), which is the first known space alien mutilation.
If you're in the region, it is a fun little stop.
No bathrooms.

Way out in the middle of nowhere Colorado there is an Alien Welcome Center! I stumbled upon this place by complete and total accident but was so happy I did!
There is camping and so many cool earthly artifacts left for aliens who happen to land here! I mean the the view of the sky at night is INCREDIBLE!
Nearby places to also check out are The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Zapata Falls!!!

Great views from the observation deck & fun souvenirs and stories from the gift shop. No "real" aliens sighted, but the ones put out by the staff are neat to look at, as well as all the tributes/time capsule stuff that people leave at the feet of the alien 👽 dioramas.

Stopped by this UFO place. Loved the junk garden. You can feel the vortex energy when walked around. Meg with the friendly staff Annie. She told us many interesting stories and walked us around. We also donated something to the garden. Glad that we visited here.

Vortex in the area so there is cool energy. Lots of “donations” by visitors, which is fun. Tower to overlook the valley (snowy when we went so not much visibility today). $5 entrance fee

Great spot of land located in the valley. Had a great time here camping and exploring the surrounding areas. Not too far from the Sand Dunes National Park. Really a cool idea if your interested in the paranormal. I wasn't able to see anything unexpected however this is a popular area for such activities.

What a sweet, impromptu stop to make on a road trip. I had no idea this place existed and was pleasantly surprised to pull over and witness this cultural representation of what folks thinks make is human, and learn more about the UFO phenomenon. It’s small, but a fun hour or so out of your day.

Come visit! I love the energy of anyone working at this spot. The wholeheartedly believe in the power of this place vs. Some random teenagers just having a summer job. Neat little place with camping spots. We stayed the night; the camping spots are very close to each other but no one was very noisy. Slept in peace.
There is a little gift shop open during the day; the lady worker with dreads was very nice and she seem happy to be working and talking to customers.
I paid a $5 dlr entrance fee per person.
$15 for a camping spot.
No trees or shade on the camping site.
It’s a nice place to see at least once.

We went maybe 4 months ago on our trip to the other side of the mountains. Cool little spot. They say there are two energy vortexes there and be cautions because you may feel weird. Can’t say I felt anything, but my girlfriend? She got the strangest feeling of almost being sick..slight vibrations..and just all around an out of place strange feeling. I don’t think she will be coming back..but I might make the drive again? Lol I want to experience something cool

Inspiring place to visit. Off the beaten path, but a definite must visit, especially if you're visiting The Great Sand Dunes.
If you're into UFOs, spiritual or mystical places, or even a place to experience the possibilities of "what if", then this is THE location to visit. I absolutely loved being here.

After years of passing this stop without time to visit, we stopped on a Sunday afternoon in April on our way to the Dunes. While the main ticket office/gift shop was closed, there’s multiple admission deposit boxes, so bring cash. $5/person, kids 6 & under are free. There was a portalet on site with toilet paper. We enjoyed the vortex garden & made a few contributions for fun. From the watch tower deck, we didn’t see any UFOs but did catch the largest dust devil I’ve ever seen from the top!
Stopped in for a drink. It was lovely! We ended up having spaghetti and meatballs. Delicious with great friendly service! Will be back for dinner and a movie!

Wonderful pizza, and Calzone! Nice staff. Working very hard to keep all the tourists happy. One of the best places to stop. Nice inside seating and outdoor patio.

This is a charming casual restaurant with seating both inside and out. I was so surprised and pleased that they had gluten free pizza crust! I could have any pizza I wanted! Their prices are average for the area and service was excellent and friendly. They have take-out as well as eat-in. Close at 8pm, as is customary in this area. Highly recommended for a great eating experience!

Can’t say enough good things about this place, from the incredibly friendly staff to the high quality menu ingredients and vast selection of great tasting beers. We had such a great time and delicious meal, we will be stopping here every time we pass through Del Norte!

Good pizza, good beers! Traveling through, checking out the sights and told the beers were good here.
Yep, the beer was pretty good. I'm not an aficionado (I'll leave that up to our son), but the Trashy Blonde was tasty. Only one because I was driving.
I got the 10" Hawaiian pizza. Ya, it was tasty too.
Best part was making my own 6-pack to go from their canned brews.
I'd recommend this to anyone in the area.

The green chili was delicious. Meaty with good chunks of potato. Great ambiance in the location. Friendly and attentive staff. The salad was not a salad. Two sandwich tomato slices, a handful of wet lettuce and a cup of ranch does not constitute a side salad. You have so many additional toppings. You could put mushrooms, red onions or carrots. Maybe even a sprinkle of cheese. It was reasonably priced so what are you gonna do?

Driving through town and thought I’d call in an order after looking at their online menu I pulled up directly from their website- prices looked reasonable and figured it would be better than gas station food…. Boy was I wrong! Ordered a kids pizza, a salad, and a panini- was told it was $36+ but according to the menu it should’ve been only about $25. Thought maybe she totaled it wrong and I’d worry about it when I picked it up. After arriving and having to wait an additional 15 minutes for it to be ready was told by the manager that I looked at the wrong menu- after showing her exactly how I looked at it she still argued that I, the customer, was wrong and disappeared to get her higher up whom I never saw and we decided to not waste any more time. Food was mediocre at best- tasted like everything was ordered in premade, pizza was barely cooked and had little to no flavor, salad had chunks of the core of the lettuce (as shown in the picture), and the best part of the Rueben panini was the bread. Don’t waste your time here!

This rating is for the Beer only. They have the best brewery hands down. Moved close to it, love to stop by and purchase flats of my favorites. Hasn't changed, hope it never does! Best craft brewery in Colorado!

A friend told us about this great place in Del Norte they have delicious calzones, Stromboli and pizza. There is patio seating in the warmer months and well behaved dogs can accompany you. They also make a delicious dark cream soda. I don't drink alcohol so I would know about the brewery part of this establishment.

Stopped in on our way home for lunch. Cute little spot. Was dog friendly which is nice. Food was good, service not so much. Waited about 40 minutes to get out food. Server never came and checked on us at any point after taking order, did not inform us food was delayed. Had the capris panini it was good but cold. Ordered a kids pizza good size. Also ordered 1 calzone.

If you’re heading through town but not sure you have time to stop for food… ignore the clock, listen to your gut, stop by! We’ve been meaning to for a long time. Finally made it and loved it! Atmosphere, food, and of course the beer were all great! Loved making a mixed six pack to take home! Most importantly, the staff was absolutely fantastic, super sweet, attentive, helpful, and went well above and beyond helping out this tired mom. We’ll be adding this place to our routine/required stops when we’re traveling back and forth. Definitely recommend!

Great atmosphere and friendly service! We had the green chili pizza (SO GOOD!!) I loved the English Brown (Toast) and it might be my favorite beer ever! Hubs liked the Chill session and we bought several to take home. Love this place!

As a traveler and real estate professional- finding wow in corners others have not bothered to look is an addiction. Three Barrel Brewing is my southeast CO addiction. Why? Three Barrels is better than any barrel of monkey fun. It is warmth of service, it is surprising beer flavors that send you to the moon ( I'll take Thursday seven days a week) and wood fired pizza, calzone and Stromboli's that will make your tummy happily hum.
Open seven days a week, the menu availability does vary a bit. For example, subs are not an every day.
What is a constant? Cold draft beer fresh from the barrel/vats. People genuinely happy you are there and rubbing shoulders w the locals.
Two happy hacks:
- first timer? Order a flight!
- ordering food? Order a couple of pizzas as "starters" (they come out pretty quick) and also order either a Stromboli or calzon as a main. These take 15 mins longer to cook. Key to success w this hack- emphasize to waitress your starter and then plan. Otherwise the crew will hold pizza until the calzone/ Stromboli is done.
Three Barrels offers 6 packs to go- best enjoy your weekend party favors ever!

One of the best margherita pizzas I’ve ever had and they have a beer selection way up my alley with lots of browns, reds, amber, porter, stout and an incredible smoked blackberry smoked porter. But my fav was the coconut brown! Their gluten free crust is delicious, it’s a broccoli cheddar crust, unique, crispy and tasty.

Read about this place in an Airbnb guidebook and we loved it! Even though it was near closing time, the woman that helped us gave us an overview on the history and processes that they use. During winter, they transport the bees to Presidio, Tx so they are able to then have a dark salt cedar honey. With current restrictions, they cannot do samples but prices are reasonable. We picked up creamy honey, 3 types of honey, in addition to some handmade soap & handcrafted tea blends. They also have a Christmas store in the back & intricate beeswax candles.

Excellent choices to get some good honeys and some cool Colorado logos and shirts plus they do sell gift box for loved one or honey freak! Even they have 5lbs honey! I love their creamed honey. We did the 2hr tasting trip in mid-June. The water was pretty low so it was more of a float than a whitewater rafting trip. We had some younger kids in our party so it was fine. Our guide was new but did a good job navigating. We paddled, got wet, and had a good time.
One suggestion: Have a section on your website with suggestions of what to bring or not bring. We wish we had a dry bag, some snacks and extra water.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at the 8200 mountain sports shop. Not only did they charge us extra money and got short with us over a ski swap out, but when my father wrote a negative review expressing our dissatisfaction, their response was incredibly rude and untrue. It's disheartening to see a business not only overcharge their customers for something that simple but also treat them with such disrespect when they voice their concerns. It is frustrating to encounter a business that not only overcharges its customers for something as simple as getting shorter skis but also lacks professionalism and customer service skills. We will definitely not be returning to the 8200 mountain sports and would strongly discourage others from patronizing it, as it seems they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction. And to the owner looking to bash reviewers who are simply expressing their own experience with the shop maybe try to use the reviews as a way to learn and grow. If you are looking for a quality ski shop that has AMAZING customer service try Docs ski shop.

8200 Mountain Sports is a company who really wants their customers to have a great time or they will make it right. They were super friendly, accommodating, and helped us pick out some great lures. That being said, I would not recommend Troy as a float fishing guide. He was super impatient and spent way too much time criticizing instead of making sure we were enjoying our trip. 🎣😊

I have been using this place for years and has always been great. But today I did a two day rental. We had a huge party. There was a lot of confusion and young skiers. we ended up renting equipment for two days but by the end of the first day several people were done so I went to return equipment and they do not offer refunds for unused days even though I returned the equipment on the same day I rented it.
There has been lawsuits cases over predatory policies like this so I will not be returning to this place. I would suggest looking at other ski shops that are not greedy and offer a refund or credit for unused rentals.
And another experience I had the same day while we’re renting. I was renting skies for my five year-old daughter, and they had Leaned the skis up against the counter. I picked them up because she wanted to see how they looked and laid them on the carpet. The guy at the counter laid into me in a crowded ski shop. And grabbed the skies and Said, skies do not go on carpet. They only go on snow. I will charge for damages! Like really dude! No offense, but I have been skiing and snowboarding for 22 years. Laying a pair of skis on the carpet is not going to damage them. You were embarrassing yourself, and trying to embarrass me in front of a crowd of people which I will not forget.

8200 Mountain Sports Ski Rentals is the place to go for affordable rentals. They came highly recommended and I see why! The rental process was smooth and quick. I booked online and was in and out within 15 minutes. The return process was also easy. I will use them again. Thanks guys!

I strongly recommend steering clear of 8200 Mountain Sports due to their rude behavior. When my children felt uncomfortable with the long skis chosen by the staff, Pierce and another staff member were rude and unhelpful. It took only 4 minutes to exchange sizes, yet they were hateful about it. This was a terrible experience for my young family, and I have never encountered such behavior at a ski rental facility before. I suggest renting from Docs down the street instead! The response from the owner is a lie, further showing their character! Avoid avoid avoid!!!

Great guiding experience for us. It is late in the season for trout, but our guide (Pierce) took up to a beautiful place high in the mountains. He knew right where the fish hung out. I'll never travel to Pagosa Springs without this trip planner again
Spectacular, and very doable in a 4x4 based on what I saw while only going downhill/westbound on a small motorcycle (i.e. stock 4Runner near the top, stock Taco along the way). The only part that felt really sketchy on two wheels was the loose rock along the steepest, longest climb (just north of where Elwood, Crater, and Bear Creeks meet on the map), but the creek crossing was an easy <1ft when I splashed through on Labor Day The top is the crazy pretty stuff, but that one climb makes you earn it. I'd go do this again in a heartbeat, even if the loose rock is unsettling on the bike!

We attempted Elwood Pass on 7/29/23 in our mostly stock Geo Tracker. The only upgrade is slightly larger tires (still small at 225/75r15 aka 28.3"). Our ground clearance is right around 9". We headed up East Fork road from the Pagosa side and made it to within 5 miles of the pass when we decided to turn around. Several side by sides said that it got worse and we had already been bottoming out on some stuff. We spoke with another guy on the way back down that also had a Tracker (at home) and he said we could make it. We may try again if we go with some other folks but played it safe today. Turns out it seems that we lost a rocker panel on the trail so please let us know if you find it. We'll look for it when we go back up there.

Alot of work on a large adventure bike, very difficult with stock tires or two up. Great ride and worth it under the right conditions. Expect to drop your bike at least of few times on downhill slopes with baby head boulders.

Excellent 4x4 pass over the South San Juans! Elwood pass is one of the original passes used before Wolf Creek pass was built. There's tons of wildlife and photo opportunities throughout the entire route. Be sure you have plenty of daylight left before attempting this pass, it can occasionally take longer than planned and goes through some rough spots here and there. There's also access to forest service rental cabins from this road, definitely worth looking into on their website!

A very fun 4x4 road. The recent monsoon rains have made it more challenging with a need to watch tire placement for proper ground clearance, experience would be helpful on the road in present condition!

Striking volcanic landscape reached by a popular hiking trail or rugged 4x4 driving route.
It's criminal that people have given this place a mediocre looking review for google. First, the area is very hard to access. You either need a 4x4 to drive there or do an 8.4 mi hike. I guess that must be why the reviews aren't great. If you do any amount of research beforehand though, you'll know that this is the case. It shouldn't come as a surprise.
I did the hike. I also did it in a day, which I was warned against and would not do again. The hike is absolutely gorgeous the entire way and very easy, just long. The first 2-ish miles are downhill, which means they're uphill coming back. It's never steep and that was the worst of it. I actually really wish I had known that beforehand though, because that would have changed my mind on trying to do the hike in a day. Nothing like being out of shape and, after having walked 15 miles with your toenails falling off because you don't own real hiking shoes, still having to walk 2 mi uphill to get back to your car. I recognize that all of that is my bad, though.
All that said, the hike has incredible views pretty much the whole time and the site itself is otherworldly. I've never seen anything like it. I would highly highly recommend anyone interested to spend a couple days backpacking and camping in the area.

Had a good time here with the fam - took about 2+ hours to get to in a rented jeep. The walk was about 30 min from the top parking lot - views were epic - if you go please do the hike to the top to see the full view

Great place. Did a 3 day backpack in to our base camp in earlier June. It's about 7 miles to the site, and took roughly 3.5 hours with an extended break. It wasn't too bad with gradual ascends and descends throughout the hike. Setup camp and relaxed the rest of the day. Next day was spent exploring the monument, hiking halfmoon pass trail, and hiking up to the Palmer Mesa. Total hike up from our camp to Palmer Mesa was about 8 miles and roughly 2k elevation change. Saw an Elk in the distance, also saw a Big Horn driving to the trailhead. So you may or may not see some good wildlife in the area. Views were gorgeous, sitting on the edge of the rocks and looking at the monument was peaceful. Packs were lighter for the hike back and completed it without resting in 2.5hours. Personally seeing all the beetle kill and dead trees was eye opening. Such a shame.

The Wolf Creek Ski Area is a popular mountain destination for locals due to its powder days, short lift lines, and snowboard-friendly terrain. To make the most of your visit, it's recommended to arrive before 8:30 am for closer parking and consider bringing a picnic to save money. Base Camp is also suggested as an area to store belongings and eat food. The ski resort offers some of the best runs for both experienced skiers and beginners alike.
We keep coming back because we love it!! ❤️ Here are some tips if you are planning to go. 1. Try to get there before 8:30 am. That way, you get to park in an area closer to the lift. 2. You can bring a picnic if you want to save money. 3. Base Camp is a suggested area to leave your things and have your food. And best off all, this Ski resort provides some of the best runs for those who are very experienced to those who are just starting. This has become a family tradition, and we love it!!

Mmmmight be my favorite ski area. Didn’t get much fresh snow this time but it was still perfect conditions. 5 minute wait for tickets at the base area. On New Year’s Eve. $100. Which is a great deal compared to everywhere else. Parking shuttle system was efficient. Definitely a family mountain. Terrain is terrific. And it’s huge. Can’t wait to go back.

Wolf Creek Ski area was great! It is a massive ski basin with a lot of runs for everyone. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner, intermediate or expert, there are slopes for all of the ski levels! They even have some area for cross country skiing. The facilities are nice as well. The ski shop is large and typically busy in the mornings. The snow board hut is small but they have plenty equipment. If you can buy your lift ticket online or rent your equipment online I would recommend it. I could not during this trip. All of the facilities were nicely maintained. The bathroom was very well keep and clean for a ski resort. The hot chocolate was not very good but the hamburger was decent. Wolf Creek Ski area gets the most snow in Colorado. This year has been a 'down' year according to locals but the slopes we're still fantastic! I would highly recommend coming here.

Excellent old school ski area - friendly, great lifts, not mobbed. Very friendly staff and instructors. Acres of wide open snow and catering to different levels of skill. We went in the spring and the weather was great. Very drivable from Pogosa Springs (about 35 minutes on a very good road). Lots of natural sites to visit in the vicinity if you have down time. Highly recommend and worth the easy flight from the east coast to Denver and connect through to Durango - easy 1 hour drive from the Durango airport to Pogosa Springs.

We had the best experience with equipment rentals for our kid. The system runs smoothly and everyone was super friendly. The ski school was amazing! Our daughter spent some time in ski school with Mr. Dan. He was great and she absolutely loved it! She was great on the slopes after this and we had lots of fun running the green and blue runs with her. Family friendly and a great place to have your littles attend classes.

Awesome place to ski, with friends and family. Wolf creek always has fresh powder to ski and snowboard on plus they are less busy than the large ski resorts in other parts of Colorado so you get more runs in!! We had a great time skiing one and a half day but the unfortunate part of wolf creek is having to drive the pass to get to the resort which was shut down 2 of our 4 days but we will back for more fun!!

Love the place. Shout out to Craig Taylor for two days of lessons for my wife who is returning to a lost love after many years. Came to Colorado to see Durango, the Polar Express and family. Got here early and added Pagosa Springs (with the thought Wolf Creek might be open early December). Serendipity? Wolf Creek has been brilliant, some of my best skiing and I have been everywhere. Love the Pagosa Springs vibe and even (review tomorrow) found what seems a fantastic hot springs. None of the Aspen, Vail, Lake Tahoe "vibe" but for me that is a major plus. Yeaterday the lift was filled with kids that the family that owns the resort sponsors - no income limit to participating (free)! Could definitely see this as my home resort if we retire here. Love it. If you need lessons, make sure to get Craig Taylor! Almost forgot, final tote. Got local appreciation pricing for my wife and me for two.days AND 4 hours private lessons both days for LESS than I paid at Heavenly for wo hours just for one lesson (and that was witg ZERO lift cost in this tote as an IKON pass holder. Makes one understand the comments of praise from many about the quality of the slopes. I can add tgat for less than half the price you get as good terrain and better powder. What is not to LOVE!

Love, Love this place! Now I may be bias due to this being my 1st ski resort. However, this place is amazing to us. It’s super family friendly and we’ve seen families with babies on the skis. We have a toddler and I’m amazed at seeing some ppl with their babies on the snow (obviously they’re carrying them), but still. Highly recommend this place and give it a try. The day we went it was a total of about 3400 ppl on the hill the worker said.

Overall one of the worst mountains we’ve been to compared to Vail, Keystone, Brek & others. Just a lot smaller. It’s great for families because it’s a lot cheaper but the lack of ski in ski out really sucks and the drive there and back from Pagosa springs is not fun to make daily.

First time here, and we had an amazing time! The snow was perfect, their ability to shuttle you from the parking lot was very efficient, and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly!! We will be back!!! Love the scenery!!!

Loved our time in pagosa and wolf creek! We rented skis for our kids in pagosa and got to the wolf creek and my son’s boot would not fit in the binding, we went over to the “wolf pups” area and the staff reset his bindings to the proper setting. Everyone who we encountered that worked there was very nice. The skiing was great, no lift lines, and lift tickets are reasonably priced. We look forward to returning!
Creede Repertory Theatre is a must-visit destination during the summer season, offering a diverse range of plays, musicals, and concerts in a charming 1930s venue. The theater showcases both classical and contemporary productions, providing an enriching cultural experience for visitors. Additionally, the annual Taste of Creede event features artist demonstrations, live music, and a silver-chef cooking competition.
Beautiful theatre with a good variety of shows being offered at two different locations. The mainstage is more a traditional theatre experience. The Ruth Humphreys theatre is a more intimate, 270⁰ stage experience.

What an amazing experience. If you’re lucky enough to see a show, do so in the outdoor experience. The views are spectacular and the production was beautifully done. We saw, Dear Jack, Dear Louise and ever word spoke to our military background.

Amazing theater at an affordable price. We saw 5 plays in 3 days and each one was excellent. Beautiful place for rejuvenation. Well worth the drive. I especially like Pride and Prejudice. Don't miss it. I love traditional Jane Austin and have read this book many times. At first I was a little uneasy but it turned out to be delightful fun. So many lines come straight from the book. Who would have imagined talented actors and actresses playing so many different roles could change and adapt so convincingly. As a observer of human nature, I think Jane Austin would have enjoyed this light amusing look that kept the spirit of her best loved story.

Was VERY disappointed! Told the day before no mask. Got there the next day and was told no entrance unless you masked due to 2 (TWO PEOPLE) having COVID. We asked for our money back and a VERY rude woman said we needed to exit the Theater without a refund! asked when regulations changed and they said the day before! I asked where was my email? I couldn’t find one and they couldn’t show one was sent! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Employees very rude!!!!! FINALLY got my money returned and left!!!!

We saw Mountain Octopus and it was great! I'm surprised at the talent level of acting in such a small town. I can't wait to go back for another show if we make the trip next year. The staff also went above and beyond helping us find the phone that my daughter lost. Creede Rep theater is 5 stars all around. Bravo!

Such an amazing place. Actually made the whole loop in a Ford Fusion. Jack is a great man for the restoration of this place. TONS of stones to choose from and the jewelry he makes, I'm glad my wife wasn't with me. Totally awesome experience!!!!

This place is definitely worth the trip. I've visited a handful of other mines before, and nothing comes close to this experience. You get to go deep in a mine and see what things were like 100 years ago.
Jack was an amazing person to talk to. I was slightly intimidated at first seeing this genuine mountain man, but he was very nice and seems to care about his guests having a good time.
Everyone there truly seemed to enjoy their job and keeping history alive for everyone else to see.

We came to last chance mine this year in September. I've lived in Colorado all my life, this is one of the coolest places I've been. The area has lots of old mining structures and these buildings are a well preserved look into history. You can tell that Jack, the owner, has a great appreciation for constant restoration of the area. The museum was absolutely amazing and some of the people in our group went on the tour of the mines. We were a little short on time on this visit but we can't wait to come back and see the mines too.

The Last Chance Mine is a must visit when you’re in the area! They offer multiple cave tour options to choose from, and they have plans to further expand and include even more tours next season! My tour guide Bobby was very knowledgeable about the history of the mine, the miners, how silver is found, and his charismatic personality made my day. They also sell an impressive variety of rocks of different origins (at great prices) which make for great souvenirs or gifts.
Alyssa Stockman — Google review
This place is seriously awesome! Forget the kid stuff downtown. Up here you get to actually go inside a mine that was dug in he 1800’s and see exactly what those guys worked in ‘back in the day’. Crazy!
Harrison did an amazing professional job (so much so that I remembered his name and was sure to mention him)! And Bobby our tour guide was the best! These guys spend the morning digging out the rubble from the existing tunnels to expand the future tours and after that they’re the ones giving tours! They’re all super informative and familiar with mine. Thanks for an awesome afternoon!
Lance Battenfield — Google review
It was a spectacularly beautiful and easy drive to the mine. We were SO thrilled that the mine was still open for tours (closes 10/7/23). It beat any expectations I had by a long shot.
We were immediately greeted by a tall and friendly cowboy who helped us park and gave us a brief history of the mine and a run down of the variety of things to do there- tours, rock shop, rock hounding, museums, see the ridiculously amazing views, etc.
My sister and I did the 15 minute tour with our kids (2 and 5 yo). Jack, the owner, was so kind and got us signed up. He even gave our kids a special crystal, which they have not stopped talking about. John gave us a great tour that everyone enjoyed.
We took the kids to do some rock hounding. They give you all the tools and tell you what to look for and there is even a special kids pile with no shortage of beautiful rocks to find. The prices are super reasonable and they told us about all the things we found. We like the huge selection of other rocks too.
We loved it so much, my sister and I went back later for the 45 minute tour, this time with Bobby.
I’ve done plenty of other mine tours but this one is something special. There is so much love and thoughtfulness around this place and it is totally professional. This place is the coolest and I am so glad we went, we could not have had a better time. Wonderful everything. Thank you guys!

Amazing experience and what a great story about preserving Colorado's history. We took our kids (4 and 6y.o.) on the 15 minute underground tour with Scotty. He was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. Loved the flute performance in the mine!

What a perfect adventure into the past! Bob, our tour guide was skilled, personable and lead us safely through one section of the mine. The mine had lighting and metal netting to prevent falling stones. It felt safe. One could see many levels of shafts that had been mined. Bob was super informative in explaining the operations.
Following the tour, we were given the opportunity to collect stones for $2 a pound. These stones had been discarded by the miners. Amethyst, quartz, and many other minerals were amongst the finds! Shawn and others explained in detail what stones were found by us fledgling "miners".
It was really fun and very informative! A dip into the past!

My husband & I visited the mine a few days ago on our trip to Colorado. Bobby was so informative & the story behind the mine is so neat. We took a tour of the mine itself, lots to see. We even did some rockhounding and left with lots of amethyst. This mine is definitely worth the trip!

Was definitely worth the drive up. Kids loved it. Everyone we talked to was super nice and Bobby was a great tour guide for the 45 minute tour. Lots of great history here. It was just my family on the 10:30 tour, so my recommendation is to go early. Was really hopping by the time we left.

Best mining tour. Highly recommend especially with kids. The rock collection that you can do is amazing, you only pay at the end per pound. They even let you know if it is a keeper or just a rock.
Driving to the mine the direction they recommend for 2 wheel drive, even if in all or 4 wheel, especially if you are going to do the full loop.

Stumbled upon this when doing the bachelor city loop drive on a whim and really enjoyed it. We actually did the underground mine tour in town right before and I would recommend this over that for the real deal experience; although the underground tour was a helpful pre-requisite.
The Last Chance Mine has a fascinating back story, great guide by the name of Bobby and you can mine for your own minerals out of the very tailings pile they discarded which are rich in all kinds since they were focused on Silver.
Would love to come back again and highly recommend.

There was a bit of a wait due to waiting for the last tour to return, but it was fun and very educational! Our tour guide Bobby did a great job keeping us laughing and still teaching us a lot about the mine and the area.
Treasure Falls is a picturesque 105-foot waterfall located in the National Forest accessible via two hiking trails from a parking lot. Visitors can opt for a quick view of the falls from the ample parking area or hike up to them, which entails navigating steep and often muddy terrain. Nonetheless, it is just a one-mile round trip hike that typically takes an hour depending on trail conditions and hiker ability. Appropriate footwear is recommended. The waterfall lies along Hwy.
Really nice falls and just a short hike. But you can see it from the parking lot as well. But it's well worth the short hike.

There's two lovely little hikes here. A primitive hike and a main trail. The primitive is as you read, unmaintained. You can mostly see where the trail "is" but you will be doing a little exploring on the way. We went up the primitive and came back the main trail because the primitive was quite steep. But there's definitely some truth to the saying of taking the road less traveled.

Breathtaking. After a short, up-hill hike you’ll be rewarded! We were here in the winter so if you’re feeling unsure about hiking over snow and/or mud, take a walking stick. An amazing experience that shouldn’t be missed if you’re in the area.
Neil Lewis — Google review
Treasure Falls is literally a drive up waterfall. It plunges 105-feet and is a one-mile round trip hike up to the falls, from the parking lot. The trail is steep and often muddy. The parking lot is generous, but often full. If you just want to view the falls its a quick visit. Otherwise plan on at least an hour to hike, depending on the trail conditions and one's skill. Wear appropriate footwear.
It's located right on Hwy. 160, about 15 miles East of Pagosa Springs. the parking pullout is on the right.
I loved being able to see the falls from the parking lot.

Excellent short stop. Just enough climb to get the blood pumping for 30 minutes. Visited during good runoff and the spray at the upper deck was enough to soak you. Be cautious with young kids or anyone with unsure footing in the area around the upper deck.

Beautiful waterfall that's well worth seeing. We went in June 2023, and it was gorgeous. We took the main trail up to the falls and the primitive trail back down. We stopped at every viewpoint, and the observation point where we got soaked from the spray. Beautiful waterfall!

Awesome frozen waterfall off the side of the road. Don’t recommend following the “path” right up the middle. Stay on the actual path. A little icy and recommend spikes.

Amazing falls to visit. It won't disappoint as long as you go during the spring. Stay away during the fall as the water is usually a trickle than. Winter is nice due to the ice falls, but beware of the snow. Don't attempt to ice climb the falls. Overall it's usually not crowded and I've been there a few times.

A little place but a wonderful sight. There is a trail that allows you to explore the area and overlook to the west. In shoulder seasons going into/out of winter, you can see the falls in a frozen state.

Wow! Absolutely stunning! Parking is small and it gets really busy but worth the wait. Two trails one for beginners and another much more difficult trail. It's about 1 mile round trip but highly recommend still taking water. An absolute gem and it's free. Take the hike and enjoy nature.

Amazing spot to visit, it's about 20 minutes outside of Pagosa Springs. The hike was easy, did it with a two year old. The view from the bridge is nice, great for pics, but if you go up further the view is even better! You can actually get right under the waterfall.

Perfect little walk for the whole family in the warmer months, if you go in the snow make sure you have proper shoes as the trail does increase in elevation. It's about a mile round trip if you go to the bridge and the main overlook. I've visited in the summer and winter and both times it was beautiful.
May 10th, 2022. The hike was pretty great. Steep in the beginning, then just a lot of ups and downs. Between 5 and 6 miles from the lot to the hot springs (found at campsite #8). Because of all the recent fires and intense winds, there were A LOT of downed trees on the path. We called them "tree obstacles" and we counted 151 (fifteenety-one) of them along the trail, where we had to climb over/under/around to get by. So that was a little extra exhausting, but we have fun. The hot springs were more warm than hot, theres a lot of algae in them. The river's very cold. Also there was a good 50 foot chunk of the trail that was knee-deep RIVER, so had to maneuver carefully around that, a little rock climbing, if you will. We enjoyed the entire experience greatly, our two 55 lb dogs did as well. Turned our phones off for all of it, so unfortunately no photos. There wasn't much for crossroads/crossing trails, pretty much just the one path, which made it extra easy to not get lost (added bonus for the directionally challenged).
Cassandra — Google review
Not a bad hike but be sure to bring enough water. From the Rainbow / West Fork trailhead it is about 5.2 miles each way.
The path to the hot spring can be found between various l Camp 6 and Camp 7. The water is a little over a foot deep, and about 100°F -- perfect for relaxing in for hours 😌
If you're really still, you might have some visitors. I had a chipmunk jump onto my exposed knee; and then had a pair of marmots visit 😄 No issues with annoying bugs.
James Barker — Google review
Worth the 12 mile, ~1000 ft. climb round trip! We thought hot springs themselves are sort of forgettable, and like many natural hot springs a little gross with algae and silt, but after hiking the 6 miles out (We couldn't figure out why some state it's as little as 4), you'll really appreciate the relaxing break! The star of this experience is the hike. Super scenic and varied. The contrast of destruction from the 2013 fire and the new life is beautiful and the hike has so much variety to it. At the very least pack a lunch to enjoy before the return hike, or for the more experienced and ambitious- stay overnight!
David Andora — Google review
Hidden gem! The hot springs felt wonderful after hiking half of the five miles in rain and hail without jackets, and spending a cold 45 degree night without enough dry blankets! Next time we’ll know better!! Would do it again, just not through a thunderstorm!
Rachel — Google review
Long hike, 10 to 11 round trip. Moderate to hard due to length. 1000+ elevation gain. Do not go without rain gear or proper backcountry clothing/gear. Trail is clear and easy to follow, burn area so is exposed so take water or a filter.
Lori Cruser — Google review
Ok, but not great at all. The hike is more like 11 miles in and out- the hot spring trail doesn’t start until you pass the private property areas about a mile in. Take plenty of snacks and water (I live at 7,000’ and am acclimated to the dry altitude, so don’t take that lightly). It’s a beautiful- unfortunately, fire scarred- hike, but just make sure you’re prepared. The hot springs are a little difficult to find- go to exactly where the Google Maps pin is, then head straight for the river (which, is a little steep to get to). The spring itself was a bit disappointing. Murky, dirty water and small. Only enough room for a handful of people to get in at a time. And, the river is ice cold! Overall, ok- it was nice to visit a remote hot spring, but is not likely a place I’ll return to.
Follow up on another review- we went on 5/May 23, 2022, and there were only about 15-20 downed trees on the trail and they were all near the end. They weren’t much trouble to pass.
Nate See — Google review
This is a great place to hike if you're able to handle a 5-6 mile hike. A few parts of the trail are difficult. The hot springs at the end are worth the trek! The weather can be tricky so prepare for anything from heat to rain. I'd suggest bringing a towel and a change of clothes.
Daniel Holley — Google review
10.3 miles round trip from the main parking area. Mostly a gradual ascent there, decent back. Went on a Sunday afternoon and were the only people at the springs. Beautiful hike!

Hike was great but mostly exposed. Area is still recovering from the fire. Most of the hike is fairly easy but there are a omw tricky spots. Hot springs where also recovering from the flooding but are functional and a nice reward after the hike.

I am assuming it is a family owned little zoo. We haven't seen much. Maybe a few other animals are in hibernation or just hiding from the cold. Coming from. California, with San Diego and LA Zoos experience, this wasn't something to our expectations, but it is one of the few places to take small kids to, in Pagosa. I was glad that I had the opportunity to see this huge wolf pretty closed up!

Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts is a stunning venue that houses a resident theater company. They offer Broadway revivals, live music performances, and plays. The talent showcased by the actors and actresses is outstanding, as evidenced by their powerful vocals and unwavering commitment to their craft. The second stage is positioned incredibly close to the audience yet this doesn't seem to affect the performers in any way.
We had family members in the Thingamajig production of, The Lion King, at the Pagosa Springs Centre for the Arts. This was our family's first time participating in one of their theater camps, and we could not have asked for a more lovely experience. Ms. Laura is the education person, not sure if I have her title correct, and she was gracious, helpful and extremely professional! Our kids were well-treated, and learned discipline, how to collaborate, and most importantly to have fun on stage!
As you walk around the inside, you can see the playbills from earlier productions which made us wish we had known about this earlier so we could have attended some of the shows. There are two stages, one in the front and one in the back. The lobby was sweetly decorated for Christmas and had a festive air about it. The outside patio has a fireplace which was helpful as we stood in line waiting for the doors to open.
There was a small gift shop, and a place to purchase snacks. There was also a large water station where anyone could help themselves to a cool drink. All of the staff, especially Ms. Laura's mom whose name I regretfully did not get, were kind, friendly and helpful. When there was a ticket crunch, they allowed us to wait inside as they figured out how to add more parents, grandparents, and other family members to the theater. The lighting, the music, and the set were splendiferous, with comfortable chairs in the seating area.
Our family is looking forward to the next play, which will most likely encourage us to visit Pagosa Springs more often.
I always give the bathrooms, anywhere, particular scrutiny and they were spotless and eclectically decorated. It was very nice that they utilized white, cloth hand-towels, in the bathroom for a small but important, contribution to less paper products in the trash.
I'm going to join the friends of Pagosa Springs Centre for the Arts so that I am notified well in advance of the Theatres happenings. I highly recommend you check this wonderful art center out!

The Center for the Arts is also known as the Thingamajig Theater. Wonderful performers from all over the States. This is our 3rd performance, Mama Mia, Jeckel and Hyde and Ring of Fire. The Theater had a formal Gala/fund raiser, we attended. We were able to have a guided tour of the theater with the Actors. Fascinating how many clothing changes the Actors go through during 1 performance. Great theater, very intimate and entertaining. Some of the pictures are of the restrooms. Kosmo

A beautiful center. The performance was excellent. I was completely blown away by the decor inside and the talent of the actors and actresses. The vocals we're powerful, the commitment absolute. The second stage leaves about 2 feet between it and the audience and you would have thought the performers had no idea. The show itself (Legally Blonde) was very entertaining, funny, expressive and potentially controversial at times. At one point, members of the cast are jumping rope in unison and singing at the same time. What? 10/10 would art again.

We were in town and got to experience the wonderful production of Pinkalicious. This was such a fun, high energy performance. The leads were outstanding. Very cozy venue. Nice gift shop in lobby. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will make this a regular on our next visits to Pagosa Springs.

All three summer shows for the 2022 season were amazing. The talent is top notch as is the smaller venue. Looking forward to future shows.
Beautiful drive to the trailhead and beautiful falls. Make sure you download your map before you go-- cell service is scarce--dirt road all the way. The hike is short, but there are other trails on the way to this one that you can stop at. Watch out for cows 🐄

Amazing hike. Very slippery when snow falls but the rocks and scenery is amazing. The water falls viciously and is very loud and calming

Amazing little gem. Short hike on a very nice, well maintained trail. Gorgeous views! The drive there was awesome, with places to pull off and enjoy the nature around you!

Really nice waterfall. Drive was long but nice. Mostly gravel roads, but they were good. Beautiful hike, almost wish it was longer than 1/2 mile to the falls. Got there early and no one was there so got to enjoy the waterfall all to myself. Felt like there was no one around for miles.

Short walk to an absolutely incredible view. 0.5 mile each way, some of the trail is tough due to large boulders and there is one section that is very narrow. When you get to the falls you can get some amazing views and cool off by doing your feet in the water!

Beautiful!! After the drive to Piedra Falls Trailhead you park and walk the fairly easy but very rocky trail to the waterfall. Neat little hike through the forest. The falls are amazing!! Great places to play in the water and climb on the boulders. Bring water to drink. No trash can, no running water, no toilet up here.

This is our new favorite place in Colorado! We drove to it from Pagosa Springs and the drive is just absolutely stunning. It turns to dirt road but it's fairly wide and very well maintained. We made it all the way and back in a light rain in our chevy equinox ls. Make sure to check out the side stops. We stopped at one on our way and ended up hiking a small trail to cliff overlooks, a cave or 2 and another waterfall! So beautiful. The trail itself is very shaded and kid friendly. Not too steep and not too narrow. We loved it!

So pretty. The air smells amazing! Drive up to the falls is great as well. Relatively easy hike and definitely worth it.

This is an amazing place to visit if you are around Pagosa springs. The drive to the falls through the back country roads is breathtaking. We went in May 2019 and there was plenty of water in the falls and the Piedra river. The hike to the waterfall is roughly 0.5 miles and is an easy one.

Short hike to the falls. Nice scenery and not crowded with people. Make sure you smell the light colored bark pine trees... Butterscotch.

Enjoyed our ride at Diamond Hitch... we haven't been on a horse in over 40 years so were little apprehensive. All the horses were great and easy to manage. The trail was rockier than expected, but no troubles. Our guide Roberta was great.

Absolutely amazing ride! I am an experienced rider but had my 7 year old daughter with me who hasn't rode more than a pony ride! She absolutely loved it. We come to Pagosa yearly and will add this to our tradition!
Also, the 2 hour ride is a must! Definitely worth the price and experience.

It was our second visit and we had a wonderful time again. This time we took an hour ride and a 1/2hr pony ride for our youngest. Each trip is a special visit for us and once again it for a lovely morning ride.

My husband and I had a great ride. The horses were very well mannered. The staff was very thoughtful and friendly. This is our 3rd horse ride in Colorado and it was the absolute best experience out of the 3. If you want a nice ride through a beautiful area with a great guide Diamond Hitch Stables is the place you want to go. My horse was Elena, my husband had Betty both very well behaved. Great for all ages and skill levels. The owner is a great guy who made sure we had a great time.

So wonderful! My husband and I took our 4 and 5 year old today for the hour long horseback ride. It was so great. Friendly, experienced staff, tame horses, gorgeous views. We saw several deer, humming birds and prairie dogs. The kids had a great time and I never worried about their safety. Highly recommend!

Best experience ever! First time riding a saddled cowboy style horse. Awesome trails in the woods surrounded by forest and mountains. Our guide Berta was very knowledgeable and friendly. She explained and answered all the questions regarding horse back riding and even showed us a quick demo version of riding a horse. All Horses are beautiful and all well trained. We were very happy to spent our time with these wonderful ppl and horses! Definitely coming back again!

Took my family there while visiting Pagosa Springs. We had a fabulous time.
None of us had ever ridden a horse before.
The horses were beautiful and very gentle.
The hour ride was a perfect time for us novices.
The guides Brian and Roberta were very experienced, fun, super kind, and enthusiastic. Overall we had an excellent experience and would very highly recommend.

Fantastic little trail ride experience for our two kids, who really loved it. Roberta was great, and so were all the horses. The place was laid back and friendly, and they were very nice in accommodating us (twice) for time changes. Highly recommend.
