Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area Siuslaw National Forest
Discover the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, an ideal destination for off-roading and hiking enthusiasts. This stunning location boasts 40 miles of wind-shaped sand dunes and offers campgrounds for visitors to enjoy. Take time to explore this beautiful area before embarking on a scenic drive up the coast on Highway 101. For those seeking adventure, there's a challenging 4.
For a first time visitor, it is actually quite hard to find the dunes. We happened across the visitor center in Reedsport, after driving many miles South from Florence. The center was closed, but lo and behold an angel appeared from within and gave us suggestions and directions to two locations that were awesome. One to the South of Windy Bay and the other on the John Dellenback dunes trail. They offered different perspectives but we're both amazing in their own right.

There are so many activities that are offered here. One of my favorites is mushroom picking. You can pick up different types of permits to pick mushrooms or greens throughout the area. They offer maps and help you with locations as to where you might have the best luck to find what you are looking for. The staff is very knowledgeable of the area.

Great hike, great walk don't forget your water

South Jetty - This was a fantastic area for me and my family in our Jeep to discover! Wide enough areas with many levels of dunes. I saw a lot of safe riding and it it was pretty empty for a summer Sunday.
I recommend bringing a map if it's your first time out cuz there's a lot of fingers to the dunes here. There were even areas to do some mudding! Be aware of the tide tables if you venture over the last dune onto the beach. Don't forget to air down and bring/mount your flag!

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area extends for 40 miles along the Oregon Coast. They run from Florence to Coos Bay. Bordering the Pacific Ocean, you can drive a dune buggy or quad bike on the beach as well as the sand dunes. We had a blast riding up and down the dunes before heading to the beach to cool down. Woo hoo! A great day if you're looking for an adventure 😀
Pen Jennings — Google review
Beautiful place to spend some time. The large loop trail 4.5 miles is quite strenuous since most of it is through soft sand. Near the sign in station a 1 mile gentle grade firm trail goes down to dune level. It has lovely picknic tables with amazing views.
Michelle Gervol — Google review
It’s the Pacific Ocean, and as always the view was spectacular. It smelled so good out on the Dunes

Dune buggy heaven. Take a ride to the top and come charging down. Kids love it. These are huge.

Always fun to ride.
Just wish when it's busy that most people would realize it's better to ride to the right of the main road from bull run to spin reel and again on the road to the right of the main oe on the way back. There could be less head on collisions if people could ride this way more often. Lots of area to ride!

What an amazing place. Dunes right on the coast. Loads of things to do and see. I'll be back for sure
Black Bear Hiker — Google review
This great expanse of dunes and beach is a prestine wilderness. At least when we went in early autumn. Cold and windy. The scenery of these massive dunes (climbing some 60 feet) with the beach and sea below is a spectacle.
Eduardo Mace — Google review
Such a beautiful area and something to do for everyone! Rent side by sides at Ridin Dirty Atv Rentals and explore the dunes, walk the beach, go crabbing and fishing, or hang out at the Blue Box and listen to some great music!
Angela Warner — Google review
We visited two sections of the sand dunes from Florence OR, make sure you pick up a map upon entering. Great place to get some steps in and view these massive sand dunes. You can rent vehicles from an outside company to ride thru the dunes if desired. I just enjoyed the nature trails and flowers along the way! Bathrooms and steps are in good condition. Great parking, they do check your car for a paid pass. Dont be cheap and end up paying a fine. Its a park, do the right thing..

Ya gotta like sand and a lot of it. Not a ocean beach scene but great dunes sweeping down to fresh water lakes. A unique region of the Oregon Coast to be sure.
If you are in the area, don't miss the opportunity to visit this museum. Very interesting and fun! They have a cute little gift shop and the Cafe next door is great too!

Such a fun place to spend time with kiddos!
We had lunch at the Schooner followed by a trip through this fun, interactive museum. The kids were free and we adult enjoyed ourselves too! The murals by a local artist are absolutely stunning.

What a great place! One side was history and the other side ecosystem. Each side was one continous display of amazing art work. It's hard to describe. I wasn't expecting it to be anything like it was. It was interesting and interactive enough for young kids, and still great for adults. My only complaint was that there was a little too much reading, but I still loved it.

Beautiful artwork and immersive exhibits. My husband and I enjoyed way more than we expected. Kids would love too. There were two restaurants nearby that looked good.

Very quaint and enjoyable little historical center and very informative and unique. There is a fun slide for kiddos and some interactive things to enjoy. Staff wasn't the kindest or helpful but they weren't mean. It's not too expensive either !

It's totally worth the $8 dollars to get in. Amazing exhibits. You have to try the bear slide. Make sure to see both sides of the center. The paintings are surreal. I just spent over 1 hour looking at everything. For the kids... try gift shop. The staff are super friendly and very helpful.

Very interesting information on trees, wildlife, birds and weather all local to Oregon and the Oregon coastal areas. Beautiful life like artwork throughout the exhibit paintings/murals from floor to ceiling. Great for kids, very educational, my 80+ Mom said she always wanted to go see it so we did & it was fun...

Absolutely love this place, perfect for kids and adults. It's an interactive science, nature, and history museum with gorgeous art installations. Teaches you all about the coastal environment, habitats, animals, and natives. It's got movies and even a slide. There's an awesome gift shop with a periscope so you can view the surrounding areas and a Cafe across the boardwalk. Great place to take the kids and spend the day! Adults $8 entry kids under 5 are free. Can't remember the other fees but they are worth it. Bathrooms inside as well

I went here with my daughter on her 9th birthday. She had a blast! I think the Umpqua Discovery center is an excellent place for any occasion. Especially for history learning purposes. Reedsport has an incredible amount of history!

I spent about an hour here. $8 might be at the top end of what this smallish "museum" might be worth. However, the layout is really clever and the murals were absolutely top-notch. Looking at the beautiful murals almost makes this museum cross over into art gallery. Kudos to the artist!

Fun exhibits with lots of interactive activities. The lady at the counter was nice. I wish there was more places to sit down.

Boat ramp, parking lot, bath rooms at a park with businesses an museum. Clean with a pleasant view of the river. Good for a travel break or study of history and ecology. Boardwalk on piers. Road continues past railroad bridge, through industrial area, under 101, and back into town by the Oregon Dunes Visitors Center.

It is an interesting place. It is a great place to bring children. It is right on the water. There is a viewing ereas . It has a totem pole. There are hand carved benches. The museum wasn't open it opened at ten o'clock. There are restaurants close by.

A nice regional museum of local and natural history located on the Umpqua River in Reedsport.
You will find two exhibit halls, a gift shop and a theatre.
The first hall features the history of the region from the native Kuuich tribe, to the early explorers and the pioneers, and life in an early Tidewater Town.
The Tidewaters & Time Hall is very interesting with the history of the Chinese in the local canneries.
The second hall is on the local animals and natural history such as the sand dunes.
A indoor trail takes you through the different environment such an estuary, a forest, a mountain meadow, the dunes and a weather station.
The Pathway to Discovery Hall is very interesting with information on bears, elk, clouds, and an education room with videos.
Outside is a Totem Pole from an old mill that was carved by Lelooska.
You can walk around the boardwalk to view the river and the bridge.
Currently open 11AM -4PM, Wednesday - Saturday.
A cafe is next to the museum.
A great place to spend an afternoon in Reedsport.
Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park is a sought-after destination owing to its picturesque hiking trails amidst stunning sand dunes, well-stocked freshwater lakes with boat ramps and 167 campsites. One can revel in nature's beauty and still have access to modern amenities like hot water, clean restrooms and accommodations.
We loved our stay! Most camp sites have quite a bit of privacy with large trees and bushes in between. We stayed near the playground and welcome center. Our site was clean, quiet and very dark at night. The welcome center had firewood, ice, fire starter, maps, and cool information about the natural wildlife. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. There are many trails to ride long distances on bikes and even more for hiking. Many campers had 4wheelers and dune bikes to ride the many open sand dunes. There are two lakes nearby that are somewhat easy to access with a bit of walking or riding but well worth it. One lake is against the dunes which makes for shallow/lukewarm water play even in October.
We saw birds, rabbits, chipmunks, and had an unfortunate few hours of dealing with termite swarms around our campsite.
This campground and park is beautiful and peaceful!

Otherwordly! Such a fun place to explore the dunes. Easy to get to, easy to navigate. Good signage, clean restrooms. You can buy a parking pass from an automated kiosk.
Angie Marie — Google review
This is a beauty. Lots of lakes and sand dunes and trails and cool camp sites and people. And just S. of Florence, a bustling small city, makes Honeyman the best.
On the negative side, bees can be really bothersome this time of year. If allergic, take appropriate steps to minimize risk. And as always, have fun! That's why you're there. Huge day use/ picnic area. Campers kids have awesome playground.
Peter Dilger — Google review
Places to camp or picnic for the day. $5/day parking fee. Bathrooms are always clean. You can rent little kayaks, they usually have an assortment of life jackets by the little swimming area. My dad used to come here when he was a teenager, so he would bring my mom and I when I was a kid. Now, I'm bringing my little family!

Trees of Mystery is a roadside attraction located in Klamath, California, on U.S. Route 101, not far from the California/Oregon border. It is a popular tourist destination, known for its giant redwood trees, Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statues, and its variety of attractions.
Here are some interesting facts about Trees of Mystery:
The park was founded in 1946 by John Detweiler, who was inspired by the beauty of the redwoods.
The park's name comes from the many unusual tree formations found on the property, including the Cathedral Tree, the Brotherhood Tree, the Candelabra Tree, and the Elephant Tree.
The park's Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statues are the largest in the world. They are 50 feet tall and 30 feet wide, respectively.
Trees of Mystery offers a variety of attractions, including hiking trails, a museum, a gift shop, and a variety of shows and exhibits.
The park is open year-round, but the best time to visit is during the spring or fall, when the weather is mild.
Redwood trees are the tallest and oldest living organisms on Earth. They can grow up to 300 feet tall and live for over 2,000 years. Redwood trees are found only along the Pacific Coast of North America, from southern Oregon to northern California.
Redwood trees are important for the environment. They provide habitat for many different species of plants and animals, and they help to clean the air and water. Redwood trees are also a popular tourist destination, and they help to support the local economy.
If you are looking for a unique and unforgettable experience, I recommend visiting Trees of Mystery. It is a great place to learn about redwood trees and to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Coast.
Here are some additional tips for planning your visit to Trees of Mystery:
The park is open from 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week.
There is a $20 admission fee for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for children ages 6-12. Children under 5 are free.
The park offers a variety of hiking trails, ranging from easy to challenging.
The museum at Trees of Mystery has exhibits on the history of the redwoods, the local Native American tribes, and the park's attractions.
The park also has a gift shop, a restaurant, and a variety of shows and exhibits.
I hope you enjoy your visit to Trees of Mystery!

Stayed here in June with extended family over 4 campsites and rented the picnic ramada. We all came at different times over the weekend and the staff at the park was so helpful and patient with us! We rented a full hook up site (#15) for our 29 ft Class C with tow vehicle. Sites in this park tend to be very close to each other but some are more private than others due to the amount of vegetation. #15 and #47 were exactly back to back with just a log in between. Thankfully we had great neighbors. We also rented tent site #16 which had #49 and #51 right behind it. We also rented the yurt #17 which was pretty awesome. It was the most private site. It is dog-friendly. And we rented tent site #56 –there was a lot of brush between it and the yurt. All sites have a pavement pad, a dirt tent area, a picnic table and a fire pit.
You can easily walk (3 minutes) from the registration check in to the dunes parking lot which is day use. The overnight camping permit includes day use fees at the dunes, Clearwox Lake and Whoahink Lake. Both lakes are gorgeous. Whoahink is known for being a great diving lake. There’s a diving course with things to see and the water is very clear. Weather for early June was perfect and not many mosquitoes. Starlink had a good signal even though there were lots of trees. Since this park is so huge, there are lots of different areas. The area is the back is near the OHV trail so there tended to be more trailers back there and it was much more open.
The OHV trail at Honeyman is closed through the summer and so are some of the beaches to walking and dogs. There is a cool map that shows which areas are open to what activities. We were able to find beach access for the dogs to run off-leash that was separate from the OHV area.

Great place to visit just for the day, or if you're able to find a campsite tons to do at the park. Just outside of town of Florence. Nice to go camping and then go grab dinner in town if you don't feel like cooking that night. Very close to the beach. It will very quickly become your favorite place to schedule for the seasonal getaway.

This is a pretty good Oregon State Park. Great spot if you’re an ATV or off-roader, or sand scooter person…. Or whatever they call those LOUD sand dune buggies now a-days.
No Beach Access.
Nice clean newly remodeled restrooms with free showers.
No security and no personal at the gate. Anyone can come in and steal your stuff. We didn’t have any problems, but apparently it’s somewhat common as there are warnings posted.
Nice welcome center with maps, information and friendly humans.

Riding the dunes!
We ride the dunes typically twice a month. Over the last few years we have stayed at Honeyman a few times. Nice campground with easy dune access.
Can easily navigate a 40 ft toy hauler through the campground- no low branches or anything like that.
We stayed in H loop!

From all I'm hearing and experiencing this State Park is in high demand much of the season..but as luck would have it, it's open all year round. There's plenty of time to get a taste of nature accompanied with all your modern conveniences like hot water, showers, restrooms, toilet paper and squeaky clean sites and accommodations... there's trails to lakes, dune's, and if the mood strikes you're 5 minutes from the town of Florence. Florence is a nice, clean town, quiet, and has everything ( except Starbucks) for whatever needs you have. Minutes away from your local grocery & gas station... movie theater or personalized family owned diner...you won't be disappointed.
Sweet Creek Falls was one of my favorite experiences in all of Oregon! The beautiful collection of waterfalls is relatively easy to hike but has so much beauty contained in all the nuances up the river! We only found this spot thanks to having too much time between locations. We shot a lot of waterfalls on this trip but the final waterfall on this journey was the most lovely we found the entire time. If you're a waterfall chaser this is the spot to experience!

My favorite place. Best Month to go is January, after heavy rains. Trail was not as bad as I expected after last week's wind storm. One of the bridges was slightly damaged, not too bad. Gorgeous all the way up. For safety, always use a walking stick, watch your step. Everybody no matter how old you are can trip and land in the creek!

The Siuslaw River Bridge is a historic drawbridge with ornate architecture located in Florence, Oregon. It was built in 1936 as part of the WPA project during the Great Depression. The bascule bridge spans over the Siuslaw river and offers picturesque views of the sand dunes. Its Egyptian-style spires and gothic-looking arches make it one of the most visually stunning bridges on the Oregon coast.
Love scenic Florence, Oregon! The bridge is beautiful, the sand dunes, river... all beautiful! A small, clean strolling town with interesting shops, galleries and great food! (Try some Oregon beers on tap while you're there).

Fun day at the beach. Funny how the onshore wind brought the gloomy clouds, yet 1 mile inland was blue skies and 15 degrees warmer. Check your weather and look for days with offshore winds. Lots of fun off-road vehicles around.

Definitely worth visiting to catch the sunset. It's a bit of a hike to go up and then down a dune to get to the beach, but worth it. Just be careful when driving down Sand dunes Rd; there are gargantuan potholes.
Siew Law — Google review
I have always liked it here lots of good memories over the years playing in the sand and teasing the waves. I didn't see any starfish this time though and also seen some dead seagulls on the beach it's sad to see this happen. All things considered still a fun place to be.

It was different experience to look out while panorama view.
Green trees and some kind of unknown names of plants a lot for front view after climbing sand uphill a bit but little bit stiff
It will be totally compensate all of effort by scenic view for 360 degree
Senior and kids should be tough to climbing then recommend other day use area ,

If you feel like eating, climbing on all 4s, bathing in, and overall just living with sand on you for the next decade....plus having the wind use the sand to rip your skin off. .this is the beach for you! Haaaaa
Seriously though, the beach itself is so pretty once you make it over the path and down the dunes. It's getting back to your path that is difficult and near impossible.
Dog friendly.
Free.
Extremely windy!! Probably NOT infant or small dog friendly because of the sand and wind.
Go further down the road and there is a pier and a smaller beach area that is much better for them. Still windy but not as bad. Plus they can see the guys crabbing and picking oysters from what seems like the middle of the lake.
Do not choose this spot for the sunset though. Best to go over by the Sea Lion cave for that.

Came here to work for the day (June 2023) and walk by the beach during my break. The toilets weren't working at that time, unsure of the current status. Was fairly empty during the week, but I'm sure it gets busier on weekends. National park pass covers the parking fee. Sand hill to go over and access the beach

Darlingtonia State Natural Site is a protected area that boasts a unique ecosystem where the rare native cobra lily thrives - this carnivorous plant feeds on insects. It's worth taking a detour from the main highway to explore this fascinating location. Visitors can enjoy a short walk through the woods and observe these captivating plants, even during winter. This nature preserve also offers picnic tables and pit toilets for convenience. Additionally, there's a trail featuring native pitcher plants that are equally impressive.
Really cool detour off the main highway to see some truly fascinating carnivorous plants. A short walk into the woods leads you to this other world where these things cover the ground - even in the winter! Highly recommend for any nature-lover looking for an interesting stop whole visiting the coast.

Very small parking lot can sometimes get crowded for a few. Most people don't stay too long though. Bathroom building at the parking lot and picnic tables for a snack break.
Fascinating area. Very short walk to the observation deck. I like how they have signs explaining about the area and plants.
Tends to be sunnier than the coast if it's a foggy day. A cute stop while in Florence.
Sea Lion Caves is a privately owned wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary that offers tours. This attraction features sea lions that can be observed in their natural habitat while enjoying the beauty of the area. Visitors will also find informational signs, exhibits, and an awe-inspiring cave to explore. The sounds and smells of the sea lions provide a unique experience for those who visit this attraction. Although there may be crowds during peak season, off-season visits offer a more relaxed atmosphere to enjoy this tourist destination.
Very cool experience. I loved the Sea Lion Caves as much as I loved the history and construction of the elevator. There was nobody else there when I went so that played a big role in my overall enjoyment. In the summer I bet it's a mad house. Lots of Sea Lions because it's the winter months. 💙

The sea lions are really cool. Definitely worth checking out.
The facilities are all really well maintained, and the signs are interesting to read.
It does smell, though, which is to be expected from a bunch of any animals, but still good to keep in mind. If you have a hard time with smells it might be hard to enjoy.
The pathways are also decently steep ramps, which can tire you out quickly. If you don't feel like taking a steep walk or might struggle with it, it's an important thing to understand.

The sea lions weren't in the day we were there, but it isn't a zoo. It's a natural habitat. The cave is very cool! It's super interesting, beautiful with incredible views. We saw lots of sea lions just off of shore. Just outside of the cave.
Wonderful gift shop that didn't feel "touristy". This place isn't a tourist trap, it's a wonderful, natural, protected treasure.
Go check it out! If they know the sea lions aren't in, they will tell you before you purchase tickets. But I tell you, even without the sea lions, you will love it!

This was a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon! Lots of good info about sea lions and lots of fun watching them hang out in the cave. It's definitely a tourist trap thing, but I appreciated being able to see the sea lions in their natural habitat doing sea lion things. If I didn't have my kids with me I would have stayed longer and tried to see if I could spot any whales, but alas my kids got antsy.

Great views. Unique experience, the caves are so cool and interesting. They are very well maintained. There weren’t any sea lions inside the cave due to great weather outside but we did see all of them from the view point.

Pretty cool place to see a large number of sea lions! An elevator will take you down the cave (~3/4 mins). The views are amazing once you enter the cave, smells pretty strong once you enter but then you get used to it for rest of your visit. Good spot to visit on US-1.

I almost didn’t do this because I thought it would be a tourist trap, but I actually had a ton of fun and found it gorgeous, with some nice informational signs and little exhibits. The cave itself is awe inspiring, and the smell and cacophony of the sea lions is weirdly enjoyable.
If it was really crowded I might not have liked it as much, but in the off season it was very chill.
Worth the price of admission for sure (which was my concern when I saw it was 16 dollars).

It’s a cool place to see sea lions hanging out in cave. Though we could able to see only 2-3 sea lions inside cave but tons of them outside in a hangout place on the shore. I was told that more sea lions will be seen in the cave during winter seasons.
Sathish Jayapal — Google review
A must-visit, truly a standout during our road trip. Just brace yourself for the lively symphony of seals in the cave – and yes, a bit of a distinct aroma too ;-) It's fascinating to observe the sea lions gathering in clusters as they gracefully navigate the waters. On that particular day, we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a few whales in the ocean as well. The only enhancement suggestion would be to create a pedestrian island as you cross the highway from the parking lot.
Michael Gronovius — Google review
It's a beautiful cave, but if you are going to see sea lions check before you make the drive. They are not in the cave year-round. It's an expensive trip to see an empty cave.
That being said, it is privately owned and it costs money to maintain it.
If you have grown up around the ocean and/or you live a few hours away, I'd wait until the sea lions are in the cave.
If you are not from or near a coastal regions and the ocean is a new or a rare experience it's definitely worth it, sea lions or not. There's also a look-out spot where you get a clear shot of the light house. It's definitely an experience worth investing in if it new to you.
If you go when the sea lions are not in the cave, drive to Newport after. Across from Ripley Believe it or not there is a pier where you can see, hear, and smell them close up. They're smelly, but worth it there's also, an ice cream/coffee shop where you can sit and watch the sea lions.

We went in the off season so little to no wait to get in. Sea lions already left for the season but we were able to go down to the caves and look around. Greats views from many spots within the walk to the caves and within the cave itself. Restrooms are available on site. There is a nice gift shop that sales homemade fudge. There is plenty of parking available in front of the shop and additional parking across the street. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours here.

The girl at the front desk did a good job giving us a heads-up that we may not see sea lions because it’s feeding season. They took $2 off each of our ticket prices and offered a rain check for one year to come back. While we appreciated this, $2 off ended up feeling like not enough off once we went down there. There just wasn’t much to the attraction overall. (We felt half off would’ve been more appropriate.) The rain check is cool, but we’re out of town (as I would imagine many visitors are) so we won’t be able to use it unfortunately. The gift shop was cute though!

Sea Lion Caves is quite a Accomplishment. The elevator shaft cut out of solid rock is 215 feet down. There were lots of sea lions in cave when there.

Honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect when we stopped to check it out. We took the elevator down to the caves and the sea lions really are quite amazing. There were over 100 sea lions there when we visited. Most were on the rocks, but a few were playing in the waves. My skeptical wife enjoyed it too!

It was an average experience, not quite what I expected. However, the lady who sold me the tickets was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The panoramic shots were great.

The views are breathtaking! There were people but not too many. The people who work there seem to be excited to be there, and it shows in their brilliant customer service.

Except that you want to see the sea lion. This is great looking place you can come and walk around and see beautiful ocean and listen the wave and stuff. I came to the wrong season tho so no sea lion that day.
The Heceta Head Lighthouse is a functioning 19th-century lighthouse on the coast, which has been transformed into a scenic bed and breakfast with six rooms. Visitors can take a short hike to the top for breathtaking views of the surroundings, which are very well-kept. Although some guests may find the bathrooms in outdoor spaces unpleasant, it is still worth visiting this popular tourist attraction.
Wow! Just beautiful! It's just a shirt hike to see this amazing piece of American History still working.
Got to your the ground floor as the upper floor is not built for large and continuous crowds. Still worth the visit, the view and fresh air!!!

This place is beautiful! The walking trail alone is full of history! The lighthouse at the end of the trail opens to a gorgeous view of the ocean, and going inside is an experience itself. The park rangers there were very knowledgeable and you could tell they weren't there to collect a check. You can't go up the stairs, but it's still such a cool experience. You should definitely stop by if you're in the area or looking for vacation spots.

Really worth the stop. A secluded beach surrounded by forest and a 19th century lighthouse overlooking the water. There is a path (about 1/2 mile) to get to both the gift shop and lighthouse itself, which may make it difficult for older folks and handicapped individuals as the path is uphill, however you can see the lighthouse and take some worthwhile photos at the base parking area. There is also a five dollar fee which I think is worth the time! Definitely a beautiful location!

Fascinating stop on a stretch of coastal highway in northwestern Oregon. This lighthouse is operational and has historical significance in the settlement of the western United States. The views on a clear day are magnificent and breathtaking. The hike to the lighthouse from the parking area/beach is navigable on foot but suggested for the rested not the weary.

We visit the lighthouse all the time! Fairly easy walk up the trail from beach parking lot to lighthouse with Guesthouse and Souvenir shop midway to rest or explore. View from lighthouse grounds is phenomenal. Tours inside the lighthouse (when available) offer rich, informative history of the building and lifestyle of the keepers. And of course, the beach below offers wonderful low tide pools and caves to explore. Always a great adventure!

Beautiful!!! Short hike to the top. Excellent views. Very well manicured. A must see!!!
FYI the bathrooms are disgusting but that wouldn’t stop me from coming back. Most outdoor spaces like this are. If you aren’t comfortable using the restroom in a stinky, filthy bathroom you may want to plan accordingly

Fantastic experience.
Highly recommend. And if you get lucky you'll get the nice lady that gave the tour of the old lighthouse keepers quarters. What an amazing history lesson! Lighthouse is large and great quality. I'm glad it was open on the bottom floor to see up. Be prepared for any kind of chilly wind or fog at any time. We were not prepared and had to improvise at the gift shop. Has portable restroom stalls at the top and full bathroom buildings at the bottom. Sometimes the main parking lot gets full.
Worth the trip and time!

Loved this place. You have to hike a decent way to get to it, but well worth the effort. Beautiful views and the people that work there are very informative. The lighthouse is beautiful. A word of advice, if you by the Shirt and hat combination, $17.00, make sure you choose a shirt size 3 or 4 sizes bigger than you need, it shrunk so much I can't wear it but at least I have a new hat!!! 😉

This is a great place to go visit. If you like history in good views, that's on great little beach, find The Plan. The water go look at the caves on Maryland edges. You from tight polls at low tide. Nice little heights up to caretaker home and lighthouse. Great for taking pictures, we keep coming back. You can't go wrong

Very cool historic lighthouse on the Oregon coast. A 0.5 mile walk from the parking lot just off 101. $5 to park and access. You can’t go up to the top of the lighthouse, but the walk and the location offer some great views.

Drove up the coast from Florence on a Tuesday afternoon. Parked on the beach and hiked up the 1/2 mile trail to the B&B Light Keepers House and the on to the Lighthouse.
Beautiful kinda foggy day. Both places were closed but the view was fantastic!

Heceta Head lighthouse is beautiful and very much worth the stop. There is a $5 free which is paid through a credit card only kiosk. (Master card and Visa) You're given a ticket which must be displayed on your vehicle's dash.
You then begin the very easy hike to the lighthouse with several information stands along the way. The lighthouse itself is very enchanting. We went on a cloudy day that allowed us to see the functioning light. They do not allow you to go up to the light; however, you can go inside. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. They told us about the lighthouse in such a way the kiddos listened happily.
There is a gift shop with plenty of wonderful souvenirs to choose from as well as a beach that is absolutely beautiful.
We highly recommend stopping by the lighthouse on your journey along the Oregon coast.

This is a very nice stop along the 101. Along with the lighthouse there is a very nice beach area below a large bridge. Very picturesque and beautiful. There is a $5 day use parking fee. It's a 15 minute hike to the lighthouse. Although the park is open until 9 who knows when the lighthouse itself closes. The gift shop closes at 6 but the light house closed before that since we had arrived before then. The beach is a busy place but most people have cleared out by late afternoon. There is also a creek that drains in to the ocean at this place. There are a handful of picnic benches around the parking lots of you want to picnic.

We spent one night here and it was absolutely perfect! The staff was so welcoming when we arrive. The wine and cheese the first night was so nice. The 7 course chef made breakfast was delicious and all fresh and the veggies and herbs are grown on site. The best part was the sound of the waves all night long. I totally recommend this place! I will definitely return.

Walked the trail up to the lighthouse with my partner and a couple friends. I was enchanted by the place and definitely would recommend. We got really lucky that the timing worked out for parking. The lot is small and the demand seemed pretty high. When we left, there was a huge line. It seems getting there before 11 AM helped us but even then we pulled into the last available spot. Parking was $5.
The views were gorgeous with the trail itself rather easy to walk. It was a rewarding experience. They have a nice little gift shop as well.

Very nice park and trail leading up to the light house! The grounds are very well kept and there is a gift shop half way up to the light house! Unfortunately we didn’t see the ghost that supposedly haunts the house 👻👻

Fairly long hike up hill but worth it. Friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. You can't go up in the tower but you can visit inside the base. Stunning views at ground level. You do have to pay $5 to park by using a kiosk. Gift shop was great and they also have snacks and drinks for purchase as well.

Great place to stop and stretch your legs on the way up and down the coast. It's about a half a mile hike up to the lighthouse from the parking lot with a stop at the gift shop about halfway up the trail .

Be sure to make it to the lighthouse before 3 pm as the doors to the lighthouse itself closes. It's a half mile walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse. Please know it's uneven ground. Trek lightly. Beautiful views. Bathrooms are always a long wait, if you have to go, go before you visit.

Great little beach under a cool bridge next to a river and below the lighthouse. Go for the waves, birds and sealions. Stay for the views and the great walk through the woods up to the light house.

From the parking lot to the lighthouse, go up along the Trail and there is another trail from the lighthouse to the top of the edinous. It was so good to go for a walk with my dog, and there was a beach right in front of the parking lot, so it was good to play ball. Fee area of $5.00 for parking. A good place to take a break on a winding drive. If you're in a hurry, you can finish the tour in 30 minutes and look around here and there in about an hour. The bridge from the beach was also very good to take pictures. It's a place worth more than $5.00 parking. fee ( annual pass $30.00 two year $50.00 for all of state park of Oregon )

A five dollar parking fee gets you a beautiful beach, and a great walk to see the lighthouse and Bed & Breakfast. Gorgeous views for pictures. Don't miss this stop if you're traveling near Florence. There could be a shortage of parking. I would recommend going early or later in the day.

Just a 1/2 mile walk down. It’s not a super easy walk but not horrible either. Not just for tge young and fit. I’m a chubby 56 year old woman, and it just took me longer, both up and down. Wear good grippy shoes because the ground is uneven once you are on the rocks and off the stairs. They warn you not to get too close, do you don’t get swept in. There are tide pools but they seemed too close to the water which seemed too unpredictable for my comfort.

Great place to stop along the 101. UNFORTUNATELY, we went at a pretty bad time. Seen recommendations to go at various times, but we went at low-ish tide, and there were not that many cool rushes of water. Our recommendation would be to go at incoming high tide. Probably an hour or two before tide is at its highest.

This was a huge highlight of my trip. I absolutely loved the Devil’s Churn located on the Pacific Ocean. It was fascinating and I loved watching it. Even though it looked dangerous if you accidentally fell in. I talked to a local woman while I was there, she told me it was calm the day I was there. She said that sometimes the water would splash all the way up to the highest point of observation.
Located in Yachats, Oregon, The Drift Inn Hotel and Restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere with comfortable rooms, some featuring ocean views or shared bathrooms. The on-site bar and restaurant provide a casual dining experience for guests of all ages, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. With its family-friendly environment and live music events, it's a popular choice among visitors exploring the central Oregon coast. Nearby attractions include the Alsea River and Alsea Bay in Waldport for fishing enthusiasts.
Oh my goodness, hands down the best place to eat on the Coast. The menu is huge and so extremely diverse. We ordered so much food and shared it. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. We even had kids with us who are not fans of seafood and they were very pleased with what they ordered. A must...absolutely a must if you are visiting. The town itself is awesome too. So many gems around from coffee shops to dining to shopping!!! I will definitely make a trip here to eat anytime I visit the Coast!!!!

Very cozy, relaxing, quite elegant dining ambience, with live music! Good service.
The crab cakes were very tasty. Mushroom and sausage pizza was a bit thick in cheese for our flavor. Cesar salad was prepared right. I liked their homemade lemonade.
Live music from a gentleman playing guitar in a well set stage added relaxing vibe to the dining experience.
Without reservation, we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. But the hotel’s gift shop right at the entrance hallway could help make your wait time go by fast.

We ate at the restaurant after a lengthy wait. However, after the wait, we truly enjoyed ourselves. The heated patio was an awesome place to sit! Loved the design. Our server was delightful and on point. He cheered everyone up around him. Everyone in the section was talking about his energy. "Right on!" Food was delicious!

I really liked my Caribbean cache, so many different varieties of seafood in it! I had to take a bug box to go and had another 2 meals.
The mom’s potpie was delicious, tasted like cottage food in an old town. Home feeling flavor.
Would like to come back and try other things too!

We ate here twice this week. The first time had a limited menu due to a kitchen issue but had fish and chips which were great, and a shrimp cocktail but the shrimp were a tad flabby. Went back later in the week and shared crab cakes and calamari both of which were great but calamari, best I’ve ever had! Simple but interesting salad. Look forward to a return visit. Prices and portions were good!

It was great! We went to the restaurant (I recommend getting there early. The wait times can get long during the school holidays.) Great food, dishes for every pallette with gluten free and vegan options. Great service. The wait staff made my kids, my boyfriend, and I feel welcome and once seated we never had to wait long before being checked on. The Decor was awesome, too. Great little coastal place to eat and vibe. 10/10

We LOVED our meal here! Fantastic vibe: we loved the decor, the eccentric history of the place, and then a talented blues musician playing live music in the corner. This restaurant offers a surprisingly high number of gluten free options, including the crab cakes - you only get two, but they are meaty and delish! My partner had a halibut burger, happy to note the generous slab of halibut (no skimping on the seafood, we love that). Also steamed clams, oyster shooters, and then chocolate mousse for dinner. Servers were friendly, prompt, and really helpful in our menu decisions. 10/10 would recommend!

We ate at the Drift and it was absolutely fantastic! They have a beautiful, outdoor space that is dog friendly. But the highlight is the gluten free food. We had the gluten free fish and chips and gluten free crab cakes. Everything is fresh, excellent quality and homemade. Even the amazing sauces are made in house. They also have perfect cocktails. The prices are good, the food is delicious and the service was lovely. This is a must stop on the Oregon Coast.

The food was delicious, however the service was not up to standard. For a 20% gratuity automatically in the check, you’d expect better service, however, unfortunately it’ll be 3 business days before you get a waitress to come over to your table. It was, with no exaggeration, 20 minutes to get water, 40 minutes to get our food, and 25 minutes to get our check AFTER we requested it, not including wait time to get the waitress to come and ask if we want the check.
Food and decor was good though!

The cutest little restaurant, such a beautiful property. Lots of decor and interesting things to look at. Very busy place. Food was good, price was steep but most places like this are. The sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked and crispy. Burger was massive, with fresh avocado and lettuce. My only complaint is how long it took. We had reservations so we were seated quickly, but it took a long time for anyone to come and take our orders, and a long time for our food. Waitress only asked about drinks once and we all could have used some more water or refills. Mandatory 20% tip.

This was our first time here and it was busy! But our wait was less than 10 minutes then we were seated outside in the garden area. 80° day on the 6th of October! They boast quite an interesting, organic, menu. Our meal was excellent in taste, quality and plated up attractively. In my opinion our food was a 10. The atmosphere a 10. Our waiter I rate a 3 as they took our order, brought our meal but never saw them again . I had to personally go find our waiter to pay our bill as we waited quite some time for it. The crowd had dispersed by then. But the Huge Issue I am against is the Drift Inn has now put into place a Standard 20% Gratuity on All bills automatically. Many restaurants have adopted this practice now-( not all ) and I don't agree/believe or support it ! We willingly are exceptional tippers unless the food/service is horrible. I worked in food service for years so I totally understand tipping but do not force this on me. Which is exactly why I will not return here unless they stop the Automatic Gratuity practice.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on our way to the Redwoods. The place is quaint, the food mediocre but the service needed work. Not horrible, just needed work. Three times my husband was asked (twice by the same server) if he wanted more coffee. I asked for a little more syrup for my waffle, never seen her again 😆.
Then to top off the morning we elected to reduce the tip but was charged a $7.00 tip anyway. Geesh

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is. We came here after a recommendation from a local. We had a very short wait to be seated on a busy Saturday night. We immediately loved the atmosphere and especially the live music. Our server, Jordan, was THE BEST! Genuinely friendly and attentive and when there was a small hiccup with availability on a menu item he immediately made it right. The service was also incredibly efficient given how busy they were. The food was out of this world. Crab ravioli was on point and my steak was perfectly cooked. The desserts were phenomenal as well! We had such a fantastic experience at dinner that we came back for breakfast. They again knocked it out of the park with the service (I forgot our servers name ) and food! The Driftwood crepes are a must!

The eating at the Drift Inn was outstanding! I usually don't rate this high but the whole out-to-dinner experience at the Drift Inn was awesome. Really can't say enough. Lewis was our waiter and he was superb. He suggested great drinks for wife and I based on a couple of our criteria. He really kept close tabs on us without being intrusive. Very good sense of humor too. The other staff members were on it! Constantly serving and clearing tables. The atmosphere and ambience was rustic with background soft music from guitarist. But I can't say enough about the food....the taste, freshness, quality, and even the portions. It was all very tasty, especially for the price. Very reasonable. We'll absolutely return during our next trip. Highly rated!

Stopped by for a very late (1:30-2pm) lunch on New Years Day. Staff was very friendly, wait was only 10min (looks like we missed a big rush). Food was delicious and I loved the atmosphere.
If you’re familiar with McMenamins (most are in the Portland area), this has a similar feel with the quirky local art and revival of older/historical buildings, but the food and service are great at Drift Inn! Can’t wait to come back and stay in the lodgings and see the live music

We were lucky to be seated in the outdoor (heated) garden, at the cafe-height seats, around and over the Koi pond. So peaceful! The live music was relaxing, and just right for the chill vibe. We had the salmon special (walnut crusted) and crab ravioli. Unbelievably good... I will drive over from Eugene just to have this ravioli again! The staff was welcoming and well trained. We appreciated that the tip was included in the total, guaranteeing that all the staff will be better paid for their fine service. We'll be back soon! [Please excuse the messy bowl with the ravioli... we ate quite a bit before I remembered to take a photo. ] Oh... the bread and side salads were amazing as well. No complaints here! 👌

Ordered 2 open face breakfast sandwiches (sausage and vegetarian). Sandwiches were good: good size, nice flavor of eggs, sausage, and cheese (more than one egg maybe?). Replaced the meat with extra cheese without an extra cost. Potatoes were nicely cooked (crispy outside, soft inside), good portion. Biscuits had grill marks that were over toasted / burnt which I found unpleasant. One of the sandwiches came wrapped in paper which stuck to the cheese. The other sandwich did not come wrapped in paper. We got 1 pepper and 4 salt packets. There was an automatic 20% tip added to the to go order, which I found strange (I worked in a restaurant as a waitress). They said it was for the kitchen and asked for an additional tip for the waitress (interesting since I found her to be a bit unfriendly). The waitress at the bar seemed put upon that no one was available to take our to go order. She asked another staff person if the to go person was there to take our order and the woman responded no. The to go order seemed to be an inconvenience for her.

Wow. This place is absolutely fantastic for food. My mother and I went here for lunch and I ended up getting a dish called The Artist, and they got Mom's Pot Pie. Both dishes were divine. On a spur of the moment trip to Yachats, we landed here for a late lunch early dinner. There was a bit of a wait, but I am so glad we stayed!!
Seafood galore, tacos, burgers, and even vegetarian and vegan options. There is something for everyone here!
The restaurant is beautiful, cozy and eclectic, and not very noisy for as open and large as it is. There's also outdoor patio seating which looked nice.
The staff were all kind, fun to talk to, accommodating, and generally just appeared to enjoy working there even though they were really busy.
Our order/experience:
My grandmother, who said she wasn't hungry yet, ordered steamed clams off of the appetizer menu for something small. She was surprised to get a giant bowl filled with clams that were so good, she was suddenly hungry and ate every last bite.
My husband had the pork belly tacos and the meat was perfectly cooked - tender, smokey, and all around mouth watering. There was a slight issue with his order initially, but the staff was awesome and everything was fixed quickly.
I ordered the Lucy Blue Burger: blue cheese, bacon jam(!!), and apple slices on a burger and I'm a sucker for bacon and blue cheese. When I ordered, the waitress asked if I wanted it with beef, chicken, halibut, steak, or a vegetarian option. I hadn't read that far on the menu so was surprised by the options. I'm not normally thrilled about grilled chicken on a sandwich or burger but (seeing my surprise) the waitress said she likes it with the chicken, so I went for it. I have no regrets. The chicken was tender and moist and lent well to the bacon jam and blue cheese. SO GOOD!!

The food was good, but the service was NOT. They automatically add 20% to everything, including takeout - which would be fine, except the waitress acted like she was getting a good tip either way! She was terrible. She didn't come back after taking our order - no refills, not to see how the food was, to see if we needed anything, and not even to see if we wanted dessert! We sat for a long time after being done eating, waiting to order dessert. We spoke to her as she walked past a couple of times and she ignored us!
She took so long to return to our table that I just said forget it or we will never get out of here! I overheard her telling the table next to us that one time someone complained about the 20% automatic tip. In a very sarcastic voice she said "oh no! Someone didn't get a refill on their coffee! Gasp!"
This is the problem with an automatic tip. I am a good tipper, and don't mind having it added - with the option to alter it if needed. She didn't even let us see the bill! Just told me the total and told me that includes the 20% service charge.
I don't think I would return and didn't recommend the restaurant. The service FAR overshadowed the quality of the food.

Stopped by for dinner and live music. Busy restaurant with a fun atmosphere. The service was good and the staff were moving fast to keep up with all the diners! The Mexican salad and oysters were great! (Big salad!) Will definitely come back!

Absolutely adorable spot with great food. Location in adorable Yachats cannot be beat. The “pedal out” (hostel style) rooms with shared showers/bathrooms were comfy, clean, and quiet. A steal of a deal!

I didn’t need a big dinner so I ordered the crab cakes and jalapeño poppers. The cakes were child and the bacon was not hardly cooked on the poppers. I sent them both back as it was very disappointing.
Cakes came back tepid… parts of the bacon was cooked. I was so dissatisfied that I didn’t finish either.
$50 later….. I left unsatisfied.
I didn’t even purchase my swag because I was offended to spend that much money on virtually nothing.
Our waitress was nice, but didn’t offer any discount or other options for me.
EDIT: A 20% gratuity was automatically added to my bill. No choice!
I was so put off I forgot to take a photo of my food, so I included the receipt.
And, the seafood chowder my friend ordered was also tepid and not up to par.
Also, I ordered a double Jameson neat but clearly was served a single. 😩

The restaurant here is one of our favorites on our vacations on the Oregon coast. The atmosphere is superb, and the eclectic variety of food is outstanding. We make it a point to eat here a few times while on vacation, and it never disappoints. Being there during the music is an added treat!!!

We had a really nice lunch in the restaurant. Cobb Salad with grilled chicken and ice tea. Great food, atmosphere, and service. We didn't stay in the hotel, I live right up the street.

Food was good enough, veggies were a bit under done for my liking. But still good.
Scored by coming during the Celtic(?) festival where they had extended hours and live music!
Paddle Out rooms were about 15$ higher than what you get vs a cheap hotel. Nice and clean though. Bed was too soft for my preference though.
Would recommend both food and rooms if passing through.

Just had dinner there. They were slammed and our waiter was so great. I didn't get his name but he made sure I had my Spanish coffee, brought me extra bread, and he was running his @$$ off. I went to the restroom when our check came and didn't see him again but he was absolutely the best.
Food was great too!

We came here on a very busy holiday weekend, and had a 45 minute wait for a table. Thankfully there were some open bar seats!
I had the chicken romesco pasta and it was better than any Italian restaurants I've been to in the past year. We also tried a potato pizza which was surprisingly good. The Sticky Stigma was a refreshing take on a tiki drink.
Despite the large crowds the service was still fast and friendly and the food and drinks were great! Looking forward to stopping here again on my next trip along the coast.

I guess sometimes there is a wait to get in, but we were lucky. We came at 7:30 pm, no wait. Sat in their beautiful patio. It is so cozy and warm. Wooden tables, greenery, palm fans, heaters, and live music in the back ground. The owners are gluten-free, so they have a delicious blend of their own homemade breads, dressing, and tartar sauce. The best I have ever had. Their fish and chicken batter is the bomb!. We sharded the Crabs cakes, which were so very yummy. And the Hailbit fish and chips. Definitely enough for 2 to share. Comes with a little green salad. The fish was devoured! So good. They make their own desserts, so many to choose from. We went with the Rum Chocolate Moose, so velvety smooth and rich. What a wonderful birthday to me! We actually came back for lunch the next, on our way back to Washington.
Love this shop, the name, the aesthetic! Knowledgeable and informative owner working the counter, relaxed, friendly, atmosphere. This is a must if you're looking for traditional saltwater taffy or other specialty sweets made locally. The shop is just pack to the brim with treats giving it a very Wonka feel, which we loved! He didn't have a care it the world about us taking photos or video. Such a fun shop and a must stop for vacation treats! Would be slightly better if the non edible items were in a separate corner of the store, however you wouldn't want to disturb the whimsy of this place, which includes handmade puppets!

This is a fabulous locally owned candy shop with some awesome owner.. There chocolates are all handmade by them, and is the most amazing that I have ever had.. If your in Waldport swing on in, you won't be sorry!!

Great small museum detailing history of Alsea Bay and Waldport in the visitors center. Friendly staff with pride in their town. Beautiful location that seems to be overlooked for other nearby towns. The fireworks display on the 4th of July was excellent with small easy to negotiate crowds.

Local history and history of Oregon coast bridges. Excellent water access and fishing opportunity as well.
Dave Perry — Google review
Great location for this site, next to the water and good views. Have been here before and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Any questions you have they will have an answer or how to find out more.
Variety of brochures for entire coast and other areas of the state. Updated with newest features and details of local events.
Always a pleasure to stop here and get more information
Found out today that Alsea Bay is an estuary and is protected from dredging and the bay and river have almost 2,000 seals. We can see them when we cross the bridge and are always amazed at the numbers of them sunning on the sand islands when the tide is out.
Found out that about about 3 miles east on Highway 34 is an excellent opportunity for birding. Staff at interpretive center state the lake has good access and areas to observe birds and is also visited by tour buses for the variety of species.
Good spots for those who have a mobility problem like my husband has to be able to observe birds in and around the lake. Plan on going there in the near future.
Highly recommend this facility for the amount of information you can get and the pleasure of the staff.
This 4,101-ft. peak with sweeping views can be reached via a short hike from a nearby parking lot.
Beautiful place to visit and not to bad of a walk. I'm a heavy set girl and I made it to the very top and I will say it's very worth it!

Marys Peak is one of the wonderful places in the Corvallis, Philomath area. It is extremely accessible, with the ability to drive to the top and see a view at the parking lot.
From the parking lot the actual peak is just a short hike up a gravel road. The views on a clear day are amazing!
Having been up there on both foggy and sunny days, both are pretty but it is worth waiting for a nice day with high visibility.
There is the ability to hike to the top from a parking lot on the drop up. Takes a few hours but it worth the hike.
Parking is in a lot at the top, and requires a 5 dollar pass.

It’s a bit of a journey to get there if you’re driving all the way to the top but a great hike overall. There is a wider, less-steep paved road leading up to the top if you don’t want to hike through the woods.

Wonderful place for good views to the coast and over the Willamette when weather is clear. Upper part of the peak is a grassland and slopes to the north east have some novel plant communities for the area.

Nice little hike. Not bad for young kids. Just watch there footing going down hill. Hardest part was the drive if you get car sick.

Easy hike from the parking lot. Getting to the top is well worth the gradual sloping trail. There’s also a nice scenic trail I f you want a little more challenge located before top parking lot/next to the camp site.
Rod Estrabo — Google review
Great views. It’s about a 10 mile drive from the main road up to the top. Take your time driving up there. Road is narrow and winding. It’s all paved though.
Once you get to the top there’s tons of parking. Restrooms are at the parking lot as well. There is also a trail only accessible by foot that leads from the parking lot to the top where a radio tower sits that offers even more amazing views. There’s even a picnic table up at the top
Definitely will return.

Natural beauty..... when one side of the sky is night and on the other side you can see the sunrise that’s what Mary’s peak is all about . There is a parking lot but the best view is hiking through the trail to the peak where you not only see the exotic views but also the mesmerizing atmosphere above the clouds gazing stars and sun moon at the same time . But be prepared to grab all your blankets n winter wears as its shivering cold out there and yes the hiking is just about 15-20 mins .

The Oregon Coast Aquarium is a renowned 23-acre facility showcasing northwestern birds and fish, along with seals, sea lions, jellyfish, and a deepwater tank. Accredited as one of the country's top aquariums by major publications such as Coastal Living magazine and USA Today, it boasts over ten exhibits that include the largest seabird aviary exhibit in America and Passages of the Deep where Keiko, from Free Willy, once lived.
Our family had a great time at the aquarium! There are a few animal exhibits not open. We watched the sealions get fed and we all loved the tunnel of fish and sharks! There is a hands-on tide pool area where you get to touch sea creatures and learn more about them. It was over $100 for 6 of us. It was a fun time!

Very cute aquarium!! A couple of things were closed for construction or because of the pandemic, but still lots to see and a fun time! A little difficult in the outside parts if you use a mobility device, but still lots of things to see indoors. Very large gift shop too! Also the fossil exhibit that is currently there is so fun and informative.

A very nice place to enjoy the morning with the kids. My son enjoyed watching the seals and sea lions swim laps and play by the observation windows. There is also a great playground to help burn off some energy. I would suggest getting a spot early for any of the feedings or you're going to miss out. It didn't seem like there were too many people in the park but the crowd appeared from nowhere at feeding time. A big gift shop with something for everyone. Great fun.

Perfect place to spend the day with family. The exhibits inside are better than expected. I found there be a lot of information on the wildlife and aquatics the seals and other animals were quite adorable what we love. The most was the aquarium with the sharks that you could walk through it was very cool definitely worth the money not as big as a zoo perhaps but still it’s informative and you could spend a good amount of the day there.

I never pass up the chance to go to a new aquarium. We were in town for our wedding, and weren't sure if we wanted to go on one of our last days here or just hang out. I'm so glad we did. The shark tunnel was seriously lacking. Basically looked like a concrete box. Terrible lighting, made it very hard to see anything. The rest of the exhibits were beautiful. So vibrant and well decorated, so many different species. I could have spent hours at the touch pool, a great variety of things to interact with. The staff at the pools were friendly and knowledgeable. The landscape of the property is lovely, it's a great immersive experience. The gift shop was mostly well priced, with some overly expensive items here and there. Compared to my local aquarium, their prices were impressive!
We also had lunch at Jellyfish Cafe. The prices were good, and not overpriced compared to other places in the area. We all got the chicken strips. They were nice and crispy, but the fries were definitely the star of the show. They were so good and nicely seasoned. We were stuffed but couldn't seem to leave any on our plate!Food came out quickly. We loved sitting next to the moon jellyfish tank.

My rating is based solely on experience as I interacted very little with staff. Unfortunately this aquarium did not live up to our expectations. For the price we paid I assumed there would be more to see. We had better luck at the waterfront in Newport. If you want an entertaining and close encounter with marine life head there. The best part of the aquarium is the shark tunnel.
Holly Rutherford — Google review
It's under construction but still amazing. Dress warmly as half of it is outside. And you want to go outside to see the amazing under water tunnel exhibits with sharks! Buy a membership and then plan to visit more than 2 times to get your monies worth... plus they have a reciprocal membership agreement with many museums in Portland and Salem.

My wife and I went to the aquarium, and it was really neat! The aquarium was very well layed out, had just the right amount of stuff to see, and really fun to walk through. I recommend going if you haven't yet. The tunnels you walk through that are underground are pretty neat 👌!! It just really neat to see all the different marine life that is out in the ocean 😀. The lady that gave us our tickets was really friendly.

Oregon Coast Aquarium nestled along the stunning Pacific shoreline, offered my toddlers an amazing experience. They explored interactive exhibits that brought the coastal ecosystem to life, featuring a diverse array of sea creatures, from colorful tide pool inhabitants to majestic sharks. They loved the enchanting underwater tunnels providing a 360-degree view of the ocean realm. With a strong emphasis on marine conservation and education, the Oregon Coast Aquarium provided a memorable and educational experience for visitors of all ages. I loved the curated book collection for kids to read, along with the ones displayed for purchase. My kids felt that their favorite book, “Big Beautiful Ocean,” was brought to life.
My toddlers get excited when they see something from picture books in reality.

I don't know if I was unlucky but we waited a few hours in line and then ended up in a flood of people with limited space. I have hypersensitivity and get extremely overstimulated when lots of people are in one place with so much noise and movement, making it sort of difficult. From what I was able to see was fun and I really like seeing educators discuss poaching/over hunting and its effects on wildlife populations. There were lots of skulls and non aquatic animal information which was exciting for someone obsessed with zoology to be able to have such diverse information. The fauna swimming around were very unique and beautiful; the goofier looking ones really caught my attention, I love silly little critters.

A lovely aquarium and great for kids. I'd rate it 4.5 stars. It's easy to get lost in the rock formations. I think I spent a good chunk of my visit double backing trying to figure out if I missed something, and in the end coming out the wrong way. The glass tunnels are alot of fun and the highlight, according to everyone's photos. Having grown up with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, I'm a bit partial, but this is nice.
There is alot to look at, but even if you take your time it's over quickly. Currently a good chunk is under restoration, so you pay for the whole thing but see about 1/2 to 1/3 the park right now, bummer.
Last but not least, since there are alot of big exhibits, it's easy to miss the aquariums littlest friends.

Amazing aquarium for the whole family!
Lots of parking and ticket staff process you into Aquarium quickly.
Multiple great indoor and outdoor exhibits, filled with many staff and volunteers.
Indoor highlights are the touch and feel tanks and definitely the walk through tunnels, especially the shark area!
Outdoor highlights are the sea lion, sea otter, and the aviary. All are great!
There is also an expansive playground area for a wide age range of kids in the outdoor portion.
Multiple delicious food options suitable for the whole family. Plus a large gift shop.
Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this world-class Aquarium! Must visit!

This aquarium has a cafe and a jellyfish exhibit upon entry to the aquarium. The aquarium is not inside, but has outside walking paths to the exhibits. Some of the exhibits are puffins, and passages of the deep which has like an entire eco-system including sharks, schools of fish, stingrays, etc.
Overall I would come here again.

Definitely spend the money and take the family! The park is amazing everything is pretty much outside so dress accordingly to weather, but don't let that stop you! The walk ways all by the park are beautiful and the exhibits are amazing and interactive! Touch tanks and learning exhibits with the staff. The otter tank was being renovated when we were there so we will be back to check that out!

The Hatfield Marine Science Center, operated by Oregon State University, is a vast research facility located in South Beach near the Oregon Coast Aquarium. It features various organizations, institutes and laboratories on its campus dedicated to marine life research. The center offers visitors an opportunity to learn about sustainable fishing practices, tidal pools and erosion at its visitor's center. Additionally, guests can catch glimpses of the Pacific Ocean and spot whales nearby.
A wonderful educational experience! Several unique hands on exhibits! A highlight of our trip!

Yesterday I went to the Mark Hatfield OSU Marine Science Center in Newport, Oregon, now I have been here several times in the past but haven't been back since the COVID-19 Pandemic back in 2020, and I think now they just finally reopened to the general public, like after the pandemic you had to make reservations to come to visit this place and there wasn't an admission charge except you can make donations towards the Science Center at the time. Now they're open to the public again, and you don't have to make reservations you could pay at the door which is only five bucks and I think it's worth it. It's a small, little Museum but it's got some interesting stuff. They have a Giant Pacific Octopus on display and several species of fish native to our Pacific Ocean like Rockfish plus several exhibits dealing with the environment and the geography of our area here on the Oregon coast. One of the coolest displays is the tsunami exhibit, you can play with a machine that makes its own tsunamis and you can build a Lego house and use a Lego figure and then turn around and unleash the tsunami on those Legos. In my honest opinion if you're in the Newport area and you want to find something to do this would be a fun little spot to take the family too. Pretty much there's something for everyone, and there's a nice little Estuary Trail that goes around the Marine Science Center if you decide you want to go on a little walk that gives you a great view of Yaquina Bay!!

Great for kids and adults! This is definitely geared towards older kids (probably best for 6+) but my 4yo enjoyed himself. There was a lot to read and learn - you could definitely spend a few hours here. They have exhibits about NOAA, fisheries, tsunami-proof architecture, and so, so much more. It's a unique place and not your typical science center or aquarium so definitely worth a visit! I'm glad we skipped the pricey Aquarium and opted to go here instead. We biked here from South Beach State Park and it was a very kid-friendly ride 🚲

Amazing indoor activity for kids; it’s perfect for a rainy day at the coast. Right now you need to make reservations online, and there is a $3 fee per person (kids younger than 5 are free). There are so many activities including touch pool with starfish and sea anemones, wave experiments, and so many fish aquariums to see. Highly worth it!

Nice little science center with some hands on learning for kids and adults. This place was only $5 a person and not insanely busy like the aquarium was. Staff was friendly and all the exhibits were working when we visited. It has some of the same stuff as the aquarium but on a smaller scale. The kids liked the ship simulator and it was nice they could access the touch tank without so many kids shoving in.

Fantastic experience with this place. My son is 14 and he enjoyed all of the exhibits. The volunteer at the touch tank was graciously patient with my child who thinks he knows it all. This wonderful gentleman listened to my son and then helped him figure out what the errors were in his thinking. My son couldn't stop talking about the new things he learned. All of the interactive stations captured his attention, but he really enjoyed the navigation training. Highly recommend stopping here and spending time.

We had SO much fun! I planned a low-cost beach trip for my friend and I and this was easily one of our favorite activities. The museum is free, but donations are appreciated and available by cash and card near the entrance.
The museum is small, but packed with cool stuff. There is a touch tide pool, wave simulations, and a new baby octopus! I spent an extensive amount of time playing in the touch tide pool. And the photo opportunities were unreal! I'll be back soon, and if you go to see Newport, you have to stop here.

I always love stopping at this marine science center to
learn about commercial
fishing practices, tidepools,
local marina life, and tsunami

The tidepool exhibit allows
you to gently touch the
sea life in the pools.
It is interesting to learn
about the different fish
that are caught off the
Oregon Coast and the
type of gear used to
harvest them.
You will also learn about
commercial oyster, and
crustacean harvesting
Their is an augmented reality
sandbox that is popular
with young children.
The Yaquina Estuary Trail

Located in the South Beach

We LOVE this place!!!! 20 bucks for our whole family and we spend a couple of hours learning about tsunamis, wave energy, oysters, rockfish and all sorts of marine life. The octopus was amazing and the kids loved the touch pools with anemones, urchins, starfish and a sea cucumber. The staff/volunteers are super friendly and helpful, they love what they do and it's evident in their knowledge and demeanor. It's all very interactive and hi-tech. Our favorite is the geology sandbox, the coolest invention ever! We easily spent 30 minutes just at that table. I highly recommend we go every summer - worth the detour!
Yaquina Bay State Recreation Site is a beautiful place to visit with its lighthouse, tide pools, and forests. The lighthouse is unique because it has living quarters attached to it, and the park offers visitors many different activities to enjoy.

There is another lighthouse nearby, but you have to pay to look at it. I found this lighthouse to be just as beautiful and free of you. There is a tour that is canceled for now because of COVID.

Amazing stop. Fantastic in the fact you can go inside, the original items inside are in pristine condition, the view is fantastic, there are bathrooms in the back, and picnic tables everywhere. It’s free to park and look inside. We went to 3 lighthouses on the coast and this was our favorite. Breathtaking.
There are quite a few stairs and a sloped path to get to the top, so it not wheelchair/disability friendly and might be difficult for the elderly.

This lighthouse was in operation for three short years to help ships find the Yaquina River-access to timber and oysters. A nice three story, free, tour. One room plays a decent video fir your information. Nice historic furniture and amazing views. You can’t get up to the top. It’s a ladder and is blocked, but it’s okay. You get a clear sense of hue a family of nine lived here in the early 1870s.

Beautiful setting. On the day we went, we couldn't go inside the lighthouse. But the tide pools down below are absolutely amazing. We spent the majority of our time down here. It offers an array of activities, including gift shops, art galleries, seafood restaurants, and resident sea lions. This district is home to popular attractions such as the Ripleys Museum and Pacific Maritime Heritage Center. Visitors can also enjoy exploring the Undersea Gardens or strolling through the bustling Bay Boulevard filled with souvenir shops and eateries serving up delectable seafood dishes.
We love watching sea lions here in August, stopping in all the unique shops and having coffee and ice cream along the bay front.

Weird. You can walk on the board walk part way and then you're walking behind operating fishing equipment. There is a bit of food and little shops, but I was expecting something different. It's short, awkward and difficult to maneuver if you just wanted to walk the water/marina boardwalk. The best part is the stretch of murals and marina views.

Quaint, cute, lots of food and shops, enjoyed the waterfront. Wall mural art that I find beautiful. Areas to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. I try to stop each time I'm in the area.

Great selection of restaurants, but could a couple more non seafood oriented choices. Can be crowded but your right there by everything. If you haven't been I would recommend going for the day. Lighthouse near it very cool.

Must see this area when coming to Newport or you would be missing out. Such a beautiful sight. There are boardwalks and markers to tell yiyu some of the town's history. Be sure to listen to and find the sea liona. It wount be too hard. Lots of restaurants and gift shops in the surrounding areas.

Nice place to window shop and get a bit to eat. Check out the seal dock to see the sea lions sleeping and swimming around the docks. Good fresh sea food restaurants and candy/ice cream shops if you need something sweet! Beautiful view of the bay and the bridge from the docs.

This place has such an amazing collection of shops and restaurants, am somewhat disappointed I didn't get to go to all of them. Has something I've never seen anywhere else: a dock surrounded by barking sea lions at all hours of the day. Was insanely cute and fascinating. Many of the buildings also have beautiful murals painted on the sides, all marine life themed. The view of the water, pier, and bridge is stunning from here, and you get to see all of the ships and things coming by less than a stone's throw away

I have visited the Bayfront many times throughout the years and in all of the different season. I always get great joy out of all the shops, restaurants, and salty air. Not too far from the ocean or the aquarium!

We got lucky, went to the bay and slept close to the dock and listened to the sea lions and seals all night. They were posing for pictures and cutting up like little kids. Watching them really made me very happy. What an incredible experience. Hope I can go back again one day!

An amazing and historic place to visit in Newport and experience its beauty. Have a walk around the Bayfront and enjoy its beauty. One can shop also in different shops around and can see and hear Sea Lion.

Beautiful location and tons of things to see and do, but kind of a lack of benches along the way make the experience difficult for those with mobility issues. Depoe Bay has benches every block, at least, and it makes the experience much better.

Nye Beach is a beautiful, sandy beach located in Newport, Oregon. It is well-known for its stunning sunsets and lively arts scene. The beach is also great for swimming, surfing, and fishing.
Absolutely a must visit place. Its beautiful and pristine. Great place to spend a day with family and friends. Adequate parking space available. Lots of food options nearby.

Cool spot to walk around. We were there at the beginning of the week so not much was open but definitely want to go back to shop and eat. Lots of restaurants and shops.

Nye Beach is both a beach and a little neighborhood in Newport with several cute shops, restaurants, and bars. The beach itself is nice, but access isn't as easy as, say, the longer and flatter beach in Lincoln City because of a lack of parking at the end of several small, narrow streets. But if you're staying in the area, the beach is very nice (and a little quieter than some others).

I always stay in this historic
district in Newport for the
nice beach to walk on, the
amazing sunrises over the
ocean, and the great variety
of places to eat in.
The area is home to the
Visual Arts Center, the
Performing Arts Center,
and a number of galleries.
You can access the beach
at Davis Park and at the
Nye Beach Turnaround
with parking at both
places.
The area was the first
resort area of Newport
and has a small village
feel to it with hotels, shops,
restaurants, and a number
of other services.
A great place to stay in
Newport with a long beach
to walk on, art galleries to
browse in, bakeries to grab
a sweet treat, beautiful
sunsets and sunrises over
a endless horizon.

A lot of little shops with very intersting stuff! Several restaurants to go to, but my favorite part of my trip of course was the beautiful beach! Crystal clear water over mesmorizing ripples in the sand!! Super calming and a good way to forget your troubles and enjoy the beauty of the Oregon Coast.
Daniel Lopez — Google review
A great beach, with restaurants and shops very close. When the sand is wet, a power wheelchair can navigate out to the water without the need for a special chair or a Mobi mat. However, the sand was in piles around the entrance, so an investment in a Mobi mat would be a wise investment for the community.

Picturesque and then some. Unlike many of the beaches which are flat, and unremarkable, this beach is nearly as perfect as Neskowin's or Pacific City's. There was one dog off leash, but with respectful owners in terms of space. Don't get trapped out on the rocks when the tide comes in!
Kat Spratley — Google review

If you've never been here like me, this map pin is not parking. It's not the beach access and it sends you to a dead-end road and private property. Welp time to drive around and find some parking, google was no help here.
The Yaquina Head Marine Garden is located on the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area and is a refuge for coastal wildlife. The park features tide pools, a lighthouse, and stunning ocean views. Visitors can explore marine life at the park, which is popular with locals and tourists alike.
Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area is a fascinating location featuring a rocky beach with an collapsed sea cave, tide pools and trails. It is highly recommended to visit during low tide in order to fully access the middle of the bowl. The parking lot provides easy access, however it should be noted that the location isn't accessible from the view point one. While it's a great place to visit, caution should be exercised with timing as well as adhering to signage prohibiting drone usage.
I'm glad we stopped here on our way out of Newport! It was a really cool view with a nice little park area attached. Lots of outdoor seating, some cute shops nearby, lots of easy access parking, and seems to be a surfing hotspot too. Would recommend seeing this natural wonder.

Really cool place. Definitely go DURING LOW TIDE. Find out what time the tide will be decently low as that will really be the only time you can fully access the middle of the bowl. Its a fast easy walk from the parking lot, however you don't access it from the view point one. It's a little farther north on the beach. Awesome place just be careful with your timing.

Free roadside attraction. parking can be crowded for an RV on the weekend. Fairly easy in and out during the week. Check the tide table and go at high tide for the best show.
🍦 Friendliest candy shop, and least expensive ice cream on the Coast right near the parking lot.
Also super friendly surf 🏄♂️ and skateboard 🛹 shop at the same location. 🌊

So much to see and explore!! The lookout area is nice and gives a beautiful view view , there is also beach access on both side streets . However the heavy rains have destroyed the right trail so use caution if you have mobility issues, you will need to climb at the trail end. There are tide pools full of starfish, clams, etc. Definitely worth the work to get down to the beach, but wear appropriate shoes.

It's pretty spectacular HOWEVER you can not get to the punch bowl or the cool rock structures (legally/ethically/respectfully) as seen in a lot of the pics. There is a beach you can get down to that is pretty cool but not places like the rocks.

One of those places where I want to give a one star rating so that other people don't blow this place up and show up to have parties and get this area restricted to the public.
Great location to check out.
Wish they'd change the name.
Don't fly drones here tho 😉 the sign says not to, I promise I won't bring one next time 🤞👍

Nice view point from the top. Lots of dogs. LOTS of narrow stairs to get down to the beach to go into the bowl. The water was deep when we got there so sadly couldn't go over. Couldn't get to the other path supposedly able to access to get into it. No directions at all how to get to the beach or to get down into the bowl either. The beach was super nice even if very windy. Bathrooms at top of stairs were decent. On the beach many of the dogs were off leash.

This is my wife's favorite spot to watch the ocean. It is very mesmerizing watching the waves churn in and out of the huge bowl carved out of the Cliffside. There are also several shops here, including a Mo's Restaurant and a surf shop. You can't surf the punchbowl, but the beach just to the south is a great spot, and there are usually a few dozen surfer types hanging out in the water or on the beach. This is definitely a great place to hang out.

It's an absolute must-see for nature enthusiasts. The hike to the Punchbowl is a journey through diverse landscapes, ending in a jaw-dropping view of the awe-inspiring bowl-shaped rock formation sculpted by the Pacific's relentless waves. Accessible trails, informative exhibits, and captivating photo opportunities make this a perfect destination for all. Experience the raw power of nature in this coastal wonderland - a true gem of the Pacific Northwest.

This was our favorite place to visit while in Newport! We visited twice. Try to visit during low tide if you can. It is a tough hike down (part of the path at the bottom to the beach was washed away in the last year). Be careful while hiking along the rocks on the beach to avoid stepping on any animals. The rocks are very slippery in some spots. It was awesome to see live star fish and sea anemones in their native habitats inside the Punch Bowl. We returned during high tide to show to the kids how full of water it got and to illustrate why it is so important to be aware of the tides while hiking and exploring by the ocean.

We made our 2nd stop here this past September, our first was in June 2021. Definitely worth the stop for a second look. Absolutely beautiful and spectacular! Spotted some whales and their spouts a bit offshore to the north. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area.

A unique natural formation. Kind of stunning to see up close. Actually reminds me of back home. An inviting attraction but don’t. You need skills and maybe luck too so much better to enjoy from the tourist areas. Other stunning views os the coastline too.

This is a quick stop and a very short, easy walk to the viewing areas. We went on a weekday, so there weren't a ton of people. Beautiful stop. Watch your step for fencing sticking out by your ankles and know that they are doing some construction on it at the time of this posting.

The Devil's Punchbowl is an incredible place. We were able to park near the top but space is limited and anything larger than a truck would have a hard time turning around or parking. More parking is below the hill on C Ave. There are no fees to visit. We were able to see a couple whales breaking the surface while walking along the path. The wind was powerful but that's expected when you are on top of the cliff. There is also beach access on either side of the natural area and both are within walking distance. Check the tide tables to experience different views. High tide will bring unique water surge into the punchbowl. Low tide will allow exploration of the caves below. After our walk through we stopped at a small ice cream shop nearby. Perfect family adventure.

The overlook is more of a stop over. It’s a very nice view here but it’s not very big. We saw a lot of surfers but we didn’t make it to the beach. It looked like the tide was in already so we couldn’t go into the actual bowl. But I could see how nice watching the sunset is from here. You should definitely check this place out! Very

This was so fun! I wandered in and they had an opening so I made a float. It was really fun and they helped make sure I didn't screw anything up. I learned a lot about the process and also the artists were giving tips on how to get started and learn more. Everyone was super nice there. The show room was really wonderful, some of the pieces were stunning.

The folks here were super nice, very engaging and knowledgeable. But the prices are pretty high and you kind of have to wonder how much of it actually goes to the artists that make the pieces vs how much is retail markup. I do appreciate, though, that they have some smaller/cheaper pieces so there's kind of something for everyone.

We had so much fun with our glass blowing experience. We chose the medium float, and it turned out great. The staff was amazing and made our time there wonderful. The only complaint I have is the young lady at the gallery checkout counter. She was quite rude and felt the need to be utterly contrarian/rude toward anything we said and was downright unpleasant. If there's a reason we won't return, it's her.

Moderate hiking trail in national forest close to scenic waterfalls with a suspended footbridge.
What an amazing hike! The only downside was I wish it was a longer hike. There is an alternate trail just a short way up the trail & I strongly recommend people take it because it was beautiful and I didn’t see another person along that whole section. It also adds a bit more of distance which I like. The suspension bridge is impressive & the waterfall was stunning. Incredible views abound all along this trail. It’s worth stepping off the path because there are some amazing spots that most people just walk on past. The drive there is a bit hairy as the road is narrow in sections and it’s very curvy. Still it’s a hike that would be sad to miss.

This is a fabulous place to take the family for a day hike. My wife and I walked out to the falls and included the north loop. The total distance was 4.3 miles. Great workout but not too difficult. The suspension bridge was really cool. Well built and very safe. Really a fun day in the outdoors!

*The road to get here was a little rough. It was narrow, had potholes, and fallen trees/branches in some areas. You will have to drive a little slower because there's a lot of curves and can't see other cars coming down. It's basically one lane, traffic going both ways.*
It was a good trail. It was pretty flat most of the way, so I'd say it was a pretty easy hike. I loved the bridge and beautiful waterfall!

April 2, 2022 visit. Arrived about 11am and found a few parking spaces open in parking area. There is a pit toilet house, very clean, with two rooms at the trail head. Permits can be purchased at the trail head if you do not have one. Rain occurred the day before and we found the tail damp to muddy, as you move along. This is an easy trail to hike. Wooden bridges cross over the streams and creeks where needed. Tree roots and rocks make some of the trail uneven and if you try to bring a stroler you my be lifting it in areas to continue. Only one person did not have their dog on a leash among many that we encountered. The hike in was mostly down grade. At the falls is an fairly large viewing area. You can get down to the base of the falls if you feel the need. We returned to the tail head about 12:30pm and parking was full. Parking along the road was occurring. This is a nice short hike into some wooded areas and along flowing creeks.

The drive in is long and winding, but oh so gorgeous. Hiked in the pouring rain, but it only made the experience all the more mystical. Moderate out and back hike of 1.5 miles each way, beautiful rainforest the entire way, and the most beautiful view of the waterfall from a suspended bridge. I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve heard of this hike! Definitely recommend!
Kesslyn Fleck — Google review
The weather was perfect. The trail was dry. You will drive 12 miles on tight winding roads to reach the parking lot. Once reaching the lot, which has a bathroom, park and you will find the trail head. It should take about 30 minutes to reach the falls. As of June 2023, there were 5 to7 spots where trees obstruct the path. They will slow you down but won't stop you from continuing to your destination. The hike to the suspension bridge was easy. The hike down to the creek under the falls is moderate, you'll need to use your hands and feet. The view was spectacular.

Great hike without the mud! We’d just hiked another trail and ended up quite muddy. Not here! The well maintained trail was scenic and well groomed with packed gravel much of the way. The suspension bridge near the end was amazing. Being a little wary of heights, it wasn’t my favorite, but the view was great and the falls were beautiful. We enjoyed the hike as a family.

Beautiful exciting hike! It got muddy at some parts but the suspension footbridge and waterfall are totally worth it!
Please note, it does get busy throughout the day so parking can become an issue. I recommend early mornings!

The roads are narrow at times so be slow on your way to and from the trailhead.
There was plenty of parking left when we went around 10am. We were able to use restrooms and eat lunch at a nice picnic table before we hit the trail. Unfortunately there was no way to pay the day use at the time because the machine was out of order. Everyone we met on the trail was incredibly sweet to my 3 little kids as they tried to talk to everyone and show them the bugs they caught. LOTS of mosquitoes so be prepared. We didn't make it to the falls because my littles had too much fun exploring on the way.
Also, don't go by Google maps when attempting to leave. It told me to turn on some unnamed side road that was sketch and gated. I just went back the same way I got there.

Easy trail, not too short or long, but a fun payoff at the end (read view of the falls and experience on well-kept suspension bridge). A bunch of biting flies down at the water tho, but.... whatever, welcome to the outdoors. :) Lots of people on the trail, but not so much you have no privacy. Long, windy, steep dropp-offs on the gravel road from OR-22 to NF-17. Drive slower around turns, lest one of you go over the side. :)

Moderate to easy hike (1.5 miles) into a nice remote waterfall with a suspension bridge over the ravine the falls spill into. There is a nice close up view from the top down and then you can hike to the bottom of the falls and see the falls and the bridge looking up. It is about a 10 mile drive off of Highway 101 on a paved forest road.

Beautiful place. Signs say it's 1.5 miles to the falls. It's uphill on the return so it feels longer 😀 currently there are a ton of trees blocking the path so you mostly have to climb over and sometimes under trees. Overall the path is easy to walk through, and walking the bridge and getting in front of the falls was Beautiful. Would love to come again when the falls are much fuller.

The Lincoln City Outlet Center is home to a variety of great shops, offering a fantastic shopping experience. However, it's worth noting that during holiday weekends, it can get quite busy. As a result, the close parking areas tend to fill up quickly, and visitors may need to be prepared for a short walk to reach the shopping area. Despite the potential parking challenge, the center's wide selection of stores makes it a worthwhile destination for those seeking great deals and a diverse shopping experience.

Great shopping plaza. I appreciate the variety of stores and how you can always find an item you need and or want. I'd stay clear of the arcade, as it's a rip-off. Expect to park in the secondary parking garage and know that it’s likely to be crowded on a weekend. Had a blast walking through the stores and could comfortably get to/from each under the large awnings, so rain or shine, you’re bound to have a good time 😜 a few places to eat lunch, but several “snacky” stores are also available. Enjoy the retail hunt!

Good for older kids / adults but not great for small kids. We thought we might get some school shopping out of the way early we have some elementary age kids. However the only two outlets there that really applied to them had very limited selection and not that great a deals despite many of the other stores having good sales.
So if you like coming here cuz you're a little bit older you know maybe teens and above then it's probably for you. But little kids not so much

Good selection of stores. Dog friendly as they supply bags for pet waste in some spots. Gilgamesh Brewing recently opened so there are more options to have a bite, besides Momiji's and Salt. Only complaint is, if you challenged by stairs or bringing a wagon, stroller or walker, be prepared to be exposed to rain and weather if you need to utilize the ramps to get around.

Fun place to browse and spend an afternoon. I enjoyed the many different stores, from axe throwing to furniture. Lots of fun places to burn a few hours I the afternoon. The Boba tea place was a little disappointing though.

I wrote a review about a Tesla charging nearby and I said this place has at least 20 plus stores. I would go here if you need some charge in a quick pinch. Otherwise, great place has great food and fun things to do with your kids and family. Would go here if you need to do something with your family or just something to kill time

The outlets were clean and well maintained. The assortment of stores was varied and there were a few places to stop and eat. There is a centrally located restroom with a customer help area. There isn't a lot of parking in the middle of all the stores, but there is a 2 story parking structure to the East that you can park in and walk over. Additionally, there is a Tesla charger on the south side of the building.

We went to flourish Boutique. I got some beautiful clothing and was expertly assisted. As I am getting older that assistance is more and more appreciated. I also had a necklace customized for length by the designer. Beautiful things in store and friendly people.

We stay in Newport seasonally for work and frequent the outlets often! There are always great deals and friendly people. During our most recent trip, one of my girls lost their brand new stuffy caterpillar outside of one of the shops. We noticed within 5 minutes of losing it and went back outside to check for it- but someone decided it needed a new home apparently and took it with them. My oldest was devastated as she had picked it out for her little sister and thought it was super special.
We ultimately decided to go to customer service/admin offices to leave our names in case someone brought it in. The ladies in the office were SO sweet. They even gave my girls a new stuffy with the tags still on to soothe the hurt of their lost toy. We were so surprised at that generosity and kindness! They said they keep a stock of new stuffies just in case someone loses their special friend.
I just thought it was so sweet. And so were the candies they gave us as well. Stuffies and candies. Can’t go wrong there!

Lincoln City Outlets is a great place to get good prices on the central Oregon Coast. Many major brands have outlet stores there. Good parking and you can go to the beach when you're done shopping. It is a very dog friendly place. They are ready for the Christmas shopping rush.

I enjoy these outlets often more than I do the ones in Woodburn. I seem to find better clearance deals and a wider variety during sales. There's a lot of parking in the back, so don't get disappointed if the small lot in front is full.

About like most outlet malls. Overpriced with no clothes for the tourist.
But the Rivian charger is top notch and the Ginger Roots shop is cool.

Pretty awesome outlet mall. We were skeptical of the whole outlet mall schtick, but this mall was cozy and there were deals to be had (especially at the Columbia outlet). Easy in and out and lots of shopping.

This place had everything I am so passionate about, lots of cool rocks/fossils/taxidermy/art. Seeing CrankMaggot(Richard Difeo)'s original fusion art here really caught me by surprise and was so cool to see in person as a fan of his work. Examples of his work are the turkey headed snake, the boot with the jaws, the toad with opossum teeth, the alligator hand in the shell, etc. Between seeing one of my favorite artist's work in the wild and all the cool dinosaur/paleontology as well as cool taxidermy was definitely a highlight of my trip to the coast. There was a lot of affordable trinkets and authentic fossils to take home, the taxidermy is for sale as well and I highly recommend visiting such a unique shop.

Be prepared to be overwhelmed with amazement! We paid for a bucket to pan and sift through and keep the goodies found inside with a panning setup they have assembled in the store. I'm only posting two photos because i'm not going to spoil your experience!

Nice clean place with lots of beautiful crystals, fossils, and some nice prehistoric animals in rock and insects, too. They have toys for kids 3 and up, science projects for kids 5-up. Even for big kids like me, they had everything. Hand-made jewelry, little samples of geo-rocks, etc.

Talk about a great place to stop in at! Where do I start? For being a smaller shop, this place has so much stuff. And i mean that in a good way. You want a golden scarab? They got it! Megalodon teeth, fossilized dino-poop (for real!), uber rare minerals? Check, check, check. Super knowledge and friendly staff. Went way above and beyond what I expected. This is my new favorite place to go. They also have super old coins and war memorabilia. I cannot recommend this place enough!

So many cool finds in here. A MUST STOP when visiting Lincoln City. They have fossils, taxidermy, pinned bugs, crystals, lapidary, meteorites and other space stuff.
All kinds of Curiosities and Oddities to spark the imagination. A veritable museum of things you can buy.
Not recommended to bring little hands unless they are well heeled.

Wonderful company to deal with. Ordered a dino tooth online after not being able to get one while in Florida. Shipped out quickly but appeared to be lost in transit. Sent out a second. First one came about a week later. Let me keep both. Great communication and customer service all the way through. Thank you

I really love dinosaurs and places that have stuff that have dinosaurs and bones and stuff in that nature. This place is really neat for that. Also it has a neat collection of other stuff like different animals, jar filled weird stuff, and things that have been mummified. They also have cool collections of minerals, rocks, and gems. The staff is really friendly too.
The only reason I give it four stars is because they just seem a little too pricey. Especially for like a stuffed animal for kids.

We went to Prehistoric for the first time this weekend! We lived in Lincoln City for years and didn't spend a lot of time shopping, so this trip this the one store I couldn't wait to go to! I was NOT disappointed. The owners are so wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable! I'm obsessed with Dinosaurs and bones and was able to find this gorgeous Dino Bone carved Skull!! It is now my most favorite thing ever!!! We also did the sand buckets and had so much fun!!!
Hands down, my favorite store on the Coast and we will be going back!!!

What a cool place! My kids love dinosaurs so we were excited to find this spot when we took a trip to Lincoln City. Greeted by an animatronic Dino at the front door, you know this is going to be a fun place to visit from the entrance. They have rocks and fossils aplenty. There are some really interesting specimens of different types of insects and reptiles too. You can even pan for gold in the side room. If you have kids or like fossils and rocks, this is definitely a must-visit shop.

Very cool shop! Be aware though that the staff is not masked and they are not enforcing the statewide mask mandate. They store was full of unmasked customers so we unfortunately had to leave before buying anything.
Chinook Winds Casino Resort is a beachfront property that features a hotel with an indoor pool and an adjacent 24-hour casino. It offers great views outside the casino and nearby eatery, which serves delicious food. The hotel also provides killer views, making it an ideal place to stay for tourists who want to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. Additionally, there is no smoking indoors, ensuring a clean and pleasant gambling experience for all visitors.
It was a rainy day when I visited on this day. I registered at the casino and got a five dollar promo card to play. With the 5 dollars, I made $60 not out of pocket. I had a free cup of lemonade. I had a meal with my husband too. The meal was $37 each. Nice food, cozy environment. We didn't sleep at the hotel.

Nick was great checking us in. My daughter, baby and I checked into a nice roomy King handicap room facing the parking lot. We were there to relax. We had a nice dinner at the restaurant and walk on the beach. Then at 2:13 am there were 2 men looking at cars in parking lot. A couple fighting in their room until 6am. Tried calling front desk 3 times, no security and the reservation person said to go up to their room and knock on the door. The people were screaming the "f" word and throwing stuff...no way was I going to put myself in danger. So no sleep that night. In the morning I told front desk. Seems it happened all the time because no one seemed really concerned. Still charged full price and not sure if anyone checked on that room. We were so excited to finally stay at the resort. I think we will stay down the street and drive to the casino and restaurant the next visit.

We had a great time even if we didn't win.
I haven't been here in a few years and decided we should come more. I like the feel of the casino. We ate at the buffet. It was pretty good. The salad bar needed help. Everything was pretty depleted. Service was good and the restaurant seemed clean.

I enjoy visiting Chinook winds, mostly because the location is perfect. I have however been pretty bummed out the last couple years that the Child Center & Arcade have been closed. I have hoped to be able to stop in and play while we are there, but my daughter is usually with us and not old enough to be in the casino (she is 6yrs). Will you ever be reopening these areas? Or will this be a permanent shut down??

The most overpriced hotel room I’ve ver gotten. Don’t be duped…this is NOT a three star hotel. After a very long day of driving we decided to try our luck at the casino hotel based on the success of the other two we’d stayed at the past few days. With fees the room was $300. First, know that the hotel is not connected to the casino so you have to walk or take a shuttle, it closes between 4 and 8 a.m. and you have to use stairs to get to the rooms. Upon entering it was clear this used to be a smoking room though we’d booked a nonsmoking, there is no balcony to view the ocean, only get to peek at it through a very dirty window, there were stains on the carpet and the bathroom floor was dirty. Basic furniture with nicks and scratches. Dated fixtures and sink in the room. Thank goodness the beds were cleaned and comfortable but we rolled out early the next morning to get out of that depressing space. Given the lack of luck my travel partner had at the casino we should have stayed down the road in a cheaper nicer place. Don’t be duped…don’t stay here.

Buffet should have been about $12.95 not $29. The main Prime Rib was absolutely the worst piece of meat I've ever tried to chew. Hard to believe they would try to sell that to anybody. The guy that was cutting the meat and spooning out the clam chowder soup was either simple-minded or a Jerk. I couldn't really tell. He skimmed the top of the giant container of soup to fill the bowl. There was no clams potatoes or anything just juice. The rest of the buffet was just OK. The best thing they had was the Indian fry bread tacos. Not really a taco but tasted like one. And to top it all off the deserts we're nothing to write home about. The caramel salted ice cream was about the only worth trying. Everybody was nice and knew what they were doing except for the guy slicing the meat and dishing out the the juice chowder. Just read a review about the prime rib from somebody that ate there that same night that said it was great. Don't believe that for a second. That was the worst piece of meat ever and I mean ever! Who paid that guy off to say that was great or even good??

Boy, this place was really crowded and so loud. We couldn't even talk to the guy next to us, that's her eye, because it was New Year's we expected it to have to be pretty crowded would have a great New York City party that they thrones with the DJ and the special room all free and compliments to the hotel. We didn't stay the night though. We're at a beach house. Are winnings were about equal. Came with a $100 left with a 60 .

The walls are paper thin, the people next to us and above had tvs on all night (which I can hear like it's my TV) and have been awake off and on all night talking. They sound like they are in our room...The room is the size of a larger bathroom... Barely got sleep, the rooms are not even connected to the casino .. we are very disappointed with our stay. Unfortunately we won't be back. Beware if you are expecting a nice resort getaway, this is just not the case here.

I had visited before and recently stayed in the area to go to the casino for the weekend. I really like this casino. They've got great views outside the casino, their nearby eatery was delicious and had amazing views, and their nearby hotel also had killer views (I did not stay at their hotel).
Most important - no smoking indoors!
This made for a very clean and pleasant gambling experience. The employees seemed happy and were clean and friendly.

It was our first time coming here. We had dinner at the rogue River steakhouse. I will have to say that food was outstanding and reasonably priced. I got the pork porterhouse which is a big pork chop. It was delicious with a nice barbecue sauce, a nice mix of vegetables and a baked potato. I like that they give you fresh out of the oven bread with plenty of butter. Our server was Joy and she did a really nice job of taking care of us. We will definitely be back!

So disappointed with Chinook Winds! My Husband and I booked two rooms because this is where our son wanted to celebrate his 21st birthday with us and a couple of friends lest start out by saying I have not encountered 1 nice employee in this whole place except for the bartender at the casino and the young men working in laundry rooms! We never got housekeeping service and were told but the rude front desk girl that it’s not something they offer! The machines are incredibly tight! And the food in the food court is nasty! The only nice thing about this place is the view as can’t see the ocean from Montana!

I've never given a casino a 5 star rating, but this one is well deserved.
The rooms are a wow factor themselves where each room has an ocean view. Upon entering the windows were slightly open offering that clean fresh breeze yet the temp was comfortable and relaxing.
The staff gets even a better rating (if that's possible) from the hotel staff to security and even the entertainment venue staff was outstanding.
I hope someday I have an opportunity to come back.
This place has it figured out.

Way too overpriced for what you get. $300 a night for a tiny room crammed into a small hallway with two other rooms connecting. Cigarette and marijuana smoke pouring into our room from the others connected. So loud you could hear every work from the other room. Phone did not work to call the shuttle to go to the casino or to anyone else to complain. Definitely will never stay here again. Booked out of convenience for a concert, but will stay elsewhere next time for half the price!
Very disappointed!!!!

Celebrating a friend's 21st birthday here was an okay experience; but Teri made it better! I wish we remembered to go to the employee referall box so she got proper credit. Genuinely adored her and how hard she works. On that note we tried to find an online version of employee ratings etc and found that the casino only offers meal benefits to day and swing time shifts but not graveyard like Teri. This information deeply upset me and my friend, so I hope maybe this can change and we can value people like Teri a little more.

We went to the Casino for dinner. We tried the Steak House but the wait was longer than we wanted. So we stopped at the buffet version of the Steak House, at first we were a little skeptical but the cashier told us what to expect and, wow was it good!! High-end items that were being replaced/refreshed often. Plates were cleared quickly, and our server was really sweet.

Come for 3 nights got a room in the older building on ground floor with a door to the ocean. Rooms were very clean and spacious, the beds were very comfortable. Has microwave and refrigerator. The only thing was the sink had very little space to put anything on. The tub was a little small and shower pressure was ok.
I would definitely recommend for anyone to stay, and I will be coming back. Just hearing and seeing the ocean was very relaxing

Lovely place as far as casinos go. The atmosphere is nice, or would be if there didn't have to be security guards everywhere. They actually make me realize (along with the guards everywhere you go) that we no longer live in a "free" country. Just the illusion of one. Makes it hard to enjoy the otherwise relatively peaceful atmosphere of the place. Of course everything is expensive, but it's a casino in the coast, one would expect no less ..
Dawn Foster — Google review
Somewhere between 3 and 4. Rooms are pretty basic. Bed, bath, TV, small fridge and microwave. Beds are fairly comfortable. You are right on the water so it's nice when the tide is out. Great deal if you can get a mid-week special. Not sure if I'm expecting too much from a casino but it serves its function. It has my vote for sure.
Mario Coronado — Google review
Consistency, it's the name of the game for buffets. This one fails. No replacement tastes as the one it replaced. The jambalaya for example: chicken and shrimp is what it said it was. The first batch had no shrimp, which was fine with me. It was actually really good, so I went back for more. The second batch was super mushy from the rice being over cooked. This time, it was sausage, with no chicken. The spices tasted different and it was an entirely different color than the previous batch.
The cucumbers in the mixed greens for the salad tasted weird, but that's probably from sitting in the bin, mixed in with everything, rather than being in their own container.
The staff behind the line is not very engaging, and will continue to laugh and talk to each other while you stand there, so I didn't bother going back to try again on my other trips to the hot food side.
All in all, it was a very disappointing experience for the $50 I spent for the two of us. We probably won't be eating at the buffet again.
The only saving grace for them is the floor staff. They are VERY sweet and attentive. They are the ONLY reason I'm giving this 2 stars.

My favorite casino in Oregon. The staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of variety with the slot machines (I didn't play table games). Machines are kept clean and the casino is non-smoking. I always have a good time, win or lose. The only downside is restaurant options within the casino are limited, but the food that is served is great and you get ocean views from the steakhouse. I've tried out other casinos within a few hours drive, and even if they are bigger or have more food options I just tend to have a better time at Chinook Winds.

First and last time. I brought my nephew here for his 21st to show him a good time. Steak lunch with a killer view, and at 11 am on Sunday, the 23rd I went into the Steak restaurant and asked the bartender if anyone was working as he was loading his lemon and lime bin. He was the rudest person I have ever met in a public place. When I asked if there was anyone working, after sitting there for 10 minutes, he said yeah there out there somewhere 🤔 I asked if they served breakfast, and he didn't even turn around and said No! I'm busy. SO CHINOOK WINDS CASINO!!!! We had a couple thousand dollars we planned on spending... WE LEFT AND WON'T BE BACK JUST BECAUSE OF THAT A-HOLE!!!

As a traveler, I found this place by the ocean and signed up for a players card. I'm not normally a gambler but I appreciate places like this which have a safe parking lot and open doors... a good place to go on a rainy day. Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere for a casino. Definitely appreciate that they allow overnight parking which enabled me to support this business. Though, there definitely are some loud vehicles that drive around the parking lot throughout the night. It's also within short walking distance to the beach so you can take a break and relax watching the waves. These qualities makes me want to come back every time I'm in Lincoln City. Thanks Chinook Winds!

I went to see a comedy show and enjoyed it. I gave them a 3 star on service because management isn't using the venue effectively. I was there on a Saturday night to see this show, waited 10 minutes in line to get a drink before the show because there was no waitress or private bar in the venue/show room. Meanwhile. I could see a 2nd stocked bar across the room, but no one was working it. After waiting, I was only allowed to buy 2 single serving drinks.

The establishment is a casino situated in Lincoln City, Oregon, with the unique distinction of being the only casino in the area to be located adjacent to the ocean. Complimentary fountain beverages, including soda and juice, are provided to guests. The casino features an upper level accessible by an escalator, and parking is available at no charge. While I have not had the opportunity to stay at the resort, I can attest to the exceptional amenities and convenient location of the casino.

I had to stand in line for 30 minutes to buy a drink. I think they only employ 2 bartenders. It's bad enough that you have to buy your own drinks when you gamble. You also need a map to find the restrooms. The only one I could find was inside the Bingo event center. I'll just go somewhere else next time.

It’s a nice casino and we’ve always enjoyed our visits. Decent affordable eats on the casino floor, try the clam chowder! We win sometimes and we have attended many shows and events. Many holidays here and the events are fun and free. I am writing to tell you all the employees are very kind and welcoming, from services to restaurants and bars. Shout out to Jon at casino bar who has been serving us for decades. Every employee should be mentioned here as customer service is exceptional. We arrived pretty late when we checked in. Our room was at the bottom floor with a beautiful window view of the ocean….that was about the only plus thing I can say about this place. The room smell like people were in there doing drugs and drinking all night. It had a bad smell along with cigarette smell! It didn’t feel safe. At 2,3,4,5 am, you can hear people walking around and at some point, they were shaking the door handle to our room! We checked out at 7am. We couldn’t even get any rest because we refused to lay on the bed. It was already after 2am, and it was not safe to sleep in our car in their parking lot. We tried, but a native man told us it would be a bad idea to sleep in our car, and that we were better off staying in the room. What a nightmare that was! I gave 4⭐️ for the location, which it was the beach. Other than that, I do not recommend this place to anyone.
The Drift Creek Covered Bridge is a charming wooden bridge that was originally constructed in 1914, but has since been relocated 8 miles away from its original site. This historical attraction is a popular destination for tourists who appreciate the beauty of covered bridges. Visitors can learn about its history through printouts provided on-site and enjoy a peaceful drive to reach the location just off Highway 101. The bridge also features benches where visitors can relax and take in the scenery.

The Drift Creek (aka Bear Creek) Covered Bridge was originally located near Lincoln City, just 1.5 miles from the coast. It was considered the oldest remaining covered bridge in Oregon.
The bridge had served as part of a main north-south route along the Oregon coast. New roads and highways were eventually built, thus making the route and bridge obsolete.
Built in 1914, surrounding the community of Lutgens. By 1917 the town was now named Nice and had changed names at least eight times, prior to the post office closing in 1919.
When the bridge was bypassed with a concrete span in the 1960's, the county passed an ordinance preserving the wooden structure as an historical memorial to the early pioneers.
In 1988, the bridge had to be closed to pedestrian traffic due to neglect and it's deteriorating condition from rot and insect damage. Steel beams were installed inside the bridge to keep it from collapsing.
Dismantled in 1997 after attempts to limit access to the bridge failed. The structure was given to the Sweitz family who own land 8 miles north of the original site. They envisioned the structure being rebuilt over a concrete bridge that serves as a driveway to their property and home across Bear Creek, in a small, beautiful park-like setting with public access.

It is actually on private property since the bridge was rebuilt and moved. The bridge itself is really awesome, beautiful and historical. The people that own the property nearly ran me over while I was in the bridge taking photos so be aware if they're driving around.

The bridge and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful (even in the rain)!!
This is the oldest Covered Bridge in Oregon. The county demolished it where it originally sat and the Sweitz family picked up the pieces and rebuilt it on their land so everyone can continue to enjoy it.
The story on how the bridge came to sit on the land was inspiring and I wanted to read more 💕 (see pics).
I definitely recommend stopping to see this piece of history and thank you to the Sweitz family for putting it back together and most of all for sharing it with the rest of us!!

After almost 2 yrs we were able to come back! Since then they have remodeled their rooms. They look amazing. We had a double queen room and then a king bed room after we decided to stay an extra night. I did NOT get a pic of the rooms though. Their rooms are clean and spacious. Customer service was great throughout the whole place. Even though the Buffet still remains closed they do have other dining options. We had our Thanksgiving dinner at the Summit View. A bit pricey but deliciously worth it. We had breakfast from the Sports Bar. Had the regular breakfast that consisted of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and biscuits and gravy. All was good. Prices here were great. From the Deli we had a salad, cheeseburger and hot dog. Quick meal and affordable. They also have the Sipps Cafe. It opens early which is great! Has a variety of options for coffee, lattes, smoothies and ice cream. Decent prices. Their gift shop is a bit pricey but always has great stuff. Gaming options are great. They have a lot of new slot machines and a few of the older ones which I enjoy! Good pay outs. Location is great. You are between Salem and Lincoln City. Will definitely be back!

I found the free soda fountain next to the gambling area convenient and there was food choices aplenty, in case we got hungry. We ate at Amore with reservations and it was fantastic. Great service, food, wine selection, and atmosphere there.
I also got lucky and won a few bets, including a straight-up bet at the roulette table. Overall, we had a super fun time. We definitely will be returning and racking up those Coyote reward points in the near future.

I highly recommend Spirit Mountain Casino in Grand Ronde, Oregon for your next convention, group event or weekend getaway.
The events department is amazing to work with, especially Tanya and Donna! I can not tell you how helpful, knowledgeable and awesome these two ladies were to work with. The whole events staff was friendly and helpful, it’s a great group.
The lodge facilities are modern and lovely. My room was beautiful and had a tv, coffee maker, fridge, iron and board, hairdryer and the best lighting in the bathroom. Plenty of plug-ins and USB ports.
The casino itself is beautiful, the flooring is vibrant and facilities are clean. There are many places to eat and enjoy, including a sports book, buffet, Mexican food, Chinese food, bar and coffee shop.
I don’t think you can go wrong staying at Spirit Mountain Casino!

My wife and I went for a concert last night. We got there early and ate dinner at one of the many places inside. The service was great and the food was delicious. A little pricey for the area but that was expected.
The concert venue is small, 1,600 to 2,000 seats, but the sound quality is excellent! Security is very visible, which is a good thing in today’s world. They were all professional and friendly and all the interactions that I saw were handled well.
We will definitely come back for a longer stay.

Good casino, good food, watch out for security they are always watching you. Don't have any for sale signs in your car windows or they will kick you off of the property. Do not sleep inside or outside any casinos. We can't have that now! There are no clocks inside or outside the casino so bring a watch or phone. Gamble high or low, they both work, but if you have the money gamble as high as you can. Maybe you will will the GRAND Prize for only 50 cents. I know....HAVE FUN, LIFES TOO SHORT

Spirit Mountain Casino at Grand Ronde, OR is an adult entertainment destination about 60 miles outside of Portland proper. In addition to the casino, there is a hotel on property which is conveniently connected to the casino.
The hotel rooms are nicely appointed with contemporary decor. The halls are well lit with clean carpets.
The casino is filled with both slot machines, mostly video-style and an assortment of table games such as Pai Gow, Blackjack, and Craps to name a few. The casino is clean, well lit and completely non-smoking. There is a designated smoking casino, which is enclosed. The Casino provides unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, alcohol can be purchased through a waitress or at the bar.
Located near the hotel, Spirit Mountain is home to a concert hall that hosts various concerts of all genres throughout the year. Although there is no bar inside the concert hall, multiple mobile bars with limit menus are stationed immediately outside the auditorium in the reception hall.
Spirit Mountain has a handful of eateries to choose from. In addition to the sports bar located near the main casino entrance, there is a pizza/concession area hosted by 10 Barrel, Chinese food, Mexican food, and Italian restaurant. There's also a small food court and snack shop. Spirit Mountain used to be known for its amazing buffet, but in this post COVID world, the buffet is no longer offered. There are special events such as the Seafood Feast buffet that is offered periodically throughout the year.

We hadn't visited Spirit Mt. Casino in a half dozen years. We found it completely remodeled. It feature several places to eat and even had electronic directories to find our favorite slots. They also offer free camping for a few nights which was perfect for us.

I went and ate a great burger, so delicious! Then I played games for 4 hours. Every game I was wanting to play, I played. It was so fun I didn't mind that I went home with only half of what I took. It was a great time with a great high school friend. Can't wait to go back. I had the swiss mushroom burger with a side salad and spinach artichoke parmesan dip with chips for an appetizer. Yum!!!

Spent 2 nights just to enjoy and relax with family. The rooms are nice and clean. The bell person was so nice as every time we walked by him he always had something nice to say and input about the casino.
Had a good time yet did not win but the food was good. Our server was not as nice as the last time I was there bit the food was still good.
Took some time and travel to Tillamook to enjoy the day.
Go and try it yourself and share if you agree.with me or not.
The one thing I was sad about is no swimming pool 😕.

This suit was nicer than some of the sweet we’ve stayed in in Las Vegas. It was an amazing price. Great service. Will be coming back often. I really hope they put back the roulette video machines.

It's not Las Vegas, and that's a good thing. I didn't know what to expect, but what I found was a pleasant surprise, Is there such a thing as quiet excitement? This place has beautiful appointments ,ample games for all, the sweet music of machines paying out rang out constantly, the staff warm, helpful and friendly the players made for an enjoyable evening, win lose or draw, if you come to spirit mountain count yourself among the winners..

Surprised that you can actually breathe in there, not filled with cigarette smoke. It had been years since I last visited, nice atmosphere. They have a separate closed off smoking area. When you walk by it you can definitely smell the smoke but it's mostly away from everything else.
We ate at Happy Dragon, food was just ok, fruit fly in one of our water glasses. A few of us got sick later that night. Won't be going back to that restaurant. Casino was enjoyable!

its alright.. if they had better promotions. i only come here out of convenience and its not that convenient. and the $5 once a week freeplay (some months they do $10) that you can only use monday through friday (and not on a holiday) is almost insulting. it may be worth the drive then if it were more or they had more promotions like mini games once per day to get free play or something at the kiosks. but id honestly rather drive just a little further to chinook to get the better promotions plus theres the beach too! 🥰 or even just drive to ilani in the first place.

Probably the tightest machines I've ever played! If you can't win off 100$ then what kind of fun is that? Literally the wife and I were in and out in less then 30 minutes! They don't offer much free play and not a whole lot of giveaways either!
