Soldier Mountain
Ski resort
Nature & Parks
No-frills resort offering a variety of trails, backcountry skiing, powder glades & a terrain park.
With the caveat that it's 1/2 the price of Sun Valley lift ticket.... It's a relatively small and easy skiing mountain, but it's never busy and everyone is friendly and having a good time. There are a lot of beginners, but plenty of space. Go try it out on a day with new powder and it'll be a great change of scenery. ...2 hours from Boise.

I grew up skiing Soldier. I would often come up and ski with 3 generations. Grandma and Grandpa staying the weekend in their camper. Soldier introduced me to skiing and without realizing, the mountain introduced me to Stoke. Skiing my whole life around the US, I've realized that, Skiing/riding, isn't about the individual, it's about the shared experience. It's about family and friends sharing the joy of riding together.
Just as I remembered, Soldier and staff are still full of stoke for the sport, for families, for the little rippers who become big rippers. This mountain is a pure joy. It fills my heart that it is still operating, still spreading the joy and filling the next generation with the Stoke. Thank you Soldier and staff! Your hard work and dedication is not unnoticed. Keep it up for the next generation!

Interesting mountain east of Boise. Very old school vibe. No trees but great terrain. Would love to book a cat trip here.

This is a HIDDEN gem! You literally have the mountain to yourself. The snow is great and the Burgers are fabulous! The snow is great. The base sits high and the powder is amazing! This is a must visit ski resort in Idaho. No lift lines and everyone is so friendly. Very family friendly

Decent runs, kids loved it. Cheapest priced mountain I've ever been to in Idaho. Food wasn't too expensive nor impressive, but not bad. Beautiful place. FYI, no cell phone reception, but Lodge had wifi but it's spotty.

For our first visit, it was nice. We paid for a 2-hour beginners class. Wish the instructor took more time with the basics. The food was wonderful!! Great trip!!

Such a great family resort. We love it there. The staff is always friendly and they do a great job of keeping skiing affordable.

Beautiful place to ski, plenty of ungroomed areas, almost no lines, good lift prices (online is $15 less)

Had the opportunity to ski a little almost every day for the past 3 weeks. Snowfall this year was pretty good, but was a little warm and wet for the most part &, sometimes a soaking wet rain/snow mix. sometimes icy, sometimes dangerously so. They groom the heck out of the place, except when conditions are at their worst. Most runs have a roller-coaster quality to them, which I usually like. There are no miles long cruisers like some other unnamed Idaho resorts. If you are new, or lose track of where you are you might end up doing a lot of uphill walking. You sometimes have to search for the easy way down, can be hazardous if conditions or visibility is less than optimal. Ski Patrol is everywhere, and they have a number of exceptionally talented people. This is probably the safest place on the planet to be in case of an accident/incident. And from what I've watched of the ski school, they are remarkable as well. Overall, I had one day with perfect snow, But visibility was terrible and it could not be fully enjoyed. Otherwise, about 3 out of ten were more enjoyable than challenging, the rest was heavy wet snow, or ice, or raging wind. The resort could do a better job of keeping the the upper part of the highway open. The county could do a much better job with the lower part of the highway, considering it's one of the county's larger businesses. I've sampled most of the food and enjoyed most of it.. Tamales and chili are not to be missed when available. This from a disgruntled former employee.
I did have, while working the bunny slope, people ski up & down using the magic carpet, then try the lift, and come right back to the carpet saying "those greens are a little bit scary." IMHO some clearing and contouring is required if Forest Service will ever allow it.

We had so much fun sightseeing and driving through the valley! Highly recommend the slingshots they have available to rent! Ryan was great to work with!

New Inventory is arriving and I wanted to try out a new Slingshot!!! This place is fantastic!!! Ryan is very knowledgeable on the available riding areas, which are endless! Equipment is new every year. I would recommend the trip to boulder!!!

Ryan, you for sure rent FUN and the UTVs are free :). It was so easy to book, and our group peppered you with questions for a few days leading up to our rental. You were so helpful and your customer service is 10 star (too bad we can only give you 5 stars!). Many of our group are life-long locals and had never had a chance to explore the fun trails and landscape east of Bellevue. Thank you for your positivity and super business you bring to the Wood River Valley. Can't wait to go again next year! (TIP for renters: Make sure you take a snapshot of the map in the office with your phone - even though you have the GPS on the UTV, the hard map helps guide overall location)

The views were incredible, and everyone there was very friendly! If you’re going to spend money on some adventure in Idaho this is what you should spend it on. We went out for 2 hours and just did the one trail that he recommended and WOW it was STUNNING. They provide you with coolers, so we brought our lunch up and had it at the summit and it was such a beautiful place to eat. We were the only ones there.
Bells — Google review
We had a blast renting side by sides from Ryan. He gave us detailed info on all the trails in the area and set us up for a great adventure! I’ll definitely be coming back for more fun!

Wow! I cannot say enough good things about David and his dad Ryan. The machines are brand new, and they are more than helpful. They literally had everything we needed, coolers, bungees for the coolers, helmets, goggles, you name it, they had it. They positive attitude really sold the whole experience though. And the trails… the TRAILS! Unbelievable views and hundreds of miles of trails accessible right out their back door. If you are even remotely contemplating doing a rental, this is the place to do it!!

We had a great time! The owner Ryan and his son David are amazing! They always take care of everything and have everything we need! We always seem to bring it back super muddy!👌 So we tip for the cleaning!

We are from Houston. We came to Sun Valley for down time literally a few Days after Harvey almost destroyed our home. We wanted FUN! Ryan is by far, the BEST guy you will find around town. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area , and gives you a map. I can not say enough! If you are looking for a great time, give him a call. He is dedicated to your enjoyment, without a doubt!!!!! We will be back. for sure!!!

My girlfriend and I rented from Ryan last week, you can tell he just loves helping people have a good time.
The trails were great too, there's miles of easy trials for people just learning and apparently some more.. "fun" options as well. The rigs have a GPS and Ryan goes over maps with you beforehand and gives you copies, so you always know where you are and where you're going.
Fantastic way to see the mountains out there, can't reccomend enough.
Visitor Center: Thousand Springs State Park & Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument
Visitor center
Nature & Parks
National park with a visitor center displaying samples of ancient fossils excavated from the area.
Robin is amazing. She shared so much wonderful information with us about the fossil beds and must-see sights around the area! Took her recommendation to see Balanced Rock and it was incredible! Go check it out!!!!!
Katlin Hoffman — Google review
Basically...it's just wide open planes not worth the trip. We even had a hard time finding it. I was picturing a big National Park only to find almost nothing but a little sign. I'm sure there a a few hiking trails but don't expect any information booth, restrooms or really anything.
Scott Michaud — Google review
First of all, be aware that this is a brand-new visitor center as of my visit in June, a cooperation between the National Park Service and Thousand Springs Idaho State Park. that’s important to know because it is easy to mess up and go to the old location in downtown Hagerman.
The new location is really nice, but there is not a huge amount of parking, especially if you are in an RV.
When I was there they were still getting things completed at the visitor center but still had great exhibits. The Hagerman fossil beds are known for the Hagerman horse which has one toe and is unusual because there are a number of bird fossils as well.
at this time, you should visit the NPS website and watch the park film online before you go. When I was there the auditorium was not ready to use yet. It’s also worth knowing that you can’t really visit any of the fossil bed areas.
Thousand Springs State Park has several units to visit in the area. You will need to purchase a day pass to visit most of those.
Sally Lawrence — Google review
This is an essential first stop to the area. There's so much to visit. Some stops require a Idaho state park pass: $7. Worth every penny. You'll be able to look out over the land where fossils were found. Don't expect to see them in the landscape. So much more to see.
DD Wilson — Google review
Happy for the new location and building, it's a work of art! Beware, the brown signs an the highway still make it seem as if the visitor center is still in downtown Hagerman, it isn't. Went on a Friday in the late afternoon and had the place to myself! Cool fossils and fossil casts. Ended up walking the path around the building and there was a bonus table with casts and fossils I could touch. A ranger (?) came out back and explained the difference between antlers and horns, I had no idea! The air conditioning was kicking and the bathrooms nice, I will be back! Lots of parking too, there is even parking for trucks with trailers or RV!
Frances “Fry” Sutton — Google review
Nice little National Monument Visitor's Center. Feature film was informative, and has a very kid-friendly corner with activities, and interactive displays.
Dexter Hu — Google review
Beautiful new museum, very interesting, gives you an idea about the fossils of the region and it’s FREE
Nourhen Brahem — Google review
Very nice displays, but small (you can view and read everything in 15 mins or less). The park employees that are working here are so lovely to talk to. The lady at the desk had great recommendations and shared good information about the park. If you don't have cash for the park gate, you can stop here and pay with card.
Rebecca Freeman — Google review
Great museum. Very small so doesn't take very long. They had a NPS Jr. Ranger badge here that was nice to do and learn more about fossils!
Ranger here suggested stamping the Jr Ranger badge on the back with the NPS stp! Wish I'd thought of this before! Absolutely great idea!
Allison Wright — Google review
A glimpse into the past is available here so take some time to see what Idaho's history held and the beauty of what is now. The staff are knowledgeable and love answering questions. And no, you can't look for your own fossils there.
Dave Clark — Google review
Small park it is combined with the National Monument. The state park area was closed for maintenance so we were unable to visit. The building is brand new and the displays so far are very well done.
Lisha — Google review
We’re big fans of the National Park system. We’ve learned something at even the smallest parks and this one was no exception. That said, there really isn’t that much there. The staff is very informative though. They have a cast of a mastodon head, a reproduction of a Hagerman horse skeleton, and numerous authentic fossils. The history of the actual site and Hagerman horse are interesting. You can see the site from an overlook, however, there is really nothing to see as there hasn’t been a dig in decades. The route is on the Oregon and Emigrate Trails which are interesting for the history but not so much what you see. If you’re in the area, it’s worth going.
Cynthia P — Google review
This was a nice little stop while we were in the area. As a geologist and horse lover, I was thoroughly fascinated with the Hagerman Horse. My kids loved playing with the hands on items available (and I appreciated that there was an area they could explore). Clean bathrooms and friendly staff topped off the visit. One thing though - Google maps doesn't show the accurate location for the visitors center... It's actually in the town of Hagerman, not in the designated land.
Leah Roper — Google review
The Visitors Center in the center of Hagerman City is where you start your journey. This place is staffed with retirees who are so passionate about the Hagerman Fissile Beds that it is contagious. You can watch a 12 min video on the Hagerman Horse (zebra-like) in the air-conditioned theater, read tons of info on what life was like between 3.7 and 3.1 million yes ago.
From the Visitors Center, you can head out to the Hagerman Fishery, follow the tour in your own car to the Snake River Overlook and concluding with the Oregon Trail Overlook (and Emigrant Trail Hike...we didn't do the hike. It was too hot & we're too old:)
Pics are of Oregon Trail Overlook.
Thousand Springs State Park encompasses several units, one of which is the Box Canyon Unit featuring a vast canyon with waterfalls, a bridge and breathtaking views. The park offers opportunities for hiking, guided tours and picnicking amidst the stunning scenery. Locating the trailhead may prove challenging as Google Maps often leads visitors down agricultural access roads. However, once found, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the canyon during sunset.
This is a beautiful park with a wonderful pedestrian bridge over the gorge. The views are fabulous. There are also many great lookouts points along the road through the park. There are flowing water falls and a beautiful river and the scenery is breathtaking. We enjoyed our visit and it was the trip.
Sharon Doyle — Google review
It costs $7 to enter this park. It was crowded today. Some people bringing dogs with leashed and some were unleashed. The picnic area has plenty of shades and well maintained.
Plumeria Bodhisattva — Google review
We were covered in TICKS after a short hike! Be careful. Cool spot with good views of the canyon. Small picnic/park area. Would consider it more of a rest stop.
C. Hans — Google review
This was a nice little pit stop on our road trip. The bridge was nice and gave you a closer look at the water below. There is also a nice grass area with a park and some restrooms
Simonita Driver — Google review
Just off I84 at Tuttle exit. Spectacular deep narrow gorge with a footbridge across to the other side. The nearby picnic area is large and well maintained with modern restrooms. A $7 fee for out of state residents is good for a day pass to all 7 units of the Thousand Springs State Park located close by on the Snake river
Mark Longstroth — Google review
I was traveling to Pocatello and saw this beauty from the road and immediately had to stop! Took my drone out and captured some amazing pictures of what I feel is a mini Grand Canyon, definitely worth the stop!
Eugene R — Google review
Awesome spot just off I-84. Makes ya sit back and enjoy the outdoors. Beautiful views. Stop and pay the $7 fee to help maintain the state park and grounds.
Jason Sayre — Google review
Couldn't see the springs. Only thing available to view is the Devils Washbowl. Which was cool. The bridge a cross is pretty high up. If you are sensitive to heights and vibrations, this may not be a bridge for you. Iade it half way and that was a bit much for me. And I've been on top of the Space Needle and was fine. And my phone takes amazing photos zoomed in.
Amanda Leighton — Google review
Amazing views, too bad the highway passes right over this spot, makes for a lot of noise, but it's still a beautiful place to come and sight see!
John M. — Google review
A small state park just off the interstate. I made a last minute stop while driving. It has a playground, some restrooms, and places to sit and picnic. A bridge on a trail let's you walk over the river and provides great picture opportunities. Its $7 to get in. Not a bad stop, especially if you like being outside.
Paul Tynda — Google review
$7 to go in seemed like a lot, considering all the places we've gone for free and seen better falls and nicer hiking areas. Most of the areas had the majority of the land blocked off with string. Even the bathrooms were closed. They had some Porta potties set up instead. Not my favorite place to go when the temperature is over 90 degrees.
Paul Kinzler — Google review
I can’t say I’ve seen a lot of gorges in my life,
but this one has to rank up there with the best of em. The view is absolutely amazing. You can even walk right to the edge and look straight down. It’s a little terrifying, especially on a day as windy as today was. Also, why is the water so pretty down at the bottom? It’s this greenish/blue and it’s unreal. After you see the gorge make sure you hop in the car and take the road down to see Woodys Cove. It was so windy, it was kicking up the water from the falls and it looked so rad. As far as gorges go I don’t think you could ask for anything better.
Mike — Google review
Great place to check out right off the Interstate. Not free to get in, $9 I think the fee was.
Campsite with RV sites, canvas domes & group tent areas at geothermal spring pools.
One of the best hot springs we’ve been to!
We took some advice and booked a private room/pool here and it was incredible. Not only do you have your own space to change but you have your own person hot spring! The best touch is that you can adjust the temperature by turning the knobs to release hot or cold water. One side of the pool is deep and one side is shallow because of the stairs so you can choose how you want to relax. An hour was plenty of time for 2 of us but I would consider booking the pool for longer if I came with a group. Once our hour was up, we went to check out the general admission pools and they were pretty packed with families so getting a room was the best decision we made for the day! Staff was friendly and it felt clean. We can’t wait to come back! It’s also not hard to get to, especially when it’s snowing so we loved the drive! And there’s no hiking! Just pull into the parking lot!

If you have the time to stay the night in one of the domes I HIGHLY recommend it. Me and my wife drove up in the winter time and it was so relaxing. It was a short drive for us since we live in meridian, also a very nice drive up there even at night. We went late at night and reserved a private tub so it was very quite and worth it. The room was very clean and well taken care of, the Dome is such a cool experience and sleeping was without issue.

This is one of my favorite places now that I have discovered it. A true oasis, gorgeous location with big trees on a creek, cute camping, super accommodating with a restroom lobby that is accessible all hours. Newly built, the pools are incredible. The biggest is just the right temperature to stay in for hours and is so deep I could barely stand up. The smaller pools vary in temperature, one of which is very hot. No cell signal at all, but not a far drive to one. Be sure to make reservations. As a senior, it was only $6.36 for the day! That is truly amazing and so welcoming to us older folks. Right down the road from some excellent kayaking and cute towns. Check out Hagerman and Buel (home of Magic Valley Brewing).
Beth Madison — Google review
One of the best experiences I've ever had with a hot spring. I had a great time kayaking in the river right next to the place and after the tiring paddling relaxing in the hot springs felt great. Very relaxing because there weren't many people at the time. There were 4 different pools with different temperatures so if you don't like it that hot you can go in the big pool. If you like it hot you can even go in the pool under the patio, which was by far the coolest pool. The bathrooms were well managed and clean. There was even an alligator resting in its own spring!
Muse Love — Google review
Absolutely awesome. No more RV campgrounds available. The hot springs is really amazing with four different temperatures pools. Reasonable price and highly recommended for anyone just wanted to relax. They also have private pool and they're usually pretty full. If you prefer to use the private pool, highly recommended to call advanced to reserve one. Otherwise public pools is fabulous.

We stayed in the Park Home and it was excellent- nicely decorated, clean, and modern inside. Comfy beds. The staff members at the office were so helpful to our requests and answered every question with a smile. The private soaking tub was very nice. We want to come back in the winter!

Always love coming here with the family. Very clean facilities and extremely friendly staff. The environment is a refreshing step back from the crazy busy world we live in. Make sure to book a reservation before you go, though, especially during peak season times.

This is the best hot springs I have ever been too!! The private pools are awesome! They have clean and privates bathrooms. I had no issues at all!
Lacey Davidson — Google review
First time visiting an open hot spring! Was well worth the drive from Twin Falls. Facilities were very clean--bathrooms, showers, floors, and the grounds were well kept. My rating is 4/5 because it's not a "luxury spa," and the public pools are more of a "kid's water park...." But the private pools are well worth a visit.
Paige L — Google review
Easily the most relaxing hot springs i've been to. The staff here is almost too nice, and that goes along with the overall vibe of the place. With 4 different pools going up, or down in temp depending on how you look at it. There's too hot, too cold, just right... and then another bonus just right... I was actually comfortable in all 4, i believe the hottest was at 104° while I was there. In one of the medium temp pools there is a cold spring blocked off in the corner which is just big enough to submerge while lying down. Having this option to go from cool to hot is exactly what the physical therapist ordered and some of the best muscle therapy out there. The private pools have deep set benches and enough space for 3(adults) to spread out, 4 would be fine, up to 6/7 could fit, but I'd feel a little crammed after 4/5. With on-site glamping domes, rv sites, and camp sites, this place quickly became a favorite destination of mine. I saw people catching fish in the river that runs by, on my previous stay I dipped my feet in and the water was warm! I can't wait to go back. There's also a wild surprise if you explore a little bit.
Heads up: Your gold may change color with the sulfer and oxygen if you're there long enough. Especially white gold. If you see the photo, my rings are both white gold, turned gold gold after a soak. They have since returned to their former color, but if you don't know, each a chemical change occurs on a physical element, it breaks down at least a little bit.

Have been enjoying Miracle for the past 45 years. They have made great improvements, private baths, sleeping yurts, varied temp pools. Kept clean. Make reservations early for yurts. Check out the alligator!

Enjoyed a vip private pool, very nice! Best cash I have spent in a long while! We were there around 5-6pm and it was nice and quiet one or two couples swimming in the main pool. One thing I noticed by 6 private rooms were completely booked. So if you plan on getting a private room book ahead of time. 1hr goes too quick 👍👍

My husband and I have been coming to this hot springs for years, and have always loved it! The pools are clean and well kept, the facilities are clean, and the domes, which we have stayed in twice now, are super cozy and worth the money!
Our biggest complaint now, however, is they just raised the prices of admission. When it used to be $20 for both of us to get in, it is now $30 AND we have to pay for our nine-month-old daughter. While we can tolerate a price increase for adults, it is ridiculous that we should have to pay $15 for an infant.
We no longer come to this facility for that reason, and have found another location that we like just as much! If they lower their prices back down, we will return!
Maren Sibbett — Google review
Wonderful water and neat yurts. Changing rooms are clean, staff is very good.
Neat little RV are along Creek. Although the highway is close enough to hear it's not terrible busy at night.
Our only complaints are that they just raised prices and the higher prices are steep especially for the area. (particularly for kids) Also being closed Sundays eliminates half of the weekend for people to enjoy.

Was in Boise from CO to visit family and the mentioned that Twin Falls had several hot springs.
After some suggestions from the state visitors site, ending up making the 2 hour drive to Miracle.
Well worth the drive.
Clean pools and changing rooms, intimate and charming, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Just as good as any springs in CO, without a thousand bodies to share with.
Ben Holms — Google review
We stayed for a long weekend and absolutely loved it. The general public pools are fantastic, even providing sports for chess boards to pass the time as you soak in the hot spring water. The private pools aren't the prettiest but they are nice to get away from the crowds. If you rent one of their glamping domes you get time in the private pool as an added bonus.
The glamping domes are so fun. We stayed in the King Dome and were thrilled. It was beautiful inside with a huge window facing the woods. The bed was a little springy and low but we slept great. There is a single bathroom open 24/7 you can access near the office. Only a short walk from the domes. Showers are available onsite during pool hours.
There is a special treat from the days Hagerman had an alligator farm. Right next to the King Dome is a fenced off area with a hot spring pool within. It houses a gorgeous 7 foot alligator. It doesn't move around much especially in cooler weather as it prefers to hang out in the hot spring water.

Very clean and staff managed.
There are therapeutic geothermal pools, private soaking, and massages. Private rooms to change and storage available for your personal items.
The staff was very friendly.
Debbora Bergeron — Google review
There's no smoking except in the parking lot. Makes it difficult for those who have a difficult time walking. No lifeguard on duty, saved a 3 year old from drowning. Parents preoccupied with other children.
Changing rooms on pool deck. Private hot springs with doors. Essentially, a square 5 ft by 5 ft, depth unknown. Can be used for whatever you choose. 21 available, may need to reserve time at the facility. Highly recommended to reserve a private soak!
Varying temperatures of the water. The 2 days I was there, the hottest pool was 102 degrees. If blood pressure is an issue, I do not recommend that pool.
If you choose that pool, do not stay in for more than a few minutes. I, personally, got dizzy due to my own health issues.
Beautiful place, friendly, knowledgeable local staff!
I highly recommend this place. They do have snacks, soda water available for purchase.
There are yurts/domes available to rent as well as RV space. Very limited space for RV. I have a van that doesn't need hookups, but, there was no overnight parking for me, nor were there any spaces for tent camping.
You may lose cell service getting there so look for the sign!

My wife and I came for our anniversary…1hr massages each, 2 hr VIP private pool, the only single-dwelling overnight room they have…exceptional!
The massages were first…professional and very relaxing. I loved mine, my wife loved hers. As for mine (the only one I can speak directly to) she was awesome. She said very little, only to know I was comfortable, which I like (I don’t like talkative masseuses). It was clear to me she was trained…she knew exactly what to do and how to do it…wow, I highly, highly recommend!!!
Next was the pool…ready for us, exceptional temperature (which you can adjust if need be). Very spacious and invigorating due to the natural minerals!
The room we had exceeded our expectations…it was spacious, very clean/sanitized, the king bed (the only one we used…two beds are available), was superb. Soft, silky, clean, relaxing…way to go, Miracle staff!
I can honestly say this room, in Hagerman ID, was better than most I’ve experienced…many in “five-star” locales.
I will be back…both for the room and the massages…again, way to go!

Been going to Miracle Hot Springs for several years now and I really like it. They have a public pool, and they have private pools with a standard and V.I.P. ones. I prefer the private pools. The standard size can accommodate 3 to 4 adults of average size comfortably. The V.I.P.s are larger and have a area where you could have a couple of beach chairs or a place to lie out if you choose to do so. We have had up to 4 adults in the V.I.P.s with no problems. I like the fact that all the pools are open air (no roofs) and the standard size has a little window cut out for a mice cross breeze! The bathrooms are clean and modern, with showers so you can rinse off first before going into the public pool, or rinse off after private pool use.The private pools the water is changed out and cleaned after each use. The one thing that would be awesome to have in each bathroom would be a swimsuit spinner to get out excess water, and perhaps some hooks to hang your clothes on while showering/changing. This is a family owned business, and they are super friendly!

Very clean and like being in a warm bathtub with all your best friends...🤣
They have multiple private pools and workers constantly cleaning the areas.
They have an alligator and snake pool! It's gated don't get nervous :D
They also have yurts and camping spots for RVs. The grounds look well kept
Worth taking an afternoon to explore. The river carves out a uneque canyon from the lava flows. Leaving beautifully sculpted rocks. Wear good shooes as the river bed is uneaven and can be very slippery. Their is a small parkimg aria you can access the canyon from, parking their is free.

Such a fun place to come. I bring my little kids, some places are hard to climb over rocks but it’s always an adventure. I’ve never seen the canal with water but would love to one day.!

It’s magical! I felt like I was stepping into another universe. This place is only accessible November-March. The water is flowing after these dates and the canyon is not accessible. It’s easy to find and not a complex little hike. I’ve included the signed at the stop to best explain the formations. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Just went and the river is raging. No access. Picnic area nearby. Guess it's good for a quick stop and to stretch your legs.

Absolutely beautiful little canyon. The way the water has shaped the rocks over the years is breath taking. The whole family had a blast. Can't wait to go back and explore some more.

The better access point to the Black Magic Canyon is at the old dam.

Roads are pretty good but the last few miles are on dirt road. Park right at the dam. Bring good shoes and gloves, points of the canyon do require scrambling. Great place to poke around in the fall.

Such a beautiful place that you don't even know about or see until you get there. It is only accessible in Winter and just watch out for snakes. We didn't see any on our trip but we still kept an eye out for them.

Shoshone Ice Caves
Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
Landmark spot boasts tours in underground lava caves with ice formations, plus a museum & gift shop.
Wow…just, wow! First time seeing a structure like this. And the fact that it’s not man made makes it even more spectacular! It was certainly chilly once you descend into the cave, make sure to bring a jacket, but absolutely worth it! The tour guide was wonderful, knew so much history about the cave and surrounding area. We enjoyed visiting the museum on site. After the tour we partook in a couple of activities. This included smashing geodes and using the sluice. Low key and fun. Recommend for families!

Unique experience . This is privately owned but still worth the trip.
there is a little bit of a hike over lava rock to the opening, Inside temperature when I visited was about 24 degrees (F). Our guide was named Mya. She did a great job and was well informed. Part way through the tour, she sang a song for us to illustrate the acoustics in the cave, She did a great job!
Joe Burgan — Google review
They have guided tours on the hour, with the last tour of the day at 4pm. The tour takes 45 minutes. The tour guide is informative and friendly and willing to answer questions. The museum is small and has some nice artifacts on display. This Ice Cave is a phenomena and is said to be one of two known ice caves. It has been restored to its original condition, which was to naturally form and keep ice inside of it. There is an amazing natural arch inside and it is like a big cavern inside. They have installed wooden boardwalks to make it easier to navigate walking inside. It is about 28 degrees inside the cave and there is ice year round. There is a gift shop too.

It's a pretty cool place. Our guide was a very talented teenager. She made the tour fun and knowledgeable
Debbie Anderson Eames — Google review
Such a fun stop on our adventures today! Right off the highway so very convenient. Price was a little high in my opinion but oh well. The gift shop was fun and the kids loved everything. Walking down the cave is kind of hard with "little" kids. My 4 year old was struggling and we had a large group so we kind of felt rushed. The rails in the cave seem alittle dangerous for little ones. I feel like they need to add another piece of wood to make sure no one falls off (little kids).. Feeling rushed and with kids is kind of hard. I would recommend still and really had a good time. It was COLD but I loved it. If you're frozen easily then bring a jacket.

This is a super fun day trip. The tour guide was great and very friendly. Cute shop with lots of snacks and fun goodies. Highly recommend.

Excellent tour of the ice cave and the guide gave an excellent history of the cave as well. Bring a light jacket and be prepared for uneven surfaces and walking in dim light. We've been twice and highly recommend. The adults and teens in our group all really enjoyed it.

Oh this has been on my bucket list for awhile. Finally made it there. I wasn't disappointed it was amazing to see it all to take in what was really quite amazing. The history wow I am in awe of the terrain down there but now I have a way better understanding of it all. I was all alone on my tour which I think was pretty fun. The girl that did my tour was very knowledgeable I appreciated her so much she was fun funny and I loved it. It was a special week for me because I had just met my sister for the first time and we went together but she couldn't do the tour. All in all I had fun so glad I went. Ty ice cave people

Our tour guide, Abby, was so sweet and did such a great job teaching us new facts about the Shoshone Ice Cave, the people who lived there and the different layers of lava at the cave entrance! The gift shop and museum is really nice too! Definitely worth the trip especially for only $12! The walk is as good as going down into a cave can be so people with bad knees might have some trouble and need to consider that before making the trip. Definitely bring a light jacket! 10/10 guys! Thank you!
Heather Sharp — Google review
Cool geological feature with interesting history. Cool temps year round in the cave - a light jacket is advisable . Tour guides were friendly and on script but willing to answer questions. Steps a little unstable. The cave is not wheelchair accessible. Portable outhouses in the parking lot. Nice little gift shop with drinks and ice cream. Worth the drive.

Kinda cool place. Don't expect to learn much about why the cave is cold or any real history about the area or native Americans.
The ice cave itself is 'cool' but it's an hour long tour that should take about 20 minutes in total. I'd suggest visiting the other cave with the museum that was closer to Shoshone.
Steven Warren — Google review
Interesting tour that is offered on the hour. It gets pretty cold and dark down there in the cave so bring a coat! Clean porta potties on site. Seasonal adventure

Ice spot to visit while in the area. Our tour guide was nice and knowledgeable.
A little dark inside (perhaps a few more strategically placed LEDs)...
Also, they should let visitors know to reconsider their visit if they intend to go spelunking at Craters of the Moon -
"clothing or any other item that has been in any underground space such as another cave or mine cannot be worn into the caves at Craters of the Moon..."

Fascinating history, great tour. Well worth it
Cathy Ji — Google review
Ya good tour. Feels like it goes by way faster than 40 minutes. It’s cool feeling the anxiety grow before you head into the cave but it opens up pretty wide. Fun experience. I saw a little girl hike it in some slides so it’s a pretty easy hike.

Went here with some friends as a fun day trip. The caves are so cool and the tour is engaging and fun. Their little shop is a delight and I even bought some trinkets for my family. If you're looking for a fun little trip to do with your friends or family then I highly recommend it!

I loved the tour! Very informative and fun. Very cold though, so bring a jacket. The temperature is 22 degrees F.
The Snake River Canyon Rim Trail is a 10-mile system of hiking and cycling trails that offers stunning panoramic views of the canyon, including Perrine Bridge and the river below. The trail is easily accessible from the Visitor Center on the south side of the bridge and is paved for a comfortable walk or bike ride. While some waterfalls along the way may not provide ideal views, reaching the Visitor's Center at its conclusion is a pleasant reward before returning to start.
Really nice paved trail along the canyon. The views on the smaller waterfall aren't great, but ending at the visitor's center was cool and a nice rest stop before walking back. If you're in Twin Falls and have a couple of hours, on a nice day, you should totally take this walk.

Hands down, this place is worth checking out. Services, food and experience were great and we had two young kids with us. Everything we ordered was delicious. Rolls with huckleberry butter, then crab, shrimp and artichoke dip, tomato basil soup, salmon and loaded garlic mashed potatoes, and lamb and cashew rice. Also the view was wonderful.

Beautiful day. Started at mm 4 and turned around at Evel Kneivel jump site. We've had alot of growth in the area so a good portion of this trail you aren't able to see the Canyon.
Maybe they should change this part to Snake trail instead.
Paved the entire way. Great for walking, running, biking, and roller blading would be fun.

A nice panoramic view, limited parking with a portable poti and bench. The map/sign needs repair. Easy access to the trail for walking and rolling along the rim.

My wife and I run the Canyon Springs grade about 3 times a week. We love the view and the wildlife. Most people are respectful and polite. However, there is a pernicious, persistent amount of litter being scattered along the entire road by a mindless few, and it never gets addressed. There are a few trash barrels available, but they are ignored by a percentage of mindless cretins who just chuck it out the window. Let's put a stop to it. Make the fine for littering $1500 for a first offense, and double it for every repeated offense. Write a few well-deserved tickets, enforce the fines, and the problem will evaporate, or you can pay me and my wife for our feeble attempts to keep policing up the garbage in a hopeless attempt to stem the flow. We are well into our 70's, and picking up unsightly trash is NOT on my bucket list. It is a beautiful treasure, our canyon. I have run that grade for 50 years. I wish to continue to enjoy it, and share it with future generations. I am not whining. I am simply laying out the facts. Let's fix this asap. That canyon is a jewel!

The view is spectacular. I love my peaceful run each time. There are restaurants near by after a satisfying run. I just wish people that walks their dogs are mindful and considerate about maintaining and respecting the trails' cleanliness maintenance, "pick up after your dog", it reflects on your character (you should always have a baggie when you're walking your pet). Our 2 GSD's love their walk as well, and YES we carry baggies at all times, and pick up after them, it's the RIGHT thing to do.

If you are traveling near Twin Falls you must stop and see the Snake Head River. This was a stunning view with a walking trail down and around the gorge. I spent the night in Twin Falls and I was not disappointed. Plenty of food options and the hotels were reasonably priced for the area. I heard there are two waterfalls you can check out on foot so make sure to stop in and see the scenic views.

This is one of the most beautiful walking/biking trails in Idaho (my opinion) It curves along the infamous Snake River Canyon. It's flat and pave for an easy walk. There's so many beautiful sight to list. You have to experience it for your self. The trail leads you from one end of the canyon to the other. It passes under the bridge, past the Evil Kenevil jump to unbelievable views of the Shoshone Falls. I only have a few of the magnificent views posted but I will update with more soon.
Dogs are welcome but they need to be on a leash and don't forget the poop bags as you NEED to pick up after them.

This place is beautiful and I can’t wait to see what it looks like during the summer!
Public park on Snake River featuring kayak/canoe rentals, guided boat tours, BBQs & a playground.
I was here in the winter but it's still a beautiful park with some very significant native American cultural ties.. the natives had shelter caves that are marked and can still be seen.. I believe these sights should be better preserved and taken care of for future generations to see and experience.. there are quite a few picknick spots and some playground equipment along with a boat ramp and docks.. plenty of grass and trees for shade with hiking trails everywhere. I would definitely recommend checking in out to anyone traveling through the area..

A nice public park on snake river adjacent to Golf course having breathtaking views of Perrine bridge, Perrine Coulee Falls. You can watch base jumpers from here. Nice playground, washrooms, BBQ facilities. Kayak, canoe, paddleboard boats are there. Few hiking trails, zip lining also there

Absolutely breathtaking. I was staying in a hotel a few minutes away and had no idea this treasure was right under my nose. So glad I decided to venture out to the canyon. Its just stunning. Not much cell service down there but its a great place to sit and enjoy a bit of peace and beauty.

My husband and I bring our kayaks down here a lot. It's the best place to get in the water at as it's the calmest. Then we kayak up the river past the bridge to pillar falls. It's a lot of fun! Tends to get pretty busy though and runs our of parking fast but still one of the best places to go.

Such a great place to visit. The dock for the boat launch was very easy to get to for our kayaks. There was a load/unloading zone. If you don’t have your own kayaks then there is a rental right there on site. It’s beautiful and clean.

Absolutely beautiful. Perfect spot for some pictures and panoramas!
Adventurers...bridge subsection underneath for thrills!!! If you climb down the stairs on the further side of the bridge there's an under construction bridge (under the big metal main one) that extends out to at least the middle of that gorge, a little sketchy and very exhilarating! Almost like freely standing over the huge voice Not for the faint of heart ;) some shakiness as cars pass up above 🤟

Cool place to stop for some amazing views! We were passing through on our way to NC. Wanted to stop at all the cool spots and see everything. The views here are incredible. After this we made our way down to the park where we walked around and took everything in. The waterfall is incredible, the water is beautiful. Wish we could have spent a whole day here. This was in august so the weather was perfect!

What can I say? What a beautiful place! With kayak and paddle board rentals that are very affordable. Water was excellent too. Little busy but not to over crowded. Also have zip line tours! And the waterfall is a must see

8/25/22- nice park and boat launch. We visited on a sunny Friday in late August and found plenty of parking at 8:00am but the park was filling up by the afternoon when locals arrived after work to start their weekend fun. A friendly park worker was on site cleaning and stocking the restrooms and answered a few of my questions. We put the paddle boards in at the boat dock and paddled up river to Shoshone Falls. We saw at least a half a dozen parachuters jump off the bridge when we passed under it. The water is low this time of year, requiring us to carry our boards over the lower dry falls to access the second half of the river to the gorgeous Shoshone Falls. We enjoyed our day in the park and on the river!

The Perrine Memorial Bridge is a truss-arch bridge that spans the Snake River, known for its minimalist construction and impressive height. This landmark has some historical significance as it was featured in Evel Knievel's attempted jump across the river in 1974. In addition to its history, this location offers breathtaking scenery and provides visitors with opportunities to enjoy natural wonders while also being an exciting destination for BASE jumping enthusiasts.
This place is unreal. We got there and there were BASE jumpers jumping off the bridge. It was fantastic and a most see. Great parking and friendly people around. If you drive by Twin Falls, please stop by and check it out. Your won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely breathtaking especially during sunset! This is also in the winter.. during summer it’s even more beautiful!! Definitely recommend to stop by and check it out if you’re ever in the area. So beautiful here!! There’s even some lava rock sediments on a hill. So beautiful.

Captain Ahab of Ahab's Adventures enjoying the view of modern engineering that is Perrine Memorial Bridge. We had planned to hike from here to the Evel Knievel jump site, but right before got a local tip to access it via a secret location. Though our stay was short at the viewing point, you could see why this site is so popular literally being near just about any amenity you could think of while in Twin Falls.

A cool landmark and feature over the canyon. You can get great views from Centennial Park and there is a pull out so you can walk under the bridge on the north side.
If you are lucky, you can see base jumpers jumping off the bridge. Kind of a "oh my" moment when you see them leap off the bridge.

Beautiful scenery it's a must for anyone driving through this place has some history with evel knievel trying to jump across the snake river back in 1974 but failed also people base jump off the bridge just taking a walk and enjoying the natural wonders its relaxing and fun.

This bridge is absolutely free of charge and has enough entertainment for your entire family for hours. No wonder it's a huge tourist attraction. Thanks to the city of Twin and the entities that support all these facilities. You can watch base jumpers (that sometimes end up in the river). You can walk or jog the long trails and across the bridge. You can go under on both sides, so every inch of the area is pedestrian-friendly. You can read history and see the various monuments. There are free, clean restrooms nearby. Easy, free parking. Shade, or a breeze. Views for (literally) miles.
Todd Beck — Google review
Beautiful spot. There is a little parking for the scenic lookout on both sides of the highway. It is a couple of meters after/before the bridge.
The sad thing is: I caught on the camera some kids, under the supervision of their parents, grafting the handrails. That is not right.
Renata Hedman — Google review
Excellent bird of the snake river if you’re brave enough to walk across. You can pull off and park on either side just on the way out of or into town on highway 93. Once you get to the bridge on foot choose which side to walk on by using the stairs and connecting path underneath. There’s one on either side so if you go across you can come back on a different side and still get back to your car. My advice is the railing will turn your hand black with dirt so be prepared with wipes and please pack them back out with you. Oh! And you might see some BASE jumping too
Margaret Chicoine — Google review
It's definitely worth the stop to check out and walk around. If you're lucky, you may catch a base jumper jumping from this 498 foot bridge down to the river side below. This is 1 of 2 bridges in the world that doesn't require a permit to base jump, and the only one in the U.S.
Chris Setzer — Google review
The Perrine Memorial Bridge is quite the impressive sight! It is a little nerve-wracking driving across as the bridge is very tall. It is an incredible engineering feat to span such a large gap at such a high elevation! You can apparently go base jumping off it, but we didn’t try that.

Beautiful truss arch 4 lane bridge, 457meter long & 148 meter above snake river. Amazing views of bridge from visitors center which is at south end of bridge. Popular & only man-made allowed structure for base jumping. Lot of base jumpers were getting ready for jumping when we visited. From top of bridge views are stunning of snake river canyon
You can go under bridge also on trail.

So much fun! I enjoyed this, but make sure you find the right place to park! There's a shopping center, access the bridge from that parking lot. This gives you access to a cool statue and all the overlooks into the canyon and the best view of the bridge ... o, and access to paver pathways under the highway etc. if you wanted to walk. Overall, a quick stop, maybe 30 mins to appreciate it [w/o walking too far/much], and photograph. I thought it was worth it.

Cool feat of engineering with gorgeous views of the canyon. Definitely worth a five or ten minute stop. Bonus is that the spot where Evel Knievel attempted to fly across the snake river canyon can be viewed a mile or so westward.

If you're lucky you can see BASE jumping! I was passing through town, drove across the bridge and saw a girl jumping off the bridge. So pulled over at one of the several parking lots, and spent the next 45 minutes watching many jumpers. Very awesome bridge!! And so awesome that it's apparently not illegal to jump. Good job to the local government or whoever allows it.

This bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho on across Snake River is a marvelous peice of architecture. The visitor center is also very beautiful. It has restrooms and big parking lot. There is hiking trail around the bridge. Also people jump off the balloon from this bridge. We loved the whole scenery. People were walking their dogs/ hiking etc. the gorgeous Snake river flowing underneath looked very pretty.

Shoshone Falls Park features green space that includes a boat launch, scenic overlook, trails, picnic areas and a concession stand. The park is renowned for Shoshone Falls, Idaho's most iconic waterfall which reaches full force during late summer after snow melt-off. However, visitors should be aware of the potential for wildfires during this time. River levels will be lower and warmer than usual making it an ideal spot for beginners to try out whitewater rafting.
Shoshone falls park is absolutely worth the drive, worth the stop!! It is a gorgeous view, a beautiful grounds for having a picnic lunch, has restrooms to use, dog friendly, has a gift shop, and you can order lunch, snacks & drinks! The gal working the gift shop was SO nice! She was friendly, efficient, and down to earth. The view of the falls is spectacular, and we even made some new friends!
Overall, I highly recommend stopping her for a while to visit and take in the beautiful views!

A must-see on your tour of America’s sites. Taller than Niagara Falls, Shoshone is as breathtaking as it is beautiful. The powerful water streams are stunning to view, hear, and feel. The falls are thunderously loud. There is plenty of vehicle parking, with gentle green hills for children to play in or dogs to catch an exercise break. A small snack shop provides sundries. Tons of information about Shoshone is posted throughout. Take a guided or self-guided tour, up to you. There are trails that extend into the Canyon Rim if you’re feeling athletic, or simply want a different vantage point of the falls. I love visiting - we usually catch a rainbow in the mist 🌈

The park staff were super friendly! Unfortunately when we went, the falls weren't full and one of the water paths had dried up. Still worth the admission, they have several different viewing areas to get a glimpse of the falls. Go earlier in the spring and summer if you want to see the full falls.

Shoshone Falls Park is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Idaho, offering a breathtaking natural spectacle that will leave you in awe. This majestic waterfall rivals even the grandeur of Niagara Falls with its powerful cascade plunging into the Snake River Canyon. The park boasts well-maintained trails, scenic viewpoints, and picnic areas perfect for a family outing or a romantic escapade. The surrounding landscape is stunning, providing a picturesque backdrop for photography enthusiasts. Visitors can witness rainbows dancing in the mist and feel the cool spray on their faces. Shoshone Falls Park is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Shoshone Falls was quite the surprise for me! We were in town visiting some friends, so we decided to go check out the falls along the way. This is one of the only places I have ever seen a double rainbow in all my years of being in nature so that was a very nice surprise to see! The falls can get a little busy, but they weren't bad moving around and taking pictures. There are a number of birds that fly down near the falls as well so you can get some great shots with the double rainbow going over the falls. This is a must see if you are in the area!

Early morning is a lovely time to visit. I arrived early enough that they hadn't opened the spillway and you can see a picture where the waterfall wasn't flowing. An hour later they had opened the dam and the waterfall was running in all it's non-spring glory. Spring time is amazing in comparison as the whole waterfall from side to side is cascading.
There is a path for bicycling and walking toward the rim and along it. It's well worth the experience. The beautiful stream waterfall in my pictures is available at the head of that path and is a lovely place to sit and enjoy for a couple minutes

A complete surprise in the canyon. We stayed in Twin Falls, ID we were talking to some locals about how nice the town was and they made the suggestion to go see the twin falls at Shoshone Falls Park. The next morning before we left town we went and we were so glad that we did! This is a beautiful place and if you're in the area, I highly recommend to visit.
It was a five dollar per car entry fee, to drive into the canyon to go to the park, viewing area and lake entry and they have a pool there as well.
We had Jolie Fleur so I could walk her in the beautiful green grass with many trees for shade. There were tables for families. Parking was good but with the amount of people coming into park, they could use more spots. The viewing areas were very well done. We were both amazed with the cleanliness of the park. Note, the drive into the canyon is narrow & winding so be prepared, but it is doable.
What I have learned, take time to see the local beauty as you pass through a town or area. You'll be richer for it.

I've seen amazing falls from South America, Hawaii, and Niagara and Shoshone holds its own!
It's almost mind-boggling how this place just comes out of nowhere farm land. Nice town to stay in as well. We will come back when the falls are actually flowing but regardless it's a beautiful park! $5 entry fee is worth it.

Shoshone Falls Park was a delightful experience. The falls were beautiful, the grass lush green, even in August. Well manicured areas to throw down a picnic.
The road from the gate to the falls could use some work, yet that is understandable considering the terrain. Take your time around the corners and you shall be fine easy in , easy out. Ample parking and I do suggest that RVs and those pulling a trailer use the designated parking for such vehicles.
Safety note, the signs that warn of danger are not a joke and I employ person's to heed them, as they are there for a reason
The concession stand was well maintained and had great prices. Do not expect a Kobe burger flown in from Japan, it is just a burger.
Thus saying the price is right.
Enjoy the trip to and from and take a bit of time to look at the falls from different angles, provided in different areas. Shoshone Falls is definitely worth a visit and a bit of time to relax and enjoy the beauty that is our planet full of wonders.

This is a beautiful park with spectacular views. The little walk-up gift shop was unique because everything is behind the counter and they bring out things for you to see close up. The restrooms have flush toilets though the facilities are dated. The grounds are beautifully kept. There is a lot of shade in the tree-area. It's well worth a visit when the falls have a good flow year.

Vehicle entry fee is $ 5.
Virws are spectacular from view plateform.
Although less water falls in September, still a beautiful place to visit.

Gorgeous rock formations and some very nice and easily accessible viewing platforms. The Snake River is very wide and looks so beautiful with its rich greenish color. Some of the rock formations are so white and look so pretty in contrast with the river. It is very relaxing to be there.

Awesome!! The falls were running today but they had the road closed to go all the way down. So I got some pictures from above

The Army Core of Engineers turned off the water, and was dry. It was still quite a sight. Hiking near the lake was fun. We had a dog so you had to go to the left. Good times.

Such an amazing work of nature!
The road to the park takes you to a large parking lot and nice paved overlooks perfect for picture.

It was the 'low season', but still powerful and well worth the visit. No fees, camping areas, and picnic tables to include porta potties. A fun side stop.

Couldn't access the actual waterfall due to the road being blocked, closed. Roads were plowed but there was no access to drive your vehicle. Pretty disappointing. But it looks like a beautiful area. We'll have to return!

Great fun for family all year round. And great fishing

So much fun!! Swimming in a blocked off section with a diving board. Plenty of sand for kids and shallow water. Cliff jumping. Playground. Plenty of room for everyone. They have bathrooms and a snack bar. We will definitely be back.

Great place to take the family. My kids caught their first fish here and they love to swim in the docked off area. It's close to town and is a fun place to bbq and hang out on a summer evening. Can be a little crowded on holiday weekends, but that's to be expected. All in all, we really like it
Bo Hurley — Google review
It is a cool park with lots of ground for activities and picnic along with a swimming and fishing area. It was very cold on the day we visited so we didn’t stay too long but the plus is that it is so close to Shoshone falls without all the people if you’re looking for a picnic place.

Fun place to visit. Lots of scenery. Great place to swim, climb on the rocks, or walk the trails. I enjoy taking my rc rock crawlers there with my son and my friends.
Colt Bess — Google review
Gone here many times. $2 entry fee per vehicles. Can get crowded in the afternoons but not to the point that you don't have room to play. We go around 11. It gets busier around 2. Shallow area for the kids with a concrete wall separating the deeper end. Cliff jumping for the brave. Only about 15 feet but still fun. Diving board and docks you can jump off in the deeper side. Grassy and shaded area for picnic and spectators.

I love this place. We had a beautifully sunny weather when we got to the Dierkes Lake. A lot of marmot's walked around. 👍👍👍

Wow! If you like to swim and feel very close to nature this is the place for you. Diving board, child swim area, and cliffs right up against the lake. This lake has a lot to do for variety of age groups. You can also rent kayaks. The water is turquoise blue and clean.
R S — Google review
Shoshone is the heart of Twin Falls, and Dierkes is a must visit for anyone living here. It's a clean, quiet little swimming spot and recreation area. I've swam in many bodies of water in my travels and this lake is one of my favorites. Can be packed in the summer and on weekends/holidays, so try to visit on an off day if you can.
Edit 07/01/23: One of the (female) park staff was incredibly hostile to three children (boys.) From what I could tell the boys were not being rambunctious or anything worth screaming about. She rifled through their things on the beach and threatened to call the police because they "talked back." It was overall an embarrassment to herself and everyone watching. Mind you these were children maybe 12 years old. She drove away on the golf cart after yelling and didn't return. The boys left on their own shortly after. I don't know if she was drunk or something but very unpleasant for everyone involved.

WOW! What a blessing to have met Jerry in person, he shared his personal adventure stories, and awoke my inner spirit. Honestly, Jerry is my new idol and role model. Best ski resort in the magic valley. Very good location to learn and practice skiing and snowboarding. A little of everything for difficulty if you want to practice carving run down instructor if you want to have a flatter spot to practice 180-360 run down milk. If you want to send it on large snow drifts run down yahoo. A hidden gem where you can ride down the mountain instead of waiting .

Pomerelle is a wonderful place for family activities. I taught my 10, 8, and 6 year old how to ski last year, and it is now thier favorite thing to do. This year I am teaching my 5 yr old to ski. We are having a blast.
Troy Peterson — Google review
Skied at Pomerelle for the first time today, and it was great. This mountain has good snow and enough different types of terrain and runs for all skill levels. The views at the top of the mountain are fantastic.
We’ll for sure come back and I’m already looking forward for the next time we visit.

An absolute gem. I learned to ski at pomerelle mountain and have been going for over a decade. The mountain continues go be upgraded and usually has great snow. The lodge is very cozy and has pretty good food. This mountain has a great hill for beginners and is a perfect place to bring beginners. It is never very crowded and you rarely have to wait to get on the lifts.
Tyler Jensen — Google review
Pomerelle is great, especially if you enjoy effortless skiing. Some of my advanced and expert skiers think that there is not enough challenge here, with only one black trail and no double blacks. But the intermediate blue trails are delightful and varied. One very long blue trail has been sculpted into a series of undulating steps, which is fun to ski. Also, there are lots of green trails suitable for beginners. Best of all, Pomerelle gets lots of good dry snow aka powder.
Emilio Trampuz — Google review
My new favorite spot! This resort is so much fun and the snow base is impressive. Yes it's not a huge resort with steep terrain, BUT if you're looking for quick, nice groomed, fresh runs then it is perfect. The lack of people crowding the mountain was a huge benefit for me. It is a peaceful and simple resort with a beautiful drive up the mountain. The lift operators were diligently working on the ramps each time I came though and the entire staff was very friendly. I look forward to returning, thanks for making my day Pomerelle!! 💚
Jessica Jaeger — Google review
The snow conditions and trails were great. Very skiable terrain with fresh powder and groomed trails, and especially liked the powder and drifts in the ungroomed trails… what an adventure. Even the black diamond runs were very skiable, even for novices. Just beautiful. Lodge was basic, but we were not there to hangout on the lodge.

Pomerelle is tucked away into a small mountain (peak at just less than 9000ft), this resort is small, but has 32 runs and endless "create your own adventure" through-the-trees trails. Our kids are 15,13,11 and 9, we all greatly enjoy that there are hills for all the skill levels here. Check out the sweet ski discount packages they have for homeschoolers! I took my son snowboarding here for his birthday and didn’t see the hours posted for half day (my mistake) We showed up in the morning and had to leave by noon because of other plans. The owner was very understanding and let us in for the first half of the day instead of making us pay for the full day. Thanks for helping make his day. Also the snow was great, the trails are well groomed and the rental gear is pretty decent.

I've been coming here for years and with the other local mountain I have access to suddenly raising their prices to compete with Jackson hole and targhee it is the best option fun diverse runs for intermediates. If you're looking for double blacks look elsewhere but staff are super friendly and helpful I go on weekdays and can usually count the number of cars in the lot on 2 hands it's just great. Great snow and 4 decent parks currently. I think they have recently upgraded their lifts and we never seem to get delayed by the lifts
Rock climbing, bouldering & hiking among massive stone formations with prehistoric pictographs.
The State has done a great job here. Great destination for birding. Really complements the adjacent City of Rocks National Reserve quite nicely. Got a little lost at times while on the trails but with a little bit of brainpower it’s easy to find your way.

We've climbed and camped at City of Rocks before but this time we added climbing at Castle Rocks as well. The park is just as beautiful and well maintained. A nice covered pavilion/group picnic area with vault toilets, and garbage/recycle cans are near the lodge and bunkhouse. There is also a small fishing pond and disc golf course nearby as well. The trails and climbing routes are fantastic. They even have a small protected area with ancient pictographs. Please remember to respect these wild and cultural resources and help the park staff keep these wonderful places open for all to enjoy.

This is an excellent place to have a climbing trip! We go every year. We started out renting yurts here, which are super fun, but eventually we switched over to the bunk house which has been great. Castle Rock is a fantastic are to rock climb. The four pitch on the south face is fun, but the canyon on the backside is a really diverse are and has tons of runs. The north east side of castle rocks, over by the Taco, has some extremely fun climbs as well. That are is a little less busy, which can be nice.

Beautiful place! $7 entrance fee is well worth it!
We took the 3 mile hike around castle rock. It’s a good hike for beginners/families.

Great hiking around large granite monolithic stone shapes. Vault toilets at trailheads were clean and stocked. Had picnic tables at trail heads. It gets hot in July so short hikes for dogs.
Nica Grossheim — Google review
So many cool things to come climb and see! It's a beautiful park with a five dollar vehicle entry fee to help reduce impact. There are loads of hiking trails all through the park either becoming loops or leading to climbing areas! It's amazing out here!
Quinn Dexter — Google review
My wife and I kept pointing at all the little piles of rocks along the way and saying “oh look that must be castle rock!”
We did not have high expectations, especially as we closed in on the destination and couldn’t see *anything* that looked remotely interesting.
Then, in the blink of an eye, these giant stone formations seemingly appear out of nowhere dominating the horizon.
From a distance they appear majestic, almost like something out of lord of the rings.
Up close the magnitude and beauty are breathtaking. Countless trails, new sights, and wonder fill this place.
You could get lost just thinking about the grandeur that surrounds you.
We went late in the day with uncertain expectations, only to realize we didn’t have enough time. We plan on returning soon to take it all in.

This was a really fun place to go see, a good excuse to go travel around see some small towns and hit some dirt roads. I like the rock formations it's kind of neat how they're out there and so many of them. Other places in this area you can look out and see on forever and apparently they're in the area the old California wagon Trail went through

great landscapes for climbing. We were not professional climbers but had fun climbing ard to enjoy the view from the top!
Expansive state park with camping, rock climbing & hiking, amid impressive granite rock formations.
Great granite blocks! Hikers will enjoy scrambling among them, and climbers recognize this place as among the highest concentrations of quality moderate trad routes in the country. Great place to acclimitize before heading to higher peaks. Hikers - please know your limits, the climbers you may see free soloing or roped climbing have trained in ways you haven't.

8/25/22- City of Rocks is a beautiful remote location. All campsites had something special to offer, well set out tent pads, great views, easy access to awesome climbing routes or trails, some sites were walk-ins set among the privacy of trees and foliage, others are adjoining parking lots which may be an advantage to those wanting to be near restrooms. Sites could be found completely isolated or clustered together if your camping with a larger group. The restrooms are pit toilets but were immaculately clean and stocked. Friendly park rangers serviced the restrooms daily and were present to answer any questions. There was a water spigot at the Bath Rock parking area but was being serviced at the time of our visit. We had a great time and look forward to visiting again!

Holy Moly, Rock & Rolly. This place is amazing! So many beautiful rocks to enjoy. I'm a bit bummed that it's a little early to enjoy the whole park, due to snow and road conditions. They really need to pave the main road. But I will be back, maybe mid May. Rangers at the Visitor's Center are really helpful and cool.

This place has a ton of hiking 🥾 trails and as most of you know, it has all levels of rock climbing. 🧗♂️
I, myself, do not do any climbing other than into my bed every night. 🛌😁
The rock formations are pretty cool. 😎
There’s plenty of places to camp but I’m not a camper either. 🤷♀️So we stayed in a hotel nearby. I just like to take pictures 📸of these beautiful sites and the adventurer’s. So, here’s some of my photos.

Beautiful landscape. It is not the most dramatic rock formation in the world but if you live a few hours nearby, a visit is well worth it. Allegedly the rocks are from 2 billion years ago. We were lucky to see it while covered with a thin veil in snow. I especially love all the vegetation that looks like little balls of rocks too. There is good hotel options around. The visitor center is also a gem and certainly do read the geology book there.

What a gorgeous place! I feel like it gets overshadowed by Craters of the Moon or the big national parks to the east, but City of Rocks is most definitely worth a visit.
In addition to the spectacular rock formations, there’s a lot of neat information on the Oregon Trail emigrants.
One thing I’ll note is to definitely check the website before going to see if the road is open. We did not and the route we took was closed. However the park ranger, who could not have been friendlier and more helpful, coached us in.

City of Rocks is awesome! So much to do for literally anyone! Awesome rock climbing, great hikes, accessible look out points, and the vibes are immaculate. Everyone was so friendly and respectful. To me, that really made this place special. The road through the park is gravel and it did get a little slippery when it rained briefly. Personally, I think that adds to the appeal. You really feel like you're out in the mountains and I really appreciate that. Highly highly recommend visiting!

Beautiful granite natural marvel. Onway to Twin fall city, first we reached Visitor center for information. It opens from 8am to 4.30pm. With passage of time weathering of granite rocks occurred giving different shapes to rocks, displaying steeples, cathedral, pyramids, windows etc. Few important rocks are Treasure, Register, Camp, Elephant, Bath rock to see. One can enjoy Rock climbing, camping, hiking, horse riding, picnicking activities.
No entry fee for park.
Pets must be leashed.
Drones flying is prohibited.
Campfire is allowed in designated areas.
Washroom facility is limited.
Beautiful place to enjoy granite spell bound beauty.

Love this park. It is beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was there were no bathrooms, you have to go all the way to the visitor center, which wS well maintained. There also isn't no parking. You have to pull off to the side of the road. It does offer several camp grounds that are located in the park. The park is well maintained. I will definitely return, this is a must see

We stayed the week before Christmas for a night. We were the only ones in the campground area and it was AMAZING. Beautiful views, lots of animal tracks, and cool rocks to explore. Such a cool spot.

This is a rock climbers paradise. As a person who has done a little rock climbing it was interesting to see. As a hiker, we hiked the 6.5 mile south and north Creek circle loop. It was a fun hike with some views but nothing spectacular. I think the most confusing aspect was the campground situation. The campsites are spread throughout the reserve on the main road or just off it. We reserved campsite 3, not realizing it was 4 miles south of the main group of campsites and main road. If you want to be in the midst of the main city of rocks you should reserve a site 5-xx. 1-4 are 4 miles south. Site 3 was ok but it sits right in a gap in the rocks and if it is windy the wind will probably howl right past your tent or small camper like it did while we were there. Making it too windy for a fire or sitting outside in the evening. Site 2 is a little more protected and site 4 is a tent site only and a decent walk from your vehicle which would sit on a very sloped surface. We were glad we went but one night was enough to get a good idea what the reserve is like since we are not climbers.

Incredible. Quite a few people and a lot of kiddos. It's hard to not act like one of the kids when you're here. It's so much fun climbing and crawling around on the rocks. Wear shoes with any type of grip, there's a lot of slick rock. Make sure to check out Register Rock, where the people on the Oregon/California Trail wrote their names on the rock in axle grease. Very cool.
This place was also a place of reverence for the native people.
I hope everyone is respectful of this beautiful place.
They do have vault restrooms and trash cans, so utilize those. (By throwing away your trash and packing out what you packed in.)

One day will not be enough! Camp at the twin sisters and take the large loop one day, and the more inner trails the next! Read up on the history before you go, and you won't be able to stop imagining all the natives/cowboys and pioneers that came through. Bring bear spray, there are big cats. I didn't see or hear any on my trip but stay prepared!

I don’t know how this place can be so unknown—it’s fantastic! Great little hikes, tons of climbing and bouldering, camping, stunning rock formations and wildflowers, and plenty for birders to scope out. The folks at the Visitors Center are well informed, kind, and extremely helpful as well. My friend and I spent several hours here, but this is well worth staying a few days.
The National Parks Service app has a couple of great self-guided tours for some of the shorter hikes so you can learn about the geology and history of the area too.
Karly Bryant — Google review
Mostly known for its climbing opportunities. We found the hikes to be pretty spectacular in June. If you wait until July or August, it's probably going to be too hot because a lot of the hikes are exposed in high desert. The geology is amazing.
Stop at the visitor center first and talk to Russ. Pick up a map. Do the interpretive trail using their website explanations.
All the roads in the park are dirt, but they're well-maintained and smooth.
Great lil state park and fantastic campground. Two small loops of camping, looked like every spot had electric and water. It is kind of expensive $25-30 for out-of-staters. Showers were nice as well, super clean! Trails and other areas to explore too. 10/10 would stop at again.
Nick Cornell — Google review
Well-maintained, quiet, beautiful park. Tons of groomed trails, lots of amazing rock formations, diverse wildlife and plant varieties, not to mention the most incredible views of the Snake River. Amenities include several docks, a boat ramp, fishing area, 18 hole disc golf course, an exploratory visitor center, several cabins, tent sites, and RV sites. Cabins have an air conditioner, mini fridge, table, chairs, bunk beds single over double) and a couch that that slides out into another double bed. RV sites have all hookups except sewer but there is a conveniently located dump station. Camp bathrooms are clean and the upper loop bathroom has showers. All camp sites have a fire pit and picnic bench and most have shade half the day from the surrounding trees. Camp sites are far enough apart and surrounded by juniper trees so there is enough privacy. Most of the year it is a bit breezy which is nice because it's a high desert climate. Overall, one of my most favorite state parks.
Devin Stanley — Google review
Late March visit. We camped out overnight. The facilities are always clean and nice, better than most camping resorts that I've been to. Plenty of hookups for RVs and things like that. Very quiet this time of year, as far as campers go. There's always a little noise from the traffic. We camped closer to the river, so the noise was coming from the west. It's always a pleasure to see the cliffs and rock formations.
The soil is well worked in the campsite areas, making it easy to put down tent stakes. The fire pits and tables and other amenities that people often overlook are very well kept. The staff was very friendly, and the camp host was very kind. Remember to bring your own firewood. You're not allowed to start gathering from the local branches and trees.
Adam Mc — Google review
Nice place with a great disc golf course, probably the best course I've played and I've played quite a few. The bathrooms are too few and far between and just average with flush toilets. The campsites are kinda cool with large rocks for kids to play on, with good distance between sites. You definitely want the lower loop to stay away from highway noise. The showers are hot.
TA B — Google review
Nice park with history on the Snake River! We camped here for one night. Our campsite (32) was a little tight with the trees. We noticed that there were more spacious sites after walking around the campground. The park has nice walking trails and boat dock. We would definitely go back if driving through the area.

We had a great time camping overnight here! Great staff at the visitor’s center that helped us get checked in. They sell ice and wood there for good prices. We really loved our campsite location. We could see the river in both directions out of camp. Super clean bathrooms and really decent showers that are all lit at night. Every site has water and electricity with both RV hookups and regular outlets. A little road noise but the sounds of crickets drowns it out at night. Absolutely beautiful area and quite a few areas to fish. We enjoyed hiking all over the park and everything was close to our site. If you like to play disc golf, they have two courses. If you want to try, they sell discs in the visitor’s center. Over all a super fun and family friendly place to stay! We will be going back every year.

We had a wonderful time! The Cottontail cabin had a great view and was close to the trails throughout the park. The cabin was clean with a mini fridge and a/c unit (even though it struggled with the heat) which helped a lot. Beds were ok and the shade over the picnic table in the afternoon makes a big difference. Will be back!

Stayed a week. Pretty area. Hiking and fishing opportunities. Clean restrooms. Stayed in Upper campground, which it turns out is a bit noisier due to freeway noise. Would stay in lower campground in the future. Oregon Trail trail was very interesting, as was Register Rock. Visitor Center is informative.

We love this campground. The campground host was so nice. We were there before the lower campground was open, so the upper campground was packed. They only had one bathroom available in the campground for everyone to use. Sometimes, you had to wait 20 minutes or more for someone to come out. They finally unlocked another bathroom at the end of the day on Friday. The visitor center was only open Monday to Thursday. This is a great place to camp at. We met a great family from the Netherlands. There are plenty of trails to hike on, and you can go down and fish along the river. They have great cabins of you don't want to camp in a tent or RV. All the sites have electric and water.

Awesome scenery. Rained on us. What part of arid did the sky not understand? Rubbing a little sage made a wonderful aroma. I can see why the Native Americans liked this bush. And the lichen and moss! I am fascinated by them.

Beautiful park. Nicely wooded campsite. Crazy amount of flies while we cooked dinner over a campfire. Our site had a nice campfire ring and large picnic table. There was a nice clean bath house very close to our campsite as well. Nice little trails to walk around with a beautiful view of the snake river.

Every time I’ve passed by the sign on the interstate, I’ve always wanted to stop. I finally had the time to do so. Not sure if it was because of the holiday weekend or what but I was slightly disappointed. The overall condition of the area wasn’t ideal. The visitors center looked overgrown and unkept. The were gates closed and trails blocked. Other patrons were driving like lunatics. Overall the views I did get to see were okay. Much better in the opposite side of the interstate where you can find register rock. There some neat rock formations down a dirt road on that side as well.

Stayed in the Sagebrush cabin. Wonderful location. Nice view of the river from the front porch and fire pit area. Cabins are very small. One very small table and two small beds. Window air conditioner that specifically says “don’t use on high”. Park host was friendly and drove up minutes after we pulled in. Cabin itself was so so. We were just passing through and only needed to stay one quick night on the way back from Moab. The blinds over the windows were broken so you couldn’t raise them up. Window sills were filthy, looking as if they had never been cleaned. Mattresses on both beds had some type of polyester? cover. Nothing that gets cleaned. We were assured by the park host that the restrooms and showers were “big and nice and hot showers” They were big. No toilet paper in half the restrooms or paper towels. Sinks had plenty of hot water, but non existent in the showers. There was someone else’s left over beer can in the fire pit. Would stop to enjoy the State Park, probably not stay the night.
Site of the completion of the transcontinental railroad, this park features working steam trains.
At the gift house and visitor center everyone was so friendly. There was a 20 min video about the two rails coming together. There was so much fun stuff for all ages. If your going to fallow the rail track road trail make sure you have a couple of days to see everything

We have stopped here before a long time ago and thought we would go again. It is definitely worth the drive out to visit. We went with family and had a great time. There are 2 auto tours you can go on as well as a hike at the Big Fill. There is a video that really is a must see. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We loved when they brought out the Jupiter and the 119. The reenactment was wonderful. If you are passing through the area, it is definitely worth the visit.

It was great to see a place that I referred from high school American History. I appreciate that the immigrant workers were celebrated, years after their erasure from the original telling of history. The rain that I didn't give 5 stars is because the various markers and places of interest were a bit disjointed, even with the vet helpful guide. The rangers are great and the air conditioning in the main building was very welcome.

The drive to the Golden Spike in Promontory, UT is well worth the visit! The museum has a 20 minute movie that runs every half hour which allows for time to join the reenactment outside! The steam engines were amazing to see in action and the history of the Golden Spike is easy to follow along. A must see!

This is a neat piece of history, preserved by the National Parks Service. The staff are friendly and informative. For a weekend day where I didn't want to drive the 4+ hours to other national parks, I'm glad I visited the Golden Spike.
I visited during their winter month schedule. This means their replica engines are in storage and go through periodic maintenance. But this also means a park ranger gives more detailed info and background on the engines (replicas and originals), including a demo of the bell, in this instance. There are only 3 of these opportunities each day during this part of the year, 10:30-11, 1-1:30 and 3-3:30, so time your visit accordingly.
I recommend a visit here, then on your way back to Layton/Ogden/Salt Lake City, visit the Big Fill Trail where they have markers with audio guide messages, and Northrop Grumman's rocket garden.

We took our two year old son and let him do the Junior Ranger program. A lot of fun! If interested just ask the ranger at the visitor center and they will help you out.
The ranger was awesome and the visitor center is small and nice. A lot of interesting history to learn out here.
Doing the trip in the winter really shortens the list of things to do here, but there is no crowd midday Friday! (Not sure there is too much of a crowd any day…)
Definitely worth the trip! Don’t forget to check out the engine house!

Must see site for train nerds! Totally worth the 30 mile drive from I-15. We spent three hours here and thankfully got to watch the reenactment with the two replica trains. Fun for every age. The rangers were informative, funny, and helpful. You can tell they enjoy they're jobs. One of the firemen is a local and said this is his dream job. Take a lunch for food, but there is a water fountain and real restrooms.

The trains were very well taken care of ,very cool to see them coming out of engine houses. The Rangers and staff are very knowledgeable, the train operators are patient and tell you anything you want to know about those engines. Only wish they had more stuff to look at. It is worth the trip out to see the history and all it took to make this country to what it is today.

This is an excellent museum with the original steam engines from the Pacific Railroad and the Central Railroad. This site is the actual location where the 2 railroads actually met and they connected the rails with a golden spike. That golden spike has since been removed and donated to Stanford University. However the original steam engines are there along with a wonderful museum that displays much history and many artifacts. There is also a nice gift shop. This place is a gem.

Great visit for those who are fans of Hell on Wheels. The Golden Spike isn't actually here.

A really Cool museum for fans of the railroad. This is where east and west net and a golden spike was driven into the ground to mark the occasion. Wonderful visitors center full of background on the workers and they have two amazing train replicas that spew black smoke and steam towards one another to meet! Really cool for the kids to see. For sure worth a visit on your way to Spiral Jetty.

First of all, it's a bit expensive for one person just to drop in - $20 per car. Great for a family! Not so much for me. But I lucked out and got to see a second beautifully restored locomotive join the first one nose-to-nose in a ranger presentation. They really are beautiful. Don't miss the movie in the theater, it's pretty moving. There is a small room of exhibits, but make sure to do the nearby walking trails and audio driving tours to get your money's worth.

Nice drive to a beautiful visitors center. The displays are excellent and informative. They run the two stream trains for a 45 min show, just don’t stand downwind of the coal fired “Rogers” engine for obvious reasons.

Off the beaten path, this historic site pays homage to one of the more important historical events in the development of modern US as the connection of Union Pacific and Central Pacific railways joined together. The working train replicas really are worth seeing and hearing. Hearing from the park rangers and conductors provides fascinating insights to the past and the events leading up to the railway’s development.
Although a few miles off the highway, this historic site is “one of a kind” and provides great insight into the efforts required to build these two railways and the motivations behind them. The impacted Indian nations are depicted and information is provided to better understand where the railroads crossed many native Tribal lands.

Had this stop on my list for a while. Enjoyed watching the 20 minute show and looking around at all the historical sights. We also got to learn more about the locomotives used during that era and seeing two of them in the shop. We got to drive the actual path the tracks were laid on.

Worth the drive! (Also check out the Spiral Jetty and ATK Rocket Park while you are out there)
Very cool to be there right at 10:00am and 10:30am when the two trains come into the station.
Our Ranger Diana was so knowledgeable and so helpful. She answered all of our questions and shared the great history of the railroad and the meeting of the railroads at Promontory Point.
The train engineers were also very friendly and even posed for a photo.
Our kiddos have been learning about Utah state history in school, and visiting the park helped bring the history to life!

There's not a lot there but it was fun to visit! The visitor's center is tiny, but we enjoyed the video presentation/historical information and gift shop. The site is dog friendly, which we appreciated, but only serve animals are allowed in the building.

What a fun experience for the history and train lovers out there! We spent a couple of hours here watching the trains come in, exploring the
Museum, and watching the costumed reenactment. We loved it!
The only issue we saw was that it was sometimes it was difficult to hear the actors during the reenactment, because of where the speakers were and the wind level that day.

Eh..... the kids had just learned about it in school so we stopped and paid the $20. It was fine. The spiral Jetty was fun for a bit but I won't be going back anytime soon.
The Spiral Jetty, a remarkable piece of art, was crafted by Robert Smithson in 1970. This unique installation is made up of earth and rock that stretches for 1500ft and spirals into the Great Salt Lake. Although it can be challenging to locate, visitors can obtain directions from Box Elder County Tourism.
This is a great place to visit. They have limited gas/was services in the area so e sure to fill up before entering the area. Sunset and sunrise have killer views! The water is quite a ways away from the jetty at this point but it is a fun walk to it.
The road is now a really nice gravel road. I included a picture of the roughest bit of road that I ran into on the way, which isn't much. It does have a few cattle guard grates along the way to go slow on but otherwise it's good to go. The road goes through an active cattle farm. I got to see some adorable tiny calves on my drive to and from the spiral.
The jetty isn't handicapped accessible but you can get to the parking lot that overlooks it. The parking lot is a great view from above.

This place is truly magical. There is a long stretch of dirt road that in some places is a little bumpy but overall it is absolutely worth it to get to the spiral jetty. Right now the water is very pink and so beautiful at sunset. If you plan on getting in the water I would definitely pack some water shoes because the ground is very hard due to all the salt. This is definitely an adventure you will want to plan at least a couple of hours to complete because once you get out there you definitely do not want to leave.
Kaydee Driggs — Google review
Horizon was pink from the salty lake, pink lake, foam traveling across the sand like tumble weeds. It was quite a drive to get there but very quiet and relaxing place to be. Bring your dogs!
Moxxi Foxxi — Google review
Even with as good as some of my photos turned out, they don't do the beauty of this location justice. You have to see it with your own eyes for it to be believed.
If you're looking for a place to do a photo shoot or to do some sort of professional photography, this is probably one of the most unique and attractive places I've had the pleasure of seeing.
On top of that, the sense of wonder which comes from standing on the salt flats and just taking in the scale and wonder behind how nature and geology crafted such a place is humbling.
You'll likely not have cell service here.
Johnny Dibert — Google review
Worth the drive out. This place is amazing. Read all about it on the Google before you go and get in a car and go. Impressive piece of art in the salt lake. Built in one year and still there to this day, my mind is blown on the scale of it all. There is a parking lot at the top and you walk down a small trail to get out to it. When I was there the lake was way out but I have read that sometimes it is covered. RV accessible but you gotta go real slow. Heavy gravel roads most of the way there.

Great spot to see something different and experience the great Salt Lake. Stop by the Golden spike while you're on your way. Road has been much improved in the last few years. Any car should make it if you drive normal.

What a wonderful journey out to the Spiral Jetty. I stopped for some great food and friendly service at Golden Spike Burgers before starting down the rocky road. Make sure to download the map offline so you can get back when your cell service disappears. The Spiral Jetty can be seen from space, and also boasts beautiful pink waters from the Great Salt Lake. There is a fun little walk up the hill once you arrive at the Jetty to get a better view. There is nothing out there, so make sure to bring extra water, fill up with gas and air, have a spare, and any other supplies you might need. You can walk out to the water’s edge for a photo shoot or to simply see what it’s like to stand in the Great Salt Lake. If it’s warm out, be prepared for bugs, and bringing an extra pair of shoes or flip flops will help you when you get muddy. There is no shade, and during the summer it gets quite hot, so please have plenty of water and supplies for your pets as well!! Enjoy! #spiraljetty #northern #utah

This is a beautiful place. The drive is amazing, the views gorgeous and the energy is intense. It would serve you to arrive before 11:00 am during the summer months. If you are going to dig for crystals takes a lot of wanter to clean up. You want to dig down by the piers left by the old doc. Have fun and please be respectful to the planet and clean up your own garbage. There is no bathroom so be prepared to walk behind some rocks and bring a bag and paper.
Joe Spencer — Google review
Spiral Jetty, land art from 1970 in a remote area of the Great Salt Lake, is accessible on a dirt road from Golden Spike. It is made from volcanic basalt rock. After we first moved to Utah in 2006 it was submerged in water but over the years, as the lake has dried up, it can be seen and more people are going to see it. Some years ago I was hesitant to go on the dirt road (and into the wilderness with no services or cell phone!) but supposedly they have smoothed it somewhat and finally wanted to go see it! The area of the salt lake is so eerie and strange and very quiet! The surface sand has a salt crust which makes a crunching noise when you walk on it. I scooped up some of the wet salt from the lake shore and it reminded me of kosher salt. Therefore I rename this area the Great Kosher Salt Lake!
The dirt road to this area from Golden Spike. See my photos. It looks like gravely rocks you can easily drive on than unfinished dirt road with lots of rocks. If you're in a truck with big wheels it's fine. The thing you can't see is that the way they made it, it has indents like a washboard. So if you're in a car or smaller SUV you will feel it, the vibrations. It's worse the slower you go so you have to go faster, at least 30mph. I went up to 45 depending, just watch the road and the conditions. Take a pit stop at Golden Spike on the way there and back. Get last gas at Corinne. See the UMFA website for info on SJ and their experiential guide!

This was well off the paved road and about an hour drive, the water was way out, but it was absolutely worth the drive. The north area of salt lake was pink in color and the salt foam was a great experience for our kids. The views were just great taking.
Genx Fem — Google review
Well, there isn't a whole lot to see. It is very cool, and the spiral jetty itself is very nice, but it's mostly just desert and some lake bed(the levels of the lake can affect how it looks and your experience). We walked out to the lake when we went, and let me tell you it is disgusting, if you want to take a dip in the Great Salt Lake do it in the southern half, not the northern half that's pink!
Carter Harrison — Google review
Way out at the end of a drive that gets worse as you go - the spiral jetty is really just an art project, and a place to park to visit the Great Salt Lake. If you want to see the water, you'll have to walk waaay out - it almost feels like a mile. And it's so alien! Pink water, lots of foam - I have no idea if that's healthy to be in or not, but I waded around a little.
Don't miss the informational plaque behind the parking lot (I did) for more information about the jetty itself. This is on the same road that the Golden Spike visitor center is on, so if you do one, you really should do both.
Sara Beth Wade — Google review
Pretty cool!! Really far out there but the water was amazing. It is very salty and the walk to get to the water can be very painful if barefoot.

It took 20 years to get here but oh what a beautiful landscape installation! Thank you DIA for preserving it for us to make pilgrimages to see the beautiful Great Salt Lake through an artistic intervention. The drive was relatively easy, aside from right at the end when I almost turned too early at an old pier but then realized that I needed to go one more minute to the end of the road. Please drive slowly if you see other vehicles because nobody wants to experience your dust. And enjoy the beauty!
Carol Tran Slawson — Google review
The road here is rough! But manageable! It’s just a bumpy ride for about 25 minutes. Definitely worth it for the view. And the pink lake.
This place was amazing. The springs, themselves, were magical. The facilities at this mineral hot springs could use a little updating. The changing rooms should be clearly defined, as they are close to each other by one wall, and if you are not a local, you can find yourself seeing some human anatomy, you were not prepared to see. The spring itself has several pools of varying temperatures. The largest water holding area is very hot, with the other pools declining in heat, yet hot. Trickles of cold mineral water will refresh you in one area. There is a comfortable cave area. The water is so mineral rich that your body can float effortlessly in any pool. You can pay for the experience daily or purchase a year pass.

$16 each to get in and spent 3.5 hours there. Worth it. They have multiple pools and got tubs with varying temperatures. Chairs available to lay out in to cool off. Drinks and snacks available for purchase. Didn't use the pool because it was closed until 4. Changing stalls, showers, and lockers are available.

So much fun! Each pool is a different temp ranging from cool to hot! Really a fun experience!! We really enjoyed being in a heated pool with the snowcapped mountains in the background! We went on a Friday in March around 12pm, not busy at all. The water slides didn’t open until 4p so we missed playing on those! Lots of parking! Highly recommend!
Kristin Maynes — Google review
The Crystal Hot springs are awesome! I’ve only been here twice, but I’ve enjoyed it so much both times! The slide pass is two dollars more, but it’s definitely worth it! The slides are long and a lot of fun! The variety of pools is fantastic- if you’re feeling too hot, there are a variety of pools that are cooler to allow you to cool down. My one complaint would be that there’s not a lot of shade available in the pool, but it’s hardly a complaint because the pools are so much fun that you don’t notice the lack of shade. The facilities are very nice, and they have individual changing rooms as well as family changing rooms. As a whole, I would definitely say that it is worth a visit!
Zack Smith (PresidentSparky) — Google review
The only reason why I gave this place 4 stars is everything needs updating. It all looks old and outdated, which did not help with the environment. The pools needing cleaning as well. The water was great, the slides were a fun touch (but still need updating), and the pools for sure need cleaning. Was it worth the $20 per person? For my first visit, yes. Would I come back in the next 10 years? Not at that price. If it was less expensive I would make the trek up there more often. Also, why is there no umbrella’s for people? Most water places have umbrella’s included. This place did not, which caused me to not stay as long for fear of getting sunburned. That could be an immediate fix that many people would appreciate.

What a fun little place. Tons of different pools with different temperatures, lots of places to lay out, and plenty of storage. I do wish I brought some bottled waters with me to the pool. They have some for purchase at the front desk but hard to get to if you are already in the water. My two young daughters had a great time.

My favorite! The Crystal Hot Springs are one of my favorites, they not only have many different pools that accompany many different ages and water temperatures but also have 2 water slides and a cave. I would recommend no reservations, bringing snacks and water. There are changing rooms, bathrooms and showers inside. Outside there are shelves to put items. Kids are allowed, no life jackets available. We were able to catch a beautiful sunset, water in some places run very hot at 100+

Great place to soak and relax, especially around sunset.
We walked in, paid the fee, changed and quickly walked to a pool. The 1st pool wasn't to hot, it was deeper than the one with the water fall... waterfall pool was warmer by just as relaxing.
There are slides that you can go on, for an additional fee, looks fun but we were there for the springs.
They have bathrooms and changing stalls. If I'd have known how hard it is to put your clothes back on.... I'm bringing a robe and slippah next time 😁

What a fun place. They tout the highest mineral content of any hot springs. They have various different temperatures in each pool. They even have a cold pool. If you go on the waterslides, the one on the left is much better.

I have been coming here for over 30 years. We love it here. It has a pool for everyone.
The main pool is way relaxing. It has three waterfalls. They change the temperature to keep it warm all year long.
They have three smaller pools that are usually for people who love it hot. They are perfect for a snowy, rainy day.
They have a cold pool that my kids won't leave. The temperature is still manageable even in winter.
They have a shallow mineral pool for kids and an Olympic pool. It's epic.

Fun place! The water slides made the experience. They were so long and surprisingly fast, and we hardly ever waited longer than 2 minutes even though it seemed very busy during spring break! Some specific areas of pools (with fountains or waterfalls) are extremely hot, while others are just really comfortable.
Brittany Howell — Google review
I didn't take pictures of the pools since they are available on the website. There was no line, and there was plenty of space on the weekend. That being said, just like any hot spring, there are weekends busier than others. There are two small hot pools and several warm pools. I recommend the waterfall to massage the shoulders and back. This is a hot spring with high mineral content, so be prepared for the minerals. They can burn the eye. The restroom facilities and changing room are a bit worn down. The price is $18 with no slide pass. The pool water is clean and is cleaned out and emptied every day. Overall, a great spot to visit.
Esli Morales — Google review
It was fun! Went there without the kids to see how it has changed since I was there 7 years ago. There are a lot of pools with various temps. It is a well managed facility. It's a nice place to chill. Slides can get kind of crazy and weren't our favorite. They have plowed over the campground and will be adding more pools. We went just after it opened at 12:30 and there were hardly any people there. Around 3pm more people started showing up and we left. It was a fun time and we will be back with the kids.
Update: We came back with the kids and it wasn't as fun. The Olympic pool was closed because there were no lifeguards available because of school YET there were no lifeguards out there at all and people were in the other pools. Have the front counter people take turns watching the pools and put up a sign "When Lifeguards are not on duty, swim at your own risk." Paying over 50 bucks and we missed out on the largest pool and the best one for kids. Doesn't make sense. There were also a lot of nasty bugs floating in the pool. Come hungry and leave full after consuming them. Disappointed 😔

Great place to soak! Mineral contents are high. There are several different pools and temperatures to enjoy. It's a great family environment. They have a couple of waterslides that the kids really enjoy. The entrance fee is very fair also.

We stopped on our way and spent almost two hours in the pools and under waterfalls. The facility is generously large, very functional, but no luxury. Rocks and concrete and genuine deep springs water. The chage roooms, the showers, the locker system - everything is very efficient and comfortably, but no typical spa fluff. We liked it a lot and recommend it strongly.

We went on a Friday about an hour after they opened. It wasn't crowded at all (about 30 people). We had minimal contact with the employees, but when we did interact with them they were pleasant. The changing rooms and showers are fairly standard so not much to say about that. I do wish there was maybe some music or something in the pool area, we ended up accidentally listening to everyone else's conversations when we were not speaking to the people in our group

Crystal Hot Springs, Honeyville, Utah, has year round, outdoor mineral hot springs in 4 different large pools. All pools range in temperature. There are also 3 hot tubs and water slides.
Pricing is $18 per person, regardless of age and $2.00 more for the water slides. This seems very steep for the rundown Springs.
There are generally a lot of kids during the day, but this evening there were many High
Crystal Hot Springs has seen better days. Some of the pools need maintenance such as patching and/or repainting. The locker rooms need attention asap! The shower curtains have pinkish grimy mildew on them and need replaced. The dressing room curtains are not wide enough to cover side to side. You always have at least one side open a couple of inches and they offer little privacy.
They do sell snacks, drinks, toiletries and T-shirts. However, they are pricey. (They have a separate camping area next door.)
The pools do help with achy muscles and the minerals have healing properties.
I have been going to the Springs for years, and I will probably go back for the mineral benefits but my expectations are considerably lower than they once were.
This bird refuge & marsh area offers a 12-mile auto tour, fishing, hunting & wildlife viewing.
We have been here before and did the drive through the refuge; so wish we had had the time on this trip because it was the height of bird migration and we would have seen a lot of different birds. The staff was very informative. Hope to come again this time of year to do the drive. The indoor display of birds and sounds is very well done and educational. There was construction going on in the back of the building, with new landscaping, benches, and native plants that looks like will be used for educational purposes. It will be interesting to see it the next time we are in the area.

The visitors center is very nice. There are a few different y walks from there, but we didn’t see any thing until we drove to the actual refuge.
We missed the swans but saw so much. I want to go back a different time of year and see what else we can find.

Great place to see Bald Eagles and Herons. The trip from Salt Lake City is a little long, but with coffee and good company you are there it seems in no time.
If you go during the winter months, beware! The road around the refuge us a mix of CLAY, GRAVEL, DIRT AND SAND. Your car/SUV will get extremely dirty. Do not wait days to wash it. It won't cone of once it's solid. Use a high powered sprayer to get into every nook and cranny of your cars underside, especially the wheelhousing. I waited a week and it took 2 hours and 30 dollars to get my Tahoe looking new again.

Awesome place. The visitors center was open and we enjoyed all the displays and information. The kids had a great time doing the Jr Ranger Activity Book along the trail. That kept them busy for at least an hour. Nice paved trail with benches along the way. There was no shade so I would recommend a hat and glasses. We didn’t have time to drive around the rest of the refuge.

Sometimes we cannot appreciate the simple things in nature. If you really want to be in touch with nature and experience some of the wild, you don't need to go to the jungle. In this place, you will enjoy spectacular sunsets, the singing of birds, the sudden fright of many that take flight, the bites of wild sandpipers, days full of fog in winter, the nostalgia of a lake that threatens to disappear. and a river that gives life to the mangroves that provide food and life to thousands of birds and aquatic species. I recommend it 200%. A paradicical wildlife place that we have included in our photographic project, from Ana's CameraWork.

We went on Annual Swan Day a few weekends ago. Sadly, still too cold here to see the swans. (They say they were easily seen down at Farmington Bay.)
Plenty of activities for the kids, a nice gift/book shop, even featuring local photographers work.
They have a nice exhibit hall to help you learn more about the area.
Kids earned the FREE Junior Ranger pin. They provide you with a booklet, pencil and light green backpack full of gear to adventure with as you complete activities in the booklet.
Recent snowmelt made it hard to do much of the paved trail as some family members didn't have proper shoes.
I'd love to come back in May when things have warmed and greened up a bit more.

My wife and I travel there often. It never disappoints. Today, for instance, we made the 1.5 hour drive to see some reported bald eagles. We made the loop, stopping frequently and driving an average speed of 7 mph. We didn't see any bald eagles. We did see harrier after harrier, many of which were gray ghosts. So much beauty in every direction.

Update February 2023: Interesting and educational James V. Hansen Wildlife Education Center. Unfortunately, we didn't see any bald eagles while driving the loop although others have spotted a few.
Previous year: Binoculars are essential. On the way to the loop you may see a bald eagle on a post so look around as you drive there. We saw two single ones, two groups of two, one group of five that would have made a great photo, many farther away.

Me and my family LOVE the Bird Refuge! All year round there are different things to see! There are times where you don't get to see much wildlife. But the scenery is beautiful to drive through still to some! Bring a camera if you are interested in photography of birds at all! Probably a lense that zooms pretty far too if your extremely serious about taking pictures! Not exactly completely kid friendly as it is basically a drive through and observe the animals you may see! Dirt roads so in the wetter/colder seasons its a bumpy holey journey! I think it's great still though! :)
Beautiful setting with echoes of past generations who sacrificed to build a tranquil and inspiring legacy.

A beautiful piece of history and a lovely place to attend a meeting or one of the many interfaith concerts that's held here every year. They also offer free family history classes a number of times a week.

If you live in Logan-- the tabernacle if often a great place to take part in different cultural, artistic, or musical events. You have to be on top of the scheduling though and find out when the Summer Fest will be held or when the summer musical series will take place. The grounds also can also serve as a great place to take an evening stroll.
If you're just stopping through-- they offer free tours of the building itself that give a pretty good summary of the history. I didn't personally find the tour very exciting, but I can't say that I really love history all that much. If you're LDS -- this historic building is also used as a place of worship many weekends.

Well maintained and clean historic building. The seating can get cramped quickly though if the crowd is large. Arrive early for good seats. Offers more than just worship services, hoisting several community events and artistic performances throughout the year. Their Christmas series is especially neat.

Saw Gentri here in this beautiful, old building! It was a very moving and spiritual experience! Such a great building to have for performances! The seats are close together and they're hard, not to mention the pillers everywhere that get in the way, but there's something about it that makes it wonderful just the same! I love having the old buildings! And I'm so glad this one is here and being used!

This was a fun place to go for a little family outing. As we were visiting from out of town, our friends invited us to come along. It was a good way to kill around an hour.
🗺️ LOCATION - 5
Zootah is found tucked in the back streets of Logan there on 700 South. I'm sure with the use of a GPS or Google Maps you should be able to find it rather easily.
💲 PRICE - N/A
Our friends insisted on paying, so I'm not sure the price, but I would assume it isn't outlandish.
🐦 PRODUCTS/SERVICES - 4
Well in this case, the products would be the animals. It was fun to feed the ducks 🦆, which bombarded us as we entered. They only had one thing on their mind: food. While Zootah is a zoo, I'd guess about 80% of the attraction are primarily of the foul nature, so if you're looking for any other exotic animals outside of birds 🦢, you'll be severely disappointed. All the same it was fun enough.
📢 POINTERS/PERKS - N/A
You can purchase some bird food as you enter to feed the birds 🦅. The white bird 🦜, towards the gift shop will bop its head up and down if you do it, it is good at mimicry.
👩 EMPLOYEES - N/A
Didn't really see any employees nor interact with any so there's that...

Honestly, this is one of Logan's best kept secrets... But it shouldn't be a secret! It might not have all the exotic animals you expect, but for the price of the tickets you can't complain! Under 10$ is a bargain. And that's not to mention you can pay meager little fees to get close and personal with some of the animals during their feeding time and it's an incredible experience. Fed the Lemurs this last weekend with my wife! But if that's not your speed you can get a cheap bag of duck food and those little critters will eat right out of your hand. Very cute!
As two adults, my wife and I can see all the animals, feed the ducks, and do an extra animal experience in about an hour and a half. You might get more time with some little ones or if it's your first time through. Either way, I can't help but recommend it! The staff are pleasant, the grounds are clean, and it's just a nice little thing you can do in the short space of an afternoon. Please go! And feed an animal up close too!

Whenever I go through Logan, I love stopping here. It’s a lovely small zoo so there aren’t big crowds, and the ducks there are very friendly! It’s always so relaxing to go and feed them. Also, the white parrot in the video will dance if you play it music. Super fun!

As I understand, the cost increased this year from $5 to $6. You will get to see a variety of animals, however mostly birds of many varieties. For another $1 you can get a bag of food to feed the numerous free-roaming ducks and geese. It's a great way to spend about hour, or more if you'd like. We were able to pet a couple small animals and hang out with goats and a sheep. (Maybe check the schedule for the times for this.) I'm from out of state but my daughter comes here several times a year. This was my second visit.

Love the low cost of tickets. Seems like they need some updates enclosures and more variety of animals, but the area is beautiful. Always a good place to go for a relaxing day with the family or date or group. Staff was very helpful at getting my elderly parents wheelchairs so we could navigate them easily through.
Cam N530 — Google review
Such a cute little zoo. Since it was so cold having a short and interesting walk though the Christmas lights while seeing the animals was definitely enjoyable. To my great surprise the staff encouraged guests to feed the goats, sheep and reindeer. Even for an adult a great fun thing to do.

This little zoo is perfect for what it is. It’s a nice place to take a walk feed the ducks, and just enjoy the outdoors. Also the black swan swam right up to us and it was the most majestic experience I’ve had with such a beautiful animal.

Large, open paths and sitting areas. Lots of birds and turtles to see and a few other types of animals. Decent prices for a short visit. It was fun for young children while visiting the Logan area.

What a great neighborhood zoo!! It’s small, but mighty in character! Make sure you buy the duck food, if you go!! This is such a Logan treasure!

It's always so fun going to Zootah! My kids and I both love it. We go here multiple times a year. We went when the Family Place was there- it was a free zoo day to spread awareness for mental health!

Had a family drive to Logan and discovered the zoo. Great smaller place to have family fun day without having to plan a whole day. Staff were super awesome. The animals were all out. Got to feed the ducks. Petting zoo was fun. We had a blast.

Awesome small local zoo. We haven't been here for a couple years. It is fun to see the updates. We enjoyed going in the morning seemed like all the animals we active and excited. It is nice to have thw additional activity options.

Cute little zoo! Worth the stop.
I hadn’t been here for 15+ years and it had certainly improved!
We came in a very cold and snowy April. Tickets were less than posted online - which I appreciated since the reptiles, birds, and monkeys were inside for the season.
There was still enough to see and it was fun to feed the ducks.
The baby goats were out to be socialized and the staff member with them was happy to answer questions.
Cute little gift shop with exceptionally friendly staff.

Perfect little zoo! My boys loved feeding the ducks running around the whole park. We enjoyed seeing all the animals out and about checking us out while we checked them out. I would recommend if you have kids and about an hour to spare in your travels, this is place not to miss.

Great little zoo. They have lots of events throughout the year. We love sll the neat animals and the great knowledgeable staff!
Set at the mouth of a canyon, this scenic 1888 research university is near trails & climbing routes.
Aggies! A beautiful campus tucked up in the mountains. There are trees everywhere and open fields to play sports or lounge around on a nice warm day. There are a lot of events going on campus wide to keep you busy. What is really great is how the entire community rallies around the university. It is a very unique dynamic and very very fun!

I would strongly recommend against going here. Utah is a place full of bigots, conservatives , and Mormons. If you don’t fit that mold, you will be excluded. and receive hate and judgment.

Displeased USU Visitor
My recent experience with USU (assuming you are referring to a university or institution with that acronym) left me feeling incredibly frustrated and dissatisfied. One of the most significant issues that marred my experience was the rampant over-ticketing problem.
Over-ticketing at USU has become a serious concern, and it has undoubtedly soured my perception of the institution. It seems as though the primary focus has shifted away from providing a conducive learning environment and towards extracting revenue from its students and visitors through excessive ticketing.
The frequency with which I witnessed students and visitors receiving unwarranted tickets was alarming. Whether it was for minor parking infractions, perceived rule violations, or even issues that should have been handled through communication and warnings, it appeared that the institution was more interested in punishing individuals than in fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
Furthermore, the fines associated with these tickets often felt disproportionately high, placing an undue financial burden on students and visitors who are already struggling with the cost of education and daily living expenses. It's disheartening to see an institution prioritize revenue generation over the well-being and financial stability of its constituents.
The over-ticketing issue not only creates a hostile atmosphere but also undermines the trust and respect that students and visitors should have for their educational institution. It fosters an environment where individuals are constantly on edge, fearing that even the slightest misstep will result in another unwarranted ticket.
In conclusion, my experience with USU has been marred by the issue of over-ticketing, which has led me to question the institution's priorities and commitment to the well-being of its students and visitors. It is my hope that USU will reevaluate its approach to disciplinary measures and consider more reasonable and fair ways to address rule violations without resorting to excessive ticketing.

I'm just about to graduate with a Master's Degree and have loved my entire experience here. Awesome new buildings, cool old buildings, great professors, and great students who make for great campus life. And you can't leave out the superb outdoor recreation available all around. The PE classes are a blast! To anybody coming to USU I highly suggest taking up rock climbing, mountain biking, trail running, and skiing/snowboarding. There's even a new ski resort opening up that is only 19 minutes away. They just opened up the ARC (Aggie Recreation Center) and my wife and I love the rock climbing and everything else that is available in there. Complete party, great place to learn to become a learner, fun professors, useful clubs and student organizations, all around great place to get your degree or degrees.

Completely upset by the cost of online and zoomed in classes. Why do students live on campus, go to class in a classroom on campus where the teacher is zoomed in. The lack of support for the students to learn in a classroom setting is disappointing. Do you really want future doctors to be online students?
Missy Collard — Google review
Going to school here is great! There is tons to do really close to campus. The town is small, but very diverse classes are not too big when getting into your major. Online program is wonderful!

It’s always such a treat taking a stroll through this gorgeous campus! They even have a large American persimmon tree; it’s located on the west side by the visitor information center!
Starting spot for a popular 1.8-mi. hike up to a dramatic viewpoint with arched rock formations.
Easy smooth trail to follow. The only challenge was the elevation gain. Otherwise it was nice and easy. Unfortunately we went on a weekend so it was a bit crowded…as expected. Not terrible but I’m certain it would be really nice on a weekday. Worth the short hike. Interest view and caves for your effort. Recommend.
Jack Rondini — Google review
Super awesome hike, about 2 miles each direction and is pretty steep on the way up. Beautiful views along the entire hike and especially at the end when you reach the cave. We went at about 9 am and got done around 10:45 because we spent a lot of time up top. Beautiful view and beautiful weather today, make sure you bring some water!
Owen Heap — Google review
This hike is very nice, the trail was challenging at some points, and cave at the top have a great view of the valley. Got there around 7:30 am and there was plenty of parking. However, on the way down, we encountered a fairly steady stream of folks around 9am and parking was filling up. Enjoy!

Excellent hike in the east mountains not fair from Logan. The hike is decent and contains excellent views throughout the journey with the caves at the end worth the hike
Luke Freeman — Google review
This hike is awesome. I have gone during multiple seasons and every time it has been good. It is very peaceful and not busy at all. It's right off the highway and easy to pull into.
Paxton Ward — Google review
A pretty steep hike in certain parts but shouldn’t take more than 2 hours roundtrip. The elevation gain can be a lot, so make sure to take stops to breathe and bring water! Way easy on the way back. Beautiful caves!
Emma Curtis — Google review
I'm new to hiking and I would recommend this trail for beginner I think. I did fell down coming down (embarass). Other than that advise trail can be muddy/slushy due to snow and rain. But hey FTW I did enjoy it.
Dong Ly — Google review
Gorgeous hike and the destination is worth the elevation gain. If traveling with young kids the plan for lots of breaks and try to go in the morning before the hot afternoon sun. Bring a lot of water and keep an eye out for snakes. We saw a fairly large one on the trail
Bruce Williams — Google review
Wonderful, wonderful hike!!!
Not easy, but totally do-able for anyone! Inclines and switch backs, but with time & water you'll do just fine. Super cool views up top. The cave goes under the look out, and around the side. Worth all the exploring! AllTrails has wonderful tracking if needed, but trail is worn in wonderfully.
C Price — Google review
Beautiful hike up to the wind caves. It was fairly moderate terrain as it was quite a steep climb most of the way. Little to know shade during the day time, but the views are definitely worth the trek!
Elizabeth Diane — Google review
Great hike! Wow! I took my nephews who ranged in age from 9 to 16 and they did great. Bring plenty of water (summer time) and snacks to keep the younger ones energized. The first 1/4 was easy, the middle half was a little steep at points with switchbacks all the way up but the last 1/4 was easy. Amazing views of the canyon, very very pretty! I loved this hike and will be doing it again on our next visit. Be careful with kids at the cave though. There's a drop off on the east side that I would caution parents on.
Dan Larsen — Google review
Great family hike! Moderate exertion. About 4 miles round trip. Note use restrooms somewhere in Logan before the hike as there are no facilities near parking or anywhere along the trail. Bring plenty of water.
Daniel Gladstone — Google review
This was my 4th time up, June 17th. Temps in the high 70s perfect weather light wind. Takes about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours based on your hiking skills. I am 56 and it took about 1 hour but we went slow with our dog. One of the most magical spot around for sure. Trail is rough so really should have good hiking footwear.
Steve Oberaigner — Google review
Beautiful caves! The hike was more on the difficult side with lots of people on the trail. Could be a little dangerous for kids, just use caution. There were lots of drop off points, especially at the cave.

Nature & Parks
Reserve with huge freshwater reservoir that offers boating, camping & animal-watching opportunities.
Great Lake for a boating day. The sand is more gravel but when you wear shoes it's not that big of a deal. For us the water level was high and you walked past 3 ft of large but soft pebbles and then you hit sand. Both were anchored close to the shore and there was plenty of beach area for large families together. There are a few large trees along the shoreline that provide natural shade.
The bathrooms were what you might expect at a gas station. A couple stalls with flushing toilets and soap with running water sinks, but they weren't that clean.
Weekends are $30 per car, during the week. It's only $15 per car.
Dogs can be there and quite a few were, they're supposed to be leashed but not everyone follows that rule.

We always love the bay. It's so much fun to swim in the summer and the sunsets are 10/10 year round. We ended up taking our engagement photos here. Absolutely love the mix of ice and sunset we had out there today.
Whether you are looking to go swimming, boating, or finishing there is a time of year and place for you down on Willard Bay

I visited very spontaneously around Christmas time, seeing the lights from the freeway. It was so fun! The light displays are super cute and it was fun to listen to the radio station that was part of the experience. It's $20/car, so a little pricy for just me and my 2mo old, but super cheap for a carload of people. 😊 You should definitely visit!

This place definitely have beautiful scenery. The mosquitoes are terrible at the non hookup sites close to the water. The sound of a swarm of mosquito sound like a helicopter. Lol . I give a 10 to the mosquito spray I use, because after I sprayed myself even in a swarm of mosquitoes, I didn't get attacked anymore. The park is very well maintained and there is boating activities that you can partake in. My biggest setback was the mosquitoes but still had a good time .
MArk Thompson — Google review
Stayed the weekend at the RV park. Off season so no recreation boaters, just quiet fisherman. No mosquitoes. Some gnatty things by the water but they didn't bug me. Tent campground under construction. Looks like they are building another RV park. Cute area called The Pond that looks new and is super clean. Note, this is right next to the interstate so you hear lots of that all night. There is also apparently an active train track nearby.

Nice place. Pretty views of the lake. More pavement than I like in a park, but someone must have found it necessary.bet it used to be a great place to wander in the woods.

I am so happy we decided to take a ride through the park to see the Christmas lights display. They did an excellent job with the decorations and I was surprised at the length of time it took to drive through to see everything. We did not have to wait long at all to get through the entrance. Well worth the time to go see!

Very nice campground with power, water and bathrooms available. It’s reasonably priced at $15 per night or $5 per night for a primitive site. The lake is a little chilly but not too bad. There are two docks and a boat launch.
Lots of birds to watch.

Big fan of Willard Bay!! It was my first time, but hopefully not my last.
We camped at the south entrance. The campsites were in good condition, you have to pay to reserve the spots. I didn’t like how close together the campsites felt. The bugs were also super terrible around 730-930 pm.
The bathrooms were okay. There was one bathroom where the doors were left open and the bugs were disgusting. But another bathroom a little further away was much cleaner.
We went on a morning run around the lake which was beautiful, they have a nice trail that goes around it.
We packed up and went to the north bay to paddleboard and kayak. It was very crowded. But luckily on the lake it wasn’t too bad. Water was good temperature and all around it was a great experience.
Hailey Burt — Google review
Love going here. Beautiful to pull over and make dinner or go fishing. The only downside is a lot of bugs so make sure to bring your spray!
Raving Roz — Google review
The two stars is mostly because this campground has so much potential or I would have given even less based on what we experienced here and maybe we were here at a bad time for them. At the time we were here the property was very unkept, grass areas not mowed, trails and parking lots not maintained. Some things in disrepair. However the RV sites are nicely laid out, lots of room between sites, services in good condition. The picnic tables could use a pressure wash but the roofs over them are very nice. Oh and the “you can’t check in till 3pm” or even wait on property till 3 is very unfriendly and unwelcoming, considering it’s quite a large park with lots of room and places to wait (and not busy at the time). We arrived just an hour early (2pm) and were asked to leave and come back later. These are only a few pictures. I hope they get this place up to its full potential because it would be worthy of 5 stars easy!

We went for the Christmas light show. Well worth it. Much longer than expected and you can tell a lot of people put a lot of time, work, and creativity into making it a great experience.

Site 230 is very secluded and an easy back in for our 35' 5th Wheel. All the sites were spaced well and close to the trails, launch and beach. Seemed like the landscaping needed some attention, but overall, great camping.
Small venue, great entertainment, loved the trucks and dirtbikes!!

Nice big arena. We drove over an hour to attend the Jordan Circus here because it was one of the arenas where the elephants would be on display. It was worth the drive. And we even got to ride an elephant at intermission! There is a lot of parking here (and overflow parking). We had purchased tickets in advance, so the entry process was quick and smooth by showing the bar code on the phone. Seating was not assigned for this event.

Lindsey Peterson — Google review
The event center covers a lot of area and many events. In some cases such as the county fair, it may cover the carnival area, 4-H had a building setup with submissions, a stage was setup for other aspects, rodeo was going for some things, and their was an Auto-Derby Saturday night. Not to mention the mass parking issues and a group of people who were using the baseball fields when we arrived.
Surprisingly everything went smoothly, but parking access was slow. It took about 45 minutes to get parked. Also a word of caution, to get parking enter from the west side. If you come in from the east hoping to make a left, you will be surely disappointed. (I had never been there before and learned this the hard way.)
Still, even thought it was a slow process it was easy to navigate. The dividers and crowd control setups were easy to understand and work through. There were plenty of staff for the different events on-going but I did find that some things from one event could not be brought into other events. I know this will vary with different hosts activities so check their webpage.
All in all, it was a good visit. Great for families or individuals. Well managed. Again, review your event info ahead of time to stay on top of things.

Our family went and saw the Jordan World Circus at the event center a week ago. It was a lot of fun! The event center is laid out well. Bathrooms were easily accessible and clean. The event staff were all helpful and answered our questions. The audio was fine. We didn’t have any problems hearing the circus ringmaster.
As for the circus- it was so much fun!

Ogden Nature Center is a vast 152-acre nature reserve that features numerous walking trails and ponds, alongside an educational center. The flat trails are ideal for children, allowing them to explore the beautiful surroundings freely. Apart from the animals they care for, visitors can encounter eagles and deer while enjoying a picnic on one of many benches or tables available outdoors.
Lovely place. They nurse and look after injured animals that can no longer make it the wild. You can also walk around the area and see birds and deer. There's an observatory and a treehouse as well.

Gorgeous place, perfect for a walk with the family, friends or solo. It's surrounded by short, easy trails and their gift shop has so many fun gifts for loved ones (especially if they love birds)! I do recommend taking not only sunscreen and a big water bottle but also a bug spray.

Great place to for hidden groves, ponds, and shady trails. I especially enjoyed the birdhouse trail. Actually, I was blown away by the sheer number of clever and beautiful bird houses. There are several kinds to explore and if you are lucky you might see a turtle, or three. The Bird of Prey area was also very enjoyable. Such gorgeous owls, hawks and eagles to see. There is a great playground for the children, with pails in the sand and a water pump to add to the fun. There is even a children's library near the playground with some interesting books to read. There are shady chairs to rest on and fantastic sculptures for the kids to climb on. About a mile and a half of trails to wander and even a hidden "mouse hole" to find. Spend a pleasant day enjoying nature and support the wonderful educational programs in this unique getaway.

This morning we enjoyed a pleasant autumn walk among mostly golden-leafed trees. Birdhouses line the walk up to the visitor center and gift shop. A short walk from there to the children's play area. While there is the trail to walk and things to see, check out their website for events and activities.

Nice slice of nature on the edge of the city. Trails are a bit slippery/muddy with the rain but we'll marked and quiet to walk around. Frog song is loud out by the ponds!

the visitor center was beautiful with exhibits of reptiles and a nice gift shop. They also have birds of prey which were so fun to watch. The only drawback is the map they provided was confusing and my husband was unable to read it. We got a little lost and the trails could definitely use some maintenance but overall it's a nice place. I would return for the seasonal events but not for the trails.

Antelope Island State Park is the largest island in the Great Salt Lake and boasts of white-sand beaches, migratory birds, and a herd of American bison. Visitors can take a peaceful walk through its wilderness to spot free-roaming bison, mule deer, antelope, bighorn sheep, and a variety of migratory birds feasting on brine shrimp along the shore. The park hosts annual wildlife spectacles like the November buffalo roundup for veterinary examinations.
Wow! The views are stunning! Wildlife too -antelopes and bison and abundant bird life! It’s spectacular to see the lake and also the mountains. The beach is vast and can be walked also loads of hiking trails and even a restaurant. Camping in tents and RV’s is also available. Would be a great place for riding bikes. First Time Visiting Antelope Island, Was told at Entrance it was Bug Season, She Sure was not Kidding by the time I hit the first stop, my car was Splattered, and you could hear the bugs. However once I drove farther into the Island the Bugs were not as bad. Still had a great visit, did not see any Antelopes, but saw lots of Bison. Was a very interesting stop on the way home

Beautiful park! Take your time to drive through the island in search for bisons and antelopes. The views are stunning! Dogs are not allowed on the beach. Make sure to check if it’s mosquito season and bring some repellent. There are several trails, with some easy options. Bring plenty of water with you as it can get very hot during the day. The entrance is $20 for the car.

Absolutely amazing place to explore when visiting SLC or Park City. Not far from either place and a really beautiful destination. A mindful reminder of how amazing nature is. The visitors center has great information. The free roaming bison are so cool! And the landscape will not disappoint. A great place to see the salt lake and learn a bit more of what natural beauties UT has to offer. $15 entry fee per car. Lots to explore around we only had a few hours but could have probably been there for an entire day plus!

Went here for sunrise and absolutely fell in love with it. We were lucky to catch the wild bison crossing the road in front of us. Our trip was in late September and the bugs were absolutely atrocious down near the ranch where we watched the sunrise and saw the bison. The bugs weren’t as bad down by the ranch though! wear layers so they won’t bite you and enjoy.

We didn't see any antelope, but the bison put on a show. We saw one bison at first, then a small group, but eventually drove into several herds of them. Some just casually crossing the road in front and behind our vehicle. We also got several good views of the lake, what's left of it. I was kind of sad to see how much the Great Salt Lake shrunk. The YouTube video did mention the odor and number of flies on the island. The odor wasn’t that bad, but the flies (aka no-see-ums/midges) were an issue. Returning to the city after sunset was a problem. There were so many of them on the causeway that our car and windshield were covered with them. Luckily there was a gas station after you exit the causeway where we could clean our windshield. I still recommend going there to see the bison and lake. The sunset views were from Buffalo Point were amazing.

Absolutely beautiful views! Sure to have a bison sighting. We went twice and saw hundreds each time.

I visited this place in August month. Entrance fee is 15$ for each car. There are few trails and a beach inside. Dogs are not permitted to beach. There is a visitor center inside. It has some information about the wildlife around salt lake. People who are interested in wildlife photography, this is a must place to try it out. Various number of species fly/migrate here. Watch out for those bisons on road they are almost everywhere in the park.

Really great place to visit, just a short distance from the bustle of salt lake city is a wildlife and nature reserve on the shore of the shimmering great salt lake. Lots of buffalo, not that many antelope!

Beautiful views of the mountain and beach area. Got to see the Buffalo but not any Antelope. I don't think we went high enough into the mountains. Checked out the ranch but there was no guide to explain any of the things we were seeing. The mosquitoes were off the chain! Had to use the outhouse style bathroom and although it was clean, mosquitoes tore my buttocks up. Lol. Hiking trail near bathroom wasn't difficult but that walk to the beachfront was something else. Sand gnats everywhere. They didn't bite though. Bar & Grill on beach was closed the day we went. Took us a little over an hour to get there from Salt Lake City. There is a fee per car but only $15. You drive most trails but they did have a few walking. You can also camp there in RVs or tents.

Highly highly recommend visiting!! This was some of the most beautiful and diverse terrain all in one location. We travelled with our 3 dogs so didn’t do a lot of the hiking trails but still were able to see plenty of buffalo and sights! So much fun. Only disappointed that there are seasonal road closures 🤷🏼♀️

Someone suggested I visit this place when I had time. Had 4 hrs to burn so made it out here and OMG this place is so peaceful and beautiful!
Only drove through and walked around Visiter Center and the Ranch but there is sooooo much more to do here! There’s a bunch of hiking/biking trails, camping grounds, horseback riding, and I’m sure a bunch more but 4hrs wasn’t enough!
Don’t think I’d go hiking since there’s a possibility you’ll cross a Bisons path. I will definitely come back to horseback ride when I have at least a whole day to spend!
$15 to drive your car in.

Antelope Island is great in the fall, winter, and spring! Summer has a lot of bugs, but the trails are fun to ride and you'll sometimes see bison, deer, and big horn sheep.

Cool Utah state park with a cafe that serves bison burgers. Also plenty of camping, hiking, & biking options. Horseback riding is also available but refer to website for complete details. Don’t pet the bison!

It’s a great day trip with great views. The visitors center has lots of great information on the wildlife, plants, and good walks/hikes to go on. Be prepared for lots of bugs and insects.
