Nice walk up to view the painted pots. A couple of spots quite muddy so you had to balance your way across boards ( make shift walkways) but manageable

40 min out-and-back hike (some ground was muddy when we went). Make sure to bring appropriate shoes!
First part was easy, beautiful view of the river from the bridge. Second part was slightly harder up to the paint pots themselves. Interesting colors but not much to see.
Jamie ?Serena? Wei — Google review
Visited paint pots and found that new trail was installed so no need to walk on mud anymore. Took us around 15 mins one way to see the colors. Worth the visit!
Daniel Hsu — Google review
Was more like orange mud. Was a beautiful view of the water with a pretty bridge though. Couldn’t go too far cause the path is too much water covered. They tried to put wood logs to walk over it but eventually got too hard and the person before us said it was not worth going farther 😅
Jen Webb — Google review
We didn't spend very long as our granddaughter wasn't feeling well, but it is a nice little walk and baolutely beautiful.
Richard Bone (The Trooper) — Google review
An in places muddy short walk brings you to specially coloured small pools. it's only 2 km long, and has only a small elevation gain. Green, brown, blue, you get the whole color scheme.
Jo Dejonckheere — Google review
The orange ground was cool, but sadly I couldn’t see the paint pots because the trail was pretty much a swamp. It was just a couple rickety logs you are supposed to walk on, and your shoes are done if you decide to continue (They will be stained orange). I feel like Parks Canada could learn a thing or two from the American parks system about infrastructure and trail maintenance/building. What they should have done was build a boardwalk. Maybe it would be okay if you brought rubber boots.
Ryan Robertson — Google review
An interesting walk. Impressive coloured landscape.
First part of the trail is easy , the second a little balancing challenge over logs and broken boardwalk to avoid getting shoes and feet dyed red. Probably easier later in the year when the ground is dryer.
Steven Vickers — Google review
Such an amazing hike. The terrain is very different. The colours are something to see. It can be wet on the trail so boots are a good idea. The make-shift board walk requires some good balance. Worth the extra effort to see the Paint Pots.
Jordan Janisse — Google review
This is a nice hike from the parking lot up the trail is about 5km. Lots of side trail hikes as well. A great place to stop and stretch the legs!
Reg Belyea — Google review
Beautiful easy hike. Very muddy so wear water proof shoes or boots. Cool place to visit. My dogs enjoyed playing in the mud. I hiked here from Marble Canyon which was 3km hike one way and fairly easy.
Sentinel Pass is a high mountain pass in the Canadian Rockies that offers stunning views of Larch Valley, Paradise Valley and Moraine Lake. The hike is moderate but can be difficult due to steep switchbacks.
One of the most incredible hikes I've ever done. Scenery was to die for with a relatively short ascent from Moraine Lake
Sophie Sellers — Google review
So worth the hike up to see views of both sides of pass. Even though the trail was steep, it was wide enough if you need to pass anyone. It was a little hazy from wildfire smoke ~ still amazing!
Kelly and Scott Hunt — Google review
Super fun hiking lol the way to the Sentinel Pass. Although we could not finish the very last and the most difficult part to reach the pass, the rest of the trail was super fun also. The lerch valley was in full fall colors and it was crowded. This is one must do hike in the Lake Moraine area in the Fall. Lots of places to stop and take photographs. Beautiful hike and vista all around.
Sankha S Hota — Google review
A very beautifil hike with lots of variation: Moraine lake of course, the climbing up with from time to time view on the lake, then arriving on a plateau through larch trees, slowly climbing up to Minnestimma Lake, and then up more steeply to Sentinel Pass, with an incredible sight on 2 valleys. 12 km in total, an elevation gain of 725 meters and about 5 hours in splendid nature.
Jo Dejonckheere — Google review
One of the best hikes in Banff! It was pretty busy in the summer when we visited but worth it. Definitely not for the faint of heart as there is a lot of climbing and switch backs. You also need 4 people to hike due to animal activity.
Amanda Lawrence — Google review
This is one of the best hikes Alberta has to offer. In Mid September the larch trees turn color, to a fire yellow.
It’s about a 2 hour hike to the lake in the valley. parks candy had bussing now which make getting to and from the hike a breeze.
Todd Rodgers — Google review
The best and most rewarding hike we've done. The start and end are long and steep, so not an easy starter. You're rewarded with the larch Valley, surrounded by snowcapped mountains, lakes and pines. The end can be slippy when cold and icy, so bring trekking poles.
Daniel Taylor — Google review
Stunning hike. Sentinel Pass, expecially in fall offers up such amazing larching. It's a medium challenging route and takes just over a half day. It's a definite top choice hike in the Banff area. Just note that you need to shuttle to Lake Moraine as they don't have general public parking anymore.

Really hard but really cool trail. If you've got the time you should definitely do this trail. Note: a quarter of my time going up was spent past the two lakes just going up the final part, which is tough.
Pearson Harper — Google review
This was one of the nicest hikes I've done in the Rockies. I did it in the beginning of October. Larches were fully golden. Getting there is challenging with the limited parking spots. Highly recommend to be there as early as 4am. Relatively easy hike for intermediate hikers.
D Barg — Google review
Great little hike up through Larch Valley. The first bit is mostly tree covered but it quickly opens up to some amazing views. A few short switchbacks will get you up to the saddle.
Kiel Stewart — Google review
2 sections are tough but overall manageable. Took us 6.5 hours worth a 30 minute lunch break - I.e. you will be hiking non stop. Giant steps detour loop is worth it.
If the weather is right, it is worth taking a dip in Lake Annette.
We started from Lake Morriane and ended at Lake Louise. The Saddleback mountain hike was tough because we were really tired by then.
Harvey Vira — Google review
"Must see" hiking trail with absolutely stunning scenery especially in the second half of September when larch getting in its best yellow-orange-red colors. Try to avoid a huge crowd of people and come there in weekday and as early as possible. You have to be there earlier that gate are closed when small parking lot at Lake Moraine is full.
Alex Garin — Google review
Great hike for beginners. Last stretch going up the summit is exciting and challenging at the same time. One can also view portion of the beautiful aqua blue Moraine Lake from the trail.
The Beehive mountain peak is located in the Rocky Mountains and is strikingly similar to a beehive. The peak is an impressive 9,500 feet tall and is popular with tourists in the summer because of its beautiful blue color. Continuing past the teahouse on the hike to Lake Agnes offers stunning views of the valley and across to Lake Louise ski resort.
I had a breathtaking experience here doing a sunrise hike at Devil's thumb first and then going to Big Beehive. This is a fairly easy hike even for beginners. It only takes an extra half hour to get here from the Lake Agnes Teahouse. Definitely go up to Devils Thumb afterwards if you need more of a challenge. Pictures were taken on October 8, 2021 at around 8am.
Parker Wong — Google review
Spectacular hike throughout! Solid intermediate hike you will enjoy all the way. Lots of wildlife to meet along the way. We saw pikas running around on the rocks.
The view from the top was even better with the sight of lake Louise of your right and lake Agnes on left.
Be sure to drop by at the tea house on the way back.
Kanako Sakurada — Google review
Beautiful hike, we did it Sep 6 and it was snowing. Make sure to dress appropriately for the weather. The views are beautiful. Make sure you come up from the Agnes Lake teahouse and come down to Lake Louise. The trail up a bit tricky and would be easier going up than down.
Thomas Herbreteau — Google review
A tough climb up, all switchbacks on both sides so there's no way up that is actually easier... but the views are so worth the effort. There is a large area to explore and really good lookouts over Lake Louise and Lake Agnes and well is the surrounding mountains. Definitely make the climb!
Logan Gooding — Google review
I’d rate this hike as Moderate difficult until Lake Agnes/Tea House.
First milestone is the mirror lake (a tiny pond). Full view of the beehive mountain. Elevation gain of about 500 feet.
Second milestone is Lake Agnes and Tea house. There’s also a little waterfall up there. This lake is big. And nice coffee and sandwiches at tea house. Elevation gain about 1100 feet maybe.
Next leg of the hike gets harder and sketchy. Steepest part of the hike with elevation gain of about 500 feet within 1.5 kilometres. Not as many trees on the trail from this point, so loose soil. You’ll need hiking shoes to safely hike from here. At some sections, trail is barely 6 inches wide. Please don’t hike with running shoes.
Once you ascend to the top, the view is stunning and makes it worth the effort. Good luck!
Hari Lakku — Google review
An easy hike with a fantastic view! Highly recommend doing this hike with mirror lake, and Lake Agnes!
Leo Paitich — Google review
We combined the hike up to the big beehive with the plain of 6 glaciers. It was one of the easier hikes whe've made here in canada but the views were great. Totally worth it! After Lake Agnes you leave the crowded touristic paths. Most of the time we could hike without seeing anyone.
Sara — Google review
Amazing hike, so worth it. I’m not a frequent hiker so I found it moderately difficult, but with lots of breaks we accomplished it in 6 hours.
Heather Wubs — Google review
Good moderate hike from Lake Agnes, signs are clear. Multiple routes exist so recommend doing your research. Could be icy in some places so back pedaling may be wise. Beautiful views and colors with a 2-3 pm arrival. For parking, I didn't pay at Lake Louise, but I parked at a small camping lot about 1.5 mi back down Lake Louise drive. There's always spots there and it's worth the 3 mi round trip to save money and time.
Neha Patel — Google review
It's one of the best hikes. I belive should start very early in the morning. There is lovely Fall , Mirror Lake, and Lake Agnes to scenic places to watch. It's about 7 or 8 km hike and Ina group it's real fun.

Go until Big beehive for a awsome view. You have a trail, lake Louise to lake mirror to Agnes tee house and After the Big beehive. It's a little bit long trail but not too hard if you are a good hiker.

Amazing views
Long way up to Big beehive 2-3h
The way back is much faster and easier.
Totally worthy to stop by the house on your way up and get your feet in the cold water. It's the last push you need to complete the trail
Victor Camacho Morgado — Google review
An incredible hike! I would rate this hike an intermediate hike given that it’s not too long and the only difficult portion is after the Lake Agnes teahouse to the Big Beehive.
The trail starts on the right side of Lake Louise with a well labelled sign that points you where to go. The first portion to Mirror Lake was a steady incline for about 45-60 mins. From Mirror Lake to Lake Agnes teahouse is about a 20 minute hike with a steep staircase just before reaching the teahouse. From the teahouse to the Big Beehive you will go around the lake through some snow and then towards 10 steep switchbacks. These switchbacks are quite steep but dry when we went. We recommend bringing hiking poles to do this hike. Once you’re done the switchbacks about 10 minutes flat hike to the view point.
Amazing hike and highly recommend everyone try it!
Ben — Google review
An absolute gem of a hike. Another addition to the Lake Agnes hike… all of which is uphill further, but the views are breathtaking. Don’t not skip this if you have the ability! So memorable
John Whitehill Jr. — Google review
Great hike up to the big Behive. Nice gazebo up top. There is a teahouse on the way up. Parking is at the Chateau Lake Louise but it fills up very fast. This is a very well travelled path. The views up top are quite breathtaking. You also pass the besutiful Mirror Lake on the way up. The hike is not very strenuous. There are many opportunities for photos.
James Waurynchuk — Google review
The Lake Agnes & Beehive hike is really a must do in Banff National Park. Climbing steadily through forest (with from time to time a glimpse of Lake Louise) up to Mirror Lake, continuing to Lake Agnes. A beautiful lake enclosed by mountains. The switchbacks to the Big Beehive are the steepest on this walk, but on top of it you're rewarded with splendid views of Lake Louise and the landscapes far beyond the lake. 11 km, 723 meters elevation gain, so count on 5 to 6 hours, including a stop at the teahouse.
Jo Dejonckheere — Google review
Really amazing hike. The most difficult part was after the Tea House and Lake Agnes. However, this hike is VERY worth it to complete. Simply stunning.
Pearson Harper — Google review
Beautiful hike that offers an incredible view of Lake Louise. Better than the view down below and far less crowded. There's also a spot to sit and have a picnic up at the top. Make sure you have proper shoes for wet, muddy, snowy and rocky terrain. I highly recommend this hike. Spectacular view and photos from the top.
Dana Hyde — Google review
It was worth it. It took us about 5 hours to climb the mountain itself and descend back to the lake. We stopped for lunch at the Tea House.
Valeriia Kamenieva — Google review
The view can’t be beat! First time hiking this trail and we found it difficult and LONG! We’re fit but not avid hikers and found the incline difficult. We started at 7:30 am and completed the whole trail by 11:30 am. But everything is worth it once you get to the top and see the view.
Lake Agnes is a small but beautiful high-elevation lake in the Canadian Rockies. It's well known for its stunning scenery, including the views of Lake Louise from the trail to Agnes Lake. Hiking up to the lake is also a rewarding experience, with incredible views of Mount Niblock and Mount Whyte.
At the top of the lake Agnes trail and a grueling uphill ascent, you'll find the titular lake here. With a teahouse atop here and a waterfall just nearby. You've arrived at a wonderful journeys end. A perfect place to relax and view all of Banff below and your progress as well. With many of the animals here friendly and curious, you find yourself in a Disney like place. Overall an incredible and just one of many places that boast a stunning view in Banff.
Julian Vaca — Google review
Lake Agnes is a gem above Lake Louise and holds the highest tea house in Canada! The hike was actually a bit harder than we expected at 2.2 miles and 1,300 feet of elevation gain, but it was definitely worth the trip. We ended up getting up there just as the tea house was closing but the people were so nice and still served us cookies and tea. It’s one of the most unique experiences I have had at high elevation and I recommend it just for that alone! The lake itself is beautiful and the mountains surrounding it are majestic as well. The views of Lake Louise down below on the journey up are awesome as well. If you are going to Lake Louise make sure to add this to your list!
Jeremy Janus — Google review
Lake Louise is one of Canada’s most visited natural wonders and while a stroll along the lake itself is definitely a must, many visitors also look for something more substantial when they stop by those turquoise waters. Lake Louise is the starting point for a few easy-to-moderate day hikes, including the trek to the charming Lake Agnes Teahouse, a short uphill hike that offers a lot of bang for your buck. During the summer months, hikers can buy a refreshment at the top.
The walk up to the teahouse is an uphill mountain hike, but by Banff standards it’s a fairly breezy one that doesn’t require extraordinary athletic ability and is suitable for families with children. At 2.1 miles (3.4km) each way it takes about three hours to get to the teahouse, longer if you want to take some time to refuel. It’s also worthwhile to drink in the views along the way, with lakes, waterfalls and mountain peaks to gaze upon.
Rajesh Mondal (Devy Jones) — Google review
An absolutely stunning lake with beautiful mountain backdrop. Nice teahouse at the top to hydrate and have some tea while enjoying the satisfying views. Tough hike, about 3.5 hrs return.

Lake Agnes is a true alpine wonder. The hike to reach the lake is a rewarding adventure, offering stunning views along the way. Upon arrival, the emerald waters and the charming Tea House captivate every visitor. It's a picturesque spot to unwind and soak in the beauty of Banff National Park. A must-visit for hikers and nature lovers.

Beautiful easy access lake. we did the trail around the lake as well.
Sara Tavakolian — Google review
If you walk 3.5 km up the Lake Agnes trail you reach Lake Agnes and Tea House. The lake is beautiful surrounded from 3 sides by mountains. The scenery is very pleasing to the eye. There is a trail take you from next of Tee House to the other side of the lake where you can climb another trail to the top of a mountain from which you get magnificent view of Lake Louise. The trail is very steep, not easy to climb.
Talal Zraik — Google review
So as you are walking towards this trail you might be disappointed with mirror lake… but trust me keep going!
Lake Agnes is absolutely beautiful!
If you are able to definitely worth the hike and in my opinion what’s the point of just going to lake Louise if you aren’t gonna go do some sort of physical activity?
Do it! And then take a plunge! 😁
Judith Gonzales — Google review
A beautiful lake, you reach the lake after climbing several kilometers from Lake Louise. In the middle of the road you meet Lake Miror and at the end you meet Lake Agnes. It is worth making the trip for him, because he is perfect.
Yossi Gabay — Google review
Worth of climbing up here. 1hour hiking with no painful breathing.
You can overlook beautiful scenic rocky mountains and ridges.
Unfortunately now view on lake louise.
The lake agnes also looks amazing. How this small and cute pond is created in the middle of the mountain?

Tough hike, all the way uphill. Beautiful view of lake Louis on the way up. Stop at the mirror lake, followed by Agnes fall and the staircase to Agnes lake and the Tea house.
Stanley Dennis — Google review
Great reward for a long day trail (If you start your trail at visiting the seven glaciers, otherwise an easy walk). before sunset you can see crazy golden reflections.
David Carasso — Google review
Hiking level of difficulty is medium/moderate. You will pass by Mirror Lake before reaching Lake Agnes. There’s a Tea House beside it & a waterfall. It feels rewarding to have a place to sit down & rest and have a snack & drink after about an hour of hiking. I found it very surprising to have a cell phone signal. You have to hike a little bit up to go to washrooms. The path going up past the washrooms will lead you to Little Beehive. Hike for another 30 minutes & you’ll reach the top with even more spectacular views! If you walk toward northwest along the path on right side of lake it will lead you to either the Big Beehive that has a great view of Lake Louise below or to the Plain of 6 Glaciers.

Very beautiful place, there is tea house located hear. Teahouse accept cash and if u wann use card than they charge 1 dollar extra. They also have public washroom. Must walk around lake. Upto this lake its very easy hike.
I did combined 3 hikes in one and did as follow, Lake Louise ➡️ Mirror Lake ➡️ Lake Agnes ➡️ Big Beehive ➡️ Devils Thumb ➡️ Plain of six Glaciers ➡️ Lake louise.
All to gather it was 23 km and took 10 hours with lots of photos and break.

Bow Lake is a popular spot for trout fishing. To reach the lake, hikers take a scenic route through mountain meadows and rocky ridges before camping near the water. The hike to Helen Lake is also worth doing, as it takes hikers through one of the best alpine meadows in the Canadian Rockies and offers stunning views to the south of Mount Hector.
Helen Lake is a great hike. We were at the parking lot early to avoid the crowds later in the morning. Most of the altitude gain is in the first half of the hike to the lake. The scenery is beautiful and varied - a very enjoyable outing!

This first 3/4 of the hike is a steady climb, in a forest. The rest is a beautiful meadow. The lake was still frozen (June 26th) when we went. The water was high in the creek so we had to walk through the water bare foot. Saw lots of wildlife hiking at 9am.

From all the hike i have done this september, this one was the hardest, 6km to arrive at the Lake but..... the view of the lake wooooorth it a million time. My friend brought cupcakes to celebrate my birthday there and it was a winter wonderland dream becoming true.

We did not start this hike until almost 4:30 pm and were the last ones going up. There had been quite a few sightings of a grizzly bear earlier that day but we just made a lot of noise along the way. There were a lot of people coming down so there was activity. The flowers on the meadow and hillsides up higher were amazing. It took about 1 hr 45 minutes going up( and there is a LOT of up) and almost 1 hr 30 minutes going down it it was worth the views.

The lot was full by 10:30 so I parked at the Crowfoot Glacier viewpoint, requiring waiting for a break in the busy Icefields Parkway traffic to cross back over. Nice an easy hike but please continue on to Dolomite pass, ita only 15 to 20 minutes further and if you dare continue onto Cirque Peak, the view will leave you wanting more.
Bow Lake is a beautiful and large lake in Banff National Park. It's easy to access from the roadside, perfect for a quick stop on your travels along the Icefields Parkway. The lake has stunning turquoise waters and is great for swimming, fishing, or simply relaxing in the view. Bow Glacier Falls is another beautiful place to visit if you're passing through Banff National Park, and it's only a short hike from Bow Lake.
Spectacular Lake on the way to Jasper!!!
A quick stop when driving through Banff/Jasper Icefield Parkway.
Stunning views of Mountains and Glaciers. Great place to stop and click pictures with the beautiful backdrop of Glaciers. You can enjoy walking near the lake’s shoreline which offers some stunning views. You can see the reflection of mountains. Parking is available near the lake and lookout point. Bow Lake, the most picturesque lake in Banff National Park, is located along Icefield Parkway at an altitude of 1920 m. It is surrounded by majestic mountains and is fed by crystal clear water from melted glaciers.
It is beautiful at any time of the year. In summer, the shores of the lake are painted with alpine flowers. In autumn, it is decorated with golden-red foliage of bushes. A soft blanket of snow covers the shores in winter. And spring awakens life and brings new freshness.

A Must-Visit Lake on Your Way to Jasper!
If you're driving through the Banff/Jasper Icefield Parkway, be sure to make a quick stop at this spectacular Bow Lake. It's an absolute gem that you won't want to miss! The views of the mountains and glaciers are truly stunning, creating a beautiful backdrop for your photographs.
Finding a parking spot near the lake and lookout point is easy, so you can conveniently explore this breathtaking location. The lake itself is incredibly beautiful, with crystal-clear water and majestic mountains surrounding it. You'll have plenty of parking spaces available, and you'll also find garbage cans to help keep the area clean.
While there are no washrooms available, don't worry! It's still quite easy to reach the lake, and the experience will be well worth it. There are two viewpoints where you can admire the incredible scenery and capture amazing pictures.

We had the privilege of visiting Bow Lake during our trip to Banff, and it left an impression on me. This pristine alpine lake is nothing short of breathtaking and quickly became one of my favorite stops in the Canadian Rockies.
The turquoise waters of Bow Lake are nestled amidst the towering peaks of the Rockies, and the sight is simply awe-inspiring. The clarity of the water and the reflection of the surrounding mountains create a picture-perfect scene that's ideal for photography enthusiasts.
One of the highlights of my visit was the easy access to the shoreline, allowing me to soak in the serenity of the area. I took a leisurely walk along the lake's edge, and the tranquility was almost surreal. It's a place where you can truly connect with nature.
For those looking to get even closer to the lake, there's a lovely bridge that provides a captivating view of Bow Lake. The emerald hue of the water, and the rugged mountain backdrop combine to make this spot a photographer's dream.
In conclusion, Bow Lake in Banff is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and anyone seeking the true essence of the Canadian Rockies. Its beauty is unparalleled, and the experience is unforgettable. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I'll cherish the memories of my visit for years to come.

This place is a hidden gem! I was able to go on a weekday and there was plenty of parking. Walking up on the rocks a little towards the waterfall I was able to clearly feel the mist that it created around me. Such a beautiful place for little walking effort. Bring a sweater if you plan on getting close to the waterfalls as it's quite cool the closer you get to the water!

Easy to find parking. Hike was very short and it was concrete. No up or down hill. Absolutely beautiful fall. White water, lot of force. One of the quick hike. Drive to this place was beautiful.

Cascading from a breathtaking height of 302 meters, this stunning waterfall .you can hear thunderous roar of the water as it plummets into the Valley .Takakkaw Falls provides an excellent opportunity for a family adventure, complete with hiking trails that lead to captivating viewpoints, allowing you to bask in the misty embrace of the falls. a must-visit destination for cherished memories

Breathtaking view. A short hike from the parking lot going to the falls.:) Would be a challenging one if you want to climb the top (it’s doable);)
My family enjoyed the scenery and ambiance. Indeed one of the tallest and powerful falls in Canada.

Well worth visiting. The drive is beautiful (especially with autumn colors), as are the falls. Parking lot was small, but ample on an early October weekday afternoon. Falls are visible from the road, but you'll want to get closer. Short walk from the lot to the footbridge that starts the approach to the falls, but if you walk uphill past the bridge, there are the 2 red chairs for photos. Once you cross the footbridge, the trail is flat and easy to follow until you're practically at the base of the falls.

Breathtaking falls. I drove a little far from highway to the falls and lucky got the parking lot. The drive way is a little dangerous. Falls is truly amazing if you can walk closer to the rock under it. Get too close can make you wet.

Very beautiful! The drive up there is filled with wonderful views. There’s lots of tables and benches, great for picnics and various group activities. The pathway is wide and open, parking isn’t too far, my grandparents were able to walk from the car to the falls and they’ve got bad hips and all that. There were outhouses for convenience, not too clean but no outhouse is clean. This is definitely a great site seeing spot!

I really enjoyed walking the path to see Takakkaw Falls! Family and pet friendly! Nice place to stop and have a little picnic. The path is long but easy to navigate. Bring water and wear comfortable shoes! The Falls look different from multiple viewpoints driving in as well as walking right up to them. You can get close enough to feel the waterfalls spray upon you. Fun place to spend an afternoon. Great exercise walking the pathways!

Such a beautiful place. We stopped here on our way to Emerald lake. Parking was limited but we managed to find a spot. There was a lot of people. The falls are a short walk from the parking lot.

This is one of the better surprise finds during the trip in this area. On a whim we decided to check out this falls and wow it's totally worth it.
Parking was relatively easy and free, there's a washroom at the beginning of the trail so use it before you hike. The trail was relatively easy except for the very end where it was steeper and a little rocky, but should be very doable for any able bodied person. The trail took around 20-30 min each way, nothing crazy. You will get slightly wet from the falls mist, so plan accordingly.

What can I say about the most impressive waterfall I have ever seen, one of the highest in Canada.
From the parking lot you can see the immensity, and walking for about 10-15 minutes along a pleasant path and crossing a bridge (very photographable), you reach a dirt road with the waterfall as the summit of the mountain, it is a true spectacle.
I consider it to be an essential part of Yoho Park.
From the fallen fountain, all the surroundings are wet and fine drops fall that after a few minutes end up soaking, if you are wearing a thin raincoat, it would be ideal.
My visit was in August, I don't know the route in winter.

Takakkaw Falls is stunning waterfalls in Yoho National Park, and this natural attraction is well worth the drive to a side road and a short detour from the Trans-Canada Highway. More of a walk on a paved path than a hike. You can climb up the rocks at the end to get closer to the base of the falls if you want (many people do) but you don’t get that much better a view than you do from the end of the path. Spectacular and amazing!

Amazing waterfall just 15 minutes off the transcanada highway. the waterfall is only a 5 minute walk from the parking lot which has bathrooms, picnic areas, and lots of trails along the river. to get to the waterfall, cross over the pedestrian bridge and head up the path. It's a popular place for tourists and rock climbers but well worth the stop. Rocks are slippery so be careful along the river and at the base of the falls.

The most beautiful waterfall i have ever seen! So happy to be able to see it in real life! Pictures don’t do it justice. Second tallest waterfall in Canada worth the trip to see! So strong and loud, it was such a beautiful site. We went at 8 am not busy at all only 4 other people there i’m assuming by noon it gets busy. There was a few switchbacks to get up the mountain to reach the falls but nothing a small car can’t handle! Beautiful view of the mountains and all around great experience. Would definitely recommend going here if you’re in B.C. worth the trip!! Outhouses there if you need to go to the bathroom.
Peyto Lake, a remarkable waterway nestled in a valley renowned for its vibrant turquoise hue and picturesque allure, stands out as an exceptional feature. Named after the early trail guide and trapper Bill Peyto, this lake is a sight to behold in the Canadian Rockies. Located amidst Caldron Peak, Peyto Peak, and Mount Jimmy Simpson, it serves as a convenient stopover for active travelers journeying from Banff to Yoho National Park.
Stunning Lake!
Peyto Lake is one of the most colourful glacial lakes in the Canadian Rockies. It is located along the Icefields Parkway, Peyto Lake is famous for its brilliant aqua colour which is created by the meltwater from the Wapta Glacier. The lake is surrounded by a forest. You can click some beautiful photos of the lake with a short, easy walk 10-15 mins from the parking lot to the viewing platform. For even better views, you can take a short trail up to Bow Summit for an elevated, less crowded view. Parking is available near the lake but it gets full pretty fast. Visited in July so it was not cold and trail was good too.
A must visit place when visiting Banff and Jasper!!
Highly recommend!!

This was an unplanned stop and my partner and I were pleasantly surprised by both the scenery and how enjoyable the hikes were around the lake. Informative panels talked about the history of the area, the native flora and fauna, and a great viewpoint at the end of the trail produced some great pictures of the unearthly blue waters.

One of my favourite stops along the Icefield parkway. The walk is short in distance but has a steep elevation going to the viewpoint. The bright aqua colour lake and mountains behind make this one of the most amazing views in the Banff/Jasper area. The parking lot was empty during a weekday evening visit.

Insanely beautiful. The crowds were not too bad at late morning. The hike up to Bow Summit Lookout is not easy but worth the view. Many hikers spotted bears along this trails so have a bear spray ready and make lots of noise while walking.

Embark on a brief 10-minute trail journey, and you'll arrive at the panoramic viewpoint. The scenery is nothing short of spectacular, featuring azure lakes set against the backdrop of pristine white snow-capped mountains, creating a mesmerizing tableau of natural beauty that can only be described as otherworldly.

Incredibly picturesque viewpoint at the end of a short uphill trek! Beautiful blue waters of Peyto Lake look surreal and is an iconic viewpoint in Alberta. The short but somewhat challenging hike up a narrow trail to the viewpoint dock is definitely worth it for the views and pictures! This spot is generally very crowded and the parking lots will be quite full resulting in multiple drive-arounds to find a vacant space. Check this view out if you’re able!

The beauty of the lake make this place so unreal. This place became one of my most favorite places of all time when i came here. And when the water hits direct sunlight, it becomes so bright and pretty. But you need to have a bit of walking to the Peyto Lake. So if you want to go here make sure you’re ready for the walk. But it’s actual just like 500m long so you dont have really to worry about the walk

I went to Peyto Lake because I could not find a parking spot at Lake Louise and we decided to go for a trip to Jasper and on the way there we saw this beautiful lake just less than an hour from Lake Louise. It took us about half an hour walking up on the pavement to see the view point. It’s built for wheelchairs. Parking is easy to find and it’s not busy at all. The pictures I took are no filter at around 8.45 am.

Short steep hike for about 0.5 miles and the view is mesmerizing! A popular filming location too, colors and the shape is marvelous. No need for hiking shoes since it’s a paved path but it you plan to stroll around, there are rough patches so prepare accordingly.

Unreal and absolutely jaw dropping beautiful.
The lake is an amazing Turquoise Blue color, and is surrounded by amazing mountains.
The lower parking lot is abput 0.6 mile to the viewing deck.
There is an upper parking lot, but that's for public buses, if you come late in the evening, you could park there, when the buses are not running and thats a 5 minute walk to the observation deck.
A must stop if you're on hwy 93 to Jasper.

I recently visited Peyto Lake in Alberta, and I must say, it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. The moment I laid eyes on the lake, I was mesmerized by the incredible color and the stunning view that unfolded before me.
It's as if nature itself decided to paint the waters with the most vivid shades of blue, creating a scene that looks almost surreal. The color is so striking and vibrant that it's hard to believe it's real.

A very beautiful lake shaped like a dog! Waterfalls can be seen in the distance falling from the glacier and a few streams from there joining the lake. The hike is short but steep and it starts from the parking lot. Went there in the evening and parking was almost empty.

Peyto Lake in Banff National Park is a true natural wonder. The first thing that captures your attention is the mesmerizing turquoise hue of the lake, a vivid blue that seems almost unreal and takes your breath away.
The lookout point at Peyto Lake offers a magnificent view of the lake and its surroundings. It's spacious enough to accommodate a good number of visitors, but what truly makes it remarkable is the jaw-dropping panorama it provides. The landscape is a postcard-worthy scene of the Canadian Rockies.
However, it's essential to be aware that the hike to the lookout point involves a significant elevation gain, which can pose a challenge for those with mobility issues. The trail can be steep in sections, so visitors with difficulties in climbing should take that into consideration.
In summary, Peyto Lake is a must-see destination for anyone exploring Banff National Park. The striking turquoise waters and the breathtaking view from the lookout point create an unforgettable experience. Just keep in mind the hiking difficulties for those with limited mobility when planning your visit.

Hike road was concrete and stiff (going uphill). There are some resting spot throughout the hike. No picnic benches available or shaded sitting area. There is overlook view point. Beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. Pictures are not doing justice. Absolutely must! This hike is handicapped accessible path to the end. Hike can be finished in an hour so people are in/out quite often. Loved the hike!

The reality is, Moraine Lake and Lake Louise are flat out crowded and unless you arrive first thing in the morning during peak season, chances are you will not find parking. What I learned is Banff is FULL of glacier fed lakes; you know that special blue water we all crave? Pictures don't even due this lake justice. Word to the wise, Peyto Lake is right off route 93. When you enter the area about 45 KM south of the lake, you will not have cell coverage. Is this really a bad thing though? The main observation deck for me was overwhelming with the casual on looker. But for an unhindered view of the lake, head down the small path to the right of the overlook tower and find you a spot with nobody in your way. Your pictures will be breathtaking. For the real adventurer though, get back in your car and head north on 93 and look out for a small pull off on your left. Head down that trail. You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

We’re so lucky to have such an incredibly curated and locally sourced food store in the valley. I stop here every time I’m going by to stock up on my favourites, like pies, beeswax for candles, mead, specialty sauces and jams, and game jerky. The owners are always helpful and carefully choose everything they sell. To rate this small family business poorly because they don’t provide bathrooms as some sort of public service to the thousands of drivers who pass through this valley while kicking horse canyon is closed for construction is unfortunate at best and grossly entitled at worst. There’s provincial rest stops five mins in either direction.

Delightful products with an active beehive and shop dog. That was the only thing that felt welcoming here. From the moment we went inside we felt like an inconvenience and a bother.

Emerald Lake, situated in Yoho National Park and less than 20 minutes away from Lake Louise, is renowned for its clear, green-hued waters. The lake gets its unique blue-green color from the reflection of light off white marl deposits derived from limestone erosion during the last ice age. Enclosed by mountains such as Mount Burgess and Wapta Mountain, Emerald Lake offers a tranquil and secluded atmosphere compared to its well-known neighbor.

September 2022. Yoho National park was incredible, I got to hike several amazing trails such as the hike to Takakkaw falls (very easy) and the hike to Wapta Falls (moderate). Both were great. Emerald lake was also very picturesque, although parking is limited so you will probably end up parking far down the street it’s totally worth it. I managed to get a campsite at Takakkaw falls by showing up early, it’s about a 500 meter walk to get in though from the parking lot it was nice n quiet. I was also very lucky and got a last minute opportunity to go to Lake O Hara, I hiked the full Alpine circuit up there took me almost the whole day one of the most difficult trails iv hiked and maybe the most spectacular hikes iv ever done, the park offers a lot of great hikes and views it was a little smoky when I went maybe because of wildfires up north, even so this was one of the nicest areas i visited in Canada. its just as good as the nearby Jasper and Banff National Parks if not better imo, would highly recommend.

A beautiful area, but a little disappointed that they are closed by October when neighboring parks like Kootenay, Banff, and Jasper are still open. Couldn't do any of the hikes we planned because certain roads were closed. Bummer.

Beautiful drive through the mountains. Roads during the summmer were clear and directions were easy to navigate. Lots of pullover spots in case you do feel lost but there is signage constantly. Make sure to stop by the waterfalls and natural bridge !

What a turquoise colour lake! A breathtaking view of the lake and view of the mountains. It is easy to hike around the lake. Emerald Lake is located in Yoho National Park. It takes half hour driving from Lake Louise AB to Emerald Lake BC
Really beautiful waterfall.
The hike is easy, just the last meters are quite steep. Down at the waterfall the stones you walk on could be also wet. Mind your steps!
In the summer/autumn saison there is the possibility to get to on of the islands in front to take amazing photos.

Exploring Wapta Falls in winter is an absolute delight! Don't forget your spikes for traction on icy trails. The 5km hike offers beautiful scenery throughout, with the highlight being the magnificent waterfalls at the end. It's worth noting that during winter, the end parking is closed, adding an extra 2km to your journey. Despite this, it remains a fantastic short hike, perfect for enjoying the wonders of nature in a winter wonderland setting. Whether you're an avid hiker or just looking for a picturesque outing, Wapta Falls promises an unforgettable experience filled with beauty and tranquility.

Went in mid November very nice hike a little bit muddy but the falls were absolutely amazing definitely recommend going here. For better views take the trail past the first viewing point and get up close

It’s a 2.4 km hike one way but very rewarding. Lots of mosquitoes so bring bug spray. You can actually go up to the island when there’s not much water on the falls. A must visit when going to Golden.

Amazing falls just off the highway, if you have an hour to spare, the hike is totally worth it.
Daniel Arrieta — Google review
Such a beautiful hike! The view of the falls from the Top Lookout point is incredible. Highly recommend!
Some details for reference:
- From this point on the map it’s an easy 2.4km hike to the Wapta Falls Top Lookout (plenty of parking here like 30 cars easily). However, during off season months when the front gate is closed, add about 2km to your hike for you to walk to the start of the trail (so a total of 4.4km one way).
- You can still park at the front gate, only enough parking spots for 6-8 cars max (free).
- Definitely not baby stroller-friendly as there are plenty of exposed tree roots and inclines/declines along the trail.
- Washrooms available at the start of the trail parking lot.
- Trail is very well maintained
For the Apple Watch workout enthusiasts (round trip, there and back at off season)
Elapsed time: 2 hours 13 minutes
Distance: 8.2 km
Elevation Gain: 150 m

My favorite fall in the area!! We had so much fun climbing and splashing!! It’s a bit of hike there but its an easy trail and it lets the place to be less busy and more enjoyable.
Go down to the fall and up the rock if you can, though it’s a bit steep and you will get wet, it was such a fun thing to do! Kids and dogs friendly.

Beautiful hike. We found the trail quite easy. Did it with our 6 and 8 year old. Felt good to go close to the falls on a hot day.

Wonderful fall. 2.5 km one way trail with incline and decline of off road however it was worth the hard work, you got the best view of waterfalls 3 times from front view, top view, side view… Please take clothes and towels with you if you want to have a fun under the fall.

Do maps here instead of “wapta falls” to get to the correct location. Parking here is small but free.
This was an easy 2km walk to reach the top of the falls before you can take a short descent down to the base of the waterfalls. Very beautiful and an adventurous time!
So bring bug spray / mosquito repellent as there are quite a few mosquitoes at the start of the trail.

Awesome place to visit. Up a long off road track but easily drivable. Toilets in the carpark. About a half a hour walk to the falls. You can walk down the the bottom but we just stopped at the two viewing points.

Nice little spot on the side of the road with great views.
The Kicking Horse River is a stunning waterway that boasts various rapids ranging from category C to V. This river is a hidden gem in Yoho National Park and offers visitors an opportunity to experience the great outdoors. The river is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and features several notable attractions such as Takakkaw Falls, Wapta Falls, Emerald Lake, and more. White water rafting on this river is a must-try for anyone who loves being near or on the water.
Was supposed to visit Takakaw Falls but it was closed due to maintenance (October 2023) We went on a detour instead and found this gem near the area! We went down so we can see the closer view of the river and it was amazing. Mother nature is beautiful indeed.
P.S. parking is free and a bit spacious. Just be careful when you go down the river and climbing back up to the parking.

Kicking Horse River flows across Yoho NP from Wapta Lake to Golden, and runs alongside the TCH. It’s a turbulent river with the local greenish cast from the rock flour dissolved in it. Its very popular with river rafting trips and kayakers with both Class 3-4, and 5-6 rapids. It’s also the home of three waterfalls: the Kicking Horse Cascade, the Natural Bridge Falls, and the largest, the 100-foot Wapta Falls. There is a hike back to reach this waterfall. The hike back to these falls was too much for us, but I would have liked to have seen it. Fishing is also popular.
We just liked watching it boil and foam as we drove beside it and saw it again at the Natural Bridge.

The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge is an architectural masterpiece that effortlessly blends beauty, function, and nature. Spanning the mighty Kicking Horse River, the bridge's striking silhouette stands tall, seemingly suspended in mid-air, connecting two sides of Golden. Its sleek lines and graceful curves evoke a sense of elegance, while its sturdy construction inspires confidence in its safety.

It was extremely difficult to access this bridge via Apple Car Play - the road recommended is under construction and inaccessible to vehicles. We abandoned our car and walked because we could SEE the bridge but couldn't figure out how to drive there. Bridge itself is beautiful and the river is fast moving and looks icy green.

In the heart of Golden, B.C. is this gorgeous covered bridge built over Kicking Horse River. This tranquil and friendly town is cozily nestled between the mountain ranges that run North and South of it. The town has plenty of amenities and the locals are very friendly.
Experience the diverse wildlife at Rocky Mountain Buffalo Ranch and explore Yoho National Park's natural wonders such as Emerald Lake, Takkakaw Falls, and Kicking Horse River's natural bridge. Avoid tenting in the rain by opting for one of the rustic cabins like The Bunkhouse which offers surprisingly comfortable beds and layers upon layers of blankets to keep you cozy during chilly autumn nights.
Stayed on this ranch when we were in the Canadian Rockies three years ago. Leo was very entertaining and accommodating, I truly enjoyed our stay here for seven (7) days . Leo is fantastic and I won’t forget the stories and details of the Buffalo that he shared. Visited on June 3, 2023 for a Bison tour. Amazing place, totally worth visiting. There were 19 bisons, including 5 calves, and Leo, the owner, knows everything about them. He gave us a wonderful tour, we could see these huge animals from very close. Most of the reviews here are quite old so I want to confirm this place is still in business and welcoming visitors

We lucked out and scored a last-minute booking to avoid tenting in the rain. The Bunkhouse (the most rustic cabin on the ranch) proved to be a great alternative with a surprisingly comfortable bed and layers upon layers of blankets perfect for snuggling to stave off the chill of a sudden cold snap at the onset of autumn. While the open-air setup and lack of conventional toilets or running water could be a tad “too primitive” for some, it has the potential to be a great stay for anyone willing to give up a few creature comforts for a unique experience.

Airbnb Stay:
This stay exceeded all expectations, it is 110% worth it. We got engaged a few days before our stay, and our time on the ranch added a magical touch to our trip. We stayed in the Sauna Cabin, which instantly felt like a home away from home. Even though we arrived late at night, it was easy to find the property. Being surrounded by nature (on a BUFFALO ranch!!!) was a unique experience allowing us to properly recharge. If you are on the fence about staying here, take the leap and book it - DO IT! The area is wonderful, serene and recharging. Chester Jr and the herd added an extra layer of charm to the experience.
Buffalo Tour:
If you want to inquire more about the Buffalos and hear adventurous stories, the Buffalo Tours is a must! You will not be disappointed, you will leave knowing more about the owner but also the Buffalo herd and its history. You might also learn how to do a bow drill fire!!!! If you enjoy the tour and want to keep a memory that will ignite your adventurous side and make you feel like you are sitting at a camp fire with Leo sharing his stories, I suggest you snag a copy of his book.

We went for the daily tour at 10:15. Unfortunately the owner and guide Leo was sick but one of the hired hands gave the tour and he did a great job even though he had only been there a couple months. Really cool to see all the buffalo as we are from Nova Scotia and don’t have those animals back home. The kids said that it was cool to go there.

We stayed here a few years ago on a tour of the Rockies, and spent two nights in the "sauna" cabin. It was a tremendous experience, especially cooking breakfast on the old cast-iron "rancher" stove. If you are in the area, try to call in at the Burgess Shale Geoscience Foundation which is about 10 miles away, in the town of "Field" - it's where the oldest geological deposits ever discovered on Earth can be found.

We stayed in the Sauna Cabin for 8 incredibly cozy days in January and it was an experience we will never forget.
No electricity in the cabin, just a fireplace in the sauna for heating, a smartly built kitchen with enough utensils to prepare lovely meals, phenomenal mountain view, lots of snow and -4 degrees Fahrenheit/-20 degrees Celsius.
It was the perfect mixture for a quiet, peaceful, „back to basic“ stay, that opened our eyes in many ways and will forever stay in our memories as one of our all-time highlights on our world trip.
We would LOVE to come here again and miss this place so much!

Wow!! What a tour! Leo is the best. He took the time to explain all about the buffalo's and other animals he's worked with. He is very friendly and patient. You can truly tell he loves all the animals on the ranch. The Buffalo's are majestic and they get close to the fence so you get a pretty good look at them, about 5 feet away. Leo gets in with them which is wild! I highly recommend this tour, the price is not expensive and it will be worth it. Next time I'm in this area I'm definitely staying on the ranch. My entire family cannot stop talking about it.
I just had the pleasure to take a trip to beautiful Golden BC and visit the Northern Lights Wolf Center. The staff were friendly and answered all my questions (no matter how silly) I was lucky enough to go on a Wolf Walk with the lovely Flora (wolf) I got to see her walking around off leash in a natural environment. Lots of great photo opportunities and got to pose with her in a few! The ladies hosting the walk were fantastic and knew their stuff when it came to the wolf pack. I can definitely say I will be back to see the pack again!

Unfortunately was not up to our expectations. (Kids were so excited!) We were too early and waited in the area around one hour as the centre opens at 12pm. After paying entry fees (Cash only, so we used the ATM inside the centre) entered the centre. There were few wolves in separate fenced areas. You can watch them through the fence nets. That’s pretty much when in comes to viewing and interactions. Then there was a narrative done by a staff member which lasted for maybe 15 minutes which was informative. Not even one animal was taken out of the cages at least during the narrative. Not the money we spent but the time we spent was not worth it! Just our experience.

Thought i’d bring my son to learn more about wolves today; instead I was shocked at the conditions it is like a run down zoo. The wolves look terrible.,The website says not to call to book ahead as they run tours daily every 30 minutes. We arrived just after 1pm and missed that one so decided to wait for the 130pm ( there was no tour at 130pm) I tried to find an employee to ask and I was told they were short staffed and not planning on running another tour until 230pm. I had already paid for my son and I - we dove1.5 hours from Radium to visit and we already did a self guided tour but we were curious where these wolves came from? As well as other questions-The one employee who said no more tours until 2:30pm then said hesitantly that she will answer any questions that I had and then went on a rant about the mistreatment of wolves in the wild because the government allows them to get hunted. This place is a run down shanty and the wolves are very sad looking and dirty. Don’t support this place. They also have blasted on their website that no dogs are allowed- but they have dogs running the property freely barking and annoying/teasing the wolves. ( the dogs run free the wolves do not). Horrible experience I wish there was 0 stars to give.,

Great place to learn about the importance of wolves in our ecosystem. The staff (partially volunteer run) talks about the situation between Yellowstone National Park and Canada, when some wolves were borrowed in order to up the wolf population. Lots of other important things covered. Saw a few wolves behind very tall fences. You can stay for as long as you want. The talk is about 20 minutes and you can sit on wooden benches during it. There is also a little gift shop. Tickets were about $12 each, cash only. Not a lot of parking, maybe 8 spots.

What an amazing experience! All the wolves even started howling while we were there. Be aware that this is a conservation facility and not a zoo, so it is a teaching and an awareness moment when visiting and ot for entertainment. We were a bit hesitant on visiting this place for a couple of reasons. 1 we had found the area super expensive and a bit of a tourist fleecing trap. 2 some of the reviews are pretty negative. With that in mind, as it was literally ten mins drive from where we were staying, and we are animal lovers we gave it a try.
It’s a relatively little site easy to find on Google Maps and sufficient parking. Cost is cheap and was paid, you can go in and wonder around. There are a bunch of info boards around the place as well as some gift shop stuff. And there are a couple of enclosures with the wolves in. All good, we could see the wolves, and they were lovely. If it was just that, you would maybe have said Ok that’s a bit expensive. But they do regular “interpretive talks” where they explain all about the wolves, their impact on the ecosystem etc etc. Our one was carried out by a lady whose name escapes me, however she really nailed it. I have attended hundreds of events where people are talking to a crowd. Be they entertainment events, work events or whatever, I have been to a lot. This lady was hands down the best speaker I have ever seen. First off, she didn’t use a microphone, but was loud enough (without shouting / yelling) that we could all hear. She was expressive with her voice and interactive with the audience of about 30. She knew her stuff and told us a lot of really interesting facts and figures. She talked about the wolves being keystone species, which lines up with information we have read elsewhere. The talk lasted maybe 25 mins, but it was hard to tell as we were thoroughly engaged.
There was no political agenda, no forcing things down our throats and a genuine “Thank you” for attending as it is a big help towards the conservation.
Additionally, although we didn’t do it - you an book to go on a wild walk with some wolves, where they walk free and will come up and around you whilst taking a walk in the forest. Chance to get some great pics I imagine. Might do that in the future if we came back through the area.
Absolutely recommend spending an hour here!

If you're driving through staying in Golden or just driving through, this place is a must see. The work they are doing to bring information to the public about these beautiful animals and how endangered they are, is extremely admirable. The staff are very knowledgeable and love what they do. They will be happy to answer any of your questions. When the wolves begin howling and it echoes through the valley, you will be transported to a whole other world. The gift shop is full of amazing items. They rely on donations, so please visit so they can continue to do the incredible work they are doing here.

We are from Alberta and we recently purchased a R.V, before setting out on a big trip we decided to do a trial run and go to the IPE in the BC interior. On the way through Golden we heard about a wolf sanctuary up the road, being the animal lover we are we decided to head up there and take a look. We we got there and stepped through the door we were immediately there treated with disrespect. Us being a family of 3 asked if we could purchase a family pass because it’s cheaper then to buy individually. When we asked the lady at the front counter, we were snarled at by the owner who was restocking the atm that she apparently owns. She refused to cut us the two dollar break because we “didn’t qualify”. I guess to be considered a family you must ONLY have 4 members in it. After we then paid the individual fees, we were allowed in. We were given a paper that had a bunch of information on it and as I was reading it over one of the so-called “facts” caught my eye. It claimed that there has never been a single wolf attack that resulted in a death, a simple goggle search would find out there have been recorded cases of a wolf killing a human. Blatant lies. Looking at other reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who thought the enclosures were very tiny, they couldn’t even run in them. Then the owner comes back out and starts to feed the wolves, one of the newer wolves was very small, he was scared to eat because of the bigger wolves. Her seeing this, she did nothing about this, at least she could have closed the pan so he could actually eat and not be in fear.

We've been there today. Staff was friendly, and was asking to anser questions. the wolves were very interesting and cute. Ticket's cost 15$ each. Which was okay I think. But the area was way smaller than expected, but still beautiful and lovely. The gift shop was nice and they had cool souvenirs, but very pricy.
Overall worth a visit, but it's only 30-60 minutes stay.

In the Canadian Rockies, there's a remarkable sanctuary where wolves, formerly part of the movie industry, find refuge and care. The bond and affection shared between these wolves and the woman who oversees their care, along with her staff, is truly heartwarming to witness. The experience of walking alongside a stunning white (gray) wolf, gradually earning its trust, and ultimately having it comfortable enough to approach you, is both unique and extraordinary. After spending an hour there, I found myself deeply enamored with the wolf and filled with respect for Shely, the nurturing 'mother' of these wolves.

We went to the northern lights wildlife wolf centre to see wolves. We got educated by a young girl who explained a lot of history to us about the wolves and how they impact our ecosystems, how we helped out yellowstone and how our government is killing wolves here in Canada with a harmful poison. Very sad. We were expecting to see the wolves moving around and maybe more wolves but there’s only 6 and we only seen 4. 3 were sleeping while we were there. You could book a tour with the wolf walking with you in the forest for a few hours that’s what we wanted to do originally but you have to book far enough in advance to get a good time slot unfortunately didn’t add up with our trip time so we went to check it out anyways and it was a bit of a let down as most of them were sleeping and couldn’t see them all. Small space can’t walk around the cages coated us 30$ it was nice to see the wolves just would’ve been cooler to see them moving around and if we could walk around more to check them out. Not much to do there.

Was expecting a bit larger area (compared to other wildlife and wolf sanctuaries that we had been to). There was only 2 fenced areas that contained wolves, I think we saw 6 wolves total. Price is $15, which goes towards wolf conservation. The tour guide definitely knew what she was talking about, but spoke a little fast. Overall good experience, just a bit underwhelming - but we understand the concept behind the sanctuary.

This was AMAZING! I can't say enough about how incredible the experience is! Shelley (wolf handler and guide) was really friendly, knowledgeable, and (necessarily) strict at the same time - it cannot be said enough - This Is A Wolf You Are Walking With! Safety is her number one concern for both the humans AND the wolf so rules are enforced without negotiation.
Also remember, this may look like a large dog and you may see him/her acting like a large dog but he/she IS NOT a large dog! Just ask what their teeth can crunch through - Shelley knows!
It is a once in a lifetime experience and if you have any love for animals, this is an experience not to be missed!

Love this place. We don't ski. However, we took the gondola ride twice. The view is beautiful from the top. there is a restaurant on the top but unfortunately, it is close to the public for a wedding. Still, we enjoyed the view. The gondola ride cost half price after 2.30 pm for the rest of the day. It's about a 20min ride on one side where you can watch people ski and maybe be able to see the grizzly bear boo located on the mountain.

Great experience! We were able to purchase tickets for the RAP (Ranger Assist Program) and it was well worth it. We were lucky and got to see Boo the Bear lots as he was very active near the fence line.
Very fun time and the kids enjoyed it too.

Amazing hill with a diversity of runs for everyone from beginner to expert. Lower mountain lifts are family/beginner friendly and have shorter lines. Upper mountain and gondola provide a mix of intermediate to advance/expert runs. A hill worth visiting! If you are there in the spring you may even see Boo the bear!

First class resort.
Many posh Chalet's to rent.
Ski area is made up of mostly expert terrain.
Excellent snow conditions
Mild temperatures, clear skies, calm winds
Friendly and efficient guest services personnel
Friendly and efficient hospitality personnel
Snowmobile rentals and tours
Nordic trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. There is a separate lodge.
Gondola services mountain top restaurant. Sight seers are welcome. And there is sight seers passes available at guest services.
Less expensive ski pass options. Half day at 12:30 to 3:30, and a one chair lift pass that gives you access to all of the novice and intermediate terrain.
I was completely blown away by this resort. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Probably Canada's steepest and most challenging resort! A real treat for "expert" skiers, however, I wouldn't recommend for beginners. Snow is plentiful and powder can be found for weeks on end!

Took the gondola to the top and hiked two of the hiking trails. We had a great time. The views from the top were spectacular.

we had the best morning taking part in the ranger experience with Boo! Our guide was super informative and so nice. she was more than happy to answer all questions and it looks like Boo has an amazing set up here, everyone truly cares about his well-being, he definitely has a great life here. After this, we took the gondola up the mountain and did some hiking, stunning trails, could maybe be better sign posted but we managed. Insane views and all staff were wonderful throughout the resort.

Love this place. If you're traveling with people that don't ski or board this resort allows people to ride to the top of the gondola and enjoy the breath-taking views and enjoy a stop at the dining restaurant at the top. Then the gondola will take you back down. The views while on the gondola are amazing. See things from a view you wouldn't normally see.

I absolutely loved this resort. I came at the end of march which was a bit icy because the sun melts the snow during the day and it freezes at night. Had to wait for a lot of runs to warm up in the sun before they were doable. I will definitely come back next year in January when the snow is prime. Can't wait. Make sure you check out boo the resident bear while you're there!

We got trapped in Golden coming from Banff due to avalanche mitigation further up the pass. We thought it was the perfect opportunity to check out kicking horse! We got the lift ticket that allows you to use the smaller lift only and it was great! We didn’t have to pay for the full pass but still got the opportunity to ski some beautiful terrain! We were also impressed by the friendliness of the staff in the ticket booth as well as all the places in the village. Would love to come back and explore more of the resort! Overall we loved it!

We did the Via Ferrata Ascension tour and it was so fun! Great intro to outdoor climbing if you've never done it before because it's so safe and easy to use the bars and steps here. Lenka was our guide and she was wonderful. Super patient, knowledgeable, friendly and encouraging, especially for those who are initially nervous. She also took wonderful photos for us which was so appreciated. I'd highly recommend doing at least one of the tours but definitely the ascension one! There's a fun suspension bridge, ropes, ladders, vertical climbs and even a tightrope portion. You'll be so glad you did it!

Great experience! We were lucky and got to see Boo the Bear, not a lot as he was wandering in bushes.
Amazing hikes at the summit.

Great resort to stop by for a trip. I went in the summer and they had tons of activities to do. Well maintained and challenging mountain biking trail, hiking trails, grizzly bear, cable car and a via ferrata. I didn’t get a chance to go mountain biking while I was there but I could tell from the cable car that it would have been worth it if I had the time. I did have the chance to do the via ferrata which was fun and provided beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

I had the fortune to photograph a wedding up the mountain at the resort and I was completely blown away. Such an incredible venue with mind-blowing views. I had snowboarded there many times in the winter and I thought it was just as spectacular in the summer. The staff was amazing and kind and the ceremony was on the terrace overlooking the peaks. Just WOW!

Arrived just after lunch & lineup seemed long but was quick. Everyone had a great day. Black diamond runs & sun shiny blue bird day. One person fell but the ski patrol took care of them. All in all, great time had.

Unbelievable snow conditions when we went. Great mountain for skiing. My personal favorite was the Fuez Bowl. There were a few flatter spots at the bottoms of the bowl, so snowboarders beware.

Beautiful hill!! If you’re new to the game don’t be afraid. The green run from the top of the mountain was my best friend! Gives you plenty of space to take your time and get the hang of it :)

Always an exciting and fun challenge. The weather conditions were not great this year, but I was still happy to do T1 for the first time. The best run was in Rudi's bowl.
The photo is the view of the hike to T1.
Joseph Deally — Google review
The base simply isn't deep enough yet (Jan 2, 2024), resulting in numerous spots where the snow is brownish. Many of the runs have rocks scattered about. In some places, the tips of pine/spruce trees are scattered almost completely across the run. Unfortunately, they haven't received the snowfall they usually get.
The staff were very polite and helpful!

1500 Kicking Horse Trail, Golden, BC V0A 1H0, Canada
Chatter Creek Mountain Lodges is a ski resort situated in the heart of massive BC mountains. The resort offers two log-style lodges that feature cozy rooms, a restaurant, sauna and massages. Guests can enjoy fantastic facilities including hot tubs, pool tables, bars and large dining rooms with great food served by attentive friendly staff. The snow cat skiing area is considered the best in the world and the terrain is steep with semi-deep powder.
Top shelf experience through and through.
The hospitality was phenomenal, the room is very comfortable, beautiful lodge, and the meals were spectacular.
Unfortunately, our tour got cancelled due to weather but the team at Chatter handled the situation like pros and we are excited to go back next year.
Somethings like the weather are out of people’s control, but a big thanks to everyone on the Chatter team for making the best out of a tough situation.
Also, rocked the cold plunge in the creek and it was a five star experience!

Fantastic cat skiing experience! Great atmosphere! Very friendly and professional staff!
Aernout van der Gaag — Google review
Chatter canceled my last tour. I think after spending over 50 days and $125,000 at Chatter I deserve a better explanation than “I was observed doing something unsafe”. By far the most dangerous thing I did at Chatter was do an entire run under the snow instead of on top of it. A guide from Wyoming thought the run was unsafe for more than 3 skiers so he followed the lead guides tracks instead of adding to the right as instructed. This action probably prevented him from setting off the big avalanche, although he narrowly escaped from being caught in the avalanche I set off. I think if the guide had pulled us from the hill after setting off a 2 ft deep avalanche, I could have avoided my near-death experience. By chance I avoided the large trees and escaped with only had 3 injuries. Luckily, I was fully buried on the cat track near another guest who was able to free himself and was able to dig me out. The tail guide went off searching for me without organizing a search or knowing if there were 1 or 5 skiers buried. I think if I got hung up ½ way down or there had been multiple full burials someone would have died.

Snow was superb. Steep and semi deep but steep. Save trouble a d rent their powder ski's a d use their ski poles. Avipacks a available for rent.
Be sure to tip staff. They deserve it. $100 day for main staff. Leave general staff tip of $100 for length of stay.

Short steep hike down to the falls and just as steep on the way back up. Highly recommend this hike. Suitable for families with young kids. But I don't recommend it for anyone with mobility concerns.

Really nice and short hike, a bit steep going back up though. We were there around 9am and it was completely empty.

Trail was in great shape, and I appreciated how wide it was since it's on a mountain side. I was a little worried about the hike back up to the top, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely worth doing if you are hiking in the area.

Amazing and beautiful place. Be ready to get wet from the mist.
Access has steps and prepared trail but would require a basic level of fitness to reach. Physically challenged people may not be able to access the waterfall and the pond where the water falls definitely requires some stretching and climbing over the rocks and boulders capabilities.

Roger's Pass is a renowned mountain pass situated in Glacier National Park, crossing the Selkirk Mountains along Trans Canada Highway Number 1. It boasts an elevation of 1,330 meters and features a visitor center that highlights the region's railway and highway history. This scenic drive is incredibly picturesque, offering breathtaking views at every turn. Rogers Pass serves as a gateway to Yoho National Park and is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring the natural beauty of British Columbia in Canada.
This is my quick goto for a hike. Only 1:45 hour(s) away. A few of the favs; Illecillewaet Glacier (bring your crazy carpet), Glacier Crest, Abbott Ridge (Marion Lake), The Hermit basin, Balu Pass, Mt Sir Donald (a scramble, protection necessary). Great memories of watching "Snow Wars" when I was a kid. A few less services available these days; no gas station and no hotel with the restaurant. And sadly they've had the museum closed for nigh on two years now. Attached are recent pics from Balu Pass.

It is located in the heart of Glacier National Park, and is about two hours drive from Revelstoke on the way to Golden, on the Trans-Canada Highway. There are beautiful views of the mountains all around. These mountains are popular for ski mountaineering, camping, hiking and mountain climbing. There is a Visitor Information Center here, which has a good display of stuffed wildlife and information about the history of the Pass. There is a public toilet, but no coffee or snacks shop. It is a calm and scenic place with a good rest area and plenty of parking to stop while driving along the highway.

Very scenic drive through the pass just be aware of sudden weather changes and road conditions due to elevation gain. There are a few Avalanche tunnels as well, and remember no gas station between Revelstoke and Golden

First time stopping here since the new center opened. Huge building just for bathrooms, so clean. The gift shop and museum are in a separate building but neat to look around. Walk around outside to stretch your legs, read the signs, look at the displays, eat and of course just enjoy the views!

Visitor's Center was closed due to COVID but there was a touchscreen outside that had solitaire installed. Cleared a game of classic spider solitaire in about 11 minutes, was quite a bit of fun. Great views too.

This is a great little interpretive/visitor's centre with plenty to see and do. Gorgeous building with some dated, albeit relevant exhibits inside. The theatre was closed when we visited but we took a look inside anyway. Part of the exhibit space was also closed, Theist likely due to Covid-19 and/or staffing. The staff were incredibly friendly and willing to answer questions.
Generous parking, clean washrooms, great rest stop.

Such good hosts, such a good place! Clean bathrooms west of the visitors center keep the historic building calm, and the park staff setting up my overnight permit even loaned a phone (so that I could get my ACC hut reservation number)! Definitely stop here, learn about the railroad, take a walk, etc.

We didn't get a chance to check out the museum, but it definitely looked neat from afar. The small gift shop was also cool to look throughout. However, there were not many small souvenirs specifically for Glacier National Park when we went by. Their bathrooms are the best we stopped at, with the clean, themed decor and ambient birds chirping, though!

Great little Visitor Center to pick up some literature about the area and see some history.
Nice assortment of souvenir patches and cards as well.
Bathrooms and plenty of party.

Nice place to visit and learn some of the history surrounding the area. Great bathroom facility adjacent. Beautiful views of the mountains. The big issues for me regarding the location is the traffic. No one follows the speed limit and if you are heading east toward Golden, exercise extreme care and attention. Crossing the road could be hazardous to your health.
Dennis Gane — Google review
What an unexpectedly great stop this was. The Center is amazing and full of historical artifacts and lots of great information. The Parks Canada staff were incredible and very friendly. Stunning views from the parking lot too. My only regret is that we could not spend more time here as we arrived only 20 minutes before closing. Stop by and learn about the history of Rogers Pass and the surrounding area!

Mount Revelstoke National Park is a picturesque destination featuring wooded hiking paths, rainforest terrain and elevated viewpoints. Despite its smaller size of 260 square kilometers, the park offers diverse and stunning scenery including old-growth rainforests with giant red cedars and pine trees, steep mountains, and an array of plant and animal life. It also boasts one of the few inland temperate rainforests in the world.
Mount Revelstoke National Park is utterly incredible! It truly feels like you are off grid when wandering around the ample forest trails. The rain forest is something you will never forget and worth seeing on your next great adventure!
No matter the time of year, there is so much to do and see. We could go on forever and can't wait to share more with you!

We had to wait for quite a long time to drive up the parkway. It wasn't really a meadow. More of a mountain peak. Still fun to walk around and the trails were all accessible. Would recommend for families.

One of the most beautiful national parks in Canada. Very well maintained with informative maps and guidance posted in the trails and parking lots. Best time to visit is June for the wild flowers.some trails you can't take your dog because of bears. some other trails dogs allowed only on leash. Parking lot is not very big at the end of the road so in busy hours you may not find a spot. Multiple view points are in the road that you can stop and enjoy the view facing the Revelstoke city.

We stayed at snowforest over the May long weekend. This is a relatively new campground and we really enjoyed our stay. Sites are well spaced, bathroom and washing facilities are very modern and clean, wood is available for camp fires (make sure to bring an axe, not just a hatchet), and the trails literally leave from the campground to hike as far as you possibly like. Definitely going to become our regular stay when visiting Revelstoke. Highly recommend booking early for peak times. Limited first-come-first-servecspots available.

Really amazing fall colours on the entire drive up on the Meadows of the Sky Parkway. The park was closed at the Columbia lookout due to snow at the top. Mt. Revelstoke is one of the smallest park in Canada 260kms. Check out the Nels Nelson Ski Jump, Broken Bridge hike was a short 30mins hike in, Sorensen hike 2km and many more.
Be sure to check out Skunk Cabbage and the Giant Cedar Boardwalk on the drive into Revelstoke. Both short and a sweet walk with photo ops and views.

Don’t waste your time. Road is closed at 14 km away to summit. There is no any notice or sign at the entrance about road close. You will realize you have to walk 14KM to the top after you driving 20mins from the entrance. Maybe June or August will be better.

The drive up to the top is spectacular! We did this drive in mid July and the wildflowers lining the road were beautiful. There were many hikes available along the way up, it was not congested with tourists, and parking was available in the middle of the day at the top. There was also a free shuttle up and down for those not able to make the short uphill hike to the summit. I would highly recommend this park and the sky meadow parkway for anyone who would like to enjoy the Canadian Rockies without crowds and with light to no hiking.

This resort is huge and vast. The first time skiing there, I lost my way. It's worth trying the highest elevation and longest run in Canada.this resort is also part of mountain collectives pass that you can get half price discounts from other partner resorts like sunshine or lake louise. It is open until mid April and after that is closed for maintenance and then reopens for mountain biking and trails hiking. The pipe mountain coaster is a unique experience for you and your kids.

Sorry Revelstoke Resort but the Town of Revy is doing all the heavy lifting.
OK so here goes. Will not comment about the snow as we had a heat wave in mid March so that’s all about Mother Nature not playing ball. It’s an awesome ski town. Yes the resort has some nice fall line and some easy to access side country. Now here come the “buts”.
The town is doing all the hard work for the resort. The resort needs to mature a little. Yes the grand plans of old to install lots of new lift that expand the terrain have not happened. “But” there is so much that can be done to improve the vibe of the resort. A simple food truck with some tunes and good food at the bottom or top of Ripper chair would create some options and vibe. Mackenzie Outpost, is on the money, “but” get some more lounge chairs 50% of the people are looking for. Spot to sit, lounge and spend money (take a research trip to a European resort and see how it’s done with simple sun lounges).
Revelation Lodge - For the current owner just remember it’s not a Denny’s, it’s got zero vibe unless you like public school halls.

We spent nearly a week here and it still didn't feel like we ran out of things to do (or beautiful scenery) - very worth the long long drive out from Calgary. Bit too many moghuls by mid-day but they were soft, powder moguls so can't really complain :D

We didn't stay at the resort but visited for the day to ride the downhill trails. Awesome time. Short waits if any for the gondolas on a gorgeous Saturday was a pleasant surprise. One member of our group had a nasty spill and the Patrol staff were professional, thorough, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly.
Robbie Fogal — Google review
The terrain is unbelievable!! Definitely geared towards more experienced riders and skiers. For the price, I wouldn’t recommend for first timers since you’ll barely get to explore and experience what the mountain has to offer. For everyone else, it’s a paradise 🙌🏼

Revelstoke is a gem! The slopes are uncrowded, and the ski runs are nicely groomed. Intermediate skiers can explore easier glades and terrains. This is my first time skiing through glades. Personally, I loved the Back40 near Ripper chair; it was so much fun!
Jie Z (Amy) — Google review
There might not be many lifts but the lifts they have are extremely efficient, and services a huge amount of terrain. There's great tree-skiing for all levels (check out the trees next to the Gnome Zone for beginner-friendly trees). Recommend the Revelation Lodge for food - much more spacious and comfortable than the Mackenzie Outpost. My only beef with the resort is that it's lousy with traverses, and the ski to snowboard ratio is quite high.

I fell in love with this place! The mountain resort is the only or one of the few ones in BC that allow paragliding pilots to use the lifts and take off in the resort. Just amazing! I did my first really long thermal flights there. Amazing views. Not just paragliding, also hiking and many other things can be done here.
I wanted to stay 5 days in Revelstoke and ended up staying almost 4 weeks. I just love this place!

Took my nephew on the mountain coaster, he absolutely loved it. One of the ticket options is 2 rides (there are 2 rails), axe throwing and free gondola up to the top, worth doing for the views. There is a small 15-20 minutes hike at the top as well you can do after having a nice burger & fries. A must do.

The skiing is fantastic but what really sets Revi apart is its people. The team from the base of the mountain to the top of Stoke, Ripper etc are pure quality. Friendly smiles and a lending hand are the norm. I must single out Jordana and her Guest Services team. My group witnessed a situation they had with a challenging guest and they handled it with grace, maturity, respect and professionalism when it was not being reciprocated in the slightest by the guest. They deserve kudos and plaudits for their attitude and actions. Bravo!!!

We had a blast at Revelstoke in February 2024. The weather was unfortunately warm, and snow was minimal but we had a group of 15 and enjoyed the mountain immensely. We stayed in two AirBnb 15 minutes away. Loved the town. Chairlifts and Gondola’s were smooth and efficient, and the mountain was great to explore! We had a medium experienced group of skiers and boarders and were able to enjoy the majority of the mountain.
Look forward to head back in the future to shred the verticals with powder.
Awesome culture on the hill

Great snow at the top, above the main gondola. Lots of powder, fantastic conditions. Black runs are enjoyable. Got my legs pretty exhausted by the end of the day.
Vlad Maevskiy — Google review
Pros and cons. Revelstoke is (normally) famous for great snow and lift-accessible terrain. This year in Canada (2023/2024 ski season), El Nino has been punishing everyone with poor snow conditions. I happened to visit Revelstoke on February 27th, 2024, right after a fresh dump of snow in Revelstoke, which I am grateful for. There were limited stashes of fresh powder to be found at the top... BUT
The new dump of snow, however welcome, was not nearly enough to provide adequate coverage for the middle portion or lower half of the resort; with almost every run closed below the Revelation Gondola, except for The Last Spike. Despite the sparse snow and limited terrain, you will still pay handsomely for the privilege of riding Revelstoke; with one single-day adult ticket coming out to a whopping 187.95 with tax. Yikes. I literally winced when I went to pay.
More positives:
Lunch was delicious. Butter chicken and a drink at the mid-mountain lodge for $27. I enjoyed it! Staff were friendly and helpful as always.
Overall, the cost was too steep. But everyone there made the best of things. It was a good day nonetheless. Plus, they say a bad day skiing is better than a good day in the office.

If you're looking for a bougie stay to go along with your ski trip, then this resort is for you! This resort is right in front of the gondolas, two outdoor hot tubs, an outdoor heated pool, which are all next to a bar, and their bathroom floors are heated!!
We booked their two bedroom suites and it came with a full blown kitchen. I'm taking a sink, dishwasher, oven, microwave oven, a fridge and refrigerator. There are a few restaurants, bar and cafes at the resort. If that isn't enough for you, the town is a short 10 min drive. There is even a spa place for massages and facials! I recommend booking your messages before you arrive for your trip, otherwise they will be fully booked.
If you book many months in advance and come on a weekday, prices aren't too bad and the ski resort isn't crowded at all. Parking for guests are all indoors in garages. You will need your hotel room card to open the garage doors.

Just returned from Revelstoke and wow, it’s epic! Forget the slushy snow of the Greater Vancouver area. Revelstoke’s champagne powder snow is a dream come true. The slopes are uncrowded, giving you the freedom to carve your path in peace.
Bonus tip: If you have a y2play pass, you can grab two days of free skiing and get a 50% discount on the third day.
Highly recommend for an authentic and exhilarating powdery experience!
The Revelstoke Dam Visitor Centre, currently closed until 2022, provides an intriguing look into the history and functioning of one of British Columbia's most powerful dams. The center includes the BC Interior Forestry Museum, showcasing local history and old machinery with a stunning view of the dam from the lookout point. This hydroelectric marvel on the Columbia River created Lake Revelstoke and offers educational insights into green energy for all ages.
I'm biased, as I think Hydro Dams are really cool. But it's a great stop for the whole family. Very informative and interactive guided tour. 6 dollars per adult is one of the more reasonable admission prices you'll come across. As well as a very decently priced gift shop. Thanks BC Hydro!

This is an interesting and educational tour. The views from the top of the dam are pretty great too. We enjoyed all of the hands on exhibits and we’re not even kids! The audio tour is a must if you don’t have an in person tour guide. The staff is friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend.

Great way to spend an hour or two. Wonderful tour guide, very informative session. Relatively cheap at $30 for a family of 4. Even kept the young kids entertained.

We visited the dam and visitor center a few days ago when we were visiting Revelstoke. While there we joined a free tour of the facilities. It was an interesting, informative and enjoyable experience. The view from the top of the dam is majestic. I took photos but none of them do it justice. If you're in the area, I highly recommend visiting it and joining one of the free tours.

Popular science green energy is very good, and it also gives children some basic knowledge of electricity. The construction process of the whole dam is introduced. The last visit was to the top of the dam.You can overlook the panoramic view of the valley and the power station. The wide flood discharge can take off and land.Very worthwhile. The introduction of hydropower resources in North America is also very detailed. The tour ends with an elevator ride to the top of the dam. It has a panoramic view of the valley and the transmission substation. The wide spillway can take off and land aircraft. It is well worth a visit.

Enjoyed our tour of the facility. It was interesting to see the history of the construction as well as learn about the future plans as well. Definitely worth the $8 admission for the guided tour.

$8 per person, $7 for kids. Very clean and informative the reason it gets 4 stars is because of the elevator that takes you up to the viewing deck. It’s extremely slow and you have to wait a long time for your turn. It’s also shared with the workers.

Very impressive project. Recommend going with the dam tour as it’s very informative but staying behind when the group has left the viewing area at the top of the dam.
Going down the “very slow elevation” and waking through the cold tunnel along, you will hear and feel the vibrations of this great concrete structure.

I really enjoyed the tour . The tour guide was very helpful and friendly and very knowledgeable. Admission was reasonably priced. Unfortunately because of security reasons the public is not allowed to enter a lot of places they once were.

The Revelstoke Railway Museum is a historical hub featuring both indoor and outdoor exhibits showcasing vintage train cars, engines, and antiques. The museum houses well-curated railway artifacts that offer great photo opportunities for visitors of all ages. The venue's information boards, displays, and equipment are fantastic in quality. With knowledgeable staff on site, including a curator who is an expert in everything railway-related, the museum provides a great learning experience for adults and children alike.
Thank you for a great visit. Beautiful venue and great location The information boards, the displays, and equipment all fantastic. We met Jim, the curator and he was helpful and super knowledgeable. I have wanted to visit this Railway Museum for years and cant wait to visit again.

This small but feature packed railway museum has both indoor and outdoor carriages to view (the indoor carriage can be walked through). There are multiple exhibits covering the history of the railway in the region but our kids enjoyed watching the model railway the best. Worth a visit if you or your kids enjoy trains.

So neat!! Skiied for a couple days and wanted to see some of the other sights, railway museum did not disappoint. Cool to learn about the history of the town and what brought Canada to be how it is. Also has the sickest and most reasonably priced merch of any museum I’ve been to (maybe not as sick as art gallery merch but cmon it’s a museum about trains, pretty impressive that they have sick merch)

Great Great history. Absolutely love the upstairs asthetic and exhibit. They have very nice railway artifacts and well curated. Good photo opportunities and the staff really knew their stuff. Had the opportunity to meet a couple board of directors who work on site. One restoring the interactive mini train display and the other who seemed to be an expert in absolutely everything. 100000% recommend. Good for adults and children.

Interesting railway museum. My kids liked seeing the trains up close - Staff were very kind. Not too many interactive displays for the kids and you have to pay extra an $2 to try the train simulator. They really enjoyed getting to board one of the indoor trains and exploring the outdoor train yard. Consider it a look and learn museum versus a touch and play one :) Very nice newly renovated accessible washrooms. There is a little gift shop with souvenirs and historical memorabilia but note there is no food to purchase on site. Expect to stay an hour or so.

A well worthwhile visit to the museum. Our two guests from the Netherlands were impressed. The four of us got a lot of fun doing the engineer simulator

Great museum! Good mix of indoor and outdoor exhibits. Found some great souvenirs and books in the gift shop. My 5 year old really enjoyed the scavenger hunt and my teen enjoyed the train simulator.

A lovely little railway museum with friendly staff and reasonable admission fees. The exhibits and trains were interesting.
The train driving simulator was a bit disappointing because it wasn’t operating properly (you basically couldn’t do anything except take the brakes off and honk the horn) but that is just a small part of it.
We’d recommend a trip!

Awesome experience, so thankful we stumbled upon this place. Great reading and seeing the history and work that went into the railway system in Canada. Also amazing seeing the sheer magnitude of the steam train inside.

This place is amazing! They actually restored an entire steam engine with its fuel tank, and many other machinaries. It's very informative and interesting. We end up spending 3 hours in it.

Very enlightening. This museum tells us about the onerous, yet thorough history behind the railroads built across British Columbia. The museum shows us through miniature and life-size models of trains, descriptive portraits and relics. This makes for a good field trip about Canadian history.

Peaceful environment, friendly staff, and LOTS of trains. Perfect activity for a train loving toddler!
This is a go-to stop in Revelstoke!

Revelstoke Railway Museum is a perfect spot to visit if you're interested in trains! Full sized steam train and Canadian Pacific passenger car inside the museum, as well as a half SD40 cab simulator that costs $2. The museum is full of smaller exhibits with neat railway related items (clothing, hats, old pocket watches, time tables, etc), and has a decent gift shop with various items like puzzles, shirts/hats, posters, pins, etc. Would recommend visiting!

Great museum that helped me understand the history and importance of the railroad to Revelstoke. The exhibits are well done and there is a lot of information to provide context. Loved the model railroad and the thrill of seeing real life trains going by on the mainline right outside the windows.

This is a great place for young and old. So much to see in the Ghost town and Roundhouse. We heard other visitors saying how well they were looked after in the on site hotel. Views to die for and ideal for train spotters as the goods trains and Rocky Mountaineer pass by.
Great views of the mountains and nice cafes in town.

Pretty good place to stop and enjoy some of the history. Decent for kids that love trains as well as adults. Don't orget the outside train yard has more but gets missed. Parking is great and even has chargers for electric vehicles.
