Thunder Cove Beach, situated in Darnley on the north coast of Prince Edward Island, is a must-visit destination for those seeking natural beauty. The striking Teacup Rock, sandstone cliffs and constantly evolving cave formations make it an awe-inspiring location to explore. This stunning beach provides a rare opportunity to experience the sea, dunes and cliffs all in one place. Visitors can also witness breathtaking sunsets at Thunder Cove Beach.
The place is super great but please don’t go after noon because you have to walk in the see. Because the rocks are after a curve and because tides are low in the morning you can easily go there and enjoy the rocks.

Gorgeous beach, unfortunately the teacup is gone from the hurricane, as well the trail along the upper cliffs are apparently private property, was told to leave by two lady's.
Tanner Swift — Google review
On top of the unique tea cup rock, I like the part that it takes about 10-15 minutes walking on the beach to get there. One side of the beach is the red cliffs with interesting caves and rocks. another side of the beach is a relatively flat sand beach with distance of long waves.

Beautiful - strange thing is that you couldn't park in front (maybe the view of the ocean would be blocked by cars and the house owners don't want that?). Very very windy especially when the sea is rough but great place. Recommended! You can also watch many birds glide with the wind or even struggle with it to keep airborne :-)
Jetlover X — Google review
Nice beach with very interesting cliffs. There were some people using the reddish dirt from the cliffs to stain t-shirts, which later we saw for sale in shops. Parking is at a premium along the road to the beach, then there is a steep path down to the beach. We had a good time walking along the beach viewing the interesting cliff formations along the way..

Absolutely stunning. I heard this was a local favorite and I can see why. It wasn’t super crowded and it was absolutely stunning. Nice beach plus the amazing teacup rock is not to be missed. I wouldn’t go to PEI without a stop here.
Allison Rockey — Google review
Very nice clean and not too busy beach. We had a great time walking around the rocks and enjoying the views. It is a bit of a far walk to the rocky area but worth it and not as crowded. The only downside to this beach is that there was no public bathrooms. However the rocks made for great areas of shade.
Brandon Hunt — Google review
Beautiful beach with interesting red rocks, the shape of the one jutting out into the sea changes as you approach from man to child.
Limited parking, steep slope down to access the beach but well worth it.
Catherine Shawarby — Google review
Absolutely lovely beach, and had the most unique red stone ‘geography’ which made for a lovely morning walk. A couple of things is that parking was tricky, and getting down the the beach is too - it’s right in front of many private cottages with many signs. Clearly there’s a lot of debris falling probably due to people driving near the cliff or coming down the cliff through the wrong way, so just something to be mindful of. We went at 7am which was beautifully empty, but we found some garbage on the beach which - for these reasons it gets 4 stars, a must see sight but for a pure beach day perhaps there are some better options in the island.
Nena Alvarenga — Google review
As other have said, this beach was a little difficult to get down to, but well worth it. We were sad that the "tea cup" rock formation had been washed away, but the other red rock walls and caves were also stunning. Well worth the visit. The old weathered lighthouse further down the beach is still in operation!!
Jennifer Fletcher — Google review
this place is still worth visiting to see the beach and sandstone even though the teapot rock is gone. its quite amazing to see the shapes and carve outs of the red sandstone. its not difficult to get here. you will travel on dirt road to street parking. there are signs where you cannot park. from parking on the street head down the cliff and turn left. go when the tide is low or your feet will get wet.
Nathalie Mark-Yam — Google review
Visited in June 2023- despite the teapot gone, the beach is stunning! Iconic PEI red sand, fun small caves & cutouts in the dunes! Completely worth a visit while on the island.
Parking isn’t great (only on one side of the street as the other is in a residential area) so be mindful when visiting.
Caroline Dudz — Google review
This was my favourite beach to visit on the whole of the East Coast. It was exactly what I was looking for and the experience was all the more special during sunset. Driving there isn't too bad. There is a bit of a dirt/gravel road but it'll be very obvious where to park once you get there. Once you get down to the beach head left & keep walking to get to the rock formations. I already want to go back here!
Priya Shah — Google review
Beautiful beach.
Roadway at the beach is horrible. Park along the side of the road.
Can be difficult to get down to as there is no staircase, you climb the sand dune instead. That said, it is manageable and worth it!
Windy, sunny, so bring lots of sunscreen.

I wanted to learn more about the locals and farmers on the island and came across Green Gables Alpacas. Janet was dealing with a sick animal the day we visited and she soldiered on. Right from the moment I entered to the time I left her passion for all the animals on the farm shone through every word she said. Extremely knowledgeable in all things alpacas!
I had a farm tour where we learned all about the alpacas, and got to ask unlimited questions about the land, the animals and more. We were shown the results of sheering, a spin demonstration and of course met and hang out with Grizwold the llama! She has a cute little shop with yarns, hats, mitts, and more.
Her story on starting the farm is one that should be acknowledged, praised and told. Absolutely recommend this sweet spot to really connect with the hard working people of PEI.
Alayna Simpson — Google review
A wonderful spot to take a tour of. They should be booked ahead of time, so be sure to do that if you go.
I love that the tours are all different and not a set speech- You're allowed to ask questions and conversation can just happen naturally.
Lots of babies and pregnant Alapacas during our visit! We learned lots of about the alpacas, their attitudes, how to treat them, and the dyeing of their wool.
The shop is definitely worth stopping into, with lots of items to choose from.
I would definitely go back, and make it part of my trek in that area!

Highly recommended Alpaca Farm in PEI! Especially when you need a break in seeing the ocean, beaches and lobsters everywhere on the island. We were accompanied by friendly staffs in the store and Triton gave us an informative tour with feeding of the very handsome Lama in the farm. We concluded with thank you greetings from the owner, Janet and don’t forget to get one of the Lovely Lama toys! The fleece is so soft that not many places would have this kind of high quality toys! Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Jason Cheung — Google review
One of the highlights for us during our vacation on PEI. Informative and interesting. Janet is very kind and very knowledgeable. A great storyteller, too. One can tell she loves what she does and cares deeply about her fleece-y friends. :) The store is worth checking out as well.

Amazing place to learn about alpacas and have a close contact. Staffs are extremely knowledgable and freiendly, of course. They respect alpaca as much as they do for the customer. Love it love it. Love it! My kids are still excited about this visit. Also, their wool is like cloud... beyond soft...
Hyeonok Brian Heo — Google review
Lovely staff. Informative. Some interaction with animals. Wool spinning demonstration. Nice gift shop. Loved it, even with 2 young children along. Be sure to make a reservation online.
Karen Aughtry — Google review
This was such a fabulous experience. I found it really informative and interesting. They answered all my questions. Just getting to spend 90 minutes observing the alpacas in their natural space was a treat. I loved how respectful they were of the animals and giving them space and treating them well. At the end I got to feed Griswold, their lama, who was so sweet. They have a sweet little shop there with high quality products. I left with some alpaca wool socks, dryer balls and mini alpaca. Incredible unique experience on PEI that doesn't feel touristy at all. A real hidden gem!
I also loved meeting the owner, Janet, hearing her story about the farm was incredible. She did a spinning demo which I didn't expect but really enjoyed.
Heidi Murphy — Google review
This was the start and a major highlight to my wife (Maria) and I's vacation trip to PEI. We had our pictures taken with the resident guard llama Griswold and got to feed him some apples. At the end of the tour, Janet showed us how she spins the fibre and answered all of our questions. She even told us about the different qualities of fibre, how they differ. Definitely recommend anyone coming to PEI for vacation, like we did, or in general to book an appointment for this very informative and fun experience!
Dustin Martin — Google review
We were so happy to have made a visit to this lovely Alpaca farm. It was the last tour of the season so we were thankful we made it, especially after the storm. Janet cares so deeply for these animals and it shows! We learned a lot! It was almost a 2 hour tour but very informative and enjoyable. My husband and I each purchased a pair of very cozy alpaca socks from her shop and we love them.

Went for Open Farm Day.
The Alpacas are cute. Otherwise I didn't find it too interesting. Don't believe there's a washroom and the gift shop is on the more expensive side. There's no signs to tell you to not touch the Alpacas but the staff don't want you touching them.
Jessie Yuet — Google review
Had a great time learning about alpacas. Very friendly and informative. The spinning lesson was great! It's amazing how their coats become yarn. A definite must visit.

It was a amazing farm, learned lots of knowledge about Alpacas and watched different ages of them. The stuff is friendly and knowledgeable, highly recommended this farm . Finally, the toys from the gift store is so cute!
The Haunted Mansion is a family-friendly attraction situated in a Tudor-style home. It offers visitors an opportunity to experience a thrilling and fun-filled adventure while walking through the well-decorated mansion that takes more than 20 minutes to explore. The haunted house consists of exceptional props, which are some of the best around. With carnival rides and a gift shop on site, it's an ideal place for families to enjoy together.
This place was the most fun I had while on the Island. It takes quite a time to go through. The props are awesome, some of the best. There is a good mix of surprises so it never gets boring. Id recommend going here to anyone, kids and adults.
Philip Merritt — Google review
The best haunted house so far for us. Great experience for the entire family. Nice garden is a great addition to a house - you can spend some time there, and then get back to the house for one more round. Fun with kids. Take coins to the garden. There is a red chair to put a coin (25cents) into and get an answer about you 🙃
In the house watch for portraits, they change - you might want to spend decent time near the "beautiful/scary" lady, as it changes two times for each character: a woman, a men and a creepy child - this portret was one of our favourites.
Great collection of different scary things. Might be pretty cool on Halloween
Anna Kuksenko — Google review
This was our first visit and the experience was very nice. Everything was well decorated and the props were exceptional. It was more than 20 minutes of walk in and around the mansion. Considering the COVID19 situation, it was a job well done.
Rajil T. Joshua — Google review
This was the best haunted house! Air blasts, famous characters, unexpected movement and sounds! I'm normally not a fan if getting scared, but this was awesome!
And the house! Such an amazing building. Went through three times and still missed a few things! Walk slow and enjoy each tableau!

Spooky house but lots of fun.
A fun activity and a grea 1 hours stop by. Cool garden in outside.

Scarier than expected, they use a lot of interesting tricks to get ya! Very much enjoyed the haunted house, and the gardens were very nice too. I appreciated that they had full hand sanitizer dispensers in many well-chosen locations.

Very nice place for the family to enjoy. Some parts of the mansion was creepy but we all laugh at each other for screaming.

This place was such a reasonable price, lots of good scares, and a beautiful garden area in the back. The price covers you to go as many times as you'd like from open until closed, which is amazing for someone visitingand wanting to kill some time. The chip truck out front had amazing food as well.

This was a must for me when planning our vacation. I’m so stoked that it opened up for the season before we had to leave. It was everything g I could wish for. Scares, chills and mind spinning vortex. Totally a fun experience for my 12 year old daughter and I! The house itself was too much for our almost 5 year old, but there are a couple exits along the way and my husband took her outside. The gardens are very nice too:)

Was fortunate enough to have enjoyed a performance of
A Christmas 🎄 Carol
Dec 2022
This to me was a live performance of A Christmas Carol, and my thoughts were, this is the performance you get after a two-year shutdown due to covid-19.
90% of the actors have succumbed to covid-19 and the immunologically strong 2 cast members have survived, and during quarantine they have had ample time to have learned every part and all of their lines. And in the spirit of entertainment, The Show Must Go On!
The two remaining cast members deliver a spirited and memorable performance! Five star from every angle, standing ovation!
Consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to witness the efforts of these two performers and how they held the audience's attention in the palms of their hands for 2 hours. Bringing it to a crescendo of emotion and joyful seasonal celebration! Bravo and hats off to the both of you!
Hope this is helpful!

What a great experience to learn what is taught at a Piping school and the parts of a bag pipe. The newer, attached auditorium is well suited for concerts and competitions. Most topics were covered except for the “straight face” vs smiling of the performers.

I am a snare drummer at the college, and the experience is really one of a kind. I now have two jobs now because of my commitment. They are both at the college. The college is currently teaming up with the National Piping Center in Glasgow, Scotland. This is also the only place that teaches bag piping, Scottish snare drumming, highland dancing and step dancing year round in north America. It is also a unique facility because in 2004, Doug and Debbie Hall really liked what the college had to offer. They didn't want to just donate twenty dollars, so they paid for all lessons for people under 18 who want to take snare or bagpipe lessons.

Performers are amazing. Shows are wonderful.
Parking is terrible. Why have a big theater if you can only have enough parking to fill half of it. We went during the winter and had to park in a snow bank along with many others. At least plow the back area to make it convenient.

Years ago we went to the island and made a point to see a performance. It was super amazing. This last August we visited again and made a point to see another performance, actually the last one of the season. Definitely not amazing, actually terribly disappointing with dancers not keep the rhythm, making mistakes and being other late or too early in the movements. What a shame having my amazing memory shattered completely. The Drunmers were amazing. The Pipers equally amazing. Day of performance -August 12th. Giovanna & Matteo

Aug 17, 2023 we saw the Goodtime Radio Variety Show play. It was excellent, creative, fast paced, and had fun audience participation. The actors were professional and could easily be on Broadway. Highly recommend for all adults!

Small, intimate theater. We attended a Christmas presentation which was excellent. Seating is comfortable and the theater interior is rustic and charming. I estimate about 130 seats. It is located in a seaside village with interesting shops and restaurants. Most of the shops and restaurants are seasonal. Parking us on the street sides and can be tricky on a busy evening. Allow some extra time to park. Theater has 3 clean bathrooms and a drink concession.

Bravo to the Victoria Playhouse for bringing Beyond the Sea to your theatre. I really enjoyed visiting and would highly recommend everyone to check it out. Comfortable seats, pleasant staff and great production.
Amazing experience and very beginner friendly. Paul is very kind and helpful in guiding us through. We kayak out for 35 mins, clam digging for more than an hour, then kayak back in and Paul will cook lunch. Total time is around 4 hours. Paul's red clam chowder is exceptional in quality. We also get to bring home half dozen of clam for dinner. Love you Paul!

Excellent day on the water with Paul! Great equipment with all safety measures observed. Paul was extremely knowledgeable about fishing/clamming. He was patient, gave great instructions and recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our kayak and clam digging experience -- the chowder at the end was delicious 😋! Would highly recommend and will definitely do again on next visit to PEI. Thanks Paul for a wonderful morning on the Northumberland Straight!

This is a must do if you are in PEI, absolutely an extraordinary day, did a little kayaking to The Sandbar, Paul the owner, our guide did an excellent job teaching a newbie how to hunt clams for the first time. We were very successful we had over 60 clams bounty and kayaked our way back. Chef Paul cooked us up the most exceptional clam chowder on the island. Extremely generous I think I had three and a half bowls. Strongly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience this morning doing the clamming tour. Paul and Leah were helpful and knowledgeable, the kayaking portion was beautiful and not too long for our kids, and the clamming itself was so fun! We were a bit worried about taking our young kids on this excursion but we all had a blast! Not cheap, but totally worth it.

Nice location and beautiful town. The younger staff needs to know a bit more about their boats and how they operate some boats need a bit of maintenance.
Bottle Houses- Maisons de Bouteilles is a tourist attraction consisting of three beautifully crafted buildings made entirely out of recycled glass bottles.
Pretty much a tourist trap that we visited with eyes open, willingly giving them our money for some photos and the ability to say we'd been there. Notably, they still request everyone to wear face coverings and had the blue paper masks available at the door for free. They were slightly dog friendly, agreeing that our Minnie could visit - if we carried her. Overall, it was amazing the amount of work the artist undertook to create these building, but we left shaking our heads that he might have been slightly crazy to do so. We had fun.
I originally gave this place a three star review, basically as I was grading on a curve and it seems impossible that every attraction we visit would get a four or five star review. After reading their extensive and well written comment I felt compelled to reconsider and kick it up a notch or two.
We visit almost every "tourist trap" we drive by, and don't consider that description a hard negative. Tourist traps can be fun, quirky, interesting, and many other adjectives - this one was at least those three. We are not gardeners, but did appreciate the gardens. Sorry for putting Minnie down a couple times - she is very well behaved and well traveled herself, and even 15 pounds gets heavy. Wish I had known about the doggy wagons!
Oh, it's actually amazing how many bottle houses there are. We've visited two PEI alone!

I enjoyed this space and the time there, but I don’t know that the ticket price really aligned with the experience on the whole. It was cool to walk through, but we spent less than 30 minutes onsite with seeing everything.
It might have been more enjoyable with any type of interaction or something to follow. Maybe I missed something. :)
I think if you’re not budget conscious, its a nice stop to make and a good way to stretch your legs while looking at an interesting spot.

Very interesting place to visit if you are in PEI. The 3 houses were built by Édouard T. Arsenault around 1980.
Having seen a postcard of a tourist attraction consisting of buildings made of bottles on Vancouver Island, he decided to build the first house of bottles himself.
After spending a long winter cleaning and
sorting bottles, he was glad to see the spring of 1980 arrive; construction began a mere challenge and hobby yet. As his work progressed, people kept visiting him, admiring the results and encouraging him to pursue his dreams to reality.

This is an ideal destination for a day out with friends and family, featuring a wide range of captivating attractions and stunning views. The $10 adult entrance fee is quite reasonable given the wealth of experiences offered. The venue is impressively well-maintained, and the presence of a gift shop adds to the experience. With so much to explore, it's undeniably a must-visit if you happen to be in PEI!

Very surprised at how much we enjoyed this place. I thought it might be a glass house, and that was it. This place is so much more. There are several bottle buildings. The grounds are stunning with perennials everywhere. The gift shop is loaded with items made by local artists. Not the junk that is made in China.
Come see what one man can do with 12,000 bottles

If you're in PEI, this is a must-see attraction, no doubt about it.
It's a labor of love, twice over: originally by the maker of the houses (Edouard) and then by the people who rebuilt his creations, documented everything, and preserved his legacy so beautifully. Love for the man and his work shines through the site.
Just a lovely place to stroll through. The explanations are worth reading.
Admission for our family of four was $25.

What a lovely place the Bottle Houses- Maisons de Bouteilles is to see in PEI! It happened to be a rainy day when I visited and it was still beautiful touring the bottle houses and gardens. Truly a labour of love as revealed in the historical pictures and descriptions at the site which have been lovingly preserved by the current owner. A beautiful reminder that we can be inspired to make dreams come true at any age since Edouard Arsenault began construction at 66. Thank you for preserving this beauty!

The Bottle Houses are unique and interesting. Built by a guy named Edouard in his seventies, he built 3 bottle Houses and used 25,000 bottles total. Some of the bottle houses had to be rebuilt because they collapsed.
There's a small pond, garden with cute little decorations, bottle art sculptures, benches, a replica of a lighthouse...
There's a gift shop when you first enter. Adult admission is $10. There's a self guided tour. They give you a brochure with the information on it. And in the houses there are the same information of the tour on it.
Nature center with a museum, restaurant & gift shop, plus trails for hiking, birding & scenic views.
Best view of the Confederation bridge from NB. A beautiful trail to the Lighthouse. You can go snowshoeing in winter or go on a beautiful walk in summer. Definitely must visit in summer. The facilities are closed now probably because it is winter.

This is a great place to stop after a long drive. It’s $8 to enter the park and they offer several hiking trails, and you can walk along the shore too. There’s an observation deck where you can take many pictures of the bridge, and there’s even a trail where you can walk under the bridge. One of the trails leads to the light house, and you can take a look inside if you’d like.

A beautiful spot before going on the bridge to P. E. I !! A nice place to relax and enjoy the great views. Get some ice cream, here as well. The people here are great! Great customer service and guidance to the lighthouse. A nice walk to be enjoyed as well, and don't forget the discovery center. 😉

Interesting experience. Enjoy nature, the museum, the beach, the lighthouse, a little bit of history, the gift store, the indoor interactive walk, short walks around the island, and especially the views. Staff are so welcome. You can park outside the facilities or pay a small fee to have access to the parking lot center. Hope you don't miss this experience.

Cape Jourimain Nature Centre is one of it’s kind. It’s location makes it special. It is situated on Cape Jourimain Islands. These islands are classified as National Wildlife Area as well. These are the islands where historic Confederation Bridge starts from the New Brunswick side.
The Nature Centre can easily be navigated on all kinds of Maps. Being located right at the root of the bridge one can have stunning views of the bridge from the look off tower built besides the Museum. The Museum and the store close at 5pm rest of the places including look off tower are open all the time. This Nature Centre is comprised of around 8km length of maintained trails across the whole wild life area passing through Salt Marsh, wild rose bush, woods, coastline and under the bridge. A Museum about local birds and their habitat and range of migration, a big eatery and a kitchen is also located in the Museum building, a store to buy souvenirs where you can taste different ice cream flavours too and of course a good size parking area. The review won’t be complete without mentioning another beautiful attraction of the place which is the lighthouse, of course. There’s another coastline trail that can take you right to the lighthouse while relishing the gorgeous views of beach and the bridge.
I bet these islands must have some native history as well. However, I didn’t notice if it’s mentioned anywhere in the museum at all or at other places. Apart from that it’s a must visit place especially with the kids.

I have been here a few times now but never in season when they are open. Beautiful spot to go for a walk and take pictures of the bridge.
Beautiful course! Every cut of grass was consistent on every hole, greens were no different. Staff all had great customer service, the guy in the canteen deserves some extra praise. Cannot wait to golf this course again!

I played this course yesterday, for the first time since 2007. The staff are top notch, friendly and inviting. The proshop was efficient, but not rigid and the two working yesterday were funny and accommodating. As you make your way to the tee, you are greeted by a starter/marshall, who while I didn't catch his name yesterday, was one of my favorite parts of my entire day, he clearly loved the course and enjoyed seeing people enjoying the course, and had lovely stories about how the course has evolved. Also, he was right on top of timing when we encountered our one minor slow down on the day (It was at the signature hole, who can blame a group for taking their time). The course is in emmaculant shape, with incredible grounds keeping especially with the weather we've had the last 3 weeks. They also have an excellent restaurant and food, and an excellent off/on course drink selection (and very friendly cart staff). This course is a true hidden gem, potentially one of the nicest public golf courses in the entire province. Tiger Woods used to play 20kms to the east at Fox Harbr, and you can start to understand why by visiting Northumberland Links. Thank you for a truly incredible day

Wide enough to give you options but challenging enough to get you into trouble. Greens are firm and true - just fantastic. Scenery is awesome. I would highly recommend.

Played here a few days ago, just after hurricane Fiona. BRAVO to the staff and grounds-folks, this place seemed to be hit hard, trees down all over the place, but they got the course open and in Amazing shape only a few days after the carnage. I play about 50 rounds of golf a year, hcp 10-12, and we were on a golf holiday out this way, and stumbled on to this course trying to squeeze in an extra round. I felt that the course was a fun and fair layout, greens and fairways were both phenomenal, I was so glad we came here (en route to PEI from Lunenburg). The holes north of the road are of course spectacular, being so close to the water, but the whole course was fantastic. If you have time play here!!

My favourite course in the province. Also has the fastest greens. 4 of the toughest par 3s ever.
My late husband and I came here on our anniversary for almost 20 years.

On our way back to quebec, I found this golf course for only 82$ cart and taxes includes around 17h00. And they didnt charge anything for my girlfriend to jump in thé cart with me. Amazing view, it took us 3h12 to conplete thé 18 before dark.

Northumberland Links is a beautiful course. I especially loved the holes by the Northumberland Straight, the only thing that could make this course perfect is having every hole by the water! Played with members Gary and Jojo, great people! Oh, and the greens are fast!

Course was in excellent condition even thou it was very wet with all the rain. We found the price out of line for this time of the year ($124 per person with a cart). They used have specials at one time if you had a foursome. I wish they would bring them back. I have a lot of my golfing buddies that would play there if they brought the specials back. We won't be going back due to the price. It's a shame because it's a terrific golf course.

Good food, and good portions. Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their products. The restaurant was clean and current. We did not golf however; the course looked amazing. They had A/C but wasn't on. The main restaurant was humid and hot. But once we opened our window and felt the breeze it was ok.

First time playing the course. A solid choice with a few spectacular views. Hurricane devastated the old evergreens around the course but each of the holes were in excellent shape. Greens were some of the fastest and most challenging Ive played on in Atlantic Canada. Some difficult protected approaches too. Fairways excellent condition. Hardest hole by far seemed to be the 165 par 3 that was tight to coast - with a green that sloped down a hill in the front - nasty to play, but thrilling to attempt. Well managed and beautiful grounds. Would recommend.

Staying in the area a few weeks (from Edmonton), “home base” exploring all of Nova Scotia, PEI, NB. First had Deception Bay IPA at Wooden Monkey in Halifax (so cute, yummy pub food, great staff, check them out) and was stoked to visit and try other brews IRL. Everyone (I mean EVERYONE) inside is sooo friendly, knowledgeable and funny. On top of that — they make a stout I don’t actually mind! 😝 Seriously though, had a flight of 6 for $12 and each one I would drink again. Great atmosphere, cute town, nice patio. Only thing missing is food! 🙃 Maybe someday. Well worth it regardless for very tasty beer.

Stopped in for a flight. Staff were very friendly and helpful picking out the best 6 choices from the menu. Patio is nice too overlooking the street in the afternoon sun. We were rather disappointed with the beer however and neither one of us finished our glasses. The stout was very nice and so was the red ale, but the others had a strong aftertaste.
We had the absolute best experience for our first time in NB!!!! We drove in 15 minutes late to the 7pm lobster tale cruise and all the staff were incredibly patient and helpful to make sure we got on the boat before departing. The boat is decorated festively and it's lively but not crowded, and the view is gorgeous at sunset on the water from the second floor. Ron is a terrific guide and is hilarious while still being respectful, and so knowledgeable on lobster fishing practices and history! Everyone on our boat was also super friendly and we had a great time chatting with the diverse crowd of passengers while putting our newfound lobster cracking skills to the test :) Thank you for an unforgettable birthday!

Croisières Shediac Bay Cruises provided a good overall experience. While the service and atmosphere were enjoyable, it's worth noting that there isn't a wealth of sights to behold during the cruise. However, if you're seeking a relaxing time on the water with decent service, it can still be a worthwhile outing.

Took a nice cruise with Shediac Bay Cruises yesterday and absolutely loved it. The boat was huge and we weren't overcrowded. The price is quite reasonable and surprisingly inexpensive for the value and length of the trip. The captain was a real professional and took the time to provide some historical context. They even have a full bar. :) Definitely recommend this.

We had a lot of fun with really fresh delicious lobsters. The Captain is funny and entertaining. It is also very educational as we learned about lobster 101 and how to crack a lobster open, remove the meat from the claws, tail, body etc.. and eat very single part of it. It was surprisingly easy after we learned all the tricks.

Victoria Park is a true gem in the heart of the city. The lush green trees and beautiful waterfalls create a peaceful oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of daily life. I always feel rejuvenated after a visit to this park and highly recommend it to anyone in need of a little nature therapy. The walking trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of scenic routes to choose from. Overall, Victoria Park is a must-see for anyone visiting the area.

This is one of the greatest parks in the area and (in our opinion) the province - it just has so many amazing features like: hills, lookouts, staircases, gazebos, waterfalls, gorges, creeks and rivers, numerous trails, picnic areas, exercise area, and sports/play fields! Definitely worth visiting multiple times just due to the amount of various activities possible.

One of the most beautiful parks in Nova Scotia. Almost has a B.C vibe. Trails are tight in some places so keep a good grip on your dogs.

This park is about 130 years old. It’s a beautiful well maintained urban woodland park spans across 3000 acres. It has many boardwalks. These boardwalks make waterfalls Waddell and Howe are easily accessible and provide an exciting backdrop for photos of family and friends. It has washrooms but this park is not very wheelchair friendly.
Very tall pine trees and lots of squirrels and birds. It has a good parking lot and many entrances. If you are looking for some workout, you might wanna check out Jacob's ladder(147 steps) and some pull up bars at the top. All steps aren't the same size. It is open all year, but late spring and early summer would be ideal time to visit this park, as water levels would be at its highest. It is about a one and half hour drive from downtown Halifax. It's a beautiful and dynamic urban park. I love it for its natural features, including a dramatic steep-sided gorge, a winding river, cascading waterfalls, and a stately old-growth Eastern Hemlock forest. This place offers endless recreational, cultural and leisure opportunities. These include hiking, photography, birdwatching, day picnics, family gatherings, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, swimming, baseball, cultural events, live music, tennis, cycling and more.
If you are in Nova Scotia, and if you are a nature lover, I highly recommend going there.

Very well kept, be prepared for a lot of stairs if you want to explore the whole park. A lot of different trails you can explore. Cannot believe how beautiful and well kept the overall park is for the amount of people who visit. Climbing the stairs and walking along the trails up top have awesome views rather than just walking down below. Atleast two waterfalls to be seen as well.

Enjoyed the hike despite the cloudy drizzling weather. Visited Joe Howe Falls, the Waddell Falls and Wood Street Lookout.
The path to Five Corners was closed today, so we didn’t get to see it. If we visit Truro again next time, we will come back to the park to explore the other areas.
BTW, we were lucky to come across two deers during our hiking.

This place is Truro's best kept secret! What a lovely park with some lovely views of waterfalls. There are so many trail options that you could spend hours here. A few of the trails were damaged earlier this year in heavy rains so they were closed off until they can repair them, but even so, it was worth the time we took to stop and explore here. They also had lots of washrooms. Some of the stairs are a bit steep but they're not too bad if you just go slow and take your time.

I did not expect this place to be so amazing because it’s in the middle of the city! They have tons of trails and they were pretty easy to navigate, well maintained so you can easily spend a whole day here. There are picnic tables out in front and some places to set up inside the park as well. I loved the loops and the hikes. They were unique despite being in the middle of an urban area. Must try the loop around the dam. 5/5 recommend. It also has a biking trail but we didn’t go on it.

Lovely park with waterfalls, hiking trails, a playground for kids, and lots of greenery. Short walk to the waterfalls that is mostly accessible, just near the end there are a few tree roots that make it a bit more challenging for pushing a stroller. Waterfalls are pretty nice, not the biggest in the world but fun to see. The kids playground has a lot of nice swings including an adult and child swing so you can swing together with your kiddo. Lots of parking here, bathrooms, and spots to picnic.
Marta Borowska — Google review
Lovely park with no entry fee. You can get to the falls if you walk all the way to the end and avoid the stairs. The water looks pristine. Near the falls, you can actually go for a swim if you'd like. They just advise against diving or jumping.
Note that the stairs are a single beam of wood. These are very thin stairs. Take your time going up and down.
There are plenty of benches located throughout the park, so don't worry about needing to find a spot to catch your breath or to eat a snack.

This wonderful park, which has a beautiful stream and waterfalls, is perfect for a hike. While the damage from last year's post-tropical storm Fiona is still visible (see some of the pictures below), the gorgeous greenery is still quite impressive.

So happy we did the Baymount Outdoor Adventure kayaking at Hoepwell Rocks a few weeks ago. My 12yr old, husband and I went out at high tide and the tour did not disappoint. Weather was a bit overcast but warm....the water was warmer then I thought it would be. We were warned that waves were about 3ft before we went out but it was no problem for the tandem kayaks. Guides were very knowledgeable, interactive and fun. Probably the best experience out of our 2 week road trip to the East Coast. Would do it again in a heartbeat! Was also fun to go back the next morning and walk on the ocean floor where we had just been kayaking....huge difference in the experience.

I took the mid-tide excursion since it was the only one that fit my schedule. Unfortunately you don’t paddle between the rocks on this trip since the tide has already started to recede but you do get a beautiful view from the water of all of the coves and rock formations.
The kayaks are all doubles and I was alone and so I was paired up with a stranger who had no paddling experience at all. Consequently I worked hard paddling, steering, trying to listen to the info that the guides were giving and taking pictures. That was a real disappointment for me. I was hoping to be with a guide since I have a lot of kayaking experience but that didn’t happen.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant (mostly students) and I would like to make a special shout out to Sara who was particularly cheerful, attentive and concerned about everyone.
All in all, it was a nice outing and we had a beautiful day!

We were the only ones with two guides. Luckily we got to kayak through and around the rocks before the tide was too low. Guides were excellent and informative. Wishing we could have kayaked alittle longer but was a good experience.

It's been years since I went kayaking but it was easy to pick up again and the route you take isn't challenging. Lot's of photo opportunity and even wildlife too! Pictures of the birds was easy, pictures of the porpoise not so much. Cool to be joined by the porpoise though, didnt expect that at all.
Coming back and seeing how much the tide level had changed too was awesome.

This is the perfect way to see Hopewell Rocks and experience the Bay of Fundy tides! Baymount is a busy, well-organized operation (4-6 tours a day) staffed with friendly guides who really seem to enjoy the job and each other. The equipment is top-notch and well-maintained. Joel's humorous spiel during the safety briefing kept our attention. (Sara & Ethan were also great.) There are 3 or 4 guides per tour group, so you felt secure even in rough waters or tight squeezes. The informative guides previewed difficult areas, and explained tides, erosion, place names, etc with well-rehearsed, captivating stories and jokes. Be sure and take your phone for photos -- you can store it in your equipment while kayaking.
We hiked the ocean floor in the morning, left the park to go to Wacky Wonderful Waffles in Hillsborough for lunch, then returned for the high tide kayak. (Park admission is good for 2 days to make sure you can see high and low tide.) Highly recommend!

This was a really fun evening and a great way to experience Hopewell Rocks.
The guide was great and very knowledgeable about the area, and offered some fun trivia too. Paddling through the arches was very cool, then revisiting at low tide the next day to compare was mind boggling!
I would have liked the option of a spray skirt to stay dryer.
If you go in the evening in the summer ask for bug spray as soon as you get there!!! Listen! Don’t wait.

I had the most incredible time kayaking through the rocks with Baymount Outdoor Adventures. The high tide kayak as the tide dropped was so unique. If you are a Kayaker, or someone who physically can get into a Kayak and paddle, this is the absolute best way to see the Hopewell Rocks during high tide. The owner Shaun and Ashley Gibbs, are beyond enthusiastic about what they do, and make sure everyone in the group has an amazing time. The local knowledge they and their guides provide while on the tour are worth the cost alone. We can't say enough about how positive the experience was. And, their equipment is top notch, with each person receiving clean and dry safety equipment. Also, they are located inside of the Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park.

We really enjoyed this experience. Mat, Mat, Mat and Maddie were very informative, funny, helpful, and friendly. We went during High Tide. We were able to kayak under rocks that we just walked under earlier that day. I would recommend going on the earlier high tide tours as the water was already receding and we were unable to go under as many rock formations as we could have. The guides told us about different rock formations and the names of lots of rocks. I enjoyed learning about the different rocks as we came back the next day to look at them longer. I would also recommend bring a phone waterproof bag so you can take pictures. They provide you with a wet bag for things you want to take with you and also a locker from things that can stay in land. The kayaking was very easy and more like a tour. It was easy to keep up with everyone. There was a guide for the people in the front and for those in the back. The guides made sure no one missed any information.

I had never heard of mudsliding until we got to that mud covered beach but it was hilarious and surprisingly easy to slip down one of the self carved slopes and belly flop into cool water. I would recommend sitting at the front of the boat for the best experience (splash zone!) during the ride!

Gotdamm this is an amazing activity! The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable, and so are the staff.
This company goes earlier, stays later, and seems to have the best waves, and sense of timing. They are super fun, and probably should charge more than the competition, mostly because they are that much better.
Fred, I hope you read this, not only are you fun but your amazing. You made it extra fun, and were certainly very down to earth.
The only complaint I have is the water….. it’s too brown. Oh and the mud, it’s too dirty.

We had such a good time all day! I highly recommend getting the full 4 hours, so that you can see the whole phenomenon of the water rising and the explanation and everything! It was a huge part of our appreciation of the day! We were with Nina all day and she was wonderful! Thank you again for everything!😊
Our guides Bill & Vivianne were fantastic. They were extremely friendly & knowledgeable. The 2.5 hour bay of fundy ride itself was absolutely amazing and the horses were beautiful & very clearly well taken care of. All in all the experience exceeded my expectations by far! Would love to go back to Spirit Reins Ranch someday. Thanks again Bill :)

We had a party of 8 experienced riders and were privileged to do the sunset beach ride. It was incredible, and we highly recommend this to anyone wanting this as a bucket list ride.
The owner was with us, and was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the history of the area. Thanks so much for making our trip special. Janet and the Barraclough family.

This experience was amazing! I've alreay been to Hinton, BC and Port Colborn, ON but it was the best moments I've ever had. They lend me their hat and shoes which felt amazing, spent a long time on the beach, gave us a great history lessons about the area and gave us lots of tips to eat good food. Karen also took great pictures of my friend and I with the amazing background of the Bay of Fundy. Karen and Bill are super lovely and I'll definitely come back :)

My wife and I took the 4 hour ocean floor ride. It was amazing. Horses were health and well taken care of and Bill was an amazing guide. There were lots of flies so Bill changed the route and we did the 4 hours on the seafloor. An experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend to everyone with a little horseback riding experience.

I would come back again and again to experience this beautiful ranch!!
The Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum is a museum dedicated to telling the stories of Canadian and international pilots and aviation heroes. It has impressive aircraft, related weaponry, artifacts and simulators.
Amazing experience. It was not a big one but they have an impressive collection of planes in the hanger. You don't have to buy tickets before entry. The museum works on donation. Had a good time.
Jaipreet Hanspal — Google review
Great little place filled with tones of planes, plane engines and information. Admission was a donation but it was a great place all the volunteers were so knowledgeable and happy to take their time with you. The museum also has some interactive pieces such as a matching thrilled to look at all the engines on display. Nice gift shop too with lots of model plane kits. Great place to learn all about aviation !!

I came in with my friends to check out the museum, my friends have been here before but I had not been, we were greeted right away and had a good chat, with details about the museum layout, exhibits and the location of services in the building, and offered personalized information for the visit.
The museum surprised me with just how many awesome displays they crammed into this space, I unfortunately neglected to take many photos, so you'll have to visit for yourself, it's worth it.
Along with the cool historical displays, this museum is also home to a large hobby/model shop, something I never delved into growing up, but they had low prices so I had a nice talk with the gentleman running the model shop, and eventually was tempted to try it out and picked up some cool plane models to build, along with advice from the workers for assembly.
Great museum with very passionate and knowledgeable staff, and a cool hobby shop incorporated. I will be visiting again soon.

Free for July and August, it worth it !
A lot of airplanes, helicopters and airplane motors. It was so cool.
Planned an hour, easily, to visit the museum.
The only negative point is the shop, they don't have enough RCAF stuff 🤷♀️

Super interesting spot to stop in Halifax/Dartmouth area. Two minutes from the airport. Good parking and washrooms. Excellent volunteer staff (including knowledgeable retired commercial pilots). Large selection of models for sale, new and refurbished.

Nice place to go when you wait for flight or just drive by, as it has quite a collection and few visitors there.
Learn that Halifax airport took most diverted flights in 911 terror attack. I always thought it was Newfoundland airport but...
Bought 3 plane models to support the museum: they have a big collection or inventory of plane models, either for display or for assembly.

One of the highlights of our trip. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They have an incredible selection of model plane kits. The hangar is beautiful and there is lots to read and explore. Plenty of things for the kids to stay interested too.

A really nice museum! Way more to it than appears when driving by. The volunteer who greeted us was nice and friendly, and really knew his stuff. In the future, we would love to see a feature on women in aviation ✈️

It’s free to visit here but they do recommend you to donate $8 per person for the museum’s maintenance and renovations. It’s wonderful to pick one of delicate air-model to master your patience at home. There are tons of air-models for sale with both no tax and 10% off due to non-profits institution. In addition, the museum only open to the public on Saturday. Don’t hurry to buy model on weekdays !😉

Highly recommended for every aviation fan in the area!
For its relatively small size with only two hangars, this museum has quite a lot of aircraft to show (more than 20!).
A mix between civil and military craft, most from 1960-1980 and also many additional items, pictures and (local) stories.
The staff is very friendly and clearly consists of dedicated aviation fans!
Entry is for free but donations are very welcome and there is also a huge collection of model aircraft kits to purchase (also very rare ones already out of production).

I wasn't plan to come and it was a last minute idea to kill time. It was an eye opener and we really enjoying looking at all the aviation history. Btw this place is not free and there is an suggested donation of 8 dollar per person.
It’s the longest and my favorite beach in Nova Scotia. It’s sandy, and amazing. Great place for beach combing and hiking. Has a little woody area at the end where you get to see many birds. Best time for a hike would be during low tides.

What a fantastic place, water was warm, not crowded. Warm sand on your toes. Perfect day
Mary Mcfarland — Google review
Compared to some of the other beaches in Nova Scotia I would give this a 3 to maybe a 3.5 at the most. It is quite picturesque when it comes to taking photos as there are larger waves crashing into the shore. It is considered to be one beach but it is really like there are really two separate beaches at this location. The first one is much smaller and nicer in my opinion as it did not have a lot of smaller stones on the beach. The sand is also quite nice, but on the larger beach ( or 2nd one you come to) there are quite a lot of smaller stones making it challenging to enjoy a walk in the sand with your bare feet, and of course the unavoidable seaweed which haunts most beaches. The sand is nice and it is a very long beach so worth while checking out, but not my favorite. It is no doubt Nova Scotia longest beach, but not the best I have seen.

Hope For Wildlife
Wildlife rescue service
Nature & Parks
The wildlife rescue service Hope For Wildlife helps save animals who would otherwise die. They are a wonderful group of people who do amazing work and are very welcoming. When we visited they had a number of animals in their care, including a baby pigeon that had been found on our husband's job site. We are so grateful for their help and can't recommend them enough!
We got to experience one of their lovely open house days and I can't say enough wonderful things about the amazing work they do and the wonderful people who help make it happen. We were lucky enough to meet Hope who is just so sweet and kind. A few weeks later my husband found a lone baby pigeon and was able to call in Hope for Wildlife to come to its rescue. Without them the poor baby would have died. We are so grateful for the service they do. (The final photo I added is of the baby pigeon found at my husband's job site. He is now safe with Hope.)

Excellent, personalized tour. Guide was friendly, knowledgeable about the area, pointed out extra sights and tips and gave us plenty of time to enjoy Peggy's Cove, Swissair 111 Memorial Site and the "Titanic" cemetery. My friend and I took the Peggy's Cove tour and it was my favorite of the entire cruise. Our tour leader Laila, was on time, and her directions to find her were easy. She was energetic and had great information about our "tour of death and destruction" in the Halifax area. She used a microphone so everyone inside the van was able to hear her. The van was clean and not over crowded. She had a fun game for us to play too. We ate a Lobster roll for lunch at a local restaurant. We learned about the history of the area. Everything about the tour was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Halifax area!

We booked a tour with Go North Tours in 2019. We were picked up on time and the transportation was comfortable. Unfortunately we felt rushed the entire day and there was no flexibility to spend time to enjoy the wineries. We were also repeatably told the guide had to get home to feed their dog. We appreciate Go North Tour’s knowledge but it was a very rigid tour and not one we would recommend to a group look for a fun and relaxed experience.

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Laila on our wine tour. She is extremely knowledgeable about the region and all it has to offer. The vinyard/wineries that we visited were outstanding with personal service and a very friendly atmosphere, plus excellent wine tasting and a superb lunch. All in all a great experience and I would highly reccomended to anyone who is interested in a friendly, professional and well organized tour.

The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax showcases Nova Scotia's maritime history from the fishery to World War II. There is an emphasis on boats and vessels, from small crafts to warships. Various exhibits explore different aspects of Nova Scotia's seafaring past, such as sailing days for early explorers to steam-powered boats. The museum also has a permanent exhibit about the Titanic disaster with artifacts and dozens of photos. It is open year round.
Loved the museum!
Lots of interesting stuff for kids and adults.
The only disappointment was that we could visit the CSS Acadia.
Apparently, it is open only on Tuesdays, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm and Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 to 4:30 pm. 🤷♀️
If you have a chance, jump on a group tour about the Titanic.
Our guide was incredible!
The most entertaining guided tour we ever had.
Outside is a good kids' playground.

This museum was pretty good. Interesting stuff on the Titanic and Halifax disaster. On the second floor, there was a small theatre that played those Canadian Heritage commercials (on loop) from like twenty years ago. Such a walk down memory lane from my childhood.

Total enjoyed the Maritime Museum! So much history, it was busy, the items are so interesting. Would love to return. The Titanic section was so interesting as was the Halifax explosion.

I appreciate the efforts of so many to provide slices of history and other nautical information to the museum! I rarely get there, but I'm so glad to be greeted by that glowing lighthouse light. I've enjoyed it since I was little. Viewing William Hall's cross; looking at more details about the Halifax Explosion, and even checking out a Sable Island monitoring station scavenger, were unforgettable highlights. Get over when you're able. Museum passes are very good for curiosity-quenching times.

Really great museum. The employees are full of knowledge for all your questions, especially Titanic and the harbour explosion. They have a blue macaw named Merlin and he is a ginormous sweetheart. He likes to nap in the afternoon, but he will chat with you if you approach him right. Sorry to spend so much time on the parrot, he was such a darling so no ragerts.

This place was such a cool find!! I need to start by saying the people who work here were fantastic, greeted you with a smile and so friendly!! I was excited to come and see the Titanic exhibit and didn't really know what else to expect from the experience. I ended up loving the entire museum start to finish. They have a few great spots in there for some fun photo ops and a little observation deck up top overlooking the gorgeous waterfront. Tickets were priced right and we even got to wish Merlin the parrot a happy birthday! Check it out if you are in the area.
Pam Ricci — Google review
There are 2 floors to the museum. When you enter, there's a information display to your left that talks about the history of the building that houses the museum. In front of you is where you pay for your admission. Adult admission is $9.55.
The day we went, they were showing a special short 11 min film about the Titanic: The Halifax Story between 11 am to 12 pm on the second floor in their mini theatre.
There's another movie that plays. About the Bluenose. Another movie called Sable Island plays, 28 min. They seem to show different movies, with different times. I caught the tail end of the Bluenose movie. The last movie today is Sable Island. The museum workers show movies on days that are particularly busy, to thin out the crowds in the exhibits.
The walking onto the deck of the CSS Acadia wasn't open, cause of the rainy weather.
On the ground floor, there's a person working on assembling model ships.
There are lots of model ships. There is history here about the Halifax Explosion. There is a Indigenous exhibit. They have a parrot in a cage here named Merlin.
The second floor has history about the Titanic and Nova Scotia shipwrecks. Artefacts of the Titanic can be found in the displays. And a lot of model ships. There's an area about sailing as well.bthe floorboards creak very loudly- I assume to mimic the creaky floorboards of an actual ship.
The day we went, it got pretty busy as time passed. We spent about 5 hours here. Surprisingly a good museum. Was much more than we expected.

Neat place. Loved the models, especially. They were so intricately detailed. You could tell that a lot of time and effort had gone into their restoration, which was done by a group of volunteers! It was absolutely amazing to see.

This should be on the "must-see" list of all visitors to Halifax. As the oldest and biggest maritime museum in Canada, it provides an excellent history of Halifax, as well as seafaring in general. You can see exhibits that range from the sinking of the Titanic, to the Halifax explosion of 1917, a history of the Mi'kmaq indigenous people, and the children's TV show Theodore Tugboat, which was inspired by Halifax.
The observation deck, meanwhile, offers gorgeous views of the waterfront (see videos below), while I also enjoyed the replica that let's you feel like you are sailing on a ship (see video below)

I am no museum expert. I had meh expectations going in to this place. But I was very much delighted by this place. So much rich history all explain and very nicely laid out.
From the Halifax explosion to shipwrecks to the titanic. Very well done and enjoyable. Never thought being educational would be a huge positive but this place just kept you want more. Spent easily a couple hours here. A very large collection of very intricate models are all around. Fascinating to think of all the work out into those. Absolutely worth the money.
Great place for adults and kids. Nice gift shop inside as well. I bought a shirt. No review on the shirt yet.

Definitely one of the coolest museums I've been to. I've never been to a maritime museum, but have always wanted to go. Interesting even for the kids. So much information on boats, shipwrecks, the Halifax disaster, and the Titanic. Many artifacts from the Titanic at this location. Really enjoyed the room with all of the sailboats. There is a ship outside that you can tour as well, however it was closed when we wanted to tour it. Two floors of information. You could spend at least 4+ hours here. We spent about 2 hours and definitely did not get through it all. Lots to learn about!

This museum has gone through some impressive upgrades since the last time I went. This time we went for the Titanic exhibit. Would recommend checking it out. The balcony overlooking the waterfront is worth going to for great views of the harbour and the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk.

What an amazing gem of a museum! It took me over 2 hours to get through the exhibits and I learned so much about the local maritime history. The cost is very reasonable. Wouldn’t appeal as much to younger children as it’s very reading heavy - would be even more incredible with some more interactive exhibits.

The Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk is a popular tourist attraction in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The boardwalk has a wide variety of restaurants and shops, as well as attractions like the Halifax Waterfront Ballpark. It's a lively and busy place that's great for family fun.
Walking the waterfront is my favourite thing to do in Halifax. The boardwalk is incredibly accessible and full of history, beautiful views and great food. My friends and I spent the day on Halifax waterfront. It was gorgeous weather, so the walk along the front was lovely, just looking at the sculptures and chatting to a friendly police officer. We visited Pier 21. The Maritime museum was great, particularly the Titanic exhibition. We did a harbour tour on a small, electronic boat. Unfortunately the brewery was shut that day, but we ate at The BG, which was buzzing that day. Fabulous!

It’s a great place to chill out, taking in the sights. You can access to its long, beautiful boardwalk from ample parking spots nearby. There are many benches to stop, appreciating the Dartmouth skyline with some boats sailing. I, personally, haven’t seen any cruise ships yet, but there are always many things to see. Also, you can always have a variety of options regarding what to eat.

Awesome place to spend hours strolling the boardwalk along the harbourfront. A great selection of shops and pop up tents selling their wares. Ships and sailboats to observe, buskers, face painters, caricaturists, henna artists, etc populate the boardwalk.
Phil Vania — Google review
Wonderful boardwalk with ships, restaurants, park spaces and great views on clear days. Bring an umbrella regardless of weather; “cloudy” means being in a cloud with drizzling rain, “Sunny” means enough direct sunlight and heat that you’ll be happy for the shade.
Boards are close set and smooth enough for a stroller and dogs. Park area has musical instrument stops and activities painted on the ground for kids. Each dock has surprisingly comfortable seats for taking in the view.
Enough options for lobster rolls and steamed mussels that you never have to have it now because it’ll be on the menu everywhere. “Cow’s ice cream” was great. “Harbor hopper tours” was fun; not much historic information about Halifax but still a good time and the kids loved it.

This is one of the most beautiful waterfronts i have seen. People may say different but it depends on what you like. Day or night this place has sl much to offer for me. In the evening it comes alive. Great eateries and pubs and then there's always time for a Timmy's (Tim Hortons). At night the twin towers at Purdy's wharf take on a ghostly appearance. Sunsets behind the silhouetted road bridges can be spectacular. A truly wonderful city.

The Halifax Waterfront is a great boardwalk with beautiful views around. The ferry station is right there if you want to get to the other side of the harbor. There are locations to get on the local bus or the tour buses that roam the area. There are a lot of places to shop and eat between the Casino and the train station. Overall, the Halifax Waterfront is a beautiful place to spend time with enough around to occupy your day.

Stopped here on our last day in Nova Scotia. It was very nice and built out. Lots of beautiful views, benches, and even hammocks. I was a little disappointed with how many places were closed on a Sunday evening in October, but maybe I was just too late in the season. I recommend hoping in a ferry ride to get a nice tour of the area for cheap. There were a number of people that seemed to be very drunk walking around which was strange. Other than that, a very nice experience.

Also well maintained during the winter months means it is easily accessible all year round.

A most interesting place to spend a morning. Great snacking options. The fish and chips at Katch was surprisingly delicious. I say "surprisingly" as I expected it to be too oily. It was far from that.
Visiting the couple of ships on display was a peep into the maritime history of Nova Scotia.
A ride on the amphibious vehicle was also a very unique experience.

There is so much to do and see, give yourself plenty of time and you could spend days there and not see everything. There are things for every age group. The number of restaurants is endless. You will find restaurants for casual cheap dining to high-end restaurants serving the best seafood in the world. There is so much for the kids to do and see. Ice cream that is out of this world especially the fog company and Cows. I know it doesn't sound like ice cream but it is. You can view the tall ships, the Corvette warship, rent jet skis, bike rentals, it is endless. While all this costs money, you can go there on a low budget and still have a great day.

So, so many things to see and do. I had an awesome lunch, watched live music and saw a cruise ship leave the harbour. I feel like it is such a bustling place that you could spend hours and not get bored. Loved it!

I was very happy to discover this place. I didn't know about it, nor how long it is. Here you will find many shops, restaurants, bistros, services, monuments, museums, harbors and interesting places. It has a great atmosphere and you should definitely go through it, it's not that long.

Lovely place to unwind after a day or you can start your day watching an amazing foggy sunrise and enjoying white noise of water and seagulls. Cute photo spots and lots of fresh air. I can recommend also trying out boat tours when you are here.

A calm and quiet place to spend time with your family or friends especially in the mornings and evenings. Halifax's waterfront offers a memorable stroll, surrounded by the city's dazzling ocean, a functioning port, and a variety of year-round shops and artists. It was a wonderful experience for me.

Nice area to walk, found a great look out built almost like a tiered seating area. Lots of restaurants and mini play areas for kids along the way. Cute Christmas market Nov-dec. I was surprised at how many stalls sold local artisan alcohol. 2023

When the weather is favourable this city centre is attraction the place to be. Comfortable chairs line the waterfront. They are free to use and a great place to sit and contemplate whatever you choose. Numerous food stalls and restaurants provide the hungry with foods from around the world and a range of prices that range from reasonable to ridiculous.
Plenty of history to read about on the many storyboards located along the walkways.
Well worth the visit and a revisit.
The Halifax Citadel National Historic Site is a star-shaped hilltop fort that offers guided tours and a coffee bar & gift shop. It is located in the city of Halifax and has been part of Canada's national parks system since it was created in 1749. The fortress has been used to defend the city from attack, and today, it is popular with ghost tour participants who can hear tales of bizarre legends on one of the citadels popular ghost tours.
A must visit of you are in the city. Be there before 12 noon to watch the noon gun firing! Lots of historic buildings, great ity views and very nice guided tour provided. The museum inside the fort has a lot of interesting artifacts, uniforms and a huge variety of guns covering different eras. Nice gift shop too. You can easily spend 3-4 hours to see everything.

Definitely one of the most popular things to do in Halifax! Highly recommend arriving around 11:00 a.m. as this will allow you to see the canon fired at noon and the changing of the guard at 1:00 followed shortly by a musket demonstration. We found that this was perfect timing. There are lots of History college students who are employed to tell you about the area so questions are easily answered. Also fun that they are dressed in time period attire. If you will plan on watching the canon, instead of lining up right next to it I would suggest going across the way. The explosion is still enough for you to feel and you will get a much better view. However, you will not be able to hear the explanation of what is going on that is given by one of the employees.

The people who work here are very knowledgeable and you can learn a lot from them. They also have soldiers who wear the traditional wool outfits and honestly bless them. It’s so hot and they have to wear all this gear in such hot weather. Some interactive spots and there is one area which is air conditioned. Would recommend going to the bathroom prior to coming as there a few bathrooms. Fill up a water bottle and watch your step.

Excellent experience! The Halifax Citadel Society does a phenomenal job of presenting the history of not only the citadel but also the Halifax Harbour and area. The young people who work here are very knowledgeable in interpreting the history and talented in displaying the military drill and firearms. The piping band played on and off and sounded incredible and just set the tone. The exhibits were very well put together and there were many hands on activities to learn a lot. I absolutely loved my visit and could've spent more time but had to catch the ferry back to Dartmouth (which is also a great experience)!

For a Labour Day Monday, it wasn’t too busy.
The concept of the site is quite intriguing. A fair amount of history behind in.
In terms of location, it’s right downtown so very easy to get to.
I really enjoyed the war museum, lots of great artifacts, weaponry and interesting stories I wasn’t aware of from WW1 and WW2.
I do wish there were a bit more self-guided tour options though. I think there was a map we could have used but the ticket sale team didn’t really seem to tell us much. The interactive ‘kiosks’ I did see on the museum didn’t seem to be working anyways.

Much visit if you are interested in the history of Halifax harbour and old fort built to defend Halifax port. There is an army museum inside the citadel. Three times a day there are guided tours to explain different parts of the citadel.

You can spend at least 3 hours here visiting this incredible historic site with its city views. There are regular displays and instances of what life was like here under colonial British rule. You can see the changing of the guard and watch troop drills in full historical accurate costumes .
There is a very interesting museum with loads of interesting facts and stories. There's a lovely Cafe which you can take what will be a welcome break after walking the ramparts. Probably more interesting for us men or boys. Suggest the ladies go shopping 🥺

Such a nice experience. I'm glad I went and visited. There's so much history.....I didn't take the guided tour but I read, read, and read when I was in the museum. (I would suggest the ticket counter provide information regarding the time of the guided tour, because I would gladly join)
The historical background of the cidatel is so interesting, this tour has enabled me to understand Nova Scotia in a profound way.

It's easy to see why this is THE signature attraction of Halifax. As first-timers to the city, this was first on the list - we were all enthused to see Canadian history unfold before us as we climbed the steps up the hill. The actors are very much into what they do, and the exhibits are very detailed. It even has a special exhibit on the D-day landing, as we know several vessels left Halifax for the event. We stayed for the 12noon cannon blast, which was spectacular. Even when leaving the fortress, we once again admired the view out over Halifax - you can't beat this place for the perfect panoramic vista!

Beautiful tourist spot. There are many rooms with historical monuments, museum exhibits and movie theaters. You can learn a lot of history about Halifax from its very beginnings. The staff fulfills their duties and tries to make the arrival here as comfortable as possible. Sometimes they show the preparation for firing a cannon. There are usually many willing, take good places to watch. Everything is safe and within the permitted limits. Don't forget to bring earplugs. A cannon shot is quite loud. Tickets are not expensive, you can spend time with your family and learn a lot of interesting things. Parking is available, paid additionally.

Wow. Amazing citadel with guided or self tours. The staff is wearing period clothing and noon canon firing. Very interesting museum and exhibits. Fun day for families, picnics, and history.

Interesting history around Halifax and the Citadel. In the information center runs a film in English and French. Unfortunately, the sound did not work for us.
In the citadel you can walk through different stations. With children certainly a very nice attraction.
The entrance fee for an adult I find a bit expensive. Here you could improve, then probably more visitors would come.

Fun watching all the drills. The "soldiers" walking around demonstrating the marching, formations, and weapons was cool. We saw a rifle demonstration where a soldier fired three shots very quickly, and were present for the noon cannon firing. The tour was good and worth the price. Tours run in English and in French.

Citadel is the place where the city was first formed. After centuries, it is now a museum and famous tourist place in the city. Being a resident of the city, I got the opportunity to visit it multiple times. The place comes to life during summer when flocks of tourists visit the charming place. This is the time when the museum is open, guards are present, and one needs to purchase entry ticket of 8.5 CAD (not needed if you have a Discovery pass). Winter is more timid. Not many activities except the noon canon during this time. That also means it is open for all without a ticket but you don't get the flavour since nothing inside is open. Over and all, a must visit place for everyone visiting downtown. Careful if you visit during mid day and with a kid. The noon canon is really loud.

The fort was awesome. It was full of interesting sights and informative displays. The staff was very knowledgable and friendly. One of the highlights was that of the bagpiper playing haunting melodies at various times throughout the day. They also had a partial recreation of D-Day from a Canadian soldier's perspective.

This place is much more fun than I expected! I loved the immersive experience I had while observing the soldiers playing drums/bagpipes and shooting their guns. There are two museums with lot of history with a great quantity of artifacts. I spent around 3:30h walking around and I could visit it all. Cheers for the female soldiers! Recommend!

One of the oldest citadels in Canada, the citadel of Halifax, should be on top of the list of the places to visit when you're in town. The area is huge with lots of exhibitions on the history of the military and the city itself there. Expect to spend at least two hours to get the most of what the place has to offer.

This is a must see when in Halifax. The price for an adult is $12.50. If you are going, I would suggest being there for noon because everyday they fire off a cannon except Christmas. There is so much to see. The history from WW1 all the way to the recent wars in Afghanistan is incredible. There is so much to see and learn. There is so much to learn and to see how things have changed over the years. The most amazing thing for me was the Juno Beach display. I actually felt like I was there and it gave me a real understanding what the allied troops went through fighting the Germans. Give yourself plenty of time to visit the barracks and everything this place has to offer.

We were in Halifax for one day only. We walked from the cruise terminal to the Citadel, which on occasions was quite steep.
It's actually a pleasant walk past some more historical properties.
8 dollars entrance fee with under 18's free.
Well worth the time and cost. We were there approximately 1.5 hours; we could have stayed longer, but as it was a short trip, we wanted to see other places too.
On the hour the bagpipes were played which was wonderful. Staff were dressed in period costumes and shared information.
The museum has a nice layout and is full of interesting history, which is very well presented.
Highly recommend.
Some nice views, too.
Free WiFi, but was slightly flaky.

Amazing exhibits. Be sure to see the newest one right of the information center. When we went there we realized the narration was much better and we enjoyed how interactive it was but alas we were short on time. Change of guards, the pipe show was fun. And views were spectacular.

I found the museum in the main building much more interesting than the big gun going off or watching the teenagers in period costumes marching around the grounds. The museum has relics and artifacts from the Canadian military from wars past, war trophies from soldiers, and more curiosities to learn from as well. I found that area the most fascinating. Take your time and enjoy it.

My husband and I came in ‘shoulder season’ so there wasn’t a full time table of re-enactments or activities, but that was ok.
Lots to see and do as you explore the timeline for the French and British rule in the area, you can easily spend half a day or more here.
Very friendly volunteers and staff that are happy to answer any questions you may have.
It would have been good to have some sort of sign posts / direction to let you know a recommendation on where to walk round and in what direction so you make sure you see everything.
If you have a Parks Canada Pass then it’s free entry.

The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is a national historic site that both houses an epic wedding venue and has temporary and interactive exhibits on immigration. The museum has four spaces that can easily be transformed to fit your wedding theme, and it's also home to permanent exhibits on the history of immigration in Canada.
We went here somewhat on a whim, and we were very pleasantly surprised. Such a moving experience. The displays are pretty interactive and interesting. Probably one of the best museum Canadian experiences I've had. So much to learn about Canadian immigration history. The most incredible parts were the places where people hand wrote notes about their personal or family experiences of immigration (e.g., parents, grandparents) and posted them on boards for others to read. Had me tearing up reading about generational struggles, poverty, war, persecution, and how much Canadian citizenship has changed the lives of so many people the past century. Helps you realize how much those born here (including myself) take so much for granted.

An interesting place with a huge number of historical artifacts. Each exhibit has proof and explanation. Lots of multimedia screens for self-study of the exhibition. The premises are clean, spacious, with soft lighting, plenty of seating. Guided exhibitions are held at certain hours. There are places where you can leave outerwear. Most of the exhibits can be interacted with. A wonderful place that keeps the history of Canadian immigrants. I advise you to visit.

There's a cafe on the ground floor beside where you buy the admission. And there's a gift shop as well. The admission was about $15 for adults.
There's a movie theater and there's a guided tour on the second floor. The movie has English and in French being spoken and subtitles. There are 2 tour guides: an English one, and a French one. The tour guide is knowledgeable and informative. The "In Canada" documentary was good.
There is history of all sorts of immigrants that went through Pier 21. There's information about the immigrants throughout the history of Canada.
When we went, they had a Chinese immigration exhibition. And there was a Indigenous exhibition beside it.
The museum was good to learn about Canada's history of immigration and how the government handled things. Come here to learn more about Canada's history.

I've enjoyed my time here. The staff members are friendly, the 22-min documentary is touching and inspiring, and the view of the water and lighthouse is beautiful. I've spent times reading the stories from people who've made the extremely brave decision to come to Canada, and also the messages from their family and friends. The stories really moved me. I hope everyone and their loved ones get to pursue and live the lives they deserved.🧡

Stopped here while visiting the farmers market next door. They give yours every hour in French or English. I don’t typically enjoy guided tours, preferring to explore on my own but decided to give it a shot. The tour guide was extremely well versed in the history of Pier 21 and kept the tour interactive. Very well done. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn about Canada and how immigration shaped the country.

Canadian Museum of Immigration is truly a unique museum that shows the history of Immigration in the country from the 18th century to the current era. There are two main halls on the second floor. One hall is where you can explore on your own, and in the other hall, a guide will take you through the place, and very good insight is given on different aspects of the Immigration process. The best part of my visit was the tour given to our group by Nadia. She very well integrated her own personal story during the tour and kept everyone in the group engaged.
Whether you are an immigrant yourself or not, this museum has a lot to offer about the history of what has made Canada what it is today. Don't forget to watch the film after the tour.

I learned about the British war (WW2 Canadian soldier romances with British girls) brides from Canada's perspective. How imigration has been from different regions at different time. Most harrowing was the story of the M.S. St. Louis cruise ship Jewish immigrants sent back to Europe, and thier death by Nazism.
Hilary P — Google review
Portrays the emotional journey of immigration well, and that’s about it. Briefly touches on all the nuances and complexities of Canadian immigration history, and overly emphasizes the feel good stories. Real loss in reflection and education with lacking details and depth of complex and sometimes painful Canadian history. The brief moments of nuanced historical moments was only brief enough to know you aren’t going to be given a balanced and full historical picture here at the museum.
Of course a museum doesn’t have to be about activism, but balanced historical detail is welcomed; this was unfortunately missing.
Good guided tours though. You can walk through the entire museum in depth in 1.5-2 hours depending on your reading speed. You’re able to exit the museum and return with the same ticket.

The Missus and I along with our Maritimes travelling group found the museum very informative and educational as we were first and second generation Canadians.
The museum is spread over two floors covering the immigration into Canada of peoples from throughout the world starting from the 1800's and to date. The exhibits were well displayed with artifacts, photographs and digital presentations. On the first floor, there was a resource centre that can trace your ancestor's history entering into Canada prior to 1935. We were able to find information relating to a grandfather. It was a very humbling feeling to be standing in the same building where people with difficult backgrounds in their homelands who immigrated to Canada to start a new life.
There is an admission fee along with guided tours for those who wish. Highly recommend for a learning experience.

Very interesting museum on immigration, we were amazed to see how many different countries used Halifax as an immigration port. There were some interesting stories, and guests could add their families' stories with notes on various walls. It was worth a visit and especially if you had family that came here from another country.

This museum moved me. As someone who immigrated to Canada as a boy, the exhibits reminded me of how I felt moving to a strange, new land where I had to learn a new language.
For me, this museum offers an honest view of the immigrant experience in Canada. You will hear stories of immigrants like me who see Canada as a beacon of hope, while also learning about some dark chapters in Canada’s history that were filled with racism. Intertwined with these tales, you can experience what it was like to cross the ocean by sea to reach Canada, and then for those heading further west to travel by train.
It's definitely worth a visit if you want to learn more about Canada’s immigration history.
The Halifax Central Library is a beautiful five level glass structure which reflects the diversity and modern life within the Halifax region. It also has regular free events, and two cafes. The library is located downtown, and is home to lots of comfy couches and a fantastic view from the 5th floor Living Room.
Beautiful new library with tons of spots to sit/study/read. It looks like there are tons of media materials/computers too, not just books. There's even a rooftop terrace! If I lived in Halifax I'd be here every day.

"A modern book citadel"
From the outside the building looks modern and very beautiful, but when I first came in I didn’t expect that I would be surprised inside either. An intersection of stairs, a protruding reading zone on the top floor, a small cafeteria and an exit to the roof (closed in winter) next to it. An unusual library style for me.
Just like in the library not far from our house, there are computers to sit and do your business. Computers to register/check your profile and books with different languages, various rooms for classes, including small rooms that can be occupied for some kind of meeting I assume. Everything is in greater volume than in other branches... and of course a lot more books.
This place was a little disconcerting in a pleasant way.
And of course the staff here is very polite and pleasant to talk to.

Beautiful library with five full levels to explore. Located centrally in downtown Halifax and accessible by many bus routes. Due to Covid, there are more safety protocols in place such as no food or beverages and having to wear a mask the whole time. However, it is still a wonderful place to visit just to see the architecture and be engrossed in the scent and sight of books of every kind. Head on up to the fifth floor reading area to people watch the passerby’s on Spring Garden Road and take in a great view of the city.

This place was hopping - literally the busiest place in all of Halifax. How friggin awesome is a town where the library is where it's at? (To be fair, lots of people on the boardwalk too but felt like mostly tourists there). 15 minute moderate walk up the hill from the port. Fun modern exterior design and open and airy interior space. Great wall of little paintings, multiple rooftop (indoor and outdoor) reading areas with rooftop gardens (green roof). Stairs and elevators (surprisingly no escalators). Free public restrooms. Way to go Halifax!

The library and the staff themselves are great! Never had a problem with them and they’re always there to help with anything. I also love the open design (although when there are live performances downstairs it echoes a bit too much across the building and disrupts focus). My problem with this location is that it’s almost impossible to find a seat with an outlet nearby so if you work with a personal device that needs to charge you can’t come here. People will sit at the outlet spots all day sometimes and half the time they’re not even there to work or study. Lately I haven’t even been able to find a place to sit at all. I would say it’s more of a hangout spot than a library.

First pieces of ID we got when we moved to Nova Scotia were our driver’s licenses and library cards. The Ampersand Cafe located on the top floor of Halifax Public Library Central branch has seating indoors and on the rooftop patio (if not too windy) with sweeping views of downtown, harbour and shipyard. Take the circular stairs (or elevator) down to visit the cool collections and spaces (some available for public rental) on each floor. It features manicured lawns and gardens that have been used for weddings and photo shoots, as well as being a great spot to relax and people-watch. The gardens include a variety of plants from different climates which line the paths.
With a beautiful garden such as the Halifax Public Gardens, I honestly don’t understand why Halifax isn’t a bigger travel destination than it is. If you are seeking a serene experience in the middle of the hustle and bustle this is the perfect place to stop by!
Everywhere you look you are surrounded by beauty here. From the tree lined pathways, the flower designs, pond, gazebo or even the water fountain that has been there since Queen Victoria 👸 There is so much for the eyes to capture.
Kids will love it here too as there are ducks, fish and other critters for them to get excited about here.
I do recommend taking the time to read the various signs that explain the rich history of these gardens. There are even signs that explain the various trees and vegetation around the garden too.
Street parking can be a bit scarce, but there is underground parking near the main entrance that is relatively inexpensive. We paid $6 for 3 or 4 hours.
I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to experience these gardens.

Some of the beds were still waiting to be planted, but the grounds are quite beautiful, with the pond being a great feature. I liked how the trees were labeled as well. Great place to stroll with a coffee before starting your day.

When you are visiting Halifax definitely try to spend some time in public garden. This is a Victorian style garden. You will find beautiful statues, fountain, lots of flowers and trees. Refreshes your mind and soul.

Don't miss this public garden. It's amazing. Was one of the stops on our hop on hop off bus tour. Easy paths with beautiful plants and flowers. Restroom at front and seating throughout the garden. Also has a small Cafe.

December, lovely place for a walk and a quiet rest while in the city. Many benches with pretty views and a bit of wildlife. Can you spot the otter by the water's edge?

Very beautiful and serene garden. You are transported to the 1800s with is Victorian style gardens. You are welcomed with with a rich sweet aromas of flowers that pulls you further into the center to be surprised with a series of paths, fountains and beautifully manicured landscapes. The Dalia's garden was amazing and showcased the beauty of these beautiful flowers.

One of my favourite places in the city. Well maintained, a lovely atmosphere, and extra gorgeous during dahlia season!!

It is definitely the most beautiful garden in Hslifax, and probably one of the most beautiful in Canada. It is very popular with locals, is very well maintained, and there are posts with the names of flowers written, so you can actually learn about the flower you are seeing.
The park was built in the second half of the nineteenth century and has been kept in the same Victorian style.

Nice park in the middle of the city, wish we had more time to walk through it. Lots of flowers in the summer and green grass. There’s a body of water and lots of trees and pathways. There’s a water fountain, some statues, and it’s a gated park. Quaint location. Parking is free after 6PM around the park.
Acadian Maple Products is a must-visit destination in New Brunswick for maple enthusiasts. The farm shop offers an array of maple products, including the renowned maple syrup, which the province produces in large quantities annually. Visitors can explore various items such as maple butter, coffee beans, cookies, and even maple-infused alcoholic beverages. The friendly staff provides a warm welcome and allows visitors to sample different products before making a purchase. Additionally, the store offers reasonable prices compared to typical tourist shops.
It was my first time visiting this store, and I drove from Halifax to go to it. They had many Maple Syrup products and other things. Quality was good, and prices were a little high.

Stopped by on a road trip to Nova Scotia. We love the maple walnut coffee beans for at-home coffee! Staff also recommend to try the maple crunch cookie and to-go coffee, which were great options on the road around Halifax and the southern shore. Will come back again once it’s safe to.

Stopped here after a visit to Peggy's Cove. They have a great selection of maple syrup and related items. The maple butter was amazing. The owners were extremely friendly and answered our questions and even shipped our items home to the USA. Why chance packing maple syrup in your checked in luggage?? And the prices in the store are significantly lower than in the tourist shops.
Thanks for making the visit so memorable! I'm sure we'll be ordering more from you in the future.

Your source for all things maple. They offer a great selection with plenty of samples to taste. Nice, friendly and welcoming staff. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. They have what looks like an event room with a glass wall so you can watch the process happen.

Excellent staff, service and staff. Frendly and helpful. Samples of maple products makes your choices so much easier. They also ship all over North America which makes shopping convient and you can order products online.
The boat tour company Peggy's Cove Boat Tours is a great way to see the stunning scenery of the Atlantic coast. The crew is funny and informative, and they take visitors on a drive through the bay to see the rocks and waves. On calm days, this is an amazing experience; on stormy days, it's dangerous but still very fun.
Great fun the captain and his sidekick are a great combo for good laughs and information take the boat for a drive is a cool experience on the ocean

If you have the chance, DEFINITELY TAKE A DEEP SEA FISHING TOUR with Peggy's Cove Boat Tours. Our captain Gary and First Mate Abby were exceptional. The first line in the water had 3 mackeral on within seconds and we kept reeling them in. Cod and Haddock too. Abby was amazing with our youngest son. ❤️. The kids are still talking about this adventure. The boat was clean, well maintained. The fishing gear was also well maintained and rigged perfectly. They even cleaned and bagged out fish and we enjoyed 2 lovely dinners of cod. Thank you so much for an awesome time.

Fun trip. Lucky with good weather. We saw about 4 new bird species for us, highlights obviously the Atlantic puffin and common eider. Boat left promptly at 9:30am and returned about Noon. It was 1 hour each way to the island that had the birds. Actual photos of the puffins were tough to get, but binoculars provided good views of the charismatic birds. Worth doing as Peggy's Cove is a bit of a tourist hotspot by the time you finish, easy to spend the rest of the afternoon there.

Had a great experience with Peggy's Cove Boat Tours on the Olivia Margaret. We opted for the Puffin and Seal watching excursion and was not disappointed! Saw tons of puffins and seals on Pearl Island and even some huge ocean sunfish. Would definitely book here again and would try their fishing charter as well.

Great tour! The captain and first mate were friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable. We did the marine tour and saw some seals sunning themselves! Would love to experience the other tours they offer when we return!
Mekea Springer — Google review
Beautiful scenery and the puffins were adorable. Unfortunately there were only a couple of seals to be seen. Found out later that 2 large sharks had been pinged in the area in the same 24hr window, meaning the seals were likely in hiding. Also no whales or dolphins. No fault of the crew or captain but made for a bland excursion only seeing birds.
If you are an avid birder this is an excellent choice so see numerous species seabirds.

We had a blast! We saw puffins and seals as well as other birds. We were able to bring our dog which was nice. Captain and 1st mate were wonderful! There is a toilet on board which is helpful for a 2.5 hour ride.

Fabulous experience! We had a blast, caught a variety and learned some new ways to fish. Garry the captain and Abby the expert fisher were great teachers and guides. It was cool at first but soon warmed up with all the action. Everything was provided. Our group all caught a number of fish and had some good fights. We kept four beautiful fish and sent about 40 or 50 back. We'd highly recommend this experience. A big thank you to the crew!

Captain Gary Burchell is Awesome, very knowledgeable. If asked he will clean the fish that others caught while out on the fishing tour. We had great photos taken out of the Peggy's cove lighthouse

10/10 RECOMMEND!!! Amazing experience! My fiancé and I stumbled upon the boat at 8am and he told us about the deep sea fishing tour leaving at 8:30am. We gathered our belongings so we could join. When in Rome! I’m so glad we did this! Gary and Abby were very helpful, informative, and kind! This boat adventure was the cherry on top to our vacation. We are so grateful and highly recommend giving them your business if you plan on visiting Peggy Cove :) PS caught the biggest fish of the season!! 31” Cod!

Chester Golf Club is a classic golf course located in a picturesque seaside setting with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and colorful sailboats. The club offers a magical experience for golf enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty while playing golf and then relax at the Clubhouse Restaurant, which provides spectacular views from its patio, porch, and dining room. The restaurant is known for serving legendary fishcakes and superb seafood chowder, making it a delightful dining destination after a day on the course.
I was welcomed heartily by our Pro Dan & then John & Dominic an excellent start to another year at Chester. Their welcome set me up for a great round. The course is in excellent condition. Thank you to the full crew for a great course and pleasant day of golf.

Tremendous location! Absolutely fabulous views from the cozy clubhouse restaurant. I love the screened in atrium area that allows for the amazing views and light without the hindrance of bugs and wind.
The food is generally quite excellent here.
One of the servers here was quite good and the other was kind, but extremely slow and would forget what she agreed to do.
The peanut butter pie was more an Ice-cream cake like you'd get at Dairy Queen, but the rest of the meal was good.
The best item was the spicy shrimp appetizer. It comes with sliced French Bread to dip it in!
I also enjoyed my scallop burger. It was the special of the day and it certainly disappeared into my belly quickly 🙃 The scallops were perfectly cooked and made for a uniquely Nova Scotian experience.
NOTE- We did not play golf here. We came solely to eat and the club was quite welcoming of that fact.

Our first time here we went to the clubhouse for our anniversary dinner. The food was good and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The view of course is spectacular!
Our next visit was just a casual visit and yet again the staff and the food were great.
If you are in the Chester area or just on the course golfing, don’t forget to check out the food here.

I am a partner at a local accounting firm in the Halifax area and am pleased that Dan's art has graced our offices for over 20 years now where it is admired by clients on a regular basis. His techniques result in images that glow in any light and the coastal themes resonate well with our location. Where else can you get a landscape of Cape Split that spans 12 feet above our entrance? Thank you Dan for sharing your works with our firm.

This guy puts the artist in con artist. The sale pitch is hard and while the art is beautiful it is misrepresented. Beware, you're not buying an original painting. You're buying a photo, manipulated skillfully in photoshop with a "paining" of clear coat over the top.
If the owner was upfront about what he was selling and charging reasonable prices based upon the medium then it would be okay. Instead you'll be met with a high pressure sales pitch that includes some crazy ideas between left and right brain and what art really is. Any attempts to get information on the technique and medium used will b met with deflection.

My brother and his wife have a painting and we love how the natural light changes the look of the painting. We went with them to his gallery. They had shared how the buying experience was amazing as well. I would completely agree. Daniel made our first "real" painting purchase a memory for life! I can not wait to put his painting in our home. A legacy in our family.

I visited Dan's gallery in Lunenburg in September of 2021 and it is one of the best galleries I have ever seen. His thoughtful and dramatic presentation of his work in his gallery is stunningly impressive.
His artwork is amazing and I purchased 2 pieces of Dan's work that same day. His pieces look stunning on the walls of my home.
Furthermore, Dan is a lovely man to deal with and he is exceptionally friendly. I could not have had a better experience with Dan and I am a true fan of his amazing artwork.
I highly recommend him and his work.

We love our art from Daniel Richards Studio. His paintings add character, life, and color to our home and have become great conversational pieces. We feel fortunate that we stumbled upon his studio while on vacation. We enjoyed the educational aspect of his studio and were delighted to actually talk to the artist himself. He explained his methods and inspiration and asked us if we would like to own a print for our home. We embraced the process of selecting our favorite works and negotiating a fair price. We eagerly awaited our prints and were pleased with Dan's responsiveness to our questions after the art arrived.

It was the summer of 2021 that I happened to find myself in Dan’s gallery. My husband and I are not art connoisseurs, and typically we are in and out of galleries within minutes. But we both found ourselves mesmerized by the space and the pieces on the wall. What we loved was that this wasn’t just about art, but it was a full experience. Dan had curated rooms and spaces that included words of wisdom and little touches of magic. We found ourselves slowing down and taking in each room and message. Finally, at the end of our tour, Dan asked if there were any pieces that stood out. There were a few, but one in particular caught my eye. After connecting with the man behind the art, I felt that there was a deeper connection and with his help, I was able to make my first art purchase. The piece now rests above our fireplace in our new home in Nova Scotia. When asked about it, I recall the overall experience of the purchase and the magic behind it. Thank you Dan for your art, your words of wisdom, and the experience, now a memory.

My wife and I happened upon Dan's Gallery while in Lunenburg. We had seen his work hanging in Toba's B & B and were immediately drawn to it. After a brief introduction, Dan described his approach to art and how it is valued. None of the pieces had prices. After walking the gallery, my wife and I found two black and white pieces we were interested in. Dan quoted us his prices and explained his method. Make me an offer and I will consider it. This method might put some people off, but we were up for it. After considering the numbers, we told Dan we would like to take one of the pieces at full price. His response, "That's terrific, I accept your offer, but only if you take both for the price of one. You love them both." I was touched.
Dan followed up with us at every step with the shipping and ensured we were happy with our purchase. He even included a black and white self portrait with our shipment.
Dan is a self described "grumpy old man",
but I see a man passionate about life and his art!
Thank you Dan!

My initial thoughts were that this was not your ‘typical’ gallery…and thought perhaps I had come to the right place. The more I looked… it only confirmed the realization… I had definitely come to the right place.
The fact that there were no overinflated price tags beside each piece was confusing at first but all made perfect sense in the end. Like I said earlier…not your ‘typical’ gallery. Each piece was titled and had a magnificent accompanying poem. I found this to be an exquisite usher through the stunning views. How he works with light is mind blowing!!! Each room, taking you to a new perspective of the artist’s many great works / the depths of his mind and soul…such a great experience!
‘Twas an absolute honour to meet this phenomenal artist. Daniel is a lovely, quirky, kind, interesting and passionate human. After reading more about him, his gallery and life, I realized how lucky I was to have not only come upon his open gallery, but also to have met the artist himself that day.
Having a recently renovated home, I have been searching (and searching) for the first piece of artwork to proudly hang on our bare walls… Well I’ve finally found it and much more! There were so many beautiful pieces and I’m proud to be the new owner of artwork by such an amazing artist…and human!
As a fellow artist, I’ve found his works to be truly inspirational.
…My only reserve would have to be that I his work could use more tents;)

When you visit Daniel’s gallery in beautiful downtown Lunenburg, NS, you are welcomed and hosted as a guest of his home. As he took us through his magical gallery full of exceptional art installations, he shared with us his history with the Art Gallery of Ontario and his transformation into the study and implementation of luminosity into his art form. The transition of his art as viewed through varying levels of light is truly extraordinary. Daniel is a quirky character, and we thoroughly enjoyed his many enchanting stories. We are delighted and truly honoured to have a couple of his dynamic pieces gracing our home

Visiting Dan Richards's gallery was the ultimate highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. I am a professional designer, with some art training, and I could see immediately that Dan's art is next level. When I walked into the gallery, my immediate reaction was, "Wow, this art is amazing!" and that initial reaction has held up. When the art arrived, it sucked me into the detail, composition, and beauty all over again. And our framer with a degree in Fine Art had the exact same reaction. As we unfurled Lloyd's Landing, Blue Boat, and two of Dan's incredible black and white works, each and every time, he gasped "Wow, that's beautiful!"
But even more amazing that the art is the artist. Dan Richards took more care that my art professors to explore my own perception, reaction, and appreciation of each image. Art is an act of putting one's creative and personal energy into the world, and each of Dan's works if full of his spirit.

Our visit to Daniel Richards' gallery was an experience we will remember forever. While the gallery setup was certainly unconventional, the quality of the work blew us away as soon as we stepped inside. We were thrilled to acquire several pieces for our home, where they will bring beauty into our lives daily and keep us connected with Nova Scotia, its stunning land and seascapes, and the joy of nature. In the end, fostering that joy and sense of connection is what really matters about art.
