How long is the drive from Haliburton to North Bay?
The direct drive from Haliburton to North Bay is 140 mi (225 km), and should have a drive time of 3 hrs 9 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Haliburton to North Bay, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like Haliburton Sculpture Forest and Panorama Park, or the ever-popular Balsam Lake Provincial Park.
The top stops along the way from Haliburton to North Bay (with short detours) are Arrowhead Provincial Park, Santa's Village: Muskoka's Theme Park, and Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm. Other popular stops include Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve Ltd, Heritage Railway & Carousel Company, and Dorset Lookout Tower.
Balsam Lake Provincial Park is a forested recreational destination located within a 1:45 hours drive from Toronto, offering activities such as camping, boating, fishing, hiking and winter skiing. The area features beautiful sandy beaches that are perfect for families to enjoy. Visitors are advised to arrive early in order to make the most of the park's facilities. Although there is limited space for BBQs, beach umbrellas and chairs can be brought along or rented on-site if available.
I spent 5 days here with my wife and her parents. The dog beach here is really nice as well with no rocks. Our dog was able to enjoy the water as well! Our site was also very nice!
The only downside is the beach is so far away from the campsites. Not really a big deal though. That's why I still rated it at five Stars.

Very nice Beaches area especially for families within 1:45 hours of drive from Toronto. Neat and clean sandy beach.
Getting their early will help big time to enjoy the park. Relatively small areas for BBQ which gets filled up quick. Do bring beach umbrella and chairs.
You can also rent small pedal boats here if you get them within their scheduled times as these are rented fairly quickly.
Their portable washrooms are terrible though! 😑

Lake is beautiful, water is so clear. Went here for some hiking. Absolutely beautiful trails. Will come again and stay longer.

I do love coming to Balsam. My partner and I have been coming annually for years. I do recommend camping during the week though. The park has become very popular and can get pretty loud at night when it's busy. My experiences here have been mostly positive. The park staff is great. Unfortunately during our last visit we had to pick up a lot of garbage left at our site. Plastic wrappers, elastics bands, can tabs, and paper waste. This isn't the park's fault, it was obviously the people using the site before us. This won't stop us from returning but I do wish some campers would be more courteous and attentive to their waste.

The true North experience! Great for families with picnic areas, playgrounds and beaches ( unsupervised). Sprawling park with forested trails, designated dog beach and boat launch area. Small but efficient park store and limited food/camping items. The beach area is small and alternating sand & patches of grass/ shrubs. Quite rocky base & shoreline but further out dense seaweed so may decide for water shoes. It’s definitely a family park and noted several runners & cyclists but if you prefer the quiet, raw beauty of provincial parks this one may disappoint. Ample parking with facilities and quaint educational centre for families & kids.
Camping areas looked generous and remote from the hustle & bustle of the main beach & playground. If you’re into beach volleyball, complete area designated with net & picnic tables for enjoying, just bring your volleyball & you’re ready to play! Enjoy!

Great park for camping. Clean washrooms and comfort stations. Campsites are close to eachother and sometimes that might bother you. Beach and picnic areas get super busy on weekends with lots and lots of people, super crowded. But beach is really great and water is nice and clean. Hiking trails are beautiful and scenic especially the Lookout Trail. Visit the park on week days to avoid rush and crowd.

My friend and I camped here on Thanksgiving weekend and it was wonderful! The leaves during this time of year are gorgeous and we had such a good time sightseeing inches paths and trails. Staff at the check in desk and the park rangers were friendly and helpful. Finding your way around the park is easy as all roadways and paths are clearly marked.
We had a great time and were very comfortable. Water taps, toilets and garbage bins are conveniently placed so you never have to travel too far, especially in the dark. Highly recommend visiting here and we're planning on camping here again in the spring.

We had a great day!
However, there are extremely stinky washrooms by parking lot 1. Just don't walk near them.

Went camping over the weekend summer time! It was our kids first time camping. Great experience to get together with family. Stayed in the group camp site.
Pros: Have a huge space for everyone to use and enough space for parking as well. Lots of tables for more than 20 people. Have one bonfire area but need to buy woods from here. Lake was clear and safe for swimming. There's a kids park, Volleyball and shower area. Free to borrow fishing rod. The sky is full of beautiful stars during the night! Pet friendly! So much activities to do but couldn't try everything. We will definitely go back again.
Cons: Washrooms on our campsite seems like it was never cleaned. I might be wrong but it stinks alot so we had to drive a few minutes to a better public washroom.
Always bring toilet paper or wipes with you when going to public washroom because they always run out of toilet paper. It's always better to be ready 😅. Also, don't forget there is a ton of mosquitoes out there during the night and even early morning so bring bug spray or cover yourself with bug suit! 😆

Balsam Lake has been a family favorite for my entire life.
It has one of the most beautiful provincial park beaches I've been to.
The sites are always clean and well maintained.
There is a small but entertaining play structure located just behind the beach and wuite a few washrooms that are, for the most part, always clean.
There are 3 hiking paths to enjoy, and they are all amazing. The lookout loop is probably our favorite. We have walked and run it hundreds of times. There's always plenty to see.
My only wish is that they would make the dog beach a bit nicer. Its small and seems like an afterthought, which is a shame because who doesn't want to take their pup to the beach?

Had a great time at Balsam Lake. It was my first time being there and it did not disappoint. I used to camp regularly when I was younger but I got older and life got in the way. So when the wife suggested we go camping this year because of the pandemic I was in. As we aren't as young as we used we decided to rent a trailer from Canadream.
We got to the park and finding our site was easy because everything was well marked. We booked a lakeside site with power but our only complaint was the power pole was about 30 to 40' away and our camper's cord wasn't long enough. Luckily we thought to bring an extension cord or we would've been in trouble. (The power box is between two sites and it was right on our neighbour's site and we had to go through the trees to get to it.)
Other than that little complaint everything else was awesome. Park staff were helpful, very welcoming and the park itself was beautiful. There were lots of trails to walk on and I saw plenty of people fishing. It also was a peaceful camp, there were no loud parties or music being played at excessive volumes. It's also a dog friendly park with lots of people, us included, that brought their pet. Everyone kept their dogs under control and there was no excessive barking at any time.
All in all we had an excellent time and would return.

This provincial park is located in some beautiful country. The park covers a big area, and is very well designed, with lots of one way roads. Campsites are spacious and clean, with tons of shade, affording more privacy than you'd expect. Very large beach area, with a separate boat launch and docking. Great for swimming, paddling, fishing. Great spot to get your camp on!
Derek Brown — Google review
Very pleasant experience... even with a little drizzle, can't beat the outdoors, though It would have been better if it was otherwise so to take a swim in the lake's clear water.....
jojo Toronto — Google review
No privacy and our site turned to a complete mud pit in the rain. Like sink into the ground, lose your shoes mud If you have young kids then it's the place for you. If you don't... avoid at all costs! Great boat launch, lots of room and you can leave it in, first come first serve. A little shallow for larger boats.

Really enjoyed the trails at Balsam Lake Provincial Park! Completed the full trail network and thoroughly enjoyed it all!
Summer Mckay — Google review
Camping here this Labor Day. Very spacious sites with none privacy. The beach is not very clean but the water is clear. Only 2 of 5 bathrooms function, and I believe their heat water tank need some maintenance work, because you need to wait a few minutes to get warm water and it’ll back to ice-cold water all the sudden. So, be ready for it.

Beautiful camping grounds, very clean. Rangers come around often to maintain a safe and happy environment for all which was really appreciated. Main washrooms were kept very clean. Overall a wonderful weekend camping here
Jessica Terry — Google review
We stayed at the Fir campground, which was going well until night-time. Then there was noise like if we were being invaded by the March of the drunkards. Someone blaring their car horn in rhythm, boisterous laughter, fighting, flash lights aimed at the tent.. The drama went on for a while. I wish the park rangers made drive bys at night like they did during the day. Besides that, washrooms were clean, the beach was nice and we enjoyed the hiking. The kids loved the playground at the beach. Pretty dog-friendly. Bring your bikes!

Balsam Lake is by far the most quintessential provincial Park I ever visited in ON. It has lots of activities to get campers emerged in to enjoy. Campers can go birdwatching, swimming, kayaking, boating, hiking and fishing. This park is where you can find the rare bird specie called the loggerhead shrike, a tiny bird that impales its prey on thorns.
I didnt give the park a 5 yet bec the toilet esp the men's weren't really kept clean altho the shower units are all great.
Vivien Del Mundo — Google review
We had a great time. The weather didn't really cooperate (heavy rain the first night and bitter cold the second), but it didn't dampen our spirits. There are lots of hiking trails, and the park is exceptionally well maintained. The only two disappointments were that the Lookout doesn't have much of a view, and the park store wasn't open, so it was a bit of a walk to get the kids treats.

Such a lovely little find and pretty walk. It seems there are endless trails and never ending sculptures, along with some nice views over the lake. Definitely check this out.
Beautiful for hiking, snowshoeing, or skiing in the winter

What a lovely outdoor art gallery. Reminds me of the Hakone open air museum in Japan. Signage indicates you can e-transfer to make a donation to show your support.

Beautiful and peaceful walking trail through the forest with many interesting and quirky, art sculputers made of various materials and designs. Halfway through is a nice rest stop that overlooks a good portion of Haliburton Lake.
Perfect way to end your time in the area, when starting at the museum and working your way over to. Or even just out for a walk.

A peaceful and tranquil place to visit on a weekday afternoon. Minimal mosquitoes made the walk a pleasant one. The sculpture forest is situated next to Fleming College and is easily accessible by car. Free parking. There's a pay what you can box and maps of the trails and information about the sculptures at the entrance.

Went to the Haliburton Sculpture Forest for a Self-care women's retreat. It was amazing! It was such a unique place with different sculptures along the trails. I loved that each of them had significant meanings. It's the perfect place to explore, hike and take in beautiful art work. This is a place where everyone should experience!

Short, 30-minute walk is enough to quickly appreciate some of the interesting art. Definitely would recommend visiting for travellers and locals in Lindsay!

My other half and myself always try to break up long drive.. we were a little confused at first when we got to a college; but immediately surprised and excited to see the sculpture trail is open to everyone free of charge! It made for a rememberable sunset stroll. ❤️🔥

Great visit to the Haliburton Sculpture Forest -- the sculptures were amazing! Was nice that the trail was *somewhat* wheelchair accessible -- but getting up the trail to get back to the parking lot was a bit rough due to the incline. Otherwise, it was great experience!

Such a fun place to visit and walk through.
Great for young and old.
I noticed several trails you could go through and lots of sculptures around to see.
Pauline Looi — Google review
This place is pretty interesting. You can get to see unique sculptures not too far from each other. It actually made my 3yo daughter curious and ended up walking the entire trail because she was excited to see what kind of art she's going to encounter next. You can easily spend about an hour in this area.

I really loved the place everything is around and not too much walk. Very easy hike in the forest and all the sculpture are close to each other. Including the forest sculpture and the museum it can be done within 1- 2 hours.

Nice healthy walk through the trails to see the art. Mostly shaded, which is a bonus to help beat the heat.
Our favourite, closest to home ski hill! We visit a few times each season. Always great staff, good hills, good food.

Had an enjoyable visit! Ski lift operators were friendly and courteous. Great views and hiking trails at the top. Owen and staff at the restaurant were super nice and served delicious food! The menu had a tasty vegan option that was much appreciated by my mom who’s vegetarian. A good selection of drinks too!

Amazing place if you want to have some good time. No matter what level your skiing skills are, you can find an appropriate channel to fill you in. My kids enjoyed their learning classes today and they were very excited. Services are very good as well, rescheduled due to weather conditions without any issues. Responses were quite responsive and prompt. Highly recommend! Prices were a bit high but these days no cheap places anywhere.

Live music on Saturday afternoon in the bar area gives excellent ambiance. Large deck and fire pit. Family friendly ski resort. Majority are riding skis. Hope to see more for snowboarders (boxes, half pipe) in future.

I’ve been skiing at Sir Sam’s since I was a kid. The new owners have seemed to have spent a lot of money on things that haven’t improved Sir Sam’s at all. For example, they have decided to put in a big metal tower which is an eye sort. It really takes away from the natural look of the hill. The food is expensive, long wait times, and makes no sense to have a sit down restaurant at a ski and bikes resort. They have modernized everything and taken away the family vibe. I’m sad to see something I’ve grown up with change into something much less enjoyable.
Noor Rands — Google review
Great ski hill! Only 2 lifts running that we saw but still possible to get to all the hills and not too expensive for a full day pass. Great for starters and people who just want to have a fun day skiing. Definitely will be coming back!
Stefanie J — Google review
Still a great hill, and lots of great updates to facilities, but not all great changes. December 27, the full hill isn't open (3 runs + bunny hill), charging full rates, and 45-60 minutes to just get a table inside (Before even ordering food, which we have been advised will be about an hour...for $14 poutine). This is at 2pm, not peak "lunch time". There are definitely some logistical issues that need to be addressed. It's sad because I have been skiing here for decades, but I can't justify this for my family.

Visited Sir Sam's for their fall colours ride/walk as it was a transition season it was not busy, but probably the best time to visit. Grounds were in good shape and the staff was friendly and professional. Keep up the good work.

Been to this on boxing day, amazing staff hospitality. Me and my wife were skiing for the first time ever, their Discover Ski program is a really option and the instructor was also very understanding and accommodating. Since it was our day 1 we were struggling with our sizes and fitment. They have an excellent team on the rental shop they adjust your boots and skiis if you have got our own ( as in our case ) Located in nice serene location would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to start their skiing journey. They also offer variety of programs for beginners to advanced skiers.

if you’re checking reviews to see if it’s worth it to come back to a spot you grew up loving & spending time at, don’t waste your time. If you have fond and heartfelt memories here, it’s not worth coming back to have it all tarnished. Unfortunately, I know most of the population here agrees.
Really missing the way things were when the Bishops owned the place. Sadly, it’s become much more of a thoughtless cash-grab with zero care in the world for customer experience and retention.
Gone are the days where you can bring your family to ski for a reasonable price, and gone are the days of popping into the chalet after a couple runs to grab some fries for any less than an arm and a godd*mn leg.
I feel for the staff that’s stuck around for all the right reasons. sad.

Disgusting inappropriate music blasting from the kitchen all day. Had to move my kids away from kitchen because of the amount of sexual content and f words being blasted. Every table was dirty at 9am when it opened. Staff in the kitchen yelling and cursing f bombs all day long. Overpriced chip truck style food.
1 star to recognize the awesome chairlift guys, rental staff, and amazing teachers outside.

A hidden gem for a family of ski instructors...and a 35-40 minute drive from our cottage in the Kawarthas. Great hills and a fun morning despite the -30C morning shred. Lots of decent skiers so no first time crazies or yard sales and all staff were extremely warm, helpful & welcoming. Warmed up enough to have some eats and some spirits (great Boshkung Brewing Co. Black Rock Dark Ale for me) on their massive deck while enjoying the view of the hill along with getting a good dose of vitamin D thanks to Momma Nature...will be back next week. ~dMac 🇨🇦
Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve Ltd is a tourist hot spot that offers a wide range of activities in its 100,000-acre forest. The reserve is owned by the same family who purchased it with the aim of making a living off sustainable forestry while also protecting its unique biodiversity. Visitors can enjoy camping, hiking, snowmobiling during winter and attend annual events such as the Hog Roast party organized for staff and local communities.
This amazing place is the PERFECT weekend getaway! We booked the Cliff Side Cabin for my parents anniversary and were very impressed with the entire experience from greetings with staff for check-in and their patience with all our questions to the cabin interior and great hiking trails.
The cabin was very well maintained with firm, comfortable beds and great water pressure and temperature for showers.
We were lucky to see wildlife along our walks - from chipmunks and squirrels to blue heron and deer! - and heard wolves howling at night which was pretty exciting.
Our lunch at Truss Foodworks Smokehouse (located at Base Camp) was lovely as servers were very kind and the food portions were large and tasty too.
I would highly recommend this place to enjoy with family and friends and reconnect with nature!

Great trail system, groomed well, decent signage. Smaller than it seems I think you could ride the whole park in a day if you pushed, but could also make a real nice long weekend of it. Great views too

Ice climbing here is a lot of fun. Great for beginners as there are a few routes with varying degrees of difficulty and lots of opportunities to practice before committing to the full climbs. I’m a rock climber and this was a very different experience for me! Ted was our instructor and he is a sweetheart who very clearly has a lot of fun doing what he does. He is very patient and encouraging.
Give it a try! We enjoyed every bit.

We visited the Wolf sanctuary as a family and it was a great experience. I learned a lot from reading all of the displays inside. We got to see 4 of the wolves, we even got to hear them howl during the day! The only thing we would have liked more was more interaction from the guide/employee. They really didn't go through the displays or explain/interact with anyone much unless they were asked something.
The other major reason for our visit was to get Truss Food works which was relocated from Beaverton to the Haliburton Forest. They have excellent food and great staff. The new location is a huge step up from the old one and everything from the interior to the lake view is beautiful.

The Halliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve is a huge beautiful property that is sustainably maintained. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. My husband and I did the canopy tour. It was a unique and wonderful experience, and exactly as advertised. We felt it was a little overpriced, which is why we give it 4 stars, not 5.

Very neat spot. Our site was quite nice and the sites are well spread out. Individual outhouses at each site was pretty handy as well. Firewood is $10 at the base camp, unfortunately, it was quite wet but it just made for a little extra work getting our fire going! I would stay there again as a car camping spot.

Haliburton Forest is an incredibly special location in Ontario’s Highlands - we are totally addicted to coming here, regardless of the season.
Each season has it’s own magic in the Forest and I highly recommend coming in off-peak season to enjoy the fall colors, snowmobiling (and cross country skiing!), fabulous (and quiet) hiking trails and late summer swimming. The spring is also great, as the Forest produces it’s own maple syrup and I know they have a new experience centred around syrup production (so cool!)
The staff are always friendly and accommodating and staying at the CABINSCAPE cabins in the Forest is a totally unique and private experience. Can’t wait for what next spring and summer has to bring - definitely interested in more rock climbing out here too :)

This is a vast conservation area with multiple trails and campsites with lake access. You can use your private vehicle to
hop on different places inside the forest. Google map does not work here properly, you can install their in-house app which is somewhat interactive. We visited the forest during fall season it was amazing. You can also visit the wolf centre which is overhyped though.

Beautiful nature-forward property. Water is nice and clear. Showers, a water well etc. were available at the Base Camp. They were dated but did the job.
Stayed at MacDonald Lake boat in site.
Outhouse on site. Site doesnt have any perfectly flat ground for tent set up, so you have to be creative and open minded. Probably only the 1 spot for a twnt TBH. Hammock campers dream site. Canoe launch and landing was easy from the site. Its rocky but not slimy rocks. Paddle to the site from the launch took about 10 mins. You can see your vehicle from the site, so it makes it easy to go back and forth when needed. Ventured into Blue Lake, great smallie fishing there. Would definitely stay on these grounds again.

The marina at Port Orillia is a top-notch facility with pristine shower rooms, synthetic wood docks, and spacious slips. Its convenient location next to a beautiful park and within walking distance of a grocery store, craft brewery, and several outstanding restaurants make it an ideal destination for boaters. The staff's constant maintenance ensures the port remains in excellent condition, despite ongoing waterfront construction that is hardly noticeable from the docks.
It is a beautiful port. Right now there is a ton of construction for the new condos across the street from the waterfront which make for less parking. The boardwalk is beautiful, the washroom facilities seem to be well maintained. I frequently walk here and enjoy the views. There's a little boat launch, a lot of people walk their dogs there, there's a playground for the kids. All in all quite an enjoyable location.

First class marina! New harbor building; immaculately clean individual shower rooms; beautiful synthetic wood floating docks; wide slips; large beautiful park right next door; staff is constantly doing maintenance to keep the Port shipshape, even " mowing" and using pitch forks to clean out grass in the marina; an easy 10-minute walk to an extremely well-stocked grocery; a 5- minute walk to a craft brewery; and multiple excellent restaurants within easy walking distance (don't miss Sanafir Mediterranean restaurant... the food is exceptional!!). There is a lot of construction along the waterfront, but it's barely noticeable from the docks. Port Orillia is a don't miss destination on the Trent-Seven.

First time coming here on the Pontoon. We docked with goals of going to Mariposa Market, we also hit up Cool Cones for a soft serve.
Parking the boat was $10 here for the day, and there is a lock and code to the boats so there is some security when leaving your boat behind.
There is a restroom and it was clean.
No complaints to note, all good vibes.

My husband and I went for a walk here. The only way into the park is off Bay St. Sooo much construction going on at the other entrances. I really miss French's Stand down at the park. Great food there and it was there sooo many years. It was part of our park. I hope they come back after construction is done or give them old PAV spot was in Orillia at the park. Very nice view and good to have a walk. But the nearest Parking is for residents parking only, must check the signage before parking. Easy to a get a fine of $100 if you are not residents and don't have a valid permit. Not worth to take a chance.
Rugged hiking loop along forested ridges with lookout points offering valley & lake views.
Wonderful view from the top of the ridges well worth the hike up. This is one of the harder trails in the park so make sure you bring snacks and water if you do the full loop. (Please remember to take any garbage you with you)
The climb up is moderate to hard and the ground is uneven the entire way. Beyond the great view and the normal awesome nature of the park, this trail runs right beside, at least 2, small beaver dams. One of them has altered the water flow on to the trail, so watch your step in that section.
Overall a great trail for anyone who is in reasonably good health .

Challenging hike—bring extra food and water! Granted, we did this during 25+ degrees, but while the trail map/guide says 10-11km, my Fitbit tracked it at 13.5k. Took 4 hrs with lots of breaks. Definitely treat yourself to an ice cream after! If you’re looking to enjoy the best views without the trek, hike in the opposite direction.
Rosemary B — Google review
Great long hike. If you go during rain or if recently rained you will encounter a lot of mud. This increases the challenge and time you'll spend by 30-60 minutes and makes the hike much more technical.
Footwear with ridges on the bottom will help greatly.
Views are amazing, they become a bit similar after seeing 3-4 of the similar lookouts but they are welcomed breakspots.
Fall/Autumn definitely was an amazing time and we caught the peak of all the colour changes.

Nice view, whole trail for around 5 hours. It’s worth it. However, the trail is just mountain road, it’s not constructed road. Might not be good for people who have difficulty walking.

Great hike close to 10km for the entire loop. While not a hard hike, it's is long and with alot of ups and downs, and can get really muddy, so bring good hiking boots.
And parts of the trail are close the edge of the ridge, so do be careful.

Fantastic trail, with many gorgeous views, rich history, and abundant forest full of fresh and tasty fungi, friendly animals, plant life, blueberries and more. 4 & a half hours and we had a blast. Love this trail and recommend for all 🏞️

Great hiking route to get some breathtaking views around Algonquin Park and lakes. Good size car park with small bush toilet, trail is well marked out along the way so would be very hard to get lost. Hiked in July so weather was perfect. It was a weekday so pretty quiet, only passed a few other walkers. Route took a little over 3hrs with breaks to take photos and take in the surroundings. A really nice trail and would highly recommend - need to be able bodied as some fairly steep sections. Keep children close on the Ridges as the edges are unprotected and a long way up.

First time at Centennial Ridge Trail let alone Algonquin Park. For context we sent May 19. Great experience; 10k trail — we were able to complete it in around 3.5 hours with minimal stopping. Views are great, not much wildlife to see, although we did see some hawks at one of the peaks. When hiking bugs are not an issue, however, when you stop they definitely are hovering around. Will definitely be back, next stop Mizzy Trail!

One of the best trail in Algonquin. It is medium difficulty level I would say. The view points has gorgeous views of whitefish lake and lake of two rivers. Takes about 4 hours to complete the loop. Best one for viewing the fall colors.

There are more than a dozen popular hiking trails in Algonquin park. If you just want to pick one to hike in fall, this is the one. There are cliff edge lookouts, rocks, lakes or ponds along the looped trail. The scenery was stunning. The trail was pretty challenging. Bring enough water and food or snacks, be prepared for walking the rugged terrain of 16km long hours.

This hike is a bit of a challenge. What a view when you get to the ridge over Whitefish Lake. The day we went, it was not too clear due to the forest fires in the north but still pretty nice

Dorset Lookout Tower, located just north of Dorset in the Algonquin Highlands, is a 30-meter tall metal tower offering breathtaking views of Lake of Bays and the surrounding forests. Visitors can climb the open metal stairs to reach the observation deck, which sits 465 feet above Lake of Bays. The area also features hiking trails, picnic sites, and visitor information. While fall offers stunning foliage views, it's recommended to avoid busy weekends.
Located in a quaint little park. The views are breathtaking, both from the tower, and the ground. The climb up the tower can be daunting if you're not good with heights, but totally worth it! You probably won't be there long, but you won't forget your visit!
Reasonable park fee for an unbelievable experience. Two newly paved parking lots. A small gift shop is also open.
Definitely worthwhile to see, you won't regret it!

Wow 😍 an experience like no other! The views at the lookout points alone are unbelievable. Once you've made your way to the top of the tower though, you will be treated to the most magnificent, beautiful views, especially in the fall! The lady working in the building was the most pleasant, and my husband and I had a great little chat with her. She had some great recommendations for us, sadly no moose were seen though! 😉

The Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower is a protected landmark located in the town of Dorset, Ontario, Canada, with amazing panoramic views of the surrounding natural area. From the top of the tower, you can view the picturesque landscapes of lush forests, sparkling lakes, and rolling hills of the region. This definitely is a spot for excellent photo opportunities, and sightseeing.
FYI…we paid at the gate, I believe around $11 a person. If you park at the bottom parking lot and walk up the hill I believe it’s like $5.00
Kat Hynes — Google review
Great lookout. Tower is stable and pretty tall. Looks like it's used for transmitting radio waves or something like that. Parking is readily available (many spots) and there is a little gift shop near the tower.

The Dorset lookout tower is a must-visit for anyone seeking breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This architectural marvel rises high above the treetops, offering a bird's-eye perspective of the natural beauty that Dorset has to offer. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or just looking for a serene escape, this tower provides an unforgettable experience. The climb to the top is a bit of a challenge, but the reward is worth it as you're greeted with a 360-degree view that captures the essence of Dorset's wilderness. It's a perfect spot for hikers, photographers, or anyone looking to connect with nature and take in the splendor of the area. Don't forget your camera and a sense of adventure when you visit this iconic lookout tower.

I have been there many times, and this time I learned that there is a free spring water supply behind the store, which is very sweet. If you go, remember to bring a jar of water.

It's best spot to watch maple leaves. It's a well maintained and managed park. There are many potable washrooms, water station, parking spots and ice cream. The view is fantastic! The tower is high enough to watch the scenery. Recommend to by the tickets in advance at weekends.

We loved the views from the top of the Tower. The foot path is quite rugged in places and not suitable for those with walking difficulty or very young children. Some rock scrambling is required and it is steep in places. It would be helpful to have this warning at the start of the foot path.
Mokate Property Investments — Google review
It was a rainy/snowy day, so it was as clear and colourful as we expected.
The structure is very sturdy and it doesn't move a lot even with strong winds and people walking up and down.
It was busy at times, I believe on a good weather day will be very busy.
Going up the stairs is easier than going down. Also, the weather conditions might make it slippery as it is a full steel structure.
You need to book a reservation ahead of time.
There are two parking lots. One near the tower, and one at the bottom of the hill (15min walking uphill towards the tower).
There are portable washrooms available.
Mariana Bracho — Google review
Absolutely stunning view. My family enjoys parking at the bottom of the hill by the museum and hiking up.
Bonnie Monaghan (RagingBeaver) — Google review
Hands down, one of the best places to view the fall colors of Ontario. Online reservation is recommended for those who want to drive up the hill (~1km), but if you love the walk, tickets are available in the entrance booth. Reach early if you don't want to be turned away by O.P.P. especially during holidays/long weekend.
Porta potties are available near the lookout tower parking area (uphill).
The climb up the tower is somewhat steep, so if you have little children, take extra care and precaution. There is only one person controlling the crowd below the tower entrance and you are asked to limit your visit up top to a maximum of 5 minutes. No enforcement though.
Overall, a terrific experience to enjoy a good hike and see nature's bountiful creations!
Arvind M.Raman — Google review
Quite and relaxing. The tower is high and the view on top is really nice. But overall there is not much to do here other than that. There are fees to access this and it's not free

Must visit place on your trip to Algonquin or Huntsville. Its not only the tower but trails and views around the area are all great. Entry to the area is paid, parking is free. Free drinking water & washrooms available on site.
Of course, fall visit is the best but the views in other seasons are breathtaking as well.
The tower itself is like a 15 minute thing and provides a 360 degree view of the area.
Spend some time sitting at the Peek a Boo Rock. Maybe have lunch or snacks there. Then take the trail down the hill. Its a nice long trail but the way back up is tiring so be careful of you have seniors in your group.
A great experience. Nice spot to take guests and tourists.

A beautiful spot around 15 to 20 km off the highway 60. Wanted to visit this place after seeing lots of post or videos on instagram last year. I was driving to our cabin while saw this place was on the route we stopped by since it was a weekday and didn’t have lot of crowd. I would recommend pre-booking your entry online if planning for a weekend visit. The parking lot closer to tower and you have to climb at least 8 to 10 flights of stairs to reach the top. Midway to the top you can stand and wait checking out the scenery around since only 30 ppl can be at top at any given point in time. Once on the top you get a 360* view of Algonquin and Muskoka. We were lucky enough to get very good fall color sighting even though the day has rainy and fog. The last car entry is at 5 pm in the evening and on the stairs the entry stops after 5:45pm. Even the parking lot had lot of trees with a good fall colors.

A beautiful place to see the fall colours.. I would recommend pre booking the tickets online and we went on a thanksgiving long weekend to be honest it was crowded but the view was worth the wait! Be prepared to climb a flight of stairs!!!
Tanya Thomas — Google review
Need to make reservation for crowd control. There are staff working at the entrance checking your ticket or bar code on the reservation email, then staff everywhere to guide you to parking. The tower is just a short walk from the upper parking lot. Bring enough clothing as it can get really windy and cold. When we went there wasn't a line but when we came down the line started to build. Steps are quite narrow, need to hold onto the hand rail to be safe. Older and younger visitors, or if you have fear of height then you might need assistance. Take your time and be patient. The top looks like a cage but you will be able to take good pictures through the fence. Be nice, take pictures, enjoy the view, then leave so the people behind you can do the same.
Joanna Poon (koalajoe) — Google review
Would've been cool to visit, however it is closed until Victoria day weekend so one cannot go to the tower.
Have submitted the edit to Google but not sure it'll make it.

Fun stop, beautiful views and friendly staff. If you are a party of more than 4, it costs less to drive up than to walk up, so keep that in mind. Overall I would reccomend stopping here for some great views (but not if you're scared of heights).

The Track and Tower Trail offers a 7.5-kilometer hike through diverse scenery, including forested areas, rock cliffs, lakeshore views, and an old railway bed. Hikers can enjoy the spectacular lookout over Cache Lake and explore remnants of old railway bridges along the way. While some sources rate it as difficult due to muddy paths and steps, others find it more moderate with occasional ups and downs. The trail is noted for its beauty, featuring a waterfall and a viewpoint.
Nice trail and beautiful trail in Algonquin. The difficulty level is medium to high. During rainy days trails can be really muddy. Trail is so beautiful and has a nice little water fall and a view point. Parking available and free. This is a 8km loop and took one and half hours to complete the trail.
Niroshan Udith Bandara — Google review
Lovely trail. We finished in 2.5 hours including 15 min at the main lookout. Some places it’s very dense forest so is bit dark else everything is ok. Moderate to hard difficulty. Lookout is accessible from campgrounds by bicycle.

We had a great experience hiking Track and Tower trail this weekend. The trail was not very busy. The view from the lookout was just spectacular!!!!
Possibly I think the next weekend and the following week might be the peak season for the fall leaves this year.
On the booklet, this trail is marked as 7.5km level difficult, but in my opinion, the trail is moderate level. The trail is mostly contained with easy slop paths. There were some ups and downs, time to time. To go to the look out spot, there is a long staircase, 132 steps to go up. The trail paths have many areas with rocks and exposed roots. We visited after the rainfall night that the paths were muddy. It was extremely muddy from the trail point of 12-13.
The trail paths were very well marked with many signs.
The booklet is marked as 4hr to complete the trail. It took us 3 hr 48 minutes, including 40 minutes lookout stop, as well as multiple water and taking picture breaks.
We really like the trail.
This trail has mix of everything, not only the beautiful lookout view, but also be able to walk in the forest, as well as walk alongside a lake/ravines. In addition, we enjoyed the view of the dam, waterfall, and rushing river.
If you are on your bike ride adventure, you can combine this trail when you reach the end of old railway bike trail near Coche lake. There is a bike rack to lock your bike. Then, hike up about 1km to the look out point to enjoy the view.
Tomo — Google review
A beautiful trail with a picturesque lookout view. The trial is also very easy to follow with markers along the route and there are also maps that one can pick up at the start of the trail. The trail also has parking and washrooms. Overall, an amazing trail that is worth the effort!

Loved the hike... All trails rated it as easy and the brochure I received from the visitor center rated it as difficult. I would rate it moderate (have tons of steps as well) and difficult when it's raining. The paths are extremely muddy so if it is raining or rained in last few days, be prepared to get mud all over you. Have appropriate hiking boots and a stick would help. Pro tip - go to the exit first and pick up a stick before you start your hike, you will thank me later :) tons of view points, but the best one is after you take about 100 or so steps. The entire hike took me around 3.5 hours

A decent, easy-going trail for beginner-intermediate hikers. Completed this one in about 90 minutes at a light trail-running pace. Very scenic, although you are really only hitting one view. Enjoyable with some nice climb. I would recommend NOT to take this over Centennial, as Centennial has better views and more varied scenery. Good for a warmup hike.

A HIDDEN GEM IN ALGONQUIN......
So may people are in a rush along Hwy 60 to get someplace that they miss this beautiful collection of Ontario artists who have fallen in love with the park.
This is a FREE gallery. Although a $5 donation to the gallery is "recommended" it would be criminal NOT to put at least that into the box to support this magnificent display of talent. There is a large selection of styles and media on display (...and I believe to purchase....???) which depict perspectives of Algonquin's nature I could only hope to imagine.
DO NOT PASS THIS PLACE BY !!!!!
NOTE: A huge parking lot at the bottom of a large set of stairs but if there are visitors with mobility issues drive up the hill to the right and park behind the Gallery.

A true gem in Algonquin Park. The Algonquin Art Centre is a world class small gallery of some of Canada's finest wildlife and landscape painting, sculpture and other forms of art. The art on display is lovingly curated and their small gift shop has great arts and local crafts that support the gallery's focus on the outdoors. Tom Thomson painted many of his most iconic works here the park and the art centre activly honours his work and that of the Group of Seven by displaying today's best Canadian landscape and wildlife art. It's only open during the spring, summer, and fall. In the summer months they offer art classes and opportunities to create your own small paintings and sketches. It's worth the drive from Ottawa or Toronto. View the gallery, the Algonquin Park visitor centre, and stay in a lodge in the park for a uniquely Canadian weekend or overnight. The nearby Portage Store and also Killarney Lodge offer great meals.

Santa's Village is a seasonal amusement park in Muskoka, which boasts Christmas-themed attractions such as rides, visits with Santa and a petting zoo. The park also features a splash pad for kids to cool off during summer months. The colours and lights create festive vibes during the winter season. The food and available rides vary depending on the time of year, with the park fully operational from summer to fall before winding down for Santa's busy period.
Santa's Village is definitely a theme park worth visiting. It's definitely a fantastic all year round Christmas themed park. It's a wonderful place to go escape your daily life, and feel the warmth of Christmas no matter the weather. During winter time it's quite a site with the extra Christmas lights they put up - along with the available rides. Not many rides are open during winter, but the Train, and Horse-wagon ride are a delight to ride! Would definitely recommend bringing young kids, or even just going for the lights. Arriving around 4pm is probably the best time, as you get some daylight enjoyment while you Transition into the night festivities. Overall it's a great place to be, with friendly Elves and Helpers!

Nice place to visit when in Huntsville or around the Muskoka region. Traditionally a Christmas themed park, there are still lots to see and rides to enjoy. There is a train ride that runs around the center of the facility. It's a nice experience as people wave and greet during the ride.
The boat ride is a good experience also as it goes through the surrounding cottages.
Food is not allowed on site but there are picnic areas in the parking lot to enjoy your private food.
There is a go cart circuit to enjoy also.
Lots of ride to enjoy. But the rides are small and short but you can go on them as many times as possible.
It's also a bit pricey for an all day pass. If you leave around you might just get the season pass.

Great Theme Park for the young to the 'Believers'. The colours & lights truly make Santa's Village festive in the winter. The food & rides, & their availability change for the seasons. Fully operational during the summer months to a select few, winding down through Autumn to Santa's time of year. A Season's Pass is worth the money if you plan to make the trip more than twice. The 'Village' is appropriately sized for families with young children.

Always a great place to take the kids, also I don't think a lot of people have been there since they added new attractions and renovated their park. Everything looks amazing as and I hear they are doing a winter fest soon which will be awesome right before Christmas for the lil ones. The staff was friendly and approachable and let's not forget Santa, he is always great. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The only complaint I would have is that the restaurant that's near the water needs to work on their process of clearing tables and getting people seated and also coming around to clear plates or refill drinks. Other than that great time. Definitely recommend.

We also stayed at Santa's Whispering Pines Campground across the road which was lovely and so close to the park.

It's an experience. Theme parks in the winter is a paradigm shift for me, but when you are treating your grandchild, why not? There are limited rides and events but enough to cover the overall cost. (Balancing?) I would go and do this again if the "other" grandchildren have a desire. It's a great park for kids, of all ages.

Pretty fun place for families.
Christmas themed amusement park.
The great thing is that because it's geared towards kids, unless they're little, you don't have to worry about whether the child is old enough to ride anything. And even small kids can ride most things.
I recommend staying at the campground. It makes it very easy getting to the park and back as it's just across the street.

This is a great day for the right aged kids. The upgrades they have done recently are awesome.
The new elf school is a huge upgrade from the last and it wasn’t that bad before.

We were staying at the campground across the street. My wife and sister came over in the morning to ask if there was stuff for adults to do and they were told yes. They were told to bring our park pass to get a discount.
So we headed over with our pass and we were now told we need our reservation. Luckily my wife had it on our phone. I watched the staff review it with great detail.... wouldn't want just anyone to get that $3 savings. So we paid the $155+ and went in.
We did one round of go carts and toured around the park.
The train wasn't running. The batting cages looked like they had been closed for years. So that eliminated two adult things we could do.
We went on the 6 car ferris wheel. Which after they took the time to stop and load each car, did one revolution then started to unload the cars. That was a joke.
We went back to our motorhome for lunch. It rained for about an hour so u checked their website. It says they keep going and even provide free rain ponchos. So when it stopped, we headed back.
It was around 3 so I headed back to the go carts only to find the carts had been put away. The staff said they were told to put them away for the day.
I went to customer service and spoke to Sherry. I explained that we were 3 adults and paid $155 to ride the go carts once. She had a so sad too bad attitude. She actually said the park was for kids not adults. If that's the case, say that before we pay our money.
My wife's sister was leaving the next day so I asked if she could give 2 rain checks for the next day. She said no, I'll give you one. Managers like her don't realize you aren't selling a physical product. It takes nothing from your bottom line to give 2 passes. Needless to say the pass went unused as we were not about to give them anymore money.
The other issue that I had is with the staff that are running the rides. They looked so young that I asked a little girl how old she was and she said 14!!!
I'm all for giving kids who want to work a job. But being in charge of rides has a great responsibility. One that I don't believe a 14 year old can handle. If there was a medical issue I don't think they would be able to handle it. Nor do I think they should have to deal with it and have to live with a major problem gone wrong.

I was really surprised by this place. Didn’t expect this Christmas themed mini theme park all the way out here in Muskoka. The rides are pretty good for young kids. If your child is about 3.5 years old then they pretty much should be able to get on the ride. The park is not huge but big enough to spend a few hours. The facilities are very well kept and it wasn’t too busy on Thanksgiving weekend.

Absolutely awesome! What a pleasant surprise. We weren't expecting a lot but we were there until close. Perfect ages would be 6-10 (can go on all the rides) The line ups were fairly quick (10-20mins) there is no stroller check so we packed lunches and snacks. There are plenty of picnic tables around the park to take a quick snack break. They keep the magic of Christmas alive in the summer! We also stayed at the camp grounds for 2 nights. The facilities were clean and well maintained with a perfectly sized pool and playground. Highly recommend!

Fun place for the kids, friendly staff - winter is magic . Be prepared for the line to see Santa ! Buy tickets online prior coming so you won’t have to wait at the entrance.overall lovely place with nice rides for the kids
Jennifer Epstein — Google review
It was a lot of fun for the kids (ages 7 and 5). There was an assortment of rides for smaller kids (~4yrs+) as well as slightly older kids (likely fun up to ~9-10 yrs.). Full sized adults can also go on most rides etc. and sometimes are needed to accompany shorter riders.
The staff at the park were great and helped continue the magic for the kids.
Elf school was a must! Do it early since there are activities given that require your movement throughout the park. It only open at 10:30 though so do a ride or two early.

It has been a few years since we went to Santa's Village and added the stop to our road trip. They have been making some changes and updates. For the price, we would have expected a later close. We waited in line more than we have in the past even on a Monday. The kids still had a good time and there was a lot to see even if we didn't do everything.
Shawn N — Google review
Santa's Village is a magical fun place to bring your kids. There are rides, activities, music, food, candy, ice cream, animals and more to entertain the Rugrats. Plenty of shade and seating for breaks. Clean, wholesome and traditional. All the bathrooms are impressively maintained.
The prize games are fun and the novelties are memorable.
The staff is super friendly, helpful, accurate, fun and well spirited working with children. The Reindeer 🦌 were wonderful animals to see.
The overall valued experience here is great. We will return for Christmas time

Beautiful waterfall, i’m so glad this is a provincial park! It’s a short walk to the waterfall, and very much well worth it!

Beautiful waterfall!! Only a short hike from the parking lot. The top of the falls would make for a great picnic spot.

This stop for us was an unexpected one, recommended to us by someone in the area. I am so very grateful for that recommendation. It was very easy to find, plenty of parking, and the hike to the top was not all that difficult at all. If you are taking children though, you will most definitely want to keep them within your reach. It's a nice quick stop along the way. If you are traveling this road, don't skip it!

Everyone going to Algonquin park for a day of hiking should walk this quick trail. Expect to be here between 20-30 minutes. Please be advised that dogs and kids that don't listen to directions should NOT go here.

A beautiful walk in the winter. You have to park at road, the trail is well packed and the falls are just rolling with water and the ice is very nice

Beautiful and fast moving waterfalls!
Be prepared for mucky/muddy walk but definitely worth it. Maybe 10 minutes from the parking lot to the falls. The further up you walk gives you different perspectives from above. Can also walk down to below the falls. Great exploring on the trail seeing wild mushrooms, flowers and various tress too. Spent about 30 minutes.
Andrea Statton — Google review
Did the Kayak in from Algonquin Outfitters up the river to the base of the falls. An amazing river paddle with turtles, frogs, birds, butterflies, and fellow paddlers.
Once at the falls you can climb to the path that takes you to the top of the falls or you can start rock hopping up the falls itself.
Once at the top you can view the power of the water as it cuts through the rocks, take a dip in the moving water (with caution and supervision) or bathe on the rocks in the sun.
A beautiful hike, or paddle to a little gem in nature.

Beautiful waterfall in the spring, definitely recommend going sometime in May to really see it rushing. Bugs were moderate, use bugs pray. There are washrooms, the standard outdoor ones. Limited parking.

The Ragged falls are surprisingly beautiful and easily accessible (just a 300m hike from the parking to the fall). The view of the lake from the falls is nice too. It’s a very serene region.

MUST VISIT - hike or walk is not at all difficult - each and every step you take towards the falls is definitely worth the view

Great hike and paddle here. Amazing fall colors. Fairly easy short hike to fallsand back to parking. You do need to purchase a park day pass

What a stunning and hidden little gem. Not a far walk from the parking lot but mind you, somewhat uphill and no paved pathways. Which in a sense add to the natural beauty.
Visit if you’re in the area. We went on a weekday in Sept so it was nice and quiet and got to sit on the rocks in peace and hear the water

This is a hike you don't want to miss. The Reagan Falls are quite spectacular. Hikers and photographers alike we'll enjoy this Trail. Be prepared for some change an elevations. The Younger You Are the easier they will be. But even as a senior you shouldn't have too much trouble navigating the trail. You won't want to miss the view. Enjoy! 😊

What a beautiful sight this waterfalls was. With trails amongst the trees. Great photo opportunities, and amazing views of the waterfall from different spots. There is a small rapid up past the big falls.
The groomsmen and I surprised my friend to a cottage trip and ATV tour in the area. Hands down the ATV tour was the highlight of the trip!
We were part of a group of six, with four of us (including the groom) in the bachelor party group and a daughter-mother pair. Jacob (our cool guide from Australia) made sure everyone in the group knew what they were doing, and kept everyone safe. He took us on a beautiful four-hour tour that gradually became more technically challenging, and by the end of it, everyone was confidently handling their ATV. We had a couple of small incidents (going off trail or stuck), but Jacob was always there to get us out of any sticky situations. He also made sure we had plenty of short breaks along the way at various beautiful spots. Four hours was perfect - we felt any shorter and you'd leave wanting more.
Most importantly, the groom was surprised and really enjoyed the experience! In fact, everyone in my group loved it. Highly recommend both Jacob and the 4 hour ATV tour at Back Country Tours!
P.S. - make sure to bring a snack (like protein bars) and water.

Very passionate and knowledgeable owner who through stories takes you on a really inspiring tour through the history of maple syrup production right through to present day production at the farm. Small batch local produce is to be treasured. Small on site shop selling the syrup, maple ice cream and other products. Would highly recommend a visit and the maple syrup.
Robert Margariti-Smith — Google review
The best maple ice cream we have ever had! Of course, we walked a bit to explore the maple leaf trees, but there were too many mosquitoes 🦟. We bought some syrup that is supposed to be 100% maple syrup. Additionally, we learned that there are many 'fake' maple syrups being sold in the supermarket...
Wilbur Lo — Google review
Our family got to visit Sugarbush in the summer of 2021 when vacationing nearby. It’s a really nice experience, and the syrup is just perfection! We got a huge bottle of the dark syrup and some ice-cream while we were there. I recommend their syrup to everyone I know.

Friendly owners & good maple syrup. But they can add more activities at the Farm!!
mansimrt sandhu — Google review
If you’re near the area, must visit them.
It’s a very interesting place for you to learn more about the production of maple syrup. The owner Tom was very friendly, shared some great stories with us. Unfortunately due to pandemic, they have a small table set up right outside their store entrance for people to order and purchase their products, there isn’t a store where you can walk around to check out the products.
We were able to try their maple ice cream, which was very unique. In addition we purchased some maple mustard, maple bbq sauce and a maple cheesecake. Really like the taste the cheesecake, in a way the flavour is quite similar to the maple ice cream, well duh maple syrup right. Yes but we do like the cheesecake, they only sell it in frozen whole cake, not selling by slice.
Also, there is this trail right next to it where you can see the maple trees and the whole connection on how the sap is extracted. Very interesting, learned a lot new stuff.
They are closed for winter, so make sure to go or else you go to wait till next year!

Wow, we tasted the best ice cream in the area. It's so pure, no icy flaky feel at all, just the pure cream.
The owners are super nice people. The dog is very friendly. And there's a little cute cat as well.

Dávid Turčan — Google review
Me and my buddy were riding through the twisties in the summer heat, and the only thing on our minds were ice cream. When we saw the signs posted outside this maple farm we couldn't resist. We were welcomed by the world's friendliest dog then by the nicest people serving the best ice cream I've ever had. The ice cream costs $6 for a cup/can. It sounds pricey but both quantitatively and qualitatively they are totally worth it. The can is about the size of one those Greek yogurt cans. And the ice cream itself is more cream than ice. The two cans were sitting in the sun for some 5 minutes (as I sort out the payment. Cash is preferred and I didn't have cash, so I had to E-Transfer the money) and they didn't even melt. They were so ridiculously thick and creamy I broke the plastic spoon trying to scoop it out. The maple syrup taste actually comes from maple syrup rather than "Artificial flavors" like many other "maple syrup flavored" ice cream. Knowing this place exists, I don't mind riding 200 kilometers from Toronto to get a taste of this homemade ice cream.

Lions Lookout is a scenic spot that offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and city below. During fall, the colorful foliage against the backdrop of blue skies and lake is truly breathtaking. However, it can be crowded during peak season and finding parking can be a challenge. To save time, it's recommended to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up to enjoy even more vibrant colors along the way.
Breathtakingly beautiful views!!!
Parking is free whether you park at the top or near the down hill. Small parking lot is available at the top however it gets full pretty fast. So better to park down the hill and walk to the lookout point. There is parking lot on the left side when you arrive. We parked down the hill and walked towards the lookout point. Lookout point is about 5-10 mins walk from down the hill parking lot. The hill is pretty steep. There are 2 roads towards the lookout point, on the right, there is a paved road and on the left hand side there is unpaved walking trail which goes through the trees. The views are fantastic along this trail. We walked up from an unpaved pathway up. Beautiful views to stop and click pictures.
Once you reach to the top you will see the Amazing views of fall colours, forest, town and lake. If you are here in the evening you can capture the beautiful Sunset too.
It gets really crowded in fall season. So plan your visit accordingly.
Overall Beautiful place to stop by when driving through Huntsville and enjoy and appreciate the beauty of fall colours.

The view of fall colours from this point is just mesmerizing..all the fall colours along with the blue sky and blue lake is just breathtaking.. but it’s really crowded in peak season and it’s really difficult to find the parking.. to save time and instead of spending it on finding the parking spot I recommend parking the car down the hill and walking up.. that way you can see more colours on the way up. :)

I drive my tiny-home-on-wheels but had to leave her (Wanda is her name) parked down at the base of this look out as there's no parking for large vehicles up at the look out....which isn't a problem if you don't have mobility issues....it's a five minute walk up/down...but if you DO have mobility issues, not really a place for you to visit (unfortunately). The view is beautiful though and every time I visit Huntsville I go up to enjoy it.

The view from uptop is beautiful. It's the perfect place to take a picnic and spend some time with your friends/family. It's pretty steep if you want to reach really down, wouldn't recommend it as it's slippery and not worth taking the risk as the view from top is way better. Definitely worth visiting.

Beautiful view of the city, lake and surrounding trees. You can either park near the train station and do the 5 minute, step, uphill walk or can drive all the way to the top. There is a red and white gazebo with lots of plaques showing how the view has changed.

Been coming here during fall season five years in a roll. More and more people get to know the place so definitely overcrowded on the weekends. Good amount of walking and climbing prepare you for the breathtaking view. Lions lookout over looks the scenery of the quiet town.

One of the most scenic place you will ever witness. Once you at the top you will experience the breathtaking views of lakes beautiful trees all around mountains. And this place is so peaceful in itself. There is a sufficient parking space all around at the top there are few spots but overall parking is free all around. But try to visit during week days to avoid the crowd and enjoy peace and calmness of the nature.
Must visit this naturally beautiful place if you ever passing through huntsville.

It’s a 3.5 rating to be exact. The place would look better either in summers or full on winters. Though, the view from the top is awesome. There is around 1-1.5km hike which is not tiring at all. Good place to fetch time for oneself and to find soothe.

Beautiful place to see Huntsville from up high, especially if you are visiting in the fall as the colours are beautiful. I visited this lookout two time in fall and early winter. Its Nov 1st and they have closed the lookout for cars but you can walk up there while parking at the bottom. The views are truly beautiful as you can see in the pictures, and the place is relaxing. This is a must see place while in Hunstville.

Loved the breathtaking view of the town and forest from the hill. Fall colors are just amazing from this point.
Close to 15 parking spots are available here. So if you are visiting on weekends during the fall season, you may not get parking easily. Another spot is a little down the hill, where there are enough parking spots available. But you will have to climb up the road. Multiple tables are available, so you can enjoy eating while appreciating the natural scenery.

Arrowhead Provincial Park is a serene natural retreat situated in Huntsville, Canada. This park encompasses a gorgeous lake with sandy beaches, hiking trails, campsites, and equipment rentals which offer visitors opportunities for various outdoor activities like snowshoeing and cross-country skiing during winters. The camping options include car camping, RVs and cabins with amenities like comfort stations, stores, dog beach, picnic shelters and sports rentals for water as well as land activities.
Beautiful winter park. Ski trails are top notch, usually groomed to perfection. The arrowhead lake loop And beaver meadow loop are peaceful and very scenic.
The ice trail is a gem. The fire & ice is a very cool experience. Be careful near the fire pits for uneven ice!
Stubbs falls loop is a nice winter hike too

Nice park. Keep away from site 101, it nice as long as it doesn't rain. The water comes right through camp site. As well they need to replace or clean the picnic tables. Washrooms were not bad condition seeing how many people go throught them and are cleaned once a day. The lake was wonderful. With lots of beaches to chose from. The lakes are sheltered which makes nice condition for paddle boarding and canoeing. It was very quiet at night, l loved that. I will be back. Don't forget to bring bug spray and sun screen.

I first visited Arrowhead PP in winter and it was magical. Was perfect weather with light flurries, and the snow was deep enough to need snowshoes so we had an enjoyable exercise. This was our first time at Arrowhead Provincial Park. It was just as beautiful as the pictures I saw online. It was slightly challenging to find the beach as the signs weren't clear. We went early enough to secure a parking spot. The beach is a couple of minutes away from the parking lot. There are multiple beaches. The view reminded me of Lake Louise with the surrounding hills of trees and the gap in the middle where Arrow Lake runs through. Also, we stopped by Stubb Falls and trekked on the Stubb trail (1.1km trail). Highly recommend if you're looking for a park with views, a waterfall, and trails.

Love this provincial park, been camping there a few times.. the sites in roe campground are amazing.
They have 3 dog beaches, one a pet exercise area and it's beautiful.
The only downside about the pet exercise area is that some people decide to go there to fish and dock off their kayaks/canoes and it scares the dogs.

This is an excellent park, both summer and winter. Staff are great, fun trails to hike.
The markings need to be better near the waterfall. As many people go down stream and have made their own path which can be confused with the main path. This happens both in the winter and summer.
Love that they offer dog friendly camping and dog friendly beaches. Depending on the season, there are some sites that are close to a swampy zone, that can get washed out in heavy rains.
This is a great place to go in the winter, they have equipment rentals, snow shoeing is great here! The Ice and Fire event is a ton of fun.

Great park!
It has several hiking and biking trails, a couple of lakes with beaches with a long shallow part (perfect for kids), and rentals.
It also has a small store with mostly souvenirs, but also some essentials like wood, ice, mosquito repellents, packaged coffee etc.
If you choose to camp here, keep in mind that regular campsites are available in different sizes - small, medium and large. On our medium size we could fit two family sized tents.
They all have picnic table or even two, and a fireplace.
There is also a comfort station, without laundry services though.

Beautiful park for some winter activities! There is a rental shop for gear - note it gets busy and they were short for some common ski boot sizes when we went for a long weekend. The scenery in the park is beautiful all around and there is a decent amount of parking. The fire and ice skating trail is also super cool and magical at night. I'd love to come back in the summer someday.

Loved this park! My partner & I visited early September 2023 during a heat wave actually and it was gorgeous. Easily a new favourite out of the muskoka region.
Pros: large private sites, clean amenities, lots of scenic hikes, multiple beaches, lots of dogs (dog beach + exercise area), great parks store, major area of Huntsville within 15 minutes for amenities/supplies.
Cons: literally the canoe/kayak/paddle board rental. This is directly off the beach area and you are required to lift the rentals over your head and onto the rental rack. Lucky my partner & I could help each other but if you’re a solo renter you might be struggling! Also lots of folks mention hearing highway noise from this park, there are several sites closer to the highway but the noise hardly transfers. It’s got both regular & radio free camping areas both of which get minimal noise in my opinion.

Absolutely beautiful and refreshing break from the city. Nice shops, ice cream parlors, antique stores and restaurants. Everyone were very friendly as we walked along the docks and paths.
A must visit even if just a day to get away from the city.
The only downside is that horrible 400N drive up until Barry, it gets pleasant and scenic after that.

HydroSpa Muskoka, situated at the JW Rosseau Resort in Muskoka, offers tranquil and rejuvenating experiences surrounded by nature. The spa overlooks the serene Lake Rosseau and boasts of a seasonal pool with one of the most breathtaking views in Muskoka. The ancient water techniques including saunas, hot tubs and showers alternated with hot and cold water therapy ensure complete body revitalization for visitors.
The entire spa was surprisingly big, stretching 2 floors on the lower level of the resort. The amenities were amazing, the view a beautiful view of Lake Rosseau.
My relaxation massage was perfect. Shout out to my skilled masseuse Kenaline. Sorry if I butchered your name but my massage will be remembered.

Facial was good but the rest of the spa wasn’t great. Some of the amenities weren’t very clean, a number of the features weren’t available/weren’t working, there was a lack of variety in the refreshments available, and the overall atmosphere felt a little dated. Compared to what you get with other spas around (Elora Mill, Scandinave, Spa Nordic, etc.) this was way overpriced. Likely good for hotel guests when it is included with the room but I don’t recommend going just for the spa on its own.
Renee Ramji — Google review
For $100 day pass, this fell short of expectations. There are only two massage chairs and no sign up sheet / wait list so you spend a chunk of your time awkwardly waiting in the hall for people to finish. The salt cave room is literally a tiny room with 3 salt lamps that you can buy from Costco. Saunas were good especially the barrel sauna. Oxygen bar was out of order and we weren’t told before purchasing. No one behaves like it’s a spa and there were a bunch of boisterous guests and people talking; not very relaxing. Would not recommend.

Men's room was clean...both hot tubs not working..hydro massager is old and used and cracking. Zero feeling of a spa. Even the salt "cave" is just a room with salt scattered around..went to use the outside saunas, which were nice. Only to be interrupted by half a hockey team of 18yr. Old boys cramming themselves into it with us..save yourself the money..

My mum and I booked wraps and facials to celebrate our birthdays. It was everything we hoped it would be! I'm a former spa therapist myself, and I couldn't have done any better. Both of us had an incredible spa experience. Great value for the service! Definitely recommend ❤️

attended last weekend on my honeymoon. Firstly, the staff was fantastic - very friendly and eager to help. Unfortunately, the spa facilities in and of themselves left much to be desired for the price and marriott relationship. Many tiles broken around pool, and much seemed to just be "fitted" in. No cold pool - there is a cold shower. I think there is an effort here but for $100 each for a day pass i would expect more. Will not return.

Aster gave me one of THE BEST massage I’ve ever received. She focused on the areas I was interested in. She checked in with me a few times to make sure I was enjoying the experience and beyond that let me just enjoy quietly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fantastic experience! Went in the winter time and it wasn’t too busy on the weekend. A beautiful escape with outdoor hot tub, pool, and saunas overlooking the grand lake.
❄️ Snow flakes falling on your hair from the steam in the cold.
💰 A great deal for $100 all day access to the oxygen bar, massage chairs, salt room, and more. Never found a better all-inclusive spa experience.
♥️ I’d totally make the day trip from Toronto to come here!!

Have been planning our getaway for 4 months. Last year when we came to Rosseau the spa was fully booked so we were disappointed but were determined to try it again when we came the next this. We Called the spa this time immediately back in August to book for December and they told us it was too early to book, which we understood. We called again at the end of September and they said they only had availability for one massage in the 3 days we were coming on. They advised us to call closer to to the date to see if they had more availability. Called in November and they said they were fully booked and you have to call at least 3 months in advance. We asked to speak to a manager on multiple occasions no one ever returned our calls. We arrived, and called the spa on a whim, and they told us they were fully booked, but we could book about a week in advance. So many different things being told to us, we are SO disappointed. We understand there might be staffing issues, but so many different things being told to us.

First time at a spa so take review with grain of salt.
TLDR - not worth the 100 per person.
Pros
-going back and forth in the sauna and cold shower was fun
Cons
- men’s steam room was broken which we were not told until we already paid
- massage chairs also broken
- salt cave is really a room with a bit of salt on floor.

Spa was clean, not crowded and l comfortable. Many amenities including several baths, indoor sauna (there is an outdoor) and the pool deck were cluttered with service equipment or closed/broken. The massage chairs, and outdoor pool/hot tub were lovely. Expensive given maintenance state and overall amenities.
Brandon Bell — Google review
My husband and I purchased a day pass for the Hydro Spa. We pre-booked online and stayed at the hotel overnight. The staff at the spa were very friendly, however, the Hydro Spa experience was really disappointing. The only cold experience is a small outdoor shower. We've been to many similar facilities and every single one of them had at least one cold plunge pool. The massage room on the circuit consists of two massage chairs (like you would find at a nail salon) and one foot massage machine. Every time we tried to use them, they were in use so we gave up. We were really looking forward to the salt cave and it was the biggest let down. Most salt caves have walls and floors covered in salt. There is barely any salt in the room and there are no instructions on what you're supposed to do in there. We were in there for a couple of minutes when a table in the corner started making a fan sound. Is this table the salt source? The lack of salt leads you to believe that this isn't really a salt cave. Again, we have been to other salt caves elsewhere that were much more impressive and effective. The oxygen bar was unattended and there weren't any instructions on how to use it so we skipped it. The outdoor saunas were ok, but nothing special. The outdoor pool was nice and warm. The outdoor hot tub was nice, but it had a bunch of dead wasps floating in it. The steam room in the men's change room was broken. Some small food options would go a long way here, especially if you plan to stay for an entire day. If you want to eat, you have to leave the spa and go upstairs to the hotel and then go back down. This isn't very practical when you're in a bathing suit and robe. The $100 per person price point is way too high for this location. The basic concept of a Hydro Spa is there, but the facilities are not indicative of a true Hydro Spa experience. Had we known, we would have just gone to the hotel pool for the day instead. We will not be back to this Hydro Spa. As frequent Marriott guests, we also felt the Spa wasn't reflective of the high standard of a hotel as nice as the JW Marriott Rousseau. On a side note, we loved the hotel itself. It's in a beautiful location and the staff are top notch.

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Muskoka, The Rock has gained recognition as one of Canada's premier golf destinations. With a variety of courses ranging from 9-hole to championship layouts, it offers an exceptional golfing experience amidst the stunning granite outcroppings of the Canadian Shield. Boasting a challenging yet enjoyable 6,150-yard course suitable for all skill levels, accuracy is paramount due to its unique terrain.
Tough course but absolutely beautiful and really fun holes on this course. Kept in the best condition you can find. This is the course we will always play when you in the Muskoka area! Great food after too.

Extremely slow round of golf, front of house pro shop and back shop are poorly organized. They allowed a fivesome to play on a busy Sunday afternoon. Drink cart came on the second and 18th hole. I’d fire the GM if I was the board managing the club.

Called and made a tee time after a tournament finished at 220. Traveled internationally with all our equipment. Showed up at 2pm and then they wouldn’t even let us play after the tournament finished. Claimed they didn’t have our reservation. Was told the woman I spoke to no longer worked there. Absolutely no attempt to accommodate us. Disappointed is an understatement. Poor way to do business

Excellent course, service and clubhouse. A true gem in the Muskoka's, The Rock is challenging yet fun for golfers of all skill levels. At 6,150 yards playing from the gold's will present a challenge. For more of a test the blacks play longer. Accuracy is key as the course is carved out of the Canadian Shield and a miss hit to the rocks can send you ball flying in a direction you weren't intending. The tee blocks, fairways and greens are in excellent condition. The clubhouse is very nice with friendly and fast staff waiting to help. The turn house offers items on the BBQ for a quick bite without having to go into the club house. Great location. It is directly across the street from the Marriott. Highly recommend.

My favorite muskoka course to play.
Always in great condition never backed up and waiting with a great pace of play. Get lost in the wilderness often with wildlife sightings close by helps you get right into the golf zone and relax.
Lion lawn cuts — Google review
A moderately challenging course that lives up to its name. Be aware that the road must be crossed to access some of the holes, and there is a 600+ yrd par 5 that is a little bit on the "long" side.
Jeff van Leeuwen — Google review
Course was in mint condition - excellent use of the unique geography. A bit of a ridiculous layout - good shots are not always rewarded, especially around the greens.
The staff at the clubhouse seemed completely confused trying to send us out - and the $5 to use the range before your round is pretty chintzy given the green fee rate.
Mark U — Google review
Very nice golf course. Extremely challenging but course is in great condition. Greens are very fast, almost to the point of being unfair. However, for the price of $85 getting a round, cart and dinner is worth it.
Anthony Guarino — Google review
Pretty place but the layout is too difficult for the average golfer. Holes are designed with impossibly narrow Fairways, so you constantly lose balls. Approach shots make you scratch your head as to how you will navigate the hazards with the all the granite. All this leads to long rounds and waiting for people to find balls. Add in the cart path only rule when we played in September (not warranted) and it made for a frustrating day for our entire group.
We will NOT be returning. We were all cursing Nick Faldo. He designed this gold course for professional golfers in the middle of cottage country.
Arup M — Google review
Looking for a challenge intertwined with granite boulders running through the fairways? The Rock has it all and an amazing clubhouse as well which has great food and entertainment on Sundays. We always stay at the Clevlands House and purchase the stay and play which is good value. If you are on the Rock's mailing list you will receive an offer in December for a foursome with cart for $200 .. this is a great add on to the stay and play and provides awesome value for 2 days of golf.

nice course but the current staff take away from a great property. Most of the staff are unkind and resentful. The price of a round here has gotten too high for guests to have to put up with it.

Also a taste of The Screaming HEADS here ! Be careful with small kids as there are some dangerous areas here .

A lovely place to begin your time in Burk's Falls! It features a screaming head sculpture (a preview of the field of screaming heads in town), a sculpture of local arm-wrestling champ Greg Boyes, a covered bridge overlooking a dam, as well as a beautiful scenic trail. This is a great place to bring the family and explore for an hour or two before continuing your time in the town!

An interesting property to walk around and explore, with lots of art and nature to check out! Be aware that spots along the path are not stroller friendly, though that may not be the case in drier months. There is also a disc golf course throughout the property, so you do need to be mindful if people are playing.

Such a cool concept, I definitely want to return during the season to get the full experience. This was a stop on the way home from Sudbury and was totally worth the detour! The surrounding area is beautiful countryside and the scenic route that we took brought forth dreams of moving out to the region. The site itself is like something out of a Tim Burton movie with all these eerie sculptures placed around the property, there are trails and disc golf baskets scattered throughout (whether there's a legit course or just random placement has yet to be determined). I will be back sometime this summer !

An amazing place and one of the kind! Must visit to enjoy! This time of the year the grass is higher, but makes the place more unique. The property is huge with parking lot and small shops (open mainly on the weekend, but if ask the owner to open, you can get few items) on one side and more statues on another side of the road. The history of the place is great too. Hard to describe the emotions; you need to visit to experience. Little bit far on the drive, but worth every penny. Bring cash for shopping and donations!

Just thank you! It was a great afternoon, and I will be back in warmer weather for a picnic. My grandson loved it. A beautiful place to walk around.
The whole property is an art installation that is generously open to the public for a look see.
I wish the artist had been out and about. My grandson had some questions, but hopefully another time.

Totally unreal place. Looks like it came out of a storybook. Gives off creepy vibes.
When you first enter through, there is a sign for parking. Before you start, consult with the staff at the Screaming Threads shop to get a general idea where to go and what to look out for. The staff are wonderful
Bug repellent is your best friend and make sure to bring a water bottle. We spent nearly an hour and a half roaming around at the different sculptures and various displays so give yourself time. It is a fairly easy hike around the premises. Across the street, there are even more sculptures, mainly the transforming screaming head and the screaming trees. To view the castle with the two dragon heads, it can be seen from the road and a beautiful sight.
Respect to the Artist Peter Camani for not only making the sculptures but planting the trees around.

Very cool art installation in a gorgeous setting. This is a fantastic spot to go for a walk, see some art, and take in a social commentary on our existence/infrastructure and nature/the environment. Great beers at South River Brewing Company! Looking forward to their new Joey - a low alcohol (2.5%) IPA that tastes like a full alcohol IPA! Love the taste!
I think low alcohol or non-alcoholic beer is the fastest growing market segment! Perfect for those who want a great beer without the alcohol - and the low calories are a blessing too!

Really, in my opinion, I’ve never had a better tasting Ontario craft brew. A true Pilsner taste is hard to come by outside Europe but when I stumbled across South River Brewery’s “Rye Road Pale Ale” I fell in love with it on the spot! Lovely staff at Mikisew. Every staff member appears to love working at this park. The park has so many little things that make it special. Discovery kits at the front for kids, hand sanitizer outside the outhouses & comfort stations are always clean.

A beautiful, quiet park to appreciate the splendor of autumn! Eagle lake is beautiful. You can rent canoes and paddleboards here. The trails we were able to hike were wonderful. The other trails suffered from the recent rains so we were unable to do a couple of the trails. There is so much to see and do here. We will be back next fall!

This park is absolutely stunning with its exceptional infrastructure. While they do permit dogs, their strict policy requiring all dogs to be on a leash seems excessive. It raises the question of why one would visit such a natural setting only to have their beloved pet constantly restrained. If you are a dog owner seeking a more liberating experience, I would recommend exploring alternative camping options where you and your furry friend can enjoy a more fulfilling adventure.

The best camping site I’ve been in Ontario! Perfect weather, few bugs, facilities were always clean and maintained in optimal condition. They have a garbage bin inside the park which is great (No need to find a place outside). The site has different beaches including one for pets. Water was crystal clean and not too cold. You can fish and rent kayaks and other water toys. Great place for family. At nights the guards walk around the park to keep everyone safe. Can’t wait to be back.

Most if not all the campsites are nicely treed and cozy. 2 nice beaches, nice lake. Was my 1st time here. Liked it so much I switched my next camping trip from Arrowhead to here later this year!

We recently visited this campground as a somewhat last min decision and were pleasantly surprised.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the park itself is quite clean with nice showers and comfort station. The out house style toilets are never my favorite but as far as they go I found them decent and they seemed to be cleaned as well.
The actual lots vary, we loved the huge tree in the middle of ours to set up our tarps/ tent and it wasn’t a small space either. We did however find it to be lacking in privacy as there is next to no foliage on the ground to separate the camps sites. If surrounding campers use floodlights or any bright lighting (which I’m not sure your allowed to use but I don’t know for sure) it will beam right into your site if it is aimed in your direction. The way the fire pits are arranged kind of exasperate this issue as well. Nice big fire pits though, ours had a large metal grate that you could lift over the fire itself which was nice.
They do not have any washing stations though so you are essentially doing your dish washing on your own campsite.
I didn’t find there was a lot of bugs at all, we also went at a time that was mostly drizzling and cloudy making the water not as inviting as one would like.
But the three beaches are very small, with people camping out under sun shades in the small amount of space were the sun is actually hitting the beach so that’s not great. Parking is limited as well. Still a very pretty lake view with lovely little islands in the distance.
Overall the scenery is lovely, quiet and the beautiful little squirrels, chipmunks and bird varieties make the place extra special.
We had a very good time and enjoyed walking the trails. Highly recommend

It's a very nice park. I don't know if it blows in -- and I'm hoping that's what it is from -- but I've notice some litter in some of the boundary areas of the park.
Overall it's still a great place for a walk. You will be surrounded by wildlife be aware that with the vast forested areas around some of it may be large animals.
There are several beaver lodges in view of the park so there's a good chance of seeing one.

Good place to stop with your dog when travelling through Ontario.

Quick access from the brule st parking to some easy going and beautiful hiking trails. Not much elevation to deal with but there's rocks and tree roots underfoot. Good for kids with lots of benches for rest stops. The fall colours are amazing. A real gem in the middle of the city.

Beautiful walking trail. First of July still lots of bugs. Enough shaded areas to cool things off with the warm weather. We'll go back for sure.

Clean and absolutely peaceful outdoors
Many amazing spots if you are planning a picnic
Absolutely recommended if you are looking for a short hike.

A great spot for a walk and the proposed boardwalk is now built. Spent a little over an hour walking around here, lots of benches to sit and enjoy the area. Unfortunately, and not through the fault of the park at all, there is a dump next to a part of this park, which ruins the view in that area.

Very beautiful even with how close it is to town but kind of easy to get lost if you’re new to it

We were on a trip from Ottawa to Timmins and needed to stretch our legs, what a great spot!! Lots of trails and pretty popular but not overcrowded !
4.2Amazing park. 3 beaches (one with a volleyball net) to choose from. Dog beach. Off leash area. Most of the sites we saw had a great distance between them, meaning great privacy. Paddling, biking and hiking will keep you busy for your stay. Washrooms and comfort stations are well... comfortable. We will definitely be back in the future. We would recommend this site.
Note: the reason why 4.2 was given is because Restoule lake is shared with cottages. They can get noisey at times and the sound will Travel across the lake.

We did car camping at this provincial park. We also hiked a lot of their trails - including the Fire Tower Trail which is a moderate hike and with a great view! The park is clean with a lot of comfort stations / vault toilets also kept very clean. The trails are well marked and easy to find. There are a couple of easy paddle in campsites as well which means there are a variety of activities for all skill levels. The one downside of this park as well as many others is that the campsites are not the most private and are close together, meaning that if you have loud neighbours (like we did) it can damper your experience. Overall it was a good time….would probably go back to check out the paddle in sites but that’s it.

My wife and I our 4 night stay here, found the fire tower trail a nice half day activity. The lookout over Stormy lake was the highlight (there is no lookout at the fire tower). We rented a canoe and paddled around Stormy Lake - found a secluded beach for a stop and a back country campsite for lunch. We enjoyed our visit. The kettle Point campground is well serviced and the comfort stations were clean. Park staff were helpful.

Walked to the fire tower as a nice mid winter hike. Winter has been mild so the snow wasn't too deep but was mucky along the way. Great view from the lookout and a nice spot to have a snack at the tower before heading back down. Great hiking trail!

What can I say, Restoule is a beautiful place. The views from the dock to the cliff side overlooking Stormy. The park amenities are well kept and clean. Our campsite was excellent. Some sites are a little wet and/or swampy. The roads are easy to navigate however some turns are alittle tight if you have a trailer longer than 30 feet. Overall great experience a definite must visit park.

We got a group site, you need 15 people minimum to book this site. It was huge, secluded and so much fun. We had a mini beach to be shared between two group sites.
The park was nice, the beach was very nice and sandy. Also water was quite shallow as well, so warmed up fast.
Bathrooms were not so clean. It was always wet, muddy and extremely smelly. I wish people would wipe after themselves. My biggest complaint about this provincial park.
Also mosquitoes. They ate us up. They were mutant mosquitoes - so large and hairy.

It's one of my all-time favourite campgrounds. Restoule is a beautiful park with incredible lakes, trails, and camping. Beautiful vistas while canoing their many waterways and clear waters for swimming! The washroom and shower facilities were clean and well maintained. The park wood was terrible as it was wet and did nothing but sizzle.
Nice dock for launching canoes and kayaks.

Great park! Lots of hiking, great trails with various degrees of difficulty. Amazing views from the Tower trail but could be difficult for beginners. Sites were small but spread apart from neighbors and the dog beach was great for my lab!

Went camping here last last summer. The camp site was great, the comfort stations were very clean. I spent my entire time chilling by the beach and enjoying star-watching, but my friends did fun things like kayaking and fishing too. Great place to go with friends and family :)

Spent only one night here at Kettle Point site 467. Was shaded with beautiful trees mostly sandy and levelled grounds. Each site comes with 2 picnic tables, fire pit, and privacy was great. Comfort station had showers which were very clean and the water was hot. I found this provincial park with very clean laundry facilities. Bathrooms were cleaned daily. The star gazing was amazing from the lake at night. People were friendly and park was fairly quiet. Dog beach was great, we enjoyed the water and made a few friends. Paddle boarding on the lake was great, not much boat traffic and the water was warm and clean. Overall was a magical getaway, and highly recommend bringing your loved one here for a romantic experience. Definitely coming next year for sure. Next time going to spend more nights there.

We had a great time! The powered sites are a bit less private than the non powered sites but a great park nonetheless. We spent 4 nights here in 2 sites and we especially loved our second site with it's own private beach. If it's available get a waterfront site, it's worth it. Lots of hiking, mountain biking and canoe/kayak trails and routes.

Spent a few nights here camping, site 37. Was shaded with afternoon sunshine, mostly sandy and level. Two picnic tables, fire pit, and privacy was great. Comfort station had showers which were very clean and the water was hot. Laundry facilities available. Bathrooms were cleaned daily. Was able to hear the loons from the lake at night and the star gazing was amazing. People were friendly and park was fairly quiet. Dog beach was great, my girl enjoyed the water and made a few friends. Paddle boarding on the lake was great, not much boat traffic and the water was warm and clean. Overall was a magical getaway, and highly recommend bringing your loved one here for a romantic experience.

So far so good!! Since I was little I have seen the signs on Hwy 522 pointing to Restoule PP and have always wanted to go. Well here I am! Our site is great, but complete shade. The beach is wonderful, and we are about to go hiking! More pictures and thoughts to come.

Perfect place to distress but not recommended for the weekend as it is much busier and noisy. It is not what I would expect from people who come to visit this spectacular place. Around 9pm, 5 cars arrived to the camp near us, all parked in 2 camping sites. The cars were left running for at least an hour with their headlight pointing right on us while we were enjoying our camp fire. People were talking loud, totally disturbing the peace and quietness of this lovely place. No respect for anyone around them. World has changed around us. There should be fines for those who disrespect provincial parks. How else are we going to change peoples' bad habits. Not to mention all the emission polutions from cars being left to run. Shame on you people!
Family-friendly attraction featuring 2 classic carousels & a miniature train ride along the lake.
I've been taking my kids to the Train and Carousel for 20 years now! I have 3 boys all 10 years apart so we've been going for a long time! The volunteers are always very friendly and the rides are kept up nicely. There is a short wait for the train sometimes, but well worth it as the kids love it. Location is great too, so beautiful down at the Waterfront. ☺️

This place was so admirable as it had boats and cruise. We can see people fishing and kids playing around the small park. Had a small train for kids which takes adults as well, it was so much fun when we took a round along with kids. We had lunch at the cruise hotel and no complaints it was good 👍
Last but not the least the old aged employees were so sweet. They always had a smile on their face and inspired us so much. Best example for a great customer service. They are the best and gave us so much energy when we spoke to them. 10 stars for them and my salute 🫡

Absolutely loved coming here with my toddler. An inexpensive tourist/ local attraction. Staff are experienced in serving the public. Tickets are $2 each, 3 for $5 or 7 for $10. They also offer group rates. If you save your tickets. It offers $2 off the North Bay Train Museum. There are two different carousels rides and a small Train that goes around a large track for about 5-10minutes. Lots of parking available either at the carousels or across at the waterfront or on Oak Street at the train station Museum which there is a tunnel you can walk through that gives you access to waterfront carousels.

Love carousels and my friend loves trains. It was a hit for both of us. Price of $2 per ride is low enough for family enjoyment. I particularly liked learning the origin/history of the carousel.

Not to be missed !!!!!
Can’t afford to miss it!! I am 25 year old and I still went on the carousel and the railway and had a great time. I went during sunset and it was so beautiful on the train, The carousel gives you the old school vibe and will make you nostalgic.
The price is so cheap, I was expecting a much higher ticket price, coming from Toronto.

Cute place to spend 10-15 minutes. Nice and friendly volunteers. Free parking and just on the other side of the road from the water and beach. Train ride was fun for the kids as were the carrousels. 7 rides for 10 dollars or one ride for 2 dollars.
