Krabi City Seaview
Hotel
The Krabi City Seaview hotel is a modest establishment that features simple yet comfortable accommodations and an informal restaurant with panoramic ocean vistas. During our three-night stay in two of their unpretentious rooms, we found the 2-star property to be ideal for our needs. The balcony room we stayed in offered breathtaking views that have left a lasting impression on us. Its location, which is only a ten-minute walk from Krabi city center, was also convenient.
We had 2 rooms and stayed 3 nights. As a 2 star hotel it is perfect. Especially balcony room. It has a awesome view never can forget. Good location about 10 minutes walking to Krabi city centre. Cleanliness is ok but bathroom in see view room (without balcony) need urgent renew. Stuffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast serves semi buffet but good quality and sufficient. I will come back here for sure.

Only 10min walk to night markets. The hotel is next to the park with nice view of the river/sea gate. Room is clean, old style furnitures.
Something to consider:
- no elevator (but low stairway)
- in room: no slippers, no complimentary water
- in bathroom: quite small, slippery if wet floor

No windows open very poor ventilation just a rented room
Dan Ward — Google review
Room smelled, there is no sea view from the rooms, to be fair there is no view at all from the rooms. Cockroaches in the bathrooms and ceilings falling apart. There's no staff at night at the reception so when I locked myself from the room at night there was nobody to open the door, and no phone number to call. At least it was very cheap.
Leal lil — Google review
We choose this place because is near the pier (about 800m). If you don't want to be underground without the window, don't choose the cheapest room. It was really dark and small. But maybe for one night with low budget can be ok. Up the roof is small place where the breakfast is served and from here is very nice view.
Ladislav Kocián — Google review
Please don't go there. First of all it's way too expensive for what you get. The only good thing about this place is the short distance to the nightmarket an the nice receptionist. The first room we had had such a dirty shower and toilet. And the room was smelling like mold. So we got another room with at last a somewhat cleaner bathroom but still you didn't want to touch the shower. It was still smelling like mold and we foud some mold on the bedsheed. We endet up sleeping with a plastic sheet over the bed because we spend way too much on this hotel.

A truly budget hotel but with great river views. Quiet position, located in Krabi Town on the riverside. 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants, street food and coffee shops. Hotel really needs some TLC but OK for the money. Rooms spacious and clean but basic. Bathroom also large but in need of some decoration! No safe in room. Top floor rooms (5th floor) have best views. You will need to book a 'deluxe' room as this appears to be their 'best'. Breakfast very basic with no Thai option. Served on the 5th floor open balcony which is nice. Very friendly staff. River Pier just 5 minute walk for access to Long-tail boats and ferries to all of the islands.
Neil Thompson — Google review
Stayed during low season - great river location with nice rooftop and garden terraces. Room was a bit small but clean and the host is so helpful and accommodating. Near night food market. Love the river walk-perfect for a run!
Located near the Malaysia border, Hat Yai is a vast commercial and shopping center in southern Thailand. The Khlong Hae Floating Market offers local delicacies and handcrafted goods sold from traditional boats at the canal. A significant attraction here is Wat Hat Yai Nai temple that boasts of its impressive 35 meters long reclining Buddha statue.

We stayed here overnight. The reception lady accommodate and allow us to check in early. Our room cost 1000 baht. We have a nice view to the beach and the room is spacious. They have other rooms as well but the one we stayed is N2. Wishing this place keeps its service and price reasonable. Thank you very much.

Nang Yuan Island, also known as Koh Nang Yuan, is a beautiful and picturesque island in Koh Tao that boasts a sandy beach and is popular for snorkeling and diving. The island is covered in lush foliage, with aquamarine waters and white sands that create a vibrant atmosphere. Visitors can hike to the top of the hill for panoramic views of this heavenly piece of land.
How to get to Koh Nang Yuan Viewpoint
The viewpoint on Koh Nang Yuan offers one of the most famous and photographed panoramas in Thailand.
Featured on postcards all over the world, it’s well worth taking the time to pay a visit and to try snorkeling and hike up to the viewpoint.
Well Mrteam — Google review
That is the one beautiful Island in the world, top 5 in Thailand, here include 3 small islands near each other. After ebb tide during 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. you will see sand road, walking path of each island. This is amazing!
Fredricksen — Google review
250baht fee entry, you are not allowed to go in with fins, also all corals are dead. There is just some small fishes and thats it.
David But — Google review
Highly highly highly recommend this place for people to enjoy snorkeling without any diving or swimming knowledge. White sands, clear water with beautiful fishes and crabs in sight. It’s a short boat ride from Koh Tao to Koh Nang Yuan. You need to pay small entrance fee and no food or plastic is allowed. Island closes at 5, so be sure to go there early morning to spend the whole day. You can rent snorkeling equipment from there and enjoy. There are also hiking paths and places to view the islands from above.
Sally — Google review
( these photo were taken on April 7th) ⭐️⭐️I recommend you to book a trip to the island in advance so you can have a tour guide. (and in the ferry you have complimentary stay in vip room ) The island tour includes a buffet lunch. Some of the spots I took were from the private zones of the tour. the tour start It's very early in the morning so there aren't many people yet. Recommend you to come after Songkran in Thailand onwards. because during Songkran there will be a lot of people 💥 If you want privacy Let's come Monday to Friday. small island but bright water It's very hot during the day. You can rent diving equipment from the water shop. But there is also a deposit (~1000baht)
Yuta ookotsu — Google review
Fantastic island, beautiful. There are so many ways to get to it. Different packages from scober diving to just hiring one the small boats a total of 1250 Bhat return, there was five of us so potentially, try and hangle the price down if there are less of you.
BE WARNED THERE IS A ISLAND TAX OF 250 BHAT PER person that nobody tells you about until you get there.
Great beaches, sunshine, and clear water, perfect for snokling.
Don't forget your bug spray!
Steven stennett — Google review
This is a beautiful island to visit, there isn’t much choice on where to buy any snacks whilst visiting. And no plastic is allowed to enter island, any plastic bottles are taken away when entering and paying the entrance fee. If you head up to the view point be prepared for a little queue on the final section. (The hike is not a long walk so a little wait is ok for a quick picture).
Nathan Saxon — Google review
Incredible island. Entrance is not cheap but what’s the point to go to Koh Tao without visiting Nang Yuan island. Go early morning to avoid tons of tourists.
Antoine Heren — Google review
One of the most beautiful islands of Thailand , this can be reached by a boat ride from koh samui. There are options of some hotel if you want to spend a night. But yes, that night would be damn right in the lap of nature with only sounds of the waves. Can also be reached for a day trip. Definitely a must visit if you are in koh samui. Little hiking is required to reach the viewpoint but once you reach the view is mind blowing.
Saptarshi Chaudhuri — Google review
Nang Yuan Island is one of the top things to visit in Koh Tao and there is a reason for that. This uniquely shaped island is extremely beautiful and focuses on being a green island as well. You can for example not bring any plastic bottles on the island.
The hike to the viewpoint is steep, with lots of mosquitoes, but the view is 100% worth it.

I’ve never seen such an incredible and beautiful place !!! Everything is out of this world. WOW wow wow. This is heaven
Dreaming about coming back 🥰
Nicole F. — Google review
Viewpoint is worth the climb and wait, just be prepared to queue and do not forget mosquito repellent. Would advise bringing your own/hired snorkels with you as they are expensive on the island compared to on koh tao. Beautifully clear waters
Alexandra Peacey — Google review
My 1-day tour here was simply awesome! The ocean was so clear, it brought me pure happiness. Snorkeling in the clean waters allowed me to see vibrant fishes and amazing creatures. It's a must-visit spot for an unforgettable experience.
Amy — Google review
Yes it’s beautiful island, the shape of the island, the color of the water, view from the hill etc
But the island is packed with tourists and corals are mostly dead. It felt like a graveyard of corals. There are so many better islands for snorkeling. So I won’t recommend the snorkeling tour. Was bit of a joke…
Hika P — Google review

Seashell Resort Koh Tao is a beautiful tropical retreat located on Sairee Beach, offering stunning sea views and airy villas that feature traditional Thai decor with Balinese influences. The resort boasts an outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi, and an on-site diving center that offers courses for guests. Guests can also enjoy seafront dining and the option to stay in rooms with private pools. The staff is welcoming and helpful, while the breakfast has numerous choices available.
Lovely staff, room is good, breakfast also fine with a lot of choices, food is also good, many swimming pools, honestly nothing bad to say, maybe the WiFi which is not so efficient for WFH. The hotel is located right on the beach. My second stay here and there will definitely have more to come
Julien BLANC — Google review
Location on the backpacker strip. Walking distance to the beach. The Pool is not on the beach and a bit run down. (Although if you pay more there is a 'private' pool, but everyone walking past can see you)
The room is small and very basic which would be fine if it wasn't overpriced. there is a lack of plugs in the room. Couldn't boil the kettle. I had to put it on the bed to boil while using the plug. Breakfast is an additional 250 baht which is average at best. The scuba diving part of seashell wanted to charge us 3000baht for two dives.( Special price for guests) Whereas just down the road was 2000baht.

AVOID!!
We got here through booking.. they had an offer for a room with A/C. When we got there was an Scam, they dont have any room with A/C at that price, just the bungalow under the sun with fan. After showing them how your booking says clearly A/C. They will blame Booking and give you 2 options.. or upgrade the room to get A/C (almost double price of the offer) or cancel the booking and go somewhere else (obviusly you will lose the money of the booking). They will tell you to call booking to short everything out.. knowing that Booking can not help with this at all.
Also the pics from the resort are from when they open the resort.. rooms are old, dirty, mold smell. The pool area was abandon one of them half empty green water bc of that was full of mosquitos everywhere.
I wouldn’t recommend this place
Shey M. — Google review
Reception gentlemen was cold and unwelcoming. Check out time of 11 am was not extended for even an hour without 30% room tariff ! Buffet breakfast tables had ants. The staff there was either chitchatting or watching YouTube instead of checking on the guests needs. Quantity and quality of fruits was poor. Overall infrastructure, location and cleanliness was decent but way below than what you expect from a $80 per night property. So if you get it in under $40, go for it. Otherwise go for better available options.

Lovely hotel. My family, myself and my boyfriend stayed for 2 nights in 2 rooms, and on our second day we got to change rooms so we could have a bungalow. They allowed us to check into our new rooms early and were very helpful. Pool is very clean, just beware of the diving classes happening throughout the day in the hotel swimming pool. The hotels neighbouring restaurant offers a lovely breakfast on the beach. Highly recommend this hotel, very clean, very beautiful!

Fantastic place to stay. Big spacious room and large bed, it is a firm mattress though. Lovely room and bathroom, shower is is good pressure. Great to walk out onto the patio and into the pool. Cleaned regularly and room serviced.
Lynz Wilmshurst — Google review
Good location but facilities nowhere as advertised.
Rooms were big enough but totally outdated. Bed was not comfortable (too hard) while humidity in the room was present for my whole stay (5nights).
If you are looking for a place nearby the hotspots this couls be the place. If you are looking for relaxing stay to enjoy the island and having commodities at your hotel, I would not recommend.
Sergi Ricart (Snarko) — Google review
First thing we noticed when entering the room was a very strong mold smell. If you have back problems or spinal issues do not stay here. The beds are like sleeping on the floor, the hardest I've ever slept on. The air con was super old and didn't work properly. The safe broke down and wasn't even secured to the wall. The bathroom cupboards were falling apart. It is a good location but the resort is in desperate need of repair. It is very unloved. Also their internet across the resort is incredibly slow and almost unusable. I would not recommend this place as a restful place to stay.
Robbie Lockie — Google review
Very good location, lovely pool, and really really friendly staff who help you with bookings, etc.
However, the whole place feels a bit run down, the room is extremely outdated, the locks on the doors don't work properly, and neither did the shower.
Jack Tudor — Google review
I would like to preface that my girlfriend and I stayed in a bungalow and I heard some of the other rooms were nicer. However, I would not recommend staying here or in the bungalows. These rooms were clearly super dated and ours even had little openings in the ceilings. This was perfect for letting mosquitoes in. I can tell this place used to be nice, but that’s not the case anymore. Additionally, our sheets were stained and the shower on our second day had no water pressure and it was cold. The pool was green so I wouldn’t dare let anyone I care about jump in. Lastly, I am writing this review on cellular because there is absolutely no WIFI in the bungalows that works. The only upside to this place is the location…
Dylan O — Google review
The place is nice and close from bars, restaurants, shops. The swimming pool is beautiful and there is a dedicated one for learning to dive.
The rooms are ok but quite a bit loud at night. You easily heard your neighbor when they walk on the floor and the walls are very thin.
They don't have motorbike rental shop parternership/contacts, you need to find by our own.
Julien Madouasse — Google review
Location is great, but its not what is seems like. The area of the hotel looks dirty and not scenic at all. The bed was really hard. Felt like sleeping on a piece of wood. There were spiders, lizards and a bunch of mosquitos in the room. Also weirdly enough I have never had a shower be so uncontrollably hot, it wasn’t even pleasant.
We noticed all of this within 15 min of being there and asked if we could check out and get a refund and the staff and manager were very repulsive and rude about the whole situation even though we just expressed our concerns. They made us stay for the night and then were able to check out the next day which made me upset, but i also understand business.
Overall would never recommend this place. Overpriced.
Connor Costello — Google review
An alright location close to the beach. The pool is clean and nice. The staff ia helpful and friendly and the rooms were really clean.
David — Google review
You're right in the middle of Sairee beach area so a short walk to where you want to be. However, this place is shabby and unkept. The rooms are mostly dingy and dark, junctional but very dated. The staff are inattentive, unfriendly and poorly trained. Worst of all though was the decking around the swimming pool. It was broken, uneven and poorly maintained to say the least. I would not let children anywhere near it.
In my experience, the management is to blame for the lack of investment in the hotel and its staff.
Andrew Howells — Google review
First time diving. Victor, the instructor, showed me everything I need to know. For the start we went in the pool to get used to the equipment. Then we went to two different dive spots. I felt very safe underwater, since I got Victor on my side. He pointed me in the right direction and kept me away from hitting the ground also checked the equipment every time. Very nice experience. Will come back to do advanced open water.

Hotel is a large facility in a good location ot is close to the busy area with plety of pubs and activities less than 30 minutes walk. There is a ferry boat servoce on the beach directly in front of the hotel super convinient for hoping around the island. The breakfast is nice with view on the beach. However upon arrival we had booked a bungalow with ac and where informed our room was unavailable so we where initialy put in a room with 2 twin beds. Since we had purposly booked a room with a single queen sized bed we where not satisfied by this and went back the the counter. We where switched to a room with one king bed. The room was larger than the bungalow with a balcony but we where still dissapponted in not having the room we booked. Initialy the room seemed clean but after a couple hours the perfume faded and an overwheeling stench of urine was coming from the shower. It seems instead of cleaning it theyd just cover it up with perfume every day. The main pool for all guests is so full of particulate you cannot see the bottom. This quite anoying because the pool for the premium rooms is crystal clear. It is passable for a couple night but for the price would honestly not recommend. The dirty shower and pool where quite a big anoyance.
Nicolas Desando — Google review
I booked a bed in a dormitory for six people with shared bathroom for two nights and it was not a good stay:
- I didn’t see them cleaning the bathroom and showers, which accumulated dirt from several days, they only came in to check unoccupied beds and sweep.
- It says to include internet but it never worked.
- There is no staff to review compliance with the rules.
- The door sometimes didn't work.
I spent more money for this accommodation that is not worth it. There is a great offer in the sector and you only have to check the reviews to decide and also very close to the beach and at a lower cost.

I did laundry there after my neighbor hotel recommended me to. I dropped it off at 11am and got it back at 7pm, it was 60 baht per kg. Overall all clothes are back and smell nice. Only thing is they packed it tight in a bag while the clothes were still damp.

I booked a 8 dorm room for 1 night with a Pool view and Terrace. And i got a 10 dorm with no view and 1 toilet including the shower in the same cabin. Toilet with always flooded with water.
I told the receptionist that i didnt booked this room and she just said its a new room. She was super unfriendly and showed me that she doenst care about it.
The only good thing is the Location.
I wouldnt recommend that place at all
Jannik Lundelius — Google review
when we arrived the room was half cleaned, hair residue in the shower, poor service, tired staff. even though we had cleaning every second day, it was only the trash that was emptied, of course we told about a proper cleaning but still only emptying of trash, torn bed linen etc. we asked for new bed linen after 5 days, we got a new bed sheet. Will never pay dearly for that service there again.
the pool was completely green, couldn't see the bottom. the pictures are extremely misleading.
Lena Hagstrom — Google review
tl;dr - place is run down, staff are rude and unhelpful, and we ended up cutting our stay short to go elsewhere.
We were looking forward to our stay based on the pictures online, but when we arrived we were disappointed. Rooms are quite run down and definitely not 3-star worthy. We stayed in the bungalow which I’m aware is the most basic of facilities, but even then it was quite bad, with exposed wires in the ceilings and a shower with bad water pressure. Thought about upgrading to a better room but the price wasn’t worth it. Also quite noisy.
They also didn’t clean between the first and second night. Just left toilet roll and two bottles of water outside in the heat.
Additionally, the staff were quite unwilling to help and very short with us. They realised they had put us in the wrong room (with aircon) and instead of just letting us keep the aircon as it was their mistake, or even just explaining that they would have to turn it off, they simply turned off the aircon slyly without saying anything. When we noticed and asked them about it, they just got very defensive and seemed to not want to apologise. All I wanted was an apology or explanation about what would happen.
After two nights stay, we decided to cut our stay short and pay a little bit extra to move elsewhere (much better value than to stay and upgrade). Only commendable part of the resort is its’ swimming pool.
Aisyah Wan — Google review
What even is this place. Room is not clean. The pool bathroom is so nasty. So expensive to extend one more night. Was not expecting luxury, but common. Trash in the bin from previous guest and feels like sand in the new bedsheets. No safe in the room.
Ingunn R — Google review
I booked a family room, which was very expensive. When I checked in, first of all, I wasn't told about any amenities around the hotel like swimming pool, beach towels, breakfast etc, I had to discover everything myself over the stay. When I finally was able to go to my room, the bath didn't have a pipe in it, so I had to go back to the reception, I asked to change the room, the receptionist lady didn't want to do it so in the end she asked one of the worker to go with me to the room so I can show him what is happening, then I spend 30 minutes watching him trying to fix it, he asked me if it's ok if they fix it tomorrow for me, I said no, so he took the whole pipe out and walked with me to the reception when then finally the receptionist gave me other room. No apologies given of course. The second room was barely working as well, doors were very hard to close, the windows were not fitted well so the room was full of mosquitos (room was next to the big green swamp so you can imagine how bad it was), there were stains on the walls and furnitures and flies everywhere, bathroom was very wobbly and unfinished, the light above the bath was falling out of the ceiling 😅 Breakfast was ok, and location was great. If they fix the rooms and area and instal mosquito nests above the beds the resort could be so great. But it's just falling apart instead.

We stayed in a bungalow above the beach with an amazing view. Very clean, no AC but 2 fans that were sufficient. This is a family-run place and Khun Pom and her husband were very nice. We loved swimming and snorkeling in the beautiful bay, saw many colourful fishes and baby sharks and enjoyed working at the bar/restaurant (good wifi everywhere, good food and smoothies!). 5-10min from Sairee Beach with a motorbike. We will come back!

Lovely little bungalows just by the sea, perfect for those who want to be in a quiet and beautiful place. Service was amazing and the beach is one of the best for snorkelling! There are sun beds which can be used as well.

We did not stay here, but the beach is wonderful as is the snorkeling and the restaurant and bar here is right on the beach and has a wonderful atmosphere. I believe the bungalows are also very nice

Beautiful beach and very nice feel-home local resorts and and restaurants owned by a family. To those saying that the locals and the staff don’t try their best to clean up the beach - please know that they do. You may not see them doing the deed when you come and visit the beach, but they try.
There are multiple causes for the garbage on the shore. One, would be the illegal dumping caused by people and maybe sewer overflows. Who knows.
All in all I think we should just pick up one or two things when you walk across. It doesn’t hurt.
The waves today are awesome. I see a lot of people enjoying themselves. Cheers!

We are happy to pay 100baht each to use tthe sun loungers.
No issues with the owner. ☀️😄

The beach is beautiful BUT the owner of the restaurant it’s a person with anger management problems. I saw some tourists having pictures on the sun beds and the owner hit one of them because he wanted them to pay. They were just taking pictures.
It was all so unexpected. I recommend highly the beach NOT THE RESTAURANT

We came to the bay to see the sharks and didn’t thought that the beach had corals as well so we entered the beach from here and when we arrived we bought a bottle of water as they have big size ones, also when in the beach we though on asking here if they had snorkelling glasses and they did and the best is that we rented the glasses at 50 thb each and we had fun a lot. They also have sun beds which they rent at 100 thb per person.

The owner punched me in my face because I did not have 100baths for the use of transat outside. I was just looking for some shade for my 1 year baby. Avoid this place and insane people !!!
Olivier Frappé — Google review
Didn't stay in the rooms, just visited the restaurant. People wrongly give this place bad reviews. Entering Aow Leuk through this hotel is free! The woman on the main entrance near Chabaly charges the entrance 50bht, not here. You can use their sunbeds, order some delicious shakes, coconut or cold beer or have a bite to eat. Papaya salad and chicken spring rolls are a delight.
Bare in mind that this beach faces east, and when ever east or southeast wind blows, this beach will have big waves, ergo a lot of ocean garbage will wash out on the beach.
The water and the beach were mostly cleaned up, but still a lot of broken chairs and random garbage lying around.
Antonia-Lovrena Žuvela — Google review
Very quiet and nice place. When we arrived there we were the only two guests.
The host is very friendly.
The view is amazing. Everything was very comfortable.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good, when we were there.
Therefore it was nearly impossible to reach the bungalows with the scooter. We ended up using the road to the other resort on the other side of the bay and walked back to our place.

Aow Yai translates to ‘big Bay’ in English. This bay is incredibly wide, boasting the longest beach on the island. It’s also known as the sunset side, offering breathtaking views every evening. With its vast stretch, you can easily find a peaceful spot to sit and watch the sunset without anyone blocking your view.
However, the sand isn’t pristine; it’s a mixture of mud and regular sand, although it’s not too bad.
Along the beach, you’ll find bars and restaurants, but they tend to be on the expensive side compared to others.

A nice very long beach. The scenery is nice. However, the waves are quite strong. So, I don't think it's suitable for swimming. Rather, it's a nice spot for those who love surfing.
Kongdej Keesukpan — Google review
This is a long surfy beach. In late April many beachfront restaurant and bars were shut , but there were still a handful open to sit at. We didn’t swim as some of the waves were big and strong for an intermediate swimmer . The water was not clear in late April when we visited .

The worse ‘beach’ at this island which doesn’t actually have good beaches anyway. Very shallow and not really clean. Ugly to look at in low tide

Tarnim Magic Garden, also known as Secret Buddha Garden, is a renowned hilltop garden on Koh Samui. It features a stunning combination of natural beauty and human artistry, with numerous statues of Buddha, deities, animals, and mythological creatures nestled among the lush greenery and moss-covered stones. The garden is located in the cool mountainous region of the island and is surrounded by a babbling river. Visitors can explore this enchanting site and enjoy its serene atmosphere.
Calm place, enjoy walking there. Fascinating sculptures, creative use of space and stones, interesting story about creator. You can walk on both sides of a mountain stream. Beware of mosquitoes – there are a lot of them. Nonetheless, this place can be more clean and well-groomed to attract more tourists. The entrance cost 80 baht.
Eleonora Shatkivska — Google review
Best experience I had so far. This place is truly mystical. The theme looks like straight out of tomb raider :D jokes aside, it was totally worth the entry fee, the place is clean and you have plenty to explore. There weren't too many tourists at the time I was there.
I'd recommend coming in the late afternoon (3 or 4pm) when the sun is a bit down to add a little to the atmosphere.
Kai Dorschner — Google review
These were interesting to stroll around. They are small enough and probably only takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. The entry fee was only 80 THB which I thought was worth it.

We had a great time at the garden. Although it was quite slippery, the scenery is lovely and we enjoyed it. It's a nice family event. We even saw a little turtle 😍

Indeed a magical place! It mesmerizes you as soon as you reach- its beautiful, quiet and has corners for you to dip your feet in water and have a quiet, relaxed time. The route is beautiful and best enjoyed on a 2 wheeler. Not to be missed!
Ruchika Therapist — Google review
This is a truly magical place. It's set on the crest of a mountain in a stream bed in a cloud forest. There are high altitude orchids growing on everything! As a plant nerd, I was spellbound. The terrain is a little challenging, so if you have mobility issues this may not be the destination for you. Wear good hiking shoes and bring your camera.
Rachael — Google review
Yeah it’s an okay visit. 80 baht, we stayed for about 15-20 minutes.
The scooter ride there is quite fun
They seem to have big groups of tour people coming in waves, so it’s pretty crowded if you are unlucky and get in the middle of those
Good parking for scooters at least
Svan — Google review
Worth it. The road inside the jungle to get there is also nice. Cost = 80 baths. It’s not really big but it just gives a different energy and almost transport you back to ancient Thailand with your imagination as to what these characters or setting must have meant. There’s indeed a little bit of magic
William Santoni — Google review
Nice peaceful place to get absorbed in nature and the shapes of the sculptures whilst hearing very calming trickling water. It’s not as big as I expected which is good in a way as it makes you really slow down and appreciate each one instead of racing around to see it all… because if you did that it would be over in a flash.
Wear some bug spray / insect repellent!
Lots of people taking photos too, which can sometimes pull you out of the zone of just relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere - but it’s a tourist spot right?
Jenn Rivera — Google review
Nice day out visiting the Magic Gardens of Tarnim. Good pass time and getting steps in. Lovely and tranquil. Make sure you have mosquito spray on as near lush green areas with water. Steep walk down to the gardens. If you are elderly may have to consider as the steps are high too. Once down there just follow the path, you can go and use alternative routes but the choice is yours.
DonD Marley — Google review
Amazing place, especially after rains, cheap entrance fee, perfect for half day trip to absorb nature and this beautiful place. No need tickets in advanced or arranged tour. Can get there with bike or a car fairly easy, and buy tickets at the entrance.

Pretty interesting place to visit when in Koh Samui. It’s a nice walk down with beautiful statues to see. It’s all nestled in a forest. It looks like it can get pretty crowded. I’d also avoid going midday as it was extremely hot down there. Not the easiest of places to access with little ones, so be careful
Johan Strydom — Google review
The trip up of Koh samui was already worth it. It's 70baht to enter the secret garden which really isn't that big. But still worth a visit as the statue, water and building was beautiful. Almost like being in the movie tomb raider.
Za. cky — Google review
Gorgeous place and very peaceful. !!!MOSQUITOES SPRAY RECOMMENDED!!! Entrance fee is 80 baht per person. We went there with kids (4 yo and under) and it was quiet challenging for the kids to walk through but theg still loved it. Definitely recommend to walk either barefoot, or with proper shoes as it can be quite slippery.
It is quiet a "short" trip as it is not a big as we thought it would be but still a beautiful sight. Would go there again but without the kids.
Best to take your time there, enjoy the waterfall, sitdown and enjoy the surrounding.
Adriana Dawidowitsch — Google review
Place is beautiful with statues which seem old and amazing. But it's very short, like you can see it all in matter on 5 minutes and it wasn't really worth the entry ticket of 80Tbh each. I wish it had more to offer.
Prateek Kalakannavar — Google review
Nice little garden with statues. Although the statues look old, I think they're fairly new. The cost was 80b per adult, and it doesn't take too long to walk around. Note that the drive up is steep, and there are some great lookouts on the way. Wear mosquito repellent!
Stephanie Dow — Google review
It was a bit underwhelming, really - you could be finished here in about 15 mins.
Nice statues, but a lot smaller than expected.
Also, too many superficial people focused on stupid insta style photos of themselves blocking the view for everyone else.
Sandra Holden — Google review
Truly a magic garden full of magnificent statues and plants. It is small but very charming. Don't be afraid to visit it during noon as trees will save you from the heat and it's always chilly there by the river. Be careful not to slip on the rocks! Entrance is 80 baht.
Totally worth a visit if you are in Samui.
Ilya Lebedev — Google review
Love this place and the road, especially in low season when its not crowded. Shade of trees, sound of water, and fantastic sculptures. It took about 15 minutes to walk around, but there are many places to sit and to enjoy this beautiful nature for longer.
Dmitry G. — Google review
Little hidden wonderful garden with a small waterfall … the statues are nice and original …. The highlight is to get the fish to eat your feet in the little pond … quite magical 🤩…. They should improve their directions and signalisation… it’s really hard to find … no indications at ALL during the last 5 km …!! I’m happy that I persevered to finally get there !
janique pilon — Google review
We came here by scooter after visiting some waterfalls nearby.
This is spectacular what this man built in the jungle/garden. You can see it is very old but worth the visit when in Samui. We wandered down the stream and had a swim in a rock pool. Went up again to where the garden starts and had another swim whilst enjoying the zen feeling this garden offers. I recommend visiting by scooter and then go to the waterfalls on the same road.

A real magic place to go and see.
Coat 80 baht to get in.
Amazing sculptures and houses, can go any hour of the day as it's covered by trees.
Kid friendly as well they'll have fun exploring it all.

Na Muang 2 Waterfall is situated in the southern part of Koh Samui's ring road and can be easily accessed by following a sign directing to the waterfall and Na Muang Safari Park. Visitors have the option to either take an off-road jeep from the safari park or follow the road up to reach the waterfall. It is part of a park that also houses Na Muang 1, known as the "Purple Waterfalls.
Awesome place, with stunning views. Make sure to take appropriate footwear for the steep but relatively short hike. Go past the car park as there is appropriate parking closer to the start of the walk. Also, BE CAREFUL on the rocks, I slipped, and I saw others do so too.
Fraser McKnespiey — Google review
I went with scepticism, unsure of whether it would be worth it. I was willing to go for the hike anyway, not expecting to see anything spectacular. To my surprise, there was a lovely little waterfall at the top, and a great view which definitely made the hike worth it. I went on 29/06/23. I think these recent reviews are all about a "waterfall" much lower down, which is where those slides are. Granted, that was rather empty and unimpressive. Instead of going all the way to the main spot for car parking, turn left down a little hill to a small hut where someone resides. You'll see a hand made plank bridge. This is where you should start the hike to the better waterfall at the top.
Rosie Hannay — Google review
Beautiful view if you make it to the top. The climb is steep and sweaty but worth it and fun. Bring proper shoes and mosquito spray. You can buy water at the bottom. The waterfall ist completely free! No need for a ticket. You can swim at the top or further down at a couple of spots in little basins.
I don't know if it just isn't the eight season (March) bit the restaurant further up and the slides were all closed. In general there seems to be lack of water since the natural waterfall is helped by installed pipes and further down the riverbed is completely dry.
Kathrin — Google review
Quite a hike up to the waterfall viewpoint, but well worth the effort. Remember to wear proper hiking/sport shoes with sufficient grip! Beautiful soaking pools and gorgeous view of the jungle from up top!
Vera S — Google review
This waterfall is insanely amazing!!!
If you want an adventure, pack a good tracking and a water shoes with you. Ride your motorcycle all the way up there and IGNORE the parking signs at the bottom or you gotta walk all the way. There is a parking on the top for motorcycles.
This waterfall has 4 stages. So not be taken back by the little waterfall by the bridge. Climb all the way up. There are incredible water ponds for swimming. I repeat, climb all the way up!
L2HfT — Google review
It's totally worth the climb! Be aware that most of the path is super steep and some parts slippery. You should wear steady walking shoes.
Once you've reached the spot, you can enjoy unbelievably stunning views. The dip in the water is super refreshing
Santorini Experts — Google review
A really great place. The climb is worth it.
It is important to wear sturdy, non-slip shoes and take enough to drink with you.
I've seen people go up with a child (around 5 years old), if the parents and children have experience with climbing and are fit, it's possible.
You have to walk from the lower parking lot (no entry fee) past a small hut with a refrigerator (you can buy drinks there) over a rickety wooden bridge structure - there at the end a path goes up to the left, which is sometimes very steep, always keep left - After about 30 - 45 minutes you are at the great photo shoot spot.
we were there in mid-January 2023 - I think there will be more water everywhere in the rainy season
Marie — Google review
Small hike up steep narrow mostly rocky mountain that takes maybe 1 hour and you arrive to super picturesque site that looks as if it was made for cool foto making. Not for total dweebs. You must be at least somewhat adequately fit and have more than cheapest beach flip flops to wear. Overall: super worth it!
Eimantas Blazys — Google review
To arrive: if you go in motorbike or SUV its OK. If not, you need to leave the car and to walk/ track 850m. With smalls kids is hard. Then when we arrive the current of the river was so strong cause the rain, so we didn't swim. They have a cool but dangerous bridge. We couldn't reach the top.
Lalaurri Ad Suara — Google review
Not as big of a waterfall when it's not rainy season, but still definitely worth a trip. The entry fee is 50 baht, this comes with a free bottle of water. The waterfalls down low are impressive, but you can climb the paths around the river to reach higher up, there is a beautiful viewpoint although it's hard to reach. There are no markings or signage telling you to turn toward the water, so we climbed past it for a little bit. The only way of knowing if you're there is by trying.
Daan Dogger — Google review
So the photos online looked amazing so I hired a scooter and drove almost an hour to have a look and go for a swim. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photos, the water was feral. Hadn't been any rain in Samui for a while and it really made a difference to the state of the falls. Hopefully next time I'm back will be better.
There is a bar so was able to kill an hour or so but overall was pretty disappointing.
David Keys — Google review
It was a cool spot for sure! About a 30 minute hike up on some pretty rugged terrain. We did it in flip flops and didn't have a problem but I would recommend full shoes (especially for the way down)
We started the hike at the lower parking area by the little house.
Patrick Maiorino — Google review
No water at waterfall but hike and views are very nice! Wear proper shoes (do not recommend in slippers or Flipflops), being enough water (we were sweating a lot) & mosquito repellent!
T O — Google review
Very fun hike! We went up the left (free) side (which starts out of the bottom parking lot--follow the signs that take you over a rickety wooden bridge), which involved some fun scrambling and a lot of gorgeous views! You can swim at the top by the waterfall. We spent 30 min hiking up, 30 min at the upper falls, and 30 min hiking down.
Irina D — Google review
We went here as part of Mr Ung's safari tour. The waterfall is worth a look however the facilities could do with a bit of sprucing up. The wooden structure is quite dangerous and rickety. Would not recommend bringing children here. There is a pool to swim in at the bottom of the waterfall of fresh running water but it's quite dangerous to get to. Worth a quick visit for the photo ops. We didn't get a drink in the bar. Do not climb where it says 'do not climb'. Our tour guide said that someone had died up there recently due to climbing. I would recommend going here with a guide as they know they're way around.
Amie Dodgson — Google review
Beautiful waterfall that you can also swim in. A moderate hike, tree vines and roots to step over to get up to the waterfall. Some small pools of water you can sit and relax in at the top. Amazing views at the top!
Chloe — Google review
This waterfall is an ordinary one, but it has the most beautiful view I have ever seen in Thailand.
The slop of the walkway is very high
If you are in koh Samui, and you are short in time, this is the only waterfall you have to visit
✅
- Sport shoes is highly recommended
- Bring mosquito spray
- Bottle of water
❎
- Slippers and sandals are not recommended at all

Be aware the waterfall has two difference entrances and two different hikes either side of it.
At the base of the waterfall if you go in the lower left hand side this is free and will take you on a comfortable scrambling path to the IG viewpoint spot of the pool over looking the edge of the waterfall.
The higher path from the car park to the right hand side of the waterfall is 50 baht pp entry and will give you views of the waterfall and various different pools you can go in.
There are opportunities to cross the water fall but these are hard to spot and quite sketchy, other than the crossing at the viewpoint if taken up from the left hand side

Wat Khunaram, also known as Phra Wihan Luang Por Daeng, is a small yet bustling Buddhist temple in Koh Samui that boasts an impressive display of Buddhist art. One of the main attractions of this serene and peaceful temple is the mummified monk, whose cool shades are accepted as donations and still uphold his appearance. It's fascinating how three different religions coexist harmoniously in this lovely temple.
Serene temple with actual monk mummy. The mummy still keeps up the appearances with cool shades. Shades are accepted as donations as well.

This is by far the best car Ferry on Kos Samui. we truly recommend you to book your ticket in advance. Recently, the island seems very packed and if you leave it for the last minute, you may not find a ticket in case you need to travel by car. However, if you go without a car there’s no issue in finding a ticket. The ride to Thailand to Donsak in Sahne takes about an hour and a half. Always be 30 minutes in advance before the time of departure, to finalize all the check-in events.

I just turned up with my car perchesd my ticket on the arrivel boot. Car and 1× passenger 470.- Baht! Passenger 150.- Baht. Quick loading process and the journey takes about 11/2 hours. Definitely the better choice of the two ferry services that run to Samui from the mainland. The boats are newer and better maintained than the other choice. Can get busy at peak times do best to book ahead. Staff are not the most helpful or friendly.

Can’t speak for cars but very easy experience as a motorcycle rider. Turn up, pay 240 baht, ride onto the next boat and sail away into the sunset 🤗 the ferry seems clean enough and has a small shop on board. Haven’t tried the other ferry service but after reading reviews this seems to be the better option. Everything is fine for me. Good experience

While there are reports of the need to pre-book for cars it does not seem to be a problem for motorcycles. There is no signage, at least in English, indicating where to get tickets, where to wait, etc. The employees don't seem to be interested in helping with instructions either. They instruct the cars and trucks where to line up and when to load, but the motorcycles just seem to left to their own.

Left the airport in Surat thani and were able to get onto a ferry very easily at the airport. There is a large desk with helpful and friendly staff who will arrange for your transfer to the ferry. Lots to do whilst you are waiting for the ferry as there are shops and cafes in the waiting area. The ferry itself is large and spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. Clean toilets available on several floors as well as a little cafe and shop inside the ferry. Foot massages are also available inside the ferry.

Khao Sok National Park is a renowned national park in Thailand that features an ancient rainforest, limestone cliffs, rare flora and fauna, and breathtaking waterfalls. Visitors can hike on the numerous trails available or opt for an elephant ride through the tropical rainforest. Additionally, visitors can enjoy canoeing or bamboo rafting on the Khao Sok River to witness limestone karsts.
Beautiful marine national park with extensive wildlife.
We stayed two nights and saw several animals during our time in the park, including wild elephants, king cobra, boar, Indian bison, and different kinds of monkeys.
On the first day we hiked up to a view point overlooking the southern part of the park. It’s quite a trek and not suitable if you have challenges walking. Beware of leeches during the wet season.
In the north eastern part of the lake, there’s another short hike you can take to visit a coral cave. It’s large and once you’re furthest into it there’s literally no light.
Can highly recommend spending a few days here if you enjoy nature and wildlife!

This is an absolutely stunning national park. The scenery is very beautiful, the mountains the sky are very beautiful. One of my personal favorite moments was waking up early and see the sunrise between the mouth. Despite the lake being man made, the wildlife surrounding the lake is very healthy and thriving. We saw multiple school of wild Buffalo, rare birds and all kinds of water lizard. Highly recommend if you love natural and wildlife.

The national park offers several activities for nature enthusiasts, such as jungle trekking, wildlife spotting, and bird watching. What a great adventure!! This was a few years ago. The park is kept very well. However, if you are adventurous, get a required guide so you can go to very offbeat areas that are full of beautiful jungle, rivers, and a little wildlife.
I asked our tour outfitter, Tiger Man (who i super highly recommend) to take me on a HARD hike, and he did just that. He required a check of my ability to make sure that i could make it. The guide was great and we stopped often and he explained parts of the jungle, such as a vine that had backwards thorns that the guide said was to keep snakes off, just as one example.
Many decades of hiking and this was definitely the toughest hike had been on, crossing through rivers, repelling down waterfalls, walking about 1KM down a river waist deep. But it all was fantastic…
If you go i would definitely recommend Tiger man as your guide/outfitter! He is great.

Obviously the site has some visual impact and makes for a great day excursion. The walking through the cave was kind of a more thrilling experience with the swimming in the dark.
The rocky formations are very high and gives you a difference sense of scale, the scenery makes for great pics.
Be aware that on the 2 days tour you won't sleep in the middle of the rocky formations but on the side so can be disappointing. Also sad they don't stop a great Viewpoint to get the overall feeling of the landscape.

Beautiful scenery. Elephants can be seen or heard roaming around the park. Monkeys can also be seen. There is a fun trek to a cave also. Canoeing available. The local food served was very tasty.
The hotel on the lake we ended up staying at had communal bathrooms unless a 200 baht/per person update for a private/attached bathroom. The one star reduction mostly comes from there being no AC in the rooms and no electricity in the rooms until 6pm til about 10am.

Everything about this place is unreal. The views, floating bungalows, the water, the animals. Truly is amazing as they say it is. I’d highly recommend coming here with the tour guide as your not allowed to come without one

This is an amazing serene place, which is definitely worth the visit.
The views of the surrounding cliffs are amazing. The blue water brought forth by the limestone rocks is a joy to have a swim in.
There are also heard of wild elephants in the region. They are rarely spotted, but you might get lucky.

A bit touristy, with lots of boat lining up to ferry the masses out onto the lake, but still well worth a visit. The day trip we did included an easy walk through the jungle, where our guide imparted various interesting facts about plants, insects and animals living within the park. We also completed a quick walk through the Pra Kai Pelch Cave. Which contains lots of stalagmites, stalactites and other spectacular formations.

Stunning scenery and pure serenity (except of the tourist boats going up and down)
We took a 5 hours private longtail boat “tour” from River View Resort at Chaewlan for 4500bht (such a ripoff. National park and some other fees were excluded 240bht, they don’t even provide a bottle of water) which was supposed to include a guide but the “guide” turned out to be the boatman who spoke no English. We basically sat on the boat under minimal shade and the boatman just drove us from place to place and gestured “bats (they were on a tree which you can only zoom in with your camera from the boat)” “monkeys (on the rocks)”and a bay that supposed had Elephants. We sat in the boat at the bay with 3 other boats just listening to crashing trees in the foliage while the boatman pointed into the trees “Eleohants” for 10mins.
When I asked if we could stop and swim. He just stared at me and we continued on. Went to a pontoon that had a restaurant (tables but didn’t looked like they served food) which was attached to small floating huts that had guests lounging on their fronts.
We also had a stop at the jungle trek (extra payment for ticket 200bht)
While the scenery was beautiful, I don’t think you will need to do 5 hours of it. It became rather pointless after the first 2.

This place is absolutely stunning g to float through. I did a 2 day one night tour and the deeper you can get into this incredible lake the better.
It was so refreshing swimming in fresh water and spotting the wildlife. The rock formations are incredible! Massive, beautiful and of course photogenic.
This place is worth the stop and energy to explore!

Amazing! Such beautiful views! For 1,500 baht each for a full day, it was so worth it. Each boat ride is different but we were able to go see a cave, swim, free dinner and kayaking.

Khao Sok is a captivating destination that truly comes alive in the early morning. Waking up to witness the sunrise, accompanied by the mystical fog, creates a mesmerizing atmosphere. Being among the first on the lake imparts a sense of tranquility and a unique connection with nature. Beautiful dam waterway with great views. You can take a boat ride around the dam if you have time. There is a cafe, restaurant and ice cream shop. The gardens are a beautiful and relaxing place to spend some time and take a picnic if you like. There is a good course if you like to play also a resort if you want to stay over it's a bit expensive to stay but there are many other cheaper options nearby.highly recommend a visit here heaps of photo opportunities. It's free to enter but you have to pay for the boat trip not sure how much

Lake Cheow Lan is a great place for nature lovers! The conserved national park area should be on every offbeat traveller's bucket list. You get to trek, swim, paddle boat, see deep caves and waterfalls apart from flaura & fauna.
Also, if going there, spend 2-3 days at any resort/hotel/hostel near Khao Sok national park. Enjoy Jungle Safari, Night Canoeing and spotting Rafflesia Flower blooming (Largest Flower in World). Hope my review helps.

A lovely elephant experience. There are options for just feeding the elephants and for walking along with them. It was very nice to have a 40 minute meet and greet option because we were short on time in this area. No riding, no bathing, which is a good thing. The elephants were allowed to wander away if they desired (the mahouts would call to them but didn’t pinch their ears to keep them near us like I have seen in other places). The two females rescues we met were enthusiastic about the plentiful bananas we had for them and chose to stay for head scratches.

We did the 1.5h program in the afternoon and met the lovely Wassana, one of the two elephants in this sanctuary. The owner explained to us that the other elephant was on a special diet and was not to be fed by us. Even though the group was quite large and there was only 1 elephant, we had enough time to feed her bananas, walk with her and give her attention. She was walking with us because she knows she will get some bananas, but she is also doing her own thing, playing with the trees and walking away when she wants.
The owner explained a lot about the elephants and sanctuary and my impression was really good, I do feel they care about the elephants and they are hoping to rescue more (but they would have to be bought from their current owners, for quite the amount).
So even though it was a more "limited" experience, it was still worthwhile and recommended if you are in the area.
Reservation via the website was easy and via the telephone number a pickup from our hotel in town was arranged quickly.

An unforgettable experience at the Khaosok Elephant Sanctuary! In addition to interacting with the well-cared-for elephants, we had the opportunity to actively participate on the farm – we planted banana trees and enjoyed an informative farm tour. This aspect was particularly enriching and educational. The lunch was delicious, another highlight. A small note: The staff speaks limited English, but with a few questions, you can get all the information you need. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to respectfully experience animals and nature.

Lek, the owner, is very nice, so are his elephants :). I had lots of fun there. You can make food for the elephants and feed them afterwards. You’ll take a little walk with them and play a little bit. Lek will also talk to you and tell you some facts and information about his animals.

We visited the sanctuary in July 2022, we went for the morning program.
It was a wonderful experience for us, and our kids. The owner told us a lot about the elephants, their habits and history. I think he and his family are doing a great thing running this place, and saving these beautiful animals.
It is well worth a visit and if you are in Khao Sok, please go there. You will not regret it and at the same time you'll be able to support the place. Thank you!

What a remarkable experience!!
We were doubting to visit an elephant sanctuary but based on all the reviews we came here and really happy about it! This sanctuary has become a haven for two rescued elephants. One was saved from a wood company and, being accustomed to the nature, she can forage for her own food. The other elephant, rescued from Phuket, had spent her entire life reliant on humans for feeding. Unfortunately, her dental health suffered due to the sweets she was fed in Phuket.
The sanctuary's owner is truly dedicated to the welfare of these majestic creatures. The elephants have the freedom to roam throughout the sanctuary, which includes a river, all on their own. Visitors are given the wonderful opportunity to feed them bananas and prepare nourishing food balls made from elephant-friendly foods, bananas, and rice.
Notably, the sanctuary prohibits bathing activities. Observations have shown that the elephants do not enjoy it and, furthermore, excessive water exposure is detrimental to their foot health!
Make sure you contact the owner upfront. He will pick you up from your camp. On the website there are different times mentioned. We did the 1,5 tour and stayed another 30mins to enjoy the elephants with a drink made from plants and coconut bites.
I would really recommend coming here to support this sanctuary!!!

If you want a genuinely ethical and special experience with elephants - this is the place to go. No bathing, no riding, no abuse; the elephants are allowed to live the rest of their lives in a natural habitat without forced labour which they were subject to in the past.
I first visited the sanctuary a couple weeks ago to do the half day tour and my first impressions left me a little skeptical. I am a passionate zoologist and conservationist, and have been fortunate enough to have some incredible wildlife experiences all around the world but I know that many projects like this often cut corners and disguise the reality of their work in order to maximize profit. Let me assure you that this is definitely not the case here, these guys deserve all the help and recognition that they can possibly get.
Once I got to know the owner (Lek) and understanding his project, I quickly realised how passionate and heavily invested in the elephants him and his family are. It's a family run project, with all the family living locally and contributing to the care of their lovely elephants Maruay and Wassana (plus their new young male addition who's not yet ready to meet the public due to his abusive past).
After a very educational and enjoyable chat with Lek, I decided to come back to the sanctuary and volunteer for a couple of days before I returned to work in Bangkok. I was travelling the south of Thailand for 3 weeks and my time at the elephant sanctuary was my absolute highlight, it was such a memorable and unique experience to spend so much time walking and working alongside these gentle giants.

I’m disappointed I can’t recommend this place. We booked the “half-day experience” which got off to a good start. The two elephants seemed to be happy to feed and weren’t coerced in to posing for photos, but as you arrive they are ready and waiting. It seems as though their routine is so mundane they just know where to be and what to do.
All other visitors in our party had only booked 1.5hours. If you are desperate to see these elephants then that is what I would recommend. Don’t waste your money on anything more.
Contrary to the itinerary, you learn nothing more about the elephants rescue, diet, age or the sanctuary than what is written on the website. None of the staff speak fluent English which causes obvious problems when an element of the day is supposed to be educational/informative. No other languages were offered either.
The best part of the experience was strolling with them through the sanctuary, but they needed a bit of persuading.
As we continued our “half-day” we were driven across the road to cut some grass with machetes along with the staff. We watched them work in silence for 20 minutes before heading back to the sanctuary, at which point we were offered to use a chipper to churn the grass in to more food, which we were given to feed the elephants again. It’s as if the poor things just eat all day on demand.
When we asked for our lunch (which was supposed to be included) we were instead offered a drive up a mountain to enjoy the view (which is not included in the itinerary). We decided at this point to cut our losses and go back to our accommodation.
Whilst the elephants weren’t whipped or prodded with rods, there was an awful lot of shoving and heavy patting going on, especially when the guides seemed keen to get them in the water, which they both refused to do.
Certainly doesn’t feel like a sanctuary I’m sad to say.

There seems to have been some bad reviews in the past. I had just visited this month March 2022 and let me tell you that it was an incredible experience. I could feel the love that the owners had for their elephants and their urge to rescue more. At first, I was told by my hotel that there was elephant bathing - but when I asked about it at the Sanctuary they said that they dont do that because forcing the elephants to get down on their knees in the water are bad for their joints. It's been a tough year for them, they are doing everything in their power to nurture these elephants so please support them!
The most incredible moment was when it start raining - i'll never forget how amazing the elephant looked as it cooled off in the rain.

I absolutely loved this experience! I think this is the best elephant sanctuary that you could visit. The people treat the elephants so kindly and you can see that the elephants can do whatever they want and are not being harmed in any kind of way. We could walk with the elephants and feed them and the people told us about their past. They told us about their amazing future plans to safe even more elephants as well. Most definitely recommend going here!!!

Wonderful experience at the Elephant Sanctuary. Got to feed the elephants twice as well as walk with them. They are free to wander as they please but came with us as we had food (they need to eat a lot!). We heard how they had come to be there (which was sad) but it lovely to see them content. I felt the staff really cared about them. One piece of advice is to wear trousers and long sleeves plus insect repellent. I got bitten quite a lot by mosquitoes.

This was exactly the experience I was looking for. Just to be up close to these majestic animals was a huge thrill. Very special experience.

Breathtaking experience, absolutely loved seeing the elephants in an amazing large sanctuary with a river and palm tree forest. The elephants seemed very content, we were very cautious in picking an ethical elephant sanctuary and this one doesn’t allow bathing or riding (both activities we were not comfortable doing for ethical reasons). The staff were lovely and answered all our questions about the elephants. Would recommend coming here over any other locations.

This place is a bit commercial but hopefully they also help care for another elephants.

An amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity to see elephants in their natural habitat. We were so skeptical about visiting elephants as we saw the way they were treated in Phuket. However, so glad we trusted this place. The animals were so clearly relaxed and happy - friendly on their own terms. It was informative and eye opening to see the way people treat such sacred animals before they are rescued by places like this. Would 100% recommend visiting if you are in Khao Sok. Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan is a significant Buddhist temple in southern Thailand that houses a sacred tooth relic. Legend has it that more than 1000 years ago, Queen Hem Chala and Prince Thanakuman brought relics to Nakhon and built a small pagoda to house them. Today, the temple has grown into a massive site with an impressive 77m white chedi crowned by a gold spire.
This temple can be seen as the center of the Nakornsrithamarat civilisation. The primary Chedi in one of the oldest form of stupa situated the Buddha tooth. The temple is in great care and there is the museum in the Buddha Hall.

*It was veritably an iconic gem kind of a cultural and religious heritage! Truly an august and glorious landmark for Southern Thailand!
*Locals from NST and neighbouring Thai provinces obviously gave strong and unreserved support to the temple and it's activities. In particular, crowds would throng the premises during weekends and at Buddhist religious events and ceremonies. More likely to pay homage, veneration and merit-making, less so for sight-seeing.
*Apparently, the local-produce market or bazaar at one corner of the temple also attract good patronage and support.

Wat Tham Suea Krabi is a vast temple complex nestled in the lush jungle, renowned for its impressive gold Buddha statue and extensive cave network. Situated 9km northwest of Krabi Town, this sprawling hill and cave temple complex makes for an excellent day trip. The entrance leads to a challenging 1260-step staircase that ascends to a 600m karst peak.
The temple was in very nice setting and everything was in the proper managed including the parking lot, the local shopping store area and also there were food sold in case you want to have a little meal in front the main entrance of the temple. There is some entry fee for international tourists/visitors but free for Thai people. The highlight of this temple is the 1,260 steps of stair climbing up the top of the cave hill. For us, it took about 40 minutes and literally depending on how healthy you are, some take shorter and some take longer time. I recommend you to try to reach to the top because the view and the area at the top is worth it. It was a breath taking view with the 360 view. You can see the horizontal of the ocean with the stunning view of the mountain beauty which is only located in Krabi. On the way, there were 2 the toilets stops and also there is drinking water tap at the top of the hill. I do recommend you to take a bottle of water. Due to the stairs is very steep and narrow so very be careful when climbing up and use the handrail will be more safe. Moreover, there is a number of steps wrote along the way which will give you a sense of progress. And also I suggest visit the tiger cave which is underneath the hill that we climb up. The overall experience was so memorable with stunning view and it may took you roughly 3 hours for this temple to explore. Enjoy the climbing.
Sriprapha Nguanson — Google review
Be ready for one hell of a stair climb. These aren't normal steps either, most of them are giant steps at a steep angle. Is it worth it? Depends on the individual really but I'd wager anyone willing to go there and climb the stairs in the first place would find it worthwhile. The views from the top are amazing, the statue is quite magnificent. It started raining as soon as we got up there which really helped cool us down. Can't imagine doing this in the middle of summer.
The state of the area up there could use a little attention.
Granted the stairs seem the only way up so that likely hampers any attempt at maintenance. Given the scale of construction of the temple at the foot of the mountain however, tells me a plan could be made. That's the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. Other than that it is quite a sight.

1260 steps and over 300m elevation. Not for the casuals. This will test your endurance but it's totally worth it once you get to the top. BRING WATER WITH YOU. I can't stress this enough. Also be mindful that you're visiting a temple so dress appropriately. The views are stunning.

Such a beautiful place once you finally get to the top. The climb is pretty steep but worth it to see the beautiful golden Buddha at the top and the spectacular views of the surroundings. 1260 steps. Depending on your level of fitness it could take anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes.

A very beautiful scenic site on the top of the mountains but as it's said a difficult path often leads to a beautiful location so was the case with this. There are around 1260 extremely steep stairs to climb this location and not recommended for the faint hearted but the view from the top is magical and if you are ok with moderate trek then you must definitely try to go to the top of the mountain. It's really a feeling of accomplishment after completing this trek. A lovely experience and must recommended

One of the best temples we have visited in Thailand but be prepared for a long and steep climb.
The views from the top - once you get there - are superb. Also, make sure to check out the cave adjacent to the temple on the right past the main climb.
Would definitely try to come back here.

They are not lying when they say 1260 stairs but it is totally worth it. The Buddha at the top of the mountain is magnificent.
Do take plenty of water and make stops, everyone needs them you go straight up. No regrets I would go again.
Go early and be ready for monkeys they slide on the fence and can get to you very quickly.

This is one of the to go places in Krabi. But if you are unfit don't try it. It has over a thousand steps and some of it are steep. At the top you have a 360 degree view of the surrounding. Nice scenery. Do not carry too much things on the climb, keep your hands free to hold onto the railing.

Strongly recommended to come to Tiger Cave for your Krabi trip.
Earliest entry is 6am so don’t be late for the breathtaking views. You gotta get proper attire, sports wear ok but no swimming for ladies.
You have been warned that the stairs have 1260 steps, steps are narrow, about 2km. Spare about 2 hours for this. There are no toilet at the peak but there are 2 “pit-stop” for toilet break. Stay hydrated.
Please help to keep the environment clean. Thank you to the temple to build and ensure safety for visitors too.

Gorgeous place, the climb too the top is steep and perilous but definitely worth a go. The views from the top are stunning and the temple is very nice. Few monkeys around which have a tendency to steal but they are very cute. Got an ice-cream after the decent. Loved it all.
Duff Beer — Google review
One thing I loved was that it's free to enter - they just ask for donations if you want to contribute. The view from the top is gorgeous after climbing those 1,260 steps (there are markers along the way to track your progress). I was wiped by the end but feeling that sense of accomplishment made it worthwhile!
Now, they do require you to cover shoulders and knees out of respect. They lend scarves at the entrance which is super nice. I did notice some people sneaking them off once inside which seemed kinda lame to me. But anyway, not a big deal to wrap up for the visit.
There are monkeys playing around on the trail which can be fun to see. And some dogs keeping them in check in case they get too excited. Make sure to pack water and an extra tee because you'll work up a sweat on the way up!
All in all, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Tiger Cave Temple if you want some exercise with a dose of culture and killer views. Don't psych yourself out about the stairs - take breaks and you'll get there! The scenery at the top is worth it.

Worth a trip if you're in the area. Free entry and you can easily spend a few hours here if you're wanting to walk up the 1,200 steps to the top. Make sure you take plenty of water as you will need it. Great views at the top and you're rewarded with free water or you can buy cold water and snacks from the small shop.

This is a great place to visit during the morning or evening in cooler temperatures. It took us around 30 minutes to get to the top, though we did pass some people along the way. Something worth mentioning is that visiting this temple is no longer free and from March 2024 the entry cost is 50baht per person. The views from the top are great and it’s a lot windier up there which is refreshing.
Jamie Waller — Google review
When they said 1237 steps they meant it. The caveat is that some of those steps are on metal ladders attached to the cliff face and it is STEEP! In high temperature and humidity it was a massive challenge.
The view is spectacular. At the bottom there is a lot to explore. Definitely worth the trip.

One of the place must see and not to be missed! Tiger Cave Temple, a place you can come for worship or exertion. Small fees for non Thai tourists.
Stairs climbing are not for the faint of heart. Get proper non-slip shoes or sandals. Small bottle of water recommended for hydration or unexpected turn of event. The view is breathtaking and worthwhile.
Follow the rules on proper clothing would be beneficial.

Gorgeous place. It's not an easy climb, but the view is breathtaking. The steps are steep, there's no drinking water available up there, there are 2 washrooms on the way up, there are railings on both sides to hold. The descend isn't easy either, feet tremble and it gets very hectic. But it's all worth the view! There are no tickets to this, you're welcome to donate for the temple fund as per your wish.
Vaishnavi B N — Google review
30-45 min hike to walk up the well maintained 1200 stairs. Take a stick with you to hold back cheeky monkeys. The view on top is amazing and the temple beautiful. It’s free to hike up but you can leave a donation for the monks that maintain the temple.
Lennard Greve — Google review
I went there on the sunrise. Peaceful place.
The viewpoint with the Golden Buddha is really worth it but you have to be sure about your health and definitely take some water with you. It is 1260 steps, pretty hard way up but once you make it you would be impressed by the view.
Nataliya Burmistrova — Google review
Moderate-hard climb. Doable in 20-30 minutes with good condition. The view was wonderful. We advise you to come later in the day when most of the tours are already passed.

The tiger cave temple walk is difficult! You have to climb over 1200 steps with 200 m of elevation. My husband and I are both fit and healthy and struggled to do this walk. We were drenched in sweat from the humidity. We went here as part of a day trip so we were there in the afternoon. Definitely better to go in the morning or evening. The views were absolutely worth it. The Buddha on top is large and impressive.
Renee Richter — Google review
Very nice temple and for free :) only donation if you'd like but otherwise you won't pay anything.
The walk up to the top is absolutely worth it
You'll go 1260 steps up the hill to reach the top.
Take enough water with you because you'll need it!
But on the top is a water refill station for free :)
The view is amazing and the Buddha is very beautiful!
Just be careful and watch out for the monkeys, they like taking things away hahah
Joe “Weltbummler” — Google review
Beautiful magnificent temple. It took me about 45min to go all the way up (as I needed to stop time to time). The views are gorgeous so it is well worth the effort. There is a water fountain at the end, which was very much appreciated.
Marisol Romero — Google review
Very nice place, great view at the top, remember water! Free water refill at the top was empty.
Not free as of march 2024, people at the start entrance changing 50 baht.
Beware of the monkeys, looks friendly, but they are not!

This is a great way to spend an evening. You need to be fit enough to clip steep stairs. If you don't mind taking your time, most active people should make it to the top. We went at 4pm when the sun wasn't so hot. I would recommend bringing water. Lots more to explore if you continue up the second set of stairs further inside the temple grounds.
Alexander Johnson — Google review
The hike is amazing and the views worth it, if you are fit you can go up in 20 minutes or less and down maybe in 15! You should keep you shirt in the temples but during the hike you can dressed as you want, there is also plenty of toilets and drinking water on the top!
Alfonso Sanchez — Google review
The views around the hike look very beautiful. But the destination itself never surprised me. if you are planning to hike during afternoon time, it will be very difficult for you because of the hot weather. You must bring bottle of water with you as there is no source of water or any kind of food above. Sunset time is recommended for this hike. 1200 steps are hard to climb but it gets easier with time.
Nasir — Google review
Worth the effort. Temp of 35 going up which made it harder so consider going earlier when cooler if you can.
Take a bottle of water and wear trainers!
Views from the top are great as are the monuments. The cave and big tree are set back as you go past the entry to Budda and are also worth a look. That's a much easier walk if elderly or have health issues. Enjoy
Matt H — Google review
We did it early in the morning 7am to ensure the heat didn’t prevent us from making it to the top. The view was stunning and worth the 1260 steps.
It’s a tough climb but we did it in 25 mins.
Krabi Town Night Market is a lively weekend market offering a variety of food, clothing, and souvenirs. Visitors can enjoy live music and find seating to relax while exploring the stalls. While Krabi Town may not be as popular as neighboring Ao Nang or Railay, it boasts several attractions such as Tiger Cave Temple, Mu Koh Hong, Railay Beaches & Caves, and more. This small provincial capital has plenty to offer for a one or two-day itinerary.
So good to see so many locals and tourists at Krabi Night Market. The coconut smoothie is not to be missed. It's at the drink stall right at the entrance, run by a couple. There is live music, lots of food selection, clothes and apparels as well as locally made products. Try the bamboo cocktail. Warning ⚠️ it may be potent to some people! Don't forget to get a caricature portrait done by the talented artist.
Esther Bebe — Google review
It’s not a big market but it has many of the food you want to eat in a night market with few repetition. There are some non-food stalls but not many. Still a nice market to grab street food. There is an eating area with tables and chairs plus bonus live performance from singing to traditional dances while we were there on a Sunday night.
Siewling Lay — Google review
In terms of clothing and souvenirs, this market is small compared to the markets in Phuket, Chiang Mai and Bangkok. As for the part with the food market offers a big selection of Thai food. This is a good place to walk, eat and drink.
Mario Pavi? — Google review
We paid to be taken here and back and spent around 1.5-2 hours, it was enough time and probably could have left earlier.
Wide variety of food but a few places ran out quickly as it was so busy.
Not really a lot to buy and nothing different from where we were staying also no difference in price, but they have a great shop at the back dedicated to film memorabilia if you like things like that.
There was a large seating area and stage in the middle with entertainment, you have to be really quick to sit when someone starts to move.
Worth visiting for the variety of food alone but go early to avoid missing out.

Nice atmosphere but mostly food. Some nice stalls with crafts. Vegetarian options more limited but can be found.
Am hour is enough time to get round the whole thing and eat. Bonus is the acts on the stage. Good fun to watch.

One of the better markets we have seen. Lots of vendors and much more unique stuff than many of the markets. The food vendors are fantastic. There is a huge range and very good prices. We tried many things and they were all good. Make sure you find the 99 baht cocktails they were delicious.

Absolutely loved the experience.
There are so many food stalls and other stalls that sell different items.
You absolutely must visit this market if you are in town on the weekend, you will not regret it.
We spent the whole evening roaming around and enjoying the scenery, shopping and just relaxing.
You will find so many interesting things to buy, to eat and to see there.
Hope this helps 🙏

Nice nightmarket with the usual snacks, vendors and entertainment one would associate with Thailand. Almost certain to find lots of food options you'll like. Some good bargains to be had too if you haggle.
Lots of seating and easy to find if in Krabi Town

‼️ Visited here 2 days in a row since I stayed nearby at Lada Krabi. It was just a 5 minutes walk to this night market. Glad I came here because I got to try their foods. There are lots of choice if you come early. Make sure to come here if you are happen to be nearby during the weekends. There are also muslim friendly food that you could try. I would personally recommend the grilled potato. It tasted awesome!

Nothing comparable to those night markets in Bangkok. But it is the best market Krabi can offer. Mainly focusing in street food and some souvenirs. Not much on clothing. Have a stage with singing entertainment. Can spend 1-2 hours there.

we came 2 times in the morning at about 8-9 o'clock, the first time we met a family of several people, the second we were alone. after a hot waterfall, it is especially pleasant to dive into a cold river. besides the waterfall, there are several artificial pools with hotter water. complete relaxation of the mind and body. entrance for foreigners 200 baht, but believe me, a visit is worth every baht you'll spent!
Marina Zvyagina — Google review
Great and relaxing experience! The natural hotspring has formed a waterfall and few small natural pools where you can sit and enjoy the 40 - 45 degrees hot water and the natural "jacuzzi". Go there at around 10 - 10:30, during weekdays. Weekends are not the best due to the crowded area. Take some clothes and a towel for changing after bath. When you'll be out of the hot pools you'll need some iced drink to get cooled. There is a shopping area and you can sit and taste a fresh fruit iced shake. Enjoy! It worth all the the money and time spent there!

It gets really busy in the afternoon, so come as early as possible to avoid the big crowds. The waterfall hot stream is really gorgeous and so nice to sit in. It is not too hot so you can actually sit, enjoy and relax.
You cannot miss this when in Krabi and you like to be in a natural pool.

200 baht/person. There is one restaurant open at the food court by the gate and toilets. The place is ok, maintained, but can be filled with people. It is better to stay at one of the nearby hotels with direct private access to the hot springs (not Wareerak though).
Omar — Google review
BEAUTIFUL spot to relax and bathe in some warmth! There was an entry fee of course but very small. It’s about a 5 minute walk down to the stream which can be very slippery so be careful where you step! But the luxurious bathing holes are worth this trip!
Amber Leffers — Google review
The stream itself has too many visitors at once. When we visited, there were multiple tour vans full of tourists. The space is very limited in the stream. They do have large hot spring pools a short walk before you reach the stream. The large pools vary in temperature. The smallest pool has the highest temperature water. Pretty hot and you can only sit for a few minutes. Great to sit in and get a good stretch in. Great to warm up your muscles. I honestly would skip this place if you're not on a tour with multiple locations. Not very interesting if this is your only stop for tourism. Way to crowded and busy to truly enjoy nature and the experience.
Steve Sabu — Google review
When you charge 10 times the price to foreigners, then it must be really good, and quite frankly, it was very disappointing. There are both some walled pools and some pools with a lot of stones where the water from the river is stopped before it flows into the river. The rocks are very smooth and definitely not a place where I wanted to break my legs.
The changing facilities were a tacky house that might once have looked nice.

Great place to spend a day.
The hot stream is really nice to stay and relax, after that you take a dip in the river to refresh. And then repeat!
Very clean and well maintained. Absolutely loved the place and would definitely recommend you to visit if you are in the area. Do keep extra time as you will want to stay for whole day.
Hope this helps 🙏

Fun hot springs! It is in a waterfall and so there are several small pools to explore. The river below the falls is cool water if you end up getting too hot.

A Must visit place in Krabi.
This hot stream holds medicinal properties as it contains natural minerals and elements which is helpful for the body.
A 15-20 min hot bath is advisable as long exposure to hot water of about 50-60 degrees for more than 30min affects badly for the skin and body.
300meters walk from the ticket counter. This place is a hidden gem in Krabi.
Must visit place.
Favourite spot ❤️

It's not a place to stay as much as you want. Too many people rushing around and overall a small area. There are altogether 6-8 small pools in the shade of big trees. Good for children.

A very peaceful peaceful dip in the hot springs. This place is in an enclosed resort I guess because before the hot spring i managed to get a massage for under 200 baht within the property on my walk towards the hot stream, and then took the best dip of my life with nature! 100% recommend this for an extremely peaceful afternoon. However go in the early noon or morning (9am), it gets pretty crowded as time passes.

A cool spot to chill at if you absolutely love people in your face. Not worth the price but I did feel extremely relaxed after spending some time in the waterfall.
There's a short walk from the parking lot to the waterfall - maybe 500m or so but bathrooms on the way so you can change. There are also other pools to wade and relax in which was nice because everyone and their moms were at the waterfall.

The Hot Springs in Krabi, Thailand, are a true marvel of natural beauty, and our visit left us utterly enchanted. Nestled amidst lush bamboo trails, the journey to the hot springs is as breathtaking as the destination itself, offering a serene escape into nature's embrace.
As we followed the scenic bamboo trails, we were greeted by the melodious sounds of nature and the tranquil ambiance of the surroundings. The verdant foliage provided a picturesque backdrop, setting the stage for the unforgettable experience that awaited us.
Upon reaching the hot springs, we were immediately captivated by the crystal-clear water and the natural flowing current cascading over the smooth and rounded rocks. These rocks, with their built-in seating, invited us to immerse ourselves in the soothing warmth of the springs, creating a serene oasis of relaxation.
The whole experience was nothing short of magical, making it the perfect day trip for anyone seeking a rejuvenating escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're soaking in the healing waters, marveling at the natural beauty that surrounds you, or simply basking in the tranquility of the moment, the Hot Springs in Krabi offer an unforgettable journey into one of nature's natural wonders.

It was a beautiful experience. The hot waterfalls were incredible. Bathing in them is an experience I'll never forget.
The site was a little sad as far as maintenance, and there's almost no control or safety in place. The infrastructure for many of the buildings was in a dilapidated state.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It's absolutely worth going!

Now this was pretty awesome. Get there early to avoid too many people. I can imagine the experience would not be as good as our if it was packed with too many people. Felt sooooo good to let the hot water and minerals soak into your skin. Highly recommend visiting this place.

We thought it would be too hot taking into account the weather outside but it turned out just fine! The stream at the bottom is cold and refreshing which hits the spot after the hot pools. Quite far from Aonang, so I wouldn’t go there by bike another time. Overall, loved it! The entrance fee is 200 baht per person.
We arrived at about 3 pm and it wasn’t crowded at all. There’s a food court but it’s deserted so we didn’t dare to eat there.
The Emerald Pool is a mineral lake in a lush forest, which is a popular swimming spot. A wooden walking track leads visitors on an 800m - 1400m walk through the serene forest to reach the pool. The walk offers scenic views of waterfalls and the sounds of birds and insects, making it therapeutic for nature lovers. The natural pool has dark cyan coloured water that comes from trapped rocks beneath its surface. Swimmers are allowed to dip into the pool wearing swimsuits only.
absolutely beautiful place that really makes you appreciate nature. was pretty crowded but was still able to really appreciate the beauty of the pool. definitely a must see while you’re in krabi!

A beautiful, serene place worth a visit. We enjoyed a 800m - 1400m walk into the forest to witness the emerald pool. The walk itself was scenic and therapeutic; we witnessed calming waterfalls, sounds of birds and insects and nature. The emerald pool is all natural with beautiful dark cyan coloured water that comes from trapped rocks underneath the surface. You’re free to dip in the pool as long as you have a swimsuit. It’s recommended to visit earlier in the morning rather than later in the afternoon as it closes at 16:30 pm. Do note that there is a 20 baht entry fee for Thai adults, while foreigners will be charged more. Other than that the public sanctuary also has a bird observing attraction worth a visit.

If you see a scene like this, will you keep quiet without splash into the water? Just with 200 bath to enter this national park, you can see an emerald pool in conservation area. With a lot of wild plant and animal.
Natural atmosphere accompanied me through the trail to the emerald pool. Birds and forest song blends beautifully with the sound of the river around it. Various kind of flowing water, some are through shallow pools, deep and areas, also ripples from river flow contours.
Some parts beside the emerald pool are slippery because of moss. While the bottom of the pool is sandy which will become cloudy if there is too much turmoil in the water. The rest of the pool is clear with the nature temperature. Make sure you don't bring any food and all kinds of soap. It seems the prohibited is a management effort to maintain the naturalness and cleanliness of this area. Must see while you’re in Krabi!

We decided to drive to Emerald pool via motorbike which took us 1 hr 30 mins. As per our research this place gets very crowded mid morning so we decided to leave earlier and got to this gem at 9am. We were a bit skeptical in the beginning as we were 1 out of 3 small groups there. At one point we had the pool to ourselves. By the time we left(10am) we saw 3 huge tour busses and 5 vans full of tourist arriving. We were super relieved with our decision. So if you ever decide to go, make sure to arrive before 10am! We managed to visit all three pools (Crystal, Emerald, and the blue lagoon). Note that you can only swim in the Emerald pool. It was super clean and clear. I recommend to bring aqua shoes, mosquito spray as you’ll be walking through hungry mosquitoes! And of course a towel. Swimming is a must! The water was very refreshing on a hot day. Entrance fee has been increased to 400 baht for tourists. Please note that they don’t accept card and toilets are 5-10 baht.

400 baht entry + expensive transport for a ‘natural’ pool. In my opinion not worth the visit, if you have extra time and money it is not bad. The pools and area are really beautiful, but I can imagine that different spots show the same beauty for a different price. Nice to have seen, will not come back.

a beautiful place where you can swim in a natural pool. The water has an emerald green color, hence the name Emerald Pool. The natural pool is surrounded by a lush jungle. Through the jungle run small streams that come together and the Emerald Pool is the wonderful result of this! Closes at 4:30pm. Better to visit emerald pool first then go to hot spring.

This was a fun experience for everybody. It was a nice walk and a nice place to visit. It was fun to swim there. The grounds are very well-maintained. Everything is nice and organized and the people were friendly. The scenery was beautiful. We had a great time and we would definitely return again. There are also vendors there you can get food and drinks. A very fun time for everyone. The water was very nice. The temperature was good and it was very clean.
I definitely recommend for people to take their families to this place. Go early and spend the whole day. There is no place to lock up your stuff. So leave your valuables in the car bring comfortable shoes and towels there are bathrooms and places to change your clothes . But you have things to see here. It’s a very nice tourist destination.

A wonderful quiet piece of Earth's paradise. The emerald pool is clean and well maintained. There aren't many tourists during Covid, and a beautiful walk through the forest leads you to the final location, which features a wonderful blue-colored pool. 400TB per adult which I feel is expensive for what it is.
The walk through the jungle was fine and the pool itself is lovely and great for a swim, and has some fish in there. We walked to the Blue Lagoon but for us it wasn't worth the walk, was a smaller blue pool of water that you can't swim in.
We went early in the morning and were the only one in the pool for some time which was nice.
Was nice to see the emerald pool but unsure if it's worth £20.

Stepping into emerald Pool Krabi is like crossing the threshold into a dream, a serene paradise that captivates the soul. The beauty of this place is almost surreal; your eyes will be dazzled by the splendor that surrounds you, embraced by the unspoiled arms of nature.
The natural pools are the star of the show, with water so crystal clear that you can see all the way to the bottom. It's a tranquil experience, a chance to connect with the earth in a way that's rare and precious.
From the lush greenery to the gentle ripple of the water, every aspect of Blue Pool Krabi sings a hymn of relaxation and wonder. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this extraordinary place; it's a journey into beauty that you won't soon forget.

There 3 natural pools. Crystal, Emerald and Blue. There are two paths. Better to take the nature trail which passes through the jungle. Out of these 3 pools you are allowed to swim in the Emerald pool only. My suggestion will be to see the Blue pool first and while coming down do swim in the Emerald pool.

Beautiful park with lots of well curated trails. The main areas then to be overwhelmed with tourists and large groups. The hike is a little longer than expected. It's not for the faint of heart. Many of the paths didn't have hand rail in place. This created a bit of a hazard, IMO. However, it also adds to the experience.

When in Krabi, you have to come see this natural phenomenon at the Emerald Pool. It is actually the last stop and is not a loop, so it is quite some walking to get there, but it is worth it! You cannot swim at the Emerald Pool itself, but you can at the other natural pool near the entrance.

Upon arriving at the Emerald Pool, we were greeted by the sight of crystal-clear water shimmering in the sunlight. The natural flowing current added to the allure, creating a tranquil oasis that felt like something out of a dream.
Swimming in the cool, refreshing waters of the Emerald Pool was an absolute delight, offering the perfect escape from the heat of the day. The water's clarity allowed us to see the vibrant colors beneath the surface, adding to the magic of the experience.
Overall, our visit to the Emerald Pool was a perfect day trip that left us feeling rejuvenated and inspired by the beauty of nature. Whether you're seeking relaxation or adventure, this hidden paradise offers an unforgettable escape into Thailand's natural wonders.

One of the many touristy locations in Krabi, while the spot is good & well maintained its very crowded. Need to walk around 1 km from the entrance but the way through is pleasant. The only issue is it's far away from any other location & easily a half day tour. Unless you desperately want to tick your checklist it can be skipped

It's a beautiful place with crystal clear waters.
There are a few short nature trails. And you can also walk up to blue pool, in which you cannot swim.
Swimming in Emerald pool was very pleasant, and it is very picturesque.
That being said, I do not think that it is worth the entrance fee and the cost of the journey there.
If you love short nature walks and love looking at clear water, I can still say that it may be worth a visit. Go early as the crowd later in the day gets pretty crazy.
But if you're hesitant about it, I would say to give it a miss.

Nice place, there's a small stream of hot water, and a the same for cold water. The water is clear, but the staff is very restricting - no jumping (even when I held my kid and threw her), they also asked that the kids don't climb the trees... and I felt uncomfortable with them watching all the time.
Honestly, not worth the price of entry, in my opinion (400 adults, 200 kids). No outside food allowed.

A bit crowded but definitely worth the experience. Out of nowhere a butterfly came and landed on my chin while in the Emerald pool. The waters were clean and crystal clear. Walked to the blue pool which was ok but the walk through the jungle was what made the extra hike worth it. We enjoyed the experience.

Emerald Pool in Thailand is an absolute gem! The stunning natural beauty of this place is truly captivating. The crystal-clear, emerald green water is like something out of a dream. It's the perfect spot to cool off and relax amidst the serene surroundings. The lush green forest adds to the charm and makes it a picturesque destination for nature lovers. The pool itself is well-maintained, and the facilities are clean and convenient. Whether you're looking for a peaceful swim or a tranquil hike, Emerald Pool is definitely worth a visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! 🌿💦🌴
Absolutely worth a visit if you like canopy and wetland walks.
The highlight is certainly the long canopy walk that is stretching over several towers and levels, some quite high up. There's also a nice walk on an elevated walkway through wetlands.
It takes about 1 hour to complete the 3km loop and although it's mostly in the shade it can get quite hot, bring plenty of water.
When we visited on a weekday there were only 3 other cars in the parking lot, we didn't see any other people but could hear some voices in the distance.
Entrance is free

Very well-protected and cared botanical garden! We enjoyed our time there a lot. No entrance fee. FREE! Walking here is a true nature therapy. Recommend to all city folk. Total distance of the canopy trail is approximately 3 kilometers. 🍃 3km is not that long when you enjoy reading all name tags of many different kinds of trees along the way.

Very quiet place to walk and explore the raised walkways. There is another circular route of about 5 km. that can be done on foot. One of the few places in Thailand that do not charge to enter (for now). highly recommended

Very nice walk (3km) into the forest on a concrete pathway, all the time in the shade and a very nice part on the canopy walkway.
Free carpark and free entry. I did the walk at the end of the afternoon, nearly nobody, it was very quiet and relaxing.
The access to the canopy walkway is by the main entrance of the Botanic Garden. Beware, Google Maps sent me on a dust track in the forest, I had to go back to the main road.

If you're anywhere near Trang then you should visit this botanical gardens. It has a robust steel canopy walkway that is worth visiting. Entry is free and you can spend the whole day soaking in the positive vibes from the jungle.

It's OK, for your morning exercise, walk. 3kms and allow 1.5 hrs, though I didn't stroll over to the herb garden. Arrived 0830, done 1000, very leisurely stroll, what few stops for photo (quick, no posing).
Actually went there for birding, heard 2, saw 1 species, and a bit disappointing in that aspect, but nice stroll none the less.
IF in the neighborhood, why not. Wouldn't bother with a special trip though, and I would bother revisit if in the neighborhood again. Once was enough.
If into plants, then probably enjoy it more.
3 tiera of raised walkway, maybe 50 meters each, and nice enough. Nothing strenuous.
Mozzies not a problem, a few, and not the Dengue type. Long pants worn, and didn't really need long sleeve shirt, which I didn't wear. In the shade most of the walk, but no breeze.
LA smyth — Google review
Really nice walk through the forest and a swamp. Best part of course was the high hanging walkway. Some parts was higher over the trees. But some rust made it feel little unsafe, some parts hade holes all the way through the metal. And the last walk hade some overgrown paths that made it hard to walk, with fallen sticks with small spikes you almost hard the crawl under. But still worth the beautiful walk.
Robin “roTs” — Google review
It is a shady forest garden. I visited on a cloudy and windy day. It seems like it's going to rain, so we can't walk much and hurry back.
Big trees, shady, with a sign telling the name of the tree and QR-code provide addition information. The great thing is that there is no entrance fee, people can go for jogging or cycling.
In addition, there is a coffee shop near by the entrance. So, after trailing, you can sit back for coffee or have a small snack.
Banyen Sae-Lee — Google review
Nice and quite big botanical garden just outside Trang. The canopy walk is nice, and if you continue on the path you get to a swamp with some slippery walkways. They could have had more maps of the trail than just the single one at the start though.

The busiest place on this beach is around the Mermaid statue, it takes a long time to take a photo in front of the statue, because the queue is long, the beach is clean, the location is fun to explore and there are souvenir shops & drink sellers available

Nice airy beach space great for a day out with families. There's horse / pony rides for kids around and lots of small stores selling knick knacks / snacks / sand building toys.
A bunch of seafood stores just down the road as well - great for dinner !

1st time here, love the vibes of the beaches. There are bunches of food stall available around here. If looking for seafood also I would say can go for it since the price quite ok. Not too pricey not too cheap. Would say reasonable.

If you go to Songkhla, you must visit this mermaid at least once. It's at the same Samida beach 🏖 area where you'll find Thai cowboys with their horses offering you a ride with their well trained horses.
Also on the same beach is the cat and mouse sculpture.
There's a history to the existence of both. 😂

Good place to walk in the evening for chilling and picnic. All you have to do is bring your own mat, cups, plates, rubbish bag and cutlery. Along the street, there are people selling food and drinks; fried crab, prawn fritters, fruits and ice cream etc. The prawn fritters are so good, crispy with lots of prawn definitely recommended to get them. As for the mermaid sculpture, it's no longer golden as the name described. The best is just to take photo from far as it will be crowded and during pandemic, best not to touch it. According to my mom, the sculpture smells a bit weird. There are few activities you can do there like picnic, play kite, horse riding, swim or just whatever you can do at the beach. Washroom and shower room available along the beach by the small shops selling clothes and hats, 5-10 Baht per entry.

The Mermaid Sculpture was unique. It attracted a lot of tourists to visit this place.
It was a relaxing place to chill under the shades if the weather was good.
It's worth a trip to take photos with this Sculpture.

Locals say to touch the breast of the mermaid, and your wish may come true. Come just before sunset to get the best lighting and color. And don't forget to make a wish while cupping a handful of bronze. Oh yes, there is a beach with not so soft sand and horses that you can pay to ride.

Beautiful beach to spend your evenings! There are local vendors nearby for quick snacks and souvenirs. This is a small size statue roughly human size. People were in queue to get pictures taken with the mermaid though 😁
Akhil — Google review
The most crowded spot on the beach is the mermaid statue, but there are plenty of other places to relax and enjoy the view. We spent about 15-20 minutes jogging and taking photos, then grabbed a beverage from Amazon Coffee and continued to chill on the beach.
Overall, Mermaid Beach is a good place to chill and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Great view and great place to chill out. Very windy and refreshing. Lots of small stalls around to get drinks or buy hats as well.

💢 You may need to queue in order to take the pictures with the statue. Around this area there are local vendors where you can get souvenirs and street foods. If you come from Hatyai Town, it will take 40 min journey to here. Advisable to rent a bike, by tuk tuk or Grab.
‼️ This mermaid was sculpted in 1966 by Jitr Buabus, the former director of the Arts and Craft College in Bangkok. It was constructed with a budget of 60,000 Baht funded by Songkhla Municipality and has become the symbol of Samila Beach ever since.

I came here about 10 years ago. Nothing changed much. But the statue still remains as favorite spot for photoshoot.
You could possibly get a good deal for things sold at nearby shops.
We managed to get various type of baskets at the open area much cheaper than other places.
Food stalls, an aviary & a pavilion on a pond are installed amid sculpture & flower gardens.
Sadly the aviary is now closed, but this very big park is still a magnificent place, with gorgeous viewpoints and lots of rare trees. The cable-car might be fun, but it's 100 for Thais and 200 for foreigners. I very much resent the blatant xenophobia of this policy so I didn't try it. Grow up, Thailand.

Back here after one year. Great view point overlooking entire hat yai. Wheelchair accessible - you can drive directly up right to the foot of the Buddha statue, just be considerate and park along the side so as to not block anything.
You can pay for prayers or just sit here to enjoy the view. The cafe seems closed.

Worth to visit if you keen doing some outdoor activities. Walked around 40 mins from the other route to get there and luckily it was welcomed by great sunset. We can also see entire city from above, Great Mosque of Songkhla, The Big Lake of Songkhla, and 180 degrees view of mountainous range which surround Hat Yai city. Love the Buddha statue and others religious marks there.

Worth visiting attraction in Hatyai, approximately to stay for 2 to 3 hours. It has few temples which you can visit on the way down the hill and also the hill view of overall part of Hatyai. Cable car is available but only able to reach 2 temples. Better to take tuk tuk where you are able to stop each and every spot.

The beautiful place with very large area. U can ride cable car for 200 baht. Or take picture of many statue in this area. Its very large. Make sure to explore all of them. Its on the uphill so there's only tuktuk or grab for public transportation.

The very beautiful park with a nice pond at the bottom where a lot of families and friends picnic at. Some small stores around selling some food and activities to do at the open space.
You can catch a ride from the bottom (yellow truck) at only 20 baht per person. It will send you to the top where the tall buddha is. You can walk around and see the rest of the areas by walking.
Very nice and relaxing and authentic place.

This park is masive and it consists of 3 sightseeing temples. From downhill on the way up, will reached the majestic Guan Yin Buddha and Guan Gong statue. On the way up will reached the 2nd sightseeing which is the standing Buddha. From here the view from the top is really amazing. To the top is the 4 Face Buddha. Cable car service is available.

Alor Setar Tower is a remarkable structure featuring a revolving restaurant, observation deck and gift shop that offers stunning panoramic views of the city. Visitors have the option to enjoy the observation deck which provides an 88 meter height view of Alor Setar's scenery at a reasonable price compared to the exclusive Open Deck sky box. The observation deck offers an open space with continuous breeze and old binoculars available for use.
A tower in city. Offering a great view of the city, the paddy fields, sea & mountains. Getting up there doesn't take long to reach the open deck which is 105m in height as lifts are available. And some coffee at the rotating restaurant will be great before you head down.

Visited the observation deck(RM6/Adult) instead of the much expensive Open Deck sky box (RM24/Adult). I think it is more than enough to view the Alor Setar's scenery from there at 88 meter height unless you want to have some portraits shooting. The observation deck is actually not an enclosed space so you can feel the continuous breeze up there. The binoculars seem old as the lens appeared yellow when looking into it.

3rd tallest tower in Malaysia and you can see nice view of Alor Setar from the tower. The fee is RM7 for observation deck and RM 25 for star view. If you are not an acrophobia you may go to the star view but for me, just the observation deck.

Tower View = 2 ⭐️
Photobooth = 0 ⭐️
Price = Overprice. RM25 per adult (skyview), RM7 observation deck.
I gave it 2 stars just for the view. Anything else, not to the standard for the price tag. For skyview (priced RM25), it's not worth it. For two observation deck (or box) with glass and birdview of Alor Setar, it was overpriced. Nothing else was offered besides the view. As for the photobooth, this one was a major dissappointment. They took photos with a green screen background and then they printed an edited version of (what I could interpreted) Microsoft Word / Powerpoint edit-style things. Please train your editors better, or better; just ditch the green screen and take the photo inside the glass observation box. That'll more worth for the price of RM30 for 1 picture (or RM60 for the whole 3 set of low-skilled edited picture).

Cheong Fatt Tze, The Blue Mansion is a charming property that offers classic rooms and suites, some of which feature plunge pools. It is known for its fusion restaurant and elegant decor, featuring an exquisite mix of antiques and art deco furniture. Situated in the historic center of George Town, it is a must-see landmark in the area. The neighborhood surrounding it is filled with colonial and Chinese heritage buildings, atmospheric temples, and narrow streets.
I love this place. An Elegant and historical mansion with full of details. Well maintained. Very cosy room, love the fact they use name instead of room number! Good location. Good breakfast. Friendly and very helpful staff. Couldn't recommend a better place to stay in Georgetown, I will definitely stay there next time.

This was our first trip to Malaysia. We were especially impressed by people serving us during our stay. There was no feeling of a "rush hour" although everything functioned well. We also enjoyed a very airy room - the ceiling was high up! The leader of a guided tour in the mansion was a real expert. Maybe we even missed something because we do not know a Chinese culture so well. Food in the Indigo restaurant was overall very tasty and well prepared, some combinations, however not to my taste.

I liked the vibe of the town house we stayed at despite it being a drive away from the blue mansion itself. It was a unique experience and would recommend to anyone who wants a genuine feel of the wonderful George Town. The reason I'm giving this accommodation a five is because I was infuriated on the very last day when the iron provided by the hotel melted blue paint or plastic, very fitting, on the collar of my brand new shirt that I was trying to iron and when I repeatedly tried to call reception to demand it be dry cleaned immediately I couldn't get through and when I eventually did many hours later, they told me laundry was closed for the day and that it would need to be taken care of the next day. I was checking out the next day so that was useless.

The blue color of the mansion stood out among the buildings on the street and I was amazed by the majestic architecture of this ancient place.
They have a guided tour at certain times of the day and you have to pay for it, which kind of forcing visitors to pay just to enter even though I didn’t want the tour and just wanted to have a look and take photos of the place. I guess this is another way the place wants to generate more profits even though the place itself is a hotel.
I was impressed by how they detailed the history of the owner of the place and the interior decor. I furthered learned that this place has been a popular place for movie shootings as well, the known one was Crazy Rich Asians.
I’d love to stay here for a few nights one day just to enjoy and experience a stay at an ancient mansion.

Beautiful architecture and pleasant stay - to stay here is a bit like staying in a museum. High ceilings and antique furniture. As there are many original features, expects some quirks.
The courtyards are lovely for relaxing in with a cool drink and a book. As is the swimming pool area. Staff were efficient and helpful. Great to see drinking water in glass instead of plastic bottles. Likewise, I appreciated the full size toiletries instead of the plastic minis. There’s a lovely friendly cat here too!

Jafifah, the hotel manager, was everything we could ever ask for and more. On top of displaying superior professionalism, she went out of her way to make this wedding happen for us and reassured us that we were in good hands every step of the way.
On the day of the wedding, everything was so well-coordinated, from decor setup to the timing of food service of the amazing dinner spread Chef Jack had prepared. She and the staff members of The Blue Mansion worked so harmoniously with all the other vendors, we really could not have asked for more.
We highly recommend The Blue Mansion to anyone who’s considering having their wedding here.

Wonderful 3 night stay at The Blue Mansion. Rooms are spacious & well equipped. Helpful friendly staff. Lovely cocktails in the courtyard bar. Mangga Restaurant serves good food and has nightly music. Blue Mansion had been wonderfully restored. One of my favourite hotels worldwide.

As a historic landmark, it lacks some features compared to modern hotels. But the experience of staying here is so unique, it is still worth it. The free breakfast is amazing too!

We loved our guided tour! Such a beautiful building with rich history. Our tour guide was insightful and lovely. It was however frustrating that she was rudely interrupted by an outsider tour group multiple times... they shouldn't be allowed to operate while genuine tours are in progress.
Also a shout out to the member of staff who offered to take photos of my family! He really went above and beyond to get the perfect shot!

Availed the 45min-1hr guided tour for 25 RM. It was worth it since the mansion is well preserved, and our guide Alexis is a good speaker. I learned a lot and if I can afford it I would like to try to stay in one of the rooms in the future. Kudos also to the nice and friendly staff 🙂

We thought the mansion was beautiful. However, we had booked a tour with a guide who was very difficult to hear. We were with a very large group. Halfway the tour we decided to leave, since we couldn't hear anything the guide was telling us and we were packed between other people.
Maybe the audio tour is better?

This is a heritage cultural historical building. So there's no words that will be adequate to convey its elegance and feel. I guess this is one of the places that you will just need to come physically to appreciate the building. Came here for dinner so will review the food.
Coming to the food, I must say I enjoyed the simple 4 course dinner. They are all simple, elegant and tasty dishes. They started with capellini which came lightly flavoured but delicious when lightly dabbed with the dashi foam. The soup meanwhile had a lighter cauliflower taste than I expected but the scallop was perfectly seared. As for the snapper, even though I found the fish a tad dry, the combination of taste and texture of the accompanying parts were done nicely. The conclusion dessert brought a good end to the meal. A bit heavier than I expected but I can't fault it's deliciousness.

The Pinang Peranakan Mansion is a heritage house that was converted into a museum in the early 1900s. It is full of antiques and artifacts from wealthy Chinese-born merchant Kapitan Chung Keng Kwee. The mansion has an eclectic East-meets-West charm and it is easy to spend hours exploring its rooms.
It is such a beautiful place jam packed with so much history. The mansion is so huge, you would definitely need to take your time to explore. Bonus: there is a souvenir shop tucked in the back of the mansion.
The staff was very friendly and gave us a free short tour of the mansion before we began exploring. The antiques and furniture were well maintained. There are many helpful info boards all around, you just have to keep your eyes out for it. The restoration of the building was done fantastically, making the mansion come to life

I highly recommend it to those traveling to Georgetown. You should never miss this attraction.
Entrance fee is affordable at RM20 per adult and totally worth the price. We visited at 10am during a public holiday and just in time for a mandarin tour at 10.30am which is very informative.
The mansion is so large that it is hardly noticeable from the outside, and I might have missed some areas without a guided tour. In addition, there are many antiques that are meticulously displayed.
I really appreciate the effort of the current owner to preserve this historical and cultural heritage, and presented to the public.

The Peranakan Mansion was full of history and you can feel it once you step into the place. We went for a guided English tour where the guide told us about the rich story behind this place.
You can easily immerse yourself here for hours, the mansion is huge. You need to take off your shoes for the 2nd floor so I would recommend wearing socks.

Visited the mansion in the afternoon. We reached the mansion pretty late so it was near closing time. However, we made it for the last tour of the day (English version). The tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the mansion. He showed us and explained to us interesting facts and trivia about various designs and purposes. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

Beautiful and well-preserved old architecture and furniture. I didn't join the guided tour which happens at certain time slots.
I brought my grandparents here and they love it. So many rooms and things to marvel at. Lots of places to rest and sit. Photo spots at every corner.
The gift shop in the museum is lovely as well.
We visited right when the museum opened at 10am and did not need to queue to enter.

Beautiful space - breath-taking and a real joy to visit.
The RM20 entry fee is well worth it - it's beautifully maintained and a delight to wander in.
I particularly enjoyed the central courtyard and the different tiles throughout the premises, as well as the ancestral hall and the paintings.
The pictures don't do it justice - I highly highly recommend you come visit.

Highly recommend a visit to this mansion and join a group with a guide in the museum that is included in the entrance ticket available in Mandarin and English. So rich in history and also gives a good visual representation of what it was like in Penang in the past. The links with China and also England, and also trade with European nations are seen in the objects and design of the mansion. Good to go a little earlier in the day as after the guided tour, there’s time to go around to take more photos and have a closer look at the extensive collections of antiques that tell their stories.

Beautiful mansion with a lot of interesting artifacts and a hearty guide (we had an elderly gentleman) who really has pride and insight into the rich memory of the place.
Also guests are allowed to touch almost everything and sit on all antique chairs and sofas, which brings a live spirit to the music rather than a stale atmosphere of dust of usual museums.
Great dive into history of local populace and their adventures!

The owner did a good job at refurbishing and preserving a piece of important history ! The collection was amazing.
I’m really glad that I visited this place, as I finally got to see how it looks inside of a heritage building. I’m still in awe of how rich the Peranakan culture is (and also how loaded someone could be). Throughout the guided tour, it’s apparent that some riches are just unattainable 😂 Out of reach for peasants like us…
Mr. Stanley was an amazing guide to us - an amazing storyteller. The storytelling was so vivid that you’ll feel as if you’ve travelled time. I’m pretty sure he’d repeated it so many times but his enthusiasm was palpable - through the clap of his hands.
Loved it. Highly recommend.

The tour guide in English was so nice and funny! Sometimes, the accent was difficult to follow as he was wearing a face cover/mask. The house is huge and lots to explore in one hour.
Definitely recommend doing the free tour. Otherwise, it's hard to appreciate!
What I liked most is the fact that you can sit and touch almost everything, unlike other museums.
You can also go in and out as you wish all day.
I highly recommend visiting.
Bonus points as King Charles and Queen Consort Camila visited a few years ago, and they also do movie scenes there like Crazy Rich Asians!

One of the things I enjoyed the most in Georgetown. The entry ticket is only 5 dollars, but it's a great value because there's a one hour guided tour in English every 30 mins.
Our tour guide was a very funny Chinese gentleman who took his time to explain to us the history of the mansion in an interesting way and show us every single room. The mansion has many collectibles and rare artifacts from over 200 years ago, some of them are considered priceless.
I totally recommend to add visiting this mansion to your itinerary and get the chance to immerse into it's treasures

I think it's fairly an old hotel from the way it looks inside. Neat and tidy though. All amenities are available and the standard room is a good sized one.
It's centrally located and near a shopping mall. There is also a moderate sized swimming pool and gym. Good for a family stay. There are many small departmental stores nearby so it's convenient if u need any quick eats or drinks.
Lots of street foods just a few minutes walk away. The front desk staff are very courteous and there is also a large spacious cafe in the lobby area. Would love to come back again.

English guide tour started at 130pm on a Monday when I visited, but I think honestly that you could show up anytime and there will be a tour you can catch with just a bit of a wait. There is an upstairs section where no shoes are allowed which isn’t covered by the tour, so that could be a good way to fill time.
Bring cash to pay for your ticket (25 ringgit) if you’re in a small group. I did see card payment accepted but for a tour group of 17 people.
If the blue mansion is the immaculately adorned Nyonya without a single hair out of place, this is the fun sister with a reputation for the best gossip. Walking through this place felt like visiting family. If you need to sit for a break, I recommend the jewelry section as it’s one of the few air conditioned spots.

The mansion has least view from outside. But within ,it has some exquisite collections of the royal family holdings. The place is well maintained and beautifully arranged. There is an entrance fee of RM 50, but there is lots to see and you can spend around 1 hr seeing the displays. At 1.30pm,there is a guide tour also
.The staffs are helpful and there are lots of photogenic items. Inhouse stores are also there for buying souvenirs

It's a really historical mansion, with many interesting things to know about! However the ventilation situation really isn't the best... Yes there are standing fans to help blow air, but in most of the mansion, it's really hot and not a lot of fresh air flowing in. Also you need to take off your shoes if you want to explore up to the 2nd level as well (but the things are really interesting!) there's also a tour where your tour guide will tell you more information about the mansion.

Pinang Peranakan Mansion: A Glimpse into the Past, But Not Without Quirks
The Pinang Peranakan Mansion offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich heritage of Penang's Peranakan culture. The 45-minute guided tour, led by an excellent, comedic guide (kudos to them!), was informative and engaging, bringing the history of the mansion and its inhabitants to life.
However, the experience is a bit uneven. The mansion itself boasts some truly stunning rooms, showcasing exquisite Peranakan furniture, intricate tilework, and beautiful textiles. These sections truly transport you back in time.
On the other hand, some rooms felt a bit average, with displays that weren't quite as captivating.
Another curious feature is the rather large on-site restaurant. While it might be convenient for grabbing a bite after the tour, its presence felt a bit out of place nestled within the historic mansion.
The gift shop also left me scratching my head. While Peranakan souvenirs are expected, the inclusion of generic items like Marvel character keychains felt jarringly out of place.
Customer Service is not their greatest strength. Even when buying tickets. They’re reluctant to accept card payments. Was told originally ‘Cash Only’ and has to be more than 100 Ringgit, which doesn’t make any sense. Eventually a card reader is shown and card payments are accepted, when I’d just paid 50 Ringgit. The person selling tickets also has a negative attitude and was very unprofessional. There’s also the slight issue of the sticker to wear to show you’ve paid for your ticket. I told them I’ll place the sticker, where I want it to be, not to be dictated.
You have time slots for either an English or Chinese tour guide.
Overall, the Pinang Peranakan Mansion is worth a visit, especially if you're interested in Penang's cultural heritage. Just be prepared for a mixed bag – breathtaking rooms and historical insights alongside some slightly odd additions.
Getting there is easy. You can hail a Grab taxi or, if you're feeling adventurous and the Penang heat isn't too oppressive, it's definitely walkable.

They have english/chinese tours every 30 minutes (though the chinese tours are only every hour or so, I believe). If you're bilingual, I recommend the Chinese tour because it's more in-depth, at least based on what I overheard. Though the English guide is also very friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable.

An opulent, well-maintained and magnificent looking Peranakan house, both exterior and interior, with history and heritage. Many interesting items on display. There are guided tours conducted in English or Mandarin during certain time slots. When I went there, there were many visitors but not much of a queue. Staff are welcoming and friendly.

This is one of the must visit places when in Penang.
It's a historical house that a rich Chinese businessman had built in the late 1800s early 1900s.
The businessman was so rich that he also built a Chinese Temple next door, as well as a separate museum, with a dining room and kitchen buildings at the rear.
A lovely mansion that is well furnished with beautiful furnishings, and easily takes you back to yesteryear.
The Temple, museum and the kitchen are also worth visiting and are all included in the one entry price of 25RM as at Oct 2023.
I visited during the off-peak season and it was somewhat busy, but in peak season it could possibly be crowded.
The buildings are air-conditioned and this makes for an excellent atmosphere and encourages taking the time to view all that is on display. Allow between 1-3 hours to see everything depending on how much time you wish to spend taking in the great experience and looking at all the wonderful features, details and displays.
The history of how he made his fortune, including tin mining, is also interesting and worth reading about.
Excellent attraction. Enjoy.

Located in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, the Khoo Kongsi is an important temple and museum where visitors can learn about the history of the Chinese people in Southeast Asia. The building features intricate carvings and paintings, making it a must-see for anyone visiting Penang.
Beautiful, well-preserved compound that provides a wonderful reference of the Khoo clan's heritage, past and present.
There's a museum area on the ground floor that I recommend visiting before you head up the stairs to the second floor - it provides necessary context to a lot of what you'll see.
The space is wonderfully ornate, and the entrance fee of RM10 is worth it to look at the main building alone.
Highly recommended!

It’s an interesting place to learn how a clan lived 100 years ago in Georgetown and learn some history of the town. The main building is gorgeous, the ceiling, the pillars, the walls, everything is decorated in some way or another.
I recommend you to visit the buildings first and then the museum as the last one assumes that you already saw the building.
The only thing I really dislike was that the patio of this place is occupied as parking (at least when we were there) It cost nothing to not park in front of your beautiful building.

A beautiful Chinese temple just off Armenian street. We walked past the entrance initially as the temple is not visible from the street.

15RM pp. It’s a Chinese clan temple. In my opinion it’s not as beautiful as other temples in Malaysia like the Buddhist ones in Ipoh. So no big statues but the carvings and the decorations are very nice. I think that $3 is a bit too much but I didn’t regret spending them to see the temple.

Chew Jetty is a historical wooden stilt house village located on the waterfront in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The village dates back to the 19th century and is a popular tourist attraction due to its unique architecture and location overlooking the ocean.
Lovely walk down a narrow pier where you will find food, ice cream, hand made gifts, bags you name it. We walked down here every day as it was nice to interact with the locals. Just before entering the chew Jetty on the left is a man who serves noodles and rice for 7rm we are there everyday. At the end is a small temple and a lovely sea view

The crowd flocked to the jetty and few quiet houses formed a sharp contrast. Most traditional old wooden houses become little shops selling food and souvenirs makes this place commercialised. Feeling sad for residents here who don't want to be disturbed but some places like this are really attractive and good for visitors to walk around. Enjoying the gentle sea breeze and eating some good food, what a life.

Visited the jetty at about 6.30pm so I didn't managed to visit the shops as most of them are closed/closing in progress.
However, the jetty does allow you to see the sea, which make it a very good scenic place for photography.
If you like to fully explore the jetty (or the series of jetties found along the stretch), it might be useful to cater at least half day exploring the locations.
Accurate as of August 2023.

Nothing interesting. It is a small stretch with some houses on each side when you are walking in. I suppose this might be an interesting experience for some tourist. The views are okay but we reached the end in 10 mins and walked back.
There are some shops are the front before going in and inside it is mostly small souvenir stores and those selling ice cream.

A living cultural artefact, still filled with people staying there today, of a community who built their property into the sea. It was nice and the path was shaded, although it was low tide and the place smelt of stagnant water. Would be improved with better environmental control, although I had to say the area was pretty litter free.

Probably the most popular out of the clan jetties, it still retains the stilts houses with residents living in it. Some of the houses become partly souvenir/snacks stand which can be quite touristy, but nevertheless it's still a nice place to drop by for a walk to learn more about the history of the clan jetties. We visited very early morning (9am) to beat the crowd and heat and so not many shops were open and it's still quite calm and peaceful. There are a few street arts and nice lantern installation in the alley, and a temple near the entrance as well. No entrance fee, but be mindful of noise and respectful by not taking pictures without their permission as people live there.

A great tourist attraction for a leisure walk and sight-seeing. Walk to the end of the jetty through the wooden walkway and you will be rewarded with beautiful up sea views. Great to go in the morning and evening too. Just don't be noisy and interrupt the residents. 😃

As an historical place is interesting how people emigrated from China to the Malay Peninsula and how they grouped by families in houses over the sea and the influence they had in the city. The main problem is that there is only one sign with this information and the rest is a main hallway full of shops. If you want to see a more authentic one, you can find in this same Jetty, just take the path to the right as soon as you enter the place, is full of houses not oriented to sell you anything.

Time seemed to have stood still and it’s still back in 1970s or 80s where a simpler life existed.

Chew Jetty is the most developed and best preserved of all jetties, although other jetties are perhaps more picturesque. :-) There are now a total of 7 or 8 preserved clan jetties in George Town. Clan Jetties are villages on the water (stilts). They were built and inhabited by Chinese immigrants. There are several shops and cafes in the village.
On the shore, in front of the entrance, there is a small Chinese temple (Temple of the Monkey God). There are also several restaurants in the area.
There is not tickets to enter this area.

Despite the horrible start (British did not allow Chinese labourers to live on land) these communities built on stilts anchored in the water still thrive as living quarters and small businesses. Interesting murals and a temple at both ends of the jetty. Chew Jetty is the only one that allows tourists.
Leafy island sanctuary for endangered orang utans, with guided tours via an enclosed walkway.
Well worth the time and ticket price (inclusive of the ferry rides). The guide is very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals - kudos to her - hence able to answer all our questions. Orangutans seem to be well fed and look healthy. Also liked the secluded environment where the orangutans can roam around.
Do note the tour timings and location (located inside the resort, just follow the signboard)

Well maintained facilities with a dozen named orangutans. We were led through a caged plateformed walkway. Easy 20 minutes walk by a knowledgeable guide and a caretaker who fed the orangutans with oranges, mangoes and carrots. The apes were confined in electric fences.
You is a 20 minutes smooth and puntual ferry ride from the hotel to the reserve.
Adult tickets cost RM40 for foreigners, 30 for locals. And starts at 9AM.

This is an amazing foundation that is wholly funded on donations. The boat ride over is worthy of the entry fee. Just spending one hour talking to the guide and hearing the story of the Orangutan's 🦧 is amazing. Seeing them is also amazing, if travelling from a distance do this alongside something else as it's only just over an hour. Beautiful place, not overpriced and easy to find.
David Burton — Google review
Good educational place for kids to know the importance of orang utan conservation progeamme. According to the guide there were 24 orang utans in Peninsular Malaysia but now have been limited to 16. The total area of the island covers 36 acres. Out of which 15 acre is occupied for the conservation of orang utan and the remaining one is used by the researcher and other students for research purposes. I personally think that Rm 40 (non locals) and rm 30 (locals) are huge sum of amount just to watch orang utans. Not many people will have the chance to see these endangeroued species if they dont reduce the entrance fee.
Asif Khan — Google review
A great place to visit that I think isn’t very well known. This place is entirely self-funded, receiving no help from the government, and is well worth a trip if you’d like to see some orangutans without travelling to Borneo.
The island is accessible via a boat that leaves from Bukit Merah Laketown Resort and takes about 15-20 minutes. There are only a few boat trips a day (five I think) so make sure you plan in advance.
Once on the island, you’ll be taken on a short tour and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the orangutans or the foundations work. Our guide seemed very knowledgeable.
The facility is quite small - I think they had about 16 orangutans when we went and some were out in the forest and so we didn’t see them. I think you can see everything in less than an hour, but that was a positive for me as the heat out in the sun was pretty intense in the middle of the afternoon.
At the end of the tour, there is a small air conditioned waiting room with gift shop where you can get a souvenir and a drink while you wait for the boat to take you back to the mainland.
All in all, a worthwhile experience, especially for children and animal lovers.

Just a short boat ride from Tanah Merah Resort, the experience was surreal. Was my first time being so close to an orangutan.
5 stars go not only to the well-maintained island, but also the ongoing efforts in conservation and educating the public.
Met with a short rainfall but it was still worth it. A must visit.
Note: children and old folks get a discount.

It was an amazing experience, you have to ride on a boat to get to the island. Keep in mind that there are specific times for the boat to leave. There is much space for the orangutans (a whole island!!) and visitors can only walk 200m. The orangutans walk around freely so you may not see many of them. The workers there were SO nice and passionate about the animals, it amazed me. Definitely give the foundation a visit when you are in the neighborhood.

I heard it just reopened after the COVID therefore theres a lot of facilities that arent fully accessible (a bummer) but you'll see a lot of monkeys tho and also the orangutan are so cute they all have names ! Oh and you'll be going there by boat! Life jackets are supplied dw

The place is wonderful, but it is very small. Tickets per person are 40 for foreigners, and the weather was raining. There are no umbrellas or any protection from the rain. The resort was so quiet and not much people

The entire experience exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended. A pleasant boat ride across the pretty lake to the island sanctuary. Very nice well maintained facilities, info displays, and walkways. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and answered our many questions well. It’s a small area that only takes 45 minutes to tour. There is a lakeside restaurant on the mainland by the departure dock with terrace dining or a/c inside.

Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation is doing fantastic work rehabilitating and taking care of Orangutans until they are released back to Borneo jungles. The tour begins with a 15 min boat ride to the island followed by 30 mins guided tour.. Guide was very knowledgeable and compassionate towards Orangutans🙂

As we didn't have time to travel to Borneo, I was surprised to see that there was a sanctuary her in on the peninsula.
The guide we had was attentive, knowledgeable and cared deeply for the Orang Utan in their care.
I knew that they had an enclosed walkway to view the Orang Utan from but was amazed to see them so relatively close.
This place has no government funding and is reliant on tourism and gifting and from this perspective, it gives a great and accessible way to see these beautiful primates.
I recommend going and supporting this organization.

Decided to write a review for my visit here 2 months ago after going to the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary yesterday.
The experience at orangutan island was better as you can get up close to the orangutans and there's also a dominant male. The guides here are also more informative and show more dedication to their work. My family enjoyed ourselves here more than at Sepilok, it's a pity it's not as well known.
I WhatsApp them to book the tickets before driving to the Jetty. Check their Facebook page for the latest update on ferry times. I understand the place is temporarily closed due to low water levels at the lake so the ferry cannot be used.
Daniel Wong — Google review
Many seem to think you have to go to Borneo to see the orangutans, but the Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation is doing great work rehabilitating and caring for animals until they can be released back to the jungles in Borneo. After visiting, I'd highly recommend going out there. It is an easy 1-2 hour drive out of Georgetown (depending if you have a Touch 'N Go card to pay tolls), a rental car will cost you 135-160 RM for a day and tickets at the dock are 30-40 RM, just call to book your time on the boat. The ferry is part of the entry ticket and only takes 10 minutes. Their only funding to care for the animals comes from tickets, so go visit! No conservation effort is ever as perfect as the animals getting to exist in the wild, but this facility is helping to delay or hopefully prevent the extinction of these incredible creatures. It's worth the half day out from Georgetown.

Jeti Pulau Orang Utan Bukit Merah, Jalan Bukit Merah, 34400 Semanggol, Perak, Malaysia
The Taiping Zoo in Perak offers a nighttime safari where guests can observe various nocturnal animals illuminated by simulated moonlight. It is a well-maintained and well-run zoo with an easy-to-follow layout that provides an excellent experience for visitors. The lions are particularly impressive, and although the enclosures may look old, they are safe for both the animals and guests.
My all time favourite place to visit when I’m in Taiping. Well maintained, well run. The layout makes the flow very easy to follow. It’s a great experience. The lions are spectacular. The enclosures look old, but they still feel safe. We had the pleasure of witnessing the zookeepers feeding the animals. Wouldn’t trade that experience with anything else in the world

Overall I think is a good place to visit especially with the kid. Weekday not so many visitors and I think the best time to visit is around 8 to 9am because not so hot. Opposite of the Zoo is their car park, rm3 per entry.

The last I came to Taiping Zoo is 15 yrs ago(-+), it's still a best place for children and us. As a Malaysian, I have to bring child to visit Taiping Zoo to see the real animals bit not just on YouTube. The entrance fees reasonable. Inside zoo have food to sell too, so no worries about meals. Toilets can found in few places.

The most impressive zoo I have seen. The animals are well taken care of, there are many of them, the vegetation is wonderful, and everything is surrounded by the mountains. A beautiful setting, one of the best places in Malaysia.

It wasn't amazing experience to go at 9:30 a.m.. no crowd at all so we took the tram to go around the entire Zoo driver was very helpful in pointing out where the animals were hiding. Rm16 for entrance fee. Highly recommended.
Ranjit Singh — Google review
A bit disappointing because many of the cages were under maintenance, there were no animal present. Almost 30 to 40 percent empty.
The google maps show 8 am morning time but zoo opens at 8 30. Tram ride included in ticket . The tram drivers in the morning will take up late and hence you need to wait more to be able to take it.
The best way is to take a whole trip of tram first to see areas of interest and then take a walking tour.
Spend more time between 9 to 11 as it is their feeding time.
Moin Quazi — Google review
Great experience but too many under maintenance cages. The animals look healthy, the train service is good but the instructor can give a better service in explaining the trip.
The toilet is disgusting, dirty and broken. Please improve this. Thanks

Nice experience at this zoo. We started off on a train ride to get a sense of the layout and subsequently walked to see some animals up close. We went during the day where most animals would be sleeping. Would not mind going back again for the Night Safari option.
Not much food options, suggest to eat prior to going...

Me and my two teens had a great visit at the zoo. The animals had a lot of space and were in their natural environment. Our highlight was the Malayan tiger. It’s a short walk from town through the lovely Taiping lake. We were able to cover most of the grounds in over an hour. It’s worth a visit if you like wildlife.

The night’s calling! Go on a buggy-and-walking adventure with knowledgeable zoo guide who shares insider tales about the animals.
The tour did not feel rushed which was very much appreciated. Also saw loads of animals before their bedtime and it was nice strolling around the zoo when some of the animals were a bit more active than they are in the daytime.

A bit crowded even on weekdays (school holidays). The entrance fee was RM15 per person. We hopped on the tram. It was quite a queue but the trams service was handled efficiently so the wait was not that long. The animals looked comfortable and well fed. We had a good time there.

For the price paid, I think its a very good time to spend with family here. Only downside were some areas were closed. Also suggestion to have events throughout the day such as feeding spectacle or something more engaging with visitors.
Animals looked like were taken good care of. Overall, it was satisfying visit.

Taiping Zoo is a fantastic place to visit, especially for families with young kids who are looking to gain some knowledge about zoo animals. Established in 1961, it is the oldest zoo in Malaysia, and it is easy to see why it has stood the test of time.
I recently visited Taiping Zoo and was impressed with the overall experience. Even though it started to rain upon our arrival, we were prepared with umbrellas because we know Taiping is famous for being a rain town. Despite the rain, we spent around 3 hours exploring the zoo and had a great time.
One of the things that stood out to me about Taiping Zoo is how well the animals are taken care of. Most of them are old, but healthy, and it is evident that they are being well-cared for. It was a joy to see the animals in their natural habitats and moving around freely, especially the monkeys.
Another thing I loved about Taiping Zoo is the abundance of greenery, which is a result of the heavy rainfall in Taiping. It adds to the overall beauty and natural feel of the zoo, making it a great place to relax and unwind.
Overall, I highly recommend Taiping Zoo to anyone looking for a fun and educational day out with their family. With its rich history and great selection of animals, it is definitely worth a visit. I know I will be back soon to explore more of what the zoo has to offer!

Parking maybe limited during weekends or holidays.
Do bring umbrella (for occasional showers) and drinking water (expensive inside).
It has both lions and tigers inside; not bad at all for ticket at MYR16 per head.
Clean and tidy.

We went to Taiping Zoo on public holiday. Full of people, and we got to park quite a distance from the entrance. The kids still enjoyed the trip although the zoo seemed to be under maintenance, I guess, as some animals were not available in the cage. Great experience for the kids.
Nur Hazwani — Google review
Its great for a local council to have a zoo and plenty of families brought their children. My first time visiting. Pricing for locals is affordable.
Its nice to have the speed run of the zoo with the "train/tram" ride. Gives a short bearing as I was not provided a map.
Sadly many of the exhibits are quite run down or not bigger in size. Many of the grazers have bare enclosures, the water murky, the otter enclosure without fresh water. The chimp enclosure lacks shading. You can see most of the animals are hiding from the sun with whatever shade they had. Some enclosures had 1 poor animal in it.
Many others either empty and overgrown or "something exciting coming soon"
Floater plants overgrown in the water/ponds. Was supposed to look at fishes under the cover of floaters. What logic.
All in all, I'm surprised they still had a selection of animals to view, although skinny and not in great conditions. Put me in the dilemma of do we cage animals for eduction or do we let them live freely?
Justin Lim — Google review
Very good Zoo. Especially kids enjoy their lot. You can visit Zoo by food or by tram, tram is free included in tickets. By foot you can explore more. Adult( above 12 year) tickets are RM 16, kids and senior citizen tickets are RM 8.

Overall OK. Animal looks good. During my visit two weeks ago there's lot of animal cage in maintenance. Minimum 2 hours if you walk around to see everything.

We arrived at 8:30 and no one was in the garden except us, the lights were off and most of the animals were asleep. We waited for more people to arrive then after 10 munites took the tram tour. The driver seemed in a bit of a hurry so the duration of the trip was about 45 minutes. Still worth the price of b the ticket and definitely work a visit if you have never been to the zoo at night time before!
Sam Adam — Google review
For the price of the ticket at RM 20/adult ( for the night zoo), it was a worthwhile trip. The weather was cool and comfortable for a night stroll. The animals like the lions, tigers, hyenas and panthers were awake and walking about. The buggy ride was included in the ticket price and the driver we got was informative and very entertaining! We even got up close with the white swans and the grey crowned crane. Overall a great trip! The only downside was the maintenance of the toilets within the zoo.. do use the toilet at the entrance. Bought the tickets online, easy and convenient.
Gina Tan — Google review
Very nice zoo. Kids love the tram and close distance with wild animals. During my visit, the toilet is under renovation, so suggest to go toilet at the entrance before start your journey.

Quite a good experience since it had been a long since I last visited the Taiping zoo. Adult ticket price if RM 16/pax and RM8/pax for senior citizens. Recommended to bring the kids during their school holidays as it would be a good experience for them to have a real and closer look at animals. Saw many little ones who were fascinated with those animals.
The overall maintenance was quite good but was kinda disappointed that there were many animals missing. The main animals such as elephants, tiger, deer, zebras, zirafah, lions, crocodiles and etc. were there.
We took buggy as there were senior citizen with us. The buggy driver was friendly and able to pronounce the animal names in Tamil as well. That was easier for older people to recognise it. The journey in the buggy was less than 1 hour. Walking probably would take 2 hours.
The overall experience was good for the money.
Sharon Amladass — Google review
This zoo is well maintained enough to put the KL's Zoo Negara to complete shame.
Initially went for the Night Safari, which was alright, although I could hardly see much of anything. The zoo guide would shine their high powered beam torches at the animals to point them out to visitors, not something I agree with, but then again, you won't spot them otherwise. But the Night Safari wasn't enough, so I went again the next day early in the morning.
Much better in the morning as it is quieter (not so hot too) and one can really appreciate the entire landscape of the zoo and animals.
If you have the patience for it, there's an EV bus that does its rounds every 2 hours (or so I'm told) that starts from the Taiping Zoo and then round all the Heritage Trail areas around Taiping town. Grab Car to most places costs about RM 5 per way (more or less).

The Taiping Lake Gardens is a picturesque park that was established in the 19th century. It boasts of beautiful lakes, gardens and walking paths. This tranquil place was once a desolate tin mine, but thanks to the visionary City planner Robert Walker, it has been transformed into a magnificent sight that features calm green pastures and distant towering mountain ranges.

Really beautiful lake! It took about 1hr to slow walk the whole round. Would recommend coming here earlier in the morning at around 7ish/8ish to avoid the crowds especially during public holidays. There’s a lot of birds and plants to spot, and it’s also very cooling!
You can rent bicycles from 10am onwards if you’d like. Can’t remember the price but it shouldn’t be too expensive!
Enjoy! :)

My last visit to Taiping was like 42 years ago but I still remember the most famous spot which is the Lake Garden. A MUST visit place, when in Taiping. Spectacular view from every angle and such a peaceful place to be. Unfortunately the sky was cloudy and started to drizzle as soon as I started capturing the beautiful scenes. Although it started to drizzle, it didn't stop those people from their jog, walk, cycling or playing the water bike ducks.
The first thing I saw was a huge eel like thing swimming in d water...probably a lizard. Love the arches of the old trees...the tip of the branches touching the water. Even the old tree stump looks beautiful with nicely paved tiles around it, creating a unique art piece. There was also a huge piece of fallen tree branches placed on the tarred road with a steel support...acting like a station for bicycles. There were some tandem bicycles too. Kudos to the Taiping Municipal Council for maintaining the park and preserving the old trees.

Century old trees, couple of them resembling giant animals resting on the soft greens. The giant lotus flower pond was an amazing view.
Very CLEAN park. Loved It!!
.
Go early, like 6.30 am onwards, lovely fresh air. There are tons of parakeets on the century old trees. At 7.30 am, there are many people in workout or dance clusters.
.
Small but sufficient to circumnavigate twice for a longer walk.
.
Some inner pathways may be 2-person-side by side, in width.
