Such an amazing campsite. Quiet, safe and lovely showers with actual hot water. Plus a fantastic bar and the nicest, friendliest owner we met in our travels. She really cares about her patrons and it shows. Highly recommended to anybody coming through Arusha.

We loved our visit! Our guide (every visitor gets one) was so knowledgeable and had a real talent for talking about the snakes. The set up of the museum/park is great. We got to hold a little snake and see a chameleon up close. It was $20 usd per person, CASH ONLY.

A must see destination!! We loved this park the guide was excellent and gave us an above average experience! Loved this place and will be going back to the next time for sure!
The tour guide fed a live chick to the black mamba and we got to see nature happen! Same thing with feeding the vulture! Wow up close and personal. I never knew vultures were so mean and aggressive! Yikes!

If you're afraid of snakes, don't worry! They are all safely behind glass and very safe to look. It even includes one of the deadliest, the Black Mamba. Well worth going to. BTW, just in case, they also have anti-venom!

And we finished with buying maasai traditional things .

(Translated by Google) My husband and I booked this wonderful safari through Martina Volk, in addition to our beach vacation on Zanzibar that we booked through a travel agency.
The organization was simply amazing; we were picked up from the hotel by a shuttle and taken to the airport. And from there our personal adventure began. When we arrived in Arusha, our guide John welcomed us and the journey began.
We were in Lake Manyara on the first day, Ngorogoro on the second day and Tarangire National Park on the third day. What can I say, it was simply breathtaking, we simply loved this country. When we look back now, tears well up in our eyes. We've seen all the Big Five and more. You have to see this wonderful nature. The lives of the people and especially the warmth cannot be described. Everyone is a big family, especially in the Haradali Lodge. John our guide made everything possible for us. There were really great packed lunches every day to take on the go and sometimes we just ate in the park with the elephants or waited for the rhino to finally show up. I would always book my next trip here again and we will... and then we'll go to the Serengeti! Once again a huge thank you, I can't express how grateful I am to Martina Volk and Nature Responsible.

Fransesca provided excellent advice for organizing the safari and was able to choose the accommodation very well according to our expectations. Before and during our safari, she was always available by message and email and always responded very quickly to our questions.
Our guide, Steve, spoke French fluently and was very knowledgeable about the parks.
Fransesca was able to adapt three weeks before the planned departure to a one-day delay for the departure of Safari, all without any extra charge.
We wholeheartedly recommend this agency for organizing a safari in Tanzania.

We enjoy shopping and eating at Aim Mall. The mall is clean and quiet. The bathroom facilities are probably the nicest in Arusha. There's a safe play area for kids.

Love the convenience of this Mall in this part of Arusha, by the Airport. Little more always has great bits and pieces. Twiga brewery is a must try and most food stalls are very tasty 😋

Note: Pass Little More they have amazing perfumes at reasonable price.

The Cultural Heritage Centre is a remarkable establishment that combines an African art gallery, a jewelry shop featuring precious stones, and a global restaurant. The beautiful building houses thousands of exquisite African artworks that are well-organized and accessible via wheelchair to all levels. In addition to the impressive exhibits, there are also two restaurants serving delicious cuisine. This center offers visitors souvenirs, art, culture and history in one location and requires ample time to fully appreciate all it has to offer.
Such a beautiful place with stunning artwork. It took me about 45 minutes just to skim through most of the art but I loved every bit of it. Inside, it spirals up each level and offers thousands of pieces of beautiful African artwork. The building is also lovely and there are a couple of nice coffee shops in there!
Jana Salame — Google review
This museum is the largest in Africa with a wide array of paintings and artwork from local and other African Countries. I was absolutely blow away by the collection and history behind each piece. Entrance is free and there are plenty of shops and restaurantson the grounds! A definite must while in Arusha.
Effay K — Google review
Enter through the gift shop...literally...but the real treasure here is in the Cultural Center behind. The basement is so jammed with Zanzibar chests, doorways and canvases it is hard to navigate. Pieces on the upper floors are easier to appreciate with a more space around them. Masks and sculpture are the highlights here. The cafe is good for a calm bite away from the frenetic front street.

Such a beautiful and breathtaking place filled with all kinds of feels from across Africa. If you're a lover of art, do give this place a visit and you won't regret it. Absolutely stunning 😍
Patience Mumba — Google review
Souvenirs, art, culture and history in one place. Well organized art gallery and the good thing is it has a wheelchair access to all its floors.
The gallery has 2 restaurants and food is available. You need some ample time to enjoy the gallery.
Patrick Hozza — Google review
This gallery will overwhelm your sight sense because of its massive-ness in size. Colours come alive as you walk around, through the beautiful paintings, unique carvings & architectural design.
Shishi — Google review
This spot has some impressive architecture and an amazing collection of African Art, not just from Tanzania. However, it's important to remember that it's not a museum; many of the art pieces are up for sale. There's a wealth of information available about the history and the artists behind the pieces. But be prepared, the prices are steep, although the quality is undoubtedly high.
A heads-up about the sales approach here: it can feel a bit pushy. For instance, we had a salesperson stick right by our side the whole time, which was pretty uncomfortable. When we moved to a different section and encountered another salesman, the first one got upset, even shouted something in Swahili to the other guy, and then continued to follow us. It felt like we were assigned to him for our entire visit.
On a positive note, the paintings in the art gallery are truly epic, albeit way out of our budget. We ended up browsing through all the artifacts and then headed to the Masai market to find more budget-friendly items.
Hareesh Gottipati — Google review
Excellent exhibits and amazing artwork reflecting the African heritage! Very friendly staff and helpful information provided around each artwork displayed in the museum! Loved the musicians present at the entrance of the museum!
G J — Google review
No bargaining (which I prefer), large assortment of products sold. Anything you want to buy as souvenir they should have. Prices are ok, but somethings maybe cheaper elsewhere in smaller shops. Gorgeous art gallery and sculptures too..
Clement Neo — Google review
Impressive offer of what I would deem good to excellent quality souvenirs and art. The whole 'cultural'/arts center is worth a visit. However, I am not a good reference when it comes to the purchase of 'souvenirs' as I stopped years ago buying them.
Mario Eichenberger — Google review
We had the most amazing experience at the Cultural Heritage Center in Nairobi Kenya. We saw a culture show where they had several Kenyan tribes perform dance, singing, and music program. We were able to eat authentic vegetarian Kenyan food at their restaurant. Seeing all the various types of villages of their tribes was also a unique experience. In addition, we were able to purchase some traditional Kenyan ornaments, jewelry, and clothing from the tribal people's stalls over there.
Bina Soni — Google review
Wow, just amazing. So many art pieces!!! A must visit. You can also buy a lot of art here. It is not cheap btw. Also ther is great restaurant Next to entrance of center.

Located in the heart of Arusha, Tanzania.
Cultural Heritage Center is a 4 storey gallery where you learn the history of different tribes in Tanzania. The art showcases their way of life, their community, beliefs and history.
It's also an art gallery where you can purchase your souvenir and art.
It's free to tour the gallery, no queue and spacious for large groups.

Amazingly well built souvenir shop and art gallery. The architecture design rivals some of the best museums I've been to anywhere in the world. A multi-story art gallery building with half levels throughout and a central stairwell and open atrium. Definitely a must visit if you love to see fine African art.
Victor Wang — Google review
Incredible place! There are 2 restaurants, 4 floors of shopping in the mail building, 3 or so other huts for shopping, a huge 4 floor art gallery and bathrooms. There are sculptures outside, the grounds are well kept, the bathroom clean and the food choices amazing! I didn’t take many pictures as I wasn’t sure I was allowed to in the gallery. The employees are attentive, but not pushing or following around. They left me alone to do my shopping which was a definite change from the Maasai market! This is the place to buy your tanzanite!
Tiffany N — Google review
A lot of variations of African Arts.
Some are just imitations.
But some artworks are very creative and genuine.

I came to visit the free museum and ended up falling in love with a brown tanzanite I later put on a ring! The store has some beautiful pieces of jewellery and stones. The staff is very kind and patient, and doesn't push you to buy anything but is very helpful if you have an idea in mind and would like to find something suiting you

I had a wonderful experience with The Tanzanite Experience. As a lover of fine-jewellery, I knew I wanted to invest in a special piece during my trip and did a fair amount of research before visiting. I stopped by the museum in Arusha which was also great, before taking a look at their loose stone collection. I found a stone I fell in love with, and after chatting with my wonderful sales associate Joy, I decided to go ahead with having a bespoke necklace made. I was able to meet with the jeweler who would craft my piece, and also access the stone for myself and was super impressed with the quality.
Despite it being over Easter the team were super accommodating, ensuring they understood the exact details of the of the piece I wanted, and being able to meet me at Kilimanjaro Airport with the finished piece. Joy kept me updated via Whatsapp through out the process, sharing pictures of my piece as soon as it was completed which I loved.
Since receiving my necklace I have worn it everyday - I am so happy with the quality of the piece. I was super specific about little details I wanted and they executed each of these perfectly.
If you're looking to invest in Tanzanite or Tsavorite jewellery I couldn't recommend them more!

Eunice was a perfect guide! My husband and I had a great time, first watching the video and then listening to her explanations and the tour she gave us of the site. She made our experience very enjoyable, and in the end I bought my Tanzanite, best souvenir of Tanzania!

Guide at the museum was very competent and explained everything in details. Cool aspect of the place is that they have replicated the mine shaft inside the museum/shop. The place also offers complementary drinks
Rolands Abolins — Google review
This small tanzanite museum offered an interesting video and a small replica of a mine. There is of course tanzanite for sale. The selection is a bit small but there are a lot of loose stones if you want to have a piece of jewelry made just for you. They also have unpolished stone pieces made by the Masai women for a reasonable price.
Happy Ox — Google review
Very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and patient staff - my wife and I spent a lot of time here shopping for amazing Tanzanite - beautiful stones that come from this beautiful country of Tanzania. The store offers a very informative video and in person presentation on how the stones are mined, cut and polished. Fun experience too. Jackline who helped us with our purchases was amazing. Very inspirational person with great taste! Thank you Jackline for helping us with our choices.
Definitely recommend visiting whether you want to buy or just get information on Tanzanite.

Very nice experience and great to see the Tanzanites. Fredy was taking us around and did an excellent job. Can highly recommend!
Nicola Stadelmann — Google review
It is really worth the stop if you want to learn about Tanzanite! The jewelry they have is beautiful and I LOVE the Masai woman's collection - it’s less expensive and sooo beautiful with the raw form of tanzanite. Joyce was an amazing guide and great at explaining everything! She was clear and kept the tour interesting without it feeling too long. I also appreciated how no one was pushy and there wasn’t pressure to purchase anything. I definitely recommend if you are in Arusha!
I added a photo of the Masai collection because you really can’t find anything like it at other tourist stores. Everything is duty free so that’s another plus!

This was my first time in Tanzania, me and my daughter went together to a 6-days-Safari. We are very happy that we chose IlMaasai. First, we felt very safe and very well cared of , my foot was injured and they took lovely care about that too. Our driver and guide Loth was very attentive and friendly, he knows all about animals, nature and the people of Tanzania. Furthermore, the organization was perfect, the planning, timing and communication with Catherine was great. The food was amazing, we even got fries in the middle of the Serengeti! Pius is an extraordinary cook. Even the intern, Collin took great care and it was lovely to have him on the trip aswell.
We can only recommend to take IlMaasai as an operator, they are local, very friendly and experienced. Price to performance was incredible!
Asante sana!

Our guide Bryson had a lot of experience and is a really professional guide and give us good advises and information during all the safari and also later. Osman was the cook who was taking care about the special diet od our daughter. The staff in Arusha, Catherine and his father Loth were always willing to help us. Really good experience with them. Great museum. Extremely interesting. Absolutely loved it.

The Building is definitely historical and has different sections but the maintaince of the building and exhibitions could do with some more investment/upkeep.
The photography exhibition on the tribes and the wildlife is extensive. Its a good introduction of the different tribes in Tanzania. The natural history museum section is cool to see but its a bit cramped together.
Overall its a good place to go to get some overview. I did however feel that the area dealing with colonial history seemed to represent a one sided sentiment the positivity of colonialism.

A very interesting taste of history. Beautiful gardens and art studios outside and a great museum with plenty of photography and taxidermy inside. The famous nightclub Viavia is just outside too. The area is certainly worth a visit, as it is right in the center of town
Nice waterfall and easy to reach. Keep in mind that all other pictures here mostly show other waterfalls! Keep going the small path once you reach the border to the Forrest and it’s approx 15min more to reach it. You will find a small security post which asked for 20kTZS (p.P) to pass but we just moved on missing and sign it price list there to have a reference.
Go down to stairs and it’s not to miss. Nice walk in between the daily life beside the road to there and no guide is needed for this.

The Really And Amazing waterfalls in Arusha town
Festo Tarimo — Google review
When in Arusha, with spare time on hand, go there. You will have to pay and you will have to put up with a bunch of "guides" insisting to show you the waterfall. Even declining the "offer" they will tag along.
It's not a spectacular waterfall, but nice, lends itself to taking nice pictures.
You can take a dip in the freezing water should you wish.

Amazing place to hike! It’s a tougher hike than we thought and we realised we should’ve left in the morning instead of the beginning of the afternoon! Also, make sure you have money on you, to pass through the village! A bit dangerous at some point but once you’re there it’s magical!

Located in Arusha National Park, Mt Meru is Africa's fourth-highest mountain and a dormant stratovolcano. The park offers diverse habitats, from savannah to rainforest, making it an excellent destination for safari experiences. With its incredible wildlife diversity and over 400 bird species, the park is a paradise for nature enthusiasts. While often overshadowed by its neighbor Mt Kilimanjaro, climbing Mt Meru offers an extraordinary adventure with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
A great warm-up before the Kilimanjaro! We did the three-night and four-day hike. The park ranger was awesome and took us through a walk-in Safri :)

I absolutely loved this hike. I have explored quite a number of mountains in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC; but haven't experienced such a spectacular thrill like I did at Tanzania's Mount Meru.
The dining area, sleeping and toilet facilities are quite impressive. Tanzania has done well. Hongera, TANAPA!

Very tough to hike, when we were on the way we enjoyed the animals, the summit day was real tough and the PEAK of its doesn't support a lot of people to gather there for the group photos, rather by shifts

Mt Meru is the lesser known great climbing adventure, often greatly over shadowed by its close by neighbor, Mt Kilimanjaro. However, this extraordinary adventure should not be missed, time permitting. Whether summiting or stopping short before the peek, the views are simply breathtaking. Especially, seeing Mt Kili at dusk, a sight which is ethereal. However, it is important to have an very experienced and trusted guide. While ascending, there are wild buffalo which are very dangerous as well as the climb to the summit, usually starting around midnight, is not for the inexperienced or faint of heart.

I'll never travel to Amboseli National Park without this trip planner again
Arusha National Park is a vast expanse of grassland, lakes and volcanoes located near Arusha town in Tanzania. It is home to the second-highest peak in the country and a diverse array of wildlife, including giraffes, buffalos, zebras, black-and-white colobus monkeys, leopards and flamingos.
Beautiful little park for a unique safari! Best giraffe encounter! One of the best safaris for monkeys and birds. No predators here :) Go with Albert from Winnie’s Adventure! He is the best!

A very beautiful national park different to other TZ national parks in a good way.
We did a walking safari. Simply took a dala dala to the road to the first gate, jumped on motorcycles and then at the gate arranged a car to drive us to the second gate (where you do the walking safari from). At the second gate they allocated a ranger for us which took us out for 4 hours in the national park. We saw giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, many different monkeys and loads of cool birds.
It is expensive, but cheaper than having hired a tour company to arrange it for you.

The rainforest around the crater is amazing, but don't expect a lot of animals there, mostly they are very far away. After that park i went to Tarangire and i was overwhelmed from the amount of animals, the large size of the park. Viewing back in my opinion Arusha national park isn't worth the entry compared to what you can see in Tarangire. We went to both parks with a private vehicle.

Arusha National Park is a relatively small National Park that covers Mount Meru. It is close to the town of Arusha. The views are very beautiful. We saw hundreds or possibly thousands of Flamingos and many giraffes and zebras. Did not see elephants. Enjoyed the game drive and the scenery.

Arusha National Park is located in Tanzania and encompasses diverse landscapes, including Mount Meru, Momela Lakes, and Ngurdoto Crater. It's known for its rich biodiversity, featuring a variety of flora and fauna. Visitors can enjoy activities like hiking, wildlife viewing, and bird watching. The park provides a scenic introduction to Tanzania's natural beauty and is often overlooked in favor of larger parks like Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

Wasn't lucky enough to see elephants, we were told they're deeper in the forrest. We did see zebras, baboons, giraffes and a bunch of flamingos.
Weather was kind of chilly early in the morning, but sun came up around noon.
Even though there were a lot of safari cars at the entrance, once you start driving, they get spread out around the park.
The guides keep in touch with each other so they can share best sighting sites.

Nice National Park to spend a day. Not far from Arusha town. It’s been said is a nice place to see elephants but I was not lucky at all when I went…not even one. You can find the black-and-white colobus monkey. Also a lot of giraffe, zebras and buffaloes. You can find also leopards and flamingos among others

The best thing I did in Tanzania. By all means it’s the highlight of my whole trip. An experience like no other from the welcoming ceremony, the tour, the lunch, the huts, the museum, the knowledge, the culture, the elderly hut... etc. Nothing could top that.
However, take note:
1)) advanced booking is a must
2)) it takes minimum an hour off road drive plus wherever you are to get there.
3)) they offer full board accommodation, for night stays.

Mt Kilimanjaro, a renowned mountain with three volcanic cones, is a popular climbing destination that offers seven trekking routes. Visitors can fly directly into Kilimanjaro and be greeted by a private guide who can take them to Tarangire National Park - part of the country's famous Northern Circuit. Despite being less crowded than other neighboring parks, Tarangire provides excellent game-viewing opportunities and an exclusive atmosphere.
Climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in January 2022 on the 8 day Lemosho route with Ultimate Kilimanjaro. The route was very scenic, passing through a range of different landscapes. Summit day in particular was more difficult than the other days - we started hiking around midnight and the conditions were very cold and windy (~100kmph winds). However our group of 8 had four guides (August - the lead guide, Ewald, Godfrid and Thadey) and we felt very safe in their capable hands. On summit day, our team of guides went above and beyond to help us reach the summit - they helped with everything from pulling water bottles and snacks out of our backpacks, tying laces, adjusting headlamps to singing mountain songs and chanting words of encouragement to keep our spirits up. There were two hikers in the group that felt unwell from day 2, but the guides went above and beyond to help them (carrying their day packs, monitoring and conducting extra health checks, delivering food to their tents etc). It was comforting to know that had we been unwell, we would have also been well looked after.
I highly recommend doing the Kilimanjaro hike and recommend the team of guides at Ultimate Kilimanjaro (and in particular the lead guide, August).

A once in a lifetime experience to climb the Kili. Was really worth it with a great group of guides. Loved everyday of it.
As other people mention that give a bad review. I will tell some things about the Kilimanjaro.
- NO, there is no WiFi…
- YES, it is rocky and steep at some places.
- YES, it can get really cold on the summit.
- YES, there are toilets and NO they aren’t the cleanest. But what can one expect on a huge mountain at that altitudes.
- YES, it can rain or snow and get windy.
And finally, YES it is beautiful to climb the Kilimanjaro!

Daigo Watanabe — Google review
Nice 8 day Lemosho hike to summit but a few sections felt precarious especially around barranco wall because of the rock scrambling through the cliff. Most days are long drudgery with gradual elevation, including a few nice views at cathedral rock and other sections. Trail conditions were generally good, but had some muddy slippery sections.
With the help of guides and porters and having great fitness, this hike can be quite easy and comfortable. Be sure to bring hiking poles because of loose rocks and soil in certain sections. Bring medication like altitude sickness, and some Acetaminophen or ibuprofen in case of migraines and headaches. The hike itself can be easy until summit day.
I would also recommend bringing dry shampoo because no showers are available. Bring different layers of clothing. It can get hot and can be extremely cold at night.
Most importantly, don’t try to hike this mountain until gaining some experience in high altitude trekking. Saw a few people struggling getting rescued and vomit spots on the side of the trails. Some people gave up.
I have hiked half dome, salkantay, mount whitney california, grand canyon rim to rim, kalalau trail, pct, appalachian trail, the sierra nevadas, trails in new zealand and japan without porters and guides and in a shorter amount of time. The experience from these hikes had prepared me for kilimanjaro, and so hiking kili was more comfortable other than not bringing the right outer shell gloves.

Kilimanjaro is a must for any hiker/nature lover. What an amazing experience, lifelong experience for sure! But this is NOT a tourist activity! And if you have not experienced any high altitude mountains before can be a big change.
Anyway, climbing mount Kilimanjaro is like entering 5 different worlds!! First rainforest, low vegetation, rocky terrain (like being on Mars), artic desert, snow and then glacier!!! What an experience! I was so impressed and delighted I was there. Good thing is that you always go with local hiking companies so everything is organized. You have water, food, porters and ppl who climb Kili many times so guides are quite experienced. IF YOU HAVE WILL TO CLIMB KILI YOU SHOULD DO IT!!

Such an amazing, once in a lifetime experience. We visited last fall and took the 6 day route with Altezza and couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was a fairly mild to moderate hike up until the summit night, that was definitely the hardest. Some of our group got altitude sickness, but were taken good care of and we all made it to the top and back. Would definitely recommend!!

I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, being the tallest mountain in Africa located in Tanzania, with its highest peak at 5,895Meters (19,340 feet). I am at Uhuru Peak (highest peak) and very proud of myself for having achieved this milestone.
The climb was gentle the first few days and once we got to Kibo Hut at 4,720M above sea level, I felt a bit queasy, the air was thinner, breathing was a bit more difficult but manageable. I experienced some altitude sickness, though we had also taken some time to adjust to the elevation. I never imagined sleeping at such an altitude either!
We were a great team, with experienced guides, cook, porters and fellow hikers.
Our vitals were taken at each elevation, which is good to monitor how your body is doing as you assess yourself on a scale of 1-10 on how you feel.
On descending and looking back, I feel like it was just a dream... Wow, did I do that!.. And now I have just woken up and preparing for my next hike..
I received a certificate too!
Well, this achievement and experience also demonstrates my own goals that I can attain outside the corporate world. Take some time off, prepare and do it!

I'll never travel to Amboseli National Park without this trip planner again
Amboseli National Park is a natural sanctuary in Kenya that boasts an abundance of wildlife, including free-roaming elephants and over 400 species of birds. It is considered one of the top national parks in the country due to its stunning views of Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, which can be seen against herds of big-tusked elephants. Although cloud cover may obscure the mountain at times during the day, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking vistas during dawn and dusk.
A place like no other. Absolutely stunning scenery, especially with the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. An extremely wide range of animals ranging from tortoises to hippos. Saw 3 of the big 5 here (Cheetah, Lion, Elephant). There are big herds here, we saw 100’s of elephants in a herd and saw cheetahs twice with one even hunting. The plains make it much easier to see the wildlife compared to Tsavo West where we also went on our travels. Highly recommend to go to if you are looking at which National park to go to. It’s a smaller park to the rest but there’s lots to see within it!

This is definitely something to do once in your life at least. It's really down to luck and a good guide to be able to see all the kind of animals the park hosts but you'll at least see lots of giraffes elephants and a variety of birds. Also buffaloes wildebeests impalas gazelles pelicans lions but they were a bit far baboons flamingoes and hippos. make sure to pack lunch so you can have it up on observation hill a cute romantic place hosting some really nice birds that will come quite close to you. The views are amazing and the overall experience is really unique. Things to know: bring passport and visa and if you're a non resident a card to pay with cause you won't be able to pay in kes or with ecetizen or mpesa apparently only residents or nationals are allowed these payment methods here. Strange cause my gf paid for me for tickets in other places with her ecetizen account or mpesa without any problems. Just be warned.

A small national park as compared to Masaimara. A desert like environment in backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. But they have enough wildlife to satisfy your eyes. We came to know this national park is famous for Herd of Elephants and also for giraffes. We found that was very true, the elephants was everywhere. Located many herds of lions. Also there was enough cheetahs lions wild beasts and many more. The sky was cloudy so we didn't get good picture of Mount Kilimanjaro. But the other things was good.

If you are an elephant lover, Amboseli NP is the park for you-here you will see many herds of elephants, many more than you will ever spot in Masai Mara and you will have the opportunity to observe them quite close. I visited during the long rainy season, following a severe 2-year drought, so many of the savannahs were flooded, providing a unique opportunity to see hippos outside of the lake; walking, grazing and interacting. The birding was spectacular and because it is off season, it was extremely rare to have any other vehicles nearby, competing for viewing. There were times when we watched entire herds frolic for what seemed like hours.

Amboseli National Park is in southern Kenya. It’s known for its large elephant herds and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania. Observation Hill offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. Varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. The western section is dominated by vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside the rainy season.

Love this National Park- visited 6 months ago and decided to come back in different season. Even though the drought has continued to impact area, we still saw plenty of wildlife again... elephants, giraffe, cape buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, warthogs, ostriches, lions, couple cheetah, hippos, monkeys, and amazing variety of birds.
The only negative part of the experience would be at the entrance/exit gate if you are traveling in a car- not flying in. If you're in an automobile and have any windows open, many people will come up to vehicle trying to sell you items and they are relentless.

This place is truly exceptional and offers stunning scenery, especially with the magnificent Kilimanjaro in the backdrop. The diversity of animals is astounding, ranging from the massive hippopotamuses to the elusive cheetahs. During my visit, I was lucky enough to witness three of the big five animals, including lions, cheetahs, and elephants. The vast plains make it easier to spot wildlife, and I highly recommend this National Park to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.
As one of the most renowned parks in Kenya, it provides a unique opportunity to witness animals in their natural habitats. The infrastructure is excellent, and while it's possible to explore the park on your own, it's best to get a guide. The guides are knowledgeable and provide invaluable insights, making the experience even more remarkable.
There are also several comfortable lodges in the park that offer a cozy stay amidst the beautiful wildlife. The views are breathtaking, and I even witnessed a majestic lion lounging in the afternoon sun.
Overall, I had an unforgettable experience at this stunning game park and will undoubtedly be back soon. If you're looking for an incredible adventure in the heart of Kenya, this National Park should be at the top of your list.

One of Kenya’s premier national parks for megafauna. Go with a safari guide and try to stay inside the park if at all possible (an early game drive means more opportunity to see early riding animals such as lions). The environment is mostly open grassland so visibility is exceptional, and you can spot animals easily. I was able to get fairly up close to families of elephants grazing by the road, zebras, impala, wildebeest, and others

Perfect place to spot herds of gorgeous tuskers. Probably the only place where one can spot so many elephant herds. Fantastic views of Mount Kilimanjaro 😍 I only wish the tour guides were not so money minded, i get a feeling it's all way too monetized than keeping the best interests of animals at heart. We didn't spot any lions sadly but giraffes and flamingos added to the beauty. Gorgeous place!

It was our first time visiting the safari with my family about a month ago. Amboseli National Park gave us an incredible experience. The sight of a hundred elephants against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro was truly priceless. We were able to explore five different habitats including savannah, woodland, swamps, rockland, and marshland. During our visit, we had the opportunity to spot cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, wildebeests, hippos, and various types of birds. However, we were a bit disappointed as we didn't get to see any lions or leopards. Nevertheless, this park is truly unique with its stunning view of Kilimanjaro and abundant wildlife.

👎🏻 The rangers are missing from the National Park and not doing anything to protect the animals. There was a herd of elephants crossing the main road and 30 or so tour vehicles parked on the road. It was so congested the elephants were all not able to cross the road and had to find another way. There are too many tour operators unfortunately and not everyone cares for animals.
We just came from Masai Mara and it is very different there. The tour guides are mindful to keep their distance from any animal and they follow a max of 5 cars per animal so the animals are never crowded and allowed to be comfortable in their own environment.
👍🏻 We saw herds of elephants from a distance and up close. The park is home to the elephants for sure so hopefully visitors and the local government will protect them.
⭐️⭐️ tip: always keep arms and legs covered up. Because of the swamps nearby, there are all sorts of insects that will bite you. Use insect repellant and cover up as much as possible.
