Sardinia Bay Beach, located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, boasts some of the world's finest beaches and an 800 km stretch of unspoilt coastline. The ocean is a beautiful blue, and there are stunning views to enjoy. This beach is renowned for its cleanliness with helpful staff keeping it pristine by continuously picking up litter. Additionally, it has excellent swimming conditions with a friendly lifeguard on duty (though not always present).
Call this my happy place. Locals will meet here at sunset and just enjoy the beauty with a coffee/wine picknick. Once some african drummers played some lovely music while the sun set(they also locals that just went to the beach). Got thrm there again a second time. Our little hidden gem...❤️

Once over the ever increasing dunes, it's lovely! Best beach for the hound dogs in PE! Please ensure you pick up your dog waste though - don't ruin the experience for everyone else. Did you know?! There is a Sardinia Bay Plakkie now?
Aidon Lippstreu — Google review
A beach that has relatively comfortable sand. The highlight of the beach are the sand dunes which are decently beautiful and the higher you go on the dunes the more untouched they are. No water sport activities here.
Allen Lin — Google review
Amazing big beach, clean water, places with no people and many little secret private spots by the rocks
Dawe Wascha — Google review
Went horse raiding on the Sardinia Bay Beach.
Beautiful dunes, clean beaches, and very private. Loved every moment of it.
Mpai Thekiso — Google review
Arguably the best beach I've visited. Clean, tidy, with 2 lifeguard towers. Just before high tide is the perfect time since waves come in from the left and right making the walk to the Rocky island a pleasure.
There's a massive dune that you have to walk over, but it's worth the effort. No shops or stalls there, so carry all that you need.
Thasigan Pillay — Google review
Really amazing beach, huge sand dunes. Kids really enjoyed themselves. Place spoiled by dog owners that don't clean up after themselves. Takes the excitement of getting to sea away
Allistair Forley — Google review
Beautiful clean beach, we got an extra exercise from going up the dunes though.
Kitah Thantsie — Google review
Omg. One of the most breathtaking beaches in SA. Prepare to walk over massive sand dunes. But the reward is worth it!!
Anthony Mancebo — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches to view sunsets and sunrises from in PE. Lovely picnic spot on the massive sand dune over weekends.
Liezel Pentz — Google review
Wow, simply wow! This is by far my favourite beach as of today. Beautifully clean (4 lovely people were constantly picking up trash), spectacular views, excellent swimming, a lifeguard which is super helpful and friendly (not there the second time we went), dunes (my poor legs) and dog friendly as well. The only negatives I can think of is that the ice-cream by the parking is ridiculously overpriced and that there aren't toilets facilities available. Those two things on their own are not enough to reduce the score though. My kids loved it and we'll be back for sure.
Beylie — Google review
A beautiful beach away from the hustle and bustle in town. The beach itself is spotless without the broken bottles often found at other beaches. Just be prepared to climb up a steep sand dune to get to the water, the walkway is no longer accessible. The perfect place to come in the evening to relax.

Kragga Kamma Game Park is a nature reserve that boasts numerous rare animal species and offers guided tours, as well as popular cheetah encounters. The park's staff are commended for their resilience in operating with limited resources whilst providing exceptional care to the animals, even on extremely hot days. Visitors can enjoy uninterrupted views of wildlife and the park's competent maintenance ensures a seamless experience.
Awesome experience. Please take a guided safari tour, they are so caring and informative. You won’t regret it. Staying overnight will bring you an immense experience spotting animals right behind your door:)

A very nice park especially for those who do not have too much time and want to see a variety of animals.
We spend ~2h in the park and saw zebras, giraffes, rhinos, cheetah, etc.
If you have more time at hand we recommend one of the national park since it feels more natural. For example one can see houses and electric lines in the back of the photos, so it feels a bit more like a zoo.
Laura-Marie Niemann — Google review
I haven't seen wild animals, apart from in a zoo, for a few years, so really loved the opportunity at Kragga Kamma Game Park. We didn't see every animal they have, but it was still incredible. They have giraffes, rhinos, various antelope, wildebeest, zebras, warthogs, lions etc. There is a restaurant about halfway through the park, but we didn't eat there, only bought takeaway bar one hot chocolate, which was the perfect temperature to drink immediately.
Nadia Jansen van Rensburg — Google review
I have not seen my sick and elderly parents smile and wow as much as they did on Friday. It was THE highlight of our P.E. trip! Thank you to all the staff who operate the facility with such little reserves, it got to over 40°c that day and they nonetheless went out of their way with a smile! Those animals are well attended to and the Game Park is competently kept! We likely halted every 5 minutes to take photo's, we saw SO much from beginning to end !!! Thank you Rangers and gals who came all the way to get the automatic gate to function again!!!

Good experience. Cheetah, lion, rhino, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, monkey and deers can be seen. General entry fee of R120 per head and an extra R230 if you want a guided safari. Riding your own car is allowed. Reach by 10:30 to see feeding a Cheetah. Good food and drinks. Have fun!
vijay seshu r — Google review
We got to see so many animals up close. Really enjoyed. Watched the cheetahs eating. Was taught some super interesting facts by one of the staff. We had a lovely day!

We had an absolutely wonderful self-drive experience today. Very well kept, great visibility of animals, animals look healthy and there are so many of them. Well priced too.

OUR CITY TRULY HAS AMAZING NATURE RESERVES....THANK YOU KRAGGA KAMMA...THE DRIVE THROUGH WAS BREATH TAKING! The spectacular views are really that of the garden of Eden with wild animals all just waiting to show off their beauty! I recommend everyone, please support their efforts it's really affordable!

The roads are unbelievably bad. I've never encountered worse. Driving with a non 4x4 was quite risky.
Apart from that an overall nice, small park with good chances of spotting animals in beautiful scenery.
Eis Meer — Google review
Really really lovely park! Such a nice drive around the place easily market and almost every can will make it threw no problem.
Animals are all wild but you get to see everything nicely .
Unfortunately the cheetah drive threw has been taken away but otherwise it’s still such a lovely place and it’s right here in PE like crazy whaaaat!?!?
Hey Demi Ann (Demi Ann) — Google review
Was a day trip. Loved the idea it is so close to PE city. They seem to scrap the roads everyday so I was able to do the game drive in my Audi. Saw more animals here than I did at a zoo. Highly recommended
Apostolos Moutzouris — Google review
What an amazing experience! My friend and I showed up late and miss the morning tour but ran into the owner who was so lovely she took us to see the rhinos in her vehicle. She had been living there for over 40 years and took care of the reserve with her parents. You could see the love in her eyes as she spoke about it. She gave us an experience we will never forget.
We also did the monkey walk which was a peaceful little trail where we took beautiful photos of insects and plants.
I highly recommend this beautiful magical place to everyone and their families. You can drive your own car, arrange an uber drive thru or you can join one of their tours.
GreenGrassTimePass — Google review
We enjoyed our stay there. The staff very friendly. The park nice and neat and it was such a nice experience being so close to some of the wild animals.
Natasha Kotzee — Google review
The game park drive was a bit of a disappointment. Didn't see any cheetahs or rhinos. The road is absolutely awful, full of potholes and water. Drove mostly in first gear. Stopped at the cafe for light lunch, very friendly staff, tasty food.
Lynn Crafford — Google review
All animals visible in short time. Roads are challenging and directions not well indicated. Rather small but makes animal viewing easier
Jan Brantjes — Google review
We LOVE visiting here. If you come first thing in the morning you are pretty much guaranteed an amazing animal watching experience. Also the decaf coffee at the cafe is very nice! 🦓☕️
Juanitha Vorster — Google review
Wonderful place, amazing animals and has been a great experience. Will definitely be back.
Ryan Mahon3y — Google review
Such a gem and so accessible to visitors from Port Elizabeth. Although small for a reserve, the rewards are great. The animals are generally easy to spot and not fearful of cars.
Sue Hayward — Google review
I don't know about the accommodation but we went for the game drive, it was great, the tour guide(Terri), such a nice lady and she was explanation everything nicely, I enjoyed it, highly recommend it🔥🔥🔥. We also had a chance to have a breakfast at their Cafe, the food was out of this world, I loved it.
Siphe Chaza — Google review
Very lovely small Game Reserve. The animals are used to Cars which allows close Observations and amazing sightings. We spent 2 Nights in Kragga Kamma and enjoyed a very interesting Game Drive where we learned a lot about the nature of These animals.
Maria Jaeger — Google review
Did a detour from Addo to see their animals. It is ok - not great and definitely not as advertised.
The road should be improved to provide 2-way traffic and to enable people to do another loop of the park.
Nelma Basson — Google review
TLDR: Overall, we felt a bit cheetah'ed.
We were worried about how a hatchback would fare and asked at the gate whether the car would be suitable for the self-drive. We were told that the roads were easy gravel, and the hatchback would be fine. In reality, unkempt, uneven and non-gravel roads all over the park. The road is mostly made of sand, often with overturned bricks thrown in, creating sharp obstructions for the undercarriage. Additionally, the sand makes it possible for you to get stuck easily. Absolutely possible with a 4×4, might have changed the experience entirely.
The map given (and Google's version) of the park is completely inaccurate. Signage is poor and there is no way to gauge the length of each route, because the map shows it to be a lot shorter.
The animals are beautiful and easily spotted initially, but once you go deep into the park, it's a lot of empty forest.

Kragga Kamma Rd, Theescombe, Gqeberha, 6000, South Africa
The Baywest Mall is a contemporary shopping center with popular retail chains, a food court, an IMAX cinema, an ice rink and an arcade. The mall is expansive and well-maintained, making it easy to locate desired stores without assistance. However, clear signage pointing towards transportation facilities such as taxi stands could be improved. Overall, the mall makes for a wonderful family outing or date location due to its vast parking options and convenient one-stop shopping experience.
Huge and clean. I easily found all the shop I was looking for without any help. What needs to be clear is the transportation places like taxi ranks, they are not easy to figure out. Nonetheless, a great place to visit with the family and for dates
sia mdolo — Google review
Though Baywest Mall offers a variety of shops, it is a disappointing mall to shop at. As a mom of two kids, Baywest is never my first choice of shopping.
Firstly, there are no designated moms and babes parking like many of the other centres have. So that means, zero convenience of parking.
Their own employees smoke openly in a no smoking zone. Which is a problem for me as I am very health conscious and do not want to even take a breath of nicotine walking to the centre.
In 2015, I had complained about the family restrooms being stinky and not looked after well. 7 years later, the issue is still the same. I refuse to go in those family bathrooms as they smell gross. I would like to find out how often those nappy bins are emptied. The chair provided in the family room is pathetic, to say the least. It is a clear view on what the management think of breastfeeding and how they treat their clients - cheap quality and mentality.
Baywest management, go do your research and see the comfortable feeding chairs Walmer Park has in all their family changing rooms.
Anusooya Gosai — Google review
This is a mall with all major shopping brands etc. and fun filled activities for the whole family.
The mall is clean and well presented.
Shaun — Google review
The mall is falling apart! Huge sections where you cannot walk past due to cracked.
Can’t even do basic maintenance and they market this as an upmarket mall.
Carri-Ann Bloom — Google review
Lots of fun games and activities to enjoy. The kids love this place. Friendly and helpful staff makes this a good spot to take the kids and adults for some unwinding and lots of memories.
Jacques Koen — Google review
Parking is safe and secure. Mall always clean and tidy, and runs through load shedding. Have a great under parking car wash, super friendly and great when doing shopping and leaving your car for a wash and go. Safe.
Krystyna Tonderys — Google review
Baywest Mall is a decent shopping destination, but it falls short in a few areas. On the positive side, the mall offers a wide range of stores and a diverse selection of products. Whether you're looking for clothing, electronics, or home goods, you're likely to find something that suits your needs.
The mall's layout is also well-designed, with spacious walkways and ample seating areas. It's easy to navigate through the different sections and find what you're looking for. Additionally, the mall is clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant shopping environment.
However, there are a few aspects of Baywest Mall that could be improved. Firstly, the parking situation can be quite frustrating. During peak hours, finding a parking spot can be a challenge, and the parking lots often feel overcrowded. This can lead to a stressful start to your shopping experience.
Another area of concern is the variety of dining options. While there are a few restaurants and fast-food chains available, the selection is limited. It would be great to see more diverse and unique dining options added to the mall's offerings.
Additionally, the mall could benefit from more entertainment options. While there is a cinema, it would be nice to see additional activities or attractions to enhance the overall experience. This would make Baywest Mall a more appealing destination for families and individuals looking for a complete day out.
In conclusion, Baywest Mall is a decent shopping destination with a good selection of stores and a well-designed layout. However, the parking situation can be frustrating, the dining options are limited, and the entertainment offerings could be improved. With some enhancements in these areas, Baywest Mall has the potential to become an even more attractive and enjoyable shopping experience.

Shops are closing down left, right, and centre. The place is essentially empty and lacking in options and affordability. If it wasn't for the essential shops like Checkers, PNP, Woolies, Dischem and Clicks, there would probably be nothing going on.

Except for faults at the boom gate my last visit was spectacular. Wide and multiple parking lots with favourable shopping experience under one roof. Fuel station about three hundred meters to the main entance.

My first time at this mall, absolutely loved it, an amazing experience at Gravity Entertainment Centre, an absolute must if u have kids , with a variety of activities and a little take away with delicious eats , the cheesy jalapeños were divine.
The mall has every shop/ retail store possible and was indeed a lovely visit . Great service overall from the staff at the stores we did visit ,

Baywest Mall. The most amazing Mall in PE. Ample food court seating. Free Big screen TV to watch sport. So many clothing outlets to choose from, our favourite Restuarants available too. Great atmosphere! Play area for kids, movies, kids gaming entertainment and so much more. Secure & ample parking!

A beautiful mall, which has great restaurants and playground areas for children and adults too. It also has great stores to do your grocery shopping, clothing, and furniture shopping.
You can find different ATMs of different banks at your convenience.

Tuesday afternoon was quiet. Plenty of parking,. However, we could not find decent shoes for my husband but then he takes a 14. We were also looking for a kitchen gadget and could not find. I looked at the Info board but it did not give us any info when we pressed upper or lower level. We could not find anyone on an info desk. We were also looking to hire a wheelchair but were not successful.
Michele Kaletsch — Google review
Very few maps or directions to the different shops, especially smaller ones. Clean, well maintained. But if you are not someone who loves walking around searching for what you want, don't go here. Great for those with time on their hands and nothing better to do
James Livingstone — Google review
We stopped there en route to our holiday destination to get a couple of things for our baby from Checkers. Checkers was great and we were in and out in less than 30 mins. We checked at the pay station before leaving and it said that the first hour was free so we continued to exit by the boom. Only for our card to not work and when we pressed for help we’re told we had to “validate the card” even if we’re under an hour. We said we have a upset baby in the car which we had but the security guard blatantly refused and made us reverse with a screaming baby and a queue of cars behind us ( that first had to move). A whole 10 minute drama just to put the card in the machine to say “paid”. Completely unnecessary and also the first mall I have encountered where it works like this. All other malls if you are under the free time limit allowed you never have to still validate the card to be able to exit. I highly recommend that this system be changed as you will lose many customers (like you have done with us) especially the way the security handled the matter with no consideration for an upset baby in the car!!

Located 26 km from the city center, Holmeleigh Farmyard in Port Elizabeth is a popular animal touch farm for children. It offers various activities such as feeding farm animals, petting bunnies, milking cows, interacting with peacocks, riding ponies and taking tractor rides. The farm provides close-up experiences with a variety of animals including goats, sheep, pigs, alpacas, donkeys and more.
Great day out especially for children. Wonderful play area to keep the kids busy. The farm animals were cute especially the piglet that followed everyone and the donkeys. The place was well maintained and clean and tidy. The food was delicious and do try the apple tart it's the best I had in years. Friendly staff and lots of seating areas under shade for the hot weather.
Sarah Van Rooyen — Google review
My children loves it every time we go to the Homeleigh Farm. The animals are great with a very nice selection. Horses, goats, sheep, Emo, Alpaca, rabbits, geese, ducks, tortoise, donkeys, peacocks, chickens and ostriches. The food for the animals are R10 and R15 depending on what you choose. The feeding of the animals is always a hoot for the little ones.
They have horse and tractor rides which are R10 each. The play park is quite extensive. They have an old bus and boat for the kiddies to play on as well as a trampoline. They have a section for toddlers only which is quite nice.
The food prices are really impressive with a menu starting at R20. The cold drinks are the same price as any other place starting at R15. The waiting time at the food kiosk takes longer. It is very slow going which was not a real problem. Bathrooms and park clean is clean.
There is a wooden hut that can be rented for kiddies parties next to the play area.
All in all its a real good way to spend your time with the kids and it does not break the bank.
Lizzie Koen — Google review
Must do of you have little kids. Beautiful, stunning scenery, great setup. All children get a little bucket of food pellets and corn to feed the different farm animals.
My kids couldn't get enough of the jungle gym with the boat and the double decker bus just adding to the excitement.
The tractor ride was awesome. Mandated to spot a Falcon on the ride.
Staff were all super friendly.

A perfect family outing. This place has an incredible atmosphere and it has always been the same. Kids and parents love it here. Light eats, everything is reasonably priced. The farm is well maintained, easy to find, with lots of parking.

We really enjoyed feeding the animals, as a nanny it's nice to have some time out with the kids, change of atmosphere and we had a picnic😋😋😋
Angie Ndlovu — Google review
This is such a lovely place in Port Elizabeth. A great spot for a nice walk around the farmyard and then round out the stay with a cool drink and a meal. Especially catered for young families and children to enjoy close up experiences with farm animals. At the farmyard, there are many spaces for different types of animal interactions - goats, sheep, pig, alpaca, donkey, horses, ducks, and chickens. You can purchase a bucket of food to feed the animals pellets. The farmyard is expansive to have a nice walk but confined enough to keep children safe inside the farmyard. There are also plenty of washing stations to ensure cleanliness and sanitary space after interacting with the animals. There is a large playground for children to play which includes swing, trampoline, slide, an old double decker bus converted into a cool fort for kids, and other play areas well kept after. There are 5-6 areas dedicated for sheltered eating areas which are very cute. There are also plenty of outdoor tables. The food options are plenty and catered to both kids and adults. They have both breakfast and lunch options and highly recommend the quiche, Dagwood sandwich, and the scones with fresh jam. There is plenty of cool drink options with several kid friendly options, chips, milkshakes, coffees, and candy. There is also a little Teagarden shop which sells jams, biscuits, cookies, and other nice treats. There is plenty of parking spaces and accessible. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. A highly recommend spending a few hours in the morning or afternoon for a nice getaway on the farm!
Bethany Miles — Google review
Lovely Afternoon treat for the kids. They have a minimum entry fee and you need to buy feed for the animals.
Chantal Lavens — Google review
A brilliant place for kids to play and host parties. The animal side of things needs an upgrade I think. Nice little cafe with small eats and there is a baby chair and baby changing table available. The play area is great, it's big and there are lots of different things for kids to play on.

Holmeleigh Farm is a sweet touch farm for family to enjoy for an outing.
The coffee shop area is very cute and nestled in greenery.
There is ample play area for children - toddlers and older kids.
We had a lovely relaxed family time there.
Thank you.

Theleshin Grimsel — Google review
Every few years when we come to visit PLZ, this was the place to go to with family. Sad to say, that year on year I could notice the place deteriorating slowly. Our visit in Dec'23 was perhaps the last, as the farm animals are few and the place is poorly maintained, even the drinking water for the ducks were contaminated and a dead duckling was floating in there.
It is a pity to see, perhaps the only Farmyard in Eastern Cape falling behind with upkeep to the point of total collapse.
The restaurant still has good food and good pricing, but management needs to put their attention to the farm animals.
Reinhard Labuschagne — Google review
great place for the kids very enjoyable... but I must say you are milking us dry for a Joy ice cream where you pay like R13 at other shops we paid R207 for 4 of them that's a bit ridiculous... Secondly there is no sign or notice at the bunny side nor were we warned at entrance about it only after we were inside the bunnies courtyard which you guys gave permission somone else from your place came and warned us about the bunny rabbit virus after our kiddies held them etc. and said we had to leave.
xenita engelbrecht — Google review
Homely farm is a nice little animal sanctuary to take kids on a small outing to, however. I feel that there are far to little animals to see for the price one pays. There is minimal interaction other than being able to go inside the bunny area to pet them. There is more potential that could be added to this venue

Absolutely an amazing experience! If you are a car lover or not. You must go visit the Autopavillion. It is such an unique place. From old to new cars and also some lovely activities to do.
Brittany Cilliers — Google review
It was my first visit with my little girls and we all loved it. They had such a great time admiring the "beetles", playing the games and the "design a car" art was the cherry on top! Will definitely visit again 🤗

Friendly staff and a great display of old and new. The pic is of VW's new hybrid car. Very impressive!

Mixed feelings about the AutoPavilion experience.
I used to go a lot as a kid but I guess things are always more "magical" when you're a kid.
The place has gone a bit backwards, some of the interactive stations are a bit worn down and some don't work at all. There weren't any crayons at the tracing area where you can trace your own car.
We also did the factory tour and that was an absolute disaster. The guide did not explain any rules to us -didn't even greet us at pick up- then proceeded to shout at me when I took photos which I didn't know was not allowed. The guide then shouted at me again when we got to the drop off point and threatened to call security if I did not delete the pictures which at thay point I already had. He could have been A LOT nicer about the entire situation after all he failed to explain that taking photos was prohibited. Not to mention we could hardly hear him through the earpieces the entire tour... No way to speak to anyone and seriously lacks professionalism. Unfriendly and rude.

The tour was quite interesting (and free). Not allowed to take pics on the tour, but you can in the museum. There are also some nice racing games to play after...
Vaughn Hairbottle — Google review
Excellent museum to experience the history of VW in SA. Museum is modern and clean. A number if various facts on display an a number of beetles and older golfs. The interactive floor upstairs is a must for kids. Has racing games, area to design a car and newspaper and was a lot of fun. Little curio shop on your exit is very reasonably priced. Just a few suggestions/recommendations:
- could possibly add on other vehicles in the VW brand
- allow kids on the factory tour
- create a self service shop on exit as the poor lady the had to answer phones while trying to open cabinets for us to view items.

Georgie Rautenbach — Google review
Well worth a visit here. The staff need to he a bit more friendly, but the story of Uitenhage is told here with the historical pieces on display. My grandfathers drum set is also on display here and it really is nostalgic to walk through this old building. One can smell the history in the scent of the interior and hear it in the creaks of the wooden floors. Highly recommend.

Seaview Predator Park is a wildlife sanctuary and park that offers car tours to view lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras and African penguins. The park charges R85 for adults, R70 for pensioners and R40 for kids. Visitors can spend approximately two hours exploring the park where they can see various animals such as black panthers, leopards and pumas. There are also picnic areas, braais and a restaurant with breathtaking views of the area.
Amazing local game reserve that takes pride into looking after their animals. The Seaview is the most tranquil place to be to calm your soul. Highly recommended

Brochures at ticket box would be great. Children love to tick off what animals they have seen. Some of the enclosures could do with s lot more water
Zelda Kuter — Google review
Great experience. Kids loved it. Adults R85, pensioners R70 and kids R40. There were lots of animals to see. The lions and tigers were beautiful. I especially loved seeing the black panther, leopard and puma. Definitely worth the price. We spent about 2 hours here. There are picnic / braai areas, as well as a restaurant. The view at the restaurant parking area is breathtaking.

We quickly stopped by here for breakfast. The shop is lovely and has a lot of unique and beautiful gifts/ souvenirs to buy. We will be coming back for the tour to see the cheetahs 😉
Juanette Viljoen — Google review
Our tour guide was well informed and shared a wealth of interesting information on the animals in their care. The shop is an experience in itself and the food is good and priced for locals. In fact nothing is priced at the inflated tourist rates. Worth the visit.

An undiscovered jewel in the Eastern Cape! A small farm “dorpie” with a friendly and chilled environment.
Admission charge very reasonable and The shop had some awesome pies and refreshment snacks as well as plenty of beautiful hand made curios and they were really at give away prices!
Our guide, Jandré was very informative, both in terms of highlighting an animal’s history but also explaining why they do and don’t do things. The kiddies loved the play area and petty farm with all the various animals
Such important work is being done here to maintain the endangered cat species.
I would definitely recommend this experience day trip if you in the area. It’s only about 70km east drive from Nelson Mandela Bay. Definitely worth the drive!

But honestly I feel sorry to the cats, seems like they are trapped.

We’ve been to the location last minute as our host recommended it to us and it was totally worth it. A great tour by a young tour guide who gave us a lot of background info about the animals and their story. You can see cheetahs, hyenas, meerkats and more. Definitely recommended!

What an adventure!!! This is a lovely experience if you’ve never tried horse riding, the trail was out of the world because of the views… my highlight was the sand dunes 🤩🤩🤩🤩 …. Our guide (Reece) was so sweet and patient with us as we were terrified when the horses were trotting lol
Lovely, lovely hidden gem!!

It was just perfect! :) the beach ride turned into one of our favourite experiences travelling along the Garden Route! The nature is absolutely stunning and the horses are so beautiful and calm. The beach is about 7 km long and Cassandra chose a horse which loves running for me, while the horse of my boyfriend was really calm and beginner friendly - perfect matches!!
We enjoyed it so much that we booked another ride the day after 🙌☺️

I regained confidence in riding a horse due to the kind nature of the staff and lovely horses. The scenery on the route was beyond beautiful and we had so much fun climbing up the dunes. This experience should be on your bucket list. The staff is also so kind and willing to help.

What an amazing experience! As someone with very little riding experience, the guide (Jan) was extremely patient with us. Our safety was his priority.
The horses especially loved the sea and couldn't wait to run along the beach (much to this newbie's panic ☺)
The only downside (literally the only one) is that because we were not experienced riders, I felt like the the ride was a bit long. The beautiful scenery of the bush, dunes and beach made it worth it!
Lauren Beets — Google review
Wonderful experience with skillful guides. Really enjoyed the morning. The guides were accomodating and knowledgeable in their field. Beach ride was stunning and the horses well looked after.

Been here many times and done the beach ride.
Horses are well looked after, fit for purpose and kind. They are well trained and know the drill.
They match you with the best horse for your confidence and ability (so be honest).
Guides make sure you are safe. You don't do anything you don't feel comfortable with.
The scenery is breathtaking.
Galloping on the beach was wonderful. So much fun.
Our guide was so good she got photos and videos of us while galloping. True horsemanship and riding.

Had an incredible experience at Papiesfontein. From start to finish, it was amazing. Cassandra was so helpful throughout the booking and trail. We were a bit late for a booking and she was super considerate and made us all feel welcome. The horses are great and suited for each rider. I’m a beginner myself and felt comfortable throughout the ride. Jan made us all feel like we could do it all. He built our confidence up which I really liked. The views are stunning and you don’t want it to end. I recommend this to anyone who’s looking for an adventure.

If you stay in or around Jeffreys Bay and you love horses, this is definitely the place to go. I have been to Papiesfontain many times, and it's always just amazing. I can recommend this place for everyone who wants to ride, even for very beginners or advanced riders; everyone will have a lot of fun. Cassandra, the manager, is brilliant and very friendly, and all the guides are doing an amazing job. The horses look very happy and healthy. 5/5 stars!

The horses were well-trained and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my day. What an experience! My daughter and her friends went and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They said galloping on the beach was their best part though, with Savanna and Mulan having a sibling race. Great atmosphere, guides are very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. Jan and Suné were fabulous and so much fun. Horses are very well cared for and shown lots of love. Definitely coming again!
Colorful amusement park featuring water slides, a pool, simple rides & a putt-putt golf course.

It's a really amazing outing to Seal Point lighthouse. Stunning rocks to explore. Plenty bird life. Nevermind restaurant is excellent. Beautiful shell beach. Lots of hiking trails. It's situated in Cape st Francis and very close to the main swimming beach.

Crazy crazy crazy steep and crazy crazy high ! if your scared of hights do not go on the tour.
Really nice views from above but the climb down is pretty daunting.
The lighthouse though is kept up really well, and the shop beneath has really nice items to look threw some quite expensive but really nice !
It’s also not much of a tour , the guy just walks up to the top and then watches you. No explanation of anything or any history etc.

Well maintained lighthouse and just beautiful. We were with young kids so couldn't go to the top. Loved what we could have access to.

Visited the Lighthouse on Sunday... despite the misty, windy, wet weather, it was an awesome outing. Great views from the top and very windy! Large number of people there. Would recommend an outing to this Lighthouse.
Audrey Ehlers — Google review
One of the perfectly preserved lighthouse on the coast, an absolute must if you happen to be in and around St Francis area. The best place to get an unobstructed pictures is the Nevermind restaurant, a good place for a quick bite too.
Arnold Petersen — Google review
The sea and nature was angry - rain high wind rough sea - when we visited adding to the naturally absorbing coast and coastline. Nature reducing us to mere mortals.
Worth a visit if you're in that part of the world.
John Haigh — Google review
I enjoyed the experience and view. The first two staircases are very narrow. The staircases from the middle up are a bit steep but seemed much easier to climb than some other lighthouses I have visited. Don't forget to ask for a booklet after paying. I really liked the portal windows. We also enjoyed a walk on the trails nearby and could get some better shots of the lighthouse.
Jason Bailey — Google review
Beautiful location at the most South Eastern point of South Africa. The Seal Point lighthouse is well kept and there are tours. First lit in 1878 and almost 28m high. The restaurant on the premises is a perfect place to enjoy the lighthouse and surrounding ocean views with your pet or family. There is also a walking trail around the lighthouse / Seal Point area and a blue flag beach just down the road.
Donovan Gaddin — Google review
Wonderful outing. Friendly people. R60 per person to go to the top of the lighthouse. Pet friendly lighthouse. I am not sure if our pup is the first doggie to venture to the top, but feels cool to think so. Please note that the metal "staircases" are more like ladders as the steps are small, narrow and steep. The lighthouse is 28 metres high. There was a market selling clothing, jewellery, candles and more. Everything at the market is extremely expensive but beautiful. The market space is very cramped with lots of people. They state that they close at 14:30 but there were still a lot of people who came in. Times probably differ in the holiday season.
Tersia — Google review
A lighthouse that must be visited when in the area. A cost of R60 to climb the 150 odd steps to the top is worth it. A great view from the top.
A lovely restaurant right next door is perfect after the steps and then spend time in the store at the lighthouse.
Pranay Devchand — Google review
Great functional monument to a historic period in South Africa's history. Still very well preserved and tells a great story. It has exceptional views (just mind the wind at the top).
The stairs / ladders to get to the top is VERY steep and might be difficult to climb for older people or little kids.
Andre Fourie — Google review
The view is stunning... would recommend going.. just no kids under the age of 9 can go up the lighthouse
Chaunll Coetzee — Google review
Not the most friendliest welcome. For a place that attracts a lot of tourists I expect the person who works at the lighthouse to welcome people politely. There's a R60 entrance fee as well.
Roxane Geyers — Google review
Beautiful lighthouse and amazing views from the top. Not much more inside, except photos of 2 ex-lighthouse keepers. The restaurant seems nice, but we didn’t have time to sample anything on offer.
Tolbos Country Shop & Restaurant in Patensie, situated near the renowned Baviaanskloof region, offers a delightful experience. The tranquil garden and cozy indoor seating make it an ideal spot for a meal or coffee. The menu boasts a variety of dishes, including poached eggs on an open roll and unique options like mince jaffel with chips and biltong with green fig and cream cheese on ciabatta.
What a beautiful place! With home made jams and bottled foods and sauses to pick from.
We had delicious milo and strawberry milkshakes and I enjoyed a big slice of a deliciously moist carrot cake.

The service was excellent. We visited this place on our way through on a tour of Hanky and paternity area and decided to stop in here. Unfortunately the quality of the carrot cake needs improvement. However the chocolate cake was reasonable but for the reputation of the ladies in the area we would have expected something a little bit better.

A MUST-STOP in Patensie!
Food was lovely and tasty and an interesting variety of "unusual' dishes from our regular city food experiences.
I had a mince jaffel with chips, shared sweet potato & droerwors soup with homemade ciabata bread and my spouse had the biltong, green fig and cream cheese on ciabata.
For dessert I tried the nougat cremora tart (very nice but very sweet) and my spouse had carrot cake. Cappuccino with almond milk.

Tolbos Shop is an experience. It has a tranquil garden as well as inside seating for it's cafe. They serve all sorts of things. I was there for brunch and had the poached eggs on an open role that was excellent. Their coffee is good but not enough to travel far too get.
There is a chicken coop and a kids play and climb area.
Inside is a lovely little shop selling home made soaps, sweets and wines. It was quite tempting. If you are short on cash then don't let your wife in there😀.

Very disappointed, they hollow tinned the greens without informing us when we book and still charged us R2450 for a 2 ball. Highly over priced for a avg golf course. It was nice adventure during our Garden Route trip. The longest line is along the river. Personally, I was scared because there were stones nearby) Although later I realized from the photo that in fact the stones are at a safe distance :) Most of the lines are pretty short. But there is an opportunity to get used to how everything works before the longest one.

Farm 509/1 Witelsbos Tsitsikamma, 6304, South Africa
Tsitsikamma National Park is a well-known forested national park located along the coast of South Africa's Garden Route. The park boasts stunning scenery, including valleys, rivers, high mountains, and cliffs overlooking open bays. Visitors can experience refreshing sea and sky views while hiking on the Otter Trail or exploring one of the park's many campgrounds.
Definitely a highlight of the Garden Route.
Spent an afternoon exploring this glorious oceanfront national park. Hiked to the suspension bridges and up to an epic lookout high above through fynbos, leading to views of rugged coastline and stunning mountains in the distance.
While the suspension bridges were impressive, the most memorable part of my short visit was timing a hike to The Waterfall (think official name) for sunset (think this is technically not permitted - I am a seasoned hiker and had headlamp and provisions).
while the waterfall would be impressive during the day, at sunset it was phenomenal. No other tourists at that time, I skinny dipped and swam around the small pools in front of the golden hour illuminated waterfall. Got back to the car around dusk - again, not a recommendation but if you are going to do this take a headlamp, probably don’t hike alone, and a map.
OJ H — Google review
We visited here in June, but the weather was perfect, the trails reasonably uncrowded, and the trails in excellent condition. We loved the hike over the suspension bridges and up to the overlook : spectacular. The climb up to the overlook is short but steep, well worth the effort.
Marsha Russell — Google review
One of the best campsites and national parks in SA. Best ocean views. Good hiking trails too, though the waterfall hike is medium to hard. It depends on your fitness levels, be sure to be fit and wear good quality hiking shoes with good grip on the soles. The rocks are jagged and can be slippery from due and ocean spilling over. Take 1ltr of water and some snacks so you can have some power when you get to the water fall. It's about 1.5 hours to the waterfall and another 1.5 hours back to camp. We did it on a fast pace. It could take longer at a more relaxed pace. Definitely worth going to the waterfall. It's big enough to swim in.

Incredibly beautiful place. I was fortunate enough to do the famous Otter Trail multi-day hike through the park and it was an unforgettable experience. Fantastic place for enjoying nature and good vistas. The park is clean and well kept. Once you pass the gate there is about 15 min drive to a big carpark. The view of the ocean is breathtaking. Restaurant and shops are available. There are many hiking trails and beaches to enjoy. Of course, you have to visit the Suspension Bridge.

Stayed in a bungalow for 2 nights, clean and beds a super comfy.
The restaurant is currently being built, so eating is in a temporary tent and building work can be disruptive to the tranquillity of the place at the "beach" end. Still worth it, wild and wonderful.

Be aware that this is a major construction site. No toilets facilities, except at restaurant....long walk.

Beautiful place. Lots of adrenaline junkie activities but if you want something more relaxed, there is a really nice boat ride for R296. Walk to suspension bridge is a moderate difficulty..give it about an hour but its worth it. The only con I had were the bathrooms. They’re situated only at the entrance you constantly need to walk all the way back: go to the toilet asap when you arrive

Absolutely breathing taking!
The only reason am not giving 5 star is that I feel they need security guards at the Suspension Bridge, there was 1 guy that kept rocking the bridge back and forth, which made me almost fall. Not fun at all...
But otherwise it was a lovely experience!

The park has some amazing trails like the otter trail. It seemed a little challenging for small kids so we just walked the suspension bridges. They were excellent and the wind, rocky seas added some much loved anxiety. The climbs are easy but larger tour groups can be less cautious whilst ascending. There is currently construction going on that makes the entry very confusing. Also be sure to use the toilets at the bottom. The larking attendants can assist you, parallel parking is the only option alongside the roads, I suggest going early for a better parking spot.

Enjoyed the lookout hike. Paths are clearly marked and well kept. There are lots of beautiful spots to detour off the trail.
One set of restrooms are near the entrance due to construction. Sadly, the new restaurant is going to destroy a beautiful spot.
The Storm River Bridge, a deck arch bridge built in the 1950s, is a renowned attraction in Tsitsikamma National Park. This remarkable feat of engineering stands tall at a height of 394 feet above the Storm River. The suspension bridge spans between two cliffs at the mouth of the river and offers breathtaking views of the canyon below. Visitors can enjoy walking on the bridge and admiring its magnificent structure while experiencing some slight shaking.
A beautiful sight and tourist attraction. I was not prepared for the long hike all the way to the bridge, but it was worth it. The views are breathtaking.

Still a marvelous piece of engineering and beautiful to see. There are several boardwalks with various viewing spots overlooking the awesome canyon. There are shops, places to eat and picnic as well as a petrol station. We always love stopping here for a peaceful break when traveling the garden route.

Despite the rain and mist it was still worth the visit. Stunning scenery and an important environment. It's about an hour round trip walking from the carpark with lots of steps. I was glad of stout walking shoes. The Cattle Baron Restaurant there was good also.

Honestly this is my favourite stop on the garden route, I'm not always sure why but it is. Nestled in lush greenery with stunning views, you truly feel in the wild. Stop here, grab a drink and some food and just enjoy the view!

The storms river Bridge has beautiful majestic views of the mountains with an abundance of flowers and rocks. There is a Total fuel station with a convenience shop and a few other shops. An excellent place to stop and catch a bite. The viewing decks are also close by.

Very good experience of walking the bridge and also viewing it from the viewpoint behind Steers at the Total Petroport.
You can walk under the bridge on one end and emerge on the other side, and then walk through the bridge on the road level to make your way back to the starting point.
The only annoying thing is the cars passing by so fast and making that annoying zooming past noise.
Otherwise, this is an incredible, free experience and you need to do it and feel being 120m above the river. 👌🏾😍

Been passing through here for 35 years, and today was the first time I've actually stood under the bridge. Great spot for a little perspective.

Time well spent. Take a short walk on the pedestrian walkway to look down into the gorge.
Fuel. WC kept kleenex and in working order. Various smaller shops for food and souvenirs.

A great place to stop and refuel your vehicle and your tummy. Take a few minutes extra to walk down to the viewpoint and to enjoy an amazing view of the bridge and the river down below.

Beautiful beyond words and worth a stop while you drive down what's the start of the Garden Route.
Nice little fuel station at the bridge for a refresh and recharge.
Beautiful walk ways leading down to a viewing deck and then a smaller deck that give you great views of the valley and bridge itself.

If you’re afraid of heights this isn’t the place to be. But it has a great view from the top and you can walk below the bridge. It is a great intro if you’re considering the big bungee jump.

In my opinion one of the nicest looking bridges in SA (not excluding Bloukrans bridge).
Walk over the bridge, grab a bite to eat on the lookout deck and watch this spectacular view while stretching your legs.

Very clean. Nice for a stop to refill the gas tanks, recharge the human batteries and get a bite to eat or use rest rooms. Bonus is a sightseeing walk alongside or under the bridge for amazing views

Made a stop for breakfast on our way to Cape town, very friendly staff at the little shop and also at the Mug and Bean.
We made a stop again when we came back.
Its clean and well looked after. Sitting at the back with the view of the bridge and just be careful of the monkeys as they will try to steal your food

Lovely staff. A special shout out to Stan, the man. What a lovely guide and human being. Very helpful, humorous and kind. He definitely makes the entire experience much more easier and enjoyable.

Such an awesome day with Untouched Adventures on the kayaks and lilos! Our guides, Clinton & Heiny, were so good and really amazing with the kids, making sure everyone was safe and having an amazing day on the water! You have to be there to experience this beautiful place, a true gem! Thank you Untouched Adventures, what a day 🤩

A beautiful adventure at the Storms river mouth that starts with a short hike up the hill on the rocks then we Kayak between beautiful cliffs, the mix of sea and fresh water is nice and cool. We then reach a point where we get onto the lilo's and we swim on fresh water. There's also an option to dive from a top rock for those who are brave. The crew was amazing, thanks Rowen and Norman as well as management and the ladies in the front desk 😊

I cannot recommend this experience enough! We had an incredible time. Our guides were Clinton and JJ, both very friendly and knowledgeable. From kayaking across the sea to floating along the Storm's River, this is not an adventure you want to miss! We felt safe, secure and comfortable throughout, and it was not difficult nor required extensive fitness to complete the round trip. Thank you, Clinton and JJ! We cannot wait to return.

What an amazing experience! We were blessed to have good weather on the day and got to paddle out from the boat house. Once we entered the river mouth, it felt like we were in another world! Breathtakingly beautiful!
The guides were also fantastic, and put our safety first at all times.

The area is beautiful and Curtly and Saul were amazing guides and lovely people. The gorge was stunning. We had to wait quite a bit for our wet suits and other gear and there were many steps to get to the kayak put in, but there were lovely views the whole way. Kayaking and lilo time were probably less than the back and forth, but still worth it.

Experienced their adventurous kayak and lilo activity. It is an unforgettable experience for me. The team at Untouched Adventures is extremely friendly and professional. It was my first kayaking experience but they made it super easy for all of us. Starting from the violent sea and then entering into the stormsriver mouth was super fun. Post that indulging into lilo activity was yet another amazing experience for us. We spent around 1 hour inside the river mouth where we had fun with water. Proper life jackets, wet suits etc were provided to us. The team was super careful from the beginning to the end and made the complete experience pretty smooth for us. They also briefed us about the historical essence of the place during the journey. I’ll highly recommend everyone to experience this amazing activity. However, I’ll recommend to book online before reaching the place which you can do from their official website. The cost of the activity is also not very high. So easily you can enjoy the same. Even the online booking experience is very smooth. You instantly get the booking confirmation. Overall an amazing experience.

Wow we thought it was just a bit of kayaking but then got to one section and it turned into lilo floating, swimming and jumping off rocks. Certainly on of my most favorite kayaking trips. The views were just stunning! Norman and Breyton were so sweet and lovely. Best tour guide with lots of knowledge. They took amazing shots of us. My husband is scared of heights and even he did the jump. We have memories for a life time.

The organization was very good. The entertainment was not so extremely and long how we expected. Our group were more fit for longest trip. But cliff jumping added fun.
The gorge is incredible and impressive.

Kayaking and lilo done in storms river is really amazing. Everyone should experience the adventurous trip on this scenic view. Helpful and friendly guides were escorted throughout the ride. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to go kayaking in the ocean due to bad weather. Also we have to give entry fees at the entrance of the national park, so better to book in advance to avoid multiple entry fees and get slots in advance.
Nihal Abubacker — Google review
Overpriced. Canyon is really beautiful, but for that I guess you pay at the park entrance. Actual kayaking is only 1.5km one way. Together with lilo, and cliff jumping close to only 1h on the water. The rest is changing, walking, instructing. Plus 10 euro on top for old wetsuit and water shoes. Should cost at least twice cheaper.
Anastasia Senina — Google review
This was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had!
To start off you have a waiting area to where your wetsuit & gear is brought if you hire ( for this time of the year the water is freezing so do it!). The wetsuits are wet due to frequent washing.
There are locker rooms to store belongings and you get a dry-bag in which you can take some belongings with. They also provide a waterproof bag for your cellphone. Honestly the water was calm enough to just take photos without all the extras. If you take a waterproof bag, take a dry towel with because it will ruin photos if you can't wipe the droplets😅
Our guides Rowan & Breyton were funny and very clued up on the area which made such an impact.
Because of rougher seas we had to hike closer which was quite a lot of up and down stairs to do if you are not fit.
However we were asked to enjoy and not rush through the experience which made it perfect for taking photos and taking in each activity.
You don't kayak very far so it gives you time to just take in the view.
The Cliff jumping is 3-4 meters / 5-6 depending on your preference.
Make sure to bring a towel and dry clothes for afterwards!
Would definitely recommend ( even if you( like me) are not an adrenaline junkie.

We had a great time kayaking Storms River Gorge with Untouched Adventures! Our guides (Franco and Lisa) made sure everyone was safe and accounted for and it was a blast kayaking through the gorge. The views were beautiful and we got to have some fun paddling on the lilos (basically inflatable little air mattress type things) and doing some cliff jumping. Definitely need to book at least a day or two in advance since the time slots fill up.

This is definitely an experience we'll worth the adventure. Groups are kept small, and there were 2 guides to ensure safety. We set off into the ocean close to the river mouth. And then into the Stormsriver canyon with the massive Rockformations on both sides of the narrow river makes for a breathtaking experience. We then changed over onto the lilo's to cruise along the river. We also did a jump into the water, which was great fun. I can definitely recommend this activity for everyone.

What an amazing experience! This will definitely be a highlight of your garden route trip. The service is friendly, informative and efficient and elevates the entire experience. Our guides, Breyton and Siphe, were fantastic. Breyton was passionate and energetic and extremely knowledgeable about the area and activity - he answered all our questions. It was also remarkable how he set out to make personal connections with each team member: remembering our names, making friendly conversation with each individual and trying to accommodate for everyone's individual needs. He was super! The trip itself is breathtakingly beautiful, extremely fun, adventurous and overall unforgettable. I would recommend this experience to anyone and everyone.

Today I had one of the best experiences of my life!! Stan and Dean you guys are the best!! The service was phenomenal and the scenery was one of a kind! I had the privilege to share a kayak with Dean making sure all the guests are safe and equipment are well taken care of. Stan was our front guide with lots of knowledge on the environment. Together they made a great team! We paddled in the kayaks, we body paddle on Lilos and did some cliff jumping from two different heights (optional)
We saw nature with it's beautiful wildlife.(Managed to see a seal as well) . Would recommend for all ages (those who still has that adventure inside of them!)
The Big Tree Tsitsikamma is a must-visit attraction located in the Storms River Mouth Rest Camp within the Tsitsikamma section of the Garden Route National Park. The camp offers various accommodation options, including log cabins, forest huts, cottages, and chalets to suit different budgets. Visitors can explore the green trail leading to the impressive Big Tree and continue their adventure on the yellow and red trails for a looped forest walk experience. The 2.
I loved this place. It is so well maintained. There is the green trail to the big tree and then the yellow and red trails if you want to enjoy a looped forest walk after seeing the big tree. I did the yellow trail and it has been one of my favourite trails for walking with yellow woods and iron wood trees so far. It was 2.6km and I took it fairly slow at one and a half or so. If you have a wild card you can get free entry. I highly recommend a stop here even if just to see the big tree.

A recommended place to go to if you are staying or travelling through the garden route. The big tree had been renovated recently so the facilities are much better now compared to how it was many years ago. It’s got many trails as well for hikers to explore. Some trails are on built wooden bridges and panels. Some trails are in the wild amongst trees, bushes and passing small river streams. It’s really nice because there’s no set paths, so you may choose your trail depending on distance and difficulty. An entrance fee is required, I think it was R35-50 per person and I spent about 3-5 hours here. A very refreshing hike because the trees provide shade against the sun and heat.

This is a hiking route that is laid out with a wooden deck, making it possible for most people to participate in walking there, including a blind person like my mother. It is very beautiful there and reasonably priced. There is a 1000 year old tree, and the route there is 500 meters from the entrance. We paid R25 per person. There are also bathrooms available and at the time of our visit it was very well kept. I highly recommend this place if you are traveling in that direction. They do not accept cash, cards only.

There really was a big tree and it was really big and really old . So cool how there is a timeline illustration of major events in SA history that occured since the tree has been standing. There is also great hiking trail , not too difficulty and not too long at about 4km. You do feel like you in a movie hiking in the woods . It's really good fun .

Magnificent wordless a must see once in your life, you have to go. There is an ambience around this tree that can only be seen and felt in person. The walk is peaceful with birds chirping and hopping between the forest floor. So if you are a bird 🐦 lover this place is for you. One thing in mind there is enough dustbins please don't litter. When we have the privilege to go to this tree we must keep it the way it was.

About a 500m walk to the Big Tree, with wooden walkways all the way. We did visit after some rain, so the walkways can be slippery in some spots, so be sure to wear some shoes with good grip. Beautiful scenery!

If you pay already for getting in inside national park to see suspension bridge, you don’t have to pay again here.
You need only to walk 500 m inside to see big tree, however it looks like they didn’t give extra attention to this place, after passing the shop inside, you will see some broken chairs and messy area, there’s no shop to sell refreshments, there was a cafe before and they closed it.
Only there’s a shop to sell souvenirs and toilets at gate only.
It’s nice to come here and see the big tree if you already paid for national park otherwise it doesn’t worth it.

Well maintained and a very nice walk in the forest. The Big Tree really is big, its something you have to see for yourself, no photo or description can do it justice. Pretty cool to think this tree is over a 1000 years old.

Take a short walk along well lined and wooden paths to view the 1000+ year old tree.
The staff are efficient and the buildings clean when you enter. The walk to the tree is well sign posted and it’s a wonderful meander through nature.

Almost didn't stop here because of the rain, but as it cut off the short big tree walk was worth it.
Most of the path is wheelchair friendly, with a sloped incline and a wooden walkway, some areas were a bit gritty but nothing a wheelchair cannot get through. The most problematic part for a wheelchair would be the small set of stairs in certain areas.
Entrance for South Africans is R24. There are also two other longer hikes (not wheelchair friendly). Bathrooms were really well kept and with a bit of style with designated wheelchair friendly cubicles.
There is also a curio shop by the entrance.
Built around giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees, this canopy tour takes visitors through the treetops.
This was an amazing experience. Kids (8 and 5) were thrilled. Our two guides were simply the best. Would do it again any time and would advice everyone to do it. The view is breathtakingly beautiful and it's so much fun to slide through the forest

I am very un satisfied about my tour. The guide seems OK but don't have much knowledge about the fauna & flora of the area. He even suggested that porcupines when attack will projet their quills to the enemies!?
Also when I asked where "The human Tree " he said there was to much people around so the driver didn't stop!? The Giant Outenqua yellow woods and the smelling tree he didn't seem to know what I was talking about.
I thought we were going to "Explore & Learn. We did the truck ride stop at some oaks trees & eucalyptus for long time because the tour had to be two hours or so.
And at the bridge the water was low. I ask when the river was at its highest water level he answered in summer!?
The tour was r440 didn't see what the advertising brochure described.
I surely wouldn't recommend that trip.

This was such a rewarding experience. Chester was incredibly knowledgable, and friendly. The tour itself is so calming as you meander through the forest, over creeks and through puddles. Forget about the peril of jumping off a HIGH bridge or zip lining underneath it, and get fixated on the people at the event who will help you through every aspect of this excitement! From our jump master Justin to the lovely ladies at the till, they all want to make it great for you, the crazy jumper! Of course nothing prepares you for this excitement as you are sent over the edge, ultimately even if it is your umpteenth time to absolute panic laced with pure sense of excitement especially when the bungy pulls tight and the ground is gradually whipped away from you…repeat…over and over as you take it all in.

Had a blast finally getting to come bungee jump at the Bloukrans Bridge. Our guide Marvin was funny and accommodating and made sure my husband and I had a great experience from start to finish. The system they have set up with it all taking place under the bridge plus the zipline and skywalk and a super awesome team make it such a stellar time. I’ve jumped at many places in the past including in California at the bungee place I used to work at. Coming from a bungee background and understanding the various safety precautions that should take place, I can assure everyone thinking about it that this site knows what they are doing and has many systems and backups in place for every step in your experience. I highly recommend this bungee jump to everyone! My highest bungee to date and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Nicole Rodriguez — Google review
Absolutely energising experience! Loved every moment of it. The thrill of zipline and seeing the ocean between the mountains halfway through the zipline to the bungee spot. That view is everything!
Then, the actual bungee itself, amazing!!! Yoy feel so alive doing it. The staff are superfriendly. The video is ready about 20 minutes after you come back from the jump, and trust me, you WANT that video. There is also a nice gift shop and there are curio sellers too. If you want refreshments, there are also a few options in that regard.
You can do the activity as a walk-in (though I do recommend booking). If you are booking, do factor in roadworks on the way into your travel time to make it for your scheduled slot, though you can be accommodated on the next one. If you are squeamish about the bungee, you can do the skywalk. The bungee is definitely a must-do activity.

Really the highlight of our holiday.
Just so friendly and helpful staff - really put us at ease while being informative and strict with safety measures.
My daughter did the jump and zip lining was a bonus .
She was thrilled . I was scared for her but it was an amazing thrill. The staff are so fun yet U feel safe with them - which is so important .
Bit pricey but so worth it with their professionalism.
We did the walk and the added bonus was being able to hang out at the top - I mean it literally - so U get a taste of the adventure.
Actually the rest of family did it - I was just a scaredy cat( afraid of heights ) and just took photos .
But it well worth the money spent.
Good job Guys and Gals- so impressed by Ur attitude 👍👍👍💯

We had a great experience, the staff are all very friendly and excited with you. The vibe on the bridge for the bungee is amazing, they have music playing and all look happy and excited. I highly recommend this experience.

It was really an amazing experience. I felt like I was flying ( for a moment I thought I was dying 😅). The staff was very lively, cheerful and professional. Unarguably the best adventure activity I’ve ever done. Everyone should do it atleast once. And the fact that it included 3 activities in a single one, it made it even better.
A quick tip for the first timers - DON’T THINK, JUST JUMP.

Amazing amazing experience!! Staff were so friendly and accommodating, music pumping , making the experience an absolute party and a day never to be forgotten. Big big thanks to the team! 😁

What an experience, never in my life have I ever thought I would do this. It was such a scary but great experience. The staff are such great people so positive and helpful and very patient.
Lindie Meyer — Google review
It is the highest bungee jump in the world and is priced very fairly. Great start and the wait was short due to its remote location. The entrance to the jump site is on the Eastern Cape side so you must pay for the use of the bridge both ways if you are coming from Cape Town.
However, the video and photo quality was poor compared to other sites. It appears that they have not updated their camera equipment for years.
Andrew Wong — Google review
Not for the feint hearted. But well worth the ticket price. Our guide Welcome was good fun but also very professional. We were very comfortable with the safety procedures at all times, which is saying something given how high the bungee jump is. The additional cost of the video and photos is also very reasonable. Great experience!

Simply the best. 12+ years ago I came. Now with kids and ‘old’ the jump was more impressive, the staff even better trained and skilled, and the experience better than ever. 20, 34, or 45 or 60 years old this is a must to do if on the garden route. They treated me and my 11 year boy old like kings. Truly world class …. I only hope I can come back and go for #3 jump …. Thank you from the bottom of my hm heart for a great experience (and an amazing lesson for my son) 💥💥🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️❤️

My partner did the Bungy and I did the skywalk. The staff here are honestly incredible! The most friendly and welcoming people. Every single staff member met us with big smiles, were so helpful and kind. Kept us laughing the whole time

Once in a lifetime experience. If you’re an adrenaline junky you need to try bungee jumping for sure. And if you have experience this is a must-do as the highest bungee-jumping bridge in the world, quite a milestone. The jump spot is not easily accessible, you get there by zipline (already included in the price you get 2 for 1 hehe) and from there on you’re in the hands of a very competent crew to prep, check your safety and entertain you. Well done to all the staff. It was an unforgettable experience and one of the best bungees I’ve ever done.

Bloukrans River Bridge, Tsitsikamma, Plettenberg Bay, 6600, South Africa
Located in the De Vasselot region, along the banks of the Groot River, is Nature's Valley Rest Camp within Tsitsikamma Section of Garden Route National Park. This picturesque campground offers basic amenities, such as clean ablutions and hot water. The gate guard is available round-the-clock, including early mornings at 3 am. During heavy rainfall, some campsites may become muddy.
We were very disappointed that as we were starting and ending the Tzitzikama hiking trail on prepaid start and finish dates that MTO whom were happy to recieve our EFT timeously were not nearly as professional in even having anyone present at their offices WHICH WERE LOCKED ON BOTH DAYS 5 DAYS APART. to have the same courtesy to be present or have an attendee to welcome us at start nor finish. The poor lady checking in vehicles at the boom had to grovel in the camp office for a map for us for the trail which considering the distance and fair request for a 5 day hike MTO were too unprofessional to provide. She eventually found one thank goodness which was of no comparison in quality to the Otter trail one. Kindly there was an allocated area for vehicles to park for our return and our vehicle was in good order upon our return. I cannot emphasize enough the poor professionalism of MTO we needed a no for the key safe at each overnight to get keys to unlock the bungalos and this was done telephonically, there was no indemnity form on hand to sign. Poor customer service indeed.

The rooms were a little dirty under the beds' frames. Ventorlators only worked in one of the three cabins me and my friends rented. Not all the cabins had the same utilities. The service was lacking on the day. The phone line was permanently busy on the day we were due to arrive.
However, the stay itself was wonderful. The atmosphere, the beds, and the cabins were very cozy. There was so much to do and the wildlife was one of a kind.

I have been camping at Nature’s Valley for almost 3 and a half decades it is an amazing campsite the staff is professional and extremely friendly. It feels like home… It is a family friendly campsite with a lot of activities for the young ones (Over December holidays)… One caution to mention though is the baboons and monkeys they lost all fear for humans and therefore can be quite intimidating to children and even adult ladies….
Still I WILL RECOMMEND THIS SPOT TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE EVERY TIME!!! Best spot for December holidays by far.
Lukas Barnard — Google review
Clean ablutions, hot water, gate guard awake at 3 in the morning to open for us. Campsites can get a bit muddy in excessive rain. Luckily was not very busy so could pick a dry stand. Don't let food lie around, baboons in the area. Great location!

A beautiful tent chalet in the woods, complete with a little stream running past the stoep. Perfect for camping with kids, the children there had the time of their lives I could tell. It was full and busy but pleasant and very close to a beautiful beach.
Bird watchers paradise!
Ideal for camping with kids.
The room was neat and clean and equipped with all the basics including fresh clean towels.
It gets hot and stuffy without the fan, ours was not working. Ablutions were tolarable but wear sandals for the shower please.

Incredible gem. But lack of management and enthusiasm, which is sad, because it’s such a beautiful place.
Take your own new R5 coins if you want to do washing, as they don’t keep any and the machines are privately owned.

Great for the avid hiker. But not for small children. Bring warm clothes as your near the water. If you want to braai bring your own grid.

Went to pickup a runner who finished the Otter trail run and was given 6min to find him and exit before we had to pay entrance fees. Thousands of rands paid to SanParks and this is how they treat spectators. “We will be watching you…” said the entrance person.

The Natures Valley Rest Camp in Tsitsikama National Park was an incredibly disappointing experience. It took an excessive amount of time to reach them by phone, and upon finally securing a bush hut, the odor was unpleasant. The ablutions were disgustingly dirty, and the kitchen was even worse. What prompted me to write this review was the sight of rubbish scattered everywhere, including bottle caps that seemed to have been there for years, cigarette butts around the ranger's hut, and various other small debris. It was evident that no one had bothered to clean up in a long time. In just a 20-meter stretch, I filled a shopping bag with trash. The state of Natures Valley Rest Camp is truly disgraceful and revolting. I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere.
Albert Pote — Google review
No hot water while we were staying there. No soap in dispensers or toilet paper when we arrived. Both the washing machines were broken. Very tall grass at the washing lines. Beautifull nature but the facilities here needs to be upgraded and painted.
Mariëtha Louw — Google review
Some of the camping sites are rather small, suited for smaller tents, but not caravans.
Ablution, washing- and kitchen facility. (You need new R5 coins for the washing machines and the dryers, but hand-wash is also possible. Washing lines available. I am happy with the fassilities.
What put me off was the noisy people. The lack of consideration of fellow campers is something I struggle to deal with.
Edit: Extremely noisy people. Rude and disrespectful.
Marna Greyvenstein — Google review
Stayed in a cabin over a weekend with some friends. Beautiful region and swimming in the lagoon is definitely a must! The camp is perfectly fine nothing to write home about but it's a lovely area with a good amount of wildlife, more than I expected.
Michael-John Redelinghuys — Google review
This is one of the most wonderful SANParks. Tucked away in the bush surrounding the Nature's Valley estuary, we had a wonderful camp here.
There are excellent additional facilities such as communal scullery and freezers, fridges and stoves (and even ovens).
There is a laundry with coin-operated washers and dryers.
The Otter Trail and Tsitsikamma Trail Start from here too, so there are amazing short walks and hikes available from this rest camp if you use it as a base.
(The Kalander Kloof Hike and The Salt River Mouth Hike are notable nearby hikes (each under 5km)
The staff are fantastic, and there is wood for sale at the camp.
(The nearest proper grocery store is far away though in Plettenberg Bay).
A wonderful place to camp and for kids to play in a safe, beautiful well-managed park.

Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation & Awareness Centre is a non-profit organization that offers lodging, tours and experiences to visitors who can observe various big cats such as lions, leopards and cheetahs. The center aims to raise funds for the rehabilitation of injured wild animals, although visitors are not allowed to visit these facilities due to safety concerns. The knowledgeable guides provide valuable insights into the conservation efforts at Tenikwa, making it an educational experience for those interested in wildlife conservation.
If you are thinking about doing a safari in a private reserve, don’t and come here! It was such a pleasure to support their incredible activities. Our guide was wonderful: so passionate and knowledgeable! An amazing tour, we learn and saw a lot.
Francesca Palmiotto — Google review
One can see very beautiful "big cats" such as serval, caracal, lion, leopard and cheetah. We expected to visit the rehabilitation facilities and how local employees/volunteers take care of wounded wild animals but this is unfortunately not possible. The concept is actually to exhibit big cats to raise money to finance the rehab center which is not open to public. Our guide was good.

This is a great place to see the animal rescued as well as the resident birds and animal who will live thier lives here. It's a must to visit in the garden route as the cause, saving these animals is enough and they really need our support so for that alone, it's definitely worth a visit.
Arnold Petersen — Google review
If you want to spot some wildcats in South Africa we can recommend coming here. You will only see animals which can’t live on their own in the wildness again. The other rescued animals are kept away from humans.
For 260 ZAR you can book a tour where a guide tells you a lot about the animals and helps you spot the animals.

It is a brilliant institution that informs greatly and helps injured or bad-treated animals! I can highly recommend it. The wildcats are fantastic animals that are almost extinct. The guides are very well informed, friendly and should be supported! Many animals are released back into the wild if this is possible.

We spontaneously stopped here and had a really great time. We were given a private tour of about an hour and a half by Mzizi since we were the only visitors in the afternoon. I didn't expect to get so close to the animals. However, it’s always ensured that visitors behave respectfully towards the animals. Mzizi was a superb guide who passionately and humorously shared his knowledge. Highly recommended!

This was one of the best sanctuaries i ever visited. The enclosures of the animals are well taken care of and they have a big space. But to be honest what really made our day was talking to the staff there. Our guide was funny but he also knew his facts! Talking to other staff members we soon realised that everyone has put their heart into this sanctuary. It’s inspiring how much love they have for the animals. We talked to them for a long time and they were happy to answer every question.. detailed!! They don’t only care about they’re animals with passion but also make sure the people visiting get the best experience possible. I can recommend this to everyone. No matter if you are a animal lover who looks for a good adventure or if you just happen to pass by. Leaving the sanctuary i felt educated and more aware and that’s exactly how it should be.
They also have a really nice gift shop if you are still looking for a good souvenir :)
Thank you so much for everyone there sharing their knowledge and talking to us. You really made our day!

Excellent tour with an informative and passionate guide. They do great work here - sheltering some animals temporarily while they recover and then releasing them when they're better, and looking after some animals permanently which can't be released for whatever reason. They need support to keep going which means visitors and donations.
This was a super fun day trip. Guides Poena and Tutu were excellent, especially with our kids aged 10 and 12. Perfect blend of adventure, spectacular scenery and no shortage of adrenaline! We will definitely be back next year!

There is no better way to get up close and personal with the exquisite beauty of the Nature's Valley/The Crags area. Our guides, Tabs and King Julian, were professional and friendly and made us feel safe at all times. I love swimming and water sport, and this tour offers abseiling, ziplining into water and cliff jumping all in one. You don't have to be experienced in any of the latter; it was my first time abseiling and both guides were excellent with demonstrating first, and then keeping an eye on every step we took. Wetsuits and all safety gear are supplied, booties are to rent. I'd say if you're afraid of heights, this is not for you. And if not, go, go, go! There is plenty of time in the refreshing river water. I will definitely be back.

Such a great experience if you are looking for an adventure. I would have appreciated something to drink halfway as you get very tired and thirsty. Our tour took 1 hour and we were 9 people. Warren and Puna were both great. The pace of the tour is somewhat fast and you have to keep up, but the guides wait for you. Overall I would highly recommend this. Oh, pack your own shoes that’s got some grip!

Great experience that takes you out of your comfort zone with the best instructors and guides who not only assist you in every way they can but also go at your pace. Ask for Black 1 and King Julian, you will not stop laughing!
Only critique is that the wetsuits should be checked for broken zips and better shoes would be great as the shoes provided had no grip. Gripped waterproof shoes would be better.

Birds of Eden is a free-flight sanctuary that spans over 5 acres and boasts more than 200 bird species. The area is covered by a massive mesh dome, allowing visitors to enjoy self-guided walks while being surrounded by birds in their natural habitat. The wooden walkway takes guests from the root level of tall trees all the way up to the treetops and ceiling of the dome, providing an amazing experience.
What an incredible experience! The well constructed wooden walkway takes one down to almost root level of incredibly tall trees before going back up again to a plateau almost at the level of the tree tops and the ceiling of the dome. Simply amazing! Wheelchair friendly too! Well worth the visit.

Birds of Eden was hands down the highlight of our trip. This Sanctuary is a experience like no other. A huge open air bird cage, and I mean like huge. My wife and I had so much fun walking through the Sanctuary and spotting birds and trying to check off as many birds as we could from our bird identification book. Beautiful indigenous forest with a plethora of beautiful creatures.

I am actually not a big fan of birds, but this place is well done. Beautiful jungle landscape with rivers, waterfalls, lakes, flowers, bridges and walkways under an enormous tent. Pretty birds. Much more natural than just a few birds in a Zoo. Really well worth coming here.
Bruno Catellani — Google review
We took our family through on a rather wet and rainy day. The entrance fee is expensive and a walk through the sanctuary will last around 60 to 90mins. The walkways were great and the natural beauty was fantastic. We say a few species of bird but not as many as you'd expect. The facilities weren't great. The toilets were okay but the cafe was very poor. My daughter's really enjoyed being able to get close to the birds and the adventure of walking through tree tops. Overall very pretty and worth a visit.

My goodness! This aviary is amazing!
We thoroughly enjoyed the time there.
Make sure to buy the identification guide, worth it.
The walk through the aviary was truly amazing. The sound of the different birds was like we were in the forest.
The wooden boards really made it easier to take beautiful pictures of all the different species. We also enjoyed sitting down on the benches along the paths.
Some of the birds are familiar to people and will come up close.
The sanctuaries have combos you can purchase. We purchased a combo and it was definitely worth it.
I will recommend this place to everyone I know.

A wondeful place to visit. Beautiful experience to walk freely between all the birds. An easy walk along the boardwalks. Wheelchair friendly. Just do not waste time to eat at the restaurant inside. Service is very very slow. Used up all our time we wanted to spend with the birds instead. Entrance fee is R350 per person. If you want to do Monkey land as well a combo ticket costs R590 per person. (2023 prices)
Mark Chimes — Google review
A spectacular place to visit! One of the best sanctuaries in South Africa with around 200 bird species freely flying in a very spacious closed aviary about 3 hectares large and up to 60 m high. Though the feeling is that it is larger since the walkway zigzag across the park on different levels.
It is very pleasant just to stroll along the walkways and watch for the birds, or to sit on one of tens of the benches standing here and there. The bird reference guide is available at the entrance for R20, thus it is possible to determine any bird species you encounter. Binocular could be helpful, since the aviary is huge.
There is a nice small restaurant inside with a good choice of dishes with many vegetarian options and very competitive prices.
Vladimir Azov — Google review
The visit was an absolute joy with an astonishing range of exotic birds.
No time pressure so you can get lost in the landscape and walking levels with a new sight at every turn.
The free flight principle is fantastic both for the birds and visitors. Easily worth spending 2 hours absorbing the unique experience.

This is a must do activity in Plettenberg bay. There is a long but manageable walk down and back up the area on wooden walkways. No stairs. There is a suspension bridge to cross but it is easy. So many birds to see, if you don't get the perfect picture straight away, wait, you will see the bird again. Nice coffee shop at end with roosterkoek and other light lunches plus cold beer.

What a beautiful natural habitat, I enjoyed my visit at this place, I highly recommend it for people who want to have a relaxing peaceful time with family.
Listening to the different melodies that the birds made in the morning when they woke up and during the afternoon when they returned to their nests was calming and very extraordinary, I can't even begin to describe the feeling.I believe its a once in a lifetime experience that everyone should try. If you need a weekend getaway just to find peace, this is the place to be, it's great all year round...

What an awesome adventure.
We spent almost 4 hours here, in total awe. I could have stayed for another 4 hours easily.
The birds and the walkways are awesome. Lots of seating allows you to sit and enjoy the sounds.
No touching or feeding of birds is allowed.
The small restaurant at the end was a bit disappointing - the fact that they only took cash meant that we couldn't eat there.
At R350 pp, it seems pricey, but it was worth every cent.
I recommend getting a guidebook (R20) and pen at the start so that you can identify the birds.
Highly recommended.

Monkeyland is a sanctuary offering guided tours to observe free-ranging primates such as capuchin monkeys, lemurs, and gibbons. The knowledgeable and entertaining guides make the experience worthwhile. Visitors are advised to attend feeding times for optimal viewing opportunities but should be cautious of blue vervet monkeys. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not recommended due to poor service from rude and lazy waitresses who prioritize their phones over customers.
Highly recommended tour, that I’d advise not only for children. Very important to apply anti mosquito cream, they will offer you free.
There are 500 hundred monkeys spread over 12 hectors of walking trails (about 10 monkey species)
Also the monkeys have complete freedom around the place but they wont harm you.

Exceeded our expectations massively! The guides are fantastic and we came away with a million facts about the animals and place. Would highly recommend a quick stop if you are passing through - took about 1.5 hours and was well worth it!

Such an awesome experience. We saw 8 of the 9 species of primates. The guides are knowledgeable, experienced and entertaining. Try to go during feeding times.
Beware of the blue vervet monkeys.
(P.s. the restaurant is horrible. Give it a skip. The waitresses are rude and lazy, the "Jane Doe" lemonade is Shwepps, the meat was raw, the food was cold and some people were already finished by the time other's food came. The waitresses are more concerned with their phones. They are dressed inappropriately...

Absolutely love any experience with animals. Do not expect to touch & hold the animals as this is stressful for them & not encouraged in the sanctuary. It was however lovely to watch them wander around freely & we were there close to feeding time to see even more of them.

So impressed! Tour guide VERY knowledgeable. So wonderful to see monkeys running around freely.
They give you free mosquito repellent, put LOTS on. Recommended for all ages. Lovely cafe at beginning/end of tour to grab a snack.

Loved this experience so much. Our guide was well spoken and gave us all the answers to our questions. Very informative with the odd joke.
Park is well maintained and clean. Monkeys are well looked after and spoiled as they say.

Since my last visit, a big change. Experience tour guide, who shared his knowledge with us and we saw all the different monkeys. A must visit, although there is a lot of mosquitoes, it is still worth the visit.

Keep up the great work all these years Laura and me,wife and kids really enjoyed our visit straight out of Capetown and the warm heart welcoming. Thanks to Mr Ralph Savage also for assisting us when we walked in. I love you guys and be safe God Bless

It's ok.. you get to see monkeys in open, it's an experience, if it's raining, don't think of going there, it's waste. You will find only few types visible. Also, it's slippery. If you still want to go, find a spot in sunny day.
Jaymin Dave (Jay) — Google review
It is a very informative place with an amazing variety of monkeys. The guide is excellent, and you really do learn about the animals and their habitat. It's a great place to take the kids. It is an interactive walk, so wear comfortable clothes and do not carry anything loose that the monkeys can snatch from you.

Absolutely brilliant, tour guide was informative, interesting and had a great sense of humour. Lots of monkeys and you are so close to them you could touch them. The monkeys are not in cages and can move around freely as they wish.

A great time spent at Monkeyland! The guides are clearly so passionate about the monkeys. You won’t get this up close and personal with monkeys in many places in a ethical way. A tip, wear mosquito repellent as there are lots! A defiant visit!

Absolutely loved this place, the guide was very informative and chatty. There were so many monkeys and lemurs which would come up close. There were some babies playing together and it was so nice to see.

Magical! We were surrounded by monkeys (and Gibbons and Lemurs) and the guide was excellent. Very much recommended

You'll definitely see a lot of monkeys. The situation in the waiting room was awkward, as we were kind pushed to give more money.
Tour was cool, we learned a lot about the animals and you get close to them (better do not take sunglasses with you).
Price for the tour was okay.

This place is great !
I just wish they would list that you should wear proper footwear, as it's muddy and you will slip in slide in your sandals and such.
Also, put on mosquito repellent, I was in shorts and look like I have been hunted down by every mosquito at the park.
I had been bite free during the Plett holiday 😂.
Our guide Prince was very knowledgeable and made the hour walk feel like 10 Min.
The highlight for my niece and I was were the Gibbons, we were lucky enough to have one have a snack by us and see her walk away which was ADORABLE

Lloyd and his amazing crew provided my boyfriend and I the most magical experience ever. We booked the full day Elephant Keeper for a day program and it did not disappoint. We were able to brush, feed, and walk with the elephants — while all the while, learning everything and anything there is to know about elephants from Lloyd and his amazing crew. The interactions, knowledge and pure magic that we were able to experience is something I know my boyfriend and I will treasure forever. This elephant sanctuary, program and overall experience was well worth the six hour drive from Cape Town to Plettenberg. 10/10 would recommend!!!!

Guides are so friendly, funny, and knowledgeable.
The tour is shorter than I expected it to be and felt a bit rushed.
The overall experience is really lovely. It’s so rare to be able to be this close to elephants. They run off of positive reinforcement with treats.
The gift shop is full on incredible options. Highly recommend picking up a few things here. You will not find this type of work in tourist gift shop places like the airport

What an awesome adventure walking with these giants.
The Elephant Sanctuary cares for elephants that would not survive naturally in the wild. We were able to take photos & video, feed them, walk with them tunk in hand. The guides were fantastic explaining, showing and guiding us around these majestic animals. I can highly recommend the experience, especially for families.

Very careful and lovely treatment of the animals which were calm and had good manners. It’s a great project and rescue place for them. The animals are safe and used to people and it seemed like they enjoyed the contact with the visitors. We went on a „happy Elefant day“ (=rain day) and got coats to walk with the elefants through the forest and got a very lovely experience.

It has always been a dream of mine to be able to hang out with an elephant and experience their majestic nature up close. This place was excellent for that! We booked the brushing experience and walking tour with the elephants first thing in the morning on Tuesday.
Our main guide was so passionate about the elephants and knew the answers to all my questions. I can see how some people may think this is touristy. In fact, a lot of people just come to these places to say they took pictures with an elephant and touched one.
The guides at first seemed like they were just going through the motions with the routine of brushing, teaching, walking the elephants, etc. but once they saw I had a giant elephant tattoo on my forearm and genuinely cared about learning more about the elephants and less about the pictures, they warmed up to me.
The time slot allowed of 1 hour does not allow you to truly connect with an elephant and observe their behavior, however, it does let you interact with an elephant, learn about their anatomy and behavior, connect with wonderful guides and feed them apples.
As an elephant “novice” this place was exactly what I was looking for. If you’ve been to a bunch of elephant sanctuaries, going off other people’s reviews, it may be different than what you’re expecting. But the elephants are healthy, happy and the guides are truly committed to taking care of them (most of the elephant keepers + guides sleep with them every night to protect them from poachers), which to me, is wonderful. And I will remember their passion and the beautiful memories of Thandi, Marula and Jabo forever.

Super friendly staff. The experience is so amazing and the time went by so fast😍they will give you information about the elephants then they will introduce your own elephant to you and their name ,age..etc then you’ll walk with your own elephant and feed him😍also, you can purchase the video they recording to your group at the end. I wish if they provide “elephant ride” experience.

It was such a privilege to interact with these gentle giants. My wife was initially apprehensive but the calm, highly knowledgeable keepers ensured that she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Some conservationists suggest that humans shouldn't interact with elephants because the elephants find it stressful however these 5 beautiful animals clearly welcomed our attention, much in the manner that a pet dog or horse would.

Beautiful and fun place
There are 5 elephants
You can take pictures with the elephants, then touch them, then feed them, and the guide continued explaining them and giving orders.
You can buy the video after the tour and they will send it to you by your email.
There is a shop where you can take a souvenir of the trip.
Every hour and a half there will be a tour if you come and it may start or you will have to wait for the next one

"Please do not go here. They try to pass it off as a sanctuary, but it's just a money-making scheme at the expense of these poor elephants. There are only five elephants on a small patch of land, forced to put on a circus act all day long. Every hour, they're paraded around for tourist photos, one after the other, with their trunks placed in tourists' hands, posing and walking for the cameras. After that they have to pose again for photos with tourists. Than three of them are forced to walk around holding onto eachother's tails just for more photo opportunities and the staff wants the visitors to applaud for this. And this goes on relentlessly, day in and day out. On their confined land, there's not even grass or bushes for them to graze on; they're fed like animals in a zoo. This is no life for them. It's clear these elephants aren't living their best lives - I even doubt if they were genuinely rescued or simply purchased for profit.
We went in expecting to see happy, rescued elephants, but instead, we left feeling sorry for them. Within minutes, it was clear they were being pushed around by the staff. We refused to take part in any more photo sessions after seeing how they were treated.
The staff constantly hound the elephants to perform, and the only time the staff crack a smile is when they're asking for a big tip at the end of the hour."

Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary is a wildlife center that specializes in African snakes and other reptiles. It provides guided tours and educational programs for visitors to interact with these animals, including the opportunity to hold snakes and pet a monitor lizard. The tour lasts around an hour, during which visitors can learn about each of the animals up close. In addition, there are crocodiles on site, making it a unique experience for nature enthusiasts.
Amazing. We loved every second of the guided tour. They explain so much and there's a lot you can learn. They have a lot of different snakes to see which makes it even more worthwhile. Would 100% recommend.

What a great experience! Snakes have always been very scary to me, but after this educational and fun experience, I feel like I understand them much better now, and I’m less afraid. There are really a lot of different types of snakes to see here. Our guide (his name is Ken), was amazing: He was funny, charismatic and very smart. He gave us a lot of information, but it never got boring. We learned a lot of interesting things, and we asked lots of questions, which were all answered very well. At first I was very scared to touch a snake, but in the end it was a lot of fun. Before we went, I thought that it was maybe a bit expensive, but after going, I can definitely say that it is worth the money. I would definitely recommend going here. I also think children would love it.

Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary is a sanctuary for large cats such as leopards, jaguars and Bengal tigers. The sanctuary operates on a no-touch, no-breed policy. Visitors are advised to bring water with them as it can get hot. Some of the animals were hiding in their shelters or in the shade during the visit but became active during feeding time at 3pm. The tour lasted about an hour and visitors can purchase gifts and enjoy coffee, food and snacks at the restaurant.
The most incredible experience seeing these beautiful creatures up close.
The guide was knowledgeable and kind. It was such a pleasant tour as the gentleman shared stories about each rescued animal with our family.

I am a fan of seeing animals in an open environment or close range. Both of such experiences were not available here. The reason is, this is the shelter of rescued animals. These are wild beings who were kept captive since birth.. you get to see and know a few things with the help of a guide, but doesn't not feel adventurous while visiting this place.

It was amazing to see these animals. We were there just before feeding time and the big cats was walking up and down the fence. It was exhilarating to hear the roars of the big cats. One doesn't realise how big these animals truly are. The animals are well fed and looked after.
There are information boards at each cage, some of the animals are under veterinary supervision.
There is an option to take a guide with you.
They are also busy with upgrades and there are a few figures coming to the sanctuary in July.

We were a bit disappointed not being able to see much. When we got half way a friendly man working there must of seen our disappointed in the scorching heat and said its best to come during feeding times as the animals anticipate meal times and come out waiting for their food. That was kind, but also a bit late to tell us. That info would of been appreciated at Reception where we paid close to R1000. Other than that I can understand the cost because of the upkeep of the grounds and the feeding of the animals.

A good walk with a friendly and very informative tour guide (Hayden). This type of sanctuary is not uncommon and is needed in today's world. They're doing good work here at Jukani. If you feel uncomfortable (or triggered, to use a better word), speak to your tour guide about the animals. Ask him/her where the animal came from. While the park is small, it is certainly not a tourist trap and it is certainly not expensive. From someone who has been to many zoos, reserves and sanctuaries, what stood out for me was the knowledgable tour guide; I learnt quite a bit from him. If you're in the area, it's not a bad way to spend about 90 minutes.

After a couple of days in the local area, we popped into Jukani and joined a guided tour for a look around this wonderful wildlife sanctuary. Our guide Elvis was fabulous. He took us around, enclosure by enclosure helping us to locate and observe each animal, telling us all about them. It was incredibly interesting, and sometimes sad to know why the animals were there, but it's clear to see they are receiving the very best care in as natural environment as it's possible to keep them. We are huge animal lovers, esp big cats, and often visit zoos back in the UK as it's the only way to see these wonderful animals. However, Jukani doesn't feel like a zoo. Elvis is very passionate about the animals, and the respect he has for them is clear to see. It was a wonderful experience, and we would love to go back, and to visit the sister parks someday. Also, the gift shop was fabulous. We bought t-shirts and all our holiday gifts there, lovely selection. Thanks, keep doing what you're doing!
