Nice place to chill after sea lions diving! Must stop for a quick visit (stayed there around 1 1/2 hours) and the views are spectacular. Believe you should book a ride to take you there, as it does not have direct access from the Espirito Santo Island

An incredible beach to visit, even thought it is quite hard to get there since the only way to visit the beach is by boat, but after all, it is still a must of you are in La Paz, the beach is just as beautiful as Balandra which means an stunning view and maybe one of the most beautiful beaches you would ever see!.

Beautiful beach we stopped and had lunch at after snorkeling with sea lions. Great spot for swimming and snorkeling 🤿

Beautiful secluded beach with crystal clear water. This beqch is unreal and something from a resort magazine.

Only reachable by boat, (which makes sense since it's on an island) but the water is crystal clear and warm! It's beautiful!

Isla espiritu santo was definitely worth it. Great snorkeling and the contrast between the desert and subtropical waters was an interesting twist.

Very beautiful beach. Water is very clear. Be careful of rays so shuffle your feet in the water.
The most beautiful beach. Volunteers were very nice and friendly. Was so awesome seeing the turtles released and whales jumping in the background! Thanks for all your hard work.

What a wonderful experience to be a part of.
Our family will never forget!
These folks were helping to release baby tortugas into the ocean.
Just after sunset we were able to take part in the release of 90 newly hatched turtles. They protect them from predators until they are ready for release.
They simply ask for a donation if you participate to provide necessities for the task.
There were around 100 people the night we went.
Adam Vengroff — Google review
Not easy to find. Quiet and empty. Great place to picnic and sun bathe. The rip tide is wicked, so not really a swimming or surf beach. I took a dip to cool off and got pounded into the sand by waves. Exciting for an adult in a "I'm in danger" sorta way, but would not recommend for kids.
Jesse Larsen — Google review
This is experience was amazing. As we waited for sunset, whales went up and down the coastline spouting. Many even breached further offshore! Watching the tiny Olive Ridley turtles fight the waves to make it into the ocean was incredible.

Our experience at Tortugueros Las Playitas A.C. was absolutely enchanting. Releasing baby turtles at sunset was truly a magical moment that my companions and I will cherish forever. If you ever have the opportunity, don't hesitate to immerse yourself in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The staff were knowledgeable and passionate, adding depth to our adventure. Highly recommended for nature enthusiasts and those seeking unforgettable memories.

Great beach for surfing. There are no services available it isn't for swimming.
Victor Rosas — Google review
I would recommend this bucketlist activity.
As you park and walk out to the ocean, you'll see a fenced-in tent where the turtle eggs are in process of hatching.
Usually, every evening at sunset, they release the baby turtles that were born that day.
They set out several tubs with baby turtles and answer questions about the conservation efforts to help build the overall population. As there are several tubs, all should have an opportunity to take pics/vids up close.
When the time comes, they carry the tubs to the ocean sand and set them free for the waves to carry them out.
While waiting, we watched the large crashing ways and whale spouts while the sun sets.
Very beautiful.
Scott Adair — Google review
They didn't release the turtles the night we went for a few reasons, but it was still great!! They brought some of them out in little tubs for us to see and it was awesome! That beach was beautiful with the sunset! Definitely going back!!
Carpenter Shenanigans — Google review
If you are thinking that you will have the opportunity to touch or at least have some interaction with the little turtles, forget it, you will only be able to admire how the camp managers carry out the release. Enjoy the great sunset and the great atmosphere in 30-40 minutes, that's all.
Alejandro Olivares — Google review
Access down International road is fine in a car without 4x4.
Great experience for all ages.
Keep an eye on the horizon, for whales and pelicans.
Make sure you leave a donation, the money helps ensure the volunteers aren't too out of pocket.

After reading and hearing so many bad things I was nervous. But it was a great trip and easy experience. No you don't need a title, your current registration will be fine for your vehicle. You do the paperwork at the port
Steven McEvoy — Google review
I have travelled about 4 times on the ferry. I then gave it 4 stars. On my last trip I gave it 3. Quality has gone down. My cabin was run down, it even had lice on the bed. Also chaotic getting in and out of the boat. It's not a very well managed operation, in my mind. More industrial focused than hospitality focused.
Jose Javier Marsal Gil — Google review
Got off our cruise ship and caught a taxi into La Paz. About a 20 to 25 minute ride. We were in a van with 10 people at $5 per person. For a couple of dollars more, you can take cab for four people. I advise you take the cab. There is also a free shuttle but you could end up wasting time waiting for it to arrive. If you are on a tight schedule, take a cab!
Jack Lazard — Google review
This is primarily a truck ferry, don’t expect a cruise ship. Get a cabin so you aren’t sleeping the floor with hundreds of others. It is just a few dollars more. Food provided but very Mexican basic. Bar service available. Our trip was smooth and on time
Colin Harris — Google review
I bought my tickets at the office in La Paz which greatly simplified the port experience. There was a thorough but friendly search of the car before boarding, an unexpected 210 peso fee at the weigh station (it's legit, receipt and all). You can't access your vehicle during the trip so take anything you need with you. There's a cafeteria with surprisingly low rates (unlike onboard a plane), a bar, seating akin to economy flights but with plenty of leg room, and an outside observation area. If you have trouble sleeping on planes I'd recommend trying to get a cabin.
Michael Evershed — Google review
Awesome place the very had few places to plug in your phone but other than that comfortable ride
Man with no destination Vegas — Google review
The trip is just way too long and very uncomforfotable . From Los Mochis aa the ticket said i began heading to the port around 9:00 pm
It is about 30 minutes to get there and there is some walking too , your luggage has to be check before 11:00 pm , the Ferri sails at 12:00
The seat are ok and do recline but the lights remain on for the entire trip , you WON"T be able to sleep .
The docking was at 8:00 am but you will begin disembarking at least an hour later , but it is very slow , so i got my bag around 10:00 am .
Exhausted , hungry , sleepless ,
Bathrooms are very small for the amount of passengers , the whole boat smell terrible .
Do whatever possible to not have to go this way , if you have to then , look for the cabins , no matter the price it will be worth it
:(

Isla del Espiritu Santo is a picturesque island renowned for its secluded beaches, impressive rock formations, and extensive hiking trails. The island offers excellent camping facilities for those who wish to stay longer and explore more of its natural beauty. With its striking landscapes and remote location, Isla del Espiritu Santo promises an unforgettable experience for all nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
5/5 amazing experience. We secured our tickets by going to the Malecon early in the morning. Got breakfast in the meantime. The trip is so beautiful & peaceful.
Some people even do glamping on the island. You get to snorkel in certain areas of the island.
I would recommend taking a jacket. Also, get the appropriate sunscreen to not damage the coral.

WOW...this whole area is just awesome..!! We had an opportunity to snorkel in the area, but we were restricted from climbing on the rock formations. There were coral in the area that were restricted and protected from placing a foot on it or near any of it. Even with all of the various restrictions, we still enjoyed as much of the snorkeling and exploring around the rock formations and coral in the area. We saw many varieties of fish and birds and several other unidentified life that was really great to see and explore. Kinda made us feel like we were the first to see it all! LoL
Isla Espiritu Santo is a nature preserve area for snorkeling, swimming, and hanging out on the beach. We saw a variety of the local sea life including manta rays, schools of fish jumping out of the water, various kinds of tropical fish, the sea lion pups and adults. The area is best explored with a knowledgeable local or a knowledgeable tour guide who can answer any questions about the area or the licenses needed while in the area visiting. There were a many people in the area visiting with their own boats and docked in the area open water and adjacent to the land to get to the shores to enjoy the beaches or have a nice picnic under the their shade tent under the sun. The area was just awesome.

Baja California Sur, Mexico
I'll never travel to Mazatlan without this trip planner again
The La Paz cathedral is a large, ornate church with a simple facade. It's popular for religious events, and features beautiful baroque altar pieces.
Gorgeous classical interior that “Wows”
any visitor of the historical architecture and it’s magnificent beauty. I am in total awe attending Mass every Sunday and frequent daily visits. Having relocated from Santa Rosa, California to La Paz recently, I am truly blessed that the Cathedral is only 10 mins walk from my apartment. Originally I am from a small island in the South Pacific called Rotuma. My parents moved to Fiji when I was (7) years old. Mass in the Cathedral is always full, and although am learning Spanish the singing is beautiful. A must see place when visiting La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico 🇲🇽. Thank you to the past and present parishioners for the ongoing maintenance and restoration of the cathedral. May God Bless Each And Everyone For Their Contributions and Commitment 💖🙏

Scenic, white-sand shoreline with clear, sheltered waters & a backdrop of low-lying hills.
Incredibly beautiful and peaceful since only a limited number of people are allowed in at a time. We arrived on a Sunday at 11:20 am for the 12:00 pm entry. There were 12 cars ahead of us and about 40 behind us. Most people gravitated to mushroom rock but we decided to cross the entire bay to another beach. We were alone and saw a green eel, several fish, and a beautiful heron. There is a small arch across the bay as well. I hope to return some day and highly recommend it. Shuffle your feet. We saw two sting rays.

Nice beach, good to spend a quiet time.
The water is not deep and you can walk for a long time without sinking. You have to wear beach shoes because there are stones and they can hurt your feet.
Entrance is in shifts in the morning or afternoon, there are free palapas to settle in but you have to arrive early to grab one.

Beautiful and unique beach. Very shallow. You can walk out a far distance with the water only to your knees. We arrived at 12:45pm on a Friday and we got in just fine. You have to pay a small tip to use the bathroom. The beach is clean. Please bring your own umbrellas, water, food etc. because nothing is there besides sand, rock and water which is gorgeous.

They only take 3 different times a day, first is between 8-11/11-2/2-5.
I drove there as early as 0745 and there already was a big line but no biggie it was quick to get in,not sure what the others were saying but it was totally free, but they'll only give you 3 hours.
At 8 the water was a bit cold and windy by 9 it turned out just like the ones in the pictures The clear turquoise color was very beautiful.
It's so shallow that you can walk from.one side to another and see fishes down below.
It was just beautiful,i enjoyed every bit of it.

Arrive early if you want a great spot. We arrived at 0645 and were pretty deep in the line already. Make sure you bring your cooler and some cold drinks. Otherwise it was a great experience. Lots of puffer fish and small schools of other fish. My wife and I really enjoyed our time there.

Beautiful knee deep water over a huge expanse. Well worth an early morning visit or wait until mid-afternoon. It's a protected park with limited services, kayak rental, a few SUPs. Pack out your own trash, pay small fee for porta potties. Some palapas (thatched umbrellas) if you get there early. Nice hike to the upper saddle ridge and if the tide is right you can access the beaches around the point. No charge to access.

One of the best beach I have been to, the water is crystal clear. The beach is up to knee height so you can walk out for a bit. The water is very refreshing even in November. There are a few umbrellas but it’s first come first serve. Some can be rented but not really worth it. There is no restaurant and 1 toilet so be prepared. We brought our own snack and spent about 5 hours here relaxing.

Beautiful. This beach is surrounded by rock formations and only goes up to your waist.. there are a few cabanas to lounge under, so go early. The have 2 entry times, 8am or 1 pm.. they only allow 400 people in at a time. You have to wait a in line of cars. They do not sell food or anything, as this is a national park. You can bring your own though. It's quiet and relaxing and breathtakingly beautiful!

Balandra beach is one of the most beautiful beaches i've ever seen before.
Water is clearly and blue, level is low so you can walk to much into it.
You can see different fishes.
You take your food and drinks because into the beach the are not stores and also take a parasol.
The beach has schedules so first investigate which are ones, I went to the 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

No Vayan!

Do not go! I will give you my transparent opinion. We went today, Saturday, April 20, 2024, they picked us up at the hotel located in San José del Cabo at 4am (4 in the morning) super early. After a tiring and long road of about 3 hours, we arrived at PLAYA BALANDRA. The travel agency with which we contracted the tour already has control bracelets issued by the government to be able to enter, what we know is that only 400 people are allowed to enter BALANDRA beach per shift and there are only two shifts a day. Before arriving they rent you an umbrella ⛱️ and two chairs for 300 pesos, and here the problems begin, since it is early, for some reason there is a lot of air, and it is a problem that your umbrella flies with the wind, and for two hours We were there, the VDD is that you cannot get comfortable on the beach because of the excess wind and the water is very cold. The beach is beautiful and the view is great...
But going to take a photo in the mushroom and seeing the beach doesn't seem worth it to me for so much time you spend getting there and not being able to swim comfortably. It is better for your time to go to other beaches where you can arrive more peacefully and enjoy more with less wind and more sunshine.

YOU MUST VISIT!! It’s absolutely gorgeous the sand is so soft and the water is clear and warm. They have two visiting windows 8-12 and 1-5. Afternoon is packed and there is a long line to get in. Stellar spot! Great views. They restrict you to certain times. We arrived at 8:30am and had to leave by 12 noon. And they are sure to kick you out. Police use their sirens to make sure you leave and officials there literally kick you out. We ran a couple minutes behind and they told us to just throw our stuff in the van and clean it later. Its definitely a spot to check out.

Wow, Playa Balandra in La Paz, Baja California Sur is absolutely breathtaking! I've never seen such stunning scenery anywhere else. But I gotta admit, getting there isn't the easiest, mainly because the locals aren't always clear on how things work, or maybe they're just keeping it quiet – not sure.
Here's what I found out from my visit in March 2024:
1. You'll need your own wheels to get to the beach. Taxis can take you there, but getting back might be tricky unless you've arranged something with the driver.
2. Since it's a protected area, they only let in 400 people during two time slots: early morning from around 7-8 am until noon, and then from 1 pm to 4 pm. But be warned, there's usually a long line of cars before each slot, so it's best to arrive early to secure your spot.
3. And here's the kicker – there are no facilities at the beach, so make sure to bring your own drinks and snacks. Plus, remember to take all your trash with you when you leave.
4. While you're waiting, you can rent chairs and umbrellas from vendors, although I didn't bother.
5. There are only a couple of porta-potties near the parking lot, so plan accordingly.
6. Oh, and don't count on any cell service while you're there.
Despite the hassle, the natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere of Playa Balandra make it totally worth the trip!

The beach is known for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings, perfect for those looking to relax and unwind. Visitors can also enjoy various water activities such as snorkeling and kayaking in the calm waters of Playa Pichilingue.
Punta Lobos is a serene coastal area featuring large boulders and strong waves, making it a popular spot for swimming, surfing and fishing. Visitors are encouraged to support the local fishermen's cooperative by purchasing freshly caught fish directly from their boats in the early to mid-afternoon. The beach is accessible and has a beautiful cove, with sea lions and whales often spotted in the vicinity. It is one of the safest places along this stretch of the Pacific coast for swimming.
Beautiful beach! However we went on December and you cannot shower there...the waves were very high. As a sightseeing is beautiful tough.

Not sure about that last persons post. The beach is accessible, and a beautiful cove. Been there twice. Freshest and tastiest fish youll find in baja.

If you go to todos Santos, you can make a quick stop here, the truth is, it’s a place to go for a walk, see the sea and enjoy, the sea is very strong, so it is risky to go swimming, there were many boats leaving to fish and there is a resort in the area, but you can park, walk up the hill and admire the view, not to much to do but it’s relaxing.
Paulina Pedrero Miranda — Google review
PLEASE support the fishermen's cooperative here. Buy fish fresh off the boat when the pangueros come in, in the early/mid-afternoon. They are holding out against encroaching boutique development. I see where people say there are 2 zip lines but I didn’t see any staff or signs for it (I went on a Monday at 10am) so maybe they’re closed Monday’s. I would have sat at the beach in the shade (there were also chairs/tables for rent), but I saw a lot of ants in the sand so I decided against it.
I’m not a beach person but between all the stairs/ramps/pier/restaurants there was a lot to walk around and explore. There’s also a bike path and sidewalk that goes along the road/rock wall that was shaded for part of the morning. There’s benches to sit on along the way too.

Lovely beach, very close to El Paz. They have umbrella/table/chair rentals for about 10 USD/hour when I visited in 2023, and there is table service for food and drinks. The water is crystal clear, warm, and calm.

Pretty calm ocean, sand is soft. There are restaurants and bars with servers that come down to the beach and offer chairs (plastic chairs, not lounge chairs) and tables if eating. Ignore the big container ships in the distance.

Great beach close to the town. Free parking and bathrooms. More shade than many of the other local beaches. Calm clear water suitable for swimming

Stumbled on this place exploring La Paz from Todos Santos. It is a Tuesday 2/23, beautiful sunny day temp around 75, very light breeze. Easy parking, no crowds. Locals seem to like this spot. Couples and families here. They offer umbrellas, chairs and tables. Ordered some civiche and guacamole, large portions and so delicious. The big bottles of Pacifico seem to be a bit here. Very friendly staff, not much English but that was no problem. A pleasant mix of music from people's radios. The water is very clear and calm, and warmer than the pacific side. All in all a great place to relax for the afternoon.
Fantastic warm beach. Great spot to boogie board and surf. Incredible vista!

Great surfing year round. The restaurant pictured burned down last week
Water is usually warm and no wetsuit is required
Very safe to visit here and nearby towns of Pescadero and Todos Santos.

Good kid beach. Sometimes good waves. Hasn't been developed well and the "Beach Club" is horrible and a narco front. Illegal for a Mexican place to block off a beach but they het away with it.

First trip there. Good surf. Very different than Medano beach! Nice restaurant/bar on the beach. Plenty of chair and equipment rentals. Cheap massages on the beach! Easy access off the highway. Several dirt roads lead in. No problem in any car.

El Triunfo Piano Museum
Museum
Specialty Museums
This museum has pianos and other instruments from the heyday of El Triunfo, what a gem to have them preserved. No bells and whistles and the modest entrance donation is commensurate.

This small place, (Ruta de Plato Museum) is great for learning more about the history of the BCS region and the mining industry. Start with a short video and progress through two rooms with lots of artifacts, photos and stories.
Bettina Bair — Google review
I actually drove out to this town specifically to check out this museum as I usually love tiny specialized museums like this. However. In reality, it is about two dozen ramshackle, pianos and organs most appear to be 1960s through 80s in a dark and moldy building. I found nothing of interest, and was really sad about it.
Anna Vail — Google review
If you're into history or music, you've got to stop here. This is a small museum with mainly pianos, some as old as 1850. All were donated by different families. There are a few old photographs of some of the original owners of the pianos. There is a concert room where guest pianists come to perform, but that was prepandemic. They ask for a $1 donation. Which is nothing. On a beautiful historic street.
Ruth Rodriguez — Google review
It is very small but to see the old pianos and other musical instruments was quite beautiful. There is also a cowboy museum within walking distance which is also very interesting!!

I kite surfed for a week with Jose and the Nomad Kitesurf team. Can’t recommend them highly enough! The whole team were very friendly, passionate and knowledgeable about kite surfing, and really helpful. I had a wonderful time and can’t wait to hit the wind and the waves with them again. Markos was my teacher and he is top-notch - awesome kite surfer and knows how to pass on his wealth of knowledge in a positive, constructive, safe and above all fun way

After taking 6 lessons with Nomad, I highly recommended them - they are wonderful!
Competent and compassionate crew which I found helpful given learning kiteboarding is a bit of a rite of passage. English is solid.
I was with Fernando and Guillermo, and both were top notch. Was as follows for me: day 1 beach kite skills, day 2 body dragging, day 3 dragging with board, day 4 standing up. 5/6 were more practice.
Feeling grateful to have had this crew help me gain skill in a beautiful and crazy sport I’ll use for the rest of my life.

I did a week rental with some lessons mixed in. The gear was in perfect condition, and I could swap out for the right size as needed, which made my buddies who brought their gear a little jealous since I didn't need to lug anything around.
Jose is a master, as we're both of my instructors. It's pretty wild just to watch them make something so complicated look so damn easy, but they are able to break it down and teach it very effectively. By the end of the week I was super comfortable. Jose made the whole thing super easy. The price is well worth it.. Would highly recommend.

Amazing kitesurf school, wonderful service, and super spot. José and Jessica take very very good care of their clients and go the extra mile to make your experience unforgettable. First class equipment and instructors, professional while easy going, don’t miss the opportunity to go and enjoy!

As a new kite surfer, starting the sport at age 70, I had a great experience with Nomad. The location is perfect for beginners and Jose and his team were exceptional, Jose went over and above all expectations. I highly recommend Nomad!

My whole family loves NOMAD. My wife and two girls have had lessons over the past 4 years with Jose and the team at Nomad. My 12 yo is up and riding and transitioning and my wife and I took some foil lessons this season. Nomad is situated on the best beach in LV and we have had nothing but amazing experiences. Can't wait for year 5 in December.

JOSE and his team ROCK. Not only are the instructors top notch but the whole set up at the school is so awesome. Good beats, friendly staff... you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back, Chrismas 2022 can't come soon enough.

Two thumbs way up! A great school to help you develop your kiting skills.
I was able to do 3 lessons with Nomad in January, 2023. While I am new to the sport, the instruction
from Mina was excellent, extremely patient, encouraging and relevant to my (lack of)skill level. Many helpful tips were provided that aren't mentioned in the videos. I wish I had found this school a day earlier as each day I was able to make incremental progress.
Jose runs the place and is very upbeat. He provides a nice vibe for the whole school and is a great resource for tips on restaurants and other activities in the area. Even if you don't take kiting lessons, you can probably come by to pet the dog.
Also, their beach setup greatly surpasses anything else I saw on any of the beaches in La Ventana. They have a very large and accommodating shade area providing a nice break from the sun.
In addition, the location is great with tons of sandy beach devoid of rocks found in other launch area.
I would recommend their lessons without hesitation.

I had an amazing experience at the kite school in La Ventana with José! The service was exceptional, the North kites were top-notch, and the atmosphere was filled with smiles. Highly recommend!!! :)
Marco Scarpella — Google review
This place is amazing. The spot is very spacious, with plenty of space for chilling in between kite sessions, a few steps away from very cool bars and ice cream shops right on the beach. The service is superb, Jose ensured at all times that you have a great experience, and so does the team who are very well trained and professional. I would definately recommend Nomad to anyone that want to either take kite lessons or rent the gear to kite. I went by myself and had a wonderful time.
Rafa Ortiz — Google review
Absolutely love the kite school! Jose is professional and kind, knew exactly how to support me as I was starting as a semi-beginner with kiting. The school is located in Paradise. My teacher Marc was patient, technical and helped me progress to be able to ride left and right. I feel more confident with kitesurfing. I highly recommend Jose and his team!
Roopan Gill — Google review
Fantastic experience and kite school. Jose and team went the extra mile to make it easy for me and to welcome me to La Ventana where to go and to meet other students and travellers. My instructor (Basilio) was brilliant, he took me from being a beginner to being independent, renting my own kit. Instruction was clear and went at my pace and by the end was having a brilliant time carving around on my own 3-4 hours at a time.
10/10, am already planning a trip back.
Guy Evans — Google review
You are in good hands: Jose and team can take care of everything you need: from planning the trip to delivering excellent kiting or foiling learning experience, including being transparent on weather and wind forecast and finding alternate activities if need be as well as discovering great place to eat nearby. From practical and safety standpoints nomad kite school is very well organized. Good people, good equipment, good learning practices, there is nothing to worry about. Prices are in line with local competition. The quality of service and the attention of the team is second to none. On a side note la Ventana is a fantastic kite spot, probably the most beautiful in North America (ahead of Yucatan and Caribbean).
Jean-Marie Rousset — Google review
It was a pleasure learning to kite with Jose, Jorge and the whole Nomad team. It was my first time in La Ventana, and Jose the owner made sure every part of my trip was amazing. Anything that I needed he found a way to help me with. He and his wife picked me up and dropped me off at the airport, he got me a room to rent for a discounted rate, he picked me up each day for lessons since I didn’t have a car, he put me in touch with a local fisherman for whale watching, recommended a place to bike and even invited me for dinner by him one night. Jose made sure everything I needed would be taken care of.
And last but not least, in only a few days I learned all the safety protocols, great kite control, got up on the board and started enjoying kite surfing - a sport I’d been wanting to do for years. My instructor Jorge was awesome, he’s great at the sport, he’s a good teacher - very positive and encouraging, and a great guy to spend time with chatting during classes on the beach and joking with on the radio helmets while I practiced or he demoed. Jorge’s goal was for me to enjoy and feel satisfied - and he and the whole team succeeded with flying colors.
I highly recommend La Ventana and Nomad. I left wishing I could stay longer, hooked on kiting and on La Ventana.

We went to see what it was like today to see if I could do it. I have medical issues that affect my legs. But I did it. We went down to the first pool. Then we started to make our way to the top pool but by that time my legs couldn't do anymore. It was beautiful. It was a bit of a tough hike for me but it was totally worth it. For healthy active people you should have no problem. The pool and waterfall were amazingly stunning. I highly recommend it. Go slow, take your time, take water and wear proper footwear for a hike.

We stayed 2 nights of our one week vacation and wished we had more time. The farm to table food was simple and really good, the room was nice and the canyon awesome to explore and swim. Kid friendly!
Cindy Kozak — Google review
This place is totally beautiful and amazing. I would highly recommend staying the night as it's lovely and peaceful and you'll likely get the waterfalls to yourself in the evening or morning (they were getting very crowded when we left late morning). I took one star off because the hotel experience was pretty confusing and we had no idea if we were going to be served dinner or breakfast even though I had messaged them several times to make a reservation. We also hadn't realized how easy it would be to pick up supplies and groceries in Santiago (an easy 20 min. drive). Dinner was a costly $13/each and it would have been fun to cook a nice dinner in the cute kitchen. They have basic supplies (couple pans, one small pot, 3 place settings). They ended up offering us dinner I think because they had extra ingredients, but not breakfast. I'm honestly still confused about it because I tried to reserve meals several times. But basically you should email/call/facebook them to see if anyone responds. Or, easier, just book the hotel online and bring your own food so you don't have to worry about it. They have a couple coolers in each cabin and you can buy big bags of ice (and beers, water, basic groceries, snacks etc) in the little grocery stores in Santiago. The waterfall is AMAZING and I could happily stay here for a week. The cabin is cute and basic. Awesome rooftop for stargazing, yoga, coffee, etc. Hummingbirds and bees everywhere. Trail is very easy and you can explore other areas around the falls. Our 5 year old loved it. I will definitely be back.

Very rustic. Beautiful views. My only negative experience was we were excited to try the restaraunt. It was closed unfortunately and food into town is about 30min away.

We only stayed for one night, but it felt like a lot longer. We arrived around noon and we were able to check in early (its the off-season so I think we were one of two groups of people staying). The double-building structures are amazing - we could totally seeing ourselves coming with more sundries and charcoal for the little grill and staying for a few days. The waterfall was incredible and we kept cool in the pools until the sun settled a bit. The bedroom was VERY hot (in June), but we had a beautiful evening of stargazing on the rooftop terrace with a gentle breeze. We were comfortable and enraptured by the quiet beauty of the desert. Lastly, the family that runs the kitchen was amazing - honestly, some of the best homemade pizza we've had. Mercedes and her husband are kind, generous and had great tips for the next leg of our trip to La Paz (thanks, Mercedes, Tatanka was AMAZING!), and we just loved the family vibes with their kids eating breakfast with us (after an early morning magical trip to Santa Rita hot springs) and the dogs joining us for the evening on the roof. Super cool place, definitely stay instead of just doing a day trip.

This place was 1st stop in our road trip in Baja and it was beautiful and surreal. Maybe because we were there during the week, but we hardly ran into people in our hikes to near by water fall and drive to near by thermal bath. Our cabin was very clean and insect free (surprisingly for the area), it was piece of luxury in a beautiful setting with a very basic kitchen that allowed us to prep simple food. We only stayed overnight but we definitely could have stayed another night as the king sized bed was very comfortable 😍. Would love to stay next time and try the restaurant food that another guest (didn’t even run into them til check out) raved about. P.S. the white kitty 🐈⬛ in the property is a sweetheart 😍, best welcome host😝

Wonderful waterfall and wonderful accommodations! When you reserve a cabana it is actually two buildings, one with a kitchen and another with a bedroom and bathroom. Although the bedroom sleeps two, there's room for two more to sleep on seating in the kitchen area that doubles as twin size beds. No matter how you book, be sure to contact them directly to confirm your booking.
However, it is almost impossible to get a meal at the restaurant here. They said that they do not keep much fresh food on hand due to needing to run their refrigeration on solar power -- but of course there are plenty of non-perishable foods like rice and dried beans that they could store and serve in abundance without need for refrigeration, if they wanted to! We were refused dinner the evening of our arrival because we did not know that we should have arranged it in advance, but the chef promised us breakfast the next morning. Then, at breakfast time, they again tried to refuse to serve us, same story: they said that we should have arranged it ahead of time. By then we were quite hungry, having already missed dinner, and they agreed to make us some eggs only after we reminded them that we already had been refused dinner and that they had promised breakfast instead.
Other than the absolutely terrible service at the restaurant, this is a wonderful place! Be sure to try the fresh orange juice.

Wonderful place! Right next to an adorable farm with goats, donkeys and even peacocks :)
Day trips to the waterfall (10min)

Rooms were solid brick and extremely clean!
Driving there could be tricky because of the sandy roads, no roaming internet but they gave wifi on the premises.

Stayed one night here and visited the cascades twice. The cabins are minimalistic and rustic, but beautifully built and very well maintained. There are lights and outlets, but no other appliances.
Check ahead to see if dinner or breakfast will be available. If not, all cabins have basic kitchens (burner, skillet, sink, but no fridge) that can be used to prepare a meal.
Beautiful place, and a great experience to be out in the countryside.
Elyse Appelgate — Google review
Such a lovely ranch! The rooms are big and well kept. Separate building with kitchen (private to each room) is fairly well-stacked for basic cooking. Two burners, couple cast iron pans, no fridge. Table and settings for 4.
Bed was firm, lots of candles in the room which was lovely. Good warm water with great pressure. Don't keep food in the bedroom as we had a mouse visitor during the night.
Path down to the waterfalls is steep but well done. Pizzas were amazing!! Salad and drink was great too with super friendly restaurant service.
Adam Knight — Google review
Great place but service just ok. Stayed 2 nights. Didn’t feel like we had a host, connection . Food great but expensive; more than we pay in home country. Loved animals and Tomasul the dog! And the waterfalls. Lots of rules on food, alcohol, etc to not be brought into this park to keep safe and clean; but no enforcement.
I am told that it’s a “thing” to price for tourists but there is such a thing as pricing yourself out of the market . This seems to be happening in Mx in general. I think the country, and restaurants will lose many of their prized US and Canadian visitors.

Not real easy to find, but not impossible. Google maps will torque you up if you miss a turn anywhere. Great drive though, and the river is awesome. Gin clear fresh water. Not a place for people who have any difficulty walking, very steep walk in and out.

Nice stay. We spent two nights here. Accommodation was over our expectation, we really liked wooden design in room, candles and atmosphere. Also terrase with great view was amazing. The road from Santiago was quite bumpy (it is not paved) but we were able to manage it cautiously with our very small car with low ground clearance.
Nature around is beautiful, I can recomend hike to canon de la Zorra (around 3.5 km trail out and back)

Had a good time with Egardo doing day trips. We did 4 days/3 nights and never tired of going to and swimming in new pools. We plan to return and do the 5 day hike eventually.

100% recommended - but make sure you know all contact details in advance!
We did the 2 days / 1 night tour which included:
- 1st day: Drive to the canyon, Hiking down to the river, swimming, small picknick,
hike back and drive to the campsite (basecamp), set up tent, dinner and campfire, some margaritas and great sleep
- 2nd day: Leaving campsite, breakfast & back to the location in the valley, pick up other participants, drive to the hot springs, plenty of swimming and some hiking around there with some picknick
As we had some time in the afternoon before our bis came, we even did some additional kayaking on the lagoon (calm & perfect for some birdwatching)
We really loved the spirit, smoothies, homecooked food and all the explanations by our guide Siegfrido!
Why we only give 4 stars: After discussing all details incl. pickup from the ADO bus station with Eduardo, we could not reach him anymore since the day before arrival. After two hours of waiting at the bus stop Eduardos wife luckily came to pick us up, as she read an email that we sent. I turned out that Eduardo (and his cellphone with his Whatsapp) were on a trip in the mountains without reception. To save you from potential lack of communication in Eduardos team, better make sure that you have multiple contacts and their numbers - to not end up in a similar hick-up ;)
Still - a definite recommendation! The wait at the bus station was quickly forgotten!!!

My boyfriend and I took a day trip with E in late January and couldn’t have been happier with our experience! Edgardo is very knowledgeable about the area and enjoyable to spend the day with. He picked out the best excursion for us after we described our interests and abilities. We were blown away by the hike down into a through a canyon, the bouldering over rocks, swimming in the most picturesque (and deserted) natural granite pools. We biked on the way back and felt we got our fill of physical activity and adventure. Back at the starting point, E made us mango margaritas with mango from the garden there. This day was the highlight of our Baja California road trip!

My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time with Edgardo. The whole day with him was so much fun. Since the hot springs was full due to covid, and he showed us a beautiful local waterfall hike with lots of bouldering and diving off rocks. He was extremely careful about covid and took all necessary procations to make us feel safe. In the afternoon, he recommended us another local hike to explore by ourselves which was beautiful as well. The best part of the trip was definitely Edgardo’s sense of humour and energy! I would 1000% recommend his services :)

Our family of 5 ranging in age from 11 to 75 had a perfect day with Edgardo (and his daughter) hiking through the San Dionisio canyon. The day started with mango smoothies, freshly picked grapefruit and snacks before heading to the canyon, where we spent the day walking through beautiful scenery, swimming in pristine swimming holes, climbing on boulders and enjoying a homemade lunch. After returning to Edgardo’s place, we all kayaked in the beautiful oasis behind his property, bird watching and enjoying the scenery. The day ended with more mango smoothies and mango margaritas! What a great day and a great host. We would highly recommend booking anything you can with Edgardo and his company.

Beautiful park for walking, running, bicycles, or just sit and watch the ducks, iguanas, and birds. Free admission. Several play areas for the kids. Wonderful place to spend a few hours.
Arkk Smith — Google review
It is a nice place to walk around, but apart from some notifications by the trees it is more a park than a real botanical garden.
But it is amazing to watch so much birds, squirrels and plants in the middle of a city. If I were to live in Los Mochis I would spend a lot of my time there, just reading a book on one of the many benches.
Jeanette Slagt — Google review
Lovely park, botanical gardens, focusing on the cacti of Mexico and elsewhere
Nora Sullivan — Google review
Can't get enough of this place. We don't have a park like this in CDMX. Palm trees, lawns, paths and a circuit for jogging or walking with a stopwatch and distance markings. A refuge in what is an otherwise rather uninteresting town.
William Ford — Google review
This park in the middle of Los Mochis is the pride of the city! With its winding path that goes through regional trees, a palm grove, many plants and fauna, and along small canals that leads to a large pond with small islands that are inhabited by, among ducks and geese; large iguanas sunbathing, along with hundreds of turtles swimming around, and sunning on the shores and rocks. Featured in the middle is a waterfall like fountain that you can walk behind. But don't spend all your time watching the birds, turtles and iguanas you've only made it through the first quarter of the park. Behind the impressive front gates that are opened up so the public can see the large ground fountain, shooting water straight up with children running around in it. Just past the fountain is a huge playground with many places for kids to crawl on, including two swinging bridges, tower in the middle. Clean public restrooms nearby. And last of all acres and acres of grassy fields and picnic areas. The park is staffed by constant workers cleaning up, planting trees, cutting grass and monitoring the area for safety. A little info: the park was once the massive grounds surrounding the citys founder's Mansion/Hacienda, many parts of it are still standing all around. The city and park were founded by an American family named Benjamin Francis Johnston and these are his botanical gardens.

What a beautiful park in the centre of a busy city. Immediately upon entering this park you leave behind a lot of the noise of traffic and it was lovely and peaceful. The park has hundreds of species of trees in their arboretum. There is an 8 km walking track frequently used by walkers and joggers. A lovely place to stroll or exercise. There are even stations of exercise equipment anyone can use through out the park. There is a place to get food and/or drinks. No cost to enter. Open during the day.

The Zoológico de Culiacán is a modern zoo that offers an extensive array of animals from all over the globe. It is a fantastic little zoo, which I have visited twice due to its exceptional quality. The diverse collection includes various species of cats such as lions, tigers, cheetahs, and jaguars. Moreover, visitors can have the unique opportunity to feed the giraffes by purchasing chopped carrots for 16 pesos.
This is a great little zoo! We have been to this zoo, twice because it is so good. We enjoy looking at all the different cats ,lions, tigers, cheetah, jaguar... And this time we got to feed the giraffes! For 16 pesos you get a handful of chopped carrots and you (and your cold) get to hands feed the giraffes. Very cool experience! We hope to be back when our little one is older

Oh this was a sad place. Animals had little room to enjoy their day. Activities were none. Felt sorry for the Animals in these surroundings

They keep a very sick cheetah locked in a cage when he clearly cannot walk, desperately needs medical care, and should be sent to a cheetah sanctuary immediately. Punka** c*nt zoo. DO NOT GIVE THESE F*CKERS YOUR MONEY. THEY SHOULD BE IN PRISON FOR ANIMAL ABUSE. ONLY IDIOTS AND A**HOLES WITH NO ETHICS would rate this place better. It deserves ZERO stars. I am reporting them now to various authorities and cheetah conservationists.

The Jardín Botánico Culiacán is a vast 10-hectare botanical garden in Culiacan, Mexico, showcasing an impressive variety of plant species from around the world. It offers workshops and guided tours for enthusiasts of open areas and plants. One of its main attractions is the largest collection of palm trees in Mexico, along with other well-organized plant groups. The botanical garden also boasts captivating architectural designs that complement its content.
If you are an open areas and plants enthusiast, this is a place you can't miss on your visit to Culiacán. The biggest collection of palm trees in Mexico are displayed in this botanical garden. It also presents some other plants groups in a well ordered way.
There are also, some interesting architectural concepts intended to match with the content of the botanical garden that are worth of admiring.
Be sure to carry your umbrella, a good pair of sunglasses and sun block when you come.
It would be useful for some visitors to be able to obtain a field guide to the plants exhibited in the botanical garden, since it's almost impossible to remember by heart all the species shown in this place.
