Peña de Bernal is a well-known 350m-tall monolith that has a chapel near the top accessible through hiking. It is located in a wine region with numerous wineries to choose from, and the quaint town of Pena de Bernal offers friendly locals, clean streets, and a calm atmosphere. Visitors can hike for about an hour to reach the peak but must navigate narrow paths along the way.
Firstly this is an awesome place and must visit for anyone visiting Querétaro. We went on Sunday, I think the better way to go to this place is taking a bus, it goes every hour in "Flecha azul, section B, each ticket is 64 pesos and it it's 1 hour 15 minutes to get there. The challenge is that, bus leaves when it's full. So please be patient and there is a set time but rarely followed.
Other option is pay a tour but it costs 800-1000 per person.
Once you get there you walk to the first point and takes about 40 minutes. Then we paid 30 pesos per person and you are allowed to get further , the next climb takes 40 min to get to the top, some parts were difficult, it can be hands and knees crawling to get to the top.
Always wear comfortable shoes and clothes for the climb.
After climbing we went to the small downtown area. This is one that you cannot miss. It is on way down to catch return bus. Last bus is at 6 pm, there is another final bus at 8 pm to get back to Querétaro. On the streets there's some bread seller we tried mazapán bread, it was awesome taste.

Nice mountain for climbing. Beautiful views onto monolith from the village as well as from the touristic rout (there is no access to the top). The rout is rather easy and available for all people with minor physical practice, including children. It usually takes one to two hours.

Peña de Bernal is such a cute little town. All the locals are super friendly. The town seems clean and calm. I highly recommend this place for wine lovers. Peña de Bernal is located in a wine region. There are tons of wineries to choose from. There are a lot of local shops for you to purchase your souvenirs from.

Narrow space sometimes.
Bring a bottle of watter
$30 pesos entry per person closes at 17:00 hrs
There are some kind of tuk tuk from peña to centro (down town) $50 pesos.

Peña De Bernal is a small town, there’s hotels, museums and the Peña of course. You need comfortable shoes if you like to walk or you can use the tuc tuc moto taxis.

Take good hiking shoes or tennis shoes, water or electrolytes and rest in between and take in the beautiful scenery!! It's a long way up, but it's worth the hike! Safe too!

Peña de Bernal is the third largest monolith in the world, which was likely formed over 8 million years ago. Beautiful views and great walking town. We arrived late and weren't able to hike to the top, but we still enjoyed the sites. Bernal, the town, is one of Mexicos pueblo magicos. A great day trip if you find yourself in Queretero.

Great view from the top. You can even see the birds nest from there

Such a beautiful experience! I am so happy we got to come and visit this place. It is not very friendly to walk so bring your best shoes if you are planning to climb. I am pregnant so I didn’t even try, but I will come back to do some good hiking for sure in the future.
Adriana Sarcina — Google review
Full of magic, we didn’t do the hike. But it was nice to walk the streets of the town. Admire its beauty and try to make up the shapes of the stone, there’s a turtle, an elephant and a gorilla. We also tried Pan de Queso, delicious. 10/10, great experience and a quick visit.
Val Romero — Google review
Excellent magical town. Got on the fantasma four wheeler tours which are in the parking lot behind the main letters of Bernal typically charges 500 pesos but had a week day sale and charged 350 per 4 wheeler for 2 riders. Went to a esquite tasting then 2look out points to the monolith and a mezcal tasting. Took about an 1 1/2 tour would recommend.

100% recommended experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I visited this weekend. There are a lot of activities for all family members. The most popular one (Stepping grapes 🍇) it was awesome. I recommend to arrive prior to noon to avoid the crowds, specially during weekends. There are many wine options available to purchase, they also have grape juice for kids (alcoholic free).
Jaime Jimenez — Google review
I will admit, I was hesitant to visit La Redonda because it's very popular and right off the main road, so I expected it to be quite commercialized and rather like the local Walmart of wineries. In this regard, I wasn't much off the mark, but my boyfriend wanted to go and, in all honesty, I am really happy we did. We arrived later - around 4pm, and after having been to 4 other wineries already during our winery tour weekend, we really didn't feel a need to do another tour or tasting or visit the restaurant. We just wanted to sit out in the vineyard and relax with some cheese and wine, and it is here that this place delivers. They have two separate buildings - one for food (mainly pizza and a plate of cheeses) and another for ordering wine by the bottle which they will open and cork for you. The line for the wine was a bit chaotic, but the girl who served me was very kind. The food was cash-only but I was able to use my credit card for the wine. We did the margarita pizza and the a cheese and meat plate (which comes in a plastic container), and two bottles of wine - the Redonda carbernet savignon and savignon blanc. And armed with food and wine, we had a magical experience. The pizza was actually quite good and definitely enough for two people to share, especially when paired with the cheese plate. We stayed until sunset and then left before it got too dark out so it would be easier to return home. I think it was perfect - if you visit, visit later, around 4pm, but keep in mind THEY STOP SERVING AT 5:30PM, so get your wine bottles before then. The wines were actually pretty good and in the mid-200 peso range. They had some that were cheaper and some that were more expensive, so we went mid-range and were not disappointed. They charge for classes (50 pesos each) but thankfully we had a car full of glasses from previous tours so we just used our own. Overall, I do highly recommend making this the last stop on your winery tours. We are certainly happy we did and would return again.

Cool place for a picnic with family and/or friends.

June and July are the best months to enjoy this place! Great to grab a tray with a variety of cheeses and a cup of wine to enjoy the view. If you would like to do the vineyards tour, I will absolutely recommend the bus tour. A great place to enjoy an afternoon with your family and friends. There are no playgrounds for children.
Sonia Perez — Google review
The place is very pleasant, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. Wine is good and very tasty without being to strong or too sweet (we had the chances of tying 3 types of wine).
The guided tour was great and interesting even tho a bit pricy.
To note, when you want to buy wine to drink, they require you to also purchase their cheese platter ; and if you wanna seat a bit further (they have accessible seats where you crush the grapes, you'll need to pay extra), we didn't appreciate those details. Service wasn't that great at the restaurant as well.
Despite that in general we still appreciated the visit.
Théo — Google review
This vineyard is amazing. I highly recommend this place instead of Cava Bocanegra or Bodegas de conte. Let me tell you that we went to Bodegas de Conte first, they were charged us for a tour in a train through the Vineyards, with a 2 different types of wine tasting(just the cup) and cheese $450 p/p a total of $1,800 (pesos)because we were a party of 4, so we decide look for another place more affordable for us and we found La Redonda.
Monday through Friday the tour is free and on weekend is just $100 p/p. We get there at 1 pm and our tour was scheduled to 4 pm. We decided to walk around the vineyards and eat at the restaurant. We’ve ordered to share: Tapas, chesse, pizza, 2 bottles of wine, 4 coffees and we just paid $1,100 (pesos). We spend lest money, ate and we spend a great time there and definitely I’m coming back.
Nina Barragan — Google review
Great place to visit, bring your wine glasses as they will sell you theirs to let you drink, relaxing, lots of open spaces, really enjoyable for couples, families and friends!

Its the first time that i came here and i loved it. The space its very wide. They brought together more than 1000 wines to taste, along with some cheese, bread and special food selection. I will definitelly came back. Its open from 11am to 7pm.

I was here last month and I had a great experience at this place, It's huge!
I've gotta say, their tour around the place is really good, very informative, the staff is well customer service oriented, from the tours outside to the tours inside below.
They also have an open space where you can get drinks and buy snacks to enjoy with wine or drinks.
They also have shops where you can buy local items representing the roots of Queretaro.
Overall I think this place is great.

Wow what an experience and how beautiful! This place is incredible! Huge and you have to have to do the tour! It’s so amazing to see all the barrels and all the wine bottles just wow. Lots of cool spots to take pictures too! They have lots of wine of course and at the end of the tour you get a little taste of the wine and get to keep the glass!! The mark is on the bottom of the glass part so save the glass it’s worth it!! Bathrooms are very clean. They also take pictures of you around the area and then you can purchase them (great idea). They have a shop to buy everything. Very fancy and very cute! Must visit if you are in the area. Ps. They also sell ice cream!!

They seriously charge you to be able to drink from a glass. All I wanted was a simple tasting. What class do the Querétaro winery show.

This is a pretty amazing experience. I knew nothing about wine and learned a lot in the tour. The staff is very helpful and the walkthrough is very complete. You can choose between 3 different walkthroughs, we took the UVA-Bus package. We got to see the grape vines up close, got a small photo break at a super cute spot with a view of Peña de Bernal. You can go into the factory and see how the wine is made. To top it off we got a cold glass of wine. You can also purchase wine in the gift shop. I had to get 6 bottles, the prices are a steal. It’s a must do if you are visiting Queretaro.
Claudia Martinez — Google review
It was a beautiful place (we visited in December) & very packed. They give you a tour of their facility and the tour includes a history of how Freixenet got there. They explain the wine process as well. Great for wine lovers or just those who like exploring. They give you a sample at the end of the tour. And there is a lot of variety to purchase from. They have a roofed and open yard at the center of the entrance so you can sit, relax and enjoy some of their wine with snacks for purchase. The tours were in Spanish. I give them a four because I wish they were better managed, it was too crowded and a little all over the place but I am sure with a bit of management help this place could be a 5!

A beautiful pedestrian plaza that makes you feel as though you are going back in time, to a simpler way of life. Untainted and holding true to the traditions of this country. There are nice boutiques, artesanal shops, and restaurants. It is representative of the innocent and warm essence of Mexico. Quiet during the week and vibrant with a deep sense of community on the weekends.
There's only one plea, for the church to tone down the recording they play 3 times per day. The distorted sound shatters the magical experience of being here.

24hr is great. Food was decent. And they have a nice zipline at the park. Unfortunately the pools are not that deep but can still be swam in. They do get dirty over time tho. The hot vapor at the top is a nice experience and the lights make look good at night. The bridge at top gives the best view.
Restrooms really need an upgrade.

Mexican water park. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from Mexico City.
There are dangerous roads along the way, so it is wise not to go through at night.
The parking lot is large, so you don't have to worry too much.
Pay at the entrance, wear a wristband and enter.
Re-entry is possible as long as you have a wristband.
There is a place to change into a bathing suit, but it's not clean, so you might want to change in your car.
Be sure to take a natural steam sauna.
It's natural, so if you're not careful, you may get burned, so please try it while watching the situation.
The rice in the garden is tasteless anyway.
It took a long time to come out even if I asked, so it would be better not to expect it.
There are usually hot springs.
However, since it smells, it seems that some people are worried about it.
Come visit us for a natural steam sauna in Mexico City.

It is a very fun and social spot for family and friends. A real water park attraction. They have hotels, restaurants, camping, food vendors, and bathroom / changing rooms on site. Multiple pools are heated and feel great! Fun little pools with kiddie play grounds. Separate pool areas amongst the whole place. Water slides, a zip line, and a great big bridge that overlook the entire scenery. Their main attraction was the natural vapors! Smelly but a great natural hot spring. It's really cool to look at and enjoy a nice sauna session.

You have little ones? I suggest don’t waste money energy and life with these people. I was on line to book a room at their hotel just 3 people before my turn as I waited with my 2 and a half girl she started crying. The guy that works at reception named “Juan Hernandez” I don’t even know if is the real name of that coward he told me to make my child stop crying in the worst possible manner. When I went back and asked for his name and to left minutes after I exit this same guy with another worker went across the street to intimidate me they started talking stuff out loud infront of my 2 year baby girl and my 11 year old boy then one of them hit a sign couple of times to make me feel afraid. Worst experience ever definitely NOT a FAMILY PLACE

Incredible natural HOT WATER Geiser! Continuous spouting of this Geiser makes it a sight hard to believe. This location has been made into a "water attraction" like a resort / park built around this natural water source. People come from miles to sit in the Natural "Jacuzzi" water & the kids can play in the "cooled off" water pools.
It was once used to create an Electricity source but hasnt been used like that since the 1970s.
They even pipe this natural water source into their restrooms' Hot water faucets!! Nice park facility for a day with the family!

However keep in mind it is situated at 2700m above sea level, so going up and down might prove difficult if you are comimming from sea level.
However I would recommend the experience

A beautiful and natural park with many animals in their habitats. You can see rabbits, camels, llamas, ostriches, zebras, hippos, longhorns, Rafa the Giraffe and many others. They do not have carnivorous animals. You can take a safari style tour to enjoy the land and you can also feed the animals if you want. They have a small restaurant and snack food area. Do not expect gourmet food since you are on a fieldtrip. I think it is wonderful for kids and adults to learn and enjoy time.
Teacher David de la Peña — Google review
Kids loved it. Dumping food into a water buffalo's mouth was the highlight of our time. You have to pay extra for some activities, but they allowed kids to ride as much as they wanted. Price of food was good.
Brian Hicks — Google review
Much better than i expected. It's a great place to get out for the day especially in northern Edomex where there isn't a lot to do. Bring cash because barely anywhere in the park accepts card.
Daniel Allen — Google review
Not good, but not the worst. The park is mostly hills and the little push cars they rent out are only for 1 - 2 year olds, so bring a stroller for young kids because it's more of a hike than a normal amusement park.
The safari is terribly, horribly bumpy and you need to keep a death grip on your kids to keep them from falling off the benches.
The animals look well fed, no visible ribcages. The herbivores all seem to have babies, which is cute.
But the lions look miserable and the hippo pond is so, so tiny. The single elephant was laying down the whole time, likely lonely and depressed. Poor thing looked dead.
If they can't keep a group of elephants they should stop advertising a group of elephants. And certainly stop torturing a poor elephant with a life in solitary confinement.
Feeding giraffes is always fun for kids and the giraffes seemed happy enough. The cups of lettuce and carrots are $20 MXN each.
The sea lion show was really boring and mostly just the trainers talking, not worth it for young kids.
The dinosaur boat tour was incredibly short and they spray you with large amounts of dirty, stagnant pond water. But my kid liked it.
The food in the park was surprisingly cheap and decent.
I would never go again but my kid liked it.

Lots of fun. We took my 4 year old and there was plenty for him to do and eat (picky eater), and the adults all had a great time too!
Josh Dobbs — Google review
went there mid may 2022, the safari was great particularly when the safari truck take you to the middle of the "savanah", that brief moment its trully resembles the experience of real safari (i had done safari in africa before).
you can se the lion during the safari, but they place it in some kind of enclosure (not caged). in the edge of the "savanah" they have a platform where visitors get off their truck and feed the giraffes around the platform.
apart from the safari, the other atractions they have is decent given the affordable ticket price. the food options is ok and cheap, not on par with things that one normally encounter in average food court but its ok. you could spend good +/- 4 hours inside which depends on your preferences.
toilet wasnt the greatest though.
Robby Achirul — Google review
Very nice place. Plenty of restrooms which were very clean. Lots of activities for everyone. They sell a variety of food. Weather was very cool.

Rolando Choussal — Google review
Nice park, glad I've done it but wouldn't tell others to really go.
Park needs some management review.
We had fun make no mistake. But some stuff is just off. Best example: entering the mines. Remember it's a kid park. The driver pulls off quite fast, then occassional stops to see displays of miners working, then it goes horror with huge spiders, a monstreous medusa and scorpions. Talk about straying off the path here omg hahahaha. From a jolly ride to a nightmare for kids. Get a grip guys.
Some attractions plain unsafe like the seating of the safari trucks. Then a huuuge walk off a hill and up for 4km to see a tiger pit. Luckily I didn't bring a stroller to the "kid" park. We liked the hike but what's is doing here in that world. Staff could care more, need to be redirected, no scores here.

The last 3km to reach the place are on a bumpy unpaved stretch but it is worthwhile to reach such a place of beauty. One could walk all around the lake in about an hour. One has the view of the lake throughout the circuit, do not venture into the forest behind . We went on a weekday and had the place nearly to ourselves. The zipline was not functioning. There were several cabanas, fishing, camping and barbecue areas, picnic spots and toilets dotted all around. The entry fee of 30 mxn per adult,15 mxn per child was reasonable. Parking was free but appeared to be only limited space available for it. Please do not leave any trash behind!

Really cool place for outdoor activities like fishing, canoeing, having a picnic and stay at a cottage, also for hiking, to the beautiful "Bufa" cliff.
The place has a restaurant where you can eat local food.
The place has a parking lot where you can park your car securely for a cheap price.
This dam is located within a "pueblo magico", so it's a well rounded option to visit for the whole weekend.

What a nice place! You can do this as a couple or as a family trip, you are going to spend some beautiful time far and free from pollution and stress of the City, I would recommend 100%.

1. Be careful of the cartsman!!!
Because we need the carts to bring the food to the grill area.
We didn't ask for the price before (Because we usually believe there are trust among people ).
After the cartsman bring the food from the parking place to grill area(Just around 150 meters), the man asked 100 PESOS for one carrito!!! It is a rip off. (Probably because we are foreigners).
2. There were at least 10 dogs(Street dogs or dogs raised by the villagers) in the grill area, begging for food, and fighting each other for food. No one is managing the place, or provide a complete barrier to avoid dogs to go insde.
3. if you just want to go there for grill from Mexico City , I highly don't recommend here. It is far (2+ hours driving) , has only ordinary scenery, dishonest cartsman and poor management.

A nice lake, but the water isn't super beautiful. We had a picnic near the water in a quiet spot away from the crowd.

Beautiful place, a little bit scary at night and so noisy in rain season with thunder and lightnings, i will suggest have more bathrooms and food areas. Be careful when walking and climbing with rain you could slip and fall

Fantastic place for picnic, a short zip line, horse ride and simply walking in the park with a slight incline.. Worth a day trip with plenty of options for fish lovers

Carretera Villa del Carbón-Toluca, Km. 4, Las Vigas, Villa del Carbón, Méx., Mexico
The Tula archaeological site, located two kilometers north of the town center, boasts a pyramid and columns shaped like warriors made of basalt. Visitors can stand atop the pyramid and admire views of the surrounding countryside while gazing at the impressive Toltec warrior statues. The site is also home to two museums, both free with admission. In addition to explanatory signs in English, Spanish and Nahuatl throughout the area, souvenir markets are available on weekends near the entrance.
Short walk if nonstop. As of April 2024 the museum portion is closed due to a strike. Along the way to the pyramid site, there are paths of different giant cactuses and native trees. There are vendors along the path selling souvenirs, typical garments etc. The ruins cover a small area, so the walk is short. You can buy refreshments at the entrance and sun hats with the vendors.

Very nice archeological place, at the same place you can find a very old open chapel that was built to celebrate mass like the local costum at that time.
Just need little more maintenance.

This place is so amazing, not well known by tourist.
We arrived to the bus terminal Capu and got a taxi to the site.
We enjoyed this place because it's one of the few pyramids you can climb up to and once you are on the top you can see the 4 top warriors ( Atlantes de Tula).
Magical Place.

A very interesting site to visit. The ruins are a walk of about 500 meters or so, but level and well marked. There were vendors along the way with interesting trinkets, but NO water...bring a water bottle with you as there is little shade. The signs along the way are very informative. Plan on an hour and a half or so. You climb up the pyramid to see the statues...

This place is important historically, because the Toltecs influences the Aztecs. The Toltecs build large stone warrior columns, that were placed on top of the pyramid. A Spectacular wonder and site to see. Only downside is the place is distant from any major city. It can take 2 hours to get to, however the place is accessible and crowds are low in comparison to other sites. Only downside is the museum is closed, all the things were shipped to the National archaeological Museum on Mexico City. What a shame.

It is a good place for walking around, see the local tree(mostly cactus), birds and small spieces.
It is also an archaeology site of Totec culture.
It is quite pity that the musium is not open when we visit and there are not much information in the archaeology area.
The entrance fee is 90 mexico peso each person, applied to foreigner only.

Not very big, but very well preserved ruins of the Totlec empire. You can walk up the pyramid to see the big statues of the Toltec warriors.
It is about 1 km walk from the entrance to the ruins, but the walk is very pretty and you pass some vendors along the way selling keep-sakes and shirts and stones.
Bring some water and a hat and sunglasses, or an umbrella for the walk. Only 90 pesos to get in. But the museum was closed when we went.
Overall a great experience.

90 pesos is the admission fee. It is free for Mexican residents on Sundays. We were able to walk through most of the ruins, including climbing to the top of one pyramid to see the atlantes.
Several infopanels helped interpret the site, and are in both Spanish and English.
Numerous vendors line the path from thr parking lot to the site.

Amazing little site. And I mean little. About 5 structures to see, only a couple of which are impressive. Great carvings remain and the warrior statues are incredible. These are the guys the Aztecs based themselves on. Old, old site... well worth it if you're nearby.

The experience of walking among the buildings of this ancient civilization is amazing, however, it's very sad that the government reduced the budget that this area had to operate, the facilities are old and almost crumbling down. There are two museums that had awesome pieces of history and they are now closed since 4 years ago. There are sings of workers who are still fighting for a full opening of this archeological area. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean, although they are very old too. There are only bathrooms the entrance, so you may want to take precautions, since the whole walkthrough will take longer than 45min. Inside, there are many vendors who sell cheaper objects than in other places. It has a lot of history, but it's no Teotihuacán. On Sundays is free, the usual fee is 90 pesos. I suggest to pay for a guide, since the information on site is very little. A 30pesos handout is also recommended, so you can read more about the history of this ancient civilization.

This an awesome place its more like an eco adventure park
You have options of cave trekking / paint ball / zip line and many other stuff check the attached photo for details
Multiple activites are based on the difficulties you can find the details in lobby
We chose to go to caves and it was one of the best experience we had. The safety gear provided was sanitized and was of good quality no compromise there , also the staff is super helpful.
A guide comes along with you who will explain you all the details about the caves and will guide you through entire trekking activities inside the grutas.
Special thing about grutas is that it is home to migratory bats which comes during specific time of year. Also the natural rock formation by mineral deposits.
Our guide was Ramon and he was gem of a person and took care of us a lot. One thing to note is that if you are heavy dont for for grutas as it is little difficult and you may not enjoy it.
Inside grutas there is zipline and rappling as well its one of a kind experience if you are adventure seeker you should definately try this. The trek looks difficult but the guide makes you comfortable enough and helps you complete the trek without any difficulties.
The facility has a shop for refeshment and souvieneirs. There is also a restaurant which serves good food and it is affordable.
If you are visiting Tolantongo this place is about 1hr from that location. You can club two places in one without too much problem.
Give it a try and you wont be disappointed.

Art & artifacts from Mexico's colonial period displayed in an opulent former seminary with tours.
This is a big museum that contains Jesuit priests old life details, entry to church which has a breath taking view of the altar with golden paint all over. The museum also contains pictures and hand work of Jesus, Mother Mary, St Joseph, Many saints and angels, Mayan ruins pictures , Spanish history in Mexico and a lot many to go through in this museum. The bathroom are very neat and the entire area is well maintained. There is no entry fee on Sunday only.

It's a small town a few miles from Mexico City. If you can, avoid visiting it at weekends; because it's literally crowded! Yet, if you come during the week, you have to pay around 4 USD (year 2018) to enter, and it's free on Sundays. The museum is exquisite with real baroque pieces as it is part of a monastery. After visiting the museum, you may take a walk around the square and have a snack, mealor a drink in the nearby restaurant which most of them offer Mexican traditional food.

Hidalgo, 99, San Martin, 54600 Tepotzotlán, Méx., Mexico
Paseo de la Reforma is a major boulevard in Mexico City, modeled after the Champs-Elysees in Paris. The street is lined with monuments and skyscrapers, and is a short walk from the Museum of Modern Art. The park at its center is one of the largest inner city green spaces in Latin America.
Fantastic and several kilometer long tree-lined avenue, ideal to stroll any time of the day and admire its monuments, exhibits, skyscrapers, parks and manicured gardens. It is also the place where social demonstrations, protests and popular parades concentrate, and every Sunday half of it is pedestrianized for the massively popular ciclovia, a weekly local event in its own right.
The National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City is a must-see for anyone interested in pre-Hispanic civilizations. The museum contains some of the most beautiful and impressive artifacts from across Mexico, dating back to the Olmecs, Totonacs, Huastecs, and Classic Veracruz periods. The displays are arranged chronologically and are filled with interesting information on each civilization. There is also a good section on contemporary indigenous cultures in Mexico.
Prepare to spend all day here, it is a huge establishment that has so many artifacts, sculptures and monuments. I love that it has indoor and outdoor parts that allow you to see lots of different things. I spent 2 hours here and i barely got through 1/3 of the exhibits! I think this is a must-see, one of the best museums I’ve ever been to.
Also, most of the exhibits have English translations as well!
Wilson Tsang — Google review
A great museum, large site and much to see. Clearly had some real thought put into the design and layout, including some outside spaces you can walk through which was lovely and shielded the view of the road which was nice.
The price is very reasonable at 85 pesos per person and they take card which is useful (national museum of art only took cash and charges c20% more if using US dollars)
Bag storage area if you’re carrying a rucksack which is well organised, and mandatory - you can keep small bags but not rucksacks around nor water bottles.
Really enjoyed this and spent a couple of hours there, didn’t use the restaurant but is one for a break.
Would recommend getting here early, we were there for 10am opening as by the time we came out around noon there were queues to get in and a wait. We also went in a week day as we could.
There were translations into English on not all, but many sections so we were able to read quite a bit to understand the context of the pieces

This museum is absolutely gorgeous. It has a really good collection of prehispanic artifacts and shows the cultural richness of Mexico. Even if museums is not your thing, I’d still recommend going to this one. It has inside and outside exhibits. It would take you at least half a day to go through it. If you’re a nerdy type and like reading everything - then add a few hours more. A few tips: they have a nice gift shop, not very expensive with nice souvenirs. If you going to eat there, I’d opt for a cafeteria. Restaurant is expensive for Mexican measures and not good. The waiter that served us was pushy and borderline rude. The food is mediocre. So get a sandwich in the cafeteria, check out the museum and then eat something decent outside.

Amazing! This museum has so many displays. We were here for three hours and did not get to see the entire museum. It is so large, beautiful and clean with much history.
There is no need to pre purchase your tickets or to even have to hire a tour guide to take you here. It sits on the Chapultepec park. We took an Uber there and it dropped us off right next to the entrance. We just went up a short flight of stairs after turning the corner. We purchased the tickets upon arrival. We had to check in our umbrella bags and water bottles. Then we proceeded to explore the museum.
Amy De Leon — Google review
The collection is rich and interesting but user experience and customer service of the museum are lacking.
-1 star for monolingual captions. In a place so tourist-centric surely all descriptions could be bilingual? At the moment only the introductory boards are. I’m writing this as a person for whom English is NOT a native language.
-1 star for digital equipment - when I visited nothing was working. It’s not a major flaw because there was still plenty to see, however for an institution like this it shows bad planning.
Overall: definitely worth visiting despite the inaccessible exhibition design.

I'll reiterate the other thousands of reviews already posted - definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Lots of history and interesting things to see. Place is huge and will probably need half a day or more to see it all. Was here 3 hours (they were closing so had to leave) and definitely didn't get through it all. Paid at the entrance at the ticketing window with card, 95 pesos per person, no wait on a Wednesday afternoon. Bags have to be checked in at a desk near the gift shop.

Other-worldly trip inside a world-class museum. Stunning collection of artifacts and history. Beautiful space with prudent Covid restrictions (at the moment). Fun to walk around on a nice day. If you visit Mexico City, make this museum a MUST SEE! Give yourself several hours for it. We were there for 3 hours and only saw the 1st floor. A stunning and amazing museum with great and interesting exhibits that are bound to take up your attention for several hours. Displays were well presented and laid out. What can I add? The place is a must if you're interested in Mexican history. The exhibits are designed well, which makes you feel welcome. The description of the items is mostly in Spanish so get ready to use a translator app.
Spent about four hours here but could have easily stay longer.
Pablo Zayas — Google review
I definitely recommend visiting this museum to everyone, especially if you want to know more about Mexican history and culture. The only upsetting thing was that the second floor was almost completely closed. However, as I understand, the exposition on the second floor tells more about modern history and culture. Also, keep in mind that the museum is quite popular. During weekends there are big queues to enter. Probably, the best time to visit is Wednesday morning. And it seems that it is only possible to buy tickets with cash. I did not see card terminals. So, get 95 pesos before going to the museum.
Alina Desyatnikova — Google review
Great museum with unique artifacts but there is a lot of room for improvement. The placement of items inside each exhibit seems random and does not follow any chronological order, which makes following the story of any specific civilization unnecessarily confusing. Virtually all the descriptions are written in Spanish so get ready to use translate apps all the time and make sure to have a battery pack for your phone.
They provide an app that has some audio description in English, however, the app is not maintained well and is extremely buggy. Moreover, there is no good way to figure out which items are included and the app or how to find them aside from a couple of pre-planned tours that the app offers.
I would love to see a number displayed on each item, which then can be typed in the app to get relevant text/audio of each specific item.
With a bit more English and some work on the app this place can be incredible!

I loved this museum. Very clean, spacious, and educational. You can spend the entire day there appreciating all the displays. Most of the information plaques are only in Spanish which was a disappointment for me since I couldn't learn about those particular pieces. I recommend adding English plaques as well or a digital recorded guide system. Regardless I'm sure I'll return if I'm back in the area.

It is an amazing museum with a great collection. It was a pleasure to discover the different cultures with much information in spanish as well in english. They also have some structures of the different cultures outside. There you can take amazing photos.
It was pity that the upper floor with the additional mayan stuff was closed.
We went there on a late Friday afternoon. It has a lot of people, but it wasn't too much. For buying the tickets we had to wait about 5 minutes.
For going in you have to pay an entrance fee of 90 pesos (about 5 $). You can pay it by card. It was worth it to go there. Calculate enough time for seeing the stuff, I can recommend at least 2.5 hours. If you are interested in history, then you should go to this museum.

Cannot miss the Teotihuacán exhibit, which will show you in color some of the details you would most likely miss when you visit the actual pyramids.

I recently visited the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City, and I must say that it was an absolutely incredible experience. Having traveled to museums worldwide, particularly those focusing on anthropology, I can confidently say that this museum stands out in a league of its own. The museum's grandeur is immediately evident, and it's incredibly well-organized and spotlessly clean, making the visit all the more enjoyable.
One aspect that truly sets the Anthropology Museum apart is the way it skillfully narrates the history and stories of this fascinating region. They employ a unique approach by blending photography with lifelike depictions of indigenous people. This creative combination, alongside authentic tools and elements from the region, immerses visitors in a realistic portrayal of the area's rich history.
To add some background, the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City is renowned worldwide for its comprehensive collection of artifacts and exhibits related to the indigenous cultures of Mexico. Established in 1964, the museum's purpose is to preserve and showcase the incredible cultural diversity of Mexico's native peoples. It's situated in Chapultepec Park, a beautiful and sprawling green space, and it's housed in an architecturally impressive building. To get there from downtown Mexico City, you can easily take a taxi or public transportation, with various bus and metro lines serving the area.
The museum's vast size means that a full exploration can take at least a day, but it's time well spent. The exhibits are not only informative but also beautifully presented, offering visitors a deep understanding of the history and culture of the region. In my opinion, the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City is a must-visit for anyone interested in the rich and diverse heritage of this part of the world.

Excellent museum, not too big not too small, you should definitely be able to see it in one day. I went on Sunday it was very crowded as I think it is free for residents of Mexico. The metro system is very interesting for some reason they will empty the train and you have to figure out how to get to your final destination.

There is so much to see, I recommend doing a morning tour and then having the afternoon to explore independently. The most amazing museum I've been to in my life. Absolutely beautiful and very well organized with indoor and outdoor exhibits. Huge exhibits on display everywhere that just blow your mind. Definitely makes you want to learn more about the history of civilizations in Mexico.

Lovely museum that shows the anthropological history of various cultures and eras in Mesoamerica's history. The ticket is reasonably priced at 85$ pesos and the security goes by very quick. There's lots of exhibitions, but one thing you might notice is that all of the exhibitions share many similarities in the objects displayed. I myself found it boring at times walking through another clay figurine display.
Nevertheless the museum features most signs in both English and Spanish, as well as some spectacular displays that you can't miss.

What an amazing place! This has been one of the most memorable places to visit in all of Mexico. The exhibition of 23 rooms is impressive, to say the least. Plan on spending half the day, at the very least, to see some of its gems. We had limited time and saw the exhibits in three rooms in four hours. With the exception of the Tenochtitlan room, we flew through the other rooms. There's that much to see. The Tenochtitlan room was the most impressive to me given the fact that you can see THE Aztec "calendar," which really isn't a calendar. Other pieces are just as impressive, especially if you know your history. If you only have a couple of hours, go. You can get through the Tenochtitlan room in 2 hours. It's well worth it. I will return to see more of these remarkable gems.

This is one of the prime attractions in Mexico City. The museum is huge and it’s not possible to cover it in a day or two. So good idea to first pick the sections that you would like to visit and focus on them.
The entrance is free for locals but they charge visitors. They use a casual look and see approach. If you kind of look Mexican you can go else they will wave you to the ticket booth.
The outside of the museum is a lively picnic area. They have water fountains that are used by kids to play and bathe in. Many food vendors and a small market for local items.
Parking is huge but they also run out of it and then they will not let you enter. One has to drive around to get some other paid parking.

Great experience! A must if in CDMX. Recommend to get a guide through TripAdvisor as there’s so much to learn and for your questions to be answered. Tours can vary but if you want to see the entire museum it’ll take 2+ hrs.

Beautiful building and amazing installations. I should have split it over 2 days. There is so much to see and read about Mexicos' extensive history. Advice: Bring your own coffee. The cafe line was all the way outside and barely moving. I couldn't wait that long.

It is a treasure trove of ancient civilizations. From the colossal Aztec Sun Stone to the elegant Mayan artifacts, it's a journey through Mexico's rich cultural heritage. Don't miss the iconic Aztec Calendar Stone and the impressive reconstructed temples. Overall, a must-visit

Absolutely love this museum! My two year old son loved running around the courtyard and the outdoor exhibit in the Mayan area. This was my third visit in ten years or so and just as interesting as the first.

Very well made place. Just the architecture itself is amazing!
As I said when I was there, one of the most beautiful man made things I have seen. I am not exaggerating.
Like every museum of this category, you need more than one visit to fully appreciate all the exhibition halls. There is a lot to see and it could be a little overwhelming, even for a one day visit. I mainly gave my attention to the architecture of the place and walked through some of the expositions that I wanted to visit.
Do not hesitate to visit this Museum, it's 100% worth it.

Av. P.º de la Reforma s/n, Polanco, Bosque de Chapultepec I Secc, Miguel Hidalgo, 11560 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico
The Chapultepec Castle overlooks Bosques de Chapultepec and is a regal site in Mexico City. The castle was home to Emperor Maximilian and Empress Carlota in the 19th century. Today, the castle houses the Museo Nacional de Historia.
A genuine castle on a hill with real history. Fun fact: when the USA won the war, they briefly occupied the castle. Unfortunately if that piques your curiosity, you won’t find any information in the Mexican museum.
You can access the main castle body on the back of the area, through the horse carriage stable/garage. Seeing the opulence makes your imagination spin for what things must have been like for the well connected in the 19th century. Worth a visit!

Loved this castle!!! The views are incredible and all rooms made to enjoy it. It is beautifully maintained. Many rooms well preserved. The terraces are stunning and gardens lovely. The walk up is some effort but there is a handicap entrance for those need it. The parks surrounding below the castle is wide and expansive. Entry is dirt cheap at 85 pesos. Take cash they ask for exact change

Loved my visit to the castle, and gardens. It’s fabulous! I visited the palace of Versailles in Paris and was let down by how little of the palace was available for tourists. This Castillo by contrast is completely opened up and offers not just a view into royal life in Mexico, but also a terrific collection of historical art, and a great summary overview of Mexican history following the Conquistadores. If you’re a Canadian like me you probably didn’t learn any of this is school and I suspect you’ll be very interested in digging i to this topic more deeply.
Tickets were reasonably priced IMO and great value. The walk up the hill is not too difficult though it is made worse by the masking requirement (seriously… they want you to mask up outside which seems insane to me, but what can you do). Just take a few breaks along the way if you need to. There are some great views of the park along your way up.
Remember to come at least 90 minutes before closing (last entry is 430) or you won’t even scratch the surface.
Not all of the objects provide descriptions in English. Many are Spanish only but it didn’t take away from the experience for me. The day we went we were only allowed to pay cash which was odd. Hopefully a one-off issue with the WIFI
I highly recommend this attraction. Attached to this review are some of my highlights

This is a beautiful, well maintained monument to history. This building is very well persevered along with a lot of elements from its past days. You can see into various rooms and learn about the lifestyles of the then-elite (while acknowledging the role it played to Mexican history. The view from the top is great, but get ready to walk a bit! I went on a Friday and there was an impressive queue already there, but thankfully, it moved rather quickly.

This castle is a must see if you are visiting CDMX. It’s on a hill, so be prepared for an uphill hike. It it has gorgeous views on the city. The castle itself is very interesting with good insight into Mexican history. Give yourself plenty of time for a visit so you can see the castle, the expositions inside it and the garden.

Beautiful castle and surrounds- make sure you bring cash for the ticket, they didn’t accept credit card when I visited. The main section of the castle does not have English translation but is still worth exploring, while the living quarters has excellent translations outlining the history over the past 300 years or so. Overall very well curated and maintained museum!

Came here on a Thursday at 9, which is when it opens because we wanted to avoid the crowds, and it worked - except for one school trip but we only ran into them once at the beginning. Tickets are sold down at the hill (the castle is on top of the hill so it is a bit of a trek) but there are not really any signs as to where to purchase the tickets. We only knew because shortly after we started up the hill, a kind soul told us that we need to purchase the tickets in the little house first because if you get up there and you don't have a ticket, they'll send you right back down. For the tickets, you have to pay cash and they want you to pay in exact change. We didn't have exact change (I mean who does, nowadays?) so we had to pay with a bigger bill and we realized that she shorted us our change. And she knew exactly what she was doing because as soon as we went back to the window, she immediately gave us the correct amount. You also can't bring water and they make you spill it out once you get to the top.
Other than that, the castle is very beautiful and there are lots of details. You can look at each room behind ropes and each room has an information plaque telling you what the room was used for. Overall, it took us about an hour to walk through everthing, once we were up there.
It also looked like they were setting up for some kind of event here. A wedding here would be beautiful (though probably very expensive).
Definitely worth a visit. Just remember to go early, buy tickets, and count your change!

A beautiful castle in the heart of Mexico City. Be prepared to walk a lot! Buy your ticket at the building at the very bottom of the hill (before security). Tickets currently cost 90 pesos a person, which is a great deal.
The walk up the hill to the castle is quite the trek and not for the out of shape. Once you get to the top, there’s a number of spots where you can check out the views of the city and parks below.
Beautiful rooms to peek into, and some signs are also in English which was great.
There are some elevators in the castle so people who can’t do the stairs can see the second floor.
Worth a visit! Expect to spend around a hour here. Great spot for solo travelers!

Great views, may be a guided tour works best to have a route inside the place as it is big and there is a lost of information and history that might be better digested if someone is explaining it in a certain order. I went on a regular Saturday and there were 2 people in line before me. Try to be early around 9 or 10 am it got crowded afterwards.
There castle is between 2 to 3 hours + depending on your own approach.
Remember there is a Zoo and the forest to walk through if you like.

Beautiful castle that’s definitely worth a visit if you have the opportunity. Students get tickets for free, even from other countries. If you do visit, highly recommend wearing comfy shoes as it’s quite a hike to get to the actual castle. Also, buy your tickets beforehand at the bottom or you’ll have to walk down and up again.

Bosque de Chapultepec I Secc, Miguel Hidalgo, 11580 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico
The Palacio de Bellas Artes is a renowned cultural center in Mexico City with stunning, eye-catching art murals painted by some of the most famous artists in history. The building is vast and contains several galleries, as well as a museum dedicated to architecture. It has been the scene of some of Mexico's most significant events in music, dance, theatre and literature, and it remains an iconic place for visitors to explore.
This was one of the most memorable experience in my visit to Mexico City.
We visited the Palacio de Bellas Artes during the weekend and saw a Ballet Folklorico de México show. It was a very emotional performance and the venue completely immersed you. The building’s architecture is stunning.
The shows are almost always sold out, so you should either purchase your tickets in advance or arrive at least two hours before the show.

Splendid place to visit, for around $4 dollars you can go into the museum I went on Monday, The building itself is gorgeous. Inside it's like a museum and a theater all in one. I can't speak to the acoustics of the theater because we didn't see a show there, but we did see two different exhibits, as well as the huge murals on the walls, remember museums are closed on Mondays. Fantastic venue. Amazing folkloric dance performance! Don't bother buying tickets online just walk in prior to performance and buy...much easier and cheaper. We would go again and again. Without doubt, there's a pretty place to visit in CDMX

The murals are breath taking. If you want to experience this unique art form then here is the place. The building itself is a jaw dropping architecture grandor both in day and night time. The park around is always crowded, full of activities and is a fun place to walk around or simply sit and watch people. Oh, make sure you scan the QR code to read the description of the murals in English to appreciate each panels. Otherwise, all descriptions are in Spanish, no English.

This is obviously a beautiful museum. You'd be crazy to think otherwise. It's even free to all guests in Sunday! There are three floors. The first two have mostly mural paintings with wings that have photography exhibits. The top floor also currently (March 2024) has a photography exhibit. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours here. There is also a performance hall inside where you can watch orchestra and dancing. Check the calendar for those events and prices.

This is an excellent example of Art Deco design. On the top level there is about 10 murals with at least two by Diego Rivera. There is also an exhibit by an important Mexico artist. Some paintings but mainly sculpture. Tourists will pay 90 pesos at the time of this writing, but Mexican citizens and residents will be free on Sundays.
The performance hall is also supposed to be gorgeous, but you will need to arrange to buy tickets to see a performance.
This venue can be done in one to two hours

You have to see the National Mexican Folkloric Show. It's a blast. The show is about 2 hrs long. But it worth every second of it. The stage is very deep, with the great sound and lights. The maximum quantity of artists on the stage is about 50 people at a time. It's really very impressive. The costumes are gorgeous.

This is an iconic place for Mexico City, but almost all visitors are only able to come to the museum of Palacio. Unfortunately, I must admit that the place is extremely overrated.
You may visit three floors there, two of them are the photos exhibition. The one on the first doesn’t even worth a glance, the one on the third floor is pretty good.
Other thing to see is murals on the wall, and they are pretty nice as well.

It's a beautiful and majestic specimen of architecture. The neighbourhood is nice- lots of street food, and good ones. The best spot to enjoy this palace is the coffee shop which is right opposite to the main entrance of the palace. Located in the north of Mexico City, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of the most sacred Catholic churches in the country and a pilgrimage site for Catholics around the world. The church houses an image of Virgin Mary on a cloak from the 1500s, which is said to have miraculous powers. Even if you're not religious, visiting this amazing sight is still an experience worth having.
Iconic basicila that has to be visited by everyone. Regardless of your faith, Catholics and non Catholics alike can admire the beauty of the architecture and history of the area. The culture is amazing to learn about and how it shaped the Mexico of today. It'll be more interesting if you have a guide showing you around and explaining everything to you, however going alone is still very interesting to do and you will admire everything the same. Entry is free so you don't have to pay to enter but you can always donate while inside if you'd like. Overall I can wholeheartedly recommend for everyone to visit and experience in your own

Amazing to see the scale of this place with five different churches and room for tens of thousands of pilgrims. None of the churches seem particularly spectacular, especially the newest one; quite a miss from an architectural standpoint. But if you have religious feelings, it could be a deeply moving experience to visit here.

If you are here for the spiritual part then there is nothing to complain about. However if you are expecting something similar to Fatima or Lourdes you may get a bit disappointed. The architecture of the new basilica is not my favourite. Also there is this massive concrete square that makes the place feel less welcoming. The old basilica and the other facilities are beautiful.

Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and it was absolutely stunning. The old basilica had a 2.7% tilt, which was corrected to 2% in 2002, stabilizing the structure. The architecture and design of the church left me gasping and gave me chills all over my skin. However, I do recommend having a guide with you to explain the rich history behind this incredible landmark. It can get quite crowded, so plan accordingly. If you're planning a visit to Mexico City, this is a must-see destination!

Very beautiful place, really recommend getting your picture taken when going up to the original church. The pictures are cheap and very beautiful. There’s a store on top that is very affordable. Very beautiful view. I also recommend staying for the entire mass.
WARNING: if you go to the mercado to get food go in a group there’s a restaurant that will basically surround you a pressure you into their food when there is much cleaner and better options behind them. There’s much better food out of the basilica to but just don’t go to that group.

This is a most when visiting Mexico City even if you are not Catholic! A beautiful church, the hsitory the new and old chruches are awesome, there is s sense of something special. The only downside ( as in too many places in Mexico City) is as the surrounding areas, which are dirty, the traffic is bad, street vendors obstructing the streets, etc. I have not seen the shape of the parking lot of the Basilica, but it is a plus, they also have a nice selction if souvenirs at their store, and you can have your purchaes blesed right there on one side.of the main basilica. In any case, I'd rather taking and uber and ask to be dropped off at one of the entrances. Either way is worth the visit.

Beautiful Church. Most definitely something every believer should experience at least once in their life time. Feels very peaceful and spiritual. They do have parking near by. We went on a tour during the week and it was a lot less crowded than when we went on actual Sunday. They do the blessings on the side of the church for all your items and yourself as well. Mass its almost every hour and taking a walk to the chapel on the hill its a most.

I went with a group of about 7 as a tour group. The Basilica is an amazing place and very well maintained. If you are Catholic there is the obvious spiritual connection you will feel visiting here. Also there is mass offered every hour on the hour when the shrine is open.
If you are not Catholic the architecture and art are still very much worth the trip. As with many buildings in Mexico City, some of the structures here are sinking and you can see this very clearly from the main square.
Finally crowds- crowds will be at their highest on Sunday mornings and of course on certain Holy Days. The feast day of December 12th will probably be mobbed as I was told as many as 2 million pilgrims show up on that day.

Archeological finds at the Cerro de la Estrella archeological site relate to the Teotihuacan, Toltec, Chichimeca and Culhua-Mexica cultures and range from 1500 BCE to 1521. Excavations have found the Temple of the New Fire, the Sanctuary, the Villa Estrellas, 144 caves, the remains of walls and evidence of terracing. The most important of these is the former plaza and temple of the New Fire Ceremony, which is on the top of the hill. This archeological site can be visited through a guided tour.
However, early archeological remains can be found in many parts of the park, including those which have since been covered over by urban sprawl.
Ceramic and stone sculpture materials were discovered in the west side of Huizachtecatl that apparently was made within the 100 to 500 years CE; these resemble other similar pieces found in Zacatenco, north of Mexico City. The constructions here were built between the year 100 and 650 AD and are located in the north side, the remains consist of foundations and walls of palaces that show Teotihuacan influence. Another area was housing zone at the middle of the hill, built during the late Classic period 600 to 900 CE. In 2003, specialists from the Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia INAH worked to document petroglyphs found in various areas of the park, registering 210 in eleven groups, but they believe there are still more. Some of the petroglyphs are aligned with certain annual solar events.
The most recent find was in 2006, when a pyramid base was discovered in what is called Calvary at the top of the mountain. This base dates to the Teotihuacan period, about 1300 years ago. INAH has decided not to excavate the base.
The last New Fire ceremony took place in 1507. Today, the hill remains important culturally, as the scene of Iztapalapa’s annual Passion Play.

Sunday Market At The Pachuca Monumental Clock Is Rich With Culture And Vibrant Community Atmosphere. I Was Lucky To Have Como On Its First Ever Annual Arts & Craft Fair. It Was Great And Full Of Life From All Corners Of The Land.

Appreciate classical architecture and experience hustle bustle of the town of Pachuca.
We came on Sunday morning and was fortunate to see the local MP performing their drill in front of the clock tower.
Tips: Walk beyond few blocks behind BBVA building and heads towards the Mercado. You will get first hand experience the local doing the business and its much more lively there.

Looks good, central place, couldn't find any option to enter, to just look at the tower, not really worth the trip

Definitely a must view in Pachuca.
The culture is lively and is really enjoyable to walk around the center.
Very relaxing.

A beautiful Monument set in a small town square with stunning architecture. The atmosphere of stores, shops, restaurants, street vendors and tourists surrounding the clock especially the locals providing entertainment amplified the life of the square to provide an enchanting and fun experience. Another must see when visiting Pachuca

The accent created wonderful and magnificent piece of artwork. Unfortunately people spray graffiti and not appreciate these valuable clock tower.

Impressive huge clock, still functioning after over a century of being built. There is underground parking right underneath that costs 12 per hour and 3 every 15 minutes after the first hour. The cultural centre ( and toilets) are closed due to the pandemic.

The landmark is amazing, even more at night with the different colored ligths, the only bad thing about it is during the day you can see all the grafitti that was left for different protests, it really needs maintenance.
The archaeological site of Templo de Quetzalcóatl is the most well-known and largest structure at the ancient city of Teotihuacan. The pyramid, which is also known as the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, has four surviving steps that are adorned with striking carvings.
One of the best places near by. We can clearly see the faces created in 200 bc, amazing. This site is bit far away from pyramid of sun but is must visit. We drove to the other end to avoid walking.

One of the best site to visit near the Mexico City. And it is best to visit with a guide who can provide the introduction of history and the vision of the imagination. It is best to visit in the early morning to avoid the large groups. It seems a little hard to reserve a Uber back to CDMX after you finish the trip. Maybe reserve in advance.
Tianxiang Wu — Google review
It’s a great site ;) however it’s not monumental because it’s not massive or endless to enjoy it because after a white it feels kinda small. There is no temple but a pyramid. I saw visitors in disbelief how they felt it was so big and it feels too small. I agree but still I don’t want to make a big deal of the size of this complex.
been’there — Google review
This was actually my favorite temple at Teotihuacan. It's not easy to see because of the restrictions they have put on getting close to the Pyramid. I would have given it 5 stars if I could have gotten closer.
Michael Endicott — Google review
One of the trip highlights when visiting Mexico City. You can easily spend 2+ hours here exploring. If you can, get a private tour guide and driver. You'll learn a lot more with that experience.
Jason Lee — Google review
To be honest, I was disappointed. There is no any temple there, just a ruined pyramid with decorations. Yeah, the sculptured heads are marvellous, but that’s not worth it to go from Mexico City to see this place on purpose. That was my third visit to Teotihuacan, by the way, and since the site is really huge, I make a trip dedicated specifically to see this so called temple
Alex Klénin — Google review
They have made this place just ok because you can't climb to the pyramids anymore...
david bussell — Google review
This maybe the most beautiful temple in the whole city of Teotihuacan if not the most impressive. The building is adorned with finely executed sculptures of the feathered serpent, Quetzalcoatl, and is restored to some degree. It is located very far from the main attractions however, and hence attracts far fewer tourists, which is their loss
Robert Chomicz — Google review
Incredible place. Please arrange a guided tour- as impressive as the site is on its own, it’s way more impressive when you get a sense of what it was all for.

So beautiful. Get the there at 8am and be the first ones and have the entire place to yourself.
Christopher Clark — Google review
don’t just go for the sun and moon pyramids when you’re here, take a walk down the path to this pyramid and admire its history and architecture. my guide said the “newer” structure in front is covering an “older”structure. no one actually knows why since there are no records. the original 7levels are meant to signify the step to heaven or something like that. the altar in front is apparently for sacrificial stuffs. my guide carries a guide book with pictures that reimagine what it looked like in the past. if you’re not just there for photo ops, should consider getting a certified guide.

Pretty self paced. We did not get a guide, but would recommend if you didn't grow up in México. The whole tour took us a bit over 3hrs. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Love it!

Such an incredible place. We visited during October holidays. If you do one thing in and around Mexico City, do this! I had a similar, out of this world feeling, as when I saw the Giza pyramids or Abu Simbel in Egypt. These ancient cultures always leave me in awe.
This site is huge, about 4 km from end to end. It has two exits. I recommend getting there for the opening time, to beat the tour buses that usually stop somewhere before getting here.
We took a private guided tour through Viator and had an amazing guide, so we learned a lot about the place and the culture.
We started at the entrance at the Pyramid of the feathered Serpent, and there were barely any people. This pyramid is the only one with loads of decorations intact. We had the pyramid to ourselves.
This was the only pyramid on which we could climb ( or rather climb the Adosada platform behind which hides the pyramid).
After that we walked to the other end of the site, through the “town”, to the huge Pyramid of the Sun and then the Pyramid of the Moon.
By the time, we got to the other side of the site, there were already more people there. We exited the site here, after about 3 hours.
We were glad we booked a private tour, as our niece and daughter weren’t suddenly feeling well, so we just jumped into the car and the guide took us to our hotel.

This is really a mysterious but beautiful place! We visited the archeological site and its surroundings. Also, and this made it really special, we took a hot air balloon ride to watch the site from above together with lots of other balloons. Fabulous and unforgettable!

Very impressive building. Entrance price/fee is arouns 75$ mexican pesos. 2 hour from city center and you can book a tour for 600-700$ or you can try to take metro to come here. There are people selling souvenirs.

Make sure you come in with a guide!!! There's so much to know and understand down to the tiniest of details.
It's a bit of a climb so better be prepared especially since Mexico sits at a higher altitude too.
I would highly recommend them. Communication was easy. This was a relief as you are not a local and you are concerned about logistics. They were able to accommodate picking us and the rest of the party from 2 different locations. The driver was so nice. Once we get there, you get a litle backpack with water and a snack. Our tour guide, Jorge, was amazing. He is a local and has so much knowledge. You can tell the respect he has for his community. The cave tour was great too, make sure your phone is charge in case you need to use your phone light. The artisan family we visit was nice. Make sure you have enough pesos to spend. They accept card as well. You get to taste pulque, tequila, mezcal, some mermelade made our the fruit of the nopal, and a spice salsa, so tasty! You get to have lunch at a restaurant which is covered by your tour fee . It was nice, food was great for the meat eaters. For the vegetarian ones, food was ok. You have to pay for drinks though. Finally, you get dropped off at your hotel. I would do this tour again with this company!

They went way out of their way to make it a great experience!

This is an overall once in a life time experience. Seeing the sunrise as you gently graze through the sky over the pyramids is an amazing sight and memory to hold. Our guide, Ramon, was super knowledgeable and helpful explaining additional things. He truly is a local with great ways to tell the history behind each item. Thank you for a breathtaking experience.

I had an amazing tour around a fascinating area. Our local tour guide Ramon was very passionate, and had much information to share. The bike trip was also nice to gettto see the area around the pyramids a bit more. The only downside I can think of is the insane traffic in Mexico City, so be prepared for some delays. But that is completely out of their control obviously.

If you're going to book this experience, I highly recommend doing so through Sky Balloons! I booked a private balloon and transportation with the pandemic in mind for myself and a friend and we felt safe as two women who speak minimal Spanish.
The views were breath taking. Jorge (George) was our pilot and was professional, courteous and informative of our surroundings. There was a bit of a sticky situation when it came time to land and we landed off course. With that being said he was sharp, calm, collected and navigated us to safety while also communicating with his team on the ground. His demeanor ensured I felt we were in good hands despite the somewhat bumpy landing.
Also worth calling out that I had to rebook this 3 times due to family related emergencies, and the staff were very understanding! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for allowing us to do so. It was an incredibly difficult time and when we were finally in the clear, being able to take this vacation and being able to have this experience, meant the world to me.

Flying over the amazing and beautiful pyramids of Teotihuacan in Mexico will forever be one of the highlights of my life. This amazing company provided us with incredible customer service pre, during and after the flight. They answered all my silly questions over the Internet and were really transparent and candid about the security concerns that in the last months risen as consequence of a sad incident that another company had. I suffer of vertigo but the beauty of the pictures and post shared by friends on social media made me forget my fears. And I thank the Gods of Teotihuacan for that! I felt always safe, the pilot was so professional and savvy, the photographer made you feel as movie stars and it was neat to have a drone following us during the beginning of the flight. The picture package is a must. We really enjoyed every detail: the music at the base, the cold sparkly bottle that we shared still on the basket after we returned to land. Once again, thank you Sky Balloons Mexico for an amazing and safe experience.

Phenomenal service. Booked through Airbnb experiences. They took care of everything. Pickup, drop off, coffee and snacks, gas fires and blankets to keep you warm in the cool mornings.
During the ride, observed breathtaking views. Very smooth take off and landing. Felt very safe from start to finish.
Overall extremely professional team. Unforgettable experience. Highly recommend.
I would recommend taking your own photos and videos. Staff provides a few photos and videos for free, but some extra photos and videos have a cost of 1500 MXN.

I have mixed feelings.
We booked for a private trip and we were fooled at its best. We were in a basket, together with other 3 baskets all of them glued together. We passed from a 4 people trip to a shared one with 11 more guys.
But we decided to enjoyed it anyway and had an excellent time. The experience was really cool.

Incredible experience! This was worth every single penny! Our balloon was Pegasus and the captain Agustin was amazing! I’d highly recommend this as part of your trip to Teotihuacán.
We found Sky Balloons through our hotel, the payment was in Mexican pesos. They offer transportation to/from your hotel, they give you coffee while the balloon is getting ready, and even a champagne toast when you land! They have this down to a science 😄
Yessica Pacheco — Google review
Our flight was amazing. They are really the best group and it was obvious when we were flying. Agustin was our captain and I would suggest trying to get him as your pilot. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and an expert. I didn’t think the balloons could have direction, but he knew the best way to go. While other balloons went off course he brought us perfectly to the pyramids. He was awesome. It was an excellent tour and education of the pyramids. I can’t stress enough that this is the best group to fly with and Augustin is the best pilot!!!
Garrett O'Sullivan — Google review
Overall a nice experience but we were utterly disappointed when on the previous night of the booking they pushed our pick up time to a little later which meant we missed the sunrise. It was almost 9am when we had a lift off and there were only a couple of balloons in the sky at that time. The main joy of this experience is all the balloons lifting off together around sunrise which we didn’t get to experience. No explanation given why they pushed our pick up time. We were looking forward to this and these excursions aren’t cheap.
We won’t be recommending them to others unfortunately.

We flew in a private (2pax) tour with the Balloon „Konfetti” and our pilot was Jorge. It could not have been better: our balloon flew right over the pyramid and was there before all the other balloons. We had the best views. We had booked it all just the day before via WhatsApp (also very attentive service). I highly recommend this company.

No words to describe the feeling. The service is amazing from the first second. This is an experience that you should live, definitely a MUST. You can be picked up from CDMX in El Angel de la Independencia, there is always a guide explaining you and taking you around the place. I highly recommend to pay a guide when in the pyramids, so you can understand the Inca culture and all the things that happened over there. The experience 1000/10.

We had a great experience and recommend going through them for an air balloon ride across the pyramids.

The kids enjoyed our time there, but several things were not open, as it was Friday. The animal show was canceled due to rain, but wasn't announced that it was canceled. Several people sat around waiting 30 minutes for it to start. Not sure why it wasn't rescheduled. They took the giraffe inside without announcing, so we couldn't feed it. Price should be lowered when everything isn't open.

The place is in the countryside in a little town called Amecameca, the views are the best with volcanos and snow. Now, the not so good thing is customer service. Everyone's rude. I personally had an issue with the restaurant and the security at the gate to the parking lot. INTERNET is a big issue, so I don't think you can work there. The price too high and not really worth it with the stuff they offer. I've been in some of the best hotels in the WORLD. I know what I'm talking about. Definitely room for a lot of improvement or low the price.

Great Park to have fun with your family.
No food, no pets allowed inside.
If you exit the park, you have to pay again. Which is bad if you plan to have a long stay, because the restaurant may be too expensive, Didn't check it, but Hacienda's page mentions buffet is worth $325 pesos.
Entrance fee includes most activities. But to use the pool, bubble bath and baby animal petting zoo you have to pay a little extra.
In case you need, swuimsuits are available to buy.
Labyrinth is fun and worths the trip, but there are many people, so you may end up following someone else.
Feeding zoo is a great activity for the family, but food bags are too expensive in my opinion. $30 pesos and is a little bag with 100gr of food. Food gets over very quickly, and you have to run to escape from animals (that adds a little fun).
There is a bouncy zone for toddlers. And a giant slide for the whole family.
I didn't try, but there is a jiraffe feeding zone, reptiles and other animals zone. Like a zoo.
My intention was to buy a Christmas tree in the forest and enter free to the park, but that promo is only available from monday to friday.
I arrived sunday very late, 3pm, park closes at 5pm (there was a lot of traffic). But the time expended was enough for my kids to love it.
Will certainly come back.
Maybe my recommendation will be arriving at 9 in the morning, and leave the place at 2 or 3pm, to have meal outside.

Package start at $235 pesos. Forced facemask wear for this outdoor park. Restaurant food sucks-Avoid. don’t fall for the price reduction for eating at the buffet. Workers are cordial but they lack sooo much basic common sense or reasoning so be prepared to follow the rules. Will never come back. Not worth it.

To clarify, this is not a hotel. This is a very historic place in Mexico. I just wish more information was available in English.
It is interesting to see a 400 year old building mixed with a petting zoo and zip lines but it makes it super fun to visit. The kids had a blast. Bathrooms were clean. People were friendly. The only downside is that they don't let you take pictures with some of the animals. The animal show was entertaining.
The medical team was good. We had a small allergic reaction to one of the animal fur and the staff was responsive. Who knew one of us was allergic to rabbit fur.
The volcano show was okay. Nothing extraordinary. They used strobe lights heavily and there was no warning for those with sensitivities.
Antonio Uriarte — Google review
You can feed the animals, some outdoors activities and great buffet

The room was super quiet and clean! Loved that. However, a few things happened during our stay which are against what they advertise.
1. The door didn't lock. Front desk told me twice that they had fixed it so i climbed the stairs twice, both times the door opened with just a push again. Down the stairs to insist. It took maintenance 3 tries over a few hours to finally just change the lock entirely. (That included me having to climb the stairs with our luggage at least 3 times; one of the front desk men helped me two of those times thankfully).
2. The sides of the kiddie and adult pools are covered in algae.
3. The water in both pools was cold. My daughter kept shivering. I couldn't even last long in the water myself. I expected warm water due to their advertising "climatizado" but it was definitely not the case. Only the air in the covered pool was warm. No swimming for us. 😕
4. The TV didn't work until someone came to fix it. They said the box had disconnected itself.

This ex-hacienda is skippable. It is included in the tour to Val'Quirico (which is worth visiting for a pleasant afternoon). The Chautla house looks pretty on the outside with its paint and brick which are maintained. But the inside has nothing except a couple empty rooms and a tourist item shop on the ground floor. Don't expect to see any kitchen items or old furniture or living quarters as it was a couple hundred years ago. It is only a photo stop for people's social media. The trees outside provide shade so that is nice but there are also mosquitos due to all the still water that surrounds the area. Small entrance fee. Not a bad place, but it is not worth going all the way from Puebla to this hacienda because there isn't much here besides the facade of the building. Hope this helps my fellow tourists to allocate their time.

I got the opportunity to go on Father's Day. Arrived and the first parking area was reserved for a dog event which had electric car charging parking. We were directed to the next in front of the main entrance. There were entrance fees for adults, kids, fishing permit, fishing bait, and raft rental. Once your in to your right is the Kiosco and then are the food stalls up ahead. To your left are the bathrooms which aren't baby friendly, to your right is the Ex Hacienda. Your able to get a top view, behind the building is a restaurant and to the left is the rafts and picnic area
Overall is a cool place to visit

They have a small restaurant, a fishing club, a couple of souvenir stores and a few restrooms. You can also have a picnic if you come prepared.

Nice place to chill out with your family or a good walking around of the lake but, do not have a big expectation about the castle. The castle is small but beautiful where you can take pictures from outside where you can appreciate the lake and the castle together.
You can explore it, in the last story is a terraza where you can take pictures, on the ground floor you can buy some souvenirs at good prices, the stairs are very narrow and are not suitable and safe for the elderly people or those with mobility problems.
There are activities like, fishing, camping, riding, boating, zip zone and they offer you an excursion to visit the eyes of water and Los Arroyos that are in the upper part of the area.
On the lake is a kiosk if you wish take pictures you have to get earlier before there are many people.
If you follow the stairs to the top you will find the hotel that has a restaurant with a buffet with different delicious dishes and a beautiful view of the lake.
The entrance to the castle has a cost of $40 Adult, $20 Seniors, $10 Children and $20 Parking.
Tips.- Inside of you can find food venders and delicious ice cream. At the parking lot you can find local venders, selling fruit, corn in a cob, pan dulce.
Enjoy your day and keep safe!🙌🏻

Beautiful and quiet. The castle seems to be airdropped from Europe. On a sunny and breeze-less day, the reflecting pond creates a surreal picture. One could easily get lost and forget where he is.

Val'Quirico, a charming European-style village complex filled with boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants, exudes an Italian ambiance. Located in Mexico, this popular tourist destination offers a range of activities and dining options. While some may consider it slightly overpriced compared to California standards, those willing to spend can indulge in luxurious accommodations for around 3500 pesos ($180) per night.
It was a great experience to visit, easy to get to. Parking was ok, got there Friday night.
We stayed in a hotel inside because we wanted to have extra time to explore without the crowds.
There’s some restaurants, lots of stores , few hotels. While dining, there’s live music in different locations. They have construction going on for expansion.
The shops open late, we had hard time getting breakfast because restaurants open late around 9:30 and check out was at 12:00.
Consider couple of days to get to explore all it has to offer, we definitely will visit again. Staying in has an advantage to take pictures early in the morning or late at night, but it’s inconvenient if you want to have a good night sleep.
Walking shoes is a must, heels are nice but it’s hard to walk on stone pathways. Or just have extra shoes. It’s family and dog friendly, more dog friendly than kids really 😁, my daughter is 12 and didn’t have a lot of fun. Don’t know cost of parking since we were staying there. Different types of restaurants, we tried a couple but nothing special really.

Beautiful gorgeous little town. It almost feels like a movie set. A great place to go check out the galleries, have some good food and a glass of wine. Unfortunately the town dies around 7ish. We only found 1 restaurant opened at 8... A great town to visit, tho.

A touch of Italy in appearance. Sunday was quite full. There was a big bicycle event before we got there, if I remember the map showed 2 laps of 36km. Something worthy of a visit with many restaurants and activities. Some would say a tourist trap with prices as if you were in California (almost). I asked at one hotel and it was about 3500 pesos / $180 per night. Some people with the money would like spending there. Parking on the weekend was 100 pesos and 50 during the week. It is very large and easy to feel you could get lost, so plan to walk at least 2 Kms. A feeling of a safe place.

You can tell it is a fake town but it has a lovely vibe. We also had lunch at an italian place, the fiid was very good. It is a good place to spend the day and hang around

It is a nice place to take a stroll and take photos of the medieval-like Italian architecture. You can also have a diverse culinary experience. The best time to visit this place is after 3 pm.

I'm giving survey on entire place NOT HOTEL. Don't be mistaken, this is not a "town". This is more of a amusement park with a carousel and small ferris wheel than a town. It has good not great food. Wine choices were ok but I didn't see any actual Italian food.

We just visited while on vacation. Cozy little area. And the restaurants are amazing there. You get your money's worth well in US dollars.

Got an Uber from Puebla. Found a restaurant that was open and had a cappuccino. It was watery! We were going to have lunch but decided to leave. The security guards offered to get a taxi, but we'd already ordered an Uber.
The village appeared very Tuscan (Yes, we've been there a few times) and, according to one of the store owners, it was a dream of an Italian dignitary and is only 10 or so years old.
It's a 'been there, done that' experience.

I love going there. It is photogenic, full of good restaurants and everything else for a great family excursion. Well worth it for anyone nesrby.

TBH, this place is overrated, period. People visit Val'Quirico to enjoy a Tuscan experience while still in Puebla. The place itself is nicely decorated and well built. Hefty parking rates add to its exclusivity. Dining is disappointing to say the least, food is served cold two out of three times, and bread, the one thing they could have excelled at, is tasteless. They have got the looks, now they just need to make it taste like it.

Dont waste your time and money visiting this place. Only if you want to take a selfie and pretend you are in medieval Euro Disney. There are many real places nearby with more history and real Mexican traditions. No this pseudo Italian, corporate fake town.

A wonderful Italian style town with many restaurants, stores and constant street and Plaza entertainment. Streets are narrow, pedestrian only except for the occasional bike pedaled "taxis", horses and scooters. Mainly for tourists there are full-time residents and a hotel, even apartments for rent. A delightful place to visit and spend a day.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Ocotlan is a stunning church in Mexico, known for its beautiful Churrigueresque facade adorned with white stucco decorations and red tiles. It holds religious significance as the site where the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared in 1541. The main altar features her image, commemorating the apparition. The interior is decorated by indigenous artist Francisco Miguel, who spent 25 years adorning the altarpieces and chapel.
This church seems hidden but really as grandiose as the others
The town seems far but worth visiting. Small town but the church is pretty awesome.
The architecture is worth going there.
Even the christmas tree has spirit. Made out of love.

Our Visit to the Fountain of Our Lady of Ocotlan which means Pine. Our Lady appeared in a Pine tree. There was an epidemic during that time called Cholera. People who were not sick helped the sick and brought water to them. This was after ten years Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to San Juan Diego.
Our Lady of Ocotlan appeared to Juan Diego Bernardino led him to the fountain that heals the sick. The Franciscan friars followed Juan Diego Bernardino and they believed.

This is a really beautiful church, both inside and out. The feeling inside is akin to the Capilla del Rosario in Puebla, but on a humbler, more intimate scale. The facade seems to have been freshly restored as of March 2023.
Try to see the room that's somewhat hidden behind the main altar. It is also lovely but may not be open at the time of your visit.

Beautiful ornate church built on the site where the Virgin of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego.

Beautiful church. The rooms that can be entered through a "secret" door behind the altar have particularly amazing ceilings.
