This park offers breathtaking views of the valley and is perfect for a relaxing afternoon. There are concerts and other activities that happen during the weekend, but there are no restaurants around so you'll need to bring your own food.
This place is definitely a must-see. Great views and great food. Not to mention adorable little creatures.

Decent place to visit when you go in there is a parking lot directly immediately on your left you need to get out and remove the plastic barriers to get in and out. Ask the attendant for help if needed. Parking is free. The canyon views are amazing not much to do but diffuser pretty cool.

Finally went back to that park that Id used to go when I was a kid , in my memories the park was very nice with lots of clean green grass and awesome views of the canyon, was a very beautiful park, now it looks very abandoned, the entrance isn't regulated by any means, no entrance tickets, no person supervising who's getting in, so ive came across a very drugged guy who tried to sell me something ,im very disappointed, at that point surely isn't safe anymore , the view is still impressive but to hang out around there, isn't worth it, hopefully one day they take care of it again and make it a nice familiar park again because it has such potential..

Good veiw, but thats all. You can spent there 20-30 minutes.

Parqué Mirador is a magnificent park with a grand entrance, once inside the first thing you come upon is a statue of Miguel Hidalgo the father of the independence of Mexico. The statue sits on top of a tiny green knoll, and behind it lies the walkway to the lookout. The walkway to the lookout itself is lined with these gorgeous green trees that give off lots of shade. Once at the lookout you will be treated with glorious views of the canyon, there you will see the awesome power of nature. Here the earth has been pushed up and a river has carved a deep canyon. Sitting at about 5000 feet the gaps between the canyons are impressive and if you keep your eyes open you might even spot an Iguana. People of all ages come to enjoy the park, it's a wonderful place to bring the family or that special someone the views are breath taking, there are restrooms and also a resturant.

An absolute must if your visiting Guadalajara about 25 mins out by car
Graham Short — Google review
The best place in the city to do hiking, best season to visit it's in summer after the first rains after everything become green and the sky get blue. At a normal pace, it would take you around 45 minutes to go downhill and reach the historical bridge, and going uphill would take you around 1:15 hours. Definitely a challenging experience you have to try at least once if you live in the city, or if you spend more than 2 weeks in Guadalajara as a tourist and you love nature and exercising.

Breathtaking... literally and figuratively. Be somewhat fit to hike some of the way and enjoy the vistas

Calz. Independencia Norte, Huentitán El Bajo, Guadalajara, Jal., Mexico
The amusement park Selva Magica features a variety of rides for adults and kids, as well as attractions like ziplines. It's located just in front of the Huentitan El Bajo Zoo, which makes it a great option for visitors looking to enjoy both attractions at once. Prices are very reasonable, making it an ideal place to take the whole family.
Nice little amusement park they got ziplines for kids and adults and very cheap

I was surprised, I recommend it, it is a good option to spend a weekend with the family and get out of the routine. It is an economical place. I highly recommend buying the VIP to enjoy the day to the fullest because the lines have poor logistics and are very slow. Also, I recommend bringing drinks and food, because restaurant service takes very long.
The facilities are a little old, but they serve the purpose of entertaining. I recommend arriving early, wearing sunscreen, glasses and a hat because it is a lot of walking and there is no shade in the park.
I do recommend buying tickets online, because you save yourself a very long line, although you also have to wait in line to get the bracelets, but it is much less
janeth s — Google review
Fun, small amusement park in Guadalajara. It is next to the zoo, but you won't have time to see both in one day. The park includes a couple small roller coasters, and a log ride. There is a seaseme street themed area with many rides for young children. Ticket prices vary from basic to full experience, depending on what you want to do. They have some fun zip lines. The restaurants are good, and a hamburger combo will cost about $7. You can get a cold beer for $2.50. One day is enough to do everything. I went on a Sunday, and the line wait time was anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes depending on the ride.

Un clásico parque de atracciones, me encanta. Últimamente, no todos los juegos abren todos los días, pero aún así se disfruta.
Cuentan con un ambiente familiar y precios accesibles. recomiendo ir entre semana.

A classic amusement park, I love it. Lately, not all the games open every day, but it is still enjoyable.
They have a family atmosphere and affordable prices. I recommend going during the week.
Aksel — Google review
This theme park is tasteless.
The attractions are few and even so, many are not available whether they are under maintenance or closed due to the pandemic.
The attractions are pained with some Sesame Street themes and they squeezed every bit of them in the attractions.
Attractions that had nothing to do with the Sesame Street characters were plagued with them, it felt forced, like if the attractions were bought , like some flying dragons and then make it like the Elmo dragons, it felt cheap in some instances.
The staff was kind but sometimes when photos are in the table they push you to buy the photos suddenly.
Despite that the pricing is fair if you get yourself a bargain, but it is like three or 4 good attractions, more like halfway theme park.

Atracciones muy divertidas. Todo muy bien cuidado y el personal muy atento. Varias opciones para comer en el lugar, no es lo mejor en comida y el precio si está elevado. Como en cualquier lugar similar.

Very fun attractions. Everything very well taken care of and the staff very attentive. Several options to eat in the place, it is not the best in food and the price is high. Like any similar place.
Mister Gentleman — Google review
Don’t buy the VIP during the week as all adults games don’t respect the vip pass and you will have to wait in line. Too many games are not working for maintenance. I wasted my money and time for playing 3 games only. So boring and I wouldn’t recommend it
K. T. — Google review
We listened to the reviews and did not give the VIP pass. There didn't seem to be any reason to get a VIP pass. It was a lot of fun. Most of the rides were open and there were no lines. The bullet was under construction. Watch out for the Titan ride. The start of it is extremely jerky!
kevin kevin — Google review
It's a nice place to have fun and there's a lot of mechanical rides, the only think that I didn't like it about this place is the food. There was a terrible long line (even longer than the one for the attractions) and after all the line they sent me to another page to make a line again. So regardless of that I strongly recommend you to get the VIP pass so you can save a lot of time and enjoy more games.
David Astorga — Google review

I like Magic Jungle, I recommend it, and although if there is a line they pass them quickly, the games are good and do not look damaged except for some games in the Sesame section, it is good to go with the family, from an adult to a child you can have fun, the prices are good But I don't like that sometimes some games are not open and it is also good that we can buy tickets at the box office to get on the game we want, the food is good but sometimes the price is a little higher.

Very fun place to spend a Sunday in.
A couple rides are in poor conditions, but generally good.
Skittles350 — Google review

The scenery of Sesame Street is great!!
But I went on a Tuesday and there are many games that are not "coincidentally" in service. The same as the previous Sunday if they were working. So the journey was very fast, it's unfair because you pay anyway.
Michel Garcia — Google review
We went on a Tuesday and there wasn't much of a crowd. The most we had to wait was 5 minutes. We got the VIP pass which came with access to the Commando Training where you are able to do some extreme rope activities such as bungee jump, bungee swing, and a rope course that has you climbing at high altitudes. The VIP pass is worth it just because of the access to the Commando Training we spent most of our time doing the activities there. The rides are pretty fun as well. There is a log ride, go karts, and VR rides.
Some of the rides are a little scary just because they look like they need maintenance.
Omar Guzman — Google review
(Translated by Google)
Neglected playground facilities, the cost-benefit ratio of the VIP pass is not worth it since many attractions are out of service even during the holiday season, good food. Staff attention is good . Signs are missing in the games, general or VIP pass, clean bathrooms ok.
Martin Herrera — Google review
Nice but small, a lot of rides were shut down. So if u want the full experience call ahead and check rides that are up and running.
Cristobal Lira — Google review
Seguramente regresaremos

Very fun, the children had a great time in practically all the games. It's a shame that two or three were closed, but it's understandable why they need to be maintained.
We had a promotion day and that helps the visitors a lot.

C. P.º del Zoológico 600, Huentitán El Bajo, 44390 Guadalajara, Jal., Mexico
The Zoologico Guadalajara is one of the best zoos in Latin America and is home to a wide variety of animals from all over the globe. The gardens are well-maintained and provide plenty of shade, while additional attractions like the Sky Zoo offer a birds' eye view of the animal habitats, as well as a safari experience with close encounters with giraffes, elephants, rhinos, hippos and ostriches.
There are a variety of tickets available which allow you access to different areas. All are very reasonably priced. I got the basic zoo package and really enjoyed the day. The monkey land feature was fantastic and the monkeys were free to run around and up to you. The day does involve a lot of walking and hills which may not be ideal in the heat with children, but you can pay a small amount more for the train or chairlift to avoid that. The only negative I found was how busy some of the areas such as the reptile house were, which meant you were shuffled through quite quickly but we were there on a nday which is the busiest day. Overall, would definitely recommend and if I were to return would buy the ticket add ons for more areas.
Yugal S — Google review
I recommend the Diamond package.
There’s a lot of walking.
Safari ride is rough road *No seat belt*
The train is a one time use with the bracelet.
The skyline has great views. It’s difficult getting on and off.
The aquarium is small. Best part is feeding the manatees. The penguin building smelled horrible. However it was cute seeing the penguins.
As for food
You can bring your own food.
I had popcorn <~Terrible, burnt
Cheeseburger <~ I didn’t like the taste
Nachos <~ great
Quesadilla <~ okay
The facilities are outdated but it’s not a big deal.
Overall it’s a great place to visit.
angie san. — Google review
Very nice zoo! I definitely reccomend bringing comfortable shoes and tons of water since it is very warm. The diamond pass is the best if you would like to experience the park as a whole.
Sofia R — Google review
A once in a lifetime experience. We loved everything about it. The prices are shown in the picture. We bought the “diamante” because it has the sky zoo + aquarium. Once entering you are greeted by the flamingos. On your right there is a food stand. And walk more on your left is the entrance to the train. The train takes you around the whole park. A little ahead is the entrance for the sky zoo. That did not have a line, unlike the train did. I went on the sky zoo first then ate some food and then went on the train. After that we walked around the zoo and towards the end we went on the safari truck that takes you around specific animals that are closed off. My favorite is the sky zoo because it’s unique and you see everything. The train is alright and is quick. I went on a Friday afternoon, to see the whole thing lasted us 5 hours. The gift shops were not so good and pricey. You could go inside the zoo with a bottled water and snacks. The food inside is also expensive but decent. I bought the tickets on the spot in the booth. The wait wasn’t much. Buy the wristbands and place it on and go in.
Melissa — Google review
Well maintained ZOO, there are 3 packages 100, 260, 330 peso. 100 peso for Normal walk through visiting animals. For marine, safari, sky zoo have to buy 260 or 330 peso package. I could suggest get 330 peso package and go morning time 10 am so you can complete all these areas. Foods are available inside zoo. Penguin, Marine, Sky zoo, White Lion, kangaroo are highlights in this zoo. Close to ZOO children's park also there... kindly plan accordingly full day visit for kids with family..
Predivrajan Nagendran — Google review
Nice place to spend time with friends and family. The zoo is so big that I will suggest you to wear comfortable shoes sneakers preferably. They have a lot of activities to do in the zoo. The price of the ticket is reasonable not at all expensive. It includes cable train tour, train ride and many more stuff with in the zoo. You’ll find small cafe to grab something real quick to eat.
Preeti Gupta — Google review
It was very warm but super enjoyable. Employees were super helpful and friendly. I recommend buying the diamond pass, you get to enjoy everything once, the train, safari, aquarium and the sky zoo (recommend doing this towards closing time) it was quiet and you can enjoy listening to the birds.
Magdalena Martinez — Google review
Great way to spend the day with a family. Get the premier pass which has the Safari and the aquarium. Don't miss the views at the end of the park. The eating area is next to a cliff and it's very beautiful.
kevin kevin — Google review
I had really good day at the zoo. It's a one day activity. Thanks for keeping it up. Note: Safari, penguin is not worth the cost. They can improve it.
K. T. — Google review
Came to Guadalajara with my granddaughter who wanted to visit the Zoologico Guadalajara, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how much there was to see. So much greenery...everything was lush, overgrown, trees that have been here for decades. The exhibits were very well designed, for example the monkey areas: cables which supported the netting, as well as the enclosure which allows the animals to go from area to area, a great job. Our favorite was the ride thru the Masai. Wow. You see the many different animals in their natural environments, living in harmony with other animals. You're able to witness the water buffalo, the ostriches, antelopes, alligators of the Nile river. Along with the Elephants, the Rhinos, the Hippos and so much more. There is so much to see and experience within these walls. Come and spend some time, you will be coming back again. 😎👍👍

Good place for kids, the animals look well taken care of, and they have several activities and attractions for the whole family
Cristina Espinoza — Google review
This is a big zoo I had read reviews this was small. There’s a lot of walking a lot of animals recommend taking the sky zoo there they take you on these trams you can see some animals from above very cool. Whatever you do don’t get food here or the horchata it was not good.
Evelyn G — Google review
This zoo is so beautiful and offers so many attractions for the whole family. Super clean and most of the animals were out to see. Well definitely be back.
Gloria Standifer — Google review
At the Guadalajara zoo there are different price points and we opted for the premier which is a short train ride, nice enough and quick. My mom has a disability scooter and I asked the attendant if he's sure they will take care of it because she needs it for long distances and was assured it won't leave the platform if we didn't hand in the number given to us. When the train completed the trip we took it and no one batted an eye or even asked if it was ours so clearly if anyone leaves something with them just know there's a possibility it can be taken. She drove off with it and nobody stopped us, I went around and gave the attendant both numbers and he didn't even ask a question. Do not leave your stuff there because again there is no assurance it will be taken care of. The zoo is ok, it's off the bucket list for a family member that has kids. I was not interested especially with my mom, I really think it needs better operations when it comes to getting off the train and more disability pathways.
Syra Ozaeta — Google review
We had a very short visit so we bought the basic package. We bought the train a sky tram tickets separately. Not sure if it would make sense to buy the diamond package but that price jump is crazy. Either way the zoo is HUGE. Definitely need a whole day to walk through it all. We got to feed the baby deers. So cute! There were plenty of bathrooms and trash cans around. Very clean. Definitely would come back.
Jenny Solis — Google review
What a fun zoo! I was shocked how good it was coming from places like the National Zoo in DC, the San Diego zoo, and point defiance in the PNW. It's not nearly as big as those but it's really well laid out and the sky lift that goes from one end to the other gives you amazing views across the entire zoo.
Sebastian B — Google review
Great time at the Zoo in Guadalajara. It was about $120 pesos for adults for admission. You can buy additional "attractions" once you're inside vs. buying the pass that includes everything before you enter. Fun for kids and family!
Joe Rodriguez — Google review
Really nice zoo. Definitely worth spending part of the day here. I would recommend at least 4 hours to not be rushing.
Jaime Jahuey — Google review
We visit zoos all over the US. and I must say this zoo in Guadalajara is one of the ones that I enjoyed the most. A lot of wide open space for the animals, and they had plenty of opportunities to interact with the animals. Would like to return, highly recommended. Went went on a Wednesday in February, and it wasn't crowded at all.

It used to be interesting with a sort of rural charm; donkey rides, vendors booths and pelícanos in season. Now someone had the stupid idea of removing the attractions and covering the área with astroturf.
It has become sterile and ugly.

The malecon is a great place to hang out, get some drinks or snacks, and take in some of the scenery and culture of Chapala. You need to go a number of blocks off the malecon to find authentic food -- most of the restaurants there cater to gringos. But the food there is very good.

It was beautiful. Went on a weekday so it wasn't too crowded. Also, its a shame that we cannot go further into the cathedral, but i understand it's because of COVID guidelines. It's still the same, so many people trying to sell you candy or cheap metal bracelets/necklaces, just say no thank you and continue walking. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience.

A unique little church tucked away in the middle of this Rancho. Very appealing to the eye as it's beauty lies within the parishioners. As I tour through different places in Mexico the first place I go is to the church. It defines the city or town and this church says the town is poor but it people are rich in spirit and quality of life. Religion is big here and that's what makes this town so beautiful. They may not have much but what they have they are willing to share. This is a place that will greet you with open arms.

Mundo A is an excellent destination to escape the summer heat. The water temperature was not overly cold, contrary to some reviews that stated otherwise. While compared to American water parks it may be slightly cooler, it still provided a refreshing experience. However, there were a few downsides such as certain attractive slides being closed and the wave pool lacking impressive waves.
This place is amazing. We had a great time at minimal cost. There is a store on site for those last minute necessities, as well as a food shack - or you can bring in your own picnic. The prices are all around economical. The staff are super friendly and helpful. From very young child to older adult, you will have a great time. The water slides are awesome!
Javier Ortiz — Google review
Great spot to beat the summer heat. Water was not too cold (other reviews I've read said the water was cold -- compared to American water parks, it's the same. Compared to some other hot-springs-fed water parks it is cooler, but it felt very good and refreshing to me). My only complaints would be that several of the coolest looking slides were not open and the wave pool had pretty anemic looking waves. The only food options I saw were packaged foods like chips and candy; they did have beer, pop and water but no fresh hot food that I could see. Other than that, great spot. We went on a Saturday when it was 85F and it was not crowded and easy to get a table in the shade. Cost was 95 pesos per person, and 40 pesos to rent a two-person tobogan for the day which I recommend!

This water park has good location, it does have a few problems number 1 water is very cold so if you're ok with cold water dip in! The women's restrooms were very dirty other than that it has nice installations and parking is ok also, they play good music one pool area as well also you can't take alcoholic beverages in they'll make you leave them at the gate but you can purchase alcohol inside.

The Templo Expiatorio del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús is a neo-gothic church that was constructed from 1921 to 2013. It boasts a light-filled sanctuary and catacombs, both of which are worth exploring. The church's crypts can be accessed for a fee of around 20 pesos and the bathroom is located behind the building.

The Triumphal Arch of the Causeway of the Heroes is a late 1800s monument with a lion on top, surrounded by fountains and statues. It was built to commemorate independence and marks the start of a beautiful outdoor park area. On weekends, it's bustling with families and friends out for walks while street music fills the air. Parque Zoológico de León offers a plethora of entertainment options for visitors. These include the chance to observe hundreds of animals and participate in activities such as safari tours, miniature train rides, and picnics in designated areas. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitors are not allowed to walk through the zoo but must instead drive through it; however, this provides an interesting perspective on the animals and their habitats.

Great zoo for a first timer! Took our 6 year old here while in Leon for a fútbol tournament. It was his first time and it was a great option. The zoo is not too large or too small. It was a good 3-4 hrs of walking around and taking our time. The animal exhibits are small and the animals weren’t very active but our son had a fun time seeing them up close. The safari ride was fun but not worth the purchase of the package, the package did NOT include everything. Still had to purchase experiences throughout the park. The do not sell anything but soda and water. Tacos near the giraffes are AMAZING!!!!!

This place was amazing! Their prices are very cheap and you get to see a large variety of animals. Some animals you could even see up close. You need at least 2 hours to see most of it. You could turn it into an all day thing if you want. Lots of different animals to see. I definitely recommend the Safari experience, we arrived too late but the train option would have been better.Their orangutan knows sign language. Their white tiger is beautiful. And their bird and reptile areas are a must see. Very impressed.

There is also a food court, perfect for families.
There are also plenty of toy stores, miscellaneous goods stores, and Lego shops for children.
The aquarium was so impressive that I couldn't believe it was an aquarium of the same level as one found in a shopping mall, and I was very satisfied! ️
However, personally, I was carrying a large amount of luggage before the flight, so I thought it would be nice if there were coin lockers.

The Shrine of Christ the King offers breathtaking panoramic views from atop a hill, where visitors can find a 65-ft. bronze statue of Jesus and an art deco sanctuary. However, those planning to drive to the location are advised to check their car coolant and tire air pressure beforehand as the 20-30 minute uphill road is rough and has caused cars to overheat in the past. Bicycling up the hill is also challenging due to the uneven surface.
Before coming to this place by car, make sure to check car coolant and air pressure on the tire. The road is 20-30 minutes uphill and road is bumpy as hell. I saw two cars overheating and there is no auto shop of any kind around. There is parking space on top but you may need to wait until space is open during holidays. Saw some people riding bicycle up the hill and that is both difficult going up and down as road surface is rough. Once you are on the top, 360 Deg. view of all surround area is possible, what a magnificent view from the top. It is worth going up no matter what method you take. Saw many number plates from very far places.

Didn't try the small restaurants for the yummy food that smelled delicious but It's a must see. Very safe atmosphere.

Located atop a hill, this place boasts breathtaking panoramic views of Silao and Guanajuato. You can easily drive to the top of the mountain, and on your way up, you'll come across several refreshment stalls selling mouth-watering quesadillas, tortillas with baked potato, and other delicious snacks. The food is cooked over coal or wood, which gives it a rustic, smoky flavor that's sure to tantalize your taste buds.
The main attraction of this place is the impressive statue, which is grand and visually stunning. The size and grandeur of the statue are awe-inspiring, and it's definitely worth taking some time to admire its beauty.

The Museum of the Mummies in Guanajuato is one of the most popular attractions in this beautiful city. It contains more than a hundred mummified bodies, including those of men, women and children, which is interesting for some people and creepy for others. The museum receives annually the visit of thousands of people.

Really nicely put exhibitions. The wait can be long so we visit just before closing. They offered a guide for a tip. That now I think is encouraged if you would want to know about every mummies. I would say that almost the majority of them have some brief description. Once inside it could be around 20 to 30 minutes. Remember to ask for the photo permit at the window since it's at an additional cost.

I went back to visit this place after 30 years. I always like to see the mummy's and the stories behind the events. I recommend this place. It's better than Egypt. The whole city is amazing and lots of culture and all the tunnels and hills are breath taking scenery.
Beny Calvillo — Google review
Less than $5 for entry. Plan on spending 30 minutes to view the entire museum. The Mummies of Guanajuato are a number of naturally mummified bodies interred during a cholera outbreak in Guanajuato in 1833. The human bodies appear to have been disinterred between 1870 and 1958. During that time, a local tax was in place requiring a fee to be paid for "perpetual" burial. Some bodies for which the tax was not paid were disinterred, and some—apparently those in the best condition—were stored in a nearby building. The climate of Guanajuato provides an environment which can lead to a type of natural mummification, although scientific studies later revealed that some bodies had been at least partially embalmed. While a bit creepy, I enjoyed learning about the history of the mummy collection (100+) and the history of the area.
Kelly L — Google review
It's ok. Small (which is fine). I'm sure it was only a few cents more to go to the second museum, but it was underwhelming. Instead of letting the bones and mummies stand on their own, they added a bunch of Halloween type stuff. Silly. I would have enjoyed it more had there been more stories or even just more descriptions of the years they were buried and exhumed. The cemetery behind is large and worth seeing if you haven't spent much time in Mexican cemeteries. Chaotic and interesting.
Laurie Powsner — Google review
The line was super long, over a 2 hour wait. I think I would have had a better experience had it not been for the line. Glad I got the experience but I wouldn't wait 2 hours again. The museum it's self is small, you are in and out in 20- 30 minutes at most.

I totally amazing adventure through the beautifully presented Museum of the mummies. A fairly intense experience as many of them have been so wonderfully preserved.
Mark ONeill — Google review
An intensely grotesque must see experience.
It's not for the feint of heart.
The smallest mummy in the world, a 6 month old fetus, lies inside.
I would say maybe 30-50 mummies are inside.
They are well preserved with hair, skin, and nails intact.
Don't miss it
John Kay — Google review
I have visited the Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato many times and have always had a great experience. The museum is home to a collection of naturally mummified bodies that were discovered after being exhumed from graves in the Santa Paula Cemetery in Guanajuato, Mexico. The mummies are one of the biggest tourist attractions in the state and are displayed in the museum for visitors to see.
Every time I visit the museum, I am amazed by the history and preservation of the mummies. The museum has over a hundred mummies in its inventory, each with its own unique story. The origin of the mummies dates back to 1865 when the first mummified body was exhumed from the Santa Paula Cemetery. This body belonged to the French doctor Dr. Remigio Leroy. From then until 1958, more mummified bodies were discovered due to the special conditions of the subsoil of the place, combined with the presence of nitrates and alum.
I have taken many friends from all over the world to visit the Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato and they have all been fascinated by the collection. The museum is located on the esplanade of the Santa Paula cemetery and its origin dates back to the discovery of the first mummies in 1865. In its early days, the discovered mummies were stored in the catacombs of the cemetery, which could be visited accompanied by the gravedigger.
If you are interested in visiting the Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato, you can check their hours, prices, and routes to get to the museum on their official website. Don’t miss this interesting collection!

Very cool place! Learn so much about the history of Mexico. While tours are not available in English, the Spanish tour guide was very detailed and would be happy to answer any questions. The guide was free in Spanish. Cool place and really gets you thinking of the history the city has.

The museum does not encourage the level of respect these human bodies deserve. The parents of little children should encourage them to behave appropriately. These are not haloween dolls. The coffin at the end of the exhibit for taking fun pictures with the Instagram hashtag should be removed. Otherwise, it is a once in a life experience that brings you closer to the true nature of human existence.

Super intense creepy yet oddly compelling. The dear little mummy babies are so moving & sad yet it's impossible not to feel fascinated. A fantastic museum.
Intelligent Tiger — Google review
Exploitative. While the mummies are kept in a climate controlled environment, their preservation is suspect. These PEOPLE are being displayed as curiosities, propped upright with limbs sometimes reattached with tape (incorrectly) to be viewed. If an individual or family could not pay for burial services for the years required (a tax in place until 1958), remains were exhumed and if naturally mummified by the conditions, were added to the collection for display. Which means that there are potentially people alive today, whose relative is on display at this museum.
Do not buy the full package for $120 pesos. It includes an additional room that is meant to be ‘scary.’ Here, bones are scattered and displayed as though the individual has been tortured, a so-called vampire has a stake through the heart, and a full skeleton is on display.
A note for the museum, because I hope you see this. That skeleton is completely wrong. You have a cervical vertebrae in the lumbar region, the entire pelvis (the inominates and the sacrum) are upside down, one femur is upside down and they have been incorrectly sided, you have metatarsals as phalanges, and ulna and radius in place of a tibia and fibula and a fibula up with the humerus. It would take no time to fix this - and images of how to properly lay out a skeleton can be easily googled. This was a person. Have some respect.

It's a must-see when visiting Guanajuato, it gives an insight into the town's history, how bodies are naturally mummified due to the soil and weather conditions in the area, plus other factors. My only complain is with the people visiting, many kids and families go there thinking it's a spooky ride or haunted mansion, which it is not, so if you visit with kids please have some respect and let the tour guide speak instead of interrupting every time, these are real bodies, your level of respect sould be equal to when visiting a cemetery.
JL F (MrPoe87) — Google review
It's a good place to understand a lot of things about humans. But I think that if you have claustrophobia please don't visit this place. Lol. It's a place to visit once a lifetime.
Jonathan Kafie — Google review
I was there on Tuesday morningng and there wasn't any line. As for the mummies, I don't know what to think of it. Most of the mummies aren't very old and were dug out only a couple of years after their death to make room for the new cadavers because there was no one (or wasn't able) to pay to keep the bodies in the graves.

Narrow alley with steep steps known for a tragic love story that draws couples to its site to kiss.

While this place has a romantic and yet tragic story of 2 lovers, I didn't care for the long line to take a kissing photo with your beloved and the charge of $ that comes along with it. There are plenty of mining tunnels and romantic backdrops for photo opportunties.
Ruth Rodriguez — Google review
Kissing Alley is an interesting place, but rainy weather can reduce the excitement of playing. This place is really worth visiting, though.
陈旭 — Google review
We had a great experience here. Do some homework first and you'll enjoy the experience.
Knowing the legend beforehand we and having seen pics we just wanted a photo but over the festival weekend it had hundreds of people in line. We asked before and were told it was mxn $50 to get on the balcony. We deduced immediately this would be mxn $50 each since we would each go to separate balconies. The guy telling the legend and taking pictures with your phone/camera does it for tips and he does it well and takes many great pictures.
The fun for us was in the crowd, both watching them as well as having them cheer as we kissed and cheering as they kiss. It was really a great festive environment.
If crowded or on the weekends they open the balcony at noon. Just show up a few minutes early and you shouldn't have to wait. It's likely not crowded during the week or when large events aren't going on.

Adorable 💋The Alley of the Kiss, Guanajuato (El Callejon del Beso) is a narrow alley in the city of Guanajuato, which was the centrepiece of a tragic romantic tale that was based on true events. This story of failed young love is a time-honoured Mexican favourite.

Callejón del Beso holds a special place in my heart. It was the spot where my wife and I felt the most in love with each other. Whenever we visit, we're transported back in time to that magical moment when we shared a kiss on the balcony. It's a memory that will stay with us forever. lol
SIRLUNA (David) — Google review
The legend of “El Callejón del Beso” in Guanajuato says that if a couple visits this place and kisses right on the third step of this alley, they will have happiness for seven long years. But whoever doesn't and passes through the place will have seven years of very, very bad luck. It's an old legend. It's a crowded spot, so be ready to wait.

The Pipila Monument on a hill above the old town has panoramic views of the colorful city. There is also a funicular to get up to the observation deck.
Awesome view of the town. 3 ways to get up there. First is a taxi. Second is a a little Tram train that goes up the mountain. Third is climbing thru the sidewalks that go up the mountain. Having a drink at the top is worth the effort.

Beautiful view. A fun ride up the tram. Tons of vendors at the top to buy souvenirs anurse and lots of guides to tell you the history. Definitely worth definitely worth checking it out and at least seeing the view. Lots of different alleys & shops to explore.

Very nice place to relax at the end of the day. Good vista point too. There are also some vendors up here. Busier during the weekends. Use the funicular to get up here. Or don't use the funicular, take the steps and get some exercise😂. It's hard though.

What a monument! What a view! Not only that but there are convinient vendors all around to enjoy a gordita and refreshing drink (that's a cantarito). All while enjoying the picturesque city below. Definitely take the tram and enjoy!

Very large statue of the first hero of Mexican war of Independence. The statue has a large viewpoint located next to it, there are also many vendor stalls behind it but do bring cash as the vendors do not accept credit cards and i did not see an ATM up there. The statue can be accessed for a nominal fee, something like 30 pesos, but there is not a whole lot inside and the viewing area is a claustrophobic glass cage with poor ventilation.

Definitely a MUST, whether it is during day or night I doubt there's another spot from which you can enjoy such a nice view of the city or Guanajuato.
Near there you can find a lot of typical Mexican snacks I had a "Guacamaya" which is a "torta" (sandwich) made out of pork rinds with avocado, tomato hot sauce lime and it's delicious 🤤 ...

Don’t stop at the door - make sure to walk inside this beautiful theater and take a look at its ornate decor. While the exterior is impressive, it is worth the 35 peso admission fee to enter. Be aware that it is closed for a few hours in the middle of the day. Also, if there is a performance in the evening it may not be open to visit. We kept our eye on it for a couple days before finally finding the entry open for visitors. Worth it.

The imposing pink spires of the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel are a sight to behold, and this famous church is well known for its gothic architecture. Legend has it that the architect designed the place of worship based only on a postcard he had seen of a Gothic church in Belgium. The interior of the church is spacious and colorful, with images of local saints lining the walls and vivid scenes from the crucifixion depicted on them.
Impressed with this place! On the inside even better. A must see if you stop by San Miguel de Allende.

The Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, located in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, is a stunning and iconic church known for its unique architecture and historical significance. Here are some key aspects:
Architectural Significance: The church is renowned for its neo-Gothic style, particularly its striking façade. The design is attributed to Zeferino Gutiérrez, a self-taught architect who was reportedly inspired by Gothic churches in Europe, particularly the great cathedrals of France. This inspiration is evident in the spires and intricate details of the exterior.
Historical Background: The original church on this site was built in the 17th century. However, the current iconic façade was constructed in the late 19th century. This period was marked by significant political and social changes in Mexico, and the church's evolution reflects some of this history.
Cultural and Religious Importance: San Miguel Arcángel holds a central place in the religious and cultural life of San Miguel de Allende. It's not only a place of worship but also a symbol of the city. Its image is often used in representations of the town and is a major draw for tourists.
Location and Community: Situated in the heart of San Miguel de Allende, the church contributes significantly to the town's status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town is known for its well-preserved historic center, vibrant arts scene, and cultural festivals, with the church often playing a role in these events.
Tourist Attraction: For visitors, the church is a must-see landmark. Its unique architecture stands out among the colonial buildings of San Miguel de Allende, making it a popular subject for photography and a central starting point for exploring the town.
In summary, the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel is not just a religious site but also an architectural marvel and a symbol deeply embedded in the cultural fabric of San Miguel de Allende. Its unique style and historical significance make it a highlight for both locals and tourists alike.

Beautiful botanical garden. About 30 min walk from city center. Going is all up hill and pretty steep or take a taxi. Walk is through a very nice upscale neighborhood and beautiful houses. It’s a great place for a slow walk or nice hike. The grounds are very pretty. Lot of cacti and succulents. Very clean and well kept. Nice cafeteria for a cold drink and snack after a long walk. Admission is $80MEX per person. I’d say it’s worth it. I arrived at around 10am and there was no line to enter and plenty of parking available — although I was on foot.
I took the trail over the dam to the furthest boundary at the top of the property and was impressed by the quiet and the bird life. The cactus were flowering too which was a joy. Also on the water there is a multitude of bird species, waders, ducks, and swallows.
The ruins are pretty cool and there’s plenty of interesting info.
There’s a small cafe and gift store.

There are many species of cactus and nice views overlooking the canyon. The path is generally leveled and accessible. There is an alternative path into the canyon which is an adventurous experience for those who want to see more. Make sure to bring proper shoes, sun protection, and enough water.
The visitor's centre is beautiful and there is a lot of useful info about the history of the place. Highly recommended for a visit.

This place is so worth it! At first you think it's going to be just some out buildings with cactus samples inside, the dirt trails seem very low end, but once you get down near the lake edge and beyond you will see the most beautiful landscape along the dam and the beautiful rocky cliffs and a giant old aqueduct from who knows how long ago, the remains of an old mill from the 1500s!!! I even saw a juvenile Black crown night heron just sitting in a tree next to the path if you didn't notice him you'd walk right by. Make sure you go all the way in!

A tranquil, expansive park just a few minutes outside of the historical center. I came in the morning and was one of the only visitors. I enjoyed a peaceful walk along the water surrounded by birds and native plants. Definitely a highlight of my time in San Miguel!

My family loves walking here. The views of he city are spectacular and the cactus ate gigantic. Go early because it can get really hot.

This botanical garden is almost all native plants and due to the climate, mostly cactus or similar types, however they do have a small lush area. The paths are dirt and wind through the garden. Bring something cool to drink as it can get very hot. Downside is you cannot meander on your own and have to go through with a group and a guide.

A bit out of the way from the city but very interesting place to visit if you want to see dessert plants. Plan around 2-3hrs to see everything that they have. Inside the garden it was a lot of walking and you can even cross the dam to explore the other side. If you go on the west loop you can see a gorgeous view of a canyon. One of the more interesting places to visit if you are tired of souvenir stores and restaurants.
We took a taxi there which should cost about $90 but to come back we had to walk back to the main road to flag down a taxi. The second taxi driver charged us $150 to go back to the city.

A very beautiful place to visit. Peaceful and lovely to walk around. I give four stars only because it seemed to me like the woman at the reception/gift shop doesn’t like foreign tourists or maybe specifically Americans? I’ve been wondering all day if it’s us being American or maybe even my boyfriend being Asian. Anyway, I don’t think her animosity was deserved towards people who are just quietly visiting this place. My only interactions were buying admission and buying a few things from the gift shop but I just felt like she was upset we were there. Hostile and strange.

Love this little out of the way heaven...quiet and serene. Beautiful gardens, green houses, ponds with fish and tadpoles, fountains and a seemingly endless variety of high desert plants and animals...80 pesos to get in. Great gift shop, little food court, clean bathrooms, and nice little museums. Go during the cooler parts of the day. Have on walking shoes.

Photos don't do this park justice! It was the best 50 pesos I spent on my trip to San Miguel. The highlights for me were walking the trail closest to the majestic canyon and admiring the peaceful conservatory. We walked from downtown but I'd highly recommend going by car or taxi because it was steep uphill the whole way. The visitor center staff was very friendly and called a taxi for us when we left.

What an amazing place! Our visit to El Charco was a highlight of our time in San Miguel de Allende. The preserve is beautiful and the work happening here is very important. The visitor center is impressive and informative. The conservatory was gorgeous and there’s art to discover along the many trails. Helpful staff and an affordable entrance fee. Go in the morning if it is hot. And arrive by Uber or taxi and save your legs to walk around the preserve!

(Translated by Google) Everything is very delicious, the chorizo pambazos with potatoes are very delicious, and the chicharrón quesadillas too, the suadero is very delicious and the shredded meat is the same. They have a variety of soft drinks and also sell water, the atmosphere is very good and those who serve are very friendly. Definitely going to San Miguel is also going to try these appetizers. Highly recommended!!! :)
