Beautiful area and lots of food, shops, museums, cultural art and history!
Nathaniel O'Brien — Google review
There's a pair of wings stand in the middle of the boulevard, right in front of the museum, I believe that explains it all about how much Mexican value "freedom" and probably "imagination".
The basement of museum demonstrates the history of this building, was first built as a church, and then a hospital, and once Father Miguel Hidalgo was prisoned here at a tiny little cell. And now as the core museum of Chihuahua city.
There's a exhibition of David Alfaro Sequerios, one of the activists of Mexican wall painting civil activity back in early 20th century, which they campaign their proactivity through paintings on the wall, as a way of propaganda, you can definitely get their messages from one or more displays art works.

The museum is gorgeous. They have some temporal expositionsand then the main museum. The area I liked most is where they explain the different ecosystems that lie within the state. I never thought that it had so much diversity!!! If you have time, drop by! You won't regret it. Also, the entrance is super cheap.

Love the exhibits, the music concerts (free most of the time) and the kids and adults workshops (for a small significant prices compared to private workshops) its a beautiful musem in a historical site, which used to be the old postal service main facility and before that also included a special dungeon where Miguel Hidal was incarcelated while waiting the day of his death sentence execution. Its a must. Check out the FB page and get notified of all the amazing activities.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Chihuahua is a stunning 18th-century colonial church located in the elegant Plaza de Armas. It is considered one of the most important religious monuments in northwestern Mexico and is a must-see during a city tour.
I did not enter the church ( cuz I might burst into flames lol) but spent a lot of time examining the details of the facade which is a master piece! Intricate details, real throw-back references to the "old church" such as St Francis holding a skull. The artist signed the work in a clever way. I could look at the facade for hours and some day I might return to do just that!
Mandolinman58 — Google review
It's ok. Surely beautiful as many other cathedrals in Mexico, but if you've seen others before probably you'll not be amazed.
Looking around is good, but having a tourist guide surely could improve the rate.
Near you can find a couple of museums. And maybe eat some fast food.
If you fancy to buy some typical boots near you have many options.

The main historic cathedral in Chihuahua, right across the street to the city hall.
There's a historic site park and square in between cathedral and city hall, its such a lovely walk from one side to another.
People take their time chilling and enjoying the sunshine here.
The cathedral itself is of course phenomenon, the two towers symbolise the prestige and heritage of Chihuahua.

Quite a stunning example of Renaissance architecture in the New World. I am not a religious person but certainly appreciate the dedication, devotion, and determination needed to erect this monument to God... and all without the use of machinery and other tools we take for granted today. Amazing both inside and out.

Very old building still showing the opulent way some chihuahua people enjoyed back on those years before the 1910 revolution. French inspired house and furniture.
First let me say the ticket fee is $34 pesos and $10 pesos fee permission to take pictures which is a must.
Customer asistencia is beyond excellent. Anyone there is friendly and so willing to answer any questions about the house.
In the first room there’s art of local artists on display. A nice bedroom , the two way stairs, continuing to the right is the side exit and finally de arts room. Yes : music ! Along the beautiful artistic decoration of the chairs and piano. And on the upper rooms that notable people donate to display permanently there.
Quinta Gameros is a great piece of history that anyone can enjoy and learn about our country and our people.
Also there’s a QR code on a poster just outside the front of the house so people can do a virtual tour ( this was started at the begging of pandemia).
It’s a very enjoyable experience learning ( again for me 🤓) about Chihuahua history and it’s notable people.

Used to be a mansion built for Manuel Gameros Ronquillo, a member of the Porfirian elite. Construction started in October 1907 and finished in November 1910, just as the Mexican Revolution was commencing. Gameros and his family fled to the United States in 1913, now an Historic National Monument of Mexico.
Quinta Gameros was given to Venustiano Carranza as his personal residence and office in April 1914. Following a dispute with Villa, Carranza left the city and the Quinta Gameros would go on to be used for various purposes during the war, including as government offices and as a military hospital.
Quinta Gameros currently houses the Centro Cultural Universitario Quinta Gameros, a regional museum of Mexico.
There were group wedding commenced wheh we visited it at the sunny Saturday afternoon, the all-dressed-up newly weds and their guests, decorated the mansion like a fairytale palace.

The Museo Histórico de la Revolución in Leon, Nicaragua offers a comprehensive overview of the Nicaraguan revolutionaries who fought against the Somoza dictatorship. It covers national history from the 1972 earthquake to the Sandinista overthrow. Former revolutionaries serve as guides, providing firsthand accounts of their roles in the conflict. The museum is located in a residential suburb and was once home to General Francisco Pancho Villa, a key figure in the Mexican revolution.

Great place to visit. A must see. House of the once richest man in Mexico and friend of Pancho Villa. The place is very well preserved. Parral has several interesting touristic "hot spots" - the only "problem" is that it's best to visit on a journey from north to south (or vice versa), as a car ride from any big city takes hours and hours. I'm not fully Catholic, but I enjoy visiting churches, and even though this cathedral was remodeled, it still keeps a lot from it's original building date.

A great format (underground tunnel like an old mine) lots of incredible rocks and geology on display. A shame that only a few of the boards are translated into English otherwise would be a 4 star!

They charge $40 pesos per person and at the end they take a photo of you. It is not mandatory to buy it but one costs $120 printed, it is worth it for the recommended souvenir to go with the family

The Francisco Villa Museum showcases the Mexican Revolution through a captivating display of murals, artworks, and documents within an 18th-century palace. This historical treasure trove offers original materials that bring to life the events of that era. The museum's colonial charm, enhanced by modern updates, creates a bright and airy atmosphere. For a small donation, visitors can request a knowledgeable guide who will provide in-depth insights into the politics and significance of figures like Poncho Villa.
Amazing place to know the truth history of Francisco Villa

Excellent museum telling the story of 1910-20 Mexican Revolution through the experience of Francisco Villa.
It's all in Spanish though, so aprender a leer Éspanol.
Beautiful art end artifacts even if you can't read Spanish it's a great way to spend an hour and 25 pesos.

To witness the beauty of Durango at its finest, one must venture to the remarkable Mirador de los Remedios. This captivating location offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire city, providing a delightful visual feast. Visitors can embark on a pleasant stroll to reach the pinnacle or opt for an exhilarating Aerial Tramway ride, both offering enchanting perspectives. As day transitions into night, moments around sunrise and sunset unveil truly mesmerizing vistas.
Ride the Teleferico (for 60 mexican dollars round trip) across the hill, and you'll get a great view overlooking the whole Durango town. It's a great place just to relax - alone or with your family.
Virginia James — Google review
Good place to visit during the night or in the day light. It’s on the top of the hill and you can see the whole Durango city. In pandemic the things were closed but there are some activities to do.

Amazing lookout spot over the entire city of Durango. There are great views all day, but times near sunrise and sunset are the best. The gondola ride each way is another great way to get a view of the city, and the price is cheap.

If you want to see Durango in it's finest, you have to make your way up here. A wonderful view, a nice walk to the top, and you can take an Aerial Tramway on your way down, and have a nice meal in the restaurant at the bottom (you can also take the aerial tramway on your way up)

El Saltito is a captivating destination that showcases the mesmerizing beauty of nature. Despite visiting during the dry season, which resulted in the absence of waterfalls, it remains an enchanting place to explore. Situated near a dormant volcano, this location offers breathtaking views of volcanic rock formations. The scorching heat during the day adds to its unique charm.

This place was beautiful. An oasis in the middle of the desert. Admission charge 15 pesos. Falls are only 200 meter walk from the road entrance so good for the physically challenged.

You pay to go down to river, not good, there's only one way, cars coming back it is very dangerous, very difficult to pass. Very beautiful down at river, not much water. A few places selling drinks.

Spectacular view of the waterfalls. I wish the Durango tourism could do more to entice more people to come. Unfortunately, the entrance to this place was closed today, but my group was able to manage to get through from different entry point. I noticed others also did that, and others follow suit. The gatekeeper of the day, Señora Ramos, finally opened one of the gates to let people who got there from other entry ways to go out. Señora Ramos collected from us a fee of 50 mexican dollars each (exit fee, huh??) What a shame for her to do that to tourists. There's no proper regulations.
This place is magnificent. It has a great history of how these waterfalls are created. I love its story of creation.
Virginia James — Google review
It was not rainy season so the waterfalls were dry but it is still a beautiful place. This is a dormant volcano so you can see the volcanic rock. Super hot during day but I would definitely go back!

Was there during the dry season, so no waterfalls. Beautiful place to visit. Did get there late so I didn't have much time to explore. I would like to go back and hike down to the water and through the trees.

Sierra de Órganos National Park, renowned for its striking rock formations resembling organ pipes, is a captivating and untouched sanctuary. Home to cougars and coyotes, this rugged reserve has attracted numerous Hollywood movies due to its natural enchantment. Visitors can immerse themselves in the breathtaking views and peaceful ambiance of the park, spending days exploring the diverse angles of these magnificent rock structures.
I love this place. One can spend days and days seeing all the rock formations from different angles. Many movies have been filmed in this place. Natural enchanted place. It's best to stay on the local cabins for a few days. They were $650.00 Mexican pesos (around $ 35.00 US dollars) and sleep up to 6 people.

My wife and I were visiting back in 1988 and were lucky to be here when a Hollywood movie was filming in the area. The movie was called REVENGE and starred Kevin Costner who at that time was at the beginning of his career with The Untouchables and Bull Durham being big hits and he just finished shooting Field Of Dreams in Iowa that summer.

I visited on a Sunday morning, and there were about 3 couples and families visiting.
Pay 50 pesos when entering the gate by car.
From there, we drove inside and found a parking lot about 3 minutes away, where there was a space where you could have a barbecue.
If you park your car and walk along the road, then follow the sidewalk from the back of the road, and it will take you about an hour to complete a complete loop.
It takes about two and a half hours from Centro in Zacatecas, but I think it's worth a visit.
