Fantastic place to visit and see the animals. The staff were friendly and very insightful. I love the set up of the park, especially with the train. The train makes it easy for anyone to move around the park and not miss any of the sights & sounds. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area, you will not regret it!

This place is incredible! Visiting from the States, of course the animals are nothing like I've ever seen before. That alone is amazing in and of itself. However, the layout and landscape were truly spectacular. Nothing like you would get from a zoo or aquarium at home. I felt my inner child come out and be thrilled at all the animals in a very natural habitat. The staff was terrific and knowledgeable. I loved how spread out and open all the habitats are. The kangaroos were available to feed and pet (not the joeys!) and watch as though I was in their natural environment. The real treat were the koalas. So many babies!!! I couldn't believe how long I could stand and watch the mamas and babies together. The refreshments are reasonably priced and delish. I was delighted and my experience exceeded all expectations.

Amazing value for money! There is so much to see with educational boards throughout the sanctuary. For a dollar coin donation you can feed the lorikeets at 8am, this was by far my favourite experience! Within the day pass you also get access to feedings, shows and talks. I could easily spend all day there! You can roam at your own pace too. I highly recommend booking a day pass if you are ever in the Gold Coast, you won't want to miss out on this amazing experience, trust me!! I will definetly return, it was so much fun.
Ashleigh Stam — Google review
I love Currumbin -it's even better than all the other animal sanctuaries and zoos in QLD. I think that the simplified list of shows throughout the day needs to be more easily accessible on the website but it is so much fun to visit, even if you only make one or two shows. If you CAN only make one, be sure it's the 10:45am or 2:15pm wild skies free flight show on the opposite side of the sanctuary to the entry -easily the best free flight show around. Accessibility for mobility impaired persons and people with prams is far better than anywhere else too. This is a really special experience.

A hidden gem, smack bang in the middle of the Southern Gold Coast. A tranquil slice of heaven from the moment you arrive. The park is maintained impeccably and the layout invites you to meander around the whole day. The animals are well cared for and the site boasts a very busy wildlife hospital. There's several shows and activities each day to cater for the entire family. A trip on the custom park train is a must, especially if you have little ones. A definite destination to include when you visit the Gold Coast.

What a wonderful place! Staffs are friendly, park is very well maintained. All the animals looks really happy and well fed. 😄 Weather was perfect in June too. We had an absolutely great time here. Prepare some light snacks for your kids and take the tram! Highly recommended to visit the in house animal hospital. When we were there, they were treating a koala and visitors can view from the outside transparent glass panels.

This was the highlight of our trip. The animals were beautiful. The keepers were so helpful and shared great information. The volunteers were incredible and so helpful
The birds in flight show is amazing.
Remember the kids swimmers, the splash pad is very refreshing on a hot day
The food was nice. Sadly not a lot of lorikeets at the wild feeding but they are wild so they can’t control that

A great time with my daughter and the Lima’s in their enclosure. We met Sam the snake and had loads of photo ops with various exotic and native animals of Australia. Pay the admission fee, you won’t be disappointed- and you with contribute to a wonderful space!

Our family recently visited Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to celebrate our granddaughter's second birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The sanctuary's stunning natural surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for a day of exploration and adventure.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly seeing the joy on our granddaughters' faces as they encountered the incredible variety of animals. From cuddly koalas to playful kangaroos, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The girls were mesmerized by the interactive shows and thrilled to learn about conservation efforts to protect these precious species.
The staff at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary were exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure that our visit was memorable. Their passion for wildlife conservation was evident in every interaction, and we left feeling inspired to do our part in protecting our planet's natural treasures.
Overall, our day at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to return. It's truly a gem on the Gold Coast, offering a perfect blend of education, entertainment, and natural beauty. We highly recommend it to families looking for a fun and educational day out."

We had a wonderful day. My 11 yr old grandson did the Tree Top Challenge he loved it. I tried i did the first part but had to give up not bad for a 72 yr old. The staff were great about helping me get back down. The whole place is a wonderful day out there is so much to do.

Started off 2023 with a bang. This place is awesome....better than a certain well known Australian zoo. I say this for a few reasons - the cost is reasonable (and comparable), the range of animals is great, everything is well spaced out but not too far for walking, plenty of shows through the day, wandering wildlife (with volunteer staff) which you can occasionally interact with, it's super clean, not over crowded and the cost for food and drink is also reasonable. The quality of the meals was great too.
We spent a full day meandering around and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Please keep in mind when reading this, this is a wildlife park, not a zoo so, no elephants and tigers type animals, mostly native and rescued international animals.
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable too.
This place is definately family friendly.
Thank you for an awesome day!

All the staff here are super friendly. As someone who comes here a lot, make sure to visit the
the bird habitat. It is nice and quiet and feels like a different world all together. Also check out the turtle place. The rushing water background noise is calming and good for meditation.. Busiest days are usually Saturday and Sunday.

A nice day out. I spent two hours there in total. The queue to buy tickets moved fast. Nice to see all aussie animals. Staff were lovely and friendly. Toilets clean. Good coffee in the reception area. Felt it was expensive for what it was. It's quite small.
Maeve O' Connell — Google review
We enjoyed the bird show, Dino trail and blinky bill, 2 more shows in the afternoon is quite a long wait after the morning shows. I wish they can put more shows. The mini train is convenient. Be sure to bring your water/drinks and snacks as it can be quite expensive ($6/bottle & & $4 for small packet of chips😊), the hot food is fair price.

This was a great sanctuary..well groomed cared for and wonderful volunteers. I bought annual passes for me and my son. We will be back soon!! Parking is $10 per car unless a member then it's free. Plus the membership includes a 15% discount in the gift shops. The bird show was incredible!! Enjoy your visit!!
Kathy Robinson — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed this place…
We arrived 15 minutes late for the bird feeding but that didn’t stop the hundreds of wild birds still getting fed and handled by us ❤️ a professional photographer is at the park capturing moments - many free! And the photos are so cheap to buy!!
❤️ volunteers are walking around with snakes, koalas etc for you to pat
❤️ bird show was the best one yet!
❤️ trains took you back and forth
Staff and volunteers were so friendly- food reasonably priced.
Liz Moore — Google review
This place was great, not as big as some other wildlife parks, but still well kept. Nice tidy grounds and very friendly informative staff. The animals look well looked after also. Grab the free train if you tire from all the walking.

This place is awesome, better than a certain well known Australian zoo.
The price is reasonable-value for money.
Fantastic place to visit and see the animals. The staff were friendly and very insightful. I love the set up of the park, especially with the train. The train makes it easy for anyone to move around the park so you won’t miss any show.

Visiting this sanctuary is a must! So many fun things to observe and experience for people of all ages. The koalas, kangaroos, reptiles, birds and many more. Beautiful daily shows and my favorite was the Wildskies bird show. The colorful Lorikeets feeding is a refreshing and lively experience. The dinosaurs trail is a fun and interactive way to learn about dinosaurs. There is also the activity of Zip lining which is suitable for older children and adults. Highly recommended. My one and only recommendation for the management is to keep the restaurants open until the sanctuary closes, as it's difficult to catch up with the shows and have a good meal after them.
Haya Al Sadah — Google review
Amazing experience in a gorgeous animal paradise. The koala breakfast was the crown jewel, and I highly recommend it. We got to pet koalas multiple times, take great photos and learn a lot about them, the food was delicious, and you also get early park access so you can go see other animals before anyone else enters the park. The echidna encounter was a fluke and I would not recommend it. Friend the kangaroos and petting them was a treat that will last us a lifetime. The red panda was the most beautiful creature I’ve seen. And the lemurs were hilarious, tanning around in the most intriguing poses. The one bad/terrible thing that must to be changed is the diesel train. Not only does it pollute the environment for us humans and the animals they’re trying to rescue, but it just smells terrible and made us sick. And one thing that should be improved are the bathrooms.
Esteban — Google review
I haven’t been here in like 15 years, and as much as it’s improved, it’s also just the way it was..and that’s perfect!!
Plenty of amenities available in all sections of the sanctuary.
The little trains are awesome and get you around nice and quick. They take strollers, so not to worry.
All of the exhibits were fantastic. Stroll through an aviary; catch up with the lemurs, red panda, tassie devils, wombats, among many other species.
You can have your photo taken with a koala, which is an amazing experience.
Unfortunately the kangaroo field is largely closed due to, what looks like, an AMAZING upgrade that should open in the near future. You can still meet many kangaroos, and feed them for just $2.
The water play area is a great addition. It is probably suited towards kids 1-4 years old.
We look forward to coming in the future.

This place is great! I totally recommend visiting here on your own or as a family. Me and my family came here quite a few times when we lived in Australia and it is such a lovely welcoming place. The staff are brilliant and so kind and talkative which really adds to the whole experience. My favourite part is the bird feeding where you can feed the wild birds and they are so tame considering they are wild because of all the love they receive here and food of course 😂. The kangaroo encounter is also lovely as they are very calm and comfortable around people and have a nice large environment to live in. This whole zoo is beautiful and so worth visiting :)

Despite having visited the Gold Coast on many occasions, I had never visited the Sanctuary and, despite the rather steep entry price, I was really very impressed. In fact, I think it was worth the money spent. The enclosures looked well thought out for the different animals, the notices are well worded and informative, and the different sections provided plenty of interest for all ages. I went with my daughter and her two children aged 5 and 3. If you feel so inclined you can even try the ziplines (height dependant). The area is huge, but there is a train if you get too tired (or hot!), although the kids can cool off in the water park, so bring togs! There's also a playground.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is an amazing place where you can encounter a variety of Australian flora and fauna. Here, you can meet kangaroos, koalas, and greet various birds, including beautiful lorikeets. It's the perfect place for a family outing, where everyone will find something interesting. Additionally, the park hosts various shows and presentations, allowing guests to get closer to the local wildlife.

We did some research on the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary while planning a trip to the Gold Coast and it was well worth the visit.
We booked in to do the grazing with the koalas (afternoon tea) which got us up close to them and we were able to each have a holding a koala.
Every one of the zoo keepers where full and f knowledge and very happy to answer any questions you had about the animals.
This is one of those “must do while on the Gold Coast” things and we really enjoyed everything about the day.
We went in a Friday and there was a market with food vans with plenty of different types of food so that was where we had dinner before heading home.
Cory Robertson — Google review
Nice park, beautiful surroundings and a good variety of animals. Absolutely loved the lemurs! Passionate staff.
Steep entry fee compared to other parks that are just as beautiful and have just as many features. Perhaps, I feel this way partly because the train wasn't available, but even a functioning train shouldn't cause the ticket to be nearing double the cost of other high quality parks.
Elyse M — Google review
We had a family get together here. It was lovely!! Lots of fun for all ages. The train ride was cool. The bird show was really good. Queues weren't too bad. Food at the cafeteria was nice. Lots of life all around.
Neal Rolley — Google review
Was really impressed with the modern nature of the facilities and upkeep of the premises. It's a lush hideaway with cool walking tracks thanks to the stunning vegetation. A lot of effort has gone into designing the enclosures. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Far better than some of the other zoos around SEQ.
The highlight was certainly the cultural dance show!
R Naidu — Google review
I visited on a weekday outside of the school holidays. It was $65.60 charged to my card to get in, plus $10 for the car park. The park is fairly spaced out, but the free train makes it easy to get around. The free flight bird show is good. I didn't bother with any other shows. I saw at least one animal in most enclosures. I missed a few enclosures as I had already done a walk that morning and was getting tired.
I bought some Kaarage fried chicken pieces and a coke for $15. The chicken was dry. Probably would have been okay if it was served with some kind of sauce.
I saw a large play area for kids.
There is a high rope course for additional money. It looked really cool. Unfortunately, I'm too fat to try it. It was very high in some places, and looked quite long.
Kristy Armstrong — Google review
Wow what a superb wildlife park!! Can't recommend it enough. Beautifully designed, educational, healthy animals and passionate staff. Get there early for the parakeet feeding (8am onwards).
I visited with my family and partners parents who visited from the Netherlands and it was great for them that as soon as you walk in there are so many koalas to see, you can pat kangaroos and emus, walk with the wallabies etc.
I'll do a separate review for the tree-top challenge but all I'll say here is it is SO worth the $40 ticket upgrade.
Plenty of add-on experiences too but book these in advance.
Only downsides were there is currently only one place to order food, and the train around the park stops early.
Enjoy visiting!!
Bebe L — Google review
I came here a few days ago, unfortunately the train was under maintenance, but that was the main thing I found about this attraction and habitats - they are very good at maintenance! The staff here obviously take great pride in keeping the animals comfortable and ensuring the best for their patrons.
Speaking of animals, they were all healthy and happy, and I actually enjoyed this park the most out of all the parks I've been to - the natural habitats and positioning made it possible to see the animals even if they were sleeping, something not found even somewhere like Taronga Zoo.
The gift stores were cute, and the staff were nice! Had a great time and it was definitely worth the visit.

Great day out with the kids (and adults). Not a tonne of animals to see but enough for a good few hours of fun and entertainment.
Good cafes within the park for refreshments as well. The train ride is fun and obviously the koalas are super cute!

What a glorious beach. Easy access, plentiful facilities, and large expanses of beautiful sand. As well as lifeguards and showers, there are plenty of shops, restaurants and places to stay just behind the beach. These are just far enough away, though, not to affect your time on the beach. Located in the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, Springbrook National Park has a waterfall and magical underground glow worm cave which lights up at night. The park is also home to a colony of frogs and koalas. Short trails offer visitors views of the natural bridge, waterfall, and cave.
An absolute must visit if you are on the Gold Coast. A relatively easy walk on a sealed path. There are amenities which a couple of picnic tables. Adequate car parking with access on a sealed road.
Take your time on the walk and you may see some of the local wildlife.
The falls a beautiful from above and below and also from within the cave. The cave is home to glow worms but we didn't see any although there were quite a few bats.

Nice but short. The area was well kept and provided some premium public facilities. The walk was nice, but very short. I went super early in the morning to dodge the crowd. Natural Bridge was a little bit under whelming, however I could imagine it would be quite impressive in the wet season. Definitely a few good photo opportunities for budding photographers

Mother Nature at her finest. Heaps of spots to stop along the track and enjoy the scenes. Trees are amazing
You can hear the majestic sound of the waterfall as you walk the track & to be in the cave & feel its power as it comes through the opening in the cave is amazing. Even saw some micro bats at the back of the cave .
Easy track suitable for children well maintained

If you're looking for a short walk with beautiful natural views, this is the place for you! This Springbrook natural bridge has amazing views of mountains, woods, waterfall and a glow worm cave! Don't let the short trip here fool you as you can stay for hours taking in all the natural beauty it has to offer!

The best place I've visited in the recent times. I've been there in the afternoon and it was the best time to visit and I loved the greenery there as it rained the previous day and it looked more greener. The trek till the last was amazing and the walk through the woods was so so good and it is a lovely thing for nature lovers and walkers. There was a small waterfall flowing through it with a small cave. The path was beautifully constructed without causing any damage to the nature.
There was even a cafe food truck at the entrance and the coffee there was amazing.

Absolutely stunning during the day lots of water flowing sounded great. Wish we were allowed to swim hahah but if you come during the night you get to see the awesome glow worms. PLEASE DONT LET YOUR KIDS HAVE TORCHES BECAUSE THEY WILL SHINE LIGHT ON THEM. It's harmful and ruins the experience for everyone else.

Absolutely gorgeous place! Not that long of a walk but plenty to see. You get to see the view of the waterfall from both top and bottom. And even go inside the cave. At night time there are glow worms and bats. Didn’t get a chance to see them but is on the list next time we visit. Has plenty of parking spots and there’s even toilets before you start your walk. Signage said that there are often snakes and bush turkeys. we enjoyed the experience, however heaps of tourists that spent a lot of time in the road taking photos so you will have to be patient or go super early when there’s fewer people.

This is a great little walk through some beautiful rainforest and creek scenery. Natural bridge itself is a very photogenic volcanic feature created by the flowing stream that has shaped the area. Try and get here as early as possible, this is a very popular place and can feel crowded. Toilet facilities available.
Jason Adams (Jase) — Google review
Well constructed path (1km circuit) through rainforest down to see the Natural Bridge cave and waterfall. Would be spectacular after a lot of rain but still a beautiful spot. Quite a few steps down and back, but mostly with railings in the steep part.

Enchanting Experience at Natural Bridge - Home to Glow-Worms and Beyond
I recently visited Natural Bridge, and the experience surpassed all expectations. The lush rainforest setting creates a magical atmosphere, and the highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the glow-worms. Witnessing these bioluminescent creatures illuminating the cave walls was a mesmerizing and otherworldly encounter.
The delicate ecosystem, adding depth to the overall experience. The knowledgeable guides shared fascinating facts about the flora and fauna, making the journey not only visually stunning but also intellectually enriching.
The attention to conservation efforts is commendable. The responsible management ensures minimal impact on the environment, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of Nature while preserving it for future generations.
Aside from the glow-worms, the Natural Bridge offered a variety of walking trails, each unveiling unique facets of the rainforest. The well-maintained paths and informative signage make exploring the area both enjoyable and educational.
The facilities, including clean restrooms and well-placed seating areas, contributed to a comfortable visit. The site's commitment to accessibility is noteworthy, making it inclusive for all visitors.
In conclusion, Natural Bridge is a gem nestled in the heart of nature. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a photographer, or someone seeking a serene escape, this destination offers a perfect blend of beauty and biodiversity. It's an experience that lingers in memory, leaving you with a profound appreciation for the wonders of the natural world. Highly recommended!

Mesmerizing trail and the view of natural bridge is amazing. The trail gives you the experience of waterfall from every angle. As we walk along the waterfall, the sound of water and nature just refreshes you. We would love to go again and again to such a beautiful place which is free see.

You can't swim here.
There's not any picnic spots at the Falls itself. We didn't see any tables.
But it's a beautiful easy enough walk for able bodied people.
I saw lots of younger kids on this walk. It was quite busy.
We saw bats. And Pademelons.
The moss was very cool.
Temperature was perfect end of March. There had been plenty of rain that week too.

Beautiful scenery. A short circuit walk around (no more than 45 minutes at a slow pace). Amazing waterfall and cave where you can see glow worms but go after sunset to see them properly! Toilets here are accessible and clean. No issues with parking at all.

I last visited the Natural Bridge 42 years ago and naturally the place has changed. The infrastructure is designed to get you up and back in one piece. The water falling through the roof of the cave is still mesmerising.

Trail well marked out and with stunning views. If you go mid morning or late afternoon there are great shots created of rainbows with the slanting light. Trails have plenty of space to pass or be passed by others.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! This was a very easy, short walk. Took approx 15 mins to get to it from the parking lot. It smells like heaven (as do all our national parks) and the falls just look like a piece of magic taken out of a fairytale.

This waterfall near the Gold Coast is one of the best in the area. You can venture into a cave beneath the falls and even walk behind the cascading water. Being close to the water, you'll feel its powerful force. Additionally, the hike to the falls isn't too challenging, making the experience truly remarkable.

So good easy hike around the circuit and the views were excellent loads to see along the way. There was miniature mushrooms, fungi , caves views and awesome water falling. We even saw a python drinking water wow.
Museum with a range of art exhibitions plus the art of Margaret Olley & a recreation of her studio.
Well worth the visit, especially for the lovingly reconstruction of Margaret Olley's home/studio. The art installations are well presented and interesting. The cafe/restaurant was very good. Highly recommend.

I am not a Margaret Olley fan, however, I seem to find myself at her exhibitions and loving them. May have to just give in and own it.
This gallery has treated the artist's work and life with such deep respect, you can't help but be awestruck. The recreation of the artist's living space results in endless time spent finding details and items that clearly meant the world to her. It is an intimate view into the solace and safety of a well loved home.
The rest of the gallery is small, well curated and a joy to walk around. There is a variety of art forms and each are well displayed and lit.
The restaurant serves beautiful coffee and pastries. We didn't eat a meal, however, they looked and smelled wonderful.
The team members are friendly, engaging and knowledgeable.
I highly recommend it.

Tweed Regional Gallery is always fabulous, so many great exhibitions are on. The relocated home of Margaret Olley is an ultimate gift of inspiration for everyone to enjoy, a great spot to relax on a rainy day. But also great for artists on a clear day... you can view Mt. Warning, too.

This is an oasis. A well planned and laid out gallery with a wonderful vista over the Tweed and surrounding countryside. The cafe is great and our food and coffee well worth a decision to drive there and eat first and then visit the gallery. In such a small gallery it’s great to see such a good range of art, local or otherwise. The shop is small and well stocked with cards, ceramics, jewellery and books.
All the staff were professional and very helpful.
A great visit. Thank you.

A most wonderful place to experience the historical past of Margaret Ollie. A Regional Art Gallery built with great passion and expertise. On land where Doug Anthony grew up and watched the River and the Mountains. A mystical place with a majestic present that for tens of millennia has been home to Australia's First Nations Peoples.
The Gallery has an exquisitely good restaurant and facilities.
Certainly a bucket list item of places to explore and hold in your memory.

Wonderful testament to the devotion and dedication to iconic artist Margaret Olliy who lived from 1923 to 2011 and donated huge quantities of art to galleries all over Australia! The location of this gallery is uniquely situated in a most picturesque locale with views across to mount Warning(. Woolumbim) Also of note is a conveniently located restaurant also with marvellous view s back to Queensland ( Springbrook mountain Tallebudgera and Tomewin) Well appointed galleries with high quality displays assured!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre. The primary reason for our visit was to see Margaret Olley's artworks and her recreated rooms, and they did not disappoint. But this modern gallery is so much more. I would recommend a guided tour first, and then take the time to investigate on your own. There is a lovely restaurant in the building with beautiful views across the countryside.

Great collection of Australian artists, most notably Margaret Olley and her still life paintings. The recreation of her home was well done too. Luckily there is also a Claude Monet painting there too! Lovely cafe to sit and take in the scenery whilst indulging in local fare. Great day out!

I've been wanting to visit 'Margaret Olley's' home, which has been transported to the gallery, for quite a while. I had no idea that this wonderful woman was a hoarder and because of this her life was filled with many gems from flowers and statues to ewers and vases. Of course many of these things that she couldn't bare to part will be remembered forever as they became part of arrangements in her still life paintings.

This gallery has a beautiful scenic outlook, perfectly positioned to take advantage of landscape, Tweed River and Mt Warning. There are seasonal exhibitions, but best of all, it is the Margaret Olley artwork and recreation of Margaret's 'art studios' - her home. The restaurant cafe takes in the view and offers good food and great service. Try the Lemon Myrtle cheesecake - yum.

Modest in size, but very high quality exhibitions. Margaret Olley work bequeathed to the gallery is exceptional. The Cape Byron Walking Track is a popular hiking route with picturesque ocean vistas, wildlife sightings, and picnic areas. The trail takes visitors on a moderate walk that even young children can enjoy, starting from the Clarkes Beach parking lot and heading left towards Palm Beach and Wategos Beach. From there, hikers ascend the headland to take in breathtaking panoramic views from east to west before reaching the lighthouse.
Absolutely fabulous walk, cannot more heartedly recommend! Please walk from the start all the way around to the lighthouse, such a beautiful landscape.
Extra benefit is you walk past the most eastern point in Australia.
Strong recommend from me!
Michael McRoberts — Google review
Very nice view and walk to the most easterly point of the Australian mainland. Two stars less because of the overpriced parking fees around. If you park at the top you will be charged 10 AUD per vehicle.
Debby S — Google review
Amazing views, medium walk but even our youngest made the walk. Fully recommend parking at the bottom near Clarkes Beach head left and around Palm Beach into Wategos Beach then up the headland to amazing panoramic views East to West before heading to the lighthouse. Walk back through the conservation area for another unique view, shade and steps back down to the car park again.
Andrew Cockburn — Google review
We parked at the bottom end of this track and went uphill to the Most Easterly Point Lookout, from there we saw whales and dolphins. We then continued up to the lighthouse for a view of Byron Bay and more ocean views. After a short visit to the gift shop, we headed back down as our 1 hour parking expired.

Very nice walk, uphill but not too difficult. Many spots for lookouts and photos. We spotted sea turtles, a group of dolphins and whales. Small museum in the lighthouse but apparently tours only in morning time. Parking is 6$ an hour on the beach. You need 2 hours.

We parked at wategos on Marine parade.. Was $5 an hour with max of 4 hours but if you do 4hours only $15. Walked from there along Beach walkway and continued on to the Cape Byron Walking track up to the light house. We walked from here up and looked over the other side (you can do a loop) but we came back the same way so we could do little wategos track out to cape byron lookout on the way back. Once we got back went for swim at wategos and chilled til our parking time run out..
If this was helpful give me a thumbs up 👍

A nice beach walk to the rocks at the end of the Cape - but it does require a little rock climbing if within an hour or so of high tide.
The Cape Byron Lighthouse Cafe is a great spot to enjoy stunning views of the bay and dolphins and whales below. The cafe also has a menu of croissants, toasties, cakes and drinks. It's busiest on the weekends, but midweek is quieter so it's better to visit if possible.

Pathetic staff. I simply asked for some 50 ml of hot water from the coffee machine to make baby food. They denied it like I asked for free food. I was even happy to pay for it for any extra charge. Very arrogant staff and lowest level of customer experience. You should not work at a cafe that runs due to the tourists if you have so much arrogance. The cafe wasn't busy at all, I was the only customer at the counter and the staff were busy playing in their phones. Denying a customer at a restaurant is nothing but a downfall of any business. I wish them a good luck with this attitude.

The person making coffee today was very rude and impatient. After buying a one-liter bottle of water, I approached to ask for four cups for our group to use with the water. However, she didn't take the time to understand my request and abruptly directed me to go to the front counter in a rude manner. Later, when I went to pay for two $1 cups, the cashier had small cups that were free, but for some reason, the barista removed them and gave me coffee
cups instead. My question is, if we're buying water and other items, why sell me cups when there was an option for free cups? I feel like this wasn't handled in good faith.

The redeeming feature of this cafe is the spectacular views! The coffee, latte and scone were mediocre. The staff were friendly and the service was prompt.
The car park attendant was quite rude and officious. It would be good for the frontline person to be friendly and welcoming.

We did the Cape Byron Lighthouse hike from the main beach all the way around. Very well paved and easy to access. Stunning views. Also, you are able to drive to the lighthouse and then park. Parking is tight so just be aware you’ll have to be patient if there isn’t a spot.

The Farm Byron Bay is a picturesque 32-hectare green oasis located just outside of Byron. It is a working farm, plant nursery and sustainable market garden that features tours, an onsite restaurant and bakery. The community of growers and producers who share this space with the Three Blue Ducks restaurant, produce store, ice-creamery and florist are dedicated to traditional and sustainable practices both as an ethos and educational mission.
Great food, Great service, nice people. It's a very lovely place to go with family or friends. The atmosphere is lovely and you can see different animals and little organic shops. Perfect for brunch. You will not be disappointed.
The only downside for me was I have waited a long time to see the highlander cows. Every time I have gone I have not been able to see any 😭 Wish they were more available to see. However, from my understanding it's a working farm and you may have to book a farm tour to see them.

Nice, rustic experience. Just be aware the Cafe and restaurant areas are separate operations so if you think you can enjoy a coffee in the restaurant area you can't. Coffee is only on front deck and inside main serving area. It's a good family venue with additional areas for kids to run around. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to visit. Enjoy a short walk around & see all the animals, have some fresh macadamian nuts under the trees.
Enjoy meal at the three ducks cafe or get takeaway & enjoy it under the trees.

Great idea and nice atmosphere for a cafe/restaurant. Good quality to price was much less than my expectation but overall experience would compensate for that.

Bakery goods and coffee are 100% on point! Also awesome that they let us use our own travel mugs. Love that it’s close to the free way - makes a convenient break when travelling between states and the kids had a lovely time in the park. Only draw back is that it’s busy and crowded, the price of being brilliant… actually speaking of price it was more expensive than a servo break but damn the food was good.

Hmmm Not an easy place to review. I stopped here twice on my way to and back from Port Macquarie. It’s conveniently located close to the Pacific Highway and only 1 hr and 40 minutes (150 km) from Brisbane.
Several options for shopping or food and drink are on offer. Worms and seedlings for example. Yet another is focussed on dairy. There’s a bread and pastry counter and also a coffee stop. Tons of beer and wine from the tap to enjoy in the garden or table service in the restaurant.
It’s just not pushing any of my buttons. None of the wines or beers tickle my fancy, neither does the menu. The herb gardens don’t come close to my old ones when I lived on property. And the colonial metaphor is an acquired taste. Tin plates and so on. I’m not sure if that matches the price tag. It all borders to a commercial touristy formula with the prime aim to make money. And then the birds feasting on the scraps left behind on the garden tables…..
That being said, many may simply love this experience. It certainly is great to have a place to restore (restaur-ant) along the Pacific Highway.

It is a massive establishment with both dine-in and takeout options. We did both during our stay at Byron. The place has an excellent vibe for every age. Plenty of space for kids to run around, and also large and open enough with lots of outdoor tables that the oldies can talk and hear each other. Coffee, Portuguese Tarts and Bloody Mary’s were the hot takes from our group!
Scenic stop overlooking Minyon Falls & the rainforest, also offering walking paths & picnic areas.
It’s a really nice place to have a swim or just take a few photos. Not really disability friendly but you feel like you deserve a swim after the rocks and boulders. There are two entries, one with more parking but gravel road and one with less parking but fully paved and has access to bathrooms and seating areas.

It is a beautiful fall but you should adjust the expectations if going just for the lookout. I enjoyed the drive (through Nightcap Range Rd) a lot more than this end point :)
Most of the picnic area was closed and the best way to enjoy it was to go for the button if fall track which needs several hours and properly planning a full day.

Hard to find there are no signs to help guide you. Take a map and hopefully you can also find it on your gps. Roads as you get closer get narrow and a very short section was rough dirt. Nice picnic area with good drop toilets. Short sealed path to the lookout is wheel chair accessible. Waterfall loop track closed because of land slip. The drive up is nice from the coast so take your time.

Amazing waterfall! Visited just after heavy rains/during some light rains, so water flow was spectacular! I went on a walk to the base fall from the Grasslands picnic area. Was a bit tricky at the bottom to find the path through the rocks to get to the base, and due to the rain the rocks were incredibly slippery so didn’t go super close but still had a wonderful experience! Beware of the leeches by the rocks however haha!

The facilities here are amazing, looks brand new with lots of places to have a picnic and brand new toilets. The only problem is the view of the falls isn’t that great. You are much better going to the grass area 1.6km away for the best view.

Tables n chairs, carpark n Short walk to viewing deck. No water so no falls. 100m drop or so . Be good when falls in motion.
Michael Brent — Google review
The waterfall is breathtaking, boasting an impressive drop of almost 100 meters. However, the current viewing point fails to capture its true beauty. Positioned at the top of the falls, the viewing area allows one to appreciate its height, but lacks a frontal perspective to truly admire its splendor. It's suggested that the authorities consider adding a viewing location in front of the falls to showcase its beauty adequately. Despite this, the falls remain mesmerizing. There's a challenging 5-hour return trail leading to the base of the falls, which we unfortunately couldn't undertake due to time constraints. It would have been wonderful to experience it firsthand.

A very pleasant trip up the mountain to the car park. Lots of parking in the two or three car parks. Several large picnic tables under cover. The toilet amenities are new and very clean. Short walk to and from the falls. Great short day trip or add the walks to fill in a complete day

Cool place. Easy access for wheelchairs for the first kms. You’ll be able to see the waterfall. Careful with the leeches, one bit me 😢

Beautiful spot to launch from to enter the many bush walking trails on offer. Excellent clean facilities, including picnic tables, toilets, BBQ space, and interpretive and informative signage. Not to mention the fantastic wheel chair friendly conctrete path that winds throughout the area, including the lookout over Minyon Falls. The lookout itself it spacious, clean, and well maintained by the parks team.

The pictures don't this waterfall justice as the viewing platform is quite high (rightly so, for everyone's safety) and blocks the camera from taking good photos.
There are parts at the top of the fall where you can walk in the water... another part where you drive your car through the waterfall's top.
You can hike to the base of the waterfall but it's 5-6km and quite steep
Yahya Zuhair — Google review
Beautiful waterfall near Byron Bay / Brunswick Heads. The walking trail from the top of the falls down to the base takes around an hour and a half to complete. Coming back up may take a little longer.

Such a great spot to look at the falls and take in the view of the area. Nice drive through the national park to get to the lookout, and once you're there it's a short walk to the lookout which is right at the top of the falls, very close to the edge. Very strong and stable platform for the lookout though so don't stress!

The Lookout captivates with breathtaking views of cascading water, blending the soothing sound of rushing falls with stunning landscapes. The easily accessible lookout provides a platform for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike, offering a sensory experience that immerses visitors in the untamed beauty of Minton Falls. Only a short stroll from the car park with great amenities and park space to soak in the surrounding conservation area.

Lovely spot to see Minyon Falls. Plenty of owning and wheelchair friendly.
To get the best view of the falls, you’ll need to complete the 3h loop walk to the base of the falls.

When I was in Ballina, I spent a lot of time lost, because they don't seem to have enough street signs..so the day before I left I thought, I would go to the information centre and get a map of the town, it was a little bit to late, I know. The lady that served me was very nice and what a lovely building.. thanks so much....👋👋

The best visitors centre i have ever been attended, in my extensive travels. The staff are extremely courteous and friendly, nothing is a trouble. The presentation ,quality and variety of product is extremely well showcased and reasonably priced . In my opinion , the Ballina Visitor centre should train Visitor Centres how Visitors Centres should be presented and run, including customer service. I have never been to Ballina previously, however it is my new favourite destination, due to attending the visitors centre. I was more than impressed with the comprehensive information visitors guide . Congratulations to all involved. NB I will be back.

The Big Banana Fun Park is a quirky roadside attraction in Coffs Harbour, Australia that features amusement park rides, water parks, mini golf courses and laser tag. It's easily the most well-known tourist destination in the area and is known by both locals and international visitors alike.
Great place for family with little kids. It hasn’t change much since our last visit in 2018. Easy to walk around and if you are able to buy the unlimited pass, you will be able to try everything. The 4D theatre was amazing. The big slice was empty, it’s a shame because it was fun. The owners should consider an automatic escalator. My kids couldn’t go up to the top and carry their own mat. The mat is super heavy, I have two carry three mats all the way to the top and I was able to do it two times. I’m a fit person, but it was too much.

Very good fun park for both kids and adults.
You can easily spend the whole day there.
Toboggan is very popular. I would recommend getting there first in the morning. The queue is slow 🐌, so if the lane is long, you may spend a lot of time waiting. The ride itself is 5 minutes. We arrived right after opening, and 10-15 people queue took 20 minutes approximately.
Ice skating - amazing and not so busy. The ice is good. There is plenty of supports to use if you are not strong on ice.
The water slides are very popular as well. We went there last - before closing. 2 hours were more than enough. However, kids may want to stay for longer. Only 4 bags slides were operational.
All facilities were in good order and well maintained. There was plenty of parking, but during Easter, it was not enough.
Good food choices in the cafe.
The only thing to be aware of - they do not have drinking fountains, so we had to ask stuff to refill our drinking bottles.
Also, the park is basically a set of halls. You walk between them through the carpark. There is not so many walking paths. You share the road with the cars. So, be careful when you drive - there are plenty of people with kids on the road.

My visit to the Big Banana Fun Park in Coffs Harbour was nothing short of fantastic, earning it a well-deserved 5/5 rating. The standout feature for me was the incredible cafe, which surpassed expectations with its diverse menu and excellent choices. From savory delights to sweet treats, the menu catered to a wide range of tastes, ensuring there was something delightful for every palate.
A particular highlight was the banana-flavored ice cream – an absolute must-try for anyone visiting. The rich and authentic banana flavor made it a refreshing and delicious treat, perfectly aligning with the park's iconic theme. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations, and the variety showcased the culinary expertise of the cafe.
What sets this experience apart is the cafe's pet-friendly environment. Being able to enjoy a delightful meal with my furry companion by my side added an extra layer of joy to the visit. The Big Banana Fun Park's commitment to being pet-friendly reflects a thoughtful and inclusive approach, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
Beyond the culinary delights, the entire fun park offers an array of exciting activities and attractions. The well-maintained facilities and friendly staff contribute to a positive overall experience. Whether you're seeking adventure or a relaxing day out, the Big Banana Fun Park delivers on all fronts.
In summary, the Big Banana Fun Park is a gem in Coffs Harbour, offering a perfect blend of delicious dining options, exciting attractions, and a pet-friendly atmosphere. My visit was thoroughly enjoyable, and I highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a memorable and fun-filled day in the heart of Coffs Harbour.

Good Lord there is so much to do we didn't realise. There are rides, arcade, ice skating, a cafe where u must buy a $15 banana split (yeah it's worth it, and ur hips will thank u if u share it) an opal shop, in store made rock candy that u can watch while they make... Then grab a $8 bag to remember them by & yes they have sugar free. Putt putt, giant slide. This is a whole family day out. It was approx $65 per person but that covers all 9 areas of rides & play areas.

Had good fun on the water rides and the laser tag. The only downside was getting out to the motorway towards Coffs. The council needs to seriously add a ramp for safe merging of the cars. It is an accident waiting to happen during peak times

Good place to visit if you are in Coffs Harbour. Nice little park for both adult and kids, but I think mainly kids. Even if you are not interested in those, you may have a fine time just having a nice snack and drink hearing the joyful laughs at the place. Overall, a good family place to come to. Highly recommend visiting.

I didn't go for the water theme. Did the toboggan and the plantation.
I would think it's a fun place for families with kids. We 2 adults spent about 1.5 hours there for these 2 visits. If you are travelling in families with children, preferably maybe 6 onwards to 12, you can consider visiting this theme park.

This classic Coffs Harbour attraction has evolved since the time I was a kid and stopped here for dad to have a break on the trip north! Now the Big Banana Fun Park offers a range of attractions for the whole family. We opted for a three attraction pass that gave us almost 7 hours of entertainment! We chose ice skating, 4D cinema and the water park / laser tag (our family split up for the last activity). Each attraction took around an hour and a half and even though the park was packed it was well organised amongst the session times to ensure minimal wait times. Great value for the entertainment received and don't forget the gift shop and cafe (we took a walk down memory lane with a choc coated banana that certainly didn't disappoint 🍌!! Make sure you make the time to pop in either on the way or for a whole day of fun!!

Bought unlimited passes for my niece and nephew for Christmas and had a wonder day on Dec 28! Started with the Toboggans and Laser Tag, then we went ice skating and saw a 4-D movie. Lunch was easy to order from our table and service was way faster than I was expecting!!! It was a packed venue and we had fresh hot food in less than 10 minutes! Loved our banana smoothies! After lunch, went on a tour (very short but informative) while the kids played Mini Golf. Next we went to The Racer and had fun sliding. We finished our day doing the last Water Park slot from 3:30-5pm. Loved the 4 slides that were open, can’t wait to try the two new ones opening soon. I just wish there was sufficient air conditioning in the Laser Tag maze as it was super hot. Also The Racer didn’t seem to have any air conditioning and it was also super hot as well. Can’t wait to go back and see what else they add on and improve. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend to get there around 8:30 for the 9 am opening to get a good park!

The Big Banana in Coffs Harbour is an absolute must-visit destination! It’s not just a fun park; it’s a family-friendly haven for all ages. What makes it even better is the variety of price options to suit every budget, ensuring that everyone can join in on the fun.
I highly recommend purchasing the unlimited access pass for an unforgettable experience. With this pass, you can fully immerse yourself in all the attractions, and trust me, there’s something for everyone. The XD Theatre is a real highlight, offering mind-blowing 4D rides that had us on the edge of our seats. We couldn’t resist trying all of them!
For those who love a chilly adventure, the ice-skating rink is a fantastic addition. It’s open to skaters of all levels, making it a perfect family activity. And if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, don’t miss the toboggan ride – it’s an absolute blast!
But that’s not all; the Big Banana offers even more entertainment with mini golf and laser tagging, adding a competitive edge to your visit. And for those who enjoy water activities, the water park is a fantastic option to cool off and have a splashing good time.
When you visit the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour, you’re in for more than just thrilling attractions; there’s also a wide array of food options available at the cafe to satisfy your appetite. The food quality is undeniably good, with a menu that caters to various tastes. However, it’s worth noting that the prices in the cafe are on the higher side.
Fortunately, the coffee served at the park is not only of high quality but also correctly priced, making it a refreshing and affordable choice to keep you energized throughout your day of adventure.
Before you leave, make sure to explore the well-stocked souvenir shop on the premises. While the prices here may range from moderate to high, you’ll find a diverse selection of mementos to remember your Big Banana experience.
So, while the food prices at the cafe may be a bit steep, the overall experience at the Big Banana remains a fantastic one. With excellent coffee, thrilling attractions, and a souvenir shop for keepsakes, it’s still an unforgettable destination for family fun in Coffs Harbour.

The Forest Sky Pier is a lookout point extending from Sealy Lookout, providing sweeping views of the mountains and coast. It's one of the best vantage points to take in Coffs Harbour and it's also free to visit.
I had an awesome visit to Sealy Lookout. It has quickly become one of my favorites places. It is worth the drive. Has an amazing little Cafe. The views are surrounding rainforest enough to lift ones spirits and set one up for an awesome day or night. Whichever the case may be.
I would like to add there is no camping and the gates are locked at 5 pm

Great views along the coast, as well as a birds-eye view of the tree ferns, toilets were clean. Depending on the season there’s a high chance of picking up some local bananas from one of the road side stalls up the range. Overall a good place for a pit stop if you’re road-tripping.

Took us 3 attempts before we got to the pier without it being head and shoulders in the clouds, but the view was worth the repeat visits. The area is well cared for and the small cafe and covered seating areas make it a good picnic spot. The car park is not large, but adequate as most people only stay long enough to take a selfie. There is a short forest walk out the back of the car park. Well worth the visit, but checkout the weather before heading up. There are a couple of drop toilets.

Stunning drive up. Suitable for caravans up the steep mountain. Be mindful of the road is narrow. Once at the top, it's absolutely beautiful. Went on an overcast, wet and rainy day, so will plan to come back. The view would be amazing on a clear day. A small indigenous run cafe near the pier, was closed when we arrived.

Amazing views worth a stop off if you are coming through and stopping at the big banana. The bridge is a little wobbly and not for those scared of heights as you are as high as the tree tops here!!! Also there's a tree top climbing challenge here for those who are physically fit. Also cafe up top too.

This tourist attraction in the Coffs Harbour region is dedicated to swimming with dolphins and seals, as well as watching whale and sea lion shows. It is a popular destination for visitors from all over Australia.
Amazing place. They do amazing work saving animals. Many different experiences available within general entry fee as well as extra paid ones. Very informative presentations. Animals are amazing, especially dolphins which you get the chance to touch. I hope this place is kept open. Itt is our second visit.

Fantastic conservation education attraction. The garden area and small exhibits would be great is extended as it was extremely crowded. Would suggest having the private dolphin and seal encounters in another pool as a lot of children were upset seeing others have these and facilities need updating like fans and fresh drinking fountain. The penguin area seemed very small for the number of penguins and hot for them. But the shows were great to see and well presented.

Wonderful animals, and information, the talks were very informative and interactive.
Even though it was almost cyclone weather the kids aged 13-7 had an absolute ball. I don’t know how we’ll go back to the Seal show at Taronga Zoo after the amazing seal show and even more incredible Dolphin Show. Hands to the keepers and staff for persevering in the torrential rain.
Food was yummy and well priced and the gift shop was special, we snagged some original masterpieces by the seals.

Took my daughter here and had a lovely day. The highlight being the dolphin show which was worth waiting around for. Plenty of other tanks and pools to keep the kids interested. There was a seal getting around the park aswell which kept things entertaining and fun. Cool little park with friendly staff.

Great learning about sea life rescue and conservation.
At first, I thought it was a bit pricey for a small park that is only open for 4 hours. But that thought goes away when you walk around and see the animals, learn their story, and interact with some of the rescued ones in the turtle hospital.
It will only take you an hour or less to look around. There will be some scheduled talks between the 4 hours the park is open. But, be sure not to miss the Dolphin and Seal show. Not only that you get informed on how they are rescued and treated, but you also get a chance to experience interacting with the seal and dolphins.
The price you pay is more than worth it.

I was so impressed with the spark today . The people are beautiful and the animals are a very happy family . It was such an experience and an impressive Day out . We all had a great Day from 5 year old to 50 year old . We spent 11am to almost 2pm .
I have been to Maui Ocean Centre it was lovely but this was better (Finding Dory) .
The work they do in the Animal rehabilitation area was impressive. But the team they’re working are welcoming warm and and love the animals dearly. The park isn’t new but clean and fresh and plenty of room for big groups . I will be going back and encouraging our visitors to go and enjoy the day . The show and animals were Magic . Thankyou

I came from Melbourne to participate in 2 weeks placement as part of my Certificate 3 in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care course in March this year. Working with marine mammals has been a dream job of mine since I was 10 and my experience at the sanctuary has ignited that dream even further. The knowledge and experience that every individual staff member has is absolutely incredible and any question I asked was answered with such passion and detail. My goal for the fortnight was to immerse myself into the job as much as I could and the team of staff ensured that I dabbled in all areas of the job covering a range of animal species, which resulted in creating life long memories and hands on skills.
The love and care that these trainers show for their animals is like none other and you can see how beautiful the trust and relationships are between trainer and animal, a feeling I wish to experience in this field one day. The knowledge I came home with has expanded my skills and work ethic in this industry and I am looking forwards to the day when I can go back and visit the sanctuary again!
Thank you to all the staff who made this trip the most eye opening opportunity of my life, the beginning of experiencing my dream career path!
Picturesque 30-m. waterfall with a viewing platform, parking & picnic tables in a wooded setting.
Beautiful view from the top & bottom of the falls here. Easy 100m to the top viewing platform, small playground, picnic tables & toilets here.
Follow the path around to the left & down the stairs to the lower viewing platform for a different angle. Lower area only approx 500m walk from car park. Lots of stairs.

Secure lookout area adjacent to the parking lot offering great views of the falls from top.
There is ample parking space including a well maintained children's play area.
The walk down to the falls took about 10min and was relatively low intensity. Most of the path down is a boardwalk which ends up in another lookout deck area offering close-up views of these amazing falls.

Great spot for a walk and a lookout over the waterfall - a little dry currently so the waterfall was not thundering over like I have seen it in the past.

Large open viewing platforms above the falls. About 10-15 minute walk down the trails which includes some stairs and tarred tracks descending to the base of the falls. Trails can be a little hazardous for those with poor balance or mobility and a bit of a hike coming back up the trail but definitely worth the walk down if you’re fit and keen for a look around and a swim. Water varies in depth and trails off into a creek which is more safe for younger kids. Playground and toilets are easy access just meters from the car park.

One of the very beautiful waterfalls I have seen.
Astonishing view from the top observation deck and also there is a trail to the bottom of the fall. There are small playground for kids, picnic area and toilets near the observation deck. There was a coffee van and It was awesome in the cold autumn weather.

Absolutely stunning waterfalls!
Amazing place to swim, water is fresh and cold, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk down to the water.
Would recommend wearing water shoes as it's a bit slippery and some sharpish rocks in the water.
It's definitely a must visit!!

Beautiful! I had been to Dorrigo and the Skywalk a few times, but never driven out to Dangar Falls. I only looked from the observation platform at the top, and read the information panel, but you can also walk down to the water through bush tracks, which I will do next time I am there.

Incredible spot for a swim. Awesome view from above, with easy access along a boardwalk through the forest to the falls.
Definitely worth a visit!
Michael Smyth — Google review
Very easy to access with great parking. The viewing platform is right there.
Walk down is very easy. Not many steps and the path is elevated to the pool.
Would highly recommend this place as a swimming hole. Water was fresh and invigorating (we were there in early March).
There’s an awesome ledge behind the falls themselves. You can access from the right side when looking directly at them.

Great spot, 40 minutes drive up the hill from coffs harbour. The drive through the waterfall way is in itself beautiful. Great lookout/ walk down to have a swim in the cold water.

Not a lot of water in the falls but still a great view. Plenty of walking/hiking options for a range of ability levels.
The campground looks pretty good with big sites and facilities. Easy to get too, albeit a dirt road for some ks.
Mark Travers — Google review
One of the most beautiful waterfalls of NSW. Could seen from the top, also could reach the bottom, beautiful from both. The tracks have spectacular views, there is a park beside and plenty of parking.
Highly recommend.

Breathtaking falls at the end of a very scenic drive. Limited parking spots and can get full on a warm day. Waterfall and a short walk from the top. Also has toilets near the parking area. Don't forget to get your swim wear when you walk down to the falls.

This water fall is very scenic. Can swim till the waterfall, The only drawback is it has very sharp little stones under water. We stayed at the cabin, cabins were very clean and tidy. Very mesmerising view on sunrise.

Dangar Falls is such an amazing waterfall. Easy to get to, has toilets, a picnic and playground area and a bbq.
It was easy to walk down to the falls, only 20 minutes round trip. The observation deck is great and you can also go to the top of the falls.
Just beautiful.
Bree Johinke — Google review
Peaceful and relaxing, it is about 15 mins walk into the stairs to the waterfall.
During summer this can get pretty hot, recommend you bring your towels and swimsuits and go for a swim when arrived.
Not recommending to swim on the top of the river given there is no shade, recommending at the bottom of the water fall

One word... AMAZING! We travelled from Sydney and stopped overnight in Dorrigo to visit these Falls. At the time we were deciding whether to push on and travel further. Glad we didn't. These falls are worth the stop. Easy walk down from the top viewing platform to the base of the water. We swam out to the falls and sat on the rock ledge behind them. Seriously a cool thing to do! Be careful getting in and out of the water as the rocks can be sharp and slippery. Water was chilly but incredibly refreshing.

A pretty majestic waterfall. Easy access to the lookout. it’s just 20 meters from the carpark. You can walk to the base of the waterfall 1
In few minutes
Large outdoor park with a boardwalk suspended over rainforest, trails to waterfalls & scenic views.
One of the best natural tourist attraction place I have ever visited. The rain forest and the serenity within it was to die for.
Didn't spend much time there however, the walks amongst the decades old trees and a ecosystem within it was amazing.
Can't wait to come back here and explore the entire for the whole day. I hope it doesn't rain that time :p

Loved the experience. Before going to never never picnic track there was a warning sign for snakes 😂. I loved that as I am scared of them. Overall experience was amazing plus the rain make it all worthwhile. Recommend to try it. Loved the waterfall. Then the cafe, I had gluten free chocolate cake, it was amazing, sugar was just right, the moisturise. Chocolate cake heaven on earth… so tasty all the flavours, I will surely come again to try the menu. Love loved it.

Great walk along the board walk of the harbour. You can walk to Mutton Bird Island, bit of an incline up, but it's worth the small hike up.
Michelle Stam — Google review
A 6.6km walk with the kids (9 and 7) enjoying every step . Allow 2 to 3 hours. Spotted local wildlife, including a Lyre bird amongst Bush Turkeys, Lizards, frogs and much more bird life...
The Forest itself changed throughout the walk as we moved up and down the Mountain.
Highlights were of course the waterfalls, including, the Crystal Falls which you can choose to go behind for a unique view.
Very easy grade but not quite wheel chair throughout (certainly not at Crystal Falls). Just long enough to be tiring.
Terry Seton — Google review
It does have a magical feeling when you walk among such an ancient forest. Beware that full loop is around 6 km so if you are not used to long walks with steep elevation maybe better to not go all the way. Couple small waterfalls make you experience more pleasant. We didn't see many animals on our way except some birds and a small lizard. Not sure this was only our experience our animals keep their distance from the designated tracks. Overall totally recommend.
Mohammad Baghaeipouri — Google review
Most Beautiful place to be in Dorrigo ! Wonder rainforest and the sounds of birds are just everywhere. The walk covers a few waterfalls and they are magnificent. Sadly one section of it is closed till June 2024 for remedial works.
Vivekka Olivia John — Google review
Best place to go to for free. doesn’t require any money to go on the walks but does have a nice gift shop you can spend money. They also have a really nice cafe but is a bit on the pricy side so it’s wise to bring food and drinks. Plenty of picnic areas to cook up a feed and relax. The walks can be up to 1-2 hours but is definitely worth it for the views and waterfalls. There is a lookout with breathtaking views but I personally found quite scary. The gift shop also has a room full of beautiful artworks and documentary’s on animals living in the rainforest, very informative. Be careful on walking tracks as we had a lot of run in with leeches but didn’t discover them until after the walk. There are a few campsites nearby such as one that’s near the waterfall further down the road. Only cost $10 to stay. This waterfall you are able to swim in but is very cold. Beautiful views though. It is definitely worth the trip there, highly recommend to stay the night.

Strongly recommend for anyone that enjoys a easy stroll in a lush rainforest with beautiful native bird calls. But I highly recommend to bring leech spray even if your planning to wear fully clothed tights... leeches will still cling onto tights!!

Beautiful part of the world with a very lush rainforest. We got really wet after it rained pretty hard for an hour but it wouldn't be a rainforest without some rain! Waterfalls were flowing magnificently and the information centre at the entrance was well planned with bathrooms. Definitely recommend

One of the best parks around the area. Park fees are 2$/adult and 1$/child. There are plenty of trails to choose from. I recommend the Crystal Shower Falls track, it has two waterfalls and a lookout.
Matei Giurgiu — Google review
Dorrigo National Park stands out as one of the best in NSW. With two trails available, a 6.6 km route taking 2 to 3 hours and a shorter 1.5 km trail, there's an option for everyone. For those eager to witness waterfalls, the 6.6 km trail is a must. Be sure not to miss the Skywalk lookout—a captivating experience not to be missed!
Sebastian Peter — Google review
We did the Wonga path. Kindly take note, to those who wishes to also do this Wonga circuit path, there are some renovations on part of the Wonga path. Renovations will end in June 2024.
We did the Wonga path in view of the 2 waterfalls that we wished to catch (videos). Just a caution of word, you guys should really check for leeches. We wore long tights and socks but we still got leeches found on us. Being a city kid this is the first time we got bitten by leeches. Quite an experience. Haha.
For those who hasn't really exercise much like me, the path is not an easy one, especially when you intend to visit Crystal fall. There are about 5 steep slopes to conquer in seeing the falls. As part of the circuit is closed for renovation, instead of the stated 6.6km, it will become a 7.9km walk.
We started at 1045am and ended at around 1pm. Didn't stop for long for those falls.
Overall, great view, got ourselves drenched as it was raining (we guessed that's when we got bitten by leeches).

Amazing park, with beautiful rainforest. But if u want to get a better view, must to choose a good weather day.
There are many huge trees, and sometimes will meet the wild chickens.
Good place to take a walk and breathe, to get more oxygen.

A scenic walk by the water, where you'll pass the time looking at the breakwall art. Some well done, some kindergarten level, all with a story! Really cool. Lit up at night, as well. Can't wait to come back with paints n bring out my Banksy!!

So beautiful. Lovely flat & wide walkway.

Beautiful and long walk along the water with thousands of colourful, well painted rocks lining the shore. Saw the biggest and closest pod of dolphins I've ever seen in my life towards the end, playing in the waves. Must do if anywhere in the area

Beautiful Scenic walk on Break wall. Access to Estuary and River mouth. Clean, good amenities ,with toilets close, picnic tables and perfect for little ones supervised swimming on Estuary side.

The V Wall is truly a gem in Nambucca Heads! The paintings on the rocks create a unique and vibrant atmosphere. The ample parking space ensures convenience, and the nice walking path is perfect for a leisurely stroll with stunning views. If you're fortunate, you might even catch a glimpse of dolphins.

Hidden little gem on the coast with gorgeous walks. The beach is quiet with cafes and a pub close by. There are bathrooms and picnic facilities close by as well.

Wonderful artwork and memorials for loved ones and families to make their mark on this long rock wall. Good for a walk and storytelling

I loved travelling to Nambucca such a picturesque town with plenty of gorgeous views and places to see. I loved the V wall, with its unique and versatile art.
Will certainly be back.
FlameLily K — Google review
The V Wall is a great place to visit, bring the family, go swimming, have a picnic, go fishing, or just have a leisurely walk checking out the rock graffiti otherwise known as rock art. You may also see fish from the wall or even Dolphins on a good day.
If you want to see some drone footage of the area check out my youtube at @NewmanMediaCollective.
There are several places where people can swim from the protected shallow start of the V Wall to the other side which is even better for young children as it does not get the currents. Currently there is sand halfway down the wall serving as an extra beach which some are taking advantage of. At the end of the wall to the left is Wellington Beach which is also popular.
There are toilet facilities at the beginning of the wall and a couple of places you can purchase food drinks or icecreams to keep everyone happy. There are also a couple of sculptures and picnic tables available.
Normally you will be able to find a parking spot but in the peak holiday periods it may be a bit more difficult. I've never failed to get one though.
The V Wall from point to point is around 900m. 600m for the main side and a further 300m on the less used side. It is a flat cemented path which is suitable for prams, bikes, wheelchairs or other mobility devices. Suitable for all ages.
The rock graffiti consists mostly of people/families making their mark. It also seems to have a growing number of remembrance plaques. The best ones are the more artistic efforts. It is constantly changing as new people add to it so you can come every year and see different artwork alongside some older ones.
Definitely worth the time to visit.

Graffiti or art the choice is in the eye of beholder. It's a very noice walk, flat with great views of the beach, sea and river. The painted rocks are interesting, some are definitely inspired the rest well leave that up to you. We'll worth taking an hour or so to enjoy something different.

52 Wellington Dr, Nambucca Heads NSW 2448, Australia
Remains of a 19th-century prison featuring a museum & memorial located on a scenic peninsula.
Trial Bay Gaol is a excellent place to see a little of Australia's history. It was such a great time exploring the grounds. There was a small entry fee of $10 but this was defiantly worth it. Spend around 2 hours just walking around looking at all the different cells and sights.
Chris O'Connor — Google review
Excellent little slice of Australian History.
Kids loved reading about the prisoners, and what the different buildings were used for. There is a very small entry fee, but it's worth the spend. The location is stunning now... but must have seemed like the end of the earth in the 1800's.
Grounds were full of Grey Kangaroos, and we even glimpsed a tree snake sunning on the wall near the guards tower!
Aaron Carpenter — Google review
The gaol is missing many of the original fittings as they were sold after it stopped being used. There is lots of info including a 10 minute video at the start.
It’s quite interesting but lacks many of the props that more established museums have.
It’s worth a look but not much there to captivate the attention of children.
There is currently a sculpture exhibition in the gaol and you also have an opportunity to get up close and personal with kangaroos who live there.
Jill Le Feuvre — Google review
This is a stunning peice of history with a very interesting story. If you don't want to pay for the tour, you can read and see most of the important and interesting facts from outside.
Mick Micallef — Google review
Gorgeous place to visit. Allow 1 - 1.5 hours for a visit. The introductory video is 10 minutes and the grounds are a reasonable size. The toilets are clean and this is very informative.
This was infinatiely better than other penal colonies and gaols I have visited (looking at you port Arthur), however Castel st Angelo in rome is probably the best gaol.
I would definitely revisit.
Karl Chong — Google review
If you like history then this is the place for you.
As you walk around you will be captivated by what it would feel like to be a prisoner back in the day.
Don’t forget to have a look in the little museum just as you go through the entry on your right.
And take the short walk up the hill to where you will find the graves and an amazing view of the goal.
Anne Wheaton — Google review
Trial Bay Gaol was full of interesting sights. There was so much to explore, and you can easily spend a good two hours here. There's a small entry fee ($10), but it's definitely worth the price.

Wow, what an incredible piece of history! So well preserved. Great stories and information to help imagine the people kept at the gaol. A highlight of our trip to South West Rocks.
Rachel Grant — Google review
I took my 5year old son to explore Trial Bay Goal, and we had such a wonderful time, and we learnt so much about the history. The video was a little long for him to watch, but you can walk around and learn throughout. We finished with going to the bay for a play in the sand, beautiful water and surroundings.
Rochelle Birch — Google review
Amazing place to enjoy. Very well maintained with facilities and wonderful crowds. The place gets busy with visitors. The surrounding area are also busy with campers. Very close to the beach. Lots of parking spaces, there's also cafe nearby.
Ant0n G — Google review
Nothing quite like learning about historic events and the world well before our time.
Had no idea the English treated the Germans so poorly but I guess that’s the way the world was back then.
There’s a small fee everyone must pay if you want to wander through Trial Bay Gaol and absorb the impressions of the people left behind in this place. Visitors can read through stories of prisoners and why they ended up in here and the daily sufferings of abuse victims had to endure for months and years as a consequence for their petty crimes which wasn’t petty back then. After all we are referring to 1885 where life was a lot harder and small crimes sometimes punishable by death.
On a more positive note. Visitors get to see another part of Trial Bay Gaol. As you walk around to the rear from the entrance and climb a set of stairs. You’ll get to enjoy picturesque ocean scenery and wonder wildly and differently from what you’ve just learnt about life way back then.
It’s obvious the workers of Trial Bay Gaol had it good. So glad to live in times where jails like this … merely exist. Society as a whole had become more open to kindness rather than cruelty and violence. But who knows what the world will become in 50 - 100 years from now. Places like this sure do make you wonder.
T Agassiz — Google review
This is an excellent site for people who are looking for a taste of Australian history. Whilst being an aesthetically pleasing place to visit it holds a lot of information a out the prison itself - from when it was first created and used for and who even tried to escape.
Right next to it is a fantastic beach and a park with rocks you can stand upon and watch the ocean and waves. Haves a fantastic mini-museum and a great gift shop! On top of all this you get a fantastic view from the lookout.
Would highly recommend!
Will — Google review
Interesting place - with remarkably no creepy vibes. A beautiful location, with interesting signage and a spectacular campsite below that is worth staying at. The jail was used intermittently as a reform/public works prison for good behaviour prisoners, to an internment camp for well-to-do German / other “enemies of the state” during WW1. Also site of indigenous significance (although not as much mentioned on that). And a failed breakwater project which sits as a reminder of failed public works projects from days of yore.
Alice Kimberley — Google review
What a wonderful venue to showcase sculptural artworks! A good variety of mixed media and a lot of metal sculptures were on display at 'Sculpture in the Gaol' in September 2023. Would've liked to have seen more clay sculptures. No trouble finding a parking spot and we were treated by the sight of a pod of whales just as we arrived.
Temmina Kuijpers — Google review
Have been here several times over the years and still find something interesting on every visit.
The intro video (continuously running in the room in the right-hand corner after entering the entry gates) gives a great description of the gaol that puts everything into perspective as you walk around.
Signage around the site is pretty informative if you have time to read it. Don't forget to have a look at the museum on the way out (through the left hand door as you exit the gates). It's over 2 levels which may not be accessible to everyone as there is a narrow staircase.

A must see place of you are nearby! Wonderful jail with a lot of history. Highly recommend the Twilight Tour (book ahead online). It's 1.5 hour with a very knowledgeable guide. Really explains the full story behind the place. Lots of signs with photos bring the history to life.

We did the twilight trial bay jail tour, the knowledge was good and the lady who did the tour had a good personality. The tour went for 90minutes which was good. The history of the jail was different to what I thought. View is lovely

Great family experience. There is a 10min intro video with the history. You can enter the cells and lock them etc, they make a great iron clashing sound. There are story boards everywhere as you go, I especially liked the bath house. Parking is direct out the front. Cost was $40 2A1C.

Amazing views all around. Was lucky enough to see a handful of whales from the top at the lighthouse as well. Definitely worth the trip, though watch the road on the drive in, there are some large/deep potholes.

The views were amazing. Plenty of parking and easy ~500m walk but steep incline. I was disappointed there wasn't a set of information signs to tell the history/stories, and the venue was closed, on a sat morning. It's an operating light house with incredible ocean views. This is in a National Park and dogs are strictly prohibited even in cars.

My third visit this year. The views are always stunning and the drive there through the rainforest is stunning also. The short but very steep walk from the car park up to the lighthouse needs to be taken slowly with frequent breaks to study the view.

We were here five years ago and saw a few whales. This time again, we were not disappointed. A mother whale and her calf were playing. Spectacular to watch in the already stunning scenery. Koala Hospital is a wildlife rehabilitation center located in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia. The facility offers treatment and rehabilitation for sick and injured koalas as well as research into the plights of these much-loved animals. Koala Hospital is nationally recognised and provides intensive care units and yards for rehabilitation.
Don't miss going here! They get no government funding which is disgusting and don't charge entry! The organisation rely solely on the donations of people. You can sponsor a koala or simply make a donation. They have so many volunteers and they are all doing an amazing job... They're definitely Earth Angels every one of them!

It was beautiful to see all the gorgeous koalas. It was very sad though to see the stories of how they became to the hospital. There was a cheeky one or two also. The guides are very informative and the carers are very dedicated. A wonderful place for families. It also has a coffee caravan with delicious food and drinks and gorgeous seating areas.

We really enjoyed spending an hour here this morning learning about the amazing work the Koala Hospital do and quietly observing the resident koalas. We got a wonderfully warm welcome from the staff who were happy to answer any questions (though the information displayed was so clear and comprehensive that we didn’t have any!). We were amazed that the hospital is free to visit, so we gladly showed our support by buying several items from the well-stocked gift shop.

Could I give it 6 stars ? Only because it is such a wonderful place to go. Not full of gimmicks or animals doing tricks. Just full of lovely, safe happy Koalas. And full of lovely, friendly and dedicated staff. Mostly volunteers I believe. The stories are heartbreaking but the results heart warming. The staff are so friendly and clearly they love the bears so much. Thank you for your care and loving attention. We loved our visit. Such good work being done for those dear animals.

A wonderful spot that is free to enter and where any donations you do give go towards saving more koalas.
Staff were super friendly and incredibly helpful, and loved to be asked questions (and answer them in detail).

Loved coming here to see the Koalas. We came and stayed in the area to look for koalas but never saw any in the wild this stay. Some gorgeous koalas. Some super sad how they got there, like Ella. The small orphaned baby joey koala was super cute too. I would come here again and visit Jade and Ella. Nice little interact stups with koala facts and mini Museum with taxidermy.

It was such a great experience to learn more about koalas, their habits, how to protect & respect them but also meet the ones injured and cared at the hospital by amazing and loving people. The entrance is free so I was really happy to buy some gifts at the shop and contribute to help them in their mission.

It's a very important place to conserve the koala population. The volunteers are doing a great job. The new "koalaseum" next to the hospital is very informative and interesting. This was my 4th visit there. It's a shame that the institution is still running only on donations. The Australian government DOES NOT support the koala hospital. Although that animal is an Aussie icon as well and must be protected like other.

Amazing experience visiting the resident koalas and learning all the facts about koalas in general. We visited first thing in the morning when the koalas are most active. We also had breakfast at the cafe on site which was lovely. Highly recommend this visit

What a special place full of amazing volunteers and beautiful, rescued koalas. Each have their own special story. Visit if you can and help support the hospital. ❤️ 🐨 ❤️

Fantastic place!!
So good to see the Kaolas who are wounded, recovering or for the lifetime being in care. It's definitely important to know that these amazing animals are being cared for. It's definitely worth a visit. Would love to have lent a hand to help, if its possible would love to know.

We love the Koalas, and this little hospital for them at Port Macquarie didn’t disappoint.
Many of the Koalas are being helped to get well enough so as they can be released back into the wild, however, some have been hurt so badly by cars and other injuries that they will
Remain here forever.
But all in all, if you love these cute little furry creatures you’ll love it.
There’s a Cafe and a shop to buy some cute little gifts to help them out along with the donation box.
Alan Gillett — Google review
Lots of koalas visible in the trees and one even pacing up and down eight in front of us. A well run facility with helpful staff willing to tell us the background behind each inhabitant. Fortunately they don't show any badly injured koalas, so it was a positive, uplifting experience. And it's free!!
Bob Heginbothom — Google review
Great place! They take care of multiple koalas here. You can see the koalas up close. There is a nice informative part at the beginning with some funny "did you know" facts about koalas and other animals. During our visit they were feeding a koala.
Thomas Bollen — Google review
Well worth a visit. Set in beautiful grounds, these amazing creatures are nursed and nurtured back into their native environment where possible. Loved my visit here, and was more than happy to buy a few gifts in the shop at the end. The volunteers are more than happy to engage and are very informative.
If you're nearby, please do go!

I love Australian Volunteers culture, the Koala 🐨🐨🐨 Hospital only got 4 paid full time then like 180 volunteers to run the Koala Hospital! We bought few souvenirs and a small donation to support this lovely Koala Hospital. Every day the volunteers will do room service for the Koala and the Koala will be trained and test to ensure they fit for the Wild environment again! For the one injured, then they will be permenate residents at the Koala hospital and enjoy 5 stars service. The Koalas there looks happy to me so I give it a 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

so sweet! much better than a zoo! you can see about 10 koalas and the volunteers will tell you all their stories, you get close to them. entry is free, it’s non profit and on donations afterwards. such a great place!
The Sea Acres Rainforest Centre is a tourist attraction located near Port Macquaries beachfront. The centre offers an elevated boardwalk that allows visitors to walk through the rainforest. The centre also offers a coffee shop and cafe.
I really enjoyed coming to the Sea Acres Rainforest Centre. Easy access for parking and viewing the Centre, as well as the boardwalk.
Lots of interesting, educational plaques throughout. Great to get a different view from the canopy walk. Just disappointed we arrived too late for the guided tour. Would definitely go back.

Nice place to walk and relax among the trees, it’s okay to do even on a hot day as you are quite protected from the trees making it pleasant to dwell and take in the scenery along the walk which takes around 30-40 minutes return depending on your walking pace. Easy walk though.

Saw a powerful owl! Interesting Guides along the walk who were happy to share their wealth of knowledge. Gift shop has a lovely selection of various priced gifts (for others or self!). Cafe was nice, lovely way to spend a morning.

Really loved this place, would take a good 2 hours to go round the Sea acres rainforest, the fact that you would get to see some very unique trees, and very old one at that is quite stunning. The board walk is circular and you would live close to pure nature and breath absolutely unspoiled air while being inside. The most interesting aspect is that you get to see how the Fig trees grow and some are marvelous and can impart so much education. A fantastic place and a very refreshing feeling..

The Land Of The Giants. Everything is reaching for the sky. So beautiful. Beautifully maintained, lovely staff. Cafè fabulous.
Dunes Tee — Google review
Easy walk and refreshing air with a few wild animals to spot, nice but average view of rainforest. Very short route which is a bit overpriced, they even charge $1 for one paper map after paying for tickets already. Still recommend to have a walk here, but the pricing can be fixed better.
Guapi He — Google review
A lovely short walk on high boardwalks. Well constructed. Gives a fantastic view of rainforest. We didn't see many animals but loved just being in nature and seeing the different trees.
Katie Hughes — Google review
We loved it, enjoyed our time by walking around, captured a blue tongue lizard, a turkey and a goanna.
BUT be aware that they charge $1 for one piece of paper map/ a short introduction of animals, or at least inform customers that it cost $1 before we pay as it’s usually included in the ticket price. To be honest, this $1 paper map selling strategy sucks as people usually don’t mind to pay that $1 if it’s included in the ticket not after paid for the ticket and get charged another $1 for the paper map. Receptionist don’t inform customer either, this is quite rude.

During our visit to Port Macquarie we visited this place. Such a peaceful place. I would love to go back again.
During our walk we got to meet Beautiful volunteer Mary Curtis who is an expertise about rainforest. We are soo glad we got to meet her and chat about the rainforest.
Such a beautiful walk inside the rainforest. So much to learn and see about different flora and fauna. Takes 30-40mins Max to finish. Free entry and plenty of free parking outside the centre.
Wish to come back soon 💜

Lovely place, we didn't see any animals however we were lucky enough to see a powerful owl which was amazing 😊

It was really busy but the staff were lovely and we enjoyed the nice gift shop. The walk itself is only 1.3kms but we really took our time so stayed out an hour, I am sure others can do it in half that. Everything looked a little dry in the forest but lots of places are suffering the same fate. Would recommend if you like nature, but its not a zoo so wildlife is hit and miss

It's been 20 years since our last visit. The location hasn't changed very much. I had my first chai latte 20 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, I had another this visit and was pleasantly surprised that they were as good then and it was now..

Always a lovely experience here. The boardwalk is great- something new to see each time you visit. On this visit, desk staff pointed out two roosting powerful owls at walk marker 78-79. Our first time seeing them! The cafe and gift shop are also great! I purchased some stuffed animals for my grandchildren and we had some takeaway treats from the cafe: apple pie, strawberry tart, and GF rhubarb muffin(favorite).

159 Pacific Dr, Port Macquarie NSW 2444, Australia
The Tacking Point Lighthouse is an iconic white cement lighthouse with a keeper's cottage on a rocky headland on the Australian coast. Built in 1879, it is one of Australia's oldest lighthouses and one of its most popular tourist destinations. The air-conditioned accommodation includes a patio with garden views and private parking available on site.
Great spot for overnight parking/camping on car, waking up to see the sunrise straightaway. Nice view for hiking/exercises. Saw lots of people surfing near the beach. Nice Milky Way viewing at night, no light pollution. Good view and landscape for both scenic and portrait photography shots. Lots of birds flying around for spotting.
Guapi He — Google review
Stunning views at the Lighthouse and the nearby viewpoints. The Pacific ocean looks so beautiful and the sound of the waves coupled with nice breeze makes the moments so memorable. The location is not very crowded. This is one of the must visit locations for the visitors at Port Macquarie. Good parking area available nearby, however, one may not get the slots easily.
Bijoy John — Google review
The lighthouse is beautifully kept, startling white and on a magnificent sight with views for miles. It was well worth the walk up there and they now have seats and a great lookout platform hanging over the cliff (I wasn't crazy enough to lean over but my friends did.)

Absolutely amazing place. I love the 360 degree view of beach and the ocean. The gradiant of blue colour of sky and water looks beautiful. It was humid hot day but the wind makes me so fresh. The nearby beach are great for swimming. Limited car parks.. better find nearby off road parking.
B. R Shrestha — Google review
Another perfect spot for both sunrises and sunsets. It does get a little crowded, though there is always space to set up a picnic. Very limited parking, so make sure you beat the crowds if you're interested in getting there for the sunset
Gavin Rudling — Google review
This is a beautiful spot to watch the sunset. There is a high mound located next to the lighthouse, which makes it great for taking group photos. If you choose a good angle, you can even capture the entire moon or sun in your picture.
Tim Nguyen — Google review
Amazing views great for a simple drive round or you can hop out and wonder around, their is even a walk down to lighthouse beach (steep with stairs). Just be aware it can get busy with cars and parking can be tricky if lots of people are there.

We went here to see Whales🐋 and we were not disappointed. I have never seen some many Whales breaching and blowing. Great bench seats available to just sit and watch the view we sat there for a couple of hours just enjoying the Whales. I just wish I could click my camera fast enough to catch the Whales breaching.

Historic lighthouse with amazing views. South you can see all the way to Dunbogan including the large mountain called North Brother. There is a photograph with names of all points of interest on the horizon, however it is badly faded and only the names are easily read. It is a nature's wonderland of coastal walks and tropical vibes.

The Tacking Point Lighthouse is an amazing lookout point, with breathtaking views. Constructed in 1879 and is one of the oldest lighthouses in New South Wales. Beautiful views of the Lighthouse Beach and the Pacific Ocean. Parking is free with limited spots, but usually, it's not crowded. Recommended.

No words to describe the absolute beauty of this place, one of the finest beaches in Australia. Amazing place to watch the sunset.
Tomaree Head is a picturesque peninsula that boasts sandy beaches and hiking trails leading up bushy mountains, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean. The hike is moderately challenging, involving some climbing up stairs, but the well-maintained pathway makes it relatively easy. Along the way, hikers can admire about 1 km of lush vegetation on an elevated walkway while taking in stunning vistas of numerous bays and coves from the summit.
Definitely another must visit at Shoal Bay, in addition to the summit walk. It’s an easy flat walk with ocean breeze and access to the WWII torpedo emplacement & six inch gun emplacement, just be careful navigating through the rocks.
Terry Wang — Google review
About 1 km of very scenic vegetation, elevated walk away. Moderate ability. Some climbing up the stairs. The views were awesome. You can see many bays and coves from the summit. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in this area.

Gorgeous short 1km hike to the summit, beautiful 360 views at the top. Lots of stairs near the top, there are a few options to choose a paved path or traditional hiking path. These can be down in sneakers or even summer sandals if you didn’t pack hiking boots. It took me 12 minutes to get to the top, only stopping twice for a quick picture.

We love the marina. It really gives our town a lively beating heart with loads of good restaurants on offer as you wander around.
Great place to:
Buy some fresh fish
Go fishing along the breakwater
Let the kids play and run around
Grab the best ice cream in town
Enjoy a meal
Go on an excursion on the water
Have a bbq overlooking the Marina
… or just sit and relax
We watch the NYE fireworks here and the atmosphere is really festive with lots going on. Will do the same next year.

A clean and modern venue with a variety of shops. The shops that are there are OK, but there are a lot of vacant ones, and the restaurants are mostly a bit too fancy for kids to eat at. Parking is a bit expensive, and can be hard to come by, at times. A nice place to sit down and relax, opposite the sail boats.

D'albora Nelson Bay is just a fantastic marina. Not only is it in one of the most beautiful harbours you'd ever want to visit, it has great cafes and restaurants, a good workshop, lift, excellent facilities and very friendly staff.
I had a longer than expected stop due to mechanical issues, and the place quickly felt like home. It was actually a pleasure to be laid up here

The marina has a nice mix of shops, restaurants and is pleasantly located. Also some cool activities like giant chess.
I would have rated much more highly but I am grumpy about the fish feeding. We saw this a few years ago. It seemed to have stopped on our visit a year ago. We (well, my daughter) were very excited to see signs saying it was back at 10.30 daily. We turned up at 10.29 one day, to see the final scraps of fish thrown in and the feeder walk away as we arrived. The next day, there was just no show. I mean it's free and all, but hard to get your kids excited about an activity only for it to not run as advertised.

Gan Gan Lookout is a popular viewpoint that provides wide-ranging vistas of Nelson Bay and its surroundings. It can be accessed by car, and the lookout points are conveniently located just 10 meters from where you park. The views from this prominent location are stunning, making it a great spot to take in the beauty of Port Stephens.
View from the top. Nelson bay and Anna bay coastal line view. Let you immerse you in the thought of how beautiful your mother nature is.
Two look outs one on the top of the hill other one being just on the side of the carpark.
Views are great in itself no need to pay for those coin operated binoculars.
Not too many parking spots. Drive carefully as road is narrow.

Nice lookout for getting a good view of most of Port Stephens, but something we'll probably skip next time. We went there on an Easter Weekend and parking was just too problematic. I hope there would be like an overflow parking before the steep and narrow parts of the drive uphill. Just to give an option to those who are willing to go for a longer walk.

Drive up Lily Hill Road to a small car park underneath the radio transmission tower and walk up a small safe concrete path (slightly upslope) to Gan Gan Hill Lookout.

There are some very pretty views to be had here, provided you continue to the top and don't stop after the view by the car park like we almost did! But bear in mind that the viewing area is quite small, as is the car park. Also there's some kind of power station jammed in the middle of the place which certainly harms the aesthetics.

Fantastic lookout you just have to visit. You can see for miles down towards Newcastle. There are 2 viewing platforms so make sure you see both. If you want to take sunset photos, this place is amazing. I arrived there at 5.10pm and walked though the small pathway next to electricity towers to the lookout. (There are two lookout points, the one at the parking area can not see sunset, has to walk though the small path. Don't get confused) :)
Oakvale Wildlife Park is a 25-acre attraction that offers an array of fun activities for all ages. Visitors can interact with animals such as kangaroos and koalas by feeding them. Apart from the wildlife, there are other adventures to explore like tractor rides, reptiles, and birds. Additionally, the water play area is perfect for cooling down on hot days with its big splash bucket suitable for everyone. The park is well-maintained with plenty of green grass and not too dusty.
One of the best places to visit if your in Port Stephens or on your way out as a day trip. It works out perfectly if your check out is 10am as the shows start around 10:45am so plenty of time to make it. The grounds are well looked after and the animals look well cared for. Grab a feed bag or two as this will give you more up close and personal attention from the baby farm animals that roam the park and the kangaroos. There is a couple of camels too, which are very friendly. The splash park is an awesome addition to the park. A great place to cool off after walking around and the kids didn’t want to leave. There is a cafe for snacks and sandwiches but they have no problem with you bringing in a packed lunch. Great value for the day and definitely something we would like to experience again. We were here in February just after the school holidays and the crowds just right. Great park, great staff great experience!! They also accept discover vouchers which is a bonus 👍🏽

Friendly and informative staff, we went on a weekday so it wasn’t too busy or crowded. It’s a medium sized park so there isn’t too much walking to do but there is still plenty of animals to say hello to. The staff seems passionate about the animals and they seem very well taken care of. We even got to hop on the last tractor ride of the day that takes you around the park and the lady who drove the tractor gave plenty of information and facts about the animals as we drove by. You can feed the animals and purchase food for them $2 a bag which is plenty!

It’s a great weekend gateway for the whole family. The best part is kids love to feed animals with their hands and touch them as well. And there is a compact splash 💦 pad for kids. If you forget to bring your own costume, you can buy it from there to instead shop.
Price wise is also reasonable -
Adult- $37
Kids- $21

Loved this place , absolutely fascinating. I never knew I could have Soo much fun with animals and get all up close and personal with them. I could feed the baby lambs and goats and baby cows and Fully Grown Camels 🐪🐪🐪. There were plenty of wild ducks, wallabys and kangaroos who weren't afraid of humans and were happy to be fed and petted. I also milked the cow and it was amazing. The highlight would probably be the tractor ride which I recommend everyone to do at the start of their trip as it gives a full view of the park and what it has to offer. There were also koalas, snakes, alligators, lizards and all you'd expect Australian fauna to offer. My favourite animal was the CAMEL. They are such confident and dominating creatures who are 100% sure that humans will feed them.

Beyond the interactive experience of patting and feeding animals, the park features diverse play zones, including a water park tailored for kids. Their on-site restaurant offers a variety of both cold and hot dishes, from sandwiches to burgers, all complemented by coffee brewed from Red Parrot Coffee Beans.
An engaging tractor ride offers a cruisy tour around the park. A standout attraction for me was the Southern Cassowary—a truly captivating and unique bird. With ample free parking available, anticipate spending more time here than initially planned. It's an experience both kids and parents are sure to cherish.

Great day out. We drove up from Gosford and it was worth the drive. Staff were all very nice and friendly. The cafe food was reasonably priced. My kids loved bottle feeding the goats. Animals had plenty of space to roam, and seemed happy enough. My kids absolutely loved the splash pad and was great on a 32 degree day. Tractor ride was great. Would definitely recommend. Only downside was some enclosures (koala) etc, had high fences but no little steps or viewing windows for little kids to see them. Apart from that, had a fabulous day and will be coming back for sure.

Too expensive for what it is. This is more like a animal farm than wildlife park. The kids will enjoy the interaction with the farm animals and feeding the lambs. We felt the lamb were left hungry to make sure they come to the people at feeding time. The animals seems to be quite used to interacting with people, so they are pretty safe for the kids to interact with. Overall, not the best value for your buck.

This place is god damn good. There are lot of animals, especially free Kangaroos that you could feed up. The staff are super polite and very friendly. Kids also enjoy the water games here. No rush, no wait, just an amazing place to visit. Each time we come to on Nelson bay now, we don’t miss this park! Would come again and again!

We absolutely adored this place!
Super easy to get to and plenty of parking. The park itself is well looked after and has plenty of different animals to see and feed. It was really nice to have the experience of feeding larger animals and getting up close to them. They are all very well looked after and have spacious enclosures. We really enjoyed the croc talk and feed time, super interesting to see them in action and learn about different animals.
I would absolutely go back again!
Guided tours, festivals & a cafe at a storied penitentiary that operated from 1848 to 1998.
Visited Maitland Gaol at around midday on a Sunday. Parking easily out the front. Self guided and guided tours also available. We decided on the self guided tour which was $19 for an adult. Estimated to take around 90 minutes (however it is at your own pace so you may be a little quicker or slower) it took us around 2 hours. There is a phone application you can download which gives you history and information on each point of interest with there being around 24 in total. Overall a great experience and definitely worthwhile making a trip for.

Pretty interesting place to visit. You can use your NSW Discover voucher. The self guided experience is good, you do it on your phone after downloading an app. I enjoyed the visit, but I wish they made the direction of the tour clearer, as I got confused on several occasions. Signposting of the tour direction needs to improve, but this place is certainly worth a visit if you are in Maitland.

This was a mix between serious ghost hunt and theatrical horror house.
The atmosphere at night is amazingly solemn and creepy.
We were told some interesting history on the tour. I wish I had done a little more research into the history before the tour so that I could have put myself into the experience more.

Great location to visit.
Did a self guided audio tour that can be completed with an app on your phone to do it at your own pace, so much to explore.
Went with a small child and there was enough to keep her entertained for the time we were there.
I would like to see in the future more stories of inmates and general history around on posters like in the chapel.
Ample bathroom facilities throughout, if you are sensitive to mould perhaps bring a mask as it is a little bit mouldy (to be expected in a 150 year old historical building)

We really enjoyed our visit to the gaol and would go back again but take the kids. Using an app you get some great commentary but I'd recommend taking headphones 🎧 !!! so that you can listen in peace without having to have your phone on loud speaker 🔊 . Overall an interesting experience and insight into the world of jails.

I came here years ago to watch a prison movie in the exercise yard but only just recently did a self guided tour. It is done through an app which is easy to navigate, but make sure you bring some earphones. Not sure what those without a smart phone would use if they don't do a guided tour. I would love to go back to do a ghost/night tour. Very cold so make sure to rug up in winter.

After living in the city now for 30 years and passing this historic treasure SO many times, I have finally had a tour. I enjoyed it. Although only a partial tour with many more available, to see the conditions prisoners had to endure, and contributions to Australian and local history is amazing. Local or not, a visit is essential. It is well maintained and operated by our council and friendly and knowledgeable staff

What a waste of money. We did the night tour. Young children crying and wanting to leave. People with torches in your face. Nothing too exciting or interesting. People filming for a paranormal experience with fake noises in the background.

A great experience for all the family. We had age range 5-60+ and all enjoyed themselves. Interesting, informative and eerie. Scan QR code at reception to access the audio tour to listen in your phone as you walk through the goal at your own pace. A good rainy day activity.

Maitland gaol was a great experience with a great audio tour from your own mobile phone. I was able to stream this straight to my cochlear implants and also have the transcript to read as well for full accessibility. We’re looking forward to coming back when we can tour the towers.

Good old country jail, worth a weekend visit. I took the self guided audio tour, which took me around 2.5 hours to visit all the exhibit areas, listen to all the accompanying tracks and really immerse myself in the whole thing. The entire place is very well maintained and was not too crowded, though a pair of headphones is recommended. While there, I saw one of the guided tours where the tour guide was animatedly explaining the history behind one of the exhibits; I liked her passionate presentation and will definitely book myself in on one of those tours for the next visit. Parking was not an issue and the town itself had quite a few dining options, so overall it was a good day out for the family. The only thing that can be improved a bit is the map they provided for the self guided tour. Even though all the exhibit areas were well marked, following the route sequentially based on the map was pretty challenging, at least to me on my first visit.
The Newcastle Memorial Walk is a pathway that overlooks the cliffs of Strzelecki Headland with amazing views of the ocean. The pathway is made up of steel sculptures that commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Australian soldiers who fought in World War I.
Nice view from the elevated path. Spectacular view of the sea, beach, city. If you get a chance check the rain approaching over the sea.

Popular little spot to visit. Especially in school holidays. Had to park a couple of streets away and walk up the hill to it. Great views and beautiful place to walk though. Worth having to park far away.

Great scenic walk high up along the cliff. Park at the top can be limited. If you can walk up, plenty of carparka by the beach side

Beautiful scenic walk along the coast.
The only down side and not advertised is that there are stairs after about 450 Meters of starting and prams cannot go beyond that.
A big disappointment but never the less beautiful walk.

The wind was so strong today it ripped my wig off. If I don’t get it back there will be hell to pay.

If you’re visiting Newcastle, you should check out this beautiful coastal walk which showcases this stunning coast line, plenty of water stations and views along the way. Can get steep at some points along can get busy so pick your times. I would recommend early morning.

Park your car here, you can walk on both sides, one side is the city view and the other is the sea view, you must come here to enjoy this view, you can walk up to the other end to see the sea.
Great place to take pictures for your girl.
It is very easy to park here, there is a small parking lot and there are many places on the road.

The walk is wonderful , the ocean view is so impressive, the waves are so big and I can see rainbow. Also spot some dolphins in distance. Highly recommended

Stunning bit of coastline! 🌊 There are some stairs, but it's worth it.
This walk reminds me of the Bondi to Manly walk in Sydney near Dover Heights, epic cliff views that spill out onto a beach.
Great history info along the Anzac Bridge. And have a coffee at Swell at the end! ☕

Easy walk with spectacular views. If you park in the carpark walk up the pathway to get to the top then finish the walk down the stairs.

Nice walk, if you’re in Newcastle you should definitely make time to fit this in and enjoy the sea breeze why walking along the boardwalk. If you have time you can also head down to the beach and explore some of the nearby cafes etc

Nice walk from Scott St, slightly hilly.
Amazing views.
Shepherds Hill cottage sits on top of the hill with historical battlement lookout perched on edge of cliff.
Parking out front if coming by car and apparently close to start of Memorial Walk which I will do for another day.
Sadly graffiti on the outpost stops this pristine site from being 5 star.

I had the privilege of visiting the "New Castle Memorial Walk" in NSW, Australia, and it left a profound impression. The breathtaking coastal views from this soaring bridge were absolutely captivating, providing a poignant backdrop to the memorial's significance. The walk itself is a testament to the region's rich history and the sacrifices of those who served. The well-maintained pathway, informative plaques, and serene ambiance made it a moving and educational experience. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of natural beauty, history, and reflection, and it stands as a poignant tribute to the past.

Nice walk with photos and information on the Anzac memorial. I did the entire coastal walk from Nobbys Lighthouse down to Merewether beach - most of the walk has fantastic views, similar to most other coastal walks on the NSW coast. Highly recommend this walk.

Newcastle Memorial Walk is a poignant journey that seamlessly weaves together natural beauty and historical reflection. As you ascend the elevated path along the coastline, the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean unfold, creating a serene backdrop that complements the solemn purpose of the walk.
The memorial plaques that line the pathway serve as poignant reminders of the sacrifices made by Australian soldiers in various conflicts. Each plaque tells a unique story, contributing to the collective narrative of bravery and commitment to duty. The juxtaposition of the serene coastal landscape with the weight of history creates a contemplative atmosphere, inviting visitors to reflect on the profound impact of war.
The architectural design of the walk is not only functional but also harmonizes with the rugged coastal environment. It's a thoughtful integration that enhances the overall experience, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in both nature and history. Sunset transforms the scene, casting a warm glow on the ocean and adding an extra layer of beauty to this already significant memorial.
Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll, a connection to history, or simply a moment of reflection, the Newcastle Memorial Walk offers a multifaceted experience that resonates with locals and visitors alike. It stands as a living tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, set against the backdrop of Newcastle's stunning coastal vistas.

Beautiful and respectful walk. Bonus was seeing a pod of dolphins. Heaps for parking at the bottom end but you need to climb quite a few stairs. Park at the top end and you go do the majority of the walk and best views without any steps making it accessible. Downside is limited parking close by but there are two disabled parks.
The Blackbutt Nature Reserve is a 182 hectare reserve in the suburbs of Newcastle, Australia that features walking trails, playgrounds and picnic shelters with free electric barbecues. The main attraction at the reserve are the animals living there, including koalas, emus, wallabies, wombats and peacocks. The boardwalks make it easy to take kids on walks around the enclosures and see these animals up close.
We’re big native animal fans and this is a great, free park with great access to native animals. There’s paid parking but access to the park is free.
We loved the emus, wombats, kangaroos and bird exhibits. The staff are friendly and there’s a great picnic and grass area with barbecues and play equipment to bring the family. We spent about an hour there and would recommend it to anyone in or visiting Newcastle.

Beautiful place unfortunately no regulations, so lots of screaming kids disturbing the poor animals. Would love to see more signs or see parents teach their kids to be quiet. A few of these animals are nocturnal... Do better! Worth a visit regardless.

Lovely place for kids to see and enjoy Aussie animals. Plenty to do and see, could be an all day activity, if you bring a picnic lunch or cook a bbq. Busy on weekends, but quiet during the week. There is a playground there too. The boardwalk where you can view the animals opens at 10am. It’s $13 per day for parking (or $4 per hour).

Canadian traveller here. I was very pleased with this nature walk! Plenty of parking and picnic areas to eat with families. I just loved how the peacocks were freely roaming around and minding their own business. The koalas were one of our highlights. This is a must see when visiting the area.

No entry fee, car park $8 for 2 hours. Absolutely loved it, it wasn't too busy being a week day and we took our time in every single enclosure. Animals seem very well looked after. My favourite was the wombat with the bonus of seeing them first outside eating and then at the end of the tour in their "tunnels" sleeping! Great experience, would definitely recommend.

What a great area, always drove past to/from work but never knew what it was. Great for kids parties, large grass area, playground and BBQ areas. Parking is $14 for the day but entry to see animals is free so well worth it. Also lots of bushwalks, get amongst it!

A nice place to hangout for picnic or small parties. Kids will love the place as there is a small walking trail, which goes through a lot of wildlife like owls, lizards, peacocks, birds of various kinds on display.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a free native wildlife display. The birds were amazing and were so close. The peacocks were particularly enjoyable. We've never seen such big ones! They were not afraid to come quite close to us and put on a lovely display of their feathers. We wished we could have gone on a longer walk as they looked good but my father was not feeling well. They have very good toilet facilities, the kiosk was open until 3pm and the lady who runs it I'd very friendly. Would love to go back

Car park is $4 per hour or $13 per day. There is plenty of grass area and picnic shelters. The picnic shelters can be reserved for private functions. There is also a play area for kids. Visited on a weekday, so not busy at all and very easy to find a car park. Good amenity facilities and great playground and picnic area. Absolutely a great place to spend some quality time with your kids and family. Highly recommend, will come again!

Good place to take the whole family with play ground, walking trails, electric barbecues, park benches and tables, paid under cover shelter and even a kiosk (closed when we visited on a Tuesday). Nicely maintained and kept clean. Entry is free but there are parking metres out in the parking lot with minum fee of $5. There's a duck pond located just after the well maintained lawn near the entrance with peacocks and wild turkeys roaming the grounds even out in the car park area. In the enclosed animal enclosures there are wallabies, kangaroos and emus.

The last time I had been here was close to a decade ago. The amount of effort put in to upgrade the facilities and cleanup the water quality in the main pond is phenomenal. Highly recommend this place for eating a takeaway lunch or just quiet contemplation during the week. Not so quiet on weekends or holidays.

What a huge and wonderful place for family barbecues and picnics and areas to play.
The animal enclosure was such a surprise...
Sadly, we were let down by the absence and clarity of signage for walking. We would come to the t junction and sign showing 2 directions not 3 and placed in a funny spot.
We have hiked many parks and we were dismayed to get lost at this one and walked right outside onto the main road to get back to our car.

Came across this wonderful reserve today and so glad we did. It's beautifully maintained, with many walking tracks, sheltered seating areas, alongside BBQ areas, clean restrooms & various shelters that you can book in advance. The well constructed walkways take you amongst the trees, where you can see an amazing variety of animals. At the pond, we stopped and were thrilled to see many tortoises, trying to camouflage themselves amongst the underwater habitat. There is also a well constructed playground with lots of tactile activities for the kids.
A perfect spot for the whole family! 🙂🙂🙂

A wonderful place to visit. Beautiful scenery, wildlife and overall facilities. The only issue is paid parking which at $4 an hour is pretty pricey. As well as that the meters don't work. So unless you're prepared to put another app on your phone, it's a problem. Ok so I'm a Little bit tainted because when our kids were young it was always free to come here and I have many happy memories from those years. Difficult for people struggling with the current cost of living issues to now bring kids out for some fun and adventure in the bush when Newcastle Council is money grabbing with metered parking.

Really good spot, fun for the whole family. Got to see some amazing peacocks and emus which was really cool. The opening times could be a bit earlier, overall it was a solid walking track. It was peaceful and quite pretty, you can see things such as Rosellas, Cockatoos, Peacocks, Wallaby’s, Emus and more. Good place :)

Great variety of native animals (koalas, emus, kangaroos, a wide variety of birds etc). Amazing that this is free entry - many other reserves would charge for such a collection of animals.
