The rooms are clean with good amenities. Cooking area, balcony and washing machine. My room had 2 double rooms and 2 ensuites. The better views were on the other side of the building looking out onto the water. Lots of eateries downstairs in the Dolphin Quays area. Office is hard to get to if you are out all day.

It is a great place for a family holiday. The self-contained units are well furnished and easy to get to. Lots of food options around and the views of the mains are amazing.

We stayed three nights [Superior Marina View - Two Bedrooms]. It was reasonably affordable. The room was quite narrow, so we shifted a few things to pop a cot and bassinet in. The windows are double-glazed - we couldn't hear any outside noise once the doors were shut. The room was fitted with an air-conditioning unit, dishwasher, washer and dryer. The apartment is certainly not new, but it was incredibly clean. The balcony is huge considering the size of the inside area. The location is great - a short stroll to the main strip in town and a few steps away from cafes and restaurants. We will certainly consider staying here again. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

My family and I just had a wonderful stay at the Dolphin Quay Apartment Hotel. Our 2 bedroom apartment was extremely clean and had excellent facilities too. The location was perfect and a special thank you to the amazing, friendly staff of Rebecca and Emily at reception and the housekeeping team. Looking forward to returning again soon!

A great place to stay that's right in the heart of everything with plenty of food and drink options nearby.
The only issue we had during our stay was the temperature of the bedrooms. The apartment only has one split system air conditioner in the main living area and with the summer heat the cold air only went into the bedroom directly opposite the A/C. The other bedroom further away was very warm & made getting a good nights sleep difficult.
Each room needs either its own split system air-conditioner or a celing fan.

Nice clean apartments with all the mods and cons. Short walks to heaps of of restaurants and cafe's, shops and market's. And a beautiful view of the water, and boat moorings. Stunning.

Great location, short walk to the foreshore and marina shops/restaurants. Comfortable rooms and nice balcony views. Very friendly staff.
Ozy Mark — Google review
Stayed three nights over the long weekend Feb/Mar 2014 in a two room apartment with marina view. (Single rooms not available.) Price was over $380 a night but that might have been due to long weekend rates.
Nice view from large balcony. Comfortable bed, reasonable bathroom and adequate kitchen facilities with a handful of tea bags and sachets of instant coffee.
Carpet in serious need of replacement - past being able to fix with cleaning. Bedside clock didn't work, wall clock didn't work, TV remote batteries almost dead. Long walk from fume filled underground carpark to our room with luggage a nuisance (which though can't be helped is still worth taking into account).
Being right above pubs, clubs and restaurants, the noise of the "wildlife" lasted long into the night, if not from below from people on other balconies. One could have the balcony door open or some quiet, but not both.
Occasionally fumes from boat engines in the marina also chased us off the balcony.
All that aside, it was in easy walking distant to everything along the Mandurah foreshore, and a good location to visit nearby towns and attractions.
We wouldn't stay there again, but did appreciate the view of the marina - even seeing a dolphin casually searching for food.

NOT worth the money!! NOT family friendly!!!! We have paid $299 p/night for a tired run down room. The carpets are stained, one of the bedrooms blinds don't keep the light out (no good for kids), lifts are slow (one set of buttons don't work in the lift), the living space is tiny!! We paid extra to have the balcony space but that doesn't make up for the tiny interior with oversized furniture that is poorly placed that you are likely to trip on something. To top it off at 6am a neighbouring apartments alarm went off, then midday as we are putting our young kids down for a nap they decided to test the fire alarm of these apartments....then at 7pm as we are putting the kids to bed for the night the fire alarm goes off for a full evacuation! The firemen came and said the alarm was set off because of the restaurant kitchens below the apartments tripping the system, and its a common problem. Seriously regretting spending our money here. Should have used it on an escape to the Crown instead!

Great place to stay,we had a room with a balcony overlooking the marina.
Place was very clean, everything that you could possibly need was provided including a BBQ for a self catering escape .
Would stay again.
Super close to loads of restaurants.
Beach within metres for kids to swim.

Beautiful apartment and well maintained. Highly recommend a stay here. There are a few pubs/eateries on the ground floor and more over the footbridge. A beach right next door.
madmal01 — Google review
This place is in a wonderful position, but unfortunately that also means it is noisy. They have thought of everything in the two bedroom apartments but unfortunately the carpet is so disgustingly stained that it puts a damper on the appearance. Also attention to details should be observed by housekeeping, found a few
small issues with cleaning and they did not leave any coffee for us just tea. My big issue is the bins in the courtyard they should not be there for customers to see and smell.
Like I said amazing views great position just needs a few things tweaked but not somewhere you would go for quiet.
C MG — Google review
Good solid apartments we've stayed in a few times now. They're close to everything, and our room was clean and neat. Balcony facing the harbour is a great place to soak up the view. It can get a little noisy because of the restaurants/pubs underneath, so we recommend staying on the higher floors if you prefer a quieter stay.
Andrew Young — Google review
Only stayed one night, but would have loved to have enjoyed it longer.
Rooms were clean, modern and of a decent size. Water front view from balcony. Secure parking spaces under the hotel.
Next time I travel to Mandurah, I will book in here.

Apartments are very well located on the quay with lovely views. Apartment was very well laid out large balcony looking over the boardwalk and marina 2 large bedrooms each with private bathrooms. The only complaint that I have was the lounge carpet was quite dirty.
Mark Waro — Google review
We stayed in the Dolphin Quay apartments , but through Airbnb room 218, at Easter 2024 we were charged $450 per night 4 nights, for this privately owned unit, we had booked out at least 10 other rooms as a group booking each through the Dolphin Quays, average price $185 or night . We also paid $90 cleaning charge.
Well there was lip stick all over 2 glasses, 1 roll of toilet paper in both toilets, no soap or shampoo, 2 squirts of dishwashing liquid,
So just be careful and check your pricing when booking these apartments especially the ones that are privately owned , i spoke to the owner Jose and he said his pricing was the same as the normal room charge. Not true!, never offered a refund of the cleaning cost $90 as we had to wash all the dishes ist, also buy toilet paper. So not a good experience , cheaper at the Perth Casino per night to stay and 10 star in comparison , sadly disappointed . And ripped off. Do your research , should have stayed in the Chalets across the road.
Tony Ladbrook — Google review
Depending on your room, there was plenty of space and a great view over the marina. 2 bedroom apartment for us with full laundry and kitchen facilities. 1 underground car spot for each unit, although is very dated and only 1 elevator for the entire complex.
Christian Bowyer — Google review
Nice apartments, I felt very lucky we had a beach view and not over the top of the resturants, think it was pay to check exactly where your room is! We had some trouble with noise from a group of teenagers staying in a big group, I am sure this was a once off though
Observation boardwalk overlooking living rocklike organisms, called thrombolites, on the shore.
Beautiful experience! The deck at the end for the lake was very windy but felt amazing. There are so many Thrombolites and it's such an amazing natural creation. There's a trail along, which is pretty standard and doesn't have a lot of views so we didn't complete it but it's good for a walk regardless.
Ann Chauhan — Google review
It is a beautiful part of the southwest of Western Australia. It's also a nice place to stop off on your way down south. The car park area has toilets and some where to relax. From where you park your car, it's only a short 5 minute walk to the lake. More than worth the slight deviation during your road trip.
Russell Otway — Google review
We went to the Lake Clifton Thrombolites for a little date day. We had a picnic at he provided bench and picnic tables. There's toilet facilities and wheelchair access to the Thrombolites and information plaques along the walk.
It was such a beautiful day. The walk takes about 10 minutes each way and is fully paved until you get to the boardwalk which is made of wood but still accessible to wheelchairs and mobility aids.
We went on to walk to see the giant which took about 30 minutes each way. It's NOT wheel chair accessible as it's all limestone and sand.
F.B. Leach — Google review
Lake Clifton is a perfect spot to watch sunset.
It’s an easy stroll on the boardwalk. Amazing thrombolites, rock like structures on the lake shoreline. A perfect time of the year to watch them. Absolutely would recommend this place for anyone to visit.
Nandhinipriya Giri — Google review
Best time is summer to be there around November to March to be able to clearly see the LIVING ROCKS.
The story of the formation of the lake is unique.
Bridge walk easy access car park toilet available.
Kids will love the story and when they will know that 2000 years old living rocks… it will mesmerise them… have fun
Nelufar Yasmin — Google review
An easy walk to the deck, but parking here can be difficult as it is next to a brewery that is packed with visitors.
There are no shades on the deck, so please come prepared.
It was great to see some ancient thrombolites and understand how it was formed.
No tickets required, it is an open place.
Panna Metta — Google review
It's a real bargain that such rarities of nature can be seen without an entrance fee. With a wonderful boardwalk to allow visitors to admire the Thrombolites from a safe height. Although the most common remark you'll hear 🙉 when visiting this place is "don't they look like rocks 🪨?"
The truth is they do. But admiring and learning about such spectacular 😍 forms of nature is the cool bit. Given that in another part of the world 🌎, views like this would have been conveniently regarded "as just rocks 🪨", and either cheerfully discarded for redevelopment or vandalized with graffiti.
liu yijie — Google review
Beautiful location and easy to get to. The info boards could use some updating but the walk is ready and accessible to all. The path when we went was covered in jewel spiders (December) which made for an extra magical experience.
Michelle Nordmeyer — Google review
Very rare opportunity to see a natural wonder. Especially given it's an easy stroll down a good path. It could use an update on the info boards at the boardwalk, but otherwise wonderful
Rebecca Montsion — Google review
Nice quirky spot, if you don't like spiders walk careful as there are lots of webs with some fairly sized spiders above you.
They offer a historical session and walk as part of the tourist park.
Claire Gilham-Martin — Google review
Beautiful place with interesting facts too. Lovely spot to stop and take in some nature. Reasonable parking and toilet facilities too, they are drop toilets though, but better than nothing. No seating, so not a picnic spot, but there is a Winery up the road. Signs with facts are pretty faded but worth reading.
Vanessa2Lee — Google review
Beautiful, tranquil and just the best place to relax and contemplate the existence of how life started on earth 🌎.
Vince Chase — Google review
It was great to see and also walked to see giant but a long walk and signs small. Motor bike riders passed us on trail but it's a national park shouldn't be there.
Deborah Weaver — Google review
Must visit place.
The ancestors of these Thrombolites are the reason that we have oxygen to breath.
Excellent walking trails as well.
Great but hardly publicised tourist attraction
Vaibhav Bhave — Google review
Having spent a couple of months in Rockingham, this was our first visit to the Thrombolites. Interesting read about the history of this area and its importance. Afterwards, there is a walk, which we did, even spotted an Emu and found one of the Giants. Easy and free parking, public toilet on site.
diane may — Google review
The area of the parking lot contains restrooms as well as a place to relax. There is a lake that can be reached on foot in about five minutes from the location where you park your car. It is well worth the short detour that you took when you were on your road trip. The giant resting point is 30 min walk from the carpark.
aqib khan — Google review
Stunning lake! How beautiful! After years I made it to see the thrombolites… it is mind blowing! Enjoy a quick walk on the wooden pathway and have the most resting pause you can have looking at this awesome scenery! There is also a quick hike around, if you re lucky you might see one of the Giant of Mandurah as well!

Pretty cool place to visit while hunting for the super secret giant. Nice gentle boardwalk to the sore. Probably didn't visit at the right time, the water bit low And doesn't have that teal color water.
Spotted emu while looking for giant.

Great and interesting facts about the little organisms. Jetty is scenic as sun comes down. Has lots of spiders on the way though
Plenty of play in the toddler-friendly playground, ride a bike, ride a mini train, stroll the river/estuary, lots of grass, enough trees, sheltered BBQs, park benches, pleasant views, cafes and restaurants next door. Just really well designed

Great family reserve, close to cafes, pubs and restaurants. Good playground for the littlies and a new circular tidal swimming pool

Great place with beautiful lawns, plenty of places to eat or drink and so much activities for kids, big skate park for the crazy ones! The waterside views are wonderful. We went during the crab festival and although there was lots of people it was big enough for it to be enjoyable.
Jason Wheeler — Google review
It doesn't even feel like you're in Perth. I was very pleasantly surprised by this park. The facilities, the playground and the easy access to the waterways, multiple restaurants, shops etc. Parking was at a premium due to a Easter market running, but it was worth it. Nice walk along the foreshore.
Derek Hughes — Google review
Good location, shady picnic areas, playground and tidal pool which the kids loved. Be better once the new toilet block is finished and the shade sails are back up over the playground.
Mark Wyncoll — Google review
My partner and I went to visit the foreshore for the Christmas light setup they usually have. We drove an hour for it and were a bit disappointed. There was only a few lights up. The view of the water was spectacular but that was it. Hopefully next year will be better.

Beautiful shore to have a picnic. Not able to swim in this area but lots of shade. Swings and there was the Christmas lights set up when we went which was lovely. The parking is really terrible which is the only downfall.
Lots of places to choose from to eat. Also good jetties for fishing.

Great Art and Craft market there on Sundays called Mandjar Markets run by volunteers majority stalls are locals too. Well organised and lots of bargains to be found. Free live music too. Very picturesque setting with plenty of grassed shady areas to have a picnic lunch would definitely recommend for a low cost family outing. Amenities still being built but there's temporary ones available
Plenty of resources to help plan your visit. Some lovely souvenirs. Good location near cafes. Wheelchair accessible.

If your on holiday and need ideas whilst staying in Mandurah this is the place to go. Plenty of information to take away and staff are very helpful. Also grab a gift to take home with you. Lost one star because the toilets were absolutely disgusting and stank.

The bird life is friendly as well.

Its hard for me to remember a worse experience. The staff we talked to ( owners i think ) had no personality and did not make us feel welcome. The menu was vastly different to what was on their website and was only around 6 choices of BASIC food. We ordered fish and chips and I'm sure the fish was Birds Eye. I could pick the fish up and it did not bend ! No cutlery was given with the meal or condiments and when we went to get some we were just about interrogated. I asked for a stout beer to be told they had sold out but hadnt got around to changing the board. Then i ordered a lager and was served an IPA. Good lord. Forget it, will never go back....

We went here today, after I checked out the menu and available beverages. It looked really good. The reality was, the actual menu had 4 choices on a whiteboard. Many of the beers were out of stock or not on tap. The best part was the older lady serving behind the counter/bar was so so rude. After pouring the wrong drinks from tap twice out of 4 drinks and arguing the point, her glares and rolling of the eyes were priceless. I hope the wines are great, I for one will not be finding out.

Always a pleasure to come and taste beers or wines here, great food and service. 5 stars Cape Bouvard.
Lesmurdie Falls National Park is known for its beautiful waterfall, hiking trails and stunning views of the Perth skyline. The park is great for a relaxing day out with plenty of trails to explore.
An amazing place to hike and experience nature not too far out of Perth! There are different car parks to access the park and different routes to hike, can take dogs also. The lookout offers great views of the bushland and city in the distance. You can also view the falls from the bottom and climb up the rocks to get close and personal! At the top close to the lookout there are toilets.

Many trails to follow. Dogs on leash allowed. Ideal place to hike on a good day. Not too far from the city. No issue with parking (car park and road side). Good to take your own food and drinks. Beautiful views of the falls and the city.

A place that can be handle well for a beginner level hiker like me - might be a little boring for those high level as less challenging! We start about 11am and finished in an hour about, didn't finish the whole trail as getting hot and a lot flies there ~ we dare not keep open our mouth and talk 😅 (P was keep swiging his hand while walking 😆)
🔅 Thanks to P for fulfilled my wishlist 🙌🙏

Awesome place for a walk. Take sturdy shoes, hat and water .
Not much water flowing but still beautiful.
Burns offs made view to city smoky.
Very different to when I hiked in September with the water flowing majestically and the bush bursting with wild flowers.
Trails this time quite overgrown in some parts.
Angela Bowater — Google review
Try to visit this place after rain to see the real beauty of the Lesmurdie waterfalls. The water falls are seen at their best when the discharge is great just after heavy rain. It is also a nice place for hiking and experiencing the natural beauty of the hills.

Beautiful place for a hike, family picnic. Has a few nice picnic benches to sit and eat and enjoy the view, but no public barbecue around to cook, so carry your food stuff. Public toilets available, but no drinking water. Walking ramp from car park for wheelchair access. There are railings to hold at difficult steep spots to make the hike easier even for slightly older generation and younger kids. Different trail options available. The easiest hike option is less than 700metres and not difficult at all. Ample parking spots as well.

Stunning place to visit. We went sun arvo in Sept.
Limited car parking & signs saying fines for parking on verges.
Limited picnic tables
There were toilets the smell hit you way before you got too close so didn’t venture further! (This was all at the top car park)
The tracks to the main lookout are fairly easy, anything else and you definitely need good walking shoes. Was a mild spring day, definitely need water, sunscreen and hat.
We hiked to the shoulder, to avoid some of the crowds, but think we missed the main path and headed straight down. Was lovely and cool at the bottom. There is another car park at the bottom.
Plenty of water flowing, but have also been in summer when that isn’t the case.
Really enjoyed my day, but was quite busy. Taking the route we did there wasn’t too many people until you got to the main lookouts then it was really busy. But oh the views!!!

We hiked on Saturday morning from 9.30am onwards - was very cloudy and looked like it was going to rain. But an hour later the sun came out and it was sunny as!
First time here - waterfall was beautiful! Trails easy to walk. Except if you want to climb closer to the foot of the falls (the rocks are quite steep).
Great exercise for me and my friend. Beautiful wildflowers were an added bonus! Will definitely come back again!

Absolutely great place to short hiking & enjoy the view. You can see Perth downtown from far away. The hiking trails is medium difficulty so make sure wearing your shoes. The falls is beautiful & such a rare scene. You can walk down around 15 minutes (slow walk) until the bottom of the falls. Always full at weekend, so recommend come at workdays for more nature scenery

I always love coming out here with my partner. It's a beautiful view of the city and surrounding suburbs. You also see planes flying around Perth and when the sky is clear at night you can see the stars and moon. Out only issue is parking. The place is so popular that it can be hard to get a park. Lots of trails to walk and public restroom available to use. Seating for breaks and picnics are also spotted around the walking paths and there are platforms you can walk to, to check out the view. Always open as there is no closure of the area. Recommend.

It’s always a pleasure come here for hiking, spending some time away from the chaos of the city, listening to the nature elements, watching the flow of the water in the small streams and observe the waterfalls, encounter birds, insects, see the blossoms of plants and flowers. You have different tracking levels sorted by difficult and lengths. Awesome place to exercise your muscles as well as your dog’s one. There are bathrooms and picnic tables or flat area for picnic.

Family hiking and loved it. Not too crowded, and superb views await at the top of the pink trail... We did the purple and pink trails. Waterfalls flowing beautifully and not dried out. Terrain is a bit wet being Autumn, so be wary of where you put your feet as it's slippery. Otherwise, a very nice walk.

Lesmurdie Falls offers fantastic views of Perth City as well as boasting fantastic falls with 2 viewing platforms above the water alongside a third on the ground at the foot of the falls.
There is also some fantastic picnic spots close to the falls.
Zoo & animal sanctuary offering hands-on encounters with its residents.
This place has lots of different Australian wildlife but mostly birds in aviaries. A great place for young kids with some areas to pet and feed the animals. This is the first place I've seen a wombat as they are never seen at Perth zoo. The zoo is well maintained and kept quite clean too.

We had a great day here, friendly staff and friendly animals.
It's not a fancy place if that's what your looking for buts it's got a fantastic selection of birds, animals, insects, etc for the price it's worth it. Got to hold a snake and a lizard at no extra charge. The animal handler was so lovely and full of information. Our favourite was the walk through kookaburras enclosure, what beautiful birds they are.
Finished with an icecream and buying a soft toy from the huge selection in store again at a good price. Of course it was a kookaburra 🥰 make sure you go when it's not to sunny so the animals are out, thanks for a great day.

We had a wonderful time here on boxing day. It was very hot but we were well prepared for the heat and were offered an icy treat whilst we walked through. I would like to especially mention Lily who was so attentive to us when we walked in and was so patient with the 3 children we had, she let each of us hold a snake and then also brought out a lizard. She was so lovely and kind and really gave the children a great experience before we had even entered the animals. We did a walk through and fed some animals the goats especially were a hoot.

The male black cockatoo in the bird aviary was very tame and friendly. He flew over and landed on my sons shoulder and stayed there for ages. My son loved it, was a great experience. We also did the birds of the night encounter and we got to hand feed the owls and get close up photos with them. They also had a employee with a snake and a lizard that you can pet and hold. The only thing that would improve the experience is if they had more food available so you can have lunch there. At the moment they have icecream and chips and softdrink. A coffee machine would be great. They have free coffee but I found the unhomoginised milk didn't mix well. Will definitely go back again.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful afternoon at this local zoo.
Great variety of Australian animals from Tasmanian Devils to colourful birds. Lots of hands on experiences.
The best part for us was the walk through bird aviary where the inhabitants were very friendly and chatty.
This would especially be a great place if you have visitors from overseas!

Great range of birds, love the access too the petting zoo animals goats, babies, even a deer and a camel. Our toddler loved the kangaroo pen, the rangers will get out a python you can hold. Over all it’s a nice family experience.

The conservation park is such a good experience overall, it is a wonderful place to spend time, whether it's for a day out with family, a peaceful picnic, or simply to immerse oneself in nature's beauty and sounds. The park also has lots of spots to sit and take in the wildlife at your own pace. The park is nice and cosy with open spaces for many free roaming animals like the kangaroos, wallabies, peacock and a variety of birds. Make sure to catch some of the keeper talks they were a really interesting insight into the animals natural history. This centre serves to protect endangered and vulnerable species and promote education and awareness. We went on a hot day, but there is a good deal of shade, so we did not let that deter us from exploring the whole park. Ranger Red is a larger than life naturalist was great talking to him,

Better experience than any zoo I've been to. For such an underspoken zoo, it's extremely dense with a lot to do. We spent too much time in the walk in aviary alone, the birds are very very friendly and chipper.
We spent time here not due to a big and expensive park, but just because there is that much to do. Not to underplay the lack of other facilities; the bathroom and catering is lacking, but the zoo itself is great.

Visited with my son during the New Years and Christmas break.
It was a really great experience being able to see alot of Australian native animals, especially for the price.
The owner and staff are really really lovely, you can tell they have a real passion for their work place.
They even provide a map and feeding food for certain animals that are outlined on the map!
Im definitely going to visit it again in the future :)

We had so much fun on a family outing here! Great variety of animals, birds, and reptiles, but what made the day amazing was talking to the zookeepers and learning about the animals and their care. Everyone was so informative and passionate about the animals!
We booked the koala experience and I was interested in the wombat experience too but learned the wombat booking is only available to book the day before and happens first thing in the morning! Highly recommend, so memorable and fun.

Highly recommend for toddlers and young kids! The animal encounters were amazing! Highlights were feeding the birds 🐦🕊️ and holding the snake 🐍..very cool! Kangaroos 🦘 were actually eating food too and active for once! Super friendly staff 🙂 easy to get around, not too much walking and all the enclosures are close by, not spread out too much.
Pathways are a bit narrow so beach wagons are a bit tricky to manuver. No onsite cafe (just icecream and drinks fridge).

What an awesome zoo. Very natural and all the animals looked well looked after. Great price and great family experience.
The national park is a forested area with waterfalls, wildlife, and walking trails.
Looking for a true outback experience? walk or bike in the footsteps of railway history on this enchanting trail. Holes remain in the rocks from the dynamite blasts of days long past and you're sure to encounter a Kangaroo on this rich red earth Australian disused railway line!

We love taking our young sons here to explore, hike and play. You typically need to pay an entrance fee as it is a National Park, though you can pay for annual entrance fee. There is ample car parking, though it can get super packed! Toilet block, picnic benches and lots of areas to set up for a lunch. The trails are generally well sign posted. A great spot not too far out of Perth.

Its a well maintain forest. I like the trails. Love the view and the the story of the place as well. My suggestion is prepare water bottle as you go trail, especially on the hot summer like now. They do have a great picnic area.

A lovely national park with relics from its history preserved alongside new amenities.
Friendly kangaroos that frequent the tavern are a tourist drawcard, but the tavern will be bulldozed soon, to make way for more carpark and a Cafe, I believe.
A Park Pass entry fee is paid per car on entry to the park ($15).
Good walking trails. Public toilets. Plenty of wildlife.
Well worth a visit and an awesome place to take overseas and interstate visitors.

Wow! 😍 My first time here with my family and we loved it! Beautiful scenery and views and the area is massive! We are definitely planning to go back to see more of this place, we only covered around 6kms and I couldn't tell you which trail we did 😅

Great little walk and specifically for the Tunnel. It's an interesting part of WA history that more people should know about. But it's cool how most things built in the late 1800s were linked, from Fremantle to the Perth Mint to this Tunnel, they all played a part in the bigger scheme that was Western Australia at the time.
Go on, go check it out

Great national park full of lovely views, nature and points of historical interest. Some nice spots to have a picnic and BBQ as well, although there are large areas of the park in the natural state with few or no amenities.
Make sure you plan your visit as some of the best spots are only accessible by foot/bike and take a while to get to.

Lovely open space for everyone but pets!
Big space for a stroll, running and surprisingly, even bouldering!
Good for people of all ages.

A beautiful location around 30 mins from Perth providing bbq / picnic facilities, toilets and plenty of parking but be warned, it's $15 entry per car. Make a day if it and get your entry fees worth.
Walking trails of various lengths with waterfalls nearby. Dont forget a hat and sunscreen.
I wouldn't recommend going during rain or extreme heat. Spring and autumn is a great time.
An excellent spot to to spend a few hours. Good selection of animals that are easy to see. With friendly knowledgeable staff.
Lots more than just reptiles.

I've taken the kids a couple of times and they absolutely love it! It has a relaxed vibe which allows the kids to move around at their own pace and see everything without fuss.
They have a great range of reptiles as well as a couple of horses, donkeys, plenty of birds, kangaroos and emus. Twice a day they bring out a couple of snakes and lizards for the kids to hold.

Very friendly employees/ volunteers. They are so passionate about the animals they are taking care of.
We have visited there many times . The aviary and snakes( for those who love snakes) are the best attraction there.
If you don’t want to spend a full day in a zoo with kids , this is a much better alternative for those who have small kids to spend 1-2 hours seeing animals.
They also have live interactive session daily at 11am , 12:30 pm and 2 pm with a snake and skunk. You can touch and feel them and talk and know all about those animals from them.
Overall it’s a good short trip view for few hours.

Reptiles samples are there but ...No...would not recommend it to anyone.

After visiting Discover Deadly in Dunsborough and learning that many of the animals came from Armadale Reptile & Wildlife Centre, I was keen to return here after many years. We arrived in time to handle one of the snakes (and also a bobtail, which was thrilling). The staff member was kind enough to take us around as he fed the snakes, though he didn't know any of their names or seem very close to any of them. We learned a lot of cool things, but the visit was soured when he joyfully encouraged us to visit the birds because one of them loved women and would be all over my wife and I.
We found Rori the Corella to be very charming, but when I tried to move him he bit me very hard. I went to call for a first aid kit, and the staff member at reception tried to push past me to see which bird was being a nuisance. When I interrupted her, she did not seem particularly concerned that I was dripping blood. She told me to go wash my hands, and when I requested some tissues to avoid leaving a trail across the floor she paused and mused that that would be a good idea, and had to think about whether she had any. When I had washed my bleeding hands to the best of my ability (while my wife cleaned the blood off the sink and taps), I wasn't able to stop the bleeding with pressure but waited at reception while the staff member kept writing what looked like a receipt for several more seconds. Eventually she finished, took two bandaids out, and then declined to put on gloves or wash her hands before or after applying them. (She told me it was because she was "old school".) She then lectured me on the safer ways to handle a bird, and chided me for offering my fingers to him which were like "red flags to a bull". I left feeling told off and hurting. It's been a month now, and despite my careful first aid the scar tissue is still very dense and painful, and because it's on the joint of my finger I touch it every day.
I don't want to be unkind, but I wish that the initial staff member had told us that while Rory was charming, he might bite if we tried to remove him. I wish we'd been taught how to handle him safely. I wish that when I called out for the first aid kit, I wish there had been an effective and immediate first aid response following safer healthcare protocols. And I wish I had been validated instead of told off for what had happened.
I loved the animals there, but I won't be returning.

This Perth-based park is home to more than 100 koalas and is great place to see them in their natural habitat. In addition, the park also houses talking parrots.
Loved it! Great place to walk around and feed Australian animals! As soon as we got there we saw young emus being fed. We were followed around by peacocks that wanted to be fed and they took the food right out of our hands. None of the animals were overbearing, they mostly let you come to them. All in all a wonderful day out.

Wonderful place with peacocks, emus and birds roaming freely as we walk. Co-existence is something we all can learn here. We all can coexist in the wonderful world without harming each other with peace and harmony. It's a wonderful park with varied species and is a treat for kids and elders both. There is a mini train which takes you around and it's a fun ride not to be missed. Besides Koala, you can see kangaroos, deer and many other species.

Positives
Can see animals really close up
Animals appear to be looked after
Constructive feedback
It would be nice to have a larger fenced off area to eat lunch or have a break. We attended the park on a Saturday and the small area with tables and chairs was full
More shade would be good
Food pellets for the animals would be beneficial rather than popcorn
Much much larger areas for the birds - it was sad to see them unable to fly at all
Negatives
There was unfortunately a dead animal in one of the rear fenced off shelters, some type of large bird
As the animals roam free there is a lot of poop around - recommend wearing appropriate foot wear!

Relatively small park. Some good animals there though some areas of improvement needed, such as the cocktail Aviaries.
$15 per adult. Took us a while to be served and we could have walked through without paying.
Some 🦕 models/statues not meant to be climbed on and some unfenced water, so child supervision is definitely required, but interesting to look at.
Animals are relatively friendly, do not go if you don't like Emus or Peacocks around you.
Engaging for an hour-ish depending on your group.

Please don’t support business that think is acceptable to keep birds forever in cages like this. The material that this cages are made are poor and old, this gets extremely hot!! Like very hot! And the birds can’t go anywhere else. Also, the birds don’t have any room to a little bit of fly. It is heartbreaking.
They have been living in this conditions for over 3 years. Just seating in the hot all day.
Surely a “Wild Park” would have a little bit of money to buy decent cages made by appropriate metal and with physical enrichment? Looks like they just don’t care.

Can be a nice day out for kids, couples and families. $4 for a small pack of animals feed popcorn is a bit expensive, but it goes to maintain the park, so all good.
You get to see koalas, kangaroos, emus, Wombat, Echidnas, crocodiles, Ponies & more.
You probably need to hold tight to kids as emus all over the place moving freely, but they are definitely friendly and not aggressive.
Place looks like it needs more funding for maintenance and upgrading. Hopefully comes from state government and people also continue to visit. It deserves to stay on.
All in all, I liked it.

Had a day out at Cohuna Wildlife Park with my 2 year old grandson. We went on a week day before the school holidays started, so it was fairly quiet, which I was happy for. My grandson loves all animals but finds dinosaurs interesting at the moment.
The dinosaur statues they have in the park are great displays for some of the younger children.
The Wallaby and Kangaroo enclosure is nice to walk through. The park has two crocodiles, which like to laze by the pool in their enclosure. The park also has roaming Emus, which are friendly enough. If you plan on staying for most of the day, make sure you bring your own food.

Took my elderly client here we were both very disappointed the park was dirty, lots of empty enclosures. enclosures were dirty, Cockatoos were in small cages. The lady at the front desk was too busy gas bagging out the back to even worry about us we rang the bell 5 times. Didn't give us any information about the place when we walked in. Only gave 2 star because koalas were the only good thing there.

The Serpentine National Park is home to the beautiful Serpentine Falls, a popular spot for swimming and picnicking. The falls are located just under an hours drive south of Perth. The park also includes ancient forest and wetland, as well as Western Grey Kangaroos and stunning wildflowers in spring.
The Most wonderful spot for picnic and fresh water swimming. Be mindful of other people and strictly no diving and climbing on the rock.
Safe for all swimmers if you take safety precautions and be careful.
Plenty of walking trials for novice and experienced hikers. It’s a favorite place for family picnic and hiking.
There is entrance fee for adults and closure and non permit if the spot is full. So drive early to make sure you get the chance to experience this stunning natural wonder.

We paid $17 for entrance. It’s $17 per a vehicle. We were met by a friendly lady that explained where we could park and how long the walks took. This is a lovely day out for everyone. There is something for everyone. Prams and wheelchairs are able to get to the falls via a paved footpath. There were a number of people in wheelchairs having picnics on the grass area. There are several other walks, I would not recommend doing these with young/small children. The ground was very slippery due to loose gravel and rocks. Unfortunately a number of little ones fell over. I strongly recommend packing a picnic and enjoying it here. I didn’t and we really wished we had. Take plenty of water. Will definitely do this again.

Inside Serpentine Falls Nation Park, about an hours drive south of Perth, Serpentine Falls are one of West Australia's many Falls and well worth a visit to take on the unique beauty of the bushland they are located within. Just a short walk from the near by car park these falls can be viewed from a lower viewing area or you can take the longer walk along the path and trail up to the top and taking views for high up. If you do decide to walk the trail make sure you are wearing good walking shoes and be prepared to walk up hill. I'd also strongly advise you to have water with you too. I feel the walk is definitely worth the views. Go early and take you time, stop and rest at the top to enjoy the scenery.

The falls and swimming area do look amazing. However on the day we went there was no swimming allowed, this is due to the amoeba meningitis in the water when it gets over a certain temperature. Also the frustrating thing is we still felt we had to pay $17 for entry, when swimming isn’t available I don’t feel there is much else to see in the park, especially when it’s so hot, so wish we hadn’t made the journey from Perth and wasted our $17.

Awesome place day and night! Interesting museum and shop. We were lucky to be part of a group who camped overnight. Nice walk through area during the day observing the wildflowers and reading the information signs outside the various buildings. At night there is a golf buggy to drive you up to the various observatories. We opted to walk. We got a chance to see Saturn, the moon and various star clusters. It was a full moon which was great but difficult to see some stars as the moon was too bright. The volunteers were very knowledgeable. Afterwards we had a BBQ, great music and sat around a camp fire. Great experience! 👍👍👍

Really amazing experience.. Look out for the Emu in the sky!
Unfortunately I don't have more pictures.. Would have loved to take some at the domes, but it was dark (can't see stars if it isn't dark!) and the phone light would kill my night vision 😅

Such an amazing place! I’m embarrassed to say I should’ve visited here ages ago. The night star-display was so much fun; learned heaps about the constellations & planets too.
Def fun for a night out as a birthday/ catch-up group or for the whole family ✨🌙🪐
The Mundaring Weir, constructed in the early 20th century, offers visitors a chance to explore a dam with multiple amenities such as picnic shelters, BBQ grills, and playgrounds. Additionally, interpretive exhibits provide insight into its history. The surrounding area boasts numerous short walking trails and is also the starting point of Australia's famed Bibbulmun Track which stretches all the way to Albany on the south coast.
A project once made fun of now stands as one of the most important places in WA history. When Nature's beauty and man's creativity gets merged, wonders get created .Such a wonder was built between 1898-1903 for the purpose of transporting water to the Easter Goldfields of Kalgoorile.
The dam is now under the Water Corporation of WA and their website provides information about the dam details such as facilities,Opening hours , direction etc.
https://www.watercorporation.com.au/About-us/Visiting-our-dams/Mundaring-Weir
The No1 Pump Station is a great place to learn about the incredible early engineering technology that they had used to pump water nearly 600km from Mundaring Weir to the Goldfields.
This place is really a must see and one of the beautiful places to know more about heritage, to take wonderful pictures of scenery and even spend time with family or friend groups.
https://youtu.be/c3O16ZOH0Eg
The place have picnic areas, public toilets and walking trails.
This project once called as "Scheme Of Madness" was designed by Thomas Crowley Hodgson and was brought to life by an Engineer in Chief C.Y.O'Connor.
At present day the weir supplies water to the Eastern Goldfields and Agricultural region. The walking trail experience throug the Weir , lawns and gardens are really a great experience to get to the historical importance of this place.
The Mundaring Weir now forms a part of the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme or The Golden Pipeline.

DOGS ARE PROHIBITED 🚫
Perhaps it should read:
DOGS ARE PROHIBITED
$200 ON THE SPOT FINE.
We would have loved to walk our fur-baby here, but because of the warning sign, my husband sat in the park while I walked across the weir and to other scenic spots.
Sadly, I had to caution a few dog owners who didn’t notice the sign(sic). Perhaps add a $200 fine on the spot and people will notice?
There are several areas you can walk your dogs on leash in the area, not far away. I pointed it out to a lady and she was thankful.
If you walk your dog from the other end of the weir, where there isn’t a warning sign, you could get away with it, because you can access the bridge and get to the main entrance.
Place the same signboards where you are seriously concerned about, dear Shire.
Are you serious about it or not, dear Shire?
Trim the branches over the sign board at the main entrance which is actually blocking part of it.
It's supposedly a high surveillance designation, but apparently dogs being walked across the weir where our drinking water comes from, has gone unnoticed.

The Mundaring dam is a top local attraction and just 15 minutes from the Mundaring town site. There are panoramic photo opportunities during a crossing of the dam wall. On one side is the picturesque reservoir and on the other the heritage pumping station with its tall chimney stack. A less explored area can be discovered at the far end of the dam wall (coming from Mundaring Weir Road). A steepish descent, down a series of steps (with handrail) to the base of the dam wall, leads visitors to the pumping station (100m). A tranquil place surrounds the museum with a few rest benches under some shady trees. There is also an interesting electronic meter that turns over / counts - every time 1000 litres of dam water is used in Kalgoorlie (located nearby the pumping station museum).
The Mundaring Weir park area is extensive and perfect for BBQ's with a number of designated areas complete with stove tops. There is an abundance of majestic trees (many varieties). A natural habitat for birdlife and the perfect place for a relaxing stroll. A few friendly kangaroos are always out and about.

A wonderful place to visit on the Perth Hills, having the state’s one of the most important engineering structures, access to the weir overseeing the idyllic C Y O’ Connor lake, plenty of walk trails and benches through the greenery of wild flowers and trees. Large number of gas top barbecue facilities along with separate toilets for male, female, disabled on both sides (west and east) of the weir. Several water fountains nicely positioned, offering quick rehydration and a splash on the face on a hot day. We were lucky enough to have been greeted by a family of kangaroos in the bush to the east of the rose garden. The viewing area to the south of the C Y O’Connor Memorial offers a splendid view of the both sides of the weir. One caution; be aware of mosquitoes and flies in the afternoon.

A quite and nice place for picnic and walk with family.
Lake Leschenaultia is a former railway reservoir transformed into a stunning recreational lake, offering a range of activities for visitors. Surrounded by national parks and state forests, including the historic John Forrest National Park, it's an ideal spot for nature lovers. Families can enjoy picnics by the tranquil lake and take advantage of excellent amenities. The crystal-clear waters provide a serene setting for swimming and kayaking, with kayak rentals available for those seeking adventure on the water.
One of Perth's gems for a great day out. Well maintained and shady picnic areas near the lake are a delight.

We had the most wonderful time camping with friends. Lake Leschenaultia. It is so convenient when going from Perth for a quick weekend away if you do not want to travel too far. Once you are there it will feel like you are miles from anywhere. We all just felt the relaxation pour over us.

This location was an incredible experience for both our family and friends. We enjoyed an entire day immersed in activities. This is an ideal spot for camping. The kids had a blast swimming, and the highlight was renting a kayak. 30-minute or 1-hour sessions priced at $16 and $26 respectively. Needless to say, we're looking forward to making this a frequent destination.

Lovely place for a family day out. Pack a picnic or usethe BBQ provided there ( do get busy so may have to wait your turn) dedicated swim area in the fresh water lake but has sand like a beach to enter. Playground is there but the old cafe isn't open anymore so make sure you take own food and drinks. Limited seating is there so go early or take chairs ect.

Our family recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Lake Leschenaultia, and we can't stop raving about this hidden gem in WA. From the tranquil lake to the excellent amenities, Lake Leschenaultia proved to be a fantastic destination for a family outing.
The star of the show was undoubtedly Lake Leschenaultia itself. The crystal-clear waters created a serene ambiance, and we spent quality time swimming and enjoying the breathtaking natural surroundings. The lake's family-friendly atmosphere made it an ideal spot for both relaxation and recreation.
The camping facilities at Lake Leschenaultia were top-notch. The spacious and well-maintained camping areas provided a comfortable retreat, and we were impressed by the cleanliness of the amenities. The proximity to facilities such as toilets and showers added to the overall convenience of our camping experience.
Parking at Lake Leschenaultia was hassle-free and well-organized. The ample parking space made it easy for us to unload our belongings and set up for the day. It's evident that the organizers have taken care to ensure that visitors have a seamless experience from the moment they arrive.
The bathing facilities by the lake were a welcome addition. Clean and well-maintained, these facilities enhanced our overall comfort during our visit. The thoughtful amenities underscored the dedication of the management to providing visitors with a positive and enjoyable experience.
In summary, Lake Leschenaultia is a true gem in WA 6556, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and excellent amenities. Whether you're seeking a relaxing day by the lake or a camping adventure, Lake Leschenaultia has it all. Our family had an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend Lake Leschenaultia to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway. We can't wait to return to this little slice of paradise!

Come for a bbq, swim in the dam, kayaking, walking/hiking and mountain biking. There is plenty of space for the whole family to come down for a bbq and pretty alright public toilet.
We came for the mountain biking this time. You can ride around the driving as an introduction to riding and the head over to the actual trails. They are green and blue tracks that are all pretty fun. Make sure to ride to your ability.

So happy to have visited this are and the Dam a few Kms away from here. We Picnicked at the Dam and were very happy to visit this area with its railway museum. The staff in the little stores and station were most helpful. The toilet area here was kept clean. A plus point for an electric vehicle owner is there is one charging point. We hadn't found any emu's, kangaroos, long neck tortoise or koalas so we improvised at the Dam picnic area. (See my picture)

I am riding the Munda Biddi and posted my food here. Was calling to find out about accommodation and it turns out the place had a fire next door so closed at 1 but Kellie was happy to return to give me my parcel and even sold me a gas canister for which she had to open the till. She had also sent me a text message of accommodation options. When I left the centre she let me out of the closest door to point out the hotel and held the tapes up for me to get under. Hard to find better service than that A+

Wasn't overly exciting experience. Caught Forrest Train. My 5 year old son was excited for first 20min. It was a 2 hour ride through bush with a 20min stop for a bush walk. One of the most underwhelming experiences I have ever had. And the diesel fumes had a few watery eyes and a few noses being covered. Was told to go back when fire ban was over and ride the steam train because much better.
Mick Inferrera — Google review
I wouldn't recommend this.
OK let's start from the beginning.
The seats are quite small and uncomfortable, and because they pack the trains you'll be pretty squashed in.
They could do with some cushions or something because you'll feel every single bump.
It's a diesel train.....
It's not environmentally friendly and it smokes.... A lot.
You'll be breathing fumes the entire trip.
There were quite a few nauseus people on the train, including myself.
I really hope they get an electric version at some point.
Or at least sort out the exhaust system.
We did the Forest Train with the walk at the end,
The walk at the end is very rushed, so you don't actually have time to enjoy it.
They could do with putting some tables and chairs in this spot too for the elderly,
It's pet friendly which is nice, but because the train gets packed your pooch won't have a lot of room, our dog was also not feeling great with the fumes. Poor bugger.
If I was a tourist I'd probably do it to say I've done it, but I wouldn't recommend this to any locals.
Maybe in spring when the wildflowers are out? But the rest of the year there isn't much to see.
Tin Ship (Tinny) — Google review
A great experience for kids and the whole family. Tickets for the train ride can be purchased online or on the day itself before departure. Cafe is available. The whole place is spacious, perfect for kids to run around.

Lovely old timey feel, amazing views, and generally a lovely trip. However, allocated seating would have been better for the 40 dollars per person admission, I felt like we were shoved on a poverty bus and left to find our own seats. I went for the visit on my birthday and would have liked to sit with my husband instead, were rows apart.

We had a great time on the steam train. I thought my children would get bored being on the train for 2 hours, but they loved just staring out the window and waving to people we passed by.

Great Train trip, just over a 90min from Perth. Really worth the 2 hours return trip.
Matt Pasini — Google review
Wonderful experience and great service, enjoyed the ride with family and kids. You can bring your pets (on leash). There is optional hiking for about 20 mins so consider dressing like that if you want to do that adventure. Every time you hear train horn that means something and you better look a round to see.
The only negative I would mention was poor public adress system as the one in train doesn't work and the driver was holding a handheld microphonic speaker which wasn't enough to hear.

It was a 2hours ride with an amazing view of the landscape. The steam train departs and arrive to the station on time. The staff are super friendly and they reassure the passengers that everything is going to be okay. There is a snack shop on board the train where you can get chips, beer and some beverages on board. Very beautiful experience and this is our 2nd time here. Its amazing.

It was very stressful as it took a long time to board, it was also very crowded in the train itself. I was not able to sit with my family so all the fun was not pleasant. The seats were also small and very uncomfortable. It was very loud and also had an unpleasant squeaking sound!
Such a great experience!! Highly recommended if you're in the area or are passing through.
The Team were very friendly and informative.
The course is well laid out and the views are stunning!
We skipped the green course and completed the blue and red before venturing onto the extreme black! That one was challenging but a lot of fun.
It was absolutely pouring rain when we did this and still had a lot of fun so don't let the weather put you off.
Would definitely visit again and hopefully soon!

We had our 3 and 6 year old for their junior challenge. The obstacles are set realistically for my children and both had great fun that day. For a price you can stay for 2 hours and unlimited times of attempt.
The staff that assisted with us is absolutely friendly and amazing, putting the harness on my 3 year old were a little anxious but he was very good to interact with my boys and make them feel very comfortable.
We will return with adults next time as we challenge ourselves with the adult obstacles.
The only lost of star is early in the morning the toilet stinks with urine around the bowl and no toilet roll. Otherwise it was rather perfect!
Jacinta Ling (Jmom) — Google review
This was our first time at any tree top climb and we were unsure what to expect.
But the whole experience was fantastic, the climbing had great variation of challenges from fun to extreme and pushing the limits
We had two kids that both did varying levels of difficulty.
The set up meant that we didn’t need to worry about when the eldest when he took off once confident with the harness system, as you can not be exposed to a fall.
Our 13yr was old completed the extreme course, being 13 gave the advantage as it was far more difficult than it looked.
All of Staff were super friendly, and were always around if anyone needed assistance.
The whole set up was far more scenic than expected, the courses left the bush in a natural state, so gave a true bush experience
I have convinced my kids to do this again, as I didn’t get to do all the climbs, mainly because we did some twice as were fun
Highly recommended experience for the family.
The photos do not do the course justice or really show the height, but give some idea

The training is comprehensive and useful. My kids loved their experience at Treetops Adventure Dwellingup! It was challenging and fun for all of us, and my first time doing this. The location and crew are great! So are the different tracks. Not enough time, managed only 2 tracks, 2.5 hours, because of supervising the younger kids. Family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids 21, 11 and 5. Price is a bit high, 270 AUD...

Such a good experience for adults and kids. Only two of us, in our 30s and had heaps of fun! Red to black routes are the most challangeing and the ultimate black was genuinely hard and a good challange. Monkey bars 20m up!
The routes, infrastructure, obstacles, equipment and staff were all 5 star...everything was top notch and felt super safe. Instructors did an excellent job at clearly communicating eveything and making you feel welcome. Sorry I have forgot the names but 08th April 2022 11am you know who you are.
Ohh it's hard to plan this but if you are behind 5 kids on a red run it may take a while waiting so try plan your time and routes if you can.
Some pointers. You can't take anything up with you for health and safety like phones etc as they would be a distraction or drop hazard, on-site lockers are provided to store valuables. No food on site. Get there at minimum 15min early. We had plenty of time to do 4-5 routes. You do need some strength to complete the courses, it can be hard work!
I don't write heaps of reviews but this place was 5 star.

Friendly staff and attentive to make sure we know how to maneuver around.
Done with 11yo boy and 13 yo girl, we gone through the basic green and blue track, and also also a blue track filled with almost 7-8 ziplines. Making one feel like being a tarzan.
Seeing time almost up so wanted to try the Black track but staff recommended me to go with the red since it was my first time. Red was kind of tricky as compared to previous 2 colours, lucky i did not choose the black.
Overall experience was great, first of a kind for me.

Well worth the journey, the kids had a great time on the junior course. It was a real confidence boost as they got to grips with the different elements and by the third go around, could manage it all themselves (ages 5 & 6).
Update: 6 years later the kids are 11 & 12, had a brilliant time, managed their first red course and we all loved the blue run that was zip line after zip line. Even on a warm day (32) it was nice and cool in the trees, shady with a light breeze. The staff were very friendly again, genuinely nice, helped the kids relax. The 2.5 hours went so quick, was glad we brought some sandwiches. Was thinking about camping here there's some nice looking sites next to here. But even with the 1.5 hour drive from Perth and back, we thought it was well worth it.

Had a wonderful time with my 8 year old daughter. Unfortunately it was a very hot day so we did not stay as long as anticipated but the staff were wonderful by allowing us extended breaks (and therefore extended time on our booking if we needed it). Our trainer was Shaun and he was very welcoming and clear in his instructions, providing us with all the safety details and skills we needed to have a safe and fulfilling experience. The courses themselves are fun and challenging; it is clear safety is a top priority ensuring we were anchored to a rope at all times. We will definitely be back when it is much cooler to finish off the courses we didn't get around to. Highly recommend this experience.

Amazing experience! The lady who ran it was fantastic... she was so informative, so passionate and answered all my questions. Meeting the animals was so so fun, the bilbies jumping after us were a highlight! I would recommend this experience whole heartedly to anyone visiting the area!
The only problem for us was the children on the tour being so loud and disruptive, meaning we couldn't hear the presentation at the beginning and worse, they scared off the animals ☹️ The lady running the tour did a fantastic job of 'parenting' the children kindly but firmly whilst the parents did nothing, even when a child threw a stick at an animal! Please don't bring your children unless they are polite, respectful of nature and can be quiet!

If you have young children & on the night they're not happy, please don't bring them. The cries are enough to scare or keep the animals away. Thankfully we were in different group but sorry for those who weren't.

Sensational experience. A splendid chance to see the native australian noctural marsupials feeding which is otherwise almost impossible to see. They have two large enclosed areas that are filled with a variety of marsupials which are fed during the nocturnal tour. It is a very nice sight to watch them feed and hop around. You will be very close to the animals and they will be observed under torch light. Not good for infants as staying quiet during the tour is essential. A good weekend tour from Perth

Excellent experience. Learnt so much and was amazing to see Malas, Woylies, Boodies, Quendas and a Bilby in real life! A really fun night and well worth it!
Quick stopover on our way to the airport in Perth. Very lovely place to take a break. They make fantastic food! We had the American burger and the Thai salad. Both surprisingly good and of great quality.
Very spacious grounds to take your break and relax. Great and quick service overall. Loved it here.

We stopped here on the way to Albany and on the way back, along with many others getting away during the Christmas holidays. Despite being so busy the food was delivered quickly and they also have an online menu so you can order without having to line up. We ordered a burger, a regular sandwich, fish and a brisket reuben sandwich - the burger, sandwich and fish were all nice but the brisket Reuben was a bit dry. I’m sure the kitchen staff had their work cut out for them over this busy period though! There are nice facilities, including a lawn and sand pit for the kids, so it’s a great place to stop for lunch.

A welcome stop on the route between Perth and the South Coast. Large location with restaurant/cafe and shops selling local and other handicraft. Kids burgers were very ordinary. Ruben was fantastic, so too the breakfast wrap. Was crowded and warm inside (late December). Service friendly but somewhat slow. Somewhat expensive (though generally good portion sizes).

Very enjoyable lunch and next time I will tap and order my meal! The Thai Beef Salad was delicious and filling. They have vegetarian option like vegetarian burgers and a vegetable slice. Good service and friendly, helpful staff.

We made a stop for lunch at this place on our drive back to Perth. I was informed the pies here are really good and was looking forward to tasting them. Since it was a national holiday, the place was already full with hungry customers when we pulled in. We queue to place our order and the food arrived not long after that. We can see that the number of pies in the display counter were diminishing rapidly and wondered if we will get to sample any. We ordered the chicken and leek pie and I quite like it. I also had the classic BLT sandwich and find the bacon was generously provided. There are a lot of other shops here as well such as a clothing store, a shoe store and a shop selling souvenirs. Customers can also choose to sit outside and there is a children's playpen as well.

We enjoyed the pies and sausage rolls from the ww cafe. Their service is quick. Have lots of seating area and clean toilets. A few shops to look around in the building and I'm glad we stopped by this place to stretch our legs.

Absolutely amazing place, with friendly service, great atmosphere, good quality cost efficient food + coffee. The cafe also caters to EV users with 3 x 250kw TESLA Superchargers that are all CCS1 type chargers but can be easily accessed with a subscription if you download the Tesla app! Bring your adapters for the highest charging speeds you’ll get in the area!

Food was decent and ambience was good for a rest stop (for us). A positive experience overall.

This is a coffee shop with many things and surprisingly they roasted coffee beans right in their store.
There are many’s choices on the menu and specials . We bought one bag of beans and a cup of flat white.
The coffee is good and they have special coffee menus quite interesting.
Highly recommended this coffee!

The area is very well cleaned and maintained, the America and BLT sandwiches are delicious, the downfall was the chips, the taste and texture was not nice but was hot on arrival. The venue itself was quite warm at the time of the visit, there was no air being circulated or air-conditioning. The ice coffee looked amazing and the dishes handed out were well presented and the staff were friendly at the tills and service when receiving the food.

Stopped in for a coffee while driving to Perth. Big place with lots of little shops inside. They were closing when we got there so didn’t get to see the full selection of things. Overall seems like a nice place to stop. They have a drive thru for coffee which is nice and a little play area in the back so you can let the kids play for a bit while the parent take a break.
Straightforward dorms & cottages on a wilderness property offering kitchens, living areas & porches.
Hosts took us for a visit to options, which would be great for a private getaway or large group accommodation with commercial kitchen usage. Looks fantastic and we will return for tour option

Great location with so much wildlife to see on the plenty of well built and looked after walk trails in the surrounding area.
We stayed in the Mallee Hen cottage which was perfect for two. Lots of room, good balcony and all the necessities needed. Les and Julie were great hosts who are chipping away at making it an even better camp.

I love Lions Dryandra. Not so much in the heat of summer, but such a unique and beautiful woodland stay in the cooler months.
There are so many options for accommodation and the caretakers have been on site for many, many years. A really lovely couple.
Some rare native animals also in that area including Numbats and Bilby's. Possums are friendly visitors.
Absolutely recommend Lions Dryandra.

Ours stay in, cold July, was the highlight of our trip to WA. Really enjoyed the wildlife, lot's of birds, Kangaroos and we even spotted a small Numbat. We took the excellent nocturnal guided tour of Barna Mia and where amazed by al the small animals. Had the fire on at night and slept like babies, would love to come again.

Absolutely Incredible place to stay the cabins are clean and well maintained and in the the most beautiful location, Kangaroos, parrots, magpies, lots of birds, possums around the cottage. Take a short walk in the woodlands and you could see Woylies, Numbats and echidnas. Highly recommend!!!

Great place lots of wild life cabins very basic.
Des Braine — Google review
Stayed for 2 nights in Magpie Cottage, old but very comfortable with all the basics & atmosphere, even a cast iron wood stove in addition to electric stove but too warm to use it (wood available). Loved seeing wildlife from our cabin - roos galore, echidna, birds & a possum. Quiet & peaceful. Enjoyed our bushwalks & the nearby Barna Mia nocturnal experience. Of the 15 or so accommodations we had during our 5 week tour of WA, we enjoyed this stay the most, yet it was the cheapest! We will be back!
Joan Hagan — Google review
For a quiet and interesting place to visit this is the one. The cottages range from small to large and although visitors need to bring all bedding, pillows water and all food it is very comfortable. most have fireplaces so either bring your own wood or buy there, axes provided. The surrounding woodland has many walking trails some short distances, others long, night walks as well. No wifi but that means peace and quiet from phone calls.
The staff are volunteers providing a good service

Basic facilities, but comfortable and everything you could need. Great kitchen and mess hall, so well priced and a really great option for a group camp out in colder weather. Nice to be able to have a hot shower and sleep in a warm bed after sitting around by the fire. We saw a bandicoot, kangaroos and possums 😊 fantastic playground, kids had a ball!

Just a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone involved..
Amazing collection of antique, vintage and modern lace. I loved the accompanying photos with the original owner actually wearing the clothing. The room was a little bit dim to properly read the blurbs or see some of the detail, but it did explain that low light is best to preserve the fabric. An amazing collection you would not believe could be living in Hyden!!
Kelli Bee — Google review
Ive found a new love and interest. Lace. I particularly enjoyed the old world gallery of exquisite displays of vintage lace draws, mannequin displays, conversation 101 about lace and the story of how the museum "The Lace Place" came to be. I was in awe of the carriages of my yesteryear and detailed bridal gowns, baby christening gowns, gloves, collars, etc, etc. I could go on and on.
Like everything hand made it must be preserved and cared for. Thank you to the curator for your curtious and caring introduction of the museum.
Penelope Smith-Carter Dichiera — Google review
It is a beautiful historical place. The history in the lace work has to be seen.

Not open suggest ringing before going as website is totally wrong and obviously not updated regualry
Striking, wave-shaped natural rock formation, approximately 15 m. tall & billions of years old.
I really enjoyed our night here! The facilities were clean and modern. The tent sites have a fake grass pad you can put your tent on which is so great not only for comfort, but cleanliness. Great price too! $37 for 3 people in a tent.
There are many BBQ areas, a play ground, cricket net, little kitchen, laundry, clothes lines and a beautiful pool!
And the best thing is that the caravan park is so close to wave rock and central to magic lake, the salt pool and hippos yawn - all which you can see on a 3.6km loop trail. All of these attractions were impressive in size, look, cleanliness and colour! I loved it!
Free to swim in the very salty salt pool at the resort with showers to rinse off. Worth the experience of excessive floating and also to see the colour of the water!
Definitely keen to come back. :)

The camp site was nearly 70% empty but instead of spreading as per the customer's preference they put us next to each other. I think the campsite must cater for campers' preference and not for their own convenience. Otherwise it's a nice place.

It was great location and wave rock just behind it. If staying, no need to pay parking ticket to see wave rock, have nice basic amenities shower hot, kids play area, pool, barbecue. Lace place, and miniature soldiers museum just opposite. Overall, highly recommend it...

We've had an perfect stay in this beautiful caravan park! We only stayed one night, as our time comes to an end, but we would have love to extend our stay! The caravan staff in the kiosk is absolutely lovely, very kind, helpful and passionate about this special side. Both ladies welcomed us warm and provided us with great information and knowledge about the camp, wave Rock and all trails.
As this is the last station before we go home, we are very grateful for the marvelous customer service, and we will leave with a happy and satisfied mind and hearth. I will come back soon for sure and hope you guys will be still there to provide the same great service and experience again!
Absolutely worth the drive! Wave Rock, Hippo Yawn and all the trails and beeing rural in beautiful nature.

I am extremely thankful for the wonderful staff and management. I am a solo female traveller with my dog. I became quite ill the morning after I arrived and needed to call for an ambulance. The staff and management took great care of my dog and secured all of my belongings. Returning three days later, I managed to experience some of the beautiful natural wonders. The cafe and gift shop wonderful selection of tourist info as well as some wonderful gift ware. Great sausages rolls!!!!

Lovely caravan park, facilities are really clean. It has a nice cool pool for those hot desert days. Sites are close to trees for shade, within walking distance to wave rock and only a 3km out from Hyden.
Tyler Ayers — Google review
Park was okay. Spaces were roomy enough and showers were clean and pressure was okay. When we stayed the place was 80% empty yet they seem to put everyone right next to each other rather than spread us out. We were also put right next to the caravan dump point which absolutely stunk - avoid powered sites 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 which are either side of it. The pool is empty and looking a bit rough. Some of the sites had good tree coverage though.
Very close to Wave Rock. Couple minutes walk to get up close. Few other walking trails around too and a path that goes all the way to town which is good if headed to the pub for a few beers.
Also pet friendly.

Wonderful place to stay l was tent camping with a powered site only problem l was at 42 and my extension cord was 10 meter and did not reach the power. Apart from that the grounds were great they did a camp fire of an evening, camp kitchen was clean toilets and shower block were clean nice big covered area for people to share the playground was well looked after and close so you could see your children 2 big BBQ areas, boom gate access.....they were doing work around the pool which was ok cause it's winter time.
The rock is right next to the camp grounds, other attraction wildlife shop, the lace shop, toy soldier, yesteryear museum and the wildlife park. The staff are super friendly and helpful

A great park to stay & see wave rock. Amenities were excellent, clean, well equipped camp kitchen & under cover area with tables & chairs & fire pit. Powered sites are bit close but for 2x nights was ok. Our site was level, ground is course pebbly sand with small strip of fake grass. Cafe across the road had good coffee & food & its short walk to the rock. We enjoyed & would recommend.
Beno Mar — Google review
We decided to do a cold weather camp. (RTT) I was expecting to have our own contained campfire, but it turned out to be a communal campfire. So sitting around your own camp was not an option in the cold weather. The amenities were clean and the caravan park was right next door to Wave Rock. Overall it was a pleasant experience and not crowded in the off-season, allowing us unrestricted access to the rock
John Bowie — Google review
Cabins are neat and tidy. Staff friendly. Close to the rock. The salt pool was awesome! Great walks that are easy to follow and short enough and mostly flat enough that anyone could do them.
No big deal but to note is a bare minimum of kitchen utensils/ tea/ coffee. For $150 a night you generally expect a bit more (pubs in the area will generally have cereal/ toast breakfast options).

Incredible rock formation, very impressive. And very few people...
Nice walking tracks in the area.
Didn't sleep here, went an hour further to a nice free spot, but the campground looks nice, and I guess the hotel too...

Caravan park at base of Wave Rock - great location!
Checkin quick & simple & good directions. Got a feel busy & no time to chat or sell you on the area or other things to do. Check out simple & quick.
Site hard & on a slight slope. Quite wide with large concrete pad. Amenities were excellent. Pool was very cold - would be great in summer.
5 min walk to Wave Rock & free entry as guest. Also free entry to the Resort & facilities incl salt pool.
Salt pool was also good - still being finished but great soak & float. Very cold but warm in the middle.
Easy drive out to the Humps.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! Children playing and making new friends , friendly helpful campers and beautiful natural scenery and locals. The management couldn’t do enough to help and guide us. There was an incident which occurred one evening when an extremely intoxicated lady was very disruptive after lights out and I witnessed the staff attend after hours without hesitation and conducted themselves in a calm respectful manner and prioritised all of our care. Outstanding management. The floating salt lake is an amazing experience and was handy so nearby. This will be a regular family stay for us 🥰🥰😁

Wave rock itself totally exceeded our expectations. Go for the long walk on wave rock. Wave Rock is amazing. Take the time to look at the lace museum too. It's very good. Cafe is nice too. Friendly staff,☺️
Very disappointed that the pool was broken and not available as it was stinking hot in the outback and their website advertised a pool

Good facilities, great location, disappointed the pitch formed part of the roadway and people ran over our power cable and damaged it. Disappointed the bin man thought we would move our car parked in our pitch because he wanted to get through. Choose your pitch wisely.

We had a marvellous stay over at one of the cottages. Plenty of room and amenities, no oven but we made use of the hotplates and was nice to have a hot shower at the end of the day.. i would recommend staying here when going to see wave rock and other beautiful spots in the area, we will be back

A great caravan park for those wishing to visit this iconic location. The staff were friendly and helpful in their interaction with us and provided the advice we needed to enjoy our stay. The friendly flies were extremely happy to share our space so bring a fly veil along as that's inland bush living 😀. Most rock sites are an easy walk from the park with outlying areas a short drive away. This is a bucket list place so it is a must see. Enjoy
Andrew de Boeck — Google review
What a great location, to camp right at the base of wave rock. This camp ground has good amenities, bbq, bathrooms clean, good shower pressure and a beautiful pool. The fake grass at most sites makes it so much more comfortable, amongst the sandy/dusty dry environment. The $12 car entry to wave rock, salt pool and lake walk is included in the caravan park payment.
Donna O'Shea — Google review
The grounds in the caravan park were great with a playground for the kids, a large TV area undercover outside between the two blocks of toilets, clean BBQs, great hot showers and an awesome swimming pool, for us the actual wave rock was a let down. But the pool made up for the hot walk
Billy Watt — Google review
Decent accommodation option. The pool is great to cool you down after a hot day out. The water is good enough not to be cold and to cool you down in the same time. The rooms are clean and big enough. Cannot comment on the food and the pub next to it as we did not had the chance to get there.
Bogdan Arama — Google review
Perfect location for seeing and climbing on Wave Rock, literally right next to it. Ablution blocks are old but clean. Reception staff were friendly, didn't see any other staff around the park.
Kevin Farthing — Google review
Stayed in the caravan park which had the basic amenities. No camp kitchen but serviceable BBQ. All amenities were clean and showers are hot. Be careful of floors in shower recess as they are slippery.
The receptionists were very helpful and informative.
Expected a bit more considering it’s a resort of sorts and the price of the sites.
Great access to the Rock and surrounding Pool (no water at the moment due to no rain) and other rock formations.
Worth going in to view
Judi Mercer — Google review
Great location close enough to walk to rock at night for nice night photos. Most staff are lovely but one grump let's the team down. Site we were put on was so tight and close to caravan next door (and they were 3ft inside their site boundary) that we weren't able to even put our awning out but still charged same price. On leaving the grump completely ignored me in shop when I was handing boom gate key back ....so they lost a souvenir sale too!!

Camp kitchen small & no utensils if you forget to take something. Many caravanners here & ablutions clean. Could do with another laundry as no dryers for inclement weather, except clotheslines. Washing machines could be cold water wash only to help save hot water for showers. Very clean & always busy.

Very clean and well equipped. Children's playground BBQ areas. Close to the cafe which had great meals and snacks.
Imposing, large gaping rock named because of its resemblance to a yawning hippopotamus.
A beautiful rock formation near the Wave Rock. A must see that is a 15-20mins walk away. If you are facing the Wave Rock, the path to your left leads to the Hippo Yawn. Check it out!

Hippo's Yawn was the next stop after Wave Rock, another stunning rock formation, connected to Wave Rock by a one km stretch of walking track, apparently, Hippo's
Yawn is the second most visited site in the region.
This series of granite boulders seem to spring out of the land below and is the opening to a shallow cave. You can do the walk or drive down the road a little and park right in front of the formation, no waking required.

Hippo Yawn at Hyden
Visited on 21/5/2022
Hypo's Yawn is about 5 km from Hyden town, and 1 km following a trail from the base of the Wave Rock.
It is a giant granite boulder with a shallow cave, about 12,6 m high from the ground to the top. The rock's resemblance to a yawning hippo, minus the teeth, has given it its name.
It is a great spot for selfish. One looks rather small standing just at the bottom if it's mouth.

Most Underrated Beach. This caught us by surprise because we had detoured from our original plan after seeing a random sign for a reef on the highway 10/10
Ended up staying the night as there was camping and toilets. The beach has a reef with extraordinary biodiversity. Its protected by a rock walls so its safe from the waves. As a beginner snorkeler I was incredibly amazed by how much I saw without being out of my comfort zone. Probably even better for diving as the water is deep but I was happy to stay on the surface and enjoy the view. Drive to esperance next morning was 90 mins.

Facilities at Stokes Inlet, just 80 Kms west of Esperance WA, are excellent for both overnight camping and day trippers. Right at the water's edge are two well appointed picnic shelters with gas BBQ and sink, toilets, boat ramp and fish cleaning table for day use. Camping sites are large, flat and well sheltered, just a little higher up the estuary. Camp sites are well laid out for privacy and have easy access to camp kitchens with water views, toilets and boat ramp. Walk paths and toilets are wheelchair suitable.

Very nice campground. Individual campsites level, prepared surface. Sites very secluded. Amenities modern stainless steel. No site very far from a toilet. You will need to bring your own water. And there are no bins - the policy at a lot of these National Parks campsites is for campers to take there own rubbish with them when they leave. Obviously people will use the bins at the nearest roadside parking bay.

Wonderful park beaches, cliffs and rugged hills. Only a short drive from Hopetown. Campsite has new facilities with hot showers.
