Lots of interesting, educational plaques throughout. Great to get a different view from the canopy walk. Just disappointed we arrived too late for the guided tour. Would definitely go back.

Nice place to walk and relax among the trees, it’s okay to do even on a hot day as you are quite protected from the trees making it pleasant to dwell and take in the scenery along the walk which takes around 30-40 minutes return depending on your walking pace. Easy walk though.

Saw a powerful owl! Interesting Guides along the walk who were happy to share their wealth of knowledge. Gift shop has a lovely selection of various priced gifts (for others or self!). Cafe was nice, lovely way to spend a morning.
Kerrie Williams — Google review
Really loved this place, would take a good 2 hours to go round the Sea acres rainforest, the fact that you would get to see some very unique trees, and very old one at that is quite stunning. The board walk is circular and you would live close to pure nature and breath absolutely unspoiled air while being inside. The most interesting aspect is that you get to see how the Fig trees grow and some are marvelous and can impart so much education. A fantastic place and a very refreshing feeling..

The Land Of The Giants. Everything is reaching for the sky. So beautiful. Beautifully maintained, lovely staff. Cafè fabulous.

Easy walk and refreshing air with a few wild animals to spot, nice but average view of rainforest. Very short route which is a bit overpriced, they even charge $1 for one paper map after paying for tickets already. Still recommend to have a walk here, but the pricing can be fixed better.
Guapi He — Google review
A lovely short walk on high boardwalks. Well constructed. Gives a fantastic view of rainforest. We didn't see many animals but loved just being in nature and seeing the different trees.
Katie Hughes — Google review
We loved it, enjoyed our time by walking around, captured a blue tongue lizard, a turkey and a goanna.
BUT be aware that they charge $1 for one piece of paper map/ a short introduction of animals, or at least inform customers that it cost $1 before we pay as it’s usually included in the ticket price. To be honest, this $1 paper map selling strategy sucks as people usually don’t mind to pay that $1 if it’s included in the ticket not after paid for the ticket and get charged another $1 for the paper map. Receptionist don’t inform customer either, this is quite rude.

During our visit to Port Macquarie we visited this place. Such a peaceful place. I would love to go back again.
During our walk we got to meet Beautiful volunteer Mary Curtis who is an expertise about rainforest. We are soo glad we got to meet her and chat about the rainforest.
Such a beautiful walk inside the rainforest. So much to learn and see about different flora and fauna. Takes 30-40mins Max to finish. Free entry and plenty of free parking outside the centre.
Wish to come back soon 💜

Lovely place, we didn't see any animals however we were lucky enough to see a powerful owl which was amazing 😊
Milly Cannon — Google review
It was really busy but the staff were lovely and we enjoyed the nice gift shop. The walk itself is only 1.3kms but we really took our time so stayed out an hour, I am sure others can do it in half that. Everything looked a little dry in the forest but lots of places are suffering the same fate. Would recommend if you like nature, but its not a zoo so wildlife is hit and miss

Beautiful scones and coffee and lots of gift ideas , also looking into the rainforest while drinking your coffee!

It's been 20 years since our last visit. The location hasn't changed very much. I had my first chai latte 20 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, I had another this visit and was pleasantly surprised that they were as good then and it was now..

Always a lovely experience here. The boardwalk is great- something new to see each time you visit. On this visit, desk staff pointed out two roosting powerful owls at walk marker 78-79. Our first time seeing them! The cafe and gift shop are also great! I purchased some stuffed animals for my grandchildren and we had some takeaway treats from the cafe: apple pie, strawberry tart, and GF rhubarb muffin(favorite).

Cute walk in the rainforest 🍃The place is modern and well maintained. The walk is super easy and very interesting to see all the different trees etc.

This is presented as a 3 star experience. Great; include this in your visit.
Easy accessibility, including wheelchairs and prams. Reasonable price. Neat store and cafe.
Easy grades on the boardwalk. Good interpretation. 1.4 km. Guided tours available; extended walks along the coast too.
Clean toilets.
This is a national park, no dogs.

Billabong Zoo Koala & Wildlife Park is a popular tourist spot that offers visitors the opportunity to view, feed, and interact with an array of native and exotic animals. The zoo also features playgrounds and picnic areas for families to enjoy. Despite not being a large zoo, visitors can easily spend roughly six hours there indulging in animal encounters - which are said to be brilliant.
Billabong zoo and wildlife park is beautiful, the lay out of the zoo is very easy to get around...
It's very neat and tidy, all the animals look fantastic...
The only thing missing was eastern grey kangaroos , all staff where friendly and helpful.
Hayley Redstar — Google review
Billabong Zoo was a pleasant visit. The Zoo is obviously well cared for and despite being on the small side obviously is well loved. The Gardens are beautiful and must take a lot of work to be cared for.
Obviously all private zoos struggle for money and this is evident at Billabong Zoo as some of the Aviary’s are quite outdated and the encounters basic, would love to see more of a focus on providing unique encounters and more in-depth talks from the Keepers.
Government grant for this Zoo would go a long way I’m sure! Will be very keen to revisit when the night zoo becomes available if well executed.

Visited the zoo last Saturday - highly recommend as an outing for adults as well as children - lots to see in an easy walk around the many enclosures. Friendly knowledgeable staff willing to answer any questions about the various exhibits. Great day out.
Jennie Drury — Google review
Absolutely loved the zoo. The wombat enclosure rocks as you can see them in their natural habitat. Shame that the big cats were out of sight but that happens. The raptors were awesome, one of my favourites and of course the little penguins put on a show for us thanks you're amazing
Mary-Anne Bell — Google review
The zoo is a great cost effective day out for the family. The kids park is great as you can burn the little one’s energy off. Just a few things to note, we noticed that the front reception man was lovely to deal with, however it’s evident that he isn’t big on kids as they touch all the toys for sale. His way of expressing to them not to touch should be assessed. Maybe going over and engaging with them he would get a better outcome from them. The front entrance has an entry and an exit only sign but people just head to the exit to enter and it was causing unnecessary communication from the staff to the customer. We think a small gate at the exit that only opens one way would fix that issue for them. The food was great at the cafe. There seems to be a bit of chef verses front of house attitude, the chef seemed to use her position over the juniors. We requested some tartare sauce, we were told $2.50. Now we don’t mind paying for anything but given all we needed was a little bit it was a bit hefty since we just paid $180 in food and drinks. We didn’t even use enough to make it lower than the rim of the ramekin we were supplied. May we suggest that you offer a small portion of sauce or if people would like to pay for a large portion for $2.50. Or ask the customer at the counter if they would like any sauces with the salt and pepper squid? We had the beef brisket burger it was delicious. The onion rings were yummy also. We will be back.

This is a small little zoo in port macquarie, nsw. The zoo is not very big, and it doesn't have alot of animals attraction like other big zoo. But its not too bad, and they do have alot of koalas and kangaroos. I think, I'm sure the kids would love it. But If you happen to be there with your kids and family, be sure to check out the zoo.

Great place to take your time and wander around freely. Had some good fun with some of the bird enclosures that talk back to you! Didn't get to see the crocodile or the Lion, and most of the kangaroos were already well fed by the afternoon. Recommend attending earlier than mid afternoon as the sun was behind most of the animals and made it difficult to see some of them through the glass.

Billabong Zoo Mothers Day Meerkat experience. My girls bought me a Meerkat encounter for Mothers Day. Wow..... they are so cute and adorable. Great experience, just not long enough. Billabong Zoo itself was great.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
The oldest daughter paid $10 to hold one of the snakes and take pictures of while on her.
While waiting for my Meerkat encounter, we sat at the cafe and ordered a little to eat and drink. All in all, it was a nice family day out.

Good Experience of Kangaroo. Billabong Zoo is a popular wildlife park located in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia. It's known for its diverse range of animals and offers various interactive experiences, including feeding sessions, animal encounters, and educational programs. The zoo focuses on conservation and provides visitors with the opportunity to learn about and engage with various species, including koalas, kangaroos, reptiles, and more.

Great zoo. Medium-sized but has a wide variety of animals, including non-indigenous ones. Staff give regular talks on certain animals - these are very interesting and educational. The animals are clearly well treated and the staff are very knowledgeable and caring about them.
Highlight: personally feeding the kangaroos and wallabies.
Grant Sansom-Sherwill — Google review
Really enjoyed our time here! All up spent roughly 6 hours even though it’s not necessarily a huge zoo. I was lucky enough to do 4 of the animal encounters and they were brilliant. The crowd wasn’t too busy which was perfect (I can’t imagine peak holiday times would be too enjoyable). The vibe from the staff was pretty happy, chill and friendly - I really liked it.
There were a few news areas being built and some things not running which makes sense given Covid but still an awesome time.
Olivia Maree — Google review
Very good zoo, staff takes good care of the animals and has a lot of patience doing their duties. The zoo is clean. (It was hard finding hand sanitisers around the kangaroo's feeding area, but it was pretty hectic on that day) Zoo is kids friendly and family friendly. Overall, we had fun there

Lovely little zoo! Lots to see and do. They always have a nice schedule of events/ nature talks, many of which allow you to interact with the animals. Love that they take in injured wildlife.

I loved the zoo it is really good place to visit on the weekend, it takes 2-3 hours in total to discover and see all the animals, I really liked Shrek, you have to see him. And make sure to hand feed the wallabies, they are adorable. There are toilets, cafe and icecream place
kozet krm — Google review
Great experience for the children. Lots to see and do including feeding the wallabies and wallaroos. Staff do presentations on the different animals at timely intervals, so great learning experience.

What a great place - absolutely recommend visiting. Very warm welcome and immensely enjoyable seeing a wide range of animals without having to walk for miles and miles. The koala bears are very cute and the crocodile was fascinating. Make sure you check the board for activities like feeding times etc. There is a lot of verity so plenty to see including big cats.

This has been our favourite zoo experience in Australia so far! On our first visit, we paid for the red panda experience and definitely do not regret it, the red pandas were so gentle and you can tell they were greatly looked after.
On our second visit, we took part in the marmoset experience and it absolutely made our holiday! You can tell the staff are very dedicated to the animals welfare, and that their hard work goes towards a great cause. We highly recommend you stop by when you go to Port Macquarie!

It is an absolute MUST to stop here for a good half a day at a minimum!
The talks are fantastic and the range of wildlife there is frankly amazing.
If you're in the Port Macquarie area do yourself a favour and visit here!!

We've been to plenty of wildlife parks in Australia. We liked this one. A good size for a couple of hours/half a day. The underground wombat viewing room was a highlight, as was the lions. The grounds were well maintained and in good condition. Was not too busy on New Years Day.
Shane White — Google review
Great afternoon out for relaxing and unwinding. Loved the smoked salmon bagel for lunch. Snow leopard talk a real treat. Wasn't too crowded and good to see the quality of the terrain and exhibits.
Carolyn Jeffrey — Google review
Amazing and most hospitable employees. Shout out to Lionel from reception, Brooke and Mark from Snow Leopard enclosure.
Kangaroo feed can be purchased at three packs for $5. Kangaroos will actively hop to you for the snack!
Animals look healthy, happy and lively - a rare sight in many zoos where animals are usually asleep/looked bored/looked sad.
There are multiple animal talks from morning till about 230pm. Be sure to be there early. Keepers are extremely knowledgeable and are more than happy to answer your questions.
10/10 recommend. No regrets visiting. Went on a weekday with absolutely no crowd, such an enjoyable and peaceful visit. You can purchase tickets in advance or do walk ins.

Just back from the most amazing weekend away at Bellrowan Valley and wow - these guys have it down to a tee!
We had the pleasure of enjoying an overnight stay, and we all agree it really was the most relaxing, fun and refreshing weekend we've had in years. The only problem? One night isn’t nearly long enough!
Mark is kind, genuine and filled with knowledge, and trust between Mark and his "mob" of horses is an amazing thing to witness. The horses themselves are a joy to ride – fit, great movers and easy to feel comfortable on.
The rides are stunning, weaving through bush, rainforest and farmland, and if you’re an experienced rider, Mark allows for quite a lot of fast-paced riding, meaning you get to cover even more of his stunning property and get to enjoy these horses’ gorgeous forward-moving gates.
We also saw the team take out a few beginner trails during our stay and though some were really nervous beforehand, every single rider returned looking confident and extremely happy after their ride.
The food is spectacular (especially the fresh-baked damper!) and cabin accommodation just perfect for the atmosphere – all topped off with an open fire and a roaming rainbow donkey!
Thank you so much Mark, Julie and team for the perfect getaway. We’re so sad to be back to reality but already planning our return trip!

Wonderful experience!! Being first time riders, we where nervous going in but Mark and staff helped make it an unforgettable experience. Everything was handled in a professional and enjoyable manner. Well trained and beautiful horses, thorough training before the ride and the ride itself through the bushlands - PERFECT!! Highly recommend.

A great horse riding experience! Beautiful scenery, horses and very helpful staff. Loved how the ride catered for experienced riders and learners, all had a ball. The kids fell in love with their horses and the goat, cockatoo and little Bob the pony. Will definitely be back again. Mark and Julie really know how to give you a top riding and farm experience.

Had an amazing weekend away thanks to Mark and the team.
I would defiantly recommend to any ladies wanting to experience the country vibe!
Really enjoyed singing to the live music and learning to line dance as well as throw fire and crack a whip!
Nice home made food and beautiful horses who are well trained.
Comfy cabins with a hot shower was great!!

Three girlfriends and I, with mixed levels of experience, went to Bellrowan last Sunday and absolutely loved it! From the 4WD ride to and from the property, the horseriding and damper bread at the end, the whole experience was great. We separated from the group with Julie as our guide and she was great! She catered to the two of us that were either new or a little nervous about riding (even got us trotting comfortably), as well as the two that were more experienced and we all had a great time. It's very evident that both Julie and Mark love what they do. My favourite horse riding experience yet! Definitely worth a visit if you're anywhere remotely close by!
Alex Carr — Google review
Mark and Julie are wonderful hosts. Whether you're a novice or an experienced rider, you will enjoy riding and exploring some of the most beautiful scenery in the Greater Port Macquarie region. We truly had a wonderful experience and the kids did too. We will definately be returning.

What a amazing place. Just returned from an overnight stay and ride at Bellrowan. The staff clearly enjoy what they do, the horses are well cared for and Mark and Julie's passion for their horses shine through. Love the way the horses are matched to the riders level of experience and how everyone, from beginners to advanced are catered for! Can't wait to return for our next trip.
Timbertown is a recreated timber settlement that offers a nostalgic experience with its steam train rides, stables, and sawmill. The attraction hosts seasonal events and provides educational and entertaining activities for visitors of all ages. While some reviewers express concerns about the maintenance of the site, others fondly recall their childhood memories spent at Timbertown. Visitors can enjoy various rides such as horse-drawn carts and tractor rides, as well as interactive experiences like panning for gold and gemstones.
Great place for children and adults alike. Steam train and all rides included in the low entry fee and only 21mins drive from the centre of Port Macquarie. Wonderful place, with steam train rides, tractor rides, horse and carriage rides, working sawmill, paddle boats, turn of the century school, church, cottages, barber, fire station and even a Winery !

Loved it, I'm so happy you're still going. I was here over 35 years ago and I wanted to bring my son. I missed the bullocks but otherwise fantastic. Best part was the steam train ride at the end thanks so much

We loved Timbertown. What a magical place! The moment you step through the entrance you feel catapulted into another time and place. Set in lush bushland, you enter the world of the colonial era of a sawmill village. There is so much to see and do, we could have spent the whole day there and the kids and adults would have had no dull moment. We couldn’t understand the negative feedback re run down or too expensive. A family of 4 costs $96 and you don’t just get to see how people lived in that era in real life but it also includes the heritage train ride, mini steam train, horse and tractor rides, paddle boats, gold panning, animals everywhere, an operating saw mill, old school house and bell to ring, a large playground, winery (try the alcohol free grape sparkling vine as it is amazing). They also have a great selection of souvenirs, honey from the region, timber and hand crafted items. The fudge and cafe is very reasonable priced too. We honestly loved it and so did our kids ranging from 6-14 years old. All the staff there were very friendly and knowledgeable too. We will be back!

We had such a lovely day, wonderful rides included in the price, beautifully scenery and a step into history. We were saddened to see that the town is suffering due to lack of volunteers as so much is in disrepair and closed. I hope next time we come they will have been more successful finding staff to support this amazing place!
M-C Hoitink — Google review
Having grown up visiting Port Macquarie for holidays, I have a soft spot for Timbertown, and today's visit was bittersweet. My kids loved it, and had a whole lot of fun exploring the town, panning for gold and other stones/gems. They had wonderful rides on horse drawn cart rides, tractor rides, and interactions with the lovely staff.
What was bittersweet was seeing it as it is now and remembering what it once was.
I love the historical Australiana and learning about the different methods our ancestors used to get by.
A number of the displays and talks that I recall seeing are not there any more. I guess it's progress and the changing landscape of what will entertain and captivate people, a decline in visitors resulting in a lack of financial support to sustain some of the wonderful and informative shows they put on.
Like the long closed down Old Sydney Town on the Central Coast, it's a part of living history that seems to be dying off.
I would encourage everyone one to go and visit. Support it, engage with the staff and learn what you can. It's a piece of our history that is worth hanging on to.
Pack snacks or lunch as there are limited refreshments inside the place. There is a small store with drinks and ice creams, and there are toilets and plenty of places to sit and take in the scenery.
They are quite stroller friendly, with pathways around for easy access to most buildings.
David Earp — Google review
Timber town has been around for more than 40 years, my first visit when I was under ten years old, where now I'm in my mid fifties. Riding the steam engine and seeing the steam saw in action were the biggest attractions for me. A lot of the attractions are decaying over time, many not being maintained, other than a few, which seem to be the love of elderly folk whose skills will dissapear when they retire or pass on; which is the case with the bullock log haul they used to do, but now faded into history. The place needs significant investment to attract people back and retain an important part of Australian history; otherwise it will die along with the generation of folk who kept it alive.
Rodney Jones — Google review
My partner and I recently spent a wonderful day at Timbertown. The history on display and simplicity of life at that time is something everyone should be reminded of.
The steam era. Gem panning was fun too, first time and I did alright.

It’s definitely value for money, and staff are so nice 👍🏻 , each staff we’ve met are very approachable and friendly. The steam train is fun, and the miniature train. Absolutely will visit again next time in town.

Wow.. my 2 year old and 12 year old had a blast. What an authentic experience. No frills and fakness. We loved how natural it was. Pram and Wheelchair friendly. But not on steamtrain rides. Once you go to the reception you will get an itinerary of activities and timings for steam train, horse and truck carriages etc.

A must visit place if you are a tourist. Just to go back many years ago, how the British established the town, the houses they lived in, the bed, the crocheted works, the poems of the fireman, the IMPORTANCE of their wives, the duties of the teachers their pay scale, the varieties of saw cutters, the fireplace & so many heart touching things. The types of trains their quaint size & power of the steam engine all things to watch & go back the memory lane. How my two sons went hunting for gold or precious stones, my two daughter in laws admiring the animals. Loved every moment of my visit.

It was a nice little old style town half an hour drive away from Port Macquarie. We didn’t get to ride the chariots because it was too hot and the horses would have had a difficult time. Still, we had a great time.

Another lovely visit to Timbertown! The steam train is always a delight, we are so lucky to have people dedicated to keeping our steam history alive. Thank you to the Engineer for taking the time to chat to us after our ride. Hubby was plied with some port to taste at the cellars, and it was so good he in fact did not require any arm twisting at all and promptly bought three different bottles. Our thanks to the fortified winemaker for sharing his knowledge, and especially for pouring a bottle of Grandfather Port for hubby direct from the barrel. Angus and his friendly coach driver gave a lovely carriage ride around the park. We love buying local handmade goods from the arts and crafts shop, so much nicer than generic tourist items. Despite being a heatwave, the park was still so pleasant thanks to the canopy of trees and nice breeze. We finished with lunch at the Whistlestop Cafe just outside the park - the pulled pork burger was fresh made and delicious, just what we needed. Thank you to all for working on such a hot day, your efforts were very much appreciated!

It was ok. It is such a shame that it just hasn't kept up with the shifting times. They are in desperate need of people with related trades and I genuinely wish they find them.
It's still a great place to bring the kids and burn some energy off but it's a shadow of its former glory.

Visited the Cafe in Timbertown and left to not return. Hoping to find a bathroom before looking around, the rude Cafe worker with pink hair tried to hurry us along when looking around, and then told us bathrooms were for customers only, even though we were going to order. This attitude turned us off, as I'm sure it would many others.
Amazingly, they also won't let you eat the icecream, that they sell, inside. We will not return and hope others don't make the same mistake of visiting.
Jayden Young — Google review
I thought hard about this review. On the one hand, I only wanted to give Timbertown a few stars, as each time I visit, it just looks more run-down and must be a public liability claim waiting to happen. But on the other hand, I wanted to give 5 stars to encourage people to visit and keep this place alive.
Positives:
-Educational
-Entertaining
-Potential (has the bones of a good selection of attractions, though many are now not working)
-Must cost a fortune to keep running. I take my hat off to the owners and staff for staying open.
Negatives:
-Lady serving tickets was abrupt and not the greatest at welcoming (unlike the lady in the winery that was a blast and very entertaining)
-Lack of maintenance. Many of the buildings had timber floors and structures rotting and/or termites. Fences falling apart. Little theatre room has TV and seats, but nothing is being presented. Many of the displays are dusty and lifeless or not working. A bit of a rake of leaves and sticks along the main paths would go a long way to looking more presentable.
-Blacksmith and Bullock team are no longer operating (I'm guessing it's hard to find these skills these days).
The Australiana Poineer Village of Wilberforce is a good example of a similar run historical village that seems like it has a successful model working for it. On another scale is Sovereign Hill in Ballarat that is the pinnacle to strive for. Both these venues encourage and rely on volunteers for their operations.
Hopefully it's not another Old Sydney Town story where it was left to run into the ground and the owner then saying it didn't work, supposedly with the intention of redeveloping the site for other use.
Through personal experience of volunteering at a historical museum, I like to think I have pretty good tolerance and a pretty good common-sense approach to venues such as this. But I'm not sure that the general public would be so tolerant.
I hope on my next visit that there are noticeable improvements.

Just dropped in for a coffee, which was served in paper cups (not what I was expecting). Was it the owner outside the entrance having a smoke when we entered AND when we left (not a good look). Coffee was quite good, and views were amazing with a constant large school of bream and some angel fish right below our feet.

My amazing friend took me to this fabulous little place...! What a little gem to find and feed fish. Have great coffee and cake! We sailed into Laurieton/Dunbogan and found this beautiful spot. Definitely a place to check out if you come from land or water as it’s got access from both. The new owners Stuart and Robin are extremely friendly. The coffee is really good and you can feed the fish while you watch the world go by from the veranda. Highly recommended

Good coffee, friendly staff. (Would prefer a sit down coffee not served in takeaway paper cup)

Very upset! Peak holiday time
After looking up information online said it was open, drove from Port Mac only to get here and was closed!
Was not the only people there today wanting to have a coffee and feed the fish.
3 very disappointed kids

Beautiful spot on the water for a coffee. The new owners Stuart and Robin are great and dogs are allowed out the front. Definitely worth checking out while you are in the area!

Can not recommended purchasing ice cream in rain. The roof leaks everywhere over customers. However, the ice cream is very reasonably priced and actually had real fruit in it. I had mango and raspberry and it was heaven. Highly recommended but probably only in good weather until the owners fix the awning for customer protection

We do enjoy a coffee here. Quality is fine and the views are nice. But we came on a Sunday this time. Seemingly, every local with an untrained dog decided it was time for coffee!
Most of the owners ignored their noisy pets, or found them amusing, not caring that others had to put up with it. The dogs were barking, howling, jumping around the verandah, etc.
I like dogs. But the vendors need to work out how to find a balance . . . not just let dog lovers rule the place.
Superb views, food and hospitality. Will be back for sure. Harrington is such a wonderful place to enjoy for a day. Make sure you go to Crowdy Bay lighthouse.

Spectacular views from the deck, and relaxing on the sofa inside :) good value menu and predictable basics. Lovely team and service, nothing a hassle. Had the Cam cheeseburger which I haven't eaten yet but the steak cut chunky chips are fresh and delicious, cooked in fresh oil - perfect!! Thank you for being open and covid safe.

Basically the owners have no idea how to run a cafe. Great views but dirty windows covered in cobwebs. Smashed avocado was puree out of a bag and revolting. Excuse was old ladies squeezing fresh ones and bruising them! So many obvious mistakes that they should have done a hospitality course first. Ambience is low, so nothing going for it. I can see why they are struggling. They won't last IMHO.

Freshly battered whiting not oily at all, nice healthy salad (everything fresh). Definitely coming back again

Magic view! Speedy service and friendly staff. Hot chips are delish and very affordably priced.. smaller servings than I am used to but price reflects this.

First time in Harrington and this Cafe was recommended for a great breakfast. I wasn't disappointed. The staff were bery friendly and they were very flexible and accommodating as we arrived without a reservation for 8 people.
Good variety of food and it was very tasty. Prices were more than reasonable.
If your in Harrington. Do yourself a favour and have a great breakfast. Make sure you book if you have a big group.

Great cafe! Staff are efficient, friendly and working extra hard to make sure everyone has a great experience even with all the Covid restrictions. Food is delicious, with generous portions. Had Fathers Day breakfast this morning, and even with our family drama impacting on our booking, staff where patient, accommodating and really helpful. Recommend sitting on the terrace, the view is beautiful.

Wasn't impressed by one of the staff when rudely asked if we had checked in and if fully vaccinated. First impression wasn't a good start, however the owner George and the cook Jess, made up for it. Friendly, helpful and the food was very good. Will come back again.

Unit 1/21 Beach St, Harrington NSW 2427, Australia
Waterfall dropping over 150 meters, with viewing decks & long, steep steps to a pool at its base.
Amazing Waterfall! There was several ways to see the falls, depending on your level of fitness. The viewing platform at the top is easily accessible and gives an amazing view of the falls & the valley. The walk to the knoll is a fairly easy walk across the rim to the opposite site, with some steps, and lets you view the falls from across the valley.
The walk to the bottom of the falls takes you through the rainforest down 641 Steps (and back up ofcourse) The track has been renovated and consists mainly of wooden Steps with sturdy railing. The new from there isjust spectacular!
There is also a short walk with about 100 steps to the head of the falls. Defintely worth the drive out!
Lieske Vrachnos — Google review
The walking trail was so safe! Even though it was narrow, it felt secure. The waterfall was absolutely stunning and the water was incredibly fresh too!
Ali E — Google review
Such an amazing experience, there is a total of 1282 stairs to climb (up and down) to view the waterfall from the bottom. This may sound daunting however it is well worth the challenge in the end and a great way of exercise.
Patrick Seychelles — Google review
It's just spectacular the view.
Easy walk to top of Falls from a viewing platform.
Can be a little slippery to the 2nd viewing platform and narrow but rewarding viewing.
We didn't do the big walk down to bottom of Falls as we have done before and it was breathtaking, wow moment when we got there but it's always great going down but you have to get back up and wow that's a great exercise.
Amenities where clean, wheelchair toilet, bins, fire pits with BBQ plate, sheltered seating with more seating available, canteen was open in December 2022 school holidays.
We arrived early 9am, not crowded
Kim Amato — Google review
Very rough road on the way there. There were lots of big holes so can be difficult for small cars.
We got there early (around 9) on Saturday and main parking was already full by the time we finished past 10:30.
Wooden stair access to the bottom of the falls. Can be quite slippery if it rained the previous day so be very careful when going down.

Breathtaking falls with a great spot for swimming at the foot of the falls. Walk down is easy while the walk up can get a bit tiring due to its uphill nature. Will require moderate level of fitness. Also requires climbing over rocks to get to the swimming spot.
prashanth nair — Google review
You probably have already seen similar photos but I guess the more photos there are, the better understanding a reader can achieve of the place that he or she is going to visit. But yeah, you can view this waterfall from four different places - one viewing platform from the side, one near the head of the waterfall, and two other places as you get down to the bottom of the fall. We didn’t have enough time for the latter two but still think it is worth the visit. You probably need a solid hour just for getting down and back up.
Tony Zhu — Google review
Absolutely stunning and well worth a visit! Beautiful walk through the rainforest on designated stairs to view the bottom of the falls. Hint - you need to be fairly fit to do the stairs down and back up!
Leah Taylor — Google review
I would be delighted to write a review about a beautiful waterfall and bush walking down to the fall!
I recently had the opportunity to visit a stunning waterfall nestled deep in the heart of the bush. From the moment I arrived, I was immediately struck by the serene beauty of the surrounding landscape. The waterfall itself was a magnificent sight to behold, with crystal-clear water cascading down a series of rocky ledges before pooling at the base in a tranquil, blue-green pond.
Hashini Nirashika — Google review
Gorgeous falls and beautiful spot. The last 15 km is unpaved road but easily accessible via 2wd. The parking has a viewing platform and you can see the falls from there. The Knoll is easy 10 min walk with some steps. It's only one person walk way so you have to be careful. Lower Falls has 651 steps and only one person can go at a time on steps. Plenty of parking and a kiosk that is open until 4pm.
Rabail Abeer — Google review
Beautiful area, nature at its best. View from platform down is amazing. However, the 600 plus steps to the bottom is worth it the effort.
Gab “Gaby” Brand — Google review
What an amazingly beautiful fall. The cascading waterfall, plunging from a height of 200 meters, creates a spectacular sight amidst lush rainforest surroundings. There are different viewing platforms from many vantage points provides an excellent looks to admire the falls and capture stunning photographs. The hike to the base of the falls offers an immersive experience and strenuous. There’s 700+ steps to the base of the fall. Additionally, the area boasts picnic facilities and walking trails, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts.
A must to see in NSW
- Road to the fall from Taree had around 5km of unsealed road.

No Words to describe this place. Very spectacular place. Worth the walk. This place had steps to go down to the falls. Which is really helpful. It was very adventurous for me and my family. But be careful of the little friends leeches. Have rain coats handy. It's bit slippery...People of all age should be careful as it could cause graze. There are restrooms, and picnic table.

200 metres, Ellenborough Falls is the tallest single drop waterfall in New South Wales and amongst the tallest in the southern hemisphere. It's an iconic experience of the Manning Valley area in the Barrington Coast.
At the top of the falls near the car park is the first viewing platform and nearby there's a short walk to another viewing area near the waterfall drop-off. Both of these are easy effort.
A strenuous option is to descend 641 steps to the bottom of the falls to see the waters tumbling down towards you from the bottom of the ravine.
Barrington Coast — Google review
Incredible! Go for a swim at the bottom of the falls, be careful of slippery rocks and belongings getting saturated from the water mist, then go for a swim at the top of the falls after you finish walking back up (trust me you'll appreciate it in this order) and take a water bottle for the walk. Will be returning!

The vista! Would reccomend. Although part of the road is dirt so make sure you have a car capable for that. Most cars should be fine though.

Second largest waterfall in Australia. It is a long drive from port macquarie but worth it. The Knoll trail is really simple to do, we took 10min each way at an average speed.

Great little free spot to park a caravan rv or tent . There are toilets, 2 free BBQ's with 2 power points on the front. Also a couple of drinking water taps. A local fella comes around to welcome you with a list of spots to visit and information.
The is plenty of riverfront to drop a line or use the jetty or launch a boat.
There are a few walking tracks into the bushland reserve to see the local flying fox colony. This is a sight to see! Maybe not hear lol twice daily.

Up close with bats in the wild. Worth a visit. Walk is only short (we did it easily with a baby in a carrier(. Bats can be quite loud as you walk underneath them, but there are a lot of them!

A nice local "oasis".
An easy walk around some fauna and flora of the area. You'd need 20min plus.
Worth a look.

Great slice of old growth rainforest with flat tracks suitable to wheelchairs or mobile limited people. As soon as you get close the smells and sounds engulf you and you lose the sense of the city. Plenty of wildlife for kids to wow at and with toulets, benches and cook ateas would make a nice picnic.
Observation tower offering sweeping views of the hills & ocean, including whales in winter.
Great lookout. But quite steep to get to the top difinatly need to be fit. Lots of steps.
Recommended take water and spray for mosquito's before you head up. Brilliant view when you do make it.

One of our fav spots when in Forster. It’s a nice little hike up to the top with beautiful views of Forster. Definitely take mosquito repellent, sunscreen & lots of water!
Just wish you were able to see the lake side. Would be nice if they built it up one more level!

Take the mossie spay! 400m walk up to the lookout, however steep steps. Do not go on a rainy/stormy day as it is dangerous to climb up the staircase. Space on the side for car and trailer.

Great view of Forster and the treetops at the end of the walk uphill. It’s not too far from the car park, maybe 15-20 min each way and lots of seats to take a rest along the track.

Great walk not too long a bit steep but under trees and lots of seats along the way. When at the top there is an easy climb to the top of the viewing platform. Views are great if they raised the platform or trimmed the trees so you could see more of the views.

VERY UPHILL hike through a forest. It can get very tiring so bring water bottles and some entertainment. The view from the actual lookout was stunning so it was worth it.

Reasonable walk with several chairs for rest breaks, disappointed in the view, it needs a fourth level or lots of trees trimmed.

Short, steep walk up copper log stairs. Viewing tower gives nice views north over Forster. Vegetation blocks view in all other directions, but not all is lost as it attracts a lot of different butterflies

well worth the short walk up if your in the area. Good view over Forster but trees have grown and views in other directions not what they were when I visited years ago.
This rockpool is seperated from the river by a mesh, so there's still strong current flowing in and out. It's very different from regular rock pools.

Tuncurry Rockpool is one of the most popular family beaches of the Great Lakes region in the Barrington Coast. The white sands and blue waters of Wallis Lake are seen here to perfection.
The location is very scenic and very convenient to town services, including the popular Rockpool Cafe.
The beach here is not patrolled. Swimmers should take extreme care as the location of the rockpool and the tidal nature of Wallis Lake means the swimming area is subject to currents and tidal surges. The safety net with buoys is there to assist swimmers in difficulty.
Barrington Coast — Google review
Perfect spot to take the kids. Gets packed during holiday period as expected but no more than the rest of the region. Top little Cafe with good food and excellent coffee, just get there early if you're visiting during peak times.
vakarian88 — Google review
Great place for a swim, safe for children as well. Food & drinks available from the nearby Cafe.
Scenery is fabulous & a walk out to the end of the causeway is a must. If you fish , you can also wet a line here, not sure what the catch rate is , but always seem to be popular with the locals. Would recommend to spend a lazy day here. Even looks spectacular in stormy weather , as the spray comes up over the end of the causeway.
The tidal rush is really good to see, & on the odd occasion dolphins put on a display as they go back & forth into the lake. Kev.

Great place to take kids for a swim + play in the sand. The netting makes it safe and the bay is protected from the change of tide currents.

Good place for a swim, the net is only to stop you from being sucked out to sea. It is not patrolled and it's depth changes throughout the year. So keep an eye on the kids.

Absolutely chockers with cabanas packed like sardines. Too many people in the water to fully enjoy this beautiful place. We did find a parking spot and snagged a picnic table in the shade down by the side of the rockpool. The jetskis screaming in and out the harbour created a lot of wash and noise. Will be looking for somewhere quiter from now on.

What a place for a rider. Over 1000 motorcycles, a few cars, even childrens toys. They even have a shop if you want a souvenir or t shirt. Nice staff too. Check the hours, they close at 3pm. Multiple days would be needed to properly appreciate everything. This is a down to earth and authentic museum. The bikes are not in display cases, they are all lined up bar end to bar end. And what a range of machines covering over 100 years of motorcycling. Highly recommended.

Elegant 1875 lighthouse with external stairs leading up to a lookout popular for whale watching.
Found this gem via the AllTrails app. We had a lovely walk around the grounds. Beautiful views in every direction. Grotto before lighthouse was cool too. Once you’re on the grounds, the ascent to the lighthouse is very, very steep. I would say the walk is stroller friendly, but not wheelchair accessible. We pushed our pram as far as we could, and then left it near the stairs. If you’re in the area, do it! Worth it!

Always a beautiful place to visit and take in the scenery.
A steep incline at bottom of light house ( cottage ) upto the light house.

It's beautiful here. Fab views, fresh air and a lighthouse. You can't ask for more. It is 660 m of walking though to it, which was difficult for hubby who needs a walking stick. Thank goodness for a loo part way! Tho I confess i peed in a bush due to no tap for washing of hands :-) And I only got a wee way up the steps and ramp to the top as it is so very steep. I had to crawl down backwards. Anyway it is a wonderful place and you can stay in the cottages.
Sherry Mackay — Google review
What a lovely place! I would one day want to try and stay overnight at the lighthouse.
Note that the path from the sleeping area / guest area to the light house itself is very steep. It is paved, just steep. Hold on to the railings for support and balance.
The scenic view from the top is amazing.
I don't think you can get inside the lighthouse, but you can certainly walk up the stairs.
Important to note that even though the stairs is not that high, if it is a windy day, you'll feel the strong wind. Always hold on to the rails.
Charisma Magallanes — Google review
Beautiful place! Little bit of a hike along a clearly marked trail, dunny halfway along, but gets quite steep at the end as you ascend the hill to reach the lighthouse. The view is spectacular, and a couple of the secluded beaches that you pass on the journey there are visible (and well worth the visit as well) highly recommended!

Interesting bit of history not lots there except wind, there are plaques up to inform on why this place came about, lacks photos of things like how the old rail system worked, be nice to seem more photos or operations etc without having to book tour, decent walk up the hill with views take coffee enjoy the serenity, and you might even see some white breasted Eagles souring high overhead. Worth a visit on the way through.

A gorgeous 360 views from the top in every direction. You can drive 4wd on the lighthouse beach. The views are worth visiting this end. The lighthouse walk is very steep but worth it. From the parking it's only 640m walk which is stroller and wheel chair friendly but not to the top of lighthouse as it's steep.

Its a pleasant and mostly flat 700m walk from the car park through the trees to the lighthouse. Then the driveway to the cottages goes up hill for about 50m, then a very steep 30m+ path leads to the lighthouse. Very nice views are to be had over the seal rocks and the beach to the south. Its very worth the walk. You can climb a little way up the lighthouse for more views.

Myall Lakes National Park is a picturesque area with an abundance of natural beauty and outdoor activities to explore. The park boasts waterfront terrain for fishing, camping, and hiking. Additionally, visitors can experience the historic lighthouse along with its charming cottages. Although access may be limited due to the booking system, it remains a coveted destination due to its stunning beaches and abundant wildlife.
Very clean and well space camping areas, we stayed at Dee's Corner and some of the site away from the road have great shade and are all very close to the lake, water is brackish but clean and clean. Sandy bottom made it easy to walk about.
There is a walking track to the surf beach directly opposite the camp ground, with a pretty easy walk to the beach.
There is 4wd access to the beach there too but you do need a permit.
We had a very enjoyable stay.

Book early for campsites, make sure that you can get to the campsite that you book and please remove your booking if you can't actually use it as many people love the sites and book but don't actually pitch up on the day.

The Grandis. A very mature and tall flooded gum tree. A real show piece. Easy access on site. The approach road is unsealed but in great shape. Take some bug repellent if critters annoy you. The access is via the lakes way or Wooton way. Enjoy

Wonderful bush camping spots in Mungo Brush campground, near the water ( where you can see sunsets over the lake)and right next to a section of rainforest, home to 1000's of fruit bats.
Incredible birdwatching as well, including the glorious black and gold regent bowerbird.
Pit toilets, no showers, bring own water.

Great park - there are camping fees and park entry fees but it's well worth it for the facilities and how beautiful this park is. Bring you're own firewood if there isn't a ban and keep your eye out for dingoes and goannas.
Tomaree Head is a picturesque peninsula that boasts sandy beaches and hiking trails leading up bushy mountains, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean. The hike is moderately challenging, involving some climbing up stairs, but the well-maintained pathway makes it relatively easy. Along the way, hikers can admire about 1 km of lush vegetation on an elevated walkway while taking in stunning vistas of numerous bays and coves from the summit.
Definitely another must visit at Shoal Bay, in addition to the summit walk. It’s an easy flat walk with ocean breeze and access to the WWII torpedo emplacement & six inch gun emplacement, just be careful navigating through the rocks.
Terry Wang — Google review
About 1 km of very scenic vegetation, elevated walk away. Moderate ability. Some climbing up the stairs. The views were awesome. You can see many bays and coves from the summit. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in this area.
I Q — Google review
Gorgeous short 1km hike to the summit, beautiful 360 views at the top. Lots of stairs near the top, there are a few options to choose a paved path or traditional hiking path. These can be down in sneakers or even summer sandals if you didn’t pack hiking boots. It took me 12 minutes to get to the top, only stopping twice for a quick picture.

The Tomaree Coast track offers a great days hiking along this beautiful coastline! So much to see along the way.

Well it's quite a walk up the hill but I took some water and got up to the top and wow what have you if you make the trip up the mountain it is well worth it lot of spots it's quite easy the pathway is a lot better than what it used to be they spend a bit of time fixing up the path I do recommend going up the hill if you have the time the views are excellent from mwh

Beautiful place with awesome view and the coffee is really good. I can’t wait for my meals, it should be very tasty.

Only a gold coin donation the museum is situated in 3 rooms of the lighthouse cottage. One room consists of some local shipping history, one room is about the gun emplacements and ww2 history and the third about the marine rescue history. There is a gift shop and nearby tea rooms as well. Not very many car parks so you might have to be patient.
Shez H — Google review
Have to visit this place beautiful views and good restaurant and a wonderful souvenir shop.
Hosh Gam — Google review
The history contained in the museum is super interesting, but it's not presented in chronological order (or any other discernible order) and thus feels messy and overwhelming. I was excited to get to walk around the keeper's house but was sorely disappointed.
The lighthouse was... Not there? Not sure if I missed something here, but if I did it's because it's poorly laid out and signposted. There is A LOT of emphasis on the gift shop and tea house and little on anything else.
There is limited parking so you may be faced with a hike up the hill or a wait for a space.
Duncan McArdle — Google review
Wonderful views but the cafe is a bit tired. Great coffee. Wildlife (birds etc) a bit of a nuisance whilst eating.

The most spectacular view I have seen since I left brisbane. The view is just breathing, the Crystal water, sand ,ocean and the two islands at the back. Mamma Mia! The lighthouse museum is interesting to walk through. We had a coffee at the tea room, staff friendly and view spectacular.

We love the marina. It really gives our town a lively beating heart with loads of good restaurants on offer as you wander around.
Great place to:
Buy some fresh fish
Go fishing along the breakwater
Let the kids play and run around
Grab the best ice cream in town
Enjoy a meal
Go on an excursion on the water
Have a bbq overlooking the Marina
… or just sit and relax
We watch the NYE fireworks here and the atmosphere is really festive with lots going on. Will do the same next year.

A clean and modern venue with a variety of shops. The shops that are there are OK, but there are a lot of vacant ones, and the restaurants are mostly a bit too fancy for kids to eat at. Parking is a bit expensive, and can be hard to come by, at times. A nice place to sit down and relax, opposite the sail boats.

D'albora Nelson Bay is just a fantastic marina. Not only is it in one of the most beautiful harbours you'd ever want to visit, it has great cafes and restaurants, a good workshop, lift, excellent facilities and very friendly staff.
I had a longer than expected stop due to mechanical issues, and the place quickly felt like home. It was actually a pleasure to be laid up here

The marina has a nice mix of shops, restaurants and is pleasantly located. Also some cool activities like giant chess.
I would have rated much more highly but I am grumpy about the fish feeding. We saw this a few years ago. It seemed to have stopped on our visit a year ago. We (well, my daughter) were very excited to see signs saying it was back at 10.30 daily. We turned up at 10.29 one day, to see the final scraps of fish thrown in and the feeder walk away as we arrived. The next day, there was just no show. I mean it's free and all, but hard to get your kids excited about an activity only for it to not run as advertised.

Parking available on Laman Street. You can then walk through the park and get to the shops and restaurants. There are bench’s and tables between the west and east buildings. If you go with your friends, and can’t choose which restaurant works for everyone, you can just choose to picnic and everyone can get take away from wherever they want. There are shades and toilets nearby.

Gan Gan Lookout is a popular viewpoint that provides wide-ranging vistas of Nelson Bay and its surroundings. It can be accessed by car, and the lookout points are conveniently located just 10 meters from where you park. The views from this prominent location are stunning, making it a great spot to take in the beauty of Port Stephens.
View from the top. Nelson bay and Anna bay coastal line view. Let you immerse you in the thought of how beautiful your mother nature is.
Two look outs one on the top of the hill other one being just on the side of the carpark.
Views are great in itself no need to pay for those coin operated binoculars.
Not too many parking spots. Drive carefully as road is narrow.

Lovely views from both viewpoints of the north and south. The north side is especially beautiful.
Only downside is the small car park, given how popular it is. Can be a bit hectic when busy!
Andrew Bell — Google review
Nice lookout for getting a good view of most of Port Stephens, but something we'll probably skip next time. We went there on an Easter Weekend and parking was just too problematic. I hope there would be like an overflow parking before the steep and narrow parts of the drive uphill. Just to give an option to those who are willing to go for a longer walk.

Drive up Lily Hill Road to a small car park underneath the radio transmission tower and walk up a small safe concrete path (slightly upslope) to Gan Gan Hill Lookout.
S C — Google review
There are some very pretty views to be had here, provided you continue to the top and don't stop after the view by the car park like we almost did! But bear in mind that the viewing area is quite small, as is the car park. Also there's some kind of power station jammed in the middle of the place which certainly harms the aesthetics.

Fantastic lookout you just have to visit. You can see for miles down towards Newcastle. There are 2 viewing platforms so make sure you see both. Most people only look from one not realising there is another one the other side of the phone towers. Both offer the best views. Only a short drive up the mountain

This place will definitely blow your mind with serenity at it's best. You'll get to see desert, mountain, sea, river and greenery at the same time from here. It's one of the best places as well to watch sunset. Love this place. No matter how many times I visit this place, everytime it offers a relaxing environment.

A must visit, offers breathtaking bird view of Port Stephens. Limited parking at the end of the driveway (Bay FM towers). The drive, be careful and slow driving uphill/downhill due to limited paved surface and hairpin blind spot. Lily hill lookout is just on the other side of the parking lot, don’t be fooled by map ;-)

Suitable drive for vehicles only not caravans or motorhomes.
A short walk to the 2 viewing areas provide beautiful views.

If you want to take sunset photos, this place is amazing. I arrived there at 5.10pm and walked though the small pathway next to electricity towers to the lookout. (There are two lookout points, the one at the parking area can not see sunset, has to walk though the small path. Don't get confused) :)
Oakvale Wildlife Park is a 25-acre attraction that offers an array of fun activities for all ages. Visitors can interact with animals such as kangaroos and koalas by feeding them. Apart from the wildlife, there are other adventures to explore like tractor rides, reptiles, and birds. Additionally, the water play area is perfect for cooling down on hot days with its big splash bucket suitable for everyone. The park is well-maintained with plenty of green grass and not too dusty.
One of the best places to visit if your in Port Stephens or on your way out as a day trip. It works out perfectly if your check out is 10am as the shows start around 10:45am so plenty of time to make it. The grounds are well looked after and the animals look well cared for. Grab a feed bag or two as this will give you more up close and personal attention from the baby farm animals that roam the park and the kangaroos. There is a couple of camels too, which are very friendly. The splash park is an awesome addition to the park. A great place to cool off after walking around and the kids didn’t want to leave. There is a cafe for snacks and sandwiches but they have no problem with you bringing in a packed lunch. Great value for the day and definitely something we would like to experience again. We were here in February just after the school holidays and the crowds just right. Great park, great staff great experience!! They also accept discover vouchers which is a bonus 👍🏽

Pretty good fun for the family. Plenty of things to do and adventures for all ages, reptiles, tractor rides, birds and kangaroos. It gets quite warm on hot days with only a few shaded areas. To top the afternoon off and cool down they have a great water play area with big splash bucket suitable for all ages.

This us a really wonderful place to visit for anyone but particularly for families. It just keeps growing and adding new features like the water play area. Was impressed to see the new paths which made for a nice walk around the path. The interaction with the animals is a key feature for enjoyment.

Friendly and informative staff, we went on a weekday so it wasn’t too busy or crowded. It’s a medium sized park so there isn’t too much walking to do but there is still plenty of animals to say hello to. The staff seems passionate about the animals and they seem very well taken care of. We even got to hop on the last tractor ride of the day that takes you around the park and the lady who drove the tractor gave plenty of information and facts about the animals as we drove by. You can feed the animals and purchase food for them $2 a bag which is plenty!

It’s a great weekend gateway for the whole family. The best part is kids love to feed animals with their hands and touch them as well. And there is a compact splash 💦 pad for kids. If you forget to bring your own costume, you can buy it from there to instead shop.
Price wise is also reasonable -
Adult- $37
Kids- $21

Loved this place , absolutely fascinating. I never knew I could have Soo much fun with animals and get all up close and personal with them. I could feed the baby lambs and goats and baby cows and Fully Grown Camels 🐪🐪🐪. There were plenty of wild ducks, wallabys and kangaroos who weren't afraid of humans and were happy to be fed and petted. I also milked the cow and it was amazing. The highlight would probably be the tractor ride which I recommend everyone to do at the start of their trip as it gives a full view of the park and what it has to offer. There were also koalas, snakes, alligators, lizards and all you'd expect Australian fauna to offer. My favourite animal was the CAMEL. They are such confident and dominating creatures who are 100% sure that humans will feed them.

Well done to all their team 👏

Oakvale Farm is a delightful blend of wildlife sanctuary and children's park. Beyond the interactive experience of patting and feeding animals, the park features diverse play zones, including a water park tailored for kids. Their on-site restaurant offers a variety of both cold and hot dishes, from sandwiches to burgers, all complemented by coffee brewed from Red Parrot Coffee Beans.
An engaging tractor ride offers a cruisy tour around the park. A standout attraction for me was the Southern Cassowary—a truly captivating and unique bird. With ample free parking available, anticipate spending more time here than initially planned. It's an experience both kids and parents are sure to cherish.

Great day out. We drove up from Gosford and it was worth the drive. Staff were all very nice and friendly. The cafe food was reasonably priced. My kids loved bottle feeding the goats. Animals had plenty of space to roam, and seemed happy enough. My kids absolutely loved the splash pad and was great on a 32 degree day. Tractor ride was great. Would definitely recommend. Only downside was some enclosures (koala) etc, had high fences but no little steps or viewing windows for little kids to see them. Apart from that, had a fabulous day and will be coming back for sure.

Too expensive for what it is. This is more like a animal farm than wildlife park. The kids will enjoy the interaction with the farm animals and feeding the lambs. We felt the lamb were left hungry to make sure they come to the people at feeding time. The animals seems to be quite used to interacting with people, so they are pretty safe for the kids to interact with. Overall, not the best value for your buck.

This place is god damn good. There are lot of animals, especially free Kangaroos that you could feed up. The staff are super polite and very friendly. Kids also enjoy the water games here. We absolutely adored this place!
Super easy to get to and plenty of parking. The park itself is well looked after and has plenty of different animals to see and feed. It was really nice to have the experience of feeding larger animals and getting up close to them. They are all very well looked after and have spacious enclosures. We really enjoyed the croc talk and feed time, super interesting to see them in action and learn about different animals.
I would absolutely go back again!
Located in the RAAF Base Fighterworld, this museum provides a hands-on experience with some of Australia's most famous fighter jets. The museum also includes a Spitfire replica and Hawker Hunter jet.
We went to fighter world and met some of the most passionate people working there. The exhibits are well maintained and allowed to be viewed close up. We also got very very lucky at 11am where the F35 did an airshow

Excellent displays of Australian fighter jet heritage, including the F-111, F/A-18, Mirage, Meteor and Vampire. The detailed information about aircraft, weapons and systems, including radars, engines and ejection seats go far beyond other static displays, making Fighter World really interesting from a technical perspective. Just don't expect to see an F-35 there (yet)!

Very affordable family activity. Prices in the gift shop also seemed reasonable. It was cool to see some military aviation history from Australia up close and the kids had fun climbing in the cockpits they have on display. We were lucky whilst there the F-35's were training and got a great view from the viewing platform, seeing them land and taxi around.

A great place for anyone that likes aviation or history. It's exactly what it says it is, jets in a hangar. If you go expecting more than that's on you. It's more about soaking up the history than flashy things to do. Has a cafe for a bite to eat and if you're lucky and time it well, can see the planes at the RAAF take off/land. Walked in and my favourite right there. F111. Great aircraft displays from generations of Australian air power. Really helpful volunteer guides. Best on runway action I've ever seen with 14 F35's and 4 trainer jets all lining up and taking off in spectacular fashion. 1 was a US Marine F35 demonstrating folding wings. Interlaced with commercial aircraft movements. Great value for family ticket. Highly recommend.

Veteran legends work in the museum
At the fighter plane museum, I was greeted by a gentlemen upon entry and later on learnt that he is a Air Force veteran that lived a legendary life just like ‘Top Gun’. If you ask, he has fascinating stories to share about his Air Force days. I could spend all day listening to him talk about him serving the Vietnam War, his role as a flight instructor, the friends he lost in action, and all things related to the planes. The people working in the museum are extremely knowledgeable and respectable. They are the real treasure here.

Fighter world is a fantastic place to bring the kids as well as any aircraft history buffs. It sports a select range of aircraft significant to the RAAF's history including the controversial F111 and model of the CAC Boomerang, important vehicles some other museums try and sweep under the rug.

Fighter World has some absolute legends of the RAAF - highlights are the F-111, F/A-18, Sabre and Mirage. Was great to see the weapons systems outside the Mirage and F/A-18 so you could see how it worked and was maintained. I appreciate seeing interiors components on display as reference for making models. We visited Fighter World during the 2023 air base open day, so the photos I've shared are probably a bit busier than usual!

Fantastic museum with great staff, great little cafe and the opportunity to chat with an ex-fighter pilot was an amazing experience. Also brilliant to have an almost constant air show going on outside with F35’s taking off and landing right in front of the observation deck. The day we were there, they had just unpacked a very impressive F35 flight simulator and were getting it ready for public use. A huge thumbs up for this fascinating display.

Beautiful and historic places by the Newcastle coast. Well kept and maintained by the veterans and gives us a nice peep into the history of the area and the fort's significance in maintaining security. The highlight is the cannon firing at the stroke of 1 pm.

I recently visited Fort Scratchley in Newcastle and it definitely did not disappoint. It's a fantastic place to explore and learn about Australia's rich military history. The museum was very impressive, with lots of interesting exhibits and photographs of the past. The fort itself was fascinating to explore, with its turrets, fixed defences and artillery pieces from the 1880s era. It was an educational and enjoyable experience, and I would highly recommend visiting Fort Scratchley to anyone with an interest in Australian military history.

What an absolutely amazing historic place! Must see when in Newcastle! Free to enter the grounds and walk around self-guided but I highly recommend the Tunnels Tour. Around $10 for just over an hour tour. You go down and explore the gun tunnels up to 8m under the ground. It is fairly flat walking but it's a solid hour with really no seating so keep in mind your walking/standing ability. There was a lady with a walking stick and she managed. Also highly recommend being there for 1pm cannon clock firing. I would allow an easy 2.5hrs+ to explore and tour.

A wonderful historic site filled with local history. You can either take a free self guided tour or pay for the tunnel tour like we did and be taken underground by a friendly and knowledgeable guide who will talk about the guns on the site as well as share first hand experience of life at the time. A must for any local and a perfect activity for any tourist. It's easily accessible too from the Light Rail or there is ample onsite parking.

Wonderfully looked after by a dedicated historical society. Tours run several times a day in a set timetable. They go for 60-90 minutes. The chap who took us through was very knowledgeable and made the experience very pleasant and interesting, would highly recommend the tour. The cannon firing is most days at 1pm except when the weather stops them.
Entry is free to the fort and all the display rooms and bits and pieces. To see in the tunnels inside the fort is paid, not all that expensive. A fellow who was in the military had the tour for free as far as I can tell so if you are a service person they must let you in for free.
While there are toilets on site, once you are on the tour you are toilet less for the duration
Although I'm sure they would let you out if you asked

Fort Scratchley shares a fantastic wealth of historic treasures! We did the tour with Wayne and he was brilliant, extremely knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. We got to see the 1pm gun firing, which was very cool! Watching the gun firing is free and the tour is cheap, no need to buy tickets online, but maybe check the tour times. We paid for the tour on the day of and we already knew the time so there was no wait at all! We will definitely be back on one of the dates where they fire more guns. There are heaps of displays and some really unique stuff in the store. All of the staff were super nice, making jokes and just seemed to be really fun people. The views of the surrounding areas and ocean are beautiful too. The fort is awesome and the people make it fun! Highly recommend!!

This Fort is well worth a visit when travelling to Newcastle. There is an underground tour the takes about an hour. The tour concentrates on the armaments and guns that would have been used in the event of enemy attack. None of the guns had ever been used in anger or in difference. The fortification took 18 months to compete. A very big Job with not a lot of machinery available. Be aware that this venue is opened at 10..00am and closes at 04.00pm.
The views from the top are awesome!!!!!

Brilliant, although you used to be able to wonder through the tunnels on your own, but now you have to pay for a tour.. Although the tour was informative and fun, so I don't regret that at all..
Also, you can no longer walk through the trenches above ground.. Which is a shame.

A brilliant way to spend the morning in Newcastle. We visited with 3 kids aged between 6 and 14 and they were all totally enthralled. I would highly recommend the tour of the tunnels and the fort which goes for about 90 minutes. There are also parts of the fort that you can explore by yourself. Make sure to be there at 1pm for the firing of the cannon. The gift shop has some nifty little gifts and memorabilia.

This spot is definitely a highlight. I was greeted by an older gentleman who has worked there for 31 years. He explained everything to me in detail. I was very grateful for his meet and greet and enjoyed this beautiful place afterwards! A must do in Newcastle. Also for whale and dolphin watching.

One of the best historical attractions in the country 1 pm the fire the gun for the harbour based ships to sink time. Volunteers are just so helpful. The grounds are perfect views spectacular and the history is just so well preserved. The shop is limited though not many souvenirs and no warm food not even a pie. But the place it self makes up for that. A most visit and a credit to the people of Newcastle. Well done the volunteers.

I had been wanting to visit Fort Scratchley, I finally did and had an amazing time there. The place has great views, military uniform displays, weapon displays and a great spot to whale watch.
The spot next to the guns gives you almost a 360 view of the city as well as of the lighthouse, nobby's beach and the Newcastle beach.
Place is free to visit, no tickets required. Although the tour of the underground tunnels would require a ticket.
There are toilets available as well.
There is free parking available. The guards are also very accommodating and helpful.

Lovely place with free entrance, great view over the ocean with the chance of spotting some whales.
Also a great view over the beach.
The Fort itself is well maintained, informative display of the history of the area in WWII and the event of firing on a Japanese submarine.
It also has a souvenir shop where you can buy... well... some souvenirs ;-)

Historical part of Newcastle History and well looked after in the hands of the passionate volunteers. The ability to walk the grounds by tour or solo and have an underground tunnel tour means the new generations will come to appreciate the significance of this site. Cold drinks available at the kiosk.
The views of the Harbour are worth the hill climb. Limited parking on site.

I went up on ANZAC day and they did the cannon shooting during the day.
It was a very interesting and if you like history, then be sure to go inside the tunnels.
There's also great panaromic views of Nobby's Beach and views. Definitely a must see attraction when you're up here.

Build in the early 1880s to protect the industrial port of the city soon it became one important defense structure throughout the upcoming major world conflicts like World War II. The entrance is free. You will get to know the history of the Fort by visiting 6 rooms which will take you on a journey from pre- European times to the current day. There are guided tours to the tunnels and you can purchased the tickets at the gift shop. Every day at 1 pm you will get to see a World War I canon being fired. Breathtaking views of the city. Toilets , food and beverage available at the place. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Took the tunnels tour, Ross was very informative and polite. We turned up just as the tour was going to start at 11:30am and then in time for the firing of the mini cannon demonstration at 1pm.
Great stop, even if you do not take the tour. The view from the top is great, overlooking the beach.
Parking is limited, may have to park further by the beach and walk up, toilets available.

Lovely place to visit. Free entry. Great display items.
We took the tunnel tour, which was only $13.50 per adult. I highly recommend doing this. Our tour guide was lovely and so informative.
Also, amazing views and whale watching spot.
Regards to the volunteers who keep it going for people to see.

I love this place where I learnt more about the purpose of this fort, the war that occurred etc.
One can view the lovely beach and the light house on top of the area. There is so much meaningful history that you can learn from this place. Awesome place to visit with the whole family.
The different rooms are great to venture into and discover more.
Truly an enjoyable visit!

Very well done and informative. Tunnels tour was worth it, Wayne was a great tour guide. They also fire the gun at 1pm everyday.
The Newcastle Memorial Walk is a pathway that overlooks the cliffs of Strzelecki Headland with amazing views of the ocean. The pathway is made up of steel sculptures that commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Australian soldiers who fought in World War I.
Nice view from the elevated path. Spectacular view of the sea, beach, city. If you get a chance check the rain approaching over the sea.

The only down side and not advertised is that there are stairs after about 450 Meters of starting and prams cannot go beyond that.
A big disappointment but never the less beautiful walk.

Amazing views.
Shepherds Hill cottage sits on top of the hill with historical battlement lookout perched on edge of cliff.
Parking out front if coming by car and apparently close to start of Memorial Walk which I will do for another day.
Sadly graffiti on the outpost stops this pristine site from being 5 star.

I had the privilege of visiting the "New Castle Memorial Walk" in NSW, Australia, and it left a profound impression. The breathtaking coastal views from this soaring bridge were absolutely captivating, providing a poignant backdrop to the memorial's significance. The walk itself is a testament to the region's rich history and the sacrifices of those who served. The well-maintained pathway, informative plaques, and serene ambiance made it a moving and educational experience. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of natural beauty, history, and reflection, and it stands as a poignant tribute to the past.

Nice walk with photos and information on the Anzac memorial. I did the entire coastal walk from Nobbys Lighthouse down to Merewether beach - most of the walk has fantastic views, similar to most other coastal walks on the NSW coast. Highly recommend this walk.

Newcastle Memorial Walk is a poignant journey that seamlessly weaves together natural beauty and historical reflection. As you ascend the elevated path along the coastline, the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean unfold, creating a serene backdrop that complements the solemn purpose of the walk.
The memorial plaques that line the pathway serve as poignant reminders of the sacrifices made by Australian soldiers in various conflicts. Each plaque tells a unique story, contributing to the collective narrative of bravery and commitment to duty. The juxtaposition of the serene coastal landscape with the weight of history creates a contemplative atmosphere, inviting visitors to reflect on the profound impact of war.
The architectural design of the walk is not only functional but also harmonizes with the rugged coastal environment. It's a thoughtful integration that enhances the overall experience, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in both nature and history. Sunset transforms the scene, casting a warm glow on the ocean and adding an extra layer of beauty to this already significant memorial.
Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll, a connection to history, or simply a moment of reflection, the Newcastle Memorial Walk offers a multifaceted experience that resonates with locals and visitors alike. It stands as a living tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, set against the backdrop of Newcastle's stunning coastal vistas.

Beautiful and respectful walk. Bonus was seeing a pod of dolphins. Heaps for parking at the bottom end but you need to climb quite a few stairs. Park at the top end and you go do the majority of the walk and best views without any steps making it accessible. Downside is limited parking close by but there are two disabled parks.
Guided tours, festivals & a cafe at a storied penitentiary that operated from 1848 to 1998.
Visited Maitland Gaol at around midday on a Sunday. Parking easily out the front. Self guided and guided tours also available. We decided on the self guided tour which was $19 for an adult. Estimated to take around 90 minutes (however it is at your own pace so you may be a little quicker or slower) it took us around 2 hours. There is a phone application you can download which gives you history and information on each point of interest with there being around 24 in total. Overall a great experience and definitely worthwhile making a trip for.

Pretty interesting place to visit. You can use your NSW Discover voucher. The self guided experience is good, you do it on your phone after downloading an app. I enjoyed the visit, but I wish they made the direction of the tour clearer, as I got confused on several occasions. Signposting of the tour direction needs to improve, but this place is certainly worth a visit if you are in Maitland.

This was a mix between serious ghost hunt and theatrical horror house.
The atmosphere at night is amazingly solemn and creepy.
We were told some interesting history on the tour. I wish I had done a little more research into the history before the tour so that I could have put myself into the experience more.

Great location to visit.
Did a self guided audio tour that can be completed with an app on your phone to do it at your own pace, so much to explore.
Went with a small child and there was enough to keep her entertained for the time we were there.
I would like to see in the future more stories of inmates and general history around on posters like in the chapel.
Ample bathroom facilities throughout, if you are sensitive to mould perhaps bring a mask as it is a little bit mouldy (to be expected in a 150 year old historical building)

We really enjoyed our visit to the gaol and would go back again but take the kids. I came here years ago to watch a prison movie in the exercise yard but only just recently did a self guided tour. It is done through an app which is easy to navigate, but make sure you bring some earphones. Not sure what those without a smart phone would use if they don't do a guided tour. I would love to go back to do a ghost/night tour. Very cold so make sure to rug up in winter.

After living in the city now for 30 years and passing this historic treasure SO many times, I have finally had a tour. I enjoyed it. Although only a partial tour with many more available, to see the conditions prisoners had to endure, and contributions to Australian and local history is amazing. Local or not, a visit is essential. It is well maintained and operated by our council and friendly and knowledgeable staff

Good old country jail, worth a weekend visit. I took the self guided audio tour, which took me around 2.5 hours to visit all the exhibit areas, listen to all the accompanying tracks and really immerse myself in the whole thing. The entire place is very well maintained and was not too crowded, though a pair of headphones is recommended. While there, I saw one of the guided tours where the tour guide was animatedly explaining the history behind one of the exhibits; I liked her passionate presentation and will definitely book myself in on one of those tours for the next visit. Parking was not an issue and the town itself had quite a few dining options, so overall it was a good day out for the family. The only thing that can be improved a bit is the map they provided for the self guided tour. Even though all the exhibit areas were well marked, following the route sequentially based on the map was pretty challenging, at least to me on my first visit.

MRAG is one of my favourite galleries to visit, and not merely because it's so close to home.
The calibre of exhibition is consistently high, and showcases local and national artists, and the space itself is wonderfully inviting. The knitting of old and new architecture works really well.
The gift shop has plenty to offer, and the cafe, Seraphine's is a great place to replenish and muse.
I love that there are interactive elements that make art, and the gallery experience so much fun for kids. My children, now grown, often return to this family and creative space.

The Blackbutt Nature Reserve is a 182 hectare reserve in the suburbs of Newcastle, Australia that features walking trails, playgrounds and picnic shelters with free electric barbecues. The main attraction at the reserve are the animals living there, including koalas, emus, wallabies, wombats and peacocks. The boardwalks make it easy to take kids on walks around the enclosures and see these animals up close.
We’re big native animal fans and this is a great, free park with great access to native animals. There’s paid parking but access to the park is free.
We loved the emus, wombats, kangaroos and bird exhibits. The staff are friendly and there’s a great picnic and grass area with barbecues and play equipment to bring the family. We spent about an hour there and would recommend it to anyone in or visiting Newcastle.

No entry fee, car park $8 for 2 hours. Absolutely loved it, it wasn't too busy being a week day and we took our time in every single enclosure. Animals seem very well looked after. We were pleasantly surprised to find a free native wildlife display. The birds were amazing and were so close. The peacocks were particularly enjoyable. We've never seen such big ones! They were not afraid to come quite close to us and put on a lovely display of their feathers. We wished we could have gone on a longer walk as they looked good but my father was not feeling well. They have very good toilet facilities, the kiosk was open until 3pm and the lady who runs it I'd very friendly. Would love to go back

Good place to take the whole family with play ground, walking trails, electric barbecues, park benches and tables, paid under cover shelter and even a kiosk (closed when we visited on a Tuesday). Nicely maintained and kept clean. Entry is free but there are parking metres out in the parking lot with minum fee of $5. There's a duck pond located just after the well maintained lawn near the entrance with peacocks and wild turkeys roaming the grounds even out in the car park area. In the enclosed animal enclosures there are wallabies, kangaroos and emus.

The last time I had been here was close to a decade ago. The amount of effort put in to upgrade the facilities and cleanup the water quality in the main pond is phenomenal. What a huge and wonderful place for family barbecues and picnics and areas to play.
The animal enclosure was such a surprise...
Sadly, we were let down by the absence and clarity of signage for walking. We would come to the t junction and sign showing 2 directions not 3 and placed in a funny spot.
We have hiked many parks and we were dismayed to get lost at this one and walked right outside onto the main road to get back to our car.

Came across this wonderful reserve today and so glad we did. It's beautifully maintained, with many walking tracks, sheltered seating areas, alongside BBQ areas, clean restrooms & various shelters that you can book in advance. The well constructed walkways take you amongst the trees, where you can see an amazing variety of animals. At the pond, we stopped and were thrilled to see many tortoises, trying to camouflage themselves amongst the underwater habitat. There is also a well constructed playground with lots of tactile activities for the kids.

A wonderful place to visit. Beautiful scenery, wildlife and overall facilities. The only issue is paid parking which at $4 an hour is pretty pricey. As well as that the meters don't work. So unless you're prepared to put another app on your phone, it's a problem. Ok so I'm a Little bit tainted because when our kids were young it was always free to come here and I have many happy memories from those years. Difficult for people struggling with the current cost of living issues to now bring kids out for some fun and adventure in the bush when Newcastle Council is money grabbing with metered parking.

The Hunter Valley Wildlife Park has a large zoo with different types of animals and family-friendly activities like feeding kangaroos. Children aged 10 years or older can take part in animal encounters and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The best interactive zoo experience! My daughter had a great time feeding many animals. The place isn't that big and not so many animals but the interaction with animals make it a unique and memorable experience for kiddos. There are also animal encounters which is separately paid from the general admission tickets if you are willing to pay more and for a more personal encounter with animals.

I had a great time at the Hunter Valley Wildlife Park! The animal exhibits were well-maintained and the animals looked healthy and well-cared for, so many babies. There was a good variety of species, including some that I was really interested in seeing.
I also appreciated the educational value of the visit. The friendly staff were knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions I had. There were also some extra features like a petting zoo, highly recommend the Meerkat experience and interactive exhibits that were really fun.
The Wildlife Park was clean and well-maintained, which really added to the overall experience. I also thought the cost of admission was reasonable given the quality of the visit. Shout out to the wonderful cafe staff and the ladies maintaining the BBQ area
Overall, I would highly recommend this Wildlife Park to others. It was a fun and educational experience that I'm sure anyone would enjoy.

Very good selection of animals for the price. The park has three types of interactive animals that you can feed when purchasing a feed bag from the counter (we got two large bags for $13). You can feed camels, ostriches, farm animals, kangaroos, and lorikeets. I thought the park was good value and very entertaining.

One of the best zoos i've been to. I really appreciate the low glass windows which allow my toddler to easily see and fully experience the zoo. They might not have all the big animals, but they have options to pet and feed some of them.
Parking is sufficient but outside. Best to make sure you don't go there on a rainy day.

Loved my time here!!! We went and didn't expect it to be all that much, but we were wrong!!! It was a very laid bad place which we loved. A lot of interactions with the animals, way more than I expected. The park is small, but we still managed to spend the better part of the day here l, bouncing between habitats and watching the animals.

Recent trip midweek with family to occupy kids home from school (industrial action). Extremely enjoyable family experience, really relaxed, no rush, hustle or queue! Truly lovely customer service (extra helpful with discovery vouchers), site easy to navigate, little map for kids to collect stamps, small outdoor cafe offering light lunch /refreshments. Lots of fabulous animals to observe and love to book an animal encounter on our next trip, can’t wait til there’s one for Giraffes. Can easily make this a half day visit.

Absolutely wonderful wildlife park to visit. It’s obvious that the animals residing this park are stress-free and well taken care of. Such a positive, refreshing energy for both the animals and people visiting. Very cool intimate feeding experience available also.

Wonderful wildlife park with a real good mix of native species but also family favourites as well.
Kids will particularly love getting close to even feeding the likes of camels, emus, kangaroos and many other animals. There's also the lure of the lions, crocodiles, cheetahs as well.
It's not terribly big but as a small outing it's a warm and feel good environment and really easy to get around. Take some food though as prices within the wildlife park are not exactly cheap so be prepared to shell out a little if you're travelling as a family of group and aren't prepared.
Parking is literally outside. Highly recommend for families with little ones wanting an up close experience.

There are a lot of animals to see, well cared for. Sad to see some animals that are not solitary by nature, red tailed black cockatoo. Quite a few albino kangaroos, obviously bred in captivity, but in a safe haven. Suggest not going on 30+ degree days. The meerkats were adorable, but a couple was having a private paid moment with them, so I left and didn't take photos, gave them their privacy. It is great to feed animals for smallish children, very friendly enclosure. Alligators were awesome. They have informative sessions where you learn about the animals. If you belong to NRMA you can get a discount if you book in advance.

Interactive and friendly zoo
It was a pleasant surprise to see so many animals which could be easily spotted. The experience was amazing for kids and families in the mid of Hunter valley. The zoo is small but covers a lot of animals for kids to enjoy without getting tired. Also kids can touch and pet pet the friendly animals.

Spent a great 4 hours here with 11 and 13 yr old. Fed the giraffes for $25 which was awesome. Could also feed lots of other animals with the $13 animal feed. Small, family friendly, and fun. Plenty of seating spaces and even BBQs for patrons to use.

We went here on the weekend in july. Parking wasnt to hard as people were leaving when we got there due to a very windy day. Although it was 11am when we were walking in. They have a very good erray of animals for a smaller zoo. Easy pathways around to push a pram if you have a baby. Areas to sit to have a bite to eat if you choose to pack your own lunch. They do have a van to grab a coffee or something to eat. We spent 3 hours there considering the windy weather made it not so nice day. But we did enjoy the animals. They do have a souvenir shop on your way out. They also have a petting farm section for kids to get up close to the animals to feed them.

It's a great mini zoo for the kids. Impressed how spotless all the enclosures are, staff are really friendly and there are lots of options for animal adventures, if you are so inclined. We visit lots of zoo's, but there were a few animals that we hadn't seen before, like the bintarang, and wolves. Very interactive experience....who doesn't like patting a kangaroo?

Plenty to see at this park and you can get up close and feed some of the animals too. It's quite compact so no long walks. Definitely worth a visit.

What a fantastic time we had here. You get to collect the stamps around the park and there are talks about the animals the kids loved feeding the camel. And love that he food is in a ice-cream cone made it easier for the kids to feed the ostrich. Really great day out.

This wild park well maintained and animal cared so meticulously. Also park employees are super friendly and helpful. They do great job over there. The paramount anecdotes is that park absolutely make you feel thrilled. If you’re visiting to Newcastle.! You shouldn't have missed that place for visit :) Huge thanks to Hunter Valley Park workers.! I do really appreciate to you guys to providing us such a great experience and knowledge about the animals. You guys are absolutely rock.!

Love this zoo! Have been many times and will keep coming back. Large animal enclosures for a large variety of animals. Perfect size to easily view all the animals without it being too overwhelming or tiring. Accessible and family friendly. Informative staff. Highly recommended.

Great park to bring young kids. My 2 yr old had the time of his life running behind goats and patting the deer. He even tried to stroke a parakeet that was busy eating the cone (rather than the feed inside. You can buy this at the entrance) but the bird just warned him with his beak and went back to nibbling the cone.
Most fun part for adults was trying to feed the Ostrich, who loves the cone and eats it with a snap.
We fed the camels as well and that was fun too.
There arent many animals and feefing the animals seems to be the main attraction. By the time we reached the Kangaroos they were well fed and napping.

Highly recommended if you want to see kangaroos and kuala. You can buy food for the animals and even interact with them. Loved the kangaroos, they are so calm and loved to be pet!

Nice park. We went a bit after 12 and unlucky for us most animals were sleeping. Also unfortunately their sign at the entrance said we could hold a Koala but when purchasing our ticket we were told it’s not done in NSW. However overall I believe kids would enjoy the park.
Peterson House is a Hunter Valley winery that offers an incredible selection of sparkling wines. The property also features a restaurant and wedding venue.
We were in the area specifically looking at wedding venues and popped into the Peterson House restaurant. Delicious food, well presented and excellent service. There was abit of a wait for the main courses due to a mix-up which was acknowledged by the service team ( always a good point when restaurants own up to a mistake) and rectified by way of complimentary desserts. Thank you for a superb luncheon, and anytime we are in the neighbourhood, we'll be popping in again.

Beautiful restaurant and great tastings for sparing wines. Love their merchandise too.
Many gluten free options. I loved they had the Tasting option so you could have a bit of 4 main meal options, perfect for indecisive people 😝

The most perfect wedding venue! We got married here in October in the Chapel & enjoyed our reception in the marquee! The venue and staff is just absolutely perfect! They helped in setting up all our decor exactly how we wanted it and ensured it was all run so smoothly. They were so easy to work with from Enquiry, to booking, all the way up until the big day which helped take a lot of stress off.
It was such a hot day on our wedding, but it wasn’t a worry as there’s air conditioning in both the chapel & marquee so it didn’t even affect our day or guests at all!
We knew straight away this is where we wanted to get married & so glad that we did!

Emailed these guys night before for a Tuesday morning booking for 7 in December and they rang next day (early) to confirm booking- now that's service! Honestly did not expect a reply. Food was tasty, well cooked. Restaurant was spacious and had great views of their vineyard. Kids were given colouring sheets and pencils. Service friendly and efficient!

Excellent position with ample parking and wine grape garden. Professional & helpful waiter / waitress. Best Pork Chop we've ever had ! Really beyond our expectations for a restaurant opening on 27th Dec 2022. Unfortunately, there was no wine tasting available on that day.

We were extremely lucky of the most beautiful day! Peterson house was really easy to work with and fast at replying to email. Like any venue there is certain rules and regulations to follow, but Peterson house was easy to get the list of the dos and dont’s.
Thankyou for allowing us to have the most perfect day at Peterson house. Cannot recommend the wedding staff that worked the day of our wedding enough, they were amazing

Nice winery at Hunter Valley, the country of wines. The wine tasting cost only 10 A$ and you choose 6 different wines, however they gave us 10 types to taste. Is a nice touch that are giving cheese, crackers and cold water.

Not only was the venue absolutely gorgeous, but Lucy, Haylee, Naomi and all the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our wedding was nothing short of perfection. They were professional, accommodating, and a joy to work with from start to finish. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the venue and the seamless flow of the event. Came here for breakfast, food was pretty good. Service is terrible. We tried the poppy seed bagel. 10/10, absolutely love it. The mushroom dish was packed with rich intense flavour, but lack of texture, I’d give it a 8/10. The lady that served us to our table didn’t bring us drinking water, yet when another 2 separate group of Australians came in (I guess), she served and pour them drinking water. For mine, I had to walk over to ask, and she came with a bottle of water and simply left it on our table. So, in short.. Unless you’re a local, skip this place.

Beautiful rustic venue 😍 this place is well known for its restaurant so we had high expectations. As you can see from my photos the presentation was 👏🏼 the flavours were also pretty good. Our service was great she was very patient and gave us water, etc. food was served super quick too. I didn’t really like the coffee sorry 🫣 the only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because we probably won’t be back. It was nice to try but the breakfast menu was a bit limited and as a millennial I’d like to see some avocado options 😉 it was also really busy (because it’s so popular) so it was LOUD and I was a bit hungover (lol) soo not ideal. In saying that though, despite how busy it was we were never left sitting there waiting for service or felt rushed to GTFO. 4.5/5

We had a great breakfast and morning here. Food was great. My only suggestion would be to either decrease the amount of food on the Bubbly breakfast or in crease it a little and make it a share plate with the option of 2 glasses of bubbly. Not a negative but really big portions. Thanks for a great experience and we will be back

Came here as a breakfast compliment for Balloon Aloft. Food was edible enough. Nothing special at all but I guess that’s because they had to cook in bulks considering the order they received for the day and the 3 menu options provided.

Big breakfast is ok. However, I saw some regular customers ordered bacon and eggs rolls which were more worth of money.
Chips were nice that children liked it most. Pies that I got in supermarkets were even better than there.
Cereal was good, not special.
Hamburger was good too, but I would rather order bacon and egg roll next time, if we visited next time.
Not suitable for kids, since they did not know Safe temperature of a babyccino. Babyccino is awful… it burned my daughter’s tongue.very disappointing! I asked for some ice and reported it to the manager. Manager wanted to offer me another babyccino… but we were not in the mood at that moment. Very disappointed experience.

So overall, It was kind of good, so the food was fine. Everything came out fast, hot and fresh. I enjoyed my nuggets. My partner enjoyed his fish and chips which was big serving. However, the atmosphere inside this cafe is so not the vibe it’s just so crowded. The chairs are back to back. I couldn’t sit comfortably as the person behind me kept on moving back-and-forth and then the chair was hitting my chair it was so uncomfortable service was super loud and I’ve asked for extra chicken salt on chips but however they didn’t informed they don’t have that they just never put any salt on the chips. It can be improved.

The cafe itself is quite endearing and menu provides all day breakfast and lunch.
The food and milkshakes were lovely, however, the café does lack evident, customer service skills. Our reserved table had dirty plates on it, which wasn’t cleared until we took it up to the register ourselves. The surrounding local stores added to the quaint atmosphere. The tavern next door also has quite an appealing menu to compete with.

Place has great food however there is no table service and this creates a lot of waiting in line to place you order especially at peak times. Tables are not cleared or cleaned regularly so you may find that you have to sit at a table already occupied with dirty dishes and spills.
I would recommend take away or delivery until table service is being offered

If you have any kind of food intolerances, skip this place. Everything we ordered was wrong. I ended up asking for a refund and when the manger came out to do it, they didn’t even make eye contact or say a word to me. It was so weird.
The only saving grace for my trip to the Milk Factory Cafe was that the staff at the other shops around were so lovely and accommodating. Check out the donuts and the yarn shop, but save yourself from going to the cafe.

Drove up from Sydney Good Friday to have lunch here. What a disappointment!! Had the Nachos. Worst nacho’s I’ve ever experienced. It was just boiled tasteless dry brisket on chips no bbq sauce to coat the chips, no salsa like stated in the “Chefs choice” menu. For $24 I’d expect a little effort, how much effort is needed for nachos. A little bit of melted cheese on the meat, nothing cheese or sauce to coat chips. This really was dry and disgusting. Where’s the salsa chef?

Fun afternoon. Positives. Friendly staff. Lots to see and do. The little animal and reptile shows were really well done, informative and fun. The cafe had good food (Japanese salad was next level). Negatives. Over priced. Train safari was fun but a let down because it was too fast and you couldn't get out to go closer to the Lions. Place was all muddy from the rain and needed more paths and gravel. The mazes were very lackluster.

I took my older grandson for our annual 'nanni day'. He is 8 years old. We had a fabulous time at the Exotic Reptile Encounter with Keeper Brock. He gave my grandson so much interesting information about the animals we saw.
The farm and fun park were really enjoyable - especially as we were not overcrowded.
The maze was so much fun, particularly as we both got lost in it!! 🤣🤣

We had vouchers left over from Covid that were kept at the front desk for us to use at a later date. The staff were extremely accommodating when we asked to use them almost a year and a half later as we forgot about them. We had a wonderful time. The park was well kept and spread out. This is a great little place to take young kids. There is plenty to do however its very much still a work in progress. They apparently have lots of plans for more exhibits. However, some of the ones they currently have are a little lacking.
The staff are all very friendly and always happy to chat and are knowledgeable about their animals.
Once they have all the zoo and exhibits set up, it will be well worthwhile.

My son and I had a wonderful day attending the breakfast with the koalas. We had one day booked and something outside of my control happened, and the staff even checked we were okay and did everything to make sure we could attend on another day. The day itself was great value, nice and peaceful being there before the park officially opened. A good variety of food for the breakfast, followed by an educational talk about the koalas, and then we could meet them and have a photo. Then, we had the rest of the day to enjoy the park which was included in the package price. We will return again. A lovely vibe, wonderful staff and a lovely place to be. Thank you Amazement Farm & Fun Park.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit with nilly 3 year old. Petting zoo, pony ride (additional $8), teacup ride & mini Ferris wheel were perfect for her age, the operator for the rides was absolutely lovely. We also did a koala photo which was an additional $15 & was adorable to pat the koala & take a picture, keepers were also really lovely. The lions, camels & ostrich are accessible on the train which was great fun. We also met a wombat & gigantic python in the keeper talks. Loved the play equipment, did the maze, all in all I really couldn’t believe this gem was so close to home. Highly recommend for a fun day out with little ones.

Breakfast with the Koalas, Amazement Farm and Fun Park
We chose this event to celebrate our (adult) daughter's birthday and attended as a group of 6. We were seated on the cafe balcony, overlooking the gorgeous park. A delicious buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice including fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, mini quiches, croissants, mini muffins and condiments was provided, and there was definitely plenty of lovely food. Tea, coffee, juice and water were also unlimited and good quality. Cafe staff were friendly and welcoming.
The baby koalas arrived with their keepers, who gave an informative talk about these gorgeous animals. We were then invited up to pat them and have unlimited photo opportunity and to talk with the keepers.
A very relaxed and enjoyable experience, which was generous in time and very educational. This experience is totally about education, conservation and animal welfare.
Once the experience was over, we were welcome to spend time exploring the park, attending informative talks and taking a train ride past the gorgeous lions, tortoise, deer and to feed the camels and emu’s. The butterfly house was a great experience - where else can you hold a butterfly or relive the memories of collecting silk worms as a kid!
I would thoroughly recommend this for all ages. This park is modern, clean and all the animals look well cared for and healthy. A really pleasant place to spend a day.

Worth the trip from Sydney! Always something to look at or something going on. The place is constantly improving with more plans underway. Train ride included in entry and if it's too full and needs another train ride, they sometimes bring an animal out for education while you wait. Grab a feed bag, so many animals to feed. A lot to learn with a wide range of animals to read about and watch.

Fantastic experience with the tree ropes course. The amenities have improved significantly since our last visit several years ago. Went twice this past month. Staff were excellent, great instruction and very helpful. Highly recommend going.

Great fun! Some mid. aged people managed the challenge. Some wobbly tree ladders to negotiate. My 15yo indoor rock climber, found it challenging enough.

We had an amazing time. The courses are all ages. You can choose and go at your own pace. Great for a bonding exercise too.

Jeremy is an absolute star and a credit to your company. My son has ASD and so climbing and balancing was really hard for him, but Jeremy was incredibly patient, kind and compassionate. He didn't rush my son or make him feel bad about holding the other kids up. Jeremy truly made this trip 100% worth it - if not for him, I don't think we would have had a good time at all what with my son's fear. Thanks to him, my son feels a million bucks and felt like he had faced and conquered a fear. That is priceless. 'As long as he leaves here with a smile on his face, nothing else matters,' said Jeremy. Well, both my sons certainly did, but what you did for my youngest will always matter to us all.

Great few courses. Completed the beginner, intermediate and advanced with a 9 year old. Give indications of reach heights per course which are worth noting. Staff were always around if you needed help with anything. Well run and worth booking and filling in waiver forms pre arrival.

Tree Top Adventure in the Central Coast is the one we visited for a family outing before my son is moving for a year to UK for his fellowship training. Though I was scared to go on the adventure, my husband went with my son and daughter-in- law, all 3 enjoyed the great fun. I was their photographer. Since it was the week day, we and one other family were there, so we thoroughly enjoyed the adventure, though we felt $59/person a bit pricey.

Great day out during the school holidays.
The staff were brilliant. Sophie at the desk was phenomenal from the moment we arrived to when we left. The girl who did our safety briefing (maybe Kirsty) was very friendly and helpful all day.
Also, the man with the beard behind the desk, I think his name was Paul, with the infectious laugh was non stop smiling all day. Where does he get the energy 😂
Courses were tough and our group of mixed fitness levels managed to complete them all. I personally wish some of the challenges would’ve been harder and the 200m flying fox was still there.
Great day out for the whole family and would thoroughly recommend for anyone in the Central Coast Region ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

An excellent day out for the whole family! Staff assist the kids and surprisingly, as young as three can learn how to navigate the climb. Highly recommended!

We loved the location in the Ourimbah State Forest ; the courses were challenging and fun and the staff were really friendly; we have enjoyed many of The Treetops locations, but this one stood out for us ; highly recommended!
