How long is the drive from Eden to Shoalhaven?
The direct drive from Eden to Shoalhaven is 205 mi (330 km), and should have a drive time of 4 hrs 51 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Eden to Shoalhaven, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like Davidson Whaling Station and Killer Whale Museum, or the ever-popular Beowa National Park.
The top stops along the way from Eden to Shoalhaven (with short detours) are Mogo Wildlife Park, Killer Whale Museum, and Hyams Beach. Other popular stops include Magic Mountain Merimbula, Bega Cheese Heritage Centre, and Cupitt's Estate.
Ben Boyd National Park is a vast coastal park situated in two distinct sections, north and south of Eden, spanning over 10,485 hectares. The park is named after entrepreneur Ben Boyd who attempted to build an empire around Eden but failed spectacularly in 1850. The park's striking coastline dotted with colorful cliffs and secluded beaches is protected within its boundaries where visitors can enjoy whale watching and observe plentiful bird and marsupial life.
Awesome park, fully booked out over the Australia Day weekend which was a bit annoying.
Really recommend the light to light walk. There’s a really nice campground about 5km from Boyds Tower.

Fantastic place to chill for drinks, pizza & oysters. Highly recommend a visit. We have already been twice during our 19 day holiday.

Nice easy walk past the red rocks amd on a little farther is a lively view to the water

We visited the Pambula section, it was really beautiful with lovely walks and wild coastline, and of course the Pinnacles. A very special part of Australia.

It is a great place to visit, we had a great time there. All places there are so beautiful, unfortunately we didn't see any whales there, it is still worth for a trip. We enjoyed hiking, sightseeing. The road to getting there quite rough, a lot of flies, be prepared.

Haycock point is a great place to scabble over rocks and look in rock pools , there were kangaroos in picnic area. Wear shoes , the slope down once you get to the bottom of the stairs is steep but looks worse than it is! Barmouth beach is a gorgeous cove , beautiful clear, calm water , amazing for a swim , stairs down to beach . Walk to pinnacles is lovely through the bush , either head down to beach ( quite a few stairs ) or track to view pinnacles , easy walk .

Pretty and peaceful walks with the essential emenities available.

Recommend to spend a full day here. Many small walking tracks & look outs - 10-20 mins return. Bring sunscreen, lots of water and snacks!

A truly wild and magnificent place, we camped at the Bittangabee Bay site for a few days and explored the surrounding areas. Awesome. You will not be disappointed by the scenery or the wildlife, including a couple of lyrebirds who frequent the campground and could often be seen scratching through the leaf litter.

Pinnacles loop walking track in Ben Boyd National Park
Visited on 13/3/2021
It was a beautiful sunny day. It was not very hot, just right for me who prefer cooler temperature. The track is 1.1 km which meanders through the woodland. The walk was pleasant and easy.
The highlight was the Pinnacles, which could be viewed from two lookout points. It is fascinating as well as spectacular.
The Pinnacles consist of cliffs of soft white sands capped with a layer of red gravel clay. They were formed during the Tertiary geological period – up to 65 million years ago.
Long drive up dirt road. You'll need a 4wd. Cannot get in. Just take photos outside. Walk up the beach and enjoy the beach all to yourself. Can picnic. Toilets available. Free admission.
Skandakumar Kumarasingam — Google review
Some very interesting history and good information is provided. Very little of the original structures remain. It is worth a look, but the ocean facing beaches in this area are more beautiful. The road in is currently only just passable for a 2WD.
Anthony Coward — Google review
Worth a visit, great information. Would also be very pretty on a sunny day
Katherine Cox — Google review
Very little still there of the historic Davidson Whaling Station, only 3-4 rusted metal tanks and some other metal pieces.
A couple of the original houses nearby and grounds near the bay (still in very good condition but unfortunately fenced off and can only be viewed from a
distance. Most likely so safety reasons.
Wendy Missen — Google review
Great site to visit. Easy access for vehicles and by foot. You don’t need a four wheel drive!!
Stunning views and great site information markers.
A worthwhile site to visit; you’ll not be disappointed!!
Dr Rovel Shackleford — Google review
Great historical site with amazing views out to sea and Ben Boyd National Park in the distance. Cliff edge is just beyond the overflow car Park end. Hang a right at the big tree stump with the roof on it. No fence of any sort. Long way down
Claudia Jordan — Google review
The highlight of the day was the amazing historic Davidson Whaling Station just across Twofold Bay on Kiah Inlet.
In the 1890s the Davidson family took to the seas, unbeleivably assisted by a pack of Orca killer whales to herd up larger whales and then slaughter and extract oil, as whale oil was a major source of illumination, lubrication and soap manufacture and helped drive the industrial revolution.
Yet, Kiah Inlet was a magical serene place, with bellbirds calling out which we just loved
Colin Slark — Google review
Great interpretative boards throughout the old Davidson house and at the whaling works on the shore, and a friendly national parks and wildlife officer who made us welcome. Not far from the Boyd Tower, but 8 or so km of good unsealed road to get there.
David Farmer (austega) — Google review
This was a beautiful area to explore with some interesting history presented on the information boards, and remnants left from the whaling station towards the waters edge. Wonderfully quiet with some great points of interest on the track down to the bottom. A relatively flat walk with a marked path, with dogs being allowed with you on leash.
Kerbray — Google review
Omg so much history and information to see and read a well worth stop
Dell Humphries — Google review
Excellent piece of history. Thoroughly enjoyed learning the whaling story in this area. Gorgeous location. Beautiful shells on the beaches close by. Definitely recommend a visit here.
Jessica Ryan — Google review
Beautiful place, off the beaten track but accessible in a 2wd down a well maintained dirt road.
Clare Barrett — Google review
Lovely historic homestead and revenants of the old whaling station.
Whilst you can’t actually go inside the homestead itself, it’s a lovely site to see from
Outside.
If you follow the path down towards the beach there is also the remains of the old whale processing facilities.
There is heaps of parking in the car park with overflow where required. There is also public toilets located with the sites.
Note the drive in is around 4.0km of dirt road, but it is well maintained.
Merimbula Aquarium & Wharf Restaurant is a family-friendly spot with stunning ocean views, offering homestyle cakes, seafood, and choice wines. The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or simply enjoying coffee and cake while taking in the 180-degree ocean views of Merimbula Bay and breathtaking sunsets. Additionally, it features an aquarium to entertain kids. The venue is also popular for seaside weddings due to its spectacular location.
Enjoyed the aquarium. It was exquisite but had so much to watch. Fish feeding session with explanation was very educational. Fish and other sea creatures are well kept. Enjoyed the battered fish and chips with salads from the restaurant as the main course. Food was well prepared with reasonable price. Enjoyed the service with friendly staff and lived relaxing environment with amazing view to the sea.
Kay TAN — Google review
We payed $70 for this Aquarium. Extremely disappointed. It was very tired & run down. There was about 12 small tanks and a few fish. You could probably see the same amount at a pet store. One of the tanks was broken. To top it off they charged an extra 15% on public holidays. I don't know why as there is no staff down in the aquarium. It's also not pram or wheelchair friendly.
Grace Wardle — Google review
The servers rushed us through… to getting our orders to clearing our tables! We barely sat down and he wanted drink orders, and clearing our plates while some of us are still eating.
The scones were decent, but the lady server used her bare hands to pick up 2 scones that’s not covered, and popped them in the microwave. No food safety at all.
The Gin cured salmon was lacking a little flavour, just pure saltiness. The bacon scrambled on toast were good.
Pricing was not too expensive. View was beautiful
Lamemamabear Sonja — Google review
This aquarium and restaurant sits at the best location with nice water view. The food was delicious and presented really well! We also visited the small aquarium underneath the restaurant, it’s got 26 tanks in total and all come in different sizes. There were some very interesting fish and the guy who was cleaning the tank was so passionate about fish, he came and told us a lot about the different kind of fish in the aquarium. It was a really pleasant experience!
Angela Wong — Google review
We had a better time at this aquarium than we did at sea life in Melbourne. We were the only ones there so had our own tour. Alan and Will were super knowledgeable, friendly and great at making sure the kids were able to see everything. It was also great getting to see all the fish be fed. It was definitely well worth our money. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant but coffee was good too.
Kailah Smith — Google review
Great location, excellent service and fantastic food on offer. I’ve been to the aquarium wharf restaurant a number of times and it has always been a great experience.
The aquarium itself is well worth seeing. A fantastic display of local and tropical species. Well sized and appointed tanks with a wide variety of specimens.
Australia’s Coastal Wilderness Adventures — Google review
Firstly, apologies for the long rant but this one made one heck of a bad impression.
Besides the great views there were really no other positives about Aquarium. Upon arrival we waited at least 5min before anyone acknowledged our arrival. Eventually one of the waiters who had rushed past a few times noticed we had not been seated yet asked if we’re were being looked after and said he would be back in a minute to help. Shortly after the manager came and said that she would be back to seat us in a minute as well. In the meantime a large group came in behind us and the manager returned, walked straight past and took them to their table. While doing so the waiter then returned and when we mentioned the manager said she would seat us he appeared as if he wanted to help but looked worried to step on her toes and said it best we wait.
Eventually we were seated and two girls were alternately waiting our table. One was friendly & helpful and the other seemed untrained and didn’t really know what to do.
The first course came out and was ok at best. Mine was 2 prawns with a bit of sauce and my partners zucchini flowers were quite heavy on the batter.
The mains however were terrible. They had clearly been left under the heat lamps for way too long. On my dish the snapper was over cooked and the scampi was halved. On the half originally on top the meat had shrivelled so badly that it had gone hard and was inedible. This had obviously been swapped around and placed facedown just prior to serving so it was not obvious until I was halfway through the dish. My partner had ordered a medium rare fillet steak that was served just short of well done and was clearly cut by someone inexperienced.
After the first two courses we decided not to roll the dice with dessert and opted to get something in town instead.
At $140 for some of the worst meals we have ever had and a bottle of water this will be our first and last visit.
In summary, the restaurant seemed to be a rudderless ship as there were many young inexperienced staff and the manager was to busy looking after tables to actually guide the team.
Aquarium would be a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink or two but I strongly advise to eat elsewhere.
Mark Burgess — Google review
Amazing experience. I visited the Aquarium today and it was incredible. I was lucky enough to be the only visitor at the time and had two of their amazing staff show me around and tell me all about the animals, even the funny stories that only the workers would know. They are a catch a release aquarium with plenty to see. The animals and enclosures are very well kept and the fish feeding is a must. Can't wait to visit again.
J Suth — Google review
What a gr8 place to meet up for a coffee or some lunch. Gr8 atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended having a look at the Aquarium, especially at feeding time.
Glenn Stokes — Google review
After visiting the aquarium, we decided to stay for lunch. We had a lovely table on the balcony, watching people fishing and we spotted dolphins swimming by - amazing view!
The staff were great and our drink order and entrees arrived quickly (beautiful oysters and garlic bread). Our mains came out a little too close to the entrees however they seafood linguine was beautiful. The seafood was fresh and tasty (not rubbery) and I ate all the seafood before I even touched the pasta as it was so good.
I'd definitely eat here as a first preference if we ever visit Merimbula again.
Monique Gibson — Google review
We found this beautiful restaurant by chance and had the most magical night imaginable. We had just recently gotten engaged and mentioned this in conversation and were congratulated and celebrated by all of the beautiful staff. They were beyond accomodating- including for our furry family member. We had the most amazing night celebrating our engagement watching the sunset and could not recommend the delicious food, the beautiful restaurant and aquarium and the absolutely incredible staff more. We felt like we’d wandered into a family. Highly highly recommend!
Zoe Collins — Google review
We stopped for coffee and cake which were both delicious. Restaurant is lovely with great views looking over the water and staff were efficient and friendly.
At $25 per adult and $17 per child be advised that the Aquarium is small, dated, signage needs replacing and very overpriced, $10 would be sufficient.
Peta Schiller — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with great views of the ocean and the wharf. We ordered the sea food platter for two and it was delicious! We went with a group of 7 and all of us, including the kids were impressed with the mains and desserts.
Highly recommend the butterscotch Panna cotta for dessert.
Our group was sat by the big glass windows and we were close enough to see a group of dolphins swim past… it was amazing.

This establishment is located on a stunning beachside with unobstructed views of the coastline.
The dining experience was delightful; the food was highly enjoyable, and the staff provided excellent service. The manager's personal touch, greeting us at the end of our meal, added to the charm of our visit.
The high-quality cuisine and beautifully presented dishes made this experience truly special.
To cap off our meal, we explored the small but impressive aquarium located beneath the restaurant, which offered a surprising variety of marine life.
The combination of the restaurant and aquarium made for a lovely and recommendable treat.

This was definitely worth it. The view was absolutely gorgeous. The food was great and delicious and the service was incredible. Highly recommend. There is a free car park as well.

The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The food was lovely. The view was spectacular.
Family attraction with theme-park rides, go-karts, a tube slide, tree-climbing & a souvenir shop.
A must visit place, If you are staying in Merimbula. Can easily spend close to 6-7 hrs with kids. A compact theme park with unlimited access to rides.
Lakshminarayanan Venougobalan — Google review
Fairly small amusement park, good for kids and adults. Quite pricey and everyone needs a ticket to enter the park and the tree climbing is extra. Queue lengths were quite long for a number of the rides.
Paul Reichl — Google review
Complete Rip off and way too expensive for what it is. Only one adult was going on the rides with our 6 year old but we still had to pay full price ($59) for another adult to sit and watch the whole time. Can understand they are a business but perhaps there can be a “spectators” fee to those not going on any of the rides. Most rides weren’t open which we weren’t made aware of at the time of entering. Could only go on three of the attractions. The staff told us that they rotate through the attractions hence why most were closed, again this should be made aware to guests as some don’t plan on spending a whole day there.

We had a VERY lovely time at Magic Mountain!
We really appreciate ALL the rides & activities available for kids of all ages!
The staff were all absolutely amazing, patient & kind! Thank you for taking the time to chat with our Son(s) & making it such a wonderful experience before our journey home! 😊
Can't wait to get back to have some more fun when the boys are a bit bigger & can go on ALL of the rides! 🤩

Great Place to Go for Pure Fun! The Hamburgers could be a little better though. Put some Eggs and Bacon in them rather then just Cheese, Lettuce and Beef. Pretty Basic for $12...

Great place. Had a fantastic time.
My five year old loved it.
Only ride he couldn't do was the roller coaster. Was an inch too short.
We spent all day there.
Staff where friendly. Drink, food and ice cream available.
Heaps of tables around to put your stuff on.
Large grassed areas.
Noo Foster — Google review
Kids and adults alike had a great day. The Grand Prix and tobaggan ride were probs the favourite. The wind was too cold to really appreciate the water slides.
All the staff were friendly and informative regarding the rules etc for the rides.
There were 2 slightly negatives, the cafe was a little light on for variety for lunch options, the burger was luke warm as were the chips and nuggets. The coffee and service was great though.
The other was a safety issue on the jumping castle entry/exit, more than one child either slipped over, or stumbled on the tarp. The "edge" is quite steep and possibly by moving the black mat would help alleviate some of the issue.

Went to Magic Mountain on Australia Day 2022. Such a great place for kids and adults alike. Will definitely be coming back. Great little park packed with enough rides for little ones, big kids and big kids at heart. Plenty of shade. Not too far to walk. Friendly staff, clean amenities. So happy to finally come and check the place out. Would definitely recommend 👌
Ailsa Martin — Google review
We visited in mid winter so the water slides were not operating and the rope course was unavailable due to maintenance. However we still had a great time and the toboggan run and roller coaster were the favourites. The park will probably appeal more to the younger children as the rides are a bit tame for teenagers. The basic food options were pretty pricey but normal for a theme park. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Peter Blake — Google review
If you have kids and want a fun day out, then this is a good place to go. Just be aware that it will cost around $50 per adult to enter and kids around $30. There is an over 60's entrance fee around $30 which helps grand parents reduce the cost of their visit. The good news is all the rides are free once in the park. There are lots of rides, but be prepared to queue for the popular ones. There is a small take away area where you can buy something to eat, but it is expensive so consider taking a picnic basket instead. Staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. We visited the park outside the Victorian school holidays so it was not over crowded. We had a very pleasant day there.
Kevin Adair — Google review
Very fun. Lines were very long though but for some attractions it was worth the wait. Every time I have come here though the roller coaster has been out of service.

Nancy Patu — Google review
Had a fairly fun day, the entrance fee and food on-site is quite expensive. If you plan on going on the waterslides make sure you have spare clothes because most rides won't let you on when you are wet. Over all it was quite fun. And the staff were all lovely

Nature sanctuary with a relaxed, hippie atmosphere showcasing native Australian animals.
Not very crowded. Kangaroos and emus were lovely - we really enjoyed hand feeding them!! Dingoes were also cute!! The lady at the reception was very nice and so friendly!

Whilst it's an amazing opportunity to see wildlife in one place. 120 for 2 adults 2 kids. Train ride and feed was included in price. The price was pretty steep for not seeing many animals, the dingos pens were unkempt, no idea if they had dingos let alone any other animals. The bats were shivering couldn't see if there was a warm hide hole. We did have a mascot bird that followed us back. Whilst we payed a motsa and hardly saw anything we did enjoy it and the people are quite nice. The bloke that was doing the feeds was really nice and helpful. I'm glad I got to see it but not impressed by the price. Photos below are the animals we saw.

A worthy local business - as well as being a centre for re-homing animals and a place to volunteer. We, as a family of 4 decided to head on in whilst staying in Merimbula on holiday. At the time we had a 12 month old and a nine year old, and both of them had great fun exploring and getting to interact with some of the animals. On our visit it was just our family walking around which we loved. You can feed and pat kangaroos, emus, ducks and geese... Enough to keep young ones (perhaps aged 10 and under) occupied for a good hour or two, maybe even longer. With that said, we found BBQ facilities within the sanctuary but did not enquire, as well as a few outdoor games like ring-toss and giant checkers to stay occupied. Not all enclosures feature animals every day of the year, you need to factor in maintenance, sick animals and other reasons so hence some enclosures are empty. There quite a few birds, some that talk, some that will land on you and some that may bite so beware either way. There's a small gift shop and cafe, however the cafe wasn't open on our visit - no trouble to us. It seemed small to us at first but you realise it's a bit bigger than you think once you start wandering around. This is definately not a "Taronga Zoo", it's a smaller scale animal sanctuary that will give you, and or, the kids something to do for a little while. On our visit, we were able to chat with a gentleman about the dingoes that he had recently donated to the sanctuary - lovely guy and very informative, so you never know what you might get. Overall, our family had a nice time. Wheelchair and pram friendly to a degree. Due to the natural environment there's quite a few bumps and rocks etc. to navigate but it can be done. We came, we saw, we enjoyed.

Really enjoyed our time there, you can see they really care about the animals they have their and the highlights for us was the Echidna's, Koala's and of course Chuffy was absolutely gorgeous, the way she wanted pats and company.
Highly recommend a visit here if in the area.

Really lovely sanctuary where you can interact with the well known animals if the area. They have some talkative birds too. The cafe food was simple and delicious and the staff lovely. The sanctuary supports animals that cannot be rehabilitated so great to know our visit supported a critically needed cause.

Amazing staff! It has a baby change room and disabled room. Bring an all-terrain pram or wheelchair though as there are lots of bumps and hills. 2 disabled parking spaces. A variety of animal encounters as well- snakes, dingos, emus, kookaburra, koala, echidna, and more. I won't forget about Max the Laughing Cockatoo and Chuffy the Chough anytime soon. The geese were also funny (very interested in the pram wheels).
Delicious cheese and coffee, nice historic place.
I came early on a holiday weekend and after 30 minutes the place was full of people.
I went to the top level to read and see how this company was first established and the tools that were used and how they were developed. I liked it.
Then I tried a plate of mixed cheese which I highly recommend it ( the heritage premium cheese was amazing!).
The coffee and ice cream were very good. I would suggest trying the fudge but keep in mind it is very sweety.
Loved this place.

Didn’t plan on being at the Cheese Heritage Centre however so pleased I did stop. The coffee is great, the museum is fantastic and bought back so many memories of the old family farm. Good cafe and some wonderful food. Met Brian - the truck driver delivering the cheese. He is a local and could tell stories from “way back”. Great stopover.

We had a wonderful stop over. Their cakes were freshly baked and delicious - not too sweet for our palates. Their coffee is one of the best we had around Bega Valley Shire. We were impressed! We really did enjoy our food and coffee while sitting outside looking into their vast green scenery. The only reason we gave them a 4 stars rating is, the cheese factory tour still isn’t running. However, entry to their little museum upstairs is free. The gift shop upstairs is a must to browse for gift ideas. They have a variety of unique items and colourful puns which will surely will make you smile and giggle. We definitely recommend this place 10/10 for a quick stop over, a bite and to unwind.
Jaye — Google review
It is a good stop point wherever you go. It is not a massive museum or well organised display centre. So do not set your expectations high as it is a free entry.
Just one disappointment was that the selection of products sold at the cafe wasn't much different from any supermarket and they aren't any cheaper. One of the cheeses I really liked but not sold in any supermarket was Heritage Vintage Reserve Cheddar. I would definitely visit this Heritage centre to buy this cheese.
Hewitt Kwon — Google review
We were able to have a small taste of different cheeses. We enjoyed the serve of scones with jam and cream. I was pleased to see the painted cow that I remembered from a holiday there years ago. It was clean and comfortable.
Raelene O'Flaherty — Google review
Not as great for the family as you might hope:
- The cheese tasting is exactly what you would find in the local supermarket including super slices of all things. I guess I expected something more gourmet, however this is the exact full range that Bega makes.
- You aren't able to view the factory or any sort of cheese making at all. So it's practical educational value is limited. There's even a sign that says "No factory tours"
- Upstairs is the heritage component which is a collection of antique memorabilia relating to farming and cheese making which is not interactive or presented in a very interesting way. In fact it says do not touch.
- The one interactive exhibit, a cow that presumably moos or something when a button was pressed was broken
- The toilets are decent and had change tables
- The food was fairly good. My order was mixed up and after checking on it they did rectify.
- The coffee was mediocre

The Bega Cheese Factory 🏭 is over 124 years old.
We come before closing hours, so we get some gifts 🎁 cheeses 🧀.
They have amazing cakes and cupcakes 🧁, coffee ☕️ 😋 or tea 🍵 😋, with 🧀 cheese snacks and cold drinks. 🥶
Come and see 👀 the gifts 🎁 that are so amazing 👏, for you, family's and friends.
Upstairs, there is a museum, a history of Bega Cheese Heritage Centre, and Bega.
The Bega name is derived from the local Aboriginal word meaning "big campaign ground." Another claim is that the word "bika " in local Aboriginal language, one of the Yuin language meaning "beautiful. "
The first European to come near was George Bass (30 January 1771-5 February 1803 last seen before living the Port Jackson, age 32),in December 1797 as part of his broader explanation 😳 of the Australian coast 😳.
William Tarlinton was the first European arriving on foot and exploring this area in 1829.
He returned in the early 1830s and settled there and started a cattle farm.
Around the same time, the Imlay brothers came, who also began farming their names, has been preserved in the form of Mount Imlay National Park.
The town of Bega itself was laid out and gazetted in December 1851. The region received a further boost 😳 in the late 1870s when gold was discovered in the Bermagui area 😀.
In 1882, the Municipality of Bega was created. Before the 20th century, come the Bega Dairy Cooperative Limited was set up in 1899.

Great quick stop with nice museum, awesome oldfashioned milk shakes (choc.malt!), limited cheese tasting and sales. Not for bargains perhaps, but definitely for cheese lovers. Toilet facilities, parkland adjoining too and ample parking.
Short drive from Bega. Definitely recommend SUV or 4WD. Very short walk from the parking. Beautiful place to spend a day with family. Ample parking place, public toilets, sitting area, and BBq hot plates.
As the place is of great cultural significance, the Aboriginal owners request no to swim in the falls. "As per sign posted"
Omair Jadoon — Google review
A great way to take advantage of the natural splendour of Biamanga National Park is by stopping at Biamanga Cultural area during your road trip.
You'll find a convenient boardwalk – perfect for walking with children – that leads to a scenic lookout where you can see water cascading through a dramatic gorge and granite boulder field. This is part of the legacy of an ancient shield volcano in the area, and the story of its Aboriginal heritage is conveyed through interpretive signs and an information shelter here.
Don't forget your camera – the forest setting is beautiful, with eastern water dragons sunning themselves on rocks and chefs cap correa bursting with lemon and green colours. Birdwatching is superb as well – with azure kingfishers and blue wrens frequenting the area, it’s almost as though they're putting on a show for visitors.
After your stroll, unpack a lunch at one of the picnic tables or fire up the free gas barbecues for a relaxing afternoon with family and friends beneath the eucalypts. This is a great picnic spot, shady and serene, surrounded by the calming sounds of the rushing creek.
The Aboriginal custodians request that visitors, through respect, do not swim in the Mumbulla Falls area - a site that is sacred to the Yuin People.

Easy to get to. We walked around (didn't swim as asked by the local aborigines) and had a good look.very pretty area.
Greg Lawler — Google review
A short walk to a beautiful gorge and waterhole on the south coast, with Aboriginal significance. Due to changed road access, it is quite a long drive on unsealed roads to get here, but worth the drive for a very beautiful and well sign-posted waterhole and falls. Picnic and BBQ facilities available.
Note - there is signage that states the local Yuin people request people don't swim here. On our visit this was largely ignored, with many people in the water and jumping off the rocks.

Our family had an absolute blast at this site and we visited it three times during our week-long holiday. Easy to navigate, spectacular views and terrific amenities. We saw all sorts of sea life, enjoyed watching the seals play along the rocky coast and were inspired to go and purchase some snorkels to get into the spirit of the location. There’s a lot of stairs and the water could get particularly cold but that didn’t hinder our enjoyment too much. We spent a few hours here each visit and can’t wait to go back soon.
Gregg Savage — Google review
Nice drive. Good shower and toilet facilities. Very clean. However, the water is quite stagnant, so there's plenty of plants growing on the rocky floors of the pool. You may spot seals in the nearby rocks. No beach to swim.
Skandakumar Kumarasingam — Google review
There is a car park at the top of the cliff along with toilets and changing area. It is not suitable for caravans or large buses which should be parked at the top of the hill near the road. Then lots of stairs with good handrails take you to the bottom of the cliff. You need to be steady on your feet as the area is natural rock and uneven. There are stairs and a handrail to get in and out of the pool. It’s shallow at one end and about 9’ deep at the other end. Some people had goggles on and were able to view fish swimming in the pool. The water was sparkling clean and clear while I was there. Water temp was about 20° so not warm but comfortable. Don’t miss it if your in the area and enjoy swimming.
Geri Haydon — Google review
Wonderful place, stop by if you can! I recommend coming here during low tide because the water ist just a bit less cold. (Winter)
Johann Kreßin — Google review
Worth a visit and a swim if you’re in town. Also lots of seals to see 🦭
Note: It was safe to swim when I was there, but some sets came in over the rocks, so worth being aware 🌊
Jacinta — Google review
It's a beaut little spot. Parking and toilets at the top of the hill. Short walk down the steps to the pool. A popular place and when I visited and it wasn't particularly hot! Some seats to sit on but I suspect when it's hot these would be fiercely contended for as there are not many. The bottom of the pool is rocky so that might be a problem for some. There is a smaller pool for kids. You should go just for a look!
Bryan McGlade — Google review
Awesome place, especially at sunset! We loved it !! We didn't swim because it was winter but it seems the perfect place to enjoy a hot day. With an "artificial" pool and the other more connected to the sea. We could also see numerous seals swimming in the area !!!
Anita Bocchetto — Google review
I didn't go in the pool itself, so I'm just giving an opinion on the place: the car park is tiny, get ready to walk uphill. The stairs to go to the pool are even and have 2 rails to hold on to.
Toilet and shower at the car park, benches and tables at the car park and near the pool.
The place is full of cement, which takes a lot away from the idea of a "natural" rock pool. The shallow pool is very slippery.
Luckily, on the day we went, we saw seals and dolphins. It made our day.
In the big pool and in the rocks, you can see fish and sea life.

Absolutely stunning place to go. Its a great spot for swimming on a warm day. The scenery is mindblowing. Its a hidden gem in a small town on the way to batemans bay. Was not too crowdy. I would recommend everyone to stop by on your way.

Wonderful experience, it's a must try. It's an amazing rock pool, on the edge of the cliff next to Ocean. The experience of the pool next to an ocean was really good. I have never been to a place like this before, so i was extremely happy. Once you reach the parking, there are stairs to go down to the pool. The pool is pretty big, and the depth is quite good. There are so many small crabs, snails, and mussels nearby of the pool rocks. There's a nice washroom 🚻 facility available with a shower hose.
Praloyjit Das — Google review
Wonderful experience! Had a swim and saw some seals over the rocks too!
Mun Ch Wong — Google review
Once you clear the 80 of steps down to the pools this is a relaxing stop. Kids pool and bigger pool are true sea pools.
Having the seals dining themselves next door.

Beautiful place, nice rock pools.
This was our second visit and wanted swimming in the rock pool but it was freezing 🥶.
We watched a group of seals swimming on the right side view from the hill.
It was a very lucky day that we watched more than 10 different groups of whales.
Amazing place.
Hewitt Kwon — Google review
A must-go destination when visiting the Far South Coast! There’s plenty of parking (more in the grass before the main carpark, so parking is not something to stress about). There are showers and bathrooms there as well. I suggest coming to this place early as it does get quite busy and there aren’t many places to sit.
Nicky T — Google review
Beautiful spot. The water was far too cold. Will have to come back in summer. Saw seal and whales there too
Verena Van Bonn — Google review
To go swimming here it’s free. Lots of steps to walk down to get to the pool. There is a toddler pool with concrete floor next to rock pool. Can touch the ground in most places in the pool. Just have to be careful not to cut feet when climbing on the edge to look over wall to see ocean. Can snorkel in pool and see little fish. Has seats to put towels on or just sit and watch. Sometimes you can see seals on the rocks in a distance.
I would highly recommend you go for a swim.
Lynette Zimmerling — Google review
Lots of small fishes in the rock pool, great for novice snorkellers. Beautiful spot to swim.
Beautiful rocks and breathtaking waves. Come here on a sunny day and you will get an amazing experience
Lily Zheng — Google review
The beach is awesome with fine sand and good waves. The road leading to the beach from the main road is a mud road and there are no shops around the vicinity. Apart from these two negatives it's a fine beach.
balaji s — Google review
It’s pretty great. Especially at sunrise. But, if I had to be brutally honest, the biggest distraction is trying to figure out why it’s called Camel Rock and not Dinosaur Lying on its Back Tickling Itself Rock.
Gregg Savage — Google review
Omg what a beautiful place! Camel rock is so cool and the water is so clear and stunning! Lots of Little Rock pools to look around, perfect for little ones to explore. Such a relaxing and breathtaking beach!

Yes, it looks like a camel. Nice beach. Near the Big 4 at Wallaga Lake were we were staying. Worth a visit.

Loved this place. Not the rock only the whole area with stones formation. Has put so much character in this area

Great place with easy access. Don't forget to take the horse head rock walking track. Walk from the end of the beach at low tide and you may have a chance to take a closer look at the horse head rock.
Michael Tse — Google review
Spectacular Camel Rock is an ancient rock formation, comprised of folded 470 million year old turbidite beds that were created by underwater avalanches 450 million years ago.
Take the 1.5 kilometre walking track at the back of the viewing platform to Murunna Point, with elevated lookouts and panoramic ocean views.
Murunna Point is a significant Aboriginal place, with views to Gulaga (Mt Dromedary) and Wallaga Lake as it opens to the sea.
Camel Rock Surf Beach is well known for its great surfing, swimming, snorkelling, rock pools to explore and fishing. The beach is patrolled during the summer months and is well sheltered if there is a north easterly wind.
Parking is available at Camel Rock Beach car park, found along the unmarked road off Wallaga Lake Rd.
Mahmudul Ahsan — Google review
Really nice rocky beach! Water was so clear today with a bit of swell for the surfers. 2 carparks which looked like a popular spot. Some walking trails around too
Keira Nicolls — Google review
An amazing rock formation just a short walk from the car park. I visited twice in a couple of days. I recommend taking photos from down the bottom paying close attention to the swell but also from the little track up on the cliff top! Will definitely come back here one day for sure!
Alistair Wilson — Google review
Very picturesque rock formations on the beach. Popular with photographers and not uncommon to be sharing the space at sunrise with others. A great spot, nevertheless.
Geoff Hickin — Google review
Camel Rock, Horse head point and the Murunna Point Scenic walk are a must to do while in the area. View the picturesque rugged cliffs and beautiful views overlooking the ocean. It is a good area for whale watching. Take your binoculars.
Leo — Google review
Great views, unique trick formation but nothing else here. Recommendation to walk Camel Rock to Horses Head; only if you are a mountain goat wearing strong shoes. Very tricky and not easy.
Dean Turner — Google review
Yet another beautiful area of the southern coastline of NSW. The Camel is not very obvious to me but that’s coz my imagination isn’t great. I was told that it’s definitely a camel with a short neck. It doesn’t matter if it is because the place is worth visiting. The water was a little cold so I didn’t see too many people in the water but I’m guessing during summer this place is packed. It’s unpolluted and the sand is lovely. I really hope people can treasure places like this and not throw garbage and disrupt the sea life and wildlife. A beautiful place to visit
Pretty place. Second visit. Nice old buildings. Beautiful countryside and mountain scenery. Great little stores to browse. Tearooms, bakery, gifts, clothes, cheese, lollies, icecream, B & B,etc. Parking at each end of town. Playground in the middle near the hall for kids.

A beautifully quaint historical town. The history has been well maintained. Lots of gorgeous shops full of local produce, leathers shop, lollies shop, cheese shop, hippy shop, antiques shop and gallerys, cafes and more,The town is small enough that you can park at one end and take your time strolling the main street taking in all that the town has to offer. Just a 5 minute drive off the freeway definitely worth the detour. There's also a parking area for caravans. Highly recommend

A quaint little historical village in the hills with beautiful valley views. All sorts of bric-a-brac, Devonshire tea Cafes, a lovely old Pub, Cheese Factory, old lolly shop plus plenty of country gift shops. We went for a casual stroll down the street and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great for photography too. If in the area, do drive down the road to the Tilba Winery and Ale House. Another great place to visit.

Tilba Tilba is simply beautiful, it’s one of my favourite places in NSW. This town really takes so much pride in its buildings and heritage. The scones alone are worth the drive. Very green and lush. There is a farm walk attached to the lookout which I would highly recommend.

I really enjoyed our tour of the island by the Wildlife Service rangers. Lots of interesting info about the birds that nest on the island, tour of lighthouse and walk to see baby seals. Our tour also included snorkeling with the seals from the boat. Amazing! We went with Narooma Charters. Highly recommend.

It was a very beautiful snorkeling experience and I was surrounded by seals and I really enjoyed the experience. I saw rays, urchins, fish, and seals of course. The staff were also really helpful and kind and they brought along some snacks and drinks. Swimming with the seals was scary but they were actually friendly and playful.

It it really an undiscovered place! (well, compare to Sydney city I would say that) I went 21-23 Feb and didn't see much people around. With less tourists comes cleaner water and a more natural environment. The snorkeling with seals tour is more than amazing and I highly recommend all the adventurers to try that.

Terrific experience snorkelling with Seals then a 2 hour tour of the island by National Parks volunteers. What a great day!!
Phillip Shipton — Google review
The island across from Narooma is small and does have limited accommodation upon it. We visited as part of a tour but did not utilise the accommodation. The volunteer guide - "Debbie" was very informative and helpful and helped us around the island. Birds galore nesting upon the island were extremely noisy and made it hard to hear each other at times. In saying that it was lovely to see such an ecological system in play. Great history involved in the island. Glad to have visited.

What an amazing tandem experience.
The gentle ascending flight encapsulates the spectacular scenery, looking down from above it was mesmerising.
Preparing to launch as I roll into the void, like I am floating above a big fan. The sensation provokes much animation from within, this crazy man is on fire, in a good way.lol
Then the lift from the ejecting parachute feels like it is taking me back up, until I adjust and am floating slowly back to earth. A few guided hand controls which freaks me out a little and then a smooth landing.
All thanks to my man on the day, Heath. I felt totally safe to experience the wonder
Excellent facility and great atmosphere

Numerous species of exotic & endangered animals can be encountered (some fed) at this expansive zoo.
I love this little zoo! The animals all look nice and healthy and the feeding is so affordable. For only $3 you can get a bag/cone of feed that you can give to the deer, camels, zebra (though they didn’t come over) and/or ostriches! For an extra $20 you can feed the giraffe some wattle leaves which was really fun. Included in the entry price was a little map/passport for each of the kids where they could collect stamps as we found each enclosure. 10/10 would recommend.

Absolutely loved this and couldn't recommend more! Such a great variety of animals and every one we visited was out and visible, including the lions and lion cub! You can feed a lot of different animals too and it was only $20 to feed the giraffe which is a must do! Plenty of space and not too busy, we even went on a Saturday too. Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, it's pram and wheelchair friendly too mostly. I can't recommend this place enough! One of the best wildlife parks I've been to.

Exceptionally good. Well priced! Well-layed-out. This zoo is brilliant. A really interesting variety of animals. Probably less on the Aussie animal side but that's fine, all the monkeys make up for it.
This is a great day for the family and the town of Mogo is excellent too so you can have a nice brunch before or afterwards. Highly recommended.

Fascinating zoo, with a great range of interesting, photogenic and captivating animals. Small enough that it only takes about 2.5 - 3.0 hours to see everything, but large enough to have a satisfying range of exhibits. We particularly loved the meerkats and the marmosets.
Roger Stonehouse — Google review
We liked it here. It’s an orderly, well kept and interesting small zoo. The animals are well displayed. They all look very healthy. We enjoyed a good hour and a half wandering around here. A special plug too for the landscaping and gardening. Some of it is lovely. Our only criticism would be of the cafe - there are no healthy food options and it’s all cakes, chips, pies, white bread and lollies. But, the wildlife park itself is wonderful, so just bring your own healthy food if that’s your thing.

Had an amazing time visiting. We did go on a slightly rainy day, but what that meant was we were able to get up close for the keeper talks. We were lucky enough to see the lion talk and gorilla talk, and the knowledge, passion, and love the keepers have for the animals is unmistakable. They were so happy to answer questions and talk about the conservation programs the zoo is part of.
The animals at Mogo Wildlife Park look well looked after and relaxed.
Another highlight for adults and kids alike is being able to feed the deer, kangaroo and camels.

Really great, but pick your time off day wisely depending on what U want to see. Many animals just sleep at the back when it's hot, and it's good if you can see a feeding. If you have NRMA buy through them for a discount and free vouchers.

We attended the community day, to celebrate reopening after the 2020 bushfires- a yearly event. Despite the soaking wet weather, we had a wonderful time. The animals are so well loved and cared for, the grounds are immaculate (some paths were very soggy due to the rain and gumboots were the fashion of the day lol, the food in the cafe was lovely and we couldn't fault a thing. The staff were friendly and answered any questions about the animals, the facilities were clean and accessible. We are grateful for the community day and will return when we have friends visit - it's well worth showing it off! Thanks Chad and all the team!

Fantastic relaxing, beautiful zoo to wander around. Up close and personal with the animals and well-informed staff explaining everything you need to know about the animals. In a perfect world if anything is held in captivity such as animals they need room and the freedom to move and roam without restriction, Hence I felt a bit sad for the tigers and other big cats in their enclosures. My first time seeing a gorilla up close, very impressive might I add but also wished they had more open space.. Overall it was a pleasant experience my family enjoyed Mogo we could see the animals are all very well loved and cared for by the staff at Mogo and positively sure everyone doing their utmost to make it the best environment possible for them all.

Went during the xmas break and it was so much fun. We did the giraffe feeding and absolutely loved it. Would love to do the rino encounter next time. Its small but packs in so many cute animals. If only it's closer to Sydney I'd be there every month.

We always visit when we stay at Broulee. Love the zoo, meerkats are the cutest as are marmosets. Lioness had 2 cubs so that was special too.

This park clearly cares about enriching animals daily lives and playing a part in conserving endangered species. Saw lots of healthy enrichment, enclosures are nicely designed, the keepers are experienced, the animals look happy and active. Highly recommend! Pro tip: careful when feeding the ostrich, it’s scary 🤣

Previous experience was better...Zoo looks little bit neglected... make a picture in sunny day, through the glass...not easy( gorilla), could I suggest make some little roof ?
Price in Cafe pretty overpriced..
But Zookeepers as usual brilliant and kind hearts.
Recommended for visiting, at least ones for everyone!
Kids friendly.
Beautiful Botanical Gardens and bush, visitor centre Cafe, play ground, Australian native plants, creek and Kangaroos.

We enjoyed it here. It’s still recovering from major bushfires in 2019 but it’s still well worth a visit, especially to get your daily steps up on the well marked paths. There are some nice trees, shrubs and other plants and some lovely wetlands. Altogether it’s a very peaceful spot. The cafe here - Mossy on Gardens - is wonderful in its own right - the coffee and food are excellent - and the gift shop is terrific too.

Absolutely gorgeous walk. Not too hard of a trek throughout. Would recommend 😊
Would also recommend grabbing a map if there is one, easy to get lost though 😅

From the entrance to the cafe setting, plant nursery and amazing layout of the gardens it is truly a spectacular facility. A wonderful combination of kids and adult play area with some excellent home garden design ideas. A perfect example of what a botanic garden can do to encourage community to embrace their native landscape.

Excellent gardens, always evolving with new designs and interesting Native plants. The burgers are absolutely delicious. Sunday's lunch was a real treat with Birdsong and nature,. So enjoyable and relaxing. A great place for groups as well as couples. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff. Loved the well-stocked souvenir shop 🤩

Rebuilt after the fires with some examples of the heat effects and devastation on display in the visitor centre and in the gardens. Great to see the forest recover. Good coffee in the cafe, variety of good stuff in the gift shop and a kangaroo or two on the lawn if you are lucky. No entry fee is a surprise so a donation is in order. Tap to donate would be good.

A great place to have a bite to eat, picnic, and walk around. Toilets are clean and plenty of space to walk aound or have a gathering, The bush paths are well posted and in great condition.

I was a bit surprised to find such a great place outside of Australia's metropolitan areas! It's not like your typical Melbourne/Sydney Botanical Garden with lots of well maintained flowers and British Lawn as it has more "wild" nature including bush walks, Wallabies, Grey Kangaroos and - of course - lots of birds. The cafe offers breakfast and lunch options, reasonable priced with Indoor and (covered) outdoor seating. They also offer a BBQ area to bring / prep your own food next to the huge playground. Lots of parking space (including buses/campers/trailor); FYI: there is a second parking lot behind the first one if that is crowded! Highly recommend!
Please leave a like if this review was of any help!

These gorgeous gardens get better every time! Staff have worked so hard on bringing the gardens back to their former glory, before the devastating bushfires, and their hard work is paying off. Each time there are new sections to explore. The cafe is also wonderful, I encourage trying the scones with jam and cream! Will definitely be back 😊

Perfect setting for a picnic day with the little ones and well maintained gardens with a great auxillary shop and cafe. The gardens still could do with replacement signs for plants but it's understandable after the terrible fires that ran through. Still a lovely place to visit with a lot of native species to enjoy.

It is so peaceful to walk thru the gum trees on the many tracks that are available. Then you could have a coffee at the cafe, or browse the gift shop.

This garden is nicely maintained and was quiet and nice when we visited on 2/1/2024. There is a visitor centre and Cafe and walking tracks with various levels of difficulties. It is a relaxing place to spend your morning here.

Entrance is free so a must visit if you are in the area. Experience a forest walk through 2 bridges that run over part of the park. Multiple hikes along a couple of loops with low to medium difficulties. The total of all loops is ~4km. Really good kids' play area, and a nice visitors centre and cafe.

Lovely bushland type 'Botanic Gardens'. Had a long walk around here and saw lots of wildlife, eg. Kangaroo's, various Lizards and even a big goanna!
At the café, as we had our yummy meal, we watched a Red-Bellied Black Snake hunting, catching and then eating a hapless frog. 🐸 🐍

What a superb morning we spent walking around this free!! to visit place. The gardens and forest are extremely well laid out, with short walks that you can join together and explore various areas. Some superb vegetation and plant life with various ponds positioned around to attract bird life.
Then, to add to your day a lovely cafe that served almost everything you need from a good cup of tea (very important to most of us from the UK) to hot meals. The staff were attentive and kept the place very clean & tidy.
Brilliant place to spend so e very relaxing hours.

Bird & wildlife park in 8 acres of native bush with a train, playground & picnic area.
Family had a great time here & were surprised with how big the park is. Staff were lovely, the wombat/snake show is good. There's a park, toilet facilities etc so if you bring some lunch you can take some time & really enjoy the park. The roaming wildlife was fun & the gardens themselves are beautiful. Don't expect a zoo it's much a smaller, close knit type feel which is lovely.

Staff were welcoming and friendly but the place is quite run down. Sometimes less is more and needs some maintenance. Got to hold a baby wombat which was our highlight of our 40min visit. Pretty small place so perfect for families with small kids.

Had such a great time here! Went for a weekend trip to Bateman's Bay. Tossing up between this place and Mogo Zoo. Ended up going here due to all the Australian natives. I'm really glad I did.
There were only 2 other groups when I went (mid March) so I was able to avoid other people entirely.
Sitting on the ground and hand feeding the wallabies, surrounded by beautiful nature and a variety of different birdsong, was just fantastic and made me really happy.
I'd go here again in a heartbeat!

Definitely somewhere to visit with kids as we used our discover vouchers on cost a family of four $38. Place is bigger than it looks and worth the wonder with a wombat show that happens a couple times through out the day.

Amazing family business; 29 peacocks and counting; the animals and birds are well cared for ; the train is no longer running , but an enjoyable family outing that definitely needs our support post the fires and Covid issues that have cost them business.

What an amazing bird park!! We had a great morning walking around the 8 acres with loads of animals, from birds, kangaroos, emus, ostriches, peacocks, wombats, wallabies, turtles and loads of reptiles. The staff were amazing with loads of information on the animals and their back stories. If you ever get a chance you should definitely check this park out.

Lovely place. It is run down since the last time I’ve been here. Not many birds left sadly but the remaining ones are very friendly and chatty. Some wombats, minimal reptiles, deer, wallaby’s… You can still collect peacock feathers throughout then park but be warned that any with the ‘eyes’ you need to pay for (which wasn’t like this a while back).

I went during the weekend , nice and quiet seemed a little short of animals , but what I saw was good and also enjoyed the walks.
Wayne Gregory — Google review
The park is much larger than it first appears and gives the sense of wandering through a botanical garden. The flora is just as enjoyable as the fauna - one of the highlights is the Illawarra Flame Trees near the entrance. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, and it is evident that the animals are well cared for. I was pretty surprised by the negative reviews as they didn't reflect my experience at all. The only things in the park that appeared run down were the seating at the front and the bbq / picnic area. The animal enclosures and water features were all well maintained (and the toilet block was pristine). I suspect that the park just had to prioritise limited resources during & post covid, which is pretty reasonable. Absolutely worth a visit.

Not really sure where to start. We visited during school holidays. My husband and I brought our 2 kids, after seeing on the website they did train rides, as our youngest is obsessed with trains. There is a sign out front advertising the rides. It’s also on their website. But when we got there, AFTER we paid, the lady told us the train doesn’t work, but we could sit on it. PLEASE STOP ADVERTISING THAT YOU DO TRAIN RIDES. It’s a major attraction for families, and it’s a rip off when you take their money then tell them it’s not operational.Apparently it’s been out of action for years. So, if you can read and reply to reveiws, you can update that info on your website so you’re not misinforming people.
The first thing you notice is the park looks very run down and neglected. The sitting/bbq area has a filthy bbq, cracked plastic chairs, and not clean at all. It looks like the maintenance person has just given up. There’s a lot of enclosures with nothing but garden waste in them. There’s wooden slat little bridges that are broken to the point of safety hazard. It’s just sad. The place has so much potential. And considering the amount they charge, it’s very over priced and underwhelming. The ostrich’s were cool, and the kangaroo’s. And there’s a play area for the kids. But that’s about all that’s positive. No staff around the grounds either. After seeing them blame the state of the grounds on “strong winds” in previous negative reviews,it’s just clear they’re making excuses and just can’t be bothered with the upkeep. Won’t be recommending it to anyone. Really disappointed.

Great little animal park. Great variety of Australian mammals and marsupials and birds plus other animals. Prices are pretty reasonable and you are also able to feed a majority of the animals for a small additional cost. Pretty quiet during the week so probably the best time to go. Also has a small gift shop.

Happy to have gone. Amazing to see all the beautiful Peacocks running around and fluffing their butts and spanning those gorgeous feathers. So many different species, I actually liked the fact that it was rainforesty like walking through the trails. We spent 2 hours there and enjoyed it immensely. Very surprised at how big it was, you would not know from the road. Pricey but worth it to keep the family and the animals thriving and surviving considering all that has been thrown at them the past couple of years. Friendly and walked away feeling good.

Beautiful range of pheasants and parrots and lots of peacocks and guineafowls wandering around freely. The staff and friendly and helpful. The grounds are very green and lush. You can buy a feed bag and feed the grey kangaroos, the fallow deer, the llamas and many of the parrots and ostrich will also beg for some morsels from your feed bag. Spent two hours there and enjoyed taking selfies with socrates the carpet python and giving Dolly the wombat lots of butt scratches. Fun for couples, families, and kids of all ages.

Lovely place to spend some time with the family. Ample blueberries to pick and amazing berry ice cream to eat.
It’s a dirt road in so make sure your car is up to it but it adds to the fun.

Warden Head Lighthouse, located in Ulladulla, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean from Jervis Bay to Bawley Point. It is a popular spot for whale watching during migration season and provides ample opportunities for stunning photography. This Victorian-inspired lighthouse, built in 1873 and standing at twelve meters tall, is one of only two remaining iron wrought lighthouses in New South Wales.
I was Pleasantly surprised to visit this beautiful location, where you can see the whole wide Pacific ocean ahead and if you are lucky some penguins (which I saw) and may be an astray whale. Beautiful location and quite photogenic. I had one concern that place was lonely and there was no security cameras on the head or on the road where there was no people movement. I remained scared all the time because of a person in a strange outfit.
Masood Ur Rehman — Google review
Nice views overlooking the ocean. In the right there's also a small walk down to a another lookout. Has some picknick places and a small carpark
Rob den Broeder — Google review
Built of iron wrought plates with a Victorian inspired design, the Warden Head light house stood twelve metres tall and is actually 1 of only 2 currently existing iron wrought lighthouses in NSW.
If you're interested the other is the Wollongong Breakwater Lighthouse.
A bit of history, the lighthouse first erected in 1873 but was first situated at Ulladulla Breakwater to guard the entrance of the Port before it was later moved to its current location in 1879 due to increased ships getting lost.
For those looking for a bit of adventure, you can park your car at BUMMIE BAY (excellent surfing location) and take a short walk through the Coome Nujunga aboriginal inspired walking trail.
Along the way there are plenty of plants, insects and bird life to see. Once you reach the lighthouse, there are a few maze like small tracks to take which will take you to the look outs and if you were as lucky as I was, you might see wales and dolphins swimming about.
We also saw a dead baby snake (picture below) on the road so be very careful. On a side note, there's a nice brick wall near THE Boomie Bay car park entrance perfect for selfie lovers - Apollo my dog loved it. Hehe..
Both locations are both human and dog friendly! Yay! Theres a foot ball field with public toilets about 10mins walk to Boomie Bay which is an additional 15mins walk to the lighthouse!
Anyone fit at heart: Park at Brodie Park Geological Time Walk. 103 North St, Ulladulla NSW 2539 and walk/run up to the lighthouse but stay hydrated. Was a good 45-60mins walk with 2 small tiny pomeranians. Was worth the adventure! 🐕😁🐕🥳

You can drive right up to the light house and viewing platform so no excuses for not doing a drive by. From all the information boards I guess this is a Good place for whale watching, but wrong time of year now. They could have added some info on the light house itself. Missed opportunity. This is a good place to park and go for a walk in the reserve.

Cupitt's Estate, located outside Ulladulla, is a family-operated boutique winery offering a range of experiences. The estate features a vineyard where minimal-intervention winemaking techniques are employed to craft wines from estate-grown grapes as well as sourced ones. Additionally, the property houses a popular restaurant with scenic views over the vines and an on-site fromagerie where artisanal cheeses are made.
My partner and I stayed here for a surprise engagement weekend and it was perfect. The detail in the rooms was fabulous. The breakfast hamper was wonderful with delicious local produce and the fridge was so very well stocked. The pod was beautifully furnished and it was set in the perfect environment, on the winery grounds but still with a secluded and quiet feel. It was extremely convenient staying right where we had dinner and a very short drive from town and the water. The food and beverages at Cupitts were also fantastic, which is why I always stop by when I am in the area. I love the wine, stopping in for a quick lunch, or indulging in a delicious three course dinner. Highly recommended!

My husband and I went to Cupitt's Estate last night for my birthday, and it was the most wonderful experience! From the beautiful setting, to the relaxed atmosphere, to the stunning scenery. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming, explaining the menu and drinks and making sure we were happy. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented, thanks to their talented chef, and we definitely recommend the paired wines with the food! The star of the evening was the bartender, Mitchell, who mixed us superb cocktails for the occasion and was extremely knowledgeable on the wines and beers made at Cupitt's, telling us how they were crafted, what foods they suited and everything else in between! His enthusiasm and personality and obvious pride in his craft definitely added to a flawless evening. Cupitt's is certainly one of THE BEST restaurants to visit on the South Coast!

Excellent food and absolutely great service. We are already planning a return visit.

Highly recommend a visit to the restaurant here and the other options looked quite nice also. While being new years day they had a set menu, the set menu had more options than any other set menu I have previously experienced. Glad I went with the option of the wine pairings as they had chosen wines that had complimented the dishes quite well. The food itself was perfect and nobody in our party was disappointed at all. We just had a fantastic weekend at Cupitt's Estate. I can't recommend it highly enough, everything was fantastic. Super comfortable bed and gorgeous skincare products. Our stay included a wine tasting and we also ate at Cupitt's both nights. We came here on the weekend with family while away on holidays. Had a lovely time there. Location is absolutely gorgeous and thankfully the weather was perfect so eating outside was wonderful. Food was amazing. Definitely on the expensive side but understanding an estate like this will have high running costs. Was not disappointed with the food. New and exciting flavours I hadn't tried before and all produce was fresh and well worth the money. The oysters were so fresh I couldn't believe how good they were. I enjoyed both of my cocktails that I ordered and we had no complaints from the kids. Meals came out really quick. We were expecting another 10-15min wait which we don't mind because it was lovely sitting around soaking in all the views.
Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. I left a personal item behind and they kept it for me until I returned the next day to pick up which I was so thankful for. Will definitely be back again and again when we are holidaying in the area.

We enjoyed our two night stay in the cabins and our two meals out here. We did feel the price paid for the accommodation was a little higher than what was delivered, but we still had a lovely stay and enjoyed the little touches like the brekkie hamper. We would have really liked it if the accommodation team had been a bit more responsive with picking up the phone, as we did have some issues with our restaurant bookings not having been made correctly and were unable to reach the team during their open hours. This would have removed some inconvenience for us.

This review is in regard to the tasting tour only. A group of 10 friends visited Cupitt’s Estate over a long weekend spending $60ea for a wine tasting and ‘tour’ that lasted all of 10 minutes sampling 4 wines in the underground cellar, a missed opportunity to encompass the breathtaking surroundings of the estate on a cloudless day of sunshine, the ‘tour’ component consisted of a walk around the back of the building to the shed where everything is processed for an additional few minutes before concluding. The tour represent awful value for money and $10-15ea would be more reasonable.
Otherwise the staff were great, friendly and very hospitable. The venue and location looked like a great place to visit and we would recommend to all if in the area. But skip the tasting, your collective $600 as a group of ten will be much better spent over the bar or restaurant, or likely both at that price tag.

What an amazing experience! We had a 3 course meal with matched wines which was absolutely superb. The service and attention was second to none.
We then stayed in one of the pods, which again was magic! The fitout and attention to detail.. and the fridge stocked with all the right things.
Our only regret was that it was only one night. I guess we need to come back soon and do it all over again.

We had a terrific experience. Highly recommend having a wine tasting then lunch and then staying overnight in one of the pods. A relaxing way to while away an afternoon and evening without kids. The wine tasting that was included with the accommodation was a highlight and we would like to thank Amanda for the stories and conversation as well as the wine. Being seated on the deck and watching the weather roll in while eating and drinking away the afternoon was only topped by the amount of water that suddenly fell from the sky. The team in the restaurant and the accommodation staff were friendly and went that extra step to create a memorable weekend. There was even a little breakfast hamper for the morning. Thank you all.

We had lunch in the restaurant. The food was amazing, especially the pasta with prawns entree. The flavour! Service was excellent. Wine fabulous. The venue is superb, including the cellar door and gourmet shop. It would have been perfect if the cheese for desert came in a slightly larger piece, or included two different cheeses - loads of crackers but little cheese. But overall an amazing lunch and we'll definitely be back!

We went to Cupitt’s Estate for my husband’s birthday and it was a memorable experience. The accommodation pod we stayed in was absolutely beautiful! We had a warm greeting of a personalized handwritten note, fresh bread and delicious snacks awaiting our arrival. The pod was impeccably clean with beautiful decorations and artwork, and an extremely comfortable bed with big clean pillows in the bedroom. The views over the farmland were stunning. The restaurant offers lovely views across the vineyard and our 3-course dinner in the restaurant was delicious coupled with friendly attentive service.

Visited the estate with a group of ten for a hen’s weekend activity and had a lovely time from start to finish. The staff were attentive and service was impeccable, the estate itself is stunning. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the winemakers and the estate during our wine tasting and the banquet lunch had generous portions of delicious food. There was no issue catering to one person in the group having dietary needs which was much appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We made the most of the incredible value of the Cupitt's Stay & Celebrate package to duck away for 1 night for our oft-neglected wedding anniversary this week and couldn't have had a more luxurious and perfectly rejuvenating romantic break.
The accommodation suites are just glorious- the original artworks, the enormous 2 person bath on the deck, the super comfy bed, the delicious house made sourdough, the sparkling wine on ice on arrival and the beautiful landscaped gardens and sunny outlook from our private deck was just what was needed.
Lunch the next day was all part of the package and we made the most of the paired wines, local seasonal produce, beautiful oysters and great views.
We have had so many special long lunches, friends weddings and visits to sample the house made beers, wines and cheeses over the years- but this was my favourite trip yet- and such great value.
Thanks Team Cupitts for bringing such an incredible offering to the South Coast. The whole thing is just so well executed- the details really matter and make the whole thing just so enjoyable.
1 night get-aways for this price- why the hell don't we do this more often?! Will be back- just loved the whole thing.

Not sure how there are over 1000 good reviews on this place.
Service was really friendly but they served one entree the wrong dish and forgot a salad we ordered.
Oysters not cold enough
Octopus entree sauce good flavour, octopus itself too tough
Kingfish entree basically flavourless
Steak main, tasty cut but overcooked and served with random undressed greens
Main eggplant pasta was probably the best although quite sweet and under salted.
Desert was fantastic and papered over the cracks

This was the perfect mini-break. The room (pod) was just lovely with outstanding views of the valley and the moving tapestry of cows and calves. The bath with bubbles was a delight. Dinner was perfect ... and the breakfast hamper quite fine. Particularly appreciated the single use drip coffee bags. Our wine tasting was informative and delightful - really enjoyed the conversation too. So all in all - five stars.

Fantastic service from the moment of booking until check out including the afternoon spent in the sun at the restaurant enjoying drinks and food. The view from the balcony whilst enjoying a huge double bath was exceptional and everything about the stay was first class - would highly recommend treating yourself to an afternoon and night at Cupitts! Very impressed with every aspect.

Had lunch on New Year’s Eve here at Dusty's Garden Bar. The location is beautiful overlooking the vineyard, live music and the staff we all prompt and friendly. We ordered two cocktails - both of which were overly sweet, so then followed with beers, which they had a nice selection of. The food was delicious and service was prompt. When we finished we tasted their brut in the tasting room and it was absolutely delicious. It was a lovely way the end the year

Cupitt’s Estate definitely exceeded our expectations, not that we thought it was going to be bad at all. From Dusty Gardens with great live music to our impeccable suite with the outdoor bathtub, we loved everything. The service and food was exceptional. It was the perfect place to celebrate my one year anniversary. The attention to detail of the whole area was fantastic and I would highly recommend for couples looking for a weekend getaway. I would definitely love to come back in the future.
Booderee National Park is a coastal park that offers visitors access to a range of amenities including beaches, botanic gardens, campsites, and trails. The park is equipped with BBQ areas and a visitor centre. Visitors can purchase their passes online to avoid queues, and the system uses number plates for identification purposes. The park has various trails that lead to different viewing points, such as Cave Beach which is highly recommended by many.
Every year I come here to visit the beach, and never been disappointed. Buy your pass online so you beat the queue, trust me they run your number plate so you don’t have to ask for a windshield sticker.
After trekking through the trails you might spot a couple of amazing places to set up base and hit the beach … my personal fave is Cave Beach (but the other access trail). Some spots have showers, others don’t … be sure to map out ahead and bring water/sunscreen because it gets hot quick.

It was an amazing experience. At the entrance you should pay for a permit that last 2 days. We saw the botanical garden and cave beach within this park. You always can see kangaroos here in the park.

Crystal clear sand and scenic beaches. There is entry fee of 13$ and camping sites are present inside the national Park. Can see wallabies roaming around near caves beach. And a beautiful sunset lookout point as well near caves beach.

We were here as tourists from Europe. But I would definitely come here often if I lived in Syd or closed by in Australia. I would recommend to stay here 1-2 night to have relaxed family holiday time.
The beach is great, with orange color beside blue and white sand. There are shadows to stay in the shade. There are walking trails in the forest. It’s great to walk under the trees, and looking out to the see. There are many kangaroos and birds, and botanic gardens…

We stayed at Green Patch in the Y section and the campsites were great! Not too many people, as the campsites aren't on top of each other and felt private as you had trees surrounding you. Was very beautiful to camp here despite getting downpours every night. The surrounds at Jervis bay were very good too with beautiful beachs and lots of kangaroos to see. Would definitely recommend coming to Jervis Bay but specifically Green Patch and Y section!

The entrance fee costs $13 bucks and headed out to one of the beaches but a bit disappointed cause of the seaweeds all over, so annoying to swim even though the water was clear. It’s good for camping and hiking trails or even for picnic. The beach scenery was terrific and felt like it’s your own private beach resort when there’s not too much crowd.

Beautiful with a lot of signs around the tracks to make sure you know witch area you were at. Plenty of restrooms and tables for a nice picnic! Loved it

We had a great time exploring the National park even on a cold and rainy day! We went to the botanic gardens and saw kangaroos. We also went to cave beach where we could see kangaroos even closer to us. The lighthouse is cool. My favorite place was Murray’s beach!

BooDeere national park has several walking tracks, multiple beautiful white sand beaches, wildlife and also botanical gardens… you need a full day to cover the national park. Park also offers camping sites and the main entry is guarded all the time. If you are not camping in the park, you need to leave the main entry by 8 pm in the evening. We loved the beaches, walks, and seeing beautiful birds, kangaroos and even a koala very close and in open. If you are going to jervis bay, you must do the national park…

Great national park with so so much to offer! We were unfortunate not to have a sunny day - but we still enjoyed an amazing hike on Murrays Circuit, a great picnic at Murrays beach and the outstanding views at Cave Beach.
The beaches are fantastic and there’s plenty of great spots to surf, snorkel, walk or just chill and enjoy the wildlife!
Make sure to buy your pass in advance - then it’s just an easy drive through!

Stunning natural beauty, a photographers dream landscape. Camping facilities are clean and well kept. Hot and cold water. Kangaroos, wild birds, and the whitest sand in the world. The Rangers are friendly and informative, definitely worth having a yarn with about Aboriginal Culture. 10/10

Beautiful beaches in the national park and definitely great for a day visit. I'm only giving a low review as they are really unreasonable with their refund policy. They refused to allow us to rebook despite their being over 200mm of rainfall on over this weekend, whereas other operators will allow you to rebook. I would only book at short notice with clear weather if you are planning to camp here.

$13 to enter per vehicle. Many places to see. Just ask the cashier in the booth for interesting places to visit. Nice beach and nice view. Petted kangaroos. No whales.

Beautiful national park. Several beaches, picnic areas, walking trails and also a botanic garden. I can get quite busy on summer or holidays. Some of the carparks were full when we visited, but still manage to visit some beautiful places. Park has several restrooms and drinking water taps. I will definitely come back.
Located in the City of Shoalhaven, New South Wales, Australia and situated on the coast of Jervis Bay is Hyams Beach. With a population of 112 according to the 2016 census, this village offers a serene seaside experience.
Dolphin Watch Cruises Jervis Bay offers a 90-minute cruise that takes visitors into the heart of Jervis Bay to search for its 100 resident bottlenose dolphins. While dolphin sightings are not guaranteed, the chances of spotting them from a boat are higher than from the shore. The tour provides educational value as well, with informative commentary about Jervis Bay from the captain. Additionally, passengers can enjoy fantastic ocean views during the cruise.
Great cruise, nice and slow to allow us to enjoy the view of the bay. Captain was informative. We didn't see the dolphins on the first trip and was able to return 2 day later and saw the dolphins then. The dolphins swam right up to the boat for great photos.

The staff are really helpful and friendly, we saw lots of dolphins, well worth the money. Only downfall is how packed the boat was and people were pushing other people trying to see. Still was a great morning regardless
Laura Richards — Google review
We had a great time on the dolphin cruise. Unfortunately, there were no dolphins out and about on the day we went, but mother nature is impossible to predict. Please ignore any reviews that complain that there are no dolphins. It's a great outing whether the dolphins decide to come out or not. The boat trip with commentary around the bay is a great outing in its own right.

We were unlucky as we din't see any whales nor dolphins, but the crew was extremely good and overall it was fun, very high waves and all together a different experience.Avoid eating anything before you board as you may feel sick on wharf as its kind of sea sickness overall good experience.

Cruise is good, we have done it twice now and both the times We were lucky enough to see a big pod of dolphins. At least for an hour time they keep spotting and following dolphins. Only thing to keep in mind is, reach the venue to start cruise atleast 30 minutes prior because pier from where cruise leaves is little walk from the booking shop.
Markande Shruti — Google review
A very entertaining boat ride, with a very concise commentary by the captain about the dolphins, also the knowledge of the habits of the dolphins. It was very entertaining with the lowering of the net on the rear of the boat so people can get refreshed from the waves. A very good boat ride.

We had an advance booking, came here, waited for half an hour at the site where it had a big fat board that said cruise at 11.30 am.. only to learn at 11.30 that it departs from another Wharf. Had called them twice before but they never attended to the calls on 4441 6311. Visited their office at 50 Owen St which DOES NOT EXIST, only a board that says Dolphin and Whale watching. To add to the woes - we managed to reach the right place 10 minutes before boarding only to find an unorganised queue waiting to get in. Bunch of rude crew who didn't seem to understand how to assist us. We had a booking confirmation for Dolphin watch cruise. The crew member told us the company had merged with another company and instantly I foresaw that this is going to be worse than I thought. They couldn't find our booking number and kept blaming Adrenaline for some technical issue, apparently not realising it could have something to do with their system. A lady crew member offered us a spot with the next cruise 2 hours later. But what I fail to understand she could have let us in with this one too.. like she did let another couple get in!! Double standards much? Such an unhappy experience after making an advance booking and driving all the way from Sydney just for this.

Great experience! It'd be even better if everyone gets a seat on the ship. Standing for 2 hours straight was a bit much for me, but catching a glimpse of the dolphins made it all worthwhile.

We had such an unpleasant time on the dolphin cruise today. We didn’t see any dolphins and were told they hadn’t seen dolphins for the last few days. Why do they call it a dolphin cruise if they miss them more often than not? They didn’t seem like they had any idea where to look for dolphins or like they were even trying to find dolphins. Do they not have any tools to locate the dolphins? I’ve been on plenty of these dolphins cruises in other countries that always found dolphins and seemed to know what they were doing.
On top of the lack of dolphin sighting and perhaps even more disappointing was the poor attitude of the captain named Richard. He was unhappy from the second we boarded the boat. He started the cruise with a negative announcement about how we probably wouldn’t find any dolphins today and they couldn’t leave the straight line that we cruised in and out of because of the waves (the water conditions were fine). Then he came out of his cabin twice to tell off the people standing above him for stomping. They weren’t; they were just standing there, not even moving around. They slowed down the cruise for around 30 minutes to allow the people who paid extra to use the boom net to go in. Why are they combining a dolphin cruise with boom netting? We are meant to be cruising to looking for dolphins. At the end of the cruise, he continued blowing the horn at kayakers who were trying to cross. Generally captains give information, make jokes, and have a positive demeanor. He didn’t do any of those things.
It was easily the worst cruise I’ve ever been on. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone even if we had seen dolphins. An absolute waste of time and money.

Fun day out in the cruise to spot some cute dolphins! Tickets are sold online or you can also get tickets directly in the shop. Once purchased, they will sent an email confirmation of the tickets. Just tell the name of the person who purchased the tickets in order to board the ship. The dolphin watch cruise is one an a half hour's time. We didn't manage to get the morning session 1030am tickets so we got on the 1pm cruise. We manage to spot just s few dolphins so I guess the dolphins are less active in the afternoon. Food and drinks are welcome onboard so do pack some light snacks if needed.

BE ON TIME! If you are late from boarding time, the sailor WILL LEAVE YOU! We watched as the sailor left people behind because they arrived at time of leaving instead of 15 minutes early.
The cruise itself is nice, the caption tours you around and tells you cool information. The net bed is also cool and fun with family and friends.
Also, if you don't end up seeing any dolphins, like we didn't despite being on for two hours, they give you credit to come again which is good.

Too expensive when you are not guaranteed dolphin experience. The cruise do not have any food for dolphin to come close to ship. You can go to Murray beach and view dolphin from very close when they pass from there after some time
Captain Dave was brilliant - fun little crossing over to Husky with the kids. Dave even let our little one drive for a bit! Great for avoiding the drive and a really fun experience. Cash only (we forgot but paid on way back - no hassle!)

My partner and I really struck the jackpot, what a beautiful day, no winds, blue skies, calm seas and a happy crowd. Dolphins would be the bonus. The vessel was roomy and had great seating and viewing areas and was very comfortable as we started our search for Dolphins. The cruising was great very relaxing, after about an hour we found a pod of dolphins and again we were blessed. A large pod had mustered up a huge school of fish and as the fish boiled the water surface dolphins took their turns at getting their fill. We stayed and watched for a while and then started heading for Huskisson harbour, our vessel was quickly escorted by several dolphins for ages, a pleasure to watch. Even our puppies were able to join us for the outing. Good value for money, the other cruises also look fun.

We did the 2 hour bay passage tour, smaller crowd but so much more to see and learn about around the whole bay. We went in afternoon and even with a a bit of swell, the smaller boat was able to venture into the smaller beaches and hidden bays all the way around to the Navy base. Dean and Jack were relaxed, professional and informative. We saw a huge pod of dolphins without having to compete for space around the boat aswell. Not sure its for smaller kids as they might get bored easily not appreciating the landscape and being on the confined surroundings for 2 hours. Glad we chose to do this cruise instead of the huge crowded dolphin one. Take a bottle of water to quench your thirst and the undercover is brilliant to still feel the sea spray on your face.

Great adventure and such adrenaline rush. Wonderful and friendly crew. The captain was great and all other staffs. You enter with your booking details and it’s pram friendly as well since we had an infant with us. Some food options too but food will be the last thing in your mind while on sea. Great facilities if you feel sick and ample number of life jackets. Sadly for us, the sea was very rough that day and we couldn’t find any whales. The captain couldn’t risk to go further into the sea. Great experience with no result but will definitely go back with the team❤️

Ride back was fab!!!
Assured us we were safe so we stayed in top deck and was magical….
Sea spray, riding with the waves, literally so much fun

Oh my goodness! Excellent experience in everyway on our whale watching cruise.
We saw 4 whales, dolphins & a random seal. We were a family of 5. With kids 10 y.o; 3 y.o and 4 months. It was a very large boat with places to sit inside in the shade and two levels to sit on up top. Bring a hat for all! Also Recommended taking a baby carrier for little ones; so your hands are free to help you move around the boat.
The staff are absolutely amazing. Kristy is a legend and so was our skipper of the day. All lovely people. Can even enjoy a beer on the boat.

High quality dolphin watch cruise and drift netting experience 🐬. Enjoyed our afternoon out on the water.
Friendly and cheerful tour guide/captain who shared some tidbits about both whales and dolphins and managed to find a couple of each for us to appreciate out in the open water.
Took us back in along the shore line and pointed out afew of the local beaches and shared some local knowledge as well in regards to the area.
My only regret was not being quick enough to capture the wildlife in film.
Thank you for the experience 😊

It was an amazing experience, hands down one of the best things I've done. Our viewing was severely restricted due to an ongoing naval exercise in the area, however the effort and passion of the captain & crews were amazing and in the end we did manage to see some Whales.
The captain even exceeded the tour timing just so that we could see the whales longer, since the whales only came out nearing the end while we were heading back. We were all really appreciative of his gesture.
On top of that, the captain's commentary is really funny and he has a great sense of humour. We were enjoying the boat ride thanks to him even though the first part was wet and gloomy due to the weather and not being able to see any whales.
