Fossil preparation area & paths through recreated scenes, including a stampede of small dinosaurs.
Such a life-changing experience! I’m so glad that they decided to keep this collection in Winton. If you’re trying to decide whether you want to do this tour or not… take my words- DO IT! Absolutely incredible. Also- how amazing being able to experience a live fossil lab where the magic happens!

Really good tour. Well worth the drive. There were 5 separate tours at the site and well organized. Each site had its own unique aspect and the walkway was beautiful with really nice views. Amazing to see the actual work on the fossils by volunteers. Great to see the work they are doing to preserve the fossils.
Robert Lee — Google review
A really special place and a must visit if you’re in the area. Seriously amazing seeing the famous dinosaur fossils when you think about how old they are. We were there scouting the location for Amazing Race Australia so got access to the building where they work on and store some seriously seriously cool bones and fossils. 100% check this place out
Ben King — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Beautiful views from the top of the jump up. Loads of wildlife to be seen. Informative and fascinating tours. Our 7 year old loved it, and learnt so much. You don’t get that experience in the classroom.
If you haven’t been, you need to get there!
We purchased tickets online, so they knew we were coming. If you were going in peak time (dry season) I’d definitely book online on the website to make sure you don’t miss out
Angela Markby — Google review
This place is amazing! Very interactive and engaging. There's a lot of information to take in but the tour guides were all knowledgeable and enthusiastic and super friendly. Our kids 10, 8 and 5 loved the whole experience. The facilities are top class and perched atop the "jump up" have the most incredible views of the area. Well worth the money and give yourself a good half day (or more if you're able) to take it all in and enjoy the place.
Mark Pollard — Google review
This is a stunning place to visit. Set on the edge of a "Jump Up" about 12kms from Winton, the scenery to the west is spectacular. And the buildings themselves are also architecturally brilliant, blending perfectly with the stunning landscape. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the tour. We left with a significantly improved understanding of Australian Dinosaurs, and a real admiration for the volunteers, scientists and other contributors who have put this centre together. Highly recommended and well worth the price of admission. I suggest you arrive early and do all three tours on the same day.
Roger Stonehouse — Google review
What an amazingly well presented unique australian experience. So well done, our 10 year old was in his element. Guides were obviously so passionate about their work and we learnt so much about this country's prehistoric life. Loved our visit. Allow at least 3 hours to do the tours and explore the site.
Rae C — Google review
Fantastic, well presented and informative dinosaur exhibits. The three tours of the specimen prep area, the specimen area and the dinosaur track way are excellent. The tours are very popular so best to book in advance.
Steve Middleton — Google review
Excellent staff knowledge and service. Extensive grounds. Thorough introduction to dinosaur fossils. Treated like VIP all morning. Well worth a visit.
Stella Guy — Google review
Amazing. We were a touch late for the 1pm tour and Tanya organised for Peter to start our own private tour to then meet up with the next group. This amazing gesture meant we didnt miss out on any part. Even without this, Peter was an amazing guide, funny, engaging and very informative. Silky (sorry if this is wrong) finished the last part of the tour and again was very informative and engaging.
Well worth the money to get in. Thanks guys

This experience has been on my bucket list since it opened and it did not disappoint!
Whilst weather impacted on our being able to visit Lark Quarry, I think we’ll be back! One teenager who is really interested in the dig-a-Dino experience.
Thank you to the team who went above and beyond to move our visit around weather conditions and just their general passion for the job and all things Dino’s. Considering they deliver the same tour hundreds of times each season, it was like we were the first group to hear the story.
Thanks again for a great visit.

Had a great day doing the Ultimate Experience. Was fantastic to be able to see and actually touch real dinosaur bones! Staff and guides all friendly and knowledgeable

An excellent museum with great information explained excellently by the tour guides. A world class centre, very impressed. A great incentive to visit Winton. An affordable snack and coffee bar, along with a good range of touristy memorabilia.

Fantastic educational experience, even if your not right int dinosaurs it’s definitely worth a visit. Incredibly interesting and informative, set in an incredibly scenic location on top of a jump up with fantastic views. Great informative displays from watching and learning the process of extracting the fossils from the matrix. The fossil presentation and display is very informative and interesting. The out door walks, displays, facilities and and vistas are both beautifully well done and very interesting. The restaurant is a magic setting. It’s only 10mins off the road about 12 km south of Winton.

The Waltzing Matilda Centre in Winton, Australia, is a modern facility that pays homage to the beloved Australian ballad "Waltzing Matilda" by A.B. Paterson. The center features interactive exhibits, a cafe, and a theater for visitors to immerse themselves in the story of the swagman as told in the iconic song. With a cost of $3.
A must visit when in Winton! Amazing architecture and a range of different exhibits. It was wonderful learning more about Banjo Paterson and the history behind the song Waltzing Matilda. 🩷
Brooke Robertson — Google review
Fantastic exhibition. The original manuscript of WM was the absolute highlight. Full of information about the history of the region. The health related exhibit was a personal favourite.

Lovely building with wifi and air conditioning, which is greatly appreciated. A.B Patterson has a beautiful story and it's well worth a visit.

Great spot to visit. Would've like a bit more on Banjo Patterson but the information surrounding the song and the history of the Winton area was very good. Allow a couple of hours to fully enjoy

What a wonderful experience to go through this amazing new centre. The displays are fantastic and there's so much to see. We wondered at our leisure and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Coffee and a toastie at the Tuckerbox cafe which was lovely. Coffee is great and the girls serving are so friendly and happy. Worn of their feet and still smiling. A must do in Winton 👍👍👍👍👍

One of the 'must do' places to visit when in Winton. If you're looking for an insight into not just the history of Australia's most famous song, but Australia's pioneer and contemporary film history, especially in relation to the Winton area, this is the place to go.
James Douglas — Google review
Considering they lost everything in a fire in 2015, the new museum is pretty special.
A lot of work has gone into the design of the building. Also, the compilation of information & items is just incredible.
Well worth a visit & you should come away singing Waltzing Matilda.

Due to having the Matilda Centre burnt down twice I feel alot of history has been lost. What is on display is great

We really enjoyed the Waltzing Matilda Centre. Interactive exhibits kept the children entertained and every part prompted thought and raised questions, then answered them.
We were so captivated we had to come back the next day to see everything.

We visited the original centre before the tragic fire. This new centre is amazing. So much information, great photos, displays and friendly staff. Love the new building. Great coffee too.
Kim Catton — Google review
We went through the centre a few years ago, before it burnt down. Very happy with the new centre, we think it is much better. It is also much easier to read the descriptions of each exhibit, better lighting, larger print. Well done Winton.

Another outstanding contribution to our history in outback Qld. This state of the art museum is dedicated to our unofficial Australian anthem and is well worth stopping in.
With well presented interactive displays and a self paced tour through the museum and art gallery there was so much to see. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Altogether a 10 out of 10!

A must stop when visiting the Flinders area. The lady on the information desk was so helpful. Nice to see someone with such enthusiasm for their town and district, a real credit to her. Found the museum interesting and informative, couple of short movies very interesting. Displays informative and great area for kids to explore as well. Thanks also for the free camp area handy to town and local attractions.

Small museum but interesting collection especially the map of AU over 100 million years ago where Perth was connected to Anatarctica and outback QLD was an inland sea. Interesting that SA and VIC were also connected to Antarctica.
There is a dinosaur replica of Muttaburrasaurus.
There’s a 5.50 per adult head entrance and merchandise. The lady was very helpful too.
OurBigLapAU2022 — Google review
Good little place to see dinosaurs. Not sure on the price though. Thought $20 per adult was a bit high

Unfortunately the Discovery Centre of the Dinosaur wasn't open as the are redoing it, but the lovely lady at the information section was very helpful, lots of souvenirs from around the area.

A really good exhibit with simple explanation. The centre is partly under development currently & will be better again when complete

Excellent centre ... def worth a visit. Hughenden is very progressive town - noted ev chargers - and council offer a free camping ground by the notable coolibah tree for those with their own services (toilet, generator etc).
Lorraine Hird — Google review
Super interesting museum with videos of interviews with locals from Hughenden which gave it a really nice personal touch.
Louise Marks — Google review
I want to rate this higher but just can not. The site had limited items and lots of the stuff on display was from other parts of the world such as South Africa or some other location. The video was average and just the experience wasn’t worth the extra drive. We went to
Richmond and Winton for the other tours and found those great but when got here was disappointing maybe after seeing the other sites this one was just very average. People were helpful and nice in the info centre so that was good. I guess some of the items were not on display as they are upgrading but really not sure what else they could do.
Robert Lee — Google review
We had a good chat to the very nice & knowledgeable staff member Tilly.
Lots of fossiles, thunder eggs etc, info about sheep shearing/ sheeps & strikes, kids friendly play area , great film about Porcupine Gorge, great souvenir shop
Art trail - very interesting & clever installations
OTR19vantravellingaustralia — Google review
Staff here friendly and helpful. The museum is not as extensive as Richmond or those in Winton and it’s a long way to get here. They do have a full size skeleton model which puts these animals in perspective.
The staff will happily tell you about the sight-seeing options like the ancient Porcupine Gorge and the Mt Walker lookouts.
For travelers, sadly what they don’t tell you is that the 60kph zones extended WAY out of town (particularly the south/east side) and so far that you think you’ve missed the signs. Also it’s easy to miss them in the way in and there are CAMERAS right on the spot. Doing 70+kph in a 60 zone is expensive in Qld.
Ron Hoskin — Google review
Informative and interesting place, not a big collection and only one complete model - that of Muttaburrasaurus.
Very cheap $5.00 entry.
The airconditioning was not working the day we were there so it was VERY hot and uncomfortable.
Philip Moses — Google review
Nicely laid out, small museum with an entry fee of $5.50 per person. They have some small fossils from all around the world as well as some from the local area like varying teeth, shells, molluscs and fish. They also have some beautiful fossilised timbers and very colourful rocks of many varieties. There is also a short video on the formation of the Porcupine Gorge over 500 million years period.
They also have a full size replica of a Muttaburrasaurus named 'Hughie'.
There is also a section in the museum on the history of Hughenden.
Beautiful view. Location is peaceful. Campsites look great. Whole area is clean. Drop loos. Take rubbish away with you. Byo water.

Great place to visit. If I'd taken my walking stick with me, I would have done the 1.1km walk down into the Gorge.
It's a nice, easy 60 kms from Hughenden, on a sealed road all the way.

What a place, ancient landscape, the gorge is absolutely beautiful, the views from the lookout viewing plate for are fantastic, the colours in the rock walls and the shadows make for a spectacular colour array, sunrise and sunset in particular are beautiful

1mins walk then you will have this awesome gorges view.
Rex Yu — Google review
Most people visit Porcupine Gorge because they happen to be driving past from north to central QLD. Even though it is a bit off the beaten track it’s definitely worth a trip just to experience the gorge. It’s a very geologically significant area, an awesome outback swimming spot, has great outback camping and awesome vistas and photo opportunities. There’s a good walk down to the river achievable by most, lots of Australian wildlife. Although the road is dirt, it is usually accessible by 2wd.
Jason Adams (Jase) — Google review
If you are passing through, definitely worth stopping to see the view of Australia's "Little Grand Canyon"! Awesome place to visit for nature lovers!
Raven — Google review
Take the time to drive in the 2km to this spectacular Gorge. Who would have believed something to this depth would be just off the road. If driving through The Lynd or Hughenden, do yourself a favour & come see this place. A 70 metre drop is phenomenal, doesn't seem much when saying it but if you stand near the edge, it's horrifying🫣🫣. Totally loved it & made it the highlight of our trip🦔🏞💛🧡💛
Lee Butler — Google review
Best time of day for photos would be bang on midday so the sun is shining down into the gorge.
Best vantage point is from the track on the left of the viewing platform.
Not much water down the bottom today.
Bitumen the entire way from Hughenden which was a nice drive and a wheelchair/pram friendly concrete path from the carpark.
Keira Nicolls — Google review
Amazing views, lots to wonder with incredible geology, extremely accessible for any fitness level from carpark, it's a 1 minute walk.
Wish had more time to venture around into the ridge itself or go for a swim on the pools below.

A short 65km - 46 minutes drive from Hughendon . The first stop is the lookout where you can view over the gorge. If you want to be adventurous and walk down to the bottom you drive on to the camping area about 11km further .
The walk down is 1.1km from the top with the walk up the same path 1.2km ??. (Maybe allows the extra distance to sit under cover after you have climbed back up ). There was not a lot of water at the bottom at the moment but the walk down was worth it. When the is more water it’s a great place to swim apparently . I will say you need to be reasonably active to climb back up the steps/path ! I’m 61 and still managed it comfortably .
Well worth visiting the little Grand Canyon in the area.
Greg C — Google review
Only a 5 minute walk from the car park space. Amazing look out viewing deck. 10km from Pyramid campground but this is a must see to believe.
Robert Mitchum — Google review
The place is not very famous I think, but I enjoy it more than Uluru, the view is breathtaking, and the 1.5 km track is definitely memorable. We spend a lot of time near the creek, have a long walk with our bare feet on the white rocks and explore around.
Weijie Zhou — Google review
An incredible place to stop and admire the dramatic view. We stayed up the road at Pyramid campground which has a steep track that enters the gorge with just enough water to cool down in at the end of October.

OMG what an fantastic experience we had here. The guide Jason gave us a private tour of the lsva tubes and filled our heads with all wonderful knowledge of how they were formed. We had a great half day tour and I encourage anyone if they have tje time to go and explore them.

A beautiful and ancient place lots of hiking trails. Didn’t stay at Discovery because choosing to give my money to local small business rather than investment groups to fund others. Not happy about having to pay for a tour to Discovery Undara Experience which monopolises on the experience however it was necessary for safety apparently. Guide was informative however wasn’t open to questions and glossed over and minimised First Nations genocide history and then blamed them for not retaining knowledge. Suggested we know better now with science compared to their spiritual dream time stories albeit Qld is full of spiritual religious Christian’s who intelligently follow their own Dreamtime stories! There was a small film crew on tour doing a brochure n video for Discovery so I’d think today they would want to acknowledge using correct terminology rather than minimising language but truth is always harder to present and better to cotton wool genocide n murder and displacement and theft. A well performed tour. If you have a family it’s costly, I paid $60 for Wind Tunnel and some pay a $100 which if I had a family I’d skip and look at others pics and do the walks instead. Nice well marked tracks, short and long eg Rosella Loop which was really good walk lots of views n diversity across landscapes and not hard. Guide said can do it in 6-7 hours, Parks n Wildlife have it as 4-6, online experienced hikers said 3-4, i did it in 3.5 with starting the Bluff walk anticlockwise then onto the old hut track then onto the Rosella clockwise ending at Atkinsons lookout which I had done 2 days earlier which is then a short walk back to start. Do the crater walk as well it’s in your left as you drive from turn off however it is an ungraded 7km road with serious corrugating which I did besides being in my 2wd Hyundai slowly in, fast out lol 😂 I would like to see some grading or gravelling of that road but obviously Discovery don’t own that and Parks N Wildlife do, they need to improve it to align with the rest of the Undara Experience. I didn’t stay there, I didn’t buy anything there I’m over large companies taking over small business. It would be great if more employment opportunities were afforded to the descendants of the First Nations from this region however due to QLDs treatment of them in the past as he put it “dispersed” and the overt racism by many Australians they would be better to start their own corporations and take full control and ownership like in many places in NT. Take only what you need give more than you get!

Two of us enjoyed both-tours on 28 September, Wind Tunnel tour and Sunset tour.
The adventurous Wind Tunnel Tour was with very knowledgeable tour guide Brett. Unlike the Archway tour on boardwalk, this is more physical accessing the tunnel, scrambling over rocks with steep descends at times.
Inside of the tunnel formed 190,000 years back was marvellous; Brett explained the life cycle of insects-bats-snakes living in the tunnel.
We did not see any wildlife inside the tunnel, except for a skeleton of a kangaroo lying on a corner of the tunnel floor.
We were to visit Undara in April, but it wasn’t possible as the site was closed due to flooding; Brett noted that this year (2023) the rains were exceptionally heavy, 2500mm during the season where normally it was around 400mm.
Brett on our wayback explained the history of how two privately owned lands acquired by the government to establish the national park in 1990 as it stands today. One owner of the original land negotiated to run the business of Undara Lodge for visitors until change hands last year end of the permit period (now managed by Discovery Parks).
Unfortunately we did not have much luck seeing many wildlife (they appeared to have taken a day-off, hahaha) during the Sunset tour, however we enjoyed the snacks and champagne provided. Our tour guide David was knowledgeable although only three weeks at this place.
Following the Sunset tour we had our dinner at the restaurant; Barramundi fish with steamed vegetables was fantastic; very happy with the services at the restaurant.
We stayed two nights in a railway carriage; beautifully converted to living accommodation with ensuite; very thoughtfully designed. However it is our view that some improvements may be needed to the facilities in the carriage.
We also immensely enjoyed the Bush Breakfast on the same day; fascinated by toasting bread on real fire; never experienced that before. And bush-tea and coffee prepared by very talented young Harvey. We also had the opportunity to chat with the very experienced Manager of the Undara Discovery who was at the breakfast, who noted that there’s lots of improvements are in the pipeline over the next 10 years.
The map we received on the walking trails around the lodge isn’t great. The trails are colour-coded on the map; these are expected to be identified on the trails with colour-coded triangles installed on to trees/ rocks; but they aren’t always; either colours are faded away or triangles aren’t there at all. We went to the Bluff; we came back to the lodge on a different route as we inadvertently missed the turn to the original route.
We also visited Kalkani crater; approx 7km on gravel road to the picnic area from the sealed road, approximately 500m to the top and 2km around the rim of the crater. The 7km gravel road wasn’t in good condition for cars, appeared not graded for some time, heavily-corrugated surface.
We must make a note of Michelle, who we talked with when we made the booking; very helpful and knowledgeable (while the website wasn’t). We as residents of QLD received a discount on accommodation - thanks Michelle.

My mate and I absolutely loved this tour. It was totally amazing to see how big the lava tubes are. I would recommend this to anybody who is ok with walking over and around large rocks. We went through Bedrock Caravan park. Our guides name was David, he was very knowledgeable.

We spent a few days here as when we were planning our trip this was one of the places we wanted to stop at. It was great going on the tour and looking at the lava tubes and how they formed over the years.
We had our caravan so it made the trip a lot easier and cheaper than being in a cabin. It is a place I would only visit once as I feel it did not offer a lot for people to do.
Sonya Hunt — Google review
Undara Experience was a remarkable place, from the short walk up to the top of the crater to the thrilling exploration of the large and beautiful lava tubes, this is an awe-inspiring destination that is not to be missed.
The guided tours were our favourite, we recommend booking a sunset tour, followed by a morning tour to the archway tube, both easily accessible from the park.
Our guide was fantastic, with exceptional knowledge and enthusiasm, making our tour a unique experience.
The Undara settlement is a perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature, with bushwalks to extinct volcanoes and small swimming pool available for use.
All in all, I highly recommend visiting Undara Experience, which has been well managed and kept clean, with great tours and attractive facilities for an authentic outback experience!

Booked last minute to get on a Lava Tubes tour, worth every cent! The tour guide provided interesting and informative facts about the volcanic region and all care was taken to ensure our safety and comfort during the 2 hour tour. Saw microbats and a Mareeba Rock Wallaby which made our day. The bar had a large range of cool refreshing drinks to enjoy after the tour.

Fantastic experience!!! We tried to get a tour but it was fully booked, at the last minute we heard that there was a cancellation so we go a tour in the end!!! Thanks 😊 to the staff, for they were lovely, helpful and accommodating. We learned so much about how the tubes formed, the animals, vegetation and much more!!! The guide , Andrew was very knowledgeable and talented!!! It was very well planned and was safe. We did the Archway tour.

What a wonderful place. We booked late and got a quad tent. Clean tidy and comfortable. The guide to the lava tubes was amazing with so much information about the whole area and tubes. The dinners were absolutely fantastic, quick and served in a great area. The bush breakfast is worth the fun ( keeping your food on the plate before the kookaburras steal it). Great for the kids and anyone who has never experienced a real Billy tea. Would thoroughly recommend this for anyone. Great place for kids and a great place to get them unplugged.

A must do in the area but book ahead.! There are 3 tours you can do, one is easy and then 2 more demanding and challenging. (Not to hard, but unlevel rock hops.)
The wind tunnel tour was great.
Guide was very informative.
Tubes were great.
They have a dinning amphitheatre type area with bar. A bit expensive, 2 bangas with mash was $32. (I expected a bit more banga for that...)
The live entertainment was great.!
Camping, glamping and cabins for accommodation. Great stay.
Staff were good, but under the pump in peak times.

Very interesting tour and enjoyed our stay at the van park , we managed to survive with limited internet and no phone and was a very quiet camp, Weather lovely , warm nights , days warmer, the lava tubes are amazing and great to see no rubbish and being kept clean and managed well. Happy to see the visitor numbers down and people not touching and destroying the tubes and area.

The geological history of the lava tubes is fascinating. You will be awestruck by the formations.
I found out about this place by chance and the Qld government should really do more to promote it.
You cannot self tour so make sure you book a guided tour with a Savannah guide through Undara Experience. Well worth it!
I only stopped in for the day but I'm keen to head back for a camping experience there. There is no wifi/reception so make sure you've booked a site before you get there if you want to camp. I had NO PHONE SIGNAL anywhere around the place for about 10 - 15mins heading in there.
Beautiful board walk to the Falls. And a 1.8km walk through the forest to the top of Falls.

Very refreshing swim at bottom of waterfall, plus a beautiful view from the lookout. Looks like a lovely place to camp. However, road leading to waterfall was very bad quality especially if you don’t have a 4X4 - lots of pot holes and very rough.
Also lots of persistent big flies 🪰

Did the sugar mill tour after booking through the Tully Information Centre. It was a peek into the reality of sugar production and as a local that watches the cane being grown and harvested every year it was pretty cool seeing how the process goes right up to the teaspoon of sugar you put in your coffee. I'm not sure how long tours of this sort will continue as WHS is forever shutting interesting stuff down. So even if you're only slightly curious you should go. We were all issued with high Vis vests, helmets and ear pieces so we could hear our guide. She gave a thorough safety briefing prior to the tour and set a relaxed pace allowing everyone the opportunity to get a good look and take photos. This tour is good value for money and provides a unique insight you won't find anywhere else. Bookings are essential, take time to call ahead by about a week to avoid disappointment.

Take the amazing tour through the working Tully Sugar mill! Learned so much about the sugar making process and you get to go right up to all the machinery at work. Thanks to Judy for a wonderful tour. You’ll need to book your tour through the Tully visitor center. Once in a lifetime experience at the only remaining sugar mill in Australia to still offer public tours.

Great Tour, Sara our tour guide was excellent, we learnt a lot, she was very informative and also had a good sense of humour. We highly recommend going on the tour and asking for Sara's Tour. There is a smell from the sugar, but all round the town it smells of the sugar. But please note, you have to book and pay for the tour through the Tully Information Centre in Tully and then you go to the Tully Sugar Mill from there. The Information Centre ladies don't tell you enough, the map is not quite right that you have to follow. They don't tell you where to park your car - so turn into the Mill drive way and go straight ahead till you see the Tour Mill Hut and turn in front of that and find a park behind it somewhere. Also the ladies didn't tell us that you can't take hats, sunglasses, bags or backpacks on the tour, so leave them locked in your car. You can take cameras and you must have covered in shoes. We went back to the information centre after the tour and told them about the map and the lack of information and the very lady that sold me my ticket said "she always tells people all of that, and we should have been told" but Fenella I didn't want to be rude and tell you that you were the one who sold me my ticket and you only told me about covered in shoes and take a camera. It would be good if the Information Centre staff worked in better with those who actually run the tour, as they are the experts.

Well I was so blown away by this tour. So informative, interesting, visually amazing. Kevin our guide was a wealth of information. Never thought Sugar could be so interesting. Something people who enjoy large industrial complexes will fine very very interesting. Highly recommend to everyone. What a great experience

A tour of the Sugar Mill is highly recommended. We walked through the mill, from the trains arriving with the cane right through to the final product being despatched. In this risk-averse world, we were able to experience the process up close! The fact that the Sugar Mill is entirely self-sufficient for power (generating its own) is remarkable. All waste from the cane is recycled into molasses, bagasse and even 'wet' waste is returned to the farms. A good news story and well worth a visit.

What a great tour conducted by Carmel. Plenty of detailed information as you are guided around. Learning the process from farm to raw sugar. The use and recycling of water is eco friendly as well as using cane biproduct as fuel to heat he water. A worthy tour and very informative.

Such a lovely experience! Stopped on the way down from Cairns, I’ve never been to a wine tasting where they were ALL so yummy, and vegan! Lovely lady serving us as well we had a good laugh. Left with a pack of 6 bottles and an ordering form for future. Definitely stop in.
Thank you 😊

Another great visit!
Came here 2 years ago and quite enjoyed the wine tasting
This time I had my mum with me,
Unfortunately she didn't favour the wines, but really enjoyed the liquers and creams on offer!
The Red Emperor and Supherb are very nice! I also love the Mulberry Port, Vanilla Liquer, and the Mocha Cream!
With a cyclone pending at the moment, the weather was very lovely today 😊

Great tropical fruit winery. Very friendly staff, and tasty, unique wines. Not far 9ff the highway either. Highly recommend stopping in, even just for the tastings.

Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable customer service rep who was there by herself and entertained and served at least a dozen people at once. Free wine tasting with little pressure to purchase, though once you try these unique wines, it's hard to decide which ones to leave behind . Beautiful gardens. Must do if driving between Cairns and Townsville.

Very cool place Pam was awesome explained everything we did a tasting ended up buying a couple of bottles of liqueurs 5 dollars for the tasting you get to try about 5 wines 3 different ports and 5 different liqueurs started out as a side business for the cane farmer and have got a heap of awards worth while stopping, we liked the place and we aren’t even wine drinkers

Wow winery...just 2km off the main drag at Silkwood. We loved the lychee white and the passionfruit white wine over Christmas lunch. The banana cream we mixed with the coffee liqueur for Christmas breakfast ...was a wonderful touch for our seasonal family gathering. You must call in here it's a terrific to do place. You pay 5 bucks for the tasting but we ended up with a free bottle of liqueur! Really beautiful

An exotic stop! They do a variety of fruit whites, reds, port and cream. The tasting is $5 pp and redeemable towards a purchase. Pam and Judy were both very helpful and friendly!! Thank you ladies! We Really enjoyed the experience and tastings! Would highly recommend visiting

It was a new experience drinking tropical fruit wines. Very nice and enjoyable! You need to pay $5 for 5 different types of wime tasting. I think it worth holiday time.
I only deduced one star as the staffs were not smiling at all as if they're not happy with their lives. Maybe the weather was too hot😂.

Paronella Park is a tropical oasis situated by creeks and waterfalls, located 50km northwest of Mission Beach. The park boasts Spanish-inspired architecture and vintage hydroelectric generator that adds to its unique charm. Visitors can stroll among the lush foliage, moss-covered steps, and Victorian-Mayan inspired structures that make it reminiscent of a Dali-esque movie set. A night light show adds to the magical atmosphere while an effort has been made to conserve and renovate the park.
Absolutely stunning. The park was recommended to us by another local business and very glad we took their advice. We did the afternoon tour, then the evening tour and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We only got there just in time to catch the last afternoon tour, which we thought would still leave plenty of time prior to the evening tour to begin unfortunately not 😔. Would recommend if time allowing to get a slightly earlier afternoon tour as we just missed a few spots in the garden to explore. Perhaps another 30 minutes?
Owners are doing a great job in bringing history back to life and the staff are fantastic.
Hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did.

Absolutely stunning! We spent most of our afternoon here today and did the evening tour which is definitely worth sticking around for. The whole park is beautiful and there is so much to see! Great to see some restorations happening around the old buildings to keep them around for the next generations to see. Staff are super friendly and it was lovely to meet the owners who are still very much involved and the appreciation they have for the visitors! Highly recommend the visit! The entrance fee is well worth it and you can enter for free for the next 2 years! We will definitely be back..maybe for a night or two next time!

What can I say..... This place is magical!! It has such an amazing back story. All of the guides/staff are fantastic. They are full of knowledge and I highly recommend doing a day time tour. The night light show was nice but you need to do the day tour to understand the history. The caravan park was great. It had very clean modern facilities.

Great, interesting and well set up venue. Very friendly greeting and informative talk. Makes you want to find out the whole story of the park. The night tour put a different perspective on it all. Great to see the owner, Mark , come out to talk to the tour group of their vision for the park and the town in general. In the price of the entrance fee, we stayed at their new caravan park, just behind the pub. Excellent facilities and set up. Will be even better when the trees and shrubs grow higher.

Paronella Park is a captivating destination steeped in history, offering a unique experience for visitors. Despite the cost of getting there, the guided tour and complimentary camping site make it a worthwhile investment. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the park and learning about its rich heritage. Feeding the turtles and fish added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. However, I regret not being able to stay and see the castle illuminated at night due to the drive back to Cairns in the dark. For those interested, staying overnight is highly recommended, with options for cabins or camping available. Overall, Paronella Park is a memorable and enchanting destination.

I loved the night light show. Loved how the owner is so determined to conserve and renovate the park. Make sure you have enough time to walk around, feed the turtles and fishes and take some great pics. It might be worth spending the night if you're into camping.

One of the most enchanting places I've been to in Australia. The story behind it is one of generosity and love. Its just stunningly beautiful. And the accommodation is comfortable, compact, clean and more than adequate. Whilst they don't have shower and toilet in them a spotlessly clean amenities block is 1-2 minutes walk away. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, warm, welcoming, engaging and nothing is a trouble. And they are passionately committed to the park and its ongoing success. The guided tours were plentiful and informative and you could tell the guide had a real commitment to the park and its back story. Will definitely go back again and spend 2 days there to fully explore Paranella Park.

Beautiful location, even in the rain. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and passionate about what they do. They were prepared with umbrellas for all guests and had a well equipped gift shop and cafe. I definitely recommend doing both the day and the night tour. Excellent value for money. They have a car available for people with mobility issues so they don’t have to walk down / up the stairs on the tours. The night tour light show is fantastic. Can’t recommend highly enough. Take some time while you’re in the area and visit this beautiful piece of history.

Got there kind of early, and got a tour of the park with just the 2 of us and the tour guide Megan.
Such a wonderful story behind the park and each place of the park, and Megan was an amazing tour guide.
It is such a beautiful place, I definitely recommend walking shoes if you want to properly explore the whole park. However, you could get by without them.
They also have a small cafe menu with some delicious vegan options and some locally hand-made ice blocks to refresh you after exploring the park.

Very scenic spot. Super polite and helpful staff. Scones are on point. Spent about an hour walking the park. Best parts was probably feeding the turtles and the view of the waterfall from yhe picnic tables.
Only downside is the park is quite far out of the way. Oh and you can stay and camp there if you choose.

What an unusual place. Our tour guide Mandy, fill us in on all the parks history during the day tour as well as the night tour. She explained all the family history and did a great job. We really liked that an overnight stay in their caravan park was included in our tickets which allowed us to go on both the day and night tours, and spend the whole day at Paronella Park. Well worth a visit as there's nothing else like this place.

It’s the most wonderful experience wandering around Paronella Park. The jungle has well and truly taken over the old ruins and is super lush and wild. There are so many beautiful plants to see.
I thought entry (around $55) was pretty expensive when I arrived, but after taking the tour (which is excellent) and spending time walking through the gardens and exploring the paths I think it’s absolutely worth it. You can also put your name down and visit again for free in the next two years.
You can tell the owners are really passionate about the place, and the guide we had was awesome. Definitely go out of your way to visit - it’s a must.

Very friendly greeting, owners obviously take great pride in their venue and welcome tourists from all walks of life. Great story of the Spanish family that established an entertainment venue in the jungle off the back of profiting by establishing 11 sugar cane farms. Really interesting history, nature wasn't kind with floods and cyclones.. thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Disco ball story the best, apparently the owner liked to party 😄

Fantastic cafe at the dairy of Mungalli Creek. We love how cheese features in all the dishes! We had the spinach savoury cheesecake, and the Swiss crepe with salmon. Both of the dishes were fresh and well balanced. It’s beautiful to sit outside among the rolling hills at altitude. There was a lovely breeze, and people were taking full advantage of the picnic tables under the trees. A few people even had their doggos with them! Worth a visit.

We shared the cheese platter for 2 between 3 of us and it was plenty of food to sample the lovely cheeses made by Mungalli. The service was excellent and the cafe was cute, homey and had a set up where you could browse local made products to purchase. 10/10 food and service and lovely to support local business. Well done!

First the positives... The food is delicious, the location stunning and the service is good.
Not so great... Lots of room for improvement inside. It is functional but by no means does it provide a memorable visit. If you took away the location, it would probably slide into obscurity. The furniture is a mixture of style (the tables) and functionality (the bulky, tattered "camping" chairs). Decor is below average - beautiful photos spoilt by budget frames, etc. The floor is also a mixture of beautiful wood and torn vinyl. With minimal work, this could be a great place inside as well as outside. Be aware, parents, that only unisex toilets are available so you'll want to accompany your young kids to the bathroom.

One of my favourite Tablelands cafes! We LOVE the cheese platter for two. Have eaten in several times but we also love the option to grab a take away cheese platter to take to home when having family over, to a friends house or to take on a picnic. Adorable dairy farm and cafe located in Millaa Millaa, Queensland. This local cafe is rustic and charming.
We ordered the cheese platter for 2 with extra blue cheese and we were impressed by the variety of cheeses as well as the generous portions. It came with chili and onion jams, fruits, crackers and many sides that paired well with the cheeses.
Additionally, we got the strawberry crepes with vanilla ice cream and the scone with cream and jam. The scone came with Devonshire tea that was grown locally. Both dishes were very good with great quality ingredients.
The only downside was the wait. For the cheese platter, it took about 45 minutes from order time. But we didn’t mind because it was a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed the view.
Although the location is a little out of the way, we highly recommend to stop by this cafe.

On a whim decided to turn in at the sign and glad we did! Beautiful spot for a cheeseboard or dessert! Gorgeous little spot, except went there for scones and jam and cream, they open at 10 and we ordered at 10:30and they were sold out!! So get in early! Went up to the Tablelands for Easter weekend and heard it was a great place but I did not have that experience. When we arrived there was a a lot of people there. We waited in line and when we were served the lady was quite blunt and dismissive to us, like she didn’t want to serve us, including the other staff we interacted with. We ordered 2 milkshakes and nothing else which cost us close to $21. There were plenty of staff working so we thought it would not take very long however we waited over 25 minutes. There was no sense of urgency considering how busy it was. After waiting around for a while one of the staff members family walked in with a newborn baby, the staff member stopped every person working to meet the baby whilst the cafe is full of people and there is a still a line to be served. Once we finally received the milkshakes we were very surprised they looked kids sized. Half the size you would normally get at any other cafe I have been to. It was not an enjoyable experience for such a popular cafe.

Nice little cafe worth a visit if you’re out this way. Stunning views of the hills as we sat at their outdoor tables and enjoyed a cheese platter. The staff gave a thorough explanation of the different cheeses and also a little information on the surrounding land. It was very enjoyable learning more about the country.
Only downfall was that it took 50 minutes to get the cheese board. However, we didn’t mind too much because the views are gorgeous and there’s a little shop inside we perused whilst waiting.
Picturesque 18-m. waterfall plunging into a swimming hole surrounded by tropical greenery.
Really a great place to see the falls and to have a picnic. A lot of people were swimming in the water. There are changing rooms near by. You have to walk about 10 min from the parking area to the falls. We can recommend this place. Everything is nice and clean.

Gets allot of hype in "what to do around Cairns" Personally I found Josephine falls to be the best overall in the region. The water is cold (colder than Josephine Falls) brackish and rough to walk into with lots of submerged stones and rocks (recommend wearing reef shoes) although the waterfall itself is quite spectacular and there are fish and turtles that you can see as well

We had a very warm welcome at a surprisingly nice and cozy location. A nice, warm lunch is possible, there are some nice souvenirs, and a couple of refreshments as well.
For the platypus sightings; all we had to have was a little patience, and then the little fella's came showing up... of al the Ozzy natives we met in real life, this one felt the most special!
If ever you're in the neighbourhood, please pay this park a visit, and while you're there, sponsor the platypus (and the fantastic owners of the park) for a bit as well!

so so yummy. the angus beef burger had these delicious onion rings in them. the deserts were also really good i liked the chocolate cake. :)

There's little signage at the road entry, so careful not to drive past. The platypus were cute and we sighted a few of them. If you have binoculars, take these with you, as a fellow visitor let us use theirs and this provided improved viewing. However, still worth seeing without them.

What a hidden gem, such good food and drinks!
They really put a lot of effort in and for such a good price too! $20 for large cappuccino and pulled pork bao buns 🤩
Great setting too so relaxing to sit and watch for platypus.

Cassowaries often roam the beach at this rainforest-enclosed bay, with shaded picnic tables & BBQs.
Gorgeous place best for everything like Relaxing, sigh seeing, skydiving, picnics and more. The very highlights is the Cassowary hunting for food on the shoreline. Rod Leonard a local Queenslander introduced this place to his mate Nick Dean from USA who loves photography he came to visit last year month of November for 6 day's and he went twice at this place. and there he goes!!

Relaxing with big waves but nothing special. The water was not clear at all.

We had a wonderful stay here right on the waters edge under the shade of some trees. The water was crystal clear and the perfect temperature for swimming. Saw heaps of Cassowaries wandering along the beach throughout the day. Good price and great customer service, would recommend.

Great beach to visit 10/10 would recommend the drive
Jacob — Google review
Was very wet and gloomy day when we visited, too wet to stay at the park there in our camper trailer but we did spot 2 cassowaries and had a lovely morning tea. Beautiful spot... we'll be back.
Sharon SL — Google review
Very relaxing. Netted swimming area for safer swimming. It is not recommended you swim outside the nets due to the sea hazards such as Jelly Fish in the far north. 99% of the times I've been there I've seen a cassowary along the beach. Don't approach them though. And definitely don't feed them. They can be a bit unpredictable in their behavior.

Love it ,love the cassowaries.... Just keep on coming back
Jodeelee sharp — Google review
Absolutely beautiful place, one of the nicest beaches we’ve been to, a cassowary roams up & down the beach, during the day. You drive down a winding road through the rainforest, to a secluded beach, surrounded by rainforest trees, only 16 kms south of Innisfail. Only 9 kms of the Bruce Highway. Definitely well worth the look.👍

Visited with our 8 year old son who is into museums and technology/engineering - he absolutely loved it, as did my husband and I. The tour was highly informative and also had a good touch of humour which was nice for our young son, but a laugh for us too. Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend visiting. The collection on it’s own is very expansive and amazing, however the guided tour was really what made it so worthwhile.
K Holmes — Google review
I had no idea this place existed. But found it by chance whilst on our caravan trip. As an avid photographer and keen interest in technology (old and new), I found this place absolutely fascinating. The guided tour fee was money well spent. Would not hesitate to do it again as there is so much to see.

We made the trip up from Melbourne and this was number 1 on our wish list of Tableland attractions; it did not disappoint.
There are a vast array of cameras and stories to go with them, which explain local Tablelands history, technological advancements of the 19th and 20th century, modes of production, warfare; and of course, cold war espionage (that’s why we all really come, right?)
Would recommend calling ahead to make sure the shop is open
Tal Sardone — Google review
Amazing 40 minute tour of a massive collection of cameras some from over 100 years ago. Loads of unique antique film cameras and some spy cameras from all over the globe definitely worth the visit and pay for the guided tour the owner is super knowledgeable and can explain heaps about the arch camera.
Jared Hughes — Google review
Fascinating tour and exhibition. Very knowledgeable and passionate owner really brought the exhibit items to life, with a little bit of local history woven in. Well worth the price of entry. I recommend phoning ahead to ensure they are open as occasionally it is closed for photographic assignment.
Ben Holgate — Google review
This was such a fun experience! I was expecting it to be small but there was actually a huge range of rare cameras including all sorts of spy cameras. It was a guided tour and the owner spent ages showing us around. We learnt a lot and got to see all sorts of things that we’d never seen before. The owner had a funny dry sense of humour and kept everyone entertained, both kids and adults. Would highly recommend this and say it is worth the price.

Drove for 2 hours from Palm Cove especially to see the museum only to find it was closed due to a Photographic Assignment.
Suggest you call before taking long drive.

One of the best museum experiences I have encountered. Well worth the price of admission. Fascinating tour!
Historic Village Herberton is a fascinating outdoor museum located in a tin mining town, showcasing over 60 fully restored heritage buildings and machinery from the 1800s. Visitors can explore exhibits such as a school, sawmill, bank, bishop's house, coach house, camera store, working farm equipment and vintage cars. The memorabilia includes printing presses and newspapers from throughout the 20th century. It's recommended to spend several hours here to fully appreciate this brilliant collection displayed in orderly streets.
This is one of the best museums we have ever visited. When they offer you the 3 day pass I can now see why. There is just so much to see and experience, and it is so well laid out. Plan to spend at the very least a few hours here - you will be glad you did.
Michelle Kerr — Google review
Must see! Our favourite museum in Australia so far. We spent over 3 hours here. It wasn't crowded because the tour buses don't come on Tuesdays. The staff were excellent! Extra friendly and accommodating. The tea room was very cute to sit in. There are plenty of picnic tables so I'd recommend bringing your own or having a snack in the tea room. Entry fee is CHEAP and 100% worth it (I don't know why other reviewers twisted about the price!) Yes it does smell old. Because it's full of old things. It's very much the Australian version of Beamish in England. We'd recommend this to anyone.
Lauren Christian — Google review
A great step back in time and well worth the drive to Herberton. There is plenty to see, and you can spend days wondering through the village.
Plenty of preserved and restored history from the local area as well as a few items from further abroad.
Very dog friendly. A few more items on the food menu would certainly be a plus.
A must do activity in Far North Queensland for locals and tourists alike.

Loved this visit. The highlight of the day was the demonstration by the Blacksmith. So much to see there you need to have the whole day to view everything. The cafe has a resident ghost of a previous owner. Awesome day spent there

This has to be our favourite dog friendly activity so far on our lap of Australia! We loved the variety, informative signs and beautiful displays. Something for everyone!
Dogs we’ve allowed throughout the grounds and inside each individual building so we didn’t miss out on anything which is quite rare when travelling with dogs.

If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind museum experience in Australia, you simply must visit this place. It's easily our favourite museum in the country thus far - we were there for over three hours!
The staff were outstanding - not only did they go out of their way to accommodate us, but they were extra friendly as well. We loved spending time in the tea room, which was charming and cozy. There are tons of picnic tables outside, so feel free to bring your own snacks or grab something from the tea room.
Entry fees are extremely reasonable, and we'd say it's 100% worth it. I would recommend this museum to anyone!
Oh, and if you're travelling with your furry friend, this place is an absolute must-visit. It's probably the dog-friendliest activity we've encountered on our lap around Australia. We appreciated the fact that dogs are allowed in all of the buildings and throughout the grounds - it's not often that you find such a welcoming atmosphere.
To sum up, this museum is definitely a photographer's dream - we took so many great shots! There's just so much to see and do here - we can't wait to come back and spend another day exploring. And if you're interested in history, this is the perfect place to learn about Australian culture and heritage. Don't forget to check out the 30-minute video about the town's story - it's a great way to round out your visit.
Have a nice time

Well I have been visiting this place twice. First, when my wife was pregnant 3 months and second time today with my family. We spent a day there, but if you don't see it all, they give you a complimentary 3 day pass .We brought our tickets on line before we went, costing $35 each. Very tidy, plenty of toilets. There is also a Cafe, where you can buy a light meals.Very educational and lots of photo opportunities. They have a few demonstrations, through the day.I don't think it is very wheelchair friendly, as there are lots of hills and steps to get in to the buildings.

We visited the Herberton Historic Village over the holidays with our parents and 6 month old. Easily the best historic attraction we have been to as a family and a MUST DO if visiting the Tablelands. There was something to see and do for everyone with the oldies constantly reminding us of the memorabilia they had “back in their day”. The random storms throughout the day didn’t dampen our spirits and was actually satisfying waiting out the rain under a 100 year old tin roof shed. Thanks for an amazing and unforgettable day!

Fantastic day with the kids aged 10,8,4. Spent most of the day exploring the village/museum items in each building. The kids watched a blacksmith demo for over an hour. Unfortunately was not a weekend that the steam train was running. The historical items collected and the village displays are amazing. We enjoyed a scone with jam and cream for morning tea. After a few more village display visits we headed over to the camp kitchen where we were greeted by a lovely couple who cooked up a delicious camp oven lunch. There is a great play ground if the kids need a run around throughout the day. There is so much to see and take in. What a fantastic display of items. The film showing some of the indigenous history of the area along with the pioneers story was also interesting. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

A wonderful open air museum giving an insight into pioneer life in the late 1880s as well as hosting a collection of interesting historical artifacts. The ticket is valid for multiple days.
Deborah Gibson-Smith — Google review
Didn’t think I’d enjoy the opulence and leftover waste of colonialism and obvious impact it has had on the environment and it’s indigenous peoples however I was delightfully surprised by the effort put into collecting and presenting the pioneer artifacts and lifestyle by presenting it in a huge Villiage of shops and sheds, stores and buildings of every kind from toy store to garage, chemist and butcher, radio shop and school house etc etc etc, the list is endless and make sure you have at least 2 days to explore. Will take some people back to the antiques and things they have seen or owned or been handed down. The wealth earned from taking the tin has certainly boosted QLD however the toke is tic minimalistic display of poorly labelled Aboriginal items is an example of destruction by the commonwealth and its peoples. I took a million photos for my aging mother who will appreciate the memories of yesteryear. Good gift shop, some excellent handturned local wood items by their master craftsman, toilets are spread through the Villiage, plus a cafe with great food. You can take a nice walk over the suspension bridge to the station n mill and along the creek. There are various presentations on timetabled through the day and a film narrated by a Jack Thompson that I wasn’t really impressed with. Although the curved cinema screen was cool the film glossed over genocide and theft!
My husband loves this kind of place because lots of old machinery, some cars n bikes and a great collection of tools as well. My favourite would have to be the lower and upper classrooms set up and the chemist. The toy store is the creepiest beware of atttachment in there. Staff at gift shop were lovely, super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this as one of the best historical comprehensive and excellently presented collections of pioneer life in Australia without the noise and bustle of places like Sovereign Hill ViC. Not really wheelchair friendly though which is a downside for many.

This place is easily one of Australia's most awesome and complete museum of historical items and information - we thought it may be 1 or 2 hours with our teenage sons, but spent half a day there to closing time, and simply didn't leave enough time to see all the interesting stuff. Plan for a full day, or do it in two halves on a weekend ticket in.
This day out begun with the most friendly Australian bloke we have ever stumbled across. Paul was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming and gave us everything that we needed for us to have a fantastic paddle down the creek. The surprise choc ice on the way back was just the cherry on top! Beautiful scenery even is bad weather and fantastic value for money.

Its hard to have a better day than kayak through Babinda Creek with Babinda Kayaks. I'm a repeat offender. Sure you could bring your own but Paul has all the gear, safety equipment, local knowledge as well as pick up or drop off at Babinda Rotary Park. Love this place as does my dog. Yes they're pet friendly too! Suggest you take a drink some fresh fruit or something to snack on and your swimmers. There's also plenty to do and see in and around Babinda too. Don't forget to call into the local bakery after your kayak.

Highly recommended activity! We have wanted to do this for the past couple of years. Such an incredibly special experience and far exceeded expectations. Lots of clear flowing water in the creek and Paul is a warm, friendly and knowledgeable business owner. We spent a few hours enjoying this beautiful part of nature. Paul surprised us with ice creams when he picked us up at the finish which was a great way to finish our paddle. Highly recommend

Such a delightful way to see the wet tropics! Splendid scenery and the gentle thrill of paddling along a crystal clear waterway. We had one kayak and one SUP. Found that great fun as we swapped over a few times.
There are modest rapids where the SUP seemed to handle safer by being on the knees.
Would LOVE to share this with grandkids / whole family!
Top value and memorable experience

Highly recommend hiring a kayak from Paul at Babinda Kayaking and going for a heavenly paddle down Babinda Creek. Paul sets you up safely with all the gear required and picks you up at the end. Babinda Creek is a crystal clear, gently flowing piece of heaven. You really only have to paddle over a few small rapids and to stay away from the banks. This was my most memorable experience on my trip to Cairns last Christmas. It’s pure bliss, floating through nature. 🌳

Absolutely delighted with our experience at Babinda Kajak! Paul was not just friendly, but he also delivered a detailed introduction and pointed out all the possible stops on our way down the river. We've done Babimda Kayaking so many times now I've stopped counting. It is still one of my favourite things to do in North Queensland. It changes depending on the water level and time of year so it's always worth calling Paul to book and asking about the water level. We always take our little dog as well. A must do experience in my opinion.

Wow! What an amazing tree. Easy 5 minute via boardwalk plus 15 minutes gawking. Good storyboard that describes how it grew in such an unusual way. My pics do not do it justice. The road is bitumen suitable for RVs. Big rigs might find it a squeeze if busy. Easy in our 6.5m motorhome.

Tiny beautiful remnant rainforest. Curtain Fig NP is a remnant of the original Mabi Forest (“mabi” = Ngajanji word for the local Lumholtz’s tree kangaroo), which once stretched across this low-lying part of the tablelands. The information signs say this part was left uncleared largely due to the basalt rock boulders scattered across the land. Spectacular, special place - has you imagining how different the surrounding cleared agricultural land once was!

Nestled amidst the lush rainforest of Babinda, the Babinda Boulders is a natural wonder that leaves a lasting impression. Despite the rainy weather and foggy conditions during my visit, the sheer beauty and tranquility of this place still managed to captivate me.
The journey to the Babinda Boulders was an adventure in itself, with the mist-laden road adding an element of mystique to the experience. While the fog obstructed the panoramic views I had hoped for, it created an ethereal ambiance that enhanced the allure of the surroundings. The gentle sound of raindrops and the mist shrouding the towering boulders contributed to a serene atmosphere that felt like stepping into a different world.
The boulders, sculpted by the forces of nature over centuries, were truly awe-inspiring. These massive granite rocks, adorned with vibrant green moss and ferns, created a picturesque setting. Despite the limited visibility, I could sense the raw power and beauty of the crystal-clear waters that flowed around them. It was a reminder of nature's resilience and its ability to create breathtaking landscapes.
Exploring the walking trails around the Babinda Boulders was an invigorating experience, even in the rain. The rainforest canopy provided shelter from the downpour, and the air was filled with the earthy aroma of damp leaves and soil. The trails were well-maintained, ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey, and the signage provided valuable information about the area's natural history and cultural significance.
The Babinda Boulders is not only a scenic marvel but also a culturally significant site for the local Indigenous people. I was moved by the stories and legends associated with this place, and it deepened my appreciation for the spiritual connection between the land and its traditional custodians.
While my visit to the Babinda Boulders was hindered by the weather conditions, I could still sense its immense potential as a nature lover's paradise. I can only imagine how breathtaking the views would be on a clear day. I would highly recommend planning a visit during more favorable weather to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of this remarkable location.
Despite the foggy conditions, my trip to the Babinda Boulders was a memorable one. The combination of nature's grandeur, the mystical atmosphere, and the rich cultural heritage make it a destination worth exploring. Don't let the rain deter you; embrace the enigmatic allure and let the Babinda Boulders cast its spell on you.
Note: This review is based on my personal experience at Babinda Boulders on a rainy day and reflects my genuine opinion. I recommend checking the weather forecast before planning your visit to ensure optimal conditions for enjoying the scenic beauty.

Beautiful place to swim, if a bit chilly! Would recommend going down the trail, and looking at the amazing rock formations a bit further down from where you swim. Good how it has wheelchair access, with a ramp down to the pontoon that you can swim off. We also saw a Cassowary here, so watch out for them.

In the dry and wet, Babinda is gorgeous and a perfect place for a dip. One morning, whilst having a swim, I was joined by a platypus which was scurrying around for its food. This place was very impressive. The riverbed had these massive boulders in them, and a very narrow area that the river flowed through these boulders. They were threatening signs everywhere, warning people not to swim, and showing how so many people had died by trying to swim in the area. It does look luring and looks like it would be easy to float down the river, and then you notice all the signs that show how people get trapped under the rocks and get trapped in underwater caves. I would never swim there, but to see the beautiful boulders and the water rush over them was pretty amazing definitely go visit here but don’t go swimming. There was a swimming hole that was at the beginning of the hike. That was a safe place to swim. We did not swim, but saw lots of people there.

Really beautiful. We camped at the free camp nearby and walked down to the boulders. All I heard online was how dangerous it was to swim here but there is actually a still, sandy pool at the top with easy access for swimming. Once you start the walk and see the rocky boulders from the lookouts it is these areas you are not supposed to swim at.

A beautiful vulcanic lake with a number of swimming spots and sheltered barbecues. The lake itself is great for snorkeling as well. We spotted a number of jungle perch, other small fish and turtles. Just 10mins drive from Malanda town.
There will be plenty of parking spots outside the lake.
Toilet everything is available there
There is a signboard warning a friendly crocodile there but I have asked the local they said they have never seen him in 15 years so probably it's not there anymore
A lot of people are going there for a swim and the whole lake is yours to swim
Please bear in mind it can be very deep(not sure how deep as I can't see the bottom)
So please be very careful if you are not familiar with water
You can bring your own paddle board or kayak there.
If you are having a picnic and decided to go for a swim please cover it well as the bush turkey is sneaky.
There will be a 3KM walk around the lake which takes you an hour to finish
Overall it is a good place to check out in Tableland

Beautiful place, nice and easy. We did the walk around the lake, was a nice walk. Free parking, nice water, seen fishba d turtles( not the crocodile)

Lake Eacham is stunning!
Fed by rainwater, the water is crystal clear and a vibrant turquoise when the sun hits it at the right angle. There is plenty of car parking, places to picnic as well as bathrooms. The loop around the lake takes about 30-40 minutes with informative signage along the way

Nice lake where plenty of locals and foreign visitors were swimming. A little chilly for us! There is warnings about a freshwater crocodile living in the lake who usually minds his own business. A lovely place to have a weekend bbq and bring the kids.

Lake Echam, a serene retreat, captivates with crystal-clear waters and lush surroundings. Ideal for relaxation, it offers tranquil escapes through well-maintained trails. Whether fishing by the shore or enjoying a lakeside picnic, it's a perfect destination for nature enthusiasts seeking a peaceful getaway in the heart of nature.

Absolutely stunning. The lake is absolutely beautiful and great for swimming so be sure to bring togs. There are signs saying there is a crocodile but I didn't see it when I went. There's a lovely 3km walk you can do around the lake. It's fairly flat, great for all fitness levels. The path is well defined and well maintained, and signage is excellent. The toilet facilities are well maintained, and there are plenty of picnic spots. Make sure to take your trash with you as there are no bins. this is a great place to bring family , friends and kids. I've seen people bring pool noodles to the lake!!

Lake Eacham is extremely beautiful. The water is so clear you can see all the way to the bottom when you’re at the edge. Definitely go for a swim if you have the time here.

Loved it..... pays to get there early if you want front row parking and secure a spot close to the water.
Look my son there to learn how to stand up paddle board for the 1st time..... he loved it

Bodies of Water
Tranquil, freshwater lake ringed by dense woods within the Crater Lakes National Park.
Fantastic circuit walk around the lake. Well maintained with lots of interesting flora and fauna along the way. We saw a couple of red-bellied black snakes getting some sun, and also 3 musky rat kangaroos. Lots of bird life to enjoy as well.
Nicky Jurd — Google review
Beautiful place! The tea house is amazing.
I wouldn’t really recommend the lake circuit walk though, it’s mainly under the canopy without viewpoints. It’s a short and easy walk though, around 5km/1hr, so nice to stretch the legs.
Hester de Roos — Google review
Lake Barrine is a picturesque lake about 1 and a half hours drive from Cairns. You can cruise the lake on daily boat rides, go for a walk, swim or just kick back and relax with a meal and drink in the teahouse. Enjoy the beautiful gardens, spot a Ulysses Butterfly, find some fish in the lake or go for a nature walk. A great day out.

The teahouse there is excellent! Friendly staff; it's a charming, secluded place (during the week, at least) for lunch or afternoon tea; also a great place for a swim -- it's down the steps and into the cool, clear water. One of the highlights of our Queensland visit.
We dropped in around closing time to buy a couple of bottles. Place was beautiful and the atmosphere was lovely. Would be lovely spot for a drink. The grounds were absolutely stunning with peacocks roaming all over.

This is a lovely distillery that makes some great gin.
The service, product knowledge and hospitality was excellent.
I found the prices quite high particularly as the product is made on site and you are buying direct from the manufacturer. Especially disappointing to find upon my return to Sydney my local bottle shop prices were cheaper than the distillery.
Worth the visit and a taste test.

Beautiful place, delicious products, class A service and the gardens are to die for. Stayed overnight in the RV Retreat which was gorgeous. Grassed sites and impeccable amenities.

Passed by this gem when I was on my way to Granite Gorge, decided to check it out when I was on my way back. Honest not regret at all
When you drive inside you feel like you drive into another place where the view is amazing.
And we did the liquor tasting. You can get
1 for 5 dollars
4 for 15 dollars
Or
6 for 20 dollars
So we did the 6 for 20, they have different choices there.
What I recommend here is their award winning Rum and Ooray.
The rest you can just pick whatever you feel nice
It was bad that their distillery was not open when I was there. But you can just walk around and explore their surrounding. It's beautiful
Overall it's a good experience
Neo — Google review
I went there on the recommendation of an Australian friend. Although I doesn't know much about distilled spirits, tried some rum and whiskey. The rum has a vanilla flavor and tastes like caramel. It had a very rich taste due to its high alcohol content.
Takafumi Hosoya — Google review
Wonderful experience having a tasting paddle from Lisa. Tasty Gins of different varieties, plus outstanding rum and whiskey. All on a wonderful property which I think the kids would enjoy. Donkeys, cows, plenty of peacock's and parking for the caravan.
Will be back the next time we are up FNQ.

This was another Awesome experience
My husband and I were taking my mum away for the night for her 72nd birthday. We stopped down the road for coffee tasting, only to realise that it wasn't in operation.
However, my Amazing Husband made a perfect detour to bring us to
Mt Uncle Distillery for some Gin tasting stead. What a perfect day and opportunity it was
The mood was lovely, as we drove in, I admired the agave plants and all surrounding trees, nature and wildlife. The peacocks even spread it feathers for us.
We opted to try the 6 taste plate and chose 3 x gins, 1 x tequila, sexycat marshmallow liquor and a coffee liquor
We sat outside, in the lovely breezy, blue sky 💙 listening to the birds,
It was perfect
Great venue
tarah shaw — Google review
Lovely place to visit and sample the local Gin products. The ambience of the distillery and surrounds is incredible. There is RV parking and plenty of car parks. For the kids there is an enclosure with a few donkeys, turkeys, plus lots of Peacock's roaming around, they are not camera shy. Some Web sites advertise that you can purchase coffee as well as meals at the distillery but that is not the case. They stopped selling coffee and meals about four years ago. Ignore the billboards on the highways as well that still advertise coffee and meals available at the venue. The venue is 100% wheelchair friendly.

Mt Uncle is a hidden treasure set amongst a natural paradise that you will never want to leave. The gin tasting was so much fun and we were blown away with the first class service and tutorial we received. It was so relaxing and loved watching the peacocks frolic in the garden. A definite pit stop on your tablelands journey and don’t forget to take some roadies with you!
Lovely waterfall and pools to visit and have a swim. The walk there is about 40 mins along a concrete road though the rainforest (no cars allowed)
Johnny Bell — Google review
I would personally not recommend this walk. Concrete path, quite long and steep. Not many tourists and no 4G signal available. Didn't complete the trek because I didn't enjoy the vibe. Plenty of nicer walks available in and around Cairns. Best avoided.

Great outdoor adventure with a medium to low level fitness walking track. Has a great view and swimming spot at the top.
Recommend bring some water. 👍

Good walk following the water pipeline along the Behana Creek. It is quite steep in parts and fairly tough on a hot day. Start early, there is shade. Take some water with you. Allow 1 and a half hours.
Ray Swaine — Google review
This walk has amazing views of Behana Creek.
Susan — Google review
Decent walk. The path is all concrete - not a dirt track. The path is quite steep in many places to make sure that you are wearing shoes with a decent grip. The waterfall is right at the end and you can climb down onto the rocks. Take care - it is steep and can get slippery. Reccomend as a moderate challenge. It took about 1.5 hours with a few stops for photos.
Bec R — Google review
Solid 40+ minute walk through beautiful rainforest, on a concrete footpath to clamshell falls at the end. There is a single public toilet at the carpark.

Beautiful spot to swim next to Cairns and very accessible.
Paula Gómez — Google review
What a beautiful place for a swim!
The walk to the top falls is about 3kms on a tarred services road, it is quite hilly in spots so be prepared to sweat a little.
Very similar feel to the Babinda Boulders and just as dangerous so take caution if you decide to swim at all, very strong unpredictable currents in parts but lovely spot to swim at the top.
Make sure you bring a picnic to make it a lovely day out

Beautiful George of cascading falls, asphalted path that follows the pipeline the whole way, has a few step hills but well worth the sweat! About 3km to the falls, take some water 😊

A great walk. Definitely not easy so wear a pair of decent shoes and carry a water bottle. It took us around 45mins to get to the end of the track. The view is amazing up there 🙌

Honestly this is a very decent walk, 45mins one way! But the best waterfalls we visited by far, worth the climb.
Granite Gorge Nature Park, located 12km west of Mareeba, is a stunning natural attraction known for its massive granite boulders and picturesque hiking trails. The park offers camping and caravanning facilities, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the Australian wilderness. It's home to tame rock wallabies that can be fed with purchased food. The area is abundant with wildlife including wallabies, possums, and various bird species.
Lots of wonderful animals and bursting bushland to see fantastic views from the rocks paths are unique to say the least they are for the adventurous type not a easy walk. Not suitable for people with disabilities or have trouble climbing. Family fun for camping and other animals to enjoy and feed the wallabies full facilities available, for day trips or camping trips.
Tegan Crawford — Google review
A gorgeous gorge, well worth the small fee per person. We did the extended trek, only 90 minutes total with some grade 4 scrambling over and sliding down rocks. Good shoes and free hands a must.
John Stephens — Google review
Great experience feeding all the animals! We decided to stay the night, worth doing if you're doing a late afternoon walk. There's 2 levels of tracks to follow, and we did both. It was a little more hectic than I expected, but we definitely had a lot of fun climbing and squeezing through the rocks.

Superb setting.
Fascinated by the hollow sounding boulders.
Would like to see non native pink flowering plants removed from site asap before they spread.
Was dismayed to see caged animals in reception, especially the cockatoos. No need.
However, the water was delicious, so cool for swimming. Bird life abundant.
The campsite looked very natural with plenty of water views
Susan Stiles — Google review
Lovely, family friendly camping spot! Plenty of space to set up so you don’t feel to close to other camp sites. They have powered and unpowered sites, as well as clean bathroom facilities.
The nature park is about a 15 minute drive from Mareeba. This was super helpful when we realised we had forgotten stuff for dinner…
There are several walking paths to go on and lots to see here. High recommend coming up for a weekend and exploring what this place has to offer.

Great place. Wallaby food is cheap, and they don’t bite. Just make sure that you wear sneakers and not sandals so that you can see the whole place. Overall, a great experience in the Australian bush.

Great for a walk through the george but not much info available online on the difficulty levels of the tracks. Rock wallabies are adorable and tame. Food for wallabies available at reception. Small fee for park entry.
Amy Venn — Google review
We came across the Granite gorge only by seeing the sign on the roadside . We absolutely loved feeding the Little Rock wallabies. We completed both the yellow and red walks ! Good walking shoes recommended! Absolutely loved this adventure . Worth the $13 each and $ 2 for pellets to feed wallabies 😊
Donna Barker — Google review
The rocks and boulders and general area, beautiful and worth a look.
It's well marked trail, wallabies bit is fun.
What was less savoury were the caged birds and animals. All seemed too small too cramped no heat lamps for reptiles, water or climbing options for lizards.
Caged birds always a tough one for our family. Lovely to see them but is a small cage the best way to live for an animal that flies hundreds of miles?
Clearly the place has to pass QLD inspection (although displayed license is out of date), so we might assume these cages meet standards, but my kids were not impressed.
peter wilson — Google review
Fantastic day out, worth the money, only $15/ adult for the whole day. Wear good shoes if you’re up for some rock scrambling. Wallabies are friendly and adorable!
Emma Scully — Google review
We had such a great time!!!!! Just hanging out with the sweet Wallabies was worth the entry fee alone. The trails winding the way through the rocks was a blast. Super kind staff. Hope to go back someday. Thank you!!!
Heidi — Google review
It's close to the tablelands, or you can drive here from Cairns. It's worth the visit. But you need to pay the entrance fees before getting in, and you have to buy the wallabies food if you want to feed them. But for 2 dollars it's pretty worth it.
The entrance fee is about 15 dollars per pax.
The wallabies rock just near the entrance. Over the rock it's all rock, so basically you just climb rock to see more rocks
At the end of the rock you will see an amazing view. If you are too lazy to climb the rock back you can take the emergency exit which just a smooth path directs you back to the park, but it can be very hot in a sunny day
The park has a lot of parrots as well. I heard some of them talk, like how you're doing which is pretty cool
And they have pigs and sheep as well
Overall very good spend for a day

Cool little spot.. you can see the river meandering around all the huge granite boulders, there are many tame wallabies here and also the owner has all sorts of birds for you to interact with. There is a campground for those that would like to stay overnight also

One of the best bang for your bucks places we stayed at in terms of excitement for the kids when holidaying in Far North QLD.
Don't get put off by the 1990's website, or an Excel spreadsheet for a booking system, this place is worth seeing.
The rock wallabies are super cute and are the highlight attraction, watching them play, interact while being able to pat them was enjoyed by the whole family.
The holiday park also has a bunch of beautiful parrots and reptiles that the kids got to handle and talk to. Roaming peacocks/hens are also cool to see.
We got to do a short walk on the boulders. We finished the medium course and attempted half of the difficult part of the course, but the kids bailed on it, so we turned back.
It seems there is also a place for people to swing off into the water.
At night we gathered some wood and had a small fire next to our cabin which was great fun for the kids.
The cabin it self is small and basic but it was clean, came with towels and soap/shampoo and that's all we really needed. Did I mention the rock wallabies are awesome? Some came around in the evening and hung out around our cabin.
If we walk around the holiday park you will find some fruit trees. We picked starfruit and guava.

This place well and truly outshines it's advertising. What a gem of a camping spot. Turkeys, peacocks, chickens and other ground fowl putter around. The watering hole is a nice cool off in the heat. The lizards, snakes and birds at the beautiful reception building are a treat for the kids (and adults!). However, the 2 km of hiking through the gorge is what blew our socks off. We loved the small challenges of the rock climbs for my 5 year old and the labelling of the track. The dinosaur footprints, dinosaur rock, turtle rock, and whale rock, plus interesting assistance along the way (rock holds, pipes, bridges and cement stepping stones). I forgot to mention our super comfortable and fun safari tent for the night! At $65 for a semi permanent tent with a double bed and linen, this place is a no brainer for a weekend away!! So glad I found it this weekend! Oh!! The rock wallabies are a HUGE drawcard, too. This place has it all!

This is a beautiful place to visit. The scenery is spectacular, great interaction with the rock wallabies. A little cold for a swim, but is great when the weather is a little warmer. Make sure you wear good footwear if you plan on walking through the Gorge.

Very pleasant. Stayed in a cabin, we were there only one night. Bring BBQ food as there is only an electric fry pan and a microwave.
Nestled at 136 Mason Street, Coffee Works is a unique destination that proudly combines a roastery and chocolaterie. This establishment celebrates the rich coffee-growing heritage of the Mareeba area, offering four distinct local coffees for visitors to savor. The venue opens its doors daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, inviting guests to indulge in gourmet chocolates and house-roasted coffee within an expansive industrial-chic space.
The one in Mareeba is an interesting place to visit. The aroma of the roasted coffee hits me as soon as we entered. The flat white tastes nice, with robust flavours. And the shop sells lots of interesting trinkets. The chocolate taste nice.

Overall a disappointing experience, and I wouldn't go back.
The store itself is very strange, most of it is full of tawdry knick-knacks unrelated to coffee, and seems to have been decorated by someone who hoards "live, laugh, love" posters. There are about 20 jars of coffee at the front of the store you can smell and choose from.
I had a long black which was almost undrinkable it was so bitter and verging on burnt, with an acrid aftertaste. The only saving grace was the raspberry and white chocolate muffin.

From the coffee beans on the footpath leading to the entrance to saying goodbye when leaving, this place is awesome.
The coffee is to die for, the chocolate shop is adorable, and the place is filled with lots of cool things to see and add to your collection.
I was taken care of by Narelle and GeorJay (so sorry I didn't catch the spelling!) who were both super bubbly, welcoming, and more than happy to have a chat and answer all of my questions.
The museum was unfortunately closed but that's something I can look forward to for a future visit!

Friendly staff. Great coffee. Perfect temperature. If you like it hot, ask for it hot. If I was ordering a coffee here for a grey nomad I would ask for it hot. Otherwise, the coffee temperature is perfect. A lot of unfair reviews on here. Almost made me not stop. Glad I did. Nice garden setting. Interesting and busy coffee and chocolate factory.
We met friends here for morning tea. Our scones were warmed and delivered with ample jam and cream. Fast service considering it was busy.
The coffee was good too 👍🏼
And they have loads of different flavoured grinds and beans for you to buy.
I had a look around the shop at the many gift lines for sale and then into the air con room to check out the chocolate.
So many different varieties and also some great different shapes !

The coffee works is a fantastic place in Mareeba. Very interesting with all their coffee machines museum and they have got some fantastic stuff to look at in their shop but the biggest problem I have with that place. They need some decent cakes and pastries for a chocolate place. They should be putting out so much more.
Plus, the staff are excellent very happy very friendly. Can’t complain they just need some nice cakes and pastries Yum !!!!!!!!!!! All that chocolate there you could have some beautiful Gateaux tortes and slices. Come on what goes good with coffee🍰🍰🍰🍰be known for it.
Hi, it’s me Chris back again there must be someone in that beautiful little town that owns a bakery or a cake shop that could supply you with cakes. I’m sure that would work. What do you think worth a try? And also there are very good frozen products on the market today who’s gonna know. Good luck I wish you the best you’ve got a gold mine there.

I don’t really care about the love that went into the presentation and all the marketing stuff that can stay on your website, I think $9 for a regular mocha no matter how magical and sensational for the tastebuds it might be is crazy. For it to be disappointing too was a let down for that cost, but then to get a reply back saying that we basically don’t know what we are talking about and that everyone loves their famous mocha shows what kind of place this is. I thought the point of being able to review was about giving your opinion and informing others, well you’re not going to like what I have to say now. Don’t go there, it’s crazy overpriced, all a gimmick and mediocre

Coffee and chocolate lovers won't be disappointed at Coffee Works. My wife and I enjoyed great espresso, hot chocolate made with real chocolate (not powder) and mud cake that's rich and moist (plus a number of different chocolates from the chocolate shop). Great service and a fabulous coffee museum that's definitely worth checking out. The chocolates made on the premises are next level, with flavours and textures that are simply a delight. A wide selection of coffee beans including locally grown. We found all prices quite reasonable. We had high expectations about this place and we were not disappointed. Highly recommended.

The hook was Australia grown coffee. But it was roasted too dark, like an American coffee chain. I normally get espresso but it was roasted too dark for that. So I got a long black, which was actually OK. If you like proper Melbourne or Seattle espresso, this will not be the place for you. If you like Starbucks but in a more local not-chain-store format, you will probably be happy. The gift shop would be a novelty to tourists who are not deeply inculcated in afficionado-level coffee. There is good coverage of several traditional Italian non-espresso coffee brewing devices for sale.

Had a coffee and toasty, really great. OMG, the museum was fantastic. So many different ways to make coffee starting from a long time ago. Second time in which I visited here. A little museum on site which was free to see. Small sized gift shop on site. An area which had a variety of chocolate products available for purchase, which were a little pricey. Plenty of coffee available for purchase. A cafe section to sit in and enjoy a coffee, which I tried was not too strong for my liking and hot. Friendly service whom were very accomidating. Worth the stop to see.

The drive here was curious and fun... off the main road, head down a dirt road for a short bumpy trip, a small water crossing, till you meet tarmac again... trust your GPS it is not leading you down the wrong path...
I did the self guided tour, $15, includes a great 15min movie, the Jaques family put together, displayed in a home cinema... great set up. Really informative, light hearted, then the family share their challenges faced to get where they are today, over a 40+ yr span.... the Jaques are amazingly strong and inspirational... "never give up"!
Coffee was delicious, menu is small, but offers something for everyone.
I now have a new appreciation for coffee
Update... my GPS did play tricks... after departing the coffee farm, I watched mutliple cars go right, opposite way I came in... so I decided to see where it lead.... it was a quick, tarmac drive back to the main road... I actually preferred my off the beaten track adventure, which I found coming from the north... it added to the experience, just don't go this way in the wet season 🙃

This cafe was an afternoon stop as part of a day tour I took and sits on its own coffee plantation. I didn't know what to expect from this stop and the tasting on offer.
We were presented with 7 items (including a couple of chocolate coated espresso beans) on the tasting platter and I enjoyed every drop. It's one of the best coffees I've ever tasted. But you've got to try it for yourself to decide.
One interesting drink we sampled was the cold brewed coffee cherries. These cherries were steeped in hot water, just like tea. The drink was delicious and refreshing. The accompanying scones were delightful.
Wolf Lane Distillery makes a coffee liqueur and guess where the coffee comes from?
I would definitely recommend this place as the passion and knowledge shone through in the presentation of the tasting platter. They know what they're doing. A must visit!
Say hi to Rowan on your way in. 😉

Finally managed to stop by for a visit. The place was busier than we expected but managed to get a table on the deck. Took awhile to queue to place our order, and again for the food to come out, but again, the place was packed. Coffee and the food were amazing and excellent value, just needed a few more berries and another scoop of ice cream to have enough for both waffles, but apart from that, everything was great

We did the Premium Coffee Tour and Gavyn was an absolutely amazing guide. He was very patient and knowledgeable. Super lovely person and made us feel very comfortable - huge thank you!! The coffee tasting was very unique and would highly recommend. For lunch, we had the pumpkin salad, special of the day, and barramundi and chips. All of it was incredibly fresh.
Thank you for having us and big kudos to Gavyn!!
Sugarworld Adventure Park in Cairns is a family-friendly amusement park with a variety of attractions for all ages. The park features body, mat, and raft slides, as well as an interactive aquatic playground for kids. In addition to swimming pools and a 9-hole mini-golf course, the park offers endless hours of fun. While it may not be as large as some other waterparks, it still provides great entertainment for kids aged 6 and older.
The park itself is great, old big rain tree is exciting, the aqua park is good. Just don't expect anything mind-blowing, but it has some good big waterslides (you need to pay extra for them). Unfortunately, they have only one swimming pool and lots of people. They also have instructors or people around a corner in case of emergency. Nevertheless, nice place to visit

We love Sugarworld - the slides are fun and the lines are never too long. Mini golf is a good laugh and there are lots of shady spots to relax too. It’s great that you can bring your own food to have a picnic - the kiosk is great for hot food and ice creams. The big public park outside is worth a visit too.

Kids loved the Super Slides but the smaller Slides were only manned for short periods of time. Toilets were locked 2 hours after opening and staff member made me find a lifeguard to get keys to open them. Toilets were flooded as well once open like they had been hosed but not squeeged and very slippery.

It was pretty cool and the massive entry I liked the peacocks the most.

It was OK. Reasonable for small kids. For kids above 7 and adults - three large slides, may not be enough to fill a day. When taking a photo with a peacock bird the lifeguard appeared shouting to "leave the bird alone" not accepting the argument that we are just taking a photo. Overall 3 stars and the place is not cheap / not the best value for money. If you are a visitor on a budget and limited time - there are plenty of better places to visit while you are in Cairns.

Sugar World Adventure Park is a popular attraction in Cairns, particularly for families with young children. While it may not be the most impressive adventure park in the region, it does offer a decent way to entertain kids and tire them out.
The facilities at Sugar World Adventure Park could use a bit of TLC, as some areas look a little dated and worn. However, that being said, the park still offers a range of activities for kids, including water slides, a mini-golf course, and a playground. So, if you're a local and need to tire out some kids, Sugar World Adventure Park will do the trick.
The water slides are probably the highlight of the park, and kids will no doubt have a blast racing down them. The mini-golf course is also a fun activity, with plenty of obstacles to keep things interesting. The playground is a good place for younger kids to run around and burn off some energy.
While the facilities could use some updates, the staff at Sugar World Adventure Park are friendly and helpful. They are always on hand to assist with any questions or concerns you may have.
Overall, if you're a local looking for a way to entertain the kids for a few hours, Sugar World Adventure Park is worth a visit.

Great water park for the young ones to spend a weekend with a baby pool and water slides also lots of peacocks roaming freely

I have been here several times before and the kids always have a blast and burn themselves out. Three stars because there is no consistency with being a sufficient number of mats and tubes. Even though it was quiet today, there were only 7 mats for the slide which takes 4 at a time, you do the math. It resulted in long queues given how quiet it was....room for improvement for sure.
Had a great time nonetheless.

A pretty good place to take the kids but take some water shoes as you will burn your feet on the hot services when lining up for the slides. Best to book online as when we arrived there were signs saying cash only.

Amazing place to spend a day or half day. Waterslides are fun specially with kids between 6 years and older. Almost all slides are safe and you do not need to worry about. Please don't expect too much as it is not a waterpark like Gold Coast. Very economical as you just need to spend 61$ for a family of four including big slides. Also greenery and park is very good. My kids loved it and me and my wife too.

Great fun and perfect for kids and families for affordable price.
Two things to mention that might can be improved: the quality of the food and service at the restaurant, and more visible staff everywhere who are actually able to act if needed.

Always a super fun experience when we come to Sugarworld. Slides, pools, U10s area and the shady tables & chairs. 34°c was intensely hot, but we loved it in the water. We bring our own lunch and snacks and pick up an icecream or 2 and a couple of slushies when we leave from the Cafe. Change rooms/toilets were understandably wet, so just use caution.
We love our school holiday visits here.

Waterslides are fun and the teens monitor so fairly safe. On opening we arrived toilets were filthy,no toilet paper.Cafe very basic and the usual high price but if you plan ahead there is a Mc Donald's across the road or you can BYO lunches and snacks. Concrete paths are hard in wet feet so bring some water shoes. Not a lot of covered area near slides unless you are booking the birthday zone
