Enjoyed exploring this for what it was. A huge stone quarry used as far back as the ancient Romans. It's quite a hike if you park at the bottom and walk up to the top.

Great place for a little hike during good weather! Highly recommended! :)

A really peaceful and a scenic place for a weekend get away. It’s a very good place for a small hike with family and friends. Kids would really love it and have fun climbing the rocks and going around in the woods.
Deepa Sudhakar — Google review
It's a surreal park that's fun to visit, hike, and explore. You'll find a large hill filled with broken up rock columns. The history dates back to this location being used to fabricate columns used in Roman architecture. It's not for the faint of heart as it can be a technical climb. It's a nice to visit on a warm day.
Harold Pramekamol — Google review
It's very good for hiking.
It's not very steep either so if you are afraid of heights, don't look down. Just up. I would say mid to low difficulty
Jiboo piu — Google review
I enjoyed the hike. We went all the way up and the weather was perfect. At the bottom it might be easier to climb. As you go up the rocks get bigger and the ridges get deeper, but yet still fun to do. Nature is amazing and can create astonishing things. You can choose the sporty way and go through the rocks or take the trail that runs along side. If u get up to the bridge your have done 2/3 of the hike. Just be careful on ur way down!!!

Parking at the bottom is now €5, payable only with €0.50, €1, & €2 coins.
Automatic locking bathrooms cost €1, taking smaller coins and even cards.

Sea of rocks 🪨 are a giant amusement park for families with kids any ages or couples or groups of friends. A lot of fun. It is a good exercise for you while being in the beautiful nature rock formation.
Parking lots are not free. Plenty of space to park though.
Right now store with ice cream is open. Next to it was a small farm produce market - fresh fruits, jams, etc.
You can clime rock wall all the way up or partially or hike up on the trail to the right or to the left of the rock wall.
Don't forget to take pictures when you are up there.
You can take a snack or lunch, there are benches and tables along the way closer to the top.

Amazing spot. You can take the hiking treks or climb up the rocks which is really fun! The view is pretty amazing, too.

Park with wolves & wild boar in spacious compounds, plus farm animals, forest hikes & rope trails.
Very enjoyable. Parking out front, friendly staff and a restaurant nearby.
They have a good variety of animals, some you can get close to. Ponies for the children to ride and some goats (I think) for the children to pet.
Definitely worth a visit for small kids. They can also use their pushbikes/scooters inside. But double check at reception.

Vast area with quite a few animals. We saw otters, bison, white wolf, goats, pheasants, herons, boars and many others. Our kids had a wonderful time, especially at the petting corner. Do carry rain boots if you are visiting the wild park. It can get really muddy after the rain. There was a small ice cream truck with a variety of ice creams like rainbow ice cream and Minnie mouse ice creams, which tasted good. Unfortunately the falconry was closed. 4 stars because we found the directions a bit confusing.

Nice place with kids for a short picnic... It has got a playing park birds animal so kids can enjoy
Ashwini Dhaneppagol — Google review
Nature park, a great place for a walk and occasional spotting of wild life (including wolfs).
This is not a city zoo, so do not expect to see all animals at all times. But if you are patient, not in a rush, appreciate animals having ample space end enjoy walking in nature, this is s great place to visit.
Children will enjoy area between two entrances, since smaller enclosures allow to see goats, rabbits, birds and pheasants.
Inside the park, some gastro offer is available.
Having a few hours for a walk is advisable.
E-cyclists will find parking spaces with power outlets near entrance 1.

Loved it. Really awesome place. Much better than a zoo. Very relaxing place. You can walk all day in the forest with fresh air. So many animals to see. Buffaloes, deer, mouse, goats, rabbits, wild pigs, Luchs, wolves, and more. Super nice. Also ponies for kids to ride on. And playgrounds for kids. Overall a wonderful place to visit. Highly recommended.

Ronneburg Castle

Sights & Landmarks
Renaissance-era castle drawing visitors year round for themed shows, holiday markets & dining.
I recently had the pleasure of attending one of the best festivals I've ever experienced in Germany! The costumes were absolutely wonderful, and the program was incredibly entertaining. From start to finish, I was completely captivated by the unique and engaging performances. The attention to detail in the costumes and overall production was truly impressive, making the festival a truly immersive experience. I highly recommend this festival to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind cultural experience in Germany. It is truly a must-see event that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime!

We came here for the Christmas market and it just may be my favorite Christmas market. It's set in a medieval castle and the market expands from outside to all inside the castle. Very cool! Has a very authentic medieval market feel and lots of homemade gifts, lots of things you wouldn't find at traditional markets. Lots of people dress up in medieval attire which was also cool. Lots of really good food options as well. The market is only open certain weekends, so plan in advance!
Amanda Crook — Google review
Great place I would go there again. For a fee you are able to go in. There is a lot to see. You can climb the stairs to the top of a tower and see the country side in every direction. Such a great view.
Matt Tubbs — Google review
It is an 800year old castle with a lot of history. You will be taken into the many rooms that has been turned into a solemnization of marriage. Some rooms have been turned into activities room. The kitchen brought you to old times and the well is a great architecture of the olden times.

What an amazing place to see, The Ronneburg ist a pretty special place to me. As a kid I spent a lot of time here exploring the old castle and it's surroundings.
The original part of the Castle was built in the 1300's.The Well house of the Ronneburg ist definitely a visitor favorite. The Well at an original depth of 436 feet, the water table today is about 275 feet. Personally it's hard for me to comprehend how they even built this 100's of years ago without modern machinery. Listen to how long it takes for the water to hit bottom. This should definitely be on the list of must see places.

Amazing. The only difference between here and Renaissance faires in the US is that the backgrounds are real. That’s pretty significant honestly. I loved learning about life in an old castle and it’s goings on. If I’m ever back I’ll have to check out the Knight Tournaments!!!

Nice castle with its unique Castle day event in the beginning of October. A lot of medival dressed up people, tents with medival crafts presented, different current time food options, fur, leather and medival style clothes and asessories, knives and swords. Dressed up bands playwing castle music on that time instruments and small performances with jokes are there too to intertain the crowd.
The only one thing I wish was there - cooked medival style food you can get instead of common brats with french fries 🍟. I would pay extra and wait in line just to see my food cooked in a big medival pot)) food cooked by dressed up tent owners was cooked for their own group.
There were few parking lots open, all for 3 euro.

We really enjoyed Ronneburg Castle, especially during Walpurgisnacht, where witches, fairies, jesters, and many characters from fairy tales and the Middle Ages come to life. There was a market with a variety of goods, all stylized to fit the medieval theme. At the market, you could also taste cherry beer and sausages - there was something for everyone! You could also enter the castle and walk up the stairs, where you could eat onion soup or simply enjoy tea or coffee with cake. There were also many activities for children, such as a carousel, archery, and face painting. The tower was particularly memorable, as it offered a breathtaking view that was worth waiting in line for about 20 minutes.

This is an truly amazing place to visit has such historic presence and beautiful views over surrounding lands .
This was my second time visiting this castle and was fortunate to be shown the Christmas market held hear each year in December where everyone dresses up for the occasion and enjoys the medieval festival.
They put on a great show hear with food, drinks, products and fire pits scattered around to keep a little warmer.
For the kids they have a mini carousel with different seats .
The castle itself is special to check out and has cool interactive photo props placed in locations though out .
The Christmas event runs from 11am till 8pm
And on for each of the 3 Sundays before Christmas .

We visited during the mediaeval Christmas market and had a great time. The stalls were interesting and generally well priced. The food and drink stalls received most of my money. A part of the market is held inside the castle with some emulation of how life might have been back in the day. Priests sang and led ceremonies in the chapel, cooks kept the kitchen fire going.

Gorgeous castle in fantastic condition. If you can make it to their medieval Christmas market, do!!! So many lovely booths and lots of people in costume, including guests.
Absolutely gorgeous town. Specially in the snow!! The Christmas market is also magical. Get lost in its streets and discover beautiful building and friendly people

This was during the Eastern market that they have on the weekends around Easter. It's fun they sell some food it isn't big like a Christmas market. But it is a fun place to go and has a festive atmosphere and all the shops are open even on Sunday. They sell some brats and some snitchel some ice cream and things like that

It's quite an interesting little town with very historic wall around the old city that you can walk on part of it's obviously had a lot of money spent on it however it's probably only worth 1/2 Day trip.
one thing I can recommend is that the if you are to visit this place, them visit it by bicycle, because there are some excellent bicycle paths along the River and some in shade when it's hot and it is very lovely you can for example riding from 10 km North of Michelstadt and do it in about 35 to 40 minutes.

It's a beautiful place and Christmas decoration are really worth the trip (around 17 all the lights are led). Hence the pandemic everything was closed when we were there but at least there was aslo no crowd.
Built between 1605 & 1614 this large castle served as residence of the archbishop-electors of Mainz.
I was here a kind of by mistake from a friend who took me there ...when got there and listen to the history of this place after 400 years Schloss is build...I can imagine such big structure standing like that till date..due I was there in the night.

Lovely palace. We visited the museum too. Some parts of the museum are closed, but whatever can be visited is nice and informative. There was a special exhibition on models made of cork. That was quite nice. You can buy a combination ticket to visit the museum + Pompejanum. The staff at the counter was very helpful and explained everything well.

Beautifull place; the museum was closed,it works till 17 hours, but despite of that there is much to see. Gorgeous gardens, fantastic view from the terase. Only thing is there is no access to the strollers,so if you are going with a baby as we did be prepared to lift up and down the stroller 😁 below the castle there's a river and promenade on wich there is a some sort of Cafe. It is selfservis type.

The history from the time it was built to the current state is all documented inside. Plus the church inside is breathtaking. Plan 4 hours to see everything inside and out.

Be sure to leave enough time to see everything. The models of the palace over time, from Medieval to WWII, are very informative. Be sure to walk down to the river afterward for a beer or cider at the pleasant pop-up bar.

Nice clean place. A little expensive but when it's quiet you can enjoy it.. when it's busy, there are no available sun loungers inside. I've not been there in summer and imagine it gets very busy. Food and drink options are ok but also expensive. Check it out though, it's worth a look.

Nice place to spend the week-end. The pools are heated, indoor and outdoor. It would be nice to have some places to dry the bathrobe and the towels ... It was a music and light festival on Saturday, the 5th of October 2023. Nice athmospere!
Martonosy Asociatii — Google review
The room looks just like the online photos. Overall the hotel is a quiet place and even the hallways are padded to reduce noise. The pools are clean but may get crowded during periods of high use. The breakfast food buffet was well stocked and they don't skimp on quality. Free wifi--which was useful because my room didn't have the standard book of services and things to do in the local area like many places I've visited. The sauna is textile free--so if you want a sauna you need to be prepared for the European experience.
Alfred Kell — Google review
I really enjoy the swim hall very much. However, tonight, the bubble machine (pumps) were not operational. Part of the enjoyment of the warm salt water is the water features. This particular evening, the music was excessively loud, even in the sound room.
Micky Farrington — Google review
To everyone who is ok with an average spa which is also focused on a normal swimming pool atmosphere this is the place to go. To everyone who is used to a more intimate, quiet and luxurious experience this spa is not recommendable. Showers and clocks are broken, toilets aren't clean, sauna area is crowded at least at the weekend (even though late in the evening).
Hannah Siefert — Google review
Despite I am not a big fun of thermal baths I think this one is a nice one. Very new, modern and well organized. Unfortunately the swimming pools are not very big and it tends to be quite crowded especially at peak hours. The inside restaurant does not have a huge variety of food and it is quite basic. There is a very large sauna area with many different types of sauna although you need to be prepared to be totally naked to enjoy 😀. Overall a nice experience!
Gianmarco Cicuzza — Google review
I’ve been to many saunas and thermal baths before, this one didn’t impress me. Thermal baths were great, we could swim in 2 indoor pools, chill in the jacuzzi and enjoy swimming outdoors surrounded by nature.
Sauna area was not so nice. Several saunas were closed. We could only go to 90 and 55 degree sauna and hamam. No cold pool where you could cool down after heat. Jacuzzi had a barely warm water instead of hot. Showers are really uncomfortable to use because the water stream is literally hitting you while changing from hot to ice cold all the time. No shower gel provided. Small details are missing.
We also had to decide on and pay for the time of staying before going in. 2 hours 20€, 4 hours 26€ per person. If you stay longer, you have to pay extra for every 30 min.
Overall it was okay. But you could feel that there is no soul in it.
Angelica — Google review
A beautiful place with a pleasant atmosphere and an excellent spa.
Avi Vainshtein — Google review
The place is not good at all. It was defined as the thermal bath but the same type of salt water used at 3 pools. Liquid sound is not available at all. It’s only one day on month, this is never mentioned anywhere on the website. And it’s very small and crowded. Only one sauna and one Dampf sauna works and rest were closed. And the guy who take class was very rude and it only last for 10 min. There is nothing in the class just some old guy putting water on stones. There is no nice smell at wall in the sauna. I really had high hopes for this thermal bath but was really dissatisfied. The guy at reception also tricked us to take tickets to come again by paying more but it’s not worth it.
Burg Wertheim, also known as the Wertheim Castle, is situated on a hillside and can be reached by a 15-minute uphill walk from the village. While it is mostly in ruins, it offers an intriguing historical experience with well-explained historic facts for interested visitors. The castle provides stunning views of the picturesque town of Wertheim. Additionally, there are nearby restaurants and places to relax with family or friends after exploring the castle.
We visited the castle. Restaurant in a castle, what better combination. Of course I tried the food. Everything was delicious, I ordered Mediterranean shrimp, semi-dry white wine and finally an apple strudel with a Baileys latte, the latter I think is a special because I didn't see it on the menu, but I did see it on the blackboard. An excellent experience, the day was sunny luckily and we ate outside with the wonderful view and food. Highly recommended.

We were looking forward to dinner in the Berg...but unfortunately it was underwhelming generally. Food was OK but not great value. However, it was the service that was particularly ordinary, to the point of rudeness, that disappointed and dominated our evening. Interior decor is also nothing impressive...so we have probably had our last Berg meal. Perhaps alfresco in the warmer months, with a friendlier waiter, could work :)

Wertheim Village is an outdoor shopping mall designed like a village, offering over 100 outlet stores from well-known brands. Conveniently located on the A3 motorway, it's just a 50-minute drive from Frankfurt and 60 minutes from Nuremberg, with ample free parking available. The area is easily accessible by train and bus as well. The village features various wheelchair-accessible boutiques, clean restrooms with facilities for parents, and open restaurants.
Great location and easy to reach through the Autobahn.
Different brands are represented in Wertheim Village. And if you go for the special sales events, you’ll get great offers for your money.
All boutiques are wheelchair accessible.
The rest rooms are clean and well maintained.
Including a place for the parents to change their little ones outfit.
Wheelchair friendly.
Restaurants are currently open.
But due to the pandemic the “Shopping Express” shuttle isn’t available.
Credit cards are welcomed.
Unfortunately some boutiques don’t accept AMEX.
The parking space is huge and they offer underground parking too.
Unfortunately, no charging spots for electric vehicles.
Tourist Information is open.
As long your dog is on a leash they are generally welcomed.
You can also borrow dog trolley’s at the Tourist Information.
Overall highly recommended for a day trip with your family and your friends.
I wish you all a happy day!

Good designer outlet village, wide selection of shops and brands, space is clean and neatly arranged, well maintained.
Unfortunatelly, there is lack of facilities for kids, small playground would be an advantage for bored kids, some toy shop will make kids a bit more willing to suffer endless walking with parents back and forth among those clothes shops.
Sergii Prakhov — Google review
Great outlet shopping experience. This outlet is a bit far away from the Frankfurt CBD area if you take a train and bus to get there. Luckily, I found and booked their shuttle bus to get there; it was so convincing. The only comment for their shuttle bus is that the return time is a bit early, at 3:25 PM. This is a beautiful countryside outlet, with a nice view, and many famous shops with great discounts. Their Italian restaurant is quite good. But their waffle shop at the corner is a nightmare; it is cold and not good. And during the trip with the shuttle bus, you can also see a fantastic view.

Nice, tidy, safe. Nice place for shopping. Just enter a shop, show your corona proof of vaccination + id and you'll get a bracelet that will open you the doors of 90% of the shops. The other 10 will still ask to check the proof and Id. Easy access, free parking (outside and underground).
Charles Moussoux — Google review
I recently visited the Wertheim Village outlet mall and was disappointed with my shopping experience. While the mall offers a decent selection of brands, I found that the prices were not as much of a bargain as I had expected. In comparison to other outlet malls, such as Metzingen, the discounts were not as significant, and I felt like I wasn't getting the best value for my money.
Another issue that I encountered was the limited range of brands available at the mall. While there were some well-known brands, I was disappointed to find that there were fewer options than I had expected. This made it difficult to find what I was looking for, and I left feeling like the selection was somewhat underwhelming.
Overall, while the Wertheim Village outlet mall has its merits, I would not recommend it as strongly as other outlet malls in the area. While there are some good deals to be found, the prices are not as low as other outlets, and the range of brands available is somewhat limited. If you're looking for a true outlet bargain, you may want to consider visiting other outlet malls in the area instead.

You can get ultimate offers and products in a heavenly environment. They have arranged every shop very evenly. The lighting is amazing. But I think it's better to go with our own vehicle. You really get good deals and good food. You will enjoy the time 😇

Whimsical themed outlet with a nice variety of shops for most bargain hunters. Our personal favorite was the fun and colorful Lindt chocolate shop! We also found deep discounts at the Zwilling JA Henckels shop. Most discounts ranged from 30-60%.
Nearby is a wonderful Italian restaurant, L’Osteria.
Plenty of convenient parking, short drive from Frankfurt and the discounts make the visit worthwhile.

Very big shopping outlet. Lots of parking space, and pretty much every shop. Good food options around the place. Nice fairytale theme
The Marienberg Fortress, a reconstructed stronghold from the 13th century, is home to art and history museums. It boasts formal terrace gardens and is also known as the Princely Garden. Situated due east of the fortress, it complements its counterpart while offering convenience for visitors in terms of proximity. The garden serves as a landmark and features an observation deck that provides breathtaking views of Wurzburg, including the city's river.
Well worth the walk up, the view is something else. I recommend the way up through the vineyards. The iconic view with the city towers is somewhat below the fortress before starting the real climb

Definitely recommended to visit. If you are not interested in museum you can enjoy the beautiful view free of charge. Parking just beneath the castle is well situated. Prices: weekday 3€/h, weekends 1€/h

Amazing view from the garden and the museum (5 euro admission) is quite impressive. I did not think the museum would be that extensive. It takes you on a time journey from the early farming era to the Baroque period.

This place is a beautiful place to go to, and a must for anyone visiting Würzburg or is nearby the area. Climbing up to the castle is about a mile walk, and depending on which way you go, it can be a shorter steeper way, or about a mile less steep way. As you get higher up, the view gets better and better of Würzburg. Once you reach the top, you can explore the castle before going to the side a viewing the view. Must take photos along the way. Going at night is even more breathtaking, where the main building of Würzburg are lit up, and pop out of the city.

As the information displays will tell you, in this fortress you can discover many different epochs of history. Just walking around the place there is so much to see, so many corners to explore. And then... you also get a beautiful view over the city and in the distance the Käppele Sanctuary, which you should visit if in town.

Very lucky to visit it on a sunny day. The place is beautiful. Somehow felt like walking into Spirited Away world after the tunnel. Would definitely recommend to go.

Picturesque castle at the top of the hillwith fabulousviews of the town and countryside.. I dont recommend walking for people with health issues related to feet or knees. There are
A number of steep stairs and paths going up and coming down.
There is a small parking area up top for vehicles. Look into a tour if you go. Small gift shop. Refreshments consist of vending machines.

Beautiful works of art throughout and beautiful gardens. All religious art, which was all the rage at the time.
I would enjoy it much more if the interior exhibits were set up as they would have been when the Fortress was inhabited. And if there were more English explanations.

Beautiful view. Best place to watch whole city
Tanvir Ahammad Moon — Google review
A fantastic place to visit, free to get in, a massive fortress. Showing all the different stages of it's evolution, it still has the original 13th century keep in the center.
The city's oldest stone bridge, known as the Alte Mainbrucke or Old Main Bridge, is reserved for pedestrians and showcases statues of saints and other notable icons. Constructed between 1473 and 1543 to replace a Romanesque bridge from 1133, this historic structure was embellished with twelve statues measuring 4.5 meters in two phases starting in 1730.
Scenic, old architecture, beautiful and relaxing. Don’t forget to buy a glass of wine from the shops at the end of the bridge. This is the heart of Würzburg. Always bustling with lots of people around, standing with a glass of wine and admiring the beauty of the city with fortress and riverfront on one side and the beautiful vineyards on the other side. A historical cobblestone bridge which looks a lot like the replica of the famous Charles bridge in Prague, with the statutes dating from 18th century standing on both the sides. It is a recommended place to watch the sunsets as you can observe the sky changing the shades across the vineyards.
Animesh Kumar — Google review
A very busy, touristy bridge. If you've been around Europe a little, you've probably seen this before with fewer crowds. It's in the city center and the nicest way across the river, but I wouldn't view it as an urgent attraction by itself.

beautiful bridge. Everyone is seen drinking a glass of wine. and you can see through binoculars for a €2 coin. nothing else to do. There is a place to walk down from the bridge. a little noisy.

i recommend to go there as early as possible! if you go there a bit late is pack of so much people. side of the bridge theres a wine restaurant. You can bus some glass of wine and stay at the side of the bridge while drinking. Bridge was beautiful and the view to the Fortress castle you can see through.

This place is where people should go and relax. Restaurants nearby offer the visitors to drink a glass of wine or beer in the bridge itself.

Amazing views off the Old Main Bridge that allow you to see both sides of the river, but also a straight view down Alte Mainbrucke (both the town hall and church). Highly recommend coming here both during the day and evening, as you can simply stroll and enjoy with some wine.

The most favorite place to sip a glass of wine, watching cruise ships going through the lock on the Main river and having a beautiful view onto the castle and old town. This the best place to relax in Würzburg.
Torsten Fischer — Google review
There is plenty to interest and divert in Würzburg. Museums, bars, restaurants and beautiful streets bound.
What makes the Main Bridge worth your time? Well, there is the draw of drinking a glass of fine wine with a view of the vineyards that produced it. There is the chance to see just how impressive the River Main is. Wide, fast flowing, wild and exciting. There is a romantic aspect, the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable even if you just want to walk and enjoy the views. Oh, and it is free.
We didn't drink, but we did stop to enjoy the view. It is busy but if you are in the city you must stop by.

Leaving Wurzburg today but got to walk for couple of hours from the Fortress through some residential, cute hillside walk paths, and across the "Old Stone Bridge" into city centre.
The iconic stone bridge is home to many statues and the famous "wine house", standing room only, able to enjoy some wine while watching the Danube River rush by ...

One of Würzburg ’s most iconic landmarks. Best time to be here, from my experience, its crack of dawn or dusk to catch the sunset. Early Sundays AM are also a good bet for great photo ops minus the crowds. Late afternoon, it gets super festive and busy when the bars are open and enjoy the “Brückenschoppen”🍷🍷

Main Bridge at Wurzburg is a lively place, particularly during evenings. It almost feels like entire Wurzburg reaches there to spend some good time 😊 With the pleasant surroundings, clean air and nice food/drinks, people can be seen having a great time. The architecture of castle in the backdrop, adds to the beauty and charm of the place. If you like ice cream, there is a wonderful place nearby. 😊

The Mainbrücke in Würzburg offers great views of the Main River, as well as on the old town and the palace. The bridge's iconic statues and its old stones, as well as the fact that it is a completely pedestrian axis, make it a must-see attraction for visitors exploring this picturesque german city.

One of the main touristic highlights in the city, particularly popular because of the astonishing view on the river and the fortress on the hill. Very atmospheric tradition is to take a glass of local rose wine or aperol and drink it on the bridge directly over the river. But be ready to meet a 100m queue before the wine shop on holidays. My recommendation is to visit this place in the late Spring or early Summer.
Dmytro Pivovarov — Google review
Fantastic place in the evening, everyone comes onto the bridge to wine and dine, often on the weekends musicians play. An experience not to be missed on a hot sunny evening.
There was no rowdiness or drunken behavior, went there on a Tuesday evening in July, the bridge and riverside was bustling with people having a fun peaceful evening.

(Translated by Google) Obelisk fountain / market fountain
The obelisk fountain or market fountain was planned and built in 1802 by Johann Andreas Gärtner. The fountain operates during the warm season.
The classical fountain marks the center of the Lower Market Square and consists of an approximately 15 meter high obelisk on a square pedestal, each with a simple fountain bowl in the east and west directions. It is possible that the obelisk commemorates the beginning of national surveying, for which the triangulation process required prominent auxiliary points. Gärtner used local shell limestone to create the fountain.
Antique reliefs were subsequently added to the north and south sides of the fountain pedestal in 1881 based on drawings by Johann Martin von Wagner. These show women transporting food and drinks (some carrying them on their heads) and therefore reflect the everyday hustle and bustle in the market square very well. The reliefs are intended to commemorate the Napoleonic period under Grand Duke Ferdinand of Würzburg. (wikipedia)

Obeliskbrunnen / Marktbrunnen

Located in the heart of the vineyards in Wurzburg, Germany, is a grand 18th-century palace known as Würzburg Residence. This lavish castle offers guided tours showcasing its exquisite frescos and paintings. It also boasts formal gardens that add to its charm and beauty. The Residenz palace is a significant architectural landmark, representing various European styles brought together under one roof.
I've visited the Residenz many times over the years and it's always an amazing experience. I love walking in the gardens, climbing the terraces and enjoying the view of the palace. This time I went inside again after several years and it was a very pleasant surprise to see how the presentation has changed. The large prints of black and white photos showing the destruction after 16 March 1945 add an impressive layer to the historic rooms.

One of my favorite castle in Germany. It’s a really beautiful place and there’s so much to see. The rooms are very beautiful and some impressive. However, the staff was quite unfriendly and even a bit rude. They also do not allowed photos inside but I saw a lot of people doing it and the staff ignored them so I did the same. I also want to mention that they have beautiful blossom in their garden during spring. It was magical!

It is very beautiful residence in Würzburg. We can not take a picture for inside of residence. However there are many amazing displays. Especially I would like to recommend to see a painting on the ceiling. It is most beautiful around the Germany.
The garden is also beautiful and you can visit freely and take a picture.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside - you definitely don't want to miss it!
The incredulous wall and ceiling paintings, the breath taking mirror room and the amounts of silver and gold throughout are just one part of it, there's lots more.
Saying that, I usually don't like castles too much, but this one.... Boy-oh-boy

one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. You will never regret paying only 9 euros for it. It is one of the must-see places if you are in Würzburg. It took me 3 hours just to soak up the interior. Very amazing sculpture, building, color meaning, everything is amazing. And the park next to it was also clean and comfortable, of course you can enter it for free. And don't forget one thing. You have to leave your bag and put 1€ in the locker to keep it and get it back when you're done. I had a 50 cent coin and it wouldn't work. A perfect place to take a perfect picture, just like a painting.

Strongly recommended if you are in Würzburg. A beautiful piece of architecture with an amazing interior and an absolutely beautiful garden. The only drawback is that you cannot take the pictures of the palace from the inside. A very well maintained garden area with many varieties of flowers and a fountain in the backyard. On the 10th day of our Viking Grand European Tour, we stopped at this grand location. This is part of tour package so we didn’t have to pay the entrance fee. The Residence is grand on the outside as well as on the inside. It’s just a little bit disappointing not to be able to take pictures inside but to see it with my own eyes is great. Upon completing the inside tour, you can also visit the courtyard garden and enjoy the flowers, shrubs and trees that complement the grandeur of this tourist attraction. By the way, the place is also wheelchair accessible via an elevator if you want to go to the main attraction inside the building.

Definitely worth doing the tour in English as the guide was both informative and amusing. The entire palace is quite extraordinary, particularly since it was reconstructed following the British Obliteration in the Second World War (May will be forgiven please).
The attention to detail in the restoration is worthy of particular comment, no one would know that these are not the original plaster, stucco or frescoes.

KissSalis Therme Bad Kissingen is a beautiful and relaxing wellness destination with a variety of pools and amenities, including sauna, steam bath, gym, and saline inhalation steam room. Nice selection of varying temperature pools and amenities (sauna, steam bath, gym, peat packs). Glass steam bath and saline inhalation steam room was a treat. A wellness aspect prevailed mostly, however, unsupervised and uncontrolled children can throw a wrench in the atmosphere unexpectedly with runnings around and pool splashing. Probably best to go first thing during the week, when a mature group is prevalent, as usual. A good morning ticket special. Very popular (read quite crowded at times) on weekends. Ample parking, lockers and poolside storage. Wellness/peat packs staff was very professional and friendly, and information center staff efficient and helpful.

Very nice place. Warm water, more for adults than kids. Salt water pool, cold water pools and wonderfully relaxing hot water pools. Sauna, and steam rooms. You can get massages here, but they need to be booked ahead of time. Restraunt in the pool area with really good food, and beer and assorted drinks. Extremely clean bathrooms and shower areas as well. A little bit on the pricey side, but for the price you will not find anything this good in the area.

This is the best thermal bath we’ve found in this area of Germany. Only a few complaints: Staff can be a little rude when they find out you don’t speak German. Also would appreciate more signs or guidance for children to not be playing so wildly splashing everyone, it’s very difficult to relax here with children running and splashing around like crazy. Food definitely isn’t amazing but it’s what you’d expect. The hot bath used to be much hotter about a year ago, but it’s cooled down significantly this year. I used to only be able to stay in it for 5-10 minutes but now could stay in it for over an hour. Besides these drawbacks it’s definitely a great place to visit, weekdays are better. We also visited the Moor room and had to be completely naked with one other couple, which was a bit of a culture shock but we went along with it and it ended up being great and relaxing.

We visited the pool side twice and had a great time both times. The extra buoyancy of the salt water pool is great for floating and relaxing.
We enjoyed the 'lazy river' loop which has a countdown timer but it was often quite crowded.

Wildlife park home to deer, moose & birdlife, plus mini golf, a kids' play area & a splash pool.
Wonderful animal park. Free entry and parking. Bring 50ct pieces for the official animal food vending machines.
As a child, I spent spring and summer days at the old "Waldspielplatz". In the past decade, it has been refurbished and remade as a wonderful, spacious, green park with minigolf, playgrounds, water basin (in summer) and lots of animals in large compounds. Some of them are really creative, as the fortress "Boarstone" and the farm of Bauer "Hof". Free entry is an amazing treat with many local companies supporting the construction and restauration of the place. Alas, the Wishing Gate should not be missed. Also watch out for crafty pieces of masonry and carpentry all around the park. At the end of your trail, where you can see local wildlife such as goats, pigs, boars, elks, rabbits, deer, donkeys, owls and the like, rest at the beergarden and have a "Rothwild" beer, bratwurst, fries, coffee and/or ice cream. And do not forget to invest in an Elch cookie! At the end of your visit, please generously donate a few bucks for the maintenance of this social project.

Great park. We spent open to close there. Food was priced reasonably and ride lines were quick.

Suitable for various age groups. There are several attractions even for adults. There are several themed food stations, lots of clean toilets, enough parking space. We brought our dog as well. We just needed to buy a ticket for 2 euros for her. Easy to spend the day.

Excellent place near to Wurzburg we had a great time we spent whole day this place .
Less people not much wait also have lot of things to do you wouldn't boring at all .
Must visit with kids price is not expensive.

Such a nice little amusement park but we got there after 1130 and very little was open. The food places opened up after 1230 and most rides were still closed when we left at 3pm. The price is about 27 euros per person. We enjoyed it just wish more was open. They have added more since last year. I would still recommend checking it out. It is not super busy so hardly any lines for rides or concessions.

In general we had a lovely day there.
The park is not that big but offers a wide range of activities for all age groups more suited for families and children. If you are an adrenalin junky you will find a few attractions but not that a variety as in other parks.
We liked that there were food stalls and toilets everywhere and the wildlife areas to calm down a bit from the excitement. Some of the attractions seem a bit dated, though they are still fun to ride.
The new area that was opened this year (Asia themed) looked nice, but the dragon rollercoaster didn't live up to our expectations. (no real light show or exciting exhibits, could do much better!)
If you are looking for a nice family day, this will suit you fine 😉

Its a strange collection of attractions, some clearly left overs from earlier decades or second hand from other large attraction parks. But, nice atmosphere, green surroundings, not too busy. So, you pick what you like and go over and over again in the same attraction. For younger children lots of fun options. For teenagers too limited. My 13 and 15 year old enjoyed it for a couple of hours, but too few really exciting rollercoasters etc. Prices for food and drinks are high with 3 EUR for a black coffee. Zero vegan options. It's all just s bit out of date or conservative. Maybe exemplary for Bavaria?

Yullbe 3D supposed to be cool stuff. Right? Wrong. If you want to throw away 6€ into the trash, better just buy a burger for yourself instead (they've also got vegetarian, just in case of...). Don't. Just don't.

This is a great day out for a family with attractions suitable for all age groups. The park is well maintained and the layout offers plenty of shade and diversity. This would have been five stars from me if the prices were a bit more moderate. Kids pay full price from 1.40 m size, no family tickets and on site food, drinks and ice-cream are quite expensive. I recommend big families to bring their own food and drink.

Currently under construction work, but the 1h guided tour was definitely worth the visit and provided great insights into the life at and history of the residence.
Very engaging and would recommend.
I especially liked learning about the everyday life at the residence.
I would also suggest to spend some time in the close-by gardens and doing a city tour, for example with the free digiwalk Ansbach audio tour which is available in English and German.

Beautiful residence with plenty of history. Tours are only in German, and they do offer a pamphlet in English, but not everything is covered that the guide talks about and points out. There's construction in several rooms that s supposed to last for the next 3 years. So much of the furniture is covered up. I would suggest adding an audio tour in different languages. Otherwise, it's a great experience and an amazing price! (€5 per adult and kids were free)

I would not recommend this tour for young children. This was a wonderful and informative tour. We were supposed to be on a German speaking tour (our choice due to time) with English booklets on the exhibits but because we were the only one the guide did the tour in English. The art work displayed was amazing. They are in the process of renovations (April 2019) so some exhibits could not be viewed, however they had photos of them. The run every hour and it was less than €10 for myself and my husband.
The Neue Residenz Bamberg is a beautiful palace that was built in the 17th century. The interior of the castle is filled with ornate ceilings, tapestries, and art. The rose garden is also an added attraction. The palace is open for guided tours and it is a must-visit for anyone visiting Bamberg.
This is definitely a place for painting and sculpture lover. Prince bishop’s collection is massive. The baroque style imperial hall is stunning.

A beautiful well maintained historical landmark with lots of paintings, and a guided tour of the Bishop's residence included with your entry ticket. Must visit for a tour of Bamberg.
Raoul Coutinho — Google review
The massive building is quite modest from the outside, but inside there are plenty of lavishly decorated rooms.
The visit to the Prince-Bishop's Apartment is only guided and in German. We were the first ones in the morning and since there was no one but us, we were very lucky and got a personal tour in English.
The rose garden is nice but quite small and since it is free to enter, it was too crowded during our visit, regular visitors plus several tour buses with tourist groups.

Good amount of Things to see, takes about 2 hrs or so if you go a bit slow. Includes a 30 min tour that's worth waiting for.
A nice little historic museum to gawk at the lavish and awkward interiors of rich people's homes in olden times. Cribs: minor European royals edition.
Rooms are mega cold tho. We literally left/rushed through the last sections because it was absolutely freezing inside.

Very big and luxurious palace. When I first visited I was wondering why does a relatively small city need a palace as big as the ones found in some royal capitals. Then I learned about the town's history as the seat of an HRE Prince Bishop which was an interesting history lesson.

A beautiful and historic building again close to the old town. Is right next to the historic old court and Bamberg Cathedral. Although it looks really promising from outside we couldn’t manage time to visit inside. It has a beautiful garden with mostly roses in the inner yard. Next time we would be visiting inside too.

Didn’t go inside, though the interior looks stunning. Just as pretty on the outside with its baroque architecture. Interesting shape too to admire in an L shape enclosing the Domplatz. Right by other sites such as the old court and the Dom. Absolute must visit when in town!

It was as majestic as the surrounding buildings. It had a beautiful garden we explored. We did not go into the castle but the cathedral and courtyard nearby gave you a sense of mediaeval times. At the garden was a beautiful lookout over the city.
The Bamberg Cathedral is a beautiful and historic Catholic cathedral located in Bamberg, Germany. Over the centuries, it has been the seat of the Archbishops of Bamberg and contains many artistic treasures, most notably the slender equestrian statue of the Bamberger Reiter (Bamberg Horseman), whose true identity remains a mystery. The cathedral is also associated with King Heinrich II, who became Emperor later in life.
A beautiful church with an extremely calming experience when you sit inside. Recommend lighting candles and looking at the beautiful decorations when here.

The cathedral of Bamberg is definitely one of the greatest buildings in the city. By the time we arrived there it was already closed, but we could appreciate the external architecture nonetheless; next to the cathedral there’s also a garden which is worth the visit.
Flavio Pimentel — Google review
The Bamberg Cathedral, completed in the 13th century, holds significant historical and cultural importance, earning its place in the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Town of Bamberg" since 1993. Officially known as Bamberg Cathedral of St. Peter and St. George, it is also referred to as the Kaiserdom or Imperial Cathedral. This cathedral houses the only papal grave in Germany after the destruction of Pope Benedict V's tomb in Hamburg in the early 19th century. Emperor Heinrich II and his wife Kunigunde are interred in a sepulcher near the entrance, while Pope Clement II is also buried here.
Visitors, like those depicted in the reviews, appreciate the cathedral's stunning architecture, intricate paintings, and notable historical figures entombed within. Despite its grandeur, some find the interior slightly underwhelming compared to other cathedrals in Germany, particularly in terms of design aesthetics. While access to certain areas like the cathedra, papal tomb, and frescoes may be restricted, guided tours are available, offering insights into the cathedral's rich history. Entry is free, making it a must-visit attraction in Bamberg.

It is hard to find words to express the beauty of this place. Put aside 2 hours to travel slow through the cathedral area.

Monumental cathedral with a lot of history and importance!
Built in the 13th century - to the form as we see today - it's one of the most sacred buildings in Germany, and indeed from the outside the architecture is stunning distinguishing the cathedral by four majestic towers visible from most parts of the city. Even though the cathedral was under construction I was still able to admire its beauty, I especially appreciate the detailed Prince's portal on the side of the cathedral.
From the inside it was a bit let down. Yes, seeing the horseman, the most significant work of art in the cathedral, alongside the organs and the interior was great, but nothing mind blowing - judging strictly from the design perspective, not the cultural heritage. There are simply more beautiful cathedrals around Germany. From up close I was able to see The Tomb of the Saintly Imperial couple and the horsemen, unfortunately the cathedra, papal tomb (the only place north of Alps with buried pope) and the fresco of The Second Coming of Christ at the apse were fenced, therefore not able to admire from up close in details.
There is no organized tour inside nor you can go to one of its towers (let down for me as I like seeing places from above), but you can purchase a small brochure for 1 EUR to help you navigate through the place. Be aware that opening hours may vary due to masses (during my time of visit the cathedral was closed between 12:00 and 12:30). Free entry. Visited in July 2022.

History said that it was built and founded by Henry II in the year 1004 and it was declared sacred in 1012. It burnt down twice that it took a long time to rebuild.
A magnificent and majestic cathedral I've ever seen in Bamberg that composes of 4 big towers that surround and a solemn place inside though a presence tourists can be seen.
It has a very rich history and famous cathedral in Germany.
A lot of statues inside and outside of the cathedral.
Lots of sculptures, carvings and styles (Romaneque and Gothic) are impressive and superb.
There are lots of altars and organs (1415, 1868 and 1976) that mostly built against the north wall.
We can find here the only place in Germany where the grave of Pope Clement II is buried.
The tombs of Henry II and his wife - Empress Cunigunde are buried here too.
A worthy place to visit and there was no entrance fee when I visited this cathedral.
Observed dress code when visiting this place.
According to the information, its official name is Bamberg Cathedral of St. Peter and St. George. It is also called the Kaiserdom (“Imperial Cathedral”).

What a historic building right at the center of Bamberg and close to the old rathaus. The cathedral portrays Catholic over a millennium aga and the richness it offers through history of Church for the people of Bamberg.
Monuments are nicely spaced out as the hall is large (with ongoing constructions of the podium).
There's underground sitting place unfortunately locked and out of access to visitors as of yesterday. However you'll still find enough to go round and appreciate the beauty of it's architecture or see God in the splendor of how the people of Bamberg largely perceived as Catholics.
Sure during mass one find another atmosphere to observe institution of church at service to it's members. However as visitor it's already enough to enjoy sightseeing. Nearby you'll find various attractions and city life, rose flower garden, eateries and museums. There's nothing to miss visiting this cathederal.

A marvelous medieval church with a really long history dating back to 11th century, its construction was only finished by 13th century. It is amazing to see a mixture of both Romanesque and gothic styles within the same cathedral. The four imposing church towers is a sight to admire from a distance. It has many interesting relics and an underground chapel, which makes it unique from other churches I have visited.
It is a burial tomb of Henry II and Pope Clement II, which makes it the only church to have a Papal grave in Germany. Located on a small hill top, can be reached through a small walk from the old town.

Welcome to the Cathedral of St Peter and St George. Commissioned in 1012 over 1000 years ago, in the 13th century.
The Altes Rathaus, a renowned historical building and porcelain museum is located in Hanover, Germany. Constructed in 1410, it was the first town hall to be built in the city's old district. Following severe bomb attacks during World War II, it underwent restoration from 1953-1964.

What a majestic and historic place! This rathaus is located at the heart of the city of Bamberg. The building was renovated in 1461. Also the mural painted on the wall was done in 1960. Must visit tourist place in Bamberg.

In history, first mentioned was built in 1387 and it was rebuilt between 1461 to 1467 and 1744 to 1756 by Johann Jakob Michael Küchenl. The façade was originally painted and created by Johann Anwander in 1755 and restored so many times, but in 1959 it was repainted again by Anton Greiner.
It was stated in the history that the Bishop of Bamberg (that time) doesn't want to give any of his land to the citizens, then the citizen built on an artificial small island along river stream Linker Regnitzarm that marks between episcopal mountain town and bourgeois island town.
Now, it is part of UNESCO World Heritage and one of the iconic landmarks in Bamberg that throng of tourists passes by here just to have pictures of the wonderful and meaningful Old Town Hall.
A lots of coffee shops, pub, hotel and souvenirs surrounds it.
A worth and informative visit in this place.

Absolutely stunning piece of architecture and the most historical building in Bamberg. Completely full with wonderful detailed paintings on the outside wall. Built over an arch bridge, the location is really beautiful. The river flows by and a chain of bridges located next adds more to its beauty, from where you can admire the building. It is mostly crowded and if you need a solo picture of the Rathaus or yourself then you have to come in the early hours of the morning.

One of the main tourist attractions in Bamberg - worth seeing but timing is the essence!
Beautiful building with stunning exterior façade, very busy during the day as people are just passing by and there are also way too many restaurants in the proximity of the building having seating all the way up to the entrance. Very touristy place, so it's worth visiting early in the morning and have a chance to take a decent picture and walk without crowds.
I visited the indoor exhibition of Meissen porcelain, which in my opinion was amazing. Something unusual to see. I was alone all the time during a self-guided visit spread out on both floors. Most information was available in German, only a few in English, no audio guide. The rococo hall was nice, offering some nice views of the river and the main cathedral of Bamberg. Entry fee was 6 EUR and I had to lock my backpack in the locker. Temporary ceramic exhibition at the basement was great as well showing beautiful pieces.
Unfortunately none of the staff was speaking English which was unusual for a tourist place like this, however they made sure I enjoyed my visit as they provided me with some printed material in English. I was unable to visit the rococo hall at my first attempt, therefore it was okay for me to return a few hours later without paying again for a ticket. It was truly amazing to see the staff trying and helping!
Worth visiting and enjoy a little moment of quietness in bustling city! Visited in July 2022.
The ibis Bamberg Altstadt is a basic, laid-back hotel located in the heart of Bamberg. It offers complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour snack bar. Overall it is a nice hotel in a great location within walking distance to some great sights and places to eat. Hotel staff were super friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious with a comfy bed, BUT there was a very strong sewer smell in the bathroom and the shower was small and in a triangular shape so it was difficult to have a shower.
I would stay again

My husband and I arrived, during Christmas Market time. The concierge's name was Abdullah, who was very professional, personable and helpful. This hotel was close to the festivities and had underground parking. Parking fee was $20 euro for the parking, which was convenient not trying to find parking elsewhere or the possibility of walking long distances, with suitcases. The room and bathroom were very clean, location mostly quiet (in the middle of the night, there were people smoking and speaking loudly outside, which wasn't the hotel's fault), beds and pillows were comfortable and the temperature pleasant. If one didn't want to eat at the hotel, Cafe Luitpold was nearby with a delicious, fresh and nutritious breakfast. If we would travel again to Bamberg, we would consider this hotel again.

I stayed in this hotel for three nights and the staff was friendly during my stay. The room they gave me was spacious, but basically equipped, which is common for Ibis hotels. The bathroom was tiny and the holder for the shower head was broken, so it was uncomfortable to have a shower. The WIFI was fast and I liked the quiet location of the hotel not directly on the main shopping/entertainment street.

The only modern/budget hotel in the old town. Ask for rooms facing the street side (better view) and ending in 15 or 19 (larger). Not the best Ibis shower that I know (they're generally excellent), the shower floor levels with the bathroom (don't wash too enthusiastically), and there's a GREY shower curtain that doesn't let light it (now that's a first-timer!).

The spa is large and complex. I also recommend entering Sauna Land. However, it is best to prepare a bathrobe or 2 towels, because of the cold outside and possible drying of the body. Be prepared for it from Sauna Land is rather nudist for reasons of hygiene. The selection of saunas is huge and the complex is new and nicely built.

great for a day trip with children up to age ten at a fair price of €15,90 and kids under three getting in for free. the little ones enjoyed all of the attractions including plenty of different playgrounds, life-sized Playmobil figurines, water parks, outside restaurants and an indoor area with plenty of Playmobil toys for kids to build and play with. the food is your usual overpriced theme park grease (fries, burgers and ice cream, no good vegetarian options, muffins straight from the freezer) and the hotel on site didn't look all that inviting, but the actual theme park is amazing for a long sunny day and the shop by the exit is actually worth a visit too because they have some special offers and sale items you can't get anywhere else.

A brilliant experience for the whole family. Best for families with children aged between 5 and 10 but there is something that everyone can enjoy.
We started out in the main Restaurant Hub building. Our Children (8 & 10) immediately became engrossed in all the playmobil toys freely available to play with in neat themed areas. Mum and Dad and Grandparents enjoyed some coffee (actually delicious and reasonably priced!) while the kids spent 30mins playing.
From here on we adventured around all the areas of the park. It’s worth noting that this isn’t a theme park in the rollercoaster / extreme rides kind of way. Think of it as more as an adventure playground but with everything you could possibly imagine or hope for in that!
The play zones are plentiful and excellent. The kids are safe but not controlled by rules or over zealous staff. The whole place feels freeing, and refreshingly uncommercial - baring in mind of course playmobil do want to sell their toys to your kids. But this isn’t Disney levels of unbridled capitalism. More old fashioned.
Each play area is themed around a playmobil range - it is basically all playmobil toys but blown up to full size. We particularly loved the pirate ship area with rafts, the police station with the go karts and the gold mine, where you pan for gold in the sand. Excellent - and all included in the price.
All the food is good quality and very reasonably priced. Again, not obscenely over inflated (see again… Disneyland 😭)
The only slight let down was the mini golf which we paid extra for. The course was a bit uncared for and the design a bit frustrating in places. Some holes a bit boring and some a bit too hard. It just felt like it could have been a lot better. Where were the playmobil themed bits? And the stream that is meant to run down throughout the whole course wasn’t working - and didn’t look like it had worked for a long time.
Overall just a brilliant experience for our family. Highly recommended.

Great place for kids but also for parents as well because we do NOT suffer here as the kids are enjoying themselves. You are allowed to bring some cake and homemade goodies from home. You also have the opportunity buy coffee, tea, croissants from their café or even eat a proper meal at the restaurant. The facility offers a lot more in summer but is also a great place in winter. We cannot get enough of this place and come here almost once every week.

Nice park for children up to 12 years (my opinion). Lot's of fun things to do. In the summer bring your bathingsuits with you, since there are many features with water.

It's totally worth the drive and the money. Plan to sped the day for sure. We went when it was wet and cold and still had a great time! There are inside options to warm up, the food is good, and of course, there are plenty of attractions to keep the kids entertained. If it's warm out, bring spare clothes or swimsuits for the little ones because it's tough to keep them dry with all the fun water play activities.
Parking wasn't too expensive for the day. We didn't bring a stroller but would have been able to get around with one just fine.

The Playmobil park vastly exceeded any expectations I had. It's like all of the coolest playgrounds you've ever been to x100 and all in the same place. There is seriously no end to the number of slides and things to climb on and water to play in. And for 13EUR for 9-19Uhr, I can't think of a better-valued place to take your kids for the day. I wish there were one of these in Berlin.
We also found (free) parking right on the street in front of the park entrance. It was a school day, but we didn't show up early and the park was quite busy. I was pleasantly surprised with the parking situation.

We went there with our 2 yr old kid. Most of the facilities that will fit older kids, probably 3-10. But our kid still enjoys sand pit and some of the slides. Nice place for families with younger kids. (But don't have expectations on food in the park.. fatty and oily and do not look delicious)

Great park for children 12 and under. We particularly enjoyed the lagoon where the kids can get on a raft. I would’ve given it 5 stars except that there were too many people during our visit and we had to line up for some of the attractions.

Very cool amusement park! I would say it's more for younger kids as my 9 yr old had fun, but my 2 yr old had a blast!!
We spent about 4 hours there, but easily could have spent the whole day.
I brought food from home as well as a change of clothes since there are water activities.
I used a jogging stroller to carry all the things, but if you have a wagon of some type that would be cool too!
We purchased popsicles & a few play Mobil toys.
Overall had a great time & will be going again soon!

The funpark is rather a huge playground. No attractions like rollercoasters. Ideal for kids up to 5-6 years, older children could be bored. Coffee quite poor. Water playgrounds funny. Tickets can be bought online only.

There is so much to play, you can stay all day. We went in a really hot summer but that didn't stop the kids from having fun.

Awesome Park for children and adults.
One full day should be enough but better take two days. Also better to avoid Saturday and Sunday because it can get really crouded. Parking is 5€ and entrance 18€ at the time of writing.

Absolutely amazing! The whole family loved this park, it's more of a laid back park than an amusement park, there were no queues, we played I the water, we all had fun! We arrived at 3 and the ticket is a little cheaper and also meant that the crowds had gone. It was Saturday during the holidays and we didn't see too many people. It was perfect. Make sure you take a change of clothes and costumes for the kids!
Melanie Rapuano — Google review
We took our 2.5 year old and expected we’d be done within 2-3 hours. We were wrong. He would’ve gladly stayed longer than the 6 hours we were there. The ideal age range for the park seems to be 4-9, but our (admittedly fearless) toddler found plenty to do. The play structures are huge and there are lots of books and crannies where kids can hide, so there did seem to be a lot of announcements about misplaced children. As others have mentioned, there is a lot of water play available even in April when we were there, and we were glad to have brought extra clothes. Food and parking was inexpensive (comparatively speaking), and the 3€ crepes were a hit for us. There’s also the largest Playmobil selection I’ve ever seen at their store. We had a fabulous time and wish we had one of these closer to home!

Very good place for children! When my family visited there, it was very crowded. Also, we spent 15 mins entering a parking lot. Nevertheless, we enjoyed food and diverse facilities. I recommend buying tickets in advance and bring swimsuits for children.
The justice department Palace of Justice, located in Nuremberg, Germany, was built from 1909 to 1916 and is the location of the appellate court, the regional court, the local court and the public prosecutor's office. The palace is also home to a museum that covers aspects of the history of the war crimes trials held there during World War II.
Fabulous! Simply fabulous! The museum was amazing for historical artifacts and research. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Seeing Courtroom 600 was amazing!

Very nice monument. We visited it on 1.5., so maybe that was the reason of not many people there. You can learn a lot about the trial, but also other things connected to the war crimes. I can recommend for a stop on your route, you can do it in 1 hour.

It's definitely interesting to see the venue of the Nuremberg trials if you're in the city. But you can only see the courtroom and another room with a looot of information, not much more further objects, rooms or prison cells. I would create a 'fast track' circuit so that you don't have to listen to everything in your Audioguide for 2 hours if you're not a history freak but just the basic stuff. The entrance fee of 5 EUR per adult is cheap. But it's a must when in Nuremberg.

Before visiting the courtroom 600, I have visited the documentation centre earlier on the same day. Nobody has ever told us about any discount.
On 9 March, at around 4.20pm, we entered the building and walked over to the empty counter. This lady over the counter looked at us and said “yes?”. We told her that we would like to have 2 tickets. She asked if we’re students and we said no. She told us the amount to pay. After paying, I asked her “if we have visited the documentation centre” and she cut me off immediately by replying “how would I know if you had gone to the documentation centre”. We replied that we have a receipt, and she continued to ask “how would I know?. We were freaking taken aback and confused by her attitude and tone because firstly, we didn’t know that there is a discount, secondly, I merely wanted to understand by asking her about it, thirdly, she cut me off before I could even finish my sentence. Seriously it’s just extra 9 euros. It’s no big deal, you don’t have to be so freaking rude. If you don’t want to refund, it’s fine, I don’t really care because I didn’t even know about the discount in the first place. The information on the paper that is taped to the counter was not clear at all. It merely stated “for 3 euros, you have have a day pass blahblahblah”. We told her that we’re just asking a question and she pointed to the paper and said “you already read it”. ??????? If I can understand the information on the god damn paper or if you would have bothered to open your mouth then of course I will not be asking a question.
I hope the customer service team will look into the attitude of this staff. This is a tourist location for goodness’ sake. I was very kind and excited to enter the courtroom and swear that I truly did not know about any bloody discount. I do not appreciate this attitude but thanks for the refund of 9 euros.

A thought provoking facility with a lot of useful information and exhibits. One can still feel the energy from years prior. This will remain an important part of human history. There ia so much to experience in the museum.

An interesting place to step into- very much would recommend doing the tour, which helped bring everything together. It was perhaps a little brief and left a lot of questions unanswered that are related to the trials, but that did allow it to focus on the moment the courtroom took center stage.
Chris Smith — Google review
The only view of the court room is through an upstairs window, you can't go in currently. Some of the audio isn't guide isn't available in English. As you can't visit the courtroom you're better off not going at the moment, nothing there you can't find on Google/YouTube
The Palace of Justice in Nuremberg was the site of the historic Nuremberg trials, which prosecuted Nazi war criminals. The courtroom where the trials took place is still in use today and is often used for murder cases.
The main reason for coming to Nuremberg. This WWII criminal trial court was an amazing museum such that I spent 3 hours there for listening to the audio phone seif-guided tour inclusive with the entrance ticket.
It gives a full account of why this place was selected as the trial court, why the criminals were charged, the due process, the judges and the prosecutors, the adversaries, why the common law system was selected instead of the continental law, how the conflicts between the different law systems were resolved.
To me it is worthy of spending the half day there for learning a lot that could not be obtained from books or documentaries. Recommended.

Very informative exhibit with detailed coverage of all aspects of the trials. It took a couple of hours with audio guide in English but I was able to learn a great deal. Many exhibits are only in German but the audio guides walk you through the content well.

Very important historically but it won't impress someone who is not already interested in the history of the location.
The entry fee includes an audio guide in German/English and a few other languages. You will need this unless you are German because almost all the text in the exhibition is in German only.
The courtroom 600 is open most days and at certain hours there is a small "show". I did not get the chance to see this but I believe the times are on the website.

Very interesting place to visit during your stay in Nuremberg, worth visiting for sure.
If you’re interested in WW2 history, then plan to stay here for at least 3 hours. The exhibition is very informative and the place itself has a great importance.
The audio guide is included in a ticket price.

Museum experience is mostly a walk round the rooms with an audio tour handset. It can however evoke powerful emotions given the nature of who and what was put on trial at this location. Educational even if it’s presented in a very factual fashion. There were lots of schoolchildren on a seminar there and it seemed very crammed.
Michael Macgillivray — Google review
A small space with lots of information including video of the trials and excerpts from the documents used as evidence. If you listen to every audio station it could easily take 3 or more hours. We were there for ~2 hours and I didn't get through everything. It was extremely busy with little space to sit.
Andrea Jeffery — Google review
An interesting exposition dedicated to the Nuremberg trials. Good description of exhibits. audio guide available in different languages. every 1.5 hours a video presentation of the history in English. the main court room may be closed during your visit, as the courtroom functions as more than just a museum.
Vyacheslav Slyusar — Google review
The museum itself is not so big and mostly has pictures and information. Audio guide was very useful but very long as well. Also, you get tired of standing around one set of pictures while listening to 2 minutes of audio. They don't have a lot of seating areas for people to sit and listen. I felt it was not enough visual more audio information. The best parts were the courtroom video and the video at the very end by the Nuremberg Trial Prosecuting lawyer, Ben Ferencz, about the meaning of it today. He died this April at the age of 103.😔

Must see to learn the extensive history of the war, trials, and international relations. There is also a nice video in courtroom 600. I enjoyed the courtroom, the trial results and indictments, and excerpts from the various documents that were used in the trial. Cheap entry, includes audioguide, which mostly works fine. All writing is in German. There are some moveable seats. Could spend 4-5 hours from listening to everything if you don't read German.

It was definitely an experience to be in the courtroom. I was blessed that I came on a day when it was open. I know sometimes it is closed. The fee is cheap and you get an audio guide for english speakers. There is a lot of history here. I had fun listening to it. However, I do think that if you're not interested in it, you'll get bored fast, especially if you don't read German and require a translator device. There's just soooo much to unpack and listen to. It was a worthwhile experience for me that's all I could say

An impressive museum depicting the events during Nuremberg Trials. Well illustrated with audio in multiple languages for rent. Went into the actual courtroom where the trials were conducted.
dan george — Google review
As an important and meaningful site in human history, it could be better. Hard to imagine that as a world-renowned museum, all the exhibition scripts are in German only. Thankfully the audio guide was provided free in several languages.
The audio guide, on the one hand, was rich. The length of the content may last nearly 3 hours. On the other hand, the explanations were very shallow and not vivid. Several sections were only listing the names of the judges from various countries or the defendants, without discussing any conflicts or controversies during the trial. I don't think it makes sense to know "only" the names of participants but lack understanding of the context. After all, this is a super complicated event that we can learn and interpret from so many angles.
The introduction of Courtroom 600 was even more messed up. It has already been reconstructed and looked completely different during the Nuremberg trail, and there was no schematic photo or illustrations. When you listened to the audio guide, you will find that the chairs and tables he mentioned were not in the place he described, which can be confusing and misleading.
The admission is cheap, only 6€. But I would rather they charge a higher fee and use it to provide a better visiting experience.
Overall, I still recommend that everyone should know what happened, but if you already have some basic knowledge of the Nuremberg trials, you may be disappointed by how little new information you get.

U probably will spend a hour or so there … there isn’t really a lot of stuffs .. just a bunch of walls that explains about the Nuremberg trials and all these are in German . So apparently the Nazis justified the genocide in retaliation (when you go there see audio guide number 104). I was always confused how so many of the populace stayed silent on the genocide. The visual experience in the courtroom 600 is amazing and a must see. It has 5 screenings in a day every 1.5 hours, the experience is only 15 minutes so do check out the timings and plan your visit accordingly. They also mention other crimes against humanity in Ukraine, Congo, have excerpts from speeches from UN Secretary General António Guterres.

The audio 'phones' were great for translation of all the information which was extensive on the third floor. The second floor houses the court room where there is a brilliant projected film overlaying original film onto the courtroom. The downside of this museum was extremely unfriendly welcome at reception. We were a party of students but they were all incredibly well behaved and quiet. It was a shame to feel so told off.

Went to the musem on Sunday, and it was my first time experiencing audio guided museum and it was worth the time (been here for almost 4 hours)!
Now I know the history since the beginning until the end of the trials.
This is an important history to prevent it again in the future of the generations.
The Imperial Castle of Nuremberg is a majestic castle complex from the 11th century that includes a royal palace and gardens, offering breathtaking views of the city. Originally built as a court, it later became infamous for being used by the Third Reich to enact oppressive laws in 1935. However, its most notable historical event was hosting the 'Nuremberg Trials' after World War II.
I had a great time walking around the castle, appreciating the history and contemplating what my home country looked like at the time the castle was built and bustling with activity. I went on a rainy, dreary day but I still had good views of the surrounding area.

Wow, wow, wow. Excellent castle visit to the Imperial Castle.
Located at the top of a hill, overlooking the city of Nuremberg, the Imperial Castle is reached after a serious climb uphill. Not difficult for the fully able ,it is a long rather arduous slog up to the courtyard.

It was amazing to visit this imperial castle of Nuremberg. The constructions were protected with 3 layered thick wall with around 10 ft thickness and 2 stages of different heights. The tunnels, the rooms, the towers, the gardens, the dungeons, the underground pathways designs and the city view points were awesome to see. I felt like I entered in the Game of Thrones series.

Amazing medieval castle that have been kept so well.
This is truly a castle with super strong defense.
Not far from the city center market, easy to walk to. Free to walk into it and there is a good view of the old town.
Even though Nuremberg was 90% destroyed during WWII, the old town was rebuilt and restored according to the pictures they had of the old buildings and structures. So, much of the history is preserved. Otherwise, if they had decided to build everything new, there would not be not much of the past left to see.
Very impressive old town city market with a gorgeous fountain and church, and you can buy fantastic food, flowers, gingerbread cookies….
If you are a WWII history fan, then you have a lot more places to see.
Really worth visiting.

It's incredible how well-preserved the castle is post-World War II. Its grandeur and size are truly breathtaking. From the top, overlooking the town, you understand why it was strategically placed there. The surrounding city walls in Nuremberg are still intact, offering about an hour's walk around them. Navigating the city is convenient; everything is within a 30-minute walk from the center, allowing you to discover hidden gems like bridges, churches, and historic buildings along the way. The castle itself offers free entry and plenty of areas to relax. Exploring its various sections, like the converted horse stables and food storage areas, is best with a knowledgeable local guide to delve into its history. Though it requires a bit of uphill walking, the panoramic view from the top makes it all worthwhile, showcasing the city's landmarks and beauty.

I still can't believe that the castle is still in such good shape after the Second World War. Breathtaking, massive, magnificent. When you go up to the top and look out over the town, you get a sense of why they built the castle where it is. I cannot get over how impressive it is. Also, Nuremberg is still surrounded by the great city walls. It takes about an hour to walk around them. That's the great thing about the city. You can walk anywhere and it never takes more than 30 minutes to get to the other side of the city centre. Best of all, while you are exploring the city on foot, you will find many other gems on your walking adventure. From bridges to churches and other lovely old buildings. Enjoy!🏰✨️

The tour guide knew his stuff.
Great food, nice drinks and a must for people doing the beer hike.
We went there as our second stop and couldn’t be more happy - the pub is located in a super cozy area, paired with an amazing space and great Bavarian food.
I went for some Obatzda as a snack and a dark beer. Both have been really good in taste and my favorite on the whole beer hike.

The staff was nice and helpful too - the all over feeling was relaxed.

Not that she won't love it when she does but she's always been the driver on our all too short stops. We had a great cheese plate here for breakfast one morning and their Dunkles is one fine example of the style. Their Bock is high on my list of to try beers so hope to get back their when it's on again. Great stop on the hiking circuit and of so close to Reichold just up the road.
