🕊️ The fabled Sea of Galilee is where Christians believe Jesus walked on water, calmed the storm, and made Peter and Andrew into “fishers of men.” It's where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. And it's where Jesus fed the masses with a few loaves and fish and gave his Sermon on the Mount.

The Sea of Galilee (Hebrew: יָם כִּנֶּרֶת, Judeo-Aramaic: יַמּא דטבריא, גִּנֵּיסַר, Arabic: بحيرة طبريا), also called Lake Tiberias, Kinneret or Kinnereth,[3] is a freshwater lake in Israel. It is the lowest freshwater lake on Earth and the second-lowest lake in the world (after the Dead Sea, a saltwater lake),[4] at levels between 215 metres (705 ft) and 209 metres (686 ft) below sea level.[5] It is approximately 53 km (33 mi) in circumference, about 21 km (13 mi) long, and 13 km (8.1 mi) wide. Its area is 166.7 km2 (64.4 sq mi) at its fullest, and its maximum depth is approximately 43 metres (141 ft).[6] The lake is fed partly by underground springs but its main source is the Jordan River, which flows through it from north to south and exits the lake at the Degania Dam.

Sea of Galilee aka Lake Tiberias. Is the famous lake where JESUS walked on it and also calmed the storm.
It’s also the lowest fresh water lake on earth.
Peaceful lake indeed and breeze was so cool.

We're a group of pilgrims from the Philippines🇵🇭.
We're happy to have experienced sailing on a wooden boat across the Sea of Galilee. A good and unforgettable experience for all of us. The skipper even taught us some dance steps while sailing. After the boat ride, all of us were given a certificate that we had survived the trip. It's one for the books. It's a good thing the weather cooperated with us, so sailing was a breeze.

The Stalin Museum displays an assortment of photographs, artwork and mementos from the life of the infamous Communist Party leader. However, it does not strive to provide a fair and unbiased account of Stalin's career or actions. Instead, it remains a tribute to the Gori native who played a significant role in world history during the 20th century.
An interesting place to visit if you are into the Soviet era history. Lots of photos, letters and other artefacts. And not to forget Stalin’s train coach.
Our guided tour (in Russian) was very informative and educational, many thanks to the very professional guide.
Allow up to one hour for your visit.
Tours in English language are available too.

Created in Soviet era, this museum is a nice example of Stalin's empire style and Soviet Culture of that time, as well as propaganda. However, we were lucky to get to a tour with local museum guide and I have to admit that the excursion was very informative and interesting. They totally understand that most part of the exhibit was created by the culture of propaganda. They also tried to expand the exhibit with new information related to repressions. But currently the process of renovation of the exhibition is frozen, unfortunately. My personal opinion is that together with the exhibition of Soviet occupation, which is located in the National Museum in Tbilisi, this museum will help you to create relatively fair picture of what were happening during the Soviet's era.

Outside of main bldg is his train car and house where he was born/lived at young age. Inside the main bldg, a museum expo is upstairs. 3-4 large rooms with a lot of photos of him and people around him. Unfortunately, very little in English. You better read Georgian or Russian. He was a handsome young guy. What happened?

Stalin doesn't mean much to me as an Arab, but I found his story and the museum quite interesting. It's important to get a guide though. Also because most descriptions are in Georgian
and Russian, and there are lot's of pictures that require lots of context.

Good place to experience the history. Unfortunately the place is very small for the price you pay. Taking photo is allowed inside whereas taking video is not allowed, well maintained. you can buy tickets from the counter at the ground floor.

It’s a beautiful museum about Stalin. He was living in the next old house until he was 4 years old with his family . it’s a part of the museum. They have many original items from Stalin time. The cost is 15 lari . The tour guide speaks good English. متحف عن ستالين المتحف جميل ويستحق الزيارة

“Stepping into the Stalin Museum in Georgia was like journeying through a time capsule into the complex legacy of one of the most controversial figures in modern history. The museum, located in Gori, meticulously documents Joseph Stalin’s life, from his humble beginnings in the small town to his rise to power as the leader of the Soviet Union.

Not a fan of Stalin but history cannot deny the relevance of the man. Interesting to get a bit of insight and learn a bit more about him. The museum is quite large and includes the house he grew up in, the actual museum with many artifacts and his personal train. Unfortunately the day we were there, there were no English guides and many of the explanations were in either Georgian or Russian so we had to use Google Translate but was worth visiting.

If you’re into history and lucky enough to reach Gori in search of history then this place would give you so much more than you think.
A lot of aspects, history and incidents hidden in just one place. This review would be very short to explain this place.
Just go there and explore. Look into my pictures and videos for a clear idea what you gonna find there.

Very interesting museum featuring Stalin's birthhouse. The train wagon used to take him to Yalta to sign the treaties ending WWII, and the actual museum featuring many items from his days as Soviet ruler. Worth the stop. The beautiful Castle and Fortress is just a 5 minute walk from the museum.

Walter Heijkamp — Google review
Really tough to give this museum 5 stars because it is the worst museum I've ever been to, but that's why I'm still recommending going there. The museum itself should be in a museum. Let me explain:
The building is like a time machine that takes you back to the Soviet Union.
After paying 15 GEL per person, you get to see how the Soviet Union brainwashed people, even glorifying a monster like Stalin. There's a wild mix of photos, paintings and some statues. If you get lucky enough to see an English translation, you'll still have a hard time to understand it because the translation is bad and there's little to no context. So make sure to listen to a podcast about Stalin or read an article about him before you go.
The museum leaves out lots of the important parts of Stalins past. Like him being a gangster who was the mastermind behind a robbery in Tbilisi that left 40 people dead.
I wanted to learn about him killing millions of people in gulags and executions but had to ask because instead I only saw paintings showing him as a hero and all people loving him. The employee pointed me to a very small room downstairs, which barely talked about anything bad he did.
Make sure to also visit Stalins armored train outside. An employee unlocked it and we walked through. He was afraid to fly so he even took the train to the Potsdam conference.
One of the most bizarre and factually incorrect museums I've been to. But it's so bizarre and false, it makes it worth a trip.
Dror H — Google review
The museum is nice for those who can’t google to find the information or search for some images of that times. There is too much unnecessary stuff in the museum. A lot of repetition and boredom. 15 lari per person is a huge overprice. The WC’s are just as horrible, like buy a normal toilets already. Also the museum smelled like a cheap homemade soup and the staff was randomly gossiping or watching some Facebook videos in various areas. This creates zero atmosphere.
Ekaterine (Catherine) — Google review
It is a dark part of our history. But we need to understand and not to forget it so we can learn from the mistakes of the past . It’s amazing that this part of history is preserved and it’s a must visit for everyone. Great museum and well laid out and easy to follow

Just a collection of pictures on the walls. It was interesting to find out some facts, but overall not so involving. The old house was closed for entrance.
Alexandra Me — Google review
If you are looking for an unbiased perspective on Stalin, you won’t find it here. The narrative is primarily pro Stalin and lacks depth. If you are familiar with the history of Stalin, you won’t learn anything new - the guided tour is one hour long all key events in Stalin’s life are covered superficially.
The museum contains various depictions of the key events, copies and originals of the official documents and press, and Stalin’s personal items.

I don't know much about Joseph Stalin before visit museum and after listen & introduction by guide I read more about Stalin...
This museum show only the good side of Stalin start from his parents, home town, start work, how he be part of communist, world war 2 and until his dead. It's interesting as poor kid going to top of Soviet who win world war II but didn't show his bad side of historical...
Leafy area around a mineral spring, with riverside walks & a Ferris wheel accessed via cable car.
Situated close to the city centre along the Borjmula river, the national park has numerous picturesque setups that catch your attention. A small park with fun activities such as rope climbing is present within which didn't function in winter during snowfall (in March) but might be a recreation hub in the summer. With an entrance fee of 5 gel per head, it is quite fun to visit on summer than in winter.

The place is nice and good for easy strolls. Next to the gate there is an old bottling factory with some cool photos inside. The door is open so you can just walk in.
To say that, they currently charge 15 gel one way for the cable car. Totally not worth it. The ride is short and not very scenic.
The pools entrence fee is now 10 gel. Still worth it. Its a lovely walk and the water is warm enough (mind it - those are not real hot springs. The water is about 30-34 Celsius degrees.

A wonderful place to spend a few hours with kids. Many fun/luck games (not included in the entrance fee). For adults you can spend here a hour or two with a relaxing romantic walk in the park and follow the path alongside the river.

The Central Park in Borjomi is huge and has a lot to offer! Starting with the negative, there is an entrance fee of 2 Lari (when you come at night it's for free nobody checks there) and it for sure needs a little makeover as deeper you go into the park. Also in winter it's not glowing like with all the greens during better times of the year! Also there are many stray dogs which can be annoying even though I like dogs!
The list of the positives is in my opinion higher. There are few waterfalls and it is laying in a valley between two high mountains.
You can walk far in and check out thermal baths and drink/fill up the sulfur smelling mineral water at a different place which is supposed to be having healing energy (I personally wasn't a fan of it).
There is a great river going through and the sound of water is possible to hear everywhere. You can also have many possibilities to sit down and enjoy nature.
You can ride a cable car which is quite high prices and there is a big playground for kids which wasn't open when I was visiting.
It is possible to do camping there for free which was my favorite. You for sure check it out it's worth it in my opinion

Beautiful place to visit all year round. The cable car is working too (but it’s outside of the park and costs 5 gel one way). The park itself is really cute place to go. In summer there are attractions for children too. These are not accessible in winter mostly. When trying out the Borjomi stream, do not expect the same thing you get in the bottle :)) this is warm and smells like… mineral water 😄 it’s not for everyone. I haven’t liked it much personally. Yet it’s really worth visiting.

Great place to spend some time in nature in the heart of the city 💚🌱
Perfect for
✔️ hiking and easy walks
✔️ taking a hammock with you and some healthy snacks and drinks for a picnic
✔️ drinking natural mineral water from the springs (take as much as you want, locals normally bring their own bottles)
✔️ taking cable car to enjoy the views of the city and mountains (10 GEL one way for foreigners, 6 GEL for locals)
✔️ sulfur baths
✔️ fun activities for kids such as zip line, rope climbing etc.
Things to consider:
✔️ As you might know there are a lot of stray dogs in Georgia. In the evening they gather in the park.
✔️ The entry is not free, but sometimes it is, especially in the morning, as business normally starts at 11 am in Georgia 😂
Evey — Google review
They charge Gel 5 as entrance for tourists. Nice place to see the greenery all around. Also, just beside is a world war era cable car that takes people from here to the top of the mountain. The park is not recommended to visit during winter season when it’s snow because it will be all slippery and the rides inside will be closed.

I think entrance is 5 gel for non citizens but im not sure, but it’s definitely worth to come and drink water, carry water bottle with yourself and do not close the tap after getting water, sometimes there can be waiting queue to drink water. But it tastes amazing

There is a halal restaurant inside and the park is well maintained and has great facilities.

The cave was roughly 1400 meters and the whole path was filled with beautiful stalagmites, stalactites and stalagnates. At the end of the tour we paid a bit extra for a boat ride which was a great experience.

Place is nice and you will walk so long , only the last 10 minutes I like in the boat ⛵ which will take you from caves to outside (extra charges ) .
Food items not allowed to take inside caves .

The caves are really beautiful and a great way to spend time in nature. The air in the caves is so fresh and pure that I felt really refreshed afterwards! A lot of effort has been put in to lighting the stalactites and stalagmites and there is also music that plays towards the end of the tour, which I found to be really magical. There are many stairs to walk up and down so this would not be a good place to visit for anyone with mobility issues. I found the guide very difficult to hear as she was not wearing a microphone and we had a really large group, so it was a pity that I was unable to learn anything about the caves. Highly recommended visiting this place.

Incredible place, mystical at the same time. Guide gives you pretty comprehensive info about the cave and stalactides.
It's highly recommended to take a boat ride, but take into consideration that if it's or was a little rain you won't be able to use it.

A nice spot to visit, and some advice to all buy tickets to the boat from outside because they don't sell it inside! We had a tour guide who drove us but did not tell us about the tickets thing! So we only went in the cave by foot! Moreover, they start tours with a huge number of people, so you can't hear the tour guide at all because of the VERY long line during walking inside the Cave!
There was a lights show however we also missed it because there were too many people and we weren't at the beginning of the line!
So the management should either make the groups smaller or let people go on their own!!

More than 5 million years old cave. It takes 100 years to build 1CM of mineral deposit. It is a spectacular natural monument renowned for its stunning underground landscapes. One of the popular tourist attraction in Kutaisi. It features a labyrinth of stalactites, stalagmites, curtains, and petrified waterfalls, creating a mesmerizing and otherworldly environment.
We explored various chambers within the cave, each named for its distinct geological formations. The cave’s pathways wind through illuminated sections, highlighting the intricate beauty of the mineral formations. Additionally, an underground river flows through part of the cave, adding to its allure.
Prometheus Cave is not only a geological wonder but also holds cultural significance. Its name is inspired by the mythological figure Prometheus, symbolizing the creative forces of nature. Guided tours provide informative insights into the cave’s formation and folklore, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

Worth traveling here for a day trip. Beautiful caves! Our guide was in a rush though and would have loved to take it a little slower and enjoy the space

This natural well-preserved cave in kutaisi, Georgia is a must-visit for all visitors to Georgia where you get to see stunning formations of stalagmites and stalactites. It is quite long and you will need to walk for around 1.5km long area which has upward and downward steep steps and it will be great if you wear comfortable walking shoes and carry a bottle of water to keep you hydrated. There us an option to walk the cave all through or another option to walk halfway through and balance portion using a boat -ride, but the tickets for both options gave to be taken at the ticket counter itself..

Great and beautiful place to visit. Parking 3 GEL on the spot. Tour took about an hour and bus took as back to the start. Boats were sadly closed on the day of visit. Watch you head in the cave and enjoy the tour and show at the end. Very beautiful! Recommended.

Take a long walk with guild, have many zones for visit, Guild try to explain everything in bilingual English and Russian (some guy don't have even education, there have a sign and Guild said no smoking 🚭 inside cave but he keep smoking and pretend that he doesn't care about it because he is Russian , we told the Guild and she warnings but he didn't even listen and angry back , even finished the tour from cave , he still sit and smoking inside the bus) I really love trekking or hiking for see the meaning of the place where I go why I am there , fpr Stalagmites and stalactites there take time about 100 years to grow for 1 centimeters and have many tourists who don't care and touch it because just want the picture for posting. Very poor cave.

This cave is about 65million years old, but was discovered in the late 1980s. The caves are well maintained and accessible. There’s also a guide that educates the tourists about the caves.
The tourists are taken to the caves in batches.
The walking tour costs around 23GEL(non native tourists)
The boat tour in cave costs an additional 17.50GE(non native tourists).
Though we didn’t take the boat tour, it is recommended to take it.

It's a true geological/speological marvel but why enhancing it artificially with loud music, concrete everywhere? Take the boat tour, it's good as well. It's a must if you are in Georgia and like nature/geology.

Purchasing a ticket inside the service center, my suggestion is to purchase a ticket with boat service. Be strong because there are so many stairs you will go through.. for me the moment I go out of the cave using a boat is really amazing 🤗
In the vibrant city of Yerevan, Armenia, there's a wealth of cultural and historical attractions to explore. One must-visit destination is Matenadaran, also known as the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts. This renowned repository houses an impressive collection of rare manuscripts, parchments, and books.
I loved the place, it showcased the literary history of Armenian with an impressive exhibit available in many languages (but more complete in French and Armenian - For once my language was useful !)
It was an interesting visit and I learned a lot in a short amount of time.
I'm quite surprised by the lack of popularity of the place, even the building is good looking and stylish !

Very Impressive building but inside there are not many things to see... Unless you are specialised in ancient transcripts... Entrance fee is so small so in case you don't have anything else to do is a nice walk...
George Trantas — Google review
It has a great collection of manuscripts on display. However it's a shame that it doesn't let people take photos or videos. And the fit shop section was closed during our visit on a Friday early afternoon and we couldn't buy anything though we wanted to. There were many people working though.
Rhys Travel — Google review
From afar, the Matenadaran looks like a religious building. The big statue that you notice when walking up the street that leads to the building looks like the statue of a saint. But don't let looks deceive you. The Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts is a museum and research institute that is dedicated to the preservation of manuscripts and books written in the Armenian alphabet. The big statue is a depitction of Mesrop Mashtots, the inventor of the Armenian alphabet. If you have the time, the Matenadaran is a short walk from Cascade, one of the biggest attractions of Yerevan. You can easily squeeze a visit on the same day.

Matenadaran is one of the must-see museums in Yerevan. The historical books and manuscripts are truly breathtaking. The displays are laid out perfectly for everyone to follow and understand. Getting a tour guide is always worth every penny; however, I highly recommend to take the time and read the descriptions as they are very informative.

With a world-class collection of awe-inspiring works in an equally awesome building, this is certainly a must-see in Yerevan. The manuscripts are presented without much context however, so the 5000 dram guided tour is worthwhile if you can afford it. Had the collection only been better presented, this could have been a museum of global renown.

Recommended! What history. Some books were 1,000 years older than I am. They let you take pictures with a phone camera, no flash, without buying the photography pass. They have free lockers for backpacks, clean bathrooms, and plenty of places to sit and relax between admiring the books.

An extraordinary place with a great exhibition of ancient books and printings. I was very impressed that the exhibits are commented in 4 languages (Armenian, Russian, English and French).

It is a MUST to visit it.

I was torn on visiting here with some earlier mixed reviews, and even more so on getting a guide, but I’m SO glad I did. I was here easily two hours and the English guide I had, Lillit, was fantastic. Excellent English skills and explanations for all the manuscripts and books she pointed out. The tour was about an hour or maybe more and I enjoyed every minute. The 5000 dram price for the guided tour is so worth it. Yes, there are English translations for everything but you won’t get a true understanding and context of all you see. Also Lillit, loved your bronze eye makeup! Apparently there is an additional cost for taking photos, which I wasn’t aware of, but Lillit me sneak a bunch. I’m so grateful to her and highly recommend her services! This place is a gem for bibliographiles.

Vardzia is an ancient and rugged cave city in Georgia, featuring a 12th-century monastery with frescoes and halls. It was established by Queen Tamar as a holy city, housing up to 2000 monks in rock-hewn dwellings over 13 floors. The site contains more than 400 rooms, including 13 churches and 25 wine cellars.
Outstanding beautiful place. It’s open even now in winter. It might be complicated for people with limited ability to move. There are many stairs and many tiny places to discover. The church in the inside is fascinating. Lovely service! You can get there by marshrutka from Akhaltsikhe for 6gel one way. It leaves from the bus station at 12.20 and then it leaves back to the city from the caves at 15.00 so you have about 1 hour 10 mins to explore the caves, which is sufficient.

Really unique! It's still huge complex of houses in stone. There is small group of monks which still live there.
The walk through caves takes about 1-1,5 hour. There are some steep passages so take good shoes.
Parking is big enough and there are few shops and restaurant where you can wait before you go to Vardzia. There are also free toilets outside.

Amazing. But you need to bring some time to enjoy this place fully. We visited for 2,5h and still had not seen everything.
Also be aware that to explore this site a lot of stair climbing up and down is necessary.
Last but not least you can enjoy an incredible view from up there.

This unique monument is carved out of the side of a mountain and consists of numerous cave dwellings, churches, and tunnels that date back to the 12th century. It was once a significant cultural, political, and religious center of Georgia. The complex includes an underground irrigation system, a royal palace, and a church that has preserved its beautiful frescoes. The scenic beauty of the location and the architectural wonder of the city make it an essential place to visit for anyone interested in history, culture, and adventure.

Vardzia, a remarkable cave monastery complex located in the southern region of Georgia, is a true marvel of history, architecture, and spirituality. This impressive site, carved directly into the steep cliffs of the Erusheti Mountain, offers visitors a fascinating insight into Georgia's rich cultural and religious heritage.
The monastery was constructed during the 12th century and once comprised over 6,000 rooms, including living quarters, chapels, wine cellars, and even a throne room. The intricate network of tunnels, caves, and staircases allowed for efficient defense and protection during times of conflict.
Exploring Vardzia today, one cannot help but be awestruck by the sheer scale and ingenuity of this ancient site. The most notable feature is the Church of the Dormition, adorned with beautiful frescoes and bas-reliefs. Other points of interest include the Bell Tower, the Wine Cellar, and the Pharmacy Cave.
A visit to Vardzia is an unforgettable experience, combining adventure, history, and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The site is easily accessible from nearby towns, with well-maintained trails leading to the monastery complex. Guided tours are highly recommended to fully appreciate the depth of history and significance of this awe-inspiring Georgian treasure.

The Cascade Complex in Yerevan is a must-see destination for those interested in modern and contemporary art. This architectural marvel features a cascading series of stairs, landscaped gardens, fountains, and sculptures. It is also home to an arts center that includes the Swarovski Museum, known as one of the most impressive museums in the region. The complex houses the Cafesjian Museum of Art with its diverse exhibits from the Gerard L. Cafesjians collection of contemporary art.
Lovely airy area with manicured planted area, various modern unusual sculptures from British, Korean,Chinese artist with the cascade steps as a background. Various places to eat and benches to rest. Seems like a popular spot.

Probably the biggest must see attraction in Yerevan and rightfully so.
The complex is absolutely stunning and each level is beautifully crafted or build. The complex is decorated with art installations inside, outside and around the Cascade. You get beautiful views from most of the levels and/or top. You can climb the Cascade by foot or use the inside escalators.
Definitely worth visiting during day and evening/sunset.

Breathtaking views are only one of the many offerings this unique location has. There’s also the playful and unique art pieces in the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. The ascent to the top rewards you with the beautiful vistas of Yerevan. It’s not a difficult climb by any means but it’s also a nice way to stretch your legs. The Soviet architecture and fountains provide a feast for the eyes. I don’t think a visit to Yerevan is complete without a visit here, but that comes from someone who’s only been there once. But if and when I return to this lovely city, I will definitely make a visit to the Cascade.

Another great place worth visiting when in Yerevan. It has 500 plus steps (more to be added according to our tour guide) and there are several levels that feature fountains (closed in winter due to the cold temperature) and statues. Big open area with some tourists and even more locals
Interesting art work and the cascade/waterfall areas can be scaled by walking or via escalators on the sides hidden inside the massive structure
Cafes are somewhat catered to tourists judged by their value
Quite a few well behaved strays, mostly tagged (vaccinated and released), napping near people but there are signs saying not to feed them

One of the main highlights of Yerevan combining soviet architecture and modern art. The structure consists of a long staircase that was intended to connect the center of the city to the hill of the victory park to the north but was never completed. There is an indoor escalator inside and several pieces of art all across the structure and in the park at the lower end. The area is also surrounded by restaurants and cafes and is highly recommended for anyone visiting Yerevan.

Akhaltsikhe (Rabati) Castle, also known as Rabati, is a massive double-walled fortress complex dating back to the 9th century, with most structures built in the 12th century. The fortress dates back to 9th century however it has been renovated too much maybe because you won’t feel the oldness of the fortress. At the crossroads of ancient trade routes between Turkey and Armenia in the south and the Georgian kingdom in the north lies Akhaltsikhe (Rabati) Castle, one of the most beautiful sites of the Samtskhe–Javakheti region. According to the Georgian Chronicles, Lomsia Castle ("Lion Castle") was founded in the 9th century by Guaram Mampali, a prince of the Bagrationi dynasty. In the 11th century the castle was destroyed by warfare, but in the early 12th century the castle was rebuilt by Bashken II Jaqeli, expanded into a real walled city, and the name was also renamed Akhal Tsikhe ("New Castle"). Capital of Samtskhe-Saatabago, sieges by the Mongols, annexed by the Ottoman Empire, Akhaltsikhe endures it all, flourishes and even grows. After the Treaty of Georgievsk (1783) between the Kingdom of Kartli and Tsarist Russia, the possession of Akhaltsikhe was disputed by the Ottomans and the Russians, but it was not until 1828 that the Russians managed to conquer the castle. The state of the castle is so deplorable at the beginning of the 21st century that the Georgian government will carry out a thorough and professional restoration and renovation in 2011-2012. The result: a magnificent citadel with a very varied architecture that is absolutely worth a trip!

The paths are clearly marked and easy to follow. There are signs at each site explaining the history. The MuzeKart works at this site. There are simple toilet facilities and a little cafe on site as well. You can even see Armenia across the way from the ruins.

One of the largest cities of the period, it is said to have a population of 100 thousand people. It is a very beautiful place, fascinating but there are many missing points. We walked for about 3 hours on average. The temperature of the weather makes the trip a little difficult. I wish there were long descriptions in front of the ruins. There is definitely a need to work on environmental cleaning and organization. Entrance is 100 TL, but you can get a museum card. There is also a discount for students for the museum card, which costs 60 TL per person. The fact that we can use it in other places is also a plus point. You are next to the Arpaçay River, which separates the border between Turkey and Armenia. The flags of the countries are waving on both sides, but of course, nothing compares to the nobility of the Turkish flag...

I have visited it in November it wasn’t that cold, it is better to visit with a tour guide otherwise you may not understand what is what, overall I am not disappointed to visit, some rehabilitations are ongoing I am sure it will be much better within few year but for now you will be able to touch the history, you will need a museum card, for nationals you can use your national museum card, for foreigners it should not be more than 25-30Euros and you can use the card for all around the country

İf you're visiting Kars, you should definitely visit Ani. İt's 42 kms away from Kars, you can take a shuttle from the city to go there. A place you must visit!

Wonderful experience to visit this unique historical site. It is quite moving to stand there and think of the grans city that one was and envisage life there. Entry price now 50TL. We took the shuttle from Mix Point Café cost 20TL return. The bus left Ani at 1.30pm. It was very hot and sunny at Ani but so worth it.

Amazing place…isolated ruins floating on a sea of grass. Be prepared to walk ( at your own pace ) quite a distance to cover the whole site. Amazing isolated location looking over a canyon to Armenia.

One of the pretty and amazing ruined Ani, i would really suggest to go by own if possible, because i follow the tour, they only allow us to spent 1hr 15mins which is not enough for me. Generally if you going to see everything, i think minimum you may need to spend 2hrs or more, slowly walk through and see each places. This is amazing place that must visit during your Kars trip. The entrance ticket is 160TL. Visit during winter, the sky is grey, if in summer or any good weather with blue sky, so you can take a nice photo with the landscape too.

Amazing setting, wonderful ruins. One of the most impressive archeological sites I've ever visited, just after Gize, Rome, Petra, Angkor Wat, Bagan, Machu Picchu and Tikal.

Beautiful ruins with an amazing surrounding landscape! Price as of November 2023 is 180 TL per person to enter without a Museum Pass. There is a convenient bus from the centre of Kars that takes you there for 60 TL return. It currently leaves at 9am from next to the Chocolade Boutique. Great day trip!

Amazing ruins in Ani, train travel from Ankara to Kars is really 27 hours at a speed of 60kmh average. Good experience but fortunately the body health can follow it

Worth the visit, if you like history and exploration you’ll need good 3-4 hours maybe 6. You just don’t want to leave. If you don’t care much, you can walk it in 1-2 hours.
More than 4000 years of history here!

Exceptional site - is more like an open air museum rather than ruins. Do consider doing a guided tour as the site is huge and full of many ruins some more some less obvious to the naked eye. Highly recommended.

Established in 1912, the Batumi Botanical Garden boasts a vast collection of subtropical plant species and offers guided tours. The garden is located on the slopes of mountains overlooking the Black Sea and features both local and non-local flora. Visitors are advised to allocate at least 3-4 hours to explore the main attractions, with a full day being ideal. However, there are no food outlets available on-site, so visitors should bring their own provisions for picnics.
Beautiful place. Multiple amazing local and non local plans good organized on the slopes of the mountains above the sea. Better to plan at least 3-4 hours there just to see main spots. I'd recommend to spent whole day there, but bring food with you, there are picnic areas, but food is not for sale on site. If you aren't ready to walk a lot you can use golf cars to reach most popular view points

Of course! Batumi Botanical Garden is located on the Black Sea coast of Georgia and covers over 100 hectares. It is home to thousands of species of plants from all over the world, and is known for its beautiful views of the sea. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

A pretty botanical garden. A nice place to go on a walk. Many places with shade to cool down from the sun, and benches to sit down and rest. Friendly dogs to guide us. Entrance cost 20GEL.

Beautiful botanical garden. Highly recommend to visit. One day is not enough to see everything. There is a shuttle bus number 10. Inside there is only a snack, there is no full-fledged food - coffee, ice cream. inside there is a bus to 7-9 seats, it costs 5 GEL per person. Rides between the extreme entrances.

A very nice place to visit, but the hike is a little hard, but there are golf-carts that operate in the park.
there is a good restaurant at the end of the route, and also a great beach section that you can access.
the botanical garden itself is amazing with many beautiful flowers and trees.

Very beautiful place, be ready to spend there at least two hours. There is no food inside, but you can buy smth near the main entrance or bring food with you and set up a picnic with the nice view
Tatiana Vlasova — Google review
This place is huge. I don't know if it's even possible to walk all the trails in a single day, although the main route is definitely doable. A bit of uphill, so be aware if you have mobility issues. The views of the sea are unparalleled.

Easily accessible with bus number 10 from Batumi center. You can pay with credit card for the bus ticket.
I would recommend coming to the garden in the morning or around midday and bringing some food with you - they’re so many beautiful plant species; different sections of origin and siting areas that you can peacefully spend the whole day there.
The sea panorama views are magnificent.

Nice garden, the trees are beautiful, there is many old trees. The view to Black Sea was amazing. The garden needs more improvement and facilities. The staff should be trained to how deal with tourist people.

Beautiful garden with incredible vegetation. You can observe specimens young and old. The bamboo forest is really something to see. In may many plants blossomed and you could smell their sweet scent. Book a few hours to stroll around the peaceful alleys.

Good fun in this beautiful place, needs to have a better navigation solution, as some of the physical guidance arrows were broken. An app maybe? Some spots along the route were not fully sorted. Overall a very nice place that needs fixing.

Amazing botanic garden. Super huge and beautiful. It takes around 3hours to walk around, so be prepared. It is also pretty humid . The trees are so beautiful, very big and lovely. The view is breathtaking, and there is a lovely beach next to the botanical garden.

It's beautiful, it's big, it's serene! Many picnic locations with a black sea view. Facilities like toilets, gazebos and food and drink stands are all around. It's such a nice place to have a getaway from the big and bustling Batumi. There's a lot of biodiversity, separated in different sections classified in different sections (like the bamboo forest).

We were not lucky with weather, because it was raining heavily, but in general it was very nice experience. You need like 3-4 hours to explore the most interesting parts of the garden. Here is a tip: walk through the entire garden (if you park your car in the entrance closer to BATUMI), because mostly you will walk downhill and take an electric car on the way back. I mean you can walk both ways it’s not that big, but if you are short on time use my tip.
You can also get to seaside when you are in lower part of the garden. It was very beautiful there.
The only thing I didn’t like is that entrance fee, guide, electric cars etc is for full price for foreigners and only half price for Georgian citizens. Not a big fan of those practices. Otherwise all good 👍
Roman Samkharadze — Google review
Very nice place to walk with a entrance is 20 GEL. Nice view of the Batumi and north Black sea coast. Zip line 70 GEL. No food inside the garden, only in entrances. Electric cars can take you to the opposite park side. Many different trees.
Boris Becker — Google review
It's magnificent. In 2023 it costs 20 lari for foreigners, You can take a ride in an electrical car, but we prefer to walk. It's better to come in the morning and spend there the whole day. After that, you can have beach time. Take your snacks in advance, shops there have only beverages and ice cream.

I can't make a good review I just make a review on the price which I find too much especially the camping prices for 50 a night! It's more expensive than being in Hotels in Batumi! Also during the time I was there it wasn't looking as nice due to the winter season! We at the end did some camping next to the botanical garden for free because it's legal in this country to do wild camping.
Also for tourists it is way more expensive. I want to visit it maybe in summer so to give a proper review but for now it's what I have to say.

Batumi's Batumi Boulevard is a charming seaside promenade that runs from the city port to the Dancing Fountains. The wide boulevard is home to cafes, restaurants, family attractions, sculptures, benches and more.
Vibrant green space along the Black Sea featuring musical fountains, exercise paths, cafes & bars.
The Boulevard has a wide paved walking path next to the beach with the gardens and a cycling track behind it. Numerous sculptures, mosaics and fountains including two dancing fountains are also part of the boulevard.
Home to many restaurants, cafes and bars, a mini-zoo and some other structures like a theater. With the growth in tourism, a lot of modern hotels, apartments and other buildings have sprung up along the sea shore and the view from the boulevard is one of modern buildings.
The beach is spotless and not too crowded. It's a stony beach and has pebbles instead of sand. Thankfully, there are many benches along the boulevard. Being oriented to the west, the beach also has great sunset views.
Pavewalk is amazing as it covers many beautiful shops.

Amazing place in the city. It is huge area. Can be called as the heart of the city.
There is a sound and water show at night and unlike other ones, this one runs for hours without break.
The promenade is also beautiful, good for strolling.
Above everything what amazed me beyond limits is the provision of different games like Table Tennis, Pool, etc. This something new I have seen, such facilities free of cost that to in a public place.
Must visit if you are in Batumi.

Restaurants, dancing fountains , some games .
Good for kids . Along the boulevard you can find karaoke restaurants. Some pubs . At night this place got a lot of options. At the morning many restaurants offer breakfast from 10:00 we found only one that was open earlier around 9:00 but wasn’t easy . The boulevard is more then 2km long

Batumi Boulevard is a 7km walking path and a separate bike path. Being here in February you never get the true feeling of this wonderful Boulevard but is was still very nice walk. There many attractions to be found along the boulevard. Statues like the first love, dancing water fountains, misc. rentals like bikes and two wheel scooters. At the far end in town you will find Ali and Nino a unique metal statue that moves so that these two lovers flow through each other. We would definitely recommend using the boulevard as there is so much to see and do. I can only imagine what the warmer months would look like.

A great place to walk, especially in the evening when there is no sizzling sun. the most pleasant experience. The cleanliness of the boulevard is monitored. I would say that this is not even a boulevard, but a park with an embankment. Probably one of the most pleasant and beautiful places on the Black Sea coast in Georgia

You can't visit Batumi without taking in the Boulevard. Apparently it is 4km long and spans the majority of the city. I did go for a dip in the Black Sea, be warned it is pretty cold, I got out pretty quickly. Plenty of places to grab a drink or some snack all along the boulevard.

Beautiful amazingly well kept boulevard with tons of amenities and art, wonderful atmosphere. Gorgeous views and beach all along it. Tons of cool statues and art right on the boulevard or nearby. Lots of restaurants, stands with drinks, souvenir shops. Even ping pong tables, pool tables and a bird zoo with parrots and ducks and swans! Wonderful atmosphere, especially at night, so many people and families out and about. Also feels very safe.

Great view and very nice weather. You need to book an appartment and prepare all your needs from outside the area because every thing is very very expensive. You dont expect a good service also. I think the place needs to be observed much better by the authorities and government.

I think this is one of the overrated places. Maybe is beauty during summer and definitely not in the winter. Whoever wanna visit, please avoid during winter time. It is a bit difficult to get there, hence i join the tour. Is around one hour + away from Trabzon city centre. Spend a day trip also not too bad, unless you have many things to do, then overnight can be an ideal. During winter almost 85% shop is close. But there is theme park and some others things you could do during non winter time. View from the top deck is a bit far, then walking around the lake is pretty. Wanted visit to mosque, but it was close at that time. The cutest things i discover is their cinema beside the lake, however also close during winter. There are many shop, hotel, and restaurant surrounded this lake.

If you're visiting Trabzon, do book a tour to Uzungol Lake. It's magical in winter. If you can picture a Christmas village in your mind, this is exactly that in reality. Mount Nemrut is a well-known mountain peak that boasts an array of stone sculptures near an ancient royal tomb. These impressive statues can be found on two terraces flanking Antiochus' enormous gravel-covered burial mound. Despite suffering damage from earthquakes, the colossal bodies and 2m-high heads of the sculptures remain awe-inspiring, with the Eastern Terrace's thrones and bodies better preserved than those on the Western Terrace.
It is an awesome historical place! You can come up with a car and hiking for 20min. It has stairs and is a tidy road. So easy to hike up. Recommend to come at sunset time! So beautiful. Don’t forget to bring warm clothes! If you bring hot tea or coffee with you, makes it much nicer to watch the sunset.

-be ready for 20-30 min. mountain hiking to the peak
-take some jacket or fleece regardless of the season
-facility(food, drinks) below opens in first week of April, otherwise bring some water or food with you
-east terrace has better view(personal opinion:) )
-try to catch sunset or sunrise
-follow the way of karakus tumulusu, cendere bridge(longer)

Amazing place. A mountain, 2150 metres above the sea level. The tomb of the king Antioch. There are statues of different mythological persons. You will be taken by the tour to the foot of the mountain and then you will have to climb up a bit. It is the great place to see the sunset though you are highly recommended to take warmer clothes and also maybe a bottle of wine to enjoy p. Also people get up at around 4:30 a.m to meet the sun in the morning and again it might ne windy so take a thermos with coffee or tea. This kind of sunrise is definitely different from the one you see at the seaside and it worth watching it!

Wonderful scenic place. The statues are very impressive. Steep climb and slight altitude so take it slow. Gets cold on top so have a jacket. Wish they would clean up and people would not leave their plastic bottles.

Really special to be there for sunrise. Check the weather before planning the experience as it can be quite invigorating in the morning. We stayed roughly 45mn-1h there but would have stayed longer if it weren't for the wind.
As recommended by some people, we contacted Ramo (guide and taxi driver) and would strongly recommend to do so : +905368730534 (super helpful, english speaker and available on whatsapp).
He picked us up from Mardin otogarı in the night, drove us all the way to the top (we only needed to walk 5mn to reach the Eastern terrasse), waited for us for as long as we needed and then dropped us back at the otogarı around 8 in the morning. He also arranged for us to hop on a bus to Göreme at 12.

We went here in the evening to watch sunset. The weather wasn't good, it was very cloudy and even started raining as soon as we reached. It was also the eve of national election so there was literally nobody. Ticket costs TRY100 per head. We came here from Malatya, no need to hike to reach the top. Just park your car and walk 5 mins.

. A must see. Beutiful scenery right at the peak of the mountain
Cozmic Gate — Google review
Great view and nice sunset experience. The statues are wild to look at, although smaller than I expected. We came from Malatya and it really does take 2hr, most of the drive is a lot of tight hill climb on decently paved road. It gets narrow in some portions, but nothing scary really. Once you get close to the top, you have to stop at a building and pay for entrance. Note that it's cash only. They say there's no signal for a card reader, although my phone worked fine. The last bit of drive is unpaved and pretty warn. If you have a little wheezy car like we did, you need to keep your momentum, there are some areas to get a running start if you botch it. It's not a vehicle I would have picked for this task, but it made it up. You can also walk, but it's at least 2km of switch backs and you're at 7700m elevation so it will take you a while.
Michael Leahy — Google review
Amazing place to see the Sunrise and Sunset. We drove from the Malatya to the site with our Ford Camper. Dirt road was difficult for large vehicle.

I was moved to tears when I first saw these incredible ancient statues. The half hour steep walk up was hard on the lungs and the descent was hard on the knees. But worth the massive effort. At the top of this ancient mound are huge statues that are magical. Definitely a highlight in my exciting life. The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. The photos are misleading. I wouldn’t have stayed here if I had seen the room before I paid. I made a mistake not to book another place beforehand and we had to stay here. Don’t get me wrong I am not a fussy person. I stayed in hostels before. I travelled with my backpack for years. As long as the ad is correct and the place is clean I have no problem but this hotel is not a 3 star hotel and it is not worth 600lira.
The towels were stained and the shower was not clean. Entire floor stank.
The breakfast was not good. The plates were dirty and the butter was left under the sun and melted so I didn’t even try.
If you are too desperate and do not want to stay in your car you can go there and spend the night but no way pay 600lira like I did.
There are lots of hotels in the area and they are pretty good for a little bit more money.

The Zeugma Mosaics Museum is a contemporary exhibition center that displays an extensive collection of mosaic art and artifacts dating back to ancient Rome. It presents exceptional mosaics excavated at the Roman site of Belkis-Zeugma, which was mostly submerged by the Birecik Dam. The upper level offers extraordinary views of almost intact floor mosaics found in Roman villas, providing detailed insights into past centuries.
It's a fairly big museum to look at with some nice pieces. I would recommend to buy headphones if you are really interested as there is not too much text inside to read. Overall a nice experience and the room with the gypsy Mosaic was a nice experience. If your in town you might aswell take an hour to come look at this.

Our stop at Gaziantep was specifically for a visit to the Zeugma Mosaic Museum. The museum showcases its vast collection, from the detailed mosaics of the 2nd–3rd century to the more primitive designs of the 5th century, highlighting the surprising decline in artistic skill over just two centuries. The early works resemble fine paintings, rich in detail and depth, while later pieces become more pictographic, reflecting a drastic shift.

Beautiful museum with an amazing collection of artifacts. It's definitely worth a visit. The museum its self is clean, informative and nicely laid out. The audio headset are good but they only cover the main building collections.
M Smith — Google review
65 lira entry without audio guide. It's on the other side of the train station, so you'll have to cross the station underground by foot or hitch a taxi from town. Not the nicest area of Gaziantep surrounding the museum. It takes 1 hour minimum, 2+ if you want to take your time a bit. It's not as huge as all that, but the collection is in a large space and there is more than enough to take in in one go. The famous eyes of the 'gypsy girl,' or Alexander's eyes, are in a dark room.

Amazing collection of artifacts and glimpse of mosaic history from 2AD.
The decoration of mosaics on the floors and walls not only display philosophy of beauty to the public but also give information about the social life at that time.
If you are fascinating with the art of mosaics, don’t miss this museum.

İt was interesting seeing the intertwined history of the Turks and Greeks. Very cool to see the remains and how some of them got stolen by treasure hunters. Definitely not a place for young children because they might damage the display. I'd say it's more for infants who can stay in the stroller or 7yr olds and up who can grasp the information a bit

The Hatay Archeology Museum is a must-visit attraction, showcasing a remarkable collection of local artifacts from ancient times. The museum boasts an extensive display of Roman and Byzantine mosaics, depicting nature and human life across different periods. Its colossal size befits the historical significance of Hatay, making it a unique destination for history enthusiasts. Visitors are captivated by the conceptualized rooms and sections, setting it apart from other Turkish museums.
One of the great museums you can ever visit, huge and divers collection. Can't be missed if you in Antakya visting it is a must. However, it needs minimum two hours so make sure you have enough time when you go there.

Undoubtedly, one of the best antiquity museums that I have visited- its mosaic exhibition is amazing (and rivals Tunis's Bardo museum) and the tutorials and information is easy to follow and understand. It gives a great context to the region from pre-historic to the Ottoman period. A must see!

An impressive museum with a variety of exhibits about the area's very old history. I have been to many museums in Europe and this one could easily be in one of its capitals. The finds from the Hittite period are particularly impressive, as is the quality and massiveness of the mosaics from the Roman period. Worth it!

Very nice museum. It has the biggest Mosaic collection in the world. Plan to spend at least 2.5 to 3 hours. It has a nice cafe to relax inside the museum as you exit. Parking was an issue for us. Besides the amazing mosaics spend some time at th sarcofagus section.

I couldn't imagine the amount of historical and archiological findings in this area. The museum was a trip to the history of the rigion. Amazing collection pf mosaic and marble sculptures. It is a must to see for Hatay visitors.

This is a fairly new museum. You will need more than an hour if you want to see everything. A wealth of information, artifacts, history and culture all in one place. Well presented and it seems as if there is more to come.
Definitely worth the trip.
Note, you can purchase one entry ticket here and also see St. Pierre Church and another museum for a discount fee on the same ticket. Ask when entering. For locals, a museum pass is a great idea. It's much cheaper.

The Temple of Bacchus in Baalbek, Lebanon is a well-preserved and beautifully decorated Roman temple dedicated to the god of wine. It features Corinthian columns, an entablature and a curved stone exterior ceiling adorned with vivid scenes depicting various figures including Mars, Victory, Diana, Tyche, Vulcan, Bacchus and Ceres. The temple is often regarded as one of the most stunning architectural masterpieces in the Roman world alongside its neighboring temple of Jupiter.

The Byblos Citadel, a remarkable 12th-century fortress constructed by Crusaders using limestone and Roman ruins, is a significant historical landmark. This attraction is a MUST-DO for any tourist in Lebanon traveling to Byblos or in transit between Beirut and Tripoli. There is just SO MUCH history and architecture here in this area, that it would be a travesty if this location was not covered. Below is a summary of my experience in this attraction:

The castle is a marvellous piece of history that is sitting in the heart of Byblos.
Parking in a nearby parking lot for a small fee and a short walk and you are at the entrance, 3 types of tickets for Lebanese residents, non residents and foreigners.
Inside the castle and the grounds around it that you can explore with a good walk exploring many parts of it.
Few parts are locked up and you cannot access them but the rest is enough to go around exploring it’s beauty.
The grounds require continuous improvement and development of such a historic and touristic attraction, which is lacking currently or falling behind.

Splendid site to visit. In the 12th century, the Crusaders constructed the castle with the indigenous limestone and the remains of Roman structures resulting in Roman, Persian, Crusader and Phoenician influences. Beautiful panoramic view of surrounding area and Byblos city from the top of the castle. Took about 1.5 hours to walk the site.

The Jeita Grotto is a remarkable natural attraction in Lebanon, featuring two limestone caves with stunning stalactites and illuminated for optimal viewing. Visitors can enjoy a cable car ride, mini train ride, and boat ride through the lower grotto as part of their admission fee. The site also boasts gift shops and a restaurant. The cost to visit is 18,150 Lebanese pounds or roughly USD12/NZD16.50.
Of course this place is one of the top sightseeing destinations in Lebanon. The place is so great. It is not allowed to take the mobile inside the place to avoid photos as the flash light affects the cave badly. The place is so unique Sob7an Allah and for me, it looked like a coral reef. But unfortunately, there was no option at that time for taking the boat trip inside it, aka (lower grotto). There is a train that takes you from the external gate to the cave’s gate.
Mohga Tawfik — Google review
An amazing destination and activity to do with friends and family. There are several things to do but sadly the cable car is out if work right now due to the situation. Still you can enjoy a walk in the upper cave and a quick boat ride in the lower one which are both great experiences. Truly the prettiest cave in Lebanon so far.
Mike Aoun — Google review
Amazing and unforgettable experience ! There are two access points, one is a walk through the grotto and the other is a short electric-motored boat tour in the grotto. It is definitely worth it to see both! There is a little train car that takes you to each point and brings you back. The staff were very helpful and even very happy to give a history talk of the grotto. The only unfortunate is that you cannot take your mobile for photos but I understand that the flash can cause effects and there are safety reasons behind this. True wonder of the world !

Amazing experience. Truly one of the wonders of the world! The staff is nice enough to allow for photos since new phones don’t use flash!

During my first visit to Jeita Grotto in Lebanon, I was captivated by its unique natural beauty. Upon entering the cave, I was transported into a magical world of intricate rock formations. The ceiling adorned with geological landscapes created a truly one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
Navigating through narrow tunnels and reaching spacious chambers, I witnessed shimmering rock formations in their natural hues. The tranquility inside the cave, accompanied by the gentle sounds of water, turned the visit into a soothing and enchanting experience.
I marveled at the internal lakes reflecting the beauty of the surrounding rocks. The diverse topography added an exploratory aspect, allowing me to wander through different angles and discover the beauty of various rock shapes.
In summary, Jeita Grotto was a charming and delightful experience, blending natural beauty with the mystery that surrounds it, making it one of Lebanon's unique and stunning destinations.

Beautiful caves, but slightly spoilt by the number of tourist that refused to follow the no photos, and wear mask instructions. Why do people have to be so self entitled?
Also the cable car to get up the the Upper Grotto is out of service (looks permanent), and the lower grotto is closed (likewise).
They did however have an old '4D' ride in the car park for sale...
And the car park attendant was absolutely lovely, told us that because we are Australians we can just pay how ever much we feel is reasonable.
We paid USD $2....

Stunning place but very cheap the entrance fees is 135.000 LBP which is 1.5$. The entrance fees should be minimum 15$ for such an amazing place. People are enjoying the beauty of Lebanon without paying anything. We visited the upper grotto and the second one by boat. We had so much fun and we went with the train, which my daughter loved it. Recommended place for family
melissa araigy — Google review
I have been there 2 times. The caves are really impressive and beautiful located on a mountain. Especially the second cave offers a boat experience. I give 3 stars because of the rude staff, and because of the price of 9 dollars which in my opinion are too much for what it offers, as it's really touristic and crowded. They don't organise small groups, as a result there are so many people in the cave at the same time, which could be also dangerous for the caves' habitat. You also have to leave your phone or camera outside the caves in lockers.

At the upper grotto we had visit on foot with an exciting adventure over a distance of some 700 m from the cave’s total length of 2200 m, spectacular beauty of the extraordinary amazing limestone formations.
At the lower grotto, we had a short dreamy boat trip over a distance of some 400 m inside the cave. In some places the cave is so low that we had to duck our heads in the boat.
I would highly recommend this place

The outdoor venue is located on the rooftop of the marina yacht club, and overlooks the Zaytouna bay, the mediterranean, and the mountains to the North. The terrace is very large and includes seating areas with couches as well as grass lawns with beanbag chairs. NB. Did not try the food, rating is only for drinks, service and atmosphere.

Definitely gets a 6 stars in terms of location and view. I also loved the concept which is a public park with food stations. Yes these guys have created a park on top of the building and you can sit wherever you want and order food and drinks. They even have comfortable bean bags to lay down on the grass while you enjoy your food. The place is huge! The bar is also beautiful with the lighting and the bottles. What I loved the most is the music which is not loud like a roof top restaurant or lounge. They play beautiful Latin music softlynsonyou can actually have a decent conversation. The choice of food is somewhat limited but the place gets a five stars anyhow. As for the view, judge by yourself from the pictures

One of our best souks in Lebanon. Too bad all the places are closed, however, for the holidays, they are making nice events with a cute decoration (have been the same ever since I remember). Another thing was that I went to check the decoration, however, their light was turned off.

This area is a bit sad as it has all been beautifully restored but the shops are all high end expensive places. The souks should be for everyone, not just the rich. Also, lots of the cafes and restaurants near the clock tower seem to have closed leaving the area a bit lifeless. The constant presence of military personnel in some parts can be a bit intimidating too. The religious buildings and archaeological ruins are interesting.

Once devastated by the Beirut explosion the Beirut souks are coming back to life with street markets and the stores opening up again. They have a gym and some branded stores that are opening up again and hopefully they will be back to normal in the near future. The do have a signature spinneys in the souks that has a lot of imported items.
The vibrant Old City is a maze of narrow, pedestrian-only lanes filled with old synagogues, and ancient houses whose blue doors and windows indicate the locals' Kabbalistic beliefs.

The Al-Jazzar Mosque boasts marble pillars and underground pools while the Or Torah (Tunisian) Synagogue has an array of seven torah arks adorned with mosaics.
The Church of Annunciation is a modernist, Franciscan-run Roman Catholic basilica built in 1969 on the site where many believe the Annunciation took place. It dominates the Old City skyline with its lantern-topped cupola and stands on what many Christians believe to be Mary's home. Visitors can walk inside for free and attend mass by checking schedules within the facilities, making it an ideal destination for those interested in Jesus, Mary, and Joseph history.
Beautiful, amazing, spiritual and peaceful place! As a Catholic being able to visit the place where The annunciation happened to the Virgin Mary was a simply wonderful and religious experience. The church is beautiful, on the exterior you can see images of the Virgin Mary for all different countries, worth to enjoy each one of them.

One of the most famous and touristic place in Nazareth.
An entrance is free but be careful and wear clothes that cover your shoulders and knees at least.
You can find a gallery with frescoes from different countries. Also basilica is open for visiting.
Unfortunately the Museum on the territory was closed.
Good for visit.

In my opinion, one of the most impressive and amazing churches in the world. The visit to the Church of the Annunciation is powerful and interesting, the structure is amazing. The church was established at the site where, according to one tradition, the Annunciation took place. The church has a variety of works of art in different styles from all over the world.

One can light up an electric candle 🕯in this church - I really liked this idea as I believe that it is more friendly to the environment.
Another thing that I liked is an alley with the paintings and mosaics to the church from all over the world 🌎 One can find donations from the South America, India, and my homeland Ukraine 🇺🇦 It feels really good to find things related to your country when you are that far from it, especially when your country is under attack from the terrorist russian state.
If you plan your visit in advance, I also recommend to bring coins and cash for the donations to support the church.

Beautiful place in the center of Nazareth, open untill 5pm and free to visit. Inside you can see very colorful windows and many latin inscriptions. The thing i liked more was the collection of Maria portrait from all over the world. I strongly recommend to visit it and maybe take some pictures at night, because with all the lights on it's amazing.

Basilica of the Annunciation Nazareth, also known as The Catholic Church of the Annunciation, is the most impressive and spectacular site in the city and is considered to be one of the most holy churches for Christianity.
Basilica of the Annunciation an outstanding building in the center of town, is built where it’s believed the house the Virgin Mary was.
On the lower level is the most holy place – Mary’s cave, the cave in which, according to the Catholic-Christian tradition, Mary was visited by Archangel Gabriel and told her she is destined to carry Jesus in her womb.

What a beautiful place to get connected with some of the Jesus, Mary, and Joseph history. This place is a must for every person reaching for a great historical destination in Nazaret. The entrance is free and you can walk inside the churches, you can even attend to mass, just look for schedules inside facilities

What an adoring site. To have that preserve reminds us how grateful we should be to see history which changed the of Billions. Love the mosaic from different parts of the world.

The city around it seems a bit chaotic and dirty, but don't let that discourage you from visiting the basilica itself.
The basilica is rather modern, built in the 60s, with beautiful mosaics and paintings of the Virgin Mary decorating the church's walls. It's a stunning sight to behold, and I was impressed by the attention to detail in the artwork.
But the most interesting thing about the basilica is on the lower floor. Here, there is a preserved cave where Angel Gabriel supposedly told Mary she was going to be pregnant with Jesus. It's one of the few places that keeps the original ruins of the first century, and that's well worth a visit.

There was a mix from different Cristian churches, orthodox, catholic etc and some of them was really strange. The way it was built is also strange. Although the building from outside is not ugly. I hope this is not the best church in Nazareth but our guide show to us only this.

The church was built at where angel Gabriel announced to Virgin Mary that she would be pregnant and give birth to baby Jesus. And the town of Nazareth is where Jesus grew up. Beautiful church. 30% of Nazareth population is Christian.

National park encompassing the substantial & well-preserved ruins of an ancient Roman city.
Spectacular place to visit. Spent a good afternoon exploring in the heat and the shade. It was exciting to see the excavation. I visited the bathhouse and public latrines area. The main street was exciting as well. I didn't climb the hill and focused my time in the town.

We visited two weeks ago. We had national park pass, so it was free. Mostly the place includes remains of the ancient ruins. Amazing architecture. Wondered how they designed the bathroom with hot steam underneath the floor. The structures were similar to caesarea national park. Don't miss the entire view from hill top. Amazing and beautiful during sunset. Need atleast two hours to cover the entire area (on foot). Closing time is 4.30 pm. It has a souvenir shop.

Nice spot to see some ancient history! It was great to be able to see what a city would have looked like. If you do stop in be sure to check out the Egyptian ruins at the top of the hill overlooking the entire city. Lots of remains of ancient ruins like the colosseum, public sanitary, the theater, the city etc, etc. The architecture is amazing and what’s left of the buildings tell an amazing story about its greatness. Extremely good Roman archeological site….for its shape and all well preserved ruins (many mosaics, good theater,….) it is absolutely at the level of Rome forums

Now this place was it! Back in the day!!! Theres a latrine with marble seats for your 🍑 and marble floor for your feet! It's very clear it was a hot spot for trade and for entertainment!!! Unlike the town on the hill right next to it....the short hike up is completely worth the view! Go here if in Israel!

Stunning remains of over 20 layers of civilization. Most notable are the recent Roman ruins. One can picture chariots heading up and down the main street.
The 7000 seat theater is mostly standing and the original public bathrooms are nearby, what a gas!
There is an entrance plaza, a large bathhouse, streets, shops, a bridge, a ritual compound and more.
An earthquake in 749 shook the Roman temple and the huge columns fell. They still lay there and it's hard to imagine that this is all real and not replicas.
Amazing experience.

We attended the evening sound and light tour which includes a ten minute sound and light and an hour guide led tour of many of the sites. The park is well lit in most parts.
The sound and light was ok, projected onto the walls of the theatre sometimes the graphics were not the most clear.
The tour is a bit intensive and at some point we left to just enjoy the spectacle without the guide.
There were many children in attendance but I think their attention wanted as the tour progressed
Small children might be frightened by loud music and sounds during the light show.

One of the most beautiful places to see antient ruins in Israel. Not recommended in the summer very hot if you want to enjoy better to come when its colder or at eight when they open. Lots of history. I recommend reading up on the history before coming here.
The Odeon was built in the 2nd century CE as an intimate amphitheater offering 500 seats. The ruins are kept in good condition and offer a glimpse into Roman life and culture.
Excellently preserves Roman theatre. Entry cost is cheap and includes the very interesting Folk Museum. Climb to the top of the theatre and get a feeling of what it must have been like to see a play almost 2,000 years ago. It’s also very lively with families

This is like a compact version of the big Roman Theater next to it. But, it seems to be in better condition (restored?) and feels more welcoming. There are some funky acoustics if you stand at the center of the arena.

The Odeon Theater or the Winter Theater is a small Roman amphitheater located in the center of the Jordanian capital, Amman, where the Great Roman Amphitheater is also located. It was built in the second century AD, before the construction of the Great Amphitheater, to accommodate about 500 spectators.
The Odeon Theater was mainly used for musical performances. Archaeologists believe it may have been roofed with a wooden roof or temporary tent to protect the audience and performers from the weather. It is believed that the severe earthquake that struck the city of Amman and the regions of the Levant in 1927 was the main reason for the demolition of a large part of it, especially its high facade.
The amphitheater and the surrounding area in the Hashemite Square have recently been restored, where concerts and poetry seminars are held today.

Right next to the Roman theatre and a great deal smaller! Thought it wasn’t included in the Jordan Pass but the guard asked and we said we had it and got in for free.
It’s a lot quieter than the Roman theatre - come here if you are avoiding the ruckus and keen on admiring the ancient Roman architecture.

The Odeon is a small 500-seat theatre. Not to be confused with the large Roman Theatre that stands right next to it, on the southern side of the Hashemite Plaza, while the Odeon stands on the east side of the Plaza. Very nice, tidy and clean old ruins, that is kept in good shape.

A smaller version of the Roman Theatre that’s right next to it. If you’re scared of heights or stairs, this is the perfect theatre for you to visit as it’s not too high not does it have many stairs.
The Amman Citadel Hill is an important historical landmark in Jordan that is home to some of the oldest and most prominent structures in the city. The hill is also home to several notable buildings, including the Umayyad palace, the Byzantine Church, The National Archaeological Museum, and the temples of Hercules.
Amazing 🤩 site to see!!!! The nice walk and gorgeous 360 degree view of the city makes it alone with the visit. But on top of that you get to see incredible ancient ruins. All for just three JD too! I recommend coming here at sunset so you get the view of everything in the day and the night. Beautiful at both times. I highly recommend you visit this spot. Enjoy

This is a nice tourist place in the heart of Amman, and it can be easily accessed within 15 mins if you are around the city.
You can spend 2-4 hours wandering around the ancient ruins and visiting the museum, the view is spectacular as you have 360 degrees over the old city.
There’s a nice restaurant there serving authentic food and drinks, and there’s also a convenience store at the entrance selling snacks, drinks and souvenirs.
Public restrooms are just next the store.
Buses and car parking is available in front of the place free of charge.
There are guided tours if you wish to know everything about the place in main languages.

The citadel is not big, it took us around an hour to see all the ruins and there is a small museum at the top. Located on the hill it offers great vistas of Amman. From here you can easily spot the Roman amphitheater below and one of the world's longest flags.
We wisited during noon and there wasn't much shade on the site so wear a hat, bring water with you and protect your skin.
At the entrance you can find a small cafe/shop with refreshments and a toilet nearby.

One of the many tourist sites you must see when visiting Amman. Historical remnants of the Roman empire are visible, and the museum also tells the tales. The view of the city and the coliseum across the street is also an addition to the many photographic locations around. Avoid the taxis
outside, they will hustle big time. If you can, take an Uber. It would be good if wifi is available at the location.

The Amman Citadel is an important archeological site dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages. Amman was an important city during the Roman and Byzantine Empire. It's definitely a MUST place to visit and explore. Stunning site with layers of history to explore and a fantastic view of the city of Amman.
Highly recommended to visit in the late afternoon and stay for the glorious view of the sunset. Admire the city color changes and become golden. Also, I love hearing the call to prayer echos here on top.

It was windy when I went. The view of the city was beautiful. It helped that I had a guide to explain the history and significance to everything. You can climb on and walk through everything. There is also a small museum at the top. I learned quite a bit. I'm curious how the people destroyed the statutes at any of the locations a long time ago, though. Nobody will talk about it, but I want to know if there was like a celebration or anger. It would be nice to place myself back in time. It's very fascinating.

And if you have Jordan Pass, the entry is free (included), of course. Enjoy your time.

Visited these archaeological remains while in Amman, located on top of one of the city’s seven hills. The queue for buying tickets was short and the site wasn’t crowded.
The Umayyad Palace is well-preserved but the Temple of Hercules comprises only two complete columns. Other structures are either in very poor condition or are not excavated. Unfortunately the site is not policed, with tourists allowed to climb over the ruins, further escalating their decay. I personally think that this is a very poor decision.
The views across the city are good, enhancing the appeal of this place. Plus it’s only 2JD to enter. There is also a place for refreshments at the entrance and toilets.
There are far better archaeological sites to visit nearby, but this is OK to spend an hour if you’re in Amman.

An amazing historic place to visit in Amman. You will definitely enjoy it. A breathtaking view of the capital. It is quite hot in this time of year so refresh yourself with lots of water. The entrance fee is 3 JOD. If you prefer, you can easily arrange the private tour in the complex. Everything started here. It's a beautiful place, but there are a lot of kids who will harass you, especially if you're a woman and Asian. I visited this place with my friend, and surprisingly, they charged an entrance fee even though they don't treat it as a heritage site. I'm not sure if locals have to pay, but it seems they don't. I don't complain whether the locals pay for it or not, but since they just let the kids play in this place, it makes me feel like this place is more abandoned and ruined. The kids were climbing the columns and shouting 'Ni hao!' at us, which is very racist. We're not even from China. They kept asking us to take a selfie, and when we refused, they would immediately start cursing and follow us around in a group during our visit. It was the most frustrating and threatening experience of my life. Since they charged an entrance fee, I expected a better experience. Besides dealing with the rude kids, they should at least respect this place as a heritage site.

The Bahá'í Gardens in Haifa, Israel, consist of a series of terraces descending 19 steep steps to a domed shrine that is the final resting place for the prophet-herald of the Baha faith. The gardens offer breathtaking views from the platform at the top and are well worth a visit even if you don't have any interest in Bahai culture or religion. Tours are available in both Hebrew and English and are first come, first served.

First of all the entrance is free, which is a great plus for a place like this. Very nice view and beautiful gardens. Unfortunately isn't possible to visit the gardens on your own, but you have to wait for the guided tour (available in Jewish, Arab, English and Russian). A big no from my point of view is that you must stick to the high pace of the guides, so you have a very little time to enjoy the place and take some pictures, furthermore, the guide does not wait the group for the explanations, so if you waste one minute to take a photo, you'll miss the explanations about the place, the religion, etc.

The Gardens are beautiful. First the top level is free to all great views of the Haifa bay and the Baha’i gardens and shrine from the top. However if you really want to experience the gardens then get tickets in advance. If you are in Haifa it should be a must. The tour is about 60 minutes. It is 750 steps down. You will have a guided tour in English if you want and can stop at about 4 levels. You cannot walk back up the steps. You can take a bus 136 -7 stops (I think you need a Rav Kav. Like a metro card to board the bus) to return you back to the top, or walk through the German Colony Blvd and get a taxi. It a bit of a walk but there are cafes along the way back to the Carmel mountain

Caesarea National Park features the remains of a port city built by King Herod, including ancient Roman ruins such as an aqueduct and amphitheater. It also boasts upmarket harbor shops and dining options, making it a great destination for history enthusiasts and those interested in archeology. Visitors can swim in the sea at nearby HaBonim Beach, which is less crowded on weekdays.

Great place for being immersed in history while having good restaurants all around. I was shocked that they closed at 5pm the entry to the ancient remains.. I mean where do the directors of the place leave? It is Israel in august, you need to offer an early evening tour as it is too hot during the day!!! We had a full day with friends, restaurant, ice cream and a nice walk, plus we went to the beautiful little beach just after the beach bar and had a great swim (but remember to bring shoes as it is very rocky). It would have been 5 stars if it wasn’t for the place closing at 5pm!

One of the most important national parks in Israel, very interesting and well organized. I was there on a Monday and I parked for free right at the main entrance to the park.
If you intend to visit several national parks, I recommend you to buy the Israel Pass for 3 sites (78NIS) or 6 sites (110NIS).
You must reserve at least 2-3 hours so that you can admire all these special places in no rush.

Beautiful and rich in preserved history. If you like history, archeology and having a glimpse into how people in the past lived, these Roman ruins will give you a great view. It is worth the stop to see. This is an impressive Roman era ruin. It is vast and beautiful because it was a right next to the Mediterranean Sea. I enjoyed seeing all the first century arches, the ruins of Herod’s palace and bathhouse, the hippodrome, and the amphitheater. Going here is like walking into history. Paul and Peter from the Bible spent significant time in this place. Even if you are not a history buff, it is easy to imagine people living here and their way of live. It's also a home of amazing restaurants and craft galleries. A must visit.

It's all the ruins of what once was great port city. Most of the structures are gone, what's left are pieces of such structures, many are mounted on metal posts.
I had visited other ruins of old towns/cities in my global travel. This one gave a distinct disappointment as there seems to be no signs of archaeologic activity on site.
What's notably left here are:
1. the Roman Amphitheater, which has been dressed up and used for concerts: really? in such a fragile environment???
2. the Hippodrome, a miniature version of Roman's Palatine.
3. portions of the citadel and tower.
I'm not sure the 39NIS (10.26USD) is justified.

Went for a day trip here. Takes about 2 hours to explore it all. Can spend more time to relax by the port in restaurants within the park. Ruins from the Roman times..the view is enhanced by the sea besides. Two beaches nearby to add to the trip. Worth visiting for sure when in Israel or when a short one day vacation is what you are looking for.

If you love history, you're gonna love this archeological park! The Roman amphitheater, the Hippodrome, the Aqueduc and the ruins of Herode's Palace, built for Roman Emperor Augustus, are really something to see. You can even see Cleopatra's Pool ;-)

The history is amazing. How civilizations built this port city long ago shows the ingenuity of the time. A sobering fact is of how this was only accomplished by the sacrifice of slaves.
The Mediterranean is a beautiful sea and you can at least do your toes here.
The hippodrome was the most fascinating to me as I love horses. All I could think about was galloping around that track. On a horse of course.
What an experience.
