How long is the drive from Oslo to Bergen?
The direct drive from Oslo to Bergen is 286 mi (460 km), and should have a drive time of 7 hrs 40 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Oslo to Bergen, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like Bærums Verk and Hadeland Glassverk, or the ever-popular Henie Onstad Art Center.
The top stops along the way from Oslo to Bergen (with short detours) are Flåmsbana, Trolltunga, and Vøringsfossen. Other popular stops include FjordSafari - Flam Guide Service AS, Steinsdalsfossen Parking, and Drammen Spiral.
The Henie Onstad Art Center is a striking building that houses modern European art collections. It offers a range of exhibitions with diverse and interesting subjects, including the Norwegian documentary photography show and Yayoi Kusama's Hymn of Life, which features mirrors and light to create an immersive experience. The art center also boasts a great cafe serving delicious food, making it an ideal place to reflect on the exhibits.
A good variety of exhibitions and art! I enjoyed it!

Our visit to the museum was incredibly fortunate. When we arrived, there were very few people around. Even more amazingly, they still had Yayoi Kusama's work on display, particularly the "Infinity Mirror Room," where we found ourselves alone with the mesmerizing lights and reflections.
Typically, museums limit visitors to 15 minutes per room, and there are usually 2-4 more visitors in each space. However, on this occasion, it felt like a private viewing, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the art. It was an unforgettable and privileged experience.

Henie Onstad Art Center is a small museum that is a tiny gem. It is located at Høvik, outskirts of Oslo and easily accessible by car and public transport. The art center houses a permanent collection and frequent temporary exhibits. On recent visits, we enjoyed the wonderful woven sculptures of the Polish artist Magdalena Abakonwicz. The sculptures known as Abakans are soft, organic, large and expressive works in fibre (e.g. hemp, sisal, horsehair, etc) and hung from the ceiling. While the permanent exhibit "Hymn of life" is by Yayoi Kusame, the Japanese artist. The pumpkin is one of her important sculptures and the infinity room with Hymn of Life is a 50 square meter installation. Well curated and nicely displayed art makes this a delightful stop for art lovers.

I was fascinated by my visit here! Highly recommended!

Easily accessible from Oslo (20ish minutes bus ride), and definitely worth a trip! Beautiful location, with a vast sculpture park along the sea coast. The building itself is an architectural gem, and the collection will not disappoint either. Probably the best museum / gallery experience in (near) Oslo.

Must see art museum when you are in Oslo. They had an exhibition with Niki de Saint Phalle (1930-2002), contemporary of Andy Warhol but far more interesting 🪸

Great exibition with Yayoi Kusama and her Hymn of Life. The usage of mirrors and light creates a magnificent atmosphere where you floats in eternity.
The art center has many other exhibitions that changes through the years. Well worth a visit.

Sublime. Stunning inside and out. 20 minutes by bud from Oslo center. Go! You won’t regret it.

Wonderfull! Very friendly for disabled people – elevators everywhere and you can borrow light chair to sit everywhere. Workers are really nice and helpful!

I think this gallery is Norway’s Louisiana. Beautiful location, very easy to get to from city centre. The food in the cafe is delicious and a great place to reflect on what you’ve just seen. I saw the Norwegian documentary photography show and it was very good with lots of interesting subjects covered.
Bærums Verk is a village in Bærum in Viken, Norway, with a population of about 8000. It is located on both sides of the river Lomma. Wikipedia.

Hadeland Glassverk
Glass blower
Tours
Shopping village for handcrafted glassware & china with a glassworks & regular glass blowing demos.
Hadeland Glassverk (Glassworks) is the oldest industrial company in Norway. It has been operating continuously since 1762, i.e. since its establishment.
It started here with bottles, bottles and pharmacy jars... Then European products/designs were imitated. And today (even though part of the production takes place abroad) literally everything that can be made from glass is produced.
There is still a thriving development zone on the premises of the old factory. The company gives visiting artists the opportunity to create their own products, which creates a constantly thriving innovative environment.
Joanna Firlej — Google review
I really enjoyed this Glassverk. You can watch the glass blowers creating multiple unique and interesting pieces, both large and small, and of different colors. For a fee you can blow your own drinking glass/vase (they do most of the artistry...you just blow), which is ready for you to pick up and keep after a 90 minutes slow cooling process. While waiting you can watch the glassblowers at work and browse the grounds where they have several interesting stores, a nice restaurant and a very small farm animal "zoo".
Buck Wicklund — Google review
get a klugvase :) if you plan to blow glass give it time to temper, a couple hours
Ånni A — Google review
A fun place to see a lot of different items. There were friendly farm animals to see. Beautiful glass pieces.
Karen Lowe — Google review
Hadeland Glassverk is one of few factories in the world that still maintain hand-made production. This means that every piece is unique. You can blow your own glass and realise how difficult it is to make it.
Elena Busch — Google review
If you like glasswork then you will probably like this a lot. We anticipated a little more abstract artistry and less factory-style manufacture, but that's on us, and if you want to get hold of some handmade glassware in a very pleasant setting while also getting the chance to watch glass being blown, coloured, and shaped into vases, light fittings, glasses, etc. then it's well worth a look.

Very nice people. We prayed and ate and shared food in the shade. Beautiful bee shop. Be sure to go to the bee house. Good parking. Amazing ocean view. Alhamdulilah. We had good time remembering and seeing the signs of Allah. They also had animal farm of sheep and goats and pony ride. Take your kids there.
Quran Peace — Google review
This is a great place for the family where you can pet the animals, ride a horse, visit a Monet museum, walk into a Monet painting and buy specialty gifts at the honey store. I didn't have time to go to the museum or blow my own glass but I will be back to try this.
I arrived at 1400 on a Monday (first day of the holidays) and there were only a few parking places left, but there were parking attendants to help out 🙂🙌
Perhaps go early to make sure you get a spot, and give yourself a couple of hours to walk around and eat some ice cream.

It is also a cozy place to visit if you love to buy nice stuff to your kitchen then youll find it mostly here 🥰
Ann Vedefors — Google review
Cool place! They have different glass products (decorations and plates and cups and such) which are unique and nice looking. Also, at the time it had a nice Christmas vibe. Enjoyed a nice waffle and warm atmosphere.
Zvonimir Grubišić — Google review
It is really good place, they have space for people who wanna see the process of glass making. And the other places in that area are really good as well. Really recommended to go with family in here, as my kids really amazed by it.
Old factory with machinery on display, plus an outdoor sculpture exhibit & an art gallery.
Beautiful and interesting place
We brought the kids and wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as we did. There's a nice ropes course playground and the kids map had engaging questions that kept the kids interested in checking out the statues.
Tip for parents: The kids are not allowed to climb on the statues. Keep the climbing on the playground.
Marea Toresen — Google review
Very nice place to visit! It is generally colder than in Oslo, so keep that in mind. There is a small cafe and a large seating area (indoors and outdoors). Keep in mind that the cafe often has long queues - the waffles are made on-demand and fresh. Bringing your own food and drinks seems to be no problem. The pieces all have small QR codes on them, with extra details. Many artists from different countries have contributed to the musem. There are many benches outside along the route, with pretty photo opportunities and views to enjoy.
Apart from modern art, you can see the old paper factory, and machines that used to turn wood into pulp for paper making. These are very old and rusty, so the noises they produce are spooky to say the least. A great place to have some Hallowe'en events!
There are a few different parking places around the 2 entrances into the park/museum area, so keep in mind when meeting up with others. Parking is 85 NOK per day, and there is plenty of charging available for electric cars.
Worth visiting, especially in the autumn season!

Really beautiful area, with some interesting sculptures and art pieces.
Even if you're not interested in art, it's still a great place to visit, just to take in the surroundings.
The new building by BIG is a true artpiece on its own, an the view from the toilets is worth the visit
Jonas Chr. Keller Primdahl — Google review
The park and the industrial part is cool but the sculptures are garbage. Contemporary art simply shouldn’t be called art. I wouldn’t recommend it for families with kids. Keep our kids sane.
The history of the manufacturer is very interesting and well maintained.
IMO it is also overpriced.
Daniel Orban — Google review
A large and impressive contemporary art museum. Sculptures surrounding the galleries, industrial museums and many more to see. Yet, if you don't have a car, it is very difficult to visit there from the city center of Oslo. There is only one direct bus which goes at 9 and comes back at 3, otherwise you have to go there by two buses which will take you 2,5 hours. And the total cost for 2 people to go there and coming back from will coast you around 1250 kroners. I guess the government does not care enough about the ones who don't have cars :-)

Terrific views, nature, memorable sculptures and outdoor art pieces - especially the eye with waterfalls - it's otherworldly!
Went there with my family and the main attractions for us were the twisted bridge-gallery and most of all the old paper factory inside the dam with all the machinery. There's indeed a lot of it and it really helps to tell the story of the paper factory.
The cafe amongst other things sports tasty waffles with a great selection of toppings.
Zoomer — Google review
Even though some of the sculptures are total rubbish (like most modern art), there is enough cool things here understandable to us humans that makes it worth a visit. Lovely nature surrounding it makes it all that better.

A bit pricy if you plan to bring a family with you. For 2 men plus parking I paid 440NOK. Otherwise recommend to visit on a nice sunny day!

Perfect place to enjoy the unity of nature and art. Excellent works by many renowned artists, and river that flows through create a fantastic experience.

We got this museum recommended by a local and decided to visit it after seeing some pictures of the Twist. No pictures can do justice to the building; you really have to see it for yourself. It was very impressive to see it from both sides of the shore and was very special to walk in!
The art pieces in the Twist (and some outside) are works by Tony Cragg, a British sculptor who has received multiple awards. His works on display at the Kristefos Museum are very beautiful and thought-provoking, for those who appreciate art with a twist (no pun intended).
On the terrain surrounding the Twist there are art pieces, as well as in the old factory buildings. There is a variety of styles and media, with some amazing pieces as well. A few of the buildings show old machinery that was used to process wood, powered by the river that runs through the site.
Finally, the river itself is the third location with art placed in and around it. Which was very well done and very interesting.
The site is large and you can easily spend hours there. There is a little coffee corner/sandwich place with places to sit. If it rains, there are umbrellas on site for visitors to use. There is a large fountain on site where we saw children in bathing suits playing in the water, but I’m not sure it’s meant for this.
We highly recommend this museum to anyone who appreciates modern art!
Caroline Saher — Google review
We're fans of modern art - sculptures especially - and we're fans of architecture, and if you like those things too then this is a wonderful place to visit. Check the opening times as you'll want to make sure you can walk through The Twist. We were lucky in that we were on a cruise excursion and had the bridge/gallery opened up especially for us. Lovely location.

An art inspired location! Quite serene, plenty of options to walk around, children play area, a decent cafe, each art installation with a story to think and then we had booked the Hadeland Glassverk trip from there! Both locations worth every NOK you spent! Very punctual timings on the bus booked , neat, very professional staff and overall an amazing experience!

Very nice park. Lovely nature and a lot of art to see and admire. Easy to visit with young children. Available parking space. You can also buy drinks and food and spend time with friends or family after seeing the museum and installations. Had a great time during our visit!

Very interesting combination of historic industry, modern art and great surroundings. Well worth it except for one thing. On a hot and sunny day the price of water is 48 NOK for a bottle? Why take such advantage of your visitors?
Drammen Spiral, also known as Spiralen, is a unique helix-shaped tunnel located in the hills just 2 kilometers from the city center. This popular attraction offers access to the surrounding hills and is a favorite spot for hikers and cross-country skiers in winter. The 1,650-meter long tunnel features six rising circles, resembling a multi-story parking lot, and leads to a summit 180 meters above the town on Skansen Ridge.
Superb, we'll worth a visit in Drammen. Great views and lot of nice foot paths. Stop by at the museum in weekends for a sweet treat and coffee, or visit Klopptjern for a swim.

Perfect place for nature lovers.
Drammen Spiral is an unusual helix-shaped tunnel.
Opened for traffic in 1961, the tunnel is 1,650 mt long and in the shape of a helix, with six rising circles, in the same style as a multi-storey parking lot. Each rotation of the helix rises 22 m, with a diameter of 70 m. The tunnel emerges at a summit 180 m above the town on Skansen Ridge, where there are parking facilities and a cafe.

Amazing view! Around -30 degrees at the top on the day we were there! Good stop off on way to airport.

I was a bit anxious driving throughout the tunnel but everything seems to be very well organized. The view is gorgeous! We were during the winter time. The place is just perfect for a picnic!
Ar the restaurant we order a pizza for kids - expensive and not so great. I recommend some snacks from home.

There is a fancy lited spiral road that leads to the top of Spiralen. The panoramic view from the summit is captivating, showcasing Drammen's cityscape, the Drammenselva River, and the surrounding forest. Highly recommended place for tourists and families, especially during the summer months.

İt was a great experience that İ was not expecting this type of a road. Just if you have a problem with your stomach be careful that you have to turn for 1,6 km. At the end of the road you will reach to great view

Great experience, amazing view, a lot of benches and tables to have a lunch or coffee. There also a restaurant on top.
Jelena — Google review
A very out of the ordinary spiral tunnel. There's nothing exceptional to see inside, however the sheer fact that you're climbing up the road going spirally up is interesting indeed. At the end of your journey there are quite the views down from the mountain.

Spiralen is an Interesting spiral tunnel road that leads to the top of the mountain in Drammen. Amazing view of Drammensdalen from the top. There is a road toll fee which is paid as a parking fee. The tunnel is not to be used by pedestrians. You have to be inside a vehicle to pass through the tunnel. There is a cafe/restaurant there on the top
Kjøsterudjuvet, located within walking distance from Drammen center, offers a beautiful 10,000-year-old ravine with stone walls towering over 60 meters high. The area features a rugged countryside with thundering waterfalls and gorges, making it a must-visit destination in Drammen. Visitors can enjoy a relaxed walk through the canyon, but should be cautious of falling rocks and avoid entering during heavy rain or when there is excessive water in the stream.
Awsome place, I propose to go through canion. It's in unforgettable view

Visited the canyon on a Sunday. Had no problem with unpaid parking
* big parking spot under the cable car station
* about 8 spaces next to the gate
* 16 spaces on the next road in line and on the sides of the road
From the main road there is an about 800m walk up to the trail beginning (shutter road).
When I was visiting there was a warning about entering the canyon (rocks falling spontaneously). There is a trail leading on the 'left' (western) side of the canyon within 50-100m of the canyon edge so you can peak in occasionally, but half the time trees obstruct clear view. Trail is short (1,5 km) and is ran quite naturally (no steps or man-made modifications).
The trail running through the canyon is not very challenging for a fit person but be sure to take well impregnated shoes or water shoes. Even during dry time there are narrow points where you are not able to go through without stepping in a puddle. I personally discourage going there until the canyon is deemed safe again. I could see fresh massive piles of rock fall after a solid week of great sunny weather.
At the top of the trail there is a quiet, clear lake where I believe you can swim. Lifebuoy x2 available and a pad for diving
Karol Boratynski — Google review
Pretty fun and easy walk, but the cherry on top is definitely a lake at the end of the hike.
Be sure you have good hiking shoes especially if there is more water, because it will be really slippery with runners or trainers.
You can go back by the forest straightly to the parking spot.

The whole way is very rocky and I recommend good shoes. In two places you have to climb a ladder. This trail is good for physical fit adults and children.

Nice climb through the Kjøsterudjuvet. Good for kids, but under close supervision of an adult (1:1). At least one hour climbing, some steep bits with ropes and ladders. Don’t enter in heavy rain or when there is a lot of water in the stream. Mostly impossible to exit the canyon halfway.

Awesome little mini adventure. Great little trip to get some experience. If you choose to walk the trails above the crovas, be very careful not to get to close to the edge. It's a long way down. You can hike up the gorge and reach the lake further up. Take aprx 40 min

A steep hike up, but worth it as you can take a swim in the lake before heading back down. Very cool gorge.

Reasonable prices, very warm service across the lifts, restaurant, ski shop and Norefjellstua apartments). Great time to go in the second week of January as it was very quiet! Mostly sunny skies the four days we were there, and only got windy on the final day. Gentle slopes though getting from one lift to another took some planning. Our doggo loved the apartment too!

Close to oslo. Nice range of piste's. As someone told me "the longest run from top to bottom in norway" if that is fact I am not sure but my legs seemed to agree. The Afterski places are well spread out making it a bit difficult to carry on the party. There is a bus service to take you back to the spa hotel, but you can be waiting a while for it...
Woodland zoo with bears, wolves & moose in outdoor enclosures, plus full-sized model dinosaurs.
What a wonderful place! I had the best time visiting. The keepers are all so friendly and knowledgeable. The animals are kept really well and treated with dignity and love. The atmosphere is great and the site itself is stunning, with beautiful mountain views. I'm so glad I was able to visit and see these wonderful animals!

+ Very nice structure, great playground and extra nice in the Sommer with water park and dinosaurs.
- very few places to seat and grab a food, either buying it there or taking it from home. no shade places around water toys.

An ideal destination to visit with kids. Lots of animals to see with informative presentations on the whereabouts of the animals. Offers a lot of places to stop and take a bite throughout the park including cantines. Very well preserved establishmemt. Impressive gift shop and a lot of parking space (no extra fee required to park). The playgrounds throughout the park impressed both of my kids and a ride is offered with the park's train. There is also a water park worth visiting throughout the summer months. The entrance fee is a little steep, but i promise it is worth it. I was also amazed to find out that there are cages for visitors to leave their pets securely with a bowl of water provided, while they enjoy their visit to the park. Overall an excellent experience!
Littlebird Halcyone — Google review
Super nice day our with the family, I suggest you follow the time table you get when you enter the park, so that you actually see the animals up close. the enclosures are very large (which is super good), so... be there for the feeding, and see them up close!
Sverre Rakkenes — Google review
Nice Zoo, with some playgrounds for children, a very little rollercoaster and a small dinosaur exhibit (with moving figures). Over the day there are several feeding times of different animals which can be visited. Overall a nice place to spend up to a better part of the day, however, for only a 'quick' visit the entrance fee is quite expensive.
Pascal Kahlig — Google review
The zoo is quite large, so you can easily go there for a day trip. We expected that there would be a little more animals, but it was really great anyway. During the day, you can take advantage of the programs about the animals that are there or join the feeding of some animals. The downside to feeding foxes is that, unfortunately, not everyone can feed them - with more guests, foxes can only be fed by children. Still, I think it's a place worth seeing.
Julia Wąsowska — Google review
Great place to go if you want to see bears etc. Bring good walking shoes as it is a little be of a hike but highly recommended coming if you want to see these up close. The bears are amazing.
Sam — Google review
Looks like the only zoo where they actually care about the space of the animals. Only the reptile area looked like the animals could do with some more space.
If you follow the feeding schedule you can see all the animals. Some areas are so big the animals hide when they're not being fed.
Good job and thank you for a great day, Bjørneparken!
Frank Frank — Google review
Amazing park! The animals live in their natural enviromment and they have very good interaction with the guests.
There is also a very nice playground there and a roller coaster for the smaller ones. Lots of tables to eat your own food as well.
Clean toilets everywhere are also a pluss.

went in sept 2019. did not plan on going. we were going from oslo to flam and decided to stay at fla for the night not knowing there is a zoo nearby. my 4 year old son got to know about it and next morning we were inside the zoo. its a really nice and well maintained zoo. all of us had a really good time. we saw many animals which we had not seen before. there is a small play area inside the zoo where my son enjoyed playing for sometime. it was a really nice surprise for us which we had not expected in our tour.
Shivang Patel — Google review
It's an entirely different way of seeing an animal park. The animals are in a more open and natural space. Besides, the animal's guardians are very kind and explain everything in Norwegian and English.
You should consider arriving early, to observe the activities that they have in different locations, I would recommend following the whole program, all it is included. And you should consider that the schedule changes according to the season of course.
Fox feeding is fantastic.
A beautiful construction prepared for visits. To this is added the possibility of following it with audio and 3d glasses. The Santa Claus room is simply wonderful. You pay a high entrance fee. But it is worth it.

Fake church, copy of a church in Oslo.
100 krone for an adult.
Better get 2 beers in the supermarket.
Shop inside seems like a second hand shop
Mehakot — Google review
A middle-age "park" is a wrong definition. A room with old cloth and tools. A room with elves and computers? And then the church, which is a impressive building but a copy, build in moden age. This place took us 10 minuts.
Thomas Gravesen — Google review
Weird experience. Me and my friends wanted to visit this church, but we had to pay an entrance fee of 18 kroner per person. We doubted if this would be worth it. Well, it wasn't. Luckily we were students + the man behind the desk was afraid we would leave, so we had to pay 7.50 kroner per person. The park consisted of a shop with old stuff, a shed with moving elves, a movie about building stave churches (with no sound, so useless) and some viking buildings that should be informative. Fun fact: besides the man at the desk, we saw no one in the whole park. The church was nice. All other things looked like they were in the start-up phase (the working tools were still there). Hopefully you'll reading this before you go, and not afterwards like us.
Thirza Sinke — Google review
Gol stavkirke.. at first one might believe it to be genuine - but it is in fact a copy from 1995 - the original from 1100 was rebuilt in Oslos Folkemuseum.
A nice enough reproduction - had it not been placed in a shoddy, 'make believe' Viking village, next to a large d.i.y.warehouse - and a busy main road! A totally unsuitable setting, in a town (Gol) which is amazingly ugly (how did the builders get permission to build some of those hideous 70's blocks?!) - but in such a beautiful natural valley? Everything that is good- and bad - about Norway.
Peter Bennett — Google review
The church h is a good copy of the original (now in Oslo), but the rest of the park isn't worth a visit.
We went there from Jevnaker and it took almost 3 hours to get to Langedrag. It was really nice trip, all along the way we were surprised by the scene of the fjords and mountains. As Langedrag natur park is really nice place, and for my kids, they loved to see all the wild animals, Lynx, wolfs, fox and many more. We would love to go there again. ❤️❤️

We arrived as the only visitors on a cold December day. Even though it was during off season, they were really welcoming. We had the best time during our visit, and even had the opportunity to feed the animals with the staff. We will return

We had a great time visiting this nature park. Fabulous selection of animals and we learned lots from the staff. The husky ride was fun for all of the family including our 7yr old daughter. Anna-Greta was amazing, she really took time to help us appreciate the animals and teach us about their living environment and was open to questions. She was also brilliant with the children, we especially enjoyed our experience with the artic foxes.
Beware we travelled from Geilo and the journey was an hour in a taxi which was expensive.

My partner and I visited from overseas. The park itself and the receptionist were lovely. However, we booked a horse ride and were very disappointed with the service of the person who led us. They were quite rude despite our polite efforts to ask questions about the park, they wore headphones for most of the ride and it was cut short by about 30 minutes of what we paid for. I hope this can be improved for future customers!

This place was deeply disappointing. I booked a horse ride. The instructions said the ride started at 10 and to get there 15 mins early. So I did. The door is locked. I tried calling, but every time I selected English the system hung up on me. So I stand in the rain because 'they don't open until 10.' What's with the instructions then? So I get in, wait in line, and they send me to the barn. But there is no one there. So I go back and wait in line again. Just for them to inform me they have canceled my ride. I prepaid 6 weeks in advance. They claim they texted me the day before but I have no record of that. I flew here and drove 4 hours, just to be told no. I was really looking forward to riding a fjord horse. And there was no consolation. What a huge waste. This place is not well run and has terrible communication. Would not recommend.

Second time I've visited this park, but this time also booked the wolf and lynx visits. It was a very enthralling experience to sit down with the wolves while caretaker Vemund answered our questions about the animals, despite it starting to rain a little bit during the visit with the wolves.
The experience with the lynxes was also very exciting. There is plenty of opportunity to take pictures.
Even if you don't book the additional wolf or lynx visits you get to interact with reindeer, moose and arctic foxes and watch the feeding of the wolves and lynxes. While most of the talks are in Norwegian another staff member joined our international group that guided and translated everything for us in English.
Xylios — Google review
Langedrag is an interactive animal parc. The highlights are that during feeding time you can personally feed the animals. This include feeding reindeers, mooses and foxes. It is amazing to do! Additionally, you can see the wolves and lynxes being fed. Besides that goats, horses and cows are walking loose, which you can pet and brush. The only understandable disadvantage is that the talks about the animals during feeding are in Norwegian. We visited in the summer period.
The price is 420 NOK per adult. We spent 4 hours in the Parc (summer open from 10-18). Cafetaria is present. Additional activities are possible.
Casper Groot — Google review
They charge you an arm and a leg for entrance (170 EUR for a family) plus extra for additional activities. The park is purely oriented on Norwegians, there is no English description at the cages. Google Translate to the max... But it is fascinating to see all native animals, impressive, and their cages are of ok-good size. Would I go again for this high price tag? Not sure....
Martijn Roelandse — Google review
Quite an experience and well worth the money - as long as one is there in time to join the feeding tours (12pm/2pm). You can help feed reindeer and moose and arctic foxes, and get close to a number of other animals. The enclosures are quite large and overgrown, which is good for the animals, but it can be difficult to spot them outside of feeding times.
Kai-Marian Pukall — Google review
Excellent day out with the family, lots of animals to see, quite a lot free roaming like rabbits and goats. We paid for 3 separate activities - fox encounter, lynx encounter snd horse riding. All were very good and communication was fine for English tourists. They were also very helpful on email when booking.
It is such a beautiful place that i think you will fall in love with. Scenic beauty of nature is at its peak in some of the locations on the way to Bergen. I would definitely recommend to visit this place. Try camping or even you can stay in cozy hotel and enjoy the beauty of the nature

The ski season in Geilo is from late October until late April. Geilo has numerous small ski centres that make up one resort, which goes by the name Geilo Skiheiser. This includes slopes on the town side of the valley, Havsdalen over the back side of the mountain, and across the valley at Geilolia (formerly Vestlia) which also connects to the Kikut area. Geilo Skiheiser has 39 slopes covering 33 km accessed by 20 lifts (14 plate, 6 chair). Geilolia skisenter (formerly Vestlia skisenter) tends to have the easier green and blue runs and is where the major ski school that operates in Geilo takes place, whereas Slaatta skisenter has the blue and red runs.

Be sure to take the trails appropriate to the time of the year you visit or you might end up having to do crazy thing to manage to get across some portions, be sure to have a beacon or locator app on your smartphone if you do like we did and go about the way you want even if it's not exactly the appropriate time of the year for the trail you're doing.

One of Norway's most famous natural sites, this precipitous waterfall has a visitor center & hotel.
Amazing waterfall even in the winter. It was more peaceful with no one else there. Definitely a must see if you are in the area.
The viewing platform is technically closed and it is not shoveled. But the road and parking lot are good. It's seems alot of people hiked through the snow to get a view.

I'll never travel to Bergen without this trip planner again
This unique observation platform extending out from the mountain offers dramatic views of the fjord.
One of the sights to see here in Norway! A beautiful creation of a viewpoint that should be visited if you’re in the region. Be aware of the thin road up if you’re driving from Aurland/Flåm, just this drive is an experience on it’s own…..
Probably not worth going up if it is cloudy/raining, but on a clear day, it is spectacular.
Not sure how it is there in terms of amount of people during "normal / non-Covid" times, but this year, it was a pleasant location to visit, though I could imagine it would be very crowded on a normal year in the Summer time.
Regardless of the matter, drive / hike up and enjoy the view!

Just wow! I mean it’s amazing. Highly suggest going to this outlook! The switched back road is a little crazy to drive on (literally wide enough for one car) but there are many pull off spots and everyone was really good at working with each other-the view is great if you have a nice day for it!

I was speechless. Such an amazing place. You can reach it by car or by organized bus (my choice). I think it’s safer by bus because you should know that the road to reach it is a bit difficult because of the small road itself so you have to make queues or wait for other cars to go, before passing yourself. It’s a bit thrilling though!
Go there, you won’t regret it.

Glorious views, but DO NOT COME ON RAINY / CLOUDY DAYS!
Drive to the top is quite demanding, lots of narrow parts where two cars can't go at the same time so caution is advised.
And like I said before, make sure it's a nice day, or you will be staring at a gray background and nothing else.
There are toilets on top, as well as a small parking lot which is free, but don't be surprised if it's full.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Stegastein lookout in Norway & it truly took my breath away. The majestic beauty that unfolds both beneath & above eye level is unparalleled.
Upon arrival, you instantly feel a sense of tranquility as you breathe in the fresh air while soaking in the peaceful surroundings. The view of the mountains & the ocean nestled between them is simply awe-inspiring. Simply gazing out at the scenery is a peaceful & calming experience. I highly recommend taking your time & truly savouring this magnificent vista.
The drive up the mountain to reach Stegastein lookout is equally amazing, with numerous stops along the way where you can fully appreciate the sensory experience & capture stunning photos. It is advisable to drive slowly to fully absorb the scenery. The roads are narrow, so if there are buses or trucks passing by you will need to move aside & give way, which can be a little scary if you are not a confident driver.
The memories & photos captured during my visit are truly incredible. I cannot stress enough how much I recommend visiting this place. It is an absolute must-see for anyone traveling in Norway.
This was my second visit to Stegastein lookout, the first being 5 years ago. The incredibly breathtaking view remains unchanged, but unfortunately, I noticed that the lookout itself has not been properly maintained and is starting to show signs of discoloration & deterioration. It would be a shame if such a remarkable place were not given the attention it deserves.

State-of-the-art museum with interactive natural history displays, fossils & a panoramic film.
Super experience for everyone. Here, we just wanted to learn something about Norway’s history but found a museum full of information starting from Norways climate, structure, development, animals, a panorama film and nature footage to a general floor covering climate change, the atmosphere and much more. When you are struggling if you should visit the museum, just go. It really is worth the price and you will need 1:30-2h. The only suggestion to make it even better is to film a new panorama movie to include some new pictures with a higher quality ;)

Older panoramic movie of nature from a helicopter. 2023 is supposed to have a newer version according to gift shop. Conservation focused exhibits, hiking, camping, and hunting simulator. Restaurant with local flavors across the street- gift shop with goats on the roof. Pricey souvenirs.

This is an indoor museum which has an interesting display focusing on the development of Norway through the ages, mainly focusing on the geology. As a nature centre I had expected something outside which is completely lacking. You will learn something for sure and it's useful if it's a cold rainy day, otherwise it's like a museum at a roadside that keeps you out of some stunning scenery.
Matthew Shaw — Google review
Norway really needs to bring outside museum and attraction experts in to design 21st Century museums. This museum is 5 years old, and while the panoramic film is nice, the rest consists mostly of dead stuffed animals and informational placards. That would be fine for a FREE national park visitor center but at 440 NOK ($42 USD) for a family of 4 - it’s ridiculous. This type of attraction is free in the US and UK.

Mixed feelings. The displays have nice signage in multiple languages, some interesting info like how fjords and glaciers are formed, and a recreated iceberg you can touch (which is indeed cold). It’s located within beautiful scenery, has a cafe and souvenir shop, and goats living on the grassy roof.
However, the 20-30 minute video is simply odd and the taxidermy displayed (including a recreation of reindeer dying) is not remotely what I like to see. The video in particular is the 90s style from helipcopter or plane showing the various fjords which seemed to give some people motion sickness. It also had odd music, no actual information until the last 30 seconds, so wondered why we were in a dark room watching a video when the places were literally outside.
Practical: it’s close to Eidfjord, set over three floors and does have a lift, and toilets are older but clean on lower level.
If sensitive to implication of animals being killed skip the video and second half of top floor exhibit

Really surprised by this modern, interactive and complete museum. It contains a chronology of the natural history of Norway including minerals and their formation, dinosaurs, fauna, flora, demographics... you name it!
On top of the main exposition there's an immersive video focusing on the nature of the area that was really beautiful and relaxing, and a slideshow of Norwegian art inspired by nature.
All explanations are in Norwegian, English and German (with the text being right next to the exposed thing they are referring to). On top of that, many tablets sprinkled around the museum have that same information in a number of other languages such as Spanish, French, etc...

Flåmsbana is a scenic railway journey that offers stunning views of the Norwegian mountains and valleys. The vintage carriages ascend almost 1,000 metres through picturesque landscapes, including waterfalls and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Naeroyfjord. The journey also includes a stop at Kjosfossen Falls. Departing from Flam Harbour, visitors can take in the incredible beauty of the narrow fjords en route to Myrdal.
Was pretty cool! If you go in winter time, on the round trip from Flam to flam, don't go all the way up to the final stop at Myrdal, as everything is closed for the winter season. Instead, get off just one exit before, where there are open shops and a restaurant. Once you are up in Myrdal you are stuck waiting for nearly two hours until the train comes back down and you are not able to walk down to the previous stop, as you cannot cross the train tracks. Still was a lovely experience and the views were great.

The most beautiful train ride in the world. The scenery on this train is too magnificent to put into words and cameras just can't quite capture the beauty no matter how hard I tried! Definitely a "must do" if ever in Norway... I will definitely be back sometime in my life to experience this again.
Hot tip: For best views, if catching from Myrdal, sit on left hand side of train (right side if catching from Flåm). Also aim for a window that opens for best views and camera shots x

We disembarked from our boat tour through the fjords in Flam to catch the Flam Railway to Myrdal. The trains are retro and quite spacious. I was pleasantly surprised to discover flat screens featuring key points of interest (which were also narrated). We were thrilled to stop at a gorgeous waterfall for a fantastic photo opp (and cool surprise that I won’t spoil). Read up about all the twists and turns the train must make to navigate — it’s fascinating. The stop in Myrdal is also scenic. Well worth the trip.

Words cannot describe this train ride. It is something you have to experience. You already start with the beauty of the small town of Flåm, and things only get better from there. Amazing train journey from Flåm to Myrdal past some of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. The railway is an awesome feat of engineering being built by hand by 120 to 220 people over about 20 years. It was March when we visited and so a mixture of snow and greenery, but it would be great in any conditions. There is a stop at a huge waterfall which was frozen when we visited.

The Platonic ideal of a sightseeing railway, winding from ridges of volcanic rock topped with glacial ice down to the crystalline beauty of the fjords. I appreciated the information provided on English, Norwegian, and German. The ride is steep but not uncomfortably so, and the train carriages themselves are classy and elegant. Note that it stops in front of a billowing, gushing waterfall, and there is the opportunity to get out and experience the forceful onrush of water as it's mist sprays your face.

Took this train as a part of Norway in a nutshell. Nice train ride if you want to see all different parts of Norway, you start at sea level and then go up 800 meters of elevations. If you sit on the right hand side you get perfect views of everything in nature. Also cool to pick a seat where you can bring down the window. If you are looking for speed, this is not the way to go but if you area looking to take in sights, this is the way to go.

The 20 KM long Flam Railway trip has been the most scenic and beautiful train rides I have ever done. In fact the golden train trip in Switzerland can be placed next to this one. The wild and beautiful mountains, lush nature, breath taking waterfalls and fresh green farms mesmerize the nature lovers and transform them into a state of ecstasy where they forget themselves and feel in union with the nature.
The train passes through agricultural landscapes and Flam Village. There is about 5 minutes of break at the Kjosfossen waterfall where the passengers can get down to appreciate the beauty of the waterfall and capture their unique experiences in digital forms to make them memorable.
Another attraction along the way is the Flam Railway Museum. The museum displays an authentic El 9-locomotive along with various historical items, text, photographs and audio.
Overall, it will be a mesmerizing and memorable journey of your life.

The train has wide panoramic windows for taking in the views and a few windows in each car that open for photography.
The train is a dedicated track between Myrdhal station at the top of the mountain, about 2700', and Flam station at sea level on the fjord. The train stops on the.way up and on the way down at a magnificent waterfall.

The train ride is a great experience!
We got the train from Voss to Myrdal then the Flåmsbana railway to Flåm. The train itself is in a vintage style which is what the tour is trying to achieve, however it does have toilets and plenty of space.
The scenery from the windows is amazing and there is a short stop at a waterfall on the way down. Here you can take pictures and watch the traditional dancer.
The railway is a fantastic experience but be warned it can be quite busy due to the cruise liners and other tourists coming to the area. At the bottom in Flåm the queues were quite large and we were glad we came the opposite way from Myrdal.

We took the train to Myrdal in July this year. It was a very fun and scenic trip. Many impressive waterfalls, one of which they stop at and let everyone get out and take pictures of. We had booked the zip line and bike trip back to Flåm, so we got out at the second to last stop. It was a bit of a walk to the zip line start. The view was beautiful and the zip line was a lot of fun. It was quite long but over fast. The bike ride back down was the highlight of our entire trip. If you are on the fence about biking, know it is definitely worth it! There are a few places where you need to bike uphill but most of the ride is downhill, so get familiar with your brakes. Despite being part of a group if about 20 or so, we ended up biking most of the way mostly alone. We would pass some groups, stop for pictures and get passed by them. It was fun, because you could choose when and where you wanted to stop. There were two restrooms on the way down, but neither had toilet paper, so pack some or be prepared to go without!

This was a really good ride with the Flamsbana! Be sure to give it a try when you are in Flam and enjoy the great view of the mountains and valleys on both sides of the trail. The waterfall is deeply frozen in winter and there are far fewer visitors than in summer, wonderful 👍

A spectacular 20 km railway from Flam to Myrdal, where it connects with the Bergen-Oslo railway. The round trip costs 500 NOK for adults and can be purchased separately from cruiseship or other excursions. There are steep steps to board the train - though ramps are available. It climbs about 3000ft from the valley floor and, depending on the time of year, you see waterfalls or ice. It is very beautiful - especially if you are lucky enough to get bright sunshine, as we did in early March 2024!
Judy Holyer — Google review
This was quite a charming train ride through snow clad hilly country, looking at the frozen waterfalls and the houses dotted about in the valleys.
There are a few stops along the way, where hotels are situated, before you arrive at Flam itself.
Seats are on a first come, first served basis, and the train can get crowded. We traveled up on the Easter weekend and it was quite packed, made worse by the previous day's derailment which meant we had to be bussed halfway to and from Bergen train station. This dampened our mood somewhat.
You board the Flam train at Myrdal station - due to the derailment, the Bergen bound trains were delayed, and it was very cold waiting outside the station as the hall inside was full.
It is expensive, but you should enjoy the experience at least once. Advance bookings are essential.

I rate 4 stars only because it might be slightly disappointing (also for its cost) after having started with the sheer beauty of Fläm itself. Nothing can improve from what you have seen from the top of the ship and then when landing. That's why this uphill train journey comes second no matter how nice it, nevertheless, is.

Beautiful train ride and definitely does the positive comments justice. We did it in winter, tends to be a bit more quiet, but the views were just as breathtaking.
FjordSafari - Flam Guide Service AS is an outdoor activity organiser that offers boat, hiking and bike tours from Flåm village to the stunning Aurlandsfjord & Nærøyfjord. It is known for being a great spot for wildlife sightings such as seals and porpoises. The company provides thermal suits, gloves and other gear to keep guests warm during the fast-paced boat tours.
We had great weather and beautiful scenery, so it was difficult to go wrong, but even so Anna was such a contagiously cheerful guide that it would be impossible, even for an old Eeyore like me, not to enjoy the experience. The cheese tasting at Unredal was great too

We were lucky enough to take one of the extended safari trips in 2018, and even luckier to be able to do another on a recent stop off in Flam from our cruise.
I can't recommend this trip highly enough! The staff all speak excellent English and are friendly, welcoming, and professional.
The trips are safe, but fun, and you get to see some stunning scenery. You are well kitted out so no issue with getting cold or wet.
The rib drivers have excellent knowledge of the area and make the trips interesting and exciting.
If we are ever lucky enough to return to Flam in the future (preferably via a more environmentally friendly ship) then we will have absolutely no hesitation in booking a third trip!
Thank you to all concerned for a great experience. 👍 😊

Fantastic tour on the rib boat with an excellent guide. Loved the stories of the Fjord and the goats cheese tasting just topped it off nicely 😋 We did the Safari Taste tour and I would definitely recommend it!

Two amazing experiences today. First was a 3 mile (10km) hike to a beautiful waterfall. The guides, Paulina and Rose, were incredible, well versed in the history and so helpful and friendly. Overall, not a strenuous hike. Approximately a 525ft (160m) elevation gain.
The second experience was the speed boat ride through the Fjords with an amazing guide explaining the rice history. The views were spectacular, and they provide all the proper gear to protect against the cold and water. My only complaint is the speed boat of choice did not have normal seats, you have to straddle the seat sort of like riding a bull and it is not the most comfortable over a long period of time.

Speed boat in March, cold , wet, and fantastic. They dress you up nice and warm and it so much fun. Definitely worth braving the weather for. The cheese tasting in Undredal is gorgeous and Eric? I hope that's right, was very informative and interesting. Fantastic sights and super fun.

Five stars are not enough for the beauty of the fjord. It was such a magical ride. None of us wanted to get down at the end. Very pretty. Smiling staff. Plenty of comfortable seats inside and to stand outside as well. The journey itself is comfortable but the view is so beautiful...just like the wallpapers we see. ..you won't know how the time flew in the fjord...we also tried the cafeteria inside the fjord and the coffee and food was good.
Bit pricy but good.
We took a bus for our return because we wanted to explore gudvangen which was a good decision....you might take 3 -4 hours to see everything in the village which is also a don't miss kind of stop.
Worth each penny for this fjord. Definitely will go again!! Hope so!!

Incredible views out on the boat! We were concerned when we showed up to a rainy day in Flam for our fjord safari but the suit they give you does a great job keeping you warm. I’d suggest wearing tall warm socks since that’s the only spot not really covered by the suit.

We really enjoyed our experience cruising the fjords with Fjord Safari!! The crew equipped us with warm thermal suits, life jackets, and goggles before setting out. The boat ride is fun and exciting, and the guide is a wealth of information, providing detailed information about the area’s history and wildlife along the way. We stopped in a goat farm village and got to sample cheese and hot black currant juice. The weather held on our way out, and the scenery was just stunning. We returned to port just in time, as it started to rain. You don’t go quite as far down the fjord as we expected, but it you do get a lot closer to the edges and waterfalls than in any other boats. It was an amazing experience and I strongly recommend to any adventurous spirit!

We did fjord Safari today and really loved it. Our great guide Bartosz had lots of good stories about the fjords, the local cheese and the villages - very informative.
Although we had a little rain as well, the provided suits and goggles kept us nicely dry. Great trip and certainly recommended.

Staff is amazing, and so well prepared on local history and interesting topics! For example, we discovered the brown cheese produced in Undredal… amazing!
The tour itself is excellent, the views are breathtaking!
They provide you with a warm, rainproof suit, a life vest and goggles to enjoy this adventure no matter the weather!
Strongly recommend.

Absolutely amazing.
This trip was the highlight of our time in Flåm , Ty was a fantastic tour guide and the scenery was stunning.
The service was well delivered, from the provision of the floatation suits to the instructions given and the journey itself.
We blasted along the fjords stopping regularly for an explanation or story about what we were looking at. The ride itself was entertaining and enjoyable, it seemed like everyone in our boat was having a great time.
Reading the reviews, yes the name says safari but this is just a nice name for a tour along the fjords and hey you might see an animal or two if your lucky. And again, if you’ve come via cruise your probably going to travel along the stretch you’ve already seen.
This is a fantastic experience and well deserves the 5 stars. We would even do it again if we ever returned.

Despite the rain, we had an amazing time on our FjordSafari. We booked this as part of the Norway in a Nutshell package and it was great to land in Flåm from Gudvangen and head back out to continue seeing the magnificent sits along the fjords! As other reviews mentioned, you get outfitted with tons of gear to keep you warm and dry, so even though it was raining, we had an amazing time and in many ways, that added to the charm!

Excellent, well recommend to all over 14 yrs old . You have to get suited up ,for safety reasons. Cost £80 each approximately . Don’t buy off the Cruise ship much cheaper on shore. This was the highlight of my holiday. 12 persons per boat . Fantastic way to see the Fjords. Absolutely stunning views. Takes about 2.5 hours . The guide Olaf was great giving the history of the area. All clothing for the boat are provided, waterproof suit, life jacket, goggles and hat , gloves . Wrap up warm as well as it does get cold on the fjords. Definitely recommend this safari . They provided binoculars too .

Make sure to take the extended version of the tour as it's almost 2 hours v.s. just one and there's so much to see during this trip.. Also go to the toilet before getting on the boat as it's very cold on the water and the boat doesn't make any stops so as for you to get off the boat.
The Flam Railway, also known as Flamsbana, is a renowned train journey in South Norway that covers around 20 kilometers and offers breathtaking views of mountains, waterfalls, and valleys. Considered one of the most beautiful train journeys globally, it's a must-see when visiting this part of Norway. In addition to popular attractions like the Borgund Stave Church and Undredal Stave Church, the Flam Railway Museum is an intriguing stop.
Beautiful city and green place to live, lots of shop and vendor restaurant serving international and local food. It famous with the dolls called it Trolls, unique dolls with scary look and long nose.
You can do bike from the bike rental or just walking by your own. Is worth a place to visit although bit expensive.

A quaint, informative museum about the struggles, ideals, and practical reality of constructing a perilous mountain railway. If you think you'll like it based on that sentence, I guarantee you will. The old train, graceful and powerful, lies at the heart of the museum -- pay it a respectful visit.

Quite an interesting place to spend 20 minutes while waiting for the actual train to arrive. They provide a history of how the railway was made, and there is a lovely display of model trains.
They do also have an actual old train on display - it is roped off so you cannot climb on board, but you can still take photos with it.

A nice, sweet museum that describes the life of a tougher, rougher time of building the railroads for what is known to be one of the most beautiful train rides in the world. The back room gets a bit warm with no air conditioning. Located where massive cruise lines make their port calls.

Great little museum.
As we had some time to kill in Flam before our boat, it was an obvious choice to visit the museum.
Great little place. It is not huge and although there are plenty of items on display, it is the history of the railway that is fascinating. So much information that you get lost in time. Really worth it if you fancy some history and reading.

The 20km of scenic railway started construction in 1924. It took 15 years to build and 70 years of planning to completion. There were 20 tunnels of which 18 were build by hands. The railway project was completed in 1940.

it is located right outside the station. From outside it looks small, but it's quite big inside. It is really worth seeing the engineering marvel. The exhibition shows how one of the steepest train route in the world was started and how over the years it was improved upon to its present condition. One has to see it to believe it. The old photos, articles and even old wagons are really worth seeing. The entrance is free. If you want to see in detail, then you you need 1/2 hours.
Worth seeing...

This museum is a true treasue. It's a beautiful, clean space with a free entry for everybody, inviting tourists to step in and explore the history surrounding the creation of the railway, which remains a the main attraction in the area of Flam. It not only delves into the railway's history but also provides insights into the daily life of that era.
At the entrance, there's also a souvenir shop where, along with your exploration of the museum, you can indulge in some tax free shopping. It is, indeed true, that it may appear small from the outside, the museum surprises with its spacious interior, featuring the highlight of an old train section at the back. Highly recommended if you're in the area, and just a 10-minute visit can be quite rewarding.

This little museum and souvenir shop is located right next to the cruise dock and train station. Entrance is free and it’s a good place to occupy some time. During our travels we did not come across too many souvenir shops so we were very happy to be able to load up on our refrigerator magnets, t-shirt, pocketknife, etc. We felt the souvenirs were a tasteful selection and decently well made. The cashier warned us to ensure we place the pocketknife into checked luggage when flying and provided us with the VAT tax refund paperwork and receipt. The museum part is worth a walk through especially since it’s free.

4,528-ft. suspension bridge, one of the world's longest, offering a path for pedestrians & cyclists.
This is a bridge I sailed under as I cruised up Eidfjord. Before I arrived here, I was unaware of its existence, but having seen it in this stunning setting, it is something I would recommend is worth making the effort to visit.
Whether viewed from the water or from the shore, there is no arguing about the fact that this is an incredible piece of engineering.

With its 1 380 meters, Hardanger bridge is the longest Norwegian hanging bridge. It is strongly wedged between two mountains. Its only access points are two tunnels with underground roundabouts, one on each side.
From Kvernabekken park, a free pedestrian road is accessible to wheel-chairs. It’s a nice walk with great views on the bridge and Hardanger fjord.

Trolltunga is a remarkable natural formation that juts out from a rocky precipice over Lake Ringedalsvatnet in Norway. It is one of the most photographed attractions in the country and draws many hikers to its challenging 27km trail.
One of the most amazing experiences of our lives. The hike is long and medium in difficulty but it can be do in one day if you shuttle to the starting point. We did it with our 2 kids who were 10 and 15 at the time. The youngest kid we met on the trail was 5. Ideally is to take your time but we only had one day for this. It took us 3h to get to the troll’s tongue and about 2h to get back to the shuttle. We spent 2h or so on the rock taking photos. There is a line but it goes pretty fast. Bring lots of water, snacks and sunscreen. On a sunny day the sun will burn. We learned that the hard way.

This is one of the best hikes I have ever done!
We parked our car at the P1 around 8:30am (P2 was already fully by then and P3 needs to be reserved way in advance). We paid 300NOK for the parking + 200NOK for a shuttle but that took us to P2 (we also paid 200NOK when coming back). The road from P1 to P2 is pretty tight and there is traffic so it is not adviceable to do it on foot. We did walked from P2 to P3 both ways but you also have the option to take another shuttle bus.
It took us around 7 hours and half to get back to P2, we were really lucky with the weather and the view are absolutely stunning! The hike is not an easy one but hands down the Troll Tongue makes it all worth it!

Amazing hike, really worth it. You get to see multiple breathtaking views and at the top you see the rock n take pictures. Please read the instructions given on official website, these are really helpful and you experience will be great.
Wear good shoes, flexible trouser and rainproof jacket. Take extra shirt with you, use toilet before starting your hike, keep something to eat (energy bars, fruits, sandwiches..etc) and water (plain water, energy drinks, juice…etc)
Hike itself is not very hard, it’s just long if you are beginner, almost half of the time you just walk straight and elevation is there on both directions means you go up and down multiple times instead of just going upwards and coming down on the way back. This mean complexity is almost the same on the way back.
USMAN MUGHAL — Google review
What a hike this is! The view at the end is definitely worth it. People are waiting at the end to let you have your moment alone on the rock, which is quite nice!
Make sure to wait a bit for the right moment, it can be very cloudy for a while and then rapidly change to beautiful weather!
The hike can be quite crowded, would recommend to go at an early time to avoid queuing!

Amazing hike. Hard, but definitely worth it. We took the first bus up from p2->p3 and it was definitely worth it. The road was super super steep during that part so if you do want to hike it, be prepared. Started walking just before 7am and got to the Trolltunga just after 11am. There was a short line for pictures when we arrived but we found that from 11:30am-12pm there were the most people trying to take pictures. Definitely try to get pictures before 2pm during august as you’ll have a big shadow after that time. There’s a few streams and waterfalls along the way which we filled up our bottles at. A little bit hard on the joints as there’s a lot of stairs made from big rocks so bring your braces if you wear them.

I`m not a hiker and though this hike was very difficult for me I can honestly say that it is truly worthed. It took me 10 hours to go there and get back. We parked at P3 parking (paid 600 NOK for parking, be sure to book it in advance). It is a very popular trail so expect to see a lot of people on the way and up there. You can`t see the view unless you reach the final point. Before reaching it there is another marvelous view. When you finally get there, you`ll see people waiting in line to take a photo on Trolltunga. We didn`t line, we just marveled at the view.

From P3 at Magelitopp you have 10 km to the Troll’s tongue and it saves you 8 km of walk. The road up there is winding and steep but very safe - it’s been asphalted recently. Only 30 cars per day are allowed to P3 so booking is necessary (600 kronas). A toll has been added (200 kronas) - so it makes it a pricy attraction. The hike itself is indeed challenging (Visit Norway just changed the rating from red to black), as the path is almost never flat (apart from the first 45 minutes). Two steep portions of climbing. The body needs to be warmed up for this exercise or there will be some pain. People seem to be able to do it in running shoes but I definitely appreciated my boots and wool socks on the jagged rocky paths. After a few rather boring rocky stretches, lakes and rivers start to appear with patches of coloured flower beds that distract you briefly from the pain in your legs. There were many people on the trail but the wait at the top for the pics on the tongue was very short (we did it on a Sunday). Pack a towel for a quick dip in the lakes. At around km 8 there’s a river where you can fill up the water bottle.

Amazing hike, absolutely amazing! I'm going to make first timers lives easier! Don't do it in shoes, when there is no snow, running shoes are fine, when there is snow, take boots, go to the outlet store for hiking equipment in town, they have cheap waterproof options. If there is no snow don't worry. Take a second pair of socks to change into at the top as your feet will likely get wet. You can fill you water bottle along the way, so don't take litres for the beginning of the hike. If you don't want to walk up the winding road, pay for the shuttle bus, but don't just rock up and hope to get a seat, book online before hand and skip the que. Be mindful of the shuttle bus times, we did the round trip in 5 hours, including photos and eating at the top and we were too early for the shuttle bus and walked from p3 to p2, after the hike.

We did the trail mid June and I found the weather to be perfect, cloudy. I cannot imagine walking for so long without any clouds on the sky. We reserved parking at P3 four days prior and it was the best decision. We did in total 8 hours including the 30 minute wait to take our pictures. All in all I would recommend it but it's that type of trail where all the beauty is at the finish line, not that much to see on the way there.

Magnificent place! We parked our car P2 and we used shuttle bus to go to P3, it’s also starting point for Trolltunga. The hike was quite easy, but a bit long! But the scenery was amazing so we didn’t feel bored at all. We made a camp near the last water source, it was beautiful area just I saw one bad thing the people came here leaved the tissue, I assume toilet paper, their behind even the starting point and all area has signs about bring your waste back, it is so sad for me because we should keep clean and protect these amazing place and even you can get a waste bag from the start point for free. I mean after those things leaving your dirty tissues is so selfiesh. Please don’t do it.

I hiked up Trolltunga with a guide on 22/05/23.
It was a winter season guide activity.

It has a great view and deserves to hike.

Fantastic hike with wonderful, scenic views. Really recommend that you do this one. And the images do not make the view justice.
However you need great shoes and snacks along the way as the trail is tough. And requires that you have a lot of energy. You need to be in quite good shape to do it really. There are quite steep inclines that require some determination to master.
The “tongue” is quite broad to walk on so not as scary as it looks.
You will have a nice time doing it but make sure you do it on a day with great weather.

Visited here on mid sep Arrived around 7.00am and half of the P2 parking(500nok) lot still available. Weather- bit cloudy at the start then sunny throughout the entire hiking
We pre-booked the shuttle bus to P3. (150nok each) Kinda start the hike at ~7.50am Lot of people yet its a popular attraction so deal with it
Its our first time here so we’re trying not to rush and appreciate the scenery along the way. There are many spots to stop by really recommend don’t be too rush and skip it. But its depend on your goal anyway. Arrived at ttg at noon, hang there for lunch and finishing at ~16.30
Splendid experience 👍🏻👍🏻
Ps. Recommend to be prepared with the hiking boot(especially a clumsy one like me) , the gear depend on the weather, water and food :)

The most beautiful hiking I’ve ever had!
We stared our hike quite late at 11:30 from P2. There were no shuttle bus already. And finished at 21:30.
Almost 28km return hike from P2
We reached Trolltung at about 16:00. There were no many people. But it’s better to start earlier of course! So spend more time enjoying the view!

Great hike. Very good scenery along the way. It’s not a particularly hard hike, not much rock scrambles, no steep ascent or narrow pathways. It’s just long, so good shoes and supplies (food & water) make a difference.
We were there for two consecutive days. First day was raining. There were still lots of people going, but we decided to wait for better weather. The second day had great weather, but P2 was almost full when we got there at 8:30am. The line waiting for the bus to P3 was long (they only had two vans running, each carrying about 18 people and taking 30 mins for round trip). You can make bus reservations online ahead of time, which allows you to bypass the line at your designated time slot. But that made the line go even slower. We waited an hour before boarding, paying 150NOK/pp. It’s still worth it though, saving time (~1hr) and energy for the initial climb for an already long hike. We also took the bus down at the end of the hike (100NOK/pp), just wanting to get to the car/bathroom quicker at that point.
It took us about three hours to get to the rock. There is line there to take photos. The rock is pretty flat and broad, so not scary at all to be on. The best place to take photos is quite far behind the line, before climbing down the ladder. So try to find a partner not adjacent to you to take your pictures while you walk on the tongue. Plan at least 45 mins for queuing and photos at the rock (there are also smaller tongues to explore).
The return trip was a bit faster (2.5h), with an alternate path at the end to the P3 parking lot if you’re lucky enough to reserve one. It’s booked out many weeks in advance, and you’d be gambling on good weather for the day you chose.

This is the first waterfall you'll come across if you're doing the hike to see all four which is what we did. Easy to get to but still impressive next to the power station. I recommend getting to the second one if you can but it's a steep climb!

Powerful waterfall that is less well known. The water volume of this fall is very big which makes it one of my favourite from my trip. The hike up towards nyastolfossen is also nice (there's two paths). I highly recommend this waterfall hike but it's not for beginner hikers because it's not well paved and is quite a steep climb. Tveitafossen is easy to walk to though so you can always choose to go to just one waterfall instead of all the falls in the husedalen valley.

I visited this place with my dog. We walked on the hiking route all the way to the top and had a nice dip in the waterfall before heading down. On the way down i noticed there is another route which is a road with gravel. Such a nice surprice, as the route we took up was very exausting with a dog on your shoulder :-)
I recomment you to take both routes, in which order is for you to decide. There is a big difference between the routes and how you watch the river from them and i wouldn't like to miss any of them!

The Husedalen hike starts in the town of Kinsarvik, in the western fjords area.
From Bergen it is about a 2-hour drive.
The walk starts easily, on a paved road. Until the first waterfall, Tveitafossen. That is about a 30 minute walk.
Then the real hiking begins. The path becomes steeper and more difficult. But it's worth it 🙂.

Prachtig!

(Translated by Google) Very nice, large waterfall. The first of four in the Husedalen valley after about a 30-minute walk from the parking lot at the go-kart track.
The next ones are definitely worth seeing, although the approach to them is a bit more difficult.
The entire route to the four waterfalls takes about 4 hours of leisurely walking there and back.

Cała trasa do czterech wodospadów to ok. 4 h spokojnego marszu tam i z powrotem.

(Translated by Google) This trip is absolutely fantastic, but somewhat demanding. From the first waterfall you can go further, either by road or by path. We recommend taking the road until you see the signs from DNT (marked T) towards stavali tourist hut. Then you get the best way along the waterfalls and rivers. Remember to take several breaks on the worst slopes and drink plenty of water from the river. Did the trip with small children aged 5 and 7, and it went well, but could have been a little better marked with distance signs and generally better marking. Otherwise, the trip was completely adventurous! It is fine to camp between the second and third waterfalls. Just before the third waterfall, there is also a WC that you can use.

A disappointing experience. The three young women behind the desk didn't seem to have a clue and apparently weren't hikers themselves. They did know the English words for "long" and "short" but looked blankly at each other when we asked about trail specifics. When asked specifically about the Buer glaciar hike, they assured us that trail conditions were dry. Not!

Very useful tourist info center with plenty of maps/pamphlets in several languages. There are also restrooms. I dropped my phone in the toilet here, just FYI because I'm still bitter. But the tourist centre is great.

It was not altogether the most upbeat of service. These places are like your first introduction to a town, will I be welcome here in this town? A good welcome sends the message that you are. Nevertheless, it wasn't bad service and it was informative. I give 3 stars because nothing went above and beyond and that's ok really. It's right there as half decent help.
The Hopperstad Stave Church is an ancient wooden church from the 1100s located in Vik. It was restored in the 1880s by architect Peter Blix and is considered to be a great example of a stave church. Visitors can enjoy the interesting interior, including ancient drawings located at the back of the church. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions visitors may have about this historic landmark that has managed to withstand the test of time.
Unfortunately I arrived in the late afternoon and the church was closed. Though I missed the interior I appreciated the iconic outside appearence of the very old stave church. It is built in 12th century, one of the oldest in Norway. It was restored in 19th century by architect Peter Blix who gave it back features that remind the Viking ship building art.

Nice stave church with and interesting interior. The staff was nice and answered all our questions. There are ancient drawings in the back of the church which you should check out.

Absolutely fantastic! The church is almost 1,000 years old. It was rebuilt in the late 1800,s. I took pictures of the inner construction since I found that so fascinating. The entire outdoor museum was great.

Great example of a stave church.
The guide told us with passion about his church and the history.
We walked around it and inside, which was also very nice.
Lucky this one is still standing and hasn't been taken down in the past

I don’t know why people complain about the entrance fee to visit these beautiful conserved monuments?

We stopped here on our way through to Balestrand. It's a lovely little church in a beautiful setting. We paid to go in and stayed about 20 minutes. There was a guide available to take you around and they also had pamphlets for you to read. It is a bit expensive but we bought a family ticket for 250kr which helped with the cost. I'm not sure it's completely necessary to go inside but if you have some time and are willing to pay the entry, then go. Otherwise you can get lovely photos from outside the grounds.

The Hopperstad stavkyrkje is one of the three churches in Vik i Sogn. But it is the only stave church. A majestic matched copper beech grows next to it in the graveyard.
Emmanuel LEGROS — Google review
Worthy stop in the picturesque village of Vik. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the story of the 11th century church. There are many original artefacts from the time preserved in the church, and the outside has been restored to how it appeared in 1130.
Mathew Love — Google review
Beautiful example of stave churches in Norway, which is, if not the oldest, one of the very oldest available. The church is believed to be built around 1130 and keeps many well preserved details. When open (and after buying a ticket) you could access the inside area of the church and enjoy many details frontje period, among which a 1000 years old chest.
The church stands in the beautiful typical Norwegian surrounding.
Omid Givi — Google review
Typical Stave Church. You need to pay to enter but you get an extensive explanation about the church history for it in return. Be advised: the church has very little light as was custom back then, so it is quite dark inside.
Marc Thijssen — Google review
The drive to Hopperstad is a really beautiful mountain pass leading into the fjord and valley where the church resides. Drive carefully getting there and check weather conditions before you go as the pass can and does close for bad weather. Also note that the parking is just a pull off along the roadside near the church.
Wonderful location, kind people and it was by far the best jumps of my life! I recommand a thousand time:)

Best place (world wide?) to do skydive course, tandem and for pro skydiving.
Awesome atmospher, friendly people, big playground for kids (for free!!!), so its a nice place to just hang around and there is a river 10 minutes walking from the dropzone where you can have a chill swim on warm summer days with crystal clear water.
There is also a sauna, hot tubs, climbing tower and cafeteria.
What more can you ask for?
A freshly baked pizza from a stone oven? Yes there is!
Its a must place to visist if you are in Voss or driving thrue. Even if you dont dare to take the step to do a skydive.

It was awesome!! Great staff too! Just think that kids should pay less in order to come more often and this would also encourage parents to join in the fun. Photos and film should be included, to increase, and also spread, brand loyalty in the long term 😉👍

Extremely difficult to deal with if you require a refund due to
cancellations - previous reviews seem to confirm this as well. Great if everything goes smoothly and weather is perfect, I unfortunately had a different experience. Travelled a long way for the skydive, called them 3 days in advance to confirm if the dive will go ahead as weather was forecasted to be rain/cloud. Called them the day before and they seemed very confident it would go ahead despite me questioning the weather. We get there on the day, I paid the balance and was immediately told after they take my money that the dive may not go ahead if the clouds stay low. Waited 1.5 hours before we were told the dive is cancelled. I emailed them for confirmation of a refund and for 7 days did not receive a responds or answer to any of my calls. They finally responded 2 weeks later saying they will process the refund and that it would take another 14 days, 14 days pass and still no refund. Emailed them again, and the response was they had filled in the bank account details wrongly and the transaction did not go through and they will redo the refund which then came through immediately. Which begs the question if this was all a delay tactic. While the experience would've have been great if the skydive happened, the business is run extremely badly, when you take money from customers so easily but do not follow up with care. Will not be recommending this place.
Melanie Inbaraj — Google review
Excellent place to skydive!! The scenery is beautiful and the skies are incredibly blue. The people are awesome and can get you started in skydiving or show you a good time if you're already jumping. Definitely check out this dropzone.
Alex Knaub — Google review
My wife and two of her friends wanted to try tandem skydiving and booked a timeslot for 17th of July. The day came and we drove to the jump site. The weather on the day was unstable but the instructors were optimistic that the jump would go ahead. We proceeded to pay 3 x 3.490 plus the previous paid deposit of 3 x 500 but the weather conditions deteriorated to the point where the instructors canceled due to safety reasons. This was of course irritating but safety must always come first.
The problem is that we never received the refund. We have been in contact with Voss Fallskjermklubb repeatedly and they have actually told us the money was refunded the same day the jump was canceled, but no money has reached any of our bank accounts.
We have sent them numerous mails and called them several times but we don't hear anything from them. No follow up and no money. I would recommend that you don't pay anything to Voss fallskjermklubb unless the weather conditions are absolutely perfect, since it seems they have big cash flow problems.

The rib boat tour to Finnafjorden is a must do when in Balestrand. Friendly and professional staff. Our guide Mons knew a lot about the history and wildlife. The trip takes about two hours and gives you breathtaking views of the surrounding area. One of the highlights of our Norway trip was renting electric bikes in Balestrand and biking along the fjords! The sights were absolutely incredible and thanks to the boost by the electric bikes, we saw a lot in a short amount of time. They weren’t even much more expensive than the normal bikes. We biked from the shop in Balestrand along the Esefjord then to Dragsvik and finally along the Sværafjorden and back. We definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Balestrand. I want my own electric bike now!

Breathtaking views throughout the Songefjord. Feeling the spray of the waterfall was an added perk! Our guide, Lars, was funny and as a local to Balestrand, he was very knowledgeable about local history, architecture, and Nordic legends.

Our RIB boat tour was in one word: Amazing! The captain was very knowledgeable about the area and shared tons of stories and local legends, he even sang a folk song for us. Tvindefossen is a well-known waterfall in Norway, dropping over 150 meters amid tree-covered hills and cliffs. It is located on the route from Bergen to Gudvangen and can be easily accessed by road. However, it tends to get crowded with large tour groups stopping here frequently. Despite the crowds, Tvindefossen remains a picturesque destination for anyone who admires waterfalls.
nice waterfall on the side of the road...too much crowed as big tour groups stop here.
