Medieval history museum with glass-covered cathedral ruins & old buildings from Hedmark villages.
Really cool and interesting place! Seeing the old ruins and connecting the history of the place is fascinating. The modern additions to the building bridge the modern with the ancient in a way that even though you know it's modern it doesn't detract from the history. My family very much enjoyed our visit here, and the walk to the railroad museum.

Google said open, but only outdoor musuem was open. Inside only certain days unfortunately. Still cool to see the old buildings outdoors so that was worth 3 stars and the drive there
Zach Pickard — Google review
A great and well organised museum with a treat from the singing guide to use the wonderful acoustic.
Emmanuelle Floquet — Google review
The cathedral in glass is certainly impressive, and the bishop’s residence very interestingly constructed, however the museum certainly underwhelms by the presentation and displays - very little information overall, and even less in english. The entrance price is very high for what you get. I would recommend simply walking through the beautiful park, which you can do for free.
Seb Perez-D — Google review
In my opinion, one of the nicest park/recreational/museum areas in Norway. A lot of historical things you can explore without any cost, open gardens you can enjoy relaxing in, bathing and open areas you can use to whatever. It’s close to city center and connected with the Railway museum and climbing park.
Jon Espen Nergård — Google review
I've visited this site many times. It is basically an outdoor museum, with a collection of old houses, sporting an indoor exhibition, and the cream of the crop: the ruins of the old cathedral / bishop's castle. Today, the ruins is encased in a glass ceiling, recreating a sacral atmosphere. We went there for a midnight concert, and it was quite simply magical.
Esben Kobberstad (ThatNorwegianAuthorDude) — Google review
Beautiful church ruins roofed by a large glass triangle. We attended a wedding ceremony which turned out absolutely fantastic.
Great acoustics and a very nice atmosphere.
Lukas Krondorf — Google review
The glass structure is nice to look at from outside. But not worth it to go inside. There are some ruins of old building so unless you are a historian or an archeologist it's not really worth it to pay to enter.
The second building has more to see but it is also a typical Norwegian museum which if you have seen one, you have seen all.

Friendly staff. I was truly amazed how beautiful this place is.

What an incredible place is! A mixture of nature and museum that people can walk, relax, run and do family activities in summertime.
I forgot my backpack on the train, and phoned the help desk. A very kind person immediately could help me, and arranged that my backpack came back 30 min later at the same station. I have never seen this in my life, thank you and excellent service!

Flytoget is a large scale scam. It's a privately owned company not affiliated with the actual railway company 'Vy'.
Flytoget tickets cost 210 NOK for a 19 min train ride. A regular Vy train ticket to the airport costs 114 NOK for a 23 min train ride with 1 stop in between.
Flytoget trains leave approximately every 10 minutes while the regular Vy trains leave every 15-20 minutes.
You can buy regular Vy tickets in train stations, 7-Eleven's, Deli de Luca's and similar shops.
Unless you think a 4 minutes faster train ride is worth paying double of the standard price, do not fall for this.
Steven Robberecht — Google review
Ernesto (flytogey employee) was the nicest person that I met in Norway. He helped us in everything we needed.
Juan Jos? Tovar Rocamora — Google review
HORRIBLE!!!
I bought the tickets to go and come. On my way back, they simply canceled the trains, there was nothing written in the station.
I had to get a cab otherwise I would miss my flight.
Now they blame me because there was a buss going from another station (not the one I was departing from and had the tickets already), and I did not get it!
Avoid it if you can! :(

This was amazing travel from Oslo Airport to Oslo Central Station - I am railway enthusiast from Poland and found this travel emotional and extremely interesting, especially because of high speed - 210 km per hour. Journey to Oslo Central Station lasts exactly 22 minutes! I am also very grateful for the highest quality of services of train crew, so as supporting staff of Flytoget at both stations. They are ready to answer all questions, also from railway enthusiasts:), like me. Flytoget high speed trains go every 10 minutes, and it makes this way of travelling not only the most time-saving, but extremely interesting. I am very sensitive on safety procedures, and I found these applied at Flytojet as the most restrictive, which makes passengers' journey safe, quiet and comfortable. At each pair of seats in the train everybody could read safety instructions, written both in Norwegian and English, in very simple way (with drawing of train scheme). It is only one sheet of thick paper, but information are written on both pages, in very quick way. Electric sockets are double in every two seats, so there is no issue to use it for our electrical appliances. It was great pleasure to use Flytoget high speed trains during my visit to Oslo. I recommend this highest quality services not only to travel enthusiasts, but all passengers who are interested in the best and time-saving way of travelling. Thank you Flytoget team for your excellent job! See you next time!
Magdalena Pokrzycka-Walczak — Google review
Unfortunately my experience with Flytoget wasn’t pleasant. 10:20 AM a normal working day: OSL airport, enormous mount of people at the platform rushing inside the train, took every possible place within a few seconds. It was hot inside despite of late September. Naturally, all windows closed tightly with exclamation mark, like in all modern trains, just in case of, God forbid, working AC. I nearly fainted standing more than 30 minutes. Train’s capacity by far too low, lots of people crowded with no place to sit!
Kumpelski Jeden — Google review
Well designed, efficient transport from OSL to the city center. Clean, well managed, frequent. Only annoyance is when they take it out of service, then you are put on traditional buses which are slower, packed, and far less pleasant, despite being also clean, modern, etc.
John Ingram — Google review
I tried the contact less machine, no sign on my phone ! I thought it’s not working then I bought physical ticket. and suddenly after coming home, I find out I paid twice 😪
Emna Ayadi — Google review
Took it round trip from the airport to the national theatre. Relatively expensive but you can’t beat it, $87 total for a round trip for two people. On the way to Oslo we had the train to ourselves, however, on the way back it was packed (730 am) so make sure to get to your train time slightly early to secure a seat. Even at the national theatre the seats were slim pickings so at the last stop (central station) before the airport most had to stand. Also, our train stop was conveniently close to our hotel so we only had to walk about 6 minutes with our suitcases.
Jordan Gonzalez — Google review
It's very regular - every ten minutes, even past midnight. Trains are clean. Does exactly as advertised. It's very, very expensive however - twice the price of the VY commuter train, which takes the same amount of time from the city to the airport. If travelling to/from the airport during the day then I recommend taking the commuter train, which costs 11 NOK instead of the 22 NOK that the Flytoget train charges.

Very clean public fitness center which has indoor swimming pools with water slides, steaming room, sauna, café, gym, eating area serving pizza, burger, fries, drinks, ice cream etc. Very friendly and help staff. All areas are very clean and tidy. No bad scent and well kept place and good place for family and friends friend weekend visit. There are also available 3 hours and 1 day free parking places with permit card right around the place.

Great place to spend time with family and friends. Clean water, tidy place and neat everywhere. More than 5 separate pools for different ages and activities. Jacuzzi and sauna also present. With Bigger slides for adults and smaller slides for kids. Parking, Cafeteria, advanced locker and shower area, they do sell swim suit, cap, Goggles and flipflops. But less staffs and unable to contact them at ease. Overall excellent place.
Raji Baskar — Google review
Very nice place for the whole family, food is not the best but it's not a restaurant so it's not a problem. Pools are clean enough, lockers work, showers are okay, plenty of room and even though it was full there are places to chill and relax. Didn't try the jacuzzi since it was always over capacity and I do not enjoy a human soup, stayed around 3 hours and my 4 year old enjoyed every second of it.
Ivan Mendizabal — Google review
The price is way too high for the quality. Everything is rusty or not working like the jumping board. You can't adjust them. Not a single one is working, and the water is very murky. Hygiene omg it's not there.
Mohamad — Google review
Great place to visit with families, swing, eat, relax, spa. Much fun for the kids. Nice service. Like the new lock system. No need to bring own lock. You might have problems if you forgot something and need to exit building due to the new lock. But not a problem. The price is a bit high for a family to visit, unfortunately. Go a bit later to avoid crowded guests. Will be back☺ hope they will set the price lower for families.
Nhan A — Google review
I was disappointed to visit this swimming pool. The whole complex looks rather old, not modern at all, starting with lockers and showers, to the three tube-slides and the pool itself, with not very clean and clear water, no tiles on the walls or bottom of the pool. Lots of children visiting the pool (main one, unfortunately) and jumping into it from the springboards and the diving tower, making a lot of noise and blocking all lanes but ONE for those who want to swim. After kids are gone, still only two lanes are available for swimming. The two saunas (one dry and one damp) do work, but again, are old-fashioned and not really pleasant to visit. There is a nice warm-water small pool and a Jacuzzi outdoors, worth recommending, though.

Røros Church, also known as Roros kirke in Norwegian, is a significant landmark in the town of Røros, Norway. It replaced an older church and is made of stone, a rarity for its time. With seating for 1,600 people, it's one of Norway's largest churches and holds historical importance as one of the country's top ten churches. The church overlooks the town and bears the inscription "To God's Glory and the Mining Town's beauty.
60 kr nok for entry per adult. Children free.
The church has three floors and is well maintained. Nothing spectacular but worth a visit to support the maintenance and see a bit of the cultural heritage of Røros.
There is no line here.
Try to figure out if there is a concert here. The sound is good here.

Give this church a miss. The entry fee 60NOK and opens at 11 am. The outer facade is pleasant enough. I love visiting old churches so went in with high hopes. Was very disappointed with the interior. It was very plain and nothing unique or notable.

Over the entrance to the church a sign says "Til Guds Ære og Bergstadens Ziir" which means "to God's Glory and the Mining Town’s beauty”. Bergstaden Røros had become wealthy and grown considerably, and there was no lack of self-esteem. Visit the church and visit one of two of the mines around town!
Of course I was pleased to see that the modern (protestant) Church of Norway and its priests have no problem with gay weddings. Good on you!

An attractive church that seems to be a focal point for the town as it is on a small mound that makes it seen amongst all the old buildings

Roros parish church is an octagonal stone church built in 1784. The ornate peculiar interior is worth a visit. Anyway is a landmark building that must be visited when passing from Roros.
ANASTASIOS TSAGKLAS — Google review
The recently renovated church is a gem, and the local guide was very knowledgeable. It is even possible to go upstairs and admire the beautiful interior from above. I also did not know that the church was used in the first general election in 1814. Lots to learn and admire here.

(Norwegian: Røros kirke) is a parish church in Røros municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Located in the town of Røros, it is the main church for the Røros parish which is part of the Gauldal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The church seats about 1,600 people, making it the 5th largest church within the Church of Norway. It is also ranked by Riksantikvaren as one of the ten most important churches in Norway.

Visitors can witness intricate working models demonstrating the historical water- and horse-powered smelting processes. Live copper smelting demonstrations are held daily in July and August at 3pm. The museum offers guided tours around the village and provides information about nearby mines for those interested in mining history.
Fantastic smallish museum with an excellent set up. Especially all the small wooden models are exceptional. They are done with love and dedication. A big applause to the creator!!

If you like history. If you want to understand some of the underlying lines in old Norwegian sosial struktures. Understanding how much work that had to be done to manage to mine just one kilograme of Copper. And how many tons of wood that had to be cut....How many hours of laybour from humans and horses. Then this is a place to spend some hours in Røros. Nice guided tour can be bought.😃

The exhibition about the copper works is fantastic! The miniatures are detailed and suck you right in. Most of the written information is only in Norwegian however the audio tour is amazing and more than makes up for the lack of written information. The exhibitions about local dance and clothes seem lackluster in comparison but that might also be personal preference. Highly recommend a visit!

Fantastic, my home country's history really moved me. The staff were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Amazing art. And the models of the equipment for the smelting and mining were so realistic in the 1-10th scale. It helped me understand more of my home country's struggle and the path to overcome the obstacles that eventually led my home country to the pinnacle of success and prosperity that we enjoy today.

The dioramas are very, very cool, and the information about the mining industry is Røros is fascinating. Being inside did give me a bit of a headache, but that's probably a natural consequence of being a museum literally built inside an old smeltworks. The gift shop had a lot of interesting items for sale, although I didn't personally make any purchases.

Facinating museum, which are featuring a lot of historical aspects on how the mines and its productions has aided in the towns value and importance throughout history. It also features 3 floors of historical facts, a video and also featuring cloths from its generation, preserved from old days. Great visit.

Great ski resort with reasonably large amount of lifts and slopes. One of the largest in Norway. Good kid friendly /lifts/slopes at the bottom. Additionally some nice cafeterias to have lunch in between runs. Also located at a place where there's usually good snow conditions.
Jostein Brandshoi — Google review
Small resort compared to some European resorts but has its merits. Norway is very expensive so be prepared but everything works well and runs smoothly. Although it was a real pain trying to get ski passes on the App as they had a power cut. There is a ski bus but it's not that often. If you don't ski or get injured be warned that there is nothing to do here except ski or bike. Recommended

This resort is outdated. The lifts are from the Soviet time and when it get windy the new lift does not work. It look like the owners are just using it to make more money without any maintenance. This is such a shame for one of the richest country in Europe

Beds where very soft.
Views during skiing where amazing especially when Sun started setting. Heating was good. Supermarket and the tracks where nearby.
Kids areas where good for practice and instructors where nice

really nice place, sad that there was not much snow this year, but they had snow canons running 24/7 to help it. Sadly our stay was not without frustration, as our hole party of 9 ended up paying way to much for lift cards, as they did not help calculate the cheapest option for 5 + half a day, and we all ended up paying for 6-8days. When confronted with this a refund of the overpaid amount was denied.
In short nice place to ski, be aware you have to find the best deal, as they will not help you, and will absolutely charge you for as much as possible.
Fulufjället National Park, located in the northwest of Dalarna county, is a newly designated park known for its vast lichen-covered landscapes and as the home of Old Tjikko, one of the world's oldest trees. remember to get good shoes and warm sleeping bags as it will get very cold in summer nights as well!

It’s a nice park with the waterfall as the absolute highlight. There more hikes to do though, which seem to be maintained very well pathwise but it’s not easy to follow the signs. All the paths have the same orange tag to follow, eventhough there are several hikes with different colours to do - this makes it confusing when you’re trying to stick to a certain path/hike. Nonetheless it’s a beautiful park with enough to experience, but the real reason to come here will still be the waterfall.
Tanja Swinkels — Google review
Beautiful area for a mountain hike. The park has a lot of rocks, plants, and berries. There are several stugas in the park for resting or sleeping. It's quite enjoyable for a day hike or a weekend hike.

Beautiful place, the walkways need a little bit of TLC in some places but that paths were properly marked. The waterfall was definitely worth it. I recommend talking to someone in Naturum before heading out just to make sure you get the right info on how challenging the different paths are.
Veronica Levén — Google review
Very nice national park. Did a multiple day hike (4days) there and loved the views. Not a lot of wooded areas as you would expect in Sweden but a more alpine / arctic scenery with a lot of rocks, swampy / mossy areas wit a lot of lakes and desolate tundra like wide open spaces. No heavy hiking boots required but if you wear trail running shoes like I did, be prepared to get your feet wet! 😂
we expected to maybe see a glimpse of a moose or some deer or any of the other big creatures roaming the park but we kinda got disappointed as all we saw was birds, fish and the occasional squirrel. Oh yes and a lot of mosquitos next to the swamps and lakes! When we were there it was berry season so we ate a whole lot of delicious cloudberries and blueberries!
One more thing, be prepared for sudden temperature and weather changes as it can snow during summer. We were trapped in our tent during a massive thunderstorm on our first night but managed to keep dry and warm thanks to our good tent but as we noticed the next day when we walked passed a collapsed tent full of water (sleeping bag and pads still in there soaked!) not everyone was so lucky. ( we contacted the information center about what we found and they informed us that mountain rescue had to go out and get them of the mountain in the early morning as they got lost looking for their way back to the information center soaked and cold) so don’t say I didn’t warn you! 😉
One thing I forgot, there are shelters all over the place to warm up and dry out if needed so that’s really nice. Also there are a couple of them where you can stay the night but on a first come first served basis I believe.
Overall really worth the trip!

Awesome views and trekking paths.. Unfortunately a route was closed for repairs when I was there. But didn't seem like we were at a loss. The rest of the paths and views more than made up for it.

A great place area for skiing. Best for families, or beginners. Quite a long car ride from Denmark, but surely worth the trip. I’ve been here many times as a kid, and just returned this year. Still great!

A nice ski place with all lifts working as of Dec 2020. Some pissts are closed due to less crowd and less snow. But most fun ones are open. Artificial snow machine in full swing most of the time. Warm place with toilet and microwave oven present.

In a nutshell, this place is why I love Sweden. We had a ski course booked for the kids but mixed up start- and end time. While I was stressing out about it, the team at Idre Fjäll was super cool about it and simply moved us two hours without any extra cost. Later on, we tried to return the equipment, but Skicenter Syd was already closed at 4:15pm, which was a bit of a problem because we stayed in Grövelsjön. We asked at ICA Nära if we could leave the equipment with them, and while they were not super happy about it, they said it was fine in the end! Kudos to the entire team at Idre Fjäll, you guys are the best. See you soon.

There is a general lack of maintenance. The kids activities with the reindeer are very bad, and in very strange location, you can tell the low effort if you compare with other ski centers from Sweden, like Sälen. You will spend 25% of your time "skating" to lifts or ski slopes, since the location of the lifts are horribly thought. Other 30% waiting for lifts or using pomalifts. The nicest part is that the houses are between slopes so you can practically go out skiing

I falled in the love with get involved with the mountain forest. Amazing views and experiences everywhere. So many cool options and activities to enjoy. Nice supermarket, winter clothes shop and different restaurants. Accommodation for all tastes and needs.

A very family friendly ski resort. There are a good versions in slopes, from almost flat to support steep. It's big enough to accommodate for lots of guests.
The downside are the quite old cabins, the restaurants are expensive, the food in the restaurants are not very fresh.
Stefan Jernberg — Google review
Good place for skiing with long slopes. Downside is that it was quite windy and snowing and chair lifts dont have cover so it was quite cold when reaching the top.
Carlos Sanchez — Google review
Actually quite good. Also a good surprise, although I expected a bit of standard (as in Åre - total disappointment, but unlike Branäs - totally a good surprise there). The view from the top is breathtaking, a real feel of infinite horizon perspective different from the majestic vertical Alps. Will return, just a little bit too far from Stockholm. Good service, “ok” expensive, nice ski slopes. Just a little boring with a snowboard though, with many plateau on which snowboarders will struggle quite a lot. Off-slope skiing is possible though limited (if you’re used to the Alps).
A beautiful but icy experience. We were allowed to feed and pet the reindeer. The owner took into account the low temperature and shortened the tour for that reason.

Furthermore the guide was awesome. He was explaining and talking with so much charme, fun and enthusiasm that it was very easy and entertaining to listen to him for some time! Thank you James, stay awesome!

We visit the moose farm on a regular basis with guests, friends and family. And every time we learn something new. Never boring. James, one of the the owners, is a driven and enthusiastic guide who tells with passion about the moose’s behaviour.
We really love to come here. And can absolute recommend to everyone!

This is the second time I visit a moose park, the first one was in Smålandshavet and I can say that I don't remember any of that. This time I will remember because the guide was really good explaining everything about this beautiful animal. He spoke very clearly English. I learnt a lot about moose because of the tour that was almost two hours. I highly recommend to visit this place.

Small park but with beautiful mooses. The owner of the park is very friendly and a non stop speaking encyclopedia but you will not get bored. The tour was in English and the way he talked about mooses, you will not get bored. Very entertaining and the most awaited part of the visit, touching and feeding the beautiful giants.. words cannot describe the feeling. Definitely worth a visit.

This is an absolute must-do experience! My elderly neighbor has had a lifelong dream to pet a moose & today that dream became a reality. The experience was absolutely incredible & I’m so grateful to Per & his family for enabling us to partake in this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Per is an extremely knowledgeable tour guide & clearly has a passion for moose — he’s not just reciting a memorized speech, but rather engaging with his audience & answering questions in an incredibly genuine manner. My neighbor is a wheelchair user & it wasn’t exactly easy to navigate the property, but with a little determination & elbow grease it was absolutely possible & so very worthwhile. We can’t thank you enough, & I can’t recommend Värmlands Moose Park highly enough to any & all visitors!

One of a kind place where you get to touch the king of Swedish forests. While you get to meet the moose, you get to learn about them as well. I have visited here several times in the different seasons. Find out more on my website!

The whole Team was so nice and explained us everything about Moose, their lives and why they live in this Moose park. Eventhough my grandparents an I were the only visitors, they did the whole tour with us and even gave me the possibility to feed the Moose. We've had an amazing tour with James. His passion for the moose is lovely to see. He gave us so much information about those incredible animals. We're hoping to see them in there natural environment some day and think about all the things we've learned today. We've falling in love with all 5 moose and will visiting them again next year. Thanks a lot and much love from the Netherlands!
A network of slopes & lifts on 2 different mountains, with winter sports & a children's area.
Good variety of slopes which suites most tastes of downhill skiing. Family oriented and calm place. Also good cross country skiing with connecting tracks to Björnrike and Klövsjö.

Great Swedish ski resort and not to touristic. You can even see reindeers if you're lucky, can't wait for the planned expansions to make this even better.
It's not Åre but the slopes are really nice!

Nice place to spend time with family. Even if I'm over 40s I was still feeling like a kid there , enjoying every moment with my little girl and my son. Highly recommend this place, especially in the winter.

Nice themepark for small kids. Very good actors and singers. The shows are very nice even if they are in Swedish. The park is not that big though and there are no activities like rollercoasters or other. If you have smaller children, they will love it.

The food in the restaurant is good and well cooked. Nothing to complain about! If yoy visit sweden in the winter, this is the place to be. Also in summer they have activitys with fairys and other creatures. I love this place and my son was so happy after the visit with santa.

Do not expect a large scale theme park with high capital rollercoaster or attractions like that.. There are, for sure, lots of fun things to do for children. The parks greatness, however, comes from it's actors and actresses, and the costumes they are wearing! I do not even understand Swedish, and still I was mesmorized by the stories they brought to life. My children loved it!! The stories are enhanced by being able to visit the characters homes, and even meet up and talk with them. My favorite was the house of the Witch. And ofcourse the house of Santa Claus is great! All in all, a visit to " Tomte Land" will be rewarded by a truly unique experience that is fun, positive, and beautiful!!

Very nice to be with children. Performances in the middle of the forest with fairy tales that are connected despite different sketches. This place is open all year. Just remember to dress yourself after the Swedish winter climate if you come that time of the year!!
Andreas Flyborg — Google review
Nice landscape, good actors, amazing singers and committed stuff, but just as boring as it could be for the parents who don't have children under 10 years old. Expensive coffee. To complete full series if all events you'll need two days.
JustBlesser — Google review
Overall
Great place for kids to view some shows and interact with the actors before and after the shows.
Shows
Pretty short, approx 15 minute. You have to know Swedish to understand the story. Sometimes a bit repetitive when all of them contain some reference to the "Tomte kraft". The acting and singing is good, and the kids found the story intriguing. If your kids are easily scared some of the plays are a bit too much. In a few theaters there are now benches. Often it is possible for the kids to talk and interact with the actors after the play.
Food
Brought food since I've read that it was expensive. Took a photo of the fika menu and uploaded it here.
Environment
Everything is placed in the forest with is left as untouched as they possibly could while still building a theme park.
Parking
There is a big parking lot close to the entrance. Shouldn't be a problem to find a spot and it's free.
Other
For us one day was enough to see most of the park
Marcus Höjvall — Google review
A "must" place if your kids are 3 - 10 years old and you are on the way to the Swedish mountains or just sightseeing Dalarna. Park is divided into few thematical parts, where both boys and girls should find something interesting. I look forward to coming there during the winter time. I've been to Kolmården, Astrid Lindgrens Värld and High Chaparral as well. Tomtelandet is smaller than each of them but definitely worth reserving one day during your vacation. I recommend.
Bartłomiej Czerwiński — Google review
Fantastiskt theme park for small kids! A lot of performances with stories in the Nordic forest: fairies and trolls, dragons and witches. They also engaged environmental education within the storied such as "not throwing trash in the nature"! The park is relatively big but it's no problem to walk through with a 4 year old by foot. Younger ones needs stroller. Resteraunt for food and snacks stands are placed in the middle of the park which is perfect for mid-day rest. I would suggest a whole family trip to the park for 1 full day.
Orsa Grönklitt Björnpark is Europe's largest predator park located 16km north of Orsa, housing a variety of animals including polar bears, Kodiak bears, leopards, Amur tigers, lynx, wolves, red foxes and wolverines. The star attraction at the park are the fat-bottomed roly-poly bear cubs.
Very beautifully situated park with wild animals
The park includes many large enclosures where the animals can feel at home. Nevertheless, you can experience boars, bears and others up close.
The staff is friendly and we were able to learn interesting facts about the animals and their behaviour through their feedings. It was also noticeable that the animal keepers care deeply about their work with their animals.
Highly recommended and very unique.

Nice Park, not that large and sometimes you need the feeding times to better see the animals. There are a few watch points from above to have a better view. Good to see the animals in their natural environment.

We really enjoyed visiting Orsa park very much. This is unfortunate that they’re about to close this park. I was fascinated by seeing a polar Bear. If you're not into Zoo don't go. If you are, this would be one of the better zoo's you'll ever visit. Feeding moments were cancelled due to Corona, but we the animals have to be fed regardless and we were lucky enough to be there for one of those moments.

Because of Corona the feeding moments were cancelled.
A lot of information isn't translated in English, so as a tourist you loose a lot of information.

It was great experience to spend Christmas Day visiting this zoo,not so many crowds, but the animals are really active. Staff literally send gift boxes to the polar bear family,we saw the bears open their gift boxes and enjoy the snacks inside, full of joy. Tigers making love in snow😅,leopards doing patrol, wolves having family meeting… very wild, very fun!We almost view everyone except lynx, they are too shy.

Very nice. Positively surprised over this! Much walking, so be preparerd on that. A warm and sunny day the animal might be difficult to see since they hide in the shadow. But we saw many even though, especially bears.
Jamtli is a museum dedicated to local history, showcasing the culture and way of life from the Viking era to native craftsmanship. Divided into two parts, an indoor and an open-air museum with reconstructed wooden buildings, enthusiastic guides in 19th-century period costume add authenticity to visitors' experience. The museum houses significant exhibits such as Europe's oldest Overhogdal Tapestries dating back to AD 1100 that feature Christian Viking relics displaying animals, people, ships and dwellings.
The English audio guide was very helpful. Lots of interesting exhibits. We spent 4 hours there. Anything that isn't covered by the Audi guide you can just look up with your phone

However, the open air museum was totally closed. We were a bit disappointed we weren't told it was closed at the ticket counter.

Situated right within the open-air museum of Jamtli and a few hundred meters from Lake Storsjön this is an excellent place to stay if you want to explore Östersund and counties Jämtland and Härjedalen.
The friendly manager Kina helps create a warm atmosphere enhanced by the traditional decor and attention to details in the rooms and in the kitchen which give the place a "homely" feel. The beds are comfortable and the rooms and common areas are clean and tidy. I recommend it heartily.

For kids who speak Swedish a fun museum I imagine. The downstairs area is interesting but completely in Swedish, an app they have available has translations but only partly. Not all features available in Swedish are available in English or German. The national museum partly has English information alongside Swedish. If you enjoy looking at your phone just as much as looking at the exhibits this might be for you.

As someone who doesn't speak Swedish and doesn’t have kids, it wasn’t worth the 170 SEK. Glad we didn’t pay for the outside part, I assume that’s also fully Swedish. The National Museum was nice though, since that had English translation.

We really liked this museum, its a lot of fun, for sure with kids. We really liked the outside area and all the People are Dressed in old clothes and stay in character all the time. Its a nice way to learn more about the history of sweden and to see how they used to live. Also the inside area was very nice decorated. The one thing they could do better is make the signs also in english, most of them where only in swedisch.

The museum was closing an hoor and a half before closing time. So there were only old buildings. Conveniently the attractions we had to pay extra for were open for business. Not worth the drive!
Peter Graulus — Google review
Not worth the money. About €29 entrance fee. All explanations are in Swedish and no subtitles.
The free support app they offer in different languages doesn't seem to work very well.

Me and my friend visited Somarland on Sunday(25th July). It was tragedy! There were about 20-minute queues to each attraction. In the deepest swimming pool were too many people. It was even dangerous and anyone paid attention to safety rules. I really understand that on weekends there are more people than during the week but it should be a people limit not only because of coronavirus but also a security and comfort. Tickets weren’t cheap but we were forced to leave this place after an hour. Definitely, I don’t recommend!

Horrible experience, there were swedish guys playing loud music at 4am meanwhile being naked. Security did not arrive. Got a noise complaint from the reception for playing foreign language music at 8pm meanwhile this wasn’t the case for the guys who were blasting music with large speakers while naked. Next day the same thing happened but at 6pm when we woke up with the same guys sticking their head into our open window shouting. When we contacted the reception they told us to go back to sleep and no consequences were faced towards the guys.

Great place. We took one cabin with bathroom and we had a very nice view to the lake. Everything was clean and comfortable. Came to Leksand by train and walked from the station to the resort. Kids were very happy and enjoyed 2 days in Sommarland.
Kleber G — Google review
Not good security service at all plus a quite poor area management in terms of controlling people not to disturb others by their loud music or shouts at the middle of the night.
Also they do not have clear regulations for playing loud music during the day. For example if someone doesn’t feel well with your music (at day time) then if they call the security, the security will come to ask you to lower down your music volume which is not meaningful at all.
Everyone has right to play music and perform his/her own lifestyle during the day and no body should be able to convince the security to come and lower down the music. They should know that there are different kinds of vibes there so all of them should bear with each other.

Limestone quarry & lake setting for high profile gigs with seating for over 4,000 people.
A very scenic open air location for almost all kind of performances. The acoustics are just great and when it gets dark the atmosphere together with a professional light show is amazing. Seats are comfortable, but check the weather for eventual raindrops as it is outdoors. A blanket could be good to bring if you visit a concert at the end of the season.
Ahzek Ahriman — Google review
A great concert place, well organised parking places. It can be cold, be prepared! But Dalhalla was difficult to reach because of the traditional old car event in Rättvik. Small roads to get there.
Ingrida Drukteinyte — Google review
A must visit in Sweden. An unique "concert hall" surrounded by cliffs for an outstanding acoustic. Be prepared to book in advance since many shows will be sold out.
Also, bring something warm since the seats are outside without any shelter. It will sometimes be cold even during summer nights.
It will most likely be an exceptional memory for life! ✨

A very unique outdoor concert hall in a old open pit mine. Comfortable seats for a venue like this and the reverberation from the music is difficult to describe. Is a bit of a walk down but they do offer coaches and assistance if you are in need. There's a designated space for wheelchairs that is in the main audience, and not to the side. Parking is limited and getting in and out can easily take an hour or more. The do offer busses from various locations in Dalarna, which I recommend if you don't have local road knowledge. Last consert I saw Gyllene Tider (pop band).

The food trucks also offered really tasty food even tho it was a bit pricey.
Will return for sure!

Beautiful venue. Unfortunately the bars are below all expectations and their offering/quality does not match that of the venue in itself. It’s something you’d find in a cheap cinema at best. As tickets price are very high one would expect to be able to purchase drinkable beer and cocktails.
Furthermore they did not have enough security staff to ensure that people did not cross sections hence the whole experience was destroyed for people who paid for premium seats.

Saw Herbie Hancock live about a month ago which was a truly amazing experience Venue is in an old quarry surrounded by forest, animals, a lake on which the stage it set up on.
Foodtrucks are available, anything from wraps and sandwiches to Smash Burgers and Texan BBQ.
Food and drinks is a tad on the pricier side, 50cl 5.3% Pilsner Urquell beer for 109 SEK, which isnt a bad beer but not worth the price. Burgers aren't too expensive considering what you get. For example a Burger menu (burger with cheese, bacon, caramellised onion+ fries and drink) costs around 150 SEK. Ingredients are of good quality.
Of course one isnt here for the food but for the Music, which in my case was amazing!

First of all where do I start?
I had a fantastic stay at the Wolf Hotel. From start to finish it was amazing! An unforgettable experience.
Everybody was so kind from Jensen to Karin, and all the other staff I had the pleasure of meeting, thank you!
Breakfast in the other hotel everyday was really yummy. It had everything you could want! I even ate there in the evening, it was delicious.
Now for the hotel... I heard the wolves howling as soon as I walked in 😂.The room was super spacious, warm and very comfortable. I had everything I needed.
The little kitchenette upstairs was very well equipped and clean. The whole property for cleanliness I would rate 10/10.
I did venture into the zoo at night a little bit, it was snowing when I went and the whole atmosphere was magical. I saw all the animals!! (except the bears of course)
The animals were so friendly and came up close so I was able to see the them all!
The wolverines I think we're my FAVOURITE. I had never seen one before and they were so interactive and fun! Each animal was of course gorgeous! It was amazing to see them all.
The wolves you can tell are so well looked after, from the fur to the size of them. I have been to other zoos in UK where they look thin and unhappy but not at Järvzoo. Each time I went past the wolf pen they came out and were very interested.
The whole park is beautiful. I went at the start of November and I am so glad I did. There are so many things to discover. The town is very nice to walk around, the buildings are very quaint. I definitely fell in love with Sweden especially Järvzoo. I cannot wait to come back and hopefully soon!

Good place to see animals. Went here during winter season and seen almost all animals. Only the bear we have missed. Thinking about going back when the weather is a bit warm. When we were there it feels like it was -20 degrees even it’s only -14 because it’s located beside the ski resort and the humid is so strong.

Nice little zoo with nordic animals. Easy to see them as well as they seem to have spacious areas. Only two places that serves food though, plan your eating at least if you have smaller kids.
The food app is ok, but you can skip that and order by the counter as well. At least when we was here they hade more options by the counter than in the app 😳

The best zoo I have visited. The animals have huge areas that really resemble their home habits and they are very lively and cheeky. It was much, much better than I expected and one of the best things we did all week in Järvsö. We visited the zoo on a Wednesday. There weren't a lot of people so we had great views of all the the animals.
The website states "There are plenty of rest areas throughout the park where you can take a break if needed." As a disabled person who can walk but needs frequent breaks (especially when going up and down a hill) the "plenty" is severely overrated, there were only 2 or 3 areas where I could sit and rest...

A nice quaint little zoo, but it feels more of an afterthought for the area. The restaurant was closed as it was ‘out of season’ however there were a number of groups there and they would have made quite some money.
The enclosures, whilst obviously safe, are looking their age and need a considerable upgrade.
The boardwalk is good, but also could use some TLC in some areas.
D Herbert — Google review
A cold, icy day is likely not an ideal day for a visit. After walking for 2 hours around the enclosures, with some patience, waiting and carefully scrutinizing each enclosure, we managed to see sleeping artic foxes, a little of playful lynx, moose that were grazing, resting muskox, goats, reindeer, owl and from afar, a glimpse of a wolf, a wolverine and an eagle. There were a number of owl enclosures and species. They are more easy to spot in the wintry landscape compared to other animals. The zoo also has a couple of outdoor picnic / bbq areas, a small indoor museum and souvenir shop.

Järvzoo is a fantastic Nordic zoo set in a beautiful forest in the heart of Sweden. The sweeping boardwalk makes the experience much more natural as if you’re peering down into the habitat of animals in the wild. One thing to note is that some of the main attractions such as the bears will be hibernating during the colder winter months so make sure to plan your trip depending on what you’re hoping to see.
Charming place.
We stayed in the local community hotel when doing our tour of Sweden for our honeymoon.
We were greeted with a Christmass market which we promptly visited while exploring the town.

Small, crowded decent waffles but oh so cozy! Almost always open. And during the winter it is a must if you are here visiting. Really friendly staff and great service. They serve other stuff other than waffles I have never tried anything else.
5-star experience! After roaming around at the fortress last month we had lunch at the restaurant where I asked if they served Swedish Meatballs (this was off menu). The friendly waitress informed us that would be no problem and immediately requested the chef to make a *delicious* dish of Swedish meatballs with potato mousse - free of charge!! It is without a doubt that we will return and introduce our guests to the fortress and welcoming restaurant.

Hemsö Fästning is a good tourist destination with a fantastic guided tour and a fresh restaurant. The restaurant feels clean and there is an open climate in the dining room and there are clean toilets. The view are amazing and they have absolutely ok food there and there are reasonable prices.

Best view (by far), lunch buffet and prices in Sweden. Will come back!!

Its all about the view and the history about Hemsö färstning.
The restaurant is of good quality, looks and feel newly built. Get the "good table" close to the cannon and enjoy you meal, beer och glas of wine. Very friendly staff. Be prepared for bus-tours visiting, so from beeing completly empy the restaurant (and its toilets) can be full in mather of minutes. Great place, you should go.

The guided tour was fantastic, apart from an old worker from the base that kept interrupting our awesome tour guide and trying to take over the show, feel really sorry for our guide, we could tell he was losing the interest of speaking because of the old guy after a few stops.
The restaurant on the other hand , the buffet looked like a disgrace, sure if you want to pay 120kr for a salad buffet go ahead but me and the 6 others decided to drive an hour to find more appealing food, sorry guys but you need to pick up your game in the kitchen.

The restaurant was open airy with big windows facing the sea. When the weather is.good.you also have some tables outside to use.
Really good food and polite staff.
This is a lunch restaurant.
If you like military history and good food this is the place.

Value for money! The buffet is 120 SEK and is really good, very tasteful!! Perfect price model for kids as well, 10 SEK per years old.

Food was great but for the prices they charge you expect clean tables and your food bought out to the table.
Charming guesthouse featuring casual rooms with flat-screens, plus a BBQ area & Wi-Fi.
Nice tidy rooms. Very good value for money. Perfect place for one day biking trips. Close to ferry terminal to Ulvön. Surströmming fans and mineralogists hunting for ulvöspinel will be happy here! 😉

Fresh and functional. Also accepts animals for an extra cleaning fee. (Big plus)
Parking is available next door. Own shower and toilet. TV.

Guitars the Museum is a history museum that showcases an extensive collection of vintage electric guitars and paraphernalia. The impressive collection was amassed by two brothers over a lifetime, mostly through buying low and selling high. Visitors can view iconic guitars like the 1959 Les Paul Standard played by Keith Richards and the 1958 Gibson Flying V made famous by ZZ Top. Guided tours are available daily for those interested in learning more about the backstory behind this remarkable collection of guitars.
An absolut must for anyone slightly interested in guitars. The museum holds a very impressive collection of mainly vintage guitars, and more impressive still is the fact that it all has been collected by two brothers, mainly by buying low and selling high, always trading up. Make sure you catch one of the daily tours to get a bit of backstory an extra information.

5 stars is nowhere enough but it's all I can give. Phenomenal collection. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Talked for a good while with one of the brothers and the passion and insight was incredible. Visiting Umeå and not going here should be considered a crime 😃 2 hours was minimum for me. Thank you so much for this cultural heritage act of preserving these guitars, amps, etc

We had a wonderful experience at the Guitar Museum, the staff and guided tour were informative and welcoming. Perfect place for a afternoon trip to this museum of vivid collection of guitars from around the world. Located at city center near the bus stop. Join their guided tour (both in English and Swedish) to precisely know about the all stories connected with each guitar. Exciting to learn more about the Elvis Presley and other guitar legends.

Impressive museum. Guided tour was excellent to get the story behind the museum, the guitars and the brothers.
To improve it would be nice to hear sound samples by certain guitars. It would help to make the museum more interactive. Just an idea.

A must visit place if you love guitars. The brothers have an unique collection of the legendary masterpieaces of the 50’s and 60’s era, the born and the beginning of the electric guitars. There are some guitars you can see only here! They make a guided tour, on english too, it’s about 45 minutes. Totally worth it!

It´s absolutely worth it to come to Sweden just to see this museum!
Cannot really complain about anything, beach is close, there is tennis court, padel court, fat bike renting, adventure park Huikee, ice cream shop and a burger joint. More than I bargained for.
The cabins had air conditioning and decent equipment. Saunas were good. Bath barrel was good too. The upstairs sleeping are was very basic, but that is always the case in these cabins.
Jussi Päivinen — Google review
An okay campground, but a bit noisy at night. Also, it was weird that while their website states their reception is open until 24, they actually closed at 11. I had to take care of some stuff after that, and was greeted with some classic Finnish unfriendliness calling my business “ihme säätö” :D
Tuomas Mäki — Google review
Value for price does not match. Cabin was desent, but there is no owen, washing machine, drying cabinet. No wi-fi. Those should be standard equipment for so valued area. Also grill is available for extra price 40 euros which also should be included for rent like most of the cabins are.
Marko Vehmanen — Google review
We stayed in one of the smallest cabins, which was cozy and nice, a bit hot though as we could not keep the door open due to a bee problem throughout the camping grounds.
Althought the cabin was nice, the services in the accomodation area seem to be a bit lacking. Not sure if it was the reason that we stayed during August, which is the start of off season, or is it like this all year round. The restaurant Dyyni was not open, when it was said to be open, the grill place was filled with bees, as other guests had left trash out and filled the coal bin with trashes too.. All in all, it felt like the staff had already given up on taking care of the area.

I'm so grateful for this time we had together and I'm looking forward to more family adventures in the future.

Has something to offer for everyone, even very small slides for our 2 year old child. Temperature is good (water and air) so that you feel comfortable even for longer stays. Showers were very clean. Easily accessible via car and enough parking spaces available. A bit expensive but still ok.

Amazing cute little park.
With a small company of theme park enthusiasts we visited PowerPark. The park was not too busy, even with the Power truck festival next door.
The park surprised us for their unique collection of amusement rides and some cool roller coasters.
We bought a wristband and the price was worth it!
Would visit again!

Nowhere before the gate it was mentioned that no dogs allowed - they even allowed us to buy tickets with a dog! Only at the gate was the access denied. Well, it looked nice, teenagers had fun and we paid 7€ for two for the fun of sitting outside the gates for a day.

Nice amusement park with good range of rides for all ages. Plenty of food choices too. Only surprising thing was the whole park closes promptly! No chance to buy sweets or candyfloss for the drive home. Also ticket booths were closed, so no chance to get a cheap ticket for day 2. Accommodation was nice and clean too, and even had a sauna (Silverstone 4 for us)

Full of stuff that should not be sold and cant be sold legally, but for some reason they get away with it. Customer service was subpar, some of the customers seemed to be happy about the fact that they might be able to read a whole sentence, the products were low quality and many of them were so cringeworthy.
I thought that the stories and TV shows were just BS... Until I saw it myself. Please, dont go in there, dont support the business.

Huge place with just about everything you can imagine. I just wondered why the very highest quality items seemed to ve missing from the lineup. Only quite good, not the most expensive or best. It may be that we just couldn’t find the best stuff as the store is seriously huge and we only spent a couple hours in it.

Located in the Pyynikki district of Tampere, the Pyynikki Coffee Shop & Observation Tower is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The small cafe, nestled in the old observation tower, is renowned for its freshly baked and delicious doughnuts that are a hit on social media. Visitors can also enjoy locally roasted coffee from Tampereen Paahtimo while taking in the stunning panoramic views from the 26-meter lookout tower atop Pyynikki hill.
Place is historical and so warm. Observation tower visiting is 2 euros. Elevator usage is eligible. Prices are not expensive, as I remember coffee was 3 euros around. And there is a "munkki" in the place, it's dessert. That's was pretty good. You need to visit this place if you come to Tampere!

Nice walk through the woods to reach this Tampere gem.
Great views of Tampere, the lakes, and the forests that spread into the distance.
Only 2 Euros to go up the tower by lift or walk. At the top, take the ladder out to the outside observation area.
Once finished, enjoy a fresh coffee and cake/doughnut in the little cafe.

Some tourist brochures available downstairs too. A must see

Tiny cafe in Pyynikki Tower with long queues and the best donuts in whole Finland. If you want to visit the tower, there is never a queue. So you can pass that long line and go right up to tower. But if you want to taste those amazing donuts, prepare to wait. It’s worth for it.

It's a tiny place a little outside of Tampere city center, but definitely worth visiting. The donuts are famous and rightfully so called the best. They are bouncy and the cardamom gives it that warmth. Don't be scared of the sugar on top, it's not too sweet. I think everyone should make a little detour from Tampere to eat these

My friend from Tampere introduced me to this place. I've visited Tampere many times before, but this was my first opportunity to come here and try these renowned donuts. I truly feel like coming here was the right decision. The donuts are incredibly delicious, not overly sweet and delightfully soft. Inside the café, the enticing aroma of freshly baked donuts fills the air. The small, cozy ambiance is delightful. They offer seating both indoors and outdoors, surrounded by a beautiful environment that blends seamlessly with nature and fresh air. The best part is arriving here on a chilly day, taking in the panoramic view of Tampere city from above, enjoying a piece of donut, and sipping a cup of aromatic coffee or hot chocolate. Indulging in donuts and tea here makes me feel like life slows down, and I'm harmonizing with the beautiful nature of Tampere. I genuinely adore this place and am certain I'll return on my next visit to Tampere.
P.s: I devoured the entire donut right after snapping this first photo. Regrettably, I ate it all without capturing a single picture of this incredibly delicious donut.

Without a doubt, this shop is a good one to spend your time eating sweets Munkki! The flavor is different from other Munkki that existed in Tampere as my reference. Family friendly, not a complete concrete desert, all signs in Finnish, everyone speaks English, visit the petting zoo.
As with many Scandinavian amusementparks the rides seem to have been placed on a giant concrete slab with any decorations being an after-thought. Here they have at least done a fair job at improving the looks and making it more family friendly. There is a giant monkey frame in the kids area that is a huge relief for parents of kids that have spent to much time sitting in rides and standing in line.
One weird thing is that allmost all written information is only available in Finnish, but every single park attendant I asked spoke perfect English, and a few spoke Swedish (to my son's delight), so why are most price lists, signs and menues only in Finnish?
There is also a delightful little "petting zoo"/living museeum/story world/playground just to the side of the main amusementpark. It is well worth a visit for both young and old, but obviously an extra delight for us parents.

Nice park with quite thrilling coasters. If you are a tourist and not able to read Finnish, you will be guessing all the time as nothing - and I mean really nothing - is written in English or any other language.
When we visited in mid July there were quite long queues, so waiting time was depending on the coaster about 30 to 45 minutes. Surprisingly the longest queues were in front of food infrastructure.
Bring relaxed mood and enough time, then the visit will pay off!

Amazing theme park! The drop tower is turning so you will see in many directions and also it’s very INTENSE! 🎢🎡 I did all the extreme rides and I was soooo happy. Definitely worth paying 50 € for unlimited rides instead of 10 for each. Also go to the main tower with great view of the park itself, the city and lakes. From the top you will see how many trees they have here!! 🌲 🌲
