(Translated by Google) In this environment, there is something to explore and look at, at least during the summer. The fishing museum was interesting, even though I'm not into the subject myself. Summer kiosks etc. are also enough.
We also found an art exhibition where we got to hang out with the artist himself for a while.
I recommend this for a summer day ✌️

Hussam H — Google review
Welcome to the 80s, there is an accident waiting to happen.
Don't get me wrong, kids (6&9yrs) had time of their lives during our visit. That's the good news. Problem is that the tickets for a family of four cost 124€. What did we get for the price: dirty toilets, unhappy employees, broken rides, rundown park area and a water park that was just in disgusting shape. We arrived during the first opening hour and toilets were not cleaned, great way to start the day. We didn't get a single hello from the staff. When we thanked them, we got back grunts.
If the measurement is that kids have fun, great, that was achieved. With 124€ I expect more. Where is the money from the tickets put into? Not in maintenance, employees or cleaning. We spend 0€ to anything else during our visit just because everything was over priced so badly. Margins for basic ice cream must be around 85%. The whole place is a total rip off. My last visit was in the early 90s and I have to say that nostalgia was real, nothing had changed and the park was in way worse condition that I remembered.
Water park side was just as run down. Black mold on the walls. Dead bugs, food and feathers from local wild birds in the water yet all staff were just on "life guard duty". Why not clean the pools while watching the pools? Why everything was covered in brown stains?
There were not too many people and I understand why. You can't be asking this kind of price and keep the park in such state. This is greed in it's purest form. One star because the kids had fun, one star because there was no queues and parking was free.
Tapio K. — Google review
Quite dated activity park for kids; has bit of a russian feel to it. Nice bang for the buck however. Really cold water in pools even on a hot day. Hard to get to without a car: from Riihimäki train station take a bus to Tervakoski and walk 1km. They go every 2-4 hours or so and only during weekdays. Very incompetent summer staff when we visited.
Matti Dahlbom — Google review
Good place for kids. They should properly maintain the place. 3 years have been visiting.
TheGallefort — Google review
Went with a 4 year old and a 14 year old. We were there for opening at 10:00 and kept active until almost 19:00. Plenty to do. It was pretty quiet but well staffed. Didn't have to wait at all for anything. Plenty of sitting space while waiting for kids on every ride. Water park was clean and safe, with good slides for kids of all ages.
We had a great day.
Carl Rthompson — Google review
It was a trip down the memory lane for me. Seeing the place after tens of years with my own kids was awesome. It is good since there are a lot of activities that kids can actually do.
Juho Jutila — Google review
A place to avoid!!
This park does not live up to today's safety standards. It's actually shocking that this park has a license to operate. Many of the activities were closed or unstaffed. The playgrounds are rather dangerous for children as often the wood is broken or vital parts are missing. Everything looks very old and not taken care of.
Even though it is nice to see that this park employs young people, the staff needs training in customer service and safety. There was no hello or a friendly smile. Once the button to operate a machine was pressed, the staff would stare at their mobile phones. There was an incident at the electric car race course, where a child turned the car into the wrong direction and drove head-on towards the other child (only two of those cars were in operation). The other child was able to avoid the crash
However, the staff member was standing with his back to the race course, chatting with friends.
The food is of low quality and virtually no options for vegetarians or vegans. At 4:30 pm most of the ice-cream kiosks were closed. Advertised coffee specialities couldn't be properly prepared because of lack of ingredients.
Each person needs to pay 31 € even though most of the "attractions" are for children. And many things are simply not useable.
C M — Google review
It’s okay. Very old and dated. But my only problem is the price tag. If you want to charge that much your gonna need to update your rides and experiences. One example all the trampolines springs we’re so worn on that my 4 year old could bounce on them.
蓝天佑Chris — Google review
Very good place to spend a hot day with kids. Rides become lame after 1-2 times, but the water park doesn’t disappoint. The bad: food is crappy and expensive.

Large resort with 12.1 kilometers of ski & snowboarding slopes, 15 lifts & lighting in the evening.
Really good slopes, plenty for beginners and also for advanced riders
Andrei Grigore — Google review
Half places stay closed while they say its open.. could do better with informing people.
Workers are very nice and helpful.
Unfortunately, northern slopes were all closed. So everyone is crammed on the west one.
Kit Kat — Google review
Usually we love Himos and come here every year, but this weekend the ski slopes are in horrible state. When coming of off a lift then you have to start walking through snow to get to the slopes. Sadly it seems that the slopes are not taken care of. Very disappointed….. Hopefully the resort will do something about it, because it’s a very nice resort otherwise.

The ski resort In Finland closest to Helsinki worth spending a whole weekend. Good variety of slopes and a well working lift system. A large selection of cabins to rent for a week-end or for a longer skiing holiday. A couple of casual lunch restaurants by the slopes.
Esko Haavisto — Google review
This is best ski resort in Southern Finland. Just 2,5h from Helsinki without coffee breaks. There is plenty of cottages for rent in the village around Himos even on the hill. Have been here only in winter but there is also golf courses for a swings to take at summer time. Many other outdoor and indoor activities available around the year like snowmobile and fatbike rides, cross-country skiing, concerts and festivals. Little city of Jämsä is very near and has lots of good size grocery stores.
Juha Tuomi — Google review
A small ski resort that has almost everything. It certainly cannot compete with Levi but the close proximity to Tampere and Helsinki makes it an ideal weekend trip destination. With sufficient snow, the resort offers small hills for beginners, plenty of red and black tracks for more experienced winter sports(wo)men and a jump&fun park. The tracks are illuminated and allow skiing long after the sun went down. Some of the lifts are a bit old but new ones are under construction. Plenty of free parking, service people, and possibilities to eat. However, prices for food and drinks are high and the (evening) ski pass could be cheaper too, especially when not all tracks are open.
I visit the ski arena around five or six times per year but certainly miss longer tracks. At least the waiting time for the lifts are usually very short.
Amazing museum. Make sure to leave some time to visit to see it all. Play games (English and Finnish), beautiful displays and incredibly helpful staff. So glad we went.

That permanent exhibition panels and graphic are very confusing, dated and difficult to read/understand, plus the building have acoustic issues i think, Kids were screaming and echo was very bad. Beside that the design and details of the museum are good.

If you enjoy beautiful lake views, old cars, bikes, bicycles, scale models and many other vehicle-related antiquities, this is a must see. The site has a lovely café as well for something to eat and drink after or before the museum visit. A few meters down the road you will find a viewing tower which offers stunning views.

Nice place to visit during a sunny summer day! Museum is free entry. Various old cars, e.g. Grandma Duck's electric car. Nice cafeteria with fresh "munkki" (doughnut). Also food options. I have visited many times during the years and I'll still visit.

Very cool museum with 40+ aircraft of all uses and sizes. This is accompanied ons of models and also very informative panels about the history of Finnish aviation including interesting backstories of the blue swastika and home-made planes Tiira. Another cool feature is that you can sit in real cockpits of two real fighter jets (just the cockpit part present in this case).
Part of the exhibits are outside but most of the museum is hosted indoors.
Jiří Marvan — Google review
Very good a museum, it has a lot history and knowledge to read about. The exhibition is well-organized and marked. Feels like walking back to the history. There are plenty city buses from Jyväskylä. The small giftshop and cafe is clean and friendly. Overall it is a great museum! The cockpit experience is amazing and you can also book flight simulator in advance.
Tao Wang — Google review
Awesome place for the aviation nerd 🤣 Got two and a half SAAB J35 Drakens... the half being a front with a cockpit that you may sit inside (along MiG-21 too, so you can compare the east vs. west experience). The exposition is focused on Finnish air forces alone, and is very rich, extensive and well organised. Time very well spent!
Michał Sacharewicz — Google review
Military museum with moderate size in space and moderate number of collections. Anyway, the visitors can catch a glimpse of Finnish military aviation history. Artifacts on exhibition range from the earliest wooden- metallic surveillance plane to full-metal fighter jet, from the retired planes to shot-down planes. Worth a visit if you are keen to know Finnish air force history.

A very good place to learn the history of Finnish Air Force.
You should visit to get to know more 🥰🥰

The museum itself is pretty good. There's an amazing selection of airplanes! My only disappointment was that there was very little information in English without putting in extra effort. That said, English is not an official language in the country. I'm just very used to being spoiled in the other museums and galleries that i have did while in Finland.
kfour ten — Google review
Cool place...fun stuff..have around 30 fighter planes and in couple of then yu can actually go inside and have an experience inside the cockpit of fighter jet. One can easily spend 2 hrs here, so plan accordingly. The best part is the museum tells history of foghter planes in finland from 1910s to now and the engines too. So, you can also have a closer look on engines and how they evolved with time as well as planes and their evolution with time. Most of the fighter planes had donated from finnish air force and. You can also buy soveniers too. The place have a tiny cafeteria, where yu can get coffee and some bakery stuff.
Amar Raj — Google review
The museum overall is nicely setup with signage being mostly in English and Finnish. The museum has a nice collection of aircraft from the start of the Finnish Air Force, to the more recent era.
It was nice to see a wide array of aircraft in Finnish colors, especially the world's only Brewster Buffalo and a Hawker Hurricane. I think that the overall pricing of the museum is reasonable for what you get, and I love the fact that they have balconies that allow you to overlook most of the aircraft. The one major downside to the museum is the terrible indoor lighting that casts a nasty orange tint on everything inside.
Joel Cooke — Google review
An excellent place to visit. Reminds me also my time in the Air Force Military School.

Finland has a rich and varied aviation history. This museum has a wide array of aircraft reflecting the diversity of the Finnish air force fleet. Aircraft from the USA, Russia, UK, Sweden, France, Germany and perhaps more! The exhibitions bring the aircraft to life and give an in depth look into the Finnish contributions during WW2 and the cold war. A great way to spend an afternoon for the whole family!

Great Finnish Aviation museum with super fine arrangements and great collection of plans and historical facts. The museum is divided into different sections and includes many aspects of the Finnish Air Force including special operations and capabilities from WW2.
Wooden 19th-century Lutheran church with a quaint bell tower, a rustic interior & a burial ground.
Beautiful wooden church from 1750th. Costs 7€ per person to gain entry to the main room. Behind the altar a small collection of antiques can be seen which were found below the churchs floor. Nice quiet stroll trough the cemetery nearby the lake. Im total 30min is enough.

A certainly unique church made entirely out of wood. What distinguishes it from other similar churches in Finland is that it has been preserved in its original state so its current visitors can time travel to 18th century and admire this gem.
Special shout out to the very friendly and knowledgeable staff, happy to give more details about the church's history and answer any questions in fluent English.

Ronald van Dieen — Google review
The church is really nice, something that you rarely would see somewhere else as it is entirly made with wood. The church is small, but it's really interesting both for the architecture and for the history. If you're visiting it in winter remember to wear warm clothes as the church is not heated.
Alice Lunghi — Google review
Beautiful old wooden church surrounded by small cemetery and a lake. The interior is well preserved, all paints are original from 18th century. Very atmospheric place, smell of the wood can be felt as soon as you enter. Wonderful pulpit with unique style angels and other figures. Sacristy with small exhibition of old coins, chests and other stuff. A wheelchair available for those with reduced mobility. Very friendly and informative staff, Johanna from the ticket office is very knowledgeable and passionate about the church and is ready to show you around and answer all questions. If you are lucky enough, you will have the place for yourself as it happened to me on final day of August. Highly recommended to visit, be aware that 31st August 2023 was (sadly) last opening day in the summer.
A very nice visit. I especially enjoyed the pulp making section, although it might be easier if there was some sort of captions or a guide for what happens in each step as probably not everyone knows - the process is explained as text on the walls. I think one gets more value if one takes time to do a guided tour or uses all the aids that are at hand. I am Finnish speaking so didn't really ask about the English materials but think audio guides were at hand, too.

Serlachius museum Gustaf in the heart of the city Mänttä. Situated by the lake Koskelanlampi. A very beautiful place and the building itself represents great architecture, classism and functionality of the year 1934. The art collection inside is interesting and full of Finnish history. Worth a visit any time of the year, but especially in summer.
Plenty of parking places outside.

The Gösta Serlachius Museum, Museum of Art is a top-tier cultural institution in Finland that used to be the private residence of Gosta Serlachius.
Absolutely beautiful place up to world's standards. Combines classic Finnish and European heritage, modern and contemporary arts. Place itself is great, exhibitions are very well performed. The restaurant is highly recommended for the visit.

Absolutely splendid! It is the most beautiful art museum that I have visited in Finland ( artworks displayed, services provided, surroundings).
Antoanela Duca — Google review
From an architect's point of view, the merge between new and old buildings was brilliant. The spaces give a fancy yet minimal touch without taking too much from the art on display.
As we went in August 2021 this is what we saw:
Banksy's exhibition was still on. A perfectly staged area with lots of nice descriptions and collections.
Santeri Tuori - Posing Time. With a beautiful nature dark immersed room and complementing sounds.
Jani Leinonen's - The Truth. With a stunning burnt attic like contrasting with a radiant and colorful vitro mosaic window with harsh modern society critics in a beautiful display.
The staff is super friendly and nice.
Worth mentioning the outdoors, neatly and beautiful gardens with so many panoramic natural views.
Definitely recommend to stop by and set at least 4-6 hours to really enjoy the place.

One star missing for the remote location even though the milieu is super beautiful and all the green areas are well cared for.

Classic zoo with animals on display including giant pandas, brown bears, snow leopards & more.
A really nice zoo in Winter. The pandas were sleeping but they woke up after a short waiting and went outdoors into the snow.
There are plenty to see during winter, but you better to have warm clothes, because it gets cold if you are spending 2 hours outdoors. Luckily someone had left fire in the fire pit so we could warm up. You can actually take your sausages with you and some hot drink!
It’s open only until 15:00, so you better get there early enough, but you don’t need to rush, because you can leave the tour later than the closing hour.
We will come back in Summer time for sure. I highly recommend this place 🐼👍🏻

The Toripolliisi is a significant historical landmark situated in the heart of Oulu. It comprises of a bronze statue portraying a stout policeman who once patrolled the marketplace. The area surrounding it is dotted with coffee shops, bars, and restaurants making it an ideal location for tourists to visit. Additionally, there is a stunning library nearby which adds to the charm of this place. During summer days, this place buzzes with various activities like music events making it quite lively and entertaining.
That's the heart of Oulu. It is very close to the shopping malls in city. It has coffee cafe, bars and restaurants nearly. Moreover, the beautiful library is also close to it. In summar days, you will find this place crowded with a bunch of activities, music and events. Highly recommended for the tourists.

Incredibl meal, can't recommend this restaurant enough. We shared the creamy salmon, potato and dill soup that was just amazing. My chantrelle mushroom risotto and my boyfriends perch were both delicious as well. Service was friendly, atmostphere was lowkey and laidback. We would definitely visit Oulu again just go to this restaurant again.

One of the best restaurants in Oulu. Price is high, but quality of food is according the price. I suggest to try reindeer meat. Smashed is good and alsO slowly cooked. Big portion, very soft delicious meat!

Nallikari beach is a beautiful and serene destination situated in a winter wonderland. The white sand beach offers many activities such as swimming, water sports rentals, cafes, and cycling routes to explore the scenic beauty of the area. It is located only 3.5 KM from Radisson Blue Hotel, making it an easily accessible location for tourists looking to enjoy a clean and less crowded environment without having to travel far from the city center.
I went to this place in winter and had an amazing experience walking on the frozen sea. It was an out of the world feel. People have been walking, running, skiing, skating and ice fishing on the frozen sea. The first experiences are one of the best experiences and this was one such for me. Lovely landscape, completely white all around and a peaceful surrounding. In summer this would be another best spot to swim, camp and spend some quality time outdoor

Icebreaker Sampo is a company that offers guided tours and Arctic cruises aboard a massive vessel from the 1960s. Booking early is recommended for this incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience, which includes viewing the ship breaking through ice with breathtaking scenery, enjoying tasty buffet lunches, walking on frozen seas, and even swimming in icy waters (floating may be a more fitting description).
Awesome experience with SAMPO icebreaker

My sister and I thought this was a great experience! It was pricey, but it included lunch, transport, a tour of the icebreaker, and a dip in the frozen waters while wearing a survival suit. We chose an afternoon tour and got very lucky with a beautiful sunset. Boris was our tour guide and he was very nice and knowledgeable.
Cara Clayton — Google review
I really thought it is going to be a ripp-off with that price BUT there are so many crewmembers who have to drive, prepare, watch the icebreakter and there are many people just there for you. Like helping in the suit, making photos of you (still smiling, I would be annoyed after one week, but they still make you feel welcome). That was such an awesome crew, never had such nice people on a tourist trip. Thanks so much, worth every euro. And the experience itself, I had to cry as I watched the endless ice. So beautiful but so in danger due to climate change. i am very grateful that I could see that in my life. Thanks!

Very bad experience with Icebreaker Sampo. We had a paid reservation for a cruise on April 1st. And we organized our trip in Lapland to be in Kemi that day, dedicating a day for the cruise and the Kemi ice castle, which made us incur additional costs (hotel, extra day car rental...). But the company decided to cancel the cruise, claiming that it did not have enough clients for that day and proposed us to bring the cruise up one day, which was impossible for us due to the travel schedule. Although we got our money back (of course!) we were terribly upset, we incurred unnecessary expenses and, above all, we lost a day of vacation: both the Kemi ice castle and SnowExperience365 are a complete joke... they are not worth it absolutely nothing. In short, we strongly discourage booking this cruise in advance; this is intended for tour operator or group reservations. A single couple is left at the mercy of a cancellation policy that may be legal in Finland but is certainly totally immoral.

The kind of attractions you do once in a lifetime
Is there a possibility to buy coffee and food on the ship
Mualem Udi — Google review
It's fun and special but it's really touristy and too expensive for what it actually is. The icebreaker "brakes" the ice that has already been broken a thousand times so it doesn't really break the ice anymore. The crew and guides are super friendly and explain well.

An amazing experience!! You will see the frozen lake cracks, float in the ice water, and take some amazing pictures. The latte in the coffee stand is great !!

The Icebreaker is a great family attraction. The trip is about two and half hours and it includes ice water swimming (floating will be more fitting description).

The SnowCastle of Kemi is a unique and enchanting seafront hotel made entirely out of ice and snow. Originally built in 1996 as a Unicef project, it is now a popular winter destination for weddings, honeymoons, and admiring the ethereal light and lavishly decorated interior. The design changes each year but always includes a chapel, hotel, ice bar, and restaurant.
We made a quick stop to check out the castle. It was very unique and scenic. The interior was completely made of ice which is something we had never seen before and it's free of charge for entry. Played a bit of ice hockey outside and took turns on the rotating sled as well. Overall, a fun experience which I could recommend.
Nilusha Jayawickrama — Google review
Nice snow statues with two different spaces, one available all year and the other one just in winter.
A nice small sledge is also available beside the winter castle the sea right beside can also be a nice thing to "visit" by walking or by taking a cruise
Ivan — Google review
It's a wooden castle, not a snowcastle. Compared to the real snowcastle which took place every year in Kemi harbor, this is a mockery towards that. The real castle was made entirely out of snow & ice! It was stunning and everyone was amazed! But this, nothing but a waste of money. There's just a big warehouse type of room and some ice sculptures, but the vibe is off completely. As I live here, I say we didn't want this. No one wanted a wooden castle instead of the original snowcastle. But, the big guys with cigars in their mouths decided this would make more money. Well, it doesn't, and never ever will replace the real deal. It's doomed. No tourist wants to see modern hell, they come to see the culture, the originality of Kemi snowcastle, the ancient times.. they want to see the old times and culture, not modern hell

Previous years the snow castle was more impressive. It may be due to covid that this year's castle is a bit smaller. The art on the inside is impressive nevertheless. There is no entrance fee either.

30€ for 2 kids and 2 adults to visit a large garage with a few really nice ice sculptures and a slide. I will gladly rate better with more bang for the buck. Outside snow maze a nice experience for the kids.

Nice hotel room/ villa with good view, but there was not much to do. Only a couple of ice sculptures to look at, the ice bar was closed and the ice labyrinth is more of a child activity. We visited in march, so it was kind of off-season.

The snow castle is no longer there. The is a 365 ice experience which has ice sculpture, slide and tables for €10 entry

There is no snow castle anymore.
A small Ice hall with carvings and twi sldes.
Great to walk through 20 minutes.
But to pay for this for 2 adults an 2 kids 50€ was to much.
The pictures in the Internet are showing not the current situation.
For us it was not worth visiting that spot.

Apart from the view and the uniquely located villa by the sea nothing to harp. Hotel staff welcoming was below average. No one was at the desk on Sunday, the reception was closed. Therefore they left the breakfast in the villa.

Chinese tourist trap. We were told by very friendly staff that castle wasn't build this year due to absence of Chinese tourist. So there was one small room available only with few statues, where you could spend 10 minutes and that's it. Don't pay 10€ for it, it's not worth it. This whole place is build for Chinese and has nothing to offer, but for staff I give one more star and snowy magical atmosphere around one more. So 3 not well deserved stars for me

A bit disappointed! I was waiting for the wow effects from the experience of luxury in 2016 of the outdoor ice castle 😅!This year 2023 there is no castle outdoor, small labyrinth and ice slides for free to visit.
Indoor snow experience costs a fee and it is possible to bring for instance hot cacao to drink there. There are several ice sculptures with led lights and an ice slide which my 5 year old love very much.
My friend visited the ice castle in Lapland which is better this year...

We expected more from the biggest ice castle in the world, even in summer. We have been to the one next to kiruna 3 years ago and it was amazing even in summer. But this one was just a garage with a less than 10 ice sculptures and a slide. Nothing to do around. Not worth it

ok, but thats it - a but to expensive for a few mins of entertainment, we just watched the ice sculptures (€50 for 4 adults and a 5 year old kid) - 10 mins of watching, the outside area was not ready yet but still full price :/

It is a nice place to be for a while, but when we came, it wasn’t completely done yet I think.
The castle itself is great to see. It was an icehockey area, small maze, 2 slides. We used the slide and it was amazing.
Parking is free as far as we saw and the area is clear and clean. Very easy to find!

The staff is friendly and helpful, no doubt about that. But the entrance fee for the snow castle and snow world is simply to pricey in my opinion. The prices in the restaurant on the upper floor seemed reasonable to mee.
Patrick Bareiter — Google review
A great disappointment. Driving 500 km to get there, the snow castle was only a "snow corridor":( I asked in the reception if they are not ready with the construction, they said it is ready like this and this is the new concept😏 This is not worth the 18€ entrance fee, because the inner ice room is also small. Do not travel there from a big distance because it is not worth it. Such a pity for the beautiful town of Kemi!:(
Lucia Pavlovics — Google review
The building includes a restaurant, a café, bathrooms, and souvenir shops, in addition to a castle snow 365 experienc. The experience is beautiful; everything there is made of snow, and you can try the ice slide. However, I find the price exaggerated as the ticket is 18 euros, usually covering the snow experience and snow garden. Despite the snow garden being closed, and we only saw the small snow castle, they charged the full ticket price. I believe there should be a discount when the service or the offer is not complete. Besides that, the staff is courteous and friendly.
Samah — Google review
There no longer is a snow castle :( There only is a big freezer room with a fun slide an some ice sculptures. Outside are some snow walls, a tunnel of snow and a few snow games....good for 10min of fun. Really not worth to pay for. They should have kept the original outside snow castle. And yeah, you can't visit a real snow castle all year round. But it is an SNOW castle, it is ment to only exist during winter.
Elke Renard — Google review
The snow castle ticket is a bit pricey when it is for a much smaller indoor area compare to in the past that included the outdoor of the castle as well. Otherwise my kids like the ice slide indoor and the free activities outdoor.

Only go here in summer. It is not the most popular place so the snow is very difficult to walk on - it was the longest 2km walk from the road because our feet were constantly sinking in the snow. My feet are still wet 5 days later.
Once there, it really wasn’t worth it. Maybe it’s nicer in summer when you can explore more. In late April it was too icy and the snow was too think and unstable so I didn’t climb so much.

Me and wife drove some 45 minutes only to have a dinner at Kukkolaforsen and we sure had a superb meal to a very reasonable price! We decided on one of the menus - Kukkolaforsen, I believe - that started with a spectacular smoked tartar, followed by the (extremely!) local, traditional fish. Delicious crème brûlée for dessert! A stunning river view is a great bonus and so is the fact that you can buy the local fish, smoked at the premises, on your way from the restaurant. Higly recommended; we'll be back for sure.

It is the off season and the fishing museum is closed. However, the outdoor signs are still available to read and learn about the whitefish fishing history of the area. Photo opportunities near the rapids and river, and by request at the saunas that are models used for sale or retreats. The restaurant was in use today by a group, so it was closed. We were offered to order for ourselves the same meal that was prepared for this group, but we were looking for something else. We declined, but from what I could smell, I imagine the meal was good.

The last week of 2022 we went there with the family for an unforgettable holiday.
We were in house 212 with a private sauna, but we did not use it (we found it too small and the multiple saunas on the site are much larger and we found them more pleasant)
The staff are very friendly and very helpful. They are also happy to tell you about the location, the environment, the country and all the possibilities for excursions there.
The food was excellent both at the hotel and at the excursion locations. For my wife, because she does not eat fish, every lunch or dinner with fish was prepared differently. Top arranged!
The location is also special, on the border with Finland, where we have gone over the ice several times.
Kukkolaforsen is definitely recommended for a very nice holiday.

It was a bad start of our stay at this hotel with the first two rooms offered not being cleaned at 6 p.m. when we arrived after 500 Km of driving. And we had to discover this by ourselves. We were compensated with a free desert for dinner. The hotell has a spectacular and culturally interesting location facing the Kukkola rapids. Breakfast is just OK comparing with our previous experience of Swedish hotel breakfast tables. The dinner menu features local specialties, of which the locally caught wild salmon and whitefish were of excellent quality. Deserts were pricey for what was offered. A couple of hours after we had left the hotel we received a call from the reception asking why we has not paid our room, a surprising administrative glitch. The hotel clearly needs some improvement of its administrative routines!

The only thing that stops me from giving 5* is that it's in sweden and with covid you had to have a test every time and you don't have a lot of things to do on site.
Otherwise nice sauna, the vip one (on reservation) even has a hot tub outdoor which is really nice in winter where the best thing would be to watch aurora borealis while in the tub (didn't have the chance to experience it sadly) but yeah very nice thing.

Probably one of my top 10 experiences in life! A must do, and while it does have somewhat of a tourist vibe, it’s just on another level and something amazing about going out to the middle of a frozen sea. We did a self drive to the location which was easy to find. Ample parking lots which are pretty safe and most of the guests would usually arrive in tour buses.
We checked in and were given a brief introduction of what to expect along with a wrist band for what time our swim slots were. All the staff we met on board were polite and friendly, even the ships captain who showed us around the captains cabin.
All in it was a tremendous experience and well worth the price.

Very cool trip. We enjoyed the view from the boat and learning about icebreaker ships. Walking out on the frozen water was neat. The best part to me was floating in the broken up ice water. The suits smell awful but once you go outside you don't smell it. The sound of the ice clinking in the water, the amazing feeling of floating, it was so relaxing. It might be worth it to get into the water early, the ice encroached a lot by the time we got in since we were the last session.

Our fifth visit to Finland and a decent drive over the border to Sweden for the Polar Explorer Icebreaker, and what an amazing experience.
The staff are super-friendly, and knowledgeable about the icebreaker. Great to walk around the engine room and see the inner workings. On deck, and looking out across the vast frozen landscape, you can hear the ice being crushed as the ship propels forward.
Highlight was wearing a survival suit and floating around in the icy water - loads of family fun, then off for a walk on the frozen ice, a go on the kicksleds, photos and back on board for refreshments. At the end guests are given a certificate as they disembark. 5 stars doesn’t do this excursion justice, such an amazing once in a lifetime experience - that we hope to do again!!!

Absolutely Unforgettable memories! We had a great time exploring with Polar Explorer. When we checked in, the staff briefed us very clearly about the schedule, we could use free WiFi on ship to download an App for self-guided touring which is more flexible, then we would wear the dry suit and float the sea for about 10 minutes. In our case I and my partner takes turn to take photos ourselves, the staff didn't really help on photography because they have their own, it costs about 20 euros for a set with 6-7 photos, i wasn’t caught in half of the photos. Another downside is the suit smelled bad, I think they don’t really clean well with soap. And the suit covered my mouth so I had hard time to talk. Tho the staff members are very friendly and gave good advices on how you can fully enjoy the experience. And we were able to get off the ship and step out the ice for sunrise photos which I think it’s one of the most beautiful photos I had in Finland. Lastly, the experience comes with a certificate!

Lapland Hotels Snow Village is a unique tourist attraction in Kirovsk that boasts imaginative lodging options. Visitors are treated to stunning ice sculptures and themed displays meticulously carved into walls by talented ice sculptors from the region. The Snow Village's attractions include a giant banana ride attached to a snowmobile and an Ice Chapel, which offers couples the chance to exchange vows in a truly enchanting setting.
After a 30 minute drive from Levi. We were reaching close to the Lapland Snow village. After we turned from the main road as per our one and only google aunty's instruction. Actually, we were a bit confused as the road does not seem to be a normal road and we doubted that we are driving through the actual road or not. The way google map was showing is a dark snow-covered path between a pine forest. After a few hundreds of meters, we saw some lights and found the actual road to the Lapland snow village. Also, we are too happy to experience that snow road adventure drive. Snow Village is a Chapter of Lapland ice Hotels group. It's built up only in the wintertime. There is an amazing video showing the construction of the ice hotel. The temperature outside was around only -25. So we couldn't stay further exposed. We took some quick snaps in front of the welcome wall and got inside. The building is completely made by ice except for the reception area. To enter inside the snow park we need to purchase a 15 EUR admission ticket. On the left side of the entry, you could witness one of Lapland's amazing experiences - The Ice restaurant. But the minimum expenditure to enter is 75EUR. But when we had a look from outside, we didn't its that worth visiting. So we just skipped and proceeded to the real ICE world.
When we stepped inside the door it looked exceptionally magical. At first, we see an ice corridor coloured with pink lights and shining ice crystals. The reflection of lights through the ice and the silence inside peeped us to another world. The temperature inside was around -2 to -5. And we dressed up for -25 because of the outdoor activity. So after a few steps inside here, we started feeling hot… yes.. Really… inside the ice room, actually, we were feeling hot. After we pass through the corridor, there are plenty of rooms. A theatre to show the construction of the snow village and ice hotel. A chapel for peaceful pray. And some chat rooms. But the wonder is, each and everything on those rooms is made by crystal clear ice. The sitting bench. The tables, shelves, status each and everything made by ice. And each year they are constructing on a different design. So, each year the visitors will see something different After watching all this, we entered the centre. Each junction inside the building is connected with colourful ice corridors. And at the centre, the most amazing experience… THE ICE BAR. The ice bar is completely made of ice. Completely means from the sitting chair to the drinking glass. Everything is made using crystal clear ice. And they have some special arctic drink. we decided to try something from there. Something unique. Yes, the drink only available in Lapland region. Called Lplandia” its a fine vodka for cold temperature mixed with different flowers. we choose to try a shot from the Blueberry Laplandia vodka. The short glass also carved from ice in front of us and we really enjoyed the hotshot. Next to the ice bar, the is a huge sculpture of "Game of Thrones" made in the ice. And from there onwards, there are many bedrooms made using ice blocks. Yes.. only the mattress and pillows are made using wool. Everything else is made by ice and decorated using colourful lights gives a really romantic atmosphere. And each bedroom is decorated with different kinds of sculptures. I felt like, this place is a photographers paradise.

Awesome experience. Love the two type of the art one north mythology and one Finish. Rooms and art work looked so cool. Loved the touch of ice bar and drinks in ice glasses. There was some queue but just walk one lap and there will be no queue. Very impressive place. Staff members have great humor loved it.

A bit pricey, but so worth it. A very unique experience, lot of work has gone into this temporary exhibition. Only visited during day and did not stay overnight - not sure I would want one of these futuristic creatures looking over me during the night.

Great tour around a world! Never visited this before. Warm chocolate during a tour was lovely. Dinner at the restaurant would have been nice but that was closed during our visit. Hotel rooms did not make me feel like to stay for a night but maybe I was just not well dressed🤣🤣 too chill for me🥰

Come and visit the snow village for about 19€
If you visit it peacefully you will have an hour of visiting and discovering all the great work done here.
For those who can't stand the cold, in this musuem it will be colder than outside.
The personnal here is lovely.
Don't hesitate to stop by the coffee/restaurant at the end.

Nice art but nothing much to do. We enjoyed more at the snow hills outside than inside the structure. Getting there was difficult and expensive. Other attractions around Levi provide shuttle buses.

Visiting here was really cool, especially for someone like me who comes from a tropical island. The talent and art was stunning and just the whole idea of them coming up with themes and finding artist from around the world to bring it all together is just fantastic. This year’s theme was the Nordic Mythology and we had so much fun on the ice slide. We also had lunch in the ice restaurant and I enjoyed the soup.

Beautiful Ice Artwork! Every year another theme and every room looks different. Must have is a shot in an ice glass in the ice bar

Fantastic place, we had a quick tour around explaining how they build it and why they can use snow from the sky and how they make it by pumping it up from the local river and spraying it in the air to freeze and then harvest it. Every year it melts down and last November they started building and had most of it done in a month. Slide was the best part .

Very nice built hotel and rooms . You can sleep overnight, around 200eur for one night. We didn't do that. There are around 12 rooms, looks nice. Seems to be extremely quite there at night. You have an ice bar with ice drinks from ice glasses. Every room had it's own theme. Also Amsterdam! There was also a Northern light watch but unfortunately we didn't see that due to some clouds. Nice to visit this when you're in the neighborhood!

Amazing experience. Drove here from Levi in the middle of winter and it was still a great, beautiful drive.
We ate at the Ice restaurant which was an experience in itself, but the ice sculptures in the ice village is amazing. Every room deserved a picture and it was once in a life time experience.
Make sure to dress VERY warmly though. It gets cold being in there while.

We loved this place, it was so magical. Sledge ride to see Father Christmas, Saw the Reindeer, Sledge ride being pulled by Huskys, a go on a snow mobile , went in the huge igloo place to look at all the sculptures and went on the ice slide and had a drink in the ice bar. Went on sledges down a slope. Amazing place

I've always wanted to stay in an ice hotel, and this did not disappoint. There are some things that are a little bizarre, but it's as much of an experience as it is accommodations. For instance, the bathrooms and shower are separate and community style, and there are no doors for the rooms but an ice entrance. There are no electrical outlets inside the rooms, but there are lockers and plugs in a "warm room," which is a small cabin where bathrooms are also located.
Marissa Mejia — Google review
Very good. Awesome ice hotel. This year's theme is Nordic legend so far there's Thor's hammer made of ice. Hotel is still being built but the ice sculptures inside are amazing. Bar prices are not cheap but then you'd expect them not to be with the amount of work that's gone in to build the hotel.

Amazing place, this was part of my holiday package,I'd happily come back, lots to do from walking around the snow village to husky rides to snowmobiling to enjoying a drink in the ice bar and to top it off, meet the main man (SANTA) himself by taking a sleigh ride through the forest, simply magical

I really like the exhibition, it is sooo beautiful and the theme (north mythology) is very well suited to the place. It is even bigger than I thought it would be, and additional thank you for the movie, it was very funny. We also had soup in the coffee - drinks, coffee, soup was very good. Cool experience, thank you

The sledge dogs were a nice experience, the staff there is very friendly and the dogs are great. However I wouldn't do it again in such conditions (the 5km ride), you have something like 15 sledges following each other, with a few snowmobiles in between. That's too much touristic, you spend most of the time stopped for whatever reason, I would rather do a longer trip with less people and no snowmobile, even though more expensive.

Johanna (I think) led myself and a friend on a group trip to the ice hotel near Ylläs, around the 9th February 2024. We've been on the tour before with other companies/guides, but Johanna gave an outstanding tour, with excellent knowledge of the current theme of the hotel, which was North (not just Norse) mythology. Thank you Johanna! From the two Brits.

Everyone was very friendly, smiling and helpful in many ways. Wow! We had an excellent snowmobile trip with Bartek, our tourguide. We were lucky with the sun on our 3 hour tour. It was just the 2 of us and we both had our own snowmobile, which I can highly recommend. It will cost a little more, but I got the time to get used to riding it so the second half of the trip I could go faster and I was enjoying it even more!
We were happy with our guide. He gave good instructions and was fun to have around. Lapland safaris provided us with good gear, so it was all safe and fun to ride.
We just did the 2 days snowshoeing trek and it was an amazing experience ! Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end, starting from a great communication with Sabrina, to a very professional and caring guide, Tuure. He made this trip unforgettable ! Thank you and I strongly recommend your company.

We did 2 tours with 7fellsup - and disussed some of their other tours. The tours were great - see below, but having professional advice on what would suite us was key to the sucess.
We did the lappish dinner tour and the moderate snowshoe toptour to Kauer. Both suited for not that young beginners on snowshoes. The firm also have difficult tours, even 5 day hikes. So something for everyone. I envie the ones that are in shape for those tours, but even though we did beginner tours they were fun and beautifull adventures. Well done 7fellsup.
The lappish dinner tour:
Snowshoeing through the silence of the old Finnish forest was beautiful, especially with the snow falling. The highlight for me was the short quiet time to our selves at the Sami's ancient sacred rock. That was magical. Then a fun short trip back to the cozy kota, where the guide had lit the fire and warmed up the fine reindeer stew. Nice with lingonberries and pickled cucumbers ;).
We were asked to use our headlamps as little as possible throughout the trip, which enhanced the experience of nature. Just one example of many that 7fellsup really focuses on details to give us a amazing experience.
The top tour to Kauer:
The most beautiful "walk" through the forest guided to see the animal tracks in the snow and being told about the forest and its inhabitants. On the way the guide made sure that we could do as much deepsnow snowshoing as we wanted or if less adventures (me) stay on the beaten track for most of the time. It may be beginners - but I got the excersise of the day :) ...Perfect!!
And the thrill at the top. What a view to enjoy, while drinking warm juice and eating the homemade cakes served by the guide...I know - we were lucky having no wind, so we could stay long waching the the sun set, making the tour down a real twillight experience. And when it got too dark to see, the guide had headlamps for all. yet a nice detail.
We felt safe, cared for and informed by 7fellsup's guide ... getting the best out of the magnificant nature at Äkaslompolo.

We booked an evening snowshoe tour with nordic dinner in a hut, and it was truly an amazing experience. The guide knew interesting stories about the Sami, and the food prepared over open fire was delicious. We were lucky to see the Northern Lights when coming back to the car, and plenty time was given to enjoy this spectacle, rounding up this perfect evening.

We did the trip to Kuer with our guide Anette. It was a wonderful experience, the silence of the forest and the beautiful views. Anette also had a lot to tell us about the forest, Finnish nature and which animals leave which tracks in the snow. The homemade cakes were also very tasty.

If you want adventure and to walk in a white wilderness where no other person has ventured that day, where hare, foxes, otters and white grouse have gone before, in a spectacular landscape that takes your breath away, then you have to explore the fells and snowy environment on snowshoes in Akaslompolo! And we believe that there are no better or nicer people to take you there than Sabrina, Jarkko and their team at Seven Fells Up.
We have now been to Akaslompolo six times since 2016. We have been up all seven fells with them and each and every trip was a unique, amazing and unforgettable experience. Each one is a “total” experience , as not only are you walking in truly awe inspiring scenery but with expert guides who are eager to share their passion and knowledge of the landscape, nature and folklore of Finnish Lapland. And as if that wasn’t enough, you get the opportunity to relax in a cosy kota with a roaring log fire and eat delicious homemade Lappish specialities . So much care and thought goes into each trip.
Their programme has something for all ages. A couple of years ago we were lucky enough to take our 3 grandchildren, ages 12, 11 and 6 , to this beautiful place. The trip with Sabrina to Varkaankuru was wonderful, thoughtfully tailored to their abilities and they all had the time of their lives. It was definitely an experience that we will all never forget.

Just returned from the 5 day snowshoe hut to hut trekking and fell in love with the white, peaceful Arctic landscape! An unforgettable trip with a great group of people and our guides who took into account individual needs and made sure that everyone felt comfortable, safe and supported throughout.
Food was bountiful and delicious and included many local delicacies! The accommodation in the huts very cosy with a fireplace and the highlight a sauna in the wilderness cooling down with snow angels!
Last but not least...communication with Sabrina was excellent as she helped me organise my stay before and after the trip, as I stayed longer due to my flight schedule.
All in all an amazing experience with great value for money!

We were recommended by a local guide to contact 7 Fells Up for off-trail snowshoeing tours, and it was a great tip that we happily pass on to others. We did two snowshoeing tours with them in mid March after speaking with their wonderful organizer, Sabrina. The first adventure was an evening tour to see the northern lights from a higher elevation. As the snow kept falling we were never able to see any northern lights, but it was a great opportunity to try off-trail snowshoeing in very fresh snow with our friendly guide, Adrien, who also brought along blueberry juice, Sabrina’s famous homemade cloudberry cakes, and sausages to grill over the fire in one of the area’s many “kotas”. Our second snowshoeing tour was a half-day event up one of the “fells”. Our very spirited and knowledgable Finnish guide Päivi led the way as we snowshoed off-trail upwards through the forest to a kota just below the tree line where we took a break for grilled reindeer sandwiches and more of Sabrina’s cloudberry cakes. They are to die for by the way. After that we continued up over a moonlike landscape to the top of the fell through untouched snow, beautiful sunshine and stunning panoramic views of Lapland. At the top we had a 360° view and could spot all of the other nearby fells. We then descended the mountain taking a different route while Päivi gladly told us more about the wilderness and the wildlife we were seeing, including a soaring Sea Eagle, an evasive, hard-to-spot Willow grouse and a Northern Woodpecker just meters away from us but too busy pecking for insects to pay us any attention. She also explained to us the concept of Kello trees. Both snowshoeing tours were true highlights of our trip to Ylläs, and we too highly recommend 7 Fells UP. Thank you Sabrina for everything. Vielen Dank für alles. Tusind tak!

Aitoa Lappia, jossa hienoa vaeltaa pientenkin lasten kanssa (Orava Avenue lähtee päätöstä ja vie taukotuvalle, jossa tulistelupaikka)./ Real Lapland with awesome fell views all around. Easy to hike with children also (check Orava Avenue ..it starts from the main Road before the hotel and leads to a cottage with camp Firenze place) . Safe to hike as you can see faraway ..so few trees. Can see reindeers if lucky. Good place to snowshoeing also if not foggy weather. Hart to find overnight places as only one hotel.

Hetta Huskies, located near the Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park in the town of Hetta, offers an unforgettable experience with their well-cared for dogs. Visitors can enjoy a thrilling husky sleigh ride through picturesque landscapes and even learn to drive their own sleds after receiving instructions. The friendly and professional team provides insight into the history of the dogs before the ride and allows ample time to interact and cuddle with the affectionate animals.
We had a fantastic day with Hetta huskies. They obviously care a lot about their dogs and it was great to hear about the history of some of the dogs before our sled ride.
Husky sledding is one of the best experiences you can have in the Arctic and that part of the visit was incredible fun.

So flexible and we did get a little tour. Cuddling with the pups. Taking the huskies back to their spot after sledding. The huskies are sooo sweet, very social and beautiful! What an amazing place. Great experience. It is definitely worth the money. The sleigh ride was great and it's a lot of fun to drive your own sleigh. Before the husky sleigh ride starts you get instructed how to drive your own sleigh and a tour through the farm with the 190 dogs. The dogs are super nice and after the ride there is enough time to cuddle. The dogs were very excited all the time and loved the cuddles as much as we. We booked the 6k tour which took about 45min but we spent around 2:30h at the farm.

Amazing experience that was orchestrated beautifully by a commited and engaged team.
We did the 2-day husky safari and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely dogs, wild nature and perfect organization. Carmen, Neila (Hopefully got the names right) and fellow team members were great and do their job with a lot of enthousiasm and care. You can clearly see the professionalism in how they organize a trip, prepare the tracks and take care of the dogs. A lot of respect for maintaining this one the long days and during extreme cold.
We fell in love with the dogs (primarily Jumbo, Bagheera, Jester, Ragnar, Oreo, Quest) and miss them already. Admiring to see how the team manages and takes care of +- 200 dogs. A lot of thought goes into Hetta huskies and the result is extremely happy and cuddlish dogs!
Would recommend this anyone since it was an experience we will deeply cherish! Be prepared for a little work and a little less comfort and you will enjoy it greatly!!

Visited Hetta Huskies for the second time and loved it every bit as much as for the first time! I've included a husky sleigh experience to my yoga retreats twice now and the feedback has been phenomenal!
The way the dogs are taken care of here melts my heart, so much dedication and love for the working dogs! We absolutely adored the fact that we got so much information while going around the farm area and that we got to be involved afterwards as well.
The actual sleigh driving experience is both exciting and safe - seeing that we are followed all the times with snow mobiles and monitored carefully in case we'd need any assistance makes it so much more fun when there's no need to be anxious that we would get lost or somehow wouldn't be able to manage the dogs.
Love for dogs has brought people together to run a very smoothly working husky experience that provides so much joy and happy memories, thank you to all of the people and dogs that made it possible, you are highly apperciated!
Juhls' Silvergallery AS is a stunning building with unique architecture, designed and built by Regine and Frank Juhls. The gallery showcases traditional-style and modern silver jewelry and handicrafts, as well as a fine collection of Asian carpets and artifacts. The walk to Treriksrøysa starting at the E8 in Norway via the DNT Goldahytta cabin and returning to Kilpisjärvi in Finland through the Malla Strict Nature Reserve is about 26km in total and can be done in a day. The only things that make this walk demanding are the distance and the at times uneven terrain. Poles will be of advantage.
Both trails are well marked and heavily trodden, getting lost is not a concern.

We used kilpisjarvi safari and went as a group of over 20 people. Well organised trip with all your gear provided. Be sure to have hand and toe warmers. Also, thermals are a must !

Outstanding Place, the 3 countries border. Great views during winter, by Snowmobile, starting from Kilpisjarvi...about 15km...

Great experience. We snowshoed there, 22 km round trip, but you can also take a Snowmobile safari from Klipisjärvi.

Nestled at the crossroads of Norway, Sweden, and Finland, the three-country cairn stands as a poignant symbol of unity among nations. This unpretentious stone monument not only delineates the meeting point of diverse cultures but also encapsulates the enduring spirit of cooperation that defines these lands. While its appearance may be unassuming, the cairn's importance resonates deeply, reminding us of the power of diplomacy in a world often marred by discord.
For intrepid explorers, reaching this geographical trifecta involves a scenic journey. A mere 45-minute boat ride or a leisurely 3-kilometer walk opens up the opportunity to bask in the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The path, thoughtfully designed, ensures an accessible journey suitable for most. Along the way, the chance encounters with indigenous wildlife, like reindeer and other creatures, infuse the trek with a touch of enchantment.
Venturing to this three-country cairn is more than just a geographical adventure; it's an immersion in the cultural tapestry that threads these nations together. Standing at this intersection, travelers partake in a unique experience that intertwines history, geography, and unity, leaving an indelible mark on their journey.

Go in winter on skis. It's great! There's a marked cross country ski trail all of the way across the lake that's really flat. It's 10-11km each way, it's well signposted and there are information signs showing the route with a map along the road.
Plus it's fun to run around 😂

Northest point of Sweden and also border line of three countries was great way of ending our summer trip hitchhiking whole Sweden :) It is place with beautiful scenery.
A nice half an hour walk up to the Gorsabrua bridge to experience the scenic landscape. The view is especially great when you're hanging there in the middle of the canyon, adrenaline still pumping from the bungee jump. All of this carried out by this super friendly and professional crew. Definitely worth a try!

What an absolute gem of a place!
A stunning location for bungee jumping.
Everything ran by super friendly and professional individuals.
Oh, and do not hesitate to straight away book the second jump. The first one is such a great experience already. The second one - backflip - incredible and 1000% of pure awesomeness!

Absolutely awesome experience. We visited the place outside the bungee jump hours, so there wasn't that many people around. If you're not into jumping, I recommend visiting some other day when there isn't jumpers around as you can enjoy the views from the bridge in peace. Walk to the bridge is filled with nice views and there is also a fireplace with seats in some point of the trail. Highly recommended! PS. People with fear of heights might feel some anxiety on the bridge as the canyon is really deep :)

Очень интересное и красивое место: ущелье, водопад, мост. От последней парковки 1,8 км пешком по приятной тропе. Есть места для пикников.
Friendly staff with a fun, dry sense of humor. They’re knowledgeable and patient with beginners though they’ll happily adjust to the more advanced skill set.

The ice climbing trip is just a fantastic experience and a must if you are visiting the area. I have done this previously and will be happy to do it again. A big thank you to Ulla and Mikal because you made this a very enjoyable and memorable day last Sunday. Your expertise gave me the confidence and reassurance in the climb.
Also a big thank you to Jem for the tour on the snowmobile. Unfortunately the warm weather made the conditions not ideal but It was still a great day from start to finish.
All of the activities that I have done have been first class but it is the people at Lyngen Adventure that make it so much more.
You guys are the biz.

We booked the ice climbing experience just after New year's and had an incredible outing. At the office in Lyngseidet we were fitted with the necessary equipment and then our group of five was driven to a trailhead where we started our access to the frozen waterfall. The two guides set up topropes (safest way of climbing, no risk of a fall) and then we took turns up the ice. We started in arctic winter dusk/dawn and climbed into the dark before we retreated into a Lavvu (traditional Sami tent) for a fire, soup and traditional local snacks on reindeer hides. The guys not only took care of our safety but gave a lot of insights into the local flora, fauna, culture and other topics of interest. All in all a wonderful trip that we can recommend to any outdoorsy traveller in the Lyngen Alps.
The program offered by Lyngen Adventure far exceeded our expectations.

What a wonderful adventure for the day. A shorter distance to Tromso than many of the others at just <60 mins. Incredible views of the fjord on the way out with an informative local driver. The operation is a smaller family run business and we got close support for the ride. The dogs were so beautiful! Recommend to all.

Amazing experience! Cosmos is a super nice guy, easy to talk with, responsible, cheerful and a great host. He picked up us at Tromsø, driving us through beautiful fiords to the place of the activity.
There's wasn't enough snow the first days of November so we used a car with wheels instead the normal sled.
Cosmos cares a lot about his dogs and maintain this activity for very smalls group. I've done dog sledding before in Russia, but this experience was very different and super fun!
After a long ride, we fed the dogs, played a little bit with them and we were in for some cookies and hot chocolate, before driving us back to Tromsø.
I would advise you doing the dog sled with Cosmos, without any hesitation. No matter your age, you'll have a great time!
Cheers Cosmos and see you next time!

Northern Light Dog Adventure does an exceptionally well dogsledding experience. These guys take pride in providing a small group experience and when we went it was just my wife and I which was great because they were able to personalize the experience to suite us. We took the sleds through all types of different, beautiful and challenging terrain and even took us to create new trails! The dogs seem very well taken care of too. If you enjoy the "real" experience, small groups and don't enjoy the large tourist traps this is the place for you.

We had a fantastic time with Thomas and his dogs. It's slightly more expensive than the touristy companies in central tromso, but it's so so much better and worth the extra money. You get a small group (it was just me and my girlfriend when we went) and you visit someone who is so passionate and knowledge about dog sledding. The dogs are all very clearly looked after and we very quickly fell in love with them all. You can see why he keeps 38...! Everything we needed was provided and Thomas was more than happy to take photos of us to keep as memories. Would 100% recommend the musher for a day experience to anyone.

This is a must visit place if you in the area. Thomas and his furry children made the ride smooth and worry free. Amazing views. Everything is well organized, instructions given were clear. Just use common sense, natural balance, control the speed and enjoy the ride.

Highly recommend.
Very personal experience. Not out to put through the most amount of people a day. One group a day, that's it.
Thomas is knowledgeable and tells stories of his dog sled racing days after the trip.
Snacks and drinks provided.
Awesome time.

This is honestly one of my most favorite things we did in Tromsø, the people were so warm and welcoming. The dogs are super excited to get running, and once you are controlling the sled, its an amazing experience! Amazing place and amazing people. Would seriously recommend this to everyone who is in the area.

Dog sledding at this place was one of the best activities during our trip. It's hosted by father and son whose names I unfortunately don't remember. They are really friendly and funny, gave us instructions on the sledding in the beginning. They have 37 dogs, who couldn't wait to go running, they were very hyped and friendly, we pet them all after the sledding when they calmed down. At the end we went inside to get some refreshments and talked to the hosts a bit. They explained everything about the dog sledding, the racing and their way of life. The dogs are very well cared for. I definitely recommend this fantastic experience!
