Always a nice place to go. Lots of space and fun for kids, except in the summer holidays. Then its really crowded and people aren't very friendly sometimes...
But the classes are great and the people who work there are very friendly.

Very cool place. Loved the pools and large variety of saunas. Saunas could be also bit more diverse- with different humidities. A lot of saunas were different just with temperature and theme. I liked it a lot i had very relaxing evening. Everything was clean and very nice.
Be careful and drink enough water when you go to saunas.

Ok, I have some complaints.
First it was very annoying that the parking next to the HolstenTherme is open, there are no signs whatsoever that its not allowed to park there, but we did and after we were inside getting ready to enter they had us move the car. Please put a clear sign.
Second, the price for renting towels is too expensive. 7€ for the robe, 5€ for the towel and god knows how much the sandals. I find it very expensive.
Third, the salt water pool is not included in the price. It's 2.5€ per 20 min. I find it quite bad that after paying 40€ (ticket plus towels) they still want to charge extra for that pool. And again, I didnt see any sign whatsoever about that.
For those three reasons, dissatisfied. The saunas are good though

The swimming pools are amazing.
Slides amazing
Outdoor swimming amazing.
Changing rooms easy to navigate even for English speaker.
Very well priced
We had a really really good time with our little baby
Our only problem is the restaurant.
We got all settled in the restaurant and They only had German menu which is fine. But when using our phone to try and translate the menu behind the desk was told 'no stop'. We then asked do they have an English menu was told 'no'.. again fine but we can't order if you want let us translate with our phone.... So had to walk out.
Don't understand as we phone was facing the menu no one else was in the restaurant

Very nice thermal bathes, not big though. We were Saturday and there was many guests with many children, a bit loud and crowded. The water was hot, comparatively with other Thermen. The food was ok, we had curry sausage with frensh fries. Good prices and friendly service and staff. I'd recommend it in week days, not on weekends.

My friend and I walked into the front door. Then a guy came behind us and with a rude tone asked us to get out. He said he has to check our vaccination first. The way he said it was like it was our fault waking into a wide open door to a sauna.
There were no one guiding the guests to the right direction and he was making us wrong. Bad organization and customer service.

Super Nice place different country room for sauna and big water park for kids … we enjoy so much

Great kids experience. Absolutely terrific sauna landscape, but with nudity requirements (typical for germany).

Our favourite family place. Very peaceful during the workdays. Plenty of amenities for all. Clean and well organised. Personnel is friendly and very helpful. External pool is amazing during night. Sauna world is a great place to relax. Strongly recommend this place for families. Couples should try sauna world in winter.

Everything was ver nice! That is the most clean wellness center I have ever seen, of course we went on a Monday which is not so crowded but still you can see they take care of the place! The stuff was very polite and helpful and I loved how the place has so many different styles to relax! Also the price is quite fair for what you get! I am taking one star away because the sauna programs was like everything the same ,boring and never on time! We were there sitting and waiting for the people to come slowly and make the program! Also there was no rule for staying quiet as a result some rude people to talk o laugh loud and none of the stuff do anything! Bit annoying! And one more reason that the bar was a little expensive! I mean 2,40€ for a small glass tap water is waaay too much! Above all that was a place I highly recommend and you should try

I loved the heated salt water pool as well as some of the saunas and infusions. Was very busy but still managed to find some space. The restaurant and seating area was not well-designed and I didn’t like sitting there. Food was okay but not great.
A really nice little “mall town”.
It feels very much like a nice little village, if every building was a designer clothes store. It really uses the Disneyland trick to kinda close off the outside world to make you relaxed and feel encapsulated in the shopping feel, of course on a much smaller scale but still.
There’s even a very impressive playground, to entertain the children while the parents shop.
Also nice food options there where nice pizzas in the back of the compound, and a Five Guys burger joint whose burgers I can really recommend.
Samuel Wollenberg — Google review
Beautiful place with alot of designer shops and food courts. There is alot of parking available inside and on the next building you which is quite affordable. It’s really fun and beautiful of you visit around Christmas although on weekends it’s very busy.
mercy kariuki — Google review
Great selection of brands. Selection in stores good also. Best of all was the way they set up the outlet. I expected storage buildings but it’s more like a small town where you walk outdoors between shops. There’s an opportunity to buy hamburgers, pizza and crepes but we found no real good. Prices are decent.
René Færch — Google review
Such a nice village
Get lost around the shops
Get hungry and get some loaded fries or waffles
I do agree with some others that the parking is over priced and should actually be free if you have shopped in the village, they should validate your ticket, if you haven't bought anything then it's fine pay the fine 😊
Doany brands to choose from
Here is definitely something for everyone
Nice enough as well that they have toilets located everywhere and unlikely in Germany they are free.

Really nice place to shop international brands. Few hours drive from Denmark. Good facilities and small play area for kids

Beautiful shopping village. Many shops & cafés.
Great bargains 👍
Not as big as metzingen outletcity but it's close to Hamburg, hence convenient.
If you travel via public transport, a bus shuttle service takes you to the outlets directly from the train station.

It's really nice place who are brand lovers. All Brands at Same place! What a Cool Thing! While Visiting Outlet City one should have ample time because it takes alot of time to visit each store.
There are some vending machines to eat and drink. There are free of cost WC. There are designated places for small kids to play.

Love the small streets. Good shops and most of it pretty cheap as well. Not too big, which is a huge plus. Great parking, although I don’t get the fee (4 euros)… 🤷🏼♀️

Designer Outlet Neumünster is a shopper's dream come true! This outlet offers a fantastic retail therapy experience with its diverse range of high-end brands at discounted prices.
The layout of the outlet is well-planned, making it easy to navigate through the various stores. The wide selection of shops, from fashion to home goods, ensures that there's something for every taste and preference. The ambiance is inviting, and the open-air setting adds a pleasant touch to the shopping experience.
What truly sets Designer Outlet Neumünster apart is the exceptional customer service. The staff members are not only friendly and approachable but also knowledgeable about the products and willing to assist. Whether you're a fashionista or just browsing, their hospitality adds an extra layer of enjoyment to your visit.
The discounts and deals available are impressive, making it a cost-effective way to indulge in your favorite brands. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of items available at such attractive prices. It's a great place to score some fantastic deals on designer pieces.
The amenities, including restaurants and cafes, provide a welcome break during your shopping spree. The overall cleanliness and maintenance of the outlet are commendable, contributing to a pleasant and comfortable shopping environment.
Designer Outlet Neumünster is a must-visit destination for fashion enthusiasts and bargain hunters alike. It's an enjoyable shopping experience with a touch of luxury, and I can't wait to return for my next shopping adventure!

It was nice to explore the designer outlet with lucrative offers on some luxury brands and various buying choices.
Utsa Chattopadhyay — Google review
We came here early around 1030am and all the outdoor parking is already full so we had to park in the carpark building on the opposite side of the Outlet. Do expect traffic jam as this is super auto centric area. There is women exclusive parking spot on the groundfloor of the carpark but somehow a lot of men park there. Free umbrella provided on a bad weather. By the time we exit at 1400 the carpark building was so full, that there is a queue to enter.
Unfortunately, i didnt snap any pic here as it was constantly raining.
On the price tag, there will be 2 prices attached. One is standard retail price and another is outlet price which is normally 10% cheaper. If you are lucky, there are also a third price tag, sales price, where the price would be up to 70% off. No discount on food, standard price for 5guys and Starbucks. Is it worth travelling here? Yes, if you want or need to shop a lot of new clothe, shoe or kitchenware. Do come in a group so it makes the travelling worthwhile.

Cozy place if you live near to do some shopping but I don't recommend to come if you're looking for good designer's deals. Very expensive
The International Maritime Museum (IMMH) is a great place to learn about Hamburg's maritime history and all things related to the sea. The museum is housed in the city's oldest warehouse, which dates back to the 1600s. The exhibits cover a range of topics, from ancient boats recovered from the Elbe River to models of ships and submarines. There's also a simulator where you can steer a container ship around the world.
We spent 5 hours in this museum and felt like we need one more day. Has lot of pieces displayed, lot of history to learn and very beautiful rooms. You should definitely visit International Maritime Museum from Hamburg. Better start in the morning so you will get to see all its beautiful ships and exposure.

An impressive exhibit. It was very well laid out, but be ready to take your time and walk a bit. There are both German and English translation interpretive signs through most of the building. They had so many beautiful maritime paintings throughout the museum. They also have a small kids area on one floor. However, kids under 5 would have a difficult time staying interested for long.
Amy Redmond — Google review
It was very exciting to visit a museum with many works related to Germany's maritime history. We visited the museum by going down from the top floor and as we were leaving, I felt my feet hurting. The squeaking sounds as you walk around the wooden floors of the museum building take you on a mysterious journey in maritime history. I think it is a museum that everyone, especially those who love maritime, should see.
Güven Öztaş — Google review
Museum has incredible selection of pieces about maritime history across 9 floors. Starting from 50000 (!!) ship models to different navigation devices.
As someone who’s passionate about ships, I’ve spent 3 hours in the museum and wished I had more time to explore.
Highly recommend for all ages.
Ksenia Vinichenko — Google review
Marvelous museum with tons of stuff for people interested in the maritime world. I was a little overwhelmed by the 9 (!) large floors of exhibits. Please eat and drink and strengthen yourself before you come or you'll burn out quickly. 😀 Well done, gorgeous historic building, which justifies in my opinion the 15 EUR entry fee.
S Muller — Google review
Honestly, this wasn't really my cup of tea. It is, however, a great museum for those who are interested (such as my partner, who loved it). There's a lot of models, miniatures, paintings and so much more. You can spend hours inside as it has 9 levels to explore. The building itself is beautiful as well. Staff is friendly and there's a rather big souvenir shop and a place to eat, as well.
Lissa Adriaensens — Google review
If you like boats, you'll love it. If you don't like boats, you'll still he fascinated by the complexities of maritime history. The museum is well set out and has English descriptions. There are stairs and lifts to see the exhibits on each floor. You can easily spend 3 hours taking it in. There is both a gift shop and a cafe in the reception.

One of the best museums ever visited. Ideal for those who appreciate the evolution of a technology from early ages to the modern day. Goes without saying how the past world wars have had a huge push in these innovations and developments.
The museum has more than 7 floors of all interesting showcases, need to budget enough time to visit.
Siavash Yousefi — Google review
I never thought I’d spend most of the day here, and I wanted to leave on a number of different occasions, but the models kept me there. There must be 1,000s of models of all different sizes. I’d get sick of seeing them and want to leave, then I’d see another one that kept me there. It was like a love hate relationship. The meticulous workmanship on such a grand and tiny scale is amazing. There was also quite a bit of learning from the different display, but it was the models for me.
Michael Blair — Google review
I’m not a big fan of ships, but this museum is just amazing! It has 9 levels of exhibition, so you can spend here the whole day 🙌🏻 moreover, it is allowed to go outside and come back within one day without extra fee! Would love to visit it it again.
P.S. the lady that checked our tickets was so nice and explained a lot about this museum 😅 if you’ll be there definitely talk to her too
Olena Kamenetska — Google review
A detailed museum covering the nautical history of Hamburg and the United German states. Particularly recommended for those interested in the subject matter, but still plenty to see for those new to the topic. Concise and with information in English. The museum is quite large and worth the price of admission. Can get discounts through the hamburg card

I had an amazing time at the Maritime Museum in Hamburg! It was a delightful surprise with a vast collection of ship models. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised to find discounted entrance in the afternoon. The only minor hiccup was that everything was in German, but it didn't diminish the overall experience. Would definitely recommend, A must-visit for maritime enthusiasts! ⚓🌊

Huge museum! Make sure you have good shoes on! This is how museums should be! Well designed, loads to see, huge variety of objects. Every floor brought new themes to explore. Definitely plan more than three hours for this must see museum. Staff were very friendly and helpful. As a British visitor was grateful for many information points written in English, but would have liked more. If you visit Hamburg this should definitely be on your to-do list!

Amazing museum with 9 floors. You can see a lot of exhibitions about navy and ships. A lot pf interesting ship models here and the last floor shows the collection of ship models which is so nice. The museum is bigger than I thought can take up to 4 hours to visit everything

This museum I visited yesterday and it was incredible experience because I really into maritime history especially WW1 and WW2 periods. The exibitions were well-curated with wide range of artifacts and different periods works of art. The displays were informative and making it east to learn and observe.
There were some exhibitions with periodic marine uniforms, weapons and different variety of head gears especially interesting for me.
The museum also had well-stocked gift shop with wide section of interesting maritime items.
Overall this museum was excellent experience and I can highly recommend it to anyone interested in maritime history and development.
YarOK — Google review
An astounding collection of all things maritime. All superbly displayed in a vast and atmospheric historic warehouse. The sheer scale and quality of the collection is breathtaking: there are tens of thousands of ship models - and that's on the 9th floor alone. I only got to see half of it because there was simply too much to take in. Absolutely magnificent.

If you like marine life, you should definitely see this museum. Interesting for kids, too. You should spare Minimum 2 hours for a decent visit.
Ali Fazıl Böyet — Google review
An amazing experience. I really appreciate the world history element. Spent almost all the time I had in the first 2 plazas reading about maritime history from all over the world, and specially the European competition to "discover the route to India".
Stuti Sharma — Google review
Amazing place from warship to cargo vessels.
If your kids like ship, it is a “should visit” as they have a huge amount of ships model for your kids, they can tell you a lot of stories if they are really an expert. U-boot section is a MUST visit area for real gurus.
Don’t miss the historic board which you can see the scale of the number of warships being built for WWII, you will be shocked by it.
Knight N. Mogul — Google review
This has to be the biggest museum I’ve ever been to. Yes, as everyone already mention it has nine floors and each one is so interesting. We went around 12 in the morning and the ticket costed 8€ each since it was closing after 2 hours so I would say that was definitely worth it and we did manage to go through all the floors with a ticket half the price. Beautiful exhibition and definitely a must visit!
Anastasia — Google review
It’s a fascinating place with 9 floors of history! You’ll pretty much everything about ships, submarines, sailing boats, cargo ships and so on (even pirates). From the building part to the commercial and modern uses they have nowadays. Plus, it offers you an inside to the story of Hamburg as one of the most important ports in Germany and in Europe. It will make you understand even the economics and how trading has changed the world. Book the tickets in advance and if you get the Hamburg card, even better. Make sure to plan a bit beforehand since you can easily spend 3+ hours visiting the different exhibitions. Also, the museum is kid friendly so there are tons of interactive stations for the little ones with games and playful activities.
Alexa Carlos — Google review
Wonderful naval museum! Large with different themes such as History of navigation, merchant, military, rescue/security, weapons... with many models, videos, photos, replicas... very well organized in a nine-story building!
Hamburg's Chocolate Museum, Chocoversum by Hachez, is a fun and informative journey that takes visitors from the process of salting cocoa beans to creating their own sweet treats. It has a chocolate workshop where guests get to create their own bars of chocolate, as well as a gift shop full of delicious sweets.
So fun, informative and tasty! Our tour guide Linda was incredible! Such a cool experience! I

THE BEST CHOCOLATE TOUR EVER! I’ve done a good few factory and chocolate tasting tours but none of them stand out like this one! They explain everything thoroughly about how it’s made and you get to taste it on each part of its journey from the bean right up to a full piece of chocolate. The chocolate dust was my favourite!!! You also get to make a free bar and add your own toppings in to take home, such a fun experience and the chocolate here is delicious! Want to visit again!

We visited this place on a weekday, so it was not crowded, and we were a small group. We bought tickets for the English guided tour, and our tour guide was Ann-Cha. She was really sweet and kind. She welcomed us with a cookie and gave us the opportunity to pour chocolate on our cookie from the chocolate fountain, which was super delicious. We were shown every step from the production of the chocolate, from the cacao beans to the very end. We were also given the possibility to try everything on each phase, the raw beans also. We made our own chocolate bar. You can choose between milk or dark and put on it whatever you want and they gave it to us at the end of our tour. We were even shown the dark side of the production, the slavery, which I believe should not be forgiven.
It was a great experience, so I highly recommend this place and their delicious 🍫.

Right in front of the Chilehouse, very much worth the 90 minutes tour that they offer. Not only explanation of how chocolate is made, but also tasting of the whole process phases from bean to chocolate bar. They also make you personalize and give your personal chocolate bar 🍫. The girl explaining was really good.

Place to know how the chocolate is made. Has guided tours in English and German. Fun experience for both kids and grown ups. Good amount of knowledge is shared.
The tidiness of the place is amazing and we'll maintained. One of the must visit if you are in Hamburg and a chocolate lover.
Anjhana k — Google review
It was extremely fun and educational! Loved every part of it. The tour itself is 90 minutes long and we were given a step by step guide on from the time the cacao beans are harvested, to how it ended in our supermarket shelfs. They are also brave enough to show us the dark reality of the treatment of these cacao farmers and educate us to always purchase the fair trade chocolates.
Overall, a wonderful experience. Would recommend to anyone on a visit to Hamburg.

We had so much fun at Chocoversum, especially when decorating our bar of chocolate. It was such a nice and interactive tour. We also learned some new things. This was one of our favourite activities in Hamburg!

A nice and different place that you can visit in Hamburg for a very good experience.
They have German and English tours throughout the day, but have in mind that the English once’s are not that often, so you need to have a look beforehand. The price for the tour is definitely worth it as you will go from A to Z during your time there. You will even have the opportunity to make your own chocolate at the very beginning and have it ready when the tour ends. You will also have the opportunity to taste the products that the chocolate is made of and the final product at the end.
Definitely recommend for your To Do list in Hamburg!
Adelina Krasimirova — Google review
The most exciting part of the tour was definitely the chocolate tasting and the workshop. Although we had the best tour guide who explained and educated us everything about chocolate clearly and concisely, Sana, we wished to see and experience a more interactive tour. But all in all, it was short but sweet chocolate 🍫 tour

The experience is like visiting a chocolate museum. Don’t expect to eat too much chocolate. Just small taste samples and you get to make your own chocolate bar (it is just adding your chosen toppings to a bar of chocolate).
The tour is ok but it could use a bit of more fun.
I don’t recommend it for kids also.

The bathrooms are also very clean and you can leave your bags and coats 👌

Chocolate heaven.
You get a tour of how the chocolate was made in an hour and a half. There are so many choices to choose from.
Friendly staff. Clean bathroom.
It could get a bit pricey if you don't keep track of what you are putting into the bags.

A fantastic experience learning about the journey of chocolate, we attended the English tour and had the fabulous Mara M as our tour guide, she was brilliant, extremely funny and lovely and overall made the experience super enjoyable and interesting! She knew plenty of thanks and was really detailed and passionate about what she was talking about. The chocolate was incredible and was great fun tasting each part of the process chocolate goes through before we find it in the supermarket! The greatest natural resource in Hamburg! The 4.5 mile walk around the lake is as lovely as any of the many city lakes I have visited. Clearly a host of recreational and dining opportunities; however, the residential architecture surrounding the lake is also quite spectacular. Most impressive is the protective shoreline habitats created for waterfoul; particularly the famous lake swans! Well done, Hamburg!

Outer Alster Lake is the larger one of two artificial lakes, which are formed by the Alster River and are both located within the city limits of Hamburg. Its shores are used by the inhabitants of Hamburg for many sport and recreational purposes, such as sailing and rowing.

HafenCity is a vibrant city hub located in the port area, featuring an iconic concert hall and a revitalized historic warehouse district known as Speicherstadt. The International Maritime Museum, situated in this quarter, showcases a personal marine collection of Peter Tamm, including artifacts like paintings, artwork, and instruments related to the marine world.
The German U-boat, which was operational during World War II, serves as a historical and technical submarine museum. Despite its limited size, the museum is divided into various sections that provide visitors with an insight into the design of submarines and how their crew lived on board. It is a poignant reminder of the many lives lost during WWII. The submarine has been well-preserved but lacks adequate English translations to enhance visitor experience.
It’s an old submarine, that is open for a visit, as a museum. It’s not very big, but there are several sections. Its quite interesting to see how the submarine is designed, how people serve there, where they slept, ate, shower. Horrible to imagine, that in WW2 for many this kind of submarines became a grave.

I loved this Place - so cool to take a step back into History. So nice to see it preserved. Fun place to visit. The area is really beautiful. If you read book or watched a few U-Boot Movies most notable Das Boot. You can get a sense of how it must have been to live in one of these U-Boot. Especially under War times conditions. The where pretty sophisticated for the time - obviously U-Boots have come a long way since than. If you are in the area you should visit this Museum especially if you are a history buff. Also your visits helps in maintaining this Museum so others can enjoy it hopefully for many years to come. Worth a visit

Hello...2018...I visited U-995 with the idea of exploring the bowels of an old WWII sub...things were not so...being there made me think about life of those men...their fears and their joys...the machine and its mechanisms gave way to empathy with those warriors. I am grateful for having gone...I will always remember the cordiality of the employees of the memorial...the people of Laboe and from the Admiral Scheer hotel...today it is very expensive for me to return, but I don´t lose hope!! The war memorial is highly recommended. The vie from the top is breathtaking, you can see really far out into Schleswig-Holstein.
However the main attraction, the submarine itself was disappointing; they haven't really bothered with labels or information about the machinery. It was just a 1 minute walk through the submarine.

This German sub from 1942 is an absolute must to visit! You can easily visit it on the beach of Laboe, on the opposite harbour site of Kiel. Best to catch the direct ferry to go there, it's such a pleasure in fine weather. We previously visited the sowjet sub U434 in Hamburg. Even so the sowjet one was much bigger in size, more modern, build in 1976, it had a far more claustrophobic feeling. I know which one I'd rather be on 😁

The boat is in great condition inside and out. Because of the way its propped up you can go under it and view it from angles you normally cant (like U-2540 in Bremerhaven which is still afloat).

The Naval Memorial, built in 1936 to honour World War I sailors, is a noteworthy site that offers both historical and scenic value. This memorial pays tribute to the soldiers who fought for their countries at sea, and includes a tower with an observation deck that provides panoramic views of the Kiel area. Additionally, located nearby is the U-595 - the last remaining German U-boat - making this site even more significant for history enthusiasts.
Memorial for the German soldiers who perished during the war. Very meaningful place where one and reflect on the massive toll the war took. Highly recommend for those who are interested in war history.

In memory to the fallen soldiers. The memorial looks powerful and depressive. Inside there are some pictures and stories about the war time. I like the wall with many submarines, it shows how many of them sank. It is crazy. So many lost lives. The tower is quite high and inside is a bit creepy if you walk the stairs. The view from the tower is great. It is definitely worth seeing it.

A very interesting exhibit about the history of the German navy since the German Confederation until the present day, and a tower housing a memorial for the German sailors on both world wars. Unfortunately what should be a place of recollection and respect, especially the underground room, is used by children to run and shout without the control of their disrespectful parents.

Not too high up, has an elevator (but it only caries about three people at once, so there's probably a queue). The view from up top is amazing and definitely worth the visit.

The submarine was a little smaller than we expected, so it didn't take us too long to see it all, but the view from the tower was very beautiful, although you should take the elevator if you're not in shape as there are a lot of stairs to climb to the top! You should also be aware of the fact that you can only pay with cash, that's a minus from my point of view!! Overall it was a nice way to spend our sunday!
It was a fantastic trip back in time. Very impressive to see how they bring the wild west to live with horses and special effects in an open air theater lokated around a rock. Just beautiful especially at night and definitely fun for everyone.

I was here for the first time to such a show and location. The moment I arrived I noticed the souvenir shops (that are mainly for children), the typical food stands with typical German fast food(no döner). The open air theatre stage is very big with multiple buildings and a train. The show had modern jokes for the parents. The uses of pyrotechnics and the animals were grate. Grate atmosphere and a grate place to spend a complete evening at.

Small but truly historical. This structure was completed in the 1400 and it's just amazing to be able to go inside and get a feel of how life was back then. It felt like being inside an old castle.

Imposing structure that you cannot miss walking into Lubeck's central square from the train station. Definitely built to denote strength and power and while it's sagging into its centre, looks like it'll still.be around 500 years from now. Holstentor is the western gate of the fortified medieval city which was the capital of entire Hansaetic League of Baltic cities for centuries.
Dating back to 1464, it is considered one of the most beautiful medieval gates in all Germany, and for that reason was even on the back side of the old 50 DM banknote.
The gate is really stunning - fairy tale like and little bit leaned.
Inside is a small historic museum with models and history explanation and great gift shop. The outer face has gun openings for city protection, while the inner face is richly decorated. Perfect photo op both, day and night
Dejan Braki — Google review
I didn't go in to the building - not sure it was even open to be honest as both times I walked through there were no obvious signs. The building is one of the old city gates and the emblem of modern Lubeck. It is a very impressive, brick built fifteenth century fortification but now stands in isolation, the city walls having been removed in the nineteenth century.
There is an interesting contrast between the inside and outside walls of the building. The walls facing the city have lots of windows and are very ornate, the exterior walls have far fewer openings other than those for guns. There are also doubts over the accuracy of the early twentieth century restorations.

St. Peter's is right in the center of Lubeck and is one of the oldest Churches in the area dating back to 12c. After WWII devastations it was rebuilt, but seized with Church services, so you'll see a huge whitewashed interiors used for public and private events.
I highly recommend visiting its tower which for a reasonable fee offers fantastic 360' views of Lubeck. There's an elevator taking you up.

The highlight of the church is actually the viewing platform at the top. After some short stairs there is an elevator that takes you to the top for 5 eur. Highly recommend as it's the only tower in town that you can go up. Impressive city views. At the bottom is a small cafe with some light food, flavored salts and a small gift shop. Dogs not allowed. Highly recommend!

St. Peter's Church is most known because its viewing platform which offers the best view over Lübeck all the way to the Baltic Sea. This Roman church, once three-naved, was built between 1227 and 1250 and expanded in the 15th and 16th centuries to a five-naved Gothic hall church. It was destroyed during the Second World War, restoration work was only completed in 1987.
From outside is really beautiful, from inside almost nothing interesting. However it is worth to go up to viewing platform.
Paweł — Google review
The viewing platform on the tower is the main attraction, for us at least, at this church. Instead of glass there is a wide grille around the windows so it is a lot easier to take photos than some other attractions. There is a lift to the top - luckily - and the staff were both lovely and spoke excellent English. The church itself is heavily restored after WW2 and seems it has yet to find a new purpose. There was some sort of art exhibit inside but it wasn't really clear what it was about.

The church itself is empty - with the exception of temporary exhibitions but there weren’t any when I visited - but for 5 euros you can reach the church tower by lift for a view over Lübeck. The view was nice but not worth the price as you are up there for only a few minutes.
Lubeck's most important church, Marienkirche, is a beautiful Gothic structure that was rebuilt after almost being destroyed by the RAF during WWII. The intricate details of the brick-vaulted roof are what fascinate people, rather than the sheer size and height of the building.
Amazing interior. So high are the towers that they can almost touch the sky.
Munteanu Catalin — Google review
Amazing monumental church with a lot of other interesting things to see inside. I think it worth the price of admission (4 euro). It's a must see if you visit Lübeck and you are interested in history and architecture.

A monumental church with a few curiosities including a spectacular wall clock and a bell that’s fallen from the tower, crashed into the floor and left there for everyone to see. The height of the ceiling absolutely defies belief and gravity. Stunning setting during Christmas as the markets surround the church

KH Chong — Google review
Marienkirche is the third-largest church in Germany, and one of the five large Gothic brick churches in Lübeck. The interior is stunning and learning the history of it was so interesting. During an air raid, a lot of the church was destroyed but it's been beautifully restored. During my time at the church, they were restoring another facade as well. There is a reconstruction of the Danse Macabre, and also some beautiful reliefs of the Last Supper and some statues of Mary, Gabriel, etc. I'm a huge fan of Bach and I was delighted to read that Bach may have come to Marienkirche to play the now-destroyed Totentanzorgel (Danse Macabre organ). I believe they also have services in Marienkirche, although I went on a weekday so I'm not 100% positive. Based on signage, I would say so. I recommend stopping in to learn about the history of Lübeck and the church, or even to sit in on a service! I'm going to come back perhaps to see the other four churches.

St. Mary's Church which was built between 1250 and 1350 is the third largest church in Germany. It and has always been a symbol of the power and prosperity of the old Hanseatic city. Entrance is ticketed, 4 eur per person but it is without doubt worth to enter and see its magnitude from every corner inside.
Paweł — Google review
Out of 7 spires that dominate Lubeck skyline, two of them belong to St. Mary's Church.
The Church was built in a time frame of 100 years between 1260 and 1350, replacing the 1200's smaller Chapel.
Lubeck's St. Mary's is considered a cornerstone of German Gothic brick Churches.
It was built according to French Gothic Churches with outer supporting arches but with use of bricks instead of stone. Likewise, the interiors feature the world's tallest brick vaults.
St. Mary's suffered a total destruction in WWII, but was rebuilt shortly after the war.
Two huge bells which fell from the Tower during the bombing are kept in one of the Chapels inside.
TIP: You wont notice the St. Mary's sheer size from the ground as it's packed in downtown area. To appreciate it's size observe it from St. Peters tower which has the best city views.
The only reason I deduct one star is paying entrance fee of 4 Euros

This is a huge church but it's crammed into the streets nearby so it's difficult to get an idea of the scale. Inside the church is vast - apparently the largest brick built vault in the world. The interior is whitewashed and then decorated but in a very understated way. There are a few small chapels to the side, an interesting altarpiece (I think), a recreated astronomical clock and World War 1 memorial. Definitely worth a visit to see the wealth of the Hanseatic merchants.
Lively Innenstadt is Lübeck’s medieval old town, known for its courtyards, alleys, and squares lined with ornate gabled buildings. Among its many landmarks are the 1400s Holstentor gate, home to a city history museum, Gothic churches like the towering Marienkirche, and the 1286 Heiligen-Geist-Hospital. The Museum Harbor has historic sailing ships, while small specialist shops and German restaurants dot the area.

Anyway we decided to come by 14:30.
It is good place inside: several slides, “lazy” river, big swimming pool, the little ones with warm water.
There is a cafe and a shop inside, saunas.
The good quality of service. All staff look like a qualified and pay very close attention to safety.
The one moment which was not very good is the air temperature. Sometimes it is too cold, especially when the temporary staff (builders) (dresssed in the winter jackets) open the emergency exit door.
Please pay attention: if you don’t want to pay for the towels - bring it from home.

We are going to come and relax here and the swimming pool is closed for half a day. So from 08.01 to 11.01 it will work from 14:30 only. And the children swimming pool and waves pool are closed too.
The information about it is available only inside the Swimming pool. The google maps (which was updated a week ago) shows the swimming pool open. The same situation was on the official website.

All restaurant staff were friendly, but we had some run ins with the official resort staff, which just seemed to be annoyed at us being there.

Pretty nice place with a decent variety of activities for children. A good playground, carousels and scooter cars for 1€ a turn. The Subtropichen Badeparadis was unfortunately closed during our stay, because of the pandemic, but the Dsjungelland (Jungle land) wasn't - which was a great succes.
We didn't eat at the restaurants on site, but they looked mediocre and slightly overpriced, as expected. The cafés were mediocre and overpriced.
The Dünenbad wellness swimmingpools were nice and child-friendly.
Our room, which was 'am der Düne' was spacy and comfortable, however the floors were sandy upon arrival, which made us question the overall cleanliness.
The area was lively, but not noisy, mainly occupied by families with pre-teenage children.
We had a good time here, despite the weather letting us down for the stay.

Great Atmosphere. There are rides for all ages and great food (which is a little expensive though). The overall experience is great every time, the rides are themed amazingly, especially because of the great IMAscore soundtracks. It doesn't have lots of thrill-rides to offer, only 3 coasters and the drop tower. But those are great, especially Kärnan and Novgorod. I hope the park gets more thrill-rides in the future.
Hypagon — Google review
Overall a very very pleasant experience, for the most part, only a very few nit-picks. Park was decently full but not crowded. A very nice variety of rides, flat rides and coasters. Very efficient and fast operations especially at the coasters, with Nessie being the one exception. The very open and big, weirdly split entrance area and station made getting in line very annoying and all over the place, especially when you take the wrong turn if you didn't know where to go and suddenly you're no longer queued for the last row, also had a kind of long waiting time with slow operation. Every other coaster, especially Flucht von Novgorod had very accurate waiting times listed at the entrance and veeery fast operation and nice staff! Only sad thing is that the highlight of the park "Oath of Kärnan" wasn't open for the start of the Season, quite a massive letdown. Not sure if it was because of maintenance or if a car suddenly valleyd during testing that morning, was just very weird to see an empty car at such a high point of the coaster during open times of the part and there not really being any explanation for it except for "Unavailable today". But other than that a really nice park and we're definitely coming back, but certainly later into the season to hopefully ride Kärnan again soon.

Nice park, not too big, fair prices inside - entry is a bit expensive at full cost, but there are several cool rides. Staff very non-enthusiastic and could be more smiling and tentive.
Built between 1270 and 1426, the St.-Marien-Dom zu Schwerin - Ev.-Luth. Domgemeinde Schwerin is an impressive example of Brick Gothic architecture. This Protestant church boasts beautiful Roman-inspired design both inside and out, and offers visitors the opportunity to climb its tower for panoramic views of Schwerin from a lofty height.
A very beautiful Roman architectural church! There are so many things to see inside... The tower can be climbed on foot for a pseudo-panaromic view of Schwerin. Definitely worth a visit. This church is visible from ong distances when you stp out of the main station.

Lutheran Church. You can climb the bell tower for a small fee. You have to take 200+ steps to reach the observation deck, but it's worth the effort. At about 2/3 of the climb you can have a look at the bells of the church. It makes a lot of noise when the bells are rang.

Great Dom in the very center of Schwerin. Couldn't enter, but still an impressive building

Beautiful stained glass windows. The tower is worth a visit, view is really good. The tower costs 2€ and there are 219 steps, no elevator. But if you like high places and a good view, it's worth it. They also have brochures about the church history in several languages. The church closes quite early (at three on a Sunday) so check the times before you go.

There are so many beautiful angles to see this church from all throughout the city :) It's also beautiful to see inside. I happened to be in town with a friend when they hosted a civic event commemorating the first demonstrations in Schwerin. We got to hear the former president of Germany speak as well as the organ and a live orchestra.

The Schwerin Castle is a magnificent Neo-Renaissance structure situated on an island. It boasts of lavish rooms, a notable art collection from Europe, and well-manicured gardens. The castle's woodworking is remarkable, evident in the intricate animal carvings and parquet floors. Visitors can tour the opulent throne room and family trees that lead to meetings with the Grand Dukes and Duchesses.
Beautiful place. Really well kept castle, its clearly often renovated to keep in a perfect condition. The castle and the surrounding gardens have a really unique atmosphere, no matter the time of the year. You can almost forget that it's XXI century and feel like you went back in time.

A very beautiful castle and is worth a visit. Visitors can walk around the castle grounds for free. The castle is well maintained and so are the lawns, gardens and fountains. Expect to spend at least half a day or more as the grounds are huge.

An extremely interesting castle located on the island. The number of towers is simply amazing, they look light and harmoniously fit into the ensemble of the castle, the surrounding garden, sculptures and landscape design. Entrance to the castle costs 8.5 euros. Inside you will see several very interesting rooms, including the throne room. This castle is worth a visit!

Amazing place, has a big park around it. Looks gorgeous. There is a parking lot near it. You can walk around the castle in 20-30 minutes, and if you walk through the whole park it will take an hour. Tickets are around 10€ but you can actually see everything without them, they are for the museum inside. You can get to the inside garden for free through the main gate. There is free toilet inside and right outside the back door where they sell tickets. The castle is fabulous from all sides.

A stunning castle located in the German city of Schwerin. The gardens are amazing. Loved the architecture. Just magical. We took the train from Berlin and it was an easy walk from the train station to the castle. We loved walking around the castle and all the beautiful gardens that are extremely well maintained. A must see in Germany. Wonderful history.

✅It is admission free to walk around the Schloss Schwerin Burggarten and the bigger Garden, that has a fantastic view and really nice to wander.
✅Well-maintained attraction.
✅It’s better to go 9am, few people are there and you can take good photos.
✅a lot of shops nearby.
✅Family- and Kid-Friendly place 😊

Beautiful castle right next to a lake. Plenty of places to roam around and have a picnic outside the castle grounds. There's a nice cafe also which serves drinks throughout the day.
The museum tickets can be booked directly at the counter inside the castle premises. It does feature some pretty cool artifacts and paintings. But, you can miss it though if you are in a hurry or are not a history buff.

What a treat to tour the Schwerin Castle! It was really neat to walk through the castle and learn of it's history. The woodworking in the castle is phenomenal - from the parquet floors to the intricate carvings of animals to the built-in library book cases. I loved seeing the opulent throne room and the family trees that people would walk through before they met with the Grand Dukes and Duchesses. We also enjoyed exploring the gardens.

Wow, this place is amazing! Please allow a full day to see the castle and the town. The entire experience was unforgettable! The boat ride is brief and not really necessary. You can get a good view of the castle from land. Be prepared for a lot of walking. An elevator is available but gets very busy at peak times.

We came on a Saturday. It wasn't too crowded, we did not wait in line for tickets (end of april). We paid in cash. We parked a few blocks away and walked over.
The museum is in part art exhibits and, in the second part, presents the rooms of the castle as they originally were. The throne room is the last exhibit, and it is a sight to see. Many signs were also in English.
Surrounding the castle is the lake and gardens, which is beautiful and free. There are perfect photo opportunities here.
The restaurant menu only really had dessert dishes, so we found a place nearby for lunch.
Would highly recommend!!

Schwerin Castle is one of the most beautiful castles in Germany. Its fairy-tale style really makes an impression. If you want to know more about the castle, check out the museum and learn more about its history. The admission cost 8,50 euro, it is worth the price. If you don't have time or not into a museum, then have a walk in the garden. It's beautiful there, and you can see this gorgeous castle from all different angles.

So we visited in winter and the castle was still extremely picturesque and a sight to behold even as we were driving towards it. But having seen the insides, we would say it’s not worth going in - especially after seeing the magnificent ones like Versailles
However the staff were very friendly

Beautiful castle as well as the castle garden. Schwerin sea (lake) looks absolutely breathtaking from the castle. Museum is also very well kept. Lots of information if interested in history. We bought Audioguide at the reception. They had Christmas market inside castle too! And there is a restaurant inside castle itself to grab quick lunch.

Das ist wunderbar! The schwerin castle is unbelievable beautiful! It is so big, aesthetic, and majestic! I feel like in the Disneyland. The traffic light is so cute, it’s kinda different because near of the Schloss / Castle. We can go inside the castle for free, you can either go to the backyard of the castle and find a calm lake. enjoy the sound of ducks and birds. You can also go upstairs and go to the restaurant. You can find some merchandise or souvenirs there as a postcard, keychain, books, anything. You can also go inside and see the large field of the castle. I really love the place and recommend the place! 🥰🫶🏻

Beautiful castle, great architectures, I love looking at the unique patterns of the ceiling and doors, they make me feel honored to visit this place. By the way, I would like to send my sincere thanks to the ticket collector on the 2nd floor of the castle. It's a pity that I forgot to ask his name. He saw that I had 2 tickets in my hand while I was traveling by myself, so he guided me to return 1 ticket. Thank you for being a kind person. 3 missing stars because of the 3 dishonest people who are working there that I've met today.
This tower in Wismar has a very beautiful view over the city centre and harbour. It's possible to see it only as a part of group tour. The group tours happen at the each full hour and cost 3 euros per person. The visit time is around 45 to 60 minutes and happens with guide and group. The stories told by guide take around half of the tour time, rest is used for climbing and taking pictures. It's rather not for English speaking people only, as the guide speaks only German. But if you're interested in seeing Wismar from above and seeing the tower from inside, it's definitely worth it.

Beautiful tower now used as a memorial of sorts. It was mostly destroyed in WW2 by the allies. All that's left is the tower. Some statues at the base are interesting. We didn't try to go inside the tower. Definitely worth coming to check out if in the city. It's one of the main sights.

The remains of the church which was destroyed in the WWII. Unfortunately the rest of the church was demolished by the DDR rule, but they saved the tower. A great view over the city from the tower.

Interesting place of historical significance.
However, don't expect to be able to go on the tour in the tower unless you speak German. We were denied by the cashier and told to go to the close by church instead for a view, because the tour at St Marienkirche wasn't available in English and would take an hour. It didn't matter to us, but she said no. Very disappointed as the inside of the tower and the view was the thing that drew us there, but now we couldn't see it. It was only €3 but it's very frustrating when it's not available for outsiders.

Impressive tower in Wismar city centre, fully recommendable to visit and watch the video about the story of the whole building, it was a huge bassilica !
The Church of St. Nicholas, a magnificent redbrick structure that survived World War II almost unscathed, stands as a testament to Late Gothic architecture in Northern Europe. It is the largest of its kind and boasts a stunning Baroque-style interior adorned in red and beige hues. Visitors can explore the church from 10am to 6pm for a donation of 2 euros per adult, with printed guides available in English and German.
A very beautiful church of St. Nicholas. Jut 5 minutes away from the main station and 10 minutes from the port harbour. This church is one of the main tourist attractions of Wismar. It has the same neo-gothic architecture built up in red stone. Inside you can find printed guides in English and German to have a read while you walk around. Has a small souvenir and postcard kiosk inside the church itself.

Not very pretty cathedral on the outside but impressive original details on the inside like this delicate altar from 1400-1430. The incredible height of the cathedral’s ceiling is testament of Wismar formed importance as a Baltic trading hub “Hanse Stadt”. It’s free to enter but a donation of €2.50 is encouraged. Worth a visit.

A chilling reminder of a less forgiving time where the west and east were divided, a Cold War watchtower with a history of those that tried to make there way to the west….. worth a visit. Warnemünde is a coastal town that was once the residence of the famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. The area boasts an extensive stretch of shoreline and a beacon structure.
3% as popular as Hamburg
13 minutes off the main route, 85% of way to Rostock
I'll never travel to Rostock without this trip planner again
The Warnemünde lighthouse, a 19th-century historical landmark located in the charming village, boasts stunning views of the sea and surrounding areas. The tall structure offers plenty of seating options for visitors to take in the picturesque scenery while enjoying snacks on-site. However, transportation to this location can be challenging due to limited public transport choices and scarce taxis available. Its notable features include an old lighthouse and a large ship and ferry port.
The lighthouse in Warnemünde was for centuries a meeting place and a place of happenings, and so it is still today. As it once guided the people of the sea through the storms, now it guides the countless visitors that are gathering at the seaside on the sunny weekends. I recommend tourists to come to this place and plan their tour through the town from this point on. Best regards!

Alter Strom, located in the heart of Warnemunde, was originally a canal connecting Rostock's port to the Baltic Sea. Over time, it became a charming area with colorful houses where fishermen and sailors settled. Visitors can now enjoy strolling along the picturesque promenade, shopping, and savoring delicious seafood while watching seagulls. It's a lively place with opportunities for swimming and beach activities. The area is perfect for spending quality time with family or friends over a weekend getaway.

An almost incredibly wide beach there. You can take a nice walk along the old stream itself. The many small houses are home to shops and many restaurants and cafés. Even some of the old fishing boats are now snack bars. Caution! The seagulls are crazy about food and will sometimes grab a fish sandwich straight from the hand of an unsuspecting tourist. Beeindruckend.

Impressive. First mentioned in a document in 1232 and built as an early Gothic hall church, St. Mary's Church was converted into a multi-nave church (basilica) as early as 1290. The addition of the huge transept began in 1398. By 1454 the church (apart from the tower) was completed as a Gothic central building with a vault height of 32 meters. You simply have to see it. Really nice. Admission is free.

200-hectare wildlife park since 1959 featuring animal programs, a petting zoo, trails & playgrounds.
While visiting Rostock Germany from San Francisco, I decided to visit the Wildpark-MV. The prices for 2 adults and our Labrador dog was less than $40.00 and I feel this is reasonable especially after observing the park compound and animal care. The entire park compound is really clean and feels manicured. The animals looked very healthy. The entire park is spacious enough for the animals to function freely. The most educational area for me was the Bear and Wolves enclosure. I highly recommend a visit

It was actually a nice, lovely forest and animals!, and I could imagine it is wonderful for kids.
Their is a bit of walking, and you have to keep looking for the animals sometimes.
but overall knowing that the caretakers are taking care of the animals it is lovely!

It's well worth at least one visit. There aren't a ton of animals but the whole place is stunning, interesting and very well maintained.
Careful with small kids - quite a lot of walking involved.

This is a great place. They focus on local wild life and work in fun ways to interactively (non digital) explore it. Everything is designed so well and fun for kids. A glass tunnel under pond, bridges over wolfs’ place, tunnels etc. I didn’t expect a lot and had a great day w the family. Can’t recommend it enough.

An excellent place to spend the day. Great location in the forest with loads to see and lots of information about the animals and nature.

Unique park, the animals have lots of space to wander freely, there are very creative informative tools for kids and adult visitors, some of which are interactive too… unfortunately the aquarium tunnel was closed due to Corona restrictions, which was a big disappointment, however the kids enjoyed the visit so much!

Absolutely fantastic park. Most of it's paths are under the trees so walking there even in the summer heat is comfortable. Lots of wild life - bears, lynxes, wolves. 4-5 hours of relax in the nature. Highly recommended for families with kids.

A great place to go with kids: there is always something exciting to see including lots of playgrounds. The kids have fun, the adults get a nice walk, and everybody gets a chance for some very close encounters with local animals.
We took about 3.5 hours and walked about 6km.

Great day out for young and old. Good parking area. Easy access for wheelchairs and disabled into tbe park. Nice cafe serving hot and cold meal, drinks. Some areas are hard to get to (Bears and Eagles) access hard going for disabled or people in wheelchairs. Would always visit when in the area.😎
