Elegant complex with indoor & outdoor thermal pools with massage jets, plus a whirlpool & sauna.
A huge thermal spa complex with both inside and outside pools, in addition to multiple saunas and steam baths. My favourite in the rhine valley area.
Marco Filipe — Google review
Used to be one of my favourite spas. Now - a huge disappointment. Unfriendly staff, broken chairs, swimming pool no longer heated (technical problems cited), jacuzzi not functioning, some saunas stink. Not worth the money any more.
Vita Nesterenko — Google review
This is one of the places who does not respect people under other religions, such a discrimination is happening in 2022, unbelievable, if I could give less than one star, I would definitely do it!
Amine Leben — Google review
Loved finding a suit that fit comfortably, swimming and spending time with family and friends on a cool Sunday afternoon was the best experience I remember in my vacation revisiting my home country ❤️❤️❤️💕💕 #bestsunday
Lisa Graetz — Google review
Beautiful. The hygiene is great, the staff too. There are plenty of swimming pools and places to rest. The room of silence is my favorite.

I've been to many Therme's in Germany and I think that this is a very good one. It was very popular on the day that I visited which didn't detract from the enjoyment. In all I spent nine hours at Vita. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the sound bowl experience in the Himalayan Salt sauna. If I lived locally I'd be more than happy to call this Therme my regular! Thank you.
Mark G — Google review
Excellent hot bad with different pools and different temperatures. Must visit if you are in the area!
Csaba Karasz — Google review
I recommend this nice place. It’s real so big place that even it’s possible to be relax in sauna alone. It’s a lot of different kind of sauna and pool. This is clean also. I like it.
Ilona Voevodina — Google review
Very nice jacuzzi bathing area (despite of many yelling kids jumping into the pool).
Aufgusses in saunas are ok (I am not impressed), 6 different kind repeating throughout the day (one tibetan sound, wood smell, orange smell, mint smell, honey scrub...). Last one in panorama sauna, the big aufgusse senior master maybe wanted to go home soon so didn't care to do enough wavings, and completed the aufgusse like 3 mins.
Daily rate is 32 euro, in line with other saunas. Parking is free.
Food in sauna area is good (we had a vital salad and flembe). But the bistro in the other side of therme which offers more dishes is closed too early by the end of the day.

So the place is nice and clean. You have this type of armband where you can directly charge/book any extras you need etc...
My 1 star is because I was in the corner of one of the pools reading my Kindle...when the lifesaver or the person in charge of the pool came to me and clapped abruptly directly on my face and started yelling me to get out. Everyone was looking so i just left the pool and went to my husband that was chilling outside. I was about to explain him what happened when the same man came to us and started yelling "you cannot do that!!!you cannot do that!!" until i asked him whaaat please i dont understand can you please use words?? then he pointed at my Kindle which i guess it means you cannot use it in the pool...which is completely fine if i had known but the way he treated me was for my husband and me unacceptable. We were 2 hours there pissed instead of relaxing like we wanted. He didnt need to be that rude i would have also gone out if he had asked like a normal person instead of clapping directly in front of my face. So i wouldnt recommend. There are so many other options...

Omg goodness, absolutely loved it. Germany knows how to do it. I been lots of spa centres as I love sauna, but that sauna outside little wooden house, massive stones in the middle, only must be naked, but I kinda a love it just free feeling connected to the universe. And there is a swings wow, and bars. Highly recommended.
evelina buzelyte — Google review
Very nice thermal bath with a large sauna area. The atmosphere is very nice and the pools are quite large, so there is room for a lot of people without it getting too crowded. The only thing missing is a 40°C pool (but that's normal, the water comes out of the ground at 38°C).
pfifficus 27 — Google review
It was one of the most relaxing experiences, my favorite pool was the music room where you can float with calming music in a silent room. A very good bang for your buck

A captivating castle, or rather, a charming ruin, providing a picturesque setting to appreciate nature and the night sky. Occasional events, including fires on special occasions like New Year's Eve and some weekends featuring alcohol and food, add to the allure. The castle boasts a cozy atmosphere and surprisingly low light pollution, creating an ideal environment for star gazing.
Armin Vahdat — Google review
Beautiful views from the top of the old castle ruins, and informative boards guide you through the structure. A nice way to spend 1-2 hours on a little hike. Not suitable for people less able to walk or baby buggies.
Anja Stenning — Google review
Nice walk. If you staying in the Aire you have to walk down to the town through the woods and back up to the castle. Can be unstable underfoot at the castle.
Fantastic views at the top.
Information points fitted around the castle are also in English.

Nice spot for a visit for a couple of hours - good walk’s around

Nice castle ruins with a good view over the valley.

Beautiful, so rich of incredible European history.

This is a lovely place to visit. The ruins of the castle offer fantastic views across the whole Sundgau region, onto the Jura, Vosges, and Schwarzwald beyond. Ferrette is a nice little town with a few nice restaurants and Saturday market. Well worth the visit.

A really nice place to visit, a great sight, and beautiful views of the area.
Basel Town Hall, also known as Rathaus, is a historic building located in the heart of the city. Constructed over 500 years ago, it serves as the seat of the local legislature. The vibrant red sandstone exterior makes it a prominent landmark in Marktplatz, where visitors can explore an outdoor marketplace and enjoy street performances. Inside, the town hall features impressive frescoes and a grand wooden staircase.
We had a good time visiting the town hall in Basel. It is a large colorful building that cannot be missed as it stands out! Inside is a square in which there were performers (musicians) and a large tree decorated in which many a people took holiday photos in front of. You can climb the stairs and look upon the statues and murals painted on the walls.
K Elf — Google review
The magnificent Town Hall stands in the Marktplatz. Over 500 years old, this structure hosts the Cantonal Parliament (similar to a state government in the US or a provincial government in Canada). While many of the interior frescoes have been lost to time, the building itself it worth a stop and if you can arrange it, a tour.
Even if you can't do the guided tour, a look around is certainly worth your time. When was the last time you visited a building that is over five centuries old?
Bruce K. — Google review
Beautiful building which is very ornate the golden roof free to visit. There was a large market in front in the morning
Neil “Neilb” — Google review
The City Hall is the seat of the Basel government and its parliament. In the midst of the Old Town, it is particularly eyecatching with its red facade, the characteristic tower and playful frescoes.
A visit to the Rathaus (city hall) is worthwhile especially on account of the council chamber, the attractive inner courtyard, the romantic arcades and the tower. It was built after the great earthquake to replace the former seat of government. After Basel joined the Swiss Confederation, the front part of the building was replaced with an imposing new structure. The coats of arms of Basel and the 11 other members of the then Confederation adorn the crenellations. At the beginning of the 17th century, the city hall was extended, and the artist Hans Bock decorated the facade with painted trompe l'oeil. In 1900 the building was extended again to include the left-hand wing and the tower at the right.
Hüner Güney — Google review
Beautiful building. The courtyard has some very pretty murals painted on the walls and a gorgeous dark wooden staircase. We even had some lovely classical music played by a street musician as we explored the architecture of the inner courtyard.
D luvs2travel — Google review
Amazing place .! more tha 500 years of history represented by frescoes painting inside of the Council. You mus see them!
Alejandro Hector Funes — Google review
23.11-24.12 Every year there will be a beautiful Christmas tree like this. It is also the most beautiful Christmas market.
Meo Swisss — Google review
Had a nice time visiting the town hall; the building itself is quite colorful and unique. Inside isn’t opened for visiting but is allowed for visitors to stay and walk around. Feel embraced myself in ancient times sitting in the town hall building.

Facing the Rhein go to the left to follow Erasmus into the oldest town part. Go to the right for the cultural rich and beautiful city of Basel. Plenty of musea to visit!
Basel Zoo is a large zoo in Switzerland and has a wide variety of animals. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Switzerland and is known for its exotic species.
Fantastic zoo in Basel close to the city centre. Very family friendly and children are allowed to touch some animals. There is feeding of sea lions at 4pm with seats around the pool to watch it.
The zoo is beautifully laid out with lots of different areas for each type of animal.
Has an amazing restaurant and cafe at very reasonable prices.
You can also bring your own food and have a small picnic in some areas but PLEASE make sure you do not feed any animals.
You should allow at least 4 hours so you can enjoy the zoo at a relaxed pace - with young kids you might even spend the whole day there. Definitely worth a visit.
Arun Rishi — Google review
This is an amazing place. I have never seen a rhino :D The Zoo itself looks like a jungle. High grass. Trees and bushes everywhere. I suppose it makes animals feel better - like they're in their natural environment. Once you buy a ticket you get a map of the zoo. It is almost accurate. Paths are ok but not all animals are marked there. However it's not a big inconvenience. We treated it as a surprise. Great place for a family trip, even with a stroller. It took us about 2 hours to see everything.
Anna M — Google review
On an exceptionally hot morning, this beautiful zoo was delightfully cool, with ample shade from the many trees etc. There are so many animals etc. to see, in a comparatively small space - they looked well cared for in attractive surroundings. Lots of places to sit, too. My only minor criticism is that many of the buildings are brutalist in style and lack charm. Easy to reach by bus or tram.
Simon Richards — Google review
As it was the middle of winter when I visited quite a lot of the bigger animals were hiding in their sleeping quarters, but the birds were very active, preparing their nests for the breeding season.
I loved that so many of the birds were free to fly around in their enclosures or even in the open air.
The multi-layered exhibits with birds, mammals and even fish in the same enclosures were really interesting.
Victoria Pearson — Google review
Great experience and a fantastic location. Lots of animals to see that seem really happy. Not to busy and the flow is well. It’s worth the trip and experience. Not expensive if you get the family pass. Thank you.
KC Mitch — Google review
Absolutely love this place. The number and selection of animals is quite good but the zoo has many interconnected walking paths you can take at your own desire. The design and layout allows you to get pretty close to many animals. There are lots of benches all over so you can stop and rest at any point. Be sure to catch the walking of the Penguins during the colder months. Highly recommend!
Besim Xhaja — Google review
Basel Zoo is a great day out! There is so much to see and the grounds are absolutely beautiful!
It’s only a 10 min walk from Basel SBB main station so it’s really easy to get to!
The enclosures seemed to be ample size and the variety of animals is great!! (I was amazed by the African Wild Dogs as I’d never seen them before)
Highly recommend if you have a day to kill in Basel!
Adam Clements (Adam Clements Productions) — Google review
Very good zoo, and with the Basel Card discount it's half the price, which I think is incredible!!! 11FR to visit is really good! You can see several animals, but I don't know if I was late or it was cold but many of the animals weren't in the enclosures, so I ended up only seeing the ones that were inside the buildings. Still, it was very worth it. I recommend visiting, five stars!
José Bento — Google review
The whole zoo is very nice and it's not too big but also not too small. Although a lot of things are stoll very old like the benches and some cages for the animals. Otherwise the staff seem all very friendly. And if you go early in the morning there are only a few people and it is very peaceful.
Michelle — Google review
Amazing zoo with all type of animals . Aquarium, insects , reptiles, birds and mammals. Well maintained. There is separate section for apes too . Inside zoo , you can have good food in restaurant too. Its best place for kids , spend time .
obedulla desai — Google review
Great zoo and easy to get to via the tram. We especially liked watching the elephants and the hippos. Lots of shade from trees throughout the park.
Jeff Wood — Google review
We were here in April 2023. I do not like zoos - that’s why 4 stars. But in any case, it is interesting place.
Olha Drobiazghina — Google review
You need at least 2,5 hours to enjoy and walk all the way through without rush. Amazing layout, easy to follow paths and wonderful displays
Dina Šāvēja — Google review
We Love a good zoo, especially ones with penguins but the indoor enclosure looked tiny for how many birds were in there..
The rest of the zoo had lots of animals to see and things to do and of course plenty of overpriced places to grab a drink (no, not just because Switzerland)
Bus stop right outside the zoo for direct access to the city center.
Worth a visit.
Weekend Wildness — Google review
A must visit it Basel. If you’re staying at a hotel, the Baselcard gives you 50% discount. I spent about 2 hours in the zoo, but someone could easily spend more. The animals are clean and well kept, with employees often checking in on their welfare. This is also the first time I had the chance to watch a rhino up close. Great for a family trip.
Sandy Karagianni — Google review
A very good zoo that kids will thoroughly enjoy. There are plenty of animals; however, we missed seeing elephants and snakes due to the snow and cool weather. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance.
Recommend visiting!
ASHRITHA SARAM — Google review
Really fun to take the family here. Lion roar could be heard around the park. We missed the seal show as we had to leave before but would highly recommend a visit to see the array of animals on show
Wryld Of Gaming — Google review
Very nice zoo in town. One of the nicest what i visited. Lots of variety of animals. Loved the seelions! There was a small show with them with a place to sit down. The ape pavilion was also very nice. Can only recommend. Would visit again.
Peter Delej — Google review
Great experience, friendly staff, some historic enclosures, but well cared for animals, beautiful park area with a fantastic new volière. High accessibility and good catering and general facilities. Just a short walk from the main station.
Overall, highly recommended for a 3-4 hr visit. Kid friendly.
Mike Feusi — Google review
Brilliant zoo. Amazing value for money. Large range of animals. Easy to walk round. Lots of nice places to sit and have some food. Worth a visit!
victoria pownall — Google review
A very big zoo, very beautiful with a wonderful park to walk around with lots of greenery. It was very clean and maintained by the staff. There are many fish in the aquarium building. We really liked it!
NadiaK. — Google review
Very large zoo with a great diversity of species to see. The highlight for me was the primates section and the penguin walk which is scheduled at specific times of the day.
The food in the zoo cantina is also quite nice with good hotdogs.
Note: With the Basel card the price is cut in half.
Diogo Branco — Google review
Little disappointed by the price, which is 20 Euro per person. For this monney I expect to see a lot of animals, but instead of this, I saw only few animals which are interesting.
Aquarium is OK, but why terrarium next to him? Why there are missing tiger, wolf, parrots... Lot of interesting animals are missing. I didn't pay entrance to see wild boar or donkeys. Even that I respect those animals, but.... Really.... In Stuttgart or Karlsruhe You can see more animals. Only thing why there are not only one star because I am satisfied with ambient where are the animals, it is almost like in they habitat. Everything else, is not deserving any stars.
Altstadt Grossbasel, located in the old town of Basel, is a vibrant area offering a mix of shopping, dining, and cultural experiences. At its heart lies Marktplatz, a spacious square hosting a lively produce market and the impressive red Town Hall. The district is home to various museums showcasing ancient art, music, ethnography, and natural history. Visitors can also marvel at the historic Basel Minster which dates back to 1019.
Basel Minster is a famous Protestant Gothic style church with twin spires and a tiled roof built in the 9th century. It is located on Munsterhugel, the highest point in Basel, and is easily spotted by its prominent spires and brightly patterned roof tiles.
One of the most iconic landmark in Basel that you have to see. If you are brave enough to climb to the top of the tower, you will be rewarded by the breathtaking view of the city across the Rhine. And if you look further, you can even see across the French and German country border. Even if you don't have the strength to climb atop of it's tower, the cathedral has an ornate interior as well as a monastery with courtyard right next to the cathedral.

One of the most beautiful churches i have ever seen. Loved the painted glass and the columns, the ceiling and arches. The entrance is free but if you want to go up to the tower you have to pay 6 CHF. And you will want to go to one of the towers, because the view to the river and the city is breathtaking. I never miss this part anywhere, and now i wasn't dissapointed. You will not regret it.
Gabi Sarbu — Google review
Hey, the tower is an absolute must-visit! The views are absolutely jaw-dropping, giving you the perfect overview of the city. Plus, the ticket prices are a steal compared to other towers in Europe. But hey, here's a tip: don't tackle the climb solo. Some parts of the tower can get pretty spooky with darkness, and those stairs? They're high and narrow, like something out of a medieval adventure! So grab a buddy you trust and make a day of it. Exploring the tower will easily fill up an hour of your time, but remember, it shuts down at 4 pm sharp. So get there early to soak in all the views and enjoy the breeze!

Quiet place full of history. The big walls from brick keep secrets of the centuries. Big yard with monuments to the victims of past tragedies. U can walk around and feel how deep and high is this monster of faith that'll stand here for decades more.
Alek Korneev — Google review
Nice and peaceful cathedral. What caught my attention was the amazingly colorful and vibrant stained glass windows. Cathedral itself is big. I would suggest to take a walk around and outdoors as well. At backside relaxing views of rhine and bridges on either side.
Vishal Sonje — Google review
A very large square surrounded by extremely beautiful and ancient houses. The church in the square is huge and very beautiful. The view of the city is unique. A must see place if you are in town.
NadiaK. — Google review
Beautiful cathedral. We went in the day for a tour and returned in the evening for an accomplished organ recital. There is a concert schedule and I highly recommend checking to see if you can catch a performance when visiting the city.
Richard Belcher — Google review
Fascinating gothic style cathedral dating back to the 9th century with rich religious and political history. The view of the city of Basel along the river Rhine is stunning from the top viewing platform. I recommend taking a guided walking tour of Basel like us which covered almost all the attractions including the cathedral with interesting history of the city.
Vinitha — Google review
Loved their NYE service. Wholesome and emotional. Some people were unfriendly, but that is not the Minster’s fault, it however left a stain on the experience.
The building was impressive nonetheless, and extremely clean especially for how packed it was. Really beautiful place, definitely worth seeing.

Free entry, very peaceful. Worth a visit to look around

One of the most beautiful and interesting historical places to see in central Europe. Please go to the crypt and wait for the show, it's amazing! The show is played in 3 languages: English, German and French, each at different time. You'll see information about it before the entrance to the crypt.
Eva Popławska — Google review
Basel Minster is a free to enter church located at the heart of the city. It's also the location of the Basel Autumn festival and Christmas markets. It's a stunning Gothic cathedral, stands as an architectural marvel. You can buy tickets to go up the cathedral's tower to experience panoramic views of Basel and the Rhine River. Its timeless beauty and cultural significance make it a jewel in Switzerland's heritage and a true testament to Gothic architecture's grandeur.
Sanka Illangakoon — Google review
So beautiful, big and well maintained. You can freely walk all around inside the church. Don't miss to go up on the towers, it's a very great experience. It costs only 6chf. It has a stunning view of the City of Basel.

We used the bus get here from Messeplatz, and I have to say, please WALK to the church...it's an absolutely wonderful experience that I will recommend to anyone. there is also a free to use WC service just opposite the church. 9/10 recommend ‼️

Not crowded and nice place to understand a bit of history while in Basel. Large cathedral with wonderful shades of light and dark. I'd love to hear what the acoustics are like when they play the pipe organ.
Jonathan Y. Lee — Google review
Beautiful cathedral. It was closed when I got there, I was hoping to attend the evening prayer session, as I saw on the website. It didn’t happen maybe because of an outdoor cinema event. At the back of the cathedral you can see the nice view of Basel and Rhine River
Judy Hung — Google review
This is a Gothic building located on a hillside beside the Rhine River. The church has a platform from which you can overlook the city scenery on the other side of the Rhine.
Martin Miler — Google review
A beautiful cathedral in the middle of Old Town Square. The interior is so elegant and simple, and the place definitely has a soul that touches your heart. It is closed after 16.00, so, pay a visit just before the evening.
Özge Abanoz — Google review
So nice!!!! It's historical and elegant! I experienced a midday prayer at this location today, it came with very traditional ceremony with some music and singings, super nice experience! And the sight of the river is very stunning too!

Basel Monastery is located in Basel, Switzerland and is one of the city's major tourist attractions. The monastery is on the Swiss national heritage list. The monastery, which was originally built for the Catholic Church, was transferred to the Protestant Church after the Reformation. The building, which was influenced by Romanex architecture and Gothic architecture between 1019 and 1500, was destroyed in the 1356 Basel Earthquake and was rebuilt by Johannes Gmünd, the architect of the Freiburg Monastery, and completed by Ulrich Ensingen in 1421. The south tower was completed by Hans von Nußdorf in 1500.
When you go to Basel, you should definitely see this place and the Palatinate (Palatinate) Viewing Platform next to it.
Basel’s Fine Arts Museum is one of the Swiss country’s most popular attractions and houses a vast collection of art dating back to the 1400s. The museum has been completely redeveloped in recent years, with a new modernist wing opening in 2016. There are guided tours available for an extra charge which include admission to the permanent collection.
An institution with a great history and an attachment to the city of Basel.
Here you will find a fabulous collection in the main building as well as more recent works in the annex built a few years ago.
The entrance can be made by the new or the old building and are connected between them thanks to a tunnel always invested by different works in the follow of the various exhibitions.
One will appreciate here as much the quantity of art present as by the architecture of the buildings.
A great place of life and culture for the city.
Sean Fabolous — Google review
Good museum to visit in the city. It is very big with nice temporary exhibitions throughout the year. The staff was also very helpful. Very nice if you're interested in art. However, if your time is limited in Basel, I would recommend you skip it.
Piers da Camino Soligo — Google review
The new building is like a massive prison, I don't know who designed it. But it's ignoring all its surroundings and the old part of the museum.
Luis Aquino — Google review
A wonderful collection of works shown as part of the permanent exhibition and great temporary exhibitions (the paintings on the top floor impressed me the most). I was also very impressed by the current temporary exhibition presenting Japanese woodcuts. I highly recommend visiting this museum!
Joanna Julia “Strzyga” Sokołowska — Google review
The art selection in this museum is huge and quite varied, so there's bound to be something for everyone's taste. The Basel Kunstmuseum was definitely a highlight of my trip to Basel!
Gino Rincon — Google review
Very big and spacious museum that had a really great exhibition focusing on Picasso and how his works had been influenced by El Greco - so the museum showed several stunning pieces. And put together in such a way that you could really see the inspiration in the works.
The regular collection was also very nice but the building was a little hard to navigate for me so I'd recommend you to grab a layout map so you don't have to backtrack to make sure you didn't miss anything.
Martin Johansson — Google review
By far, the best art pieces of the Neubau are either anonymous, such as the fine and intricate texture covering a door seen in the stairway, and a wonderful fresco composed with green tiles seen in the bathroom, and the building itself designed by the tastefully inspired Christ & Gantenbein architects.
Most of the rest is, at best, a collection of "things" that will also remind you about what is otherwise carelessly dumped in landfills around the world. If they only knew the value that some pieces of trash can reach in the fertile imagination that some of us have!

Very large museum with lots of variety paintings. Found Renoir, Van Gogh and Degas among many others. The museum is so big that I couldn't finish everything in one go. Definetly recommend it. Additionally, you can get 50% off price ticket with the Basel card.

We’ve been to “Louise Bourgeois x Jenny Holzer” exhibition, something extraordinary!
Definitely recommend to see it! 😊

I love the art in there, but there is almost no information available about the paintings, comparing to the Dutch museums. I expected a bit of text beside each painting and a more comprehensive description on the audio guide.

One of my favourite museums in Europe. You have collections from 15th to 19th century and after 1950. It’s a joy for your eyes and your soul. They opened as well a building annex on contemporary and modern art. Every time I enter this place is a pleasure. 🙏 Enjoy

WIFI Signal low? One of the best fine art museums I have been in this region. Indeed impressive with many artworks. I also love the architectural aspect of this museum with a combination of new and old buildings. People working here were all friendly.
The only problem I found was its Wifi (KMB Public) had very bad coverage, and there was no and very weak signal in more than half of the building area. The Internet coverage is extremely important because we, visitors, are using its online audio guide, and without it, it is almost impossible to understand many of its artworks. They should seriously improve on its Wifi problem.

I loved the museum. My visit was a bit special, taking into account that I was with my 3 year old son. It was an amazing experience! The location is super easy to get to by train, the personnel was very friendly and the exposition itself was very interesting, but also easy to see with a little kid. My favorite hall was the Japanese woodblock prints. Very highly recommended, also with kids :)

The Kunstmuseum hosts a world class collection and exhibitions in three beautiful buildings, with the contemporary art wing being a short walk east along the Rhine
It is very proud of its long association with Jasper Johns and Joseph Beuys, who both feature heavily in the modern collection.
It also has a huge number of Hans Holbein works which are very interesting to see all together.
You need to pay more for special exhibitions.
The ticket is rather expensive compared to world class institutions in other countries. You do have access to all three Kunstmuseum sites, but there is way too much art to see to get through it all in one day.
But you can get 50% off with a Basel card which is given to tourists who pay the city tax.
They have lockers for storing your coats and bags in which are free.
The Bistro serves very nice food including good vegetarian offerings.

A place to visit several times, not just in one day. In each floor, every period has so many artists and so many rooms that you really need time to enjoy these pieces of art works. For me it was a great experience and would like to go back. The staff is helpful and pozitive.
As a guest in every hotel you get half price in each museum and public transportation for free. Enjoy Switzerland!

Beautiful museum to visit and and you can spend hours looking at the art pieces around. In fact if you come in the hour before closing the entry might actually be free.

A really fabulous museum of Art. It has a wonderful collection going back to the renaissance and right up to the present day. It is presented in three different buildings, two linked and one a short distance away. All the famous artists are represented (Monet, Picasso, Mondrian, Rothko, Gauguin…).
There are great shops and a lovely cafe in the court of the main building. There are far fewer people than in equivalent museums in London or Paris. We got in for free with our Swiss Rail Passes.

They had art of a guy with rats! 10/10.
No but seriously inspired architecture, lovely museum atmosphere and a great place to visit.
The only thing i couldn't understand is why they hosted the neon light art exhibition of Dan Flavin in the rooms with the most natural lighting.

The ticket is half priced with Basel Card that was provided by the hotel for every hotel guest. Lockers and toilets are also available at the entrance and every floors. The museum is big, and houses many magnificent art works. There was not much crowd on a Saturday afternoon so it was a great and relaxing experience during the museum tour.

The area offers the Feldbergbahn cable car for easy access to the summit, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from Feldberg Tower. Nature enthusiasts can explore the circular glacial lake of Feldsee surrounded by dense forest and visit the House of Nature Feldberg museum with its interactive conservation displays.
This 1.3-sq-km glacial lake in the Black Forest features boating, fishing & more.
beautiful town in the middle of black forest. this is a better town to go to instead of Baden Baden/triberg, where it's much further from black forest. it will also be more convenient if you drive, as you can drive through certain parts of black forest easily, as compared to walking/hiking

Titisee is a Great Place to stay for us. Regardless if you life hear or as a tourist. The nature is great. Sometimes it’s quit busy but that comes and goes. It’s great to go running next to the lake or through the forest early in the morning when the sun comes out and the fog is still hanging over the water.

Food kiosk, boat renting and good atmosphere.
Good enough, they sell food for ducks (remember that bread is extremely bad for them) and therefore forbidden to feed anything but that.

One of the best lakes I have ever seen. The atmosphere is magical,I really recommend to go out of the town and follow a trail so that you can see the whole lake. Is all flat and really panoramic. It’s just half an hour by train from Freiburg so that’s really close and you can’t miss out the place is absolutely stunning. The trees are so high and the light is amazing. There is space to sit at the sides of the banks and grass fields are all over. In summer the landscape is so green,it’s wonderful ! There are also some camping places.

It's a beautiful 😍 place to visit in Germany amongst many others. There is a pictorial lake in the heart of this historical town. The town is a beautiful one and renowned for cuckoo clock ⏰️
There are plenty of things to do here with family, especially if you love outdoors and nature.
There is an Indian restaurant within the heart ❤️ of the town, which also serves delicious food.
Every side you see, it's stunning 😍
The only issue here is toilet facilities.
Tropical indoor bathing area with palm trees, a sauna & wellness zone, plus a water park.
A welcome retreat at the end of a long weekend of sightseeing. The facility was clean and the staff was helpful with the language barrier. My family of four thoroughly enjoyed our time here sliding down the super fun water slides and relaxing in the warm mineral waters. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will be back!

I went to 2 parks :
The Palmenoase : an excellent place to chill and relax, with a very good restaurant and bar.
The Galaxy Schwarzwald: a good funny park with a lot of water attractions, not very exciting but still very good for children.
Overall, it's a great water park for relaxing with a beautiful view.

What to say it was a great experience. The staff is very friendly, the pools are nice and we enjoyed having cocktails in the pool bar. There are many trees inside which makes the atmosphere even more relaxing. They have amazing salt baths too. We booked massages in advance and that's definitely recommended. We had the best massage therapist ever. He was very knowledgeable and made us feel super comfortable if you're up for it he's got great stories to tell, but only if you're so inclined he can also leave you to just meditate in peace.
Fantastic place!

Only wonder myself why it has to be all online reservations, by app..? By far one of the best swimming pools I've ever been to. The Galaxy part has a bunch of exciting slides, great with (older) children. The Oasis part is very relaxing if you want to get away from the noise for a few hours. Staff is English speaking, and the facilities were very good. Limited choice of food in the restaurant and quite expensive entry though. Be sure to buy tickets in advance, as they will be cheaper.

This is a great place to spend a day with the kids, it’s is a bit on the expensive side but I think it’s worth it.
Changing rooms are very clean , in fact everywhere was clean.

Although the park is relatively small, it is really fun. You can totally spend there 4 hours of fun and even more. Even when crowded you can really enjoy the park. A bit old, and the pool outside isn't really a pool, it can maybe fit 15 people at a time which is very dense.

The restaurant and the bar is also great, with a large selection of cocktails.
Hygienic, clean and very welcoming, with great views of the Black Forest - the outdoor pool is fantastic too, even while it’s snowing outside!

They try to milk tourists by applying dynamic pricing which is nowhere mentioned on their website. Avoid this and go to any local swimming pool by googling " indoor swimming pool near me" you will at least save 50 euros per person.
Also the waiting times were more than 1 hour even after paying a dynamic high price (which is double the normal price).

the facilities are excellent.. consider every detail.. I didn't find even one complaint On the place... dressing rooms with clean sanders..
lockers each with its own number.. opened by a bracelet they give you..
each dressing room has a body dryer, a super special idea..
facilities for children from the age of two months with hot water..
the whole place is closed..
with all the rain outside you don't feel at all .. the super special thing .. is the waves in the big pool .. every quarter of an hour. Strong waves are active in the pool, which is a great thing

Not allowed to take photos inside for privacy of other guests, amazing fun and beautiful pools. Don't recommend bringing pool toys, not needed and they will get lost/not be allowed in some pools. Storage areas for all your belongings with key. Difficult to plan a birthday there though.

Very nice place, friendly staff. Unfortunately I can't give higher points because there's a lot of people in swimming suit and bikinis walking around even making fun of the ones which are naked and enjoying a good time. When confronted, the staff told me that is allow because they can go to their rented chairs and after be naked. The management should understand that this rule allows stupid people that only go there to laugh ( like seeing people naked was funny or degrading). I think the management should take measurements to insure they clients privacy and security and not allow bikinis and swimming suits in the naked area anymore. Also I think there's should be more control since I saw a lot of people with their feet in the saunas hood.
One final note: the sauna masters are amazing, they made an amazing show, my thank you for all of them.

Rhine Falls is a tourist spot in Switzerland that boasts of being the largest waterfall in Europe. This natural wonder has a width of 150 meters and height of 23 meters, which can be enjoyed by tourists through boat trips, viewing platforms, and guided tours. Laufen Castle serves as one great option to view the falls while various decks provide another alternative. The thunderous Rheinfall produces an impressive flow of water with abundant photo opportunities along its shore trails.
This is the seventh time I have been here. Can really recommend it for the first really warm spring days. Easy to park, free parking at the castle side of the falls. Electric charging parking is also available. Do spend the extra money for the tickets to go down to the waterline to see the force of the water firsthand. We took the blue line and this was definitely worth the money. Well worth a visit!

Numerous shops and eateries available to enjoy the time in a wholesome way. Great destination for family weekend getaway.

Rhine Falls is a natural wonder that leaves an indelible mark on your senses. The sheer power of Europe's largest waterfall is awe-inspiring, with thundering waters cascading dramatically. The well-maintained pathways and viewpoints ensure a breathtaking panorama of the falls from various angles. Visiting the falls up close on a boat tour provides an exhilarating experience as you feel the mist on your skin. The surrounding lush greenery and rock formations create a stunning backdrop for photography enthusiasts. Whether seen under the summer sun or embraced by winter's icy charm, Rhine Falls offers a captivating sight year-round. The well-equipped visitor center and amenities enhance the overall trip. A visit here is an encounter with the raw beauty of nature that's truly unforgettable.

You cannot come to Switzerland and not see this waterfall! It is a place that will meet your expectations with its nature and historical structure. A cold beer in the summer can also be good. Have fun now.

Please research about this place before going and the best times to go. Definitely go when there is nice sunlight since the lighting there is pretty bad to take photos of the waterfall in dark. Rhine falls is as beautiful as it gets, but I would highly recommend taking the boat ride of 75 minutes, which goes along the river. It takes you along in quiet, serene waters, with wind blowing in your hair. You can enjoy nature, birds all around, sun, sky and water. You need at least 3-4 hours to soak it all in! Not far from Zurich, it’s super easy with Swiss rail pass, with train stop right at the falls! Don’t miss it 💜

This is an amazing, beautiful, and breathtaking experience! We did the "yellow" tour which takes you to the rock island. You are dropped off, and you can climb some VERY steep stairs to be right in the middle of the falls. It is very crowded during the season, so reservations are highly recommended. Food onsite is typically touristy menu and way over prices. Try to plan a lunch or something in the local towns and experience real traditional dishes.

Simple waterfall which can be viewed from a distance. Nice view to spend some time in nature. Considering the height and force, it'd be nicer if we could reach a closer place. But nevertheless, it's worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.

Although we did not go to the platform above the waterfall, we still had an amazing view of the whole waterfall with the landscape and buildings around it. Personally, I feel the tickets are not the best value due to view offered from the pier opposite of the falls also offer a very good view however the tickets are not too expensive. I also suggest to bring a poncho if you are going to the platform above the falls.

Beautiful. First we entered from the side of the fortress. From there the view is good, but visibility is poor. There is an elevator that goes down to the waterfall. We weren't there. Very nice tourist attraction, with nice boat-rides near the falls with reasonable prices! The restaurants do not have a wide variety of dishes, but the place is magnificent. The Munot Fortress in Schaffhausen, Switzerland is a 16th-century hilltop fortress and tower with circular walls that offer stunning views of the Rhine River and surrounding village. The battlements were built by forced labor after the Reformation and hide a beautiful vaulted casemate. This fortress-bastion is very interesting in its own way. Although inside it is very simple, without frills. But this immediately shows its ancient origin. But the most interesting thing is going up. This is not a staircase, but a whole road that goes to the roof of the bastion. The roof is flat, you can walk on it, there is a restaurant. From this roof you have a great view of the city and the Rhine. I advise you to visit.

The hiking trails up to the peak are well known and loved by locals and tourists alike for their beauty and peace. In the afternoon, you can take a Limmat River Cruise through Zurich's Old Town (Altstadt) to see sights beyond mere terrestrial reality.
One of the most beautiful views of Zürich. It’s a 1 km trek after getting down from the train but make sure to have strong grip shoes to trek as there’s a lot of ice which might be difficult to walk through

If you're looking for a 360° View over Zürich, then you must visit this spot.
Also several Hiking trails are available, the scenery and nature are so beautiful, and you can have a quick lunch (some food stands offer super delicious Swiss Würst with the authentic kartoffelsalat) or you can eat at the Uto Kulm restaurant and enjoy some raclette / fondue.

Beautiful mountain peak with wonderful views from Zurich and its surroundings.
We were lucky to get a little bit of snow during the night. Once we got there early in the morning we still could see some flakes on the trees.
This place has stunning views and it is very easy to reach by train or by one of the several hiking trails available.
At the top you have a hotel, restaurant and toilets are available.
Highly recommend.

We hiked approximately 11.5 miles roundtrip from Zurich City Center to Uetliberg. It was worth the visit and had amazing views of the city and the alps along the way. We had coffee and snack in a restaurant at the top. Walking up the tower was worthwhile though it was very windy when we went since there was a storm coming.

An absolute must do when visiting Zurich. A stunning view and easy to access by train or if you have the time there are lovely trails all the way to the top.

My visit to Uetliberg in Zurich was an absolute delight that left me rejuvenated and in awe of nature's beauty. This serene mountain getaway is a must-visit for anyone seeking breathtaking views and a tranquil escape from the bustling city life.
The journey to Uetliberg was an adventure in itself. The well-marked trails and picturesque surroundings made the hike enjoyable even for novice hikers like me. As I ascended, I was treated to ever-expanding panoramas of the city and the surrounding landscape. The sight of Lake Zurich and the distant Alps was truly a feast for the eyes.
Upon reaching the summit, I was greeted by a panoramic view that took my breath away. The observation tower provided a 360-degree vantage point, allowing me to soak in the beauty of Zurich from a bird's-eye perspective. The vibrant colors of the changing seasons only added to the allure of the landscape.
Uetliberg is also a haven for nature enthusiasts. The well-maintained trails are perfect for hiking, jogging, and even mountain biking. I encountered a diverse range of flora and fauna along the way, making it a great spot for photography and wildlife observation.
The tranquility of Uetliberg is truly remarkable. The serene atmosphere and fresh mountain air provided a much-needed escape from the daily grind. It's a place where you can disconnect from technology and immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world.
Whether you're a nature lover, an adventure seeker, or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, Uetliberg has something to offer. It's a gem that showcases the harmony between urban and natural landscapes. My experience here was nothing short of magical, and I highly recommend Uetliberg to anyone looking for an unforgettable outdoor experience in Zurich.

I hiked up to Uetliberg from city center. Absolutely lovely hike, loved the trails up to the top. I took the train down to Zurich HB. There are great views all throughout the trails of nature and Zurich. The trail did have a lot of stairs and some steepness but a relatively easy trail with a little elevation.

There are various paths to get to Uetliberg with different difficulties. It is suitable for everyone and a perfect activity for families.
Enjoy the view of Zurich at the top while enjoying the snacks and ice cream on offer. Toilets are also available here.

Near to Zürich by train, a nice location to escape from the usual sightseeing. We were welcomed by a nice view and a freezing cold wind. The access to the tower was 2CHF and takes you to the top to gaze the surrounding valleys and mountains.

A beautiful place with breathtaking views of Zurich and the Alps. In winter a fairytale snowy landscape and sledding fun for the whole family and in summer a popular destination for athletes and nature lovers. Accessible only on foot or by public transport. About 10 minutes on foot from the Uetlibergbahn to the observation tower.

Absolutely fantastic mountain to walk upto . There is a simple walk route, one train route and one little wild but super exciting route .
Totally loved the experience of going up on a nice warm summer day

Must-see to visit when being in Zurich. Only 25 minutes from Zurich HB to get there and the view is amazing!
Also, it’s nice to take a walk in the mountain to explore some paths.

The hike up is really nice, not only in summer but also in the winter time. There are many paths and different ways to go to the top. You can even go by train. The views are amazing. There is a very nice restaurant on top and a stall where you can buy drink, even cocktails and fast food. Strongly recommended.
Isa G — Google review
Been at the top a couple of times already. The hike is not strenuous and it gives partial views of the Alps, which is super nice. We usually do the hike from the city center and that takes about one hour and a half.
At the top, you can buy beer and use the restroom. The views from up there are spectacular.
Diego Salas — Google review
Very cool viewpoint over Zurich and the lake. When the weather is clear enough you see the mountains far away.
Some food is there, a bit pricey, but well, they know that a bunch of people come hungry to the top.
Some places to sit and chill are there also.
It’s about 500m up from Zurich city, and you have several kind of paths leading up, so there’s a bit for everyone. And if yours lazy or tired or unfit, you can also come by train!
Ptitsuisse — Google review
A great place to see Zurich and Alps from the height. We’ve made a hike up there (from hbf and it’s very exhausting) and it was kind of a Swiss weekend experience for us. Up there there are a lot of spaces to see and enjoy the view.
In winter it was also a Christmas market still so you can enjoy some drinks and food.
The aperol is for 14,5 CHF and the tea for 4,5, the Raclette was delicious for 15 CHF.
Go up the the view tower and enjoy 360 view of surroundings - windy but totally worth it.

It's a mountain with great views.
You can get a train to near the top, then it's a 10 minute steep walk up.
We were lucky as the woman working at the hotel at the top gave my daughter and her wheelchair a lift up which was very appreciated.
The hotel up there looked nice and staff were friendly.
Great views, which is what we went up for.

Great train ride up to the top. The view from the tower was fantastic. A couple of restaurants and a hotel are at the top. Lots of Christmas Market stands.

Nice place to hike up to to have a Birds Eye view of Zurich. The tower requires a 2chf payment; of which card payment was not functioning when I was there.
The view at the top was nonetheless lovely.

The Zurich Bahnhofstrasse is a high-end shopping street that is known for its luxury designer boutiques and cafes. The street originated from humble beginnings, however, and today it is one of the most popular places in all of Zurich to shop for luxury items. We love the Bahnhofstrasse! Every time when we visited Zurich, we would always dropped by the Bahnhofstrasse!
This long shopping street is in the heart of Zurich, it runs through from North to South, which begins from the train station & end at the edge of the Zurich lake.
Being one of the most expensive shopping streets in Europe & the main commercial hub in Zurich, you would be surprised that you could still find many shops that are very affordable for normal people, I.e. H&M, Adidas, Nike...etc. The closer to the lake, the more expensive they are. (i.e. lined with upmarket shops selling jewelleries or Rolax...etc.) There are also serval lovely but very affordable restaurants located on the side streets along Bahnhofstrasse.
The street is always very clean and there are tramlines running along it. It is very easy to walk & we love it!

So many familiar designer stores and nice restaurants and café lining this lively street, with the road run by their electric trams. There is also a small plaza along the street and giant Swiss flags hang from overhead wires. The streets are surprisingly clean for a very busy and expensive street. Truly combines elements of the old Swiss world, and the more modern ways. You can also get views of both the Grossmünster and Frausmünster from here.

Old Town Steakhouse is a rustic destination serving generous portions of meat and seafood dishes, perfect for a memorable meal. The seasonal terrace offers beautiful views of the cityscape and makes for a great place to relax after a day of exploring Zurich's historic centre.
Wonderful evening with Til and the gang. They create an excellent atmosphere and experience. The vodka bone marrow shots and rum liquer complimented the excellent steak. Nice job folks.

Randomly picked a steakhouse in tourists area, that we already have mentally prepared for any surprises, ordered a T bone on a heat rock, which is I don’t like this cooking, I think grill is the best cooking for steak. The meat is soso. No surprise of expensive dinning after the day one in Swiss.

I found a human hair in my fried chicken and the server insisted it was a chicken hair not human hair. I have never heard chicken has a hair and I found it last minute, so I guess I unfortunately ate most of hair. It was a very unpleasant experience in fine dining.

Waiter demanding tip let them down.
Good food, good ambiance, reasonable prices on lunch special BUT will never return after waiter demands a tip. He mentioned it four or five times and made the our use of our credit card difficult until a tip was added. He only cleared out plates.
A more senior waiter, more smartly dressed, perhaps the owner, was much more pleasant taking our order, delivering the food and second glass of wine. I tip for excellent service not for just doing the job.
Sadly our end to this meal means we will not return and therefore can’t recommend it.

The restaurant service and food were not good for the price. The servers were not nice and very impatient. Even though I was also staying there I was waiting to meet someone and they practically tried to get rid of me. I had to sit and was forced to order food to stay there which was outside even though there were lots of empty tables. They belittled me for visiting with my niece for what they thought was too long even though it was only about an hour. Will never eat here or stay here again. The room was big e good at all with a broken television and other problems including no soap.

Had dinner here, a quick steak late at night.
The meat is average at best, and well overpriced. It’s a classic tourist trap.
The waiter was incredibly offended and rude when I didn’t tip. Tried to sort of bulling me into reconsidering? Anyway, I recommend he changes attitude, job, or at least employer.

I ordered salmon with a side of broccoli. The food wasn’t bad and wasn’t the best it could use some more flavour but it is very overpriced for what you receive, not worth it in my opinion, very overpriced but so is most of the food in Zurich. The service is good though.

Really great steak. Mediocre service. Waiter with short facial hair asked for a tip, I proceeded to add 4 francs out of courtesy, he cancelled my credit card payment and said typically people tip 10%, I put 0 francs and he basically threw a fit at the table dropping my credit card and slamming the receipt on the table (not even over exaggerating...) made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but all I had to do was walk out the restaurant. Won't be coming back again.

As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with a very warm hospitality. Also, we were showed to a table immediately even though we said we didn't book a table. All of the staff was very helpful, attentive, and friendly and big smiles on their faces.
The staff was always asking if we needed anything or if everything was okay, which felt very nice. When we were trying to take pictures, one of the staff also came in to help without being asked when he saw us. We also didn't have to wait too long for the food.
I had ostrich steak on a hot plate which was soooo juicy. Me likey very much🥰🥰. I also like how they have so many side dishes, including the risotto I chose. I also tried the rib eye hot plate steak which was very nice because we can choose the wellness of the steak😂 although we had to be very careful not to accidentally touch it (my dad did😅😅) .
Then, I ended this meal with tiramisu with fresh fruits and my parents had ice cream (sour cream, passion fruit, walnut)
Overall, I was very impressed this candle lit steak dinner ❤❤

We tried a few steak houses, which all were booked out. Ended up here, as this was the only one with a spare table, and the steak was excellent for the price. We had ribeye. Steaks are served on a hot stone, so you can cook them to your liking.

Nice little hotel in the heart of the Old Town in Zürich where there are lots of restaurants and shops, and it is also only a short walk from Zürich central station and tram stops. It sits above a restaurant of the same name. Recommended for couples only as the rooms are very small.
The Highlights:
- the rooms are very clean upon check in, and despite being small, has the basic necessities: bed, air conditioning, mini fridge, kettle, Closet, TV, hot water, towels, etc. It's also non-smoking which is really appreciated, considering how much people seem to smoke here in Zürich.
- Another highlight is that it has a lift (elevator) that fits 4 people with no luggage, or 2 people with 2 suitcases
- The continental breakfast included in the room has two kinds of bread, two kinds of cold cuts, some fruit, jams, three kinds of cheeses, juices, coffee and tea - enough to fuel up for the morning until lunch time.
-Although the hotel is in the heart of the Old Town with bars and restaurants right below it, the sound proofing of the windows is pretty good as we couldn't hear the outside world once we've shut them properly.
What can be improved:
- Customer service leaves much to be desired. The people serving in the morning don't seem to want to host people at all as he didn't want to interact with any guest, save to serve us coffee or tea. This is observed both days we had breakfast there.
- Our room also wasn't cleaned. Not sure what the custom here in Switzerland is, but when we returned to our room after our second day, we found that our bed wasn't turned over, the dirty towel on the floor was hung up against the towels we wanted to reuse, the complimentary drinking water was not replaced. The only things done were opening the window to let air in and the trash had been taken out. If not for those, we wouldn't have known someone was in our room.
- The pillows were very flat and if you folded them, they would stay folded (which means they are expired and should be replaced). This is minor if it doesn't bother you, or course.
- as mentioned, the room is very small so be mindful of that if you are planning to bring large suitcases for your trip as there's little room to place them in.
Overall, I would only recommend this hotel for staying in Zürich for its location and value for money and not for any other reason.

I ordered a sirloin steak well done with a baked potato no sour cream but with butter. The meal came with the steak being seared on both sides but raw in the middle and I said this is not cooked to my liking he said you have to cook it yourself on the stone I said I'm paying you $50 for a steak and I have to cook it? The waiter ended up cooking it the rest of the way on the stone which took about half an hour.
The baked potato did not come with any butter like I asked and no skin I like to eat the skin on my baked potato but there was none it looked like a piece of lasagna. In addition the steak was tough I did not believe it was a sirloin because it had gristle in it. I did have dessert apple pie ice cream and it was delicious. No I won't be back.
The Kunsthaus Zürich is a major art museum with a European collection dating back to the 15th century. It also has temporary exhibits, and is home to some of the most famous works of art in history by masters like Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti and Vincent van Gogh. The Swiss National Museum is an important stop for anyone wanting to gain basic knowledge about Switzerland and its people.
One of my favorite places to visit in Zurich. Amazing construction are my first words. Staff and employees at the highest level. A real home of art. I have visited too many places like this, but here I was very positively surprised. I would rate the current program with the highest marks. The part dedicated to Yoko Ono to be experienced is not told. The price is adjusted to the standard of the state and the city. If you are a student you get a discount on a ticket. According to the information I received there, Wednesday is a day when admission is free. The room with the lights is fantastic, would it be good to write a real fantasy. My rating is 10/10. A real experience.

What a great art museum! They have the largest collection of dada pieces in the world making in a exceptional experience if you follow that movement. There are many pieces from classic painters such as Picasso, Monet, Manet, Munch, Rembrandt, and more. There are two museum buildings across the street from each other which you can reach by crossing the street or by using the underground tunnel. Backpacks must be checked, photography is allowed, and the museum is free on Wednesdays except for the special rotating exhibit. Expect to spend 2-3 hours perusing the paintings.

An excellent Museum all around! I wouldn't miss this even if you only have a day in Zurich. The building itself is an incredible work by David Chipperfield who is a pritzker prize winner and one of the best minimalist architects of our time. The collection is very high end for the size of museum it is. Even if you're a casual art viewer you will likely recognize a number of paintings from Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso and many others. I highly recommend it. Can be done in only a few hours.

The pinnacle of capitalist art collection. Absolutely stunning pieces of art, exhibited in not less stunning interiors. The space and air given to the art works really underlines their impact. Of course, this whole complex is a manifestation of what 400 years of capital accumulation can lead to - a temple of capitalism, embodied by thousands of precious relics.

Very nice facilities, beautiful paths. Quite a lot to see and can take a while going around this place. Several gastronomic facilities, a places to eat inside (very interesting Thai corner).
It is very good organize and friendly for the kids. There is so many playground inside, real fun for the kids.
Just a small remark is that there are usually no parking spaces nearby, the host provided enough parking spaces some 1.2 km away from the ZOO itself and organized a shuttle bus that transports visitors to the ZOO and back.
And you can use public transport, both the bus and the tram itself.

Despite the relatively cold weather most animals looked happy and thriving. Not the greatest variety of animals to see but the still a fun place to visit especially with the kids. The large greenhouse was an experience by itself, but when I opened the last door I found myself out of the zoo and had to walk back to the entrance! Good thing that I kept my tickets. tramline 6 has a final stop that is a five minute walk from the zoo.

Really nice Zoo, we went there after lunchtime (15:00) and there were no queues and it was super quick to get in.
The park was not too crowded at this time either, which in turn gave us a really nice experience as well.
I think this may be the reason many of the animals did not hide, so it was nice to be able to see so many of them!
After we walked through the full park, we treated ourselves a mini-safari-train back!

This is a wonderful place, but it’s probably better to call it not a zoo, but a natural park where there are animals. Of course, I understand everything perfectly well, animals need space, they need a natural environment, but half of the animals are not visible because they are hiding... but in principle, honestly, I was satisfied today

Very nice place to go to! The zoo is well maintained and the animals seem well looked after.
There is a spacious area outside where you can sit and have a drink and a bite. The fries were very tasty.
Be aware of the crowd if you want to visit during the weekends!

Spectacular view and animal assortment. Good food too if needed and a lot of places to rest/drink. Be aware: to visit it all by feet will require around 4hours.

Easy to get there with the tram. No waiting times if you order and print your tickets in advance. Nice, clean and good cared. Great areas for animals and visitors. Beautiful and interesting new buildings. Even on a rainy day nice to visit.

Amazing Zoo with a lot to see. Zoo supports different Projects around the world to preserve nature and animals which is a great plus for me. Tickets are little higher than expected but totally worth it. Amazing savanna and rain forest just behind Zurich city jungle. Be prepared to walk a lot and take a whole day for this trip. Toilets and small restaurants are around every corner. But it’s better to bring your own water and snacks to save you some money.

Very good place for a day out. It has a massive indoor Rain forrest. A lot of good animal sanctuaries in the zoo. Most of the animals are living in a huge natural open environment. Only the penguins felt like they are in a prison. Overall a good zoo.

Easy to reach from Zurich HB , Zoo is very huge , animals and birds well care . Enough space for them and close to their natural space. Tips : zoo is very big comfortable shoes is must ! Snakes abs water is allowed. Feed animals not allowed , to cut bamboo for home as souvenir is prohibited! There is a big shop with unique souvenirs with friendly prices !

Great place to visit. Was worried about parking as I visited on a Saturday but this was very well organised and lots of spaces.
The attractions are great. Had to revise our route due to the car park we parked at and entering the park at a side entrance (hint this was much less busy than the main entrance).
My favourites were the elephants and gorillas. The gift shops and restaurants were good to.
Highly recommended. 5*****

Despite winter time we really enjoyed the day in Zoo.
Highlight was for us Penguin Parade at 13:30. It can be seen daily from November to February on days when temperature drop below 10 degrees. To be sure it is better to check on Zoo's website.
Some of the animals were hidden or sleeping, but I was surprised how many of them we saw outside despite freezing weather.
If you buy tickets online you get a small discount and you will avoid a queue at the cash desk.
Peter Zarsky — Google review
One of the best zoo’s ever. Great to go in the winter as most exhibits are indoors and heated. Animals look VERY healthy and there are plenty of activities outside the exhibits like a cinematic panoramic presentation near the exit and an occasional llama/donkey parade.
Even if you’re not in to animals, if you wanna break from the cold Rainey days the indoor exhibits are a winter tropical vacation!

Nice zoo with wide collection of animals. You can see everything in approx 3 hrs, but remember to wear proper walking shoes.

great to go with family, kids, friends or even for a daye with your partner!
the staff is very friendly and ready to help you learn about the animals and their habitats.
this zoo really makes you see how animals can be happy and preservation ensured, while also giving us the opportunity to see species from all over the world.
(big plus are also the amenities such as restaurants and fun activities all around)
looking forward to the new projects!

Great Zoo, for both education and leasure. You have the big exotics, like giraffes, elephants, gorillas, lions, tigers, zebras, and the most decent aquarium in Zürich. Lots to see and explore, not to mention the Masoala which is worth a trip of its own. They recreated a whole piece of Madagascar!
Gergo Farkas — Google review
It's big but expensive. There were a lot of empty enclosures, which is a shame for what we paid. Also first time ever I got to be so close to the giraffes! Also half the park is under construction until 2025 (lion area)

Good choice for a day trip. Animals have a lot of space.
Buy tickets in advance. Prise of the ticket for adults is 27 CHF.
The Lion Monument is a significant tourist attraction in Lucerne, Switzerland. It depicts a lion carved out of natural sandstone rock, which appears to be dying from being impaled by a broken spear. The monument was built to honor Swiss mercenaries who lost their lives while defending King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette during the attack on Tuileries Palace in 1792.
This Monument is a must visit when in Lucerne. There is a nice Cafe there to grab a drink or small meal as well. A quick place to visit.

We were going through the centre of Luzern one day evening. And it was magical. Some parts of town has fairy-tale atmosphere, like these on the pics. On the first one is statue, on the second one toilets next to the statue and on the last one is café situated just in front of the statue area. I wish everyone enjoy the attractive place.
Mark?ta Kol?nov? — Google review
Gorgeous monument sculpted directly in the rock. If you're lucky to go in the afternoon, when the sunshines hit the sculpture it gives more depth to the art. We sat on a bench for several minutes to appreciate its beauty. Free entrance.
Veihi — Google review
We visited this iconic location and didn't make enough time to see all of the adjacent sites. There's so much more to see here, the lion is massive and amazing, Google translate comes in handy too when reading its descriptions. Great spot for site seeing, food, and shopping for souvenirs.

A beautiful, serene, quiet park and incredible Monument. Very moving, and worth the visit. City wifi works just outside the park walls, but not in it. An easy walk from here down to the waterfront and right beside the glacier park attraction too.

A huge sculpture of lion carved from the stone. Although the history is very sad but it is a majestic piece of art work that you see here. A big respect to the people for the memory of whom it was constructed. It is a part of the walking tour that you take with your guide in the city, so you are well informed about the history behind it. Really impressive.

Was under construction, but still a beautiful tribute. While there, we were pleasantly surprised by clean and innovative restroom…make sure to check it out!

The Lion Monument was one of the most detailed pieces of rock I've ever seen. It was definitely very moving and sad, yet beautiful at the same time. I learned upon visiting, how prestigious the Swiss Mercenaries/Guards were in those times and continue to serve at The Vatican. This monument is a must visit if you are in Luzern.
Phillip Soto — Google review
The Lion Monument is a truly captivating piece of art that embodies deep emotion and historical significance. Carved into the rock face, this monument depicts a dying lion, a powerful symbol of courage and sacrifice. The intricacy of the sculpture's details, from the texture of the lion's fur to the facial expressions, is simply remarkable. The setting, surrounded by a tranquil pond and lush vegetation, adds to the monument's impact, creating a reflective and solemn atmosphere. Visiting the Lion Monument is an experience that evokes contemplation about the past and pays homage to the fallen soldiers it honors.

Free attraction n must visit when you visit Lucerne, with beautiful carving and the location is very strategic in the middle of the city.
The park there are also free public toilet facilities and very clean.

A beautiful rock carved sculpture depicting the fallen Swiss soldiers from an episode in the French Revolution. The majesty and the anguish of the lion is immense. The park is a very quiet one and the visit there can be combined with the Glacier garden which is adjacent to it. I would consider this to be worth a visit if visiting Lucerne for more than a day.

Massive monument with an interesting fountain in front of it. Much more enjoyable than how it appears in the picture. Check out the really interesting public bathroom.

It is recommended to come when the light is at an oblique angle. It can be morning or evening. To better capture the details of the monuments carved into the rocks without being too contrasty. The monuments are very large compared to people. The surrounding area has stories to tell. You should take time to sit and relax and remember the origin of creation and the serenity of the place of the departing lion
Ben Panuts — Google review
Only a short walk away from the station, it's well maintained and gives an insight into the history and background of the place. There are benches where you can sit and relax and reflect. No fees for entry and it was not crowded when I visited. Please do read the plaque which is at the left hand side corner which gives the historical background

I love how beautiful this place is and for sure there is a sad story behind it but this memorial is full of emotion. It completely shows the pain of war. Make sure you give yourself time to sit for a minute there. Best visited before or after hours with no so many people, in any case people amount changes minute to minute. There are bathrooms there, benches to sit and it’s a beautiful place in whole.

It’s very simple, and yet could portray a lot of meaning and history.
We visited during the fall, and the surrounding trees and leaves just made it all the more beautiful!

The sculpture on the rock of the cliff of Lion is so beautiful and stunning.
The story around is during the French Revolution. The mournful time just invites to the journey back to past.
The place has a small pond and WC and very much accessible from public transport or by walk from station
The town is pretty small so great to explore it by foot
Also there is a glacier museum nearby

The Lion Monument or the Lion of Lucerne is designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen in 1820. It commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred during the French Revolution in 1792. There's no ticket required to access it.

Arrived on a rainy summer morning around 10am and it was already pretty crowded. Parked at the Coop shopping center and walked there, but almost everything in Switzerland is accessible by train and bus. The lion is behind the businesses and catches you by surprise once you find it.

It’s easier to get here via public transit. There are paid parking spots nearby but they may be hard to get as there aren’t that many. The park is rather small and can be visited in short time. It’s a nice stop which can be combined with a walk through the surrounding neighborhood. There is no charge to visit the monument.

Rathaus Stadt Luzern is an impressive Italian Renaissance-style town hall that has been a significant building in Lucerne for centuries. Designed by Anton Isenmann and constructed between 1602 and 1606, it serves as the seat of government. Located along the charming Kornmarkt square, its towering structure and sturdy stone walls can be seen from Chapel Bridge. The landmark also features a beautiful clock tower, adding to its historical significance.
Worth a stop if you're checking out old town.

This bar and restraunt is worth the 5 stars. I ordered the half chicken with fries along with the cheese pie . I got a sweet beer summer blend . Needless to say we both left with full belies and an amazing time. Would eat here again if I came back to the area.

The Chapel Bridge in Lucerne is a wooden bridge that spans the Reuss River. It is one of the oldest covered bridges in Europe, and it is named after nearby St. Peter's Chapel. The octagonal water tower, built in the early 14th century, is the city's most photographed landmark.
Beautiful place for sightseeing. The old wooden bridge has a sad history but pretty to look at. One can easily roam the entire city and admire the old Town architecture.
The lake has many swans and ducks swimming, it's very cute. Do take a walk in the bridge.

The oldest bridge in Europe. You can read the historical facts online or follow one of the many walking tours available to grasp its significance.
This bridge provides a different architecture scene compared to its surrounding. Yet it does not seem out of place. Rather, it elevates the scenery as one of the most picturesque in Luzerne.
There are tons of alfresco dining available around the area which allows you to enjoy the scenery while eating and drinking.
Because of its popularity with tours and tourists, this bridge can be very crowded and will be difficult to navigate.

It's gorgeous and it's for free. What's not to like? It's worth noting there are stairs involved so there are some potential accessibility issues if you are not so mobile or have a stroller with you (like we did). Wasn't too busy when we visited (end of winter) but I can see this bridge getting packed with tourists during more popular times.

We visited world's oldest truss bridge today and happily ticked one item off our bucket list. This bridge restored after a fire in the 90s still has some of the original paintings left in it. It's at the centre of town connecting the two banks and looks wonderful with the water tower beside it.

Iconic landmark of Lucerne. Aside from the incredible lake, it's a must-see, or you have never been to this city. But it's busy, crazy busy, and you need to be patient to get that shot. I wished we had more time to see more sights of this lovely city, maybe another day.

The visibility can be tricky due to the clouds so I would advise go a little bit later during the day. The cart all the way up (return) was around 70 e per person.
There is a parking near by that cost us 5 euro for 5 hours.
There are restaurants all the way up. We took fries, coke and pretzel for total of 17e
The hill itself has few small hikes around the peak which is great.
It is possible to hike all the way up or down from the peak.

Wonderful place with a fantastic scenery. A lot of short (but steep) trails and beautiful climb up by the cable car. Take the time to visit the area half way up. It provides a different and nice angle.
It is better to take some snacks and drinks with you since the food and drink prices at the shops are as high as the mountain itself.

The fun thing is that we can get down at any of the stops and hike up or down as per our choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the clouds above, it felt like we were in heaven 😂, everything was blanket white. We hiked down a few kilometres till the last gondola stop. And the walk is steep but very very scenic. If you have the will and stamina, walk down a bit. It’s absolutely beautiful valley and the views are amazing 😍

It was one of the best trips we’ve had in Switzerland. There are different routes to do it, we chose to go with the boat from Luzern, then the funicular up the mountain and then the gondola and cable car down to Kriens and the bus back to Luzern - it was absolutely brilliant. Took a total of 5 - 5.5 hours from the moment we got on the boat. It is recommended to reserve a time slot for the cogwheel train otherwise you would need to wait more.

The view from the pick is absolutely stunning! The round trip ticket with the cable car cost 78 CHF. I went on Sunday so the line for taking the gondola was huge. I waited 30-40 min in the line despite the fact that I had an online ticket purchased before.
You should consider 2-3 hours at the peak of the mountain. There are several points to eat, souvenir
and Swiss watches shops and restaurants.
Don't forget to wear comfy clothes and shoes, otherwise it will be difficult to hike.

It is stunning, with a backdrop of mountains and punctuated by little towns, villages and settlements along the coastline. The water is pristine and often changes colour.
Better still, if you're heading to the Gotthard Panorama Express, catch the paddle steamer all the way to Fluelen, a trip of about 2.75 hours and the scenery just gets better and better (have your camera ready). If that is what you are doing, then you can book your luggage through to the train at the departure point in Luzern, so you don't have to worry about carrying it on board.

Sailed from Lucerne to Flüelen on the Uri, Europe's oldest paddle steamer. The 100 year old boat is in the best possible conditions and offers all amenities with a flair of the grand old times. The panoramic boat ride lasts around 2:45 h, in early October there was a fresh breeze so bring warm cloth if you plan to stay outside. The upper deck is beautifully sunny, but other areas more wind protected. The morning fog soon lifted and views opened, so don't be deterred if the morning looks gloomy. The restaurant serves food and drink, but nobody minds if you bring your own either. Indoors there are information panels and one can watch the steam engine in full action. It looks as shiny and new as it started operations yesterday, not 100 years ago.

Cozy indoors and Chilling outdoors with killing view.

We took the train from Zurich to Lucerne. It was a beautiful summer day, and I was wearing my favorite cotton high-top shoes. From Lucerne, we boarded a boat that crossed the lake toward Alpnachstad station. From there, we would take the train up the mountain to the top. Lake Lucerne shimmered in the bright sunlight as we sliced through the crystalline waves. While I twisted in my seat to get a better look at the landscape, I shifted my feet, turning them left, then right. My ankles were sore, but I couldn’t figure out why.

This lake is worth your time and effort to get there. It is super peaceful and beautiful to watch. It takes 20-30 minuten to het there by walking after the cable car, but it’s definitely worth the while.

Stunning stunning lake! Out of this world! Do yourselves a favour and do a cruise or a boat ride on the lake. You’ll be amazed by the beauty of the water and the surroundings. Photos don’t do justice.

I visited in 2001. It was very scenic and popular with international tourists. I was working in Basel which does not have any lakes, Alps or tourists so this was a change!
The Rigi mountain boasts stunning scenic views of the surrounding lakes and is renowned for activities like skiing, sledding, and hiking. It offers a panoramic view of the Swiss Alps and can be accessed via the Golden Round Trip. Visitors to Lucerne should not miss exploring its charismatic old town or visiting the Victorianox Museum to personalize their own Swiss Army Knife.
This mountain is easy to climb. Has good paths to go on and those views are stunning. At top is beautiful and you got nice view over the Alps but it is very touristic as trains come there also. But let it not stop you from walking much more fun and more to see. 1806 meters. Don't forget it's cold at the top or may rain 😉.

A truly beautiful mountain! Tram travel is included if you have the Swiss Travel Pass - we'd recommend sitting on the left side going up the mountain for the best views.

Queen of the mountains. Different sides to go up, but worth it. You can ski and hike here. Views are amazing. One side shows the alps and the other the Swiss plateau. Cities like Zurich, Lucern and Zug can all be seen.

Amazing experience. This mountain is included in the Swiss travel pass. Close to Lucerne, can also be easily done as a day trip from Zurich. Has great views different from Titlis, Jungfrau and Matterhorn. Would suggest to take the cog wheel train one way, and the cable car and boat the other way to experience the different views. View from cable car is amazing.

Less touristy and great views.
It’s also included in your Swiss pass and saver day pass without any extra fees for excursions.
Make sure you check the weather on the top before you go.

We really enjoyed Rigi. It was very easy to get to the top, minimal effort on the cogwheel train. Fantastic views 360 degrees. The day we went was quite sunny so we were able to capture its true essence. Great for families as well, use the elevator at the hotel if you have a stroller, it really helps! You need to walk all the way up to get the the stunning views.

Worthy place to spend. No crowd and I should say it’s an under rated place in Switzerland.
Very amazing views and great place to visit. A restaurant is located in the top and slightly overpriced.
Its free admission for Swiss pass holders
Don’t miss the cogwheel train & cable car routes. It’s much accessible to ferries too..

Very beautiful place to enjoy Swiss alps view, the lakes around Lucerne and all around it.
A must visit detour if you ar ein Lucerne
You get a ferry to Vitznou from Lucerne and get the cogwheel train to go all the way up. While returning you can get a gondola(ropeway) to enjoy nice view again
At the top, there are breathtaking views and there is also a restaurant to chill

Absolutely stunning! I recomend bringing warm clothes even in the summer and checking the weather in advance to see if the visibility is high so that you don’t spend a lot of money to see only clouds. I also think the tickets to visit are a bit too expensive for what is offered. However, it was truly a stunning place to visit, completely worth it. I also recomend exploring other peeks around the top of the Rigi because the views are truly breathtaking! We chose to climb up to one of the peeks that are near the first train stop after the Rigi, it was a harder climb, but totally worth it!

Rigi - The Queen of the Mountains is the place above Luzern with an amazing 360 degree view of the lakes down below. You get by train the top of the mountain, have a lunch and then walk down the hill and you can choose one of many trails.

Rigi, the queen of the mountains! Regardless of whether you take the rack railway or the many different hiking trails, the view over beautiful central Switzerland is definitely worth seeing!

It must be visited when it’s nice weather. There are a lot of ways how to reach the top and even if you don’t wanna walk up by foot you can get a train and comfortable ride to the top.
I guess, sunrises or sunsets might be amazing for watching in summer days 🏔️🌇🌆

A definite must visit during winter or spring as you get to take a boat ride on lake Lucerne with picturesque views, followed by a cogwheel ride up. Lots of photo opportunities above and you can take hikes down depending on your fitness. There’s some restaurants above as well.

Just WoW. The best option is to take the cogwheel train from Vitznau. The views are mesmerizing. On the cogwheel train from Vitznau take the left hand seats for best views.

Came here in December and the views are truly amazing. I recommend taking the cogwheel up to Rigi Kulm and then walk down the mountain to experience the drastic change of scenery, from a snowy mountain to snow intertwining green grass to big grass field.
You can also try sledging or skiing here if you like. You can rent the sledge at the store just beside Rigi Kulm.

Mount Rigi is an absolutely stunning place to visit on a beautiful winter's day. The clear blue sky & bright sunshine create a magical atmosphere, making the snow-covered landscape sparkle & shine. The views from the top of the mountain are simply breathtaking, with the surrounding alpine peaks glistening in the sunshine. Mount Rigi is a perfect destination for experiencing the beauty of nature in its winter wonderland. It's an unforgettable experience that's sure to leave a lasting impression.

Gorgeous view on the top. On one side, it’s alpine meadow, with the white peaks of the Alps as the background; one the other side, it’s Switzerland’s endless plain with towns and lakes. Definitely worth a visit (The transportation from Lucerne to the top of Rigi is totally included in the Swiss Travel Pass).

Phenomenal!!! The views are out of this world! It’s like you’re in a dream! It is really the queen of mountains! There are many hiking trails there. Both short and long ones. I hiked down the mountain to get to a cheese factory in the heart of the mountain and bought some local cheese and one beer for thr road 😄.
Amazing experience! Try going both by the cogwheel and the cable car.
