Kleftiko

Mentioned on
Outdoor Activities
Beaches
Kleftiko, a renowned tourist attraction in Milos and Greece, features striking white rock formations rising from the sea. Although it's not technically a beach, many boats tour the area to explore its sea caves and snorkeling spots. The crystal clear turquoise waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling amidst the dramatic mountainscapes. This popular destination draws visitors from all over seeking an unforgettable experience.
Wonderful place to swim and the water was super clean! You can see the bottom of the floor and there’s some fish, but not too many. We really enjoyed this swimming spot and going through the pirate caves! Make sure to get there early as boats and swimmers start to make the place busy!
Mariko Pond — Google review
Incredible place. Definitely worth hiring your own boat and going early. Perfect for swimming because it's so shallow, clear and protected. By about 10-11, there were big tour boats coming in and asking the other boats to move out of their way. We left after that to another beach. Before the big boats came in, the cove was one of the best places we've been to on Milos.
Zack Letinic — Google review
This is just an incredible place! Crystal clear waters in a secluded cove with plenty of caves to explore if you need to get out of the sun for a minute. Ideal place to swim, snorkel, or just relax on a boat. Absolutely breathtaking!
Fabrizio Garcia — Google review
Undoubtedly, this is the place to be on Milos Island. Everybody goes there. We had the privilege of spending a night there on our own boat, anchored in front of one of the caves that drop from the dramatic mountains. The water is as perfect as it can get, absolutely turquoise blue. You can swim or snorkel between the rocks and caves. One of the greatest places I’ve ever seen on this planet
Markus De — Google review
One of the most amazing places to be in milos. Built from volcanic rocks and only accessible with boat. Crystal clear waters and maybe one of the best swims you could have around the island! Totally worth visiting via daily cruises the island offers...
???????? ???????? — Google review
Amazing swim spot. only accessible by boat. Crystal clear water. Pretty remote, but one of the best beaches to see and swim around.
Brad Denning — Google review
Took a tour by boat, and took us to the bay where we were able to swim around the bay, through some caves and relax on sone rocks. The scenery is beautiful, with these incredible rock formations everywhere you look; crystal clear waters. It was quite busy with lots of other tour boats anchored. Still worth it.
Angelo Marino — Google review
Gorgeous! Unique! Went there by boat Zephyros from the beach Agia Kyriaki (30€ per person), 4 hours so we had enough time to swim and enjoy Kleftiko
milan brkljac — Google review
Although the obvious popular choice is to go on a boat to the bay, the hike is as good if not better of a choice. At just over a mile, the walk down gives you amazing views of the rocks and water. The bay itself is beyond beautiful and swimming through the arches is one of the coolest experiences you can ever experience. You must go here if you are on Milos.
Jackson Dunbar — Google review
Tl;dr Beach only accessible by boat. Beautiful. Color of the water is great, transparent, can see the ground. Well worth it. Water is cold (May) but worth a dip. Stayed in area to the side of main beach with less boats, it can get pretty crowded. Bring some food and drinks and chill 👍 would go back
Felipe Borges — Google review
Great place for snorkeling, but you need to be careful, when there are too many tourist boats around. The later you will get there the harder it is to find a good spot for your boat. Best thing would be to find a local skipper.
Martin B. — Google review
Took a boat trip to see Kleftiko. A whole day sailing the Coast, with an amazing captain. The weather wad perfect. Almost no Windows and a lot of sun. Can defently recomend them, excellentyacht. The tour startet at a beach, prostavast and then ended in Adamas.
Jonas Pedersen — Google review
Potentially the most beautiful water on earth. Only accessible by boat for the most part. Very fun to go explore water caves by small boat. Water is crystal clear with beautiful small fish. A must see paradise in Greece. Make sure to bring a swimsuit
Matt Borr — Google review
Truly an amazing place. Words cannot describe it so just enjoy some of the pictures!! Definitely worth doing a cruise to see it as it is only accessible by boat!!
Nicholas Dounetas — Google review
Definitely worth a visit, amazing cliff faces, caves and rock holes to swim in. The water is incredible
megan anderson — Google review
Great place to visit and swim. The caves are amazing and keep watch for goats up on the ledges above
William Healey — Google review
Incredible place and excellent for snorkelling. There is no beach as such, just a few rocky spots. Otherwise the point is to swim all around the caves!
Laura Porro — Google review
Wonderful place for a swim in a beautiful scenario. Only accessible via boat you need to choose one or many tours available in Milos. With a day tour we stayed there for more than a hour and it was great!

Fyriplaka beach

Mentioned on
Public beach
Fyriplaka beach is a serene and secluded sandy strip featuring distinctive stone formations and striking red-colored cliffs. The beach offers crystal clear waters, which are known for their exceptional cleanliness - allowing swimmers to enjoy the view without the need for goggles. Despite its secluded location, the beach attracts a friendly crowd of visitors who appreciate its peaceful ambiance.
The water at Fyriplaka beach is some of the clearest and cleanest water I have had the privilege to swim in while traveling around Greece. I could swim without goggles and see everything so clear. It was an amazing experience. The beach wasn’t too crowded and the few people there were friendly and pleasant to be around. It took awhile to drive and walk to this location so I think anyone who makes it just wants to enjoy the peace and beauty of this beach. I hope to see it again some day.
Christobel Gomez-Garcia — Google review
Amazing Beach! Fyriplaka has one of the clearest waters I've seen so far, almost like in a swimming pool! The surrounding is also among the nicest when it comes to beaches in the Greek islands. If you want to have shade you should bring your own umbrella or you can rent one for 20€ with two sunbeds.
AlvaLuke — Google review
One of our favorite beaches during our one week Milo stay. Water was so calm we could walk very far out into the sea and still stand. There's also lounge chairs that you can rent from a bar called Loco on the beach if you don't have your own/want to lay your towel on the sand.
lesmallcheese — Google review
Fantastic beach. Water is beautiful and comfortable. Lots of beach areas to explore. You don’t have to rent a sun bed. You can set up your own spot. Snacks and drinks available at the snack bar.
Andrew Lian — Google review
Nice place to visit, there is a sandy beach and rocks and cliffs in the background - some people even managed to build some sculptures with the stones found there - I gave it a try too and had much fun. The water is awesome, but better to go to the second part of the beach, there are much better vibes.
Khatia Gagnidze — Google review
Loved this beach. Crystal clear water, can swim around and through the big rock. Some shade in the afternoon under the cliff, but spots limited so definitely bring your own shade if possible. Didn’t feel crowded at all. Is also the departure point for the Milo’s water sports kayaking tours.
Lisa Perry — Google review
Fun beach, not too crowded on a weekday afternoon. There is a rock you can swim through that is pretty neat. Folks were continuing to the next beach, but you'll need foot wear.

Milos Mining Museum/Μεταλλευτικό Μουσείο Μήλου

Mentioned on
Heritage museum
Museums
The Milos Mining Museum showcases the island's mining heritage with exhibits, photos, and videos displaying obsidian artifacts. The museum is accessible to everyone as it has an entry ramp and wheelchair lifts on stairways. Visitors can choose to either take an hour-long guided tour or explore at their own pace. The museum provides a comprehensive history of all mining operations on the island throughout time, contributing context for visitors' beach excursions and overall understanding of the area's geology and economy.
Amazing museum, two floors full of exhibits and a room where a nice documentary is played. The museum helps to understand the mining activities, geology, and the economy of the island, which provides context for visits and exploration of the beaches. Recommended!
Kristina Gligorić — Google review
Worth the time and €’s. €7 with audio guide, €5 without. Takes about an hour with the guide or self-pace without. Built on 3 levels, it is Handicap accessible with entry ramp and wheelchair lifts on the stairways. The museum presents a good history of all the mining taking place on Milos through the ages.
Steve Walker — Google review
Unique mining museum in Greece. You can get lots of necessary information to understand milos history in terms of geology
Theofilos SHIN — Google review
Very interesting to learn more on the mining activities and the different minerals in Milos.
Francis Agresti — Google review
A very interesting museum featuring the rich history of the island in mines. Two levels packed with nicely presented exhibits and a museum shop with many choices.
skonix — Google review
Very interesting, but small, especially if more than one tour bus loads are present. Learn about volcanic mineral history. Bentonite, perlite, sulfur, obsidian, kaolin and Milos' story.
Leonard Smith — Google review
One wouldn't expect there would be such a well-curated museum in a small island such as Milos. But here it is. There are plenty of mineral samples and some that you're allowed to touch. Abundant information is provided as to the history of mining in the island and the geographical distribution of each mineral within the island. There's also a short film screening at the basement. Nice place to go after four consecutive days of outdoor activities.
Joshua Ng — Google review
Find out more about Milos as well as it’s rich mining industry in the past as well as now. Great! However, the movies were not being shown. Good to take audio guide if you get tired from reading. If movies are not available they can be watched online!
Linas Zajankauskas — Google review
It's a very nicely curated museum that educates you on Milo's rich mining history since ancient times! Worth a visit!
George Kalemis — Google review
Nice museum which describes Milos’ mining history. It can get a bit technical towards the end but all in all, it’s worth a visit to get to know a bit more about the island.

Plathiena

Outdoor Activities
Plathiena is a picturesque crescent beach nestled amidst rocky cliffs and adorned with trees. It boasts of a Greek restaurant and cocktail bar, making it an ideal spot for families to relax and unwind. The turquoise blue waters are shallow and perfect for swimming while the sandy beach provides ample space for sunbathing. However, shade is limited, so visitors are advised to carry umbrellas. Those who arrive early can rent chairs and umbrellas before they run out.
Absolutely loved this beach with the wild blue water. Such a pretty location and still quite protected even on a very windy day.
Lisa Do (thisislisax) — Google review
This is a beautiful beach! There are sunbeds available to rent but there were also spots shaded by trees on the sand. The beach is bordered by gorgeous cliffs. The water is clean, clear and waist deep for a long stretch. There weren't any seaweed or rocks that we had to go over to get into the water. The water was very calm with the occasional waves from boats passing by. There was plenty of parking too. Definitely an underrated gem.
April Locke — Google review
Great beach accessible by car. There are only a few sunbeds available so better bring your umbrella. Food and drink option in the bar
Serafeim Loukas — Google review
One of our favourite beaches in Milos. It’s so beautiful. The beach bar service is amazing, super friendly staff who are proud of their beautiful beach and the service they offer. €25 euro for a set of sunbeds and umbrella for the day with food and drink service right to the sun bed. Food was good, didn’t lift a finger. There’s also access for people with disabilities which is really nice to see.
Mary Garrett — Google review
The drive in was narrow and rough but worth it for the spectacular beach. There are parking spaces but they are limited so get there early for easy parking (before 10:30 or so). We rented 2 chairs with umbrellas and a table for €18. That was a bit pricey. However, it was really comfortable and nice to get some shade. You can also stay at the beach and not rent chairs.
John Papavizas — Google review
Nice sandy beach northwest of Plaka. We haven't been to the poolbar but it looks like the perfect place for a sundowner. You will find some nice places for snorkeling on the northern side of the bay. One great thing I like about this place is that it has a device for handicapped people so they can take a swim as well.
Martin B. — Google review
Beautiful beach with crystal clear water! Very nice for a swim. Mostly sand, get’s more rocky when you go further down the beach. There is a nice little restaurant to get a snack and something to drink with clean toilets. Also they have the ability for wheelchair users to get into the sea!
Mar — Google review
Maybe our favorite beach on Milos. It is quiet and not as heavily populated as others. You need a car to get out there. You can rent beach loungers with cushions for a reasonable rate. The restaurant was really good as well.
Bill Sering — Google review
Best beach day on Milos! IMHO, this beach does not get the credit it deserves. Our map was marked with “best beaches” we had noted from a variety of sources - this beach was not even on the list. But we happened to notice it while enjoying the view from the hilltop town of Plaka located close by. We drove down to the beach - lots of parking (some creative), easily accessible bathroom with shower (well water), cafe with drinks and snacks - all located directly across from the beach. Several changing stations available. The water is as good as it gets!! CLEAR. Emerald green gives way to cobalt blue. Great snorkeling along the adjacent cliffs. You can wade out to mid-chest deep for about 50 yards out. I look forward to visiting it again!
Jim Lynch — Google review
A favourite beach on Milos - sheltered and reasonably easy to drive to. Wheelchair access into the water for those who need it.
Fleur E — Google review
Beach was a lot quieter than the others around the island. We went and got 2 sun beds but when we left, the guy from the little restaurant charged us 18 euros. Just be aware. They have toilets & showers available. Beach itself is nice.
Amanda DeLaHoya — Google review
A nicely welcoming beach, in a far corner of Milos island. It's quite sought after, so relatively busy, but not unpleasantly so - Milos is itself quite a charming and not overcrowded island. The place has sunbeds and sun umbrellas sets (for 25€ a set in August!!) and place for towel goers (free of charge). A beach bar - restaurant is nearby; good enough food and wonderful service. Driving there is challenging - Greek style of winding, semi-paved and very narrow roads leading there; for a driving enthusiast it makes the day though...
Radu Dumitru Nica — Google review
Great beach for families, turquoise blue, sandy and shallow. A cantina on the beach serves coffees, soft drinks and beers with some snack foods to hold you over. Not a lot of shade so bring an umbrella, if you get there before 11am you have a shot to rent some chairs and umbrellas. Location alittle hard to get to but that’s what makes it a well kept secret from the whole island descending on this little piece of paradise. Oh BTW the sunsets are due west and beautiful.

Tsigrado Beach

Mentioned on
Outdoor Activities
Beaches
Tsigrado Beach is a secluded and picturesque beach nestled amidst towering cliffs, rocky passages, and caverns on the southern side of Milos island. Although challenging to access due to a steep and narrow path with ladders and ropes, the soft white sand and crystal-clear water make it a worthwhile sight. Tsigrado beach lacks organized amenities, so visitors should bring their own supplies for an enjoyable experience.
Beautiful beach! Hard to enter: look at the picture. You need to climb the latter up and down! When you arrive at the beach it’s amazing! It’s isolated by the cliffs on the sides and the small cave makes a fantastic place to swim and have fun. The beach is small, but it’s perfect out of season when there is not that many tourists!
Michael Andersen — Google review
Stunning beach but difficult to access. You need to use two massive ladders and rope to climb down. I’m scared of heights but could go down easily. Do not go with kids and I recommend to have good shoes or no shoes. We left our flip flops behind the time to experience this small adventure.
Marie Tessier — Google review
This was so fun adventuring to! Beach is beautiful and the view is stunning. The ladders aren’t easy, so the beach definitely isn’t busy.
Alix Burkart — Google review
Beautiful hidden away beach. The ladders are definitely a bit scary at first, but they are well worth the trouble! It is doable in flip flops but I would definitely recommend wearing sneakers. When you get down to the beach be sure to swim out to the tucked away caves on both sides.
Nicholas Perkons — Google review
Great cove to visit with a tricky decent into it. There is free parking at the top and then you climb down two ladders to reach the beach. Shoes advisable for the climb and pack light, as the rocks you have to travel between are tight. Highly recommend getting there early in the morning. (We got there at 9am and the beach already had a few people on it). Beach has limited space and a lot of people arrive around 11am, including boats that drop off tourists. Clear waters with a couple of caves you can explore. The sea floor is a mixture of large rocks and sand. Sea shoes recommended. Half of the cove is in the shade for the first half of the morning.
Nathan Attenborough — Google review
Overrated. Okay, the ladder experience is fun but can become scary for some people. After that, you'd expect a great beach and yet you get dry seaweed a bit everywhere, just a few meters of sand, and not much space. Maybe by boat it can be better - but go check firopotamos instead.
Deka DQ — Google review
Getting down to the beach on foot is challenging. There are two staircases and a rope. It is steep, rocky and slippery. The steps on the stairs are big. But very worthwhile when you get down! The beach is small and mostly rocky. There are beautiful caves and lovely snorkelling spots.
Laura Porro — Google review
Well worth the hike down the cliff side to swim at this beach. The views at the top are stunning and one my favorite memories that will last a lifetime. I hope I can return to Greece some days soon for more adventures. Be safe and happy travels.
Christobel Gomez-Garcia — Google review
Double ladder descent to the beach makes this place so special. Highly recommend functional footwear. We went early in the day to avoid crowds and had it to ourselves for a little bit. Crystal clear water and incredibly cool rocks!
Aubrey Mable — Google review
Great little beach. Worth getting there by boat as opposed to car. If you drive/walk there you enter the beach via a ladder. The actual sand part of the beach is pretty small. There's lots of shallow, crystal clear water. Great for swimming especially if the wind is blowing. Relatively protected beach. Definitely less boats than kleftiko. I think there were only 2 other small boats there when we were.
Zack Letinic — Google review
This beach was amazing. My group ended up going back several times during our stay in Milos. Such a fun adventure to climb down ladders on a cliff to reach a beautiful beach. The beach area itself is fairly small, every time we went we didn’t have trouble getting an area to lay down at and leave our things, the water here felt so refreshing and was such a beautiful color. Highly recommend checking this beach out if you can!
Luke McNeal — Google review
Not a beach you go for their safety rating but that’s all part of the adventure, there’s a couple of steep ladders down into a deep cove beach, some nice caves, very rocky, best to get there earlier in the day as it looses sun later on
Rhys Walker — Google review
(Translated by Google) The best beach in Milos. Access is not easy, the first part is more or less fine, the last staircase that goes down to the beach is a bit complicated. Nothing that can't be done! In the end, everyone who wants comes down. It has a small cave that is an oasis of peace and tranquility. The beach is spectacular, but you have to bring an umbrella. I recommend wearing shoes tied to the foot to go down and up.
Carla Fernández — Google review
If you are somewhat in shape, it's a must!! Would avoid with kids or older people. We had to wait for 10+ people to come up one by one for us to go down, but once the "traffic" passes, it's basically going down a ladder. Make sure to watch where you put your feet and you're good to go. Stunning view for snorkeling place, calm water. Not lots of place to lay down so less crowds. Would go back and stay longer😁
tiffany leonard — Google review
If you want to access the beach, it's at your own risk because you gotta go down an old ladder. The final destination is a private small beach to swim, not much space to lay down. Beautiful view regardless.
Janessa Mari Oriel — Google review
Beautiful small beach, a little difficult to get to if you’re not able to climb a ladder etc, much easier to get back up vs get down there. there’s very little beach available to lay on but the water was beautiful and relatively calm and had a lovely pocket of sunshine and a nice breeze. Definitely toasty
Christina Tran (Tiinadear) — Google review
Beach accessible by going down the ladder. When we arrived there was a queue to get down. There is set of two ladders. Pretty tricky to get down. I'd recommend proper footwear as it is easy to fall with flip flops on. Once down there is pretty, small beach. Lovely place, can get crowded though.
Marta Barczak — Google review
Beautiful isolated beach. Be warned that the descent down the cliffs via an old wooden ladder is not for the faint hearted! During peak season it get quite backed up, due to people both trying to come down and go back up the single file ladders at once.
Joshua Bayly — Google review
It is not that hard to go down, go with comfortable shoes because you’re gonna have to go down two very sketchy stairs and the beach is very very small and crowded. You also have to wait to go up or down because there is only one way of stairs so it takes some time if there’s people. I liked it more when I saw it from above than when I went down. It is very pretty but I honestly liked other beaches more than this one. I recommend to go to fyriplaka which is next to this one and is bigger and with a nicer view and the most crystal water I’ve ever seen

The family-run O! Hamos! Tavern serves traditional Milos recipes such as cheese pies and goat and potato dishes. The terrace has charming views over the Papikinou beach.
Worth the wait to visit this Taverna (queued for over and hour - but can order a drink and sit across the street on beach chairs). Unique, hand written menu in multiple languages including a story about the restaurant. Food was very good, portions are generally pretty large.
Brandt Lovell — Google review
Typical Greek restaurant. Nice location. Impossible to have dinner in the evening, too many people and bad organization of the staff. Better the lunch. I liked the description of the menu. Good choice of dishes. This restaurant is good but I don't understand all the interest in eating here. The value for money isn't special.
M. Brau (BRMA92) — Google review
You want a Greek authentic tavern - here you go. Absolutely everything tastes authentic- from the freshness of food, its simplicity and beauty, to the harmony of the place. Recommend it 100%. We went in the middle of the afternoon for a late lunch and we got a table immediately. Service is good and we even got a small free dessert at the end. Amazing.
Deka DQ — Google review
I can't say enough nice things about this place. Adorable seaside tavern with food locally sourced from their farm on the island. Their entire menu (and story of how the restaurant originated) is hand written in 4 different languages. All their plates/cups are hand made for the restaurant, and food was incredible. Super cute place and friendly service!
Kathryn Crouch — Google review
We came back to this place twice. A day after another. We found this tavern by chance, and every single dish we ordered was perfect. The family that runs this place is so nice and give attention to every detail. You really feel like you are part of their Greek family and it's really amazing. We ordered the wheat with orange and olive oil that was amazing and the cheekpeas that were wonderful. We also reccomened to try their cheese and cheese pies. EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS! Really really recommended!
Mor Sofer — Google review
Amazing spot in Milo’s. We had a large variety of appetizers to try a bit of everything. Everything was truly delicious. Service was inviting and timely. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with the outdoor seating mostly covered in a cool vine roof. It provides great sun protection and the beach breeze keeps you cool. Cross the road and the have beach chairs and service on the beach! Great place, highly recommend!
Ray Miller — Google review
Traditional Greek tavern, which we were recommended to go to. We arrived for lunch, and although busy, managed to get a table straight away. The menu is handwritten, starting with a story about family, life on the farm, and connecting people through their passion for food. It’s quite special. The food is delicious, particularly the chickpeas in clay pot. If you had a Greek grandmother who had secret recipes past down through generations, this must be the place. The service was a tad slow, which let us drift into the moment but needed to leave eventually and didn’t get any urgency. As I said, it was busy so prepare to stay over at least an hour. Still, the food lives up to the ratings - that’s the real focus here. There’s also a beach area out the front where you can relax by the sea and order drinks and snacks. I needed energising, so I ordered a flat white before we left and took a moment to admire the beach. By this time, the caffeine kicked in. So we walked back to the ATV, turned the key in the ignition and rode out to our next destination with full hearts, and full stomachs.
Guy — Google review
I have heard a lot of good things about the Tavern, so I had very high expectations. The location of the restaurant is okay, but unfortunately it‘s located on a very busy street. Otherwise, the atmosphere is very nice and quaint. The food tasted very good. I highly recommend the fried meatballs and the wild goat in lemon-mustard sauce. I don't really understand the hype about the restaurant though. It's good but still not that special.
Philine Möllering — Google review
I had a delightful dinner experience here. We started with the aubergine salad, which was good, though the aubergines could have used a bit more flavor. The cheese topping was a nice touch. The Piglet served with couscous was a standout, incredibly tender and full of flavor - we loved every bite! We also tried the Veal Skewers, which, while a bit dry, were easily improved with some added black pepper and salt. The service is exceptional, staff is friendly and the ambiance is enchanting. The garden tables and the sunset lights reflecting on the sea across the road created a picturesque setting. With all factors considered, I would rate this restaurant 4 stars out of 5. A great place for a pleasant dining experience!
Bilal Çeler — Google review
This place was so worth the wait! Traditional yummy dishes, we loooooved the piglet and their homemade cheese! The warm grilled bread was great, but the best was the cheese pies! Unbeatable! I would eat those cheese pies all day long ❤️
Maud Hu — Google review
Traditional taverna with Greek cuisine and a nice presentation with handwritten menus and courtyard. Food is great and the service is good but considering how hard it is to get a table, once in they forget you when you ask for the bill and more people are waiting to come in. No booking so go early in the evening. Loved the aubergine and courgette dishes.
Alina K — Google review
Traditional Greek tavern with even a hand written menu. The food was great, really well priced and outdoor setting of the restaurant was fantastic. We went for lunch to avoid the queues and got in without a problem. The green beans and eggplant were definitely the highlights. If you’re on Milos, definitely make a stop in for lunch and you won’t be disappointed!
Jason Lindsay — Google review
Amazing place in Milos that definitely worth to come by! As first timer, their artichoke egg is awesome, the slow cooked piglet and the pork with couscous are something to tried for! We went for lunch and the atmosphere, the ambiance and the service really good.
alice ajosephine — Google review
Incredible local food with almost all of the ingredients from the Island of Milos itself, especially the wild goats that roam freely on the mountains. (Which is the dish I had and is pictured). Very comfortable, and relaxing atmosphere with only a small road separating you and the quiet beachfront. Definitely worth a visit for some lovely local food and drinks. (Wild Goat with potatoes, local beer, Granny's Sweet Wine) We also shared a salad and had the interesting syrup dessert
Zak G — Google review
Lovely homely atmosphere. Very nice service. We did not need to queue. Nice that the menus are handwritten. Plenty of vegetarian options. Nice crockery! And the food was quite tasty. Reasonably priced. We particularly enjoyed the dessert of pumpkin jam with yoghurt mousse.

Harty home cooked meals is what I have to say about this place. You could feel the love in those dishes. Would definitely come here again! The atmosphere is great and the story of the place is amazing. Huge portions!
John Pelasio — Google review
What I would do to come back here every day of my life, absolutely incredible. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is divine! My partner and I came for lunch one sunny day and stayed for hours. Yiayias meatballs are a must try and the pasta reminded me of what my own yiayia makes back home in Australia. We didn’t wait to sit at lunch time but there was a line the next day but it was moving fast. We sat on the beach beds the next day where the food was just as good just a limited menu. Love love love! The Greek coffee is also very good.
Cassandra Papadopoulos — Google review
Tasteful local greek cuisine. Around 19:00 it gets very busy and you have to wait sometimes more than an hour. We tried once at 21:00 and we gave up. Although it deserves the very good critics and rating it has. I recommended it
Dimitrios Chaniotis — Google review
The food, especially the piglet, was very nice. The service not so much. Except the hostest. She was the only person there that gave us a welcome feeling. But place is very nice decorated, nice atmosphere, and there menus are handwritten! (Well, the first one) The food was also great. The piglet is tender and juicy. Really a recommendation to try out!

The enchanting Medusa restaurant in Madrakia village overlooks the Aegean Sea and is a popular spot for seafood dining. The greek taverna has beautiful views of the ocean and is a great place to sit in still days when the weather is nice. The mezze plate is perfect for sharing, with items such as smoked sun-dried mackerel, pitarakis (Milos cheese pie), grilled sardines and zucchini balls all being favourites.
UPDATE 2: We came back again. Because why not? UPDATE: We had to come back. And it was even better. Medusa must surely be the best restaurant on Milos. We’ve visited all of the others with good reputations. None come close. Original: The location is idyllic. Service is attentive. The calamari, sardines and Greek salad are excellent. What a fabulous spot for a sunset dinner! The fried calamari and octopus was simply amazing. Try save some space for their desserts as they were so tasty too. Very good, casual service. Highly recommend!

INCREDIBLE food. We waited 40 min for a table and after experiencing their food I would wait for 2 hours!! Our waiter was an absolute delight. I ended up ordering eel - something I would never even have thought to try - all thanks to his colorful and detailed description on the flavor and preparation of the meal. The tuna was amazing and so was all the small plates we tried. AND the view is spectacular. This is definitely a rare gem. Excellent food plus a view!

We loved everything about this restaurant! We ordered marinated anchovies, grilled sardines, grilled octopus and fried calamari. So good! I don't think the calamari can be topped! It was so nice to hear the waves while eating! The Servers are very attentive, too. I thought it was fairly priced for the quality of food!

Great location is the best location. It cannot be better than this. The food was excellent, every dish we ordered was incredible. Avoid the Octopus on the grill take it in vinegar much better. The swordfish souvlaki was super good. Don't miss the grilled calamari. We had the house rose and it was the best we had in the island. Overall - don't miss. Try to arrive early as it gets super packed.

Fabulous place! The host was wonderful. We came here twice and both times had a nice table and great food and drinks. House wine is amazing. There is a line but moves very quickly. Right next to the restaurant there is church you can explore and the docks where you can swim.

I could order the whole menu. If you can't find something to eat here you must be fussy. The octopus, taramasalata, white wine, sardines were divine. Perfect location. Lots of parking. Sunset is lovely but it's low so not a true ocean sunset. Good service. Very impressed.

WOW. The view is stunning. We ordered 4 dishes (cows milk grilled in honey, anchovies, eel, and the swordfish), which I thought might be too much but we ate every single bite and then ordered the chocolate pie with ice cream for dessert- do not skip! After a week in Greece, so far this has easily been our favorite dinner.

A beautiful spot and definitely worth a visit but the food was a bit of a disappointment. The swordfish souvlaki was very dry and the Medusa signature salad quite boring. The octopus in vinegar on the other hand was delicious but it wasn’t an experience that deserves more than 3 stars.
Lisa Do (thisislisax) — Google review
I was hanging out to visit Medusa for months, journeying across the world from Sydney to try this place out. It did not disappoint. The food here is amazing, and the view just incredible. Grab a quad bike and ride across the island for lunch here. The grilled local cheese is great, Greek salad with local cheese is incredible, and the sun dried grilled octopus just delicious. Get desserts - they surprised me (I normally don’t like dessert, but lemon pie thing was excellent).

Wonderful meal and experience in a beautiful location. We met the owner who has a daughter living in our hometown and was so warm and friendly in talking to us. We had the horiatiki salad, fried Milos cheese pies, calamari and the grilled octopus along with some fresh bread and a bottle of Greek white wine. Sat in beautifully lit patio overlooking the cliff/harbor. Little bit of a wait (20 minutes) but worth it. Photos taken of harbor after dinner were spectacular.

Great and friendly staff. This place is like a well oiled machine. Said wait was 40 minutes and sat us 10 minutes later. While we waited there is an area to order drinks which was nice. Food was excellent but only took a pic of the grilled calamari. Excellent. Grilled Shrimps, Greek sausage with fries, Greek salad with “local” cheese and saganaki. Excellent-

Best spot. Go early and put your name down for a table. We went for lunch and although busy we only had a short wait. The service is so good, we even were allowed to wait for a table by the waterfront. The food is incredible, very fresh and authentic. Recommend the grilled local cheese and squid

Best food in Greece. Everything was melt in my mouth. Great texture and amazing flavor for every dish! Fried calamari was speechless. Thank you so much for best experience

AMAZING. So so good. We had almost all the seafood and it was all fresh and authentic. Would highly recommend the eel and calamari and octopus and cod and tuna. Not many times you can find a place that is stunning in food and the view!! We watched the sunset over the waters and it was perfect. Would highly recommend coming here. Anticipate making a reservation and having a bit of a wait, we left at 2100 and there were still people waiting in line!!

Truly amazing restaurant with delicious and well presented local delicacies. Highly recommend! We enjoyed the sun dried and grilled octopus, deep fried calamari, grilled sardines, and several salads and cheeses. Every seat is a beautiful view. Recommend to make reservations to guarantee seating.

Everything was tasty but place was a bit pricey compare to other places. Prefer Greek salad with local goat cheese rather than feta cheese. Octopus was not soft enough and tasting too smoky

We ate there for the first time after being in Milos 8 times and for us it’s one of the best restaurants on the island. We liked it so much that we came a second time. The location of the restaurant is simply stunning as you have a direct view of the Aegean Sea. The staff is super friendly and courteous, the prices are also very good for Milos. We tried several things (gavros, sardines, octopus, mackrele, appetizers like taramas, zucchini balls, feta with honey etc.) and everything tasted exceptionally good. For dessert, I can only recommend the Kataifi. So delicious!!! We will definitely come back.

This place is shocking beautiful. We got a table on the sea and the atmosphere was similar to a 200 euros restaurant. The staff is very nice and funny, they joked with us and offer also a liquor. Eating 2 dishes of fresh fish and a salad with 1l of wine was around 55 euros, very good offer. The problem was that the fish was without any side dish and really really too salty. Was difficult to eat at the end. Is a pity because I am sure that raw material is excellent

Astakas Cafe Restaurant is a charming waterfront taverna in the fishing village of Klima. Serving fresh seafood, Astakas is Milos most romantic restaurant. The sunsets are especially photogenic here, with guests watching the bays traditional fishermen's houses turn golden as they dine by candlelight.
Great view, the ambiance was great. Wasn’t too loud and this restaurant is perfect for a sunset dinner. Our server was Giorgios and he was great. Friendly, kind and made sure we got our lemon sorbet. I ordered the shrimp linguine and chocolate pie, I recommend the chocolate pie for anyone who enjoys a thick, rich chocolate dessert, similar to fudge. Everyone gets a complementary lemon sorbet after their meal which I thought was a special touch. Definitely recommend making reservations in advance to be sat by the water.

The view was so beautiful, a perfect spot for sunsets! For the front tables you need to book in advance many days before, but they have many tables in the second and third row with also great view. The food was ok, and the staffs were nice.

I’ve been in Milos 3 times , I’ve tried many restaurants and this is by far the best one on the island. Can also say that it’s on my top tier list between all the restaurants I’ve visited in my life in Greece in general. Delicious food , good views located right on the beach of Klima, super friendly staff , reasonable prices for its high quality dishes. The cold fish dishes like ceviche, tartar & carpaccio are a must try

We dined at this restaurant today, drawn in by its picturesque seafront location. Sitting by the sea with the sunset casting mesmerizing reflections on the water is truly unforgettable. The Fried Zucchini Sticks were a highlight; they were not only delicious but also generously portioned. The Greek salad was decent, and the Fried Sardines were quite tasty. However, our experience took a downturn with the Wild Sea Bream. We ordered it steamed with white wine, as suggested by the waiter, but it arrived as grilled disappointingly dry and filled with bones. Sadly, our feedback fell on deaf ears, and the second waiter we spoke to offered only a perfunctory apology without any attempt to address the issue. The side salad and couscous were rather lackluster, and the side vegetables with the Sea Bream were surprisingly overcooked/hard boiled. It’s disheartening to encounter such shortcomings in a restaurant with such a stunning setting. Overall, this place has potential, but there’s a clear need for improvement in both the food quality and the staff’s attitude, attention to detail, and communication. We can only give it 3 stars, primarily due to the Sardines and Fried Zucchini Sticks. The rest of our experience left us quite disappointed.

Very nice place for some lunch/dinner! On the pricier side of things if you want fresh fish or a larger meal, we had two beers and two mains and a water, which came to around €45 Food was good, we had fresh octopus and steamed muceles Definitely drive to the location as the walk back is a long and steep hike up the mountain side! Unless you’re into that kind of thing! Very pretty situation on the coastline, wouldn’t describe it as a beach, more of a small port! Nice covered area for those that like the shade, and ones more outwards on the pier in the hot sun, depending on preference

Situated between boat houses on the waterfront in Klima, the restaurant location blew us away before we even open the menu. Waves lapping, sun shining, gentle chatter. We order the grilled shrimp and it comes fresh and full of flavour — the holy grail of Greek seaside dining. The orzo pasta with catch of the day fish is rich and deep and delicious. We laugh, we loiter, we finish our wine, we have a nap. We return after sundown excited for more. Thinking we've had enough seafood for the day we order chicken. It comes dry and chewy and tasteless. Stick with the seafood and steer clear of the chicken and you're in for a good time. The difference is night and day.
Andy Hogan — Google review
The breaded fish was nice, but my favourite was the beef in beer. Unfortunately we couldn't really taste the beer but that's ok as it was already very tasty. The chicken with rice was alright too. It can get quite hot during lunch hours, so do get the seats within the shade if you're planning to stay for long.

My fiancé (now husband) two years ago were looking at a location to have our wedding with good service. We came across Astakas which had the most genuine and helpful servers. We immediately reached out to the owner and Irene was there every step of the way to give us suggestions to make our day amazing. 3 years later and eating there over a dozen of times, the service and food have always been exceptional! Not one single person made a complaint about the food and all plates were returned empty. After going to many weddings in New York and Greece, this is the first time I’ve see the owners be so dedicated and involved in the process and wedding day! Irene ensured to check out every table was pleased, even the tables with over demanding guests. They made our most important day of our life the most memorable!!!!! Also, try their octopus, our guests are still talking about It. Thank you for everything that you’ve done! Love, Alex and Eve

The best food we had in Milos! So delicious and authentic, they catch all their seafood the morning of so everything is fresh. The service was amazing, very lovely staff. Recommend making a reservation, we had to wait and were fortunate enough to get a table right before sunset! Highly recommend when visiting the island.

Breathtaking view, best spot to watch the sunset. You need to book in advance for the front row tables, we were given a table behind where the view was semi-blocked by the building in front. A bit on the pricey side but the portions were filling and everything tasted good. Good wine variety. Recommended if you are in the area but best to make a reservation beforehand.

My husband and I were in Greece for two weeks. This was our favorite dinner during our entire trip! The seafood tasted really fresh and everything had great flavor. The service was on the slower side, but that just means more time for drinking wine.

A great place for two, better yet three reasons! 1. The view is stunning! Been there for dinner, at around sunset time, therefore my two accompanying photos show the setting sun 2. The food is really good: impressive Greek/Mediterranean cuisine, with attention to proper details, such as dish arrangement, good wine offerings, good service. 3. Klima village, hosting Astakas restaurant is a place one must visit! Get there and you will understand the relation Man (and mankind) has with the Sea!

We just finished an amazing lunch in this beautiful village right next to the sea. On top of the scenery which is unique for the island (don’t miss walking along the shore to see the colorful houses), the fresh fish and amazing ceviche & tartar, what was really outstanding was the friendly and effective service. A must-visit if you are in Milos

We drove 18 mins to come to this restaurant because of the high reviews. Sadly we were very disappointed with the food. The seafood was extremely over cooked to the point that the shrimps were almost rubbery. The squid was also very tough while the orzo was okay. I don’t recommend the zucchini fries as suggested by the other review! The service and view was great though.

The location is prime for a dinner at sunset. The seabass grilled or friend was amazing. So much flavor in such a simple meal. We had dinner and great views. Perfect date night. You might need a reservation in peak season. We got lucky n stumbled upon this spot

Incredible food. Wonderful service. The ambiance is fantastic! Highly recommend! We ate here several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All wonderful meals and authentic Greek seafood cuisine. Alevromilos is a charming tavern located halfway between Adamas and Pollonia on the island of Milos. Founded by Vassilis Papakinos in 2001, this restaurant is a tribute to Maleki cuisine, offering traditional dishes with an Italian twist. One of their popular dishes is moussaka with fava instead of the usual bechamel sauce. Visitors can also enjoy cooking classes with Vasilis, who is known for his warm hospitality and culinary expertise.
Parking in front of the restaurant is a big plus. We dined on local products. Greek cuisine is home-style and authentic. Zucchini fritters are excellent and there were 9 of them (which is very filling!). As a main course, we took a moussaka and a pasticio (mix between lasagna and moussaka). The staff is very pleasant and smiling. The price is absolutely right!!! The only downside is the lack of view. I recommend!!!

We took a cooking class with the owner, and head chef, Vasilis. It was a special and memorable experience that we will never forget! Highly recommend messaging Vasilis on Google to book, and also to eat at his restaurant. Vasilis is a very friendly and welcoming host. I would not consider myself a cook, but felt comfortable and had a great time. My wife on the other hand, is an incredible cook, and was blown away by the experience. She learned so much and has many takeaways to apply in her own cooking. You certainly do not need to be a "cook" to enjoy this experience After making 15 dishes in 2 hours, we were seated outside at his lovely restaurant to enjoy the food and wine. Vasilis was hospitable, making sure we had what we needed, but also gave us privacy to enjoy the meal and time together. Overall we had a wonderful time. The whole experience, from the actual cooking, to learning about local cuisine, and chatting with Vasilis, was so much fun. While it was supposed to be 2 hours, 11-1pm, we were there until close to 3, as he gave us plenty of time to enjoy each other's company. Highly recommend booking this cooking class and enjoying Vasilis beautiful restaurant! His authentic joy and care for his guests is easy to see. Thank you Vasilis for a one-of-a-kind experience we will never forget 🙏

Our favorite travel involves a cooking class of the local cuisine. Chef Vasilis put us to work making 16 dishes in 1.5 hours! He was authentic and a good communicator. He figured my husband was the most resistant to learning to cook and he taught him dicing and knife skills. Then put him to work at a 6 burner chef stove! We stuffed ourselves with the meal with leftovers for two more meals! Great fun that we would recommend to everyone!

Chouette petit restaurant dans un cadre agréable. Cependant je reste déçue de la moussaka que j’ai trouvée assez sèche et qui manquait de saveurs selon moi. Autrement, bon service et le personnel très sympathique (Translated by Google) Nice little restaurant in a pleasant setting. AMAZING!! Highly recommend! Even had listed vegan options that are DELICIOUS! My partner and I came here for lunch today and ordered the zucchini dumplings (vegan), chick peas in the oven (vegan), fava cream pudding (vegan) and a Greek salad (vegetarian). Large portions, very well priced!! I usually finish everything on my plate, but I had to take my leftovers with me as I was so full. Outdoor seating with a very good breeze, good light music and the waiter was very friendly :) would come here again! We’ve travelled through Athens and Paros, and this is one of the best meals we have had!

If you are staying in Milos and want to expand your palate, Alevromilos is a MUST TRY for your itinerary. This place consistently serves some of the most delicious and flavorful food you will find on the island! It’s location in Parasporos is nice and quiet and accessible from any part of the island. Outside dining is peaceful and warmly lit. After deciding to go out for dinner as a family, we were quickly greeted and seated upon entry and given recipes in the language of our choice, along with complimentary bread and belde (there is always something new every time you go here so i recommend stopping by multiple times!) We ordered our appetizers (strongly recommend the pitarakia and zucchini fritters) and all of the food was flavorful with notably good portion sizes. At this point the chef also came out to greet us😁. When our main dishes came out, we could not help but take pictures. Beautiful plating, generous portion sizes, and complex flavor set this restaurant apart from the many other fine dining restaurants across the island. I was at first a bit off put my my dish as i picked up a corner of sauce and got a strong taste of allspice, however in combination with the rooster it becomes a lighter flavor that meshes with the other spices which are layered masterfully. We even ended up getting dessert here, during which our waiter recommended gelato with koufeto (caramelized pumpkin) which was SOOOOO good. Again, if you want to expand your palate while you are in Milos this is a MUST TRY restaurant! Thank you Chef Vasilis Papikinos and staff for a wonderful experience 😆

Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service. The pitarakia was to die for, and the local feta in brine was the best cheese I’ve ever had in my life (and we just came from France and Switzerland). The Location is nice in a quiet place where you can enjoy the food away from the noise in the town of adamantas. The garden is really nice and it gives you a nice feeling about the place. The service is good, they welcome you with a nice smile and they make sure that you are settled well. The food is really nice and authentic and you can feel how much the chef is passionate about cooking from the flavors. I tried the summer salad and the meat cooked in the oven. I can confess that the meat was soooooo good and tender even thought I am not a big fan of meat in general but it was above my expectations. If you are looking for unforgettable food tasting experience you should visit this restaurant while you are in Milos

Excellent restaurant. Great portions, below average prices and delicious dishes. For example, this moussaka with fava instead of bechamel was only 11€ and the portion was well above average size. Many vegetarian and vegan main dishes available. People should stop doing 1h lines for the highest rated restaurants in Milos because they're missing out on excellent options like this one.

What an excellent experience that was! We went upon opening of the 2020 summer season! First of all, covid wise everything was as expected so no worries there. Now to the main point which is the food! Unexpectedly delicious Greek food! Soooo delicious that words fail to describe it! The menu at the time was limited but there were enough dishes to satisfy your appetite and taste the cycladic cuisine! Prices? You get what you pay for and that is great tasty food, so no worries there too! The dessert in the last picture is on the house :)

Sirocco is a casual all-day restaurant with a volcanic origin in Milos' south coast. Geothermal springs near the tavern slow cook dishes for hours, while owner Stella Tseroni's son digs up your meal. Menu favorites include pork shanks, potatoes with spiced cheese and fish baked with vegetables. Outdoor seating provides views of Paleochori beach and the Aegean Sea.
Quite a unique experience, unlike any other. Volcanic location right on the beach provides scenic views, besides the Volcanic earth provides natural heat to cook fish and lamb in a sandy pit right beside the restaurant. Don't forget to witness the process of cooking!! Delicious Greek cuisine. 😋
Girish Yajnik — Google review
A restaurant that provides a unique way of cooking for a few dishes. The lamb and eggplant were delicious! But overall the food was a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. The wait staff were great and very accommodating. In terms of the volcanic dishes, I was expecting something a little different in terms of taste, but my palette didn't really notice anything beyond regular means of cooking food - especially when comparing to the New Zealand Hangi style of cooking.

A must visit, delicious food and great location! We originally wanted to go for the volcano sand cooked fish but there is a minimum weight order of .5 kg for the fish and we didn’t want that much. We ordered off of the volcano sand cooked section and ordered the Potato’s, Aubergine, and Lamb. We ordered the Muscles as well. Every dish was full of flavour, one of the best meals we have had in Greece. The sauce for the potatoes were amazing, the lamb was so tender and the muscles were in a creamy sauce that was just mouthwatering.

The view is amazing, the entire restaurant is very pretty and almost fancy looking. The food was great and the staff was so nice! Would recommend the dips and bread that they serve with great olive oil! The lamb cooked in the volcanic ash was super tender! The only negative point was the crayfish orzo which was quite salty it was hard to finish (although still flavorful)

Wonderful food we had roast lamb that was cooking in the sand for 8-10 hrs. The meat was falling off the bone! Also you can order fish but takes 45 minutes to cook in the sand. Service was great as well and the restaurant is right on the beach. After we ate with my wife we sat on beach chairs and then took a dive in the sea. Perfect day!

Really good meal and unique experience! The sand pits heated by the volcano used for cooking is really cool. We shared the mussels, potatoes and rooster - all excellent! The banana chocolate dessert was a great end to the meal while entertained by the beach cats.

Recommended by a local, this place delivers in a generally positive way. Slick service, and varying food. The bread in Greece is never going to send you into Italian or French raptures. Maybe it's because everything else is so frikkin yum? Here it's no different, though the sticks are top notch. The Greek salad with watermelon is really excellent, as long as you can stomach the artery hardening deluge of dead sea salty capers. The eggplant from the volcanic oven looks the goods, but the expected exterior bitterness doesn't eventuate..sadly the inside is quite bitter and watery. There's a shortage of water everywhere, and these island are no exception. As a result, produce can be as risky as a walk on a deserted beach in the Northern Territory ...unless you're Bindi Irwin...

We stopped in here after a boat excursion nearby. We ordered the fish cooked in volcanic sand and a Greek salad with white wine. The fish is not the best idea if you’re hungry since it takes 45 min to cook - really an hour before they will be serving you. Everything was delicious and fresh with high quality ingredients. I was surprised to see the only ingredients used with the fish were lemon, EVOO, & salt but sometimes simple flavors work better. A pricier place for lunch with slow service but overall a great experience.

MUST GO TO RESTAURANT IN ΜILOS!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An incredibly unique, memorable and delicious experience. From service, to the quality/presentation of the food, to the views. We had the most amazing food experience of our life. The chef used lot of natural elements and we had two dishs cooked in the sand heated by local volcano. The staff was super friendly and nice.
