The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is a family-friendly attraction that takes visitors on an interactive journey through some of the world's most beloved stories written by British author Beatrix Potter. The exhibit includes a recreation of the English countryside complete with sights, sounds and smells from the tales.
Really good museum. Love the displays and story. The only thing I would say even though it is wheelchair accessible, in places it is very tight and dark. Furthermore, the attraction exit is especially tight and the slope outside the entrance is very steep just be careful.

What a magical place. At the entrance I didn't expect much but once inside I was surprised. It was full of beauty and imagination magic. The scenes are put together well and lots of information around the trail. There is a children's activity booklet that is free and worth doing. Lots of questions and quizzes to help keep the children engaged. My only improvement would be the attraction could do with being in a bigger setting as was only small and compact.
Ann M — Google review
If you grew up with Beatrix Potter books & stories then you would find this place interesting. My Mrs & 7yo daughter loved it, I was bored. Being half term we expected it to be busy, queued for 45 minutes. I recommend that you get there early as the nearby car park was practically full by 10:40. A bit claustrophobic in places. Spent about an hour there , personally I would rather have saved my £9 . Staff were good & friendly. Seafarers chip shop opposite does nice fish & chips. You can’t buy tickets in advance neither

Absolutely mesmerizing. A more immersive adventure through a whimsical and enchanting storybook world it would be hard to find, even at fancy expensive Disney amusement parks. If you have any appreciation for the idyllic and ethereal rural landscapes of bygone days, and you probably do if you're in the Lake District, come here. It is one of the most imaginative and whimsical places I have seen lately, playful without being extravagant or gaudy. The sensory details here are nothing short of remarkable: frogs on spinning lily pads, small and cozy houses among the lakes and burbling streams, even a canopy of russet autumn leaves accompanied by chattering squirrels. Walking through this place feels like being transported back to the unadorned, winsome curiosity and sincerity of old folklore and fable.

We had a great visit a few weeks ago. A place of wonder and imagination, bringing back memories of the stories as a child... We highly recommend going and exploring The World of Beatrix Potter. No complaints... We got some good tips for plants from the friendly gardener too!
Edward James Turrall — Google review
A wonderful place to indulge yourself in the classic Petter Rabbit and other lovely stories by Beatrix Potter The attraction begins with a short film introducing the life of Beatrix Potter and her connections with the Lake District, followed by the vivid characters depicted in her stories. These story settings are relatively in a small scale but delicate. The electronic panels next to the sets help visitors explore more about the character. However, some are broken and not yet repaired for use.
Hao-Ting Chuang — Google review
Fantastic experience with our family and three year old grandson. He was transfixed by all the displays and loved every single minute of our visit. We also had tickets to Peter Rabbit’s birthday party in the theatre which was also very, very, very enjoyable. The cast were fantastic and engaged with all the children in the audience. We also had lunch in the cafe which was fab too.
Steve Booth — Google review
This attraction in the Lake District celebrates everything about Beatrix Potter – the 20th century English author and illustrator who is best known for her imaginative children’s books, the most famous of all being The Tale of Peter Rabbit. She wrote 23 books in total. Well worth a visit with the family or even solo. Friendly staff and well priced gifts. Lovely garden too!
Jo Webber — Google review
Adults will gain as much pleasure from visiting here as children will. My husband and I spent almost 2 hours walking through the amazing scenery and underground world of these animals. Some families were moving through more quickly but we were admiring all the attention to tiny detail eg a teeny blanket for a life size mouse had been hand stitched! Half way round you walk through the small, but utterly charming, outdoor garden of Mr McGregor before continuing your journey. Absolutely delightful. The cafe was very good - cheese scone & home made soup, tea, coffee & lemon drizzle cake, all made by the cook. We thought it was good value for money and a wonderful place to visit.
Arlene Harris — Google review
Great few hours of fun! Learned a lot about the world of Beatrix Potter that I never knew. Staff were very friendly and nice. Only took a star off as 2 interactive screens were broken. Otherwise great attraction especially with toddler aged kids.
Kevin McAuley — Google review
We really enjoyed it here! It is laid out really well. The characters are dotted all over the place and some are hidden away that you have to spot. The garden area is very pretty and well maintained. Although it is quite small lots of effort is put into making it look fantastic. We would definitely recommend!
Karl Venus — Google review
Such a lovely little experience! I wasn’t really sure what it included but was so surprised by the level of detail and effort! You first watch a short film about Beatrix Potter before taking a walk through essentially the world she created! It was absolutely stunning and very interesting! I also found the gift shop to be very well priced! Highly recommend for anyone who is Beatrix Potter fan, young or older 😊
Gem Leanne — Google review
Went when I was a child over 10 years ago, but it still carries the same charm and whimsy it did then! Beautiful soundtrack as you walk round, interactive screens that compliment the models and props nicely, as well as an adorable garden (it was also nicely air conditioned).
Shannon Burnside — Google review
As an adult without I absolutely enjoyed visiting this attraction. Basically it’s just a walkthrough with scenes inspired by Beatrix Potter books. It is very well made and immersive with sounds and smells. It’s not for everyone I guess but I really loved it. I was just a bit confused by why there was a Peter Rabbit character taking pictures with people outside the attraction but the staff told me you had to pay extra money or something. It was a bit awkward but other than that this attraction is really amazing and magical.
Melanie Mengüs — Google review
We had our lunch at cafe in the shop. The highlight was definitely Afternoon Tea. The teapot looked decent too. I’d suggest Picnic Basket better coming with a basket 🧺
Teki Chan — Google review
I love it here! I went for the first time when I was really small but visited again as an adult with my best friend. Gorgeous displays and a cosy atmosphere, and when we went you could take home radish seeds to plant. Very cute and a nice gift shop.
Jess — Google review
This is a wonderful place! Full of excitement and fun for people of all ages. I would highly recommend popping in to see the story of Beatrix Potter if you are nearby and looking for an hour or so of fun. There is a cafe and plenty of toilet facilities. The place caters to all walking abilities and those otherwise bound to other mobility devices. Don't forget to look at the cute badger! Although you can't buy any badger memorabilia......
FlapJack_Matt — Google review
I thought that it had a decent amount of Peter Rabbit models including Mr McGregor's garden and greenhouse. They also included a kids activity book that my daughter was very interested in. I think overall it is a great place to bring your kids for some fun.
Mark Caruso — Google review
Very good as shows parts of her life and her superb books. Great time with my friend's family.
Dark Rose — Google review
I'll be honest I've only been slightly exposed to the stories (and the films) and didn't quite know what to expect from 'the attraction'. What a delight. Life size models of the characters bringing the Potter world to life (except they don't move). You can't help but admire the effort gone into each one. Plenty of details at youngster height to entertain also.

Windermere is a large, glacial-fed lake located in the north end of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria. It's popular for its scenic views, beautiful mountain peaks and pretty villages surrounding it. It's also a great place to go swimming, boating and fishing.
Lovely views, different parts to explore and also have alittle fair for the children. Plenty of places to eat but will cost you alittle, deffinetly worth packing a picnic as there is plenty of green spaces to have a lovely picnic. We went on the boat ride which was lovely experience, plenty of boats to ride and easy to book, as well as lovely staff. Parking took us a little looking around but eventually found a spot, easy to pay through a app or by cash. Toliets you have to pay for, they do have a free on hidden within the park area.

Beautiful lake, wonderful cruise despite the rainy weather. You can take dogs on the ship, the ship's crew gave our dogs snacks. We left the car in the parking lot at the train station where we started our day.

Beautiful lake and beautiful surroundings. Such a shame about the pot holed roads and the amount of traffic though. A few buildings in desperate need of some tlc too.

Beautiful lake, the view can dissolve in the souls of seekers of nature, every fathom produces the upper ripples make the sense in the creative birth of natural phenomena when ferry moves, side by side historical buildings on the bank letting everyone why the lake is important, business and the people way of living give immense understanding of nature and it's creation.

The lake itself is a fine example of natural beauty. It's the largest lake in England, apparently. It was lovely to get on a boat and explore it. The surrounding area of the lake, particularly in Bowness-on-Windermere, leaves a little to be desired. Parking is very difficult, first finding a space, then queuing at insufficient machines that are also ancient. For me it's one of those where it's nice to visit once, but not somewhere I'd be rushing to return to.

Amazing scenery! Could rival most similar places in the World !! It is a tricky drive in a car as the roads are narrow and winding but we managed it in a motorhome and it was definitely worth it

Lovely lake with stunning scenery. You can choose a variety of boat trips to explore the lake and scenery. There are public toilets and plenty of parking located close by. There are also a variety of museums, shops, cafes and pubs.

Bowness on Windermere is lovely and lots to eat, drink and see. Would recommend The Ro Hotel as plenty parking and handy for town.

Absolutely beautiful area, locals are really nice and helpful. Weather was beautiful when i went. Really advise everyone to prebook restaurants, cafes or activities as its mobbed this time of year. Everything is in walking distance too 👍
Reiss Adams — Google review
Perfect lake scenery. What can I say to the Great Lake District? Anyway too many tourists along the harbours for boat hiring makes it somehow crowded and deducted the lakes quietness a bit in my humble opinions.
Jack Kwong — Google review
Beautiful place in Lake District, Tourist attraction and boat hire and cruise booking. We took cruise tickets and enjoyed a trip and see nearby attraction from the cruise in the lake, kids enjoy the cruise and beautiful views and capture many photos.

Such a lovely place, we have visited it on our trip to the Haven holiday park located in Lake District. Very peaceful and every single person we have meet been so friendly to us. A place well worth to go to and explore.

A direct bus route from Kendal to Windermere is available, offering passengers a scenic and aesthetically pleasing journey. The locale boasts exceptional beauty and tranquility, particularly noted during a March visit. Despite the chilly weather, the snow-clad mountains enhanced the visual experience. A brief ascent of a modest hill afforded a commendable panoramic view. Regrettably, time constraints prevented a comprehensive hike, a consideration for subsequent visits

Absolutely gorgeous views from the museum and honest pretty much anywhere that you stop around the lake. I have not visited since I was a child and really enjoyed just sitting and taking in the scenery. As with a lot of Cumbria if you visit on dry days it's stunning.

Blackwell is a Victorian neoclassical house in the Lake District designed by Baillie Scott. The house is set in wonderful grounds and contains beautiful furniture and objects from the Arts and Crafts movement. It is a popular tourist attraction, with friendly staff and beautiful displays from other collections.
An inspiring example of the arts and crafts movement. The main features of the house are well preserved and beautiful examples of late Victorian architecture. There are nods to Archibald Knox, Ruskin and Mackintosh but in itself has its own unique design philosophy. The architectural design is perfectly complemented by carefully chosen furniture from the same period. On display throughout are example of local crafts and materials. We were fortunate to join a tour of the house which added to the history and context of the house. A perfect place to visit.
Stuart Williams — Google review
A well preserved English home with some fine architecture and minimalist interior inspired from arts and craft movements. There is a tea shop on site which serves tasty cakes and other snacks.
Nikhil George — Google review
Wonderful house, a real gem. Beautiful interior designed in the Arts & Crafts tradition. The drawing room is simply stunning - a real 'wow' when you enter. If you have a list of buildings to visit in the Lake District, put this near the top!
Chris (Just Roamin') — Google review
For anyone interested in Arts & Crafts architecture and furnishings, this is a must. The house is wonderfully set out with excellent information on the A&C movement. We'll worth a visit.
Grant Jones — Google review
An absolute must for any fan of the Arts and Crafts movement. You can sit in every ingle nook and window seat, and immerse yourself in this masterpiece of Baillie Scott. You will love the great hall, and want to live there yourself! Blackwell is a fine example of a country retreat of the late Victorian / early Edwardian period. I recommend you allow 2 hours.

A wonderful Arts and Crafts style mansion, with fantastic views over Windermere to the Coniston fells. If you are at all interested in domestic architecture, this place is an absolute must to visit. Entry was easy and remarkable good value (especially when compared to similar properties); the tickets allow as many visits as you like over a 12 month period.

Wonderful art and craft house in a splendid setting overlooking windermere. Beautiful detail in all the rooms. Helpful unfussy signage. Enhanced by art exhibition and rounded off by a cafe with tasty food
Rod Lawson — Google review
I was a slightly reluctant visitor - my partner was keen, so I agreed, and I was surprisingly affected. Deeply interesting to see the Arts & Crafts ethos fully realised. Inspiring connection between good design, decoration, and wonderfully great spaces, all integrated into their place...

Lovely place to visit. Beautiful house, very peaceful grounds. Wonderful views from the large windows! Very calming atmosphere. Pleasant cafe attached, with outdoor seating if weather decent!
Bob Standard — Google review
Just brilliant. If you like Arts and Crafts design you've just got to come here. So much to see, so many fabulous rooms and furniture. We will definitely return. Lovely coffee, cakes and biscuits etc. The gift shop is not filled with the usual "tat" but good quality items all related to the building and the style.

Fascinating look into the arts and crafts movement. Interesting comparisons to be made with Hill House and the development of domestic architecture. The fenestration has kept me awake!

A beautiful arts and crafts house in the lake district for incredible value (£9 for a 12 month membership) There was a talk on that could have had more umph to get people excited about history but it was informative. There was also an additional exhibition on upstairs from a local artist that was incredible and I love that they are supporting local artists. We visited on a Monday to the cafe to find very limited vegan options but we were told that the chef was off that day and that there are normally a lot more on offer so we will return to try the food

This is one of our favourite houses to visit. The setting is fantastic and the interiors are beautiful. We have visited many times. Thank you to the staff, the front desk staff and the ladles in the tearoom were welcoming and friendly. Also good to see items on display from other collections. The bed covering from the Gawthorpe Textile Collection was very beautiful.

The Windermere Jetty Museum provides an interesting insight into the history of boats and steam on Lake Windermere. The visitor centre contains displays about the vessels that have called Windermere home, from steamboats to yachts. There are also activities for children, including a model boat workshop and a range of pirate-themed games. The museum is located on the shores of the lake, just a short walk from the town centre.
This is a really good museum for all ages, and great thought and creativity to put together an excellent "Wrecked" trail for kids. On our visit, they were running an art and craft workshop for children, which was brilliant as the 2 facilitators were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Whilst you're there take a 30 minute ride on the steamer around Windemere, and don't miss the replica Swallows and Amazons or the cafe.

If you are into the little boats then this is for you. It's good that the entrance ticket lasts a full year I may come back (just visiting the area). Left the kids at home and walked around in peace and quiet with the wife. It is plain to see that the place is taken very good care of, very nice atmosphere. Would recommend, but this isn't a thrill seekers paradise for sure!

A very interesting museum / café / shop in a really great setting overlooking the jaw-dropping Lake Windermere. I had a Coca-Cola drink and got a free parking voucher, and took some time to sit outside and take in the natural wonder that is Lake Windermere. It was not too busy during my visit and I found it to be a very modern, clean and tidy place with very helpful staff. Thank-you. :)

Wonderful museum with stories of many boats. Entry fees is £9 and with an extra £9 we can enjoy a wonderful ride in the beautiful lakes on a boat and the museum has a Cafe which serves excellent food.

A great place to visit highly recommended. Learn the history of boats and see how they bring old boats back to the waters and all the restoration process, sail on one of the oldest boats there, we sat on Osprey 120 yearly old wooden boat which had been restored an absolutely beautiful piece and the sail was such a lovely experience along the lake which we were glad we went on, the 2 gentleman take you on a 35 minute tour around the lake and talk about the boats. The staff in there were all so very friendly and welcoming. Well worth the money and time then in the end you can visit the cafe for a bite to eat outside by the lake.

We did not go to the museum, my friend lives locally so we just called in on our walk. A lovely afternoon coffee stop. Very helpful staff. It was a hot day and I asked if they did iced coffee, it wasn’t on the board so I wasn’t especially hopeful. But the barista offered, saying although it wouldn’t be frothy on top he could oblige. So I had a caramel iced coffee which was just the job. We visited around 3.45pm on a June Wednesday…not busy and it was a spectacular view from our table.

Absolutely fantastic time visiting the Jetty Museum. We came mainly to see the Lego Lake District display (which was awesome) but we found the whole museum very interesting indeed! The staff were all super friendly and made us laugh with the Lego MiniFig hunt - great fun!
Dan Crowe — Google review
What an absolute gem! We visited with 7 year olds and oldies. Everyone had a great time. The newish building combines the original character and charm of a lakes boathouse with the convenience and slickness of a modern 'grand designs' build. We had a super welcome from Elaine, who took some time round explain what was happening and where to explore. The kids had a brilliant time hunting for painted 'Easter Eggs' and matching them to birds egg patterns on their trail book. They also spent more than an hour at the 'Build your own boat' workshop, making amazing vessels from cardboard and plastic screws. I was introduced to the 'Makedo' child safe tools and equipment which allowed our kids to chop, perforate and screw together cardboard to make their junk modelling dreams a reality. The cafe served some wonderful food (although it did seem a little pricey) and eating it with a lakeside view was a proper treat. We enjoyed looking at all of the World record breaking boats and beautifully restored exhibits telling the story of life on the water of Windermere through the last 200 years. We were also lucky enough to time our visit with the Windermere Model Boat Club, and for a small donation they were kind enough to let us try out one of their models on the small boating pond. Parking was free for 4 hours via a parking code inputted to the machine on leaving, although we needed more time so they kindly extended our time. A wonderful museum with great activities for the children over the Easter holidays! Highly recommended!

I was planning a trip to the lakes and was looking for something boat like to visit…and I came across this! Having looked at their website, I was a bit unsure however after looking at reviews, was sold!! Arrived mid week just after they opened at 10, plenty of parking which is free if visiting the museum. Bought 2 tickets for the museum and a boat trip on Penelope - a small wooden diesel beautiful intimate boat totalled for two adults came to £38. The boat trip was at 10.30, just ourselves and another visitor and two crew, felt like a personal tour of some of the lake…..great information, tales and snippets were enthusiastically given. All questions answered and blankets on bots if a little chilly. The boat restoration hut gave a super talk and we toured the museum, opening drawers, asking more questions and watching films. We finished with some sustenance in the cafe which is clearly well supported and enjoyed by locals. If you like boats, steam engines or history this is a great place to while away a few hours!

A thoroughly enjoyable experience. There are so many things to do and enjoy. Booking in advance is a great idea to make sure you make the most of your time. Good for family with kids due to nice playground with clean toilet within the outdoor playground. Many sitting areas for the parent or picnic. No entrance fees, just small fees for the parking. Short nature walk along the coastal, and water sports available before 5 pm. I arrived in the late evening around closing time (5:30 pm), very peaceful. The gate will be closed by 7 pm, and reopened by next day morning.

Great place for a family visit and lots and lots of fun activities to do. Couldn't do the zip wire as fully booked but were spaces for the tree net/trampoline for the kids. Book in advance if you can and would like to do activities. We arrived by boat but you can also drive there. There is hot food like fish and chips, charcoal bbq and a cafe for sandwiches and ice cream. Great place to visit👌

This is the venue for the great north swim and it is very beautiful. The house and gardens are particularly well kept and held lots of inspiration for me as an inspiring gardener. We got there via public transport from Windermere. The car park on broad Street has an early bird special. If you get there between 8-9am you can park there for the day for £1.

This is one of the most beautiful places I ever been in the UK! I didn’t get inside the castle, but the garden! the view over the lake! and the tremendous amount of activities in this greenery is just amazing!!! The stuff were very nice too. I had my father with me who’s 80 and his walking ability is limited. The nice stuff offered a free electric buggy for him to go around and he absolutely loved it ❤️ It’s place for the family for all ages to enjoy! If you ever come to the lakes this place is a MUST.

Beautiful place. You can park and pay. We went down to the cruise, and it wasn't far. On the way, we saw a cafe/gift shop and also zipline (tree top) and a play area. We got our tickets and the boat came. We got on it and went around windermere. They give lots of info on board. It stops at each stop. The views were breathtaking. Really enjoyed this adventure.

Shame to have to pay for (min 2 hours parking) when there's not much to look at/do at this time of year. Some nice things in the visitor centre/shop and lovely art in the gallery too. Definitely worth a try in the summer. Shame there are no vegan options in the restaurant/cafe. 😮

This is a great day out for the family from grandchild to grandparent. There are plenty of activities - archery, laser clay pigeon, Lake cruises, tree top ropes, zip line, just to name a few. Or if you wish you can have a quiet stroll through the gardens down to Lake Windermere followed by a cappuccino and cake. If you want to spoil yourself take a spot of lunch on the cafe terrace. The hot sarnies are delicious.

Fabulous place to visit for all ages! From tranquil garden to adrenaline rush of zip line there's something for everyone. You can even take a trip up the lake to Ambleside or across to Wray Castle on a cruise boat. Great adventure play park with toilet and picnic beaches. Tree top nets are an amazing way to spend a few hours to great rid of that extra energy. Boat hire from kayaks, paddleboards, rowboat, canoes and motors boats Krazy karate, Archery, Laser Clay Shooting, brave the cave, woodland faerie trail, mini golf, mini tractors and treetop trek. Lots of choice of places to eat or even bring your own picnic.

Nice garden and view over lake, visitor centre and cafe were closing at 5.30 what feels a bit early for summer. I assume that a lot of people just like us are trying to get most of their time in Lake District and would like to enjoy cup of tea or buy some presents from gift shop after 5pm. Garden gates are closing at 7 pm, so we could have a much more relaxed time and spent some money there as well instead of quick walk around garden.

We've been on holiday in the lakes for 2 weeks and spent 2 different days here, the park is great. Our girls did the treetop nets and loved it, we had 2 hours or time out while they were safe in the nets too which was a real treat 😁 the place is well kept, the cafe is over priced, the lake activities well priced. This is an amazing place for the kids. So much to do we had to split it all out over three days. Some would say the activities are a little expensive but I saved up for this holiday with the intention of taking the children on multiple activities so wasn't much of a shock when I needed to pay the cost. Also in my opinion the price reflects the experience and equipment used, there's no where near me that even comes close to this place as a whole. I would take your own food and drinks. There's no rules specifically about that unless your in a venue. The grounds themselves are amazing and plenty to look at. There's plenty to do for free if you can't afford or interested in doing premium experiences and that includes one of the best adventure playgrounds I have seen, and yes it's free for all.

A beautiful visitor centre and garden that I was not even aware existed until recently! Admission is free. Lake steamers stop here, so you can arrive by boat and stay here all day. If you arrive by car, there's a pay and display car park (£8.50 for an all-day visit). I came here with a small coach party to do the Heritage Garden Tour, which lasted about an hour. Our guide Kevin was both friendly and knowledgeable, and he shared some interesting facts about the house, garden, and family who once lived here. Some magnificent trees and flowering shrubs, including a magnolia in full bloom that was planted around 1900. Gorgeous views down to the lake. Be aware that this is a terraced garden, and there are steps that can be a bit slippy after rain. After our tour, we enjoyed a cream tea in a cosy café with lake views. The scone, with jam and cream, was huge and very fresh. There are clean toilets next to the café, a gallery with dioramas of Cumbrian wildlife and habitats, and a beautiful gift shop. This is a fantastic place for families and children. There's a treetop walk and zip wire near the entrance, an adventure playground, and little tractors for small children to ride on. There's also a good variety of outdoor activities, including archery, mini golf, laser clay shooting, and bikes and kayaks for hire. Dogs are welcome both in the grounds and the café. I enjoyed my visit, but it was all too brief! Would love to return in the summer to explore the woodland and lakeside walks.

Wonderful day out, they pulled out all the stops to make it special for families. Halloween decorations and experiences were superb if not a wee bit scary (haunted forest). Chris the magician and professor pumpernickel were excellent! £96.00 might seem expensive, but for a family of 4 who expected to stay 4 hours but actually stayed 8 hours and could of stayed longer, well, well worth it. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Good trip out, been a number of times before and the activities are the same with the addition of axe throwing. Always best to check online and book in advance . Best advice I can give is eat before you arrive or take your own. It is expensive to eat and drink here, hotdogs £9.50 child's burger £6 a plain coffee £3. This makes it a costly day out . They also no longer have toilets near the play area and tree top nets so if you have children it's a walk to the bathrooms at the house.

Really quiet when we were there,so no issues in parking. Looks a great place for children with zip lines, clay pigeon shooting, archery and of course the lake activities. These all need booking beforehand. We walked all the paths and enjoyed the surroundings. Parking cost was £3 for 2 hours,so not bad really. Overall recommend.

Brockhole on Windermere is a wonderful place for children and grown ups. Pre-book the trees and zip wire, head up to the house for some really great food. Lots to do and discover.

We called here briefly for a stretch of the legs and to see the sunset. Parking cost us £3 for 2 hours on Ringo. I'd definitely like to return here to see it properly in the future. We had a walk through the woodland and to the lakeside. There's loads of a actvities here, massive grounds and a house. There's a Beatrix Potter trail I'd like to do and a bird hide I'd like to visit. Activities cost extra but the ground are free to wander round. Plenty of maps are dotted about in the grounds.

Restaurant
The Magic Roundabout is a quirky restaurant with excellent pub grub in a quirky setting. It's ideal for those looking for something different and the food is really good, too.
We pre-booked a table of 12 for a special birthday and what a night it was! The staff are absolutely amazing and made us feel so at home and welcomed. The food arrived quickly and all hot and fresh for such a large group. The portions are very generous for the prices. We ended up coming back again for lunch the following day as it was very hard to get a large table. They were shut upstairs but offered to open for us. Shame we didn’t get the name of the main waiter but he was a true gent and is an asset! We will be back and have recommended others already.

Really enjoyed our meal. The nacho starter is more than enough to share, really big portions! Reasonably priced too for the amount of food you get. Staff were very friendly and approachable. We didn’t order cocktails but the ones we saw on other tables looked good too.
Marie Lloyd — Google review
Lovely place to eat the menu was new on the night and had a lot of variety with a fairly priced. Although it was busy we were served quickly and food came out in good time
D M — Google review
The food here is lovely. They have. A large selection of dishes across breakfast, lunch and dinner. The portion sizes are some of the largest I have ever seen, the pictures on Instagram and internet don’t do the food justice. Great selection of drinks and spirits. It’s a small restaurant that is in need of a spruce up and the toilets do let them down ever so slightly. The staff are amazing and so helpful and great with families. We were a large group and they did the best to accommodate and were wonderful.
Lee Langford — Google review
Went there for my girlfriend birthday and after booking a couple of weeks in advance we were greeted with the news that 3/4 of the menu wasn't available due to unforeseen circumstances. Now I totally understand these things can't be helped as I use to manage a restaurant and have had the same issue. However contacting bookings and informing them of this issue needs to be top priority. Anyway as we were being told this the issue was resolved and the full menu was back on. I must say I would highly recommend this place as the food was cooked perfectly. The burger was perfect and the hanging beef kabab was beautiful. Meat cooked brilliantly. The portion sizes are huge and filling. Expensive but worth every penny.

Simply amazing breakfast! Wonderfully poached eggs, soft fresh bread, quality sausages and maple bacon was delicious. Seems to be the only breakfast place open before 10am so was very busy around 9am. Short wait but 100% worth it!
Asa — Google review
Great little place, they do also have an upstairs area. We had a small breakfast (light) and that was enough(so nice we went back again the next day) , you could add extra to it if you wanted, or they have other options on breakfast size. We had a meal there also, I had the lamb Henry and my husband had the goulash we both really enjoyed it. I'd recommend booking a table for a meal as they do get busy. Staff are friendly, and make you feel welcome. Great service. We would definitely recommend going here.

Got to say not as good was when we last came and sadly that was 3 years ago. Maybe I had my hopes up. Like warm reception. Ordered drinks and only received half what we ordered luckly we hadn't been charged so guess it didn't matter. But made us feel not wanted. The food was delicious but very very overpriced. Sad to say I won't be going again 😕. But thank.you for having us.
Deborah Maynard — Google review
We sat down and it took a bit of time for the waiters to even notice us. The owner seemed attentive, however the staff didn't. The food as well was in general disappointing, I got Poached eggs with salmon and even though they were quite generous with the salmon, the bread seemed literally the lowest quality which brought the meal down. Also it is quite pricey for what it is really. My partner got a "stack of pancakes" for 12 pound... And if you see the picture attached I don't think we can consider that a stack as the pancakes were quite small and there was quite literally 3.... Overall wouldn't repeat

The decor and atmosphere is lovely, however the food was even better! I had the all day breakfast bap and it’s not only very generous in terms portion size, but was delicious. Easily one of the best breakfast baps I’ve come across at a cafe. Highly recommended!

The Magic Roundabout restaurant, nestled in the charming town of Bowness-on-Windermere in England, is a delightful culinary haven. By day, it transforms into a cozy cafe and coffee shop, serving up scrumptious breakfasts and lunches. As the sun sets, it metamorphoses into an enchanting restaurant and gin bar, where delectable dinners await. The menu boasts a variety of options, including vegetarian and vegan delights like the smoked tofu, falafel burger, and vegan burger. With its warm ambiance, friendly service, and mouthwatering fare, the Magic Roundabout is a must-visit for food enthusiasts and gin aficionados alike.

We’ve really liked the building and the location so we had a look. We ended up getting the Mexican board with a white mocha and a pint of Pepsi. The white mocha was very nice on its own. It reminded me of what I used to drink at college. I highly recommend it if you haven’t tried it and like sweet drinks. The Mexican board had very good tacos 🌮 and nicely seasoned corn 🌽 The price was about right for the food and for the location. The only letdown for me were nachos. I think the cook must have accidentally put the avocado pot with the avocado flesh into the guacamole & personally, I prefer cheese sauce in nachos instead of just melted cheese. That’s more of a preference though. My partner had thoroughly enjoyed it though. 🌱There were also verrry few vegan/vegetarian options

Truly outstanding! 5 stars really isn’t enough for this place! Great location, beautiful quirky interior, amazing food! As a self proclaimed fry up connoisseur, this place takes first place, genuinely the best fry up I’ve ever had. Every single ingredient was high quality, cooked perfectly and well presented. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the food they serve, even down to the butter, the individually wrapped butter portions were that good, I actually went home and bought some directly from Netherend Farm, not even joking. My girlfriend boringly had a sausage sandwich, look at the photo I’ve uploaded, the bread is thicker than the table, proper bread! Soft and tasty too! Tried the gammon during in our visit too, again, gorgeous! Great menu, loads of drinks choices, awesome staff, will be returning!

Pub
The Flying Pig Pub is a warm and welcoming pub in Windermere that serves up hearty dishes like fish and chips as well as local ales. Dogs are welcome here, making it another paw-some spot to warm up and refuel. The pub has contemporary interior with wood burners and some lovely quirky features, making it the perfect spot for a family meal or drinks with friends.
Lovely setting. Dog friendly, but clean. The food was absolutely beautiful. We only popped in for a quick lunch but were very pleasantly surprised. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend try the food here. It was so good. And good value for money

Fantastic pub, drinks and food. The service was outstanding from a male (unfortunately didn't catch his name) with ginger hair, he was brilliant We had the mussels, sharing platter, fish pie and gluten free chicken and could not fault ANY of it. Would highly recommend and will absolutely be going back. And very very dog friendly which was lovely

Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve eaten in my life - thank you chef! The Cumbrian sausage is super tasty & plentiful. Loved the local beer of the day choices on draft. Staff is Super fun & efficient. Atmosphere & music were exceptional.

Stumbled upon this on a walk from our hotel and the traditional pub caught our eye. Looking at the menu most options are traditional pub food which was appealing. I went for the scotch egg to start which was pretty good, not too dense and the sausage meat was not over seasoned. Portion size was pretty large so be prepared. Mains I had the pie of the day which was chicken, ham and leek. You can tell these were handmade the pastry was buttery and light and the filling was jam packed with chicken. Lovely! Portions although looked small on the plate were really filling and I would just opt for a main and then go for a dessert if not full. Service was decent no complaints there at all. We went for the house Merlot (a Chilean) which was really lovely and smooth, too easy to drink. If you looking for home cooking and a full tummy this is the place! Added to this review as we came back for the Sunday roast and it was gorgeous- highly recommend. If I was to make any criticism it would be to have some more greens :) Go early if you want to cauliflower cheese it was sold out when got there :(

Wonderful place in the heart of Windermere, just a couple of minutes walk from the mere itself! I've been a few times in the past and haven't got a bad word to say about it! It's a traditional style pub with modern facilities, a lovely fire in the corner and it's dog friendly! The staff are brilliance and naturally friendly, willing to help and have a chat The food is absolutely brilliant with something for everyone, they have lunch and mains, sides and smaller bites, loads of vegan and vegetarian options aswell! Loads of good local beer and ale but they also do teas and coffee! You would be happy with a flying visit and a pint after a walk, a simple coffee in the afternoon relaxing or a delicious evening meal! Can't beat it, I'd 100% recommend the Flying pig!

Lovely pub good beers we ate here twice had a beautiful fish and chips the first time and it was excellent! The 2nd time we ate here we went for the mussels as they looked so nice seeing them been served to others! BUT they were the most tasteless mussels i have ever eaten absolutely no flavour at all like he cooked them in a pint of milk!! Maybe they should send the chef back to cookery school and teach him how to cook mussels or just stick with cooking fish and chips!!

A traditional style pub, with a modern twist to its menu, located in the heart of Windermere. Staff is absolutely wonderful and will welcome you with a big smile and warm hospitality. We loved the selection of beers, especially since they have Corona & Erdinger on tap amongst many other. Food is delicious, and the portion sizes are hearty. Prawn and hummus are a must-have. The food is absolutely brilliant with something for everyone. They have lunch and mains, sides and smaller bites, loads of vegan and vegetarian options as well! We spent the entire afternoon there, as the vibe of the place is excellent.

Great beer garden which does draw you in, as its all decked with flowers. Sat inside, got a table in 5 mins. They have a few different beers but not a huge array, they were kind enough to bring a small taster of the specials. Great looking menu of big meals and sandwiches, you better be hungry as portions are decent. Got a great pulled chicken salad with honey mustard dressing switched out, it was great. Ploughman's was everything you'd want in a ploughman's lunch. Definitely worth a visit. Dog friendly if that's your thing. Staff very nice.

What can I say never in my life have I had a burger like that ever incredible flavour and the ginger lad that served us was great. Also the lovely bar maid I enjoyed some banter with and was very welcoming didn't catch her name unfortunately. Good, home style food. We had roast chicken and Cumberland sausage, plus brownies for dessert. Even with a big group in, we got a table quickly and our food came out quickly. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. We were a bit sad that there was no Scotch egg on the menu any more, but only because, as Australians, we still haven't tried one - the rest of the country are probably sick of them.

The food was great and some of the staff was nice, but some other could have had a better mood/customer service skills. Also disappointing when we walked past in the morning and asked to make a table reservation and they said they don’t take bookings. Then when we went in there were 2 tables reserved, lol

Great little place that’s very cosy and warm. Deco was on point makes you feel like your in the 18th century place , was also nice that they use log burner . On to the food. Food are just on point! Very fresh tomatoes soup and sourdough bread to go with with, if it’s was only thicker it would of been pasta sauce! 10/10! Fish and chip - ah pub classic! You can’t go wrong and this place elevates that by home made beer batter fish along with house coleslaw to go with it . Chip was also excellent. I’m sure what whatever you’ll order it would be great. Give this place a go and please let me know what you think :) Thanks for reading .

Walked into Windermere town from our Motorhome, after a mooch around the shops with 3 kids and dog in tow it was lovely to sit down and relax. We had to wait half an hour for food as we’d gotten there earlier but nothing a nice cappuccino didn’t fix. Booth in the window was perfect for the kids, colouring sheets were provided to keep them busy. Food was lovely, service was great and quick. Couldn’t ask for more to be honest. Will definitely be back!

After a long hike my partner and I were looking for a classic pub comfort dinner. We arrived to this pub and ordered the beef burger and the pie of the day (which was beef and mushrooms). Both dishes were absolutely packed of flavour. Also last but not least we ordered a scotch egg to share which as well, was very tasty. Deffinitely will go back!

Porto is a stylish and modern British restaurant that offers fixed price deals. It also has a heated roof terrace perfect for summer evenings.
Delicious Sunday meal here and what great value: 2 courses for £18! The beef brisket roast was perfect and platings were beautiful. I’d highly recommend. Booking well in advance for normal dinner suggested but we managed to book Sunday lunch the day before fine.

We had dinner at Porto restaurant yesterday evening and had a wonderful experience. Everything from the starters through to the deserts tasted amazing. The food was put together in a way where the flavours complimented each other perfectly. I fully recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fine dinning at its best.

Lovely food, better than the menu suggested in my opinion. The main dishes were great, as were the starters. The only minor was the service was a little slow even though there were lots of staff. I asked for water twice and it did not come. I would definitely recommend this place.
Jedtravels — Google review
We came here at 5 for the early dinner menu, after reading all the good reviews. Love that they let us have the monk fish which is on the set menu but not the a la carte menu. Food was average, pigeon breast was a bit overcooked, the seasonal vegetables were cooked in white wine - not quite sure the rationale behind this. The service was not what we expected. We had to ask for sharing plates, the used cutleries for starters were not taken, we were being finger pointed by another waitress.. It was not a pleasant eating experience for us.
Suki Leung — Google review
Cosy place for having an exceptional meal, I highly recommend their wild mushroom risotto (tho I didn't photo it), it's rich but not overwhelming, I guess it's because the base sauce was made of spinach so it balanced its creamy taste. I had my bass fillet, it was really amazing as well. I didn't expect this bistro to be this good, but we indeed had a good time

Fantastic restaurant. Great service from the second we walked in, a nice atmosphere and loved the music they had playing! The food looked fantastic and tasted delicious. Nearly everything on the menu was able to be gluten free too. Whilst it is slightly more expensive than your average restaurant, I would definitely say it is worth the money. Highly recommended!

Great experience here. The food was 5 out of 5. Different and contemporary food, the meat was tender and juicy, food presentation was worth what I paid for. The choice of sauce was unique yet tasty. Service 5 out of 5. Very attentive and professional servers I was early for my appointment but they accommodate us without much fuss. Atmosphere was nice and airy, they didn't try to squeeze you in so there is plenty of spaces around you which is nice. Online booking is a huge bonus.

One of Bowness Wharf's leading restaurants, offering some of the best ingredients and flavours in the UK, is here, PORTO . The recommendation is to line up before the restaurant opens at 5am. The Early Bird Menu is a budget menu from 5am to 6am! This is a huge portion for only £22! The beautiful female staff were friendly and great. Good choice of wines by the glass.

Well presented all plates, very beautiful We had a lovely dinner. We lived in France for 12 years. This restaurant is the same class as we have in France. Love the chicken Caesar salad. I ordered sea bass, my friends had steak, lamb, and risotto. All were delicious. The only drawback was kids menu’s meat ball; too salty.

It was our last night and we ventured out for dinner. We didn't book anywhere and that was a bit of a mistake. If you are staying in Windermere and eating local book somewhere as it gets busy. We chanced it at the Porto and luckily got a table. We went up on the terrace which was nice to be outside because the weather has been beautiful. My wife had the beef medallions and I had the lamb shank. Both meals were beautifully presented and and faultless. Lovely little restaurant and our food was lovely and reasonable priced

Siam Cafe Windermere is an excellent and authentic Thai restaurant that serves up delicious food in a cozy, intimate setting. The menu features curries, chicken satay and pad thai, all of which are perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. In addition to its great food, Siam Cafe Windermere offers highchairs and wheelchair access, as well as free wifi and a full bar.
On visiting the area my partner suggested we eat here. I checked out the menu and found plenty to choose from, even for me as a vegetarian. From the moment we walked through the door to the moment we paid. We were made most welcome. The food was clearly freshly cooked, but arrived very promptly. The portion sizes were enough to feel full, but not uncomfortably stuffed. The tastes were authentic and the food presented was beautiful. The staff were attentive but not pushy. A very pleasant visit to this gorgeously colourful decorated restaurant. It was my partners birthday and I very subtly mentioned it on arrival. Then when dessert came, without request, candles arrived on the banana fritter desert and the whole restaurant burst into a happy birthday song. Thank you so much for a great experience, one I'd love to repeat when I return.

Food was okay but the papaya salad wasn’t giving me much flavour. The fried veg tempura was pretty soggy and green curry was alright. Overall the food really took the star rating down here. The staff are absolutely lovely but were worked to the bone. Please consider bringing more staff on board as 3-4 people is simply not enough for a fully booked, two floor restaurant. It’s not fair on those working there or customers.

Absolutely delicious food. Authentic Thai food. Everything look clean and hygienic. We didn’t have to wait for long time after placing order. Service is excellent; waitresses are very polite and accommodating and efficient. Quite popular restaurant so that it is very just at dinner time 18:00 to 19:00. Atmosphere is very good with the view to mountain when dinning in upstairs. It is a must go place if you like Thai food.

We went on a very busy Tuesday evening and even though we just turned up they had a table for us. We went with our dog and was able to sit outside and even though it was mid October I was pleasantly surprised with how warm it was with the heated lamps. The food was incredible, the service and bang on and the waitors and waitresses were extremely friendly. I never thought we would be able to enjoy a stunning Thai meal with a dog but they made it happen. Definitely recommend! 👍

In search of thai food in windermere we planned to try it out in House of Siam. We were flabbergasted with the ambience and feel, it has such tropical vibe, made us think the food would be amazing. On the contrary the food was not that good and wasn’t authentic thai tbh. We ordered green and masaman curry along with jasmine rice. I was utterly disappointed with the veg masaman and their chicken wings have a weird smell which took away the pleasure of eating food. There are only two items which we liked the most their mushroom hot n sour soup and fried noodles, these two were amazing. If you around windermere and planning to have some thai you can totally ignore this one as it is quiet expensive too but if you just want to have some singha beer and enjoy the vibe this could be place for you.

An extremely popular Thai food place in Windermere. I was not necessarily planning on eating Thai food, but I walked by hear from my hotel on the way to the lakes and I founded bustling with people of all backgrounds and nationalities passionately devouring the food. Thus, I thought it would be delicious, and it was. I'm not sure where I would rank it among the places with the best Thai food I have eaten, but the service was generous and thoughtful, and the food, steaming and hot, came quickly. If you are in Windermere and you are at all interested in Thai cuisine, I recommend coming here, but be warned that if you arrive at a popular time (say, from 6 or so to 8), it might be difficult to find a table.

We got the vegetarian set meal (£22.95 each). The starter was enormous and whilst tasty, was a lot of deep fried items. And what seemed to be a hash brown on there! The Thai green curry was lovely, as was the veggie pad Thai. It came with a side of vegetables and cashews and broccoli in soy sauce. Bill came to £60 with a coke and gin/tonic added on too. And a 10% service charge

Just went in on the spur of the moment . We always like to try the Thai restaurant where ever we go. The staff were very friendly, service was great. I had the seafood stir fry with jasmine rice. Throughly enjoyed it. You could pick out all of the flavours, ginger came through, could have done with a bit more heat from the chilli and a little less garlic, however,on the whole cooked very well. Vegetables were still nice and crunchy. Muscles were easy to get out of the shells and the rest of the sea food was firm but not over cooked. My partner had Chicken Curry which she said was amazing. Not as authentic as some Thai restaurant we have been to, however,it is a bit more touristy.Would go back again.

The House of Siam, nestled in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, offers an extraordinary Thai dining experience. With its authentic Thai surroundings, this restaurant serves a delightful selection of Thai cuisine. Notably, their grilled Cumbrian sausage with green curry sauce is a signature dish that tantalizes taste buds. Whether you dine indoors or alfresco in their heated outdoor area, the House of Siam promises an unforgettable culinary journey. The interior is well decorated, people are friendly and the food are super tasty. Highly recommend.

The ambience and decoration was great. Great service. The food was sweetish, as expected with Thai cuisine. However I felt like I should eat something spicy after a meal. PS this could be personal experience being an Indian

The food is a disgrace. Firstly, it's not even close to authentic thai, it's a pastiche of suburban Chinese takeaway level food. Secondly, the meat I was served was not fit for human consumption. The ribs were awful quality. And the chicken wing was inedible. Even the soup (supposedly spicy) was a bland disappointment. At least the staff were nice.

Missed the lunchtime rush, so we didn't have a reservation. The interior had a distinct exotic vibe, and both the kitchen and staff were Thai. The service was quite attentive and friendly. We ordered the Tom Yum soup and seafood platter for two, and the flavors were incredibly authentic. Highly recommend the big prawn fried rice and sea bass in red curry. The seafood was fresh, and the taste was unlike typical British cuisine. A Thai restaurant we really enjoyed and highly recommend.

Best GREEN CURRY I’VE EVER TASTED IN THE UK. Every time I travel around, I always look for asian restaurants to feed the asian in me. And to my surprise this restaurant actually has the best curry I’ve ever tasted in the UK. It’s so rich and perfectly balanced—even the spiciness level is perfect for my tongue. Will be coming back whenever I visit again. Thanks so much!

Enjoyed our meal tonight. Best part was the prawn pad thai noodles. Had the sharing starter, jungle curry, jasmine rice and massaman curry as well. Just be careful if you are driving as we asked for non alcoholic beer and a singha. The peroni came in a pint glass and we queried. Turned out not to be the non alcoholic version although they promptly came with a bottle of non alcoholic peroni upon us querying

Boardwalk Bar and Grill is a Relaxed lakeside establishment with breath-taking views of Lake Windermere. Offering freshly made food in an inviting and relaxed atmosphere, the bar & grill is perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. With helpful staffs and a diverse menu, Boardwalk Bar and Grill is a must-visit when in Windermere.
The view you would have while dining here is topknot. The menu is very diverse with recommendations for each day, portion is a bit big for one person, but I would say quality and price go together. Staffs were amazing, helpful and fast with all of our needs. Would totally give it another visit when I come back to Windermere.

I cannot speak highly enough about the drinks, food and service here. We were recommended this place by a local cab driver and it did not disappoint. The portions of food were amazing, definitely leaving you full bellied and possibly in a good coma after the delicious food. The pulled pork is exceptional by the way. On our last day in the lakes and they went above and beyond to make me a dairy free Oreo milkshake too. For coffees/tea they already have a great selection of dairy alternatives.

Had dinner here on the last night of our Lake District holiday. Food was excellent, good steaks, loaded fries, and some different starters. Staff were friendly and attentive, food was delivered quickly. Sat on the terrace outside in the sun. views over the lake fantastic. Not cheap but worth it. Was very busy, glad we made a reservation. This is strongly recommended.

Nice restaurant in a stunning location. The food was very tasty, though the Philly Cheesesteak was not traditional, it was certainly inspired by it - I knew this when I ordered, just mentioning it here to not be disappointed, and it was still very tasty. The stuffed aubergine my wife had and the fried cauliflower appetizer were both very good and tasty.

We went here to celebrate our honeymoon and getting married recently. The service was incredible. Everyone was very attentive and seemed like they were genuinely pleased to have us dining there. The food was honestly second to none. We had the huge sharing steak, which was cooked to perfection. Everything about our evening was amazing. We definitely recommend anyone that is in the area to go try it out. Even on a stormy day the veiw from the second floor is outstanding. We will definitely be visiting again. I would give more stars if I could!

We’ve just got back from a lovely evening at the Boardwalk (table 54) We’re in the lakes for 1 night with our 2 girls and this was the best place to eat when searching on trip advisor, and, it did not disappoint. We hadn’t booked in advance, but we managed to get a walk in table upstairs on the terrace, these tables aren’t covered or heated but we cant complain, we weren’t cold, it wasn’t even breezy, we were really lucky with the weather. The food was amazing, both I, and my husband love a good steak and for it to be cooked just as we like it (me - rare, my husband - medium rare), and they were both cooked to absolute perfection. Our girls, 7 & 3 both had the cheeseburger, and we were able to change the waffle fries to house fries without any fuss. We had the cheesecake & sticky toffee pud for desert, both delicious 👌🏼, I personally thought the sticky toffee pud was just a tad too dense, but that’s just personal preference and I still finished every last bite. I need to give a special mention to Chubby, he looked after us throughout the night, such a friendly, bubbly guy and brilliant with our 2 girls, especially our 3 year old, super attentive and engaging with them and us, and it made our evening that little bit more special and fun. The reviews speak for themselves so we had high hopes for a good meal, but receiving amazing service just makes your experience that whole lot better - so thank you, the perfect choice to eat and I would highly recommend to everyone if you’re choosing to dine by the lake.

Very elegant and tastefully decorated establishment. Lovely welcoming Christmas atmosphere and super friendly efficient staff, the service was quick & impeccable. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty, this restaurant would definitely suit a range of customers, best suited to families as there’s something for everyone, including a vegan burger and vegan cheese. What could have made our visit better? Honestly our visit was great and we couldn’t knock it. If we were to make a slight adjustment, we would have added pickles or fresh red onion and a bit of extra salad in the burgers as it was slightly lacking against those scrumptiously beasty burgers. Other than that everything was very tasty and cooked well.

Everything was very good from the meet and greet to the location and food. All of the waiting on staff were very nice and nothing was too much trouble we would definitely go again when visiting. We had fish and chips (superb) and surf turf (very good) + an ice cream sundae to share.

We was seated quickly by a lovely young man and was introduced to the girls who would be serving us. The view from our table of the lake was surreal! Food was fantastic and worth every penny. The girls upstairs were so friendly and polite! We definitely left a tip! Great things we noticed during our stay: • Dog friendly. • Good selection of meals & drinks. • Lovely decor and atmosphere. • Clean toilets. 10/10. Highly recommended!

We arrived much earlier than we'd booked but without fuss Jamie found us a table on the first floor with a fabulous view of the lake. We were very well looked after by the lovely bar & waiting team. The food was absolutely delicious and will definitely be returning to this restaurant with one of the mist gorgeous views in the lake district.

Every dishes were really really good. I ordered the salmon salad just because I want to have some veg plate but it was beyond my expectation. Salmon teriyaki was cooked so well, I never saw it like this anywhere.

Very friendly staff, amazing view, lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious and 100% worth prices. Drinks and cocktails were great, I was even given a free cocktail since it was my birthday. Next time I’m in Windermere I will be back!

This place is just spot on - Great location, great staff, great menu which delivers on everything it promises, and it won't break the bank like some other establishments in and around Lake Windermere. I honestly couldn't choose from at least 3 items on the menu, in the end settling on the more American Diner element of the menu and going with a pulled pork hot dog, upgraded with Parmesan and Truffle Fries. My wife had the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, followed by the "Boardwalk Dessert Burger" - A great little idea and certainly a sweet tooths delight! Honestly, just visit this place if you're in Bowness, you won't be disappointed
