Tapas bar
Spanish restaurant
The dining experience at La Barca Spanish Tapas & Wine Bar is exceptional. The food is superb, with a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from. The restaurant suggests ordering three plates per person, but you could easily indulge in four or even five due to the tantalizing flavors. For a reasonable price of 69, you can enjoy eight delectable plates, two cocktails, one pint, and an orange juice with Lemonade.
Great food, good value, friendly professional staff 👌

The steak was incredible and the sauce complemented it perfectly, I loved the crust on the steak. It might be one of the best steaks I've ever had. The lamb and potato casserole was good. The king prawn in a garlic and chilli olive oil infusion was ok but I felt like it was lacking in quantity. The oil was tasty though. I regret not getting bread to dip into it. Overall I really enjoyed this place. I paid around £30.

Lovely restaurant, lovely attentive staff and delicious food. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back

Very good food! Highly recommend the monkfish dish. It was nice that they had tapas sized paella rather than having to order such a big one like many other places offer. It was the perfect size! Nice location, too.

Fantastic authentic Tapas in a perfect setting with lovely views of the Clyde ( on a sunny day... It is Helensburgh after all ). Had a great meal and the service was absolutely second to none. A classy wee place. Can't wait to return.

Great food in a nice clean spacious restaurant, food and service was quick and friendly. We had 6 tapas and a starter of olives and rustic olive bread, all was very tasty. Definitely worth a visit, they also have 2 other sister restaurants a pizza one and steak and seafood.

A very warm welcome awaited us here. Staff are so friendly and efficient. Menu is superb, with so much to choose from....kinda hard to make your mind up sometimes!! Food was served promptly and beautifully cooked. Would really recommend 👍

Fantastic tapas with a great variety. Attended as a group of 12, decided to order 18 random dishes per 6 to give 3 per person but a taster of all. Great decision and every single dish was fantastic. Service was excellent also. Highly recommend.

Food was fantastic. The restaurant recommends 3 plates each but we went for 4 and could have easily had 5 as the food was so tasty. 8 plates, 2 cocktails, 1 pint and an orange juice with Lemonade and only cost £69. Great view across the clyde if you get a window seat( we did). We will certainly be back for more😋

Indian takeaway
Annaya's Indian - Helensburgh is an exceptional eatery located on West Princes St, just a short stroll from the waterfront. It offers a wide-ranging menu that can be customized according to your preferences. Their Patia Sauce perfectly complements the delectable Tandoori Lamb Tikka. Instead of the usual sweet nan, I opted for their delicious cheese Paratha, which did not disappoint. The service is top-notch, and you are warmly welcomed upon arrival.
This place was an accidental find but what a find! The staff were wonderful and the food absolutely delicious! We both ate from the specials and we were blown away! Well worth the trip and we will definitely be returning. 100% recommend 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

This is a very excellent restaurant on West Princes St. Helensburgh a few minutes walk from the waterfront. Everything is just right. The menu is extensive but any changes you wish to make will be accommodated.I love their Patia Sauce to accompany the best Tandoori Lamb Tikka i have tasted. Tonight i abandoned my usual sweet nan in favour of cheese Paratha which was also excellent. Service and a friendly greeting are second to none here. A fabulous cornucopia of spicy delights.Huge portions, what you don't eat will be packed up for you to take home on request.I Thoroughly recommend this establishment to anyone in town looking for first class indian cuisine. Mon 22nd Jan return visit, early evening in appalling weather. Lovely to receive such a warm welcome from Rocky, Nav and staff. Food was superb as always. I had my usual tandoori lamb tikka and my friend had a delicious Desi Lamb. All finished off with hot rose water chai.😊🤪2/3/24 Every bit as good as last time.

Annaya's Indian recently catered for my birthday party and the whole process from start to finish was exceptional. I spoke with the chef several times to discuss numbers, menu options and budget. The food was delivered to us on time and went down a storm with all of the guests. The food was hot and really tasty with lots of side dishes to pick from. From a visit to the restaurant to pay the initial deposit, it looked really nice to sit in so I look forward to returning for a meal in the restaurant. My thanks again for all of the support with the external catering for my large group.

I came here for a meal with a few good friends for a meal, after hearing so many amazing reviews I was quite disappointed. My friends quite enjoyed their meals but I personally found everything to be lacking that Indian punch of flavours. The best part of the whole meal was the spiced onions which there wasn't alot of for the price you pay and the naan was pretty good too. It's not somewhere I'd hurry back to as there are other places in the town that serve dishes that are packed with flavour for abit cheaper.
Shauna P — Google review
Went out of our way to come here based on reputation and it did not disappoint! Rocky was so knowledgeable and quoted the whole menu from memory. His advice and picks were flawless and we left feeling very full and very well taken care of. Best in town!

Would like to clarify we didn't order from here. There were 15 of us wishing to order a takeaway last Wednesday and were struggling to find an online menu. Walked passed the restaurant about 4.10pm and knocked the door for a takeaway menu. The person chopping in the kitchen area at the front ignored us. Therefore, we went elsewhere. You missed out on c£300 of business. Please can people either answer the door or make a takeaway menu available from outside? Thank you.

First time here while on holiday seeing my Dad and stepmum,... Wow loved this place.. Rocky customer service should be bottled and sold to all hospitality locations. He was welcoming, knew the menu off by heart and also recommended dishes to all 3 of us without doing an upsell. No wonder he is restaurant manager of Scotland!! The food was out of this world tasty, just wished they had a restaurant close to me in Ireland. Do yourselves a favour and get ro Annyas if near Loch lomond..

Amazing food even better service! We got the mixed grill which was lovely and fresh with great portions i wish we had some pictures but we were pretty hungry and ended up scranning it!! then for mains we had a few curries. The chicken curry was sweet and tasty couldn't get enough of the sauce with the rice! we also got the lamb saag which was definitely the one that stole the show the lamb was falling apart it was so tender and the flavours of the curry really came through! Having that with the garlic naan was outstanding. Also need to mention the fact they gave us some condiments that included mango pickle was unique as don't normally get that elsewhere however love it at home.

Steak house
Cattle & Creel seafood and steakhouse is a highly rated restaurant in Helensburgh with stunning views of Loch Lomond. They serve up some of the best Scottish sourced seafood in the area, including fresh West Coast lobster, Tarbert-landed langoustines, Isle of Mull king scallops and Loch Fyne oysters. The restaurant also features a full bar and table service.
We were recommended to go to this place by staff at the Ardgartan Hotel in Arrochar and even though we did not have much time we were happy with the fresh food we received. It took a little bit longer than we thought it might to be brought our food but when it finally arrived it was really tasty. I am glad I only ordered from the small plate menu and had enough food. The sea food was all well cooked and fresh.
Anita B-C (Neeta) — Google review
I came to this resturant whilst travelling with my girlfriend. Long story short, I was please with my dining experience but can not say it was immaculately perfect. Prior to arrival, we had walked through Helensburgh and were struck by the front of the building, the signage was noticeable but it was not too gaudy as to put off the appearance of cheapness. We decided that we wanted the seafood platter as we had a hankering for shellfish. Advice on the menu is to call before you plan to visit to check availability. Staff informed us that we were in luck! Upon arrival, staff were happy to see us, and discussed the meal with us whilst leading us to our table. The presentation was as would be expected although we did have to request alternative cutlery as we were given steak knives to begin. We ordered one (moderately priced) glass of wine each and water for the table. The kitchen is situated in the centre of of the resturant, so it was great pre-meal entertainment to watch the food being prepared. before receiving a five minute warning that starters were on the way out. The meal itself was brilliant, and contained a whole lobster, oysters, scallops, languoustines, two portions of fries and garlic foccacia. All excellently and freshly caught/prepared, and at this point we were also provided with additional cutlery to support our shellfish dining experience. A personal highlight was seeing the finished pile of shells after we had finish. It's worth noting that it took two of us several hours to work through the meal, and of course we left no meat spare. One complaint would be that the salad provided looked and tasted like kebab shop doner salad. This did put a downer on the experience and has cost the meal five stars. We did not opt for desert as the meal left us stuffed. This was the last place we expected to find a quality establishment such as this, and some of the other clientele clearly had a drinks focus during their visit. As we had already opted for a pricey meal, we did not want to empty the bank on drinks but with the options at the bar, you certainly could if you wanted to. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Loch Lomond area and can drive for 20 minutes or so. Service - 9/10 Food - 9/10 Price - 7/10 Atmosphere - 8/10 Overall score: 33/40

First time here and found it to be excellent! Went for lunch and I had the king scallops with haggis bonbon. Absolutely delicious!! Unbelievably flavoursome! Then had the battered haddock and chips. Exceptional. Perfect batter on the fish and the chips were great. The homemade tartare sauce was a bonus. Good service and pleasant surroundings. Will definitely be back.

Restaurant, beautiful and food, tasty and great service. I had two experiences the good one I went on my boyfriend's birthday with his family it was perfect. In day 29/04 I didn't have a good experience, we called during the week to book a time. Arriving at the resturant we were informed that there was no fish, ok in our plans that's fine because we would eat another dish.We ordered wines, soft drinks, starters, when we went to order the main course there was none, I was very disappointed as it was supposed to be a special and romantic lunch as it was my last day in Scotland and I would only return after 6 months. And we went home without lunch because there was no food in the restaurant. I believe that something unexpected could happen, but they could call and let us know and not wait for us to arrive at the restaurant.

Amazing, fresh and tasty food, served by friendly staff. Haddock and chips were one of the best ever. The beefburger was top notch - full of wonderful flavours, accompanied by crispy fries. Very attentive staff. We will definitely return. Couldnt recommend Cattle & Creel highly enough. 10 out of 10.

Fresh, tasty, just-right portions, reasonably priced, friendly service. The seafood linguine is must have, calamari batter perfect, soup came with toasted herbed pita bread.

Wowza! You won't taste what you taste at this restaurant anywhere else. Absolutely amazing food. We had calamari with tartare sauce and foccacia bread with balsamic glaze & olive oil as starters and followed it with seafood linguine. It was one of the best restaurants we have ever been to. The view is also amazing btw!

A wee 1st time visit to Helensburgh on the way to the hills, we were looking for somewhere nice for lunch. Wandered the town, and liked the look of the menu here. Happily, it turned out to be a brilliant choice! Lovely, bright and spacious inside. Nice and welcoming people with fantastic service all round. Great, tasty food. (And I don't often mention this, but immaculate toilets). The whole experience was fabby. Highly recommended.

Lovely place. Stumbled across it during a very cold trip to town with my husband and our young daughter while looking for some warm, delicious food to heat us up and I am so glad we did. Luckily they were able to seat us upstairs. The decor is fab and my daughter really enjoyed sitting up high and having a birds eye view of the place. Service was great and the food was gorgeous. The only thing that I would point out is that the flat bread that came with my meal was a little tough and quite hard to cut with the knife provided. Reasonably priced also. We will most definitely be back next time we are in town. It's a little hidden gem as the entrance is down an alley way so make sure that you don't miss it.

Riverhill is the best wee spot in Helensburgh for breakfast, the staff are really pleasant and the food is delicious and just enough. The lunch and dinner menu are really good too but breakfast is the highlight. The cocktails are amazing too with the 5 for £5 satisfying everyone's tastes.

Really friendly staff, great buzz about the place. Service was prompt and professional, food was amazing. Very fresh, good portion sizes, especially the soup ! Korean cauliflower to start, chicken burger as main. We were a table of 4 and we all ate everything and thoughroully enjoyed the experience. They were turning away people who hadn't booked, it was full and yesterday was a public holiday. Definitely worth booking. Going again soon to sample more. Reasonably priced too. Great cocktails.

Great restaurant and I'm a local so been a few times and food, cocktails, wine are always great. Also great for coffee and brunch during the day and very kid friendly. Only suggestion is there could be more vegetarian choice as I think I only saw one. I'm not a veggie but just thinking if I was taking someone who was they wouldn't have much choice. Mind you my friend asked for mac and cheese off the lunch menu and they were very accommodating. And also the cauliflower starter is immense 😋

Had the eggs with Avocado and the doubled up full Scottish Cannot complain about anything, everything was delicious, service was great, nice atmosphere and beautiful building. Bacon was really tasty, will definitely go again as I had planned to have one of their fancy hot chocolates, but couldn't possibly eat any more after that breakfast!
Kiera Hurry — Google review
I had the big bad chicken burger. It was ok but it was quite greasy and the fried chicken could have done with more seasoning and I didn't like the bite feel, it was dry and a touch on the tough side. The chips were nice. The onion rings were mostly batter, I found it unpleasant. It was ok overall. £20.50

We come to Scotland a few times a year and only just found this place. We wish we had found it sooner. One of the best lunches we have ever had. The place itself is very interesting in a lovely building tucked down a ginnel just off the main street. The staff were unbelievable, so polite and helpful they were spot on. The food was top notch came out quickly all together and nice and hot, perfect sized portions. I can't recommend this place enough, we will be going back as soon as we can we loved it

An evening in a somewhat noisy restaurant, interesting decor, but the partly the bare walls-based acoustics reflecting adult conversations - sounded like Wetherspoons on a Friday night. Clean, but a bit sticky and very, very narrow table sets the scene. The starter was their KFC cauliflower. It's pretty sweet, crunchy and big enough to do two people as a starter. The picture got taken after we ate a couple. We've had it before and would have it again 5*, but half is enough, trust me. The steak was gorgeous as were the fries + some bland gravy. The macaroni cheese was good. The korean burger was an experience, seem to be the same sweet sauce as the KFC, ooooozed out everywhere, face hands plate. The paper napkin couldn't cope (see pic). Nice crunchy and moist chicken, but the sweetness did for me, so had to leave some. Not sure I detected the kimch or cheese as the quantity and sweetness of the sauce drowned everything. Wish I could have called on Moses to part the 'waters' of the sauce to reveal the burger and its companions. The pallid french, limp fries I didn't finish either, but the coleslaw was good. I'll try the mains next time I think. Highlight was the cocktails as desert. Oh and the steak.

First visit to this restaurant and had good first impressions. The staff were very friendly and service was very good. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The rice was enough for two but we got one each. Next time we will order one rice and look at the size of the nan bread, more than enough for both of us. The curry itself was delicious and one of the biggest portions of lamb I have had in any Indian restaurant. Loved this place and would definitely recommend for all curry lovers. I will certainly be back for more.
