Received a warm welcome despite not having a reservation. Meals were great, coupled with bottomless cola. Free parking and WiFi, excellent all-round. If this review was helpful please give it a like below.

Prawn cocktail was delicious. Chicken curry was just OK. Fish and chips lovely. Handy to Premier inn for dinner lunch and breakfast , bar as well. No firm favourites, sticky toffee pudding or bread pudding seams to be available at any of the Brewers Fayre recently visited

Very nice little eatery. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent.

Had evening meal there. Wasn't too impressed to be fair. My daughter's food she loved the 3 course apart from having to wait the 20 mins for her dessert which we had to remind the waitress for a second time we were waiting for. I had the pie which was okay. The chips were a bit cold. But the reason I've given 4 star in the end was for the breakfast the following day. Couldn't fault it what so ever. Plenty of choice and buffet food was hot. The staff were excellent as well. When asked for something couldn't of been more helpful

Visited tonight with my partner for a valentines day meal. Placed the order at about 6:45, it turned up after being chased twice at 7:30 after several other orders. Steak overcooked (should have been rare, was more medium to well done) The excuse given was it was due to allergen precautions. It has never taken 45 mins before on previous visits. Disabled parking lighting has been off for about 2 years. I assume nobody ever looks outside at night?

We enjoy a carvery on a regular basis and like to try new places but we wish we never ate here. The carvery only had 2 meats which were either turkey or ham. Turkey looked dry so i declined and settled for the ham. I received 3 small slices of ham and that was it. No extra as i didnt want the turkey. Moved along to the vegetables and every pot was dry from sitting under the heat lamps for too long. The cabbage was brown, the carrots were rock hard like little bullets and the roast potatoes were like rocks, dont start me on the stuffing balls which could of been confused for mini cannon balls. We complained to the management advising that if they knew it was like this then we should of been told and given the choice to eat elsewhere. The manager was very cheeky and stand offish. She told us we would be refunded but only refunded 2 kidds meals as there was no mash potatoes. This was a total waste of almost £60 for two adults and 3 kids. We had to stop for something to eat elsewhere on the way home. I would never recommend this place and would advise all to avoid at all costs.

⭐️Awesome hospitality ⭐️ We were a large group of approx 60 people (wedding group) of all ages. You can imaging the atmosphere full of activity. HATS OFF to Jennifer and her awesome team Megan, Khym and Kyle who went with the flow NEVER refused any requests large or small. They are an asset to Brewers Fayre 👏👏👏👏. Wish they were London based as I would head hunt them immediately and make them part of my team. 🎩 off 👏👏👏👏👏

Popped in for a quick lunch while checking in next door at the Premier Inn. Service was quick and friendly. Food choice was okay and we got a 2 meals for £9.99 deal 🍴Place was not overly busy but still people coming and going. Food was out in good time, decent portion sizes and tasted pretty good ☺️ Toliets where up 2 seta of stairs and through some doors though. Almost though I was in a weatherspoons 😂

Big positive shout out to all the staff in particular Becca. Becca made us feel very welcome, explained the meal deal linked to the hotel fully, she was bright and bubbly and added to the overall experience. Hospitality across the board needs a lot more Becca’s in it. Food was ok, it was what you would expect.

Easter visit. Staying next-door at the Premier Inn. Pudding and drinks at the end of a busy day was in order. This was more difficult than I would have liked. We chose from the drinks menu and the first option wasn't available. So back with a second choice of Guinness to go with Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard. I had a fabulous Chocolate Brownie with ice-cream accompanied by a gin. I opted for an off the menu Sipsmith's Very Berry, asked for a double and only got a single, I made the mistake of asking which mixers were available to which I was advised soda, lemonade, coke, tango, or J2O. I found the unlit mixer fridge myself and opted for a Fever Tree Rhubarb and Raspberry tonic water. We did not opt to stay for another drink, disappointed. There's plenty of onsite parking, good facilities, and fully accessible.

I'm not often a critical reviewer so I'll try and share a balanced review. This restaurant was aligned with our hotel so we decided to drop in for dinner. The good parts were the service was very good, the chips and onion rings were nice and the manager was helpful. Unfortunately there were a few issues with our meal. A rump steak that was requested medium came quite well done, the chargrilled tomato was raw and the beef burger was dry. Also I was quite clumsy and managed to cut my finger on the plate that I hadn't realised was chipped! We hadn't brought up any issues to the staff at the time of receiving the order but I'm sure they would have replaced it if we had. The server when collecting our finished dishes was attentive and the manager came to speak to us and gave us a discount on our bill. Overall it wasn't the best experience we had but it was possibly just a bad day.
Yousef Al-Obaidi — Google review
Well I have to honest the place looks like it needs a good tidy up. Our food seemed to take an age to arrive. There is no cleaning being done at all. The tables surrounding us hadn't been cleared in 3hrs, the young waiter was unfortunately clueless to what he was serving and where he was going. The food was OK but not worth the prices we were charged. Certainly not somewhere I'd rush back to.

Staff excellent room was good chairs were well worn out ,furniture the same ,bathroom was modern and nice walk in shower ,bed was comfy .I've had literally hundreds of cooked breakfasts and this was definitely in the top 5 in my opinion. A hotel needs to serve a good cooked breakfast.i would recommend this place and I'll return.

Only went to the restaurant but it was a lovely place if slightly old fashioned but the food certainly wasn't. Everything was absolutely excellent and very good value too. Fantastic service doesn't hurt one bit either

I stayed weekend just gone, Hotel is like a antique shop/charity shop, no running theme, just bits of this and bits of that, we found it very messy, scruffy. Rooms very dated and over priced. Beds like slab of rock, not comfortable at all. Again scruffy and tatty rooms. Breakfast was basically one of everything, we were still hungry afterwards, poor very poor Majority of the staff were very nice and accommodating, the manager Jason, has some sort of split personality, friendly when he's taking money from you, but snappy when your after some more brown sauce. This hotel is not worth more than £19.99 per night, yes the location is nice, but without overhaul and management change this place is DOOMED. Would never stay again. No chance. Shabby hotel, shabby management

Stopped here for one night. Karen was lovely and attended to us with a smile and a warm welcome. I observed her greeting others and she clearly enjoys her job as she was sparkling. They offered to call us if a table came available earlier and they did and the food was typical pub grub. Satisfactory. Staff were quick to take orders and get those hungry bellies filled. They were quick to get the vaccum and cleaning supplies out when you left too. The room itself was warm and the bathroom in particular was lovely. I was concerned about potential traffic noise but it was no bother (we stayed a Saturday and left around 9am on a Sunday)

We stopped overnight and although the room was comfortable and the food good it’s the staff that really make this hotel fantastic. I’m really sorry that we didn’t take the receptionist’s name, she was absolutely brilliant and the waiting staff were great too, thanks guys.

We visited and had family Birthday Dinner. First time for a while, not be so long next time as food and service still excellent. James and His Team Amazing 👍👏

Nice place with decent food. Roast potatoes were very heavy on pepper and roast beef was carved along the grain instead of across so was tougher than it needed to be. But otherwise the food is good for money. Small Kids meals are better suited to under 6's. Eight people ate for about £27 per head for 3 courses.

Stopped at Abbotsford house Hotel Dumbarton on way to Portree, and stopped off on way back to Yorkshire. Unfortunately late at night my husband took ill, he was taken to hospital. I stopped at the hotel and I cannot thank everyone enough from housekeeping, lovely Rose on reception restaurant staff. Rose sorted out our room to stop two extra days while husband was in hospital, and sort out getting home.(kidney stones all is well) 5 stars from entering reception greeted with a friendly smile. Rooms where lovely and clean. The hotel throughout was spotless. The restaurant was nice and inviting again staff so polite and friendly, the food was on point, as I ate here lunch and evening meal for 3 days. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for it definitely will take some beating. Highly recommend

Whenever we vist the area we go for a meal here. The food has always been very good with good service. The quality of the food gives really good value for money. I can't comment on the hotel side of it as never stayed as we're always using our caravan when we visit this locale.

We eat out every Saturday and found The Abbotsford online. Gave it a try and went the past two weekends. It has been lovely food at good prices. The cream chicken enchiladas were unreal. The service is fast and special mention to Agnes Mary who replaced my wifes fajaitas as they came with a sauce she was not expecting. She was trying to force it down as did not want to make a fuss. Agnes Mary swapped this with no hassle and no extra charge. This will be a new place for us to try on our weekly dinner slots now. Fussy eaters so finding somewhere can be difficult and now we have been twice it proves the first time was not a fluke for the food. Really enjoyed it. Service being fast is also a bonus.

For me, the place was best described as functional. I was attending a meeting there and didn't use a bedroom. We did have dinner there & found the restaurant to be busy. The food was fair, well priced & the service also friendly. It was easy to see why the place was busy on a Sunday afternoon.

Went in for some dinner with friends, we were there on the later side of the night so it was quiet. Staff were very cheerful and friendly when greeting us. Gave plenty of time to let us choose what we were ordering and didn't keep coming back asking if everything was ok (I know some people don't mind that but I prefer to just enjoy the meal). I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry, which was amazing. Tasted great and there was plenty of it. Would definitely go again.

Lovely little motel/hotel. Lots of free parking which is well lit and secure. Really nice spacious rooms, great open plan restaurant with tables to suit 1, 2, 3 or more, including groups, families, and kids. Separate function room for celebrations, parties, functions, etc, that are usually booked out at weekends. Food is great with a takeaway service, which seems to be popular. Dusablity access, seating outside with a separate smoking area and safe place sevure cycles. The staff are immensely supportive and friendly.

The Counting House, located in West Dunbartonshire, is a Scottish bar that offers a variety of dishes and drinks. With 256 reviews, it is currently open for business. The menu consists of Scottish cuisine and the prices range from moderate to expensive. The atmosphere is lively and the staff is known to be welcoming. Had a great time at the counting house on Saturday. Food was excellent. Nachos were spot on, good variety of food as well as a number of veggie options, staff were so accommodating to our dietary needs. Decent prices for drinks as well. The cocktails are delicious and have a range of alcohol. Shout out to Chloe for looking after us at our table. Very helpful and always checking in.

We have been here on a number of occasions but the last was the worst ever. We came in as a one off treat during the day in the afternoon. We ordered the two dinner deal at £12.99 plus a steak pie. I had the fish and chips which to be fair, wasn't great. The batter was too crispy and the fish was cold. They didn't have and peas left, so I was given baked beans (not great with that dinner). My wife got steak pie with mash. When it arrived, she said it was dry as anything and of course, not hot. The barmaid asked if she wanted extra gravy but my wife declined incase she got charged extra. She also said her veg was cold and hard. Our daughter got macaroni, which also wasn't great. In all, a disappointing visit. It's been like this most times we have visited. Unfortunately, that will be our last. **Edit** Having exchanged emails with Kerry, the manager, she very kindly invited the three of us back for a free dinner. Which was anything we wanted from the menu. Any main and soft drinks. This visit was much better than the last. Couldn't fault a thing. The food was hot and really good. It was such a lovely gesture to do this and made our week. We would definitely recommend to friends and family and hope to be back again soon. Service was great and the staff are so nice too and welcoming. Thank you again Kerry.

In the main I like the Pub and the staff are, very much, on the ball and attentive. The biggest bugbear I have is, the Gents toilets leave a lot to be desired and, in the cubicles it's not uncommon to find there's no toilet roll but, in particular, the right hand side cubicle's seat cover hasn't been secured to the bowl for months and slides all over the place. How hard can it be to sort a basic thing like that? This may not be high on the Pubs priorities, clearly, but, as Conrad Hilton (of the Hilton Hotel chain) said, "You can tell the quality of an establishment by the attention that's paid to the toilets". Try to do better please.

Very good pub with a decent range of beers, friendly staff and punters, and just generally good vibes. Also ate here and the meals were excellent value for money (just over a tenner for a meal and a drink isn't bad, especially nowadays!). Big screens for sports and various different parts of the bar with seating arrangements too.
Patrick Chapman — Google review
The staff is friendly, the food is ok (standard pub food). The place is focused on sports in general and racing in particular. When I was there the pool table was broken. I would go again if I'm in the area.
Mihaela — Google review
We popped in on Christmas eve on the way to Lomond shores for a quick lunch after reading fairly positive reviews. We've been to the same chain in different locations & the food has generally been of a good standard. The restaurant part was fairly quiet during our visit & it started off well with our starters being good & served promptly. The main course wasn't as much of a success however as we waited about half an hour for that & when mine arrived (a mushroom pie) the pastry was cold, there was hardly any mushrooms & what was there was, was cold & congealed. When I explained this to the waitress, she advised that she would pass that on for quality control purposes which was of little use to me at the time. This experience added to the place looks and feels grubby, with stained furniture, means we'd be unlikely to visit again

Indian takeaway
Masala Twist is an indian restaurant found in multiple locations around Glasgow. The restaurant has a Punjabi interior with typical music and provides a great evening tea party atmosphere with office colleagues. The food is good, but lacks the authentic flavour of traditional Indian cuisine. However, it will still try again and is good value for money.
Food is amazing and spicy! They have a special menu for allergies (a lot of plates are gluten free) but they warned about cross contamination! Waiters are helpful and nice, great atmosphere (the room is also beautifully decorated with colourful furniture) and they have a convenient menu offer (1 starter, 1 main and 1 side for 9.99£). Portions are big! Definitely a must go if you like Indian food!
Andrea Callegaro — Google review
Interior decoration and Punjabi ambience with the typical music was nice for an evening tea party with office colleagues. Tea was served in the glass and tasted similar to home tea. Chats items were good, but lacked authentic flavour. But it will still try again and is good value for money.

It was our first time in Masala Twist and it won't be our last. Our waiter was Tanishq, he was so welcoming and attentive . He recommended some items on the menu and I was not disappointed. The food was delicious, the service amazing. We ordered a la cart and would definitely recommend. Forgot to take a picture of our food but empty plates say it all!

This was my first time visiting Masala Twist and I was pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is tucked away at the top of Hope Street and I don't think it gets the traffic that it deserves. The food we ordered was very nice and was piping hot. Quality and flavours matched the best I've had in Glasgow City Centre and the staff were all great. Very efficient, courteous and friendly. So if you fancy some great Indian food try going a wee bit out of your way up to the top of Hope Street and check it out. Masala Twist - recommended 👍🏻

I visited here on a Sunday lunchtime a few weeks ago and can't speak highly enough of the place. I had 3 different vegetarian street dishes, a Peshwari Naan and a Masala chai tea. The food and service was impeccable. The 2 young gentlemen waiting tables were a credit to the business, can't speak highly enough of them. I left a 20 percent tip as my thanks :) All of the food coming out of the kitchen looked fabulous. I highly recommend the food here as one of the best I have tried over my many visits to different Indian food establishments. I will now look forward to visiting here anytime I am passing through Glasgow ❤️ The restaurant itself was a bit dated. But had a nice old India vibe with colourful atmosphere and Indian newspapers plastered over the toilet walls. Cleanliness was of a high standard during my visit and my only disappointment was at the choice of music as I prefer more contemporary Indian music. Overall a great, welcoming visit with amazing food and service at reasonable prices and I walked away with a wonderful experience and a great memory. I highly recommend this as a great lunchtime or afternoon visit for any Indian food lovers who are in Glasgow. Looking forward to my next visit 😁

This was the nicest and delicious Indian food we had, very much to our surprise, after trying a few overrated ones in London, and even nicer than some of what we had back home in Singapore. It’s not watered down sweetened British Indian food, the mutton biryani is fragrant, not over buttery, and can taste the spice from other dishes too. We were sad that we’re leaving Glasgow next morning else we’ll definitely drop by again. Friendly and attentive staff. London really needs a restaurant like yours. Highly recommended!
Angie Glen (AC) — Google review
We arrived in Glasgow quite tired and we’re looking for a place nearby without the need to go through booking etc. This place was for sure a very pleasant surprise! Fantastic and generous food, kind and attentive service (by Jyoti - thank you so much for your hospitality) and a very nice atmosphere. Some of the dishes on the menu were quite a novel- we had not seen them in any curry restaurant before. Go there hungry! We will certainly be back.

First time at this restaurant on way to theatre. Was very pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, very tasty and very good portion sizes. We went for the pre-theatre menu and was not disappointed. Staff very friendly and attentive without being overbearing, young waitress Kashish, was very professional. Does not look much from the outside, but in this case looks are deceiving. Would recommend and will definitely be back.

I recently dined at this Indian restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food was incredibly authentic, reminding me of the best Indian flavors. It felt like I had good Indian food after a long time. The ambience was pleasant, setting the perfect mood for the meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. What's more, the prices offered great value for the quality of the dishes. The variety of vegetarian options was impressive, and each dish I tried was brilliant. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying Indian dining experience.

Staff welcomed me in and asked if I was having a good day. My waiter Puneet was very helpful and pleasant. Great atmosphere and bright decor made being there relaxing. I had a chicken curry, fried pilau rice and nann bread. It was delicious and just spicy enough. I don't drink alcohol so can't comment on the choice or prices. I always feel relaxed here.

Good Food. Good Service. Staff is Friendly & Courteous. Good Atmosphere. Resonable Priced being City Centre Location. More Fresh Air/Ventilation may help though to avoid curry smell settling into clothes. Sitting arrangement is good. Voluntarily Didn't charge for the item which wasn't upto the mark. Authentic Indian Food. You can feel they are here for some serious business.

Doesn't look much from the outside but we liked the varied menu so gave it a go - so pleased we did. Inside it's quite cute, I think they are going for the Dhaba feel with the bare wood tables. Choley Bathura, Dal Makhani were amazing. Veg Manchurian also good. Service was polite. Loved the Indian background music. Will return.

Recently, I visited Bollywood Lounge, an Indian restaurant located in Dumbarton. The staff at this establishment were incredibly attentive and provided excellent service. Their garlic naan bread was exceptionally fresh, and both of the curries I tried were absolutely delicious. I opted for the balti vindaloo with desired strength and also indulged in their South Indian garlic chili dish, which left me thoroughly impressed.
Had a home delivery tonight, the food was blow your head off good. We might have paid a little more than elsewhere but the food was worth every penny. Delivery was fast and efficient , food still hot when we got it. We got the set meal for two, and there was more than plenty there. Best curry I’ve ever eaten, thanks. Lovely delivery lady also.

Ist time trying this restaurant for takeaway. Absolutely gorgeous, very fresh and flavoursome. Garlic nan was a tiny bit oily for my liking bit rest of family liked it. Would recommend cauliflower pakora and chicken bhoona. Rice was fluffy and not all stuck together. Would definitely return. Top notcheroo 🙂

Couldn't eat it, far too many chillies in mild to medium dish. Such a shame as all the good reviews it had. Never had garlic mushrooms in Puri bread before, but it was OK. Will stick to Delhi durbhar or Mashala twist in future.

We have ordered food from here several times and we were always happy with it. Today we received Pakoras with uncooked potatoes inside. Called to restaurant and said about this, only to be told that this is impossible. Waiter and chef argued with us for over 15 min on phone and still didn't admit to that even that I was telling that they can send a driver and take them back to see that they have raw potatoes inside. Was told that I was shouting at waitress where she actually hardly let me speak. Absolutely horrible treatment of customer! At the end chef has said that they will not charge us for Pakoras in next order but definitely won't be ordering from there again as even curries wasn't good today as in our previous orders.

We went here on Friday, service was great, the staff were so lovely and the food was delicious 😋 we enjoyed it so much we ordered the same for takeaway tonight lol The restaurant is decorated beautifully too. Felt relaxed and comfortable. Another thing that we had noticed and feel it should be commented upon, the place was immaculate. The bathrooms were sparkling. Absolutely the cleanest toilets I have been in for years! No dust or grime hiding in corners or between tiles. Absolutely spotless.

Ridiculous waiting time of just over 2 hours. Food was missing items. Why not call customers or let them know that food will be late? Had to call and it sounded like they weren't that bothered. It used to be really good but probably won't use them again.

We used to order our food from here a couple of years ago and the food was good but after a while we noticed a lower standard of food being delivered and stopped going there. I'm pleased to say we went back about a month ago and since then have been going back there ever since. the food is no longer a hit or miss, it's perfect every time! I am so glad I went back to this restaurant because I can honestly say it's now the best Indian restaurant in Dumbarton! Try it for yourself.

Wonderful meal last night! Lovely service, great menu (fish pakora was immense) and very good wine. So glad to have finally found a quality restaurant in Dumbarton and can’t wait to come back. Just wish they were open for lunch on weekends but we can hang on until dinner.
