Hisaya Ōdōri Park, located at the heart of Nagoya in Sakae, is a picturesque urban oasis surrounded by city streets. The park features a manmade river, fountains, an orchid garden, and the iconic Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER. Visitors can enjoy stunning views from the 90-meter high Sky Deck and 100-meter high Sky Balcony. The park hosts cultural events, exhibitions, and seasonal festivals throughout the year.
Overall nice experience. One of the popular landmark of Nagoya. You can visit the Nagoya tower and Oasis in one go. Park is clean, wide green grass area where you can lay around, drinking or just enjoy the view. Variety of cafe and restaurant, also fashion boutique complement the area.

A good place to be relax in a busy city. Here there are many restaurants, dinning bars and shopping 🛍 stores with expensive price 😉 Also you can easily approach to the subway Higashiyama line through this park. You can enter this park in 24 hours free.but I think stores close after 10 pm except bars and restaurants. There are no smoking area in this park 🚭 A smile for your tired day 🙂
Prabhash Muthumala — Google review
It isn’t a huge park but it’s well kept with some restaurants and shops surrounding it. A green lung to unwind, sit and observe people. A good view of it would be from the Mirai Tower. From here you can continue walking towards the Sakae shopping area.

Newly renovated (2021 finish) park in the center of Nagoya. Very good in all seasons. Best in summer for sitting on the grass (yes it is allowed and encouraged) and eating and drinking with friends.

Love this park! Lots of nice stores, family friendly, landmark tower that is the Nagoya version of the Eiffel, and outdoor kiosks that sell all sorts of food. Nice to chill with a lemon dou on a breezy Sunday September afternoon!

I've been here for three times already and still not get tired of this place. There are luxury fashion shop and restaurants in this area. The view of the Nagoya is also fantastic especially during the night.

Very nice area. They renovated everything about this park. Very clean and beautiful. The stores and restaurants are a little expensive but you can have a nice picnic too in some parts. Great place to walk around while waiting.

Landmark of Nagoya. They beautified the park very well. Very relaxing and so many spots to sit on and for taking photos. There are also so many shops and stores!

Perfect for a relaxing stroll if you have the time. The path is scenic and helps you to de-stress after a long day.

Great park. Highly walkable. Lots of restaurants and open spaces for children to play in and for events. Foreigner-friendly even though some foreigners weren’t friendly and caused trouble for locals and fellow foreigners.🙄

Surprised to find this in the middle of the city. Nice to walk around, has a number of good restaurants. Close to the main bus station and sub way.

The place offers an amazing experience. The vibe here is so lively & filled with great enthusiasm & majestic view. It has the best eye catching views around the sunset time & once the lights are glowing post the evening time. It's a must visit place when in Nagoya.

Amazing urban park stretching 4 blocks with lawn spaces, outlet stores, bars, art, and more. It's definitely one of the best urban parks I have seen in japan.

A wonderful park with full of fancy coffee shops and a small playground. Nice to come for a walk in Nagoya. I walked from this park to Nagoya Castle and it took me around 20 min.

Port Messe Nagoya

Mentioned on
Event venue
Conference & Convention Centers
Port Messe Nagoya is a versatile facility with ample space for conventions, exhibitions and concerts. It boasts of three dining options and a courtyard that accommodates food trucks during lunch and early dinner hours. The halls are spacious, well-maintained with functional amenities such as air conditioning and stable power supply. However, the venue lacks on-site lodging facilities or substantial lodging options nearby, which may require attendees to commute for at least an hour daily, making it less convenient for multiday events.

Terrible venue for live performances. Saw Janet Jackson, and even though we had seats near the front, I couldn’t imagine what the view was from the back. The was no atmosphere outside, the lobby was completely bare with no posters, you would never know there was a live show on. There are no bars, no food stalls, nothing. It’s completely barren and stark. It’s like a hospital ward. Also the staff are incredibly rude and they pushed me out of the venue. Also the seats are TINY, made for children. A ridiculous venue for live music.
Dragon Bear — Google review
Far from city exhibition hall. Easier to handle crowds. Can be reachable by train and car. One plus point on my trip during raining, got a shuttle bus (500 yen) to city center.
Patrick Teong — Google review
Went here for a Kpop event. Love that it’s connected to the train station so it’s easy to get to.

A wonderful car show

I was a participant at a robotics competition that took up several halls for about a week. The halls were large and had adequate bathrooms. Air conditioning worked well and power was stable. There were food trucks in the courtyard each day for lunch and early dinner. There were also restaurants near the nearby LegoLand enterance. The one reason I would not hold a multiday event here - there is no lodging on-site and seemingly no substantial lodging options until Nagoya Station (which can be reached without transfers). This means all attendees will be spending at least an hour a day commuting which grows tiring.

Additionally, Oike Park has a small zoo which adds to its charm.
An older, but well- maintained park with, as the name implies, a large curvaceous lake. The lake is fringed with beautiful cherry trees and their dangling fronds in spring and brilliantly colored foliage in the fall. There is something for every season: plum trees in early spring, cherries, irises, hydrangea, etc, etc. A very nice place to spend the day.

Great Buddha of Shuurakuen

Mentioned on
Sights & Landmarks
Hiking area
The Great Buddha of Shuurakuen is a towering 19-meter statue situated within a verdant park famous for its cherry blossom and autumnal hues. The sculpture, along with two imposing guardians, imparts a contemplative aura to the well-maintained park. It boasts various amenities such as restrooms and restaurants, while also being conveniently located near the Shurakuen station on Meitetsu line.
Simply beautiful and peaceful! It’s a little far from everything and not very accessible, but if you are driving, it definitely worth stopping for a picnic. It’s a family place and not a famous touristic attraction, so it wasn’t crowded at all! It was winter tho… Very beautiful place with a massive Buddha statue. There’s also an aquatic center in the park, so If you are in Nagoya and looking for a nice place to visit. Give it a go and check this place out!
Marcos Ichinohe — Google review
Should be the biggest budha statue where you can go for free in Japan. Definately the biggest in central Japan. Bigger than Kamakura one, shorter than Nara one. It's worth seeing and very short walk from Shurakuen station.

Hidden spot with no tourists at all! Definitely worth a visit.
Teddy Tan — Google review
Amazing place. It's worth waking up early this winter to discover and take beautiful photos 🙏
Miriam Tokunaga — Google review
A beautifully maintained park. And a very large and well-sculpted Buddha adds grace and a meditative spirit to the park. This massive sculpture is flanked by two large dramatic guardians. This park is well-known for its cherry blossoms, but I found that it is equally as beautiful in fall with fiery fall colors accentuating the hills and curves of the park and its lake. There is a restaurant and plenty of restroom facilities. It is also located very near the Shurakuen station on the Meitetsu line.

Gemma Benarao — Google review
A nice park, the Buddha's big and interesting, v worth taking a few minutes to see, and there's a bit of a pond/lake and children's play area. A good place to spend 30-60 minutes

(Translated by Google) September 2020 I happened to arrive when the big door was open. My uncle told me, ``If it's true, today is the festival.'' There are two food stalls inside the door, which can be seen through the glass from the second floor. There are also fireworks and kites on display. It looks like you can try your hand at making a kite, and there are various decorations in a dedicated room. It must have been made recently, so it's very beautiful.
