It is a part of Nishio Castle that has been rebuilt and restored . You can visit the former Konoe residence of the Sukiya-style mansion, the camellia garden, and the beautiful Kyoto-style garden of Shokoso, and you can also drink Nishio's specialty matcha. Definitely recommended.

A wonderful small park with a charming rebuilt castle and traditional tea house
Mark Williams — Google review
Despite the abandon of Nishio Shrine, this historic park is being well kept and slowly improved. It is a spot for great photographs if you spot the right place. It has a tea house at its core that offers a view to a zen garden. It's definitely a must see when in Nishio.

Located in Nishio Okanoyama, the Michi-no-Eki rest stop is easily accessible from Shitamichi via a narrow river road or the Route 23 bypass. The parking lot offers ample space and facilities including restrooms, rest areas, shops, a small supermarket, and a dining area.

(Translated by Google) 2022.1.9 I went! After all the roadside station is interesting It's supposed to be a service area I'm glad I handled various Nishio specialties. It just seems to be popular and it may take some time to park in the parking lot Be careful as there are many customers at the roadside station itself There is also an eat-in space You can enjoy various kinds of souvenirs After that, I sold parfait and matcha mont blanc and it looked delicious, but I stopped because it was quite pricey. It's exciting to open a store But isn't it suitable for people with children? You may get lost It ’s crowded, so it ’s dangerous. If you are interested, why don't you stop by? The clerk can also kindly explain the product As a souvenir, I bought a retort curry using Mikawa pork and matcha. The matcha roll mini seems to be popular and was already sold out The full size was left I have taken several pictures this time as well, so I would appreciate it if you could refer to it. 5/8(日)12時着 西尾市では給食でも出るイカフライのレモン煮を食べに来ました。 (Translated by Google) 5/8 (Sun) 12:00 In Nishio City, I came to eat fried squid simmered in lemon, which is served at school lunches. The fried squid was refreshingly delicious with crispy lemon, and the pork soup with red soup stock was delicious. A family who came a few minutes after us tried to choose a fried squid simmered in lemon set meal, but it was sold out, so my father asked for a tonkatsu set meal with a regretful look. In addition, Nishio City has been certified as a regional brand for matcha, and the matcha Mont Blanc has ice cream inside, and the bitterness of the matcha and the sweetness of the ice cream were exquisite and delicious. As an aside, I heard that the penguin village in Dr. Slump Arale-chan, the representative work of Dr. Akira Toriyama, was modeled for a certain place in Nishio City. The okonomiyaki looked delicious with a fried egg on top, so I bought it, but it had too much flour and was a little chewy...However, the pork inside was delicious. Nishio's famous matcha red bean paste and fresh cream milk France was a little dry, but the taste was delicious. The shrimp cutlet and egg sandwich made by the bakery has a lot of shrimp in it, and the bread is sweet and delicious! I bought the locally famous fried squid with lemon sauce for an adult flavor. The coarsely ground pepper gives it an exquisite taste that is like a mellower version of Nanbanzuke, so I can see why it will be popular as a snack! (Translated by Google) I saw the special exhibition "Love Letters to Plants". This exhibition features various herb books, Tomitaro Makino, a famous plant taxonomist, and Ginichiro Nagura, a local botanist. In addition to Udagawa Shōan's ``Botany Keihara,'' there were also books on display at the venue, such as ``Taishi Honso Meishō'' by Keisuke Ito (who is from Nagoya), an herbalist with ties to the Tokai region, and Iinuma Keisai's ``Plant Illustrated Guide.'' ” is on display. There are many other kinds of herbal calligraphy on display, and all of them are beautifully illustrated. It is truly a wonderful piece of botanical art. Therefore, this exhibition is also recommended for those who are interested in botanical art. 2024.1.7 I went to see the special exhibition "Tadaji Matsui". Apparently this person was a vassal of Ieyasu, but I was embarrassed to say that I had no idea about it. According to the exhibit, Tadatsugu Matsui was a military commander who participated in the Battle of Anegawa, the Battle of Mikatagahara, the Battle of Nagashino, and was even active on the front lines in the battle against the Takeda family. It seems that he truly supported Ieyasu in terms of martial arts. As a result of his efforts, it is said that Ieyasu gave him the surname Matsudaira, and that he received Ieyasu's first character, ``yasu,'' and called himself ``Yasuchika.'' It is also depicted in a manga by Kou Suzuki that was also on display at the venue. 2023.7.22 I went to see the special exhibition ``Old Castles: Records of Lost Castles''. There were various documents and pictures on display about old castles built during the Sengoku period, but the one that interested me the most was the picture of Chashi, an Ainu castle. If you are a castle fan, many of you may know that the Nemuro Peninsula Chashi ruins are listed as No. 1 in "Let's go to Japan's 100 famous castles", but Chashi means "fence enclosure" in the Ainu language. It was also used for rituals and as a place to keep watch. In addition to Chashi, there were also historical materials on display about Gusuku, a castle in Okinawa, but there were only documents and no pictures. Was it because the person who compiled it had no artistic sense? I wish they had kept not only the documents but also the pictures. I went to see the special exhibition "Swords: The Charm of Swords Seen from Books." Exhibitions of swords are sometimes held in art galleries and museums, but isn't it rare to see an exhibition of books about swords like this? Among the several items on display, the one that most interested me was the Yamada family's secret scroll, ``Fixture Design Drawing Scroll.'' This is a book that describes the secret technique for making a trial cut with a sword. When I saw this, I was reminded of the story of Ieyasu, who used a criminal to test the sword with Miike's sword just before his death. I wondered if Ieyasu did it this way too. As an aside, there is a story in ``Genroku Tatami Magistrate's Diary'' in which Bunzaemon Asahi used the bodies of executed criminals to perform a ``Fuemonozan'' technique. Although this is an exhibition of books about swords, actual swords are also on display. So, for those who like swords, men and women, young and old, Japanese and foreigners...Come, Come, Everybody! 2022.4.8 Although it is now Nishio City, it was originally a private library built by local businessman Yasuke Iwase with his own money for the benefit of the people. It's really wonderful to create a library for so many people. Although it is smaller than Toyo Bunko, which has the name Mitsubishi Zaibatsu on the back, it still has a collection of over 80,000 books. I think there are many interesting exhibitions that utilize its extensive collection of books. The exhibition ``Rethinking Famine'' that was held a while ago was truly thought-provoking. There are also some interesting publications. Among them, the one that caught my interest was the booklet ``Itadakimasu: The Deliciousness of Edo.'' This is a recipe that reproduces a dish written in a cookbook from the Edo period. Looking at photos of recreated dishes really makes me want to try them. I look forward to continuing to introduce and publish rare and interesting books.

(Translated by Google) Anyway, it's a big park. The area is divided into two. Parking is available on either side. Since the entire mountain is a park, most of the trails are sloped, so it may be quite difficult for people with weak legs. The view all the way to Mikawa Bay is outstanding. In the large lawn area, cycle park-like area, and long connected play equipment, the children are smiling and working hard to move forward, making it fun to watch. At the end, there is an ant hell waiting for you, which is also really fun as you can't quite get up because of the slippery slope. There is a shop, but sometimes it's open and sometimes it's not, so it's better to go to the shop next to the parking lot or bring a lunch box with you. There is also a campsite within the park. In the winter, an outdoor ice skating rink is open next to the parking lot and can get crowded. It's an old-fashioned park where you can move your body to your heart's content all day long and play without getting bored without spending a lot of money.

My son really enjoyed! The land train is amazing. Pay once to ride for the whole day. The staff are very friendly.

(Translated by Google) A playground that is not enough for one day. The rides are expensive, so it's better to buy a ticket. There is also a small cafeteria where you can eat. At the shop, instant food is sold in packs at a relatively high price. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you take out the food on the way there or buy bento boxes and side dishes from Aeon supermarkets and eat them at Aichi Children's Country. There are plenty of places to eat with great views.

Our kids love this park! You can let them walk around in the huge park and make them tired enough for a peaceful night. :) In winter, the ice-skating rink opens and kids never want to miss it!

(Translated by Google) There is a real steam locomotive powered by coal that you can ride. It has an atmosphere full of the Showa era and has a vast grounds. You can get around the park by diesel train, and it's also great for hiking. The observation deck on top of Sunset Hill is highly recommended for its beautiful views.

今しかできませんよ😁✌️ (Translated by Google) ☀ It was a nice and easy day, so I went expecting it to be crowded, but I was able to park and play normally. In one word, great! Right 😆🕺 The children had so much fun playing with it 😀👍 As a parent, I feel happy to see my children run around, play, and laugh with all their energy. The scenery is beautiful and the air is delicious. It's so much better to move around in nature than playing games at home 😁 Being able to see, touch, and feel the experience, playing ball in the plaza, playing equipment, go-karts, and the train were all great experiences and great memories😀 I think it's a bit more dangerous, but it's a shame that I can't go there because it's far away if you take a high speed train😣💦 I feel so jealous of the people in my neighborhood 😄 Come make memories with your kids! You can only do it now😁✌️

(Translated by Google) Children's Country was a place I used to go to on field trips when I was a child. The park opened in 1974, the year after I was born. Apparently there was heavy traffic on the nearby roads as well. What struck me when I visited for the first time in a while was how vast the grounds were. When I was a child, I would go home just from Asahigaoka, so I guess I didn't appreciate how spacious it was. It might be a good idea to create a side road on the site and create a course for electric scooters. (The slope from the station is a bit steep, so maybe we'll make the attraction start from the station.)But when you think about it later, this is a country for children. The children were walking out of the station on their own, and there were just a few scratches! Grow spiritually rich with nature! That's the philosophy. Don't rely too much on the tastes of adults. We must continue to cherish the ideals we had at the time of the country's opening. The playground equipment and benches that we used to play on in the past have been maintained but still remain. The wide grassy area feels nice. Although there was a threat to its survival, its attitude of trying to use its wisdom and liven things up was the same as the philosophy of Kodomo no Kuni in the central plaza. I want it to stay forever.

(Translated by Google) Admission is free, but there is a 500 yen fee for parking and fees for each vehicle. Although the facility is large, there are many slopes that make it difficult to move around. Satisfaction level was ⭐️⭐️⭐️. I feel like it could be condensed a little more compactly.

(Translated by Google) It's a very big park For children who can walk up to elementary school students It's a place where you can enjoy a lot of things. There are many slopes, so sports shoes are recommended! The parking lot costs 500 yen, but at this price it's perfect for a family service once in a while. I used it for camping the other day. I received it. 200 yen per adult It's about 100 yen per child, so it's easy on your wallet, but it's not an auto campground, so it was quite difficult to rent a cart to carry it around the park😖💦 Tomboro tidal flat, which is rare in Japan, is located near the park. Since there is, I would like to see that next time as well.

(Translated by Google) I went there for the first time! Anyway, it's spacious and tranquil, and it looks like it'll be nice in spring. There is just one thing I would like you to make and improve! I went for the long roller slide. I wondered if it was made to be gentle for safety reasons, but compared to other roller slides, it wasn't as slippery and was extremely difficult. Even adults get tired arms. The small children were trying their best to skate, but it looked like it was quite difficult. I was already crying in the second half. I hadn't skated at that level, so that was the only level I really wanted to improve on.
