Park
Theme park
Ghibli Park, located on the outskirts of Nagoya, is a newly opened theme park dedicated to the iconic movies and animated works of Studio Ghibli. It is the world's first park of its kind and has quickly become a popular attraction since its late 2022 opening. Visitors can explore attractions like Ghibli's Grand Warehouse, which are now accessible to overseas visitors.
Need to buy tickets one month in advance. I bought it from Lawson, 2pm sharp. Worth to visit, but they don’t have car park so need to take the public transport. Way less people than Disneyland, worth to go for all the Ghibli fans! A lot of kids play area, good to take children there too!

Definitely an amazing experience. The ticket had to be reserved online months ago (not an easy task). There were two parking lots (a closer one and a farther one through tunnel). Even the tickets were limited but it was packed with people. I recommend you to pick the earliest available slots because people would never leave the venue, which means there would only be more and more people lining up for photos. All the decors were nicely presented - you just have to be patient to line up and take photos happily. The staff was helpful. The food inside was just fine - can put the money in the amazing souvenirs. It could take up a whole day but it was worth the time.

(Translated by Google) It's very nice but there's not a lot of magic in the park, there's no music, the entrance is to a sports center so between each theme park there are sports infrastructures. There is a lot of work. The attractions are mainly photo booths, mostly crowded with people. The store is obviously very expensive but there are exclusive products from the park. The cinema is very nice, it offers a short 14-minute film on the cat bus. Come a little early than your ticket time because there are a lot of people. The park empties around 4 p.m., which is the best time to go to the photo spots.

Let me start off by saying…it was very difficult to get tickets to this place. So please book minimum 2 months ahead. I had to rearrange my travel logistics to fit this visit as there were limited tickets on limited days with limited timing…and i only managed to book for the warehouse visit only. But i really enjoyed visiting the warehouse. I wished i had booked earlier to ensure i would have gotten slots to the other areas of the park. My ticket was for the 2pm slot. But they start shutting down at around 5-ish so there was limited time. If you are trying to get tickets, try to book the earlier slots. Good luck!!!

The best place to visit with a family in Nagoya if you are familiar with animations produced by Ghibli. As far as I can tell that people in Nagoya should be lucky and blessed!! Awesome exhibition, helpful staffs and well organized contents for Ghibli artwork lovers. Highly recommended.

Set in a vast park used for the 2005 Expo this attraction is worth the visit for any Studio Ghibli fan. All of the staff are really friendly and helpful and a number of these can speak English. There are queues to get into the houses but these move quite quickly. Food is reasonably priced for a theme park and captive audience. If you are a foreign visitor, buy your tickets as early (before you travel) as possible, as access is limited and this contributes to the wonderful atmosphere.

I went early December2022. Great for Ghibli lovers! The indoor park featured many popular Ghibli characters and scenes within the movies. You can only buy a few drinks inside eg Apple & orange juice, Coke and milk inside which the shop also a scene from a movie. No food are allowed indoor. There is a cheap mini restaurant at the Ice Rink next door, so eat before you enter. The children’s section is awesome with a giant soft fluffy cat bus and also has Mei’s living room from Totoro’s movie but no photos are allowed in that section. Otherwise. Mainly is to see the movie scenes and characters. Tickets get sold out quickly online and you will need a local mobile no. in order to get the tickets. Verification required upon entry by Sms. This might change when the tickets are open to international tourist.

Definitely need to reserve tickets online before coming here. It was a fun experience even with the long lines (came on a weekday) to see and take photos. I recommend coming here an hour or more before your scheduled time to explore the park and to queue. The park itself is a nature reserve, very beautiful and peaceful. The queue starts at about 30 min before opening so getting here earlier means you can get into the building ahead of everyone. Food at the cafe was forgettable but inevitable since there are no other options. The milk and cake at the shop was delicious though.

A really fun place to visit if you’re fan of Ghibli studio, or even if you’re not! Make sure to book your tickets way in advance as the exhibition warehouse is not that big, they limit entrance per day and per hours. Reproductions of your favorite Ghibli movie are great, you can take very nice pictures but for some of them you’ll need to make a huge queue (especially for Spirited Away). As the place is always crowded, be patient for your pictures or to buy souvenirs!

There are many spots for beautiful pictures inside of the park, but in many places, it is not allowed. Also, there are areas in which you can not enter because it is for children. I bought tickets for 14.30 and when we entered there was a small queue for the place where you can take pictures with Ghibli figures. We waited until 16.00 and the queue was very long because the first figure is the most popular, and everyone wants to take picture with it. We waited almost for 1 hour and we were afraid we couldn't manage before the park closes. At the end we had 5 minutes to see all figures, and we couldn't enter to the souvenir shop because it was already closed by the time we finished. My advice would be to take an earlier entry time, and to enter first to the figures place , because if you leave it to the end, you might not see it.

I recently visited the park and wanted to share my thoughts and suggestions. Overall, the park offered a great experience, but there were a few areas where I believe improvements could be made. Firstly, I would suggest implementing more line-up instructions throughout the park. At times, it was unclear where to queue, which caused some confusion. Clear signage or staff members guiding visitors would greatly enhance the visitor experience. Additionally, it would be helpful to have stickers on the floor indicating the best spots for photo-taking. This would not only assist visitors in capturing the perfect shot but also help manage crowds and ensure everyone gets an opportunity to take memorable photos. Another suggestion is to have signs indicating the estimated waiting time for each area. This information would be valuable for visitors who want to plan their time accordingly and make the most of their visit. Furthermore, incorporating background music throughout the park would enhance the overall ambiance. Soft, pleasant tunes can create a more enjoyable atmosphere for visitors. Also, It would be wonderful if the theatre could showcase some old movie highlights. This would add a nostalgic touch and provide an opportunity for visitors to appreciate classic films while taking a break from exploring. On a positive note, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the 3D figures. They were incredibly realistic and brought the characters to life. The attention to detail was remarkable! Lastly, I must mention the hand-drawn artwork throughout the park, which was truly impressive and beautiful and I found myself admiring each piece Overall, the park offers a unique and enjoyable experience. By implementing some of the suggestions mentioned above, I believe it has the potential to become an even more remarkable destination. I look forward to revisiting in the future and witnessing any improvements made.

Get in queue for arrival time early! Great experience but be prepared for a fair bit of queueing. Suggest you do the movie scene room area first so that you can avoid long queue later in day, it's the most popular item. Outside restaurant is good. Be sure to check out the Lawson shop and other outdoor shop near train station. The shop in the Grand Warehouse is great but very busy.

We were super excited to visit as huge Ghibli fans but were really disappointed overall. While the park itself is beautiful we were expecting to be “immersed” in the world of Ghibli, instead we found long queues for in the main warehouse and rather boring displays everywhere else. Yes it’s beautifully decorated but that’s about it. It’s simply an opportunity to take pictures with statues of the main characters and there are very few interactive elements. The staff are extremely “by the book” and not flexible at all (like not allowing our child who at the time was in a crawling/walking phase to play in the play area - they wanted to see him walk whereas he didn’t want to at the time). The food was quite rubbish too with very little choice in the afternoon, so go early! I’d say there are more exciting things to do in Japan so we would have skipped if we’d known.
Lusine Manukyan — Google review
A good place to visit for ghibli fans to see replicas of sets and the warehouse of the props they used. The area is huge so you need to allot half a day to explore the area. Lines were really long in some photo spots so prepare to line up for those! A lot of good food choices are available in the area as well, but prepare to line up for those as well
Frances Ang — Google review
We were expecting so much more for the park but it isn't the fault of Ghibli park. The warehouse part is not that big. The visit can be made in 1h30 of there is not that many people. Expositions are great and you feel immersed. At the entrance you are given a ticket to watch a little movie. The shop is great. However the surrounding aren't Ghibli theme and it was a little bit disappointing.

We bought the tickets online 2 months in advance. We got the 12pm timing. We went there early at 11am to queue, as there are a lot of people for each time slot. We went to Ghibli’s Grand warehouse. We spend about 3 hours there. It was very animated. We get to see the classic scene from the different movies/animation produced by the studio. We can take photo with the characters of the different animations. But be prepared to queued up to take photos.

I’m not a fan but my wife is :) seen her this happy about a theme park was very nice. We went to the warehouse and Hill of Youth. The other parts were not open yet. The warehouse is an small Ghibli paradise, the whole thing is inside a big building. There was the standard queue that is everywhere, we spend 4 hours there total. For any husband/boyfriend that comes along, you can go to Toyota museum before the park from 9.30 to 11.30 and the Ghibli Park for the rest of the day, they are 1 or 2 stops between each other.

Great experience but we only managed to get the tickets for the Ghibli Warehouse which entry is 2pm sharp. Bought quite a few item in the shop as it is only available in the park. Will definitely visit again to enter the rest of the showcase.

Great start for Studio Ghibli's theme park, it's still quite sparse (at the time of this writing, Mononoke Village has just opened). A few reminders: 1. if you're a foreigner, please bring your passport (a copy of the ticket on your phone is fine); 2. it's timed entry but you can stay as long as you want; and 3. get the milk. Definitely a must visit for Ghibli super fans (if you aren't, it's fine to skip this for now). No rides, it's for people who absolutely love the films.

Before purchasing tickets I recommend you YouTube on how to do it. There are a few ways including online (Japanese site and foreigner site), through hotel packages, Fiverr, etc... We bought ours 3 months in advance and it involved using 2 computers at 9pm PST for better chances as they tend to sell out really fast. There are, at the time the Grand Warehouse plus 2 other areas which requires separate tickets: Dondoko forest, which we also bought and Hill of Youth. Depending when you go, there are 2 other areas that are in the works of opening: Valley of Witches and Mononoke Village. Tickets were cheap. About $15 per person for the Grand Warehouse and $8 per person for the Dondoko Forest. It takes about an hour to get here if staying in Nagoya. There is a Lawsons near the entrance to the park although no outside food can be eaten inside the park. That means you can still bring it in, but technically you can't eat it inside. (I've seen others do it.) There are food and sweets inside the park and warehouse for purchase. Our timed ticket was at noon and we arrived at 11:30am to line up. I suggest you also arrive at this time or even earlier so the wait inside the exhibition won't be so bad. There was about 60 people in front of us. There was shade. Hit up the exhibition first. My partner and I took turns waiting in line while the other explored, so we didn't waste any time. They began to let the line in at 11:59am. We got in line to the exhibition at 12:03pm and got inside at 12:18pm. There's 2 floors and we spent about 25 minutes in there. After, we went to the cinema to watch a 15 minutes short film. Don't skip it. The film selection does change. There are also areas for kids to play in. The line to have a picture with the giant robot was ridiculously long but if it's not a must you can just take a photo of it without waiting. We finished the museum by 2pm and started to wait for the free shuttle to go to the Dondoko Forest. We skipped the gift shop. Our timed ticket was at 3pm. We waited a long time for the shuttle but you can also walk there which takes about 15-20mins. If you liked, "My Neigbor Totoro" then you will like Dondoko Forest. Overall if you are a studio Ghibli fan, I recommend visiting. But if you only saw 1-2 movies, then no. You'll appreciate the park more if you are familiar with the movies so binge watch before visiting!
Hi I Am — Google review
Warning: This is on an Expo Park so Ghibli Park is part of another park with LONG QUEUES, LONG WAITS and A LOT OF WALKING to get from one place to another if you can't make the free bus (that runs every 30 minutes). There are lots of indoor areas you are NOT allowed to take photos and re-entry not allowed. I booked 12pm for the Ghibli Warehouse for the 25/03/2024 but arrived at the park at 10am with my party of 4. It was raining so we couldn't predict that this will happen as I had to book this 2 months in advance. Booking was straight forward but time consuming after reading reviews to have the website ready very early not at the time that tickets are open for sale to get an earlier number in the queue. I purchased the premium one day tickets. There is a warning on the website that it will take longer than one day to visit all areas of the park and it is true. I couldn't see everything on the day and despite the rain it made it hard to walk around to every location with some being a short couple of minutes walk to feeling like a hike. I would suggest to book an earlier time to get into Ghibli Grand Warehouse. The ticket says to queue within the hour of booking for Ghibli Warehouse. I rocked up with my party in the very long queue just after 11:00am to be told to come back at 12 as they are letting in those booked at 11am. I came back after checking the Witches area and given a UV light stamp so I can return into the place. (There was no time to come back at all with the time spent queuing in every section). The information desk is inside the Ghibli Grand Warehouse and the only place that had a physical map of the whole park available and the Ghibli Grand Warehouse. And you have to ask for one and they only provide one per party. It is very PACKED with long queues to take a photo with NO FACE in the Exhibition which I didn't bother and went to the main entrance to take a quick photo from outside the queue before someone went in for their turn to get their photo taken. More queuing to get photos for each section. My friends went to the cafes to check for food and some food was sold out. Not great considering that there is more people coming in than the amount of food provided. There is food trucks outside but you can't go back in the Ghibli Grand Warehouse 🤷‍♀️😒so you have to stay in there to check everything. Ghibli Park is more only for Instagram than for having a good experience. I was left a little disappointed with the premium ticket NOT having a premium experience and more of a regular experience with lots of queues and having to quickly take photos while everyone is taking their time getting MULTIPLE SHOTS and in different positions. The MAP is a LIE of the positioning of locations. The Dondoko house is more further than what it is on the map and for foreign tourists I had to follow Japanese locals to get the direction of where to go as there is no English signage. Some of the workers don't speak well English but at least some had the rules in English to follow to show before entering each locations aka no photos inside, no food or drink, no re-entry etc. I didn't get a chance to catch the free bus that goes around every 30 minutes and the other option the Cat Bus you have to pay 1,000 Yen to take the cat bus to get from one specific place to another which I believe should be included in the premium ticket. I did not bother paying as I think it was a rort. I missed seeing some locations missing the Free Bus and also by the time I found Dondoko Forest it was already getting hour close to closing time and my partner and I were tired. Our friends left earlier on as the experience was draining and they were not having a good time plus not big Ghibli Fans.

It’s a nice place specially when the weather is nice, but in reality it’s lacking. Most of the spots you can only see and can’t take pictures which while understandable also take a way a little from the experience, because of how they set up the grand warehouse you might feel rushed to go from place to place and might not be able to see the whole park in a day. Not because there’s that much to see but because you are going to spend a lot of time in lines and walking from point to point. They even recommend multiple visits to see everything but most tourist can’t afford the time or money to do multiple days here. I would say is worth the experience if you’re a fan but lower your expectations.
Leo Garay — Google review
The park is arranged just horrible - we‘ve been there a week ago. They sell more tickets than number of guests they are able to operate. If you want to have these photos done, be prepared to spend whole day staying hours and hours in endless queues - nothing else (~1-2 h for every photo - it is just ridiculous). Also, there is almost nothing to do without Premium ticket since admission to most attractive places are only with it. No matter how we love Ghibli - worst experience during the whole trip to Japan and IMO it does not worth it (unless you are a blogger running after hyped content). Maybe you should take some workshops by more experienced colleagues on how to arrange such experience to provide your guests with good memories (Warner Brothers Studio Tokyo, for example is a well organised place).

Went with an out of town friend. Lots of places to check out and take photos. Enjoyed the park that it is located in as well. Snacks were good and not too over priced. The merchandise is pretty good overall. Left wanting to watch all the movies again. Definitely going to check it out again in the future as it grows.
Paul Richardson (Paulie Rhyme) — Google review
I'm a Ghibli fan, and this park has been a disappointment. I took the premium pass, and it's honestly not worth it. Actually the entire park is not worth it for the price you pay. First, when you enter, things are not really indicated. My pass indicated a time entrance at the Grand warehouse at 9 am, but once inside, there is one arrow indicated straight when it will be on your side. You have long queues for literally everything, and as nothing is indicated, you don't know what you are queueing for. You can try to ask the staff but they have a very limited English and will probably just show you where to queue. The Grand Warehouse is quite nice, the movie is worth it and the exhibitions as well. I was a bit disappointed that we couldn't take pictures in many spots (the special exhibition for example, or the inside of every building that you can enter with the premium pass, such as Satsuki's house, Kiki's house, the cat's return house or Howl's moving Castle). It's a shame cause these buildings are where the details were put, especially Howl's room was really beautiful. All the things to do are quite crowded, and the worst were the shops. Things are way overpriced there, and people go wild. They absolutely lose all respect. My boyfriend had an arm in a cast due to a recent accident and got pushed several times by people who did not even apologise. The overall decor is beautiful but the fact that you have to queue because it's "instagramable" is quite annoying. Food is quite expensive there as well and there is very little space to sit down. The mononoke village was probably the biggest disappointment. There is literally nothing in there! It's just two statues and a building resembling one in the movie, where you can make some snack that has nothing to do with the story of the movie. If you want to ride the carousel or the other one, you have to pay extra. I'm sorry but I paid my tickets 80 AUD each, and I'm wondering what I paid for. Maybe I had some high expectations, but there is so much potential and so much material to create a wonderful park, it's a shame that the people in charge are doing such a bad job.. I hope they really improve the park.
Cassandra — Google review
Honestly, I was a bit dissapointed. I guess there is a lot more to get for pre-school children in the little village section. The line to get photos from scenes from the movies was like 2 hours. The only thing that saved our visit was the special ghibli food exhibit. That was awsome, itself fully worth the price of admission. Unfortunately, it's not permanent.

Outdoor Activities
Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, located in Nagoya, is a popular tourist spot offering a diverse range of attractions. The zoo boasts over 125 species of mammals, 70 species of reptiles, and more than 86 species of birds. Adjacent to the zoo is the city's Botanical Gardens featuring an extensive greenhouse with over 7,000 varieties of plants from different environments such as desert and jungle.
A very large zoo with a lot of facilities that all are reasonably priced, there is even an amusement park with rides. The cherry blossom garden is super spectacular. I stayed for the whole day there.

The place was really very good. You can enjoy by watching different species of reptiles mammals. Also you can enjoy various rides.😀 Due to covid 19 I recommend you to book a ticket in advance from the website before visiting.

What a beautiful zoo with lots of walking paths. You'll spend an entire day here if you want to just enjoy everything, so get here early. The animals seem very well taken care of and a lot of open space for them. The zoo's collection is large as well, compared to other zoo in Japan, there is a lot of space. A great place for a picnic, a walk, and enjoying nature away from the city, so it is a good way to get out of the busy city for a bit on your trip.
Kay Ong — Google review
The enclosures seemed way too small for the animals (especially the elephants, tigers, red pandas, and hippos). Many of them were pacing back and forth in their limited space or stuck in position, and seemed distress by being in such close proximity to guests with nowhere to go. It seems there are some facilities under construction… I hope they will be of suitable size in the future. I initially came only to go to the botanical gardens, but decided to check out the zoo since it’s included in the ticket. Now I feel bad giving my money to an organization like this. I’ve been to some excellent zoos where the animals seemed to be in good care and in a well-maintained habitat. This is not one of the zoos.

AMAZING PLACE! Visited this place on a weekend with my family. We bought tickets from FamilyMart so we didnt need to line up. It was not crowded despite it being a weekend. We spent almost 4 hours looking at the animals. They also have a botanical garden that was so amazing. Entrance fee for adults is ¥500. Elementary and Junior High Schools students are FREE of charge.

This place is huge, this past few years they constantly have renovation in some section. Their tickets price so cheap. Animals looks in good condition and they have lot of it. The zoo is enjoyable both for child and adult, lot of toilet with changing table, and restaurant and snack bar. We love the elephant place, be sure to check them out. Botanical garden is massive too, it took whole day to explore this place. Their souvenir shop is basic with all the thing they could make as souvenir.

We went on a sunny day with nice autumn colors all around. It was wonderful to take a walk around. There is a lake that looked pleasant for boating. The sky tower is a must visit to get a view of the town.

Truly a very wonderful place! The day I went it rained so hard but I really didn't care. I enjoyed my time so much and I didn't notice that closing time approached while i was deep inside the park! The park has a huge selection of animals from birds to monkeys to lions! The rose garden and green fields are also very pretty and I found myself just walking and getting lost in the natural beauty all around me! The entrance fee is very cheap at 500 yen and you can upgrade your ticket to include the sky tower for 680 yen I believe, which I will definitely do next time! There also many food stalls, cafes and restaurants with a variety of different foods and beverages, there were also many vending machines and gift shops. Overall, this place is a MUST visit for anyone who comes to nagoya, alone or with family or friends, it's worth it!

Very large zoo and botanical gardens. We were surprised by the number of animals at the zoo, who seemed to be well fed but the enclosures are quite small. - ¥500 admission (¥640 combo ticket w/ the Higashiyama Sky Tower) - 3-minute walk away from the Higashiyama Koen subway station - Plenty of food options and washrooms - Large pond for pedal boat (¥1,200 for 40 minutes) - Can easily spend an entire day - Great for families

What a wonderful place! This zoo is located in Nagoya city which you can easily take train to get to there! The location is amazing!! And I think this is big enough if it is located in a city. We spent a day there and studied a lot of background of the animals. There are a lot of animals which is good for the animals lovers to go and visit. The tickets are economical that is worth to spend to go!

A must go place to visit. It was a full day of walking. But worh it!!!! Go here, Go there. What's next to see. What do you want to see, Plants or Animals, that is the question. Great Family outing. Inexpensive place. Hungry.... There's no need to worry. There are a variety of food vendors to choose from. Vista the Amusement Park. All kinds of rides to enjoy for the little kids & adults kids.
Kevin Taitague — Google review
This place attracts lotsa kids with parents, which is expected anyway. There are few enhances you can get in but since we are tourists, we took a train as recommended by google. 🤪 its quite a huge place and may take you the whole day if you intend to stop at every place. The highlight is of course the koalas which are damn cute. But there are too few of them, around 10 probably. There are plenty of animals and reptiles to see, so you wont really get bored. The seals are funny too btw. As we went on a sunday, probably why its so full of toddlers and kids. Perhaps a weekday will be better to visit.
ken ngai-foong — Google review
The zoo is large, not what I imagined it to be. Walking and enjoying the scenery from morning to almost dark and still not covered all of them. Really worth visiting!
Muh Dipo — Google review
Unfortunately, this zoo is essentially a circus which cares not for the welfare of their animals. Incredible animals such as snow leopards and jaguars are trapped in tiny cages with little to no space to move. Many animals show signs of visible distress. A truly disgusting place if you have a shred of empathy.

It is good for kids and kids at heart, but when we go there there's a lot of construction we are not able to enjoy the whole place. but it is beautiful and clean.

The Toyota Automobile Museum is a fascinating destination for car enthusiasts, showcasing the evolution of automobiles through rare and classic cars. The exhibition hall provides a comprehensive narrative of Toyota's entrepreneurial journey, reflecting the historical transformation of the country with products from different eras. Located near the 2005 Aichi World Expo venue, the museum features antique cars from America, Europe, and Japan spanning over a century.
Awesome automotive museum for car lovers. Very well setup and exceptionally clean and neat. Many vintage and classics cars can be seen here. Suitable for everyone.

The Automobile Gallery has around 140 vehicles on display that tell the history of automobiles from their creation at the end of the 19th century to the present day. In the Cultural Gallery, you will find over 4,000 posters, car parts, car mascots, and other cultural materials related to automobiles on display in the Automobile Culture Showroom. Besides being full of materials on automobiles, the library also has a vehicle picture book room for children.

One plus star for great maintenance of those grand grand parents old classic cars. Little disappointed that they have more collections from other brands instead of showing the Toyota cars history. Maybe you can find more types of Toyota vehicles in an used car shop than here. University students 1000yen, commercial museum is cheaper better access and still more interesting.

Amazing place to visit especially as a car enthusiast. The variety and history on display in terms of cars is extremely worth the tour and the entire facility is such a nice place to be in. There is a restaurant and a cafe in the building that is worth visiting for before and after the tour. The gift shop also has a lot of stuff wirth buying. Overall a very enjoyable visit and one that will intrigue even none car enthusiasts.

A wonderful collection of motor cars from 1886 to 2024. For anybody interested at all by cars this is a great place to go. We went on a Sunday. Easy to park within a minute or so walk from the entrance. I even saw my own car displayed - not the actual one but the same model.

This place is less of a museum and more of a heaven for petrol heads. The collection of Automotive history here is truly staggering. The most impressive by far is the Bugatti 35B, a very famous racing car. In addition, seeing Colin McRae’s Impreza was also special for any Brits who grew up watching him race.

Beautifully curated car exhibition from the early days till now. Bit depressing to see how we went from driving super cool cars to the dasai buckets we have now.. You’ll need a couple of hours if not more to go through the whole thing and it’s totally worth it. You can see from up close all kind of car brands not only Toyota, complimented with art deco posters from auto exhibition etc of the past. The only bad thing is that the museum is in the middle of nowhere with no decent food options around and the cafeteria food didn’t look edible so it’s something to take into consideration.

For any car lover you need to go here. We arrived at opening hours because we had to go to Ghibli Park. We spend a total of 2 hours there, could have spend 2 more, but our main attraction that day was Ghibli Park. The museum has old historical cars and modern, the museum consists of 2 buildings one they display cars and one that has rally/WRC and other “random” car stuff. I would have loved even more cars from Asia in general since I as a western are not familiar with car history of Asia, but not in anyway negative. If we come back again I would spend longer time.

Very well done museum and am glad I came here as a last minute add-on to our trip. Had other cars other than Toyota ranges from past to present. They also gave my kids a paper to find car stamps throughout the museum and they enjoyed hunting for those. At the end when they found all of them, they gave them a carboard cutout of a 2000GT to put together. They also had a section with tons of old car toys, models and many hood ornaments. Overall, very good museum and we didnt even see everything. Had a nice giftshop that had models, snacks, and some cool keychains I have not seen before.

An amazing museum - not only for Toyota vehicles but for cars in general. It displayed basically all key car models in history from all brands for how cars have evolved and developed (of course, with more Toyota cars). It could be worth a day in this museum. The staff was really nice as well.

Good way to kill time if you happen to be in Nagoya area for some reason. Honestly there doesn't seem to be much else to do in the area, touristically. I was a bit pleasantly surprised that it's not so much a museum of Toyota but includes many other influential auto manufacturers, Japanese, American, and European. There were surprisingly few Toyota cars actually. The cafe restaurant has absolutely the worst food I've had in Japan and I think they should be ashamed of themselves.
Michael Goodman — Google review
I thought it would be a Toyota museum but found it to be about ALL automotive history. Commencing from late 1800s until current. Displays from all over the world and brands, not just vehicles but other artefacts such as models, posters, magazines, etc. has a gift shop and cafe to chill. Could easily spend a few hours here if you read each of the plaques

Any car person that is around the area or planning on visiting Nagoya should definitely visit this museum. It's not just about Toyota, but any cars that have had historical importance in the automobile industry. The main hall has all the cars separated by era and then another hall with a bunch of trinkets, defunct brand logos, small car models, license plates from all around the world, and car brochures on display. They also have a library where every book is about cars. This includes but is not limited to magazines, novels, repair guides, encyclopedias, and brochures from when the car was being sold brand new. Super cool and would recommend up to an entire day if you really like your cars.

Excellent museum which showcases the evolution of Toyota from a cloth weave machine manufacturer to the powerhouse automobile manufacturer it is today. The museum recreates how the founder Toyoda moved from automated loom machines to robotic car manufacturing. Well worth the visit. You can complete the visit in an hour or two which makes it a great short visit to escape the summer heat. You can get a discount for entry if you buy the Me-guru pass from the bus station.

Priceless collection of past and present automobiles. Reminds me of the Peterson Automobile Collection in Los Angeles. Gives the history of how the Japanese auto industry was shaped by Mr. Honda and Mr. Toyota who pioneered high quality Japanese mass auto production. Even have Mr. Benz's first automotive prototype.
Matt Jew — Google review
Great museum for any motoring enthusiasts with a large number of cars displayed in showroom fashion here, along with other exhibits on car culture and media. There were a surprising number of American and European cars on display, though there were certainly a number of Japanese classics too. Concept is on the evolution of automobiles throughout history so that makes sense. Location wise it's kind of in between Nagoya and Toyota city so may take a bit of time to get there from either.
Bent Zent — Google review
Spent about 2 hours there. You could spend longer or shorter depending on your interest in cars. The exhibits themselves may be a bit boring for young kids but the culture exhibit is more kid friendly. They have student discounts (need to check ID), and senior discount. Washrooms were very clean and spacious. The gift shop was smaller than I had hoped. I really appreciated how they laid the exhibits out in chronological order to tell the story of the automobile industry in Japan. I liked how they included the history of other Japanese car makers and not just Toyota’s. I would’ve liked more information about Toyota cars and models specifically. Easy to get to by driving. Plenty of parking. Easy enough by transit. A short walk away with clear signs at the station to lead you there.
Ellen Wong — Google review
An excellent car museum, but very few Toyota cars and perhaps only a dozen Japanese cars in total in possibly Japan's best car museum. Most of the other cars I've seen many times in many museums around the world. Lots of American cars. America has great car museums stuffed with American cars. What we don't have much of in the world are museums with Japanese cars. It seems that the Japanese don't rate their own cars too highly, and that is a shame. The cars are all very well looked after, presented in bright studio lighting with photographic backdrops, and some really interesting items including President Roosevelt's 1939 Packard 12. But the museum is a long way out of the centre from Nagoya - about an hour on the metro with two journeys. It took up an entire day of our Japan trip, as a stopover between Tokyo and Kyoto. You'll need to decide if it's worth your time when you can see the same things probably at home. There is a great toy display, and you can buy lots of the cars you can't see on show as die cast models in the gift shop.

- Very educational museum that not only features cars of Toyota, but also cars from other manufacturers as well as artworks. - Highly recommended for individuals who are into cars or design. - ¥1,200 admission / adult - Free guided tours in English available by advanced reservation. - Free parking. - To visit by public transportation: the nearest Geidai-dori Station is a 5-minute walk away from the museum. - Expect to spend approximately 2 to 3 hours at the facility.

If you’re visiting Nagoya, the Toyota Automotive Museum visit is a must. You can get here easily via subway - super easy. The museum is an automotive history, so you will see cars from different manufacturers from around the world. The collection of cars is incredible and you’ll remember certain cars that you just don’t see on the roads anymore.

Okay I saw a review here criticizing there were not enough Japanese cars and they had all these other cars first of all there were tons of extremely rare Japanese cars more than you would expect second of all the other cars they had I'd say about half of them are so rare you probably won't see them anywhere else maybe even 75% of them they were ridiculously rare and they were historic for a reason the first electric car the first front wheel drive car things like that they were amazing the place was exceptional the only thing I would criticize about that museum is it was so hot in there why they have to have the temperature up that high is beyond me when it's winter outside and most people are dressed for winter

Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park, also known as Moricoro Park, is a vast green space that offers a variety of activities for visitors. It boasts cycling and hiking trails, a Ferris wheel, and a traditional Japanese garden with a tea room. The park's expansive grounds feature sports fields, picnic areas, and playgrounds, making it an ideal destination for families and nature enthusiasts.
A great place to relax and take in the sakura if it happens to be spring.

It’s a HUGE park with a lot of facilities in it. We weren’t able to go to all of the facilities, but I suggest that you visit and try them all. We tried the ferris wheel that went for 20 minutes and you can get a very nice view of Nagoya. There’s a bus that can get you to different facilities around the park instead of walking around like we did (which exhausted us). There’s a lot of instagrammable spots too! It’s better to visit during Spring and Autumn season because trees are beautiful during that time. Definitely a place perfect for family outing and dates!

Like most people visiting the park nowadays, we were here specifically to visit Ghibli Park. However, I wanted to leave a quick review for Aichi Park as well to note they have a 7-11, rest area, snack/food and plenty of open green space here to explore and meet your needs as well. Unfortunately we were on a tight time budget upon arrival to get into Ghibli for our designated time and too exhausted on the way out, but I'd explore more or budget more time to truly visit the park too in the future!

A fun place for families! Other than Mei and Satuki's house for Totoro fans, there are many activities for children indoor (playground + pool) and outdoor (playground + water area). The park is huge and free shuttle buses are available to take you from place A to B. Just know that there are less bus and food options on weekdays. Recommend trying the Honey flavored soft cream and onigiri bentou from a small shop near the entrance.

Morikoro Park, also known as AiChikyu Haku-Kinen Park or Aichi Expo Park, is not your typical park. It is a city playground where people of all ages may have fun. Visit the Aichi Expo Park for an exciting day or a leisurely stroll. The Expo was held in 2005 at two locations in the Aichi prefecture, it was a world fair with the theme "Nature's Wisdom" featured technology and innovations from around the globe in an effort to build a sustainable, eco-friendly future. Actually, Mammoth Excavation and Exhibition was one of the most well-liked displays of the exhibition. There were lengthy (3–6 hour) lineups to enter the venue since the exhibition was very popular among visitors. The former locations of venues in Nagakute is where Aichi Expo Park is located. The names of the Expo's official mascots, Morizo and Kikkoro, inspired the park's alternate moniker, Morikoro Park. I would suggest to visit this park if you really into Hayao Miyazaki creations and if you have plenty of time, it would take almost all day to walk around and even to get there. So if you are only for a short visit to Japan, choose something else to visit.

We came for Ghibli Theme Park. However the parkland of Aichi Park, where the Ghibli Park is located, is also worth exploring while you are there. Nice gardens and flowers, an area with lots of food trucks, people having picnics and walking dogs, walking trails through forest, and Japanese tea house.

Here located Ghibli Park. Make no mistake, this is unlike Disney World or Universal Studios; it's just a big park with beautiful scenery and lake where you can have a stroll or jog or ride a bike. The attraction is just a small area located at certain places within the entire park. A must go for Ghibli Studios fan.

You can cycle around the park in a 5km route using rental bike. The rental cost 100 yen per bike for 1 day. The park is not as open as previous before Ghibli park opened. You cant gain access to many parts of the park now without tickets.

Ghibli museum is not bad, with some interesting props, displays. If you're a fan it's worthwhile, though may be a bit boring for the non-initiated. The outdoor park and forest areas are very nice, with well done accessible walkways, however, either you need to know Japanese or use a translator app for most signs. The local transit bus has a very annoying track that it plays constantly, didn't use it but could hear it miles away, poor driver!

The Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum offers an extensive range of pottery exhibits and also conducts interactive workshops. The museum boasts an impressive collection of ceramics, some dating back almost 10,000 years. Enthusiasts will find the variety of pieces to be particularly engaging. While the museum may not be easily accessible from a major city, it is definitely worth a visit for those interested in art and pottery.
Pottery museum and workshop. The workshop is well worth the 950yen price, includes 20min introduction, clay, and long work time until its closing time (4pm). Pretty challenging to make a good one. Enjoyable visit with family. No booking needed.

Amazing pottery with the literal oldest stuff ever discovered - some peices are nearly 10000 years old - if you are an enthusiast this is the place to be. There are a large variety of peices to look at and despite the location being relatively hard to access from a major city I would consider this a worthwhile venture for an enthusiast.

It's a good museum. Also has an craft studio where you can participate in a pottery workshop or ceramic painting workshop at very cheap rates. Its extremely fun.

An inexpensive place to learn how to make a clay bowl. A 15 minute tutorial is given before you start - it is very clear but is completely in Japanese. Tools and equipment are provided in the workshop and the staff/tutors are very helpful if needed. A very satisfying 90 minutes. The museum has a range of exhibits however there was no English translations available. The shop was disappointing in terms of choice and price. Worth the trip purely for the making. You do have to collect your pottery a month after making. It is possible to get it sent to a location in Japan though if you are a resident.
Tamsin Milroy — Google review
The museum is quite big and in addition to the permanent exhibition hosts temporary exhibitions too. I particularly enjoyed the exhibition of contemporary art in the south pavilion I: on the show art pieces created by 奥直子. With a steady, not too fast pace, the museum can be fully explored in half a day. After visiting the museum you can have a very long, relaxing stroll in the beautiful Aichi Expo 2005 park very closeby the ceramics museum. In the park soon more Studio Ghibli art and attractions will show up.

(Translated by Google) This is a very popular gyoza restaurant located along the main road in Nagakute. I pass by here often and the parking lot is always full and the store is always crowded. Went for dinner on a Saturday night. It was still crowded, but the rotation wasn't that slow so I was able to use it with relatively little wait time. The first thing I noticed when I entered the store was that it was a very lively store. Although each of the staff seemed to be working very hard, I thought they were really enjoying their work, and as a result, I was able to enjoy some very delicious food. There are several half-size dishes, and you can order small portions of them, which I think is a very good system. This time I ate the rice menu shown in the photo, and it was all really delicious. Also, the prices are reasonable, and Gyoza Ohsho has always been good value for money, but now it's even more delicious, making it a very satisfying restaurant. However, I've heard that the taste of Gyoza Ohsho varies depending on the store, so at least the one here in Nagakute is the best. Highly recommended. I plan to go here many times in the future. Annapurna is a spacious Indian/Nepali curry restaurant that offers mild options for those who prefer less spicy food. While the curry servings may be on the smaller side, customers can enjoy an extra naan or bowl of rice at no additional cost. The highlight of Annapurna is their all-you-can-eat buffet, which includes a variety of tasty dishes such as chickpeas and yakisoba. The restaurant also serves delicious chai (Indian tea).
Very good Indian / Nepali curry. Mild options available for those who can't handle hot food. The curry servings are a bit small but you can get an extra nan or bowl of rice for free. And there is a "all-you-can eat" buffet with side dishes, desserts and soft drinks.

I went on January 4th during the lunch rush so it was busy. I didn't mind waiting though. Seating is a bit limited and the place feels a bit small when busy. They have a terrace area where you can bring pets which is nice but can be noisy. The buffet lunch consists of a curry and naan that you select from a set menu first, it is not a curry buffet so please be aware! The buffet section is very small and is a salad bar, a drinks bar and a dessert area. I noticed that items ran out quickly and they weren't always replaced. The tofu ran out before I got to the plates and never got replaced. Most of the food contains meat, including some salad items so be aware if you're vegetarian like me! I guess I didn't read the menu properly or it wasn't obvious but the eggplant curry I ordered uses a meat sauce. I was disappointed that it had meat in it and that both the curry and naan arrived lukewarm. Though they both tasted fine. When it was time for dessert though everything was finished and I was sad I couldn't get any cheesecake! They have an ice cream dispenser which was nice but I couldn't find any clean plates or dishes. They seemed to be unaware when things were running out or needed replaced during the rush so for that reason I'm giving 3 stars. If I'm paying for a buffet I want all the options available and not empty fridges! Otherwise I want a discount.

As a vegetarian who eats a lot of tofu I was very keen to try this restaurant. I wasn't disappointed. The private dinning rooms were tranquil and made for a very special and intimate occasion with our friends. The service was attentive, and waiter polite and informative. The food was fantastic array of many different small plates and mostly tofu based. The dishes were highly creative, aesthetically pleasing and beautifully presented. The centrepiece was a slow cooking tofu dish on the table that we had to prepare for each person as it became ready ro serve every 6 mins or so. Guidence was provided. Although it is located in a location that is inconvenient if you don't have a car, I like the atmosphere of the Nagakute store better, as it is a single store and has a more elegant atmosphere, and the decorations include large karakuri dolls. I'm also happy that the parking lot is free unlike the Sakae store. You can use a private room with a sunken kotatsu for free. My favorite dish is the course where you can eat pulled yuba. After enjoying the process of making tofu, you can add bittern and make tofu to enjoy it to the last drop.

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's is a renowned, well-established fast-food chain famous for its delectable burgers and fries. The restaurant prides itself on providing amiable customer service, ample parking space, and remarkably swift food preparation. Though language barriers may pose a slight challenge when ordering due to limited English proficiency among staff members, they exhibit exceptional patience in accommodating complex orders from discerning children. McDonald's consistently delivers positive dining experiences in Japan, particularly for those with an affinity for American cuisine.
It's not bad if you like American food.

Friendly customer service, enough parking space, quick meal preparation time. They don't speak English,so there might be a little struggle during ordering food. 🙂

They were very patient with my limited Japanese and my complex order for my picky kids. I have only had positive experiences with McDonald's in Japan.

Chinese restaurant
When it comes to upscale Chinese dining establishments, Hamamomen is the go-to place. This restaurant offers an extensive menu featuring a wide range of traditional dishes from China and Taiwan. From classic sweet and sour pork to spicy mapo tofu and flavorful shrimp chili, they have it all. The quality of the food is consistently satisfying, leaving customers with a delightful culinary experience. In addition to their remarkable cuisine, Hamamomen also excels in prompt delivery service and attentive customer care.
The noodles are very delicious.

(Translated by Google) A Chinese restaurant with more than 30 stores nationwide, mainly in the Tokai region. There is also a private room with a round table, which can of course be used by a large number of people. It is positioned between the family restaurant and the authentic Chinese restaurant, which is appreciated by the family, and you can enjoy solid and delicious Chinese food at a reasonable price. That's why the unit price is about 1.5 times that of Bamiyan and 2/3 of the decent Chinese food in Yokohama Chinatown. On this day, I visited with my family and tried to share what I wanted to eat while ordering each one. Order Hamako cotton ramen, Gomoku fried noodles, dumplings, Gomoku fried rice, vinegared pork, etc. Hama cotton ramen is a refreshing and clear soy sauce soup with stir-fried minced meat, and the minced meat has a firm garlic taste. So it's harder than I expected! The taste comes. The soft, medium-thin noodles and the elegant soup are often delicious. Gomoku fried rice was surprised at the overwhelming amount of ingredients. Classic shrimp, squid, bamboo shoots, carrots, wood ear, Chinese cabbage, king trumpet mushrooms, etc. are bound with thick Chinese bean paste, but the amount is overwhelmingly over the bean paste, is this the balance? I can think of it. However, each ingredient is not superfluous and the taste of the ingredients is solid. The salty bean paste is delicious there. The noodles are medium-thick, small-sized noodles that have been browned. The charcoal is so delicious that it's hateful, but what's hateful? The amount is so small that you can think that it is eaten by instant killing. Dumplings are light and full of vegetables, so you can't stop adding crispy and dondon. very delicious. Is this the last seasoning soup for Gomoku fried rice? The flavor of the oil is good, but the fried rice is delicious because it is seasoned with rice and the overall balance is very good. I enjoyed it with a smile and peace of mind in the 3rd generation, and all of them were very delicious and I enjoyed it.

This time, lunch includes 2 small dishes and xiaolongbao for ¥1,419 [Small dishes] papaya/dried tofu The papaya appetizers were too sweet😖 [Hamamomen special jade cold noodles] Cold noodle sauce with mustard and chlorella and lotus root mixed in. Spicy sourness and sweetness. The taste is strong. The purple onions are spicy, and the way the cucumbers are cut is home-style. The texture is not good due to the way it is cut. It's a great value for lunch, though. Well, the TV is made of glass so it looks cool and cool. I arrived at the store around 11:30 without making a reservation, but the kind staff told me, ``You can sit in the tatami room until 12:45,'' and went to the tatami room. (thank you very much!) You might think it's expensive, but there are reasonable sets that cost less than 1,000 yen, and luxurious sets that cost nearly 2,000 yen. This time, I ordered a slightly more expensive set that included appetizers, drinks, and desserts for 1,390 yen and 1,490 yen. I was able to enjoy shrimp and eggplant with chili sauce and fried chicken as the main ingredients wrapped in a small basket! Everything was delicious, but the mango pudding that came out as "today's dessert" was the best. lol (Of course, the main dish and xiaolongbao were also delicious!) Anyway, all the staff were kind and I had a relaxing time! I would like to use it again 😋😋 (Original)

However, there were a lot of parents and children in the neighborhood making a lot of noise, making it difficult to have a conversation and the atmosphere wasn't great. I think it would be better to avoid private rooms. The parking lot is small, so we recommend parking in the parking lot next to the men's clothing store on the east side, although it's a little far away. The lunch set is delicious. The restaurant has private rooms, so you can eat with peace of mind even during the coronavirus pandemic. For lunch, I chose the fried chicken lunch set (1,089 yen). You can choose from 6 types of noodles or rice based on 3 side dishes and fried chicken. I chose the famous tandan noodles. At this price, it's okay. What's more, the private rooms have a luxurious feel to them. The cost performance is good.
