Hōkō-ji Temple, a 16th-century Buddhist complex belonging to the Tendai Sect, is renowned for its giant bronze bell and intricate art. Originally built to house the Daibutsu Statue, it became a place where Toyotomi Hideyoshi made his wishes. The temple boasts the second largest temple bell in Kyoto after Chion-in's. Visitors can admire the detailed carvings on the bell's surface, which include numerous inscriptions.
Great bell and Temple. The priest was very friendly and kind! I recommend a visit. So happy I did!

** Hokoji Temple 方広寺 This temple belongs to Tendai Sect of Buddhism. It was originally built to store Daibutsu Statue ( Gigantic Stature of Buddha ) to which Toyotomi Hideyoshi made his wishes. The temple has the 2nd biggest temple bell in Kyoto after the one in Chion-in. If you take a close look at the fine detaiols on the bell it has a lot of letters curved on its surface. Huge beautiful bell. Small place not really worth going out of your way for but a definitely visit if you're nearby. We stayed only a block away and visited a few times in our week here. Nice peaceful place.

One of the three gigantic bells in Japan. Historically important as it is a start of the demise of Toyotomi family.

(Translated by Google) Hokoji Temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto was founded by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. It is said that during the Momoyama period, it had a very splendid temple and was very lively. Today, the bell tower that served as the starting point for the Battle of Osaka still retains the mighty virtues of that time. The large temple bell is engraved with the inscription ``National security and welfare, Lord and vassal Horaku,'' which Tokugawa Ieyasu had a hard time with. I'm grateful to be able to see up close what started a historical event. It was never placed on the ground during the Edo period, but it was revived in the Meiji period. If you visit it together with the neighboring Toyokuni Shrine, you can get a feel for the prosperity and fall of the Toyotomi era.

Hidden gem in Kyoto which is not overrun by tourists! Savour the unique beautiful atmosphere of Japanese shrines here, rather than at the tourist attractions! This shrine was formerly a place where women prayed for the safe return of their husbands from battle and now it takes care of all wishes related to women, from save childbirth or falling pregnant to finding happiness in marriage or women’s health.

Nice place to walk around. You can bring food and you can rent a bike. The place is big and also parking area.

The name suggests that it is something where flowers of all sorts are blooming throughout the year. But it's actually a public garden with dedicated space and names to a variety of flowers Good that the entry is free. And various recreational zones and walking space made the flowers look too small actually!

This is a wonderful park, tons of cherry trees good for cherry blossom viewing in the spring, a children's playground, a large open grassy area where activities like badminton seem to be encouraged (there are actually rackets and birdies left out for visitors to use). (Translated by Google) The restaurant in Sweet Pia is where my mother often goes out to eat with my grandmother. This time, I accompanied myself and visited during lunch time. It's still crowded at lunchtime, and there's a drink bar, so many people stay for a long time, but I guess that just means it's easy to use. After eating, I climbed up to the observation deck for the first time in a while. Although the weather wasn't that great, the view was good enough to see the mountains in the distance and the buildings of Nagoya, so I enjoyed it♪ The Doll's Festival is just around the corner, so the first floor and the observation room were full of Hina dolls.

(Translated by Google) I used the health room on the 4th floor. 600 yen was a good deal for using the public bath and health room. We also had a great experience seeing the observation deck for just 950 yen. I walked for about 30 minutes using a walking machine. It was great to be able to see Inuyama Castle in the distance while looking at the Kiso River. Today, the outside temperature was in the single digits and it was windy and cold, so it was a good idea to use this facility instead of walking along the promenade along the Kiso River. The coin locker was the type where you put 100 yen in and get it back. Then I warmed up in the public bath on the 5th floor. I enjoyed the view from the bath, which was very nice. The only way to get to the observation deck is to go down to the first floor and take another elevator to the right of the reception desk. You can enjoy the 360 degree view from the observation deck and relax while sitting on a chair. I could see the Kiso River in front of me, Mt. Ibuki, Gifu Castle, Inuyama Castle, the Central Alps, and the skyscrapers in front of Nagoya Station. I'm glad I had a great experience.
