Chiyoho Inari Shrine

Mentioned on
Shinto shrine
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Chiyoho Inari Shrine is a lively and vibrant Shinto shrine that boasts numerous vendors and food stalls, offering delectable fried tofu as offerings. The shrine is easily identified by its striking red torii gate. Visitors can also explore the many shops on the road and indulge in the delicious local cuisine. Although small in size, Chiyoho Inari Shrine exudes beauty and charm, making it an absolute must-visit destination.
very beautiful place and there is lot of delicious foods
Saveen Oshad — Google review
Charming country shrine in Kaizu with colorful and varied marketplace alongside it. Chiyobo Inari, called “Ochobosan” by locals, is a shrine devoted to the fox god Inari, deity of good harvests and perhaps bounty/business in general. You can make offerings of fried tofu tied with straw at the main shrine (this is said to be the god’s favorite food), or there is a case to light votive candles. There are also fortunes in Japanese. The expansive, often bustling marketplace has lots of restaurants, foodstuffs, talismans, souvenirs, and clothing items for sale. I recommend buying tsukemono— traditional pickles— with as few additives as possible (the turmeric-dyed yellow pickled whole daikon radishes are awesome), dried shiitake mushrooms, and fugashi (old-fashioned wheat gluten candy). Like many tourist spots in these parts, there is a Mamekichi shop with bean and nut-based snacks, which are reliably stylish, colorful, and delicious. This is easiest to access by car, but you will likely have to pay to park close. Cycling from Ogaki is also possible, but it’s a long way.

the temple is small but beautiful! it has several typical festival stores and the most famous dish here is that of unagio fish, it is smooth, juicy, delicious and has no thorns.

It is marked by a bright red torii gate. There are many shops along the road where you can enjoy eating local delicious food. The Inari itself is small but nice. Definitely worth to visit!

A lot of people going to the shrine to wish good luck and thanking the blessings they got from the past years. A lot of things to buy also. Kushikatsu is very good here.

Nice small shrine, pretty much famous place of power. The most exciting part though is food and shopping area around it, but some places was still closed after coronavirus. But lots are open so I’d recommend to visit! Especially to try tons of fish food from nearby river

羽島市歴史民俗資料館・映画資料館

Mentioned on
Local history museum
(Translated by Google) I visited Takehana Castle Ruins. There, I found the Hashima City History and Folklore Museum and the Movie Museum. For an admission fee of 300 yen, we learned about the history of Hashima, and there were nostalgic movie posters and projectors on display, which was unexpectedly exciting. Among them, there was a poster for the remake of ``Blue Mountains,'' with Tomokazu Miura's face on it... Naturally, I thought that my partner would be Momoe Yamaguchi, but when I looked closer, I found out that she was a different woman, and when I looked it up on the internet, it was Nagisa Katahira. I couldn't help but smile. This was a very interesting museum. (It would be even better if someone could explain it) (Original)

Ink paintings by artists with connections to Hashima City were also on display at the special exhibition. I was able to take a leisurely look at it. As a person from Yamanashi Prefecture, I was intrigued by the materials on this area, which is a historical transportation hub sandwiched between the major rivers Nagara River and Kiso River. I was able to enjoy it without worrying. It's not a large museum, but if you take your time to look around, time will pass quickly. It was interesting to see everything from old computers to unused old washing machines on display. There are also materials about Sakichi Nagata, a saint from Mino, which I learned about for the first time, so I was able to go and worship the Sakichi Daibutsu, which is just a stone's throw from here. This place used to be a movie theater, so when I asked the staff how many screens there were, they said there was only one screen. The staff was very kind. (Translated by Google) What else is there besides the Shinkansen station? That's why I visited Hashima City for the first time. This movie museum is said to be focused on the Showa era, but the area around Takehana retains a Showa-era landscape. The town of Takehana prospered through water transport, and you can still see old townhouses. However, they are in a state of disrepair and decay. Probably only people who are ruin enthusiasts will enjoy it. It's close to a Shinkansen station, a high-speed interchange, and has historical heritage, so I think it had the potential to attract people. This museum was originally an old movie theater building with high historical value, which was demolished and rebuilt. Is it lack of awareness on the part of local governments? Is it a prank of history? It's so rotten. No, I think you'll enjoy this museum. It's a modern building and has a wealth of movie materials, especially when there are movie screenings. Things were fine until the Takehana line came to this isolated island town that prospered through water transportation. It seems like the town of Takehana lost something when the Shinkansen station and high-speed interchange were built. (Translated by Google) The room rate is cheap. The guest rooms are like a normal business hotel. There is no particular unsanitary condition, but the overall impression is that it is a little tired. Cup noodles, snacks, tea and mineral water are sold in the lobby on the first floor. There is one microwave oven next to the elevator on each floor, so you can buy frozen foods outside and eat them. From June 1, 2022, disposable amenities (shaving, toothbrush, etc.) have been put together in the lobby on the first floor, and each person is required to bring as many minutes as necessary to the guest room. There were two 100V outlets on the head of the bed in the guest room, but they were not energized and could not be used. The windows were taped and could not be opened. In Room 308, where I stayed, the bathroom ventilation fan did not seem to work properly (only the way it turns is weak?). Overall, it's a reasonably priced hotel.
